The feeling I had was that all the dishes had the same seasoning, some dishes were spicier than others. The meats were tasty, but it was hard to tell the difference between the flavor and the type of meat you were eating, because the spicy seasonings were quite noticeable. We also ordered vegetables and they were extremely spicy, after the first bite I couldn't eat any more. The famous mango drink disappointed me, it looks like a thick frozen mango smoothie with yogurt, it doesn't have much flavor. Overall it's an interesting experience if you're curious about Indian cuisine.

We made the reservation in advance and got discount for early dinner. Ambience is nice. At first everything was okay. Veg starters platter can be improved(ism’t value for money). Didn’t like the cocktails also, rest of the food was okay. Then we ordered desserts and even after half an hour nobody returned with our order, then we asked about and only then thry came back saying they dont have it. So you didnt bother to inform us when order is placed, kept us waiting gor 30 mins and they didnt even apologized and were kind of rude.

For starters we had samosa and chicken which were good. For the main course we had the paneer kofta and veg kurma. The curry's are extremely sweet, and not authentic to the Indian taste. The dessert (paneer cheesecake) was okish, nothing special about it. The place has a good ambience though.

We had Indian food delivered to our home, we love their restaurant and at,atmosphere its really cozy. This time with 2 elderly ladies 88 year young (they love Indian food)we decided to eat in the comfort of our home. The vindaloo was hot as it should be, but not too, the meat was tender. The butter-chicken was nicely flavoured, creamy its my fav dish. Kerala prawn sour and sweet with lovely coconut taste. The mixed is also one not to be missed…actually i only saw smiling faces at the table. What i do like about ordering in through their website they always add some extra a mango lassie in pur case. I love it. Btw 91 species is the only place i took my Indian colleagues ( and the loved it as well) to but for the food and the vibe in the restaurant.

The ambience and location are excellent. The food was average, and the menu variety could be improved. The service was very slow and disappointing (for example, the dessert took more than 30 minutes to arrive as the staff seemed to have forgotten about it). It seems the number of staff is simply not enough to serve a restaurant of this size. I strongly urge the owners to look into these aspects.

Stopped by on a Monday evening. We were welcomed with a complementary papadum w/ (1) mint dip & (2) mango dip. The papadum was tasty. We did not like the mint and mango dips. You order your food & beverages through a tablet. You also use the tablet to ask for extra cutlery or the bill. We ordered the mixed meat platter to share. The mixed meat platter includes: 2x samosa, 2x onion bhaji, 2x half a chicken sheekh kebab, 2x half a lamb sheekh kebab and 4x chicken wings. The samosa was tasty. The onion bhaji was tasty too, but arrived cold. The meat (sheekh kebabs and chicken wings) were not warm. It was as if they had been plated in advance. The sheekh kebabs were seasoned well. The lamb sheekh kebab was quite spicy. Our mains were the lamb rogan josh (light spicy), the lamb madras (medium spicy) and the bread basket. The lamb in the curry was boneless mutton. Lamb is quite tender. Mutton is much tougher in comparison. Both curries were tasty. The rogan josh tasted more earthy. The madras tasted more tangy. The bread basket includes a variety of bread. 3 breads chosen by the chef. Our breads were (1) aloo paratha, (2) butter naan and (3) garlic naan. The aloo paratha was quite spicy. I did not like it, but my partner did. The butter naan was my favourite. It was thin and crispy and slathered in butter. Service could have been better. The servers were not that attentive. We asked for extra serviettes twice and they only brought them over when we no longer needed them. (When they arrived, we had finished our meal and already washed our hands in the bathroom.) We accidentally ordered 2 bread baskets and immediately rectified it. Server 1 communicated it to the kitchen. And, server 2 amended our order in their system. But, when server 3 brought us the bill, we were still charged for 2 bread baskets - even though we had only had 1. The bathroom was clean, but very dark. I would not order the mixed meat platter again. Mostly because it arrived lukewarm. I would order their curry again. Not one of the best curries I have ever had, but definitely not one of the worst. My current favourite curry by this restaurant is the butter chicken. __________ Old review ⬇️ Ordered the mango lassie, samosa and butter chicken via Uber Eats. The food was supposed to be delivered between 4.45 and 5.00. And, it arrived (> 1 hr later) at 6.05. When the food arrived, the samosa and butter chicken had cooled down. I had to pop both in the microwave for a couple of minutes. The butter chicken was very good. I did not enjoy the samosa and mango lassie. If you order via Uber Eats, please bear in mind that they take a very long time to deliver your food. (I ordered my food at 4.00 and it did not arrive until after 6.00.) And, they do not update the tracker (estimated time of delivery) on the Uber Eats app. __________ Old review ⬇️ Ordered the butter chicken. Rice was included. The butter chicken was very tasty. The chicken was soft and tender. However, my curry also had a lot of chicken skin, bones and cartilage - which I did not like. If you are picking up a takeaway, do not use the main entrance (which leads to the restaurant). Instead take the same door as the delivery men.

Waited 45 Mins to be seated although we had a reservation and were told it would “only take 2 Mins”. After that we waited 90 Mins for our food. They also forgot to set the table and the drinks arrived after we finished the food. People around us also kept complaining and waiters and managers constantly had to go to each table to apologize. Food was good but also way too expensive. Overall it was very disappointing because it was a well received restaurant in the city center that has great potential with its ambiance and food. What was that?

Fresh and tasty sushi with a nice presentation. The food came out quickly. I enjoyed the tender salmon in the sashimi salad. The deep-fried rolls were delicious, but a bit too thick, they’d be easier to eat if they were cut slimmer. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Overall, a good dining experience.

The sushi arrived very quickly, but unfortunately, it didn’t taste good and was poorly rolled, falling apart easily. The only dishes that were actually enjoyable were the grilled items. The restaurant wasn’t busy, yet the service was disappointing and not attentive. Overall, not worth coming back.

