Bakery

Cafe
Bonjour Brioche is a bustling French bakery and cafe located in the Riverside neighborhood of Toronto. For over twenty years, this classic establishment has been delighting patrons with freshly baked croissants, quiches, tarts, and omelettes. The aroma of baguettes and pastries fills the air as dedicated bakers start their day at 4 am to ensure the highest quality viennoiseries.
What a super place! It’s small, cozy and very friendly. The food was incredible and so tasty. It’s a popular place, so you might need to line up. But it’s worth the wait.

I really had a pleasant experience here, Nathan my server was so nice and always asking if I need coffee refills or something else. Shout out to the maitre d due to his very welcoming personality. It was busy by the patio but had 2 tables for me to choose for inside. I had drip coffee and basque cheesecake and I really enjoyed it. There’s two washroom downstairs but no lift, it would be an issue for ppl with mobility issues. I spent $16 for coffee+basque cheesecake+Tip, which is a steal. I will be back.

I am new to Riverside neighbourhood and was recommended this restaurant. They have a wonderful and welcoming staff. I had plain and blueberry custard filled brioche and also fruit tarts. I love the fact that their pastries are not too sweet. They also have great coffee. One time I stopped by with my dog and they offered her a biscuit! I guess they are a great staple to this neighbourhood. Thank you, Bonjour Brioche!
Seda I — Google review
We have enjoyed Bonjour Brioche since it first opened, many, many years ago. We were thrilled that many of staff remained when ownership changed, and the food is as delicious as ever (spicy bacon sandwiches, quiche, lemon twists, flourless chocolate cake, and their latte bowls are some of our favourites…). The service (especially at their take out window) is also great. I don’t often call in my take out order, but when I do, the person who picks up the phone always remembers my order and my name. It’s a nice place to enjoy a weekend brunch too.
Juliette B — Google review
Absolutely delicious! I bought a loaf of brioche bread and a spinach, feta, and roasted red pepper quiche from here to share with friends. The quiche was so creamy and the crust was light and flaky. I've never had a quiche like that, the feta and egg mixture blended so well. I would 10/10 get another one from here. The brioche bread was just the right amount of sweet and was really fluffy. I used it to make French toast and it was a hit. I ordered both of these for pick up so I can only rate the atmosphere based on the pickup window. The attendant was really nice and the black board and overall vibe of bonjour brioche was excellent.

Follow @bredgyeats on IG for more food posts! Bonjour, and goodbye, I'm going up to my room to enjoy my triple banana pudding in peace. The trio of the creamy banana pudding base, moist banana bread chunks, and caramelized slices of banana bring a rich taste with hints of creamy vanilla, and finished with a drizzle of caramel to add a sweet richness in each bite. Flourless Chocolate Cake - Decadent and rich chocolate cake but quite heavy and dense. Exterior was slightly more crisp, and texture was smooth. Chocolate taste had depth, like at least two different tastes of chocolate. Also not overly sweet. Spicy Bacon - Bacon had a nice balance of flavour, not overly salty with a slight sweetness. Cheddar provided some sharpness and creaminess along with the avocado to increase depth, and tomato for a fresh ingredient. Baguette was still crisp even with takeout but got a little chewy after a bit.

Bonjour Brioche was an amazing brunch spot, the place was simple and cozy. The service was great and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the salmon eggs Benedict, probably the best eggs Benedict I've had and the French toast was amazing as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try most of the pastries as they were sold out (around 1PM). If you want to try the brioche or croissants I suggest going earlier.
Vanessa — Google review
Some of the most amazing breakfast in the city! We love both the indoor space and the outdoor patio. Also there to go window with fresh pastries is amazing. Even their little baguettes don’t compare to others. Can’t recommend this place enough. I usually take guests here when they visit from out of town

Geste croissanterie & bistro, located near Trinity Bellwoods, is a pastry shop that offers a wide range of classic and unique pastries. Their croissants are made with butter from Stirling Creamery and flour from Moulins de Soulanges in Quebec, resulting in a crispy yet moist texture with a rich buttery flavor. The menu includes options like Almond, Pistachio & Chocolate, Cheese or Ham & Cheese croissants.
Been getting their superb Almond Croissants for a few years now - 5 stars is easy to give for a pastry that you won't soon forget. Fresh, crunchy, buttery, and sweet all at another level! The place is super posh and more importantly, the pastry chef is an excellent host 👏👏

A Croissant Lover’s Paradise in Toronto! 🇫🇷 If you’re looking for a cozy spot to indulge in some truly dreamy pastries, GESTE Croissant and Bistro is a must-visit. We stopped by recently and tried three different treats — and each one was a delicious experience! ✨ Kouign Amann – This one was crisp, caramelized, and rich with layers of buttery, sugary goodness. The kind of bite that crackles when you sink your teeth in. 🧀 Cheese Croissant – Buttery and flaky on the outside, with a creamy soft cheese filling that adds a savory richness to every bite. 🍳 Egg Cronut – Our favorite! This was a savory delight with a creamy egg filling that felt like a breakfast sandwich wrapped in a croissant-donut hybrid. Absolutely heavenly! Each pastry was rich, soft, and made with so much care — the quality shines through in every bite. 💛 If you’re in Toronto, GESTE Croissant and Bistro is worth a visit for the cozy atmosphere and their beautiful, delicious pastries. Perfect for a breakfast treat, an afternoon snack, or just a moment of indulgence. 👏🥐

It was excellent!! The croissants exceeded my expectations - so fresh, warm out of the oven (they restocked multiple times in the 2 hours I was there). The pistachio chocolate croissant is one of the best I’ve had in the city….even better than I expected! It had a creamy pistachio butter (instead of frangipane) and generous dark chocolate. Strong pistachio flavor not drowned out by sugar. The kouign amann was also one of the best I’ve had! A thick gooey layer of caramelized sugar and the classic buttery crunch. And I am still thinking about their toasted marshmallow oat milk latte! I got two and definitely would travel back again just for that! The latte I got somewhere else the next day just paled in comparison. The only thing I didn’t love was the pesto mac n cheese. It was ok but a little bland and did not compare to everything else. They are definitely a great brunch spot though - they have a pretty large hot food menu and it was easy to walk in on a Saturday at noon. The service could’ve been more attentive - we had to go out of our way to flag down the waiter multiple times, sometimes even getting up to call them. They do have a self serve online ordering system so maybe that’s the expectation, but I much prefer to order in person so I can get recommendations and ask questions. It was also fairly priced for Toronto. For hot foods, if you are looking for egg-free vegetarian the options are mac n cheese or grilled cheese… but the grilled cheese looked amazing so I’d try that next time. My biggest critique is they have no paper menus, it’s QR codes only yet also no wifi… this seems really off considering many people, especially tourists, don’t have data plans. It was an issue for my dining partner and disappointing for any establishment to make it impossible to order without a self-funded data plan and charged phone. I recommend they store a few pepper menus, but decided not to knock a star for this since the pastries were so good. Overall, highly recommend for a pastry/coffee and would definitely be back!

Came here for a morning walk on the weekend and grabbed a pain au chocolat & coffee to go. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the comforting aroma of fresh pastries and butter. The pain au chocolat was light and airy, with nice layers that you could see in every bite. The coffee was fine, but the pastry definitely stole the show. The peaceful vibe of the cafe made it a perfect spot to start the day ☀️
Quincy L — Google review
The pistachio chocolate croissant may look unassuming but once you're 2-3 bites in, it's everything you want it to be. Warm pistachio butter oozes out and mixes with a thick layer of dark chocolate and its really just perfect. Make sure to get it warmed up.

Originally over around Dundas and ossington — this location is nice. A lot of comfortable seating, and their pastries are great. If anything — try their chocolate chip cookie. Phenomenal. So good I may put them ahead of Le Gourmand.

We were looking for a coffee and snack before seeing a play at Theatre Passe Muraille and found this delightful cafe in a large room. The coffee was tasty and the pastry delicious

The food is amazing. We ordered fritata, matcha latte and a mango bow croissant. Everything tastes great. The ambience is also calm and cozy. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the lively Junction area of Toronto, Patisserie 27 is a delightful French bakery that captures the essence of artisanal baking. This charming spot specializes in an array of classic pastries such as tarts, éclairs, and macarons, while also showcasing innovative Japanese-French fusion treats like matcha croissants and yuzu tarts. With a commitment to using local and organic ingredients, every bite promises freshness and flavor.
Best fresh, flaky croissants 🥐 you can find in Toronto west area, last time I had similar croissants in Paris France 🇫🇷 finally found this French bakery blessing here in Toronto. We are regular to Patisserie 27 and every weekend we get croissants and bakery goods in the morning. Highly recommend if someone is looking for legit French croissants, try it and you will get hock

Consistently excellent pastries/viennoiserie made fresh with classic French techniques and precision. This is a well-loved spot for us locals, so on weekends you may need to go early to ensure they're not sold out of your favourites...but even if they are, everything is delicious here! The fougasse bread is so good that it rarely lasts me more than a day. The macarons are spot-on for texture, taste, and flavour. Their delicious, buttery, flaky layers of pastry with a good coffee is a combination that is pretty hard to beat. Enjoy!

i’ve been waiting to try this place for a while and im glad i finally did. the treats are amazing and the croissants have amazing texture. loved the macarons and tiramisu. i would not say this place is authentically french though. parking was ok on the nearby street

LOVE everything every single time that I have been there. Real crunchy french croissants. I got so excited about it that I never have a chance to think about taking pictures before I them all

The deserts are divine! The prices are great! The best tiramissu! Flan cake is to die for! The savoury pastry are a sin! Very consistent! My special treat place to go to ! Thank you !

Finally got to try this place after a friends recommendation and wow! The pastries are so fresh and the scent of fresh baked goods is mouth watering. Their chocolate croissant made me feel like I was back in Paris!

My partner and I love patisserie 27! We think it's the best bakery in Toronto. The beer cheddar croissants are craving causing good. I was especially wowed by the fabulous cake you baked for my partner's 40th birthday... it was perfect for the occasion and was so delish, not a piece was left over! Thank you for putting your heart into what you do! You are what we look forward to most weekend mornings. Ps. We do spike your cappuccinos with Baileys ;)

Incredible chocolate almond croissant. My new favorite in the city. The place is small, but they offer a lot. Very nice, I assume, owners. Only take debit or cash, so come prepared. Not a lot of seats, but every time we've come on the weekend in the morning, we had a place to sit. It's a must visit bakery!

Fleur du Jour is a charming French patisserie located on St. Clair West, founded by the husband-and-wife team Clara McBride and Riane Georges Ikiouane in 2017. The shop exudes an authentic French vibe with its minimal interior design and commitment to quality pastries.
This coffee shop has the best almond croissant! It's perfectly flaky, with delicious almond filling. A great place to relax and enjoy a treat! Will definitely come back to try more of their pastries and coffee!

Love this place and I went every day when I lived next door. The owner is from France and their croissants are the best. Their coffee drinks are lovely as well. This place sells out fast even though they really don’t have much of a selection and that’s why I gave it not a five star and the ambiance is lacking as well.

Smashing IT! ☕🥐☕ My goodness why did I wait so long to try this place out! Hands down, there's no denying the best French Pastries in Toronto! This amazing and unassuming cute little pastry shop is serving up some of the most amazing and the most authentic French pastries and delicious cakes. Everything is made fresh, simple good quality ingredients as it should, and the moment you bite into any of their many pastries your taste buds will be lit up and you're just going to want to jump up for joy! Because you've finally found that bakery that knows a thing or two about baking the proper pastry. The coffee is amazing as well! So if you're in the neighbourhood drop on off to Fleur du Jour and try as many pastries as you can, trust me you will be so deliciously delighted!

This little pastry shop on St Clair is worthy of legend. Every day they open at around the same time, but it varies a little - it’s dependent on the croissants are ready - which varies a little with the weather. They don’t have a close time - they close when they sell out. If you have a bit of time, try the Brietto - it’s a croissant toasted with Brie, prosciutto and a cheesy creamy filling, absolutely delicious! In the morning they offer a wide variety of French pastries - from the classic croissant to sweet delights with berries, pears and other delicious fresh fruit. The only reason they don’t have them in the afternoon is because they sell out by then! In the afternoon they have divine mousse cakes in several flavors - the Rocher and the Cassis Vanilla are incredible. We keep coming back not just for the food - the owner and staff are always welcoming and makes us feel at home! Pricing is reasonable, but payment is cash or debit only (no credit).
Jessica P — Google review
If you're looking for authentic (yet unique) French patisserie in an unpretentious setting, this is it. Everything is freshly baked and delicious. The staff is courteous and responsive and the owner/baker is delightful. Stop in for the Brietto (croissant with brie and prosciutto) and a coffee. Bring home some apple, raspberry or mixed fruit tarts. Everything a real treat!
David S — Google review
I stopped in for a pastry and iced latte. The coffee was good and the pear pastry was very good if a bit floppy due to the lack of a/c on a hot and humid day. The experience was hurt by the flat to the point of rude staff person. It's as if they are trying to be a poster child for the Gen Z stare. People are who they are, but this shop could improve on customer service and the interior environment and it would get an easy 5 stars from me.
B S — Google review
The croissant was excellent; very fresh and tasty. The coffee was good. There is a bit of seating inside. My only issue is that the coffees aren't priced right. How is a cortado and a macchiato the same price as a cappuccino. $5 is much above market price for these drinks with significantly less milk.
Dave — Google review
It's a hole-in-the-wall type of place with the price point of a posh cafe. Croissant was on point. Unfortunately, that's about it. Worst cappuccino I've had in years. It tasted like something poured from a random gas station overnight pot. Service was lukewarm at best. The atmosphere is like an university co-op.

Emmer, located on Harbord Street in Toronto, has quickly become a local favorite for its delectable sourdough bread, croissants, and pastries. The bakery's signature Sourdough Bread is a must-try with its chewy crust and pillowy inside. Owner Philip Haddad's dedication to perfecting his craft is evident in the array of viennoiserie, peanut buttermiso cookies, and bacon butty sandwiches offered at the shop.
Sausage roll: delicious, I love a savoury pastry so this one is it! The sausage itself had a really good flavour and pastry was so flaky. Mouthwatering. Pistachio croissant: reading the reviews, it's really hard to get ahold of but got one at 9:30am on a Saturday. I enjoyed it, filling was perfect amount of sweetness and the crusted pistachio was beautiful and crunchy. Glad I tried it but for $10, I don't think I'd get it again. Sausage Breakfast sandwich: delicious, must be the same sausage they use in the sausage roll. English muffin was nicely toasted and the hot sauce was a nice touch! Chocolate chip cookie was good, but for the price I wouldn't get it again. Bit of a pricier spot, but the pastries are good and service in the patio was friendly.
Lilian — Google review
Emmer is truly next-level. I had the best croissant I’ve ever tasted — and that’s coming from someone who’s had them in France and New York. Everything we tried was phenomenal, from the pastries to the perfectly spiced chai. The customer service was just as impressive — warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. It was all so good, I couldn’t leave without buying a T-shirt to rep Emmer in the Caribbean. A must-visit for any pastry lover in Toronto! Thank you so much Emmer team.
Heather M — Google review
This bakery is quite underwhelming. The croissant I tried was far from impressive. The plain croissant had a nice crispy exterior, the inside was nearly raw. The Shakshuka Brioche was disappointing as well as it resembled a pizza more than anything else, completely masking the flavor of the eggs. Overall, my experience here was poor, especially considering the quality of other bakeries I've visited. I will not be returning.
Jamal S — Google review
This is one of my favorite bakery that you must try! Their croissants are simply amazing. Plain croissant is great but my personal favorite is pistachio croissant! However, it only comes out at specific time so please make sure to check their website or Instagram prior to your visit. You also can't pay for specific bakery in advance. You have to be there at the right exact time! I know it is troublesome but I guarantee you that if you are pistachio lover and serious about top notch bakery, this is the place!
Harry P — Google review
Update: We came back earlier in the morning, and got to try some new stuff. I highly suggest coming early to get the pistachio croissant (limit 2 per customer). —— This is one of those places that everyone seems knows about in Toronto. Didn’t know what to try so we got a giant sesame bread (delicious and enormous), a chocolate chip cookie 🍪❤️, a dark chocolate croissant 🥐🥰 and a piece of strawberry snacking cake (loved the name). There’s still so much to try so we will be back 💯
Robyn D — Google review
Best pistachio croissant in the city, and I’ve tasted many. Great texture and I love that there’s not a lot of pistachio cream in the middle. Also had the breakfast egg muffin and it was delish. Homemade sausage patty was juicy and flavourful. They have outdoor seating so you can actually eat there.
Aileen L — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal! I have to admit that these are some of the best pastries I’ve ever had in my lifetime. The blueberry cream danish was heavenly, the sausage rolls were delicious and the perfect size, and the ham and leek quiche was so buttery and delicious. Our group would have continued to order more items from the menu if we had the stomach room for it. Flat whites were a perfect addition to the pastries. The covered patio outside was so lovely and relaxing. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend- get here early.. you won’t regret it. 🥰

🥐 Pistachio Croissant (Second Batch @ 12:45pm Saturday): Finally got my hands on it! Topped generously with crushed pistachios — visually satisfying. But I personally prefer the one from Ottawa where the filling is denser, almost like a soft mung bean cake — smooth and rich. Emmer’s version had less filling than expected. 🌰 Almond Croissant – Pretty standard. Might’ve been a bit cold, so it didn’t wow me. Just okay. 🍯 Cinnamon Morning Bun – Quite sweet, but nothing surprising. A bit underwhelming overall. ✨ If you’re going, the pistachio croissant is still worth chasing! Just make sure to check what time the second batch comes out.

