Very good place overall. Their regular latte and salted caramel latte are both excellent, depends if you’re in the mood for sugary drink or not. I tried few bakery and breakfast items, and all of them were pretty good. I tried butter croissant, almond croissant, prosciutto breakfast croissant, and smoked salmon bagel. All options are excellent. Their prosciutto breakfast is more buttery than I would like it to be, so maybe they need to go easy a little on the butter. Wait time can be little long, but on average it is ~ 10-15 minutes. Overall I would give this place a solid 9/10.

This is one of my new favorites in the north park area. The combination of good coffee, great staff, and plenty of seating won me over. They have a great combination of outdoor patio and plenty of indoor seating. Even with plenty of people there, there was still seating throughout. We love coldbrew and even though they didnt have an option to sample the mint coldbrew they had, they offered to give a bit of the surup to make a little sample using the one we ordered which is super nice. We were also able to get it in a glass rather than plastic which is great as well. My only nitpick is that glass should be the default for people getting it for there. The atmosphere is great too. While it is designed for buying the products they sell, it is nice items that are laid out in a way that adds a great look to the place. Overall a great spot.

This was easily one of the cutest cafés I’ve been to in San Diego! My friend took me there because I wanted a cozy spot to work from. The vibe, the aesthetics, everything was a solid 10/10. I ordered a sakura matcha (which I think could’ve been better), but the lavender one was chef’s kiss. Also had a turkey bagel sandwich don’t remember the exact name, but oh my god, it was SO good. Everyone else loved their food too, so safe to say this place is a hit!

Great place to do some work on your laptop. They have a nice ambiance, they have power for your devices, a lot of different seating areas, a very tasty versatile and trendy menu. They even have mimosas! The food was really good.

This is a cute, relaxing place that sits next to a plant nursery. The outside patio is quiet, away from the street. Inside is decorated with a cottage feel. Avocado toast was very good but I would have loved fresh avocado slices instead of a spread. The kids options are why we came. My daughter had the. Chocolate steamer. They have several options.

Absolutely loved the ambience and service up. Lots and lots of space indoors and out with a cozy atmosphere. Coffee and food was quite good. Definitely a great spot for coffee lovers.

Communal Coffee is an absolute gem! I had their Latte and the Spiced Pumpkin Latte—both were amazing. The lattes were perfectly crafted with rich, smooth flavors, and the Spiced Pumpkin Latte had just the right amount of seasonal warmth. The café itself has such a cool, welcoming vibe with its unique decor and cozy atmosphere. It’s a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a quiet coffee. Highly recommend for any coffee lover!

I liked the coffee here. I tried a latte and a batch brew. The coffee is of good quality and properly prepared. We also tried croissants at this coffee shop and they were very tasty and fresh. I would come back here again for coffee and croissants. However, I didn't like the atmosphere of the coffee shop at all. It was not cozy. We sat outside and the tables were a little dirty. The tables were not fixed well, and because of that, my coffee spilled and stained my clothes. I would like the cafe to be more cozy and clean.

Really busy spot on a Saturday morning! The wait in line then the wait for them to make your coffee is honestly a bit outrageous but luckily you’re in a cool space and you can check out the little shops. The coffee was delicious and I enjoyed it. The tiramisu cruffin and the chocolate chip cookie were unfortunately inedible. I had high hopes for the treats because they look so good but the texture and flavours were too cheap for my liking. I would come back again on a slow weekday morning but I would skip weekends and definitely skip the food.

I wanted to like this place badly. I went at 730 and they were already out of honey, so I got a vanilla latte with cinnamon and it had no flavor unfortunately. My chocolate croissant was warmed up but the chocolate was a cold block in the middle. I didn't like the vibe, it felt like sitting in a warehouse and it was very cold since there's no heat and they keep the garage door wide open. I'm sure this is good for people who like their coffee black, but to me it wasn't worth the trip.

James is another popular roaster from San Diego. This spot near Little Italy is in an industrial looking warehouse which perfectly tops off the hipster coffee vibe if you’re looking for that. The coffee stand is near the back of the warehouse and the menu is decent. I ordered the cold brew straight up and it was delicious. Smooth yet bold and not too watery. They had some cool glass jar recycling program for frequent cold brew drinkers but I didn’t ask as I was only passing by. Glad to have found James coffee and been able to try it on my trip.

I’ve been here a bunch of times and will continue to do so. Parking anywhere in Little Italy is a task by itself so go early soon after they open. Service is good. There’s plenty of seating. Most importantly, the coffee and food are good. I personally like their iced Mexican mocha and iced honey cinnamon latte. On this trip I got the “pull apart bun” and I can’t wait to get it on my next trip! So good.

This place was amazing. My brother and I both had cappuccinos that were both delicious and beautiful. We also tried out one of the chocolate almond croissants and one of the traditional croissants. They were both warmed up for us and delightful. The space is great with the different storefronts and several different types of seating available. Since we had never been there before we asked some questions about the options and the staff was very polite and knowledgeable. One of my favorite things to do is watch someone who is good at their craft, and I was not disappointed at James Coffee. You can even sit at the bar behind the counter and watch them all in action. The stores where not open the first time we went so we actually came back later in the day to go through the stores. I believe that I spoke with the owner in the James At Home Shop and he was very nice and helpful. You can really tell from the space and the quality of product that they produce that this is not just a job but a passion. I highly suggest stopping in and giving it a try if you are in the area.

This is a cute little coffee stand inside a common area for several smaller shops. There are several tables to allow you to enjoy your coffee/food inside. This is a nice combo of indoor with very open space and large entryway with natural light. Lots of fun people watching! The coffee was delicious! As an abode canner I was super excited to also be purchasing a new lug lid and matching jar!! I will happily pay the deposit to keep the jar and lid! The coffee was very smooth and flavorful. I ordered an iced mocha latte. The chocolate was good quality and not overpowering. Service was friendly and helpful! The area was clean, even the multiple tables were kept clean.

I've always had great service and fantastic coffee every single time I've come here. They always feature coffees from different regions and this is where I learned to appreciate that. There was also a time when a server remembered me even though I hadn't been there in quite a while, which is always a nice touch. So yes all the kudos and positive reviews are well deserved.

Delicious, properly made, authentic cappuccinos made here — just like one would drink in Italy. 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏 I also appreciated that they had a few food options, including a Chia pudding topped with fruit and breakfast sandwiches. The Crack Shack is directly across the street and another member in our group was able to purchase a massive, hot, delicious sandwich after buying coffee set Bird Rock. I would return to this area of a little Italy in a HEARTBEAT… The only thing that made me sad was that I discovered this hidden gem of a cafe on my way to the airport! See you next time Bird Rock!

One of the best coffee shops I’ve been to in a long time. All the staff was friendly. The coffee was perfect. Cute place. Some beautiful art on the walls as well.

Great little coffee shop in Little Italy - away from the busy streets, though, which is what I liked about the place. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable, and the coffee was good. I had a solid pour-over, but I was hoping for something smoother with a bit more body and acidity - it was muted in the middle. Still enjoyed it. The cups are cute, and I loved the tiny little touches. The staff who made my pour-over was charming - she was telling me how in TJ, many coffee shops make pour overs which I did not know. Would go here again to sip coffee, but a bit hard to work out of due to the overhead flying planes. The seating outside can use some work, but they did try. Would come back for sure.

My first time visiting this quaint little coffee shop. The drinks offered have a more authentic, homemade quality that sets it apart from other basic coffee shops. I highly recommend giving them a try!

We came here on a Thursday morning around 10 AM. I ordered the large latte (WOW SO GOOD) and she ordered the queen Bee Latte (EVEN BETTERRR!!) and wow this was a fantastic experience. The vibes were on point, people behind us discussing some crazy over the top business deal, a few people working on their laptops and just us enjoying the moment. The chocolate croissant was tasty. I would recommend this coffee shop to everyone in the entire universe. Thanks to the baristas and employees of this fine establishment.

I really liked the atmosphere of this coffee shop. There is a lot of space, two floors. Interesting style, not loud and pleasant music. Nice staff and delicious pastries. There are good teas. But the coffee was not good. It was bitter and too hot. The coffee is not very good quality for me.

I've always used the PB location, but this was my first time at the Hillcrest. I parked on the street. The spacious, high-ceilinged space is spacious and relaxing. It's amazing that there's a second floor too👍🏼I'd love to come again. The coffee is much better than Starbucks'. The matcha latte was extremely sweet, so if you want it less sweet, it's best to ask for it.

I love coming to this Better Buzz. The drinks and pastries here are always delicious. I always come here to study. They have very good motivational music! Everyone here is super smiley, welcoming, and cheerful! It’s my go to place on the weekend!

I’m from out of state and, until my visit to San Diego, had never even heard of Better Buzz. I was pleasantly surprised, as I’m not a big fan of other coffee places. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed it so much that I went back a second time in the few days I was in town. The design of the space made for plenty of seating options and the atmosphere was chill. The employees were very pleasant and appeared to be having fun. There was a clear camaraderie among the Baristas as they hustled to get orders out quickly. All were exceptional, especially Auston who greeted us with the biggest and best smile. In addition to the excellent coffees, I had the avocado toast the first time there and an almond pastry the second time. Both were excellent. I highly recommend Better Buzz. I don’t think you’d be disappointed.

This was my first time at a Better Buzz and From the moment I walked in, he was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping me choose the perfect drink. His customer service is outstanding, professional, upbeat, and attentive in a way that really makes the visit feel special. Effie’s drink and food recommendations were spot-on, I ordered the pistachio croissant and the snickerdoodle latte and my order came out perfectly. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about creating a great experience for every customer. Everything was fresh and the atmosphere was great. If you’re in Hillcrest, definitely stop by Better Buzz 😃

I recently visited San Diego and found Better Buzz in Hillcrest. The coffee and food was fantastic and the service was extraordinary! I enjoyed it so much that I went back for a second visit on my trip. On both occasions I had a delicious iced coffee and tried two of their breakfast sandwiches; super great. The Barista's name, that made my coffees, was Auston. She was very friendly and seemed to love her job. I will definitely go back whenever I'm in town.

Definitely my fav place ever! I always get a lavender tea latte with an add shot and oatmilk and it has been consistently delicious! I've tried their better breakfast and chili crisp wrap and both are really good :) If you're looking for a hip place with good vibes, or do work on your laptop, or you're visiting from out of town, I recommend stopping by!

I dropped in for brunch downtown and to get a little work done. I’d heard a lot about the Matcha, Mint & Milk, so I decided to try it. WOW! I only reach for matcha 20% of the time (espresso drinks are my go to) but this drink very well may change things up. Was perfectly creamy, sweet and the Matcha taste was clean. The gluten free matcha rose petal donut was another first try and another absolute new favorite!

Wow, the Flower Child toast changed my life. I'm so sad we don't have Lofty Coffee back home. May have to move here for more. The iced Americano was also wonderful!

