Discovery Place Science, located in Uptown Charlotte, is a captivating science and technology museum that offers interactive exhibits, an aquarium, rainforest experience, and an IMAX theater. Established in 1946 by teacher Laura Owens, the museum has evolved through various relocations and renovations while maintaining its commitment to inspiring and educating students and teachers in STEM fields. With additional locations in Freedom Park, Huntersville, and Rockingham, N.C.
I had an amazing time at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte! This museum is full of interactive exhibits that make science fun and engaging for all ages. We got to touch a snake and sea stars, which was an unforgettable experience! On the third floor, there’s a creative space where you can build your own projects using boxes and tape—perfect for those who love hands-on creativity and solving scientific puzzles. The second floor felt like stepping into a tropical fairy tale, with beautiful birds flying around in a lush rainforest setting. The aquarium section was also a nice surprise, and the live science demonstrations were fascinating. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enjoyable. Whether you’re visiting with kids or just love science and creativity, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Lots of cool things, kept my 16-year-old and my seven-year-old attention and captivated the space was clean. Staff was helpful and friendly parking was OK. You also get a 25% off pass for your parking ticket. I’m assuming if you pay online I paid online. I don’t know how we got the 25% off at the counter, but it was offered m

Discovery Place science is a great place. I had a great time. I had a blast. It’s definitely worth the money even parking isn’t that back either I would highly recommend this location. Please check it out. Take your children. They will run around and have fun for hours. It’s a lot of activities. Never a dull moment. Well worth the money Time and loud noises lol I’m definitely going back to visit again

I was a little disappointed with this science museum. There was one area that was closed for a new exhibit that was coming (I know that this takes place at times), but I felt that this was geared more to children rather than people of all ages. When their main exhibit area is closed there is not much for an adult to do there. It is a well kept and informative place though.

Great museum, in my opinion one of the best ones I've ever been too. Right when you walk in the frogs are incredible. I didn't even know there were that many types of frogs! The next part was more old artifacts that were super cool. Some of them scared me, spiders got something scary bout them. The top floor was really interactive for kids, with a real bed of nails you can lay on. A chair you sit on and pull yourself into the sky. If your in Charlotte, this is another must see attraction.

Really fun experience! Here visiting and it was raining so was needing something indoors. My daughter would have stayed here for 4-5 hrs if we had the time! We spent 2.5hrs and it flew by because it was so interesting and hands on. Tons of experiences and stations to do hands on things! My only complaint was the parking. There is a garage but is $17 for 2hrs or $30 for the day. That’s ridiculous when we already spent $72 for 2 adults and 1 child to enter. Parking should be included. We parked down the road in a lot that was $15 for the day and less than 5 minute walk. Otherwise was a blast! Could be a full day if you added in imax and lunch nearby.
Mary R — Google review
Fantastic place to spend a day with your kids. There are countless handson experiences they can do, from playing with water, magnets, gears, building toy cars, playing music with different objects like pans. There are 3 floors full of exitement and open imagination for the kids. They have an aquarium section with lots of different species and one area where they can touch starfishs and sea urchins. Lots of interesting stuff for the little ones and the no so little as well. The dining options are really good and in the healthier side with fun names and shapes for the kids, like the “spaceadilla” with a rocket shape. We didnt had the chance to go into the IMAX shows but it was a great day at the museum. You can save $5 per person when you buy your tickets online.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte is a must-visit for race fans and history buffs alike. The museum pays homage to stock car racing with interactive exhibits, a state-of-the-art theater, and the Hall of Fame featuring plaques honoring inductees. Visitors can trace NASCAR's evolution from dirt tracks to super-speedways and view artifacts like the first helmet with a radio, iconic uniforms, and historic trophies.
As a motorsport fan, this place is a must see. Absolutely fantastic and full of awesomeness. I had the tour and was given the pleasure of David - a man who knows pretty much everything about MASCARAS history. I cannot offer enough superlatives about him - what an amazing fellow and hopefully he remains at NHoF for a long time! I will be back to visit again!!
Ron W — Google review
I just spent 3hrs in there and it was GREAT! I could have spent even longer, so if you want to see & do everything the NASCAR Hall of Fame has to offer, plan for the whole day. If you’re already a fan, you’ll learn stuff you didn’t know & for those new to NASCAR, you’ll come out of there knowledgeable in our sport. How it first began, along with Junior Johnson’s moonshine days, interactive experiences, to getting to feel the pavement from numerous different tracks. Depending on what ticket you buy, you get a lanyard with your own hard card, unlimited times in the simulator, and more! Don’t worry about lunch, The Pit Stop Cafe has an awesome BBQ sandwich I’d recommend. Upon leaving, you’ll go through The Gear Shop, where you’ll find a variety of options for a fantastic souvenir. An amazing set-up from floor to floor, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sorry no drinks allowed inside. Enjoy!

Visited North Carolina for the first time from California for Hendrick training and decided to stop by the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Definitely worth it. The museum has 4 levels packed with history, information, and legendary cars. The layout makes it easy to explore at your own pace and really soak in the sport’s heritage. The simulator experience was the highlight — super fun and surprisingly realistic. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Charlotte. A great mix of history and hands-on fun. 🏁🚗💨
James Y — Google review
We had a wonderful time at our company sponsored event! The simulator was very cool and the place was nice with plenty of things to see. John was awesome, checking in and making conversation with us regularly. He was so fun to talk to and so genuine! Highly recommend! Only struggle we had was finding the entrance since we originally entered Buffalo Wild Wings but that’s a super small blip. Great experience overall.

We traveled all the way from Hungary, and visiting the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte was absolutely worth it! The exhibits, the atmosphere, and the passion for racing are beyond amazing. You can truly feel the heart and history of NASCAR in every detail. A dream come true for any fan unforgettable experience!
Ritschie — Google review
An awesome museum with the actual cars and other memorabilia. Handling a stationery simulator was an experience. Great fun. Nicely laid out. They have a combo with lunch and that was great too. Parking was next door. Reasonable rates. Go see it!
Craig R — Google review
Great exhibits, lots to keep everyone entertained. Videos, memorabilia, and hands on exhibits. We happened to be there on a race day and got to join the fun of the watch party with enthusiasts. Great fun.
Jan A — Google review
We had a blast! I upgraded to the combo package with the souvenir lanyard and photo, as well as the driving simulator. There is a ton of history here and is well worth the experience for those who are fans and who aren’t fans alike! There is a replica car hauler that you can walk through as well as a place to try your hand at what the pit crews do! A must see in Charlotte! They also have a parking garage there on site at the HOF connected to the convention center.

Theme Parks
Carowinds is a seasonal amusement park located on the border of North and South Carolina, just southwest of Charlotte. It offers a variety of world-class rides, including 13 roller coasters and attractions for all ages in Planet Snoopy. The park also features the Harbor Waterpark for summer fun and the new aviation-themed section called Aeronautica Landing with five immersive attractions.
It was a nice amusement park and water park. There are not many rides for little kids, but they have some great rollercoaster ridesplan on bringing quite a bit of money. I was lucky im 65, so I only paid 19.99 to get in. I bought a refillable drink cup for the day, which cost me 21.97. A small box of popcorn was 8.35.. parking is 35.00 vip parking is 45.00. The one good thing they did was because of the high heat, we went 4th of July weekend was any food place or drink stand you could get a free cup of water. No outside food is supposed to be allowed, but they don't check bags, so you can bring in chips or something. They are a cashless place, so have a credit or debit card with you. Also, you walk through a metal detector. You must have an ID with you. They check for someone over 21 with kids, although he asked a single guy in front of me for his, so just have it ready. There are plenty of rest rooms with no lines for the womens room, that is, people just don't like to flush the toilet, so that's something to watch for. It's a nice park, though, and I can see me going back there again.
Ingrid H — Google review
Had an awesome day! Even with the July heat, the shaded lines, fans, and free water kept us going from open to close! I highly recommend the premium dining plan. By the time you buy 2 meals and a drink you’ve basically paid for the plan. Then, you get to eat every 90 minutes and drink every 15 minutes. Going on a weekday will give you the ability to ride basically all of the rides multiple times! The staff was awesome, kind, and helpful answering any questions we had. Looking for a fun activity for the family that is outdoors and away from screens? This is a great option! We brought a big group our church and had a blast as well! Overall, I’d highly recommend this amusement park if you’re into thrilling rides, good food, and a great time with friends and family!
Christopher S — Google review
What a GORGEOUS and well kept park! There are so many rides I don't think it's possible to do them all in one day! A perfect blend of theme park thrill and carnival charm! The pathways are all very wide and accessible for wheelchairs/strollers. This is very much a thrill park that doesn't offer much entertainment other than the rides themselves, but still nice to go strolling around and shopping/eating. So if you're not a ride person this park may not have too much to offer you, but a beautiful visit nonetheless ✨️
Kiarylane C — Google review
The park is spotless, with well-organized entry controls, and the variety of roller coasters is fantastic — each one feels like a completely different experience. I managed to ride almost all of them! They have great promotions, plenty of food spots, drink stations, and souvenir shops spread throughout the park. The staff is super friendly, and the park itself is huge, full of history, and perfect for a full day of fun.
Erik A — Google review
Wow wow wow …I never thought I would be able to take these thunderstorm rides haha. We really enjoyed them and we found all we needed in the park:fun, food, smiles and most importantly collected memories 💪🏻🫂🥰
Gabriel F — Google review
The fury was amazing. Lines were not unreasonably long, drinks were overpriced, bathrooms were kinda gross in some places in the park, Octoberfest was disappointing but the beer was delicious. Staff was super friendly especially Hailey at the t shirt airbrush booth!!!!! Season pass holders should definitely get fast passes for a discounted price!!!! $55 for one season pass holders is stupid!
Heather M — Google review
It's a smaller park, but it's packed full of good times. This was our first trip to the park, and it was spectacular! The rides were great, the food was great. The only thing that wasn't so great was spending so much money on souvenirs. We were able to get on pretty much every coaster. The longest waits were on Fury 325, (definitely worth it), and Carolina Goldrusher (not worth it). We missed out on Vortex and the Flying Cobras. Our first ride was Thunder Striker, and it was a great introduction to the park. That forest drop was nothing to scoff at, and the rest of the ride was a rowdy good time. It was on to Kiddy Hawk, and I'm sad to say it was a little rough. The over the shoulder restraints were cumbersome, and the ride was rather rough. From there, we took a short walk over to After Burn, the inverted looper. It was surprisingly quick, with lots of good inversions. It was probably my third favorite ride. The next coaster we went to was Copperhead Strike, a launch coaster. This one was my second favorite of the day, with an inversion right out of the station, leading to the first launch into what is best described as controlled chaos. You do need to rent a locker for your belongings, or leave them with other members of your party. (The same applies for Fury 325.) We took a break from coasters, and hopped on Zephyr, a little swing ride. After walking for a bit, we got in line for Carolina Goldrusher. This one was a little on the rough side, it is definitely showing it's age. Afterwards it was time for a little break. They offer an all-day wristband for drinks, which you can get every 15 minutes. We also got some food, they also offer an all-day wristband for food every 90 minutes. The food was surprisingly good for a theme park, and things were decently priced. We then hopped on Rock and Roller, your typical roundabout flat ride. We then continued our adventure through the park and found ourselves on Ricochet, which is best described as what it must be like to be a pinball. It's a traditional Wild Mouse coaster, with plenty of tight turns and steep dips and drops. Leaving Ricochet, we jumped to Carolina Cyclone. This Arrow Looper is the precursor to Magic Mountain's Viper, and it offers a little bit of a smoother ride experience than its (much bigger) cousin. Having finished with the corkscrew coaster, we wanted to try out the Woodie, Hurler. Unfortunately, it was down, so we decided to go on Fury 325 instead. We were only in line for about 30 minutes, and honestly, I could have waited longer. This was easily my standout favorite of the day: great big drops, massive overbanked turns, and plenty of zero-g moments. It's pretty obvious why this has been named Best Steel Coaster for nearly 10 years running. By the time we were done with Fury, we were hungry again, and stopped for refreshments. We ended the night with Hurler, and it was definitely a wooden coaster: angry and unapologetical, it doesn't give in. There are better Woodies out there, but there are also some worse ones as well. All-in-all, it was a great experience, we will definitely be coming back for more.
Joseph W — Google review
Very nice park , clean and everything seems to be well maintained. All the employees I encountered were very nice and seemed to do their jobs well. All the food we tried while there was very good from brisket to pulled pork and chicken tenders. I was impressed with Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike . Both are great rides . We came on a Sunday, a very hot day and the park overall was not very busy or at least imo it wasn't, though I'm used to Cedar Point type busy 😅😅. Overall great experience at this park.

ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center is a vibrant and imaginative space designed to engage children in education, arts, culture, and multimedia. This 102,000-square-foot facility offers a variety of library, audiovisual, and performing arts studios for the youth of Charlotte.

Parking here is a scam. Came for summer camp play. Was charged $20 for 2 hours. 90 min was supposed to validated and then $5 per half hour. Was overcharged and they wouldn’t let me out unless I paid the full 20. Took pics of the signs and will be disputing the charge.

This is a gem in the city. You can make a day of it. Take the train with your child, come here to this fabulous free library and go around the corner for lunch. Our toddler loved it here. It’s nice, clean, free and fun. What an amazing place for children.
Ruby S — Google review
One of the most beautifully designed libraries we have ever been to. A lot of interactive set up for kids. Now they are having an famous art inspired hall exhibit set up on the ground floor, which is so fun for our toddler. They also have regular story times. All the designs here are super kids friendly and oriented.
Sunny G — Google review
This is an awesome place! The kids were thrilled running around to check out all the activities and exhibits. Wish we lived closer to be able to take advantage of being able to check out books. Side note: there are two pokemon gyms reachable from inside and the park across the road is full of pokestops
Mike T — Google review
Lots of books for kids and teenagers, fun small play area kind outside. This entrance is free unless you want to get some books etc. Lot of science activities for kids like magnets, books along with other play stuff. Definitely recommend going here, if you wanted to go during busy time I would recommend going by train as the station was literally next door.
Rakesh N — Google review
You can find plenty of things for your kids to do here. It’s not a typical library, it gets loud in here but it’s a really good place for your kids to have fun. Your first glimpse of entertainment comes on the sidewalk entrance.
Kengi M — Google review
Our family absolutely loves this library. There is something for kids of all ages, birth to 17. They have a variety of programs, story time, book clubs, etc. The architecture is inviting and beautiful. Almost everything is interactive and educational. It's also an excellent location in the heart of uptown with ample green space, restaurants, museums, and train stop nearby.

What very fun and active place! This was my first time ever zip lining and white water rafting and I had a ball! The staff was so helpful! Orientation was a breeze! The food was down right delicious and the live band in the evening was great! Such a great atmosphere for everyone and all ages!

