Live music venue

Restaurant
Bottom of the Hill is a popular live music club located at the bottom of Potrero Hill in San Francisco. It's housed in a 1911 two-story Edwardian building and offers outdoor seating. The venue hosts live music performances seven nights a week, featuring a diverse range of genres from indie rock to hip-hop, as well as folk, punk, alternative rock, and even country.
Nice rock venue. Great sound—could hear all individual instruments clearly (and loudly) though I’d prefer clearer vocals. Can’t have it all. Workers are friendly and the audience had a good, non-pushy vibe for my shoegaze-y show. I had a Bottom Burger (bacon, cheese and garlic). Food is made to order and thoughtfully made from supermarket supplies. Will do the job if you’re hungry.

My review of three stars is based on the sound quality of a concert. I want to to go see Sir Woman. I have seen this band play at the mint in Los Angeles as well as another venue in Los Angeles and they have always sounded incredible. But the sound guy was off and unfortunately the show wasn’t as good. Overall, the venue seemed cool and very eclectic. And I’m really happy that Potrero neighborhood has this music venue.

Went last night. Liked my chicken tacos! The music sounded great. It was a huge sound, but it didn't hurt my ears- I'm pretty sensitive about ear stuff. I was the designated driver so didn't get to drink more than redbull and soda, the staff were really nice and didn't hold my terrible order against me. Great back patio and art everywhere.
Rick H — Google review
I've seen many great shows at Bottom of the Hill over the years. Some of the friendliest bartenders you'll find anywhere. Great intimate venue to see bands on their way up before they "graduate" to the larger venues.
Jeff L — Google review
Amazing venue, great cocktails, fantastic music , sound and customer service. Absolutely love the people who work here ❤️
Aliah J — Google review
Dope Venue, nice outside patio chill area, and plenty of street parking. Also, the bathrooms are very cozy and the food is really good. We had the chicken quesadilla, portion was for 2. It was deliciously toasted with fresh chicken and very cheesy. It came with guac and sour cream. We would definitely be visiting this place again for dinner and a show!!

I just wanted to see shows here 10 years apart. That sounds good in police are nice

Went here on 4/27 to see some local bands with 107.7 The Bone, abd they rocked! Place had some kooky decor and weird movies playing on one of the TV's above the bar. They had food, but the place to order and pick up were across a narrow hallway from the stage, so I had to time it in between sets.

Situated in the heart of San Francisco's Civic Center neighborhood, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is a versatile venue with a rich history. Originally part of the 1915 Panama-Pacific Expo, this four-story, 300,000-square-foot space has been home to various events and performances over the years. Renamed in honor of renowned rock promoter Bill Graham, it now hosts large-scale music concerts featuring popular artists such as Jack White and Lady Gaga.
Beautiful music venue. Easy under ground parking. Saw the yeae year not a band I would see again. Left in the first half hour. Great venue.
Shawn B — Google review
Someday I should try to figure out how many venues are in San Francisco because even though I’ve lived here for decades, there are still some places that are new to me. Cue Bill Graham Civic. This is a beautiful building on the outside and very easy to access via BART. Parking is also close but getting out of the parking area after a concert is nightmarish. The inside of the building is not as beautiful but it has a certain charm and the seating/stage area is great. It’s easy to see, easy to navigate and we had a great evening. My one big complaint: The sound quality was terrible and it felt like a problem with the sound crew and not the acoustics. The bass level was over amped and very muddy and actually ruined the quality of the music. Everyone in our group noticed the poor sound and I’m surprised something like that can happen. I’m very curious if it was just a “one off” or if the bad bass sound is for other shows. What has been your experience? Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate

Nice concert venue in the Civic Center Plaza! There's a garage nearby but leaving the venue is slow. There are some free street parking around the area at night but like everywhere else in SF, don't leave belongings in your car. The venue is big and the show I went to were all general admissions. It's nice that the seats they had on the 2nd floor were all general admission as well! They have bars on the 1st and 2nd floors. Prices are the same as any other venue: expensive! Lots of framed photos from previous artists and acts on the 2nd floor hallway! The acoustic was good but I think the bass might have been slightly louder or it could've just been the mixing too. There was only one merch stand but staff were really good at handling the traffic and line. Had fun at the concert and hopefully will be back again for more shows!
Lennon G — Google review
Visited this venue for the Le Sserafim concert and was overall a pleasant experience. The exterior of the building is beautiful and right in front of a park. Compared to a stadium, this location is more intimate and you get a fair viewing of the stage from almost any section. There’s a bar and food stand on the first floor before the show. This review gets one less star due to a pizza I ordered from here that left me with an upset stomach the next day so just a head’s up.

Went to Bill Graham to see Amyl and the Sniffers and Turnstile. Great venue for this kind of show. Bathroom access for 9000 people could be improved but otherwise great venue!

We were there for the Dead and Co 60th Grateful Dead Anniversary. The merch stands were well run with many choices. The line went pretty quickly. The staff was friendly.

The Great American Music Hall, a historic concert venue in San Francisco, has a rich and colorful past. Originally opened as Blancos in 1907, it served as a bordello and gambling establishment before transforming into the high-class Music Box nightclub. Over the years, it has hosted legendary performers such as Sarah Vaughn, Count Basie, Van Morrison, the Grateful Dead, and Arcade Fire.
Great spot for shows! Beautiful decor and ceilings. Intimate setting to see your favorite band up close and personal. Balcony areas as well for great stage views.

Beautiful venue. Went to see Don Carlos in June 2024. Will be back for more shows! Just stay safe with the surroundings outside. Best to walk with another person or a group at night. Parking can be hard as well. Suggest Uber or taxi to and from venue
Kent G — Google review
Great venue although merch table room by venue was cash only and ATM didn't work. The place has cool ceilings and mirrors along with wonderful sound. PSA: wearing a cowboy hat to a show is rude. Be considerate of how much space you are taking up.

This is an Iconic SF Theater! Beautiful architecture, wonderful Sound and wonderful Staff!! I was lucky enough to attend a Chris Cornell Benefit here for Suicide Prevention ❤️ with Rusty Chains!
Neva R — Google review
It's beautiful inside. Sound is great for a Small place. Tickets for my show were super cheap at $30. I saw Steely Dead, a great fusion tribute band. The bar was never packed. They kept water with cups on the end. I ordered an $8 slice. Wow! The crust & sauce were true Italian style, with real cheese & fresh basil. Staff was super friendly & helpful. Bathrooms were clean & nice. Parking was free right out front with the exception of 4 -6pm daily street sweeping

Great place to see live bands. Never had a bad time here. Similar to The Fillmore but a little bit smaller. The bar area is tight but i do not drink anyway so never had an issue. Parking garage across the street so if there isn’t any street parking available the parking garage is close.
Johnby420 — Google review
Great venue. Beautiful interior. Fast bartenders allow you to stay focused on the show. The lady bartender upstairs was killing it! Mezcal paloma $14. Great sound. Plenty of options to enjoy the show: buzzy main floor, balconies with lots of room, rear mezzanine seating, etc. It's like Choose Your Own Adventure. Clean bathrooms, good door management. Love it all.
Alison C — Google review
This is a great venue for people who love noise more than music. If you've ever heard an exquisitely composed song and thought, "man, I sure would love to hear this blasted out of the loudest, tinniest, most blaring ceiling-mounted speakers imaginable, so much so that you struggle to hear the vocals or even any of the instruments besides the drums and maybe the guitar if you're lucky," this is the spot for you. It's also a fantastic place for people who can't get enough of cramped and crowded floor spaces with little to no ventilation on a humid day -- treating you to the one-of-a-kind experience of repeatedly being knocked and jostled around by everyone around you as you crane your neck in vain to get a passably clear view of the act you trekked through five blocks of the refuse-strewn wastelands of the Tenderloin just to see, all while dozens of rivulets of sweat enjoy a thrilling slip-and-slide adventure down the curvature of your back. I'm not sure if I'm the type of person who'd like any of those things, but I guess that person is out there somewhere and that they'd have the time of their life here.

The Independent is a cozy music venue in Alamo Square that prioritizes the music experience over extravagant amenities. With a capacity of 500, it offers an intimate setting for indie and emerging acts across various genres such as rock, pop, metal, rap, jazz, and more. The venue has hosted renowned artists like John Legend and Beck while also showcasing self-made talents.
This venue truly does feel different than all the other music venues I've been to. Something about the caliber of musician you can see, compared with it's cozy and small vibe is amazing and feels unique. I was able to see an artist that has 7 million monthly listeners in a room of only a couple hundred. The artist could see each and every one of us, and literally put his hand on the shoulder of the guy to the left of me. If you can see a show here, you should go, definitely.

Great venue... it's a classic though plan on standing for the show. The bat had a great selection, including my favorite bourbon to so for hours. Love this place... glad it's still in business all these years!

Super cute venue! Stage isn’t too high or too low, Immaculate vibes. The workers were super sweet! Bartenders super friendly! a few of them Complimented my Zheani shirt, and one showed me pictures of the mural they have in yard of the venue. Thank you for sharing and thank you guys for making my night a memorable experience! <3

This is a small music venue! Great for seeing some newer artists or indie groups with a smaller following. There’s some limited seating along the sides of the open floor, basically some benches. The bar is along the back, directly facing the stage. Small but clean bathrooms, well lit! The staff from the people checking tickets and IDs at the door to the bartender to the sound/light techs are all super nice and friendly. I’ve been there a couple times to see an indie adventure rock band and a German EDM group, acoustics were great each time!
Stephanie C — Google review
Great smaller venue to see a show in SF, cool vibe, nice employees & quick bar service!
Bill K — Google review
Really excellent intimate venue. Standing room only, one bar at the back. Crowded but always a good view of the artist!!
Chloe C — Google review
The Independent in San Francisco is a great venue that has a friendly staff. Great place to see a big name in a smaller venue. The bar service was fast and friendly with a reasonably priced drink special menu. The parking was easy on the street. But there are a couple of parking garages nearby. They also allow in and outs for smokers.

The Boom Boom Room is a vibrant and lively club that takes you back to the funky 1970s with its live funk, jazz, and blues sets. Unlike other upscale venues, this place exudes an authentic old-school vibe reminiscent of underground dance halls from the past. The sultry and soulful blues music creates an intoxicating atmosphere, making it a haven for live roots music enthusiasts.
Cool small venue. OK selection of craft. Neat how they opened the curtain for the musicians. All star late night jam band with Reed Mathis and Joe Marcinek was awesome.

Really great music, nice bouncers but the bar are subpar. Bartender asked us if we wanted a particular brand of vodka and I told him I didn't care. Should've just thrown out the name of a cheap brand because I remember it being around 45 bucks for 4 shots. Don't know if this place just has insanely high prices or he scammed us but quite disappointed. NEVER encountered prices this high.

Walked in waiting for Fat Tuesday music. Needed a drink. Ordered Arnold Palmer special. Yummy drink and reasonable. Tuesday is Jazz Night. Bring cash $20 minimum for cards! Great band Gamper Drums.

Bad service, rude bartender. The bartender with long wavy hair was unprofessional and disrespectful. Killed the vibe completely. Won’t be coming back. Music was good though.

Very unfriendly and extremely unprofessional bartender — avoid this place. The music was actually really good, but the staff completely ruined the experience.

