Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, is a vibrant and retro chain that offers a creative seasonal menu for breakfast and lunch along with cocktails. Despite being the runner-up for the best brunch in San Diego, this spot is a dream for those looking to tantalize their taste buds. The restaurant has a colorful retro-futuristic vibe and reinvents breakfast daily. Their pancake flight offers fluffy, syrup-laden options while their benedicts come with unique twists on hollandaise sauce.
You can tell we loved it by our last photo! Ha. This place is incredible. I have been to a couple of locations and this one was just as amazing. The food is beyond delicious. My husband is still talking about his pancake and I LOVED my bravocado toast. The flavors are so good! Our server was so chill and great and the atmosphere was busy and fun. Our wait time was short for a Saturday morning and we were happy with our entire experience. 10/10

Yes, Luis... our server... this Snooze in San Diego, IS better than the one in Scottsdale! 😆 Luis was great server, friendly efficient and really did serve! The food was very good. I really enjoyed the link sausage, and the pumpkin pancakes (cooked smaller upon request) were very good. We enjoyed them just wirh butter and the pumpkin flavor popped. Nice fresh eggs, cooked as ordered. We were in a bit of a time crunch and Luis brought the check when requested. Very nice experience, especially enhanced by Luis.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast and it never disappoints. If you are looking for a good quality, then this is the place! The OMG French toast is so delicious and addictive. The atmosphere is casual and okay not like your 5 star restaurant but the customer service is good.
Saba F — Google review
Our friends recommended this place, and we were so impressed with the friendly service and extensive food selections. Our server Ricky welcomed us by letting us know the menu was very flexible and they were willing to work with us. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Reasonably priced and a variety of portion sizes to match your needs.

A little old school diner, A little brunch vibe, a LOT of delicious. I’ve been to snooze a handful of times, each time there is a new cocktail or entree I’m obsessed with! A must-try for breakfast and booze lovers alike!

Our favorite San Diego brunch restaurant. The food is always Delicious with good portions. Service is so great. The awesome drinks compliment the food.

Google doesn’t apparently like it when I copy and paste my FB review of this place so I made it as a photo since I’m too lazy to rewrite it. Overall, this is a great spot for breakfast. Go read the first picture and you’ll see all my gripes. I gripe allot.
TheRomanian1000 — Google review
Really great food, service and experience overall. It was so great not to have to break the tie between the specialty pancakes and omg fresh toast by doing them all on a flight. The grits were the best ive had in a long time, no additional seasoning needed (savory). My Mr loved the gluten free pancakes and was glad he could get a pancake flight too. Sometimes, the gluten free menu is limited and he doesn't get many options, at Snooze, he had the same experience he'd have if not for the food allegey. All was very good! Everyone left full and happy.

Breakfast Republic is a popular breakfast spot with a fun and quirky atmosphere, offering inventive breakfast dishes, craft beer, and cocktails. It's suitable for families, groups, tourists, vegetarians, and brunch enthusiasts. With multiple locations in San Diego and SoCal, the restaurant takes breakfast seriously while maintaining a playful sense of humor. They offer seasonal drinks like Pomegranate Mimosa and Iced Cereal Milk Latte along with their famous Jurassic Pork Bloody Mary.
Breakfast Republic has such a friendly and energetic vibe. My hubby loves a good Bloody Mary and boy does this place have a good Jurassic Bloody Mary! The food is delicious and they have their own brand of hot sauce and ketchup. We went twice during our trip to San Diego!!!

Breakfast Republic was a memorable breakfast experience for my husband & I during our stay in SD. I was hesitant to order the Chilaquiles but omg I am so glad that I did. They were delicious! I paired it with Cafe de Olla also SO good. My husband got the Traditional Eggs Benedict. The service was great. Overall I’ll definetly return next time we are in town.

I am not a big breakfast person, but I could eat here daily (if only there was one in my backyard)! The food was awesome. We enjoyed the omelet and "pancake flight." And oh, the mimosa was the best I have had in a really long time! Will plan to eat here any and every time we visit beautiful San Diego!

Big shout out to Marissa and Gustavo who were the most personable and sweet servers. We loved this place for our first breakfast in San Diego. It seems that I give 5 stars often but if I could give a 10 it would be here at the Breakfast Republic. Best avocado toast anywhere (which is my go to when eating out for bfast) adding an over-medium cooked egg. Hubs ordered shrimp and grits which is a highly desired dish here. Ambiance is relaxing and laid back.
Trish W — Google review
Breakfast Republic was an absolute delight. The food was great. The service was super fast and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Gustavo at the G street location was the best!! I loved the overall ambiance of the restaurant and it’s clearly a fan favorite based on how much business was coming through! If you’re looking for great fast service stop by.

Got myself a breakfast jambalaya, which was absolutely phenomenal. Between my friends, they got pancakes, steak and eggs, and french toasts that all seemed very tasty. My only gripe is that our receptionist didn't seem too friendly when we asked for a table of 14 and that we had to wait a decent while despite some tables being empty inside. Otherwise the food and service was pretty good.
Jaewon L — Google review
Great experience. Don't be fooled by the long line- it actually goes by quick. We signed up and walked around, all other breakfast spots in the area, had longer wait times. People are super friendly and so open to give recommendations- which were on point. I tried the shrimp grits- I love them and figured if I didn't like them- my family was willing to share their food (which was basic traditional breakfast- so you can't mess it up). My shrimp and grits were so good and their brussel sprouts were amazing- don't worry they might look a little burnt but they were so good. We tried their three-pancakes as well (don't judge, lol.. yes, it might have looked like a lot on our table but we needed to eat enough to hold us over for our long drive home). Anyhow, our fave was for sure the pineapple pancake. No regrets here, we will def be back here the next time we're in San Diego.

Popular and busy brunch spot in downtown San Diego. The food is good with some vegetarian options. They do a good job managing the crowd. Parking will be difficult to find since its in the downtown. We ordered Avocado Toast and 2 Veggie Breakfast Toastadas. Both of then were 4.5/5.

Morning Glory is a trendy eatery in downtown San Diego that offers a global breakfast and brunch experience with a stylish ambiance. The restaurant's interior features Instagram-worthy elements such as rose-gold accents, tiled floors, pink booths, and unique wallpaper designs. It's a popular spot, especially on Saturday mornings, so be prepared for a wait. The menu boasts an array of pancake options, including classic and Japanese-style souffle pancakes with whipped cream.
Let's start with the bad. Uncoordinated individuals like myself, beware of the barstools. They are tippy. Other than that the service was friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was so fun and the entire esthetic of the place was just perfect. You could show up dressed to the nines or in jeans and a comfy shirt ( I even saw someone in pjs) and feel welcomed at home. The mixture of patterns and textures was eclectic but made looking around so much fun. For food I had the breakfast carbonara and my partner had the souffle pancakes. The carbonara was rich but not too heavy with flavorful pieces of pork belly and just a touch of spice. The pasta was expertly cooked and the entire dish was satisfying. My husband said the pancakes were sweet enough without syrup he added berries and cream on the side which added too the tastiness of the dish. I had the old fashion and the bananas in pajamas. Both drinks were liquor forward with sweet finishes, but the old fashion had a more deep flavor profile while the banana drink was more like a piña colada with creamy notes.
Rebecca — Google review
We visited this restaurant on a Saturday to celebrate my son’s birthday. The venue is visually impressive, with a lively atmosphere and a strong sense of energy that explains its popularity. The wait for a table was just over an hour for a party of four. In terms of the menu, vegan options were limited. I selected the pancakes, which arrived in a generous portion. Unfortunately, the texture was very dense, making them difficult to enjoy, and I was unable to finish the dish. The coffee, however, was very good, and nondairy milk was available. Service was adequate but unremarkable. While staff acknowledged our birthday celebration with a glitter-infused shot, only one was brought to the table, which felt like an incomplete gesture for a group of four. Overall, while the atmosphere was enjoyable and my son appreciated the experience, the quality of the food and the service details suggest there is room for improvement.
Magda G — Google review
Alright this is a bit of a hard one. We visited twice during Twitchcon weekend. Once on Thursday morning, and then once on Tuesday afternoon. Thursdays visit was very pleasant, delicious food, excellent service, and good drinks. Tuesday however, the day I write this, for some reason had a completely different vibe. Despite ordering the same dish, it was drastically different. I enjoyed their Steak and Eggs on my first visit, but upon second review my steak was tough and chewy, with fried onions that were completely soggy with grease. The “dirty” hash-browns gravy was thick and tasted of cream and the bottom of someone’s shoe. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but I was really disappointed with our second visit, especially with such a stellar performance the first time around. Overall? This may be a hit or miss venue, with some stellar items and some that may fail to meet expectations. Unfortunately the bad experience sort of rained on our last day together. Not to mention syrup is a $5 up charge on dishes that really need it.
Ravenview V — Google review
They definitely pass the vibe check! So beautiful inside. Great music. Amazing staff. The food & drinks are so fire. The steak and eggs are my favorite. The fried rice smacks! The soufflé pancakes- DELICIOUS! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Kailee was our server on our first visit. She was a delight. Our experience was so great that we doubled back a second day (before leaving SD). Jacob’s service was wonderful as well. It was a true pleasure meeting Thomas too! Very friendly & made us feel like part of the family. Can’t wait to visit again when I’m in San Diego!
Nesh M — Google review
Great brunch place! They have some very interesting options to choose from and does not restrict itself to one type of cuisine. The khachapuri and the lobster omelet both were pretty good. The best dish we had was the souffle pancakes, it was very gooey, warm in the middle and was very well made. A must try if you are a brunch lover. The restaurant doesn't take reservations and you have to be there to get on the list. Also the wait time can be pretty high and we had to wait 35 minutes to get in.
Rohan T — Google review
I visited this charming restaurant with a lovely pink-themed interior that gives off a soft, welcoming vibe. The ambience is one of the highlights—really pretty and perfect for a casual brunch outing. It’s the kind of place you want to spend time in, soaking up the atmosphere. That said, be prepared for a bit of a wait—our turn took about an hour in the wait-list, which could be a dealbreaker if you’re really hungry or in a rush. The food was an absolute delight. The souffle pancakes were the standout—fluffy, light, and they practically melt in your mouth. Definitely the highlight of the meal! We also tried their orange and vanilla hot chocolate, which was comforting and a lovely twist on the classic. It had a nice balance of sweetness and flavor, perfect for sipping while relaxing. We also opted for Khachapuri, which was a nice, fulfilling addition. The cheesy, doughy goodness really hit the spot and felt hearty without being too heavy. The only downside was the service—the staff seemed quite busy and not very attentive. It wasn’t bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement in that area. Overall, I’d still recommend this place for a leisurely brunch. Great ambience, good food, and a menu that offers a nice mix of comfort and novelty.
Prachi — Google review
This was an interesting experience. The service was fantastic in my opinion. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They did joke around which was fun because I hate getting a robot when trying to order food. I ordered the morning wood old fashioned, and the chilaquiles with Birria on top. The old fashioned was perfect. It had a nice blueberry flavor you could just taste a hint of. I loved it! The chilaquiles were good, not great but good. They had a decent flavor and the chips were cooked extremely nice! However the problem I ran into was the Birria, this might have been the most bland pile of meat I’ve ever had. Even my girlfriend hated it. I had to pull it off and put it on the side of the plate. I don’t know if this was just a bad day for their Birria, but I won’t even give it another chance that’s how bad it was. Overall id come back again, the service was great, drinks were on point, and the food minus one thing was excellent. I’d love to give their other foods a chance.
Michael F — Google review
This establishment is undeniably an “experience” destination, and it’s easy to see why it has earned a place on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list. The art deco–inspired design creates a charming, almost whimsical atmosphere that feels both stylish and inviting. Service, too, had its bright spots—our server Linda was attentive, warm, and truly a highlight of the visit. As for the food, the results were more uneven. The iced coffees arrived only after our dishes had already been served, an oversight that dulled what should have been a seamless start. The soufflé pancakes, however, were exceptional—delicately airy, beautifully presented, and worth the visit alone. A side of sausage, on the other hand, was unfortunately overcooked, sacrificing flavor and texture. The breakfast fried rice leaned heavily on salt, though with the addition of chili paste it transformed into a vibrant, balanced, and memorable dish. It’s a small adjustment the kitchen should consider, as it would elevate the plate significantly. In the end, the restaurant dazzles with atmosphere and has the potential to deliver truly standout dishes. Yet the inconsistencies in execution left me wishing the culinary experience matched the excellence of the setting.

Richard Walker's Pancake House is a casual dining spot known for its generous portions of pancakes, baked omelets, and crepes served in a simple setting. Since 1948, the Walker family has been renowned for providing top-quality family dining experiences. The restaurant offers an array of delectable dishes such as Blueberry And Sour Cre Crepes, Chocolate Explosion, Cherry Kijafa Crepes, San Diego French Toast, and Pigs In A New Car.
I was attending a meeting at the convention center and had breakfast here for three days in a row. The omelets come with pancakes and they were phenomenal. flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent every time. I especially loved sitting at an outdoor table with a heater, which made the atmosphere cozy and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I am staying in downtown and saw this breakfast place super busy on the weekend. So I tried it on a weekday and it was not too busy, I was able to get a booth around 10:30 am. I was not aware Richard Walker's had multiple locations. For food I ordered the Baked Pecan Pancake which has Georgia Pecans and Cinnamon Glaze. This was such a unique pancake, it had nice flavor and sweetness! It was quite large for one person so I also took some of it for home. Food was solid but servers were really attentive and nice!

Paid $50 for breakfast for 2 people that included a burned apple pancake. (Compare my photo to the others on here). Apologies were the only compensation I received. Bacon was good, and we were seated quickly. Stained glass pretty.

Amazing! The food was great! The coffee is crazy good - must put magic in their beans. Service was great - I would go again!

This restaurant always has a line out the door and now I know why best breakfast I have had in years. They offer a baked omelette that was out of this world. I had pigs in a blanket and my son had The Omelette bacon and pancakes that were absolutely excellent. I think it may be the best bacon I have had in any restaurant!

Love this place and the atmosphere was just right. Never been to San Diego and I just feel at home. My family love it so much, they wanted to live in San Diego. Never knew the restaurant was right around the corner from the hotel that we were staying at . My favorite breakfast was the German danish, thank you the food was delicious.

Came here on my Birthday for Breakfast. Impossibly good. There’s a lineup in the morning but it moved quickly. Got a seat inside and the wait staff were immediately of service and really, really great. They have a birthday pancake that is small(ish) and super tasty and comes with a candle. They even poured me a coffee to go!

Hash House A Go Go is a trendy chain that offers innovative American brunch and dinner dishes, along with their famous Bloody Marys. The restaurant takes a farm-to-table approach, serving up generous portions of Midwestern-inspired food. Their signature dish is the towering sage fried chicken and waffles topped with bacon. The restaurant prides itself on providing great value, delicious food, and excellent service while building relationships with customers and the community.
Went there last hour of brunch time! Their portions are ginormous- they’re known for that! We got the chicken something Benedict - great layers and good complementing flavors. The French Banana Latte was really good. Not too sweet but great flavor for sure! The server was great and attentive. We sat in a little squished in corner, I didn’t care for that. But overall good everything 😁 worth a try if you’ve never been 🤷🏻‍♀️

Amazing experience! Food was PHENOMENAL! Be very hungry or share a plate because the portions are huge! Food was very tasty and fruits were fresh. Service was 10/10. We were seated outside on the patio and it was the perfect vibe. Recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait on certain days.

The best brunch spot in California! You gotta bring your appetite as the portions are colossal! You can honestly order a plate and share with someone else. This place was so delicious that we had to return the following day! The lavender/mint and watermelon lemonade were both incredible! Not too sweet and you can taste the fruit a true 5 out of 5! The menu is incredible with ample breakfast and lunch options. There was a specialty menu on a smaller paper. My wife ordered a crab Benedict. A blue crab cake on top of a biscuit with fried egg and some type of sauce. This dish was excellent and the combination worked well together and was a 5 out of 5! The banana foster French toast tasted as good as it looks! I would rate a 4.4 out of 5. The pineapple upside down flapjack was super delicious. Good texture and taste. I would rate a 4.6 out of 5. The sage fried chicken was a 5 out of 5 day one and a 4 out of 5 the following day. Both days the chicken was fried superb. Day one the seasoning was close to perfection! The eggs and breakfast potatoes both were good and the food presentation matched the taste. I would like to return and try the lunch menu as the meatloaf has ample good reviews. The service both days was five star! Everyone is friendly and ready to assist if needed. Would recommend anyone in the San Diego area that loves really good breakfast this is the place to visit!

Loved the huge servings plus they offer a lot of options for something to drink including espresso. Food tasted absolutely delicious. Every bite was divine. But pricey, but hey, it's CA prices. Our server is amazing! She was fast and friendly and easy to chat with even though she was super busy. Had to wait to be seated but the tables are very close to each other so it felt like we were on top of each other.

We came at about 9am for breakfast, and the atmosphere and staff was great! Very charming, friendly and quick! The drinks here were amazing! The visuals for the food are great! The esthetic seems to be the bigger the better! However, the taste of the food needs improvement. The waffles aren't sweet, the syrup isn't sweet to make up for it, the biscuits are VERY dry, the potatoes are undercooked and unseasoned, the chicken is unseasoned, the food came out cold, and more. It just just didn't live up to the hype for us.

It was my first time there. I went in the morning and was able to get in without a reservation, but the table and chairs were too high, so there were a lot of customers waiting nearby right in front of the entrance, and the servers had to pass by a lot, so I couldn't enjoy a leisurely breakfast. I asked for a lower, more spacious table, but they refused. That was the only drawback. The latte was way too sweet too much sugar, too much whipped cream. The egg Benedict was ok egg was over cooked. Too much portion and the taste wasn’t that great.

Had a reservation for 3. The hostess was very pleasant but I cannot say the same for the server. Service was extremely slow. Two parties that were seated after us were able to order before us and served before us. My spouse ordered avocado they brought out guacamole. Also requested fruit and served was unaware of what fresh fruit of the day was. As you can see from the photo two pieces of honey dew. Food was pretty good but nothing outstanding.

A must-try for breakfast in San Diego! The food is delicious, portions are huge, and the service is always great. My go-to is the Sage Fried Chicken & Waffles – the fried chicken is perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the waffles are amazing with sweet and salty bacon bits. The sage adds a unique, delicious flavor.