Pretty good all you can eat sushi in Rotterdam. We took the lunch menu and got 5 rounds with 5 items each per round, though we didn’t end up finishing the last round because we were too full. All our orders came out very quick, the nigiri was very fresh. The service was okay, not very attentive but quick. Really enjoyed all the rolls and nigiris, but the grilled salmon was also very well done. Overall, would recommend if you’re willing to splurge for lunch.

Food was so nice! Came out quick too and freshly made. We ordered 5 dishes each and didn't realise we had 5 more rounds, but were quite satisfied, we just had it confirmed when we picked up the bill that we barely ate, so they just charged as for the dishes individually, which was a bit cheaper. Service was excellent. Staff were super friendly. The decor and ambience was nice. Classy but in a more fun kind of way. The food menu was extensive. I done even like sushi, but there was soo much more to try I didn't feel limited at all. And the food was chefs kiss! Definitely recommended!

Not convincing… Nice atmosphere & decoration. But, very average food - rice could be better & overall using a lot of sauces and dips. Service was absolutely underwhelming!! Waiting for quite some time to get the menu, zero smiles, waiter could not give any recommendations, no wasabi & ginger with the sushi, not attentive at all. There were many staff people, but all gave a very good atmosphere. They might appear Asian, but unfortunately the behavior was not Asian at all…

As a Rotterdam tour guide I was happily surprised by this all-vegan lunchroom in the city center. The food was pretty good, fairly priced and that staff was kind as well. Though, I am strongly against the trend where the menus are English only (so not in native Dutch). My nephews needed translation help, while they're in their home city. Which is ridiculous in my opinion..

Came here for breakfast but didn’t realise it was a vegan place. The options are good and the coffee is good. Service is friendly and prices are reasonable as well. The space is nicely decorated and quiet. A good spot to come to if you need a vegan place. There are a variety of options that can satisfy everyone’s preferences. Overall a good experience and would recommend.

Awesome place for vegan food my family was impressed! The staff was really friendly and helpful. Even though there was only one chef we were informed that service will be a bit slower so communication was present. Chef smashed it with the food, it was incredible and flavourful

This rustic looking restaurant serves very nice vegan vegetarian food. I loved their toast with avocado n carrot cake. Service was excellent. The waiteress was very attentive and prompt.

The food is okay, quite bland. Added a lot of salt, pepper, olive oil, and even balsamic vinegar to give it a kick. The bruschetta is standard, the bread is nicely toasted. The buratta was also fine, nothing special. The papardelle with deer were cooked very nicely al denté, but the flavor was lacking. The pasta with sausage was also very bland. Pana cotta was a bit too soft in texture and the caramel sauce gave it a stroopwafel taste, so if you like sweet things then it's nice. The canoli was fresh, it tasted good! The drinks are good. Overall for a place that specializes in pasta you'd expect more flavor, but maybe we have to try another one of the dishes. The pasta does come with nice warm bread which goes well with the olive oil, and the portions are a good size. (with appetizer, main and dessert I was full, if you just get the pasta you might still be hungry)

This place is the famous place in Rotterdam, especially if you want to hangout while enjoying delicious pasta. I really loved their service. They welcomed me very well even though I only came alone. It didn’t take too much time for them to serve the spaghetti. I ordered Aglio e olio since it was one of the two only menus without pork and alcohol. The spaghetti tasted good, but I needed to add some salt and pepper on my dish. I really liked the ambience. It was not too crowded when I went there, so I could enjoy the pasta while reading my book. It was getting more crowded at the late night, tho. This could be an option if you visited Rotterdam.

Well put together restaurant. The food is truly authentic Italian food, with such a rich diversity of flavours in their dishes. The drinks are also very nice. Affordable for such good quality and filling portions of food. The service is always good here, as the waiters and waitresses are very willing to help you and kind. I highly recommend it for couples, groups of friends or family and even solo. The window view is my favourite spot, great for solo or couples.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Really like the concept of the large tables for ad hoc socializing. And I like the simple menu with only a few choices. Prices were decent and the service was great. We were sitting beneath a photo of Claudia Cardinale and this morning I heard she passed away tonight. That’s a bit of a weird coincidence and sad note I guess, good that’s she is remembered here I suppose.

Had high hopes before coming here. Sadly, it did not live up to the expectations. Of course, taste differs. The food looks good. The taste is just ok. Indonesian with a twist. The chicken satay was good. The cocktails were good as well. The other dishes were not that great. Shared dining concept, so small amounts on the plates. It's a nice concept, but it was quite expensive for the amount that you're getting (and the quality). Staff is friendly, but wasn't that fast. Might be because they may be understaffed, perhaps.

Great indonesian go-to dishes and killer cocktails. The indo-fried chicken was my favorite dish. The Rhubarbarino my favorite cocktail. But wanna try them all ofcourse! Quirky yet fun staff and a lovely atmosphere. Good vibes only ❤️ Will come back.

Such a nice place in this off-beat area of the city. Service, cocktails and snacks are very enjoyable as well as the relaxed outdoor space they created. I definitely want to go back to try their food menu.

My first experience with the indonesian food and it was way better than I could imagine. We started with Rendang kroketjes and Lemper, so tasty, but the best part is definitely Sate, both pork and chicken. So tender, full of flavour. Cocktails match the food perfectly. The ambiance is cosy and the staff are cheerful and helpful. Unique experience.

Stumbled upon the Calaboose as we were going for a walk by Kralingse Bos, lake and forest nearby. Ordered a tasty vegetarian mixed meal for two people, served with delicious jackfruit and tempeh, along with various greens and rice. Was a truly lovely meal, drinks were great too. Staff were welcoming and friendly, the restaurant was a quirky, charming place with a nice outdoor dining area. Highly recommended!

