Tony's Pizza Napoletana is a bustling Italian eatery offering a wide range of pizza styles, from coal-fired to Roman-style, along with a selection of beers on tap. The restaurant features 12 different styles of pizza on the menu, showcasing the expertise of 13-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani.
Long line! It takes 1:30 when I got into waitlist #60. The service is fine. As it is very busy, I appreciate their service but it is not outstanding. Filled our water once that is it. Took ~10 min to after asking to get a cheese powder. But the pizza is wonderful! We tried Margherita, pizza Porto and Cal Italia. Porto is our favorite. Marg is also very good. Cal Italia is a bit salty and the crest is not as soft as the former two. I think it is due to the oven temperature of this style “Italian classic”. You may like this style. Try it and you will not regret!

We had reservations for lunch. Otherwise there’s a long wait time. But it’s worth the wait. Pizzas were very good! I have only tried vegetarian ones. I loved their zucchini flower fritters and other appetizers! The tomatoes in them are exceptionally tasty! Cheese is delicious. It’s a lot of good food that needs good workout later though.

We waited about 40 minutes to be seated at Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, but honestly, we didn’t mind because I had heard so many good things about this place. The service was excellent, our waitress Nareerud was patient, friendly, and really took the time to explain the menu and our selections. We were seated outside, which was a nice atmosphere even though the space felt a bit tight. As for the food, I ordered the Little Kahuna, which is basically a Hawaiian-style pizza with bacon and honey. I asked for everything except the honey, but unfortunately the pizza just wasn’t for me. The bacon wasn’t fully cooked to my liking, and I didn’t care much for the ham either. For me, it could’ve been cooked longer. Considering the pizza was around $33, I wasn’t impressed and would rate it about a 5/10. That being said, I noticed the dishes being served to the tables around us looked amazing and much better than what I picked. I honestly think I just chose the wrong pizza. Based on the service, ambiance, and the other food I saw coming out of the kitchen, I would still recommend Tony’s…I’d just try a different pizza next time.

The pizza here is delicious! There’s a huge variety to choose from, so everyone can find something they like. The calamari was one of the best we’ve ever had—crispy and full of flavor. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is nicely heated. It’s a bit pricey, and parking was hard to find, but the food made it worth it. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, put our name in on Yelp, and the estimated wait time was about 35 minutes.

This place is a must! It was amazing. We got the meatballs, fried ricotta stuffed squash flower and the Napolitano margarita pizza. So so so good. We have traveled multiple times to Naples, Italy and this pizza took us back. The wait was long but we went during the Italian Heritage Parade. Worth the wait since we were able to enjoy the festivities and for a text when our table was ready.
Brittany B — Google review
We got the Detroit and the coal fire - the Detroit was impressive, fresh tomatoes and the Parmesan crusted edge was crispy but not burnt - very tasty. My only complaint (and this happens with a lot of pizza spots) is they put a salad on top of the pizza - I find it completely unnecessary. But that can just be customized. The coal fire was thin and charred well but too many toppings and it just got too floppy. I think the New York style or New Haven style would have been better to order. I did like the pepperonis on it though. Also, 2 pizzas is enough for 4 people. Kinda wish they had smaller versions of pies so you get to try more.
Sameet S — Google review
Dinner at Tony’s in San Francisco was a win! The pizza and pasta were both amazing (and HUGE — seriously, come hungry). Staff were super friendly and kept things running smoothly. Definitely a place we’d come back to.
The T — Google review
This is the quintessential Italian eatery with a lively atmosphere and great service. The portions are big and the food is very delicious. We had the classic pepperoni and the classic cheese and bacon pizzas along with lasagna and carbonara. The pizzas were perfectly cooked with a nice crunchy crust. The pasta was cheesy and filling. Well recommend.

Del Popolo is an intimate, rustic-chic pizzeria in Nob Hill that started as a food truck and has now evolved into an upscale dining spot. The restaurant offers Neapolitan-style pizzas with crispy blisters on a chewy interior, made with a sourdough starter for a distinct flavor. The open space features a big, blazing oven where the deliciously caramelized crusts arrive laden with traditional and California cool toppings.
Can in for a quick dinner before seeing a show and service was super quick and friendly. Charred beans were delicious and the potato pizza was a great mix of flavors. Food came out quickly and back patio was so nice! Great atmosphere.

Solid pizza + wine bar near the SF Masonic. Came with a friend around 5:30 p.m. on a Thursday. I recommend making reservations, as they fill up quickly, even on weeknights! The weather was beautiful, so we snagged a table in their garden patio. We ordered meatballs and the shishito peppers to start, and corn pizza to share. For drinks, my friend ordered a glass of their Vouvray Chenin Blanc, while I took advantage of their non-alcoholic options and tried an NA Negroni and a glass of their NA Riesling. The wines (both regular and NA) were top-tier, especially the Riesling which paired perfectly with the pizza. However, I could pass on the NA Negroni next time. While it was beautiful to look at, it lacked flavor and was too sweet for my taste. The meatballs were surprisingly amazing. They had a rich, savory flavor and were definitely worthy of a repeat order. The pizza crust had a nice chewy char, but the jalapeno and corn flavor combination was a bit boring. The sweetness from the corn felt flat, almost like canned kernels sprinkled on top after the pizza was baked. Perhaps charring the corn beforehand would elevate the flavors here? Overall, Del Popolo is a solid dinner spot if you're already in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way for a visit. If you go, enjoy the wine selection and those meatballs!

THE BEST WOOD FIRE PIZZA I’VE EVER HAD! Hats off to the guys stretching the dough bc it’s not chewy at all even to the last bite. I got the pepperoni and the tomato sauce was exquisite. I also added red onions which gave me a one way ticket to flavor town. Don’t hesitate to come here as the staff (shout out to Jordan) is also super friendly!

Amazing! Discovered it during a stay at the Fairmont up the street. Was joining for authentic Italian and was not disappointed. Excellent food, staff and vibe! Can’t wait to go back.
Sandy A — Google review
The pizzas were very good. The fries were good but nothing special. We got a table on the back patio and glad we did. It would have been too loud inside.
Bill O — Google review
We were really excited to try Del Popolo, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The restaurant was full, so we decided to order to-go — they didn’t have pepperoni, so we went with Margherita. Unfortunately, it was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. The dough was extremely sour, and the sauce was so salty it overpowered everything. I rarely write bad reviews and usually enjoy almost any pizza, but this was a complete miss. Sadly, it felt like a total waste of money.
Olga N — Google review
Disappointed. Dough was unfortunatly underfermented and underproofed - so it lacked flavour and had a bad thick and doughy texture. The pizza had a good char from the woodfire oven and the tomato sauce + cheese was decent. However it was probably the most expensive pizza I have ever had anywhere im the world, but the quality and craftmanship didn't justify its price point at all. Also as an international traveler I must point out that the tipping system here in the USA confuses me alot. I read from many sources on the internet you are supposed to tip 20 %, so thats what I did herr. But then when you go to different restaurants/bars, you are "suggested" to tip continously varying percentages or amounts based on how many taxes or other fees they decide include in the bill. It is very confusing.
John O — Google review
My aunt and I came here for dinner on a recommendation from a server at another bar. We were so impressed, the atmosphere and the food were top-notch. We only shared a pizza, but I will definitely be back!

Pizzetta 211 is a cozy pizzeria located in the Richmond District, known for its handcrafted thin-crust pies featuring seasonal ingredients. The small space is often crowded with patrons eager to savor the chewy, blistered pizzettas prepared by skilled pizzaiolos in the tiny exhibition kitchen.
Awesome community spot with a beautiful patio and lovely but cozy interior seating area. Seasonal/periodically changing menu with thoughtful and unconventional options. Pizza/pizzettes were so good they caught me off guard- like damn great. Highly recommend!
Gav — Google review
I can't hate this place. This is where my girlfriend and I had our first date two years ago. The pizza hits the spot and the ambiance in the small restaurant is so cozy. With just 6 tables, this small joint has a rotating menu with unique pizzas that will surprise you and keep you wanting more. Pro Tip: bring loved ones 9/10
Asher W — Google review
Elevated experience of having pizza in a quiet neighborhood! The pizza here is thin crust so you can enjoy the well-thought, fresh ingredients on the pie. At the same time, the crust is so enjoyable that you finish them all without crumbs left. The nice thing is that even pepperoni pizza feel upscaled, yet a kid can enjoy and get some more. The dessert here is quite decent too. They have small menus but the pizza flavors are well thought out. I definitely would like to try more combo!
Tee P — Google review
Great place in the Bay Area and well worth a visit. Great patio for outdoor seating and a small but cosy indoor seating area. The pizzas were so good. We got the braised artichoke, pesto, walnut and feta, and the lamb sausage with harissa and smoked mozzarella. Both 10/10. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Kate G — Google review
Best pizza spot in the Richmond. Their pizzas are all fantastic (on the crispier/thin side) and their daily specials are always awesome (although a bit expensive for what you get). The melon feta salad was incredible with a mix of feta, melon and a red onion vinaigrette.
Nicholas P — Google review
This place definitely moves at its own pace, for better or worse. When we arrived, the host spent a couple of minutes finishing a personal conversation before acknowledging us, which felt unprofessional and set the wrong tone from the start. Service throughout the meal was very slow. Our party of four waited a long time for food, and the pizzas didn’t come out together. By the time mine finally arrived, my friends had already finished eating, so I ended up taking most of it to go. Our server did seem attentive, and the food itself was decent, good, but not great. My pizza had quite a bit of yellowing arugula (see pic) that I had to pick through. If I were to try this place again, it would be strictly for takeout. Also worth noting: there’s a 4.5% flat fee added for employee health.
Allison H — Google review
The service was amazing, rhe server is soo nice and attentive. The pizza was good, crispy thin crust, sauce had a soft taste pretty good, the ingredients were really fresh and tasty!
Marino C — Google review
Honestly, I don’t get the hype about this place. The pizza was thin crust but had no real flavor, and the dough felt cheap. For the price they charge, I expected something way better. The staff have a really poor attitude. It’s like they’re doing you a favor by serving you instead of actually caring that you’re there. On top of that, there’s a stray dog they’ve adopted that just wanders around the restaurant and sometimes gets between people’s legs. Very annoying when you’re trying to eat. The indoor seating is uncomfortable, and when I went, there were maybe two or three actual diners, while five or six people (looked like staff or their friends) were just hanging around chatting. The whole vibe felt awkward and unprofessional. Overall, not worth it. Around $70 for two pizzas with average taste and poor vibes is just absurd. Nothing great about this place.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious slice of Detroit-style pizza, look no further than Square Pie Guys. This vibrant, two-level eatery has quickly become a favorite since its launch just before the pandemic, now boasting three locations including a flagship spot at Ghirardelli Square. Known for their thick and fluffy crusts topped with inventive ingredients, their pizzas are perfect for those cozy nights in front of the TV.
I ate at their SOMA location and it’s always clean and inviting inside. The service is great and the pizza is always spot-on amazing. I recommend their green goddess sauce too for herbal taste and anchovy zing. Great for anyone near or in downtown. They’re also available for delivery, too! Cheaper than DoorDash and other delivery services and still hot when it’s delivered (yes, I dined in and also later ordered delivery the same day—the grubby pie is THAT good!).
Frankie G — Google review
Pizza looked good when i picked it up, I could smell something burnt, After my first bite, i could taste the burnt bottom. Flipped it over and could see the burnt bottom. Was so hungry, I ate 2 pieces, and washed them down with soda. Now i have burnt pizza after taste in my mouth,... dang wanted to like the pricey pizza,.. at least Uber eats had a Bogo deal that i used. The 2nd pizza is basically cheese, and looks a little less burnt Update After trying to eat the rest of the pizza later that night, it was barely edible, The burnt crust smell, and taste just got worse, Can't believe i ate the burnt crust slices that i did. This was beyond just well done. I wont be back for burnt pizza And i dont recommend chancing it It just shouldnt be burnt at all
Andrew C — Google review
We order pizza from this restaurant once in a while thru DoorDash. The actual restaurant is in a bad neighborhood so we resort to delivery. The pizza is always good, one of our favorite spots in the city. French fries are good too! They have quite a few of pizza options on their menu, along with desserts and soda options.
Nick P — Google review
Pizza was not it for me. The crust was lackluster in both the flavor and the texture department— missing that yeasty, slightly fermented flavor and consequently the chew was not there. The crispness associated with a Detroit style pizza was absent entirely. For $20+ a pizza, I also would expect more cheese and sauce, both of which also lacked flavor. The fries were good though, even at room temp. Their ranch is different. I think it’s home made, which is a plus. It’s tangy but not zesty, a little on the runnier side for me personally but I’m from the south and ranch dressing down there identifies more with yogurt than it does a sauce. I didn’t hate it. This place is popular for takeout, about a dozen or so DoorDash drivers were parked on their scooters out front waiting for their phones to light up. The restaurants online platform is via DoorDash for pickup or delivery. Neighborhood is rough no matter how you paint it once the sun goes down, your mileage may vary, though.

The best mushroom pizza I ever had! The cheese type(s), mushroom quality and their cooking technique seem unique. Laege portion size. The staff were quite nice and patiently answered my questions.
Kamran B — Google review
Basically $30. For a decent pizza the size of a paper plate. Tried this for lunch. The pizza was ok. Very light on the sauce and was basically cheese bread with toppings. The fact that it was $28. Dollars for an ok pizza the size of a paper plate (8 ½in.) was disrespectful. On top of that there's a 5% charge for employees medical. I pay for my familys medical already i shouldn't have to help pay for your employees as well. 1st and last time I'll be eating from here.
The J — Google review
We had a delicious and very enjoyable in this clean pizza shop with great service. We highly recommend the chopped salad, lemon pepper wings, and spicy Hawaiian pizza. Yum!
Jason B — Google review
First time here, I did take out. I am not a pizzas eater, the reason made me wanted to taste it was because the shape and thickness of the pizza. I should say that was one of the best pizza I had tried. The restaurant has very good environment, it has indoor and outdoor settings, much better than regular pizza restaurants. The staff was very friendly.

Nestled in the vibrant Pacific Heights neighborhood, Pizzeria Delfina is a must-visit for pizza lovers seeking an authentic taste of Italy. This charming eatery specializes in Neapolitan-style pizzas crafted with fresh California ingredients, making each bite a delightful experience. The menu also features seasonal antipasti and salads that perfectly complement their pies.
Fairly casual but delicious and consistent. We shared a delicata squash appetizer that was tender and delicious. It was followed up by a perfect margarita pizza and a flavorful order of stuffed shells. Honestly I couldn't be more pleased. Top notch place.
Josh F — Google review
Pizza is pretty soggy in the middle and crispy on the edges. I would say that the ingredients are fresh but I'm a full pizza guy and this was light on the toppings. Overall the quality of the crust and toppings were pretty tasty and flavorful. However the texture took it back a step. I got the sausage one and it was just a fancy pizza wearing overalls. It was so close to being great but the texture was not it. No draft beers so that was sad. 8.0/10 PS pro tip - sign up for both defina and the spot down the street for wait lists.
Asher W — Google review
The inside is pretty small so our party of 7 could only fit outside but it was a beautiful day. The service was friendly but somewhat slow but that can be explained by Delfina’s seeming to be fairly busy. And being busy because of great pizza. And the pizza is delicioussssss. We ordered almost every pizza on the menu and they were all good. 10/10 would reorder any but the mushroom was the top crowd pleaser. I would consider the pizza size as personal but 2 for 3 people w limited appetites is certainly feasible.
Jesse H — Google review
Absolutely loved it! The pizza was wonderfully, crunchy and just perfect. The waiter was super friendly and kind, making the experience even better. The pasta pomodoro, so simple in appearance but completely delicious. Perfect place for great food and warm service
Confort S — Google review
This is always one of our favorite places to eat pizza. Have been to other location in SF and Palo Alto, this is equally good . The crust is so thin light and airy that is the best part and the people are equally nice and welcoming. The day special Fried chicken was equally good, crunchy outside, little spicy and soft from inside
Jignesh S — Google review
Been coming to Delfina’s for years long before they opened up this location. This time we ordered artichoke hearts, arancini and a pizza. I also love their meatball side but my dinner companions weren’t feeling it that night. Their homemade lemonade was great too. Not too sweet just a bit tart and slightly fizzy.
Kay B — Google review
Delicious pizza and friendly staff! We ordered pepperoni and salciccia pizza. And for drinks lemonade and Arnold Palmer (refreshing). I will definitely return again.
Lídice C — Google review
I'm extremely disappointed because I waited 40 minutes for my order and they brought me a burnt pizza. I reported it, they gave me another one, and by the time the second pizza arrived, I'd already been an hour without eating. The taste was disappointing, so I ended up ordering it to go. To top it all off, the cashier, with all due respect, was incredibly rude. I definitely won't be back. (When things aren't done with care and love, this is what happens.) I went home hungry and with less money haha thanks

Pizza restaurant
Gialina is a cozy spot in San Francisco's Glen Park, celebrated for its crispy Neapolitan-style pizzas and fresh salads. The restaurant pays homage to the owner's family roots in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. For over 12 years, Gialina has been serving up innovative pizzas with perfectly crisp yet chewy crusts.
Gialina is a small family run restaurant where impossibly thin but sturdy pizza can be found. My father in law recommended them to us and while I can’t say anything for the pasta because we haven’t tried it, every pizza we’ve had has been incredible. From constant standbys to more creative fare (we had a peach pizza most recently)- it is all great. We’ve also enjoyed the vast majority of salads and appetizers. The only item I wouldn’t have again is the meatballs - they weren’t bad but I’ve just had better elsewhere. Excited to have more pizza of theirs soon.

It's been years since I last tried Gialina and I'm so happy that it's still around, still cooking, still having the pizza oven red hot and delivers simple but consistent quality food. We had only three dishes, a Caesar salad, a cucumber salad and a pie and of course a glass of wine. I personally think that Gialina makes one of the best pizza doughs in SF. It's crunchy, super thin and perfectly balanced with the toppings. It's simple but spot on. The Caesar salad with white anchovies is delicious and gets your taste buds fire up for the pie to follow. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. Thumbs up for this place and it's crew

It was Tuesday night and several friends went into San Francisco for our monthly Book Club meeting and we decided to stop into Gialina for dinner and drinks before our meeting. This spot was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. It’s a tiny place that feels like a true San Francisco neighborhood eatery and we were made to feel like locals the moment we arrived. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and it was a great evening for all of us. I had the Margherita pizza because so many other options had onions for some reason, though my buddies were inexplicably ok with onions on their pizza. We skipped dessert in an effort to not get fat but next time I’ll give the dessert options a try. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate

Good neighborhood pizza place in Glen Park. Pizza is very good and it's always busy especially during the weekends. The mushroom truffle pizza was very tasty although I don't like raw veggies (arugula) on my pizza, I just had to move the greens aside to have the slice the way I prefer. Margherita is my partner's favorite, but I am not a fan of their margherita pizza. Overall a cute neighborhood hangout pizza place. It's best to have the slices here, when you pick up "togo" they get mushy by the time you get home. Their flourless chocolate pistachio dessert was out of this world, light and very tasty!

Overall I loved the vegetarian options. For starters I recommend the burrata. I tried the sauteed padron peppers too, they were good but the spiciness of the peppers varied a lot so the taste wasn't uniform. For pies, I tried the mushroom, Ms figgy (requested without meat), atomica and 4 cheese. I found Ms figgy distinct in that it is sweet in taste and has fig on a pizza but I actually liked it. The mushroom was my next favourite. For dessert, I recommend the tiramisu.