Renowned for its delectable Californian daytime cuisine, this friendly neighborhood spot offers a warm ambiance and excellent service. Whether you choose to dine on the patio or inside the quaint Victorian-style interior, you can savor farm-fresh eggs, oatmeal pancakes, Belgian waffles, and other breakfast delights.
Really great spot for brunch. We had a seat inside and as soon as you walk inside you are instantly smacked with a sugar high from all the beautiful sweets and baked goodies. Staff is have attentive to everyone including each other. Even if you don’t have brunch here would recommend stopping in to get some tasty and fun desserts or baked goods.

The BEST French toast I’ve ever had!!! Soft moist and didn’t need a lot of syrup. Emphasis on the soft the bread was so darn fluffy and good!

We recently hosted our daughter’s wedding reception at The Cottage and it was nothing short of spectacular. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves (40 guests) for under $5000 -that is hard to find in La Jolla. They created a wonderful food & drink menu for our guests that included appetizers, entrees, beer, wine and 2 specialty cocktails. The food was phenomenal—fresh, beautifully presented, and raved about by all our guests. The atmosphere was warm and elegant and the service throughout the evening was flawless. The tables were decorated beautifully, the layout was perfect -we even had a space to dance! From the moment we started planning, the staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making the day special. We are so grateful for Una, Jason and entire staff for helping us create such a magical and memorable evening. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Nice little brunch spot. We dropped in Friday morning and it wasn’t busy at first but the place filled up quickly. Service was great and the food was very good but could use a little more seasoning. I had the house Benny which looked great and tasted fine but was just a little bland but still very good.

Lovely. Attentive servers. Food was great. Everything was cooked to perfection. Fun spot in LaJoja for brunch while on vacation in San Diego. Short wait. Street parking. Quaint. Clean.

Such a cute restaurant. Our server was absolutely amazing! Had a great system going with someone running waters and food! Best French toast I’ve ever had! Will definitely be back when I’m in the area again.

This place was highly recommended to me, and it didn’t disappoint. The cinnamon swirl pancakes, which were a must-try, were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a sweet treat. I also tried the Morning Glory sandwich, which was recommended by the staff and was quite high on the menu. The service was great, and the hot sauce they gave us was incredibly spicy and flavorful. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

5 stars! An absolute gem for breakfast lovers who appreciate a Mexican twist! The food was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cappuccino was just perfect: rich, smooth, and served with care. The service was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive – you instantly feel at home. The vibe is relaxed and charming, making it the perfect spot to start your day. If you’re looking for a breakfast experience with a unique touch, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Stumbled by this place in my visit to North Park, and upon entering the diner, I was greeted by the warm, inviting atmosphere that only a classic diner can provide. The friendly staff made me feel right at home, and I sat at the counter, eager to indulge in some comfort food. When my pancakes arrived, I was immediately struck by their size... huge! The were fluffy, golden-brown perfection. Stacked high and they looked absolutely irresistible. The first bite was pure bliss—soft, airy, and bursting with that homemade flavor that you just can't find in a chain restaurant. Each pancake was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of crispiness on the edges. I opted for a the granola and banana toppings, but the diner also offered an array of toppings, from fresh berries to whipped cream. Overall, my pancake experience at the diner was nothing short of delightful. Whether you’re a pancake enthusiast or just looking for a comforting breakfast, I highly recommend stopping by this place.

I loved this place. We stopped by on our way to the border CBX and it was a great experience. Food is delicious, marvelous presentation, and service is so nice, friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was the best... thank you guys.

I don’t know if they can’t smell it or it’s just my sensitivity. The inside smelled like old people diapers or sewage. We ended up sitting outside. Other than that, the service was amazing and so was the food. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. The steak breakfast was okay, was mostly a scramble more than actual steak and potatoes.

This place has amazing reviews! I may have got overhyped and then was let down :/ the vibe is perfect. Totally beachy, unassuming, laid back, clean, vibey. The staff - totally cool, relaxed, charming. The food - womp womp :( beautiful presentation, but lack of flavor and too hipster for our liking. I had seen rave reviews for the chilaquiles l, which are my fav and was the number 1 reason why we came. However, they were extremely untraditional chilaquiles with completely different flavor profiles… and this one was bland. It was spicy but had no real flavor. My husband wanted eggs and chorizo, and all they had was soy chorizo. Again, pretty hipster for us. My husband ate it, but wasn’t amazed. My son loved his strawberry banana pancakes, though, and we all ended up eating them haha (portion was huge!!!) My son ordered a chocolate milk and they brought it out looking like a cute little latte which was a fun touch. Overall the experience was good, we just wish the food had lived up to the hype!

Looking for a place to eat for brunch?? Look no further. This is a Great brunch spot in North Park to have a quick bite to eat. There’s an open patio for your dog to come join you. I love that there’s breakfast and not breakfast options. My favorite is the loco moco and coffee options. Parking is a bit hard to find but doesn’t mean it isnt a good neighborhood to walk off those calories.
Michelle M — Google review
The food was good, the potatoes were amazing, I really did not like the sausage, it was so so so sweet we were shocked. It actually did not taste like meat at all. That kind of taste tasted like candy. I can’t explain it. I did not like it. The eggs were some of the best eggs I’ve eaten. I love their bread too. I would come again and try other things on the menu too.
Nicole E — Google review
From the very first impression, everything felt welcoming and well thought out. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between lively and comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the moment. The decor was tasteful, with little details that added character without being overwhelming. The service stood out as one of the strongest aspects. The staff were attentive, polite, and always ready to help, yet never overbearing. Every request was handled with a smile, and it really added to the overall experience. The food itself was outstanding. Each plate arrived beautifully presented, with aromas that set the stage for the flavors to come. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the dishes were seasoned and cooked with a level of care you don't always find. Every bite carried a nice balance of texture and flavor, showing that the kitchen knows what they're doing. Drinks were also a highlight, with a wide variety to choose from and options that paired seamlessly with the meal. By the time dessert arrived, it felt like the perfect ending dash indulgent, Satisfying, and thoughtfully prepared., it was the kind of dining experience that leaves you already planning a return visit. Greek food, genuine service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger just a little longer.

Flap Your Jacks is a new addition to North Park's dining scene, offering an interactive and fun pancake experience. At this casual eatery, diners can cook their own pancakes on griddles at their tables, choosing from a variety of batters, mix-ins, toppings, and syrups. The restaurant also features a diverse menu of breakfast favorites for those who prefer not to DIY their pancakes.
My first visit here was just last week in 2025, even though this place has been on my list since it opened. The resturant idea is unique and the vibe is fresh, and now I completely understand the hype. It’s definitely a must-visit, whether for a fun date or a family outing with kids. Trust me, your kids will thank me! They’ll love creating their own pancake designs, which keeps them entertained while you enjoy some uninterrupted conversation. Time flies here—I even found myself having fun making pancake shapes! Don’t overlook the other breakfast items, though. They deserve more recognition. I took some leftovers home, and they were still delicious the next day—a rare feat for breakfast food! The manager and staff were incredibly friendly. Despite arriving 30 minutes late for our reservation, they seated us within minutes. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but this place is a gem! Parking might be challenging as the place is in the cemetery of North Park. Be prepared to park few blocks around.

The grill your own pancake batter is kinda thin. It’s more for fun than for a satisfying breakfast. The prepared food is pretty solid though. This place is probably more like a 3.5 but I’m feeling generous and I think we will definitely come back. It does get crowded on weekends but that’s to be expected.

We went here as a group of 12 on a lunch time. It was a bit busy so we needed to split on 2 tables with 6 persons each. It was a fun experience for the kids to design their own pancake. You need to have at least two colors to really be able to design something cool, we had white, brown and red. Make sure to not make a big design or the pancake might not cook properly or become very hard to flip.
Kristina B — Google review
Cute atmosphere… kids will enjoy making their own pancakes. I ordered the chicken & waffle. Chicken is seasoned well & was nice and hot. However the waffle was cold.. Felt like it was premade & sitting waiting to be served. I didn’t eat it. They were nice enough to remove it from the bill. Asked the waitress for straws & never received them. Ended up asking a different waitress & she gave them to us. I’m visiting from out of town so I highly doubt I’d ever return

Came in pretty early on Friday and many people were seated already - good sign! The buttermilk pancake batter by itself was delicious and sweet. We also had eggs Benedict and that was sooo delicious and filling. The best part is the childhood fun to cook your own pancakes!

I took my two tween/teen girls out for pancakes at the unique restaurant. They had a lot of fun making their pancakes and creative silly in their designs. The food was ok, the best part was the interactive nature of the food experience.

This place never disappoints! I have now visited over 5 times with various people and various times and always get great service and food. The menu is perfect for pancake and brunch items plus an array of beverages and breakfast cocktails. Its a great place for kids or a different spot to meet up with friends who cant decide what to eat!

I’ve been here a few times. The place is cute with spatula decorations. The concept is great. My kids like going there to make their own pancakes. I’m not a fan as I care more about the taste. I think they are ok. I had corn beef harsh and it was good. I like that they used sliced corned beef instead of canned. The chilaquiles were tasty. The service was ok, not really welcoming. Usually there’s a long wait so be prepared.

The breakfast sushi is especially popular and often stands out from the rest on the menu.
Just had the best salmon Benedict at Fig Tree Cafe! It was seriously delicious! The service was a bit hit or miss, but the food is so good I'd still go back in a heartbeat. If you're planning to go, def call ahead to reserve a table, it gets pretty crowded. Overall, worth a visit!

Very nice place for a brunch !! Hearty selections. Food was delish. We had a couple of vegetarians in our group but they were able to make selections. The service was excellent- very friendly staff. We went during a long weekend and had to wait 30 mins to get a table assigned for our group of 5. Will be there again soon.

Food was really good, I got the apple fritter pancakes with bacon and eggs, pancakes were great but could have used another sauce or more syrup, a tiny container was included. Service was friendly but the place was insanely busy and I didn't get even one refill on my coffee, only saw the server again to pay the bill. Waited about 35 minutes for a party of 2 at about 11 on a Saturday.

Pretty awesome brunch. Their breakfast burrito was delicious! We arrived at a very popular time which came with an hour wait, but the hostess recommended ordering and sitting at the outside tables. Following her recommendation we ended up waiting 15 minutes for our food and she even took the time to shine with superior customer service by offering drinks and a little table service to us. Their prices are good especially considering how delicious everything tasted. Overall if you’re looking for a tasty breakfast this place does not disappoint.

A very fun (and delicious) brunch. My wife had the gluten free french toast which she loved, my one son had french toast and another had a kid’s pancake that came out as Mickey Mouse which was a very fun touch. We asked for an extra side of Bacon they call “Man Candy” which has a lot of potential but was ultimately soggy and missed the mark. Making candied spiced bacon (their attempt at it) isnt hard, they just need to work on it a little more. I had the steak and eggs which was solid. The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. It got extremely busy on a Sunday after 10, so try to get in a little earlier!

Loved the dining room setup with ample booths. Service was great, coffee right away when seated. And no wait at 8am. We had to try the Cinna-cake and it was available as a side item. The cream cheese topping was perfect ( not too sweet) with cinnamon topped pancake the size of a dinner plate. Yummy! Main dish was a Cali Breakfast Burrito which included avocado, egg, bacon and cheese. Salsa and rice+beans were a flavorful accompaniment.

Hard to say anything bad about this place. There’s typically a line, so you need to plan accordingly but the food and service is always exceptional. Outdoor seating is comfortable and amusing, to say the least. I’ve eaten here a dozen times or so and it’s always consistent, and efficient.

We got the salmon avocado toast, lemon and ricotta pancakes , and steak and eggs, as well as a cappuccino and a latte. the steak is very chewy, although the eggs and hash browns were okay. The pancakes were not flavorful or fluffy at all and seemed to be cooked poorly. The salmon avocado toast was supposed to be on a sourdough but didn’t taste at all like sourdough. The salmon did not taste fresh and the avocado tasted more like cheap store bought avocado spread. My latte was also watered down. The ambience was nice and the waiter was efficient, but the food was definitely lacking- especially for the price point

I've been looking forward to coming to this place for a while because I liked that they have small plates for you to dive into different flavors without being overly full. When we were greeted by our waitress, she recommended that we have 2 small plates per a person. All of us were satisfied without feeling gluttonous or too stuffed, so 2 plates are perfect! All our dishes are pictured. One of the best things I had outside of the food was the Ginny tea. Absolutely delicious and came out smoking (due to dry ice). Very fun and delicious. I didn't realize how large it would be, it's enough for 2-3 people. Also, there are options for Vegan, Vegetarian folks. The aesthetic of the restaurant was stunning! They have a wall full of wines I wish I could have gotten a closer look at! Everyone from the host to server to those bussing was very kind.

Voted Best Brunch restaurant in San Diego and I see why. I ordered the Vegan French Toast with a side of Lamb Meat Balls and fresh squeezed orange juice. The Vegan French toast was very yummy the presentation is not the norm and I like that. The texture of the toast was a-little tough but I still enjoyed every bit. The star of the show was the Lamb meatballs absolutely amaZing! I decided to sit outside to people watch and to take in the weather but inside seating is really cool with the unique decor. I forgot to mention this restaurant has a small boutique attached with little treasures you can’t help to buy. This place is a Must Try!😊

Great space in the 5th Avenue, to have a European style breakfast. They have indoor and outdoor space, and the indoor is cozy and beautiful. The service was very good and the servers are all very nice and friendly. The restrooms are small and you may wait a long time to use it. The food is great and the prices are reasonable.

Amazing food, but service needs improvement. They sat us at the bar. I had to get up and get menus because no one brought them to us, and there was no one to flag down. The bartender then took our order and our food came. They didn’t bring us utensils. I had to again get up again and go find my own utensils and napkins. Our server didn’t check up on us to ask how things were or if we needed anything until after we were done eating. At the end of all that when it comes to paying, they still suggest an 18% minimum tip. I would still come back here because the food was excellent, but they really need to improve their service.

Great Maple - Hillcrest is a contemporary restaurant located in the charming neighborhood of University Heights in San Diego. It offers a unique twist on modern American comfort food, using seasonal ingredients to create elevated dishes. The restaurant has received several awards and accolades for its delicious cuisine. Great Maple prides itself on offering a European dinette experience, combining brasserie and classic diner elements. The establishment is committed to quality, responsible products, and excellent service.
Great Maple was such an awesome spot. The vibe is lively but comfortable, and the food really stood out. Everything we ordered came out looking amazing and tasted even better. The portions are generous and the flavors were on point. From the hearty breakfast plates to the insanely good French toast stacked high with blueberries and bacon, everything was cooked perfectly. Even the cocktails were spot on—fresh, balanced, and a great complement to the food. It’s one of those places where every dish feels like it’s made with care, and you leave full and happy. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the area and want a fun spot with great food and great energy.

We were sat outside because I had my puppy and honestly that was the smartest decision of the morning. Inside was so loud and packed it felt like a festival without the music. Our server was cold, I understand it was busy, but a little warmth goes a long way. The hostess and a couple of servers decided the doorway behind my husband’s chair was the perfect spot for a full conversation. They talked for a straight five minutes. That may not sound long but when you are trying to enjoy brunch with your family it feels like forever. I could barely hear my kid across the table because their chat turned into the main event. The line outside was wild if you did not have a reservation but I did. Parking was even worse. We got extremely lucky and found a spot right in front, which I will probably never pull off again. If you do a reservation you will be seated quickly, but brace yourself for the noise. The food was not bad, but it was not amazing either. Definitely not worth the price or the hype. In the end I left more drained than satisfied. Grand Maple was a one time experience for me
Jazmin S — Google review
We visited Great Maple for Sunday brunch without realizing it’s been a Michelin-recommended spot for several years, so expectations were high. The wait was about 30 minutes, which wasn’t bad considering the brunch rush, but parking was a real challenge — especially with the Hillcrest Farmers Market taking up most of the nearby spots. Inside, the restaurant is lively and full of energy, but also very loud and tightly packed. Walking space between tables is almost nonexistent, so if you value elbow room, I’d recommend sitting at the bar or ordering to-go. We ordered the chilaquiles, brisket hash, pork belly, and French toast logs. Every dish was flavorful and well-executed — meats were tender, portions generous, and nothing felt overly greasy or heavy. The brisket hash stood out for its depth of flavor, and the French toast logs were surprisingly balanced, not too sweet. Portions are large enough to share, and we definitely couldn’t finish everything. Food: 4.5/5 – Excellent flavor and texture. Ambiance: 2/5 – Too loud and cramped for comfort. Service: 3.5/5 – Friendly but stretched thin due to crowd size. Overall, I’d give Great Maple a solid 4/5. The food lives up to the Michelin mention, but next time I’ll plan ahead, share a plate, and probably skip the coffee — it was too dark and bitter for my taste.

Had a fantastic spontaneous visit to Great Maple! I enjoyed the Little Gem’s Salad—fresh and flavorful, just what I needed. Brendan went for the prime rib, and while it was great, not quite the best he’s ever had, it definitely hit the spot. We also shared the Burratta appetizer with fig, which was absolutely amazing—a definite must-try! Parking was easy, and we were lucky to have Marcos and his trainee Brendan providing top-notch, friendly service that really made our visit special. If you’re in the mood for elevated comfort food and great vibes, Great Maple is a spot you shouldn’t miss!

The vibe inside is really cute. They put a lot of thought into the design. The latte was delicious. Everyone (except who I can only assume was the manager) was so friendly. The food was mediocre. I was disappointed. The presentation is great, but there is zero flavor. Eveything was bland and expensive. I wouldn’t come here again.

I wanted to really like Great Maple because they are on the Michelin guide but some of the food was just not edible. The poached eggs were way over done and had a plastic taste, the smoked BBQ pork tasted old. The French toast was pretty tasty, maybe it depends on what you get. The proportions are wildly different, some people left the table still hungry while others had way too much food

Great food. Michelin rated. Loved all the different options! Busy but worth it. Small parking lot, but it's fine. You'll enjoy the food!

The hype is real. Clean elevated dinette. The Michelin star got me through the door. Made an early rezzy and skipped the line. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Interior was a total vibe. Food looked amazing, and was... fine. Wanted something special (given the ticket price) but brisket hash, a milk, and a piece of pie put me out $60 after tip with no cocktail. Can say I did it. Would maybe come back for the pie?

Madi is a new and popular brunch spot that opened in 2022 in Normal Heights. It's owned by the same people behind the well-known Madison on Park restaurant. The ambiance is modern and nice, with limited bar seating for four people. Reservations are recommended to avoid waiting, as it can get busy around 10 am. The food portions are good, similar to Madison Restaurant but with a focus on brunch dishes and drinks.
Have special dietary needs or wishes? Try their Build Your Own Bowl. It’s a godsend! Available all day, you can design a breakfast or lunch that’s vegan, egg-free, grain-free, and/or gluten-free! I included a photo of my husband’s “bowl”. He loved it! For gluten-free folks, our server was extremely knowledgeable and even double checked about something she wasn’t 100% sure about. We were so grateful! My latte was delicious, with a very velvety foam. Yum! Madi is a stylish cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Sat outdoor on what felt like a patio. Servers were polite and food came out quickly enough. Nestled in a neighborhood so parking is challenging. Food was good, excellent presentation. Staff need to be more diverse but overall experience was great! It was a lunch date so good vibe. Price was average. Recommend!