Bakery
Tasso is a small, cash-only bakery known for its delectable pastries and expertly brewed coffee. The shop operates on a limited schedule, typically open only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings with a tendency to sell out quickly. To secure their sought-after treats, customers must place online orders in advance for Saturday pickup between 10:30 am and noon.
Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! If this place had a storefront, I would indulge in their butter croissants daily. Their croissants are ultra-light and crispy, with a flakiness like a shedding tree in autumn. The interior structure is a work of art, with a perfect amount of airiness that somehow delivers a powerful punch of butteriness in each bite. Their kouign amann is equally addicting but with a spiral shape, that makes it more fun to savour its crisp bottom of caramelized sugar that's not too sweet. Also got their Chausson aux Pommes - the same buttery, flaky and light puff pastry, with a perfect amount of savoriness and strong butter aroma on its own, and a beautiful golden brown colour. The apples were too soft imo and felt like they lacked cinnamon or any caramelization, but were decently tart and sweet with an apple aroma, and the filling-to-pastry ratio was quite generous, although I would've preferred more pastry honestly to balance out the ratios because all you can taste is apple in some bites.

The shop that has been on my Toronto to-do-list for years and finally got the chance to try. You won’t be disappointed by these pastries given their good quality ingredients and flavors. Based on personal experience, the pre-order will become available on their website around noon on every Thursday for pick up on that Saturday between 10:30 and 12:30

Crispiest and most buttery croissants! Similar quality as croissants in Montreal. Short line at 10:20 am. Will come back!

They have the best baked goods. The best croissant you’ll find in the city.

It took me years to finally try this place due to once a week, only two hours opening window. It was worth it! Realized how much pastries taste so much better when they were still warm. Cannot even remember when was the last time I had warm croissant. It was so buttery, soft & flaky. Orange Cardamom Kouign Amann. Very different than any other kouign Amann. There is not much crispy caramelization on top. Still warm with flaky layers covered with/orange peel & cardamom. What a great combo! Cinnamon bun was not typical cinnabon style buns that would be covered with icing which was even better. Loved the quality of dark chocolate in Pain Au Chocolates as well Don’t know when I can make it to that two hours pick up time frame on Saturday, but if you can preorder and try them!
Ok S — Google review
Their croissant is INDEED REALLY NICE! It flakes very well, has great honeycomb structure, and is pretty light. The flavor is on the slightly saltier side, which matches my personal preference. The dough is a little bit chewy and has elasticity, which is also what I would prefer a croissant to be like. The only downside is the outside being quite oily, but all the other aspects of the croissant are great. I’m looking forward to trying out their chocolate croissant!

Incomparable in every way with a definitive taste of excellence, Tasso's croissants are the best in Toronto. While at times it seems impossible to place an order, with dedication and loyalty you will find a way like I have. I cannot imagine a Saturday morning without croissants from Tasso. These beautiful and delicious pastries are pure joy, luxury, and a tasting experience all in one and they make amazing gifts for people who have yet to try them. Over the year, I have diversified my weekly orders to try other baked goods from Tasso, which my family and friends have throughly enjoyed, but the croissants keep me coming back for more and will continue to for years to come.

My favourite butter croissant in Toronto! Though it does require a bit of work, I assure you it's worth it. To secure this delicious treat, you must preorder the pastries days in advance for a two-hour pick-up window on Saturday. From the perfectly flaky exterior to the buttery and rich interior, this croissant is truly a masterpiece.

Bakery
Blackbird Baking Co. in Kensington Market and Riverside offers a delightful array of baked goods, including baguettes, bread loaves, cakes, tarts, and buns. The principal owner and chef, Simon Blackwell, comes from a long line of family bakers and specializes in hand-crafted sourdough that is slow-fermented to perfection. This bakery has become a staple in Toronto's bread scene since its opening in 2014.
Best bakery in town, love their Cannelle, Croissant and chocolate cork. Mari was very gentle and kind with us.
Allan G — Google review
The bread at Blackbird has its own flavour, their subtle yet unique taste will fill your nose from a block away. My nose always pulls me back in, I can’t just walk by their tiny storefront! I love the wide variety of breads, we’ve tried many new types but my favourite remains the focaccia. My dad loves the sourdough ryes, my mom loves the pastries and my sister is on my team, team focaccia. I often stock up and bring bread when I go visit my fam. It freezes well but you’ll have to slice any unsliced loaves yourself. It is a little on the pricey side and they stopped making my favourite focaccia (pecorino) almost a year ago but it remains on the menu which makes me hopeful and then disappointed every time I go. The original taste is owed to the sourdough starter that’s been a family heirloom of sorts. Mad respect. Make sure you go earlier in the day if you have a specific or tall order as some breads sell out and they’re all made early in the morning.
Tyne G — Google review
oh my god these pastries were delectable. We went early on a Monday morning, and while a lot of the neighboring stores were closed, the smell of fresh pastries really drew us in. I had the pesto tomato pastry and also the almond croissant. Both were so fresh, flaky, and full of great flavor. This might have been the best almond croissant I’ve ever had. Loved it

Delicious baked goods in an interesting neighborhood! I had a drip coffee and a kouign-amann. As soon as I finished my pastry I wanted another. Definitely stop by if you are in Toronto and take a stroll around Kensington Market. Seating is limited but was no problem for us when we arrived shortly after opening on a Saturday.

Ordered an apple pastry from here and it was affordable and very very delicious! I thought they were Amish but nope they just make good pastries. I wish the place was bigger though so i could lounge, work, and savor the baked goods... but other than that, all was perfect.

Chocolate croissant wasn't as flaky as I'd like. The danishes were well made but a tad sweet.

This bakery is special. You can tell it is loved by the locals for the wide selection of fresh breads but it’s worth a stop as a visitor for the pastries. The buckwheat financiers are exceptional. An excellent lemon tart, and viennoiserie as well.

Updated , I’m glad to hear that . Thank you for your response. I’ll visit again on the weekend. ======================== The multigrain bread is fresh and soft. Even though I ate it right after buying, I noticed quite a bit of stale smell and aftertaste. I’m curious if there’s a particular reason for using a lot of preservatives. I’d appreciate it if you could share the reason in the comments.

I’ve been going here for years and it has never disappointed me. I love the monthly ice cream flavours and they are gorgeous!! The food was amazing. The waffles were so light but also the perfect texture. The syrup was also super light and enjoyable. I recommend everyone to come here

Absolutely loved our visit to Butter Baker! 💛 I brought my mom to try their new menu, and we were both blown away. I had the Baker’s Breakfast — eggs, crispy potatoes, and toast — all perfectly cooked and super comforting. My mom tried the yuzu chicken and waffles, and let me tell you… those waffles were the best! Gluten-free, buttery, and perfectly crispy — she loved every bite. We also got to try their desserts: the caramel apple butter waffles were warm, cozy, and delicious, plus a slice of their house-baked banana bread that disappeared in seconds. To finish, we had the berry and custard soft serve, which we devoured even though we were full — totally worth it. We also enjoyed drinks — I had an iced matcha latte, and my mom got a hojicha latte. Both were smooth and flavorful. The food, drinks, and cozy vibes make this spot a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back! 🧇🍵🍦

We visited here for a Saturday brunch here and had an amazing time. The moment you enter through the market door, you’re fascinated with all the beautiful handcrafted local goodies. From jewelry, candles, party decorations to home decor and kitchen accessories, they have many cute options. Their café menu includes many great options from brunch menu to desserts and drinks. They have so many unique and creative cakes, waffles and brunch options. We ordered “Grilled Chorizo Croissant Benedict” and “Spicy Chicken Waffle” from brunch menu, “Mango Waffles & Crème” and “Raspberry & Pistachio Cake Slice” from the desserts menu and finally “Mocha” and “Matchamisu Cold Foam” from drinks menu. Everything was fresh and tasty. The spicy chicken waffle was the great combination of Korean fried chicken and waffles. The Grilled Chorizo Croissant Benedict was unique and flavourful. The Raspberry & Pistachio Cake Slice was one of the best cakes I have ever had; perfect level of sweetness. Mocha was beautifully designed and matchamisu was very creative. The staff are very friendly and make sure you have the best experience.

This is one of my favourite brunch spots in the city! Their chicken & waffles is my go to order & we love that we can end our meal off with a sweet treat. Their monthly soft serve is a must but their seasonal waffles with vanilla gelato is great. For fall, we tried the caramel apple butter waffle which was divine. The service is always great!

I first tried the shoft serve over the summer and was immediately obsessed. When I found out they have a cafe and brunch options I had to visit! The waffles are absolutely incredible. I tried both the savoury and sweet options. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Will definitely be back to try more!

finally tried some brunch at butter baker, I’ve had their ice cream of the month before but wanted to try the food. we both got waffles - one savoury and one sweet and the waffles themselves were honestly very mid, not too fluffy or soft. the strawberry topping was also nothing special on the sweet ones. I got the honey garlic chicken and waffles and they used a mix of white and dark meat for the kaarage which was good, as well as the flavours of this together. the stand out were the fried potato home fries as a side. they were soo perfectly crispy and seasoned, they hit really well. and the ketchup had a certain tang to it too - would have those again. I also had the mango lassi ice cream flavour in a cup and it was so refreshing and creamy and tasty. a 10/10 on the mango.
Brianna M — Google review
I had the strawberry frozen yogurt soft serve. It was a mix of strawberry and vanilla with freeze dried strawberries sprinkled on it. It was absolutely the best soft serve I've ever had in my life. I spent the entire time eating in total shock over how amazing it was. They rotate the flavours monthly. I'm going to go back every month to try whatever the current flavour is. I went back and got June's flavour, Pina colada. Also excellent but not quite as perfect as the strawberry was. July's blueberry and panna cotta was also exceptional. August's Mango Lassi was good as expected but maybe not as strong as the previous month's. I think it might be better to get just the mango instead of the swirl with frozen yogurt. Also the mango falls off very easily, so make sure you eat that right away! The sidewalk outside is covered in mango slices that fell off people's cones. Septembers' passion fruit, orange, guava mixed with vanilla is excellent as expected. Super fresh and fruity tropical taste. This might be one where you skip the mix and get just the fruit flavour. November's apple pie was excellent! I also tried a double chocolate cookie which was good, but nothing exceptional.

Le Génie Bakery & Espresso is a trendy French patisserie located in Toronto, offering a delectable selection of modern French pastries made fresh daily on-site. The bakery boasts an array of sweet and savory croissants, along with a small assortment of tarts. Visitors highly recommend the Almond Croissant and Pain au Chocolat for an indulgent treat. While the prices are on the higher end, patrons find that the quality justifies the cost.
I’m always satisfied every time I visit! Their pastries have such a unique taste perfectly crunchy with rich, delicious fillings. It’s truly one of my favorite spots in the city. If there’s one thing they could improve, it would be the seating and overall ambiance. A more inviting setting would make the experience even better, but the quality of the pastries keeps me coming back.

Prepare to spend money here. The quality and appearance of the croissants, Danishes and cakes can justify the high price. Le Genie is on everyone list if you are looking for good croissant in Toronto. And they end up to be right. Yes all the bake goods are expensive here. Croissants are huge, bigger than my hand. Shell is crispy and the structure is airy and soft. I think if the Pistachio filling is thicker, it might be even better. Very seldom I had a barista ask me what kind of coffee bean do I like for my coffee. Attention to detail and customer service is top notch here.
FriedChicken — Google review
Desserts were pretty good. 🍰The strawberry cake was nice with some frozen fruit in the middle. The pistachio one was yummy and had custard inside. The egg tart had a nice vanilla flavor but the crust was a bit hard for me. The coffee was just okay, nothing too special. Still a chill spot to hang out and enjoy some sweets.

Just minutes away from the College subway station, I thought to visit this cafe on Sunday evening. Tried their almond croissant and almond milk cappuccino. Loved the croissant, flaky and filled with delicious filling. Its size was also bigger than a general croissant. Cappuccino was also decent and the atmosphere was chill. Collge has many good cafes and this is surely one of them.

I love their croissants!! The plain croissant is their best one but the almond croissant is also delicious. Everything you see in the picture was incredible, including that hazelnut cake. Whenever friends of family visit Toronto, this is the place I take them for croissants. They also serve savoury sandwiches. Their coffee is not as enjoyable, the beans they have don’t taste great but otherwise this is a great place to have a good plain croissant.

Best pastry in Toronto, expensive but not overpriced because you get what you pay for, pastries and croissants are INSANELY GOOD! I’ve been once and I can’t wait to go back! Can’t believe I live so close to it and it’s the first time I go because of an Instagram reel. I had no idea it was that good.

Enjoyed a peaceful breakfast at Le Genie bright and early at 7:45 on a weekday. When you walk in you can immediately smell the fresh baked croissants! However, because these are all freshly baked, this early in the morning some of their pastries are still being prepared and not on their display shelf yet. But if you know exactly what you want (ie one of the flavoured croissants), they will specially make one for you before all the other pastries are ready! I enjoyed the pistachio croissant - it was unexpectedly huge and made the price ($7.99) feel more worth it compared to other Toronto places. You can definitely tell the croissant was fresh too! However I wish the cream inside tasted more like pistachio. I also got the iced matcha latte! I was told they started offering a premium grade (for $0.50 charge) which is 8.0 compared to their regular 6.0 matcha. Ask for none or only a little sweetener and you can definitely taste the quality difference. The patio is also a beautiful place to sit and enjoy in the morning as you watch people walk by. Would come by again to try more pastries!

THE BEST pastry place I went to in Toronto 🥐🙈 I love all the pastry I bought (pictures provided) blueberry one is tangy and bit sour but the blueberry makes it bit of a sweet taste to it! (The blueberries are huge and fresh) dulce de pecan taste nutty and creamy! One of my favourite and it’s huge and the price is all spot on! Pistachio financier was a bit sweet because of the sugar glaze 😌 I also ordered coffee and it was also very delicious 😋 prices are lower than the other aesthetic French pastry place where they don’t even taste that good compared to this place! This quickly became one of the best bakeries I’ve been to in the city. The mini banana bread is so good and made with milk chocolate chips. The americano was fantastic and priced well. Super busy and line up formed before opening, has a patio. Love this place!