What a spot. Great place to catch up with a friend during the week. The salad was such a pleasant surprise. Very creamy and savory Caesar salad. The staff were super friendly not rushing us at all when we were done eating and very receptive to questions on which is the best pizza to pick. The potatoe pizza is a sleeper! Will def be coming back.

I was very hungry So I forgot to take pictures in time. The pizzas were great: we got a BLT and an atomica with pepperoni. The tiramisu is REALLY good :)

A charming old-school spot with real people and beautiful pizza. You can feel the pride of the employees there—some over 17 years there (I asked)! We tried four pizzas, and each was delicious, thanks to the perfectly thin, toasty crust. The slices light and crisp where you could hold them easily in your hand. Then came the grand finale: the Nutella pizza for dessert—an absolute treat (I would have liked it as thin as the other pizza). To top it off, the house Italian red wine was the perfect match—light enough to complement the meal. You gotta check out htis place. Nicky, thank you for all the advise on what to order.

PizzaHacker is a popular food truck spin-off that offers thin-crust pizzas made with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant started as a mobile service, with the founder using a grill to prepare the signature pizzas. Known for its Neapolitan-style pies, PizzaHacker's menu features creative toppings like arugula, garlic, mozzarella, farm egg, and lemon juice. The establishment has gained fame for its innovative portable pizza ovens made from Weber grills.
Excellent pizza! The crust is thin but holds up when you grab a slice (perfect for not needing a knife and fork!). The toppings are great, too. They come up with new combinations of toppings frequently, and the best ones go on the menu permanently. We ended up getting the wrong pizza but that was resolved swiftly and with great service. Super friendly and good staff!

I got the Over the Top pizza and The Ohio as a square pizza. Over the Top was pretty good, would definitely order that one again. I wasn't as impressed with the square pizza, I don't think their sauce works well with the thicker dough. The service was pretty slow as there were only 2 servers for the whole room. I'd definitely order from here again. -2 stars for music being way too loud, it was hard to talk to my partner across the table.

The food was delicious! The meatballs had so much flavor, the sauce was amazing, the pizza was fabulous. Authentic Italian flavor. We ordered 1 pizza and 3 meatballs and it was perfect for my 3 person family.

Suuuuper cool pizza restaurant with very basic inventory and lots of families with children. Definitely not a quiet place, but oh so good! Will come back for sure! - update 12/22: they updated their furniture, so cool and fancy! maybe was a bit cold in there imo. otherwise: good as always!

We got the margarita pizza and the over the top pizza. The margarita pizza was alright it was too much cheese it didn't really feel like a margarita pizza, and then the over the top one was just not to our taste. The wings were extra cripsy but lacked favor. The home made ranch was also not the best.
Xiomara G — Google review
Could not believe the quality of this pizza! Just moved to the neighborhood and had a pizza craving tonight. Been to New York, been to Boston, but The Ohio pizza was the best pepperoni I've ever had, 100% no joke. Will be back for more. The crust, the sauce, the pepperoni... perfection.

First time there so I won’t dare to judge them till I visit them enough times to give them a fair review but so far I was pleased with their pizza their version of the typical pepperoni pie and I even liked the Shroom one as well. The good news is that they impressed me enough to return and try their other options. As far as service and atmosphere they’re set up to be very family friendly so if you’re looking for a fine dining experience you’re not getting it here. Service is simple and straightforward. They keep their menu pretty simple as well which I like.

Little Star Pizza is a popular chain known for its mouthwatering Chicago-style deep dish pizza, which has been consistently recognized as the Best of the Bay Pizza. In addition to their signature deep-dish pies with cornmeal crust, they also offer thin-crust and gluten-free options. The menu includes Detroit-style pizzas, salads, appetizers, and sandwiches.
I’ve been eating here ever since they opened. This is still my favorite pizza joint in the world. From the crust to the topping, for me, this pizza is very much the best thing. Whenever I am in San Francisco - I always make a point to eat here. It is not traditional pizza so this isn’t for everyone, especially Italian food purists. But if you like a Chicago style pizza you will love this pizza!
Rono S — Google review
I love little star pizza. The deep dish is really good. I have been to the diversado location before which I think closed or doesn’t really serve pizza now. This location still serves pizza. Pretty good prices and big portions. Very filling. The deep dish crust is not too thick and it’s crispy. I like the amount of gooey cheese they put on. We got the pesto chicken and the classic which has pepper and sausage. We also got the cauliflower app which was very good too. A pile of cauliflower and the seasoning on it kinda made it taste like calamari, in a good way. We also ordered chicken wings. Each chicken wing was pretty small but had a good flavor. The desserts are very good as well. The lemon bar wasn’t too sour and tasted home made. Cheesecake was very creamy and the brownie very chocolatey. They put so much ice cream on the brownie which I appreciate. I got a glass of Prosecco, it was a little too dry for me. Def recommend coming her for a relaxing time and good food.

Little star has been my favorite pizza place for a while, but tonight made me really want to leave this review I noticed that the two pizzas, Classic and Little Star were equally popular among a party of meat eaters, even though one is veggie. Little star deep dish is so good it will get people to accidentally go veggie without noticing 🥕 Bravo.

In a desperate move to feed our kiddos, we sought out a local pizza joint and found Little Star Pizza closest to our route. The pizza did not disappoint! Jose helped us out and suggested the Detroit and a deep dish. Our kiddos loved the pizza, my wife loved the vibe, and I appreciated Jose’s awesome customer service (a lost art). Come here if you’re in the mood for a great pizza pie.

Deep dish pizza was delicious. The wings and meatballs were subpar and lukewarm.
Sun G — Google review
This place is a local favorite and rightly so! I really enjoyed their deep dish pizza (although I went way beyond my calorie limit) and have only good things to say about it. We got half and half - one half of the pizza was the little star original (stuffed with mushrooms and a few other veggies with a strong garlic under taste). The other half was their veggie offering which was my favorite - it had zucchini, mushrooms and a bunch of other vegetables which all complimented each other. Each slice was quite huge and one can be pretty full with two slices. The crust I assume was cornbread and was super delicious. The honey added a nice touch to it. We got a Mexican coke as well which complimented the pizza nicely. The space is nicely done although there weren’t too many people dining indoors. The service was excellent but it does take around 20-30 minutes to prepare deep dish pizzas. So be ready. Bathrooms were clean.

We ordered takeout to eat at Standard Deviant Brewing a few minutes away. The salad (the one with pecans and blue cheese) was really good and so was the meatball pizza. Highly recommend!

Fiorella Polk is a neighborhood Italian restaurant with three locations in San Francisco - the Richmond, Russian Hill, and the Inner Sunset. While it's known for its delicious pizzas, it also offers excellent pasta dishes. Each location has unique dishes, but the Rigatoni Al Bolognese Classico is a favorite across all of them. The 9th Avenue restaurant has a heated rooftop where you can enjoy lunch, brunch, and cocktails.
Beautiful restaurant with extra friendly staff and the yummiest vodka pasta. Nice ambiance inside and great for friends/family/date night. Everything is super oily though and just pretty greasy and oily but they are so accommodating of dietary requests(my friend was allergic to snap peas and they came on the side of the farro we ordered).

Went here for happy hour today and honestly a really good deal. Arancini could have been a bit more creamy and flavorful on the inside but fried well and was good. Fungi pizza was good, a bit salty but as someone who isn’t the biggest mushroom fan I liked it. Four cheese was simple, could’ve used a bit more cheese I feel like, but the crust and flavor was good. Would come back for their happy hour deals and try more things on the menu
Sid S — Google review
I had the Margherita Pizza from Fiorella's selection of pies. The sauce was juicy, and robust. It complimented the cheese well. Basil was equally distributed on the top. Every bite tasted fresh. You can tell Fiorella cares about their pizza by quality of the crust. It's the absolute highlight. The crust was perfectly cooked on their wood-fired oven, producing an amazing texture packed with flavor. I would recommend any of their pies next time you're in the mood for a neopolitan style pizza.

Loved the Cacio e Pepe pasta! The lunch menu varies from the dinner menu, cosy and not too noisy inside, open kitchen, lovely outside seating outside of the weather allows it.

My fav upper Polk neighborhood Italian spot. Great pizzas for sure but I go for arancini, or a pasta - rigatoni diavolo and rigatoncini Bolognese are my favs. Fiorella Red is a great pairing. And they have a nice happy hour.

First of all, our waiter brought us seltzer water before even giving us a chance to look at the menu, and we had to later find out that it costed us 8$ on our bill. Also, the only regular water they had was tap water that tasted bad. I ordered the bolognese rigatoncine pasta, however when our food was brought to us (table of 4) they brought everyone elses food out at the same time except for mine, and i had to wait an extra 10 minutes to get my pasta. This would not have been too terrible if our waiter hadn't asked if we wanted our food brought out all at the same time, and it is overall inconsiderate practice as a server and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for me as a customer. Referencing the pasta I ordered, this was the worst part - being the most expensive pasta on the menu ($25), as well as arriving late, the pasta noodles were chewy, undercooked, and inedible! I had to call our waiter (who btw was rarely to be found) and tell him about the inconvenience, requesting a bowl of pasta that was edible and more cooked, but he said he could only make me the gluten free version if i wanted softer pasta... i reluctantly accepted and had to wait another stint of time before I recieved my food. Also to note, the entire staff acted pretty unprofessional, as many were singing loudly, dancing throughout the store, and chatting with each other instead of attending to their paying customers. Although my new bowl of pasta was better, and the food my companions ordered was alright as well, i cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone visiting the San Francisco coast. Please find another restaurant to avoid the bad atmosphere, undercooked food, and overall inconvenience!

Gioia Pizzeria, located in Russian Hill, can be described as more than just a pizzeria. Their pizzas, which are made in the East Coast style and undergo fermentation to achieve a thin and crispy-chewy crust, are accompanied by imaginative combinations of herbed cheeses, mushrooms, and other toppings. However, Gioia's culinary offerings go beyond pizza.
Y’all, when I say hype is real I mean hype is REAL. Some of the best pizza I’ve had in SF. Hayes Valley is where it’s at. Got their classic Margherita pizza and their asparagus pesto (sounds interesting but tastes amazing) for their red sauce they use special plum tomato’s & it’s game changer. Fresh ingredients, great flavor & great customer service. They have a small seating area but mostly a grab & go spot. Very NY style. Also their Parmesan topping is fresh Parmesan! Fresh ingredients all around. Can’t wait to be back, cheers!
Kiran S — Google review
Great (but tiny) pizza spot! I tried & liked the funghi and Margherita pizza slices. The only thing I didn’t like was how some of the crust was blackened on certain pieces. I went with friends and maybe half of us had slices where the crust got burnt and we had to peel it off. Besides that, the pizza was good and I’d go back. The salads looked good as well but in my opinion, were too pricey for what they contained (not many toppings and no protein). Be prepared to stand outside and eat your slices or find somewhere else to sit down because if I recall correctly, this tiny space only had one indoor table with 2 chairs.
Katia M — Google review
If you have a palette, or taste buds, the pizza here might give you an aneurysm. I bought 2 slices, more than $11 for 2 slices, and found the pizza to taste like it was 2 days old and then reheated in a nuclear reactor. Pizza to me is the ultimate staple good food, extremely easy to get a mediocre version. It’s almost skillful how a place like this can produce such a terrible slice of pizza. I don’t have much hope for their full pizzas either, at $28 for a 14”. It’s crazy what a quaint space in a busy neighborhood will get you in terms of the perception of quality, but I can assure you anyone professing the quality of the pizza here either had their taste buds surgically removed or is recovering from COVID.
Davi G — Google review
Very good margherita pizza all around, but a bit expensive. Nice cheese pull, soft and chewy crust, flavour on point
Dylan L — Google review
Love Gioia Pizza, but the key is to get it by the slice. They heat it up for you and it comes out perfectly crunchy, which is what makes it so good. I’ve tried ordering a whole pizza before and it just didn’t have that same crunch, so I wouldn’t recommend going that route. By the slice though, it’s easily my favorite pizza in the city.
Jennifer H — Google review
Just a bit disappointed I know the pizza is really good here. The server decided to give me the most burnt slice of pizza when there was an entire pizza to choose slices from and I specifically pointed to a non burnt slice. Maybe listen to your customers thanks
Natalie N — Google review
I recently moved to SF from NYC (where the pizza comes from) and I’ve been avoiding pizza entirely since I got here because 1) I don’t like crying in public and 2) some of the pizza shops I’ve walked past here should be brought up on charges for tomato-related crimes. I don’t know I’m not a pizza lawyer. Anyway I finally caved, and I’ll be honest the folks at Gioia make some pretty solid pizza. Clearly fresh ingredients, good flavors, nice chewy crust, and decent prices. Guess this elitist New Yorker will have to find something else to complain about now.

Located in the North Beach/Little Italy neighborhood of San Francisco, Golden Boy Pizza is a popular spot known for its New York-style pizza. The by-the-slice takeout joint offers a delicious selection of pizzas, with the clam and garlic pizza being a standout option. Despite being takeout only, it's worth the visit for those seeking top-notch pizzas away from touristy areas like Pier 39. Customers have praised the professional service and delicious deep-dish pizzas with well-cooked toppings.
Delicious, large, soft, doughy square pizza from a non-assuming storefront. I’d recommend ordering ahead, especially if you plan to get multiple slices or an entire pan. I got four slices, and they warned it would be about a ten minute wait for the pepperoni - but it was so worth it.

This pizza is good. The square slices are a fun twist. The crust has that perfect crunch I love. And the cheese? Melted, gooey perfection. Tastes just as good as the other location I've been to. Togo / take out only Slice or whole pizza Can call ahead for faster pick up Recommend

The pizza here is exactly as good as the original one in little Italy. The rectangle slice of pizza is surprisingly light, very flavorful and tasty. I’m not a fan of the garlic and clam pizza, but my friends love that pizza. They trained their employees well both places the workers are so super friendly and polite. Way to go.

When i heard that there was a Golden Boy opening on Taraval, I was like.... where could it be. Then I heard it was near 25th, and immediately, I was like Marco Polo Gelato??? Sure enough, the new Golden Boy in the Sunset is here, and it's amazing!!! I've been going to the original NB restaurant since the 90s??? 80s??? But it was always a destination AND a treat. Parked my motorcycle in front and ate and drank inside of that blacked out interior pizza joint with thousands of decals and graffiti on the corrugated walls. It was perfect! (For North Beach) Which brings me to this place..... I'll finish my post with my final thought. The pizza is just as good. Love the rectangular pieces. I don't care of there are other pizza places selling square slices, GB is the original 90⁰ slice in SF. So, about the decals on the exterior tile work. I don't know. I'm not THAT old and I'm not shaking a cane at the (ugly) decals. Okay I said it. This ain't North Beach. It's the Sunset. The decals won't age well. Its not the climate elements. It's the look. NB is gritty and classic, and well, it's the Barbary Coast. NB GB was open late for the night walkers and clubbing junkies. Pizza to fill the alcohol soaked belly's are what it's about. I think the decals should go. It doesn't look great. Especially against the backdrop of such a beautiful pizza joint. Secondly, decals are now of horrible quality. They will separate and leave ugly paper/glue stains to scrape. Then, I may be entirely wrong. "Okay Boomer...." Congratulations to Golden Boy Pizza and welcome to the west side. By the way, I added a decal to the wall.

Absolutely delicious! The pepperoni pizza here is next-level, crispy on the bottom, cheesy on top, and packed with bold, savory flavor in every bite. The thick-cut square slices are perfectly satisfying. If you’re in San Francisco, this spot is a must for pizza lovers.

Really good Sicilian style pizza (square/rectangular pan). 3 locations in the bay. Only the 2 SF locations offer slices though. This one is just a takeout window, but there's a park across the street you can eat at. Menu is small and simple. Came on a Monday night, short line. I ordered slices of the combo, pesto veggie, and clam and garlic at $4.50 each. You can't really beat that price these days. It was ready in about 5 mins. The crust of 2 of the 3 slices were excellent, crispy, light, fluffy. 1 was floppy and soft, but 2/3 is not bad. Toppings were quality and the amount was reasonable. Very cheesy. Our favorite was the pesto veggie. For the price and quality, this place ranks pretty high on my list
Tim — Google review
One of the best pizzerias in the city and they still serve a cheese slice for $3.50. San Francisco needs more of these gems. Anytime I'm anywhere close by there, I will stop by and grab a few slices. My favorite is the clam and garlic. They cut the clams, nice and small. So you don't get any chewy bites. A+
Quincy B — Google review
Was excited to try this but ultimately was left disappointed. The crust is the best part and basically "saves" the pizza but the rest of the ingredients seem to have zero flavor or taste. We ordered the supreme pizza and it was one blandest pizzas I've eaten in the city. It wasn't bad per se but I don't see us ordering from here again.

Golden Boy Pizza is a popular spot in North Beach, known for its delicious and affordable focaccia pizzas. Established in 1978 by Peter Sodini, this funky joint offers a variety of meat and veggie toppings on their deep dish slices. It's a go-to place for late-night comfort food after a night out at the clubs and bars. The simple yet flavorful approach to pizza with focaccia bread, cheese, and assorted toppings has made it an institution in the area.
I first saw this place on tiktok. Thought about it, but I never come to SF to even imagine trying it. Well, a fate brought me right around the corner and figured it was time. When we saw the long line, we knew it would be amazing. It did take a minute to get to order, but only because the folks in front were ordering pies (genius). When it was our turn, we ordered four slices, cheese, pepperoni, combo, and sausage. The pepperoni has a hint of spicy that set it off completely. The cheese was cheesy and delicious. The sausage was tasty, but that COMBO ONE... by far the best one! It had a hint of sweet, spicy, and crunchy. Next time I am in SF, I will definitely be going back. It's worth the wait.

It’s a walk up storefront with window ordering. They offer a handful of specialties including whole pies or by the slice. Always a line when I went by but moves pretty quickly. Ordered the pepperoni and combo slices. The zucchini on the combo pizza was different but good. The pies are square! The crust is solid and holds the ingredients without sagging. A tasty and reasonably priced meal.

Golden Boy Pizza is a whole vibe. The place has so much swag, with walls covered in stickers and a cool, energetic atmosphere that hits you as soon as you walk in. Be prepared for a line, because this place is popular-but it moves pretty fast and is absolutely worth the wait. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. The pizza itself is fantastic. I had the pepperoni, the clam & garlic, and the pesto veggie slices, and they were all delicious. For a great slice with an authentic San Francisco feel, Golden Boy is a must-visit.

Best pizza in San Francisco. Pick up only, call your order in to avoid a wait. The dough was great had the perfect texture, great crunch on the exterior and good chew on the middle. I had the combo, veggie pesto, and clean and garlic. The combo was the best by far perfect ratio of toppings to cheese and sauce. The veggie pesto could have used more sauce but was still fantastic. The clam and garlic was not what I was expecting, it was good but there was no clam, or so little that I couldn't tell. It was very flavorful with all the garlic but I wanted more clam. I will definitely come back if I'm in San Francisco again!

Pretty good pizza a lil out of your ordinary flavors but for what it is really tasty and fresh. Had a line but surprisingly moved pretty fast. Had the clam and garlic didn't really taste clams. Next time I'll try to others. Was actually surprised on the price too. Hot and hit the spot perfectly. Super friendly service too.