Short walk from my hotel. The Bacon Egg Cheddar croissant was 😋😋😋. And also tried their Turkish Latte and Salted Caramel Latte. Both were good but if you're into sweet drinks I would definitely go for the latter. Good atmosphere with it being open to fresh air

First time here was just for coffee but their menu generated another visit. The breakfast selection is fantastic and well prepared. Coffees again were great. This is our favorite morning spot in San Diego.

Cute, open air cafe that’s dog friendly. The sausage egg cheddar croissant, salted caramel latte, and pastry with egg baked in the middle were all delicious. I heard and saw they make their own almond milk which is nice!

This is the kind of place you’ll remember if you ever visit SD again, very nice atmosphere, nice terrace, very friendly people working there and un-American like good coffee to enjoy, along with well served dishes. The portions are good, the taste is marvellous. When in SD and looking for a nice cup of coffee, visit Lofty Coffee!

If you’re in Little Italy and want a breakfast spot that won’t leave you feeling like you need a nap afterward Lofty Coffee is the move. Their “coffee libations” are not just drinks they’re little works of art. I had one from a finca in Honduras that tasted like sunshine in a cup. The menu is full of fresh, quality ingredients that keep you satisfied without feeling heavy: perfectly poached eggs, silky hummus, and French toast that’s indulgent but somehow still feels…clean? The vibe is charming, airy, and perfect for starting your day on a high note. It’s the kind of place you pop into “just for coffee” and end up ordering breakfast too because why not?

Went there for the first time on a neighbor’s recommendation. I ordered my usual black coffee. The coffee wasn’t hot. It was just warm. Everywhere else manages to serve steaming hot coffee. Wasn’t a good experience. I won’t be back. But at least I gave it a try.🤷🏽‍♂️

The coffee wasn't, but beware of the girl at the register who is simply too cool and elevated to be bothered with our questions. For example, when asked if the happened to have white mochas she made her annoyance known by just pointing to the menu and saying "this is what we have". Not even the cute mural on the wall could offset how off-putting her behavior was.

Good coffee, good vibes, but still charging for alternative milks in 2025? Cmon now… A lot of plant-based people in this community and we are still up-charging for not using dairy?

I knew this place was good when we saw a line going out the door onto the sidewalk. The cafe is very small but they crank out lots of high quality coffee drinks for being such a small place. The staff was friendly, the service was quick and the coffee and donuts we got we both amazing. I got the maple latte to try it out and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Very trendy place, will definitely be back again one day!

As a newcomer to the area, I decided to explore local coffee shops and stumbled upon Darkhorse. It's evident that they have their regulars, as I noticed during my morning walks. Typically, there's a short line of people descending their concrete steps. While the lack of indoor or outdoor seating led me to rate the atmosphere four out of five stars, it's clear that Darkhorse is a grab-and-go spot. Despite their limited food menu, they offer satisfying options for a quick breakfast. I tried their signature honey and cinnamon iced coffee, which was absolutely delicious. Both fellow customers and employees were friendly and patient, contributing to a pleasant experience. Notably, their coffee isn't bitter, and their large sizes are comparable in price to a Venti with extra shots at a popular coffee chain.

Great coffee and pastries! I really enjoyed the maple donut and the pumpkin spiced latte. The service is fast and friendly.

Long wait (1h) even though it was prime coffee hour, several people who arrived later and ordered in-person got their orders before us. We placed a relatively simple order. Earl grey donut was disappointing but average compared to most other vegan cake donuts. Americano was under-extracted causing it to taste very acidic. Might have been a one-off experience, but not a great experience.

I walked in expecting some nice third wave coffee, but sadly was met with medium-dark roast stuff that was not that great. I walked into the shop, met a nice lady, and I ordered the espresso. I asked what roast they did, and the lady didn't even know. I ordered the espresso, and sat in what felt like an empty hall with minimal decor. They didn't call my name with the espresso, and gave it to me in a to-go cup(I didn't ask for it to-go). It didn't taste great either. Good equipment, but it was heavily over extracted, tasting like the temp was also too high.

Always have wonderful drinks and a wonderful time! I’ve never been disappointed and go almost once every other week! I hosted a journal club and the team was so accommodating. Everyone absolutely loved their drinks and food, cannot recommend Holsem enough for brunch, a coffee date or a place to do a bit of work! Will be back again next week!

Im not usually a fan of flavored coffee but the orange late was just enough flavor without being overwhelming and added a nice twist to it. They also had a bunch of different cold brew options which I think I will give a go next time. The only downside that I was a bit bummed by was the lack of mugs and glasses. the staff was pretty friendly with great recommendations and was pretty quick for a long line. The atmosphere was pretty nice as well with a modern minimalist look that has a decent amount of natural lighting.

Service was prompt, music was solid, and the coffee was incredible. I got a standard iced latte with oat milk (they don't charge for alt milks, yay!) and it was perfectly balanced. Indoor felt spacious, with plenty of room between tables allowing for privacy and potentially getting work done. Prices were fair given 3rd-wave coffee and ambiance. Would definitely return!

When inside at 7:05 when I'm assuming the place is not crowded. The server/cashier had the biggest smile and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I ordered the Rose Dusted Vanilla Latte- who would have thought eating flower would taste so good. I enjoyed every sip of that latte. I would have wished since I ordered my food to dine in they would have serve it in a mug rather than the paper cup. But, the late was still good. I also ordered the avocado toast with egg. It was your average avocado toast would not ordered it again. I would go back to the place and try something different. I enjoyed my time at coffee shop, I drank my coffee, ate my toast, read a book and felt warmth and cozy. I will be visiting this spot again.

Holsem sure is WHOLESOME - from its simple modernized interior, creative coffee menu, and friendly team! Admittedly I do wish that the shop had more outlets to charge ones devices, seeing as it’s very much so “first come, first serve” but if you’re popping in for a to-go order or checking in with friends to unplug, this is your spot!

I went in for a quick coffee the other day and the place had a really relaxed vibe. The cappuccino I got was pretty good, not too strong, and the pastry I grabbed was warm and flaky. Staff seemed friendly even though they were a bit busy at the time. I liked that there were plenty of spots to sit and the music wasn’t too loud. Overall it’s a nice little cafe to chill for a bit or get some work done. I’d probably come back again if I’m in the area.

Great afternoon coffee spot to just hangout, Internet surf, get some school or work done. Enjoyed the mocha Mexican coffee and the lavender vanilla latte. Both coffee were rich in flavor and texture. Each so down to the end was full. I also had the ginger scone which was wanted and tasted amazing with a bit so overpowering of ginger.

The place was packed and I had about 10 people ahead of me in line before 9am on a Tuesday!!! Crazy. It’s been a good 3-4 years since I last visited, wanted to try out the viral pumpkin bagel. I thought it was tasty! The cream cheese is a slightly sweet pumpkin flavor. I just wish the bagel was toasted a little, not just warmed. I also ordered an Americano since I know how pricey and bland the other drinks can be (from past experience). It was strong and solid. There was a tiny hair in it when i received it at first, but it was fixed with a new fresh one, with no issue. I want to go back and give one of their lattes another chance, I hope they are better now than they were 3 years ago

Went here over the weekend but it’s not the best coffee spot. Right now we understand it’s the hype for the pumpkin bagels but the coffee was not the best. We got two rose honey lattes that tasted nothing like rose and had too much steamed milk. We weren’t a fan that lunch was served only until a specific time and even then almost $10 for a grilled cheese seemed crazy. It’s an OK spot but the parking isn’t the best either. We parked in the small lot and it took us almost 15min to get out because the drive through line goes into the parking spaces, they should work on that. Lots of college kids too just studying.

LOVEDDD thissssss. I had the pumpkin cookie cold brew which omg so good. Perfectly sweet & strong- coming from someone who likes strong coffee. I also had the pumpkin bagel which mmm super cute but it was kind of doughy hard. My dad got it too and his was toasted better so he said it tasted better that way.

Came on a weekend, during peak time, it was very busy but we were still able to get a table! Food and drinks were delicious 😋 I'm not too into pumpkin but still wanted to try the pumpkin bagel, I was relieved it wasn't pumpkin flavored but just pumpkin shaped and cinnamon sugar cream cheese. We added prosciutto to our avocado toast! I believe I got a simple iced mocha and my hubs got a fancy Go Nuts Banana blend. But the empanadas were banging! He loved that the most. Would definitely come again!

I come here often to study and grab a quick bite. The staff is super nice and welcoming, they’re all super attentive and make sure to give you patience. The food is really good too, I’ve tried their pesto chicken sandwhich and it was really great. The atmosphere of the place is super nice and I love their choice of music always! Definitely recommend this place to get ur work done while enjoying a nice cafe.

I love all their variations in matcha lattes. But I also love their lavender latte. The staff are very friendly and the place has a fun atmosphere inside. There are places/booth if you wanna study with friends including computer plugs. The drive thru is a nice feature too. I haven't tried it yet but they also serve wine on top of their cafe selection. For food, I highly recommend their grilled cheese and tomato soup though. So good.

The cup of coffee was wonderful, and the staff was friendly and informative. The barista shared a brief difference between the two different kinds of freshly brewed coffee. This was helpful. I found the coffee shop small, with limited indoor and outdoor seating. It was a challenging environment to read and ponder, which is what I was looking for. However, there were several people at Zumbar enjoying themselves.

A little of a drive to get to this coffee place and also a little confusing because there are like 3 different coffe places together... It is a nice place, gives me jungle cruise movie vibes 😅 I got the honey latte with oatmilk and it was ok, not a huge fan, but I got the cranberry bread and that was delish. Service is ok, not as friendly. To me is a 6/10.

Zumbar Coffee & Tea may be a little off the beaten path, but it's a true gem. This is our go-to spot when we have family and friends visiting from out of town. The atmosphere is fantastic, with locals enjoying their laptops, books, and friendly conversations—it feels like a classic coffee shop that genuinely cares about its customers. The staff is friendly, and the coffee is consistently great. Five stars!"

Some of the best coffee must try in San Diego. Quite place and best crew. Parking is free. Limited coffee options but all the options are worth trying.

I had latte and it was great. It is a good place to work because of the seats, outlets and free wifi.

Went past this coffee shop a million times when I were in school but oddly never tried to come in. The smell of coffee beans is overwhelming cause you can see them being roasted in the back. The ice oat milk latte is highly recommended for its creaminess and not sweet at all.

Great coffee shop. The roasted coffee for sale is high quality and the drinks in shop were great. Customer service and atmosphere were also good. Food does not seem to be their main priority, but overall I really enjoy this place.

I went on a rainy weekday and there were no orders ahead of me, but it still took about 15 minutes to get my coffee. The coffee was artistically prepared and the baristas were friendly. But don't be in a hurry if you come here. Cozy dark interior with limited seating.