Such a wide variety of active adventures here. Various levels of whitewater rafting and kayaking , flat water kayak and stand up paddle boarding, zip lines, suspension bridges… good food and good beer… great staff. All staff we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. We went one day and decided to buy an annual pass.
AJ B — Google review
The U.S. National Whitewater Center is an awesome, phenomenal place! I highly recommend it, especially for families. It is well worth the visit and the drive. Activities and Facilities This place offers so much more than just the water activities. You can find: • Zip lines • Whitewater kayaking and rafting • Mountain biking • A massive rock climbing wall that hangs out over a pool • Two or three bars on location serving draft beer • A conference center and plenty of open space. We were here for four days for the slalom kayaking and national kayaking cross competitions, and it was a blast. My son is having just as much fun on his second visit as he did the first time. Value and Recommendation The season pass is 100% affordable, making it a fantastic value if you're local to the Charlotte area. If you are in Charlotte, you absolutely have to check this place out. We will definitely be coming back again!
Mike B — Google review
Super cool Place to just enter for a $12 parking fee and take a walk. Have a picnic, even bring your dogs in for a walk. They have an area down the street. That's off-leash, very cool place. You can spend the money to get on kayaks or rafts and ride on the white water rafting pool,/ Area rock, climbing over pools. Stand up paddle boarding in a completely different area off of the river creek. Super cool area Super cool place, whenever in the Charlotte area. I highly recommend this for you. The kids, the wife, the son, the cousin, the daughter, the aunt, everyone is welcome. Very nice and friendly atmosphere go now
LAND R — Google review
First time experiencing white water rafting and such a blast! We held a quick conference there in the morning at their lodge meeting center and then stayed for lunch and white water rafting! Definitely a wet, wild and exhilarating time was had by all. Definitely a must do if you're in the Charlotte area!
James T — Google review
What an awesome place! We came for a few hours and wished we'd planned on taking the whole day. We managed to pack in Rafting, climbing, hitting up the dog park and a really tasty late lunch. And there was so much more to do. BUT this is also a great place to come and just relax. You only have to pay to park if you just want to come and relax in the beautiful park-like setting. And then if you are feeling like having some adventure time, you can a'la cart activities or buy a day pass OR get a yearly pass which is a steal. And it should be said that we were really impressed with the staff. Everyone was not only very nice, but also professional. We wish we had not waited so long to come out and enjoy this wonderful place.

Great time here! Started out as a company rafting trip.... A couple of us stayed all day. Highly recommend doing the day pass just know that you have to pay extra for the tall zip lines on top of it. (They didn't disclose this) The big zips were worth it! Recommend the top line to ropes bridges to bottom zip over the rapids. The biggest issues that we had were miscommunication on the employees part. It seemed like everybody we talked to had only been working there two months or less.... There's no consistency between which year from one employee to the next regarding where to go or what to do. Prime example was calling 2 months ahead of time to schedule the company rafting trip and specifically asking about the rodeo option for multiple people. We were told at that time that you could show up day of and get in. They were not worried about reservations ahead of time as it probably wouldn't be too busy. Let me show up the day of and they tell us that they don't do it on weekends 🙄. Our guide made up for it as there was only four of us in the big boat and he read the people perfectly and made sure we did the most extreme he could to make it fun!

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord, located at the Concord Mills mall in Concord, is an interactive marine sanctuary featuring thousands of aquatic creatures. The aquarium offers a 360 ocean tunnel, touch-tank pools, and various exhibits such as harbor, shoaling, shipwreck, jellies, and conservation displays. Visitors can participate in educational programs like animal interactions and feeding programs.
I had a great experience at SEA LIFE Charlotte! At first, I thought it was going to be small, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see. The aquarium has a wide variety of fish and marine creatures — from colorful tropical fish to jellyfish, sharks, rays, and even sea turtles. Each area is thoughtfully organized and makes the visit both fun and educational. What I really appreciated was the self-guided experience. The printed and posted information throughout the aquarium was clear, engaging, and helped me learn a lot about the animals and their habitats. It’s a great setup for visitors to go at their own pace and still enjoy a very informative tour. Overall, it was a very enjoyable visit. Whether you’re going with family, friends, or even solo, SEA LIFE Charlotte is definitely worth checking out. I would happily visit again and highly recommend it to anyone spending time in the area!

I took my family here for my daughters birthday party an everyone had such a great time. The aquarium was very beautiful all the fish and different things to see was really nice an the walk through piece is just breath taking truly. Definitely recommend everyone to go here 100%.

The aquarium was amazing. Myself and family enjoyed it. The price was a little steep $25 per person. I thought the establishment would have been a little bigger, but overall we still had a great time. Would recommend.

Absolutely loved this place — and it’s not just for kids! 🐠 The walk through the aquarium takes about an hour, but no one rushes you, so you can take your time and enjoy every moment. So many impressions, vibrant colors, and magical underwater scenes. Highly recommend — my little princess was thrilled and couldn’t stop talking about it!

Nice aquarium! Kids and adults will enjoy this pleasant surprise while visiting the mall. There were lots of material to read on the sea life that lives here. We took our time and loved it. Totally worth a visit if you're in the area!

Sealife: that part of the world that we, human beings, don’t really consider in their everyday actions! I took my son to show him that life is more than just go to work, take a shower, visit friends or going to the beach. Life is taking accountability for every species in this beautiful planet 🌍
Gabriel F — Google review
We visited this aquarium on a Monday morning and found out to be a little busy but not packed, though certain spaces could feel cramped and loud if a large group was in them. Entry was located inside the mall. We purchased tickets ahead of time, which provided a small discount, but our total was still more than $40 for 2 adults. This provided us unlimited re-entry for the whole day, which could be good if it was busy during your time slot, and you had availability to come back later. The aquarium itself only had a few exhibits, and you could easily breeze through in 5 minutes if you wanted to. The thing that is most lacking is educational information, especially in the form of staff interaction within the exhibits. That said, the design is pretty cool, and there are some really fun areas to look at, like the deep sea tunnel you can walk through. While I do feel this is an overpriced experience, I did enjoy it a lot and would recommend visiting, though this is definitely a one-time thing for me.

Thought this place was small but nice Definitely nice if you have small children. There is alot of fish, star fish touching, and exploring kids can do. Great for a hot or rainy day for something to do if ur local. I wouldn't make a long trip for just this.

Carolina Raptor Center, located in Huntersville, North Carolina, is a rehabilitation and conservation facility for raptors. It houses over 35 different species of birds of prey and offers outdoor nature trails where visitors can observe these fascinating creatures up close. The center also conducts flight shows and features indoor exhibits to educate the public about these majestic birds. In addition to being an aviary rehab facility, it serves as an educational center with programs that reach thousands of students annually.
Excellent family activity. All staff are professional, friendly, knowledgeable. All raptors are upclose where you can actually see them. Cages are maintained and animals look happy! You walk a trail too view raptors so it's like a hike through the woods. There is a show that the staff put on. We were very surprised as the show was the highlight. Definitely will return, perfect family activity for all ages. Thank-you Carolina Raptor Center..special thanks to Alex for spending extra time with my 8yr old that asked a million questions. 🙂👍

Loved this ! Amazing folks who know their birds and will walk the extra mile to make sure every visitor is happy. The whole area is small but has whatever it takes to attract families.

Great learning experience for the kids. It's about $45 for 2 kids and an adult. Also 100% outdoors and shaded so bring your off or prepare for mosquitos. My kids spent about an hour and a half but slowing them down to read all the info didn't happen the whole time. I'd say you could make an easy 2 hours if you walked through and read everything. When the kids are a little older I think it'll be better bang for the buck with their attention spans being what they are.
Christopher F — Google review
The walking path is nice & shady and the birds are wonderful. The cages do seem small for the individual birds. Also, I do agree that the gift shop people were less than helpful. If I can visit again, I’ll try to come when I can go to their hospital, as I am more familiar with that end of raptor and bird rehab.
Meagan E — Google review
Well worth the price as the birds are awesome. Really beautiful habitats and love how its built into the forest. Felt like you were hiking a trail and had a wide range of different raptors. If you love seeing birds of prey, this is the place to go.

Best raptor center this year by far. So close to the birds. Cages are not long and narrow. They are big but set up so bird is close to viewer. The birds were so active and wasn't to busy. Cool trails through the woods also

I attended with my child's school. The presentation was fun and very informative, the birds of prey were amazing to see up close. All of the facilities for both humans and the birds were top-notch!

The Carolina Raptor Center helps treat over 800 sick and injured birds per year. The facility is small, with a walking trail and enclosures that can be completed in less than an hour. Your visit supports wildlife, the price is reasonable, and it is worth stopping by if you are in the Charlotte area.

The Sullenberger Aviation Museum, located at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC, offers a captivating journey through the history and technology of aviation. Visitors can explore a diverse collection of commercial, military, and civil aircraft as well as aviation artifacts and memorabilia. The museum features interactive displays, educational information about aviation, and hands-on activities for an engaging learning experience for visitors of all ages.
I am not overly interested in planes but this Museum was pretty interesting. If you have a kid who is 6-10 who likes planes this is a great choice. They have tablets that you can hold up to a plan that gives you icons to tap and they will give you all kinds of information about the plan. They also have about 4 mock airplanes cockpits that kids can ride in with no charge. There is also a really nice display and movie about the Miracle on the Hudson. I think we spent about 2 hours going through. Word of warning if you are taking kids, the entrance is through the gift shop.

Very interesting museum featuring Sully's plane that went into the Hudson River. The short video about the water landing was very interesting. Saw some of the real passengers sharing their experiences. The rest of the museum had several different kinds of planes and helicopters. Passenger and military. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and there were several people there enjoying the museum.
Lorie H — Google review
Fantastic experience at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum! Our 4- and 8-year-olds had the best time exploring cockpits, trying simulators, and even earning their little pilot licenses. A perfect mix of play and learning. Highly recommend a visit!
Lidiia B — Google review
This place is a must-visit for anyone even remotely interested in aviation, history, or just incredible stories of human resilience and engineering. The Sullenberger Aviation Museum was an absolute highlight of our trip. Walking through and seeing all the old planes — both commercial and military — was amazing, but the centerpiece is obviously the actual plane that Captain “Sully” Sullenberger landed in the Hudson River. Standing in front of it, reading the stories, and hearing the firsthand accounts from passengers on that flight… it gave the whole visit an emotional weight that really sticks with you. What really stood out beyond the exhibits were the guides and staff — every single one of them was friendly, engaging, and seriously knowledgeable. You could tell they love what they do, and it makes the experience that much more immersive. Now, my stepfather is a huge history buff, especially when it comes to anything military-related, and let’s just say… it took some convincing to get him to leave. Between the military aircraft, the historical timelines, and the detail in the exhibits, this place was everything he could’ve hoped for — and I had a blast too. Whether you're an aviation nerd, a fan of heroic stories, or just looking for something memorable and meaningful to experience in Charlotte, this place delivers.
Fallguypat — Google review
Overall, it was a great experience with many interesting exhibits. I learned a lot about the history of different planes (military and civilian), as well as the history of the Charlotte airport and aviation in North Carolina. It was cool to see the Wright Flyer replica, as well as a C-130 and the "Miracle on The Hudson" plane. They also have many interactive exhibits, such as flight simulators (in the cockpit of a plane) that you can use and screens that you click through to learn more about topics such as the stories of individuals in aviation (military and civilian). So this museum appeals to multiple interests: -Military history and aviation technology -The history of civilian aviation in general -The economic development of Charlotte -Getting hands-on experience (the flight simulators and the Honeywell-sponsored craft room). We were deciding between this museum and the Museum of Illusions, since we only had a few hours. And I'm glad we chose this one. As a side note, the ticket price shown here on Google Maps is $18. But at the museum, that is the before-tax price for children. The cost for adults is $25.50. They have discounts for military, education professionals, seniors, etc. But it may be good to check the online price before you go (unlike me). You could also potentially get the multi-museum package for 1 or 2 days if you have the time and interest to visit multiple places.
Daniel W — Google review
Great way to spend a few hours if you’re interested in aviation and history. Good variety of planes and helicopters on display. Good information about the history of aviation in the Charlotte area over the last century. The displays are informative and well done. There are a few hands on exhibits including a flight simulator. Lots of volunteers are there to answer questions and use the technology. The video on the crash is well done and takes only about 15 minutes. They say allow an hour and a half but if you have a lot of interest in the subject I would double that. There is an onsite gift shop and a lunch counter.
Joseph T — Google review
Very interesting and educational museum. Miracles on the Hudson story very extensive. The plane from the crash is on site with videos of the event that day. Other aircraft viewable both inside and outside aviation buildings. Plenty of simulation opportunities and a nice gift shop. Ample parking in the lot and close to Charlotte airport.
C L — Google review
The google reviews do not do this place justice . It is absolutely stunning inside and out . So much to do and look at . You are allowed to sit inside some jet cockpits and also a commercial Boeing full cockpit which was awesome. There are planes too to bottom and the vibe inside is sick like an arcade or movie theater . My kids 13 and 6 loved it especially the plane game simulators and so did I . It never felt crowded at any point . The price is definitely work it and I would come back again

Discovery Place Nature, previously known as the Charlotte Nature Museum, is a fantastic destination for families with children. The center offers interactive nature exhibits and live animal displays, including a captivating butterfly pavilion and various creatures native to North Carolina. Kids can engage in hands-on activities such as identifying animal tracks and exploring insects while learning about different ecosystems. Additionally, the venue hosts music events and provides a play area for children to enjoy.
I haven’t been here in years, but visited with my 3 year old son recently and we had a great time! This is a perfect day activity for little kids, up to ages 6-8 I think would love it. It is an older museum (established in 1951) so the building looks old, and exhibits aren’t as new as they could be, but we haven’t been to many museums, so this was exciting for us! You enter through the main room that leads down multiple hallways. We bought tickets at the door, $8 each— they also have senior, military, and AAA discounts, as well as a program to offer $3 tickets if you receive WIC or EBT benefits. I ended up buying a yearly membership at the end of our visit, for both the Nature Museum and Discovery Place Science. It covers 2 parents + any kids in the family, and I chose to add one guest so you can bring someone else for any visits. We took a brief stop into the wildlife lab, which had an event going on with a class of kids (I think from a visiting summer camp or preschool), and got to touch a snake! Next is the insect alley and creature cavern. Insect alley has some cool displays with bugs, and had a cute “bug” for the kids to stand behind. My son kept giggling when he saw himself in the mirror! The creature cavern has live animals like snakes, frogs, and turtles. My kiddo really loved stepping onto the rocks and going “hi turtles!” Our Big Backyard might have been his favorite room; it has underground tunnels kids can go through, and water features like a little stream, and a water paint wall. Next, we went to a show in the planetarium. He wanted to walk around at first, but when the show started it kept him pretty mesmerized! The projector showed us the stars you can see in the summer, and explained the different constellations and notable stars. Peetie’s Place is a play area with some books, toys, and nature-inspired decor— there’s also a little area built into the wall that kids can go into. There were summer camps going on in the Sunspot and Naturalist Lab rooms, and the Dragonfly Theatre didn’t have any events going on so we didn’t go in. We stopped by the Butterfly Pavilion; it’s covered by glass so there’s lots of natural light, and is basically a courtyard with plants. There’s a vending machine with snacks and drinks, and $1-2 each (they did actually have vegan fig bars that my son likes, so I got one for him!) We didn’t venture outside to the Paw Paw Nature Trail or Fort Wild, but definitely will on the next visit. I saw a sign outside saying that they’re working on site improvements in the Fort Wild area, and are accepting public input— the site says it’s in draft mode right now, but I’m looking forward to seeing what they do! Over all, it was a great trip, and we spent the day from 1:30-4:30 here, and had lots of fun. We actually parked on the street by the entrance to Freedom Park, and ended up walking along the trail to the Nature Museum.

