Windansea Beach is a renowned spot for surfers, boasting an iconic palm-covered surf shack. The coastal trails along the beach offer stunning sunset views, while the beach itself provides a prime location to witness the sun setting over the surf breaks and shacks. The cobalt waters and kelp beds create a picturesque backdrop, with rocky shorelines adding to its charm.
Windansea Beach in La Jolla is a true gem for those seeking a picturesque coastal experience. The well-maintained stairs provide easy access to the lower cliffs and rocks, making it convenient to explore the shoreline. Numerous benches are strategically placed, offering perfect spots to relax and take in the breathtaking ocean views. The area is also dog-friendly, providing ample space for a pleasant walk with your furry friend. Whether you're there to catch a stunning sunset or simply enjoy the serene environment, Windansea Beach delivers an exceptional experience.

Windansea Beach is the MOST beautiful little hidden gem! The giant rock structures make it supremely more unique than any other beach that I’ve visited. The shore area is fairly small allowing minimal people to gather there. There are several benches on the side walk to sit and overlook the ocean. The water crashes against the giant rock structures creating a beautiful and majestic scene. This place is really one of a kind and a must see beach.
Crystal — Google review
Such a beautiful hidden gem. The beach was pretty quiet when we visited. Beautiful waves and sunset.
Ilish F — Google review
Beautiful little beach. Mostly street parking. Water was pretty warm today, great for swimming and catching waves. No restrooms. Bring your portable potty and rinser.
Adi M — Google review
Was a nice beach to watch the ocean at sunset. Cloudy but still beautiful. I asked my gf to marry me there so I recommend the beach for a beautiful walk with your loved ones.
Edward S — Google review
Much more peaceful and quiet than the cove. Lots of surgery but hardly any people on the beach. So nice. No sea lions though. It's worth a visit and there's lots of stuff to do in the area. Sand is clean and pretty. 💙
Sadie S — Google review
Beautiful views with a family-friendly atmosphere. Plenty of benches to rest, fun people-watching, and big waves that make it even more enjoyable. We even saw a beach wedding.
The V — Google review
This is such a beautiful San Diego beach! One of my favorite things about this location is it has both sandy shore and some cliffs. It's perfect for a mix of beautiful landscape and makes for a stunning sunset spot. Parking is easy to find on the neighborhood streets. It's a large enough beach that even when it's crowded it doesn't feel packed. Such an amazing beach for photos or to just relax ☀️

Nature & Parks
Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, located in Point Loma, offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky with vibrant hues. The park spans 68 acres along the western shoreline of Point Loma peninsula and features dramatic cliff formations, caves, and a captivating intertidal area. Visitors can explore tide pools easily accessible via a staircase leading down to the beach.
Here is a park in San Diego that stretches about a mile or too long. It is known for its beautiful sunsets. With beaches that are surrounded by cliffs, this is a spot that gets filled up pretty quick. But if you want to catch some fantastic pictures I recommend go. This is just another beautiful spot in San Diego. Hope you enjoy the pics God bless

This is really a great place for morning and evening walks. The sunrise and sunset views fill you with peace and make you feel grateful to just stand there and watch. Walking here while listening to the birds and breathing in the fresh air makes you feel so good. There’s almost no parking problem since there’s a private lot and you can also easily park along the street. The only disappointment is the restrooms because they are quite dirty and obviously not cleaned well. I think the staff should be more attentive about this. Other than that, it’s a perfect spot to come with your loved ones or just enjoy some alone time in nature. The walking paths are safe and wide enough. People of all ages can spend time here and feel happy.
Uğurcan Ş — Google review
Sunset Cliffs is considered one of the best spots in San Diego to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. If you want to see a beautiful sunset, I highly recommend visiting here. The area also features incredibly unique coastal cliff formations, making it perfect for a seaside stroll or photography. 📷 During low tide, you can explore the tide pools and look for hermit crabs, small crabs, tiny fish, and more. It’s advisable to wear comfortable sports shoes, but if you plan to wade into the water, you may need to take them off. Parking is available along the street, but spaces are limited, so it’s best to arrive early. There used to be a circular pit here, but it has now been fully fenced off for safety reasons.
Momo Z — Google review
Always love going here, or to La Jolla shore. The views are amazing! People are generally friendly, parking isn't too bad given the area. My nephew loves coming here. Always a fun experience.
Carissa L — Google review
Well worth the walk along the cliffs for the sunset! Also some nice beaches if you're up for the hike down to them. Trail, park, beaches were clean & well maintained. Limited street parking and a couple small lots along the cliffs available. Poor cell service further into the park and down on the beaches so plan accordingly!
Lauren S — Google review
I absolutely love going to Sunset Cliffs in the San Diego, CA beach neighborhood area at the very west end of Interstate 8. Being at the ocean is so refreshing and overlooking from the Cliffs is a bonus. There are hidden beaches along the Cliffs and hidden trails and pathways down low near the water from just south of the pier for about 3/4 to 1 mile south. Scott 2 miles south of the pier is a preserve park that is great for a short hike and catch sunsets. Many couples come with their picnic and blankets to enjoy a romantic sunset of the Cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Parking can be difficult so just plan a few extra minutes to find and plan to walk a little from the street parking. For sunsets, better to arrive very early as many people come for that. Lastly, no restrooms but the preserve at the south end does have stinky out houses. Too bad the city hasn't added public test rooms.
Frank C — Google review
Great place! It has to be amazing when swell hits it there were some but I guess it gets big n must be amazing talking about the surf! For sunset, go throw a blanket and enjoy sunset watching the surfing, for me a must there’s great energy in this place I hope I will surf it one day too! There’s restrooms just kinda hidden
Carlos P — Google review
Gorgeous. The photos don't do it justice. There is parking available, but it may get full, so try to street park if you can. Make sure to wear good shoes if you plan to hike and visit during low tide if you want to visit the caves!

La Jolla Cove, located in the charming neighborhood of La Jolla, is a beloved destination for divers and beach enthusiasts. The area is home to the picturesque La Jolla Cove and the renowned La Jolla Underwater Park, which spans 6,000 acres of ocean floor and tidelands. This marine sanctuary is teeming with diverse sea life including seals, sea lions, Garibaldi fish, leopard sharks, and pelicans.
I love this place. So much enjoyed walking along the cave and watching people and seals. The weather was nice. The pathway, sea and yard is so clean.
Thunchanok S — Google review
Beautiful views. We started by the cave and walked over to the children's pool. Beautiful scenery and breezy air in the morning. By the time we left around 11 am it was very crowded, on a Friday morning.
Nay — Google review
Always an excellent choice even with the traffic getting in and out. Parking isn't impossible but it is a task. Patience is a virtue. The picture perfect views are worth enduring the smell of the seals and cormorants. Perfect for a romantic walk or jog, all the open space and air is priceless and the reason why Californian's pay an arm and a leg to live here. There are many boutique shops and restaurants that offer savory items. There are rows of hotels that provide excellent spots for weddings or special occasions. Been coming here for years. Actually got married at one of the rooftops. A special place that means much to me. Whenever I need a reality check, this is where I visit.
ARNEL D — Google review
La Jolla is a California dream—stunning ocean views, plenty of walking, and tons of spots for coffee, food, or dessert. Restrooms are right by the sea lions’ beach, and while parking can be tricky, nearby garages make it doable. Perfect for a day of exploring and soaking in the scenery!
Priscilla W — Google review
Pretty great place to see birds and sea lions with an epic backdrop (if you can get over the smell) I saw a Brant’s Cormorant there and many more birds I will put pictures of below. Definitely should check it out. The sea lions and birds are so abundant and it is such a unique seen. You can park anywhere or walk if you are staying in La Jolla. Enjoy the photographs.

La Jolla Cove is AMAZING!!! The coast trail is a fantastic place to take a nice walk. Plenty of benches to sit on and enjoy the view. Visit the La Jolla Cove park, The cave store and walk down inside the cave and it has a great view out to the ocean. Watch seals and sea lions play in the surf and have a seal arguments on the beach😆! I am serious you can hear the seals barking loudly at each other its quite funny. Visit the Childrens pool and the sea wall. There's so much to do and see!!!
Robert C — Google review
Sea lions, seals, oh my! I loved getting up close to our sea friends as they rested on the beach. They’re so cuddly with each other, but be prepared for stairs, smell, and sea lions barking. The view of the ocean is beautiful too.
The V — Google review
should be on the list if visiting sandieog. dream for surfers. they have tours that do surfing and snorkeling. rental equipments available too. parking is very limited and always busy. we had to stroll around for 15min to get parking spot on Wednesday morning, though we got free parking for 3hours. plan your visit either early morning or evening to watch sunrise/sunset as it's picturesque. unfortunately we realized this once we visited it.

Cabrillo National Monument is a captivating destination that beautifully intertwines history and nature. This site marks the arrival of European explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542, celebrating California's rich heritage. Perched at the southern tip of Point Loma, it offers breathtaking views of San Diego’s vibrant harbor and skyline, as well as the expansive Pacific Ocean. Visitors can explore the restored Old Point Loma Lighthouse, which serves as a museum showcasing artifacts from its former keeper's life.
This is a lovely national park. There are some excellent trails. One gives a good view of the San Diego harbour. The other takes you to the tidal pools and gives you a good view of the Pacific Ocean. It's worth hiking both of them, though it can get hot. The Visitor Centre has a good educational exhibit about the Spanish arrival in the area. There is also a separate building that tells some of the military history of the area (there are several military bases in the area). Both were very informative. All things considered, I really enjoyed my trip here.
Harry B — Google review
I went there for a company hiking event. Many of the people had not been to the monument in the past so we explored the museum, the vistas, the lighthouse, and all the trails we could. We didn’t get to hear any of the doses talk about the history, but we read a lot of the information inside the museum. The weather was perfect. It was in the low 70s and there was a good cloud cover for most of the time. The parking lot is very large and can accommodate any size vehicle. The area at the monument is very large also and can accommodate a good number of people. There’s accessible parking and good way finding signage to get to each of the destinations. Our favorite part was all the trail system that we did a trail run on. Being able to see the Bayside and the beach side of the point was a really special thing. The new trail that was installed that went down to the tide. Pools was really well laid out and was not that difficult. I encourage you to bring water and snacks to enjoy on the trail and then a lunch to enjoy after your time in the parking lot or on one of the many benches along the trailsor in the park area. Make sure to take advantage of all the different areas within the park.
Greg K — Google review
Incredible national park! Been here a few times even though I am not a local/Californian. Such variety to offer: great history, tidepools, great gift shop, junior ranger, lighthouse, and views of the city. Always great weather, with a nice breeze. Park film informational as well. You can often times see naval ships leaving nearby navy base as well. You will not be disappointed. Also of note is the nearby Rosecrans national cemetery. Amazing stuff there as well. The NP does require a fee, parking is plentiful, and bathrooms are great.
Jimmer W — Google review
this was the first trail i walked in the state of california so the experience was amazing! the trail was long and one stretch of downhill/uphill walking so good shoes and water are a necessity! The view is unmatched and each step brings a new angle of the natural beauty!
Mikayla S — Google review
Great location to soak in the pacific views and ocean breeze. You will need to go through a military installation to get here. Park rangers were super friendly and helpful. The ticket to get in is valid for 7 days. Walk in with a bike was $10.
Ali K — Google review
This place is beautiful!!! We couldn't find the tide pools even though we were in the tide pool area so maybe high tide idk? But the views are amazing , the people were super nice, the visitor shop is also super cute!! Alot of history here, and beautiful hiking trails. A must see! If you have a military ID and or your America The Beautiful pass it's free :)
Tara P — Google review
Absolutely stunning views of San Diego, the harbor and even Mexico. Watched jets take off. Friendly park rangers too. Unfortunately, during summer, the only times the tidal pool has a low enough tide is the extremely early low tide (4:30 am on this Aug day) and the park is closed at that time. The midday low tide was covering the tide pool by a few inches. If we came in October, we would definitely be able to see at midday. From La Jolla it was a 45 minute drive (11miles)and we paid $20 to get in.
Amy K — Google review
Went on a Sunday around noon, overcast day, and little breezy. The view from there is amazing. Even though there was no sunshine, the color of the ocean looked so beautiful. Excellent spot to see the city, and if you like airplanes, you can have a good time just watching them take off and landing. I didn't have the rim me but I wish I could have hiked on the trails. Definitely will do in another visit.

