Ice creams were beautiful and tasted great! We got rose, lavender and white chocolate, peach, oreo, vanilla, dark chocolate, and salted caramel. All flavors were amazing, but the peach, lavender, and rose stood out. 10/10 would recommend.

I saw pictures online of their rose-shaped ice cream and had to try it. I didn’t have high expectations for the taste, but I was pleasantly surprised—it’s really good! There was no line, and the service was fine. A nice, relaxed spot to try something different in Budapest.

Conveniently located right next to St. Stephen’s Basilica. The staff are friendly and have a unique style of serving ice cream. The selection is wide, and the flavors are really good. The place itself is quite small, so you may need to queue outside for a bit, but it’s not too bad. There’s one line for payment, where you get your ticket, and another for ordering your flavours and collecting your ice cream.

The gelato was super delicious and I had an amazing experience getting to try and taste all the flavors. The flavors were super unconventional and honestly matched the vibe of the Gelateria as each gelato itself is shaped into a rose and flower. They had a lot of natural flavors as a result, for example, we got rose, lavender, peach, and they had a ton of other options as well. Their creamed gelato flavors were also delicious and would recommend the gelateria in totality.

Artisanal gelato. It's pricey, but if you are first timers in Budapest, it's worth the splurge. Love the unique floral flavors I got.

Fresh Flavours for summer. It’s an artisan gelato. The staffs making them are really up to it! Had twin type pistachio vanilla & mixed berries tiramisu! Both were great!

The prices are really really high. My usual ice cream places are around Jaszai Mari and I find their quality higher and the prices cheaper. 1,500HUF for two smallish scoops of ice cream is intense. The cherry yogurt flavor was nice but the straciatella was subpar.

Small but delicious ice cream shop in the heart of Budapest. They measure by weight. The pistachio is to die for, I also had the Stracciatella, creamy and full of big chunks of chocolate. It’s a bit more pricey but you get quality. Only improvement could be a few chairs to sit on outside

The icecream is sooo delicious! The vegan-non-sugar pistacio-Icecream tastes sweet and like real pistachio and also the vegan chocolate icecream tastes creamy and fully aromatic!

Very delicious ice cream. We came twice during a weekend. A must try! Also the cheese cake was good.

The cakes here are really delicious, and at first we liked this place and thought we would happily return. Unfortunately, the service completely changed our mind. When we visited, there were no other customers, but the staff member kept a cold face, stayed on her phone the entire time, and didn’t even respond when we said goodbye. Good food is important, but service is just as essential. With such an unfriendly attitude, it’s hard to feel welcome, and we honestly don’t want to come back again. Management should really consider replacing this staff member—such service will only drive customers away.

Ice cream was very good, but service and atmosphere were horrible. The most unfriendly staff - stone face, not a single smile to any of the customers, no greetings. I felt uncomfortable being there - felt like I am intruding being there.

It's quite hard to find a good ice-cream shop in Budapest, but luckily Pomo D'oro is one of them. Making good Italian style gelati with many different flavours is very distinguished in the area. Pistachio is really tasty, but cheesecake and pineapple also tastes like the original. The service is very kind and attentive, and their cakes are exceptional too - especially Sette Veli, everything is recommended here!

The ice cream is fine, good, it is as it should be, and in that sense probably better than any other place in the centre of Budapest. However. It is not 'wow', it does not exceed expectations, and the fact that there are many bad ice cream places, makes this one better only in comparison. Outside of the centre are better ice cream places, but they may require 30+ minutes of walking (or a bus, for those that are ten kilometers away). It's a bit sad that people queue up on the street for an ice cream here. This is not a place of passionate experts who love ice cream, who make a science of it, and import their carefully-selected ingredients from specific regions of the world for the highest quality. Which is fine! Chances are, 90% of the people who will ever read this review will enjoy their ice cream here, so by all means, go. For the other 10%, read a bit through Reddit, take a bus, enjoy an area and an ice cream few tourists will ever see.

The taste is really decreasing when we compare with the past ( as a customer of the last 6 years ) and be careful what you pay for, they often overcharge.

This is a lovely place with both standard and unique homemade gelato flavors. They have selections made with Stevia that taste like they were made with sugar. The pistachio is the best I’ve had - in countless countries visited. Their cakes are moist and delicious. Sometimes I take a different route as I can’t walk by here without stopping for a treat. Service is friendly and efficient and they DO take charge card. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating if you choose. The only disappointing thing is that they close at 8 PM.

We wanted to try the ice cream at first but unfortunately all the flavors were covered and there was a bit poor management in queuing. We were a bit put off by that so we moved to the cake session instead. The cakes were all pleasant looking with very friendly price compared to the portion. The taste was also very nice. There were a lot of available seats, though not very clean.

Anyone who knows me knows I love sorbets. We stumbled upon Hiszteria Cremaria and what a lucky find. Spotlessly clean. Icecream is delicious recommend pear and ginger paired with the dark chocolate or raspberry. We will be back. The coffee also good as was the fresh lemonade (choice of lemonade, raspberry lemonade, mango or strawberry. You can eat in or take out. There are also toilets.

We decided to order the cakes for our wedding from Hisztéria, and it was the best decision we made! The cakes were so delicious, all of the guests were talking about them, and the process of ordering and pick up was so smooth. The best part is we can always come back and taste the same cake any time we want to! Highly recommend Hisztéria for any occasion cake.

