Mediterranean restaurant
Moroccan restaurant
Restaurant
Casablanca @ Madison is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant with locations in Midtown and East Memphis. The restaurant offers traditional and vegetarian-friendly dishes, including falafel, hummus, grape leaves, baba ghanoush, grilled chicken kabob skewers, lemongrass tofu, Egyptian hawawshi, pita french fries, and grilled chicken salad with phenomenal dressing. It's known for its Moroccan tea and homemade hot sauces.
We got Casablanca to cater our wedding. They were incredibly easy to work with, the food was delicious, and the portions were extremely generous. Our guests absolutely loved it and were coming up to me all night to ask where we got it from. I know everyone talks about how great of a restaurant they are (very deserved) but their catering rocks too.

If the platter with the lamb shank (bone in) is always served this moist and tender, I will come back here multiple times a month. I give the lamb shank 5 stars. The seasoning that it was braised in was awesome. Very worth trying. Other dishes we tried were about 3-4 stars for this type of food, but we will be back for the lamb shank again and to see what other surprises are on the menu. Menu prices are very fair! Oh make sure to try the tea! So freshing and relaxing.
Brent — Google review
The restaurant gave comforting vibes on a rainy Saturday evening. There weren't many people in the place. Our waitress seemed very distracted and didn't give us good service. I tried getting her attention several times, but she never looked our way. There was a young male server who finally came over to help us. The food was absolutely delicious and they were huge portions. When paying the bill I gave the waitress cash, and she shorted me $10. I would definitely go back, though, for the food.
Andrea R — Google review
Casablanca has always been reliable - but the kitchen expansion was definitely worth it, especially with the new cafe they recently opened inside. The refreshers are a great cool down in these hot days, the espresso is smooth and well-balanced, and the traditional Yemeni coffee has a rich, authentic flavor - even if you're not a coffee person, you'd enjoy it. Food-wise, it's the same quality you expect: flavorful, fresh, and consistent. Service is fast, and the overall experience just feels more complete now. Definitely worth checking out.
Sulman A — Google review
The Philly cheesesteak and falafel are the perfect lunch combination! The portions are more than enough and the staff is always very nice!
Toya W — Google review
I recently purchased a couscous dish, which I typically enjoy, and the experience was, regrettably, subpar. The portion size, relative to the cost, was smaller than anticipated and did not offer adequate value. Additionally, the accompanying sauce was insufficient. Based on my experience with couscous, including its cultural significance in Algerian cuisine, the overall experience was disappointing. Consequently, I will not be ordering couscous from this establishment again, as the value proposition was not met. Please refer to the provided video for additional context.
Riadh B — Google review
The only positive thing I can say is the food was edible. The spanakopita had been over heated in the microwave and phyllo dough layers were soggy. My moussaka (pictured) was over heated in the microwave that the beshamel sauce was stuck to the inside of the bowl. They added some sauce to hide the fact, with undercooked chickpeas and potatoes. The lamb in my boyfriend’s lamb chop sandwich was warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside. The ginger, sage, mint tea was sickeningly sweet. The food was edible but of very poor quality. Our table, along door knobs were sticky. Not sure if from poor cleaning or over use of cleaning products. I will not be back.
Janaya S — Google review
Casablanca never disappoints. Best grilled salmon in Memphis. I eat there about 3 times every week. The hot tea is delicious and the chocolate mouse is always a treat. Servers are also pleasant. Demaris is excellent!

Nestled in the vibrant South Main Street area of Downtown Memphis, Good Fortune Co. is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This delightful eatery, helmed by talented chefs Sarah Cai and Arturo Leighton, specializes in handmade noodles and dumplings that showcase a unique blend of Asian-fusion flavors not commonly found in the Mid-South.
We had the most amazing meal at Good Fortune this evening. The food was unbelievably delicious- crawfish dumplings, Big City Noodles and the ice cream. All were absolutely scrumptious. Every meal that was delivered around us looked delicious as well. We are from out of town but will definitely make every effort to visit again as we want to try EVERYTHING! The staff were fast, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu making great recommendations. They do add a 20% service charge so the staff, including chefs are able to split it and thus, no tipping. We didn't mind this at all as you could tell everyone was working hard and their efforts were great food and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Jessica M — Google review
Seen it on Diners, drive ins and dives. Had to go check it out. Not the best ramen I have ever had but it’s still good. Crawfish dumplings were disappointing but the Chicken wings were probably the best wings I have ever had so crispy and the best flavor. The banana ice scream in the fish waffle cone was a cool dessert and tasty.
Nick K — Google review
As an Asian, I found the flavors at Good Fortune a bit underwhelming. The curry lacked depth and didn’t taste very flavorful, though the noodles were cooked perfectly. The pork dumplings are just okay nothing special . I tried the ube lemonade it was okay, but the artificial ube syrup was noticeable. The matcha ice cream (taitaki style) didn’t have the strong matcha flavor I was expecting coming from a matcha enthusiast that was disappointing 😅. On top of that, the 20% service charge felt excessive for the experience. Overall I expected more given the hype and the price point.
Celine D — Google review
Saw the restaurant on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and said we would check it out when we came to Memphis. Not quite what I expected but delicious none the less. We had the pork dumplings, Sichuan honey glaze wings and the chicken rice bowl. All the food was fresh and very flavorful. Will definitely come again when we roll back through Memphis.
Tim W — Google review
Good fortune is 100% my favorite restaurant in downtown Memphis. The food is great every single time. From the hostess to the waiters and the rest of the staff, everyone is so friendly and the food always arrives in a flash. My go-to’s are the must have GF Wings, the fried tofu rice bowl and the impossible dumplings. It’s always a great decision to stop by!
Christopher T — Google review
Good Fortune is a Downtown Memphis staple! Amazing food - charred edamame, THE WINGS, and the chicken rice bowl are my go-to choices! Make sure you save room for the Taiyaki (ice cream) with their rotating delicious flavors, even you think “eh I might not like that,” get it and be amazed!
Bree W — Google review
I enjoyed everything I had and the customer service was excellent. Even with the busy Friday night crowd, we were consistently updated on our wait time and ultimately given the option to sit at the bar so of course we did! The staff was friendly and our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Here’s what I ordered: Last fall I discovered that I absolutely love ramen so I got the ✨TAN TAN NOODS✨ and it was perfect! (This is a vegan dish but it certainly didn’t taste like there was no meat in it!) Whenever you can get the special, get the special! I had a ✨BLOOD ORANGE TEQUILA✨ cocktail as part of the month’s drink special and I loved that it was just the right amount of sweet. (I actually like to taste my alcohol.) Lastly, I know you see that piece of chicken all by itself. I didn’t order it for myself, I was blessed with it. Get the ✨ GFC WINGS✨ Trust me on this!

Really great food variety here and amazing service. The chicken rice bowl was filling and delicious. The tres leches was not what I was expecting, it was on the drier side. But overall, I really enjoyed this place and would recommend!

Imagine Vegan Cafe is a charming, family-owned eatery that has become a beloved spot for both locals and celebrities alike. This sustainable café specializes in mouthwatering vegan dishes, offering an array of options from hearty entrees to delightful desserts. Whether you're craving crispy vegan fried chicken drumsticks or indulgent Big Mac-style burgers with double patties and special sauce, this cafe has you covered. They also serve up delicious brunch items like sweet and savory chicken and waffles topped with vegan butter and maple syrup.
I had a very good time here. It was a little hard to find because I didn’t see the signage on top of the building but once I got out, my car started walking I found it. The food was very good. The service was super quick. I sat down and about 10 minutes later I had my food. I ordered the KFC with potato salad instead of coleslaw. My favorite part of the meal was the mashed potatoes and gravy. Very good. All of it was fantastic, but that was my favorite. I would give the food 8 out of 10. and I love the fact it’s not very expensive and there was enough for me to take home and eat later. I highly suggest vegans come check out the spot you will not be disappointed.

OMG! You do not have to miss BBQ anymore as a vegan! This delicious restaurant has outdone the others that I have tasted with their BBQ sandwich! I would love it if non vegans would also try this as it has all the right tastes! The “meat” absolutely has the correct texture and the perfect amount of smoke, the sauce is sweet and tangy, the coleslaw adds crunch and creaminess, and soft bun brings it all together! We also ordered the collard greens which also hit the spot with garlic and just a hint of spice! The same perfect hint of spice and sweet in the baked beans was also delicious! The hush puppies were perfected crunchy on the outside soft and delicate on the inside! The huge serving of peach cobbler we got was the perfect amount of sweet with huge slices of peach! This will absolutely be our first stop every time we come through Memphis! Thank you so much Imagine Cafe for satisfying my craving for well done BBQ and southern classic I love so much!!
Christine N — Google review
We throughly enjoyed our lunch here! It is located in a fun area of town, so give yourself time to check out the bookstore and other shops nearby. The portions were large and a good deal for the price. I shared the Large Memphis BBQ platter with my elementary-school aged son and we still brought home leftovers. It comes with two large BBQ sandwiches and 2 sides, which you can substitute for no charge. They even brought it out on two plates already separate to make sharing easy. The sandwiches were delicious! We also ordered 2 drumsticks to take home, and they tasted great the next day. I wish we had been hungry enough to order dessert! They had several cake options that looked amazing. My son loved the pictures of animals painted on the walls. We will be back again!

Imagine Vegan Cafe I visited this Vegan Restaurant for the first time I was passing through Memphis, and used the Happy Cow App on my phone to locate an open Veg Restaurant. This one was open, and I saw some of the poor reviews, but tried it anyway. Parking could be an issue, but I found a spot, prices weren't low, but the food was good, and the dessert cookie took me days to eat Homey eatery featuring vegan entrees, sandwiches, salads & desserts, plus brunch & a kids' menu. Hard to find, parking can be poor, but I would try again, the food was that good
Gear W — Google review
I tried the potato skins appetizer and impossible burger with a side of BBQ beans. As a none vegan I must say the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of each menu item. I spent around $20 before tax
Mary S — Google review
This place is a must when we’re in town. It’s truly vegan-from the food to the messages of solidarity and unity on the walls. We absolutely love this place! Makes me wish I lived in Memphis!!
Tara M — Google review
My fiancé and I *literally* got an Airbnb next door so we could revisit this place 5 years after our first time visiting. 10-year vegans from the Midwest who have talked about this place to others for years. Soooo good to be back and indulge again. A true gem, 1 of 1. 12 out of 10❤️
Tanner D — Google review
We left with full bellies and happy memories. The atmosphere is calming and comfortable. The decor is heart warming with happy farm animals. The staff was super nice and helpful. There is a corner offering kid toys or art to keep them busy. My 6yr old daughter chose the animal figures to play with while waiting on food. She really enjoyed her meal, she even said “this is so good.” She is super picky so I knew she was content. I wish we lived closer so we could stop in more often. This was a dinner stop on our way home to STL, MO. Please support their business. 🐮🐷🐔🐶🐱🐰

Bar
Slider Inn in Midtown Memphis is a popular hangout spot known for its Maine lobster rolls, housemade lemonade, and cocktails. The rustic establishment offers a deck where patrons can enjoy their food and drinks. One of the must-try items is the Jameson Slushie, a refreshing concoction made with slushed ice, Peychauds bitters, homemade lemonade, and Irish whiskey.
This place has a really nice deck outside. That usually has seating available. I have visited at times when they have trivia going on as well and that was fun. The sliders are unique and really good. They have some vegetarian options for sliders as well. The fries are top-tier. They also have specialty drinks. Don’t sleep on bourbon mayo to dip your fries in.
Aydrian — Google review
I always pass this place and see it's busy. Decided to finally give them a chance. You can sit at the bar, patio, or at a table. The food was good. The waitress was awesome. I wish I would've tried another drink. This place is a great place to have a meal with friends and chit chat.
J. W — Google review
Been here a few times, sadly the service and food were not up to par. We went on a perfect day to sat outside, worst experience I've had in a long time. They allow smoking, so if you enjoy others puffing with no regards to others, then you may enjoy their patio. Our waitress was not pleasant, even after I spoke first. Ordered the steak and egg sliders, since it was brunch, my sliders had no seasoning, the egg was not cooked evenly, and they were just bland; as least the fries were good. I leave you this review as an opportunity to bring your business back up to the standards it was last year. I'm sorry, I have no plans to return anytime soon.
Freddi — Google review
The meal was good, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was great even when the DJ went Slayer on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The meal was a bit pricey, and I'm not a fan of the added 20% gratuity, anywhere. I'll go back to try the variety of sliders!!
King E — Google review
Ordered take-out... food was going to be ready sooner than I expected. I told the lady on the phone how far away I was, and she offered to hold off on the order for a few mins before sending it back to the kitchen. My food was ready upon arrival & hot, just like I like it, when I got home. Fries don't take long to get cold once the container is opened. Everything was delicious, and would absolutely return!
Shannon F — Google review
Food is very good. The Jameson Slushie is tasty. The Memphis, the Hangover, and the chicken slider were highlights.
Ben G — Google review
Worst service in Memphis - and that’s saying something. Food is fine. Owner will respond to give them another shot. This was their other shot. Been coming here for years and it just keeps getting worse. Will be my last time. For some reason I get 3% better service when I come with my boyfriend instead of when I come alone even though I am the one that pays. The mushroom burger used to be good but now they don’t season it at all. Usual order is sampler with falafel, chicken, and burger. This time I was begging for service just to get my order in. Told the server the beef was off and was offered for the chef to make a fresh one. I hope I had a fresh one to start with? I passed. Terrible for a single person Terrible for a single female Terrible for someone that loves food Better places in Memphis who value their customers for sure

We had to fight the flies the whole time we was there. Food was not good and very basic. They seem use premade chicken strips on the chicken sandwiches. This place has fallen very low! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

FRESH AND CLEAN! Grabbed dinner here last week with some friends. It was my first time and so I didn’t know what to expect. The menu is expansive and full of super fresh, healthy options. There’s also lots of grab and go items. The food is good and the service was excellent. I like the decor as well.
Brian S — Google review
I visited City Silo today and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere—it’s warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. However, I was disappointed to find that the fruit in my child’s meal wasn’t fresh and the green tea served was a Kroger brand. I came to City Silo expecting fresh, organic ingredients and was taken aback by the quality. I take my health and nutrition seriously, and I believe that with the same care and attention given to creating such a wonderful environment, the same effort could be reflected in the food and beverages offered.

A cool looking deli style hip place. You have to order in the counter and they will serve the food at your table. They have many options for salad, sandwich, juice and other drinks, etc. They have plenty vegan and vegetarian options. Both of us got sandwiches with a bag of chip and a side salad . The sandwich was freshly made with fresh ingredients. The side salad was also very fresh and refreshing. I drank one beet juice ( along with other stuff). It was very refreshing. Overall, if you look for quality over quantity - this might be your place.

Wow! This is a Valdi approved joint! I ordered a Hummus Wrap with chicken, sliced avocado along with a side salad, another side salad, sriracha sauce for later in the day so you can see the size, to drink the Expresso Dream. This place is legit! The food is amazing and Vegans and Vegetarians this is your spot, I promise! Service was great (I placed a To-Go order), the place is beautiful and ambience is super nice! Plenty of tables in and outside, parking wasn’t an issue. Healthy food at its best!!! You heard for me! I added their other locations!

City Silo Table + Pantry is hands down the most healthy restaurant Memphis has to offer. Deserving of 5 stars. From spin offs of breakfast classics, salads, acai bowls, hearty bowls, burgers to sandwiches, City Silo's got you covered with both meat and vegetarian substitutions. Their biophilic clean aesthetics speak to the green energy City Silo wants to channel to their space, and I am as happy as a kid on Christmas day. Every city needs a City Silo to change the world of dining out. I tried both their Green Machine salad and Buffalo Tempeh and Sesame Cauliflower bowl with farm raised chicken addition. They were both very tasty. I highly recommend you try their bowls as they are indeed hearty and have you feeling full, energized yet light. City Silo is a self service that has got you covered from coffee, a quick bite to a full meal. Every item on the menu is thoughtfully assembled with your health in mind so that you can walk in with full confidence you made a great choice! Give them a try!

I really enjoy this place, I like there new local it is cozy the food is great and hearty. I had a macha macha macha hot and the hippie breakfast bowl which was delicious. Definitely recommend as a place to eat and just relax.

Stopped in at City Silo and tried the Chicken Salad El Goodo B along with their chocolate cookie with sea salt. The bowl was fresh, flavorful, and filling — a solid balance of protein and greens that left me satisfied without feeling heavy. The chicken salad had great texture and just the right seasoning. The cookie was the perfect finish — rich chocolate with a touch of sea salt that really set it apart. Soft, decadent, and honestly one of the better cookies I’ve had in a while. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere has that clean, healthy vibe without being overdone. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I want something wholesome but still tasty.

