Chicken wings restaurant
Fried chicken takeaway
Hot Sauce and Panko To Go is a small but popular spot in San Francisco, known for its Korean-American comfort food and an impressive selection of over 300 hot sauce varieties. Located in Nob Hill, this hole-in-the-wall gem offers delicious waffle sandwiches and perfectly fried chicken wings with a variety of flavor options to choose from. The outpost also caters to lovers of Korean BBQ chicken wings in the Inner Richmond district.
Overall, the wings at Hot Sauce and Panko are very solid. The flavors are great, but I’d personally prefer them a bit hotter. The beer was definitely my favorite—smooth and refreshing. I also tried the Korean and Al Pastor flavors. The Korean was flavorful, but the Al Pastor didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Still, the wings themselves were crispy and juicy, and I’d definitely recommend them!

This is a great hole in the wall to go eatery. Placed an order online during lunch and it was ready when I got there. There is only a door for pickup and no inside seating. Waffles were made fresh and as you see they give you butter and enough syrup for it. Waffles were buttery and flavorful. The wings were a perfect match. Chris’s salty and sweet wings had me wanting more. Make sure to call or order online first or you will most likely be waiting in line to order.
Troff — Google review
Hot Sauce & Panko is definitely top 5 wings in the city. From the size of the wings to the crispiness and flavor options you can’t go wrong here. Bourbon bacon wrapped is my go to always and now they have a hot version and a plain Jane bacon wrapped. This time around I also went with the waffle & wings combo. Tried the Al pastor and they were awesomeness. The last flavor which was basic but still perfection were the Salt and pepper wings. 15 premium wings and a waffle you can’t beat it. Have patience or go to wingstop!
Keena M — Google review
I've walked past this neighborhood place dozens of times. There's always somebody waiting for their order at the window. It was time I tried it. No place to sit down, just pick up your order and go. About a 10 minute wait hanging out on the corner. I ordered the panko fried Chicken Sandwich with cucumber wasabi sauce. Very good. Next time I'll order a sauce with a little more spice.
Mike W — Google review
Easy online ordering, crispy crunchy delicious wings, fun flavors and affordable. Satay is BOMB. I would skip Chris’s and get more Lemon Pepper. Jerk wasn’t my fav, it was a bit too Christmas tasting for me and no heat. Slaw was really sweet if you like that… Want to perfect my order and make my way through all the flavors 😊
Camila R — Google review
fish + chips, tenders + fries, lemon pepper, and korean wings were all FANTASTIC. 10/10 5 stars. everything was cooked so well, hot, fresh, and flavorful. hands down the best wings and tenders in SF.
Amy W — Google review
I love a no frills all attention on the food type of spot and thats exactly what I found at Hot Sauce and Panko while traveling through SF. The chicken wings were crispy + delicious and the waffle was buttery + fluffy. The next time I'm in the area I'd easily go out of my way to grab a bite there again.
Curtis S — Google review
Food here is always fresh and seasoned perfectly. The sauces hit different and I feel like these are the best wings in the city. Everything has so much flavor and it doesn’t taste artificial either. Prices are good for wings. Definitely recommend. Parking is a bit hard to find. Fish and chips are surprisingly good and cheap. Lemon pepper and mango Hab are my favorite.

Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
San Tung is a popular Chinese restaurant located in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. It is renowned for its delicious dry fried chicken wings, which have gained a cult following and are a must-try for visitors. The no-frills setting adds to the authentic dining experience. In addition to the famous chicken wings, San Tung offers a variety of traditional Chinese dishes such as Vegetarian Egg Rolls, Sizzling Rice Soup, Black Bean Sauce Noodles, and more.
We came here on a weekend afternoon. The line was super long and we waited about an hour before getting in. The servers were very nice and fast. We had to sit on a big table with someone else, but that wasn’t an issue. They were able to recognize the dishes even though we sat together. The interior looks like a typical old Chinese restaurant, but you can tell that it was cleaned and taken care of. The food was served very fast and fresh. It’s crispy and just seasoned correctly and authentic. The price is so cheap considering the inflation. It’s popular for a reason. We ended up taking out a lot because we ordered too much. The portion was so big.
Hilda L — Google review
I visited San Tung on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 PM, and the place was packed. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. The atmosphere inside was lively and a bit loud, but judging by the crowd both waiting outside and dining in, it's clear the food is well-loved. We ordered the original dry fried chicken wings, which were delicious. They were perfectly crispy with a sweet and spicy flavor. I noticed that when you take them to go and reheat them, the spice comes through even more. We also tried the dry black bean sauce noodles, and they really stood out. The flavor was bold and intense in the best way, and the dish was loaded with seafood like shrimp, calamari, and scallops. I really liked it. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth the wait.
Anirud P — Google review
My group arrived there around 5pm and it was packed. However, the wait wasn’t too bad and we ended up waiting about 15 minutes. Service was fast and efficient. There was a total of 3 people including myself in the group and we ordered the string beans, Mongolian beef, black bean noodles, and chicken wings. My boyfriend was going to order more, but the server stopped him to say that the items we ordered was enough! Thankfully, we listened to him and stopped ordering because we had leftovers after! Food came out quickly. This spot is a must try!!! The chicken wings had a perfect texture; crispy and airy on the outside, and warm and soft on the inside. The sauce on those wings are chef’s kiss! The black bean noodles had a bit of beef, shrimp, and squid in it. The string beans and Mongolian beef were also very tasty. I will definitely be coming back for more!
Amy — Google review
We got takeout to eat outside in the nice weather right before they ended their lunch shift. The wings are as good as everyone says they are. Crispy and flavorful sauce. The black bean noodles are packed with seafood and meat. The hot and sour soup is perfectly balanced and peppery with lots of high quality ingredients. Overall very impressed with their execution of chinese American classics, the flavors are top notch.
Amanda B — Google review
Best chicken wings in town! Super recommend their string beans and sour soup as well. They get busy, don't take reservations and wait times can be pretty long. Best time to check it out is weekday lunch time. Usually no wait. Even with the wait, highly recommend them. Although they have improved a lot in the past few years, just don't expect much in terms of service. Flag a server when they are passing by and make your request.
Wolf F — Google review
Once you get seated the service is pretty fast. It carries the usual Chinese food with some Korean flavors. Good sized servings.
Sherry A — Google review
Yummmm.....mee. The chicken was everything that is raved about. It was sticky, sweet, and Spicey. It was on every table in the restaurant. My favorite dish was, however, the eggplant with a tasty sauce. We got there fairly early at 4:30 on a Monday. By the time we left there was a line.
Gena S — Google review
Delicious food. Had some really cool Korean-Chinese and northern Chinese dishes that aren't the easiest to find in the Bay Area. Really saucy noodle dishes with a delectable mix of flavors that weren't too bold, but still very fulfilling. Went on a Sunday afternoon around 4-5 PM. Very busy. Service was mediocre and it seemed like they were tryna rush us, but I guess it makes sense given they had a massive wait as usual.

Whether you're craving a small snack or planning a feast with friends, you can choose from various portion sizes—ranging from 6 to 50 wings—to satisfy your appetite.
delicious, juicy fresh. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I was visiting SA and wished we had it in NY. 100% recommend the place.
Mehreen I — Google review
Great place to grab quick and delicious Halal burgers with juicy wings. The portion size of their meals and their French fries are phenomenal. ❤️ Had a small issue with my beef mushroom burger and got it replaced with a new one in 5 minutes. Awesome customer service 👏 Would definitely visit this place again soon.
Sualeh A — Google review
This is a fried chicken shop that is definitely enough to conquer tourists. Their chicken wings (boneless) are really juicy and paired with their sauce, it is simply delicious. Their burgers are just as juicy. (I never thought there would be such a fried chicken shop on a street full of homeless people.)
Muji F — Google review
Very very tasty. Original spicy actually had some kick to it? Bit pricey in the area but worth it
Luke G — Google review
The wings here are so good! The burger is solid, but we definitely would come back for the wings and try more flavors. All halal.
Harris — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant today as a DoorDash dasher. I had to wait more than 20 minutes past the pickup time, and even then, the order was not given to me. On top of that, the employee behaved very rudely and spoke to me in an unprofessional manner. If this review reaches the restaurant manager, I kindly request you to train your staff on how to communicate respectfully with customers and dashers. Please ensure that employees understand professionalism before allowing them to represent your restaurant👎👎👎👎👎👎

Go here just for the amazing halal burgers. Service is as can be expected in a small sit in. The burgers are worth ignoring the atmosphere. It is neat clean and hygienic no doubt. Just not a dine in kinda restaurant. I go often just for the way out delicious burgers

Chicken wings restaurant
D&N Hot Wings, located in SoMa, is a haven for buffalo wing enthusiasts. The "Hot Mama" wings are coated in a vibrant orange buffalo sauce that signals their fiery heat. Customers praise the delicious food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. The lunch specials are particularly popular. In addition to the flavorful wings and fries, the menu also offers seasoned fries and cauliflower bites as a vegetarian option.
Last second meal decision and was not disappointed! Super fresh wings the lemon pepper was 🔥 and the other garlic one was very tasty too. Surprised at their ranch with dill not of fan of dill but I like it! Service was super friendly too. I'll definitely be back if I'm craving wings! Gotta try all the other sauces!
Raul P — Google review
D&N Hot Wings in San Francisco offers crispy, flavorful gluten- and dairy-free wings with bold sauces that pack a punch. A casual spot with standout buffalo wings and a welcoming vibe, it’s a must-try for spice lovers.
VFS — Google review
Went here for the first time today and honestly probably the best wings in SF. Really great flavors on the sauces and though it is a bit pricey, super high quality. Will definitely return and try more of the flavors and other items on the menu. Mango Habanero was probably my favorite
Sid S — Google review
owner was fantastic, went for the first time and love the quality and the service. You can tell there’s a lot of pride and care put into the recipes. Definitely thrilled to support a local shop that is excellent at what they do. The ghost pepper flavours are insane haha. I loved the lemon pepper dry rub !!! great batter to actual chicken ratio … you are actually getting good protein macros :)
Evelisa N — Google review
First of all, my lady & I were walking from the location we were staying just exploring the area real quick to find food & smelled something super sweet so we assumed it was one of the bakeries/coffee shops prepping for the morning maybe or something we didn’t see/know about… we walked up to D&N & realized it was the WING SPOT smelling like that??!?!!?! Had to walk in & check it out 100% & as we were looking at the menu and reading the awesome array of wing flavors, Daniel who we found out was the owner & creator of the place, greeted us at the register very politely! Let us try a few sauces and had good conversation. The sweet smell over half a block away was a fresh batch of homemade BBQ sauce just taking over the streets!!!! Nonetheless we decided to go with 6 BBQ wings and cauliflower bites to give the place a try. Being from Kansas City I’m HUGE on BBQ sauce & wings/meats… and his created BBQ sauce was absolutely fire!! Super good for a Pennsylvanian out in San Francisco, lol. Twice fried HUGE wings in rice flour.. all gluten & dairy free.. were cooked to a perfection!!! I’m legitimately surprised and super happy we smelled that sweet aroma because that place is a 10/10!!!! We’ll get another round before we leave town this weekend, that’s guaranteed!!!
Local L — Google review
The location was easy to access, the store was very clean, and the owner was super friendly. I had the food to-go and carried it around for a while, so it wasn’t really in photo-ready condition by the time I ate it—but the garlic chicken wings were absolutely delicious!
Jay U — Google review
Outstanding wing spot. The best I've had in San Francisco for sure. Have had garlic, buffalo, BBQ so far and all fantastic. Wings are large, meaty, and moist, but very juicy and perfectly coated. For takeout, they leave a slight airhole in the box so the wings stay crisp - super clever. Service is fast and friendly. Very clean and centrally located. Is turning into a go to spot for sure. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Michael H — Google review
Hands down some of the best wings I’ve had in a long time—easily the top spot for wings in San Francisco. They’re perfectly crispy without ever being burnt, and every sauce I’ve tried has been a hit. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them. My only gripe? The lunch portion could use a few more wings—or at least offer the option to swap the fries for extra wings. Also, the ranch is on the salty side, but still tasty enough to keep dipping. Overall, a must-visit for any wing lover.

For just $6, you can enjoy five wings coated in a variety of sauces such as honey-mustard, BBQ, herb, and Buffalo. The crowd favorite is the sweet-and-spicy Angry Korean flavor, which features Korean chile paste.
I just placed an order for the first time tonight. Unfortunately, the driver cancelled my Postmates order after I placed it. It was so kind of the restaurant to notice my inconvenience when I placed my order again. They were so sweet to add additional wings to my meal for my trouble. Amazing wings and great customer service! I highly recommend!

Sports bar
The Kezar Pub is a popular sports bar located across from Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. With 20 TVs, it's the perfect spot to catch a wide variety of games, including Aussie Rules football, Formula 1, FIFA, and UFC. The pub offers a full bar and a menu featuring classic pub fare like chicken wings and nachos. Visitors can immerse themselves in local culture through the decor and food offerings.
In my 35 years of dining and bar experiences, I’ve rarely encountered a bartender as outstanding as Marhade at Kazer in San Francisco. From the moment I arrived, her warm and affable nature made me feel right at home. She was incredibly attentive, always one step ahead, and—most impressively—seemed to know exactly what I wanted to drink before I even said a word. Her recommendations were perfect, turning a simple night out into something truly memorable. Marhade’s charm and professionalism shine through in every interaction, elevating the entire experience at Kazer. The bar itself has a great vibe, but it’s her exceptional service that makes it stand out. She’s clearly passionate about what she does, and it shows. I’m already telling all my friends about this place, and I can’t wait to return on my next trip to San Francisco. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by Kazer and see Marhade in action—you won’t regret it. Thank you, Marhade, for making my evening unforgettable!
Nick T — Google review
Perfect place for a first meet up between me and a professor who has become a friend; it was a summit , more than a mere get together, for a long , friendly , wide ranging conversation over the 808 beer and a delicious and generous serving of nachos. I shall come here Cricket matches too! I loved the warm and solicitous service from the friendly server.
Krishin A — Google review
The atmosphere and vibes were good for a sports pub. Food and service were abysmal. We ordered the Kezar Burger and Chicken strips. Burger was mid, not great, but not terrible either. The chicken strips were paper-thin and 90% grease and batter. We asked the waitress if we could switch out the chicken strips for something else on the menu that was cheaper and they refused. They also refused to bring another order or provide a refund stating they couldn't do anything because we "already paid for it". $13 for paper-thin chicken full of batter is crazy. It's fine and understandable that the food will not always be great but the service was very poor and disappointing. The atmosphere for a sports bar is nice, but definitely will not be returning and don't recommend (especially if you're hungry and hoping to eat proper food).
Tenjing — Google review
Great sports pub with lots of seating, many TVs with sound, and a long menu with a wide variety of pub food options. Two rooms - a front room with more of a bar feel and a back room with lots of larger tables. The separation helps when there are two big games on the same night.
Laura — Google review
Great fish and chips! Many tvs for games.
Jer E — Google review
Awful experience. Came in to watch Texas Tech game. Sat for 30 minutes trying to flag waitresses down and was flat out ignored. Once we were able to get someone’s attention when we asked for Texas tech game to be turned back on (it was turned off shortly after arriving for a UFC match) I was told she didn’t know how and that I needed to ask a bartender. Bartender was able to help us turn it on - 15 minutes later it was turned off again for the U Miami v Florida state game that was already on 6 other TVs in the back room. Actually insane. The table next to us had similar complaints about lack of service. Friends and I have had several poor experiences here in different forms. None of us will be back in the near future.
Payton — Google review
I love that kids can go here. It’s a fun pub where you can watch sports with your friends, just drink and hang out, or go with your family and eat dinner all in one place. Only problem is it’s a tad loud
Chill G — Google review
We went there days in a row since we were staying at the hotel two doors down. The many waitstaff we had all provided friendly, good service. . Actually, we woke to singing from the pub on Sunday morning. They were showing the Irish Gaelic Football Championships and the lads were well into it. The place was packed, white an exciting vibe. The other days were more sedate, but this is a sports pub so fans can be expected. . The first day I had the gourmet burger, which was huge. The pub fries were exceptional. The next day we split shepherd pie and Gangnam wings; we liked them both. The third day I had Buffalo wings with the big basket of tots. I'd Jones'd for tots since I first saw them on the menu, and they didn't disappoint. . For drinks, we'd had various beers and many Jameson & Gingers. The last batch of J-Mos seemed to be made with Sprite rather than Ginger Ale, but we certainly stiff enough. . When back in the area, we'll frequent The Kezar Pub again. Good times.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious slice of Detroit-style pizza, look no further than Square Pie Guys. This vibrant, two-level eatery has quickly become a favorite since its launch just before the pandemic, now boasting three locations including a flagship spot at Ghirardelli Square. Known for their thick and fluffy crusts topped with inventive ingredients, their pizzas are perfect for those cozy nights in front of the TV.
I ate at their SOMA location and it’s always clean and inviting inside. The service is great and the pizza is always spot-on amazing. I recommend their green goddess sauce too for herbal taste and anchovy zing. Great for anyone near or in downtown. They’re also available for delivery, too! Cheaper than DoorDash and other delivery services and still hot when it’s delivered (yes, I dined in and also later ordered delivery the same day—the grubby pie is THAT good!).

Pizza looked good when i picked it up, I could smell something burnt, After my first bite, i could taste the burnt bottom. Flipped it over and could see the burnt bottom. Was so hungry, I ate 2 pieces, and washed them down with soda. Now i have burnt pizza after taste in my mouth,... dang wanted to like the pricey pizza,.. at least Uber eats had a Bogo deal that i used. The 2nd pizza is basically cheese, and looks a little less burnt Update After trying to eat the rest of the pizza later that night, it was barely edible, The burnt crust smell, and taste just got worse, Can't believe i ate the burnt crust slices that i did. This was beyond just well done. I wont be back for burnt pizza And i dont recommend chancing it It just shouldnt be burnt at all

We order pizza from this restaurant once in a while thru DoorDash. The actual restaurant is in a bad neighborhood so we resort to delivery. The pizza is always good, one of our favorite spots in the city. French fries are good too! They have quite a few of pizza options on their menu, along with desserts and soda options.
Nick P — Google review
Pizza was not it for me. The crust was lackluster in both the flavor and the texture department— missing that yeasty, slightly fermented flavor and consequently the chew was not there. The crispness associated with a Detroit style pizza was absent entirely. For $20+ a pizza, I also would expect more cheese and sauce, both of which also lacked flavor. The fries were good though, even at room temp. Their ranch is different. I think it’s home made, which is a plus. It’s tangy but not zesty, a little on the runnier side for me personally but I’m from the south and ranch dressing down there identifies more with yogurt than it does a sauce. I didn’t hate it. This place is popular for takeout, about a dozen or so DoorDash drivers were parked on their scooters out front waiting for their phones to light up. The restaurants online platform is via DoorDash for pickup or delivery. Neighborhood is rough no matter how you paint it once the sun goes down, your mileage may vary, though.

The best mushroom pizza I ever had! The cheese type(s), mushroom quality and their cooking technique seem unique. Laege portion size. The staff were quite nice and patiently answered my questions.

Basically $30. For a decent pizza the size of a paper plate. Tried this for lunch. The pizza was ok. Very light on the sauce and was basically cheese bread with toppings. The fact that it was $28. Dollars for an ok pizza the size of a paper plate (8 ½in.) was disrespectful. On top of that there's a 5% charge for employees medical. I pay for my familys medical already i shouldn't have to help pay for your employees as well. 1st and last time I'll be eating from here.

We had a delicious and very enjoyable in this clean pizza shop with great service. We highly recommend the chopped salad, lemon pepper wings, and spicy Hawaiian pizza. Yum!

First time here, I did take out. I am not a pizzas eater, the reason made me wanted to taste it was because the shape and thickness of the pizza. I should say that was one of the best pizza I had tried. The restaurant has very good environment, it has indoor and outdoor settings, much better than regular pizza restaurants. The staff was very friendly.

Foghorn Taproom is a charming and laid-back eatery that recently opened its third location in San Francisco, bringing a delightful twist to the local dining scene. With inviting outdoor seating, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy their extensive selection of beers on tap alongside an impressive menu featuring mouthwatering fried chicken sandwiches and wings. The highlight here is undoubtedly the legendary chicken wings, available in tantalizing flavors like mango habanero and hot honey crunch.
Absolutely love this place. My favorite is the chicken sandwich. The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The wings are fantastic. The staff are always friendly. There is always a great buzz inside.