Lots of good reviews was exited to try but definitely did not live up to the hype the service was alright The waitress did not know what was in the matcha Which isn't a huge deal but if you're a waitress at the restaurant you should know everything on the menu We had a reservation and we were seated right away that was nice Now the food I'm not gonna say horrible but I want to say horrible I got the Chicken Fried steak eggs over easy and potatoes with sourdough bread the bread was the best part of my meal it was actually really good bread My chicken fry steak just not the best My over easy eggs came out over hard The potatoes were decent Also got something called Greek fries I believe that was not the best Just overall not a good experience Trying to figure out what the hype is about I was seated by the window eating my Mediocre meal watching the people Having to wait 40 minutes for a table about to come in and I felt sorry for them

Madi in San Diego nails the brunch game, bright, beachy vibes and food that tastes like sunshine on a plate. Generous dishes showcasing the delicious meals Madi has to offer. Excellent place for Sunday morning after a long and excruciating Saturday night get together 🥳 The cocktails are dangerously smooth, and the vibe is effortlessly cool. Huge shoutout to Johnny, our server extraordinaire, who made everything seamless with charm, humor, and perfect timing. He turned a great meal into an unforgettable experience. His recommendations were spot on and the lavender lemon appreciated, thank you! Cheers, Johnny!

Nice atmosphere, but wrong food choice MADI is always packed, which actually says a lot about the place. Luckily, they have plenty of staff and everyone seems busy but organized. I came alone for breakfast and got a seat at the bar almost immediately — that was a nice surprise. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs, but honestly, I didn’t enjoy it. The dish was maybe 10% meat and 90% potato — plus more fried potatoes and two eggs. Not what I was hoping for. Probably just the wrong choice on my part, because everything else coming out of the kitchen looked good. Overall, great service and pleasant atmosphere, but next time I’ll definitely try something else.

Casual brunch spot! They generally have moderate wait times, we waited for about 30mins before we got our table. The food took too long to come. They have some good drinks and pancakes. Their churro waffles and lemon blueberry pancake is must! Their sandwiches looked nice. We order chicken chipotle melt but was a dissappintment. The chicken was undercooked and overall sandwich was very dry and tasteless. The side of fries was stale, could taste stale oil on them.

Went here on a Monday right at opening (we made reservations) You can tell this place gets packed. We sat inside but they do have a small patio (it's a dog friendly restaurant) The food was really good. Highly recommend churro waffles to share. I ordered the GOAT sandwich and it was really good. Daughter ordered the brioche French toast. Portions are generous too. Marked down a bit for service because my coffee came very late(had to remind them twice).

I visited Madi North Park to celebrate my bestie’s birthday, and it was such a great experience! We both tried the Peach Basil cocktail—it was so refreshing and delicious. I also had the Shakshuka Verde, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had. The service was excellent too, especially knowing how busy they were. Highly recommend!

Claire's on Cedros, nestled in Solana Beach, is a charming and rustic eatery renowned for its New American cuisine. The cozy spot offers a delectable breakfast and lunch menu featuring bistro classics made with locally-sourced ingredients. Guests can indulge in an array of breakfast favorites such as pancakes, eggs, omelets, and French toast while savoring delightful baked goods from the in-house bakery.
Flavor: A Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: A This was undoubtedly the best meal we had in Solana Beach. The French toast and hash browns were top notch and the service was just as good! It was a great morning patio experience that left me wishing we hadn’t tried this place on our last day.

We were pleasantly surprised to be immediately seated on Father’s Day. They sat us in the back garden patio next to a beautiful tree. Our waitress was attentive, even with a full restaurant. Loved my sidecar of OJ that I could add to my mimosa to make it my way. Pete loved his chilaquiles and appreciated the reasonable portion size. I ordered the secret menu item, a breakfast burrito. It was the most reasonable priced breakfast item on the menu! Perfect portion size vs a breakfast burrito that feeds 3 people. I enjoyed a stroll around the restaurant to admire the colorful flowers. Great food, thoughtful and attentive service and a romantic beautiful atmosphere.

It’s not often that I find a breakfast restaurant that has too many great menu choices. I couldn’t decide and it’s was a big dilemma to narrow it down. I’m guessing I’ll just have to return on my next visit into town. Seriously, this place was great and we really enjoyed not only the food but the ambience in the back patio. Extra points for being puppy friendly including their own tasty menu. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Since being turned on to Claire's back in March, my wife and I have dined twice more - once for breakfast and, more recently, lunch - during our visits from Tucson, AZ. Each time, food quality and service were OUTSTANDING...somehow better than the last. Server Patty was friendly and appropriately attentive. And there was no judgement about us sharing the Sweet & Savory Burger. Instead, Patty provided recs for other places to eat and drink in and around Solana Beach. Those may complement, but never replace Claire's as our go-to!
Ed S — Google review
First of all, such a cool space with outdoor covered dining, suitable for the several pets we saw at their owners' feet. One from our party had been here a while back with her sisters and she had been craving it so much that she convinced us to take a road trip down from Orange County just for this brunch. And I can tell you, it was so worth it. The two ladies split the Risotto Benedict and added a pancake. They were very kind to split the plate in the kitchen for us. My buddy got a Cali Omelet and I got the server's recommendation, the Blackberry French Toast. Wow, that was good. I don't know what the french toast was stuffed with, maybe a cream cheese, but whatever the combination, it was so tasty. Now I am craving it, and I want to take another road trip just for brunch at Claire's.

Beautiful place, and multiple patios surrounding the building. I had a yogurt bowl with fruit, everything was fresh and delicious. The French toast was outstanding as were the waffles I tried. Omelets are also a great choice. The service was friendly and quick. Also had the chai tea and it was done with cinnamon. Restroom was very clean

We hadn’t been to Claire’s in years until a nice lunch with friends on Sept 16th. Our server Patti was sweet, attentive & efficient, she has a lovely personality. We asked about menu choices & she provided good input. My husband’s Egg Benedict was good, very tasty Hollandaise with just the right amount of lemon juice in it, he should have asked for extra! My Turkey & Goat Cheese Melt on Sour Dough was good too, tho skimpy on the Turkey & the Cheese. The little butter cookies at the end were such a delicious treat! Loved Patti & will ask for her next time!

Claire’s on Cedros is a brunchy gem with both cozy indoor vibes and sunny patio seating—and yes, free parking (a small miracle in SoCal). The food is solid, but the cocktails? Next-level. Think: brunch with a buzz, in the best way. Service was friendly and efficient, and while it gets busy during peak hours, it’s worth the wait. A great spot to sip, snack, and soak in that laid-back Solana Beach charm.

Parkhouse Eatery is a cozy little restaurant in University Heights serving modern American comfort cuisine like hearty scrambles, lemon ricotta pancakes, and a slew of sandwiches with a patio.
This place was so good that when I was visiting, I went two mornings in a row!! The stuffed French toast was to DIE for, the pancakes melt in your mouth, & the Asian rice brunch dish was sooo good. There is literally nothing bad on this menu. The mimosas were some of the best I’ve ever had too! Not too sweet & fresh orange juice taste. I would highly recommend!

⸻ The staff were very friendly, the service was fast, and the food was delicious! I ordered lunch and my husband had brunch, just take a look at the photo, it says it all. This will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I’m back in San Diego. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and it fills up quickly. I sat outside and absolutely loved it! I already miss it!

Charming restaurant serving breakfast and sandwiches for almost 3 years. The service is superb, the food delicious, and the restaurant itself is cute. The lamb burger was thick, very juicy, and delicious. The fries that came with it were excellent, where the outside was crispy and inside tender. The three egg scrambles were all very good.

Such a cute brunch spot! The food was delicious, the space was clean and welcoming, and the staff was so friendly. They even surprised us with a free churro pancake (which is delicious by the way -way too good!) for our late friend’s birthday that we were celebrating. All of the special touches made the experience extra special. Highly recommend for a tasty and fun brunch!

In 2023, I decided to try this place for brunch. 2 years later, it’s hands down one of my favorite places to enjoy brunch with friends. This year alone I have already celebrated 2 special occasions here(yes, they do have a birthday club). I’m addicted to their mimosas and Eggs Benedicts. Pair the excellent food with the cozy environment and you’ve got the perfect brunch spot.

So delicious! We had the stir-fried rice bowl, One bluecorn meal flapjack meal, and my kiddo has the one pancake meal. We also ordered PH Sunrise and Cran Pomegranate mimosas and both were worth the $1 upgrade for the prosecco instead of champagne. A restaurant I would recommend and will be coming back to the next I’m in San Diego.

Food was incredible!!! Especially the Chilequilles (green) with carnitas, Churro pancake, and mimosa flight! Service was a little 'less attentive' than we like. Not bad, just slow to check back in to see if we need more coffee or when we were ready to pay.

Nestled in the Sunset Cliffs neighborhood, Little Lion Cafe is a charming and cozy spot that's popular for its Belgian favorites and breakfast offerings. Despite its small size, the cafe's congenial staff and fresh California ingredients create an inviting atmosphere. While lines for brunch can be long, the delicious dishes like Sausage Bowl and heavenly Belgian Waffles make it worth the wait.
We tried the sausage bowl, lox croissant, and ricotta toast, and each one was a hit. The sausage bowl was hearty and flavorful, with perfectly balanced ingredients that left us wanting more. The lox croissant was beautifully flaky and packed with fresh, quality salmon, just the right amount of indulgence. The ricotta toast was light yet satisfying, with creamy ricotta that paired beautifully with its toppings. Highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking delicious and thoughtfully crafted breakfast options.

Stopped at Little Lion Café in Sunset Cliffs for a celebration lunch and it did not disappoint. The avocado toast was absolute chef’s kiss perfection, and they even brought out bacon for my pup—major bonus points! I'm so grateful that this quaint neighborhood gem is now open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Everything on the menu is delicious and there are good options for gluten intolerance. My children loved the shrimp and roasted vegetables. The sea bass was delicious and my husband loved the Caesar salad and meatballs. Excellent wine options and do not skip dessert - my family loved the home made ice cream sandwiches.

I’ve heard such great things and always drive by Little Lion Cafe so finally got the chance to try it out! It’s such a cute cafe right around the corner from Sunset Cliffs. I highly recommend making reservations, it is very small with not a lot of seating so you could be waiting a bit if you try and walk in Service was great, I thought the food was okay overall. A little on the pricier side in my opinion for what you get We got the California Croissant sandwich with a side of the duck/bacon sausage, turkey and bacon sandwich, coffee cake and two coffees Overall it was a cute place to check out. I’d come back again to try out some of the other food options Highly recommend going for a walk along the cliffs after your meal it’s so beautiful out there

Food & Drinks: The lattes were outstanding. My boyfriend had the matcha latte with rose-cardamom syrup, which turned out to be one of the best flavor combinations we've ever tried. The golden milk turmeric latte was equally delicious. For food, we tried the jalapeño duck & bacon sausage, crab cakes Benedict, ricotta toast, and shakshuka. Unfortunately, the gravy was unavailable, so we couldn't try the sausage bowl, but that's just another reason to return. The standout dish was definitely the jalapeño duck & bacon sausage -- flavorful and a real winner. The crab cakes were also impressive; you could really taste the freshness of the crab meat. The ricotta toast was a unique breakfast item, but it was surprisingly delicious. The shakshuka, while good, wasn't quite as memorable as the other dishes. Service: Excellent and attentive service. The food did take a little while to arrive, but it's understandable given the small kitchen, and the wait was definitely worth it. Ambiance: A charming, cozy spot right next to Sunset Cliffs. Parking is limited unless you're willing to pay, but the location is worth it. Dogs are welcome outside, which is a nice touch.

Farmer's Table La Mesa is a beloved spot in the neighborhood, offering creative New American cuisine in a vibrant setting with a generous outdoor patio. The menu features indulgent options like Reese's and ice cream pancakes, which can also be made vegan or gluten-free, using local organic eggs and wholesome ingredients. This family-owned establishment serves three meals daily, boasting a popular brunch selection and Bloody Mary cocktails. Their commitment to quality service and organic ingredients has garnered attention from various media outlets.
Review of Farmers Table in La Mesa The vibe here is older farm, and the music track was from the 90s and 80s. Nice background, so you're not shouting over it. If you're looking for brunch, do yourself a favor and hit this place up. I had the Sweet Thoughts, which is a pancake, waffle, and French toast charcuterie board. The Pancakes were ok. They are oreo on the inside and cooked to a golden perfection, fluffy and cooked on the inside. Those waffles come with a cookies and hand whipped cream. It is Hella good. The batter has the best sweet vanilla flavor to them. The best thing on the board is the French Toast. I believe in the saying "Keep it simple and make it perfect." These are the essence of a perfect French toast. Enough wash to make it semi-crusty and a touch of vanilla cinnamon. It was how a French toast should be made. Whoever this chef was.. wow! The pulled pork eggs bennidict. The pork is Delicious... Savory, with a background of smokiness. The sauce has a sharp Chipotle sauce that compliments the Pork and isn't over powering. The egg was poached exactly correct. When popped it flowed like a creamy lava of richness. This is a definite put on the try it list. Alejandra was our server. She's fun, on top of everything. She even listened as she walked past the table next to us as the gentleman said he wished he had a new fork and napkin. She was back with a fork and napkin in less than a minute. He even mentioned he was impressed she heard him without his needing to be asked. We never wanted for anything, and the staff was so attentive.

Omar was an amazing server! He was super attentive, friendly, and made us feel really welcome the entire time. The food was beyond incredible — honestly a 10/10 (if I could give it higher, I would!). Everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, thanks to both the food and the outstanding service.🌟🌟🌟

It is being advertised as a rustic farm house, but really it felt more like a modern restaurant with nice farm tables. Staff was great and very attentive. Food was mediocre. I had veggie Panini. While the panini was toasted to perfection, my sandwich was just warm. It was a bland sandwich. I didn't taste any sauce, and neither any of the vegetables in there stood out when I took a huge bite. Dad ordered American breakfast- just typical toast, eggs, and sausage. Nothing special. For the price I paid, plus 3% credit card extra charge, I was expecting better quality food.

Really fantastic service from all of the staff! Super attentive. The Ciopinno was so delicious. They strained the broth beautifully. The seafood was really nice. Loved the zucchini blossom appetizer. Pesto chicken pizza. Beautiful glass of Sangiovese. A really wonderful ambiance and meal.

We had a great experience here for Sunday brunch. There is a parking lot across the street, which may gets busy during peak hours. The Classic Benedict and Red Chilaquiles were great. We also had a Mexican mocha, the manmosa, and mango mamosa for drinks. I definitely recommend the Mexican Mocha. The service was great and our food was served with very little wait.

We ordered the farmers pizza. But as you can see from the photo, they forgot the farm. The dough was soft and doughy. This used to be a terrific go to pizza. I’m sorry to see it has declined so much.

I've been taking my family here for years now since they've open. Great spot but we are normally here for breakfast. This is one of the very few for dinner. The Pork Shank is legit. Great flavor and fall off the bone. I typically don't like chunks in my mashed potatoes, but they were OK. Spinach was spot on. Service was great. Everyone is a bit on top of each other in there, but... Hey... It'll be a La Mesa staple for years.

This place saved us when we got turned down from another diner for some late breakfast / brunch food. We did not have reservations and they were willing to seat us and quickly! To start off with drinks we ordered the World Famous Irish Coffee and the Espresso Martini. The Irish Coffee is a little on the sweeter side so would recommend the martini if you’re not into that. My bf also ordered the Werewolf Double Bloody and was served in this skull mug, very cool! For brunch we ordered the Pork Belly Benedict , which was both sweet and salty. The potato cake underneath really complemented it well! Th Steak Scramble was well seasoned and serviced with a side of flour tortilla. You can make your own mini breakfast tacos! To be extra we had to order the Cinnamon Roll Cake and it is huge! Perfect for sharing. The vibe was relaxed and laid back. Plenty of seating available, from the bar to the booths and long communal tables. This place is dog friendly as there were some when we dined in. The service was great as well. The waitress Fiona was helpful with suggestions and bothered to remember my name. Thank you!

Man this bar is super cool! The vibe and the staff are both awesome! It was definitely very popular and even louder! They played music at lunch time and had a DJ during breakfast. Good food and a fun atmosphere that allowed us to bring our two small dogs. They have a live DJ. It was kind of loud for the dogs but I appreciated how accommodating they were in letting us choose where to sit and everyone was very friendly with us and the pups. Went here for the first time prior to a Padres game. It was between parking and the stadium with good reviews, so we figured we’d try it. We thankfully missed the rush and were able to get startled relatively early. The multiple TVs made my need to follow my football pool easy and the staff were truly top notch. Add to that delicious food (we got the Cali Burritio and cinnamon roll pancakes and were so pleased! The music was bumping, which added to the fun. We’ll be back!

Very loud. We had to wait about an hour to get seated which was fine. Once we were seated it seemed like no one knew we were there- it took about 30 mins for someone to come over and take our drink order and then it took them 20 mins to drop off the drinks, and no one offered to take our food order- finally a different guy came over and took our food order.

Service and atmosphere were 👌. Food was good too, but not spectacular. We sat with our dog in the back booth, and Fiona, the bartender, served us. She was so friendly, talked to us using our first names, and printed out the draft list for our table. The papas balls are good, but again, not incredible. We had the wonton sliders, which were unique, though the burger patty itself wasn’t seasoned with anything. We had a delicious espresso martini and a good, strong mai tai. Another bartender brought our pup a water bowl. Fiona also told us about Dusty Rhodes park for our dog and it was an incredible time!

This restaurant is AMAZING! The food was delicious, service fast, and ambiance super cute and fun. Kids will love this place, as will families and couples looking for a tasty breakfast in a modern playful atmosphere. My partner and I went around 9:30am on a Monday, which is possibly why we received such quick service — the food came out in <10 minutes after we ordered. We sat outside, which was a bit chilly but cozy as they had the heaters on. The menu is impressive and has loads of options. I got the lobster Benedict, and my partner got a spicy meat skillet thing. We also got the turmeric and blue moon lattes. Highly recommend all of these things! The store inside is also really cute! The pastries tasted good and are the prettiest I’ve ever seen (and I’ve had many pastries in my life)! I also highly recommend the delicious lemon macarons. I’ll for sure be coming back during my next visit to San Diego and will be recommending S&S to others!