Ocean Beach Pier, located in Ocean Beach, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The pier offers stunning sunset views and opportunities to spot sea lions. Originally built for fishing, it has now become a bustling destination with a cafe and shops. Visitors can enjoy watching surfers at the beach breaks, observe fishermen casting their lines into the water, or explore tide pools during low tide.
Our visit to Ocean Beach Pier was fantastic! With public bathrooms and lifeguards on duty, we felt safe and comfortable. We were lucky to catch a surfing event—best eye candy of the day! 🏄‍♂️ The boardwalk is great for a bike ride or stroll, and we found public parking at a reasonable price. Next time, we'll bring our dog, as there were many well-behaved pups enjoying the boardwalk, some even sitting by their humans watching the surfers. It was a great way to end our weekend getaway. 🫶
Karen W — Google review
The pier is large and long, but you cannot walk down it and I don’t know why. There are stairs, so you can walk up to it from the beach. I bet when the pier was open, it was really cool to walk out there. So this left a lot for me to dream about as I sat on the beach, staring at the long pier and the only ones who were able to really enjoy it are the birds. What magic what it must’ve been like with families and kids and people on their first date walking out to the pier and enjoying the sunset, fishermen out there catching fish and being able to watch the surfers from above. Maybe someday it will open back up? Until then, it’s nice to use your imagination as you sit below it.

Ocean Beach is always a great destination to visit if you're from out of town. The pier is always a great place to go and visit. If you like people watching this, it is an excellent location for that. You can go out and watch the Surfers take on the big the big waves. Unfortunately, on this visit, the pier was closed due to some heavy storm activity that did some damage and was unsafe for public passage. There's plenty to see around Ocean Beach Pier. There's plenty of thrift shops, restaurants and activities to do around the pier. Not too far from the pier is dog beach if you have your Sidekick with you. Enjoy your day at the Ocean Beach pier. Cheers

Ocean Beach Pier is a San Diego icon with stunning views, cool ocean breezes, and a relaxed vibe. Though currently closed, it remains a beloved spot for sunsets, fishing, and memories. Its spirit still lives strong in the heart of the Ocean Beach community.

Today was a perfect day. It was a nice vool at 72*f. Came late in the day around 5. Watch the lifeguard and pick up all the cones. People flying kits. And yes crazy 🤪 and weird Californian lol. 😉 I brought my dad to enjoy OB ⛱️ Beach. Plenty of bathroom, restaurants and late night BBQ.
Katrina E — Google review
The pier itself is closed. You can only stand on the beginning portion. From this portion of the pier, there are stairs to go down to the beach. On the pier you can get some great photos and a nice view of the sunset. The pier is kind of gross. I often want to power wash it when I'm standing on it. You may encounter some homeless people and their dogs. The homeless population here is pretty pleasant. I only mention to warn those who may have some overwhelming guilt when in such company. If you walk down the stairs and turn to face the beach to your left, is a walkway path that ends at some rocks. I've enclosed some pictures. It's a beautiful scene. Lovely at sunset. Just know you're going to share that space with some weed smokers. If, after coming down the stairs and facing the beach, you go to your right, you're headed to the beach and the sidewalk area with vendors. The vendors are a hippie bunch, so it's crystals and some art that is mostly for sale. I've also enclosed some pictures. If you keep walking, there is a grass area to the right, and the beach, of course, is on your left. The sand at this portion of the beach is very packed. If you walk way down you'll encounter dog beach. Nice beach but had a hint of pee in the air.
T.d. A — Google review
Cool walk and experience. Tons of quaint homes and cottages along the street leading up to the pier entrance. It was not overly crowded when we went so it was a nice long stroll to get to the end and back. Some people were fishing but not paying too much attention to passersby so be careful not to walk past when they are casting their fishing lines out. Mid way down the pier there are a couple small shops and a cafe. Great views of the surfers, and a good way to experience the beach without getting in the sand or water.
Kenn I — Google review
Beautiful views when you walk along the pier. Lots of fishing. A lot of homeless people but they are very polite. They don't bother anyone. They were resting on a bench and minding their business or helpful with directions below pier out of the sun. Overrall very nice and no begging so you don't have to worry about that. Make sure you take a walk along the shoreline too. I watched the surfers take on waves. Parking is slim to none so go early or be patient to wait on an opening.

Perched atop the breathtaking coastal cliffs of La Jolla, the Torrey Pines Gliderport is a renowned destination for paragliding and hang gliding enthusiasts. Offering sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, rugged cliffs, and the Torrey Pines coastline, this site provides an exhilarating experience for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike. Visitors can take to the skies for tandem or solo flights, or simply soak in the stunning surroundings while enjoying refreshments at the on-site cafe.
Stunningl! It's a must whether you're visiting or living in California. It's still free to access this natural and stunningly beautiful area. There's a cafe/restaurant if you want to get a bite and relax or bring a picnic and beach chairs. Binoculars and CAMERAS. Sensible shoes as terrain is rough and slippery (if you want to walk around or hike) - I was terrified to see a few visitors in heels and clearly not prepared. Listen to the whoosh and watch the wonder of the hang gliders. Or, just soak in the peace of the scenery. Parking was plentiful, but I wasn't there on a weekend, nor was there any evidence of a special event. Enjoy this gorgeous area. Marvel.

World class para gliding and hand gliding center. Amazing scenic beauty of stiff uneven cliffs and beach. Restaurants and Bar are available. Nice tourist spot. Almost crowded during sun set time. Enjoyed sun set at this beautiful point

Surreal out of a movie. I used to surf here back in the day. It seems like nothing has changed same waves, same winds, same tourist curiosity. It is my Sunday mass session here today listening to the waves and feeling the cool wind breeze on my face. God is great. 🙏🏽💯🌈

Torrey Pines Gliderport in San Diego is a world-famous aviation site perched atop the scenic cliffs of La Jolla, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Known as one of the best coastal soaring locations in the world, it attracts hang gliders, paragliders, and remote-control model sailplane enthusiasts year-round. The site has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s, when aviation pioneers first tested gliders there. Today, visitors can watch colorful paragliders take off and glide effortlessly over the ocean or even take tandem flights with certified instructors. With its combination of adventure, history, and stunning coastal beauty, Torrey Pines Gliderport is a must-visit destination for thrill-seekers and sightseers alike.

Absolutely amazing experience! I was paired up with a very experienced and fun pilot, Alex. He made me feel completely comfortable and safe. But he did some tricks and let me take over for a few minutes as well. The view and the feeling of soaring with the birds is hard to describe. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Do call to check the winds or go early and sign up then hike around the area and come back when you see gliders going up. Brought my gopro and got great video. But they also will take pics of you. Tuesday and Thursday if you pay cash you get those free.

Great walking trails. Loved this. Also access to the beach via stairs. It's a long walk down. Beautiful homes on the cliffs. It's not a difficult hike up and down, but a lot of fun.

Sunset Point Park is a picturesque destination known for its breathtaking sunsets and serene ambiance. Visitors can enjoy the stunning views while lounging by beachside fire pits or having a picnic in the expansive grassy park. The sandy shoreline provides a secluded spot to witness the multi-colored light show of the sunset. Additionally, it offers easy access to nearby attractions, making it an ideal choice for those seeking both relaxation and lively San Diego experiences.
Beautiful place to walk with a spouse or loved one .or if your in the doghouse then walking alone is also a good option!

Sunset Point Park is on Mission Bay next to The Dana Hotel and SeaWorld San Diego. We visited this place on May 25, 2018, during our first San Diego trip. It’s a nice and relaxing place. There is a sandy shoreline here complete with fire pits for evening bonfires, but the sand and water are separated by a protective rock wall. This makes Sunset Point better for picnics and taking a walk instead of swimming and playing in the bay. There are picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms and a path for jogging or bike riding. Food is allowed on site but no glass containers. Alcohol is not permitted. Be sure to arrive very early on summer weekends as the parking lots tend to fill up quickly.

Mister A's is an elegant rooftop eatery in Bankers Hill, San Diego, offering breathtaking bay and skyline views. The recently renovated space features a 180-degree view of Downtown San Diego and includes an expanded bar, rooftop patio, and classic decor with sparkling chandeliers.
Exquisite ambiance doesn't even begin to describe the atmosphere and experience. This is a place near and dear to my heart. My dad used to wine & dine my mom here when they met and he used to take us here for family dinners. The views are spectacular, but still eclipsed by the quality of the food. Every morsel was cooked to perfection. The service was my favorite part of all. We were well taken care of and attended to by the kindest gentleman. He really made it a fun experience with his witty banter. Hope to be seated with him again.
Ifeanyi K — Google review
I’ve been to Mr. A’s more times than I can count—girls’ nights, romantic dinners with my husband, and most recently, a casual evening with my sister—and every single time it’s a flawless experience. The service is consistently top-notch, the food never disappoints, and the cocktails are always spot-on. The location and views are easily among the best in San Diego, which makes dining here feel special whether you’re celebrating or just indulging in a night out. On my latest visit, we shared the tuna “chips and dip,” the fig flatbread, and a round of dirty martinis—all delicious. In the past, I’ve enjoyed full dinners with steak and all the accompaniments, and the quality is always exceptional. Mr. A’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a San Diego institution and, in my opinion, one of the premier dining destinations in the city. I can’t wait to go back and try some of their seasonal happy hour specials.

Good, limited menu but something for everyone. Beautiful to watch the sunset and or watch planes landing from birds eye view. $40 corkage fee. One of the best cooked ribeyes but scallops were not the biggest or have the rich flavor.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is simply phenomenal. The service is always of the highest quality. I’ll let the view speak for itself in the pictures below. Over the years I’ve had so many memorable and happy dinners here with my parents, and more recently with my husband. This place is very special and is one of my all-time favorite restaurants.

Mister A's was 5 stars in every sense of the world. Evoking class and elegance the atmosphere was charming. The view of San Diego was one of kind. We'd talked about going for years but something always got in the way. Finally going it lived up to every expectation. We had the escargot, beef wellington, Duck, a side of truffle fries (which were delicious but we ended up taking home with us), pistachio cheesecake with Marion berry reduction, and a chocolate ganche. While everything was perfection, the cheese cake stole the show. The way the flavors and textures came together was next level. It was a great way to spend our anniversary. We're looking forward to going back!
Jennifer B — Google review
A bespoke experience! I came here only to watch a pianist perform on a Wednesday night. I ordered one drink, which, given the name and prestige of the venue, wasn't that much more than any other cocktail bar. I enjoyed every moment at this incredible bar, which felt modern but also like a blast from the past. The views were nice but to be honest, where I was seated, at the cocktail bar, slightly limited. The staff was uniformly friendly and welcoming. I made sure to wear a black button-down, and felt that this was actually an important thing to be aware of.

