My pitas were so soggy that they were inedible. The manager's excuse was that they had been putting the pitas on top of the salad for years and there had never been a problem. They didn't realize that you can't put bread or anything like that on top of the salad and that it would turn into dough. They tasted good but incorrect packaging caused my product to go to waste and the lady who answered the phone said she was the one responsible for that and she was very rude.

Service was incredibly slow. Sat for 15 minutes till they took my order. Watched two people sit down well after get served food before me. And they were making all the door dash delivery orders before mine even tho I'm sitting right there staring at them. Waiting. Food is good but 45 minutes to order food and eat it is not good enough

Some of the best Turkish food I have had in San Francisco. Beautiful, amazing atmosphere. Very friendly staff. I got the tomato and cheese pide, absolutely delicious. I ate it at home though as I had the Turkish coffee on location with my friends. Looks like a gorgeous upstairs area as well- this would be a great place to have a wedding reception or other formal gathering. Everything was so delicious! It was such a beautiful experience and I cannot wait to be back!!

Great customer service and staff are very attentive and making sure you enjoy your meal. The la Manchu is great and bread is nice and crispy. The chicken plate is also very good and chicken is well cooked.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Kitchen Istanbul SF! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor. We started with the Levrek Marin and sautéed shrimp, both fresh and perfectly seasoned. The eggplant shakshuka was rich and comforting, and the Adana kebab had just the right amount of spice and smokiness. The service was warm, attentive, and made the whole evening feel extra special. To top it all off, we had the homemade profiterole — and wow, it was the perfect sweet ending. Delicious food, amazing presentation, and top-notch hospitality. Can’t wait to come back!

Kitchen Istanbul is a perfect date night spot. I recommend getting early reservations because this place fills up QUICK. I scheduled our reservation day of for 6:30. We ran a little late and were luckily able to adjust our reservation by 15 min - just in time. Shortly after we sat down the entire restaurant filled up 😅. We were sat quickly and received excellent service. Our waiter had great recommendations and every dish was a hit after hit. What did we order / what should you order? (1) Muhammara roasted red pepper, walnuts, pomegranate molasses - this is a must have (2) Pistachio Salad farm greens, Valencia orange, fennel, candied pistachio - delicious (3) Adana lamb and beef blend, Fresno chile, homemade lavash, traditional accompaniments - so good, order 2 (4) Aegean Branzino preserved Meyer lemon, börülce piyaz, salsa verde, fresh herb salad - skippable. we weren't a fan of the cold beans and beats but the branzino was delicious Would I go again? Absolutely

- wine: one of the best (if not the best) wine programs in SF - service: so friendly, kind, and helpful - food: excellent, very veg and fish friendly if you want it to be. It’s so so good, and they change the menu up seasonally. We love their warm pita and dips, saksuka, and salads, usually get a fish dish or their short rib and most recently had the Adana kebabs which were a highlight (and I’m not a big meat eater)

Been wanting to try this place for a while. A solid meal, the paçanga borek was the best dish by far. Solid service nice atmosphere.

Awesome appetizers! Hummus is thick and flavorful, pita bread was so fresh and steaming. Appetizers definitely beat entrees. Great selection of wine as well. While this place does cary Turkish flavors it is California influenced, and I like that a lot.

I’ve eaten here a few times and have not had any issues up until tonight. The flavor is good until I bite into a big chunk of onion and tomato - very unpleasant. I don’t remember chunks of onion and tomatoes for all the times I’ve ordered the chicken shawarma. If the chunks are here to stay I’m not returning any more. The person who prepared it tonight needs training.

Have been here around 57 times and they Never disappoint, one time they accidentally forgot the falafel in my falafel wrap but fixed the order and it was no problem. I’m a big fan of the falafel lux (spicy) , everything about this place is great ! It’s healthy it’s delicious and high quality.

Worst experience with Mediterranean food so far in SF and Bay Area. The place is dirty, needs renovation The cucumbers are rotten, have bitter taste. And on top of that- I ordered chicken shawarma and got a falafel which I found out after a few bites. I would be totally fine with any shawarma in any variety of stuffing if it's really tasty. The lamb tower stays RIGHT at the entrance and collecting all the dust and spit from the customers. Guys you should definitely google how modern shawarmas look like in Ukraine and Europe now and understand how outdated standards you have here. Not blaming anyone but it needs to be nicer when you're getting shawarma for 17$ including tax. This was not pleasant experience at all.

Great regular falafel wrap. Appreciated nice service and just wrapped in aluminum and paper bag without excess packaging. Had falafels from here years ago, and it was great then, too. Unpretentious place. Looks like what I'd want in a mediterranean restaurant.

We came here for the first time thinking it would be good. Over priced, didnt even get right order, chicken was some what cooked and we asked for pickles in the shawarma and what did we get no pickles and we asked them to not put hummus and tomatoes and you already know what they put in the shawarma. This is not the shawarma i know. Would go somewhere else unless its a last resort and you need shawarma reel bad.

I went here yesterday for an anniversary dinner with my partner and we really liked it overall :)) Our waitress was extremely kind and helpful. The sevice was excellent across the board. The food was also excellent. The chicken was extremely tender and well prepared and the freshness of the ingredients really shines through. I do wish I was able to see/understand Turkish influences a bit more clearly but we really liked this place and will be coming back again.

Such a cute place. The food is mediocre. Started with a high note on appetizers, the kofta was on the dry side but it had all the right spices, the zucchini dolmas tasted delicious. The grilled chicken was also dry, the mousaka was rather bland and had not enough beef. But overall the food was gorgeously plated, the place was cute and the service was great.

Came in with a party of two for dinner around 6pm on a Monday. We did not make a reservation and were given high top seats by the window. It’s a cozy spot, and I was surprised they were able to seat that many people in that space. Dinner food was okay, all in all more like a 3.5/5 rating, but I was not wowed. You should double check with the waiter and clarify a few times if you have food allergies. My friend has a dairy allergy and we clarified a few times that meant no butter as well. We shared the calamari which was tasty. The texture of the couscous pearls, nuts, and the calamari was chewy and fun to eat each bite. My friend ordered the burger and really enjoyed that. As for my braised short rib, it was prepared nicely as I barely had to use my knife. I wish there was a flavorful sauce that it came with to dip the meat and potatoes. It was a solid meal overall but I probably won’t come again for dinner. Perhaps I will check out the brunch as they are known for brunch more.

f you're looking for an authentic and absolutely delicious Turkish breakfast experience in San Francisco, Lokma is a must-visit! We ordered their Turkish breakfast spread and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each small dish felt thoughtfully prepared from the creamy cheeses and honey to the vibrant olives and fresh fruits. The scrambled eggs with sausage (sucuk) were fluffy and perfectly seasoned, and the warm, fluffy pita slices were the perfect match. Their spinach and cheese börek was a real highlight too flaky, savory, and topped with a light sprinkle of sesame seeds. The presentation alone is worth mentioning everything came out so colorful and inviting. (See the photos!) The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The cozy atmosphere and beautiful wooden tables made it feel like a true Turkish home. Highly recommend Lokma for anyone craving a vibrant and hearty breakfast it's truly one of the best breakfast experiences I've had in the Bay Area! The halibut was DIVINE. Start your course with the hummus and pita. Get the chicken or halibut and end your meal with the baklava with ice cream. You will not be disappointed. One of my favorite San Francisco spots to eat at, brunch or dinner, especially as the sun sets.

Visited Lokma for an occasion and enjoyed every part of my meal there. We especially devoured the Manti (Turkish dumplings) served with creamy garlic yogurt and tomato butter sauce. Street parking can be challenging in the area. Recommended for dates/smaller parties, and to book reservations ahead of time for ease with seating. They also do pickup and delivery.

One thing about me is I’m always down for a platter. Loved the variety in the mezze sampler. Pay for the extra baked bread it’s soooo good. Fragrant and tender chicken, incredible rice. Fantastic halloumi, swam in this citrusy herby sauce. Potatoes were sooo crazy, teleferic patatas bravas but spicy and crispier. Dare I say better. Main qualm was the branzino… my favorite type of fish yet they messed it up 😢 very dry We were a party of 9 on Friday at 6pm and the staff were very accommodating, laboriously moving around tables. Very loud inside and nicely chaotic. Thank you for such a great dining experience!

Honestly one of my new favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Imagine a warm day in the Bay. Sunny, yet cool. Sipping on a tangy lemonade while the appetizers and food roll in the company of others. The food was amazing good. From the baked olives, lebneh, beef kabob and chicken. Amazing flavors and actually delicious. I can't wait to go back.

Second time I have dinner here and have to leave a review. Everything we ordered was so delicious and I don’t feel heavy after. Food is cooked clean, not greasy and lots of flavor. Will be picking up dinner here more regularly. Highly recommend.

The food here is great! The chicken shish tawook plate is so good. Generally tender and the yogurt marinade. The fattoush was amazing with the charred dates. It was very filling and delicious. The inside decor is nice but it feels like a pickup spot now rather than a decent sit-down. I sat outside which was nice but the service was very slow. I never once got a refill on water in the hour I stayed. The waiter was frantically running around taking orders and not able to keep the same level of service to each client... Overall I'd visit again but wish their bare minimum service was better.

