The Pergamonmuseum is a museum complex located on Museum Island in Berlin, comprising five historical institutions across three wings. It houses an impressive collection of ancient Roman, Greek, Babylonian, and Persian artifacts. The museum is currently undergoing extensive renovations to repair structural damage and is expected to fully reopen by 2037. However, the North Wing and central area are set to reopen in 2027.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love this place! 🥹 It was a one-time visit but so enriching and unforgettable. Walking inside felt like traveling back in time The Ishtar Gate was absolutely breathtaking 💙 and seeing the stone with Hammurabi’s laws ⚖️ gave me chills. And then the Roman Market Gate left me speechless. The size, the details, the feeling of standing in front of such a masterpiece… it was beyond words. Everything is displayed beautifully, it feels like a smooth journey through civilizations. Honestly, it’s not just “old things,” it’s history talking to you ✨ Highly recommend it if you’re in Berlin 🙌

If you haven't seen this museum till now, don't lose the chance to get familiar with the awesome history of great ancient human civilizations, it also can be interesting for kids or teenagers. Apparently it is gradually getting under construction section after another section, unfortunately I missed some important parts due to the reconstruction work, later on I had to check the missing parts on the original video & virtual tour of the museum.
Kimia — Google review
One can easily spend more than 2 hours here if interested. The collection is huge and enormous. Definitely one of the largest museums. The audio guide is very well designed. The Mesopotamian, Babylonian and Islamic collections are incredible. 12 euros for direct ticket bought at the museum. Online booking in advance could help.
Sharvari S — Google review
A must visit museum in Berlin. Museum has so much collection of historical antique items. Ishtar gate is the main attraction and it's beautiful and huge. Also the Roman market fascade is huge and it's well preserved in museum. Audio guide helps in getting the information easily about all the artifacts. Very much recommended museum in Berlin.

Not a bad place. Not too big but enough to see. Pictures attached. It has very good disability access and the staff are very friendly. You need to leave your bags in lockers and need a euro or a 2 euro coin, which is returned after you take your stuff back out. Very bright and airy. Great perspective with the life size exhibits. Worth a visit but it isn't free.
Chris W — Google review
We did no wait because we had purchased the tickets online, but for ticket sale the line was about two hours long(on a Tuesday in the middle of the day). The museum is incredibly constructed and truly remarkable! Very full indeed though. Still, worth a visit while in Berlin.
Ni H — Google review
The best museum I have visited so far in Berlin! Very rich and huge group of artifacts from a wide range of Civilizations like Ancient Civilizations, Greek and Roman, Islamic… I booked the tickets online and entered with no wait time, there are Audi devices in several languages as well.
Fatma H — Google review
One of the most interesting museums I have ever been to. Would surely recommend to anyone who likes history. Alot to learn and much beauty to admire. It took us about 3 hours without rushing and we were able to walk through all the exhibits. TIP: Make sure to carry an A4 size bag if you would like to carry some water or any thing else inside with you. There is a coat check area and lockers for bigger bags. You just need 1-2 Euro to access them which you can get back at the end of your tour. Enjoy!

The Neues Museum, a grand 19th-century institution, is a treasure trove of ancient artifacts and art from various periods in human history. Located on Berlin's museum island, it houses an impressive collection of Egyptian artwork and prehistoric archaeology. Visitors can marvel at around 9,000 objects on display, including the famous bust of Nefertiti and other significant pieces like the Berlin Green Head sculpture and the Berlin Gold Hat. The museum also features mummies in its basement.
This museum is just incredible, I can't believe how big it is. The collections are really special. Even though I arrived early, I still spent nearly three hours exploring the whole place. They accepted my student ID from Vietnam and gave me a discount, too. Definitely a must-visit.
Thien D — Google review
The Egyptian Museum in Berlin is a true journey through time. The collection is breathtaking: monumental sarcophagi, ancient frescoes, burial masks of pharaohs, rare papyri, and of course the legendary Bust of Nefertiti, whose beauty is simply mesmerizing. The museum’s atmosphere allows you to feel the spirit of millennia and immerse yourself in the mysteries of Ancient Egypt. A wonderful bonus: admission is free for Ukrainian citizens with valid ID. Don’t miss the chance to experience this fascinating treasure of history!
Tatiana Z — Google review
Visited the Egyptian Museum at the Neues Museum in Berlin and was thoroughly impressed. The collection is mind-blowing: lifelike statues, beautifully preserved coffins, intricate papyri, and the famous bust of Nefertiti — it’s one of the most comprehensive displays of ancient Egyptian culture I’ve seen. Walking through the halls, I felt a real connection to history. The exhibits are very well curated, with detailed captions in multiple languages and good lighting. The way they restored and presented the architecture inside the museum adds to the immersive feel. One highlight was seeing the Berlin Green Head sculpture (a finely carved late-period Egyptian statue) in person — the craftsmanship and expression are striking. Overall, this is absolutely one of the must-visit museums in Berlin — whether you are a history lover or simply curious, it gives you a vivid journey through thousands of years of Egyptian civilization.
Alfred N — Google review
Really good museum to visit but best to get online tickets before you go to avoid stress! We turned up at one of the entrances and were shouted at by a member of staff, and told to go right around the other side of the building to buy a ticket and put bags in a locker. We did, only to find that the jobsworth could have let us in at her door! Anyway once inside it was amazing, especially the Egyptian exhibition. Well worth a visit!
Jo M — Google review
As an architecture student, visiting the Neues Museum in Berlin was an incredible experience. I learned a lot about Egyptian history while exploring one of the finest examples of adaptive reuse in architecture. The way this historic building has been restored and transformed into a museum is truly inspiring. It’s a treat not only for architects but also for historians and anyone interested in ancient civilizations. One of the best-preserved museums showcasing Egyptian artifacts and mummies.
Mohan R — Google review
The Neues Museum is an incredible place to explore, with a perfect mix of restored historic architecture and modern design. The highlights for me were the Egyptian collection and, of course, the famous bust of Nefertiti — breathtaking to see in person. The exhibits are well-curated and it’s easy to spend a few hours here. Definitely a must-visit on Museum Island!
Hasham Q — Google review
Visited September 2025. This is a really cool museum. This was my first time seeing old Egyptian artifacts. It cost 14 euros to enter. I was able to use my amex card. You have to store any bags in a locker, and you need a 1-euro coin to use them. There are so many rooms with different artifacts to see. Can definitely spend some time here. Totally worth the price of admission.
Josh H — Google review
Main interest was to see Nefertiti bust, which we did but not allowed to take close up pictures, had to stand back to the designated photo line, so bring a long lens camera if you want a good shot. Went in a weekday, so not crowded at all. Entrance tickets available from the main ticket office, but would recommend buying online to save queuing as they don’t sell tickets at the entrance. There is a cafe on souvenir shop inside the museum.

