Élesztő, also known as Yeast, is a unique and trendy venue located in a former glassworks building. This post-industrial space offers a wide range of experiences, from the largest selection of Hungarian artisan beers on tap to beer-tasting and brewing classes. Additionally, visitors can enjoy delicious and affordable pub fare, hot chocolate and cakes at the cozy café, or refreshing drinks at the health food juice bar.
Very good craft beers, including sour and IPAs. Very reasonable prices (~1750 ft avg. for an IPA). Friendly service, industrial decor. Nice atmosphere, no music on the patio probably due to the neighbors. Very good choice if you like craft beer, didn’t try the food.
C S — Google review
Brewery vibe, tried 2 different IPAs but nothing really beats exceptional. Bench-style seats not very comfortable if you planning an evening drinking. Staff were ok. Food was good.
Rabii K — Google review
Bit of a find although have been here in a previous life! It’s a beer gastropub as well as serving smoked meats. You sit in a covered yard and you have a couple of bars and food counters dotted around you. Can be a bit pricey for what it is but on the whole food is okay, you pay for mayonnaise, no sauces no mustard no ketchup. They did bring the food to the table and it was quite quick service but then again it wasn’t that busy. Can you imagine this being a really nice place when there’s a busy crowd here?
Simon B — Google review
Very nice atmospheric place, good beer, big selection of beers. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes for 2 beers even though there was just few people in front of us… The bartender was very very slow and inexperienced.
John C — Google review
Great food, really good beers, awesome place . What do you need more?
Barkó A — Google review
Great find. I wasn't sure what I signed up for walking through a more residential area and then you turn into the corridor and can't help but smile. It's perfect! They have 2 bars, we were shown our reserved table (highly recommend) and went up to order the beers. Nice guys, switched to English with ease. Food was from a different counter and delicious. We had a great evening at this brewery.
Joanna — Google review
Always great variety of beers on tap, bottled alcohol free beer available too. Food options are not many but the food is delicious and served quickly. It gets a bit hot inside in winter and it is good to book table if you come Friday-Saturday evenings.
Elena K — Google review
Excellent spot that separates the bars to reduce waiting time. The craft beer bar has a varied selection with voodoo being my particular favourite. The spirits bar opposite mixed up a superb G&T. The place was packed with people imbibing and laughing. I like the minimalist style too.

Brasserie
HOPS BEER BAR BUDAPEST is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts. With an impressive selection of eleven beers on tap and over 250 bottles and cans, there's no shortage of options to explore. From unique flavors like cloudy lemonade to triple fruited mango, apple berry, and key lime pie, there's something for every palate. The bar also offers live music, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Great craft beer bar with 11 different keg beers on offer when we vivisted, as well as cans and bottles in the fridge. Most of the keg beers were local, but they also had a lot of imported beers in the fridge if you're after something a bit different. The place is nicely decorated with some great hand drawn artwork as well as walls covered in beermats from all over the world. There's limited seating downstairs, however if it's busy there are more tables upstairs.
James G — Google review
Great pub with a good selection of beers on tap. What is particularly interesting is that they serve their beer in either 0.33 or ONE LITER mugs, so you only come here if you're serious about your drinking. I've had their wheat beer and it was indeed very tasty. The ambience is nice, typical for such a place. Also no service fee, you pay what you get
Klaus W — Google review
Good craft beer bar with a fantastic selection of cans and beers on tap. Definitely one of the bees bars in Budapest if you are on the hunt for local craft beers
Mel B — Google review
Tiny craft beer bar with a short, but good, beer list. The music was sensational and we really enjoyed our couple of hours there. No food.
Tony A — Google review
Craft beer. Very nice and cozy place. 8-10 taps for drafts and plenty cans and bottles. The atmosphere is great. Surrounded by numerous places for eating . Very good choice
Radomir M — Google review
Buzzing little craft bar. Dark and a bit dingy in a good way. Helpful bar man.
Tim T — Google review
Beer choice and service is excellent. However it’s let down by the choice of music which was overbearing and not for me, but maybe others would like it. It felt more fitting for a nightclub in Berlin. The smell of stale beer was overpowering - definitely time for a jet wash.
R G — Google review
Great bar with an awesome selection of craft beers. Nice to try some local Hungarian beers as well as others from around Europe.

Brewpub
Restaurant
Jónás Craft Beer House is located within the Balna, a glass-fronted cultural and leisure center by the Danube in Budapest. The bar offers its own unique beers, such as the Arany Jónás and Ravasz Hordo, made from malt, hops, water, and yeast. In addition to their own brews, visitors can choose from a wide selection of craft beers and traditional Hungarian fruit brandy palinka.
Friendly, comfortable and clean venue with a welcoming service. The craft beer selection was excellent, well curated and with interesting beers. There are plenty of cans as well to increase the range further.
Julian W — Google review
Child friendly place We had our 2 under 2 sons with us and it was the perfect place. Managed to find a table outside so could park the pram and had some shade under the trees. They have high chairs as well which was a bonus. Massive portions and good flavours, well worth the money. The staff was excellent too. No nappy changing facilities but managed to sort them in the toilet.
Szandra D — Google review
We visited Jónás near Bikás Park, just a few steps from the metro. The place is spacious, with plenty of tables both inside and outside. We sat outside, and with good weather it was really pleasant. The menu is good, the prices are fair, and the drink selection is also solid. If you’re in the area and looking for a nice spot to sit down, I’d recommend it.
Melinda E — Google review
I was passing by and wanted to have a breakfast, the menu is only available in Hungarian but very friendly waiter helped with ordering (he speaks very good English). I’ve ordered pasta (it was delicious) and also two vegan cakes. Very delicious!! The staff is friendly and always asked if we liked everything. I strongly recommend the place.
Yana B — Google review
Nice setting specially if you want to have a nice gathering with a view to the Danube river. Don’t know if the price is good since I was invited. Fast food available. Best at night to watch Budapest lit monuments.
Anne M — Google review
Great place for a couple of decent craft beers. Rather expensive, certainly for a location out of the centre. But craft beer never is cheap. Good and fast service and table service. You can run a tab and pay when leaving.
Will J — Google review
Surprisingly good & reasonably priced. Will come back in the summer to dine outside & chill.
SHANEnanigans — Google review
We pre booked tables outside. It's in a very nice park. I wanted to opt for the best food, so I chose the ribs. The meat was completely dry. I didn't enjoy it the least.

If you're a craft beer enthusiast visiting Budapest, don't miss the FIRST Craft Beer & BBQ. This establishment is at the forefront of Budapest's artisanal ale revolution and hosts a prominent pub and kitchen in the city center. The brewery, located between the Arpad hid and Forgach utca stops on the blue M3 metro line, offers Hungarian-language tours that are usually English-friendly.
If you’re in Budapest and craving bold flavors and chill vibes, this place hits the mark. We came as a group of eight and ordered three of their meat platters for two, and it was more than enough. Everything from the juicy ribs to the smoky pulled pork and crispy wedges was delicious. The coleslaw and grilled corn were solid sides, and the fresh salad balanced it all out. The real surprise? Their selection of house beers. We tried a few of their IPA and lager options, and each had a unique, fresh taste straight from the taps. The atmosphere is cozy but modern with a vaulted brick ceiling and warm lighting. Plenty of space at the bar if you want to hang solo or with friends. Shoutout to the tall curly-haired guy who served us — his attention was top-notch the entire time. Wish we caught his name. Fast, friendly, and always checking in. Highly recommend for anyone who wants great food, craft beer, and a relaxed, stylish setting. Solid 5 out of 5.
Manfry M — Google review
Vibinggggg! 💗 I love that!!!! All IPA are quite too sweet. But Flower one is quite hoppie. Nelson is okay if you like IPA. Sweet as well. Not recommend for cherry if you like the hop hop beer. It’s weird. But if you like cherry it’s very fine and good. Thank you for all services. The crew were so nice and apologised for making the chair drop behind the staff today. I hope he not hurt.
CHONLAPIN V — Google review
Delicious Goulash and Amazing Dessert! I was really impressed with the food here! For dessert, I tried Golden dumplings with vanilla and sour cherry beer custard and it was beautifully presented. I also have a few drinks like: Strongbow, Aperol Spritz The staff were friendly and attentive, and on top of that, the music was really pleasant and created such a good atmosphere.🎶
Gabriela G — Google review
This place is completely amazing. We didn’t know if we should try it, as it’s kind of American themed and we love taking in the local culture when traveling. But their twist on burgers is unreal. Amazing food, beer and cocktails. The staff was everything! So kind, helpful and they play good music. We stayed for hours, even skipping some cultural sights, as the place was just so cool. Our server was Attila and we loved him. He was super knowledgeable and came with great recommendations. We’re from Los Angeles and let me just say they do burgers better than most American restaurants and if you’re into craft beer this is the spot. Do not hesitate. So many thanks to this staff. Extremely warm welcome to Budapest. This spot is one of the reasons why Budapest is my favorite city. Thank you, Attila! You’re the best!!!
Shalon G — Google review
I had such a great experience here! The beer was honestly one of the best I’ve ever tried — perfectly cold and full of flavor. The service was amazing, especially thanks to our waiter Adrian, who was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend! 🍺
Nejra D — Google review
Very friendly staff, great variety of food and fresh and good quality. Lovely atmosphere would highly recommend. Service from Adrian was attentive and friendly.
Faye B — Google review
Funky bar with a good selection of craft beer and good burgers. Location is just off a street but still close to the vibrant area. I opted for their own Voodoo and Hippie, both0.4l which was a good size for me personally.
2 E — Google review
I was just passing by this amazing brewery and I stepped in! The ambience is amazing, the choice of draft beer is huge and the quality is superb! They also will let you stick your own banknote or their wall behind the bar! The bartender lady was kind and helpful! For sure a place to be back again 😉

Kandalló Craft Beer & Burger Pub is a cozy and stylish bar located in Budapest's iconic Jewish quarter. The pub features 16 Hungarian craft brews on tap, including unique options like Black Raven milk stout and Kaltenecker Kras craft lager from Slovakia.
Easily the best burger I had while in Budapest. The Jalepeno burger was great, just the right amout of spice! Nice selection of local craft beers too. Staff friendly and helpful. Great value for money.