The food is delicious. The chicken sandwich is flavorful, juicy, crunchy, and tastes amazing. The chicken tenders are a good size and come with fries that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can place your order through the QR code, as they don't accept cash, and the food is served very quickly. If you need water, it’s self-service. However, the service isn't good so unless you're looking to order beer, I would recommend getting your food to go and eating somewhere else.

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: Pretty standard fare for a sandwich place. Would I come back: I'd come back if someone really wanted to come here. The extended review... Fried Chicken Sandwich: 3.5/5 - The chicken was fairly moist. The flavor itself was pretty standard fare. Fries - 3/5 - Can't go wrong with fries. Nice way to compliment the sandwich. Pretty standard fare. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Some outdoor seating vs the sports bar section on the inside.

Good beer selection, sidewalk seating is a plus, but food is just ok and service is lacking (only one person behind the bar for a nearly full restaurant). Safeway has much better fried chicken unfortunately.

Cantonese restaurant
Asian restaurant
Capital is a traditional Cantonese restaurant located in San Francisco's Chinatown. The unassuming space offers both counter and table seating, and it's known for its popular salt-and-pepper chicken wings. These wings are a must-try, fried to perfection with thin slices of jalapeno for an added kick. While the chicken wings steal the spotlight, the menu also features a wide selection of overlooked Cantonese specialties that are worth exploring.
Fantastic service and outstanding food! 😀 The chicken wings are a must-try, perfectly golden brown with an irresistibly crispy exterior that gives way to juicy, tender meat inside. Every bite is packed with flavor and crunch. The Steamed Pork with Mushroom and Chinese Sausage transported me straight back to Canton China. The savory aroma of the sausage, the natural sweetness of the mushrooms, and the well seasoned pork come together in a wonderful balanced dish. Celebrating Father’s Day at the Capital Restaurant was absolutely worth the trip. Lots of parking near by parking structures.

Known for their fried chicken, which was certainly better than most Chinese fried chicken I've had. It was crispy yet juicy and tender. The pork belly and mixed vegetables was average though. The portions were large, so I had leftovers to bring home. Overall, a good spot for Chinese food

Flat out—chicken wings are the best. We’ve tried other places and this is definitely the best. They give you a lot for the price. I was disappointed that they didn’t give me any tea or even offer it to me. Atmosphere is you get seated where you can, so get cozy. Beef chow fun was sold out!!!

I first came in 2017 and have remembered the chicken wings ever since. I had to come back during this trip and it did not disappoint. The Singapore noodles were a little bit dry but delicious.

Capital Restaurant has a Chinatown basement restaurant vibe even though it is on street level. Tables are tightly packed not meant for the average American. Previously, the tables were really sticky. Now they put table clothes on some tables. The counter lady is Toisan and is not friendly. The older waitress is nice but she is too busy to offer good service. One person to wait on 10 tables is kind of ridiculous. The food is meh. My house salt pepper wings $13.75 had too much salt. It was crispy but it needed more of a pepper taste. People around me seemed to enjoy it; as it is the house special. The beef stewed braised noodles $14.75 + wontons $3 ($17.75) was OK. It needed a little bowl of soup on the side, as most places will provide. The tendon pieces were too hard to eat. It should have been cooked longer. The added wontons were small and needed sesame oil or minced shrimp. Not good. Other than that, this meal was fine. I wasn't expecting much.

This place is maximum okay. Staff is not nice, not rude either they just do their job like a dead river follows the flow I took chicken wings and it was normal, okay, if you just buy wings, salt it and airfry at home it will be same. Have eaten better wings at KFC Atmosphere feels like this is the place for a construction workers brake Price is not that cheap, I just had a chicken wings with rice and it topped to 20$ Portion is big though, enough for 2

Honestly? I didnt think the chicken wings were super special.... They are definitely fried to perfection, but the seasoning is underwheming to me, I personally prefer more flavorful variations of wings. Loved the honey walnut shrimp though, impeccably done. The hot and sour soup, mongolian beef, and fried rice were just okay. They're super sweet and it's such a nice spot tho!
Phuong L — Google review
In the heart of Chinatown, lots to do in the surrounding area. We lucked out with getting a table quickly, small restaurant but they definitely maximize their seating. Service is quick, you could see them hustling to stay atop of orders. Food was good, some dishes stood out more than others. Personal favorites were their chow mein and honey walnut prawns. Some dishes like their fried rice could use more flavor. Open to eating here again. Great spot for authentic Chinese food!

"The Bird" is a popular counter-serve eatery located in two bustling areas of San Francisco. It's renowned for its delectable fried chicken sandwiches, wings, and salads, all served with a variety of sauces and fritters. The menu also features the "Naked Bird," which offers the option to enjoy the flavorful chicken without the bun, accompanied by handmade apple slaw. The restaurant takes pride in using free-range chicken and freshly baked buns from local bakeries.
What. A. Fried. Chicken. Sandwich!!! Easily one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the Bay and I was more than impressed when I stumbled upon this small but mighty establishment. Blink and you miss it and you definitely don’t want to miss it! The spicy fried chicken sandwich is off the charts delicious!! Crispy and juicy large portion of chicken topped with apple slaw (don’t shy away from it, sounds different because it is but it sets the sandwich apart and off!!) I savored every bite and was sad when I finished it! Only thing I would add to it is to make it a little spicier but even then, ridiculous good!! Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving a good chicken sandwich!!

Solid place for a bite for about $15 total with chicken sando and tots. Order at Kiosk, very modern energy. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich itself is good, not great. Good Flavour, the size and quality of chicken itself could be better. For the $10.50 price tag, super solid. Will be back, if in the area

Well dressed and seasoned crispy chicken that overhangs the bun, spicy but not too spicy. Slaw was a fantastic complement with lots of celery and apple. Prices were great and service was quick. Will definitely come back here next time I’m in town.

Visited The Bird while in SFO based on the great reviews, and it didn’t disappoint. The place is small and a bit tight on seating, but the food makes up for it. The Naked Bird is a must-try—unique flavor and good portions for the price compared to nearby spots. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in downtown

Best chicken sandwich’s in SF. Chicken was juicy snd crispy, coleslaw was not too creamy, just the right amount of crunch and acidity. If you’re looking for Dave’s Hot Chicken in the city, come here you won’t be disappointed. Donuts were solid but go for the chicken sandwich

I don't go into this part of town much for obvious reasons but when I do always stop at The Bird for some of their world famous fried chicken! It was Hacksaw Jack the ex triangle player for the San Francisco Symphony that prompted my visit to Montgomery Street, it seems he's getting booted from his office space to make room for a new In-N-Out that'll be opening in March! Well...I helped him move his equipment, and then we went to The Bird and had an Amazing meal. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

I was not impressed with the food here, I was expecting better based on the reviews. The chicken for the sandwich had too many tendons in it, made it hard to bite through, and was absolutely buried in a pile of mayo making the breading very soggy. The curly fries are very similar to your average frozen brand or chain fast food place curly fries.

Came here with a friend and wow this place impressed! Good: - The noodle dish was amazing - the tinaktak was so good and the portion sizes were incredibly generous - I liked how savory the whole dish was - The rice was simple, yet it was so good even by itself - The rolls were sweet and the butter with it made it even better - Service was great, we were checked in on quite a lot throughout the meal and asked about how things were tasting. - Nice ambiance, really good for catching up for a friend Bad: - Pork belly dish was a little dry but I had to add the sauce and it was much better after - It's expensive...but I wanted to try everything. Overall such a good experience! It's packed for a reason

Phenomenal food, plenty of options for meat eaters and vegans alike. The staff are the absolute sweetest folks and I love to hear “hafa adai” when I come in! Their food is a little on the fancier side and not exactly fiesta style so be prepared for smaller portions but the flavors are fantastic. I love the bereghenas, sweet potatoes, iceberg salad and tamale. Friends love the kelaguen and I haven’t had a single complaint when I have brought people here for dinner. Sometimes they have live music and events as well.

Super good for eating out with friends, they have many big tables especially outside well spaced, cute atmosphere Miche-nada is an excellent non alc drink I found this food to be oversalted, really taking away from my ability to taste the flavors presented. Because what I was tasting was really good until I would be overwhelmed by salt. I would keep my eye out for this cuisine again and I really wish the food wasn't so salty. The only thing I could really eat happily was the tinaktak and red rice. And the roll.
Jade — Google review
I hate to say this and I very rarely feel this way about a restaurant, in fact I don’t even remember the last time I felt this way, but this was by far one of the worst dining experiences I have had. I will preface this by saying that Prubechu was at the top of my list of restaurants to try while visiting SF. I heard great things about it and was very excited to come here with my husband for our anniversary. Unfortunately, that excitement was met by the biggest disappointment. Here’s why: After checking out the menu, our server explained to us that the fiesta table (tasting menu) is where the “chef brings out the best of the food” in 10 courses. It’s $96 per person for this option. We compared the regular menu items, which by the way already seemed unreasonably expensive ($25 for 5 chicken wings, $32 for a potato dish, $10 for pickles, etc), and we decided YOLO let’s do the feast. We were excited to go all out (it was our anniversary) and to try their cuisine. First course was a creamy potato soup. Very mediocre, and I was concerned at the decision we just made to spend $200 on dinner with this being the first course. Then a “Caesar salad”. Idk in what world that was a Caesar salad. Not that I care that it wasn’t a Caesar salad, but why are we calling it that? It was large chunks of tomatoes, very large pieces of frisée, corn, and a creamy dressing. Caesar? Also it was very lacking in flavor. Then they brought us a cheesy focaccia with super crispy edges (this was the best thing we ate there but how is that even Guamanian?) Then they brought one small shrimp tostada. For the two of us. It had an avocado cream base and cold shrimp on top. Very basic, kinda bland. At this point we asked the server for hot sauce, he brought us a (tiny) condiment cup of hot sauce and told us to use very little because it’s super spicy. He wasn’t lying, the entire dinner we consumed probably half of a teaspoon of the hot sauce (this is relevant for later). After that they brought us two tacos with cold meat and grated coconut. Again, not flavorful, and cold. Then the entrees: short rib and chicken wings. The short rib was surprisingly tough, we had a hard time cutting it. And the chicken wings had a nice crispiness to them but extremely overhyped. By now, we are absolutely shocked at what we had been served for the price they were charging. But I figured dessert may just fix all of this. Wrong. A scoop of vanilla ice cream with a little nut crumble topping sprinkled on top. That’s when I really felt scammed. $96 per person and you’re serving us a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert? That felt extremely lazy and disrespectful. And then get this - we get the bill and they charged us FOUR DOLLARS for the hot sauce. WHAT?!! We couldn’t believe it. We already felt the tasting menu was way too expensive for what they served, and then they can’t even give us a complimentary spoonful of hot sauce?? I have never felt more scammed in my life by a restaurant. My husband and I go out often and don’t mind spending money on nice meals, but this was beyond disappointing and the biggest waste of money. I genuinely have no idea how people are leaving such great reviews. I truly wish we felt that way because this was no cheap dinner, we only got 9 of the 10 courses for some reason, portions were small, horrible value, and just not good food. The only good thing at the restaurant was the service, the guys who served us were nice.
Gladys S — Google review
Ah, this island girl truly felt the hospitality at Prubechu. How did I end up here? Let's just say a lot of last minute decisions and plans that I normally would not be on board with (I am very type A and also an INFJ personality). I was out with a friend and although I was so tired, I wanted to go and try Prubechu as he said he could not make his first reservation. And he kept raving about all the things that he has heard about this place. Now let me tell you, this experience overall - not just at the restaurant but overall was a good time. But I'll save that story for another day. Back to Prubechu. I tend to look at reviews and photos of restaurants before I visit a place but on this occasion, I decided not to. When we arrived in the Mission, I was excited to see that the space was outdoors. We were almost 30 minutes late and luckily D called them and let them know we were late and they were so kind. Right from that phone call I knew we were going to a great place. Now back to the food. Everything on the menu looked amazing. Lord knows how picky I can be with foods sometimes but nothing here gave me the ick. As we were deciding on what to get, it was so hard because all the dishes that came out as well smelled amazing as they passed our table. On a whim, I said we should do the fiesta table and he can order the wines. Done deal. The team shared that the fiesta table would include items that were not on the menu so of course we said heck yeah. I could not even remember what we ate that night (and by this I mean I cannot describe to you what the dishes were) but I can tell you that they were amazing. As someone who isn't in love with certain flavors, Prubechu surprised my tastebuds and shook me with how each dish was served with intention. One of the team members saw that I had not touched my glass of wine after 20 minutes and was so kind to offer me another recommendation and I was very impressed by this. I extended my thanks and shared I was caught up in the conversation but that she was very kind in doing so. We cannot wait to go back and try items on the menu as well. Until next time!

Easily one of the most satisfying meals I've ever had. As someone who grew up in Guam, this restaurant captures the nostalgia that you'd expect from a Guamanian restaurant with a surprisingly elevated twist. I had lunch there on a Wednesday and the staff was attentive but relaxed, which was so fitting for how things work in Guam. Nobody is in a hurry and it gave me a chance to just relax and enjoy the cozy outdoor patio. I had the corn soup, koko wings, beef tinaktak, chicken kelaguen, red rice, and the banana donuts with fresh whipped cream. Yes, I ordered all of that, and yes, it was just me. Mind your business. Every dish held a wonderful surprise twist that elevated it beyond my expectations. The corn soup was actually served chilled, which is SUPER non-traditional. Even in Guam's humid heat, we eat corn soup piping hot in a crunchy, edible cup. This corn soup was refreshing and exciting with fresh corn and basil and a super crunchy topping that brought an insane texture juxtaposition. The wings were crunchy and super juicy. The tinaktak was served over house made noodles, which is also not traditional, but it was delicious. The banana donuts had a crispy exterior with a gooey center and were served with fresh whipped cream. Honestly I'm still reeling from this meal. This is a MUST-TRY if you're in San Francisco.

Chicken wings restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Hayes Valley, Double Decker is a no-frills eatery that has become a beloved spot for locals seeking delicious comfort food. Known for its mouthwatering Buffalo wings, many consider it one of San Francisco's hidden gems. Despite its modest size and utilitarian decor, this counter-service restaurant offers an array of tasty options at reasonable prices—an increasingly rare find in the city.
Here is my review of dining at Double Decker. The Western Bacon Cheeseburger was definitely 5 stars + some. The beef patty was firm, fine grained and slightly marbled. The bacon tasted sweet and very similar to applewood smoked bacon which is thick and meaty. The bun was toasty and not to thick. I particularly enjoyed the fries and could have eaten more. The dinning room was not my favorite because of the uncomfortable seating area and loud noises from the counter. Since the design of the dining room was outdated and not set up for comfort dining, I had to compromise. All n' All. I enjoyed the food and service.

TLDR: tiny hole in the wall with juicy burgers I stopped by for a quick burger and it came out to about $9 for a cheeseburger. It came out in about 10 minutes and I chose to sit at the one outdoor table. My favorite thing about the burger was actually the bun, soft and fluffy while holding its shape. The beef patty was juicy but it was lacking in salt, so even with the sauce they put on it, I had to add ketchup and mustard to enhance the flavor. For the price and quality, I would say it’s on par but just a tad more salt would enhance the flavor

We came here by chance while waiting for my mother-in-law’s medical appointment to finish. We ordered the California Burger, 3 Wings (mild sauce) with fries and strawberry milkshake. The food was great. The burger was juicy and not salty compared to other burgers (so if you’re into “unsalted” or lightly salted patties, this is the burger for you). I’d like it better a little bit more salty than it originally is but still good. The wings are just the classic ones you can eat and you can choose from different kinds of sauces. They use Mitchell ice cream so you can already expect the taste of the milkshake, not so sweet with bits of strawberries. The food is great since it’s hot and fresh off the grill. It has a small seating capacity (3 small tables inside that can seat 2 per table and 2 tables outside which can seat about 4 per table). Overall, a good place to eat.

Stumbled upon this place by chance and… what a great cheeseburger. As others said, it’s a hole in the wall type of place. The burger strikes the perfect balance between juicy and greasy. Very flavorful and it really hit the spot. The art of a simple meal… nothing more, nothing less, just perfection.

I stumbled upon this place by chance, and I’m so glad I did! The burgers are fantastic—nice and flavorful, just like the classic ones from old-school burger joints. The garlic fries were a standout too. And it’s all super affordable. The seating is a bit limited, and the drink selection isn’t huge, but honestly, it’s totally worth it. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Ate here on 1.28.2023. Got the Double Decker burger, 6 wings of Spicy Korean flavor, vanilla milkshake, and onion rings. The milkshake was mediocre. It didn't have a rich creamy texture or vibrant sweetness to it. The onion rings were fine. The burger was okay, but I expected more for a $10 burger. The wings were not enjoyable to eat. The Spicy Korean flavor was too salty and the wings were just soggy and not appetizing to eat. I think for the price I paid, I expected higher quality of food. I could have gotten amazing wings at Bonchon for a cheaper price. I won't be coming here again.

Five stars in a hole in the wall greasy burger place way. Doing exactly what they need to do. Service is no-frills, strictly business. Inside is dark and dingy but clean. Chicken takes 10-15 minutes but is hot, fresh, and juicy. Veggies and toppings all seem fresh too, crisp and vibrant. Bun probably wouldn’t last if getting delivery or taking further than a few blocks. It’s yummy though. Overall great harmony, nothing doing too much or too little. Highly recommend chicken burgers (nice chicken breast not a patty). Turkey burger is decent. Yet to try the standard beef burger and wings but certainly will soon!

Came by Double Decker for dinner with a couple of friends on a Weekday evening. Based on the photos previously it seems like a small place but is in an interesting spot. Spotted beside a hotel, it has not a lot of seating. It appears to serve some of the basic options which are done well. Ended up going with some friends to get their different types of wings and ended up getting their Sweet Chili, Teriyaki, Garlic and their Medium wings with a side of their fries. Sweet Potato Fries - More of an average cut. With a right amount of texture and crisp outside. Medium Spicy Wings - Not too spicy as other places would call it. More of a mild spice when referencing to a typical sports bar Buffalo wing and more comparable to the spiciness out of a mild Thai entree. Garlic Wings - Very crispy and very prominent flavor of garlic. Has kind of the profile of pesto when it comes to dryness of the garlic. Overall excellent. Sweet Chili - Very saucy and flavorful wing. The sauce reminds me of the Thai Sweet Chili sauce used for egg rolls and other fried foods. Simple, but tastes very sweet with an extremely light sense of heat from the chili. Teriyaki - Good based sauce that resembles Teriyaki well. Especially if you enjoy Teriyaki sauce and wings, this would be for you. Overall I would recommend this place as it is pretty reasonable for prices for wings and provides other essentials such as burgers, and fries at a decent price. They also have a Happy Hour between 3-6PM here.

Restaurant
Teeth Bar SF, located in the heart of the Mission District, is a popular spot known for its trivia nights, games, and pub grub. The bar offers a spacious patio where patrons can enjoy their 25-cent wings on Wednesdays. Additionally, they serve tatchos and Popsons burgers on their back patio. Despite being a bar, the food is surprisingly good with highlights such as fried chicken sandwiches, burgers, chicken tenders, and tots.
Teeth is a fun bar. The bartenders and staff are great. The front area was full of young people. The patio area was for more older people. I'm here because of Paolo's review. He mentioned 50 cent wing Wednesdays. A pint of Modelo and 10 wings is about $13. I tried their buffalo and lemon pepper on the first round. The wings are on the smaller side and very salty. You will need ranch. For the 2nd round, I tried their BBQ and teriyaki. The first round was much better. It was tough to eat 20 wings and garlic fries. The wings tasted less delicious the more I ate them. The little carrot and celery sticks were a nice change of pace. The garlic fries felt dry. An hour later, my mouth is still wonky from eating all that salt.

Super friendly staff even if they are a little slow. Great value in the food. Brunch portions are big renough to share. Really cute and eclectic place that just screams come have fun here!!! Nice and colorful outdoor patio with plenty of seating.

went in for happy hour, got the burger beer combo. mid burger, good atmosphere. price comes out to 19$ to throw in fries, free beer tho. out the door $25 with tip.

I used to come here on Wednesdays for the 50-cent wing deal, but that’s no longer the case — wings are now $1 each, and even a soda costs about $5. For 10 wings and a soda, my total came to around $17 after taxes. I really enjoyed this place before, but at these prices, I could just go to Wingstop and get more value for my money. That said, the staff is great and the food is solid, but I’m not sure I’ll be coming back as often.

