Instant-Fogas Complex in Budapest is a must-visit for those looking to experience the city's vibrant nightlife. This entertainment venue features seven unique rooms, an open terrace, 18 bars, 6 dance floors, and 2 gardens. The complex offers a diverse range of music genres including rock, hip-hop, pop, Latin music, techno and R&B. Visitors can enjoy concerts and mingle with an international crowd while experiencing the surreal decor that reflects Budapest's famous ruin bar scene.
Best club in budapest, a huge complex with multiple rooms playing different music, has a big garden which is a part of the club and smoking is allowed there. Drinks are a bit on the pricier side but the entrance is free. They play great music and the atmosphere is usually really good and it's always busy! It is open until late, like 5 or 6 am. Definitely a good night out and I would recommend this place if you want to have a good party. Only downside is that there generally seems to be a lot more males in here than females from personal experiences.
Scoobs222 — Google review
It's a interesting place Different rooms and different environments around also you will find different musics playing. It's a shame that I went earlier and I couldn't stay until late night to see the full house but I can image how fun it is. Imagine you get in a labyrinth that everywhere you explore you would find something fun

Absolutely loved this place! 17 different bars and lots of different rooms and areas to drink/eat and dance. Reasonable prices and an amazing atmosphere - quite a young crowd (we are older but didn’t feel out of place ) excellent lively place - didn’t eat but the food looked good.
Nigel H — Google review
You can’t get bored in this place!😻😻 it has so many things to see and such a great atmosphere! Though it does need more chairs in the ground floor. A bit confusing about the bars though, we asked if we could have one mojito in one of the bars that had the big board with cocktails but the guy told us we had to pese it somewhere else because he couldn’t make it, not sure why they have the board there then. Prices are alright, I feel like the water should be cheaper tho. A lot of things to see and really worth going for a good party! Different genres in every room and really just good vibes!

Instant Fogas is a must-visit in Budapest! Huge ruin club with multiple dance floors, bars, and different music styles for every taste. The vibe is electric, the crowd lively, and the atmosphere truly unique. Perfect place to party all night and experience Budapest’s famous nightlife!
Erand X — Google review
The best place in Budapest. Free entry❗️only drinks you need to pay if you want. Amazing atmosphere, many dance floors, beautiful views and design I can recommend!🪩
Rocky L — Google review
Great party place, lots of tourists. You have variety of parties for everyone. From house to rave/techno music. Drinks are very much affordable, one of the security guards who was on the first floor was extremely rude and not accommodating, by not allowing people to pick up their own jackets from inside area because he thinks there are too many people inside that area…
Vanja S — Google review
We visited Instant in Budapest and had an amazing time. The club is very large, with multiple connected rooms, each offering different music and atmosphere — from house and techno to hip-hop and party hits. You can easily move around and find the vibe that fits you. The crowd was a mix of locals and travelers, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere. The design is artistic and colorful, making the place visually interesting as well. Drinks are slightly pricier but still reasonable for a nightclub. We recommend arriving a bit early to avoid lines. Overall, a great nightlife experience — highly recommended.

Ötkert is a vibrant and bustling venue located in a beautifully renovated 19th-century building at the heart of the city. It offers a more polished experience compared to other ruin-pub-themed counterparts, with DJs spinning discs across two rooms playing various music genres. The club features an open-air dance floor and terrace, as well as an exclusive VIP area for those seeking a more sophisticated experience.
This review is gonna talk about the otkert as a night open-air club , definitely my favourite club while I was visiting Budapest , the atmosphere is amazing , the music & interactions with the crowd creates charming and lovely environment, the place offers 2 dance floors , usually with different types of music , and the entry fee for me was 3500 FT, not recommended to come after 00:00, the place is just too crowded and the line most of the time is long , the place can get very tight and yet insure a wonderful experience. I would suggest for the place owners to limit the amount of people going in depending on the people that go out. The place is not big enough to accept too much visitors . Anyway great place, one of the best , the staff is nice and the place feel safe with security guards and ID check ( even through the phone ). Go check this club out ! ( don’t expect to buy drinks there cheaply ) Bring budget , it’s a club after all!

We booked the VIP booth next to the DJ on Saturday and had an awesome time, the Dj really good and energetic, the security did a great job in making it feel exclusive, I would also like to give a special mention to our server Emma, she was very helpful and attentive to our needs at all time. Was an amazing experience it genuinely recommend it. Thanks from Jared and the lads
JJ F — Google review
What an incredible experience! My friends and I were visiting Budapest for a stag do and Otkert was at the top of the list of venues we wanted to visit. We can now say it was a great decision and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The VIP service was truly exceptional on both nights we attended. On Friday, we enjoyed the Gold Area, and the service was top-notch. Then, on Saturday, we had pre-booked the Diamond Area right next to the DJ booth, and it was even better! A massive shoutout to Emma, who was our main waitress both nights. She was absolutely brilliant – attentive, friendly, and made our experience unforgettable. We'll definitely repeat if we return to Budapest!!!

Overall, we had a good time – the music and atmosphere were really nice. However, there was one very unpleasant moment: a security guard grabbed my friend roughly by the hand, insisting she show him her bag, even though she didn’t even have a bag with her. After realizing that, he still pulled her strongly just to “check” and then called her an idiot. It didn’t completely ruin our night, but it was a very disrespectful gesture that shouldn’t happen in such a place.
Adelina M — Google review
Didn’t like place, didn’t like food- tried Langos but it was served almost cold, not tasty and sausage on it was not good. One langos no drink 15€. Would not come there ever and don’t recommend to even stop by. Overpriced food drinks. There are many much much better places around that area.
Erik H — Google review
...the location is spot on in the city of Budapest. As other reviews told, rather very young audience. I have been there with my wife and we both have risen the avarage age dramatically. Starting with a lot of girls, early but later only young boys hanging around on the dance floor. The music was,..., at least dance-able, but truly got repeated after three hours. So overall funny experience for us, mostlikely we were not the targeted audience. Bar crew was kind and quick, loos were kept clean.
Peter J — Google review
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, amazing service though I didn’t realise that I was charge for extra things that I was told came as part of my meal and my husbands meal an extra €4 each plus they charged for ketchup and mayonnaise in a restaurant. They also charge 15% automatic service charge on anything you purchase which is off putting to add to your bill plus when you go to pay they still ask if you want to leave a tip on top of it like what can I not just go out and eat and enjoy my meal without worrying about service charge and additional tip? Hmmm the food was good but not that good to leave 15% tip on top of 15% service charge, plus the food was not cheap for Budapest. This is not good at all as now I wouldn’t recommend my friends or family to visit and face these extra fees at the end of a meal. Lovely service food was good but too many no no nos for me.

Szimpla Kert is a must-visit in Budapest, known for being one of the oldest and most famous ruin bars in the city. Located in the Jewish quarter, this huge pub is filled with an eclectic mix of old items and even features a disused Trabant car. The building itself is impressive, adorned with diverse objects hanging from walls and ceilings. Visitors can enjoy live music, food, a market area, and a garden within its alternative decor.
Amazing open-air experience! This place is absolutely fantastic – an open patio with multiple bars, each offering something unique. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for any occasion. The cocktails are simply outstanding – creative, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. A must-visit spot if you love great drinks and an amazing vibe!
Roni S — Google review
Such a unique place - as a tourist you HAVE to go. Buzzing place at night but particularly I recommend going during the day. You get to see how great this place is and everything it has. Day drinking in a ruin bar will easily become the highlight.
Rituja R — Google review
I don’t go to bars, so I haven’t experienced Szimpla Kert at night, but visiting during the Sunday market was really nice! From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., local producers offer a wide range of fresh and artisanal products, including breads, cheeses, honey, jams, yogurts, pasta, and traditional Hungarian sweets. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and entry is free—perfect for anyone wanting to explore the local culture in an authentic way.
Luana B — Google review
A wild, unforgettable experience, Budapest’s ruin bar culture at its best. Szimpla Kert is unlike any bar I’ve ever visited. Located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, it’s the original ruin bar, a concept born from transforming abandoned buildings into eclectic, artsy nightlife spaces. The place is a visual overload: mismatched furniture, bathtubs as seats, graffiti-covered walls, and quirky installations everywhere you look. I went once at night. Night time, , is when Szimpla comes alive: live music, DJs, and a buzzing crowd of locals and tourists. It’s loud, chaotic, and absolutely fun. Drinks are reasonably priced for a tourist hotspot, and they have a good selection of local craft beers (try the Budapest Lager) and cocktails. The staff were friendly, and the vibe was welcoming despite the crowds. Tips: Go early if you want to explore the space and take photos. At night, expect crowds—especially on weekends. Would I go back? Definitely. Szimpla Kert is more than a bar, it’s a cultural experience and a must-see if you’re in Budapest.
Kelvin W — Google review
Such a cool and new experience for me! I went both day and night, and they both had two very different vibes. I would recommend getting a coffee in the morning to explore the flea market as well and at night visiting around 7-8pm to avoid the queue (weekend) and grabbing a cherry ale. The cherry ale was lovely and the interior blew my mind. Strongly recommend to visit!
Emma — Google review
Fun and vibrant spot with great energy! The decor is quirky and full of character, and the atmosphere is lively every night. Drinks are good, though a bit pricey and crowded at times
Sadra — Google review
Night vs. Day – The Perfect Contrast! On Friday night, the place explodes into an electrifying party with multiple bars and a superb international vibe. On Sunday morning, the same space amazingly transforms into a calm, charming Farmer's Market, complete with high-quality live cover music. The atmosphere in both modes is completely different and absolutely mesmerizing. In short: It’s a genius idea for dual space utilization! A must-visit!
Amit — Google review
Just popped in to see what the hype was all about and it was packed on a weekday! Authentic ambiance and lived up to its concept, the Ruins. Enjoyed our quick visit here. Must experience when in Bratislava!

The space offers a restaurant serving a variety of dishes, an exhibition and concert area featuring regular performances by musicians from various genres, and an al-fresco bar on the upper deck with stunning views of the riverside landmarks.
Great experience. An old Ukrainina ship turned into metal/rock venue. The sound is near perfect. Very clean, smooth. Impeccable. The atmosphere also neat. Definitely recommended. I would love to go back again anytime soon.

This is a very cool performance venue showcasing musicians and programs almost every evening. There is a bistro onboard serving breakfast and all day menu until evening hours. There are stages on the bow and roof terrace so there can be more than one performance per evening. Stop by if you see a music genre to your liking!

Well.. The Bistro was fantastic..the food..the service.. Then the bars where awesome and nightclub on the top floor was epic.. Fun..good music and friendly people.. Its a must when in Budapest

This place is AWESOME! A floating bar and concert venue. Not only that, but it's a cosy place as well and offers a great quality experience. If ever in Budapest, check out what's going on here. Welcome aboard.