My most favorite place in SD! The view from Mister A is incredible! Food quality is good too! We really enjoyed our dinner tonight!
Amber T — Google review
We went to Mister A's for an anniversary dinner and it was a wonderful time! The views outside are lovely, and we were so impressed with the professional and friendly service. We enjoyed every dish, with our favorites being the Dubai chocolate baked Alaska, pork belly appetizer, and caviar tater tots. We also got the cheese plate, braised short ribs, lobster mac and cheese, brussels sprouts, and duck breast. While it's definitely not a cheap meal, we both thought that between the consistently tasty dishes, laidback atmosphere, and beautiful view, it was beyond worth it and made our anniversary dinner feel special.

Altitude Sky Lounge is a swanky outdoor club located atop the Gaslamp Marriott, offering stunning 360-degree views of San Diego. It stands 22 stories high, making it the tallest open-air rooftop bar in the area. Visitors can enjoy clear views of the city and even watch baseball games at Petco Park from this vantage point. As the sun sets, Altitude transforms into a vibrant nightlife spot with colorful lighting, modern fire pits, and music from a resident DJ.
Phenomenal roof top bar. Highly recommended. It’s an open air bar on the 22nd floor. If you are just going for drinks, the 6th and K parking garage is the cheapest parking and close too. Only $10 to park. Must cheaper than the Marriott. A good dinner recommendation is Sevillas Spanish (Spain) which is a block away.

This place is awesome to grab a cold beer and listen to that sweet sound of a bat crack for a home run. The view is stellar, plenty of places to look out over the edge and see the harbor, Coronado Island and Petco Park.

Beautiful view of downtown San Diego. Gorgeous fire pit as well. Probably my favorite rooftop top. Great service, fun and safe atmosphere. What I love is that even though it's an outdoor rooftop, no smoking and no vaping is allowed. You can also see Petco Park and there's 2 different views on both sides. DJ plays good music too depending on the night!:)
Jovahn T — Google review
Stunning rooftop bar. No cover charge! The bouncers at the entrance were friendly and explained the layout of the space which was really nice. We arrived around 9pm on a Saturday but the party music/crowd didn’t start until about 10:15pm. Lots of places to sit and stand with a counter around the rooftop edge to admire the views of the city. Drinks were pretty good but don’t expect anything super strong. Very clear view of the Padres stadium, convention center, and other well-known downtown buildings. Even saw some fireworks from the Rady Shell performance! Highly recommend stopping by for a drink and a beautiful view of the city from above.
Melia — Google review
Good view. Good cocktail. Nice fire pit. The drinks selection was smaller and differed from what was online, but overall a good place to grab a quick drink before dinner. The metal balustrade could be modernised to make it feel a little more luxury and a little less police custody toilet… but don’t let that distract or discourage you from grabbing a beer and taking in the evening skyline.
Matt J — Google review
Great views and atmosphere. The drinks were flowing, and there was plenty of seating room (if you could get it quickly enough). Thankfully, we were able to get seats before the rest filled.

This is the rooftop at the Marriot in downtown SD and I really enjoy it here. It was a view of Petco Park , looks a bit far but still. And the view of the harbor is always breathtaking, you can see everything! Going at night is even nicer ! They offer drinks and basic appetizers and burgers too. They also have a small fire you can feel warm next to at nights. Plan to look for parking as downtown can be a bit tough. This place is a go to for me

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, located within the city limits of San Diego, is a breathtaking 2,000-acre coastal wilderness. It offers a diverse landscape with rare Torrey pine trees, chaparral plant communities, untouched beaches, and protected tidal zones. The reserve is perfect for hiking and wildlife enthusiasts who can explore oceanside trails while spotting occasional dolphins or bobcats.
Came to Torrey Pines with friends for an easy, scenic hike — and it was absolutely worth it. The trails are well-maintained and manageable, making it a great spot for all fitness levels. The ocean views along the cliffs are stunning, and the overall scenery is incredibly picturesque. Whether you’re looking to get some fresh air, take in coastal views, or snap a few great photos, Torrey Pines delivers. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and want a peaceful outdoor experience without a strenuous trek. Pro tip: For an easier hike, find parking at the top of the hill.

This hike was amazing! 🌊 The entry fee was $20, and we drove all the way up to the top parking lot to start the West Overlook Trail (about 3 miles). The beginning was mostly downhill with incredible ocean views and cool lookout spots. The way back is uphill, so it’s definitely a workout—but worth it. I highly recommend wearing good shoes and bringing plenty of water, especially if you’re hiking midday.

Breathtakingly beautiful and serene! The mountains on one side and the ocean on the other side makes it even more scenic. So many beautiful trails leading to the peaks where you can watch the sunset or sunrise in the most spectacular views. I loved going here and will come back again and again! Hands down 5 star!
Bushra N — Google review
Came here on a Friday afternoon late September. $20 day use fee. Did my hikes from the parking lot across the road from the visitor center. Good amount of parking. I could see it being an issue on really busy days. Porta potties there with hand washing stations. Pretty clean porta potties that didnt smell too bad. Decently warm day but there was a breeze most of the time making it pleasant most of the time. Hiked to Red Butte, Razor Point, Yuma Overlook, and the beach. Took a bit more than an hour including meditation and picture time. Downhill mostly to beach then back uphill to parking lot. Mostly gentle. Nothing too crazy. I am a middle aged guy that sits at a computer working everyday for most of the day and have some mild asthma and still did just fine. Amazing stuff. Although there were plenty of people there, there were still quiet times to enjoy the ambiance and sounds and meditate. Scenery is unreal, and the trails are well marked. Pictures I attach do speak a thousand words and display the incredible scenery. Got my beloved souvenir patch and postcards at the VC, which has no bathrooms or water for water bottle. Highly recommended. I posted lots of pics because this place deserves it.

Torrey pines has many trails to hike and even run! Some trails have a lot of sage and smell great. We really enjoyed the beach -- it was not super crowded (during weekdays). The only problem is the traffic out, especially during rush hours. The State Park entrance and parking is $15 and there is plenty of space. There is also free parking before the entrance but it is almost always fully packed. If you arrive early, you might be lucky.

Belmont Park, located on Mission Bay in San Diego, is a historic amusement park dating back to 1925. It offers a mix of vintage games, gift shops, and thrilling rides right next to the beach. The park's iconic Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster provides breathtaking views of the San Diego skyline and surrounding mountains. Additionally, visitors can enjoy attractions like zipline courses and carousels.
Wow what can I say if you haven't been to Belmont park you need to go. This little amusement park is right off of the beach. It is free to get in, but if you are going to get on the rides all of them I suggest get a wristband. If not a lot of the rides are like seven tickets and up. Each ticket costs a dollar. There are clothing stores here as well as gift shops. Has a lot of concession stands with amazing food. They also have this area called The Plunge or something where it's an indoor pool for the kids where the parents can work out at top. And the price is very reasonable and decent. There is also an arcade here as well as a little Carnival booths. And if you get bored here it's just a hop skip and jump away from the beach you walk to the back and there you go. Like I said if you haven't been here to Belmont in San Diego, it's a must your kids will love it. Here are some pictures from this park. Hope you enjoy, God bless you all.

Belmont Park Dipper Dash 5K: The Most Fun 5K Ever! I had the pleasure of completing the Dipper Dash 5K, and it truly was the best and most fun 5K ever! What a fantastic way to celebrate Belmont Park's 100th anniversary. The course was incredibly unique, running through the park and around the iconic Giant Dipper roller coaster, plus a great section along the beach. It had a fantastic, energetic atmosphere right from the start. The post-race recovery was top-notch with treats like chocolate milk and a pizza port popup 😋! I highly recommend this race for a unique San Diego event that perfectly mixes fitness with classic amusement park fun.

Great historic beachfront amusement park right by mission beach that’s fun for all ages. The wooden coaster was very fun to ride, and exceeded expectations. The gyroscope/swinging ride was also a blast but would recommend not doing it on a full stomach nor if you get queasy easily. Also keep valuables in lockers or have somebody hold it while you ride because I saw someone’s phone drop from a ride and into a crack only accessible by the maintenance crew which took a while for them to get to. Miraculously phone was okay due to its case but don’t try your luck. Lots of things to do and parking was abundant.

Don't come on the weekends! Belmont park shares same parking spot as mission beach and parking spot is hard to come by. Closing doesn't match what online say because google said it closed 7pm on the weekend but when I ask the people that work there. they said they closed 11 pm and happy hour deals on food starts 8pm and that's were night club people comes flocking in. Wouldn't recommend to buy souvenirs here, there much better deals on mission beach strip. Restroom are clean and well kept. So much activities and so busy!

Ellen Browning Scripps Park, located in downtown La Jolla, is a beloved green space along the coast that offers stunning panoramic ocean views. Named after a prominent member of the Scripps family, the park provides ample room for picnics and leisurely strolls along scenic walkways. It overlooks popular beaches such as La Jolla Cove and Children's Pool, which are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.
Saw some baby seagulls! They were SO CUTE and FLUFFY!!! Sea lions were a CA sight to see as usual! Saw an interesting tree as well! If anyone knows what it is please let me know 🤣 Baby Seagulls are the 2 last images. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Not too long of a wait either!

The panoramic views here are absolutely breathtaking. Getting to see the sea lions that were literally everywhere, however stinky they may be, were still so beautiful & amazing. The park has an area where people were swimming in a cove with some of the prettiest blue/green water and even sea lions were swimming right with everyone, very close I might add! The walk thru the park was clean and very nice views.

Ellen Browning Scripps Park is such a peaceful and scenic spot by the ocean. The views are stunning, and you can often see sea lions resting nearby. It’s clean, relaxing, and perfect for families or couples to enjoy the view. My niece loves to come here so much.

Ellen Browning Scripps Park in San Diego is a beautiful coastal park located along the shores of La Jolla, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Named after philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps, who contributed greatly to the city’s development, the park is known for its sweeping ocean views, grassy lawns, and vibrant marine life visible from the nearby cliffs. Visitors often gather here to watch sea lions at the famous La Jolla Cove, enjoy picnics, or simply relax under the shade of tall palm trees. With its combination of natural beauty, walking paths, and proximity to beaches and tide pools, Ellen Browning Scripps Park is one of San Diego’s most scenic and beloved seaside spots.

This San Diego park at the beach offers a truly stunning backdrop for a marriage proposal. With scenic pathways, beautiful landscaping, and sweeping ocean views, it’s a location that guarantees beautiful and timeless memories. I've had the pleasure of capturing many special moments here, including a proposal for a well-known quarterback. If you're planning to pop the question in this perfect spot!

Definitely a must see if you are in the San Diego area! I was not expecting to see the sea lions out playing around, but it was a nice surprise! The water is very clear for snorkeling or other water activities. The park is nice even though there are larger groups of people. I would definitely recommend for a thing to see around San Diego.

Absolutely beautiful park right by the ocean. Perfect place to walk, relax, or just enjoy the views of the cliffs and water. Great spot for families, couples, or even a solo stroll. The area is clean, peaceful, and has some of the best scenery in La Jolla. A must-visit if you’re nearby!

