Chef Dirk is so wonderful!! 🤩 I really enjoyed how he instructed the class, it was so fun! It was very informative from beginning to end, and enjoyable. I had scheduled my session for my birthday and he made sure I and another birthday guest were involved in the process of our meal. Everyone in the group had a part in our meal and he made sure and kept count on everyone in the group to put in effort to complete our delicious meal. I also really enjoyed Chef Dirk’s laugh it was contagious❤️ Thank you Chef Dirk, you made my birthday memorable for me, I look forward to booking another class with you!

This class far exceeded my expectations. I learned a lot about Korean cooking and the dishes we prepared were all delicious. I really think I could prepare them at home now. Chef Polly was patient, clear in her instructions, friendly and warm. The class was paced perfectly. We did not feel rushed but accomplished a lot in the time allotted. I would recommend any class Polly teaches and hope to do another with her some day.

Chef Stefano was fun to instruct our private party. He is informative, insightful, and patient! We had a memorable experience for my wife as a birthday gift along with our daughters.
Scott L — Google review
My husband and I had an absolute wonderful time with Chef Parsati. I had booked this cooking class as a fun Valentine's date for my husband since he had been wanting to cook more often. I thought doing something hands on like this would be fun and inspiring. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and we learned so many new tips. We are definitely looking forward to trying new recipes! Chef Parsati was so welcoming and knowledgeable! We loved her approach to traditional recipes. She achieves delicious flavors with a focus on healthy eating. Definitely something we are inspired to continue to use in our future cooking! We look forward to booking again with her in the future 🙂
Jazmina G — Google review
Chef Polly was helpful, friendly and coached us through a new cuisine for me with lots of tips on technique, flavor combinations, recipes and a shopping guide. I had a great afternoon, delicious food with some for later. It was a fun afternoon shared with three longtime friends. We felt right at home with Polly in the kitchen sharing Korean family dishes.

Outstanding class!!! I enjoyed every minute of it. Chef Eddie does a great job explaining and spending time with everyone. Top notch ingredients. Can't wait to do more classes.

The weekend brunch with Chef Mike was amazing!! The meal was as delicious as it looks on the menu! He was welcoming and personable. Everything was well organized, with the perfect amount of work for everyone to learn, prep and cook. We thoroughly enjoyed our Weekend Brunch experience with Chef Mike. He shared some great tips and tricks! This was our first time trying Cozymeal! He set the bar pretty high! Can’t wait for our next experience!

Our team had an amazing experience with Chef Dirk. We had a group of 16 and wanted to do something special but different during our annual holiday gathering so we choose a team building cooking class. We choose the Italian Pasta, and everyone had so much fun making and enjoy eating. Chef Dirk was awesome! Thank you again for the special evening...

BiteUnite is a Cooking School in San Francisco with high quality recipes and lively hosts. The class I took was great fun and I learned some authentic Thai recipes.
This was the best cooking class i ever experienced! Tanarak was super friendly and very detailed in all the steps taken to create our amazing Thai dishes! He was very accommodating to our group and i would highly recommend this cooking class for anyone interested in a fun group activity!

Came here for a team building. Have done a few team cooking events and this experience was a really nice one. The menu included 6 Thai dishes plus ice cream. Recipes and instructions were easy to follow and dishes were delicious. Great time bonding with coworkers.
Dennis C — Google review
Awesome and fun experience for a couple or small group! Learned lots about authentic Thai food and cooking, and we got to enjoy good food while at it (our group cooked chicken curry, pad Thai, and mango sticky rice!). Would definitely recommend for either visiting tourists or locals looking for something different to try out.
Liane K — Google review
Great experience! Our team did a Thai cooking class for a team bonding event, and everything was very well-organized and tasty.

Had a great time cooking Thai food with BiteUnite! Class was super organised and informative that we feel confident we could cook this at home! Highly recommend!
Chelsey S — Google review
I took this cooking class as a mother and daughter weekend activity. It was so nice. The food we made was easy and delicious, something I can easily make at home. Tanark was very nice. Definitely worth trying.