I had a great evening at Tetőterasz even though the weather wasn't super generous! Great house music on a Thursday afternoon into the sunset. Love this venue great to back after 13 years.
Zsófia C — Google review
Fantastic food and great people. Bit of a walk from the city center, however it’s well worth the walk, and after eating the food, walking back will definitely help you burn off a bit of what you just enjoyed. I was there for restaurant week and the offerings didn’t disappoint. The food looked and tasted too good for me to take pictures, but the main course of braised pork cheeks and roasted potatoes were a must try if they are on the menu when you go. The pickled radishes were unexpectedly delicious and will be adding that to my recipes when I get home. Try it out for yourself
Ernest I — Google review
I had two very negative experiences at this club. First, the band I came to see was 2 hours late – something I only found out after I had already entered. I wanted to step outside for some food and a walk along the river, but they told me if I left, I wouldn’t be allowed back in. After waiting two hours, I received a token without any explanation. When I ordered a drink, I was told I had to pay extra. Later I realized the token was probably for a smoker’s cup, but no one explained this to me. I asked for my money back, but instead I was given an extra cup. The bartender upstairs (the shorter woman with black hair) refused to help, and I was left with two cups I didn’t want. Staff speak very poor English and are not friendly toward foreigners. Overall, if you are not Hungarian, better go somewhere else.
Jacob B — Google review
We visited this establishment during the restaurant week. Although we reserved a table we were initially seated at a waiting table. After about 20 minutes we could finally go to our dedicated table and the food order was taken. The service staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, but all in all they were kind and helpful. The duck liver pate with brioche was abundant and tasty, the duck breast with polenta was also perfectly prepared. The pumpkin soup and the mouflon ragout soup were really rich and the main dish beef ragout with apple croquettes was delicious too. The only meal that did not taste and seem like fresh, was the catfish stew with noodles. After two courses we barely had any room left for the desert: pistachio cheesecake, so we asked for a takeaway bag.

A brilliant and truly unique venue. I arrived after the boat party around Budapest, and the journey from the boat to the venue was smooth and easy. The atmosphere didn’t miss a beat – lively, memorable, and well worth the visit. Drinks were on the pricier side unless you caught a deal, but the setting more than made up for it. Food was also available. Not rated 5* due to cost of drinks.

I’ve been there so many times 😅 It’s the best Thursday ever! Just go! Looking forward to the next time!!!
Sabrina V — Google review
Go there on Thursday and get unlimited drinks. Super fun experience and a great time if you go with a big group. Make sure you get in line extra early. Staff was definitely unfriendly but that was to be expected — they had to serve a lot of people very quickly.
Liam A — Google review
DONT GO!!! My friend got drugged and no staff members cared nor called ambulance. That night multiple others were completely nocked out. (We saw some laying in a corner or a girl being carried out by men) but we could not do anything about it. The women at the Garderobe even laught at me when I told her, the bar man just shrug his shoulders. The drink must have been spiked either by the bar man or by someone passing by because we watched the drinks carefully.

Big club and lots of rooms with lots of dance genres. Locals friendly. Bit of pain getting in and out but once your in its great. Smoking and vaping in the courtyard if that is your fancy. Not the cheapest but it's city centre. By you glass and refill for one fee up to late. Good late night out.

Worst experience ever. The staff, especially security, were very unfriendly. They grabbed us by the arm when we just wanted to leave. No one was friendly or listened to us; they immediately judged us and treated us badly. I've never felt so bad in a club before.

Doboz, a popular ruin pub in Budapest, was established in 2011 and is known for its unique blend of upscale ambiance and quirky decor. The venue features themed rooms with different music genres, including Latin pop and hip hop, along with regular appearances by in-house DJs. The courtyard boasts an impressive red cube and a massive King Kong statue hanging from an ancient tree.
The place is really cool, it is ideal for groups or solo individuals.. The drinks are varied and considered cheap, the staff is really kind that includes the security surprisingly! They have many indoor and outdoor stages for dancing 💃 😀 and also many bars and bartenders to serve you .. It is surrounded by ancient buildings, and there is this beautiful yard outside, with all these changing colors lights 😍 Most importantly, you have space to dance at the stages or place to set whenever you want, they took care of these details .. 3 Jin tonic cost 7700 huf (Mumbai) It is trule a nice club! 🩵🩵

We went here on a saturday evening, arrived at around 11 PM and there were some people but not as many as we expected. There are many options for cocktails and they're good but we had a hard time ordering. There were 8 of us and we ordered one by one and wanted to pay seperately which took a bit more time because the 2 ladies which were working on our orders got a bit confused. I ended up paying around 2700 HUF (7 EUR) by card for a mojito but the menu said the price was 2200 HUF (5.64 EUR). On the bright side, we got free shots because one lady gave us coupons in front of the entrance. I didn't really like the DJ's choice of music. There were some good songs at the beginning but later, right when people started to dance, he ended up playing some slower/sadder songs which went on for too long so it killed the mood on the dance floor. The decor is amazing, and the lighting is beautiful. I think it's busier in August or July (we went there in the middle of September).
Iva L — Google review
The worst experience I’ve ever had in a nightclub. We were a group of 12 people, all of legal age to enter, and one of the guys was unfairly accused by the security staff of having drugs on him, which was completely false! To make things worse, they made up an absurd story that he had already tried to enter earlier wearing different clothes — which was impossible, and we even showed photo evidence with timestamps proving it. From that moment, the security guards became extremely aggressive, threatened us with physical violence and pepper spray, and refused to listen to any explanation. I asked to speak with the manager and requested the complaint book, which took them over 30 minutes to bring. Even after I wrote the complaint, they kept threatening us, which is absolutely unacceptable. The situation escalated so badly that I had to call the police. They came to the location, took down the names of the security guards involved, and confirmed that was all they could do. A night completely ruined by an aggressive, arrogant, and totally unprofessional security team. I do not recommend Doboz to anyone. If you value respect and safety, stay away from this place.

The security guys are so arrogant and racist. I was inside and I left my airpods inside and wanted to go back to take them. It was an event before the party. Even tho I spoke with the guy in Hungarian he didn't let me in and his response was like your face is not good with a smirk on his face. I mean how arrogant and pathetic you can be. You work as a security for a club. Get a life dude.
Erfan M — Google review
Worst place ever. I had the worst experience with security and management in my life. When arriving to the door to go in, security just told me that I could not go in, without a reason. When I asked to speak to a manager, they threatened me with pepper gas and I had to call the police. Besides security team, I’ve been there in some parties before, and the workers at the bar are also very rude. The music is like a 2 or 3 out of 5. This was surely the last time I went there.

One of Budapest's most famous Ruin Bars. It has cleaner and more spacious areas compared to other bars. I think the staff are polite and more professional compared to similar bars. They could make better choices in terms of music.

Was looking for alternatives to Szimpla, saw this joint. Dragged all my mates here, dead empty at 10. At some point, 100 people rocked up and left 15 minutes later. Apparently, they buy 5 star reviews with shots of juice. Idk just go to a real bar and don't let your friends down like I did.

All the classic characteristics of the many ruin style bars around Budapest. Lots to look at and explore while enjoying a reasonably priced drink. Took a star off for although we were early for their busy party time but still after 9.00pm the music was playing very low and definitely would have created a better vibe had it been louder.

Romkert is a popular open-air club located near the Rudas Baths at the Buda end of Elizabeth Bridge in Budapest. It's known for its great music, fantastic location, and reasonably priced drinks, making it an ideal spot for a night out. The venue features a summer beer garden with an outdoor restaurant, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Many visitors praise the club for its lively Friday and Saturday nights, which are enhanced by the presence of amazing girls.
Very nice music! We got the big rooom thulum. Nice lounge and room and has private bathroom! People are very young on the lower floor but on tables floor it was good. I think for budapest its great but if you are used to party in other nice countries do not compare it!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Security denies a bunch of people entry on the basis on nonexistent rules that aren’t specified anywhere. Bunch of other reviews say this as well. Once we got to the entrance they said my friend couldn’t enter because she had sandals on. Mind you, we looked into the club and saw multiple girls with flip flops. We offered to go home to have her shoes changed so we could come back but they said they wouldn’t let us in even if she changed her shoes. I asked, “on the basis of what” and then they said I could not come in either (I had a ticket already and I was appropriately dressed). They were so rude and my friend began to cry. Manager was no help either. Other places I recommend to go to instead of this nightmare: Heaven, Otkert, the Blue Bird Karaoke Club (my favorite). Cant stress this enough: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. and we never got our money back :(

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE THE BOUNCERS ARE HORRIBLE. Wore expensive sandals all the way from the US and wasn’t let in because they said my shoes are flipflops. Next thing i know they are letting other girls in with worse quality sandals in. They didn’t even let me go change into sneakers. Don’t come here there are way nicer clubs all around the city.

I was very excited to attend this club as part of my few day stopover in Budapest. Unfortunately- this venue the service was distasteful and offensive. My group and I were waiting in line for over 30 minutes to see the bouncer allow over 20 people in front of us bypass the line. My friend inquired as to the reason and they would not give us a straight answer. They enforced facial recognition at the door and turn people of colour away. When asked for a reason no reason is provided and no manager ever came out to address the issue. The message was clear people of colour are not welcomed. Truly disappointed in this establishment and wish I didn’t waste my night in Budapest with them after visiting the country for the first time in 18 years.

I want in at the staff entrance by accident and wanted to use the bathroom . Instead of directing me to the right entrance and offering a seat, one of the members of staff literally kicked me out. Nobody thinks maybe a woman is pregnant and needs the bathroom. No courtesy, no helpfulness, typical Hungarian attitude. Shocking. I'll take my money elsewhere

Today's party was really above my expectations andI can say it's a standard, appreciate your effort to keep this place in the top 1 😁 More than five stars. Thank you guys! Really enjoyed. Keep up the good work.

Cool and intimate club with excellent visuals and clean sound. The basement room has a great atmosphere. It is all about the music here. If you prefer open spaces, it might feel a bit small, but the energy makes up for it ✨

Great little techno club with good sound and lights. When we went there it was straight forward techno with not much of bling bling around it... Some folks in there but no too crowded, so enough space to dance. Everyone respected others space, no gorillas around either. 5/5 recommend 🙂

Really nice techno club in a Budapest cellar. Very nice ambiente, really dark with good lightshow and great acts. Personal and bar was very nice. But please stop photographing in the club, i even dislike a filming crowd but when the organisers themselves start photographing everyone with big flash light it really kills the vibe

€11 entry not really worth it imo, techno is nothing special, drinks are reasonable enough however, only 1 room open when we were there

Bar
High Note SkyBar is a chic rooftop bar located at the renowned Aria Hotel, offering craft cocktails and small plates with stunning city views and a piano lounge. Unlike other spots, it remains open year-round regardless of weather conditions, boasting a spacious interior area for vaccinated guests. The bar provides a fancy yet relaxed atmosphere and hosts evening programs with music and parties. Situated next to the famous St.
The bar is on the roof of the building, but there is a hostess at the entrance to the building. We arrived without a reservation, so there was only room in the indoor part, a bit of a shame not to see the view, but it was still nice. Good variety of cocktails, quite expensive prices. Very polite waiter service. Good music. We had a great time.

Booked for drinks on roof top terrace. As soon as you walk into this restaurant you are presented with stunning surroundings. Theres a piano and someone singing. Next time will definitely be booking for dinner. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Drinks were really good. Definitely worth a trip but would make a reservation.