I really wish we'd known about this place before it's about to close for good. I took my daughter here on an off-day from school & we both loved it! Our favorite part was the planetarium, super informative & also let us see close up the constellations that we've learned about beforehand. The space held lots of reptiles & things to read about them. We didn't see any butterflies in that one room for them, only cockroaches. Haha! But the staff were really sweet. It's in a great area, I hate it's going to close. I hope something else is put in its place that's just as useful the all communities.
Ashley L — Google review
This museum has improved so much over recent years. Our whole family enjoys the planetarium shows, which are included in admission. The nature trails and outdoor play areas are creative spaces. I appreciate being able to have close up viewing of animals at different eye levels, along with different play spaces. The space is definitely designed with young children in mind.

Great low cost activity for the family. The bees were pretty cool, as were all the other exhibits. I was disappointed that we didn't see ANY butterflies, however. Would definitely go back again.

Great learning opportunities. Is the staff is knowledgeable, kind and polite. It's a little small but for the size of the space they've done a wonderful job. Awesome place to take the kids. Little on the small side but you can get a few hours out of it easily. There's exhibits inside and a more.. 'natural' play area outside, my boy loved it. If I recall there is a trail you can access from the parking lot that leads to a park / lake. Would 100% go back.
Jarred E — Google review
This is a wonderful little place to learn and explore! There are so many little spots to enjoy, animals to look at, and areas to climb. The butterfly room was fantastic, with beautiful butterflies fluttering all around us, and even landing on us if we stood really still. We enjoyed a show at the planetarium part, which was really awesome! They have great cushions to lay back on while you watch the show! We were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem hidden away in Charlotte!

A quaint museum with a couple of animals. There's a planetarium, but it wasn't playing anything the morning (Thursday) of our visit. Staff was extremely friendly and content ou'd museum was interesting. However, the primary audience is for kids and although i would've loved to visit with mine, they weren't with me, and i was looking for more information about the area.

The Billy Graham Library, located just a few miles from where the renowned religious leader grew up in Charlotte, is a sprawling 20-acre site that offers visitors a glimpse into his life and legacy. The library features Graham's original family home, which has been meticulously restored using 80% of its original materials, as well as his extensive personal book collection of nearly 4,000 titles.
A Powerful and Inspiring Experience The Billy Graham Library is a beautifully curated, self-guided journey through the life and ministry of a man who said “yes” to God—and let that surrender shape a global impact for the Kingdom. My husband and I were deeply moved by how powerfully it illustrates what God can do through one life fully yielded to Him. We had read that two hours would be enough time, but we gave ourselves three and a half and still didn’t get to see everything. Unfortunately, we missed the house tour and didn’t have time to browse the store as we had hoped. The food at the Dairy Barn was great—we just wish we had made it back in time to try the milkshakes! As we prepare to enter full-time missions ourselves, this afternoon spent exploring Billy Graham’s legacy was incredibly meaningful and encouraging. One of the highlights was Barbara taking a moment to pray for us at the end of our visit. That meant so much. The entire team was warm, welcoming, and clearly committed to excellence. Thank you for creating such an impactful experience.

Amazing place!!!! I love Billy Graham and I am so glad I got the opportunity to visit his library. You can sense the presence of God there, all the staff are SO WARM and FRIENDLY. The tour and experience is well organized and laid out. I would gladly come back again and again. Glory to God for blessing us with such a man and his ministry. And to all who put this together to honour his legacy which points us all to Jesus. And it’s totally free!

This is a must see! The Billy Graham Library is truly a special place. The Journey of Faith museum experience is so well done it beautifully captures the history of Billy Graham’s life and ministry. Walking through, you can see how God used his obedience and faith to impact millions around the world. Every exhibit is meaningful, and the storytelling is powerful and personal. I visited years ago and wow, that have really done a pronominal job. Be sure and check out his childhood home, which has been carefully preserved, as well as the quiet, peaceful gravesite it’s a moving reminder of a life well lived. A great tip: take a little time to sit on the back porch with a good book and just soak in the atmosphere. The setting itself is peaceful and welcoming, making the entire visit feel uplifting. Also spend some time in the gift shop as well as the cafe. The food on the cafe is really good and reasonably priced. I left encouraged, inspired, and grateful for the reminder of how God can use one life surrendered to Him and reach so many,

What a neat place! I think they moved Billy Graham’s home four miles to this location, which is pretty amazing, Rick. The people there are super friendly. I don’t know if I would call it just a library or more of an experience. It begins with a visit to the main library, where friendly staff introduce you to the site and give a short tour via videos about Millard and his evangelistic movement. At the end, of course, you get a call from Billy encouraging you to give your life to the Lord, which is a nice touch. However, some people might find it odd if they just happen across the place. The house is well maintained, although you can’t go upstairs. There are a couple of pieces of furniture that were actually in the Graham household, while everything else is period-appropriate.

My mother, 3 daughters, and I went to see Wicked. It was wonderful seats and a beautiful theater. My husband and I along with 2 of our friends went in the spring to see The Thorne!! Wow, oh wow.. it was amazing. I dont believe it matters where you sit the seats are awesome. The few steps you go down to get to the lower seats are easily accessible, but they also have a small elevator which holds 3 people or a wheelchair and 1 person comfortably. The parking is really close by, but it is a madhouse to get out. You need to know how to drive in back to back traffic.

The Levine Museum of the New South in Uptown Charlotte offers an engaging exploration of post-Civil War Southern history and the people who drove social change. The museum's current exhibition, "Charlotte: Moving Forward, Looking Back," delves into the city's evolution from its early settlement to modern times. Through interactive exhibits and diverse family-friendly programs, visitors can learn about Charlotte's transformation from a trading village to a thriving financial center and its journey towards becoming a multicultural city.
Visiting the Art Gallery of New South Wales was an enriching experience! The museum offers an incredible variety of artworks that span from classical pieces to contemporary Australian and international artists. The Indigenous Australian art section was particularly eye-opening, giving me deeper insight into the culture and history of the land. The layout of the museum is beautiful, and the space is filled with natural light, making it a pleasant place to explore. The staff were welcoming, and the free admission was a great bonus! I highly recommend this museum to any tourists visiting Sydney—it’s a great way to immerse yourself in Australian culture and art.

This is a small elegant museum, free to enter. It captures the history and evolution of Charlotte and North Carolina pretty well. It's a single floor, takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how much time you spend on each topic. Lots of images, maps, explanation of milestone moments for the city and the state that shaped it over centuries. The two key events I remember from visit are Charlotte's role in ending segregation and the city became the a leader in banking world. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Charlotte for the first time.

Wonderful afternoon learning about Charlotte's history. Free museum that accepts donations. Historical and Educational. Spent about 90 at the museum. Close to many restraunts, shops, stadiums, parking, hotels, and the airport is 8 minutes away. I loved my visit.

An exceptionally informative and educational exhibition of Charlotte’s history, present and future. Entry is free, however donations are recommended. Plan to spend at least an hour to cover material. Must see for any Charlotte resident or visitor to connect to the city and understand the evolution of Charlotte.

This was a very interesting and informative spot for me to find by chance when I was looking to get out of the rain. I read through almost all of the exhibit and found everything to be quite interesting. There was a board to leave a personal comment on which I thought was a great idea and very helpful after such an emotional exhibit. Thank you and I have recommended you to other friends and family.

I’m happy I came here! I recently moved to Charlotte and I didn’t know the rich history behind this bustling city. I think all Charlotte natives or new Charlotte residents should come here for a history lesson. So good. The front desk staff was very inviting and the parking is validated if you park in the parking garage.

The museum is well done. The layout is fantastic and I love all the different recreations of stores, barber shops and letting you really walk into them. Lots of good information and creative ways for you to interact with the exhibits, I would highly recommend!

Big Air Trampoline Park in Charlotte, NC offers a thrilling experience with wall-to-wall trampolines, dodgeball courts, dunk lanes, and the famous Big Slam adjacent to foam pits. It's the perfect place for families to enjoy active playtime and burn off energy. As the birthplace of the first trampoline park, it's a must-visit destination for those who love jumping and trying out new ways to exercise.
Looked online and saw that they have Cosmic night every Friday and Saturdays from 7-10pm. Purchased tickets and decided to include to $5 meal tickets, which includes a mini personal pizza and drink. Perfect for kids who want a meal or something to snack on while they are playing. Arrived at 8pm and automatically felt the vibes. Lights are low and music playing. They have everything from wall climbing, the orbit, challenge court, bull riding, etc. They have a "lil zone" where toddlers can go inside and play with at their own pace. They have Lazer maze and other games besides trampoline jumping. They have a cafeteria that offers hot dogs, pizza nachos, snacks, and drinks. The kitchen stays open till 9 pm, but the front for drinks and snacks stays open till 10 pm. They also have a bar at the top of the park in they "Mezzanine" for adults. They stay open till 9 pm. They offer beers, seltzers, red and white wine, and beers. Unfortunately, when I went, they had run out of white wine. Good ambiance for parents to have a drink and the kids getting to let loose. Awesome atmosphere. All the kids were having a blast, and we had no issues at all.

This place is NOT for children younger than 8 years old. Their website advertises toddler time on Tuesdays 10am - 1pm for children 6 and under. We arrived 09/23 and were told at the desk that toddler time had been canceled because CMS schools were closed for the day. So we paid $56 for our twin 4 year olds to jump for an hour and a half just to realize that they're not tall enough for 2 of the attractions, 3 other attractions weren’t even open, they can't reach the ropes on the open trampoline area to zip line, the dodgeball pit was full of kids twice their size pelting each other with balls and the basketball area was also overrun by children too big for my twins to play with. We also weren’t impressed with the insulation hanging out of the ceiling above the basketball hoops. After 45 minutes of walking around in circles we politely let the admission attendant know we were having less than a favorable time and he gave us a refund and we left. If toddler time isn’t going to be honored it shouldn’t be advertised.

Wonderful experience for kids to enjoy & just be a kid & have fun jumping in & on everything. Parents & and grandparents are Blessed to sit and watch the joy on the kids' faces as they enjoy their evening at Big Air Trampoline Park.

We took my son there for his 4th birthday. He loved it and his brothers all had a blast. Note to management, entrance was disgusting...overflowing trash cans, trash all over parking lot and gum everywhere on the sidewalk. For the two hours we were there, didn't see any of the 10-15 employees who were there clean one thing or make any effort to clean up front of facility. Leads me to believe it's a training issue.
Derrick S — Google review
I drove 45 minutes to take my 7 year old that has been so looking forward to going to BIG Air. I've taken him to the other location and it was great but this one was not. More than half of the attractions were closed. I spoke to an employee to see why was it $30 (I dont mind paying $50 as long as everything was functioning) if more than half the stuff were closed. The employee said he'll ask the manager and never came back. BIG air was a BIG disappointment here.

Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville is a children's museum located in Huntersville, North Carolina. It offers interactive exhibits and live shows designed to engage young minds in learning through play. The museum features themed areas focused on healthy habits, natural sciences, and creative spaces. Children can explore various career ideas, participate in hands-on activities like building with blocks and Legos, and even experience being part of a show at Town Center.
Amazing play museum for kids! I brought my 1.5 year old and she had a great time exploring all the different play areas. I appreciated that they had smocks for the kids to wear when playing with the water station. Great way to spend the day!

Awesome for kids under 8 years! It has 2 levels - lots of stimulating play structures, indoor playground, water play, legos, and play pretend areas ( super market, kitchen, farm, sea underwater, car mechanic etc). Huge creative arts & craft room, magic and lab experiment shoes throughout the day. The staff are super friendly. There is a cafe /snack room with vending machines and nursing room for moms!! Get the annual membership! So worth the price - especially if you have multiple kids!!
Ashley T — Google review
We love coming to discovery place for our toddler to get some playtime in and it’s especially great for rainy days or when it’s very hot outside. They constantly sanitize different areas throughout the day and have little shows in the stage area to entertain the kids. Plenty of areas for different interests in play styles. Some areas can get messy but it’s up to the parents to help children learn to clean up after they are done playing. So it’s to be expected that it’s a tad messy in some cases. Also some of the displays didn’t have the pieces like the apples in the farm area or the foam blocks in the construction area. That could be due to cleaning those pieces, maybe missing, or maybe those displays weren’t working correctly anymore. Appreciated the area for snack time and having a variety of options for kids and parents. Regardless overall they have plenty of spaces for kids to explore and play.

The attention to detail in this place is like no other! I mean look at all the ingredients. I wish I got more photos but I was truly an awe. They had apple and corn picking, a pizza restaurant, water tables, a car shop, arts and craft. It was incredible. Would totally go again if I was in the area

It has been over a year and a half since I have been to discovery place kids in Huntersville . The yearly membership has increased from ard $120 to over $200. It is dingy, dirty and rundown. I would not reccomend returning until after the rennovations scheduled to begin in 2027.

We had an amazing time here today. Lots of fun things for kiddos to do. Huge safety concern about the stairs on the second floor though. Theres no gate preventing small children from bolting and falling down them. Today my 2 year old along with another 2 year old almost fell down those steps. Small children run so fast you can sneeze and they are off in another location. Hopefully this issue can be fixed. Dont feel safe taking mine there again until then.

It’s a good place for kids, just don’t understand why parents that don’t really play need to pay more 🤦🏻‍♀️ also I think they could improve on putting more stuff.

Wing Haven is a charming enclosed-brick garden and bird sanctuary in Charlotte, North Carolina. Established between 1927 and 1930 by Elizabeth Clarkson, it was designed to provide nesting sites, food, and water for birds and wildlife. The serene spot offers ambling pathways, landscaped greens, flowers, fountains, and various bird species. It's an ideal place for bird enthusiasts or anyone seeking a peaceful retreat. Additionally, visitors can enjoy educational programs and purchase plants from the gardens.
Beautiful place with a lovely story. I really loved walking around and getting to see all the different types of plants and flowers. My daughter loved it so much from her field trip last week that she wanted us all to see it.