Great spot on Andrassy utca. Large selection of gelato and cakes. A few gluten free ones, more fruity flavour than chocolate/cream types. My cake was ok, my friend’s non-gluten-free cake was really good. The service is strange - order cake and sit down, then they come to your table to say your drinks are ready. Then you have to go get your drinks. If they already came to the table, why not just bring the drinks with them? The establishment looks premium (and charges premium prices) but they don’t offer table service? And there was no communication around how to get our drinks - we were watching to see whether they would bring it or not. They also did not brew the tea for me - they just gave me a tea bag next to a cup of hot water. So close to being a nice experience. The food and location and atmosphere is good. The service needs improvement.

The açaí bowls are amazing! And the service is great! They are also very nice and accommodating:) I loved it❤️ it’s a bit pricey, but it’s very delicious, would highly recommend it!

Delicious dairy-free ice pops with great selection of flavors. You can taste that the ice pops are made with fresh fruits/nuts. My favorite is the mango-strawberry, which taste just like real fruit.

We did a short stop at this special ice cream store in Budapest. They produce homemade ice cream and additionally the offer some different and crazy flavors with lavender. The ice cream tastes very good and I had nothing to complain. I tried 2 scoops: dark chocolate with lavender and lemon with lavender. Both flavors had a great taste and especially the lemon was icy and not to much creamy. Now we come to the negative side: it is way too expensive and you pay not by scoops, rather than by weight. For me it was good that we had a taste, but I would not go again.

The ice cream here is yummy, even if a bit costly, but the service at the Vámház körút outlet on 22/9 was very disappointing. When we asked to try samples, the staff reacted with a sour face instead of politely refusing if no samples are given, there should be a clear sign. Later, when I paid for four ice creams in cash, she said she had no small change in the morning and insisted I pay by card, handling the situation rudely. A shop that is open should be ready for cash payments and treat customers with respect.

This is the best artisanal ice cream I‘ve ever had, alongside Vivi‘s Creamery in Ibiza. Highly recommend the lavender options and all the obscure and rare flavours, many of them are vegan! I tried several sorts and the pistachio was the best pistachio ice cream I‘ve ever tasted.

The ice cream was okay. But it's expensive, considering the little ice cream you get. They charge you by weight. The ice cream is not creamy enough and it starts drizzling really fast. While the staff was measuring and trying to charge me, the ice cream almost fell off the cone cause it was melting so fast. The taste is okay, they offer an assortment of interesting flavours. But definitely not going back again.

It’s hard to describe how ridiculously bad this experience was. The lady WEIGHS your Ice Cream, one scoop is approximately 55 grams. To put it into perspective: The small cup which I got my ice cream in was far from being half full. How insanely greedy can you be? Charging 750 HUF for this should be considered a crime. Quality wise, you are better off getting some ice cream from the grocery store.

Nice little place for a rest on a busy day in the castle district. They have plenty of seating outside and service is very friendly. Their gelato is delicious, and their Hungarian lemonades absolutely devine. I did find it to be a bit on the pricy side, but it is a very tourist heavy area.

I am lactose intolerant so it's really hard to find ice cream options besides fruit flavours. We found this place by coincidence and they offer dairy-free pistachio and white chocolate with salted caramel. They were amazing. My husband (dairy eater) had the Belgian chocolate flavour and said it was one of the best ice creams he's ever had. They also have gluten-free cones! We highly recommend this place!!!

I ordered a dessert to share with friends and they got coffee to go. They were told they couldn’t sit at the table inside or outside with take away cups, despite the fact that we were sharing dessert from a plate. Take away cups are more expensive, so they paid more to get kicked out. Then I couldn’t leave with them because I had a massive dessert. The ice cream is mediocre and small.

Great little ice cream place with some really rare selection like salty caramel and wine infused ones. My lemon test though ranked the place to 4 star😁. And they should really make sure the billing is right. We hade different cones ordered but the more expensive was charged. Probably honest mistake as the line was long and noisy. As can be seen on the photos the place is busy and loved by many. So worth the wait I would say if you like speciality cones.

FINALLY, I have found outstanding ice cream in Hungary! 🇭🇺 I've tried many shops in Budapest, Szeged, and Pécs, but I never found any of them good enough to return to. This is THE place for top-level ice cream. My favorite is their pistachio and my girlfriend is a fanatic for the fig, which is loaded with large pieces of fruit. 😋 The employees are very friendly too.

Overall, a rather disappointing experience. While the salted pistachio was decent, the other flavors—lemon, stracciatella, and pineapple—fell below expectations. I was hoping for an excellent gelato experience, especially given the sign at the entrance claiming it’s the number one place in SK, but it didn’t live up to the hype.

The taste was alright, however, the portion size is hilariously small. Good place to go for a laugh as that was what my friend and I immediately did when we left the shop after seeing the small amount of ice cream we received.

Very small italian ice cream place. The service was nice, they had sugarfree options too. The taste was amazing!! I had one coup with poppy seed and one coup with joghurt and peach. You should definitely try this place if you're looking for quality ice cream. And the prices are quite cheap compared to other ice cream places, 400 huf for one coup.

I tried the pistachio chimney cake with pistachio cream and the cinnamon sugar chimney cake with vanilla cream. Both were warm, soft, and tasted good. The pistachio was rich and the cinnamon went well with the vanilla cream. It was quite busy but worth the wait. There’s indoor seating, so it’s a nice place to stop for a quick break.

Was curious with the highest rating chimney cake around here and its definitely paid off. There was a bit of line as all the cakes are made freshly, but i only waited for ~5 minutes. The waiter was so polite. Instead of ordering the special pistachio cake, i tried to combine the coconut and pistachio cream and it was superb. Not too sweet and theres a bit of crunchiness. The portion is also generous.

The best Kürtőskalács I’ve ever tried in Budapest. The pistachio one is a must! There’s usually a bit of a line, but the service is fast and efficient. Just a heads-up: finding a place to sit can be tricky, so it’s best to enjoy it while strolling around the city. Definitely worth a visit!

