Ladybird Bakery is hands down my favorite bakery in NYC. I’ve been enjoying their sweet treats since I was a child and their Brooklyn blackout cake is truly out of this world. Perfectly sweet, rich, & moist with the most beautiful decorative details. I was surprised with one this Valentine’s Day and like always, it was absolutely divine. You simply have to try the chocolate cake or any other delicious desserts. You won’t be disappointed.

Ladybird made the cake for our wedding in spring 2025. We highly recommend them! They were great to work with, and the cake was beautiful and delicious. Also, the tasting is a blast — you get to try every combination of their cakes, frostings, and fillings. :)

We just had Ladybird cakes at our wedding and can't recommend them enough! They tasted phenomenal and were VERY reasonably priced when compared to other quotes we got. Ladybird was actually running a sale for the offseason too. It seemed to me that they charge fairly for the ingredients and labor, but don't gouge just because the word “wedding” is involved. We had a great time at the bakery tasting ingredients and building our custom cake. Once we chose our flavors, Melanie did a beautiful job matching the buttercream flowers to our actual flowers. Our secondary cake, a Brooklyn Blackout cake, was one of the best chocolate cakes we've ever had and the chocolate lovers were very happy! The delivery went off without a hitch, and we will be back for some Brooklyn Blackout cake on our anniversary.

Their cakes are stunning! I was blown away when I saw mine. They exceeded my expectations of what a cake could be. I love how they listened to my wishes and brought them to life. Just little regret that I feel like the cake is a little dry and not so fresh, like it was made a day before.

After dropping our son off at college, my husband, other son, and myself went to Brooklyn specifically for this bakery and the Brooklyn Blackout cake. We were NOT disappointed! I also got my mom a small carrot cake. She loved it!! Whenever we're back in NYC, I'll definitely be going here again. The young lady behind the counter was really nice too.

Delicious desserts for all hours of the day. I had the Milk Bar pie and Sundae combo deal. They were both good. The vanilla soft serve ice cream is a cereal milk tasting flavor which my husband did not like. He thought it was good but his flavor of choice. The pie was very rich maybe too rich for me. Eating it together was delicious though. Prices were good. Selection was good. Seating available was good. It’s a nice place to sit and satisfy your sweet tooth for sure.

Had this place recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! We ordered the lemon meringue pie and cereal milk soft serve, and it definitely satisfied our sweet tooth. The girl taking our order was also super sweet. Would definitely visit again if I’m ever in NYC again!

This place has definitely gone way downhill. The employees don’t care, the music is too loud and this is what a “Pie and Soft Serve” looks like. Everyone understands that when someone orders pie and ice cream, the ice cream should be on top of the pie. And also the pie should be warm. Here instead you get this and the pie is refrigerated solid out of a box. Very dissatisfying

Honestly? Average. Just average. I came here expecting a fun, creative dessert stop something sweet to wrap up the night, but everything just kind of fell flat. The snacks looked cute, sure, but the flavors were uninspired. Our drinks were lukewarm, the sugar hit too strong, and it all felt like the staff was more eager to close up than serve something memorable. Quick notes for fellow dessert hunters: Service: Polite and minimal, just enough to take the order and move things along. Food: Ok. It's ok. Atmosphere: Clean enough, but the energy was as tired as the drinks. Nothing terrible, but nothing special either. Out of everywhere I visited in NYC, this was the most forgettable stop, which is saying something in a city full of flavor.

Really beautiful and vintage old 50s diner. Living for it! Staff really kind. Looks clean. Taste not as hyped for, and kinda expensive. But still a good place to hangout for a little bit and get a coffee.

My wife, daughter, and I stopped by and had a wonderful experience. Jasmine was the best! She was so helpful and friendly, we loved her! She hooked us up with stickers and this cool bag! Did I mention the ice cream is so delicious?!? I highly recommend going here.

This is the viral bakery that I have been wanting to try for a long time. I absolutely loved it. They are known for their banana pudding and it was delicious. I went during the fall time and was able to try a few of their fall flavored pasties. I got a pumpkin cheesecake, a regular cheesecake and I believe it was some type of gingersnap pastry as well. Everything was so good. There isn't seating inside but across the street there's an area with benches I sat on to enjoy. 10/10 I would come again!

Magnolia Bakery is one of those spots that feels like a true New York moment. It is cozy, welcoming, and the kind of place that manages to be both iconic and genuinely good. It is simple, perfectly balanced, and exactly what a classic cupcake should taste like. The bakery itself is always clean and the staff are friendly, which makes the experience feel easy and enjoyable, even when it is busy. It is also across the street from a great little bookstore, which makes stopping by feel like you are stepping into one of those quintessential New York City days where everything lines up just right. Magnolia works for just about everyone. It is great for kids, but just as fun for adults who want a sweet treat or a nostalgic moment. Whether you are local or visiting, it is a must-go and a place you will probably find yourself returning to again and again.

Try the famous banana pudding which is surprisingly tasty with banana chunks and cookies and cream. Love it. Also got the red velvet cheesecake and Iced matcha, delicious too. Only for take out so we enjoyed them in nearby park. All the cakes look really attractive in the shop, can’t wait to try more soon.

My first time trying Magnolia Bakery and fell in love. I have the brown sugar cookie and the hot chocolate with oat milk and it was very delicious. This is great stop for quick sweet treat. I've heard great things about the banana pudding, I'll try it next time.

Finally tried Magnolia Bakery’s famous banana pudding—totally worth the hype. Creamy, fluffy, with real banana chunks and soft wafers that melt right in. Sweet but not too heavy, and dangerously easy to finish in one sitting. A NYC must-try dessert—approved and devoured.

This is a classic. I don’t think it needs any more recommendation. I obviously got the banana pudding and I was very surprised at how good it was. I also got the seasonal pumpkin spice pudding, and it was the perfect fall dessert. I cannot recommend the banana pudding enough. I actually thought about ways in which I could bring this back to Europe, so now I’m hoping they would open up a bakery somewhere in Europe.

It was my first time trying the famous banana pudding. I did not expect to like it that much. It is definitely not to be missed whenever you visit here. We also got pecan cheesecake which was good as well. It was rich and heavy.

We tried about 5 different bakeries for our wedding cake and chose Mia’s for their quality/taste above everything plus their ability to do exactly what we hoped for, responsiveness and price. We selected coconut and lemon blueberry flavors for our two-tier cake. We loved it and so did our guests. They welcome you by the door and Asur you to the big verity of cake and dessert to choose from. We went there for the vegan option to celebrate my baby first birthday he has a dairy allergy but unfortunately the vegan option was pre-order. The staff explained to us and answered all our questions so we got the best option ( strawberry shortcake) it was very delicious and moist.

I’m satisfied with the cake overall Mia customer service via Text message is amazing. They will work with you with pricing and what type of cake you want far as 139 Smith St. bakery that Mia owns customer service with one of the guys is very rude refuse to answer questions and over talks. Also, my pick up for my cake was 1 to 2. I didn’t pick it up till 4 and didn’t cut the cake to 7 And it was still cold sort of frozen in the middle, which was hard to cut the cake but overall it taste good look good and I would recommend to buy just deforested or let the cakes sit out a little longer so it can have the soft texture and you can actually taste it

I recently placed an order for a custom cake for my friend and I’s party. I ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry cream and also requested a custom design. The design came out adorable, my friend and I were really happy with how it came out. The raspberry cream added the perfect sweetness to the cake and it tasted freshly made. I was a bit disappointed that the cake itself was a little dry but the cream really saved it. Easy pickup and the staff was super attentive.

I’m so disappointed with Villabate bakery. Literally spent over $100 on pastries just to come home and find out all of the pastries taste and smell very old. It’s like they have been sitting in their fridge for months. They’re absolutely inedible. All cakes are very stale, the back of a strawberry is covered in mold. I called the bakery to let them know about stale pastries and ask for a refund. They refused to give me a refund and offered a credit instead. I will never step my foot into Villabate Alba again and don’t recommend them to my worst enemy. After taking a bite of a carrot cake I almost puked. I just lost over $100 because everything went straight in the garbage. It’s a shame they’re selling old stale cakes to their customers. AVOID THIS PLACE! They’re scammers!

This is, hands down, the best, old world, Sicilian/Italian bakery in all of Brooklyn. You name it, they have it! It's always so busy that you know it will always be fresh and authentic ✨️ I got my usual line-up of seeded semolina, a few chocolate Cannolli cream Cannolli (sorry, but we got hungry on the way home and a half was all that remains), plus chocolate and pistachio homemade Gelato 😋 One more note: You just can't go in and not be overcome with the many display cases full of fresh baked items! Bring money!! You definitely will not regret anything you buy from the famiglia. Ciao!!

The bakery is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. It opened in 1979. They sell cakes, cookies, pastries, breads and gelato. The bakery specializes in Italian baked goods. I purchased an Italian bread, cannoli and a slice of tiramisu cake. The order tasted very good and was well-prepared. Friendly and helpful staff.

Dishonest personnel be careful! On my visit to this pasticceria i bought 2 cannoli, 1 large sfogliatella, 2 Napoleons and another small pastry. In total 6 pastries the young lady picked each pastry in front of us there was 2 of us that saw her collecting our order. She told us to wait at cashier while she was wrapping the box. We payed a total of $ 23. No receipt was given to us! When home we opened the box there was 1 cannolo missing! Myself and my wife saw the worker of the pastry store pick 2 cannoli and we know that for sure as it happened right in front of us and we asked for 2 specific ones!! Another very negative thing about the store is that there are no prices nor names of the pastries which i find extremely weird that one has to ask and no receipt of payment given but we were told by voice. Last but not least as some other reviewers have pointed out personnel is very court and seems unhappy to be there..i thought it was a Sicilian pasticceria instead they are all hispanics…and they comment in Spanish about the customers. I am half Spanish from Spain so i understood them.. I hope the owner will take this situation at heart and look into finding honest personnel. Mi dispiace, ma no non tornero’, sono molto delusa e mi sono sentita presa in giro e raggirata.

My favorite bakery. I come over the bridge to get here. Reasonably priced. Delicious pastries and they have so many options to choose from. I love the gelato, rice ball's, mini focaccia pizzas. Always fresh and the staff is easygoing, patient and friendly. The lobster tails are incredible.

tried From Lucie's stout cake at a pop-up today and without ever stepping foot in this bakery before, I now want to go and live there and try every single cake this extraordinary Pastry Chef makes. The stout cake was unbelievable. At first I was amazed by how gorgeous the cake looked. I was in awe of the flowers, decoration, and just absolute loveliness of it. Then, I tasted it, and wow, my son and I stayed quiet for a moment. That's how special it was... I soon went around asking at this pop-up (that had nothing to do with cake) what bakery this cake was from? Who are they? What magic is this? Yes, this cake was magical...I haven't tried like it before...and if you haven't tried her cakes before either, please do. I am so happy we got to and I so look forward to trying another one of From Lucie's creation soon...very soon. If the person who made the stout cake today is reading this... thank you! We absolutely loved it.

Cakes look beautiful but don’t quite live up to the hype. The frosting-to-cake ratio is often off, and the floral decorations are overdone. Tried olive oil cake with lemon frosting, vanilla cake with earl grey, and chocolate cake with espresso salted fudge, the last one was way too heavy. Portions are small for the price. Overall, looks great but taste and balance need improvement.