Famous pizza place in the heart of SF won’t disappoint! Get ready to stay in line for a bit but it moves fast and trust me, it’s worth the wait! $4 avg price for a slice of pizza? Unheard of these days! The square was good size and delish.

I think Zero Zero is the best Italian restaurant in downtown SF. Specifically, their pastas are awesome!! My favorite pasta is radiatore w/ braised short rib. Also, fried chickens are delicious!! They have many desserts too. My favorite is a soft serve with an olive oil and a salt. In addition, staffs are friendly. The deserts were ice cream that you can pick your flavour, toppings and if you want a brownie with it or something else from the selection available. I have to say it's not cheap but it's one of the best meals I have had in a long time and would definitely go back.

What an awesome place in San Francisco! We went here casually after a day off exploration and had a wonderful meal. Cocktails are very good, pizzas we're excellent, but it was the arancini with black garlic that really got me. It was delicious. Overall, great ambience, great service, and great food.

I have eaten here often and it is a dependable lunch spot. Their food is quite good and often has a unique take on things. Their drinks are on the small and weak side and for the price not a great deal. Service is normally fast and curious but it depends on the server. I had one underwhelming experience recently with a guy who didn't write down our order and then not suprisinglky had some errors in the drinks and food. Pizzas are very good from the wood fired oven. The "sandwich is their braised short rib but it comes in a sort of naan/tortilla type bread. Very tasty!

The stoner garlic bread was definitely the highlight. It’s incredibly great especially when you can order it in person when it’s warm. The pizzas are super flavorful, and their crusts have a ton of flavor too. I wasn’t a big fan of the soft serve at the end of the day. There was nothing special about it I thought

Outstanding pizza 🍕! Dropped by for dinner and cocktails and really enjoyed their Telegraph pizza - base was thin and crispy, and they were generous with the prosciutto and figs. Service staff were attentive and helpful throughout the evening.

My fiance and I stopped by for dinner, thinking we would just get some pizza for dinner while we were recovering from our morning travels. This place turned out to be a little trendier than I expected. Our waiter was great. The food was delicious. We ordered the Castro pizza and the pork belly plate which included a poached egg over a bed of broccolini. The pizza was great and the pork belly was crispy on the outside and just melted in our mouths. I wish I had more of it. This place is a little pricey. Each player was about $20 each

Flour + Water is a casual and rustic Italian restaurant that has been serving handcrafted pasta and wood-fired pizza for 15 years. Located in the Mission-Potrero area, it has become a confident matriarch of its family of restaurants. The restaurant offers a communal table with an unobstructed view of the roaring pizza oven where pizzas are made.
So I did not actually eat here. I ordered it through DoorDash or whatever service. That’s a lie, my mom ordered it for me. I cannot comment on their service or environment but I’m sure it is pretty good. I liked the wings. They had a great sauce on them and cooked well. I also liked the pizza. We got three pizzas and all were great. The dough is really good and the pizza is prepared how I usually like my pizza. That is thin but then a crunchy and thicker crust. Toppings and pizza was good. I’m pretty sure they do pasta as well which I should have tried. I like Italian food so I might be a bit bias towards this one. Anyways, solid place. I’m writing this a day later so I’m trying my best to remember. I am sitting outside a Thai place so we’ll see how this goes. Great food.

Went on a last-minute whim, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The wait was long but absolutely worth it….The koshihikari arancini were crisp on the outside and creamy inside, the Taleggio Scarpinocc was rich and silky with the perfect balance of cheese and sauce, and the mais pizza had a smoky sweetness that paired beautifully with the charred crust. We ended with the velvety, indulgent dark chocolate budino. The PERFECT finish! A good portion of the menu is vegetarian, and everything was incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend!

Flour + Water Pizza Shop This restaurant has a special place in our hearts as fur parents! We dined outside with our dog, and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The pizza was fantastic — hot from the oven with a perfectly crispy thin crust. I loved that the pepperoni wasn’t too salty and the cheese had a beautiful melt. The drinks we ordered came in bottles, which made them a bit pricey, but overall, it was worth it for the experience. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options, and the outdoor area is perfect if you want to enjoy a meal with your furry friend. We’ll definitely be back to try more pizza flavors! 🐾🍕

Went for a birthday party and was pleasantly surprised at how full I got because everything was so good and I kept wanting to eat more pasta until I couldn’t. Food was paired with wine for a lil extra but well worth it. Staff was very attentive and kept the meals coming! Would recommend this place for sure!

From the wait staff, all the way to the chefs, you can tell a lot of care and thought was put into each and every aspect of the meal. We loved every bite and am counting the days until we can be back!! Also heard their pizzerias are phenomenal so looking for a chance to visit one of those soon too!

It was fine. We got the tasting menu. The two stand outs were the pasta and the crudo. I guess the tasting menu used to be a bunch of different pastas, wish they'd go back to that. Nothing was bad, just nothing that I want to go back and get. I love Penny Roma so was excited to finally get a reservation here. The Asparagus was just Asparagus , the stuffed pasta was a ravioli that was eh, the crab stuffed pasta thing had a weird brown gravy on it and it was too rich to eat without a sauce, soup thing had no depth and a steak is a steak is a steak, unless it's not and it's amazing. This was a steak. The pot de creme was great, but even I can make that. Maybe it was just the menu we had. Or that I expected amazing.

We’ve had dinner here around 10 times in the past few years, mainly for the taleggio scarpinocc (a must order every time we come), but also to try the new creative pastas that change with seasonal ingredients and inspiration from various cuisines! As a result, we always order a la carte to try as many pastas as possible :) From this recent visit, some standout new pastas included the corn meal sachetti (such a cool use of huitlacoche) and juniper tortelloni (love the combo of cherries with the duck flavor!) If I had room for it, the black pepper bucatini was also intriguing to me, especially with the use of Szechuan peppercorn (one of my favorite spices!!) We also distinctly remember the use of salsa macha in pastas during our last visit. TLDR; taleggio scarpinocc is old reliable, but innovative pasta flavors keep us coming back time and time again over other Italian restaurants in the city. Attached photos are from various visits over the past few years :)

I came with family for a birthday celebration. we did not do the tasting menu. the summer squash was good but it is literally JUST squash and some jam. The pizza was also really good but it actually got amazing with the pastas. the pastas were EXCELLENT. we did the basil and the tagilottele. If i were to come back, I would get a different appetiser and maybe skip the pizza. even if you order a la carte, the servers will bring out everything like it is a tasting menu in a specific order. we thought all the servers were kind except one who was noticeably passive aggressive and while they would smile to other customers, they were very cold to us for seemingly no reason. when we called them over to ask for more wine at one point, they came 2-3 minutes later and simply stood next to the table looking at us dead in the eye waiting for a response which was extremely confusing and uncomfortable. other than this poor experience, the food and other servers were excellent.

Montesacro Pinseria - SoMa is a delightful industrial-chic enoteca that brings the flavors of Rome to San Francisco. Since its debut in 2015, it has been serving up authentic Roman-style pinsa, a unique flatbread made from an ancient blend of rice, soy, and wheat flour sourced directly from Italy.
We dined at Montesacro Pinseria - SoMa last weekend, and the food was absolutely amazing! Their pizza selection is fantastic, with a variety of unique options, and the quality of the pizza is top-notch—perfectly crispy crust and fresh ingredients. The service was great, making the overall dining experience even better. The only downside is that it's located in a neighborhood with a lot of homeless people, and parking can be difficult, so we suggest using Uber or a taxi for convenience. Despite that, the delicious food is well worth the visit!
Ren Z — Google review
After countless neighbors sang Montesacro’s praises, my partner and I arrived with sky‑high expectations. Sadly, the evening never climbed beyond middling, and a few missteps sent it tumbling well below average. What we ordered Porchetta 4 / 5 Nicely seasoned, juicy, good crackling—easily the best bite of the night. Pinsa “Grottaferrata” 2 / 5 Arrived lukewarm and dripping oil; toppings felt flat. Pinsa “Ponte Mammolo” 2 / 5 Same temperature and grease issues. Olive‑oil flavor absent, crust lacked the airy lightness pinsa is known for. Strawberry Tiramisu (off‑menu “special”) 2 / 5 No espresso‑soaked ladyfingers, just strawberry cream with chocolate chips. Portion: one small square. Price: $20—hard to view as anything but a gouge. (We both felt queasy after dinner.) Service & Hygiene Our server was friendly but repeatedly wiped tables with a bare hand, then handled plates and the POS screen without washing. That alone took the shine off the evening. Most desserts fall between $6‑15, so the surprise $20 tiramisu stung. The pinsas, though generously sized, didn’t justify their mid‑$20s price tags given the execution. Pro tip: Skip Stevenson Street between 5th & 6th on foot; the alley’s smell and hazards can sour an already mediocre evening. Overall rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2 / 5)

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, now the quality is not the same, the bread basket got smaller and the service is fast and cleans the table immediately not giving you the opportunity to leisure. It used to be able to transport me back to Italy, now it just another US restaurant. Sadly the experience is no longer worth the cost

Super tasty Roman-style pizza (with a great selection of antipasti too) served in a cozy, gorgeous space. I stopped by Montesacro SoMa with a friend for a weekend dinner after receiving multiple recommendations for this spot from several coworkers / friends. I got there a few minutes early, so I was immediately struck by how cozy and intimate the store felt; the staff seemed relaxed but on top of their game, and I loved that you could somewhat (but not quite...to preserve the mystery of it all) see the kitchen work their magic with a partially visible container of prepared dough, slightly exposed assembly counter. I love the walls of wine bottles, random chandeliers, and deli counter -- it genuinely felt like I was back in Rome. For food, we started with the Sottoli, a plate of beautifully EVOO-marinated vegetables (red bell peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, and eggplant), topped with a bit of chili and parsley. I loved the simplicity of this antipasti; the veggies were super flavorful and delicious. It's a great vegetarian or gluten-free choice, but you can also get an order of their bread if you'd like to bulk up this appetizer. The veggies were delicious on their own, but also went wonderfully with the main star of the show, the pizza. We got their margherita just so we could compare this classic vs. other pizza joints, and they certainly did not disappoint. The tomato sauce was flavorful, with just the right mix of herbaceous, savory, acidic, and sweet, and the pizza was topped with a generous portion of melty mozzarella and basil. I love that they fully lean into the Roman-ness of their restaurant by serving the more ovular pinsa, with a slightly thicker, chewier crust and highlighting local Roman ingredients. Now that I've confirmed their margherita pizza (or, rather, pinsa) is 10/10, I can't wait to go back and try their other options!

Wow! I've often walked past this place and seen people eating at the sidewalk tables. A friend suggested we have lunch there today and what a surprise! The pizza special was delicious. It's a cool spot, almost feels like you're in Italy. And the service is exceptional -- as good as you'll get in any restaurant. I look forward to going back.

Such a charming spot with Rustic Italian interiors if you can brave the neighbourhood. The ambience of this place takes you back to Rome. Coming to the pinza, the crust was just perfectly crunchy and soft. The pinza toppings were interesting but not my favourite!

What an absolute gem-in-the-wall. Located somewhat in an alleyway that is off the main street (which by the way, the main street did feel sketchy), and upon entering you feel immersed in a rustic restaurant that gives off huge authenticity vibes. We were served by someone who was so knowledgeable of the food, was able to articulate how they were special, and provided such enthusiasm, it was refreshing. We decided to get 2 pizzas for 2 people, and although it was said they are somewhat personal-sized, they were slightly larger (so expect extras!). We chose the white pizza MARANELLA and a red called TORMARANCIA and they were DELICIOUS! Absolutely some of the best pizzas I've ever had. The crust was light, crispy, and yet filling. We paired the pizza with some wine, and it hit the spot. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend all those visiting SF to try!

Pink Onion is a family-owned restaurant located in the Mission District, offering a contemporary and casual dining experience. The restaurant is known for its delicious pizza and Italian dishes, with a focus on quality and generous portions. Customers praise the Pink Fire Alarm pizza, featuring spicy pepperoni, chile peppers, garlic, and sweet red onions. The menu also includes appetizers like meatballs and burrata salad, as well as pasta dishes such as Rigatoni vodka.
I decided to try this place out. I didn't want pizza, so I ordered a pasta dish and upgraded to the gnocchi in the truffle cream sauce. I've had a lot of gnocchi, but this is at the top of my list of the best in town. It just melts in your mouth, incredibly. It was absolutely amazing, almost too much truffle. I'm definitely going back to try a pizza next time. Then there was the tiramisu, which is a 2-person dessert. The service only got 3 stars because wait time for them to take my order was a bit long, then I had to flag someone down for more water. No one ever came by to ask how things were or if I wanted anything else. They don't have tap and pay, so bring your cash or card. I do recommend visiting this place.

Went on free-wine-Wednesdays! This place was bustling! We’ve dined in a few times before and the food is always amazing! Place is small so it gets loud when packed. Every Wednesdays they have a combo meal offer of 1 appetiser, 1 pasta, 1 pizza, 1 dessert. We got burrata caprese salad, mussel pasta, Nayalita pizza, Tyson punch out pizza, basque cheesecake. I personally love the burrata caprese (their pesto, balsamic and olive oil makes a saucey combo), Nayalita pizza (white base with caramelised onions, how to say no?) and basque cheesecake (dense and fluffy at the same time)!! Even though we dined out for this review, the service was amazing every other time we dined in. Parking is a nightmare so uber/lyft.

Came with a group 3 knowing that we would order the $60 dinner deal and thinking of adding a side order if it didn’t fill us up but the portion size was actually super generous and we left stuffed!! The magic mushroom pizza was delicious with the hint of truffle that you can taste from the oil and the mushrooms and prosciutto went so well together. We all loved the pesto di pistachio pasta- creamy but also light at the same time and it paired really well with the salad! The restaurant itself is pretty small so highly recommend booking a reservation! The dinner deal is definitely worth it and would def come back :))

Just had an OK experience, the staff isnt organized, e.g 3 different servers or staff just not communicating, checking in every 3-5mins, although we said we were fine. To begin, my cutlery was noticeably dirty, and it took forever to get a replacement, the appetizers came out before the cutlery, and I had to remind them. Also had to ask for small plates to share the appetizers. They also messed up the order because too many people were attending to us and not communicating effectively. We had two pizzas which were decent, and then had the meatballs appetizer and also mussels and pasta, which were just OK. Meatballs were good, but the pasta lacked flavor and taste, mussels were bland. Dont see myself returning here anytime soon, or if at all. I saw lots of TO GO orders for pizza going through the door, but I think they need to do better regarding to dine in patrons.

Fast and friendly service. The pizza dough is light and doughy, pastas are tasty and the perfect amount of salt and chewiness. Flavors really hit the spot if you are craving Italian comfort at an amazing price point. In running for the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life. All of the food is so fresh and you feel good after as opposed to bloated and lethargic the next day.

Came here for dinner and had mixed feelings. The combo meal was a great value and the portion size was generous, which is hard to find for an Italian restaurant in SF. The mussels were delicious, but the rest of the food was disappointing. The pizza crust was very hard and the pasta texture I couldn't get used to. Service was also not great. We had to wait a long time to get our water refilled. I drank all of my water and even had to take my boyfriend's. While I appreciate the value, I don't think I'll be back.

i LOVED my pizza! for the vegan one with eggplant (forget the name) but it was a literal 10/10! def will order from here again!

Maybe the pizza is what makes the reviews. The inside is cute but we ended up outside, despite the heater right next to us it was very cold. We were also SURROUNDED by people waiting for their doordash orders and to be seated, it totally ruined and little ambiance the outdoor seating had. Service was EXTREMELY slow, we had to ask for the appetizer bread (which was actually good), and they didn't check on us once... not even to refill water. We had to call them over to take our order. Meatballs and caesar were alright, nothing to come back for. Sauce for the meatballs was bland, not sure it had seasoning. Pasta was terrible. I got the bolognese and it was like soup and again was bland. The truffle pasta was better but way too much truffle, it was overpowering.

Cellarmaker House of Pizza in San Francisco is a vibrant tavern that perfectly marries the art of craft beer with delicious Detroit-style pizza. This beloved spot emerged just before the pandemic and quickly became a go-to for comfort food in the Mission/Bernal area, offering an inviting atmosphere to enjoy their unique square pies. The menu features a variety of options, including classic pepperoni, a veggie delight, and their signature 'Supremo' topped with an array of savory ingredients like sausage and olives.
Cellaramaker is a must-try for Detroit-style pizza lovers in Misión st! The Detroit-style pizza is phenomenal. The crust is perfectly crispy and chewy, with a delicious caramelized cheese edge. The toppings are fresh and flavorful, and the sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The craft beer selection is also excellent, with a wide variety of local and regional brews on tap. I highly recommend Cellarmaker to anyone looking for a great pizza and beer experience. On top of pizza and beer, the crew is the best! Thanks, Gonzalo

I fell in love with this pizza! It was so fresh and tasted amazing. We got classic pepperoni Detroit style pizza and some cream sodas. It was absolutely delicious. I also fell in love with their house made hot sauce. It added to the flavor of the Pepperoni and just tied everything together. Absolutely hit the spot. We can't wait to come back!

If pizza is your thing and Detroit style is your ultimate you MUST eat here. The pizza dough is light, fluffy and melts in your mouth. While the cheese is almost fried onto the sides making it chewy and crispy. The toppings a generous and stacked. We got seated right away at the bar with no reservations. Pizza came out quick and hot. This place ranks way above Square Pie Guys for me. Oh and the hot sauce was also fire - tangy, complimentary and spicy.

I was visiting SF during Highlank Park Brewery’s Timbo week. Since Cellarmaker made their version of Timbo, I checked out the brewery for their Timbo and Detroit-style pizza. The place had chill, relaxing city vibes, and the Timbo was great and the pizza was PERFECT—soft inside and toasted outside. Yum! While I enjoyed their food, I probably missed the warm human interaction that I typically feel at breweries at least in SoCal. Perhaps this is just a SF thing? (I noticed that most of the billboards in the city there was related to AI while the common billboard you’d see in LA is either entertainment or injury lawyers 😂) Don’t get me wrong—I loved the excellent description of each beer on their Toast menu. Great work!! However, as a person who’s new to the brewery, taking a long time to read through the menu and make an “important” decision on what to order could’ve been stress-free, interactive and fun. Overall, I found the interaction between customers and staff members who served food and drinks to the table was a bit transactional. That’s all, but I’d go back and order at the bar next time!

I love Cellarmaker beer but never tried their pizza. Went here on a Saturday night. Fairly crowded but found some seating. Normally I’m not a fan of Detroit style pizza but I thought this was great. I got the carribean jerk chicken pizza. For one hungry person I think 3 slices is plenty, if I was splitting it I would be fine with 2 slices plus a side.
Vlad S — Google review
While searching Reddit one night, I heard there was a place in the Mission district serving up some of the best pizza in the Bay Area. As the pizza junkie that I am, I made it a mission to check out Cellarmakers. As your resident Detroit native, I have to say this is how you make a good Detroit style pie! The dough was soft and flakey. The pizza wasn’t super dense and the edges had a cheese crust you dream about. A solid A+ pie. The beer selection and service was spot on as well. This moves up to the top of my list for the best Detroit style pizza in the Bay Area.
Lamarr E — Google review
I used to go to the Cellarmaker brewery in soma and still love their IPAs. The staffs were super nice and friendly. We ordered a square pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. The pepperoni was excellent and the beet salad was also great! However, the mushroom pizza was a bit of a letdown—it was very bland and lacked flavor. I also wouldn't recommend the calamari; it was dry and just didn't taste good.
Eunju T — Google review
Cellarmaker makes amazing beer to begin with, so even without the pizza, this place would be worth the trip. But the pizza? Holy shit, absolutely fantastic Detroit style pizza. Crispy outside, chewy inside, perfectly crispy cupped pepperoni and just the right amount of sauce on top. The sauce had the proper little bit of sweetness and chunky texture I expect from good Detroit style pizza too. My friend and I both agreed it was among the best pizza we've had in recent memory.