Very nice pub. Good food great burgers. Good beer range. Not too silly abv. Friendly staff.
Tim T — Google review
I visited this restaurant with my family on our last night in Budapest, craving a good burger, and we were so happy we found this place. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and we were seated in the air-conditioned section upstairs with no issues. The staff were incredibly warm and professional. Our burgers took a bit of time to arrive, but they were absolutely worth the wait—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our server, Alexandra, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made sure all our specific requests were met. She even helped me practice my Hungarian pronunciation, making the experience both fun and educational. Dining here felt special, not just for the food but for the welcoming and positive energy throughout. Can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Budapest!
Vivan R — Google review
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Stopped by Kandalló Craft Beer while in Budapest and it did not disappoint. The burger was next level — juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Honestly, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I’m sad I didn’t take any photos Tried the Hazy Queen IPA with it and wow, highly recommend.
Finlay A — Google review
Popped in mid afternoon on a Wednesday for a beer and burger. Wasn’t sure what to expect as I was the only customer but was blown away by the burger - cooked fresh, very tasty, and well presented. Beer selection is good and waiter helped with a decision. Lots of tables reserved for the evening so suggest booking. Afternoons appear to be quiet, particularly weekdays. Well worth a visit.
Martin T — Google review
One of the most reliable, consistent, top quality burger places for years. The BBQ is a perennial favourite, the Angus beef is cooked to perfection. It's not classic in the sense that you can only eat it with a knife and fork, and it comes with a couple of baked potatoes, but it's the perfect composition with some garlic sour cream. Not the cheapest, but it's absolutely worth it! ;)
Viktor L — Google review
I visited this restaurant with my mother and sister; it was our last night in Budapest and we were craving burgers and found this place online. The atmosphere was nice, there was AC in the main part of the second floor where I asked to be seated. We were accommodated with zero issue. The staff was very warm and professional. Our burgers took a little while to come out, but they were very much worth the wait--- they were DELICIOUS. our server was Alexandra; she was wonderful. we had some very specific requests on what we wanted and she got it all right! she was attentive, personable and just so cool! her energy was positive; i have been practicing my Hugarian and I felt very comfortable practicing with her; she even helped me pronounce certain sounds of the Hungarian alphabet that I've been struggling with! I am grateful to have had such a positive dining and cultural experience at this restaurant. I look forward to going again whenever I return to Budapest!
Katia — Google review
Kandalló is a local eatery specializing in burgers - that’s pretty much all that’s on the menu. While the burgers are quite good, the beer selection is nice and they have a few good wines, the lack of variety on the menu and the poor quality of some items like nachos and wings really limits the restaurant. Service is spotty as well, unfortunately. If you like Gin and Tonic, you’ll be happy here as they offer excellent tonics and use appropriate botanicals. Also, if you’re an American they do have football on Sunday evenings!

HOPAHOLIC Craft Beer Bar & Food Budapest is a cozy craft beer bar nestled in Budapest's party district, right next to the famous Szimpla Kert ruin bar. The interior is simple and small, offering a contrast to its larger neighbor. The bar boasts an extensive selection of international craft beers sourced from over 250 microbreweries worldwide, along with ten rotating beers on tap.
We had just arrived from the airport and i found this place not too far from our hotel, it was really quiet and the guy behind the bar was so friendly! I got the classic burger which was absolutely unreal and the number 7 Italian pilsner on tap - also so good!

Nice craft beers at decent prices, Very laid back atmosphere. Good place to stop in after eating at another restaurant. The bar tender was very good at suggesting which beers to try when you were ordering a set of samples.

Small but nicely stocked, I found a hazy IPA I liked. The food is provided from across the road somewhere but you order at the bar. I had a margarita which arrived in what felt like 5-10 minutes and was delicious.

One the places with very high quality beers. They aren’t cheap, but it’s worth it over regular beer places. From local breweries, to Belgium, international, they got it all including a relaxed atmosphere. Viktor is awesome!

Amazing local craft beer pub with an astonishing selection of local and international beers. You will find suprises on your palate on every beer you taste. Greatly recommended

Some really good beers on tap from Hungary and the Czech Republic. Wide range of styles and reasonable(ish) prices. Be warned though, this place is an absolute sausage-fest. Mind you, not dissimilar to a lot of craft beer bars around the world!

Neked csak Dezső is a well-established presence in Budapest's craft beer community, having moved to a larger and more refined space on Rakoczi ut from its previous location on Dohany street. The bar continues to offer an diverse array of craft beers, with 32 taps serving up top-quality brews from local, small-scale specialty breweries.
It is a very good place to sit down and chat with your friends with company of various beers. There are dosen of good beers, which you can choose to drink. Beside, you can also find wine and hungarian snaps. The foods are delicious and unique but a little bit expensive. The staffs are kind and helpful.

A large place with “drinking hall atmosphere” and rather tired furniture. Service is not especially fast or cheery, but it’s OK. The beer range is good, with a comprehensive list in English and fair prices for a craft beer place. I tried their own Dezso Vere (American Amber) which I rather liked. However, with so many options for places to visit, I didn’t want to stay for another. The food menu did not look great and poor reviews from others put me off that. Overall, it’s worth a look-in if you are near. And it certainly seems popular with locals. Actually I decided to stay on for the Baltic Porter (a weakness of mine). This one, from the Garden Brewery, was outstanding. No complaints there, but I’m still not convinced by the bar itself.

This place used to be a favourite. I'm not sure what happened but now the food quality has become underwhelming and the service atrocious. I have to amend my previous review and recommend steering well clear of this place now.
Judit T — Google review
I really liked this place! They have very good beer and the food was surprisingly delicious! Like nothing I've had before in a popular "bar" but this place is more than a bar. I had this Eggplant Tartare (pictured) and it was great, the ingredients so fresh and tasty. My friend had the Pumpkin Risotto and she loved it too. Also I liked that they have a lot of spaces for large groups, so you can come for a bday or with coworkers after work. And they also have a private mezzanine with space for like 30 people on a large table. Service was very respectful and spoke English too.
Yaneris — Google review
Reopened at a new location, it seems currently THE best craft beer pub in Budapest. Around 30 taps, huge venue compared to other beer pubs of similar style, still cosy. Quick service with lots of waiters around. Budapest finally deserved such a professional brew pub, finally.
Akos B — Google review
I was perfectly content with the service here. We had a reservation and we were shown to our table immediately as we arrived. The staff was nice, helpful and they were all smiling. The food was delicious and the beers were very good as well. They have a nice selection of beers and a fair one of other beverages as well. Looking forward to visit here again :)

We found out to late about this place. Best IPAs in town and the food was also great. We had fun with the stuff. I can highly recommend, especially if you like crafted beer.

If you're looking for a unique drinking experience in Budapest, look no further than Krak'n Town Steampunk Saloon. This enchanting venue transports you straight into the whimsical world of steampunk, reminiscent of a Jules Verne adventure. Nestled in District VIII, it boasts an impressive selection of 23 taps featuring local artisanal craft beers, including their own creations: Krakn Pils, IPA, and Rubynk.
Great beer with a decent range of offers. Unfortunately we arrived just as the kitchen was closing so we didn't get a chance to try the food, but the quirky steampunk interior and helpful staff makes the visit worthwhile!
Øyvind A — Google review
A very cool place to hang out with friends for a few drinks or to go out for a nice dinner with loved ones. The atmosphere is amazing, especially if you're a steam punk fan: the setup matches the mood, the food is in sync and the beers are tasty and modern. The service sometimes lacks in speed and accuracy, but it's ok overall: the staff is friendly, they speak English quite well and are really polite. The food quality is great; I had the mussels coconut soup and some tabbouleh with grilled vegetables and everything was well done and tasty. My better half had a sirloin steak with creamy truffle potatoes and asked for it to be well done, just to have it rare. Everything was great after the misunderstanding was solved. If you go there and don't feel like eating, at least try the beers: they have great craft beers although they might not always be fully supplied. All in all it's definitely a place to check out multiple times: we will sure be going there soon again to try more amazing, tasty stuff.
Thvs86 — Google review
Steampunk style interior. Helpful staff. IPA beers, home brew and ordinary drinks are also available. Not wide selection / not much focus on cuisine, but meals are tasty. Reservation is not mandatory, but advisable. Prices are not low, but reasonable. Worth the visit!
Sándor S — Google review
A nice craft beer bar with daily rotation of the taps. Had some quite interesting beers here. Food is good but a bit slow. We only ordered simple dishes like sallad and scotch egg but it still took quite some time to prepare. Service was fantastic really good spirited man who even remembered us and what we had liked from a previous night. Prices are a bit above a regular beer bar. But if you are interested in craft beer it is absolutely worth it.
Daniel B — Google review
Amazing venue with friendly staff. Great selection of drinks (very decent cherry lager which I could have drank all evening) good food. Very very lovingly created steampunk theme
Louise W — Google review
Lots of beer choice, short food menu, tasty dishes although quite small portions. If you want to eat as well make sure this is noted during reservation otherwise you can end up at the basement where you can have only drinks as food is only served upstairs.

This place has a great variety of craft beers. They also offer beer tastings which will be good if you just want to sample some of the best beers in Budapest. Must visit for beer lovers.

