Euromast is a must-visit TV tower in Rotterdam, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. It features dining options and two luxurious suites, as well as thrilling activities like abseiling and a zipline. The tour around Euromast includes exploring various residential typologies, IT and media compounds, educational facilities, and sustainable projects such as the SAWA housing tower.
Great tour! It was so much fun and very entertaining, and you discover even more of Rotterdam's beauty! I would definitely recommend doing everything, including the scoop at the end (if you're not afraid of heights, of course). I highly recommend this attraction.
Debson D — Google review
A must! Incredible views. We went up just before sunset and then after sunset, we had a drink and A DELICIOUS AND GENEROUS portion of their fries with truffle mayo and parmesan, so worth it. After that we went back out to experience the views of the lights. It's like 3 experiences in 1. Highly recommend it to locals and tourists.
Magriet J — Google review
Absolutely stunning views and great hospitality. The restaurant, which is accessible by a high-speed lift up overlooks the spectacular scenery of Rotterdam. Food was delicious and service was really friendly. Highly recommended for a visit if you're in Rotterdam.
Victor T — Google review
The waiter was pretty rude! One of the waitresses got us a table with a nice view but that was all of the good experience. We waited 20 minutes to order and when the waiter came he told us that table has a reservation and we had to move to another one so we left the restaurant.
Gosha R — Google review
A moment suspended between sky and earth. The Euromast restaurant offers a culinary experience as memorable as the view that accompanies it. Each dish reflects a refined balance of flavors and a meticulous presentation, enhanced by discreet and attentive service. The panorama over Rotterdam, especially at sunset, lends the whole experience an atmosphere that is both intimate and spectacular. An exceptional address perfect for celebrating a special occasion or simply savoring the Dutch art of living with elegance.
Aimen — Google review
We saw Euromast from the outside. I think the entrance fee is too much. We didn't go up the tower. But it gives a different atmosphere to the city. The park right next to it is very well organized. There is a nice walking area.
Mehmet Ş — Google review
Was great to br able to see Rotterdam from such a height and there is a small video you watch to show the history of Rotterdam. Would have been better if they had signs to show what you are looking at once you are on the viewing platform. Instead there is a QR code you can scan and then you are supposed to be able to point your camera at things and it will tell you what it was, however it doesn't work well at all. You also have to buy a more expensive ticket to go to the highest point. They also do abseiling down the Euromast which wasn't widely advertised.
Jasmine P — Google review
Great views of Rotterdam, and the extra pay to go up to the top is worth it, but the down side is the wait to get into the Euro scoop, you wait out side is the wind and rain. But the view is worth it. Wrap up warm if you visiting in the winter

Bridge
Luchtsingel is a wooden bridge spanning almost 390 meters, connecting the northern part of Rotterdam with the city center and Central Station. This initiative by young creatives aims to revitalize the area and make it a city highlight once again. The bridge offers a unique way to explore the city from an elevated perspective and is adorned with captivating street art. Its vibrant yellow color and symmetrical design make it a must-see attraction for those seeking Instagram-worthy spots in Rotterdam.
That place is so amazing, a big part of the Rotterdam spots which are definitely worth visiting! The bridge connects three parts of the closest areas and is giving an amazing view and atmosphere. It has a big (hi)story behind all those years, be part of it while visiting it in momental presence!:)
Mar L — Google review
It is a wooden, yellow-painted structure near the railway. It would be great if it wasn't covered by graffiti all over the place.
Giovanni S — Google review
Luchtsingel in Rotterdam is a vibrant and unique location that offers an amazing backdrop for a photoshoot. I had the pleasure of doing a personal shoot here, and the colorful architecture and dynamic urban environment provided a lot of creative possibilities. The bridge's design and the surrounding area are perfect if you are looking for bold, modern backgrounds. As a professional photographer working throughout the Netherlands, I recommend to check this place out.
Urte F — Google review
Amazing architecture and great spot for your creative photography! All the structure is built out of wood. Nice shape and colors! Definitely a must see if you are an architect or designer, visiting Rotterdam!
Andrii Z — Google review
I hope that after the renovation the bridge will be more alive and less abandoned. I still love the place and I find it very good spot for photo sessions. It’s a little bit shabby but I was never upset with my photos made there. It’s totally not a touristic place and not a poster child from urban design magazines, but it has its charm
Sofya S — Google review
The Luchtsingel is a 390 meter long wooden bridge, which is partly financied by crowdfunding: People could (and still can) buy a plank and have a text of their choice on that plank. I’ve got two planks: “De Mannen van Jam” (me and my husbands make jams/marmelades) and “Rob + ik = 25 jaar Rotterdam” (a present from a friend of mine celebrating 25 years of friendship in Rotterdam). For building the bridge they made a passage in the Schieblock building. On the outer sides of the bridge there are quotes from a poem by former city’s poet Ramsey Nasr. 📷 Urban Sketching location.
Rob K — Google review
Really fascinated by each unique designed architecture in Holland. The standout yellow immediately draw your attention. Very interesting.
Claire A — Google review
Don't be fooled by architecture magazines and blogs who have copied the press releases about this but have never actually visit the site. Just a few years after its completion the bridge is already in need of repairs while the area looks like a no-go zone. Typical architecture brouhaha and an utter waste of public money.

Witte de Withstraat, named after a 17th-century admiral, has transformed from a modest residential and commercial street into one of Rotterdam’s liveliest cultural hubs. Revitalized in the 1990s through urban renewal projects, it is now known for its contemporary art galleries, creative spaces, and vibrant nightlife. The Witte Huis, also known as the White House, is a historic 10-story art nouveau building located in the heart of Rotterdam. Constructed in 1898, it holds the distinction of being the first high-rise building in Europe. Designed by architect Willem Molenbroek, this iconic structure stands at 141 feet tall and was inspired by skyscrapers in New York.
Rotterdam's very own White House, the first skyscraper in the city. While obviously dwarfed by the recent true skyscrapers this building, in art deco style, remains imposing and grand. A landmark in this magnificent city
Dr S — Google review
We arrived late with our nervous dog and were welcomed so warmly at Het Witte Huis, even though the kitchen had pretty much closed. The staff went out of their way to make us a smashed burger, sardine spaghetti, and bitterballen – all of which were absolutely delicious. The burger in particular was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, clearly made with care. We tucked ourselves into a cosy corner with beers while our dog relaxed and fell asleep, and the staff never rushed us, even though we were the last ones in. We’ve rarely felt so genuinely welcomed in a bar, and the kindness of the team made the evening unforgettable. Thank you for such a lovely experience – we can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Rotterdam!
Mark A — Google review
An iconic location with a great atmosphere. Cannot overstate that you need to visit this place. Experience something outside Amsterdam with history and atmosphere. This place is evolving and yet rooted in history. Just the best. The Bolwerk is coming back…watch this space.
MerijnGarry H — Google review
Amazing building in the old harbour area. It looks most impressive in the summer when surrounded by green trees the white facade shines bright like a diamond. While visiting the cube houses (what everybody does) it would be a shame not to make those few steps and see this end of the XIXth century building.
Pan P — Google review
We had the most hilarious night here last weekend. The private bar is perfect for your birthday party 💖 fair price and happy guests, it couldn't be any better.
Stephonne C — Google review
A landmark building in Rotterdam. This building is known as the first skyscraper in Europe being 10 storeys high. Also this is one of the very few buildings which survived the world war bombings. Now this is functioning as a restaurant. Worth take a visit to this historical place.