Yemeni restaurant
Queen of Sheba is a Yemeni restaurant that offers an incredible dining experience. The menu features authentic flavors, with standout dishes like lamb haneeth with rice, lamb chops with rice, and lamb soup. The atmosphere immerses diners in Yemeni culture, while the prompt service ensures a delightful experience. Customers praise the outstanding customer service and generous portion sizes. The restaurant's delicious food and friendly staff make it a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.
My recent visit to Queen of Sheba was a delightful experience, and it all started with my son’s insistence on dining in. As we approached the establishment, initially, we couldn’t locate the entrance. A friendly young lady noticed our confusion and warmly greeted us, guiding us inside. Her kindness extended throughout our visit, particularly in her interactions with my son, which added a personal touch to our meal. Upon being seated, we placed our order, and the service continued to impress. When our food arrived, it was nothing short of spectacular. The dishes were fresh, bursting with flavor, and the enticing aroma elevated the entire dining experience. Queen of Sheba truly excels in both hospitality and culinary excellence.

I highly recommend this authentic restaurant! We used to taste many Yemeni restaurant in Saudi Arabia for five years! We tried the Lamb Haneeth and Kunafa! The lamb Haneeth costs $21.99, and Kunafa costs $6.99, and the naan bread costs $1.50. In lamb Haneeth meal, salad or soup is offered! Realize that they will charge service fee 4% and additional tips are appreciated! Kunafa is pretty yummy and authentic. They used the healing equipment that I saw in Saudi Arabia, not with the microwave oven. Parking is offered and there is a Jerusalem grocery market nearby!

I ain't here for dinner for the first time and the food was great, we had the beef Shawarma and chicken song with the I think it was yemini bread. The atmosphere was traditional Middle Eastern with Middle Eastern music I definitely plan on coming back the service was a bit slow because they were feeling a lot of to-go orders so if the service was more attentive I would give the service a better rating but overall it was a good experience and the food was great so I'll definitely plan on coming back. They also had fresh dates as an appetizer and those were really good.

Great meal! The babaganoush was good, loved the tandoori bread. We got the beef and lamb liver over hummus. The hummus was so creamy. We agreed that the dishes could have used a little more flavor but enjoyed it all.

We reached the restaurant around the time of iftari, we were served a few dates and water to break our fast. The food was very delicious. Had the lentil soup, Fahsa and lamb haneeth. They had a dedicated prayer area which made is so convenient for us as we were travelling. Overall experience was amazing.

Wow, Yemeni food is great! Try one of the hot clay pots, they're delicious. The fish fasah was a great choice and came with the wonderful flatbread.

Ate lunch at this restaurant. Food was tasty. I had the ground beef and humus. Nice portions for the price. Service was not that great. Had to wait over an hour to be seated. They did get our order wrong and forgot some items. Overall not too bad.

Global Café, located in Crosstown Concourse, offers a diverse range of international cuisine from various regions such as Sudan and North Africa. The Sudanese section of the café features dishes like African peanut soup, dama with rous, and sambusa, while the North African part serves basbousa for dessert. The café's mission is to introduce the community to the culinary and cultural heritage of refugee and immigrant communities in Memphis.
A friend recommended Global Cafe for lunch, and I’m so glad she did! It’s such a lovely spot with a relaxed atmosphere and great service. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter, then find a seat—either inside or outside—and they’ll bring your food to you. I ordered the chicken tacos paired with a fresh margarita to top if off. The food was flavorful and the margarita hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu - I'm really curious to try the quesadillas! Overall, Global Cafe offers great food, a great chill vibe, and a solid dining experience. Absolutely worth a visit.

Delicious food and excellent service. It's very busy, so there's a line to order. I tried to order from the table using a QR code, but it was difficult. Highly recommended!
Eliza V — Google review
I’ve been coming to Global Cafe since they opened and it’s always been a favorite. The food usually never disappoints, and I love the variety of global cuisines. Recently, the food has been inconsistent and disappointing unfortunately. I took my mom out for dinner and she chose the Thupka and I ordered the Plantain Soup. The Thupka was way too spicy for her (she was frustrated because nowhere on the menu does it indicate that it’s spicy), and the meat was missing, so I gave her my Plantain Soup and boxed the Thupka to bring home to my partner and decided to order another Plantain Soup for myself. The first bowl of soup was overflowing with chicken and yucca root but didn’t have a single piece of plantain in it…the second bowl of soup had chicken, and not a single piece of yucca root - there were two pieces of plantain in the soup. Just a bit frustrating for the soups to be so inconsistent, in the span of 10 minutes. I’ve noticed in the past that dishes usually always come out a bit different than the time before, but to not have plantain in a soup when it’s the main event feels kind of silly. The service was also a bit disappointing compared to how it usually is - we had to ask for a box multiple times and at one point one of the staff took my mojito before I was finished drinking it. I will keep going to Global and supporting of course! Just some food for thought.

A group of friends and I travelled to Memphis for a little day trip, and one of them requested that we go to Global Cafe, their favorite restaurant in Memphis. They are gluten free, and so we went knowing that there would at least be food available for them. I ordered the Fajita de Pollo Wrap, my friend got the Asado Bowl, and my other two friends got the Chicken Shawarma and Street Tacos. We decided to eat outside as it was a good day out, but the inside is a vibe too. Definitely a cafeteria type vibe, which is great for meeting new people and of course experiencing different cultures together(hence the name). I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this cafe. Our food came, and all of my friends' food looked amazing. Mine looked a little lack luster, but I tried not to judge a book by its cover. I took one bite of my wrap and really wasn't that impressed. My chicken was dry, and the chips and salsa that came with it were pretty bland, only spicy. I did enjoy the street tacos, but the chicken in the Shawarma also tasted pretty dry. We needed to add a lot of sauce to make it better. My friend's asado bowl looked pretty good and of course they ate all of it, so I'm not sure on the taste of that, but it might be the only good thing that came out of our four orders, in my opinion. Our service was helpful, and so I can't necessarily blame them for the food. Overall, it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but the food, to me, isn't all that great.

The food was great , the service was great and the atmosphere was top tier. Stop in for their Tuesday specials you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful food and great service! We went for the deals on taco Tuesday! We had pollo guisado and carnitas tacos and you cannot leave without having the cheese and potato empanadas! The margaritas were delicious, strong and flavorful. Even with a line, food came out in a timely manner and the staff is very friendly.

Great, multi-ethnic restaurant located in Crosstown Concourse. They offer foods from several different countries within this venue. Although I cannot speak on the authenticity of the dishes, the food and flavor of what I had was absolutely excellent. I ordered the hummus and pita as an appetizer. I will say I am not used to having cumin added to my hummus but it was a nice twist on a good dish and I was pleasantly surprised. As may main dish I ordered the kuku paka, which is a Kenyan curry with chicken in it. It was a very good dish and the portion size was very big. There were several other dishes on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely visit again to eat at this wonderful establishment.
Jackie D — Google review
The concept is great, the portion sizes are large. The food is a great sample of various regions of the world. Enjoyed the Kenyan spicy chicken curry with rice. Will visit again.

Vegan restaurant
Plant Based Heat in Memphis offers a delectable vegan feast including Agave Gold Vings, Cheeseburger & Fries, Fried Buffalo Cauliflower, and Mexican Street Corn. The owner, Ralph Johnson (RJ Groove), transitioned to a fully vegan menu 14 months ago. The city's vegan options are expanding with the addition of Arnolds Smokehouse and Shroomlicious' first storefront.
I am so glad we took a car out here. This food is incredible. These might be the best “wings” I have ever had. They’re perfectly flavored and seasoned with an authentic southern (but not spicy) spice blend. It tastes like KFC. They also have spicy wings on the menu if you’re into that. The Jackfruit BBQ sandwich has the perfect flavor profile for Memphis BBQ. The chicken sandwich was delicious. Light crispy chicken patty w pickles and mayo. I added ranch, which was next level. They have house made sauces such as ranch blue cheese golden etc. there all delicious. The cole slaw is the chef’s mother’s recipe and it’s brilliant. So so so good. I got seconds. Cannot recommend this spot enough.

Walked in and was immediately greated, felt like I was walking into a families home and they continued that feeling with the great food! This food was so damn good! The fried mushrooms were so perfectly seasoned with a CRISPY crust, so Good! The mac and cheese actually tasted like mac and cheese at a cook out! I will absolutely be coming back!!

This spot has restored my faith in TN Vegan options, from Memphis to Nashville!! I come to TN every year, and every year, I am in search of GREAT Vegan locations to frequent. Well, I think the search is over!! I've seen the reviews & the reviews did not disappoint 😁😁🥰 I ordered the Vegan Jackfruit BBQ Nachos, the Lions Mane wings & washed it down an in-house cranberry lemonade that almost made me turn around and grab a refill lol. I am very proud of this establishment, super clean, super professional 👏🏿 I will be back!!

They had great music, I had a lemon agave gold cauliflower vings and a cookout burger, which was delicious. I would definitely order again. One suggestion I would make is that though the music was great, it hindered me from hearing what the individual taking my order was saying.

Great vibes and the mushrooms are amazing. I also tried the pecan philly and actually liked it. I'm in love with the sweet potato tots!! Looking forward to trying more items from this spot.

It was so nice to find a vegan restaurant in Memphis with gluten free options and a conscientious staff. Food was good and the staff is amazing. Small restaurant with limited seating (tables for 2). Very warm due to lots of people coming in and out and the back door open (July heat wave happening). Definitely worth the drive. Gluten free bun really needed to be toasted instead of cold to help it not fall apart, but they were very safe, cleaned the grill for the burger, and have a dedicated french fry frier.
Smash K — Google review
Loved everything about this restaurant. Delicious! Full of flavors! Made with Love! Slightly more salty than I prefer but amazing flavors. I tried the lemon pepper Cauliflower wings. Wow! The vegan mac & cheese-very creamy & seasoned. The seasoned fries were nice and crispy. The vegan ranch-wow! Overall this place makes your food with love and care. Service is awesome! Clean restaurant & bathroom. It feels like a hole in the wall type of place. Definitely don't miss out on trying this place.

We really loved our meal here. The service was exemplary, the food made from scratch, was delicious, as was the coffee. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles and biscuits and gravy. I rarely get to eat gravy out because of MSG, but these folks do it from scratch and I was one happy lady!!

Great bananas foster cappuccino here! The Salmon sandwich was simply good would be even better with some special sauce to season it more. The bakery selection is drool worthy especially the chocolate torte which is flourless. I had the gf bread but I really wanted the bun they have looks so good! The food is all fresh and you feel like you’ve had a real good meal and a good time. This place is a spot to keep going to! One of my favorites in the area! The Coffee barista was knowledgeable and just perfect! They have outdoor seating available

There is absolutely nothing bad about this place!!! Nestled in lovely midtown, this place has the best breakfasts and “to die for” coffee (by illy)! You simply Can’t. Go. Wrong! I had The Avalon in omelette form and two coffees; Caramel Apple Cappuccino and The Cinnful Jim (feeling naughty!) The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing! I live in Central VA but visiting family in Memphis… This place is reason enough to move back! And if that wasn’t good enough, the service is the best thing about Café Eclectic!! It is obvious that the owner and staff care about people and providing the best friendly service one can give! I’ve been fortunate enough to have had Harlow as my waitress in the last few visits! Don’t let her go!! It is truly appreciated!! Thank you for the wonderful experience!!

Cozy atmosphere with soothing music, friendly service. I had the naked scramble with tofu, vegan cheese and vegan sausage 💕 Hubby had the whole nine yards. Both are delicious! Prices are reasonable. Parking lot and free street parking.

I can’t emphasize enough how amazing the food at Café Eclectic is. They are the ONLY restaurant I have ever been able to get fresh , perfectly hot , flavorful breakfast even when it’s to-go. Also I love the dinner specials when I’ve dined in. Chicken pot pie is my personal favorite meal and they are the only restaurant that makes one better than mine at home 🙂 It is usually a special in the colder months . The staff is beyond kind and efficient even when the restaurant is full during a busy Sunday brunch ( clearly because it’s the best) I don’t know how they do it, but I sure am grateful they do and are just a few blocks away from my house . If you are a fellow local restaurant supporter this is a MUST when you are hungry 🙂Thanks guys !

We stopped here before visiting the Memphis zoo because it is conveniently located nearby. We were here on a Monday morning and while the food was good and I loved my pumpkin pie chai, the service was incredibly slow! We were seated right away and our order was taken quickly, but then it took about half an hour for our breakfast to come out, and then another 45 minutes after that for the waitress to come back around to see if we needed anything. At that point, we were just waiting for our bill, our drinks had long since emptied. There was a steady stream of patrons, but it at no point seemed to be very busy.

Phở Binh is a beloved Vietnamese eatery located in Midtown, known for its delicious lemongrass tofu and beef dishes, as well as a variety of soups. While it was once famous for its affordable lunch buffet, the restaurant now offers takeout options only. The menu includes their popular dry-fried Lemongrass Tofu, which is generously portioned for multiple meals.
First off, the lemongrass tofu is the finest presentation of this soy-based protein I've ever had. In addition, many great menu options abound, ranging from vermicelli and stir fry to lo mein and spring rolls. Several great soups are in tow as well (hence the name) such as the curry tofu and the hot and sour. Having frequented this place since 2009, I can vouch for the consistency and quality of this family-owned business. One of my favorite restaurants in Memphis.

The Lemongrass tofu is amazing. My son is a vegetarian but I'm not so when he tell me about the restaurant I was kind of skeptical. But 3 years later I can say this is one of my favorite places to get food. The service is great they know you by face when you come in makes you feel appreciated as customer. You’ve never had tofu like this!! I consider myself a bit of a tofu connoisseur and my goodness this is some of the best tofu I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten it from all over Asia,we’re so lucky to have them! Buffet was not maintained. Mostly fried food and tofu. My 84 year old mom couldn't eat what was on buffet and they would not let her order off the menu, even though they did do last week. Lots of folks like this place though. It's always packed.

If you are anywhere near the zoo- or even if you have to drive across Memphis, place your order and enjoy the huge portions, cheap prices, and delicious food. You will be grateful! We got 3 vegetarian tofu dishes plus spring rolls and they were all amazing, though I’m sure the meat dishes are good as well.

Absolutely love Pho Binh! Is one of my top 10 restaurants in Memphis. We usually get the buffet but sometimes order from the menu, the phos are great! The wings are to die for! Best wings in town! Also the egg rolls are the best! I could have them everyday... :) the different kinds of tofu they have in the buffet are delicious. Seating is limited so I recommend getting there early to secure a spot, I highly recommend this place I could have lunch there everyday!

Trying new things! They haven’t let me down yet! The staff is nice and let me try some stuff not gonna attempt to say what it was but it was like some lamb or something grilled! Mane it was good fam! I love the grilled chicken but I really love the 🔥 gyro meat, yellow rice, hummas, and fries! I kinda like all the sides and just alternate to whatever I’m feeling! I love the pita bread but whenever they run out of pita bread they give you these chopped garlic bread things and I don’t like those! 😂 No fault to them! Just prefer that pita bread!😍 I tried the falafel and it taste to bland for my liking! 🤨 But it’s a great place to eat and I rather eat here than spend my money at all those other fast food spots around here! If you looking for some good quality food that’s fresh, then come here! One of my go to spots and sometimes I feel like they get sick of me lol 😂 Great spot to eat especially after a heavy workout at the gym! 💪🏾

Total disaster! Visited this place after a long time. Used to be good. Had the falafel platter and the spicy chicken pita. Only the Falafel was good and the rice in the platter was so hard and not eatable. The hummus and the dressing was bad and had foul smell. Pita was terrible and the pita chips that it came with were soggy. NOT recommended.

Germantown Parkway, it is a top choice for those seeking Lebanese cuisine, halal dishes, and an overall Mediterranean dining experience.
I always enjoy trying new foods. I had the arabic shawarma, Dubai chocolate, and I sampled a couple of others. The shawarma was fantastic, a nice crunch, not too strongly over sauced. I don't know what was in it, but I certainly want another. Dubai chocolate... oh man. Absolutely delicious. Creamy chocolate and a hint of baklava. A first, hopefully not the last time I have some of that. I also had some Arabic tea, which was very good. I don't drink much other than water. This thing has me amped up. I'm guessing a caffeine thing. I highly recommend it without sugar. The place is clean and staf are super friendly. I am assuming that the grill makes a pungent smell that stings a bit. Either way, I really enjoyed the location. The food was amazing, and everyone was super cool. Loved it!

Cedar’s in Memphis is a fantastic spot for authentic Lebanese food. The chicken shawarma was perfectly spiced and juicy, while the beef kabob had an incredible smoky flavor and was tender with every bite. The cafe is known for its delectable gyro, shawarma, hummus, and tzatziki. Visitors recommend trying the hummus bowl with various toppings and dressings along with chicken shawarma or gyro meat.