The best kurtosz kołacz we've ever had. Delicious pastry with a slightly sweet interior, delicious pistachio cream, and Nutella. We chose the option with ice cream, and it was definitely the best choice, although the sweetness level was extreme. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return.

The waffle was super soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I tried the regular waffle with hazelnut cream and tiramisu and dark chocolate ice cream. The ice creams were pretty good as well. The staff was very warm and courteous. Overall I can surely recommend this place.

Tried their pistachio chimney cake, a special version coated with pistachio crush on the outside. It added this fine nutty touch that paired perfectly with the incredibly soft, fluffy dough.

The chimney cake was absolutely delicious, the workers were nice and the waiting wasn't too long. The Nutella filling was great and the cinnamon was mixed with sugar which also was great.

📍Place: located a few steps from the Kelenföld station, easily accessible via public transport. It has some tables inside and outside as well, but to get an ice cream, you can just order it straight from the street. 🍛 Food: I am a big ice cream fan, and this is actually pretty good considering the options in Budapest. I have tried 5 flavours: - Sour cream with honey & raspberry: tasted like a real sweet sour cream, very interesting taste in a good way. - Carrot cake: has some white chocolate on the top, but actually tasted pretty intense. - Erdős: basically a good quality pistachio ice cream with white chocolate and some almonds biscuits - very massive, but good. - Cheesecake: it tasted more like sour cream - Strawberry praline: the chocolate didn't taste good, the strawberry was real, but not too much flavour. Although I didn't see prices, it seems like they charge 140 Ft/10 grams - 1 flavour is 50 grams. Based on this, the portion is surprisingly small, usually at other parlours there are no space left in the cup in case of 3 flavours. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: people were okay, patient, seemed a little bored and burnt out, not the enthusiastic smiling ones but it's okay.

We had doboš cake and their house cake - erdős. 🍰 Cakes are edible, however - they lack elegance, texture, flavour and attention to detail. I did not like the plastic wrap on them - it looks cheap. The air quality is really bad. It smells like a home of an sick old woman with the cats. 🤢 Price is not important to me, but it smells bad and the cakes were underwhelming.

Staff members are speaking proper English, they can offer cakes up on your preferences they also know about the offered different teas. The place itself is really fancy, but very tiny, give it a try and won’t regret for sure. Your dog also welcome. :)

A true hidden gem. Far away from the bustling crowded tourist spots. In front of the shop - a cute shaded seating area. Flavors - out of this world. Properly crafted ice cream. I gather that most fruit flavors are sorbets. But the ice creams…properly thick with pronounced flavors. 100 out of 10!

The ice cream here is absolutely delicious and creamy, with a nice variety of flavours that change daily. We love it so much that we stop by almost every week (if not more often). They also offer dairy-free options, which are just as amazing, and I’m so grateful for that. The Ecuador Chocolate and Maracuja-Mango (both dairy-free) are total standouts and an absolute treat! The service is also always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I went there with high expectations. According to my husband it used to be one of the best ice cream shops in Budapest. It’s been disappointing. Super expensive and the taste below average. The amount of water as compared to the dry content has been too high for my taste. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The staff has been unfriendly too. I know we arrived shortly before closing hours, however we would have deserved to be served nicely and not rushed into choices by personnel waiting with keys in their hand to lock the door. I’ve experienced in other places willingness to stay a bit “overtime”, in case of high traffic around closing hours…

Great place for cakes, coffe or ice cream. I only had a cake, bit I'll go back to try the ice cream as well. It looked delicious. There are seats for about 7-8 people inside, but you can get anything for taking away. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and served us the cake beautifully. It's worth waiting for your bus here.

The pistachio cake and cremosito were out of this world. The hospitality and attentiveness of the staff was also one of a kind. We shall be back for some more cremosito ☕❤️

Everything on their menu is amazing. Their gelato/ice creams are one of, if not the best in Budapest as well as their authentic Italian deserts and sandwiches. Beppe and his brother always make sure of providing a great service italian style, much appreciated and needed in a city with generally abysmal service.

Icecream is nice, but not cheap. To our surprise, the price is not per scoop, but everything is weighted on a scale. We paid 3700 Ft for 1 very small and two slightly bigger ice creams, which is more than what we are used to pay in overall much more expensive city like Amsterdam. But there seems to be so few ice parlors in Budapest (compared to Prague) that they probably don’t have much competition. There is a small bench, 2 chairs and a small table outside - nice for who likes to watch what is happening in the street.

It is really cute small icecream store inside. There are many interesting and delicious vegan icecream options!!! Highly recommend for fried banana and dark chocolate lavender flavor :-) it is not easy to find many vegan taste options but you can find them here and enjoy! #veganicecream #vegandessert

Very good ice cream. Only two tables to sit, when I came I had to eat while standing. The tables are on the sidewalk, near the noisy stroad right in front. The ice cream is very expensive. 4 euro for 2 scoops. VERY good ice cream, though.

We ordered 6 different cakes to share and there were all delicious & made with lovely design & full of taste They have a variety of gluten free & vegan cakes which you hardly find anywhere Toilets are downstairs / underground Staff was not aware of allergy so u need to be careful as I asked her for gluten free cake & she said ( yes it’s vegan ) and when I explained vegan means without animal products while gluten free means without wheat or flour she got upset and kept saying ( yes they are vegan ) 🙄🫤 They need more education & awareness of such allergies

Had a great time here. Pretty decent coffee (maybe little acidic for my taste, but still good), great Royal Chocolate cake and delicious Croque Monsieur. Excellent staff, very pretty interior. Price as expected for the place, not cheap by a longshot but surely not a rip-off.

