Nice view of all the pastries in the front. We ordered the Mixed Berry Greens (greens, butter leaf lettuce, berries, feta, pistachios and raspberry vinaigrette), a Lemon Square and Carrot Cake. I am not the biggest raspberry vinaigrette person but I did enjoy the salad a lot. Also I like the Carrot Cake but my partner did not like the fruit sauce on the bottom. I do have to say it overpowered the Carrot Cake flavor. Overall food was ok, but employees were nice!

I honestly like the 1st location better. The outside sitting and just the over all environment. We stop at this location quite late in the evening and the dessert selection was not the great. Most of the items were not available. My husband got a lemon slice but it was too sweet. I got a strawberry truffle and we really didn’t care for the filling. In the past we really enjoyed eating dessert because they were not sweet at all . Hopefully it was because we didn’t eat what we usually order. We really enjoyed the lattes.

Presentation is everything, literally. Flavor is lacking in these pastries. Seems like too much effort is made on presentation. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t even want rose petals on a dessert, so not sure what the idea is here. The brownie was straight fudge and way too sweet. This could just be my preference for dark chocolate over milk chocolate but still did not like the texture or icing. The pumpkin cheesecake was very mid- it did not hit me in the face with pumpkin pie spices, nutmeg, allspice, etc, which is a must with anything pumpkin to bring it home. The coconut cream cake slice was okay and it was the best coconut cream I’ve had that was not homemade, so that’s something. Cake texture was fluffy and icing was not sugary. I also got a blueberry coffee cake which was the best thing I got but still only a 7/10, would’ve appreciated some lemon or other additional flavors. It tasted like St Louis gooey butter cake with a few blueberries baked in. Begging you to revisit some of these recipes, they’re not amazing yet. Also, wrapping everything individually to be placed in a box is probably not necessary and takes a lot of time when preparing an order.

We stopped by Extraordinary Desserts to try a couple of small desserts. The presentation was definitely a highlight—each treat looked stunning, almost too pretty to eat. The portion sizes were reasonable, though the pricing felt a bit on the higher side for what we got. Not outrageous, but not exactly budget-friendly either. While the variety was impressive, the actual flavors didn’t blow me away. They were enjoyable, but not particularly memorable. The experience was nice, just not as extraordinary as the name might suggest. One downside was the wait. There was a decent line, and ordering took a bit longer than expected. If you’re visiting, plan for a little extra time. Overall, a good place if you’re looking for beautiful desserts with plenty of choices, but not necessarily a must-visit if flavor is your top priority.

Exceptional and extraordinary desserts. Cakes are over the top in flavor and texture. However they seem to be a bit understaffed or not on top of drink orders. We ordered drinks to go with our cake slices and they seemed to have completely forgotten about them. If we had not flagged them, I don’t think we would have gotten them. Make sure if you get drinks, to proactively check in.

This place is fancy with delicious desserts at reasonable prices. We went here around 7 or 7:30pm on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed, but we were still able to find a table for 2. They have so many options to choose from and the ambiance is a great place for a date or a hangout spot with family and friends. I'm not really a cake person, but the blood orange ricotta came with some sort of red and a yellow drizzle that tasted so good. The begat strawberry raspberry scone was a little dry, and so adding the drizzle to that really elevated the flavor. Vegan strawberry raspberry scone: 4.5/5 Blood orange ricotta: 5/5

Best place for dessert, everything there is perfect, a lot to choose from. All beautiful and so delicious. We got 4 slices of cake all was good . My favorite was the strudel it all good . There mint tea also good . Highly recommend this place!!

this was the first time i felt comfortable eating at a bakery. i have a nut allergy and this is 100% free of all nuts so there’s no risk for cross-contamination. i am so grateful for this bakery! i enjoyed the vanilla & devil’s food cake cupcakes while my boyfriend had the lemon & lavender and carrot cake. we couldn’t wait to eat them so there’s one missing but honestly they were quite yummy! they are a little on the expensive side $6.50 a cupcake but i completely understand given the precautions and ingredients needed. i’m from out of town but moving here soon so i plan on returning. this will be a go to spot for me.

Absolutely delicious! Whether you’re vegan like me or not, you will really enjoy these amazing cookies and cupcakes. They have excellent quality and flavor, although I find the prices a bit high. Be sure try their delicious sweets and support them, because they are truly high quality.💚

Hands down the best allergy friendly bakery in all of San Diego (possibly the entire US as well- I’ve tried a few different bakeries in different places and so far Starry Lane always wins). I LOVE that a place like this exists and has given those of us with severe food sensitives and allergies a safe place to order delicious baked items without worry or fear. Before I found Starry Lane Bakery, I had not had a cupcake, a brownie, a cookie, a slice of bread or anything even remotely resembling a baked good for YEARS. I ate the same few foods everyday and truly believed I would never have another baked good in my life. When I first looked up Starry Lane, I cried. SOBBED. UGLY CRIED. And when I walked in and saw all of the options? My brain almost exploded. Because not only is this bakery gluten free, they are top 8 allergy free. And that’s what I needed. For those of you who may not have food sensitivities or allergies, let me tell you: this is incredibly rare and often times, hard to find. It’s even harder to find a bakery that does this well. At this point I’ve been coming to Starry Lane Bakery for almost 4 years. I’ve slowly worked my way through my menu; I’ve carefully tried almost everything they have to offer. And my verdict? Everything is delicious. Yes, I will always choose a chocolate cupcake over a lemon raspberry torte but the torte is still delicious. And safe. The staff is amazing, and always has time to carefully explain and go over any questions I may have. And more importantly, they are protective of the bakery and ensuring it is allergy safe. They keep a close eye on all individuals who enter and make sure they are not bringing in outside food or beverages that may contaminate the bakery and put the workers or customers at risk. And because I’ve seen one too many reviews of individuals who cannot comprehend this simple, basic concept and feel that they are entitled to do whatever they they want: the bakery itself has around a dozen signs all explaining you CANNOT bring outside into the bakery before you even step foot inside. In short: Starry Lane Bakery is the best. Their baked good are always delicious, they are proud of and always helping their local community and giving those with food allergies a voice.

I am a vegan, visiting San Diego, from the east coast and craving vegan friendly pastries. I Used google to find a store near me and located Elevated Coffee + Confections. Even better, the shop was conveniently located. I ordered the cinnamon buns and sweet potato biscuits, one with and without jalapeños. The staff were excellent, friendly and knew the products well. I have some funky dietary restrictions and the ingredients of the pastries were explained and I was able to make my selections. I cannot say which pastry was the best but I will say I returned to the bakery the next day for more. I would highly recommend you stopping by this tucked away gem when you are in beautiful San Diego.

I make a point to come here every time I’m in town. Their desserts are allergy friendly and delicious — even my friends who don’t have allergies love them. I especially love the mini lemon Bundt cake and their campfire cupcake — it’s adorable and sooo good!

I recently visited this gem of a bakery in San Diego and was blown away. They specialize in allergen-free baked goods, and every pastry I tried was absolutely delicious. The chocolate cake was SOO good—it’s the one thing I remembered to snap a picture of, but trust me, everything else I tried was just as amazing! As someone who struggles to find good dairy-free treats, this place felt like heaven for my sweet tooth. The service was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for delicious allergen-free desserts in San Diego, this is the spot!

Blackmarket has been on my list for a long time due to its popularity. The place is definitely eclectic with its outlandish style and sense of humor in terms of atmosphere / indoor setting. The layout inside is a bit chaotic with seating arranged around displays of merchandise like a marketplace for cute gifts and treats. There are plenty of outlets. Large outdoor patio area as well. Coffee is average and food is standard-to-good, a bit on pricier side. I would go here more for the theme and as an outing with friends or family because it is fun and cute!

I’m really sad to write this because I’ve been a regular for a long time. I’ve always loved their food and atmosphere—it’s been my go-to spot for working remotely, and I’ve recommended it to so many people. But unfortunately, I have to share my recent experience. After eating one of their sandwiches, I got really sick. I was tested and confirmed to have a stomach flu caused by a virus, and I had severe diarrhea and vomiting for days. I don’t know exactly what happened, but this was the only meal I ate before getting sick. I truly hope this was a one-time incident, but I feel like I have to let people know. I’ve always trusted this place, and it’s heartbreaking to have this happen. I don’t want to leave a negative review, but food safety is serious, and I hope they take a look into this.

Stopped by for a loaf of bread. Limited selection, but satisfied my needs. Limited pastry selection with nothing appealing. Service very good. As expected, parking was awful. Ten minutes circling block. There is a nearby pay lot, but adding & $4-5 to the cost of a loaf of bread was a non starter

The food was good. Drinks were fragrant and delicious. Staff were extremely friendly. Love the outdoor dog friendly patio.

We visited early in the morning, and the service and ambiance were great! What I love the most is that you can see the bakers working on their stations right in front of you. The bakery is really delicious, and they have a patio where dogs are also welcome. Highly recommended

Oh my gosh this place is such a gem. I stopped in with my two kids and hubby and ordered about six different pastries, a mini cake and a beer. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable. The outside patio is absolutely gorgeous with a little hidden areas that you can sit in if you want a quiet Place. I really love the pop tarts and I also had a rocky road cookie that was to die for! I loved my peach cider as well. The guy who served me was so polite and helpful, He was really nice and answered my family of four courteously and was super helpful. Will for sure be back!

Awesome coffee shop with so many choices of baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, drinks, and more! Highly recommend getting any or all of their cookies. They are freshly baked and soft and everything you could want. The Fresh Prince breakfast sandwich was ok. I would try a different one next time. They also have homemade syrups. The iced vanilla oat milk latte hit the spot. A lovely outdoor sitting area with a decent amount of tables inside and outside. Very friendly staff!

Great breakfast/Brunch options in the heart of Hillcrest, parking might be trouble, however well worth it. The seasonal berry crepe was really good, and the Ham & Eggs Benedict banquet hit the spot as far as taste and volume. And service was very fast.

Bread & Cie is truly a local gem! I don’t know how they do it, but every time I walk through the doors of this place I feel like all my problems melt away. They’ve got amazing breads, pastries, and desserts, but I’ve recently loved coming in for a hearty lunch. I love the half sandwich/half soup option they have. The tomato soup is amazing! Their chicken salad sandwiches are also one of my favorites. They have plenty of seating whether you’re solo or with a larger group. They also have a parking lot in the back that offers one hour free while you’re in the restaurant which is great.

My friend and I came to Bread & Cie for breakfast today. I’ve been here once before but it was years ago. We ordered an imported mozzarella sandwich, avocado toast with poached eggs, and orange juice, and a watermelon lemonade. Everything was really fresh and used high-quality ingredients. The sandwich bread was soft and pillowy, and the olive tapenade and mozzarella played off of each other perfectly. The avocado on the toast was perfectly ripe and super tasty. The watermelon lemonade was amazing! It was so good I want to make it at home. They bake their own bread here, which explains the elevated bread on their plates. The store is busy, a bit loud, and the surrounding parking lots are paid (one is $2/hr, another $6/hr). But it’s still a worthwhile spot, since they take so much care making their dishes and drinks. Totally recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Hillcrest, this was an amazing find. Hotel breakfast was substandard so I asked My Daughter to find a suitable local alternative.. she suggested Bread and Cie. It was seven minutes from our hotel by car and after reviewing the feedback from fellow patrons, we thought we’d give it a try . The site has limited free parking for patron up to one hour (we were lucky to secure a spot upon arrival at 8 am) It’s been going for over 30 years according to the signage and I can see why it’s still going . They have an amazing selection of bread, freshly baked on site. After to speaking to Dylan (the manager) a lady master baker has been baking there for 25 years ! Amazing Staff / service was warm, earthy and super friendly I ordered the avocado on toast and My Daughter ordered the chicken soup with grilled sandwich. I then ordered the Yogurt parfait with their house made granola They did not fail to please - super fresh and full of flavour . We were both satisfied with our choices Ordered an Americano - again it hit the mark. Ambiance - spacious, funky, warm and just so earthy. We both enjoyed a seat watching the outside world go by. Dylan is a great host and a gentlemen. He was kind enough to spend some minutes sharing his view of the place and its history - lovely chap If you fancy fresh food, amazing bread (levain was lush), warm kind and sincere service - you NEED to come to Bread & Cie ! All come highly recommended !