Kunsthal Rotterdam is a striking steel and glass museum that hosts temporary art, design, and photography exhibitions. The museum is located in Museumpark alongside other world-class exhibition spaces like Het Nieuwe Instituut and Sonneveld House. The futuristic Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, designed to store over 150,000 works from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen next door, is also a part of this vibrant cultural hub.
It's a not big museum but I loved the layout of it. The place itself if very nice. I'm th kind of person who enjoys museum architecture, and this is one worth visiting. Regarding the exhibitions, its really depending on what's in the calendar. The art pieces i saw that days are not my kind, but still I enjoyed after walking around, I decided to have lunch on the terrace. Was very nice. I order some Thai fish cakes, and they were amazing. if you have 30-60 min free, you are on the area and have a museum kaart, then yes, make the stop and visit the Kunsthal
Mariafernanda H — Google review
Cute exhibit is simply amazing. Plus the building in itself is a must see, an icon of contemporary architecture, its aging very well!
Martin C — Google review
The museum is a leading cultural venue that hosts a wide range of temporary exhibitions spanning art, design, and popular culture. Unlike traditional museums, it has no permanent collection, making each visit a new experience. Designed by Rem Koolhaas and opened in 1992 as part of the Museumpark cultural district, the building features a striking ramp design that guides visitors smoothly through its galleries.
Seokjin H — Google review
I wanted to see the cute exhibition. Some exhibits brought back childhood memories. It was nice. children there looked like they were also enjoying it. Sad that 1 of the exhibition was not available. I still enjoyed the museum.
Naomi H — Google review
Beautiful exhibits and reasonable price. I particularly enjoyed Iris van Herpen's work/the sculpting the senses exhibit. There was a long queue to get in but it moved fast. There is a coat and bag check in with free lockers and coathooks, but it can become a crowded chokepoint. I was able to get a locker with the help of the friendly staff that fit a large backpack and my jacket. I bought tickets at the door but I think it would be slightly faster to do it online.
Sarah G — Google review
It's a great place to visit. I spent around 2 hours here. It's easy to navigate the various halls. It's very family—and kid-friendly.

Went there on Saturday. Busy but don't need to wait in line to get in. Interesting art museum, many interactive part. Nice activity with kids but should be with Parents advise. Their toilets have No Gender Concept. Kind of cool idea

Restaurant
Lido Grill - ss Rotterdam is a delightful dining experience located on the historic ss Rotterdam, an iconic ocean liner that has been transformed into a luxurious venue. This magnificent ship, once the flagship of Holland America Line and now moored in Maashaven, offers guests a unique blend of nostalgia and modern comfort. With its 1950s charm still intact, visitors can enjoy exquisite meals while soaking in the maritime ambiance.
We went for a lunch there. The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. Service was also good, employees were well behaved. Entire cruise exploring was a nice experience!
Akhi A — Google review
The menu looked nice, and some day we will come back. But the hostess today was not polite, so we didn’t even wanted to dine there. She was not welcoming and in bad mood or whatever. We appreciate good hospitality as we also are part of this industry. Hope to dine here another time!
Kerija B — Google review
We had a great time during a Saturday lunch in 2 families of 3 at Lido. The atmosphere is great both at the restaurant and the entire SS Rotterdam. They've done something special here indeed. The service is friendly and efficient. The food - at least at lunch - it's not super elaborated, but they deliver some good options that please all tastes. Definitely a must go in Rotterdam.
Douglas C — Google review
I had a reservation for 18 people (14 adults and 4 children) confirmed by phone for August 9th at 20:00. Upon checking, I was told the reservation was never recorded. No solution offered, no apology. I’ve stayed on the SS Rotterdam, taken the tour, and dined here multiple times, but this experience shows a serious lack of professionalism. Very disappointing.
Julien W — Google review
Today I had lunch and dinner at the Lido restaurant on the ss Rotterdam. It looks amazing and both lunch and dinner were perfect. The decoration of the restaurant is very stylish. You feel comfortable instantly. The view is just stunning. Our waiters were very friendly and personable. Food was delivered quickly after we ordered and it all was very tasty. Thanks for the great experience!
Erwin 0 — Google review
We had a birthday celebration/romantic dinner at this iconic place and it was an impeccable experience. The staff was very courteous, food was amazing and the whole ambience of dining on the boat of such a historical significance is truly a lifetime experience. Prices were surprisingly affordable. We can't wait to go back and celebrate more occasions here.

Specialty Museums
The Maritime Museum in Rotterdam offers a fascinating glimpse into the city's maritime heritage. Visitors can explore vintage ships, historic port models, and interactive exhibits for kids. The museum showcases paintings of famous sea battles, collections of ships, and informative videos about naval history. It also features recreated boat interiors from different time periods, including karaoke rooms, casinos, and vintage bars. In addition to its permanent collections on shipbuilding and sea legends, the museum hosts temporary exhibits on various maritime topics.
Fantastic spot for families in Rotterdam! This isn’t your typical museum, it’s an interactive experience full of hands-on fun. The offshore platform is packed with engaging exhibits for both kids and adults, and the maritime history displays are really well done. Outside, you can even explore real historic ships. There’s also a cozy café and a gift shop with great souvenirs. Perfect mix of fun and learning – definitely worth more than a quick visit!
Jarosław ( — Google review
The museum is the oldest of its kind in the Netherlands and one of the most important maritime museums in Europe. Founded in 1874 on the initiative of Admiral Lodewijk Pincoffs, it explores navigation, shipbuilding, trade, port history, and life at sea. The museum is especially family-friendly, with many interactive exhibitions. Outside, the harbour in Leuvehaven lets visitors step aboard historic vessels, cranes, and even a lighthouse, bringing Rotterdam’s seafaring past vividly to life.
Seokjin H — Google review
Nice place for both parents & kids. Museum is interesting for adult, at the same time PLONS zone is very attractive to my kids. They spent several hours there while parents could have a cup of coffee in this place. Besides, they can enjoy small boat riding just in front of the museum.
Arisara C — Google review
It was ok. I feel like more old ships history and art can be placed there. The most fun part fpr me was the games but there was too many kids there and other people so it was impossible to play more than 2 games.
Yiqiang X — Google review
Lovely museum with lots of interesting and interactive displays, well worth the visit.
Jean-Francois D — Google review
Great for kids 6 yr plus according to me, so they read and understand what they are seeing, connectivity is great near tram station. Outside boats dont need tickets. Pl book kids section in advance as its crowd controlled which is good ( never overcrowded) we spent 3-4 hours including a kids boat ride outside, where they give 3 euro discount if you have just been to the museum. Off shore experience is great, with interactive videos n games and pick a lanyard. Kids section RFID bands are kept free inside. Feel free to pick one and play the games, videos. There are snacks up on the top deck.
Events C — Google review
Very nice museum, covers both the nautical history and the operations of the port. Watching a blacksmith at work is very impressive, and you might even end up with a souvenir!
Lena V — Google review

Park
Nature & Parks
Het Park, established in 1852, is a picturesque English landscape-style park featuring a mini-golf course, benches, and a BBQ area. It offers an ideal setting for leisurely strolls or guided bicycle tours to explore the city's attractions such as the Cube Buildings, Old Harbour walkway, Maritime Museum's floating section, Walk of Fame with hand and footprints of notable personalities, Erasmus Bridge, and Euromast.
If you’re looking for a chill spot in Rotterdam, Het Park is a total must-visit. It’s like a green escape right in the city – spacious, full of old trees, little ponds, and a super relaxed vibe. Perfect for a picnic, laying in the grass, or just strolling around with a coffee in hand. Bonus? It’s right next to the Euromast, so if you want to mix nature with a killer view, you’re in the right place. And if you’re into good food, there’s a restaurant in the park called Parqiet – great vibes, solid brunch, and good coffee.