One of my highlights in my Budapest solo trip. Went here for sunset Oct 9th. The rooftop, ambiance, service are amazing. The hostess that seated me was so kind and also my female server ✨. I was visiting the Basilica and stumbled on this gem 🥹❤️ Appreciate your warm hospitality!!! I had an unfortunate mishap at the train station arriving from Vienna (lost my wallet, cash, cards), but coming here made my day and appreciate I am safe, I am lucky to be here in Budapest. Aria hotel had the best views and centrally located. The lobby was aesthetically beautiful with piano keys and someone was playing the grand piano. Such a beautiful place and will definitely come back with my family. Much love! Thank you Highnotes Skybar team 🫶🏻

Beautiful venue, indoor and outdoor seating on top of a very nice hotel. Our experience for the food and service was very poor for the price. There was one server for almost all of the tables on a very busy weekend and asking for something took forever. I ordered the duck with side salad and waited almost 45 minutes for dressing while my duck went cold. Someone came to apologize and offer drinks for the issue and then we were charged for everything. I would only recommend coming here for a drink and the beautiful views.
Masha C — Google review
Probably the best place to be if you’re looking for bad service. There was one sweet and sympathetic girl, but aside from her, the manager and the men in suits were arrogant and dismissive. The drinks are overpriced, with both the quantity and quality far below what you pay for. When I complained about this, the manager shrugged and said: “That’s what we do here. If you don’t like it, we cannot do anything.” Yes, the view is nice, and everything looks clean, but strangely there were more staff members walking around than actual guests sitting at tables. That should already tell you something. When I tried to pay with American Express, I was told “nobody in Budapest accepts AMEX.” That’s ridiculous—we had used AMEX everywhere else in the city, from small restaurants cafe kor, New York Cafe, or four seasons, or to buying the Budapest Card on the streets. If you’re going to lie, at least know your facts. On top of that, when we left, they even argued with us, saying “people who spend €400 here don’t complain.” Well, we didn’t complain at Hotel New York either—because there the service, food, and quality actually matched the price. This place? Probably the very last spot in Budapest you’d want to waste your money on.

This was by far the best way to round out my day in Budapest. I was instantly greeted by friendly and genuine smiles from EVERY worker and their cocktails are just mind blowing. Don’t shy away from their recommendations! They’re so flavorful and unique and paired so perfectly with the view from the roof. Worth a visit and every penny! Thank you for the great service!

BOB is a small bar located near the Basilica with great views of Buda, attracting both young and middle-aged crowds. Visitors enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and amazing music played by talented DJs, featuring Afrobeats, mainstream hits, RnB, and Hip Hop mixes. However, some find the drinks to be overpriced as the night progresses. It's recommended to arrive between midnight to 1 am to avoid overcrowding.
This place used to be some of the classiest place to go out with great value; great drinks and classy people. More suited for the 25-35, so not for younger people. The vibe and music here is always amazing! One of my favorite places to visit every time I come to Budapest!

Iconic bar/club of the fancy city center. Not too big, average prices for the area, good cocktails, good music for the Shangri-La experience.

Long day of sightseeing in Budapest and on way back to hotel decided to have a pit stop for a quick drink. Was mid afternoon and relatively quiet. Positive was really near Chain Bridge and air conditioning was wonderful, eventhough was was relatively open onto the street. Good choice of drinks and prices what you would expect near centre of Budapest and near attractions. Didn't rate food as its a bar/pub. Music was great! Found myself moving along to to the beats, to the dismay of my wife :)
Raj N — Google review
We got recommendation to go there. It’s typical bar focused on tourists, but that was ok. Our experience was good until until a waiter came and asked how we would like to pay just out of the blue. He wasn’t able to properly answer my question why. Because we didn’t order enough of drinks? Because we weren’t girls in their twenties? I just don’t know, but this is beyond any “unwritten rules” of a good customer service. Just don’t go there. There are ton of places in Budapest that actually value their customers. This isn’t worth it.

Local extremely unfriendly and racist place with a funny mix of world music old hits and Hungarian pop. Expensive for what it offers. The club offers a unique experience with its funky area under a glass-bottomed pool, where visitors can enjoy traditional and Hungarian favorite drinks.
Drinks are always good, vibe on top and I ate there time ago and it was amazing. I am not sure if it’s still the same but I’m going to guess yes! There is a good variety of drinks and is even funnier when they have the happy hour as instead of one you get two drinks, so if you’re going with friends and want to make an even number is perfect😊

Great place to meet up with friends as it is centrally located. Nice music playing that's not too loud so you can still have conversations. It's💲pricey for drinks 🍷 , I would suggest beer as the cheapest option. There are plenty of bars within a ten minute walk where I am sure you can get better deals on drinks.

Great atmosphere. Good music. Like a cruise ship vibe in the middle of Budapest
William B — Google review
Can't say anything about the food, since I was there for a concert. It was a post hardcore show and the venu was not that cool about it tbh. They didn't let people stagedive even though the band was all for it, and I mean it is a hardcore gig so of course there will be some heavier moshing/stage diving and if they don't want it then they shouldn't have such bands. Beer was good though

Dürer Kert is a vibrant music venue and nightclub in Budapest that offers a diverse range of music genres including rock, indie, and electronic. Following its relocation to south Buda near Lagymanyos Bay, the venue boasts a spacious garden with hammocks, petanque, and an abundance of tables. The riverside location provides a picturesque setting for visitors to relax in bean bags or engage in friendly games like ping-pong. Additionally, equipment for outdoor cooking is available for rent.
Definitely a dope place to chill, there are some good events happening every week or so. With a good group of friends this place is definitely underrated and can have a lot of fun with a beautiful view around you

Dürer Kert is one of the music venues and night club for rock, indie and electronic music in Budapest especially live performances. It has a big hall and big scene and also second hall. There are really famous local groups performing. Since 2021 their new place is huge and There is a bar, you can buy ticket online and on the premises. Only not-well-planned part is cloak room, at winter, there is a long queue to give and take away your belongings. It has a spacious garden looking at Danube with hammocks, to play table ball, petanque and to grill or cook in cauldron (to cook gulyas leves : ) and required material even fuel is provided by Durer Kert personnel) It has a huge car park with Wheelchair-accessible car park. Wheelchair-accessible entrance, toilet and seating is available. You can go there by bus as well, 133 is the closest one. The venue is a little far to the city center and not easy to reach. But by car, they have a huge car park as I said. You can buy ticket online from their website or queue before the concert, but recommend to go there in advance and chill at the place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly great spot for live music and laid-back summer evenings! We went to a small weekday concert by the Platon Karataev Duo, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The garden is beautifully lit after dark, creating a very pleasant vibe. There were four open drink stations, so no long lines, and the prices were fair. Another big plus: Dürer Kert is right by the Danube, just walk down the steps and you’re at the water. All in all, highly recommended; we’ll gladly come back!

We were hoping to have a fun night out with good music and lots of dancing but were quite disappointed. We went on a Saturday around midnight and had purchased tickets for 3200 HUF which isn’t bad but we expected more. In my opinion, they played the most mainstream music and played each song for way too long that it got boring after 2-3 refrains. Also just one dance floor ☹️ We left a little before 2am

Pontoon has an amazing location with both upstairs and downstairs outdoor seating—perfect for soaking in the Budapest vibes. It might feel a bit like a tourist trap at first glance, but honestly, it’s well worth a visit. I had a tequila soda with lime—simple but really well made. You do have to give a deposit for the cup, but that’s pretty standard in the area and didn’t bother me. Chilled atmosphere, good drinks, and a killer view. Great for a relaxed drink by the water!

The artist was free styling her lyrics & the band was really great 👍.....set the vibe! The bartender spoke good English & was really nice. J V — Google review
Pontoon is one of those places you visit as much for the atmosphere as for the drinks. Located right next to the Chain Bridge, with a perfect view of the iconic lions and the Danube, it offers one of the most scenic hangouts in the city. Live concerts are a regular feature and bring a vibrant energy to the place, especially in the evenings. That said, it’s often packed, so finding a seat can be tricky. Drinks are average in both quality and price — standard for Budapest — but it’s really the location and vibe that make Pontoon worth a visit. Bonus: tourist buses often stop nearby, as there’s a parking lot close to the entrance — it’s not uncommon to see surprised visitors stepping off and wondering where they’ve just arrived.
Melinda E — Google review
Due to festivities and some issues before, having everything with fences right next to the river and around the place is a bit disappointing, but it’s understandable knowing the background for it as it was not their intention. Live music on the day was pretty good and the vibe was nice, everyone had a nice time and you could see how everyone enjoyed the time. Hopefully next summer is going to be possible to have a nice sunset without fences in front of you!

Budapest Park is a sprawling event space known for hosting major outdoor concerts, DJ sets, and massive parties. It is the largest open-air music venue in Budapest and all of Europe, offering festival-size concerts and performances from various art genres. Located near the Hungarian National Theatre and the Palace of Arts, it spans over 11,000 square meters and features a tropical jungle-themed party venue, retro garden, VIP lodges, food trucks, bars, and its own KFC.
Budapest is the most wonderful place to visit, from Buda Castle on the hill, to all the shops, restaurants and markets in Pest
Dave Q — Google review
Budapest Park is a fantastic venue—I mostly go there for concerts. The sound system and lighting are top-notch, and service is fast. It’s worth arriving early, though: the mixing booth island partially blocks the view of the stage. If you end up behind it, you’ll have to watch the performance on the screens. For the trip back to Boráros tér, I recommend taking the buses—they’re usually almost empty, while tram 2 is always packed and runs less frequently.
Tamás M — Google review
The venue offers outdoor shows and concerts with a party of a wide variety of choices after the shows. Easy access by public transport, the sound is good and the entrance is secure (it is advisable to arrive with an ID). However, in all the cases where I was there, the place was very busy and it seemed that too many people were allowed in, there is no way you can dance or stand and people will simply bump into you just to move on. The bar is relatively expensive (beer costs 1890 forints + 500 for a reusable glass). Recommended but needs improvement
Ever A — Google review
Budapest Park is absolutely crazy — more like a full-on festival than a concert venue 🎶🔥. Huge outdoor space, epic lights, food trucks, bars, and non-stop party vibes. The staff are great, the crowd is wild, and every show feels like an unforgettable night out. Drinks aren’t cheap, but the energy makes it 100% worth it. A must-visit if you want to experience Budapest nightlife at its biggest and boldest!
Nawras A — Google review
First time there and I had a really good time. There was enough bathrooms to prevent long queues and quite neat. I loved the atmosphere and the fact that I could enjoy myself and be free.

Never knew the place had restaurants and plenty of bars otherwise we'd have turned up early for the gig we went to! What a place. Don't make the same mistake I did though, and go to the Budapest city park, thinking it's Budapest park 🤦🏼‍♂️

Unique place worth visiting! Aurora was great (as always). VIP entries are not worth buying, because the view and capacity on balconies is worse than on the ground.