I’ve been really into croissant sandwiches lately, so I searched around and found this place. They had two kinds of sandwiches, and we went with the Brie, turkey, and pear — it was delicious! I loved that it wasn’t drenched in sauce, and I honestly didn’t know Brie and turkey could pair so well together. We also tried the chocolate croissant, and it was one of the least greasy, most beautifully layered croissants I’ve had. Such a nice surprise! For coffee, I ordered a cortado — it was a bit on the lighter side, not the richer, milk-light version I usually expect, but still enjoyable. Staff were reasonably friendly, and there’s no Wi-Fi here. All in all, it’s definitely a place I’d like to come back to.

I wanted to go to Sumach express first but it was crowded so i thought maybe i should give this place a shot looking at their Google reviews. Their coffee is really good. Croissants, umm slightly priced on the higher end for me but what can we do. Not bad. Can’t say worth it with the taxes. But ambience is good. Service is warm, friendly and really welcoming!

When I first stumbled upon Nadege on Queen West in 2010, I had no idea I was about to walk into a place that would become so much more than a pastry shop to me. Back then, it felt like a breath of fresh air—a modern, clean haven offering a dazzling variety of delicious creations. I quickly learned that the magic behind it all was Nadège Nourian, a fourth-generation French pastry chef from Lyon. Knowing her family's rich history made every bite feel like a connection to a long, beautiful tradition of craftsmanship. Over the years, this place has become a constant in my life. It's where I go for the intricate layers of the Marie Antoinette cake, a true masterpiece of flavour and texture. The individual donut cakes are a sweet, delightful indulgence, and the canelés—my absolute must-have—are a perfect symphony of crispy, caramelized shell and soft, custardy center. They are the simple, elegant pastries I always return to, a little taste of perfection every time. But Nadege is more than just pastries. It’s a wonderful spot for a light breakfast, a quick snack, or a delicious small sandwich. It has been a quiet witness to so many moments, both big and small, in my life. Every visit feels like coming home, and with each canelé, I'm reminded of the simple joy of discovering something truly special. It’s a place that not only satisfies my cravings but also touches my heart with its unwavering commitment to beauty and flavour.

Nadège Patisserie is the kind of place that makes you pause mid-stride on Queen Street, as though the universe just whispered, “Yes, you deserve a treat today.” The moment you step in, you’re greeted not just by pastries, but by an atmosphere that hums quietly with intention — polished, deliberate, and effortlessly chic. The gleam of the glass cases, the careful arrangement of mini cakes and macarons, the soft clink of spoons against ceramic teacups — it all feels like a small, delicious theater. Every pastry is a performance. The croissants are flaky, buttery crescendos that yield in layers with a whisper, the macarons are jewel-like, pastel oases of almond and ganache, and the cannelés — oh, the cannelés — they are caramelized, tender little cylinders that somehow manage to be both humble and transcendent. Each bite feels like it’s been choreographed for maximum delight, and you find yourself pausing to savor the artistry before diving in again. If you’re seeking a patisserie that feels both intimate and grand, playful and precise, Nadège is it. Pop in for a single macaron or plan an afternoon around a tiered mini cake indulgence — either way, you’ll leave feeling that the world is a little sweeter, and maybe a little more beautiful, than it was when you walked in.

Nadège Patisserie is a dream! We had a danish and the most incredible lemon tart, both were absolutely delicious. A must-visit for pastry lovers!
Bia L — Google review
The cheesecake tasted really off, almost sour like it was about to go bad. Macarons also tasted old, like they’ve been sitting for days. For more than $40 you’d expect some quality. Wouldn’t even eat this if I got it for free. Used to love this spot. Yikes
Robert A — Google review
The place has maintained very high standards for food. I’ve always loved to drop a visit at Nadége because of their amazing croissants. Surprisingly, today I was told by the hardworking team that the payment policies of Nadége have changed and that they don’t accept cash any further. But as per my request, they did make an exception and I truly appreciated their support. I wish there was a different rating option for staff so I could rate them good. But for the restaurant, I think they’re degrading their customer experience by removing a 100% Legal Tender - Cash in their payment policies. This indirectly shows that they do not value the customers who want to pay through cash instead of debit / credit cards. Some people don’t want the big corporates (Banks) to handle their hardworking money, which is completely fair and sensible. I do also understand that it’s legal for private business owners to make their own payment policies. A big wrong move by Nadége in my opinion. I don’t know what was the idea behind this, but doesn’t seem a good one.

Stopped by Le Gourmand for coffee and dessert, and it hit the mark completely. The iced Americano was strong but smooth — exactly what you want on a slow afternoon — and the Basque cheesecake was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Highly recommended and would definitely return when visiting Toronto again!

They changed their pancake and French toast prices right after a famous food influencer posted about them. I was shocked to see my bill for one pancake came to $28.58. This coffee shop is hands down one of my favorite places! I come here almost every day, and it’s always such a great experience. The coffee is consistently amazing, but what really keeps me coming back is the food and pastries. Everything is made fresh daily, and you can taste the quality in every bite. The croissants are perfectly flaky, the sandwiches are flavorful and filling, and the desserts are absolutely delicious …it’s hard to choose a favorite! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to sit and enjoy your food or get some work done. The best part? The baristas here are all so kind and welcoming. Rahier Patisserie is a charming patisserie located in Leaside, Toronto, offering a delightful selection of delicate French pastries and fruit tarts. The Amelie and Clementine cakes are particularly eye-catching with their vibrant colors and are available in various sizes for both individual indulgence or group gatherings.
One of my favourite patisseries in Toronto. I have been enjoying their delectable pastries, cookies, tarts, and cakes for almost 2 decades now. Quality products with consistency you can rely on. It's a shame I live across the city from them, otherwise I would be there quite often! 😅

I ordered a hot chocolate and was displeased with a couple things 1. They use actual hard pieces of chocolate, which they steam together with the milk. The barista poured the milk into the cup and then plopped the leftover chocolate gunk from the bottom of the steam pitcher, which then they had to mix again in my cup. Leaving me with a chunky drink …yum 2. I didn’t even receive a cup filled all the way . I ordered a large size, and paid over $6. The person a head of me received their drink and had theirs filled to the brim, but my drink was left with about 2 inches of room on top. In the end I’m just disappointed that I paid the amount I did for the quality I received.

Charged for the plaque on my own birthday cake after being told it was free when I ordered it. Definitely not the best customer experience. Response: Since you insist on technicalities, you are correct. You told my father that it was of no charge because he paid ahead of time. Had it been the situation you described, when I came to pick up the cake you wouldn't have insisted that I pay for the plaque. Suffice to say, you have lost our business over $1.95.

Very friendly and cozy patisserie shop that serves a very tasty coffee. The cakes and cookies are die for! Recommend to all!

I had Rahier on my list to visit for some time and had the opportunity recently. I have mixed feelings on the visit. The items were good. The madeleine and cappuccino that I had were tasty but not the premium quality I expected given the reviews on G Maps. The pastry items (as agreed on by my friend) were good. However, the drinks are massively overrated. I would recommend passing on the cappuccino as it tastes flat and less quality than say a Sbucks cappuccino, which are standard comparison points. For a coconut filled pastry and my small cappuccino (small cup half full) I paid 7.56, for comparison. It's competitive for the area but the taste is only okay. I would recommend a visit if in the area but it is not a top selection for either french pastries or coffee drinks.

Not a big shop but has such fabulous pastries. There is a small patio at front for you to sit and enjoy. The small individual cakes are more costly but good for special occasions. They display so well on the table.

I found this place thanks to Too Good To Go and I'm so glad I did! The store is amazing and seems like it's one of the most popular stores in the area. I picked up 5 croissants (Too Good To Go) and a box of marzipan sweets (just very tempted to try)! Will be back for more. :)

Duo Pâtisserie & Café is a stylish venue that offers a variety of treats, including Black Forest gateau and brioche, which are perfectly paired with their selection of coffees. This French café with a Japanese twist is known for its classic French desserts infused with a unique Japanese flair. The bakery specializes in creating various chocolates, cakes, and viennoiseries.
It's been a long time since I had seen and tasted the abundance of pastries displayed in this store. So many pastries, so little time to eat them all. For nostalgia I bought 6 of their mouth watering ones as it was no tax. So I purchased 2x apple, 2x peach, 2x almond crossants. Their pastries surpass even some of the stores that I've been to in Toronto. The filling for some of them were ok but the ones to try was the one with the apple filling. The crust was layered to perfection like in Paris and the sweetness was subtle with the addition of thinly sliced apples. Overall, a nice place to get wonderful pastries and cakes. I will try their cakes next time as it was too tempting.

It's been many years since I've last been to Duo, but it's still as good and clean and refreshing inside. We got the Claire and Virgo, as they were one of the few without nuts and whose flavours appealed to me. Both were tasty and i loved the apple pieces in Claire. The Virgo had a strong coffee flavour that was too much for me but people who drink coffee would appreciate. Definitely will be back to try other pastries but i am a bit disappointed that almost all their products have nuts in it, so I can really only try a few things. Otherwise great experience!

I tried the mango cake and a box of chocolates here and both were really good. The mango cake was definitely my favorite as the fruit tasted super fresh, the cream was light and smooth, and it was not overly sweet. You can tell they use good ingredients. The chocolates were also excellent with a nice variety of flavors and a rich clean finish. The café itself has a really cozy and relaxing vibe. It is the kind of place you can easily spend an afternoon chatting with friends or just enjoying a quiet coffee break. Everything is nicely presented and the staff are friendly too. Prices are a bit on the higher side for the portion sizes but the quality makes up for it. Overall a great spot for dessert and coffee if you want to treat yourself or catch up with friends in a chill atmosphere.

Absolutely loved this place! The moment I walked in, I knew I was in dessert heaven. The display cases are filled with the most elegant and mouthwatering pastries and chocolates — it was almost impossible to choose. I ended up trying a few of the pastries and grabbed a cake that looked too good to pass up. The space is a bit small but clean, and welcoming, with a calm atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. I also appreciated the unique selection of beautifully packaged treats. The staff were super helpful and patient, even with a line forming. It’s clear that everything is made with love and precision. This is definitely one of those places you tell your friends about. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

This is basically heaven for a sweet lover. First time going here and I didn't want to leave!! They have a wide assortment of baked goods and cakes and treats. The store is clean and well organized. I love how they have an assortment of individually wrapped treats that you can load up into a basket to buy. Everything is worth trying. I did not regret any of my choices. This is definitely a place I would visit every weekend because they have so many items to try! A must visit!!

A friend got us delicious treats from Duo on a few different occasions and their baked goods and the assorted pastries are decadent and delicious!! Love the flavour combos in the treats like mango cheesecake, raspberry and chocolate, and pistachio, and the fig Danish. Their croissants are fresh too.

Beautiful cafe with a variety of desserts and pastries. I went with the matcha canelé. The outside was crunchy, inside spongy, and had a nice strong matcha flavor. The honey oat latte was delicious as well. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy, making it pretty loud and difficult to hear the person talking in front of you.

Very good French bakery with legit croissants and pain au chocolat and other French pastries / cakes, just like in France ! You can also have brunch there. And their hot chocolate is really good. The proper kind with real chocolate and milk. They also have amazing gâteau basque, which is rare to find in Toronto. They come in small and large cake size.

heating up the croissants at home before consuming is definitely serving these croissants right! they are so good and crunchy in the right spots, nothing beats a good laminated croissant. i tried out two slices of quiches, and they do not disappoint! so yummy and just the right flavour, not heavy at all, and the crust hold everything together. such a lovely shop, you could really taste the love in the food from the makers.

Sweet and simple setting. Parisienne feel. A fresh baguette of perfect texture with delicious butter and apricot jam hit the spot, accompanied by an excellent coffee. Several classic lunch choices on the menu. I was more in the mood for baked goods. Took away an apricot Danish. Yummy. Not overly sweet. The lady in charge really cares about her customers. This is such an amazing coffee shop!! There are so many beans to choose from and the baked goods are delicious!! The staff is also very friendly! I loved the Cherry Bomb House Blend Iced Americano and the Breakfast Cookie is one of the best I’ve ever had. The Blueberry Maple muffin was also really good. There’s not a lot of seating so I recommend stopping by while out for a walk. There is a handful of stools inside and a few chairs outside to sit at.

This visit we just had coffee. I had a delicious hot flat white. And my companion had an iced vanilla latte I believe. Both were delicious. I usually have a little flavoured sweetener in my coffee at home just a touch just to take away the bitterness. But this coffee did not need anything. It was smooth and full bodied, but not overpowering. Not bitter at all. It was delicious! And they put a cute little design in my foam. Next time we will have to try some of those baked goods that looked amazing! We sat at the window and just people watched while we enjoyed our delicious bevvies.

Just visited the shop yesterday (Saturday) morning. It was busy but the good kind. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly. The open kitchen concept is really neat as you get to see the staff working on some menu items (which were delicious!). The Flat White and Americano my wife and I had tasted smooth and flavourful. We will definitely stop by again next time we’re in the neighborhood.

Every single Sunday (and many Saturdays too) we drive from the very opposite end of the city just to enjoy Cherry Bomb coffee and their awesome croissants and scones. Their lattes are my favourite, and their croissants are the most delicious that I’ve had outside of Nice, France.

Brahhhh. I always stop by here if I’m in the roncy area because I remember how good the croissants are, but then as soon as I walk in I’m reminded why I hate this place. The staff are beyond the worst. Imagine going in there full of joy ready to chow down on some delicious baked goods and then you lock eyes with a barista who looks like they’re plotting their revenge on you from a past encounter where you really hurt their feelings or, like, stole their significant other. Anyway, there are other decent places in the city where can get a fancy croissant where the staff won’t make you ask the question “why do you hate me so much?”

I recently visited this branch and had a somewhat mixed experience. We ordered coffee and a cappuccino along with some cakes, and while the food quality stood out, there were areas that could be improved. The cakes were absolutely delicious—rich, fresh, and bursting with flavor. They were definitely the highlight of the visit. The croissants and other baked goods looked tempting as well, making it a good spot for a quick treat. However, the coffee was fairly average and didn’t stand out as anything special. The service, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown. The staff member who served us wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. While not outright rude, it seemed like they lacked the professionalism and warmth that make a customer feel valued. Overall, this place is good for a quick coffee and cake stop, especially if you’re craving something sweet. However, better customer service and more attention to detail with the coffee could elevate the experience.

Nice coffee shop with an interesting selection of pastries. There are some unique flavours of croissants but all slightly on a higher price range. The coffee and the matcha latte were great. The place can definitely use some dusting as there were plenty of spider webs around all the ceiling lights!

Delicious, creative looking pastries. I had the Vietnamese coffee croissant. There is a little squeeze container of condensed milk. Very flavorful inside with the chocolate. Not overly sweet. However, the croissant was dry and might have been more than a day old. I would like to try their Basque cheesecake next. Drinks, it's essentially Chatime w/ pastries. Place has ample seating at the time of day we went. Tables weren't being wiped down but otherwise, not super dirty. It has a modern cafe look inside. I've been here when it has been busy, so it depends. Don't expect to park in the area.