The German Museum of Technology is a fascinating destination for enthusiasts of transportation and technology. Located in a green park, the museum offers an extensive area filled with various exhibits, including airplanes, sensory illusions, rotating houses, and engaging experiments suitable for all ages. Visitors can explore historical vehicles such as the Douglas C-47B Skytrain sultana bomber and Kaiser Wilhelm II's saloon car.
An exceptional museum with superb exhibits and well thought out galleries. It was busy on the weekend we visited and booking in advance is reccomended. There is a cafe and free lockers for all parts. My advice is to take your time here, there is so much to digest and I really like the way it’s forward looking, in particular the annex with its examination of the way technology is going and how that relates to our lives. Highly recommended for a wet day or if you have children interested in the topic. Really good value with the Berlin Welcome Pass discount.
Toby B — Google review
Interesting museum. The transportation sections were quite comprehensive. Great airplane and ship/model selection. Signage to the old museum could be better. But it has a good, if not small display of German vintage cars. And the Cafe was a good place to take a break. A worthwhile museum to visit. Easy to get to by U or S Bahn.
Dietrich L — Google review
Loved this museum. There is so much to see and learn about the development of technology of the world. The computer science is unbelievable to see what a computer used to look like compared to the present, super big! Basically all the items we use everyday were gigantic back in the day. Their new building was the best part of the museum. It was very cool seeing all the different planes during the world wars, while looking at some other ships and even some water boat simulations, which were fun to watch and play. Overall, I had a great experience at this technology museum and highly recommend spending part of the day here!

I really enjoyed my visit to the German Museum of Technology in Berlin! It’s a fantastic place if you’re curious about how technology has shaped our world. The exhibitions are super interesting and easy to follow, with lots of cool things to see like vintage trains, airplanes, and even old ships. What I loved most was how interactive some parts were it made learning about complex inventions way more fun. The museum has something for everyone, whether you’re into history, science, or just like seeing unique machines up close. It’s a great spot to spend a few hours, especially if you’re visiting with family or friends. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Berlin!
Linh B — Google review
Great experience. We went on a guided tour of 1 hour and we wanted more. There was so much to learn! They have tickets at the entrance but it is always better to buy tickets in advance especially for groups. You can choose the day and the time. Our group chose a tour in English and the guide was very kind and the information she gave was accurate and insightful.
Sofía G — Google review
A wonderful museum full of fascinating exhibits for all ages! The variety is impressive — from early industrial machines to aircraft, trains, and space technology. My child especially loved the interactive sections and could spend hours exploring. It’s both educational and fun — definitely one of the best family spots in Berlin!
Alfred N — Google review
The Technology Museum in Berlin is such an amazing place! You can see so many cool things from different time periods — old planes, cars, ships, computers, cameras, and much more. It’s like walking through the history of innovation! Everything is well displayed and interactive, so it’s fun for both kids and adults. A perfect spot to spend a few hours exploring and learning something new.
Ionescu C — Google review
Great experience for the whole family. Best to get first thing in the morning as there is a lot to see. The outside display of gathered trains is very impressive and amazing at the same time as you can spend a lot of time outdoors, where kids can run freely. There is also a small canteen where coffee and bagels can be ordered among other things. Plan your visit in advance to maximise the time spent in the museum. It can be easily turned into a whole day trip. Thoroughly recommend.

The East Side Gallery is a preserved graffiti project covering a 1,316m-long remnant of the Berlin Wall in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. It celebrates the fall of the wall and features around 100 graffiti paintings by artists from all over the world.
A little way from the main tourist attractions, it’s a pleasant walk along the river Spree to see the longest remaining part of the Berlin Wall. 1.3 km in length, decorated by over 100 artists with short information boards along the way. Here you get a feel of what a divided city this was. Only the 3.6 m inner wall remains but add the boundary signal fence, 3m border fence and a watchtower every 600 meters to appreciate how separate both sides must have felt.
Linda — Google review
I had to visit this place for my 3 days in Berlin and it didn't disappoint! Iconic to Berlin. Some are a trip and some I didn't get, but if you run into those you can walk right past to a new piece. Information on the artists is listed in front of the artwork. Super cool. I went solo I don't think I would want to go as a group by going solo you can spend time enjoying the parts you like and take it at your own pace.
James Y — Google review
An iconic open-air gallery full of history, emotion, and creativity. Each mural tells a unique story — from freedom and unity to peace and hope. Walking along the wall is both thought-provoking and inspiring. A must-visit in Berlin for anyone who wants to feel the city’s soul through art.
Alfred N — Google review
East Side Gallery – An iconic open-air landmark An absolutely iconic spot. It’s the longest preserved section of the Berlin Wall, stretching for about 1.5 km along the riverbank. Essentially, it’s an open-air museum showcasing creative, impactful, and often thought-provoking wall art from various artists. It’s definitely worth a visit, as it gives you a strong sense of what the divided city once looked and felt like. The artworks are unique, symbolic, and visually striking. It's also a great place for those classic “Berlin” hype photos. Many murals even include QR codes that provide background information about each piece. A small warning: the area is very busy and there are quite a few pickpockets around. Just keep an eye on your belongings so that this otherwise great experience isn’t spoiled. Overall, a must-see in Berlin.
Christos S — Google review
The East Side Gallery offers a wonderful walking experience filled with vibrant, amazing murals that vividly capture the history and spirit of Berlin. The artwork not only celebrates freedom but also includes clean, powerful graffiti that traces the story of the Berlin Wall dividing East and West Germany.Beyond the murals, the park behind the wall provides a peaceful and picturesque spot to relax after the walk, making the entire visit both culturally enriching and refreshing. It’s a must-see for anyone interested in history, art, and the unique atmosphere of Berlin.
A — Google review
As the history of Berlin is very dictated by the wall that separated it, very good to see it and easy to imagine how it would feel for the people living in the same city but separated from this giand wall. Also i liked that in the park nearby was a lot a people who were chilling, playing and having fun 🌞
Valdrin A — Google review
It was amazing to see the Berlin Wall up close, covered in murals that are not just beautiful but also carry powerful messages. For me it had historic moments to things that still feel relevant today. The walk isn’t too long, and every few steps there’s another piece of art that makes you stop and think. Definitely worth visiting.
Nabeel Z — Google review
I really enjoyed looking across at all the art and little tags locals and others had made on the wall, took plenty of photos. One thing that did irritate me slightly was the amount of attention the picture of the two men kissing got was ridiculous, also it was so crowded at this specific picture that it was almost impossible to take a photo of it and even walk past it, people by this specific picture were also very rude pushing others out of the way. It really upsets me because so many of the other pictures barely had any attention when I would argue there were so much nicer than the one stated above

Deutsches Technikmuseum - Ladestraße is a fascinating museum complex located just a block away from the main entrance. The multi-colored facade of Science Centrum Spectrum and Ladestrasse exhibition buildings are easily recognizable. Visitors can expect friendly staff, impressive exhibits, and a huge outdoor area situated on the former railway depot. It's a beautiful experience that comes highly recommended by visitors who have enjoyed its offerings.
Big and astonishing place to discover
William A — Google review
Spending millions to build this facility and then allowing it to fall into such a state of disrepair is such a shame. So many of the interactive exhibits are broken, don’t work as intended, or are so confusing that even highly educated adults can’t figure them out. And don’t even think of eating at the cafe.