I really wanted to like this place. Dr. Teeth has all the surface appeal of a fun, low-key neighborhood dive—interesting name, decent music rotation, and a lively local crowd. Unfortunately, repeated visits made it clear that professionalism lacks. Bartenders regularly prioritize their friends for service, often handing out what look like free drinks. I’ve personally experienced being skipped over multiple times. The environment often shifts from fun and eclectic to oddly exclusive. While culture is appreciated, it simply doesn't match the ambience. Professionalism is sorely lacking here—rude staff, lack of accountability, and casual impropriety behind the bar. There are signs of mismanagement everywhere—from questionable transactions to behavior that borders on impropriety. It’s hard to believe a manager is even present, much less enforcing basic operational standards. If there is one, they’re either unaware or complicit. Disappointing on many levels. Better to try other options.

This place has been hyped up for me from multiple people. Good vibe with a large space inside and also a patio outside. Food was okay, wings could have been better, it was a little soggy. Burger was great though!

I hosted a team gathering at Teeth. It was a wonderful experience made even better by Brooke, Robbie and the entire Teeth team. We had one of the back patios reserved. The fact that they don’t charge a F&B minimum was great and conducive to a casual gathering that we were hoping for. The space is large, with TV’s for watching sports and made for the perfect setting. Major plus that they have pitchers of beer! Along with a nice tequila selection. Thanks Brooke & team!

Restaurant
Proposition Chicken is a modern cafe that offers a variety of fried and rotisserie chicken dishes, as well as crispy tofu. Located near the University of San Francisco, it provides a DIY menu where guests can choose between Fried or Flipped Mary's bird and select their preferred format: sandwich, salad, or traditional entree with fixings. While not entirely gluten-free, most menu items can be prepared to accommodate those with celiac disease or sensitivity to cross-contamination.
This is the third Prop Chicken location I’ve tried in the Bay Area. I ordered a flipped chicken salad and garlic thyme potato wedges for lunch. They were both great! The lettuce was nice and crunchy, and the chicken was well seasoned. The garlic thyme potato wedges arrived still warm and crispy. Definitely a good pairing overall and fantastic lunch or dinner option.
Corina — Google review
Tofu entree was very good and different from most vegetarian options you normally see. Biscuit was delicious. The chicken in the salad was dry so that dish was a disappointment. Why can’t chicken places not serve dry chicken?? The rest of the salad was okay, nothing spectacular. Next time we’ll try the fried chicken and then decide if this place is worth coming again.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Proposition Chicken – California St I’m a delivery driver. I came to pick up an order and knocked respectfully. The guy —yes, the same one who appears in their Google business photo— looked me straight in the eye and still chose to speak to me through the glass. No greeting, no explanation, no effort to be polite. Just cold and dismissive, like I didn’t even matter. That’s not store policy — that’s a lack of basic human decency. Now, to be fair: the two other employees who handed me the order and the lemonades were the complete opposite. Kind, helpful, smiling — exactly how a brand should be represented. That’s what professionalism looks like. One rude attitude can ruin the experience for everyone. You might serve good chicken, but if the treatment isn’t consistent and respectful, it all ends up tasting like cold, dry disappointment.

Typical chicken place. Their wings are small in size, with watery dipping sauce. The potato wedges were the highlight of our meal; followed by the salad. Food came out fast. Order at the counter and self-serve.

Fried chicken sando looks really pretty. Pillowy puns are great. Appreciate the single slab of chicken breast that's pretty juicy, though it's not seasoned enough for me. The sando was a little dry without much sauce. Gotta put more than just two tiny pickle rounds in there!
Fei Y — Google review
Liked the sandwiches and cornbread but my god something needs to be done about those wings. The scrawniest and least flavorful wings I've had in a while. Did these poor chickens die of starvation? If this is normal and they're just like marathon-runner chickens or something then fine, but cut your prices in half. Foolishly ordered a second time months later hoping they'd be different but nope, conditions have not improved.
Michael Z — Google review
Without a doubt, Proposition Chicken serves some of the best chicken meals in the entire San Francisco Bay Area. The food is consistently tasty, fresh, and well cooked. What really sets this particular spot apart is the people. The staff is passionate and clearly cares about creating a great experience for every customer. I especially want to give a shout-out to Ann — she's always friendly, helpful, and upbeat. Her positive energy makes every visit even more fun. Tasty food, great service, and nice people. Highly recommend!

For a place that specializes in chicken, I really want to like it more, but the chicken is just... Fine? It's not bad, but considering it's all they offer I expected the fried chicken to knock my socks off, when it's really just okay. Wish they had a frw more options as well - a different kind of salad, for instance.

Restaurant
um.ma is a modern Korean restaurant located in the Inner Sunset, offering a vibrant atmosphere for enjoying Korean barbecue, sides, and soju. The restaurant features chic indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio with picnic tables and heaters. The menu pays homage to home cooking with comforting dishes like kimchi fried rice bowls and Korean stew. A must-try dish is the fried chicken wings glazed in citrus gochujang, honey butter, and ginger sesame soy. um.
They have a large outdoor patio in the back. Food didn't take a long time. It was really good. The soft shell crab was good but decently spicy. Overall this was a really solid Korean restaurant I could for sure come back.
Joshua Y — Google review
Came here on a weeknight, never had trouble getting a table. The food is good but not great, partially due to the prices to portion ratio. We ordered teokkboki, LA galbi, beef bulgogi, pork belly, kimchi fried rice, bibimbap. Everything was well cooked. Galbi wasn’t too fatty and was delish, bulgogi was slightly too sweet but still tasty, kimchi fried rice lacked seasoning or taste, bibimbap had a unique western take on it, pork belly was mid. One disappointing thing - banchan (small side dish) isn’t free flow - it’s just season quails eggs, spiced broccoli, yellow pickled radish and kimchi. It’s disappointing considering these are inexpensive sides even from a restaurant owner perspective. I’ve dined here on multiple occasions, I’d personally recommend: LA galbi, scallion pancake, soonduboo jjigae, rock n roe rice and charred gai lon. Service staff were good! We enjoyed our food and service, just oddly underwhelmed by needing to pay for side dishes which are free flow in majority of the Korean joints I’ve been to. It’s not a big deal, just in principle? Would come again if I’m in the area. Total came to about $50+ per person with tips.

Having been here dozens of times over the years, Um Ma is an acceptable spot for patio Korean food with good vibes, especially on a warm day. Whether you are in Golden Gate Park or strolling through the sunset, it's conveniently located. Again, the vibes are good and the patio is a plus as it makes it dog friendly. Doesn't really feel like an authentic Korean place and it's a bit like they are trying too hard to be hip but maybe that's what sells. I recommend making reservations as it can get busy during prime time. The service is ... usually sub par. Even on our best visit, it was still lacking. I want to be charitable and assume they are just severely understaffed. You'll often have a hard time getting a hold of them and even if you do, expect to remind them multiple times for requests. They've made it so you can now order on your phone but for any special requests, it's the same issue. The food is pricey but a few of the dishes are actually worth it. Haven't visited in a while but apparently now they charge for extra banchan (side dishes)... what? I know times are tough but damn. While the patio atmosphere is nice and the location is convenient for many, there are better Korean spots even in SF (and much, much better in the Bay in general). Overall, the place is good but not great and while the atmosphere is lovely, things like the insufficient level of service and the inconsistent quality of the dishes makes it hard to make this a must visit for anyone.

So glad to finally try Um.mas and definitely worth it! The sundubu-jjigae was everything you could want out of a soup on a cold day. It was incredibly fresh and well seasoned, like everything else we had. They had great portion sizes as well for the price. Staff were incredibly polite and the overall vibes of the restaurant were chill and such a relaxing, fun place to be. I'd definitely go back.

Not a bad price at all for the atmosphere and quality of food. I really enjoyed the patio, super cute and cozy. My sister loved the sesame soy chicken wings. The soft tofu stew was tasty. We are definitely coming back to try their Korean BBQ!

Best Korean food in town! And at a decent price! Highly recommend their bibimbap, corn cheese, dak galbi and kimchee prawns. Most of the seating is at the back of the restaurant, each table sits 4 comfortably. Consider a reservation, especially during weekends. This place gets packed. They also have the BEST side dishes.

Good Good Culture Club is a vibrant and airy spot with a colorful interior and a rooftop terrace. The restaurant, led by Liholiho Yacht Club chef Ravi Kapur and his talented team, offers creative comfort food and cocktails. The menu features aromatic and inventive dishes inspired by Asian flavors, such as catfish in house-made green curry and ribeye yakitori with five-spice glaze. There are also gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options available.
So much yumminess here! Bright, delicious flavors and fresh dishes. Came as wall-ins and we were able to sit at the community table, which was fine. Still had lots of space and it wasn’t cramped. Next time will make a reservation so we can be by the windows. The shrimp salad is excellent — definitely worth ordering.

Had SUCH a great evening here!!! We ordered a ton of, service was awesome, and drinks were delish! The chicken wing, fried sole, and skirt steak were to DIE FOR!!! Highly recommend. Also was treated to some yummy Thai tea ice cream as an anniversary treat!

Great atmosphere and friendly service - got seated at the bar without reservation. However, food quality was disappointing on both visits. The Positive: The Chips & Dips sauce was excellent. Rock Paper Scissorz cocktail was well-made (rum/pandan). Lively vibe, accommodating staff. The Negative: Crispy Pig Ears were burnt and nearly inedible - hard shell with little meat inside. Sizzling Beef was mostly bean sprouts with minimal beef. The appetizers were okay, but the main dish fell short of expectations. Service and atmosphere are solid, but kitchen execution needs improvement. Would consider returning only if food quality improves.
Cantik — Google review
Very mediocre food. Seems like a Thai place but all the flavors are just so American. The stuffed chicken wing is just like the sweet buffalo wings with some strange stuffing. Pork ribs is again covered by sauce that is too sweet. Pork jowl and skirt steak is okay. Fried sole is an another bummer. The fired dishes all have unbelievably thick and soggy coating. The grilled mushroom is dry and not flavorful at all. The portion size is also very small given the price. Not worth the visit. Basically an elevated Panda Express — yea only elevated in the price though.

Came here to celebrate my anniversary. Overall, the food was good, though it didn’t exactly wow me. We ordered the pork riblets, jewelry rice, and chicken wings, but the standout dish was definitely the grilled skirt steak — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The happy hour drinks were also a highlight — we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine for just $9 each, which felt like a great deal. A nice spot with solid food and excellent drink specials
Carmen A — Google review
We attempted to make reservations online, and while the only options were rooftop seating, as walk ins we lucked out to be seated inside (which we appreciated for warmth, but also was very loud). The tuna tataki and sprouted cauliflower were the highlights, but we felt that some of the vegetarian options are better described as sides, than vegetarian dishes (the jewelry rice for example). Overall, it was a good experience but nothing mind blowing.
May H — Google review
Good Good Culture Club is the sister restaurant of one of our favorite spots, Liholiho Yacht Club, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite measure up. The food is less interesting and portions are smaller. The atmosphere was extremely loud—almost unbearable for a Tuesday night. I suspect the loud music pushes people to talk louder, which then makes everyone else raise their voices even more, creating a noisy feedback loop. I’d recommend avoiding the chicken wings. They’re coated in a hard shell of syrup, and the inside is bland and flavorless. The rest of the dishes were ok. While it’s not a bad place to try once—especially if you live nearby—I won’t be coming back.

Chicken restaurant
Krispy Krunchy Fried Chicken is a fast food joint that specializes in Cajun-style fried chicken, along with wings, seafood, breakfast options, and more. The positive reviews about their fried chicken are true; it is known for being some of the best, most flavorful, and moist chicken in the city. Despite its location in a gas station, don't let that deter you from experiencing this culinary delight. The honey biscuit is also highly recommended for its deliciousness.
Wow, amazing. Did not know gas station food can be this good. You can get so much chicken for $11. The chicken itself is also delicious. The meat was tender and well marinated. The chicken is well seasoned (might actually be too salty for some but it was good for me). The skin was also very crispy. Also didn’t experience the bad service some other reviews talked about but maybe I got lucky. Only complaint is that there isn’t a place to eat it so I had to wait 10 min until I got home to eat it which I am sure affected taste (still delicious though)

Just writing this right after my meal, I’ve had a combo and some wedges. What I’ve came across is a stone under my teeth and an expired foul tasting ranch. If it comes to the chicken, yea it’s 8 hour old food under warmers. Just saying what I felt!!
Venkat A — Google review
Ok, I really want to give them 5 stars, but it's gas station fried chicken y'all, 😆 so it can't get 5 stars. The chicken is unexpectedly delicious! Perfectly fried, no batter, just flour and amazing seasoning. Has a slight acidic, spicy vein running through the seasoning. Really quite satisfying at 2am when the bars close, or buy a bucket for Sunday picnic. It's a franchise, so you can find it in most cities, at least in California. But again, it's in a gas station convenience store, so it's not a dine-in, seated meal. Some of the best fast food out there! I mean, who doesn't crave fried chicken every now and then?!
Ross U — Google review
Our family and friends used to buy from this S. Van Ness location for years, best chicken around. However, since my sons cancer diagnosis 5/2023, the service and chicken went downhill. My son's fave chicken and potato wedges would always run out, or we were served very dry, old food. Cancer patients can't eat food older than 30 minutes to 1 hr old bc of bacteria that won't affect healthy people but can kill low to zero immune sickly people. The Krispy Krunchy on 3rd and SSF always make fresh batches for my son and treat him to the delicious blueberry cornbread! Wish we could still go to 16th/S. Van Ness, but won't risk the time, safety, or off chance of finally getting fresh food.

May 3rd,2021 (4:27am ... ) we had to wait 7mins for our Krispy crunchy chicken...but it was SO worth it cause it was So Super Delicious!! This gas station Krispy Krunchy Chicken is the BEsT krispy krunchy chicken in San Francisco!! (... and I have been to All the Krispy Krunchy Chickens in san francisco haha) i figured they all would taste the same....but they do Not. This krispy krunchy chicken has the bestest honey butter biscuits!! They are just full of flavor so moist and yummmmy!! They are Not dry at all ( a lot of the other krispy places ...the biscuits are just...dry..:( ..) and the blueberry biscuits!! Like the jiffy blueberry muffins..but a biscuit full of yummy~ness!! The chicken...also full of juicy yummy~ness...i dont know what they do different at this krispy krunchy chicken place ... but they are definitely the yummy~est krispy krunchy chicken in San Francisco!! When we first pulled up to this gas station..if you have ever been here or if you decide to go here (which everyone should try the food here!!) ....maybe just go during the day time..(haha..jk) if you are not use to the area tho...it can look... its san Francisco.. haha .. but dont be scared.. just run inside and order some krispy krunchy chicken food from here! Or even better .. you can just order some krispy krunchy chicken (the one on van ness ave ) from doordash or postmates and have the food come to you (: The only reason i put 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the cashiers are kinda rude like or get irritated or something because i am not sure what they are saying and i keep saying .."what..?.." ..or .."..um..i dont know what you are saying.." but i guess i could see how that would be kinda annoying.. and the other reason why i put a 4 star instead of a 5 is because the sun face on the box freaks me out and is just creepy!! (Sorry if you never noticed the Sun pic on the box...until now because i had to point it out to you.. and now you will also be forever freaked out everytime you get a box of food from here.. .. sorry.) But dont let that stop you from getting food from here cause it is So Super Yummy!!
Stacie N — Google review
It's up to you, gas station good atmosphere? Not really, but the chicken makes it seem better than it is, I think. If you have trouble with spicy, make sure you order with that in mind, or your chicken will have little rivers of hot sauce all throughout! If you dig spicy, well you get the picture. They have other things to eat as well, and it's open 24hrs a day! Woohoo!
Jeremy G — Google review
Some of the people that previously worked there we're rude and dishonest. Sadly they seemed to possibly be illegal aliens and sometimes violent towards customers. The chicken is good but the service has often been terrible. I think it might be different now that they got rid of all those very overweight rude people. No offense, the police needed to investigate alot about assault and battery. They might have all lied about each brutalized individual and that was how they got away with it so many times?

The venue offers Hawaiian and international cuisine in a lively atmosphere suitable for all ages and skill levels. Guests can enjoy a no-frills menu while sipping on beverages and indulging in upscale nachos under the glowing neon signage. The friendly staff adds to the convivial ambiance, making it an ideal spot for food and pinball fun.
Went here with family and ordered a spread of appetizers, entrees, and a dessert. Not a single dish disappointed us everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My philosophy with a lot of fusion food is that you have to make the fusion on-par or better than the dishes it’s derived from. Dishes like the tater tots went above and beyond your traditional messy tots, the wings were some of the best I’ve had, and everything was still tasty the next day Now the atmosphere and service. Service was great, nothing like beyond your wildest dreams but I was happy with the promptness of refills, check-ins, etc. atmosphere is genuinely one of the best. We walked in and were wowed immediately by the beautiful arcade design and retro futuristic vibe.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Overall: It's a great place to come to for food and pinball fun. The extended review... Food: Korean Chicken Tacos - 3/5 - A good app to share. Some decent flavor combinations here as well. Pig Melt - 5/5 - I have to say that I had some lower expectations here and was pleasantly surprised. The taste was awesome and I would order it again. And the best part is that I was able to get some tots with this. Malasadas - 3/5 - I ordered these and curd is what really makes the dish. The malasadas were pretty standard fare so make sure to get a bunch of the curd on there. Service: 4/5 - We sat at the bar and the service was awesome. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Ambiance: 5/5 - It's a good set up where it doesn't allow for that many people inside so it seems more intimate. And as you are waiting for food you can play pinball!

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Great ambiance and atmosphere, amazing food, and great service. This place is definitely the sit down restaurant I've frequented the most since moving to the city. They have a great selection of beer and all of the food is incredible. Some menu highlights are the fries, perfectly crispy and delicious furikake, the pig melt, delicious pork with perfectly balanced toppings on a yummy, fluffy Hawaiian roll bun, and of course, for dessert, the lilikoi malasadas, perfectly balanced sour and not too sweet. I've taken so many friends here and my family including my sister who's a strict vegetarian and this is one of the only vegetarian friendly Hawaiian restaurants I've ever been to, she absolutely loved it.

Brunch restaurant
Alnico is a popular spot known for its delicious Asian fusion cuisine. One of their standout dishes is the Korean Chicken Wings and Waffles, featuring a honey soy glaze and black sesame butter, offering a unique twist on the classic dish. The restaurant tends to get busy around 11 am, so it's advisable to arrive early or join the wait-list upon arrival. While parking may be easier compared to more central locations, it's recommended to plan accordingly.
A Filipino-style brunch, what’s not to love. Yes, the wait can be quite long during peak hours, but we arrived reasonably early and were able to be seated right away. The chicken and waffles, as well as the short ribs with rice, were delicious. The signature ube made for beautiful drinks like the Vietnamese Iced Coffee or the Ube Hotcakes. However, the taste may not be as enticing as the visuals suggest. With that said, the food was very good and all in all the restaurant was a great choice for brunch. Recommended.
Josh R — Google review
The food was savory and really good. We enjoyed all we ordered that we shared. Ordered the famous ube pancakes and the sauce that comes with it was so good. The chicken and waffle was delish and chicken porridge was totally different,,the spice and the crunches of the garlic was amazing. I will definitely come back.
CRISTINA B — Google review
Came here for a weekend brunch and will say that the fusion Filipino cuisine is exceptional and quite filling, although there can be some wait time between 10 - 12. Their Ube hotcakes are simply amazing and the flavor inside is great. We also had the Loco Moco and the Branzino-Silog, both of which we quite enjoyed as well. Each person ordering one dish is enough. For drinks, their Vietnamese Coffee with Ube Foam is strong, but the Ube foam doesn't have the most flavor. In terms of pricing, for SF, they're reasonable for brunch, but the only reason it's not 5 stars is because our server was not the most attentive. He got our order wrong, forgot a drink, and also couldn't provide more details about possible allergies in the food. He said he would check and come back, but he never came back to let us know.
James — Google review
I chose this spot for a girls’ brunch out I organized because it could accommodate a large group up to 10 people and the online reservation system through Toast was flexible, allowing me to make modifications leading up to and even during the week of our reservation date. I’m very satisfied with this place as a brunch option. I prefer Asian fusion brunch to other brunch cuisines, so this place was ideal. Also, various members in my party, including myself, have dietary restrictions, but this place is allergy friendly and accommodates special diets as well, so there ended up being something for everyone, and everyone in my group liked the food. One of my friends who’d been here before ordered the poached chicken porridge/congee. Out of everything on the menu, it sounded the best and seemed reasonably healthy, so I got that as well. It was delicious and reminded me of the congee I was served on a Singapore Airlines flight a couple years ago. While a bit pricey, the portion was large, so it was a decent value. So far, this has been one of my better brunch experiences in SF and probably one of the only places I would return to.