Dear Lucie, It was honestly the best, most beautifully decorated birthday carrot cake we’ve ever had!!! So deliciously moist and fluffy, but not too sweet, and the cream cheese frosting is straight up CRACK!!! Thank you for making our cake with love!

i got a mini carrot cake and instantly fell in love!!! 🧸❤️ not only was the frosting perfectly sweetened, but the cake itself was flavorful and moist. it had a lovely balance of sweet and spice! although prices are on the higher end, the quality and decorative touch make it worth the price. delicious baked goods!!! this bakery has not only my favorite chocolate chip cookie in manhattan, but also a plethora of other amazing desserts. some of my other favorites would have to be the lemon thyme bar and carrot cake (gluten-free). i love how everything is presented so beautifully with flowers on top. i’m also a fan of the cute outdoor seating. highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. :)

I felt a little concerned seeing the reviews about the cake being dry but i am glad i took the chance and tried it. unfortunately they didnt have a mini chocolate that day so had to try the carrot cake which was super nice. not too sweet! over all agood decision. As for the size Perfect for 2 people! Would love to try the choc next time

I’ve been wanting to visit for ages and finally made it to try the beautiful treats at from lucie- can confirm, pretty AND amazing. Bakeries are pretty much my #1 passion as a New Yorker, and maaaany disappoint, particularly when it comes to chocolate chip cookies; these were a top contender- simple, perfect texture, thin, buttery, and delicious! I also love they have GF treats that pass with flying colors. Cutest store, would shout it from the rooftops, but I’m sort of sick of all the good spots being taken over… so hoping this spot stays a perfectly appreciated small gem in the city ❤️

Interior/outside terrace: the interior is very functional, very few inside seating options. But it’s not like a comfy café. They do have a small outside seating area, which is nice, nothing special, but if you get a table there, you can enjoy your croissants in the sun. Food quality/price: good selection of savoury & sweet food, very delicious. I got an earl grey bun & a pistachio croissant. Both very delicious, like out of another world. Loved them. I found their food to be quite expensive. Suggestion: why not making tiny versions of the different treats (to a smaller price as well of course), so solo-visitors can try more delicious treats? Service: friendly, functional, nothing outstanding though.

Tried the Spicy Tofu Sandwich and Earl Grey Bun: both tasted really good. The sandwich had a nice flavor, though it was a bit too charred, which affected the taste. It would be great if they warmed up the sandwiches, as the bread gets hard and chewy after a while. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly. The space inside is small with limited outdoor seating, yet the service is friendly and efficient. Overall, a solid spot for baked goods,definitely recommend and will be back!

It's not bad but a bit overhyped. The foccacia and sesame twist are delicious but the rest of the pastries are just average: - Croissant: no flavour whatsoever, the butter is completely missing - Corn cake: rich but a bit too sweet. The inside is a bit gluey. - Morning bun: can taste the early grey but also sweet, texture a bit dry - Cinnamon rolls: also sweet and dry Overall recommended to try if you are in the area but not worth travel the length of NY for...

I’d heard great things about this Brooklyn bakery, so I finally stopped by on a Saturday around 1 p.m. As soon as I arrived, I saw a long line outside — and it continued inside as well. The shop itself is very small, with no indoor seating and just a few sidewalk tables, which fill up quickly. So my first tip: go early if you want the full selection and a shorter wait. The line does move fairly quickly, though, thanks to their fast service — and the crowd alone tells you how popular the place is. Even though it was already late in the day and many items had sold out, I still managed to get a ham sandwich. It was fairly large in size. I ate it in two portions ( however, I was not super hungry, tbh) and made with high-quality ham, a flavorful spread, and a sesame-crusted toasted baguette. The bread was a bit firm, but it seemed intentional. It wasn’t served hot, but it was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. I also grabbed a slice of their brown corn butter cake, which was incredible — unlike anything I’ve had before. It reminded me of cornbread but with the richness and texture of a butter cake. A really delicious fusion. To go with it, I ordered an iced mocha, and it was excellent. I’m usually picky about mochas, but this one had great balance: high-quality espresso and chocolate, thick texture, and just the right sweetness (leaning on the less-sweet side, which I loved). Overall, this bakery is absolutely worth the visit — especially if you enjoy unique baked goods and great coffee. Just be prepared for a line, and try to arrive early for the best selection. I’m already planning to return and try more of their menu.

I don’t know man. Maybe because my wife makes some slammin focaccia, considering the line, I thought maybe the food here would be outstanding but, I found myself gnawing or needing to tear the sandwich from my mouth after biting down hard on the bread. I did see someone bite down and use their fingers to help them tear it away. My jaw muscles shouldn’t get tried from having to chew so hard to be honest 😅 Maybe they’re baking at too high of a heat who knows. The chocolate croissant however was “very good” not sure I would 15 minutes again to get a sandwich or pastries here.

Radio Bakery is my no. 1 bakery in nyc. every time i go, i have to wait in line (~10-30 mins depending on which day and time). 
what keeps me going back is their unique sandwiches and pastry 🥐 they always have rotating seasonal pastry and scrumptious collabs. what i have tried— ✨apple brown butter croissant ($7): crispy croissant with sweet apple 🍎 it is not overly sweet; just enough to fuel my day. ✨smoked salmon focaccia ($15): a perfect breakfast or brunch. it is packed with cream cheese, dill, onion, and smoked salmon. ✨earl grey morning bun ($6): my all time fav. it is fragrant with early grey, cinnamon, in a chewy bun. i’d always go back for this. i was actually going for corn custard tart but it was sold out within minutes 😭 people do not play when it comes to viral and seasonal bakery.

One of the best bakeries in nyc!! I stopped by around noon on a Saturday and had to wait in line for maybe 20 min. The focaccia sandwich I had was incredible and def hit the spot. Now I gotta get up early and head near opening in the morning to catch the other pasties and seasonal treats they sell and sell out of. The peach iced tea was also very good

We continue to use Buttermilk Bakeshop for our Daughter’s Birthday. Not only are they super reliable, they are consistent and they never disappoint. This year they did a Barbie theme and once you tell them what you are looking for, they never disappoint. It is also a cake that actually tastes good and always a hit at every birthday party. It is worth every penny.

Buttermilk Bake Shop made us a gorgeous dairy-free cake for our daughter’s 2nd birthday. We shared a photo of her party invitation and they really brought it to life. The cake was delicious and loved by everyone! We couldn’t be more grateful an highly recommend for all events - big and small.

Buttermilk truly knocked it out of the park for my birthday this year!!! I sent them the invitation I had designed and asked if they could make a cake to fit the theme and it ended up being the most stunning cake I’ve ever seen. It was also incredibly delicious!!!! Truly a 10/10. Their customer service is also super quick, friendly, reliable, and helpful.

This was my first time ordering from Buttermilk Bakeshop and I am so happy I did! I have never been to or ordered from this location before but after reading through all of the positive reviews about the flavor of the cake, the ease of working with them, and how well the final product was executed - I am 100% coming back for all of my cake needs! I ordered a 1 tier Hawaiian/ tropical theme for my mom’s 60th birthday whose favorite color is purple. Their website was so easy to use- you type in some key words to search for reference pics (or you can upload your own), add on any customization, confirm a few other details, pay your deposit or pay in full and you’re done! I admit, I was a bit nervous as to whether or not they would get what I wanted for my mom’s cake but I’m so glad I took the chance to trust them and the reviews people left, because I was so happy with the cake! My mom loved it and everyone said the cake was delicious. There was absolutely no cake left!! Thank you to the team for making this such a seamless process and for making my mom’s birthday cake so beautiful and delicious!

Buttermilk’s team of cake experts created the most beautiful, delicious and perfectly themed cake for my son’s Bar Mitzvah. It was absolutely perfect and Buttermilk couldn’t have been more responsive in answering all my questions. They were so accommodating in making the design extra special!! Everyone loved it!

This place had the friendliest service. The older gentleman behind the counter was so nice, answered all my questions, and even let us wash our hands behind the bar. The pistachio croissant was amazing, the bagel was great, and the cinnamon challah bread was delicious. The muffin was solid, and the banana cake was like a super moist banana bread. We bought some sourdough to go, and he even threw in a couple of baguettes for us! It's a really cute little bakery with plenty of seating in the back. Oh, and the sticky bun was heavenly.

Tried the pistachio croissant twist at Amy’s Bread—flaky, buttery, and perfectly layered with a rich pistachio flavor. Sweet but balanced, with a delightful crunch and soft center. Pairs perfectly with coffee and captures that classic artisanal bakery charm.

Amy's Bread is within the Chelsea Market (see photos), on 9th Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets. Taxis are easily accessible from there to get you to your next destination. I had the banana cake ($7.08 including tax) which, as a whole, was very good. The flavor of the cake had a pleasing banana taste (as it should), while the white frosting, which was tasty, did not enhance the cake because its pleasing flavor was strong and blocked out the flavor of the cake when the two were together on the fork. The few nuts on top of it had no taste. A few weeks later I tried their butterscotch cashew bar, pictured ($5.00). The butterscotch flavor was strong and pleasing, but there was almost no contrast of flavor with the cashews because most of them had no recognizable flavor, as was with the nuts on the banana cake mentioned above. I tried their Hell's Kitchen bakery (9th Avenue at about 47th Street), on February 28th, 2025, it was very disappointing. Their sticky bun WAS, many years ago, considered to be one of the best. NOW, I think that it is one of the poorest versions. The sticky and tasty flavor was only on the top of the bun, the rest was close to flavorless. Their tuna sandwich on that day was the most unrecognizably flavored tuna sandwich I have ever had (rate it 0).

Amy’s Bread was a must try since I’m a huge fan of anything sourdough. Overall, it wasn’t my best costumer serving experience or waiting time for ordering and paying but the product was very tasty and earned a 3 star. The cinnamon raisin bagel was decent and tastes great with cream cheese.

Have been here twice. It always smells fresh and there a variety of options. Have gotten the olive bread, was decent. Also got the challah twist knot, it was fresh and nice. Would like to try the desserts for sure the next time.

Service was friendly. I was expecting to smell the scent of fresh baked bread or pastries when I walked in but sadly I didn't. Maybe this is a telltale sign.... I have heard so much about this bakery that I was excited to visit and try their goodies. Unfortunately, it was just ok. Nothing spectacular. The oat scone looked really good but it was on the dry side. Flavorwise it reminded me of the fall. The olive twist had a nice chew but was on the salty side for my personal tastes. I am glad to have tried but would not go out of my way to come back unfortunately.

Very cozy place! We ordered to go so unfortunately we didn't get the chance to fully experience the place's vibe. We had a cream cheese and a PB&J bagel, plus a coffee. The bagels were tasty with a nice texture, and the filling quantity was well balanced.

Number one choice in NYC if you want dessert everything I tried is so good. The best thing for me is very berry Napoleon it’s like Martha’s signature cake, but all other cakes / menu are so delicious too tables are a bit close from each other but still ok. All the menu items are great, I went there many times also chocolate layer and the tart is amazing. Service is so good and very fast, sometimes they are so busy specially in the weekends so there will be waiting but they’re fast

I had such a wonderful experience at Martha’s Bakery! The waiter who helped me had the brightest smile and made me feel so welcome. She recommended the Oreo cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and one of the best I’ve ever had. She even checked in to make sure I was okay, which made the visit feel so warm and personal. The staff here are all so kind, and the overall atmosphere is just as sweet as their desserts. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Love Martha’s!!.. I’ve been coming here for years. My top favorite is their strawberry cheesecake and during the fall/winter season their pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake. I used to buy a whole cheesecake for myself during pandemic and eat it in 2 days by myself 🥲

Martha’s Country Bakery is hands-down one of my favorite spots in all of New York City. I’ve been a loyal customer for eight years and have visited multiple locations—and they never disappoint! Their carrot cake is truly unmatched: moist, flavorful, and generously frosted. I also adore their linzer tarts, although I have to admit the ones at this location aren’t quite as good as the Williamsburg branch—the texture here is a bit too thick for my taste. Still, the service is always warm and friendly, and the quality of most baked goods is consistently excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve got a sweet tooth!

Amazing bakery. Take your time when you order because the menu is long. I've been here a few times, and everything I've had was delicious. Coffee is also very good, and the service was great. Park a few blocks away and walk it off!

Last night I ordered a “strawberry Nutella creme brûlée”… and I got a cake with giant pieces of strawberry and nutella on top. The box was dripping like crazy with God knows what. I thought it was going to be more interesting than literally slapping stawberries and nutella on top, so that was already a let down… but presentation, mess, and taste took it to another level of disappointment. Giving 2 stars because I’ve had better things. Y’all need to rethink this one. 😅

I have been to the city many times over the past few years. I finally made my way into this gem of a bakery. Between the cakes, muffins and pies there is something for your palate. I chose the carrot cake cupcake. It did not disappoint. There was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. There was a hint of ginger and it was moist but not wet as some carrot cakes/muffins can be. The cream cheese frosting was soooo good. I wish had also gotten the hostess cupcake. Yes that’s right like the ones from your childhood. Except these are made fresh and not processed. See photo. Thanks to the staff who were super nice and the ambiance is what I would expect of a fanciful bakery. My rating is 5 stars.