I had a fantastic experience visiting the German Museum of Technology in Berlin! The place is huge and full of fascinating exhibits that cover everything from aviation and trains to computers and communication technology. The vintage aircraft and historic locomotives are especially impressive, you really feel like you’re walking through different eras of innovation. I also loved how interactive many of the displays are, making it a fun and educational visit for both adults and children. The museum is well organized, and the staff members are friendly and helpful. It’s easy to spend at least a few hours exploring all the sections, and the nearby park adds a nice touch for relaxing after your visit. I highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in science, engineering, or history, it’s one of the best technology museums I’ve ever been to!

Gropius Bau is a 19th-century Italian Renaissance building in Berlin, named after the architect uncle of Bauhaus maestro Walter Gropius. It hosts international-standard exhibitions featuring contemporary art, photography, and archaeology. The building has a rich history, having been bombed during World War II but rebuilt and reopened in 1981. Today, it stands as one of the grandest buildings in the city and plays a significant role in the Berlin art scene with its rotating exhibitions.
Loved the exhibitions, the only thing is that there is only one restroom located in the -1 floor. Had to go around the exhibition to reach the restroom.

(Time: 10 August 2025) I came here for the exhibition of Yoko Ono. The museum has two exhibitions, Yoko Ono’s on the upstairs, with lots of her works and “pieces”. The exhibition of Vaginal Davis is on the ground floor. The bookstore has lots of books on sale, however, you see the inflation of the postcards - from 1.2 euros to 1.5 euros for one postcard… 💸
Jacek — Google review
Went for the Yoko Ono exhibition along with a few others, and it was such a great experience. The exhibitions were well curated and engaging, and we ended up spending a couple of hours there without even noticing the time. The space itself is beautiful, calm, and perfectly located right in the city center. Ticket prices are reasonable, and there’s even a lovely little shop to browse afterward. Definitely a must-visit for anyone in Berlin looking for some art and cultural inspiration — I’ll gladly come back for future exhibitions!
Luka G — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit the exhibition, which brings together a variety of works by the legendary and courageous photographer Diane Arbus, who so passionately captured the many facets of a suffering humanity, at times cruel but also poetic, courageous, and a little crazy. The photographs themselves are exceptional, both for the subjects depicted and the quality of the prints. The exhibition layout, however, has some serious flaws: on the one hand, the way the photographs are arranged is aesthetically unusual and captivating, but the downside is that some photos are positioned too high and are difficult to see. The lighting, which in some cases creates strong reflections on the photographic paper, worsens the situation. One gets the impression that priority was given to the choreographic aspect of the exhibition, to the detriment of the visibility of the works on display. Nonetheless, the exhibition is highly recommended, and absolutely not to be missed!
Fabio T — Google review
The Gropius House itself is an architecturally amazing building. The exhibitions there are interesting and it is always worth going there. It is worth checking the museum's website for updates.

I discovered this museum long time ago. But somehow didn’t manage to come earlier. I was impressed by the space and interior. As also by display. Famous artist group General Idea and huge installation in the hall of museum are breathtaking. I will come back soon again.

The museum and shop were well worth a visit. Its a beautiful building and the ceramic stair rods are worth seeing. Entry to the building and shop is free and there is a manned free bag storage facility in the basement. Many of the exhibitions are free to enter. I paid for the “Indigo waves” exhibit, which I thought was not worth the money.

1 star for the Bau Bau Museum. Bad management and not child-friendly. They torture children until limits…… It was impossible to book tickets for the weekend (yes, on monday 12:30 I was in front of the computer and couldn’t reserve anything). Since they claim to have some slots for walk-ins, we went there, the organisation however made sure to make us regret the choice. We waited from 10:30 to 12:40. We went inside at 12:40, they kicked us out after 20 min as they had 30 min pause. They said we can enter also afterwards, but little we knew that it means waiting an another 70 minutes and then again being called in the last 20 min (as they had another break again at 15:00). Long story short: our children ended up completely tired of waiting and hopeless. Begging to enter inside only to try the games they had not the opportunity to play with the first time. “is it time to enter, yet”? “Did the clock rang??” So, without a ticket booked beforehand, you can visit the place only in the last 20 minutes. I wish this sentence had been communicated to us. The staff is very unfriendly, they just don’t care, and they shortly respond (no empathy at all): “We don’t know how long it takes, we cannot let you in, you should wait.” This is not a child-friendly place! The staff is unfortunately not understanding, they advise you very badly and are very unfriendly! Make your children a favor and dont torture them! Find another place!!!

Potsdamer Platz, once a bustling square before World War II, fell into disrepair due to the ravages of war. However, after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War, it experienced a revival with companies like Sony and Daimler establishing their headquarters there. Additionally, cultural attractions such as the Deutsche Kinemathek museum and Theater am Potsdamer Platz contributed to its rejuvenation.
It's one of my favourite spaces in Berlin. It's modern. It looks into the future. Buildings are astonishing, interesting mix of architectural genres. This place hosts so many events. Berlinale is an annual one where Berlin transforms in a star venue. Very beautiful at night!

A shopping passage, (hands-on)-art gallery, the Upside Down Museum and much much more can be found here. Great place to spend some unplanned time. Indoor and outdoor.

Very well organized. You can walk around and you will find malls and other food studios. This is a square and you don’t need tickets for anything

Fun spot with a lot going on. There are plenty of shopping options and places to eat. And easy to get to with the subway system and a lot of options to head to other areas from there.

We had a great time visiting the Berlin Wall exhibit near Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz. It was a powerful and educational experience, especially sharing it with the kids. Seeing the actual remnants of the Wall sparked some meaningful conversations about history, freedom, and unity. The displays around the site are very informative, with photos and facts that helped us understand the significance of this area during the Cold War. We learned how Potsdamer Platz was once a desolate “no-man’s land” and is now a vibrant part of the city — such a striking transformation! It’s a quick stop, but packed with history. A great way to introduce kids to this important piece of the past while enjoying all the excitement Berlin has to offer nearby. Highly recommend!

Iconic land mark with exhibits of the old Berlin Wall, large transport station for many lines, also close to Berlin mall and many restaurants.