Wowowowow! They have some really unique pastries. Got the honey croissant, (kinjaki?) Swiss roll, and chocolate walnut croissant. All absolutely amazing and definitely strays away from your typical ordinary flavours. Although I won't lie, it can get quite pricey, but I think for the quality and uniqueness it's not too too bad. I wanted to try the croissant swirls but I'm guessing you'll have to come earlier as they were sold out after 9pm. Also they do some deals like no tax if you buy 6 pastries or buy 5 get 1 free. Might take advantage of that next time. One thing I might request from the owners is to add plastic cutlery and napkins with the order. Also they charge for bags which is normally complimentary at most bakeries which I thought was bizzare.
Jaskarn B — Google review
When I arrived, the place was packed with people, but the staff was quick and respectful while taking orders. They didn’t rush me when I asked about different items. All the pastries were fresh, with a delicate flavor and balanced sweetness. My top recommendation, however, is their cheesecakes. Be sure to give them a try!

Nord Lyon, located on Queen Street West in Toronto, is a charming French bakery and restaurant that opened its doors in November. Despite the challenging circumstances of the Red Zone restrictions, this spot offers a delightful experience with an array of delectable treats made with high-quality French butter. From freshly baked bread and sandwiches to delicate pastries like eclairs and macarons, there's something for every palate. The establishment also serves top-notch coffee to complement the indulgent offerings.
I’ve been to this place a few times and tried several of their pastries, they’ve all been great. I’ve recommended it to a bunch of friends, and they all liked it too. My favorites are the almond croissant and the pistachio croissant. Just a heads up, the pistachio one is really filled, so skip it if you’re not into that. But overall, the texture, crispiness, and flavor of the pastries are consistently excellent. Plus, the variety and freshness here are hard to find anywhere else in DT Toronto. This time, I finally tried their ayce buffet, and I was seriously impressed. Everything was super fresh and hot. They even have an omelette station, you choose what goes in, and they make it for you on the spot. There’s a solid range of protein options like eggs, bacon, beef, sausages, and even cooked fish. For carbs, they’ve got rice, pasta, French toast, and more. Tons of fresh salads and veggie options too. A few types of their signature croissants were available, though I was hoping for a bit more variety on that front. Coffee, orange juice, and hot water were all included. The staff were super friendly and helpful the whole time. Only downside was when I asked for water, there were no clean glasses available, and I had to wait about 10 minutes to get one. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Washrooms were very clean too, which is always a plus.

If you are looking for a heavy chocolate-filled almond croissant, with a chill vibe this is the cafe to check out. The coffee was okay not too great as I had better but there are so many options in the bakery. I opted for a chocolate almond croissant as it looked so tempting. It tasted good, especially the filling, which they take seriously. It has approx 10 tables with a variety of sweet and savory options. I enjoyed my rainy-day coffee. Must visit :)

Stopped by Nord Lyon on Queen St West and had a wonderful experience! The presentation was beautiful - from the elegant tray setup to the gold-toned cutlery, everything felt premium. I had the chocolate-covered pastry bar, which was rich, smooth, and incredibly satisfying. The butter cookies with candied fruit were light, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet - a perfect treat with coffee. The staff were especially warm, attentive, and welcoming, which really made the visit stand out. They took time to explain the options and made the whole experience feel special. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax and indulge in some high-quality desserts with great service and classy vibes!

FOOD (brunch buffet): good variety for the price. There's selection of salad, omelet made to order, pastries, pancake/crepe, pasta and other breakfast food. Everything is good and you can definitely get full from yummy selection. SERVICE: it's a small place but so crowded during weekend. The staffs are really busy so they might forget stuff. VIBE: it's a pastry shop turned into brunch place during weekend. Small and tight area but super crowded. Other than brunch time there're plenty of spots.
Chloe T — Google review
I stepped into Nord Lyon on Queen West with fluttering expectations—after all, I’d heard whispers of buttery croissants that could make your heart sing. My past dalliance with their almond croissant left me… amused, but never enchanted. Today, I was seeking redemption in their famed brunch buffet. Little did I know I was about to be cast as the lead in a culinary tragedy. The first act unfolded at the pastry display: a basket of croissants so sunken and pale they might have been excavated from last week’s leftovers. I bit into one, only to discover the soul‑crushing crunch of cardboard—drier than the Sahara and twice as unforgiving. I cornered a waiter, demanding to know how something “fresh” could taste like a two‑day‑old relic. He smiled apologetically, insisting they’d “just been cut fresh”—a weasel‑worded confession that whatever baking once happened, it certainly didn’t happen today. Act Two brought the buffet’s more theatrical twist: a strict “no waste” rule that threatened a surcharge if plates didn’t emerge spotless. So there I was, gnawing at my lifeless croissant like a condemned man forced to devour his own shroud, all to avoid the sting of an extra charge. Meanwhile, the “pistachio” croissant betrayed me completely—no nutty whisper on the tongue—while the chocolate version offered only a faint echo of ganache, as if the real filling had eloped with better ingredients. Yet every dark hour has its flicker of light: the make‑your‑own omelette station shone like a beacon, and the smoked salmon—a silken slice of brine‑kissed perfection—was a momentary reprieve from this buffet noir. Cakes and tarts lay limp and stale, as though they’d been waiting for a revival that never came, and the crepes collapsed beneath their soggy shame, tasting more like a damp gym towel than a Parisian treat. In a final, bitter curtain call, I glanced around at the cheerful staff, whose warmth felt like a cruel irony against the backdrop of culinary ruin. The décor was elegant, yes—glowing bulbs, polished brass, and potted ferns—but what are pretty surroundings when your taste buds have been betrayed? At CAD 35 a head, with not even a latte to soften the blow, this buffet felt like a heist of my hard‑earned after‑tax dollars. I will never return. Let this be your warning: Nord Lyon’s brunch buffet is a drama of dashed hopes and stale pastries. Don’t let the friendly smiles and gleaming décor fool you—behind the curtain lies a wasteland of cardboard croissants.

This place has been in my List of places to visit for a while now. It’s a small cafe and they have wonderful options for desserts or snacks. Their croissants are so light and crunchy. Their fillings are not too sweet and are delicious. It’s a small cafe so, it might be too crowded or noisy. 100/10 would highly recommend this place.

Got their tiramisu croissant and coconut matcha cloud drink, really enjoyed both! The croissant is delicious, not too sweet and perfect as a snack. The drink was surprisingly good, the matcha foam was thick and flavourful, mixed really well with the coconut water.

I came here on daughter's friend recommendation. Though small the place is easy to find. Tried the matcha strawberry and matcha drink. Matcha is good and rich. The black sesame cake hs rich strong sesame taste. Love it. The matcha rasberry cookie is well balanced. Sourness and sweetness combination and not too sweet. Place is quiet. Good for relaxing morning or afternoon tea time.

I bought a tiramisu from this place today, and when I opened it at home, it had visible mold on the top layer. It was definitely spoiled and unsafe to eat. Really disappointing — desserts like this should be fresh, and basic food safety checks should be taken seriously. I’ll be avoiding this spot going forward and hope they review their storage or quality control processes.

We ordered famous dubai dessert in the cupps with strawberry, kadaif and chocolate and a bit pistachio cream. I wouldnt recommend anyone to try this as it is not only too sweet and intense but also the chocolate is very low quality. Strawberry 🍓 was a good addition but this dessert could have been made better for sure. Instead of chocolate melted could be used maybe chocolate pudding or something else. We chose the smallest size and it was also way too much for one person to finish.
Olivia A — Google review
It was a very cute cafe, very kind staff and good atmosphere. We tried the Dubai chocolate kadayif, and it was a very low quality heavy chocolate and disappointing. They also didn’t mixed enough the kadayif which we noticed it exists towards the end. They have an exciting menu with pistachio in each dessert but need to invest in higher quality chocolate or remove that dessert alltogether!
Sena S — Google review
We came here to try the Dubai chocolate-style strawberry dessert, which is great that they offer in three sizes—small, medium, and large ($7, $9, $11–$12). Honestly, even the small size at $7 is more than enough, as it’s very sweet with rich pistachio and Nutella pastes. The strawberries were fresh, which was a plus. However, we noticed that the strawberries were being cut in front of us without washing them, which was concerning. Additionally, we had to point out to the staff that the pistachio paste on top had been forgotten. They added it. My friend also tried a macaron, which was disappointing—it mostly tasted like butter without much flavor, and the pistachio flavor was missing. Overall, the desserts here are not the freshest or delicious. That said, if you want to try the Dubai chocolate style strawberry, this is the place to go. The environment inside isn’t very inviting, so I’d recommend this as a takeout spot rather than a place to sit.

On Saturday morning after a long walk visited Little Pebbles Cafe. A very small cozy cafe serving coffee, tea, and various types of croissants. Tried viral kunafa croissant with latte. It was decent in taste but I had better. Coffee was good. So if you are in that area, you don't need to search for a good cafe, this one will satisfy you 😉

Goûter is a charming North York patisserie that strikes the perfect balance between large-scale production for wholesale and catering, while maintaining exceptional quality. Their weekend box offers a delightful selection of croissants, kouign-amann, madeleines, danishes, jam and bread. For walk-ins, the kouign-amann is highly recommended. This authentic French patisserie prides itself on its wide array of croissants and danishes baked fresh daily.
Kouign Amman are divine! Also frozen croissants, pain au chocolat, etc to proof overnight and bake at home.

The Gouter (the chocolate croissant) is sooo good! Worth every buck. Fresh delicious croissants 🥐 that are addictive.

You walk into Goûter and you simply do not know where to look first! Then again, the smells of fresh bread, butter, chocolate pure bliss. I love all the selections of great food. Everything from take out meals and soups to filled croissants, stunning baking and chocolates. I bought a little of everything but always my go to’s are perfect baguettes, a proper croissant filled with ham and bechamel, a fruit danish and of course a tiny cake. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel.

In French, "goûter" is the verb for "to taste", and everything I've had so far at Goûter was definitely tasty. The interior smells of the fresh butter they use in their boulangerie, so entrancing! My significant other and I shared their Piña Colada gelato (especially amazing), Banana Chocolate Caramel gelato, Pain au chocolate (très bon!!), Almond croissant (though I think I prefer the filling at Amadeus and Nadege), Kouign-amann (MUST-HAVE, buttery sugary crispy fluffy goodness originating in Brittany, France), Tarte au chocolat (not as rich as I'd hoped), and a super crunchy French baguette (too crunchy for my tastes but I would still repurchase) that we used to make a couple sandwiches at home. There's a market across the road and a No Frills just North at Wilson where you can pick up toppings to make your own delights. The shopkeeper was very polite and definitely has a strong knowledge of French patisserie. She let us sample their new scones - buttery, a bit cheesy, and fluffy, yet with a firm crust, we'll have to get some next time! From what I've seen, they also allow you to pick up frozen Pain au chocolat (and perhaps other items) that you can proof and bake in your own kitchen! I asked about when they usually sell out of their baked goods, and apparently every day is different. If you are worried, you can order in the morning and then pick up your items by the end of the day. They really care not to over-produce so that they don't waste food, and so that their products are always fresh out of the oven. I was really impressed when the shopkeeper said that they make everything themselves, nothing from other stores. Verdict: Definitely one of the best patisseries in the city. We'll definitely be back to try their other products and repurchase our favourites! Looking forward to trying some chocolates, eclairs, and more pastries!

I feel like I'm kind of rounding up here, I would've given this spot a 3.5. The cruffin and kouign-amann were absolutely amazing, but I was so let down by the almond croissant and danish. I pre-ordered ahead of time, but had I seen them beforehand, I likely wouldn't have spent the money. The danish had a hole in the pastry, as if it had stuck to the pan while baking and the bottom had just ripped off (I shared it with my family and everyone was disappointed) - I think grocery store ones are better than this for a fraction of the price! And the croissant was pretty lacklustre, not flaky and full of filling like other croissants. That being said, I think this is a good spot to check out for their famous kouign-amann, which was super tasty and the cruffin was perfectly flaky and loaded with a delicious cream filling!

What a joy to discover this traditional French pâtisserie and bakery right down the street from where I live. After living in Paris for a couple of years and getting used to walking to my local boulangerie, I didn't think that I would ever find this in Toronto. But find it I did, at Goûter that opened up on Bathurst a few months ago. The croissants, pain au chocolat and pain au raisin were perfectly flaky and fresh. By far the "most authentic" that I have found in Toronto (and I have tried a number of French bakeries on Avenue, Yonge, Bayview and Mt. Pleasant in North York). I didn't get a chance to try the baguettes yet (the real litmus test), but I will certainly go back. The confectionery and home-made icecream look delicious, and they have an amazing looking espresso machine that I definitely want to try. All-in-all, a great experience for a newly opened store on Bathurst. I will do my best to help it stay around. -------- OK, I just went back to try the fresh baguette (actually more like a French "tradition" with a harder crunchy crust and a chewy, rather than the soft fluffy inside of a baguette), and it was fantastic. Seriously. I am upping my review to 5 stars. Oh happy day!

Bakery
Hazukido Lite Cafe (Atrium) is an international bakery known for its Japanese French croissants. With over 100 flavors, they use European butter and imported flour from Japan to create their signature flaky and puffy croissants. The dough is meticulously folded and rolled over a 72-hour period, resulting in a unique texture resembling a honeycomb with a perfect crunch and buttery aroma.
Located inter the Union Station Bay Street atrium, Hazukido brings in a pop to the food scene down below. I only tried their strawberry bubble tea drink and it was delightful. Although a tad sweet, they used real strawberries to stand out amount at the bubble tea world. If you’re looking for a quick drink, the store that day made my drink in under 2 minutes with no lineup in front of me.

The atmosphere is really nice. Beautiful decor and there are several tables. Though there's a loud sound of a fan in the background. They ran out of sparkling soda for the blue refresher so I ordered the lychee latte which was really good. Compared to other coffee shops, they took a bit longer to make our drinks which is fine because we weren't in a rush. However, they forgot to give our croissants until I reminded them. I was really excited to try their croissants but was really disappointed by how hard and stale the butter croissant tasted (especially considering the price is $5.20 for a medium sized croissant). The almond custard was a bit softer (but not fluffy). I will try coming back another time hopefully when they have more freshly made croissants.

Sweet little spot! Had the oolong tea and was able to choose the sweetness. It was soothing and I was pleased that I could choose sweetness. My husband had coffee and a lemon glazed croissant which I tasted. Very nice, the croissant was crispy & light and airy on the inside. The service was great, respectful and wanting to do a good job. They do!!

We walked in thinking that the cafe looked interesting. There wasn't any other soul using the cafe. Although the staff were friendly and polite, the croissants were not fresh. We tried the charcoal chocolate croissant, which was hard, lacking flavor, and stale. The drink ( chocolate milk tea) was a redeeming factor.

The restaurant had a lively, vibrant, and friendly atmosphere. The food was very simple and lacked distinctive flavors, but the fresh bread was truly exceptional. Overall, it’s a good place for breakfast and casual gatherings with friend

I recently tried the Charcoal Roasted Oolong Milk Tea at Hazukido. The drink had a nice, subtle flavor with a distinct oolong taste. It was a pleasant and refreshing experience. They also have amazing croissants. This specific location offers a good number of seats and has a nice interior. I’m looking forward to trying more items on the menu!

I got a pastry and coffee combo. Delicious. The service was excellent and the interior, though small, is very cute and peaceful. I went in an off hour so not sure if it gets busier at other times.