Such a cozy little cupcake spot in Nolita — it feels super homey, like everything was baked with love right in someone’s kitchen. The vegan cookies and cream cupcake was seriously delicious (moist, not overly sweet), and the red velvet was really good too. Definitely want to come back to try their popular chocolate cake next time. Only downside is that their website could use a little refreshing — it doesn’t quite match how cute and warm the shop feels in person.

Popped in to try some sweets. The S'mores bar was a 3.5/5 as it was a little dry. The Nutella Bar was a 4/5. The Apple Crumb Bar was a 5/5 and was by far my favorite. I'd come back just for that. The service was great as the staff members were super nice and professional and there was no wait.

Giving stars because the shop looks nice and the workers were decently understanding when I expressed my concerns about their brownies. The cupcakes and brownies are very overrated and too sweet. They look delicious but the taste doesn’t match up unfortunately. Everything is overpriced for a mid cupcake. The rice Krispie treats may be the best thing there though! Overall, I wouldn’t come back

The strawberry cake flavor is decent but the texture is dry and needs to be more moist. For $10 per cake slice, I expect a higher quality product. The Brooklyn Blackout cake is not good and has a weird after taste.

It's cute and cozy. Always go there when I crave a gluten free cupcake. They're the best I had in NYC. Their vegan chocolate cupcakes are amazing as well. I would imagine the non gluten free cake and cupcakes are as good if not better from all the happy sugared faces.

My daughters treated me to a delicious raspberry vegan bar 3 years ago. I loved it!!! They have since shipped the same bars to me out of state. Came into town to spend my birthday with them and upon my arrival… my favorite bar waiting for me. I was so excited until I had my first bite and immediately noticed the bar is simply not the same bar. The crust is now very cake-like and devoid of flavor. The ingredients that made this bar my go to dessert in NYC have definitely changed and not for the better. It’s as if the ingredient list has been pared down to the bare minimum and the taste and texture reflects this sad change. Unfortunately, I will not return to LCB while visiting NYC nor ask for a special shipment.

“Bien Cuit” means “well done” and that’s exactly what this bakery is. This humble storefront often has a delicious aroma that draws pedestrians in from the street. Their baked goods are extensive and amazing. There are both savory and sweet options. The breads are small batch and baked daily on premise. The design and branding is tastefully done; much like their food. I ordered a cafe mocha ☕️ paired with a financier wrapped with a chocolate bar filling… as you guessed, I’m a chocolate fan! Much of the real estate is taken up by their baking operations hence the lack of seating nor restroom. There’s a small selection of market items which adds a nice touch. In the late afternoon, I’ve also had their ham sandwich on baguette 🥖 which is also excellent. Overall, Bien Cuit is a winner, highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love Bien Cuit! I used to live in this neighborhood and got treats from here every so often. I ALWAYS got the almond croissant , which I love. I recently stopped by and decided to venture out into some newness and got the pastry in the photo. It was a tasty mix of sour , sweet and salty. Good , but not something I’ll get to be honest. Definitely a must visit overall though!

No seating but worth going every day. Excellent coffee, croissant and must try the zaatar n lemon scone. Service with pride.

Paid $9 for a chocolate almond croissant, which was only alright -- I can't justify the price. Definitely on the sweeter end, and I didn't really taste a difference even with their "bien cuit"/well done style of baking. Overall a decent, but not must-try, croissant.

I've never had such a mid $8 pain au chocolat. I'm not sure if the pastry was stale, but the croissant was tough, not flaky. Every blue moon, I try and give this place a chance, but frankly they're egregiously expensive for a mediocre product.

When I heard about Bien Cuit I said to myself I have to go. It's super cute place with tables that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and croissant. The products are delicious, well backed and crispy! I took a traditional croissant with butter and jam and daniish with asparagus and cheese, delicious!!

I smelled something delicious on the street so I had to walk in and try something here. I ordered one croissant but the guy gave me 3 for the price of 1, and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

We went on a Sunday so street parking was not that difficult. We got some cupcakes because they looked pretty and the flavors sounded great but they all tasted horrible and were very hard that we each took one bite of each item then threw it out. We also got the pecan bar and a peanut butter Nutella one - both were not worth the price and my kids hated it. We also ended up throwing them out. Also the employee that was helping us seemed very impatient which caused us to feel flustered and I didn’t get to order more than I would usually for trying a bakery for the first time - albeit I have to say it benefited us since we didn’t like anything we did get so would just have been an added waste of money.

Went there because it's the only cafe close to my work. Place is small and expensive. When it comes to food and drink, it's very bad. I had a latte and a cheese biscuit. The biscuit and latte tasted terrible, and it was expensive. I spent more than $10 and had to throw out my drink and biscuit. I would not go there again.

Pretty community-engaged bakery. Cute space with seating inside. 🥐❤️‍🔥Croissant was out of my expectations! Their croissant reminded me of the pineapple bun in Chinese bakeries. It was brick-liked crunchy outside, soft and pliable inside. I made myself a sandwich at home. The apple spiced cake was a classic. Moist but a little bit oily for me. The brownie and cookie thing was the same. Delicious but slightly too oily.

Quaint shop with plenty of indoor seating and lots of dessert options to choose from. Blueberry muffin was a classic and the matcha tea was yummy!

So happy we went with Baked for our wedding cake. From the very first tasting, Annemarie was warm, professional, and easy to work with. On our wedding day, the cake was stunning — it looked exactly how we imagined and tasted incredible. We ended up going with the citrus passionfruit, red velvet, and almond matcha (our personal favorite). Usually not a cake person, but Baked cakes are undeniably delicious

Our wedding guests continue to tell us how great our desserts were—even many months later! So we had to make sure to send our thanks to Baked! We had a cutting cake with two different flavors: Oopsy Daisy on the top, Sweet and Salty on the bottom. Then we sent out platters of cupcakes to our tables of those flavors, plus a mix of others. Additionally, we were able to serve some gluten-free and vegan options for guests with dietary restrictions. Annemarie really helped us work through all the details beforehand, and everything turned out perfect on the day of. Again, we cannot thank them enough! Expect us to come back often, and especially on our anniversary, to pick up some treats!

This bakery is heaven!!! Like best almond croissant of my life kind of heaven. Can I say it was better than any baked goodies I had in Paris or is that too much?!?! Also the coffee is great but the Chai latte is even better. They use a real tea blend and not just from a box like most places. Nice seating options. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful cafe on the west side of Greenpoint on a nice street. The sourdough bagel is airier than a regular bagel, With fixings, I think the lack of density can be a little missing. Next time I'd probably just do the bagel with cream cheese. I liked the ham and cheese focaccia especially when I warmed it up on a skillet rotating the surface that touched the bottom. That I do recommend although you should have an appetite. It's a heavy item, very heavy.

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience today 3-3:30PM. I came to pick up a birthday cake I had ordered three weeks in advance for someone very special to me. I chose this bakery because of its great reputation for healthy, gluten-free cakes—and I was genuinely looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service I received. When I walked in, I greeted the staff warmly with a smile and a “hello.” The woman behind the counter asked for my pickup name, and I gave it—adding that it was for a cake I had pre-ordered. She immediately cut me off and said, “I only asked for your name,” with a smirk, as if I had said something wrong. It felt unnecessarily rude, but I chose to stay polite and move on. What really upset me was what happened next. As she was handing me the cake, it suddenly tilted heavily to one side and nearly slipped out of the box. I had to catch it quickly with my own hands to keep it from toppling over completely. Despite this, she didn’t apologize or check to see if the cake was okay. She simply said, “Don’t worry, it’s fine,” and handed it over as if nothing had happened. Because of the tilt, the glitter decoration—which I had paid extra for—ended up smudged all over the clear part of the cake box. Because I was leaving for the out of town right after, I didn’t have time to request a replacement—but I left the store feeling very upset and disappointed. I also politely asked if they had a plastic knife I could use to cut the cake, and again, her response was dismissive and mocking. She laughed and said, “I’ve never heard of that,” as if it were a ridiculous question. I completely understand if they don’t provide plastic knives—but there’s a respectful way to say that without belittling the customer or comparing other bakeries in a sarcastic tone. And just to clarify, many bakeries do offer plastic knives for convenience—so it wasn’t an unreasonable question at all. I don’t know what kind of day she was having or why she felt the need to treat a customer this way—but for someone picking up a cake for a special occasion, it left a really bitter impression. This one interaction had the power to ruin what should’ve been a joyful and meaningful moment. For a place with such a strong reputation, I hope the management considers the impact staff attitude can have on a customer’s experience. No matter how good the product may be, the service still matters.

Working with Ovenly for our wedding cake was such a breeze! The ease started when they accommodated specific delivery instructions for the cupcake tasters. It went smooth and every taster was AMAZING! We emailed with Lynn and ordered our chocolate Stout with Raspberry filing cake. Around a week before our wedding we were able to add some cupcakes without a problem for non-chocolate loving friends. Lynn was understanding and answered quickly when I checked in just to make sure delivery was set the week before because I was being an anxious bride. Everything was delivered with no issue to the wedding venue day of. Everyone LOVED the cake and cupcakes. People across the room could smell the amazing dark chocolate stout cake once we did the first cut. We got asked for the bakery multiple times. The 12 inch fed a room of ~55 with enough left over for our 1 year anniversary piece to freeze. We loved working with Ovenly and plan on being returning customers for future events.

Ovenly is a solid dessert location with a variety of unique cakes, cookies and cupcakes. We tried the hot chocolate cookie and Brooklyn Blackout cupcake, both of which were tasty and not as overly sweet as some desserts. They use beer in the making of the Brooklyn Blackout, which added some unique flavor to the cupcake.

Friends and I planned a challenge to visit the best cookies in NYC. Ovenly was our first stop and we came here for its Salted Peanut Butter and the Daily Special - Salted Almond Chocolate Chunk. The Peanut Butter was one of our top 3, soft inside with strong PB smell and crunchy outside. The size was perfect for individuals. The Almond Chocolate Chunk was too salty on the layer and off balance with almond & chocolate. We also got a Ham & Cheese Croissant to share since it looked so appetizing in the display. However, even with our request to heat it up, the croissant was still served cold. It tasted not as good as what we expected. The decor was artsy and adorable with cozy ambiance, so we enjoyed our stay there (dining outside) even in a cold weather.

Cute coffee shop, cakes are on the dense side, good mix of savoury and sweet offerings. Coffee slightly too bitter for what I usually like. Very nice barista.

I came here to purchase my son’s birthday cake because I wanted to try something new once, and I was going off of the reviews online and the location looked beautiful with a huge variety. But sadly I ended up being very disappointed. I arrived 2 hours early to pick up my cake and it wasn’t ready, okay that was probably my fault. I returned at the agreed time and it didn’t even have the writing on it. It was like they forgot my order existed until the day of. The woman wrote on the cake in front of me, and I honestly wanted to cry. If I wasn’t in a rush for the birthday party I probably would’ve asked for a correction. The cake looked like it was decorated by my 3 year old. For 86$ I honestly expected a bit more.

Call it a classic or a throwback but make sure to go there and decide for yourself! Great selection of Greek and Italian American pastries and other fantastic treats. We enjoyed pignoles, almond wedding cakes, cannolis and baklava. And they were all delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff so of course we bought more than planned. It was worth it to splurge on such great quality.

Bay Ridge Bakery is the best!!! My custom cake for my 27th birthday came out exactly as I dreamed and was absolutely outstanding. It remained fluffy for 5 straight days of leftovers! Thank you all for your amazing work!

Absolutely love this bakery for numerous baked goods regardless of reason or season but felt compelled to create a review after having a delicious strawberry shortcake for my grandfather’s birthday. He said it was the very best he’d ever had and if that’s not deserving of 5 stars, I don’t know what is. Keep up the amazing work!

Offering a wide variety of freshly baked cookies, pastries and bread. My favorite is their cheesecake, but it must be consumed within a day or two of preparation as it ages quickly. Chocolate lovers will be disappointed as their brownies are good but often sold beyond their expiration point and their eclairs are not chocolatey enough. For holidays they usually have free samples by the cash register which I always find hard to resist. They use quality ingredients which is reflected in their pricing and are one of the best bakeries in Bay Ridge for non-chocolate items.