Super nice bar/restaurant in Kralingen. Their terrace is very nice, the restaurant inside is well decorated and the cocktails and food are delicious. Highly recommend and will visit again

I would give 10 stars if i could! The service was amazing, the waitress were very friendly, learned something new about mezcal and the vibe was just intimate and enjoyable! The food was delicious even glorious! We had 3 rounds of shared dining, the ayam goreng, rendang, and sate ayam were my top 3 favorites! Next time, i would like to try the sate udang yummm!

We were in the Witte district looking for dinner, and lucky we found this spot after a long day out! The scallops and butterfish were fantastic, and the staff helped ensure each dish was paced nicely. Hartig had a cozy atmosphere with fun decor and friendly staff. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for classic food done well and a nice relaxing dinner!!

Very disappointing meal. We told our server that my companion could not have garlic or onion and were assured that would be fine. The companion style dining sounds great in theory, but it means that everyone has to choose food that everyone else can eat. My companion ordered the beef tips. It had been marinated in garlic and he wouldn't eat any of it. We were sitting there with one plate of beef tips between us, that he couldn't touch. For some reason, it was served with raw, undressed spinach. So we waited for more food to arrive. Eventually we got my pork belly which he could eat, so we shared that. Still waiting for our potatoes. I sent back the now cold and greasy beef to get heated up. And waited. And waited, while the servers managed never to look at us. I was seriously considering eating a protein bar. I'd say it was an hour later when we got fresh beef tips. Other people seemed to be happy with their meal, but I won't be back.

Fantastic food prepared to perfection! It’s all supposed supposed to be shared family style do order several things. The Spinach in filo dough was very good, as were the beef medallions and so were the scallops and the sea bass. They stop serving food at 9:30 so be sure to get before then.

Conclusion: it's okay but not worth the price. Taste: average taste and good presentation. However, not specially good. Ordered different dishes and none of them really got us hooked. The food was good, and unlike many tapas restaurants, the plates arrive sequentially instead of having the entire table piled with food all at once. We liked the format very much! The portions are also larger than some other tapas places. We had beet carpaccio, phyllo spinach, beef tips, sea bass, chocolat moelleux and citroen mascarpone. All were excellent.

A mixed experience at this Vapiano location. The wheat based pesto pasta was good but the wheat based pasta with cream sauce was not that great. The bruschetta was really good but the garlic bread was not that great. Overall a decent experience but could have been much better. The staff though is very friendly and helpful.

It was a really great experience, and we will definitely be going back. We ordered through the QR code provided, paid using the same QR code, and received everything without any delays. Absolutely awesome. I highly recommend it. The food and drinks were delicious, and the prices were reasonable—nothing above normal rates.

At the first glimpse looks lovely place to have your lunch. Unfortunately, glasses were dirty while serving soft drink, I have to say it have been changed after asking. It's rather cold here too. Well food.. Definatelly not Italian or even Italian style. Have tried many Italian dishes in my life and would say this one was the most memorable, and not in a good way. Definitely would suggest not to come and not to ruin your mood while visiting Rotterdam.

Not that Italian food, a good amount of pasta but overcooked. You order through QR on the table, but the app doesn’t give you the option to remove the Parmesan that in some pasta, specially the one with fish, it’s not the ideal.

I found it incredibly difficult to order takeout here. It took two trips to find someone at the takeout counter (if it hadn’t have been pouring rain I would have skipped this place). The restaurant was crowded and loud and the food mediocre.

Good and easy food. Nice people working there. Well decorated. Clean toilets. I find the drinks overpriced (coke zero 4.95 for 33cl = a can of cola). And drinks take a while to arrive, but we were in no rush. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for an easy, tasty bite.

On my last day in Rotterdam, early summer, I wanted to eat in the Markthal and I went to this Greek restaurant where some dishes were present outside as well as the menu. The atmosphere and the employees, friendly, not too many people this Wednesday lunchtime, 2 glasses of red accompanying my meal.

Very nice location, enjoyed outdoor seating. Chosen because had healthy options on menu. Also had Mint tea. Will return.

Really big portions that you can share. Make a booking as they get very busy. Service is friendly and welcoming. Meat platters are hearty and have various types of meat: lamb, beef etc as well as seafood, salad, and fries. Very well priced. Tip be recommended.

Came here via a social deal that offered a 2 course diner. I had meatballs which were u fortunately a bit on the dry side and not very warm, but my friend had something like apiced rice rolled in wineleaves, which was delicious. Our main was the same: a meat platter. With a generous portion of meat. The serving platter looked like that of a fastfood restaurant but the content was better. Meat was tender and not dry. Fries on the otherhand were a bit on the cold side and there was no sauce to dip them in to our surprise.

This restaurant is located in the Markthal and has two floors! The first floor is very cosy and cute, and the second floor is more spacious. The service is great! And they have many options on the menucard. I had a very pleasant dinner here, and starter and main dish came out very quick! I will definetely came back here, to try more out!

It’s a good place for lunch and the traditional Greek dishes are delicious. The gyros was authentic, very tasty. The club sandwich was better in looks than in taste but I think the bread was a bit too toasted and had come out a bit dry, apart from that it was very good. All veggies were also fresh and rich in taste. Location is central and easy to find. I found the atmosphere quite underwhelming - typical Greek restaurants have a great vibe and are full of life, this one seemed a bit dull. Service is friendly and fast compared to the average Dutch restaurant. Overall, an enjoyable place with generous dishes and very good prices.

Not bad and service was fine. Room was very loud and large group overwhelmed the rest and conversation was hard. Food was alright although a bit on the dry side when it came to the meat. Ingredients were fresh and portions large.

