Brewery vibe, tried 2 different IPAs but nothing really beats exceptional. Bench-style seats not very comfortable if you planning an evening drinking. Staff were ok. Food was good.

Bit of a find although have been here in a previous life! It’s a beer gastropub as well as serving smoked meats. You sit in a covered yard and you have a couple of bars and food counters dotted around you. Can be a bit pricey for what it is but on the whole food is okay, you pay for mayonnaise, no sauces no mustard no ketchup. They did bring the food to the table and it was quite quick service but then again it wasn’t that busy. Can you imagine this being a really nice place when there’s a busy crowd here?

Very nice atmospheric place, good beer, big selection of beers. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes for 2 beers even though there was just few people in front of us… The bartender was very very slow and inexperienced.

Great find. I wasn't sure what I signed up for walking through a more residential area and then you turn into the corridor and can't help but smile. It's perfect! They have 2 bars, we were shown our reserved table (highly recommend) and went up to order the beers. Nice guys, switched to English with ease. Food was from a different counter and delicious. We had a great evening at this brewery.

Always great variety of beers on tap, bottled alcohol free beer available too. Food options are not many but the food is delicious and served quickly. It gets a bit hot inside in winter and it is good to book table if you come Friday-Saturday evenings.

Excellent spot that separates the bars to reduce waiting time. The craft beer bar has a varied selection with voodoo being my particular favourite. The spirits bar opposite mixed up a superb G&T. The place was packed with people imbibing and laughing. I like the minimalist style too.

Great pub with a good selection of beers on tap. What is particularly interesting is that they serve their beer in either 0.33 or ONE LITER mugs, so you only come here if you're serious about your drinking. I've had their wheat beer and it was indeed very tasty. The ambience is nice, typical for such a place. Also no service fee, you pay what you get

Tiny craft beer bar with a short, but good, beer list. The music was sensational and we really enjoyed our couple of hours there. No food.

Beer choice and service is excellent. However it’s let down by the choice of music which was overbearing and not for me, but maybe others would like it. It felt more fitting for a nightclub in Berlin. The smell of stale beer was overpowering - definitely time for a jet wash.

Child friendly place We had our 2 under 2 sons with us and it was the perfect place. Managed to find a table outside so could park the pram and had some shade under the trees. They have high chairs as well which was a bonus. Massive portions and good flavours, well worth the money. The staff was excellent too. No nappy changing facilities but managed to sort them in the toilet.

We visited Jónás near Bikás Park, just a few steps from the metro. The place is spacious, with plenty of tables both inside and outside. We sat outside, and with good weather it was really pleasant. The menu is good, the prices are fair, and the drink selection is also solid. If you’re in the area and looking for a nice spot to sit down, I’d recommend it.

I was passing by and wanted to have a breakfast, the menu is only available in Hungarian but very friendly waiter helped with ordering (he speaks very good English). I’ve ordered pasta (it was delicious) and also two vegan cakes. Very delicious!! The staff is friendly and always asked if we liked everything. I strongly recommend the place.

Nice setting specially if you want to have a nice gathering with a view to the Danube river. Don’t know if the price is good since I was invited. Fast food available. Best at night to watch Budapest lit monuments.

Great place for a couple of decent craft beers. Rather expensive, certainly for a location out of the centre. But craft beer never is cheap. Good and fast service and table service. You can run a tab and pay when leaving.

We pre booked tables outside. It's in a very nice park. I wanted to opt for the best food, so I chose the ribs. The meat was completely dry. I didn't enjoy it the least.

Vibinggggg! 💗 I love that!!!! All IPA are quite too sweet. But Flower one is quite hoppie. Nelson is okay if you like IPA. Sweet as well. Not recommend for cherry if you like the hop hop beer. It’s weird. But if you like cherry it’s very fine and good. Thank you for all services. The crew were so nice and apologised for making the chair drop behind the staff today. I hope he not hurt.

Delicious Goulash and Amazing Dessert! I was really impressed with the food here! For dessert, I tried Golden dumplings with vanilla and sour cherry beer custard and it was beautifully presented. I also have a few drinks like: Strongbow, Aperol Spritz The staff were friendly and attentive, and on top of that, the music was really pleasant and created such a good atmosphere.🎶

This place is completely amazing. We didn’t know if we should try it, as it’s kind of American themed and we love taking in the local culture when traveling. But their twist on burgers is unreal. Amazing food, beer and cocktails. The staff was everything! So kind, helpful and they play good music. We stayed for hours, even skipping some cultural sights, as the place was just so cool. Our server was Attila and we loved him. He was super knowledgeable and came with great recommendations. We’re from Los Angeles and let me just say they do burgers better than most American restaurants and if you’re into craft beer this is the spot. Do not hesitate. So many thanks to this staff. Extremely warm welcome to Budapest. This spot is one of the reasons why Budapest is my favorite city. Thank you, Attila! You’re the best!!!

I had such a great experience here! The beer was honestly one of the best I’ve ever tried — perfectly cold and full of flavor. The service was amazing, especially thanks to our waiter Adrian, who was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend! 🍺

Funky bar with a good selection of craft beer and good burgers. Location is just off a street but still close to the vibrant area. I opted for their own Voodoo and Hippie, both0.4l which was a good size for me personally.

I was just passing by this amazing brewery and I stepped in! The ambience is amazing, the choice of draft beer is huge and the quality is superb! They also will let you stick your own banknote or their wall behind the bar! The bartender lady was kind and helpful! For sure a place to be back again 😉

I visited this restaurant with my family on our last night in Budapest, craving a good burger, and we were so happy we found this place. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Stopped by Kandalló Craft Beer while in Budapest and it did not disappoint. The burger was next level — juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Honestly, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I’m sad I didn’t take any photos Tried the Hazy Queen IPA with it and wow, highly recommend.

