Mediterranean restaurant
Moroccan restaurant
Restaurant
Casablanca @ Madison is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant with locations in Midtown and East Memphis. The restaurant offers traditional and vegetarian-friendly dishes, including falafel, hummus, grape leaves, baba ghanoush, grilled chicken kabob skewers, lemongrass tofu, Egyptian hawawshi, pita french fries, and grilled chicken salad with phenomenal dressing. It's known for its Moroccan tea and homemade hot sauces.
We got Casablanca to cater our wedding. They were incredibly easy to work with, the food was delicious, and the portions were extremely generous. Our guests absolutely loved it and were coming up to me all night to ask where we got it from. I know everyone talks about how great of a restaurant they are (very deserved) but their catering rocks too.

If the platter with the lamb shank (bone in) is always served this moist and tender, I will come back here multiple times a month. I give the lamb shank 5 stars. The seasoning that it was braised in was awesome. Very worth trying. Other dishes we tried were about 3-4 stars for this type of food, but we will be back for the lamb shank again and to see what other surprises are on the menu. Menu prices are very fair! Oh make sure to try the tea! So freshing and relaxing.
Brent — Google review
The restaurant gave comforting vibes on a rainy Saturday evening. There weren't many people in the place. Our waitress seemed very distracted and didn't give us good service. I tried getting her attention several times, but she never looked our way. There was a young male server who finally came over to help us. The food was absolutely delicious and they were huge portions. When paying the bill I gave the waitress cash, and she shorted me $10. I would definitely go back, though, for the food.
Andrea R — Google review
Casablanca has always been reliable - but the kitchen expansion was definitely worth it, especially with the new cafe they recently opened inside. The refreshers are a great cool down in these hot days, the espresso is smooth and well-balanced, and the traditional Yemeni coffee has a rich, authentic flavor - even if you're not a coffee person, you'd enjoy it. Food-wise, it's the same quality you expect: flavorful, fresh, and consistent. Service is fast, and the overall experience just feels more complete now. Definitely worth checking out.
Sulman A — Google review
The Philly cheesesteak and falafel are the perfect lunch combination! The portions are more than enough and the staff is always very nice!
Toya W — Google review
I recently purchased a couscous dish, which I typically enjoy, and the experience was, regrettably, subpar. The portion size, relative to the cost, was smaller than anticipated and did not offer adequate value. Additionally, the accompanying sauce was insufficient. Based on my experience with couscous, including its cultural significance in Algerian cuisine, the overall experience was disappointing. Consequently, I will not be ordering couscous from this establishment again, as the value proposition was not met. Please refer to the provided video for additional context.
Riadh B — Google review
The only positive thing I can say is the food was edible. The spanakopita had been over heated in the microwave and phyllo dough layers were soggy. My moussaka (pictured) was over heated in the microwave that the beshamel sauce was stuck to the inside of the bowl. They added some sauce to hide the fact, with undercooked chickpeas and potatoes. The lamb in my boyfriend’s lamb chop sandwich was warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside. The ginger, sage, mint tea was sickeningly sweet. The food was edible but of very poor quality. Our table, along door knobs were sticky. Not sure if from poor cleaning or over use of cleaning products. I will not be back.
Janaya S — Google review
Casablanca never disappoints. Best grilled salmon in Memphis. I eat there about 3 times every week. The hot tea is delicious and the chocolate mouse is always a treat. Servers are also pleasant. Demaris is excellent!

Restaurant
Earnestine & Hazel's is a low-key bar and grill located in the South Main Arts District of Memphis. The two-story building has a rich history, once serving as a 1930s-era pharmacy before being transformed into a cafe by the hair-stylist sisters Earnestine and Hazel. The establishment was previously known for its association with a nearby music joint called Club Paradise.
Classic old dive bar with fantastic greasy spoon hamburgers. The soul sauce makes them special. Highly recommended.
Brian F — Google review
Earnestine & Hazel's is the epitome of an old-school dive bar! There's only one food item on the menu--the Soul Burger. You can get a single or double, and it comes with a bag of chips. I'm not one to eat grilled onions on my burger, but I went out on a limb this time and tried them. Oh. My. GOODNESS!!!!! The Soul Burger is AMAZING, and Top Chef Tim is the best! He definitely works his magic with the burgers! I visited right when they opened, and JB was working the bar. She was SUPER cool and great to talk to! My drink was simple--bourbon with a splash of Coke--but it was a good one! They say this place starts really hoppin' around 9 or 10 pm and goes until the wee hours of the morning. That's past my bedtime, but maybe I'll check it out one of these days when I'm there with my husband. I'll definitely be back!
Ashley W — Google review
This is the best bar in all of the United States, and also has THE BEST BURGER I’ve ever had. It’s most authentic bar and such a great hang. Saw a great little duo upstairs, and there was a band downstairs as well. I can’t stop recommending this joint.
Dylan A — Google review
Fancy HoleNThe Wall 🤷🏾‍♀️ Well... Ambiance is definitely available. Service was nice, she kept getting me water even though - customers are supposed to get their own. The burger was a burger - had a double burger at about 20.00 - def not worth that. But, I am thinking that this is a "Cheersy" type of spot where you just know you are known and come for that purpose. Burger was alright - not bad at all just not worth the fare.
ARQue H — Google review
Best of the best long standing dive bar with an award winning cheeseburger (and that's the only food they serve) with rumored haunting on the second floor that hailed as a brothel in the good days. For drinks, they have what they have, but you'll like it. Those behind the bar are awesome, and add to the cool vibe. Karaoke night is fun! Must visit in Memphis, great for late night cravings after a night on Beale St. You'll have stories to tell after a visit here.

Incredible drinks. Bartenders were awesome. I said surprise me and was served a great cocktail. The Soul Burger was FIRE!! Allison killed it!!
Bill W — Google review
Went on a Saturday early afternoon….Allison was behind the bar serving and cooked our burgers! 10/10 customer service and food! She kept our drinks refilled and was so nice! Burger was amazing ($10)

I think the cover band was YUBU. played great songs to get you dancing. The musicianship was top-notch. The guitar lead on Bad Co was phenomenal! Customer service was very attentive and friendly. We all had a fun time!