What a find! The Happy Greek is a great little Greek cafe located near the University of Memphis. It's small, but the folks are super friendly and the food is delicious. I had a gyro and my wife had a hummus bowl. We split an excellent Greek salad. Couldn't have been better! If you go, be aware that almost all the tables are for two. I love it here! The atmosphere, the comfy furniture, and most importantly- THE FOOD!! My lord. The black bean sweet potato quinoa bowl is my go-to. Comforting, fresh, and they know how to season their food! Great place to grab a seat and work, meet a friend, such a mixed bag and great folks that run it! Bless this place and the wonderful people who own and make it a staple in the community.

Tasty innovative dishes. Made fresh on order. Locally sourced where available. Order st counter, food brought to table. Very clean comfortable environment. Somewhat small/compact. Clean unisex bathrooms.

On the last day of our trip(9/23) we stopped here because I wanted to try the Gourmet Pancakes which are dairy-free. I ordered Blueberry pancakes and a Hot Tea. Pancakes were big and filling. We were greeted when we walked in and the vibe was nice. Background music playing enough to hear, but not loud and disturbing. They have a very diverse menu so finding something to enjoy is not a problem. There is indoor and outdoor seating for personal and business needs. They have a meeting area with a long table, chairs and chalk board. No fee, just request each person place an order. Be sure to stop in while in town, I am happy we did.

A place I will return to! Inspire is such a vibe with the healthy and delicious food options, the friendly staff, and the cozy atmosphere. My hubby ordered the 1/2 egg and cheese quesadillas + Greenline smoothie (sooooo good) while I ordered the Southwest veggie quesadillas (such a big helping). Overly satisfied with our choices and can’t wait to return!

I really wanted to like this place, I like the vibes, it’s a very cute cozy cafe, however i was not impressed with the food. We ordered the bbq chicken bowl, chili, chai latte and a berry smoothie and avocado toast. The chili was delicious and flavorful, and I really liked the avocado toast. However, for the price you are charging, the food is not worth it, the chicken bowl was unseasoned and dry. My main issue was with the drinks, the berry smoothie was delicious, but my chai tasted like water, so I decided to try to order another smoothie to make up for it. The pinakaleada smoothie also tasted like ice and water. I was disappointed that after I tried to spend more money to get a drink I might like, I was disappointed with another watery flavorless drink. Overall, I had hope for this place and did like some of it, but for the prices you’re charging the quality should be more consistent.

I love this place. The hospitality is unmatched and they welcome all walks of life. My hibiscus tea was amazing with added coconut. I didn’t try the food but by the smell of the food I wish I would have. If I come back to Memphis I will definitely be back. GO AHEAD AND COME NOW!

Perfect choice. I came out from downtown, on a hunch that this spot looked right, and it absolutely was. Great atmosphere, and incredibly kind staff. My food was amazing (Quinoa bowl with beans and sweet potato). These are my favorite restaurants, and every town has them. Good mission, good people, good food. Highly recommended!

INSPIRE COMMUNITY CAFE is a hidden gem located in the historic neighborhood of Binghampton, at the corner of Tillman and Sam Cooper. Family owned and run (siblings) it has a very personal feel about the place. It's as of they never met a stranger, because everyone is "family"! The menu is limited but everything is deliciously made with love. I HIGHLY recommend ICC to everyone from all walks of life!!

RP Tracks Restaurant & Bar is a popular hangout spot for college students and locals in Memphis. The menu features a variety of options, including BBQ tofu, loaded burgers, and Mexican dishes. One of their standout items is the world-famous BBQ Tofu Nachos, which are known for their crispy tofu chunks, black beans, tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa on seasoned tortilla chips.
Andrew was the absolute best waiter we have ever had. My wife goes to the college a block away, and I come here to do work on my laptop and drink while she’s in class. This is my 5th visit and Andrew was so awesome I had to give a 5 star review. Cheap beer, outstanding quesadillas, and fantastic service. 2 patios, billiards, great atmosphere 11/10 experience at RP tracks I will continue to come here.

Average at best! Went specifically to try the Thursday Cheesesteaks #GoBirds! let’s say we are still in search of a good one outside of Philly. But, the beer and hand cut fries were the BEST food on the table. 🍻

This might've been the best dinner I had in Memphis! I am usually not a big fan of tofu but you guys made it work so well, and the BBQ tofu quesadilla was delicious! Highly recommend this place or any vegetarian who doesn't want to miss out on the flavours of barbecue!

Upon first arriving, I witnessed a server arguing with the kitchen. My initial thought was to eat elsewhere. But, I thought I'd give it a try. Another server (young lady) came to get our drink order. Just as she was approaching to get our food order, the same server whom I witnessed arguing told her that he was next up in a very rude manner. She walked away, but I didn't feel comfortable with him serving me at this point. I spoke with the manager, and she allowed the young lady to be our server. I know that we all have our bad days. But, the life of servers, bartenders, and all in the field of customer service must make sure we are mindful of our energy. I know that he was remorseful with making me feel uncomfortable. I would love for him to serve me on another visit. I would like to thank the manager for making the switch for my comfort. Felicia

We came two days in a row. The Veggie Patty Melt is on the marbled bread and the Jalapeño Burger with a Beyond Beef Patty and Spinach Artichoke Dip. Everything is absolutely amazing. Good Dirty Martini and beer... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Our waitress was fantastic. She was kind and prompt even in the face of adversity. There was a party there who left without tipping on a $150 bill. I hope ours sort of made up for it. She didn't tell us about this, we just found out by accident. People if you don't want to tip then go to McDonald's.!! Extremely vile and disgusting behavior.

Hamburger restaurant
Located in Crosstown Concourse, Farm Burger Memphis is not your average burger joint. They offer a variety of organic signature and custom burgers made from naturally and humanely raised cattle. In addition to their delicious beef burgers, they also have options for veggie lovers, such as house-made vegan burgers and the Beyond burger. Their menu includes delectable quinoa patties, salads packed with local ingredients like the Southern Harvest, and sides like sweet potato fries.
This little gem is tucked away in the corner of the Central Atrium of the gloriously renovated Crosstown Concourse building in Midtown Memphis. My wife and I got burgers medium and well which you got to pick your topping (up to 3) and they were delicious. The meat was super high quality and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The skinny fries were tasty, my wife thought they were reminiscent of Steak and Shake fries that she enjoys. Also had some Kale Slaw with some good dressing on it. Order took a while to come out, but well worth the wait.
Scott J — Google review
I ate lunch here when visiting Crosstown Concourse to see what it had to offer. It was not crowded so ordering and finding a seat did not take long at all. I ordered a Farmburger with a side of greens. The burger was good, juicy, and tasted as it had been made fresh. It was prepared as I ordered with the toppings I ordered. The greens were good too. The food came out relatively quickly, which was a plus. I took off a star because while the greens were good and flavorful, they seemed like they needed a bit more simmering, in my opinion. Also, when I asked a staff member if the greens were canned they looked and responded to me like I was an idiot for asking because "the name of the place is Farmburger" which I get and I can roll with it but I can see how that type of attitude would rub some folks the wrong way. Still, good spot and I would eat here again.
Jackie D — Google review
I picked up my vegan burger with fries togo. The food was not good. My vegan burger was burnt and bitter but it was still spicy. My fries were old and greasy. I didn't find out until I was gone. I still ate it to give it a chance, but it could be better. Hopefully, I can get a refund? I'm willing to try a regular burger if that makes a difference.

Entering the building was amazing lot of design was put into the building going to Farm burger plus it has a good selection of food to choose from

This was the best burger I've had in a long time. The food was hot, delicious, and came jn generous portions. The restaurant was nice and relaxing with a very clean and tidy eating space. The service was great, food came quick and the prices were amazing almost too cheap to believe because of how good the food is. If you like burgers then look no further. You will be impressed and leave happy and full.
Anson G — Google review
The burger was good. My wife asked for the bun to be toasted. We had to send it back. She really liked the veggie burger. My farmers burger was ok. I did like the sweet potato fries. I really like the location. V

Went there on a Thursday during slow hours and just had a burger nd fries. Ask for the burger in med temp and had the driest well done burger and burnt fries. Also wait 40 minutes for ts.

This was my first dining experience with Farm Burger and might be my last. I was not impressed with the food at all, neither one of my three boys liked their burgers. I ordered 2 farm burgers, a vegan burger, and the double bacon cheese burger and 2 baskets of fries. My vegan burger was pretty mushy and had a burnt unpleasant flavor to it which overpowered the entire burger. My boys burgers they took all about 2 bites and immediately sad it's a no for them. Our fries were mixed in with old and new and just tasted unpleasant and I spent $67 just for it to be wasted on a family dining meal that was just bad. I was not satisfied at all even after I said something to the waiter nothing was offered to compensate the experience. Not even an apology. The young guy at the counter was pretty helpful with the menu.

Located near the famous Graceland, Bala's Bistro is a family-owned restaurant offering a fusion of African and American cuisine. The menu includes vegan-friendly options such as vegan nuggets, burgers, and quesadillas alongside traditional African dishes like Jollof Rice and Fufu. With its roots in Mali, the restaurant is known for authentic West African dishes like Jerked Chicken, Lamb Dibi, and Beef Oxtail.
Bala's Bistro is an amazing experience and vibe. Then, on top of that, the food is amazing. The first dish i was introduced to was the "Salmon Wrap," and it was amazing. My current personal favorite is "Chicken Shish Kabob," but they don't have them every day.
QUANTEL C — Google review
During my recent visit to the restaurant, I indulged in a delightful meal featuring perfectly cooked red snapper, accompanied by a flavorful serving of black-eyed peas and fragrant jollof rice. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness that truly tantalized my taste buds. To complement the meal, I savored a refreshing hibiscus tea that added a delightful floral note to my dining experience. Everything was simply exceptional, and I can't wait to return for another round of such amazing flavors.

This is a gem of an African restaurant! The staff are so friendly and helpful! I highly recommend the vegan saka saka (spinach dish), okra, peanut- butter stew but only if you're not allergic to peanuts, fufu (akin to a slightly chewier form of mashed potatoes) and the hibiscus drink. There's a free parking lot. I would return when in the area.

AMAZING vegan/vegetarian spot! I had the vegan peppered curry, fried sweet plantains, and jollof rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying it and this will definitely be my first stop next time I’m in Memphis. Highly recommend to anyone, vegan or not!
Whitney J — Google review
I order beef fatayas and egusi soup. The eggs I soup was great and we all love it but the beef in the fatayas was bad. You can tell from the taste, I allow multiple people to tasted it, and everyone could taste of spoil meat. I have had fatayas many time from this business and quickly realized they use bad meat on this batch. I support your restaurant despite the overpriced food, so yes I was 100% disappointed. My children ate this mess including other family. If it’s bad just get rid of it, it’s not worth getting anyone sick nor the Reputation of your business. The sauce couldn’t even cover this foul taste of the spoil taste… Unfortunately I had to come back and do an edit on my comment here. One of my family members claimed that’s it was my tastebuds until they got into the middle of this. Smh I can’t believe this is what we was consuming the whole time, which is why it tasted weird. It’s raw spoil meat with rubber in it.

I was looking for something different, so I found Shroomilicious Meals, 394 N Watkins on Google and decided to give them a try. I ordered the shroom Philly roll and the Shroom Crunch Wrap. Both were cooked to order, ate the rolls up before I made it to jackson ave. I live 40 minutes north, and the crunch wrap was still hot when I got home. I was full from the Philly roll, but wanted to try the crunch wrap. Well.....needless to say, im going to sleep with a full belly tonight. The sweet and spiciness of the sauces and whatever they are using for seasoning is scrumptious. Don't sleep on this place if you like vegan food. I will be going back!

Delicious crunchy “fish” sandwich packed with great flavor! The fries were seasoned perfectly too. Also ordered a crunch wrap that was huge and packed with yummy mushrooms and veggies. Not crunchy so much but tasted really good. The lemonade lions mane and pear lemonade juices were so fresh and delicious. Loved that you could grab and go from the cooler. Had a wonderful surprise from the cooler that wasn’t on the menu — a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting and pecans. ALL VEGAN and out of this world! Would totally come back and enjoy a meal from here again, maybe the “wings” just to experience that crunch. Great job keeping it plant based with REAL food. 🙌🏼

I ordered Shroom Fusion Island Bowl, Steam Peppery Cabbage and Korean Chili Tacos. Everything was incredible. Except the rice in the fusion bowl was super dry - it happens. I mixed my cabbage into it to soften it up. I've thought about the tacos everyday since. Go on taco Thursday and they are only $2 each. It's currently take out only, but they said they will be moving to a sit down location soon.

Hands down the best vegan wings I've ever had. The tacos are also super fire. The staff is nice welcoming and as helpful as can be. This place is a gem and should be protected at all costs!!!! I will 100% be making this a spot to frequent.

The food at this vegan place was fire…everything was soooo good! The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It came out quick and fresh. The owner was very friendly and patient with me while reviewing the menu. The prices are reasonable, if sides could be included that would be great considering the portions of sides are quite small. My friend and I tried the vegan philly and the wings. Both were a 10 out of 10. I would recommend to anyone interested in vegan or plant based foods.

Lulu's created our vegan wedding cake. Contact and communication was consistent and simple. I also appreciate that they do not charge "wedding tax" so, the price of a custom cake is... the price of a custom cake! Stephanie did an amazing job making our summer garden vision come true. Plus, our cake was loved by our guests (vegan and non-vegan). Friends and family also enjoyed a trip to the cafe. Food and drinks are always amazing! Thanks y'all!

A chill, low-key vegan cafe with two breakfast options, one lunch option, pastries, and drinks. Food was a bit pricy for the amount, but very flavorful and filling.
Sara M — Google review
I've come here twice back to back during my weekend visit to Memphis. As a vegan, this place is a dream. The first time I came, I got the sausage biscuit, hot matcha latte, and ginger cookie. The biscuit was life changing, especially with the tomato jam. The matcha latte wasn't super great and didn't have much flavor unfortunately. The cookie was fantastic and made perfectly! The next day, I got the breakfast sandwich, pumpkin pie bar, ube matcha bar, and orchard souls cake. I only ate the sandwich, as I'm bringing the baked treats back to Jackson with me. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! It was so so good. Next time, I'm going to ask if I can get the bread toasted. What a wonderful place!!!
Sam H — Google review
Honestly worth the trip to Memphis just for this! New wave plant based spot that shies away from using the word vegan (which has developed a negative connotation). All the food is local fresh handmade, down to the cultured items and butter etc. Had the breakfast sandwich with tofu egg, the sausage biscuit (which was to die for and the item that put Lulus on the map back in their farmers market days). Also had the beet Reuben. I love a great vegan Reuben. The bread was awesome and all the flavors were spot on. Soup was excellent. We got lots of cookies, scones and other sweet treats to go. All A+. Coffee program was excellent. (And free refills!) This place does a few good items and the succeed in trying to do few things very very well. Met a couple of the owners, very nice people. The place is employee owned. Awesome! Worth a detour.

A vegan spot, full of hip and cool vibes. I got my bagel with sea salt toasted and served with cashew milk cream cheese. This is the first time I tasted vegan cream cheese and I loved it. I also got myself a slice of tres leches - and it was decent too. Overall a very chic place.

Took the husband there today. Didn’t tell him it was vegan until we were on the way. He was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised. He enjoyed it. This vegan restaurant specializes in nutrient-packed salads that burst with flavor, like their sweet potato salad featuring roasted maple-glazed potatoes, pomegranate seeds, and a delectable maple Dijon vinaigrette topped with crunchy pecans. Even non-vegans find themselves enchanted by the freshness of the ingredients and the deliciousness of their offerings—many patrons return weekly!
RawGirls is a health food truck normally located off Poplar, a block or two from the Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz dealership. My wife regularly keeps her eyes open for healthy food restaurants or alternatives. She had their Taco Salad, and I tried one of their juices, and I was pleasantly shocked .
QUANTEL C — Google review
The food tastes great and it’s a healthier option for us. The items seem overpriced compared to other health food restaurants in town. The portions are also small. I asked if they could increase the salad size and other item portions, but they remain the same size. The cookie recipes have changed from being soft and rich in flavor to hard and less flavor. I tried to let them know about this, but the recipe remains the same. I also wanted a replacement cookie for the overly hard one I purchased a few days before my a visit and they refused. I can’t immediately return to the restaurant every time a mistake is made, because the mistakes occur often. Hopefully, the new owner will be more receptive to customers’ needs.