As the name suggests, Sugar and Scribe leans heavily on the sweet side. I ordered an oat milk latte that came sweetened by default, even though I didn’t request sugar so I’d recommend asking for no added sugar in advance if you prefer it less sweet. The bread pudding French toast was rich and flavorful, though definitely a large portion, best shared! My husband got the shakshuka without egg (he’s vegetarian), which was okay. They don’t offer dedicated vegetarian options, but the kitchen is accommodating and can modify dishes to exclude eggs or meat, which is helpful to keep in mind. The ambience is cute, the staff is friendly, and the wait time was reasonable. Overall, it’s a cozy spot for a sweet brunch, just be mindful of how sugary things can get.

You have GOT to try the pancakes….I am literally sitting here in the restaurant still eating these pancakes while writing this review because you have to know what I’m experiencing. These are easily the best pancakes of my life!! I dipped some in my husbands caramel sauce from his French toast and my eyes got brighter, the sky got brighter, I could smell the flowers a bit more. I honestly think these pancakes have changed my life. You must get them. They are even good plain!! I would never say that if you know me…. Ugh I hope to come back here one day.

***Second Review*** Another outstanding breakfast Ordered: Smothered and covered skillet with BBQ Beef - over easy eggs smothered with cheesy chicken gravy. Beef was tender with balanced sour and sweetness of BBQ sauce. Butter Poached Lobster Benedict - Deliciously rich hollandaise sauce over perfectly poached egg. Great portion of succulent lobster meat on a toasty English muffin. Chicken Caesar Wich - buttery and flaky croissant with well seasoned and crispy buttermilk fried chicken and fresh salad on the side. 6” Dripping in Finesse Cake (Vanilla Cake w/ Strawberry Cardamom Buttercream) - $90 cake that is so worth it! Simple, elegant design and luscious cake! It was 915AM on Wednesday so I have to drive around the block to find a parking spot. Courteous and attentive staff. Highly recommended for brunch menus and desserts/cakes! ***First Review*** Charming and aesthetic decor which is inviting upon entering. Ordered: Crabby Royale Benedict - loaded with delicious crabmeat, fresh arugula/avocado and perfectly poached egg topped with spicy sriracha hollandaise sauce makes this dish to order again on our next visit. Roasted potatoes was crispy and seasoned well. **spicy sriracha hollandaise wasn’t that spicy** Famous Rebellious Lobby Roll - right amount of delicious lobster meat with lemon aioli and seasonings in a tasty/butter roll. It comes with arugula salad. S & S Chocolate - Picture and taste perfect! Chocolate and whipped topping is so so good! The “Best” according to my wife; which I Agree! The toasted marshmallow was good too. Our server, Erin was nice and attentive from start to finish. Still few empty parking spot by the surrounding streets right after 9AM on a Saturday. No waiting to get in and only took 10-15 mins for our entire orders. Highly recommended. Will absolutely coming back to try their other dishes and desserts.

Delicious! The food is delicious, the benedict was cooked perfectly, with a tasty hollandaise sauce and crispy bacon. The potatos on the side were a great compliment, sliced like chips, they were perfect for scooping the sauce and yolk. The waffles were delicious too, the peach burbon sauce and elderberry cream was to die for We went during peak sunday bunch time (after 10 am on a sunday), parking is a little tricky, you might have to go a couple blocks, and since this place is popular, you might have a little bit of a wait. However the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fun, plus there is a take out coffee counter with pastries to order if you need somthing to tide you over. If you can, definitely visit, the sweet and savory offering for brunch are great! Will definitely come back.

My third visit and still a charm,in fact got better! The owner was decorating herself for Easter and had a pleasure to have a quick chat as she wore a Pug t shirt, she shared they have some hidden pug mementos around some of which I could quickly filter! Food, service and ambience at 💯 as always, quality unmatched and perfection on flavors! I have always loved their in house bread!!! The oat meal latte was too good and even the servers were prompt and paid proactive attention! We had a pleasant day overall as the vibe was set right! Let the crowd/queue not dissuade you, Its worth the wait!!!

The Original Pancake House is a Portland institution for classic American breakfast fare. The menu includes fluffy buttermilk short stacks, Dutch pancakes, and chocolate chip pancakes served with chocolate chips, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. All of the pancakes are excellent and reasonably priced.
This place runs like a well-oiled machine. The beverage staff alone deserves a shoutout—they literally stand at their station scanning the room like hydration ninjas, ready to top off your water or coffee without missing a beat. I was genuinely impressed. I ordered the baked bacon and cheese omelette and upgraded my buttermilk pancakes to blueberry. The omelette was incredible—perfectly cooked, fluffy, and unlike anything I’ve had before. The cheese on top was crusted and crunchy, which added an unexpected but delicious texture. As for the blueberry pancakes: packed with berries both inside and on top. No skimping here. You can tell they care about quality and flavor. I came solo and was seated immediately, but that was definitely a lucky break—it was Saturday at 9:00 a.m., and the place was packed with people waiting both inside and out. Despite the crowd, the staff kept things moving efficiently. My food did take a while to come out, but it’s totally understandable with how busy they were. Special thanks to my waitress—she knew it was my first time and took the time to explain the top menu items to help me decide. Super helpful and friendly. Will absolutely be coming back.

I have always wanted to try this place, and I am glad I did. I ate the 49er flapjacks. They were silky smooth and delicous! I also ordered a side of eggs(not pictured). The entire staff was friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is well lit, clean, and has ample seating. The one critique I would make is that the seats themselves are all metal with no seat cushions. This gets to be uncomfortable to sit in after a few minutes. I saw some older pictures of chairs that did have cushions. I hope this restaurant goes back to that. All in all, great food!!

Servers were friendly, attentive and filled our coffee and water glasses often. All food was served hot and fresh. Omelettes large and fluffy. Soft scrambled eggs were perfectly done. Sausage patties a bit spicy and greasy for my taste. Plain pancakes were just ok. Did not care for the syrup- tasted like sugar free (which can ruin the overall pancake experience). Would like to return and try another pancake option.

I wanna give a huge shoutout to Melissa off the back she was very attentive and displayed exemplary professionalism. The food here is great and the esthetic is A-1. The food came out super fast. I enjoyed every bite. The servers were on point and had a thorough Knowledge of the menu. Highly recommend this establishment.

Didn't have to wait to long for a table. Kids menu is great Service was kinda slow, had to wait a while to get attention from a server The peach crepe was too much in my opinion, peach inside rolled and peaches on top with the syrup made it too soggy. Original pancakes were great 👍

Fun place to come during strawberry season . I highly recommend ordering a bowl of strawberries with whipped cream. Service is fast and the waiters are attentive.
Lydia F — Google review
Go somewhere else. Price is a rip off in comparison to other places. Terrible staff and waiting times on food when it’s not even busy. Terrible servers who clearly would prefer to be anywhere else but there. Tiny tables and the biggest plates so there’s no room to eat. The waffle was SOOO disappointing. The orange juice was considered a LARGE. Just sad presentation and place it used to be much better. Definitely won’t be going back anymore. I had an omelette and my god it was season less lol just terrible across the board.

They missed one order on my husband's dish. We tried to get attention from the stuffs almost 15 minutes but nobody pay attention to us although there's many stuffs walk by. My husband didn't happy with it.

Crushed is a vibrant and trendy restaurant located in the heart of Pacific Beach, San Diego. Established in 2014 by Amy, Andy, and Edgar, this chic eatery offers a diverse menu featuring updated American dishes for brunch and dinner. Known for its mouth-watering tapas and creative cocktails, Crushed has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The 'Bresserts' section of the menu is highly recommended, offering delightful breakfast desserts.
Wow! Very satisfied with everything at my brunch at Crushed starting with lively vibes. Polite waiters. Clean place, clean table, clean bathroom. And DELICIOUS meals!! We went in a group of 5 with. Yelp reservation. Arrived early but still were able to accommodate us. We tried multiple items and we loved them all! Thank you for the nice morning!

We've come to San Diego for a conference every two years and we always make a point of a dinner at Crushed in Pacific Beach. They have a menu with some very unique and tasty options along with great choices of wine, beer and cocktails. This trip we enjoyed a flight of Margaritas (you could also choose a flight of Mimosa with many different juices/flavors. And for food we shared their Chicken Nachos (with a verde sauce) and the "Stinky Goat" - a flatbread pizza with goat cheese and prosciutto. Both were delicious. And to top off the evening it was Trivia Night - a very fun place for a great meal and drinks. We will be back next time we're in town!

Fun brunch at Crushed! Great vibe, we sat at the dog friendly outdoor area. We had the crab cake benny and chicken Parmesan sliders, both tasted great. Very friendly service. Can be a wait for a table on a Saturday, but worth it for having a nice menu of options. Recommend!

Great Breakfast/Brunch spot if you're visiting from out of town or you are local. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Indoor/outdoor seating is available with shade. There are so many great options, you will want to come back for more. We had the ceviche and these zucchini bites to start. We also ordered some of their mocktails, which were delicious and came with sour candy garnishments. The nitro cold brew was probably the best I've had. We got the fit Benny and the Daddycakes and absolutely *crushed* both of these. We will be back soon to try the mimosa flights and other great menu options.

One of my favorite brunch spots in San Diego. Every time I visit, I always make sure to stop by. Never have I had food here I haven’t liked and the drinks are consistently made, are pretty, and delicious. I love how new items are always added to the menus. Love this place 🫶🏻

It was good decision to come here for brunch after a night out with friends. The place alone is such a vibe, and the food was exactly what we needed. They have a good selection of food and drinks and the staff made good recs for what food and drinks based on our preference and their own favorites.

This place sits in a trendy little area of north park. The ambiance of this place is really cute and trendy. Alas the restaurant appeared to have no AC so we baked the whole time we sat. The service was prompt and our waitress was really nice. I got the vegan tacos and a hazy IPA which was delicious and i got to try the duck fries and the margarita flight. Id go back again when there’s a few less flys and the weather isn’t cooking you while you eat.

We went to Crushed had reservations which I recommend just to be forewarned if u sit inside the music is super loud and the Hightop tables for two are awkward and cramped so ask to sit elsewhere. The Service is fine not great Most of the workers seemed irrated but the Mimosa Flights made up for it Lavender,Blood Orange and Thyme Pear refreshing. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and The Bennie's was not disappointed the food was delicious.. We did try the fried deviled eggs which most reviews said was a must try ....but they were bland might have just been an off day for the eggs.. the bill came to 101.00 for 2 people be ready to spend some cash here if you get drinks as well

Atypical Waffle, formerly known as Wow Wow Waffle, is a charming eatery that specializes in serving up delicious housemade Liege waffles with a variety of sweet and savory toppings. The restaurant is dedicated to perfecting the art of waffle-making, using a two-day process that involves natural yeast rising. Their menu features an array of options, including sweet, not so sweet, and savory waffles.
Been here twice but only reviewing it now when it’s under new management. The place has been given a nice facelift with more seating and the menu has new options as well. I was informed that they would be getting a brand new menu in a couple of weeks. I had Strawberry Fields which is waffles with strawberries and kiwi. The selling point was the guava sauce which was just right and tasted really great! My partner had the chicken and waffles. The chicken cutlet could be better but the sauce was really good! They also serve some mains and sides worth trying. Parking can be a bit of a hassle where you have to drive around a bit.

Loved the food. I ordered the Vegetarian Benedict Waffle and the fresh OJ. The Benny sauce paired perfectly with the sweet potato and veggies. The waffle had unique, tasty sweet crisp to it. Everything fresh and hot off the grill. Can't wait to try more waffles. 🧇 😋
Courtney — Google review
Definitely not Atypical Waffle anymore. Now it’s Good Measure. The once amazing home made waffles have been replaced with bland and flat waffles. The toppings are mediocre and everything tastes of too much sugar. The atmosphere is cute except for all the flies constantly landing on you and your food. It’s also highly overpriced. Too bad the once amazing institution of Wow Wow Waffles is gone.

Our first visit to San Diego and someone recommended Wow Wow Waffle to us. Super clean, super friendly and we loved the owner and chef always saying PERrrrfect! The food was amazing and we can’t wait to visit again. The location is perfect 🤩 because of the beach being nearby and we got the cutest Wow Wow Waffle drink cup. Thank you for making our San Diego trip one to remember. We will be back!!!

I have gone to this restaurant a total of twice and the first time I went it was before the pandemic, it had a different name “Wow wow waffle”. I had such a wonderful experience here that many years later I came back and had such an awesome experience once again. The place is wheelchair accessible. The person on staff was so nice and super friendly as well as welcoming. I had the homemade lemonade, the squirrel jam, the number Seven and chicken nugs & waffles. I really enjoy the eclectic, relaxed vibe as well as the greenery inside. It makes you feel like you aren’t in the middle of the city. Highly recommend for lovers of breakfast both sweet and savory.

Always walk by here yet had no idea it was such a vibe inside. I had the fresh and light waffle and it was such a treat! Made to order by a very friendly staff - this waffle was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. You can tell they pay so much attention to the detail in making these fine treats. Coming back to try more! Thanks 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Cocina De Barrio is a casual restaurant in Point Loma, San Diego, offering creative Mexican cuisine and brunch specials. The restaurant is known for its delightful Oaxacan dishes and beautifully crafted drinks, including playful Popsicle Margaritas and signature tequila cocktails with unique infusions. The vibrant and rustic decor of the restaurant creates an atmosphere reminiscent of Mexico.
Cocina De Barrio is in San Diego and was absolutely fantastic. I have never had a spin on Mexican inspired breakfast the way CDB does it. It is difficult to put it in words. I had a poached egg breakfast and have not had a better breakfast with a poached egg than CDB. The service was great and the portion size was more than enough. There is inside and outside seating as well as seating at the bar (full bar). We had Sopas Benny, Cafe de olla coffee, pollo en mole negro, chorizo hash, ginger sangria white wine. We didn't have a wait when we arrived (1045am) but when we left there was. The next time I'm in the San Diego area we will visit CDB for sure. I took a pic of the menu, take a look at the pancake and waffle breakfast creations, amazing. Can't wait to return.

My mom and I were looking for brunch in the downtown San Diego area, and this spot caught my eye. Cocina de Barrio is a cute spot serving hearty food, delicious and aesthetic cocktails, and good vibes all around! They don’t take reservations for brunch, for those trying to reserve beforehand. It’s a huge seating area though, both indoors and outdoors, so you and your group should be ser! My mom and I walked in and got seated immediately. Our servers were super nice, and had a good sense of humor. We ordered the enmoladas (which my mom enjoyed), and I devoured the sopes benny. Both dishes were delicious!! I also got the Tia Chata cocktail, which was a cute cocktail that came with its own popsicle! I could see the girlies having a cute brunch here, especially with their mimosa deal. Definitely come by and check this place out! Drinker or not, this restaurant is a must try!

Just landed in San Diego and stopped at Cocina De Barrio for lunch. Really good authentic Mexican joint with a relaxed outdoor seating area. We had chips, salsa, guacamole, and their house-made salsa macha, which was excellent. I tried a couple of Mezcals and ordered the plant-based mushroom tacos - easily some of the best I’ve had, full of flavor and very satisfying. Great place to unwind after a flight.
Samarth S — Google review
My favorite was the pineapple upsidedown pancakes. I will simply go back for those. Green chilaquiles tasted good. Omlette did not have a lot of flavor. Was charged two dollars for a side of green salsa. Went early on a Sunday, so it was crowded and a bit loud. That's expected though, given how many people go. Had to pay for parking. $20 dollars for 3 hours.
Blanca — Google review
Great vibes all around. Went on a Sunday with no reservations and only waited about 15mins for a table. I didn’t like that you couldn’t order drinks at the bar and wait for a table. If you went to the bar you had to stay there to eat and you would not be added to the waitlist. The food was good. The drinks were better! The service from DAVID WAS THE BEST! Have great recommendations, was quick with bottomless mimosa refills, and extremely attentive. Will be back.

Delicious food with beautiful presentation! The chilaquiles were flavorful, fresh, and loaded with toppings—definitely a must-try. The Stuffed French Toast is amazing as well.

Enjoyed visiting this place for brunch with family from out of town. Dog friendly patio. Food presentation is lovely, unfortunately I found a hair in my dish. Everyone else in our party seemed pleased with their choices. Seems that with a little more love and attention to service and other details, this place could deliver higher. Still a good option and would not discourage anyone from visiting.

My favorite brunch spot in San Diego, if not my favorite brunch spot of all time. Most of the time there’s a wait, but it’s worth it in my opinion. It's a strange sensation to feel like you're on vacation while still in your own city, but this place definitely gives that vibe. The restaurant is quite elegant. My sea bass was cooked to perfection—tender and flaky, with a crispy, salty skin, just the way I like it. My friend found his first dish too salty, but the restaurant made sure to accommodate him by offering an alternative, which was much better. Their effort was greatly appreciated.

We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon at The Naked Cafe. The atmosphere was lovely, and we were seated immediately. Overall very good. This spot is right by the water so it’s great for breakfast and a walk. They have vegan and vegetarian options. It gets pretty busy so expect a crowd. I was there for a rare experience of taking myself out to breakfast 😋 The staff were nice but busy! The food was good and I really enjoyed my latte! You can view the water from some of the tables. Not fancy but has character. I was able to find parking in a near by lot on a mid-Saturday morning. Bon appétit 🤩

My friend suggested this place for lunch and we loved it! It's right across the street from the ocean and a block from Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach. There was a nice breeze and perfect weather when we were there. It has a large outdoor patio seating area in front. There were small patio umbrellas scattered around but it was still too sunny so we opted to sit in the covered seating area above. We had a great view of the ocean. The food was delicious and so healthy. I ordered the Pesto Scramble this time. There were a lot of other dishes that I wanted to try so we will be back.

Some friends and I stopped here for brunch. It was our first time coming here. We sat inside because it was a bit chilly out. I had seen this place had great reviews. I was unfortunately disappointed with the plate I ordered. I ordered the buff burritos. It had no taste, no salt and tasted honestly like nothing. I added salt and that helped a bit. It was VERY VERY VERY hot inside. It made it kinda hard to enjoy the place. The server was nice but that's pretty much it. I won't be coming back here for food wise. The lattes looked good. I didn't get to try any though. The mimosas were a bit hot when brought to us. My friends also agreed that there food was very bland with no flavor. I think only one friend liked her plate (the pesto scrambled plate).