TETŐ by Mad Scientist is a renowned brewery located on top of the Nyugati-palyaudvar. They are known for their high-quality beers, particularly the "Liquid Cocaine" Imperial IPA and "Mango Bay" Milkshake Pale Ale. The brewery's focus is primarily on brewing IPAs and Sours. TETŐ offers a fantastic rooftop bar with great drinks and food, creating an amazing atmosphere, especially during sunset.
It’s a fantastic place on top of the “Nyugati-pályaudvar”. I really love the beers from Mad Scientist and I really love that they’re growing bigger and bigger. This place I can recomend for chill nigth out. Top of that they have a lot of event, dj, smaller festivals, half price day. The staff is amazing and energetic, they really represent the place where they work. Before i forgot you can eat too, there is the Baan’s kitchen next to it with amazing burgers. Go and check it!

Slightly out of scope for a tourist, but pleasantly surprised about this place. Went on our last night and was a really nice chilled vibe. Although I got a Bohemian lager which was extremely flat. Would definitely come back.

Rooftop bar on the top of mammut. Nice atmosphere. A wide range of drinks. Food options. Each mojito eas different some too sweet! The toilets are in the shopping mall, so you have to go into the mall if you need the toilet.

Great selection of MAD beers. Cute view. Careful to book on football or quiz night to guarantee a spot. Can accommodate big groups !
Amandine G — Google review
Good beer, but unfriendly staff, the food is basic. We asked for a non-alcoholic beer, because we‘re getting a baby and she gave us a beer with 0,2 % alc. can recommend to try the beer and the ambience, but everything else can be a lot better
Didi R — Google review
The service was horrible, i had reserved a table , i went there on time. There was nobody at the entrance to accommodate us, so i went to ask at the bar, but there was a line, so i waited in the line, and when my turn came i asked about my table and the girl just told me to find a blond girl with jeans and she will help me, what kind of answer is that? The place was full of blonde girls in jeans. Anyway i found the girl she told there are no places for me to sit, because i came late so it’s my fault, and I explained to her i was on time but I didn’t find anyone at the entrance so i had to wait in line to ask at the bar and then wander around to find the blonde girl in jeans, and she told me if i want to stay i can just stand , she doesn’t even work there. I have never had such a horrible , rude, arrogant behavior in any other place.

Their lunch menu offers diverse dishes ranging from classic Hungarian to Mediterranean and Far Eastern cuisines. Visitors can enjoy excellent service while savoring core beers or exploring other alcoholic beverages.
Great taproom showcasing the beers of Mad Scientist. Good selection of lagers, IPA's, Stouts and Sours, so there's definitely a beer for everyone. Chilled out, relaxed atmosphere inside and some tables outside are a great place to watch the world go by.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend the grilled watermelon salad, it really didn’t work for me. The cocktails were forgettable too, but the main dishes were good and definitely worth trying. The atmosphere, however, was lovely, and the little hidden street makes it feel really special. Overall, I’d recommend this place more for the vibe than for the food or drinks

MADHOUSE BISTRO & BAR if you are a beer enthusiast, this is the place to be. The selection is truly impressive – they offer a huge variety of craft beers that will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs. The waiters are extremely helpful and kind, which adds to the pleasant atmosphere. The service is fast and of high quality. Although the prices are slightly above average, the quality and scope of the offer definitely justify the cost, especially when it comes to rare beer choices. We didn't try the food, but the dishes we saw on neighboring tables looked very tempting. All in all, Med House Bistro & Bar comes with a strong recommendation for anyone who appreciates excellent craft beer and good service!

Great spot for a drink and some appetizers. We had pálinka and mac and cheese — honestly the best mac and cheese we’ve ever had, even compared to the U.S. Service was excellent, not crowded, and it’s pet-friendly. Perfect place to enjoy a drink outside with your dog.
Viviana C — Google review
Awesome beer bar and restaurant with great selection of beers, great food, super polite staff, very nice hostess and great overall atmosphere. Will come back here for sure. My recommendation!
Marko T — Google review
I cannot speak about the food menu (I'm not rating it), but the times that I've stopped here it was for the beers. A lot of selections, maybe 24, mostly their own but some other brewers and collabs as well. Mixed drinks also. Good stuff. Some reviewers have mentioned the volume of the music if it's playing. That's definitely a thing. If I were here with friends, I'd definitely be shouting and struggling to hear a normal conversation. However, as a business, if they're trying to draw attention from outside...I get it. Just need to find the balance between restaurant and brewpub - whatever that balance is.

KEG sörművház, located in Budapest's Ujbuda neighborhood, is a craft beer bar founded by Zoltan Halasz, known for his blog 'Muvelt Alkoholista.' The former gym has been transformed into a spacious venue with a small stage for live music and TVs for sports matches. The bar offers an extensive selection of nearly 30 types of beers on tap, with most sourced from local breweries.
This is a great craft beer bar/pub that’s conveniently next to a light rail station. There’s some really unique art on the wall as you enter into their cavern area down below. There’s a selection of 32 beers on tap, all from local craft breweries with a small selection from other European countries + UK/US/CAN I tried the Cheeseburger (200g beef patty, cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce, and cocktail sauce) and the bread is noteworthy as it is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burgers don’t come with sides so in addition, I ordered the sweet potato fries which came out super crispy. For the beer, the burger pairs well with B Bop Fermentory’s “Analogue” Gin Fizz Nu Sour. Another thing I like about KEG is that they do offer a few alcohol free beer options for those in the friend group that do not drink.
Tyrone — Google review
Skipped the lines at a much busier tourist spot for a few pints here. No regrets with the wide selection and great service. Not sure how often the 30 or so taps rotate, that said their variety was split between dark ales, IPAs, and sours. The majority was from local or neighboring country breweries which was nice.
Ru S — Google review
This is a fun place with a huge beer selection and an acceptable food menu of mostly burgers. The service is friendly and super fast. It’s a place locals frequent, so you’ll get a pretty typical beerhall experience. It’s bit loud but not to the point where conversation is difficult.
Balazs K — Google review
Great place. Looks like a reservation is important when there is high demand. The atmosphere inside is so charming. The tap beer selections make this place unique in the Buda part of the city. The service is above average compared to the standarts in Budapest. I try to stop by every time I visit as a tourist.
Saral A — Google review
Friendly welcome, clear pricing, excellent range of beers and a comfortable atmosphere. Flights are available and all drinks included in the pricing.
Julian W — Google review
I love to come back to this place over and over again as they manage to keep and improve their quality year by year. The food is amazing, service is fast and helpful and you can even ask for takeaway beers in the can or bottle from their 30 tap selection. I can't wait to return another time.
Richard B — Google review
This pub solved all the problems that can occur when you go out with friends. You can get a plastic card with a number, collect your consumption on that, and not worry anymore about splitting the bill in the end. Just show the number and pay. Easy-peasy. Oh god if all the pubs could do that. Also, huge selection of beers, you also can order a taste selection of 5, they also solved it in a funny way with a "lottery card". :) The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, and also the pretzel was heavenly. The interior design is very cool. Not a usual pub! And that's why we love it.
Bernadett D — Google review
Great selection of beers on tap, over 15 of which were Hungarian! We weren't supposed to stay for food but decided to share a goose platter which was delicious and after that we ordered to amazing burgers. Great bar with tasty beer. We had the cherry beer and mango beer. Also made a lovely pina colada! Loved the swing by the bar
Sioned H — Google review
Basic craft beer bar serving a good range of beers at very reasonable prices. Seating is not that comfortable and the swings at the bar just get in the way. Service a bit slapdash. Good pils and IPA options. Good music. Ideal place for a quick beer rather than an evening.

The MONYO brews are really good, I especially enjoyed the sour grapefruit+coffee combo, amazing! The bar itself though isn't much, with uncomfortable seats and really nothing else to catch your attention. Still worth visiting if you can't order the stuff back home!

Had an amazing time - the bartenders are very friendly, the counter has swings instead of chairs, and they played metalcore & emo even taking requests. Great atmosphere. The beer is a bit hit or miss, vaguely sour regardless of the style. The shots are worth it though!

Legfelsőbb Beeróság is a small and cozy cellar in Budapest, offering a superior range of on-tap beer and tasty street food. It's slightly off the beaten path, making it a hidden gem for those in the know and a great spot to mingle with locals. With 10 taps and over 150 different bottled beers, it perfectly represents Budapest's reputation as a European craft beer capital. The knowledgeable staff can assist with the wide selection of craft beers available.
Great beer, great service and recommendations. Tried like 6-7 different types, all recommended by the barkeep, all great.
Marian-Cristian G — Google review
The service is really poor. The woman at the bar was not polite at all, I’ve asked for Milk Stout and she looked at me as if I was crazy and this type of craft beer didn’t exist, while they had in their list a lot of Milky stouts. The same about Gose beer, I asked for one from their list, and she said there was no such beer, so I asked for any other Gose and it seems she didn’t know what it was and started trying to sell me Cider. I guess bartenders have to be more informed about existing craft beer especially if they sell it (or at least take a look at the beer scheme they have as the decoration on the wall). Besides all, she was extremely unfriendly. Doesn’t worth visiting, there are better craft bars around in Budapest.
Olga — Google review
They have a wide range of good beers, on tap and in bottles or cans. There’s a lot of space for seating, and nice decor.

Very nice beer place! We were 2 people, ate dinner as well as drank 4 craft beers & had some snacks, and we payed in total less than 14000 huf (~33-34€). Worth the price, and fun to try some local beers! Very helpful staff.
Camilla B — Google review
10 taps with huge fridges of cans and bottles, so quite a wide range of craft beers to choose from. Staff is knowledgeable so you can ask for help. Prices are a bit expensive but not out of what you would expect from a craft beer bar. Food is alright. Went there on a Monday night so it was not too crowded.

