Rudi's Original Stroopwafels at Albert Cuyp Markt in Amsterdam is a must-visit for those craving traditional Dutch stroopwafels. The founder learned the secret recipe from a renowned Gouda baker and continues to use it, ensuring an authentic taste. These thin waffle cookies with a sweet syrup filling are made fresh daily and served straight from the grill at this charming stall.
By far, the best stroopwafel that I've tried during my time in the Netherlands. Not only the flavour is sublime, but the experience is really worth it, it's beautiful to see the family working with so much passion, and they're super nice people. The line can seem quite big, but it moves really fast. My first visit was in 2023 and I absolutely loved it. So when I came back to the Netherlands for my exchange this year, I knew what was my first stop in Amsterdam. I strongly recommend everyone to try it.

This place was actually quite enjoyable — the taste was definitely not disappointing. Although the queue was a bit long, it added to the anticipation. The dough had a lovely aroma and just the right level of sweetness, not overpowering at all. It’s the kind of treat that feels balanced and well thought out. However, if we’re talking pure value for money, I personally feel that the red-themed shop nearby still wins. That one delivers a more satisfying experience in terms of both flavor and portion size. Still, this spot is worth trying if you’re in the area and don’t mind the wait.
Phatt H — Google review
Rudi's was my first experience with fresh stroopwafels and they were delicious! The waffle was thin and crispy and the filling was not overly sweet. I prefered the version without chocolate. I visited the Albert Cuyp Market on a Friday around 11 AM and there was a line for Rudi's but it moved very quickly. Note that the line is mostly uncovered so you'll be exposed to the elements. You can also buy a package of 10 stroopwafels, which makes great gifts. Just make sure if you choose to buy the metal tin for the stroopwafels, you grab a package of stroopwafels as well (otherwise you will have just paid for an empty metal tin).
Vivian A — Google review
Tried the original one and it was warm, crispy and delicious. Might be a little too sweet for your taste palette if you’re not a sweet tooth. Great and friendly service! Its a small truck so don’t expect any seating area!
Akash — Google review
The waffles were very flavorful, with a pleasant cinnamon and caramel aroma. The staff there are fantastic. Be sure to buy their waffle packages so you can enjoy the great taste even after your trip. I’m not a fan of adding unrelated toppings to waffles like many places in Amsterdam, which are often expensive, but here you can find the best classic waffle.
Faeze H — Google review
Delicious! Generous amount of caramel & surprisingly not too sweet- however, it's nothing actually particularly special compared to others in the city, so in my opinion it's not worth waiting in the very long line. You can get equally great, freshly made stroopwafels elsewhere without the hassle. Service is very friendly however :)
Kat — Google review
Visited Rudi’s Original Stroopwafels in Albert Cuyp Market and it was one of the highlights of my Amsterdam trip. The stroopwafel was made right in front of me — thin, crispy layers filled with warm, gooey caramel syrup. The combination of sweetness and texture was perfect, especially with the market’s lively atmosphere in the background. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, clearly proud of their craft. If you’re in Amsterdam, this is an absolute must-stop for an authentic Dutch treat — simple, delicious, and unforgettable.
Masaki K — Google review
It was a long-awaited visit to the original stroopwafel shop! I’ve tried so many versions over the years—even the ones from Costco—and have always been a fan. I even tried the fresh ones from Hans Egstorf once, but honestly didn’t like them (and they charge twice the price of Rudy’s!). We arrived “early,” around 10:50 a.m., before they officially opened, and there were already a few people in line. The father who founded this famous spot was such a gentleman—so kind and warm—and his son, who made my stroopwafels, was funny and just as friendly. We started with one original and one chocolate-dipped stroopwafel, plus a tin of pre-made ones to take home. After trying both, we preferred the original. We walked around a bit, then decided one tin just wasn’t enough (lol), so we went back for another fresh original and another tin to bring home. By then, the line was long, but it moved super fast. I wouldn’t say the fresh ones are necessarily better than the pre-made ones—they’re just different. The fresh ones are warm and crispy, while the pre-made ones are cold and crispy, each with its own charm. With a nice cup of coffee or tea, both are absolutely delicious. All in all, I loved the whole experience and will definitely be back next time I’m in Amsterdam. The price of €3 is very reasonable too! Note to the neighboring vendors: one of you should seriously consider selling good tea, coffee, or hot chocolate to go with Rudy’s stroopwafels instead of those ubiquitous t-shirts! Trust me—you’d do far better business. One needs a drink to go with these stroopwafels… otherwise, you might just choke from all that deliciousness! 😄