Nestled within a historic World War II bunker near Anhalter railway station, the Berlin Story Bunker offers an extraordinary journey through 800 years of Berlin's rich history. This immersive museum spans five floors and features over 30 captivating displays, including a detailed reconstruction of Hitler's personal study and the infamous bunker where he met his end in 1945.
Such a wonderful place. Try to get there when they open. They have free lockers for your bags and small backpack. The price includes the audio guide. The guide gives you general information about the rooms you walk into, however the articles are other documents take a while longer to get through. Allocate about 3 hours to get through the whole process. Don't forget to go all the way to to the basement and see the actual bunker were 1000's of people escaped the bombing.

The bunker audio tour was a good tour. It explains very well what happened and tries to explain how it could happen. It's scary to see parallels to today's world. It's forbidden to take pictures inside, which to me is a very weird thing in 2025...
Rick — Google review
A deep merge, with short and direct information about the history of National Socialism in Germany and all the consequences of it. Supported by photos, videos and some objects all with ambience of being inside a bunker. As a big fan of history I enjoyed the tour accompanied by the audio guide. Unfortunately the original bunker was closed and I couldn’t check it what would surely be a plus.

Just looking at the storyboards outside made me wanted to go in so much! I've to come back another day due to constraints but I'll be back.

I literally love this museum : first you re in a real Second World War bunker, under 4 mt of armoured cement , 2 is really well done and the amount of info, videos, text is huge . You need at least 5hours if you are a history lover as me ( I couldn’t stay more due to my flight)
Damiano Z — Google review
If you come to visit Berlin you must visit this Bunker transformed into a museum. The staff is really kind, especially one of the girls who served us at the entrance. You have the possibility to leave your jacket in changing room and the Staff can provide an audio guide in different languages. I suggest you to take your time to visit this Bunker because there are many historical informations to read to better understand the story behind the Bunker. Texts on the walls are only in English and in German. You can't take pictures inside! Nice experience 😊

A simply INCREDIBLE journey! We spent over 2hrs studying every storyboard and then found a sign saying you are now 25% through the Museum!! OMG!!! Got to be the best, informative Museum in Berlin, so much historic detail. NO CAMERAS ALLOWED so no pics shown, but could've taken 100! Totally, absolutely unreal value for money, it's certainly THE No1 must-see Museum in Berlin in our humble opinion. Simply awesome 👍🏼
Pedro B — Google review
Really good and interesting. The commentary is great with enough detail but not too much to lose concentration. It's actually a long tour, 2hrs plus! I'd advise eating and going to the bathroom beforehand. I went to the bathroom part way thru and it was very confusing doors to get out and then had to go back thru the start again.

Nestled on Museum Island, the Humboldt Forum is a stunning blend of history and modernity, rising from the remnants of Berlin's 18th-century Royal Palace. This magnificent structure showcases baroque facades alongside sleek contemporary design, creating a unique architectural dialogue. Visitors can explore its diverse offerings, including the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art, as well as engaging exhibitions like 'Beyond Nature.' The site also features captivating catacombs that invite exploration.
We didn’t plan to come here but it was a recommendation from a friend then we gave it a try. It was interesting exhibition from history of Germany to modern art showcase. And you have to go on the rooftop to see the panoramic view of Berlin and enjoying the coffee or cake at a cafe.
Pasan S — Google review
The Humboldt Forum inside the Berlin Schloss turned out to be one of the most fascinating places I’ve visited in Berlin—both for its architecture and its message. Walking up to the restored façade of the palace, you immediately feel the mix of old grandeur and modern transparency; from the outside, it looks like history brought back to life, but once you enter, the mood shifts to something deeply reflective and contemporary.Inside, the design is strikingly minimalist compared to the ornate exterior. Wide open halls, sleek concrete, and clean lighting allow the exhibits to breathe. The museum tries to tackle difficult themes—colonial history, cultural exchange, and how artifacts from around the world ended up in European institutions. Some displays are genuinely thought-provoking, especially in the sections covering non-European cultures. The interactive installations are well-done, though a bit text-heavy at times for casual visitors.I also appreciated the open balconies and terraces overlooking Museum Island—the views of the cathedral and the Spree River are superb. The atmosphere encourages slowing down and thinking, not just looking. While it’s not a traditional “art museum,” it feels like a dialogue between cultures rather than a collection of objects. The café on the ground floor was another highlight. It’s modern, calm, and perfect for a short break after exploring the exhibitions. Staff were friendly and spoke English and German fluently. Entry to the building itself is free, but the special exhibitions require a ticket, which felt fair for the quality and depth they offer.Overall, the Humboldt Forum is a blend of beauty, controversy, and reflection—an essential stop if you want to understand Berlin’s ongoing conversation with its past and future.

this is a must-visit if you happen to be in Berlin! The museum has a great collection of art from anywhere in the world, different halls correspond to different continents’ works of art. There were a lot of interactive things that you can do in the museum, there were also multimedias. The place was clean, the staff were nice, the informative texts were good as well. The museum’s shop had a good selection and there’s also a resting station outside of the museum with some interesting benches!

The 3€ ticket to the 4th floor is worth it. Buy the ticket in the main hall. Around the corner there is a dedicated elevator to the Roof Terrace. You can walk around the perimeter of the building and have a great view of Berlin. The cafe is also quite comfortable.

The museum has tons of quantities of artworks, especially the Asian part that demonstrates specific countries’ historical importance! The entry is for free in most of the exhibitions and these part will take 1 to 2 hours to go over. Recommend visiting here as it also provides the craft that can also be used as a chair in the entrance of exhibitions, letting you rest while enjoying the art!

Science Center Spectrum, part of the Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin, is a family-friendly museum founded in 1983. It offers hands-on experiments in light, electricity, sound and more. The museum covers a wide range of technological history with exhibitions on aerospace, shipping, railways and road transportation as well as displays on the internet and photography.
This place is a lot bigger than you think. The illusions and waves expirements are some of the best I've seen. Add that they've also got an Audi Quattro, Jag E type and a robot guide. And it's included in tye ticket price for the main science museum! Can't go wrong. If you want to see the full lot I'd allow a full day. You currently save €1 per ticket buying in advance
Philip B — Google review
The Science Center Spectrum was an amazing experience, especially for the kids. Everything is hands-on and interactive, making learning fun and engaging. The exhibits do a fantastic job of showing how our senses perceive the world around us. From optical illusions to sound experiments and balance challenges, every station sparked curiosity and excitement. It’s a perfect place for children (and adults!) to explore science in a way that’s playful and memorable. Highly recommended for families visiting Berlin! Note: 1 ticket gets you into 3 museums please plan this for a half or full day. Good cafe in main building for a rest period.

Lots of vintage cars, computers, technology, and interactive displays. Good for children. There is an overpriced cafe at the end.
Hana W — Google review
A wonderful scientific delight for kids to explore. If you take the time to read the instructions and the descriptions, it is just incredible fun. Some experiments are not working but that does not take anything away in terms of the experience. One qualm I have is that when you go to the reception they direct you to the special exhibit to the right instead of the spectrum. If you are visiting multiple such museum I would recommend getting a Berlin museum pass.