Nice beer place! Pretty good food too (bratwurst). Had the refreshing ‘Need for More Speedo’ (think Salty grapefruit), the tame Etyeki IPA, and the chocolaty Irish stout (for dessert). Would have been 5 star but was too bloody hot! 🥵

Rizmajer Beerhouse is a popular spot in downtown Budapest offering a wide variety of high-quality domestic draft beers at reasonable prices. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rizmajer Beerhouse is a fantastic place in Budapest with a very welcoming atmosphere and super friendly staff. From the moment you walk in, you feel comfortable, the rustic interior with the brick walls and wooden tables makes it a really cozy location. I ordered two mango lemonades and a cheeseburger with fries, and everything was excellent. The burger was juicy and full of flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and the lemonade was refreshing and delicious. Portion sizes are generous, and the quality is clearly high. For Budapest, the price-performance ratio is absolutely great you really get value for your money here. What I also like is that this place is not only nice for a casual visit, but also perfect if you come with larger groups. It can get quite popular, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. All in all, a very pleasant experience delicious food, fair prices, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. Good, casual place, great one to hang out with friends, or to pick up a beer on the way home, as they have it for takeaway as well. Gravity Brewing is a unique craft beer bar in Budapest, where the brewery is located on-site. The taproom sits in the basement of a pre-war building adjacent to the production plant, allowing visitors to see the steel tanks and electric dashboards through a see-through door. Despite its unassuming underground location, this small local brewery offers an impressive selection of beers including New England IPAs, rye beers, and robust imperial stouts.
Amazing brewery with a great selection of craft beers, with 12 taps covering sours, IPAs, stouts, a porter, red rye, barley wine and a lager there was something to suit every taste. It was a very warm day when we were there but the bar was lovely and cool, and a great place to chill out. The staff were friendly and the beers very affordable, our only regret was we didn’t get there earlier to try more of the beers!

As a craft beer enjoyer, I could definitely recommended this place: it is the top spot to check in the whole Budapest. Micro craft brewery is located just a few steps from the bar, simply look behind your back while ordering a beer. Awesome bartenders (greetings Luca!) with a huge beer knowledge, always smiling and helpful. Compared to the other multi-tap bars I've visited, the prices are more than affordable. Tiny, cozy, comfy - simply amazing!
Martienis — Google review
I came to gravity brewing with a mission. Motivated, focused and determined to try as many beers from their line-up as possible in a single sitting. Polaris, Solar Wind, Magnetar, Collision Course and Draco were beers I’ve tried😵‍💫 It’s not very often when I can say that every beer on tap was excellent, well that was the case at Gravity Breewing. Every beer had a clean and enjoyable profile and was unique in terms of flavour and character as a beer style. I never had anything similar to Sour, NZ Lager, Porter or Stout designed by Gravity Brewing. Well done and congrats to brewers…I’ll be back 😎

Awesome experience (on a Monday even). There’s a reason they have five stars. Great staff (English friendly), can not decide if the light or dark beer styles are better as they all are and you had to peal me off (4K unique beers). My only issue is no “flights” (I like to taste it all, but half pours kind of sway your opinion after a while). A must stop if you’re a beer geek in Budapest though. Traveler tip: if you’re having a “change up” day between engagements, there’s a laundromat across the street!

Service with a smile and beer with tremendous flavor. Since arriving in Budapest, I wanted to try local craft beer and I could not bee happier than when I found this pub. They have 18 beers on tap, which rotate, and should meet your flavor desires. My personal favorite was the double IPA liquid cocaine. The service was immaculate with your beer being brought to you. The beer meisters even allowed me to taste all the other IPAs they had on offer. If you love craft beer, be sure to stop here and they can even lead you to the breweries of these fantastic fermented beverages.

We were in Hungary for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. We had spotted Beer Brothers on our walkabout the day before the first day of the Grand Prix. Understanding that we were going to get back late from the Hungaroring during race weekend days and knowing that the subway system had a station close to Beer Brothers we decided to make the Beer Brothers our place to have supper. The craft beers and their burgers were both delicious. Needless to say we chose the right place to recover after a busy day a day at the Hungaroring. Unfortunately on the last day, the day of the race, they had run out of supplies to make burgers, so we had to go to another restaurant nearby which turned out to be a disaster.

The beer was good. Nice selection. The Sours were on the very light end of sour. We had two of the burgers and both were overcooked. We were the only ones eating.

Horizont Taproom by Léhűtő, located in Gozsdu Udvar, is a popular spot run by renowned local craft brewers Horizont. The taproom offers a wide selection of over a dozen tap brews in two rooms. The larger space features 13 taps, with more than half of them serving Horizont's own brews, while the smaller room serves three types of Horizont beers.
One of my favourite bars in Budapest, excellent selection of different beers styles from a good number of breweries.

Cool real ale/craft beer and burger joint in a popular area. I had an ale that reminded me of one from Yorkshire but slightly colder - flat, bitter and smooth, one to nurse home. The burger was good and well priced. It was tall and was the 1st time I had to use a knife and fork to eat a burger! I recommend coming here if you fancy a few interesting ales on your night out in Budapest.
Owain J — Google review
Little, dark-ish place with a wide variety of beers both from the tap and bottled. Prices are quite high, 4dl beer costs 800-1600HUF. I tried the spicy potato with some gravy, it was fair. Staff was kind of nice but also phlegmatic a bit, I didn't feel welcomed. I would say that it's a little dirty place with a low quality toilet. Debatable place.
Boglárka E — Google review
Beer was nice, service was poor. I asked for a taster and they said that 200ml is “not too big”. Of course, that’s why I did not try anything interesting or extreme and was just sipping my New England IPA.

Good selection of beers across styles. Knowledgeable staff and a decent amount of seating space to enjoy. Pricing is reasonable and the pouring is generous, allowing you to try lots of different beers!

We went last Saturday, 17 May, the day of the beer. We booked to go at 7pm with a group to visit the facilities. We went in and the first impression was already very good. We went on a tour regarding all the breweries and saw how everything is to prepare it and the care they put into every step. David, from the maintenance team, was in charge of explaining everything to us, and when he saw that my Hungarian still needed simultaneous translation, he started to explain everything in English. A cracker! After the tour through all the brewing processes, we stayed to taste some beers. The truth is that the place is really cool. The staff is top notch, the beer is delicious, they have darts, table football and pizza if you want a bite to eat. Top place

(Translated by Google) I came here because of the good reviews. It was Sunday, there were two hamburgers to choose from. What was good: the hop cola drink was very tasty, we didn't have to wait long for the food, the place was spacious What was not good: although according to the OTP website they do, in reality they don't accept SZÉP cards; I had already eaten when I switched, and yes, they didn't even give me the block (although they should); the hamburger wasn't a special experience. Oh, and the pricing was a bit excessive, 5530 HUF for the portion shown in the picture. I tried it once, but I won't come here again, and I don't recommend it. (Original) A jó vélemények miatt jöttem ide.

Szimpla Kert is a must-visit in Budapest, known for being one of the oldest and most famous ruin bars in the city. Located in the Jewish quarter, this huge pub is filled with an eclectic mix of old items and even features a disused Trabant car. The building itself is impressive, adorned with diverse objects hanging from walls and ceilings. Visitors can enjoy live music, food, a market area, and a garden within its alternative decor.
Amazing open-air experience! This place is absolutely fantastic – an open patio with multiple bars, each offering something unique. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for any occasion. The cocktails are simply outstanding – creative, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. A must-visit spot if you love great drinks and an amazing vibe!
Roni S — Google review
Such a unique place - as a tourist you HAVE to go. Buzzing place at night but particularly I recommend going during the day. You get to see how great this place is and everything it has. Day drinking in a ruin bar will easily become the highlight.
Rituja R — Google review
I don’t go to bars, so I haven’t experienced Szimpla Kert at night, but visiting during the Sunday market was really nice! From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., local producers offer a wide range of fresh and artisanal products, including breads, cheeses, honey, jams, yogurts, pasta, and traditional Hungarian sweets. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and entry is free—perfect for anyone wanting to explore the local culture in an authentic way.
Luana B — Google review
A wild, unforgettable experience, Budapest’s ruin bar culture at its best. Szimpla Kert is unlike any bar I’ve ever visited. Located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, it’s the original ruin bar, a concept born from transforming abandoned buildings into eclectic, artsy nightlife spaces. The place is a visual overload: mismatched furniture, bathtubs as seats, graffiti-covered walls, and quirky installations everywhere you look. I went once at night. Night time, , is when Szimpla comes alive: live music, DJs, and a buzzing crowd of locals and tourists. It’s loud, chaotic, and absolutely fun. Drinks are reasonably priced for a tourist hotspot, and they have a good selection of local craft beers (try the Budapest Lager) and cocktails. The staff were friendly, and the vibe was welcoming despite the crowds. Tips: Go early if you want to explore the space and take photos. At night, expect crowds—especially on weekends. Would I go back? Definitely. Szimpla Kert is more than a bar, it’s a cultural experience and a must-see if you’re in Budapest.
Kelvin W — Google review
Such a cool and new experience for me! I went both day and night, and they both had two very different vibes. I would recommend getting a coffee in the morning to explore the flea market as well and at night visiting around 7-8pm to avoid the queue (weekend) and grabbing a cherry ale. The cherry ale was lovely and the interior blew my mind. Strongly recommend to visit!
Emma — Google review
Fun and vibrant spot with great energy! The decor is quirky and full of character, and the atmosphere is lively every night. Drinks are good, though a bit pricey and crowded at times
Sadra — Google review
Night vs. Day – The Perfect Contrast! On Friday night, the place explodes into an electrifying party with multiple bars and a superb international vibe. On Sunday morning, the same space amazingly transforms into a calm, charming Farmer's Market, complete with high-quality live cover music. The atmosphere in both modes is completely different and absolutely mesmerizing. In short: It’s a genius idea for dual space utilization! A must-visit!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Budapest, MADHOUSE Budapest is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This lively tap house boasts an impressive selection of 25 beers on tap, featuring beloved classics from Mad Scientist like the New York Milk Stout and Liquid Cocaine IPA, alongside a variety of guest Hungarian brews. The atmosphere is inviting, complemented by friendly staff who are eager to help you find your perfect pint.