Popped in mid afternoon on a Wednesday for a beer and burger. Wasn’t sure what to expect as I was the only customer but was blown away by the burger - cooked fresh, very tasty, and well presented. Beer selection is good and waiter helped with a decision. Lots of tables reserved for the evening so suggest booking. Afternoons appear to be quiet, particularly weekdays. Well worth a visit.

One of the most reliable, consistent, top quality burger places for years. The BBQ is a perennial favourite, the Angus beef is cooked to perfection. It's not classic in the sense that you can only eat it with a knife and fork, and it comes with a couple of baked potatoes, but it's the perfect composition with some garlic sour cream. Not the cheapest, but it's absolutely worth it! ;)

I visited this restaurant with my mother and sister; it was our last night in Budapest and we were craving burgers and found this place online. The atmosphere was nice, there was AC in the main part of the second floor where I asked to be seated. We were accommodated with zero issue. The staff was very warm and professional. Our burgers took a little while to come out, but they were very much worth the wait--- they were DELICIOUS. our server was Alexandra; she was wonderful. we had some very specific requests on what we wanted and she got it all right! she was attentive, personable and just so cool! her energy was positive; i have been practicing my Hugarian and I felt very comfortable practicing with her; she even helped me pronounce certain sounds of the Hungarian alphabet that I've been struggling with! I am grateful to have had such a positive dining and cultural experience at this restaurant. I look forward to going again whenever I return to Budapest!

Kandalló is a local eatery specializing in burgers - that’s pretty much all that’s on the menu. While the burgers are quite good, the beer selection is nice and they have a few good wines, the lack of variety on the menu and the poor quality of some items like nachos and wings really limits the restaurant. Service is spotty as well, unfortunately. If you like Gin and Tonic, you’ll be happy here as they offer excellent tonics and use appropriate botanicals. Also, if you’re an American they do have football on Sunday evenings!

Nice craft beers at decent prices, Very laid back atmosphere. Good place to stop in after eating at another restaurant. The bar tender was very good at suggesting which beers to try when you were ordering a set of samples.

Small but nicely stocked, I found a hazy IPA I liked. The food is provided from across the road somewhere but you order at the bar. I had a margarita which arrived in what felt like 5-10 minutes and was delicious.

One the places with very high quality beers. They aren’t cheap, but it’s worth it over regular beer places. From local breweries, to Belgium, international, they got it all including a relaxed atmosphere. Viktor is awesome!

Some really good beers on tap from Hungary and the Czech Republic. Wide range of styles and reasonable(ish) prices. Be warned though, this place is an absolute sausage-fest. Mind you, not dissimilar to a lot of craft beer bars around the world!

As I remember that we went here one year ago and left totally satisfied, I needed to come here again. And it didn’t disappoint! One of the best beer places in town for a pint or take-out bottles. There are a lot of options, and varied beer styles. We always enjoy the nice and quiet atmosphere. The service is quick and very friendly.

A large place with “drinking hall atmosphere” and rather tired furniture. Service is not especially fast or cheery, but it’s OK. The beer range is good, with a comprehensive list in English and fair prices for a craft beer place. I tried their own Dezso Vere (American Amber) which I rather liked. However, with so many options for places to visit, I didn’t want to stay for another. The food menu did not look great and poor reviews from others put me off that. Overall, it’s worth a look-in if you are near. And it certainly seems popular with locals. Actually I decided to stay on for the Baltic Porter (a weakness of mine). This one, from the Garden Brewery, was outstanding. No complaints there, but I’m still not convinced by the bar itself.

I really liked this place! They have very good beer and the food was surprisingly delicious! Like nothing I've had before in a popular "bar" but this place is more than a bar. I had this Eggplant Tartare (pictured) and it was great, the ingredients so fresh and tasty. My friend had the Pumpkin Risotto and she loved it too. Also I liked that they have a lot of spaces for large groups, so you can come for a bday or with coworkers after work. And they also have a private mezzanine with space for like 30 people on a large table. Service was very respectful and spoke English too.

Reopened at a new location, it seems currently THE best craft beer pub in Budapest. Around 30 taps, huge venue compared to other beer pubs of similar style, still cosy. Quick service with lots of waiters around. Budapest finally deserved such a professional brew pub, finally.

I was perfectly content with the service here. We had a reservation and we were shown to our table immediately as we arrived. The staff was nice, helpful and they were all smiling. The food was delicious and the beers were very good as well. They have a nice selection of beers and a fair one of other beverages as well. Looking forward to visit here again :)

On a Friday evening we managed to find a place here without any reservations. We were pleased with the service and the chicken wings were delicious. Had a great time and we'll return for sure.

A very cool place to hang out with friends for a few drinks or to go out for a nice dinner with loved ones. The atmosphere is amazing, especially if you're a steam punk fan: the setup matches the mood, the food is in sync and the beers are tasty and modern. The service sometimes lacks in speed and accuracy, but it's ok overall: the staff is friendly, they speak English quite well and are really polite. The food quality is great; I had the mussels coconut soup and some tabbouleh with grilled vegetables and everything was well done and tasty. My better half had a sirloin steak with creamy truffle potatoes and asked for it to be well done, just to have it rare. Everything was great after the misunderstanding was solved. If you go there and don't feel like eating, at least try the beers: they have great craft beers although they might not always be fully supplied. All in all it's definitely a place to check out multiple times: we will sure be going there soon again to try more amazing, tasty stuff.

Steampunk style interior. Helpful staff. IPA beers, home brew and ordinary drinks are also available. Not wide selection / not much focus on cuisine, but meals are tasty. Reservation is not mandatory, but advisable. Prices are not low, but reasonable. Worth the visit!