Food: 10 out of 10 would recommend. Honestly, if everything else--service, ambiance, wait times--were horrible, I'd still recommend going, just for the food. We were fatties and ordered way too much (Bistek, Tito Boi, Ube Mini Pancake Stack, Turon). It was all good. Just a heads up the mini pancake stack of ube is PLENTY. Unless you're carbo loading for some athletic event the mini pancake stack hits the sweet spot. Seriously, go get the food there. Oh and we got the Matcha Latte and Vietnamese Coffee with Ube. Also delicious. I wish we could taste more Ube with the Coffee but 🤷🏾‍♂️, its to be expected, as with most things coffee related, coffee tends to be the dominant flavor profile. The food arrived in a relatively quick manner. Considering how packed it was, I was expecting the food to take a really long time, but it didn't. I'd say about an average wait period. Service: Absolutely fantastic. They were attentive without hovering, friendly without being too pushy, and were there when you needed them. What else could you ask for. Additionally, I was able to ask them to switch out my longinisa for vegetarian sausage (it was delicious btw). They did it all with zero fuss 👍🏾 Ambiance: The place is really sunny and bright, nicely decorated as well, and since they're so busy there's a constant humdrum of social conversation. Honestly, their popularity is a bit of a double edged sword here because the only noticeably "negative" thing that I could point out is that the place was very crowded and the tables are kind of close together. Even that kind of goes away once the food arrives lol. A stomach full of delicious ube pancakes and what is essentially shrimp and grits will often do that 😅. Wait List: Because of it's popularity, I'd recommend doing a reservation. They say wait times are usually about an hour. However, because we're both lazy and impulsive we just decided to walk up, and despite being fully packed we were seated in like 15 minutes. Another kudos! 👍🏾

We came here with reservations for Mothers Day and had to still wait a little before we got seated due to the table before taking their time. Everything was solid! My mom and sis loved the ube coffee drink and I liked my regular ube drink. The pancakes are good but you must have every bite dipped in the ube sauce. Next time, we can go for the smaller portion to share vs a whole order. The sesame chicken wings with waffles had delicious sesame flavor that was strong on the waffles which we were a fan of. The loco moco was the best one! The sauce was so rich and tasty! Highly recommend and service was great :)

My friend and I have been wanting to try this place out. We've been seeing posts and articles about the food and were curious. We decided to have brunch at Alnico on a Saturday at 11. My friend took a while to find parking, but she came just in time for us to get seated. It took about 20 minutes of waiting in a virtual line, but we luckily got seated quicker coz most of the other parties were bigger. I got the chicken wings and waffle and the mango mansi drink. My friend got their version of a loco moco and the ube latte. We decided to share the ube pancakes. Flavors were good and I really enjoyed the sauce on the pancakes. Wished I got something alcoholic. The interior is lacking and the staff basically rushed us to pay and leave. Can't blame them coz they were pretty busy. Is it worth another visit? I'd go if someone else wants to try it. Edit: went again with a different set of friends. We were seated outside at around 1pm. Better service coz they weren't in a hurry to get us out of there. The rib-eye Bistek was delicious! And as always, the ube pancakes had to be ordered. Everyone loved it.

The pancakes and chicken waffles are expertly prepared, arriving fresh and hot. Upon discovering this spot, I noticed the lengthy queue, so you know it’s good and worth the wait. Arriving before the noon rush ensured a peaceful atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, clearly passionate about their craft. The flavors were delightfully infectious, and the sauces were generously portioned. The wings were perfectly crispy without being greasy. Coming back with friends.

New Golden Daisy is a popular takeout spot in San Francisco's Chinatown, known for its delicious fried chicken wings and other Chinese deli items. Despite the long lines, customers find the wait worthwhile for the flavor-loaded fried bird that comes at an affordable price. The menu also includes crunchy garlicky fried chicken wings, char siu, and duck. Customers appreciate the friendly service and quick turnaround despite it being a cash-only establishment.
Stumbled upon this place while I was walking through Chinatown for the first time. Speaking as a connoisseur of 燒肉 Siu Yuk from Hong Kong, the crispy roast pork here is delicious, very authentic and can rival the best of Hong Kong. Before my visit, I got a turkey sandwich and a bottle of Mountain Dew for 8 bucks, then came to Chinatown and bought the box of fried rice + Siu Yuk + tofu in the photo for $10. The portion was so big I couldn't even finish it. Great value for money 👍 The staff are friendly and can speak Cantonese.

The food was good and it only cost $12 for peking duck, noodles and vegetables. But the duck was served really cold. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be that way. I just didn’t like it.
Rhoneth M — Google review
New Golden Daisy is my favorite place in Chinatown for chow mein $5 and fried chicken $8 by the pound. I've been coming here since I was in elementary school. Back then, it used to be like $1 a pound. Even though the prices went up, the quality remains the same. Very delicious. Since this place is pretty busy, the fried chicken gets a lot of turnover and isn't sitting there the entire day. They are nice people.

Delicious but lukewarm food. Hey, but for the price, it’s worth it. Only $5 bucks for noodles and tofu. Noodles and chicken wings. That’s a whole meal for one.
JC B — Google review
The price is right. $7.99/pound for fried chicken drumsticks. $5 per pound for noodles, tofu, sweet and sour pork. Good place to pick up food for a party. I didn't order but the chicken wings are $10 a pound. It is a good spot to cater food for events.

Take out only. Lady was very helpful. I ordered the BBQ pork and a pound of chicken wings. The wings just came from the back kitchen. Yes! Great wings! Piping hot and full of flavor. BBQ pork moist, tender and beautiful char siu flavor.

Love the chicken drummettes at New Golden Daisy. I think it's the best for the money! They also have good Chinese deli items including the fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour pork and tofu. Had a luncheon at work for about 9 people and each person chipped in 15 dollars. Plenty of food that was way enough for lunch and dinner! It's in Chinatown so parking can be a little tough. Fast and quick service. Cash only.

Crunchy garlicky fried chicken wings from New Golden Daisy in Chinatown next to Good Mong Kok bakery. Different from the twice dried dry wings from San Tung as these are not sweet or saucy like San Tung’s, but a delicious snack nonetheless especially considering how cheap (we got 2 wings for $1.30, along with some char siu and duck to go) and how friendly the ladies working there are 😋🥢👍🏻 for half a duck (on the smaller side but v cheap), a big piece of char soy and 2 wings the bill was $13.50

If you're on the hunt for a wing experience that tantalizes your taste buds, look no further than Wingslut in San Francisco. This gem specializes in chicken wings with an Asian fusion twist, offering a variety of unique sauces that elevate the traditional wing game. Diners rave about their favorites like the A-Side Alpha and Dirty Sand, both packed with flavor and generous portions of meat—much more than what you’d find at typical chains.
Tried the A-Side Alpha, Dirty Sand, Szechuan Dry and a side of Szechuan fries. The A-Side Alpha was the favorite. The rest were good too but the Dirty Sand came in second. The wings also had twice the meat of typical wing chains I’ve tried. They were fried nicely and our leftovers heated up well in an air fryer. I wish the Szechuan fries had more seasoning in our batch though. The sauce is also really unique and tasty.

American restaurant
Bar
Wayfare Tavern is a popular upscale restaurant in downtown San Francisco, known for serving American cuisine in a British pub-style setting. The menu features Tyler Florence's signature dishes, including burgers and fried chicken. One of the highlights is their homey doughnuts with various dipping condiments, offering a refined twist on this classic treat. The restaurant also offers an array of desserts and digestifs, making it an ideal spot for after-dinner indulgence.
Dined for lunch and were lucky to visit before they moved to their new location. Great friendly service, rustic old school tavern vibe (at least in this location). Deviled eggs were great to start with. A Yorkshire pudding was served instead of bread which was a nice surprise. Fried Chicken was excellent, moist and a perfect ratio of breading . Tavern burger was very moist and flavorful. Side of cauliflower was excellent.

I’ve been to Wayfare Tavern several times before and have loved each experience until last night. We were seated promptly at our reservation time which was great, however it then took took 10 minutes before anyone talked to us or got us any water. Not the end of the world, but things didn’t exactly pick up from there. The table next to us was extremely loud, that’s not the restaurant’s fault but added to the chaos of the evening. It took more than 20 minutes to get our first drink, and when my wife was given a chance to place her drink order they eventually came back to let her know that they were out of that specific cocktail. Bread showed up around the 30-minute mark, then shortly after our food arrived. From there we went about half an hour without anyone checking in, and no one ever asked how our food was once it arrived. The appetizer selection has always felt a bit underwhelming, but thankfully, the fried chicken was just as good as I remembered. It was crispy and juicy and just overall great. My wife enjoyed her burger and fries. And the macaroni and cheese we ordered to share was great. The food was phenomenal as always which kept this from being a one-star experience.

Our fifth anniversary was nothing short of magic, and Wayfare Tavern made it unforgettable. ✨ From the moment we walked in, we were met with warmth and grace—three heartfelt “Happy Anniversaries” from the host, our server, and even as we paid the bill. That kind of attention doesn’t just make a dinner—it makes a memory. The interiors were a dream, designed by the ever-talented Jon de la Cruz, a kababayan whose work truly captures both elegance and soul. If you ever dine here, touch the wallpaper. Trust me—it’s art you can feel. Before our meal even began, we were surprised with a complimentary champagne toast, a simple yet profoundly touching gesture. Then came the popover, buttery, golden, and cloud-soft—honestly one of life’s small perfections. We started with Deviled Eggs, and I can confidently say—these were the best I’ve ever had. Each bite was creamy, tangy, and perfectly seasoned. The Tavern Burger arrived, accompanied by dangerously addictive shoestring fries—one bite and I understood why it’s legendary. Then, as a self-proclaimed fried-chicken devotee, the California Fried Chicken took my breath away: crisp, juicy, full of heart, and unmistakably Californian. And to end the savory symphony, the Burrata Whipped Potatoes—so delicate, buttery, and dreamy, they could melt even the coldest heart. Wayfare Tavern isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a love letter written in butter, wine, and grace. 🍾✨ Thank you, Chef Tyler Florence and team, for giving our love story the most delicious chapter yet. ❤️ 📸 Photos posted with no filter—just pure authenticity and love for great food.

This place is solid I would totally take a date here, a parent, a friend visiting. This place is just classic good dinning and the service is incredible. I don’t think I’ve had hospitality like that in a really long time. Get the deviled eggs those are bomb. The steak and fish were mid, but I think if you went for the schnitzel, fried chicken or burger you would be in heaven. Would totally come back!

Wayfare Tavern is such an incredible spot for a wedding reception — timeless, cozy, and filled with that signature San Francisco charm. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with the perfect mix of elegance and comfort. The food is phenomenal (truly some of the best I’ve ever had at a wedding!), and the staff is so attentive and welcoming. It photographs beautifully, especially with the moody lighting and vintage details that make it feel like a tucked-away gem in the heart of the city. It’s the perfect place for couples who want a romantic, elevated, yet laid-back celebration.

I had an amazing lunch at Wayfare Tavern’s new location on Pine street today with two colleagues who are also in the hospitality industry. They have made a more than successful move to their new space. The food was exceptional, service exceptional, and pricing reasonable. We sat in a very comfortable banquet near the hotline and enjoyed the show. The restaurant is gorgeous and features both indoor and outdoor seating. We’ll definitely be back again!

Wow… So I walked around downtown taking some photos, and I saw this place. No thinking about I walked in and asked for table/ bar seat. Wow… The host greeted me with smile and gave me nice spot by the window (i love it). I don’t even know… how to describe it but my plate was empty! Delicious? I think something better than that! Recommend!

Though the food, I had the schnitzel, was ok. My friend had the burger and enjoyed it. We split the whipped potatoes. Generally it was fine but underseasonsed for us both. My pork, on the bone, schnitzel was really fatty and non enjoyable in that section of it. Service was fantastic.

Nopa is a popular Californian restaurant known for its focus on fresh, local ingredients and creative cocktails. The two-story setting offers a lively atmosphere for diners to enjoy Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The restaurant has an inviting outdoor dining area with heat lamps and comfortable seating, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance on Hayes Street. Nopa's farm-to-table practices ensure that many of their menu items are gluten-free, making it a favorite among diners in the Bay Area.
Food was great. I ordered a couple of drinks and some food. Was recommend to try the chicken which was better than expected. Crispy skin, juicy and hot (fresh), the pickled veggies that came along were mint! Will try something else next time. Well worth it. Only caveat, is it was REALLY loud while I was there. I sat at the bar and had to put my headphones in just to turn down the noise.

Fun concept with a different menu everyday. Ate Moroccan fried chicken. Seasoning was amazing, chicken was very juicy and crust was super crispy. Was a little bit too much oil left on the chicken for my taste. Had a side of peppers with aioli and peaches, taste was great.

nopa gets a nope from me. the service was lackluster, with our mains coming out over 40minutes late. the food was forgettable, with the salad being the best dish of the night. overall disappointed with this place and it was laughable how far they fell from the mark. early girls: refreshing and juicy, enjoyed this dish cultured bread and butter: nothing memorable, bread was cold fried chicken: hard skip, too salty but also bland cheeseburger: why did i have to build my own burger. wasn’t even tasty. skip. tagliatelle: solid dish
Andrea S — Google review
Nopa is a standout experience, but what impressed me the most was the impeccable service. The staff was incredibly courteous and attentive, making the entire meal feel special from start to finish. While the menu changes daily, you can count on excellent quality. We had the fried chicken, trout, and the Nopa burger, and everything was fantastic. The burger deserves a special shoutout—the house-made brioche bun is perfectly soft, and the patty is thick, fresh, and cooked just right. The drinks are also top-tier; I asked for an espresso martini (which isn't on the menu), and it was the most perfectly balanced one I've ever had. The restaurant offers a few different vibes depending on where you sit. The second floor felt the most intimate and stylish, while the outdoor seating is a great option if you prefer a quieter setting. A crucial tip: get a reservation. It will make your life so much easier. While they do take walk-ins, you should expect a wait. For a place that nails everything from service to food to cocktails, Nopa is absolutely worth planning ahead for.

Absolutely stellar service, food, and drinks. Our server was attentive and helpful all the way through. The fried chicken was stellar. Sweetly spiced and paired well with the blistered shishitos. And having a flight of whiskeys that are rare and usually pretty pricey (Larue, Handy, Van Winkle) for under $30 was a huge surprise. An extra Elmer T Lee pour for $24 was the icing. Just a fantastic experience. 👏

Kin Khao, located at the Parc 55 hotel, is a vibrant and modern Thai restaurant that offers locally sourced dishes and cocktails. The restaurant's colorful decor complements its bold curries, which are a highlight of the Michelin-starred establishment. Chef Pim Techamuanvivit's passion project aims to elevate traditional Thai cuisine by using produce, meat, and seafood from local Northern California suppliers.
not sure why all the negative comments, probably cause positive experiences dont urge reviews to post as much? we had an absolute amazing time, and i think this place indeed deserves the Michelin star. cons: a bit dingy and crammed to my liking. and not the most airy and ventilated pros: i generally expect three criteria in fine dining: taste, innovation, portion size(most restaurants fail at this) and 5star in each category. the fried chicken and thai pad were nice twists on our favorite foods. the pork was cooked to perfection. drinks were delicious as well! we were served hot towel after chicken wings and our tables meticulously cleaned after each course.
Sayan M — Google review
I came into this meal with high expectations, especially given that the restaurant boasts a Michelin star. With a reservation secured, I was genuinely excited to see what the buzz was about. Unfortunately, the experience left me underwhelmed, primarily due to the food. Despite the prestige, the dishes were merely average—well-executed, perhaps, but lacking in creativity, boldness, or the kind of memorable flavor you’d expect from a starred kitchen. Considering the elevated price point, the overall value just didn’t hold up. There was no glaring flaw in execution, but nothing stood out either. Each course felt safe, predictable, and ultimately forgettable. On a brighter note, the service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and well-paced throughout the meal. The staff certainly lived up to the fine-dining reputation, and the ambiance matched the upscale tone of the evening. However, if you’re visiting specifically because of the Michelin distinction, I’d suggest tempering your expectations—or perhaps looking elsewhere. There are other restaurants at this level that deliver a far more compelling culinary experience for the price.

Casual for a Michelin Star restaurant, but the flavors are really there. If you thought you had Thai food, this is a next level rendition. Highly suggest reservations ahead of time as the wait can be almost an hour on a busy night. Dining area does get loud with conversation, so if you want something quiet this is not the place. The pad kee mao and massaman nuea are highly recommended. A blast of flavor and premium ingredients to recreate common Thai dishes.
Elie M — Google review
Really delicious meal at Kin Khao. We had the Nom Tok beans, tomato salad, Khao Yum , Pad Kee Mao, and Delicata Penang curry. They have a a lot of dishes that are veg forward and full of flavor. The first dishes came out super fast and continued with good pacing throughout the meal . This was my second time here and would come back again.

Overall A: this place indeed deserves the Michelin star, excellent taste, innovative, appropriate portion size. On a Sunday night with a 5 o'clock reservation, we had Yum Polamai stonefruit shallot cilantro salad, Pad Kee Mao drunken noodles pork onions basil, Khun Yai's Rabbit Green Curry pork meatballs basil, NA cocktails, Soi Ari pineapple lime, and Bang Rak tumeric lemon that was too bitter. Family style is usually our approach, and we were able to make 4 meals out of the two.

Loved Kin Khao! Amazing wine selection to pair with Thai food and great cocktails/mocktails too. Highlights were the Hot Chicken Wings, Saeng Wah ceviche, and the Black Cod Gaeng Kua — absolutely Michelin star–worthy!
Raina B — Google review
We went there for our anniversary, but it’s a disappointing experience. Thai food has always been my favorite, and a you-can-never-go-wrong category, but KinKhao really tells me how wrong that idea is. The food should be authentic, according to the website and the menu. We ordered what’s recommended by the waitress, yum polamai as appetizer, massaman nuea for main dish, and namprik long lua for side. Yum polamai is fine, it is acidic and that does the job for an appetizer. I didn’t like it but it’s not bad. The second dish is namprik long lua, which is a bunch of fresh veggies and the dip. It’s just not a good combination, the dip is salty and doesn’t go well with cucumber, fig or the papaya. The only thing the dip worked with is the fried eggplant. At this point I was already kind of disappointed, but I still had hope for the curry. Finally, the main dish massaman nuea is served, which is braised beef in massaman curry, and I got really upset. After the appetizer, and the salty dip with veggies, the curry shouldn’t be something that tastes like nothing. It should be more flavorful, not bland. The beef is tender but it’s got no flavor. Who likes this stuff? And who gives this restaurant a Michelin star? The Michelin star is as good as an one-star review. If you have never had Thai, and this is the first time at a Thai restaurant, I’m sorry.
Adam C — Google review
I went to this Thai restaurant yesterday, and honestly, I was pretty disappointed. The food itself wasn’t great, but that actually wasn’t the biggest issue. The real problem was that there were lots of little flying bugs while we were eating. One even landed right on our papaya salad. I’m someone who’s quite sensitive to hygiene and bugs, and I really can’t accept having flying insects around while I eat—especially when there are enough that they land on the food. That raises serious concerns about cleanliness for me. Also, the prices weren’t cheap. For Thai food, I feel like $50 per person is on the high side. The location wasn’t super easy to find, and if you need to use the restroom, you have to ask for a key, which is a bit inconvenient. As for the service, it wasn’t unfriendly overall, but one of the staff had a very cold expression and didn’t seem very welcoming. There was a younger woman who was friendlier and more helpful, though. In terms of the food: • Most dishes were quite greasy and salty. • The papaya salad tasted overly pickled, like it had been marinated too long. • The sausage had a strong lemongrass flavor but was also overly salty. • The pork rinds tasted stale, like they had been fried too long but weren’t crispy, and had very little flavor. • The pad see ew was extremely oily and salty as well. I honestly don’t understand how this place got a Michelin star 🤔. If you’re looking for a high-quality Michelin experience, this place might not be the best choice—especially with this kind of hygiene situation, which left me very confused. Just hoping to help others avoid a disappointing visit!