A must if you are in the city, specially in the weekends. A couple of weeks ago we got to see a free classic music concert (with opera). The space is surrounded by enormous trees and spaces to lay and enjoy a good time.

This park is beautiful and all, but the one thing I appreciate the most is the availability of public toilets which I thought was more difficult to find in the country than women who appreciate my sense of humour.

The park is Rotterdam’s oldest and most iconic city park, designed in 1852 by Jan David Zocher and Louis Paul Zocher. Its English-style landscaping blends historic monuments with views of the modern Euromast, creating a mix of 19th-century tradition and contemporary cityscape. The park is home to ponds, ducks, and other wildlife, while also serving as a lively venue for summer festivals, concerts, and open-air markets.

Museum Rotterdam is a comprehensive institution dedicated to the history of the city. Its collection spans 10,000 years, showcasing artifacts from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum explores themes such as work, immigration, and religion, connecting the past with contemporary life in Rotterdam. Visitors can view a wide range of objects including skull fragments from early settlers, timbers from the first dam across River Rotte, and modern fashion designs by local talents.
Apparently the only bit of Rotterdam Museum at the moment, but as a student of WW2 in the Netherlands I was very happy A fine selection of items showed WW2 in Rotterdam from Mein Kampf to Liberation. There are interpretation boards in Dutch giving more detail. A separate room showed decisions after WW2 on saving or tearing down key buildings. Special mention to the 2 chaps staffing today who were charming, helpful and spoke perfect English 👍😊

Lovely museum to learn about WW2 in Netherlands. Small but worth the visit with an extensive collection of items to see. Hopefully they regain a new locale to cover Rotterdam history as well. Staff is super friendly and welcoming.

A very interesting museum. Lots of very moving information about Rotterdam and what the city and its people endured during WW2. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Shout out to Bram! Communicated well in multiple languages, very kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Small but packed full of interesting stories and artefacts from WW2. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Well worth visiting!

Great museum! €5 student discount. Although all the written text is in Dutch, at the ticket office they provide you: - a newspaper which is the translation of all the historical dates and facts printed on the walls (that you can keep) - and a laminated sheet with the story of the most important objects displayed The rest of objects, cards and flags I used Google Lens translation, and all together I had no problems understanding what was displayed. For the video they show, it can be any language they set, and as the majority of the people at the time preferred English, that was the audio selected. The stories in the video are connected to the objects on the walls, a beautiful touch that bring them to life. All in all it's a Highly Recommended Museum :-)

As others have said, it’s a small museum but immaculately kept and absolutely packed with items from the occupation, including many pieces that survived the devastating bombing of 1940. Some of the artifacts are truly devastating statements on the evil of war, including a small pair of gloves belonging to a child victim of the Holocaust and a wedding dress that was somehow saved from the flames after the May 1940 attack. A tin of biscuits reduced to pure carbon and warped glassware speaks to the heat of the fires that raged after the bombing. The staff are extremely kind and accommodating; they even checked that I didn’t speak Dutch and made sure to replay the film (the English version this time) just for me. Absolutely worth the trip, don’t miss it if you go to Rotterdam!

What a fascinating museum describing Rotterdam's history during WWII. It is very well organised and the various displays are fascinating to see and learn from. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended when you are (or live in) Rotterdam. The last 8 photos were from Museum Rotterdam at Timmerhuis which regrettably is closed permanently
Dr S — Google review
Small museum. If you are looking for details and historic footage, your expectations will not be met. I'll explain myself: you have general info (written only in Dutch) on how the war started and some info on the Rotterdam bombings which give you a general idea. The motion picture shown is more about individuals and their specific situation than the facts as such. Nevertheless if you're more into memorabilia which are the core of this museum, this is perhaps the place to stop by. As a plus you're handed over a tablet of which the content is user-friendly built (see photo with yellow banner). After having keyed in some coordinates of the artefact, it will tell you what it is about. At the very end of your walk, there are some pictures projected foreseen of voice. To me very interesting, there facts are told.

Rotterdam Central is the main railway station in Rotterdam, serving approximately 110,000 travelers daily. It has undergone significant growth and changes in recent years, creating more open spaces for shops and cafes to cater to visitors' needs. The station also features two supermarkets and underground bike parking facilities. Its striking architecture allows ample natural light to enter through spacious windows, with a distinctive pointy roof guiding attention towards the city center.
central station Rotterdam in Holland !that has exit for: metro, tram, bus, train, taxi, A station with modern design and super big! with shops and supermarket! 👍👏
Criativa J — Google review
It’s a really big station and looks really nice. There are lots of place to sit and wait for your train. The outside looks gorgeous and perfectly designed also. The only thing that bother me is that the station can be sometimes a mes. And also the staff are really appreciative and kind but some of them can be harsh for no reason.
Blac C — Google review
Beautiful central station with helpful security staff, one needs the ticket bar code to enter and exit. I was facing an issue making it work but the security staff member was kind enough to help me. The displays of the train numbers and platform nos.are clear. Variety of food options inside the station to choose from.
Suneela I — Google review
The station is the largest transport hub in the south of the Netherlands, combining striking modern design with efficiency. The original station opened in 1847, while the current building—designed by Benthem Crouwel, Meyer en Van Schooten, and West 8—was completed in 2014. Its tilted roof and futuristic façade make it an architectural landmark. As part of Europe’s high-speed rail network, it serves Thalys, Eurostar, and Intercity Direct trains connecting Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, and London, alongside extensive domestic NS services
Seokjin H — Google review
Yeah look, I love the architecture from the outside, to the point that if I had been if I had been an architect I wish I would've designed that shape. The service centre could be quite busy but the staff was very nice and helpful and got me the ticket to go Amsterdam, even though honestly, I probably could've bought it from one of the machines if I wasn't so technologically challenged. I know I'm nitpicking and this is the standard in Europe, but I really hate it when I have to pay to go to the dunny when nature calls and despite some other reviewers comments about there being plenty of seating spaces, I didn't see a lot of seating places in the platform and I had to sit on my suitcase. As a result, the bread I bought as a gift for my ex-boss ended up being squashed from the force of my butt. But that one is on me.
Kit T — Google review
Really big station but it's easy to get between the different platforms, it's light and bright, shops in the subway,

Beautiful construction and a very efficient station with good food options, plenty of lifts and helpful staff. Located in a brilliant spot. Will still mark this 5 stars as everything is overwhelmingly so good but would like to mention the poor standards of toilets. The toilets are not by the government they're located upstairs and it's a company operating of which I forgot the name. We went into the disabled toilets for a baby change and the smell was horrific to the point we had to change our baby in the corner in his pram which is horrible. The person who worked at the toilets had a horrible attitude and when I asked him for a bin for the babies nappy he started shaking his head and sighed before he picked up the bin to give it to me. Very rude person which left us feeling awful for a few hours after that experience. Thankfully everyone else around was very pleasant. Definitely one of the nicer stations to look at in the Netherlands!
Aon S — Google review
Beautiful station and a real Rotterdam landmark. Modern design with subtle nods to older stations, like the sculpture from the old station, reminds me the old days, and the lighting—bright plaza by day, glowing hall at night—really works for a busy hub. The roof clearly thinks about sustainability. Biggest problem: hardly any seating place like benches or chairs, so it's not great if you want to pause. On the flip side, fewer seats do keep people moving, which helps the flow.