Very fun and innovative. It is both children- and adult-oriented, where I can actually play the games that was exhibited. The staff was friendly and helpful, and despite a smaller size than a regular museum, my friend and I spent ~90 pleasant minutes at the Center. The entrance is not extravagant, and do not let the residential exterior scare you away. Definitely worth a visit.
Mike C — Google review
Went with my 9 years old son to visit the museum and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend it but it's not a 5 stars (yet). Here it's why: -It's overpriced (14 euro / adult ) for the size -10-20% of the stations were out of order - the technology is sometimes already quite old. However, it is very well thought and good taking care of and again we had a lot of fun!
Guillaume K — Google review
This place is amazing. The staff are lovely. There are so many great interactive activities, which seemed to suit both children and adults. They have a brief description of each thing, but you have the ability to just try to figure it out, which for me was one of the best parts. I left feeling interested and relaxed and wanting to go back for more even after a couple of hours there.

The Berlin Museum of Medical History is a museum that showcases medical history from the 1700s until today. The museum has a huge collection of pathological and anatomical specimens, as well as various books and medical equipment. It's definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in learning more about the history of medicine!
The "Medical History Museum of the Charité" - a name that sounds as sober as a diagnosis.: "Viewers discretion is advised" Perfect for increasing my six-year-old's anticipation of a horror show. The deformed embryos in jars were fascinating for her, nightmare fuel for me. I literally had to drag her away from these exhibits. So much for a "family-friendly outing". The exhibits are impressively old. You wonder whether they won't soon become exhibits of exhibits themselves. 60 minutes and 10 euros later we left the museum. Conclusion: An interesting insight into the history of medicine, not for the faint-hearted or parents with easily excited children. If you have a fascination with the morbid and enjoy providing your children with nightmares, then the Medical History Museum of the Charité is just the thing for you.
Tilman B — Google review
The museum offers an outstanding medical collection that highlights significant historical milestones in medical progress, along with an extensive exhibition of human organs displaying various pathological changes, all accompanied by detailed information. I discovered a wealth of unique knowledge, including fascinating insights about rare conditions such as "Rapunzel syndrome." Unfortunately, I am unable to share photos or took pictures due to privacy restrictions. I highly recommend visiting this museum — not only for those in the medical field but also for anyone interested in the fascinating world of medicine and human health.
Anastasiya P — Google review
What an inspiring and interesting place to be. Initially I was skeptical about entering a Medical world and seeing parts of bodies on formaldehyde. However, it was truly human through stories shared associated with a disease or treatment.

Being able to see all the works from Virchow, being at one of his lecture halls and being able to touch all these instruments have been an impressive experience. This is one great museum. To know the history of the Medicine here in Berlin, how everything shaped up, being able to see the different instruments used in surgery during war, all of this is something someone who likes science, history and health in general shouldn't miss. Currently the museum is showing Virchow's Exposition, it is not possible to take pictures, but if you really like to study regarding neoplasms in general, you should see this Exposition.

Amazing knowledge shared in the museum. I personally want to advise not to visit the last level of the museum if you have a weak stomach. Highly recommend though.
Weronika M — Google review
So much to see and learn! There's a whole wall of dermatological pathology renderings (not actual skin). The specimen room is huge, and filled with everything from normal to pathological. A lot of information about Dr. Rudolf Virchow (of Virchow's triad fame). There was another room that displayed other things in the form of an art installation. An iron lung, the first invented wheelchair, a critical care room setup (central lines, art likes, swan gang cath, dialysis machine, ventilator). One beautiful but tragic piece was the diary and sketchbook of a psych patient, that documented her mental state deterioration. Location: easily accessible via a bahnhof and a short walk.

A small but great selection of trabant cars including some custom ones. Good specs and details and a long video with interviews of the original engineers and the cult following and various festivals celebrating the little duroplast and steel 2 stroke marvel

Cash payment. The museum small but gives different collection of trabant cars and its history. Most the cars has English Description only one car.

Not the biggest museum but still interesting. They had around 15 cars with cases of memorabilia. There was also a threatre room showing a really interesting piece on the history of the development, downfall and renaissance of the Trabant. As a petrol head, would I recommend it? At 9 Euros for an Adult I thought it was quite expensive but I'm glad I went to see it. The gift store is free entry but full of general tourist tat. Locationwise, it's very easy to walk down the road from Checkpoint Charlie.

Visied 11th August. Nice little museum. Friendly lady on the desk. As well as the cars, there's an extremely interesting video, detailing the history of Trabants (with English subtitles). At 9€, it's a fair price for about an hour and there is a discount with a Berlin Card

Nestled beneath the railway arches at Alexanderplatz, the Berliner DDR Motorrad Museum is a delightful homage to two-wheeled vehicles from East Germany. This quirky museum showcases over 140 motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds from iconic manufacturers like MZ, Simson, and IWL. Each exhibit features informative signs detailing specifications such as maximum speed and production years—though some may be incomplete, adding to the charm of this nostalgic collection.
Perfect for when you have two hours to spare. Must see if you're a motorcycle enthusiast. Super cute and interesting, excellent amount of information without it being too complicated or overkill. Very cheap entrance fee as well, definitely would recommend

Rune M — Google review
A nice collection of motorcycles and accessories from the DDR Era. Each motorcycle has a sign with some info (max speed, years of production, km/l), not all signs are complete but that just proves that they only give info they are sure about. At the entrance you have 3 bikes you can sit on for a picture which is a nice extra! A bit expensive for 'just' a collection of vehicles but you can buy the ticket for the other DDR museum at the same time for a reduced price which I recommend doing. They also have a 1/30 ever made motorcycle so that is also a nice plus.

Zeiss Major Planetarium, originally opened in 1987 and recently renovated, is one of the most advanced planetariums in Europe. With its huge domed theater, it offers galactic laser and video shows for visitors to delve into the mysteries of the cosmos and science. The 30-meter diameter dome dominates Berlin's cityscape, housing a 307-seat auditorium and a 160-seat movie theater where guests can enjoy fascinating journeys into astronomy and science.
Absolutely amazing. This is one of the best experiences in Berlin hands down. We saw 4 different shows in the main hall and it was quite an experience, it was very immersive and the chairs were so comfy and you feel as if you are in the middle of the dome from all sides. The shows themselves usually last an hour or so and you always wish they were longer. We had quite a romantic evening enjoying two shows there and the atmosphere was super. We also watched a film in one of their smaller rooms and the experience was also just as good, but the highlight is definitely the main hall. Best place to have a date. The place is also very clean and getting tickets in advance is recommended.