Fabulous place, with a great team, who were knowledgeable and helpful. It was especially great to connect with Michael, great service! The coffee is on point! We visited from the UK and we're looked after so well. My wife who generally doesn't do coffee, loved the creme brulee latte! I think I tried most of the piurnovers available, and all we're greatbtasting. Fully recommend!

Mostra Coffee in Carmel Mountain is such a chill and inviting spot. The space is clean, well stocked, and has a moody vibe that feels intentional. The lighting is cozy and the noise level is comfortable enough for real conversations. Our group ordered the Crème Brûlée Latte, Ube Crème Brûlée, Iced Camp Fired, and Salted Caramel Latte. The drinks were beautifully presented with latte art and small ice, and everyone loved their flavors. Service was great. The barista was patient and kind, especially when explaining drinks to my niece. The rustic black wall aesthetic keeps the focus on the people you are with. It is family friendly for quick visits, though not really a place for kids to hang out. Overall, this is one of my favorite coffee spots in San Diego and I always bring visiting friends here.

Gentlemen here are always welcoming :) Beats the sassy attitudes from other coffee shops and they actually have swiss water processed Decaf coffee and all their regular coffee also have details on how they were processed:) Huge plus in my books!

I love coming to this location especially being near the freeway. Coffee incredible, vibes immaculate, and baristas are nice. I felt bad today before going to church there was a lot of customers and only 2 baristas and you can tell they were doing their best and looked tired. But they were so nice dispite the rush. The guy with the bun and glasses and the girl with low space buns, pretty eyes, and such a a sweet smile, of y’all see this, you guys did amazing and I appreciate you both

first and last time here. i was excited to discover a new coffee shop. we got two drip coffees and a croissant. all were mediocre at best. cost 17.50 which is insane and i go to specialty coffee shops every day. beyond the mediocre coffee, the bathrooms were disgusting. we came at 8:30 on a saturday morning. there is no reason a bathroom at a place that costs this much should look like this. i am appalled. i was so tempted to ask for our money back and return the stuff after a bite and a sip but my husband convinced me not to. sorry but will not come back here.

My go to drink is the campfire mocha. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed the last 2 times as they changed the way they prepare it (no more “toasting” of topping on the top). There also has been a price increase?!. When I asked the barista about the topping, the response was “we don’t do that anymore” and then walked away; guess I was “dismissed” :( I tasted my drink and unfortunately, for the second time in row, it tasted like a regular mocha and a bit bitter (slightly better than a mocha I may get from dunkin, but not by much). No “campfire?” here… While I want to support local businesses, raising prices and giving me LESS (from my perspective) does not encourage me to want to come back. I will now be actively looking to get my weekend coffee fix elsewhere as my weekend coffees are my personal treats. If I am going to spend almost $8.00 on a drink, I want to enjoy my speciality coffee with all the bells and whistles.

Such a welcoming little coffeeshop and cafe with great vegan breakfast options. The staff were super friendly, the food was hearty, and the pastries were on par. Really impressed that they had such good food for a coffeeshop. Chill atmosphere with plenty of seating and fast WiFi. My only wish is that they would offer soy milk as an option for drinks, especially with how many vegan options they offer.

We came to Copa Vida to grab a quick bite and work for a few hours. The coffee shop itself is beautiful - it’s open and has lots of natural light. There is a decent amount of seating and good internet. The baristas were all very friendly and efficient. For food: I ordered the chicken caesar wrap - it was mediocre. There were very soggy tomatoes in it. Korean chicken wrap was also okay. The serving sizes are pretty large, so good amount of food. We also got an almond croissant which was stale. Coffee: really good coffee! I really enjoyed my iced vanilla latte and my friend got a lavender latte with cold foam that she also loved.

The venue is great for coffee, we got The Three Kings and the Peruvian filter coffee, which were brewed well and was refreshing for a Monday breakfast. As far as breakfast goes, it was Self seat and order at the bar, which threw me off, as it felt a little hands off, considering the great breakfast they have. We got the vegan sausage breakfast burro burrito with avocado and the Chorizo egg Hash, with the Chorizo subbed for vegan sausage. It was a solid breakfast, and the portion size was good. I would recommend, go in and be bold to order!

I gush over this place every visit as if it’s my first time. It’s adjacent to the Padres stadium but it is RARELY busy… even around comicon. There’s always so many seat options, the service is quick and staff is very friendly. I am always willing to explore other coffee beverages here because the staff’s knowledge of the menu is thorough. The avocado toast makes you wanna slap yo’ momma or someone’s abuela… I’m just saying. It’s soooo good. The pickled onions and radish sprinkled on is top tier! I frequent this location. Love it!

One of the best coffee shops in downtown San Diego. Awesome spot next to Petco park with great coffee. Yes, they might not have the best pastries and their croissants are more like wannabe croissants, but they’re good enough to enjoy with an amazing cup of coffee. [update]: we are going back almost in a regular basis and 90% of the time they get their coffee right, 5 star quality. Since things were working out so well between us, we decided to take our relationship to the next level and order the “Breakfast Burrito 🌯“. But man, some relationships are meant to stay the way they were. It was missing cheese, bacon and hash browns were a bit burnt, and it was missing flavor (maybe it was a healthy version of a burrito? 😄). For now, I won’t change my rating as I rate them for coffee but do yourself a favor and skip the burrito. You’re good the way you are with just your coffee 🫶🏽

Serving a hot drink on glass container is not a good idea. The table wobble so much I spilled a bit of my hot drink on the table so I moved. I asked staff a question and I got a condescending tone as an answer. customer service 👎🏾 go to another coffee shop, there a better option a block away. I have been coming here for the past 3 years and it is always someone unfriendly at the register. This place needs some attention from management team.

Located in SD’s downtown East Village, Copa Vida is a popular, modern cafe perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or tea with a light meal. Their breakfast menu features burritos, brekkie sandwiches, chilaquiles, croque madam, and a variety of toasts. While you for lunch, you’ll find sandwiches, soups, salads, and rice bowls. And of course, their pastries are insanely delicious! I recommend the Honey Madeleine, Olive Oil Cake, or any muffin! The atmosphere is always pleasant, it’s never too loud, and the staff is welcoming. With ample seating both inside and outdoors (high-tops and regular tables), it’s a great place to get some work done on your laptop, visit with friends, or chill with your significant other.

It wasn’t just the incredible V12 cold brew coffee that I absolutely loved about this place, it was the location, community and people. The Barrio Logan was my favorite neighborhood I stumbled upon while visiting San Diego. This coffee was so crisp, not bitter at all, smooth and ice cold. It was so strong I was able to drink it all day and felt amazing! Thank you so much, Cafe Moto!! I can’t wait to come back!

The iconic First Coffee Roaster in San Diego never disappoints! ~We had Organic medium roast drip coffee with a strawberry crème Babka from Split Bakehouse that was otherworldly! Said Babka was A brioche dough, so buttery, and the homemade strawberry jam filling was extraordinary, 6$! (Btw ALL of the Split Bakehouse offerings, savory and sweet are COMPLETELY vegan, meaning “milk, butter, and eggs” are all vegan! They are master bakers to get the incredible flavor in their baked goods!) The coffee at Moto is the best value and taste in organic coffee offerings in all of San Diego, at 3.69$ for the cup, and it was, as always, delightful. No one can beat their elegant black cup and logo!! I like that fresh flowers adorn the tables in the al fresco seating, and the cheery bright yellow chairs are quite comfortable. The staff here is a bit eclectic and bit too somber for caffeine addicts, you know? But, that’s ok, it works! And it might be because their drive through crowd is voluminous and that can bring monotony for them, I am sure! 5 tables for 2 are along the wall and they are bit shaded, and three tables for four are curb side and they have umbrellas. It made for a pleasant morning to be at Cafe Moto! **Also appreciate they do double cups for piping hot coffee, not just the heat sleeve!

I was hoping to go in the shot and pick out my own bag of fresh roasted coffee but they are closed. You can go up to the window or go through the drive through. I like flavored roasted coffees like Cinnamon roasted or coconut flavors. I got there last bag of Vanilla roast but didn't get the vanilla flavor when I brewed in my MocaMaster. Still good coffee but I think I will stick to smaller roasters in North County San Diego where I can watch them roast the coffees and pick out more flavors onsite.

I’ve been to coffee shops all over the country, including many in NYC and LA, and Cafe Moto is my number 1 favorite spot of them all. Absolutely perfect cold brew, great atmosphere, and nice people— Always very satisfied.

Cafe Moto came strongly recommended by my friend, pictured here. I went with the iced Macadamian latte (or something like it) and was pleased. I like the interior design, the focus on simplicity and keeping to a limited color palette.

I was in town for a quick weekend trip, and this was my go to place for coffee early in the mornings to catch up on work before exploring the city. The coffee and lattes were great, and the staff was fast even when they were busy.

They serve Delicious just right coffee drinks and baked goods. We tried the Club sandwich and bread was so soft. The banana chocolate loaf is out of this world. Drinks are amazing and well priced, the food is overpriced and not worth it. Don't get me wrong thre bagle tasted fine i was still a bit hungry when done, size of this thing was tiny and as of q3 2025 costed $13.5... like i understand lox are expensive... but come on $13.5? where on el cajon and 56th where supposed to be in the less expensive area! I love this place just wanted to give criticism. drinks are way better than any chain for almost price parody. so come here for drink and expect to pay a good bit for food

Today I stopped by this coffee shop by chance. I couldn't find a matcha on the menu, so I had a classic latte. Let's start with the atmosphere of the place. Overall, it's good here, I can't say that I really liked it, but it's probably the style of the interior. There is enough space inside and outside. All the seats inside were taken, so I sat outside. In addition to coffee, there are various snacks and a selection of desserts. Although they didn't really appeal to me 😀 Additional accessories and clothing are available for sale. You can also buy coffee beans. The service is nice and your coffee will be brought to your table. Let's move on to the main thing, the coffee ☺️ it is really good here. I liked everything about it. The right temperature of the drink, the right whipped milk and even a nice drawing. The barista knows his job. I am satisfied with the coffee. I recommend coming here for a cup of delicious coffee😍

Such a great little coffee shop. The staff is always so kind and helpful. (And makes great 90’s female rock playlists!) Plenty of seating. Great drinks. What more can you ask for?

I love this coffee shop. It's in a great spot where there aren't many coffee shops. They are warm and welcoming and have a great space. As a diabetic I do have to comment on the alt milk options. It's a bummer to me they only offer cows milk and oat milk, both carb heavy options. That just means this shop isn't for me, but you may love it.

Very cool space to work and study with a delicious cup of coffee. I had an iced americano, and it was so good!!! Their coffee is so flavorful. I loved it. The space is open and nice, seat is comfortable. Service is very good and friendly.

The place looks nice, calming and minimalistic. The menu is small, the pastry selection seemed limited but they were flavorful. I ordered an orange cinnamon latte and I will totally get it again. The ham and cheese croissant also had really good flavors.

The coffee is excellent. The pour over I had was great. Surprisingly though, the most memorable thing for me was the raspberry poptart. That was insanely good.