Patta is amazing!!! This was a fantastic way to spend our anniversary. This was such an educational and fun experience. They were so thoughtful about taking pictures for us so we could focus on the cooking. We are coming away with a fantastic memory and 3 recipes that will definitely be on our weekly dinner rotation.
Hye K — Google review
Great experience! Typically I grill my steaks on a gas grill. Here it was a completely different experience. Pan-seared steak, European-style sauces, hand made croutons… everything was perfect.the team shares the recipe, so I will try cooking this at home. Definitely recommend everyone. Will come here again for another cooking class. :)

The Civic Kitchen is a cooking school located conveniently near BART, offering hands-on classes for all skill levels. From basic knife skills to preparing full meals with renowned cookbook authors, there's something for everyone. The space is clean-lined and beautiful, making it a delightful place to learn and cook. The staff is known for their warmth and attention to detail, creating a communal atmosphere that adds to the overall experience.
Excellent staff; friendly, patient and helpful. The recipes were challenging, but their team knows how to adapt to novices and experts alike. The end product was delicious!
Mayra G — Google review
Recent private b-day party with widely varying aptitude by 30 guests for kitchen prep tasks - everyone gave 5 stars to CK and to their amazing, attentive staff. Graciously attended to each special request, incorporating any "can we do this for the guests" into their core, Civic Kitchen team cooking experience. We made a range of appetizers, enjoyed a remarkably easy, informal, gathering in a professionally equipped, professionally staffed Kitchen.

Wow, wow, wow. A beautiful space, excellent staff, fresh ingredients, action-packed classes, and a meal together at the end. You learn so much and gain so much confidence in the fundamentals in a short amount of time. You must check these folks out!!
Keyan R — Google review
Beautiful space with excellent cooking equipment. Amazing instructors and owner. Classes are a bit pricey but worth it. Chefs kiss!
Maria B — Google review
I can’t get enough of The Civic Kitchen. Not only you will learn one of the most important skills in life, but you will enjoy all the recipes, attention to details and warmth from the staff. The Learn to cook series was fabulous but the American Diner Brunch was perhaps my favorite class so far! Can’t wait to be back!
Noel R — Google review
Fantastic experience at a birthday party. Learned to make a wonderful meal and got to interact with people in a new and engaging way without anyone on their phones.
Rob P — Google review
The space is beautiful and the team a delight to work with! My company conducted investor product tastings at Civic Kitchen and worked with Jen and Chris; they were incredibly responsive, reliable, accommodating, and helpful plus delightful to work with. The space is absolutely gorgeous- a chef's dream to work in. Jen has thoughtfully equipped it with multiples of everything you could need; has given the space the best flow, impeccable organization, and designed every detail with incredible intentionality. She has an impressive display wall of cookbooks, impeccable taste (literally and figuratively! The fresh flowers every day in antique mint julep cups complete her vision!), and the attention to detail are very telling of the quality of their work and cooking classes. We are so grateful to have had such a wonderful space and team on our side during a very intense work week! Highly, highly recommend Civic Kitchen for your next event or class!

This is a new cooking school. Chef Agustin Gaytan instructed the hands class I attended. We made 3 different kinds of tamales. Delicious food and salsas. I learned a few new techniques and some of the history behind the food. The owner says they are stil adding chefs and classes and they will have children's classes.