Outta Sight Pizza, located in the TL, offers a variety of classic and California-inspired pizzas with colorful chill vibes. The menu includes favorites like cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, sausage and peppers, as well as the popular #50 with ham and pineapple. The Lunch Lady slice is a must-try with vodka sauce, three cheeses, and basil. Customers rave about the delicious flavors and generous portions of the pizza. The Hawaiian pizza stands out with its perfectly balanced pineapple and basil toppings.
I recently visited Outta Sight Pizza in San Francisco, and it truly lives up to the hype. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the smell of fresh pizza and a visually striking interior. The experience was overwhelmingly positive, combining delicious food, quality ingredients, and a funky artistic decor that made the visit memorable. Yes, the price tag was a bit high (around $60 for our meal), but I left feeling it was absolutely worth it for the quality and overall experience. Here’s a breakdown of my visit: - Pepperoni Pizza (Slice): Incredibly delicious, with a perfect thin crust that had a nice crunch on the outside and a chewy center. The pepperoni was savory and crispy around the edges, and you could taste the quality of the ingredients – from the tangy tomato sauce to the gooey, rich cheese. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the slice was generous in size. - Meatball Sub: A hearty sandwich overflowing with tender, flavorful meatballs and melted cheese. The bread was toasted just right – crunchy on the outside but soft inside, soaking up the savory marinara sauce. It’s the kind of comfort food that hits the spot; rich in flavor and clearly made with love and good ingredients. Both items were freshly made to order and served hot. We could immediately tell the difference that quality ingredients make – nothing tasted processed or bland. For example, the tomato sauce on the pizza and sub had a homemade taste with herbs and natural sweetness, and the meats were lean and well-seasoned.

For a super cheap pizza, this place is pleasantly surprising - they have daily specials and unexpected add ons like anchovies or stracciatella. I tried the ruby (their vodka sauce) and a Vinny's special (onions, chives and creme fraiche). Both were ok in flavor (especially considering the price). I was a little concerned that a dog was allowed to sit at one of the tables, didn't feel very sanitary...

Solid NY style slice. Slices are on the small side but they’re thin, crispy, and have good structure. Zero flop, crust is chewy, sauce is good - not too sweet, perfectly tangy. Pepperoni is top notch. Jerk chicken is interesting - kinda sweet and spicy.

I was passing by this place and someone walking out had a pizza slice that caught my eye. Having just visited Chicago, I was craving for a thick slice like the Lunch Lady pizza brick. It’s not a triangle. It’s like a block so I don’t consider it a slice. At first sight, I thought maybe it’s going to be a little too doughy? After one bite, the flavors of the topping and the crunch of the crust were so satisfying. The shaved cheese gave it a nice finish. Will need to come back to try other pizzas next time.

Great no-frills modern NY style pizza spot. Keeping this short and sweet. The pizza is fantastic and holds its own even when compared to New York establishments and beats a lot of them. It's more of a Modern New York Style where the pizza itself is cooked more well done. Great dough, great sauce, great cheese. Happy Hour is a very good deal as far as SF goes and even the regular prices are pretty reasonable for the city. Full pies are also excellent. Go here.

Great thin-crust slices and super clean spot. Tried the Ruby and Vinny’s Special — both tasty. The staff is very sweet! A bit pricey at ~$6 a slice, but I’m also spoiled by old NY $2 slice days 😅 Worth a visit.

This is the real deal folks - solid NY style thin crust slice with a california twist of deeelish! There is a really good reason for the lineup out front, and it is well worth the wait. I love the Vanna White (white slice with slightly caremelized onion), the Double Dragon (pesto + red sauce) and the Pat Sajak (straight up slice). But there’s others too and they’re all AWESOME!

We had some good pizza slices here. They have about 8 different pizzas you can order, by the slice if you want. The four we tried were all tasty. My one complaint about this place was how loud it was inside. After we sat down the music was turned up so loud we couldn’t talk and had to leave. Other than that it was good food. Maybe just get it to go.

Absolutely lived up to the hype! Damnfine had been on my go-to list for a long time, and I’m so glad we finally made it. We loved everything we ordered. We started with the wood-fired carrots—perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and topped with an amazing dressing. The radicchio + citrus salad was fresh and well-balanced. Then came the star of the show—the pizzas. We got the classic Margherita and the Mushroom Dream, and both were incredible. The dough was flavorful, light, and had just the right chew. Thin crust, but sturdy—doesn’t droop when you hold it. One of the best pizzas I’ve had. We ended with the almond cake, and it was the perfect sweet finish—rich, nutty, and super satisfying. We left with big smiles and already can’t wait to go back :)

We had a fantastic time at Damn Fine Pizza in SF! Right from the door Lauren brought such great energy, and our servers Ashley and Ray were friendly, fun, and on point. The panzanella salad with dill was a surprising standout — fresh and flavorful, with tomatoes that actually taste like real tomatoes (just like my grandma used to grow!). Cocktails were delicious, the pizzas lived up to the hype, and we ended the night with a rich chocolate cake baked by Ashley. Great vibes, amazing service, and killer food. We'll be back for sure!

The people there were very sweet and the place is very cute with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was ok but they let you customise according to your taste.

Awesome experience all around! Reservations for 15, came early, and they were nice enough to seat us earlier than expected. Great host and hostess! Our server Ashley was awesome! Funny, knowledgeable, energetic, and gave a surprise birthday cake for our celebrant! The pizzas were all tasty! Pepperoni, clam, pancetta, Margherita. The hot honey is a must to put on the pizza 🍕 😋 We sat outside on an overcast night, but still had a great experience. Definitely recommend this place when in the Sunset. Ty

- Atmosphere is nice but main room is really loud so conversation might be hard to carry - food is really tasty: call out to their clam pizza which is delicious - watch out for food restrictions: the clam pizza had pancetta while it is not listed in ingredients, which might cause issues for people with feed restrictions - drinks and service are really not great: my drink was disgusting. I did not touch it. The server didn't come back after taking the order until it was payment time. She didn't ask how the food was, why my drink was still full or anything. We didn't have a chance to voice the issue even if we wanted to which is disappointing for 17$+ drink

Flour + Water Pizzeria, a beloved establishment from the Flour + Water team, has been serving Neapolitan-style pizzas for over a decade. Initially led by Jon Darsky, the flagship location offers thin, crisp crusts with delicious seasonal toppings. The 18th and Valencia pizzeria features gas-oven-fired pizzas with an East Coast-style red-sauce Italian flair and optional ranch dipping sauce.
Love their vegan pizza! This is our second time dining here and the food is really good! My husband got a pesto pizza and enjoyed it immensely. It’s now our new favorite pizza place in the City. The pizza crust is thin, crisp and light! Good wine too.
Lidiya A — Google review
Wow! We started with the corn ribs and would highly recommend, it was an amazing balance of spice and every bite was divine. We then got a vegan pizza to share (minus the tofu burrata), the base was so crisp and light and had a good flavor to it, the sauce had an amazing flavour and the toppings worked so well together. The ambience in this place is amazing!! The lower lighting is not harsh and really adds to the experience. The environment feels very calm even when it is busy. Would highly recommend

Great place that serves some tasty pizzas and starters! What I like is that their range is focused with a good mix of sides, starters and drinks. This keeps the options simple and the food superb. Loved the Meatza Pizza and the Mozzarella sticks and chapped salad. Super fresh! We will be back!

Great food & ambience at Flour & Water Pizza. The gluten free pizzas (meetza) was tasty plus the chop salad was the best we’ve ever had - I think 18 ingredients! Shout out to the manager Madison for creating this experience for all the patrons.

The other reviews are pretty accurate. This place has a limited menu and seems to have really quality ingredients. I would have rated it higher if we would’ve tried a wider range of items. I think the thin crust pizza could’ve been a bit crisper, but the flavor was excellent. I included a picture of the meatballs, which were very good, but not served piping hot. The pizza took a little longer to prepare, but was fresh and tasty. The other reviews include items from the menu, which were not available on the day that we ate. I would have ordered the Brussels sprouts. Service was attentive, and everyone seemed very friendly. It was a Tuesday early afternoon and the crowd was very thin. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I photographed the bill so you can see that on this date what a pizza and appetizer cost. We had water. I was pleased that sparkling water was the same price as still… free.

$22-25 per round of great pizza. Our favorite was the burrata, which was a perfect blend of Neapolitan + NY style. The dough and the crust sre NYC style but the toppings are more Neapolitan, minimalist and high quality. Give this place a try if you’re in the area for pizza.
Jae J — Google review
Perhaps one of the best pizza dough in SF. Chewy, airy and balanced by the right amount of salt. Pesto pizza was tasty with freshly made pesto. Smoked eggplant pizza perhaps was a little disappointing, just not the smoky aroma you would hoped for and slightly too sweet. Overall, definitely one of the best pizza place in town.

Great place, I had a gluten free pizza and wife had a regular. The pizza was incredible as a celiac, I did unfortunately react from cross contamination. They do have through own oven, but coming later in the day I'm sure it's tied to the amount of prep going on. My wife said her pizza was the best she has ever had!

Angie's Pizza in the Mission offers a delightful way to end your meal with their luscious, creamy sundaes topped with farm-fresh fruit compote, sauce, or jam. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, adorned with cool posters and vinyl records creating a warm atmosphere. The pepperoni pizza is packed with flavorful components that will leave you amazed. The cheesecake ice cream with raspberries is also highly recommended.
This is the go-to pizza place for my friends and me! There are plenty of vegetarian options and all delicious! Their potato pizza is one of my favorites. I’m usually a don’t-eat-the-crust kind of person but at this place I clean sweep the crust is also! Their 90s decor is really nice and the wood-fired oven visible is great looking oven!

We decided to try the meatballs and the pepperoni pizza, and both were absolutely delicious! The meatballs were incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth with every bite. The pizza had the perfect balance of flavors—lightly spiced, with a crispy crust and just the right amount of pepperoni. The ambience was warm and inviting, though a bit darker than I personally prefer. However, that didn’t take away from the cozy atmosphere or the excellent service.

Excellent pizzas. Margherita was my favorite. We sat in the back corner bench, which doesn't get a lot of ventilation and it's right next to the pizza oven, so it was about 90 degrees the entire time (avoid this seat if you can).
Yuchen L — Google review
Pizzas are good, the crust has a nice undercarriage but it wasn't crispy - which it isn't supposed to be since it's high temp, lower bake time. The burnt base is tasty but I like a little crunch, like the NY style. We could get a custom vegetarian pizza with the toppings that were present on the menu across pizza options. The custom was on Margarita with onions, olives and mushroom - chefs kiss! The waiter (guy) serving us was a bit rude and uptight, maybe because we weren't the cookie cutter crowd, since we wanted customization due to dietary restrictions. The experience could've been much better with a more grounded person but that's what it is.

Good pizza, fun casual atmosphere, and simple menu. There are a few places in the city that have a similar style and menu, and this one does it as well if not better than most. For two a pizza and a small plate is fun, cucumber yogurt salad was delish. Dough had a good consistency. Ingredients overall fresh and above average.

The hubby and I were killing time and found this place for dinner. We got seated and immediately. We ordered our pepperoni pizza. Since we sat at the bar, we saw them making our pizza and placing it in the wood burning stove. It took about 2 minutes to be baked and quickly served. Loved it! Everything was great. It can get a bit dark in there but it’s all part of the ambiance. We’re definitely going back!

Angie’s is like stepping into a glam-vintage 1960’s parlor. It’s both sexy and playful at the same time, incredibly intimate yet also full of energy. It’s equally a great spot for a cozy date or a stand-out dinner for visitors. This place is all about the pizza, with the dazzling black pizza oven as the establishment’s centerpiece. We had the hot sausage pizza, which was surprisingly puckish — the smoked cheddar gave the classic Italian pizza a solidly American twist. We also enjoyed the mixed green salad, with a light vinegar dressing to cut through the heavy, flavorful pizza. We also gave in and got the meatballs as well — don’t skip them, if you’ve still got room in your tummy for them! The surprise stand out of the night was the Ghia Spritz — a $6 canned mocktail, it had a delightfully complex flavor and hit all the same notes as a cocktail worth twice its price. If you’re skipping the booze for the evening, the Ghia is a must!!! We liked it so much that we went and bought a pack from the grocery store — however, there was just something about having it at Angie’s that made it even more tasty. The retro vibes alone are reason enough to check it out, but the food and service makes it a slam dunk. If you haven’t tried Angie’s yet, you really need to!!!

Best pizza in the world. Their pepperoni pizza is so tasty and has so many different components of flavor to leave you amazed. Their cheesecake ice cream with raspberries was so delicious too. Not to mention the best ambiance with cool posters, vinyl records, and a warm lighting arrangement. Overall, an awesome dining experience. I highly suggest getting a reservation as seating is limited, but if you come in soon after they open they’ll definitely have some space to sit you down promptly.

A16 is a lively Italian restaurant known for its Neapolitan pizza and housemade pasta. The owner, Shelley Lindgren, has curated an exceptional wine list with a focus on southern Italian wines from regions like Abruzzo and Sicily. This has made it a go-to spot for wine enthusiasts looking to explore underrated Italian wines.
The food was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The vibe was classy but relaxed, and everything came out perfectly timed. We had an awesome waiter (wish I caught her name!) with red hair who was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening even better. Would definitely come back — highly recommend!

definitely a pizza place, i personally wouldn’t get anything else here. just flour and water without cornmeal, we get this incredibly solid base to the pizza. the anchovy one is my fave, very salty though. the corn was surprisingly tasty, but i wouldn’t call the meat prosciutto.

Great experience for a date night on our trip to SF. I have never, ever had a red sauce that tastes just like my Sicilian mother makes so my mind was blown. Sat outside which was a bit more bustling than we expected, however server was attentive and friendly, and the Lambrusco was amazing. Our server made sure to note any differences in the drinks and food we might not have realized from other Italian spots, and unfortunately we were just too full for desert! Will be back for the sauce, for sure.

We went for dinner for the first time with my boyfriend and loved it! We ordered the octopus to start, which came with some amazing bread, and for our main dishes we had the lingcod fish with a delicious green salad and the mushroom pizza. Everything was really tasty. We also had a glass of red wine and a beer. The girl who served us was super kind and attentive. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had our daughter’s graduation dinner at A16 and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was outstanding—friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive. Every dish was delicious, from the wood-fired pizzas to the house-made pastas. Our whole table was raving about the food! The atmosphere was perfect for a celebration—warm, welcoming, and full of energy. A16 made a special night even more memorable. Highly recommend!

We were "influenced" to try A16. We sat at the wine bar area, which was small and unfortunately very cramped. (My chair was backed up to my neighbor's chair.) The atmosphere was nice, but loud. We shared a little gem salad and the Margherita pizza. I also tried the Aperol spritz, which was refreshing. As you can see from my photos, our first pizza did not arrive with any mozzarella cheese, only the burrata, which is an add-on. After a few bites, I noticed something hard in my pizza. I initially thought it was a piece of old crust from the oven, but after the next bite, I realized it was wood chips from the oven. The bottom of the pizza was burnt, which overpowered the overall flavor of the pizza. We couldn't locate our waiter, so we flagged down the hostess. She quickly removed the pizza and made us another. Our second pizza arrived with both mozzarella and burrata cheese. This pizza was better, but still had a burnt crust. Due to the issues we encountered, the hostess comped our pizza. This was my first time dining here, and I won't return. SF has a lot of options for pizza, which are better. We did not try any other dinner entrées, so maybe those would be a better option.
Stephanie H — Google review
The ambience is charming and carefully designed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a modern touch of Italian style that really stands out. However, I was a bit surprised by the pizza selection and especially the pricing. I was expecting something more faithful to traditional Italian pizza. The dough itself is excellent, but the pizzas is too Americanized for my taste. A Margherita topped with Parmesan (even when not listed on the menu), or options overloaded with garlic, miss the mark for anyone seeking authenticity. It would be great to see classic Italian style pizzas included as standard options, not just add-ons that raise the price. Another issue was the oven: the pizza base was completely blackened, which not only made it unhealthy, but also gave it an unpleasant burnt flavor. The oven needs proper maintenance.
Federico M — Google review
We made a reservation yet weren't seated until 20 minutes after we showed up. We were able to order an appetizer (meatballs) which was ok but the sauce was a bit watery. Another 30 minutes passed before anyone came to take our order, at which point we paid and left. While it was busy, I've had better and quicker service at a packed bar on St. Patrick's Day pub crawls. Food prices are a bit on the high side and wine selection is limited if you don't want a full bottle. There are better places to go in Marina for dinner.

Delarosa Downtown is a bustling and modern eatery that offers Roman pizzas, antipasti, and creative cocktails. With two locations about three miles apart, it's convenient to satisfy your pizza cravings no matter where you are in San Francisco. The thin, crispy wood-fired pizzas are a highlight, with options ranging from classic margherita to more elaborate choices like the Bartender Pizza.
This place has quickly become one of my favorite pizza spots. The pizza is seriously tasty – fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and just the right amount of toppings. The staff is always kind and welcoming, and the interior is clean and nicely decorated. Bonus points for the outdoor seating – it’s a great vibe, especially in good weather!

The pizza came out promptly and was well prepared. There wasn’t anything specific about the ingredients that really stood out to me or put the pizza over the top, but it was still good. It’s like the venue wanted me to believe that the eating experience was more elevated than what it actually was. I don’t mean to be too harsh, it just seemed like a decent, well made classic pizza.

We walked in after a visit to the SF MoMa. The fall pizza was definitely unique and brought in a different flavor profile compared to usual pizza! The cauliflower was good but the highlight was the tiny onion focaccia — this was really really scrumptious — should try item!

I walked into this spot for a quick solo dinner during a conference trip to SFO — it was right next to my hotel and popped up on a Google whim. The place had an effortlessly cool vibe, and since I was by myself, they offered me a seat at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and kicked things off by offering me samples of two different wines. Loved the gesture — I picked one and settled in with my glass while scanning their small but intriguing menu. It was happy hour, so I went for a 10” wood-fired pizza topped with marinara, salami, spicy peppers (yes, actual heat!), olives, onions, and parmesan. Sounded like a dream combo, and honestly, it was — once it finally arrived. The only downside? The pizza took way too long. But here’s the thing: the bartender came over, genuinely apologized, and comped the pizza without me even asking. Total class act. So despite the delay, I walked out smiling. Great wine, flavorful pizza, and a vibrant, welcoming vibe — what more could you want after a long day?