Cute small shop and very friendly owners. They were super happy and cheerful. This time I only ordered the BBQ pork banh mi, but next time I will try their pho. It was delicious, but missing some more coriander and sour veggies. The pork was a good taste!

With over a 1.000 reviews with a 4.4 average we thought this place is a hidden gem. But what a disappointment... The pho is was bland and very little meat. The broth has nothing to do with a good pho... I've had amazing pho in Vietnam and know how to cook it myself... And honestly I'll do this a lot better. The bun was also very much below average, it was bland and virtually only noodles and meat, the sauce with the bun had virtually no flavor. The bahmi honestly the bread was nice, meat filling OK, but where are the pickles, where is the liver pate and where is the mayonnaise? Also no spice whatsoever in it. The home made lemonade was just sweet, no sourness l. Friendly people but what a disappointment in food. This is not like food in Vietnam.

To be fair the food was really not that good to visit again. Pho was not so strong in flavor, fresh herbs, meat were homemade. The yellow rice with stir fry vegetable and chicken was bad. A lot of sauce for the stir fry and meat was from the microwave.

The food is amazing and super affordable! I tried all four Pho soups they have and they are all good. The personel is very kind and the service quick and friendly. Love this place, I can recommend it!

If you’re in Rotterdam, you’ll find plenty of Vietnamese restaurants, but Pho Hanoi truly stands out! Their pho bo soup, broodje, shrimp tempura and you can not miss for entry Their Dim sum.The service is friendly and fast, and while the place has a simple vibe, it’s perfect for a relaxed meal. There are two entrances, and you can sit outside on both sides, ideal for summer days! Prices are very reasonable and affordable. Honestly, this might just become my favorite go-to spot in the city!

I love the calming atmosphere at the restaurant, filled with the aroma of Asian food. I had the stirred fried vegetables and chicken curry and the orange bubble tea. Both going above my expectations! Would definitely visit this excellent restaurant again!

Second time we visit What's Up India, and second time we really, really enjoyed a delicious diner. Very nice flavors, very good spicy chicken and lamb dishes. We're sure a third time will come soon. But there's one thing that's rather strange, they served the starters at the same time as the main course. That's nor relaxed enjoying the starter because of the main course getting cold in the meantime. Next time please some time between start and main. But overall, one of the best Indian restaurants in Rotterdam.

We decided to give it a shot as we ended the city walk by the canal and found it Rated 4.6 on Google. The waitress and owner are friendly and the English menu was very helpful. The food is standard Indian, nothing wrong and nothing outstanding. We ordered typical lamb curry, chicken biryani, fish tikk, dal soup, garlic roti and mango lassi. All turned out to be reasonable.

From start to finish this has been the best Indian restaurant we have been to in the Netherlands and we have been looking for 4 years. We reserved online as it’s quite a busy place we heard . And they even printed of our name on the table which looked very professional. It was cozy when we entered as it’s getting colder now. Fancy set up with the lights. The servers was funny and engaging and polite. All of the dishes we had were delicious okra especially the paneer tikka starter, the other really enjoyed even the batter or the onion bhaji ( which is like a deconstructed version here) . The mains we had were , a lamb, chicken , a yellow Dahl and a veggie option. All delicious. Especially the lamb which can be a hit or miss and too oiled. None of the food was too oiled or fatty. Good quality meats. We will be back for certain! (One tip: improve the pornstar martini).

You’re required to make a reservation even if the restaurant is completely empty, which felt unnecessary. The ambience is very Turkish — it genuinely looks like it was lifted straight from Turkey. As for the food, the naan and paneer tikka masala were underwhelming, but the biryani and fried rice were absolutely delicious. The mango lassi, however, was terrible. Overall, it’s quite pricey, and the owner could definitely be a bit more courteous.

Had a boozy lassi, butter chicken, cheese naan and basmati rice, everything was really tasty and service was very good, but I’m giving it 4 stars because I think 40 euros for the whole meal is a liiittle pricey. I recommend going with more people so you can share (a single portion of basmati rice can easily be split between 3-4 people), I went by myself so maybe that’s why I feel it was pricey. Anyways, overall I recommend it; apparently is one of the best places to get Indian here in Rotterdam (according to a local)

Very excellent Indian restaurant serving absolutely authentic Indian food. The lamb Briyani was my highlight this evening. A tad pricey, but therefore you enjoy the quality and authenticity. Reservation highly recommended.

Blown away by the amazing food. Never ever had such good Indian cuisine! For sure I will come back and take my whole family. The owner joked about the boozy mango lasso being a spiritual experience… Well quess what: all the food is a spiritual experience! I think I went to Nirvana for a moment and now I have to live back on earth with the knowledge that there is this AMAZING restaurant an hour away from my home 🙏🙏🙏. SEE YOU SOON

A colleague of mine recommended this restaurant and he said it was his favorite restaurant and to get the Bistecca. We came here 10 minutes after opening, half of the tables were already taken so very popular restaurant. We ordered the Bistecca (roast beef rib, parmesan cheese, truffle mayonnaise) and the Guliano (Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, parmesan cheese and sun-dried tomatoes). Both sandwiches were really good but you cannot beat the Bistecca, that is their number one sandwich for a reason. Amazing meat, bread and truffle mayo. Servers were nice as well!

I like the salad. Tasty and fresh. Cozy atmosphere😍😍 I enjoyed my time here! They didn’t have this salad on the menu but when I asked them, they said will bring it for me based on the previouse menu they had. Which was a nice attitude!

Lovely place to go for lunch. There is no option to reserve up front, however if there is a line (which is almost always) you have to spend 10-20 mins waiting while you can watch all the deliciousness being made. Food is just awesome, good portions for affordable prices. Spend 32€ for 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks.