Locals love this place, so I checked it out. There is a line on Saturday mornings. I love the Saturday special -- fougassé for $8.95, which can be shared by 2-3 people. I also like my home-squeezed grapefruit juice. Highly recommended. Definitely going back.

I really don't have anything negative to say about this place... oh wait, I do have one small thing – it's a bit too far from me! 😁😁😁 But whenever I'm in the Hillcrest area, I always make it a point to stop by. Their bread 🥪🍞🥪🍞 is just always so fresh and delicious!

Came here for a quick breakfast with little to no expectations. I was blown away! The food was so good. I got the Mediterranean frittata panini, two different types of vegetarian quiche, and a blueberry pie latte. Everything was amazing. I was really impressed by the service as well. The line to order was so long but moved so fast and the food arrived at a reasonable time. They must have their service down to a science. It’s definitely a local gem.

The cafe has an amazing atmosphere. You can tell they put real thought and taste into creating it. It is a cozy and beautiful place, especially when the big windows are open. The desserts here are absolutely delicious and the breakfast is really hearty. It is a perfect spot for an inspiring start to the day or a romantic date. I would just make the service a little more positive or friendly, maybe more like the vibe you get in France, rather than how it feels now.

While in San Diego, I was searching every morning for a place where I could have a vegetarian-friendly breakfast since I’m Muslim. Parfait was only a 3-minute walk from my hotel, and it quickly became my go-to spot. I ended up visiting more than three times during my week in the city. They honestly have the best croissant I’ve ever had. On two of my visits, I met Phoebe, the girl working there. She carried a soft smile behind her shy and innocent face, and she was incredibly kind, even making the effort to pronounce and remember my name correctly. Thank you for the warm experience you provide, it truly made my mornings in San Diego special.

Okay everyone here is a fantastic hidden gem in San Diego. And for those living in Orange County there's one at the Packing House. Parfait Paris took me back to the Parisian eateries I just went to in August, when I visited Paris. This one is a must for the European conosours. The manager Phoebe was delightful, friendly kind and so personable. The staff Ben C. and Ivy were absolutely wonderful, and had such a cute little French accent. The food was timely and incredibly delicious! If you want to go to heaven just for a bit, try Parfeit Paris, you will be sure to have your taste buds tantalized with the most delicious eggs benedict I've had in a very long time. The carrot cake was incomparable yuuuum, and I highly recommend the chocolate desert in my photos, it melts in your mouth. I had the best Dulce de Leche latte I've ever had. I had to finish the brunch with a sweet heavenly treat for later, I took some mochi variety home, that my family and I devoured watching our favorite TV show. If you are anywhere around the San Diego area, you must visit this place, it will transport you to the divine Parisian eateries in France!

Beautiful little French creperie/cafe in the heart of the San Diego Gaslamp District. I attended a convention there in October and visited twice in two days because it was so delicious and peaceful! The seasonal oatmilk butter pecan latte was to die for (I ended up ordering it both days), and the pastries and egg croissant sandwich were delicious as well. The employees were efficient, kind, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was peaceful and clean - both inside and out. I plan to attend the same conference next year with my husband, and I already have plans to return to this very spot for some of the most delicious food and coffee I've ever had. Highly recommend!

We had breakfast there this Sunday morning. The brunch menu looks great and you can go full breakfast to light. I did the classic breakfast and it was very well done. Potatoes cooked just right (I’m from Idaho, I know these things). Eggs same. My wife had an almond croissant and says it was wonderful. At 8 am there was no wait and we sat out on the sidewalk patio. Happy to go again.

Super cute cafe in midst the gaslamp quarters. Open early, great for early birds. Food is delicious. Baked goods look to be European standard deliciousness. I highly recommend this place for a great breakfast or a quick coffee to go.

Parfait Paris! This place was a hit—everything and more. It was quiet, had a nice price, and generous portions for the food. The restaurant was clean and very well-appointed for the gritty Gaslamp neighbourhood. I was looking for a nice, quiet place with good food just before ending a busy travel day and didn’t want to leave the area to find something like this spot on a busy party Friday night in the Gaslamp. Oh, and if you’re wondering, the staff do speak (actual) French!

My favorite style croissant. Shiny outside, butter smell, good old school french croissant. Sourdough! Same as croissan, good old style sourdough bread, texture inside is quite perfect with little sourness and wetness that I adore. 10/10. Quite quick service as well.

Good bakery. Decent line but moves quick. Almond croissant - very dense and almost seemed like it was baked a little too long. Ham and cheese crossaint needs more ham and cheese, was also dry. Baguette was really good! Kouign-amann was great The rounded crossaint with filling was also very good. Cappuccino was also excellent.

Words cannot describe the absolute flakiness of the croissants. I can still hear the crunch the next day. The mushroom and corn cream bun way so surprisingly fabulous; Savory, creamy, crunchy yet sweet from the corn. Chocolate croissant hands down the best I’ve ever had. We brought home a loaf of sour dough. The dark crust has such a rich flavor and great chew. 10/10!

I took my mom to Wayfarer Bakery when she came to visit me in San Diego because it had been one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately, this time was a letdown. The $6 croissant we ordered was disappointingly small (smaller than my hand) — much smaller than expected for the price. While I understand prices have gone up everywhere, the portion size just didn’t match the cost, and it left us feeling underwhelmed. I was really hoping to share a great bakery experience with my mom, but it fell short this time.

Such an awesome morning time stop. We grabbed some lattes and pastries.. the cinnamon bun and raspberry cream pastry. They were SO good! The staff is top tier along with all of their products. The lattes were delicious as well. There is usually quite the line so make sure to budget some time to wait, it’s worth it!

So I’ve had their incredible pastries but I had to post their pizza you can pre-order. This will change your life. The crust is as good as you would expect it to be given their pastries and the combination of flavors on this thing…no words. Order multiple because the idea of not having leftovers is devastating.

Izola Bakery is hands down one of San Diego’s best spots for pastries and bread. Every item feels like it’s made with care — flaky, buttery perfection from start to finish. The s’mores croissant is pure indulgence with gooey brownie and toasted marshmallow, while the chocolate croissant is rich and crisp in all the right ways. The beef bibimbap croissant is a genius savory twist — warm, flavorful, and surprisingly balanced. Don’t miss the brown butter caramel knot either — it’s sweet, nutty, and ridiculously addictive. And if you love great bread, their seedy multigrain sourdough is next-level — hearty, tangy, and perfect for sandwiches or just on its own with butter (my personal go to, definitely add on a stick of Buerre D'Isigny with your order!). The space itself is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors (bonus points for the heat lamps outside — perfect for chilly mornings). Izola is a must-visit bakery that always delivers on quality and creativity.

I treated myself to a caramel latte and a chocolate croissant to satisfy my sweet cravings, while my partner went for the everything croissant with a vanilla cappuccino. Every bite and sip were absolutely delightful! The food was wonderful, but what truly made our visit special was the service friendly, attentive, and full of warmth. Visited this busy bakery during our trip to SD. Turns out the line made sense cause everything we had was amazing. Both savoury and sweet options were delicious but their sourdough bread was especially memorable and I’m still thinking about the Lao Gan Ma Gruyere Sourdough. It was a bit pricey but I’ve never had anything like it. Service was pretty efficient for how busy they were and staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. Try this spot, you won’t regret it!

We’ve been coming to Izola for at least 3 years now — back when they were operating from a much smaller location — and it’s been amazing to see how far they’ve come. Every croissant is handcrafted with so much love and care, and you can truly taste the difference. What keeps us coming back even more than the incredible croissant is their exceptional customer service. We had a small hiccup recently, and Elon and Jeff went above and beyond to make things right — they made us feel so special that we came back the very next day! Our absolute favorites: the Bibimbap Veggie Croissant, Signature Croissant, S’mores Croissant, and the Vanilla Latte — all a must-try! Highly, highly recommended! 🥐☕️💛

My favorite bakery in town!! We had the signature croissant, chocolate croissant and almond croissant and they were all so delicious😋(crispy outside, soft & chewy inside!!) 🥐 Coffee tastes great too. The atmosphere is also very nice, we sat outside and the park view was so beautiful! Service is also great and staffs are all very kind! We met Jean Carlos and he was very friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend!!

IZOLA is one of those spots that immediately feels worth the visit: inside, the space is bright and open with plenty of seating, and there’s also outdoor seating for those who prefer to enjoy the sunshine. Ordering is done at the counter, and the staff brings everything right to your table — simple and efficient. We decided to sample a variety: the signature plain croissant, the almond chocolate croissant, the brown butter caramel knot, and the bibimbap croissant. I paired it all with an iced coconut cream latte. Each item was delicious in its own way, but the standout for me was the signature croissant. Perfectly flaky on the outside, with a rich, buttery flavor that made it shine on its own. Everything from the food to the atmosphere came together for a really enjoyable visit, and it’s definitely the kind of place that makes you want to come back and work your way through the rest of the menu. Can’t wait for next time, to try the sourdough bread!

My family has been going to Izola since their previous location during covid! Their new space is so airy and welcoming. Favorite items include the bibimbap croissant and chocolate croissant. The lao gan ma Gruyère bread blew my mind it was so good.

As the name suggests, Sugar and Scribe leans heavily on the sweet side. I ordered an oat milk latte that came sweetened by default, even though I didn’t request sugar so I’d recommend asking for no added sugar in advance if you prefer it less sweet. The bread pudding French toast was rich and flavorful, though definitely a large portion, best shared! My husband got the shakshuka without egg (he’s vegetarian), which was okay. They don’t offer dedicated vegetarian options, but the kitchen is accommodating and can modify dishes to exclude eggs or meat, which is helpful to keep in mind. The ambience is cute, the staff is friendly, and the wait time was reasonable. Overall, it’s a cozy spot for a sweet brunch, just be mindful of how sugary things can get.

This is a great spot with delicious food. Everything we ate was delicious. The Bread Pudding French toast was yummy! The place is dog friendly (outside patio) and they have a good portion shredded chicken for the dogs. The service was good up until the end when we wanted to get things boxed and pay the bill.

My sister took us here when we visited & just loved it. Very busy spot, they don't take reservations, so we had a little wait. Service was great along with the food & drinks. I would definitely come back here!

You have GOT to try the pancakes….I am literally sitting here in the restaurant still eating these pancakes while writing this review because you have to know what I’m experiencing. These are easily the best pancakes of my life!! I dipped some in my husbands caramel sauce from his French toast and my eyes got brighter, the sky got brighter, I could smell the flowers a bit more. I honestly think these pancakes have changed my life. You must get them. They are even good plain!! I would never say that if you know me…. Ugh I hope to come back here one day.