Silky O'Sullivan's is a lively Irish pub located on Beale Street in Memphis, offering a unique experience for visitors. The pub, housed in a century-old building, features an outdoor patio where patrons can enjoy Southern pub grub and ice-cold beer. One of the main attractions at Silky O'Sullivan's is the presence of beer-drinking goats in a specially designed pen on the patio. Visitors can interact with these unusual mascots and even feed them through the fence.
No matter which door you go in, it’s always good. I’ve been to a bunch of other spots on Beale and tonight (Tuesday) I think I got the best food so far. It’s a place open since 1973 and a lot of people come here for the oysters and beer. Known for large crowds of party people. Has live diving goats. See the video. And the service by Katy so Awesome made thing that much better.
John K — Google review
Traveling home to Pennsylvania and we had to stop in Memphis and visit Beale Street. Many eating options on Beale Street but we decided on the Silky O'Sullivan's. My son wanted the brisket, and I had the brisket sandwich. Very good service since they were just opening up for the day and getting ready for live music. Plenty of seating and good food and drink options. Paid parking close by. Enjoyed Silky O'Sullivan's on Beale Street.
Richard S — Google review
If you’re visiting Beale Street in Memphis, Silky O’ Sullivan’s is an absolute must! We went during the day and had an incredible time listening to awesome live music. Buddy the great entertainer played all of our requests, which made it an extra fun and personal experience. The drinks were perfect for day drinking. I especially loved having coffee with spirits to keep the energy going. The staff was unbelievably friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in! I was surprised there was no cover charge, especially considering the quality of the entertainment. Prices were very reasonable, especially for a prime spot on Beale Street. They have live music going throughout the day and night, so no matter when you stop by, you’re guaranteed a great show! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great music, friendly service, and an authentic Beale Street experience without breaking the bank!
How L — Google review
We stopped during the day for a cocktail. We returned later for the Piano Bar. I have to admit the kindness from doorman during our day visit is what made us want to return. It was a BLAST!!! If you wanted to be part of the fun, they included you. If you wanted to sit back and enjoy the show, it was just as enjoyable. We didn't have any food, just cocktails and entertainment. The door man made sure we got to our Uber and was taken care of.
Sandy K — Google review
If you’re ever on Beale Street, Silky O’Sullivan’s is a must-stop spot! The atmosphere is always lively, the live music is great, and the cheese fries are absolutely awesome—crispy, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. Perfect for sharing (or not!). Whether you’re sitting inside or enjoying the patio, it’s a fun place to kick back with friends and soak up the Memphis vibe. Highly recommend!
Jason N — Google review
We visited beale street as part of our memphis tour. It was 901 and labour day and was extremely busy. I spotted silkys as we walked down the street and made a beeline for it on the way back up. We were seated straight away. Service was great portion size was very good and price was reasonable. There was a musician setting up as we were leaving and the place was starting to fill up a bit. I imagine later in the day and in the evening it gets quite busy and somewhat louder
James S — Google review
Good environment, great band tonight. We didn't eat here and the guy serving our area was inattentive so lower rating but a good big outdoor hangout and food looked decent. Fun place.
Hermonator4 — Google review
Cool old place. Lots to look at. When we walked in, the employee barely looked up from whatever she was doing and told us to seat ourselves. We were a group of four and we all ordered a drink and lunch. I ordered chili cheese fries and really enjoyed them. While were there, a guy came in to set up to play guitar. The bathroom was decent. Probably a really fun bar on weekends with live music.

The Green Beetle is a historic tavern in Memphis, originally opened in 1939 and rumored to have been a speakeasy during Prohibition. It was revitalized as a hip joint in 2012 and offers Southern-influenced comfort food with live entertainment on weekends. The tavern is known for serving the best beer in town and a chocolatey-boozy milkshake for adults called the Bushwacker.
Great spot downtown with great portion sizes. Incredible diversity in their menu especially with burgers. The service was very kind and helpful, and relatively quick considering they had one waitress at lunchtime. Plenty of decorations which add tremendously to the atmosphere of being a small local place.
Jaspre S — Google review
Looks are deceiving! The al fresco area up front had two customers but when I walked inside it was fairly busy. The two ladies ( Maria was the bar keep) and cook were busy taking care of the patrons! The reviews stated that the food was pretty good, especially the burgers! They were pretty accurate! I had the spicy Diablo with Monterey pepper jack and grilled sliced jalapeños. It was fantastic!!!!! Give this little classic venue a try the next time you’re in Memphis! Great , friendly staff, amazing burgers, cold drinks, and a lively vibe!
Ken C — Google review
We dropped in for dinner and had a good experience. The service was top notch and the food was good overall. Brianna was our server and she was awesome. We started with the Chicken Fajita Tots which were delicious. We then had the Fried Mac Bites which were good also. I decided to try the fried catfish plate with fries. My wife and I both ordered the catfish. We both agreed the catfish was ok but didn’t live up to the hype based on the previous reviews. Next time I’m here, I will try a different entree. Our kids had the burgers and chicken sandwich which they said were good. The kitchen closes early so you should plan to be here no later than around 9pm or so. There is a nice bar with frozen drinks also. Don’t forget to tip your server. Overall, this was a good experience and we will be back.
Roeshell R — Google review
This was a great spot to bring our family for an earlier dinner and I loved learning about the history of the restaurant! We split a catfish basket which was great, but I feel like the deviled egg potato salad almost stole the show for me! Great beer on tap too.
Maria J — Google review
The waitress was terrific the bartender is an old grumpy guy and definitely will not be back due to him food was good overall the drinks were garbage. The bartender was too good to put a sugar rim on the drink so the waitress make sure everything was done
Johnathon B — Google review
Summer was our server, she was nice! The food was on the ehhh side! Which I'm surprised! Typically bar food chicken tenders and fries are supposed to be superior but the tenders were over fried, which made them appear dark and the so were the fries, which kind of left them greasy. The GRILLED chicken however was excellent! That is something that no one can deny! I did order the bettle burger, I ordered it to be medium well, they did a good job. Burger was seasoned well, and tasted nice. Over all, I would visit again!
Janelle A — Google review
Great atmosphere! Nice beer selection. Friendly staff.
Scott D — Google review
Stayed in Memphis for a week and this place was the worst decision of the entire trip. Went in by myself, maybe 6 other people there. 2 workers standing at the bar, said hi and took my order. After that no one else talked to me again till my order came out 30mins later. No one offered me a drink the entire time I was there. Not very welcoming at all. I got a tavern salad that was fantastic. The pastrami sandwich was like eating leather.