An iconic and elegant café in the heart of Budapest. I tried the famous Dobos Cake, a traditional Hungarian dessert made of thin sponge layers, rich chocolate buttercream, and a shiny caramel top. It was absolutely delicious, perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The cake itself has a long history: it was created by József C. Dobos in the late 1800s and became one of the symbols of Hungarian pastry art, once served even to the Austro-Hungarian royal family. The interior of Café Gerbeaud is stunning, with chandeliers, marble tables, and an atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. Prices are a bit high, but the experience is truly worth it.

We went to this cafe on a weekday afternoon, and the indoor area was full! Beautiful interior design, very elegant. We had the Hungarian classics on one plate, which contained three slices of dessert selections with vanilla ice cream and apricot sauce. To be honest, didn’t expect that’s how the famous Dobo cake tasted like😅it’s just not for the ones with weak teeth.. the top layer was extremely sturdy. We enjoyed the Gerbeaud slice more.

Definitely worth experiencing once. I got there early in the morning and was lucky to be seated immediately, so I reckon it’s best to go in the morning to avoid the bigger crowds. Came for a quick dobos cake and coffee, was very nice and pleasant but I do think there’s a lot of hype (and history) behind this place. Service is a bit slow but that’s to be expected, and the prices are pretty high. But still and enjoyable and memorable experience. Stunning decor and gorgeous building.

Overpriced and not worth the hype. I visited Gerbeaud Café, intrigued by its historic reputation and grand interior, and went specifically to try the famous traditional Hungarian layer cake — Dobos Torte. However, the experience was quite disappointing. We visited after lunch hours and noticed a queue of about 10–12 people outside, even though it moved fairly quickly. Once inside, we were surprised to see the café almost empty. It really felt like they keep people waiting just to create an illusion of high demand — they could easily allocate seats faster. The most shocking part was the pricing. If you choose to dine in, you pay almost double — for example, a slice of Dobos Torte costs 4,250 HUF when eaten on the premises versus 1,990 HUF for takeaway. We decided to go for takeaway instead, and honestly, I’m glad we did. The famous Dobos cake itself was underwhelming — the caramel layer on top was rock hard and nearly impossible to cut, the sponge layers were dry, and the overall taste was overly sweet and unimpressive. An experience I wouldn’t repeat, and definitely not something I’d recommend — especially considering the unreasonable prices.

I didn’t know this place and I was invited there. Very nice old style tea place where you can find food too. The cakes are excellent and the tea and coffee options great. I got a good cake , a lemonade and an espresso martini - excellent for a 5 o’clock moment.

An excellent Italian restaurant with outstanding pizza. They offer several types of pizza, and while the menu isn’t very extensive, both the pizza and pasta are excellent. The ravioli is a bit less impressive. There’s no dedicated kids’ menu, but the pizza portions are perfect for children. Desserts are also very good. Reservations are a must, otherwise, expect about a 40-minute wait.

We tried to walk in but it was full so we booked for the following evening. We shared 3 pastas which were delicious and well seasoned. For pudding we had the chocolate cakelet which was basically melt in the middle which was very tasty. Atmosphere was buzzing and very cosy! The service was…interesting. One waiter was a little impatient and unfriendly but nevertheless, very attentive. I will say there seemed to be only one size of wine glass and the amount was quite small.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! As a vegetarian, I didn’t expect a wide selection, but the team went above and beyond they made a custom Aglio Olio for us(not in the menu), and their DOP pizza was absolutely outstanding. The garlic oil and chili oil were the perfect touch, a true delight for an Indian palate. The desserts, especially the tiramisu and panna cotta, were mind-blowing. This place is an absolute must-visit, easily among the top Italian restaurants in Budapest.

We came for a group lunch and had a great experience. We were a big party and we got a seating without a reservation. The staff is very nice and professional and makes great recommendations. Their entire menu is great and you will find all the traditional dishes suited for both meat eaters and veggetarians. My recommendation is canneloni and lasagna. They are both exceptional. A must for any foody and Italy lover. 🇮🇹♥️

The food was luxurious and delicious, and the waiters were so kind and welcoming with a smile. The bread and olive oil were also light and savory. It's a bit pricey and it's a service charge, but it's a waste of hospitality. If I have a chance, I'd like to come here again before I go to Korea

Everything about this Italian restaurant was absolutely amazing — the staff, the atmosphere, and of course, the flavors. We ordered two dishes: CARBONARA and PROSCIUTTO E FUNGHI; both were incredibly delicious. We also went with the wine pairing recommended on the menu, and it was spot on — perfectly matched with the food and so enjoyable. The portions were generous; we didn’t feel hungry for the rest of the day, which, as tourists, was a huge plus 😅👌 I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience 🤌🤌🤌

Coffee was very delicious. Went there every single day during my stay in Budapest. I tried the V60, cappuccino and flat white and they were all really good. All the staff members were very well trained and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who‘s looking for speciality coffee.

We visited three coffee shops while in Budapest and this one was my fav. While the aesthetics of the place wasn’t wow, I don’t know, there was a special vibe. Had an aussie cappuccino and a cinnamon bun and they were DELICIOUS.

I had a latte and a Cinnamon Bulle. The tase of latte was amazing and after some chat with the barista and he mentioned the coffee beans are light roasted. The atmosphere was great too. It's worth trying. It cost me in tital about 12 CAD but worth trying and chitchating with them. It was during a hot day in Budapest, 31 degrees and it was a bit hot in there. It they kept the door the air was pleasant inside.