Super FUN venue, 5/5! If you love live Blues, you've got to make time to get in here. Gets going around 10pm, show up early for seating. If you have guests from out of town you absolutely have to take them here! Right up there with Chicago and New Orleans for live, local entertainment!

SFJAZZ, located in the vibrant Hayes Valley of San Francisco, is a renowned nightspot that offers live performances by internationally acclaimed jazz artists. The center, which opened in 2013 as the first standalone building dedicated to jazz performance and education in the US, features a state-of-the-art concert hall along with rehearsal spaces and classrooms for jazz education programs.
I just attended my first event at SF Jazz to see Chris Botti perform, and it was an incredible experience. The venue is small and intimate, with a beautiful setup that allows you to clearly see the performers no matter where you sit. The seating design is excellent—elevated tiers ensure great views, beyond the floor seating with chairs. Before the event, you can enjoy wine, cocktails, and sodas upstairs and small bites in the lobby area, and you’re allowed to bring your drinks in plastic cups into the performance. The atmosphere was fantastic, and transportation was easy—getting an Uber or Lyft to and from the venue was seamless. Parking can be challenging in that area at night. We had such a great time and will definitely return for another performance soon!

This is a great jazz venue. The Miner Auditorium was purpose-built for excellent acoustics and not a bad seat in the house. SF Jazz is one of the many venues in San Francisco that makes it a great music city.

SFJAZZ is a great place to see music shows. The hall is a great for small venues. You will definitely have a good seat for any show that comes around. The auditorium is good for large shows with that family feeling. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

An intimate venue, where no seat is too far away, and the acoustics are excellent. We watched Pink Martini today. The 12 member band was cozy on stage, and we were comfortable I was our seats. The staff is amazing, kind and helpful. The auditorium has a bar on the second floor. Having been to other venues in San Francisco, we recommend the Miners Auditorium.

Located in San Francisco's North Beach, The Saloon is a historic blues bar and live music venue that has been around since 1861. It is known for its relaxed vibe and diverse crowd, attracting bikers, beatniks, poets, and blues fanatics. The no-frills establishment offers great music and friendly bartenders without any judgment.
This place have an amazing atmosphere, the music, but is almost drink place with not the special one, only drinks less than 10buvks. But, I love and is a experience you must go!

What a treat! We just saw Mitch Polzak here last night and the level of energy and presence he brought was outstanding. Super intimate close standing room with some surprisingly good sound. They started playing at 930pm. Lots of dancing. Vibes all around. Cash only bar for some standard bottled beers. Definitely come here for great live music and check their website for the artists schedule.

The Saloon is a lively bar with a great atmosphere, especially for those who enjoy live music and a throwback vibe. One of the highlights is seeing patrons dressed in vintage clothing, which adds to the charm. People really get into the music, often taking to the dance floor to showcase their moves. The overall vibe is nostalgic, creating a unique experience that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. The energy is infectious, making it a great spot to enjoy live performances and watch people dance the night away.

I come to the city twice a year from LA. This is a must when visiting!! The music is phenomenal!! The service is great, no complaints… but this was the first visit in a hundred and Sean wasn’t here with his precious chihuahua. Greatly missed, my guy! Safe travels back ~~ Until next time. Tip the band, well!!! It’s free FFS,

We recently concluded our visit to the establishment. Initially, the first round of drinks amounted to $13 for both. However, we observed an unexpected increase in price for the second round, despite ordering the same drinks. Despite this minor setback on New Year's Day, we opted to focus on enjoying the exceptional music. Additionally, there was an incident with one of the bartenders, a stout individual, who exhibited rudeness when I attempted to capture a photo of the bar, stating firmly not to consider taking any photographs. so be prepare for that if you’re planning to visit.

Club Deluxe is a small, intimate nightclub located near San Francisco's iconic Haight & Ashbury street-corner. Despite its proximity to the area's famous hippie culture, the club offers a different vibe with soft lighting, wood-paneling, and vinyl booths. Since 1989, it has been a hotspot for live jazz and swing music, attracting both locals and visitors. The venue also serves delicious pizza and cocktails while exuding a vintage 1930s New York City ambiance.
Very cozy, very old school, great music and good drinks selection. This makes for an excellent night of introspective music listening if alone, or a great spot to hang out with friends

Fantastic! This place has everything you need for a good time enjoying swing. Feel free to get on the dance floor after you’ve had the mojito.

Reliable joint for live music, not to mention good drinks and good service. Vibe is as old school as that giant cash register behind the bar. Highly recommended stop to make on Haight.

The Chapel is a unique music venue and bar located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission district. It was originally a chapel that has been converted into a vibrant space featuring a 40-foot arched ceiling and an excellent sound system. The venue hosts live music acts from diverse genres, including performances by the renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band. In addition to the music, visitors can enjoy French, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisine at the on-site restaurant called Vestry.
Ok so this is a time when we need art and community more than ever so this feels like a sacred place. If I was in my twenties I would come here all the time in order to preserve it “for future generations”. I am in my forties and do appreciate a good sit down and maybe not have the energy to stand (or stay)all night plus driving back and forth 2.5-3 hour round trip. There’s not really any seats but the atmosphere is 11/10, reasonably priced drinks and nice staff all around. A win for humanity.

I liked it as the service was good. Only main complaint is that it was dark. This is my third time there. I think the drinks were a little expensive. ) Though my drinks were free because of an event I attended.) The food was very average. All in all, a nice venue with a good stage and some great people were there. Parking sucked!

Spooky vibrations, but beautiful people, great sound. Old mortuary. Must be built over burial ground, or ancient spring/deep fissure.

This is one of the best small venues in SF. The sound is always good, staff are friendly, and the mezzanine space is my fav. They have a lot of fun musicians/bands coming through here as well. Just pick a show and go if you've never been. :)

We celebrated my partner's birthday here and combined it with seeing Fleetwood Macrame. Total success. The staff here were super flexible, prices super reasonable, and the vibe was super chill. First, the core team ate at Curio. Great meal in a super cool setting. Then, the staff dressed up the Private Dining Room super elegantly. Pro tip - bring your own LED candles and 3-5 flower arrangements to make the room sparkle. We started the bday festivities with their apps - so good. Then we brought in our own cake, and they were super on it with plateware, forks, etc. Also had them pour their bubbly, which was a Spanish Cava was really good and super elegant in champagne flutes. The staff made sure empty glasses & plates were bussed right away and it was a quality operation. Our guests also bought tix for the show, so they drifted in and out of the concert to the equally elegant bar or dining room for conversation and really solid drinks from the bar throughout the night. Overall, all the rooms have incredible charm, the staff are super excellent (and you know that from the positive way they all work together - such a good vibe staff!), food is solid, drinks are excellent and the intimate music scene in the Chapel itself is unbeatable. Hope these folks keep on keeping on for a very long time - a very special place!

Bimbo's 365 Club is a renowned music venue that exudes the glamour of the 1950s era with its red velvet decor and elegant chandeliers. A great, intimate venue for watching live music. I'm middle aged now so I really appreciate the elevated tables and chairs that line the sides, which makes it much easier to get through a whole show. The bar menu is quite pricey, $15-20 per drink, so if you're planning on drinking, be prepared to pay, or pre-plan accordingly at another location. But the staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. I really enjoyed this venue.

The bathroom is fully stocked and super clean. The audio is good and the mixing is well done. They allow small bags in and have a lot of seating

It's intimate, yet large enough for a decent crowd. I saw Marcin there, and the sound was excellent! There's even tables for us older folks to sit at, and they offer great views of the stage.

I went to Bimbos’s to see one of my favorite artists, Wallice perform when she was opening for JAWNY. I think it’s one of the best venues in the city, because it combines this old school feel with very new contemporary artists. The drink selection is a little limited, but the acoustics and the closeness you can get to the stage more than makes up for it. I would love to go back here and have a meal sometime, because it is such a cool venue. If you have a choice to see any show here, I would jump on it, because it’s one of the funkiest venues in San Francisco.
Brian K — Google review
This venue is absolutely beautiful! It’s giving old Hollywood glam. The sound was great and the staff is very attentive and helpful. The ladies bathroom was clean and very cute with the vanities! My only cons are the food and drinks! The food options are extremely minimal. We were starving the whole show! Might I suggest options like wings, salads, pepperoni and cheese pizza, chicken tenders, egg rolls. These are things that can be made quickly, fried, or warmed up as to not overwhelm the one person working in the kitchen. I think it’s imperative to have more and better food options. People are commuting from other cities, after work, and would like to chill and eat. Also, patrons would probably be more likely to buy drinks if they had food to soak up the liquor! Speaking of liquor, the drinks were subpar as well. Hate to criticize these aspects so heavily, but good food and drinks would’ve taken my experience to 100%! Will come back to see another show for sure. Just have to make sure I’ve already eaten and had my fill of drinks beforehand.

The Fillmore, a renowned music venue with a capacity of 1,199, has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. Originally a dance hall and later a roller rink, it eventually transformed into the iconic music space it is today. Over the years, it has hosted legendary acts such as James Brown, The Grateful Dead, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, and many more.
This venue was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Getting in with a breeze – entry was fast and the bag search was quick, but efficient, which made me feel safe and welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks were easy to order and I never had to wait long in line. Plus nagging some March was a breeze, two – no stress no long weights. Everything was well organized and it made for a smooth enjoyable experience from beginning to end. I even brought my 16 year-old and they did get ID, which is great. This was a 16 and over show. They Might Be Giants!!!

I live without a cellphone. On Sunday Sept. 7th, 2025 I went to the box office at 10:00AM. The ticket agent was extraordinarily helpful. “We do not print tickets,” they said. “How may I purchase a ticket and get into the show?” I asked. ‘We have to text the order confirmation to someone. Are you going to the show with other people?’ “Yes, but I don’t want to bother them yet. If you text the order confirmation to my girlfriend, will I be able to get in without her phone?” ‘Yes. I’m going to write down the order number for you. When you come here, we can text your order to our phone and get you in that way.’ “Oh joy, rapture! One ticket for death Angel on Friday, December 19, please.” “$39.95 please.” “What? No way. Really? They are 70 bucks online.” (Smiling) “I’m usually here during the shows. But if I am not, and the ticket agent is reluctant to get you in this way, just push back a bit.” That was my customer service experience with the Fillmore. I have never seen a whack show at this location. I do not drink alcohol or smoke reefer anymore – the bartenders are awesome and are quick to serve me Athletic Non-IPA. We generally park two blocks south, 50 feet from the Starbucks. Keep your ticket with you as the parking garage will be locked after a certain hour and you will need your parking ticket to access. We typically leave the parking ticket in the vehicle when we go to shows elsewhere, but a bunch of us made the mistake of leaving it in the vehicle and then we had to wait three or four minutes after the Social D concert for another person to roll up. And if you’ve not been to this location, make sure you make it upstairs for the poster room. Thank you, Bill Graham. Thank you, Sunday AM ticket agent, whose name, according to Gemini “…is a feminine name of Italian and Hebrew origin, formed by combining the names Anna (meaning "grace" or "favor") and Lisa (a short form of Elisabeth, meaning "God is my oath"). The name embodies meanings related to grace, favor, and devotion to God, reflecting a modern trend of blending traditional names to create unique identities.”