Went as a group of three and shared a mezze sampler and the musakhan. The chicken was super tender and delicious but could have had a little more kick in spice and flavoring in my opinion. Sampler was amazing, would order again. Definitely a place to come to share a bunch of things not for solo dining!

I don't go out for Middle Eastern food very often, but recently I've been trying out more spots with friends and coworkers, and Beit Rima is right up there. They have a few locations in the city - for this visit we went to one on Church one since it's easy to get to by public transit. The space is cozy and popular, and it can get pretty loud when it's full (there was a waitlist and line out the door at some point while we were there). We had a two-top, but I appreciated that they also have long communal tables too. You're seated and given menus first, but you order at the counter, and food comes out pretty fast. We shared the mezze sampler and we each ordered the beef kebob plate. It was more than enough food, with leftovers to take home. We didn't stay for dessert this time, but I'd be happy to return to try the muhalabia as well as more of their savoury dishes.

Amazing food. Squid was phenomenal. Lamb shake delicious..shrimp was unique. Eggplant a minor let down. Waitress was super friendly. Just a little loud in the beginning. Would recommend for a good dinner!

Aziza was an absolute treat and a unique Moroccan restaurant. The meal started off on a high note with their cornbread served with harissa butter — hands down the best cornbread we have ever had. Perfectly moist with quite a bit of sweetness with just the right kick of spice from the butter. The shakshuka was phenomenal — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked eggs that made every bite satisfying. The mussels appetizer was another standout, fresh and beautifully seasoned. The basteeya was unique and delicious, like a savory, chicken-stuffed baklava — the flavors were spot on, though it was a touch on the greasy side. The only minor letdowns were the sit-down chairs, which could be more comfortable, but that hardly mattered once the food started arriving. The yuzu custard was a perfect finish to the meal with a unique mix of flavors. The wait for the dishes was noticeable, but absolutely worth it.

An absolute treat....everyone loved almost all the dishes. The Burratta and the green shakshuka were the favorites along with the corn bread and the Cauliflower. The spreads were also pretty good. Very good and finely balanced cocktails too. 👍

I wanted to try someething different; some cuisine that was a bit more unique to the Bay Area. We have so many Asian food options. Morrocan was one of the more unique dining options that popped up. Aziza was also listed as fine dining...perfect for anniversary celebration! Parking was beyond challenging this particular weekend! There was a flea market and something else going on... I circled the surrounding blocks for a good amount of time without finding anything close. I had to to expand my parameters and finally found some parking several blocks away, about a 20 minute walk. We were actually 30 minutes late! Luckily the hostess didn't give us any problems. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the let us switch tables to a better location. Good size venue, although the tables are a bit cozier than I prefer. #MorrocanEats; ~ grilled monterey squid - 5/5 This smelled amazing. The portion is most definitely on the smaller side, not a shareable appetizer. More like a personal appetizer. Fresh Squid grilled to perfection. ~ whole branzino - 5/5 While the whole fish was served, it was split open and most of it was deboned it as well! Brilliant! Cooked to perfection... ~ basterya - 4/5 Crispy, flakey warm Chicken patty... Serving size was in the middle; it could go either way. This could be an appetizer for somebody with a big appetite or a main course for somebody with a small appetite. Initially I thought the first bite was amazing. However, the more I ate it the sweeter it got. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the rasins, I thought they ended up giving the dish a sweeter finish that I preferred. ~ yuzu custard - 3/5 This was just odd... The flavor profile was too erratic, went in too many different directions. I think they over complicated this dessert. The presentation was nice. Our waitress Nydia was amazing; knowledgeable, patient and on top of everything. Mahalo Nydia!

Loved this Moroccan brunch spot! The shakshuka was savory and flavorful, with Mexican chiles and chickpeas adding great depth and texture. The spiced lebni yogurt was delicious. Beautiful décor, eye-catching presentation, and very fair prices for the quality.

Went for a Father’s Day brunch and ordered the prawns, yogurt and shakshuka with kefta. The yogurt was too sweet and too creamy for my liking and the polenta tasted a bit old but everything else was delicious! Excellent service and a beautiful interior.

have come here for dinner and now brunch, which sealed the deal for me! shakshuka with chickpeas was hearty and well-balanced. the side of potatoes were perfectly crispy and accompanied by a slightly tangy sauce. coffee is from sightglass and well brewed. all high quality, a cut above! i was initially skeptical about the prices for brunch but it was good portion size and well worth it. this order was good enough to share for 2 people. also, our young female server was also so kind to me and made my birthday brunch exceptional. my birthday brunch so special

A charming spot with coastal-inspired decor, delicious Mediterranean food, and incredibly friendly service. We went with the Baba Ghanoush and the Yaprak Doner Kebab - both beautifully plated and packed with stunning flavors. The lamb in the kebab in particular had a rich taste that really stood out. Wish we had room to try more dishes - definitely a gem worth returning to!

Our host was engaged and extremely helpful with suggestions and ideas for the best wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. The rice pudding dessert with cinnamon and ground pistachios his mother's recipe was delicious. My ground lamb dinner was great! The moussaka is done perfectly.

Come to this restaurant! Someone recommended this place to me, don’t remember who now… so it’s been on my list for a while. Finally had an opportunity and came for a birthday meal, 5 total people, and enjoyed the food and atmosphere incredibly! We came in without a reservation - so they were a little unsure where to put us at first (hence 4 service stars), but the service and everything else after were excellent! For 5 people we ordered the larger mazze platter and 2 additional dishes, all three kitchen “main” dishes, and all three desserts. We shared everything family style and it was the perfect amount (if not a little more). 4 of 5 of us got wine experiences, all the wine was unique and went well with the food. The flavors were incredible! Our favorites were the platter, the beef kitchen main, and the saffron yogurt dessert. But honestly everything was great! You can’t go wrong, just depends on what you like. Go and enjoy!

My wife and I hosted over 50 guests at Komaaj Mazze Wine Bar. The Service was great, the event was managed perfectly by Komaaj and the food was out of this world. The comment we got from everyone was that the event was fantastic. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with decorations and images adorning the walls. Highly recommend this place. It is an experience to be remembered.

Absolutely love this place! I first tried this place years ago when it was still a tiny cafe in SF and I was happy to see how much they have grown recently! The service is amazing. And I absolutely love their interior design, with very their traditional unique pieces brought from Iran. The food is really unique, delicious, and beautifully served. They offer traditional Iranian dishes (that you normally don’t find in Iranian restaurants here) and they have slightly modified them with a modern touch. The menu changes and I loved everything that I have tried on their menu! My absolute favorite was the Sumac Beef Pan Kabob.

If I had to pick my top 10 restaurants in SF, this would absolutely make the list. It feels like home, warm, welcoming, and full of heart. What makes it special is how it highlights Persian dishes you don’t often see elsewhere. The mains were outstanding, the chicken and smoky fish were my favorites, the lamb stew could get better. The appetizers were a bit mixed; some were good, while others could use a little more refinement. Still, the overall experience was fantastic. Service was incredible, attentive yet relaxed, and the space itself is beautiful. The design and decor, with portraits and traditional pieces, made the atmosphere feel authentic and filled with love. Truly a gem in the city.

This place has such great vibes - from the decor, to the food presentation and plating, plus the hospitality, etc. We got the red wine tasting flight and the pours were generous! We also got the neshtaa mazze sampler and the pomegranate chicken & rice - all were delicious and a hefty amount of food for two. Would definitely come back to try more items on the menu!

Great place for good N. Iran inspired dishes. We were 3 so we got the mezze platter for 4 - great smoked fish with several good side dishes to share. The service did get kind of slow towards that that of the evening. It did get a bit noisy.

Absolutely loved my experience at Turquaz! The food here is full of flavor and beautifully presented. I tried their pistachio kebab the meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Also mix kebab platter the meat pie it was so delicious! Coming to the baklava was fresh and flaky, and I highly recommend the milk baklava if you’re in the mood for something a little richer and creamier. For dessert, the San Sebastian cheesecake was a standout super smooth and not overly sweet. I paired it with a pistachio latte (so unique and delicious!) and a traditional Turkish tea that tied the whole meal together nicely. The ambiance is cozy and thoughtfully decorated it felt warm and inviting from the moment I walked in. The staff were friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu. Loved this new Turkish spot in San Francisco! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. The mint ayran, classic Turkish tea, and fresh-from-the-oven lahmacun were incredible. The lamb pistachio kebab with soft lavash just melted in my mouth. Chef Mete’s cheese roll borek was perfectly crispy with creamy cheese inside — a must-try. Desserts are amazing too: warm Acma, Simit, baklava, and the heavenly San Sebastián cheesecake with warm chocolate. Highly recommend!

I had such a wonderful experience at this Turkish restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious every dish was full of flavor and felt so fresh. The interior is super cute and cozy, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. And the dessert? Truly breathtaking the perfect sweet ending. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I can say that it is the best Turkish restaurant you can find in San Francisco, or even in the western United States. I have not had such a good meal recently. Food, kebabs, desserts, cookies.. I couldn't decide which one to try.. The kids loved them all. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the staff is attentive. Thank you very much. It is worth coming back from Germany to eat again 🙂😍

I came here for a 1 person breakfast - I didn’t want to try the traditional Turkish breakfast since I have had it in other places and wanted to try something different. I had the Menemen and it was fantastic. So creamy and flavorful. The side of bread was a perfect addition. Definitely felt that I could have shared it with one more person. I’ll definitely be coming back here to try other dishes. Bonus : The owner of the shop seems so humble and courteous- very welcoming staff!