The best coffe in the city. The service is sensational, and the people working there are sweet and have a great mood. They are exemplary on what they do, and the coffes are special and blasts beautifully within your body giving you tasteful butterflies. As an Aussie I can say the coffee was really nice! The banana bread was one of the best I’ve ever had! And the staff were really nice and friendly. I would recommend this spot!

Daubner is a letdown despite the hype. The waiting line is incredibly long and chaotic, with no clear system, and the staff isn’t particularly friendly. You even have to pay extra just to sit and eat your cake there, which feels unwelcoming. Also disappointing that they don’t offer milk-free options. Expected much more from such a famous place.

We recently visited Daubner Cukrászda, and I have to say, the cakes were the best I have ever tried also We tried some ice cream, and every single item was absolutely delicious. The quality and flavor were exceptional, making it well worth the trip. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We ordered birds milk cake, chocolate and coconut cake and both were amazing. With high reviews and ratings here, they sure do live up to their excellent reputation. Their cakes taste delicious, and you can tell that they used fresh ingredients. It was an overall pleasant experience trying their cakes as it’s our first time in Budapest!

What can I say, it's an incredible bakery with amazing and unique cakes to Hungary. The variety they had was overwhelming, you could've spent several days, and you would still not be done trying all the cakes. Everything went very fast when you were ordering, they also had a lot of different flavours of ice creams. We got Pogácsa and a few different slices of cake and the cakes were very light and super tasty and the Pogcása were the star of the show. It is a bit outside, but it was a smooth ride to get there. Make sure to go here to get some pastries and cakes while in Budapest.

Amazing bakery. When I spent a week in a hotel 1km away I went here three times. It was that good. Lots of people every time but service was quick and not much waiting. Service also in English.

Treated myself with Raspberry Omlett and Raspberry Bird's Milk Cake. Usually not so impressed with local sweets in Hungary, but this century-old confectionary might just be an exception. Can't say I totally loved the two desserts, but this is the taste I can enjoy and appreciate. Also not very sweet.

Besides the fact that their packaging for delivery orders does nothing to protect the cakes (one of them broke in two as all of them are squished onto one paper tray) the cakes themselves were disgusting. The Nutella cheescake was dry and tastes nothing like Nutella, I wouldn't be surprised if they simply gave me a different cake. The Strawberry and White chocolate cake SMELLS bad even from far away and tastes like at least the fruit in it already went bad. I've attached images of what it looks like too. I should've read reviews before ordering from here, I just hope none of my family or me get health issues from this.

I ordered a cake that I ate once in another birthday. So I ordered the same and PAID IN ADVANCE but they sold my cake to someone else. When I arrived they told me that the cake has been sold because I wouldn’t arrive to take the cake but the scheduled hour was between 17-18h and I arrived 17h40!!!!! They made me wait for another cake for 40 mins which was not the cake that I ordered. I ordered brownie basis and they said me it was brownie but guess what, it was actually a biscuit basis. It was extremely disappointing because everybody was expecting the cake that I order originally. And I paid 13.000 HUF for this. This place ruined my mother’s birthday. If you don’t want a birthday without a cake, you should never shop from here.

The ambiance was good, but the Cheesecake and the coffee were horrible. The Cheesecake doesn't taste like there's cheese in it, and the coffee was so burned and bitter. Moreover, I ordered a flat white and it came with a lot of foam!!!

I recently ordered a cake for a birthday and sent detailed instructions ahead of time. However, when I arrived to collect the cake, I found that the name on it was incorrect. When I requested the correction, I was shocked to see the staff member using her ungloved finger to erase the name and rewrite it. Disgusting. She also complained about having to take care of her kids, which seemed irrelevant. Three days prior, I had asked if it would be alright to pick up the cake slightly after closing time due to a restaurant reservation. I tried to remain polite during the collection and understanding to avoid spoiling the birthday surprise, but the cake ended up looking quite unattractive after the alteration. To make matters worse, the dark chocolate and raspberry cake I ordered turned out to be sour and no one enjoyed it. I paid 18,000 HUF for this disappointing experience. Having been a loyal customer of this cake shop for over 10 years, I've never been more disappointed. The service, food, and atmosphere deserve only 1 star.

Lovely mango and passion fruit cheesecake. Also the hungarian marshmallow cheese cake was good. The cookies, I would expect more butter taste. Bit expensive, but worth a try.

Was looking for a place, where to try local cakes - this is not it. However, the cake I tried (coffee cheesecake) was magnificent! It was hard to choose. All of them looked amazing. And large coffee was actually large. In some places it is not 😁 Loved the whole vibe of the cake shop.

The price value ratio is the best you can get. We had two different types of cake and both were very good. The slices were medium size which is great considering that in many other places you get much smaller cake slices. We dine in and I would say that the place is just a bit cramped, we were just two people so it was fine, but if we were more, than it would have been a problem. Also, I would say that although the cakes were very very good, they were a bit too sweet for our taste and compared to the cakes we are used to.

Ordered a cake for birthday from here and it was beautiful and delicious too. The mousse cream was delicious, the only thing is that for a mousse cake I would expect slightly more cream inside. You can sit outside, which is great, and the inside is very nicely decorated too, will definitely visit for coffee and dessert too!

While I loved their cakes, especially the Somlói galuska and mákos-meggyes pite (I LOVE everything poppy seed that’s very hard to get in NY) I can’t get past the poor customer service. Reviews mention ill treatment of foreigners, rest assured, they treat their Hungarian speaking customers just as poorly. I ordered three slices of cake and some pogácsa, the lady serving us spectacularly rolled her eyes after plating each item. Quality is great, sweets are absolutely worth the calories but you just sort of lose your appetite when treated with such apathy.