We love getting their chocolate cake here whenever we are in the area. Their chocolate cake is not too sweet and that’s exactly how we like it. Most of the cakes we have eaten in South Brooklyn are always sweet or they don’t taste as great but the chocolate cake here is different. I believe they also have some crushed almonds in there which makes it even better in terms of texture. The taste and the amount of filling they have is just perfect.

For my 60th Birthday celebration, I made an unusual request to have their lemon bundt cake recipe made into a sheet cake to decorate for the celebration; the owner was very attentive and patient. The cake was a HUGE HIT! It looked (simply) marvelous, as I would have it! Delivery was timely, which is very important.

Cute little bakery. Love the art on the outside. It's not a huge selection but what they have is very good. I took home 2 Rustic Apple Pies and 2 Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. My mom and I enjoyed these treats very much. The service is good and the prices are reasonable.

Betty Bakery is a small hidden treasure in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn NYC. This small bakery has a very nice atmosphere to it. The interior has a lot of character and makes you want to sit down, forget about your summer body diet and eat something delicious asap. They have so many goodies to choose from. So many delicious cookies, cakes and pies that stare you in the face. I had a really hard time choosing between all those irresistible treats but AJ came to the rescue and recommended the carrot cake, one of his favorites. And let me tell you, that cake was ridiculously tasty and met my high expectations. To be honest this might be the best carrot cake I’ve ever had. I also got some cookies and a cupcake to go for my trip back home. They were also very good and tasty. So to conclude my review, I'll be back for another round of tasting and indulging myself with all the baked goods when I visit New York again. I highly recommend this cute and high quality bakery to anyone who’s visiting NYC. It was a refreshingly sweet and delicious experience more than anything. Thanks for the welcoming hospitality and service :)

The guy on the phone said it’s the best and it is. Easily the best Carrot Cake in NYC, and yes, I’ve had Lloyd’s, Hani’s, Billy’s, Carrot Top, Mia’s, Little Cupcake (which is actually not good at all), and many many others. It has very similar cake layers to Lloyd’s and is truthfully not quite as warming, dense, or rich of a mouthful, but the icing is perfectly balanced. Velvety mouthfeel, not gritty or mealy like Lloyd’s, and not nearly as sweet. It’s a very dreamy nostalgic bite, and from someone who has tried hundreds of carrot cakes recipes at home and out at bakeries, this is as good as it gets.

I love their savory pies! We get a dozen at a time and stock the freezer, easy lunch or kids meal always on hand. The Argentine Beef and the Cumin Lamb are the adults favorites, the kids love the Bacon Egg and Cheese and the Steak and Cheese.

I asked AJ to recommend between the oreo cheesecake and the red velvet cake. He without hesitation said the red velvet cake. Without a doubt the best I've ever had. Rich, dense, moist VELVETY ( a quality lacking in many red velvets) balanced by a not overly sweet cream cheese frosting. Went down smoothly even without a glass of milk or a cup of coffee

I went there, and I have to say I had the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had in my life, the service was excellent, even though I could see straight through the people I think they were ghosts however, the cobweb chocolate cake was fantastic! Which led me to believe that they closed a few years ago after reading all the reviews. I hope what I ate was chocolate cake. Service was a little lackluster.

This is such a quaint cute little bakery. They have all kinds of incredible cake and cupcake flavors you could imagine - PB, blackout chocolate, coconut, carrot cake, banana walnut and more. They are also known for their cheesecake! The line could get long, but it always moves quickly. Everything is so tasty. Large cupcakes are $3-4, mini cupcakes are $1.75 each. I highly recommend the peanut butter chocolate cupcake!!

Love this shop! Got their cheesecake, Brooklyn blackout cupcake(mini) and a slice of pie. The cupcake was good, very moist and yummy, but too sweet for me. Glad that I got the mini ones instead of the bigger size. As for the pie, it was not impressive. A little on the sweeter side, but good. I love their cheesecake! It was very unique: really dense and heavy, and is only slightly sweet. You can taste how well the cheese-flavor comes in this piece. Highly recommended! Love this place overall, would love to come back and try more.

A New Yorker recommended me cheesecakes of here. I came here for only cheesecakes. But cupcakes kept calling me to get them so I got some. Cheesecake is just normal. You can find this kind of cake anywhere in NYC. Thing that made my happy was cupcakes. The best cupcakes in my life. My favorite is peanut butter one. I love you so much, lovely cupcakes❤

Two little red hens is a bakery that reminds you what pastries should taste like. I had a simple coconut custard cupcake and mist say it makes me delighted I walked in. I would recommend this if you are in New York, either visiting or living. I will say next time I must order their pie as I am always looking for a good slice. Thank you for a much needed smile.

#1 spot in NYC for carrot cake. After trying countless places, this is the best carrot cake I've ever had. The cream cheese frosting is exquisite and the cake is always moist. They are a little pricey, but worth every single cent. For carrot cake, I recommend the small cake over the cupcakes because the proportion of frosting to cake is better.

Lady Wong is a flop! I’m disappointed by all the great reviews especially because most are from Asians. The black sesame passion fruit is pretty sweet and not as described at all. It’s suppose to be a black sesame moose but the consistency is definitely not a mouse and also has very little black sesame flavor. The best part was the passion fruit but there’s very little of it. I also got a pineapple cake was a bigger disappointment especially at $9 for 2. There was more breading than anything and the pineapple portion is definitely not 100% pineapple. The flavor is very off! I’ve had some of the best pineapple cakes in Taiwan. I wouldn’t waste calories eating any desserts from Lady Wong!

Delicious cakes and kuih! Every single cake is so delicious. Matcha pandan tart had a good mix of both matcha and pandan. Very surprised how the flavors mixed so well and it tasted so refreshing. Definitely unique as I've not had this flavor before. Black sesame and passion fruit had both earthy nutty flavor from black sesame, and then a good citrus tart flavor from passion fruit. Passion fruit and calamansi cake was light, fluffy and fruity delicious. The kuih was good. The custard was so soft and smooth, while the non custard kuih was smooth, just the right chewy texture and not overly sweet. Wonderful.

We got 4 things (black sesame, strawberry guava, ube nian gao, hazelnut crêpe cake), and everything had 9-10 flavor, texture, and design 😍—wish we’d tried more! All were nicely sweet and not cloying. It’s a very small shop but pretty and clean, with good service. There is seating. They tape the card to the bottom of the box so your goods don’t get messed up. 👍 The only sad thing is that they might not have your favorite pastry since the display always changes and sells out quickly. Strawberry guava was light and airy as a cloud and melts in your mouth. The balance between the savoriness of the sesame and tartness of the passionfruit is lovely. Prob the most unique thing on the menu for those unfamiliar with Asian flavors. I do think there could be more passionfruit to sesame. Hazelnut crêpe cake is soft, milky and easy to eat with a utensil unlike other mille-feuilles. I didn’t get that much praline flavor, however. Ube nian gao was my favorite. The inside is so so chewy and contrasts with the crust which reminded me of cereal.

Hit or miss depending on the dessert you get. I got 3 desserts: black sesame passionfruit, matcha tart and talam pandan. Didn’t really taste the black sesame, the passionfruit overpowered the dessert. Matcha tart was okay. The best one was the talam pandan, that actually tasted like the ones I used to eat as a kid. I’d still come back and try their other desserts.

Was told this was the place to go for some Asian fusion baked goods but a little unimpressed. While the mango sticky rice cake was good, the service and the cleanliness of the place was lacking. Granted we walked in around 7:30pm but the worker there wasn’t helpful with picking out desserts and could barely hear what she was saying. Also she seemed overwhelmed when an online order came through with something that was sold out but I guess she didn’t check until the driver came to pick up. Will have to try again for a more thorough review.

Finally paid a visit after following the instagram for years. Cakes are very sweet. Hv to say the taste is customized to New Yorkers. Services are also below my expectations. Anyway, we have tried.

This area bustles with many bakeries and we did a bakery crawl starting here first! The place is super cute and small as well. It has extra seating just outside Food : We tried their famous cinnamon bun and it was good. The bread was super soft and the flavours was lovely. The only thing that didn’t work was that it was too sweet. The cream on top was yum but too sugary Service and wait : Even though there was a long line and too many customers, the line moved quick and the staff was super sweet and helpful. Ambience : Small quaint place and with limited seating inside. Overall a good bakery with not just cinnamon roll but pies, pudding and cakes.

Second time going go Hani’s bakery. Went early enough to get the cinnamon bun. I was underwhelmed. Loved the icing but not the actual bun. Very good portion though, it’s huge. Could barely finish it. I did love the raspberry loaf. Had the triple chunk cookie the first time I went and it was just okay. Limited seating. So be prepared to take out.

First time here, my friend asked me to meet this cute bakery. 9am, there is no line, and all bakery goods are prepared and displayed nicely. Iced Cold Brew was delicious. I got a slice of smoked salmon flatbread. Very good!

Very cute bakery! Got the carrot cake and a cinnamon roll. Both delicious and the icing on the cinnamon roll was delectable. However, flavors were a little lighter than I wanted. But the atmosphere of the bakery was great and could spend an hour or two here reading Update: I went again and the breakfast sandwich is amazing. Absolutely will come back again and again for that.

Best salmon toast I've ever had! Fluffy and crunchy bread fresh ingredients and topping go really well together. Cinnamon bun light fluffy and sweet. Delicious food and worth the hype. Friendly and helpful staff.

Service here is amazing! Staff is super nice but the food was okay. I got the carrot cake and the flavors of the cake were nice. But the cake overall was a little dry for a carrot cake. Also I wouldn't go out of my way to make the trip go to this place. The prices are a lil expensive for what they deliver. It is hard to compete with other pastry shops that offer better with the same price range. For this price point I expected a little more because it wasn't anything to write home about. I hope they get better in the future!

Actually bbbusssinnn. The corn basil cake is like 12/10 amazing delicious. I am gluten intolerant but glutened myself for this. The lines are stupid actually. On a Saturday honestly don’t even try. I went an hour after they opened on a Friday and got the last slice of cake. Like it’s insane. But this stuff isssss good. I wish they opened earlier. But otherwise no notes. Great food.

Such a cool bakery!! Quirky, fun flavours. Iikeeeee. Massive line that moves kinda fast (11am on Saturday - when they open). They know how to make cake!! I’ve had two of their corn cakes and they were soooo good. I really liked the midnight banana bread. It’s a treat. Corn bun was alright for me - it felt a bit stale? I would keep coming back to try their massive rotating selection of cakes, bars, cookies, buns & more.

Finally made it here to try to choco-toffee cookie, only to find that they were out. That was surprising, as we got there hours before closing time, but I guess that’s not really their fault. What was most irritating was that we stood outside in the midday sun for at least 20 minutes before we could get inside and realize that they were out of several item. I wish they’d at least put up a sign so people aren’t wasting their time waiting for items that aren’t there. Since we stood in line, we grabbed a spiced oatmeal cookie, which was overly sweet. There are plenty of good cookie places in NYC - this one is not worth another visit.

My wife and I squeezed in a visit here, last thing before leaving the country on our visit from the UK. I’m almost struggling to find words to describe how at home one felt walking through the door. Something about the nostalgic smell of fresh baked cookies, or perhaps the knowledge that as an LGBT person you’re welcomed in with open arms. We chose an abundance of cookies which served as an excellent snack whilst travelling. Whatever you guys do with your Spiced & Iced cookie, just carry on doing it!!!!!

Excellent! The best cinnamon roll I have ever tried. It was a pumpkin pecan caramel roll It was with true sourdough and a good recipe not just another “bread milk” with cinnamon. They really do the effort to make a great cinnamon roll!

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE MISO APPLE CRUMB BAR. I’ve been playing a game over the past several weeks to find my personal favorite autumnal treat in NYC. Because I’m a sucker for aesthetics, I assumed that my inevitable winner would be something with tons of orange frosting(which was my logic behind getting the candy corn Oreo from here as well) and a healthy amount of Halloween sprinkles. If we’re being honest, I didn’t even want to get the miso apple crumb bar because that sounded kind of weird to me—but it was recommended to me by someone who knows what they’re talking about. I thought I died when I ate this and transcended to a version of heaven where it’s just me, this miso apple crumb bar, and somehow still everyone else on the sidewalk where I stuffed this entire bar into my face in a wave of delirium. The texture of this just shouldn’t exist: it has a stable base and perfect, crispy firm crumb topping, but the mid-section is this incredible, gooey layer of perfectly seasoned apples that melt in your mouth with a flavor profile that’s giving complexity and saltiness. It’s like grandma’s apple crumb but carefully elevated by the umami quality until it becomes a dreamy mix of cinnamon apple salty crumbly goodness. By comparison, the Candy corn Oreo was fine, but I wouldn’t need to be buried with it. Unlike the miso apple crumb bar, which should be placed directly in my coffin upon my demise.