I got three soups from Uber Eats when me and two others were starving in the waiting room of a hospital. They looked delicious in the picture and we were so excited to have hot soup. They arrived cold in a plastic bag. We were so disappointed we couldn’t eat the cold soup in a bag. No bowls, no spoons. Too bad it didn’t give us any information about not readily edible, I mean I purchased it under restaurant and not grocery item. Then when we got home I tasted the’ brothy coconut soup. Disappointed! - my soups are so much tastier. Price was okay but the taste and arriving cold gets a two maximum.

It takes SKILL to turn a school bus into a food truck, especially a food truck that only serves vegan food! A friend of ours booked The Speed Vegan for an event. I ordered the cheeseburger. It was FANTASTIC!! I saw one of the owners outside on the grill cooking the burgers. For that one guy who complained about the service he received because he was traveling, REALLY?? There are other vegan restaurants in town. To post they wouldn't open because of your busy traveling schedule has nothing to do with the Speed Vegan and shouldn't reflect negatively on them.

My husband went to 3 different food trucks in the time it took me to order my food and was back before I even received it. My meal was also incorrect, I should’ve had two fries for my two burgers but only had 1 bag of fries. Slow and inaccurate. They also only accepted cash or cash app rather than card. Nowhere did it say that it didn’t accept cards. I wasn’t informed until I got to the front of the line (after over an hour of waiting). Every business should have methods to accept ALL forms of payment. Waste of my time.

I started eating vegan when I tried their Unbelievable Burger, it was fantastic. My blood pressure, blood sugar is down to normal, I've lost 18 pounds and feel great. Changing my diet has been great their food makes it even better.
Derek S — Google review
Besides the long wait times it's legitimately a guessing game as to when they will be open. How do you expect people to want to support your business when you close before the kids get out of school. Food is good but with all that's been said it's not worth it. I'd rather make the drive to imagine cafe.
LET'S A — Google review
Couldn’t eat their food. Came from Arizona, called 6 times to try to figure out where they were, because their address changed. Upon arrival at the right address (their voicemail tells you the new address), they told me they were closed and wouldn’t be open till Sunday. They didn’t care at all when I said I was from out of town and wanted to try their food. They said that they tried to change the hours of operation on Google maps but couldn’t ... That’s not what it takes to run a successful business, unfortunately. I am extremely unhappy as many places are now closed after trying to find them for the past hour.

Whoa guys. So good. I had their vegan burger with kale as my side and moon juice. It was all amazing. I want another one today but sadly I’m a couple hours away from Memphis. Nestled in the heart of downtown, Huey's Downtown is a charming tavern that perfectly captures the essence of relaxation and good times. Known for its mouthwatering hand-breaded onion rings and hearty burgers adorned with bleu cheese crumbles, jalapenos, and crispy onion straws, this spot is a must-visit for food lovers. The inviting atmosphere makes it family-friendly, ensuring that kids will enjoy their time here as much as adults do.
Got the smash burger which was not very smashed, but very good. The burger sauce is a huge winner. Got the sausage and cheese plate to start, and that was pretty yum. Also ordered was a Philly, French Onion soup and shrimp poboy, nothing disappointing! Turns out my son doesn't remember ever eating steak cut fries, and they are served without salt, which I appreciate. The service was really great. They have a bunch of customer testimonies on the wall and lots of character, and I like that. They had a good selection of beers on tap, and a full bar, while still being pretty family friendly. Overall a great place that I'd be happy to return to.

Not such a great experience… Advertised 2 for one drinks , we never got them, then got charged a whopping 18% service charge after 8pm. And all served on polystyrene plates with plastic cutlery . I expected better

Fun decor with a lot of different art and decorative items all over the place. Staff was very friendly and very helpful Ordered fried mushrooms, Famous hurt burger with tater tots. Mushrooms were well fried well. Burger with Cheddar was cooked as expected and as ordered. (Med/Well) Tater tots toasted and went well with burger Overall, a nice place to get a burger and drink. From the time I sat down, ordered and received my food it didn’t take more than 10 mins. This place is 100% worth stopping in for some American classic food

Fantastic service from my waitress. I ordered a Spinach Salad and the West Coast Burger ( double patty) both were good. The burger was amazing! Cooked perfectly! I do have two complaints: 1.) the bespectacled manager brought my burger and laughed when she put the basket on my table that the guacamole slid off the sandwich. It actually looked terrible and maybe a better effort with presentation would have been nice; 2.) both my salad and burger were adorned with a large chunk of red onion. I like eating the sliced onions but those pieces didn’t do anything to make the meal look better or more appealing(see photos).Slice the onion.

Classic Memphis experience with incredible burgers and fast, informal, but friendly service. The smash burger was perfect. Will definitely go back!

The Beyond burger and onion rings exceeded all my expectations for a restaurant that wasn't targeted at all to non-meat eaters. Ordered the food to go and had a drink at the bar while I waited. There were only a handful of people at the place, so YMMV, but it was chill, well air-conditioned, and a good value. The vegan burger toppings were the perfect amount of melty/cheesy/gooey, didn't skimp on the pickles; the 1.5" thick onion rings were nicely breaded, made with red onions, and had a very nice fry.

Always a great time at this location. Liz makes sure to take care of us during trivia. Quick and attentive service whenever she’s working! Great vibes, and the food is definitely a nice bang for your buck!

Truly great stop and worth the visit. The family enjoyed each of their meals. A "Madison" for my wife, "Nachos" for our chip princess, "Kids Burger" for little man and I chose the world renowned "Huey Burger". I also ordered onion rings. We chose the "Spinach & Artichoke dip" as an appetizer. The server Asia, was great. She was responsive and friendly. If we are in the area again, we will try other items on the menu.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant
Brother Juniper's is a popular diner on the University of Memphis campus that serves up fresh, healthy breakfast and brunch dishes. From scrambles to omelets, there's something for everyone at this quaint eatery. The rolls are fluffy and the service is friendly and welcoming.
This restaurant is always worth the wait. I usually always get the cinnamon roll pancakes but today I branched out with an open faced omelet and I’ve really been missing out. Our server today was Kyle and he was super nice and never missed a beat with any of his tables. He was on top of everything. 10/10 always.

We really enjoyed the food! We ordered different omelets, and all of them were delicious and well-prepared. I usually don’t leave negative comments, but I feel it’s important to be honest. The service could definitely be improved. As example, Including the 45-minute wait in line, it took nearly 1 hour and 55 minutes for everyone at our table to receive their food. We were a group of five, and one person received their plate first, followed by a 25-minute gap before the rest were served.

On this day 3/23/25 we decided to skip church and go check out this highly rated breakfast spot. Unfortunately as awesome as the food was (minus the cheese grits) the service was absolutely horrible. We walked in and had a staring contest with the 3 hostess in the front. I finally asked do we seat ourselves they all replied no but said nothing after that mind you it's 47 degrees outside (cold) we were then asked if we wanted to sit on their patio (outside) 3 other groups came in behind us that were all greeted with welcoming smiles and instantly taken into the lower dining area to be seated. While still standing up front we informed staff that we too want to dine with everyone else indoors and from that point it just got worse. At this time we were the only African American couple in the room and the stares began, the room got so quiet once we walked in along with some eye rolls. Nothing about this experience felt welcoming, it was a great deal of tension from both staff and guests (not all but a great portion) we both felt like we were not supposed to be there. We were going to leave but then our food arrived which we ended up getting to go boxes and ate in the park in our car instead. It's very unfortunate to read more reviews of others having very similar experiences. The food was great but unfortunately due to our initial experience we won't be back to patronize this establishment. Not implying anything only sharing our experience and hoping others have a better experience moving forward. I guess we won't be skipping church anymore.

It's a new experience and it was lovely. A nice birthday gift. I have breakfast with salmon, eggs, toast, and grits. The salmon was in the eggs, and it was great. The bacon from my friends plate was crispy like they liked it. Thanks

I had breakfast at Brother Juniper’s the other day and it was fantastic. The eggs benedict with grits was rich and delicious, but the star of the meal was definitely the cinnamon roll pancake—it was sooo good! Sweet, fluffy, and drizzled perfectly, it tasted just like a cinnamon roll in pancake form. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made it even better. This place is a must for breakfast in Memphis!

My friend and I grabbed breakfast here months ago and we still can’t forget how great the food and service was. The Coffee and French toast were divine and the quirky mugs offered a really homey vibe! I also adored that they had their own jar of complimentary syrup!

COZY! We love coming to Brother Juniper’s although we don’t come often. I love the atmosphere and the layout of the restaurant. The ceilings are low and the tables are close together giving a more intimate feeling. I had two biscuit sandwiches and both were excellent. I had the sausage and egg biscuit and the egg and cheese biscuit. My daughter had the pancake with eggs, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. She said her meal was great as well. The service was fast and friendly. We look forward to returning.

Thanks Britt for recommending this spot. My eyes popped out while reading the menu!! I wanted to try EVERYTHING. I ordered the duck quesadilla and an al pastor taco. LOTS of food - just one triangle of the quesadilla was heavy, full of meat and bigger than the whole taco. FLAVORS WERE AMAZINGLY FRESH! Dang this was good. Didn't expect these in-house made chips either! They were very good (especially with lime) but I think they should be served with salsa... or SOMETHING. Overall, I spent $24 before tipping. I would DEFINITELT go back. ❤️

Visited this place on good Friday. Its always crowded but this time it was not. Walked to the hostess podium the hostess was assisting another couple she didn't speak or address us. She came back from seating them still didn't address us but waited until a group of Caucasian people stepped in to address them then only speaking to us when the people she addressed looked at us. I was tempted to just not even stay but it was my Birthday so I wasn't going to let anyone ruin my day. The waitress was very nice and polite suggested her favorites on the menu. The food was okay the drinks were okay didn't taste much alcohol. For the place to be crowded regularly I expected top tier food and drinks.

Nice place. Really cute! I got the Honey Shrimp and Steak on the stick. The dishes are well presented..so cute and really good! Only thing I can say is the Brussel sprouts were alittle overcooked but the potatoes and steak were really good. I also had the Guava Rita, super good with the pink peppercorn! They do have outside seating on the backside by the bar.

Dined in for lunch today. The food was not worth the price and we unfortunately had bad service as well. I ordered a Cobb salad and was brought the wrong salad, which isn’t a big deal, but I sat and waited for over 20 minutes for the correct salad to be brought over. It seemed like our waitress forgot about our table. Everyone else at the table was done eating by the time I received my correct salad so I had to put it in a to-go box - it ended up being wasted as we had plans following lunch. The waitress seemed to not care in the slightest. When we were brought the bill they had charged us for two salads so we then had to wait for a corrected bill. Would not recommend! For this price point there are many other better options.

Ate at this restaurant for lunch during a trip to Memphis. It's in a good area because there are other shops around that you can visit before or after your meal. I like the restaurant's layout and they have inside and outside dining areas. The service was good and the staff I encountered were all friendly. I ordered the tacos and rosti potatoes. The tacos were good but a bit pricey for what you actually get. The potatoes were great and I would recommend them if you visit. It was a good meal and I would eat here again if I was in the area.

My partner and I have been eating at Babalu for many years because of the great atmosphere and delicious food. Because of our previously great experiences, we decided to host our graduation party at the Overton location on the patio. Overall, the actual event went well, but not without some serious issues with management during the planning stage. I started planning around 5 months in advance to make sure everything went smoothly, which did not help at all. It was incredibly difficult to get in touch with Babalu during this time, and they were initially sending correspondence to the completely wrong email address for weeks. There seemed to be no communication among the management due to confusion when talking to different managers. There were many times that a member of the management team did not know or remember our event date, time, location, or catering choices. At one point, someone told us we wouldn't be allowed to serve alcohol on the patio because after much correspondence, they STILL thought they were catering an at-home party. The whole experience was stressful and incredibly frustrating. They did not give a quote for the cost until a few days before, and when we checked on other details the day before, they had many things written down completely wrong. During the actual event, we had a singular waitress for over 20 people, and were not given appetizer plates. We had to beg for napkins other than the few cocktail napkins that were provided. I will never host another event at this location due to these frustrations.

I stopped by Babalú Latin Restaurant and was served by John and Brady, who made the experience feel effortless and welcoming. I tried the Lavish Lemon Spritz, which was light, crisp, and perfectly balanced with citrusy brightness. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, the service is top tier, and the cocktails are worth coming back for.

Babalu has been my favorite restaurant for 10 years. I actually worked there for a couple years then continue going to eat regularly for the past decade. I get the same thing pretty much every time- shrimp tacos & rosti potatos. So, I went this weekend and was pretty disappointed to find that they changed the recipe for the shrimp tacos. They used to come with cilantro slaw, comeback sauce, & Cotija cheese- a perfect recipe. They were delicious. Now that the recipe changed, it did not sound appealing at all so I decided to order something else. I got the steak on a stick because it’s served with the rosti potatos. I was with a group of 5 people and it took over 40 minutes for our food to come out which was weird because it was a Sunday evening and not even busy, but we were chillin & drinking so it was fine. But then when the food did come out, I was again pretty disappointed. 2/3 of my steak skewers were good, but one of the skewers was nothing but super fatty inedible meat. And the rosti potatos were the driest I’ve ever received after probably 500 trips to this restaurant over the past decade. I asked for some extra teriyaki glaze for the potatos and was brought some sort of sweet & sour sauce instead. Also, my friend tried to order 3 separate drinks that were all out of stock. Our waitress was nice, but overall this was by far the most disappointing dining experience I’ve ever had here. My friends enjoyed their food and maybe I was a bit more critical because I expected the dining experience I’ve always received here. Anyway, unless they bring back the old shrimp tacos & the comeback sauce, I probably won’t even go back again which is super sad for me.

My goodness!! If only I had pictures of the experience that I could share. I had such a great time I forgot to take pictures of the food, but this experience was just so phenomenal. It’s my third time patronizing this location altogether. (2 dine-in and 1 takeout; each time positive experience.) I was there to celebrate my mother’s birthday and from the moment I placed my reservation that morning I was dealt with in a courteous manner and utmost patience. Thank you Ben for setting the tone for a great evening and thank you Ms. Dean later when I called to confirm that I was still on my way. Although I recommend trying your best to be on time for your reservation out of respect to the staff and guests, I ended up being an hour late (but I asked my guests to check in for me); however, the diligence and care of the staff was touching. I was escorted to my reserved area with a smile. The reservation was originally for a smaller amount of guests but since I was unsure about the specific number in attendance, when I got there they had not 1, but 2 tables reserved! Ana, our server for the first table, promptly greeted us and had a perfect attitude which gave us an even more pleasant experience! She was so attentive to our needs that night, and did everything in a timely manner. I’ve never had such excellent service. She even took pictures of our guests for us, and was very friendly. I believe Rachel was the name of the server at our second table and she even served the couple who came in a little before closing with us. When I did interact with her she did very well and an excellent attitude! All of the food everyone loved, and the guests asked me for recommendations so the majority of them ordered my suggestion which is also the restaurant’s suggestion: cedar plank salmon! I get it every time. Literally the best salmon, veggies, and marble potatoes, but some guests ordered different sides. The lamb I tried was so juicy and tender. I had the botanical smash mocktail and it was good. The birthday girl enjoyed her meal as well and they cater to gluten-free eaters like herself which was another factor in choosing this location. Great selection of food!! Great quality AND quantity at a great price. Beautiful, intimate, and sophisticated ambiance. Also, I love the on-site security and the option of valet parking. The staff that night really took great care of us and it all points back to the great managers there and God. Everything was so perfect that night I knew He was in the midst. All of it was what I prayed for and exceeded my expectations. It was such a magnificent experience and such a blessing—the type of evening that will have our guests, myself, and my mom, whom I surprised that night (was in joyful tears), with a party that will be talked about greatly for years!! Thank you so very much and of course, I will be back and continue to look forward to many more positive experiences. Highly appreciated and highly recommended. :) (The pictures, except the receipt from the night of, are actually from the very first time I tried Seasons 52 which was a great experience.)

We were very impressed with this sandwich shop. The sandwiches were hot and fresh and delicious. They have an incredible bar and served up great beer on tap. I highly recommend this place. I went to Young Avenue Deli last night for a little solo date night, and it did not disappoint! I had the Italian sub with their homemade fries—both were absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I went out to Young Avenue Deli with a few of our friends while we visited Memphis. We tried to come to the Deli before a few months back, but the place was so packed that there wasn't anywhere to sit. We were lucky this time though, and this experience enlightened us on why the Deli was so busy in the first place. First of all, the vibe of the Deli was great. There was a stage for live music, pool tables and foosball. The vintage signs and bar really gave it the deli vibe. Our waitress was incredibly laid back, which I appreciated about the bar/deli atmosphere. The food is what really made this trip worth it. The pimento cheese fries were honestly life changing. The thick cheese stayed gooey as we devoured the fries, unlike other cheese fries where the cheese slides off the fries or it's too little of an amount, there was also a perfect balance of cheese and fry in every bite. The sandwiches were also mind blowing. This was probably the best Chicken Philly I have ever had in my life. The chicken was cooked not in thin shavings which makes it easy for it to come out dry, but instead it was cooked in medium bites, which kept the chicken moist. This paired with the melted mozzarella, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers all on toasted bread made it. My boyfriend enjoyed the muffuletta, and so did I, granted it was a close second to my Chicken Philly. The olive spread on the muffuletta was the best thing about the sandwich, in my opinion. It brought a sense of sweetness to the sandwich which I enjoyed. Overall, I can't wait to go to the Deli again!