Great taproom showcasing the beers of Mad Scientist. Good selection of lagers, IPA's, Stouts and Sours, so there's definitely a beer for everyone. Chilled out, relaxed atmosphere inside and some tables outside are a great place to watch the world go by.

Good selection of local and imported craft beers! Atmosphere wise, it’s not that special and feels like they focus on tourists who are into the craft beer hype. You can find much better in Budapest.

A very cozy place with a nice beer selection. Definitely a proper place to try local beers. If you are looking for a place to eat something, this is not the right place but I still recommend it for the beer selection. Great place for breakfast or brunch. The food was tasty and appealing for an eye. Some ingredients were so after our agreement they replaced it with something else. Staff was also very kind. Prices were classic as expected. Restaurant has nice friendly atmosphere and it’s cool place to enjoy your meal. In the morning it can be full so if you really want to visit this restaurant it’s better to make a reservation.

So... the place has a young and fun atmosphere, there is no breakfast here in the sense of a meal, there are breakfast dishes here. The dishes are beautiful and very tasty, but you get a dish that actually includes half a sandwich with a poached egg on it. There was an expectation of breakfast, a small salad next to the dish, butter maybe and coffee but no, that's the concept and it's important to know this so as not to be disappointed. In conclusion, very tasty but small.

I didn’t realize this place is just next door of New York cafe ,but sooner I realized the price of this brunch restaurant was not as valuable as their prices .And when you wanna pay the bill , they don’t print it out but just show u the amount ,is it normal ? No ! When you ask why there is amount différent? And they just tell you there is service charge extra and it’s their rules .. it’s the very first time to hear that the service charge is the rules but not the service quality is good and customer is pleasure to pay you as extra tips ? Btw , the food taste is just medium . If you wanna really keep customers , pls be honest . It’s not my first time visiting in Budapest but for biz trip , I come to Budapest very often , it’s not normal to do like this way ..

So for sure I got it here😒 I don't think problem was in the food, probable cause of poisoning the Drink Chai Latte. As a result, I got a sleepless night, and I lost two days of my life, because now I'm lying with poisoning. I hope tomorrow I get better, but other guest or at least managers should pay attention about quality of their ingredients. 07.10 The food is very tasty, and a friend who is very specific about such places rly liked this one. 10/10. but the place should get a deep cleaning/renovating. seats were dirty, the walls are scratched

The brasserie Ogre Bácsi is a small, local bar with a rich history. It's known for its excellent selection of craft beers from Szent András Brewery as well as delicious artisan charcuterie platters. On its 10 taps, it usually has 7-8 different beers from Szent András, and on the remaining 2-3 taps, it rotates between other Hungarian breweries. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, with free tables occasionally available.
Cool place and one of the oldest "craft" breweries. Went on a Tuesday and they have every other Tuesday a beer university. I was lucky enough to be there on such a night. Met a lot of passionate, eager to talk, and friendly, other beer enthusiasts. Not the easiest place to find, hopefully my pictures help, but worth searching out. Staff was very cool, spoke English, and had a great selection of both draught and bottled beer.

I'm pretty much a regular there. They've got great beers, mostly by SzentAndras brewery. The atmosphere is nice, the guests are cool, the prices are reasonable. It's rarely croweed, you most likely will have a some free tables.

It's decent place with a large selection of Hungarian craft beers - draught & bottled. There's no phone service since it's a cellar but wifi is available.

If you like craft beer, then definitely try this place. They have draught beer from the Békésszentandrás brewery, which is awesome. They also have bottled beers from them. If you're there try the pretzel snack. It matches the beers perfectly.

cool craft beers from bekesszentandras (small village in the countryside) for a great price, smiling bartender and tasty pretzel. it's in a cellar though so ventillation is not the best and the air can become really stuffy after a few hours spent there.

Update: still my favorite place in the district after years. Quality is constant. So does the "customer" care. Friendly place, which survived the pandemic for good reason: they were creative, flexible and kept their base audience. Always good beer selection, they taste and can give recommendation on 99% of their menu. They have public tasting sessions drived by craft breweries and other events too. Plus two white and furry extra employees who recently became naughty.

Hungarian restaurant
Nestled near the Basilica, Borkonyha Winekitchen is a sophisticated restaurant that earned its first Michelin star in 2014. It offers contemporary cuisine with a focus on Hungarian dishes and pairs them with over 200 local wines. The dining room is elegant, adorned with smart mirror-lined walls. The restaurant takes pride in its nose-to-tail aesthetic and creative reinterpretations of classic cooking, using top-quality ingredients to create exquisite dishes that blend traditional flavors with modern influences.
The experience was great from beginning to end. I had reservations for 18:00 and was immediately seated. They helped me with choosing wines and paid very close attention when I finished my meal and water. Food was very good. I chose the tasting menu and each dish was delectable from start to finish. The atmosphere is very relaxed. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience through and through. This is not an uber fancy Michelin location, but it does what you need it to really well. Service friendly, fast and professional. Chef’s gifts were a delight and starters were very tasty. However the mains stole the show, with excellent meat quality and cooking craftsmanship, artfully presented. They were some of the best meals I have ever had in my life. This was excellently complimented by the fantastic wine pairings. Even as a local to area I was able to discover some new Hungarian wines that were simply sublime. If you are going here I would highly recommend the wine pairings! One of the best in Budapest!

An incredible experience. We made reservations for an evening at this Michelin Star wine kitchen. It was all about the food. The quality. The taste. The presentation. Quite phenomenal. Note that the total price I am quoting here includes the fact that my elderly in-laws don’t consume a full meal so some were shared plates. The 4 of shared: One bottle of wine 3 sparkling waters One salad One duck lever pate appetizer 3 entrees 1 dessert The meal came with: An amazing bread basket A gift plate of appetizers from the kitchen 8 dessert tasters Our bill was 94000 Ft or $400 Canadian. Great experience, incredible food and excellent value.

This was my treat for my partners birthday - we had a lovely table and a superb meal and wine flight to match. As my partner doesn’t eat sweet things they were accommodating and swapped a cheese course in instead of the dessert element of the tasting menu just for him. Good start! In all the food was superb but we found the up to 30 minute wait time between the tasting courses to be too long and by time the final course arrived we felt it had taken the shine off the evening. Additionally it was clear the sommelier was more interested in the table next to us that were splashing the cash which was a faux pas in my opinion - we chose not to stay on and sought out after dinner drinks elsewhere - it seems not all guests are even here.

Truly excellent food, wine and service! We had a three course á la carte dinner and recommended local wine, which was absolutely amazing! Perfection in every taste, in every texture. Some tiny details could be improved, like that the wine was a bit late, it should be served before the starter and main course, but that's not enough to withdraw a star, and everything else was absolutely brilliant!
Kristoffer R — Google review
Top notch restaurant in Budapest. Great cost performance, nice service and absolutely amazing food. It works in a traditional fine dining setting, less surprising dishes but quality and taste are well guaranteed. You can trust them to bring you quality food and possibly a great dining experience. I sat indoors while many chose to do outside. Both are fine, highly recommended if you visit Hungary.

Our first day in Budapest drew to a close with an unforgettable dinner at Borkonyha Winekitchen, our first foray into Michelin Star dining. The chef presents a tasting menu that feels like a time‑travel narrative: early European haute cuisine, today’s flavors, and a bold peek into the culinary future, all expressed through local produce and ingredients he predicts will flourish in a warming climate. Creative, surprising, and genuinely delicious dishes Thoughtfully paired with outstanding Hungarian wines Attentive, professional service – among the best I’ve encountered Highly recommended for anyone seeking a unique, forward‑thinking fine‑dining experience in Budapest. And their Birthday Gerbeaud cake was easily one of the finest I’ve ever tasted

We celebrated our honeymoon at Onyx Műhely and it is most definitely the best meal of our trip. We went for the six course menu and had no regrets, everything was delicious! We especially loved the ravioli, the oyster mushroom dish, and the catfish main. Rebeka was amazing and explained each dish to us. The whole team was attentive and kind. Also, shoutout to Kornél for making the experience even better! Since it was our honeymoon, they surprised us with a dessert to take home and a Polaroid photo. Best service we’ve experienced in Europe. Once again, a huge thank you to the Onyx Műhely team for an unforgettable evening. We appreciate you guys!!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Onyx Műhely last night. The welcome was warm and professional, and the staff created a truly exclusive atmosphere for us. They paid close attention to every detail, introducing each course before serving and sharing the story behind the dishes. We tasted very special, harmonious, and refined flavors, with some surprising combinations that worked beautifully together. We especially enjoyed the non-alcoholic drink pairings and the thoughtful way they were presented. The ambiance was friendly yet elegant, and the setting felt modern and inspiring. The plating of each dish was stunning, every course was a visual and creative experience in itself. Overall, we had a fantastic evening here. It was absolutely worth it, and we would gladly return anytime!

We went to Mozaik while visiting Budapest. The food is fine dining with an a la carte menu. You choose one starter, one vegetarian, one meat and one dessert. You can add additional courses if you want to. My husband chose to have an additional meat course. Everything was exceptional and incredible value for money. My personal favourite was the ravioli! They also showed us their other restaurant Aether and if are back in Budapest we would definitely visit.