Went to the Stary Night show - a 1hour show about the planetary system, the milky way and the universe - was good - though not eye opening. Good for a very wide audience.
Eric B — Google review
Went here for a children’s show that was nice but maybe not very well suited to be shown on a dome screen? Depends perhaps where you are seated so I would really suggest to book seats ahead. Nonetheless, our little one had fun and we already want to go back and see other shows. There are also several interactive exhibits at the reception to try while waiting for the time. The flow going to and outside the Planetariumsaal was smooth and everything was well organised. The audio was good but the visuals not very much. But then, the children were happy. The staff at the reception area were also very helpful. To that, more snack or food options inside (reception area) would be greatly appreciated, though please not overpriced.
Roan — Google review
A very peculiar and fascinating place, both in its architecture and atmosphere. The programme is thoughtfully curated, with shows that manage to be both informative and quietly mesmerising. Since the renovation, the addition of a small and rather charming bar/café has made the visit even more enjoyable. The food is pleasant, the cakes are handmade, and the whole space feels genuinely welcoming. Hosts are very friendly and caring. It’s a lively and distinctive spot — and as a bonus, there’s a small cinema hall that screens a carefully selected programme for real connoisseurs.

I recently visited the Berlin Planetarium, and it was nothing short of amazing! As a physicist and astrophysics enthusiast, this experience was one of the best days of my life. The shows are incredibly engaging, making complex concepts accessible and fascinating to all. The narrator was particularly kind and knowledgeable, adding a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. This planetarium is perfect for people of all ages. Whether you're a young child just starting to learn about the stars or an adult with a deep interest in the universe, there's something for everyone. It's also a great spot for family gatherings; the immersive atmosphere and stunning visuals make it a fun and educational outing. Located conveniently near the S-Bahn, it's easy to get to, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for a meal before or after your visit. The atmosphere inside the planetarium is perfect—calm, educational, and awe-inspiring. The staff members are friendly and always ready to help, which adds to the overall positive experience. If you're in Berlin and looking for an educational yet thrilling activity, I highly recommend visiting the Berlin Planetarium. It's a journey through the cosmos that you won't soon forget!

Well… it left me speechless. I honestly believe everyone should experience something like that at least once in their life. If your hobbies include astronomy, stargazing, cutting-edge tech, or even physics itself, you need to see it. You really do. An experience of a lifetime — and probably one of the very few alternatives , if not the only one, that’s truly worth it. To witness even a tiny fragment of the universe with your own eyes. Damn priceless, If you ask me 🙂❤️🔭

Park am Gleisdreieck is a community-led public park located on the former site of the Potsdamer freight station in Berlin. It was transformed into a pristine and meticulously landscaped green space between 2011 and 2013, making it one of the city's newest parks. The park offers something for everyone, from rose gardens and trails for skaters and joggers to nature experience areas for children.
Great for every age to go for a walk, ride the bike or have a drink in one of the two beer gardens:)

Park am Gleisdreieck: Perfect for Relaxing and meeting friends The Park am Gleisdreieck offers plenty of space to unwind with friends. The large green area is perfect for picnics, while the paved road is ideal for skating and inline skating. There are a few restaurants nearby, but snack and food stands are limited. Overall, it’s a great spot for leisure and relaxation in the heart of Berlin.

This is one of the most beautiful and interesting parks in Berlin. It's made on site of former rail tracks, and you can still feel the vibe. The park is surrounded by a few Ubahn lines, and it gives you an unforgettable experience once you see trains passing by from all sides. Located in Treptower Park, Berlin, the Archenhold Observatory, also known as Archenhold Sternwarte, is a public observatory established at the end of the 19th century. It is home to the Great Refractor, which holds the title for being the longest pointable telescope globally and is often referred to as the Celestial Cannon. Visitors can explore a permanent astronomy exhibition and marvel at a giant meteorite within its premises.
A small but decent observatory. The staff was very friendly and explained the schedule for the show timings and etc. For most of the displays, they were written in German and very few had English translation. Overall a good time spent there.

The planetarium has a simple yet functional setup. The projections are clear, but the experience feels a bit dated. It’s decent for a casual visit, but don’t expect anything too immersive.
Shweta C — Google review
Went there last Friday evening. Had a really good time. The museum is free and we can go to terrace to see the long telescope. It costs 9.50 to attend the event where we can use telescopes. Everyone was nice and explained everything clearly. The whole tour was in German. But, on request, they spoke English as well.
Murali M — Google review
We went there on a Saturday evening. The staff informed us that the museum is free but there was also a tour with 3 experts that has just started. The tour was in German but the guide did his best to explain everything in English as well. We had the chance to stay till the end of the night, and at some point it was like a private tour in the telescope dome where we had the chance to look at some star clusters as well as Saturn. Unfortunately, we've missed the movie but the experience with the telescope was amazing. Staff is very knowledgeable and really friendly. Shout out to Eliah!

I recently visited the Archenhold Observatory on a weekend and joined the evening skywatching session. A group of amateur astronomers happened to be there that night, being very kind and helpful and sharing everything around radio astronomy with us. One of my favorite observatories so far, a big thanks to the radio astronomers—definitely the most memorable observatory visit I’ve had so far! Hopefully I come back next time with the big telescope being operational again.

Nice and tidy museum to see and explore for young and old. I recommend doing a tour. Definetly worth a trip for any astronomy-enthusiast. Dont miss the roof as you can observe the giant telescope yourself!

The museum can be visited for free, including information about space exploration, planets and a meteorite display. The rooftop can also be visited for a view of the huge telescope and surroundings. Of course, its location within the massive Treptower Park makes it ideal to visit the park at the same time.