***Second Review*** Another outstanding breakfast Ordered: Smothered and covered skillet with BBQ Beef - over easy eggs smothered with cheesy chicken gravy. Beef was tender with balanced sour and sweetness of BBQ sauce. Butter Poached Lobster Benedict - Deliciously rich hollandaise sauce over perfectly poached egg. Great portion of succulent lobster meat on a toasty English muffin. Chicken Caesar Wich - buttery and flaky croissant with well seasoned and crispy buttermilk fried chicken and fresh salad on the side. 6” Dripping in Finesse Cake (Vanilla Cake w/ Strawberry Cardamom Buttercream) - $90 cake that is so worth it! Roasted potatoes was crispy and seasoned well. **spicy sriracha hollandaise wasn’t that spicy** Famous Rebellious Lobby Roll - right amount of delicious lobster meat with lemon aioli and seasonings in a tasty/butter roll. It comes with arugula salad. S & S Chocolate - Picture and taste perfect! Chocolate and whipped topping is so so good! The “Best” according to my wife; which I Agree! The toasted marshmallow was good too. Our server, Erin was nice and attentive from start to finish. Still few empty parking spot by the surrounding streets right after 9AM on a Saturday. No waiting to get in and only took 10-15 mins for our entire orders. Highly recommended. Will absolutely coming back to try their other dishes and desserts.

Delicious! The food is delicious, the benedict was cooked perfectly, with a tasty hollandaise sauce and crispy bacon. The potatos on the side were a great compliment, sliced like chips, they were perfect for scooping the sauce and yolk. The waffles were delicious too, the peach burbon sauce and elderberry cream was to die for We went during peak sunday bunch time (after 10 am on a sunday), parking is a little tricky, you might have to go a couple blocks, and since this place is popular, you might have a little bit of a wait. However the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fun, plus there is a take out coffee counter with pastries to order if you need somthing to tide you over. If you can, definitely visit, the sweet and savory offering for brunch are great! Will definitely come back.

‘Ingredients are on the back’ is our new inside joke slogan with my gf. This was the response when we asked what was the flavors for on of their cookies in a fairly rude way. Pretty sure it was the owner or GM. Really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is beautiful. But the GM was just really hard to witness. She was talking down on her staff. The food was good, small portions compared to The Cottage across the street, but decent. But the GM telling customers to get of the way without apologies or anything really bummed the experience out. Just go to The Cottage across the street.

Cozy space with a few sidewalk tables featuring Cuban inspired pastries and coffee. Service wait on a Sunday morning only took a few minutes, it allowed me time to browse their delicious display of pastries. Coffee Toffee Scones, Ginger Pumpkin, Passion fruit Raspberry, Cuban Meat Pies, and many more sweet and savory offerings. I'm a bit of a Scone aficionado and these are some of the best scones I've ever had. Not too sweet, not dry. Flavorful and well balanced. 5 stars! Parking is on street so be prepared to park a bit away and walk. There are many niche shops in the area so it makes for a nice stroll.

If I lived in San Diego, I’d be here ALL the time. The pastries were truly incredible, some of the best I’ve ever had. And the Cubano sandwich was delicious. Don’t be in a hurry…. It takes a while. But it’s worth it the wait. For the faster takeaway items, the cubano meat pie was super tasty, as was the strawberry rhubarb almond tart. 👌🏼

Azúcar is a one of a kind spot, offering delicious Cuban food, pastries and coffee. Anytime I am visiting Ocean Beach I make sure to stop by for their meat pies. They are the perfect combination of crispy, yet soft and flaky with a touch of sweetness on the outside to complement the savory flavors once you bite in. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

I'm so happy I randomly stumbled upon this place! I was looking for a cute pastry place to get pastries for my husband's birthday. He's not big on the traditional cake and since it was just the two of us celebrating tonight I wanted to get something small yet to tasty. The original pastry place I was going to was closed. So I just Googled somewhere that was relatively close and found this place! And omg, their pastries are amazing! I definitely will be back to try other items. This time I tried the Cuban tiramisu and they are tres leches pastry.

I went here two days in a row during my weekend trip to Ocean Beach. Both days there was a line out the door (and on day two I was there before they opened!). The classic Cuban pastry (guava & queso) is delectable. I tried both the guava-only and guava/queso...I would get both again. I also tried the everything eloté quiche pastry with egg, corn and peppers baked in, and it was divine. My latte was delicious, too. Coming here for a treat is never a mistake! Enjoy for me since I can't come back daily for more sweets!

I NEEDED Cuban coffee. I was staying in La Jolla and found this spot when I did a search. SO happy I made the run here. Service was quick but more importantly so pleasant. “Meat pie” was killer! The Cortadito was excellent and EXACTLY what I needed.

I tried the Coconut Cake...best I've ever had. The Mango Cheesecake was delicious! To drink, I had a Double Cortadito, so good! What brought me here were the Guava and Guava Cheese Pastelitos. I have only ever had these from Portos. Sadly, they were too rich! Not the Guava or Cheese, they were way too buttery! The amount of butter used over powered the Guava. Hopefully it's just the batch I had. I will be back to try their other cakes and sandwiches.

Not cash only - will take a debit or credit card. HUGE selection of bakery items and you can watch the bakers hand rolling all the pastries. The smell is amazing! Bought a big selection of goodies and everything has been excellent! What a find!

My local friend let me know this Panchitas is where all the Pan Dulce’s are made for the satellite stores. So, if I wanted the freshest this was the spot to go for Mexican Bread. It did not disappoint with several choices of the traditional sweet breads to pick from. It can get busy and the space is on the small side. So pack your patience and it will all be worth it.

Lovely bakery with lots of choices at fair prices in an overly expensive neighborhood. Went to get some pastries every day during my 3 day stay in SD. Good coffee too! Just pick a plate and a pair of tongs, get whatever you like, and pay at the counter.

It's good. Could use some updates the place looks ancient inside and kind of dirty. Bread is OK but on the expensive side for what you get.

Very impressed. I ended up going to Panchita's twice during our trip to San Diego. Left both occasions with plenty of pan dulce. There's a great selection and on both days the bread never seemed like it was from the previous day. Most of the items are common across other panaderías. However, one item I have never seen before is budín. I bought some here and was instantly hooked. On our last day in San Diego, I ended up going back to buy more to take home. The staff was nice as well. Definitely recommend stopping by here.

My sweet tooth got the best of me while I was walking past this bakery. A guy at work recommended this bakery so I gave in and picked out some goodies including a chocolate brownie, donuts and a few other treats. So far everything I've eaten has been really good! (Cash only).

They have a good variety of cookies and good pricing. Always love that chocolate chip.. next would be the salted caramel, then the biscoff and red velvet. Make sure to have your milk ready to enjoy these cookies.

These cookies make a nice sweet dream for special occasion or if you are in the mood for a sweet treat. 🍪🍪🍪

What a strange little place. Ordered a caramel apple cookie, chocolate chip, and a triple chocolate. Could hardly distinguish between the three flavors. Pretty sure the cookies are 3D printed and they only differ in appearance.

A colleague very kindly sent me a dozen Cravory cookies as a thank you. They arrived in lovely packaging. The cookies themselves, which is to my mind really what matters, are complete rubbish. Stale. Hard and brittle like hardtack from the British Navy. Literally devoid of moisture so eating them is pointless as they turn to dust once touched. Some arrived in the package with 1/2 the cookie already disintegrating. These are a very poor excuse for a cookie.

Amazing cookies! We found this place randomly while in the area and were very pleasantly surprised. They have a large selection of unique flavours. The cookies are very soft and they taste so good! The staff serving us was also friendly and service was quick. Highly recommend trying them out.

Wide variety of well made Cookies. They were shipped to me from CA to Midwest. Arrived in perfect condition, packaged in a sturdy well designed gift box, and each cookie individually sealed. Fresh, tasty and also excellent customer service. They helped me design a customized sticker for my work company, and offered to add the sticker for free as I had over 150 cookie in my order. Highly recommend

We were in town a few days, we were about to order dinner and spotted the signage. We were assisted by Charlie. He was really helpful. I got the red velvet cookie it was pretty good. We look forward to trying more cookies whenever we return

I had a family member visit, and it was his birthday... he has some very tough dietary restrictions, (gluten free, vegan and no chocolate) and I found other baking places that could accommodate but they were all closed and had strange hours, so Thank you to The Gluten Free Baking Co for being open during the week for a last minute need! I have no dietary restrictions and so it’s always nice to try things I’m not used to having. I hear baking gluten and vegan is pretty difficult.. so I wanted to share this in a few sections: Presentation:I thought they presented quite well... nicely decorated and held together well Taste: flavors were accurately described and tasted pretty good, I’d eat this again! Donuts were a little sweet... The favorite was the cinnamon rolls.. very tasty .. Also the frosting on the carrot cake was oddly delicious... it just melts in your mouth Consistency: Cupcakes, donuts and cinnamon rolls were a little tough and more dense in comparison to unrestricted diet cake but good flavors. They are not airy and fluffy, but I didn’t expect it to be. I will say the frosting was also more firmer than I expected but not in a bad way. Overall, I’d have it again even though I don’t have special dietary restrictions. I probably won’t go out of my way to eat it again but when I have family and friends who have restrictions I’d happy have a bite with them here.

Update: This week we decided to try the brioche loaf, just as good but lighter than the multi-grain loaf we tried before. So good! Toasts very well, another excellent sandwich. Bonus: While there I got a bag of their GF flour and made the best GF waffles Sunday morning. The superfine texture makes them light and fluffy. Found out about this place recently and have to say they have my favorite GF sandwich bread loaves ever!!! Happy to become a regular :-)

Due to a recent onset of gluten and dairy intolerance, we were desperately in search of the perfect dessert for our wedding. We tried three places in San Diego and The Gluten Free Baking Co checked all the boxes. First off, their tasting was professional and thorough. We were provided with a wide selection of flavours and more than enough cupcakes to be able to make our decision. Their cupcakes were so moist, and the frosting was the perfect sweetness. They weren’t sugar bombs like some of the other ones we tried, they had real flavour! We ended up ordering a couple of different desserts for our wedding. We went with three kinds of cupcakes (chocolate w chocolate frosting, lemon with chocolate frosting and carrot cake with dairy free cream cheese frosting). We also ordered the key lime bars, cream puffs and snickerdoodle cookies. The key lime bars are not dairy free so I couldn’t try them, but my now husband said they were amazing. I tried all the other desserts and LOVED them!. The cookies were outstanding! Roanna was so accommodating throughout the whole process. The prices were very fair for the level of service we received. We recommend the Gluten Free Baking Co for your everyday or special event baked good needs! Even if you aren’t eating gluten or dairy free, you should go here!

I purchased the lemon bar and coffee cake. As I was going back and forth with myself about what to choose, I looked up and there were samples of the brownie and the coffee crumb cake. The lemon bar was good. Lemony and the crust was tasty. The crumb cake was yummy. I would say you must eat within 48 hours of purchase to get the best taste. I will definitely visit again.

