This is a great public golf course. For being so cheap, the facilities are kept in good condition. The driving range now has top tracer (like track man) technology, which is free to use for all. All the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, which is a breath of fresh air from the usually stiff and posh environment in other American golf courses.
The red course is a great course for beginners or for a quick 9 holes, featuring all par 3s. The course isn’t in great condition, but that’s to be expected with the volume of beginners who play there and for the cheap price. That being said, the greens are in very good shape.
The white course is a step up from the red in that some holes are longer and more difficult; it does not feature one par five so is a great course for intermediate golfers or for advanced golfers wanting to improve their short game.
The blue course is their signature 18 hole course. It is in very good shape and is the most difficult. At every hole one can enjoy gorgeous views of the monument.
After a session at the driving range or course, one can enjoy many delicious food options at the clubhouse restaurant. Nothing beats a nice greasy burger after a long tiring golf session. Prices for food are relatively expensive; but I’d much rather keep it this way if it means keeping the driving range and course fees cheap.
Overall I highly recommend East Potomac Golf Links for golfers of all skill levels. It’s a perfect place to come and play a serious round of golf at the Blue course; or for a laid-back, casual and fun time at the driving range or at the red/white course.

This “municipal course” is absolutely awesome. To play golf with the Washington monument among other historical buildings in your backdrop on several holes is enough to make this an amazing round. BUT the greens are extremely well maintained, the course is not very challenging but fun still, and being smack in the middle of the Potomac makes this an absolutely beautiful round. Oh yeah, and you cannot beat the price. It’s also a very short cab ride from downtown. I took an e bike with my bag on my back on the trip home to the hotel at H and 11th. Designated bike path on 15th makes it a safe and a super fun ride home. Bring your clubs when you travel to DC and play here. It’s worth it.

I know this is one of the busiest public courses around but absolutely horrible course. Fairways were rough, tee boxes had little to zero grass, greens were patchy and divots everywhere, cart paths were in horrible condition, driving range balls everywhere outside of the driving range, sand was rock hard, where do I stop. It was good to get out and swing the clubs while visiting, and every staff member I met there were all super nice. But I will not be returning just due to the fact of the poor condition of the course.

There are only four golf courses in Washington, D.C. and my golfing friends say this is the best. Located on Hains Point, the views of the National Mall and Arlington across the river are beautiful, especially for sunrise and sunset. The course is well maintained, comes with a cafe, parking, and more. Another plus is the mini golf, the oldest in the entire country! My buddies and I planned out a sunday trip to go golfing here, seemed like a cool course, wanted to go have some fun as a fouresome. We checked in, had a smooth experience, walked to the white course for our 1:10 pm tee time. What time did we tee off? 1:30! The group infront of us had at least 7 people playing as singles, they had no course respect, this led to a horrible experience. We went hoping for a memorable and fun experience, but left with the memories of standing around. I wouldnt have been so mad if I wasnt on a tight schedule, we planned for the round to take just over 2 hours, it took 4 HOURS! This was ridiculous, and i didnt see a single ranger to report the issue. Extremely frustrating, wish we couldve had an enjoyable time at this course.

We had a terrible experience trying to play footgolf here. Could not even finish a hole and had go ask for a refund… The footgolf course goes through the golf courses, both are practically being played in parallel, so you have to watch out for golfers’ balls. Also, you can’t play in peace for two reasons:
1. Not many people seem to be aware that this is also a footgolf course or that footgolf even exists/is allowed. In our first hole a group of golfers started yelling at us asking us to leave and “go play soccer somewhere else”. We had to stop what we were doing and explain to them that this is in fact allowed.
2.the tee times are the same for both golf and footgolf so you have to keep up with the golfers’ pace which is not possible because for 1 golf hole, there are 3 footgolf holes (distance in holes for footgolf are shorter). All of this while explaining to all the groups that kept showing up in each hole….

In the middle of the Capital area,.not a bad place. On a Tuesday, it was steadily busy up past 7pm. Double decker driving range and multiple practice putting greens. This 18-hole course wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Being in mid-April in VA, it still wasn't up to a lush summertime presentation yet. The greens had been airaited within a week or so, making them a bit bumpy. I had a couple approach shots landing just short of the green that took crazy bounces due to the grass there being inconsistent and sometimes being non-existent. Tee boxes have seen better days. They were chewed up, leaving hardly any grass along with a difficult time finding a level surface. A mostly straight course and all flat, with a few trees in your way. Multiple services are available to do work on your cluds, as well as a loaded clubhouse with a restaurant that was built about 100 years ago. Overall, it's a place I'd come back to.