The Berliner Fernsehturm, or Berlin TV Tower, stands proudly alongside the iconic Brandenburg Gate as a quintessential landmark of the city. Soaring over 300 meters into the sky, this architectural marvel offers an exhilarating elevator ride to its observation deck at 208 meters. On clear days, visitors are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of Berlin's skyline and can explore informative panels that provide insights about various landmarks below.
Wow it’s a breathtaking view. You can get a tremendous view of the city and beautiful buildings and colourful streets from the top. If you take a view after sunset it’s added beauty with lights . The restaurants is closed in the evening Bus tram is nearby and well connected routes making it easy to reach others parts of the city It’s advisable to booking your tickets early that helps you avoid long queues and crowd. Enjoy your trip
Ashok M — Google review
A little pricy however you will get the best views across the city, you can see for miles. You go quickly up the elevator to the point where your ears pop on the way up. If you take photos of the views be prepared to alter the white balance as the viewing windows tend to have a green tint. Would be nice to see the views at night.
Random U — Google review
This great structure dominates the Berlin skyline. It can be seen from all over Berlin. It’s a famous landmark of Berlin. I didn’t go to the top due to time restraints and the cost. I couldn’t find anywhere that sold entry tickets for less than €20. It’s also in a reasonably built up area so sights would be limited from most the sides, I would guess. However, saying that there are some incredible buildings nearby that might be nice to see from above. I personally think I would prefer other viewing experiences in Berlin for lower costs(I can’t name them as this is against googles reviewing policies but it might be a certain political building with stellar views). I hear there is a restaurant at the top that friends have recommended. A stable and defining piece of the Berlin skyline that can be seen from throughout the city, however, high prices let this tower down.
R. G — Google review
Great location to view the whole of Berlin. You can see all Berlin's iconic buildings. This tower reaches 368 meters high (tip of digital TV antennas), 207 meter high for the restaurant, and 203 meter high above sea level the panoramic viewing area. The lift/elevator speed going up is 6 m/sec, and going down is 4 m/sec. Therefore, you will be on top in less than a minute. Great view from the top. You can buy drinks from the viewing deck.
Jun H — Google review
We came during the Festival of Lights. They put on a nice show like they do every year. Really enjoyed this years show. We had great weather which was fantastic. Look forward to going next year again.
Terence H — Google review
You can see the 368m high television tower from almost everywhere in the city. It’s definitely a major tourist attraction and costs a whopping €32,50 to the 203m observation deck. Be prepared to queue for tickets, security and then the lift. There is a small bar area, two uninterested staff and an expensive drinks menu. €24,40 for a beer and a glass of wine were probably the most expensive drinks we had during our entire holiday. However the views are fabulous so it’s worth a visit.
Linda — Google review
I went up there in 1993. Then it was one of fastest elevators in the world. I have not been up there since however I have seen it and stood in it shadows many times. Anhalter Bahnhof is a historical site in Berlin, known for its ruined entryway and infamous role as a deportation point during the Holocaust. Despite being neglected, it offers a glimpse into the grandeur of Berlin's architecture and the visibility of deportations. The area is not touristy, providing a tranquil atmosphere to contemplate its stories. Visitors can also enjoy nearby cafes, restaurants, and historical sites like the Berlin Wall.
Amazing place of history and sights. So many places within walking distance. Highly recommend it as a starting point to understand WW2 related history and the cold war.

We happened upon this historical site on accident but it was still very cool to visit. I do wish that there would be more preservation of the actual site as it feels a bit neglected. It appears that there may be a museum built here in 2028 but it's difficult to say. It wasn't very touristy which was nice. We also saw some rats scurrying around the pigeons which was interesting.
Taylor B — Google review
Anhalter Bahnhof is a fascinating historical site in Berlin with a deeply significant past, particularly tied to the Holocaust and World War II. Once one of the city's grandest train stations, it was constructed in 1841 and became a bustling hub for travelers, handling tens of thousands of passengers daily. However, its history took a dark turn during the Nazi era when it was used as one of three stations in Berlin to deport around 55,000 Jews, including 9,600 elderly individuals, to Theresienstadt and other concentration camps. The station suffered extensive damage during Allied bombings in World War II and was eventually closed in 1952. Most of the structure was demolished in 1960, leaving only a fragment of its grand façade standing today. This remaining portion serves as both a memorial and a reminder of Berlin's turbulent history.
Shay Y — Google review
Definitely a great stop. Can't wait to see how the final museum turns out. (Although I wish they'd take better care of it until then.) Anhalter Bahnhof (Station), a poignant symbol of the horrors of the Holocaust, served as a significant railway terminus in Berlin, Germany. Thousands of Jews and other victims of Nazi persecution were forcibly removed from their homes and sent to concentration camps, including Auschwitz and Theresienstadt. “In 1936 special trains were run making it possible for Jewish refugees to get to #PALESTINE”.

The Berliner U-Bahn-Museum offers a glimpse into the history of the Berlin Metro, showcasing items from the 1900s and providing an opportunity to interact with them. While not everything is translated into English, it's still a fascinating experience for history enthusiasts. The museum is relatively small and can be explored in about 20 minutes. Visitors are encouraged to drop by on the second Saturday of any month for an affordable entry fee.
Excellent little museum. Sadly, they open it only once every month, on a Saturday. It is very interesting for train and metro fans. Still, anyone would enjoy it. It represents various aspects, from technical information to old pictures, map evolution, ticket forms, and many more. The only drawback is that it can be crowded a bit, it would be better if they keep it open every weekend or something

Can only go first Saturday of the month! But a really great museum about the German U-Bahn and its development. Would recommend for any train/metro fanatic. They also have a part where you can speak into a microphone like a real train conductor!! Also, the entry ticket is pretty nice. Like a train ticket

An excellent little museum with so much to interest both children and adult-children. A chance to announce a train on an original microphone. Play either signal levers. Pretend to drive a U-Bahn train. Great location and great collection. Also a small shop selling maps and second hand books and magazines. Go now I tell you.

Small, but well curated museum about the Berlin metro with a lot of interesting pictures, interactive parts and all kinds of things from the history of the Berlin metro. Open once a month, but still not too crowded. Definitely worth a visit.
Kitty H — Google review
A hybrid gift store/museum of old train tech, uniforms and other paraphernalia from throughout history. Absolutely no place to take children. They have a small Brio train on one of the tables but everything else is not to be touched by children, apparently. While I lifted my 5-year old up to see one of the switchboards, one of the volunteers scolded me saying that kids aren't supposed to touch it. Then proceeded to have my kid stand on a stool while telling him how he's too weak to pull a lever and tell him it's too complicated for him to understand. When the gentleman in question was informed that I was merely showing him the switchboard he changed the subject and rambled about something else, like how hard everything was back in the day and the young of today wouldn't manage. I get that the tech needs to be treated with care, but how do you expect to interest future generations when you treat them like they will never understand? Aside from that, the atmosphere is weird, staff/volunteers smoking inside the large switch rooms, only one of the volunteers there seemed to be truly passionate about the things on display and managed to impart some of that on some of the kids there... For 2€ I guess it's not that bad but if you have to travel a long time to be here with kids, reconsider.
Holger K — Google review
If you're ever around on the second Saturday of any month, stop by at the U-Bahn Museum! Very cheap to get in, fantastic amounts on show regarding the history of the Berlin Metro. The main controlroom with the photos and records that surround it as well as the three side-room exhibits led to a good hour and a half of slow looking and reading. Well worth a stop by if you're interested in history. My only gripe is that they only accept cash, no card. Led to a few return trips to Theodor-Heuss-Platz while I sourced an ATM.

Disappointing if you don't have a tour booked. Not even a shop to buy a t-shirt... Surprised considering the heritage of the place in terms of Bowie, Iggy, Japan etc.
Craig C — Google review
I arranged this tour as a surprise for my musician friend, and it turned out to be such an unforgettable experience. Thilo, with his infectious passion and energy, truly brought the history of the studio to life, making the tour all the more engaging. We were also fortunate enough to have Eduard Meyer in the studio with us, and listening to his personal stories about working with David Bowie was an absolute highlight. As an architect, I found it particularly fascinating to observe the spatial design of the recording studio. It was a unique opportunity to learn about how the architecture of the space contributes to the sound and atmosphere of the music created there. Beyond the studio itself, the tour also gave us a deep dive into the broader history of Berlin, from the legacy of the Berlin Wall to the significance of Potsdamer Platz. The way these historical narratives intertwine with the stories of iconic musicians like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and U2 added a whole new layer of depth to the experience. Overall, the tour was a perfect blend of music, architecture, and history, and it left me with a renewed appreciation for how all these elements come together in shaping both creative work and cultural memory. Thanks a lot for thiswonderful experience!