We definitely love eating at Guliano!!! The staff, the atmosphere, the vibe, everything is so good, and most importantly, the food! The sandwiches and salad we ordered were perfect!! It was lunch on new year's eve, there was still a queue at 2pm but I could imagine why! The experience was just so nice! 😚 We were very hungry (and greedy🤪) so we ordered 3 dishes for 2 people 🙉 but just to guarantee you two dishes are actually also enough! Price per person as indicated is only 1 dish and a drink per person. We had 3 dishes and 3 drinks in the end and the bill was around €50.

Had an excellent lunch here. Was casually cycling around Rotterdam and selected this place purely on the basis of the line outside waiting to get in! The tomato(pomodoro) soup was one of the best I've had and the NYC meatballs were just perfect. Full of flavour and superb presentation. Great service. Very attentive and welcoming. Need to go back to try the sandwiches. The coffee was the perfect end to a good meal.

What an incredible lunch place this is. Amazing options (highlight for the sandwiches), great service with friendly people and always, as you leave the restaurant, you get that sensation that you will want to comeback really soon to try one more time. I have been going there for more than a year, on a regular basis, and the feeling is still the same of the first time. This is definitely a place you must stop by when you are in Rotterdam.

Got vouchers on social deal.. 45 mins from entry time we got the starters.. And our pizza came in 30 minutes from there... My appetite had pretty much died down by the time food came in... The pizza base is not the best The only pizza I liked was the Caprese.. Small portions and the slowest service 🥲 All in all would definitely not recommend on weekends...

I visited Sugo with a colleague shortly before closing time and we ate our pizzas while the hosts were preparing for closing. The atmosphere was relaxed, the taste of the pizza pleasantly surprised me, the friendly demeanour of the hosts felt nice and even though they got my order wrong, they didn’t add the mistake to the bill. I should definitely visit again and try different kinds of their pizzas.

Sugo is one of my favorite discoveries in Rotterdam. The pizza al taglio is light, fresh and really tasty. You can even share a plate and try different flavors, which makes it fun. Coffee here is fantastic have Decaf which is a problem in Rotterdam somehow, and the fact they open early is a lifesaver, especially if you’re staying at NH Atlanta next door (they don’t have a coffee lounge, so this place is a perfect replacement). The design is modern and fresh, eyes clean. staff are super kind and helpful, and there’s even an outside terrace where on warm days you catch a nice breeze through the street. Relaxed atmosphere, good food, great coffee, good people watching spot. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you❤️

This was a nice place, we split a very delicious pizza with an ultralight crust and also a salad that was very generous. My only complaint was they didn't serve tap water and we had to buy water. But that wasn't explained when my partner ordered water, the server brought us the bottle without telling us they didn't have tap water. I realize this is common in Europe, just like to be told in advance. Otherwise, nice atmosphere and delicious pizza.

ive eaten here a few times and it was pretty good, but today I ordered from here and the pizza tasted really bitter, then we realized its extremely burnt, and was inedible. I don’t know what happened, but won’t be going back.

It was a very cozy pizza (and not only) place, the service was very pleasant and professional, the redefined lamb kebab and pancetta and parmesan pizzas were so delicious! We also had tiramisu and cheesecake in a jar for dessert and couldn't recommend it enough either. Will definitely come back again. :)

Chicken and pesto pizza tasted great, very juicy with a crispy bottom and plenty of flavour. One portion is definitely big enough for two people, so the price also ends up being reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive. I also like that they organise their menu based of the healthiness level of the pizzas.

Had a reservation here for Saturday evening at 6 pm. I would definitely recommend this as the restaurant gets quite busy. We ordered 2 Short Rib Pizzas (Beef Short Ribs, Provola d'Agerola, Roseval Potatoes, Sage, Caramelized Shallots, Lemon Zest) and a Classic Margherita with added Bufala (San Marzano Sauce, Flor di Latte, Parmigiano Reggiano, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil). Both pizzas were really nice, one of the best Margherita pizzas and the Short Rib Pizza was flavorful as well. Overall nice place and very busy as well!

I’ve been here twice and these are definitely the best pizzas I’ve had in Rotterdam; authentic, generous, with a crust that is very well cooked. The arancini are wonderful as appetizers too (I recommend the truffle ones) ! The staff is very friendly, although sometimes it takes a bit of effort to get their attention during busy hours. I would however think that in a setting this nice (the open kitchen is very cool) and with these prices, fabric napkins could be provided rather than paper ones, and the cutlery could be changed between the appetizer and the main course (the pizza). On my first visit I also got the tiramisu (to go) which was amazing, however they were out of it on my second visit. Suffering from success maybe, but it would have been nice to end the dinner with it ! Still highly recommend Old Scuola overall for the quality of the pizzas and the fun vibe, just a few areas for improvement still.

Very nice place - cool atmosphere and lovely staff. But honestly, the pizzas weren’t the best. Outer crust was nice but it was all soggy and wet in the middle (probably can’t tell from the picture but yes it was aite)

Authentic and delicious pizzas! Gets quite busy on some days so a reservation is recommended. My favorites are the 4 cheese and the pizza w parmesan cheese crisps :) The environment is cute and cozy, and I loved seeing the open kitchen and their process. The tiramisu is a must have, super delicious, creamy and flavorful 🤎🤍

Best pizza in town, great place to go! Would definitly recommend it. Only comment I have is the start slow service. I ve be been here so many times, and most of the time it can take a while before they take your drinking order. But the service was overal good and they are nice.

They cancel your delivery order 1 minute before the end of the delivery time - we used them for a party, ordered ahead and had to change our entire evening planning. Ate here in person as well a couple of times and while the pizza is good it’s not what it used to be 2/3 years ago anymore :( The crust is ok at the edge but very wet in the middle.