Eileen’s Special Cheesecake is a tiny Soho gem with a cheesecake case that reads like a rainbow—every flavor looks better than the last. I went straight for the classics and grabbed cherry, strawberry, and caramel. All three hit the right balance, but the strawberry stole the show with bright fruit that cuts through the cream. What I love is the texture: the graham-cracker crust stays buttery without turning soggy, and the filling is fluffy rather than dense, so it never feels heavy or overly sweet. My only wish is for a hint of crunch in the base to add contrast, but that’s splitting hairs. For a quick cheesecake fix that keeps things light and flavorful, Eileen’s is an easy win.

I LOVE Eileen’s cheesecake and I do not like cheesecake! This is something special and next level from 98% of cheesecake made. It’s fresh and the flavors are on point. It’s not too sweet, staff is always pleasant. Been eating here for well over a decade, not disappointed once. My favorite fruit is raspberry, pineapple, strawberry. My favorite non fruit is salted caramel and low sugar. The crust is so delicate. Keep up the great job!

The cheesecake at Eileen's is, without a doubt, the best cheesecake in New York City, in my humble opinion. Unlike the heavy, overly dense cakes you find elsewhere, Eileen's has a remarkably light, fluffy, and creamy texture that melts in your mouth. It's incredibly flavorful, and has a lite taste. Love that you can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The individual-sized cheesecakes are perfect. I ordered strawberry, and salted caramel each individual cost $6.50 each. Customers can purchase bigger size cheesecakes, and Eileen’s ship nationwide. The smaller individual cheesecakes options allow you to try multiple delicious flavors in one visit. From the classic plain, rich salted caramel, fruity strawberry, cherry, and blueberry. The shop on Cleveland Place has a cozy, old-school charm that adds to the experience, and while the space is small, if there is a line, just know, the line moves quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. A visit to Eileen's is a must-do for any cheesecake lover in the city. Eileen’s is a Soho must visit!

Always a pleasant experience to visit Eileen’s! The staff is always super helpful and friendly. An abundance of options to choose from for personal size cheesecakes and have never been let down. Tried their seasonal pumpkin cheesecake during today’s visit and enjoyed it quite a bit! Would definitely recommend Eileen’s when in the area.

As I opened the box, my appetite was filled with joy as I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Strawberry: This pie is topped with a giant strawberry and smothered in strawberry sauce. It was unbelievably fruity and tangy. Classic Plain: This original New York cheesecake was smooth and creamy. If you want to go plain Jane, this pie has your name! Cookies N Cream: This tart was beautifully handcrafted; the mini Oreo cookie added a nice decorative touch. The chocolate graham cracker crust blended well with the cheesecake. Salted Caramel: What makes this pie unique to the others is the hardened creme brulee at the top, giving it a crunchy texture. The dining area is standing room only, but there are plenty of outdoor benches across the street at Lt. Petrosino Square. Be prepared to wait in line, but it moves pretty quickly! When people talk about the best cheesecake in NYC, it's usually between this and Junior's I've had Junior's before, and it's my favorite dessert of all time - so I was really looking forward to this place. It was a very high bar, but I think this matches it. Does it exceed it? I don't know, but what I do know is the cheesecake from here is damn good Instead of slices, the cheesecake here is served in mini tarts. This is much smaller than your typical slice, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you were here for. I liked it because it gave me a chance to eat the whole thing as a snack without feeling too full The cheesecake flavor is outstanding. It's that classic mix of creaminess, slight sourness, and cheesiness that makes this kind of cake what it is. Every bite is just so addicting it's hard to get enough of. These are truly those moments where you sit back, close your eyes, and just let the flavor wash over you. The texture is also perfect. You barely even need to chew (at least for the parts that aren't the crust) - it just melts in your mouth. What's unique about this cheesecake, compared to others, is that the crust goes all the way around the edges, nearly reaching up to the top in some parts. This is very nice because it means that eating from the outside-in, you can get a combination of crust and cake in a lot of bites - way more than if it were just at the bottom. For someone like me who loves the crust on these, this just makes it that much better. It also helps that the graham cracker crust is packed very tightly together, and not crumbly at all. Again, if I'm comparing this to Junior's I would have to say it's a tie for me. I like the actual cheesecake flavor slightly more there, because it's way more dense, but the lightness and fluffiness of Eileen's certainly has its place, and the crust certainly helps. Either way, though, you absolutely can't go wrong with the two best desserts I've ever had. Overall, this again proves that no city does cheesecake like NYC. 9.75/10

It’s a very classy cafe, the decor is beautiful it transport you directly in the late 1800s. The place is huge and you have a ton of option for pastries. We got the carrot cake and strawberry cheese cake, both were excellent and fresh. The service was quick and good. We totally recommend this place if you are around.

We were looking for some dessert for after dinner and this place was closed by. We had some apple mince pie, a slice of tart, a puff pastry with fresh cream and strawberries and affogato. I think some of the dessert like mince pie should be warm up for it to taste good. The Affogato was a bit small and the tart was extremely sweet with no other flavours to cut it. Overall, big place with many seats and a great varieties of dessert to choose from!

Italian place that serves lots of different cakes and pastries. We had american cream cheese cake, red velvet, cannoli and some drinks. The cakes were absolutely amazing, and my espresso martini was also great. The classic italian decor really added to the whole experience.

Everything has been fresh and not overly sweet. The vibe is old school New York with long glass cases and a steady crowd. It gets busy at night, but the line moves. Prices feel fair for the quality. Pro tip: build a small box so you can taste a few different things. Easy walk-over stop after drinks or dinner, and you can usually eat outside if it is not packed. Staple spot.

my friend wanted tiramisu for his birthday so i searched for the best in the city & veniero’s came up. my friend was familiar with the place but had never gone so we’re decided to give them a try. the vibe is very cozy but busy pastry counter with an amazing selection. the tiramisu changed his life, & now when he thinks of tiramisu this is the one he’ll picture! i also tried the chocolate mousse which was yummo!

We visited Veniero’s and picked up a box of pastries. The strawberry tarts were fresh and creamy, and the cannoli with pistachios was delicious. What I really liked is that the desserts weren’t overly sweet, and the small size makes it easy to try different kinds at once. Everything looked beautiful and felt homemade.

The cakes and pastries here are outstanding, but the biscotti are very average. The almond and sesame were good, the others were not particularly flavorful. It was $6.5 for three cookies if you eat in the dining room.

Everything is great about this place. First, the donut was really, really good. I tried the traditional glazed, and it was honestly incredible. Secondly, the service was super friendly and helpful. The girl behind the counter was really kind. Last but not least, it's hard to beat their prices, especially in NYC.

I was in the area so I finally stopped by Peter Pan Donuts. I tried the blueberry buttermilk donut first, and honestly, it was pretty dry. Mike’s Donuts in Bay Ridge definitely does a better blueberry donut. The apple crumble donut, though, totally saved the experience. It was excellent — the apple filling and pie crumb topping worked perfectly together, and it wasn’t overly sweet. Definitely the highlight. From what I saw (and tasted), their cake donuts seem to run on the dry side. I’d stick to their yeast donuts instead, since the sour cream, old fashioned, and chocolate cake donuts all looked dry too. Customer service was fine — not rude, but I did have to flag someone down to get served once seated. Overall: 3/5.

I was ready to be absolutely blown away by the doughnuts here and bought two to test both. Firstly, and perhaps my fault, the offer wasn’t as broad as I’d hoped due to selling out. I really wanted to try glazed/plain plus one of the jam options that I did try. On both doughnuts the pastry was exceptional - mixture of light and full of flavour. Jam was too much for me - felt too processed/thick/sugary. It’s a good offer so I’d recommend trying. Queue is long but moves quick so don’t be put off by that.

We visited here on a Sunday morning around 11 am, just before the lunch rush. I was hoping to order an apple fritter, but they ran out, so I ordered a honey dip and a lemon filled donut, which was generously filled. The texture of the donuts was soft and chewy, making it a perfect snack! I loved the old-fashioned diner vibes with the barstools and decor. This joint was reasonably priced, especially considering the price of quality pastries in NYC, but I would definitely recommend visiting early in the morning for a greater selection of flavors. I would definitely recommend visiting Greenpoint Toys across the street with its wide array of toys for all ages.

I so wanted to like this place but the donuts were…. beyond mid. Their classic honey ring donut had an oily, unfresh taste and their blueberry cake donut was similarly gas station-like. The staff were super friendly and the retro vibe inside is very cute. My NYC donut search continues :(

Was recommended by NYPD cop and wanted to like it, but was trash food. Went there late AM July 28 and it was the first and only thing I ate that day. Had coffee, red velvet donut but marble cruller was off, really oily from the fryer and just bad tasting chocolate. But that was enough to upset stomach and started vomiting later so everything came out until nothing left. Otherwise, staff was wonderful, prices good, cool atmosphere... but we'll never go back.

We ordered a heart-shaped cake in the Crowd Pleaser for our wedding and it was absolutely perfect! We live in the neighborhood and it meant so much to be able to have a local favorite for our wedding cake! And we love that we can grab a cupcake for anniversaries...or just when we need a sweet treat!

Been there twice in 1 week, while spending the holidays in NY with my family. The staff is so nice and friendly, and you can really taste authentic American pastries - cupcakes, cheesecake, pies of any kind, brownies and sì much more. As an Italian, I strongly recommend it!

I went to Billy’s bakery for the first time and I got a red velvet cupcake (my personal favorite flavor) and it was amazing, love the texture of the cupcake and the cream cheese frosting brings it all together. Will definitely go back to try more. 💯

When I showed up with this cake, which was already a surprise for the special guest, she immediately saw the bag and was ecstatic to see it was from Billy's Bakery. They depicted Miffy perfectly, and the taste was also spot on! Would definitely order with BB again in the future for any occasion!

Billy’s made a custom cat cake for my senior kitty’s birthday, and it was spectacular—both in taste and appearance! They were incredibly responsive to all my questions and went above and beyond to make sure the cake was exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend!

How is this place still living in the early days of vegan baking. These two dry cupcakes were almost $18. One is chocolate and other is lemon it tasted like oil, very disappointed. There are too many good places to try in the city unfortunately won’t be coming back. I did had a lemon loaf a long time ago that was tasty.

My fiancé and I were walking around the area and we unexpectedly stumbled upon this bakery. Initially we were just going to get him a donut but then we realized they were gluten free and allergy friendly so we got the iced lemon blueberry loaf and biscuits as well. The Samoa donut was amazing, soft and moist! The loaf was really good as well. When you go to most gluten free bakeries they over compensate for the lack of gluten with sugar and I usually can’t eat much of it but here they use a good balance of sweeteners, as well as natural ones. I can’t wait to try more items in the future!! The employees were very nice and helpful.

One of my favorite bakeries in the city. Every year my family gets me my birthday cake from Erin McKenna’s and I absolutely love it. I’m a chocolate girl and their brownie cakes are to die for! Occasionally when I’m in the area. I would stop by a grab a cupcake or two because why not! I look forward to eating my birthday cakes every year and can’t wait for this one! Should be called a scone and have a different shape because so dense and not fluffy at all 2.lemon donut: very good 3.coconut donut: nice texture of the frosting, quite sweet, couldn't eat more than 1/3 4.pumpkin spice loaf (fall): dense (not fluffy) but soft and great flavors. only can eat 1/3 or 1/2 in one sitting. good overall and satisfies your sweet tooth. Could omit frosting, doesn't add much apart from make it sweeter 5.chocolate/brownie bite: dense, very rich, sweet, small and satisfying (almost a bit small), one more bite would be ideal 6.mocha donut: donut base tastes like lemon. frosting taste like coffee. expected the frosting to be crunchy because of the "crumble"-like texture but it tastes like frosting and is smoother than one may think. Very pretty 7.sprinkle (pink) vanilla donut: very good donut, although quite sweet and, once again, dense (not fluffy or light). almost a hint of lemon, perhaps from cross contamination. Took off the frosting 8.chocolate crumb cake : decadent, sweet and rich. syrup glaze on top (chocolate). sort of syrup that is unnecessary. The cake tastes a bit off, probably because I'm used to regular chocolate cake with wheat flour? looks fluffier than it tastes. the top of the cake is sweeter but more moist than the bottom (almost as if cooked in 2 times). too sugary. 9.jalapeño cheddar biscuit: disgusting. dry, tastes off. doesn't preserve well. gross. Staff is friendly, baked goods are ideal for a tea party, dessert for yourself or a gift

The staff was very friendly and helpful with providing recommendations. The agave chocolate crumble cake was fudgy, moist, and flavorful. Unfortunately, the carrot cake cupcake was dry and underwhelming. Looking forward to trying the donuts the next time I go.