An excellent Turkish restaurant/bakery in SOMA. I had just moved to SOMA with some friends a few months ago, and Turquaz was one of the first places that caught my eye. I absolutely love Turkish food, and everything about this place exuded quality. I went with a party of about 6 people and were seated quickly, this is more of a cafe style restaurant, so there weren't too many large tables but we were able to find a spot quickly. They are quite modern and have the option to order with a QR code so we did that, but they did have table service as well. We ordered Kofte and Stuffed Grape Leaves for our appetizer and it was spot on delicious. They also provided Pita bread. For my mains, I ordered the Meat Doner bowl. I was pleasantly surprised to see a very large portion of meat, with rice, and a salad. The meat was sliced fresh off of the vertical rotisserie so it was hot and fresh with a nice balance of crispy bits and tender ones, the seasoning was also perfect. I do wish the Doner bowl came with a bit of sauce, as it needed something to cut the richness a bit instead of needing to order a whole cup of sauce separately. For our drinks, a few of us ordered the Homemade Aryan, which was a perfect combo with our food, incredibly refreshing and tart. The only negative that I have to say, is that I ordered a Chicken Doner Wrap for lunch a few days later as takeout, and I'm not sure if it was intended, but there was either not enough or no sauce at all in the wrap, which made it quite dry. I also was not a fan of their use of Tortillas over Lavash for the wraps, the difference in flavor and texture was noticeable and detracted from the taste. All in all, I don't think I will be getting the wraps again, but that wasn't enough of a hit for me to take any points off for my overall rating. I still think it is a gem of a spot in SOMA and I will be back for a dinner soon and to try more of their bread, which is also quite fantastic.

Edited: they fixed everything the next time I came and treated me nice. The food in this restaurant tastes awesome but there is one issue. The atmosphere inside is so nice. The service was great and everyone is super friendly. I tried their chicken doner and I’ll rate it 5/5 in terms of flavour. The portion is big enough, comes with side salad and pickles (you can choose fries as well). However, the food came cold 🥶. That was the only issue I had. That’s why I’ll rate the restaurant 4/5.

First time here today and it was pretty good. Got a kofte kebab wrap which was $15. Pretty tender and seasoned well. Nice hummus and garlic sauce. Service was good too, chill waiter/owner. Want to give it 5 stars but felt like the size was kind of small for $15. And it was good but not mind blowing. I’ll come back to try more of the menu though. Also this place is in a pretty rough part of town so be a bit careful if you come here in person.

If you love Turkish food, this is the best spot in SF! Everything tastes just like back in Turkey, super fresh and authentic. The service is quick and the staff is really friendly. Definitely my go-to place when I’m craving Turkish food!

We went to Ararat Kebab & Gyros, but as we walked there from our hotel, we were greeted by a terrible sight and smell. Normally, I don't get put off easily, but there was a strong smell of urine everywhere, and the neighborhood looked very dangerous. The place itself is very small and could have been opened in a more reliable location. I ordered a wrap and honestly didn't like it at all. However, my spouse ordered a home-cooked chickpea dish, and it was truly delicious. I think this place would be much better if it focused on more authentic, traditional meals instead of wraps. Since I went with my family, we were a little scared while walking down that street. The place doesn't feel very suitable for families. If it were a bit more spacious, it might be a better option, but in its current state, I wouldn't choose to go back. We didn't return a second time and went to a different, safer place the next day. My advice for families is to use a taxi to get there—do not walk. The smell alone will make you feel sick and ruin your appetite before you even arrive.

This restaurant is honestly one of the best I’ve been to in the area. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a very friendly atmosphere. The staff are attentive without being overwhelming, and they really make you feel comfortable as a guest. The food was outstanding — every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that they care about quality and details here. The service was smooth and professional, and despite the restaurant being busy, everything was handled with patience and a smile. I also loved the overall vibe of the place. It’s cozy, clean, and perfect whether you’re coming for a casual dinner or bringing guests for a special occasion. It’s rare to find a restaurant that balances great food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment all at once, but this place absolutely does. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot where you can truly enjoy both the meal and the experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

I came all the way from Chicago and had the chance to try the pide here — it was absolutely worth it! The dough was perfectly baked, the topping was flavorful and fresh, and everything was served hot and well-prepared. The portion size was generous and very satisfying. On top of that, the place has a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely one of the best pide experiences I’ve ever had – highly recommended!

I ordered the chicken gyro wrap, which was truly delicious. The front desk lady provided excellent service—definitely a 10 out of 10. The food was prepared in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy tasty Mediterranean halal food.

I hate that this amazing spot is in the worst spot of the tenderloin lol. I called ahead for pickup and thieves were already trying to take my scooter. 😂 Once I got home the food was amazing. The rice pudding had incredible vanilla flavor. The kebab serving was perfect and delicious.

Stumbled on this spot and was seriously impressed. The Arabic food was incredible. It was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really stood out was the California twist. Fresh ingredients, creative touches, and nothing felt heavy or overdone. Every dish had its own personality, and everything I tried was just so good. You can tell they really know what they’re doing in the kitchen!

I love Reem's. I always get the Pali Cali which is delicious. The baba ghanouj and falafel were also great. The cheesy phylo dessert was also amazing. The staff was super friendly and the space was cozy and comfortably accommodated our group of 5 at 7pm on a Friday night. My only complaint is that the musician was loud.

We ordered through Doordash. We got Pali Cali (rolled up), Hummus with slow-roasted lamb, and Damascus Lemonade. Since we picked up right when it was ready and it was piping hot so we found a street to eat immediately. Cali Pali was so juicy. Surprisingly, I liked the pickled onions on the Cali Pali - they were sweet! The hummus with lamb was good but I wish we received more then one pita bread for it... I made sure I ate my fill to the fullest before letting my partner take their bite first!

GET THE PITA it’s thick and chewy and buttery omg. Cozy upscale dining. We sat at the bar. Bar seat is better than table seat. Better lighting and you can sit closer together. Waiter said bar seats you can get by calling to reserve two days in advance. Table seats you can get by calling two weeks in advance. Unless you’re a party of one - we had a person walk in and sit next to us Fried cheese - waiter drizzled lemon juice and it sizzled nicely. But it cooled too quickly and became boring to eat Babaganoush - good but not the best in the city. I liked the pickled veggies that came with it though Tzin spritz - ok, too much volume. I liked eating the berries. Waiter called them British boba 😂 Hibiscus mocktail - tart and delicious! Squash - forgettable, did not taste the pistachio butter Octopus - ok, did not come with tail Chicken - yummy and enough to feed two people We over ordered and could not finish the chicken. The waiter packed the chicken for us Food not worth the $200 total, you are paying for the ambience. Nice place to dress up for. Would be nice to just get drinks here also. There’s a fireplace with real fire and the overall volume is not too loud, you don’t have to strain to hear.

I saw other reviews recommending the appetizer lamb chops over the entrée version, and I did enjoy the appetizer one, they’re delicious, with a wonderfully crispy surface. The octopus dish is very tender, and both the whole fish and the zucchini cake are perfectly crisp on the outside. Overall, great textures and flavors!

Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and fantastic service. This is a must for any visit to SF. I ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer and the lamb chops, which were both stellar. My man ordered their saghanaki and chicken souvlaki, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He noted that both dishes were reminiscent of what he had in Greece, though of course Greece was a couple notches higher. Overall, do make your way to experience Kokkari.

The lamb is delicious. The soup was great too but the standout favorite was the pork belly appetizer. The drinks were solid and the wait staff was helpful but also very busy. I didn’t get to try the fish, but it looked good.

Recommended to us by a local, Kokkari’s provided an enjoyable dining experience on our last evening in San Francisco. The interior was spacious and ornate, with high ceilings and natural wood accents. Employees were gracious and attentive—we were greeted by a smartly-dressed host who showed us to our table and returned later to check in during our meal. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful in pointing out which dishes would be best given my wife’s gluten intolerance and my pescatarian/plant-based diet. We started with the Dolmathes, tender grape leaves bursting with a lemony whole grain rice. Following that, we had the grilled octopus—delectable bite-sized portions of tentacles marinated in lemon and olive oil. These would have been flawless had it not been for an excessive amount of fat. The handful of times I’ve had it before in other restaurants, octopus has always been lean and meaty. We followed that with bowls of Fakes, a tangy lentil soup in what seemed to be a tomato base. This was my favorite dish—the lentils were firm, the soup was piping hot, and it was an original take on lentil preparation. For a main course, we got both versions—one baked, one grilled—of the Sea Bass, which we split. Each one was tasty (although the grilled version was a little salty) and served as a whole fish but de-boned. The portions of potatoes, tomatoes, and Swiss chard that accompanied the fish tasted fresh and were tastefully seasoned. We finished with the sorbet and the flourless chocolate tort, both of which were delicious. Kokkari’s is a great place for a special dinner.