Cute place with an exquisite patio (though I was too chilly to indulge) and excellent food and staff. I was dining alone and had the pleasure of being served by Adam (and later, Noe) who were kind, attentive, and made excellent recommendations. Though seemingly simple, their spaghetti and meatball was excellent. The perfect blend of fresh and spicy and hit the spot. The burrata bruschetta that someone recommended here was also excellent and was the perfect mix to hit every flavor profile available for a quite reasonable price (at happy hour I paid ~10 for each. Highly recommend! Especially if you have the pleasure of visiting when Adam or Noe are at the bar ✨

My coworker recommended I try this out, since I'm gluten free and love a good pizza. I decided to go with a simple burata margarita pizza, since I've been eating too much rich food lately. It was REALLY good. I wasn't sure I was going to be into such a saucy pizza, but the sauce was flavorful, and thick, and really hit the spot honestly. The gluten free crust was crunchy and held up well. I don't think it's house made (I could be wrong) but for a pre-made crust it was surprisingly good. I also had the ceasar salad, not pictured, which was crisp and refreshing and had lots of tasty parmesan. The leaves were massive, but I managed to mostly not look like a vegetable barbarian while eating it. Great service, loud and busy but really nice open layout, so it didn't feel suffocating. I got in right away cause I was by myself and could just sit at the bar. The location is very cool, as it's in an outdoor very modern mall kind of area. Anyways, just go eat there. It's great.

The meal (a vegetarian pizza with burrata cheese) was very delicious! The attitude of the manager was not polite. We went in for a light dinner on a Saturday at around 7:30pm, and the restaurant seemed to have quite a few tables available. Yet, the manager told us that we would have to wait for 20 minutes as ‘there were no tables’! Despite my husband pointing out to the unoccupied tables, the manager seemed to act indifferently and said that only the tables at bar were available! We decided to wait and see. The manager came in 5-7 minutes to seat us in one of the many tables that had been empty anyway. The food’s taste got my mind off but the rude attitude was surely unwanted.

Had the pizzas and some appetizers, and it wasn't bad but not great. The fennel sausage was a disappointing, but the funghi pizza was my favourite. It's a nice atmosphere with lots of seating, but it's quite loud so it's difficult to talk. Overall, decent food for a fair price, but more a place for vibes rather than outstanding food.

Capo's is a newly opened Italian restaurant in San Francisco that specializes in Chicago-style pies. The décor and atmosphere are reminiscent of old-fashioned speakeasies, and the pizzas are some of the best in town.
This is my new favorite restaurant in not just North Beach but The city as a whole. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Grace especially. She makes you feel like a regular your first time there. Went twice in as many days. The Sausage appetizer was the winner for me. Their Detroit is fantastic. But leave room for the cannoli. They do it right! This place will be on the itinerary everytime Im in the city from now on.

This is the best pizza spot in SF, hands down. They only make chicago deep dish, detroit deep dish, and tavern style thin crust, but if you like those 3 styles, there is no reason to go anywhere else in the city. Same menu as Tony's down the street and same quality, with none of the wait time issues. Staff is super nice and friendly and you can get a table almost always instantly. Pizza is absolutely delicious here, love this place. So many varieties with sauces and toppings. Must, must, must check them out.

So many great reviews and we wanted a great Italian dinner for our last night in SF. Thankfully I got reservations online because this place gets busy. When we walked in it felt like we were transformed back to old Chicago. The plush leather seats, dark atmosphere and mobsters pictures on the walls. The staff were awesome! Our server was “N” but can’t remember her name. Spectacular 💫 She was helpful and so friendly. We decided on a couple glasses of wine (very tasty too) and the Caesar salad. When it came out my eyes bulged out. It’s HUGE!!! Omg it was scrumptious with fresh Parmesan and the anchovies on top. LOVED IT! She helped us pick the Old Chicago (think cracker crust). The deep dishes were way too much for us to finish. It didn’t take long to come out and it was simply amazing as well. Loved every single bite. You have to stop here for the food, atmosphere and service!

Capo's lives up to its name as the top! The Italian food here is superb. We started with the caprese salad which had poached tomatoes that were skinned and had a light spatter of olive oil. I loved it. The staff was awesome, and took care of our party (apparently Tony G was there bussing tables). It is on the smallish side. Great looking bar with TVs. You can eat at the bar. The food was really good. Instead of pizza, opted for the lasagne. I liked it, word of caution, it's huge, cheesy, saucy and sweet. Thad a small pizza of the Michigan Ave bar tavern style. Right up my alley in terms of what I prefer in pizza. Your rally can't go wrong with any of the pizza offerings. Pistachio cannoli was delicious. Shell was crunchy. I had the buying, which again is right up my alley and I'd order again. The only suggestion I have is to offer some sort of whits sauce of maybe clam sauce for a pasta dish. Non-tomato based, non-spicy, for lighter eaters. We made do with the pesto. Another great spot in North Beach. Casual and relaxed, although lively.

I've lived in the city for 18 years and never tried this restaurant until last night. I can still taste the pesto pasta and the salad 24 hours later. Blown away by this amazing chef. This is my new spot, hands down. There's something special going on in there. Keep being amazing guys 🙌

Arizmendi Bakery is a worker-owned cooperative cafe and bakery known for its freshly made breads, sweets, and thin-crust pizzas. The no-frills setting features bustling bakers and massive ovens visible behind the counter. Patrons can enjoy the daily $5 lunch special, which includes a slice of artisan vegetarian sourdough pizza with a side salad. The bakery offers seasonally inspired pies with changing ingredients daily, along with an array of breads and pastries.
Arizmendi Bakery is a must-visit gem in San Francisco's Inner Sunset neighborhood near Golden Gate Park. I highly recommend it for locals and tourists alike. The sign outside brought me in. For those of you who've seen Inside Out, do you remember the scene about broccoli pizza? Arizmendi inspired it. I came in for the pizza by the slice, but left with more goodies from their extensive and delicious bakery shelves. The breadsticks in particular are not to be missed. As for the pizza, you can get a palm-sized hot slice for $3.50. That's an excellent value for something so tasty. It was enough for a light lunch, but I could have easily bought two without breaking the bank. There's a parklet outside and some other benches to sit and eat. Golden Gate Park is about a 10-15 minute walk away if you'd like another option for a great picnic. Arizmendi is a worker-owned cooperative (co-op), which also makes them stand out. You see it in the care that the worker-owners take in their goods, and in the assistance the front-of-house staff offer their customers. I'm very happy to support this unique and important business model. I can't wait to come back to Arizmendi Bakery the next time I'm on my way to the Japanese Tea Garden, Botanical Garden, DeYoung Art Museum, the Cal Academy of Science, or anything else in the nearby area. Save a couple of broccoli slices for me 😋

We got the pumpkin muffins, the sourdough croissant, a pecan roll and a daily special pizza. The muffin was the only thing that was worth the wait in line. It was soft and sweet with little bits of sugar on top. The croissant had that bad sour chemical taste. The pecan roll had raises in it which threw off the taste and texture of what would have been a very tasty roll. The pizza was better than Costco but not more than double the price good.

my new fav bakery! i love how many options they have without egg!!!! the scones were absolutely perfect, not too sweet and buttery. the handheld focaccias and breads were really good as well!! the only thing i wish they had done better was offer small sides of cheese, butter, or some topping for the items so we wouldn’t have to purchase a large jar of cream cheese for one small pastry. other than that, i love this place!!!

This is a must. We cannot come to San Francisco without making a stop. Had the daily pizza special - mushroom and Gruyère cheese - it was heavenly. Also suggest grabbing some of their breadsticks. Imagine the best pizza crust you’ve ever had topped with butter and parm. You can’t go wrong

I really like the corn cherry scones and bran muffins. Pizza is best when it’s very fresh, so eat there or get a half bake and warm it at home. The cookies are quite chewy—would prefer them slightly more tender but they are still fine. I also enjoyed a honey wheat bun here. Bottom line is that this is a fine bakery that really knows how to put out good products.

Pie Punks is a new pizza place that offers various types of crusts such as thin, grandma, and Detroit. They also have a great cocktail selection and a spicy tomato sauce that's highly recommended. Customers appreciate the option to make substitutions on their pizzas. The atmosphere is described as chill, and the staff are friendly. While some customers had to wait for service, others found the servers to be solid.
Highly highly recommend this pizza joint for your next dinner out. We found Pie Punks on google and were drawn to it because of its very good reviews. The decor and ambience of this place is unmatched, it’s got a great vibe as soon as you walk in. The staff and friendly and they have a great selection of drinks and food. We ordered a Detroit pizza and salad to share, both of which were delicious, fresh and presented well. Service was also very quick. Cannot recommend this restaurant more to someone who wants fast service and tasty food.

We came here for dinner after a conference at the Moscone center. It’s less than a 10 min walk. The indoor seating was full so we ate outside. I ordered the Detroit style chopped cheese pizza and my friend ordered the round pepperoni. The chopped cheese was delicious. It was melt cheese, ground beef, ketchup, lettuce, pickle and tomato and was so good. The crust was thick but light and fluffy. I really liked it. I tried the pepperoni too and enjoyed it, but not as much as the Detroit style. The service was friendly though they never refilled our waters. I’d definitely come back. Very good pizza.

I was looking to try a new pizza spot in the city, and Pie Punks was close to my hotel—so we decided to give it a shot, and I’m glad we did. The atmosphere has a fun mix of pop culture and vintage vibes, which I really enjoyed. The energy inside the restaurant was great. We sat at the bar top and were helped right away. To start, we ordered some cheese curds, and then shared two different slices of pizza to try a bit of everything. The cheese curds were amazing—honestly, they were my favorite part of the meal. The pizza was okay—not bad, but nothing too special. I’d definitely come back, especially since it’s close to where I usually stay when I’m in the city. The vibes are on point, and it's a cool spot to hang out and grab a bite.

OMG – this pizza spot is incredible! The vibe is on point, and the 90s hip hop soundtrack is everything. We tried the crispy broccolini, Detroit pepperoni, and thin crust pepperoni – all amazing. The Detroit-style pie had those crispy edges and was packed with flavor, and the broccolini made the perfect side. I’d order that Detroit again in a heartbeat! We’re in town for a conference and seriously wish we had found this place sooner—we would’ve come back for round two. Do yourself a favor and support this local gem. You won’t regret it! #supportlocal

Stumbled upon this place when trying to find a place to eat somewhat near the Financial district. We got half tomato and half garlic round pizza and both were delicious! Crust was perfect thickness and the two kinds of pizza that we ordered balanced each other really well. Really loved how the garlic pizza had actual pieces of garlic on top ;) Vibes inside were great as well!

Great music and an 80s theme setting. It was very chill. The Detroit pizza was pretty good. It was a lighter deep dish and was a smaller portion than some of the bigger pies, but was still enough to feed both of us. It had good flavor with the spicy sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The prices were fair for the area. The servers were attentive and food came out quickly and hot. There's a good selection of beer and hard drinks. The ghost town beer was pretty good.
Larry R — Google review
We had the Waikiki Sneaky Detroit-style pizza, which was delicious with a nice spicy kick, while others in our group ordered the Fredo and Vodka Martini pizzas — both were a hit. Drinks were just as good, especially the Zombie Punk and Rita Hayworth cocktails. Fun vibe, good tunes, and tasty food all around — definitely worth a visit!

Wow. I’ve only tried two pizza flavors here and just wow. Pesto is fresh with flavorful olive oil, and the hot honey is just sweet spicy complex tomato pepper goodness. I’m salivating writing about it.

The price is reasonable and the taste is really nice! I would like to recommend to drop by this pizza restaurant! The Korean staff is kind, too!

Really tasty sourdough style pizza but very expensive. We ordered a large pesto pizza, add jalapeños, and our total after tax and tip came out to $50. On top of that they charged $3 for a side of hot sauce. Prjce aside, it is very good pizza - blistered crackly crust and super tasty sauce.

Delicious pizza. Definitely one of the better pies in the city. Gluten free crust also available!

The pizza here is an absolute must try. They do everything right using fresh ingredients and they pay attention to every detail. The owners are awesome and care about your experience. This pizza is worth the wait if there is one. I had pepperoni and pesto and it was one of the best pies in the city by far.

Wow the pizza was so good. I can’t go back for a while because of the cost, but my experience was a great one. You order up front and then take a number and seat yourself in the nice dining area. Good place to watch sports, there are TVs and coloring sheets for children. Was introducing my friend to SF pizza and this certainly made the cut.

Had the meatball sandwich on a random weeknight… still thinking about it. Great patient staff and a selection of local beer available too, so that’s a plus (even better was the staff was knowledgeable about it). Clean and a great fast stop after a game or one of the breweries in the area. I will be back (still thinking of the perfect sub, great bread, awesome meatballs and good sauce)

This was not only amazing pizza, but the staff. They cater to the hearing impaired. So many differnt flavors and some I didn't think I'd like but were great like almond and spinach. I'd highly recommend going here and trying something new. The fire oven makes the best pizza.

Great pizza, great people! If you haven’t experienced the feeling of a place that is quite and yet, buzzing with communication, pay Mozzeria a visit. I have tried three of their pizza types, all outstanding. Their wood fired oven and atmosphere are extra welcoming and cozy on cold, dim days.

Shuggie’s Trash Pie + Natural Wine is a vibrant and quirky spot in the Mission, featuring a lively bottle list with wines from the West Coast and beyond. The place offers two-dollar wine shots and serves up unique trash pizzas made from repurposed food waste. The dining rooms are an eclectic mix of green and yellow walls, glitter bars, fringe lamps, and oversized pea-green chairs that create a kitschy fever dream atmosphere.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. This place is truly why I love San Francisco restaurants. Everything about this place from the service to the food to the design was phenomenal. My family and I walked in on a Sunday evening (a day that they have a live band playing for their customers) and we didn’t have a reservation but they were very quick and kind to accommodate us. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the food service was very speedy, and the waiter kindly gave us their recommendation on which was their favorite without being overbearing. I would highly recommend getting the Caccio e Pepe pillow and the asparagus appetizers. The pizza was more than amazing. We ordered 3/4 pizzas on the menu to try and might I say - what a unique experience of flavors it was. I would HIGHLY recommend this place, and I would recommend to go out of your way for it too! It’s great food at a reasonable price. Would just say to make a reservation especially if you’re planning to go on a Tuesday or Sunday, because that’s when live music is played in their restaurant. Thank you to all of the amazing staff there!
Dahlia N — Google review
NO PIZZA ANY MORE. Pretty good food but they dropped pizza from the menu except on Sundays. The place is really cool decor and the staff friendly, but they did make a mistake on the order and forgot the notes about the birthday, so a bit of a bummer. ** They also changed $12 per lemon waters for my kiddo each which was expensive for 3 ($36 on water with a squirt of lemon juice in it).
Andrew S — Google review
Super fun and trendy restaurant!! I do think the pizza could be a bit more filling especially for the price but it was very flavorful. The vibes in here are perfect for a girls night or a small party. They had a deal for restaurant week that was $30 per person for 2 pizzas, 2 apps, and a dessert. Definitely worth it for such a trendy space!!

Food was great. We’ve never been when they were serving their trash pies but we’re glad to try out their new menu. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Tuna Crudo could’ve done with more meat. Overall food and service were amazing.

Shuggies had always been one of my favorite spots in the city. They put their heart and soul into their food and you can tell. The creativity they have brought into the space, the unique plating, the way their team feels like a proper family, you don’t get this many other places in the city. Their menu changes regularly and they are able to navigate dietary restrictions with lots of vegan options even if it’s not listed explicitly on the menu. Their sake and wine list and top tier and with Jazz on Tuesday and Thursday it’s a perfect date nite or friend hang. You’re missing out if you’re not stopping by!
Autumn S — Google review
Pros: drinks were great, the decor is phenomenal, food presentation is creative, the 'polenta' dish was tasty Cons: we expected pizza and there was no pizza, we ordered a tuna dish and were served a literal rib cage that we had to scrape with a spoon (my partner couldn't eat it because it was too graphic), menu listings were vague and somewhat inaccurate such as the "polenta" dish that was actually grits, music was so loud that we couldn't talk (and they played Drake 🤢), a bit expensive to get food that isn't what you want
Rachel N — Google review
Loved Shuggie’s when it was a pizza place, but I’m not a big fan of the redesign. Frankly, the food just doesn’t taste very good, and it’s also fairly pricey (roughly $35/small entree, $20/appetizer). Atmosphere is still great, but vibes can’t save the food. Also have to call them out for their suggested tip range of 20%-27%, which is absurd.
Helen — Google review
Super fun interior. Got the cheese pizza, meatball with cauliflower pureé, Caesar salad, garlic knots with ricotta, and cocktails. Their mission statement to use food that would otherwise be discarded is noble. But is it all hype?…the food was good, would recommend their meatballs (had an Indian undertone), the cheese pizza was crispy like a cracker but succulent and juicy. Def make reservations ahead of time, this is place is fun. Would recommend if you’re looking for a unique take on food. Head chef was cool too! Interior design is rock solid 🪩✨

Za Pizza is a popular neighborhood spot known for its thin-crust pies with generous toppings. Located in the trendy Mission neighborhood of San Francisco, it offers both deep-dish and thin-crust options. The place has a laid-back vibe and is frequented by locals and families. Customers have praised the outstanding tomato sauce and the delicious crust, which is prepared fresh on-site.
Everything about this place just clicks and works perfectly. The music, the children’s art on the wall, the overall vibe is a true California pizza shop vibe. They got a number of slice options, the Monday meat is very good. The sausage and the garlic go well together. The thing that really makes this spot is the dough. It’s super light and crispy, not bready at all but it holds its texture perfectly. Also the pizza isn’t super salty or overwhelming. It’s literally all you could want in a perfect slice. Also gotta point out that this place does what Tony’s fails to do and actually serves the slice HOT out of the oven. Really can’t say enough good things, huge hot slice of pizza, fair price, fun staff, in a chill unique environment. Definitely worth a stop if in the neighborhood. They sell whole pies too that get made to order. Will be back.

One of the few casual lunch spots on Russian Hill you can find open mid-week. Unpretentious, small space, with limited choices displayed on a white board menu. I sat at the counter and went with the Monday Meat "Special" - sweet sausage, tomato, garlic and basil. It was satisfying, delicious and inexpensive. A great slice with good beer on tap. What else could you want?

We randomly walked into this restaurant, and it turned out to be the place where we had the best time in San Francisco. The walls were filled with children's drawings, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff were friendly, and we had an especially delightful conversation with the server. The slice was huge, and every dish we tried was delicious. Especially, the rich flavor of crust was nice. The IPA beer was top-notch too. The salad was split according to the number of people and served on separate plates, and the portions were so generous. It was such a great meal for a reasonable price. If you're looking to have fond memories, I highly recommend this place. I was really hoping to visit again since the server mentioned he works on Sunday, but our travel plan got changed, so we couldn’t make it. I’m looking forward to visiting again someday on my next trip and having another enjoyable chat with him! 👏

This is the pizza from your childhood. Amazing crisp crust. That perfect tomato sauce with a blend of seasonings that only enhance the crust and cheese. The Cheese brings joy. It is not only flavorful but that has that really nice chewy texture. The Pepperoni's are glorious. The right amount of salty and spicy. 3 tables and a counter. Staff is frankly, sweet and kind. It's quintessential San Francisco dining. It doesn't look like much, but it's amazing.