I called Wednesday morning to prepaire a cake until Friday afternoon and the answer was negative that I should make the order one week earlier. I was so sad about it,Nevermind I asked Hungarian friend to call and she could make the order of the cake for the same day I previously asked.So my question is that you are accepting orders only from Hungarians ? We visited Nándori Cukrászda on a Saturday and ordered the krémes sós karamellás and somlói, both of which were absolutely delicious. However, there was quite a long queue, which is understandable for a popular spot on the weekend. Although tables become available relatively quickly, we noticed that no one had time to clean them in between customers. This was a significant downside, as we had to enjoy our desserts surrounded by dirty plates from previous guests. The place itself is beautiful, and the cakes are of high quality, but unfortunately, it lacks atmosphere. While the desserts are worth a visit, a bit more attention to cleanliness and ambiance would enhance the overall experience.

Everything is perfect! The atmosphere is great, warm; staff are friendly. There was a queue but it went fast. The prices are okay coffee is cheaper compared to other places in the neighborhood. There is nothing to say for desserts, delicious! I’ll definitely try each of them.

My new favourite artisan/vegan coffee/cake shop in Pest, hands down! They have this amazing thing called sweet gorilla, i would discribe it as an in-house brewed (coffee and cocoa) mocha. Its the best, creamiest, cleanest and smoothest tasting amazing chocolaty coffee creation, that i can just not get out of my head. I loved the name so we had to order it cold (for me) and hot (for my partner) both were exceptional. I also appreciated the glass straw mine was served with. We tried the vegan ice-creams, i liked the mango best. We also sampled kne cake on the premises (strawberry matcha - was very good) and took a box of 4 home to try - the round raspberry was my fav, everyone loved the fusia punk one, the chai latte caramel is very good if you like those flavours. And the tiramisù for me was a bit too nutty tasting but still good. Service is very meticulous, helpful and friendly so just ask fir recommendations when you are there. Absolute must for all to take a photo on the hanging-trunk swing inside! Note: at the moment they are open from Thursday to Sunday only.

Very good place with reasonable prices for having a dessert and a cup of coffee or hot chocolate outside of the st Stephens Basilica. We went to try the famous Dobos cake. The cake was great, excellent price, and fast service! We also tried the raspberry strudel which was great. But we went for the Dobos and would return!

We stopped here on route to St Stephen's Basilica for a slice of cake and a coffee ☕ Yes there's Costa and Starbucks in Budapest but you need to avoid them, they're overpriced and the coffee just doesn't compair to these small cafés. This one again served very high quality coffee with an Americano costing about £1.50 and a Latte just under £2 and I'd much rather support these cafés than the multimillion dollar chains! Both the coffee and cake were gorgeous and once again a lovely little find on our journey around Budapest.

Really good ice cream, with some interesting flavours. The density of the ice cream is perfect and it taste very soft and creamy. I didn't try them (yet) but I saw they also have some yummy cakes. The staff is really nice and kind. About the price, I think is really good and cheep, for the quality of the products. I think I will come back for sure. Highly recommended!

I had dinner at this restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide. Unfortunately, it was only open for outdoor dining, so I couldn’t enjoy the interior, which looked very charming. I was drawn by their philosophy of using local ingredients, and the service staff were consistently polite and professional. The dishes were simple yet very well prepared, with excellent quality ingredients that I truly appreciated. I also discovered new recipes I hadn’t tried before, especially among the desserts. The wine selection was also very good, with both local and international options. Overall, a very good experience.

Szaletly is a beautiful spot in Budapest with a thoughtful menu and warm atmosphere. While many of their dishes are soy-based - which limited my options due to dietary restrictions - the items I was able to enjoy were absolutely delicious. The flavors were refined and memorable, and the presentation was lovely. The staff was kind and accommodating, and overall, it was a wonderful dining experience despite my limitations. If you don’t have dietary restrictions, you’ll be spoiled for choice, but even with them, the quality of what I had made it well worth the visit.

Everything was perfect. The food was amazing. The staff were the best! They were professional and kind. They even gave us a complimentary dessert because they noticed we just got married. These were also very good desserts too! We would definitely love to come back when we're in Budapest again. 💯

Wonderful. I have been trying to go to lots of new places for my 60th birthday year, and this was the last of the trips. To treat us, I booked the tasting menu - on vegetarian, and one not - both with the wine pairings... It was a lovely experience, I enjoyed all the wines, apart from the saki - which is a personal thing. For the price, you wouldn't get this back home. Can recommend!!!

Szaletly offers an elevated take on Hungarian cuisine in a calm, beautifully designed setting. I started with the foie gras mousse, paired with raspberry-honey pear purée, chamomile apple and a hazelnut brioche. It tasted rich, balanced, and creative. The cellar goulash (pincepörkölt) was a standout: very tender Hungarian Simmental beef in a deep, flavorful sauce, served with warm smoked potatoes. The smoked potatoes added an earthy, aromatic touch. It was surprisingly good. As for the desert, Tokaji duo + bites, matched with two stunning sweet wines: Serpens 2018 and Bott-rytis. A perfect ending. Service was smooth and knowledgeable, Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore the depth of modern Hungarian gastronomy.

The food, service, and ambience were excellent – everything lived up to expectations for a Michelin-starred restaurant. However, I was surprised to see that dogs are allowed inside. While I understand it may appeal to some guests, it did attract a few flies during our visit, which felt out of place in such a refined setting. Even some public squares in Budapest, like Parliament Square, don’t allow dogs, so it was hard to reconcile this policy with the otherwise high standards of the restaurant.

Cozy place with very good desserts and coffee. A place that you can find a lot of local products. If you are visiting the Citadella it’s worth to stop by and relax before you continue your sightseeing in the city. Totally recommend it!