Genuinely love this place, coffee is awesome, either I’m having an espresso, a pour over or drip coffee, it never disappoints. Baristas are friendly and the spot feels really cozy. The only thing is their hours, they open really late and close early. It’s annoying in general waiting till 7:30 am when rush hour is about to start on traffic to work.

I really enjoy the coffee here, it’s consistently great but the overall experience could be improved. The atmosphere tends to feel warm and stuffy since there’s no AC, which makes it uncomfortable to work for long periods. The music is also quite loud, making it hard to have a conversation with friends. Because of these issues, I’ve stopped recommending the café, even though the drinks themselves are excellent.

Nice atmosphere nice caring employees. They do not have a dark roast coffee just one signature blend from somewhere. I do enjoy the minimalist decor. 5 stars if they had more black coffee options.

12-07-24 Looked up this place to see if it would be a nice cafe to go have coffee and hang out. Once we got to the parking lot, we found a space right away. While placing my orders, we scanned the shop to see if there was a table available for us. At first not a single indoor table to grab, we decided to check outdoor. We sat and waited for our order. While waiting for the server to call my name, I saw an empty table with a huge orange couch right near the cashier. I wasted no time to secure it. Ordered: -Rule 34 $9.90– sour cream spread on sourdough toast atop with smoked salmon and garnished with slices of fresh cucumber adorned with pickled sweet red onion and baby dill. All the ingredients combined well together. I completely enjoyed my snacks. -The Dreamers $6– refreshing, a slight flavor of cinnamon and loved that the sweetness was just right. This is a great place to hang out. Finding a table might take a while depending on the time of day.

What I liked was the location (close to everything, like discount tire and home depot), the funny names of drinks, good service, and they had cream in addition to half and half for my Americano. It was a little bit dark inside, and there were tables with people chatting, so this might be best for groups to study together (if able to tolerate the talking) or for solo workers who put on nice noise-cancelling headphones. Parking was not an issue in this location, but the turning and parking might be tight for some drivers.

The KoKo was the best cold brew I've ever had! Nearly everything is made in house from syrups and milks/creams to the amazing looking pastries. We would have loved to try them all, but settled on a cardamom bun. An excellent choice! It was very busy, which is not surprising. We will look forward to the next time we can travel to San Diego. We'll definitely visit again!

I was at a home inspection on Mt. Alicante and asked the Seller for a local coffee spot. She immediately mentioned the Forum. The 2 women working up from were very nice and accommodating. I ordered an Americano and cinnamon roll. There were people inside chatting, tables outside too. The ambiance was cozy and not "corporate", if you catch my drift. American was delish.

This is one of my favorite spots when I'm at work. Close to UCSD and a great variety. Dubai chocolate croissant is amazing. Tried a few different drinks here and they have all been delicious. Good spot to go.

This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego! Where do I begin...well first let me say I have a very up and down relationship with coffee (body doesn't always react well to it 😞) but I LOVE COFFEE! And my absolute favorite coffee drink of all time happens to be sold here, The BB Code 👑. It's cold brew coffee with their house made banana milk 🤤. Now I can't always have it because it's cold brew and I get kind of jittery with too much caffeine 😆 but it is amazing! I get mine with chocolate sauce on the inside of the cup. I also like matcha and their orange creamsicle matcha is probably the best matcha drink I've ever had (unfortunately it's a seasonal drink) but hopefully they bring it back 🙏. They also bake all their pastries in house lots of unique flavors but everything I've ever tried has been great! Plus they always have a few gluten free/vegan options daily which my son loves (he's on a strict diet). And lastly the staff is super friendly, they always make you feel welcome. I love this place and always look forward to my Friday forum trip.

Great place to have coffee, pizza, sweets, alcoholic drinks. The cafe has outdoors seating options. Cafe Calabria roasts their own beans in house coffee is always fresh and expertly crafted. They use traditional wood fired oven imported from Italy which gives their Neapolitan pizza’s authentic crispy crust. It would be my recommendation for the pizza chief who works in front of people to wear gloves, head cover and even possibly a chief smock which creates a better sense of sanitation and great optics for the customers.

Came here a few times for coffee and pizza. Had a great experience - the coffee is smooth and the pizza is a traditional Italian style. We ordered the margarita and fungi and enjoyed both! Accidentally made a mistake on not reading the ingredients and realized I couldn’t eat something on one of the pizzas. The staff promptly redid it, and was very appreciated! Also, the olive oils are an amazing addition and served on the side.

Love that this place is a cafe in the morning and serves pizza in the evening. It feels so casual European. The quality of both the coffee and food is outstanding. Great ambiance.

First time trying Caffee Calabria and it was such a great experience! Huge thanks to the amazing staff especially the super friendly guy Moises who recommended the coffee for us. Suggestion was spot on, and the coffee was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

Came here specifically for the pizza and it was so delicious. Perfectly cooked, the ingredients are all 😙🤌🏼, and the vibe was real nice. Family friendly too. Our kids loved the pizza. Will definitely go back

I’m new to North Park and I’ve been trying out the nearby spots. So far, this one is definitely my favorite — the kind of place I could come to every day. It smells amazing, the food is delicious, and everyone here is very friendly.

we went this morning & whatever angel girl was working the register deserves a raise!!! She was so sweet and patient. Food was delicious we had the San dieggo & the French toast bagel w/ bananas foster cream cheese spread. It was 11/10 The iced churro latte was also amazing not too sweet but sweet enough. Would definitely love to see that on the regular menu

We stopped by Spill the Beans for breakfast while exploring the Gaslamp District. The spot is easy to find with a bright exterior and plenty of open outdoor seating — perfect for a relaxed morning. Even though there was a line, it moved quickly, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered the San Diego bagel sandwich and a cold brew. The flavor was great, but the bagel itself could have been a bit fluffier and more toasted for that perfect bite. The ambiance was pleasant with music at a comfortable level, though the sound from the bar next door sometimes spills over, especially if there’s a game on. Food: 4/5 – Great taste, slightly dense bagel. Ambiance: 4/5 – Nice vibe but a bit noisy. Service: 5/5 – Fast and friendly. Overall, a great spot to grab coffee and breakfast before starting your day in downtown San Diego.

Cool atmosphere, like the Coffee Pot theme. The bagel order requested 'toasted dark' yet served warm (presumably steamed, not toasted). The second bagel was a specialty gruyere and onion but it did not have any flavor punch, okay but could've been much better Coffee and Cocoa were of good quality and hot.

Ordered from door dash… a bit pricey but I Got a bagel sandwich that was basically untouched by the toaster—why is toasting not standard for these guys? Luckily I was home, Three minutes in the air fryer later, the texture and flavor were totally transformed into one of the best bagels I’ve had in SoCal. And I’m from New England, so that’s basically the highest carb honor I can give. We also got The sun-dried tomato bagel with chive spread… it was next level!

This place is a disappointment, the design and decoration are beautiful but the drink is not worth its a complete waste of money. The matcha is minuscule and lacked the matcha flavor, it was like drinking a mini glass of oat milk for $9.50. They only have non dairy milk options. It is surprising since this place specializes in matcha..

Cute Spot, good food! Wall decor is a little bland, so you don’t get that aesthetic photo if you are looking for that aspect! (7 tables for 2-3) not really accommodating to large groups! They have an adorable Photo Booth in the Lobby!

Holy Matcha is a must visit in North Park, from the adorable vibes indoors, amazing menu of matcha drinks (check out the specials!!), to even having Le Pink Booth? It’s a perfect spot for brunch! They allowed me to host my journal club there and it was SO much fun! Everyone loved their drinks and food and of course enjoyed the photobooth! Ooh also check out all of their cute merch! We loved all the stickers and their postcards!

Holy matcha is a cafe with a beautiful ambience and lots of matcha options. We had the everyday matcha latte and lavender lattes. The lattes range $8 and above. They also have specials. We also had the avocado tomato toast which was yummy, but really tiny for the price. Overall, a nice place to catchup with friends and enjoy a nice cup of latte. They also have a Photo Booth and some cute items to sell.

Ceremonial matcha was really good! Subtly sweet. Good texture. Complimented by the oat milk wonderfully. Matcha horchata was also delicious. Cinnamon forward, sweet and creamy, not too much flavor to mask the matcha. Really balanced. Had a tomato avocado toast. Really tasty, cherry tomatoes were sweet, avocado was creamy and seasoned well overall.

I went to holy matcha for their photobooth and decided to give their matcha a try, but it was way too watered down. I couldn't taste the matcha at all. I ordered their strawberry matcha but I couldn't even taste the strawberry at all. Their photobooth and decorations are cute but I wouldn't recommend their drinks :( And the matcha was $8

At 9:45, I stopped by Ironsmith Coffee for a cup of coffee, the usual. Certainly, there was a buzz about the coffee shop at this time. There were plenty of customers, who were enjoying both indoor and outdoor seating. Encinitas is a beautiful city to appreciate the weather. As you can see by the photos, Ironsmith Coffee is military friendly. Also, the store is pet friendly. While waiting in line, the customer before me had a dog. The barista offered a treat for the dog, and the customer seemed to appreciate it. For the record, Encinitas is a dog friendly town. My experience was a little different. My barista was a new hire, the first day on the job. My transaction was cash, and the register records this differently. It took a moment to work through it. As a new hire, she seemed to be soaking up the experience. I did experience one difficulty, and that was parking. Street parking is limited, and the parking behind the store was full. It was difficult for me to find parking. With this said, it is worth your time to enjoy a coffee drink at Ironsmith Coffee Roasters.

Honestly, this might be the best coffee in North County San Diego. The baristas are so friendly and great at making the drinks. The drinks are timely and consistent in high quality. The owner is hands on and extremely friendly. Also, Heather, the barista is always extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the chai and turmeric lattes are my favorite.

Was in the area and got excited to find this coffee shop with great reviews and was very optimistic. However, once I was ordering and observed the barista’s extraction technique, I lost a bit of hope. They have some creative latte flavors but both of the lattes I tried were “watery” and were lacking that rich, full-bodied taste I always look for - likely due to espresso being insufficiently extracted. The almond croissant was great and worth trying 100%. The staff were incredibly nice, but if you’re looking to do some work, this may not be the best place in my opinion. There aren’t enough spots to work on or plug your computer.

I was visiting Encinitas from Michigan. I chose this coffee shop because of the convenient location during my morning walk. I loved the atmosphere here and the staff was amazing! I will definitely visit again. My coffee was amazing! I chose their signature coffee with some cream and a little vanilla. Yum!

The staff was very friendly. The banana nut muffin was quite dry, and although I requested less milk in the salted honey iced latte, it still turned out rather milky for me— still enjoyable. The atmosphere is perfect for working or studying.