Mission: Put together a selection of vegan goodies for my son's 40th birthday. The process: Not being in Manhattan, in fact, being in NC, I had to Google vegan bakeries and there's quite a few. After viewing a dozen websites, I called a half dozen to inquire about building a spectacular selection for a surprise gift. I read over a hundred reviews to determine options and finally came up with what I felt was a perfect variety. Ordering was . . . . a piece of cake, so to speak. We ran through the menu items, decided on quantities and talked about the delivery. I requested pictures before they delivered and they complied and are attached to this review. Courteous, professional, timely and customer focused, and, by the way, the cakes, brownies and cookies were, as I heard, quite delicious. I'm only sorry I didn't get to try anything. 15/10 recommended, you should try it.

Absolutely loved this bakery! I've been waiting years to visit here on pilgrimage from the UK, and got to see the newly refurbished shop interior on the day it reopened in January 2020. Definitely not disappointed - there was a wide range of gluten-free and vegan cakes, cookies and doughnuts available. All of them were great! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and served with the biggest of smiles. Kinda wish I lived across the pond so that I could visit more often, but at least I know now that I'm baking correctly from the recipe books! Looking forward to visiting again someday soon.

One of the best banana puddings I’ve ever tasted in my life so much better than Magnolia and the price point is much more acceptable

Friendly staff, pretty cool variety of pudding flavors, of which you can get one free small spoon taste (sweet stuff!). Cupcakes also not bad to very good, although best to ask them which are the freshest, as I think a pistachio I bought and ate right after purchase was noticeably a little drier than what I think good cake should be, vs a chocolate one also from that same day that I ate 48 hours later (amazingly surviving through plane flights). I didn’t ask if they were baked at the same time, but the man did mention that if I came back the next day, a new batch wouldn’t be ready til 3 or 4pm, which is why I bought that evening instead.

This place is amazing! I called the morning-of needing a vegan chocolate cake big enough to feed 10 people for later that night. The cake was ready in a few hours and it was DELICIOUS. They seriously helped me out and I will definitely be coming back to try new flavors (and ordering in advance this time lol)

Love this place. Love the fact I can have vegan cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies here. Coffee (we’re talking classic brew here) and tea for $1,- is a wonderful add-on to all the sweetness. Various yummy-looking desserts (you’ll have to try them for me😉). Moved to Grand street, it’s more visible and accessible. Now get over here and have yourself a sweet time🩷

Ran over to this bakery for some sweet treats just before they closed. I’ve been dying to taste the pistachio cupcakes and pound cake. I ended up ordering 2 pistachio cupcakes and 1 lemon cupcake ( they were closing and didn’t have enough time to decide). Upon tasting all the cupcake I will say I thought it was all just OK. Good but just ok. I didn’t like the sprinkles and glitter added to each of the cupcakes and I wasn’t a fan of what tasted like marshmallow icing on the pistachio cupcakes. Now the lemon cupcake was great. More my cupcake speed minus the sprinkle and glitter. I can definitely go for another lemon cupcake sometime in the future. There is a pudding refrigerator in the back with really nice layers of flavor that I’d love to try on another visit . The bakery doesn’t have a lot of seating and the staff are really nice. The pricing is also reasonable for the city. I will try to return soon.

I came here in my childhood days for their renowned banana pudding and didn't think I'd end up visiting again for an entirely different request so many years later. I ordered a vegan dark chocolate cake with mocha filling and my friend absolutely loved it! Peggy was very patient & accommodating on the phone and via email to make sure the cake would come out exactly how I wanted.

Update (8/16): went with the ooey gooey today and was not disappointed. Also had a chance to visit the new(ish) location on Grand (note that it moved last September from its Rivington St location). And a blessing to see both co-owners in the shop today! *** I am so happy I stumbled upon this wonderful bakery at least ten years ago. While I lived in the City, I trekked down to the Lower East Side often just to get what I consider the best cupcake in NYC: Sugar Sweet Sunshine's spicy pumpkin. The bakery is appropriately named, as it fills you with happiness and the food equivalent of sunshine. The cupcakes - unlike most of the famous ones in the City - will remind you of the ones that moms used to make for birthday parties while we were all in primary school. The women who own this spot are true gems, and I'm so happy to see it still thriving. Go support it, and you will not be disappointed.

I took a visiting friend to Bakeri for coffee in the morning and it did not disappoint. I ordered an iced latte which was good and prices were comparable to other cafes in the area. They had a delicious-looking baked goods selection. My only (not so positive) note is that it was HOT inside. It seems as though they do not have AC or have very limited AC. There are also not a ton of places to sit so whether or not you will get a seat is a gamble.

my favorite bakery in williamsburg. really sweet homemade pastries, coffee is decent. I love to get soup here in the afternoons. it gets a little too crowded in here but there’s a lovely hidden away backyard with tables. lovely gem of a place.

SO delicious!!! I had a glorious lunch here- rotisserie chicken sandwich, kale grapefruit salad, green smoothie, chocolate chip cookies. Everything was delectable. Fresh ingredients and flavors, beautiful presentation, generous portions. I bake a lot and have a high standard for cookies and bread- these were incredible. Gooey inside, crispy outside, surprising and delicious flavor pairings with the cardamom and hazelnuts. Sandwich bread was just as good as its insides. Great ambiance too- Everyone who works here is warm and authentic, with good recommendations about menu and bakery items. Cool soundtrack, really cute decor inside, great visual texture. Overall really welcoming energy with a lot of personality- customers sharing tables/counters, nice outdoor seating too. Can’t wait to come back 🥰

Wow—delicious drip coffee and a gluten free berry Financier. Neighborhood is young. I see no one above 40 walking the streets or in the cafe. What a cute little delight this place was! Service was awesome and so polite and timely. Food tasted amazing and coffees were a great start to our day! If you are looking for sweet coffees this may not be your spot as they just have simple syrup for lattes, but if you love the rich aroma and flavor of espresso then you’ll be right at home! Seating is limited. But we took a spot out back on the little patio by the koi pond around 11am.

I avoided this place for a while thinking it was just a cookies place. Wrong. It is such a nice coffe shop with cosy ambiance, good matcha latte and great scones (the buttermilk one was done just right and not sweet). They have 4 tables and a lot of wall counter seating.

Delicious cookies. The Lena cookie made with lemon and rosemary herbs.....absolutely incredible. Cappuccino was very good. A good variety of snacks to pick on. Small cute cookies that are extremely delicious. Use caution because they're addictive. Spacious and cozy on a cold day. Oh and the apple bundt cake was soft and was quite flavorful. Highly recommended.

Now, I’m partial to a well-made cookie and there are quite a few good ones along the way, but the thing that got me the most was the decor and the feel of the place. The vibes were homely and definitely made me feel like I went into someone’s home. The co-working space made it feel like a home office. I got to sample some of the amazing cookies as part of the Neighbourhood Eats: Brownstone Brooklyn tour… I hope this makes you jealous enough to visit them. The place is where it’s all at. You need to come in and experience it for yourself. Go check it out for yourself. It’s hands down amazing. If anything, as a Melbournian, I have no qualms in recommending this place!

I stopped in here one morning and tried a few of the small tea cookies & got a hot tea to go. They’re expensive, but the cookies were great! They’re very rich and pair well with a hot beverage. The place was quiet and had a very calm atmosphere with a little bit of seating. There were a number of people working on laptops.

They have cute space hence only one barista. She is nice and welcoming. This is my second time here, ordered flat white and they dont prepare the usual flat, they only prepare latte. It was okay. 🙂 They have a variety of cookies and pastries here also. All in all, it was a fine visit!

We used One Girl Cookies for our wedding to provide a wedding cake + individually wrapped cookies as one of the wedding favors. Most people at our wedding said both were delicious! Couldn't find a good photo of the favors, but included one for the cake.

Oooohhhhhh my god!!!!!! Shoutout to the bakers, I am literally eating heaven!!! My first time trying their pastries, cookies and cake. The vanilla raspberry cake with coconut icing is beyond this world. I have to say they won me over, and I will definitely be going back. They were also so polite in letting me into the store after service hours because I wanted a slice of cake :)) Amazing customer service, and the baked goods are delicious. I never write reviews, but they honestly deserved it. A must try !!!!

Not what it used to be. Maybe my memory betrays me, but this old-fashioned donut is way sweeter and greasier than a few years ago. It’s contrary to Mah-Ze-Dahr’s philosophy of “not too sweet”. I stopped coming here because they never had the old-fashioned donuts whenever I visited—the brioche donuts are not a substitute. I was ecstatic to see it in the display case as it has been years since I had it, but it’s just not the same. Still pretty good though.

Amazing pastry! We loved this bakery. We stopped on our way and did not have high expectations. We took some pastry to go and it was amazing! We tried the traditional donut and brioche and seriously - so good! Highly recommend this bakery!

A very cute Cafe’ with Pastries, Croissants, Cakes and so much more. Very homely and nice ambience and a very kind and responsive staff. We tried Iced Mocha, Latte’, Coffee Cake and more… The coffee cake was really nice, very subtle level of sweetness and flavor. The Mocha was very good as well. If You’re walking about in the area, this is a GREAT place to stop by, grab some coffee and cake, chill.. Definitely recommend a good place to wind down and enjoy something sweet…

Their hospitality is unmatched! We placed an order for coffee and dessert and there was some confusion regarding the coffee order and they didn’t ring us up for it. And when we asked, they just gave it to us on the house despite us offering to pay! After paying for our order, we decided to buy their famous donut.. which they also gave on the house. This kind of service and hospitality are rare and create a strong sense of customer loyalty. Their taste is as hyped but 20/10 marks for warmth and hospitality

Paid $5.17 for a cappuccino that’s not listed on menu. Small cup but nice flavor & aroma. Pastry selection is a bit limited. Looked like most customers came for the coffee. Cozy spot but unfortunately no restroom for an indoor cafe. There is also outdoor seating which appeared quite comfortable under shaded umbrellas. Service was quick with no wait… AVERAGE I say

An absolute gem! We were waiting for our dinner reservation around that area and wanted to grab a quick coffee! The mocha almond croissant (I couldn’t resist it though we had a nice dinner planned for in an hour) was delicious! And the coffee was great too. The staff were super friendly and attentive to everyone walking in. Can’t wait to go back to try their brioche donut!

Tiny but beautiful (and very quirky) women-owned bar/bakery serving up interesting cocktails, boozy shakes and delicious cakes. The S'mores pie was one of the tastiest sweet things I've ever had, and so rich that one slice would be enough for two people. My husband had a chocolate milkshake and then added the booze of his choice and drank every last drop.

I really wanted to love everything here, but alas, it's a hit or miss. The cocktail of the day (which I don't even know what they put in) was delicious. The key lime pie was delicious. The Ms. Yamaguchi cocktail was barely palatable. I actually wanted to throw up after every sip. The tapioca were hard as rocks, I couldn't even chew them. The cakes, both birthday cake and hot line bling... Man, I really wanted to like them especially since my best friend who's also a foodie really hyped them up as the best cake ever, but I couldn't eat more than 2 bites and I'm a big sweets person. Both cakes were really dense. That might be a personal preference thing, but I dislike dense cakes. Might as well call it bread pudding or fudge at that point. =\

Omg. Love the pecan pie. Drinks are way too expensive, well the drink I had. $16 nameshake😣 anyway back to the pecan pie, the best I've ever had.that's my favorite type of pie too. Please try the pecan pie with vanilla ice cream on top. The birthday cake is way too sweet and dense.