No exaggeration… best Peking Duck I’ve had in my life. We had the 6 course dinner that was a surprise with every dish. Innovative, complex and a delight to the senses. Not a mystery why they have earned a Michelin star. Service was impeccable and served with passion for the food. ALDA was incredible ! Last minute splurge, we booked the only appt, last one of the night. But luckily they notified us that an earlier spot opened up. The food took on an interesting take on Hong Kong cuisine. Our favorites were the choeng fun (with clam!), silken tofu (lots of tofu and made in-house tofu), and the chrysanthemum milk tea (lactose intolerant friendly).

Cool restaurant to visit while in Chinatown. We reserved 2-3 weeks in advance but saw some walk-ins later. You have to pay like $60 per person to confirm reservation if you go for the online option. We visited on a Friday night. We arrived 20 minutes early and told to wait in the bar area, which was another concept located in the second floor, very cool vibe and we had drinks: Limit of Heat and Summer Solstice. Both were excellent! We went down at the time of the reservation and still the table wasnt ready! Had to wait 15-20 minutes for the table, which for a Michelin star place is not the best. Despite that they gave us a nice table overlooking to the street which compensates the wait in a way. We had the summer banquet menu. Overall excellent food. We tried: Yusheng (Halibut), Eggplant, Cheong fun (Sea urchin), and Fried Rice as first and second courses. Everything was super great, favorite the Halibut and Sea Urchin. Then we had the Peking Duck, crispy, with a pluot sauce which was super good. The only thing we weren’t expecting were the portion sizes, everything was so big, after the first courses we were almost full. For desert we had Apricot Kernel Jello and Nian Gao. The latter was our favorite, very fresh, balanced. Definitely visit if looking for a deluxe experience in Chinatown.

Really disappointing experience at what’s supposed to be the only primarily Chinese Michelin-starred restaurant in the USA. Before we even got there, I called seven times and sent two emails trying to reschedule our reservation — crickets. No response, no callback, nothing. When we showed up, they didn’t even acknowledge that we’d been trying to reach them. I’ll give them credit for the ambience being pretty nice, and the portion sizes were actually bigger than I expected. But I couldn’t help noticing we were one of the very few (if not only) Chinese diners there, which felt a bit odd. The service was all over the place. Our waiter rarely checked in to see how things were, would rush over to clear plates while we were still eating, but then vanished whenever we actually needed something. We tried flagging them down multiple times just to order a drink. And here’s the kicker — they made it sound like an extra dessert was “on the house” for a birthday, then it showed up on the bill. The food was hit or miss. The snack course (shrimp chips, mala peanut, carrots with tofu sauce) was honestly amazing — creative use of traditional Chinese ingredients done right (8/10). The dessert trio with chrysanthemum ice milk, apricot kernel jello, and nian gao was also fantastic, just the right level of sweetness (9/10). The Peking duck was solid and tender, though nothing crazy (7/10). But then… the sea urchin dish was just meh and felt half-baked (4/10). The 36-month jinhua ham was straight up bad — tasted like frozen deli meat with random peach slices that made zero sense (1/10). And somehow they managed to over-salt basic fried rice?? (2.5/10). For a Michelin-starred restaurant — especially one representing Chinese cuisine at this level in the US — this was really disappointing. The lack of communication, spotty service, and inconsistent food quality just didn’t match the hype. A few dishes were great, but that’s not enough to make up for everything else.

The tea smoked duck is a stand out. Once you order, it takes an hour. They use Liberty Duck. Mister Jius perfected the method by making the exterior crispy and the inside still medium rare and moist. We ordered the daikon cake with olive tapenade which was so unique. I don't usually like olive but the olives on top of the daikon cake elevated the taste. Their chow fun with charsiu came out piping hot, the way it should be. I feel like they made the noodle from scratch too. Good amount of soy sauce and flavor. Can never go wrong with milk bread and homemade soft honey butter. Prices are a little higher than other Chinese restaurants but this is quality. Must try

We got a reservation through email with their host at 8pm. We showed up and were greeted by the hostess who said there was no reservation in their system. After we showed proof, she found the email and said she'd see what she could do. We walked around Chinatown for 30 minutes waiting for a text, now 30 minutes after our scheduled reservation. We went back to check in. She offered to seat us on the bar and begrudgingly offered to pay for our first round of drinks (making it seem like this was some grand gesture), we politely said we'd wait for a table. She said she might be able to seat us before 9, when they do their last seating and we agreed. At 9 sharp, an hour after our reservation, we were seated. The sommelier came over and put down three wine glasses down, we told her we wouldn't be drinking wine, but she told us it was a "gift," but didn't specify wether or not it was just a gift for the sake of being kind or a gift for us being seated an hour late. She uncorks the bottle and pours three comically small glasses for us (pictured below), but we assumed it was just to make sure we had enough to all have two glasses. She then puts the cork back in the bottle and took it back into the kitchen never to be seen again. The waitress then comes to let us know that they were out of the dish they are most known for, and the reason we came in the first place, the roast duck. Not only were we disappointed, but we were also keenly aware that we had to wait an hour after we were supposed to eat and can only imagine that it would have been available if we were seated at the appropriate time. We ordered the fried rice, green beans, wonton soup, chow fun, rolls, and the silken tofu. The rolls came out first along with the shrimp chips with smoked salmon dip. We didn't order that, but assumed it was a gift to make up for the mix up. It wasn't, but we'll get back to that. Both dishes were excellent and definitely the highlight of a night full of low lights. Next came the wonton "soup." I put quotations around soup because it was three dumplings on a plate with about an inch of broth that was room temperature (plate shown below). we were given traditional single serving soup bowls to pour the "soup" in, and the broth might have come an inch above the bottom of the bowls they brought. It was so late in the night, we didn't send it back, but it was the most average and unsatisfying "soup" I remember eating in some time. The pacing of this meal was also extremely odd. We got two dishes at a time, but there was no real rhyme or reason why things came out. The last thing to arrive was the chow fun with shaved horseradish over top, which had such an off-putting odor and we barely touched, because it was just not very good at all. We realized we never got our tofu, but since we were full, I told the waitress we didn’t need it and just wanted to be sure it wasn’t on the bill. We also mentioned we hadn’t ordered the shrimp chips. She checked and said they’d been brought to the wrong table—so not a gift. She was lovely, and it was an honest mistake, just one more in this comedy of errors. An aside, I witnessed one of the most awkward scenes I've ever seen in my life. The table next to us was celebrating a birthday and our server and the GM (I believe, he was kind of just walking around all night looking at all the tables and bringing out food some of the time) dropped off dessert with a candle. They started singing Happy Birthday and IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG HE LEAVES THE WAITRESS BY HERSELF TO SING TO A 6 TOP COMPLETELY BY HERSELF. The table wasn't singing either, so it was just her serenading by her lonesome. The bill came and it was correctly not including the shrimp chips we didn't order or the tofu, but not a single comped item for our trouble or an apology. The level of mediocrity we experienced in every aspect was shocking from a Michelin starred restaurant. Cold food, inappropriate serving receptacles, and a clown show at the front of house. Complacency is rich within the walls of Mister Jiu and we will not be back.

Great place, great atmosphere, service, drinks, expansive and expensive wine list. Essentially a price fix menu, choice of two 1st courses, then a well prepared Peking duck. Went with one other couple. One drink each. A bottle of wine, $140, about mid price on the list. An order of fried rice with the dinner. Ended up, at almost $500 per couple.

Excellent service. The wait staff accommodated us despite their moongate lounge being closed and were super friendly. Each dish we were served was unique, flavorful, and excellent presentation. Truly of the best finds in SF.

The Front Porch is a cozy restaurant that offers a blend of Southern and Caribbean comfort food in the Mission district. The ambiance is homey, with rocking chairs outside and a tin ceiling inside. Known for its delicious fried chicken, the restaurant serves it on a cornmeal waffle during brunch and as part of dinner platters or buckets. Guests can also enjoy other dishes like cornmeal-crusted fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, paired with tasty cocktails.
Gréât for hosting your next Brunch get together. Reasonably priced mimosas and equally pleasant options for dining indoors and out. The French toast was delicious with a perfect Amount of glazing. Our server couldn’t have been better

Great vibes. Food was overall pretty good but no standouts. We tried the baked Mac and cheese (pretty standard taste), the cornbread was dry, the gumbo a little watery. The fried chicken was done very nicely though. Dive bar vibes
Yuchen L — Google review
So everyone knows now that I am a foodie. I have been here several times without posting a picture of my food. Today I purposely am doing so because this place although hidden away by a alley is a gem in the Mission area. I arrived around 6p.m after my Art Gallery event in Castro. It was packed only seating was @ the bar, I ordered a charbroiled Angus burger with loads of blue cheese with Cajun fries. I also order a refreshing and unusual cocktail with bitters called "Respect your Elders" made with Elderflowers and European bitters . It was so disarmingly good and subtle. That burger was perfectly done with all the fixings and a variety of hot sauces on the side, those fries were crispy and delicious. I was pleasantly full. Next time I got to try the fried chicken with Mac & cheese and collard greens on the side. The patron next to me said it also is delicious. I would give this restaurant a 10 just for the food but, the staff and owners get some love for making people feel welcomed.

First time here and will definitely come back! The food was AMAZING! ordered the Dr. Pepper braised short rib with grits and collard greens, and also the sweet tea braised pork chop with navy bean rice and cauliflowerini. Recommend both! Had the sweet tea that was sweetened with agave, delicious! The fried pickles are a must along with the beignets! The vibe was adorable. Definitely gives the southern feels and mood! Service was 5 stars all around!!!!

Came here before clubbing one night w a friend and gotta say, perfect way to start off a night. The atmosphere & vibes of the place were so comforting yet aesthetically pleasing. Did lit with the only lights coming from the bar/a little lamp on your table. We ordered their fried chicken with collard greens and mash potatoes as well as their hush puppies as a starter. Both were insanely good, especially the hush puppies. We also got the "respect your elders" and the "porch swing" (which we asked to make a little sweeter) and both were so delicious as well. Paired very well with our food & was a heavy pour! Would love to come back again and try more.

If you’re on a quest for fried goodness, look no further than The Front Porch! This charming spot serves up fried pickles that are the perfect balance of crispy and tangy, making them an addictive appetizer—you might just find yourself ordering seconds! And then there’s the fried chicken. Oh, sweet poultry perfection! With a golden crust that crackles with each bite and juicy meat that’s reminiscent of Sunday dinners at Grandma's, it's comfort food at its finest. Grab your friends, but be warned: you might just end up fighting over the last crispy piece! Fingers crossed they have extra!

Then he tells me "Hey...If you help me set up the Ringler's Loppner on my roof, we can walk the half block over to the Front Porch Restaurant for a chicken dinner" Well, that was enough for me, I was all in! Ever since my pal Hoebiscus Quinnipias raved about the place on his Podcast I've been planning on going there, and today's the day for The Front Porch! Let me just say this about the whole experience....WOW! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

I am but a small soul, so this was sooo much food! Crazy crunchy friend chicken but slightly dry and the meat was a bit underseasoned? Some might say I’m being picky. Those mashed potatoes and fried pickles though? 10/10 The southerner in me was satisfied; would go back. A bit weird to make sweet ice tea with honey but you do you.

German restaurant
Beer hall
Event venue
Schroeder's is a historic German beer hall located in the Financial District of San Francisco. Established in 1893, it offers a Bavarian-inspired atmosphere with traditional dishes such as bratwurst, pretzels, and boot-glass beers. The outdoor dining area provides a relaxed setting to enjoy popular items like Kartoffell Tots and Wursts on pretzel buns. The restaurant's spacious interior features a bar area for casual gatherings and a larger dining space for events.
Just stopped in for a quick meal, after a conference. Love the atmosphere and the food was good. I only sat at the bar so "service" really doesn't get included in this review, as you kind of are just there to drink and eating is optional. Having said that, it is kind of expensive but it's also downtown and I guess that's to be expected. I'd go back.

sauerkraut to feed a small village: pretty disappointing… we got the bratwurst plate ($20) frankfurter plate ($20), and chicken schnitzel ($26). The mashed potatoes were watery and grainy (most definitely an instant mashed potato) and the plate was mostly sauerkraut. The chicken was good but dry and the sausages were pretty flavorless. The “potato salad” was oddly sour, maybe it was more sauerkraut in disguise. Overall, might be a good place to watch the game, but not for a sit-down dinner.

Everything was wonderful! Eat, service, atmosphere 10/10. Good attitude toward customer. Eat - very very very tasty! The new best restaurant for us.

All the food was great and tasty. I ordered: 1. The dish for 20$: - The Frankfurter sausage (pork, oregano, garlic, smocked) was perfect, - garlic mashed potato was creamy, soft garlic taste - pickles were crispy and had delicious taste, - bourbon mustard - sauerkraut was cutted finely and had a light aroma of infused cabbage. 2. Draft beer hofrbrau dunkel (dark lager, Germany) was fresh. They had happy hour. It cost less than usual. ~9$ No waiting time to sit at 3.40 pm Tuesday. 5 minutes waiting time for a beer. 10 minutes waiting time for your main dishes. The staff (Stefania D) was polite. They have huge tables for the big companies. Thank you!

I wanted to love it, I really did. I was born in Berlin (Army Brat) and I love good German food. Today for Dinner I ordered the Belgian Fries (Which came with an aioli and "curry ketchup") and the brat. Starting with the fries - the fries themselves were great, as was the Aioli. Nice and crisp with just the right amount of salt. When you get to the curry ketchup - I don't know if I got the wrong thing or they are trying too hard. It tasted like a curry marinara sauce, and not curry ketchup. Curry Ketchup, even in the best german places is just Ketchup + Curry Powder. This had a watery consistency that wasn't quite ketchup and wasn't quite marinara. There was a hint of curry, but honestly I kept thinking it was some sort of marinara. I didn't use it because it was just off. The Brat was better, though the actual sausage tasted like no Brat I'd had before. But that's not a bad thing, just different. I think its a fresh sausage vs. processed sausage thing. I will say the sauerkraut did taste like it came directly out of the can, and mixed with mustard they used overpowered the entire flavor profile. Typically you'd braise the sauerkraut and that over sour flavor gets a bit milder. But with this, it was just a really bitter sour bite that made the flavor of the other tasty sausage disappear. I'll go back and try other things - I was just disappointed today that nothing really hit the spot I was expecting. **AS A NOTE** I did order this for pick up via grubhub - and the food was still hot and tasty when I picked it up!

Took my parents here for a unique experience and they loved it! We ordered two beer flights for drinks, and for food got Kartoffel tots, Jager schnitzel, Bavarian Crispy Pork Shank, and One sausage platter with two sausages - Frankfurter and Sicilian. The portions are huge but we did our best to finish most of it. Inside the restaurant, the area that's nearer to the entrance is for bar/low-key hangout where I saw some people grab drinks together after work or for dates. Further in from the entrance is the dining area where I saw some people sit down and order meals. Price is pretty reasonable given that this is SF / their portions are generous. I also enjoyed the German flights as well!

Went here for the first time in years! The place got a full make over prior to the pandemic and it is beautiful inside and much bigger then I remember. I was there for an event, so we had buffet lunch, but the variety was great and overall the food was good. I will be back to try the regular menu for sure.

Brenda's Meat & Three is a cozy cafe that serves up Southern comfort food with a New Orleans twist. The menu features delicious options like spicy fried chicken, cheese grits, cream biscuits, and andouille cornbread dressing. Guests can choose one main dish and three sides from a daily selection of down-home favorites. The restaurant also offers brunch with classic Southern dishes such as pulled pork hash, shrimp and grits, and Low Country gumbo.
Immediately when I walked in, I felt a warm welcome. I came solo so I sat at the dining counter which is the best seat ion the house. Everyone worked well together and my food and drinks were prepared quickly. I had the fried catfish, green salad, fries, and red beans & rice and I cleaned my plate. I also indulged in a wild berry and mango mimosa and let me just say I love their proportions for the price. Will definitely be coming back to eat more items from their menu.

I recently had breakfast at Brenda’s Meat & Three in San Francisco, and it was such a delightful experience from start to finish! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Alicia, the general manager, who made us feel completely at home. She was genuinely kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful, the type of person who makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. We ordered the two eggs your way combo, and it was exactly what a satisfying breakfast should be. What made this visit truly memorable was the care and attention we received from Alicia and the team. The atmosphere inside is casual and inviting, with a comfortable neighborhood feel that makes you want to linger over your coffee. If you’re looking for delicious comfort food served with a side of genuine hospitality, Brenda’s Meat & Three should be at the top of your list. Thank you, Alicia, for making our morning so special!

Went to this location for the first time after trying the original location near the tenderloin. Tried the $5 Messy mess chicken sandwich. Also had the crawfish beignets and one ube beignets. The sandwich was ridiculously delicious! The chicken was so flavorful and the flavor penetrated the meat deep inside. I wish I bought two because I was sharing. The crawfish beignets were just as good as the first location. So meaty and full of crawfish. The ube beignet is still my favorite and my biggest recommendation! The service was friendly and fast. Location was so clean!

Brenda's Meat & Three is a must-visit! The beignets were incredible—especially the chocolate one—and everything else was just as tasty. I had the fried chicken eggs benedict and the special blueberry crumble pancake, both packed with flavor. The back patio is a great spot to eat, and parking was surprisingly easy. Great food, chill vibe—highly recommend!

All of the stars aligned when our group of 9 were able to grab dinner at Brenda’s (despite not having a reservation)!! We initially resigned on having to do takeaway - but magically all the seating at the bar opened up (this was also within the last hour of opening)!! The food was absolutely delicious, generously portioned, and clearly made with a lot of love and care. My sister in law absolutely LOVED the Low Country Gumbo, my husband loved the meatloaf and cheesy grits, and I really loved the Our Burger, the fried chicken which was well seasoned and crispy to perfection!!! As one would hope, the sides had us full of lots of ummms and aaaaaaas - and you would be remiss if you visit and don’t try the mac and cheese & collard greens! All of their team were super friendly, and answered all our questions. The restaurant has a super cozy and trendy vibe, and I would say this is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic soul food done right!!

Brenda’s on Divisadero Street is a true neighborhood gem in San Francisco. The food is delicious, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the service outstanding. The servers are always kind, attentive, and make you feel at home. A spot you’ll want to keep coming back to!

I absolutely LOVED coming to this Brenda’s! I’ve been to their other location in Oakland so I knew I was in for a treat. You can tell that the chefs cook with care, the flavor is always immaculate and the warmth could heal you from the inside out🥹 This was my first time trying their gumbo and I got a decent amount of seafood in it which I definitely appreciated. Plus the French roll was nice and crispy while soaking up the stew😍 heavenly My friend got the shrimp and grits, and I have to say, when I tried a bite of hers I knew that was what I needed to order the next time because OMG FLAVOR (I’d say if you’re deciding between the grits and the gumbo, go with the grits; Either way you’ll be satisfied so it’s really a win/win situation) The beignets came out fresh and hot (AS THEY SHOULD) Absolutely delicious and thick with no air pockets inside. Those things were huge! My friend and I had one each and took the last one to go! In terms of ambience, this place has a unique charm and I loved their bar area in the middle; It made everything feel homey and connected. A true diner experience. Plus the service was great! Kind attentive staff that represented the heart of a soul food restaurant 🥹🙂‍↕️ I’ll definitely be back to this location for some of those grits!!

Escape From New York Pizza is a chain pizzeria with multiple locations, including one in Downtown San Francisco. The bright and airy Financial District location offers counter service and seating on the plaza, making it a convenient spot for a no-frills meal. The walls are adorned with historic photos and memorabilia, adding to the casual and welcoming atmosphere. The menu includes thin-crust pies, with their famous 'You Say Potato!' being a must-try option.
Amazing specialty fig bacon and ricotta pizza, perfect sweetness balance. Potato garlic was fun but couldn’t compare, it had good appeal but not as flavorful. The garlic could’ve been punchier, maybe a sharper cheese too. Nice interior gritty vibe

Perfect spot in a cool location. The pizza is really good, but a bit expensive, also the service... service?, right... what "service", there's no service. Eventhough, it is a nice place for a classic NY pepperoni pizza. (by the way: "Escape from NY" is a mandatory stop right after a records dig into Amoeba Records)
Alex R — Google review
I pretty much always get the potato pesto garlic pizza, which I love. I don't know if it's greasy enough to be true New York style, it's a medium thin crust, with enough structural integrity that you can pick it up. I don't know why but the slices eaten in house are always more delicious than if you order a whole pizza to go. Vibes wise Escape from New York is how I imagine SF in the 90s, just doing its own offbeat thing. There's a few seats to eat in, no bathroom.