I honestly cannot believe that I haven't reviewed this place before now because I've been there so many times that I have lost count. This is one of the best little pockets of nature and beauty in Charlotte city that I have ever visited. I have bought several of my own plants from here from the nursery when they do their sales. I have considered volunteering from how much I love going here, this is one of my favorite nature sanctuaries in Charlotte and if it ever goes away I might actually cry. I usually forget to take pictures when I visit so I have included the picture of a fern that I have taken as well as the information chart for the roses that I bought from the nursery which are growing amazingly in my yard.

What a wonderful little place with outdoor gardens. I’m sure it’s beautiful in spring when all the plants bloom. The outdoor area is great, offering plenty of space and shade during hot days. You can’t beat it if you just want to look at a garden and visit home and go to Noah’s Carolina, which is good for kids and adults, especially when you're tired. It works out well. They also have another small 1-acre plot down the road that is free with your paid admission.

This is a cute little place to visit. The fee is $10 per person and they take credit card or cash. We were greeted by a lovely lady and she told us about the gardens. We received our map and started out exploring. We did not see too many flowers or birds at the time we went, but the place is beautiful and peaceful. There are benches along the path to sit if you need to. A few things to note: I use a cane and the pavement bricks are uneven in certain places and since it had rained earlier, it was very slick. Also, it would really not be good for walkers or wheelchairs in my opinion. There are 3 steps to get into the house with handrails. I am sure if you let them know they can let you in the side gate, so you do not have to walk the steps. A nice place to visit if you are in Charlotte and have a few hours.

The gardens dont seem to be maintained. Weeds and not many blooms. We did come in the fall so its towards the end of growing season but it was quite disappointing. Also, with the name Bird Sanctuary, you'd think there would be birds. But...nope. I bet it would be a pretty walk through earlier in the season.
Naomi N — Google review
It was a very beautiful garden, very peaceful and even talked to other nice visitors. Going into the houses and gardens were like walking back in time. They really work hard to make this place a wonderful experience. Lots of history and make sure to ask the wonderful ladies questions and listen to what they have to say about the gardens it's very interesting. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping, we even saw a bunny. Be sure to walk 10 houses down to view the other gardens, they will tell you all about it.
Rebecca — Google review
Gardens are magical places; very peaceful and quiet with the exception of the beautiful sound coming from the birds & the wind moving through the leaves. In 1926 the Clarksons moved from Texas to Charlotte, they purchased a house with no trees, so they decided to make a garden and put food for the birds, and suddenly all kinds of species started visiting their place. It made me cry seeing the video of the couple who left a wonderful place to visit and spend time at. Their love for birds & all sorts of creatures still remains in that garden. It’s a spectacular place to visit for both adults and children.

The museum offers ample photo opportunities for families and individuals, with the friendly staff available to assist in capturing memorable moments. Despite its size, the museum provides an enjoyable experience for all ages, making it a must-visit attraction in Charlotte.
Fun & Interactive. For Adults or families. Even w/ it being crowded we got to see and experience it all and didn’t have to wait long! So many interesting illustrations. Awesome photos ops and great laughs! Cool spot

I visited the museum on Labor Day with my family. We made sure to buy our tickets online in advance, and that was a much better process. When we entered, we were able to scan and get a brief tour of the museum before exploring on our own. I have been to other branches of this museum around the world, and this future some of these similar exhibits that the other ones do. The museum is well laid out with lots to see in a compact space. There are several rooms that are very cool and there are many illusions and they are explained as well. There are lockers to place your stuff and there are also bathrooms right near the entrance which is very convenient. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I recommend this to everyone. The only thing that would be nice would be in the future to expand the museum to include another room of illusions to add as well.
Brody H — Google review
This place was way too crowded. I am not claustrophobic, but it made me feel that way. It lacked sufficient space to move around and fully enjoy the exhibits. The museum is best for parents with older children. I would also highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, as they sell out quickly.
Aleia E — Google review
The experience was truly, truly lackluster. Its one level and you can literally view it within 5 minutes. We kept circling the same area, looking for more to engage in. We left feeling incredibly let down. I feel the charge to enter didn't meet the experience they offer at all.
Deidra — Google review
There were 4 of us who visited the museum on a Sunday morning. The price is a little high but for us it was well worth it to see my teenagers having fun and being totaly engaged the whole time. We HIGHLY recommend calling ahead to see about large groups or check their web page to see availability (they have entry times every 20 minutes and it shows x left out of 50). It takes about 1.5 hours to really enjoy the exhibits, art and Illusions. It wasn't very busy when we were there so we got to spend a lot of time perfecting our pictures and really playing around with the exhibits. The tunnel was by far the trippiest thing I've experienced in a while. We walked through a bunch of times trying different things and it just got trippier each time. The building wall was also very cool, trying to find different ways to dangle was fun. The staff were really helpful in explaining how the exhibits work and the would take pictures if you asked. As it hot busier towards the end of the tour we noticed everyone was really patient with each person/group ahead of them. Most families were helping other families take pics too.
Dawn P — Google review
Fun place to visit on a rainy day. Call ahead to make sure they don't have any big groups scheduled. Took my 4 year old grandson and we spent a little more than an hour with the exhibits. Cost me $65 for two adult tickets with a military discount. It was a fun experience, but a lot of money for a small venue. They do not validate for parking so I wound up paying another $15 to park in the deck next to the museum.

Such a fun and unique experience!! The illusions themselves are shocking, but the staff in Charlotte make our experience so much fun. They helped with staging the pictures and gave so many tips!! Thanks guys!

Sooooo, Do NOT go ALONE! Unless you are a content creator and going with a tripod or at least a selfie stick it is difficult to enjoy yourself. It could have been a complete waste of time and money if other people were not there to help me take pictures, pose and have some fun. It was just an okay experience. I would not go alone again. Ray’s Splash Planet is the ultimate destination for water fun in Charlotte. This indoor water park offers over 29,000 square feet of aquatic excitement, including slides, inner tube rides, and a whirlpool area. The facility also houses a fitness center and an aerobics and dance studio on the second floor. With options for all ages and swimming levels, from toddler-friendly pools to deeper areas with water basketball, there's something for everyone.
This place is amazing! We are from out of state, but if we weren’t we would be here all the time! My kids (almost 11 and 7) had an amazing time and played for several hours. But, I REALLY want to give a shout out to the lifeguards. Every single one of them are watching and supervising like hawks. They gave kind and patient corrections when needed but were overall just extremely helpful. One of them helped my son at the bottom of the slide find the stairs. Others assisted all of the kids with getting in and out of the lazy river and into their rafts and even holding rafts so they can be close to their friends. The front desk help was extremely friendly and helpful as well. Overall, A+ staff and experience— thank you!

Visited the park with my nieces on a Thursday morning at opening. We arrived a little after 10am and the life guards were setting up the area. The staff was very friendly, I want to highlight that they were young adults but extremely courteous, engaging and attentive. They were not distracted and socializing they were all focused on the water and the customers safety. I love before we entered the pool the nice women at the front addressed my nieces directly to give them the safety rules. The park is really cute and bathrooms are clean. We spent about 2 hours here, the kids 6 and 10 y/o loved it. With your admission you can remain in the area for the entire time they are open. Really great experience and would definetly recommend.

This place is awesome. Today was our first visit with our 9 year old. It was pretty packed, but we expected that. The parking lot is TINY. There is lots of seating for adults and lots for kids to do. While my husband played with our kid, I spent some time watching the lifeguards. As a lifeguard when I was younger myself, the guards here really impressed me. They were attentive, constantly moving, and their checks when rotating positions were very thorough. It made me feel much more comfortable knowing they've got great guards here. I highly recommend this place and I wish we had discovered it sooner!

Didn't know this place existed. Went early saturday and it was nice. Started getting very busy around 12. Great place for a bday party. Slides, lazy river, whirlpool, regular pool with volleyball, little kids play area.
Samantha R — Google review
The staff was great at the welcome desk. Informative and friendly. The life guards were incredibly vigilant and all over the whistles to keep the kids in line. I actually appreciated their attentiveness. The issues I had was an overall lack of parking. I parked up near the apartments where I got a ticket because I didn’t see the sign about residential parking only. There was standing room only around the pool as families were putting towels and bags on entire sections of chairs claiming them for hours. The lockers need your own personal lock which was a bummer as there was no good place to put your valuables and we didn’t have a lock. The pool is smaller than other community centers and the cost was a bit pricey for visitors from out of state. $35 for 2 kids and an adult. Overall the kids had fun and the staff kept it safe.

Visited this splash park for a Birthday party… kids had fun and tired. Good for kids below 10 years.
Harish K — Google review
This place is VERY WELL managed. I’m super paranoid about my kids and swimming. Which is why they’ve all been taught to be strong swimmers but I STILL worry. Not here. They have so many lifeguards who are 100% on their jobs. A kids not splashing in the wrong direction without them seeing. And as a parent, I really appreciate that. I could actually see me buying swim stamps for my kids and just sitting in the chairs by the pools to watch. And I would literally not do that anywhere else! There’s locker rooms with showers, as well as 2 or3 family bathroom/changing rooms. Theres discount tickets for county residents so make sure to bring ID! They’re reasonably priced myself and 3 children went for around $35. There was no time limit either. They fit a lot of fun into a smaller space here! Theres a larger slide, deeper pool with basketball hoops, and a fun current tub that spins you in a circle! as well as an entire small children area with age appropriate slides. They’re all interconnected except for the small lazy river and big slide. They provide life jackets of all sizes as well. My only 2 complaints really aren’t negatives on the facilities itself. 1. Would be how massively busy it always seems to be on weekends. We went the minute it opened on last weekend and it already had a line forming. Since we were early though we did enjoy about 30 min before it was completely packed. By the time we left people were waiting to take our parking space bc there were no spots left in the smallish parking lot. BUT I’ve also been during the week when there’s absolutely no one but us there. So I highly suggest going during a non busy time. 2. Would be theft in cars that must be taking place. There’s a big sign as you walk in that says DO NOT leave valuables in your car. There are lockers, I’ve never purchased a key or even been offered to purchase one, they probably don’t offer them but Id suggest bringing your own or leaving what you can at home while bringing a bag to keep in the pool area on/under the chairs. It’s all one open space so I’d imagine theft is kept to a minimum inside the swim area, I’ve never had a problem inside or even in the parking lot but I thought I’d mention it. Some other info: They have other events at rays during the off season. Like day camps and other children’s activities, there’s also a large playground that sits beside the building. And a little free library box to take and leave books! They have Extremely affordable birthday party packages too! For up to 10 kids splash pass with pizza/cake/goodie bags all included for only $200!!! And an option for just the 10 splash passes with party room but you provide the rest for $150!!

The Children's Theatre of Charlotte is a modern theater that offers professional shows, classes, and summer camps for kids. Their mission is to provide exceptional theatre experiences for young audiences and encourage them to explore the wonders of the world. The organization presents diverse experiences through professional productions in Charlotte and on regional tours, as well as education programs such as summer camps and creative drama classes.
The staff at the theater was very nice and helpful during our visit. We were there to see The Diary of A Whimpy Kid. I understand the temperature can't be too warm because they want the actors to be comfortable but during this visit it was extremely cold. We were entertained and engaged and this kept our mind off of it at times but it was a little uncomfortable for the kids as well as the parents.

My daughter was about seven (7) years old when she and I enjoyed her first theatrical experience at the Charlotte Children's Theater. Thirty-five years later, she and her children joined me to witness the "magic" of the lively performance, "The Three Little Pigs." What a legacy! Many thanks to all who work so diligently to "make it happen" for young people in this city. Also, a huge "shout out" to the Box Office Agent with the ultra-pleasant smile who was so kind to assist me with the purchase of my tickets. We shall return!
Smith S — Google review
Come here for the shows but got to give it a 3 star due to safety concerns. The balcony section of the theater does not have adequate safety measures to decrease/prevent the chances of children reaching over and falling below. I have watched children numerous times reaching for bubbles or being overly excited at an act, and half of their bodies are hanging over. This is very dangerous. Love this place but this needs to be addressed before giving it a 5 star.

My kids are now 10 and 8. This is our 4th visit for a play and 10 years coming here. I highly recommended it for parents with children of all ages. They have a lot of great plays. The Imaginon not only has a great location, but you can arrive by train with your stroller and avoid the hazard of finding parking. They are located across the street from a great market where you can have coffee and lunch. The library has a great selection of books and activities. This is a worthy day trip and is free. :).

The facility features expansive galleries and various visitor amenities such as learning spaces, shops, and dining areas.
Although I have lived in Charlotte three separate times and have visited many times while not living there, I had never been to the Mint Museum until this week. I was pleasantly surprised. Their Contemporary Art gallery is pretty impressive. There are so many works that I simply loved. I’ll be back to visit the collection again. The one thing the museum absolutely has to do is print a purchasable guide / catalog of its permanent collection. Not having one is a lost revenue opportunity.

If you simply want to give something new a try and you're curious to learn more about art. Without a doubt, you should visit the Mint Museum. I visited on a Wednesday when entrance was free. Learning about various cultures and both local & global artists is a pleasant way to broaden your horizons. If you come, you won't be let down.

I really enjoy the different exhibits of the mint museum has to offer. More recently I've been to the Annie Leibowitz exhibit. That was fantastic and really was neat to get a glimpse into the Rolling Stone photographer and overall landscape and people photographer. And then just a couple weeks ago I went to a really funky cool event for local designers with a '70s '80s and '90s dance party with fashion show pop-ups. What a cool way to get people to come to the museum! And also I learned that they're doing this really neat event through August where every Wednesday is wine night in the gift shop, as if I needed another reason to go to the gift shop. I really enjoy getting to see art. I really enjoy the layout of the mint museum and I look forward to seeing many new exhibits there this year and in the future. It's a definite must go to if you need a little art in your life!

Excellent experience. They always have something going on! This time went for exhibits and wine and for a whole fashion show! I really love it here!

Was a nice experience overall, the mint museum contains all styles of art works of different time and themes, the architecture design is aesthetical as well. It was not easy to find parking, but one of the good things is that it opens until late so you would have enough time to visit.

Located in Uptown, Charlotte, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is housed in an elegant 4-story building that boasts natural light. The museum showcases mid-20th-century modern art and is part of the Levine Center for the Arts. Visitors can also explore nearby parks such as Romare Bearden Park for stunning city views and charming waterfalls.
I’m really glad I decided to visit the Museum of Modern Art. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly staff member at the front desk. She kindly explained which galleries were open and what I could explore. Since it was Sunday, I was lucky enough to get in for free—definitely a nice surprise! However, the fourth floor was unfortunately closed, which was a bit disappointing, as I would have loved to see the full exhibition. Despite that, I truly enjoyed my visit. The museum has a great selection of modern art, and the atmosphere is inspiring. If you appreciate contemporary art, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’ll definitely come back again to see what I missed!