Historic and historically cool venue that has great sound, friendly staff, and free posters. Only downside is the slow bottleneck of everyone leaving out one entrance down some stairs when the show is over.

A spacious venue with reserved seating upstairs in the balcony and on the floor, with up close views of your favorite artists. The line moved quickly, as multiple people were handling security and checking tickets. The drinks were pricey, as expected, but good, and the service was fast, which is what you'd expect from a venue. You can get as close (or as far) to the stage as you want, so you can get pretty close to seeing the artist you paid to see. The lighting is good, and the sound quality is also good, although it may have been a bit quiet on the night I attended. However, it was still loud enough to hear the artists clearly. The venue itself is adorned with posters from previous shows and has been well-maintained over the years. Overall, great venue, I would come back in the future!

Love this place! Small venue that's amazing to see shows at. Love the vintage feel and look. I love sitting way at the top so I can actually see since I'm so short. Upstairs bathrooms are a bonus since you don't have to walk all the way downstairs.
Porsche D — Google review
This is definitely one of the Bay Area's classic venues, with a stunning mid-century interior that feels like you're stepping into an old opera house. It has charm and character, no doubt. But once the place fills up with a few hundred fans and everyone's on their feet, it gets hot. There's little to no ventilation, and I found myself hoping they'd crack open some doors or have rooftop airflow--it was that stuffy as soon as the lights and music kicked in. For non-drinkers, water bottles were surprisingly pricey, and the alcoholic drinks were pretty mild, nothing strong. That said, I still had a great time chaperoning the kids to see D4VD and Bryant Barnes--the energy inside was amazing. Now for the tough part: the location. The venue sits in the heart of San Francisco's Tenderloin district, and parking or walking to and from the venue is not ideal. We parked at the Hilton, about four blocks away, and even then had to walk through streets that didn't feel very safe, especially after 10pm. There were a lot of unhoused individuals on nearly every block, many asking for money or trying to talk to passersby. Definitely keep your safety in mind when attending a show here, especially if you're with younger guests. All in all, a memorable night--but I'll really have to think twice before attending another concert at this location.

The Warfield is an awesome venue for concerts! Its large but just small enough to feel quaint and close to your favorite artists. You get an amazing view of the concert on the lower floor, but have never been up above. It can feel a bit tight on the bottom but if you get a standing spot next to the wall, its great to lean on! Reserved seats for disabled people is great too!

The Warfield is a great venue in San Francisco. It’s very easy to get to by public transportation, and once you’re inside, the size of the venue makes every spot feel close to the stage. Terrific intimate venue. Perfect place to catch an up and coming band close up.
James M — Google review
The venue is great for an intimate set and indie performers, however; I can’t say I truly had a good experience. The AC system (or worse, a roof leak) was constantly dripping down on anyone in the crowd to stage left throughout the entirety of the performance at random intervals. Being a standing-room only and the crowd being tight is by no means the venues fault, but just 5 minutes of randomly inconsistent drips felt like Chinese water torture. None of this even covers how unsanitary it felt having random roof water drip all over my head, face, and body for 2 hours. Would rather miss out on seeing my favorite indie artist make their only Bay Area stop than subject myself to that again. Major repairs needed.

Good food. Great atmosphere. Great live music. HOWEVER - Be aware of the time you arrive and when shows start. This was our first time as we just walked by, read the menu and decided it sounded fun! At the host desk we were asked if we had a reservation- we did not, so they said they’d “have to ask the manager if any tables were free” after some recon sounding calls on their phones, they responded “They said we can seat you.” We also were not aware that it was $45 per person for the music in addition to dinner but ok. We paid $90 to get in. What THEY FAILED TO TELL US AND COULD HAVE was that there was less than 30 min of music remaining. When the act was over and most patrons were leaving, we asked if there was a second act. Our server told us yes, but that we’d have to pay for another show. When we asked why we were charged full price for 20 min of a show, she offered us a discount of $30 each. Geez. The show didn’t start for another hour after the first one ended, so we declined. We let the hosts know that it was really poor service to act like it was some big favor that we were allowed in and to take our money for 20 min of music remaining. They apologized and said we could stay but we were pretty off put about the whole sleazy feeling thing. So if you go - just make sure you are aware of show start and end time first. It would have been worth it had we seen whole show. In house staff were attentive and food was good. I’d have given 5 stars for service if it was based on in house staff alone. For its proximity to Union Square, the food and drink prices are a value. I hope I can save someone else from experiencing what we did with paying full price for the tail end of a show.

We were SO EXCITED to be able to revive our annual tradition for celebrating the New Year at Biscuits and Blues! We had an amazing time and Steve (the owner) was hands on to welcome us back. The entertainment was great, the food was delicious, and we all had a great time!

We're so happy that they're open again. We recently saw Lydia Pense & Cold Blood and we had a great time. We had dinner here, which was really good! We had biscuits, creole jambalaya, shrimp & grits plus some wine. We met Tina, who we talked to before and after the show, and she was extremely nice. We'll be back!
Bruce S — Google review
Our first visit and we really enjoy the music and the owners were welcoming. What caused the 3 star rating is the food. The food was so bland and mediocre. In fact the biscuits served on the night we were there were so underwhelming and hard as a hockey puck. I was so ready for a southern experience. If the biscuits are not up to par, I recommend removing from the menu and not serving. Shrimp and grits need some adjusting and with seasoning and size. For $30 I expected an elevated dish. We will return for the music, not for the food.

Don’t count the price of the ticket to the show (which is VERY reasonable). The food/drinks also VERY reasonable. Great venue that features excellent music. Lovely owners and staff that go out of their way. Not a bad seat in the house. You’ll love it❣️

I was lucky enough to catch the opening week of biscuits and blues. Finally it’s back after being closed for a few years and it’s as good as ever. Sugar Ray Rayford was playing the evening I was there. Fantastic high energy performance, great band and music. The food quality appears to be very good and prices are reasonable for the Union Square area. I had the Caesar salad and the fried chicken, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed and the biscuits were absolutely fantastic. Service was efficient even though they were working out some opening kinks. I think they’ve kept the show prices as reasonable as they can. So glad to see the venue up and running. Best of luck to them for future success!

Black Cat Jazz Supper Club is a sophisticated jazz lounge and cocktail bar with two levels of seating, offering live music performances. Located in San Francisco's historic Tenderloin neighborhood, this venue has been praised as the city's most romantic spot by SF Magazine. Open six nights a week, it combines a supper club ambiance with live jazz music. The club's name pays homage to a legendary San Francisco jazz venue from over a century ago.
I really enjoyed my experience here. Please do not sleep on the Black Cat Jazz Supper Club. I had the pre fix meal: wedge salad, double smash burger (w/ fries that came with both ranch and ketchup) and for dessert a key lime pie. The drinks were delicate but strong in the best way. The service was swift and very courteous. The neighborhood is a bit rough but please don’t let that stop you from going. (If you don’t like cities what happens within the limits, please go visit Kansas). An SF staple, please visit and don’t miss out on some great jazz talent!

The tickets only get you in the door, then there's the minimum spend and the 22% service charge. The food was really subpar given the price, and the service was poor. They forgot about our drinks for a while. The music was the best part but I'd look for a different venue next time without $50 martinis, or the sketchy characters outside the door

The visiting band was great. Everything else was mediocre, and the hospitality was terrible. This establish hides fees in layers, ticket price, service fee for ticket, over priced food and drinks, 22% service charge, arbitrary minimum order amount, and then a really pushy attitude if you don't order food and drink at the pace you want. This ruins the whole experience. When asked the owner rudely tells me this is the cost of business, I should understand this is a business. This could all be solved if they were up front about costs, but instead they decide to hide it and make you feel like the idiot for not understanding how businesses work. If you want to listen to jazz music do so elsewhere.
K L — Google review
I struggled with how many stars to give in this review. The food was very flavourful and the service was exceptional, but I wasn't fond of the jazz group. To me jazz is classy, but this was a whole different experience for me. In my opinion, the music was definitely not classy. There was a lot of vulgar language used during the performance. As soon as we were done eating we asked for our check so we could leave. We did not want to stay to end of the performance. We paid $45 per person for our reservation, and another $90 per person for dinner and one drink. For the price we paid it would have been nice to enjoy a good performance.
Nelda F — Google review
The atmosphere, considering the vibe outside, was classy and tastefully elegant. The music was a bit too loud, though, it's a low ceiling environment, with the walls keeping the sounds reverberating! The food wasn't super good, and yet, we were there for the music, but it was well seasoned, with the only flaw being the difference in pricing from the online menu. Overall, it was a good scene and an excellent way to spend a Friday Night in town!

Arena
Stadium
Chase Center, located in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco, is a state-of-the-art indoor arena that opened in 2019 and serves as the home of the NBA's Golden State Warriors. The venue hosts a variety of events, including basketball games and live concerts featuring renowned artists like Stevie Nicks and Bruce Springsteen.
Saw Lady Gaga on her MAYHEM tour at Chase Center. Sold out show, but there were tons of lines to get through security and it went extremely fast. Lots of bathrooms throughout, and they were clean and well-stocked with TP and paper towels. We saw tons of bars on the way to our seats and though drinks were expensive, they tasted good and the lines moved quickly. Our view of the concert was fantastic, which made up for the almost $500 per ticket. This was my first time seeing Lady Gaga and she BROUGHT it. You’re not just paying for the music, you’re paying for the entire experience. The lights, sounds, and props were all amazing and really add to the experience. I can’t wait for my next concert at Chase Center!

This place is the most modern stadium I have been to. It is stunning and you feel like you are in a spaceship! We went to a Warriors game and it was such a super vibe. I especially loved the barriers being glass which makes a huge difference to visibility. The staff all around the stadium we happy and helpful. There are a lot of food options and lines weren’t overly long. We were sitting pretty high up in the stands and it didn’t seem to matter the views are brilliant from all the seats. The scoreboard tech is amazing and there are extra screens everywhere - it all adds to the show. Getting in was really easy. The merchandise store is so cool. So many things I wanted to buy! Overall this is a must do when in San Fransisco.

Attended the Laver Cup tennis tournament at Chase Center and the venue was overall excellent. Extremely courteous, competent security & gate staff. Comfortable seats. Light show between sets/matches. Food was OK not what other reviews claim IMHO. Driver exit to Hwy 280/101 S smooth. Parking is an issue. SpotHero app is extremely helpful. But ad hoc turns needed to reach garages have barricades but no directions that you should actually drive past them and police staffing barriers are unhelpful.

The Chase Center in San Francisco is an incredible venue, especially for esports. I had the privilege of attending the League of Legends Worlds 2022 finals, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was absolutely electric, with the crowd's energy making every moment, from the incredible opening ceremony to the five-game finals, a spectacle. The arena itself is modern and spacious, and the screen is massive, ensuring a great view no matter where you're sitting. While there was a long line to get in and for merchandise, the overall experience was well worth the wait. It was truly a perfect place to witness such a monumental event in esports history. I would recommend this venue to anyone, especially if you get the chance to see a major event like Worlds there.