Gettó Gulyás is a unique and trendy stew place located near the Dohany Street Synagogue in Budapest. The restaurant offers 14 different types of stews, including unconventional options like gizzard and rooster testicle stew, alongside traditional Hungarian delicacies such as bean and mushroom stews. Gulyás, also known as the national dish of Hungary, is a must-try when visiting Budapest.
This place was incredible and the highlight of our visit. I recommend booking in advance. From the moment we arrived the staff were so wonderful. It’s a great space - modern clean decor with a touch of quirky old world charm. Seating is available outside on the sidewalk but we definitely preferred the interior seating and atmosphere. The menu was amazing with so many traditional dishes to choose from. Every single dish was not only beautifully presented but tasted superb. If you’re overwhelmed then just ask the staff to recommend a few things- you can’t go wrong. Local Hungarian wines are such great value and absolutely sensational - highly recommend trying one. Dessert was a perfect sweet finish. Wow, what a place! I can’t recommend this place more highly. Absolute must try.

I had beef stew, an egg spread and a glass of red wine and it was perfect. The food is amazing, the serving is also quite interesting. Had such a lovely evening in Gettó Gulyás. The service was second to none and the food was excellent. The wine recommendation was perfect and suited each of our meals. The best meal I've had in Budapest so far (day 4). We got 3 out of the 4 available desserts and each one was better than the next. Absolutely delicious. Long island ice tea will blow your head off, too strong and smoky. But the hugo was 😘👌🏻. Class

Unforgettable food, service, and heart! What an incredible experience. The food and service at Gettó Gulyás were outstanding. We went for lunch and loved it so much we came back for dinner the same night. Roland, we will never forget you.

I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Budapest, and I’m so glad I did. He advised me to make a reservation since the place is very popular, and that turned out to be excellent advice—the restaurant was busy, but welcoming. I started with something unusual: cucumbers with sour cream. It may sound simple, but it was absolutely delicious, especially paired with the fresh bread that came alongside. For my next course, I had a pancake filled with tender veal pieces and vegetables in a flavorful sauce—astounding in both taste and presentation. I paired it with a glass of their Cabernet, which was rich and smooth. For my main course, I had veal with buttered noodles. The noodles were uniquely wrapped in a circle of bacon, adding both flavor and creativity to the dish. Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and cozy—lively and a bit loud, but still comfortable for conversation. The service was outstanding, and the interior design had so much detail that added to the charm and coziness of the space. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Budapest. It’s a memorable dining experience, and I’m already hoping to return before I leave.

We had such a great experience here! The Báránypaprikás and Borjúpaprikás were absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly tender (lamb especially, veal a little bit less) and full of flavor. The food came out quickly, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We booked our table online two days before, and everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

I was a party of one, and could very quickly be seated by the bar, which is fine. It was a bit tall, making it a bit weird position to eat in. Staff was nice and friendly. I got to try their duck pate with some bread for free, and then the food arrived very quickly after. The lecso was delicious and very rich. One of the best meals I had in Budapest. Perfectly paired with the bread.

Quirky, modern place to have a lunch or dinner. We have booked a table and we had a feeling that it is recommended as place was full on the lunch time. Loved decor, staff was very attentive and polite. Amazing traditional food. I had pancake with a mushroom filling for a starter. 10 out of 10. Goulash soup for a main. 9 out of 10, only because it felt too salty for my liking. But to be honest I am using not a lot of salt when cooking myself, so in most of places food feels a bit too salty for me. Soup was tasty anyway. Cottage cheese balls in a sour cream sauce for a desert. 10 out of 10. And homemade lemonade for a drink 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend when visiting Budapest. Did not take any pictures of interior as place was full with people and didn't feel it is nice to take pictures of others while they are enjoying their amazing food.

Bestia is a trendy restaurant with an industrial vibe that offers a diverse menu featuring steak, seafood, sandwiches, and traditional Hungarian cuisine. Situated at the bottom of the Basilica in Budapest, it provides a bustling city center view. The open kitchen concept allows diners to witness the culinary action while enjoying a lively atmosphere.
The place has been recommended by many of travel guides, and is certainly worthy of your visit. Eggplant Hummus smooth and well paired with their soft and toasted bread. The restaurant staff recommended the chicken paprika, which is excellent. The chicken is cooked very tender and soft, with delicious paprika with yogurt sauce, pairing with fresh cucumber and mint salad. I would highly recommend this dish.
J.Y — Google review
Located right at the Basilica square, sure it's touristy, and I'm not sure what differentiates this from most other restaurants in the area, but we ate here. It was air conditioned when it was steaming hot outside, and the Goulash -- I ordered two servings -- was a welcome first meal in Hungary (granted, it was a bit light on the meats and vegetables).
Kien L — Google review
I came for the food and experience. Goulash had great taste, but it consisted of only 4 small cubes of meat, essentially potatoes and carrots, accompanied by 2 slices of bread. The chicken with paprika was absolutely tasteless and flavorless. As it's a beer garden, I expected to have at least a dark draft beer in the winter, but that wasn’t available either. The interior is nice, large, and features good DJ music. However, I didn’t enjoy the food, and the 15% service charge seemed a bit excessive for what we received.
Kris T — Google review
The food was so good. Had the duck leg, the portions being a little small is the only con (so you know it's good). The atmosphere is a one star because the restaurant is in a really busy area with a lot of people passing by honestly not my vibe and was getting overwhelmed by it at times. So a big recommendation for the food but maybe pick indoor seating. The view of the cathedral is hard to turn down though.
Vukašin P — Google review
The perfect experience. The atmosphere is great, Kàrla our server was amazing and it was genuinely one of the best meals I have had in my life. I wish I had found this place before my last night in Budapest because I would have loved to come back again!

Very nice food, cozy interior and welcoming service. The duck leg was definitely my favourite dish, would recommend 100%. We visited around 6 pm and it was definitely not noisy. As for the cost, it ended up being 100€ for 4 plates and 4 drinks, tip included, which is not terrible considering they deliver what they should.
Kat — Google review
Pros: nice position near the cathedral, very good food. Cons: when we paid, being strangers and not knowing the place tradition, we didn't know about the tips being included in the bill. So, we asked them to add 10% on the POS. Very bad from them, they didn't even told us that we had already the tips included, they just took our money. Two times. People with principles would never do such a thing. We left disgusted about the attitude........

We visited on a weekday and found the place packed, but luckily managed to grab seats at the large bar. It was the perfect spot to enjoy some wine and take in the lively atmosphere. Gozsdu Court, dating back to 1901, has been revitalized into a vibrant nightlife hub in the district. This lively passageway spans 200 meters and is adorned with an array of restaurants, cafes, and bars that come alive every evening with music and festivities.
Great spot if you enjoy being in the heart of the city and close to nightlife. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, and public transport makes it easy to reach other attractions. Can get a bit lively at night, but that’s part of the charm.

We had a blast. It is definitely less touristy than the ruin bars. Mostly locals late in to the night. Really, really late. Go to the Blue Bird Karaoke bar. It was packed and we had so much fun. Tasty food (Philly steak sandwich) however nothing special especially presentation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would not allow a glass of tap water! Chef wasn't happy that we asked for no salt on the chips 😆 Plum beer very nice, size and price very good.

The food was tasty – I had the Philly steak sandwich, which was enjoyable, though the presentation could have been a bit more special. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and quick to help, which made the visit pleasant overall. One downside was that they didn’t allow a simple glass of tap water, and the chef seemed a bit irritated when we asked for no salt on the chips, which felt unnecessary. On the positive side, the plum beer was excellent, with a generous size and fair price that really stood out. All in all, a decent spot with good flavors, but with a few small details that could make the experience even better.

I really cannot, cannot stress how good this place was. We had dinner here after viewing the Parliament lighted at night. We had French fries and a burger. Omg those fren fries are for 3 people, really good served. The burger too good. What I liked the most was the mayonnaise they prepared, really good hand made with excellent ingredients, you can taste the difference right away, nothing like what we have in Mexico with the horrible supermarket brands. Now, the beers, I had 3 beers with no alcohol. All amazing and very cheap compared to what I would pay in Mexico for them. Grab the menu, just pick one. I liked more the brown . With the silver label

Absolutely beautiful- the photos don’t do this place justice. We booked for afternoon tea in advance so we were able to walk right inside and get seated immediately. Stopped here for breakfast and really enjoyed the experience. The place is absolutely stunning, marble, gold details, and a glass ceiling that makes the whole hall glow with morning light. I had a chocolate dessert and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was fine, nothing extraordinary, but the dessert was excellent, rich, smooth, and beautifully presented. It’s a bit more expensive than the average café, but the atmosphere and architecture make it totally worth it.

☕ Let’s just say my order at Parisi Café didn’t go as planned — but the experience left me with a story worth sharing Absolutely stunning café inside the beautiful Párisi Udvar Hotel in Budapest! The interior is breathtaking — stained-glass ceilings, golden details, and a timeless, elegant vibe. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful cafés in the city and perfect for photos. There was a small mix-up with my order (they misplaced my order slip and came back after some time to retake it), but the staff handled it professionally and the rest of the service was great. My cappuccino was creamy and perfectly made, and the little biscuit on the side was a nice touch. I tried two desserts — Eszterházy Walnut Cake was a bit too sweet and didn’t have much walnut flavor for me, but the Párisi Cube was amazing: rich, balanced, and beautifully presented. Totally worth trying! 💫 Highlights: Gorgeous architecture, relaxing ambience, good coffee, elegant desserts, and very Instagrammable surroundings. ♿ Accessibility: Wheelchair friendly. 🐾 Pets: Likely only service dogs allowed. 💰 Price: On the higher side, but fair for the location and experience. Overall, a must-visit spot in Budapest if you love stylish cafés, good coffee, and classic European charm.

I wanted to enjoy breakfast in this atmospheric place and came at 10:10, looking forward to a pleasant morning. I was greeted by a hostess and told her that I wanted to have breakfast. She offered me a seat in a hall without the beautiful interior view, even though I asked for a table inside. Then I was informed that breakfast was already over, although the menu clearly says it’s served from 9:00 to 12:00. I was told that the main hall was already being prepared for lunch. In the end, they only offered coffee and dessert. I agreed, but even that left a somewhat unpleasant impression — the hostess hung my things unevenly and rather carelessly. At the same time, the waiters were very polite. The interior of the place is truly charming, but I wish the staff at the entrance matched the level of the rest of the team.