A nice craft beer bar with daily rotation of the taps. Had some quite interesting beers here. Food is good but a bit slow. We only ordered simple dishes like sallad and scotch egg but it still took quite some time to prepare. Service was fantastic really good spirited man who even remembered us and what we had liked from a previous night. Prices are a bit above a regular beer bar. But if you are interested in craft beer it is absolutely worth it.

Lots of beer choice, short food menu, tasty dishes although quite small portions. If you want to eat as well make sure this is noted during reservation otherwise you can end up at the basement where you can have only drinks as food is only served upstairs.

This place has a great variety of craft beers. They also offer beer tastings which will be good if you just want to sample some of the best beers in Budapest. Must visit for beer lovers.

Rooftop bar on the top of mammut. Nice atmosphere. A wide range of drinks. Food options. Each mojito eas different some too sweet! The toilets are in the shopping mall, so you have to go into the mall if you need the toilet.

The service was horrible, i had reserved a table , i went there on time. There was nobody at the entrance to accommodate us, so i went to ask at the bar, but there was a line, so i waited in the line, and when my turn came i asked about my table and the girl just told me to find a blond girl with jeans and she will help me, what kind of answer is that? The place was full of blonde girls in jeans. Anyway i found the girl she told there are no places for me to sit, because i came late so it’s my fault, and I explained to her i was on time but I didn’t find anyone at the entrance so i had to wait in line to ask at the bar and then wander around to find the blonde girl in jeans, and she told me if i want to stay i can just stand , she doesn’t even work there. I have never had such a horrible , rude, arrogant behavior in any other place.

I am a big smashed burger fan and I was shocked how good their burger was! It was the best burger patty I had in Bp ever. Make sure u go there hungry.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend the grilled watermelon salad, it really didn’t work for me. The cocktails were forgettable too, but the main dishes were good and definitely worth trying. The atmosphere, however, was lovely, and the little hidden street makes it feel really special. Overall, I’d recommend this place more for the vibe than for the food or drinks

MADHOUSE BISTRO & BAR if you are a beer enthusiast, this is the place to be. The selection is truly impressive – they offer a huge variety of craft beers that will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs. The waiters are extremely helpful and kind, which adds to the pleasant atmosphere. The service is fast and of high quality. Although the prices are slightly above average, the quality and scope of the offer definitely justify the cost, especially when it comes to rare beer choices. We didn't try the food, but the dishes we saw on neighboring tables looked very tempting. All in all, Med House Bistro & Bar comes with a strong recommendation for anyone who appreciates excellent craft beer and good service!

Great spot for a drink and some appetizers. We had pálinka and mac and cheese — honestly the best mac and cheese we’ve ever had, even compared to the U.S. Service was excellent, not crowded, and it’s pet-friendly. Perfect place to enjoy a drink outside with your dog.

I cannot speak about the food menu (I'm not rating it), but the times that I've stopped here it was for the beers. A lot of selections, maybe 24, mostly their own but some other brewers and collabs as well. Mixed drinks also. Good stuff. Some reviewers have mentioned the volume of the music if it's playing. That's definitely a thing. If I were here with friends, I'd definitely be shouting and struggling to hear a normal conversation. However, as a business, if they're trying to draw attention from outside...I get it. Just need to find the balance between restaurant and brewpub - whatever that balance is.

Skipped the lines at a much busier tourist spot for a few pints here. No regrets with the wide selection and great service. Not sure how often the 30 or so taps rotate, that said their variety was split between dark ales, IPAs, and sours. The majority was from local or neighboring country breweries which was nice.

This is a fun place with a huge beer selection and an acceptable food menu of mostly burgers. The service is friendly and super fast. It’s a place locals frequent, so you’ll get a pretty typical beerhall experience. It’s bit loud but not to the point where conversation is difficult.

Great place. Looks like a reservation is important when there is high demand. The atmosphere inside is so charming. The tap beer selections make this place unique in the Buda part of the city. The service is above average compared to the standarts in Budapest. I try to stop by every time I visit as a tourist.

I love to come back to this place over and over again as they manage to keep and improve their quality year by year. The food is amazing, service is fast and helpful and you can even ask for takeaway beers in the can or bottle from their 30 tap selection. I can't wait to return another time.

This pub solved all the problems that can occur when you go out with friends. You can get a plastic card with a number, collect your consumption on that, and not worry anymore about splitting the bill in the end. Just show the number and pay. Easy-peasy. Oh god if all the pubs could do that. Also, huge selection of beers, you also can order a taste selection of 5, they also solved it in a funny way with a "lottery card". :) The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, and also the pretzel was heavenly. The interior design is very cool. Not a usual pub! And that's why we love it.

Great selection of beers on tap, over 15 of which were Hungarian! We weren't supposed to stay for food but decided to share a goose platter which was delicious and after that we ordered to amazing burgers. The service was really speedy and they were so friendly to us throughout our visit. Definitely a must visit after a day exploring Buda side !

Basic craft beer bar serving a good range of beers at very reasonable prices. Seating is not that comfortable and the swings at the bar just get in the way. Service a bit slapdash. Good pils and IPA options. Good music. Ideal place for a quick beer rather than an evening.

The MONYO brews are really good, I especially enjoyed the sour grapefruit+coffee combo, amazing! The bar itself though isn't much, with uncomfortable seats and really nothing else to catch your attention. Still worth visiting if you can't order the stuff back home!

A brewery in Budapest with great music, a vibrant atmosphere, and quick friendly service. I tried 2 of the beers (pale ale and IPA), and both were delicious. They have swings on the bar, which may get tricky after a few beers.

Had an amazing time - the bartenders are very friendly, the counter has swings instead of chairs, and they played metalcore & emo even taking requests. Great atmosphere. The beer is a bit hit or miss, vaguely sour regardless of the style. The shots are worth it though!