We went here a few separate times because it was right down the street from where we were staying. Waitstaff and Bartenders are amazing - food was pretty dang good (get the Mozz sticks) and the drinks were top notch! We definitely made a stop back buy not entirely sober... and they were STILL awesome. PLENTY of room for everything. Plenty. Pool in the back, booths, big bar, high tops and low top tables... like, yeah just go here.

Went on a busy Saturday with perfect patio weather. Food came out relatively quick given how busy it was. I got the Italian sub which looked and tasted more like a pizza flat bread with lettuce, cheese fries on the side with ranch. Star of the lunch was the...... ranch. I'd get the cheese fries again but maybe try a different sub next time.

Super cute and fun bar. Plenty of space inside and out. Really enjoyed my banana moon pie ice cream dessert. It took a while for a waitress to come, and it took a long time to pay. I ended up leaving the table to meet the waitress at the register. Would have been 5 stars if the waitress was more attentive. I’d come back for beers.

Curry Bowl Indian Cuisine is a beloved family-owned restaurant in Memphis, offering a diverse menu featuring both northern and southern Indian cooking styles. The eatery provides a relaxing and welcoming ambiance with friendly staff. With over 100 dishes to choose from, including vegetarian options, it's an ideal choice for those seeking variety while staying true to the spirit of Indian cuisine. The restaurant also offers lunch and dinner buffets, making it a great spot for those looking to explore different flavors every day.
Curry Bowl is my favorite Indian restaurant in the world. I love going for the buffet so I can try lots of different things. The buffet has half vegetarian/half non-veg, so there are plenty of options whatever your diet.

Vegans rejoice. A new all you can eat option is available. Curry Bowl's buffet. I lean more on the vegan side of the spectrum. I don't touch cheese but I make exception for ghee butter. I say that because ghee butter is part of many Indian entrees. If ordering a meal, you can request a vegan preparation. In many cases, that will be honored. I have been going to Curry Bowl for about 3 years and have a few videos about it on my YouTube showcasing regular entrees. Today, I must tell you about this buffet they just opened up. I've been to about 5 Indian restaurants in Memphis. The quality of this food when you taste it is noticeable. I have eaten Indian food across several states for many years. I really like their rendition of onion kulcha bread. The way this bread is made exceeds the quality of bread from any restaurant out there. Basically, it is like a small pizza without cheese. Just pizza style dough, onions, herbs and all made with healthy ingredients. This food has 5-star New York level quality in texture consistency, oil saturation, sauce and temperature. You feel the spices and healthy union of ingredients treat your mind, gut microbiome and overall being. Some of the items may have ghee butter which is known to have benefits for your gut. As you go for multiple servings from the buffet, you don't get that rapid full feeling that discourages you from trying more items. Instead, you can make several trips to the buffet and have an opportunity to try as many items as you want, comfortably. Unique to this visit was the ginger chutney. I never had that before and many know that ginger is a major health ingredient to boost the immune system. This chutney had the right balance of ginger, spiciness and sweetness. I like how all the chutneys were arranged. They are great dips for breads, pakoras and more. The people who work the restaurant are genuine and authentic. Nice, courteous and fully committed to excellent service. Has been that way for years. This was my first visit to the buffet after learning about it a few weeks ago on a visit to get some of that bread. They are closed on Tuesdays and the buffet on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday is about 5 dollars less at the time of this review. Friday through Sunday is the super buffet with more items and variety. Again, the taste, 5-star expert chef level precision, cleanliness, courtesy and healthy make of the food is what sets this restaurant apart from others of its kind. I can think of only 1 other Indian restaurant in Memphis that has this level of quality, but they don't have a buffet at this time.

The food has the best taste in the USA (I have tried at least 20 different Indian restaurants in States now). Their service is pretty good. The atmosphere is soothing. They may not have fancy looking walls but they have a very well mannered set of waiters. If you ever visit Tennessee, and want to taste some authentic Indian food at really cheap price, this place is a must visit.

The garlic and the chili naan were absolutely amazing. I got the shrimp maharaja, and the curry was really good. I hot it at the spicy level, and it was just right for me. My wife ordered the chicken tikki misala, and she said it was too spicy for her even at the lowest setting. I also tried a thumbs up drink. It tastes like coke.

Such a great meal and the family is amazing and totally accommodating! Highly recommend!! For reference, we've eaten at Indian restaurants in over 10 states in the US as well as in Singapore. We started with their honey & chili Gobi (butter fried cauliflower-just trust us on this) - this is now my favorite cauliflower appetizer! The flavors were on point and the cauliflower was perfectly crispy fried. We ordered medium heat and it came out more of a DIABLO level (OMG), but after talking to them about it, they made us a fresh dish at a milder level and it was absolutely delicious. Our entrée selections were chicken tiki masala and vindaloo chicken (both medium heat) and both were very good, excellent flavors. We tried butter Naan (bread) and cheese Naan (stuffed with mozarella). The butter Naan was half crunchy and half soft, so the best of both worlds. The cheese Naan was delicious! (different from paneer) During a conversation with the family, we ended up trying masala papad (crunchy cracker like base topped with a mix similar to pico de gallo) and it was SO good. It literally melts in your mouth. (I'm telling you, it's good!) The final thing we tried was vegetable uthappam (pancake style with a crisp bottom and softer top with vegetables cooked into it), this was also good. I loved the crisp yet airiness of the batter! All in all we can hardly breathe now, haha, but had an excellent meal with excellent customer care! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone who loved Indian food or wants to try it - just talk to them, they'll help you order. Enjoy!

This was my first and last time eating here. The food was just okay, and I wouldn’t have made a review until I heated up my leftovers for lunch and saw a bug in my food. Now I have to starve for the rest of my 12 hour shift. Come here if you like your butter chicken with a side of bugs!

Just the best Indian food around. Run by a kind family, their food is consistently delicious with a fairly priced and multitudinous options for buffet diners. Highly recommend for veggies given half the buffet is clearly-labeled vegetarian selection. They almost always have yummy gulab jamun for dessert! If they have it, you’ve got to get the Korma, it is so nutty and rich in flavor.

Southern restaurant (US)
Evelyn & Olive is a cozy spot on Madison Avenue that offers a blend of Jamaican and Southern cuisine in a relaxed, dimly lit setting. The restaurant features an extensive menu with popular dishes like Rasta Pasta, catering to both vegan and vegetarian preferences. Some standout items include jerk chicken wings, blackened tilapia roll, curry goat dutch pot, fish tacos, and grilled jerk shrimp. Guests can also enjoy live music while savoring delectable Jamaican and Southern fare.
I love this place! This was my 1st, but definitely not last visit. The taste is almost authentic to Jamaican food. I had the Jerk infused burger 😋. My co-workers ordered the Rasta Pasta, Jerk Chicken Pasta & Grilled Chicken wrap. Everyone was more than satisfied. Our waiter, Corey, was really nice & attentive. I can't wait to go back. We went during lunch hours (Memphis downtown dinning) & it was not crowded. The prices are not expensive at all. I highly recommend this restaurant

My son and I decided to have our weekly meet up here today and what an awesome choice it was! Being pescatarian and plant based respectively we enjoy going out on most Wednesdays and trying restaurants. There were 3 choices for vegans/vegetarians excluding sides, at E&O. My son had the potato/chickpea curry with a side of greens and rice. It sounded tempting but I went for the black bean tacos served with rice and a tomato & cucumber salad. I have lots of taco experience under my belt before going plant based from Memphis to 5 years in San Antonio. This was THE best tacos I have EVER had. I've had some seriously delicious street tacos but man, this was an altogether different and glorious experience. I cleared my plate, which is odd for me. We also ordered adult beverages. I took my Jamaican Lemonade to go because I was driving. She made it without ice so I am able to have it now at 6:30 pm as I write this. Again, a great experience with properly made drinks. I do look forward to the Jamican Punch but they were out today. Our meals were $10.90 each. A reasonable price for a big meal these days.

Got to visit the place for first time after hearing about it for years, and totally loved it!! We went to this restaurant on a Friday night. It was totally busy, but the servers were attentive. After couple of minutes of waiting, we were showed to our table. Our server was friendly and provided good recommendations on the items to be ordered based on our preferences. Her recommendations were superb! We ordered Jamaican Jerk chicken and Rasta Pasta. I loved the flavors of Jamaican Jerk chicken, it was spicy and on the same note it was sweet too. The contrasting flavors were a perfect blend. Rasta Pasta had a different note of flavor than the pasta which I had in a Italian restaurants. Some Jamaican spices were added to pasta and they complimented the pasta well. I like spicy food, so I enjoyed the food to the fullest. Do not forget to try their deserts- cream cheese pound cake. It was a delight to my sweet tooth!

As soon as our feet crossed the threshold, we were greeted. It felt like we had come to an aunts place. Mary was the most informative and hospitable server. We ate slow, talked, laughed, and enjoyed! The lemonade was perfection. The beef patties were full of spicy flavor enveloped in a flaky pastry. The ox tails were tender and moist. It reminded me of a succulent roast packed with flavor. I had the pasta ot was packed with flavor and more than I could finish.

Located on Madison Avenue headed towards downtown Memphis i’ve heard a lot about Evelyn and Olive and decided to give it a try. This is a Jamaican restaurant which is my first time eating Caribbean food so definitely kept an open minded of the menu. Upon arriving I walked in it’s just a simple restaurant nothing fancy about it at all. We waited for a good 5 to 7 minutes to be seated due to there was only one hostess which was the bartender and the server. She was really nice overall. So we decided to order a little bit of everything I received the Caribbean fried chicken which was a 30 minute wait because it was cooked to order with a side of cabbage and a cucumber and tomato salad. My sister got the jerk chicken with the rice and peas and the cabbage. We both split a beef patty as an appetizer. Let’s start off with the appetizer the beef patty it was pretty good I never tasted anything like that I can’t tell you what it taste like but it was a very interesting taste I wish they had some type of dipping sauce because it became a tad bit dry but overall it was pretty tasty. The Caribbean chicken like I stayed there earlier I waited 30 minutes because it was cooked to order and I didn’t get anything Caribbean about it it was just fried chicken with light seasoning and it is not the best fried chicken that I’ve ever had. So that was definitely a disappointment the cabbage was amazing it gave me a vegetable stew type of vibe. it taste so good it has green beans ,Corn and peppers . it was amazing!! taste out of this world. The cucumber and tomato salad it was OK they could have used a tad more of Italian dressing in it but you got what you ask for tomatoes and cucumbers. The other meal we receive was the jerk chicken which was super dry they did not have any sauce on it so it taste OK but it taste like they over cooked it for sure the rice and peas were very tasty they were warm wish they were hot but you can’t expect hot I guess at this restaurant. Overall experience was OK definitely three stars would have gave it two but the cabbage was so good it deserve three. Will not be returning back here unfortunately it really not worth a revisit. FYI there is a 20% gratuity which is not an issue with me but it might be issues to others

I was very annoyed that I had to wait another 40 minutes post my pickup time, but I was willing to show grace because many small restaurants are understaffed. But my food wasn't worth the wait, unfortunately. I heard good things about the oxtails, but I guess I went on the wrong day. They tasted like they had been reheated several times or cooked too long. The fried green tomatoes were not good. The wings were just okay. I might try again in the late future, but right now it's a no for me.

Super friendly staff and personable. Efficient service. Ordered the potato and chickpea curry. So delicious. Comfort food- felt so full after. Very affordable. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Would definitely return while in Memphis. Seated immediately on Thursday night- not too busy.

So for my birthday I decided to try out a spot that I saw so many good reviews about and had to give it a try. The Rasta Pasta with shrimp was so delicious with a kick of spicy! I also ordered two Jamaican Rum punch! No I didn’t drink both! lol But you will need some stronger if you’re a real drinker! But my food was hot & fresh just how I love it! I will definitely try again in the future.

Shocked to see this doesn’t already have 5 stars. Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful in helping me decide what to order. The food portions and quality was amazing, loved every bit of it, and had a bunch extra to take home. The atmosphere is fantastic, and I will definitely be stopping by again next time in Memphis.

Mulan Asian Bistro - Young Ave Brief Review... 1st time here... BEST thing about Mulan Asian Bistro was our server... August. He was attentive and eager to please. I didn't mind the automatic 20% tip that was added to the bill. They warn you about this by a note posted at the entrance. I upped the ante a little because he earned it. MIDDLE GROUND -- the entrée. After reviewing the extensive menu, I ended up ordering my usual General Tso's Chicken... you get the choice of white rice, brown rice or chicken fried rice.. (not just fried rice, but CHICKEN fried rice) As you can see from the pic below, the presentation was lovely, but the main protein was just average. WORST -- the 'chicken' fried rice, it was just inedible.... There was no chicken in their chicken fried rice. We took great pains to try to find any chicken in either bowl that was offered and it just tasted 'off'... Neither Wendy nor I were able to identify the taste/ingredient that was throwing it into the inedible category. Ending on a happier note: their sweet tea was delicious.

Garbage! These people only care about profit and have no issues selling you recycled food or leaving off items. The sautéed green beans were dry, old and recooked to sale which made them taste dry, old and burnt; the egg foo young was jellied inside and the egg rolls were old and cold. Avoid this place! Garbage!

I was very disappointed in this place. I moved here from California restaurant owner myself & it's so hard to find great food here. I basically order the same thing every time I go here, but today they wanted to play with my top... 3 extra for snow peas plus 4 for extra pork & they served me like I was a bum today... and really couldn't believe it. And then one of the ladies sat there and tried to count the pieces of pork. we both saw the snow pea was basically non-existent. So since they played with my top, I had to show her better that I can tell her.... 1st photo is theirs noodles, and the 2nd is the one I made.... they never know who they are serving, but I'm the worst critic because truly I can make it myself, but sometimes I just want a break from the kitchen... when I'm disappointed in a place I often show them what their food should like especially for the price....

Mulan Asia did not disappoint! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish had great taste and presentation. On top of that, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to and recommending to others!

We arrived at 8 pm for a late dinner. The food was delicious! We had fish hot pot (spicy), egg foo young with beef, and steam rice. She had a couple of different mocktails. I had the sweet sake flight. If you like sweet...it's nice. It starts subtle with the peach to very sweet by the time you get to the lychee. Our server was great! She aim to please.

I called them and placed my order for dinner and then picked up. The place looks a bit shiny, upscale, and hip. I’m sure dine in experience would have been much better. The food was a bit expensive in comparison to other Chinese restaurants, however, the food is really good. Be it the quality, freshness, good ingredients, preparation, portion size everything is top. We ordered house special chowmein and a spicy fried chicken. Both the dishes were terrific. I would highly recommend the place and I myself will definitely go back. Update: I ordered again, and this time also the food was great. Major update: after ordering food from this place quite a few times through Uber eats, this time I went on-site in the restaurant for dine in experience. The food was food, so the ambience. Quantity wise, it’s humongous, more than you would get if the food is getting delivered.
Debisree R — Google review
I got the General Tso's chicken, which is always one of my favorites and it certainly did not disappoint. My only complaint is that they left the utensils out of the bag. But it was so much better than any of the other places I've ordered from that I'll let it slide.

The restaurant caters to business crowds at lunchtime and families as well as couples during dinner hours.
I tried this place for the first time yesterday cause of a coworker. I was honestly so impressed with the food that I went today for dinner. The food was hot and fresh and you can tell everything is made to order. I am also impressed that the food isn’t expensive. I got the general pao spicy beef and my husband got the Korean bbq steak. It’s a good place for a cute inexpensive date And the service was great. Everyone there would make a round coming to check and see that everything was fine. And the atmosphere is cute dimly lit with candles on each table. I would definitely come back again.

This place is absolutely incredible! The food is mouthwatering, and the service is top-notch. It’s not my first time here, and I always leave feeling satisfied. The only downside is that it’s a bit of a drive, about 30-40 minutes. I was super excited to come on Monday, but unfortunately it’s closed on Mondays when I’m off work. I’ll have to wait until Tuesday to indulge again. But hey, the food is absolutely AMAZING!!!!! I highly recommend it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great food and great service. The manager checked on us twice to make sure we were well taken care of. I tried the Korean bbq beef and my partner tried the broccoli with garlic sauce rice bowl with chicken. Both dishes were delicious. We also ordered a side or picked cabbage for an appetizer which was also a pleasant and light way to start our meal. Overall great experience. Highly recommend. 🤗

Got our food quickly, you pay & order at the back counter and they bring your food to the table. Nice quiet atmosphere, tinted windows. Decent portions but lacking in protein amount, and they gave use regular white rice rather than sticky rice. I liked the restaurant, and recommend the Thai tea!