I attended the Dua Lipa concert, and the experience was amazing! The Chase Center is a fantastic venue — clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Getting there was smooth too, though parking can be pretty pricey. I’d recommend planning ahead or considering public transport or rideshare instead 😉

This was my second time coming here. Earlier this year I saw Mary J Blige and now Lady Gaga this weekend. Easy access to your area where you are sitting, the staff and personnel were cordial. Food and atmosphere was relaxed and happy. Not so much stress from staff or other concert goers. The staff you can ask questions and they were happy to direct you. The only gripe I have is I wish they would accept cash at the registers for food and drinks. I would like to tip my bar tenders and food staff directly with cash and not on my card. I brought some specifically for it but I had to ask around for singles from a few so I can go back and tip directly to the staff a few dollars each. Since the staff only used a tablet to take payment I had to find staff who had already had some cash tips that small on hand. I understand the cashless society we are in now but it's still a form of acceptable payment. Until that goes away completely then it should be accepted. The view of the show was great and the exit was easy. Staff was able to show us out the exits and no craziness. Thank you for providing a CLEAN and safe atmosphere.

This facility is top notch. Clean, easy to navigate, with ample CLEAN bathrooms, and plenty of food vendors to choose from. If you arrive to your event early there is about 6 restaurants outside the arena you can grab a bite and wait. Or just take a walk on the property and enjoy the views.

Obviously beautiful. Steph hit a buzzer beater 3 that sent us to over time. As stadiums go this is very clean, easy to navigate with tons of exits. I took thr stair case down and was out of the building 3 minutes after getting up at the end of the game. They also have elevator access to 200 level seats. The merch store was well stocked and a fun visit

Located atop Nob Hill within the California Masonic Memorial Temple, SF Masonic Auditorium, also known as The Masonic, is a mid-century modern space that has been hosting notable music acts since its opening in 1958. With a capacity of around 3,300, this auditorium features tiered seating ensuring great views from every seat. Following a complete renovation in 2014, it now boasts a new concert stage and a specially designed sound system.
Saw August Burns Red, Trivium, and Bullet For My Valentine here last night. Awesome venue with multiple bars so there was no wait for drinks at any time. It’s a bit smaller of a venue, but that just made the experience that much better. There wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Sound was exceptional, vibes were locked in, and I couldn’t have asked for better bands. The one issue we had was finding parking. I would recommend buying parking online for the Masonic Garage ASAP as it sells out quickly. Found a parking garage 2 blocks away, but they said my truck was going to be $80 instead of $50 because it was “oversized”. Despite that, I would 100% come here for another show.

This really is a beautiful building. Loved the general admission area. There are little tables for food and drink. There is also seats lower level and balcony seating. The audio and video systems worked well. Definitely will come here for more shows! The staff. Were super friendly and helpful and we also enjoyed the food and drink while we were there.

SF Masonic Auditorium – Concert Review Had an unforgettable time at the SF Masonic Auditorium! The venue is visually stunning—modern, clean, and intimate without feeling cramped. The acoustics were fantastic, with the sound carrying beautifully no matter where you sat. I went for a concert, and the energy in the space was electric. The tiered seating gave great sightlines even from farther back, and the lighting was on point. Security was efficient but respectful, and entry lines moved smoothly. That said… a moment of honesty for the comment section: I almost became a horror story on the third floor bathroom. The toilet I used had one of those ultra-low-flow setups that couldn’t handle even basic business. I had to flush it five separate times (yes, five) just to avoid leaving a national embarrassment. Maintenance, if you're reading this, please give that thing a tune-up before someone else loses the battle. On a brighter note, I was relieved to see the elevator was accessible and actually functional—big win for anyone with mobility needs or carrying gear. Overall, I’d definitely come back. Just maybe avoid the third floor restroom if you’re in crisis. Otherwise, stellar venue with good vibes, good views, and even better performances.

Stunning and intimate venue. I saw Japanese Breakfast here on 8/28 and I was happily surprised. It’s overall very clean, including the restrooms, nice bar options, and we had a great view from the floor.

First time there....great venue ...we didn't feel overwhelmed....bar had plenty of space and bar tenders to move us along for the show. Food was limited but I liked the turkey sandwiches....would be nice if they had more options but it held me over til House of Prime Ribs.

I really liked the performance, and the venue was nice, BUT, a few things could be improved from my perspective. I like the seating set up, however, because so many of the seat numbers were missing it was difficult to find the correct seats. There was definitely some CBD wafting through so heavily I could smell it on my clothes after I'd left. Other than that parking and reservation fees seemed steep. 🫤oh, and REALLY have to squeeze into parking spots. They are definitely tight. Bring your small commuter car and not the luxury one.
Tammi C — Google review
Cool intimate venue. Had seats in the balcony and they were excellent. My only minor complaint would be the spacing between seats is pretty tight, but that is pretty normal

Dawn Club is a classy and stylish jazz bar in San Francisco, offering a timeless space with great decor and ambiance. The venue features excellent live jazz bands every night, creating an awesome music experience. The cocktails are top-notch, with a fantastic selection of spirits including the finest whiskey and gin options. Despite being a bit pricey, the cocktails are well-executed and strong.
If your are looking for that amazing jazz night either solo, on a date, or with a few friends, this is the spot. Had an amazing night with live music and good drinks. Recommendations: check the website for upcoming acts so you know the type of jazz on that night. Reverse a table as this place always gets booked up, however we just walked in around 7:30p and were able to grab one of the high top at the bar. One recommend to the owners: expand your zero proof menu as more and more people enjoy those and some are limited on being able to drink alcohol.
Nirm L — Google review
Cool place! Had bebop style jazz as opposed to classic jazz, which I think is more enjoyable for someone who is not an avid fan. Great drinks and good service. Well worth the slightly inflated drinks prices, which given the great live music represent good value.

There’s no food but vibes are amazing. Everyone really enjoying the jazz music. There’s barely any crowd so no bumping shoulders. Everyone is all dressed up so it feels so classy. There’s a fee of $35 if you want to sit at a table but bar is open if there’s spots.

Nice relaxing lounge with vast and unique drink selections. They also had some delicious non-alcoholic options for us to choose from. The band for the evening wasn't great this time. The singer was very, very chatting with very long tangents and song introductions. The band was more of a weekday performance rather than a Friday or Saturday night highlight.

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time and finally got to do it this past Friday for an impromptu visit after a dinner in SF and it did not disappoint - live jazz music, great ambiance, and awesome staff. They have an extensive drink menu but mixologist Owen did a great job of helping me pick my drink order. Will definitely go back!

Wonderful classy jazz bar in downtown San Francisco. The ambiance is impeccable, the cocktails are fancy, albeit pricy, and the live jazz elevates the whole experience. Certainly worth a visit for a drink at the bar if you’re in the area. There are tables available by reservation in front of the stage.

We had an incredible time, and as par for the course, it got better as we drank. The music was on point. Top talent. The drinks were top-notch and a little pricey, but that was no surprise. We still came out spending much less than going to SFJAZZ. I had the Japanese whiskey tasting, and they do it right with a dropper for water, beer the cleans the palette, and a glass of ice. There is no food.

My husband and I noticed this new spot and decided to walk in and check it out. We were pleasantly surprised. It's a swanky, classy jazz bar with great decor and ambiance. We arrived too early to enjoy the live music, but the background music was great and at the perfect volume. Our server was friendly and attentive as was the hostess who greeted and seated us. The cocktails were excellent. Great date night location.

August Hall, located in a building dating back to the 1890s, has a rich history as a Victorian playhouse, underground parking structure, movie theater, and nightclub. The venue now features a restaurant with bowling lanes and an expansive event space with high ceilings and stained glass windows. Live music events of various genres are held regularly. The beautifully designed hall pays tribute to its historical significance at 420 Mason St., offering multiple bars for guests' enjoyment.
We recently attended a work event at The August Hall in San Francisco, where they rented out the entire venue, and it was fantastic. The place features a live band and multiple levels of entertainment—at least three floors of fun. There’s a spacious dance floor and a roomy balcony overlooking the band, providing a great view. Downstairs, there’s a fun area with ten-pin bowling, arcade games, and a bar, plus you can watch the band on big TV screens from there as well. Overall, it’s a super fun venue with something for everyone and highly recommended for a great night out!

I went to go see Clara La San and It was absolutely so amazing the venue was beautiful the line to get in was so soo fast & it went so smoothly too. Before even entering they even gave us wrist bands for 21 & over so I didn’t have to keep showing my id when I wanted another drink!! Over all the workers there & security were THE BEST AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING !! Best concert ever!!!!

I went to see a concert there. While the show itself was phenomenal, the venue should have done a better job with providing security to the people on the dance floor. This venue doesn’t enforce the ban of indoor smoking and public nudity/ dress code. Both are unacceptable. Or at least such private venue policy should be advised before one decides to purchase the tickets.

My family and I recently saw a show at August Hall, and we were incredibly impressed with this venue, especially their outstanding commitment to accessibility. My positive experience began weeks before the show when I reached out to inquire about accessibility accommodations. Seeing the show listed as GA, standing room, initially worried me, but Melissa from the box office was incredibly helpful via email, arranging for accommodated seating. Upon arrival, the wonderful service continued. Despite a slight mix-up with our group size for the reserved seating, the staff quickly and happily resolved it. They then escorted us to our seats, providing a helpful rundown of the venue's layout. Throughout the night, staff even checked in on us, ensuring we were enjoying ourselves. As someone new to mobility issues and still learning to ask for help, this kindness and caring was not only appreciated but deeply meaningful. Beyond the excellent service, August Hall is a fantastic place to see a show. The band sounded great, and the line of sight was excellent – even from our designated side seating, I had a clear view of the stage despite the packed floor. The balcony also offered great views. Bar service was quick and friendly, with reasonable prices for a venue of this type. And yes, even the bathrooms were remarkably clean for a music club! I would happily return to August Hall anytime for another show and am genuinely grateful to everyone there for making it possible for my family and I to have such a great evening together.

My favourite bar in the world! The best people work and come here. Kareokiki is so fun, everyone gets a chance to be a star 💖 and we love a bar where you have lots of space to dance!!!! The drinks are so good. And the water station is so accessible with a sign that tells you to drink water so I actually stayed properly hydrated!!! Happiest place on earth💞💞💞 Queer icons out the wazoo 💃

If I could give 0 stars I would. I came in to visit my sister for her bachelorette party. Most of us are gay or bi which normally wouldn’t be relevant but when we got off our party bus they asked if we were gay and then said we don’t let people in with party buses. Then they proceeded to tell us that it was normally a $15 cover but for us specifically it will be $30. When we asked if there was someone we could speak to they were all very rude and disrespectful. Never in my life. Don’t come here. They’re discriminatory. Because apparently if you don’t look gay enough you aren’t allowed in. Didn’t realize that, even in this climate you had to write, “I’m gay” on your shirt for you to be let in.

Didn't try the food, but drinks were delish. The bartenders working were also sweet and accommodating! The vibes when coming in were okay at first, but walking out to the open back patio, it was such a cool place. We started our night here to pre game and chill, and that we did! The heaters outside were perfect, especially for a cold SF night. Many queer folk around made it a super welcoming space. Would come again!

Very run down and cramped little bar. It has a slightly bigger outdoor section. Poor ventilation in both indoor areas. The restrooms always smells, its dark and dirty. The only good thing is it's LGBT friendly. The door person is usually friendly, depending on who. The bar tenders are hit and miss some are very nice and friendly, some are just plain rude and don't seem to want to be there.