ADDITIONAL REVIEW COMMENTS: This bakery is top notch and is still a 5 star business. Only thing that is a problem is parking. Parking doesn't exist anymore around the area. I have tried to buy some things in 3 different days and had to leave because there was no parking. I was driving around in circles with no success finding a spot to park. I encourage you to open your Clairemont location on weekends to maybe fix this issue. At least there is enough parking there even if we have to drive to Clairemont all the way from Chula Vista (47 miles round trip). It is worth the trip ! The issue with parking is not The Gluten Free Baking Co fault but it does cause problems when trying to visit their more southern location in North Park. Or maybe open a location in Chula Vista ! OLDER REVIEW: Our son got diagnosed recently with Celiac Disease and as a result cannot eat gluten. We struggle to identify gluten free products sometimes because even if these are labeled as such many times are cross contaminated with gluten and our son gets sick. Today 11/28/2020 I found The Gluten Free Baking Co and decided to go and visit with the goal of buying some treats to take home. When there we were greeted by this nice young lady that answered all of our questions and gave us top notch service. When we got home our son open all of the boxes like it was Christmas and really enjoyed everything but a little more the pumpkin pie. I loved watching him enjoy his treats for at least a moment like he did before he was diagnosed. I want to thank The Gluten Free Baking Co for all their delicious products that they offer customers like us. You have a new happy customer. Highly recommended.

JD was so great! My partner and I visited this shop because i had a sweet tooth, however my partner is vegan and gluten free (and nut free), so I wanted to be accommodating. This place was a short drive from our BNB, we went in and were greeted by JD. I am particular about my baked goods, and JD entertained my quips about texture and what I expect from brownies. I am happy this place exists, as my partner was able to indulge in ways she usually is not able to.

The sweet gal upfront was very polite and welcoming, I ordered lemon blueberry pound cake , chocolate pound cake , sprinkle cookie. LBPC- was very tangy somewhat dry wasn’t my favorite. CPC- This is only my opinion the cake wasn’t moist enough for my liking and the chocolate wasn’t explosive enough ! But !!! The sprinkle cookie was absolute heaven ! Such a phenomenal treat through and through ! I wish I got 30 dozens ahahha <3 I appreciate the service and the effort put into every treat ! Please if you’re in San Diego give them a try do NOT let my review Stir you away ! Oh and try the snicker doodle they were SOLD OUT 😱🥰

Best donuts in north county! Can get a little chaotic in the morning or even in the afternoon so come prepped with a little patience and grace and I promise you won’t be disappointed! Parking can also be a pain but a spot usually opens up sooner or later - at least during SD local summer. Don’t sleep on the cookies and pastries - they’re equally as delicious!

These donuts, banana bread, pastries were excellent. Highly recommend. I'm a donut snob and really enjoyed these. Everything was fresh. They had several breads to choose from as well! We had to drive to this, not or was worth it.

Wife went in to pick up a $50 carrot cake for my birthday party and 13 friends. I was really looking forward to the carrot cake until we cut into it and realized there Was so much frosting that even my 12-year-old complained about it. And to top everything off, there was no raisins or walnuts and you couldn’t even find pieces of carrot in it at all? It was ridiculous. VG’s Used to be the bomb, but quality has gone down and prices have Gone up. Hopefully somebody reads this and educates the cake maker on how to make a carrot cake. Frosting is supposed to compliment, not consume the cake. You guys can do better.

I'm beyond thrilled to see VG's is still there! We used to go there after surfing, on our way to school. That was over 50 years ago!!! We would come from Escondido on the weekends too, when we would camp out overnight on the catamarans that were pulled up on the sand, just before the inlet on the south end of San Elijo...hadn't thought about all this in YEARS...😂

Great bakery and customer service. I'm from NY and had a group meeting in Encinitas. The hotel I was staying at recommended VG Bakery. I wanted specialty cookies for our group's trip to Del Mar Racetrack. I called and spoke with Sarah about what I had in mind. Via email she sent me pictures of the cookies she could make with the racetrack theme. We decided upon horses and horseshoe with flowers. She was even able to add the company name and incorporate our company's color. Everything was confirmed via email. I showed up at the bakery on the date/time agreed upon. My order was ready as planned. Easy...breezy. The cookies were a hit, enjoyed by all, and absolutely delicious!!

First time here and I will definitely be back! One of the best maple bars I’ve had in San Diego- the donut is fluffy, soft, airy, and overall delightful texture with the perfect amount of maple icing. Just dreamy! The blueberry buttermilk bar was solid for an old-fashioned cake donut. I’ve had better Mexican wedding cookies (they were a little on the dry side). I can’t wait to return and try some more baked goods. Nice selection of donuts, cakes, cookies, cupcakes. And friendly service, too!👌🏼

The food at this Italian restaurant is very good and comes impressively close to authentic Italian cuisine. The desserts, cookies, and especially the ice cream are also excellent and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t quite match the high standard of the food. The staff is not very friendly and could definitely be more attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant also leaves something to be desired – a bit more warmth and attention to detail in the decor would go a long way in enhancing the dining experience. Overall, it’s worth visiting for the food and sweets, but don’t expect top-notch service or a cozy ambiance.

The rigatoni e pollo was very good 9/10 and also the lamb rack and tagliatta steak. When we were all done with the food, the lasagna finally came it was not bad but tasted too normal. And the desserts were mid at best and the ice cream was not good at all and frozen.

The outdoor seating is great. Indoor is nice and comfortable. Service is good. Coffee options are limited and just okay. Pastries are authentic Italian but on the dry side.

Food was so amazing. Absolutely outdid themselves on my lobster ravioli, the mushrooms are cooked and seasoned perfectly. Also an amazing Aperol spritz. Recommend to anyone wanting authentic Italian. Ask for extra sauce!! Really just brings it up a notch.

We found this place is one of the tourist areas near downtown. We were told this was more of a college area. Can't remember the name of the area though. It has the best menu of all the Italian places we walked by on the same street. Our first mistake was sitting outside cause it quickly got cold and the heating lamp went out twice. Also the sewer on the street had roaches constantly showing up. The staff dealt with it the best they could but even they were annoyed trying to deal with them and the people complaining. The food was great. Though the portions were way too much for us. So have a big appetite or share entrees. I think next time we are in San Diego. We will try them again but eat inside.

Lamb rack, tagliata steak, rigatoni el pollo, calamari fritti were sooooo delish!! The queen was Lamb rack, u have to try it!! Price was great too.

If you ever get the chance to visit this place, don’t miss their pizza — perfectly thin crust with a juicy, flavorful filling that tastes just like Italy! No jokes! Tastes super authentic! Proof that sometimes, the simplest things are truly the best! Recommend 100%!

So good I forgot to take a photo of the sandwich before I was almost entirely done! This is the type of quality that I used to love about Panera before they went corporate and ruined their bread quality. I am very happy with the quality here and the crowds and line out the door show that I am not alone in this opinion. Great addition to Liberty Station!

As my first time at Con Pane, I would pleased by the whole experience. With the Turkey sandwich I may would preferred it to be somehow more "together". It wasn't problematic, but I think the turkey was a bit too in itself, and the ciabatta bread would have been slightly softer. The interior design was great, layout, architecture. Good overall atmosphere, and parking was not difficult.

Tried this place for the first time today and was very impressed! Service was friendly and fast even though the place was packed. Coffee was served in a huge mug and was just as good as it looked. We also had the Italian salami sandwich on rosemary bread and a cinnamon roll warmed up. Both were very good!!! Highly recommend!

Combining my experience and my husbands in this review as they are very different: Gluten free girl perspective - this place would get 2/3 stars, coffe and a granola bowl option but no other options - no salad, gf cookie or piece of bread. I get it, it’s a regular bread ship, but these days in CA someone usually offers something GF to appease this growing crowd. My gluten eating husband - 5 stars / he loves this spot - the fresh bread and sandwiches specifically. He likes to buy a loaf and chew on it for a day or so and keeps coming back. I’ll let him come without my next time! The coffee he ordered was big and warm and yummy. Not a great work spot as the music is loud and thee are no plugs, also a way I think they like to to be just coursed on a food in and out spot not a coffee shop vibe.

When visiting San Diego, this cafe is always a must stop for us. We love the Liberty Station Vibe, and this Cafe is our favorite stop. Amazing staff, atmosphere, food, coffee. We also love to take a lunch box to go. They pack up a sandwich of your choice, cookie and chips in a nice cute lunch box for later. We take it and eat it later down the road by the beach

Every time I visit San Diego I get my breakfast there! The food is very well prepared and served! The atmosphere is pretty cool and service is great! Sourdough bread is perfect!

Place was good and worth what I paid for, just a heads up this is not a fast food joint so don't expect to pay fast food price. They have a variety of different breads and pastries, the only thing that was annoying is that there is 2 single use bathrooms and of course there's always a line to use it.

Audrey is great to work with ever since my first inquiry! My husband and I ordered our wedding cake through her and we got an insane amount of compliments on how delicious it was! We decided to go with a churro wedding cake which we know isn’t traditional… but it was the absolute best tasting cake ever! I highly recommend getting your wedding cake from here :)

I cannot sing the praises of Frost Me and Audrey more! I was planning a wedding while my husband was in AU and Audrey made the tasting so fun and personable! We went with the coconut cake for one layer and the lavender lemon blueberry for the second layer. I was able to chit chat with Audrey about styles and colors and the cake she created not only looked like a DREAM, but tasted like one as well! Even better than the tastings! My only regret is I didn't save a layer to take home and eat for the week prior to moving back to AU. Thank you again!

Frost me catered the desserts and cakes for our wedding last year at the SD Zoo Safari Park. They delivered the cake and the desserts to the park with care, and everything was in perfect condition. They also worked with our florist to add flowers to the cake. The cake was an absolute show stopper and the guests commented how they got multiple servings of every dessert. Thank you Audrey and team for being a part of our special day!

Atmosphere is very nice. Outdoor seating and not too busy. My blueberry matcha was delicious!!!!!!! The salmon lox bagel was just ok. I would order something different next time but i would come back.

Audrey did such an amazing job with our wedding cake! We gave her guidance that we were going for the “simple but elegant” vibe and gave her our color scheme. She did not disappoint and really shined with cake being simple, but elegant. We did the almond raspberry cake and it was sooo good! Thank you Audrey for being a part of our wedding!

We had our wedding cake made from Frost Me back in February! We had a small cutting cake then two large sheet cakes each with a different flavor. They are priced extremely well and the flavors are so fun! The tasting to pick the flavors was a fun little date as well. Our coordinator was very helpful and super responsive. We also get our birthday cakes from here as well.

Excellent pastries and wonderful French assorted products not often found in the US. I tried the croissant, plain and almond, and both were buttery and flakey with just a bit of crunch. Even the scone was far and away better than anything I’ve had outside of Europe. It’s a bit cramped and tucked in a small gaggle of shops, but it seems very popular which adds to the coziness. They even had my favorite French butter cookies from the continent: Galet de Quimper! I’ll try your breads next time and espresso as well…I will be back 😎

Great hidden spot in Scripps Ranch area. Love the quality of the food, especially the bread. Owner is an actual French pastry chef, and the food shows it. A definite stop you need to make in the area.

Plethora of bread & caffeine heaven! The options are so vast and it took a while to pick, which means we will be coming back go try the rest! Had a great time on Sunday AM! Its not fancy,but a good hangout open spot to be with kids and dogs!

What a cute cafe in the middle of nowhere! Plenty of outdoor seating & nice service. The pastry display has a lot of varieties to choose from. Avocado toast was good. One thing I noticed is that some of the croissant sandwiches are not made to order & already made in the display case. But I'll have to try it next time to see how they are. They also have a crepe station outside. Will try that next time too. But the atmosphere is nice & coffee is hot. Will return for sure.