The Rotterdam Street Art Museum, also known as the Kunsthal Rotterdam, is a leading cultural institution in the Netherlands. It offers exhibitions of fine art, photography, and historical themes from various eras. The museum collaborates with local artists to provide on-site masterclasses and family programs. In addition to traditional art venues, Rotterdam's city center features vibrant street art that can be explored through six different walking or biking routes.
Start with the 'Love' wall on the Oranjeboomstraat and go all the way till the end. All art is verry impressively big! 4 stars because I've wished for more.

(Translated by Google) The Rotterdam Street Art Museum may seem interesting at first glance with its colorful murals, but the location spoils the experience. The works of art, which stretch along the facades of houses in a rather seedy area, are hardly visible here. Although one part of the street is reminiscent of the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, the other part appears darker. You often come across people who are visibly drug addicts or dubious, which makes the atmosphere unpleasant. We ultimately decided to turn back. The works of art have no space here to develop their full effect. Overall, the art and street is therefore not recommended for a visit.

Nestled to the east of Rotterdam's city center, Arboretum Trompenburg is a serene botanical garden spanning almost 8 hectares. Visitors can immerse themselves in a world of vibrant flowers, shady trees, and fragrant medicinal plants. The meticulously curated gardens showcase an impressive collection of trees, shrubs, perennial plants, and bulbs. Greenhouses offer further exploration into rare plant species from around the globe.
A beautiful garden to visit. We went there in the Spring and there were so many trees and plants in bloom. Very peaceful, beautifully set out and cared for, with a huge variety of trees, and plants from around the world, including a cactus greenhouse. The garden also houses a shop/cafe at the entrance and a restaurant at the opposite end of the gardens where you can enjoy lunch. Well worth a visit!

Arboretum Trompenburg is a beautiful garden and flower museum that I really enjoyed visiting. The entrance is free, and you can go in through the little flower shop near the front. I spent a couple of peaceful hours walking around, enjoying the variety of trees, flowers, and birds. There are small bridges over canals that add a lot of charm to the place and make the views even more special. There’s also free parking available, which makes visiting even more convenient. In one part of the garden, there’s a large bird enclosure with finches, Chinese doves, quails, and a few other small birds. It’s lovely to see them, although if you care about animals being free, it might feel a bit sad to see them inside a cage. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and peaceful walks.

Really cute experience with a variety of flowers. We enjoyed just walking around and experiencing the atmosphere. A cat even greeted us, which made our day. It's kinda unnecessary that they have a bird cage, though. The man that sold us the tickets was really cute. Super passionate and kind.

A peaceful garden to breathe cleaner air in between the jam of city. Some part of the park is quite old, whereas the rest is replanted after being destructed during WW2. A map is given at the entrance so that you can orient yourself. Mini hint: The arboretum is smaller than you think when you have a look at the map. A brilliant escape point for everyone.

The flowers were so beautiful when I visited this summer. The garden was peaceful and well-maintained. I want to go back in another season to see how it looks.
Nim H — Google review
Nice and beautiful garden with vast collection of domestic and international plants. Disclaimer: I visited in late June 2025, 10 am to 5 pm. I can spend hours here. It has WC and decent small restaurant to quench your thirst after a long nice walk among the bushes and under the fir or through the weeping willow surrounding the ponds. Remember to ask for an access card to enter a separate secluded garden accross the back entrance. Here you will be spoiled by the enormous variety of edible plants, from roots to petals and fruits. But, you are not allowed to pick them ya. When you finish, please stop by the gift shop. Here you can purchase few things that you have seen in the garden; gardening equipments and alike. If you happen to live in the area of Rotterdam, you can join the social worker group maintaining the garden. The schedule is usually on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays through all seasons. Please like my review if you find it helpful. Thank you.

It is renowned as the largest indoor market hall in the Netherlands, boasting a vast array of cuisines from around the world. Visitors are advised to prepare for tempting aromas wafting through the air as they explore this culinary haven.
Such a good place to go for a quick meal! There are a lot of food stalls and there's even an Albert Heijn and a souvenir shop. The museum houses over 152,000 works of art including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, crafts and design.
Such a great concept for educating the public about art. As they say, it’s a repository, not a museum per se. You can watch restorations in progress and there are interactive displays. The one display that I really appreciated was on the 5th floor where the backs of paintings were displayed which is something one almost never sees. You could trace the idiosyncrasies and the histories of provenance. Fascinating!

Overwhelming for sure - from the inside and outside. And from the top. Stating the obvious the architecture is absolutely stunning - take your time and take pictures. So much to discover and there is always little twinkle in the illuminated windows to the depot. The weeping glas exhibition was fascinating and enlightening. Great beer selection on the rooftop restaurant ( and of course great view and a magical little autumn forest.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam is currently closed for major renovations, with a planned reopening in 2029. Although I couldn’t go inside, I still stopped by to admire and photograph the exterior—and it didn’t disappoint. The building has a unique charm, blending classic and modern architectural styles with its red-brick façade and clean, elegant lines. It stands out beautifully in the Museumpark area and is definitely worth a visit just for the architecture. Right next to it is the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, an eye-catching, mirrored bowl-shaped building that’s actually an art storage facility open to the public. Even from the outside, it’s a stunning structure, reflecting the sky and surroundings in a really striking way. It’s a great place for photos and a good example of how Rotterdam mixes art and architecture in creative ways. Although I didn’t get to explore the museum’s collection this time, the visit was still worthwhile. If you're in Rotterdam, it’s a lovely stop—especially for anyone who enjoys architecture or photography. Looking forward to coming back once the museum reopens to see what’s inside.

This was a total disappointment to be honest. Most of the places were not accessible and only in appointed times (around 1-2x for the whole day!!) And some were not accessible. The art was arranged in a confusing way such as were the description. Some touch the screens were not working. The app you scan the qr code but then it doesn't actually inform you anything. A lot of contemporary stuff (sorry not my gig). So you had a picasso and Rembrandt mixed with a huge image of a guy laying down with his hairy p€nis showing. It was rather odd. The place was clean and neat. The terrace was OK. Is it worth 20 euros? Never. Will I came back? Most likely not.

Lovely hotel. It really felt like we were on a cruise. Lovely room with a view, and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was great and we had it every day. On the last night, we had dinner on the ship. It was delicious. Easy to get about. Water taxi from boat or bus stop nearby. We had a great stay.

Enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. However upon our first arrival our cab dropped us off next to the ship and it wasn't clear which of the three ways to board was the correct entrance, and eventually we figured out the entrance was the stairway tower with the broken elevator. There was also a noticeable difference between the breakfast buffet on the weekend and the weekday breakfast buffet. But we loved the retro vibe and the vintage luggage and ship displays. Plus walking the nearby small neighborhood which has a couple good restaurants.

A beautifully maintained ocean liner from a bygone era. Now it’s a hotel, museum and restaurant. It’s free to enter and roam around the public areas or visit the cafe and restaurant. However the all area tour requires the purchase of a ticket. There is a small cinema which is free to enter and showing a short video of what travel would have been like on this ship. From the top deck you also have a good view of Rotterdam and the harbour. I recommend to combine this visit with the FENIX migration museum which is in walking distance and gives a broader overview and shows videos of shipping of that era including film material of the SS Rotterdam.

Had drinks and appetizers in the Captain's lounge of the former Holland America flagship. They were very and the G&T was well presented, decorated with mint leaves and strawberries. While undoubtedly a great ship in the 1950s, I'm glad we are sailing on the new one tomorrow.