Restaurant
Phở Binh is a beloved Vietnamese eatery located in Midtown, known for its delicious lemongrass tofu and beef dishes, as well as a variety of soups. While it was once famous for its affordable lunch buffet, the restaurant now offers takeout options only. The menu includes their popular dry-fried Lemongrass Tofu, which is generously portioned for multiple meals.
First off, the lemongrass tofu is the finest presentation of this soy-based protein I've ever had. In addition, many great menu options abound, ranging from vermicelli and stir fry to lo mein and spring rolls. Several great soups are in tow as well (hence the name) such as the curry tofu and the hot and sour. Having frequented this place since 2009, I can vouch for the consistency and quality of this family-owned business. One of my favorite restaurants in Memphis.
Robbie H — Google review
The Lemongrass tofu is amazing. My son is a vegetarian but I'm not so when he tell me about the restaurant I was kind of skeptical. But 3 years later I can say this is one of my favorite places to get food. The service is great they know you by face when you come in makes you feel appreciated as customer. The food is always fresh made to order if you want to have something different but delicious please try this restaurant you won't be sorry. You must try the lemongrass tofu it is amazing.

Vietnamese Chinese Restaurant with a lot of Vegetarian options. The food is really mouth watering with authentic taste. Eating with Chopsticks was an amazing experience for me in itself. The Lemongrass Tofu, Egg Rolls, Veg Fried Rice and one more dish, all of which were amazing...
Shray G — Google review
Very kind and speedy service! Horrible egg rolls. Decent broth, average entrees, but EXCELLENT shrimp. Overall, pretty good food, but poor value.
Christopher G — Google review
You’ve never had tofu like this!! I consider myself a bit of a tofu connoisseur and my goodness this is some of the best tofu I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten it from all over Asia,we’re so lucky to have them! The portions are enormous(if often have it for lunch and dinner) and it’s the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Can’t recommend it enough! As a bonus the staff has always been super sweet and friendly!
Rachel M — Google review
Buffet was not maintained. Mostly fried food and tofu. My 84 year old mom couldn't eat what was on buffet and they would not let her order off the menu, even though they did do last week. Lots of folks like this place though. It's always packed.
Cathy S — Google review
If you are anywhere near the zoo- or even if you have to drive across Memphis, place your order and enjoy the huge portions, cheap prices, and delicious food. You will be grateful! We got 3 vegetarian tofu dishes plus spring rolls and they were all amazing, though I’m sure the meat dishes are good as well.
Ryan S — Google review
Absolutely love Pho Binh! Is one of my top 10 restaurants in Memphis. We usually get the buffet but sometimes order from the menu, the phos are great! The wings are to die for! Best wings in town! Also the egg rolls are the best! I could have them everyday... :) the different kinds of tofu they have in the buffet are delicious. Seating is limited so I recommend getting there early to secure a spot, I highly recommend this place I could have lunch there everyday!

Food was very good and the nice gentleman gave us a good amount of samples so we knew what to order. Counter style service, and the food came out quickly and was freshly prepared. It was a little warm in there, not sure if the AC was on the fritz but perfectly tolerable. I will come back!

Trying new things! They haven’t let me down yet! The staff is nice and let me try some stuff not gonna attempt to say what it was but it was like some lamb or something grilled! Mane it was good fam! I love the grilled chicken but I really love the 🔥 gyro meat, yellow rice, hummas, and fries! I kinda like all the sides and just alternate to whatever I’m feeling! I love the pita bread but whenever they run out of pita bread they give you these chopped garlic bread things and I don’t like those! 😂 No fault to them! Just prefer that pita bread!😍 I tried the falafel and it taste to bland for my liking! 🤨 But it’s a great place to eat and I rather eat here than spend my money at all those other fast food spots around here! If you looking for some good quality food that’s fresh, then come here! One of my go to spots and sometimes I feel like they get sick of me lol 😂 Great spot to eat especially after a heavy workout at the gym! 💪🏾
Marcus P — Google review
Pretty solid, some of the meat was a little dry, but overall delicious for a take and go type of place. Good overall value. Salad was fresh.
Rebekah H — Google review
Total disaster! Visited this place after a long time. Used to be good. Had the falafel platter and the spicy chicken pita. Only the Falafel was good and the rice in the platter was so hard and not eatable. The hummus and the dressing was bad and had foul smell. Pita was terrible and the pita chips that it came with were soggy. NOT recommended.

Front Street Deli, Memphis' oldest deli, is a cozy cafe located in downtown Memphis. It gained fame as the filming location for The Firm and has recently reopened after a renovation. While it no longer features Tom Cruise memorabilia, it still offers delicious sandwiches and breakfast options. The menu includes hearty breakfast classics like pastrami and fried eggs on a croissant or bacon and sausage on a steamed biscuit. Visitors can also enjoy signature tomato bread and themed sandwiches named after famous movies.
One of the best sandwich places I have been too, I'm typically here every week. The stone hero is great, the meatball is great, some of the best chicken salad I have had. It's a small place so it can get crowded around lunch but they do great work I highly recommend!

Definitely my new Favorite sud shop, hand down. Food is amazing with fresh ingredients. The service was great and very efficient. The atmosphere is vintage rustic with a cozy vibe. Highly recommend!!

Walked in immediately recognized the menu, knew what I wanted hands down. Probably the best Deli in Memphis and I have been trying them all, definitely worth the trip downtown.

Quaint shop, reminds you of an old school deli! The food is really good-just like those shops you would have visited with your grandparents. Excellent macaroni salad, delicious meatball sub-more than enough for two to share a sandwich. The marinara sauce is perfect and the meatballs are large and juicy! While you’re there, satisfy your sweet tooth with a homemade brownie or cookies. Customer service was spot on, I felt appreciated and I can’t wait to go back and try the NY!