Enjoyed our visit to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art! We visited on a Wednesday and the entrance was free. “Every Wednesday from 5–9 PM, enjoy free admission and live entertainment at four rotating venues: The Mint Museum, The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, The Harvey B.” Collection: The museum's collection primarily comes from the Bechtler family, who donated over 1,400 works by major figures of 20th-century modernism, including artists such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti, and Andy Warhol.

Good art museum with an eclectic collection of modern art modalities. Friendly staff and nice views of the city on an upstairs patio. Close to the Mint museum for a full a full afternoon of art discovery.

Wow, this museum was pretty dope. I love how quiet and peaceful it was. They have 2 floors of amazing art. They offer u coffee and water. 10 bucks a person.

The museum if featuring the work of Icelandic artist Hildur Asgeirsdottir Jonsson, born 1963 she works mainly with silk threads and dyes. The museum is a 36,500-square-foot building with space dedicated to the exhibition of mid-20th-century modern art. I, found out from one of the staff, that it is part of the new Levine Center for the Arts in Uptown. The museum building itself is an impressive architectural piece designed by architect Mario Botta. Look up Botto for more on the inspiration behind this building! Leave me a comment below, if you like my post! “Do not leave for tomorrow, what you can do today!”

This is such a cool spot downtown to take a break and see some art. It is a smaller museum than some but still a gem in the city. A joy to behold!

Was very happy to see multiple Picasso pieces. Admission was very reasonable. As with anything in that part of town, parking is far from ideal.

Our visit was 17 February 2024 after my Hot Chocolate 5K Run. Although sunny outside it was breezy and cold. We went to this museum, which was good. Some unique works, with 4 floors, stairs & elevator. Staff were helpful, polite, and pleasant. Spent about 45 minutes and loved the big mirror statue outside. Something different.

Hiking Trails
The Little Sugar Creek Greenway offers 19 miles of paved paths for hiking and biking, following the charming creek through the heart of the city. With connections to parks and picturesque views, this popular greenway spans 30 kilometers when completed. The project, conceived in 1968, aims to restore natural areas while revitalizing urban spaces along the sparkling stream.
It's truly incredible to have a nature trail that runs directly under and through an entire city. You might expect to see polluted waters or scattered trash, but instead, it's remarkably well-maintained. Every few steps reveals something new: a statue, an information board, a scenic overlook. Each one is worth pausing to admire. I highly recommend it for everyone, whether you're walking with a stroller, riding a bike, or bringing your dog along. It's clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully cared for.
Michael H — Google review
I went in the mid afternoon, and it was not busy. The trail is paved and there are not a ton of views along the way, but there are some really pretty flowers, the creek is nice, And I think there were some basketball and or tennis courts and playgrounds nearby.

Nice park, cool little trail. I did the 11 - 14 mile section and felt very safe, quaint, clean and friendly. I wanted to go all the way to freedom park but the weather looked dicey

This is a wonderful hike running from Cordelia Park right up to i-485, essentially traversing the city of Charlotte. What’s wonderful is that you can choose to hike a part of it with multiple entrances(and parking is available at those entrances) and still be rewarded for the spectacular views of the Queen City. We did the part of the hike near Metropolitan avenue in uptown Charlotte on a precariously sunny Saturday morning. This section of the hike begins near Metropolitan avenue, and some street parking is available near the entrance. The hike itself is quite easy, and along the hike you’ll find various plants, statues of people who contributed to the growth of Charlotte and also about the sculptors who designed those statues. It was quite intriguing to know about Charlotte’s history. The Little Sugar Creek runs alongside the trail and is a nice companion on the hike. It was good to read about the preservation efforts ongoing for the creatures in the creek. It’s a well-maintained trail and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a hike or a run or a bike ride in Charlotte.

This review refers to the Greenway section next to the Atrium healthcare. This last puzzle of the greenway has been under construction for a couple of years finally opened last month. You hear the birds chirping and the life going on at different pace while you are surrounded by greenery and gentle flowing creek. There are construction workers going over the bridges and people biking along the pathway. You will see the massive expansion of Atrium healthcare under construction. After a while, you do not get any sense of being in the center of the city as the traffic dies down. The sounds and sites of urban Charlotte fadeaway as you walk past the Atrium Health medical center and enter the freedom park area. Overall it is a great natural asset accessible for all of uptown and neighborhoods.

Had a great time on the Greenway It is a very pleasant and beautiful walk Really well maintained and landscaped Our favorite was the brook under the bridge and small waterfalls scattered on the side

We bought a couple Velotric e-bikes and searched for a fun place to ride in Charlotte, Little Sugar creek allows us to go from the beginning trail head right into the City of Charlotte. The bike trails are all smooth pavement, from one end and into the city round trip is 36 miles, so much exploring and fun. Highly recommend

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Charlotte, The Mint Museum – Randolph stands as a beacon of international art and culture. As you wander through its thoughtfully curated galleries, you'll encounter a diverse array of stunning artworks including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and furniture.
Lovely winter day filled with 2 hours of art. There was a 50% off holiday themed items in the museum gift shop. There was also jewelry for sale that went along with the jewelry exhibit, very cool. The photography exhibit was inspired. The nicest surprise was all the pieces from Peru, such a beautiful collection.

My husband and I got married at the Mint Museum on Randolph on May 10, 2025 and had a great experience! We were looking for a laid back, elegant venue to get married and this was the perfect place! Our wedding was totally outdoors, on the front terrace and front lawn and turned out more beautiful than I had imagined! Alison was great to work with and always provided us with the information we needed in a timely manner. The event ran smoothly and we had the best time! Would highly recommend touring if you’re engaged and looking for venues! -all photos were taken by The Nelsons Photo

My family and I were genuinely excited to visit the original Mint Museum, but our experience was sadly tainted by what felt like clear racial profiling. From the moment we arrived, we were followed closely by a security guard named Muhammad. Not just monitored—from gallery to gallery, he trailed us so persistently and obviously that it made us feel targeted and uncomfortable in a space that should be welcoming to all. Eventually, I asked him to take a photo of us just to break the awkward tension. No one should have to “prove” their innocence or comfort a security guard in order to enjoy art with their family. As a Black family, we’re tired of being treated with suspicion instead of respect. We came to enjoy culture, not be surveilled like criminals. This kind of experience is not unique to us, and that’s exactly the problem. Racial profiling—subtle or not—is unacceptable. We hope the Mint Museum reflects on this and makes serious changes to ensure that all visitors, regardless of race, feel equally welcome and respected.

We came here as one of our stops on a day trip to Charlotte. There was plenty of parking. We purchased a membership when we were there as it was a money saver after the second time we go. There was quite a variety of exhibits, and it's an easy walk through. You can take as much or as little time as you want to enjoy this museum. Highly recommend!

As a Charlotte native I’ve been to this museum countless times as a child on field trips, but it definitely hits different as an adult when you can actually appreciate the art in front of you. I had the pleasure to attend a special ticketed event showcasing NC wines and chefs. It was truly an amazing experience and so much fun. Each winery had a special dish paired with their wines and everything married so well. And while sipping, got to walk around the museum exploring the exhibits. Whether you go just for a regular visit or for a special event, I think anyone will enjoy this beautiful museum.
Cynthia R — Google review
I attended wild Wednesday with my children on 6/25/25, expecting a safe, inclusive experience like any parent would. Instead, I was racially profiled and followed around by a staff member who is darker than me. I was approached/questioned/treated in a way that was clearly different from how others were being treated, and the only thing that set me apart was the color of my skin. This experience was not only upsetting for me but confusing and heartbreaking for my children to witness. What was supposed to be a fun, positive family outing turned into a moment that reminded us how far we still have to go when it comes to equality and basic respect. Events for children should reflect the values of inclusion, fairness, and kindness. I hope the organizers and staff take this seriously and provide anti-bias training to prevent this from happening to anyone else. No family should be made to feel like they don’t belong.

The Charlotte Museum of History offers a variety of experiences for history enthusiasts. Visitors can explore restored Colonial home and grounds through docent-led or cell-phone-guided tours. The museum also hosts 'Thursdays at the Museum' events, featuring programs on rotating historic topics such as Scotch-Irish history and Outlander. Additionally, visitors can learn about the Catawba Indians, early settlers, and the shaping of modern-day Charlotte in exhibits focused on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
Went here for the Bridgerton Ball and it was great! Easy to park, we didn’t wait too long, and there were plenty of interesting nooks and crannies. I would love to come back and have a museum day here. Katy Werlin is the artist who made these incredible historical gowns.

The Charlotte Museum of History was a really cool surprise, I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I went with some family visiting from out of town and we all ended up spending way more time there than planned. The exhibits are well done and the staff was super knowledgeable, especially during the tour of the old Hezeiah Alexander house. You can tell they really care about preserving local history. It’s a great way to learn more about Charlotte’s roots, and honestly I’d go back again just to catch the parts I missed the first time.

Aubrey S — Google review
The Charlotte Museum of History in Eastern Charlotte was a great learning experience about the history of Charlotte and the state of North Carolina. You can allocate 2 hours to the museum, if you want to explore everything in detail. Their last admission is at 4pm every day when they’re open, so be mindful of that. There are mainly two sections to the museum—the first part is the outside where you can find the Hezekiah Alexander’s Rock House, the kitchen, and the spring house, including a few other structures. I appreciated that over the years, the museum has tried to maintain the originality of the structures both from outside as well as inside. The Rock House is the oldest building in the Mecklenburg County! I didn’t know that. It’s an easy walk to explore all the areas outside. There’s the freedom bell too which makes for a good photo spot. There’s a bit of history to the bell as well. The inside of the museum is spread across two floors with the lower floor having pictures related to Charlotte history over the years, an auditorium(for events I presume), and other significant artifacts and dioramas showcasing the events and people that shaped Charlotte. The second floor had a cartoon exhibit, and a section called “Charlotte Gems” which showcased the important people in Charlotte’s history. It was an enriching experience to learn about both. Cartooning indeed can be quite powerful drawing inspiration from the world affairs, and in turn influencing the masses it reaches to. The exhibit shed light on the prominent cartoon artists of Charlotte. I wish there was more information in the museum about the slaves and the Native American people who shaped Charlotte, but the information is scant, not because it’s the museum’s fault, but there’s literally scant information available about them. For instance, the information about the slaves is only available through the writings of Hezekiah, who owned them. As accurate as those writings may be, they still cannot completely capture their lives. The museum continues to try and uncover new information about Charlotte’s history, which is wonderful. Overall, I highly recommend the museum in case you’re a history buff like me, and even if you aren’t, you still can find something of interest here. The staff is polite, and does their best to help. There’s a discount available for students, seniors and children. In case you want to do a rock house tour, that’s available too for an additional fee. Check out their website for the latest prices. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the museum wasn’t busy. There’s a big parking lot outside, so parking shouldn’t be a problem.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a chain of indoor trampoline parks that offers various activities such as freestyle bouncing, dodgeball, and fitness programs. It's known for being the world's first indoor trampoline park and provides entertainment for the whole family. The park features open jump areas, foam pits, SkySlam courts, ultimate dodgeball, and skyrobics classes for parents. Visitors can enjoy a fun-filled experience with friendly staff members who provide excellent service.
Sky Zone is one of my son’s favorite places in town. He has a membership and absolutely loves spending hours jumping, climbing, and exploring all the different play zones. As a parent, I really like that I can sit in the café area with my laptop, get some work done, and still keep an eye on him. The staff is always kind and helpful, and last year we even had his birthday party here it was stress-free and a lot of fun. It’s definitely one of the best spots for kids to burn off energy in a safe and fun environment.

1. Came for fun, got policed harder than an airport security line. 2. Apparently parenting my kid is against the rules here if I’m a “observer” good thing the grip socks will save us all. 3. Signed a waiver, but apparently also signed away our rights to enjoy ourselves. 4. Employees treat fun like it’s contraband confiscated immediately. 5. This place proves grip socks have more authority than parents.
Jeffrey — Google review
We were just there for a birthday party today. I didn’t have my kids birthday party there because of the pricing and now that I’ve been there, I am so glad I didn’t. First of all I was explaining that I had my toddler with me and he was not included in the party so I was trying to explain my other son was there for a party and instead of letting me finish she interrupted me and said what’s the name? First that is what got me upset. Then she tells me to go sign my other son in the bday party area for his friends party and told them to give my toddler the same type of wrist band since they are together and I booked my toddlers jump at the same time of the party. Well then I tell the next counter this and the girl gives a dirty look. She was annoyed at the other worked but still. The kids start jumping and everything is fine. Staff was monitoring etc. the bday party starts and the person working the party is MISERABLE. She rolled her eyes multiple times didn’t smile. The pizza was not done in time so we had cake first, then we had to wait around for the pizza and then we had to wait around for the cotton candy. We were in the party area for an hour just waiting for skyzone. Then the worker had the worst attitude. I honestly want to complain for the parents because I know they spent a lot of money with totally unacceptable service.
Heather P — Google review
With the exception of the colorful hair manager, most of the staff needs a major training in customer service, the guy manager speaks to kids harshly, the girls at the register clearly have a different tone with one type of customer, she was good with me, but was clearly different with my white friends. Then they are so strict with no food or drinks on the plane from outside or on the jumpy area, but people were clearly doing what they wanted, but the ones they wanted to stop were being spoken to rudely. Then the cleaning of the facility, not sure if this hours to managers or owners. Our kids are having fun with good activity and are breathing heavy, I looked up and saw this air return, they shows the air quality in this plane. See picture attached, please change your AC vents on a monthly in such a commercial place where the jumps great more dust.
Honest R — Google review
They’ve sucked ALL the fun out of this place. Arrived, with jumping socks (wrong brand, tho we’ve paid for these in the past) and had to pay $12 for 2 pair. The socks are awful. Your feet grip on the bottom, but it’s impossible to get traction INSIDE the sock, so they’re more dangerous than plain socks. Turned them inside out and got accosted by a worker. $26 + $6 each, plus $0.50 cash for a locker, and we were harassed by employees constantly. I was just trying to help my 6 year old and keep him comfortable around other kids. “1 at a time” on the hoop while handing him a ball. “Stand up” while sitting on the side padding a moment to chat with him and his friend. Worst $70 I’ve spent in a while. Going back to Big Air on Sardis. This place sucks. Sorry :(
A L — Google review
Came here with my kids All employees are nasty and rude I had an observer band and not “Skyzone “ socks and they wouldn’t allow me to help my 3 year old do anything until I bought a band as a jumper I couldn’t stand on any attractions without having the manager treating me like a criminal while I was simply trying to help my toddlers Bathrooms were nasty Attractions were falling apart The foam pit and obscene images picked into 99% of these blocks I have spent ALOT of money here to be treated like a vagrant Don’t take your family here
Blair G — Google review
We had a wonderful time!! I was nervous with all the negative reviews but I'm so glad we went! Melanie at the front desk was wonderful and so helpful! Yes, you have to wear a pair of their socks but they are $4 and have 4 cute designs for kids to pick from. I did not jump and was able to just follow my 4 year old around while staying off the mats and didn't have to pay. Lots to do!! Went at noon on a Thursday and wasn't very crowded. All of the staff was so kind! Excited to come back and try toddler time!
Bethany S — Google review
This was by far the worst experience I’ve had in a very long time. I took my 4-year-old and 1-year-old to jump, and it was a complete waste of time and money. We paid full price for my 1-year-old and for my own ticket solely so I could help her on the trampoline — but staff wouldn’t allow me to even hold her hands while she jumped. On top of that, you’re not allowed to be close to your children, sit down, stand in certain areas, or even breathe the “wrong” way without being corrected. The staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience just for being there. They were rude and unhelpful from start to finish, which completely ruined the outing for my kids. I recommending checking out Big Air Trampoline park in Matthews or Urban Air Trampoline Park in Cornelius. Avoid this place like the plague.