I've visited this restaurant on 22th February 2025 with my friend. It's a good restaurant but there are issues. Positive aspects: -The owner was very friendly and gave us enough time to finish our dessert and espresso while the next guests were waiting for our table. That was the reason why I gave extra tip. -The self-made bread was very good. -The Branzino Al-Sale tasted very good. Neutral aspects: -The ravioli la limone tasted flat. The was no taste explosion in the mouth at all. 24,70 Euro is a very tough price to swallow. We see the true value at max. 15 Euro. -We were waiting a long time for the pre-course when were asked whether we wanted to have some bread for the meantime. We agreed to that but did not know that we were charged 7,50 Euro for that. With this knowledge we would have declined the offer and would have continued to wait for the pre-course. -The presentation of the Branzino al-Sale was, I'm truly sorry, boring. There must be a better way to present the vegetables. -The tables were standing very close to each other so there is no privacy if somebody is looking for that. -the lo stuzzuchino del Cuoco was a bit flat, especially the melon. Summary: for the price we paid, this was definitely too expensive and we probably won't come back. We would give an overall four stars if the price would have been at around 120-130 Euro instead of 149,10 Euro. This we say without being a gastronome and we know that it is super tough to be one with the high inflation and overboarding regulation. On the other side we have to work really hard for our money and have to see which value we get for the money spent. If price is not a limitation, I advice people to come here, to make their own experience and to form their own opinion.

When I had my exchange in Rotterdam, this was my go to place for Italian food! The service and atmosphere is outstanding as they treat all of their customers as their friends. We were welcomed with their signature limoncello spritz as we waited for the food. All dishes felt authentic and tasted really good. We finished the meal off with their home made tiramisu which was also delicious.

Me, my brother & my parents had a wonderful dinner here last Saturday! I was looking for one of my favourite dishes - Cacio e Pepe - and I found this restaurant. The atmosphere was great, staff very nice and the food even better! It is authentic Italian, both the people and the food. Also loved the decoration. Would definitely recommend this place! I for sure want to come back and try out all the other dishes!

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was some of the best Italian I’ve ever had—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was incredible, from the appetizers to dessert. The ambiance and staff are generally pleasant, but unfortunately our experience has been rather the opposite. The dining area was extremely crowded and noisy, with tables placed uncomfortably close to one another, compromising comfort. Service was unexpectedly slow — we waited an hour and 50 min for a simple pasta dish. When the food finally arrived, it fell short of expectations: the pasta was overcooked and lacked the quality one would hope for an Italian restaurant. Additionally, the prices were surprisingly high given both the service experience and the food quality. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to those seeking a good Italian dining experience.

What an amazing place that I wish we'd found earlier. Fantastic food - I had grilled shrimp, with potatoes, veg and salad with the most delicious cheesecake. The host was friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is homely. Would definitely recommend

Great bar with good beers and some nice food. In the UK this would be called a pub, as it serves good food an drinks all day long. Definitely one of the best places in the neighborhood and worth going there if you want to avoid the touristy areas and bars. In the LiveLikeTom Hamburgertest they ended up as nr 18 due to the amount of jalapenos and the 'too smoked' bun (as you can see on the pic).

The brisket was tender and my boyfriend loved his ribs. Everything was truly delicious. At first glance the menu might seem boring and much like fast food but trust me it's not. There is flavor in every bite! At the end of the night you will be saying "Holy Smoke that was amazing!"

I popped in because I was really hungry, and even though I'm vegetarian I was satisfied. Staff was very friendly, place is nice and the falafel burger was good.

For a good beer and some proper food I definitely recommend Holy Smoke. The BBQ honey ribs we're amazing and I flushed it down with a very tasty specialty beer.

I'll be quick about it, and I'll be honest. As many of my fellow reviewers have said before me, the service is below par. We were seated quickly, but it took more than 15 minutes before we got our menus, even though it wasn't busy. It then took more than 45 minutes before our food arrived, and it didn't really taste that good either. We had two burgers and a steak, of which the oily burgers tasted the best. The steak was kind of plain, and there was nothing remarkable about it. I suppose the sauce on the burgers was the sole reason it tasted decent in the first place. I'd take a McTasty over these burgers any day of the week though. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and if invited here I'd recommend another place instead.

This place is tucked in a beautiful area in Kralingen and upon entering, the interior is also very nice with minimalistic but decorations resembling Spanish culture. The menu itself is quite extensive with a good range of cold and warm tapas with decent prices. We ordered a variety of different dishes ranging from patatas bravas to Argentinian shrimps. Most of the dishes we received were very good tasting authentic with a little twist. I highly recommend the shrimps, the pimientos, and the mussels. However the empanadas were a big disappointment as they were tiny and also quite bland and were somehow almost as expensive as the meat dishes. In addition the patatas bravas were good but were quite different to what you receive in Spain so that also could have been better. Finally, we were receiving dishes one by one at the beginning which to me defeats the purpose of tapas which is to eat them at the same time so that should also be improved. Nevertheless it’s a nice place so I recommend to anyone looking for tapas place but do take my comments into account.

A tapas restaurant with nice friendly service. We had the surprise menu with many tapas. There were too many tapas with potatoes, too salty as well and the dishes lacked the real Spanish taste.

A nice little neighborhood tapas restaurant... Delicious dishes and good service. Also, on Sunday evenings at 7pm they host a Spanish guitar musician - reserve in advance if you want to enjoy some musical accompaniment with your dinner.

We had the dessert - tiramisu and special cheesecake. Both were so tasty! Our waitress was lovely and service was good. Would highly recommend.

My order looked terrible 14 euros and i get a burnt piece of cheese and sauce on dough. Burnt on the top, and soggy uncooked at the bottom. I expected more from you guys. And when you call them they say because they are very busy. So if the pressure is on your quality declines. Says alot about your establishment. Sad to say I wont order again from you guys.