Wow! Had the special which was a candied bacon BLT. It was absolutely delicious! Big portions. We shared a half of one and took the other half back to our hotel to eat later. Pasta salad and green salad with Italian dressing so good and fresh. The owner is working on getting his liquor license….a beer and one of these sandwiches would be even better! Very friendly service….definitely recommend this place! Short walk from the Hyatt!

Being a delivery driver downtown is difficult but the guys there made my job easy. They were helpful and friendly and helped me pick out an amazing sandwich! Literally, soft bread, yummy meat. I don’t know what it’s called but it’ll get it again. Thank you!

Best sandwiches in Memphis and the bread is perfect. Super friendly staff. I live in Midtown and come here during lunch because it's THAT much better than anywhere else.
Annabelle R — Google review
This nasty man got an attitude because I instructed him to wash his hands before preparing my food. He was sweeping the floor when i walked in. Barely acknowledged me, granted it was closing time. Pulled the paper to wrap my sandwich when I asked "Are you gonna wash your hands first?" He responded, "I'm gonna put on gloves." One, you've already touched the paper that my sandwich is going on, and two, that is no substitute for hand hygiene. They are a combination. So unless you want a dust sandwich, probably not here. He eventually complied, but how many of you are willing to instruct someone on servsafe procedures?

Chick-fil-A when are y’all gonna open back up? It’s been months. What kinda construction are y’all doing that it’s taking this long😂. The building looked fine to me. I use to come here every morning before I went in for work. Now I’ve been subjected to “Ronald”. I need compensation for pain and suffering or something when y’all open back up. This not right. 😩

First time I stop by this location due to taking my son to Lebohneur. Ordered his usual HASHBROWN bowl. No Hashbrowns !! He’s autistic so IYKYK !!!

I ordered 2 sandwiches and a large fry. I was supposed to get 4 honey roasted bbq sauces, 1 honey mustard, 2 sriracha, and 1 cilantro lime and I got zero (0!) sauces in my order. I didn’t noticed until I got home. They didn’t even say my pleasure, so disappointed! Edit: one of my sandwiches didn’t even have the right bread. This is the Grilled spicy deluxe with the wrong bread.

Someone please pray for this place. Service is at an all time low. How is it that every chick fil a I’ve ever been to is fast and efficient except for this one? Been waiting in the mobile drive thru line for over 20 minutes for a milkshake. Was third in line when I got here. Don’t understand.

Food was great except the requests I asked for weren't adhered to. The most upsetting part are the female employees who congregate in the bathroom. The bathrooms are already small so that does not leave much room. Unfortunately, I mistakenly hit one with the door as I was going into the bathroom because her and 2 other employees were just standing in the bathroom talking and i didnt know they were right behind the door. I of course apologized; however, it wouldn't have happened if they weren't congregating in the bathroom talking.

Waited 30 minutes for shakes and some fries. These were the fries that came out. Looks like nobody cleaned the sifted the fryer oil since the start of business today. Tastes like old oil and crushed dreams.
Michael C — Google review
Placed my order at the drive through line. They were out of macaroni and cheese(it happens). Ordered a couple of combos with dipping sauce and two milkshakes. When I got to the pick up window, I found out they were out of milkshakes as well. I got a refund for the shakes but not before being charged for them twice. I had to ask for the sauces because they forgot them, as well. This is not normal service for a Chik-fil-A.
Rafael V — Google review
Great attitudes and customer service at this location. Line is always long but food is fresh and tasty. They’ve gotten my order wrong a few times and haven’t felt like driving back. Customer service over the phone usually is no help surprisingly given their customer service reputation.

Cedars Restaurant in Cordova-Appling offers a vibrant dining experience, showcasing the delightful flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean region. This lively establishment has gained popularity, boasting an impressive rating of 4.5 stars from 104 reviews on Yelp. Situated at 694 N. Germantown Parkway, it is a top choice for those seeking Lebanese cuisine, halal dishes, and an overall Mediterranean dining experience.
I always enjoy trying new foods. I had the arabic shawarma, Dubai chocolate, and I sampled a couple of others. The shawarma was fantastic, a nice crunch, not too strongly over sauced. I don't know what was in it, but I certainly want another. Dubai chocolate... oh man. Absolutely delicious. Creamy chocolate and a hint of baklava. A first, hopefully not the last time I have some of that. I also had some Arabic tea, which was very good. I don't drink much other than water. This thing has me amped up. I'm guessing a caffeine thing. I highly recommend it without sugar. The place is clean and staf are super friendly. I am assuming that the grill makes a pungent smell that stings a bit. Either way, I really enjoyed the location. The food was amazing, and everyone was super cool. Loved it!

Cedar’s in Memphis is a fantastic spot for authentic Lebanese food. The chicken shawarma was perfectly spiced and juicy, while the beef kabob had an incredible smoky flavor and was tender with every bite. Their hummus and pita were absolutely fresh, homemade, and delicious—definitely some of the best I’ve had. The place was spotless, and it felt very comfortable to dine in. There was a gentleman behind the counter who provided excellent service—friendly, helpful, and really made me feel welcome. If you’re in Memphis, Cedar’s is a must-visit!

I absolutely loved my experience From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such warmth and genuine friendliness. The staff here truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and it makes all the difference. Now, let's talk about the food – it's simply delicious! I ordered shawarma plate combo, and every bite was bursting The meat was perfectly cooked and juicy, the sauces were incredible, and the fresh ingredients really shined through. You can tell they put a lot of care into preparing their dishes. If you're looking for fantastic shawarma paired with incredibly kind service, this is definitely the place to go. Queen of Sheba is a Yemeni restaurant that offers an incredible dining experience. The menu features authentic flavors, with standout dishes like lamb haneeth with rice, lamb chops with rice, and lamb soup. The atmosphere immerses diners in Yemeni culture, while the prompt service ensures a delightful experience. Customers praise the outstanding customer service and generous portion sizes. The restaurant's delicious food and friendly staff make it a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.
My recent visit to Queen of Sheba was a delightful experience, and it all started with my son’s insistence on dining in. As we approached the establishment, initially, we couldn’t locate the entrance. A friendly young lady noticed our confusion and warmly greeted us, guiding us inside. Her kindness extended throughout our visit, particularly in her interactions with my son, which added a personal touch to our meal. Upon being seated, we placed our order, and the service continued to impress. When our food arrived, it was nothing short of spectacular. The dishes were fresh, bursting with flavor, and the enticing aroma elevated the entire dining experience. Queen of Sheba truly excels in both hospitality and culinary excellence.