I love the bar but it's service at the bar and every time I got a beer there's a GIANT screen with "how much do you want to tip" Really ruins the vibe. It's a brewery pub you should be promoting your beers. Tipping is out control in Budapest

The service is really poor. The woman at the bar was not polite at all, I’ve asked for Milk Stout and she looked at me as if I was crazy and this type of craft beer didn’t exist, while they had in their list a lot of Milky stouts. The same about Gose beer, I asked for one from their list, and she said there was no such beer, so I asked for any other Gose and it seems she didn’t know what it was and started trying to sell me Cider. I guess bartenders have to be more informed about existing craft beer especially if they sell it (or at least take a look at the beer scheme they have as the decoration on the wall). Besides all, she was extremely unfriendly. Doesn’t worth visiting, there are better craft bars around in Budapest.

Very nice beer place! We were 2 people, ate dinner as well as drank 4 craft beers & had some snacks, and we payed in total less than 14000 huf (~33-34€). Worth the price, and fun to try some local beers! Very helpful staff.

10 taps with huge fridges of cans and bottles, so quite a wide range of craft beers to choose from. Staff is knowledgeable so you can ask for help. Prices are a bit expensive but not out of what you would expect from a craft beer bar. Food is alright. Went there on a Monday night so it was not too crowded.

Nice beer place! Pretty good food too (bratwurst). Had the refreshing ‘Need for More Speedo’ (think Salty grapefruit), the tame Etyeki IPA, and the chocolaty Irish stout (for dessert). Would have been 5 star but was too bloody hot! 🥵

95% local find. Really good home brew for $3.30/pint - great price and half what we paid from mediocre beer in tourist traps. Interesting fries with curve cut. Burgers are solid. We’ll be back here for sure.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rizmajer Beerhouse is a fantastic place in Budapest with a very welcoming atmosphere and super friendly staff. From the moment you walk in, you feel comfortable, the rustic interior with the brick walls and wooden tables makes it a really cozy location. I ordered two mango lemonades and a cheeseburger with fries, and everything was excellent. The burger was juicy and full of flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and the lemonade was refreshing and delicious. Portion sizes are generous, and the quality is clearly high. For Budapest, the price-performance ratio is absolutely great you really get value for your money here. What I also like is that this place is not only nice for a casual visit, but also perfect if you come with larger groups. It can get quite popular, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. All in all, a very pleasant experience delicious food, fair prices, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. As a craft beer enjoyer, I could definitely recommended this place: it is the top spot to check in the whole Budapest. Micro craft brewery is located just a few steps from the bar, simply look behind your back while ordering a beer. Awesome bartenders (greetings Luca!) with a huge beer knowledge, always smiling and helpful. Compared to the other multi-tap bars I've visited, the prices are more than affordable. Tiny, cozy, comfy - simply amazing!

I came to gravity brewing with a mission. Motivated, focused and determined to try as many beers from their line-up as possible in a single sitting. Polaris, Solar Wind, Magnetar, Collision Course and Draco were beers I’ve tried😵‍💫 It’s not very often when I can say that every beer on tap was excellent, well that was the case at Gravity Breewing. Every beer had a clean and enjoyable profile and was unique in terms of flavour and character as a beer style. I never had anything similar to Sour, NZ Lager, Porter or Stout designed by Gravity Brewing. Well done and congrats to brewers…I’ll be back 😎

Awesome experience (on a Monday even). There’s a reason they have five stars. Great staff (English friendly), can not decide if the light or dark beer styles are better as they all are and you had to peal me off (4K unique beers). My only issue is no “flights” (I like to taste it all, but half pours kind of sway your opinion after a while). A must stop if you’re a beer geek in Budapest though. Traveler tip: if you’re having a “change up” day between engagements, there’s a laundromat across the street!

Service with a smile and beer with tremendous flavor. Since arriving in Budapest, I wanted to try local craft beer and I could not bee happier than when I found this pub. They have 18 beers on tap, which rotate, and should meet your flavor desires. My personal favorite was the double IPA liquid cocaine. The service was immaculate with your beer being brought to you. The beer meisters even allowed me to taste all the other IPAs they had on offer. If you love craft beer, be sure to stop here and they can even lead you to the breweries of these fantastic fermented beverages.

We were in Hungary for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. We had spotted Beer Brothers on our walkabout the day before the first day of the Grand Prix. Understanding that we were going to get back late from the Hungaroring during race weekend days and knowing that the subway system had a station close to Beer Brothers we decided to make the Beer Brothers our place to have supper. The craft beers and their burgers were both delicious. Needless to say we chose the right place to recover after a busy day a day at the Hungaroring. Unfortunately on the last day, the day of the race, they had run out of supplies to make burgers, so we had to go to another restaurant nearby which turned out to be a disaster.

The beer was good. Nice selection. The Sours were on the very light end of sour. We had two of the burgers and both were overcooked. We were the only ones eating.

Cool real ale/craft beer and burger joint in a popular area. I had an ale that reminded me of one from Yorkshire but slightly colder - flat, bitter and smooth, one to nurse home. The burger was good and well priced. It was tall and was the 1st time I had to use a knife and fork to eat a burger! I recommend coming here if you fancy a few interesting ales on your night out in Budapest.

Little, dark-ish place with a wide variety of beers both from the tap and bottled. Prices are quite high, 4dl beer costs 800-1600HUF. I tried the spicy potato with some gravy, it was fair. Staff was kind of nice but also phlegmatic a bit, I didn't feel welcomed. I would say that it's a little dirty place with a low quality toilet. Debatable place.

Beer was nice, service was poor. I asked for a taster and they said that 200ml is “not too big”. Of course, that’s why I did not try anything interesting or extreme and was just sipping my New England IPA.