Clayton's Coffee Shop is a nostalgic, old-fashioned landmark that offers classic American meals, coffee, and pie in a vintage setting. The diner features cherry-red booths, countertop jukeboxes playing golden hits, and ice-cold milkshakes. It is known for its original horseshoe counter dating back to 1939. Guests can enjoy the historic ambiance while socializing at the iconic countertop or opt for sidewalk pick-up.
The service staff were very friendly and observant. The restaurant had a classic ambiance. The historic horseshoe bar was a great place to sit and enjoy our food. Our meal started well with tasty biscuits and gravy, and my fiancé's chicken fried steak was satisfying. We'll definitely come back, what a lovely spot.

This is a must see and eat location on the beautiful Coronado Island. This is our second time making it to this dinner and the atmosphere along with the service are just a great experience that brings you back to a bright 1940's. The variety of food including American and Mexican food provides a good mix for breakfast and lunch combination that will keep you coming for more. I enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros which was a decent portion with my eggs cooked as requested. Seating is limited, but the food and drinks comes fast so we got seated in a decent time. We will be back again to enjoy Clayton's coffee house!

Love this place!!! Vibe is 60/70's diner. My husband and I was Visiting the area and decided to patron a small business. So glad we did! Everything is made from scratch! Awesome food, made to order. This place is a gem. We stumbled upon it on our last day of vacation as we were visiting Coronado island and on a 1.5 hr waitlist for what looked like a delicious but pretentious restaurant that was nearby. After finding out that a wait for a table at Clayton’s was only 10 minutes, we decided to eat there instead. We sat at the counter and our server Jaxy was great. My husband and I ordered her suggestion of the carnitas and chorizo hash with a cinnamon glazed pancake. My daughter had a hot dog and fries. Everything was delicious and the retro vibe of the place is super cute and colorful. The music was fun too; a combo of 80’s and 90’s alternative/new wave. Super happy we stopped in here instead because by the time we left, the other restaurant texted to say our table was ready. Thanks for the awesome time, Clayton’s - you made our day.

Great location for anytime of the day. Wasn’t too crowded on the two occasions that I have visited. Ordered the Prime Ribeye which came with a lot of sides. I would have to say that I’m only giving 3 stars because the dish overall felt a bit too greasy, vegetables were heavy with oil which I wasn’t a fan of. Was looking for something lighter. Fries were fried perfectly, would highly recommend. The steak itself was a bit greasy and thin, but it tasted fine. Would go to a steak restaurant though for steak next time. Will have to say that though the tortilla chicken soup was small, it was very good. Will be coming back to taste more of the menu.

My daughter and I tried Clayton’s Cafe for the first time. We went during the non busy hours so we did not feel crowded. We really enjoyed the classic 40’s cafe atmosphere. The service was excellent and our food was delicious. We ordered a BLTA with an egg, the Black Forest Ham croissant sandwiches , with sweet potato fries on the side. For drinks we ordered a coffee, and a matcha iced tea. Good quality food ! Photos don’t do justice! You definitely receive your money’s worth! We look forward to going back again.

Nestled within the charming King's Inn in San Diego, The Waffle Spot is a delightful diner that has been serving up breakfast favorites for years. This family-friendly eatery boasts whimsical murals and a vibrant color scheme of light blues and purples, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for casual brunches or special celebrations like birthday parties.
We enjoyed the food and the customer service that we returned twice in one week. Our first visit was excellent and the waffles and breakfast plates come out a few minutes after we ordered. We returned for second time around lunch and realized they close early during winter season so we ordered and received the same quality of food and service. There is ample parting and seating wait is fast during the weekdays. Highly recommended and will return again with my family.

Heard about this spot through my niece so we went to investigate. First the entrance is through the king inn, not through the side that looks like the entrance. Then you have to scan the barcode to get on a waitlist because no one comes to get you even if they see you. Once we got seated the waitress came took outlet order and drinks, she was very nice. I got the farmers breakfast it comes with hash browns sausage, bacon, ham and eggs and 2 mini waffles with a Bloody Mary. I was very satisfied with my meal. My husband got the chicken and waffles w blueberries he was satisfied. My daughter got the nut and banana waffle with bacon and hash browns. Very satisfied. We will be back my daughter and I will try the chilaquiles for sure.

We visited the waffle spot during our vacation trip to San Diego, the food was good specially the waffle and they really deserved to be the best in SD. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Overall we would definitely recommend it!!!

Huevos rancheros is my must try if available. The waffle spot has the option of choosing from red or green sauce. i tried the green sauce huevos rancheros. Absolutely delicious 😋🤤. Now I have to return nd try the red sauce huevos rancheros. I'll keep ya posted. My girlfriend had chicken and waffles. She upgraded her waffle to blueberry waffle, which I have to admit pretty darn good I do recommend!😋

Best waffles around. We ate there 4 times during our stay at the inn. It was a mile walk from where we stayed. Friendly staff, awesome food prices are moderate, music was right up my alley.

I had an early flight so I came first thing at 7am and was immediately greeted by welcoming staff. Service was quick and food was delicious! I got the Churro Waffle and a side of hash browns, both coming out in less than 15 minutes. I made it out and in time for my flight thanks to their quick service!

Brian's 24 is a diner that is open 24 hours and specializes in breakfast foods. It has an inviting atmosphere with an open kitchen, a mahogany bar, and a crystal chandelier.
Cool, fun place! The food seems a little pricey at first, but the portions are ENORMOUS so it all makes sense. We were here for breakfast and it was very cheery and upbeat. The service was great; one of those places where your coffee gets refilled on your second-to-last sip without you having to say a word.

This place would have been 5 stars but the pancakes were not fluffy (they were more chewy). My bf got the breakfast burger and it was way better than expected! I mean really good! All you can eat home fries and the coffee was strong. I would go back just to try the French toast.
Megan B — Google review
This not the Brian's 24 it used to be. Loved the food before it changed menu items and recipes. It's now also very pricey. Went in to try the pancake souffle but the waiter said that the machine that makes them was broken. Not only did I have a really tough time trying to find something to order, I ended up getting a basic breakfast sandwich, coffee and orange juice for $37with tip. Service was fine.

Stopped by to eat breakfast. Was seat quickly. Four of us were seated in a tight booth with no room. Food came out quickly. I ordered the Brian54 omelet, 🥓 bacon, and a 🥞 pancake. When the order came out there was three pancakes. The omelet was okay, would order again. Too many pancakes to eat. My friends ordered shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, homefries, and sausage. Overall experience was okay

Good place if you don't like sugar. I personally was disappointed. The waffles tasted bland, the maple syrup didn't taste like real maple syrup. It tasted like lighty sweetened water. Monte Cristo was good. Service was average/poor. The waiter didn't seem to care much, he had his hands in his pockets. Overall not the best experience.

This place has very generous portions. Not only are the portions good but the food is great. Service was prompt and the staff was very nice. Went twice, once for breakfast and another for lunch. If you think you can handle the pancake monster go right ahead.

Came here for the souffle. Having tasted my first one at... I was looking forward to trying it here. Unfortunately it wasn't good. It was dry. My wife tried the chicken and waffles and the chicken was over cooked. My wife ordered one of their lattes and she liked it. My kids got the kids egg with bacon, really is more for a toddler being that it was such a small amount of food. Location ambiance was very nice. Staff was quick to tend to us. Won't be visiting again, was nothing special. Presentation of food was very nice

Davanti Enoteca is a popular rustic-chic hot spot with a large patio and a diverse menu of refined Italian cuisine. The restaurant offers a daily happy hour from 3 to 6 pm, featuring great deals on both drinks and food. Their signature burger, topped with bacon jam, confit tomato, arugula, aioli, and griddled cheese curd, is a budget-friendly option that comes with parmesan shoestring fries.
One of my wife's regulars at her bar in San Francisco recommended Davanti when he heard we were going to San Diego. The Focaccia was to DIE for. I wasn't expecting it to be anything special, but it was absolutely exquisite. Beef Carpaccio, Caprese Salad, and the Carne Pizza were all amazing. My wife ordered the Carpaccio and said it's one of the best she's had! FiL ordered a meatball sub and salad and was pleased. MiL ordered the Calamari, it was also pretty good.. though not spectacular. Overall great experience and very friendly and attentive service. 5 stars through and through. Came back a second time for the Focaccia and a Caprese Salad. Wonderful!! Happy Hour was great! Will absolutely be back to try the Davanti Burger.

My husband and I went for appetizers and drinks, we had calamari fritti and meatballs, husband had beers and I had a Paloma and a Margarita, I like fresh drinks more than sweet then the Paloma was better for me. The meatballs were kind of cold by the time we got them, taste wasn’t bad but I like hot food hot, the calamari was good. The service was very good, Alex was very kind and the atmosphere was nice.

Made a reservation about a week in advance for a Friday at 6:30 with 8 guests. Restaurant was fairly busy and did seem to have a wait at the door. Seated on the back patio - lovely art/murals and atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their dishes: -Focaccia with Honey (good) -Cacio e Pepe (good) -Carbonara Risotto (good) -Wedge Salad (fairly small) -Rigatoni Vodka (good) -Burger (delicious!) -Carajillo (decent)

The food at Davanti Enoteca Little Italy was authentic and oh, so delicious! For starters, you simply must try the "Fried Roman Artichokes," "Roasted Beets," "Arugula Salad," and the "Foccacia Di Recco" which is served with a drizzled of hot honey! The "Cacio E Pepe" was a delectable spagettini entree tossed with a good portion of fennel sausage in a light buttery sauce and a light dusting of paremesan! The passion fruit Spritzer was a refreshing beverage with my meal.
Marcia C — Google review
My friend’s recommendation for this place didn’t disappoint! In 2015 she and her husband had the focaccia di recco. Apparently a chef comes in every morning and makes the cheese with love. We ordered it and we’re not thrilled when it came out until we tasted it. Holy cow it is so delicate and absolutely perfect. I can’t tell you how delicious this dish was six of a split and we ordered extra honeycomb. We were licking the honey at the end. It was just all magical. The CARNE pizza was absolutely scrumptious as well as the mascarpone polenta with pork ragu. I normally would not have ordered the polenta and pork, but so glad I did. It felt like a grandma made it with all her wisdom. It was served table side in a couple different sauce pans onto an old cutting board. The chicken Caesar salad salad and pasta à la vodka were both also super delicious.
Amy K — Google review
Ask for Alex! Amazing Food and Service. Had an awesome birthday dinner for my girlfriend here. The vibe is fantastic, but the real highlights were the food and our server, Alex. His recommendations were great – the ricotta in vodka sauce and the prosciutto pizza were both 10/10. Alex made sure we had a perfect evening. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion!

Also an affordable and cheap lunch spot. On weekdays there is a lunch menu with paninis and other lighter options. I ordered a delicious meatball sandwich with a refreshing salad, and was out of there quickly and for under $20. My only slight complaint would be service attentiveness, but the servers were so friendly. Davanti Enoteca is a solid dinner spot, and you should check it out for a weekday lunch also.
Derek M — Google review
The best thing about our experience was the appetizers. Me and my ladies loved the calamari and the bread with 🍯. I ordered the Genovese which was delicious, but I ate so much calamari I could only take a few bites. My girls all loved their dishes as well. Our least favorite part of dinner was by far the drinks. I ordered the Paloma which was overpowered by bitters, that’s all I could taste. My ladies ordered mojitos and they also said they taste was way off. I tasted one of them and it tasted like toothpaste ugh. She sent it back and my friend and I just sucked it up and drink ours. When you want to have good food and good drinks during a night out and one of those is a miss, it completely throws things off. Maybe just check that the bartender from the night of 7/18 knows what they are doing, Quality&Assurance. Service was pretty good, however, a few more table checks would’ve been appreciated especially after receiving my drink. Overall, glad we got to explain new spot now on to the next. 🥂

The Mission is a popular breakfast spot in San Diego with offering Asian and Latin American flavors. The restaurant has simple, relaxed atmosphere that makes it ideal for people who want to enjoy their meals without feeling rushed. There is a menu of health-inspired Asian and Latin American foods as well as great coffee that makes this place an excellent choice for anyone looking for a nutritious meal.
The best part of waking up is Mission on your plate. Corny? Maybe. But it’s exactly how I felt after starting my morning at Mission. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait was short—even for a weekend breakfast spot. You seat yourself, and within seconds, a friendly staff member was at our table. One woman seemed to be running the whole floor like a pro, with quick help from a man bringing dishes and drinks out. It was impressive to watch. Now, the food—wow!!! It came out fast, hot, and fresh. I had the House-Made Cinnamon French Toast with eggs and bacon. Every bite was perfectly fluffy and flavorful—I honestly didn’t want to stop eating, even when I was full. My co-worker had the Baked Banana Caramel French Toast, which was just as delicious (I stole a bite, of course). The portions are generous, and the prices are almost too good to be true for the quality and quantity. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with killer breakfast, don’t sleep on this place. Just wake up and go.

Out of all the places we’ve tried on our trip, 10+, this was the most mediocre. It was fine, but nothing was great and the prices were much higher than other breakfasts we had that ended up being much better. I got the banana caramel French toast and my husband got the pancakes. The French toast was good but way too sweet after the first couple of bites to enjoy and it was cooked and served in a cast iron skillet so it was very well stuck to the skillet and difficult to eat. I gave up about half way through and called it. The pancakes were good and fluffy, the side of bacon only came with 2 slices which was disappointing for $5 with 2 eggs.

The food here was phenomenal - so tasty and so flavourful! The staff was on point and our server was great. The one knock was that i got up to use the restroom and a guy working there said its outside. It was locked and i thought someone was using it. Later i saw another woman got a key. I mean, he could have been like it’s outside and you need a key. Inside was fun and nice vibe. I’m glad we didn’t sit outside. The surrounding area is a little sketchy and there was a homeless man harassing the outside patrons. And like a lot of downtown San Diego, it smelled a lot like human waste.

The make their own gluten free rosemary and cinnamon bread and it’s INCREDIBLE!! I had one bite of the gluten free French toast and bought a loaf to bring home. If you’re gluten free this really is one of the best brunches you’ll have.

Game day and crowded beyond control. We got in the wait list and were given a time, walked back in and were promptly seated at the time they mentioned they will have our table ready. Food was a bit delayed but the waiter took time to tell us the expected time of food and did bot miss the mark. Warm and welcoming, with amazing food line up that will entice a 11 year old.

Breakfast restaurant
Harry's Coffee Shop, established in 1960, is a beloved spot known for its all-day breakfast menu and classic diner ambiance. The place has sponsored various sports leagues over the years and offers traditional favorites like Bacon Pancakes and Grilled Chicken with Greens Salad. Despite its old-school charm, Harry's also features modern additions such as espresso drinks, cold brews, and gluten-free options.
We visited during our spring break vacation, and it was one of our highlights. It did take a while to be seated, even when half the restaurant was empty, but we did visit on a Thursday morning and it seemed like they had limited staff. Once we were seated, we had a great experience. The staff was incredibly engaging with our kids, and we really enjoyed our food. Our kids shared pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, and didn't leave one crumb behind. We also ordered a carne asada breakfast burrito, the salsa on the side had the perfect amount of spice kick to it. Everything on the menu looked great!

There is a reason why this place has been in business since 1960. The food was great and on par with every other breakfast restaurant price-wise. I got the BW Benny's and it was delicious. My aunt and mom split the oatmeal pancakes and really enjoyed theirs as well. Our server was even better than the mesh.

My partner chose this place for breakfast, one morning in La Jolla, as we attempted to pass a little time, hoping the all-encompassing gray clouds would burn off, at the beach. Harry's Coffee Shop is like walking into a Time Warp, of pure Americana. It has that perfect diner vibe. Vintage pictures line the walls here. My favorite, was of the owner, standing alongside Willie Mays. It was a huge booth to ceiling black & white photo, which reminded an old timer like me, of my days of listening to baseball on the radio. Now on to the food. I loved my breakfast here! The hash browns were amazingly crisp-both sides, and had that strived-for golden brown color. My chicken-fried steak was a decently-sized portion, with a nice floured & fried coating, plus it was smothered in a distinctly different & delicious white gravy, with hints of rosemary. My scrambled eggs arrived to my table hot, & had a creamy texture, with buttery flavor. Our server was attentive, & friendly, bringing me a stainless steel carafe of coffee, after I plowed through my first cup. Near the end of our visit here, service lagged, & our server was slow to get our check, & to-go boxes. For this reason, I gave 4 stars for service. Everything else about our time here, was perfect. This place has been here, since 1960, & after eating here, I can certainly see why. The prices are decent, & the menu choices, abundant. My partner loved her Veggie Omelette, & she chose a Pancake, for her choice of bread, which was delicious, as well. Their are 2 small lockable all gender bathrooms at Harry's. Both are in the same general area. 1 is located down a long narrow hallway, by the back door. The other is outside the restaurant's back door, then just to your right. The restrooms were tidy & clean. There is a large parking lot behind Harry's Coffee Shop, & that's good, because street parking in front is limited, & tough to come by. I loved this quaint coffee shop, which serves old timey vibes, & excellent food.

Rustic Root is a trendy rooftop destination located in the historic Gaslamp Quarter. The multi-level restaurant features an open-air rooftop patio with a dedicated bar, surrounded by life-size animal topiary bushes and street-style lights. The menu offers rustic American cuisine, including hearty meat dishes, seafood, and pasta like their popular lobster pappardelle. Guests can enjoy craft cocktails, wine, and beer while taking in the lively atmosphere of the bustling street below.
Went here for a friend date night and cool vibes. Found the restaurant on a IG page and just had to try it. The restaurant decor is amazing, the vibes are good, food is great, and the location is centrally located in downtown San Diego. The drinks was a 8/10. The food was great I got the lobster pasta 8/10. My friend ordered the crab cakes 3x 10/10. Jambalaya was a 6/10 and I say that because the person that ordered it is from New Orleans and it was his rating. Overall great place and a must go.
Alison F — Google review
A little disappointed— style over substance? We were excited for a Saturday brunch on the rooftop here. The menu is small, but some tasty options with reasonable pricing. We had a reservation, and a table was available upon arrival. The vibe was pretty chilled, but it was getting busier as some bachelorette parties arrived. We ordered the BLT Benedict and pork belly kimchi fried rice…they came out pretty quickly, but both arrived barely warm, and our lattes showed up halfway through the meal as they had to get more espresso pods (not fresh ground, sadly). We saw lots of fun-looking cocktails and mimosas being served around us, which we would probably try if we go again. We were there at 11am and it seemed like only one waiter (Jesse) was working the whole floor like a pro and being very friendly despite being busy, while there were 2 or 3 individuals working host stations. As a result, they were slow to greet us and felt a little rushed to take drinks and food orders right away. As an observation, and consistent with other recent reviews around service, it seems management can’t/aren’t able to get staffing levels right, impacting the overall experience.