We had an excellent stay on the SS Rotterdam. We stayed for two nights in a deluxe room, including breakfast, and had dinner in the Lido restaurant on one of the evenings. This was our sixth stay on the ship. During previous visits, we stayed in a family room, which I don’t recommend due to ventilation system noise. The watertaxi platform is very convenient, allowing easy access to various locations in Rotterdam. It’s also a very pleasant walk from the ship to Hotel New York, the Erasmus Bridge, the Cube Houses and the Markthal. The staff were friendly and we had a wonderful time.

Honestly just a fantastic place to stay! Really felt like a unique one of a kind hotel. We were there for a week in July and my children talk about it every day. The little paddling pool for children on the top deck is fantastic!! The rooms are spacious and charming. But our favourite part was probably the water taxis which pick you up right outside and zip you across to the centre in minutes. Absolutely blew us away and we’d love to visit again one day!

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is excellent with water taxi service right onto the ship. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and restaurant. The Lido open air deck is fantastic! Our room was a suite which was very nice. Finally, free shuttle to the cruise terminal (at least when cruising on Holland America, not sure about other cruise lines).
Jeff Y — Google review
Water pressure is too low for reasonable shower. Size of the rooms is very good. My biggest concern with this property is that I was locked into the emergency escape stairwell with no way either back into the rest of the ship nor out of it. This is dangerous and unacceptable and the front desk did not recognize this problem.

I absolutely loved the tour with Peter in Rotterdam! He is a wonderful guide – warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about the city. He shared not only the history and architecture but also fun stories and local insights that made the experience really special. The pace was relaxed and enjoyable, and I felt like I was exploring the city with a friend rather than just following a guide. Highly recommend this tour if you want to discover Rotterdam in a unique and memorable way!

We had a fantastic experience with our guide, Danielle. She was full of energy, super engaging, and took us to some really interesting and spots around the city. Her English was clear and easy to understand (important to notice for bon French native speaker) , and the 2-hour tour was perfectly paced—even for slow walkers. Danielle shared great stories, gave excellent recommendations, and really made the tour come alive. Highly recommended—100% worth it!

Rotterdam Centraal Station, reopened in 2014, is a modern architectural gem that serves as a main Dutch national and international transport hub. After undergoing a 7-year redevelopment, it now accommodates the ever-growing number of daily commuters. The station offers a variety of amenities including information screens, food options, and shopping opportunities. Its sleek design makes it worth visiting for both transportation needs and architectural appreciation.

I just wanted to go to Amsterdam Shiphol to fly to my holidays. Infortunately the staff were disinformative, missleading and unfriendly. First time I was using train and I got 30 min delay and than the train was canceled due to engineering works so we had to take alternative longer train to amsterdam. I was extremely late for my plain, so am extremely unhappy. They were holding me instead letting me get a taxi. Deffinitly I want my money back for a train ticket. Never again.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided by NS Assistance to my daughter, a wheelchair user, at Rotterdam Central station on 30th March 2025. Despite having a pre-booked assistance reservation, she was repeatedly denied help accessing the train at Rotterdam station. This resulted in her being physically lifted onto the train by fellow passengers, posing a significant safety risk. I have demanded a thorough investigation and appropriate action regarding this unacceptable treatment.

The Westersingel Sculpture Route, also known as Beeldenroute Westersingel, is a captivating art trail in Rotterdam. It showcases 17 remarkable sculptures by renowned artists such as Rodin and Picasso. This route follows the scenic Westersingel Canal all the way to Museumpark, offering a unique blend of urban surroundings and artistic beauty. Along the way, visitors can encounter intriguing works like the unusual Santa Claus statue and other public art installations.
Where else in the world can we find stunning sculptures (including Rodin's L'homme qui Marche) along side a canal in the middle of the city. Yes, only in Rotterdam, and it's free! Stroll along Westersingel, visit Chinatown nearby and have a meal or two in some of the many restaurants. Highly recommended

Hotel New York is a chic riverside hotel located in the former headquarters of the Holland-America Line on the southern bank of the Maas river. This nationally landmarked building has been lovingly restored and converted into a four-star boutique hotel, featuring wood-paneled suites, vintage artifacts, and maritime-inspired dining options. The hotel offers stunning views of the water and Rotterdam skyline, making it a popular spot for high tea and leisurely meals.
Location - perfect, room - incredibly spacious, overlooking the river and quirky. The hotel itself has an industrial warehouse feel and is a bit of a one off. Wish we could have stayed longer. Only criticism is that breakfast didn't offer much for people who don't eat animal products. I was able to have some fruit, bread and peanut butter with a black coffee.
Elizabeth A — Google review
We visited for my husband’s birthday with a reservation for four, which included a welcome glass of champagne. The booking process was very smooth—quick replies and easy confirmation, which gave us a great first impression. Unfortunately, the experience at the restaurant itself didn’t quite live up to expectations. When we arrived, the staff member who welcomed us didn’t seem to check the reservation properly, so we were seated without being offered the welcome champagne. While waiting, two different staff members came to ask for drink orders, creating confusion. I eventually spoke with a more experienced team member who acknowledged the communication error and handled it professionally. Our assigned waiter after that point was excellent—friendly, attentive, and communicative. The gentleman who seemed to be supervising also handled the situation well and showed genuine care. The food, however, was a letdown. My tuna steak came too raw, despite requesting it medium, and my daughter didn’t finish her chicken. While the lentils and starters were enjoyable, the main courses didn’t stand out. On top of that, the temperature inside was uncomfortably warm, which added to our decision to skip dessert and leave earlier than planned. We had requested a candle in advance to celebrate the occasion, and while we didn’t stay for dessert, the team kindly brought it out anyway—a thoughtful gesture we appreciated. Overall, while the restaurant positions itself as a laid-back brasserie, I believe this iconic location deserves consistently high-quality service and well-prepared, simple dishes that leave guests saying, “We have to come back.”
Simona K — Google review
Let’s start with the negative part: at check-in there were 2 young ladies with a bit of an attitude. Not super unfriendly but bitchy in the way of giving information and answering our questions. Something you should not expect in an hotel like this. The second was that when we received a phone call if we would like to upgrade with extra payment, the asked for the purpose of our stay, which was are honeymoon. It was noticed but they have nothing done with that. Not that they have too, but giving your costumers a little bit extra attention, would be appreciated. Rooms are nice, bed pillows are horrible for me. Everything is clean except for the texture like feeling on the front of the toilet. Porcelain should be smooth not rough. View is amazing if you book for the river Maas view. The historical feeling in this building is pleasant. Breakfast is expensive but good, don’t forget to ask for an omelette in the kitchen. It was the best one I ever ate. Parking is expensive with 35 euros per day. So all good but enough points for improvement.
Ferdinand A — Google review
This was a most disappointing experience after we had been looking forward to staying at Hotel New York for a number of years. The hotel feels as if it has got a crisis of identity and whilst it is a very interesting historic building, I do not feel that it has been well developed into a 4 star hotel. The prime focus of the hotel appears to be the bar/restaurant which is in the prime position at the front of the hotel and is clearly very busy. This makes it very noisy and not a good place for a relaxing birthday dinner. You approach the hotel from the rear and the entrance is tucked away in a corner. It is not well signposted, has weeds growing around rht paving and has a number of steps up to the reception making it very difficult for anyone with impaired mobility. I could not find any mention of this problem on the hotel web site and it was never mentioned when I asked about access before I booked. There was no porter service and only one luggage trolly which was of limited use because of the number of stairs. Many rooms are only accessible by stairs and there were 2 steps in our room. There is no parking at the hotel but there is an excellent private parking garage adjacent to it but this needs to be booked and cost us 54 Euro for 2 days. The room was not to 4 star standards and lacked a number of things like fridge, USB charging points and easily accessible power sockets. The bed side light switches were also a long stretch from the bed. The bathroom had been modernised and was very good, it is a shame that the room had also not been given a suitable makeover. Food in the restaurant at dinner was very good but the overall dining experience was spoilt by the noise levels and hussle and bussle, it was more like a city centre bar than a 4 star restaurant. The breakfast buffet was nothing special and the staff at breakfast clearly did not want to be there. We ended up cutting short our stay because the difficulty of accessing the hotel was causing my Wife distress as she has impaired mobility. The hotel has a fabulous location and a great history but I do not feel that it has been developed very well. The developers should take a look at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool to see what a great job can be done of developing such an old historic building. If we had not been to the Delft WestCord hotel and had an excellent stay, I would be avoiding this company in future.