Visited yesterday for the first time, although I live about 5 blocks away. Why didn't I know about this place sooner?! I normally go out to Park Slope or Downtown Brooklyn area for my sweet treats. Went to get 3 slices of the birthday cake for myself, my daughter and my sister to tryout...we all loved it! Ended up with a free Unicorn treat, which we all split, and that was good as well. Came here for drinks and dessert to intimately celebrate my birthday with my partner and it exceeded my expectations. Small, cozy and TRENDY! The s'mores pie was yummy and the Birthday cake was delicious. I paired the bday cake with strawberry ice cream and it was THE right choice.

This place is a little bit of heaven. I walked in to pick up a cake for my friend's bday but I wanted to stay and have brunch and a drink at the bar. The bar is so cute and the food looked great too. The Hotline Bling chocolate cake is to die for. It is a chocolate lover's heaven!!

This woman-owned and operated business is AH-MAZING! A very welcome queer space for everyone and a types. The cocktails are ON POINT and change seasonally. Of course, their pies and cakes are TO. DIE. FOR. I've ordered birthday cakes from them, as well as enjoyed at the bar with an accompanying cocktail. Definitely go! Worth it!

This is one of those few Italian bakery’s left in Brooklyn! Love this place everything is so delicious and fresh. You can’t go wrong with anything there. Pastries, cookies, cake and their ice cream are better than you can imagine! The only problem is that if you’re on a diet lol you’re doomed! Oh they even have gluten free and sugar free options!

My favorite spot to buy cookies! Sooo yummy! Cakes, cookies, chocolate and not sweet pies. Super convenient to shop for big occasions or sudden pop up parties. They have all kind of dietary restrictions friendly pastries. Gluten free, sugar free, all other Free you might need to make sure everyone gets beautiful pastry and not get health issues. Pastries galore, glamour, & more… The shelves are stacked with deliciousness from cakes, cookies, breads, & you name it. My mango mousse cake was phenomenal, just as good was the rum cake. I used to live in Long Island and I would travel to Brooklyn just to take home as many sugar free treats as I could from this wonderful bakery. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The atmosphere is pristine. And well their food is to die for. I am currently too far away to be able to go to this bakery but you bet I am currently day dreaming about it. I had a great experience at The Good Batch while I was staying in Brooklyn during a recent trip to New York. I came in around 10am and ordered a cappuccino and a cheese & chive savory scone. The cappuccino was light, flavorful, and had a fluffy foam top. The scone was pretty nice, too. You could taste the cheddar and chives prominently and it was structurally sound, not crumbling to pieces upon biting it. The shop is small but has a handful of seats, and I was comfortable working on my laptop there for about an hour. The atmosphere is light, friendly, and easygoing. Nice baristas who are genuinely happy and eager to chat and share favorites. Before I left I ordered a cold brew to take with me on my long walk to Chinatown. I’m glad I did. It had a good body and was smooth and flavorful. It was the perfect item to carry along to Manhattan on a sunny day.

I got their May special cake for my husband’s birthday and it was DELICIOUS, seriously the perfect choice. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and also the best customer service. Tysm 💖

I go to good batch all the time, and first of all, the people are really solid. Always friendly and willing to talk about the bakes they have available. Solid coffee, great sweet treats. I like their savory scones, basically any cookie (try one of the unique ones!), and the ice cream sandwiches are classic

Wow! I'm so happy I found this place. It is such a cute and comfortable atmosphere. The guy that helped me was very nice. Their selection is wonderful (I went in around 6 or 7 on a Sunday and they had so much goodies left). I got a few items to take to hang out with friends and there wasn't a crumb left after we tried everything. Not a single disappointing thing in the box. The brown butter and Chai cookies really blew my mind. Prices are great considering the excellent quality of everything and the packaging they put they put the items in. Can't wait to go back!

Great service and super friendly staff!! I went in for a matcha but was handed a regular latte. The barista was apologetic and instantly made the new drink, while still letting me keep the other one. The accidental latte was actually the better of the two drinks :)

I got a mixed box of delicious cookies from the Good Batch which were incredibly tasty, freshly baked and weren't too crumbly. My favourite were the chocolate chip ones and I enjoyed heating them up in the microwave slightly so the chocolate melted a little bit 😋 Another time I had a set of cupcakes and they were also really enjoyable with lots of flavor options.

I came in here today, did an order of 4 sugar free rainbow cookies. After she takes them out and packs it the lady tells me only card. That would be nice if she would have to me before or if they had a sign up. I mean I walked all the way here to get my father in law a few cookies for him to have with his dinner.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! The person who packed our order made an EXTREMELY careless mistake and combined both regular AND SUGAR FREE cookies into ONE box! Nothing separated, nothing labeled. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, especially when my husband is a diabetic. I really hope these people understand how careless of a mistake that was and should feel lucky that I caught it before my husband ate something without knowing. I called the bakery to speak with someone, managed to get the person who packed my order and she said they don't separate the cookies "that's not how we do it", which I know is not true because we've gone there plenty of times. The worker said she was sorry "my mistake" and left it at that, dead air on the phone. I asked to speak to a manager, or anyone other than her because she was beyond useless to me, and was told her manager left for the day and no one else was working there until tomorrow morning. She continued to speak with other customers while I tried to get her name and explain how dangerous of a mix up that is when you're dealing with diabetic customers. I was ignored while she helped other customers, but finally got her name which I think I understood as Luciana, and do not plan to go there again. People PLEASE make notes in your order next time to avoid the same issue I encountered. I really hope it's understood how ridiculous of a mistake this was to make.

The carrot cake consists of more icing than cake, the layer of carrot cake ithat is in between the thick layers of icing is tasteless, thin and dry. No taste of carrot cake here, the cake just looks well presented and a waste of time and money and yes it is expensive too.

The cake may look nice but looks can be deceiving. This is by far the worst tasting cake we have ever had in over 35 years. They charge $53 for a weeks old, possibly months old cake. You have to chew this cake like an overdone steak. Please save your hard earned money and avoid this absolute garbage of place that calls itself a “bakery” the entire cake besides the dry brownie portion is complete cheap fondant. All you taste is pure unflavored chewy sugar. The purple is supposed to be raspberry but I think it’s food coloring. Because the entire cake taste like pure trash. Avoid cakes from this place at all cost!!!! I had to go and get another cake from a French place that ended up saving the birthday party.

I like italian cookies, especially the finger ones with filling. I tried Aliotta like a year ago and the cookies were horrible; very stale and had a flavor like someone accidentally sprinkled black pepper in the batter. I thought it was an off occurrence due to the positive reviews but went back to my fave bakery for italian cookies, Michael's Pastry, anyway. Michael's closed earlier this year sadly so I decided to try Aliotta's again and I regret it; the same horrible quality. This time they were even staler with some of their fillings being rock hard. The same pepper taste was also there. I had to toss the cookies. Now that I know this may be a frequent issue, I won't be trying again. The rainbow cookies I also got were ok (not stale but also not much flavor). I will say that a friend of mine has given me slices of cake loaves she gotten from here before and they were good which is why I gave 2 stars and not 1. Overall, I am too concerned about their quality and food safety to risk even getting those from here.

I ordered a butter cream vanilla cake for a children's party. They gave me pineapple cake and wouldn't refund me for the cake. They claimed that they tasted the cake I returned. Tasted it! Lies. It was a pineapple cake. Never again. And they only take cash in 2025 on top of it. Terrible service

Nice bakery to have in the neighborhood! Small spot with bread, coffee, and Italian products. Friendly and helpful staff. 🍪✨✨Chocolate chip cookie was probably my favorite thing from them! It was a thin style with soft and chewy texture and slightly crunchy edge. Taste was well balanced and outstanding. Chocolate croissant was classic, nothing go wrong but not a lot of filling. Sesame long bread was neat as well. Like a sesame-flavored baguette!

This place has great baked goods and some fancy international foodstuffs like pasta, cheese, cured meats and jams. I got a white bread loaf and a jumbo chocolate chip cookie and they were both great. Another day I’ll have to come back and try their croissants, which looked nice and laminated. It’s next to but not connected to the pizzeria - there’s no seating.

Chocolate chip cookie was pretty good. Thin, slight crisp with chew. I don’t love the layout of the bakery though; a narrow area to see what’s in the pastry counter/ check out. I actually left bc it felt too crowded with only like 5 people there and came back when it died down a bit.

I have been coming here for more than a year and I can tell you things are changing, and not in a good way. They used to be my favorite store, and I’ve been trying continue supporting them, but the changes are making it hard. Saraghina is on the pricier side, and it used to be worth it, but I can’t say the same anymore. The Fellini sandwich-they changed their bread. (It’s not worth a quarter of the price tag they put on it anymore. Used to be my go to). The croissants-they started cutting them different, almost as if to put less content between. The customers notice when you change things. We’ve expressed this but you guys keep switching things up. I hope this review will help you realize. Don’t lose more customers. Please take your customers criticism, we’d hate to see you go.

When we searched for the best Almond Croissant in the neighborhood, Saraghina Bakery popped up on the result list. The decor is adorable and narrow-spaced with no indoor seating, only 4 people maximum are allowed at one time. Their options of pastry were limited and we had their Almond Croissant, Scone & a bag of Granola. Everything was amazingly delicious, especially the Almond Croissant . The filling was creamy and the texture was crispy & layered. Their Italian restaurant Saraghina is located right next door and it also looks really popular with great reviews and we would like to give it a try in the near future.

The best focaccia in bed stuy! Would be 5 stars if they didn’t allow dogs inside. Who wants to wait in line for baked goods with a slobbering dog right behind you?

This place was a happy surprise in Brooklyn. We were there in December, but I cannot wait to return. I ordered smoked salmon and eggs Benedict. The entire meal, with a garnish of arugula was mouth watering delicious to the last drop. The pancakes my husband ate were fluffy and filling but not too dense. The price was a little steep but I have no regrets and since it was the holidays made it a present to myself. Not five stars due to the wait, but there were tons of people and few servers. I recommend a better system for takeout and seated dining to correct that. Not mad at all.

Is this business even open? You call days in a row, mailbox not working. You drive by and no such address exists, only a bridal dress shop. What in the actual world?!? All social media active, but they went out of business? Update the site!!!

Great dessert place with a lot of options. If you can’t find a dessert you like here, then it doesn’t exist. They have tons to choose from. We were a party of 4 people and went later in the evening. It wasn’t that crowded and we were seated immediately. The service was a little slow. The table wasn’t clean and needed to be wiped down. Once we received our desserts, it was as if they completely forgot about us. I had to flag down a server so we could pay and leave. The desserts were great! We tried the tres leche cake, Black Forest cake, brookie, and apple pie cheesecake. My favorite was the brookie. It was served warm with whipped cream. I would definitely go here again but hope the service is better.

So it’s my birthday weekend and I was so excited to go to Martha’s because everyone keeps ranting by and raving about it. I have had some of their goodies but never been there in person. My friends took me as a surprise. Walked up to esthetically pleasing place ready to take pics and enjoy the ambiance. It has a plethora of amazing treats and sweets it’s all about pleasure here. The room at the time was empty. My little group of theee asked if we can be seated in a booth like seating or towards the back. We got a strong “no” and the two young lady’s facial expressions changed. Now it’s a gentrified Brooklyn here so it’s a mixture of races etc in the area but my friends and family are all looking at each other. The two hosts (I guess) are now talking in Spanish. My family speaks Spanish so I asked in “Spanish 🙏🏾 “. They said it’s reserved for larger groups. We respectfully accepted it and say we’re placed in the front. Couldn’t help but notice all the black people were seated upfront and even a bigger group than ours so we said to ourselves shouldn’t they be seated further they’re all squished together in the corner. We couldn’t help but take notice that white couples sat where we requested.. hmmpph interesting huh. Not a surprise for this neighborhood. Most play it off but this was interesting. Anyway. My server Grace did a great job at being hospitable so I stayed. The pastries and desserts were amazing. You gotta try their Red Velvet Hot Chocolate. So much to love about Martha’s. They even have a DJ for late night “turn ups”. The music was good, the decor and everything will make your taste buds dance along with the playlist. Wish things were a little different but Grace made up for stuff. She even got me a cupcake for my birthday that I thoroughly enjoyed. Despite everything I would recommend this spot. Breakfast, brunch or even late night. FYI - Vegan options also available and it’s wheelchair accessible.