Amazing service and even better food. I come here whenever I am in San Diego it’s my favorite restaurant and I always clear my plate (rare occurrence)!!! Drinks are lovely and the non-alcoholic options taste great. Very attentive and friendly staff even on a busy night. I was there for a special occasion and our server kindly treated the table to a free dessert. I have never had a bad dish here.

TLDR: food was not great but the service and atmosphere are top notch We ordered the prime rib Thursday special and I was very disappointed with it. The prime rib was not at all soft and tender, it was basically a tough and chewy New York strip steak. I wasn’t a fan of the breading on the firecracker shrimp though my gf was ok with it. Natalie was a great server and attentive throughout.
Wilson T — Google review
We reserved tables for the rooftop. We had a lot of issues with the atmosphere. The rooftop is EXTREMELY loud so don't eat up there if you want a family dinner. Additionally, the table next to us was vaping and blowing their smoke towards our table. Normally, it's not a huge bother but we had a one year old with us. We informed management and they did ask them to stop, but they continued to smoke. The restaurant the offered to move us to the fire pit for no additional fee. We were pleased with how the staff handled the issue. The food we ordered was delicious albeit a bit on pricier side. Overall, I would recommend this place as the food was great and the staff very courteous. Just be prepared to spend a little and pick the bottom if you're having a family dinner.

My friend & I wanted to drive to SD after a morning function I attended as a speaker, so after doing some quick research, we called and made reservations the day of 4/12. We arrived earlier at SD, so we called if we could go earlier, and they said yes. Once we parked, we walked to the restaurant. I really liked the entrance to the rooftop and the vibe. We sat at the bar to have a drink, and the bartenders were very nice. Then we sat at our table and ordered burgers and our own individual Truffle Fries. Since the weather was pleasant, we decided to stay a little longer for the dinner menu and then ordered the Firecracker Mango Shrimp. This was my first time having this, and I did enjoy three. The Mango Sauce had the right kick to complement the shrimp wrapped in that crispyness. We shared laughs, and the server was not overbearing and checked in enough times that made our experience great. I also enjoyed a Lavender Lemonade.💜. Thank you to those who were working that shift, the service was good.🙏🏽.

We love playing casual volleyball games at La Jolla Shores Beach, and I looked up nearby food spots, perfect find! This place is great. Just a heads-up: there’s usually a long line if you’re dining in. But if you’re ordering to-go, the line is much shorter, which worked better for us since we wanted to head back, relax, and enjoy the beach with friends and family. Honestly, the food is worth trying! We loved the tuna sandwich and the beef short ribs hash with eggs. Just note: you can’t get the mimosas for takeout. I didn’t get a chance to take photos of everyone because we were so hungry, but it was definitely worth it. I especially loved the tuna sandwich with the side, just not the salad, haha! I like salad, just not after a game. The front desk staff (I forgot her name) was super friendly and let us know we didn’t need to line up with dine-in customers. There are two lines: one for dine-in and another for takeout/delivery. The takeout line is definitely the way to go.

Amazing brunch with a breathtaking view at Caroline’s Seaside Cafe in La Jolla Shores! Tasty iced cappuccino and mocha. The food was yummy, we liked the beef short rib hash and eggs, curried chicken salad sandwich, and cinnamon roll. Very friendly staff. Expect to wait in line and need some time for your food to come out, but with a view like that you should be entertained. Dog friendly as well. Recommend!

probably the best view of La Jolla shores from any restaurant near by, paired with great and friendly service, and fresh delicious food, its absolutely worth the live and even the parking adventure. We lucked out by getting a table next to the glass with a view. All the tables had been full. The potatoes and vegetarian omelet were good. The eggs were a bit softer than I like. The sourdough was tasty. The iced Chai was also delicious.

They seem a bit unnecessarily strict with their ordering and seating system. Especially considering it's gloomy Monday morning and their is no line and plenty of open tables. They have a cafe order set up, but you can not sit unless you order food from their seating* menu. Also i only ordered a coffee and it stilk took 20mins to come out.. Honestly this place put a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure I'd be a returning customer. Pinpoint is a super cute cafe up the street with better view that id prefer to visit.

Hob Nob Hill is a diner located in San Diego, CA that has been in operation for over 1944. The diner specializes in American comfort cooking and serves generous portions of food in comfy and casual settings. It regularly receives accolades from the Southern California Restaurant Writers Association.
This was the first time in awhile that I visited Hob Nob Hill, and everything was delicious! We ordered the deviled eggs, the meatloaf dinner, and the smash burger. Everything was well seasoned, tasted fresh and overall presented well. The inside was clean, organized, and had that classic diner feel. Our server was Jeannine. She and the other staff were all friendly and attentive. We also ordered some pastries to go, there are several great choices. The cinnamon roll was a solid pick. I will be back!!

My wife and I found this online and decided to give it a try. While there, we found out that Hob Nob Hill has been around for 81 years. It's under news ownership now, but the menu was left unchanged, although it was improved upon. My wife and I shared onion rings, a garden salad, and the chicken and dumplings. All the food was great. However, I can honestly say that I have never had chicken and Dumplings as rich and delicious as what is served here. The manager, Carlos, was warm, friendly, and attentive. It was obvious that he was proud of the food the kitchen was putting out.

Wanted to stop in because of reviews, and because this place is anchored in Southern California / San Diego Restaurant lore. I started off with a well gin martini + filthy dirty please 🙏 Carlos the manager said martinis are my specialty … it absolutely did NOT disappoint, it was amazing. We tried several things on the menu including appetizers, meal, and red velvet cake dessert. All top shelf and outstanding service. Carlos is the bomb ! … we will be back. Yes, it may be under new ownership after 81 years … but with Carlos standing watch on the Ship, she is in very good hands.

We just wrapped up a 5-day trip to San Diego, and out of all the places we ate, Hob Nob Hill was the one we came back to again and again — three times in total. The service was fantastic every single visit. Our server, Carlos, was perfect — genuine, friendly, attentive, yet never overburdening. And the food? Every single dish hit the mark. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered, and that’s saying something when you’ve got different tastes at the table. The menu is straightforward, with plenty of variety, but not so huge that it feels overwhelming. Everything feels thoughtfully put together. We always found parking during the week, which made it easy to stop in. Honestly, this place felt like a local favorite and the kind of spot travelers will want to put on their list. If we lived in San Diego, this would definitely be our family’s regular spot. And whenever we’re back in town, Hob Nob Hill will be a must-visit.

Absolutely loved my experience at Hob Nob Hill! The space was spotless with beautiful white subway tile and sleek black marble countertops—it felt classic but fresh. I was honestly shocked there was no wait on a Saturday morning for breakfast. I ordered the Mediterranean omelette, and it was perfect—flavorful without being greasy like at so many other places. The English muffin? Hands down the best I’ve ever had. And the orange juice was freshly squeezed, which was such a nice touch. 10s across the board. Also a great spot if you’re coming with a larger group. Definitely coming back!

Stumbled upon this place by searching for nearby restaurants close to the hotel we stayed in. Nice little spot with great food and excellent service from the manager Carlos and other staff. We ate there 3 times during our stay in San Diego. Will definitely come back to this place.
Michelle D — Google review
This wonderful diner is situated just outside city but it is full of hustle and bustle. The food is stellar, and stellar is putting it lightly. The staff embodies the tenant of old fashioned diners. There is a reason this place has been longstanding for 80 years!

HUGE difference with the new ownership and staff. Carlos and Naomi are fantastic. I go there for dinner every weekend and they treat me like I am family coming home. It is night and day from what it used to be and I am so happy to see Hob Nob have the same delicious meals but now with excellent service to go with it. Strongly recommend people come back and give it another try!

Located on the fourth floor of Hotel Solomar in San Diego, Jsix Bar is a popular spot known for its seafood-focused Californian cuisine and craft cocktails. The restaurant offers a smart setting with a combination of lounge, swank, and class. Visitors praise the exceptional food options, particularly highlighting the outstanding flavors of dishes like burgers and vegan tacos. The modern space provides an excellent dining experience with delicious shared appetizers such as calamari salad and well-cooked steak and scallops dishes.
First time here and for being a restaurant bar part of a hotel it has really good options and the food has a particular touch. Tastes are better than average. I tried the burger and its flavour is outstanding from other burger places. Also tried the vegan tacos (3) with roasted peppers and mushrooms with pico de gallo and.they are really good. The combination of flavors make it a whole and good choice for vegans and since it has double tortilla it's a complete meal. I tried the Mai Tai and it was really good. Service was excellent, great vibes from the barman that's also the server. The decorations are elegant and place is clean. A great option if you don't want to risk it for an excellent burger or just looking to fuel before you start enjoying San Diego.

Jsix is located in the heart of Gaslamp District. The place is cool and spacy, the staff very nice. The menu is limited, a few starter, main dishes and desserts. The food was OK, but not extra-ordinary. At that price you'll expect a little bit more. The accoustics are challenging, difficult to make conversations in here.

Good selection of beer. Good food. I had their sliders. They were delicious. Bartender was friendly and made sure my order was to my liking. Will be coming here again. They had a few large screens where I was able to watch the rockets-warriors game this evening.

Great small restaurant next to the Solamar San Diego hotel. Compact offering for breakfast with a warming atmosphere and a first-class service. Their sour dough toast is especially great!

Jsix is consistently good and one of my favorite breakfast/brunch choices in San Diego! From ambiance to menu to service, you can't go wrong at Jsix. Their Green Chilaquiles are good, but their Red Sauce Chilaquiles are my absolute favorite! Hope they bring that specialty back soon!

Ate at the bar. My cheeseburger was cooked to perfection (medium rare). The IPA I had on tap was refreshing.

Great modern space. Started with a shared appetizer - a terrific calamari salad. Gorgeous presentation and the salad was bright, had good crunch, and was just flat out delicious. Wife had a well cooked steak (rare plus) and I had a delectable scallops dish. Terrific service too! Excellent all around.

Shorehouse Kitchen is a laid-back cafe located in La Jolla Shores, offering a mix of locally roasted coffee and an assortment of brunch-inspired dishes. The eatery features a spacious outdoor patio, attracting surfers and locals looking to savor made-to-order organic smoothies, fresh salads, flatbreads, soups, sandwiches, cheeseburgers, and prime steak frites.
We visited this place because our local friends had recommended it. With its impressive Yelp and Google reviews, and a long line when we arrived, we made the right decision to come here. The service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed their famous Tahitian French toast, which was incredibly tasty that even our picky eater, who doesn’t usually like French toast, couldn’t resist asking for more. The salmon benedicts were also quite good, and the grilled cheese was a classic choice that couldn’t be wrong. However, I had high hopes for their Kyoto coffee, which supposedly features homemade macadamia nut milk. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I couldn’t even finish a single sip because it was so watery and tasteless. Now, let’s talk about the parking situation. This neighborhood has no public parking, so you’re either fighting to find a spot or arriving super early. We arrived around 10 am on a Saturday and had to park about a mile away. It wasn’t a terrible distance, but it wasn’t ideal, especially when you’re hangry.

Restaurant Review: Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich & Fries During my visit, I ordered the Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich accompanied by a side of fries. While the meal was enjoyable, it lacked a standout element that would make it truly memorable. Food – 7/10 Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich – 6/10 The sandwich was well-prepared, featuring fresh cheese with a satisfying pull and a well-cooked egg that added a rich texture. However, I made the mistake of pressing down on it too quickly, preventing me from fully savoring its flavors. The bacon, while present, lacked seasoning and was barely noticeable within the sandwich. The highlight was the chicken itself, which had a pleasant maple syrup glaze that complemented its crispiness. Despite these positives, the sandwich didn’t have a “wow” factor—everything was good, but nothing was exceptional. Fries – 4/10 The fries, though served in a generous portion, were relatively small. They had a nice crispiness and were mildly seasoned, but their texture caused them to dissolve too quickly, making it difficult to fully appreciate their flavor. Service – 12/10 The service was truly outstanding. We were seated almost immediately due to the efficiency of the staff, who quickly cleaned and prepared tables despite the restaurant being packed. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive, engaging in friendly conversation and maintaining a great sense of humor. Their attentiveness and energy greatly enhanced the dining experience. Overall Impression While the food was solid but unremarkable, the outstanding service made the visit worthwhile. If the flavors were as impressive as the hospitality, this meal could have been exceptional. Side note I saw a really cool car and took a picture and edited it to look cool 😎

The hostess was not very nice, but the rest of the staff was amazing! Found this spot after a great hike! Food a bit pricey, but that's everywhere now. It's very tasty food, worth it. We sat outside, in the sidewalk table area, it was fine. Would go again if in the area. We got there early and missed the crowd. It was very busy as we left. Parking is in the residential area, just a heads up.

While Le jolle is not necessarily the place to go for food, this is the exception. We ended up getting a bloody marry and veggie benidict and both were great. In fact the bloody marry inspired us to start making them at home so we got the stuff for it right after. The benidict had a nice mix that even included a pistatio spread which worked well. The hash was probably the best hash I have had. A perfect ballance of crispy edges and tender insides. It all might be a bit pricy for breakfast but worth it. The atmosphere was nice but nothing crazy either. There was a decent amount of natural lighting and seating next to it which was nice. One of the small touches that I liked was the addition of a dog menu that they post on their front stand. The staff was friendly and had plenty of good recommendations. We lucked out on parking but It seems like normally pretty rough to find a spot. Overall a great place to grab breakfast.

Great place for Saturday breakfast with my husband and dog. We arrived close to 9 and were seated right away on the front patio. They had the heaters out so it was nice. My husband and I ordered the 2 eggs, toast, plus side plate. The crispy hash browns were really good with the perfect amount of crunch. Raspberry jam on sourdough was yummy. The cornmeal pancakes with blueberry and lemon were delicious! It was very moist and flavorful. A lot better than we expected. The best part of our meal was being able to order something for my sweet dog Izzy. She devoured the bacon and enjoyed the reverse osmosis water. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!

Visited July 8, 2025 - BREAKFAST My husband remembered this place from a visit years ago. He started it was a bit dated from when he originally visited. It happens. At least it was still open! He was pretty excited to bring us here! The initial sitting, which was indoors was a bit disappointing as we waited at least waited 5-10 min until someone came to greet us and take our drink order. However, upon observation I noticed one of our waitress was training another. But non of them clarified this. Anyway, after the initial negative, the rest of our breakfast service went smoothly. We had a basic breakfast: coffee, oj (fresh squeezed) pancakes, French toast, omelet with toast were all delicious and satisfying. Don’t miss eating here. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. The wait staff is friendly. Just make sure to get here early bc it seems to be a popular place!

I got the chilaquiles which were flavourful and delicious. My fiance got the Pistachio Veggie Benedict which she said was a little bland and she thought the hash browns were a little over cooked. We both got lattes which we enjoyed thoroughly. I think I liked my food more than she did but overall enjoyed our experience!
Michael L — Google review
Great spot for breakfast - friendly servers, beautiful ambiance and good food! I enjoyed their 'fresh squeezed orange juice' and 'roasted veggies and pistachio benedict'. Since there was no wait for indoor seating, we opted for it. Parking was a big hassle as it was a Saturday morning, but I found a spot after making a couple of rounds around the block just as someone had left.

Farmer's Bottega is a country-chic bar and eatery located in the charming Mission Hills neighborhood. The restaurant offers a farm-to-table dining experience with a menu featuring New American-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner made from locally sourced organic ingredients. The vintage decor creates a rustic ambiance, complete with reclaimed furnishings and dimly lit Edison bulbs. Guests can enjoy their meal in the cozy interior or on the relaxing patio.
We flew in from Florida and were immediately looking for lunch. This little cafe is so cute, the interior decor is very homey and soothing. The food was fantastic! I had meatloaf hash and my friend got the turkey club. Her sandwich was enormous. If we were locals this would be a regular spot for us.

We stopped in for brunch and had a really nice time! We were seated on the back patio, which is set up inside a charming little greenhouse. It was a bit chilly when we arrived, but they turned on the heat lamps, and it quickly became perfectly cozy. Our server, Gabriel, was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. For brunch, I usually lean more savory, but today a little sweetness was calling my name, so I decided to try the Monte Cristo. I’m glad I did—it was really good, with the perfect sweet and savory balance. That said, it was definitely on the rich side, and I could only make it through half. My husband ordered the Bottega Stack and thought it was good but fairly average overall. The menu features a lot of fresh, farm-to-table inspired options, and there are plenty of dishes we still want to try from both the brunch and dinner menus. Overall, it’s a cozy spot with a great atmosphere, friendly service, and a menu worth exploring—solid 4/5 and we’ll definitely be back!

Good brunch spot that has nice variety of options. I ended up getting the Meatloaf Breakfast Platter that came with toast and three eggs your way. Good flavor and liked the spinach mixed in the meatloaf. We were seated by the front near the window and it got a bit warm but other than that was a nice ambiance. Service was friendly and pretty standard.

They sat us down in a back patio which was very nice. The service was good. The food was also good I got the buttermilk pancakes. Nice and fluffy. The only thing was the prices. Of course this is California all the prices are high but for 3 pieces of bacon it was 10 dollars. Overall good just pricy.

A perfect meal in every way. My mother and I shared the artichokes and burrata prosciutto first courses which were beautifully presented, easily sharable and has wonderful flavors. Mom loved her Chicken Florentine and I adored the Duck Confit Gnocci. Our server, Max, gave us seamless service. I worked in restaurants in NYC for about 10 years and I have to say that Max was one of the best servers I’ve had in a while. I’ll definitely back.

This is my favourite restaurant in San Diego. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing patio—-all year round. We’ve been going for 3 years and have an amazing experience every time. I went during their happy hour and sat at the bar, so there was no wait. I had a mojito and the pork belly nachos. The pork belly brought nachos to a whole new level. The chips were made in house and stayed crispy the entire time I was eating them. The combination of flavours was perfection.

A good place for breakfast. The food was really good even though they got my order a bit wrong (guess they ran out of bacon or I was misheard). The food here was solid. A good breakfast spot. I would probably pass on the waffle next time. Not that I was bad, but the strawberry sauce tastes too artificial and it just doesn’t taste well with the real strawberries. They also served it with a syrup packet. However, the Enfrijoladas Loaded was a solid breakfast dish that I would definitely recommend.

This is a great spot for a delicious breakfast. They have both savory and sweet breakfast options. I opted for the special with strawberry French toast - amazing! Could have easily shared this between two folks! Such a big portion. Quick and friendly service and outdoor seating but right next to a street.

Great choice of breakfast for everyone! Trio the Pancakes were very good and more than enough for 1 person. The egg bacon sandwich with country potatoes was also delicious. You can‘t do anything wrong by trying this cute restaurant. Please note that the restaurant is located at the whiskey bar next to the store with the name „Lazy Hippo“ on it so don‘t get confused because they own both stores.