Had a very bad experience with delivery pizzas. Usually I order from PizzaBakkers when I would like to have good quality food. I regularly order PizzaBakkers in Delft and always had a very good experience. However, when I order from Pannekoekstraat PizzaBakkers all I got was a joke! We ordered three pizzas and non of them look liked the picture at all. Mozzarella cheese should have arrived in a separate box. But all the ingredients on our pizza was damaged. They were cold, smaller size and very oily. I will never order from this place again! And I don't recommend at all...

A cozy Italian place in Katendrecht, a hidden gem for freshly made pasta. Burro e Salvia is a small Italian restaurant where you can find homemade fresh pasta and pizza. But do note that their pizzas are baked in an electric oven and it is a different style than the Neopolitan pizza. You can find a detailed explanation of this in one of the comments left by the owner, showing how much they care about their craft While they have a wide selection of pizza toppings, their pastas are especially great. I'd especially recommend their carbonara. They use good quality ingredients, often from Italy directly. The portions are generous and it is a great value for money. And make sure to end your meal with their homemade tiramisu, it is probably one of the best I've had recently in the Netherlands. The service is fast and our food arrived on time although it was busy on that day. Since the place is small, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you want to eat in.

This is a really nice place to eat great Italian food. This is one of the very few places in Rotterdam where you can eat a very good carbonara and an amazing tiramisu. The ravioli with melanzane & ricotta are nice but I'd not order them again. Overall the food is really nice but the price is a bit too high (when compared with other good Italian restaurants around the city). The place itself is small but cozy and the service is quite fast.

Really the best pasta and pizza in the city! If you want to eat in, it’s always a good idea to make a reservation here. The carbonara is super creamy and delicious. Simple wine menu with nice options as well. We’ve ordered in for home delivery, take out and dine in on multiple occasions over the last few years and it’s always been consistent in taste and quality. And the staff is really nice and friendly!

Update 2025: Still one of the best Italian places. Reserving a table is recommended, because food does sell out (something I actually really like). Still the kindest and hardworking people. A joy to be back here every single time. By far the best Italian food you can find in Rotterdam. Pizza's are leagues above everything else you can get, wine is delicious and the pasta's are absolutely amazing. Very welcoming and kind people. A treasure for the city.

I hope this doesn't come off as snobby, but here goes. 3 stars. We are real pizza lovers. Have read books about it, watched shows about it, etc. Based on the pictures and reviews of the place, we came in with high expectations. This looked like a place that makes great pizzas in an authentic neapolitan way. But. 1. There is very little place in the store. I was seated right next to the front door. But good pizza can make up for that. 2. We waited about 40 minutes for our pizza. 3. The pizzas are made in an electric oven instead of wood oven. This makes it less authentic, and doesn't crisp up the pizza as nicely, which made the crust a bit chewy. 4. The dough is said to be fermented for 50 hours, but it didn't have that nice sour "fermenty" taste. 5. The topping to crust ratio was very low. Almost half of the pizza was crust. This would have been ok if the crust itself tasted good, but see point 4. 6. The margerita pizza had too much cheese on it. On an american pizza, extra cheese is great, but on a neapolitan pizza with italian mozzarella, which melts differently, the result is that the pizza get too wet, and you end up with big chunks of chewing gum-like pieces of cheese in your mouth. So overall a medium experience. I definitely had worse pizzas in my life. Still, it was dissappointing. Thank you for listening to my ted talk. Absolutely amazing pizza! We ordered quattro formaggi and it was ready within 10 min. The service was very friendly as well. The crust was delicious and really fluffy on the edges. The only thing we would change is the size. I am definitely going to order there again!

Food was very tasty but I expected a bit more for the share brunch plate. Lady who attended us was very nice and welcoming and so was the other staff. Coffee was particularly lovely for some reason and the decoration was warming and very aesthetic. Great place overall 👍🏼

This place is the true definition of five stars! I can’t find words to describe how delicious the food was. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich, the French toast and kimchi deviled eggs. The friend chicken sandwich has this delightful kick. The French toast was really well done and the deviled eggs were a perfect appetizer. 100% recommended!

This was on my list of places for a while. I was looking forward to eating the kimchi fried chicken burger and the mint cucumber shrub. The kimchi burger was delicious with the brioche bun, kimchi, fried chicken, cabbage and cheese. The fried chicken was really crunchy but the burger was a little on the dry side. The shrub was refreshing on the hot day and was a nice in combination with the burger. This place has quite a variety of options but the fried chicken burger is their weekend brunch menu and they have a different set of dishes during the week.

Everything was absolutely delicious. We had a great night with beautifully plated and scrumptious food and the best cocktails. Going on my Rotterdam favourites list now ❤️

My favorite restaurant to eat lunch. Located next to one of Rotterdam's most famous street, yet its hidden! They serve food, coffee and cocktails. Usually when a restaurant offers more than one thing they lose focus and they cant do it all. Not Williams Canteen, man have they achieve excellence in all of them. I usually order the fried chicken sandwich with kimchi, it is simply delicious! Unfortunately they have removed the fried chicken from their menu... Bring back the kimchi fried chicken, we want the kimchi fried chicken!!! Their coffee is soooo good and taste amazing as well however not as amazing as their kind, sweet and attentive staff.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience! They are taking dining in Rotterdam to the next level. The service is impeccable (a rare commodity in the Netherlands), the cocktails are absolutely delicious and perfect and served in high-quality glassware, and most importantly, the food is wonderful. Creative combinations, high-quality and fresh ingredients, and clearly a very talented chef make for such a delicious experience at Williams Canteen.