Wow — this place is a real bakery! I visited early in the morning as one of the first customers, and I could see freshly made breads being delivered out to other locations — it gave me a lot of trust in their quality. Every pastry looked amazing and was filled generously for the price. I ordered the blueberry pie, and it was packed with real blueberries — not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. You can tell this bakery takes pride in doing things honestly and with care. So many delicious pastries to choose from — I highly recommend this place!

With so many options to choose from on the menu, it can be overwhelming but I appreciated how knowledgable he was. This family friendly bakery in the neighborhood is a truly a gem. It literally makes my day just thinking about the aroma of freshly baked goods and coffee from Martha’s. The staff is very meticulous when it comes to detail because everything is perfectly labeled. Must get the Berry Napoleon, Raspberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Nutella Cookie, & their cupcakes. It is very spacious with tons of seating inside - this is definitely a plus. It's become my go-to spot for when I’m craving a treat or need a delicious cake for an upcoming celebration! Will be back soon to try out more desserts.

I first went to Martha’s Country Bakery on a solo trip in July 2023 and had to bring my family back on our holiday in September 2025. The selection of cakes, pastries, and pies is fantastic. We had the chocolate layer cake and carrot cake, with a Mexican hot chocolate, and Pineapple, Mango and Banana smoothie — all were amazing!! The service was excellent; a massive thank you to our server Ela, who was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I look forward to going back to Matha’s Country Bakery the next time I am in New York. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting NY.

Super friendly and genuine, making you feel like a regular even on a quick stop. From custom cakes for special occasions to everyday treats like pies and pastries, everything tastes homemade without the fuss. Prices are fair for Brooklyn, and the cozy atmosphere keeps me coming back. If you're in the neighborhood, skip the chains—Martha's nails that authentic bakery charm every time. Highly recommend!

Tons of choices! I choose flan but it’s texture is more like cheesecake, too dense. It’s not bad but it’s not flan for me. Mango gelato is good, the size of the eclair is big. The chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is served warmed.

The line was definitely cray, but the ice cream was absolutely delicious and I instantly forgot about the wait upon my first spoonful! We tried the oolong white peach, the Hennessy flavor, the bourbon flavor, and two other flavors and everyone one of us immediately has a smile of delight after trying them. And the scoop sizes were actually pretty big (I'm glad I only got a single). Definitely a great stop for dessert!

Be prepared to wait in line to order and then wait some more to get your ice cream. Best to come here on a weekday. Came here on separate occasions and tried their lavender latte (not pictured), Vietnamese coffee (not pictured), raw milk, durian banana, burnt honey vanilla, and vanilla passion fruit. My favorite of the six was the burnt honey vanilla. Overall good flavors and really crispy waffle cone but would not wait in line for more than 20-30min to order, the ice cream is solid but at some point your time is more valuable Update: came back during an off peak time and tried the pineapple salted egg yolk, this has to be my favorite flavor. The bottom is strawberry yuzu.

Good ice cream, tried two flavours: hibiscus strawberry and pineapple egg yolk. They were good… but not that good. Pineapple one was too sweet, I got a bit sick of it at the end. Hibiscus strawberry was a bit artificial / icey. No samples, one flavour per scoop. Slow service and long line. Maybe we missed the mark on ordering the right flavors, but it was a sup-par scoop for me.

I would not call this New York City's best artisanal ice cream, but it is pretty good. Especially if you don't mind long lines, employees that don't seem to enjoy their work and probably the highest prices in the city. Note: They offer several types of vanilla, but refuse to provide samples for those of us unfamiliar with the complete product line.

Only one flavour in a small is so cruel. And I have no respect for such behaviours. However… this ice cream slaps. It’s so good. The pineapple salted egg yolk is unreal. Top 5 ice creams I’ve had. The vegan coconut purple rice is really good. I love the fun flavours. So like ya… it’s really good. Earns its pretentious vibes I guess. And the scoops are perfectly round. Like perfect. The menu is long, overwhelming, and confusing. They group by dominant flavour (ie which fruit is in it), and there’s like a million flavours. Be ready to order when you get to the front of the line. There’s always a line. It moves pretty fast.

The chill hits early—proud signage boasts a “no samples” policy, which is almost as unwelcoming as their rigid “no substitutions” rule. For $14, this sundae was more snowflake than snowstorm—small, underwhelming, and overpriced. Craving a shake? Don’t bother. Most of the machines were frozen in disrepair—three completely out of order, and another clearly limping toward a breakdown. Even the bathroom had thrown in the towel, out of service and as inaccessible as customer flexibility. One has to wonder: how do you serve the public in summer heat without a working restroom? Maybe all those “sample savings” should go toward defrosting basic operations. With warmer, friendlier dessert spots just steps away, this one’s an easy cold shoulder.

Easily one of the best traditional ice cream shops in Manhattan. But they also have the non traditional flavors. For those experimental, I highly recommend the salted egg pineapple (it’s giving Asian mooncake vibes) or the durian (mind blown).

EDIT: the Win Son Bakery team responded pretty quickly when I tagged them on socials about the issue I initially posted below. They were actually very kind and rather quick about it (responded same day). They moved just as fast during the refund process (issued it within the same hour I filed my info on a claim). Of course ideally the mix up wouldn’t happen in the first place but their customer service was pretty great after the fact. - I’ve gone to this place a few times and the food is always good and service is usually great but today I had a small off experience. I had gotten up to grab a to go box for the rest of my food. I had maybe been gone literally like 40 seconds and when I came back someone had thrown all the food out. I suppose I could have asked the girls next to me to watch it just in case but I felt like there was a decent amount of food left and one item I wasn’t even really touched (I took one bite of it) and it was thrown out. I think what bothered me the most though was the server who threw it out realized when I was standing there with a new to go box kind of confused and bummed and there wasn’t really an acknowledgement that it was a mistake. He just kind of said “oh I’ll take that,” grabbed my box, and threw that out too…. weird encounter and wasn’t really pleasant. I’m bummed because I paid full price for a food item I didn’t get to really eat and wanted to save for later and it ended up in the garbage.

I stopped by Win Son for brunch. The line was long, but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the fried chicken box and it was really good! Well-seasoned, crispy and juicy. I would recommend this place located in the hip neighborhood of Bushwick on Graham Ave. Outdoor seating is also available.

Win Son Bakery is a true gem in Brooklyn!! everything I've tried has been so good, but I have to give a special shoutout to their BEC scallion pancakes. The pork is insanely flavorful and tender, and the scallion pancake sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese? A total game-changer. Crispy, savory, satisfying... I could eat it every day. Their menu is creative with bold flavors. Everything is made with care and intention you can really taste it. If you're in Brooklyn and craving something unique and delicious, Win Son Bakery is a must. Trust me go hungry!

this was a bit disappointing, especially with how many good things I've heard about it. I didn't dislike the food at all, it wasn't bad, but I also didn't love it either. the thing is: none of the places I went to in New York have been BAD, but this is one of the places that I won't be going back to. even if I was super craving Taiwanese food, I don't think this place properly satisfies that itch. maybe for people who've never had Taiwanese food before?

This review is about sustainability! ☺️ By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Which is why I so appreciate, that in this waterfront city, you choose to offer your customers the dignity of real silverware, ceramic mugs, and glasses for water. I love to support businesses that are mindful of our impact on the environment, locally and globally. So thank you for setting an example of how a café can operate sustainably. I hope more local spots follow suit! And of course, delicious food and a perfect cappuccino.

So fun and tasty I came here twice during my short 3 day stay in Brooklyn. Playful Chinese-fusion bakery treats. Get the pancake wraps. Other overlooked items are the soymilk (with dough sticks to dip in) and asian salads Trrated myself with a red rice donut too.

A modern and innovative bakery with strong potential to keep growing. Order: Scallion pancake cheese and egg, mochi donut, fan taun, nian ago sesame fig, jasmine lavender milk tea, latte = $53~ The scallion pancake and mochi donut I've seen meet viral status on social media, for the amount of hype it's received Id say it's more the innovation behind it that's appealing than the taste. Nothing extraordinarily groundbreaking but it's an interesting refreshing twist to try. Same goes to the humble fan taun. What my friend and I mutually agreed is absolutely delicious is the seasonal nian gao fig pastry. Nian gao batter, layered with creamy custard, fig jam and topped with smooth mascoropone cream and figs - WOW. You don't have to be a sweet tooth to enjoy this, you just need to love yourself enough to treat yourself with this. Kudos to the pastry chef. The drinks itself was fine but I felt the food does the storytelling here. I'd revisit to give the menu another shot out of curiosity. This place is for those who want to broaden their taste palette.

Absolute vegan heaven. I literally can’t believe that everything is vegan here. The range is expansive, there’s an entire case devoted to GF options and ‘day-olds’ sell for $1.50. The staff are calm and helpful, even when it’s busy!

I wish I could like this place, since it's all vegan, but I just can't. The laminated pastries they sell are just awful. As far as I can tell, they don't bake on-site and seem to source them from the same place that Le Petit Monstre does (also awful). They are flavorless, dry, and the layers are always congealed. They are not soft and flaky like they should be, but rather thick, chewy and gross in texture. You can see this failed layering in the photos. This croissant also horrible lopsided. This time, I got a pistachio croissant and paid a whopping $8. There was barely any pistachio filling. It at least tasted ok, but had a bad texture. Where I had hoped for a pureed pistachio butter-like texture, I instead got chunky, sweet paste. The service was perfectly fine, and they do have a bathroom for customers.

Clementine Bakery is as Brooklyn as it gets—vegan and of course, one must have avocado toast! The outdoor seating is nice, but it can get a bit hectic, especially when there are more people than the staff can handle. Unfortunately, that meant tables weren’t cleaned promptly after customers left, which was a bit of a downside. It’s definitely a spot where people like to bring their laptops and hang out for a while. On the bright side, they offer a good variety of food, and overall, it’s a nice place to grab a bite if you’re in the neighborhood.

I’ve been a loyal customer for over five years, especially because their vegan and gluten-free cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The quality, care, and consistency kept me coming back. That’s why it’s incredibly disappointing to learn that the current owner, Earthly Eats LLC, is refusing to meet long-standing employees’ requests for fair wages and basic accommodations. These are the very people who helped build this bakery’s reputation and made it such a beloved part of the community. The recent changes to the website reflect a broader shift—less warmth, more generic branding. Sadly, it seems the business has lost sight of what made it special in the first place. I truly hope the owners reconsider their priorities and start supporting the people who made this place what it was. Until then, I can’t in good faith continue to support it.

My son recommended this place for us, he rates this bakery for GF and vegan choices. My wife and I tried this, were very pleased with the service, choices and taste. There are places indoor to eat, since my son lives near here and frequents here, that's a great recommendation.

Nice to have an all-vegan cafe with lots of breakfast and lunch options and a huge selection of baked goods. Just order wisely. I had only come here once before (in 2017) and was ambivalent then. I returned and I’m still ambivalent. I ordered poorly: the breakfast burrito was plain with a tofu scramble that anyone could replicate at home in a wrap (although the vegan bacon bites were distinct); it was cut in half and fell apart. But I was hungry and wanted something healthy and nourishing. At $15 it seemed overpriced for what I got. The almond croissant was also a mistake— big and crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. It didn’t taste like almond and I couldn’t tell if it was gooey because it had some (non-almond) spread or because it was very undercooked. The inside of the cafe also has a beautiful little market with bulk soaps and other nice things like candles to purchase. I’ll be back to try other things on their menu.

There was also a pastry with a fruity filling that reminded me of the best kind of croissant with a jam surprise inside—I’m pretty sure it was cherry or some kind of berry, and it was heavenly. And then, tucked away in the bag, was a chocolate croissant or puff pastry dusted with powdered sugar that was both rich and decadent without being too heavy. For just $5, I got a mix of flavors and textures that totally hit the spot. Honestly, I’m still amazed at the quality and variety for such a great price. Clementine Bakery isn’t just a place to grab food; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must-go, especially if you’re into vegetarian cuisine or looking for a cozy spot to treat yourself. Plus, you’ll be doing a good deed by reducing food waste! I can’t recommend it enough.