Great hotel; slightly dated but that’s part of the charm. Amazing building. Good breakfast. Only reason it isn’t a 5 stars from me is because we tried to have a drink in the bar (not the exclusive, need to book downstairs one just the normal main bar) but there was a huge queue (despite several empty tables) and we were told that despite being hotel guests we had to wait alongside the non guests. Wouldn’t expect to have to do that. Otherwise great.
Sam T — Google review
Hotel New York offers stylish design and spacious rooms, each decorated with carefully chosen, original pieces that give the place a unique charm. My room view was very lovely, looking to Erasmus bridge. I stayed in April when the weather was wet and cold, and while the atmosphere was wonderful, the room heating was unfortunately not sufficient, which made the stay less comfortable than expected. Keep in mind to bring warm clothes to wear in the room :)
Isil A — Google review
If you are in Rotterdam and taking a Holland America cruise, you should 100% book at this hotel for a stay before your cruise. The hotel is really cool. Historic but new feeling. They have done a wonderful job turning this "office building" into a collection of great rooms with great views. We arrived the day before our cruise and checked-in easily. Walked down to the Foodhallen and had a relaxed meal and some drinks. The morning of our cruise, we enjoyed a great breakfast at the hotel and then simply walked 2 minutes down to the ship. CRAZY EASY!!! Love this hotel!!
Jeff W — Google review
Disappointing experience from the start. There was no smile, no sense of welcome at the entrance. While we were waiting, the staff member who asked about reservations didn’t even look at us, instead speaking past us to people behind. A simple acknowledgment of the first couple in line would have been the respectful approach. Another colleague later handled things more appropriately, but by then the poor first impression was set. The bar wasn’t crowded, yet we were left waiting unnecessarily, only to be told in the end to “just choose a place at the bar.” If that was the plan all along, there was no need to waste our time. The bartender was the one positive note—friendly and attentive—but overall the service at the entrance left a very negative impression. When staff give the impression they don’t want to be there, it makes guests feel unwelcome. Not worth the hype. Won’t be returning.

The City Hall Rotterdam is a neo-renaissance building from 1914, which escaped the World War II bombings. The building was designed by Henri Evers to accommodate the spaces which the previous council hall could not. As a prominent historical landmark and symbol of Dutch survival during World War II, the city hall is an excellent place to visit in Rotterdam for 30 minutes or less.
What a magnificent building this city hall is! It's worth a visit simply to admire the architecture. The entrance on the left of the building, opposite the police station, is for civil registry. When you want to take photographs please ask the guard (s) for permission and make sure your photos are devoid of people.

Travelsalot1988 — Google review
A Rare Survivor with a Story to Tell Rotterdam is known for its modern architecture, but the Stadhuis (City Hall) is one of the few historic buildings that survived the 1940 bombing — and it shows. With its ornate sandstone facade, arched windows, and beautiful courtyard, it stands proudly on the Coolsingel as a reminder of the city’s pre-war identity. Built between 1914 and 1920, the building mixes Renaissance and Beaux-Arts influences, and is filled with symbolic details — lions, angels, and crests representing peace, justice, and resilience. You can admire it from outside, or if you're lucky enough to catch it open for a public event or guided tour, the interior is just as impressive. As TourGuys, we often stop here during our city tours. It’s not just a photo opportunity — it’s a place where we share stories about the destruction and rebuilding of Rotterdam, and how this one building managed to remain standing while nearly everything around it was flattened. Tip: Walk around the side to discover the peaceful inner courtyard — a quiet little gem in the middle of the city. The Stadhuis isn’t just beautiful — it’s symbolic, resilient, and essential to understanding Rotterdam’s past.

The first stop on our quick walking tour of the 'old town?' part of Rotterdam was the Stadhuis. What a grand old building.
Graham T — Google review
As a tourist, this is one of the most spectacular, pieces of period architecture that was spared by WW2 in Rotterdam. It’s elaborate, classy and gorgeous. You can roam around at your own accord and try to go in the early evening so you can wonder at the spectacular garden when it’s illuminated
David M — Google review
Really nice city hall with an amazing garden
Li - — Google review
The Stadhuis (City Hall) of Rotterdam is a magnificent example of early 20th-century architecture, completed in 1920. It is one of the few buildings in the city center that survived the bombings of World War II. The interior is equally impressive, featuring grand murals, elegant marble details, and intricate woodwork. The murals within the Stadhuis are captivating, depicting scenes of historical and cultural significance, adding to the grandeur of the hall. The marble fireplace, with its ornate gold accents and classic design, stands as a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. Visitors to the Stadhuis are often struck by the building’s stately presence and the sense of history it embodies. It is not only a functioning government building but also a monument that reflects the resilience and spirit of Rotterdam. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply looking for a beautiful place to visit, the Stadhuis of Rotterdam offers a unique and enriching experience.

This is not just the biggest library in Rotterdam city, but for me it's the most well-equipped library in the Netherlands, I've visited libraries in many cities, but this one is really modern and especial. The facility is equipped with many many services and spaces which allow you to get your work done, whether it's study group or work group, you will find the best place here to finish it. You can also meet many new people here, they have many groups which organize gatherings to play games or learn the language or just to have a chat

Eiland van Brienenoord offers a beautiful and peaceful swimming spot a bit outside the city center of Rotterdam. Although it requires a short trip to get there, the journey is well worth it. Unlike some of the more crowded urban swimming areas, this spot is surrounded by lush greenery and feels much more spacious and natural. The water quality is good, and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it an ideal place to unwind and enjoy nature without the hustle and bustle. It’s perfect for those who want to escape the city crowds and spend time in a calmer, more scenic environment. Facilities are basic, so it’s a good idea to bring your own supplies, but the natural beauty more than compensates. Overall, Eiland van Brienenoord is a hidden gem for swimming and relaxing in nature close to Rotterdam, especially when you want to enjoy a quieter, greener setting away from the busy city spots.

I first came here in 2019 and it started its process to a revamp. Trees where chopped down everywhere and I could tell it could be a nice place but I wasn't at that time. This was still the case in 2020. In 2021 I was not able to get onto the Brienenoord. The bridges were blocked off and the bigger work to make Brienenoord flourish had begun. Today I went to have a look and all accesses were open and alot has been done. The cows where walking around. Grills placed. Many wooden docks and pathways. Newly planted trees and shrubs. The visitors house was open again for coffee/tea takeaway. I'm curious to see how nature will take to the changes and I will return in the summer.