Authentic and delicious Yemeni food with friendly service! Enjoyed the sun tea, lamb liver over cheese, tandoori bread, and chicken over rice. Amazing flavors!

I highly recommend this authentic restaurant! We used to taste many Yemeni restaurant in Saudi Arabia for five years! We tried the Lamb Haneeth and Kunafa! The lamb Haneeth costs $21.99, and Kunafa costs $6.99, and the naan bread costs $1.50. In lamb Haneeth meal, salad or soup is offered! Realize that they will charge service fee 4% and additional tips are appreciated! Kunafa is pretty yummy and authentic. They used the healing equipment that I saw in Saudi Arabia, not with the microwave oven. Parking is offered and there is a Jerusalem grocery market nearby!

I ain't here for dinner for the first time and the food was great, we had the beef Shawarma and chicken song with the I think it was yemini bread. The atmosphere was traditional Middle Eastern with Middle Eastern music I definitely plan on coming back the service was a bit slow because they were feeling a lot of to-go orders so if the service was more attentive I would give the service a better rating but overall it was a good experience and the food was great so I'll definitely plan on coming back. They also had fresh dates as an appetizer and those were really good.

Great meal! The babaganoush was good, loved the tandoori bread. We got the beef and lamb liver over hummus. The hummus was so creamy. We agreed that the dishes could have used a little more flavor but enjoyed it all.

We reached the restaurant around the time of iftari, we were served a few dates and water to break our fast. The food was very delicious. Had the lentil soup, Fahsa and lamb haneeth. Alex's Tavern is a legendary Memphis institution that comes alive late at night, making it the perfect spot for those who want to experience the city's nightlife. This classic dive bar is known for its potent drinks, shuffleboard, and old-school jukeboxes. The wood-paneled walls are steeped in stories, and the place is always buzzing with the excitement of sports nights. The menu features delicious BBQ meals, including their famous Greek burger seasoned with secret Greek seasonings.
Can’t beat this spot—quick to call it the best dive bar in Memphis; honestly thinking it might be the best dive bar I’ve ever stepped foot in. Cheap libations and excellent food—topped off by one incredible atmosphere. Cash only!

Great place to hang out. Bar is well stocked. Jukebox is classic. Food is OG with some of the BEST ribs, wings, and burgers in Memphis. Old school and safe. Try it don’t miss it.
Bob K — Google review
If you’ve been to Alex’s, you know the atmosphere is awesome. The food is great but pretty expensive for a dive bar. If you go, get the wings, Greek burger, and gumbo. The service is hit or miss. Last time we went, the bartender was so enamored with talking with two guys at the bar, he seemed to forget he had 7 tables waiting to give him an order lol. He seemed more concerned with chilling with his buds than doing his job. I get it’s endearing sometimes for a dive bar to have cranky, slow servers. But having bad service while the food is overly expensive? Not great. Still love this place though. Great Memphis establishment.

Alex's Tavern might be my favorite place to watch sports. It's the place to go for the NCAA Tournament when you have games for hours the first weekend. Must try the Greek Burger and the Wings! Also they've got shuffleboard - so good.

Happy Greek Cafe, situated on the Highland Strip near the University of Memphis, offers a fusion of Greek and Palestinian cuisines. Similar to Chipotle, patrons can customize their meal by choosing between a sandwich or bowl and selecting from an array of toppings. The cafe is known for its delectable gyro, shawarma, hummus, and tzatziki. Visitors recommend trying the hummus bowl with various toppings and dressings along with chicken shawarma or gyro meat.
My brothers and I went here and ordered 3 lamb gyros, falafel, and a salad. The food was delicious. The gyros weren’t dry and were flavorful. Customer service was great as well. We will come back again. 😊

Stumbled across this place by accident and boy, were we glad! Huge gyros with flavorful meat and prices were reasonable. The salad was fresh with quality ingredients. My only suggestion would be to clean the walls and update the restroom paint. It was fairly clean but looks really run down. The young lady working the counter was very sweet and friendly.

What a find! The Happy Greek is a great little Greek cafe located near the University of Memphis. It's small, but the folks are super friendly and the food is delicious. I had a gyro and my wife had a hummus bowl. We split an excellent Greek salad. Couldn't have been better! If you go, be aware that almost all the tables are for two. There's only one that would accommodate more. But for a cozy dinner, it's hard to beat! Highly recommended! We will be back.

We had a great night out. The mother is so friendly, we felt like we were amongst family. The service was amazing. I was craving a gyro and this place took care of that need. I also tried the galaktoboureko, which is a lot easier to eat than pronounce. But it was fun trying to get it right. My husband wanted to go back the next day but we ran out of time on our visit. Amazing experience. The food is fresh, full of authentic herbs and spices and presented beautifully. Our group of 4 all left with leftovers because the portions are generous and fairly priced. The service by Weal was welcoming and friendly. He did a wonderful job making our meal perfect. The restaurant is impeccably clean, bright and appointed with curved booths, perfect for small or large group conversations. This is a favorite restaurant in Memphis! Included is a picture of my meal, The Vegetarian Platter. Delicious!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ali Baba Restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. We ordered the Family Grill Platter for $107.0, and it was absolutely amazing! The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, and the generous portions made it an excellent choice for sharing. The service was outstanding—our server was attentive, polite, and ensured that everything was to our liking. What made the experience even more special was the personal touch from Chef Abu Firas, who came to our table to greet us. His warmth and friendliness truly added a unique touch to the meal, making us feel like valued guests. The ambiance was lovely as well, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for families and friends. I highly recommend Ali Baba for anyone craving Mediterranean cuisine. Food review: - hummus was really creamy which was unusual for me. Im glad i gave it a shot because it was the best thing about the meal. So yummy and fresh. - pita bread was not good. Hard, stiff, no flavor. I would get pita elsewhere to dip in the hummus. - got the chicken and lamb shawarma. The chicken was dry but the lamb was really good. Order the lamb. - rice was delicious. - comes with sides of grilled tomato (half-warm) and “salad” which is easily forgettable. I would come back here to try other lamb dishes and get some different sides.