Deli

Sandwich shop
Molinari Delicatessen is a historic Italian deli that has been serving up delicious sandwiches since 1896. The family-run shop, now in its fourth generation, offers artisanal meats, cheeses, and breads for takeaway sandwiches. With a no-nonsense staff and a classic Italian ambiance complete with Sinatra playing in the background, it's the perfect spot to grab an unforgettable combo sandwich before heading to Washington Square Park for a picnic.
Came here because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint. Sandwiches were great with tons of flavor and huge! I had lunch one day and breakfast the next :) the shop inside is also a great spot to buy different products. We came here on a Friday at 10:30 am so line was non existence although pictures suggest this become a hot spot at times. There are no seating area so one has to seat outside and can be chilling at times. Plus there is no bathroom. Overall a great spot and will highly recommend to visit and try their nice sandwiches
Manuel N — Google review
I could eat this every day. Generous portions, I got 2 meals out of the focacia prosciutto sandwich Friendly staff as well! I have a dairy allergy and asked for no cheese so they encouraged me to sub out cheese for another topping. We got there probably between 1130-noon, as we were leaving it started to fill up with the lunch rush!
Dianne N — Google review
Famous Italian deli spot in the North Beach neighborhood. Popular with both tourists and local residents. We ordered the 4 different subs, and they were all delicious - my favorite was the Molinari special. Prices were around $16 per sub, which is definitely big enough for one person. They cut it in half so you can exchange with your friend/family if you wanna try multiple subs. As you walk in, you’ll feel as if you were transported to Italy. The whole store is filled with imported food goods from Italy and it’s a great vibe that gets your appetite going. They also slice the deli meat in front of you for some cool showmanship. Make sure to grab a ticket as soon as you walk in, as they’ll call your number to take orders at the counter. The wait might be 20-30 mins depending on the day and time. If you are low on time, I don’t think it’s an essential spot to visit as I’m sure there are other lesser known spots with just as good subs.
Jae J — Google review
They ran out of focaccia at 3pm Take a number and wait to be called. When they call your number, order, then pay when you pick up Was still good with soft bread, but not worth the 30min wait. Cheese was still cold after the sandwich was toasted
L — Google review
It was crazy busy at 2pm yesterday. We waited 30 minutes to place our order. Was it worth it? Not really. We ordered the Italian combo on Italian bread. That was a mistake. We like crusty bread but this was tough. Taking a bite required moving the bread back and forth to tear it off. The flavor was great but it should be for $18. People behind the counter were friendly and there are a few tables outside.
Todd P — Google review
After waiting 50-minutes, there were still 9 tickets in front of us so we gave up. Was cool to experience the buzz and see all the different ingredients and local characters coming in/out. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re willing to wait a long time for an $18 sandwich - or you go at a time when there’s no queue.
Johnathan B — Google review
My favorite spot in San Francisco for sandwiches. Been here a few times and it was great everytime.
Tomer A — Google review
I bought three sandwiches yesterday. Spent $48. There was barely any meat on them. Never again. The reviews are overated. I'm visiting from Maryland. Way better sandwiches. Very disappointed.

Farmers' market
Flea market
Located in San Francisco, the Alemany Farmer's Market is a beloved spot for locals and chefs alike. Established in 1943, it holds the distinction of being the oldest farmers market in California. The market offers a wide array of farm-fresh produce, artisanal goods, and delectable street food every Saturday on Alemany Boulevard. It has a rich history dating back to World War II when it brought together produce from Victory Gardens.
My wife and I have been shopping at the Alemany Farmers Market nearly every weekend since 1999. As the oldest farmers market in San Francisco, it’s also our favorite for its unbeatable quality, friendly service, and great value. The best vendors here rival high-end grocery stores like Whole Foods in quality while offering better prices than upscale markets like the Ferry Building. Here are our top recommendations. Tomatero Farms (near the entrance): Outstanding organic produce, including strawberries (early summer to fall), dry-farmed Early Girl tomatoes (late summer to fall), and organic greens year-round. Twin Girls Farm (a third down on the left): Robert and his team offer amazing seasonal fruit—summer peaches, pluots, plums, winter citrus, pomegranates, and persimmons. The City Fish Company (at the far right): Retired fisherman Allan and his cousin Sean sell the freshest fish at competitive prices. Highlights include crab in winter, black cod year-round, halibut, rock cod, and fish heads for soups. McGinnis Ranch (halfway down on the left): The go-to spot for tender organic carrots, Blue Lake beans, and summer strawberries. Far West Fungi (near McGinnis Ranch): A gourmet selection of organic mushrooms. Panorama Bakery (prepared-food stalls near Alemany Blvd): A wide variety of breads—sourdough, sandwich loaves, focaccia—and pastries like croissants, scones, and cookies. Ferrari Farms (near the entrance): Delicious organic apples year-round, plus summer peaches, plums, cherries, and nuts like almonds and walnuts. Hooverville Orchards (far left, opposite the entrance): Chris Hoover and his daughter specialize in apples (many varieties year-round), pears, Asian pears, and persimmons. Cipponeri Family Farms (near Hooverville): Nick Cipponeri offers exceptional summer peaches, plums, and year-round almonds and nuts. Gloria Martinez’s Stand (near the entrance to the right): Great value on sweet peppers, eggplants, red onions, chilies, limes, and fall persimmons. This market is a gem—don’t miss it!