Great little neighborhood bakery. There are small tables for seating outside. Counter order and everything is fresh. We love this place! Great place to meet up with friends for a coffee and pastry. Their salads, quiche, and sandwiches are good too. I've bought their pate, soups, and deviled eggs too. Cakes can be ordered online and they are delicious as well. On Fridays, they have weekly pre-made dinners to go around $40 for 2. Order online or in store before Friday.

I live in Scripps Ranch and feel incredibly lucky to have a place such as this close by. I travel quite a bit and this place is exactly my type of breakfast and lunch spot. They keep getting better and better and expanding their selections. The only downside is the word is out in regards to how fantastic this place is and it's always busy (which is a good thing as well since I want them to stay in business!!!).

Was so happy to see this open in our neighborhood. My wife loves pastries and I love a great cafe experience and having something we could walk to was exciting. After my first experience here I will never step foot in this store ever again. Extra star for the pastries because I want to be as fair as possible. The pastries were good. I didn't think they were exceptional, we didn't finish all of them, but I wasn't sad about them at all. The apricot filling was especially tasty. The tea I had was good too, steeped appropriately and just what I wanted. The atmosphere is fairly nice. They have custom ceramicware which is pretty if a little impratical in the way the handles are shaped on the cups. The problem came with the service. We sat in the cafe for our breakfast and the employee that rung us up proceeded to come out and "clean" tables less than 5 feet from us for an uncomfortably long time (over 15 mins). We were one of the first people in the store, it was pristine already. Then he finally left and proceeded to come sweep less than 5 feet from us for over 10 mins. We were some of the only customers in the lobby. The whole time he kept looking over to our table, I caught him straight up staring at us more than once. We felt very unwelcome and honestly a little creeped out. I'm a pretty boring person and we weren't talking about anything particularly interesting so not sure why he felt compelled to listen in but we ended up leaving early. Never ever again.

We have been a bunch of times and it has been delicious every time. The pistachio croissant is a staple for us. The lattes, teas, matcha and iced coffee have all been great. It’s a nice place to sit and talk, great light and comfortable atmosphere.

The decor is very nice and the croissant I had tasted really good. It seemed a bit disorganized and unfriendly though even though there were only a few customers. I ordered a Paris Fog and when she handed it to me she said it looks light but it's made correctly. It tasted just like a plain cup of milk though. You cannot get the brunch items until 90 minutes after they open so we had to choose a pastry but there were only about 6 options.

Patisserie Melanie keeps surprising me with incredible pastries. Their kouignette is absolutely sublime. I usually get my order to go, but everything I have tried has been top quality. In my opinion, it is one of the best pastry spots in San Diego. Prices are on the higher side but totally worth it.

A beautiful boutique-esq cafe with a reasonably priced Espresso menu full of variety, delightful decadent pastries, and knowledgable owner who was an absolute treat to get recommendations from! I’d always passed by Patisserie Melanie during its off hours and was always curious by the cute and quaint abode. I was fortunate enough to pop by before work today and hope to visit MORE in the future (Dinner perhaps..?)

Great first experience at this establishment. Croissants were flaky and buttery. My cappuccino was well made and very good. No complaints.

We saw that the patisserie was open after 5 pm, so we'd originally stopped by before dinner to hopefully pick up some pastries. It turns out they have regular dinner service during those hours, but they did have 2 boxes of leftover croissants. We got a box of 2 butter, 2 chocolate, and 2 cheddar paprika for $15+tax - they were all delicious and had excellent lamination. The next morning, we stopped by because many reviews mention the kouign amann, which is my favourite viennoiserie. However, there was only the kouignette, which was disappointingly dense and somehow filled with cinnamon - this was closer to a 3D palmier than a kouign amann. Not saying palmiers aren't delicious, but I would've expected something with softer, fluffier layers for something with a similar name as kouign amann.

My friend and I went to the Baked Bear for the first time ever in Pacific Beach and it was amazing!! My friend got the gooey butter cookies with blackberry crumble ice cream and she loved it. She gives it a 10/10. I got the cookie of the month which was cinnamon roll and then I got a gooey butter cookie with the almond toffee ice cream inside. Mine was unreal. It was one of the best dessert places we’ve been too. We will be returning here!

Best cookies ever! My favorite part is trying the rotating cookies of the month. The amount of ice cream they give when you create an ice cream sandwich is great. Sometimes we ask for half the normal amount. The Gooey Butter Cake is to die for. This location is always clean. The staff is nice.

If been to this place quite a lot in 2018. And visited them now 7 years later and the quality is so good as I had it in mind. The cookies are super chewy and tasty especially when you let them heat up. And the ice cream is so delicious and creamy. I really love enjoying a good ice cream sandwich at the baked bear!!

Loved visiting here! You can pick two different cookies for the top and bottom, then an ice cream flavor, and pick toppings. The ice cream flavors are great! The cookies are delicious. And they will warm up the cookies for you before if you want! Definitely recommend a visit!

We were there last Wednesday and San Diego was a ghost town. I've been to this place lots of times before and the line has stretched clear down the block. It almost seemed like it was closed as the weather was great and kids were all back in school. So a perfect time to go get your ice cream and cookie of choice and enjoy it sitting in the quiet eating area with no one around.

I got a Snicker doodle and White chocolate macadamia nut with Vanilla filling and it was sublime. Every bite was mmmmmm good. As the cinnamon, vanilla and macadamia nuts fused into peak delicious delight. My wife went all in on the blue options as any Percy fan can appreciate. She very much enjoyed it as well.

Came by to buy some pastries to eat by the water. Interior was cleaner than last time, bright, and well organized. Every pastry was labeled with a name and price. They even mentioned the different sizing (intentional). Staff was informative about what they didn’t have that day. Ordered 8 canelés, packaged beautifully. It was a bit dark aka burnt, but interior was fluffy and moist. Almost custardy. Would enjoy more with more depth of flavors like vanilla or rum. The chocolate croissant was the hidden star. I find some places don’t do it well, but The French Gourmet does! The dark chocolate was rich and decadent, with another flavor of something that paired beautifully with the buttery & flaky croissant. It wasn’t dry at all! Pain Aux Raisins, mini, was nicely rolled with ample amount of dark raisins. There was a glaze of honey or apricot on top, that added a subtle shine to the pastry. In addition, we ordered the Twice Baked Almond Chocolate Croissant. This combination was superb. There was a good amount of frangipane and it was fragrant. It was overall a little more dry than the other croissants, since it was twice baked. But it paired really well with coffee! Overall, we spend around $25 maybe. That’s def better than many places where a croissant would be $10! We enjoyed the pastries here and would def come back.

The combination between the bakery and the restaurant makes it special and very convenient. the wooden interior style adds a warm and intimate vibe that’s just perfect. The food is amazing, especially the roasted beet salad, which I absolutely loved. And the bread? Freshly baked and so delicious. That hidden gem in pacific beach is a must visit 😋

Found this little gem today while out for a walk... and glad I did! It was just as advertised. Fresh baked goods and a variety of sandwiches, salads and lots and lots of wine. Staff was super friendly. Clean, quaint and classy. I grabbed a premade panini and they heated it up for me. Rich and crispy! Ask for dijon! Added a peachy dessert as well. Highly recommend. Will be back!

Looked for a bakery working toll late to get a few pieces of cake after a long working day, and they said they are till 9pm. When I made it to their place at 8pm, they closed the door and told they have the bakery closed for today. I was a big disappointment and, of course, I will never come back or recommend it to anybody.

I don’t typically review, but I had the most horrendous service here. First, no one greeted us or asked if we wanted a table. Once we sat down, no one came by to take our order. when we got the attention of our server, he stood two tables away, asking what we wanted to drink, but had no knowledge of the menu - couldn’t recommend a wine nor talk about desserts. Then the wine I ordered was poured very short. We ordered two desserts that were terrible. The strawberries tasted like they were fermenting. The server never brought my mother-in-law the water she ordered. Then, after all of that, we paid with cash, not leaving much of a tip because the service was terrible and the server chased us out of the restaurant to return what would’ve been his tip. As someone who’s worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, I was pretty disappointed. Plus, we were there because we had a bad day and we were really looking for something positive. We will never return.

I came by to pick up a small cake and decided to get the white chocolate fruit tart. It was delicious! Everything here is pricy, but if you value the quality of your pastry, it is worth every penny! The bakery is located in a very nice and relaxing area, and this dessert shop itself has very plain and cozy decor. There isn't anything fancy about the shop (besides their desserts), but the service is wonderful. I had a great time here and highly recommend it as long as you have a high budget for desserts.

Absolutely horrible service, came in with my friend and I and were curious about some of their desserts. We were not only unacknowledged but deliberately ignored. Very rude and nasty looks from the workers. I never got the chance to even ask them about any of their pastries. As soon as this other white woman came in she was greeted immediately with a high and energetic welcome. It was really bizarre and have never experienced service like this.

Perfect cakes for special occasions. Michele customized a cake for my parent's golden 50th wedding anniversary: the end result was stunning! Our guests enjoyed the Gateau Aileen: full of fresh fruit with just the right balance of sweetness. Great service as well - the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.

Interesting experience. The tarts were good, but the mini cakes were a disappointment and for the price we paid?! We spent over $200 on these deserts and won't come again 👋

We stopped to have a light lunch: I opted for the quiche lorraine and salad which was very tasty and my wife opted for the soup and salad combo. We couldn’t resist having desserts: we went for the bit size Pecan Coulds and Pistachio sweets. Small and lovely place.

Edelweiss offers pastries and cakes in individual serving sizes, medium and large sized cakes, and they make custom orders. Really enjoy coming to the bakery for the pleasant smell of fresh baking and for their charming service. Family favorites are their carrot cakes and German chocolate cakes. On 29 Aug 2025, enjoyed their chocolate eclairs, cheese danish, and chocolate cannoli.

I love edelweiss bakery! The staff are always so helpful and kind, like the corner bakeries of yesterday’s. The pastries… oh my gawd! They are all so drool worthy, though my absolute favorite is the strawberry rhubarb tart! Sadly the only downer thing about Edelweiss is that they are too far from my home. Whenever I am in the area of Rancho Bernardo, or even just passing through, I make a point of stopping to get me a tart or cookies or a slice of cake, just because of how could they are.

Nice little bakery of I-15. Has a great selection of cakes, pastries and pies. Tried their pecan brownie and chocolate mousse rock. It is good, but a bit too sweet for my taste. It gets crowded as a lot of people go to this place. Given the variety of great options San Diego has to offer I would say it is a decent bakery, but not something I would visit again.

Asked for a German Chocolate Cake to be made in 24 hours, and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg like the others. The cake was delicious, presentation beautiful, excellent customer service from George. I am so lucky to have found this place! Will order here again. Highly recommend!

I’ve ordered from here for our wedding and now for a first communion. I’ve also ordered for many other occasions over the years. The cakes are always top notch and, as a local, I’ve not yet found a bakery I trust more for special occasion cakes. This particular time most of our adult guests even came back for seconds!

Beautiful and delicious 3 tier cake for our sons 1st birthday. We went with European cake gallery last minute and have no regrets. So many compliments on our cake. From presentation to taste. So glad we did! We had German chocolate on the top, Bavarian raspberry, and black Forrest on the biggest bottom tier. and his smash cake was the cutest. The smash cake was just a chocolate cake. Since he barely got into the cake, I tried it today-5 days later and oh my goodness- probably my favorite. I'm not a really a cake person but yum yum yum.