We had the family platter and it was absolutely fantastic. The hummus and yogurt sauce started everything off and it was amazing. The lamb, beef, chicken kebabs that came with the dinner were amazing. We were really happy to find this place in Memphis! On top of all of that the deserts were great and the waiter we had did everything perfectly. He checked on us, was attentive, but left us alone to sit around and chat for quite awhile. We've had delivery a few times, and it was really good. But in person, it was even better. I can't say better things about Ali Baba and would recommend this to anyone.

Global Café, located in Crosstown Concourse, offers a diverse range of international cuisine from various regions such as Sudan and North Africa. The Sudanese section of the café features dishes like African peanut soup, dama with rous, and sambusa, while the North African part serves basbousa for dessert. The café's mission is to introduce the community to the culinary and cultural heritage of refugee and immigrant communities in Memphis.
A friend recommended Global Cafe for lunch, and I’m so glad she did! It’s such a lovely spot with a relaxed atmosphere and great service. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter, then find a seat—either inside or outside—and they’ll bring your food to you. I ordered the chicken tacos paired with a fresh margarita to top if off. The food was flavorful and the margarita hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu - I'm really curious to try the quesadillas! Overall, Global Cafe offers great food, a great chill vibe, and a solid dining experience. Absolutely worth a visit.

Delicious food and excellent service. It's very busy, so there's a line to order. I tried to order from the table using a QR code, but it was difficult. Highly recommended!
Eliza V — Google review
I’ve been coming to Global Cafe since they opened and it’s always been a favorite. The food usually never disappoints, and I love the variety of global cuisines. Recently, the food has been inconsistent and disappointing unfortunately. I took my mom out for dinner and she chose the Thupka and I ordered the Plantain Soup. The Thupka was way too spicy for her (she was frustrated because nowhere on the menu does it indicate that it’s spicy), and the meat was missing, so I gave her my Plantain Soup and boxed the Thupka to bring home to my partner and decided to order another Plantain Soup for myself. The first bowl of soup was overflowing with chicken and yucca root but didn’t have a single piece of plantain in it…the second bowl of soup had chicken, and not a single piece of yucca root - there were two pieces of plantain in the soup. Just a bit frustrating for the soups to be so inconsistent, in the span of 10 minutes. I’ve noticed in the past that dishes usually always come out a bit different than the time before, but to not have plantain in a soup when it’s the main event feels kind of silly. The service was also a bit disappointing compared to how it usually is - we had to ask for a box multiple times and at one point one of the staff took my mojito before I was finished drinking it. I will keep going to Global and supporting of course! Just some food for thought.

A group of friends and I travelled to Memphis for a little day trip, and one of them requested that we go to Global Cafe, their favorite restaurant in Memphis. They are gluten free, and so we went knowing that there would at least be food available for them. I ordered the Fajita de Pollo Wrap, my friend got the Asado Bowl, and my other two friends got the Chicken Shawarma and Street Tacos. We decided to eat outside as it was a good day out, but the inside is a vibe too. Definitely a cafeteria type vibe, which is great for meeting new people and of course experiencing different cultures together(hence the name). I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this cafe. Our food came, and all of my friends' food looked amazing. Mine looked a little lack luster, but I tried not to judge a book by its cover. I took one bite of my wrap and really wasn't that impressed. My chicken was dry, and the chips and salsa that came with it were pretty bland, only spicy. I did enjoy the street tacos, but the chicken in the Shawarma also tasted pretty dry. We needed to add a lot of sauce to make it better. My friend's asado bowl looked pretty good and of course they ate all of it, so I'm not sure on the taste of that, but it might be the only good thing that came out of our four orders, in my opinion. Our service was helpful, and so I can't necessarily blame them for the food. Overall, it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but the food, to me, isn't all that great.

Wonderful food and great service! We went for the deals on taco Tuesday! We had pollo guisado and carnitas tacos and you cannot leave without having the cheese and potato empanadas! The margaritas were delicious, strong and flavorful. Even with a line, food came out in a timely manner and the staff is very friendly.

Great, multi-ethnic restaurant located in Crosstown Concourse. They offer foods from several different countries within this venue. Although I cannot speak on the authenticity of the dishes, the food and flavor of what I had was absolutely excellent. I ordered the hummus and pita as an appetizer. I will say I am not used to having cumin added to my hummus but it was a nice twist on a good dish and I was pleasantly surprised. As may main dish I ordered the kuku paka, which is a Kenyan curry with chicken in it. It was a very good dish and the portion size was very big. There were several other dishes on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely visit again to eat at this wonderful establishment.

The Tiramisu was very tasty and a good texture, impressive for just this as not all can do justice for Tiramisu. But Not too many vegetarian option except salad and that was still pricey around 19$. No Falafel . The meat options weren’t too many too. It’s just the grilled chicken, steak, lamb, kabab. And thats50$ for a person?
Swats — Google review
As a gluten free plant based vegan, I could clearly tell from the salad bar area what I could and couldn’t have. The dinner salad bar only was $20. I also got the Mediterranean iced tea which was ok for me, but I probably wouldn’t have it again. As long as you are ok with being around meat and chicken, it was a good option for salad only vegan option. It is a good place to go with meat eaters, so they can get what they want & you still have plenty of options. Cold options: lettuce, olives, cut up tomatoes and cucumbers, etc. Hot options: yellow rice, potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, roasted broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, green beans, etc. My friends enjoyed the all you can eat salad bar, chicken, steak, lamb, etc. They compared it to Texas de Brazil, and said they may like the salad bar options better. They mentioned the $50-$60 for there meals were a bit high, but tasted good. The service lost points for hostess continually asking if we had reservations, so apparently we should of made them. The waiter was ok, but the cards for indicating if you want more meat was not working since they kept on asking even when my friends had no side up. They also kept asking me even with the salad bar only card. All things considered, we had a nice ladies night out dinner here.