Nestled in the San Pasqual Valley near Escondido, Cordiano Winery is a charming family-owned vineyard and winery. The winery boasts a picturesque outdoor dining area with stunning views of the surrounding valleys. The Cordiano family, originally from Calabria, Italy, fulfilled their dream of producing Italian-style wines when they converted their avocado farm into a vineyard in the 1990s.
Views are amazing at this winery if you get a table near the mountains. We made a reservation for 2 people at 4 pm and it wasn’t too busy. Around 6:30 pm, it got so crowded! Lots of people bring their kids and dogs. We got the wine flight for $25. The wine was pretty flat. I still give it 5 stars because the food, views, and service was great. Could have more air fresheners in the bathroom. Overall great experience.
CHRISTIANNE J — Google review
This is my first time visiting this winery. It's located in a spot with a great view. I think the best time to come is probably at dusk. The food seems to be mainly pasta and pizza. The pizza was very delicious.
Hitoshi K — Google review
Overall, a fantastic experience from the nice, fun drive up the hill to the beautiful grounds and view to the very good service, food, and beverages. They have a wide range of wines made from local grapes as well as some from other regions. I'm not a wine expert as they pretty much all taste good to me! My only wine criticism is the $25 price for a sampler totalling only 8 oz of wine. I think they'd generate more bottle sales by reducing that price and/or adding more samples. The food, which you order at the beverage counter for delivery to your numbered table, was very good: Meatball appetizer: three big balls in tomato sauce with a delicious whipped ricotta and lightly toasted crostini bread. Minor criticisms are that the meatballs, which are clearly a blend of beef and pork, have too much of a pork flavor and are a bit too dense for me. Also, I don't know which brand of canned tomatoes they use, but it doesn't have a great, rich tomato + spices flavor. They should be using one of the Stanislaus brands like Alta Cucina, 7/11 Ground, or Tomato Magic. Calamari appetizer: a medium-sized plate of large and reasonably tender rings with a few tentacles. Minor criticisms are that they could have been left in the fryer a bit longer and served with tartar sauce in addition to the marinara. Pizza: very good crust with a golden bottom and cornicione with tasty toppings. They claim it's New York style, but IMO it's really not. New York style has a thinner, more chewy crust while this is lighter and more bread-like, but not too thick. I don't know how long they ferment the dough, but it could use more flavor. While the topping were very tasty and generous on the Stagioni version, they were a bit too sparse on the Meat version. On both, the tomato sauce was barely noticeable. They need to add a little more and use one of the brands mentioned above to take their pizza up a level.

It's our first time here at Cordiano winery and the place was so beautiful! The drive up to the to winery is also so refreshing and makes you feel you are headed to a countryside. I recommend a reservation to get a table with a view. You would need to walk over to the bar counter to place your food order. We tried the breadsticks with a garlic flavor, the best we have had in San Diego. The basil pesto pasta was equally good. The vegetarian pizza was ordinary, Tiramisu was a nice finish to wrap up a beautiful evening with incredible sunsets. Overall, the food was great and the views make it worth the visit.

We visited on Thursday and enjoyed the food, the service, and the wine. The staff was attentive and provided great recommendations for food and wine. The views were nice, and there was a lot of room between the tables, so we could enjoy ourselves. I drank the Tempranillo - Estate wine, and it was great. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese, which was good, but my mother had the Penne Basil Pesto, and it was amazing! And to finish the meal, we had delicious tiramisu. We definitely plan on returning.

1st time visiting the place, I must say it has super views, plus enjoyable relaxing music, and great food! Not a normal restaurant, they seat you issued menu and ur must go to the bar to order drinks and food. This place is busy but, we got lucky but a reservation is suggested to get a view table. Bottles of wine some somewhat pricey compared to other places.

⭐️⭐️ The Fourth of July fireworks at Centennial Park were absolutely stunning! The show was vibrant, well-timed, and lasted around 20 minutes with a breathtaking grand finale. The atmosphere was fun and family-friendly. Kids have a good time together Though parking was a bit crowded, so I will suggest go early or carpooling will be the best option. The overall experience was smooth and memorable. A fantastic way to celebrate—highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hotel del Coronado is a grand beachfront hotel that offers a luxurious experience with its spa, fitness center, and outdoor pools. The elegant Victorian-era rooms feature vaulted ceilings and chandeliers, making for a charming stay. One of the highlights is the Crown Room Brunch, which is a popular Sunday spot offering a lavish feast including seafood, prime meats, organic vegetables, internationally inspired dishes, and a full-service bar.
We have stayed at the Hotel Del. The room was okay, but this trip we went with a group for dinner, and the experience was outstanding! The location, the facility, the service were all 5 star! The facility itself is both beautiful and historic. Views are outstanding, especially at sunset. They're were 17 people in our group, and our server was wonderful! She accommodated multiple checks, and all the different people and orders with grace and humor. If course, we times our arrival to also include the always great sunset

The hotel's stunning architecture and beachfront location creates an enchanting experience for everyone. Everything about this hotel gives you a sense of authenticity, old-world charm, and a sense of royalty. It is rich with history and a place worthy of exploring. We celebrated my daughter's fourth birthday there, and she felt like a princess, referring to the hotel as her castle. The hotel staff was exceptionally wonderful, and while we utilized valet parking due to the hotel's popularity, we were treated with great care. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, particularly for those seeking a family-friendly mini-vacation; it is an excellent choice and one we will definitely consider again!

Husband and I have lived our whole life’s in SD. That being said we are super disappointed in the experience today. He have a 27 year old friend in town from the Netherlands visiting so took him to enjoy the crown jewel of the city. Sat for a cocktail at the bar by the up coming ice rink. Our friend left his ID in the car, fine, went to retrieve it and came back to show his ID. Well the bartender took id and wanted to show the manager. When he came back they wanted a passport.never before have I heard that. And did ask for it at first. So because he didn’t have his physical passport he couldn’t sit at the bar. He had a valid id from the Netherlands shows he’s 27. Side note the lady next to us got her drink just telling the bartender she was 42 no id we over heard. We quickly finish our two drinks for 62 dollars as our friend stood back from the bar because he couldn’t sit there and left. Suuuuper disappointed to say the lease. And the bartender had more stains on his shirt than the towel he was using to wipe the counter. Way to go hotel manager.

Hotel del Coronado is rich in history, with beautifully crafted woodworking and architecture. There’s truly no other hotel like it, and we always enjoy our stays here. The newly completed renovation preserves many elements of the original buildings—such as stained glass windows and a recently uncovered mural—while updating the guest rooms. During our week-long visit, here are a few takeaways: • We were surprised to find there’s no in-room dining service. All service questions are handled by texting the main desk. • On the upside, there are several excellent restaurants on-site. If you enjoy fine dining, I highly recommend Nobu, offering exceptional contemporary Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine and outstanding service. • Be sure to research your room options in advance to ensure you have the features and view you want—there’s a wide variety to choose from. • The hotel is located near a military base, so you may occasionally hear jets or boats. • Guests can enjoy the main swimming pool and the hotel’s stunning oceanfront beach. • The spa is excellent and includes access to a fitness room and private spa pool. • Take time to explore the hotel’s history and visit its small museum to deepen your experience. The staff are happy to share stories about the ghost of Kate Morgan, and tours of her room (502) may be available. • Don’t miss the Crown Room, known for its grand Victorian architecture and crown-shaped chandeliers. Years ago, brunch was served in this elegant space—today it’s used for private events. I wish it were more accessible to guests.

Great location! The beach and setting are absolutely stunning and that is 100% what you are paying for. The room, amenities, and service are quite bad. In terms of service you will experience long waits and sometimes quite rude and unhelpful staff, the rooms are very very basic (worse than a Hilton garden Inn) with only the absolute essentials and none of the small touches you would experience at a luxury resort, and the whole resort is quite hard to get around with multiple layers and sections cordoned off per stay type/ room rate, so it is quite cumbersome to navigate and enjoy. Everything is extra and everything is an absolute rip off (e.g. the deck chairs and umbrellas at the beach are all extra). A 9oz glass of rose at the bar $32. The pool was very very busy and filled with kids and I can't imagine it being enjoyable in the summer. There were multiple events all day everyday so sometimes you have to walk through a conference or a wedding in a courtyard to get to your room which is a little awkward. My room had a leak in the roof making it quite hard to sleep and generally speaking the quality just isn't there for the amount you are paying. Prepare to be fleeced! On the upside the hotel is in walking distance to many wonderful shops and restaurants, the beach boardwalk is beautiful and all the restaurants on the hotel grounds have fantastic views. The rooms are generally quiet.

Hotel del Coronado is an absolute masterpiece! I’m completely thrilled with my stay at this legendary hotel. The Victorian-style architecture is breathtaking from the first glance, and the beach right at the doorstep makes it the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the service is top-notch—staff are attentive and friendly, and the food at the restaurants is simply divine. The pools, spa, and ocean views create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort. If you’re looking for a place where history meets modern comfort, this is it! 5 stars out of 5, I’ll definitely be back! Here are three interesting facts about the hotel: 1. The hotel was built in 1888 and was considered the largest resort hotel in the world at the time of its opening. 2. It was the first hotel to be fully illuminated with electricity. 3. The famous film "Some Like It Hot" starring Marilyn Monroe was filmed here. Additional note: The hotel underwent a restoration in 2021, costing over $550 million.

The summit provides an elevated vantage point for visitors to enjoy breathtaking sunsets that cast a golden glow over the city and ocean. The memorial site also allows families of U.S. veterans to purchase plaques in honor of their loved ones, with tax-deductible options available.
I caught it on a not so clear day in APR. But I'm sure it's stunning at night/dusk/dawn when it's clear! It is a memorial, so I do wish people were a bit more respectful and quiet 🤫

Since moving to San Diego, my family and I have been slowly exploring the city’s hidden gems, and one of our recent drives took us up to a hilltop memorial overlooking La Jolla and Mission Bay. The moment we arrived, we were struck by the significance of the site. At the center stands a towering cross, surrounded by engraved plaques honoring soldiers from every branch of service—a moving tribute that makes you pause and reflect. Even though the clouds rolled in and blocked much of the view that day, we still caught glimpses of the coastline and city below. On a clear day, I can only imagine how breathtaking the panorama must be. Cloud coverage aside, it was a memorable stop—blending both history and scenery in a way that makes you feel connected to the city on a deeper level.

Swami's Beach, located in Encinitas next to the Self-Realization Fellowship Temple, is a beloved spot for surfers and beachgoers. Despite its popularity, the beach often remains uncrowded. At low tide, visitors can explore the tide pools just north of the stairway. The area near the large tiki statue is a hub for local hoopers, dancers, and musicians showcasing their talents.
During my recent visit to Swami's Beach in Encinitas, I was captivated by its unique blend of natural beauty and vibrant surf culture. Descending the staircase from the bluff-top park, I was greeted by panoramic ocean views and the rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the shore. The beach is renowned for its consistent right point break, making it a haven for surfers. I spent hours watching them skillfully navigate the waves, their silhouettes framed against the horizon. Even as a non-surfer, the energy and passion were palpable and infectious. Beyond the surf, Swami's offers a serene environment for relaxation. The adjacent Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens provide a peaceful retreat, with lush greenery and koi ponds overlooking the ocean. It's a perfect spot to reflect and soak in the tranquil ambiance. The community atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy the beach, share stories, and bask in the California sun. Whether you're there to surf, meditate, or simply unwind, Swami's Beach offers an experience that resonates long after you've left.