We went last Saturday, 17 May, the day of the beer. We booked to go at 7pm with a group to visit the facilities. We went in and the first impression was already very good. We went on a tour regarding all the breweries and saw how everything is to prepare it and the care they put into every step. David, from the maintenance team, was in charge of explaining everything to us, and when he saw that my Hungarian still needed simultaneous translation, he started to explain everything in English. A cracker! After the tour through all the brewing processes, we stayed to taste some beers. The truth is that the place is really cool. The staff is top notch, the beer is delicious, they have darts, table football and pizza if you want a bite to eat. Top place

Such a unique place - as a tourist you HAVE to go. Buzzing place at night but particularly I recommend going during the day. You get to see how great this place is and everything it has. Day drinking in a ruin bar will easily become the highlight.

Such a cool and new experience for me! I went both day and night, and they both had two very different vibes. I would recommend getting a coffee in the morning to explore the flea market as well and at night visiting around 7-8pm to avoid the queue (weekend) and grabbing a cherry ale. The cherry ale was lovely and the interior blew my mind. Strongly recommend to visit!

The selection is truly impressive – they offer a huge variety of craft beers that will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs. Although the prices are slightly above average, the quality and scope of the offer definitely justify the cost, especially when it comes to rare beer choices. Great taproom showcasing the beers of Mad Scientist. Good selection of lagers, IPA's, Stouts and Sours, so there's definitely a beer for everyone. Chilled out, relaxed atmosphere inside and some tables outside are a great place to watch the world go by.

I cannot speak about the food menu (I'm not rating it), but the times that I've stopped here it was for the beers. A lot of selections, maybe 24, mostly their own but some other brewers and collabs as well. Mixed drinks also. Good stuff. Some reviewers have mentioned the volume of the music if it's playing. That's definitely a thing. If I were here with friends, I'd definitely be shouting and struggling to hear a normal conversation. However, as a business, if they're trying to draw attention from outside...I get it. Just need to find the balance between restaurant and brewpub - whatever that balance is.

A very cozy place with a nice beer selection. Definitely a proper place to try local beers. If you are looking for a place to eat something, this is not the right place but I still recommend it for the beer selection. There are better options if you want to eat and drink a proper beer but this the right place to go before or after a meal (check First beer and Brewdog, they are quite good as well and they have food).

The burgers and the beer selection are great, however there is some room for improvement in the service. We were a group of 15 people sitting in the corner. When the latecomers arrived they had to wait like half an hour to order because none of the waiters looked at our table.

So... the place has a young and fun atmosphere, there is no breakfast here in the sense of a meal, there are breakfast dishes here. The dishes are beautiful and very tasty, but you get a dish that actually includes half a sandwich with a poached egg on it. I'm pretty much a regular there. They've got great beers, mostly by SzentAndras brewery. The atmosphere is nice, the guests are cool, the prices are reasonable. It's rarely croweed, you most likely will have a some free tables.

Update: still my favorite place in the district after years. Quality is constant. So does the "customer" care. Friendly place, which survived the pandemic for good reason: they were creative, flexible and kept their base audience. Always good beer selection, they taste and can give recommendation on 99% of their menu. They have public tasting sessions drived by craft breweries and other events too. Plus two white and furry extra employees who recently became naughty.

Fantastic experience through and through. This is not an uber fancy Michelin location, but it does what you need it to really well. Service friendly, fast and professional. Chef’s gifts were a delight and starters were very tasty. However the mains stole the show, with excellent meat quality and cooking craftsmanship, artfully presented. They were some of the best meals I have ever had in my life. This was excellently complimented by the fantastic wine pairings. Even as a local to area I was able to discover some new Hungarian wines that were simply sublime. If you are going here I would highly recommend the wine pairings! One of the best in Budapest!

An incredible experience. We made reservations for an evening at this Michelin Star wine kitchen. It was all about the food. The quality. The taste. The presentation. Quite phenomenal. Note that the total price I am quoting here includes the fact that my elderly in-laws don’t consume a full meal so some were shared plates. The 4 of shared: One bottle of wine 3 sparkling waters One salad One duck lever pate appetizer 3 entrees 1 dessert The meal came with: An amazing bread basket A gift plate of appetizers from the kitchen 8 dessert tasters Our bill was 94000 Ft or $400 Canadian. Great experience, incredible food and excellent value.

This was my treat for my partners birthday - we had a lovely table and a superb meal and wine flight to match. As my partner doesn’t eat sweet things they were accommodating and swapped a cheese course in instead of the dessert element of the tasting menu just for him. Good start! In all the food was superb but we found the up to 30 minute wait time between the tasting courses to be too long and by time the final course arrived we felt it had taken the shine off the evening. Additionally it was clear the sommelier was more interested in the table next to us that were splashing the cash which was a faux pas in my opinion - we chose not to stay on and sought out after dinner drinks elsewhere - it seems not all guests are even here.

Truly excellent food, wine and service! We had a three course á la carte dinner and recommended local wine, which was absolutely amazing! Perfection in every taste, in every texture. Some tiny details could be improved, like that the wine was a bit late, it should be served before the starter and main course, but that's not enough to withdraw a star, and everything else was absolutely brilliant!

Top notch restaurant in Budapest. Great cost performance, nice service and absolutely amazing food. It works in a traditional fine dining setting, less surprising dishes but quality and taste are well guaranteed. You can trust them to bring you quality food and possibly a great dining experience. Our first day in Budapest drew to a close with an unforgettable dinner at Borkonyha Winekitchen, our first foray into Michelin Star dining. The experience was truly outstanding, thanks in large part to our attentive Chef de Rang, Dominic. The service was friendly and professional. Thomas the server was knowledgeable and opinionated in the best way. The dish that I really loved was the wagyu and the liver one. I would definitely come back here again.