Definitely one of the best Greek restaurant in the city of San Francisco! The experience starts with the extraordinary interior design of the rustic vintage farmhouse, vibe filled with energy. There is a giant skewer of kebab oven in the center of the restaurant as well. Service is great, busy lively., the food is absolutely delicious. We got lamb and various veggies. The feta and watermelon salad is surprisingly good. highly recommend.

Great food. Prompt Service. Good location. Great value. (1) decent size menu with a good representation of authentic Turkish food. Mousakka and stuffed eggplant were good. Chocolate hazelnut pyramid was awesome (with ice-cream). Free bread is offered. It is good but nothing to write home about. (2) location off Mission is pretty convenient (3) atmosphere is great. While we went for a business dinner, seemed like a great location for a romantic meal (4) prompt, attentive service (5) Prices are reasonable for the quality and location.

I've been a huge fan of Tuba for for a few years now, and I wish there were more restaurants like this in SF. The service is friendly and attentive, and the Turkish menu options are unique and well made. I enjoy the fact that when I open the menu, there are a variety of Turkish dishes and wines I've not seen before at other restaurants. In particular, I'm a huge fan of the Cevizle Ezme as an appetizer. It's a bright mash of ground walnuts, bell pepper, tomato and various herbs and spices. They come as flavorful scoops that you can spread over the comforting, fresh bread that comes complimentary. For entrees, the Hunkar Begendi is my favorite. It's like a pureed eggplant that has the comforting texture of mashed potatoes, but with subtle eggplant chunkiness that I like. (I'm not usually a fan of eggplant, but I enjoy this dish.) The Sarma Beyti Kebab is also great: a juicy kebab wrapped in lavash (a thin bread), sliced and plated in an eye catching way, and with great dollops of tomato and yogurt sauce in the center. The kebab wrap slices are sized for great bites, and the sauces in the center add a lot to the flavor. Desserts and Turkish wines are great too. So many great and unique dessert options; the kunefe is my favorite. All in all, I enjoy this place as a unique presentation of Turkish dishes I can't easily find elsewhere elsewhere, and a place with great comfort food. Note: has good outdoor seating options with space heaters.

Good meze and good wine, in a plywood structure in a bike lane with a heat lamp. No complaints. Oh, also my dessert contained garbanzo beans. My dessert.

All the food we ordered was delicious. Walnut ezme was especially quite good. Turkish tea was a real "Turkish tea" not mix with other countries tea. They used real butter for the Kunefe as it should be. Cheese in the Kunefe was generous as well. Atmosphere is very relax and casual. Servers and stuff are professional. Overall it was a good experience.

Food is delicious. Service and vibe are no frills but fine. The Manti special is so good. A bit pricy in my opinion but I’ll be back for the food, just maybe not as often as I would be if it were 20% less expensive

Highly recommend! I come here often because it has great food, kind hosts, and ample space/seating. Very comfortable place to eat, sit and read or chat with friends. I’ve tried the rotisserie chicken, lamb shawarma, and kofta platter - all were delicious, though my personal favourite is lamb shawarma. A special shout out goes to the cashier worker/server who is always warm, smiling, and extremely welcoming! Really appreciate his kindness and hard work. Owner is also lovely.

Lots of indoor seating, a bit of outdoor seating. Just a note to the business: if you can make your signage any bigger or more visible, especially being on a corner, I think it would bring more business! I was following Google maps and still walked right past it and then had to backtrack because the signage wasn’t very visible to me. Another friend who frequents this area said she’s been around a lot of places and never knew a Mediterranean place was nearby. Y’all have great food- advertise more boldly if possible!

The food here was delicious. They treat you like you're at home, and they're very friendly. Their tables are large and the space is pleasant. Their menu also offers a variety of Syrian dishes.

Best falafel and hummus. The environment feels cozy yet spacious. I love this place, it’s a staple of lower Haight.

This was a good place overall. It is a bit more costly than you would want for what you get depending on your selection, but the staff was kind and the place was clean. It does feel a bit hollow inside, as if there is some missing personality like some hanging plants in the middle of the area or something. Maybe some more sturdy chairs and tables would be helpful... It feels like an alright place pretending to be a fancy place enough so that you just feel it tugging on your heart while you eat. Regarding the food, no complaints. A lot of the group-breakfast dishes are just simple servings placed into little ramekins, with bread and Shakshuka to justify the expense. Tasty... but again missing the personality that matches the price. The staff was kind, but it did feel a bit thin on presence as if they are delicately balancing paying staff against a tight budget, even if they're not. Everybody was really nice, but the attentiveness faded as more customers arrived. Ultimately, we liked it here and would go back periodically, but this isn't a must-attend place yet. They feel stuck in purgatory where they would need to either commit some money and evolve to the next level, but their attempts at overcharging to cover the gap feel like if they don't commit to growing up a bit that they might fade out as their customer base rotates away naturally with the ebb and flow of commerce. Right now you go here because you like Turkish Breakfast, not because the place is amazing.

Good but not as amazing as my expectations. The cauliflower and the eggplant toast were delicious. However the Greek scramble was a bit too doused in a red pepper or tomato flavor and we were quite unimpressed. The pita didn’t taste very store made and felt a bit stale. Everything was also undersalted. Most of the staff was abrupt/moving us along, but a couple staff waiters were very friendly. Really beautiful ambiance nonetheless. Great place for brunch with friends and family. Portions were decent but not massive.

Absolutely love this place! If you are vegetarian, their meal for 2 is a must! If meat is your preference, try the braised lamb, it’s unbelievable! Come with an appetite because the servings are portioned perfectly for a hungry patron. Must try: Hummus- rich, creamy, and a great appetizer to start with. For those who want to make a meal of it, try the warmed variety with braised lamb, absolutely amazing! Labneh- better than your Nine’s, it is a great appetizer to have with their tasty salad. Braised Lamb shank- It’s something you just have to try. It’s one of the best Mediterranean meat dishes out there. Moussaka- a vegetarian delight, the moussaka didn’t lack in flavor, quality, or portion size. Loved it. Vegetarian meal for 2- can’t describe how incredible the meal deal is. Please try it and come back and let me know how it goes.

We had an excellent dinner/date at Troya. We came because the meat is all Halal, and we were thrilled by how good the meal was. The dishes were beautiful, the service as attentive, and the restaurant was very comfortable. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for brunch on a whim and found our new favorite Mediterranean place! The atmosphere was great and the staff were very nice. It looks like a popular place so I’d recommend making reservations. We were just two so they were able to seat us just fine. The food was delicious and the portions were on the large side, at least for what we ordered. And there was a good variety of things on the brunch menu. We also had Turkish coffee which came with a delicious pistachio Turkish delight. I highly recommend Troya and we look forward to coming back.

I had an amazing experience at Troya for breakfast. The tea was wonderful, and the Turkish coffee was perfect—just how it should be. What really stood out, though, was the friendly and welcoming staff. They made the entire experience even more enjoyable with their warmth and great service. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an authentic Turkish breakfast!

Locoum and other desserts appear in the front window to entice you in. There is a cute exterior seating space and the indoor seating feels clean and welcoming with a spacious feel. The service was a bit low-staffed but they were very friendly, efficient and responsive so we were able to complete our lunch within the 1 hour window. Everything except the falafel salad was 4-5 stars. Good value for money on the starters.

It was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! It is so close to Golden Gate park, in a nice street to hang out or walk. The manager was suuuper nice and friendly, he even gave our group baklava on the house🥲 They were really comfortable and helpful with moving the tables and suiting in for our group, and also adding chairs and tables to outside patio so we could all sit together . We had appetizers, main dishes and dessert (baklava + tea) all were great. You would love their food if you’re interested in Mediterranean, Turkish or even Persian food (close). We had the combo appetizer plate that had a little of a lot of different dishes and was perfect to try new food and enjoy different tastes.

We have been there 3 times already and plan to go again soon too. We had a family dinner last night after city visit, and had some great meal. Food was perfect and owner/cashier served some appetizers on the house, which was wonderful. Always love their vibe, freshness and flavor of their food. Would recommend 100%

He's genuinely interested in each guests dining experience, deeply cordial, and the food was delivered quickly and efficiently. I wasn't expecting to have such an lovely dining experience. We came on a weekend, come early! The restaurant fills up fast. We arrived at 545pm and it was filled by 6pm. The food is great! We order Dolma, falafel, pita bread and lentil soup, Mansaf, Mousakhan and lamb chops. We ended off with Kunafa. The pita bread and lentil soup combination for starters is crazy good!! I personally love the Mousakhan, the chicken was well seasoned, everything was so gooood! I’m not a big fan of lamb meat but the lamb chops are great! We ended off the meal with Kunafa, o.m.g. this is the best I’ve ever had! The cheesy goodness mixed condensed milk and pops of pistachios for texture. Service was great and attentive. No problems with ordering or water refills. Would recommend and come again!

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted by a warm smile. The hostess suggested their patios and it was really lovely. Ordered Mansaf, which was a unique find, and was blown away but how tender the meat and flavorful it was. We also got their hummus with meat and it was fantastic. We got to talk with the owner, Ahmad, who checked up on us. He also offered us their special soft knafeh (which you can’t find anywhere else). It was indulgence in a bite! So buttery, sweet, and warm. A must visit in mission!