Our previous baker backed out last minute and I'm so thankful for Linda at European Cake Gallery who helped us out! Planning an event from a different state is a level of stress that is not enjoyable at all. Linda, was kind and receptive to what we were looking for. It's a risk when you haven't met the people making your cake or even tasting it prior but everyone who had a piece of the cake, loved it!!! I would definitely seek them out again in the future.

This is an actual sprinkles location. It was nice to see the menu and all of the seasonal and various flavored cupcakes they have. Staff is very nice and helpful.

They have the best cupcakes ever. It is a little more than what I’d like to pay for cupcakes, but it’s definitely worth it. The red velvet is my favorite and the frosting they use is delicious. It’s not too sweet or overbearing like other buttercream frostings that I’ve had. It’s just right. I would definitely recommend you stop and check them out if your in the area. Fun flavors, friendly staff, and cute little shop. Cupcakes themselves are good but not amazing. The cake was a bit dry, and to some degree there is only a good cake or not good cake; hard to be blown away by anything there. The frosting/flavors add fun options and were where the cupcakes were good, making up for the deficit in the cakes themselves. Overall, it’s a fun shop, definitely worth a try or two!

I wish i wouldve caught her name but i forgot but I ordered some cupcakes for a friend and forgot to attach the note...the sweet girl at the shop went out of the way to include a note in my cupcakes and it made all the difference in the world. She secured a SD Sprinkles fan for sure! Not to mention the cupcakes are always great!

They canceled and refunded my direct order. I called to leave a VM, and the line dropped in the middle. I placed a new order on DoorDash, and they called to tell me they need to recollect payment for the original order that was canceled. They then said to keep the DoorDash order active instead, placing me on hold to double check something- then the line disconnected on me. I called them back, and they said they will be canceling my DoorDash order because they aren't taking any online orders today, which is frustrating because I placed my original order a week ago. Lastly, they never canceled my DoorDash order, so I held out hope, but it just sat there permanently waiting confirmation even though they're open and originally took my order. I simultaneously ordered a BEAUTIFUL cake from Desserts by Clement that never canceled on me, but now we have a vegan colleague who will be missing out on birthday celebrations which feels like a major bummer to me 😥😢. I put in so much effort to find this place with a renowned, vegan red velvet cupcake, but I am just left with disappointment. I'd like to give the staff the benefit of the doubt, but it's difficult to understand what the various hold ups could be. Since I never got to try their desserts, don't stop yourselves from checking it out, but I would be very cautious about preordering anything to avoid the headaches I went through.

They keep changing the ingredients in the dark chocolate cupcake, and it’s honestly awful now! Completely disgusting. They’re using cheap ingredients for the fudge, and it shows. It sucks! Bring back the original recipe! I’ve had Sprinkles in New York multiple times and now here in La Jolla — and La Jolla is clearly using low-quality, cheap ingredients. You think we won’t notice, but we absolutely do.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. Not only are the pies delightful, but they're reasonably priced. You can have a savory pie for dinner and slide right on into pie for dessert! Furthermore, it's next to a florist and a koi pond supply shop that are set up like a family attraction- complete with an aviary, goat pens, and a tortoise enclosure! Gravel paths make for a lovely leisurely stroll after the dinner to work off those delicious carbs! To top it all off, because it's so hidden, it's a quiet, charming place to have dinner at a relaxed pace... in fact, maybe you shouldn't go there at all- so I can keep this place to myself!!

Based on the photos I saw on Google Maps, I was expecting to find a saloon themed restaurant. I was confused when navigation directed me instead to a bakery in a strip mall that is definitely not Western themed, and not the place from the photos. As we headed in, we spotted a window sign for Betty's Pie Whole Saloon, but the signage and place is Elizabethan Desserts & the 50's Cafe. The staff were friendly. I shared a delicious mini strawberry and rhubarb pie.

Really tasty pies! Sunday is not a good nite to purchase. Not much was left. Bought a small Key Lime pie, the best in town. For my daughter, she picked the pumpkin pie, deelicious! The grand kids bought cup cakes, but said the frosting & cake part was dry. I had to agree with them. For that reason could only give them 4 stars.

This place came highly recommended so we were excited to add another breakfast spot to our list. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. I had the Arelys scramble with hash browns and husband had the breakfast croissant with house potatoes. Everything was meh. But the item that was most disappointing was the Crème brûlée. French restaurant should have this down. Awful! One bite and there was no way I could have another. Hubby had the cheesecake. Not good. I rarely give bad reviews. I usually say nothing if I can't say something good. But this one, I had to say something. The service was great but they need new chefs.

Arely’s food is consistently superlative, and the staff always friendly. They made our wedding cakes (plural because we had a small wedding and a large party on a different day). We love Sunday brunch as well. Mmmm! Love the Salmon Eggs Benedict! Yum!

A pretty cute French bakery which serves breakfast and lunch as well. When we went there on a Thursday morning, the restaurant was packed and needed 15-20 minutes for an indoor seat. It’s so popular. We shared 4 different dishes and we all agreed the sweet dishes are much better than the savory ones. So I recommend the stuffed French toast and fruit crepes.

Great service, great food, and a lot of vegetarian options. My wife and I have visited a couple of times, and have had a great experience. The quichés here are amazing. You must try their pastries for desert. We like the cheese danish. We will be coming back, and we highly recommend you check this delicious bakery cafe. You won’t regret it!

I went here on a weekend at evening and was able to find a place to sit without a wait. I liked their coffee. Food tasted good and was filling but the cheese and butter overpowered other flavors. The service was fast. I wouldn't mind going again.

Great little cafe with a fun atmosphere and friendly service. The open face toast sandwiches are delicious. Crepes looked wonderful as well but I wish they had a vegetarian option for a savory crepe. There is a wide selection of coffees and teas but no juices. The butter croissant was amazing- light, flaky and smooth as silk. It's a nice little place to sit and have a meal.

24 hours prior to our event all of confrence giveaway got lost in transit. Cupcakes Squared in less than 24 hours was the only company in San Diego who was able to come thru for us with 100 cupcakes and a little custom flag for each. They also brought us individual boxes so we can hand the cupcakes to our customer.. Thank you so much! They looked amazing and taste great. All our customers kept coming back for more. These are legit cup CAKES - substantial, flavorful, and not-dry. Haven't yet disliked any flavor, but some of my favorite are lemon and Kim Brulee. They'respecial and shareable with special people. Nice service here, hopefully I can try their coffee. The only downside is the limited time they're open.

I used to love this place! Amazing and unique flavors but last two times I went back there’s a man upfront who is rude as can be. Especially when asking about new flavors they have. Seems like he doesn’t even want to be there. He didn’t even wear gloves when he touched my cupcakes and sneezed near them. I was so disgusted I didn’t even want to take them but I know she does good work. Then sadly… I found a hair in my cupcake and now I just feel sick whenever I think of coming back again.

I was really excited to try this place and the flavors they offered looked so tasty. I ordered some mini cupcakes, lilikoi, vanilla and not-so-red-velvet, unfortunately the only positive was the cake density, which was good and very moist. There was almost no flavor to the actual cake or frosting through, it was bland and had no hint of passion fruit or vanilla or anything other than butter and sugar. I was so disappointed, not sure if I hit them on an off day or what but would be hesitant to go back based on my first experience there.

Excellent cupcakes. Every time I'm down in San Diego I will come here for a handful of cupcakes. Wife and I had these for our wedding long ago and to this day they are still the best. The cake is always moist, especially on the gluten free cakes. Love all the flavors I just wish you could open up another shop in Sacramento!

I had the pleasure of trying Maya’s Cookies, a Black woman-owned bakery in San Diego specializing in gourmet vegan cookies. My office and I received them as a gift from one of our vendors (great gift idea). The team loved them! The packaging and presentation were really nice. Great idea to bring to an office for all to enjoy. The cookies are not overly sweet. My favorite was the Everything Cookie, it had the perfect combination of salty and sweet, I highly recommend! They are on the firmer side, but a quick few seconds in the microwave turns them into soft, gooey perfection, which is more my style of cookie. I can’t wait to visit the bakery in person to get the full Maya’s Cookies experience! Highly recommend giving them a try—whether you’re vegan or not, these cookies are a treat.

Not sure where to begin... I can't believe one of the only photos I have from the hundreds of times I've bought their cookies.. I have the time that I got a holiday platter, haha. Every single veg fest that Maya's is in attendance.. I will be driving to it, and whenever I'm in SD.. it's mandated to pick some up. Maya's bakes the very best cookies ever.. this isn't a lie. I dream about her cookies when I'm away from them... every single flavor is a HIT. The birthday cake is my favorite and the marbles.. whenever they have the ube cookies.. HONEY, it's OVER.. they are the best cookies in existence. Not to mention... Maya is a complete angel, she's the nicest business owner I've met in many years. Almost embarrassed to post the type of review that I roll my eyes at when I see them, but THIS IS IT!! I'm an omnivore and proudly turn my nose up at vegan, wheat (gluten) free food items. Went to their storefront today, and besides how cute and clean the store is, the aroma of sugar and spice and everything nice is amazing! It's what every candle that says 'Sugar Cookie' wants to smell like, and should smell like. But I digress... The cookies. Oh, the cookies!! These palm-sized pieces of joy (about 5" in diameter) are fairly thick (I cut it in pieces easily). Bought Iced Oatmeal (no raisins-Yippee!!), Snickerdoodle and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. All were delicious; soft and not crumbling when you take a bite. While not inexpensive, the 1st bite justified the price.

Hear me out. These cookies are by far some of the best cookies I have ever tasted. I was the person that would never look at anything vegan however I have recently had to go dairy free and found this place. If you like a soft and delicious cookie, this is your place. It has made my transition to dairy free diet less painful. I love that I can enjoy a delicious sweet treat.

These cookies are so tasty and have great texture. A little pricy, but they are massive. New flavors get released pretty often and are inventive and always a treat. My fave is the drunken grandma, I wish they would go back to being on permanent rotation! Bonus? The cookies are all vegan! As a non-vegan, I literally would have never known if I hadn't read it on their site. They're just as rich and decadent non-vegan cookies!

Delicious cookies at Maya’s! Hard to believe that they’re vegan as well! We got four cookies, chocolate chip, s’more, cupcake, and snickerdoodle. All very yummy. Friendly employee and very quick in and out. Hope they expand soon, could see them in a mall being very successful. Recommend!

Went on a weekday evening and the store was packed and barely any bread & pastries left to buy. So I recommend going early. Bathrooms are dirty, tables were a mess, barely enough chairs for the tables. The drinks were okay. We had a few slices of cake and they werent even cold, they were lukewarm. Was the glass cake with pastries even turned on? its a health hazard, as the it needs be refrigerated at all times. Overall I think the bakery was understaffed considering the amount of customers visiting there. Only 2 people working is not enough. If they had more people working at a busy store, the overall condition would be better…

I went there yesterday afternoon to get my favorite drink. I always get the red grapefruit green tea and it always comes out reddish orange like the color of grapefruit. Whoever makes their drink or this drink needs to be retrained or reassigned to some other sections. As you can see in the picture, its only green tea barely any grapefruit syrup on it. I didn't even ask for a less sugar. They probably also added water on it because its the lightest grapefruit drink. It darker on the bottom part because of my hand. The cost co green tea is much darker than this.