I like the ambience and the staff but food variety is lacking, while the croissants are great, I would appreciate more selection of other baked goods. Recently they have moved the croissants to an “open shelf’ , open as in no cover, glass door whatsoever, not very hygienic for sure, I may stop buying cause you never know who has touched it, sneezed on it, flies…. Which is a bummer cause I enjoy coming to this cafe a lot

🇨🇦 Bake Code Toronto – Mystery Box Adventure 🎁 Tried their “TGTG-style” surprise box — kind of a gamble. Price-wise, the 6-pack ($30) isn’t much more than the 5-item mystery bag, so not sure why they package it like that 🤷‍♀️ 🌰 Black Sesame Croissant – The best of the bunch! Fragrant and nutty — the kind of flavor that makes you feel like it’s good for your hair 😂 Wish they still had it in stock when I went again. 🥛 Soy Milk Croissant – Meh. The soy milk + mochi filling sounded interesting but tasted pretty bland. 🥚 Salted Egg Yolk Croissant – Better when warm! I had it cold and it was okay, but definitely improves with reheating. 🥐 Matcha Tree-Ring Croissant – Not too sweet, which I liked. Topped with matcha cream and another yellow sauce — a nice balance. 🍬 Other options (like the sweet tree-ring ones) felt a bit too sugary for me. Most items were pretty average overall.
Tina Y — Google review
Bake Code is a great spot if you’re into pastries. Their croissants, cakes, and other baked goods are really well made and taste fresh. Prices are on the higher side, but not unreasonable for the quality. The staff here are very kind and helpful — I appreciated that their recommendations weren’t just pushing the most expensive items, but actually what they thought I’d enjoy. They also offer “mystery boxes” with 5 random pastries. It’s a fun idea, though it’s clear those pastries are from the previous day or a bit older. Still, it’s a decent value if you don’t mind that. Overall, a nice bakery with great quality pastries, friendly service, and some creative options like the mystery box.

One of my go-to croissant spots in Toronto! They got really great variety of croissants, both sweet and salty. There are also some other desserts, which I haven’t tried yet personally, although everything looked great. Inside of the Bake Code, you may also find Chattime bubble tea 🧋 Enjoy!

I had a really great experience here. The croissants are delicious, and reasonably priced. The bubble tea is also amazing – smooth and not overly sweet. What impressed me the most was the customer service: the staff are super friendly, especially Janice – she’s incredibly kind, enthusiastic, and attentive. Definitely coming back again!

WORST PLACE EVER!!!! I ordered a hot matcha latte and they served the worst possible matcha. First it was served to me cold and then i had to ask again to warm it up. I also purchased their lotus biscoff croissant and that had a piece of gum of top of it. And they tried to cover it up but saying it was cream and not gum. Never visiting this place again.

Brick Street Bakery is a small chain that prides itself on its extensive menu of sandwiches, savory pies, cookies, and bread. They are known for using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients to make their products from scratch every day without any added preservatives. Their almond croissants and other pastries are particularly popular, as well as their artisanal bread used in handcrafted sandwiches. The bakery also offers British baking traditions such as soups and meat pies.
A cute small bakery located in Distillery. They serve a variety of pastries at an affordable price! The hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows is worth getting when you want a hot drink on a cold day. Especially compared to the other options in the area during the Christmas market season, this is a great affordable option. The space is a bit limited but still some seating space.

Nov2024 Casual, no frills, and rustic bakery at the Historical Distillery complex that serves a wide range of baked goods and dishes. The sandwiches are huge and the listed menus are varied. Tastes are diverse to appeal to plenty of diners. The brewed coffee is typical drip type strong and cloudy. Service is counter takeaway style. Downside is that you need request for napkins despite them having a diy sermvice takeaway counter. No driniking water as well. Dining nooks are limited to small stalls and counters. Ideal for takeaways and very quick bites.

We stumbled upon this little gem while wandering through the Distillery District this Sunday morning looking for a place to sit and grab some breakfast. A lot of places did not seem to be open despite it being after 10am. Entered and were immediately greeted and after a short look around proceeded to order two breakfast sandwiches and a couple hot beverages. Service was super friendly and quick and the breakfast sandwich was over the top! FRESH, Tasty and a generous portion! Served on delicious whole wheat bread this was really a great food experience! The bakery has a cool vintage vibe and feels like a local bistro should. They do have a good selection of take out which we will definitely try at a later visit. There are stools and a small area on each side to enjoy your food or drink on site which we took advantage of. Thanks Brick St. ! Excellent Espresso too! ☕️

Perhaps it was just that I went after peak time, I'll extend the benefit of doubt. I was excited to have a Cornish pasty, I haven't had one in years, unfortunately it was a bit too dry and too salty. I didn't finish it. I had a butter croissant that had maybe been out a little longer than ideal but it was also quite dry. My coffee was burnt and bitter, I only managed a few sips. The staff member was friendly, the atmosphere got my hopes up, it's just too bad my expectations weren't met. Hopefully my experience is an outlier.

I was slightly disappointed. I love Portuguese egg tarts- these were acceptable- but missing something- I love when there is a hint of almond flavor- which these did not have. The cheesecake tart also disappointed me- really didn’t have much flavor at all. The iced latte was quite good. Just wish it had less ice and more latte.
MD062010 — Google review
This bakery has a casual, down-to-earth vibe. However, the prices felt a bit on the higher side. We ordered the Coronation Chicken sandwich and the Egg Salad sandwich. The fillings were tasty, but the bread was quite hard and dry, which made the soft fillings spill out as we ate—ending up a bit messy. Napkins aren’t placed out on a shelf for self-service, and they don’t seem to be provided unless you ask, so I’d recommend requesting a few when you pay. On the patio, pigeons and sparrows quickly gather around the tables, likely drawn by the crumbs. If you’re not comfortable around birds, just be aware—they do come quite close. While this visit was a bit disappointing overall, there were some other items—like tarts and pot pies—that looked really good, so I’d like to come back and try those next time.

Never had any disappointing products from this bakery and this is my go to sweets pick up place whenever I am in distillary district. This time I got minced meat tart, pecan butter tart, two different kinds of brownies. All of them were like homemade excellent comforting dessert.

a lovely little bakery/cafe right by the main entrance to the District. During warm months there are tables/umbrellas outside - for extra seating space - sadly now (November) they are gone. there are still some tall chairs by the windows available inside. a great place to grab something substantial - a good selection of sandwiches, pastries (including savoury - with some vegetarian options like the delicious Curry Veggie or Spinach FetaTurnovers). There are also sweet croissants and cookies and pies. Plus good coffee/hot beverages. you could also buy bread there - with many interesting varieties. Watch out for pigeons hanging out by the door, they are always trying to sneak in for some tasty crumbs ;)

Delysées Luxury Desserts is a spot that truly lives up to its name. The pastries and desserts here look stunning, almost too pretty to eat, but once you take a bite, you realize they taste just as good as they look. The macarons are delicate with crisp shells and smooth, flavorful fillings, and the cakes are light yet rich, with layers that feel perfectly balanced. What stands out most is the attention to detail — every dessert feels carefully crafted, with textures and flavors that complement each other. The chocolate creations are silky and indulgent without being overwhelming, and the fruit-based desserts are refreshing and not overly sweet. The space itself is chic and modern, which makes it a nice place to enjoy dessert with friends or just treat yourself. Service is friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Whether you’re looking for a beautiful cake to share or just want to enjoy something small but luxurious, Delysées is definitely worth a visit.

I have been here twice! It’s a high end luxury desert shop so it can be pricey and the single servings are small but the taste overcomes all these factors. I have had Nutella tiramisu cake, trio chocolate and champagne macarons don’t remember name of 1 more but they were a delight and something I have never had like. Really amazing desserts and the ambience, interiors and even the cutlery will give you a very luxury feel.

Beautiful dessert shop on trendy Ossington Ave. Great place to take a break while shopping or dining nearby. The Rocher I tried looked like a giant Ferrero Rocher—chocolate glaze with a crispy shell and biscuit base. Not overly sweet, but still a bit too sweet for my taste. Lots of eye-catching pastries. Worth visiting if you’re nearby, but not a must-go.

Excellent coffee, food and service. By far the best croissants in Toronto. The food choices are all delightful. Institutional neighbourhood bakery with all sorts of treats, cakes and breads. Can see why this place has such a loyal following: their stuff is pretty and caters to all types of sweet teeth. Been here a couple of times and enjoyed. My most recent visit, we got the cream brioche and mont blanc. Brioche was a tad dry and would have liked more filling. Mont blanc was smooth and creamy and tarty all at the same time. Good amount of seating area. Prices are on the higher side but not unreasonable. Service is efficient. A good stop if you want some treats!

Danforth location: A good hangout on east end for baked stuff and sweet treats. Its carries standard “bakery & cafe” vibes. Their patio is pretty and nice sit out for the quaint neighbourhood. Baked goods are decent and prices are above average. Biscotti, Savoury croissant, turnovers amd latte were tasty. A good alternate for the american coffe shop opposite to it. It was our second visit recently and was sarisfying

This is an excellent place for a gathering with friends for breakfast or just for a coffee. The variety of french bread and desserts is fantastic. Very legit flavor of a Parisian croissant. The almond croissant is my favourite ever. They have breakfast to dine in (not the best but decent) with service at the table, also ice-cream and the best tea with lemon ice-cream scoops in the area. Their hot chocolate is also rich, creamy and magnificent. Perfect spot if you're in the mood to play some board games while having a nice hot chocolate with a little dessert (wide variety, including eclairs). The owner is such a sweet and attentive lady! Sometimes, they give you loyalty cards.

The presentation was really pretty. The food was pretty good. I found it a bit hard to pull apart or dig in to get the mousse flavour inside the dessert but it also didn’t help that I only had a fork. With a knife it probably wouldn’t be as hard. Other than that, the mousse type filling for the tiramisu was 💯🥰 really yummy! Would like to come back sometime to try the bagels with the specialty cream cheese 🥯

i don’t even like croissants that much but kream’s cube croissants were really tasty, and filled VERY generously. like the cream was oozing out and it was so messy to eat — is there such a thing as too much cream maybe???? luckily, it wasn’t too sweet so it wasn’t sickening. the croissant didn’t taste super fresh but it was still so good. it was thick, dense, and had a buttery fragrance to it. some bites were also crispy, you could taste the bake. i very much preferred the taro over the black sesame one. the taro cream was actually quite sweet (compared to other taro flavoured things), and didn’t have the most DISTINCT signature yammy taro flavour, but it was super good. on top, there was a savoury, slightly salty taro chip. the black sesame was definitely less sweet (barely sweet at all???), and though some bites had a very strong nutty sesame taste, i don’t think it went very well with the croissant and it kind of faded out. i did think that the rosemary (or potentially thyme?) on top was quite interesting and peculiar. in addition to the croissants, i really loved the oreo banana pudding. the dessert was sweet, but it didn’t have the typical “artificial” sweetness that you find in most banana puddings. instead, the natural flavour of the banana was very prominent, and the sweetness came from a combination of that and the soft oreo topping (not crunchy cracker texture). the banana pudding was super creamy, there were bits of crumbly cake inside, and i really liked the oats/granola on the bottom (although i would like if there was more of it and it was crunchier and had a stronger oat taste).

Drinks are a one-time thing. I wouldn’t go back there for beverages again. The dessert was decent — 8 out of 10. The chocolate latte tasted like chocolate milk with water, and most of the cup was filled with ice. The pistachio latte gets a 6 out of 10 only because it had less ice and the flavor was richer.

Aroma Espresso Bar is a popular coffee shop in downtown Toronto that offers delivery through UberEats and DoorDash. Known for its delicious coffee and hot chocolate, it also serves Northern Chinese cuisine including dumplings and noodles. The cozy interior makes it a great spot to visit once restaurants reopen. While some find the food ordinary, others appreciate the tasty options like ginger and scallion lobster.
I ordered bureka treats it was so good! They ran out of tomatoes and it still was good. The coffee was great too. Very unique place.

A super nice place with great and quick service. Had a chicken avocado sandwich and it was good but very overpriced. For $19 there are many options in the area where you can have a whole meal.

My friend and I were walking by this location. It was a sunny day and the patio was set up with beautiful flowers and umbrella tables. We ordered an aroma chocolate coffee and a Mango Kale Smoothie. Both were delicious! The atmosphere was gorgeous. Whether you are meeting a friend, client or working on your own - this coffee shop is perfect

Exceptional service and super coffee. They use Cimballi Italian coffee machines so the coffee has the same taste as in Italy. Service is excellent and espresso is served with a small Aroma chocolate. Nice touch.

Hazukido, a Japanese croissant bakery that arrived in Toronto in 2020, has quickly expanded across the city due to its popularity. The croissants are known for their fluffy texture and come in sweet and savory varieties. Made with only the finest ingredients, people often line up outside their locations to get a taste of these exclusive pastries. Hazukido's unique folding technique creates a classic honeycomb texture that sets them apart from other bakeries.
As soon as my friend and I walked in, we were mesmerized by the croissants in the display case. Wow! We ended up getting 2 and splitting it between us. We got the Smoke Salmon Croissant and BLT Croissant. These are by far the best croissants I've ever had. The lady at the cash was so kind. She recommended the Matcha latte, and it did NOT disappoint. 100% coming back here!

Got the tea set with 15% off since it was a weekday — great deal! The staff were friendly and quick with service. They also gave a nice tea recommendation when I asked. Overall, the quality is really good for the price, especially for a place in Yorkville.

Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime, greeted by friendly and efficient staff. There is a nice range of croissants, yet, I was in a rush so just had the plain croissant and it was very nice. The black coffee I purchased was strong and quite good. The prices were a bit expensive $9 for a coffee and croissant. The facilities were modern and well maintained. Seating was sufficient and there is a good view from the shop front window. Some of the patrons were enjoying themselves and the group was excessively loud so I did not stay long. It would be a difficult judgment call for the staff to ask paying customers to be a little quieter as their were other customers trying to enjoy their break. I didn't visit the rest room, however, the shop was kept clean.

Stopped by and got: - Gingerbread Latte: Had a creme brulle type film on top of a relatively standard latte. - Double Baked Almond Croissant: Flaky and fluffy in the best possible way as you can hear the crunch with every bite. Generous amount of almonds, good size, a bit pricey. Conveniently located by the Bay station. While mainly a to-go spot, there are a number of tables and comfy seats if you want to hang out.

My husband and I were seeking shelter from the rain and stumbled upon this charming cafe, where we discovered their delightful afternoon tea set. Each set included a delightful mix of sweet and savory treats, making it the perfect accompaniment to our cozy wait. The cafe provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for catching up and letting time slip away.

I got the smoked salmon croissant (9/10, messy but delicious, esp the spicy sauce), the dark chocolate croffle (7/10, would have been an 8.5 if the chocolate was a bit colder), and the almond caramel croissant (8/10, I really liked the cream inside). I also got the passion fruit slush, which was so good that I would revisit the place just to buy the slush again. Easily a 12/10! The service was nice, the food came quickly and the workers were friendly. The place is a bit small, so there is not much room to just hang around in.
Khadija B — Google review
I got the afternoon tea set, it’s not bad as a snacking plate. It wasn’t too special or mind blowing but not bad. The teas are nice and flavourful and they provide sugar and cream as well. We went on a weekday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy.
Ktea — Google review
It was okay. Service was good but pretty much just the standard. The problem was the croissant slices they use as the vase for everything were SO dry. I guess they toasted them? I don't know but it was very basic and not a ton of flavour. I wouldn't recommend their afternoon tea thing it seems like a gimmick.

Hands down the BEST croissant I’ve had in Toronto. Crispy on the outside, soft and slightly moist on the inside, with perfect layers and an incredible buttery aroma. The balance of texture and flavor is just chef’s kiss. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. I wasn’t expecting much—but WOW. It blew both me and my husband away. We looked at each other after the first bite and literally went: “Oh. My. God.” Thank you, Mabel’s. I didn’t know how badly I needed a perfect croissant in my life until now.

Great sausage rolls and great chocolate chip oatmeal cookies! Made by hand and the service was lovely, by friendly folks who clearly love what they're doing. You have to pay for premium ingredients and the time it's made with care, so be forewarned it's not cheap, but it's worth it for a treat!

4.66 Stars. Just ate the pretzel bun ($1.49) at home - warmed it up and added Kielbasa and old cheddar with mustard - it was good. Service was great, changed our selection and so lovely about it. Bought a couple vegan items to share with family and they look great. We considered cool drinks but they were a bit pricey. I would recommend going here for sure.