We celebrated our honeymoon at Onyx Műhely and it is most definitely the best meal of our trip. We went for the six course menu and had no regrets, everything was delicious! We especially loved the ravioli, the oyster mushroom dish, and the catfish main. Rebeka was amazing and explained each dish to us. The whole team was attentive and kind. Also, shoutout to Kornél for making the experience even better! Since it was our honeymoon, they surprised us with a dessert to take home and a Polaroid photo. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Onyx Műhely last night. The welcome was warm and professional, and the staff created a truly exclusive atmosphere for us. They paid close attention to every detail, introducing each course before serving and sharing the story behind the dishes. We tasted very special, harmonious, and refined flavors, with some surprising combinations that worked beautifully together. We especially enjoyed the non-alcoholic drink pairings and the thoughtful way they were presented. The ambiance was friendly yet elegant, and the setting felt modern and inspiring. The plating of each dish was stunning, every course was a visual and creative experience in itself. Overall, we had a fantastic evening here. It was absolutely worth it, and we would gladly return anytime!

We went to Mozaik while visiting Budapest. The food is fine dining with an a la carte menu. You choose one starter, one vegetarian, one meat and one dessert. You can add additional courses if you want to. My husband chose to have an additional meat course. Everything was exceptional and incredible value for money. My personal favourite was the ravioli! They also showed us their other restaurant Aether and if are back in Budapest we would definitely visit.

The food was not as tasty as I expected, I would say everything was average and the appetisers were the best among them. The combination was creative but the flavours just did not go well together. The staff was attentive but should put more confidence into the introduction of the dishes

Well... where do I start. Fine Dining Restaurants are my Hobby and profession. So i have seen quite a few of These. Still, what they do here is an absolutely exceptional experience! The Service is top notch. attentive, friendly and they create a very nice leisurely atmosphere while still being on the highest level of product knowledge and professionality. The food is creative, cleverly combined and gives a glimpse into the future of fine dining. Regional products, processed on the highest Level. You can Taste the love and dedication in the kitchen on every plate. The wine pairing was perfect, on a really great Level and really Not expensive for what i got. The alcohol free pairing was the best i ever had. They REALLY put work into that! The Ambience was nice and clean cut. In a short presentation before the Dinner we were shown how the place will Look after renovation will be finished (~spring '25). that alone would be a reason to come back. I had beef stew, an egg spread and a glass of red wine and it was perfect. The food is amazing, the serving is also quite interesting. There are a lot of options to choose from the menu and it might be hard to pick something if you’re not familiar with the local cuisine, but definitely all of them might be worth a try!

Had such a lovely evening in Gettó Gulyás. The service was second to none and the food was excellent. The wine recommendation was perfect and suited each of our meals. The best meal I've had in Budapest so far (day 4). We got 3 out of the 4 available desserts and each one was better than the next. Absolutely delicious. I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Budapest, and I’m so glad I did. He advised me to make a reservation since the place is very popular, and that turned out to be excellent advice—the restaurant was busy, but welcoming. I started with something unusual: cucumbers with sour cream. It may sound simple, but it was absolutely delicious, especially paired with the fresh bread that came alongside. For my next course, I had a pancake filled with tender veal pieces and vegetables in a flavorful sauce—astounding in both taste and presentation. I paired it with a glass of their Cabernet, which was rich and smooth. For my main course, I had veal with buttered noodles. The noodles were uniquely wrapped in a circle of bacon, adding both flavor and creativity to the dish. Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and cozy—lively and a bit loud, but still comfortable for conversation. The service was outstanding, and the interior design had so much detail that added to the charm and coziness of the space. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Budapest. It’s a memorable dining experience, and I’m already hoping to return before I leave.

We had such a great experience here! The Báránypaprikás and Borjúpaprikás were absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly tender (lamb especially, veal a little bit less) and full of flavor. The food came out quickly, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We booked our table online two days before, and everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

I was a party of one, and could very quickly be seated by the bar, which is fine. It was a bit tall, making it a bit weird position to eat in. Staff was nice and friendly. I got to try their duck pate with some bread for free, and then the food arrived very quickly after. The lecso was delicious and very rich. One of the best meals I had in Budapest. Perfectly paired with the bread.

Quirky, modern place to have a lunch or dinner. We have booked a table and we had a feeling that it is recommended as place was full on the lunch time. Loved decor, staff was very attentive and polite. Amazing traditional food. I had pancake with a mushroom filling for a starter. 10 out of 10. Goulash soup for a main. 9 out of 10, only because it felt too salty for my liking. But to be honest I am using not a lot of salt when cooking myself, so in most of places food feels a bit too salty for me. Soup was tasty anyway. Cottage cheese balls in a sour cream sauce for a desert. 10 out of 10. And homemade lemonade for a drink 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend when visiting Budapest. Did not take any pictures of interior as place was full with people and didn't feel it is nice to take pictures of others while they are enjoying their amazing food.

Located right at the Basilica square, sure it's touristy, and I'm not sure what differentiates this from most other restaurants in the area, but we ate here. It was air conditioned when it was steaming hot outside, and the Goulash -- I ordered two servings -- was a welcome first meal in Hungary (granted, it was a bit light on the meats and vegetables).

I came for the food and experience. Goulash had great taste, but it consisted of only 4 small cubes of meat, essentially potatoes and carrots, accompanied by 2 slices of bread. The chicken with paprika was absolutely tasteless and flavorless. As it's a beer garden, I expected to have at least a dark draft beer in the winter, but that wasn’t available either. The interior is nice, large, and features good DJ music. However, I didn’t enjoy the food, and the 15% service charge seemed a bit excessive for what we received.

The food was so good. Had the duck leg, the portions being a little small is the only con (so you know it's good). The atmosphere is a one star because the restaurant is in a really busy area with a lot of people passing by honestly not my vibe and was getting overwhelmed by it at times. So a big recommendation for the food but maybe pick indoor seating. The view of the cathedral is hard to turn down though.

Very nice food, cozy interior and welcoming service. The duck leg was definitely my favourite dish, would recommend 100%. We visited around 6 pm and it was definitely not noisy. As for the cost, it ended up being 100€ for 4 plates and 4 drinks, tip included, which is not terrible considering they deliver what they should.