The entrance to the cafe was a little hard to find, but once you found it you were in a really idyllic cafe. The view of the skyline is beautiful. The cafe and rooftop terrace are urban chic and very inviting. I had an iced matcha latte with vanilla syrup and the “Triple Omega”. My extra requests were accepted in a friendly manner. In general, the service staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was really delicious. There could have been a few small improvements (for example, the egg yolk could have been more runny), but that's complaining on a high level. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The portions are a bit small, but it was perfect for me. I recommend everyone to have brunch there on a city trip to Rotterdam!

Nice food, place is very instagramable, nice decorations, outside terrace is small and warm when sunny. Garden is not accessible. All in all very cute, romantic, and good food. Lift is old and creepy. You have to climb the last stairs from the highest floor reached by the lift to get to the cafe. Small cafe but unique. Difficult to find though

excellent service and delicious brunch! highly recommend!! A beautiful way to enjoy the view of the city. We booked the brunch high tea, and normally I am a bit sceptical about the quality of these high teas but I couldn't find any fault with this one. Everything was delicious!

The rooftop garden is beautiful. The food is okay. The fries with parmesan and truffle mayonnaise are very strong in flavour. We asked an extra toast and it was not really good. The service is very bad. When we arrived, it was very disorganised. They asked for my name twice. The reception was not good. We had to get up to order because the waitress did not come to our table. We also had to go to pay the bill. I recommend it for the view, but only if you have a lot of time to wait.

What a great find! Really enjoyed the food, the cozy vibes and the friendly staff! Love that they have chickens roaming around outside… on the rooftop garden! Such a great place to relax, eat and get a good view of the city.

The Burgers were great! However the curry bow wasn't, all of the vegetables in it were sour so it all tasted the same. The interior also is not very cosy. The staff were friendly.

Finally! Very tasty, healthy, plant based, fast food! The World needs this. They have an amazing plant based burger, which my kids even love. Homemade ginger beer with much less sugar and healthy ingredients. You can order with the tablets at the order counter and enjoy your food in or outside

The one thing I look for when travelling somewhere new is vegan food, I found this place on happy cow so I had to go find it. Luckily we were at the station so we didnt have to go far. Unfortunately the card machine was down for a bit but we were happy to wait, the owner was super kind and caring and offered us drinks to wait. Eventually the machine started working again slowly but surely, my friends card went through then it almost stopped working, he offered me my meal free if it wouldnt work but I love to support vegan businesses so I hoped it wouldnt just start working. It did. I tried the Japanese bowl which was super tasty, and good portions. My friend tried the eggplant burger which was good but too small for the portion and price. All in all I love this place and suggest it if you want a nice fast plant based meal.

Great and fast plant-based food in a simple setting. They have self order terminals only, it‘s very nice and easy. The vegan mac‘n‘cheese was delicious. I recommend taking the bowls, the burgers are quite more expensive compared. Also conveniently located opposite Central Station.

Second time eating here. Both burgers and milkshakes I've tried were among the best I've ever had! The tiramisu ice-cream tastes exactly of Italian tiramisu. Staff is friendly too. Will be back a third time and many more :)

This bistro definitely has a lot of style, chic industrial interior design and posh menus. The food was tasty but in very small portions and a bit limited to the super French dishes.

We've had dinner at Belen for the 5th time now. Every time we visit Rotterdam it's specifically to have dinner at Belen. The biological local menu is a surprise and the chef always manages to pleasantly exceed our high expectations. The passionate sommelier clearly knows what he's doing so I can only recommend to take the -carefully selected- paired wine selection. They have some bottles you can't find in other restaurants. Last but not least: the lovely staff is very welcoming and know how to make each evening cosy and memorable as ever. Thank you!

Quite an interesting concept though but I feel like it is well over priced for what you are getting on your plates and in your glasses. Also the staff dismissed very easily the fact that I had a rest of bullet in my meat and that I almost broke a teeth on it (he did not warn us before end). Made a joke out of it.

I really recommend this place if you like thai food. The sauce of the pad thai is super delicious and something I never tasted before in the Netherlands. We have been here multiple times and have been recommending this place to friends and family. We have never left this place disappointed

Came here on a Wednesday night. Heard this place was really good from local Thai people living in Rotterdam. We were seated right away. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (stir fried rice noodles with egg, peanut, bean sprouts, spring onion, leek and lime) and we also ordered Beef Pad See Ew (stir fried broad rice noodles with soy sauce, egg, bean sprouts, broccoli, vegetable and lime). I really really enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai. We also ordered a Thai Tea for a drink which was nice as well. Great place for Thai food, the portions were great as well as the employees.

It's a small and cozy place. All the dishes taste decent for me, large portions, I recommend to share dishes with your friends so that you can try multiple dishes cuz there were many options in the menu. The staff were friendly and nice. The papaya was really spicy for me and all my friends even though we chose the normal level of spiciness, it was just personal spice tolerance haha

Frankly the best Thai food I've eaten outside Thailand! Lunch was extraordinarily delicious, just like what I had in Bangkok: raw papaya salad with dried shrimp, Phad Thai with minced pork, fishcakes. The owners and cook are very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return soon!

The service people didn't know anything about the wine or food, the kitchen is so slow. The food was ok but so not worth 58€ for a platter which is more Dutch than Spanish, wine was ok but not worth 8,50€ the glass, please calm down 😂 We waited 40 min to get three tiny pieces of bread that cost 1€ each, we had to ask 5 times for it, maybe you need a new manager or maybe you have to change the concept as it's definitely not really efficient. A total of 112€ for that is insane I am sorry but this is taking people for dumbasses

The portion per person were so generous that we decided to share the main dishes to be able to try them out. The cannelloni were delicious and the pasta with parmesan tasted quite good and well. Some of us even went for a dessert and between tiramisu, tatin pie and citrus pie the choice was quite hard. I recommend this place, the prices reflect the quality of the cooking.