We were walking in the area when we wanted something sweet and saw this bakery. They had a vast collection of items and we ended up going with the brownie. This is one of the most decadent brownies I've had as it had a good, harder texture on the outside and fudgy on the inside which made it so great. We shared one brownie between the two of us and it definitely hit the spot. They also have warm drinks available which I may get the next time I'm here.

I was at the bakery recently with a friend, sitting in the back enjoying some empanadas, when things got really uncomfortable. One of the staff members, a woman in a dress who seemed to be in charge… started yelling at another employee. It was loud enough that we both looked at each other, unsure of what was going on. The girl at the front noticed we were clearly uncomfortable and came to the back to quietly close the door. It felt like an attempt to remove us from the yelling, which we appreciated. The whole situation shouldn’t have happened, though. The food was good, but the atmosphere was completely thrown off. Hope the staff get treated better.

I had the sausage roll, which had a generous amount of meat. The chocolate croissant was buttery and flaky with a great chocolate-to-pastry ratio. There's limited seating available, and paid street parking is also limited.

Friendly staff and great bread. I especially appreciate that they cut the bread for you. I don't know why but most bakeries in Toronto don't cut the bread. This for me is a great selling point, I don't mind walking a.bit more if they can cut the bread for me.

Noctua Bakery, located in the Junction neighborhood near UP Express Bloor Station, has gained a loyal following for its artisanal breads and pastries. Venezuelan-born baker Daniel Saez initially sold his loaves from a restaurant before establishing a permanent home at the former Vesuvios location. The bakery offers an array of delectable treats, including boules, morning buns, and croissants with unique flavors like churro-inspired ones.
The bakery in this store is absolutely stunning, with an inviting atmosphere that captures your attention as soon as you walk in. The display of freshly baked goods is not only visually appealing but also reflects high quality in both taste and presentation. During my visit, I had the pleasure of engaging in a delightful conversation while savoring some of their treats in a calm and peaceful environment. The staff was friendly and welcoming, contributing to the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a wonderful place to relax and enjoy delicious baked goods.

My first visit here & I’m so glad it’s so close-by to me! I did not leave disappointed!! This bakery is such a gem of a find! I got the sesame sourdough bread & let me tell you….ITS SOOO GOOOOD!!! As soon as I got home, I had to try it as I have been smelling the fresh sesame while driving! I had a toast with some butter, cheese, topped off with cucumbers & sprinkled everything bagel seasoning! The crunch, the softness in the middle, & the taste of the sesame just absolutely DELICIOUS 😍 The service was also impeccable! Clean & cute bakery! Next time I’m defs coming in for a baked goodie 😍 & I cannot wait to try other sourdough breads!! Highly recommended :)

Noctua is at the junction area on Dundas St W. The restaurant is a couple of blocks away from the keele and dundas west bus stop. I've been going there for 3 weeks now getting different items each time. Ordering: there is a ordering desk with a display case of the baked goods and frozen dessert as soon as you walk into the restaurant. There is generally only one cashier/barista getting your food or making the drink. Cost: I pay around $10 for two items each time I've gone. I've gotten the egg brioche, onion za'atar brioche, ham and cheese croissant, morning bun, salmon cream cheese croissant. Wait Time: about 10 minutes, each time I go there are about 3 people in line ahead of me. The bakery has a small ordering area and two sets of chairs at the front. The bakery smells great when you walk in and although it is rather busy the line does move pretty quickly. The egg brioche was rather dry and the egg was baked until hard boiled (not creamy kind of chalky taste). The Za'atar brioche was great. The caramelized onion in the Za'atar brioche tasted really good and the brioche was buttery as well. The ham and cheese croissant was really tasty. The saltiness of the ham and cheese really complemented the buttery croissant. The morning bun tasted like a cinnamon bun without the icing. It was tasty but sort of dry and cold as well. The salmon and cream cheese croissant was okay, the salmon was a little present in the cream cheese, but odd enough the croissant ended up tasting really salty. I think most of the items could benefit from being warmed up before eating. Overall: The bakery has a familiar feel and has an interesting selection of baked goods, though some of the items are a miss like the (egg brioche, and morning bun). The standouts so far have been the za'atar caramelized onion broiche and ham and cheese croissant. Overall the items I've tried so far have been alright, I was sort of expecting more from the items given the high google review score of the bakery.

The pastries were very tasty and they do offer many of them to choose from. I wasn't a fan of not knowing how much my items would be until I got to the register though. The coffee has an interesting fruity note to it that I haven't had at other bakeries. The pistachio croissant has a cream filling which was nice.

What's the justification for all the good ratings. I don't quite understand. I was misguided from all the good ratings When you walk in, everything looks right for a boulangerie bakery. All the bake goods and sandwiches are on display. They are all decent sizes and appealing. Somehow the sandwich I received is not the same on the counter. Look at my picture. It was very lackluster. One slice of turkey, small smudge of herb aioli. $14 for this bs. Croissant is decent, crispy shell but it has too much butter. Maybe their specialty is bread making and I didn't buy any bread. But every I ordered was not good.

Such a nice cosy bakery! I dropped by and got a bunch of baked. Here are my personal thoughts: - Sesame sourdough: I imagine the sesame seeds were just coated on the outside of the loaf but it’s also throughout the bread! So yummy and nutty, especially when toasted and paired with butter. Also, beautiful bread ears and some blistery edges 🤤 - Cinnamon roll: nothing can go wrong with a classic. I very much enjoyed this. - Cheese pizza: I also got a slice, warmed up to enjoy on my walk back on a cold windy day. Beautiful undercarriage, well cooked, best decision today! I had no expectations walking in and Noctua’s bakes were a delight. Also, really friendly service. Definitely gonna be back to try more items on the menu! 😁

A cute neighbourhood cafe with some nice pastries, coffee, and gelato. We got the savoury Danish as well as the pain au chocolat. The Danish was tasty while the pain au chocolat was standard. Probably on the pricier end for pastries. A couple seats inside the cafe and in the summer, there are a couple seats outside the shop which makes for a nice atmosphere. While the atmosphere was lovely and food was decent, service would be the biggest knock as the employee was curt and not very friendly. Overall a fine spot to stop by for briefly.

I guess I’ve become an old school Millennial—but, I still think there’s real value in good customer service. I’ve been a customer at Noctua for quite a while and have always enjoyed the baked goods and coffee. But recently, I’ve started going to other local spots on my morning walk for a coffee and a treat. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, especially for local businesses I want to support. But the decline in customer service over the past few months has been noticeable—and it seems others have picked up on it too. I’m not asking for much. I worked as a barista at a bakery for years, so I understand that you can’t always be on. But a simple “hello” or “thank you” goes a long way in making customers feel welcome. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.

Nestled in Toronto's charming Distillery District, Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie is a huge modern French bistro that exudes a Gallic feel with its marble bar and tiled floors. The restaurant's interior, spanning over 12,000 square feet inside a heritage building, features exposed brick, dainty light fixtures, and patterned tiles that capture the district's Instagrammable aesthetic.
Had a fabulous time! I called ahead to make a reservation for my sister and her husband’s anniversary. I spoke to Ken and he was great, answering all my questions and making accommodations for my family, since some members have food allergies. The staff were very polite and they added some extra touches to make my sister’s evening special. Ken came over and introduced himself to us which was a lovely plus and was available to accommodate us for any thing else we may have needed. The atmosphere of course is lovely, inside and out! Very picturesque. And the food was delicious. The only issue was they ran out of the crepe, which is what I really wanted to try but the other desserts were really nice. The strawberry soufflé wasn’t too sweet and tasted like strawberries. I also thought the prices were fair for what we had. I definitely would go back and suggest the restaurant to others.

Overall great experience! More of a 4.5 stars out of 5 than a 4. I met a friend here for brunch and I will most definitely be coming back. We had both heard great things about the French onion soup, and it did not disappoint. The crab eggs Benedict was delicious, the side salad was so fresh. My personal favourite of the meal was the smoked salmon dish. Great coffee, beautiful fresh juice, and we had a phenomenal day to be sitting outside for our meal - the patio is gorgeous. My only complaint was the service, our server was running around quite a bit, not sure what was going on but he wasn’t very present. Very kind though, it’s not that he didn’t care about the table or the service, just a lot seemed to be going on.

Our first visit here, to enjoy a Thanksgiving Brunch with our family. We are frequent visitors to the Distillery District but had never had the opportunity to visit Cluny. I had made reservations not knowing how busy they would be at Thanksgiving and for brunch. Arrived a little early and after a short wait we were seated in a section in the centre. A combination of bench on one side and chairs on the other. A very French decor and ambience throughout. We were fortunate to enjoy live entertainment during our visit that was a very nice touch. A singer accompanied by a guitar player who entertained with some classics and other favourites. It was just the right volume to allow us to converse and enjoy the music. Our server was very friendly and efficient, making appropriate recommendations. Food was served in a timely manner where we never felt rushed which allowed us to enjoy the atmosphere. We chose a variety of dishes from the brunch menu and each one was presented well and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would definitely recommend the Farmer’s Breaky, or the Croque Madame, and the Honey Glazed Brioche definitely looked delicious! There is ample room in the restaurant so you do not feel crowded in. Also there is an outdoor patio area that looked fantastic which was heated. Overall a great experience from start to finish. Kudos to our server Nga for the excellent service. Would definitely recommend and we will likely return.

Overall, Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie was great, delicious food and a really good vibe. Unfortunately, it took a very long time to get our steaks and one of them came out super cold. We had to ask the waiter to warm it up, which was a bit of a bummer. He offered us a complimentary dessert to make up for it, which was nice. Our waiter, though friendly, didn’t seem quite up to the standard of the restaurant compared to other servers. For example, when refilling our water, he spilled some on the table and didn’t clean it up, just left it there. Small details like that stood out in an otherwise lovely experience.

If you want to enjoy a nice coffee/drink and feel like you are in a café in Paris then Cluny will give you just that. The place is super charming - we went there on a Sunday morning and there were two artists playing french songs on the violin and the guitar. The service was top notch - our waitress Jade, was very nice. She made sure we were happy with what we ordered and went to the extent of asking the barista to make me another flat white because I told her it had too much milk for my liking. Thank you Jade - you were the highlight of this experience. On the food side - we had the croque monsieur- which I thought was good (could have been enhanced with more flavors) and the benedict with the soft shell crab (this one was a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor and quality) Overall - it’s a pretty nice place - worth checking out.

Food is great. The French onion soup is the best in Toronto. However, they charged hot water for $2 per person and did not inform us the charge or include the hot water price in the menu feels like a scam. Otherwise, I had some good time and good food there.

We stopped by Cluny Bistro during our evening out in the Distillery District, mostly just for drinks this time but we could immediately tell this place is more of a dining spot than a bar hangout. The ambiance is beautiful and cozy, with a Parisian vibe that makes you want to sit down for a long, relaxed meal. We only had a couple of beers and a snack, so we didn’t get the full food experience, but from what we saw and smelled, the food looked amazing. The service was excellent, even though we weren’t having a full meal. The staff were attentive, and didn’t make us feel rushed or out of place just grabbing drinks. It’s definitely not the best spot if you’re just bar-hopping or looking for a quick drink, but it seems like a fantastic place to come back to for a proper dinner. The crowd was classy and lively, not too loud, just the right buzz. We’re definitely planning to return sometime for the full dining experience. This one’s a great date night spot.

One of my most memorable spots in Toronto. Whether it’s 30°C in July or feels like –40°C in February, Cluny Bistro remains just as inviting. I always enjoy a gentle stroll through the beautiful Distillery District before and after dining there—the cobblestones, the lights, and the soft hum of the place create a touch of Parisian charm in every season. Cluny isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience that lingers with grace and warmth long after you leave.

I visited Jules Patisserie just few minutes ago, for the first time, and I can see why they have so many happy customers! “Javier” who was at the front, was super friendly and made me feel so welcome. He took the time to help me and even gave me complimentary pastries, which was such a kind gesture. Thank you Javier for this! The pastries were absolutely delicious, and the whole place had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s clear that they don’t just serve great food, they also care about their customers. A french bakery/pastry shop with great baguettes, breads and pastries and cakes. They specialize in pastries and croissants (regular, chocolate, almonds and mixed). They also have a small dining area (4 tables of 2 and additional counter seats) where they used to serve specialty coffees, any of their dessert items as well as a lunch menu. There is an inside washroom (downstairs and thus not easily accessible with babies due to the steep staircase). In all, good quality, authentic European style products. However, the photos show the whole wheat sourdough bread (healthy but a bit chewy), the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon danish swirl which together cost $15. I was there around noon and most of their regular selection was gone. Additional photos were added in April 2025. They are still as good with excellent quality pastries. Prices were increased and the 3 just purchased cost $18 but the quality makes it worth the cost....

A friend told me the pastries here were delicious, so I stopped by since I was passing through. I visited on a very hot day. I understand the staff might be irritable because the store was hot, but they had no intention of helping me. I stood there for 5 minutes, and even though I made eye contact with two female employees, they completely ignored me. A man (who seemed to be the manager) came out from the kitchen and told them a customer was waiting, but they just listened and continued to ignore me. In the end, I was so upset that I just left. It doesn't matter how delicious the pastries might be, with that kind of attitude, I have no desire to ever go back. I will not be returning. It was the worst.

I don't know if it's because the bakery had no air conditioning (what???!!!) but instead of layers of light, flaky pastry, the buttery layers of the croissant had essentially melted making the pastry dense, chewy, and doughy - almost like it was undercooked. For almost $8, I definitely expect better

If you’re looking for a real croissant in midtown, this is the place you need to come. I could tell from one bite that they use quality ingredients. Staffs are friendly and the service is quick. They offer a variety of baked goods such as croissants, sourdough breads, sandwiches, danishes, tarts, quiches, cakes, cookies etc. We tried some of their products below. 1. Plain Croissant : 4.5/5 2. Almond Plain Croissant : 4/5 3. Chocolate Almond Croissant : 5/5 - Just delicious. I've never tried the chocolate + almond combo before but they go really well together. Highly recommend. 4. Mustard Twist : 5/5 5. Vanilla & chocolate cookies : 4/5 6. Apple Almond Danish : 5/5 - The texture of baked apples and the layers.. everything about this danish was amazing. I usually don't like the taste of baked apples but this danish? Please try. If you ever see this danish in the basket, just get it. You won't regret it. 7. Pain Au Chocolat : 3/5 I recommend visiting in the morning if you’d like to try various pastries. And maximum 4 people are allowed in the store. I’ll definitely come back and try their cake menus too.

Unbearable temperature inside. Walking into the cafe felt like stepping into a sauna. The air was stifling, and I was sweating through my shirt within minutes. It’s impossible to enjoy patisserie when you’re fighting the urge to bolt for the door just to breathe. The staff seemed aware of the issue but offered no solutions.

How am I only finding out about this place now?! The paste rows are amazing. The croissants are super flaky and buttery. It’s making me hungry just thinking of them now. I also tried the quiche, it was good and had big chucks of broccoli but probably not something I’d order again. That being said I’d definitely come back for the croissants again anytime!