The menu has a good selection of delicious dishes! We were served breakfast on The Whiskey House outdoor patio which is on a quiet street. The wood picnic tables were comfortable and have large umbrellas for shade.
Charles W — Google review
It's open! It's the same spot as the Whiskey House! I know it's a bit confusing just go with it. The store fronts are right next from each other. First time here, super excited after seeing the reviews. The vegan menu is a bit small 3 items but the vegan enchiladas with soyrizo (+$2) is delicious! It's topped with fresh avocado, pick de Gallo and shredded lettuce. Put a few dabs of Cholula hot sauce and it's perfection. I cleared that plate so quick. I love vegetables on everything I eat, even if it's a side dish. I really liked the avocados on top and the shredded lettuce it added a fresh crisp crunch to the soft enchiladas. The soyrizo added that extra flavor. I would order that again. Might try the vegan breakfast burrito next. Indoor and outdoor seating available. It's inside the whiskey house so there is a bar and comfy couch seating area. Inside is very dark and chill. Loved the music it was on point that morning. Service, was good. A bit slow when it comes to the check. But they kept checking in on us and made sure we got everything we needed. Hostess was super accommodating we moved 3 times since it was cold. Will be back! Parking is paid metered street parking.
Mei L — Google review
Food was so-so and service was lacking. The hostess also serves as the busser so was understandably harried and annoyed. Wait staff was fine. This place is known for their fresh squeezed juices so I ordered the pineapple cucumber ginger concoction. Waiter said it would take a half hour to make it and if I wanted something now I could only get orange juice. So I got the orange juice, which was very good. I always prefer it when restaurants make their own veggie patties for veggie burgers instead of using Beyond or Impossible burgers so decided to try the house-made black bean burger. It wasn't horrible. A bit salty and the patty was burned and crunchy on the outer edges. The fries were hard and greasy on the outside and chalky on the inside. Recommend swapping them out for the breakfast potatoes, which I saw on the table next to me. They looked decent although I haven't tried them. The decor and atmosphere were pleasant. The menu has interesting things on it. Great ideas albeit not particularly well executed. A bit overpriced for what you get.

Excellent brunch spot in gaslamp, with everything you’d want - large portions, good food, extensive drink menu, etc. The only negative thing we experienced was a bit of a long wait for the food/drinks, and two of the beers we ordered were unavailable. However, the food was hot when it arrived, the service was still good, and we enjoyed our experience. Get their breakfast special!

Potato Shack Cafe is a laid-back eatery that offers a delightful selection of breakfast and lunch options, featuring jumbo pancakes and delectable baked potatoes in a relaxed setting with an outdoor patio. This charming cafe is beloved by both locals and tourists for its generous portions and mouthwatering potato-based dishes, such as loaded skillets and crispy hash browns. With its affordable prices and unlimited potatoes, it's no wonder that Potato Shack Cafe is popular among college students.
We were doing a local kids' running race and wanted to try something new in town. We love potatoes and really enjoy The Potato Shack's small-town feel. It was Saturday around 11 a.m., so as expected, the parking in the area was terrible. The eatery was busy, with a pretty good amount of tables outside, booths inside, and a short wait, nothing too bad. The service was a bit slow even after the crowd left, but the food was excellent. Eggs, potatoes, (the homemade salsa was really good), biscuits and gravy, yummy. Eggs Benedict for my wife and a plate-sized kids' chocolate pancake for my son. All were very good. The pancake had a nice crunch on the outside. The hot chocolate was really good, coffee was meah, typical diner coffee. They don't take cash, which was surprising but kind of cool for some odd reason. Haha. They do have a cash machine on-site and take Venmo. This reminds me of an old diner in the Midwest—older inside, cozy feeling with hearty comfort food and very large portions. We really liked it here. Check this place out with a big appetite, patience for parking, and some cash in hand.

Whelp, it has been a few years since I visited this place. Today was great, Shack was quiet. The staff were full of enthusiasm and had great menu recommendations. The potato patties were an awesome generous portion worthy of sharing. The manhole sized pancakes were full of fruit blueberries and bananas large enough for 3 people to share. The 2 eggs, potatoes, toast, and 4 slices of bacon was large enough for leftovers. Coach is a great conversationalist.

The salsa was to die for and they gave me a big containers to have chips and salsa on the beach! Can't wait to come back this will be a regular stop for us. Note: they are cash only but also venmo!

Loved this place. Hole in the wall kinda place. Handful of people running it so it can get a little busy. Food was good. Very filling since the portion sizes are huge. They serve food with salsa on the side which was delicious. Indoor & outdoor space. They take payment with cash & Venmo only. Would love to visit again

Service was good but the food was honestly sickening. I’ve never experienced Huevos rancheros like this in my life… canned sauce? Old sauce perhaps? It tasted like old spaghettios. They did not make us pay which was nice but I wouldn’t recommend this food to anyone with taste.

The pancakes are simply enormous. Feeds 3. The biscuits and gravy are vile. Way too much gravy, not enough sausage or biscuit. Everything else is decent. I ate the biscuits and gravy, hence my score of 2/5.

Nestled in a strip mall in east San Diego County, The Trails Eatery is a charming diner that has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This modern eatery offers an elevated take on classic diner fare, with an impressive selection of gluten-free brunch options that cater to various dietary needs. As you step inside, the inviting scents of sizzling bacon and freshly brewed coffee create an atmosphere that's hard to resist.
Best cinnamon roll pancakes I’ve ever had. Perfect amount of icing and the food came out SUPER fast. The staff was very inviting and I definitely recommend the mimosa kit. I will be back!!

5-Star Review The food is the standout reason for my 5-star rating—everything arrived quickly, hot, and full of flavor. Portions were generous, and it was clearly a popular spot when we visited on a busy Sunday morning. That said, I wasn’t a fan of the ordering system. You place and pay for your order at the counter before sitting, and you're prompted to tip while still standing in line, which felt a bit awkward. The décor also seemed a little worn and could use a refresh. While the overall experience wasn’t ideal, the food alone made it worth the visit. If they ever switch to at-table ordering with actual waitstaff, I’d happily return.

Exceptionally friendly staff. Very chill ambience. Outstanding food. Can’t recommend The Trails Eatery highly enough. Perfect place to refuel after Cowels Mountain. Shoot, even without the hike it’s still an ideal place to go for breakfast!

I went to the Trail Sat morning and saw a line in front- I thought hmm maybe I should go elsewhere rather than wait. But the young man in charge had such a beautiful and entertaining personality we decided to wait. We weee tgere maybe 15 min and we’re in! They took our order at the counter we got a clean table and before we knew it we were having and excellent delicious breakfast! So fast!! I loved it! The place runs like a friendly machine. They are fast and the place is clean and well run. I highly recommend this eatery. The food was soo good I will definitely be back!!! Everyone working there was wonderful and always checking on us.

omg … this place used to be good. They no longer try. For mushroom omelette, they use those awful canned mushrooms. Potatoes were burnt. I left my plate barely eaten. Very sad to see. Will not be back

Overall, it has one of the better Gluten free and extensive menus available Around San Diego, would come back purely for the gluten free items as they're top tier The other breakfast items were about average. Seasoned well and accordingly. I like paying ahead, and then sitting then getting your food, but it has a tipping option which I'm mixed with, I don't like tipping before I receive such said service, but this was just a personal opinion Food was Overall fresh and good tasting. Staff was friendly and kind, diligent.

Really chill atmosphere, service was attentive and the food was very good. We had the sun-dried tomatoes and mushroom omelet and carrot cake pancakes. Both were delicious!! Also, the bloody mary was spicy, the way we liked it. They also went out of their way to find mezcal to put in the bloody maria for us, Much appreciated!!

GREAT FOOD! Awesome service! It's a must-try at Adams Ave. The service is friendly and attentive, with very knowledgeable servers. The food was great tasted fresh & flavorful! They have a carrot cake that is so delicious unlike any I've had before. It has an orange compote on top ✨️just stellar! Our coffees and drinks were always refilled & their mimosas were made with so much attention. They were beautiful👍I had a sundried tomato omelette, it usually comes with a house-made toast but I opted out this time. The omelette was loaded!!We also had the pear salad one as it comes & another with bacon and chicken ✨️ SO FRESH & FLAVORFULFLAVORFUL

It was a good experience. The service was wonderful and overall we had a good time. I ordered the Pastrami Benedict, and would say the bread was great, and the eggs were great, but the pastrami was a big think and dry, so a substitute would make the dish essentially perfect, in my eyes.

hannas is only open on Sundays. It's such a great hidden gem that it's absolutely worth supporting our small businesses in North Park like Hannas. Hanna and her husband are themselves working the restaurant. There is always something new here at the same time maintaining there regular menu brunch is delicious and unique and her world tour meals focus on a certain country or place and creates a dish according to that cuisine and thats always going on and changing !truly a place to visit!each Sunday there is a special aside from the menu that is usually very unique & flavorful! Her prices are still very great & fresh quality food!

I really enjoyed my lunch here. The crew is very accommodating. The food is delicious, you can tell its quality and most likely made from scratch unlike chain restaurants or a lot of other places have gone down in quality but Hanna's gourmet is still very delicious quality food and service !! The drinks are made so pretty too & your water and coffee always refilled! absolutely recommend it! THEY ALSO HAVE TAKE HOME DINNERS!! AMAZING OPTION!!

Came here for a top notch Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. Morrocan eggs were perfectly easy and lamb had a nice warm cinnamon spice. Chicken pesto sandwich on fresh house baked focaccia was soft and sensational. Will be back for dinner soon!

Hannah's Gourmet in San Diego, California, deserves a solid 5 stars! Their vanilla lattes are superb, striking a perfect balance of coffee and vanilla. Restaurant
Gaslamp Breakfast Company is a casual eatery featuring hearty breakfast options and cocktails. It is situated in the Gaslamp Quarter, and outdoor seating has recently reopened.
Found this place on Google when searching for a gluten free breakfast. Our waiter was so friendly and greeted us immediately. I asked him for a recommendation on which gluten free waffle to get. He said that the best on the menu was the buttermilk cornmeal waffle but to top it with the gluten free fried chicken!! I took his recommendation and I’m so glad that I did! I haven’t had fried chicken since I had to go gluten free several years ago, and this was the best I’ve ever eaten!!! This place was so good that I had to have breakfast on our last day in town because I haven’t found any place this good in Phoenix. I will definitely be back!!!

The Breakfast Company was clearly a popular spot, even early in the morning. We showed up around 8 a.m. on a weekday and the place was already buzzing with people. The energy was great, but unfortunately the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype for us. The food itself was fine, but it took quite a while to come out, and when it finally did, some of the orders were mixed up. Drink service was just as slow particularly coffee, tea and juice took longer than expected, and by the time they arrived we were already halfway into breakfast. I can see why the place draws a crowd, and maybe we just caught them on an off day. We might give them another try down the road, but for our next trip to San Diego we’ll probably explore other breakfast spots first.

We went to SD for the weekend for the Padres and Dodgers series. Gaslamp Breakfast Company was walking distance from our hotel. Loved the atmosphere. The staff were so attentive and nice. The food was delicious. I had the Broiche Breakfast Sammie and my husband had the Steak and Egg. If we are ever back in SD we will definitely be going back to Gaslamp Breakfast Company.

The short version: excellent food, lovely atmosphere, and friendly service. Highly recommended. Longer version: We visited the Breakfast Company for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This was our first visit. We arrived at about 9am and the place was pretty packed. We sat at the counter, otherwise the wait would have been about 15 minutes. The drip coffee is delicious and smooth. My wife had a latte that had tumeric, ginger, and cinnamon. It smelled great. The food was hot and fresh. My wife, who ordered the Breakfast Flight, said that all the items on her flight were amazing. It was a ton of food, too. See the picture. The plate is as big as a skateboard. My American breakfast was very American. Huge portion. The star of the plate was the sweet breakfast sausage. They also offer a spicy sausage, which my neighbor on the bar are. He said it's great. He visits 3 or 4 times a week, so that should tell you something. On the table there is a sauce that is sort of like ketchup, but with a hint of spice. Delicious, and paired well with my breakfast potatoes. Highly recommended.

Vegan Benedict was fantastic! Our favorite though, was my Golden State Latte... could have drank 3. She had hot chocolate, and when asked if she wanted whipped cream... yes please. Yes... she is eating it with a fork. We ate outside so we could talk. Staff was very friendly and efficient for being very busy (20 min wait - worth it)!
Crystal S — Google review
The wait to be seated was fine, and we ordered our drinks right away a regular coffee for me and a "Wake Me Up" for my friend. Sadly, our drinks didn’t arrive until we were already halfway through our meal. My coffee was barely warm, the orange juice was room temperature, my friends wake me up was watered down and it felt like our server had forgotten about us. She never checked in, and when we were ready to leave, we waited around 10 minutes just trying to get her attention. Thankfully, another staff member helped us check out. The food was a mix of highs and lows. My chilaquiles were delicious the sauce was rich and full of flavor. On the other hand, my friend’s sandwich was soggy and, worse, had eggshells in it. Overall, the kitchen has potential, but the service and attention to detail need serious improvement.

Nice outdoor seating available. My shrimp and grits were awesome. I was worried when I saw it was sweet Asian sauce on it, but I fell in love at first bite. Glad I found this place my first morning in SD, I will definitely be going back.

Delicious food with an incredible atmosphere and service. We ordered the whippe ricotta, pickled potatoes, braised beef, and cavatelli. All were amazing and rich in flavor. We also enjoyed some lovely wine. We will be returning. They also brought out a birthday dessert for us celebrating my mother’s birthday!

The decor and the vibe of the restaurant is like out of a magazine, so cute, comfy and modern. It was really nice to sit indoors with an open air concept. There are gorgeous potted plants, wide sliders to let the fresh air and sunlight in. The presentation of the dishes were gorgeous and the ingredients used were very fresh. The food had great flavor but overall in terms of price to quantity ratio, it was rather disappointing. The eggs with toast dish (can't remember the name) was just not worth it. The chicken were ordered was tiny. Not nearly enough meat. We loved the ambiance, decor and service. If the portion size can be improved I will surely return regularly.

Great brunch at Waverly in Cardiff! Beautiful restaurant with a great relaxing vibe. Ocean view and a dog friendly patio. This isn't a restaurant I would normally go to just because it's outside of my normal comfort zone, but my CEO dropped me off after work and demanded I try it for dinner. Located in San Diego's Little Italy, Porto Vista Hotel offers contemporary accommodations with amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, hot breakfast, and airport shuttle service. The boutique hotel is just three miles west of the San Diego Zoo and features a rooftop pool and private valet parking. Guests can immerse themselves in the local culture by exploring the vibrant neighborhood and enjoying dining options within walking distance. Additionally, visitors can experience the lively Mercato farmers market on Saturdays and LGBT drinks on the rooftop every Friday night.
This hotel has the best staff that I have ever met. Everyone from checking in to the amazing rooftop bar was amazing. The views are stunning plus the food and drinks are delicious. D with the dreads is an exceptional bar tender and will definitely make sure that you are well taken care of. I felt comfortable and I'm looking forward to staying here again.

The location is perfect. A walkable distance to many bars and restaurants, to the trolley station and downtown. Little Italy is a great part of the city. During the weekend there's a nearby farmers market with great selection. The hotel itself is good, the room was quite clean, there's a TV (but not cable, only to stream from your accounts) and a fridge in the room. The rooms are maybe a little bit smaller and older but enough for a few nights. It definitely wasn't as bad as some reviews I read. Just be careful if you are coming by car, the parking was $55 per night.
Eva N — Google review
I am so impressed with this hotel. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are average but the staff is incredible and the location is great for little Italy. (And the pricing is very fair for the location!) The rooms are nice size, well equipped and clean. It is on the flight path to SAN so expect jet traffic noise. That being said, the staff here cares and it seems like much more than just an act. Matt, the night clerk at check in made us feel at home and welcome, and made sure we had a good room for our stay. (Giving us a little choice on our room location.. thanks Matt!) The housekeeping staff does a good job and even gave us a little extra time to check out with no hassle. There are signs of aging around the hotel, but they are actively fighting the effects of time. Fresh paint, new drain covers, sun shades in open areas, turf on what would be concrete ledges, and an overall attention to detail (especially on the little things,) shows that someone cares. Even the busy day desk staff was attentive and seemed to generally care about our overall visit to SD and Matt's recommendations were exactly what we wanted and on point. The Glass Door bar in the hotel was a great experience as well and gets a strong recommendation. I will make this our first choice for lodging in SD from now on.

I stayed in room 308. I am certain they have mold. I had severe breathing issues in the room. I was up all night and couldn't really sleep. Later in the morning when I was brushing my teeth I saw that the light fixture above the bathroom sink was unfinished. It was more or less an open hole in the wall with electric wiring coming out of it to power the light fixture. I am certain that the room has had this unfinished light fixture for years likely resulting in severe mold formation. I hope you all report any mold or even the possibility of mold. I have reported the issue to the city of San Diego and California EPA. The first room also had a messed up shower without an ability to adjust the height of the shower head. The second room 208 was better but there was a hair on the towels. I'm unfortunately bald at this point... And then the refrigerator was broken too. They changed the towels and the mini fridge right away so kudos to the maintenance man and the . I also am not happy with the valet attendants. The first night I had forgotten my headphones in my car and Daniel was kind enough to get my car despite me not wanting to bother him with something so small and petty. Daniel got my car but then rather then just busting a quick turn he drove around the block. No big deal except he jumped off the curb leaving the parking garage. I didn't say anything to him at the time but I later mentioned it to Clayton the manager on duty the next day. I had other issues with the valet when I wanted to tip the driver carlos for having brought up my car earlier when I was out of cash. But instead of him being at the valet stand, he was in his car likely sexting his girlfriend I saw him fawning over earlier in the evening. The final issue I had with the valet at the end of my stay. The other valet who's name* never caught, nor would I care to with his prizon sleeve tattoos. When I complained about something at the end as I was leaving after he brought up my car but kept the keys, the valet literally started to yell at me for my vad attitude. He literally wanted to get up in my face after I had put my walker away in my car and I was at my most vulnerable. The manager Clayton literally had to get in his way to stop him from coming up to me. I would recommend never ever staying at this horrible hotel. The hotel is 10 years overdue for a total rehab down to the studs. And even more overdue by homeboy's probation officer.
Christian G — Google review
Didn't get the room service I requested, but understandably it was during Comic Con. Understand people make tons of jokes about the size of the "Spool", but I'm not a size queen. In fact, I kind of like the smaller pool, really. The big ones scare me. I didn't hate my experience here, but I do think the pool would benefit from some shade umbrellas or general coverage. The front staff was extremely friendly and the valet staff were also excellent.
Nolan B — Google review
The rooms are outdated and have a musty odor. The pool is extremely small, almost nonexistent, and the rooftop area lacked lighting or any activity during my stay. The highlight of this hotel is the staff’s customer service. In particular, bartender D, with dreads, from the hotel restaurant, provided outstanding service—he was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. His hospitality alone would make me consider returning. The location is excellent; however, valet parking costs $55 per night for a small car, which feels quite expensive. Offering guest-preferred rates would be a great improvement.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at Portal Vista Hotel in Little Italy, San Diego. From the moment I arrived, Matthew and his supervisor Leann went far above and beyond their job expectations to ensure my stay was comfortable, welcoming, and truly memorable. Matthew’s kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care set the tone for my visit. He didn’t just provide excellent service. He created a space where I felt valued and at ease. Leann’s leadership and dedication were equally outstanding. She made sure every detail was taken care of and went out of her way to make me feel supported and included throughout my stay. What impressed me most about Portal Vista is the hotel’s commitment to inclusivity. I never once felt like I was out of place; instead, I felt embraced and celebrated exactly as I am. That level of authenticity and thoughtfulness is rare, and it transformed a simple hotel stay into something truly special. I highly recommend Portal Vista Hotel to anyone visiting San Diego — especially those looking for a space that values inclusivity and exceptional hospitality. Thanks to Matthew and Leann, this hotel has earned my highest praise and will be my first choice for future visits. Thank you so much!