Pros: nice position near the cathedral, very good food. Cons: when we paid, being strangers and not knowing the place tradition, we didn't know about the tips being included in the bill. So, we asked them to add 10% on the POS. Very bad from them, they didn't even told us that we had already the tips included, they just took our money. Two times. People with principles would never do such a thing. We left disgusted about the attitude........

We visited on a weekday and found the place packed, but luckily managed to grab seats at the large bar. It was the perfect spot to enjoy some wine and take in the lively atmosphere. Judging by the satisfied expressions around us, the food seems to be well worth trying — we’ll definitely be coming back for a proper meal.

We had a blast. It is definitely less touristy than the ruin bars. Mostly locals late in to the night. Really, really late. Go to the Blue Bird Karaoke bar. It was packed and we had so much fun. High energy and friendly. Prices we not jacked up too much at the bars. Some of the restaurants were a little pricey compared to a normal place out of the tourist and very areas. Must see in Budapest if you are looking to party.

Tasty food (Philly steak sandwich) however nothing special especially presentation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would not allow a glass of tap water! Chef wasn't happy that we asked for no salt on the chips 😆 Plum beer very nice, size and price very good.

Gozsdu Court May surprise you with a great atmosphere and local artists. This is what happened to me and I was thrilled to see local arts and handcrafts and talk to their makers. It is worth visiting, pubs/bistros/ restaurants looked great. And Halloween spirit was in the air.

I really cannot, cannot stress how good this place was. We had dinner here after viewing the Parliament lighted at night. We had French fries and a burger. Omg those fren fries are for 3 people, really good served. The burger too good. What I liked the most was the mayonnaise they prepared, really good hand made with excellent ingredients, you can taste the difference right away, nothing like what we have in Mexico with the horrible supermarket brands. Now, the beers, I had 3 beers with no alcohol. All amazing and very cheap compared to what I would pay in Mexico for them. Grab the menu, just pick one. I liked more the brown . The restaurant is housed in a history building in Budapest. The staff is friendly and the restaurant also has live music which makes the experience even better. The service is quick and the food was absolutely delicious. The beef cheeks and the chicken paprikash are some of their specials and didn't disappoint at all. They also have some great cocktails. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant to enjoy some great food with a very nice ambience.

Stopped here for breakfast and really enjoyed the experience. The place is absolutely stunning, marble, gold details, and a glass ceiling that makes the whole hall glow with morning light. I had a chocolate dessert and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was fine, nothing extraordinary, but the dessert was excellent, rich, smooth, and beautifully presented. It’s a bit more expensive than the average café, but the atmosphere and architecture make it totally worth it.

I wanted to enjoy breakfast in this atmospheric place and came at 10:10, looking forward to a pleasant morning. I was greeted by a hostess and told her that I wanted to have breakfast. She offered me a seat in a hall without the beautiful interior view, even though I asked for a table inside. Then I was informed that breakfast was already over, although the menu clearly says it’s served from 9:00 to 12:00. I was told that the main hall was already being prepared for lunch. In the end, they only offered coffee and dessert. I agreed, but even that left a somewhat unpleasant impression — the hostess hung my things unevenly and rather carelessly. At the same time, the waiters were very polite. The interior of the place is truly charming, but I wish the staff at the entrance matched the level of the rest of the team.

A lovely spot for those seeking an elegant café experience. The cakes and drinks are excellent, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere feels relaxing. Their Afternoon Tea set looks promising, but is only served before 5pm. Might come back and try next time!

The atmosphere and location at Parisi Passage were truly outstanding. The place itself is stunning, with beautiful decor and an elegant vibe. The service was also excellent ,the staff were very professional, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening. The live music added a lovely touch and made the night even more special. However, when it comes to the food, I felt it was a bit overrated. We started with the Hungarian classic appetiser, which looked nicely presented but honestly didn’t taste like anything special. For the mains, we ordered beef cheeks and chicken paprikash. Both dishes were decent, but far from the best we’ve ever had. Overall, the amazing service and unforgettable atmosphere made our night wonderful, even though the food didn’t live up to our expectations.

Lovely quaint cafe/bar/restaurant in the heart of surrounding boutique stores. FOOD: Schnitzel, salads, soups, duck or chicken, salmon, beef and a couple of vegan dishes with eggplant or mushrooms. They have a few gluten free options too. STAFF: Need training. A group in front of us wanting lunch were turned away as they walked out the door I realised that the staff had mistakingly assumed they only wanted drinks (the coffee/cake area was full, the restaurant wasn't). The same happened with us. We were told there were no seats available. I asked if all the empty seats in front of us were reserved and was told no but they were for lunch (which is why we were there!). I can't imagine how many people are incorrectly turned away each day as a result of these assumptions. OVERALL: Would recommend and suggest if dining in, you are direct and ask questions as otherwise they may fail to understand/serve you.

Such a nice place and the staff was amazing! Warm and very helpful. We were looking for a pharmacy as it was pretty late, and the guy (pretty sad we didn't get his name) literally went above and beyond to help us!

My order was the goat cheese salad. The portion size was sufficient, and the goat cheese used was really delicious and just as I expected. The plate garnish, although it seemed there was an attempt to balance it with different elements, was not very harmonious and looked a bit messy. As for the service, one issue was that when an item on the menu is unavailable, it should be mentioned when the menu is presented. Unfortunately, at least half of the drink options on the menu were not actually available. The restaurant’s atmosphere was very pleasant, both indoors and outdoors, and it gave off a really good energy.