Super service comparable to Douglas in big mall in Den Haag. Here girls are really welcome, pay attention to you, can really recommend something, professionally choosing the product depending on your interest. They also can make a really nice conversation. One advice to a young girl, be more carefull with adding info while registration and packing product as a gift. It was not done well.

Nice walkway with many stores and some department stores. Few options to have a meal and less options to sit and have a cup of a coffee. Plaswijckpark is a delightful family park located just an 8-minute drive from Rotterdam's city center. It offers a range of attractions including an adventure playground, boat and train trips, as well as a zoo featuring monkeys and wallabies. The park also boasts a theater, gentle mechanical games in the playground, and nature paths for hiking. Families can enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant which offers a variety of dishes catering to both adults and children.
Fantastic picnic park. A lot of thing to do to keep your kids busy. Adults can have cool time off, sitting under a tree with books, take a walk between animals, water park to play with your kids. Truly a fun day to remember. 10 to 7 is the time. Parking fill quickly. Come prepared. Picnic trolleys are handy. Kids stroller as well. Food restaurants are inside, but bring some along if you don't get a chance to get something quickly or if you are in the middle of the pool. Fries, icecreams, sandwiches and pancakes are available in the restaurants.

Amazing place with lots of things to do. Animals, water, playgrounds, train.. my kid enjoyed it to the fullest.

Lovely park with lots of fun! The indoor park is not nice at all so it's not suitable for rainy days. Also not suitable for smaller kids. The park has pools, little farm, food (on the expensive side), and several activities. My kids love it. The pictures are from the winter skating. Quite nice though rather dangerous due to the low maintenance.

We went for the younger kids Halloween our 5 and 6 year olds where bored. We where sad to see half the park wasn't decorated. However we had a good time

Absolutely amazing place. We have been twice already and you can definitely spend an entire day here. It caters to the needs of kids of all ages. I went with my 6 and 2 year old. And there was plenty to do for both. Small playgrounds, big playgrounds, Indio playgrounds (especially when it gets rainy), a little farm, train ride, rides for big kids, merry go round, boat rides, paddle boating etc etc. there is a nice cafeteria as well as little icecream corners. There are benches so you can bring your own picnic. And there are quite a few restrooms for kids and adults. Highly recommend this place!

Nice pet farm, there are two indoor playgrouds, lots to do for the kids outside as well. The restaurant was also good, food was nice for a resonable price

Five starts are not enough. This part is very safe, very interesting, very educative, and comprehensive in many many ways. I would recommend this park for any family with children between the age of 1 to 14 years. I believe they can do a lot here and they can develop their children from many aspects in this park. I wish this park all the best, and I have it always keep it as good organized as we have always seen it before.

Mill
Located in the charming Delfshaven district, Korenmolen de Distilleerketel is a picturesque windmill with a rich history. Although it was constructed in 1986, the site exudes an old-world charm and offers visitors a glimpse into the past. The mill is still operational, producing flour as it has for decades. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from the top of the windmill and engage with a knowledgeable miller who is available to answer questions about its operations.
I visited the windmill during a self-guided walking tour using VoiceMap App. The tour led me right to this beautifully preserved windmill, providing interesting facts along the way. It's a stunning piece of history that adds to the charm of the area. Definitely worth a visit!
Marcos G — Google review
*“Korenmolen de Distilleerketel is a must-see in Rotterdam’s historic Delfshaven. The windmill itself is beautiful, full of history and charm. What really stood out to me was the warm atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff – they make you feel truly welcome. Inside, there’s a small shop where you can find different types of flour, tasty handmade cookies, and other local products. For families, there are traditional games for children, and sometimes even live music, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Climbing to the top is a highlight – the stairs are a bit narrow and steep, but the stunning view of Delfshaven makes it absolutely worth it. If you want to experience authentic local culture while having a lovely day, I highly recommend visiting this place.”*

Very interesting historical landmark with view point on the second floor in Delfshaven. Check it out, educate yourself and have a nice conversation. We were lucky to be there on the open monument day including the experience of some Batuque music by a group of Cape Verdian women.

When visiting the historical area of Rotterdam, I got so excited that this windmill is open for anyone to explore! It was great fun to climb the ladders to get to the top, there’s art around and the shop downstairs is simply adorable, with Dutch old books and little souvenirs. The man that runs it is so kind and funny too! Also, €5 entry for adults and €4 for students is very good and a bargain for this experience!
Mariia M — Google review
We visited the Delfshaven just to walk around and take in the lovely views and when we went to the windmill we realised we could look around. The price was 5 Euros each and wow was it worth it. We were introduced to the Miller, who was such a lovely guy and very informative about the windmill, his English was amazing as well and he could speak a few different languages. In all, we were in the windmill for nearly an hour and half and really enjoyed it. Also there are some great views and selfie shots from the decking of the windmill. I would definitely recommend a visit to the windmill 100%👍🏻
Dean E — Google review
I had just arrived in Delfshaven and was walking around aimlessly just to see the area. I saw the windmill and decided I’d take the walk to get to it. I am so glad I did! I wasn’t able to go up because I have a bad knee and the stairs are a bit steep for my liking, but it was still so worth it because Evan (the owner) is an incredibly lovely man. We talked for a while and I got so into the conversation I even forgot to buy anything! I wish I had though because he is the kind of person you want to support in whatever way you can. Plus, the windmill is beautiful. Seriously, go check it out for the history, the vibes, the shop, and for Evan!
Danielle B — Google review
Unfortunately the windmill was closed during my visit today. I should have paid attention to the opening days/hours! However I'd like to show the photos of the beautiful surroundings. It's really worth a couple of hours exploring the colourful area of Delftshaven
Dr S — Google review
We wanted to visit the Delftshaven area of the city of Rotterdam because we knew it was full of history, plus the windmill was a big draw for us. We thoroughly enjoyed going inside the windmill. Edwin was so kind and helpful and for a small fee (€5 for adults, free for children under 12) we were able to climb up to the top of the mill. It was so cool and it has been beautifully reconstructed. We also had a delicious cup of coffee in the windmill and there was a nice selection of souvenir items in the shop

Heritage museum
De Ster is a must-visit spot in the Netherlands, featuring two iconic windmills dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. These fully operational windmills are open to the public and continue to grind spices and ingredients for snuff tobacco. Visitors can witness these historic Dutch designs in action, making it an impressive sight when the windmills are turning and fulfilling their intended purpose.
Nice windmill on the edge of the lake. Not only a great photo opportunity, but you clean also visit the mill. It is now used to grind spices, and if you enter the store you will be smelling a very pleasant and strong smell of spice! We saw the mill in action, with two giant stones grinding the spices, driven by wind power. There is a small museum with the history of the mill, and a small store selling cinnamon, nutmeg, curry, and all kinds of spice mixes in cute metal tins. They also sell cookies baked with their spices. Lovely gifts! The staff was wonderful and kind. We bought several cookies and spices to take home.

A really nice mill which actually works and you can go inside and have a look at a working mill. The staff was also so nice and friendly. On top they take some time to explain everything, plus there is a little shop inside.

Unfortunately, it was closed when I passed this mill. But it is a wonderful spot. They sell spices here that they have ground themselves. There are guides to tell about the mills (coincidentally, they had a poster up saying they were looking for new guides ... ). If we want to make the world a little greener, maybe we should have more of these places.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for readers of all ages and backgrounds to connect.