Charlotte Knights game was a blast! Thirsty Thursday was fun with $2 Sahlens hotdogs and $6 craft beers from local breweries. Wicked Weed brewery was our favorite with a good sour and wheat beer. Affordable tickets, great City views, safe area. We walked to and from the game from our Airbnb.

Other than getting rained on, it was a really nice field with incredible city views. Parking was easy and accessible. Ticket prices were horrendously high compared to other parks we visited this year. The fees and taxes were really high too.

While in Charlotte we went to Charlotte Knights baseball game. We have been to a couple other minor league games and we thought we would try this. The field and stadium itself did not seem as big as other minor league ballparks I have been too. The atmosphere was very good and the fans were very enthusiastic. The food was very good. I had chicken on a stick and my daughter had ribbon fries. For a minor league game it was very well attended. If I were in the area again, I would definitely want to go to another game.

Neat park. Got a torrential downpour around 5:30, but we were all offered the Paper Mill Pub as a safe place to wait for the gates to open on Harry Potter night. They've done a lot with the space. The lawn behind the outfield concourse is a nice touch. Lawns in the outfield are hit and miss. I kind of wish I had gotten homerun porch tickets or diamond club seats to fully experience the place with my family. The Knights organization did a great job with the Harry Potter theme execution. The announced delayed start time was hit and the team removing the tarp and getting the field ready did a very good job.

I recently attended the Light the Knights Festival at Truist Field, which featured a holiday market, ice skating, and tubing. The general entry was only $12, but activities like tubing and ice skating had additional costs. The displays, photo zones, and beautiful lights against the Charlotte skyline were stunning. I enjoyed the hot chocolate, candy apple, and chicken on a stick, which were around $30. Overall, I enjoyed the festive atmosphere and would recommend it, but perhaps on a less busy night!

Nestled in the heart of Charlotte, NC, Romare Bearden Park is a delightful urban retreat that spans over 5.4 acres and pays homage to the celebrated African-American artist. This vibrant park features stunning gardens, natural landscapes, and an amphitheater that hosts various community events and cultural programs, including live music. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of the city's skyline alongside charming waterfalls that illuminate beautifully at night.
It's such a spacious park. I love that it has a huge grassy area right beside the Knights Stadium. You can have a picnic there. People sometimes are out playing with their dogs or just great fun watching the game from the sidelines. They have nice flowers and garden all around the park. They have a waterfall with colorful lights in the background where the kids usually love to run around and play. Just a great spot to be in, if you want to be in the city but away from the hussle and bustle of the restaurants nearby. Of course, it's in uptown, so parking is non-existent unless you are lucky enough to snag a side street parking.

Adding to its appeal, the surrounding area boasts a fantastic selection of restaurants, making it a great spot to enjoy a delicious meal before or after exploring this lovely urban oasis. Romare Bearden Park is one of my favorite spots in Uptown Charlotte. It’s beautifully designed with open green lawns, interactive fountains, and public art that gives it a vibrant yet relaxing vibe. Whether you’re here for a walk, a picnic, or just to unwind, it always feels refreshing. The views of the skyline are fantastic, especially at sunset. There's often live music, food trucks, or small festivals on the weekends, so there’s always something going on. It’s clean, safe, and perfect for families, couples, or solo visitors. The location is also ideal—right by restaurants, museums, and the stadium. A perfect example of urban space done right.

McDowell Nature Preserve, one of Mecklenburg County's first parks, has evolved from a 136-acre lakeside park to become a prominent natural asset in Charlotte. Spanning 1108 acres, it offers diverse landscapes and habitats for hikers, bird-watchers, and nature enthusiasts. The preserve features the McDowell Nature Center with butterfly gardens, bird-feeding stations, animal exhibits, and a gift shop.
Beautiful nature preserve in the Charlotte area. Enjoyable to go down by the lake and sit on the benches to get some sun or walk around on the paths. First time going and also noticed many different hiking trails.

Its a very well maintained set of trails. There's easy to moderate hikes. I tried the Shady Trail and Kingfisher Trail. Because there is rich forest cover its usually not very humid and there's a lot of breeze. Would suggest to carry alot of water and it isn't available anywhere but the nature center. Overall a nice place for a weekend hike. Saw a bunch of people swim, kayak and boat as well.

McDowell Nature Preserve is one of Charlotte’s hidden gems. Tucked along the shores of Lake Wylie, it offers beautiful forested trails, clean campsites, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The trails are well-marked and vary in difficulty, making it great for both casual walkers and more seasoned hikers. The views of the lake from certain spots are stunning, especially at sunset! The preserve is very well-maintained, with restrooms, a nature center, and even boat access. We especially loved the quiet, shaded areas—perfect for a picnic or just unwinding. The nature center is small but educational, and kids will enjoy exploring it. Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk, a weekend camping trip, or just time to reconnect with nature, McDowell has something for everyone. Highly recommend bringing a pair of binoculars for birdwatching too!
Stuti G — Google review
Beautiful views, a lot of sitting areas, a number of nooks people were using to hang out by the lake, fish, or just enjoy the views. The trails need to be a little more well maintained because there were several low hanging trees and worn-out markers. Some picnic tables could use a good power washing or cleaning. The summer hours at the preserve stated it was open until 8 pm, but online it states 5pm.

My favorite park/nature preserve. It’s peaceful on the trails and they are clearly marked. The group instructors and helpful and kind. Many activities are planned throughout the year for kids and adults. Camping is good for a couple of nights. The campground is very clean. You do hear some of the road noise. It’s a great spot to visit for fishing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, or just hanging out. Don’t miss out on the sunrise and evening kayak events hosted by staff!

I just wanted somewhere peaceful to sit, without constant humming of traffic but not too far from home. It was so beautiful this morning. There was a light rain, but the sun was still shining so it was just perfect if you enjoy the rain like I do! Very clean, very safe vibe. I hope you enjoy these photos and I hope you will visit!

Quiet and relaxed( especially waterfront dock). If you’re stressed out, then come here. You won’t be disappointed. Numbers of walking/hiking trails, picnic areas etc. you can do fishing in the lake as well. Pet friendly. Overall a very good place for family camping. You can just sit by the lake and enjoy the serenity. I wish I could be there during summer and fall seasons. Will visit again. Parking and restrooms are available.

Beautiful nature preserve, lots of trails in the woods and a short hike to Lake Wylie. Great camping experience and nice clean showers. We've spent about 6 weekends there now and still have yet to discover all of the trails! Management is kind and loving. Thank you Miss kathy! This is definitely a great place for couples or families to enjoy the great outdoors!

We had an excellent time!!! I booked the Mega Party Package and it was absolutely amazing. The kids had a great time. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Especially Corrine!! She was super nice, helpful, welcoming, friendly and passionate about her job. She checked on us throughout the entire time we were there. Corrine also set up our entire party room with our decorations. She truly made a super chaotic day become smooth and easy.

Highly recommend! The staff were excellent, well informed, and helpful. I brought my 4 year old and he was very entertained (and very busy!) the whole time. Plenty of floor space to push the baby in the stroller alongside him, too. We went at 11am on Saturday and there were about 2-3 other families there- very spacious and clean, with lots to do! I think this would be a great option for a kids birthday of any age!

Visiting DEFY Trampoline Park was an exceptional experience. The facility offers a wide variety of engaging activities including jumping, bouncing, and climbing—suitable for guests of all ages. The staff were courteous, attentive, and ensured a safe and enjoyable environment throughout. Overall, it was a well-organized and thoroughly enjoyable outing. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit to Defy Charlotte. I brought my kids and nieces to jump, and while they had fun, there were a few frustrations. After paying, I was told that all four kids had to remove their jumping socks from other parks — even though they didn’t have any logos or names on them. It was frustrating, especially since I noticed several people checking in after us wearing socks from other places, and even a few kids without grippy socks at all. The floor in the café area was also very sticky, which wasn’t pleasant. It would be nice if there were some healthier snack options available. On a positive note, the staff members we interacted with were friendly and polite. Edit: I forgot to mention we saw this in the ladies bathroom. Looks like a get place for mold.

The cancelation process for the membership is daunting. I submitted a cancelation request & was charged in that same moment for 31 more days of membership. I requested a refund because additional membership is not what I wanted. It is not being used. No one will respond to me. Beware of memberships! Update since I can't respond to the "owner's" reply: This company refuses to process my refund so I will have my financial institution return/not honor the payment. The only reason I received a response to my email was because I left this review. You can play checkers with others' money, but this is chess. I will never patronize this thieving company ever again.

Anne Springs Close Greenway - Lake Haigler, located just outside of Charlotte in Ft Mill, NC, offers a variety of areas to explore including a white dairy barn turned wedding venue, rolling hills, horse pastures, and a beautiful lake. It's an ideal setting for activities like engagement sessions and family-friendly adventures. Visitors can enjoy the forest playground and kayaking/paddle boarding on the lake. The park also features hiking routes with picturesque trails showcasing greenery and spring wildflowers.
We are incredibly lucky to have this massive greenway in our area! I love the south-side mountain bike/hiking trails the best, and the Blue Star trail end-to-end. The Gateway Canteen is a great addition for local brews and food while enjoying live music, events, or just a beautiful sunset. A perfect place for families, dogs, horse-lovers, and hikers of all levels. I also appreciate the plentiful outdoor handicap accessible areas by the dairy barn.

I recently visited this part of the Anne Springs Close Greenway on a school field trip and was extremely impressed! The grounds are immaculate and it is clear they use their corporate sponsorship dollars wisely. Canteen has an information station, small gift shop and canteen offering sandwiches, coffee and grab-n-go snacks. Restrooms are spacious and clean. Lots of activities and well maintained hiking trails to keep busy. We will definitely be visiting again!

Great facility and trails. Three years in the area and this was probably the best hike we have done as a family. Can't wait for the fall. Regina at reception was beyond helpful in signing up for the annual membership and the cafe while limited has some fresh healthy options.

Very nice area!! We hiked the Lake Haigler loop and then went over the swinging bridge and lastly to the dairy barn. In total, we were there for 1.5 - 2 hours. Loved seeing the horses out on the trails and in the farm land by the barn. Very clean and nice landscape area. Highly recommend going to this entrance! I’m sure the other parts are great but I’ve only been to this one. Fort Mill is very nice and quaint, so I recommend checking out downtown (less than a 10 minute drive from the Lake Haigler entrance).
Mikayla M — Google review
Beautiful acreage. Can get a little expensive for a Greenway if you were just going for walking or for parks, but all together it’s a good deal at $14 a person (young kids get in free). The horse entrance has a small farm with a garden, alpacas, goats, cows, birds of all different kinds (chickens, geese, etc.). You can only feed the animals Thursday through Sunday though. On the lake entrance, they have the main office with food for purchase and a unique playground that is mostly nature focused with wooden cabins and such. I look forward to going back.
Camille A — Google review
We haven't been in SC long but continue to explore. This was one of the best places we've visited so far. The trail around the lake is NOT what I would call ADA complient, many roots but walking I made it so others can. First and third Wednesdays of each month is free entry for seniors 65+
Frank D — Google review
Holy cow!!! This place is dog friendly and so so beautiful. There are over 40 miles worth of trails but I would strongly recommend the Haigler Loop (it’s 1.8 miles apparently). There were also nice/clean bathrooms and water available at the start of the course. They also had a big restaurant too at the start of the trail. There were playgrounds for kids. Don’t let the $14 admission deter you; this place is worth it for sure. Apparently they have events here, too. We will for sure come back soon—and we will probably get a membership.

Visitors can expect an exciting atmosphere with spooky vibes, black lights, and celebrity faces adorning the walls. While it may get crowded at times, families can enjoy a fun-filled day at this all-in-one entertainment destination in Charlotte.
Monster Mini Golf was such a wonderful way to spend an evening with friends in Charlotte. We arrived on a late Tuesday evening, and it wasn’t busy at all. We chose the Mini Golf option—it was reasonably priced and good enough for 1-2 hours of fun. They also have the arcade option(which covers all the other games like bowling besides the mini golf), which is a good idea if you’ve some free time. It’s located on the second floor and there’s an option of a functional elevator to take you there. The funky decor inside adds to the experience! The staff is helpful and tries their best. For mini-golf experience, I recommend allocating around 1.5-2 hours. The location in the strip mall ensures that there’s a lot of parking available. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience!

This was spur of the moment decision to come to do mini golf and I have to say this was the most fun I've had in a very long time. There was a couple of individuals working tonight named Leila and Carrie who answered all my questions, were extremely knowledgeable and made sure that we knew how to play and how to recharge our points. 10/10 experience definitely planning on bringing my nephew back with all his friends. The place is safe and family friendly. The bathrooms are clean. They serve soft drinks and slushies. The staff is amazing. I recommend to anyone looking to have an awesome wholesome family night of fun and games!

Huge gym with lots of amenities. Large men’s locker room with weight scale, steam and open showers. Great layout and design interiorly.
Marcin B — Google review
I’m here in Charlotte on business and needed some relaxation and was told about this YMCA. I was pleasantly surprised. Very large, modern facility. They have a full parking deck across the street. Beautiful building. I was expedited through the guest services. Was directed to the women’s locker room that housed the whirlpool, sauna and steam room. The locker room was immaculate. They even offered complementary plastic bags for your wet items. The whirlpool could have been a bit hotter with stronger jets and the sauna could have been a bit hotter as well. But that steam roomwas very hot and the steam came on every two minutes. I got the relaxation that I needed.
Just M — Google review
It’s a pretty safe and dynamic space to ‘gym’. It has almost everything, from pool, sauna and stream, locker rooms, (almost) all kinds of equipment, cardio room, courts (many), outdoor… it does get busy. Maybe plan to avoid the busiest time of day.
James M — Google review
A nice gym. I like all the amenities and the machines in the women’s room was a nice addition… but this place is crowded. Every single machine is full almost at all times of the day it’s insane. For as large as it is, idk maybe they should have some sort of capacity limit… not sure if there’s a way to regulate that. Also, parking was nice. There is one parking lot and a whole parking garage I believe just for the Y users only.
Kelly N — Google review
Save your money, it’s the same thing any gym would have expect a couple things. It’s even worse if you have a kid, the lady who gave us a tour today made us feel extremely uncomfortable and simply harassed. She kept emphasizing what our kid couldn’t do and never actually showed us the area where they Do keep the kids. Our four year old daughter tried to hold her hand at the beginning of the tour an she basically shamed her for that, at the moment I didn’t think anything of it until I saw she really hurt our daughters feelings from the Way she denied her. I get COVID happened but that was extremely, aggressive & inappropriate to do too a toddler, I would expect more from a company claiming “Christianity” and “good spirit”. Her energy was off from the start and it just kept getting worse.
MDLA M — Google review
By far my favorite Y around. Regardless of how busy it is, there is more than enough space and equipment to get a good workout in. The staff is very friendly, and the machines and facility stays clean. I love the dynamic of the outdoor track on the roof, as well as the crossfit on the bottom floor.. Great Facility!
Jarrell H — Google review
It’s been a month since we signed up. They have app issues, website issues and really poor support. No problem with the facilities but you cannot really book anything or find out about the schedule as they will never solve tech issues.