If you are looking for (probably) the spiciest food in Budapest, I recommend wings with kill bill sauce... If you are just looking for delicious and fresh food, I can recommend the same :). For example Pho beef soup is better than most "Asia Restaurants", served with garlic, chilli and lime. Very nice atmosphere, great service and very friendly prices. What more could you want? :)

Had a quick lunch. The menu is a mix of Asian inspired dishes and traditional cafe specials. Everything has a twist of its own. I had the udon noodles with pulled pork which nothing like a traditional udon dish but delicious nonetheless. Had a feeling of asia meets Hungary.

Great menu, it was hard to chose our dishes. It's rare to find a place that has gteat salads that are not bland classics, this place definately has flavourful salads and wraps for those who don't want to eat too much carbs. The meat dishes were also cooked to perfection, I highly recommend the place.

Amazing bar in the Budapest downtown. Only had drinks there but next time will definitely tru some food. The atmosphere is great, it is quite eccentric but very homely, on the gallery you can sit on the floor even as it’s covered in carpet! Love the decor and real plants too. The staff is very pleasant, the prices are great (650 huf for a pint of lager), overall highly recommend and will definitely come back!

A chill cafe bar ... imagine a bohemian answer to Trader Vics! Luckily, if you're not a cat lover, the feline theme is not central to what this place is about. The Asian feline idols were cleverly purchased from an art importer that was closing down. Everything about this place, from the artwork, to the dimmed down lights and stripped bare brick walls with vaulted ceilings and from the eclectic music mix (reggae rhythms, Asian and arabic strings, tribal beats, jazz, rock and anything in between) to the reasonably priced vegan food and local wine, makes for a chilling ambiance and an enjoyable time!

Great little bar with a cozy atmosphere! Do not underestimate the food here! It’s priced honestly and incredibly good, you could easily come here for a casual dinner and drinking.

Great evening of jazz! Wine And dinner were excellent as well. We started with the 5 mixed appetizers & I had the trout - it was as well presented as it was delicious. Jazz was fantastic, a must vist but be sure and reserve a table!

Beautiful little jazz bar. Was surprised they still had live music on a Tuesday evening. Very talented musicians - a joy to listen to. Ashame some other customers were talking over the top while the band was playing.

Highly recommend whichever night you might visit. I've been to many jazz bars around the world. I can guarantee hungarian jazz and this bar is so high level.

First time in this bar, after hearing lot of positive reviews - for us was just ok. Maybe it was an exception, but due to concert and big nr of guess, for the first drink we waited more than 30 min. Guys were nice, but service was very slow yesterday. Tapas plate like this for almost 10 euro is maybe too much, but food was good. In general, visit was good and as adviced, we will try it again in calmer day😁 PS. If this band was as a Barcelona in football, that I understand everything, also slower service outside. Taking this after consideration, strong 4 and we will come again!

The place is spacious and offers good quality food and drinks. However, I have to rate the service—specifically the bartender on 10.05.2025—as poor because when we ordered our drinks, she was on her personal phone. Although she answered our questions, it didn’t feel like we received 100 percent customer care.

We stopped to get a quick bit to go as this establishment was right next to where we stayed. Very reasonable prices to start, food was excellent! The bartender was great. He absolutely went over and above to make sure we were take care of. Great food, great service, great prices. Will certainly be here agin before we leave!!

At least the service was nice, and the place was clean. Our beers were a bit underpoured (see pic). I'm sure the bartender would've fixed it if we pointed it out, but we weren't too fussed - it should have a bit more attention paid to it, though. Food was awful. Burger meat was generally just not good. Come to think of it, it also wasn't a "smashed burger" as advertised either. Pastrami sandwich is waaaay overpriced (see the pic - it was 4.000 HUF), and also the bread seemed like it needed to be toasted or baked more. The "American pancakes" are made from frozen, flavorless, and come covered in powdered sugar (probably to hide their lack of flavor). I'd suggest removing them from the menu altogether, if you can't do them right. Also, fix the outdoor menu - the burger price is incorrect (less than what is on the menu inside).

Waited 45+ minutes for borderline inedible food that was upcharged for things like "spicy" without our knowledge, as can be seen in other negative reviews. Beers were warm, too. Waiter was pleasant enough. All round bad experience but I don't have food poisoning (yet.)

Went there on 2 different occasions. First time was good (male bartender); second time got 0.3L beer in with 0.1L foam, paid for 0.4L. :) Saw her pull similar beers for others - I hope that changes!

It's a interesting place Different rooms and different environments around also you will find different musics playing. It's a shame that I went earlier and I couldn't stay until late night to see the full house but I can image how fun it is. Absolutely loved this place! 17 different bars and lots of different rooms and areas to drink/eat and dance. Reasonable prices and an amazing atmosphere - quite a young crowd (we are older but didn’t feel out of place ) excellent lively place - didn’t eat but the food looked good.

You can’t get bored in this place!😻😻 it has so many things to see and such a great atmosphere! Though it does need more chairs in the ground floor. A bit confusing about the bars though, we asked if we could have one mojito in one of the bars that had the big board with cocktails but the guy told us we had to pese it somewhere else because he couldn’t make it, not sure why they have the board there then. Prices are alright, I feel like the water should be cheaper tho. A lot of things to see and really worth going for a good party! Different genres in every room and really just good vibes!

Great party place, lots of tourists. You have variety of parties for everyone. From house to rave/techno music. Drinks are very much affordable, one of the security guards who was on the first floor was extremely rude and not accommodating, by not allowing people to pick up their own jackets from inside area because he thinks there are too many people inside that area…

We visited Instant in Budapest and had an amazing time. The club is very large, with multiple connected rooms, each offering different music and atmosphere — from house and techno to hip-hop and party hits. You can easily move around and find the vibe that fits you. The crowd was a mix of locals and travelers, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere. The design is artistic and colorful, making the place visually interesting as well. Drinks are slightly pricier but still reasonable for a nightclub. We recommend arriving a bit early to avoid lines. Overall, a great nightlife experience — highly recommended.