This is our favorite beach in Encinitas. We like it because it's small and romantic at sunset. There are a lot of surfers here and it's fun to watch them. The Easter Island statues are cool and the view from the parking area overlooking the beach is amazing. The steps down to the beach are steep but the view of the reef break is worth it. The sand on the beach is firm so it's nice to walk on. Depending on the tide you can walk to the Boneyard for more cool views. The parking area and facilities are always maintained and very clean every time we come here to walk. It's a small parking area, but there is plenty of parking in the street area with a scenic walk. If you're here in Encinitas just visiting, you should definitely make this a stop.

Lovely little getaway beach. Visited on a Wednesday around noon and although the parking lot was full (and small) there were a lot of parking spots available on the street. Free and no time limit. The staircase down to the beach is long, but lots of surfers and people of all ages get up and down just fine. A blanket of clouds lasted a few hours before the sun finally came out around 2:30pm. Pretty seashells are found along the coastline but there are signs prohibiting the removal of shells or sea creatures from the beach. Heard there were tide pools but we arrived too late in the day to see them. Compared to other SD beaches I’ve visited, Swami’s wasn’t nearly as crowded. We had such a calm, peaceful beach day! Even spotted some dolphins and seals in the water. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintainer which was nice. Lots of good food spots nearby too. Highly recommend checking it out!

Swami's Beach is so nice anytime of year! Small parking lot but plenty of street parking. Take the stairs down to the beach when the tide is low. There are some nice tide pools along the cliffs that are full of sea creatures. There are restrooms here and you don't have to pay to park.

One of the wonderful places in San Diego, really beautiful and I strongly recommend visiting this place, you will have a great view to the ocean over there, you can see pelicans that are on the Cliff, you can stop by the Cliff and watch those lovely birds and take wonderful photos, also there are good restaurants around the corner that have breath taking views to the ocean and cliffs. It’s more than just a park; it's a breathtaking escape that combines stunning architecture, lush gardens, and phenomenal museums into one unforgettable experience. You could easily spend an entire day—or an entire week—and still not see everything. We spent our day strolling along the Prado, captivated by the ornate Spanish Colonial architecture that transports you back in time. The gardens are a sensory delight, from the serene Japanese Friendship Garden to the vibrant blooms in the Rose Garden. The Botanical Building is a must-see, with its towering wood lath structure and beautiful koi pond. The best part? So much of this beauty is completely free to enjoy. For museum lovers, the options are endless. We visited the San Diego Museum of Art and were thoroughly impressed with the collection, but you could just as easily lose yourself in the Fleet Science Center or the Museum of Us. The options mean there's something for every interest and every age. Now, for those complaining about parking: 😡stop being lazy and get there early like everyone else. We arrived around 9 a.m. and found a great spot in the free Inspiration Point lot with no hassle. If you're not an early riser, there's a free tram service that will get you where you need to go. The park is massive, and a little planning goes a long way. Don't let your own poor planning diminish this incredible experience for others with a one star review😡😤. In short, Balboa Park is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is vibrant and inspiring, the grounds are immaculate, and the variety of things to do is unmatched. This is a five star experience from start to finish, and we can’t wait to go back.

Full of cultural and ecological beauty. You can nurture your mind in their museums, your eyes in the Rose Garden and arboreal scenery, your ears and spirit in their theathers and venues. Fully recommend to spend a day to relax or book one of their many events.

Balboa Park will leave you in awe. With several museums, garden and San Diego Zoo to visit, you will never run out of things to do. It’s a great place to bring the whole family. I how educational and historical this park is. I would highly recommend this beautiful park to anyone visiting the San Diego area.

The environment is diverse, welcoming and secure. It can be busy but its worth the experience. There was ample parking regardless of the crowds. Me and my daughter visited the natural history museum, admission price was reasonable and the atmosphere was good. The exhibits were interesting. I would visit again.

Petco Park, opened in 2004, is a prominent outdoor stadium that hosts seasonal sporting events and concerts. While dogs are technically not allowed inside the stadium, Petco Park has hosted numerous dog-friendly events, including special game days like Dog Days of Summer and features The Barkyard with semi-private dog-friendly viewing sections for Padres home games.
This park is an exceptional experience! It’s now in my top 5 ballparks. There’s something for everyone, and more. I recommend going early to get a good look around the park before it fills in. There are plenty of food options and seating everywhere, so you can people-watch while you eat. There’s also a lot of staff to help you find washrooms and take great photos of the park and the surrounding areas. Kids can play on the playground and on the miniature baseball field. The outfield seating is also very good, allowing you to be within talking distance of the players.

One of my favourite ball parks that we have been coming to for over 10 years. Amazing views of the city and lots of good options for food and drink. Came for a Padres v Dodgers Friday night game this time and it didn’t disappoint. The small wine place across from the Lexus Lounge was great. Very easy to get served, which was a challenge in the lounge itself. Friday night games are the best as the crowd is loud and engaged. Padres fans are have always been friendly when we visit and everyone had a nice time.

Great park. Been to like 40 different baseball parks (current and retired ones). This is one of the best! Amazing setting. Great views of the city. Interesting features inside like the Padres HOF. They were having Hispanic Heritage weekend when I went in late September. Definite playoff vibe as well with Mariachi band (they played the national anthem - never heard that before) and Latina dancers and sitting room seats in outfield. Super fun.

This has to be one of the better MLB stadiums I have been to. It was easy to get to and find parking for. The employees were friendly and nice, and it was fun seeing the fans get into the game and cheer for the Padres. The food in and around the stadium were also good. I look forward to being able to come back to see another MLB game here when I'm able to.

This review is all about Petco Park itself, not the Padres—though I’ll always bleed blue for my team! This stadium easily ranks in my top four. The views, the electric vibe, and the food make it a standout. The highlight? The famous Seaside Market Tri-Tip Nachos (aka Cardiff Crack nachos). These are an absolute must-try—loaded with juicy, slow-smoked tri-tip, nacho cheese, BBQ sauce, sour cream, and green onions. They’re so YUM, even a traditionalist like me, who lives for ballpark hot dogs, happily deviates for these. Trust me, they’re worth it! Escaping triple-digit Arizona heat for a game at Petco each season is a highlight. The back-and-forth rivalry cheers in the stands create an unmatched atmosphere. From the stunning views to the incredible food, Petco Park delivers an unforgettable baseball experience. Can’t wait to return next season!

Great stadium, fantastic area, great staff and service, and had a great time! I got the steak nachos, which were fine, but could have used hot sauce or salsa. One bottle of soda was $7…pricey. Great viewing area with large screen!

9/6/25 Parking is a zoo so come early for dinner and so you can check out the merchandise. On Saturday, we parked at the Hard Rock Hotel and paid @$90 for valet plus tip. The park is clean and has lots of meal options. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait in line for a bathroom! So nice! I'd suggest hanging out for a bit because there is so much traffic after the event, no need to rush. Overall, a good experience. I'd bring my comfy walking shoes because you'll be walking to get there and up lots of stairs. (There are elevators.) Pro tips- don't get the mixed drinks, stick with the beer on level 1. I had the rum and pineapple juice drink and it was watery. Also, make sure to have a plastic bag.

This is a great place to watch a baseball game. Good concessions options, although just about anything you buy is going to be very expensive. Easily reached from the metro trolley system on blue, orange, or green lines. I was impressed that they had staff passing around concessions guide flyers as I entered to park so you know where to look for the best dining options.

La Jolla Shores Park, also known as La Jolla Beach, is a renowned natural ecological reserve and a popular tourist destination in Southern California. It boasts excellent sandy beaches, cliffs, and clear blue waters suitable for various beach activities. The park offers a grassy area and playgrounds just steps away from the sand and waves. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, water sports, and even spot sea lions and seals basking close to downtown La Jolla.
The hardest part was getting there, tourists at our finest lol. The parking lot to beachfront is short and easy, can be a little bit of wait or circling for a spot. Came to stay all day. Showers and restrooms, lifeguards. It got crowded but not overly. Sea loins up the coast not far from beach, neat to see them. Beach was clean, people were kind. Lifeguards did a great job. Beautiful day.

It’s a beautiful beachfront spot where you can easily walk and enjoy long strolls throughout the day. The area isn’t too big but feels open enough. Walking here during sunset and watching the palm trees is truly relaxing. If you stay at a nearby hotel, you can walk straight from your room to the beach. Restrooms and showers are free and cleaned regularly, but they’re not spotless. Parking is also free, but finding a spot can be tricky, so it’s best to come early. You can bring your own food and drinks and enjoy them comfortably while you’re here. Overall, it’s peaceful, safe and perfect for families and couples. Highly recommend spending a day just watching the ocean, listening to the waves and feeling the breeze. It’s a place that really calms your mind and lifts your spirit. 🌴✨

We had an absolute blast at La Jolla Shore Park! The scenery is stunning, and getting to see sea lions and seals up close was unforgettable. They were lounging on the rocks, swimming around, and put on quite the show — such an amazing experience, especially for the kids. The park was clean, easy to walk around, and perfect for relaxing, taking photos, or just soaking in the ocean views. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in the area. Can’t wait to come back!

Good evening friend travelers. Well once again I am on my family trip to San Diego brought us here to La Jolla Shores at one point. Like I've stated before I believe La Jolla shores, La Jolla cove, Ellen Browning Park, expand maybe 5 to 6 miles long. With plenty of clothing stores, restaurants, souvenir shops, and entertainment. This nice little area is just amazing. Would beaches where you can go snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, or just taking a nice walk, hike, or even bicycle ride Play This Is The Place to do it. We came down to La Jolla Shores to try to see the waters illuminate at night if you have never seen that when the water or waves hit the shore it lights up a fluorescent blue, due to the algae. Which is amazing to see. Or you can even just sit on the beach and light a campfire and just relax, listening to the ocean, and finding that pure peace. So if you're ever in San Diego, come check this place out. Hope you enjoy the pictures, God bless

Beautiful public beach, except the furthest hotel sent out a security guard and told us that this area of the BEACH IS PRIVATE, SO WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A SIGN AND PERMIT FROM THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO???? WE WEREN'T THE ONLY ONES KICKED OUT!!! After walking from the pier to the EXCLUSIVE HOTEL WITH THEIR OWN PRIVATE BEACH, THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO BE ON A PRIVATE ISLAND, SO THEY CAN HAVE THEIR PRIVATE BEACH!!!

Love it! Though it was busy, it was still serene enough to enjoy. There's so many places to sit - in the sand by the water, on the park benches, at the picnic table, on the lawn. A great place to visit.

Nestled atop Mount Soledad in La Jolla, the Mount Soledad Memorial Park is a hidden gem that pays tribute to American veterans. The park features a massive cross monument adorned with plaques telling the stories of the honored veterans. Visitors can explore a hidden trail within the La Jolla Heights Open Space, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and downtown San Diego.
Had been here on the Labor Day and it was beautiful and real tribute to the veterans. The area was completely covered by mist. The park opens at 7am so we went there by 7:30am. There is no fee and the park has ample parking spaces. It’s better to be here when early morning and late evening when it’s cool around. Cycling and joggers are allowed to this park.
Puneeth R — Google review
If you haven't been here, do yourself a favor and GO! So many plaques to view of our veteran's, most of whom have passed on. Very interesting reading the engraved granite plaques. It also happens to be one of the best views of the San Diego area. There is a book available to look up veterans by last name and learn their plaque's location. This is a MUST VISIT! There are 4 HC ♿ parking spots in two areas. A ramp is easily accessible by wheelchair.
James B — Google review
Mount Soledad Memorial Park is open to the public free of charge and is undoubtedly one of the best spots in San Diego for scenic views. It also serves as a veterans memorial site, dedicated to honoring soldiers who have served the nation from the American Revolutionary War to the present day. The 360-degree unobstructed viewing platform offers panoramic vistas of the city, the Pacific Ocean, the Coronado Bridge, and even the Mexican border. Opening hours: daily from 7:00 to 22:00. The park provides free parking, but the road leading to the mountaintop is relatively steep and requires focused attention while driving. It is best to visit on clear days when the visibility is optimal, making it the perfect time for photography and sightseeing. Visitors can take leisurely walks, read the plaques on the memorials to learn about the stories of soldiers from different historical periods, and experience the solemn and respectful atmosphere of the place. Dogs are allowed, so you can bring your furry friends along for the visit.