Best pizza in San Fran. Hands down! Such a delight, it was perfectly executed, the flavors were on point, the service was fantastic! Good vibes all around, the people seemed happy to be there which matters! Tartine Manufactory is a spacious and vibrant spot located in the Mission district, known for its exceptional bread, pastries, and sandwiches. The bakery offers a variety of options including heritage grain loaves, sweet pastries, and rustic sandwiches. The sourdough crust on their pies is particularly noteworthy for its unique texture and flavor. In addition to the bakery, there's a coffee counter, ice cream window, and small wine bar available.
If you are a bread lover, head over to Tartine without a doubt. The quality, heartiness & freshness is amazing. We tried a bunch of things - croissant (classic), avocado toast (unique take with spicy nut salsa), the egg sandwich (so satisfying) and the mushroom chive cheese danish( umamified). The coffee beautifully compliments the meal. The place gives off an industrial chic vibe with bright windows pouring in nice daylight. Great breakfast/brunch place overall.

Tartine never stops exceeding my expectations. Every time I visit, I’m blown away. The sourdough bread is absolutely spectacular—perfectly tangy and elastic, a true testament to quality craftsmanship. All the ingredients are top-notch. The turkey sandwich was simply sublime. I especially want to highlight the hospitality and service of Juan. It’s clear he’s a genuinely kind person—gracious, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. His warmth truly elevated the experience. We’ll definitely be coming back to Tartine.

The croissant was so good with a proper crunch followed by soft buttery layers. The ham and cheese worked well together to make this a savory bite but it was surprising that the jalapeño slices were essentially like eating the raw pepper (not great - but overlooking it because the croissant was so good!). I wish the croissant was warmed as it probably would have taken it to the next level. That aside, lovely atmosphere at the Manufactory with lots of seating and natural light. They also seem to be using plates from the neighboring ceramics shop which was a nice touch. There was a short queue outside the building on a Saturday afternoon but it moved quickly.

13 of us dined here on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration. We had the fixed chefs menu, and to say that no one leaves hungry is an understatement! There was such an amazing variety of appetizers, salads, pizza, and desserts! We had five courses with 13 different menu items brought to the table shared family style. Good: - The bread with butter was amazing even though it was just bread! - The egg sandwich was amazing - really liked the combo of cheese with the bread - The seating is plentiful and it's very beautiful inside, modern and upscale vibes Bad: - The line is definitely long, we waited about 45 min to get inside - The staff are always walking around and watching to make sure people aren't sitting for too long - it's nice but it's also a bit anxiety inducing Overall this place was beautiful inside, and glad that I finally got a chance to eat here!

Great option for brunch. The food was amazing and their wine options were fantastic for breakfast wine! There was a line outside but we realized it was line to order not to grab a table. The bread is delicious as well. My friend got the fig pastry and said it was perfect.

The sourdough bread is amazing. Super light and crunchy on the outside and moist and soft on the inside. A must order. The kale Caesar is a nice balanced Caesar salad. Would recommend. The crab gnocchi was super pillow-y soft and a lighter creaminess. The bit of lemon really helped the dish. In order of recommendation: bread > kale salad > crab gnocchi.

The restaurant pays homage to the women cooks in Ardiana's family and offers playful twists on Neapolitan classics. Known for its seasonal wood-fired pizzas and pasta dishes, Ragazza has garnered a dedicated following.
Honestly, this is my favourite spot in SF. For starters, the humans are terrific. Warm, kind, hilarious, and genuine. The environment is buzzy and cozy— perfect for date night or dinner with la familia. And then, the food! We loved the kale salad, it was a light & refreshing start to the meal. I’m gluten free, and the pizza base was definitely one of the better ones I’ve had! Hot honey pizza is a must. We can’t wait to come back, and we’re so glad we found this gem!

Pizza is wack, everything else was solid. Some of the pizzas we ordered were covered in a salad’s worth of lettuce or arugula, and there was no way of knowing from the description that there would be that many salad greens layered on top of the pies. The pizza itself was cooked well with a nice char and crust, just ruined by the toppings. The appetizers were good though, and the service was excellent.
Alex C — Google review
Been coming here for over a decade when it used to be a Nepalese restaurant. Their pizza is legit. The New York is where it's at. We recently ordered the mushroom pizza which turned out to be heavy on the arugula. Ordered their burata as well as the beet salad. So simple but the fresh ingredients bring it to another level. The pot de creme is massive. They have outdoor seating by reservation. Highly recommend!
Kay B — Google review
Love their pizza. We ordered a margherita pizza and added prosciutto and an egg. We also ordered the Baby Kale w/ avocado, watermelon radish and goddess dressing as well as the Marinated broccoli with anchovies. Both the salad and the broccoli were yummy. I really like their outdoor patio in the back. Parking isn’t always the easiest in the area but you may luck out. Service was good and food was delish!

Came here on a weeknight for dinner the moment they opened, so we had the staff's full attention. Nice service and solid dinner. The back patio is surrounded by plants but the view of the plants is a little obscured by plastic barrier that probably helps reduce the wind and bugs. The Nutella pizza was a bit much for dessert; fine in the moment but preferably shared among more than two people.

This place was delicious and at a really good price for being SF too! Came around 7 and there was no wait. All the stuff we ordered was delicious (didn't take pictures of all of it, because hungry). Great spot for a date or just a couple of roommates catching up on dinner. That spaghetti. Wow. Mary's chicken breast. Such a tender and juicy chicken, absolutely delicious. This burrata grapefruit salad was also delicious. Not pictured: Puttanesca Pie: my favorite dish of the night

I came here with friends on a whim after foolishly thinking a group of 3 could get into Che Fico without a reservation on a Friday. It was fantastic! Excellent service and every dish we tried was delicious. We ordered: the lamb meat balls (sauce to die for) garlic knots (crispy on the outside but soft and puffy on the inside) Arancini (can’t go wrong with fried risotto) Brussel sprout pizza (balanced with bacon bits) Butternut squash rigatoni (very tasty! The crumble on top is sweet which I didn’t expect) Overall great experience! Pictures are post meal because we were too excited to eat!

Popular spot so get ready to wait an hour if you don't have a reso. The restaurant itself is cozy but I think they could do more to enhance the ambience. The food overall is delicious, especially the cavatelli and the pizza. The chicken was cooked well but we didn't really like the sauce and sides so I wouldn't recommend. Kale and arugula salads were tasty and the dates were delicious.

Che Fico is a trendy restaurant in San Francisco that has gained popularity for its inventive Italian cuisine. It was recognized by Bon Appetit as one of the Hot 10 Best New Restaurants in 2018. The menu features handmade pastas, pizzas, and seasonal Cal-Italian dishes, along with a variety of wines and cocktails. The second-floor taverna offers a vibrant dining experience with a seasonal menu that includes Jewish-Roman creations like suppli and pollo arrosto.
We held our wedding reception at Che Fico, and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, everything was so easy to plan—the team made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The food and drinks were incredible—our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was. The service was equally impressive: professional, attentive, and friendly. One of the things that made this venue so special is how beautiful the space is on its own. We didn’t need to add much in terms of decor—it already had such a warm, elegant atmosphere that it felt ready for a celebration as-is. (Photos by Kacie Jean Photography)

Che Fico never disappoints. The short braised rib ravioli was absolutely incredible — rich, tender, and full of flavor in every bite. The focaccia bread was perfectly soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of olive oil and salt. On top of the amazing food, the service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. A must-visit spot in San Francisco🌉for anyone who appreciates great Italian food done right.
Carli B — Google review
Brunch perfection. We came to Che Fico for Sunday brunch and it was incredible — easily one of the best meals I’ve had in San Francisco. The whole experience felt welcoming and familiar, like being part of something special. We started with the focaccia — warm, soft, and subtly sweet with apple, caramel glaze, mascarpone, and wildflower honey. The perfect opener: comforting, fragrant, and beautifully balanced. Drinks were a highlight too — the Tramanto (Pathfinder, candied orange, thyme, citrus) was bright and refreshing, and the Luigi Giordano Brut Nature Rosé added just the right sparkle. For mains, we had the Prosciutto Cotto e Uova (poached egg, prosciutto, heirloom tomato, hollandaise) and Uova in Purgatorio (arrabiata, torpedo onion, sunshine yolk, ciabatta). Both were layered, flavorful, and plated with care. We finished with the maritozzo — a brioche filled with ricotta, pomegranate, candied citrus, and orange blossom. Light, creamy, and the perfect finale. Every dish felt intentional and made with love. Excellent service, gorgeous space, and food worth remembering. Can’t wait to go back.

Everything that we ordered did not disappoint. You can tell that everything here is very intentional. From the wallpaper, the plants, the cocktails, the napkins, the dishes…all of it connected so well. Very quirky wallpaper in the bathrooms too. The salad itself was all I really needed. And the chefs behind the chef’s counter were so focused on all the details. Whoever was in charge of the music did not disappoint either. Good job Che Fico!
Sarah R — Google review
This chic and modern California influenced Italian restaurant offers something for every palate. Whether you’re looking for a rich and savory meal or light and refreshing bites, Che Fico will make sure everyone is taken care of. We started our meal off with the Supplì, a fried tomato risotto, and the fresh, hand-pulled mozzarella that was plated on a pool of Sicilian olive oil. The acidity of the Supplì was gently complemented by the creamy mozzarella. The servers will warn you, and I can attest, that the Supplì is extremely hot when it comes out. We found that the optimal way to cool the center was by letting our phones eat first and carefully executing a cheese pull. Our next course was the Lasagna Verde– an incredible 10-layer homemade spinach pasta alternating with an almost decadent lamb ragu. The corner and edges of the pasta were light and crispy and resembled artichoke leaves when it was first served to us. This dish definitely left us wanting more and we made sure not to waste any of the bechamel that the lasagna was resting on. Choosing the next two dishes was a bit tough and we wanted more variety to really see if Che Fico could continue to hit the nail on the head. The Animelle Di Vitello, a veal sweetbread served with butter beans and shishito peppers, was the pick-me-up we didn’t know our meal needed. The tender butter beans, and melt in your mouth shisito peppers with the saucy, yet still crispy, veal sweetbread was my favorite bite of the night. This dish somehow unified so many of my favorite ingredients into one and it was executed so well. One dish that wasn’t on the menu, our last savory dish of the night– roasted eggplant topped with fried shallots, fresh basil, and lightly pickled peppers. We dug in with the spoon we were given to see just how soft the eggplant would be, but were surprised when the spoon came to a halt at the uncooked center. Our server, Elizabeth, was so kind and urged us to allow them to refire the dish as they had just added it to the menu that morning and wanted to ensure that we were able to enjoy the dish at its full potential. The refire of the roasted eggplant was lovely and was actually a great way to end a heavy meal. Each spoonful of eggplant was packed with umami that was a perfect contrast to the tartness that the pickled peppers brought. We somehow saved room for dessert and had to have Elizabeth choose for us. We were pleased to see a classic tiramisu with a healthy serving of mascarpone on top. After taking my first bite, I quickly learned that tiramisu had more texture than I thought. I don’t think I will be able to enjoy any old tiramisu as much after this one. Each layer was prominent yet balanced and we weren’t overwhelmed with sugar. The ladyfingers still had structure while still bringing a punch of coffee that was immediately toned down by the mascarpone. Che Fico, I can’t wait to visit again. My first experience was actually a few years back when their downstairs bar was open for small plates and drinks and I had been waiting for the right moment to come back. (Hint: anytime is the right moment to come back)

My experience at their Sunday brunch was sincerely one of the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were ready to order by the time they brought us water, which was a good 10-15 minutes after we sat down. 40 minutes went by and we were starving, so we ordered bloody mary’s to help the time pass. The bloody marys were basically blended salsa and way too sweet. It was so awkward, but it was over an hour and fifteen minutes since we ordered and our food still hadn’t come, so I got up and asked our waiter for the check. They apologized and weren’t rude, but ran to the kitchen to check on our meals and of course immediately came out with our plates. They explained they were training new people and apologized again, comping only our drinks. As noted in the pictures, the food looked like it was sitting out for a while. The food was not hot, and there was a film over the hollandaise sauce. We left the restaurant with uneasy stomachs. I think the staff should take food safety protocols more seriously. I will not be returning.

A designer’s gem, where the interior stands as equal to the expert delivery on California-style Italian cuisine. An industrial space, softened with colorful wallpapers, potted plants, dried bouquets, and modern chandeliers. An excellent date spot, or a fashionable family outing — look for the massive communal table! Squash Blossom Pizza, delish — doing well to celebrate local seasonal California bounty. Roast Carrots, an amazing elevation of something normally so pedestrian.

We visited at 1pm and didn’t realize it was still the brunch menu for that time, but we were still happy with our meal. We initially had a hard time understanding the menu, but our waitress was very nice and did a great job at explaining the dishes to us. For drinks, I ordered the acqua fresca which was a rhubarb drink that was so good. My husband ordered the limonatta, and that was good too but not as good as the acqua fresca. As a starter, we got the focaccia bread, and—my goodness, this bread in combination with the marscapone and honey was amazing. That alone was worth our 15 minutes circling blocks for parking. If you are here for the brunch menu, you must order this. If anyone from the restaurant reads this review, please share with me where I can purchase that amazing honey. That was the best honey I have ever tasted, wow. For our mains, my husband ordered the panino per la colazione which is a breakfast sandwich. It was okay, I liked the jam on it. I ordered the prosciuotto cotto pizza and it was decent. The crust was amazing. We would love to come here again and try a pasta dish, along with a pizza with different toppings. But, they have a savory version of the focaccia bread for dinner, so that would be interesting to try, but seems like it would be hard surpass how amazing the brunch blueberry focaccia is. We loved the focaccia so much, we did two orders to go so that our family could taste it.

The Pizza Shop, located on 24th street, is a vibrant and modern pizzeria that offers thin-crust pizzas by the slice or whole. Despite its contemporary coffee shop ambiance, the pizzeria has gained popularity for its flavorful sauce and high-quality cheese that perfectly complement the occasionally crackery but always tender and crisp crust. The unassuming nature of the place allows their delicious slices to speak for themselves.
Awesome pizza. Very light for pizza. Perfectly crispy, no flop. Tangy sauce. Nice owner/employees. Spacious environment with open windows and very clean. Clean bathroom too.

Nice pizza joint, with a pretty good atmosphere. I got a white spinach slice and the sauce is okay, but could use some more seasonings. The staff were friendly but casual, very welcoming. The gender neutral restroom is always a nice to have, and was very clean. Overall? I’ll be back whenever I’ve got some down time in the bay.

The Pizza Shop transports me back to being a kid in the 90s in Upstate NY. The Pizza by the Slice model is great for a variety of toppings. The delicious crispy crust with the right amount of stiffness to droop (fold it in half!), the perfect amount of cheese to sauce, the slight amount of grease on top... Drool. I'm so glad we found the Pizza Shop - it's a great little place with friendly staff.

The cheese pie is one of the best in San Francisco. Thin crust and crispy. New York style. But when I got other ingredients on the pie, there was not enough toppings. Way too skimpy on everything I ordered.

They say “Believe in pizza again”. Well, I restored my trust in pizza. I’m so glad I stopped by at this pizza spot. It was just by chance. As a person who loves nyc-style pizza, I savored every bite. We had pesto jalapeno, white spinach, and pepperoni mushroom. The dough was flat and crispy, not starchy. I could taste the freshness of tomatoes from the sauce. Pepperoni wasn’t overly salty and true to how it should taste like. Pesto jalapeno had a tasty kick which I loved so much. Every piece was purely pleasant. Can’t wait to throw a pizza party with friends with their whole pizzas.

I tried four different slices. Pretty good NY slices as far as crust/sauce/cheese, but across the board the toppings barely cut through. I ended having to put a bunch of chili flakes on to get any real flavor beyond the crust/cheese/sauce taste.

Stopped in at the Pizza Shop for a quick slice while on 24th street. Not sure if it was slow time but we ended up with a dry and stale slice that was very hard and crunchy. Perhaps next time I would order a whole pizza rather than a slice.

"The Pizza Place on Noriega" is a cozy pizza joint located in the residential Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. It stands out as a gem among the limited pizzerias in the area, offering a variety of options including gluten-free choices, lunchtime grinders, and Italian dinners. The restaurant also features an outdoor patio for al fresco dining. Open daily for lunch and weekends, it caters to locals and visitors alike with its delicious deep-dish and thin-crust pizzas.
Great pizza. The price for a medium pizza was not too bad, and they have a great beer selection. We loved the sweet potato steak fries. Nice staff too.

Slightly more expensive slice ($16 for two slices), but full of fresh ingredients. I got the Meat Lovers and the Greek and the Meat Lovers was the better of the two. But I liked all the olives and the fresh tomatoes on the Greek. On the Meat Lovers, there were too many onions, otherwise great meat.

My "rating" Is some Google weirdness. I have never eaten at The Pizza Place. My only connection to it is that I once put it in as a destination in Google Maps because I could not remember where the bus stop for the #7 bus was but remembered that it was next to The Pizza Place. So you may be zero stars or you may be five stars, but I have no way of knowing! Best wishes, in any case. Someday when I'm not rushing for the bus I will stop in and try your pizzas.

Went for the first time today and got pizza for takeaway. Ordered a large to share with my wife; we have leftovers for tomorrow! Good choice of toppings, really liked the pizza dough and vegan cheese is an option for those that want it. Cindy the owner was lovely and welcoming. We'll definitely be back for a sit down meal.

Beware, over priced and terrible pizza. To add insult to injury, we were yelled at by the staff for taking napkins and plates to our table. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, as there are much better pizzas places in SF.

I had a great experience here The pizza is amazing, I tried the Mushrooms and the Sunset Aloha one As a drink I got a California Cider and uff. Can't recommend it more! They also have live entertainment, and it was amazing I was lucky enough to see the beach and the moon at the same time, all in one location Keep it up with the amazing work Thanks !

We had wings and specialty pizza, it was delicious. The wings were amazing, super crispy and just in general delicious. The sweet potato fries are excellent, crispy on the outside and extra delicious. We had a medium pizza with vegan cheese, which the kiddo promptly devoured and the adults had a gluten free with vegan cheese and all those delicious toppings, bacon, jalapeno, pineapple, pepperoni. So good all around!

Beretta is a laid-back Italian restaurant known for its delicious pizza, pasta, and small plates. It has two locations in the Mission and Marina districts, both offering a casual yet trendy atmosphere. The restaurant is popular for its well-crisped pies and creative cocktails. Beretta also features a cozy private dining room perfect for special occasions.
Found this spot during a stroll on Divisadero. Never heard anyone talk about this place but the beautiful glass entrance doors made me curious. We visited in the afternoon, and they had a happy hour menu that had cocktails, pizza and a few other dishes. Service was 10/10, Atmosphere/Design was nice and food was appropriately priced (especially during happy hour!).