Customer service was poor; it took too long to receive the food, and staff were not polite. The meat seemed frozen rather than fresh and was tasteless. The only dishes I enjoyed were the lentil soup and kunafa.

Amazing spot for your fav meditteranean grills! Had the stuffed falafel with pinenuts and sumac. Stuff that into a pita with the complimentary tahini and onion sauce and it’s a meal on its own! Had the Shish Tavuk and it was so juicy and flavorful. Also had the mixed grill with 2 koftas and tawuk instead. Also great! Food was a lot! Such a welcoming place and staff! Will definitely come back to try other dishes

This is my favorite middle eastern food in the Bay Area, the Mansaf and the Kunafa are must try’s!!! The people working there are great as well.

De Afghanan Kabob House in San Francisco is a hidden gem offering rich, flavorful Afghan cuisine in a cozy setting. We visited as a family and were impressed by the tender kabobs, freshly baked bread, and aromatic rice. The portions were generous, and the food felt truly homemade. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, even during a busy evening. Tip: The place is small with limited seating, so consider arriving early or getting takeout. If you’re looking for authentic Afghan flavors in the city, this spot is definitely worth trying!

Sashi Singh my pal from down in Stillwater Canyon was in the city and invited me to dinner in this Afghani Restaurant he found. Well, I haven't had camel hump in years, so I said sure! We met up at De Afghanan Kabob House and had a great dinner. I have no idea what we ate because Sashi ordered for us, all I know is it wasn't organ meat, and it tasted pretty good. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Very friendly service. Very tasty food, in generous portions. Not the fastest, but they made the kabobs fresh to order, so they were hot and juicy. Rice was very aromatic. My husband enjoyed the spicy green sauce a lot (zhoug?).

We the received the kindest service. This was our first time trying Afghani food and the owner was very helpful and accommodating. He explained the dishes to us and the flavours. The food was mind blowing. So delicious. So fresh and the flavours were a whole new experience!! We are completely in love with this food thanks to this experience!! LOVED IT!!

The food is SO delicious!!! The beef and chicken Kabob skewers are so well seasoned, succulent, and juicy. My favorite part about the skewers is that they are charcoal grilled. The smokey scent from the Charcoal is just Chef’s kiss! The rice too! Every grain of them is deliciously soft, fluffy, and buttery. Yum! The salad is refreshing and perfectly balances the rest of the plate. And their baklava (a sweet dessert) is the best I’ve had. My husband and I were in town together last week. We tried their food for the first time, and liked the food so much we ended up going there twice. I went there again today on my own. The food is delicious every time. Jayhoon and Wida, the brother and sister who run this place, are such pleasant, delightful people. I’m honestly baffled why there are reviews saying the service isn’t good. Their service is awesome!

What a neat find on Authentic Afghan food in SF, The Chaplee Kabob and Dolani at 100/100. And what humble owner, makes you feel you are the only customer when the place is filled up.

It’s always a pleasure to have brunch at Lale! I highly recommend their Olso Scramble (my favorite) and their Dutch Baby pancake. A heads up that the Dutch Babies are limited, and I recommend that you visit on the earlier side to secure one. And what brunch is complete without fresh orange juice and strong Trukish coffee?! Lale has you covered!

Don't make me wrong - the place is good. Great service, nice vibe, the food is pretty good too. However the lentil soup was so sour and it was not the taste that I expected from this dish, so I need to take one star off.

Casual spot that wasn't too busy on a Saturday. Once our order was taken, the food was delivered in a reasonable time frame. Menu options read diversely. Portions were on the smaller side vs the price vs the competition. The Turkish coffee packed a punch with the sweet candy a nice offset. The interior was comfortable and comfortably designed.

Lale is my absolute favorite breakfast place. The ricotta french toast is so delicious and whenever I come back home from college I always get LaLe. Jose is the best server ever and always remembers my order too!

It had been over a year since I had been at Lale. I took some friends this time. It was 1 PM and there were not many people in the restaurant. I am not sure why the service was so off. Staff was not to be seen much of our lunch. Wow we ordered our cocktails after our food. They were brought to us after the arrived. They forgot plates to share with, and when they came back, they didn’t have enough. Food was marginal and portions were very small except for the salad. While ai loved the flavors of the falafel‘s. It seemed like they weren’t cooked fresh. it was a relaxing atmosphere. Last the bathrooms were horrendously dirty. Which is just a no in the restaurant business at any time of service as far as I’m concerned. Kind of embarrassing since I was the one that chose the place.

Nice cafe to visit. Quite a busy place so be ready for a wait. Lamb chops were delicious and so was the chicken Milanese sandwich! The chicken wrap and cigar shaped filo dough with spinach and feta were just ok. Nothing great. We also had some Turkish coffee which came with a sweet delight which was lovely. The coffee was ok. Overall good meal but surely would’ve liked it better if the staff had even a slightest smile on their face. The attitude seemed very dull and dry.

This is a hidden gem. Had their signature dish, Ricotta stuffed French Toast with a side order of real corned beef hash. This is definitely one of the best brunch places I have eaten in the whole West Coast. Casual dining and meet two new friends while dining. Service is excellent. Park in the nearby neighborhood. Very highly recommended!

The food doesn’t taste good. I suggest checking out other restaurants nearby. There is a Burmese restaurant near here and it’s incredible. Not the same cuisine, but you won’t regret. Just don’t waste your time here. The oil on the food tastes old and the hummus quality is low. These guys don’t know how to make middle eastern food.

We catered from them last month and we had an amazing meal! When I initially contacted them, they were extremely helpful in helping me order the right amount of food and adding vegetarian options. They were also reasonably priced for the amount of food we ordered. I definitely recommend if you are looking to get catering.

Absolutely outstanding experience with Sababa! We ordered boxed lunches for a large group event (44), and everything was incredibly delicious and fresh – our entire team loved the food and raved about it. What truly set them apart was the extraordinary service from Robert. He went absolutely above and beyond to help us with an unexpected logistical challenge on the day of delivery, even assisting with picking up items. Got the half chicken half falafel bowl, it comes w hummus, and a choice of 3 sides for around $15. Soooo filling, fresh and delicious. 12/10, highly recommend

These people have no idea how to cook Middle Eastern food…. Its like having eastern europeans thinking if you add $5 olive oil to some random vegetable paste its magically hummus! Go to a place thats more authentically middle eastern… without cheap olive oil Cashier was nice but music was trash.

Solid fast middle eastern food option. Quick, easy and tasty. Recommend checking out if you’re in the area and it’s what you’re feeling.

Nice big space with tall glass windows. So lots of sunlight. Doors remained open and good air circulation. The place is well maintained. Big wood tables and sturdy chairs. The service is wonderful too. The cashier welcomed us with a big smile and was helpful with explaining the menu. Now for the food review. It wasn't great. I had the Adana plate which is a rice plate with grilled spiced ground lamb patty. The rice looked like Chinese takeout fried rice with green peas and carrots. Not very authentic. The pita bread was so dry that the knife couldn't cut through it. The pickled red onions were good. The salad was very fresh and tasty. The Adana lamb was well seasoned and had flavor. But it was really dry and tough. Rubbery. Again the knife struggled to get through this. I've had this dish before many times but never had I had this much trouble cutting it up. So overall I'm going to say give this dish a miss. May come back again because it is so close to the bay and Chase Center but may try something else.

I’m so sorry, but are spices even in the room with us? Do spices exist here? Because these are the most bland kebab and gyro I have ever tried and they don’t come cheap too! The beef and lamb gyro was also dry! The lamb kebab was chewy and the rice was soggy (they don’t use basmati rice too). I appreciate that they served a piece of bread (that’s cold, dry, and as hard as a rock btw) but why are you pairing it with the SALTIEST chili sauce I have ever had - that was such an odd pairing. And how can you mess up chili sauce??? 😭 Extremely disappointing. I would probably be happier eating instant ramen than pay $50+ for something so MID AT BEST - edible if you’re desperate and you don’t have a choice. 10/10 would not go back here and would never recommend this place. Honestly, if it weren’t for the location, this restaurant would not last long. Edit: How did this place get 4.4 stars? Unbelievable - it’s either people in SF have terrible taste or these reviews were bought or written by bots.

I waited 30+ minutes for a salad. I wanted to dine in but I wasted my whole lunch break and was not a happy camper. Apparently the grilled chicken skewers take 30 minutes to cook. I asked for the salad to go and a kind gentleman (maybe the manager?) told me next time to get the sliced gyro chicken and that it would be faster. He also offered me free baklava to try. I ordered the milk pudding as well, which was ok. That being said... the chicken was delicious. Tender, juicy, great flavor. Only 3 pieces though, for $7. And the Greek salad was $13, which made it nearly $23 total after tax. This was not a $23 salad. Not even CLOSE. I guess that's just to be expected in the area since it's across from the Chase Center. But I won't lie, I was pretty disappointed with the size of the dish and the time it took. I appreciated the baklava gesture but couldn't eat it (gluten), so I gave it to a co-worker. 4 stars because of yummy chicken and kind gesture from manager, but waaaaay overpriced.