We went for the dinner and it was late in night, almost close to their closing time. The place was not much packed obviously. The server was sweet. He hurried up as the kitchen was closing but never rushed us. We started with some pan fried dumplings. They were hot, steamy, and good. My husband got some tofu with veggies and I got myself kung pao chicken. Both the dishes were served with steamed rice. The portion size was decent for a single person and the food was hot and fresh. I would return surely.

My husband and I absolutely love to done at this place if we are in the mood to have some Asian food. We usually order "Mr Eddie's favorite noodles" and "veggie pad thai noodles with tofu", and must I say that both of these vegetarian dishes are lip smacking good! This place had the best noodles that I've tasted in Memphis yet. That said we did order their basil rolls and a spring roll as starters today. While the spring roll was as you would expect it to taste, I didn't quite enjoy the basil rolls as much as I thought I would. Overall, if you're looking for some great noodle places, this is the place to try!

I ordered Mr.eddies noodle dish , sesame chicken , and shrimp fried rice . I’m disappointed to say the least .The rice had baby shrimp with visible feces in it, and it turned my appetite completely off the sesame chicken had no sauce whatsoever and they just taste like chicken nuggets. They were OK though crispy I’ll give them that the rice had no flavor at all. the noodle dish was very good. I ordered chicken and I’m so glad I didn’t order shrimps because I would have not eat it if I saw poop visible and I had the potstickers and they were good but would I come here again hell no. Hope this helps someone looking for honesty. 60 dollars on something I didn’t even eat .

New American restaurant

Loflin Yard is a popular spot in Memphis, offering American cuisine and cocktails in a laid-back atmosphere with outdoor seating. The venue features firepits and serves hot cocktails like hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps and the Mizzus Swiss with coffee, tequila, creme de cacao, and chocolate. Additionally, it offers a variety of seasonally inspired sweets from other local restaurants.
I’ve been wanting to try Loflin Yard for over a year after hearing so many rave reviews, and it did not disappoint! We stopped by with the family, and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid-back afternoon. The chicken wings were a hit with everyone, perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the grilled chicken sandwich was just as delicious. I personally loved the frozen Paloma—it was the perfect refreshing drink to enjoy while taking in the weekend and outdoor vibes (from inside in the AC). The service was friendly and quick, and we can’t wait to come back for another round. Highly recommend!

Holy cow, this place is amazing! Wonderful smoked meat. I have the sausage and the brisket. Also have the macaroni and cheese and true Mexican corn. What a great treat! Also have a huge outdoor area that is fun to hang out in and what room here is that it’s dog friendly. You should come check it out!

First time visitor but definitely won't be my last! Can you say AMAZING ATMOSPHERE!!! This place is just beautiful. Plenty of outdoor space. Corn hole games are also outside. If you decide to sit outside I would say be mindful of the mosquitoes! They were horrible after the sun started to set. I had the chicken tacos, they were delicious although they don't have taco sauce or Salsa to go with the Tacos. Definitely would give this location a 10 out 10 just based on the atmosphere.
Kasheena E — Google review
A chill place where dogs are welcome both inside and out, and the staff is patient even when you ask annoying questions (like whether there’s extra items off the menu—there isn’t). I ordered the brisket salad expecting something forgettable, but it showed up looking composed and tasted fancier than expected! The beer list is short, but they offered a frozen cocktail tasting, which was generous. I chose the least syrupy one, but even that slid into candy-sweet after a few sips. I just stopped by for a little bit while in town, but I would be a regular if I lived in the area!
Alex B — Google review
My american burger didn't have a lot on it! Like a "whataburger or burgerking" size meat inside, one small slice tomato, onion and no pickles or mayo, mustard or ketchup! They gave me two packs of ketchup for my extra charge french fries (only possible to come with potato chips) not of your choice either! My wife chicken wings were close to raw with sauce on them. We both had one alcoholic beverage, hers was good. Place was too expensive for this type food!

You need to make this your go-to hang out spot because there isn’t a better place in Memphis. Especially in the summer and fall Loflin is my go-to spot for an after work drink and their snack options are perfect (but good luck picking just one). If it’s a date or you’re going out with a big group it’s an amazing spot - make sure you challenge your friends to some cornhole

I've been coming to this coffee shop since I was 7 years old. I remember when it used to be a futon store. I've done most of my homework for high school here, studied for exams here, even wrote my first couple research papers here. Otherlands has a special place in my heart. But, guys, I say this with all the love in my heart, please figure out the wifi situation. 🥺🙏 It seems to have gotten worse lately. I basically either have to tether my computer to my phone or download all my files ahead of time and work offline. The main reason I come here is to get work done, and I want to keep coming here and giving you my business. ❤️ Love you. PS - to anyone reading this, if you don't know what to order, get the bagel sandwich. I recommend an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. Whenever I've been away from home for too long, I start to dream about that secret sauce 🥹

Baristas stared at me blankly when I first walked in. You don’t need to be overly happy, but addressing I’m there would be nice. Cappuccino was not good. Vegetarian sandwich was tasty but what sadist packs an open faced sandwich with melted cheese in tin foil? 6-8 chips as a side of chips is pretty weird but you do you. At least the tuna sandwich was tasty. Maybe the food and service is better when not taken to go.

A homeless man was sitting at the bar with a coffee and water. A gray haired lady came and blasted the poor guy and threatened to call the cops. He wasn't doing anything. Just sitting there. Horrible to do that to a person and got on to a person for giving him water. He is a person too. Will not ever recommend this place.
Clay G — Google review
It's weird, I go to Otherlands a lot, but it's just not that good. Plenty of potential to be great, but underperforming. This most recent time, I'm pretty sure they skimped on the espresso in my drink. I'm not a complainer, so I paid for them to put an additional shot of espresso in my drink (and now it actually tasted like it had some). It's also a quite dirty place, dust and dirt everywhere. You can see it floating through the air that you're breathing in. Anywho, I'll keep going because there aren't many options around.

Wonderful experience, food was good, I would prefer the pizza bread be made in house, but it was good. Service and staff were warm and welcoming. Went on Christmas night and felt right at home.

I thought Marciano would be an Italian restaurant, but it’s an Italian fusion so a lot of their foods taste like Italian mixed with a little Latin flair. I rated them with three because I felt like eating Italian that night and a lot of their flavors had light cumin flavor, and the crème brûlée was like a Flan. Although not bad I still wanted a regular crème brûlée and this was more like a Jello.

I'm super excited to review this restaurant. It is a hidden gem with the best food. Staff is always pleasant and friendly. The cook is consistent with his cooking. Well, let me start by saying that I was "NOT IMPRESSED" at all !!! They serve a lot of pasta, but "NO" garlic bread at all !!! So I was not happy! Our food was good, just missing garlic bread for sure! Oh, and when I went to the restroom, the smell about knocked me down!! Their "Handicap stall" leaves a lot to be desired, it has a regular (short) toilet, which is very hard to get up from if you're an elderly handicapped person like myself!! The only really nice thing about our visit is our waitress was super!!!!

Let me say I've never tasted pesto sauce.... Their homemade pesto sauce was to die for!! I believe they sell it I'm definitely buying some next time we go! There were only 2 things... 1 it was super quiet! Needs some soft music playing..could have been because it was like 2 hours before closing but they didn't mind us playing some music on our phone! 2 there were bits of shell in my lump crab stuffed manicotti... My husband said "hey at least you know it's real crab"! 😂😂😂

Ethiopian restaurant
Halal restaurant
Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant in Memphis is a true gem, offering an adventure into rich and aromatic Ethiopian flavors. The restaurant serves up traditional African fare, honey wine, and Ethiopian coffee in a modest setting. Diners can expect hearty veggie platters filled with lentils, greens, and an explosion of spices paired with the traditional injera bread.
Exceptional quality. You can tell this food is not only made from scratch but is made of healthy ingredients formulated in a healthy way. The taste is superb. I've learned to slow down when I eat and doing so with this particular meal of Yetsom Beyaynetu delivered the most enjoyable meal I've had in a long time. I like the way the food on the plate is placed atop a single injera so the ingredients saturate and penetrate the injera. Extra injera is served with the meal. I like cutting off a piece and wrapping it around some of the food and eating it like the tastiest, healthiest burrito in existence. The probiotics in the spongy injera combined with the vegetables create a powerful cocktail during digestion. At first glance, you think there is not sauce but it is subtle. Some of the lentils are coated in a type of mustard. The pickled beets are the perfect balance of moist and soft. The two different potatoes mixes are exceptional contrasts in texture and umami. The red lentils are SUPREME. You have string beans and greens that are the very origin of soul food from their ancient inspirations. Altogether, you cannot ask for a more futuristic diet from the earliest innovations in culinary composition. I've glanced their kitchen. It is real cooking like at home but with the clever hand of an exceptional chef. I like many different dishes from different parts of the world but this one, in Memphis stands above them all. Yes, I have visited the restaurant over the years but perhaps 2 - 4 times a year. Not a lot compared to others. Despite that, when I walked in recently after being away for a few months, she said, "hello brother ... you want the same as usual". I could not believe it! That level of engagement after so much time away is far beyond what I am used to seeing. I have made videos about the restaurant years ago but, and I know people say this, I feel like the food gets better each year. If it was great years ago, it is at a supreme level today. I like the placement of Himalayan Pink salt on the tables. You don't really need it but if you want it, you have one of the best salts. The water is served in a tall glass flask with a silicon lid. Basically, they keep water in a highly chilled state and it is served nearly ice cold. I do not know of any place that does that. At the opposite end of the spectrum is their tea. I asked them if they sell it in tea bags. Well, you will just have to enjoy it in the restaurant. Best tea in Memphis. Healthy and uplifting. I will not compare them to specific restaurants by name in terms of the tea. Some come close. Very close. The hot tea at this restaurant is the absolute best. I do cook various cuisines which gives me insight into dishes around the world. All I can say is despite my experience, I cannot match this level of culinary excellence and I can say that the softness of each part from different lentils to potatoes, tomatoes, greens and other beans is pitch perfection. More than this however, is their kindness and consistently gentle and thoughtful approach to all customers. Not just me. They are just genuinely nice people who make food from their heart and treat everyone with extreme hospitality. That is the real reason I am writing this review. The food quality could not be ignored but the customer service match it. I do want to make a final note about quality. In my view, it is not just how something tastes. The more I have learned about cooking healthy and as I go into 18th year without meat and my 4th year without processed oils, processed sugar, and processed bread ... basically eliminating GMOs and fake ingredients from my diet, I have become more sensitive to the difference between food made with processed shortcuts versus those that are like my own home cooking that has zero processed ingredients. When I taste their food, it is the latter. You can tell this is real food and not a meal where the chemistry was figured out to get the most positive sentiment for a return visit. I cherish the for making authentic, genuine, real food that is seasoned for life.

We stopped for lunch on a Wednesday and had a family style platter for four. The food was delicious. It beat all the other Ethiopian food we had before. The spice was the right level. Our 6 and 13 y.o. loved the food, also. The price was good, the server was friendly and had good recommendations for us.Will return to this restaurant when in the area.

Yesterday was our first visit to Abyssinia and our very first experience with Ethiopian food. It was absolutely amazing! Upon walking in the door, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly woman with an amazing smile. We both ordered the #14 Vegetarian Platter and the Spiced Tea chilled. We were so impressed by the number of items and variety of flavors the Vegetarian Platter included. It was lots of food and a fantastic price. We even had leftovers! Everything was perfectly cooked, delightfully spiced, and presented in such a beautiful way. The Injera was delicate, spongy, and delicious. The chilled Tea was refreshing and paired wonderfully with our meal. After eating, a very nice gentleman offered us the hot version of the Spiced Tea to try. It was just as amazing hot. I believe it just may be the very best Tea in Memphis! He kindly poured us 2 cups of the hot Tea to go, so we got to enjoy it all the way home. The car was filled with the most amazing Spiced Teas scent. The restaurant was on the smaller side, which added a lovely cozy feeling that is perfect for small groups. Everyone we spoke with was so welcoming had such a great energy. We're already planning lunch with friends to introduce them to this wonderful place of peace, happiness, and amazing food.

We had the Yetsome Beyaynetu and the Salmon Gulash and loved both! There wasn't much spice in the dishes themselves but the food was great and we loved the atmosphere. The spiced tea was amazing. It was very gingery and super tasty. The serving sizes were huge; we had plenty to take home.

I was so pleased with the flavors of my food. Spices were present but not overpowering. My beef so tender. Some of the best tea I've ever had. Great meal

This is my second time eating here while visiting Memphis. There were a variety of vegan options with the Number 14. The food was tasteful and delicious. The customer service was top notch. Needed extra injera, that was not a problem. Will eat here again. Recommended for vegans as well. Visited June 30, 2025. There is pull up parking in front of the building. Parking in front of the restaurant will cause to back up into the busy street. It was not until I was leaving that I noticed the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.

I used to love Abyssinia Ethiopian food so it’s a shame to give it a 2/5 stars. I’m giving it 2 stars for the food being good and previous experiences despite the lack of service and being given the wrong food and side without any information. I ordered Yefesek Beyaynetu Combo Meal which is chicken and beef stew with lentils as my 1 side and their homemade cottage cheese. What I got was chicken and beef tibs with potato&carrot side and lentils, NO stew meat NO Cottage cheese. I know the difference between tibs and stew, I’ve eaten here plenty of times before. When it came out I questioned if this was even my order, until she informed me that they had to replace the stew with tibs and they don’t serve cottage cheese so they replaced it with potatos&carrots. Had they informed me of the change of stew and cottage cheese and offered replacements, it would’ve been fine. It just felt as if I were bamboozled because I was never informed of the changes made. Just don’t always expect what you asked for. Another thing is the sample size, look at the amount of meat on the combo meal on the online menu vs what I got. I get inflation but the prices have already increased from what it used to be, are we decreasing portion sizes too? Last thing is the customer service. The lady despite not informing me of the changes made to my order also never came to give us more water and never checked on us. We had to go up and grab it ourselves. Regardless the food is good, abit downhill from what it was before, but I will always tip 20% to support local restaurants. I hope this was just a bad day for them and everything will be fixed.

The owner of the restaurant was very welcoming, and the food turned out to be surprisingly good. The flavors were pleasantly sour with a touch of spiciness, which tasted great. The only drawback was that the smoke alarm went off twice during our lunch—it was extremely loud and lasted for quite a while.

Java Cabana, located in the trendy Cooper-Young district since 1992, is a retro coffeehouse with a funky vibe. The backroom pays homage to Elvis, adorned with vintage posters and a disco ball. This spot is popular for its open-mic nights on Thursdays and live acoustic acts. The flavored coffee drinks have Memphis-centric names like Mystery Train and Lisa Marie. The place features constantly rotated local artwork on its walls and attracts a diverse crowd of Memphis personalities.
Love this coffee shop. Been coming here for a few weeks now All the employees are wonderful. They keep the door open when it's nice weather outside so I love that. Avocado toast is amazing in the iced coffee is perfect. Highly recommend everyone should come here! I work at a local shop around the corner so this is very convenient for me.
Bigfoot — Google review
The old Memphis favorite is finally back! Java has been resurrected, and, while it looks very similar to the old Java, there are changes. The place is furnished similarly to before, but somehow there is much room. While it's not a sharp, sterile environment, it's much less cluttered than the old Java. The staff are friendly and quick. The old Open Mic on Thursday nights is back as well! From 7-10 you can hear from artists many and varied, and the standard of the performances is generally better than many open mics I've attended at other venues. I will say when it comes to vegan options, there's essentially nothing, so I can't imagine eating anything here, and that also rules out several of the drinks too. It's not going to keep me away from Java, but if they had vegan options I might be a more frequent customer. All in all it's great to have Java back, and I expect to become a regular.

Best cafe in Cooper-Young area! My favorite ever. Never met better baristas and the crowd this place attracts always passes the vibe check. Love coming here. Hoping to be a regular soon!

I finally tried Java Cabana again after they’re reopening, and I definitely feel it has improved! The vibe is still good, there are better food options, lots of fun events on the calendar, and (most importantly!) the coffee is good! I love when my latte has a good color and plenty of unmelted ice! The campfire latte was super delish. I will be frequenting!