Everything was great except for the service. We were looking at the menu and although there was no one behind us, the woman behind the counter seemed annoyed by the time we were taking. I paid with cash and she kept my change and didn’t offer a receipt. After we received our food, I requested a receipt thinking she would realize she didn’t give me my change, but she didn’t say anything. The place was adorable, food was great, and I would love to leave 5 stars, but can’t after that experience.

I want to preface by saying that this is a one-off experience as I’m not writing as a local and thus this review can be biased, but consider this a “first impression” review. It was a short walk from where my friends and I were staying nearby. The aesthetics are very apparent in the photos - that was one of the best parts of the shop. The service was okay; we were ordering five drinks and getting food items as well, but when asking questions of the menu (as I said we are from out of town and thus it was our first time at this particular shop, although all of us are avid coffee drinkers), it started to feel as though we were becoming an inconvenience to the baristas. The responses were a bit stale, but that’s okay - like I said, this is a one-off experience and thus I do wish to give the baristas the benefit of the doubt! Other than the aesthetics/ decor, I loved that the shop seemed to be dog-friendly. It seems a great stop for those walking their dogs or just strolling by who want to stop in and get a cup of coffee or a pastry. The coffee was pretty good as well, no complaints! If I was in the area, I’d consider stopping in again.

Welp...I had the unfortunate luck of finding the one coffee shop in San Diego without air conditioning! They had a fan...but it was pointed at the employees...rightfully so! The person that took my order was super sweet and patient (as usual, I didn't know what I wanted)...the guy that made my coffee was pretty rude but the granola was good and we don't care about rude boys. Coffee was ok. Shop was super cute...if nothing else, it's worth a visit just to see the decor (and get some granola!)

This place was perfect. The shots were pulled nicely and the milk was steamed to perfection. There were inspirational quotes everywhere and that was awesome. The barista was personable and even gave some suggestions on where to get some good local eats! Definitely coming back before we leave town!

Beautiful little coffee shop with delicious fare. Friends and I dropped by after visiting Fiesta Island Dog Park, and it was fun to see other patrons come through with their dogs, too. I had the chickpea salad sandwich. One friend had a regular avocado toast and tried the mushroom coffee. The other had the two egg plate. We were all impressed!

I like this little coffee shop right in the heart of Carlsbad Village. The food menu is a little bit limited, but everything is fresh-baked and made on site. Revolution Roasters is a great place if you need some peace, comfort and a good cup of coffee. My boyfriend and I came to the cafe today with some friends who were visiting California. We agreed that it was the perfect spot to get coffee and food to start our day before giving them a tour of SD. I've had different types of toast/pastries throughout SD/North County and this place has some of the best. Not only was everything refreshing but all the flavors were complimentary. Additionally, the service was amazing. Everyone there was so kind and inviting. The food did take a bit of time to get to our table but it was worth it. Plus, the drinks were ready very quickly.

While thinking of a coffee moment with my daughter, we decided to try Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad. This open air coffee shop allows you to delight in the lovely weather. This seems like a perfect place to study. The artificial turf appears toddler friendly. Surprisingly, Revolution Roasters does not accept cash payment, which seemed odd. The barista quickly responded to our order, and we soon began to sip on our coffee. I will certainly bring others here to have a good time.

This is a very cute little coffee shop with yummy pastries and coffee. Their morning bun is delish. It can be a little busy at times, but has a nice courtyard area to hang out in.

Stumbled upon this cozy coffee spot while walking through downtown Carlsbad near the beach, and it was a great find! The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of seating both indoors and out. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, a slice of banana bread, and a lemon berry pop tart—all were delicious. A perfect place to take a break and enjoy some treats by the coast. Average prices.

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops in my area! If friends are visiting from out of town, Revolution Roasters is always at the top of the list to take them to! Their coffee is just done so well! I love the unique drinks and food menu for each season. My personal fav is their Christmas drink. They make their own syrups and that syrup is like none other.

Excellent coffee! Honestly premium roast. Only gripe is no mugs for inhouse coffee. Only paper cups. If you’re getting a steamy brew to stay. It needs to come in a porcelain mug. Those are just the facts. I hope they get some mugs in the future

Visited this coffee shop today while hanging in La Jolla. Order caramel Machiatto iced and they our whip cream which was treat. It was delicious. Then I order the chipotle turkey sandwich which was also good. The ladies working there were very nice and attended to me right away when I walked it. I sat on the patio and read for a little while which was nice. Great place to pop in for a coffee, pastry or sandwich.

Scones are a must have 😋 delicious egg burrito too. Love that they partnered with nearby hotel to provide free scone. Would highly recommend this place for breakfast or grabbing a sweet treat to go.

They deserve 4 maybe 5 stars depending on what pastry you get. But I am giving them 3 stars because.....The Brick & Bell in LaJolla no longer offers cheese danishes. 😭 One of our highlights when we vacation in La Jolla. We even called the downtown location and was told for 6 months have not had Cheese Danishes. it's like dating the man or the woman of your dreams and then they ghost you. ☹️💔

Incredible and affordable breakfast spot with only limited outdoor seating. Very cute and country theme. I had a bagel sandwich which was great. They have a decent but small coffee bar for creamer, chocolate, or cinnamon. Good and fresh coffee. Scones looked incredible but u didn't buy any. Next time!!

The food was mid and lukewarm, but the employees were patient and kind when ordering.

This little hidden gem is an absolute must try everything we had was above and beyond any expectations of such a little front but let me tell you it's magic coming out of the back of that amazing place! I hope they stay in business for a very long time and get busier. From a light but good looking breakfast menu to the lunch and dessert offerings. The food is made with love and you can taste it in the way it's prepared portions and presentation. It's the little things that makes a place like this thrive.

Nice small cafe... but almost no view. The trash bins are located right next to the cafe, so it was loud and smelly. The restroom is so outdated... smoothie was delicious, but the wait was long

That place truly felt like a hidden gem, and everything about the experience was incredible from start to finish. The atmosphere had such a unique artistic vibe, with beautiful wooden details that made it warm and inviting. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the tea tasted—it was far better than I expected. The sweets and coffee were equally delicious and perfectly prepared, adding to the overall enjoyment. On top of that, the barista was extremely polite and welcoming, which made the visit even more special. It’s definitely a spot worth returning to and recommending to others.

If you’re looking for a cozy cafe, I’d say this could be the place for you! Wooden tables, hanging clocks, and vintage silver and crystal kitchenware line the walls and glass casings making for a unique antique-shop vibe. When you enter, you’re greeted with the center display table, showcasing a wide variety of delicious teas to choose from! Kind service and a decent amount of wall plugs (at least on the window side of the cafe) so definitely a great spot to get a little work done. But it looks like they may have an indoor seating time limit of 75min (not sure how strictly that is enforced). I had the cinnamon black tea and it was delicious! They had a berry croissant that looked stunning too. I’ll definitely be back to try that! If you’re looking for something to do on a chill Sunday morning, I highly recommend stopping by here for a tea-to-go, and then walk across Sixth Ave to take the free yoga class that happens every week at 11am, right by El Prado St.

Upon entering you can feel the soul in Cafe Bassam; truly. A beautiful wondrous gem serving up gourmet cafes, varietal teas, wine! Out of this world baked deliciousness!!!

This is the coolest spot! We stumbled on this on accident, but so glad we found it. The barista is stunning. Highly recommend the Mexican mocha (iced w oatmilk) and the cortado. We will definitely be back to explore!

This is a special place. A sort of, travel back in time to a beautiful European cafe with all the antiques and nostalgia. The owners are simply beautiful people. The herbal tea selection is top tier and the whole vibe of the cafe is wonderful. A local escape so don't tell many people ....shhhh 😉😅

If you’d like a taste of a Paris cafe in the 1890s. This is a sophisticated parlor. The decor, music and offerings is ideal for thoughtful conversations as well as work focus. Class act.

We were around Mission Bay that day and craving to sip a coffee somewhere, I found this place and it had pretty good reviews. It was a really cute coffee shop, the owner and the baristas of the shop are all Asian, good to see! The coffee is really really tasty! I can feel they are made from really good quality coffee beans. The atmosphere is really cozy, they have lovely arts on the walls. It is a hidden gem, I recommend you come to check it out.

Tasty drinks and breakfast bites. Breakfast croissant was nice and my partner enjoyed his lox bagel. When ordering online you must get in line and tell the person at the cash register you are there to pick up your order. They do NOT place online orders on the table that says "to go order/ pick up orders" which is very confusing. You must check in for your online order then they will make it for you.

Staff was really friendly and loved that they allowed us to have our pug inside since we are from out of state and couldn’t find a place to leave him. Coffee was really good and my son enjoyed his açaí bowl. Bagel and croissant were a little dry missing some more cheese or some kind of dressing but overall we loved this place and highly recommended it.

Great local coffee shop. Great service with good coffee and lots of options. The breakfast sandwich was great. Perfect place to sit and get some work done or to hang with a couple friends and hang out. Definitely recommend.

I dream of their chai latte! I live in Utah but make sure to stop here every time I’m in town for their iced chai latte. They make it in house and it’s sooo good. Their pastries are wonderful too. Update 7/30/25 - I’m back in San Diego and have stopped here for my morning dirty chai with almond milk for the 3rd day in a row 😅 It’s too good!

Great vibes. The baristas were very helpful and the food was delicious! I had an iced white caramel & WOW it was so satisfying. The cafe is close to the park so we took everything to go and ate by the water.

The young lady who took our order ROCKED! But that is as far as it went. Food was terribly bland. Server kinda threw food on table. Took 35 minutes for an order of fries. Smokers were on the patio making it unbearable. Just … not pleasant … for a $30 a head breakfast. Beyond disappointing.

I stumbled upon this café on my way to an appointment and so glad I did! I ordered a cinnamon latte which was absolutely delicious and so creamy and round and taste. I also ordered the scrambled eggs, avocado, and bacon toast, which was incredibly delicious and tasty. Customer service was impeccable! I will be back.

It was our first time visiting, and we didn’t realize how the ordering system worked. You place your order and pay, then wait at the counter for drinks before seating yourself and waiting for the food to be brought out. I had mentioned it was our first time, so a quick explanation from the staff would’ve helped. When the waiter brought our food and I asked about our drinks, he said, “Oh, they’re on the counter—you’re supposed to wait there.” After I mentioned again that it was our first time, he kindly said, “I’ll bring them to you,” which we appreciated. Inside, the music was too loud to enjoy a peaceful meal, so we sat outside. The occasional fly wasn’t too bad, but someone smoking nonstop nearby made it hard to relax. My quiche was overly salty, and the hashbrowns were cold and chewy. The cappuccino was quite good, though. My husband had the croissant sandwich, which was just okay. Overall, the staff was courteous, and the coffee was a highlight, but the atmosphere and food left room for improvement.