Hi SF community who goes to this location There is a recisit guy who is making a pizza He should not work there. Please avoid him and don’t show him respect because he doest deseres it. The employee I dealt with was rude, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful. Instead of greeting customers or showing any effort, they acted annoyed, rolled their eyes, and spoke with an attitude like they were being forced to work against their will. Basic customer service clearly doesn’t exist here. If this is the type of person representing your business, no wonder people don’t want to come back.

As a New Yorker from Hunts point who fell in love with a Cali girl, this place didn't disappoint. Everything felt authentic from the parlor seats, parmesan and chili flake shakers to the large slices sold by the slice (verry reasonably priced btw). We ordered our slices (cheese and pepperoni) and we were served promptly. Our pizza slices were amazing. The only negative I have is that they didn't have my size on the hoodie I wanted. Highly recommended I will come back for more!
Ray S — Google review
As a born and raised New Yorker, I can say that this pizza was okay freaking great for CA pizza, but just okay to me by NY standards. Plus, brown-skinned dude with the out the box curls needed to chill with all the attitude just because my family asked for a to go box for our large pizza and plates so we could eat a few slices there. Average pizza spot though, but props for being able to buy individual slices, even if they are wildly overpriced!

Review from a takeout order: ordered the pork tacos, chicken fried rice, and spicy wontons. although the pork tacos were more ground pork than a tender piece of pork belly shown in the photos, it was great and gave me inspo to make at home. Chubby Noodle could be a great noodle house, but as of my visit it's still just a pretty alright one. The food was good but not great. The wait staff, while attentive, wasn't very friendly. You'll also find that you don't get a ton of food for what you pay. That might be okay if the food was great, but there's a bit to go for them until they get there.

I was a bit skeptical of the “fusion” setting but it did not disappoint. Fast and easy service, with great indoor ambience. Definitely try the pork Chow Mein, green beans and spicy wanton. Loved it all, would come back but unfortunately it has to be the next trip to San Francisco. Would definitely recommend.

Would Recommend. Honestly was extremely surprised by the quality of food that this place put out. Came here with no expectations and was blown away. Beans - smokey, wok hei, saucy. Perfect. Garlic Noodles - NGL this is about as western as you can get, but it was good. Chewy, great flavours and well stir fried. Mongolian Beef - Really decent. Loads of tender meat and again, that wok hei coming through. General Tso - Skip this. Average at best and too western. Spring Rolls - Amazing. Dumplings - Skip. Salt and Pepper Shrimp - Skippable. Not bad but nothing special. Wings - Really amazing. Korean style with a crispy crust and sweet and spicy sauce. Chow Fun - One of the best I've ever had. Smokey, charred noodles perfectly cooked with a slight bite. Saucy but not soggy. Seriously one of the best in the world imo (at least that night). Had a really good feed here - most of the menu is actually pretty good. Expect $40pp Please follow @trebzheng for more Toronto and travel eats :)

King's Thai Cuisine #2 is a late-night spot that offers classic, quick-serve Thai dishes in a simple dining space. It's part of the King of Thai restaurant group and has been a go-to for many over the years. The service is described as gracious, with consistent quality in their Pad Thai and crab fried rice. Customers have enjoyed returning after several years and finding that the duck fried rice still maintains its deliciousness.
Great food and service! We got chicken satay, fried chicken over fried rice and pad kee-mao. Food was tasty and good value for money. Definitely recommend!
Shaili J — Google review
Nice, clean Thai spot. We ordered the duck salad, crab fried rice, and panang curry with pork. The duck salad came out right away, but not enough greens. Decent portion of duck, but would be nice to not run out of cabbage or lettuce. The panang curry was mild in flavor, not the usual panang curry I had in other places. Crab salad was our favorite. Three dishes for two people, with a little bit of leftover. The menu is extensive. I would come back to try other items, like the noodle soup.
My N — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying King's Thai after a friend recommended highly, but to be honest, I'd found everything that came out of the kitchen - including even the Thai iced tea - to be disappointing. Since it was my first time, I stayed with some basics: som tum, pad see ew and pineapple fried rice. The som tum was... fine. Not sliced thinly enough and the flavor didn't hit as I am used to. The pad see ew was also adequate - probably the best of the three dishes but nothing spectacular. And the pineapple fried rice was bland. Even the Thai iced tea was watered down in its flavor, so this place is lucky to even get three stars from me. The service was good - absolutely no complaints there. We were served immediately, and the server got the order (which had some particular twists) 100% right. Frankly put: in a place like San Francisco, you could throw a rock and hit three Thai places with better food than this.

Was craving for some Thai so I found this spot on Google. A lot of the Thai places in the city open around 5. Glad this one was open. Not too busy as I came in for a late lunch early dinner. Got the pad gra pow and tom yum. Service was very friendly. Food came out quick. Huge bowl of tom yum. Perfectly seasoned. The shrimp was a little over cooked. Lots of mushrooms as I like it. Hot and fresh. So good! The gra pow was good. I think it could’ve used more flavor like garlic, onions and black pepper. was on the sweet side and felt like it was missing something. Either way good meal and will return to try other items.

Good Thai food that will get the job done. Service was good and location great. Not the best Thai I've had but cannot complain at all. I'd give a 4.5 stars if I could.

Left me with a great impression. Chicken satay was meaty and super juicy. Mango sticky rice was awesome. Rice is made with pandan and has just the right amount of salt (taste) to balance the sweetness of the coconut milk and mango. I’d come back to try more of their menu and when I have a bigger appetite. Staff are kind and very welcoming too!

Nestled in the Outer Sunset, Sunset Reservoir Brewing Company is a vibrant two-story tavern that invites you to unwind after a long week. With its airy atmosphere and modern design, this spot features cozy booths and tables perfect for gatherings with friends or family. The massive "BEER" marquee sets the tone for an enjoyable experience where you can indulge in their house-brewed beers, including unique options like the floral Outside Lands kolsch and seasonal favorites such as the Autumn Beer pumpkin ale.
Street parking only. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere has a cool and unpretentious vibe. The bartender was helpful and friendly. He took his time in explaining the beer flight I got. I had lunch before coming to this place, so I only tried their home fries. It was delicious. All the beers I drank were very drinkable. I love their porter the most.

Great place. Food was amazing. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the pork tacos. Both were great. We had the Stout and pilsner beer which was also very good. Friendly wait staff, definitely a younger crowd. Nice upstairs with another smaller bar.

Every time I've visited this place the food has been excellent and the beers on tap have been delicious. I've gotten burgers mostly, and the garlic fries are top notch with fresh grated garlic. The chicken taco appetizer pictured here was great and disappeared quickly. There is also a full bar for those looking to tie one on. This is a restaurant so families are welcome with lots of comfortable seating across the two levels. The best part is that it is not too dear, and the establishment is right in the neighborhood. Will definitely visit again.

This is a gem in the city. The fried brussel sprouts were a highlight. Great selection of unique beers. I got the Cucumber Gose. 2 floors with TVs on the main floor and a projector for the top floor. Great for sports games at the bar or booth. I wish the TVs were a bit bigger though.

This is one of Sunsets best dining locations that serves great beer with food that matches…maybe even is superior depending on what you ordered. Great park-let and attentive staff that are super friendly. Definitely a must if you’re out in the sunset looking for a great meal.

Wonderful place for beer, bites and catching up with big sister. Awesome, friendly staff. We ordered a couple craft beers, big bowl of wings, Caesar salad. Food was delicious and beer smooth and perfect for a weekday afternoon. It was a nice, sunny day and the outdoor seating was where we wanted to be... Cheers!

Great food, great beer, great cocktails! This awesome brewery is tucked away in the outer sunset, which makes it a bit far from other neighborhoods in SF. But its definitely worth getting out to! The brunch is absolutely amazing. They have a great selection, something for everyone, and it's all amazing. And they serve biscuits from Devil's Teeth bakery! Yum! Dinner is just as great. Your expected brewery food with an upscale twist! There is a large parklet outside and a huge indoor space, with 2 floors. Great if you have a large party!

Nestled along Bayview's main street, Old Skool Cafe is a unique nonprofit supper club that transports you back to the 1940s with its stylish decor and vibrant atmosphere. This remarkable establishment is not just about delicious global soul food; it’s a transformative space run entirely by at-risk and formerly incarcerated youth. Founded by Teresa Goines, who sought to break the cycle of poverty and incarceration, Old Skool Cafe provides invaluable job training and professional experience for its young staff.
True gem in SF - get transported to 1920s speakeasy w live music and superb southern style menu dishes. Stunning chandeliers & decorations for a supper club experience you will not forget. Highly recommend the New Orleans style BBQ Jerk shrimp w crostini as a Starter and the fried chicken and/or short rib entrees. Staff are friendly efficient and will make you feel like part of the family. Great selection of mocktails as well as wine and cocktails menu. Will be back again soon.

Ambiance is great but the live music from the upper terrance can to be a loud contrast, a mixture of soft and upbeat music could be better. My chicken was far too salty possibly being brined then seasoned with salty spices hence the 3 stars. Rarely drinks can be off so you need the sharp senses of your palate. The young people there are wonderful, extremely well-groomed and you will find them deserving of your patronage and gratuity. Upstairs is a must see victorian parlor like begging you to step back into time. Old School is a pleasant surprise that delights the eyes, palate and hearing. It's a remarkable and beautiful reminiscent speakeasy! Visit them, you will return. Be mindful that the wonderful staff have lives and need rest but they can't leave til all diners have exited the restaurant. Ria likes this place!

First time in SF and it was a great way to end the Mother’s Day trip. I love the mission and purpose of OSC but the food and ambience made me love it even more! I had the Peanut Butter Stew and it was packed with flavor! Date cake for dessert was so delicious. I wanted to try everything on the menu!

Yes. Everything about this place. The vibe. The jazz music. The incredible food. The Zoot-suited staff. The story behind it. It’s all exceptional. Do NOT sleep on this place. Seriously, do not. For drinks, I highly recommend their French 75 and the Sidecar. For starters, the flaky catfish and the brussel sprouts. For Mains, the pork chop or the fried chicken. And for dessert, either the date cake or the lavender cheesecake.

Exceptional food and service. I especially enjoyed the live jazz band. I hope everyone gets to experience Old Skool Cafe. Highly recommend the Tongan Oto appetizer. Gumbo was also fire. The last time I came, I had the fried chicken. The food does not disappoint! Vibes were 10/10.
Kayla F — Google review
The food here was overall fantastic, with the peanut butter stew easily stealing the show—it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The brussels sprouts were another pleasant surprise, crispy on the outside and full of flavor. The restaurant has a cozy, lively atmosphere that’s made even better by the addition of live music, which really sets the mood. However, the seating arrangement could use a little adjustment since most tables face away from the performers, making it tricky to fully enjoy the show. Still, between the great food, friendly service, and upbeat energy, it’s a spot I’d happily visit again.

Dining with purpose, excellent high-brow soul food menu reflecting the diversities of local communities in Bayview-Hunters Point. Movie-set level, speakeasy interior. Velvet curtains, chandeliers and booth seating. Great for parties and celebrating a nice occasion with friends or colleagues.

Incredible experience here! The service was on point and the servers were so friendly and attentive! We ordered appetizers and listened to live jazz and it was the perfect environment with a cozy, elegant atmosphere!! we really appreciated how well cooked the shrimp was and how spicy the sauce was with abundance of flavor!! The crostinis were delicious and the server graciously offered to bring us more when she realized that we had to run out! This is more than just a restaurant. This is an entire community mutual aid fund. You are supporting to care for the broader wellness of youth and empower those to break the cycle of incarceration & poverty!!! Moshi Moshi is a charming Japanese eatery located in Dogpatch, offering classic dishes like sushi and soba. The restaurant features a lovely outdoor patio with limited tables, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere for diners. The owner, Mitsuru Mits Akashi, fulfilled his dream of serving Nihon-centric cuisine alongside finely crafted cocktails.
The whiskey flights, the high quality of fish served here, the chill heated patio. Nothing about this spot id want to change. Add in the fact that the prices are super reasonable…. It’s probably my favorite ‘low key’ sushi spot in the 7x7. Highly recommend the Uni. Cheers!

Solid neighborhood Japanese, with a little something for everybody — a wide selection of hot and cold appetizers, nigiri, rolls, noodle soups and classic entrees. Though maybe not a culinary destination, a fashionable local option frequented by Dogpatch regulars. Outdoor patio seating. Dog-friendly, inside and out. Soft Shell Crab Katsu, crunchy breadcrumb deep fry served with Japanese tartar sauce — satisfying comfort. Squash Blossom Tempura — a novel seasonal specialty, the batter, more beer batter. Shrimp Dumplings — top choice. Hamachi Kama, chargrilled yellowtail collar — excellent. Chicken Udon — solid delivery. Sun Dragon Roll, though good, the shrimp tempura batter was not as lightly crisp as hoped, the rice slightly densely packed. Inari with Wasabi special — clever and sweet. Selection of nigiri sushi, does the trick, but not life-changing. Great as a small dish izakaya, with Japanese whiskey flights a novelty.

I had a casual meal here at the bar on a Monday night. It was not busy, but also did have a constant stream of customers. It is tucked away from the busy area on a quiet corner on the 3rd street. Great little Mexican place. It’s definitely California fusion and it’s not as spicy as some authentic places. It is very flavorful though. The folks here are super nice and provide quick service. These were some of the prettiest tacos I’ve ever had. Not only did they look pretty, they tasted amazing! We had the pulled chicken and shrimp tacos, both insanely good and juicy. This is obviously more modern vs tradition tacos but I usually don’t have a preference as long as they’re good. They also gave us their spiciest sauce to try which was like crack to me. Overall, super solid spot that I’ll definitely look to return to so I can try to everything else!

Let the first line of my review, be all you need when deciding whether to patron Chisme Catina SF; ITS THE BEST MEXICAN CUISINE {Hands Down} In San Francisco. Now, I know, that’s high praise, because SF is a foodie city and has a rich cultural history for Mexican and Latino cuisine. Chisme sets itself apart from other restaurants because of the: (a) Quality of food, (b) Unique and healthy variety, (3) Sangrias, and (4) Quality of staff and leadership. I had the opportunity to interact with one of the managers at Chisme, Maria, and she is the ABSOLUTE BEST. In addition to the amazing food and drink choices, the quality of personnel at any business, is of the utmost importance. Feeling cared for in addition to leaving satisfied is what makes Chisme one of SF’s best kept secrets. Now, everything on the menu is good, but, the Shrimp Burrito / Taco is the BOMB! The portions are generous and quality of the ingredients are unmatched. I had the Shrimp Burrito, Chips and Guacamole, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. Now, what makes this even better, especially for Vegans / Vegetarians, are the jack fruit tacos. Yes, you read that right, jack fruit tacos. This place has everything and is worth a try. Also, if you’re looking for a job, Chisme Is Hiring!

RM 212 is a cozy spot with a modern interior, offering a delightful array of diverse flavors and culinary creativity in the form of bar food. The Breakfast Baos with pork belly, egg, and cheese were satisfying, while the kimchi tater tots provided a crispy delight with flavorful toppings. The menu features tantalizing options such as pastrami egg rolls, salt and pepper wings, walnut shrimp, mini pigs in a blanket, and chopped cheese empanadas.
Definitely a gem in the heart of SF fidi! Patrick’s cocktail program is phenomenal - ask for his favorite off the menu 😉. The prime burger topped with gouda is a perfect duo with a thin decadent brioche. Ask Ricky for best special items on the munchie menu.

This is the place you want. Max capacity of maybe 15, leading to an atmosphere of an intimate speakeasy. Patrick and Lydia were our bartenders and they made the entire experience the best we've ever had. For anyone interested in mixology, or the art behind cocktail making, Patrick is knowledgeable and passionate in that area and made for a wonderful conversation. This is not a bar to get drunk and do shots of fireball. Which is absolutely perfect for us.

Originally came here for the speed dating event which was exceptional. Came back for cocktails and excellent service. This place is exceedingly friendly, the cocktails are well balanced yet dynamic. 2nd visit was on a Karoke night and I had a blast. Found myself singing with this 60+ year old drummer named Doug. Dude knew every song and it was a riot. Gene, one of the owners treated me to a shot of baijiu. He's a dedicated professional and works diligently to make everyone happy. The bartenders Kat, Patrick, Youngji, and Max make insanely well composed drinks. Never too sweet, or citric, always have something extra that breaks from the mundane recipe they may be riffing off of. I can safely say they're both honoring the "classics", but also evolving them. Notch the chef is always on point. His food easily matches the high end cocktails served. His boudin balls are fire, and the "executive" is some of the best late night food I've had. Ricky is hilarious, a classy professional, and elevates the environment deeply. He also has some of the best recommendations for food in Chinatown. Patrick's Jungle Bird is ahead of it's time and should be studied. Bartenders should make pilgrimages to try it and the Eeyore's Requiem. Kat is the queen of agave. She's also very motherly for a bartender and ensures that everyone's being kind to her, each other, and that the smiles continue throughout the night. Her drinks are incredible, complex, and always go down quickly. Youngji's a wildcard. She made me the best Aviation i've had so far as a dealers choice. She also bravery delves into extremely complicated drink recipes with precision. I'm often quite surprised how she takes delicate ingredient's and doesn't crush them other overpowering flavors. I've only had Max's drinks once but they were beyond what I expected from a seasoned SF vet. Many OG craft folks have let their torch extinguish and have stopped trying at the bars of high reputation. Max seems like the guy who just keeps grinding despite his industry peers falling off in total effort. He also has great bar recommendations that I look forward to exploring. Room 212 quickly became my most frequented bar in SF. It epitomizes what hospitality should be and naturally is to them, unpretentious, dedicated, non judgmental, guiding those less seniored to make great food and drink decisions, a melting pot of folks of all political leanings, races, but with unifying principles binding them all. The average 212 customers are some of the hardest working people in the area. That also have enough glow and charisma to desire a very insightful conversation. Truly a heart and hub of the city. One that all the owners, staff, and community members that enjoy it can be proud of.

Loved this place. Came here for friend's engagement happy hour. Ordered beef bulgogi nachos, chicken wings, & corn fritters with sake shots. Foods are so flavorful especially spicy wings. My friends loved the sake shots. Great customer services. The menu for dinner is only small tapas. This place is more like drinking bar at night. If you are looking for dinner, this is not for you. Our experience at RM 212 was a delightful feast of diverse flavors and culinary creativity in bar food form. We embarked on a culinary adventure starting with the tantalizing pastrami egg rolls and crispy salt and pepper wings, both bursting with savory goodness. The walnut shrimp offered a perfect blend of light airy crunch and succulence, while the mini pigs in a blanket were delectable bite-sized treats. The chopped cheese empanadas were nice and flaky with a flavorful, cheesy beef. The BEC (bacon egg cheese) pierogies was a nice snackable breakfast in pierogi form. The chicken tamales reminded me of the sticky rice you get at dim sum. Finally, we indulged in the heavenly NY cheesecake bites, a sweet ending that left us craving for more. Our group ordered some of the featured cocktails such as the Yuzu lemon drop, Korean Mule, and Nutella espresso martini. RM 212 impressed us with their inventive menu and skillful execution, making it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts seeking a memorable and diverse dining experience.

Dumpling Home is a vibrant and casual restaurant located in Hayes Valley, offering a variety of dumplings including fried, steamed, and boiled options, as well as noodles and small plates. Despite opening in 2020, it has quickly gained recognition and made it to the Michelin Bib Gourmand list in 2021.
Went on a thursday night. Expect a wait if you come after 6:30 pm, they don't seat you until you have the full party. That said, service was really quick once we sat down. We ordered the pork and beef pan-fried dumplings, pork xiao long bao, sauteed grean beans, cucumber, and the Zha Jiang noodles. Everything was really good. My favorite was the pan-fried dumplings, as I've never had that before. Just be careful as it does squirt everywhere if you bite into it. I liked the pork better than the beef dumpling. The cucumber was fresh, although I didn't really taste the garlic sauce. The xiao long bao was great, and the meat and sauce were very flavorful. Although personally, I thought they were on the bigger side. I prefer XLB that has an equal meat to pastry ratio. The green beans were perfectly crunchy. For 6 dishes, tea and 1 beer, we paid ~$120 including tips. This is a good portion for 3 people. Would definitely come back again.