17MAR.2025 This historical 18 hole golf course is beautiful and nice staff at Langston Grille. Don’t try to call the restaurant, no one answers the phone. The food is made to order(especially the eggs). The omelette 🍳 w/veggies and turkey sausage. And the French fries are huge steak fries.
I know this is a historical spot, would love if proper updated renovations could be done with some serious, generous financial donations. This place deserve that and more.

It was a privilege to finally visit this historic golf range. I had passed it for years and only stopped in when I took my nephew for his lesson. The Langston range is a gem rich with history, purpose, and a great range. We are so grateful that they offer lessons to youngsters in the summer. There is a wonderful golf supply store and cafe.

All the staff were kind — from the front desk to the field managers — and everyone greeted us with a smile. The green fee was also very reasonable. However, I felt the facilities could really use some improvements. They seemed quite outdated, and I would have gladly paid a bit more to play at a renovated course.

My tee time got cancelled because of flash flood. I went into the pro shop to make sure I got a refund. They told me they refunded, or at least they would, and they never did.
edit: I called and they said this is a continuous problem! As in multiple people have cancelled and not gotten their money back. I own and run two businesses myself, not really sure how you can have a system that doesn't give refunds properly -- unless it's on purpose, of course. My best advice is don't book with this course unless you are certain you will play, even through lightning, thunder and flash floods. I've never played on the course itself but I haven't heard the greatest things, so I'd stay clear from it in general if I were you.

I had the opportunity to visit the putting range at a class reunion hosted by the Black Golfer Association. It’s a place worth patronizing, rebuilding, and supporting. The food truck served amazing catfish and more, and the instructors made it a fun, memorable time.

Great layout, good practice greens, decent greens on the course, but they have 5 different types of grass on their fairways and rough making for a completely inconsistent feel and lousy fairway conditions. Course is in excellent condition all around: tees, fairways, greens and bunkers. The greens showed some faint signs of the spring aeration but they rolled true. There's a good variety of shots: elevated tees, blind tee shots, elevated greens, downhill approaches, good bunkering. All in all an interesting play.

The starter held us up to go behind 4 walkers who's foursome was not all there for over 20 min. even though there was no one near the tee box ready to go. and after he let a threesome go 20 minutes earlier as I waited for my golf buddy. We had a great day golfing on this hilly challenging executive golf course. Jimmy and Jerome, the Pro Shop employees, are friendly and helpful. Doug and Cowboy are both pleasant starters. The pace of play was perfect. We saw deer, a wild turkey, and many birds on this course. I could only give it 4 stars as the golf carts and cart paths are super worn out. We are excited to hear they will upgrade this course in the near future. We plan to play this course again, admist it's age. I arrivedearly at RCP for my 12:30 Tee TIme today (10/5/25) and went up to the counter to check in. After standing there with my group of 3 for about 20 seconds we said "hello" to the man behind the desk as he had far more important things happening on his phone with his feet up. Another 10 or so seconds later the man still ignored us until I said "I have 12:30 Tee Time, I just want to check in". Very rudely he said something to the tone of: "You want to give me a name or something?" I provided him with the name of our reservation and said "We also rented some clubs online" to which he said "No you didn't". Here he was correct as I did not book the reservation and thought we had; ( ok, but we still needed the clubs?). Irregardless it was rude and unprofessional. Eventually he rang us up and we were on our way. This whole interraction may not seem like much but his whole demeanor had me questioning if I had just slapped his mother in front of him, so much so that I had to ask my friends if I was in the wrong or had a poor tone. I am very new to golf, this was my second experience outside of a driving range and frankly I will not be returning. East Potomac will have my business from now on.

I loved the sushi here. It is an unassuming restaurant. When you get in, you’ll order and pay first then either take your food to go or get your table assignment and be sent upstairs. On a random day in DC browsing thru the Apple Store, I discovered the DC History center that is located on the second floor of the historic Carnegie Library.
At the time of my visit, the pop up exhibit entitled DC Home Rule 50 was on display. The collection of images highlights topics such as DC statehood and full citizenship.
I was very intrigued by the panoramic photos of black culture in the 1950’s & 1960’s. Especially the junior high school picture of Marvin Gaye.