Élesztő, also known as Yeast, is a unique and trendy venue located in a former glassworks building. This post-industrial space offers a wide range of experiences, from the largest selection of Hungarian artisan beers on tap to beer-tasting and brewing classes. Additionally, visitors can enjoy delicious and affordable pub fare, hot chocolate and cakes at the cozy café, or refreshing drinks at the health food juice bar.
Very good craft beers, including sour and IPAs. Very reasonable prices (~1750 ft avg. for an IPA). Friendly service, industrial decor. Nice atmosphere, no music on the patio probably due to the neighbors. Very good choice if you like craft beer, didn’t try the food.
C S — Google review
Brewery vibe, tried 2 different IPAs but nothing really beats exceptional. Bench-style seats not very comfortable if you planning an evening drinking. Staff were ok. Food was good.
Rabii K — Google review
Bit of a find although have been here in a previous life! It’s a beer gastropub as well as serving smoked meats. You sit in a covered yard and you have a couple of bars and food counters dotted around you. Can be a bit pricey for what it is but on the whole food is okay, you pay for mayonnaise, no sauces no mustard no ketchup. They did bring the food to the table and it was quite quick service but then again it wasn’t that busy. Can you imagine this being a really nice place when there’s a busy crowd here?
Simon B — Google review
Very nice atmospheric place, good beer, big selection of beers. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes for 2 beers even though there was just few people in front of us… The bartender was very very slow and inexperienced.
John C — Google review
Great food, really good beers, awesome place . What do you need more?
Barkó A — Google review
Great find. I wasn't sure what I signed up for walking through a more residential area and then you turn into the corridor and can't help but smile. It's perfect! They have 2 bars, we were shown our reserved table (highly recommend) and went up to order the beers. Nice guys, switched to English with ease. Food was from a different counter and delicious. We had a great evening at this brewery.
Joanna — Google review
Always great variety of beers on tap, bottled alcohol free beer available too. Food options are not many but the food is delicious and served quickly. It gets a bit hot inside in winter and it is good to book table if you come Friday-Saturday evenings.
Elena K — Google review
Excellent spot that separates the bars to reduce waiting time. The craft beer bar has a varied selection with voodoo being my particular favourite. The spirits bar opposite mixed up a superb G&T. The place was packed with people imbibing and laughing. I like the minimalist style too.

Nestled in a vibrant garden courtyard, Ellátó is the ultimate live music venue that captures the essence of Budapest's nightlife. This ruin bar-inspired pub welcomes guests every night, making it a popular hangout for young international travelers thanks to its prime location near Gozsdu Court and The Hive Party Hostel. With an eclectic lineup of tribute concerts and lively parties, Ellátó transforms into a pulsating dance floor where freedom reigns supreme.
I visited many years ago and had a great experience. Ellato Has is an honest place with decent prices, good atmosphere and occasionally live music. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area.
Gypsy F — Google review
We went in on a Saturday night, it was quiet and we bought a lot of drinks, local customers were racist straight away, they seemed to know the staff well. One of the staff that were playing music made racist comments to one of our group in the toilets. Another customer made racist comments to us at the bar and were behaving aggressive towards us and told us “We are not welcome here and we need to leave” and swearing about the different countries they thought we were from and trying to barge us, in front of the bar staff. Despite this we stayed and finished our drinks. I would never recommend anyone go here not worth the rudeness and aggressive behaviour.

It's called Kazimir now. It's one of the best pubs in the VII district with the real Budapest vibe and atmosphere. Ask for Pinky...
Frank T — Google review
ELLÁTÓház is a great bar. The decoration is urban added with lot of plants and flowers hanging. Prices are not too expensive but be careful, to date, cash only is accepted (a bit silly considering how paypass is practical in a bar). At ELLÁTÓház concerts are regularly planned for an entrance fee under 10€. Lot of time it is gonna be some cover band (Beatles, radiohead , queen...) which makes up to a great crowd of enthusiastic customers. The age is generally above the average in this part of the city during the concert mainly due to the style of music played. Also during concert the crowd is mostly locals. When concert is over it goes back to a more classical bar with music and the young party crowd.

A great place for all folks with basically any taste in music. There are great events happening every night you can surely find your jam here. There is a nice mix of tourists and locals you can find plenty of interesting people at the club. Prices are reasonable even though the place is in the centre. This place will make you want to return time and time again.

The night club Peaches and Cream Club is popular in Budapest for its excellent experiences. The staff are friendly and contribute a lot to the great times that guests can secure during their visits. The nightclub offers a selection of music styles with a Budapest twist, making it unique among night clubs in the city. If you enjoy funk and soul music, I would recommend you check out Peaches and Cream Club.
Great club, good music. We had a pre booked table off the dance floor. Owner walked us in, great service Would definitely come back again Music was exceptional

Paid VIP tickets for New Years Eve party- absolutely not worth it! The club is tiny and normal tickets should have been just fine. Don’t overspend. Tequila was cheap quality as well.
Arshdeep K — Google review
The pictures on the site are incredible, but they will not tell you the true story. It's a club where local foreign working people go out. They seem to know eachother, and you, as a tourist will not feel welcome there. So, it's not a place for tourists at all. Not even for the local hungarian People.
Dan V — Google review
I actively had to live journal my experience in this place when I visited there last Saturday, because it was absolutely mental: This place appears like an AI generated experiment, almost like it’s the latest VR release of the Sims. None of the music seems to be licensed past 2005. They sandwiched a known song from 2005 in between five different Turkish style songs that I have never heard of. But regardless everyone else knows the lyrics to every song. It’s always the same level of busyness. The dance floor was never emptier or more packed than when we first arrived, perfect equilibrium at all times. I genuinely believe we are part of a 2025 remake of the Truman Show. Like if you put your hand up to tell them to knock it off, you would win a prize as being the first person to ever discover this was a televised social experiment. It feels like MR Beast is waiting for me to tap out. However, it feels like if I don’t dance and play along with the joke then they will ship me off to the Gulag to repent for my misbehaviour with eternal forced labour. This is one of those places with video DJs but they genuinely don’t seem to have got any licensing past 2005. The music videos for the Turkish sounding songs looked like they were shot in one take and all filmed in the same dimly lit hotel room. We have been there an hour and they have already played three songs from 50 Cent’s breakout album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. I have not listened to any of those songs within the same two hour period since 2004. They brought an older bloke on stage to sing what I think is happy birthday in Turkish. He would often look over and stare us directly in the eyes, it was very disconcerting The bartender had several buttons undone up to his nipple line, but then all buttons from there up fully fastened. A second singer appeared who looked like a fat bald man but had the voice of a young Mariah Carey. It turns out he was a 12 year old eunuch. This is genuinely a prepubescent boy singing people’s song requests. The old man and the young child who are both singing seem like a package duo. Like he has been grooming this child to sing in this club since he could talk. There’s a guy walking around the club who looks like a Jimmy Saville impersonator. In the interlude from this random karaoke, a group of Spanish tourists started singing Volare by Bobby Rydell whenever there was a gap in the official music. There's a very pale ginger man who keeps walking around like he’s been trapped in this place for years, like Tom Hanks in The Terminal. The DJ is called DJ Fenton, yes, like the viral video. Fennnnnntoooooooooooooonnnnnn. This is like I travelled back to the past and witnessed cavemen making fire for the first time. The duo are back and the only thing I can liken them to is the Hungarian Chas and Dave. It feels like we stumbled into the Hungarian Mafia’s birthday party for a deceased relative who loved R&B but unexpectedly passed away in 2004. The last actual song by an artist they played tonight was Wild Thoughts by Rihanna, which was simultaneously the most recently released song (2017) and probably the most money they paid the whole night for music licensing. I swear someone just threw a drink towards me but missed by two metres, and only splattered me on the leg. I feel like this is some very niche subculture I have stumbled across, like discovering one of the uncontactable Amazon tribes that we try to protect from deforestation in Brazil. Someone was wearing a branded Unicum polo shirt and he didn’t work there. The bathroom also suspiciously smells like chlorine, as if Bill Cosby was using it as his local pickup spot. But i'm starting to think it wasn't a coincidence I thought I saw Jimmy Saville earlier. At one point it looked like the bouncer who let me in had taken over as the DJ. This whole experience feels like a fever dream. They have a Tripadvisor travelers choice award pinned around the entrance but framed like they had won the award consecutive years in a row. They hadn’t. All in all an amazing experience.

Terrible experience. If you are Foreigner, please DONT GO!, AND IM ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE ESSENTIAL, THE ENTRY FEE, I DONT WANNA KNOW ABOUT MORE. I’ve traveling around the world, and it is the first time that Im feeling Scammed. They charged me more just because I’m a foreigner — completely unfair and dishonest. It’s clear they take advantage of tourists. I don’t recommend this place if you’re a foreigner. There are way better spots in Budapest where you’ll be treated with respect. Watch out for the prices.
Jordan F — Google review
False advertising. They put that it’s an rnb club and that they play American music but they were playing Turkish music the whole time lol. Not a bad club but don’t say you play a certain kind of music to attract a certain crowd if you don’t.

I don’t really understand how this club can have so good review score but ok. Music was ok. Staff was nice. BUT thats it. It was so hot inside, a LOT of very weird and shady people and "kids". No class...

Awesome place with music but sound system is not so good compared to other club in Budapest. Staff are very good and they are open till late night or morning 😉. Price of Drinks are okay according to their standard. Very good security and staffs are really kind but be aware of bouncer they are super active and fast. Everything is awesome and I give 4 star only because of sound systems which can be better. I will recommend international students to visit them once because they have special night on Thursday only for international students in Town. Overall it’s very good club.

Went to many clubs but the bouncers and staff were genuinely the most unfriendly and rude people I’ve met. They were personally insulting me, teasing me and talking pretty badly about me in Hungarian to each other thinking I don’t understand them since I was a foreigner. Nestled in the heart of Budapest's District VIII, Zsír (Fővárosi Kulipintyó) has evolved from a typical local watering hole into a vibrant cultural hotspot since its transformation in 2022. This unique cellar bar retains its old-school charm while embracing an eclectic mix of live music, particularly Hungarian folk performances that draw enthusiastic crowds on Wednesdays and Fridays.
What a nice local place. Bohemian atmosphere. Affordable. There was a live concert/jam session going on when I visited on Sunday evening. Local musicians. Bookmarked 👌

This place has a very friendly staff and surprisingly great selection of beers, there's even option for gluten free beer! (considering the bad reputation of the 8th district), especially if you're a fan of sour beers. There's only 2 kind of beers on tap, all others are 330ml's. It looks cool inside and there's seating area outside ő the street. I visited in the day time, there was cool drum and base music on. I'll be happily back!