Mount Soledad in San Diego offers some of the most breathtaking views in the city. From the top, you can see panoramic vistas of the coastline, downtown, La Jolla, and even the mountains in the distance. Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial in San Diego is a striking and historic landmark that honors U.S. military veterans from all branches of service. Perched atop Mount Soledad in La Jolla, the memorial offers panoramic views of San Diego, the Pacific Ocean, and beyond, making it one of the most scenic points in the city. The site is distinguished by its towering white cross and thousands of black granite plaques that display photos and stories of veterans who served in conflicts from the Revolutionary War to the present. Visitors come to pay tribute, reflect on the sacrifices of service members, and appreciate the peaceful setting that symbolizes freedom and gratitude. Combining breathtaking vistas with deep patriotic significance, Mount Soledad Memorial Park stands as a moving tribute to America’s heroes.

Jake's Del Mar is a seaside eatery and bar offering upscale dining with stunning ocean views. Housed in a historic building dating back to 1910, it has served various purposes over the years, adding to its rich history. The restaurant provides an unforgettable dining experience, especially during sunset when guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Jake’s has great service and really good food. It was my first time visiting this restaurant that’s located steps from the sand at Del Mar beach. I used open table to reserve a seat for two. We walked right up and were seated on the patio with an outstanding view of the beach. We got the muscles, which were amazing, a burger and a chicken sandwich. The muscles were nice and spicy with sausage in the mix. Delicious. The burger was a good size with some big slices of bacon on top. The fries were a hit.

If you're looking for a spot right on the water, Jake's is a great option! We came here for the first time recently and really enjoyed our visit. We got seated outside which was nice but unfortunately we didn't have a view of the ocean. However, there is a walkway from the restaurant directly on to the beach. The service was great throughout our whole meal. Food wise, delicious! We started with the ceviche which was so tasty. I ordered the Scallops and my wife ordered the Surfing Steak. Everything tasted fantastic! Even the kids meals were good sizes. It is a little pricey but it's also directly on the beach. The inside was nice and had beautiful views. Valet parking is only $10 if you can't find street parking. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner here!

**Outstanding Dining Experience at Jake's Del Mar** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an incredible evening at Jake's Del Mar! This beachfront gem offers everything you could want in a dining experience - stunning ocean views, exceptional service, and absolutely outstanding food. We started with the calamari and crab cake appetizers, both of which were perfectly prepared and delicious. My husband ordered the halibut special, which was so exceptional that I couldn't resist trying it even though I wasn't planning on having a main course. The freshness of the ingredients really shines through - you can taste that everything is made with the highest quality, just-prepared produce. Our server was both friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The conversation flowed as beautifully as the ocean waves just outside. This was honestly the best meal I've had in months. The restaurant's location right on the beach creates an unbeatable atmosphere, and while the restrooms are quite small, they're impeccably clean. Jake's Del Mar has earned a permanent spot on our list of favorite restaurants. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, expertly prepared food with unparalleled ocean views and top-notch service. They offer valet for $10 and it’s cheaper that the public parking across the road which was $30

My review is based on my lunch experience. I came here for lunch today. On a Thursday. Got seated right away in the back by the windows. Beautiful beach views. I ordered calamari to start and Burger with fries. The calamari was amazing. My server Tia said it was delicious and it sure is. The server is very hospitable. The calamari was nice and crispy and not chewy. The Birger was ordered medium. It was cooked perfect with avocado. I saw it in a picture and it didn't disappoint. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. I definitely want to come back for dinner

We were there to celebrate a birthday and it was absolutely perfect! We made reservations ahead of time and they had a table by the window with a birthday card waiting. We each had a Mai Tai (which were very good.) For dinner, we had the Lemon Garlic Roasted Fish (which was Sea Bass) that night and the special, which was Alaskan Halibut. Both were very good. We saved room for the Hula Pie, which was amazing! It's almost like a hot fudge sundae in the form of a pie piece. We would absolutely order that again (and probably go out of our way for it!) The staff was very attentive and polite. On top of everything, the view of sunset was spectacular!

Great food, great service and a definite recommendation. The restaurant has an amazing view of the sea. Great for brunch and lunch while having a relaxed time staring at the sea.
Syamantak R — Google review
We went to have dinner here with friends while visiting San Diego. When we arrived, we waited to be seated at the very busy bar. It took 10 minutes for them to even acknowledge us. The room and the bar were very lively, but also very noisy. The best part of the room is the exquisite view of the ocean. We finally were seated and ordered several things from the menu. I did not taste anyone else’s food. However the calamari was really good… Different but a nice flavor. I would’ve preferred it a little crispier, though. I had a Caesar salad salad that was good. However my steak was very very salty. I wasn’t even able to eat it. Everyone else seemed relatively satisfied with their food. But overall, it was just OK.

Private events on the beach require a permit for non-standard equipment, ensuring that the natural beauty of the area is preserved. Beautiful, Clean, and Lively Beach! We visited Coronado Beach on a Saturday and had a great time. It gets pretty busy around noon, and parking on Ocean Blvd was tough we had to drive around for 10–15 minutes before finally finding parking on nearby streets like Pine St, Marina Ave, G Ave, or F Ave. From there, it’s just a short walk to the beach. The beach is clean and well-maintained with restrooms and showers available there are a couple of outdoor showers and two indoor ones inside the restrooms. There are 6 beach volleyball nets set up and available for public use, which adds a fun and active vibe to the area. We also saw lots of surfers and even a few people with private jet skis. You can even rent a firepit for a few hours, which is a great way to relax later in the day. Lifeguards are on duty, so safety is covered. Overall, it’s a lively and scenic beach perfect for a day of fun, just make sure to come early if you want easy parking!

Beautiful beach that stretches pretty long. Visited in September and found it to be a beautiful spot to enjoy a sunny day. Wasn't overly crowded at all, and although I understand there are issues with Tijuana discharging waste towards the U.S., the water seemed clean. Watch the seagulls. They try getting in to people bags on the beach. They seem to have gotten pretty good at it

One of my favorite beaches in San Diego. Used to be one of America’s best beaches. This is a great place for a run, see the naval airplanes, land, and takeoff, bring your dog to the dog beach, have a bonfire, or walk around the car at a hotel del Coronado. Just be wary of the hazard of the water coming from Tijuana There is a QR code that you can track. Other than that, this is the beach that has a lot of sand that you can relax on or play volleyball

Elyaa H — Google review
We visited this restaurant to celebrate our one year anniversary, and while there were some really lovely touches, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the high expectations, especially given the price point. On the positive side, the team customized our menus with a sweet anniversary message, gave us a beautiful window seat with a view, and never made us feel rushed. The service was decent, and the overall vibe was calm and upscale. That said, for a bill that came out to over $700 for two people (with tip), I expected a higher level of attention to detail and execution. I ordered the surf and turf ($157) with my steak medium rare, but it came out medium well. I typically don’t send things back, but at that price, I wanted it done right. To the restaurant's credit, the waiter apologized, had a new steak prepared, and removed the lobster tail from the bill. Still, it left me feeling underwhelmed. There were other small misses, like the yucca fries my partner and I ordered to share. They came out with truffle oil on them, despite us asking for it on the side. Not a huge deal in isolation, but again, for a high-end experience, I expected more care. Maybe it’s my bias coming from the NYC area, where even mid-range restaurants often deliver a wow factor. While this place might be worth it for a one-time special occasion, I personally left disappointed and wouldn’t rush back.

My husband and I had a great time. We had made reservations for the Rising Tide Dinner and we got such a great table by a window. The view was absolutely gorgeous, skies were clear with wisps of clouds and we enjoyed seeing the sunset and the waves. Food was incredible, presented well and it was delicious. Three course meal was so good everything sounded great. We got the Crudo and Steak Tartare to start. 2nd course we got the Chicken with gnocchi and the Spotted Sea Bass. AMAZING. The desserts were so yummy...Strawberry Cheesecake and the S'mores were great. Had a couple drinks each: Sumac Sunset and Rum for the Hills and overall it was such a relaxing outing. Valet wasn't even that expensive $15, well worth it. Will be back for sure!

I went here with a larger party for my birthday. The food was phenomenal!! Definitely will be coming back for date nights or other events. The view was incredible with the restaurant being right on the water with the view of the skyline in the back! So gorgeous!! Service could have been better if the waiter was more friendly. He was very accommodating and said happy birthday to me, but you could tell he was little annoyed. We were a little undecided on the menu at first because it was just a tad different than their online menu but he mentioned his favorites and he had great taste because we could not stop raving about the food! I really had the best time here and will be coming back!

I would give a 3.5 rating. Beautiful view. Attention services for our large party. Cocktail drinks were delicious. Valet parking attendants worked efficiently. Food is too salty. Beef was not cooked to the desired temperature. Check the picture. Dessert portion was huge. Got a free dessert because the server brought out the wrong one.

We had a wonderful time! The food was really good and the view of the city and bay from the outdoor area was so beautiful, especially at night! Our server Wyatt was awesome. He was super kind, considerate, and checked in on us multiple during our meal. The best part was at the end of the dinner when they brought out a slice of cake with a candle for my mom's birthday, it was a really nice moment and the cake was delicious. All around great experience. Would recommend for special occasions as well as casual dinning.

Initial part of the experience of Coasterra is parking. Self Parking was super tight, we also saw there was extra parking if you go past valet after the fact but I will say the signage is not too noticable. We got seated outside and what a view, this is definitely the star of the show. For food we ended up ordering the Ancho Chili Roasted Salmon (toasted quinoa, green beans, shaved cucumber salad, pasilla cream) and the Rainbow Trout A La Plancha (cilantro rice, arugula, pickled carrot & onion salad, habanero, guajillo aioli). We really liked both dishes, the fish was cooked to perfection. I liked the Rainbow Trout over the Salmon. I think for the Ancho Chili Salmon, there was an overpowering Ancho Chili flavor. Overall the food was nice, the server was great and the view was amazing!

The ocean view was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the sea breeze. We originally came to try the paella, but it turns out it’s only available for dinner. We ordered other seafood dishes instead, and everything was fresh and tasty. The service was attentive and friendly. However, one of our napkins had a lipstick stain from a previous guest. They replaced it right away, but it did take away a bit from an otherwise great experience.

We were recommended to Coasterra by a local and it didn't disappoint! We ordered table side fresh guacamole to start and that was so delicious! I enjoyed their jalapeño corn lasagna while friends of mine enjoyed their enchiladas and street tacos. Definitely go around sunset to get AMAZING views of San Diego Bay and Downtown San Diego!