Being newer to San Francisco, some of the farmers markets I ventured to felt kind of felt like scams, super overpriced and small. Not this one! Lots of options. Great quality. And the prices tend to be great!! The strawberries at the front are always AMAZING. And when it comes to prices, the stall to the left when you walk in is hard to beat! I love buying flowers at the stalls here as well. The also host a DELICIOUS food vendor - Happy Himalayan Momo. Highly recommend ordering there. Parking has never been an issue.
L M — Google review
I came for the flea market, which I think is tomorrow but today is the farmers market and let me tell you if you’re from here you knew all about it. If you’re not from here make sure you get over here to check out this farmers market the most amazing fruits I’ve ever seen from peaches to pomegranates to plums to the biggest assortment of tomatoes I’ve ever seen in my life… everything is so sweet and so fresh and the people are so nice and there’s lots of samples to try out before you buy
Martin Z — Google review
Open all months. Saturdays only. Rain or shine. 6am to 2pm. Seasonal fruits, vegetables, nuts, flowers, honey, mushrooms, plants. Farmers drive from neighboring and far away cities, to bring their freshly picked items to sell.
Jyoti S — Google review
Alemany Farmers Market is a hidden gem in San Francisco! Fresh produce, local vendors, and unbeatable prices make it the perfect weekend stop. The variety is amazing, from organic fruits and vegetables to delicious homemade treats. Friendly atmosphere and plenty of parking. Highly recommend for anyone who loves supporting local farmers!
Jule D — Google review
Best Fresh produce farmers market ever! Jicama was so fresh which I’ve never seen this fresh one before. Most of them are brown but this one was more whitish color. Taste was amazing. Most of producers are organic farmers and sell what they grow.
Erica A — Google review
My favorite farmers market in SF <3 top notch produce and extremely fair prices. The vendors will have samples out to try, and sometimes will throw in some extra stuff for free which is so kind! :) - Benzler farms: their orange blossom honey is the best honey I’ve ever tried, with wonderful floral and citrus notes - Tomatero farms: Great strawberries, blackberries, and winter veggies - Cipponeri Family Farms: The best pluots and stone fruit
Vaishnavi G — Google review
Amazing farmers market in SF. Alemany offers a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables with friendly vendors and reasonable prices. Love the variety of Asian vegetables which can be hard to find in other farmers markets. Although it gets pretty crowded, I’ve never had to wait for a parking spot.

The Spanish Table is a chain of markets that specializes in offering a wide range of foods, wines, and cookware from Spain and Portugal. The owners, Steve and Sharon, were inspired to open the store after falling in love with the culture during a trip to Spain in 1985. Customers praise the staff's knowledge and recommend trying their cappuccinos and conservas such as smoked trout or mackerel.
Amazing neighborhood store with a fantastic selection of Spanish and Portuguese products. Staff is really knowledgeable, and their coffee is on point, one of the best cappuccinos in town. Highly recommend the conservas, if you have never tried them before this is the perfect spot to pick up some smoked trout or mackerel. Also love the olives with lemon paste and the paprika chips 💯
Yuliya R — Google review
Great shopping spot for all kinds of Spanish imported food and wine! They also have coffee service and sandwiches available. They have a great selection of wines at very affordable price ranges. They also have cookware to make paellas and other delicious foods. If you are into foods, spices, and wines coming from the Iberian peninsula, this is the place to go to. Make sure to sign up to their mailing list for special events and discounts!
Nicolas D — Google review
My friend took me for a nice walk and we stopped at The Spanish table for sandwiches - omg so good. The bread and ingredients so fresh and so good. The owner so nice even let us taste test some really good olive oil. We will be back.
Danice M — Google review
Terrible sandwich makers! Paid 25 dollars for two sandwiches, these were perhaps the most skimped sandwiches I’ve ever had, one had three pieces of arugula on it and 3 olives nothing else for 12 dollars. Do not go here expecting that they will give you what you pay for. The other sandwich was no better, they either need to lower their prices or retrain their employees on how to make sandwiches, to be damming the neighborhood like this is ridiculous.
Isaac Z — Google review
For a great selection of Spanish wines and Portuguese wines this the best place to visit. Various port wines fortified with a deep flavor rooted in history. It's a great place to explore these wines and grab a snack from their snack shop, bocadillos!!
Francisco V — Google review
Loved this gem of a spot! For anyone who loves Spain, this is where you can get your fix. Amazing selections of wines, meats (jamón iberico anyone?!), cheeses, fresh baguettes, a variety of canned goods like Ortiz Bonita (tuna!) and anchovy stuffed olives... this place truly is a food lover’s paradise with authentic Spanish brands and a friendly staff to boot.
Caitlyn K — Google review
So many great things to say about this place! Lovely service and true caring about the food that they serve. We had the Basque and pin & fig sandwiches which are $11 each and are amazing! The Story of Ramen is a unique dining experience founded by Chef Manville Chan, who trained at the International Ramen School in Yokohama, Japan. Initially a community pop-up, it offers an opportunity to bond over delicious ramen and appetizers. The co-owner, with extensive culinary training abroad, provides detailed instructions and explanations for each ingredient. Participants can expect a hands-on cooking experience guided by knowledgeable instructors.
I just left it 20 minutes ago and wanted to leave a detailed review as well as a big Thank you to the owner. I've had this experience on my list for almost a year and I am so glad I've finally got the time to go there. We booked the time & day we wanted a month ago and were super excited to go here. Upon visiting, the owner seated us and brought some gyoza over. The place itself is very cozy and organized. Then we moved onto preparing the noodles from scratch. He did a great job of explaining everything to us and taking it not too fast. Once we were all done with noddles, we were led to the area where we boiled them, while the owner poured the broth into each bowl. Then we added everything else and enjoyed the meal (I rarely finish the whole bowl, but it was so delicious that I finished it quickly). Then we were also given mocha ice cream. There were stands for phones if one wanted to take videos, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was great experience, amazing customer service, and even better ingredients. Now I'll recommend this to all my loved ones and will try to come back again. :)