I came to put review , found that i reviewed this place a year ago, wanted to re add this is one of the best local bard you will find . Either local, Hungarian, or Tourist, this is the place to meet amazing people. Not to mention this place is one of the only being run by group of artists (guided but not managed by KJ) he made a true collaborative and socialist method that everyone there feels like an owner, everyone works their from their heart to make every evening a special evening with special type of music that would fit all tastes. PS: if you want to be nice to them , please do not make so much loud noise on the street/smoking side due to some old lovely neighbor who would love to rest by the late night, everything else is ok and possible :) My last year review: Amazing local bar with lovely and welcoming team. Amazing place for having a drink after long working day. good outdoor space and tables for spring/summer times overall great place to check

(Translated by Google) The behavior of the security guards inside is very outrageous. We were there yesterday, with about 5 other people besides us. My friend, who drank 2 spritzes in the evening, (because he was playing music, so he didn't go to the bar) stumbled next to the DJ desk and was picked up by 2 security guards and kicked out of the place I emphasize that there were 5 people in the place, 3 of them DJs... Of course, the security guard outside didn't understand the situation either, and they let him back in. We will definitely never go there again. I’ve visited Doblo Wine Bar twice and both times had a great experience. Although I haven’t tried the food yet, I can highly recommend the wine selection – it’s extensive, thoughtfully curated, and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and they helped me choose the right wine based on my preferences. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming, slightly rustic interior that adds to the overall vibe. On both visits, there was live music, which created a relaxed and enjoyable ambiance without being too loud or intrusive. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a cozy place to unwind in the evening, Doblo is definitely worth a visit. I’ll gladly return!

Ok. It’s a very nice wine bar. But. We wanted a couple of glasses of red wine. And we got the hard sell from the waitress. So. Ended up with two ridiculously priced glasses of quite average red. What a fantastic experience! Great location, amazing views of Budapest, the venue is chic and trendy, the food is fresh and tasty, but you will come back for the cocktails!! The drinks are worth the visit, with a special mention for our mixologist Laszlo! The only issue we had was that when asked to pay in cash (Euro), and then we overheard the waitress telling another customer that she didn't recommend paying cash in Euro because you will end up spending more than usual but she never mentioned it to us.Not recommend to pay in Euro. Overall very nice and beautiful. Recommend to visit it.

The food was pretty decent. But the portion sizes were astronomical for Budapest. Our waiter was top notch and attentive. The drinks were okay but were crazy expensive for what was provided. I think you are paying more for the name and location rather than the food and drinks provided. The price just does not match up. The brownie was good. Rich for sure.

A nice place to take in the views of Budapest! We made a reservation via Opentable for the afternoon and the tables were full but not overcrowded. We enjoyed some non-alcoholic beverages and a few appetizers while enjoying the bright sun and perfect location. The tartare was not something I would order again, but the hummus was outstanding.

We visited Leo from Florida on our very first day in Budapest, and it was the perfect introduction to this beautiful city. The view was absolutely stunning, the atmosphere was relaxed yet classy, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to our server Theo, for his kindness and outstanding service, he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We’d also like to give special thanks to the lovely curly black haired lady who hosted us and managed to fit us in even in rush hours without reservations. Their professionalism and warm hospitality really stood out and made our evening even more enjoyable. Budapest has completely captured our hearts, and this rooftop was the highlight of our first night. We’ll definitely be visiting again before we leave, highly recommended! :)

In general, a very nice rooftop bar/restaurant. The food was very nice however the portions were very small. We ordered the fillet mignon and the mini cheeseburgers. To be fair, you rarely find these prices for this type of food in other places but Budapest is in general relatively cheap. The cheesecake was extremely good and the cocktails are also very good. However, we had some problems with the table we were seated at, since we were in a far corner and couldn’t really see the view which ruined the mood a bit and makes it feel like it’s not really worth it. However at the end of our dinner we were moved to a better spot which sort of made up for that. So make sure to book in advance and ask for a good table since space is limited. In general, a very nice place for dinner and drinks but again, portions are a bit small.
Sneak F — Google review
If you are looking for a place with a nice view then this is your place. Nice ambience, music and comfortable seating. Nice service. If you are a claustrophobic person you might find the elevator a little bit challenging since it’s very small and with no air conditioning.

Rooftop with amazing views to chain bridge! They even have two terraces, the smaller side is looking to the Parliament! I had the Caesar salad with shrimp, delicious food with home made bread, lemonades & nice cocktails! Design of the place and the menu is fascinating! They have like in the US service fee included! The entrance is not through Hotel Clark, but from the side! Reservation recommended as the place is not too big!

Kadarka Wine Bar, located in Budapest's Jewish Quarter, is a popular spot offering over a hundred varieties of well-known Hungarian wines from the country's 22 wine regions. Despite its location in a tourist-heavy area, Kadarka remains a local favorite and attracts mainly Hungarian wine enthusiasts. The bar's cozy atmosphere and knowledgeable staff make for an intimate and memorable wine-tasting experience.
A lovely experience drinking wine and having some snacks here. Zoltan was a fantastic waiter and recommended really good wines to us. He also helped me choose the right palinka to taste. The snacks were tasty too. Would love to come back here again to try more of the wines.

Very nice and uncomplicated wine bar. You specify your wish/taste, they come with a bottle/suggestion, you taste, you decide or start the process all over again. Untill you like it. Good food as well and very friendly staff.

Short tempered staff and poor service - DO NOT RECOMMEND We arrived at 5pm in perfect to source some local Hungarian wine. Despite there only being five people in the entire venue the staff told us we had one hour to drink and then leave because they were “fully booked”. Our bottle of wine (good selection available but not guidance provided) was delivered to us and then we were promptly ignored. The staff placed other walk-ins at the unreserved bar area (no time restriction). In the end, we were handed the bill and FORCED to pay a 15% service charge for the privilege of being there.
Michelle M — Google review
Ok Bernadette is the star of the bar. A wine suggestion just made me to be more haooy and more interested to the the wines athag are rare and unique. Couldn’t be more happy for the suggestion that she made. I can’t wait for be back. Keep on going girl 🔥🔥🔥

I went there with my girlfriend to try some Hungarian wines. The price had increased recently but the price/quality ratio and the food were still quite good compared to other local places in Budapest. We decided to come back again the next day and it was even better. One of the server (probably the owner), was very knowledgeable, generous and eager to make us try and discover local wines. He adapted his recommendations too our tastes and envies, along the dinner. We will miss this place and its passionate server!
Gontier X — Google review
I've been visiting Kadarka with both local and foreign friends and always had a vedy positive experience. The staff is really friendly and ready to provode advice on the extensive wine list should someone have only a basic knowledge of wines or only a faint idea of what to taste. The atmoshpere fits that of a wine bar: a bit exquisite but not extravagant, somewhat more than a bar, but you will not feel uneasy. We also tasted their cuisine a couple of times and found it really tasty - optionally coupled with fine Hungarian wines. I warmly recommend both for a quick tasting or a night-long immersion into something Hungarian.
Tamás C — Google review
This is by far my favorite wine bar in Budapest. They serve top quality Hungarian wines from small producers, the stuff you’ll never find in supermarkets. They have on the magnitude of a hundred different wines available by the glass and they have super knowledgeable staff to help you pick. Much of their wait staff has been there for years. Their food selection is basic but it’s enough and you’re there for the wine, anyway.
Balazs K — Google review
Kadarka, once a trendy newcomer in Budapest’s bustling Király utca, has impressively retained its charm and appeal over the years. Revisiting it now, it feels as though time has stood still in the best way possible. The standout feature remains its exceptionally wide selection of wines, offered at reasonable prices that are more affordable than many other trendy spots in the city. The food is simple yet satisfying, complementing the wine perfectly without overshadowing it. The lively atmosphere is a testament to its enduring popularity—the place was packed, which speaks volumes about its quality and consistency. The service was great, with attentive and kind staff ensuring a pleasant experience. The only drawback was the presence of some plastic bar tables, which felt a bit out of place in an otherwise inviting setting. Overall, Kadarka is a great choice for wine lovers seeking a laid-back yet vibrant spot in Budapest. Its consistency, affordability, and welcoming vibe make it a true gem that continues to stand the test of time.

So the bar upstairs was nice with ok cocktails and good service but then I went downstairs where Diego and he’s helper made some creative and great cocktails and that’s way I’m willing to give 5 stars for this place my recommendation go straight down and try the experimental menus

The cocktails were nice. The prices were more high end. The staff were nice, but it did feel like the humor was more at our expense. The water was free and refilled with is a huge plus!

Friendly staff, cool ambience, really good drinks! We visited this bar twice on our 3 day stay. While the drinks weren’t overly showy or wildly creative, they were very good. We liked that they served local spirits and the popcorn was a cute touch!

My experience here was simply stellar. The bar has this cozy, speakeasy vibe, and the bartenders were truly impressive. Each cocktail felt like a crafted work of art. They use creative ingredients with theatrical presentation and unique glassware. Service was warm and attentive, and that little bag of salted popcorn was the perfect companion to our drinks. Definitely one of the best cocktail bars I've ever visited.

Absolutely amazing experience. Cozy bar with great music. Bartenders are very qualified and handsome. They came to us to talk about the drinks option if you don't want anything from menu they will craft you something based on your likes. That's how I got one of the best drinks in my life. From entering till the end we felt amazing. Hopefully in the future we will come back not as a students with tight budget so we can stay for more drinks. Totally amazing in Poland we have never found experience like this. Thank you for that!

Becketts Irish Bar & Restaurant is a well-established and popular Irish pub in Budapest, known for its long history and warm atmosphere. Originally opened in 1994, it has been a favorite spot for locals, expats, and tourists to enjoy GAA football, rugby, hurling, and more. After relocating in 2015 to a new location off Andrassy ut, the pub maintained its authentic Irish charm with tricolour flag bunting outside and Guinness adorned awnings.
Great little Irish bar that fills up fast! A friend recommended I stop in for a bite, and I’m so glad I did. The food was fantastic—I tried shepherd’s pie for the first time, and let me tell you, the meat in this thing was absolutely loaded. The waitress was hustling nonstop, making sure everyone had a great experience. All around, an awesome time!

Csendes Létterem - Vintage Bar & Café is a unique and surreal place located on Ferenczy Istvan utca near Astoria. Once the Fiume Kavehaz, a literary cafe dating back to 1883, it now exudes a bohemian atmosphere with vintage knickknacks, century-old chandeliers, and retro lampshades.
It was quiet busy even at late monday night. But we were seated as soon as we arrived. Unfortunately I could not get baileys hot chocolate because they turned off the coffee machine but somehow the other table had tea surprisingly. Anyway the atmosphere is admirable and very unique. We ordered beer and wine and the waiting time was reasonable. And the prices were ok for budapest

A spacious bar with a lovely atmosphere that’s genuinely enjoyable to spend time in. The young waitress who served us was very polite and attentive. She helped us choose our drinks, especially with the fröccs, and we tried several cocktails — most of which we really liked. The only downside was the slow service, but it was clear that the number of staff wasn’t enough for how busy the place was, so I don’t blame the employees for that. The management definitely needs to address this.

The place an unique atmosphear. You can come here alone to enjoy a moment of reflection holding a drink, with friends -which would be the most fun option- , or to work in case you are a bit of a nomad, like me. This is one of my favorites places in this part of the city. It is close to Calvin Ter and Astoria. You cannot miss visiting this place!

This café/ruin bar has an incredible atmosphere—eclectic, vintage décor and a welcoming vibe that make it a memorable spot. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the charm. That said, the drinks can be hit-or-miss when it comes to taste, which can take away from an otherwise fantastic experience. Worth visiting for the ambiance alone.