Upsetting that this place has gone so downhill. I used to love studying/working here. Won’t be back. Walked in and the guy (tall long greasy dirty hair) is working and I got no greeting, no hi, no welcome, no I’ll be with you shortly, nothing. I have worked in customer service many years and this is just immediately rude, but I blew it off, and waited to order. I order my iced espresso which is usually made so great here. I asked for three pumps lavender. I noticed (used to be a barista for many yrs) there was no sweetener. No biggie simple mistake, go back to the counter and kindly asked if the lavender was put in there, it’s a genuine question since I am charged the 75 cents for it. He first looks at me like he saw a ghost, nods at me, in order to pretend it was maybe in there, then turns to the bar while looking over to another staff, smirking and he then aggressively pumps idk at least 6 plus pumps in there. I couldn’t even count how many. He might as well have poured it straight because it was then alllll I could taste all syrup. On top of that, when he handed my drink back he said “ should be better!” Also. As I was sitting at my table outside I asked nicely if they have some ketchup? Same guy btw, who dropped off my food, just said “yep” while walking away and then just had set it up at the counter. Thanks for ruining my lunch break! Mind you I didn’t ask for my money back the line got super long, and I didn’t have time, but I did leave a note next to the crap drink that i could not even enjoy. My note said “ think about how you interact with a paying customer.. no the drink is not better, it’s all syrup :/ “ hope he read it. I lost some of my money but importantly he needs to know he SUCKS why are you working in this industry?! and why is this acceptable to hire?!?! Hope you do better Living Room or keep losing regulars!

Service can be s-l-o-w as usually very busy. Patrons are 90% college students who go there to study, so seating can be limited. Atmosphere is very casual & like a "living room," with comfy chairs & sofas, in addition to large tables to share & ones for 2-4 ppl. Outside patio. Wonderful breakfasts, desserts, coffee drinks. Personally, I think menu is about 20% overpriced.

Both the food and drinks here were very flavorful and delicious. The atmosphere is also nice, with lots of wooden furniture and older style decorations, creating a homey vibe. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Out of the norm experience and design, over the top and almost like Jurassic park meets Disney. Breakfast tacos were solid and open air tables were perfect indoor/outdoor mood. Even if Ronald McDonald was weirdly hovering behind me.

This is definitely not your average morning coffee place- love the eclectic and unique decor and branding on menus. Only tried coffee, but their food and plate-ware looks lovely. Also they have a bar. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, with red umbrellas to provide shade.

Eclectic and upbeat coffee shop that seems like a place you could sit at for hours (and they also have drinks!) Good, funky vibes, awesome sound system, lots of art and attention grabbing detail that’s mentally stimulating. The food/latte were both very solid and there was attention to detail in service. I fell in love with this spot the moment I walked through the door. Every corner is full of personality, and it somehow all just works. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool, with plenty of cozy seating options both indoors and out. Whether you’re there to catch up with a friend, get some work done, or just enjoy a quiet moment, there’s a perfect spot waiting for you. The staff was super friendly and on point, which just added to the great energy of the place. Since it was still early, I went with breakfast tacos and a Cortado—simple, classic, and done so well. The tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the Cortado was smooth, strong, and just what I needed to start my day. Definitely one of those places you instantly want to come back to.

This is my, idk, fourth time coming here in two weeks? I love this spot. It's consistently been the ideal area to do my last four hours of work for the day. I've been spending so much time here I figure I'd better leave a review. Thanks for having me, you all <3 The service is great. Every barista/bartender/employee I've interacted with so far has come across as genuine, relaxed, and pleasant. None of that saccharine customer service excessiveness, nor standoffishness or tersness. They move through their work with an ease that belies their experience and comfort in their role. What's more, there seems to be a small community of regulars (and/or coworkers on their days off?) coming and going, and they're always welcomed with familiarity by name. The atmosphere is fun without being distracting. A sound system plays its records just loud enough to hear throughout the floor without being so loud you can't hear your neighbor. There's something to look at no matter where you're facing (Consortium Holdings interior design going maximalist for this one), there are stools at a large, welcoming, open bar, a few one- and two-seaters with a breezy view of San Diego, a fenced-in patio nook for smaller groups, a large streetside patio boxed in by a delightful menagerie of plants, and more. There are always plenty of people coming, going, studying, working, chatting, yet I've never had trouble finding a comfy place to sit. Yes, there's wi-fi. The caffeinated beverages are great so far. I love seeing a cortado on a menu, their espresso is solid, and that Basic Drink is surprisingly good. I haven't tried their liquor. The food is also better than CH usually gets credit for. So far I don't think I've had any disappointments from their breakfast fare. It's expensive, of course, but the quality and craft is noticeable. Pop in if you're in the area. Cheers, you all.

I ordered the Vanilla Mint Cold Brew with Almond Milk and the Moniker Melt which was a fancy turkey bacon sandwich in the best way - I loved it so much. There is a consistent line but it moves quickly. The staff is friendly and service was very fast. Theres plenty of seating options too inside or outside. As a remote worker, I found it to be a great spot to work!

We visited this coffee shop on our day off to grab some coffee and relax. The interior was quite interesting — they also sell clothes and other unique items, and the space is very open with lots of seating. Definitely a cool and creative atmosphere. As for the drinks, the coffee was just okay. But honestly, I didn’t like the matcha at all. It was quite bitter — not one of the better matchas I’ve had. I’m not sure if it was the way it was prepared or just the quality of the matcha powder, but it wasn’t enjoyable for me. The service was fine — nothing special, but nothing bad either. Overall, it didn’t leave much of an impression. Just a regular café to maybe stop by and grab a coffee. I also had a muffin — that was actually good.

Beautiful coffee shop location. They get SWAMPED.. line wrapping around and out the door. I stood in line for 10 min or so and ended up ordering on the website (no upcharge, highly recommend) since I wasn't making much progress moving in the line. I sat down and ordered. Drink came out about 25 min later. Not their fault though, HIGH volume and its hard to beat their quality in this area. You can tell that groups love to come here and meet. There are plenty of tables and group spots for a small group study and even personal study. The quality of the food and drink were well and the batista was able to remember I verbally requested a 'for here' cup. I'm really thankful for that!

When the barista tells you the only coffee available is the “house” drip or an americano, I get very skeptical but I went out on a limb and got the drip coffee - it was out of this world. It must’ve been a blend of an African and Indonesian as it had very fruity notes combined with earthy undertones. Beautiful spot to chill!

After waiting for 15-20 minutes(got in line about 10:30am on a Saturday) just to order coffee, it better be the best coffee I've ever had. It wasn't. Ultimately the latte I had was watery and had very little flavor. Moniker has signs everywhere which say "skip the line and order online." I tried to do that but they only have food as an option to order online, except they are marked as out of stock. Once we approached the register to order coffee we found out they actually weren't out of stock. Moniker might be the most unorganized coffee shop I've ever been too. Most table are being taken up by a single person with a laptop, some without any coffee or food. It's incredibly loud in the space. The person who took my order was polite but the barista was the opposite. Skip the stop and find somewhere else which has better tasting coffee and an efficient front of house.

Located right on Logan Ave in the heart of Barrio Logan, Por Vida is a cool little cafe with loads of artsy local style. Everywhere you look you’ll find colorful artwork, including the glittery table tops which reminded me of cool low riders. I enjoyed my iced De La Olla Latte, although I didn’t pick up the orange flavor. It was delicious nonetheless. This is a great cafe to sit and soak up the neighborhood vibes.

I haven't been down this part of barrio logan in a decade, but I came down to eat lunch at Hayes burger then came here for a coffee. Very cool spot with lots of interesting options. I tried the horchata cold brew following the rec of another reviewer and I was not disappointed. It was delicious! I would certainly come back here now that I know about it. Decor inside is very cool as well (see photos).

Although this place does have nice decor and an overall great aesthetic to it, the coffee was okay. The cortado I got was super bitter and harsh, not very enjoyable. The milk was also not steamed very good, it was too foamy and not very silky or smooth, which is what I typically expect from an american cortado. The espresso seemed to be under extracted and lacked any redeemable qualities. Not to mention the presentation of my drink was quite disappointing. If you would like quality coffee from experts this place most likely isn't for you. But their specialty drinks seem fun, so if you prefer flavored drink perhaps this cafe is more geared towards you!

Love this spot. If you are tired of boring coffee drinks you need Por Vida in your life. They have an amazing selection of delicious and unique specialty coffee drinks. They offer oat and almond besides dairy creamers. The atmosphere is fantastic wirh art and plenty of seating and if you love some Frida Khalo then this is your vibe. Wonderful service. There is no restroom so go before you get here. Parking isn't easy but if your patient it switches over took about 2 times around the block but then we parked out front. No sweat. The latte I got had orange and cinnamon and I used oat milk. Richa nd creamy and gourmet. This isn't some hack job coffee spot trying to be cool. This is authentic coffee lovers and they take pride in their craft. I will be back. Tell them Meek sent you xo

When in Logan thou must have Por Vida drank! From the spicy lemonade to the coffee all of it is bomb. If you really wanna experience this place you gotta come on "Manny Mondays!" He always has a great new drink to punch your taste buds with a kick! The girls work fast, so the drinks come quick, always satisfied with every drink I have tried here. They even have Boba drinks for you Boba heads and kids! Support local business, and the men and women who make this place what it is everyday! Find new locations in the Imperial ave co-lab, and Old Town! Thank you Milo, Manny, Alien, and the gang! Every location is worth visiting.

This place has great vibes!! The service is stellar!! Isaac takes the time to greet and chat with you and he genuinely cares about serving others and making connections. The Matcha was fire!!

FINALLY got to try out Saigon after having it on my cafe bucket list for over a year, and the coffee was AMAZING. I love Vietnamese coffee, and this spot is an instant favorite. When I arrived there was a line out the door, but it moved very quickly; with a cafe full of people, I only waited for about 5 mins after ordering for my drink to come out. I only spent 8-10 mins. between waiting in line, ordering, and then receiving my drink, which was awesome since pretty busy and it was Labor Day weekend. The staff were very sweet and welcoming. I got their Hanoi Egg Coffee this time, and it was the perfect mix of strong, bold flavor coffee with a creamy and sweet egg foam. My friend recommended this place to me, and I’m so thankful he did! I’ll definitely be back!

Best Vietnamese coffee in town!!! We have gotten the original Vietnamese coffee. Delicious! Today we tried the Millionaire coffee which has a tiramisu cold foam. Yummy chocolaty cold foam!

Hands down my go-to coffee spot. Saigon Coffee has gotten me HOOKED on Vietnamese coffee AND gets me out of bed earlier due to their early operating time. It comes out fast despite ALWAYS being busy, and NEVER disappoints. Compared to the price of other coffee spots, it’s more than reasonably priced, especially for its quality!!!

Great place, don't go here if you're expecting traditional coffee though. I must admit, my knowledge of Vietnamese coffee is rather limited, so I wasn't sure what to expect when arriving here. I was greeted with smiles and happiness as I ordered my pure black. I took a sip of the medium-dark roast coffee, and was pleasently surprised by the best hazelnut flavor in coffee I had ever tasted. It wasn't overly powerful, it was subtle, and not artifical tasting. It complimented the coffee's bitterness quite nicely. The atmosphere was awesome too, with wide open windows and pretty decor. The employees behind the counter said thank you to every leaving person as well, just a wonderfully pleasent environment. If I lived around here, this is the place I would visit often. I'm happy to recommend Saigon Coffee.