MAJOR DATA PRIVACY CONCERNS I am extremely disappointed with the YMCA's customer service and their irresponsible handling of personal data. I sent an email six business days ago about a critical web update issue and have not received any acknowledgment. Additionally, I canceled all summer camp registrations three business days ago, also with no confirmation. My main concern stems from their recent website update. It exposed personal information of a household member I was previously assured had been deleted from my account. This individual's data, including their connection to my current address and phone number, remained on file. This shows a complete disregard for privacy, especially for individuals who may have been in sensitive situations like domestic violence, by linking their information to others years after it was supposed to be removed. The YMCA has proven to be unethical, irresponsible, and unresponsive in this matter.

Additionally, it houses the zMAX Dragway for NHRA events.
We had an awesome time as usual at the Charlotte Motor Speedway! The Roval is a fun event to watch. We were lucky enough to have garage and pit passes too which is an added bonus. If you're new to races here, it's a bit better to sit higher up as you can see further around the track but there's really no bad seats here. $50 for Bojangles for 4 of us but that's really not terrible considering where you are. All in all it was a fun time with family.

What an incredibly clean track, easy to get in and out. I'm not a big NASCAR fan but went with some friends and had a phenomenal time. Also loved the aluminum table available to every seat in the stands! We paid for premium parking and it was worth it, but also don't think any parking was particularly bad.

The arena has a seating capacity of 8,600 and hosts live rock music, comedy acts, sporting events, and family-friendly shows like musicals. Home to the Charlotte Checkers hockey team since 1992, the coliseum also plays an active role in the community by contributing to various charitable causes.
We visited the Coliseum to see Disney on Ice. The parking and entry to the building was easy as could be. Finding our seats was honestly just as fast and easy. Every staff member we encountered were as friendly as they were helpful. Everything was clean and orderly. I can’t say I see this often at stadiums with such a large crowd entering and leaving at the same time.

We visited yesterday to see Cirque du Soleil. Parking was very easy as they have many attendants helping in the parking lot. The arena is an older building so it’s not fancy by any means, but plenty of food vendors, attendants to help and everyone was very friendly. The popcorn we bought came in the boxes and it was stale, so we definately recommend getting the popcorn from the actually stand. The show was amazing and really any seat in the house is great because the way the stage is set up.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We went to the Bojangles Coliseum to watch one of our favorite hockey teams play, and as always, it was an awesome experience! The arena is clean, well-organized, and easy to get around. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in, and the seating setup gives everyone a great view of the ice no matter where you sit. Of course, being at the Bojangles Coliseum, we had to grab some Bojangles — the food was hot and fresh, and the sweet tea and drinks were perfect. The atmosphere during the game was exciting and family-friendly, and you can really tell the facility is well taken care of. We had a great time overall and will definitely be back soon for another game. Highly recommend catching an event here if you get the chance!

What a fun place with a lot of different food options. From gelato to candy to home decor and more. Featuring ample parking around the area too We tried the pasta place which was good. Food was missing salt but it was tasty and fresh. We also tried the dumplings place and that was delicious. 12 homemade dumplings in a spicy sauce (pork dumplings). The gelato was really good too and since you’re walking around, you are burning all the calories so you can go for more.

1st time and my Wife and I had a great time. We strolled the hall and saw what place we wanted to eat at. Harriet's Hamburgers was what we chose. Very clean, simple and easy to order and they text you when its ready. Now, the price. I take into account this is on the higher end of dining. Hence, it comes with a price. A couple of menu items and several people working and no drive through. They are 100% reliant on foot traffic whether its a live order or Doordash. So, I get the elevated price for a Wendy's style burger. However, if you want someone from North Carolina to come back. You have got to sell a NC burger. The bun was really nice, but have 1 patty, chili, Slaw and Mustard and you be famous. I'm going back to Optimus Hall, but I'll go try another place out. I would like an excuse to go back to Harriets. I won't go back for a Wendy's Burger. Sorry. I will go back for the other places to eat. One of the halls reeks of curry. I saw a BBQ place i want to try.

Frankie's of Charlotte is a popular amusement park offering a wide range of exciting activities for families and groups. With its two-story laser tag zone and arcade boasting over 120 games, Frankie's is the largest family entertainment facility in the company's history.
Was a great fun day, only wish they had a all say all attraction fee, but other than the 14 year old twin sisters had a great day and we the adults also had fun. We did dark ride with zombies and that was fun, kids enjoyed the arcade and we did few rounds of karts, which me myself always enjoy a good kart track and passing the youngsters showing that its not the kart being slow. As my heavy self passed multiple younger folks who prob weigh 1/2 or less. Lol 😂. The kids rode 2 of the 3 thrill rides one of which fully takes them upside down. We had a little snack at the food area and some icee’s. So much more we did not get to do, we arrived around 1pm and were pretty tired by 5. One of the best up kept arcade, kart, attractions i have been too. Almost all the arcade games had motion and or virtual reality headsets to enhance the games realness. From it moving to fans etc. they also have lots of games that give tickets for prizes for those kids who love those ticket type games. This is a great place, we had been to the Frankies in Raleigh NC years back, had forgotten how nice they are. Highly recommend and would be great place for a bday party.

Had a very good time with the family on a late Saturday evening! Loved the security. Made us feel comfortable and secured as well. Didn’t eat this time but definitely enjoyed the strawberry lemonade Icee!! My nephew who is three enjoyed himself as well. He loved all the “big kid” rides🤣

Our first visit today. The bowling is so much fun. The area is modern and waitress service quick and extremely friendly. I did not appreciate the girl who gives out the shoes, and bowling lane. She put another family with young kids right near us when the bowling lanes were completely open across the board. She seemed a bit cranky and bothered when we first walked up for our lane. We came to spend good money and appreciate friendly service. The bathrooms were clean and the games all worked, but some of the go cart rides were closed. That was extremely disappointing but the bowling made up for it. I highly recommend a visit for young and old to enjoy.

Insanely cheap! So much fun with family and/or friends :) Like a Dave and busters but ACTUALLY good! I love this place. Food is a bit pricey but the games and attractions are all super affordable. Security on site to ensure safety as well.

Wow...we loved this place. NY has Dave and Buster's which is cool but this place..omg so freaking awesome. We did go karts, the swing, mini golf, arcades, VR so many options. Great choices for food too. Each activity is a separate price no entry fee at all. There is security....big bathrooms, family room and plenty of open spaces...I didn't feel like a sardine. Go karts were our favourite.... good for parents, grandparents, children, teens and young adults. Thank you. My friends and I had a fantastic day. If I lived in NC most definitely would be having my 55th birthday party there.

Great place..the arcade games are new/modern, the laser tag is two floors, they have 3 mini golf courses, and several race tracks. My only feedback is I wish they had value packages to save a few bucks for families.
John A — Google review
We had an amazing time. The carts were a blast, the arcade was fun, and there were so many awesome prizes!! The prices are a little high, but we still had amazing fun. 10/10 would recommend coming back!
Sephrenia D — Google review
Not a bad experience. Park is clean along with rides and most arcades being in working order. When arcades do not work, staff are plentiful enough to help, will refund credits on problem arcades, and I've seen repeat problem arcades replaced with something that will work consistently. Place is large enough and capable of handling surprise groups of 30~50 people though would always recommend attempting to plan large groups in advanced.

Sports Connection in Charlotte is an indoor sports complex that offers a variety of activities for kids, making it one of the best places to visit with active children. The center features arcade games, bowling, laser tag, and party rooms. Visitors can also participate in sports leagues and clinics. It's a great place for birthday parties, as they provide excellent communication before the event and can accommodate large groups of kids and parents.
We were invited to a birthday party at Sports Connection and it was such a fun experience. The kids enjoyed the activities and had plenty to do. Parking was easy, and the party food was great with delicious pizza plus both soft and hard drinks available. I also liked that there are lots of options here laser tag, rock climbing, and bowling even though the kids didn’t try everything this time. It’s a great spot for parties and family fun.

Great place for kids and adults to spend time with friends or family. The multiple arcade games and sport options are suitable for different age groups. I enjoy my family times with kids. Staffs are friendly and the place is very neat and clean. You can have great food options too.

Came here for the first time. My little ones (4 & 6) loved it. There were so many inflatables for them to climb and jump on. They also have an arcade, laser tag and bowling. They also serve food there as well. Very clean facility. Clean bathrooms too! $10 for 30 minutes but they also have promos where it can buy a punch card.
Matt L — Google review
It is a great place for kids of all ages, the pricing is a bit confusing, bc everything is sold in bundles, so to get the arcade games pass, you also bundle some kind of ride pass, although I never saw the ride they were talking about lol. However I was there with two littles who really only wanted to play in the bounce houses and the arcade. The mini bowling is amazing for little ones, my 3.5 & 1.5 year old grandkids were able to pick up and throw the balls by themselves and they were so proud!
Marcy C — Google review
The arcade is nice and has a lot of options to play. It was clean and the staff was friendly. But the prizes are terrible. They are so overpriced that you really can't win anything. I spent around $120 and got 2 small stuffed animals and 4 small things like a bracelet. If you dont care about prizes, then this is a good arcade, just a little expensive. If you have kids that want prizes, then look for the half off arcade day to make it even close to worth it.
Matthew C — Google review
What is a great place to take your grandchildren, there is something here for all age groups up to a teenagers
Mike D — Google review
Great place to hang out with friends and family. Also great to rent out for work events and parties. They have bowling alleys, bouncy houses, video games, laser tag and other entertainment activities. They have a restaurant inside that serves pizza, wings, drinks and more. They have a brand new pickleball Charlotte center next door that replaced the fitness connection.
Sam K — Google review
Love the bowling, laser tag, arcade, food and drinks. However, when I tried to tip the food server, they told me the owner keeps ALL TIPS!! I tried to give cash directly and the worker refused saying they are MONITORED ON CAMERA!! I've gone here several times and tipped on my credit card receipt and I feel cheated and disgusted that the owner doesn't give their workers their earned tips!!

Great updated playground. Main section replaced within the last few months. Artificial turf and a super tall slide installed. Lots for all ages. Merry go round, climbing routes, multiple slides and a good amount of shade. Get out and enjoy! This park also has drop off bins for recycling cardboard.

Soccer Park with a playground. One turf field and one grass field. There is no shade here, so be prepared. The parking lot can also get a bit packed on game days. Overall, nice playground, and the turf field is in pretty good shape. Lastly, there are working bathrooms and water fountains on site.

Beautiful, large, fenced dog park with three separate large areas, joined by wooded paths. Trails surround this gated, off leash area for dogs. It feels like three soccer fields in size, all unique and framed by the most magical trees. The area is incredible and lush. You can spend a good 20 mins walking from one end to the other. Ample running water and bowls for the pups.

THU 2025.08.07 ~06:20, after i arrived and parked my vehicle in the parking of William R. Davie Park, i went for an ~5+ mi CCW Loop walk: thru the neighborhood, and back to the parking. Relatively nice and cool weather, high 60s_F during my ~2 hrs walk. Encountered a total of 8 people (walking, or jogging) in the neighborhood. Everyone was cheery and friendly. The neighborhood look nice👍And William R. Davie Park and its facilities, including Restrooms were well-maintained and clean. Had a short break watching football practise at the Davie Park Multipurpose Field.

A lot of reviews are for the dog park but the playground here is also great! A large, fully fenced in playground with swings and climbing structures/slides for older and younger kids. There is also some shade, bathrooms, lots of parking, benches and a couple picnic tables. My 3 year old loved it. Some of the equipment was damaged and had caution tape so hopefully they take care of that soon.

Great really long dog park in woods. The shade is awesome on hot days. There is a small dog park as well at one end. But the large one is very spacious with multiple water stations & park benches & tables to sit at. It circles back to the parking lot

Beautiful amazing place with immaculate vibes ✨ Adorable farm animals; lots of pumpkins to choose from !! 🌽🐔🎃🐴🐷 We had delicious flavored lemonades and kettle corn as well as hot cider and fried cider donuts 😋
Brandy G — Google review
Never been until today.. we will be back. Lots of pumpkins to choose from, parking wasn’t bad, everything is affordable and despite having a huge crowd, we never felt cramped or rushed by any means. The animals you can see and pet/feed were cool. Games for kids and adults to play, a hay ride, sunflowers and more. A great opportunity to take the family and get away for a few hours! The lemonade was really good too!
Tony P — Google review
Very disappointing experience. There was long lines for everything, which is fine if you can get what you’ve waited for, but I waited in a extremely long line for over an hour for apple cider donuts and when I finally made it to the trailer to order, I was told that the machine broke (they were already down one machine to begin with), so no donuts, which was the only thing my wife and daughters wanted. There were lots of people upset & wanting refunds. We kept hearing from workers that they weren’t expecting such a large turnout, but I mean come on it’s Saturday in the fall…they should’ve been more prepared!! Oh no apple cider either (same excuse)! So I essentially paid $5.00 to park and we spent the rest of time waiting in lines to get nothing. If I owned that business I’d be very concerned with the amount of money and opportunity I’m missing! On the positive, people were nice and the pumpkins selection was good.
Matthew G — Google review
Great place to visit! They are great for field trips, very educational! They keep the kids intrigued and have a hay stack for kids to play in. They sell various item, such as honey, pumpkins of all shapes and sizes!! They show us different types of farm animals and even visitor friends, like spiders, and teach the kids how they are beneficial for the environment.

Great hay ride. Snacks for purchase. Pumpkins for purchase ranging from $5-20 per pumpkin based on size. Friendly staff. Fun play area too!

Elizabeth was amazing! Her theater acting experience definitely made her animated and passionate about the darker history of Charlotte and the places that may have supernatural connections! Our tour was easily paced and she blocked the intersections whenever we crossed to ensure our safety. We loved hearing about the gold rush past and the tie to the current banks in CLT! We can't wait to try another tour and learn even more! We also went to Ri Ra after to see some of the things we learned on the tour and it was pretty cool!