Great bonding experience with yummy ramen and appetizers. Street parking is very limited so arrive early. Make note of the parking area number, so you can refill the meter online without running to the car. The co-owner who ran the 2-hour event has an impressive resume; years and years of studying abroad in various cuisines. He guided us with detailed instructions and explained the reasoning behind each ingredient. The Founder/CEO set up all the next steps diligently with the utmost efficiency. It made the whole experience go by seamlessly. There is even a phone stand at each station for those who wish to record. Ultimately, it's your creation! You choose the saltiness and spiciness of the broth. You choose how much and which toppings to assemble. You choose how charred the meat should be. I had a great time - if they ever cook another menu item I would definitely come back.

Best ramen we've ever had. It helps that you get to make it yourself (the noodles at least). Everything tastes better when you do it yourself! Date day for a Saturday morning class. Great experience overall. The hosts are really passionate about ramen and what they do. Super nice and kind to us. It was a great experience to cap off our visit to SF. Highly recommend.

The experience of making Ramen noodles with my sister was fun and delicious. The kitchen set up was perfectly for all the attendees. Cleanliness was evident. The equipment was just what we needed and the food at the end of the session was delicious. A great time for sure.

I’ve been twice now and I would highly recommend the experience! It’s so much fun and the instructor is fun to learn from. It’s a fun date night or company team bonding experience. However, the ramen isn’t the best.
Rajni L — Google review
The Story of Ramen experience could not have been better! From the appetizers to the dessert, the high quality food was outstanding! We bragged that we made the best ramen we’ve ever tasted, but, of course the credit goes to our knowledgeable instructor. From his well-planned use of time to the smooth rotations for cooking our noodles, the process was seamless. Whether you’re a cook or not, I’m confident you’ll leave this experience feeling accomplished and happy!
Leanne B — Google review
I've been to many of these cooking experience classes and this one easily tops the list. The owner really knows his stuff and was also skilled as an instructor. We did the full four-hour experience and personally, I would recommend that if you have the time/budget. You'll come out with a new appreciation for all the effort and complexity that goes into making a good bowl of ramen. I was interested in most in the cooking experience, but in terms of the eating experience, the ramen we ended up with was actually pretty exceptional.
Ashish M — Google review
The chicken katsu was amazing! I would recommend trying it from The Ramen Story. The portion size was generous, and the flavors were spot on. I'll definitely be back for more.