The bucatini is excellent, noodle texture is 5/5. The spicy Italian sausage pizza also excellent. The saffron risotto is too al dente for my liking. Definitely didn't like the spring risotto

This was our first visit to this location had been to the Mission location before. The ambiance was a bit dark and gloomy to me, the Pizzas were chewy. The Cesar salad was good but the beet salad did not have enough beets. The Brussels sprouts was good and the walnut bread with burrito and honey was expensive $12 for 3 half pieces. The butternut squash ravioli was good and so were the tow deserts we shared

5 stars Beretta on Divisadero — this is your golden hour ritual after the Painted Ladies. Picture this: it’s 4 PM, you’ve just soaked in that classic San Francisco postcard view — and now you’re here, at Beretta, ordering Arancini, a Pizza Margherita with burrata, and a glass of classic Prosecco. Honestly? That’s peak happiness. I didn’t know I missed good pizza this much — thin, crispy base, real dough, and that creamy burrata melting on top like it belongs there. Pure joy. And the Arancini? Oh man, that was my first time trying them, and it was like biting into a warm hug with a tiny green pea surprise inside. Soft, golden, delicate — Arancini is an Italian love poem you can eat. This isn’t just food. This is a memory. This is the kind of place you tell your friends about. This is a “Cyborg recommends” spot. To be continued… —Ilya 🦾

Loved our experience at Beretta! The meatball appetizer was delicious, the pizza was great, and decent wine selections. The only negative was the table we were seated at was too small for the food we ordered, still with one extra seat someone could have sat in. It was really narrow. Overall would definitely visit again when back in SF.

My now husband and I were lucky enough to have our September 2025 wedding at Beretta on Divisadero. The number one feedback we received from guests was that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. The calamari, arancini, meatballs, margherita with burrata pizza, and espresso martinis got the most shoutouts from guests. Everyone working that night was so accommodating and friendly and helpful; they felt like friends by the end of the night. We have nothing but amazing things to say about Raul and his staff. An additional shoutout to Courtney with events for being so easy to work with. Aside from our wedding, we eat at Beretta often. It is one of our favorite restaurants - consistently great food and drinks, and a fun/vibey/cozy atmosphere. We go at least once a month for date night, but we also have gone for milestone occasions (30th birthday dinner, meeting the in-laws, etc). It is the perfect restaurant for both casual and special get togethers.

I’ve been to both locations. The one on Divisadero feels a bit roomier. They have indoor and outdoor seating but the parklet is gone. My recent visit was Mother’s Day. They gave me a rose and a free bubbly or dessert. What a pleasant surprise. We ordered the arancini. It’s a must every time. Sometimes we order an extra one to go for a snack. It’s that good. She ordered the omelet and ordered the Chilaquile. For dessert we ordered the profiterole. We were hoping to take one or two home for later but it had ice cream so we couldn’t. Service was great as usual.

Sunset Squares is a pizza and craft beer restaurant that offers some of the most creative and delicious pies around. Their square pepperoni pizza is my favorite, but they also have great Chicago-style pizzas with thin crusts. Their toppings are always fresh and inventive, so there's really something for everyone on their menu. They also have an extensive selection of craft beers to choose from, making it the perfect place to get your pizza fix with some good company too!
Great place to catch a game, with a great communal vibe. If you're looking for a separate table, there's a handful, but the significant majority of seating is raised counters/barstools. On the weekends there's a variety of offerings from pizza, to breakfast foods, to Filipino cuisine even. The drink selection is great as well. Would definitely come back for a happy hour for some drinks and maybe some pizza / garlic fries (which we thought were outstanding!)

TLDR: confusing how to order what, the flavor of the slice was very conflicting and the cheese wasn’t melted I walked in to what seemed like a little market except the only thing open was the coffee shop. I waited in line to order with them only for them to tell me that I had to order the pizza at the kiosk next to the door. Went over to order and there was no description of the bulldog on the tablet so I had to look it up online. Ordered and waited for about 25 mins, a bit long for one square slice of pizza. The bulldog came out and it had bulgogi, bonito flakes, kimchi, tomato sauce and unmelted cheese. Before I got the first bite in my mouth, half the bonito flakes already flew off onto my clothes and the table. As I chewed the first bite, the odd combination of Korean meat, Japanese seafood flakes and tomato sauce with hard cheese really didn’t taste great to me. I finished it out of hunger and paying for it but it wasn’t very good

The Detroit (ish) pizza was amazing. The Cheesy crust was so yummy! The Garlic Fries were super garlicky, and not because they just dumped chunks of garlic on it. They were made properly with Garlic Oil and fried Garlic. So good! The wife got a Chicken Round pizza, and the Mochi Chicken bites and she enjoyed them. The kid got the Brunch French Toast and said it was very good. The beer selection was decent, and service was good. Everyone was super friendly.

Support asian establishments! Enviroment: Walked in at 5:30pm on a Friday and the place was pretty empty. Boom-bap rap was playing in the background most of the time while the NBA playoffs were streaming on TV. Service: You can order your self without talking to anyone by scanning the qr code at your table. Or, you can go to the bar and order like a normal person. Either way the food gets brought to you. I went to the bar to ask about nuts in the items I wanted. The staff was knowledgeable and assured me everything would be okay. Spoiler, they were right. Food: Sadly the pizza didn't live up to the hype for me. I'm not sure how they heated it up but the slice was lukewarm. Pretty sad considering not many people were there when I dined in. All it needed was like 2 more mins in the warmer... But dem fries doe. I would come here legit just to get a take out order of the garlic fries. Do not sleep on those bad bois.

Ordered the cheese sourdough square pizza (added chicken for my grandma but would’ve been better without) as takeout and really enjoyed eating it by the beach. It’s definitely not a traditional pizza and the crust is super chewy but for a sourdough-fiend like myself this was a treat. There was also a generous amount of cheese - the ricotta making it extra creamy. The slices are super thick and filling (I only needed 1 or 2). The broccoli dish had a slight kick and overall was very tasty. I loved the addition of roasted garlic and red onions although I would say it was slightly greasy (unnecessarily as I love a good greasy meal when it’s necessary). We also got the chopped salad which I ended up eating the next day. Very generous cheese topping but was yummy overall - I liked the dressing too. I couldn’t really taste any of the fresh herbs though which is usually my favorite additions to salad :( Overall would definitely recommend! I want to try some more interesting toppings and some of the beer next time!
Grace B — Google review
I was really excited when this place opened, but the pizza quality left something to be desired. Namely, top of the pizza crust was not fully cooked and the result was doughy. The cookie was good, but the texture of the cheesecake was much fluffier and more cake-like than I would expect a cheesecake to be.

Pixl Cat coffee, Namu stonepot, Uncle Tito’s, Girlfriend Pizza (all gluten free), Flash Crash $6 burger, Sunset Squares pizza, and maybe more menus coming soon? All so good! Went there for the first time and I can tell it will be a fav spot. It's located in the beautiful-unique Galleria building in the design district. Comfort food, great tasty sandwiches and the soup of the day was yummy! The cool part about this spot is that it's located in the center of design, so design is all around you and has a very cool outdoor seating area, this is very urban-trendy SF.

This is a great place to grab a quick bite. It has some amazing sandwiches. You can either get entire sandwich or you can get half sandwich and soup. They also give free bread and butter as appetizers for free .There are only few places in the area where you can dine in for under $11 and this is one of them. Definitely check it out.
Ankit — Google review
Every time I pass Caffe Pazzo, it's completely crowded. The wait is usually around 20-30 minutes. The food here is very average, but this shop gets so much traffic, it probably makes bank regardless of food quality. That being said, this place makes decent light sandwich and salads. Don't expect any heavy foods. Whatever you choose, just don't get the Ahi Tuna. The one I ordered was completely stale.
Nathan Y — Google review
Food is nothing to alter your lunch plans for. A bit over priced for what you actually get. $12-15 salads after tax is a bit much for "ok" tasting. Pretty fast ordering and to-go is a large draw to eat here.
Tiko K — Google review
Tasty lunch place around the SoMA/Potrero/Design Center area. Their salads are just the right size... Spiro's Plate and the Greek Salad are my defaults, but whenever I feel like mixing it up, their daily specials are also delicious. Sandwiches, from what I hear from our co-workers, are also really amazing. And if it's a nice, sunny, token California day in San Francisco? Grab a table outside and get some of that sunshine. So why one star short of a perfect score? The wait can be long. I suppose good food takes time, but I never understood why it would take an average of 20 minutes to order a simple soup/salad combo. The key here is order online (try to order an hour and a half prior), identify your pick-up time, and grab your lunch as scheduled. And Caffee Pazzo - please put the Kale/Quinoa salad back on the dailies? Keep up the good work otherwise.

Very nice, calm atmosphere with great seating areas inside and out. I came for the pizza, but most others came for the drinks. We got sweet Bianca, Meatzza, & the chef actually made the sweet heat pineapple first by accident, so the server offered that to us, too. Corina — Google review
As a Detroit-style pizza shop owner, I was curious and hopeful checking out this place. I left pretty disappointed. The dough was dense and underdeveloped, likely the result of a short fermentation, maybe 48 hours at most. It lacked the airy, open crumb and crisp you’d expect from a well made pie. The pizza I ordered (custom toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, olives) appeared to have been par-baked, probably as a plain cheese pie, then topped and re-baked. The result was a floppy slice with uneven heat distribution, cheese under the toppings wasn’t fully melted, and the base was soggy. The frico (crispy fried cheese) didn’t travel fully down to form a full skirt and collapsed under the weight of the bland sauce. The tomato sauce tasted like it came straight from a can with minimal cooking, bland. On the plus side, the Czech Pilsner was good. The bar area had a cool vibe, and the beer selection looked solid. The garden out back was modest but fine. Generally a good place for a beer. Maybe the garlic knots are good.

The Ferry Building, an iconic historic landmark in San Francisco, has been transformed into a bustling marketplace offering a wide array of culinary delights. Originally opened in 1898 as the city's main entry point, it underwent renovation and was reopened in 2003 as the Ferry Building Marketplace. Today, it houses numerous farmers' market stalls, artisan vendors, and independent restaurants serving diverse cuisines from around the world.
I love this building. I love looking at the clock tower. Apparently it’s based on a Renaissance tower in Sienna or one of those cities. It’s in the Beaux Arts style, like the City Hall. The building itself has pricey shops and eateries, and it’s a bit of a tourist trap, but it’s also bustling with activity. Great for street photography if you’re into that kind of thing. There’s a small plaza in front where people hangout, and it’s great for people watching. But just remember, when you’re people watching, people are watching you!

This was quite a nice section of San Fran with the Ferry Building, the Port of San Fran and the markets / food sections. There's a couple of street shops too which had some unique items which was cool. The food markets are not too bad although some were closing up at 5pm on a weekday. There is a bit of homeless action going on down there though so whilst we didn't feel unsafe or anything - it's something to be aware of especially if you are tourists. I probably wouldn't be walking around at night which is a shame as it looks like it would be beautiful then. Walking there or catching the train is quite easy. There are ferries taking you to Oakland which we didn't do but looked worthwhile (we just couldn't find a reason worth going there). We ended up walking up The Embarcadero which was really nice and easy to walk. We nearly ended up all the way back at the Fisherman's Wharf in 30 minutes or so.

It's a nice place on seashore where you can do good shopping in ferry building shops and can have some awesome snacks with coffee. Behind the ferry building, it's a very scenic place to view the cable bridge and also city's skyline. There is Mahatma Gandhi's statue also behind the ferry building. As an Indian, it was a proud moment for me to find this statue here. His message written below the statue is so much relevant in today's world of wars between the various countries. There is a good sitting area behind the ferry building.

Tartine Bakery, located in San Francisco, is a beloved spot known for its use of organic ingredients to create delectable breakfast pastries, hot pressed sandwiches, and coffee. Despite the lack of signage outside the black exterior, the long line winding out of Tartine is a clear indicator that you've found the right place. The bakery has gained widespread acclaim and has become a favorite among home bakers due to its co-founders sharing their baking secrets in popular manuals like Tartine Bread.
amazing cakes and other desert here- we tried almost everything and they all soooo good. The almond tart was incredible - lots of flavors that work together but not too sweet. Sourdough is also amazing here - got a couple of options but the buttermilk is supposed to be best and quickest sell so you have to be here early to get it Chocolate cake is all right, a bit too sweet and heavy for our liking.

Anything that we got was great. All the sandwiches have house made breads; highly recommended. Also they have great pastry and deserts and also coffee. All good. There is long waiting time and not enough seat. But you can take away and enjoy the food at Dolores park.

Tartine Bakery is a cute shop with a great vibe, perfectly situated in a lively area near Mission Dolores Park. While everything on display looked delicious, the morning bun is an absolute standout. I was honestly amazed at how good it was - incredibly fresh, soft, and flavorful in a way you wouldn't expect. A good tip is that while the seating is limited, it's generally sufficient for a cafe of its size and it wasn't overly crowded during my visit. For anyone visiting San Francisco, I would highly recommend a stop here, especially for the morning buns. It’s a genuinely delightful experience.

Fantastic pastries and great location. The almond croissant was perfect and unlike any I have had before. Not too sweet and didn’t taste of artificial almond, which is extremely rare to find. The plain croissant was luxurious and everything you want a croissant to be. The morning bun was soft and had a hint of orange, which was a nice surprise. We came in on a Thursday morning around 10:30am and seating was pretty tight, but eventually a spot opened up. Will definitely be back.

I originally wanted to go to the manufactory location but the line was insane + they sold out of the fig goat cheese caramelized onion danish I wanted to try🥲 Since it wasn’t too far I just ended up walking over instead Danish was absolutely delicious with crispy edges, soft buttery inside, and a very delicious smell+taste of eggs and cheese… the caramelized onion and fig jam also paired perfectly with the slightly-dry goat cheese, which surprisingly did not feel too goaty at all. I arrived slightly late so the danish wasn’t hot but (I think) they used heated plates so it didn’t seem cold/stale at all! The cappuccino tasted okay but the milk could definitely be better foamed. Store was quite busy but it actually wasn’t that difficult to find a seat; it was a bit more on the crowded side but since everyone was quite friendly it still made for a pleasant experience.

Must!!! Anything we tried here was delicious. We go once or twice a trip every time we are in California. Coffee is on point. Always get a loaf to go. I don’t even like sweets but the baked goods are made my angels.

Yummy almond croissant and super friendly service! Standard flat white as well. Love that they have a little area to wrap any leftovers to go, made it very convenient!

I really liked the iced vanilla latte and the morning bun. But unfortunately I have to leave a 1 star review, as the coconut tart we purchased has this cocoon like object with some sort of eggs in it? It’s such a shame as I’ve tried calling the location multiple times for a solution with no avail, but hopefully they can get it sorted out for future customers.

Pazzia Ristorante Italiano is a small, casual eatery known for its thin-crust pizza and housemade pastas. While it may not be as romantic as some other places, it offers strong food and a fun wine list. The restaurant's location allows for patio dining during the summer months, providing a lively atmosphere with street traffic and beautiful sunsets. Visitors rave about the authentic, hand-made Italian dishes that are described as mouth-watering and top-notch.
How can I describe the place with the best gnocchi (after my grandma’s gnocchi) I have ever eaten? Giulia and her brother are so kind and accommodating!! If I could give you more stars, I would!! And don’t forget: visit Nannai in Recife ♥️😊

Fantastic and cozy atmosphere with quick service and delicious food. The tiramisu was fantastic and I devoured the lasagna! We will be back.

I began with the fritto misto, there’s better in the city at a cheaper price. The margarita pizza was just a glorified cheese pizza with one leaf of basil in the center. I had to ask for more basil. I also had to ask for parm. My next curiosity is the pasta. People I dined with liked the parpadelli and the rigatoni, I don’t eat pork so that’s me passing their experience to you guys in my review. Julia and Carlos were professional and welcoming. 2nd try: the Caesar salad was over dressed and came with 4 croutons and the dressing was underwhelming with no anchovy taste, the worst Caesar salad I’ve ever had. The chicken was overcooked the broccoli was good but everything was oily. The bread was underwhelming too. I got a tiramisu on the house because of the chicken and it was good. Overpriced for what I got though.

My boyfriend and I didn’t have a reservation but decided to try our luck walking in on a busy Saturday night. The place was packed and buzzing with energy, but the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating — they made us feel welcome right away. The food was incredible. I had the wild king salmon spinach paccheri pasta, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My boyfriend got the sausage pizza — crispy, savory, and loaded with flavor. We also shared the calamari, which was light, crispy, and not at all greasy. This has quickly become one of my favorite Italian spots in the city. Great vibes, excellent service, and unforgettable food. Can’t wait to come back!

Was very impressed. Got 2 pizzas and 2 pastas. 1 special and 1 on the list. Also got a bottle wine and a couple spritzes. Overall, enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Pretty loud in there but it was packed. Had an outdoor area as well. I would go back.

This is really top-notch authentic Italian food! We had a reservation on a weeknight and were seated immediately upon arriving. Our server was great and pointed out some keynote dishes on the menu. We selected a bottle of wine (solid wine list) and got started. We tried a little of everything. For appetizers, the carpaccio was the best I've had in a long time and the meatballs were just perfect. As tender and tasty as it gets. I followed that up with a sausage pizza and loved it as well. Nice chewy Neapolitan crust with a fine patina. For desert I had to have the tiramisu. I'm sure I've never had better! Seems like it's been a long time since I had an Italian meal that brought it all together so well. Can't wait to come again! Olympic Otter

Italian restaurant
Pizzeria Delfina in the Mission District of San Francisco is a laid-back urban pizzeria with outdoor seating and a selection of Italian wines. Established in 1998, it has played a significant role in shaping the Bay Area's Cal-Italian cuisine scene. The restaurant recently underwent an ambitious remodel, adding a visually appealing wood bar and gold-plated accents while maintaining its captivating food offerings, including popular dishes like their signature spaghetti.
Nice ambience, solid friendly service. I'd come here again. Good for a date night. Extensive wine list, would order the margarita pie next time. Skip the castelvetrano olives, nothing special. Chicken liver crostini was solid, good ratio of liver to toast, and the little radish and olive on the plate was nice. You do taste the liver though, don't get me wrong. Gnocchi with nettle pesto was very good, nice texture on the gnocchi, not too firm or bouncy. Pesto and fonduta were rich, the chanterelles adds needed textural and flavor contrast. Pizza with fungi was solid but I'd recommend the margherita next time for more contrast with the acid of the tomatoes. The crust is really good here, nice chew, solid base with a little droop. The fungi pizza was just a little one note with the richness from the cheese and a little savoriness from the mushrooms, missing some acid for freshness for balance. Market price on the 1lbs roasted snapper (other option was sea bream) was $42. Nice firm flesh and they remove the central bone in advance. The preserved Meyer lemon on the side was only ok, the parsley sauce was better, the grilled scallions quite good. We picked the cabbage with bagna cauda for our side - great execution/char on the cabbage, the sauce was savory without tasting fishy at all with some crouton/crispy breadcrumbs for contrast. Highly recommend the cabbage. Buttermilk panna cotta nailed the texture but my table mates commented that it just felt like Greek yogurt given the tang and that's fair. It's hard to get the passion fruit on the spoon so it's a bit of a waste. For the brown butter gelato and blood orange sorbet to, the gelato was better imo, more depth of flavor, quite dense, but it overall tasted more milky like a fior di latte with just a touch of nutty brown butter at the end. I wonder if they add more milk solids to the butter to bump that up. Blood orange could have been more orange-y, get some oil extraction of the peels or something.

Cannot comment on atmosphere as we did takeout. The pizza tasted really nice and flavourful however I think the crust became stale in the delivery process. Not the restaurants fault I like to go and eat in the restaurant next time!