Love the concept of the store and how its not your average ice cream shop. Each flavor cup has a combination of cake/sauces etc.. The sugar free pistachio gelato was really good not too sweet and tastes like real pistachios

Tried a Cloud9 Vanilla ice-cream at the Rakpart on Sunday. Choice was not big, portions seem very small. The cone was far from fresh and didn’t taste good. Also, the vanilla was not strong. The scooper girl hardly knew how to work with ApplePay and was not able to give me a receipt. All in all, not a great experience and for sure no value for money. Not recommended.

Good ice-cream, but maybe we picked the wrong flavour. There were small pieces inside, something like cake, and it kinda ruined the ice cream for us.

A veritable hidden gem. While everyone is grabbing mediocre gelatos from stands, you can waltz in here knowing that you're having la crème de la crème. This ice cream is served at the exact perfect temperature where it melts in your mouth upon contact. Aptly named, you may feel as if your taste buds are floating on Cloud 9. The ingredients are sourced with care, and you can taste the quality right away. The desserts are neither loaded with excess sugar nor preservatives. The owner, Mark, is a super sweet gent who clearly cares about his creations and has a veritable sweet tooth himself. The store itself is lit in a fluorescent fashion reminiscent of the old school ice cream parlours, but there is also the option of sitting outside. If you manage to stop by near the golden hour you can take your delicious dessert to the bridge and watch the sun set for another sweet treat.

They managed to elevate ice cream to a whole new level. If you try their flavor matches you will not go back to regular ice cream again. Very well thought out great mini experience every cup. Do yourself a favor and make this place one of your stop when in Budapest

One of the best pastry shops in Budapest. The cakes are amazing, complex flavors and perfect appearance. You can taste that they are made with top quality ingredients, making the price point a bit on the more expensive side, but still totally worth it. The place itself is small and cozy, has a good vibe and the staff is friendly.

Malna won the award for the best pastry shop of the year in Hungary in 2022. As someone local to the area, this wasn't my first visit 🙂, the service and the quality of the cakes, the kindness of the owner Zoltan and his staff is simply outstanding. Imagine that you enter a 5 star hotel for afternoon tea in London or in Paris, that's the same level of service as you will receive in this local gem. All the cakes I tried would deserve a separate review, that's how good all pastries are. But don't take my word for it: go visit Malna and its very welcoming owners, get the raspberry cake and be prepared to order everything else they have.

Nice ice cream, but it's not worth it. You can find better flavors with better prices in other places around. It's pricey because it's supposed to be Italian* and because it's in a turístic street, that's it. It would be nice to offer sugar - and lacto-free options. I visited that so-called “ice cream” place — though calling it ice cream is generous. What they serve is basically warm pudding in disguise. They don’t let you try any flavors, probably because they know once you do, you’ll run straight out the door. And honestly? They’re doing you a favor. Every scoop is a sugar bomb with zero actual flavor. It’s like someone whispered the name of a fruit while dumping artificial syrup into a bucket. The only reason people flock there is because it’s the last place standing after 10 PM — it’s either that or nothing, and let’s be real, nothing might be the better choice. My whole family ended up tossing our ice creams. Even the trash bin looked offended. If you value your digestive system and your taste buds, steer clear of this scammy little shop that somehow claims to be “the best in Budapest.” Don’t fall for the hype. You’ve been warned.

Arrived in June, weather was warm. Their granita was the perfect thing in between shopping. My husband had a scoop of caramel and a scoop of chocolate gelato. Rich taste, not a cloying sweet flavor, very good! Highly recommend!

I always get pistachio when I go to a gelato place, so I can tell when it’s the good stuff. And honestly it’s really good here and the flavor’s super rich. Only downside is, it’s kinda expensive even compared to other European countries.

A true artizan Gelato place. Flavors are very intense and melts on your taste buds. There are many flavors to choose from. Only complain would be the price where even in Munich it doesn’t get this expensive

The best ice cream in Budapest centre. The ice cream is of a very high quality, in ingredients, in temperature, in texture, in creativity, and in every metric I can think of. The flavours change every time a flavour is finished, which is nice. There are the usual gelato flavours (bacio, cremina, et cetera), there are not so much of the ordinary ice cream flavours (e.g. vanilla, chocolate), but there are many creative variations on these flavours (e.g. Belgian chocolate, Ecuadorean chocolate, I think there are at least three kinds of flavours that involve pistachio as the main component, there is ordinary vanilla but also multiple vanilla-adjacent flavours, et cetera). I loved the creativity and the taste of these flavours. Any ice cream place can be successful with e.g. a basic Oreo flavour, but this ice cream place showed that it can take basic flavours and professionally create creative masterpieces. The pistachio, vanilla, and chocolate (the three flavours I use to judge an ice cream place) are all excellent, and all the derivations of these that I tried were surprisingly excellent too - my compliments! The staff is super nice too, not only to the customers but also to each other (which is important; you'd hope that employees enjoy their work). Shout out to M&M! :) There is nice music playing (with which the staff also interacts), and there is a sizeable inside space (two floors) for you to sit down and enjoy the ice cream. Also, if this place ever implements ice cream flavours based on country flags or on personality tests - I take the credits for that. :P

We wanted to eat some high end pastries and this place did not disappoint. All in the family enjoyed both the salted caramel one and the cherry one. Everything is so pretty and well thought. If you want to give yourself a treat, this is the place to go.

Small place, like 2 tables and bar with 2-3 seats, but the desserts are legendary, taste and visualization. Worth visiting, great service and also good coffee.