The atmosphere is described as cozy and warm with dim lighting and a friendly, eclectic crowd that enjoys utilizing the dance floor. Small but cozy place. Wednesday night Jazz was amazing. The singer was Nora Jones-esque and she knocked it out of the park. Good happy hour too.

Delicious house beers and a charmingly macabre decor. We were told it was a jazz night but what we got was decidedly bluegrass (not our twist at ALL). Regardless, the stage, sound, and feel of the place were all dope af.
Smevin B — Google review
It's a cozy venue and I've enjoyed the live music there. The bar tenders are friendly and efficient. Seems to be a varied crowd depending on the night.
Phillip J — Google review
I love it here! There's music every night, including a lot of free shows (bluegrass on Mondays, jazz on Wednesdays) and cheap ones as well. Given how many bands they put on here, I'm impressed to say I've never seriously disliked a band I've seen here. I love that they do month-long residencies for artists so they can refine their work. It's not a full bar, so they only have beer, wine, and soju cocktails. But the beer selection is pretty good.
Jen J — Google review
One of the best sounding, quaint music venues in San Francisco. Lot's of great improvements have been done to a classic place to see live music (I've been coming here for over 15 years). Always a quality act on stage, too, not a bad night to be there. Bartender was very friendly and the beer selection is one of the best.

Awesome intimate venue with interesting acts. Bluegrass Mondays is a favorite, but just about any night there's an interesting lineup of local bands with either no cover or cheap covers. Good beer selection and funky vibe...great pace to catch a show.

Gotta love the live music and am there frequently for jazz and craft beer. Excellent selection of beer and fun upscale dive bar-ish decor. Also if you dance there is a contingent that comes to dance on the very tiny dance floor for the Wednesday evening live music.

No cover on Wednesday night. 1 star. Slow service. Minus one star. Barkeep was chatting behind the bar with a friend for about ten minutes while two or more customers were waiting. Gaucho, the swing band, was excellent. Mellow vibe. Great beer selection. The Wit was good and the nitro Stout also.

Cafe Du Nord is a historic former speakeasy turned into a vibrant space for live music, dining, and drinks. The venue exudes an old-school ambiance with deep red walls and Victorian-style mirrors, creating an intimate setting for eclectic musical performances. It's known for showcasing emerging artists across various genres and has become a hotspot for the under-21 crowd. With its full bar and restaurant, it's also a popular choice for date nights.
Great spot for good music. It gets warm so going without my jacket was the move. Great staff. Food not allowed inside so we just left it with the bouncer.

Just wanted to add some info here because the website is kinda unclear. It’s standing room only. There is a reserved ADA section with stools and also a little platform area with stools and bench seats for people with upgraded tickets (basically VIP). There is no food menu! It’s not a real cafe. The available food options are a medium cheese pizza or mushroom pizza. Maybe the toppings change, but that’s all they had last night. Also the website says no cameras but you can contact them for a photo pass if artists allow them, however I emailed twice and called twice and never heard back. The venue itself is nice though and had clean bathrooms!
Kurtis O — Google review
This place used to be cool. Whoever bought it, cleaned all the soul and style out of Cafe du Nord. Bummer man. It's still a good place to see a show, but the bohemian ambiance of the old place is gone. It's tough to specify exactly what changed, maybe the lighting is too bright, the club tables are definitely gone so it's basically just a box with a bar now. I guess you can squeeze more bodies in to make more money.

Perched atop the Mark Hopkins Hotel, Top of the Mark is a renowned cocktail bar offering breathtaking 360-degree views of San Francisco. Established in 1939, this historic lounge has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. During World War II and the Korean War, it served as a gathering place for soldiers. While its cocktail menu may not be the most innovative, it features well-executed classic drinks that pair perfectly with the stunning cityscape below.
Top of the Mark is an absolute must when in San Francisco. This iconic rooftop lounge has been around since 1939 and still holds all the charm, elegance, and history that made it famous in the first place. From the moment you step inside, the classic decor and sweeping views set the scene. You really feel like you are stepping into a timeless part of the city’s story. The vibe is refined yet relaxed with soft lighting, live music on some nights, and a mix of locals and travelers soaking in the atmosphere. And the views are truly incredible. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay, the skyline, and even the Marin Headlands on a clear day. Whether you come at sunset or later in the evening, it is absolutely magical. We ordered the tuna tartare and the steak and both were outstanding. The tuna was fresh and well balanced with great flavor, and the steak was tender and cooked just right. The cocktails were also a highlight. They were thoughtful, creative, and very well made. Top of the Mark is not just a bar or a restaurant. It is a San Francisco institution that combines history, great food, and unforgettable views all in one place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ Visiting Top of the Mark in San Francisco had been on my bucket list, and I was glad to finally experience it before our event. We were quickly seated with one of the best views, which was truly stunning. The food and drinks were excellent—delicious and well-prepared. However, the service was disappointing. It took quite a while for our server to arrive, and there was confusion with the check, which got mixed up with my friend’s. The delay made us anxious, as we were close to being late for our event. Overall, an unforgettable view and great food, but the service needs improvement.

A group of my coworkers and I were staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences (I know!) on a Tuesday night and decided to walk here for some apps and cocktails around 7. It was an uphill walk, so we were hungry! The restaurant is on top of the Intercontinental Hotel, you just go straight to the elevators and push the T button. The hostess greeted us right away, my coworker called beforehand to make a reservation & the hostess happily remembered. We were seated right by the window on the left side when you walk in, I rec the left side, but can't really go wrong with either. In the middle is where live music takes place but there was none happening that night. Service was fast and friendly! Miguel was very attentive! Espresso martini was more coffee than creamy which I can't complain bc it was so good & strong! A must are the short rib sliders!! Huge chunks of short ribs then shred perfectly when you bite into them! Also love the shrimp tacos! Those tortillas may be some of the best I've had! The homemade ranch chips were good, not much ranch seasoning but good to snack on while drinking. Margarita flatbread was tasty as well. They also have an asparagus flatbread I want to try next time. Has an old school rich vibe to the place, carpet floors always give a vibe. Overall a great place w yummy food & drinks. Just like anywhere in SF, it's pricey! For three drinks & 3 apps for 3 people it was about 141$ including tip. But worth it for a night out!

I would get service a five star but it was a busy night. They forgot about us and they didn't serve us right away. At this time we were VIP table. And I didn't feel like we were treated like one. But I still had a lot of fun and I would recommend this place in an heartbeat.

Pier 23 Cafe Restaurant & Bar is a family-run establishment located on the Embarcadero, offering a focus on seafood and outdoor waterfront seating. The menu features items like salads, tacos, and crab cakes, complemented by good beer and stiff cocktails. While it's not known for its food as much as its live music, Pier 23 is a popular nightlife spot in the area. Visitors can enjoy nightly live music from local jazz and blues artists while taking in stunning bay views.
We were on a cruise and decided to stop by before reboarding our ship and Pier 23 did not disappoint. Their fish and chips are delicious and are enough to share with another person. Their fish tacos were also good and reminded us of Baja tacos. Beer was nice and cold, service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Pier 23 is a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat and watch the boats (and life) go by! I sat in a section without an umbrella, and it was ok. But had I been in little earlier I would have scored one of the good seats on the deck with one. Perhaps they could rig something up for the bar seats along the edge facing the water to have shade. These, in my opinion, are the best seats on the house!

Visited here for lunch. There is both inside and outside seating. Outside seating comes with gorgeous view of San Francisco Bay and also coit tower. We ordered vegan tacos. It was filled with cauliflower, beans, cabbage, salsa etc. it was very tasty. Service was very good. Great place to chill, relax and enjoy the view while eating tasty food

Pier 23 Cafe has been a waterfront favorite for years, and living nearby, I still enjoy stopping by when the weather is nice. The restaurant sits right on the Embarcadero, with outdoor tables stretching to the pier's edge and a casual, lively atmosphere that always feels welcoming. On my last visit, we were greeted with a smile and quickly seated out back, where the porch offers a partial but beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay. The vibe is relaxed, the service is friendly, and the food comes out quickly. The cheeseburger stood out as the favorite at our table, though everyone was happy with their meal. This is a great spot for brunch, lunch, or just drinks and snacks by the water. If you’re walking along the Embarcadero or visiting Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 23 Cafe is an easy choice for good food, good drinks, and a great San Francisco setting.

Great food! Only helpful suggestion would be is to have designated server sections. It got a little odd having different servers come and ask if we’re ready to order. Having your own designated server would be a lot more comfortable. Keep up the great work!

There’s nothing worse than a restaurant that gives itself a 20% tip for average service. You have no choice here if there is 5 people or more, you are going to be slugged an addional 20% and then asked if you would like to give a tip on top of that. You can read it in the fine print on the menu, in light grey text against the white paper!! Please tell me what the hell this is for? Apparently “ every Restaraunt in San Francisco does it” .. well why not be different and give great service for tips instead of standard service because you know the tip is included already. Food was ok, typically overpriced for the area and definitely on the greasy side so ask for extra napkins. Service was standard and ok, nothing extraordinary. The guy who brought the food out basically threw the meals down randomly and didn’t say a word. Chocolate mousse very rich and not enjoyable. There are better options around the area.

Absolutely the worst dining experience ever. Waited at the table for about 15 minutes before someone came over. The table was dirty. and the check from the previous customer still sitting there. They didn't clean it off. I asked for water and he pointed to a bottle on the table. "How about some glassed with ice"? No silverware either. He seemed anger that he had to do something. The sandwich came and there was black soot all over the meat. I told the waitress and she told the manager. The manager came over and asked if I was going to eat it. I said no and all she said was sorry. REALLY! I had to ask for the bill 3 times. Don't waste your hard earned money here!!

Jazz club
Restaurant
Bix is a renowned restaurant and bar in the city, offering an elegant 1930s ambiance with live jazz performances every night. The establishment prides itself on its American-French cuisine and high-quality dining experience. Named after jazz trumpeter Bix Beiderbecke, this supper club features a swanky speakeasy-style setting and hosts the Bay Area's top jazz musicians seven nights a week.
We love Bix. It is such a lovely art deco restaurant with a feeling of old elegance. The food is always good, the drinks great, and the music enjoyable. We had the duck confit and bavette. The French fries are possibly the best we have ever had.
Kristina — Google review
We had a nice dinner at Bix. I ordered the veal pot pie, which had a French-inspired flavor, but it wasn’t my favorite. The arugula salad was good, and the bone marrow was excellent. Cocktails were solid and fairly priced. There was a live jazz band, which added a great touch, but the noise level downstairs made it hard to hear. I’d recommend sitting upstairs if you want to have a conversation. It’s a formal-casual spot. Parking can be tough, so reservations and street parking are a good idea. Overall, a good experience.

This is a very good place for last minute plans. The food was good but the service was very good. The atmosphere and music was amazing. I wish the food was a little bit better so that I could give them an overall 4 star. Thank you for your great service.

We keep coming back for special occasions, a bit pricey, food delicious. Both my husband and I always get the lobster spaghetti, they didnt have POM juice for a Martinee but were accommodating and made one with fresh watermelon juice. Great customer service, 1 waiter per 2 tables.