The owners and managenent of the restaurant have compromised on their honesty. They deceptively advertise their menu price by adding a restaurant set fee (not tax or mandate) no different than ticketmaster's fees of old. Instead of being transparent in their pricing they choose to mislead customers by 7%. Should they ever consider being honest I may consider returning
Eitan A — Google review
They added some type of meat other than the anchovies in my pizza without specifying it on their menu and I accidentally bit into it! The pizza also came in burnt and tasted very acidic. Would not recommend at all!
Bisrat — Google review
Delfina was absolutely divine! I had the Pappardelle & Duck Sugo (orange gremolata), and tried the Ricotta Cavatelli (lamb meatballs, dandelion greens) and literally did a little dance of joy when I tasted each. I could happily eat either dish for the rest of my life! We also shared Pane a Pala with Delfina ricotta and dried tomatoes; Warm Castelvetrano Olives. For dessert Affogato Corretto (fior di latte gelato, moka pot espresso, Margerum amaro, almond cantucci) and Cocoa Nib Pavlova (caramel gelato, warm chocolate sauce, hazelnuts). Every single dish that touched my lips was such an enjoyable experience. The staff was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing, and there was a line down tge sidewalk waiting for the restaurant to open even though we all seemed to have reservations. This is absolutely a restaurant that needs to be on your bucket list if you're a foodie! Thank you for the joyful experience, and I hope I get to come back in the future! If not, feel free to branch out to Bowling Green, KY!

Limited menu but very delicious thin crust pizzeria. Ingredients seemed / tasted high quality. Service was Ok but there were only two of them and it was quite busy. It was my first time so I can't say I've tasted a decent portion of the menu. That being said, the meatball dish and all the pizzas we're good. They have a gluten free option for the pie crusts.

Sept 27 DoorDash delivery. Tagliatelle al Ragù Nostrano Sparse amount of pasta, with little sauce and about two tablespoons of meat! It looked like someone's leftovers! $34.50. The Saffron Arancini was very good, but it did not include any dipping sauce.

Consistently good over the last 15 years or so. Definitely up there as one of the best places to get Italian style pizza in SF. The billing is a bit shady, especially if you are not a local, and they really should add the worker tax into the cost so people are not surprised by it. Until they do this, they will continue to have upset customers and bad reviews.

Liguria Bakery, located in San Francisco's North Beach, is a classic Italian bakery that has been around since 1911. This third-generation family business specializes in producing delectable focaccia bread in 10 different flavors, ranging from classic plain to jalapeno cheese. The bakery is known for its no-frills atmosphere and rich history, making it a must-visit spot in the city's Little Italy.
Went here on a Wednesday morning 20 minutes after opening. Wasn't busy and no lines. Parking wasn't too difficult to find. Loved the old school, no-frill vibes of the shop. They sold merchandise, olive oil, cans of tomato sauce, their own dough on the counter. I ordered a pizza focaccia and for the size you get it's absolutely worth it. The dough itself is very soft, fluffy and bready while the ingredients didn't exactly have a pizza flavor, but it was still delicious. I lightly toasted it a few days afterwards and I loved how it came out. Overall, a staple in the neighborhood for a reason. Homemade goodness. Good customer service. Highly recommend going.

Love the variety of foccacia flavours. Decided to go with their popular pizza flavour. The foccacia was soft, pillowy with a nice chewy texture to it. The staff offered to cut it into slices so that we could eat it on the go. It was delicious but unfortunately cold so I didn't enjoy it as much as I had expected to. Wished that it was served hot.
Jessica C — Google review
First time here. Ordered the pizza focaccia and the rosemary garlic focaccia. You can taste the aroma of the tomato sauce and the light texture of the bread. The sauce didn't make the bread soggy as I was thinking it would. The garlic/rosemary was my favorite of the two. For you garlic and rosemary lover, this is the one you must try. Fresh garlic taste with the awesome smell of the rosemary. This would go great with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. You need to go early before they get sold-out. I will be back for other selections.

Got me some a few months ago. This is clearly the best focaccia I’ve ever had. The hype is real. I tried plan, onion and pizza. All chopped into bags for me. All just amazing, maybe even addictive.

Hands down the best focaccia in the SF Bay Area. The pizza and raisin are my favorite. I've been coming here since the early 80s. You need to get here early because once they are sold out. They will closeshop.

Walking through the Italian district, we came across this shop, and I was so excited to try it since I was born and raised in Liguria but haven’t been home in almost a year. We ordered one classic plain focaccia and one pizza. The focaccia was okay—nothing special, a bit chewy—but the pizza was terrible😞 I really wanted to give this place 5 stars to support fellow Ligurians who came here to open something so unique, but the pizza was so salty it was impossible to eat. Just a few bites gave me heartburn because the tomato sauce was very acidic. What a shame.
Gloria L — Google review
We’d been a fan of this bakery but recently bought some focaccia (rosemary) and find them very salty. They’re inedible. In the past even before this incident, I had inquired if we could get focaccia with less salt, the answer was no. I don’t think we would go back for focaccia after this time.
Amit V — Google review
I can give this place 10 stars! Best focaccia in town. I went around 9:30 in the morning and they only had 3 flavors left! Tried jalapeño cheddar which was delicious and soft as a cloud! It’s huge and totally worthy for $8. Also they accept both card and cash.

Located in Hayes Valley, a Mano is a popular spot known for its housemade pasta and Italian wine. The restaurant offers a spacious environment where guests can enjoy the handmade pasta, rich sauces, and hearty ragus that are prepared fresh daily. In addition to the pasta, there are tasty antipasti options and inventive seasonal salads. Whether dining in the eatery's parklet on Hayes Street or inside watching the kitchen at work, guests can indulge in delicious Italian cuisine.
I enjoyed dinner here. Great atmosphere and food. Pasta was better than I remembered and the waitstaff was so nice. Attentive but not overbearing. You can really tell taste of fresh house made pasta. I used to like SPQR and I love Delfina but I liked A Mano more.

Highly recommend. Was a great neighborhood, the restaurant was warm and inviting. We had a corporate team dinner and everything was delicious from the wine to the appetizers (the ricotta meatballs were a hot!) to the entrees. My favorite was the Brentwood corn ravioli. Will definitely be returning.

Very good Italian food served here. We ordered arancini to start, with three pastas: vongole, rigatoni, and bucatini. All of them were good, especially vongole, but I think the bucatini was too al dente for my taste. We also ordered a margherita pizza, which I really liked for its thin dough. The portion was more than enough for a party of five.

Here’s a 600-character English review for the popular Italian restaurant you visited: ⸻ This place is buzzing—and for good reason. The handmade pasta is next-level, prepared right in front of you with care and skill. Every dish was delicious, from the crispy arancini to the fresh clam pasta and seasonal pizza. The outdoor seating is a dream, spilling out onto the sidewalk with a laid-back, European vibe. We were lucky to visit on a sunny day, which made the whole experience even better. Great food, great vibe, and the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal under the sky.

This Hayes Valley restaurant has a cozy, casual vine with a crowd of mixed professionals. Food was pretty good for the most part — the short rib ragu was excellent, though the summer squash pizza was honestly a bit of a letdown. It didn’t have much flavor (even with the added egg) and got a bit over-clogged with ricotta. A Mano really hit a home run with their cocktails — both the Capitale and Bombo Miele brought a lot of sweet flavor (perfect for a summer night). Unfortunately, the service was a bit spotty, though I totally get that sometimes nights just go a little off-kilter. The restaurant wasn’t full, but we still struggled to get our waiter’s attention to put in orders and had our cocktails arrive halfway through appetizers (usually they come first). The waiter ended up spilling some red sauce on my leg while clearing the plates, and it took a few attempts to grab the check at the end of the night. Nothing egregious, but do feel like it could’ve been a bit of a smoother experience.
Matty E — Google review
Really wanted to like this place. The ambiance is lovely, location wonderful. But the food is like microwaved garbage. The Ragu was greasey and flavorless, the canneloni was inedible, oddly crispy, overly salty, and bitter. Arancini tasted like fish (?). I've had better meals on airlines. And when we mentioned how underwhelming the food was to the waiter he stared at us blankly and handed us the check. You'd think in that scenario they'd comp us at least one of the dishes or something, offer some sort of apology, or to make something else. Nothing. If you're looking for a nice place to catch up with a friend over a drink, great. But 0/10 on any food item.
Clara S — Google review
As appetizers, we liked the cauliflower and the Tuscan kale salad. For the main course, I enjoyed the cannelloni. I tried my friends' mains, rigatoni and tagliatelle alla bolognese and they were tasty. All of us had a different glass of red wine, Montepulciano, Nero d'Avola Tenute, and Super Tuscan. All were reported to be tasty. Service at a Mano was attentive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was bright and cheery. The noise level was acceptable for conversation.

Goat Hill Pizza is a classic San Francisco pizzeria that offers a unique twist with its sourdough-crusted pies. Despite being a neighborhood spot, it's highly recommended for its exceptional crust and variety of flavors. The all-you-can-eat Monday night event allows patrons to sample different pizzas, with the goat cheese, green pepper, and mushroom pizza standing out as superb. The medium-sized pizzas come with a wide range of toppings but are relatively pricey.
Utterly fantastic little hidden gem of a pizzeria. The staff is beyond friendly and genuinely love their pizza and their customers. The pizza itself is out of this world and I tried the buffet which gives you access to one hot slice after another. This is a must do Monday only tradition. The crust is a perfectly crisp sourdough and toppings and all ingredients are of the highest quality. Why are you even reading this! Go out and eat here now! Parking is very easy. Especially for SF. Safe neighborhood.

This is one of those places that I consider old school San Francisco, a neighborhood gem and one I wish will never go away and stay just the way it is. I've been going to this place since the early 80's, in my college years, through working various jobs in the city and living in different neighborhoods, and now into the latter years. Its food is good in all regards, a reliable standard, the staff friendly and the facility remains in good order after all these years. So perhaps it isn't just the food, the staff and the restaurant, but in the aspect that it also holds a lot of good memories from the past with old friends and previous dates, it's precious in that way for me. Keep on rockin' Goat Hill Pizza, they don't make restaurants like you anymore.

Mid sized pizza place, very well located and easy to find. Inside and outside seating with space heaters are options. Could become full and thus reservations recommend. Not a huge variety of pizza on offer but that’s a good thing since they focus on what they are good at. Ordered 2 pizzas-tomato based and white sauce based- both were good. Great local spot. Great decor with a huge DG patio, colorful furniture and succulents. People just out in the sun vibing with music. The service was great, staff seemed very happy to help and have great recommendations. Although I felt they were understaffed when I was there on a Saturday lunch time. The wait time was bad... Almost half an hour for my panini sandwich with only 3 or 4 tables filled. C'mon I mean. But the panini was the best I ever had. I got the turkey chipotle. It was a much more fresh and clean palette than the typical greasy paninis you get around here. The aioli was hitting just the right punch. All ingredients contributed. The bread was light and crunchy. I would definitely visit again for their other offerings.

A real gem for foodies. You can tell the quality of a place by how generous they are with ingredients like cheese and bacon in their servings- they do it right. Delicious, you can taste the freshness (and smell it too)! Atmosphere is fun and clean. The patio is so open and spacious, and there is a clean restroom at the back. I had a panini for lunch and loved it. The portion was average but the taste was excellent, super crunchy crust, fresh ingredients and well balanced flavors.

These people are amazing!!!! Left my wallet here two days ago and they not only kept it for me but tracked me down on the internet to find me and tell me they had it!!!! Additionally, the food and service is beyond amazing. Waiting for my second pizza from here with great anticipation!!! Also, thank you Kristen for going above and beyond. Please make it a point to come and support these fantastic people if you are in the hood!

Pizza Squared is a unique pizzeria in San Francisco that specializes in Sicilian pizza while also offering Detroit-style pies. Located in SoMa, this spot serves up fresh and crispy slices, although some may be insufficiently warmed through. The pizzas here are known for their heavy cheese toppings, which can weigh down the already substantial slices.
Excellent little shop serving up delicious Detroit style pizza! Opened in 2019, this quick and convenient venue is one of the best spots for a fulfilling weekday lunch. The portions are generous for the price. Menu is diverse with some asian influence to it, but most importantly the pizza pies are scrumptious. 5/5

September 2022: It's been a few years and I thought I'd update my review. I ordered a few pizzas and salads. I still love 💓😘 the Detroit style pizza here. The crust has a lot of cheesey goodness! We tried the pesto mushroom, the supreme, the kimchi bulgogi and the sausage mushroom. I really like the way the salads are packaged in reusable jars. Tried the kale Caesar and the Chinese chicken salad. Both were great and a big hit with everyone. 2019: Wow. 🍕 is fantastic! Tried the Korean meatball pizza and the Detroit pepperoni pizza. Especially loved the Detroit style pizza. 😀 Had one of the arugula salads which was hearty. Can't wait to come back again and taste the other options!

Pretty solid pizza but not worth $6 a slice in my opinion. All of the slices had the texture of crispy garlic bread which was unique but personally not my favorite. We tried the pepperoni, chicken curry, and cheese slices and our favorite was the chicken curry (mostly because of the novelty). The pepperoni was pretty good too with crispy edges but would not recommend the cheese slice. Overall it is a very convenient, quick stop but I wouldn’t come back.

We were initially excited a pizza place opened nearby but these decently sized thick, fluffy, and crispy pieces of bread lack the sauce and cheese to be what I would call pizza. The taste is average; the cheese is disappointing; the flavors are lacking. In the Detroit style caramelized onion with gruyere only one bite could I taste even a hint of gruyere. The onions were tasty and owned the show. The sauce and cheese was lackluster. The Sicilian style Korean meatball again lacked complexity. If you like your ratio of bread:sauce:cheese to be a 5:1:1(maybe 2) this is the place. I am a bit biased and like a bit more sauce and A LOT more cheese. When I go out to eat pizza I want to leave feeling satisfied with my choice even though I know my stomach may not appreciate all the gluten later... with Pizza Squared I left wishing I hadn’t eaten it in the first place. But, at least we tried and now we know.

Alright. Now that I have tried all relevant Detroit Pizza in San Francisco which means I only excluded two places that look like they aren't actually Detroit Pizza/ possibly some kind of cover up for something (8 Mile Pi, Mio Motto) which means I tried all of them. All the Detroit you can possibly try in San Francisco and this is good stuff for sure. But here's the thing, as good as it is - it is the only one that doesn't have super distinct characteristics about it like everyone else's Detroit Style. This is a good thing depending on how you look at it. I think this is almost as good as Sunset Squaredsbut I prefer Sunset Squares because they use San Francisco Sourdough whereas Pizza Squared is kind of the only Detroit Style Pizza in San Francisco that explains Detroit Style in a neutral way. That is what I can say for Pizza Squared, it is entry level or because you try them all is why you try this. Or you just don't want "dank" Detroit Style which I can see someone out there maybe wants however the whole point of Detroit Style Pizza is to eat something "drank". I would say do not hesitate to try them but they are Mid objectively after trying all the Detroit Style Pizza in San Francisco.

Great local pizza spot. We are spoiled in this city with lots of new additions in the Detroit pizza game. Pizza Squared always hits the spot for me. They are also one of the few that offer Detroit by the slice. Make sure to add their home made ranch. Owner is frequently there and extremely nice.

Ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it was terrible… I’ve purchased slices here many times, they were good. However this time that I received this Hawaiian pizza was a no go. The bottoms were not cooked throughly or crunchy. The toppings were so obviously canned pineapple, it would be more convincing if they even chopped it up, like come on. Sliced Chilis were also dried and chewy. Cheese wasn’t even melted so it was a block of white fat on top. Although I ate it pretty much after we picked it up, tasted like cold pizza. Especially because this is Detroit style, it’s thick and when not done right just tastes like thick bread. Don’t think I’ll be eating from here again, it’s hard to mess up pizza.

I ordered Mushroom Pesto flavor, it’s pretty good taste, include tax cost me $6.52, although a little bit expensive, l like it, I would like to try other flavors next time.

Italian restaurant
Che Fico Alimentari is a casual wine bar located in the NoPa neighborhood, serving as an offshoot of the main Che Fico restaurant. The rustic bar offers a focused charcuterie menu and various Italian dishes to accompany its extensive Italian wine list. In addition to offering delicious food, the establishment has also partnered with investors and supporters to provide over 250 dinners every night for those who are struggling financially.
Made reservations for brunch days ahead. Arrived a few minutes early and was seated immediately. The bathroom was nice and clean. The host was welcoming. The person who seated my party was communicative. Megan, the waitress, was very intuitive. I love how Megan inquired about dietary restrictions before the order was placed. Megan was able to highlight each section of the menu, clearly and succinctly. Tried the Prima Felicita, melon mimosa (the daily acqua fresca), TOAST FRANCESE, Bistecca E Uova, and blueberry focaccia. Everything thing was FULFILLING! love how the Toast Francese (French toast) was a hybrid of french toast and bread pudding; it had a light custard feel to it yet still flaky. The food was served at a reasonable time. Had the opportunity of speaking with the manager, Jennifer. The entire staff was very engaging and delightful. I like how the staff collaborated seamlessly with each other. Excellent first impression. The manager even gave my party a Brutti Ma Buoni to go and it was delicious. Excited to try the dinner menu next time. The ambiance was brunch approiate and fitting for an Italian restaurant. It was an enjoyable experience from start to finish. No hiccups or issues.

Loved the service. Food was delicious, well made and nicely flavoured. The aglio e olio was a little too lemony for our taste (but nice nonetheless), the margarita pizza was perfect. Would definitely recommend the focaccia bread.

Great spot for a dinner date! The cacio e pepe was alright, just a bit too much pepper for my liking. However, the Salsiccia pizza was the best part. Our waitress was so sweet as well. Would recommend if you’re in the area!

Visited this place twice, seated outdoor (both Saturdays) in less than 6 months. Food is great especially their sides and pasta. On the second visit, the eggplant parm was salty. Tiramisu is exceptional and something I always have to make room for. 90 minute dining limit. Service is attentive especially when they are not as busy. Gets really busy at around 8pm. That’s when they will remind you of your dining limit. Prefer outdoor seating as its less noisy and crowded than indoor. Parking in the neighborhood is tough especially on weekends. 20% not gratuity added to the bill. All boils down to dining here is pricey and maybe not worth it.
C W — Google review
Excellent food, but very slow to come out. At one point they brought the wrong dish and when they brought the corrected dish, it took them probably 45 minutes. The server was very nice. I thought the prices were extremely high, and I was surprised at the 10% charge that's automatically added to your bill for dining in. It's explained on the menu that it's not a tip, but it just seems unreasonable to do that. Dinner with one drink per person for four people with tax and tip came out to about $400.

Good Italian fare on Divisadero. The pizza delivered greatly. Cooked well with primo toppings. They even pass the next day cold pizza test. The pasta dishes were ok at best, nothing to write home about. The appetizers didn’t really resonate at all. The desserts were beautifully handled. Very delicious. They have great wine options so that’s another plus. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere, it’s just the food couldn’t completely cross the finish line.
Mario C — Google review
Converted auto body shop turned into one of the hottest ticket in town. Hip, airy, buzzing, urban vibe with great views over Divisadero. Able to get seats right away at 6pm on Friday at the bar. Had to wait a bit for drinks and food but everything was good if not mind-blowing. Bartender wisely suggested half orders of pasta when we (2 of us) tried to order salad, 2 pastas AND pizza 🐷 Pizza thicker/more doughy and a lot smaller than Ragazza/Gialina. So maybe not the best value but overall fun (but pricey) experience.
Carolyn F — Google review
the pizza and ragu are exceptional, was fun to sit outside with friends and be a little louder lol. there’s a great wine shop just up the block on divis, stop by and grab a couple bottles for dinner