Nestled in the charming Alamo Square neighborhood, Josey Baker Bread is a delightful bakery that has quickly made a name for itself in San Francisco's sourdough scene. This inviting space features exposed brick and ample natural light, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying artisanal breads and baked goods alongside expertly brewed coffee from Four Barrel Coffee.
My husband and I decided to get coffee and a quick breakfast before heading to Alamo Park to walk around and take a picture of the Painted Ladies houses. We stumbled across this bakery and were extremely pleased with the outcome. I ordered coffee and a ham and cheese croissant, delicious. My husband ordered hot tea and the number 7 which was toast with hummus, cauliflower and something else (he forgot). He said all ingredients were fresh and it really delicious. If you’re coming to Alamo park or to see the Painted Ladies houses, i definitely recommend coming here to pick up a quick bite and bringing it to Alamo park for a quick picnic. You will not be disappointed.
Rebeca A — Google review
I have tried several bakeries in SF over the past 3 months, and this one by far has the best sourdough. It’s fresh and chewy. This is the only bakery that I returned to twice to buy a loaf of bread. Their coffee was also amazing and served in cute, colorful mugs! I also got the egg-in-a-hole toast, which was okay but not mind-blowing. My biggest complaint is that while the bread prices are reasonable, the mill prices are quite high for the quantity of food. It was $26 for the small toast and a latte, so I wish the prices aligned more with the quantity given.
Nikita G — Google review
Perfect. Love the toasts menu, i got egg in the hole it was perfect. Thin crispy bread crust that doesnt tear up your mouth while trying to eat it, plush bread that soaks up the butter, and a really well cooked egg for the dish. Chocolate crinkle cookie is a great companion to coffee or just as a small sweet treat. Lemon chamomile tea cake is perfectly sweet with a moist crumb and light lemon flavour. Amazing truly and i cant wait to come back I got the pumpkin ganache latte in 8 oz size, it was SO GOOD. Pumpkin and coffee flavours dance, none over powers the other. Its super smooth.
Jade — Google review
Truly some of the best bread I’ve ever had in the world. This is my go-to bread place in the city. It’s located inside of The Mill, and you can either get loaves to go or a variety of prepared slices of toast. I typically get a loaf of Wonder Bread to go, but all of the toast that I’ve had here is likewise excellent, especially the avocado toast.
Matt B — Google review
really to die for bread!!! i got: - the daily special: labneh, broccolini, mint, and chilli crisp - toad in the hole: poached egg, garlic sage butter both to die for, though i’ll note the bread gets kinda burnt in the back. but it’s okay because the taste is still great. will be back for the black pepper parmesan bun & one of the sweet toasts!
Christopher T — Google review
Went to a Pizza making class here. They did a great job, and it was a lot of fun. We were able to enjoy a few expenses and some appetizers before the class . Both were very good. They also make their own fluor in-house... so cool. Great place for fresh breads and a cup of coffee.

I LOVE Josey Baker bread. I have had sourdough all over the country and can 100% tell you that Josey Baker is the best. After moving from Pac Heights to NY last March, I have brought home 4 loaves every time to put in my freezer (I thaw one at a time in my breadbox and have a slice every morning).
Wendy M — Google review
The mocha with non-dairy milk was perfect and so was the sourdough bread with almond butter and the ham and cheese croissant. Absolutely delicious. Haven’t found any bakery as good as this in NYC. Must visit if you are in SF!

This Noe Valley boutique is home to premium olive oils, pasta, sea salts, and other gourmet foods. You can also enjoy a tasting bar while you shop.
I highly recommend booking a private tasting here for your next team building event. To accompany the five oils we tasted, Janell created a gorgeous spread of fresh produce with gourmet cheeses, salami and chocolate. The aroma of the first oil was so deliciously pungent I almost fell backwards off my seat. In addition to a jar of cavelstrano olives and a bottle of Janell and Erin’s own olive oil brand (Prmry), I walked out the door with several helpful tidbits on how to choose and store olive oil. Janell also knows a lot about the olive industry in California and sources her goods mostly from local farmers.

What an amazing selection of oils! It's all available in just about any volume you want, from wee bottles to 750 mL to full gallon growers. They also have pastas and other foods, and at least during the pandemic, have a mini-bookshelf of cookbooks from Folio Books up the street. Janell, the proprietor, is knowledgeable about her product, and super-friendly and helpful.

I love this cute shop! It's a bit tucked away from the main 24th St corridor, but well worth a visit. They have a great selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars, including many flavored varieties. They even do bottle refills! There's a bunch of pasta, seasonings, and great gift options as well. Highly recommend stopping in and doing a little tasting when you can.

Linden & Laguna is a delightful new addition to the Hayes Valley scene, having opened its doors in 2021. This charming wine bar, set within a stunning Parisian-style beaux arts building, specializes in showcasing independent Californian wines from family-owned producers. Guests can indulge in an impressive selection of craft beers and delectable local bites, such as clam dip paired with homemade chips. The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for enjoying a leisurely brunch or dinner while sipping on high-quality wines.
My husband and I walked over to check this place out for the first time. I loved the vibe...intimate, relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for date night. The service was great too. We had some flat bread, bubbly and Bordeaux. Nice addition to Hayes Valley.