Stopped in for the first time with the family last night. The food was really good, tune service was even better. If you like meat, definitely give Tannoor a try, they keep your plate full. Salad bar has a great selection as well. Meat is NOT over seasoned, which was my worry when going. It might actually be a little under seasoned. Definitely give these guys a try.
Richey O — Google review
My family ( a party of 13) visited this restaurant yesterday evening for my grandmother's 81st birthday. The establishment was clean, quiet, and cozy. The pricing was clear and they provided us with excellent customer service, making us feel valued and important. Additionally, their menu options cater to a wide range of tastes. I especially enjoyed that they had a vegan and vegetarian option, which was awesome since my sister and I don't eat meat. However, one small thing to keep in mind is I believe maybe due to the restaurant's culture, the salad bar side items will not be piping hot, but they were still yummy. Another, the drinks weren't fresh, but besides those minor hiccups, my favorite was the grilled pineapple for dessert. Based on my experience, I will be returning and recommending this restaurant to others. Thank you Tannoor Grill management and servers for ensuring my grandmother had a wonderful birthday.

We drove an hour to eat here for our anniversary, and it was well worth the drive. We love how authentic the salad bar is. My fave was all the grilled veggies and the seasoned potatoes. The sirloin and lamb chops were fantastic. The real surprise was the spiced grilled pineapple. They bring it for dessert after the meal, but you should ask for some with your meats. It acts as a great palette cleanser, a break from the rich meats. We are planning to come back next month for my birthday. Also, we enjoyed the soothing instrumental music. I always like it when a restaurant plays authentic music. Hubbie got the chocolate mouse pie for dessert and it was amazing! Chocolatey and not overly sweet.
AvidreaderMusicLover — Google review
The lamb was GREAT!!!! It wasn't gamey like Texas de Brazil. The salad bar was fresh, and the grilled pineapple was a SWEET treat.
Christen D — Google review
Expect to spend more than $100 for 2 if you want to taste everything. The good news is you will practically have to beg them to stop bringing you out freshly cooked, steaming hot food. If it's hard for you to say no, you might need to practice a bit before dining here as the food will just keep coming.

Middle Eastern restaurant
Flames Mediterranean & Grill is a hidden gem in Memphis that offers an authentic taste of Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant boasts warm hospitality and a friendly atmosphere, making it a must-visit for any lover of Mediterranean dishes. With a visiting chef from Jordan overseeing the menu, Flames ensures an extra touch of authenticity in their offerings. From juicy chicken shawarma to crispy falafel and flavorful Baba Ganoush, every dish is bursting with delicious flavors.
Came in for a quick bite with colleagues when everywhere else was shut down for snow and icy conditions. Excellent food and a great vibe! They were very busy with takeout orders but our food was seemingly fresh and delicious.

Another hole in the wall mom and pop self service restaurant. I ordered chicken Shawarma wrap. They made it fresh , tasted fine. Somehow they sprayed some sticky sweet sauce made it hard to eat. I had to wipe my fingers with a lot of napkins. Probably they want you to lick your fingers , and they had bundles of paper rolls.😀. Ambience was not very impressive but food price is reasonable and affordable to many college students live near by. Parking is convenient but watch out for traffic. It is ok for casual dining. On the positive side the owner and staff are very amicable to the customers.

The food was so good! I didn’t know what to expect but I ordered the falafel wrap w tahini sauce. Falafel crunchy outside and soft inside (not the typical dry and overly dense inside) ! They brought us hummus and it was the smoothest I’ve ever had! Silky and delicious! And the baklava treats were great! Highly recommend!! Reasonable prices too

FLAMES! It’s in the name. Flames’ food, customer service and atmosphere is FIRE🔥 I have patronized this business various times for lunch. I often get the gyro or mixed shawarma plate. They’re amazing. I’ve also tried their wings, they’re delicious as well. The owner and employees offer great customer service. They’re very nice.

I ordered their Philly Cheesesteak, waited for almost 30 minutes and it arrived burnt! The bread was charred almost black, and the steak itself was dry and overcooked. It's clear the cheesesteak had been on the grill for far too long.

Chicken was burned black .. fries were hard & cold. I would give 0 stars if I could.

One of the best Kebabs I’ve had in Memphis. I placed order for Gyro burger and mix kebabs to go. Everything was amazing. The gyro burger was an amazing surprise. Really enjoyed the sauce on top of the meat. Mix kebab came with 4 different kind of kabab. Each meat was cooked well and tasted amazing. The service was amazing. The young girl in front was super friendly. Overall, I had a great experience. Will come back during my next visit to Memphis.
Armita Z — Google review
This place has the worst customer service from around this highland place. The food also burnt and salty. We ordered chicken shawarma but it is burnt shawarma. If you want good vibes I would recommend not to go here. Especially don’t go when the dark color hair white girl at the counter. She doesn’t have any will to provide the good service. I would recommend Happy Creek opposite right across the street their food is better than flames and they are not rude like flames customer service.

Nestled in Saddle Creek, Local Lime | Germantown is a vibrant cali-mix restaurant that brings the essence of Mexico right to your plate. With an emphasis on tantalizing margaritas and mouthwatering tacos, this eatery elevates the traditional Mexican dining experience. Guests are encouraged to kick off their meal with a delightful salsa flight, showcasing various flavors that transport you straight to Cancun.
Tried Local Lime on a Friday early evening. Easy close parking, no wait for two. Service was very efficient, friendly, helpful, and on point. The food was all excellent. The flight of salsa added excitement to a usually routine app. All three choices were very flavorful, fresh, and good to mix. The chips were also very good with the right amount of salt and crispness. We shared the combo fajitas with steak and shrimp and this dish is our new favorite fajita meal from anywhere we have tried. The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and extremely flavorful. The shrimp had just the right amount of seasoning. All the veggies and peppers and onions were grilled perfectly and we absolutely enjoyed every bite. Will be going back to Local Lime soon and taking our friends and family. A new favorite spot!