Dumpling Home offers authentic and delicious Chinese food that truly impressed me. The soup dumplings were outstanding — they held all the flavorful broth without breaking, which is a challenge even for restaurants in China. The small bites were refreshing, tasty, and full of variety. Despite the lunch rush, the business ran smoothly with efficient service. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to almost every dumpling spot in SF (my wife’s a big fan 😂), so I’d say I’ve got a decent benchmark. This place is solid, definitely good, but not the best in the city. The standout for me was the spicy pork soup dumpling, full of flavor and perfectly done. The sesame boiled dumpling was also above average. But the spicy beef boiled dumpling didn’t quite hit the mark, bland and forgettable. Be ready for a wait, there’s usually a line and it can take 20–30 minutes to get seated. Overall, worth trying, but I wouldn’t call it a top dumpling destination.

The food was absolutely delicious and came out super fast. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The beer was really good too! It does get a little loud since the place stays busy, but that just shows how popular it is. You might not linger long, but every bite is worth it. I really enjoyed my visit!

The must try….is pan fried dumplings. The crust was quite unique. The other dishes are just as good but I feel you can get them at other restaurants. They are busy so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

This place was amazing! My daughter loves dumplings and bao but oddly enough i had never had them. This would be my first time trying! We ordered the pan fried juicy pork bao, pork and crab soup bao, fresh shrimp with shrimp paste noodles and the fresh cucumber with garlic sauce. The vibe of the place was all good and positive! It felt so laid back and welcoming. It was super clean and smelled amazing! There was a bit of a wait but that’s because it was packed and there was a long line of people ahead of us. It was good because they had plugs so after walking and riding scooters all day in the city we were able to charge our phones while there which is a major plus for us tourist! That pan fried juicy pork bao was popular as it was on every single table so we had to try it! The food came out reasonably quickly and our server and the staff were super nice and friendly. I had seen videos of this spot on tiktok raving about how great this place was…And it did not disappoint!!! THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! All of it! There was nothing i would really change. The soup bao was my absolute favorite while my daughters enjoyed the ever so popular juicy pan fried bao. Those cucumbers were divine. Honestly i could eat those all day long. My daughter describes this as the best she’s ever had. Highly recommend! Absolutely enjoyed the food and service here. No concerns. Plus i got to try a new food that i absolutely ended up loving. When I came back to Houston, the first thing i did was find a noodle and dumpling spot. Theirs was ok but after having this place i may not find another spot this good!

This and daeho are top 2 restaurants in SF. Dumplings and baos are already one of the best foods in the world and somehow Dumpling Home has further elevated them. Dumplings are such a treat for me, but I rarely get them because my wife isn't a huge fan. So, when my son and I caught a show at Davies Symphony Hall, we walked a couple blocks to try Dumpling Home. Wow! They were terrific!! The service was fast and friendly, the price was reasonable, the interior was clean and unpretentious, and the food was some of the best I've had in a decade. We ordered the hot and sour soup (delish!), the Numb & Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao (the ABSOLUTE standout here!), the fried pork wontons (great!), the pork and vegetable pot stickers (solid), and the curry lamb dumplings (unique and savory!). In short, a terrific and wonderful experience. I see what all the fuss is about, and I can't wait to come back!

I got the smash burger and it was not so great. The fries taste good and rich as in the actual potato content, not too thinly cut. The wings are good too. Overall, I recommend the fries and the wings, though the sauce is just regular sauce like we would see at any restaurant. Would not recommend the burger though, the meat are just overly cooked that some parts were hard to bite

Now the service has a really really great high and a really great Low. They missed up the order, but went above and beyond to correct it just to still get it halfway wrong by overly archiving to correct the mistake … turned a honest mistake into a great customer service experience although!!! And that’s honestly why I gave them a 4/5 if they wasn’t for the great staff, trying hard to correct everything it would have been a lower score. I appreciate tha customer service tonight. Got the double sin burger and double original. Burgers are pretty delicious, reminds me of mcdonalds if you like that beefy flavour. The smash fries are SO good... whatever oily stuff they put on it adds a great flavour. Service was a bit slow and they forgot my 2nd patty. It was fixed pretty quickly though. Leave your tray and stuff on the table when you're done. This place is a weird mix of fast food and normal restaurant.

First visit to Smashburger. Good selection and food was fresh and tasty. Sweet potato fries were excellent. Minus one star for the cost of two 'Fast food' meals (see pic). Not sure how West Coast residents survive on such high costs of gas, food, etc. Nice place to visit, but give me the Midwest for moderate prices.

Something went wrong with my order if I prefer McDonald's over this. Ordered on Doordash and it came in a timely manner (~30mins) but somehow all the burgers were cold. Maybe burgers just get cold fast. When I opened the wrappers, the burgers looked flat and unappetizing. Do they assemble the burgers and then smash them? I ordered the Spicy Baja with Guac Burger. There were crispy salty bits that taste like bacon stuck all around the bottom bun. Are they supposed to be the grilled onions or the grill scraps? All three burgers in my order were so salty. The patty is not an authentic smash burger. Smash burgers are thin and crispy. These patties taste are ordinary patties from any fast food restaurant. There's nothing special so I'd rather go somewhere else.

Great burger and fries! I got the brisket bacon burger and large smash fries. The burger was excellent with well cooked patty, good quality buns, and real bacon. The only part lacking was the brisket. Meat was there but it was tough and disappointing, would probably opt for a regular double next time. Fries are also delicious, fresh, and crispy. The seasoning they put on the smash fries are subtle but add a lot of depth. Was the fries worth $5? I don’t really think so. I think that price needs to come down a couple dollars. Solid experience overall

The Golden Gate Tap Room is a spacious and retro-themed venue in downtown, offering an extensive selection of over 100 beers, with 60 on tap. It's a perfect spot for beer enthusiasts and sports fans, boasting more than 30 screens for game watching. The lively atmosphere makes it ideal for happy hour gatherings and accommodating large groups. In addition to the diverse drink options, visitors can enjoy various games such as pool, foosball, shuffleboard, and skee ball.
It may seem like a crazy unorthodox thing to say, but this "Tap Room" is our place for the best "Beef Birria Tacos" in the inner city of San Francisco, that I know! Unfortunately, you can only purchase these tacos on Tuesdays for their "Tacos Tuesdays" specials! We are not really beer drinkers, but this place serves some of the best favorable ciders as well! Whenever we are in the city, around Union Square, we must stop by...especially on a Tuesday! Try it for yourself! The atmosphere is fun and filled with games to play and big screens to watch sports. Also, try their "Happy Hour" it is great too!

Fun casual place, no frizz. Great tacos. Bartenders friendly. Very laid back atmosphere. Younger audience. Warning, need to go up a lot of stairs, but it’s nice once you are in. Security guys at the entrance are very friendly.

I love that you can show up just as you are—it’s such a laid-back, no-pressure vibe. Whether you’re there to watch the game or just unwind on your own, it’s a great space for either. They’re generous with the wine pours too, and it’s not just about the beer—the local wines are surprisingly good.

I love this bar. It has a great selection of drinks and food. The service is friendly and enjoyable. But the TV is a bit too loud(for me).

We stopped by here for a quick snack and to kill some time before our next reservation. The place is much bigger than I expected, especially when looking from the outside. This is a spacious sports bar with games to keep you occupied. We had some carne asada fries and a pepperoni pizza. The carne asada fries were a good appetizer. The pizza was decent but smaller than I expected. The staff was friendly and made sure we had what we needed.

⭐☆☆☆☆ I really wanted to like Golden Gate Tap Room—the gaming atmosphere looked like a lot of fun. But after reading the “seat yourself, a server is on staff” sign, I sat at a table and waited… and waited. Twenty minutes went by with zero acknowledgment from anyone. Not a single server came by to take an order or even say hello. To make matters worse, the stairs leading up to the space felt sketchy and not very structurally sound. It didn’t feel safe, and it definitely didn’t feel welcoming. Needless to say, I left. Disappointing experience from a place that had potential.

A great spot to watch the game, play games, and get your drink on. We had a great time shooting baskets (Karen secured the record) and enjoying a few pints. We’re all from different spots (Michigan, New Mexico, Dubai, and Croatia) and enjoyed our experience. Warning: be prepared to walk up steps to get to the bar!

7 Mile House Sports Bar & Grill is a historic family-owned establishment that has been serving American and Filipino dishes for over a century. The bar offers a spacious outdoor area, making it a safe dining option post-COVID. In the evenings, local bands perform live music, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The generous portions of Filipino specialties like sisig and arroz caldo are particularly popular among patrons. Despite being busy, the service is efficient and attentive.
I finally got a chance to eat at seven mile house. Took my mom there for Mother’s Day and the customer service was great. The food is amazing and what a great place to get something to eat. If you’re looking for a good restaurant, then you wanna check out 7 mile house. Let them know that Pastor Dre sent you.

Great service and attentiveness. The waiter brought everything quickly and was communicative on menu options. Sisig was decent, and I will come back to try it w nachos. The best thing was the expresso martini and the sweet chili wings.

Looks like a bar. But it’s not only a bar, it’s also a restaurant serving very good food. Like Asian fusion cuisine. However, for those burger lovers, they serve huge burgers. We had tried their 7 miles burger. Huge and good. I also tried their pasta(fettuccine Alfredo with chicken) with sweet potatoes fries. It was so good. We also tried their lumpia.. yummy. Update: 07/20/2025 Decided to come to 7 miles since we haven’t been here in a little bit. We ordered to share: lumpia combo and sweet potatoes fries. We each othered: Grilled Salmon, Grilled basa, their famous burger, Fish tacos, adobo and cioppino. For drinks: whiskey sour, beer on the tap, and manila mule. Food and drinks was awesome. Of course their service was amazing but now my new favorite is the assorted lumpia. I would definitely come back.

great place to bring the dogs and the service was amazing. The food is just ok, could use more salt probably in all the dishes we had. However the drinks were amazing and my dogs loved their chicken. parking is a little sketch so don’t leave anything in the car! (can be said about all of the bay area)

It's my 50th birthday trip and my first stop after checking into the hotel was 7 Mile House Sports Bar & Grill in Brisbane, just over the line from San Francisco. I was questioning it a little, only because of the outdoor appearance, but I had no clue of the history and how great the food would be. The 4.5 Google rating didn't give the location enough justice. The menu is a bold mash-up of Filipino, Italian, and American classics—a genuine reflection of local tastes and heritage. We had just arrived to the area, so we kept the selections light. Must-tries include: Pork and Chicken Lumpia Sole Fish Sandwich The Famous 7 Mile Burger The energy is relaxed, communal, and undeniably fun. Whomever is in charge of the music playlist, they know great music. We were there from about an hour, and we heard so many great classic from the 70s-the late 90s of R&B music!

The fried calamari is absolutely incredible! The Cioppino is thick and delicious. The BAR is awesome and the drinks are on point. The staff is friendly and super fast. We went for the Pork Adobo and disappointed to say the least but we also ordered the other dishes and they made up the difference. Overall a very cool spot for a stop, just a little pricey for what you get.

Nestled in the heart of San Francisco, Hard Knox Cafe has been a beloved destination for Southern comfort food since 1999. With its funky and welcoming atmosphere, this eatery draws locals and visitors alike, often resulting in a wait to get a taste of their homestyle dishes. The menu boasts mouthwatering options like crispy fried chicken served atop fluffy buttermilk waffles drizzled with syrup—a true indulgence that’s hard to resist.
I came in on a drizzly day, wanting a burger. Mission accomplished. My burger was really good! I needed to get some work done and they let me sit in my booth for as long as I’d liked because it wasn’t as busy at the time. I stayed so long and watched other people’s food come out of the kitchen, as well as the delicious smell that I ordered a piece of chicken and a side of greens and cornbread. It was yummy! I will definitely be back because they had a good menu selection, the service was great, and the atmosphere was cozy.

Hard Knox Cafe is amazing! The service was amazing, the atmosphere was nice, giving down home vibes w/music just loud enough to talk and enjoy. We had the Cajun Shrimp Balls, Spicy Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, Macaroni, Greens, Yams, Red Beans & Rice and Beignets. All food was good and portions were plenty. Our waitress was so kind, service infused with love! Bomb 10/10, would recommend !

I have been here a couple times, funny thing was I never knew about this place when I used to be a student at a nearby school. The place is pretty compact so waits are pretty normal, but that does not bother me since I have high patience. Well trained and friendly staffs made my visits very enjoyable. The food here is made from scratch so it’s always worth the wait. They offer many delicious and unique southern fusion dishes. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to try something new or just love to eat since it’s not one of those hyped up spots. Definitely will be back!

I was visiting my nephew’s family from out of town last week. We visiting this popular neighborhood diner last Saturday and it did not disappoint! We agreed to meet for breakfast. My nephew has a nearly two year old and we wanted to meet at a place where we could enjoy a hearty brunch that was comfortable and reasonably priced. Hard Knox checked all the boxes and then some. It was a charming cafe in an obviously family friendly neighborhood. It had great vibes and we immediately felt right at home. My husband and I both ordered the Hard Knox omelette and loved it! Fresh ingredients, savory and satisfying! The coffee was excellent and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was welcoming and thoughtful. She knew our nephew’s family and made us feel right at home.

An outstanding southern comfort eatery deep in the Richmond. You’re definitely leaving with the “itis” after eating here. Very good portions at reasonable prices served in a family friendly environment. Number one is going have to go to the smothered pork chop, excellent. A close second is the blackened catfish, suggested by our waiter. Delicious. The fried chicken had a wonderful flavor to it. Successful. The sides all delivered as promised and the corn muffins were awesome. This is definitely a place for gatherings and families. Dos thumbs up 👍👍

Little Skillet is a popular spot in SoMa that offers classic chicken and waffles, along with specialty cocktails and a jazz brunch, creating a hip vibe. The restaurant started as an alleyway walk-up window, known for its irresistible scent of fried food and vibrant atmosphere. In 2014, it expanded to include a bar counter at Victory Hall & Parlor next door for indoor dining options.
Happen to come across this joint on my way to the Giants game. If you're looking for a soul food with character, great music, and downright delicious eats, Little Skillet is a must-visit. Tucked away near Oracle Park, this hidden gem serves up Southern classics that hit all the right notes. The biscuits? Buttery and flakey perfection served with honey butter. The blackened shrimp with grits was flavorful, and balanced. The fried shrimp with mashed potatoes? A combo that's both indulgent and deeply satisfying. And the fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and everything you'd hope for from a true Southern kitchen. Little Skillet delivers big on taste, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this hole-in-the-wall is worth seeking out. Highly recommend!

I recently visited The Little Skillet in San Francisco with my mom and sweetheart, and it was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food was nothing short of fantastic—crispy fried chicken, perfectly seasoned grits, melt-in-your-mouth cornbread, and indulgent chicken and waffles that hit every note. My sweetheart’s shrimp and grits and my mom’s catfish were equally delicious, showcasing the restaurant’s mastery of Southern comfort food. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming vibe. Whether you’re with family or on a date, The Little Skillet is the perfect spot for soul-satisfying meals and an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend!
Lo S — Google review
Don't be fooled by the good picture I took! I came to Little Skillet with high hopes. A spot serving Black American comfort food? Count me in. After years of avoiding fried chicken here in the States, I thought this might finally be the place to break that streak. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The fried chicken was a major letdown—bland, under-seasoned, and tasting mostly of old oil. Not the soulful, flavorful bite I was expecting. I also tried the collard greens for the first time, but they didn’t win me over either; aside from an overcooked jalapeño thrown in, they lacked depth and character. The grits didn’t help matters, plain, with an odd hard crust in the middle that made for an unpleasant surprise. Service was another disappointment: it took long just to place an order, and the wait for the food felt like a 5 business days wait. Considering the high prices, the whole experience simply wasn’t worth it. For real soul food, I’ll hold out until my next trip back to New Orleans.
Hamidah R — Google review
I was looking for a good soul food restaurant in San Francisco, but this wasn’t it. Their restaurant is super cute, however the food was lack luster. The fried chicken was fried well, but lacked seasoning and flavor. The mac and cheese had breadcrumbs on top and that should have been a sign. My boyfriend had shrimp and grits and that was very disappointing. The grits had no flavor and they just put canned tomatoes on top instead of making a sauce or a rue. It wasn’t busy in the restaurant, however the service was very slow. We ordered our food using Toast, but the waiter came over to tell us that he had a big party on the other side and we may not see him for awhile. I watched my overly sweetened sweet tea sit on the counter for awhile and just when I was about to go pick it up, another waiter brought it over. Nobody really came over to check on us. I had to ask several times for a to-go box and a bag. I won’t be returning.
Fallon C — Google review
Came here with a friend before going to watch Lady Gaga. First off this is not a good place to bring a first date. Music way to loud, can't hear. My friends waffle was undercooked, though they did replace it, but didn't offer us anything. Fryer oil needs to be changed. Fried chicken was good, but too dark, and tasted burnt. Their mac and cheese tasted like it was reheated in a microwave and had a weird taste. The little biscuits were cold and dry. My fried paid with a credit card and the waiter forgot to return the card, but brought it after. I don't recommend this place.
Chef T — Google review
I had high hopes walking into this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience left me wondering what exactly people are raving about. The chicken was completely unseasoned bland to the point of being forgettable. The syrup had an odd, almost artificial flavor that didn’t pair well with anything on the plate. The cornbread? Tiny and dry, with a taste that was outright unpleasant. I’ve had better from a box mix, and that’s saying something. Speaking of boxed foods, the waffles didn’t even resemble waffles in taste or texture. Honestly, I’d prefer some frozen Eggo waffles over whatever that was. The macaroni and cheese, usually a soul food staple, was the final straw. I was tempted to say it tasted like KFC’s, but that would’ve been an insult to KFC. The prices are outrageous for what you get, and the overall vibe just didn’t feel authentic. There wasn’t a single soul food flavor in sight, and surprisingly, the only Black person I saw during the visit was the bartender. It felt less like a soul food experience and more like a poorly executed imitation. And not to mention, they played no authentic black music, very odd for a soul food place. And with the lack of black people, the watermelon felt… racist? Odd? Save your money and try another spot. This place is all hype and no heart.
Aaliyah R — Google review
A horrible strong smell of bad fish when we walked in the door should have been enough reason…. But the place was so cute the deco and “vibe” were amazing…. Duped definitely duped. All three in my party ordered the works. One with Mac n cheese, one with grits and the other french fries. Mac and cheese was spoiled grits were sour and the waffle batter was right along those lines of definitely going to make someone sick! Brought to the attention of the server/manager who did not even remove the dishes from in front of us but proceeded to ask if we wanted to try something else or have our items remade. We politely declined he left to inform the kitchen and came back with more food anyways…. That was still spoiled!!!! Everything was left on the table he could have cared less we didn’t eat and we’re still handed the check for $82. My friends who were buying lunch are a big blessing for this place cuz they actually paid the bill before we got up and walked out….. beware!!! Quite a few good reviews but not any too recently please don’t eat here!
Lesley G — Google review
The atmosphere and staff are nice but this restaurant is a disgrace to “soul food”. It’s so terribly bland and finding out it’s not even black owned isn’t surprising because of the food. If you want better chicken and waffles go to cracked and battered or Brenda’s soul food.

Restaurant
Manna is a popular Korean restaurant in San Francisco's Richmond and Sunset neighborhoods, offering classic Korean dishes at affordable prices. The cozy spot is known for its homestyle classics such as bubbling tofu stew, sizzling barbecue plates, and generous portions of japchae. Despite the tight seating, the welcoming atmosphere and kind staff make it a favorite among locals and tourists. The menu features a wide selection of traditional Korean fare, including tender marinated meats, flavorful kimchi, and savory appetizers.
Manna was outstanding. We came for dinner on a Wednesday night around 7 and the place was packed. We only had to wait about 5 minutes. Everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend Manna. I would rate everything 5/5 but the Seafood dol-sot bibimbap was probably my favorite. Haven’t been to a restaurant that I have enjoyed this much in a long time.
Matt Q — Google review
Manna is indubitably, one of the best Korean restaurants in San Francisco. They are widely popular in this inner sunset neighbourhood, and you’ll always see a crowd or a queue waiting for a table. The wait times are usually 20 to 30 minutes during peak hours. Unfortunately, we had to sit outside, and it was kind of chilly, although the heater was turned on, but the food was really good. We loved the kimchi fried rice, the chicken wings were amazing too, very juicy and tender. The free sides of vegetables like broccoli, radish, and kimchi, were really good. The service was nice. The waiters were really kind and trying their best to help us out. However, I feel like there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of the seating arrangement because it was a little cramped up. Would love to visit again and try out more of their food items.