Really nice upscale restaurant. We came with a big group and the big circular tables are great for big groups. I tried the duck and it was delicious. All of the appetizers we tried were bomb as well. The bone marrow was melt in your mouth good. Give this place a try.

Had a lovely late dinner here on Saturday. Old-school elegance with great jazz accompaniment. Hidden down an alleyway in Jackson Square. Had great service and loved the sweet potato appetizer, although the chicken hash was mid. Bright with high ceilings.
Julia E — Google review
Dining at Bix in San Francisco was an exceptional experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. The ambiance of the restaurant is elegantly reminiscent of a bygone era, with its dim lighting and classic jazz tunes played by a live band. It sets a perfect mood for a sophisticated dinner. During my visit, I indulged in a culinary delight that started with a refreshing cocktail recommended by the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Although the specific dishes I ordered escape my memory, each course was exquisitely prepared, capturing the essence of fine dining with flavors that were both complex and satisfying. One of my favorite aspects of the evening at Bix was the seamless blend of excellent service and delightful live music, which truly elevated the dining experience. The attention to detail and the warm hospitality of the staff made the evening memorable. In summary, Bix is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience that combines the best of gourmet dining with a touch of nostalgia. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special night out in San Francisco.
Louie S — Google review
In and out under an hour, rushed and loud. Never asked if we needed more cocktails. Started with appetizers which were good, but rushed. As soon as he dropped them he wanted an order for the main course. We ordered the veal which was under flavored and puff pastry was not inflated, chewy and undercooked. Too much cream and too much runny sauce for a pot pie. Had the short rib which had more flavor but again they came over to drop off bread 3 times and never asked if we needed anything. We asked for the check and sorbet was brought with the it, ?lemon because it lacked flavor. The tables are constantly being rebalanced as they wobble, people are shoulder to shoulder at larger tables. Even the tables next to us the poor guy was on the ground leveling it. There are a million restaurants in this city and you should find a better one but here. Inconstancy in the way taxes are presented n every check. And to end the fruit flies 🪰 are horrible and when we addressed it with the staff he seemed annoyed and angry. Lastly, watch where they add the mandatory taxes as this establishment taxes you on top of the healthcare mandate. Extra money in their pockets and they don’t pay for healthcare in most establishments. Not sure how they get away with this

Night club

Live music venue
Monarch, located at the corner of 6th and Mission, offers a unique experience with its vintage-inspired design. The main-floor cocktail bar exudes a retro vibe, while the basement transforms into a lively dance club. The underground dancefloor boasts an exceptional Void Acoustics sound system and an electric atmosphere. Upstairs, guests can enjoy quality cocktails in the lounge or discover a secret private room behind an unmarked door for a more intimate setting.
This dance club is fun from beginning to end. There are multiple ways to enter. I recommend entering from the Pawn Shop. There are multiple rooms, each with their own unique design and vibe. The staff are friendly and helpful. Watch your step when coming and going through rooms! The larger dance floor is super loud, which is great for dancing. But get this - near the dance floor there are velvety padded enclaves behind the speakers so that you can rest and talk to your new love interest without screaming at eachother. What a bonus! The neighborhood is sketchy though. (No comment on the adjoining restaurant because I didn't eat there.)
Caroline H — Google review
Nice bar (the bar is great) great staff, great atmosphere, but the downstairs masquerade party is dealing with a very whack young DJ- playing same beat on loop, with a completely empty dance floor (the whole time), and refused (the only) request (for a birthday song- White Horse) for a group of 12 people, with masquerade masks, who came to dance, drink, celebrate, and have fun. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 People are sitting standing and waiting around, waiting for a better DJ. Hopefully they’ll switch out soon. The upstairs DJ is better. Stay upstairs! Spending zero on drinks.
Joelle C — Google review
Not the worst club I’ve ever been to but it wasn’t as cool as I expected lol The first room upstairs with a dance floor was entirely empty, and then there was another room next to that with a dj and a third room with a dj downstairs. The crowd was kind of weird and it seemed a bit dead? Not a lot of people and the people that were there were all older. I went with a friend and we’re both 28 and it seemed like we were the youngest people there. Overall ok but I don’t think I’d go back. Cover was $10 and they have a free Photo Booth. Also the area/neighborhood it’s in is very bad. There are a lot of homeless people outside and standing near the entrance.

Cool bar attached to an awesome speakeasy. The nightclub itself felt somewhat dirty and uninviting. I'd recommend spending your time and money at sister Money Loaned/Pawn Shop.

Last Friday night, my wife was out with colleagues and asked me to pick her up around 11:30 p.m. When I arrived, a host unexpectedly took her phone from her hands and walked away without any explanation. A few moments later, when I called her phone to let her know I was waiting outside, the same person answered and told me that she was in danger and that something had happened to her. My daughter, who overheard the conversation, and I were both in shock. We rushed to the venue, terrified, and after a few tense minutes with security, the phone was finally returned to my wife. Everyone was deeply shaken by the staff’s behavior — we were trembling and even considered calling the police. No one even apologized. We still consider to file a police report. Please avoid this terrible place.

First night out in SF and this place was lots of fun! We came for some house music downstairs and it started out mellow around 10 and got packed by 11:30, had to go out for some fresh air a couple of times. The bartender that served us was awesome. The photobooth was super fun. We danced the night away and met some eccentric peeps. There is also a really cool speakeasy close by which is now my fav place for food and drinks.
Sisi C — Google review
If you are looking for a underground nightclub Phill this is a place to be. If you are more one who likes pop music is definitely won’t be your type. Be careful outside because there are extreme amount of homeless and drug use right as you walk out the venue.

Additionally, Madam Zolas Fortune, the onsite cafe, serves delicious summer-themed bites and drinks that can be ordered directly to your table via phone.
Great venue! I love that they have 3 bars and all bars are equipped with a water faucet and cups for self-serve water. Bathrooms were well stocked, though there was vomit in two of the stalls that I used. Getting inside was quick and staff was organized. Come early for parking as it's limited.

Nice place with some good open spaces and lots of bar access. It even has a nice balcony area that you can go to if it gets too stuffy on the inside. Only real complaint is that the restroom situation is quite limited. Once the place starts filling up, the restrooms are just way to small to handle larger crowds, causing the lines to become overwhelming long.

Space is ok, it gets extremely hot in there, they have a coat check idk how much, 3 bar areas, bartender was nice and margarita was good. Definitely needs better djs, Perreoland was not that good, the guy kept asking who is single and from the bay like 100x time, transitions weren’t good, you could definitely see most of the songs people were not vibing to it, for some reason the transformers mascots!? came down the stage and that just made it worse because there was no space at all and they wanted to walk towards the crowd and keep dancing. At the end a band showed up, no idea what songs they were playing but no one was dancing anymore and I think they playing this guitar. Wouldn’t recommend.

A place where you can enjoy live jazz every night of the week, Mr. Tipples Recording Studio is perfect for a date or a casual night out with friends. With an eclectic cocktail menu and southern inspired food from next door neighbor Hazel, it has something for everyone. The low-key, retro-influenced atmosphere is great for catching up with friends or just relaxing in one of the comfortable seats.
I came here for date night and wow this was such an awesome experience! We got the $20 pp best in the house seats and the $45pp tasting menu for SF restaurant week. Good: - The experience was just so well curated the moment you enter the door! It feels like you've just entered into a different universe, the place has a very speakeasy vibe, and dimly lit. - The artist playing had their birthday the same day! So it was fun to see them having fun while playing with their band - The food from The Fat Cat was amazing - the quality and the variety was great - the bao was amazing and so well proportioned, the short rib entree had a ton of flavor and crispy rice was so good. The dessert was amazing too - my favorite was the egg waffle with the ice cream. The sampler dim sum dish was so unique too - They have no alcohol CBD drinks! Haven't seen that yet in the city. Bad: - It does take some time to flag down the waiters since it's hard to see inside and we had to flag them down ourselves most of the time. - You can't talk during the set if you're sitting up front - it's way too loud and you also need to bring ear plugs Overall enjoyed this experience and getting to experience live jazz for the first time! I'd come again.

A lovely evening at this fun jazz place. The band was smooth and the drinks were fun. The food was surprisingly really good. Loved the pork and chicken wanton dumplings as well as the crispy salmon entree. Definitely going back for the ambience, the intimate music setting and the menu options.

Great experience for Jazz lovers, a must try place in San Francisco - lovely music, great food, delicious cocktails and impeccable service. Had such a great time at Mr. Tipple’s Jazz Club.. The live jazz bands were amazing, and the place has a really cozy vibe — not too crowded, just the right atmosphere to enjoy good music and food. The menu is mostly Asian cuisine and everything we tried was delicious — the chicken mushroom bao and chicken wontons were great, and the salmon with clay pot rice was the highlight. Service was fantastic — super friendly and attentive staff. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for another night of good food, great music, and chill vibes.

Great vibe, good music, good sound and good food ! My husband and I enjoyed our date night. What I worried most about was the food, but surprisingly good. I had a lot of dumplings and they came out all piping hot, steaming and it was juicy ! A cocktail I ordered was okay (I may try another next time), but my husband was happy and pleasantly surprised to find that the bar actually has a good selection of good whiskey. A big plus. I had a “music focused seats” in front of the band and I was glad I did. Seats are comfortable and feel great.

My partner and I came here Thursday night 11/06 from 7pm - 8:30pm. Made a reservation and everything. Everything WAS going well, lovely hostess, and great jazz band. However, we did not appreciate watching the servers go to everyone’s tables and just passing by ours, sitting in the front row mind you. We even went up to the bar ourselves and the bartender said our waiter will be with us shortly. Like just let us order??? Anyways nobody uttered a word to us until 25 minutes into our 90-minute reservation and we were finally able to order drinks and enjoy the jazz. I really wanted to love it here. Everything else was nice, overpriced but it’s SF. Maybe remind your waiters to attend all guests in a timely manner, not just those who frequent the place or are simply white.
Blanca C — Google review
Overall, I enjoyed the experience at this jazz club. There seemed to be plenty of local crowds that seemed to know each other. Cosmo Alleycats performed on the night I attended and they mainly played standards and widely known blues with a few originals in between. Unfortunately, the seats from the bar weren't great as some pillars and tables in front blocked the view. Drinks were decent, nothing spectacular, but the bartender was cool.

Good hangout place especially for people who loves pool. I am not sure how crowded this place can be but we got a table and play several games when we arrived around 4 pm on Saturday. It is only 2 dollars a game and you can purchase food and drink easily. You can even go to play a pool without food, but you will feel like you want to support the business. And the food is legit! I got a burger and it is delicious. I wish the patty is bigger even if a higher price. Still it is a solid burger with bacon and cheese. Tater tots is also great, crispy from the outside, piping hot and soft inside. Definitely a good place to hang out with a pub vibe.