The cashier named Rohannah really killed the vibe while we were there. We had a lot of people in front of us that were in the way and she was giving us an attitude about “next in line”. She was yelling at us for no reason. Also the person making our drink couldn’t even get our drink right and didn’t put boba. I’m not going to pay for something extra and not receive it. After reading a few of the reviews I can see now that I won’t be returning to this location. Management just gives out the same bs that they do and say they’ll talk to staff, but clearly they prefer to have rude staff and not provide the customers what they pay for.

I personally love the Sugared Cream Cheese Brioche and the tiger boba. Ive honestly driven two hours just for it because its so good and I'd do it again. They have a wide variety of iteams and there drinks are amazing. There prices are so good. You'd except over 50$ to 60$ dollars but you can walk out with 2 boxes full of stuff for only 30$ to 40$. I recommend it to anyone who goes to san diego or just any place with a 85c.

My favorite place to buy pastries, berry tale and mango tale are my favorite. But this time I came the whole place smelled like wet dog or a hamster cage or something

Prices for baked goods are not as expensive as Paris Baguette. Loved how everything is individually wrapped. It would get 5 stars if it could be a less messy and cleaner store. The food trays to put your items on were dirty.

Delicious, thoughtful vegan food! The breakfast sandwich was delicious although the bun felt a little heavy/overpowering. I did go late and I believe they were out of the usual bun option so partly my fault. The service was lovely! They were kind, welcoming and helpful in choosing what to order. The menu looked amazing and we will be back to try many more things! There isn’t much seating- it’s more of a take and go sort of place.

So amazing!!! Hero was so helpful and offered to take care of me when I told him how I never tried the edible cookie dough I purchased last time because I left it in our Airbnb. Love the coffee and all of the delicious treats. Always a place I stop by for vegan gluten free delicious treats, adorable decor and fun experience when we come in town!

If you are looking for a bakery that is 100% gluten free and vegan this is your place. And things taste amazing too. Everything we tried was great, shout out to the breakfast pizza and friendly staff. Drinks were solid as well. Took a whole bag of goodies with us back home to Minnesota.

Ordered our wedding cake here for our small elopement gathering and it was beautiful, delicious and perfect!! No one could believe it was gluten free and there was not one sliver that went to waste. The online order process was a seamless one and very simple. The day before the order was ready, the baker texted to confirm a couple of things and the pickup was easy and pleasant.

Very welcoming customer service and atmosphere. There was very little wait time for my drinks. Drinks were wonderful and the peanut butter cookie was amazing. Sophia attended me with love and care and and i will definitely be coming back soon!

Such an adorable bakery- love the sprinkles on the wall! I finally was able to make it down to get a cinnamon roll. I also pre ordered a coffee cake muffin and an ube lemon donut- saving those for breakfast tomorrow. We also purchased a peanut butter cookie, a sprinkle cookie (delish and gone already) and a confetti cupcake (already half gone, having a hard time not finishing it😬). As a person with celiac disease who also has to eat dairy free and egg free I am so appreciative of a bakery that is strictly vegan and gluten free. My only wish is that they were more central in San Diego but it’s probably a good thing they aren’t around the corner! Last thing, the cinnamon roll was $17 so I REALLY hope I love it!!

Even if you are not Vegan or animal-cruelty conscious, what Hazel & Jade bakery has created with vegan butters and creams is fabulous! I don’t know how these 2 pastry chefs accomplished where others have failed, but their pastries, desserts and whole cakes rival any “dairy” dessert. They also have really fun coffee drinks with in house syrups and “milks”, along with breakfast croissants with vegan “meats”.

Love this place! We got 2 cakes for our wedding. Hazel was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to make sure our cakes were exactly what we envisioned. We chose a berries and cream cake and a gluten-free chocolate cake, and both were absolutely perfect—gorgeous and delicious. Our gluten-free guests were so happy to have a tasty option. Hazel’s care and attention to detail really showed in the final result, and we’re so grateful.

This is an excellent croissant. Delicious flaky layers, buttery without being oily. As a kid, I used to love getting a ham and cheese croissant at the local bakery with my mom as a special treat and this vegan version really hits the nostalgia for me. Thank you so much🙏

I was pleasantly surprised that when I arrived 10 minutes before they closed that thet still had croissants and other baked goods to choose from. While not ideal to arrive so late on a first-visit to this establishment, I appreciated that there was no issues purchasing some baked goods and an iced chai latte to-go. A short walk later, I consumed my goodies in Balboa Park. The chia latte was spicy in a great way. Croissant was so buttery. The outside had a nice crunch while the inside was fluffy and airy. I would love to come back earlier in the day to see if this was a good representation of what they are like more freshly baked. I have yet to consume the coffee cake, but it looks delicious. Very happy with my last-minute afternoon pop-in. 🙏 So much love and appreciation for restaurants who have a plant-based cuisine. Vegetarians and vegans, this is the spot for you.

WOW! Hazel & Jade blew our socks off with the wedding cake that they made for us. I could not recommend them more. Not only was our cake incredibly delicious, but it was so beautiful to look at. I didn't want to cut into it; that is how gorgeous it was! It was really important to me to have a vegan wedding cake, and this team just blew it out of the water. We ended up choosing the gluten-free chocolate chip, and it was so moist and delicious. I am just sad we don't live in town, and we will have to wait until we are back to visit this place! If you are looking for a delicious wedding cake, look no further because you've found it! Thank you to your team from the bottom of our hearts!

The breakfast "sausage" pastry is so good, whatever the heck is in that thing is delicious! But really all of the pastries I've gotten here have been amazing. The coffee drinks are great, too. I love the almond-cashew blend milk. And...did I mention those pastries?? They really are something else! Staff are always lovely, too. Great place!

BEST bakery ever! Vegan or non-vegan! The person who helped us out was kind and helpful with the menu as well as a kind passerby. Everything on the menu is vegan and there are some gluten free options as well. Lots of coffee options but the baked goods blow the drinks out of the water. The cinnamon roll is the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had, vegan or non-vegan. Super crispy and chewy. The breakfast croissant is flaky and buttery with gooey cheese and a yummy sausage it was the perfect combo. Seasonal apple tart was delicious, delicious crumble and perfectly cooked apples inside. Truly incredible place. Would come back again and again!

The first time I discovered Baby Cakes was in 2010. They were at a different location then and at that time had a large selection of these specialty flavored cupcakes. The line was always out the door. After lunch, my family and I stopped by the new location and picked up 3. This is a smaller location with fewer options, but they were delicious!

Omg omg omg!!! Delicious!!! My friends bought me 3 cupcakes and a cheesecake for my birthday. They were absolutely delicious! Babycakes delivered, so it was a really nice surprise to see them waiting for me. Each flavor was super unique and beautifully decorated. Red velvet, lemon, and a white cake. Such a great gift and you can reply taste the quality in these cakes. Not overly heavy so you feel good after and not super stuffed! Can’t wait to go back now on my own for a special treat or to buy some for a gift!!! Amazing!!!

This place is really cute and they have many options for cupcakes and other desserts. They offer coffee and alcoholic beverages. We got the chocolate /peanut butter brownie it was just kind of disappointing because it just was sweet and no flavor of peanut butter.

So this cake was freaking amazing!! I ordered this cake over the phone 450 miles away for my daughters 5th birthday... paid for it and prayed... OMG best cake I ever had im talking good, moist, cute, just everything!!! Thank you guys so much!!! Worth every penny!!! (I added the rainbow myself)

If you like cupcakes or want a custom cake baby cakes is a solid place to checkout. They do wedding cakes, cupcakes and mini cupcakes. It’s definitely worth getting in touch with them for custom options before hand. Everything I tried was good and they have a huge selection.

Wheelchair accessible with parking and a ramp up to the building! The employees here are so friendly and wonderful! LGBT+ friendly, of course. Dog friendly, also. They have inside as well as outside seating, and the cupcakes are delicious! They also have drinks (coffees and tea), a few cookies, and muffins. A single cupcake is $4.50, which is reasonable for how beautiful they all are!

I couldn't more be happier with my rush order! They made two dozen cupcakes for my daughter's birthday and they were delicious. The cupcakes were huge, moist, flavorful, and beautiful. I highly recommend Babycakes.

I have to say, the donuts look amazing! Holy moly, they are big donuts, too. However, as they say, "Don't judge a book by its cover." These big beautiful donuts were super dry almost stale and lacked a fresh flavor.

My overall experience with Doughnut Bar Eastlake has been a good one. I've seen this place many times before, but haven't tried it. Today was finally my day to try these delicious doughnuts. Things are a bit expensive, but if you utilize certain food apps like the one I used. My total was dramatically reduced. The next time you have a sweet tooth, try the Doughnut Bar of Eastlake.

A must visit! As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the delicious smell of fresh donuts. Their selection is great, donuts are huge, and everything is delicious. Good selection of coffees too. We had the unicorn donut and the pumpkin cream cheese and they were both so good.

I've been here a few times to try some of the different donuts they have, but they are pretty flavorless. No matter the day or time I've tried them, they're always really dry and taste old. They're huge and bread tasting, also quite expensive compared to a regular shopping center donut shop. I'm a donut lover and these miss the mark.

Picked up my donut here since its the only donut bar that's open late. Decent selection at 4pm. I got homer, circus circus, mudpie, red velvet, creme brulee, nutella overload and DB's nutella. They come in huge size donuts, except for few. I'd recommend splitting one with another person and pair with a cup of tea or coffee.

WOw! I was there when they open it and the lines were very long yet is was worth it. Then they closed the place for a little bit and there was a change of ownership. We were very impress with the people, the service and the flavor. The new owners did a little changes and they do open now early and close later than before the change of ownership. The place has seating outside the shop and you can enjoy the beautiful pond and outside. The flavor of the doughnuts hasn't disapoint and the variety on the menu is amazing. I am still looking forward to eat the french toast doughnut they only make them in the morning of Saturday & Sunday. The young lady that helped me and my wife was super friendly and very awesome. Always smiling. Another product I have to try next time I come back is going to to be thier drinks. They all look good and very well served. The Mall has handicap spaces and ramps for handicap trafic. Also the patio is very easy to get to. There aren't any children seats, yet there are a lot of families with children that are used to carry the kids on their legs. All an all the Donut bar is a great experience and we getting ready to go back again some time next week. I recommend the place 100% Love it!!!

I‘m from Germany and I really missed good bread here, when I found out about Prager Brothers I was skeptical but I was very surprised by the quality and taste of the bread. Absolutely amazing! I really liked the Bauernbrot.

The first photo is what the spicy Italian used to look like. The second photo is what they look like now. And it still costs the same amount. No more arugula, barely any meat. Very sad.

This is an above average bakery with a nice selection. I give 3 stars because I’ve literally never been in without the food items have flies on them. Rest assured there will be at least two flies within the food case. If it were my store I’d obsess over eliminating that issue. Has made me walk out multiple times.

The staff was very cheery and helpful. They kindly answered my dumb questions. The walnut sourdough was irresistible. The Belgian pretzel had a great flavor, but since I got it at the end of the day, it was a little stale.