Honestly, it’s a one-time experience. For a high price, you get a beautiful-looking dessert that you actually have to make yourself to eat. Maybe there’s something special about the crunchy part, but after the first bite you realize you’re only forcing yourself to finish it because you paid for it. No atmosphere, very tiny place… I honestly don’t understand why people are so crazy about it.

We discovered this little shop by chance. As the name suggests, it's truly art. The very friendly staff introduced us to the new fruit dessert. We bought various items, including chocolate ones, and were delighted with everything. When we're back in Budapest, we'll definitely visit this shop. Many thanks to the professional staff!

A place I’m genuinely hesitant to share - because I fully intend to come back EVERY SINGLE time I’m in Budapest! Nour is an absolute confection experience. Their desserts are works of art, both visually stunning and bursting with flavor. They were already sold out of the apple dessert for the day (which tells you everything you need to know about how beloved this place is), and honestly, if more people knew about it, the line would stretch well into the street. Warm service, a beautiful atmosphere, and exquisite creations. Nour is a must visit for anyone who loves sweets done right. My only regret is not getting one of everything!

Pretty presentation but disappointing taste. Mostly cream inside, little flavor depth, and not much detail given about the items.

Had simple soup : udons to al dente for my taste, the broth was good, but not special, I appeciated the fresh cilantro/mint combo you get in a extra glas. The pickelt veggie was mediocre (to much vinegar and sugar). All in one : to expensive for the food given.

Not worth the money. Tartare was great but I suggest to add more bread. Soup - broth was very tasty but noodles were kind of undercooked. The eggs were really vinegary which I have never experienced before. Overall, disappointment.

Dandan noodles were good, but slightly oily as you have to fish out the little meat bits. It is great that they offer an option to add extra noodles for the sauce though. I enjoyed the decorations on the walls, but the tables were bit too close together. They have a mandatory dine in 12% service charge, but the service was mediocre. A request to not have cilantro in one of the orders didn’t happen.

Udon was a little hard in the middle, the soup was rich, the beer tap wasn’t working, the atmosphere was great. When I was asked how my meal was I said it was good. I didn’t want to say it to his face he was too kind I wouldn’t have been able to explain myself face to face.

Delicious food and decent service. The place is very small, and the tables felt a bit too close to one another outside, where we sat. The price of the eponymous signature dish is somewhat high, yet it is absolutely worth a visit.

Excellent excellent excellent! Just go, order everything and enjoy. Maybe book ahead though, we went on a quiet Monday half an hour after it opened for the night and was told there’s be a 90 mins wait. Luckily we didn’t have to wait that long but if we’d had, it still would have been worth it.

Great location on a quiet street nearby tram and bus stops and a subway station. The staff was always willing to assist and the breakfast is impeccable. Great bang for buck deal! I recommend it!

This is no 3 or 4 star hotel, more like NO stars. The staff was rude and not friendly at all, for even a small question it sounded that I was bothering them. Then you get to the room, AC didn’t work on a 28 C degree day; the bathroom had a horrible smell of dirty faucet, the rug was dirty, the rooms were dirty (we had 2 rooms) and then my sheets had holes in it. I didn’t leave because there was no hotels available on a busy summer weekend, but it was the worst stay of our lives on a 40 day Eastern European vacation; and to top it off a the price, this was not a budget hotel price, it was absolutely OVER priced hotel for what it was, because not even the location was good.

Dear General Manager of the Corvin Sissi Wing Hotel. We would like to kindly ask you just one question: on your vacation, would you stay at such a hotel for 260 euros a night? If not, may be you should do it, just to understand what your guests, who pay this amount of money, feel when staying in such conditions. Good location, rooms are clean with amenities, staff is polite. Only dow side is sounds inside hotel because you can hear everything from the hall.

It's nice but I didn't pay for it so I'm not sure if it's worth the price. Breakfast was ok .. while I was there one of the coffee machines broke which made it inconvenient.

The hotel is located in a small and quiet street just behind the main boulevard, the nearby surrounding area has many restaurants, shops etc. Within a short walk you can take the metro or tram which practically takes you anywhere in Budapest. I stayed 3 nights at the Sissi Wing. The hotel facilities and the room is nice and clean with a welcoming atmosphere. Room temperature during winter is excellent (no risk of the hotel being to cold) and there's a wide selection of TV channels. There are some signs of wear on the interior in the room but overall nothing that's disturbing especially considering the price. I think this applies only to the Sissi Wing which is older and therefore cheaper. There's a small refrigerator in the room and also a vending machine in the lobby with a variety of soft drinks and snacks. As I understand the breakfast is always included in the price (a rare thing nowadays). The breakfast was good with a good selection of options. It's a nice, clean and welcoming hotel for a fair price. The only negative for me was that there's a traditional key to the room (which is somewhat clunky) instead of a key card.

Beautiful and tasty cakes, high quality ice cream. The place is small and friendly and usually it's not crowded so it's great for individuals and small groups. Prices are a bit high but it's still affordable. Staff is nice and kind.

They have great variety of gluten free cakes and cookies. Had 2 paleo options, and one lactose free choice. 😊 I was very happy to see that. Other normal options were there too, beautiful colors and forms of cakes. Definitely a must try when you are in the neighborhood. 😊

Way overpriced, compared to value received. We paid 7.200 for the two of us. There is a limit to legal rip-off and it's beyond that. Yogurtalso was like crushed ice. Only one kind was without sugar (natural plain yogurt). Not recommended.

Fúj. Horrible. The worst froyo place I have ever been. Looks bomb but tastes disgusting. Disgusting after taste and chocolate is bitter. No Nutella no good sauces. Caramel is Also horrible. VERY EXPENSIVE. Fruits are tasting old and moldy. Hekk no.