We stayed there for an hour or so to have gin tonic and whiskey shot which cost us around 4500 HUF. The staff are so friendly and respectful can speak English. The place is cosy pub with lots of small things to watch. We satisfied from the service and like the place.

A ruin bar we actually enjoyed! We are middle aged now and found the ones down in the Jewish quarter a little rowdy for our liking. We stumbled on this place just before going home and finally understood the charm of the ruin bars. Can highly recommend a visit here.
Victoria G — Google review
We stumbled upon this hidden gem with our family from Bratislava, while visiting Budapest for seven nights. This ruin bar was without a doubt the best bar we came across during our three-week vacation to Krakow and Budapest. The best part of this bar and what really makes it stand out was the bar’s atmosphere, and all the amazing items, which decorate and adorn the entire bar, from top to bottom along the walls. It is like being transported to a different time and era; we loved it. The staff were very friendly and quick to take care of our orders, both drink and food. To be honest, the food was not the best, but the atmosphere made up for it. This was truly a haven to sit back, sip, enjoy the company and savor the essence of Budapest and let the cares of the world fade away.

Café Jedermann, located on the bustling restaurant street of Pest, was founded in 2010 by Hans van Vliet, a well-known figure in the Budapest scene. By day, it's a popular spot for local university students, while at night it transforms into a prominent dinner-and-show venue. The café hosts a variety of musical performances including string quartets, swing ensembles, jazz and funk concerts.
Lovely jazz club not far from Budapest downtown. Live music, delicious kitchen, warm atmosphere and kind staff. Reservation needed for table because it’s usually full house. Recommended place for music and jazz lovers.

Café Jedermann is hands down my favorite spot in Budapest. we went a few times, sometimes just for a beer, other times for a bite, and every visit was a great experience. the atmosphere is effortlessly cool and cozy, with music that always matched our taste. The soups are seriously good and incredibly cheap...a perfect match for the low beer prices. and if you’re into Jazz, this place is a must. we were lucky enough to catch a concert by the amazing Bálint Gyémánt Trio, and it was unforgettable. *If you want to see one of their two weekend shows, definitely book at least a week in advance - tickets go fast* Even when the place was full, the staff was super nice and really attentive. there were usually only two waitresses and one bartender, but they always managed to keep things running smoothly, never making us wait too long. Really, really good staff. Even if you can’t get a spot for a concert, it’s worth coming here on any other night just to soak in the vibe. I know I’ll be back, and if you’re in Budapest, I can’t recommend it enough...

We are returning customers from England. The Beer Point has become one of our favourite places for a drink. The food is also delicious. The place is spacious and offers good quality food and drinks. However, I have to rate the service—specifically the bartender on 10.05.2025—as poor because when we ordered our drinks, she was on her personal phone. Although she answered our questions, it didn’t feel like we received 100 percent customer care.

We stopped to get a quick bit to go as this establishment was right next to where we stayed. Very reasonable prices to start, food was excellent! The bartender was great. He absolutely went over and above to make sure we were take care of. Great food, great service, great prices. Will certainly be here agin before we leave!!
Dennis B — Google review
At least the service was nice, and the place was clean. Our beers were a bit underpoured (see pic). I'm sure the bartender would've fixed it if we pointed it out, but we weren't too fussed - it should have a bit more attention paid to it, though. Food was awful. Burger meat was generally just not good. Come to think of it, it also wasn't a "smashed burger" as advertised either. Pastrami sandwich is waaaay overpriced (see the pic - it was 4.000 HUF), and also the bread seemed like it needed to be toasted or baked more. The "American pancakes" are made from frozen, flavorless, and come covered in powdered sugar (probably to hide their lack of flavor). I'd suggest removing them from the menu altogether, if you can't do them right. Also, fix the outdoor menu - the burger price is incorrect (less than what is on the menu inside).
David A — Google review
Waited 45+ minutes for borderline inedible food that was upcharged for things like "spicy" without our knowledge, as can be seen in other negative reviews. Beers were warm, too. Waiter was pleasant enough. All round bad experience but I don't have food poisoning (yet.)

Perched atop the newly renovated Matild Palace hotel, The Duchess Rooftop Bar offers a luxurious and exclusive experience with breathtaking panoramic views of Budapest's downtown, the Danube, Elizabeth Bridge, and Gellert Hill. Inspired by Archduchess Maria Klotild's dream of a lavish hideaway on the palace roof, this hidden gem provides an enchanting outdoor atmosphere for socializing while enjoying decadent cocktails and unique creations by renowned MasterChef Wolfgang Puck.
The Duchess Rooftop Bar – A Must-Visit in Budapest The Duchess Rooftop Bar is simply fantastic. The music is great, the cocktails are amazing, the atmosphere is incredible, and the view is absolutely stunning. It does get quite busy, so I’d highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We didn’t book ahead and had to wait about 10–15 minutes in the lobby before getting a spot at the bar, which was still a great experience. Later, we were lucky enough to move outside to the rooftop terrace, which made it even better. The only downside was the whisky selection. The one I originally ordered was on the menu but unavailable. I picked an alternative—also unavailable. In the end, when I finally got my drink, it ran out again when I tried to order a second one. So it took quite a while to actually get my whisky. That said, they compensated us with an extra drink, which made up for it. Whatever you do, make sure to visit this place at least once during your stay in Budapest. It’s 100% worth it!

I had the Geisha cocktail, unfortunately for such an expensive cocktail I cannot understand why the sticky decoration is on the outside of the glass, I touched the green part so many times 🥲 it wasn’t a pleasant feeling! You should definitely change that. I got the first table outdoor you might consider to have more small tables in the panoramic side so we all can enjoy the river view because I saw many empty tables and most of them were big ones. I must say that the service it was amazing! From the 2 hostesses to all the waiters around (all of them were so attentive) I also loved the complimentary olives and snacks.

Gravity Brewing is a unique craft beer bar in Budapest, where the brewery is located on-site. The taproom sits in the basement of a pre-war building adjacent to the production plant, allowing visitors to see the steel tanks and electric dashboards through a see-through door. Despite its unassuming underground location, this small local brewery offers an impressive selection of beers including New England IPAs, rye beers, and robust imperial stouts.
Amazing brewery with a great selection of craft beers, with 12 taps covering sours, IPAs, stouts, a porter, red rye, barley wine and a lager there was something to suit every taste. It was a very warm day when we were there but the bar was lovely and cool, and a great place to chill out. The staff were friendly and the beers very affordable, our only regret was we didn’t get there earlier to try more of the beers!

As a craft beer enjoyer, I could definitely recommended this place: it is the top spot to check in the whole Budapest. Tiny, cozy, comfy - simply amazing!

I came to gravity brewing with a mission. Motivated, focused and determined to try as many beers from their line-up as possible in a single sitting. Polaris, Solar Wind, Magnetar, Collision Course and Draco were beers I’ve tried😵‍💫 It’s not very often when I can say that every beer on tap was excellent, well that was the case at Gravity Breewing. Every beer had a clean and enjoyable profile and was unique in terms of flavour and character as a beer style. I never had anything similar to Sour, NZ Lager, Porter or Stout designed by Gravity Brewing. Well done and congrats to brewers…I’ll be back 😎

Awesome experience (on a Monday even). There’s a reason they have five stars. Great staff (English friendly), can not decide if the light or dark beer styles are better as they all are and you had to peal me off (4K unique beers). My only issue is no “flights” (I like to taste it all, but half pours kind of sway your opinion after a while). A must stop if you’re a beer geek in Budapest though. Stifler Ház is a popular bar located in the heart of Budapest's 7th district. It offers a diverse program of concerts and DJ sets, catering to an international clientele with well-chosen commercial music. The interior design features vintage movie posters and neon lights, creating a unique atmosphere for patrons to enjoy reasonably priced drinks. The bar stands out for its themed rooms, providing visitors with a distinct experience each time.
The ruins, a must visit for any tourist. Do be prepared to come early thou, as the line could start to form up as early as 8:30pm. I was here on a Sunday and it would still attract the crowds. A nice atmosphere, a large place to just chill and hangout, various different areas available and it reminds me of the slumps in Rio.

we went to the restaurant but as there is not a separate location i will write the review here. the restaurant is honestly amazing!! they serve delicious burgers and the portions are not that bad. the burgers do not come with fries so i suggest you order them as a side. the onion rings were the thing that really elevated the whole meal. they also have cherry beer which is one of my favs!! would def recommend ✨✨

We went on Saturday night to have dinner after 10 o'clock, and they seated us right away. Very fast and efficient service, the food was good. I had the sweet potato fries and a pulled pork. Price a little high, but considering the area it may be okay.

Now it’s my favourite club in Budapest! I didn’t see many but why should I if this one give so cool friendly vibe☺️ I love coming to you and dance! Perfect age people, not many crazy teens, most of the people I saw 25-35 years old :) Important thing to mention, locals go there as well and it means a lot to me. In Prague in the tourist places you almost never see locals because it’s too crazy, too wild.

We had a great time! Went in for a couple of beers, which were lovely and affordable. The atmosphere is the real highlight — super lively, full of energy, and perfect for a night out with friends. There’s something going on in every corner, and the place has a fun, unpretentious vibe. Service was quick and friendly even though it was packed. Didn’t try the food, so can’t comment on that. Definitely a fun stop if you’re bar-hopping in Budapest!

Went to play pool. Tables are good enough. The service was pretty meh. Felt like they didn’t want us there. I would try to find somewhere else personally

This place employs completely unprofessional and rude security personnel. The guy on shift on 30 September 2025 is absolutely racist and must be banned from work from people. His behaviour is completely disgusting and unacceptable. Any customers shall stay away of the place until the administration solves the problem with its personnel.

Füge Udvar is a lively ruin pub that opens its doors early in the afternoon and stays open until the wee hours of the morning. The venue offers a variety of entertainment options, including arcade games, billiards, table tennis, foosball, and darts. As night falls, the party kicks off with four dance floors playing different music styles. The Fig Courtyard features a tree in the middle of the main bar and creates a fun-filled atmosphere akin to an amusement park.
Best party place in Budapest. Loved it here. Everythingnis cool. Beers with pingpong? Darts with vodka? Cola with Pool? It all happens here. Nice dancing great vibe.

The first place I visited during my stay in Budapest served a very delicious meal (I don’t remember the name—if you know it, let me know!). Unfortunately, I lost my earmuffs there, and when I went back they were gone, which made my first experience a bit sad. Regardless of that incident, I kept going back and even celebrated my birthday there. I love the atmosphere and the variety of activities you can enjoy while you’re there.
Maryam P — Google review
Yesterday I went to this bar to “have a good time,” but thanks to the staff, my experience was terrible. We tried to play the games they have there, but they wouldn’t accept a “torn” bill to buy the tokens for the machines. The bill wasn’t even broke. When we finally got some tokens, the machines didn’t even work… I went to tell them, and the girl said, “There was a sign saying it didn’t work.” I told her there wasn’t, and she replied, “Well, I didn’t take it down,” and refused to help me at all. I spoke to the other bartenders, and they had already passed the word around not to do anything about it. I’m sure another staff member would have been more human and actually helped. But this girl wasn’t helpful at all. The place was empty, the drinks were awful, and nothing worked. I don’t recommend it — there are plenty of nearby bars with much better service.