We had such a great time on this tour. Elizabeth was our tour guide and she was amazing! We learned a lot that we didn't know and her enthusiasm made the haunted stories even better. Highly recommend this tour whether you have lived in Charlotte area forever or are visiting from out of town.

We were looking for something fun to do in Uptown and found this history and haunts tour. Elizabeth was our tour guide and did a phenomenal job! She was extremely knowledgeable about the citities history and hauntings. I had no idea how old a lot of the buildings are and how much history is underneath the sky scrapers. We were entertained the entire time and she was loud enough for a group of 20 to hear. I highly suggest this tour as something to do. Especially as we start to near hallows eve.

Bank of America Stadium is a 74,000-seat football stadium located in Charlotte and serves as the home of the NFL's Carolina Panthers. It is a must-visit destination for sports enthusiasts and music lovers alike. The stadium hosts college teams, annual events like the Dukes Mayo Bowl, and has witnessed historic victories by the Panthers. Beyond football, it transforms into a concert venue attracting top talent.
We went for the soccer game and it was so much fun! This was my first visit to the stadium, but my daughter has season tickets and really loves it. We were able to get through the screening process to get in very quickly, but we knew that you have limits to purse or bag size and were compliant ahead of time. We did not have to wait in line at any point. Everything was clean and the staff we encountered was friendly and very helpful. We sat in the club seating the seats were very comfortable and easy to get to. We did get a few beverages, but I can't speak to the food as I did not try it because we ate prior to going. The soccer game was awesome and all of the traditions that they have was so much fun. Would highly recommend and would love to see the football games as well. Will definitely be back for events when in the area.

Bank of America Stadium is an amazing place to experience a game or event! The atmosphere is electric, the staff is friendly, and the entire stadium is clean and well-maintained. The seating gives a great view no matter where you are, and the energy from the fans makes it unforgettable. Concessions and facilities are easy to access, and everything is organized smoothly. Whether it’s for the Panthers, concerts, or other events, this stadium always delivers an outstanding experience. Highly recommend visiting!

Flew in for the Dolphins game. Miami blew a 17-0 lead. Stadium is ok compared to others I’ve been to. The area is cool. Lots of restaurants and bars. The stadium itself needs to be upgraded in my opinion. The fans were cool. Not disrespectful to us visiting fans. Good time despite the loss.
Chris B — Google review
Go Panthers! Finally attended a Carolina Panther game and it was amazing! Plenty of parking around the stadium and not too much walking to get there. The staff were friendly but either didn't care for the Panthers or were almost clueless about the team, some said it frankly that they weren't fans. Best part is the access to endless bathrooms. The only things I found were Team Stores everywhere and the same stadium food concession stands throughout. Every once in a while there would be a small area that displays team gear or mementos from past years. The Panthers and the soccer team are displayed throughout which is a nice touch. The seats... I'm not the biggest guy but I was crunched in those seats and when the seats started to fill up I was downright cramped luckily it was an action packed game so we had a reason to stand up a lot. Even being in the 300s had a great view and I was able to get close to the field for some extra pictures thanks to some nice staff. Loved the experience and will be back to see my Panthers a lot more just hope we can get some improvements soon Tepper. Keep Pounding!
Quentin L — Google review
Always fun at the football games even when your team is playing badly I also posted a video of the defensive line players. We were able to go into the tunnel which was amazing if you get the chance. The stadium is nicely laid out with plenty of food and restrooms.

Not a bad seat in the house! Loved watching the game in person. Seeing Josh Allen up close was awesome. When he's in the HOF one day I can describe our day and what it was like to be there. Electric!!

Love this stadium. I’m gonna separate the venue from the football team here. Always a great hospitality experience for any event at the stadium. From luxury accommodations, suite accommodations, standard bowl seating. Any event is put on here safely and with fans in mind. Hoping it stays up to date for years to come.

What a beautiful park. It reminds me of my hometown park where I used to go. It has gentle walking paths. I have ankle problems but didn't struggle at this path. I fully enjoyed the landscape. There is a big playground as well. Also has many benches& shady areas. I highly recommend this park :)

We’ve been going to freedom Park for over a decade. It is our favorite park in Charlotte when we’re visiting our grandparents. We love the athletic course that was funded by the Carolina Panthers. Every time we’re there, I have to time my youngest to see how fast she can finish it. The park is well kept and beautiful. There is a nice bathroom in the center that is usually clean. There’s a cool looking locomotive and a fun playground for younger kids. There’s also ample space for picnics, volleyball, soccer, and just playing around with your dogs. When my wife joins us, we just enjoy walking around the lake and taking pictures. I highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful park. It's great for walking by yourself or with your dogs. They also have playgrounds for children to play on. It also seems like a popular spot to fish because when I was there, there were multiple people fishing. The nature museum that it connects to is closed to construction. The new renovation Spectrum Center is great. My husband and I attended for the first game of the Hornets. The place is spacious with lots of eating selections. I found the personnel to be very friendly also. I liked the refillable popcorn and drinks. I will definitely do that again. Unfortunately we didn't like the pizza. It was cold and not flavorful. The restroom was small (about 6 or 8 stalls). I expected it to be bigger. But they did have multiple ones in the area. In addition they were clean. We can't wait to go back.

Came here for the Billie Eilish concert on the 20th. Never been to a concert in a stadium. Not my favorite thing in the world. Felt very far from the stage. The sound quality was great and the seating was fairly comfortable Other than having to stand every time someone wanted to leave/enter the row of seats. Security was great and friendly. But man were the food and drinks expensive as hell. In all a good stadium though regardless of how well concerts are held.

Me and my adult son had our 1st NBA experience and we really enjoyed it! My son did have to throw away his vape at the entrance, coz we didn't know he couldn't bring it in, but other than that, it was great! The employees were helpful in guiding us to where we needed to go, and the suite was very nice, with complimentary catering! Can't wait to go back!! 👍👍

We attended the Billie Eilish show on 10/20. Very long line, but it moved quickly. Easy entrance into the venue (as long as you've followed the rules), the employees were polite, although a few didn't know how to answer certain questions (like where I could fill up my water bottle, or where I could find/purchase medical needs). Very clean, including the restrooms. Ample (paid) parking very close to the venue, which was much appreciated. We were in the Upper Section, so had to rely on the screens for better viewing. Wires, lights, and speakers obstructed our view and that was VERY disappointing. Other than that, we would attend another show here.

UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, established in 1966, is a botanical haven located on the University of North Carolina campus. It was initially created to provide a hands-on learning experience for biology students and serve as a horticultural resource for the community. Over time, it has expanded to encompass 10 acres of outdoor gardens, a 4,500-square-foot glasshouse with an attached workspace, and a teaching classroom housing a vast botanical and horticultural library.
What a beautiful garden! We parked in the spot by the nursery and immediately to our right was a beautiful orchid room with two levels. The whole building is much bigger than it looks and when you’re done there’s a brick sidewalk trail that takes you directly to the gardens! The gardens are huge (10 acres total if i believe so) but take a straight left and you can see the new tea house and their lovely pond filled with fish! Definitely coming back, had a great day with my mom and friends!

Gorgeous themed greenhouses and grounds. I could spend so many hours here! It's easy to assume the trails might be less impressive than the greenhouses, but they are beautiful and expansive in their own right. I especially enjoyed the Asian Garden and the Tropical Room inside the McMillan Greenhouse. I can only imagine how cool it would be as a local student to visit this wonderful place all the time!

The sarracenia is so plentiful and diverse and the fly traps are so bright and beautiful! I can’t wait to visit this inspiring place again one day :)

Beautiful hidden gem! So peaceful, with winding trails, bridges, and lots of shade. There’s even a kids’ nature play area that kept mine entertained while I enjoyed the scenery. Very well kept, and plenty of benches to rest and take in the view.
Samantha R — Google review
The rooms are cool. Definitely an overwhelm for the senses... In the best way though! I would like to see more dino stuff in that particular room... When you cross the street to the outdoor gardens, it's like you're in another world. Very relaxing and grounding. Little surprises throughout... Added Plus, you can rent the space for pics or a wedding etc.. great way to get it done on a budget, ijs. Very shaded and organic in its layout. Not the very pristine, super manicured deal, but beautiful all the same.
Danielle C — Google review
We went on a Friday afternoon managed to snag a limited parking spot in front. Beautiful gardens. Different rooms with different climates for the plants. The most beautiful orchid room. Walked across the street and wondered about the hardwood garden. Such a lovely place and loved all the informative signs.
Tess G — Google review
Free to walk around! They have a map to guide you through the different areas. You can park near the greenhouse and sign in. There isn’t a whole lot of parking there but it’s nice if you can find a spot. The botanical gardens outside are pretty cool and it is a bit of walking. I’d recommend coming on a cooler day. Nice experience overall.

Reedy Creek Nature Center and Preserve is a gem within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation Department's projects. Spanning 927 acres, it offers fishing, 10 miles of trails, and a rich habitat for various wildlife species. Visitors can explore historical remnants like cabin ruins and the Robinson Rockhouse. The preserve provides a peaceful natural setting away from urban crowds, with biking allowed on paved roads but not on hiking trails.
2024.12.25 sunny 40s_F had a ~4.5 mi walk at the nearby (~10 mins drive) Reedy Creek Nature Preserve. Nice and clean, trails in good condition 👍 Encountered 5 friendly people and 1 dog while on the trails. A group playing Cricket (??) and another Baseball (??).
01kk W — Google review
Cute little Nature Center with some animals like snakes. Interactive stations to explore for little ones as well as a children corner with building blocks, books, a ready nook and more to explore! There is a souvenir shop at the entrance as well. What I really enjoyed was the fenced playground right next to the center, so you can just walk and explore outside, after the Nature Center. Very clean and well maintained. And all for free!
Vanessa — Google review
We love this place! Awesome hiking but find a route because there are some trials that go a long way. We love the house ruins from old gold miners! There is also a neat tree there for kids to climb! Kids will love this hiking place.
Brady T — Google review
Well, this nature center has everything for everyone. I mean literally everything. If you have kids, they have playgrounds, library, museums etc. if you want to run, you can easily make 10 plus beautiful miles, if you simply want to walk, aw! Gorgeous walking trails. Basketball, disc golf, volleyball, baseball you name it. Nice clean bathrooms and employees at the information center are very professional and friendly.

This is a Really nice park. This plus isolated but at the same time feels very safe. It’s great to be able to get away from the city and have that mountain country feel. There is a mixture of gravel and paved trails. It’s unclear where you can and can’t ride bikes. We only walk jog this trail. It is odd how quickly 2 miles come I’ll while walking this treck. Along the way is ponds and stilling benches etc. I would recommended this for families. Plenty of parking.
Steven D — Google review
This morning was my first time back to this park in a few years. I went to go fishing, but there was nothing in the lake other than tiny sunfish, 3in long at most. If your trip is based on a fishing spot, go somewhere else. If you're going just to enjoy the outdoors and scenery, absolutely take the trip, it is a beautiful park.
Trout D — Google review
We were looking foe a relatively easy hike around the Charlotte area that would include great views of nature and maybe some local history. The Reedy Creek Nature Center was a great place to visit, as the hike was very leisurely and enjoyable. At the Nature Center the crew member was very helpful with suggestions on which trails to take and the distances. The trails are relatively flat with a few roots and rocks, and very easy climbs. Several bridges take you over creek areas and provide great photo opportunities. All trails were clearly marked and easy to follow.
Steve W — Google review
Great place to go hiking. The nature center is very nice the kids can see some snakes and turtles inside all four free. Trails are pretty easy to hike so you can take the kids. Playgrounds and picnic tables every where.

Paradise Valley Par 3 is an ideal destination for golfers looking to refine their wedge skills. The course boasts 18 holes, each measuring less than 100 yards, making it a convenient and affordable option. Opened in 1996 and designed by Ken Andrews, this public golf course in Charlotte, North Carolina offers a challenging yet accessible experience for both beginners and experienced players.
18 hole Par 3 course with TONS of water in play. Guy said there is water on 8 holes but it’s more like 16. It does get backed up on the weekends and you are right in top on the other groups and groups coming back towards you. It exceeded our expectations.
Kyle S — Google review
Absolutely love this course! Me and my husband are here all the time prefect for beginners and experienced golfers . Staff is amazing super friendly and very helpful with everything , pricing is great ! The Ducks are the best part for me very friendly and adorable
Breanna J — Google review
Thought it would be a fun place for some beginner golfers. Unfortunately, you have to hit off mats, the greens are not the best, and there are tons of water hazards. When we arrived for our tee time, they only had one cart for the four of us. Which we didn't mind until we had to push the one cart the majority of the way since it was an absolute junker! We still managed to have some fun, and we'll be back. Now that we're more prepared knowing what to expect.
David J — Google review
A beautiful Par 3 course. Great for walking and working on your short game. 100 yards or less fun yet still a challenge. Lots of water so bring extra balls. Ideal for the family outings or just to relax and swing the wedges. Just played a round and it is still the best par 3 around. Love this place the views are beautiful. You better bring your best chips and putts as the course will expose you if you don't. One of the top attractions in University City.
Nils C — Google review
Fun course to play! Staff is very nice as well. The water holes are challenging, definitely bring extra balls. Greens aren’t in the best shape but overall a good course to work on your short game!
Kevin S — Google review
This was one my first real golf experiences. Played this course about two months ago, course was in rough condition but still very playable for the cost. Staff was very friendly, carts worked great. Greens were very slow, almost unplayable. Course was in very bad shape, but the price was great, had a great time despite the courses condition. Probably would not come back, unless trying to work on chipping.
Erin R — Google review
This is my favorite Par 3 course in Charlotte! I have been here 3-4 times and the afternoon view was stunning every time. The course is very clean and well maintained. It only costs 11 dollars to play 18 holes. The course is very fun yet challenging as it has a lot of water where you can easily lose your balls.
Tina X — Google review
Played 18 with cart. I feel bad for this place. Giant clubhouse, newish mats, 8 holes over water, island green, game room. Zero cars in the parking lot. Probably cause the greens are awful. I didn't putt, I would just knock the ball off the green and practice chipping. Could be an extraordinary great place.

Beautiful park in the middle of the tranquil Fourth Ward neighborhood! Although small, this park has a play area, benches, and a paved path to explore. A hidden gem in uptown Charlotte with free 2-hour parallel parking nearby!

A beautiful and clean park. I love walking here from my apartment. It’s such a great representation of how beautiful Charlotte can be. Plus my pups always loved going here ❤️

Perfect if you seek peace and quiet. If you are lucky, you can see the little rabbits here and there. Lots of squirrels and birds. Good people with good dogs. It's a nice place. Small, though.

Park nestled between living areas. Very quaint. Great views of some of the high-rises. Nice little fountain area towards the end, where you can sit and relax. If you have an aviation bug, look up, plenty of planes overhead, line up for final approach. We always visit when strolling through downtown.