The Whiskey House is a renowned restaurant and bar in San Diego, CA, offering an impressive selection of over 1,800 whiskeys. It holds the Guinness World Record for the most commercially available whiskeys globally. The menu features delicious food options such as burgers, sausages made in-house daily, and charcuterie boards. The establishment offers both indoor and outdoor seating and has a modern decor with a somber yet inviting atmosphere.
Another hidden gem. Great food, great drinks. Good service. Our server recommended a light smokey whiskey, which turned out to be perfect. They have walls of different whiskeys. We sat outside and people watched.
Honest T — Google review
Came in with high expectations, left with a $20 Old Fashioned and an eye-roll. Yes, the whiskey wall is jaw-dropping. It’s a collector’s dream, or maybe just an Instagram backdrop. But if you’re looking to actually enjoy a pour without feeling like you’re taking out a second mortgage — this ain’t it. The Pappy Van Winkle flight at $599? Get outta here. That’s not tasting — that’s theft. Plenty of places serve the same for a fraction of the price. You're paying for hype, not hospitality. Service was fine, drinks were okay, but the vibe felt more like a velvet-rope museum than a bar that respects whiskey drinkers. Verdict: Amazing selection, sure. But unless you're an oil baron or just really into price-flexing, this is more of a see-and-leave spot than a stay-and-savor one. Hard pass.
V S — Google review
Hands down one of the BEST whiskey spots I've ever been to. Very much a Speakeasy vibe and a selection of whiskey I've never seen before. Take time to explore new adventures. Definitely a must when in San Diego.

GREAT FOR WHISKY LOVERS!! We were staying in downtown and currently into Scotch... what a better place than Whisky House! We really enjoyed it here, we went 3 times total. First time we went on a Sunday towards the end of the Padres regular season game. It was a bit warm inside, no AC or we couldn't feel it. It wasn't too busy because the game was going on but got pretty busy after the game ended. We ordered the Japanese Tasting #2 and I got the Killkeran 12. The 2nd time around we made it for Happy Hour and we ordered the Scotch Egg and Kale Salad. Then we ordered 3 Scotchs: Kilchoman Loch Gorm, Bladnoch 10 and the Lagavulin Offerman Rum Cask. Everything was good but the Kilchoman Loch Gorm was really nice! Our last time we were literally 1 minute away from needing to sit outside but we snagged an inside table. This was on a Friday around 5 pm, super busy! For Happy Hour food we shared the Pork Chop (Marinated in Scotch, thyme, rosemary & garlic). usually served with fries but got salad instead. For Whisky we got the Mortlach 12, Ardmore Tradition and Strathisla 12. I really liked the Mortlach, super meaty! Overall always great service and would recommend any Whisky Lover to come here!

We ended up here after a show at the Rady Shell. They were open late (11) on a Sunday which was a plus. We ordered a couple cocktails that were well balanced and tasty as well as some food. 1) Vietnamese chicken wings - phenomenal, very limey and fish sauce forward. They were the highlight of the meal. I wish there was a dipping sauce. 2) Lamb burger - it had good flavor but wasn’t anything special. We were hungry so it was okay but I’d try something else next time. The fries were under cooked. 3) Scotch egg - very tasty. Well balanced and perfectly cooked with a gooey center. It comes with a nice mustard sauce for dipping. 4) Oaxacan firing squad - very tasty drink. For those that like lime and hibiscus it’s a great option. 5) whiskey sour - came with a nice cherry. Well balanced and nice presentation. We will be back :) more things to try. They have over 4500 whiskeys to try.

For me, it was great to be able to drink whiskey at the Whiskey House! There's a very good chance that they have what you want; they're guaranteed to have something you like. The service is great, the food is good, and the whiskey is plentiful. I was in town for Cisco Live 2025, and I was able to visit three times. I even purchased a long sleeve t-shirt b/c it's chilly in San Diego in June! They keep the place darker than I prefer, but I absolutely recommend that all whiskey connoisseurs make their way to this location.

Gravity Heights in Sorrento Valley offers a contemporary setting with natural light, making it the perfect spot for enjoying New American cuisine and brunch. The restaurant features an amazing outdoor patio with various seating options, including couches and tables, as well as firepits and an outdoor garden. One of their standout dishes is the specialty white pizza topped with whipped burrata, goat cheese, fontina, pecorino, truffle honey, thyme, and prosciutto.
Great place for drinks and elevated bar food. We usually do a group meetup for happy hour here. They have specials on drinks and food. Our server and the kitchen staff were great at getting our drinks and orders out quickly. Their prickly pear Margarita was so pretty and delicious. We ordered tuna salad appetizer and that was pretty good though I wish it came with normal less flavorful crackers rather than buttery Ritz crackers. We ordered pita bread with the hummus and we all really liked the naan-like pitas. The chicken wings were crunchy and the pepperoni pizza was a good size. The Carmel budino was a bit too runny and not like other thicker budinos I've had elsewhere. It was a bit disappointing. The cookie in the cast iron pan was so good! Order one if you like shift gooey chocolate chip cookies.

We went for brunch, and it was a great choice. All the food was very good, and while there was a mistake with my order the waitress was very quick to fix it and really nice about it. Would highly recommend the ricotta pistachio donut holes, and the make your own mimosa is an awesome deal - we got around 3 drinks each for four people from it (maybe 1-2 if you do a very heavy pour). The outside space is really nice, and the whole restaurant is very spacious, so it was probably one of the only places I've been that was genuinely easy to get around in a wheelchair - no fuss, struggle, or awkwardly tight spots. The doorways are also wide and easy to pass through. I'll definitely be going back!

Great selection of beer. We also ordered mimosas which had unique flavors (cinnamon was way better than I anticipated). I got the hot agave pizza (only vegan thig o the menu) but it was AMAZING, I'll be coming back just for that. Overall good place for happy hour, relaxed feel with some nicer offerings.

Tucked into the heart of San Diego’s laid-back coastal culture, Gravity Heights delivers a brunch experience that balances craft, comfort, and creativity—and it might just be your new go-to spot. 🍩 Pistachio & Orange Donut Holes – 5/5 These aren’t your average donut holes. Each bite-sized delight arrives with a satisfyingly crisp exterior that gives way to a warm, soft, and impossibly moist interior. The pistachio sugar adds a nutty, subtly sweet crunch that plays perfectly with the velvety Grand Marnier French cream—lightly boozy, citrusy, and decadently smooth. It’s a thoughtfully balanced dish that tastes as playful as it is elegant. Hands down, some of the best donut-style treats I’ve ever had. 🍗 Fried Chicken, Biscuit & Gravy – 5/5 This dish is a comfort food symphony. The fried chicken boasts an incredibly crispy coating with a juicy, tender center—moist and flavorful, not greasy. It’s a testament to how proper frying technique and seasoning can elevate a simple dish to something exceptional. Paired with a soft buttermilk biscuit, perfectly cooked eggs, and a sage-laced sausage gravy that, surprisingly, hits just the right portion mark, this plate manages richness without overwhelming. Every bite is layered and satisfying. 🍹 Mimosa – 5/5 A solid, refreshing brunch classic. The best part? It’s made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, which gives it a clean, natural flavor that sets it apart from the syrupy versions you sometimes get elsewhere. It’s simple, fresh, and just right for a sunny San Diego morning. 🍽 Atmosphere & Service – 5/5 The vibe at Gravity Heights is unmistakably San Diego: relaxed, modern, and unpretentious. It strikes the right balance between trendy and welcoming, without feeling like it’s trying too hard for the ‘Gram. Sitting at the bar gave a front-row view of the action, where the bartenders were impressively multitasking without ever compromising on attentiveness or friendliness. Food and drinks arrived promptly, and the entire experience felt smooth and well-paced. ✅ Final Verdict From the crisp-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside donut holes to the expertly fried chicken and sunny mimosa, Gravity Heights nails both flavor and vibe. This is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression—not just for the food, but for the full package. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to return to explore more of the menu. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

Loved the ambience and food at Gravity Heights! The place is quite refreshing and spacious. We tried the falafel burger, summer squash pizza (forgot the exact name, it's seasonal) and the Mac & cheese from kids menu. All dishes were delicious. This is indeed one of the best restaurants in Mira mesa / Sorrento valley neighborhoods.

Visited this for a work meetup and was pleasantly surprised with the location, aesthetics, prompt and attentive services and food!!!! The cauliflower and pizza were cooked to perfection & melted in mouth! Must recommended,Im gonna visit again!

Can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner. Hidden in Sorrento Valley, this spot has such a great vibe and awesome layout. Service was excellent, the vegan options were delicious, and I loved the fun mocktail menu. Definitely a new go-to.

We are from Arizona, and I will drive out to California just to eat here. So, not a big fan of avocado, and I tend to stay away from dishes with avocado in it; however I will eat the tuna tostadas all day long. They are so good we ordered a second plate before we even finished the first. Next up is the crab crusted halibut. Yes, you read that right, and it tastes better than it sounds! My 6 year old daughter, as most children are, not a fan of vegetables. She ate the broccolini instead of the macaroni and cheese. Are you convinced yet that Gravity Heights has...is there a better word than fantastic...food? Don't worry about where you need to eat, just head over for guaranteed delicious food and the friendliest service we have encountered! Thank you Sky!

The Patio on Lamont is a charming restaurant with a warm ambiance and an inviting outdoor patio. The menu features delectable New American small plates and drinks. Indulge in the delightful banana bread dessert, accompanied by peanut butter mousse, vanilla ice cream, bruleed banana, and foster sauce. Another must-try is the Bourbon Dutch Pancakes topped with caramelized bananas, apples, chantilly cream, berry compote, agave & maple syrup.
Excellent pet friendly spot. Great breakfast - we had French Toast and also the eggs bacon potato combo. Free coffee if you sign up for their mailing list online. Half price drinks if you bring your pup. Great cuisine & fantastic coffee and "Hair of the Dog" cocktail. Love all the plants, the decor & the ambiance - friendly service too!

I really enjoy this place! The atmosphere is very upbeat and inviting. As is their namesake, they have a nice outdoor patio enclosed by foliage, and also a roofed area with nicely spaced booths. The food is incredible! Everything on the menu is great, whether it be brunch, lunch, or dinner. It is however a little pricey, but definitely worth it!

We went to this restaurant because it was one of the few dog friendly restaurants in the area. The interior was very beautiful and the food was equally awesome. The staffs were very kind to our dog and offered treat and water. I would go there everytime I visit San Diego!
Brian P — Google review
We had a great time here. The service was terrific for our party of four. We sat outside where the atmosphere was not only comfortable, but very esthetically pleasing. The plant wall was super cool. All of our dishes were excellent and I will definitely be going back.

We love love love the patio on Lamont. Every time we come here we have a great time. Their food is very tasty and their menu changes just enough to keep it interesting. They have some very nice mixed drinks from their full bar. One of the things we love most about patio on Lamont is there dog friendly atmosphere. We don't have a dog of our own at the moment so we love coming here and sitting with all the pups enjoying themselves with their parents having a nice brunch. they also provide water bowls for your dogs which I think is awesome. So if you want a great brunch with great food and a great atmosphere patio on Lamont is a must-try

Definitely a place to eat where the ambiance will be enjoyed. The seating areas are both outdoor/indoor and a nice amount of seating at a fully stocked bar, as well. The service is excellent, and all the times I've been, the waitstaff have always been very friendly and attentive. The decor is a marriage between rustic-reclaimed and what feels like contemporary asian accents. Indoor fireplace and heaters ensures even those prone to the chill are nicely accommodated. Parking is what you would expect from that area, and while they used to offer valet service, I didn't see any attendants in my most recent visit, so call to verify. Otherwise, plan ahead and expect to take a leisurely stroll to get there after finding public parking, or Uber/Lyft there. I would suggest making reservations for parties larger than two people. Keep in mind, this is a very pet-friendly establishment, and I have seen some always very well behaved dogs and their owners present every time I've been there, so those with allergies should be cautious. Along with that, I have never seen pet hair built up or lying about, so they do a great job of keeping the dining areas clean. The food itself, is okay, nothing spectacular. Prices range from $11 and up for entrees. My party of 2 paid $45 and some change (not including tip) for the Short Rib Skillet and The Chorizo Skillet and soda. So I don't have high expectations foodwise. They do have handcrafted cocktails, making it an ideal place to meet a few friends for happy hour.

Food was good, atmosphere was decent. If you can avoid the hi top tables the chairs are pretty uncomfortable. This location is not as good as the mission hills location!!!

Once you pick up the cheeseburger, you finish the cheeseburger. Happiness ensues. Their brussels sprouts are a fine complement. Shout out to their fries. The folks at the Patio have the weekend brunch thing taken care of.

The Pony Room is an upscale restaurant located in Rancho Valencia, offering a sophisticated take on pub food along with a selection of cocktails, wine, tequila, and local craft beer. The restaurant provides a romantic setting for couples to enjoy dishes like bluefin tuna aguachile, housemade ravioli, red curry squash bisque, and herb-crusted Maine lobster tail. Save room for indulgent desserts such as truffles, lava cake, dipped strawberries, and fudge brownie.
We went here for brunch this past Saturday for my mom and my aunt's birthday. I cannot express how amazing our service was! Everyone who worked there was so hospitable and really accommodating and helping us that everything set up and have a really nice celebration. What I like about Pony room and never gets completely full, so they put us in a nice space near the window with a bench next to us where we could put all of our gifts and belongings. I should add there was nine of us! So fairly good size large party. Our server Alex was super tentative to make sure all of us had her water and drinks while waiting on food. We started off with chips and guac and cinnamon rolls. The food was better than I remembered! Definitely one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had, they are extra large so definitely order one to share with at least two other people. The chips for the guac were fresh crispy and perfectly salted. We all loved our food as well although we are running out of space from the appetizers. I ordered the prime rib dip, which I hardly made a dent in but took home in a box. Honestly, I love the pony room. It's such a nice, elegant, and tasteful vibe. The service is 10 out of 10, and so is the food! Great spot for a celebration or just simply coming for weekend brunch! Also valet is complimentary if you're dining at the pony room!

We stayed at the Rancho Valencia and ended up having most of our meals at the Pony Room. Having had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here— I can confidently say the food is high quality and super delicious. We’ll definitely be back!
Dalia S — Google review
It's like dining at your backyard! But much more than that! Serene, nature, peaceful yet elegant and classy. We went here to celebrate our son's birthday! It is also a hotel so in case you want to stay sometime. Kind of a higher price point though. But I think you get what you pay for. Just wonderful and beautiful surrounding. It is our first time here but it probably will be our regular place to go here in Escondido. We ordered steak, lamp chop, chicken lettuce wrap, lobster tacos. Everything were very delicious. Well, except for the lobster tacos which were so so. Probably can improve if the tortillas were hand made. Or maybe it is, but not something I'd recommend. Although you must order the bread that was bake to order. It is the focaccia. For $19 we thought it was all worth it. Parking was valet only. It is complementary if you dine in . I can't recommend this place enough!

Where do I begin? It’s a culinary experience. From your first bite of the Focaccia bread, it’s a precursor for what’s to come. Every bite is full of many flavors home grown just steps away in the resort’s garden. It’s truly a 10/10 experience that I’ve only found at this resort. I ordered the Rancho Burger. It was the perfect temp, the tomatoes were delectable, the cheese was rich, and the bun was soft and sweet. To top it all off, we ordered the Cookie skillet. It comes with thick whip cream that you can’t get anywhere else, and the skillet itself is a fantastic combination of a warm cookie with the caramel drizzle draped over the creamy scoop of vanilla ice cream that’s so good, it won’t leave your mouth. The ambiance and service is also sublime, it just feels right at home. They’re even accommodating for your furry friends with a bowl and a bed. The Kardashians could eat anywhere, but they still have chosen here. It’s in a league of its own

Absolutely wonderful Father’s Day brunch at The Pony Room. Every bite was phenomenal, but the cinnamon roll is a must-get.

If you're seeking a refined yet relaxed dining experience in San Diego, The Pony Room at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa is a must-visit. Nestled in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe, this upscale bistro offers a warm, hacienda-inspired ambiance that perfectly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. The menu features a delightful array of California Coastal cuisine, including standout dishes like the lobster sliders and slow-roasted top sirloin dip. For brunch enthusiasts, the weekend offerings are exceptional, with favorites such as the toasted quinoa salad and a variety of flatbreads. Complementing the food is an impressive selection of craft cocktails, an extensive tequila collection, and a curated wine list. Service is consistently attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely brunch on the terrace or a romantic dinner by the fire pit, The Pony Room provides a memorable setting for any occasion. While the atmosphere is sophisticated, the dress code remains resort casual, making it accessible for all guests. Valet parking is complimentary, adding to the convenience. In summary, The Pony Room offers a perfect blend of exquisite cuisine, exceptional service, and a picturesque setting, making it a standout choice for dining in the San Diego area.

Very nice place in Delmar, every time I go there I ordered their oatmeal, extremely tasteful and they’re steak and eggs are also great. I come here weekly or every other week. I highly recommended.

Our waiter Henry was an absolute pleasure! I usually start off with the food but he was exceptional. The atmosphere is old world gorgeous. The food is absolutely extraordinary, everything exceeded expectations with top quality and generous portions. An incredibly romantic experience as well.