Geweldig. Duizenden gratis boeken. Je kan er ook boeken inleveren overigens. Ook om de kletsen met andere buurtgenoten. I am not quite sure how to react to other reviews here. It seems Marlowe Castagna isn't 100% satisfied with the "Leeszaal" experience (Scroll up or down for his review). There is no reason to think he is exaggerating or making stuff up. I usually just go in there, grab a book about a subject I happen to be interested in and leave. Sometimes I ask if they really don't care about getting the book back. That's it. I think many people here are not 100% enlightened. Younger people are older people are not. It will get better eventually.

I bought the Rotterdampas instead of the Museumkaart this year. And I regret it. First of all, I could not use it since I bought it 2 months ago, as the app log in is not working and the solution the customer service provided (took a week to reply to my Email) is not helping. Also, I contacted 2 of the businesses who are listed to have special deals (cooking school and beauty) but none of them replied. The advetising states you can go to a several cinemas ad watch a movie, BUT: The 3 D movies are not free, you cannot jst go and show your pas, it is a complicated procedure via the app (which I cannot get into). I also agree with a previous comment that it is not right that people with a normal salary (and already financiate lots of public services, arts and culture with the high tax we pay) need to pay much more than those who do not work. It should be EUR 20 for all, to be afforable and a balanced approach.

(Translated by Google) Location beautiful. Service very friendly. The food here continues to disappoint me. I had the fish curry. Unfortunately an unattractive thick gray mess of hard vegetables (indefinable because everything had the same gray color) and the occasional piece of fish. I like spicy food but this was too hot. The combination with Couscous and 2 small pieces of dry naan bread made it a strange dish. The 3 stars are for location and service. Unfortunately the food is not a star. Shame. (Original) Locatie prachtig. Bediening heel vriendelijk. Het eten blijft me hier opnieuw erg tegenvallen. Jammer.

(Translated by Google) Once again the service was good and friendly. Always nice to enjoy such a historic place. (Original) Weeral goed en vriendelijk bediend geweest. Altijd leuk om te genieten op zo een historische plaats.

Historical landmark
Nestled amidst the modern skyscrapers of Rotterdam, Het Schielandshuis stands as a remarkable relic from 1665. Crafted by the same architect behind notable structures like the Waag in Gouda and the Mauritshuis in The Hague, its stunning facade provides a captivating juxtaposition to the contemporary cityscape. Throughout its rich history, this elegant edifice has played various roles, including serving as headquarters for the water board and once housing part of the Boymans Museum collection.

Nestled atop the BigShops shopping center, this expansive rooftop park offers a serene escape with its lush greenery, tranquil ponds, and ample seating areas perfect for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls among the trees or engage in playful activities with children. The park's unique design was shaped by community collaboration, ensuring it reflects the needs of local residents while being maintained by dedicated volunteer groups.
Opened in 2014, Dakpark is built atop a parking garage, making it one of the largest rooftop parks in Europe, spanning over 4 hectares. Recreational Facilities: The park includes walking paths, playgrounds, sports fields, and picnic areas, catering to diverse activities for families, sports enthusiasts, and nature lovers.

Got better understandings of how Dutch people protect their resident at the same time allting space for commercial use. The roof area is an awesome park for chilling out and refresh.
Young N — Google review
What an absolutely wonderful phenomenon: rooftop park above a shopping street (Big Shops) on one side and residential area on the other side. Due to water shortage most of the grass has turned brown but that doesn't spoil the beautiful views. This area is reachable by tram line 23
Dr S — Google review
Dakpark is an incredible modern day over the roof park. There is a whole commercial area beneath it where you can find lots of markets. Coming to the park itself, It is a beautiful park to spend time with family especially in the summer, there is plenty of space to even do bbq. A nice, serene place to take chill out and let the children enjoy. There are some sprinklers too to get your feet wet in the hot weather. Overall, a fantastic and well maintained park.

Nature & Parks
Historische Tuin Schoonoord is a hidden gem in Rotterdam, located near the Euromast Park. Despite its central location, it offers a quiet oasis with unique plants, bee colonies, and charming carp-filled ponds. The garden provides a serene environment with benches to relax and enjoy the historical trees and plants labeled in Dutch. Visitors can escape the city's hustle and bustle to read a book or have a peaceful date surrounded by greenery.
Quite a few people on TikTok highlighted this place as a hidden gem worth walking to and through — it did NOT disappoint. A beautiful, tranquil green space to visit on a date, or to simply enjoy peace & quiet.
Denver B — Google review
Tucked within The Park (het Park) where the Euromast is located.....an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the bustling city. Ideal for strolling especially during dry sunny days...The entrance is at Kievietslaan.
Dr S — Google review
Nice a calm small garden. A real hidden gem.
Nhơn N — Google review
The Secret Garden next to the park is such a beautiful hidden spot in Rotterdam — perfect for a peaceful walk or to take some stunning photos. It’s amazing how quickly you forget you’re still so close to the city center; it really feels like stepping into nature. The atmosphere is calm and romantic, making it a great place for a relaxed date or just to unwind and enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by greenery.
Constantinos F — Google review
A delightful, lovely, small garden but with beautiful historical trees and plants which carry name plates in front of them in Dutch. Plenty of benches to have a break and enjoy the serene environment. The garden is easily accessible from the centre of the city. It is very close to Het Park.
Mohammed S — Google review
A hidden gem in Rotterdam. A quaint little park with benches, a fountain, and a variety of plants (nothing too exotic) awaits in the heart of Rotterdam. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a moment of serenity—unless a loud helicopter flies overhead. (You're a stone's throw away from the hospital, after all.) There are no food or drink vendors in the park, so bring your own from the conveniently located Albert Heijn just a short walk away. There are bins throughout the park so don't litter! It's absolutely worth your time.
Carlo B — Google review
Tranquil little pocket park that's easy to miss. Easy short strolls amid lush vegetation and hidden fountains. Small aviary and beehive as well. Clearly a scenic place with wedding photographs happening during my visit.

Park
The Wijkpark Oude Westen is a large park in the center of Rotterdam with many different attractions such as a pond, playgrounds, gardens and a zoo. It's a great place to spend a day if you're in the area!
Nice, large open area in the middle of Rotterdam central. Was here for a vegan festival. Lots of stands, music, and places to sit down to eat. The grassy green spot is surrounded by the characteristically Rotterdammer buildings, which is also pretty neat.
Jonas — Google review
A very nice and calm park to clear your mind with a beautiful view on central station of rotterdam
Hamza B — Google review
Mostly some fields with trees and shrubs around. Suitable for picnics or playing. Plenty of benches, small playground, some farm animals and a community garden that's accessible for visitors (separate opening hours). Frequently used for events. Note that security closes the gates sometime in the early evening.
Lisanne — Google review
Quite and nice park in Rotterdam, it's really small but just to relax and chill out is perfect
Goffredo C — Google review
Nice place to take a rest in city center. Nice, quite and soo green. Love it
Witek — Google review
During the recent heatwave where the temperature reached 42°c, I took cover here from the midday sun. The park is really sweet and centrally located. There is a small play park area and botanic garden. Rather unusually there is a free toilet with a tap for drinking water.
Sarah — Google review
A park in the middle of the city and Chinatown of Rotterdam. The Kruiskade side is often used for festivities but normally a peaceful place to sit down and relax. However when you walk further inside it is absolutely shocking. It's run down, unkempt and unpleasant. The public toilet is gross and filthy. What a great shame! Please note that the 'Wijk Tuin' at the very back of the park is lovely and is privately maintained.