This is one of my favorite dining places in SF since the outside area is so pretty and expansive around the building. (The main photo is not the pretty area.) Also, I requested vegan food and they made a special eggplant wrap for me that was so fresh and delicious. My friends enjoyed their meat wraps, too. Was open even on New Year's Eve.

Whether you're looking to dine alone and stay connected on laptop, or with a friend and chat, or be festive with a group of friends or coworkers, this place has a spot or corner for you. The host is very friendly, the food is pretty tasty and the wait time is pretty reasonable too. I remember in a visit I was with a friend and we were really appreciative of finding this nice seemingly Turkish kebab spot, I guess the host was pretty appreciative of this recognition and offered us fresh free "appreciation tea" :) thank you!

This restaurant is an island of peace in the middle of a dense urban landscape. It is not facing the street, but rather a park-like enclave. There is plenty of shaded outdoor seating. The food is elevated lunch fare, carefully presented and reasonably priced. I received excellent mint tea in a large mason jar with a handle, and the Turkish coffee comes on a delightful ceramic tray. Baklava desserts are fresh, crispy, honeyed and yet not too sweet. I participated in a group lunch here, which was planned for about one hour, but after two hours, everyone was still comfortable and in no rush to leave.

Super tasty Turkish food that is as close to the ones you would find in Türkiye. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and organized dining area with indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to experience life in Türkiye in an afternoon.

Authentic Yemeni breakfast in the heart of SF. I had the egg omelette and the masoub — and let me tell you, the masoob was absolutely divine. Sweet, creamy, and unbelievably comforting — it tasted like dessert made by angels. Paired with a cup of hot Adeni tea, it was the perfect way to start the day. Yemen Kitchen is a hidden gem in the Tenderloin district. Arriving for Saturday lunch, we were greeted warmly by the owner/chef, who promptly started cooking after we placed our orders. The highlight of our meal was the roasted lamb - tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor. Served with spiced rice, a light salad, and stewed veggies, it was more than enough for two. We happily took the leftovers home for later. The stir-fry beef over hummus was a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The beef was impeccably cooked, tender and juicy, while the housemade sauce on the side added a subtle kick without overwhelming the palate. The soft Tawa bread was perfect for sopping up the rich flavors of the lentil soup and hummus. The Yemeni chai and Basbousa semolina cake) completed a truly satisfying meal. With prices so reasonable, it's clear that this is a place that values both quality and affordability. Places like this, with their resilience surviving through COVID and skillful culinary abilities, remind me why San Francisco is such a great city. This place is a little hidden gem. It's a little hole in the wall with excellent food. Also it's pretty cheap. I just love the Tumbaky (spicy mixed meat and liver dish served over rice). But if you don't like liver, they have many other flavorful dishes. Many dishes they serve are so flavorful and excellent.

One of my favorite spots in SF. Excellent traditional food and prices, especially for lunch time before 3pm. We usually get one roasted lamb dish which is enough for two people. Also the Chai is made to order, and still only $2. Hope they get to expand one day and bring their dishes to a wider audience.

I am a regular at Mezze and moore and always recommend it to my friends. I only took one star off because I was charged 4$ for a tiny bowl of Toum which is usually served with the plates& wraps based on my previous experience. Also, asked for black tea after food and got served green tea. Although we ordered 2 mezzes, bread wasn't served. We had to ask for it. We usually get a salad, some hot mezze and plates, but this time we went for the wraps. Love the chicken wrap; delicious and full of flavor. Not a big fan of the kofta. The meat quality was okay.

I bookmarked this spot a year ago, so after a nearby walk, we finally jumped at the chance to have lunch at Mezze and Mooore! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, Nabil, whose million-dollar smile sets the tone for this charming corner café. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices — especially in a time when lunch fare has climbed everywhere else. The interior is bright and welcoming, with beautiful tiled floors and plenty of windows that fill the space with natural light. When we heard the mint lemonade was made in-house, we had to try it — and it did not disappoint. I ordered the falafel platter, which was generous enough for two meals. The falafel were crisp on the outside, perfectly green and flavorful inside. As a self-proclaimed hummus snob, I can say theirs was outstanding — smooth, rich, and creamy. My friend ordered the lamb shawarma wrap and raved about how delicious it was. We finished with a piece of baklava, which was just the right amount of sweet and flaky. We’ll definitely be back — this spot is a true gem!

Fantastic food at really reasonable prices. They didn’t serve alcohol but said we were more than welcome to bring our own wine in. We got lamb plate, lamb salad, and chicken hummus plate. The chicken hummus with a little onion on pita was a little packet of heaven, like how my ex wife must feel when she gets her alimony checks every month. The pita bread was warm and toasty, unlike my ex wife’s heart. Very solid spot!

Not really a fan of the food here. Tried multiple items and overall they all felt too oily with a montonous flavoring. Even the dessert we tried, the kunafe was pretty one dimensional. Felt like it was just an overdose of sugar syrup and nothing else. The seating and management was also haphazard and chaotic. It was pretty much seat yourself wherever, order at the counter or via QR at table. However, this isn't clear on arrival and some patrons stand in line while others directly go seat themselves leading to different wait times and a scramble for seating during busy times. Prices are pretty reasonable which I felt is the only saving grace for us

Simply walked in to try out this place based ok Reddit recommendations, and it was a pleasant surprise We had chicken shawarma plate, chicken shawarma roll, hummus and pita. All the dishes were yum, and the ambiance was good too.

It was decent. I didn't like how firm the falafel was but Boi did I enjoy the eggplants on the falafel platter - definitely worth adding it to you platter. The House pita was.. Decent. All in all, was a good place to be. :) super friendly staff though.

My experience at Mezze Moore in San Francisco was disappointing. As first-time visitors excited to try Lebanese cuisine, we were let down by the unwelcoming staff. Seated in a corner, we were ignored, with no one taking our order. When we approached a staff member, he curtly remarked that we should’ve ordered online or come up, which felt rude and unnecessary. The lack of hospitality overshadowed the food, which was average at best. We expected a warm introduction to Lebanese flavors but left feeling neglected and underwhelmed. I hope they improve their service to match the cuisine’s potential.

If you’d never had central Asian foods, this is the pleas be to eat! Everything taste amazing. Will comeback

This is a place with a lot of history. It has been founded by the brother of president Hamid Karzai ( First post Taliban president in 2001 in Afghanistan). It used to be on Broadway. Food is always great. Atmosphere and design are ok. Very very friendly service. The hospitality experience is genuine and really represents how warm the afghani people are. They also have a very easy to navigate pick up menu- and of course also work with all the delivery services.

It is deeply disappointing to see the name of Afghanistan and “Afghan” being used in association with your restaurant when neither proper hospitality nor respect for culture is being upheld. I kindly suggest that you first improve your manners and customer service, and then work on the quality of your food and the cleanliness of your establishment. What you are serving as “Qabuli Pulao” is far from the traditional Afghan dish. In fact, it more closely resembles what is known in Afghanistan as Shorba Berenj (rice soup), which itself tastes far better than the meal you are presenting under the name of Qabuli Pulao. Furthermore, I strongly urge you to remove the name of Helmand—one of the most respected provinces of Afghanistan—from your restaurant’s title. Such misuse not only misrepresents Afghan cuisine but also harms the image of our culture. Please do not follow the unfortunate example of others in the industry who tarnish the name and heritage of Afghanistan for profit.

The grilled chicken bowl was really good. The chicken was cooked very well with flavorful spices. My only gripe is that the dish was a bit too salty overall, and some of the flavors were a bit too strong.

Can’t appreciate this place more! Every time I yearn for Mediterranean food Sumac has been my place. Home away from home. The food I eat reminds the food my grandma used to make back home in the Mediterranean. They are always adding more top-notch items on their menu. I tried most of the items on the menu, I even catered food for some of the events I organized; go for it you will never be disappointed!!!

Man this place is as good as it's rubbery meatballs. It's not that bad, but my god the serving sizes make no sense. I finished all the meat and just had a giant bowl of chickpeas and rice left... it was so dry I couldn't finish it. The wrap was better but for $19 I've had better food at McDonald's.

One of the best smells in the city is walking past this small to-go shop. The kofte bowl comes with five meatballs, rice and a delightful chickpea side dish. I really enjoy the collard soup from “soupchu”, the sister restaurant living in the same place. Their variety of dips and sauces (hummus, cacik, muhammara) are quite flavorful, ranging from creamy to sweet and sharp. The prices are as steep as the hill the restaurant is on top of, though they aren’t unheard of in this area. The issue with this place is that they regularly forget stuff or don’t communicate when they run out of things. One time, we ordered (paid for) extra pink sauce and it didn’t come in the stapled bag. Another time, they didn’t include utensils like they usually do. Last time, they didn’t give us the acme bread that came with our soups. Hope they iron that out at some point.

I came here after a workout looking for a healthy and quick meal in the Russian Hill area. We got the chicken salad and the kofte (meatballs) with rice. Both dishes were super delicious and come packed with veggies. The sauces were also super yummy. This spot just opened up and the owners are really nice. I def recommend if you’re looking for something delicious, quick and healthy!