Easily makes my Memphis top 10. Absolutely loved this place. Didn’t expect it to be this good, fresh, and surprisingly kind of addictive! We had the veggie taco and the first bite damn so good. Mint rice that comes with it, tasted just as home cooked. Shrimp quesadilla was served a little cool but didn't disappoint. More than the fried chicken taco, the veggie tasted great. The chicken tenders were cooked well but yes it looks slightly overdone or too crispy

Local Lime was a wonderful dining experience! I ordered a la cart with fried shrimp taco and ahi tuna taco. My side was the drunken beans, so yummy! Please treat yourself to the zucchini salsa-best salsa ever that pairs well with their perfect for dipping chips. The strawberry basil margarita was NICE. Our server, Taylor, was a true professional! Loved it and will be back!
Courtney A — Google review
Tried Local Lime while in Memphis on a short trip—pescatarian options were kind of limited, so I was happy to find this spot. I ordered the queso with chips and the fried fish tacos. Everything was really fresh and the service was great. For me, the tacos could’ve used a little more flavor/seasoning to make them stand out, but overall it was a good experience. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in town. CuppaTash sip: Fresh brew, just missing that extra kick of flavor—but still worth another pour. ☕️✨

So happy we had dinner here! The food was excellent. We had great service provided by Brittany. We sat on the patio with our little dog and it was a great time.

Had the 3 steak tacos, they were flour shells, made it much easier to eat..service was excellent, especially since they were so busy. Tacos were good, not something I would crave again.....chips & Salsa before our meal was missing, not sure they are even offered ?? The 2 sides were not for me or my wife, the pickled vegetables were way to HIT & SPICY for us, so glad the server offered street corn..
Bob L — Google review
Server was kind and helpful. Food was good- a tad pricey. The wall next to the table we were sitting at was in need of cleaning, it had visible food stains. The home made ginger beverage was delicious!

We ordered chicken enchiladas and tacos. Black and refried beans. All very good. We sampled the different salsas. The mango one was my favorite. Nice clean bathrooms and restaurant overall. Friendly servers and fast service.

Chick-fil-A is a popular fast-food chain known for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads, and sides. With over 150 franchisees worldwide, it's a convenient dining option for students, faculty, and professionals. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Although prices may be higher than other nearby options, the quality of food and efficient service make it a go-to lunch spot for many.
Chick-fil-A they always make sure to do their jobs the way they trained. Their staff. Member is always on top.
Sibomana K — Google review
The food is always horrible at this location. People are nice. The service is good. But the food is always subpar for a Chick-fil-A. This morning I got the chicken minis and they were thrown in my box. It looked like most of the chicken was not even between the pieces of bread. It was sitting on top. Otherwise thrown in the box anywhere. This is not the first time. Also, the hash browns are always under cooked or they taste like the grease is old. Today, they are under cooked and have zero salt on them. I know this is a high volume store, but the food is not up to Chick-Fil-A standards at all.
Aaron K — Google review
The food was okay, not a wide variety at this small location, but the workers were incredibly rude! Never experienced such at a Chick-fil-A. A really tall girl took my order. I spoke said hello she was like, "What do you want to order?" It doesn't cost a thing to speak, but it will cost you this customer. I'll drive to another location rather than deal with people who act as though they don't want to work, I'll help you out there. Additionally, the medium drink is a small size inside of another cup; drinks are already profitable, why cheat people with less?
Freddi — Google review

I didn't get half of what I ordered. There was no appreciation as a customer. I will not be coming back
Christopher W — Google review
I stopped rather early and my food was not fresh and it was cold. I usually never go to there for breakfast. it's expensive for breakfast it's like I'm paying for lunch or dinner. But I was on campus to go to the Credit Union which is on the same floor. The staff was nice and I didn't wait long but I wasted my money.
Sheredith F — Google review
I believe that the debit card I presented twice at the window for separate purchases was illegally used by one or more of the 3 workers. I received a message from my bank about midnight that someone had used my debit card number twice for cash app purchases. I have not used that card in quite a while. This remains under investigation. My advice: use only cash when purchasing at this place, if you go there at all.

Olive House Mediterranean Grocery is a hidden gem in Memphis, offering authentic Jordanian-style chicken shawarma sandwiches that are perfect for a quick and delicious lunch. The market is known for its clean and bright ambiance, with a wide variety of Middle Eastern pantry items, cheeses like halloumi and feta, as well as an extensive selection of spices and blends. Customers can also enjoy the convenience of a hot deli with grab-and-go options such as flavorful Shawarma wraps.
my favorite place to stop by, I go there to get my lunch every day and they are always so kind to me and help me with my grocery purchases which means alot as a college student. I highly recommend shopping there or even going to grab their hot ready lunch. The bald (sorry haha that’s the best way to describe you my friend) gentleman with the beard is the literal nicest guy in the planet. Thanks for always making sure I am taken care of, I wish this business a lot of success!!

A great place to get all your Mediterranean staples! The olives and freshly made pita are our favorites. Spices and teas at great prices. Meat pies and kofta ready to eat. We make a special trip a couple times each month!
Dina C — Google review
A gem of a place in the Lake District. I was in a panic to find fillo dough, so I searched out on Google to find this Mediterranean store near my home. I was tired after work so I called first to find out if they had it in stock. The man on the phone knew exactly what I was looking and they had it in stock. So I drove over to find a cute store that was very clean, bright and very friendly. He walked me over to the freezer and showed me the box. I asked him if was good quality and he said they sold at least 50 a day. So I took from his answer that it was indeed good quality and fresh. I found other goodies along with feta cheese that I love! They have a nice produce area as well as fresh meat area. I looked at prices and they were very reasonable. If you're looking for an option for hard to find items that are more exotic for Mediterranean style food, this would be the place to visit. You should do yourself a favor and drop in to check it out
Tina A — Google review
Good selection of Mediterranean and regional offerings. Rare to see ao many options. A good frozen section and fresh meats with a butcher on site. Found many spices that are not easily found in regular supermarkets. Lookin good for some new food shopping experiences. Stop by and enjoy the selection.
Nick F — Google review
I visited the store today and was happy to find the store staffed by two helpful, smiling people. The person checking out my order was walking around the store greeting customers like old friends, answering questions, and when I told him it was my first visit, he included a free falafel wrap in my bag at no charge. Their food has been delicious so far, their selection of lamb was well priced and that falafel was great! I will definitely be back.