I love this place, they have good sandwiches and breads, have tried almost all of them, but today for the second time in less than a week I was there to pick up a sandwich, there was a fly in the shop wondering on the sandwiches, I let the cashier know, the fly literally flew flew and walked his way inside the sandwich, I told the cashier which sandwich it was, he pick it up, shook it and the fly flew out back into the display glass and shockingly, the cashier put the same sandwich back into the display shelf! He said yeah, we have flies and can't do much about them!!!! Seriously?!! You can't catch a fly and will let that fly sit on all the sandwiches and you sell them to people?! Even after me pointing the fact that there is a fly, after three days you never bothered to catch the fly?! So I am really wondering what is going in back in the preparation area! God knows what kind of insects are feeding on the supplies that they make sandwiches! Will never step a foot into this shop! Such a shame!!!

I first met the owner when I just arrived in SD. I’ve been ordering cakes from her ever since because hers are both visually stunning and delicious. Finally, after the pandemic, her shop opened! She’s always stood out in the competitive dessert market through her commitment to high-quality ingredients, innovative fusion, and visual aesthetics, winning the hearts of many. I’ve seen some friends complain about the prices, but the taste is truly worth it—perfect for an occasional treat to satisfy your sweet tooth! This time, I tried the caramel crepe cake and the Mango Pomelo Sago. Both were amazing, but I especially recommend the Mango Pomelo Sago—it’s seriously the best I’ve ever had, so good I can’t stop drinking it once I start 😍～ The shop is small but cozy, with a fresh, minimalist decor, ideal for a quiet chat or some solo relaxation. Just be sure to avoid peak weekend hours and reserve popular items in advance—otherwise, they might sell out if you come late!

I really enjoyed the matcha crepe cake and the blueberry milk. I like that the desserts aren’t overly sweet here and made with organic ingredients (huge plus). Though the prices are definitely higher than most dessert places.

I went in for the first time a week ago and ordered a custom birthday cake and the staff were so kind and accommodating to what i asked for, and the cake looked exactly like the picture i showed them! The cake was delicious and even though it was pricey i would definitely buy from them again for upcoming holidays, the quality was incredible and it tasted so fresh!

I love this cute cafe. Some of the best desserts. The matcha crepe cake is divine and the sea salt Oreo cake is amazing too. I love the service. I do think the cakes are a bittttt pricey but it’s great for a special treat.

The desserts are good, but definitely not worth the price. my friend and I shared a box of twelve tiny milk mochi worth $10. I guess when you compare it to prices in Asia it's a bit of a shocker. Their cakes were also not bad, but they also had nothing that stood out from other cake shops. Other than that, staff was friendly and patient, and the ambience was great to study in! Cute decor too :)

A really nice small dessert shop. I got the snow mochi with the strawberry and oreo flavors. They are absolutely delicious and fresh. The only downsides to this place is how expensive it is. For a nice treat yourself dessert it is quite nice.

Tried the pistachio basque cheese cake, the black sesame and strawberry cake. It’s light but way too overpriced and taste wise not overwhelmingly good, average at most. Wouldn’t come back again. Crepe cake from lady M I found better and even cheaper.

Had bad customer service , a girl with dark hair , I used to love coming here because I’m vegan.. and the pastries were cute looking. Now that it’s been more than twice it’s hard to support this business. I’ve ordered online , and so has all my family members, friends, and we have all gotten the same experience when picking up our orders.. I’ve gone to this bakery since it first was open and have always supported it. Not sure why your response is so unprofessional. I’m not mistaken on the bakery .

When I come to CA, I’m always looking for a new vegan bakery to try.. 😋 SPLIT BAKEHOUSE 10/10! My gosh.. everything I bought was delicious. The best part is the delicate balance of sugar in it all. You’d think the Pineapple Passionfruit Cruffin may be very sweet - nuh uh! Flaky, tastes like a real fruity jelly inside. Excellent attention to detail and pastry skills! The woman at the front window was sweet, patient, and helpful - she even told me what’s best to enjoy same day and which ones can be enjoyed in the next couple days. ❤️

Garbage! Not edible. $30 For 4 items One bite and straight to the dumpster! I've been vegan for 10 years and I cannot recall a food experience that was this bad! I sat with this since Monday morning, and I took 2 days to decide whether or not to express my sorrow and regret of trying out Splithouse bakery for the first time.

I used to love this bakery, but it's really frustrating that they no longer offer counter service. Now you have to order everything in advance, which completely takes away the spontaneity and joy of stopping in for a fresh treat. Sometimes I just want to see what's available and grab something on the spot,like a real bakery experience. The new system feels impersonal and inconvenient, especially for regular customers who miss the old charm.

I love their pastries — especially the spinach one — but the ordering system is a mess. They used to have a walk-up window (simple and normal), but now it’s pre-order only. Craving something? Too bad — you should’ve planned that 2 days ago. Missed the pre-order? Now you have to hunt down a café partner on their site and cold-call them to see if they have it. Not exactly convenient. Great product, frustrating experience.

I placed an order online and picked up my goodies at Camp Coffee Roasters in Oceanside - figured I wasn't missing out on much in terms of ambiance since this business is just a pickup window ;) Overall I was a bit disappointed and would try a different bakery in SD next time instead of coming back here. What I ordered: Cheeze Danish: 4/5 - not my usual type of dessert but I don't come across vegan versions often! It was sprinkled with sugar which I could've done without. Brownie: 3/5 - my husband's choice, I'm not really a brownie person and this one didn't do much to move the needle Croissant Filled with Chocolate Hazelnut Spread: 1/5 - terrible, the filling tasted bitter and almost lemony? I was expecting a Nutella-esque filled croissant but was instead completely confused on whether I was given the wrong thing (I wasn't, matched the photos). Super disappointed as I was looking forward to this one the most. Cherry Pistachio Cruffin: 5/5 - the best of the bunch I tried. I appreciated the real fruit and not just 'cherry flavoring' Cinnamon Roll with Glaze: 4/5 - pretty good, comes in a muffin liner and has the perfect amount of cinnamon-y filling I also got a chocolate chip cookie at Nibble Chocolate. It was soft and delicious though a few more chocolate chips inside would be great - I give it a 4/5. It's nice that Split Bakehouse sells their goodies at several establishments around town.

This place is fairly new to Mira Mesa and unique! The cake art is marvelous, I haven't personally tried them but they look tasty. They have a summer special at the moment! Everyday would be a different drink, buy one get one free. For example, today is Friday, so we get Thai Iced Tea buy one get one free! I ordered the Taro smoothie and Mango Matcha! I recommend you get these drinks, they're amazing! Parking cam be difficult in this location as there's EV chargers and limited parking spaces near. It shouldn't be to difficult though, just avoid busy times. Being a bakery, there's many pastry options! Haven't tried them all but they look delicious! I recommend this place for everyone, especially if they're in the area. They also have a reward system you can join, just simply input your number when purchasing!

Fairly new Sunmerry location - the first in San Diego. They have a great mix of sweet and savory items, including larger cakes, and also drinks. When we went it was very crowded since it was a Saturday and they're pretty new, but the staff were really efficient and friendly so it wasn't chaotic at all. Everything we picked up was good, and I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with any of it. Their cake designs are also really fun and I'm looking forward to getting one for my next birthday! There is a restroom available and some outside seating.

I ordered strawberry cream cake for the Mother’s Day. Cake not really good. I had hoped that I can get more fresh taste but not.

I enjoyed the food and drinks, but the customer service was lacking. Despite being one of the few customers, the staff made no effort to greet us. When we ordered, the cashier seemed annoyed and didn't even say thank you. A simple welcome or acknowledgement would have gone a long way, especially considering the bakery's newness and nearby competition. Unfortunately, the poor service ensures I won't be returning.

We came in early morning and the savory breads are already cold. The taste was fine, nothing exemptionally good. The cake selection however is something I would comeback and try, maybe that will redeem this place for me. The place has no inside seating, outside seating is available that shares with other business in the area. Outside seating during winter though without any heater is not so enticing. So we order, left and ate at home. We also ordered seems like a cronut with filling, a bit heavy for me but it taste good. Hokkaido cream is good.

This is a bakery from Taiwan located in Mira Mesa. They sell special sesame paste and melo melo too，but after looking around, I didn’t find any particularly interesting bread. So I picked up a box of cream puffs, thinking they couldn’t go wrong. But after one bite, they tasted nasty—the pastry was hard, nothing like the soft, airy texture of other ‘cream puffs.’ The cream inside was overly sweet and tasted like cheap, low-quality stuff. It’s nowhere near as good as the cream puffs back home… After one bite, I didn’t want to eat the rest. Really disappointing—I probably won’t go back… Total letdown. Wouldn’t recommend.

Really a nice vibe happening here. This strip mall is lively and crowded. I saw so many Asians and of course others blended in.... You'll enjoy their Japanene made pallette of goodies. Nothing I bought was overly sweet. My family enjoyed the goodies! There are some boba drinks that u can buy one and get one free during this summer. Hope you try it out!

Nice coffee shop with quality food options. Ordered a cappuccino and breakfast sandwich. The coffee was little stronger than I take it. Not a negative just a consideration depending on how strong you like your coffee. Went early so easy ordering and sitting at a table but it definitely picked up as we sat there.

One of my favorite bakeries closed down (Flour Power), so I began the search for a new bakery that makes custom cakes. I stumbled upon Secret Sister and noticed all the different cake flavors, fillings, and icings. Bingo! Bookmarked and saved for later! Well turns out my husband pleasantly surprised me with a couple of cakes slices and the country sourdough loaf for Mother’s Day. Wowww… the fennel chocolate cake with orange malt vanilla cream cheese was incredible and knocked my socks off. The vanilla chiffon cake with strawberry earl grey jam was just as good, but very subtle and light. After tasting these two cakes slices, it is confirmed that Secret Sister will be making my next custom cake. I typically buy my sourdough loaves from local micro bakeries, but it is nice to know Secret Sister makes an amazing country sourdough. So happy to finally try this place!

Loved that they had so many sourdough treats. They had this strawberry earl gray baked good that tasted so heavenly. Loved well the food and the customer service was awesome. Oh also, they sell their sourdough starter! Just ask!

Came here for Sunday brunch and really appreciated the healthy/ artisan vibes. The quiche was the tallest I’ve ever had and tasted rich. I liked that the waiter asked details about how I wanted my matcha latte such as type of milk, flavored sweetener options etc. The al fresco dining made this space stand out! This is a definite yes for me.

I mean this is the best way possible - what do you all put in your pastries?! I got the breakfast roll with fig jam, poppy seed scone and the brown butter chocolate chip cookie and OH MY GOD. I cannot underscore how amazing these all are! The staff is also super kind and welcoming! One of their staff gave my pup a dog treat and imagine it was equally as yummy because my picky pup devoured it in minutes. DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!

Sourdough lovers pull up. Secret sister has absolutely top notch bread and pastries, with a truly sour flavor that I feel like many sourdoughs don’t quite achieve. The pastries have such unique flavors. The morning bun options are absolutely exquisite, usually some gooey, doughy cinnamon flavors with all sorts of additions - this one had earl grey and strawberry rhubarb. I always get a baguette if they aren’t sold out, slice it, and freeze it so I can heat it up to perfection when I’m ready for a slice. Come early for the biggest selection and if you’re hoping to snag a baguette. To note: plenty of vegetarian options, limited vegan (maybe just bread), usually a couple gf pastries

I wish I had taken a picture of the amazing food. Exceptional. The bagel is so so flavorful. The morning bun with raspberry jam and earl grey jam was the best thing in existence. This food is very light on the stomach. Ñ