A lovely spot for those seeking an elegant café experience. The cakes and drinks are excellent, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere feels relaxing. Their Afternoon Tea set looks promising, but is only served before 5pm. Might come back and try next time!

The atmosphere and location at Parisi Passage were truly outstanding. The place itself is stunning, with beautiful decor and an elegant vibe. The service was also excellent ,the staff were very professional, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening. The live music added a lovely touch and made the night even more special. However, when it comes to the food, I felt it was a bit overrated. We started with the Hungarian classic appetiser, which looked nicely presented but honestly didn’t taste like anything special. For the mains, we ordered beef cheeks and chicken paprikash. Both dishes were decent, but far from the best we’ve ever had. Overall, the amazing service and unforgettable atmosphere made our night wonderful, even though the food didn’t live up to our expectations.

Lovely quaint cafe/bar/restaurant in the heart of surrounding boutique stores. FOOD: Schnitzel, salads, soups, duck or chicken, salmon, beef and a couple of vegan dishes with eggplant or mushrooms. They have a few gluten free options too. STAFF: Need training. A group in front of us wanting lunch were turned away as they walked out the door I realised that the staff had mistakingly assumed they only wanted drinks (the coffee/cake area was full, the restaurant wasn't). The same happened with us. We were told there were no seats available. I asked if all the empty seats in front of us were reserved and was told no but they were for lunch (which is why we were there!). I can't imagine how many people are incorrectly turned away each day as a result of these assumptions. OVERALL: Would recommend and suggest if dining in, you are direct and ask questions as otherwise they may fail to understand/serve you.

Manga Cowboy is a relaxed diner offering a mix of American and Japanese cuisine. The restaurant features a fun Manga Cowboy theme throughout, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for diners. Customers praise the friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to accommodate guests, such as keeping the kitchen open longer to serve food. The menu offers a variety of options including burgers, chicken wings, steaks, Japanese noodles, katsu curry, flavorful salads, and wraps.
I think I've found my new favorite restaurant in Budapest. Firstly, the portions are absolutely generous. We were quite hungry, so we ordered quite a few things, most of which were recommended by the staff. The service was excellent. I highly recommend the Philly cheese sandwich, honey garlic chicken wings, and pork ribs! The meat in the pork ribs was incredibly tender and juicy, cooked just right. I would definitely come back! highly recommend to everyone!

Such a nice place and the staff was amazing! Warm and very helpful. We were looking for a pharmacy as it was pretty late, and the guy (pretty sad we didn't get his name) literally went above and beyond to help us!

My order was the goat cheese salad. The portion size was sufficient, and the goat cheese used was really delicious and just as I expected. The plate garnish, although it seemed there was an attempt to balance it with different elements, was not very harmonious and looked a bit messy. As for the service, one issue was that when an item on the menu is unavailable, it should be mentioned when the menu is presented. Unfortunately, at least half of the drink options on the menu were not actually available. The restaurant’s atmosphere was very pleasant, both indoors and outdoors, and it gave off a really good energy.

If you are looking for (probably) the spiciest food in Budapest, I recommend wings with kill bill sauce... If you are just looking for delicious and fresh food, I can recommend the same :). For example Pho beef soup is better than most "Asia Restaurants", served with garlic, chilli and lime. Very nice atmosphere, great service and very friendly prices. What more could you want? :)

Had a quick lunch. The menu is a mix of Asian inspired dishes and traditional cafe specials. Everything has a twist of its own. I had the udon noodles with pulled pork which nothing like a traditional udon dish but delicious nonetheless. Had a feeling of asia meets Hungary.

Great menu, it was hard to chose our dishes. It's rare to find a place that has gteat salads that are not bland classics, this place definately has flavourful salads and wraps for those who don't want to eat too much carbs. The meat dishes were also cooked to perfection, I highly recommend the place.

While it caters to vegans and craft beer enthusiasts alike, Macska also serves hearty meals for those looking to satisfy their hunger.
Really nice and cozy place which is ideal for a calm evening with friends. The personnel is really friendly and helps with the choice. I also like the beer they are offering. It is a Czech brand. The prices are really reasonable. I can definitively recommend the place.

Amazing bar in the Budapest downtown. Only had drinks there but next time will definitely tru some food. The atmosphere is great, it is quite eccentric but very homely, on the gallery you can sit on the floor even as it’s covered in carpet! Love the decor and real plants too. The staff is very pleasant, the prices are great (650 huf for a pint of lager), overall highly recommend and will definitely come back!

A chill cafe bar ... imagine a bohemian answer to Trader Vics! Luckily, if you're not a cat lover, the feline theme is not central to what this place is about. The Asian feline idols were cleverly purchased from an art importer that was closing down. Everything about this place, from the artwork, to the dimmed down lights and stripped bare brick walls with vaulted ceilings and from the eclectic music mix (reggae rhythms, Asian and arabic strings, tribal beats, jazz, rock and anything in between) to the reasonably priced vegan food and local wine, makes for a chilling ambiance and an enjoyable time!

Nestled in the Central Market area of Budapest, IF Jazz Cafe is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This cozy cafe offers live jazz music daily from 7:30 PM, drawing in musicians, jazz enthusiasts, and those seeking a vibrant atmosphere to enjoy with friends and family. The comprehensive menu features traditional Hungarian dishes alongside a selection of beers and wines. The friendly staff adds to the inviting ambiance, making it a favorite among sophisticated crowds.
The IF Jazz Cafe is a delightfully cozy spot. The music is the main attraction, but the food is fabulous. The cafe has live Jazz most nights from an assortment of excellent musicians. Of the 3 different meals that we ordered, all of them were excellent. Staff was friendly and efficient. The menu was available in Hungarian and English. Prices were very reasonable.

Great place for live music. Terrible place for beer 🍺.... doesn't matter it's bottle or from tap the beer is not cold 😔 the toilet 🪠 is shocking. Unfortunately this is consistent the last 3 years. I hope they do something about it soon.

First time in this bar, after hearing lot of positive reviews - for us was just ok. Maybe it was an exception, but due to concert and big nr of guess, for the first drink we waited more than 30 min. Guys were nice, but service was very slow yesterday. Tapas plate like this for almost 10 euro is maybe too much, but food was good. In general, visit was good and as adviced, we will try it again in calmer day😁 PS. If this band was as a Barcelona in football, that I understand everything, also slower service outside. Taking this after consideration, strong 4 and we will come again!

We are returning customers from England. The Beer Point has become one of our favourite places for a drink. The food is also delicious. We ordered the BBQ chicken wings & fries and also the chicken wrap with a side of sweet potato fries. All cooked to perfection😋 The service is always friendly, including the chef 🥰 Lilly was on her own working this evening with a packed venue, she was faultless with her service, friendly, efficient & helpful despite being run off her feet. Thank you, we look forward to many more nights in The Beer Point. Wendy & Gary xx

The place is spacious and offers good quality food and drinks. However, I have to rate the service—specifically the bartender on 10.05.2025—as poor because when we ordered our drinks, she was on her personal phone. Although she answered our questions, it didn’t feel like we received 100 percent customer care.
Elek I — Google review
We stopped to get a quick bit to go as this establishment was right next to where we stayed. Very reasonable prices to start, food was excellent! The bartender was great. He absolutely went over and above to make sure we were take care of. Great food, great service, great prices. Will certainly be here agin before we leave!!
Dennis B — Google review
At least the service was nice, and the place was clean. Our beers were a bit underpoured (see pic). I'm sure the bartender would've fixed it if we pointed it out, but we weren't too fussed - it should have a bit more attention paid to it, though. Food was awful. Burger meat was generally just not good. Come to think of it, it also wasn't a "smashed burger" as advertised either. Pastrami sandwich is waaaay overpriced (see the pic - it was 4.000 HUF), and also the bread seemed like it needed to be toasted or baked more. The "American pancakes" are made from frozen, flavorless, and come covered in powdered sugar (probably to hide their lack of flavor). I'd suggest removing them from the menu altogether, if you can't do them right. Also, fix the outdoor menu - the burger price is incorrect (less than what is on the menu inside).
David A — Google review
Waited 45+ minutes for borderline inedible food that was upcharged for things like "spicy" without our knowledge, as can be seen in other negative reviews. Beers were warm, too. Waiter was pleasant enough. All round bad experience but I don't have food poisoning (yet.)

The food and service were excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. If I come back to Budapest, I’ll definitely visit this place again!

Instant-Fogas Complex in Budapest is a must-visit for those looking to experience the city's vibrant nightlife. This entertainment venue features seven unique rooms, an open terrace, 18 bars, 6 dance floors, and 2 gardens. The complex offers a diverse range of music genres including rock, hip-hop, pop, Latin music, techno and R&B. Visitors can enjoy concerts and mingle with an international crowd while experiencing the surreal decor that reflects Budapest's famous ruin bar scene.
Best club in budapest, a huge complex with multiple rooms playing different music, has a big garden which is a part of the club and smoking is allowed there. Drinks are a bit on the pricier side but the entrance is free. They play great music and the atmosphere is usually really good and it's always busy! It is open until late, like 5 or 6 am. Definitely a good night out and I would recommend this place if you want to have a good party. Only downside is that there generally seems to be a lot more males in here than females from personal experiences.

It's a interesting place Different rooms and different environments around also you will find different musics playing. It's a shame that I went earlier and I couldn't stay until late night to see the full house but I can image how fun it is. Absolutely loved this place! 17 different bars and lots of different rooms and areas to drink/eat and dance. Reasonable prices and an amazing atmosphere - quite a young crowd (we are older but didn’t feel out of place ) excellent lively place - didn’t eat but the food looked good.