Very cute ambiance and friendly staff. Wine was good, and they have a happy hour until 7 with $2 off a particular wine and $2 oysters. Oysters were great, but the flatbread and tomato salad lacked some flavor. Overall good, but a bit pricy for the flavor

I’ve been going to different businesses in this location for decades now and I adore this latest iteration of neighborhood wine bar. It’s definitely my favorite! The wine is beautifully curated, the staff is very knowledgeable and personable, and the food is great. My most recent visit was on a chilly Thursday evening and the ambiance was so cozy that I didn’t want to leave. I’ll definitely be back soon.

My husband and I just got back from getting wine and snacks from Linden & Laguna; we loved it! The service was friendly and laid back. The wine list was thoughtfully curated and the food was delicious. I'm happy to see this place open up in the neighborhood. Oh, and the pour was generous!

Stopped in last week & had a wonderful experience! Staff is great & very welcoming! Perfect spot for an afternoon drink and light bites. Although we sat outside ; the inside looks super cozy & cute. Also the drinks are very reasonably priced and really good quality wines

Finally made it down to this wine bar! I was a huge fan of this space when it was The Riddler - I love what the new owners have done with it as it's still very cosy and European like. They have a focused wine list and food to please each phase of your hunger - just snacking, light apps, feeling like meal... flat breads and a salad. The service was top notch from each server and they're so friendly! Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
Aryn C — Google review
Lovely wine bar with excellent food and good selection of wines. Unfortunately we were there on Sunday and they had run out of a few wines as well as some options on the menu. But we truly enjoyed the experience anyways. We had a couple of bottles of the local rose, which was lovely. We had the flatbread with mushrooms and mozzarella, which was delish! The broccolini was outstanding (I’ll defo try this recipe at home). And the charcuterie was probably the best I had outside of France, Spain or Italy. Superb quality and great atmosphere. Will defo be back (and take some pictures this time ;) )

First Class Cooking offers a sushi-making class for $129 per person, lasting about three hours and including a four-course meal. The instructor, Emily, provides insider tips on assembling nigiri and rolls while sharing the cultural significance of this Japanese delicacy. Participants praise Emily's patience and expertise, making the experience enjoyable for beginners. The casual atmosphere and beautiful venue add to the overall appeal. Additionally, it's noted as an excellent team-building activity with delicious food results.
Our team recently participated in a cooking class with Emily, and it was truly one of the best team events we’ve ever had! Emily’s welcoming personality set the tone for an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere right from the start. We loved that she encouraged us to ask questions, not just about the recipes we were making but about cooking in general. Her tips on knife skills and the proper use of salt were game-changers. The class wasn’t just educational; it was so much fun! Emily gave us the perfect balance of guidance and space to laugh, joke, and bond as a team. Dinner was delicious, and sitting down together to enjoy what we’d made felt like the perfect way to wrap up the evening. If you’re looking for an event that’s equal parts engaging, informative, and fun, we couldn’t recommend Emily’s class more. We can’t wait to try out the recipes at home!

We booked a cooking class with Emily for my birthday and had a great time! Emily is clearly very passionate about food and cooking, and we loved how much energy she brought to the class while keeping it informative and engaging. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes blended together very well. We plan to be back to take another class!
Cathy H — Google review
Emily is absolutely first class! She knows a lot about how the ingredients actually works together and tells you why we need to do something and shares tips for cooking restaurant level meals yourself. Definitely recommend and would come back!
Chelsea — Google review
Emily's cooking class was amazing! Felt like hanging out with a super-skilled friend rather than a formal lesson. She quickly figured out our different skill levels and tailored everything perfectly. Learned so much - from Costco "power greens" to understanding the fun of food science that develops instinct and intuition rather than coldly following recipes, and tons of practical kitchen hacks. She showed us how to reduce waste, amp up flavors, cut down fishiness, and reuse ingredients in clever ways. The class had this perfect mix of beginner tips and advanced techniques that worked for everyone. Such a fun, laid-back vibe but packed with useful knowledge. Definitely going back for round two!
Jarod F — Google review
Emily has a lot of great tips and is EXTREMELY patient with people. I wanted to grab the knife away and chop things myself most of the time, but she kept her cool and let the newbies learn. (Hence, why I'm not a teacher...nor chef). The menu was great (always is - I've been to many classes!) and I love the casual vibe and beautiful view. I'm always learning a fun new tip when I go - and hope to return again soon!
Julia K — Google review
Super experience. Emily is a fantastic cook and a great teacher. We all learned so much that night. Also fabulously delicious dinner at the end. The Woebot team loved this it was a great social team building experience. I recommend it 100% The staff are already asking when we can do it again!