Just found my new favorite coffee spot in San Diego! I came in on their birthday/anniversary event and tried the Millionaire drink, and omg, I'm hooked! The coffee is slow dripped, super smooth and rich, and the tiramisu cream on top? Pure magic. It's the perfect balance of sweetness without going overboard. The place has this chill, cozy vibe, and the staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home. Definitely my new go to spot. Drinks: 5/5 - Unique, rich, and flavorful. The Millionaire is a must-try! Ambience: 5/5 - Relaxed, cozy, and perfect for hanging out. Service: 5/5 - Super friendly staff that makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Service 5/5 Matcha with egg foam 3.5/5, not because their matcha/egg foam isn't good - but because it is not a combo i personally like. Individually the matcha & egg foam was decent 4/5. So I recommend getting their vietnamese coffee with egg foam instead

Very good coffee and I can see why the line is long! The Ha Noi coffee with egg cream top is a must try. The egg cream is sweet. Very strong Vietnamese authentic coffee taste.

Super cute summery café with delicious brunch options. Their strawberry matcha was absolutely incredible, and I also enjoyed the lavender iced latte. I had their blue whale brekky; sourdough bread was perfectly crispy but unfortunately the eggs were too well done and quite dry. The ube pancakes were moist and flavorful with fresh blueberries- absolutely recommend. You order at the counter but they have some nice seats outside. On the pricey side but worth it. Would come again!

I really enjoyed the coffee shop. I went there to work but it is busy for working and the music is loud. It is better for hanging out. I had a rose tea and really enjoyed it. The parking situation is a bit difficult and hard to find, buy over all it was a great experience.

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place, but the service left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. When we walked in the staff member at the counter didn’t greet us. She just stared silently and looked unhappy to be there, but that’s okay really. I said hi, but still got no response, which was awkward. I ordered my dish, and while my boyfriend was mid-sentence giving his order, she interrupted him, handed him a table number without explanation, and said “here take this.” We tried to add drinks but before we could, she turned around to chat with her coworker and ignored us completely. I said “excuse me” twice & no response. So we didn’t add drinks we just paid which was ridiculous. I decided I’d walk back up & let her know that we didn’t appreciate how dismissive and rude the service was, she just said “uh okay” & rolled her eyes. No apology. Not surprised. I phrased it in a kind way because we all have bad days, but customers and people in general don’t deserve that. As customers, we don’t expect over the top friendliness, but basic courtesy is the bare minimum. Hoping the management sees this and addresses the service since no one should feel like a burden just for placing an order. Needless to say we won’t be back. The food was good but not worth that experience. I recommend The Cottage.

Disappointed first visit.. First time visiting San Diego and decided to try Blue Whale, unfortunately, it was a big letdown. There was no greeting from the cashier when we walked in, and the lowest tip option at checkout was 18%, even though we had to grab our own silverware, water, and find our own table. I ordered the steak and eggs, which the menu said came with sunny-side-up eggs exactly what I wanted. But it came out scrambled. When I asked the server to correct it, he made a face before taking it back to the kitchen. Not a great attitude for such a simple mistake. My friend ordered the ube pancake because it sounded unique, but the blueberries on top were clearly unwashed and had visible dirt on them. That’s just unacceptable. From both the food quality and the service, it’s clear they don’t pay attention to details or care much about the customer experience. There are plenty of better spots around San Diego. I wouldn’t recommend this one.

We had a delicious and breezy Sunday brunch on the patio today and it felt so good!! We arrived at 9:30am - the line moved quick and we were able to find a table with no wait. The drinks were not overly sweet and we both loved our dishes. I ordered the Morning Sando and it was perfectly crisp, with a soft buttery middle. The hash brown had no business being as good as it was - in hindsight I wish I had ordered an extra!! If you arrive anytime after 10, the wait for a table starts to increase. There's no AC inside, but they keep the windows open to let the breeze though. The patio has ample umbrellas and we were seated in full shade which was nice. Blue Whale is quaint, but super cute and absolutely worth a visit!

Exceptional! Freshest and most delicious smoked salmon toast I’ve had to date. Chicken and waffles was unique and great flavor!

Large selection of coffee choices. Also had food options although we just got coffee this time. We ordered the Peppermint Patty and Frozen Banana, both were typical drinks. Atmosphere was cool though. Very spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Seemed to be a good place for studying or just to chill.

Random pop in and I was pretty impressed with the space. I got my standard basic mocha and my wife got her espresso. Both were good. Wish I had a spot like this near me.

Not bad! I think I’d come back. I came here with my husband so we can do some schoolwork. There were many others with their computers doing some type of work as well. Good environment to study, not too loud so I was able to focus and not be overwhelmed. We ordered some sandwiches & they were done within maybe 5 minutes? Possibly less? It was fast. Husband got a drink of some sort and that was fast as well. People who worked there seemed nice. Only complaint would be parking is a little annoying but it’s not the cafés fault, it’s just a product of the environment. Bathroom was nice and clean for the most part. Otherwise, nice! I’d recommend checking it out at least once!

Worst Lestat's in the chain! Music is entirely too loud and they are OBSESSED with country. I mean what is that? It screams rainbow capitalism but also forced. What are they trying to convey here? Outside of that it's ok. If you want to study here just know your noise cancelling headphones can only do so much. If you need a charge spot, there are plenty. The crowd size is low in the mornings. Overall you can skip here unless you are desperate for a new coffee shop.

Great lattes, nice baristas, kickass decor.

Overall good place. Guy ringing us up wasn't the friendliest. It would be much nicer if they brought your food to the table. I got the avocado toast. Very bland. Probably the worst avocado toast I've ever had.

Really want to like this place. Late night coffee shop! Yay. But it failed on all the important stuff. Spiced chai latte was just hot milk. No comfy seating. The brownie was terrible. Waited ages to be served. Maybe it’s just not their night

Great atmosphere with all the plants and greenery. Jalapeno cheese galette was meh, but the cappuccino and almond croissant were nice.

Worst matcha I have tried in my life, sweet and artificial flavoring. Also, the green tea was the cheapest they could find. I thought it would be a good quality loose tea not the ones they sold at the 99 cents store. Very disappointing. And they’re pricey on top of everything. Such a nice and full of nature place that you would think they would care more about what they put in their drinks. Sad they don’t. Never again.

Love this beautiful, friendly outdoor cafe with great coffee and pastries. Especially love the eco-friendly option of choosing a cool mug for your coffee (instead of toxic throwaway cups).

Really nice relaxing cafe with lots of green and nature. Love the big tree in the middle. The coffee was good. Service was pretty slow, I was in the line for 30min.. nice slow sunday kind of cafe.

What a wonderful surprise! Hidden away in a quiet small area is wonderful friendly service. Plus great coffee and pastries. My blackberry gallette was so good. Not too sweet and lots of filling. My pretty latte was really good! Plus the mug! It had my name on it. FUN! Plus, lots of seats. Some in the shade, some in the sun.

I recall stopping by this inviting yet hidden Cafe along with my sister during our travels on a gloomy day. We both were enamored by the atmosphere, the convivial baristas, and the full experience of sitting to rest and choosing our own mugs just how we would at our grandmas home. This space reminds me of a fairytale where travelers would stop by a secret, cozy place to reset and regain the necessary strength to move forward with optimism. I’d love to recommend anybody to visit Garden Cafe, enjoy a comforting beverage/pastry OR both!) and take a break from the rush life can bring. 🪴

This is the new Copa Vida on Broadway but it looks like they kept all the reviews and pictures from the old spot. The new location is even more spacious, great place to hang out between Court appearances or what have you. Food and service are good, coffee is great....

Ok, this place is absolutely amazing!! I wish i wasnt in a hurry to really enjoy this place.from the open concept styled room setup to the oval counter top where all the coffee making magic happens. This place is a must if you ever find yourself in downtown San Diego! I order a simple americano light ice with almond milk. It was out of this world, i am very particular with my coffee, and just like my coffee. But copa vida was simple and just a joy to drink! And the prices were not bad at all. I wish i could have bought some coffee that they served me, because it was delightful. Great customer service! I loveeee this place and will be back soon!

Came in and got a lavender latte for my girl. Snapped a pic of the beautiful latte art before placing a cover on the lid. Sent the pic to my girl before delivery and her response was, “holy gorgeous”. Taste was unbelievable as well. Well done!!

The Parakeet Cafe juicery in the cove is one of my favorite spots to grab a coffee! I love stopping by here in the mornings to read a book. The coffee is strong & delicious. I tried the lemon blueberry scone today & I’m so glad I did! I’ll definitely try it again. The baristas, Alec & Erin are always polite & kind. The view of the cove & the Pacific Ocean are hard to beat. It is gorgeous. If you’re a local or visiting from out of town, you definitely have to stop by!

Parakeet Café in La Jolla is one of my favorite spots! The team here is always welcoming, helpful, and genuinely friendly, which makes every visit such a great experience. I especially want to give a shoutout to Alec—he goes above and beyond every time. His kindness, attentiveness, and positive energy really stand out and make me look forward to coming back. The atmosphere is inviting, the food and coffee are always top-notch, and the people here truly make the difference. Highly recommend!

Super nice coffee house, across the road from the ocean and beach. Very nice interior and there is an outdoor decking area with beautiful views. Coffee itself was really nice and smooth. There was plenty of alternative milk selections (free of charge) which is refreshing. The pricing is average for San Diego, latte costing $6. Otherwise the coffee shop is a good choice if you want a good coffee in La Jolla.

This is such a cute cafe! The Parakeet cafe is inside the La Jolla Cove Hotel. I enjoyed the coffee and baked goods. What I didn’t enjoy was the excessive mark up in prices unfortunately, this isn’t unique to La Jolla area so I didn’t take that into account for the rating. Honestly, the service carries this rating pretty heavily. The baristas were very personable and gave some awesome local recommendations. I went here a couple times during my stay.

This store has the best location and views! I always like the drinks from Parakeet. Although it’s kinda pricey, drinks are very delicious. I enjoyed their tea, matcha latte and chai. Plus you can’t beat the view here. I’m so glad now La Jolla Cove has a coffee shop that can see the views.

Muffins were old, maybe they are made at other locations and sent to La Jolla? Not fresh and very hard. All the tables were dirty and dusty, like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The drinks took over 15 min when we finally asked the barista was sitting on his phone and told us he forgot about our drinks Other locations in Del Mar and Little Italy are great, this one is not representing the brand well.