Love this area, the views are beautiful. Made a reservation in advance for my husband's birthday, they put him in the best seat. We were so grateful. The service was friendly and quick it made the experience that much better. We ordered a couple of drinks, my mixed drink was so yummy and pretty stiff. The nachos were so good we forgot to take pictures of them 😁 I had tanpiquena, the steak was flavorful, and the sauce was amazing. My husband loved his steak fajitas. I can't wait to go back for the wagyu burger. Perfect summer spot.

Silver Strand State Beach, also known as The Strand, is a picturesque seven-mile stretch of sandy shoreline that connects Coronado Island with Imperial Beach. This isthmus offers a tranquil escape from the crowded beaches nearby. With 2.5 miles facing the Pacific Ocean and another half mile along San Diego Bay, it's an ideal spot for various activities such as swimming, kayaking, surfing, and beach volleyball.
We had an awesome time camping in our RV. We were warmly greeted by Melissa (staff), who was super nice and she got us checked in and she gave us a campground map and rules. Anthony(staff), was very helpful & friendly. He helped us find our RV spot. Anthony was walking by our campsite and noticed I was having trouble getting my RV plugged up and he showed me how to do it properly. The campground was very organized and well run and all the staff were efficient & pleasant. The overall campground had a great atmosphere and in the later evening it was nice & quiet. The other campers were friendly. The kids were well behaved and dogs too. We had fun talking and interacting with the other campers and we petted quite a few dogs. We met a lot of nice people. It was a great place to relax. We didn't think about anything except taking it easy. Tip: use the Mobile dump service guy to make it easy.

No swimming due to Tijuana waste contamination, but you can walk the beach. The bay is open for swimming, so we were able to walk through the tunnel and let the kids swim still. Overall clean and well maintained, but very tight spaces in RV spots. If the spaces were bigger or the beach was open to swim I would have given more stars, but the beach was pretty empty when we went so overall it was ok.

Sand is everywhere, but that's what you want on a beach. RV Park crowded one against another, shoulder close, but the premium spots back up to the beach. Really nice views.

Excellent! We went on a Saturday morning and there were very few people. The beach is nice and natural, no commercial raking to make everything too pretty like tourist spots. Highly recommend.

The senior Park Host who greeted us at the entrance gate was most helpful with information. He was the kind of person who would do his best to ensure you had everything you needed. For instance, we thought we'd need a 50 Amp to 30 Amp adapter since we were told when reserving that 'only 50 Amp sites were available.' However, our explained that each site with 50 Amp service also had 30 and 15 Amp outlets. But if we'd have needed an adaptor he'd have fixed us up with one.

Black's Beach, located beneath the scenic bluffs of Torrey Pines in San Diego, is a renowned clothing-optional beach. Despite its reputation as a gay and nude-friendly spot, it attracts diverse visitors, including families. The beach offers breathtaking views of San Diego's coastal towns and La Jolla, with gliders soaring above the water. Its powerful surf break is favored by experienced surfers due to deep underwater canyons offshore.
Black’s Beach was unbelievably beautiful. I went there for the purpose of taking photos and I captured some really great ones! The hike down to the beach is kinda rough so wear good shoes. Coming back up was even worse. I barely made it. But for me, it was worth the cardio to be able to experience such a quiet and peaceful place. It should be noted that many of the Black’s Beach patrons prefer to lounge in the sun completely nude.
Crystal — Google review
Prepare for a hike. This is a wonderful beach. Yes its a nude beach. Everyone there was friendly. Not everyone was nude. No one was judging and everyone was friendly. The beach is clean and good sized. Has volleyball courts and is easy to walk up and down the shore. Be sure to be ready for the hike down and back up. The cliff is steep but there is a man made path with stair. I suggest good footwear and bring extra water.
Josh K — Google review
Beautiful spot. Not a ton of people. Yes, it is a nude beach. Couple very talkative guys but everyone was nice and respectful. Would go again. A LOT of stairs, A LOT! lol if you don’t mind a hike back to the top, I would highly recommend this beach.
Andrea I — Google review
Really breathtaking high ground views, nude people walking by the shore but not much, cafe by the parking lot too. Great area for the breeze and sunsets
Dj E — Google review
This beach is amazing, but the bathrooms are pretty bad. It’s not really a public area, but you can still enjoy a nice walk along the shore. There’s a small town up the hill, which makes the view even better. The beach part is open to everyone and that’s what makes it worth visiting. You can park your car in the lot and easily walk down to this spot. I’d recommend bringing some snacks and water, and maybe stay for sunset. It’s a chill place to relax and enjoy the ocean.
Uğurcan Ş — Google review
Hands down to this beach. It is unbelievably stunning! There is a bar/cafe and paragliding field before you hike down to the beach. Going back up was tiring but it’s worth it. As tourists in this place, we were surprised by nude beach goers, at first it was awkward for us but people seemed didn’t care about our skin and we got comfortable eventually. The water and sand were beautiful as well as the cliff and paragliding views. Definitely, it becomes one of our favorites and hopefully we can come back soon.
Nala G — Google review
The hike down is part cardio, part “oops I almost slipped” so bring good shoes or take the stairway… the cliffs, waves, paraglides, sky and of-course the freedom to let it all hang out.

Absolutely the very best of San Diego: Stunning views, clean & safe environment, respectful people all around. I swam in the waves for hours and it was simply magnificent. The water feels amazing, don't be scared. Free parking lot & street parking. Huge children's area.

Smaller beach, kid friendly. The walk through the sand is short but there is a pretty steep hill to go down and back up. Parking is limited but there is some up the road in walking distance. Beautiful small beach not a lot of wildlife to view.

Great beach and park location in Solana Beach. I went here yesterday for a small men’s gathering on the beach. Perfect location and easy access off the descending ramp from park level to sand. Great spot for a pickup game of basketball and to let the kids run wild on both great climbing apparatus and grassy areas. Very cool mini amphitheatre for discussions are group gatherings. Nice spot to overlook Le Grand Bleu with benches. Dogs are required on leash!

Beach was nice, water was blue and nice view of cliffs. Saw a V-22 Osprey fly by which was cool. Basketball court was nice but it’s half a court. Playground looked nice. Crazy lady was screaming a lot which is why I rated this 3 stars.

Great spot to enjoy a beach day in SD. Especially good with the kiddos. As usual parking can be trickey to find really close but be patient and be open to a short walk and you will find some. The “hill” to beach access can be daunting if you’re pulling wagons or strollers so bring shoes or Sind grippy sandals /water shoes. All in all good spot for a day at the beach. They have a nice grass area up at the entrance along with a small playground to enjoy as well.

Mission Trails Regional Park, often referred to as the third jewel of San Diego's park system, is an expansive 8,000-acre recreational area located just eight miles from downtown. The park offers over 60 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails that cater to all skill levels. Visitors can also enjoy boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding on Lake Murray or camping at Kumeyaay Lake.
Beautiful, well cared-for trails and habitat. The porta-potty was surprisingly gross, considering all the obvious attention given to the surroundings.
Desert E — Google review
My toddler boys have been on so many different hikes but this remains at the top of their list! We love the visitor center which has an interactive museum attached to it where you can learn about the Kumeyaay people and the rich natural history of the area. We love all of the different trails which are kid friendly with mostly flat terrain and some climbing opportunities and even a creek to cool off in. The trails are also dog friendly, with a water station and a dog parking post in front of the visitors center. But be careful on hot days with both furry friends and kids who can get easily over heated. There is some poison oak on the trails so educate yourself on what that is and make sure your kids are careful too. There is an overflow lot if you can’t find parking here on the weekends or when they are hosting a free event

Mission Trails is one of San Diego’s hidden gems. It’s the perfect spot to disconnect without driving too far from the city. The trails are well-marked, with options ranging from easy walks to more challenging hikes that give you a great workout. The views from Cowles Mountain or North Fortuna are stunning, especially at sunset. I love that you can choose different vibes here—hills, canyons, even the San Diego River running through some trails. It feels safe, there are always people hiking, running, or biking, but it never feels overcrowded. Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat since some areas don’t have shade, but overall, this place is absolutely worth it. A must if you want nature, exercise, and amazing views right in the city.

I hiked from the park entrance to the peaks of two mountains. It took about three hours. The nature was diverse and beautiful. The endless vistas were truly soul-soothing. The trail varied: at times rocky, sometimes crossed by streams, and occasionally a steep mountain path. So, make sure to wear hiking boots. With a racing heart, I stood at a steep cliff, taking in the incredible beauty. You'll occasionally meet other hikers on the route, so if something happens, there will be help. I hiked in the heat, so make sure to bring plenty of water.

we were in need of a substantial hike. We headed out of central San Diego to a place called Mission Trails Regional Park. The drive here was only just over 15 minutes. We parked near the visitors centre and pretty much followed the Oak Canyon to Grasslands Trail found on AllTrails. Lake Murray, located within Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego, is a reservoir formed by a 19th-century dam. It's a popular spot for outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and angling. The park offers small boat and kayak rentals for visitors to enjoy the sunny days on the water. Additionally, it's an ideal destination for picnicking, bicycling, jogging, rollerblading, and walking.
Beautiful lake. Crystal clear water. I came to spend the day at Lake Murray after hearing about all the amazing species of fish they have here. From Florida Bass to rainbow trout, sunfish, and catfish. They had pretty much a target species for everyone. Unfortunately I didn’t have any luck with those bass but my friends pulled quite a few nice size trout on the golden shiners. The boats are in pretty good shape. Not the most comfortable but far better than most other rental boats. The bait shop is pretty nice also. They have live bait (shiners, worms, etc) They’ve got plenty of your “go to” lures and soft baits. Bottom line they had everything needed so one wouldn’t have to stop at a tackle shop prior to going. Overall it was a beautiful day with gorgeous views. The wildlife was really nice! Especially the ducks. Although I didn’t catch anything, the memory was far worth the trip. I’ll definitely be back. Next time for those trout 🤣

Beautiful and quiet place to get a nice walk in or go for a ride on a paddle boat. Lake Murray offers plenty of space for everyone, with parking in several spots and multiple entering points. Paved running trail and regular dirt running trail for different terrain feels. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a stroll through the area, a picnic, fishing, exercise, or just taking in the view.

Love the diversity of people as I walk through the park. Great place to walk your dog although beware you should be 50 ft. away from the water if you're walking your pup. There's the side of the lake which is good for just strolling also saw some people doing Yoga under the trees. Seemed very peaceful. The other side seems to be for hiking. I haven't made it to that side yet. Plenty of ducks and geese. Great views for any side of the lake your standing on. Also plenty of parking.

The campus is beautiful, but the beauty stops there. Behind the surface is a hypocritical organization that protects the powerful and tramples over everyone else. Students pay $60k/year to be taught by old professors who checked out 30 years ago and haven't updated their courses since then. The university is plagued by scandals. There are plenty of other universities that provide a better education at a more reasonable price without the hypocrisy and lack of values.

Mountains
Cowles Mountain, located in Mission Trails Regional Park, is a popular hiking destination in San Diego. The 5-mile trail leads to the highest point in the city at 1,593 feet and offers stunning views from Orange County to Mexico. While it can get crowded, there are less busy routes to reach the summit for those seeking a quieter experience.
One of the most popular peak hikes and at 1591 ft, it's the highest point in the city of San Diego. The trail is well maintained, but it's rocky and contains "steps" to minimize wear & tear. Many locals hike up for a workout. It's also a good warm-up for Sierra backpacking or hiking. The hike can be hot, and there is little shade along the way, so make sure you pack a hat, sunglasses & enough water for a couple hours of moderate 900-foot up and down treking. We went in mid to late October. Even then, the sun's UVs were strong, and the air was dry. Recommended.