Our firm spent our holiday party cooking with Emily. We had a great time and learned a lot! She made us feel like we were cooking with a friend at home. Highly recommend!!!
Patrick W — Google review
We brought in 8 software engineers with a fairly limited set of cooking skills. :) Emily was charming and took charge of the training while simultaneously making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Emily's venue is beautiful and the event was a huge success. As a team building exercise this was second to none. Also, the food turned out wonderfully! Be sure to ask about the cocktail option as well.

If you're eager to dive into the vibrant world of Indian cuisine, look no further than CRIMSON KITCHEN. Located in Noe Valley, Meghna Agarwala offers engaging and informative cooking classes right from her home. These group sessions last three to four hours and are perfect for anyone wanting to explore the rich tapestry of Indian flavors.
Loved the practical cooking tips, spice overview and recipes. In fact, made Vegetarian Korma, Aloo Gobi, Chana Masala, Spiced Rice and Paneer Tikka for my book club tonight - we were discussing Covenant of Water. Everyone LOVED the meal - thank you Meghna!!

I loved taking a cooking class from Meghna. Beyond being very skilled at her craft, she teaches in a very relatable and simple to understand manner. She is also a story teller and great host. Everyone in my party had a lot of fun and made great food and memories! I had a great experience!
Virginia S — Google review
Meghna's class is an amazing introduction to Indian cuisine. She's super knowledgable and a great host. Learned a lot about what makes North Indian food different from South Indian food, sampled a bunch of spices we'd never been exposed to and even learned a couple tricks in the kitchen that translate to other cuisines. Highly highly recommend this to anyone interested in Indian food or cooking more generally. Makes a great gift!

Cooking for others is definitely one of my love languages so for my birthday, I invited a few of my dearest friends to join me in an immersive Indian food cooking class with Meghna of Crimson Kitchen. Indian food has so many ingredients and layers to preparation that it can feel too intimidating, but Meghna has a beautiful way of making it so accessible, breaking down each component into easy steps and empowering each participant to understand and appreciate their part with such patience, attention and care that before you know it the kitchen has crescendoed to a beautifully orchestrated symphony and perfectly coordinated dance of tastes, smells and sounds. It’s intoxicating! The warmth, laughter and love of that evening will stay with me always. A cooking experience at Crimson Kitchen is a beautiful gift to give yourself or anyone you love. Definitely recommend!

Discover the diverse flavors of world cuisines at Chef Joe's Culinary Salon, located in San Francisco's Duboce Triangle neighborhood. Easily accessible by public transportation, this culinary hub offers a range of classes that showcase Chef Joe's Italian heritage and coastal California influences. From handmade pasta workshops to sessions on traditional Italian dishes and coastal Californian cuisine, students can immerse themselves in a variety of cooking techniques and flavors.
Oh my gosh, what a great way to spend an evening. We took the fish cookery class so we used three types of fish to poach, pan fry and bake using parchment paper. With each one, we prepared a different sauce or side using fresh herbs, grilled peppers and veggies. Each one came out perfectly and I feel ready to try them at home. Chef Joe is wonderful and charming, and fun was had by all. He's running a professional kitchen, and you're about to eat the food you have prepared, so you must be on your toes and not screw around! There's plenty of fun to be had, but at crunch time, you'll want to be mindful that there is a seriousness to cooking. I highly recommend Chef Joe's school and look forward to taking several more!
Shelley C — Google review
Chef Joe has so much knowledge to share and makes classes fun for all in the process! I’ve taken a few baking classes and a pasta class so far, and they’re not too crowded, and you get to meet new people as everyone works together. Always plenty to eat and some leftovers too. If he does online classes I’ll definitely be signing up with my friends and family!

My first-ever cooking class did not disappoint. Chef Joe is a talented chef and a dedicated educator. The in-class experience is fun and fast-moving with Chef Joe supplying everything you need, including the jokes. He has a teacher’s knack for making the complex seem simple and making concepts stick. Two months later, I still cut onions and julienne carrots the way Chef Joe taught me: finely and carefully!