I like to try local coffee shops every time I come to Memphis to visit. We found this little shop and I fell in love. I got the latte with a bourbon flavor I believe. It was really really good. I love the atmosphere of the shop and the decor. The person who helped us was super friendly. I will definitely be coming back anytime I'm in Memphis.

I've been in and out of the doors of this place over the years pretty much since they first opened. The staff is wonderful and obviously enjoys being there, and yesterday I had a strawberry lemonade that was absolutely to kill for! (I mean it might have been the 97 plus degree heat, but that lemonade was still on point!)

Visited the coffee shop in the Cooper Young area and it was great. The coffee and pastries were excellent and the service was nice. The cafe interior is an eclectic mix of old and new and there was plenty of space. I got a lavender mocha and a scone and both were great. I look forward to visiting again when I am back in the area.

Korean restaurant
The Crazy Noodle offers a modern twist on Korean-style ramen bowls, elevating the familiar packaged ramen with their Vegetable Ramen Bowl featuring curly fried noodles in a rich veggie broth with tofu, cabbage, zucchini, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, and Korean radish. The Mandu Guk is another standout option with chewy Korean rice cakes and veggie-stuffed gyoza in a rich and spicy soup.
Just really good ramen for a really good price. Compared to other ramen shops that charge so much.
Garrett A — Google review
I ordered the fried mandus, handmade vegetable dumplings and the vegetable ramen with no tofu and no bean sprouts. The menu specifically reads vegetable dumplings. I bit into the dumplings and a white substance was all through out the dumpling. I assumed it was cauliflower because the menu reads vegetable dumplings. The texture was weird, so I asked the server what exactly was in the dumplings to be sure. He says tofu. I responded ok, I don't eat tofu. The menu does not say that there is tofu in these dumplings. The menu says vegetable dumplings, tofu isn't a vegetable. The server very kindly asked me if I wanted to send them back. I said yes. He went to go speak to another lady, I could hear her in a raised voice going back and forth with the server, ultimately telling him that I could not send the dumplings back. The server came back and very apologetically explained that I couldn't send the dumplings back. I assured him that there was no need to apologize. It wasn't his fault. I said the lady is very loud, I heard her telling you that I couldn't send them back. I stated, but I do want you to understand that the menu says vegetable dumplings. It doesn't say tofu and vegetable dumplings. I have the seven dollars, I can pay for the dumplings, but this is incorrect information and false advertising. I said, this isn't my opinion, this isn't what I think, or believe, it is a factual statement that the menu says vegetable dumplings and these are in fact tofu dumplings. I stated that I would be leaving a review and not returning to the restaurant. I paid, tipped the server well and left. I do not recommend dining here because the menu is not an accurate depiction of what is actually in the dishes and they do not take accountability for the false information on their menus.
Marsena S — Google review
Tried a new one! This is my first time here so I went with the recommended CURRY RAMEN with the egg boiled instead of mixed in. I also got to try the FRIEND MANDUS with the HOUSE SOY SAUCE. The soy sauce was such a winner that I asked for more just to put in my ramen and I took some home! The ramen was packed out and pretty good but I did have to season it up a little to my liking (hence the soy sauce). The staff was attentive and the ambiance gave a “neighborhood” feel that real Memphians could appreciate. I’ll be back!

Went here to try Korean cuisine. All of our dishes were served hot, looked appealing, and great portions for the price. My girls had a ball and got to experience something new.

Saw this was a Ramen place and decided to check it out on a Sunday evening. Very small parking lot and restaurant to match, we ordered to at about 7:30 and walked out at 8:20. Tried the seafood Ramen (lots of broth, 2 mussels, 4 shrimp, and small serving of ramen) and the Bi Bim Ramen with shrimp (food not really have a flavor). The server/cashier/greeter was one man and he was doing his best to stay on top of everything but he was drowning doing everything himself. We love to support small businesses but between the wait and lack of flavor we more than likely will not return. I know that they cannot control the homeless people outside but upon returning to my car which was parked right in the doorway there was a man begging the customers for money as they entered and exited. Did not feel the environment was safe for me and my son.

This is a casual, busy joint for Korean food at Overton square. Overton square already has a tons of hip, and cool diners, and bars. This is another cool and casual spot. We started with some fried mandu/ Korean dumpling. The fried dumplings were absolutely gem. We had the beef one. The dipping sauce was very tasty ( I guess that was soy sauce, mixed with some seasoning/ spices). In the main entree, we had a ramen stir fry with Korean bulgogi, topped with a fried egg, and another chicken ramen soup. Both the dishes were of a good portion size and the food was hot and fresh. They served a sauce/ hit spice mix ( forgot the name) with my chicken ramen soup- that was terrific. I loved the place overall, and I’m already planning to go back. If you plan to stop by, don’t go with a rush. Their service is a bit slow, and the ambience is totally laid back.
Debisree R — Google review
This place has solid tasting food! Some of their ingredients is questionable but also we’re in Memphis so I can’t be too picky on authenticity. The ramen dishes are with instant noodle ramen so if that’s not what you’re looking for, don’t get it. I got the tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) mild with sauce on the side. Mild has literally NO SPICE so feel free to level up if you’re thinking the traditional kind. Also the rice cakes are not the typical ones for this dish but rather the ones usually in a soup. Tasty overall though. Service was great but food took a while but unsure why. Food took >25 minutes to arrive which I didn’t expect for just 2 dishes. Server was kind and kept saying food would come out soon but it definitely took a bit so don’t expect super fast food if you’re in a rush!

Food is absolutely great, but the service was terrible, all plastic containers (glasses and togo containers) were cracked and leaking. It took the server 35 minutes to get out check after we were done.

Moe's Southwest Grill is a popular chain of counter-serve restaurants known for serving up Southwestern favorites like burritos and nachos in a lively atmosphere. They offer a unique twist with marinated tofu as an alternative to traditional meat options. The annual Cinco De Moes 5K event held at one of their locations is a fun-filled affair, featuring a scenic course and plenty of delicious tacos and margarita-flavored sports drinks along the route.
This was my 1st time booking a catering order for a taco bar. Everyone and everything was fantastic and affordable! Placing an order was easy, and Ms Jennifer was very helpful. Van the delivery driver provided stellar customer service. Definitely will book again.

I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant. Unfortunately, my order was not prepared as requested—it was missing several toppings. Additionally, I noticed a significant fly issue inside the restaurant, which made the dining environment very uncomfortable. Had my order not already been prepaid, I likely would have reconsidered eating due to the number of flies present. Cleanliness is important to me when dining out, and this experience fell short of expectations. I hope you’re able to address these concerns moving forward.

This is the worst location I've been to. Nothing was stocked. No napkins, no forks, no lids for salsa. Half the tables were dirty, floor sticky. When I asked for a fork she told me to reach around the counter and grab one from the food area. Instead of stocking the area one employee was watching videos on her phone. And the other employee who was actually working didn't change gloves after messing with non food items. I'll take the time to go to the Cordova location from now on.

I went to Moe’s around 3:30 on 5/4/2025. There was one girl working the line. She was moving as quickly as she could, but the line quickly built up behind me. There were about 12 people in the line with the one girl trying to serve all of us. She was doing a great job! However, there were two other employees that I saw. A young man who walked outside for a second and then walked back to the back. I did not see him again. Another woman who was restocking the line. Not only did she not jump into help the girl who was trying to serve all of us, but she had an attitude with the girl. She only continued to prep the counter with new items despite the many customers who needed assistance. It felt like a hostile work environment from the outside looking in. To make it worse, the food was mid at best. Please check in on whoever that girl was who was working this afternoon!

I love Moe's and I think this is the best location I've visited. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful, I hadn't been in a Moe's in a while, and she helped me with the menu changes. The gound beef and steak were very tasty, and the portion sizes were huge! The chips were nice and crispy, which tasted great with the cheese dip. I will definitely be back!

A great place to get a quality and affordable meal. Perfect for dates, meeting friends, or just grabbing a bite. It had a unique atmosphere that I had never experienced before but definitely enjoy a lot. They have a pretty massive selection of drinks including well known and localc raft beer companies, Asian imported drinks, thc drinks (some local ones too), and a typical selection of can drinks. The food is always great and they have some interesting Korean and international/ international fusion options.

Nestled in a low-key strip mall, A-Tan is a delightful culinary gem that masterfully combines the flavors of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. This bustling eatery is conveniently located near popular attractions like the Malco Paradiso Cinema and Memphis Zoo, making it a favored spot for locals and visitors alike. I've been here twice and the only thing I had worth buying was the Jasmine tea. I got the lo mein and there was no sauce on it. It was just sitting in broth or something. I poured so much off my plate and it was about 3/4 cup worth and the noodles had no flavor. The mushrooms were full of water. The chicken was ok but it was definitely batch boiled. Zero flavor, a friend had to give me some of the excess sauce off their chicken to make my food edible. I didn't bother returning it because the servers already seemed to be in a bad mood.

Salad shop
Sandwich shop
Cheffie's Cafe is a spacious counter-serve eatery with locations in Memphis, Collierville, and Shelby Farms. It offers a variety of signature soups, sandwiches, and salads but is best known for its 'Be the Chef' concept. Customers can create their own custom salads and sandwiches from scratch or choose from a diverse menu of options.
This is my first review of Cheffie’s, but I’m a longtime fan of all their locations. You can get the absolute freshest soups, salads, and sandwiches here and this location has draft beers as well. On this visit, I was greeted pleasantly by the staff who was knowledgeable and thoughtful when they answered my questions. I really enjoyed the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich that was filled and full of flavor of chicken & veggies. I chose a kale soup as one of sides and it was fresh and flavorful too. As a bonus, I took home some potato salad, which was zesty and chomped full of taters. Overall, I was very pleased.

My mom said this was the best salad she’s had in a long while. She enjoyed that there was good fresh vegetables with a salad dressing that wasn’t too over powering. We talked to the staff and they were very helpful and friendly. Good restaurant 👍🏼

I rarely leave reviews, but I it's necessary to warn others about our recent experience at Chefy's. My friend and I dined here and ordered the Greek Salad and the Santa Fe Salad. We both became violently ill with food poisoning symptoms so severe that I very seriously contemplated going to the ER at one point. The experience was absolutely miserable and raised major concerns about the restaurant's sanitary conditions. We both reached out to the restaurant, first to warn them of the situation in hopes they could prevent this from happening to anyone else. They show very little regard for the situation, didn't ask any questions, and even hang up on my friend. It is clear they don't care about food safety or customer health seriously. They obviously don't care and sounds like the owner Matt, doesn't either by the way how he responded to another person's review. Talk about customer service! This was our first time going here, didn't read any of the reviews until now. I hope others read this review before thinking about going here... They first need to assess their sanitary conditions, probably close their restaurant for a few days, do a full clean up and put into place strict rules to follow. For now, I cannot recommend eating here, and I urge others to be cautious.

This used to be one of THE BEST places for a great fresh salad however it's dull now. The ingredients had no flavor, the salad dressing tasted watered down, and the staff were just as flavorless. I dunno what happened there!

I’ve never left a negative review in my life, but in the interest of public health I wanted to report that my friend and I both got food poisoning at the Cheffie’s High Point Terrace location. We ate there on Thursday, 8/28 and both ordered salads. The next day we both became violently ill with severe vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and dizziness. I’ve now been bed-ridden for more than 2 days. I tried reaching out to Cheffie’s via instagram to let them know, but they never opened the message. Then I called to tell a manager, and he spoke to me for less than a minute before hanging up on me. I just looked at their reviews online, and two months ago a customer gave a review criticizing the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the owner Matt Wilson replied “get a life.” I’ve submitted a report to the Shelby County Health Department, and will not be returning.

Cheffie’s salads are simply outstanding. Always fresh and rather large serving sizes. Highly recommend the “Build Your Own”salad as they give you a ton of options for your choice of protein, cheese, and other various toppings. Also highly recommend getting your salad “chopped”. The restaurant itself is always nice and clean, and the staff are great, super friendly and courteous. Great outdoor patio/deck too.

I like that you get to build your own salad/sandwich. You also get a lot salad so no complaints. Just wished they displayed all the prices on the menu so you would know what you paying.
Charisma — Google review
Cheffies Cafe is downright disgusting. The place was filthy — sticky floors, dirty tables, and an overall smell that made me question how often anything gets cleaned. It was gross from the minute I walked in. But the worst part? My cashier. He was the one ringing me up, and he just stared at me the entire time — not in a friendly way, but in a weird, uncomfortable, invasive way. It was creepy and unsettling, like he didn’t know basic boundaries. It made me feel really on edge. The food was trash too — cold, flavorless, and clearly thrown together with zero care. Honestly, I couldn’t even enjoy it after that experience. Between the unsanitary conditions and the uncomfortable interaction with my cashier, this place is a complete no. Do yourself a favor and skip Cheffies — nothing about it is worth the discomfort.

Tamboli's Pasta & Pizza, located in Midtown on Madison Avenue, is a cozy spot known for its authentic Italian cuisine. The menu offers a variety of seasonal vegetarian options, including homemade pastas and pizzas made with locally sourced ingredients from nearby farmers and produce businesses. The restaurant has expanded over the years to accommodate the demand for their delicious offerings.
Cute little restaurant with friendly service. We went early so there was no wait or crowds. Came here because I was craving a good vodka pasta, but it was completely overshadowed by the lemon pepper pasta. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really satiate the craving and just left me wishing I ordered the lemon pepper instead. The arancini was pretty good.
Lisa A — Google review
After a basketball game, my friend and I decided to visit Tamboli’s. When we arrived, we noticed there was not much good parking, so it took a little while to find a spot. When we walked into Tamboli’s, our hostess greeted us and immediately seated us at our table. The dining area was so beautiful. There were a lot of different interesting paintings around the business. Our waitress quickly took our orders and was patient with us. I was impressed that she remembered our orders without a notepad and pen. It was nice looking at the paintings while waiting for our food. I ordered a custom pizza with Pepperoni and Salami. My friend also ordered a custom pizza but with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and Banana Peppers. We both agreed that Tamboli’s has the best pizza in Memphis. The Pepperoni and Salami Pizza is simple, but so good. Their Pepperoni and Salami just work so well with each other. I can’t forget about the crust. The crust helps with adding to the flavors of both the Pepperoni and Salami. In conclusion, everyone needs to try Tamboli’s.

I no longer live in Memphis, but every time I return, I go out of my way to eat at Tamboli's. The fresh pasta is incredible; the lemon pepper is my absolute favorite, with the spicy vodka following closely behind. They also have had some notable specials, like a Cajun pasta, that have been excellent too. The pizza is as you would expect from wood-fired, but they use high-quality ingredients from start to finish. I've never had an item here that was just okay; everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating, making the whole experience positive every time.

Atmosphere was cozy & I liked the plant vines! Food was pretty good for the most part. The chicken cesar salad & cheese sticks with marinara were a hit! The pizza margarita not as good as I expected it to be. The kid straw noodles were delish!

first off the food is great. saw all the photos of the pizza and it didn’t disappoint. wife also loved her fresh pasta vodka vegeterian. hope to come back. my only one constructive feedback is the service felt a little dazed or spacey. our server forgot our salad 🥗 (despite recommending to us how good it is when we ordered it) so we cancelled it at the end of the meal, and little things like just not offering to open the door when carrying a car seat (as plenty of staff are around) felt a little off. when we asked for plates with the appetizer the other server just kinda handed two plates to me in hand, which again, not a big deal, just didn’t feel right. either way was enjoyable to spend our little ones first bday meal and they were cool about a little shouting baby, so i appreciate that. would def try to ask for a bigger table if you have a kid and need a little space.

I cannot emphasize enough how delicious the food was at this restaurant!!! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the staff is kind and helpful. I have severe food allergies they were able to accommodate no problem! I had the most delicious meal of my entire life here. I had their salmon special, and days later I'm still thinking about it. I'm a Memphis native and can say heartily, this is one of the BEST restaurants in the city!

Food was amazing with the exception of the garlic bread. Their were 5 of us and we each loved our orders. From the pizza all the way through pasta. The prices are more than reasonable, the location is also good they actually have parking spaces, and lastly the service was exceptional. We will definitely go back and would recommend highly.

I’ve tried espresso martinis everywhere, and this one is by far the best I’ve had. Their cheesy garlic sticks are incredible, and the side meatballs with marinara sauce are a must-try. The pasta dishes are cooked to perfection—perfectly al dente, and you can taste the quality in every homemade dish. Highly recommend!