You can’t get bored in this place!😻😻 it has so many things to see and such a great atmosphere! Though it does need more chairs in the ground floor. A bit confusing about the bars though, we asked if we could have one mojito in one of the bars that had the big board with cocktails but the guy told us we had to pese it somewhere else because he couldn’t make it, not sure why they have the board there then. Prices are alright, I feel like the water should be cheaper tho. A lot of things to see and really worth going for a good party! Different genres in every room and really just good vibes!

Great party place, lots of tourists. You have variety of parties for everyone. From house to rave/techno music. Drinks are very much affordable, one of the security guards who was on the first floor was extremely rude and not accommodating, by not allowing people to pick up their own jackets from inside area because he thinks there are too many people inside that area…
Vanja S — Google review
We visited Instant in Budapest and had an amazing time. The club is very large, with multiple connected rooms, each offering different music and atmosphere — from house and techno to hip-hop and party hits. You can easily move around and find the vibe that fits you. The crowd was a mix of locals and travelers, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere. The design is artistic and colorful, making the place visually interesting as well. Drinks are slightly pricier but still reasonable for a nightclub. We recommend arriving a bit early to avoid lines. Overall, a great nightlife experience — highly recommended.

Lovely casual beer garden on a shaggy Danube beach. You are surrounded by nature, it's relaxing and fairly quiet. The food is ok, drinks are refreshing with plenty of options. Great place to spend a weekend afternoon with friends or family.

Lovely spot by the Danube on Népsziget. Prices are fair – pretty much average for Budapest. If you enjoy sitting by the river with friends, it’s a perfect choice. There are regular tables, but if you’re lucky, you might find an empty cabin (“kabin”) on the shore where you can sit with your friends, which makes the experience even more special. The only downside is that they often play loud music, which isn’t the best if you’re looking to have a conversation A very chill place to relax by the water with a drink in hand.

Super chill riverside spot with an amazing sunset view! Perfect for hanging out after the work, grabbing a drink, and listening to live music. The atmosphere is relaxed and lively at the same time, though the trains passing overhead can get a bit loud, it actually adds to the vibe. Great place by the water!

Place so good I'm afraid to leave a good review and all you normies will invade. Nice and secluded with a lovely drink and cocktail selection, you can even get food here. All the bartenders are hot and nice, the only problems I could list is that at the minute the drinks above the bar are listed in Hungarian only, and the trains crossing the bridge can be a bit distracting.

I had the small red lentil soup which was very nice (not spicy enough though). Then I ordered the Slovakian gnocchi and I did not enjoy that dish so much. I found it very dry. When the dish arrived it was ok but as the food cooled down it all became this huge mass of almost a single clogged gnocchi. The flavour was still nice but it felt like some moist was missing there. I tried that dish before in other restaurants and it had some butter or some other liquid running through it.

Joe R — Google review
A wide selection of interesting beers, with very kind, professional, and attentive service. You can sit and enjoy your chosen beer on site. The staff has extensive knowledge in the field of beers.
Rafael — Google review
Brilliant range of American and European beers, some rarely seen on this continent! Very friendly staff. Nice indoor and outdoor seating too.
Josh G — Google review
I am not a review guy but this was worth to post it. This place is incredible, if I knew it before, I would have come there earlier. It's a great selection of beers from anywhere and the 2 guys working there are really friendly, we had a really good chat. And I tried on of my favorites NEIPAs!! I will definitely come back!!
Steven K — Google review
Wonderful place with many Hungarian craft beers and also some from abroad. The staff knows a lot about every single beer and they take good time explaining how the beer are made and what it taste like. There are also a bar so you can taste the beer before buying them or simply just enjoy a craft beer. They have air-conditioning and prices are reasonable.

Bar
Ganz Söröző is a charming and unpretentious bar located on a serene, car-free street near the Kiraly Baths in Buda. Unlike many other bars, it has an authentic and unpolished atmosphere that adds to its appeal. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering a wide selection of handcrafted beers both bottled and on tap. The bar's unique location provides an interesting juxtaposition of urban traffic and a small, picturesque park.
A great little bar on the Buda side, across the Margaret Bridge. Well worth tracking down if you want to get away from fellow tourists, I swear I was the only non local in there! Not a large selection of beer but a really good atmosphere & friendly local dog!
Paul F — Google review
Me and my partner Found this bar by accident, and am happy we did. Fantastic staff, very friendly, and helpful choosing a beer. If we didn't already have plans, we would have stayed all evening. Will definitely be going back next time I visit Budapest. The bar is very quirky and rustic. Has a very laid back feel to it.

What an amazing place to be. Nice people, nice ambiente, and a huge selection of beer 🍺 Thumbs up for you 👍
Alexander S — Google review
I actually haven't been but I'm staying in the hotel next door and my room is above this bar. Everyday this place is full, buzzing. The beer must be really good.
Vicky W — Google review
Nice small bar with a good beer choice, if you love craft beer then you should visit this place Cool music, very polite bartender Milkshake IPA is great
Ksenia A — Google review
Nice place, they have plenty of different beer in bottle, also some draught, all of them handcrafted. The staff is nice and professional. Prices are normal. The environment is quite interesting; huge traffic from one hand, small, pretty park from the other. Give it a try.

I have found this place by accident, but it became our spot with one of my friend. Very friendly place, they have a lot of optipns of beer. The terrace atmosphere is lovely, full of trees, and you can bring your dog with you. I recommend it with all my heart!
Timea C — Google review
Fab terrace with a brilliant atmosphere. Beers are plenty with some belters to try. 9% some! 😂 Staff , super helpful. Great place. Go! Cool dog too. ;-)

Pub
Belga Söröző | Snaps is a charming Belgian beer house located on the Buda side of the Danube, offering a unique selection of Belgian beers that can't be found elsewhere in the city. The pub serves traditional Belgian food in a cozy atmosphere that combines elements of a pub and an abbey. With its picturesque location overlooking the river, it's a great spot to indulge in your favorite brew while enjoying the homey environment.
Well... if you're in love with Belgian beer and you're passing by Budapest, you should try this one.
Luiz T — Google review
An amazing collection of Belgian beers on draft, this place was very quiet with no music, but perhaps to be expected on a Wednesday evening. The barkeep was friendly, but don't expect tableside service. Overall, a nice place for a delicious beer and some conversation if you prefer silent surroundings over background music.
Mike M — Google review
Upon walking in, bar tender was laying on the seating, on his phone. Unfriendly service when asking for our order. My first beer of choice was not available. My second beer, he poured himself, rather than I, and it was in the wrong glass - La Chouffe in a Duinen… I didn’t want the beer poured in full. Went upstairs to sit. Dark and dingy. The remaining of the time spent was listening to the bar tender, back on his phone, laying down on the seating. If you want a authentic Belgium beer bar experience, with polite and friendly service, go elsewhere in town!
Bradley P — Google review
This place is here for a long time, and always has a good vibe. Perfect spot for Belgian beers, but my all time favourite is the Delirium Red which is always on tap ;)
Viktor L — Google review
Nice little place, friendly staff, fair prices.
Ádám ( — Google review
Decent selection of Belgian beers. Pizza is delivered from another place. Not much English spoken. Don't let them charge you in euros as they have a more expensive exchange rate.
Peter H — Google review
We came before 30 minutes the place about to close. We were about to order, the waiter told us they are closing. Couple of minutes later, we saw other people were being served. I asked the waiter if we can can order as well, cuz we saw the guys have their glass fully filled. The waiter told us we can't cuz the guys are here for 3 hours and we just arrived. Total shameful. Never felt such humilated. None bar should allow this kind of disgraceful behavior to any potential guest. We might try next week 32 minutes before the closing time
Dávid K — Google review
Barmen was not nice. We were a few of us and nobody has a good experience with him. He nade remarks for everything and couldn't smile even for a sec. The place itself is OK, cosy.

This bar, which has a bohemian atmosphere and a menu of delicious street food-style snacks, is the perfect place to be if you want to be surrounded by interesting people. They serve wonderful beer - it wouldn't be on this list otherwise!
Great selection of beers and spirits. Good atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to my friends, ask staff for “nogradi ropi” snack or try Club Mate.
Edua F — Google review
Good local beer on tap (Horizont, First). Terrible service, couldn't have felt less welcome. Bartenders were extremely unhelpful and couldn't be bothered to answer a couple simple questions about what was on tap...actually what was on tap didn't correspond to what was on the menu.
Scott — Google review
Good choice of beers, they also serve good pizza. If it comes to interiors, it is a bit dark inside.
Paweł J — Google review
Finally a perfect place for catching up with friends. Not crowded, music volume is acceptable for conversations.
David B — Google review
Nothing so bad, but improvement needed in ordering and in the food quality

The Polyhistor Pub is a lovely place with great craft beer and whisky selection, asian snacks, friendly and helpful staff. It's perfect for a casual evening out.
The world's greatest craft beers in a lesser known part of Budapest. Awesome.
Oz_mandias — Google review
Great local pub. They have about 10 craft beers in tap. Half are some of the better Hungarian craft beers and the remainder are from other countries. When I visited the first 3 times they had a number of Estonian craft beers in tap which were excellent. The place has a great atmosphere and the owners very friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers. Highly recommended.

Hi Poly History Pub. Thank you for the nice and helpful service I received during my visit to the pub when I was in Budapest. Nice to try some good local beer as well as get Mikkeller beer at a cheap price. Liked the decor of your pub, I would like to come back.

Lovely place! Great craft beer and whisky selection, asian snacks, friendly and helpful staff.
Máté M — Google review
Excellent beer. Slightly damp smelling. That's about it. A great place to go with a group who love beer and are happy to pay for the genuine good stuff. Location might be good for a open mic but didn't see this on our visit.
Anthony C — Google review
My favorite pub and craft beer bar in Budapest! A must if you're in town visiting. It's a favorite local hangout that is frequented by tourists seeking local craft beer.