The best place for quick but really good hiking. Moderate to hard - depends on people, I will say a moderate one. It’s always busy hike and easy to park in the road. You will see 360 degrees views all the way up-to north and downtown on west and beautiful hill stations in north and south. Please bring water. Been to this hike more than 20 times but still loving it. Beautiful sunset view in pacific.
Ravi D — Google review
Do not go in the middle of the day, by 11 am the trails are packed with people. This is a morning or evening hike. This is not easy. While it is covered in bushes and trees on the way up it still leaves little as far as shade. Bring hats, sunscreen, shade of some sort and tons of water. Go slow if you’re a beginner. If you are taking the service road route make sure you have shoes with good tread…skate shoes will have you sliding off the mountain for sure. And enjoy the view when you get to the top.

Really fun. Great views. Started going more often on my days off because the gyms were closed. Absolutely go early in the morning or at sunset otherwise theres many many people. Lots of crowds none in masks. Hike itself is rough if you rarely hike but many good places to stop and rest. I prefer going at sunset and night hiking. :^) Pre-covid going later there would be space in the parking lot. Potentially that will return in the future. :^)

As a Midwesterner who is newly moved here, mountains are a novelty and I love seeing them where I live. After hearing about the 5 Peak Challenge at Mission Trails Regional Park, I knew this was the challenge I needed since races in person are canceled for the time being. The parking lot filled up quickly as noted but I easily parked on the road outside the lot. The path to the summit was busy for 8am, but everyone was moving at a easy pace and enjoying the gorgeous weather. There are parts of the path where you have to climb over rocks but overall it isn’t too bad. For the websites that said this is a great hike for kids, I say, what age, because this was a killer workout for me but to be fair, I come from straight flat land! Beautiful views at the peak. Bring water and a hat, the sun was beating down early in the morning.

UCSD Scripps Pier, located in La Jolla, is a renowned coastal landmark in San Diego. It serves as both an oceanography research site and a popular spot for capturing stunning sunset photos beneath its long, sleek structure that extends into the Pacific Ocean. The pier's symmetrical concrete pillars create a dramatic visual effect, especially when viewed from below during low tide. While typically closed to the public due to ongoing research projects and delicate scientific instruments, monthly tours offer educational insights into the facility.
The UCSD Scripps Pier is a fascinating and iconic landmark located in La Jolla. Operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, it’s not just a picturesque spot but also a vital research facility. Built in 1988 to replace the original 1916 structure, the pier is used for ocean and atmospheric research, contributing significantly to the scientific community. While the pier itself is not open to the public, its striking architecture and location make it a favorite for photography and quiet reflection. The surrounding area offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, especially at sunset when the pier’s silhouette creates a dramatic scene. It’s also a popular spot for surfers and beachgoers, with La Jolla Shores Beach just a short walk away.

Scripps Pier is the best beach in San Diego! Every time I come here the scenery always changes and it looks different. I'm a local and I photograph the pier at different seasons and am still amazed by beautiful it looks. High or low tide, sunrise or sunset, summer or winter, anytime of the year it's beautiful here!
Autumn M — Google review
The pier itself is a vital research platform of Scipps Institution of Oceanography. The structure would act as an environmental monitoring station as well as a launching pad for boat and scientific diving operations. Seawater would be collected and stored here for research usage. The view here is great to see the La Jolla Coast and the sunset. The regular beach activities are popular here. Many people would bring their boards here for surfing. During the graduation period, many UCSD graduates would take photos here as a memory of the beautiful place.
Scott L — Google review
My brother recommended we check this pier out, as it's supposed to be a famous pier. It was difficult finding parking at first, until we realized, we could use the parallel street parking that's above the whole science complex. It's a bit of a walk to get down there, but it was more than worth it. The pier is closed to the general public, as it's for scientific researchers only. But, that doesn't really matter, when you're walking on that beach to see the pier from below. It's beautiful, the beach is quiet, and the scenery is so calming. Absolutely worth it!

Sunset Cliffs Cave is a must-visit spot in San Diego, offering an iconic location to witness the breathtaking sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Situated between Ocean Beach and Point Loma, it's a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Arriving early is recommended due to limited parking along the road. The nearby open-ceiling sea cave near Luscombs Point is accessible during negative tides, providing a picturesque and adventurous experience.
Sunset Cliffs is an absolutely stunning coastal spot in San Diego! The breathtaking views of the rugged cliffs, crashing waves, and golden sands make it a must-visit. The sunset here is truly magical, painting the sky with vibrant colors. Whether you're walking along the edge, watching the waves, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, it's a perfect place to unwind. Just be mindful of the cliff edges, as they can be unstable. Highly recommended for nature lovers and photographers!"

A big, rusty chain link fence is protecting us from the scary cave. Far be it from them to place a nice safety barrier around it. I guess better safe than dead. Kids will be kids. The neighbourhood is nice. It’s a good place for a walk or a jog, which many people are doing. With and without dogs.
Michael S — Google review
A really beautiful spot to come watch sunset. I would recommend coming an hour early and reserving a spot so that you get a good location and good parking spot too. The sunset want complete for us as the could took over but will recommend this spot if you want to enjoy the tides and see the sun go down with nice gush of wind

This place offers good ocean views and sometimes you can see some nice ships, but parking is crowded and a full size truck kinda fit, small crowded streets not worth the drive or traffic just to look at the beach from the cliff-ish. It doesn't look anything like in the pictures, long drive, lots of people running and waking giving you the stink face but overall nothing special... i think imperial beach is better than this place.

Visited Sunset Cliffs. Amazing Cliffs. Some are Cave and Pool like. Panoramic view of Pacific Ocean. Enjoyed the beautiful and amazing Sun set at this cliff. Beautiful scenery

There used to be a rope on the hillside here, it’s gone making it a little tougher if your on the fitness challenged end of things or older etc… but amazing place.

Beautiful views. Must come to see for yourself! Making memories is the wonderful, beautiful thing life has to offer. Don't take it for granted! 🙂
Marygrace S — Google review
Sunset cave and then go a little further down the road, you’ll find stairs to go to the beach below. The tide was too high, so I couldn’t go into the cave but it’s still a good site to see. Watch out for all the sand blowing around, it’ll get in your eyes.

Park
Palisades South Park is a popular spot located at the end of the Pacific Beach boardwalk, offering unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and the pier. It's a favorite among locals and visitors who come to relax, read, exercise, and witness stunning sunsets. The park is surrounded by clean beach access stairs and offers various activities such as walking trails, bicycle rentals, restaurants, surfboard renting companies, and instructors.
Very nice for beginners of surfing to learn the sport. Definitely recommend taking the two-hour long individual, or small group, surfing lessons taught on the Beach. It's also a wonderful beach for younger swimmers to play in the Ocean. Parking on the street is at a premium though.
N P — Google review
Great place to relax, but with limited parking. This is a unknown and quiet park, with people exercising, walking their dogs, and neighbors just passing by. It is very empty and relaxing, with smaller trails along the cliffs to find privacy, if needed. This is a great part to take your dogs on a run or walk. I also see about 30 surfers out, as well, so a good surf spot. There are benches to watch the ocean, as well.
Micaela F — Google review
Nice, cool day, alot of surfers 🏄‍♂️ out today.
Brandon K — Google review
Beautiful beach, great waves, warm water, nice people, basic accommodations, no complaints.

What we love about San Diego is all these beach-parks, perfect for those who are not about the sand and water but love to take in all the beauty of it. We wanted to enjoy the sunshine one weekend afternoon and take our dog to see the water. We typically have our go-to spots to view the water, but we ventured out to Pacific Beach to see what’s up. Very beautiful, breezy and good vibes….one con though is how busy it can get and finding parking was really difficult. It felt really crowded, but outside of that, we enjoyed our time taking in the view and our dog loved it too! Will we go back? Depends on the crowd 🤣, but if you are someone that thrives off of the hustle and bustle, this may be the beach park for you!
Grace K — Google review
Very nice strip of grass on a hilltop overlooking the beach and ocean below. This is the perfect place to watch the sunset or to unwind and relax during the day.
RiloMan9 — Google review
AMAZING Paradise here. San Diego has so many magical and amazing spots. This is a great perch above the cliffs looking down on the beach. People come to watch the sunset, bring a picnic, bring a yoga mat or do calisthenics, among other things. Lots of delicious food nearby to bring for your own picnic or gathering or do or individual sitting. This is an awesome spot for tickly at sunset or at night. PRIOR REVIEW This is a great area. Filled with a variety variety of people walking along the path along the beach and people enjoying their time heading down to Mission Beach, walking in Pacific Beach and walking around this beautiful location. There are many restaurants and whatever you want on the streets nearby. This is a place to people-watch with high energy and generally a good day place to spend time.
Jonathan ( — Google review
Free parking can be found when savvy. Come early and give yourself time to circle on weekends. Dogs ok on beach after 4pm or 6pm depending on time of year. Or before 9am for early birds. Approachable beginner waves to surf. Didn't find ocean too cold in a wetsuit in November. Golden hour is sensational just before sunset if you can swing it.

Portside Pier, located in San Diego, is a stunning dining destination offering breathtaking views of the bay. It houses four distinct restaurants - Brigantine Seafood and Oyster Bar, Ketch Grill & Taps, Portside Coffee and Gelato, and Miguels Cocina. The ground floor features various dining options while the second level includes a brewery tasting deck and rooftop terrace lounge.
It was a perfect day to just go for a walk in San Diego. There was many cruises ship at Port. It was a busy. We stop here to eat lunch and the food was fantastic and our service was so spot on soon our drink was halfway, they were there refilling. Didn't take a picture of the food, but I'll tell you this. It was amazing. You have to come here. On a beautiful day or even rainy, be beautiful to look out into the ocean. But this place is well worth it. Cause, come on, even on the outside. They have a coffee shop that you can have and put on your Instagram and everything else, which is amazing. Then you get to see your name written on there. What are your comments that you supply about the coffee? So, it's well worth to come here to eat the fabulous food. Get a coffee and go walking out there or hot Cocoa. On a cool day.

We sat at the bar big mistake too busy making the drinks to wait on us. The 7 Marie soup the shrimp was over cooked like rubber. Chips and salsa Great.

Love it great dining options, and sunset views. Right on the water. Great views of the boats.
Jon W — Google review
What a great place for lunch and dinner. You can catch a beautiful sunset looking over the harbor. The Brigantine restaurant and Miguel's are great restaurants.
Ron E — Google review
Today, after a long flight, we decided to stop here and eat lunch. I have a Medical alert service dog and I asked our waitress if she could bring her a bowl of water. She said she could not do that due to the restaurant policy. I asked her if she just give me a plastic bowl/to-go container and I can just pour my water into it for her. She said no rudely and said again it was in the policy. This is the first time in 5 years of having my well trained service dog that a restaurant has ever declined to give me a plastic bowl for her water. Unbelievable. We paid $115 for two people for lunch and this is how they treat their customers? Do better!! I will never come to this restaurant again.
Blondie — Google review
Great place to hang out with friends, grab as drink and enjoy a meal. We just went for drinks to TopSail and really like there vibe. We will definitely come back for food. We had dinner at Brigantine that was just ok, but that's another review.