Trap Fusion in Whitehaven, Memphis is a vibrant restaurant that infuses Caribbean flavors into its signature dishes. Founded by Markeith W. McCoy and Chef JGardner, the restaurant offers a fusion of Southern and global cuisines. The menu features dishes like Caribbean Oxtails and Lamb Chops, as well as unique creations such as jerk chicken alfredo pasta and the Skinny Pimp dish with beef hot dog, baked beans, and slaw.
Food was Delicious. I had catfish with a side of spaghetti. Fish fried just right (not undercooked and soft). My daughter had the oxtails. I tasted them, and they were seasoned to perfection and Moist. The atmosphere displayed unique African American artworks. They were so unique that I took pictures. Customer service was great. I will return

Okay. Always brutally honest in the comments. Get off your phone as soon as a customer darkens the door and stay off of it until all the customers leave. There was some straightening, wiping, dusting and floor polishing you could be doing. Secondly, too much food on the menu. No one cooks that many dishes well. The salmon was okay. A little more done than I like it. Red velvet cake was just red cake. You cannot take a vanilla box cake and make it red velvet. That's laziness. And cake was dry. There were 4 different kinds of cakes and desserts for expediency. Will those cakes go in the garbage. Yall close at 9. Maybe a homeless shelter. Just eliminate that cost. Best wishes. Also, clean up over there. Throw stuff away.

Prices for food items at Hopdoddy Burger Bar are reasonable. Employees of the restaurant are friendly and helpful.
I finally tried Hopdoddy for Mother’s Day weekend. My mom highly recommends this restaurant to me, so my brothers and I took her to dinner at Hopdoddy. You can tell this is a popular place because there were many people inside and outside the restaurant. It was very busy inside, but we were able to get a seat. We ordered our food at the counter and waited for the main entrees. While we waited for the main entree, we all shared a big bowl of Parmesan Truffle Fries. The fries were a good way to start our meal. We just kept eating them, and had to force ourselves to stop eating them so we don’t get too full before our main entrees come. When I saw my entrée in front of me, I was so excited. My main entree was the Mother Nature Burger. It was so beautiful to look at, and delicious to eat. The Mother Nature Burger had crispy onions, caramelized onions, cheese frico, fried egg, and Au Poivre Aioli. The combination of the crispy onions and caramelized onions was an excellent choice. Then you add that to the creamy Au Poivre Aioli sauce the softness of the fried egg it was a dream.

We were just here 2 weeks ago and I gave them a excellent review! The atmosphere is loud and echoes, there were loud people at the bar being obnoxious, but that is not the reason for the awful review. The awful review is for my boyfriends under done burger. He had a couple bites out of it and soon realized the rest was definitely under cooked. Luckily he ate his Green Chili queso fries first because he definitely lost his appetite after seeing that burger. This is so under done, enough to make someone sick. He wasn't gonna bother telling them, because I know he felt bad, but he shouldn't have to feel bad for asking for a refund for food he paid for that he literally can't eat safely. I'm sad because we had such high hopes for this place. That experience was enough to turn us away permanently. The shareable fries are not worth the drive. Honestly I don't like feeling like a Karen or leaving bad reviews, but when it is justified and warrantied, I will. I almost wish we got a complete and total refund.

This place is popping. I wouldn't suggest going here if you're in a rush, but the food is worth the wait. Very friendly and hard-working staff. It's a fun place for burgers! The staff are friendly and the food come out quick! It's not table service, you'll get in the cue, order and pay for your food and tell them the table number you're at and they come and bring the food to you. I love the choices of burgers but make sure you can take the heat when you order the hot spicy burgers because the peppers are no joke 😋. It was busy when our large group came but luckily we called ahead to see if they had a table available. They don't take reservations but the staff were great to hold one for us when we called ahead for a table for 8!

I been here twice in the same week. The food was really good and the service there was attentive. I got to see their performer doing belly dancing which was surprising to see. I didn’t expect anything like that but the day that I went was when they had the performance scheduled. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich the first time and I got the chicken shwarma sizzler. I’m not sure exactly what it was called but it was good. Would come eat again.

Very nice place. Authentic Mediterranean ambiance and food. Highly recommend the Sizzler lamb chops. We also tried the Small Mezze that comes with hummus, falafel, pita, baba ghanoush - of all the small Mezze the baba ghanoush flavour was really strong so we did not prefer it. I patronize this business maybe 5-6 times a year. I believe this reason for my review is why. The food is always delicious and I’ve tried several menu items. The amount of food is my issue. For the cost to be as expensive as it is, customers for sure deserve to get full off their meal. I paid $29 for one meal and one entree, for myself and my 17yr old son. And we were both still hungry after finishing the food. Please make bigger portions for the prices charged. People always want at the least of service to get full off their meals.

Super cute little place. The food was excellent. My favorite was the brisket taco. The sweet tea was also just right. Our orders were prepared quickly and served hot and fresh. We had a private event here for my wife's birthday. It was an epic, black tie, masquerade party. They handled all of the decorations, catering, and drinks. Jacob even got us in touch with a violinist who performed at the party. They put our mind at ease and all we needed to do was show up! I loved the place as a restaurant already, but they make an amazing venue as well! Even our pregnant guests were able to enjoy the non alcoholic mocktail options. I would recommend! 10/10!

We love El Mero Taco! They have so many incredible Vegetarian options! The Corn Ribs are insanely good and so creative. I crave them constantly and find I have to visit at least once a week to get a Corn Rib craving fix. The Cauliflower Tacos and Zucchini Tacos are our favorite Veggie Tacos in the city. They've also been kind enough to go off menu and make us an amazing Black Bean and Potato Taco. Their Quesadillas are incredibly delicious, super filling, and can truly be a meal on it's own. The Smoked Poblano Cheesey Grits are another must have item and I love they offer them all day now. On Saturdays, they have a fantastic Brunch. Their Cocktails always impress us, but I recently switched to Mocktails and discovered their Mockarita... Sooo good! It was nice to have a fancy drink and be a part of the party without the alcohol. I really love their ability to accommodate different dietary restrictions and lifestyles. They make everything in house from their own recipes, so they know what is in their food. As a person with food allergies, it is such a relief to eat with confidence because they always know the ingredients and steer me down the best path when ordering. My only request for them is to bring back the Fried Whole Pod Okra from a few years ago. I still crave it and no one else has anything like it.

It's your typical hole-in-the-wall spot that's great to get into the local scene. I just wish it had a better aesthetic fitting of the really good times and staff they have! At times, it seems almost grungy and unkempt.
Neecole G — Google review
My review is a bit long overdue as a longtime patron of this bar (the old carpet era & present). It’s one of the few nostalgic dives left in Midtown & the owners have put in a lot of positive changes to create a safe place for everyone & add variety to the bar. Next to Black Lodge—the Lamplighter is one of the few places you can attend a variety of events successfully. In many ways it can feel more like a cafe than a bar depending on the day & time—if you have an appreciation for dives & preserving nostalgia this is your place. It’s a local “Cheers” where it’s quite obvious many patrons know each other’s names. For me personally the Lamplighter has served as a place to wrap up work/creative projects, a place to relax after work, a meeting place for karaoke, drag/burlesque, comedy, live music, & community. Newly, the bar is providing a space for local artists to sell their work on “Market Day” something I hope to check out soon! I’ve been saved by a lot of burgers, veggie dogs, BLT’s, & baskets of fries more times than I can count! For non drinkers they have an impressive selection of coffee, tea, kombucha, & ginger beer! The staff members are usually working around the clock & care about this place a lot—like any dive there is an element of self serving in terms of seating & obtaining a menu from the bar. The building is older but constantly getting TLC from the staff & as with any bar on a weekend night staff are more than happy to address any issues (i.e. tending to replenishing paper products etc when notified). I appreciate feeling safe going here alone & having a safe place to express my art creatively. Most of the events held here feature a diverse variety & are fairly charged a cover to support local & touring acts. The Lamplighter may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s definitely my neighborhood bar; stop by sometime & sign up for their VIP membership I can vouch for the cool perks offered monthly for just $10 for those interested! Thank you to the staff of Lamplighter for keeping this diamond in the rough alive & a place for everyone! Without you there would be a lot of lost love in the community. 💖Nico

I have been to the Lamp quite a few times now and I love it! I'm from Jonesboro so anytime I go to Memphis I always make sure to make a stop at the Lamplighter. Not only are their fries phenomenal, but it's also very reliably vegetarian friendly. Also their vegan cookies with hot cocoa is the best dessert you can get! The place is also such a vibe. I love the decorations and also there is always live music!!

Currently the best dive in Memphis. They actually have VEGAN food and it's delicious! It's a little too greasy, but I won't be going here to get a healthy salad or steamed veggies--it's perfect for late night nosh. The pool table needs some work or they need to get rid of it to allow for more seating in the performance room. EDIT: I still love the Lamp, but they STILL need to move that pool table out of the performance space!

They have many vegan options for food and plenty of beer. If you want liquor you'll have to bring your own for a small set up fee. Lots of entertainment pretty much daily. Drag on Mondays, songwriters Tuesdays, comedy Wednesdays, karaoke Thursdays, and bands local and touring play all the other nights. Everything is affordable and many shows are free or donation based. I think the most you'll pay for a show there is $15 if it's a big touring band or burlesque show maybe. Oh and there's a cute patio out back! Very lgbtq+BIPOC friendly environment! It's my favorite hangout spot.

I’m going to edit this review since it came off a bit harsh. The cauliwings, somosas and fries tasted a bit rancid like it was maybe cooked with old grease. They actually all tasted the same with a strange odor. We actually like coconut oil so I don’t that was the issue here. The veggie burger tasted fine compared to everything else we’ve ordered.

Years in Memphis and never knew this placed served food along with a vegan menu perfect for late night eats after a hard workout! Did a pickup order and got the Honey Sriracha Cauliflower Wings with vegan ranch it was so good! Food was hot and fresh and although it was a pickup, I ended up eating it outside while having a cigar and it definitely made for a perfect experience. The lounge itself has an old school college rec room vibe where you can easily spend hours enjoying some good tunes or reading! They made a good impression and it looks even better in person. Will be my new to-go-to spot for relaxation, to grab a bite with my homegirls or a date night !

Great times at knifebird! I'm glad it's in the neighborhood, it was perfect for an end of day decompress. I love a chill vibe wine bar. It didn't feel pretentious and the wine options were great. Even on a budget, the house wine is great too. My only negative is that when we ordered the small cheese platter, the chocolate was Banana Flavored! I think that's something you need to put on your menu or tell the customer before you bring it out. Not everybody appreciates banana flavored chocolate but it gave us a laugh and added to the experience. Thanks!

knifebird TRULY never disappoints. They have all of the perfect elements: wine, cocktails, nice decor, subtle music great service and our favs…charcuterie boards! Over the years, I’ve been here alone, with friends and on dates. It’s literally the perfect space for things I love to do solo or with a buddy. Come for the happy hour, stay for the happy hours.

Absolutely amazing place!!! I visited with my friend who had heard of it through other patrons. We had the best time ever. Everything we ate and drank was fabulous. ...and we ordered quite a bit! The charcuterie boards were loaded with great palate-pleasing selections, especially the chocolate one! The staff was very engaging and attentive, especially our waitress Jessica. We plan to make this our go-to place to relax and unwind. I highly recommend visiting!!

Amazing experience! The staff are dedicated to making sure you have a fabulous time. Our waitress was so sweet and funny, and the atmosphere was just perfect. I mentioned in my reservation that it was my anniversary with my fiancé and they brought us a complimentary glass of this DELICIOUS sparkling cider, with a very sweet message on the base of the glasses. The food was phenomenal, and the setting is just perfect for an intimate adventure out. I highly, highly recommend!!

Great service, wine selection and bruschetta options! Charcuterie boards are a bit lacking compared to other options across the city. Will definitely be back for the easy atmosphere and wine. Parking is also a bit of a headache depending on what time you visit.

Always a great experience! I love the sweet wine flight. We typically order and share several bruschettas, a salad, and a board. Service is always superb and well staged.
Jackie M — Google review
Cute little spot in Midtown to enjoy a glass or two of wine and light bites. The customer service was great and I really enjoyed myself. I ordered the “Wine Flight” Sweet Dreams and my favorite out of the three was the Brachetto. I also ordered the Riesling and it was the perfect finishing touch. For food, I ordered the Flight of Bruschetta (tomato, prosciutto, and brie and fruit). The tomato and prosciutto was really good but I didn’t care for the brie and fruit. I also sampled the board my friend ordered and everything on there was good. Overall, I would come back to try out more of the wines and other food options.

Fine dining restaurant
Dory is a fine dining restaurant located in East Memphis, known for its innovative dishes made with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant features a state-of-the-art open-concept kitchen and is run by the couple David and Amanda Krog, who are committed to using what is in season from local farms and maintaining a 'zero waste' kitchen. Chef Dave Krog, with a rich culinary background, offers an ever-changing menu that has gained acclaim for its creative and artfully plated dishes.
This is literally the best restaurant I've ever been to anywhere. The flavor pairings are beyond incredible! I've been to Michelin Star restaurants that don't even come close to being as good as Dory. The experience here is beyond incredible. Randall is an exceptional server and the chef comes out to meet and greet and he is just wonderful to interact with and hear about his creativity. We have been here several times and it's always been fabulous! This is my favorite restaurant anywhere! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

Service was very good, but waited quite a while for dishes to show up. The starters we ordered were oyster mushrooms and the squash. Both were excellent so that definitely gave me pretty high hopes for my main dish. I ordered the scallop and mussels citrus buerre blanc risotto, and while the scallops and mussels were cooked to perfection, the risotto was lacking in flavor. Pretty much tasted like plain wet rice…. the dish would’ve been better if the risotto was left out. For dessert we shared a cafe mocha. The cake and mousse was wonderful but the caramel popcorn on top tasted kind of stale.

Are you looking for a wonderful dining experience? Look no further. This place is excellent. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the wonderful team that takes care of you during your dining experience, Dory is a must-visit. The choices are brilliantly limited, giving us options on how many courses we would like to venture on depending on the day of the week. And oh what a wonderful adventure it is. We experienced a new menu that included the most decadent venison, scallops, fluke, beets, corn bread, and pasta. We also had a view of the kitchen and witness the craft that goes in to prepare these wonderful dishes. To top it all off, we were taken care of by a wonderful team who explained very well what went into each dish, as made excellent recommendations of drinks to pair them with. I do not have the skill to describe in words how wonderful the food is, or how their team makes sure you are enjoying the experience. My only advise is to not let the price stop you from trying. If you can afford it, this is truly a first-class culinary experience that enjoy without leaving Memphis. Trust them as your guides in this wonderful and surprising adventures.

I absolutely love this place. I went for my birthday dinner. I had the six course plus wine pairing. It was exceptional. Hands down the best meal/service I have ever had. EVER! I loved to intimate setting. The staff was incredible. The servers were knowledgeable and gave a detailed description of every course. I have never had a better dining experience. I would recommend Dory to any and every one.

The best meal I have had in Memphis. This dinner was a complete experience from start to finish. Each time I have eaten here I have had delicious fresh food and memorable night. I am a good cook so I don’t usually like things that I can cook at home. However, these dishes are like nothing I have ever made- or ever had anywhere else. Truly a gem in this city.

I really wanted to like this restaurant more than I did. Some of the best meals I've ever had were tasting menus at fine restaurants around the world. Unfortunately, my experience at "Dory" did not meet my expectations. The chef owner was very personable and welcoming and we appreciated meeting him. The staff was very professional. The building is clean and pretty, but felt more like a cafeteria decor than that of a fine dining restaurant -- there is no privacy between tables, which is important when everyone is getting the same food. There is no mystery or romance. The summer menu was rather disappointing. A few of the courses were very good, but most were unimaginative. The fish was dry and bland. The steak was chewy and unoriginal. My expectation for a tasting menu with small portions is that every bite should be exceptional. This was not. Maybe it's what the local market can accommodate? But I had higher expectations.

I actually went there for my birthday recently. This is a place that serves up 5 to 6 courses with an intermezzo . Be prepared to stay for at least an hour and a half. Be sure to make reservations beforehand. The ambience of the place is pretty basic but nice and quaint. The walls were adorned with an eclectic array of musicians portraits. We showed up around 5:30. It was nice and quiet. Our server was on point and attentive. The courses we're seasonally random, and we could only omit food choices we did not want. They served an array of fresh vegetables. Our protein dishes dishes were duck, Cod, and Lamb. Most of the dishes had great presentations. However the depth of seasoning was somewhat bland. Seasoning was to be desired. Salt, pepper. herbs, spices, would have next leveled everything. It come off as a high end culinary restaurant. It is not fine dinning. I would consider it upscale casual. All in all, it was a decent experience and I would recommend you giveit a try. They have a decent wine selection. The open kitchen floor plan was a bonus. Oh yeah, It got a bit festive around 7 PM.

5-star service and an excellent food experience. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. We got to meet Chef Dave and our sommelier was excellent. The dishes were clean and fresh. My husband doesn't care for fish, shellfish or eggs and his substitutions were perfect. He's mentioned how good my birthday cake was like 6 times. Highly recommend.