Great place! Dancefloors are usually mostly empty, but the atmosphere is great, you can really meet other people, and the drinks are good.

I love that pub. First time I visited because a friend recommended. All the time in Budapest is worth to visit. They have 3 environment and the prices are affordable.
Janis T — Google review
The location is really great and this is where I had the most fun among the ruin pubs I visited in Budapest. You can play billiards, table tennis and more games and it's not too crowded during the weekend (unlike other clubs/pubs) in the city.
Diego A — Google review
Bad service. Miscommunication occurred because it looked like they weren't working, and the guy even decides to kick into me one more time after I PAID. He tells me if it takes more than 3 minutes to make my drink, then I won't get it because they are closing that bar (the other one was still open), and then says to his colleague to make it slower. How is that acceptable?
Sámuel V — Google review
Really fun place to go to play air hockey, pool, table tennis, but not much choice in snacks, no hot drinks and a small collection of standard soft drinks only, the tables were all available as it was a weekday, it is much more busy from Thursday to Sunday, but on weekdays no reservation needed. The staff is helpful.

Excellent. This is one of the finest bars in Budapest — looks simple and down to earth, and yet serves some of the greatest cocktails and food around. While small, their kitchen serves some of the best Goulash stew around and the bar tenders will happily make you a great Gin Tonic. We were happy to be served the drink exactly the way she makes it for herself, and it was superb. Outside seating available directly in the windows, otherwise site inside; live music available on occasions. Update: I’ve been here again after the pandemic and can attest the food is as good as it’s been before.

Lámpás Student Pub is a classic cellar bar located on Dob utca in Budapest, known for its lively atmosphere and diverse musical agenda. It has been a beloved spot for 15 years and is notably open on Christmas Eve, offering an eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, funk, and experimental electronica. Despite being opposite the tourist-heavy Gozsdu Udvar passage, Lámpás maintains its local identity with affordable drinks and free admission.
I only take a bear so don’t know how is the food , but the place is very nice! There was a band playing, it was very busy but if you reserve the table can have a good sit. In any case, there are more rooms so you can sit in a more quiet zone.

An excellent place to enjoy live Hungarian music and great beer. The atmosphere is vibrant and authentic, with talented musicians creating a memorable experience. Highly recommended for a cultural night out!
Eva R — Google review
The most important caveat first: it is not really Lámpás fault it's only getting 4 stars. It's entirely mine (well, my companion's, who really wanted to come here): we were way too early on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was completely empty. However, it did give us an opportunity to breathe (in what I imagine is quite often a crowded and stuffy environment), take in all the graffiti and stickers, and be able to talk. It's dark and grungy. It's also cheap. I would love to come back on a live music night, or even to see the clientele!

Tucked away in Budapest's 6th district, Pótkulcs is a hidden gem known to locals. Once an engineering workshop, this bar now hosts live music concerts and cultural events in its art-filled space. Pótkulcs offers a relaxed atmosphere without the crowds, making it ideal for larger groups.
Unique spot, lovely service, great atmosphere, delicious food and beverage!

The environment at this place is very cozy, particularly when sitting outside under the shade of the trees. However, it's important to note that table service is not available; you need to go inside to order your drinks. The drinks themselves were cold and enjoyable, though the prices felt a bit high considering the overall quality of the venue. Additionally, there's a mandatory 15% service charge, which is quite unusual, and there's even a penalty for using a bank card, which was disappointing. Overall, while the atmosphere outdoors is lovely, I would rate the experience 3 out of 5 points due to the service and pricing issues.

This is a pub frequented by locals who enjoy Hungarian folk dancing to live music. As a tourist, it was a fun glimpse into Hungarian music, dance, and local culture. A lady even taught me a little bit but it was difficult to keep up 😂. The dancers here are so skilled and look like they’re having lots of fun. It was a great Tuesday evening!

Cool place. I used to go there more often. Went back recently and I was surprised to see there's a 15% service fee 🤯 for bar service. Also, you can keep the vibe, but so some cleaning around your service equipment ffs. We live in the neighborhood, and I'm a big fan of neighborhood bars, but probably it'll be a while before I go back again. Hopefully it's a bit better by then.

It's a hidden gem away from the street hustle. Where you can go, kick back with your friends, have a chilled beer. I didn't order food , so I don't know how that is but this a cosy place to spend some time with your friends. The outside is fine but the inside has a very minimal , low light decor. If that's something you like, you should sit inside. But in hot summer days it would be nice to sit outside under the trees. A must visit place if you are in Hungary , just to chill.

1. There is ONE (!!!) women's toilet for the whole place. If you are female and go on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to wait for 10-15 minutes for the toilet every time as there is a huge queue. One time I really had to go and they opened the staff's toilet. So there is more, it is just closed for the guests. :D I don't even think that it is legal to have just one for such a huge place. Never come here if you cant hold it through the night. 2. Sandwich with "meat cream" is very low quality. 3. They moved us to a different table as our's was reserved (there was no sign or whatsoever and it was one of the waiters who sat us there earlier). 4. The place was freezing cold, cold air was blown from the wall in winter.

The location is good. The internal space is A/C. It is tourist road. Service was good, menu was also in English and communication in English was ok. Toilets needed further cleaning. BBQ ribs and pork schnitzel were selected, both were good cooked, taste was average. There were extra charges for a ketchup and a mustard. In general it is an average restaurant

We got beers which they were nice, BUT as tourists, we ordered the small portions and we also showed them quite a few times the small portion that we wanted and they brought us bigger ones and made us pay them. Of course by adding 10% tip of our bill to the checkout. If you are a tourist, be careful.

Really bad experience. We ordered 2 simple drinks and waited 20 min then the waiter served another table who came after us. When we asked them about it he told us he doesn't know if it was taken up in the system without even an apology. We asked them to cancel it if it was and left. To add to the bad service another waiter followed us in the street to say that we didn't pay for something we didn't even get.

For those seeking an even more exclusive experience, there's the option to discover the hidden Hudson lounge within the establishment.
Proper cocktail bar. They know what they're doing and they do it brilliantly. Small but perfectly sized for an intimate cocktail bar. Very comfortable, music at a good volume. Everyone is seated, no standers bumping into you. Coats taken on entry. We sat at the bar which was great as we could chat to the bartender and watch him whip up all of the different cocktails. I had a few from the menu (all named after famous 1920's architecture, and unique to Hotsy Totsy!), my wife fancied something different so Marcel (our bartender) asked a few questions and produced a cocktail she loved! Listed as one of the top 500 cocktail bars in the world. Sights clearly set on the top 50! Would highly recommend! Thank you!

The place is super nice and the atmosphere super cool, the hot water in the natural terms is super pleasant. Security, on the other hand, was abysmal and unfriendly. Once the sparty was over we were changing and security came to the entrance of the cabins to hurry us up, while just afterwards there was a huge queue to get out of the sparty just long enough to get the badge and bracelet for the cabins. The price of drinks is also appallingly expensive: 17€ for a coktail, 9€ for a beer and 4€ for a shooter. On top of that, none of the coktails were well-served with alcohol, and at 80€ for the price of admission, I expect a little more quality of service than what I've seen.

Atmosphere is wonderful but it is to much expensive. You should bring your towel, slipper and swimsuit, otherwise you would pay for everything which is very expensive. Drinks are expensive and the alcohol cups are not very hygienic. Other than that, it is good

There are parties - and then there’s this. The SPARTY at Széchenyi Baths is what happens when a 1913 neo-baroque thermal palace turns into Europe’s wildest open-air nightclub. The same steaming pools that once hosted poets and politicians now thrum with deep house, lasers, and champagne foam under the Budapest night sky. The venue itself is jaw-dropping: built over natural thermal springs, it’s the largest medicinal bath complex in Europe - a masterpiece of Austro-Hungarian grandeur. By day, it’s all healing minerals and elderly chess players; by night, it mutates into something cinematic. Steam, bass, and strobes merge until the yellow arches glow electric blue. You float between 38°C water and a light show worthy of Tomorrowland. Everyone’s half-dancing, half-swimming - strangers from every continent bonding over beats, beer, and pure absurdity. It’s decadent, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. Critique: Drinks are expensive (pre-drink), lockers get packed fast, and it’s sensory overload if you expect a chill soak. But if you go in ready to surrender to the madness, it’s the essential Budapest experience. Pro tip: Arrive by 9:30 PM, stash valuables early, grab a beer or two, and head straight for the main pool when the lights drop - that’s when it transforms from spa to spectacle. Verdict: 11/10 - history meets hedonism. You don’t just party here; you witness a centuries-old bathhouse reinvent itself as the world’s most surreal dance floor.

Good performance overall! The security guards did an excellent job—very strict, but in a way that made sure everyone stayed safe and avoided injuries. The DJ was good, though there’s still some room for improvement with the music selection. Adding more commercial tracks would make the experience even better. For tickets, it’s best to go with the basic entrance fee and buy drinks separately. The premium ticket includes 3 coupons, which you can use for beer or a limited list of cocktails, but not for long drinks like gin & tonic, rum & coke, or whisky. Since those cost around €17 each, it’s usually better value to just pay separately if u don't like sweet cocktails. You need cash!

We were looking forward to visiting this dive bar (only partially, I promise, due to the meaning of its name in Finnish, so we were informed🤪!) but we must have been too early: it was completely empty. So empty, in fact, that even the bartender didn't tend bar, but was on a "smokey breaky", according to the sign on the till, though we saw nobody outside either, so perhaps they'd gone for a drink elsewhere, which we also ended up doing after waiting a while, and getting thirsty. Shame.

A pint of beer 800ft what more could you ask for? dingy as heck but in all the right ways. If you know what you’re in for - a dive bar - you’ll enjoy yourself
Jonah B — Google review
Visit here was uncanny and entertaining. Arrived at a dead time but was hillarious to sit near the door and watch tourists enter, peak around the corner, freak out and leave 😂 Don’t come if you are a neat freak without a sense of humour. We enjoyed a whisky on our pub crawl through town.

Great underground ruin bar,it was a Monday night and really quiet but come the weekend this place must be rammed.great music, great vibe and happy bar staff. Drinks a bit on the cheaper side for this part of the city.

Stumbled upon this TOTAL BUNK by accident which prompted our learning of ruin bars/scene in Budapest. Turned out as an evening of listening to intense trance music, and visiting the toilet corner 'bout half a dozen times in one hour after our lady bartender's recommended concoction :))

This little gem might be one of the best bars I have ever been... It's a small "basement" bar with chaotic setting but great atmosphere for people who like it (like me) Low cost alcohol with great F music (they played a set of Tenacious D... They get the extra 6th 🌟) Located in the Oktagon area it's more or less central but you need to know where it is or you might miss the sign

Bar
Ganz Söröző is a charming and unpretentious bar located on a serene, car-free street near the Kiraly Baths in Buda. Unlike many other bars, it has an authentic and unpolished atmosphere that adds to its appeal. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering a wide selection of handcrafted beers both bottled and on tap. The bar's unique location provides an interesting juxtaposition of urban traffic and a small, picturesque park.
A great little bar on the Buda side, across the Margaret Bridge. Well worth tracking down if you want to get away from fellow tourists, I swear I was the only non local in there! Not a large selection of beer but a really good atmosphere & friendly local dog!