There are so many places to try coffee around San Diego, but I was rather disappointed with my first and most likely, last visit here. While there was only 1 person ahead of us, the wait was over 25 minutes from arrival to coffee in hand. While waiting on only coffee, I watched the barista place drinks and food on counter and flies immediately landed as they didn't wait for customers to pick up the food. At one point, one barista swiped the flies away and even dumped a cup of ice flies had landed in while preparing drinks, to no avail. Flies were visible everywhere, which instantly crossed this off my return-to list. Coffee was just okay. Kudos for using paper straws, however, mine didn't even last 5 minutes before falling apart. I was also disappointed that my drink was 1/3 whipped cream, 1/3 ice, 1/3 actual coffee, and was literally gone in a few sips. The place was clean, decor was fresh and inviting and there was more than ample seating both indoors and out.

I ordered the açaí bowl, breakfast sandwich and coffee - all delicious. This is my first time at this location, and it did not disappoint. Perfect place to work or chat with friends. The open space is full of natural light and seating. Friendly staff too. I’ll be back!

Good coffee, good sandwich. Cute place. Service was meh. Lady1 was attentive while placing my order. Lady2 felt like she was making me a favor when I asked for the WiFi password. She mumbled something three times. I finally had to ask Lady1 for it. It would have been nice if they poured my coffee “for here” on a reusable cup instead of a disposable one. I may come back since I don’t need the password no more and I will bring my own cup...

Lovely bar and coffee shop combo with food and paninis out of the ballpark... The cashier and barista man Jules, was very helpful and on spot with customer service and concern... Excellent that are with food and beer + coffee shop combo out of the ball park.. I will definitely invite friends and family in far and near to this coffee shop it's got a great Meryl and nice seating for patio and inside dining..

Honestly I love the environment and their WiFi is good for working. But this is the type of place that up-charges transactions 30c for using a credit card, and if you ask for a cold brew with no ice, they only fill the already small cup 2/3rds of the way. The coffee tastes good, but this low level shakedown leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth every time.

Really cute hipster coffee shop. Liked the lemon bar a lot and good espresso. However the girl that worked there, I think her name was Danielle?, was super rude and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there at all. I won’t be going back due to the service I received from her.

The coffee isn't too bad, nor that great. I live in the building and prefer to go to other coffee locations. They close the kitchen an hour before they close. They shut down half their business an hour before closing, so to speak. I wonder if their pastries are in house or if someone else makes them. Most of the pastries start at around $3. That's more than half the price of their coffee. Obviously the location is convinient to me, which is why I come here. One star for the location, one star for their coffee, and half a star for their pastries.

This is a must see and eat location on the beautiful Coronado Island. This is our second time making it to this dinner and the atmosphere along with the service are just a great experience that brings you back to a bright 1940's. The variety of food including American and Mexican food provides a good mix for breakfast and lunch combination that will keep you coming for more. I enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros which was a decent portion with my eggs cooked as requested. Seating is limited, but the food and drinks comes fast so we got seated in a decent time. We will be back again to enjoy Clayton's coffee house!

Love this place!!! Vibe is 60/70's diner. My husband and I was Visiting the area and decided to patron a small business. So glad we did! Everything is made from scratch! Awesome food, made to order. Staff was very welcoming, warm, and great customer service. We had the Philly Steak and Cheese w/ a huge Honey Bun to go. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely return!

This place is a gem. We stumbled upon it on our last day of vacation as we were visiting Coronado island and on a 1.5 hr waitlist for what looked like a delicious but pretentious restaurant that was nearby. After finding out that a wait for a table at Clayton’s was only 10 minutes, we decided to eat there instead. We sat at the counter and our server Jaxy was great. My husband and I ordered her suggestion of the carnitas and chorizo hash with a cinnamon glazed pancake. My daughter had a hot dog and fries. Everything was delicious and the retro vibe of the place is super cute and colorful. The music was fun too; a combo of 80’s and 90’s alternative/new wave. Super happy we stopped in here instead because by the time we left, the other restaurant texted to say our table was ready. Thanks for the awesome time, Clayton’s - you made our day.

I came here years ago and still remember the 50’s diner feel. I was delighted come back and experience it again. Hasn’t changed a bit. So glad to see a small diner like this survive in such a beautiful place. Perfect place for a burger or breakfast. Everything on the menu is looks amazing. Shakes are killer!

We had awesome service by Dern! He was polite, friendly and outgoing. (Killer now tie too!) He made our experience so fun! I even witnessed his care for his customers as I watched him ensure an elderly man did not fall walking to the bathroom. Also, he seemed to interact positively with his teammates too. Thanks Dern! The facility and restrooms were clean. It was like stepping back in time. There are a lot of nostalgic things to take in. My husband and I split a classic hamburger, crinkle fries and a strawberry malt. All of it was delicious. My husband said, “if we lived here, I’d be a regular.”

Great location for anytime of the day. Wasn’t too crowded on the two occasions that I have visited. Ordered the Prime Ribeye which came with a lot of sides. I would have to say that I’m only giving 3 stars because the dish overall felt a bit too greasy, vegetables were heavy with oil which I wasn’t a fan of. Was looking for something lighter. Fries were fried perfectly, would highly recommend. The steak itself was a bit greasy and thin, but it tasted fine. Would go to a steak restaurant though for steak next time. Will have to say that though the tortilla chicken soup was small, it was very good. Will be coming back to taste more of the menu.

My daughter and I tried Clayton’s Cafe for the first time. We went during the non busy hours so we did not feel crowded. We really enjoyed the classic 40’s cafe atmosphere. The service was excellent and our food was delicious. We ordered a BLTA with an egg, the Black Forest Ham croissant sandwiches , with sweet potato fries on the side. For drinks we ordered a coffee, and a matcha iced tea. Good quality food ! Photos don’t do justice! You definitely receive your money’s worth! We look forward to going back again.

Great place for an awesome breakfast. Enjoyed a scooped wheat bagel with egg and cheese, bagel with lox and cream cheese as well as a delicious pumpkin muffin. The hot cafe latte was perfect! The selection of delicious pastries and friendly staff made it a first time very pleasant experience! Definitely recommend and would love to return.

Really tried liking this place but I’ve never been impressed, especially with how much you’re paying. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and asked them to add on bacon (extra $3). Paid $8 for a matcha latte that literally tasted like 90% water. Got my breakfast sandwich and turns out their $3 bacon comes from a bag of bacon bits. $3 for bacon bits is crazy. Not to mention the not so friendly staff this time around. This place is cute but I am consistently disappointed every time.

Cool coffee shop built into a historic train station. There is a large indoor and outdoor seating for hanging out (no wifi if you are trying to work). Coffee and food that we had was good...decent amount of food options beyond just pastries. Service was friendly...though took some time with how busy it was. There was a pretty consistent line out the door through the whole time we were there on a Saturday morning. Cool spot...would definitely go back.

Recently tried this unique coffee spot after living in the area for years and we were pleasantly surprised! Our group ordered an assortment of baked goods from these huge muffins, cookies, pastries and even this savory cheese bread and they were all amazing! The baked good section is a little chaotic but it fits well with the “old timey” charm of the place. Very cool place to come enjoy a fair priced, eclectic, coffee shop in Encinitas. We’ll take this spot over a commercial coffee joint any day. Come for the vibes, stay for their incredible cheese bread bacon thing!

Good coffee! Friendly ladies working too. So much seating! Both indoors and out. It’s airy but definitely not air conditioned, so be prepared. The garden salad was fine. Nothing exceptional but par for a coffee shop. The lattes were excellent, definitely the highlight. They have a super cute gift shop too!

Really Cool Coffee Shop with Delicious Coffee and yummy baked goods (baked fresh on premises daily). Good breakfast/lunch options as well. Love the outside large patio—great for hanging out, studying, meeting, people watching. Dog friendly. Limited parking though..a few spots on street in front and a tight, small parking lot in back. Good espresso, dark roast blend. Cappuccino to go was good milk lost its sugars. Great aromas in the little space and organized well. Service was prompt and good. Not a huge fan of the blend notes, lacked complexity for a blend.

They are a bit hidden. But friendly staff, clean place and superb coffee. The staff know their business. I loved the beans and the roast. I left buying the beans to brew coffee at home too. It's not a bakery but the croisant was also tasty. I will definitely go again.

I usually drink a long black(americano). But Honey&Cinnamon Latte is signature menu here. So I tried and I like it! Smooth and not too sweet taste! Good for Fall Season😊

Best coffee in San Diego! Without a doubt try the vanilla hot bean lattee 😍😍😍 the staff are all so nice and the coffee is made with care and perfection.

West Bean is definitely one of my favorite local coffee stops. Their Salted Carmel Latte is one of the best lattes in San Diego! Also their breakfast sandwich on brioche bun with lemon aioli spread is super tasty. Topping it all off are several pastries like an almond croissant, which are always fresh and yummy! West Bean is the best local place off Balboa Park! Check them out!

I haven’t been able to find a place to get a good pour over in San Diego; the girl that made the pour over didn’t seem to know what she was doing, water too hot and didn’t use the proper filter; coffee tasted like burnt coffee.

Every time I come here I get great service. The staff know what they’re doing and are friendly and efficient. This is my go to place for late night coffee! 👍🏽👍🏽

My main reason for stopping in was to use the print kiosk; however, I decided to grab a 12 ounce French roast. I'm glad I did. Dark but not bitter. Not too acidic. The atmosphere of this cafe is awesome. Some cool art posted for sale. Fair price on the coffee. It was less than $3 before tip. Cashier was really friendly in answering my questions. Thanks!

Great spot for late night students and early morning locals. It fills up and sometimes you may share a table for 4 with another person, unknown. IT'S OK! Sharing is caring. Just split the table and get busy. This cafe is cool.

The overnight barista with white hair is very rude and lies. Terrible service, the food they made was bad, and the drink was half full. They need an attitude adjustment, and better training. I won't be coming back at night. It's terrible because this is the only 24 hour one of the Le Stats locations. The others are not 24 hours. That one employee ruined this spot.

Latte was perfect, service fast and friendly. Highly recommend coming here to enjoy a cup of coffee very chill atmosphere.

I've never liked the coffee here but I come because my colleague likes the spot and it's a midway point for us. I usually just get tea. Today, the cashier working (a man with greying hair who seems to hate his job) jumped on me because he thought I'd gone in with coffee. He started naming policies that supposedly prohibit me from going into a coffee shop with coffee - made a scene. Had he instead asked me what I was drinking, I could have told him it was a protein shake - caffeine free! I don't expect outstanding customer service of anyone, but I also don't think it's appropriate to harass patrons without asking if they're even doing what you think they're doing. The kicker was once my colleague arrived, I told him what happened and he said he's come in here with actual coffee and nobody has ever harassed him for it. Anyway, there are better and nicer (including personality-wise) coffee spots in the city. Go to Lovesong, Provecho!, Coffee & Tea Collective, Holsem. And cashiers there are kind.

The staff is always extremely friendly and warm. My cup had more foam than latte, the last time i was here. Such a great spot to study and work though!