Stopped for a quick bite. The food was super fresh and flavorful in the right ways. Honestly better than most fancy restaurants we have been going to in the last month in SF. I’d rather eat here for a fraction of the price than go to another one of those restaurants that look good but taste horrible. Why does this place have three separate names / aliases as if it’s a fugitive on the run ? Today they added a fourth name - gastrobot; Perched at the top of Russian Hill, pilgrims climb the steep hills to get to this apparent Holy Grail of Middle Eastern food; I am perplexed as their Red Lentil Balls Rice Bowl incinerated my mouth and I had to call the fire department . Their best dish is the dips and the classic hummus but if you try asking for extra pita from them, they will demand your first born; Photos also show Beautiful houses and scenes around this place !

I ordered Too Good To Go 3x Surprised bags. I supposes to pay 30% of the selling price of the food. Geary Kebab charges $5.99 for each bag, meaning, if you pay regular price, each bag costs $17.97. I got 3 small tiny boxes. This place should be cancelled from Too Good To Go Program. See the photos attached. This is what I paid for $19.53 Too Good To Go price.

Overall the food was good, I got the lamb and beef gyro and while the meat was quite tasty it was dosed in oil which made a mess over the plate. The bread it was wrapped in was kind of stale and dry not like a traditional soft crispy pita bread. We went at a busy time but they were able to serve us quickly, this place is open late too so good for late night eats.

The place had a decent rating, so i wasn't worried. It turned out to be surprisingly disappointing. Food was very mediocre, and serving sizes were small. After spending over 45 bucks for two people, we left the place still hungry. The place was practically empty on a Saturday evening- should have taken that as a sign! There was some sort of bad smell in the restaurant that was very off-putting. From reviews, it seems like it used to be better, but it looks like it has gone downhill. Don't plan on coming back and wouldn't recommend it to others.

I’m Lebanese and our food has a lot of Turkish influence because of the Ottoman Empire so I know what this food should taste like. Ngl the signage and vibe inside is misleading. The food is not only incredibly delicious, you can tell the quality is extremely high. We ordered one of every kabob and nothing was dry or funky. Everything was juicy and obviously fresh (not frozen) and cooked to order. I’ve been to too many places that pre make their kabob and microwave them once ordered. This isn’t the case. The side dishes and dips were amazing. The flatbreads tasted like the ones I’d get in rural areas of Lebanon. I couldn’t believe how authentic and delicious they were. The falafel were moist and not dry and oily. We literally didn’t eat one thing that didn’t blow my socks off. I loved every bite I took. Also, get the kanufe. I expected it to be some frozen dessert that they may have made in advance, but somehow it was fresh and the cheese was still stretchy. Not sure how they keep it fresh because it’s a very delicate dish that is made in a huge tray but it was. LOVE THIS PLACE. It’s quintessentially a local hole in the wall.

This is the best Kebab House, Turkish Restaourant in San Francisco. Not only taste, but also hygiene. The staff is so gentle. It is a family owned business, the lady is in the kitchen so everything is cooked with compassion. If you are loooking for clean and tasteful restaurant this is the right place. While you are eating, you can chat with your companion easily, the restaurant is quiet.

The Adana was good, but the salmon dish didn’t taste fresh, including the salad. The Pide was okay, it was hot and obviously done upon order. The service is not up to par, I am not encouraged to try something else from this place.

We came as a family while in San Francisco. We heard really good things about this restaurant from our friends and decided to try it out. The meat was really well cooked and the taste was exactly what we expected. It was the genuine taste that we missed and longed for. The owner and staff were super friendly and welcoming. I'm very selective about my food but in the 15 years I've been in the US, I haven't had food this fresh and fulfilling. The prices are worth the meal and are every affordable. If you are in the San Francisco area, don't miss out on this awesome place.

I really enjoy this place — have been twice. we got a spot without a reservation during prime time. Ambiance is nice with a fireplace and fancy table cloths. Good wine, reasonable prices. We enjoyed the Persian dinner for 2 — the chicken was very good! Also enjoyed the eggplant appetizer and meat.

The kebab was disappointing, but the other dishes were quite good. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Armenian coffee — rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.

MAKE RESERVATIONS. Always saw this place busy and tried walking in for an early dinner when there were few customers... Couldn't even get a table, but they were kind enough to arrange a spot in the outdoor area. Food wise, tasted amazing! Never had Persian food before, so I don't have a good comparison, but the dishes were flavorful, meet very tender and the eggplant was divine! It's on the pricy side, but definitely worth a try!

Was very excited about this place given the wonderful ambiance and welcoming staff. The food however, was incredibly subpar and not worth the price for almost any of the dishes. Almost all of the apps, bread, dips are served cold with very limited seasoning or flavor. For example, the panir dish is some cold salad, nuts, and cold feta. The labneh also lacked much flavor. The menu options were also quite limited and often just variations of the same. The highlight item - kebabs - are served with 90% plain rice and very limited yellow rice. While the kebabs themselves were good, it wasn’t anything to write home about. The menu needs a lot more variety, substance, and most importantly, more hot dishes! The servers were incredible however, were very kind, prompt, and accommodating.

Ambiance: The place has a lovely patio and a cozy, welcoming interior, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Service: Incredibly friendly staff with amazing service that made the experience feel warm and inviting. Food: The Fesenjoon was absolutely outstanding — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Baghali Polo was good, though I wish the sauce had a more full-bodied consistency. Overall, a wonderful Persian dining experience.

First time trying Persian food and it was so delicious! I ordered the kobiddeh kabob and the meat was so juicy and flavorful. The dough on the bottom catching the flavors was a perfect ending for a delicious meal. Really enjoyed the atmosphere as well.

Doesn’t feel like authentic Persian place since the crew are all non-Persian and even the design has nothing to do with Persian tradition but a painting of Manghal with Kabab’s grilled on top of it. Barg was really good if you add a bit of salt (8.5/10) Koobideh was 7/10 since the proportion of beef was more than it should’ve been.

Stopped by for dinner last night and we're blown away at how delicious everything was. The service was friendly and kind. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. We ordered promptly and food came out quickly but gave us enough time to enjoy the items we ordered. Portions were huge and priced fairly. This is the place if you are looking for a delicious meal with friendly people!

Love the atmosphere and wall painting make you feel like you’re fully immersed in yourself in the culture and food! Love the Mint Tea and Turkish Coffee wasn’t good! We ordered combo plate with hummus and basket of pitas which was good. The falafel was okay not what we were looking for. But everyone there was very friendly and nice!

I recently had one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my life at this place. The falafel was dry and lacked flavor, easily the worst I’ve ever had. The hummus, which is usually a highlight in Middle Eastern cuisine, was bland and unpleasant — it tasted as if it had been sitting out for hours. It doesn’t have any taste feels tasteless. It felt like the entire focus of the meal was to promote their olive oil, which was overused and overwhelming in every dish. The chicken, which was supposed to be shawarma, came out as plain, tasteless chicken bites — completely missing the traditional spices and preparation you’d expect from authentic shawarma. It was not only flavorless but also drenched in oil, making it heavy and unappetizing. The fries were no better; greasy and soggy, they seemed like they had been sitting in oil far too long. The only redeeming part of the meal was the pita bread, which was fresh and warm, and the two accompanying dipping sauces that came with it. Unfortunately, that wasn’t nearly enough to make up for the overall poor quality of the food. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying Mediterranean meal.

Wonderful experience. Everyone was very nice. I had chicken shawarma and baba ghanoush, both of which were very good. But, the best by far, or the fresh, made in-house pita. Couldn’t get enough of them.

The best Shish Tavuk in SF I love the stuffed falafel that pair so well with the homemade sides (tahini with parsley and garlic and sauce with onions)

Abu Salim Middle Eastern Grill is an absolute culinary treasure. The food is phenomenally authentic, from the creamy, perfectly balanced hummus to the incredible Mixed Grill. The chicken shish tawook was juicy and smoky, and the lamb chops were tender with a masterful blend of spices. The meal reached new heights with their kunafa, which is the best I have had outside of the Middle East, featuring stretchy cheese and crispy pastry with just the right amount of fragrant syrup. The service is warm and attentive, with staff who genuinely care about your experience. The quality of every ingredient and the obvious passion in every dish makes Abu Salim a true standout. I cannot recommend this gem highly enough and will be back again and again.

Food is quite good. A lil pricey and it seems like the menu price vs the price they charge you is different. Regardless, the staff was super poilite.

This restaurant is a true culinary gem and easily one of the best Mediterranean experiences in the city. Its fantastic location offers a tranquil escape from the usual hustle and bustle, a feeling complemented by the seamless and excellent service. The menu is a delight. The watermelon and halloumi salad was a testament to fresh ingredients, proving to be incredibly succulent. The skewers were expertly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth tender, served alongside perfect lavash. To cap off a flawless meal, the dessert was wonderfully decadent. For anyone in the city, this is an absolute must visit.

Turkish cuisine but varied/mixed with different spices and flavors. Highly recommending breaking bread, artichoke, kayseri manti, cop sis skewer for appetizers. The meat choices are really good; especially slowly cooked lamb shoulder (keshkek is fantastic). Really good ambience, good service and good drink options. Price/performance is also great. Some notes: the borek (wish they had more cheese flavor), manti (got a little bit too much of the tomato paste taste in the sauce) and artichoke (would reduce the orange flavor a little bit). Highly recommended place!