Me and my partner Found this bar by accident, and am happy we did. Fantastic staff, very friendly, and helpful choosing a beer. If we didn't already have plans, we would have stayed all evening. Will definitely be going back next time I visit Budapest. The bar is very quirky and rustic. Has a very laid back feel to it.

What an amazing place to be. Nice people, nice ambiente, and a huge selection of beer 🍺 Thumbs up for you 👍

I actually haven't been but I'm staying in the hotel next door and my room is above this bar. Everyday this place is full, buzzing. The beer must be really good.

Nice small bar with a good beer choice, if you love craft beer then you should visit this place Cool music, very polite bartender Milkshake IPA is great
Ksenia A — Google review
Nice place, they have plenty of different beer in bottle, also some draught, all of them handcrafted. The staff is nice and professional. Prices are normal. The environment is quite interesting; huge traffic from one hand, small, pretty park from the other. Give it a try.

I have found this place by accident, but it became our spot with one of my friend. Very friendly place, they have a lot of optipns of beer. The terrace atmosphere is lovely, full of trees, and you can bring your dog with you. I recommend it with all my heart!

Night club
Arzenál is a hidden gem in Budapest's nightlife scene, offering an underground atmosphere and focusing on alternative and indie music. Housed in a worn-out office building, it provides an off-the-beaten-path experience with an intimate setting and diverse music selection. Visitors praise the venue for its amazing environment, local crowd, and friendly security staff. The opening party of Summer 2023 featured an impressive lineup and efficient organization.
Best venue in Budapest, without question. Place is located in a factory building that was manufacturing weapons, so its authenticity is unparalleled. Drinks are dirt cheap compared to down town clubs, with a huge superiority in security also. The place is certainly a crowd favorites for locals, but it's also well suited for tourists - and liked also. Can only recommend 👍
David F — Google review
The place could get a 4 star easily IF the sound system is either set properly or replaced with one having medium highs not distorted,. Any music with anything else then base gets distorted to the point barely recognisable. Sad but true. Also it is very reliant on lineup how the atmosphere goes and if it is not strong you might notice some very dirty environment. Otherwise a great place to have some heavy party time and enjoy different music and performers. Really loud , you can take food in but not drinks of any kind. The security is kind and when we were there went easy on the crowd.
ZoltanoMoltano — Google review
So I have a very good memory from this club from around 2 or 3 years ago. Really nice location and atmosphere, and all in all it was a great night that has stayed in my mind since then. As I was staying in Budapest for a couple of nights with a friend, I figured we should go, as I had such a great experience there. We got ready for the evening, drank a couple of beers and went to the club. I think the people at the ticket office had to spend around 5/10 minutes explaining the price to me. As I only had euro or bank card they calculated the price in Euro for me. 60€ per person. That is truly the worst price for a club that I have ever seen. They might have had a good headliner, but that does not explain the price. For me techno is also somewhat political, at least something that should not have much to do with capitalism and profit maximization. The people behind this Eventlocation are money hungry. I get that everyone wants to make a living but this is really just insane. Just for comparison - in Berlin, for not even the half (under 30) you get the best club Scene, an all weekender with not just a headliner but insane lineups throughout the whole weekend.
Frederic R — Google review
The sound quality is pretty good but I the lighting is unimpressive. The toilets are an absolute disgrace for such a big place. It's cool that they have so many lockers but they cost 5000ft (3000ft is the deposit that you get back) and is cash only. Bar prices are quite high but expected.
Andrei P — Google review
The Holy Priest concert was great but could not pay by card for the locker to place my jacket so I had to hold it in my hand which is a pain…
Csaba K — Google review
Amazing club in Budapest gives the perfect rave vibes with all the high quality sound and visual equippents on the stage. I can 100% recommend it.
Csóra D — Google review
Beer was pretty expensive. Overall experience was pretty cool. Went to see Lil Texas and the show was beyond expectations.
Adam — Google review
Went for the Halloween event on saturday , but it was a big mistake. First , staff there is very rude for no reason. They only accept cash for lockers and its 13€… THIRTEEN EUROS FOR LOCKERS.. what a scam. They didnt even tell about half of it is a deposit for the key. So we just left it on the locker. They just don’t communicate if you are a foreigner. When you want to leave to go to an ATM - which happens to be far away, security dont even listen what you try to say and yell at you to go inside. Toilets are dirty at the beginning of the event. Im not even talking about the lack of AC inside. True disappointment and scam for that money you pay. Go somewhere else and save your money & energy.

Wine bar
Nestled in the heart of district 8, Cintányéros Wine Tavern is a charming and romantic spot with its high ceilings and vintage decor. The bar offers a cozy atmosphere with mellow lighting, antique photos, and soft music playing in the background. It's a popular choice for locals to unwind over house wines, creative spritzers, handcrafted beers, and Hungarian szorp. Despite being located in an area undergoing development, this wine tavern maintains its old-world charm.
My favorite wine bar in Budapest. Friendly staffs, reasonable price of the menus(wines too!), amazing atmosphere.
Yomisori요미소리 — Google review
The most humble Toronto, Canada owner reconnects with his Hungarian roots and opens his INCREDIBLE wine bar in the rapidly evolving “Brooklyn of Budapest” Neighbourhood. Best place for a date especially given the patio and wine menu of authentic Hungarian wines taking you all the way to 15% ABV wines! Highly recommend as they almost hit their 10 years of being in business.
Paul D — Google review
Lovely location with a pianist to entertain the guests and a cosy terrace with outside seating. Service was fast and professional despite it being busy. My only complaint would be that the food at the end of the day felt a bit stale and lacklustre. Otherwise great wine options and at a reasonable price too. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Hanna H — Google review
A nice spot with friendly service, good food, and a classic atmosphere. The prices are very affordable. Food is very authentic and fresh. Decor is rustic with both ground floor and upstairs being very bright and sunny. The shop is air conditioned which is great in the summer.
Murray J — Google review
Charming neighborhood spot. I spent many a night there at the end of last summer trying a range of conventional and natural Hungarian wines. I found it funny that I couldn't convince some of my Hungarian friends to check it out with me, as they considered it "too far." I guess this is what gives it its charm--it's not overrun by tourists nor the locals who think they're too cool to head out into the 8th. It's a gem of the 8th district and it's all the better for being a little far off the beaten path. The owner and his wife were great to chat with when the bar was not crowded. When the place had any crowd whatsoever, the owner became flustered and stressed, and always seemed to be behind on food orders, which was mildly entertaining but I also felt bad he didn't seem able to find decent help behind the bar. Hope things are going well and the bistro continues to get the credit it deserves.

Hintaló Iszoda, located in the VIII District, is a hidden gem known for its cozy and intimate atmosphere. The bar attracts a bohemian crowd of locals and expats with its two floors adorned in an intimate crimson hue, featuring Dali prints, vintage curios, and works by local artists. Away from the tourist track, this small but charming bar offers good quality cocktails at fair prices.
We found it random and I think that is a very nice place for a chill wine, beer or coctail! The place had great vibes with young people! Totally recommended !!

One of my favourite place in town. It has everything what you need for a great meet up with friends after a long day: cosy atmosphere, great drinks and even better service!
Sára K — Google review
Hintaló Iszoda is honestly such a vibe. It’s this super cozy, slightly quirky pub where you instantly feel like you’ve stumbled into a hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm, a little artsy, and definitely perfect for alternative folks who are tired of the same old generic bars. Prices are on the higher side for me personally, but not outrageous, and honestly the whole experience makes up for it.
Nagy K — Google review
Loved the artistic vibes there. All those paintings on the walls are just amazing. Cute cafe 😍 and bartender was also very kind and polite. She speaks perfect English.
Love B — Google review
I love Hintaló — it’s quietly become a special spot in my Budapest routine. Just behind Blaha, near the daytime buzz of Rákóczi Square, this bar is central but tucked away — it draws people who come intentionally rather than by chance. A nice mix of locals, internationals, and regulars hits a sweet spot between a lively bar and a community hangout. The electronic nights with banger deep/tech house DJ sets are among my favorites — but I enjoy the quieter evenings just as much. Music varies widely from alt hip hop across Hungarian Roma–Balkan folk all the way to French chanson and beyond. They post events on social media. The atmosphere is always welcoming. I’ve been well looked after and enjoy one of the best drink selections around, though a few friends mentioned the cocktails felt a bit light on alcohol compared to what they’re used to in other countries. Finally, a shoutout to the thoughtfully maintained toilets — a small detail that genuinely adds to the overall homey vibe!
Lidia P — Google review
The food was incredibly tasty, but the was OK. The waitresses were also nice guys! Everyone spoke English which is a plus in Budapest! A little bit expensive if you wanna get a drunk night, but as I said the food was great

Her Majesty The Rabbit is a members-only piano bar in Budapest, known for its strict no-phone policy and live music. Members can bring up to three guests, making it an exclusive and elusive spot to visit. The bar features solo piano performances on some nights and hosts bands on Fridays and weekends. With a second African Gin Bar opening at 10 PM, the place offers a unique atmosphere reminiscent of the alcohol ban era.
This place is really cute and well designed, the cocktails are nice and tasty! The staff is very helpful, kind and smiley! We had only drinks but had an amazing experience! ☺️
Katalin S — Google review
Nice concept and hard to find out any information on opening times. Seems that it was around 8PM for me and the piano player and 'second bar' inside that is said to be an African Gin Bar both start and open around 10PM. Drinks are pretty good from a small menu of classics.
Jarrod M — Google review
Awesome little place in the heart of Budapest! Highly recommend this friendly speakeasy to all who like delicious gin and tonics or live music.
Fancy T — Google review

Mesterházy F — Google review
No photos allowed but great bar with good cocktails. They had a piano player and well which was a nice touch.
Dannet D — Google review
No pictures for this one. The Rabbit is an escape from the otherwise chaotic nightlife of Budapest. They're strict about no phones and you must respect their rules and enjoy the live music. Some nights will feature a solo piano player but you may also catch a band on Friday or the weekends. Our bartenders were friendly and service was professional. Come prepared to order, they will happily make you a custom cocktail or prepare you your favorite cocktail. Don't expect to order from a menu on your visit. If you enjoy cocktails and want a chill night it's definitely worth following this rabbit and taking the red pill. You can search them out to prearrange your visit on their website. They're more than happy to guide you in the right direction.
Will R — Google review
It all started well by being let in after ringing the door bell. The interior design was nice and the waitress was really polite. However it only went downhill (or should I say down the rabbit hole) afterwards. The waiter didn't speak English and we couldn't get any information about the cocktails we wanted to order. Cocktails didn't taste much even though they are overpriced compared to other places. The music was terrible. One would expect mellow jazz music played on the piano. What we got was a pianist with an awful voice. I would advise against losing your time here as there are much better places in the city.