Such a great place, I used to come here on Wednesdays after work to do all my billing and coding, which was a pain in the butt, but a martini made it easier. Cool bartenders. And the owner is a gem. Good music. And the biggest martini you’ve ever had. Make sure you get the olives

This place decided to kick a group of us out because we were there for more than 10 minutes and were too loud. Paid $10 cover to then be told to leave. Bouncers had a lot of miscommunication when one bouncer told us to leave and not come back, and then another told us to come back a minute later?? Really weird they kicked us out and not the guys that were touching my friends without their consent… I’ve heard of a lot of reviews from frequenters that the culture has become very cliquey and rude on the staff’s part. If you want a fun time, don’t go here…

Don’t come here often but yesterday will be the last time. Get there a few minutes before happy hour ended, put in our order before the deadline, took forever for our drinks because of a backlog and bartender was horsing around. charged full price. Was told $28 for two margaritas, and then charged $38… for a dive bar? At 8pm with like twelve ppl there? Out of your mind. The margs sucked too, screwed up on the type of tequila as well.

The bartenders are the sweetest folks you’ve ever had pour your a drink. The shows remind you of why the SF artist culture is so crucial to this city’s pulse. This is PianoFight, one of the absolute best places in San Francisco, hands down. Praying for this heart of our creative scene to pull through the pandemic. One of the places I’ve missed the most. So grateful for every moment I got to spend in this space. Hope to do it all again soon.

Very welcoming to first timers. Lots of creative juices flowing, along with cocktails, bar food and a great vibe. We saw The Infinite Wrench and loved every minute.

Fun, laid back place. Came on a Monday where they have free skits. Support local theatre by donation, buying food, drinks and tipping the bar guys. #localguides

Sweet bar with an awesome theater inside of it, a little edgy drinks, but they aren't too expensive so it's nice. I work a lot in photography and video around the city and they didn't give me any hassle at all which is really really appreciated. The doorman is a wonderful guy, and the bartenders are wonderfully knowledgeable and intellectual people. Look for their awesome music events and performances.

Fun venue in a rough neighborhood. Great space with good acoustics and they had a variety of shows going on. They book creative fun stuff and we had a great time. Rides can be tricky due to the one way streets and slowness of traffic even though we tried to get someone to come right to the clubs door we had to walk a bit for our pickup, so be sure to travel in a group.

This place is very cool, great atmosphere, nice people. The staff is very courteous and friendly. Drinks were good, watched a great show, we'll be back for sure.

We came here to see The Infinite Wrench, which was fantastic. The entire venue is decided into two sections: a more traditional bar with a stage and some seating, and then a small black box theater in the back. I can’t speak for the other events that are hosted in this space, but IW was great! It’s the kind of show that works best in a small black box setting like this, and I wish more venues would invest in spaces like it.

Great place to enjoy a relaxing drink with music! I've been here twice. Staff was upbeat and fun. Including the doorman, the bartender, and the musicians. There are a couple rooms in back that have shows. Haven't been to a show yet. I love the atmosphere here and will be back again!

Neck of the Woods is a popular live music venue and bar located in the Outer Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco. The venue hosts a variety of events ranging from live music performances to comedy shows and trivia nights. The space is intimate yet spacious enough to accommodate a good-sized crowd, and the sound system is impressive. The bar serves a variety of cocktails, beers, and other drinks at reasonable prices. Overall, Neck of the Woods is a great spot to catch a live performance or grab a drink with friends. The only downside is that parking in the area can be difficult to find

I actually like this place as it’s a multi level multi venue wonder. The drinks are good and priced right and the staff is really cool. I came here for the first to see my childhood friend and worldwide hip hop genius Planet Asia perform here upstairs on 2/28/25. The place has good space and is definitely a live music type venue and I like it. The sound system is nice and so is the lighting. This is a really cool place to check out some live shows. Only issue I had was a couple right next to me started smoking weed and the fans was blowing weed in my face choking me out as I’m a non smoker however I did let the couple know and they moved. Last I checked smoking indoors is against the law here and I think the staff needs to enforce that and occasionally make announcements on the mic about smoking outside. Otherwise this place is nice. Parking can be tough to find but it’s SF lol.

Staff is cool and the energy here is unmatched. One of the best spots in the city for live local talent and a fun night out!

Cool intimate venue. The ground floor had a ton of seating, which was very helpful. Definitely worth checking out.

This venue was great! The speakers get damn loud, so bring good hearing protection. Drinks are about the same price as any bar around SF. Restrooms are a bit small and are gendered, with one pair on both floors, and a single unisex stall downstairs. I appreciated having seating scattered around.

First and foremost shout out to Phora live lit performance I appreciated being able to see my guy live unfortunately the venue was inconvenient uninviting uncomfortable prejudice and an overall horrible feeling hated being in that place but for a person who makes honest stand up and inspiring and blessed music with a great message was awesome to see. But if you're a black man this is not a community or place or institution restaurant or anything you would want to spend your hard earned money on as being that the companies are entities that you're given into don't even respect you in the first place.

Wandered in to 'I Left My Heart in San Francisco' jazz rendition - was excellent, great vocals. Simple but decent food; spinach, walnut, blue cheese salad with turkey was good. Didn't try coffee.. won't be Blue Bottle, don't have a La Marzocco l, but probably passable. WiFi.

Great low key place to have wine and listen to a vast variety of music! They even asked me if I wanted to sing unfortunately I only sing classic rock and didn’t want to ruin the vibe! So if you’re reading this come sing 😊

Nice little café. We came here for live music on a Friday night. The place is really pretty small, and the musicians took almost half of the indoor space. But they also have tables outside from which you can enjoy the music, and the dancing can spill out onto the pavement. Wine and beer are available. Very nice atmosphere.

Growing up on the block this is still one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. It always feels like a real old school SF vibe. The staff and patrons are interesting and friendly... brings me back to a time before the iPhone. Alfresco ambiance is always great and the live music is where its at. You can hang here all afternoon into the evening.

Great place that hosts free music many nights; on a Monday, I watched a classical quintet play music by Mozart; yesterday (Sunday), I watched a four piece play Balkan jazz. Great cozy setting, with a lot of friendly people. Strongly recommended. Also- remember to tip the band, and buy a drink to support the cafe!

Saw MiaxAlly ♥️ magnificent. Venue was truthfully really nice. Already talking about returning. Venue's stage was small. Mia & Ally kept kicking the drum mic. Some seats were available which was nice. We parked at SFMTA and walked over, 15 minutes. Definitely easy to do. Car was super safe and so was walking. Not a lot of food choices, a walk to the taco truck and back and bless the door security, they allowed my burrito inside. I wish they'd had made arrangements for one at the site.

The café also boasts a hidden outdoor patio dubbed the 'Secret Garden,' where patrons can enjoy their food and drinks under the shade of a lemon tree.
Genuinely one of the best cafes I’ve been to in SF. Calm music, really nice people at the counter. The biscuits are DELICIOUS. The garden outside is really cool. Early October is the perfect time to visit.

A charming house with a cafe for a living room; the interior feels like a high-end music store—guitars hanging , high-quality loudspeakers filling the space. The poetry reading was intriguing, with gritty and stark themes—and that’s when I wished this cafe could turn into a bar so I could order a few stiff drinks.

There’s not enough good things to say about Bazaar Cafe. Loved chatting with the barista/ cashier who had invented 2 signature coffee/ teas on the menu. Tried Mt Fuji Mist tea (sprinkled with Hibiscus sugar), the Caramel Rose Latte, and an Oolong bundt cake. Ended up going on a Friday evening, and there was an indie musician performing - very nice vibes. Grab a board game or read a book, or simply get lost in your thoughts in the cafe. Walked out into the backyard and it’s the most cozy little garden tucked away in the city and is perfect for hosting events. I left the cafe, wanting to go back there again.

Bazaar Cafe hosted our engagement party in their incredible garden. I can’t imagine a better place to host a gathering of 10-30 people. Their garden is beautiful and organic with plenty of books and crannies. It was a great place to host a party. Somehow the garden is always 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the city. It blocks the wind and keeps everyone cozy. We asked them to create a spread for us and they dazzled us with so many bite sized, delicious snacks for our guests. From a charcuterie board to bite sized Bundt cakes to buttermilk biscuits. They went above and beyond what could be expected. Oh and have I mentioned the cafe supports local artists and musicians?? It’s a cornerstone of the Richmond community. And we were so happy to celebrate in a place not only aligned with our values but where we know our money will help support the artists in our neighborhood. If I sound overly enthusiastic, it’s only because this is my favorite place in the city. Staffed by people who will get to know you and work with you to help share this incredible space for special events.

It's a very quiet area! The inside of the building is very nice, like a vintage home. The workers there are dedicated, and offer a simple selection of options that although medium, they have a unique look to them! I only had a hot chocolate, but I'll definitely come back to try the rest of them!
Isrrael M — Google review
Lovely cafe with passionate people running the show. Loved the creativity toward tea drinks as much as coffee drinks. Enjoyed a big cup of both the fujian fog and mountain mist while reading. The Fujian Fog with regular milk was well balanced and delightful while the strong campfire aroma from the Mountain Mist, which is inspired by South African braai BBQ, was comforting while exciting. Can’t wait to spend another afternoon here in the future.

Barkeeper with the moustache scammed us by selling us a full Guiness but serving it in the wrong glass. We requested a proper Guinness glass so we could „split the G“ only to discover that the glass he had served was LESS Guinness than the G split itself. Upon request to the get the full request the bartender said that we need to pay for another beer. As a European I don’t understand why American demand a default 20% tip for such a service.

Arcana is a unique spot in the Mission that combines a plant shop and wine bar. The place is popular among plant enthusiasts who can enjoy a glass of pet-nat while browsing through an array of plants, including the option to purchase a ponytail palm. The high-ceilinged space is filled with greenery, creating a relaxed atmosphere for visitors to enjoy vegetarian snacks and beverages.
Went on Friday night with a friend. It was very happening and there was a live DJ. The vibes were great. We couldn’t find a seat on the lower level which was the more fun area so we went to the level up. They had a $20 wine flight option so we got that with a flat bread. We had never had orange wine before so got to try that with the flights. The wine choices were really good. We ended up getting another flight and flat bread. The food was good for the bar vibe but they ran out of potatoes. Eventually we did find a seat on the lower level while the live DJ was playing. It was fun but wish it didn’t close at midnight and stayed open for a little bit longer.

I love this place. A welcoming, divey bar and venue that serves a diverse clientele. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have a great variety of beers on tap and a decent liquor selection. Came as the finale to a small trip and WOW, it did not disappoint! The food was so delicious: the vegan pie was super well seasoned and crispy in the crust, grilled salmon was perfect, and kids loved the sausage rolls. Also highly recommend the Australian coconut dessert cake, lamington! The performance was intimate, but still big enough that we could blend in with the walls to take care of kids. There bathrooms close by too 👌 The best part was meeting people and feeling the sense of community growing there. Owner, Simon seemed to know everyone by name as they came in. Manager, Eric came to our table and made our kids some of their best memories from the trip with his friendliness. And the musicians all clearly had rapport with the audience. It was amazing to see the local SF arts and music scene I this cozy, artistic setting! Thank you so much for be family-friendly too!

Fantastic intimate jazz club, with so many options to enjoy. You can see the full show, with table service. Or you can sit in the bar, where the music is piped in and have a drink or a meal. It’s such a great spot for the neighborhood and the shows are all ages, so that’s a huge plus in our books!