Stopped by for some lunch while walking though the area and was positively surprised. The atmosphere inside is very inviting, definitely on the livelier side, but you can comfortably talk across a table. Food was excellent, and the banchan were equally very good. Service is a little bit scattered, but food came out quick!

The food was excellent good and I love it! We received very poor service from a woman with short hair and a hat. Despite leaving an 18% tips, she sighed at us in a disrespectful manner. It made us feel discriminated against, which was extremely disappointing.

Affordable and delicious Korean food with fast service, great taste, and good portions. Their Korean seafood pancake was really tasty, and their dolsot bibimbap had fresh ingredients. They provide fresh kimchi as part of their banchan and offer free refills. The dining space inside is rather tight with ~10 tables, but they also have a few 2-person outdoor dining tables. There is a paper waitlist on the back of the door.
James — Google review
We tried the bibimbap and kimchi pancake! Both were fine. Loved the atmosphere of this place and the staff were friendly. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated indoors on a Sunday for lunch and by the time we left there was a long line!

I dined in for lunch with my thirteen month old. It had been awhile since I’ve been here and while the food was still very solid (lunch special galbi and japchae) after the meal was done I unfortunately noticed a rat/mouse dropping on the window sill where we were seated. This was truly disappointing and disturbing. You can see it in the background of the photo I cropped. I pointed this out to the server and her response was just “oh sorry.” It didn’t seem like she took it too seriously, so I won’t be back. I definitely don’t want to see that during my meal, especially if my baby is seated so close to the window and it’s within reach. I wished I had noticed before we ate, but we were both hungry.

Slow cocktail staff who seemed to always be annoyed you're ordering a drink. Food staff is the extreme exact opposite. Food is typical sports bar food. Nothing special or unique. Went there for Argentina v Netherlands World Cup 2022. Tim , pictured, was the hardworking bartender. At the 11:00am game, the beers were $7. The fries, $6, were HOT and fresh, too. There are about 20 screens with the game so you could get in the action from any seat. At the game’s peak, every seat was filled and many were standing. It was , however, not crowded. Tim said for a big game, the place would be packed with standing room. Service was great and a second bartender helped. The seemed to mix a lot of complicated drinks! Crowd was friendly. Frisco Fried is a casual, family-owned soul food restaurant in San Francisco that specializes in fried chicken, seafood, and burger dogs. The Lemon Pepper Fried Chicken is a must-try dish with a recipe passed down from the owner's grandfather. The classic chicken, available on a golden-brown waffle, is worth the wait despite slow service at times. Visitors praise the fresh and delicious food along with friendly and fast service.
I am so blessed to be a delivery driver because it allows me to try new places to eat and this is one of them. I was out in San Francisco and found this place on Google searching for take out. After looking at their menu and my mouth watering.. lol I decided on going to Frisco Fried and they didn't disappoint. In my photo I got ox tails, Mac n Cheese, Greens and it came with Corn bread muffin.. When I opened my container it smells amazing and the food wasn't too salty it was well seasoned. The Mac and cheese wasn't greasy and the gravy was perfect with my Oxtails and my choice of brown rice. The service was spot on, the young woman who took my order was very nice, courteous and very helpful with the menu. First impressions of the place very clean on the inside though finding a park can be tricky but with food that like I see why. I would with out a doubt go back their and refer family and friends to eat there too.

Each order is fried to order… taking 20m for take out. Well worth the wait. The catfish as much as I never eat due to the bottom dweller taste, was very good without that fishy bottom taste. Chicken I am still a jolybee fan … sorry. Good quality, fried chicken gives me the bad feeling after, but not here. Even when it’s made from canola oil not like peanut oil in most southern fried places.
David H — Google review
I love Frisco Fried Chicken! I love their side choices and my favorite is Mashed Potato and Gravy, greens and their delicious and tasty corn! I actually wish they had more throughout the city because I said so. It's easy to hop on the Muni T line or drive down Third Street. Update Review on Service. The service is not only slow but they are cooking your food and chicken fresh! However, I had to wait over 20 minutes when I called to order my food ahead of time so I thought. Only to get hung up on. Having to call back and be told to please wait and waited an additional 16 minutes and I hung up because I finally got to the location. They need to hire more folks to help as their food is good and do need to attend Customer Service School but DON’T call. Suck it up and wait or not come at all.

Wing Wings is a popular spot on Haight Street known for its elevated chicken wings and homemade sauces. The menu features free-range chicken wings with options like honey-mustard, BBQ, herb, Buffalo, and the crowd favorite Angry Korean made with Korean chile paste. In addition to wings, they offer a two-piece fried chicken box with sides like potato salad or cole slaw and a biscuit at an affordable price.
Amazingly delicious potatoes and sauces for it. Barbecue wings are an excellent American dish. A very nice guy took our order for us. Atmospheric old place. We are very satisfied. I recommend.
Nataliia C — Google review
We were a little hesitant to order based on the reviews but we really enjoyed the wings! Delivery arrived on time, along with the sauces we ordered. The Angry Korean had a nice kick to it. Would recommend.
Lisa S — Google review
This was my first time eating here, the staff was really friendly. I ordered 10 wings with buffalo sauce and dry rub. I really liked the buffalo but the dry rub wasn’t impressive. I did order to go, so the dry rub might be better eaten right away. I got a small order of fries, they are tasty! And lastly I ordered the fruit punch. This place is good but definitely over priced. Happy I got to try them out.
Becca — Google review
Good wings and fried chicken. The chicken is really good quality, and the meat stays really moist and juicy. The fries are also well seasoned. Only knock is that the place is a bit pricey.
Neal — Google review
this place is amazing! my favorite is actually the fried chicken with buffalo sauce on the side. (not a lot of seating)
Salvador B — Google review
I generally really like this little place for take out chicken in the lower Haight... They serve large pieces of crispy, meaty chicken and all orders are freshly prepared as they are placed. Unfortunately, last time I was in, it tasted like the oil used in the fryer was a little older than it should have been. Also, I found my order to be over cooked (for the first time), leaving it a little dry. That's normally not the case... perhaps it was an off night.-- Also, I find my "chicken-only" orders from Wing Wings to be priced a little higher than other similar offerings available in the general area. Overall, I recommend giving them a try next time your looking for fried chicken or wings... (the sides are pretty good too.--)
Dan H — Google review
Cannot say enough about the biscuits, plantains, and chicken. Wow! After a long day around town.m it’s worth the drive. I had been craving fried chicken and this place hit the spot! Fresh and hot made to order. It’s not sitting under warmers. They have some basic beers but that’s all you need to compliment the delicious steamy fried chicken. They guy at the front was cool too. Super chill. We chatted for a bit while I waited. The epitome of SF in a restaurant; bomb food and sociable staff.

This place rocks! They have regular Buffalo flavor and spicy get them both. The Korean was really good. They have a few other flavors but I haven't tried then. The atmosphere is very cool, gives u something to look at while your wings fry

Soul food restaurant
Tastebuds is a cozy neighborhood spot just north of Golden Gate Park, offering soul food-inspired dishes and a popular Sunday brunch. The restaurant's quaint location on 5th avenue provides sunny outdoor seating and clean facilities. Visitors can enjoy favorites like fried chicken and waffles or pancakes from the breakfast menu. The casual atmosphere and friendly service make it a great place to relax while exploring the area.
Great little restaurant with good food and service. I often feel like breakfast out isn't worth it because I make the same or similar dishes at home. Tastebuds was the first place in a long time that made it feel like it was worth the time, effort and cost of going out to an American brunch. Everything was tasty and I enjoyed my order of Shrimp and Grits. I will definitely go again when I'm in the area.
Ken T — Google review
Shrimp and grits were really good. French toast sticks were very crispy. Eggs were cooked well. Biscuits were a bit under and cold but when taken as leftovers, heated up well. I appreciated my coffee being topped off.
E L — Google review
I Googled Soul Food, and Tasteebuds came up? Check the menu online saw Shrimp & Grits on the breakfast choices and said the my wife I think we found our spot. When we arrived scanned QR code I was delighted to see collard greensa and fried chicken as offerings, but what got me was the vibe, folks that was serving did look like me at all ,even the customers were all variety San Francisco was kinda like that, at least what little I saw fo9d was good, service was good, struck up a convoy with local about taxi and transit that was good also. Like I'm trying to say Tastebuds is where the emphasis Should Be on Soul not just the food.

Really good music! Friendly staff. Incredible food that's tastes and looks amazing.

Came here for brunch with a friend. It was just ok, nothing super special about it. They definitely need more help, though. Dirty tables, line of people, food in the window, all this requires more help.
Chef T — Google review
Unfortunately they were sold out of all breakfast items except chicken and waffles?? Very strange but it was good!
Mitchell C — Google review
Friendly neighborhood restaurant. Nothing fancy, order at the register and grab a seat. The cashier also doubled as the server and delivered our food. It’s a small corner spot with lots of window so it gives it a nice open feel. We been trying to find new places to try and also support more and more local businesses so we were glad to have happened upon this little neighborhood gem. I had the fried chicken and waffle and was glad to find that the chicken tender-like pieces were not dry and was nice and crunchy outside and slightly moist inside. I was hoping for a little crispier waffle but it wasn’t soggy so the waffle was fine as well. The photo I included didn’t do the omelet justice but there was a decent amount of shrimp in the omelet and my friend enjoyed her plate by finishing everything. I washed my meal down with a cup of regular black coffee and my friend had a self-serve glass of water so I can’t comment on their beverage selection…next time!
A. K — Google review
I really want to give this place a higher rating than I have, since it's recommended by someone I kind of know, but I just can't: I have been impartial in all of my reviews, and I shall remain as fair and as unbiased as I possibly can in the future. The service is really, really bad here: another table of mostly Asians, and myself at the last table have both been asked to go to the counter to order what we want when we are ready, since we have been seated outside. This is the first time where I have to go to the waitress or the waiter for an order, as opposed to the servers coming back to check on me. As if that wasn't bad enough: except when delivering my food, the servers never ever came to check on me or the other table of mostly Asians. I certainly hope this isn't some racial discrimination, but I can't help but feel that way. To top it off, you are not given anything: not water, not utentils. Literally nothing. I get that I ordered a sandwich and I don't really need either, but if I get nothing, where is the service part, other than the actual food delivery ? :-) If I had known service would have been this bad throughout the entire dining experience, I wouldn't have tipped my normal 15% (up to 20-25% and sometimes much more if the service is better than I expected) when I paid for the order. Yes, this is one of the few places where you have to pay before you get your order. (I was so hungry that I didn't mind going to the servers to get my order, but in retrospect, that's not how people should be served :-p). The food was, uh, unusual, to say the least: it was sweet all the way. The shrimp sandwich, sweet. The fries, sweet. In terms of novelty, it was pretty fun I guess, but normally, I wouldn't want my burger to be sweet, and much less my fries. And good luck finding the shrimp: I had to really, really, really look to find some "shreds" of shrimp meat (or at least what I thought was shrimp), as I couldn't tell from the taste. I therefeore can't recommend the place to anyone. However, in all due fairness, when the sandwich was hot, it actaully tasted ok (or maybe it is because I was just really hungry). I guess if you are taking it to go, where you don't have to tip (their service is just so bad that I really don't think tipping is fair), and you don't mind the overly sweet taste of everything, it's an ok option if you have no other choices at the time.

Nestled in the vibrant Fillmore District, Arang Restaurant is a delightful spot for those craving authentic Korean flavors with a hint of Japanese influence. The menu boasts generous portions that are sure to satisfy your appetite, so be mindful when ordering if you prefer not to take leftovers home. Despite its cozy size, the restaurant maximizes space efficiently and offers ample parking at the back—making it easy for diners to visit without the hassle of searching for a spot.
A great Korean cuisine for anyone to dine in. Remember, portions are relatively big so consider ordering just enough if you don't like to bring home any leftover. The food tastes amazing. The staffs are helpful and fast. Although it's very small in terms of building size, but they organize the seats very well and cozily. Oops, not to mention, the back parking will give you plenty space. No need to waste an hour or two just to find parking.

delicious, crispy chicken! one of the best places in SF. the crispiness is unmatched. rice cake soup broth was clean and well seasoned. we tried the nacho cheese chicken and it was surprisingly good! prices also very reasonable. definitely stop by if you’re near Japantown or Fillmore area!
Jamie K — Google review
It is obviously hidden-talented Korean restaurant in upper San Francisco. Even though it seems not to be known to public well, it sets a variety of typical Korean food in array and profoundly spicy food brings emotional attraction to Korean food lovers.
Sky B — Google review
This used to be a Korean restaurant, now it's specializes in chicken plates. Super chill, the food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly. There's not a vegetarian option that we saw so heads up about that. I would definitely go again

Discovered this hidden gem of Korean restaurant in heart of Japantown in 2002 and ate here regularly until 2006. It's 2019 and they're still here! I always have the same dish, they have the best AL TANG in SF.

The food was terrible. Basically all foods there taste the same with just different names. The worst thing was that some people were smoking inside the restaurant. Unbelievable.

Located in the Inner Parkside neighborhood, Odumak offers authentic Korean cuisine to diners looking for a bite to eat. The storefront itself is quite unassuming, but upon stepping into the restaurant patrons are welcomed with mood lighting and K-pop music videos plastered across the televisions, a nice casual dining enviornment. Odumak is well-known for their crispy Korean fried chicken which comes in a variety of flavors, perfect for any palette. Their Korean fried chicken comes in both half and full-size orders, and the fried chicken pieces include wing, drumstick, and breast meat pieces. For those who don't want to grapple with bones, there's a boneless popcorn chicken option that you can add any of their sauces to for an extra fee. My party of 3 arrived on a Sunday just minutes after the restaurant opened, and I was honestly amazed to find that there were another 2 tables already seated - a testament to how popular this dining spot is. After being seated, we decided on their corn cheese appetizer, fish cake soup, and two of their Korean fried chicken offerings (half of their magic cheese sprinkles, and an order of their soy and garlic popcorn chicken). While both the corn cheese and fish cake soup were delectable, the true stars of this meal were the Korean fried chicken dishes. Both orders were well fried, extremely crispy, yet juicy on the inside - the perfect bite for any fried chicken lover. If you're a fan of Korean food, and especially of Korean fried chicken, then you should give Odumak a try if you're in the area!

This was an old spot, but under new management, I think. I went here looong time ago under former management and remember the soju was amazing. Now they still have that natural real juice soju but the price is outrageous. Aside from the soju, they said the fried chicken is amazing. let me be honest: they don’t. The fried chicken is mediocre. Very bland, dry, not even that crispy. The sauce is too sweet in my opinion. The bibimbap is ok, I like the fact that the sauce is spicy, but the meat is very tough and much better without. beef noodles is also very bland. There’s slight pepper kick to it but it needs soy sauce or salt and surely more gochuharu. Service: lady there was nice but we had to ask for napkins 3 times before she brought it. I went and asked for more to-go container & plastic, and she looked a little upset because she was having dinner at the time (well, sorry for going to her area cuz she ain’t coming to our table, I guess). All in all, it’s only good convenience because our friend lives nearby, but maybe next time we would try other places instead.

I’m in the process of sampling Korean fried chicken from various places in SF to determine which place to order from for an upcoming Friendsgiving. This place made it onto my short list and was first on my list to try since it’s the closest to me. I opted for a half sized order of soy garlic fried chicken, as it’s my favourite flavour. I’ve tried a bunch of Korean fried chicken in LA Ktown and Garden Grove, so my standards are high for this dish. Not gonna lie, I think the chicken looks better than it tasted. I was initially drawn to this place because of images others posted that depicted super crispy, garlicky chicken, which reminded me of soy garlic KFC in SoCal. However, the chicken here is drenched in so much sauce that it feels slightly soggy, and I know it can’t be due to the fact it’s a delivery order because I literally received it within minutes of it being prepared. I wouldn’t order it without sauce or with sauce on the side though because then there’s the risk of it not being flavourful enough or the sauce not being distributed evenly. Also, the flavour is way too sweet. Soy garlic KFC should have a rich umami flavour, but this one didn’t. Instead the sweetness was on par with Chinese orange chicken. I can see this being a decent spot for late night eats after going out and drinking, but I wouldn’t choose this place specifically for KFC if it’s for a nice meal.
Corina L — Google review
Had high hopes for this place but it fell a little short. First, they can't seem to remember everything you ordered. But that's fine. Next, you see white people. Try, "could i get you guys any other utensils?" Honestly, every server should ask this. But i served in a different time when we worked for our tip. Coffee cups never were low in my time. They don't have Coffee here but my tea ran out and stayed empty. Lastly, about our order, if the pork is spicy, but it doesn't say on the menu, try asking, "is spicy okay?" I'm extremely sensitive to spicy. I take my time to find food that isn't spicy or i have to send it back other people may be less sensitive. But make sure the customer is getting exactly what they ordered and not what you want to give them. Especially when it's an ordered item and not the complimentary stuff. Flavor. It was pretty good. But mostly boneless chicken? That's a first for me unless specified. The watermelon soju in the watermelon, i liked the presentation but i think tap water has a higher alcohol content. It's probably 500-1,000ml, i drank most of it and didn't even have the faintest of buzzes. And i can feel one shot of whiskey (for perspective). The service. Bad. She really didn't want to serve us. She seemed to give people in their 20s (her peers from our observation) decent service and older gentlemen. But knowing her looks weren't going to coerce me to tip more, she didn't even try to be pleasant. On our $139 tab, pleasant service would have been the difference between a $30 tip and not returning and a $50 tip and a new regular. We're actually in the market for a good Korean place near Daly City and this is one of the closest. Conclusion: if you're young adults or older gentlemen AND can handle spicy, it's a great place. Suggestion though if you're drinking, order the bottled soju and have a DD or Uber take you home. The $27 fancy sojus have almost no alcohol.

I didn't get to take photos of all of our food, but we ordered a lot. I went with a group of 11 people for a birthday dinner. We had 2 types of fried chicken, galbi, tonkatsu, corn cheese, japchae, 2 types of tteokbokki, and a dozen bottles of soju. Everything was delicious. I would love to come back.

Just moved into the neighborhood and found this amazing place. I loved the friend chicken and the bulgogi fries are awesome. It had a nice vibe with all the K-pop music. They have an amazing Korean Rice beer called Makdeolli. I definitely recommend it. Portions are extremely generous. Come with an appetite and a friend!
Bryan G — Google review
It's a small cozy place. My friend and I came here on a Friday night around 7pm and we got our seats pretty quick (not a lot of people during that time). We ordered three items: corn cheese, kimchi fried rice, and bu dae jjigae. The corn cheese was a bad one because they just poured the cheese on the top and the corn was not fresh at all. The kimchi fried rice and the army stew were just fine. The service was good, but I guess I will not go back to this place.
Rachel S — Google review
I had gone here late at night (around 10pm) for a quick bite and chat with a friend of mine. We were seated fairly quickly and the waiter came by with our order and drink quickly as well. We had even met with the owner, John who invited us to stay for a little longer past closing! It was a very nice experience and I will definitely be coming back again. John was such a nice person to talk to and would definitely treat you right.

I've always wanted to try Korean fried chicken, I've heard so many good things about it. Finally had the opportunity to do so in San Fran and man, was it a disappointment. The driest, most flavorless, and unappetizing chicken I've ever eaten. I couldn't even finish it. I tried my best to but it was too damn tough for no reason, hard to chew and no seasoning. The crispy skin at the bottom was probably the only decent part of it. Everything else, trash. Sorry, but this is my honest review. Maybe another state will have better chicken 🤷🏽‍♀️

Tried for the first time. Staff was extremely friendly! However, there was barely any sauce on the chicken and the pork buns didn’t have much flavor or sauce. I also unfortunately had a stomach ache long after consuming. I think the biggest downfall is how expensive it was ($35 for 10 wings and 3 small pork buns)