The interior of this station is really nice, they also have a bakery and a Döner Imbiss there that has really nice meat!

Museum
Paradox Museum Berlin is a unique and entertaining experience for visitors of all ages. The museum features mind-blowing exhibits, interactive displays, and cool photo opportunities that will leave you laughing and amazed. Visitors recommend arriving with a full battery to capture the incredibly funny photos and ensure you don't miss any of the fun experiences. The staff are accommodating, helpful, and provide assistance in capturing memorable moments. It's an affordable attraction that offers something different and mind-bending for families to enjoy together.
I had really nice experience to visit this exhibition 🥰The philosophy of this paradox museum let me so moved.🩷I like physics. Human senses can create illusions. I think this exhibition reflects a philosophy of thinking more about life and following our hearts. It’s fantastic 🫶🫶🫶I will recommend it to you 🩷🩷🩷Thank you for the friendly Staff of the museum and she took a lot of pictures of me. I appreciate it🥰 See you soon💕
Lin S — Google review
Delivers what it offers. All staff can speak English. As a price performance ratio, either the collection may be a bit bigger or price should be a bit cheaper IMO. Staff are always kindly asking to take a photo if they are around but my 2 cents is, there is only one phone holder tripod (which is broken) and I believe most of the experiences should have one.
OC — Google review
I had the best time at the paradox museum! The space and installations were amazing, the staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t wait to return, this time with my family. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Marie D — Google review
Kids loved the experience. We paid 68 euros for 1 adult and 4 kids under 12 and spent 1 hour. The museum is small and you often have to wait for some interaction.
Suzanna K — Google review
I had a lot of fun at Paradox Museum. The museum is super cool and the staff is super nice and helpful. Many thanks to Isabel who took great pictures of me and my friends!
Gabriel F — Google review
This museum showcases mind-blowing exhibits and is an interesting place to visit with your loved ones. The entry ticket was 17 euros per person, which is quite affordable!
Annisa R — Google review
I was not expecting that much... And it was sooo entertaining! All the experiences are fun and let us discover new perspectives to trick our brains. Worth it!
Adrien M — Google review
- This is not a museum, but more of an instagram set. - A third of the "exhibits" were not working - expensive considering you will be done with it in less than an hour, even with kids (!) I don't recommend this experience, especially with the zoo right next to it.

Open air museum
Gaslaternen-Freilichtmuseum Berlin is a unique open-air exhibition located near the Tiergarten S-Bahn station. It showcases a diverse collection of historic gas lanterns from various European cities, including over 90 different styles from across Germany. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely self-guided tour through the park to admire these beautifully preserved lamps, some of which are illuminated at dusk.
A must visit for those interested in lamps / gas lanterns. Absolutely a SHAME that the lanterns are vandalized and not restored. There are important pieces of art from all over Europe in this place: they should be protected and kept in good condition for the future generations. Unfortunately here they seem mostly abandoned
Niccolò B — Google review
This is a good idea in theory, and was probably really nice when it was first made. But unfortunately it's in a really bad state with most lanterns vandalised and broken. Many of the plaques aren't legible anymore and few of the lanterns work at night time. I hope this place gets some love and restoration soon!
Bianca W — Google review
Wow what a very cool place. The Gaslight lamp Museum, but More like a self guided tour in the park and of course free. Over 90 different style lamps from cities all over Germany. What a gorgeous promenade looking at all the different lamps through the ages. Wonderful walk behind the zoo. I went during the day, so I did not see them all lit up, but all the better to see their details. And some were vandalized but the majority were not. Worth the detour through the park to check it out.
Madel M — Google review
Worth a visit if you are in the area. A lot of lanterns were broken either by time or vandalism but still nice to see how the style evolved throughout the years. Most lanterns have small info plates attached to them for those who are interested in the backstory. What especially delighted me was seeing birds claiming the lanterns for their nests, it is quite the adorable sight
Flying D — Google review
Nice idea unfortunately destroyed by vandals. Most of the lights don’t work and brojen
Sergey F — Google review
Disappointing. Only a few "lanterns". Info plates were mostly missing. Some "lanterns" are damaged. Otherwise it could be a nice and interesting attraction. Some homeless (?) in the vicinity.
András S — Google review
Really cool place, but many of the lamps are damaged.
Magdaléna B — Google review
The idea is great and the I've never seen anything like it before, but a lot of the plaques were missing/broken/illegible.

Cafe
Restaurant
Anhalt is a popular restaurant located in the main building, offering lunch and snacks. It can get quite busy, so it's advisable to arrive early or late to secure a seat. Additionally, there is a smaller café next to the Science Center for those seeking a cozier atmosphere. The service at Anhalt is known for being incredibly fast, with drinks served within 2 minutes and food within 10 minutes.
Nice place with friendly waiters, quick service, good prices. We ordered from the daily menu at 2:30 PM and it was really quick, hearty and they served us a big portion. Quality food, really tasty. I recommend it! Don't believe the low score, we just walked in and it was packed, nobody left anything on the plate! We left the place with the hunger far behind!
Vincent B — Google review
Visited the Technik museum and then went to the cafe (from the inside of the museum). Ordered an apple pie and vegetarian Pfannkuchen. The cafe was full and the service was average (at the order desk the lady was a little impolite), however a waiter called our number and came to our table with the Pfannkuchen which was appreciated. It was delicious, fresh and refreshing. Definitely something I’d like to have again. The apple pie was also delicious with fresh apples and in large amounts. The only disturbing thing was the children in the cafe who were so noisy and made the experience unpleasant (not the cafe’s fault though). Definitely visit when in the museum!
E M — Google review
Cozy place with incredible fast service. Got drinks within 2 minutes and food within 10 minutes. Quality of the food is ok.
Steven R — Google review
Food is good and price value for it!! but drinks are not so cold, pity!!
Fan M — Google review
Self service, there was no queue when we visited, coffee is nice, cake was tasty

Do not order water here they will make you pay 3,5 with out taxes for a glass of water that robbery in broad daylight.
Leo B — Google review
I honesty don’t know why this place is so underrated. We decided to drop in here after visiting German museum of technology and we were really happy to find such cozy place to have a meal. Service was fast, coffee was good and meals were fine. It might be loud, but it’s still a great place.
Владислав М — Google review
So surprised at the poor reviews. We had very friendly service and a delicious lunch. Table was clean and atmosphere was lively.