The atmosphere and staff are hands down some of the best in San Francisco!! I come here several times a throughout the year to see a close friend of mine perform and I always enjoy myself. I’ve only had one food item from here and it was delicious. The cherry on top is the super affordable prices. I got a tall beer and shot of vodka for less than 15 bucks, crazy!! I love this place

So trying to figure out what went wrong here! Reviews were great, so thought we’d spend the $40 each ticket for the 7pm show, this started around 7.30, they said they were running late. The band were really great but we got less than 1 hour of show for almost $100. We had longer for a $5 tip in New Orleans and see bands with 2hr sets in Melbourne for less money . Then the food was practically all sold out, so not only was first choice gone, second choice was as well. So in all we spent almost $200 and were on our way home back to our hotel within 2hrs, even though there was an option to pay a further $15 each to stay for the second set! We felt it was all a bit of a rip off to be honest.

This is a very, very special place. It did not take us long to go from randoms to regulars -- and then to sign up for the membership. Keys is without a doubt one of the favorite things to do in our city. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with sincere warmth (and wit); grab a seat by the bar and the friendly bartender will expertly rehydrate you (try a Cable Car or a Mr. Washington.) Once you're seated in the listening room, the kitchen can offer the whole range from snacks (think olives and chick peas) via salads to entrees. The space is intimate but not cramped; there's probably not a bad seat in the house. The sound quality is excellent whether you're sitting three feet from the stage or farther back. Once the lights dim, founder and owner Simon Rowe will introduce the musicians as well give you a little background on the history of the venue and the neighborhood. Every single act we have seen here has been excellent; you can tell that the musicians love performing at Keys (many have said as much on stage), and the warm and inclusive vibe inevitably rubs off on everyone in the room. There's no pretense or inflated egos here -- most of the musicians are happy to chat after the show. And during the show, the servers will make sure you have everything you need without disturbing you or anyone else. If you haven't been to Keys yet, treat yourself to a wonderful experience. If you have been, go again -- the calendar features a wide varity of acts, all with their unique style and repertoire. And selfish reasons aside, we all need to support venues like this gem if we want them to stay around. Pro tip: Go see the late show on Saturday, when the aforementioned Simon Rowe plays the classic Hammond B3 organ along with a rotating crew of bandmates. He performs with a passion and pure joy that is incredibly contagious. A must-see, even if it's past your regular bedtime.

We're Jazz lovers, and had heard a bit about Keys, so we decided to stop by and check it out after dinner. The staff was cool, laid back, and super nice/friendly. They immediately warmly welcomed us, and let us know that the cover was special discounted that night. They invited us to take a peek/listen, and stay and hang out if we liked what we saw. We enjoyed the vibe instantly, and stayed. We chose correctly. The music was amazing and the drinks were awesome. Plus, when the server found out it was Wife and my 20 Year Wedding Anniversary, she congratulated us...AND gave us free cake! It was Delicious. So: great prices, great staff, great music, great atmosphere, and great food/drinks. I must Strongly Recommend. And there is no rating that can be given except...Perfect Five Stars :)

Ethiopian restaurant
Restaurant
Club Waziema is a popular Ethiopian eatery and bar located in San Francisco. The restaurant offers traditional Ethiopian dishes meant to be enjoyed by hand in a laid-back atmosphere. The venue has an interesting history, having been a famous jazz club from 1959 to 1978 before reopening as Club Waziema in 1999.
It's an eclectic dive bar but the food is really good! I was actually scared at first and almost left, LOL, but I'm glad I stayed and enjoyed a veggie platter. It's all you can eat and the food is great!

Stumbled up some cinco de mayo event flyer and checked out this restaurant/venue 😮. Nice vibe and will come back for the restaurant part next time
Rinka Y — Google review
As a dive bar + Ethiopian restaurant, Waziema is the kind of slightly unusual combination that makes you glad to live in a city. It's been around for a while and every time I see it I'm glad it's still going. In fairness it's probably not the best Ethiopian food in SF but it's decent and when you're looking for a less formal meal (or just a drink) it's a good neighborhood option.
Daniel N — Google review
This is a gem. A dive bar that serves legit Ethiopian food? The owners are friendly and helpful. It's honestly off-putting how good this is, since they clearly just bought a neighborhood dive to make a business. I look forward to cementing this review in 30 years from now, when this place is an institution.
Alek C — Google review
First of all, this place needs to have a better sign out front and a way of letting patrons know they serve food. I walked in here while bar hopping a while ago, and I had zero idea this place served food at night, I thought it must have been a day time thing because it is technically a bar, and nothing noticeable inside that showed they serve one of the best Ethiopian food in San Francisco. Food, as I mentioned is great, service is good enough for a bar. It was quite empty when I walked in, maybe that's why the atmosphere didn't do it for me, but that's not going to stop me from going back there to get food again.
I M — Google review
Ordered the beef stew which is described as cubed beef in berbere sauce and I'm 99% sure they served me ground beef. Tasted fine but when I asked if it was supposed to be cubed she said "we cut smaller because it's good for digestion" on top of that, it is a straight up dive bar and it feels wrong to be ordering dinner there. I think I'll try a few other Ethiopean places before I return here.
S B — Google review
Went on Tuesday at 8:30pm and they said they don't serve food.
Maddy L — Google review
One of my favorite neighborhood bars in SF — just very unassuming and non-pretentious — and with the best Ethiopian food in town. Good prices and all you can eat if you get the veggie platter, which is amazing. Family-owned by nice people.

Grant & Green Market in North Beach is a laid-back spot known for its live bands, comedy shows, and diverse crowd. When there's no live music, patrons can enjoy the jukebox, pool tables, and bar games. It's a great place to unwind with friends over some beers or hit the dance floor for some funky moves. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot in San Francisco.
Lots of stuff packed into this store. Friendly and helpful staff. Good prices. Would recommend!
Jerod V — Google review
It’s very sad that the employee working this evening decided not to make a sale of the higher end bottles of whiskey that they have in their inventory. When we simply asked about if the higher end bottles were available for purchase (and not called for/ allocated) what price he had for one of the Whiskey’s on the shelf. The bottles are all unmarked which is a common thing to do. So, we asked what price he had on one of the Whiskey’s and he got angry and said “no more questions” and then proceeded to tell another customer that “it was insane that we were asking questions, you should just know what you want”. I’m not sure what stores you simply buy something blind when it’s a higher end product without seeing if it’s worth even inconveniencing the employee to pull it down off the shelf. It’s very unfortunate that this was experience here. Save yourself the trouble and hop to another store…
Christina S — Google review
They have the it's it ice cream! I tried to find it around the city and it was imposible until I went to that place. Truth is that the price it's more expensive that I expected but at least I could try it! They had all the flavors. Also we could grab some things for breakfast. Generalizing it's a small store with high prices but it's open when others are closed.
Cristina — Google review
Spent $50 on booze n cigz. Charged a brotha $2 for a damn banana. C’mon now.
Edro W — Google review
Never go to this store no matter how urgent you are. I bought the juul pods here, and it was at least 10~12 dollars more expensive each than any other retailers. Can you believe 1 pack of juul pods is 38 dollars??????? Ripping tourists off. JUST DONT GO. THE MOST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
이지윤 — Google review
They were very friendly here! My husband and I came from out of state and we stopped in to buy water. They took the time to talk to us about where we were from. May even try to go back there one day when we make it back to San Fran! They care about their customers.
Alexis O — Google review
Have had nothing but unpleasant experiences here. There are at least 3 other markets within a block which carry the same items and more. Why go here to be insulted and overcharged.

asked for unsalted butter, because i could not find any in the fridge. got two bars from a pack of 4 ... for 4$. finally at home I realize it is salted butter - not helpful and expensive.

Cocktail bar
Event venue
Restaurant
Comstock Saloon is a charming establishment that transports you back to the turn of the century with its vintage cocktails and upscale bar fare. Located at the edge of San Francisco's Financial District, it attracts a lively crowd, especially after market hours. The ambiance is enriched by historical details reminiscent of the Barbary Coast era, including an antique mahogany bar and cozy wood booths.
Comstock Saloon is easily one of the best spots in a neighborhood stacked with great bars and restaurants. Great happy hour, great food, great staff, and a great atmosphere, often featuring live music.
A.C. A — Google review
We met our in-laws at Comstock Saloon for an early dinner / happy hour. They were in town for the Grateful Dead concert at Oracle Park. We had a group of 11 so they found a couple of tables in the back just below the piano player upstairs. Lots of drinks going around and every one complimented the tasty cocktails. I had a Reality Check Pilsner beer. The food menu was eclectic and we had the following items: Comstock Burger & Fries 3/5 husk ok $21 Skirt steak with chimichurri 4/5 Oysters 4/5 $3.50 each Salmon and potato puffs 3/5 Donuts with ice cream 5/5 had to order a couple more best item The Comstock Saloon is located near the corner of Columbus and Kearney. It's filled with wooden booths. Service was ok. The nearest parking lot is Portsmouth garage.

Stopped in for beverage and light bite. Great service, interesting history. Live music several nights a week. Local crowd mostly, typical old SF bar vibe. Great neighborhood hangout.
C L — Google review
Very unique place with a lot of history and some of the best craft cocktails I’ve ever had. The bartender took his time with each drink, making sure each was just right. With two drinks, you get a free light lunch on Fridays. It was corn chowder the day we went, which was phenomenal, but not hearty enough to soak up the two strong drinks. We added some fries and bacon wrapped dates yo have a little more on our stomach for walking around. It’s really worth reading the history of this old Jewish barbershop that was preserved and made into a destination. It’s wild to think everything this building has endured. If these walls could talk!
Michael M — Google review
Unbelievable cocktail joint with a vintage vibe and excellent staff. Oysters were great and served with a delicious minionette or an awesome smokey home make hot sauce. I make a point to stop in here every time I'm in San Francisco if I can make an excuse to do so!
Brett G — Google review
Came here on a Sat evening for my husband's bday with a group. Unfortunately, the service we received was unprofessional and unacceptable. - An older staff member approached our group and made a demeaning comment, referring to us as a "colorful bunch." If you wanted us to move to a different area, you could’ve told us directly instead of being passive aggressive. - The bartender with the long mustache was also rude and unhelpful. When I asked for a list of beers on tap, was basically scoffed at. Gave same attitude to our group as well. We get it’s a cocktail bar, but no need to be rude if we don’t want to order that. Despite being the only patrons in the smaller back room, we were treated poorly. Our entire group and I are not returning. Beware of the terrible customer service here.
Youngmin J — Google review
My favorite bar in the city! Felix is one the wonderful servers here along with Mr. Happy and the entire bar staff. Live music nearly every night and the best cocktails I’ve ever had in SF. 10/10 would recommend, have recommended, and have thrown a few parties here. There free lunch is worth every cocktails SM the ambiance brings you back to the early 1900’s. Their food is delicious, the burger is one of my favorites along with the salmon puffs. You cannot go wrong here! Check it out if you have the time and coin to spare.
Sarah L — Google review
It’s interiors with hushed lighting that project shades of brown, along with well chosen paintings and prints feels like you have walked into the modern version of a SE Asian nation ; I wish I was wearing a suit with fedora, with Lauren Bacall at my side; a long wooden rotating fan that looks like an oar is designed to mesmerize patrons to keep ordering drinks and food; Love the fried Brussels sprouts. The jazz band is curiously situated a level above bar as if they are a voice of God? Martinez is my favorite drink here,. It’s becoming my regular place for drinks.