Roselle Desserts is a charming bakery located in Corktown, Toronto, known for its creative twists on traditional pastries and delightful crêpes, tea, and coffee. The bakery was founded by pastry chef Stephanie Duong and her partner Bruce Lee in 2015. Duong's background includes experience at the three-Michelin-starred Regis et Jacques Marcon in France and other impressive roles in France and Hong Kong.
Definitely one of the best pastry shops in Toronto. I’ve tried their Earl Grey and Strawberry Parfait, and I prefer the vanilla-based soft serve from the parfait over the Earl Grey. I’m not saying their Earl Grey isn’t good, but I would prefer a more pronounced taste of Earl Grey. That said, both soft serves come with an amazing texture, mouthfeel, and the perfect level of sweetness. I’ve also tried their Pistachio and Strawberry cake cups, both very nice. I appreciate that Rosella keeps their desserts in a well-balanced sweetness, allowing me to taste the different ingredients dancing together in the cup. They didn’t put cake in the pistachio one; instead, they used puff pastry. I am not a big fan of it, but I do think it’s a good choice, as it goes super well with their amazing pistachio cream. I find their Madeleine a bit dry, but I think I taste almond flour in it, which makes the taste less flat. I’ll definitely try other items from them in the future.

4/5 Amazing little bakery/pastry shop in Leslieville Toronto The Earl 10/10 🙌🏼 Maple Black Walnut Honey Cake 9/10 🙌🏼 Earl Grey Shortbread Cookies 10/10 🙌🏼 These are just some of the treats I tried and they were incredible 4/5 stars because of price it’s not exactly wallet friendly especially when you are ordering large quantities of treats I spent around 57$ on 6 items 🫣 Earl Grey Soft serve is what they are most known for in the summer months but everything they make is made with the best ingredients and the quality is not your typical margarine whip overly sweet kind of dessert it’s definitely worth a visit or two Their hours make it tricky for those outside of Toronto to get their hands on their products as they are only open a few days a week with limited hours and products that run out fast! I still loved my desserts I will be back for their earl grey soft serve 🍦🫖💕

Absolutely outstanding patisserie. Every visit to Roselle feels like a little celebration of taste — their desserts are crafted with remarkable precision, creativity, and genuine passion. The eclairs, mille-feuille, and their signature Earl Grey soft-serve are all executed to perfection. You can sense the French training behind every detail, from textures to balance of flavors. The space is bright and inviting, the staff always kind and attentive, and everything feels thoughtfully designed. Easily one of the best dessert spots in Toronto — refined, consistent, and worth every visit.

I had the fraisier, Earl grey mousse and a slice of mango passion fruit sponge cake. They were all good but I thought overpriced for what they were. Tasted good… but not amazing. The service was nice. I’ve been there for their soft serve with strawberries sundae and it was good but, again, I found it more expensive than what I thought it was worth.
Cathy B — Google review
Roselle doesn’t just do desserts, they do works of art you can eat — and “Next Level” soft serve is exactly that. Imagine Earl Grey tea got dressed up for a Michelin-star gala, then decided to throw in a zesty lemon surprise just to keep things playful. The swirl itself is impossibly creamy, perfumed with tea in the most delicate, elegant way. Then they go ahead and crown it with lemon curd, crisp pearls that crunch like tiny fireworks, and a buttery sable cookie just to remind you they’re not messing around. Every bite had me questioning if I should slow down to savor… or speed up before someone tried to steal it. Verdict: gone in minutes. This isn’t just ice cream. This is Next Level living. Would 100% recommend — bring a friend, but order your own because sharing is not realistic.

I live an hour away and roselle is most certainly worth the trek to this neighborhood. I wish they had longer hours. My fav things are the soft serve , the earl grey cake and the banana eclairs are to die for! The flavours are just perfect and not sickingly sweet. I thin the joke is they try and cater to Asian palates. I also appreciate how they partner with local producers for seasonal fruit items. I tried the corn cake on Friday and it was so unique and delicious. I dream about Roselle and it is my favourite bakery in Toronto !

Roselle is a hidden gem tucked into the heart of Corktown. It's my favourite go-to dessert spot in the neighbourhood, and often claims a lineup down the street (but don't worry, it moves fast). The Earl Grey ice cream and birthday cake cups are my personal favourites.

Ordered the 9inch earl grey cake from roselle for the first time and let me tell you, it was the BEST earl grey cake I’ve had in my entire life. It’s so worth the price and my boyfriend and his friends really really enjoyed it. Everyone asked where I got it from. Will definitely be returning for future birthday orders 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Bakery
This place easily ranks as one of the top five bakeries in Toronto for French pastries. It’s a family run operation with an extreme focus on detail and quality. Their pastries are made on premise daily by the owner who is a former Parisian. This place is a bit of a throw back to a simpler time whereby the emphasis was on creating high quality products. I’ve sampled most of their menu and you can’t go wrong with any selection. Today I tried something new. The cinnamon brioche and the pain chocolate croissant. Fresh out of the oven and absolutely perfect. Worth a visit. The pastries are not cheap so be forewarned. If you’re not seeking pastry excellence, you’re better off buying croissants in bulk from a big box store. This bakery is in a complexly different league and you can expect to pay quality and excellence. And…the husband wife duo that own this place are incredibly pleasant and friendly.

I really liked Patisserie Sebastien! The café latte I had is one of the best in the city. Exceptional. It was nice to see the chef interacting with guests. A great selection of pastries. The guests seemed like they are long-time customers, which is a great sign. A nice place to meet with others!
Maxim B — Google review
Terrible experience. I ordered a $5.00 latte and gave a $1.00 tip. The lovely woman brought it to the table where I was sitting with my husband. My husband did not want a coffee but stayed to keep me company Within a few minutes, a man emerged from the back and chastised my husband for not ordering. There were only 2 other people in the cafe. We were embarrassed and tried to apologize for not knowing the rule but were sternly told it is a restaurant and we are only welcome if everyone orders. I am so insulted. We will never go back.

This is one of my favorite spots in this neighborhood. The best French desserts around. It is also a great for brunch on Sunday. They have nice quiches and sandwiches all in French style. You can see the French chef working in the kitchen. Coffee tastes like heaven here, and I am not religious. It is so popular around this area so the space is often packed.
Juhye L — Google review
Sweet neighbourhood cafe with good selection of quiche, croissants, sweet pastries and specialty teas. Although Pasteries selection may not be as wide as they use to be (per comments) but is enough to warrant any palette. Wasn't able to try sandwiches as freshly baked bread available only after 11am. (I visited at 10am)

Ordered a large Quiche Lorraine, it was amazing. Best quiche ever! Definitely will order again.

Wonderful cafe. Small seating area about 10 tables and a long bar. No patio. Specializes in French pastries and breads. Coffee is Lily brand and the cappuccinos have generous amounts of foam. Nice selection of sandwiches and personal sized quiches. All made on the premise. Excellent chocolate croissants.

Mon K Patisserie is a charming bakery and cafe located in East York, offering a unique fusion of traditional French and Japanese-inspired baked goods and desserts. Run by a husband-and-wife team from Osaka, the patisserie showcases an array of delectable treats that reflect a blend of Japanese and French culinary influences. From classic butter croissants to seasonal matcha Mont Blancs, the pastries are known for their balanced flavors without being overly sweet.
Absolutely the best bakery! Have been coming to Mon K for years and always blown away by how delicious everything is! The croissants (chocolate almond, cinnamon, bechamel and bacon) and danishes (blueberry) are phenomenal! Incredibly flaky, buttery pastry -- delicate and flavourful. We buy their Chestnut buche de Noel every Christmas and it's always a showstopper. Their quiches and ham and cheese baguette sandwiches are super for lunch. They always have a weekly special -- never hesitate to grab one! Highly recommend!!
Andrea S — Google review
The prices are reasonable and every pastry I tried was delicious. I went a bit late, so some of the ones I wanted were already sold out. But I picked up almost everything that was left in the display fridge (except the whole cakes), and they were all great. I especially liked that nothing was too sweet. The level of sweetness was just right. Not really a complaint, but if I had to point out something, everything is takeout only, even if you want to dine in. Also, maybe because it’s so popular, many items sell out quickly. I really wanted to try the strawberry yogurt something and the chocolate something cake, but they were already gone. I live a bit far, so I’m not sure when I can go again, but I definitely want to come back for more!

This is my favourite type of small BUISNESS. Owed and operated by artisans proud of their creations. Proud they should be. Wonderful bakery. My favourite item was the puff pastry filled with perfectly balanced apple and cinnamon. Clean and well lit.

My family recently got some savoury and sweet pastries from this little patisserie and everything was absolutely lovely! For savoury, we got their Croissant Sandwiches including Egg Salad and Ham & Cheese. Both were flaky, delicious, and you could tell were freshly made! For sweet we got a Dark Chocolate Tart and two Matcha Tiramisu cakes, which were all pieces of art. The Matcha Tiramisu was creamy, luscious, light and not overly sweet. They were my favourite of the whole bunch and were absolutely DIVINE! We also got four of their Cream Puffs and one Coffee Chocolate Tart. The Cream Puffs were so fluffy and not overly sweet. The Coffee Chocolate Tart was also fantastic. Their other pastries and danishes are luscious! The staff were helpful and prompt at packing our rather large to-go order! This is a lovely place for pastries, whether you’re craving sweet or savoury!

Did you know French croissants made in Tokyo taste better than those made in Paris? Fortunately, we're able to experience the same Japanese influence locally, right here. Everything this little pastry shop makes is the best, including a high variety of French puffed pastry as well as beautiful pies and cakes, prepared sandwiches, salads and more. You will not be disappointed. Upd 06/15/2024 Always the best, Absolutely!

Amazing pastries and staff. We had the raspberry jam French beignet and the French toast. The French toast was amazing, do not sleep on that. The raspberry jam was very good. It is a little pricey and they only take credit over $10 so bring cash or debit. I highly recommend this bakery.

Nestled in the bustling Financial District, Maman is a charming southern French café and bakery that originally hails from New York City. This delightful spot on King Street West invites you to savor locally sourced breakfasts and lunches amidst its inviting ambiance, complete with rustic wooden farm tables and beautiful blue-and-white tiles. The outdoor terrace is a perfect escape during warmer months, surrounded by greenery.
I’ll admit it — this is definitely one of those Instagram-famous treats, but the moment I saw “Tahiti” on the menu, my heart couldn’t resist. One treat you can’t miss is this Tahiti sea salt honey latte because sometimes, it’s not about the price tag — it’s about that emotional connection. Great service great vibe!

The croissants and blueberry cake tastes really amazing! Love the experience overall. The almond croissant was the highlight!! Must try bakery/cafe in downtown. They have multiple and unique flavours. They also have a variety of options for breakfast and lunch as well! Additionally the staff is efficient and makes your experience worth- while. Great place with great vibes!

Nice vibe and outdoor atmosphere. Very nice and friendly staff. Food below average. Latte had too much milk vs amount of coffee. Canele bottom was kind of burned. Almond croissant was only crispy at both ends and rest very doughy. Didn’t meet expectations for food.

If you ever find yourself at Maman Café, do yourself a favor and try everything — but especially the Smashed Avocado Tartine. It’s hands down the best thing on the menu and an absolute must-try. The café itself has that warm French flair to it that makes you want to linger, and the staff are honestly the best — welcoming, friendly, and always on point. Don’t miss this gem! I’m not the best food-fluencer but trust me it’s worth every bite!

This is a very cute cafe in the heart of the Financial District, on the food court concourse level of First Canadian Place (FCP). They have 2 communal dining tables if you’d like to enjoy your meal at the cafe that makes you feel like at hime; or, you can use the food court tables. They have great variety of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free sandwiches, salads, soup and pastries. They also have creative and seasonal drinks menu. I strongly recommend “Katie’s Chicken Sandwich” and “Lynett’s Chipotle Chicken Salad Sandwich”. “Salted Tahini Honeycomb Latte” was very unique and creative, and it was at the right temperature to enjoy it right away. The staff are friendly and patient with the hangry people at lunchtime. Lol

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! A bakery staple in Cabbagetown, and I simply couldn't resist when they took puff pastry dough and twisted it into a pretzel shape, filled with a sweet and fruity jam with crunchy almonds, stuck together with a layer of sticky syrup on the outside. The chocolate croissant sports a delicate, airy texture with a generous amount of dark chocolate inside.

Great little neighborhood bakery with lots of options. Not sure if they served drinks (I don’t think so) and no seating but don’t let that stop you; it’s got lots of choices and excellent. I tried the meringue and it honestly was the best I’ve had. Chocolate croissants were great as well. Highly recommend A+

Without a doubt, Toronto’s best bakery. Everything is made with quality ingredients. The sourdough is 100% sourdough, no additives. We love every single thing they make. If you know, and love, they make poppyseed baked goods - the Czech in me is obsessed. Truly, best people & best place. I’d argue they make the best croissants in the City. ALSO, run don’t walk during Thanksgiving. Their pumpkin pie is the absolute best thing I’ve ever tasted in my entire life.

The cream cheese danish is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The biggest, fluffiest, crispy on outside, soft on the inside, kinda pastry I've ever had. The owners seem like lovely folks. Will keep coming back for these yummy pastries.

The place looks great after the recent renovations and the food is amazing as always. It’s really hard to choose what to get bc everything is so good. I usually get a cherry cheese danish but they’ve added even more pastries recently so I guess I’ll be going more often. Apparently they even have sandwiches which I’m looking forward to trying. So glad they have lasted so long and I wish them many more years in business. Outstanding in every way!!!!

Beautiful patisserie with chic vibes and premium pricing. This spot has a stylish, elegant atmosphere and beautifully presented pastries. My latte was good, though at $8 for a large (with an upcharge for alternative milk based on drink size), it’s definitely on the pricier side. Croissant, Croissant, Où Est Mon Mortgage? HV Bakery (Etobicoke) I pulled up craving a croissant, left with a pastry, three crumbs on my shirt, and a philosophical question: How did we get to a place where croissants cost more than my first concert ticket? And yes—it was worth it. What Was Ordered Plain croissant — Flaky shell, honeycomb guts, rich as a trust fund baby. A masterclass in lamination. Spotted quiches in the display—very tempted, but my debit card was already sweating. Also eyed a pain au chocolat and torsadé à la crème, both looking like they knew their worth. Service Commentary Everyone behind the counter was friendly but focused—think less “Toronto barista small talk” and more “Parisian gallery staff guarding edible sculptures.” The entire exchange happened in French, including most of the customer banter. Respect. Vibe Check The crowd? Stylish. French-speaking. Possibly judging your pronunciation of “viennoiserie.” Only two seats, both permanently claimed by people who looked like they had a morning ritual involving poetry and butter. The rest of us stood silently, cradling our pastries like sacred relics. The Space Itself Clean, modern, efficient. Small display case, everything perfectly aligned, not a rogue crumb in sight. Open kitchen in back gives you full view of dough being folded like it’s receiving last rites. There’s a fridge with fresh dairy, which I assume is for regulars named Geneviève who bake on weekends. About the Neighborhood Etobicoke may seem chill, but HV sits in the shadow of the now-defunct Valhalla Inn, a former hotel where live deer roamed freely and mermaids swam in the pool. Yes. Etobicoke: land of magic, mystery, and laminated decadence. Now we have high-end croissants and low parking stress. Growth? Hits & Misses ✓ Croissant — 10/10 texture, flavor, and structural integrity ✗ $4.50 price tag — Not a dig at HV, but this Toronto pricing trend? Croissants are not Teslas. They don’t commute, they don’t charge overnight, they’re not waterproof. I’ll keep paying, but I’ll complain—with love. ✗ Seating — Two seats, zero hope. You're eating this in your car, and it will be spiritual. Important Disclaimer from the Author This isn’t about HV Bakery—they’re doing the Lord’s laminated work. I love croissants. I know how hard they are to make. I respect the butter. I respect the fold. But we’ve got to talk about this $5 croissant trend in Toronto. It’s spreading like a TikTok audio. And for what? They’re dough and air and magic—but I shouldn’t need to refinance for one. Final Verdict HV Bakery is a tiny French embassy in a city that usually hands you croissants wrapped in regret. The price might make your debit card sweat, but the product is the real deal. If you're serious about pastries, come prepared. If you're casual, stay home with your Loblaws muffins. Rating: 4.1 / 5 Perfect For Croissant cultists with flexible budgets Practicing your French while parked illegally

We are glad that this little bakery opens in the neighborhood and now we have more breakfast options. All of the pastries we have tried so far are delicious! The strawberry one is my favorite. Their coffee is just alright, the lattes are a bit too milky to our taste but if anyone prefers that way you might enjoy it more.