Dalida for me is definitely the best restaurant in the Bay Area. I have had dinner and brunch there more than 10 times and the experience has always been impecable: the food, the staff, the ambiance… everything is always on point. Menu has changed a bit with time, but with every new dish I try I just get a reassurance on why this place is still my favorite. Don’t leave without trying the breaking bread, that fluffy pita is to die for 🤤

Beautiful restaurant with great dishes. We opted for the chefs tasting menu which had some delicious dishes but didn’t have a lot of the dishes that the restaurant seems to be known for (with the exception of baking bread). They only brought out one entree, and it was their pork dish. It was good but I wish they at least allowed us to try another one of their mains. Didn’t feel like a good representation of the restaurants best. The chefs counter was fun to sit at, I always enjoy watching the chefs work their magic

An awesome restaurant and bar with an authentic yet modern Mediterranean vibe. The foods and drinks are just amazing. Especially the wild pistachio coffee, which I'll never forget and can't wait to try again! The staff is also super friendly and professional.

Most of the food is excellent. Came for brunch. The octopus and sujuk and the scallops were amazing and the big hits of the meal. We loved the non caffeinated pistachio coffee (wish they offered it in a larger cup). The pancake (su berek) was underwhelming and the kebab was disappointing. Dining room was great, and spacious and airy. But the the bathrooms were gross. Went twice and it was smelly and gross.

We had a great dinner date here at Dalida. The location is pretty great, inside the Presidio next to one of my favorite parks in the city. Our reservation was at five when they first open and it was busy right away. All the food dishes we ordered were very tasty and didn’t leave any food for leftovers. My least favorite part of the meal was the bourbon drink I ordered, which was mostly ice and mint leaves for $20. Id love to come back again and try more of their menu options.

Excellent food, speedy and friendly service. Dining area is quite comfortable and nicely decorated - notably better than expected for an otherwise casual restaurant. Definitely worth visiting regularly. They also have Dubai Chocolates if you’re looking for those 😉

It was late after a show we were hungry with no place to go. We googled restaurants and found this spot. What a refreshing little place. The food was fantastic, the service was fast, the place was clean, and the owner was a wonderfully kind man who met our every need. I highly recommend anything on the menu as well as the hot tea and all the wonderful deserts.

Very nice little Turkish cafe. I had the lamb and beef gyro. The hot sauce was very tasty and not too spicy. They have some items off the menu, such as Iskandar (my favorite) so check the order kiosk if you're looking for something else. The proprietor and employees were very friendly and the cafe was clean.

I thought the portion size of the Doner was a little bit small. The fries were probably oversized portion lol. I got the beef and lamb doner and it was super good. Good flavor. Got an order a fries and they have some type of seasoning on top that was absolutely fantastic. I really do think they should add a couple more ounces of meat and veggie. Every doner I ever got when I was in Turkey was stuffed and fat.

More like 4.5 stars. Great neighborhood joint just off the loin. Staff is nice and helpful with questions. Good portion/price ratio. Doner meat had lots of flavor and good body, rice is smooth and buttery, salad could stand on its own with fresh veggies and a light vinaigrette that complemented well. Pita looked store bought but tasted very good. Chill neighborhood vibe and open fairly late. This makes our go to for the area

The Best Kebab in Town! Berlin Doner and Kebab House is an absolute gem! The moment you walk in, the aroma of fresh ingredients and sizzling meat instantly gets your appetite going. I ordered the classic doner kebab, and it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly seasoned, the bread was warm and soft. The sauces? Out of this world—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and quick. You can tell they care about delivering quality food with a smile. If you’re craving authentic, delicious kebabs, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back regularly—highly recommend!

Another gem in the San Francisco. Super fresh dishes, enjoyed everything. Very reasonable prices. And if you are lucky enough, the owner will let you try special meal called Cig kofta.

If you are looking for authentic, true Turkish food, then this is the spot! On the corner of Sutter, this is a really great spot to come to and not only relax, but have a great meal. Came here at about 10 or 11 AM and we were one of the only people dining in for breakfast. Menu is straightforward with a good variety. We were able to just go to the register and order and the wait time for our food was not very long. Everything was well cooked and there Was so much flavor. We didn't have to add much salt or pepper. my meat lovers plate was very delicious. It was nice to have a meal I knew I would like and be able to sample off of the other two meals we ordered. We pretty much cleaned our plates. That's how good the food was! The really nice and the service is very fast so please give it a try if you're in the neighborhood

The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was very friendly. The only issue with dining in the restaurant is the poor air quality and the lack of air conditioning. When the chef grills, the entire restaurant fills with smoke, making it hard to breathe. Other than that, it’s a wonderful, cozy little restaurant with great-tasting food. We paid a total of $60.34.

My lamb & beef gyro plate was delicious but unfortunately was not even hot which is disappointing because the pita bread was hot and the salad was good. The creamy tzatziki was delicious when paired with the pita bread and meat together but the place had me feeing as if I was eating in my house alone as the lady that took my order disappeared while I sat alone with know one to look at but the cook. The decor was nice and the bench seats were comfortable but I can’t get over the sense of emptiness I felt while eating.

Ordered the gyro plate for delivery. Meat was tasty and well seasoned but was a bit overpriced from what I assume are the third party fees The jarred pickle chips on the salad were humurous. I probably wouldn't order again unless I could manage my own pickup - assuming the price is more reasonable

I hate leaving low reviews for small businesses, but I feel like I need to let other people know that the 4.5 this place has is not accurate. The interior is not clean - there were flies buzzing around everywhere, the booths were covered with crumbs, and there was a bit of a foul smell. It was also freezing cold inside. But we were willing to look past this, and give the food a taste. We ordered the chicken skewer wrap. It was pretty good, not anything outstanding. The fries were good. But we also ordered the baklava, and there were something seriously wrong with it. It tasted like acetone or cleaning products… both me and my partner had to spit out what we put in our mouth. It was as if it was baked inside a pan that the cleaning products had not been washed out of. I’m very sad to write this review, because my hopes were very high and the reviews and pictures look so good. But that is not the experience I had.

This place is SO good! The chicken gyro plate was full of perfectly seasoned chicken with the nice roasted bits from the way it’s cooked, generous portion of fluffy rice and pita, with really tasty side of tzatziki and chili sauce. The side salad was also prepared well fresh romaine and diced tomato and cucumber with a light dressing. Another shout out for this delicious pita too, it’s the pillowy warm kind The dining space is super cute and stylish too

COME HUNGRY! The food was delicious. The meat was tender, the hummus was so creamy and Baklavas were simply delicious. I usually don’t like dolmas, but these were so good that I ate 3 of them. Very attentive service with good recommendations. Super Cute Greek vibe and it’s in the heart of the Mission! Can’t wait to come back with my friends again!! So much fun!

I recently visited Gyros and Tzatziki with some friends, and despite seeing the 4.4-star rating on Google, it was a huge mistake to rely on the reviews. The food was absolutely awful. The lamb and beef were dry and chewy—about as enjoyable as eating old work boots. To make things worse, the food was served cold, not even lukewarm. It was clear that it had been pre-cooked and left sitting in the refrigerator. There was no freshness or quality whatsoever. The so-called "Greek" food was a disgrace. Real Greek cuisine has nothing in common with what they serve here. On top of that, the customer service was non-existent. With so many better options along 24th Street, I can’t understand how anyone chooses to eat here. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Gyros and Tzatziki. It’s a major disappointment and definitely not worth your time or money.

One small drawback: the acoustics. The high ceiling makes it a little tricky to have a soft-spoken conversation. Still, a solid experience overall, especially if you’re looking to enjoy a slow, relaxed meal.

Very good food! This was a great find for us. We are visiting from out of town and just googled healthy food and found this place. We had 6 of us eat here, all different orders and all of us were extremely pleased with our meal. And the owners are amazingly kind and friendly.

It was my first and last experience. This place should never represent Turkish food. I was disappointed. I ordered meatballs and rice. It was the worst meatball I have ever eaten. It was dry and tasted bad. The rice was uncooked and hard. I went and complained to the lady there. I asked why your meatballs were like that. She said she didn't know. She talked nonsense. I really couldn't believe it. They would never eat the food they gave me. Don't throw your money away. Never go there!!!

Fresh, tasty, and well cook donor. We ordered the combo donor plate and the beef and lamb donor plate. Both are freshly cooked. Their salad marinate is super tasty. Service is 4 stars as they are a bit slower compared to other places in the mall. Worth the wait but they could parallelize orders more.

I ordered the P1 combo, it was amazing.It was so colorful and packed with flavor. There was also plenty of bottled drinks to pick from, and helpful recomendations as well. The staff was kind and attentive, and made me feel comfortable after traveling all day.

I tried this place for the first time and was a little nervous because I’ve never had Turkish food and there wasn’t anyone in line but I am SO happy I gave them a shot! I tried the chicken wrap and it was so bomb, I went back the next day and got another chicken wrap and tried a gozleme. Only bummer was that it was supposed to be the ground beef one and I received the chicken one, but it was super yummy! The guy working the counter was super friendly as well. I wish more of these places existed because I don’t live in the area and I’m already craving it again! Please open more locations near Sacramento and Chico!

I've tried other wraps in the city, but this is my favorite that I keep coming back for. Great service as well.