It's unfortunate the apple store fills most of the building with audio, BUT... it's still worth checking out. It's great for a quick visit, as the exhibits aren't large and if you're like me and like to read most/all of the information presented, you could probably view them all in an hour or so. This place got me hooked onto jazz clubs and cheesecake so I might be biased but… this establishment is amazing.

I went last year during my summer in DC has a last hooray. At first, I was a little unnerved by the back alley vibes (I was a young Black woman by myself with no family in DC) but was quickly settled when seeing the cozy tables that were greeting me. My server was attentive and detailed, and quickly got me my shrimp cocktail and delicious pineapple ginger mocktail. Seriously SO good.
The show quickly started after that with some of the grooviest saxophone playing I’ve heard to this date. Lovely bit of crowd interaction without getting too rowdy, and the gentleman on the drums was phenomenal. I had ordered my cheesecake a few minutes before the kitchen closed and it completely converted me from a cheesecake hater to a cheesecake lover.
It didn’t feel like a club, but a jazz lounge with a crowd interested in the fantastic set (which was the perfect length) and the great food. If you like a more rowdy bunch, I’d try somewhere else.
One of my most prized memories in DC and if I ever have the opportunity, I will absolutely come back. Worth every penny. Thanks Blues Alley!

For jazz music, it is hard to beat the sound quality. We've seen Joey Alexander at Blues Alley three times and it's always amazing. No matter who you see, for sound the only advice I give is not to sit close to the drummer. By nature, the drums will drown out.
Get there early as seating is MOSTLY first come first serve but I get the sense they do reserve some tables.
This last time, we (2 of us) were in early and sat at the same 2nd row table we sat at before. Shortly after, we were told to move because the table was for 4 people. The front two seats at that table were against a support column where no one would really want to sit. They suggested we move to along side wall which was already shoulder to shoulder. A lone gentleman was nice enough to slide so my wife and I could sit on the end at the back side of the stage. On one hand, 3 feet from Mr. Alexander playing is unique, but piano blocked view of the drummer and partially blocked view of the bass.
We'll return for our preferred artists in the future. The sound and clientele are worth it. The overall feel of the club is more tight than "intimate" but it is the epitome of a jazz club.

WGCC is close enough to DC and many surrounding areas that you can have your choice of ceremony and portrait locations - on or off site. The location has a cute pagoda with pretty lights and wooden lawn chairs where parents can wait during the class if they want. We had a wonderful experience visiting the Kenwood. We came with friends that are members and spent the day poolside. The golf course is beautiful and very well maintained. Having children and growing up as members of a similar club, it is important as parents to let the kids have freedom to explore without directly needing to supervise them. Was just here for a wedding. The service from the club were pretty good. The staff were spectacularly nice and helpful. The outside patio was great with a great view of the course. The Ballroom however was very dated. Almost like they picked a style in the 80s and stuck with it. Also here was a weird smell. It kept making me think I was in a nursing home or old hotel. The lower levels of clubhouse looked very nice though. Was only able to just walk through. The golf course looked pretty nice, would be nice to be able to play it one day. I had mostly given up on lessons after finding instructors talk *at* you for 45 minutes, explaining basic concepts you'll find on any Youtube golf video. But I decided to give it another shot when City Swing had a promo going for lessons. Thankful that I did. Kendall started the lesson by listening -- asking me about my game and what my goals were. I would walk by The Aston and admire it for over three years prior to moving in. When I moved in, it felt like home almost immediately! The building is immaculately maintained and it is very well designed and laid out. The units are extremely generous and well planned out. It seems like every detail was thought out prior to construction. I have lived at the Ashton for 5 years. I do not disagree with the good reviews from 2 years ago, but since then, the building has been sold to a group that has really ruined what is still a beautifully done building. There is no longer 24 hour staffing at the front desk. Packages are lost, residents are not told of deliveries. Routine maintenance is no longer done. There have been electrical disasters and flooding (after they improperly tested the sprinkler system). Throughout these problems, management has become less responsive and is no longer even apologetic, simply ignoring calls and emails.