Incredible croissants. We have been trying to find the best in Toronto for some time. And we are following chef romain’s list of reviews and top grading along the way. I think this might be THE BEST in Toronto. This croissant is significantly better than our previous fav’s: Brod Flour, patisserie 27, La Boulangerie. We got the sourdough and baguette as well, can’t wait to try them as well.

A true boulangerie right in Etobicoke! The deserts are all delicious, but my absolute favorite was the Apricot & Almond "croissant". A nice sweet Apricot jam and a soft moist almond interior -- I could've eaten a dozen! The baguette is absolutely amazing and just as good (if not better) then most I've had in France. It had a great crust and soft crumb, along with a very nice sourdoughy taste. Perfect for sandwiches avec jambon et fromage, or for munching on the way home!

Where sophistication meets ingenuity. Only Tim’s I have been to that serves a croissant with the lower half wrapped in paper, highly sophisticated activities indeed. Dare I say superior to other nearby franchisees. Also Tim’s is large and clean.

One of the supervisors at this location is a horrible person. He’s very rude and swears at customers. He doesn’t do his job properly. Last time I saw him he was sitting on the same counter where they prepare the food.
Noman W — Google review
Okay, I know it’s not groundbreaking, but it is Canada, and Timmy’s hits the spot every time. Okay, yes, it’s a Canadian classic, but it really does hit the spot. We grabbed coffee and donuts more than once, and it was always affordable and reliable. Some locations had a few characters hanging around, but hey, that’s city life. Still totally worth it for the iced coffee and old-fashioned donuts.

I went to this Tim Hortons Oct 22, 2025, and like all the other Tim Hortons I go to, order my usual “Breakfast Á La Carté, 2 sausage, 2 cheese cheese, 1 egg” I like it cause it’s keto and any bread gives me heart burn as well. Girl looks confused, gets manager and the manager starts fighting me on “it’s to cheap, we can do sandwich no bread” I don’t want the bread, or extra priced for something I’m not using, nor do I want fake processed cheese. In the end she fought me saying “its to cheap, it’s to cheap! I’ll only do this once” it’s in the system, I’ve never ONCE ever heard it’s to cheap. Maybe all locations need to make a protein breakfast sandwich but there’s nothing wrong when every item has its own price! Unreal. Saturday when I went they punched it in as , cheddar but gave me processed.

Wonderful ambience. Clean and tidy store. Employee are humble and kind. They know what the customer service is.

This is the second time this has happened. The first time I ordered a tropical green tea, the second time a steeped tea — and both times I was given coffee instead. If your staff are not properly trained, they really shouldn’t be put on shift. Please take customer orders seriously.
GiGi — Google review
Tim Hortons never lets me down grabbed a medium double double and a honey cruller this morning, both fresh and tasty. The Friendly drive thru staff got me out in under two minutes. Perfect start to the day!

"Via" served me today and i requested hot latte. He didnot wash the milk jug and second thing which is unhealthy for customers is the milk steamer stick which they dip in to warm up the milk was not cleaned i donot know when did they used that stick last time. Please keep an eye what they are doing with your orders

Cafe
Starbucks, a coffeehouse chain originating from Seattle, is known for its signature roasts and light bites. It offers WiFi availability for customers to enjoy while sipping on their favorite beverages. In addition to its classic menu items, Starbucks also provides gluten-free snacks like apple chips, moon cheese, and roasted nuts. Customers can also indulge in treats such as the marshmallow dream bar.
I give this location a 5 star as they are always fast to serve and prepare the orders. It gets really busy here in mornings and staff are pretty fast and always friendly. There is plenty of space here as well to sit down if you need to relax and enjoy your coffee. The washrooms are always clean as well. Parking is an issue here, so its usually good for pick ups on the go. Its adjacent to the king subway station.
Mohamad B — Google review
I start my weekdays at this Starbucks, usually with an iced Americano and a sandwich. Yesterday, something unbelievable happened — one crazy person in the store suddenly started throwing his food and drinks everywhere. Unfortunately, I was standing right next to them and ended up getting everything all over my clothes. It was an awful experience. But one of the staff members immediately came over with a genuinely caring expression, asking if I was okay and if there was anything he could do to help. That alone meant a lot to me. I didn’t need any compensation — his sincerity was enough. Then this morning, one of the staff members or maybe the manager recognized me and provided truly exceptional service. Thanks to them, I started my day feeling great and it turned into one of the best days I’ve had recently. I’ve been in Toronto for about two months now and visit this store almost every day. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a team maintain such consistently warm smiles and kindness like the staff here. I’m always grateful for this store and the amazing people who work here. I’ll definitely keep coming back! Good luck!

Starbucks is always great, it was us, not known to coffee much. We ordered Cappuccino and it was so tasteful, like we wanted in our mind on that rainy day. Ambience is soothing, traffic view from the cafe is like Hollywood. Staff is very friendly.

Great location. Great customer service. We got our order quickly. The drinks were as expected. It was clean and well organized.
Christian G — Google review
Ghazal totally made my day with her super sweet vibe and incredible service! She’s so positive and hard-working, managing a huge lineup with a big smile. She deserves to be Starbucks’ next CEO
S S — Google review
I approve of the local/famous Canadian alternative, but it's really hard to beat a nitro cold brew from here. Huge space, too - way easier to set up at a laptop than other shops.
Sam K — Google review
I’ve been going to this Starbucks for a while now, mostly ordering through app before I go to work. Everything was great until today, when I placed my order - it showed me the wait time is 30 minutes. I couldn’t cancel it through app, so I waited near the pickup counter for 15 minutes and left with nothing as I had to go to work. This is just so sad, i’ve never seen this location so crowded. Why would you accept orders through app if the orders can’t be fulfilled in a timely manner? I can’t even dispute the transaction or cancel the order - it was showing that somebody is working on my order but clearly, it was way too many orders. Poor baristas and what a greedy corporation
Kate S — Google review
So visited here over the weekend staff weren’t the nicest and a group of them were too busy socializing about how cute someone is. Anyways ordered two cold beverages. The barista made one hot, label said cold vanilla latte! Barista never apologized and made a new one but the cup had spilt coffee on it. Ordered a mocha cookie crumble frappe and the barista added whipped cream to the bottom of the cup and blended it into the beverage and then on top when it said light whipped. They also added some caramel topping which doesn’t come with the drink. Didn’t offer to remake it. No apology. This location is going downhill

Bartholomew Bakery has become a beloved spot in the neighborhood, evident from the long lines that form outside. The bakery offers a heavenly assortment of pastries and treats, with Michael, one of the owners, warmly welcoming visitors and guiding them through the must-try delights. Despite its unassuming exterior, this bakery surprises patrons with its delectable offerings such as croissants, breakfast pizzas, and Focaccia Sandwich.
Best Croissants Ever! If you’re looking for the best croissants in town, this is the place! Flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection — every bite was heavenly. You can really taste the love and skill that goes into making them. The vibe of the place is cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to treat yourself to a pastry (or two!). I can’t wait to come back for more. Highly recommend to any croissant lover — trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
SRI K — Google review
I heard about the place on TikTok and here I am! It was a super hot day outside so stepping inside was perfect. The barista was super friendly and made my iced latte very quickly. Almost too quickly as it tasted like it was a very milk heavy concoction and no taste of espresso. The baking did shine through. The foccacia on the sandwich was soft and gave way to the pistachio, which was remarkably flavorful. The mortadella was a great choice and reminded me of the Bourdain sandwich in the best way. The pastries were super flaky and the pain au chocolate was extremely good, a solid filling and folded very very well with notes of butter. A really good option for baking but marred by its coffee!
Kiran M — Google review
I get the hype. Such a great spot with so many tempting treats and some sandwiches that look awesome for a savoury breakfast or lunch. The pastry in all of the pastry was soft perfectly cooked. Nice super crisp bite each time. I always opt for coffee and tea flavours and a nice coffee flavour in each pastry. And filled… literally bursting with each bite once you break that perfect exterior. It does get messy because of how filled it is, so ensure you have some type of plate or use whatever the pastries come in to keep all that filling from being wasted. Parking is not enough for how viral this spot has gotten since the pandemic. A steady stream of customers keeps coming and when the line subsides, another set of customers comes funneling in. However, they do go through customers fairly quickly. Service was great. Even with the amount of customers coming through, I was never rushed into making a decision. I would just let customers know I am still deciding and let them go first. Great job overall.

Best croissants I've ever had! Incredibly flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect amount of butter, and the flavors of almond and pistachio are strong. It's not overly sweet either. You can tell there's an incredible attention to detail in their work. It's the perfect croissant.
Stan — Google review
Just moved here from NYC and I’ve been in the hunt for my go to cafe. I have definitely found it I am a sourdough lover and baker myself so it’s great to have access to a place that makes it right! In addition to delicious treats! I have been a few times and have not been disappointed. The long lines and busyness gives it away as well! We love the iced vanilla latte and flat whites. Lemonades are also refreshing!
Farwah S — Google review
One of the best bakeries in the city!!! They offer an incredible range—from artisanal pastries and fresh bread to frozen cheesecakes, chicken pies, and sandwiches. Their Caprese and turkey sandwiches are both excellent. The cherry on top? They serve coffee made with De Mello beans. Expect a line on weekends, but it moves quickly. Absolutely worth the drive to Vaughan!
Teghan H — Google review
When this bakery first opened, its pastries were hands-down the best in the GTA—worth the premium price for their generous fillings and premium ingredients, with cookies that delivered pure delight. It became our must-visit spot every time we were back in town. Lately though, we’ve noticed a subtle dip in quality: fillings seem less abundant, and that signature substance doesn't quite match past glory. Here's hoping they reclaim their gold standard soon and keep that original magic for their customers.
V ( — Google review
Their pastries totally lived up to the reviews! We had the almond twice-baked and the pistachio twice-baked croissants, and they were some of the best we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to try more of their pastries next time!

The cafe Rustle and Still Cafe is dedicated to honoring the Vietnamese heritage of its owners. They source their coffee beans directly from Vietnam, and offer traditional Vietnamese breads and desserts. The cafe is located in Toronto's Korea Town, close to another popular restaurant. The authenticity of the cafe's Vietnamese culture is what makes it one of the city's best coffee shops.
I grabbed a flat white quickly before i went to the hair salon. The vibe of the cafe was pretty nice, it seems like a vietnamese cafe. Would love to come back!

Can be hard to find seating and I think with the way they make the food sometimes the room can feel a little smoky? But the banh mi sandwich I had with mixed meats was great and I would come again.
Phoebe C — Google review
Its warm on a hot day but the drinks are fanastic. Loved the pandan matcha and the chae siu bahn mi. The taste on the chocolate hocjicha cookie was light and not too sweet. Besides the heat inside the seating is cozy and great for conversation or a nice cozy view of the k-town.
Cailyn S — Google review
Found this adorable cafe while walking around the area! The cafe was super cozy with people were working, reading, or enjoying the vibes. A couple of people were having the matcha and had to try it for myself! Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations, as it was super milky :( Otherwise, the staff were super lovely and atmosphere was great. I would have stayed longer and had food if there was better matcha.
Sophie — Google review
Loved the bo kho; it was rich, flavorful, and comforting. The filtered coffee was amazing, and the cozy vibes made it a great spot to relax. I also really liked how they made good use of the space for seating. The mild hot sauce was my favorite- it was actually quite spicy for a mild and added the perfect kick to the meal. The only downside was the bread, which was a bit harder than usual. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely come back for the stew and coffee.
Michelle C — Google review
This place does coffee right: a smooth, velvety cappuccino and standout baked goods. The almond croissant was fresh and shatteringly flaky, with a toasty, not-too-sweet filling. Cozy vibe and genuinely friendly staff make it an easy place to linger.
Daria K — Google review
Best Matcha! Try the Matcha Pandan! Service is always so friendly and attentive. Great Banh Mi. Even though there's limited seating, I almost always find somewhere to sit. The only only only thing is that sometimes the temperature in there is very warm or very humid. Still 100% recommend!
Chenise — Google review
I came here last Thursday, March 14th, 2024. I have been wanting to stop in this cafe since July 28th, 2023, when I first went to Koreatown. I ordered their iced matcha pandan latte and their adobo bánh mì. I really love their adobo bánh mì. I would come here again for their bánh mì because it was delicious. I think their iced matcha pandan latte is better in hot than cold because I didn't really taste the pandan, but it was great matcha. The service was great. I couldn't finish my bánh mì, so I asked one of the staff for a bag for my bámh mì. And she gave it right away. That night of that day, I got to reheat my leftover bámh mì, and the bámh mì was still delicious. 😘😋👌 So, fellow people reading this review, come and visit this cafe to eat, study, and hang out. 🫶

Robinson Bread is a must-try for bread and pastry enthusiasts. Patti Robinson's delectable loaves are available at various locations, including Burdock Brewery, Paris Paris, Dufferin Grove, and Junction farmers markets. The selection includes sturdy sourdoughs, seeded ryes, perfect pains au lait, ramp-and-cheese danishes, strawberry croissants, and rhubarb-almond cake. Customers rave about the quality and love put into the products.
Robinson Bread is a true gem for anyone who appreciates high-quality bread and pastries. The aroma of freshly baked bread hits you the moment you walk in, and every loaf is perfectly crusty on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. Their pastries are nothing short of divine—flaky, buttery, and filled with a variety of sweet and savory options that make it hard to choose just one. Sam James coffee shop adds to the charm, offering expertly latte that pairs perfectly with any treat you select. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a perfect spot to relax, whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely afternoon.

Quick stop post graveyard shift. Latte tasted fantastic, ended up buying beans. Almond croissant was made fresh. Purchased two kinds of sourdough to try. Staff was friendly.

Check out @bredgyeats on Instagram for more food posts! This bread has absolutely Stollen my heart, each bite hitting my taste buds with an unmistakably festive flavour and an indulgent dose of marzipan within. Spiced with a warming dose of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, it harmonizes with the burst of sweetness of the marzipan, dried fruit, rum, vanilla and candied orange peel. Contrasted with the nutty crunch of roasted almonds, it's somehow completed with a thick crust of powdered sugar that will make it difficult you sneak a bite when no one's looking (you'll do it anyways). Even if Stollen is not in season, swing by to grab any one of their bakery items, as they've got their croissant game down. A buttery bite, flaky exterior and a delicately airy structure inside makes it the quintessential croissant every French person seeks.
Bredgy L — Google review
The baked goods here are spectacular, every time. From probably the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had to their amazing quiche tart to loaves of every kind of bread you can imagine, the flavors and textures are exactly right. All this available in a cool Sam James coffee bar where you can also get amazing coffee drinks. Fun to watch them making all the goodies behind tall glass walls while you enjoy your treats.
Karl S — Google review
Very friendly and neighbourly bakery with windows to watch the staff make their bread fresh! The selection is standard, but good for a treat every now and then.

Sourdough Bread loaf was under cooked. Inside was gummy and sticky. When I cut through it, the knife blade was left with a sticky residue and the loaf stuck together
Sonia M — Google review
Croissants does not taste like the original ones, they are more like bread, with almost no chocolate in the middle. “French people do not get croissants from this place, you will be disappointed”. Danish was super dry and bitter, not fresh. Cookies were super salty, unable to eat them. Customer service deficient.
Adri B — Google review
Croissant is flakey but needs more butter. No idea who is saying these croissants are good. Green onion bun, however, is awesome. Great contrast with the sesame seeds and cheesey crispy swirls.