Lanskroon Bakery, a long-standing establishment in Amsterdam, has been delighting customers with its wide array of traditional Dutch delicacies for over 45 years. While the bakery has introduced new recipes over time, it remains renowned for its king-sized stroopwafels, which are flat, chewy waffles filled with gooey syrup.
Delicious stroopwaffel and one of the best I have tried in Amsterdam. The place is very cozy and chill and I will definitely go back again.
Ahmed A — Google review
So glad I went out of my way to buy stroopwafels here before we went home. They aren’t exactly the kind you see in all the other shops. They are more like a very thin spiced biscuit with the caramel inside. And I loved it!
Emily E — Google review
Holy crap this is the best stroopwafel that I had in my life! I wish that I had bought a box to go when I was there. The store is small and quaint, but the stroopwafel is so good. I highly recommend!
Kelly L — Google review
This stroopwafel was honestly the best I’ve ever tried! Perfectly balanced in flavor, not overly sweet, just the right amount of caramel, and so tasty with my coffee. The texture was soft but still had a nice bite to it. A must try if you’re looking for an authentic and delicious treat..
Reem A — Google review
This place makes very good Stroopwafels with honey. The poppy seeds dessert, the ginger almonds and the Oliebll were also very good. There is a place to sit inside and coffee is available. The service isn't the friendliest out there especially towards newcomers. Highly recommended nonetheless.
Joe — Google review
I love this place, they have the best stroopwaffels, great coffee and ice creams. We are always received with a smile and it’s never too crowded.
Pedro S — Google review
Lovely bakers and very kindly took an order of Oliebollen from me for mine and my wife's birthday for early October. Excellent taste and also bought some butter cookie pieces. Can't recommend this bakery for sweet treats enough! <3 thank you.
Spencer G — Google review
I heard a lot about their Stroopwafel, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. It was way too hard, super crunchy, cold and pretty much tasteless. Definitely not what I was expecting. And for the price? Totally not worth it. I really don’t get the hype. As someone who’s tried pastries all over Asia and Europe, I can confidently say this was one of the most overrated ones I’ve had in my life. I was expecting something maybe a bit softer (?), warmer, or at least flavorful, but instead, it was just a plain, sugary crunch with no real taste. The cappuccino was also pretty cold, which was really disappointing. As someone who has lived in Italy for years, this felt like a huge disappointment to what a proper cappuccino should be. It’s not just about the taste—it’s about the experience, and serving it lukewarm just ruins it. Not trying to be rude, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are way better options out there for pastries or a sweet breakfast, specially if you already have tried good pastries in other European countries or Asia.

Van Wonderen Stroopwafels is a trendy spot that has taken the traditional Dutch stroopwafel and given it a modern twist. The shop offers a variety of toppings such as marshmallows, raspberries, nuts, and coconut, all dipped in chocolate. The young staff members are well-versed in social media trends and are ready to create custom treats for customers.
Van Wonderen Stroopwafels is a sweet slice of Dutch heaven. Each stroopwafel is a perfect blend of crisp, caramel, and gooey delight—made fresh and irresistible. A charming, colorful spot where every bite feels like a joyful treat you’ll want to savor again and again.
Sara D — Google review
During our visit to Amsterdam, we stopped by Van Wonderen Stroopwafels — a charming and well-known spot that’s certainly touristy, but still worth a visit. Depending on the time of day, you might find a long line wrapped around the corner or be able to walk right in. We sampled a few flavors — butterscotch, hazelnut crunch, caramel, and crispy delight. Each was freshly made, warm, and layered with just the right balance of sweetness and crunch. Our favorite was definitely Crispy Delight, with its perfect texture and rich flavor. That said, it’s definitely on the pricey side — €11 for a small and €13 for a medium — but for a first-time experience, it felt like a fun (and tasty) indulgence that lived up to the hype.
Nifty D — Google review
A quick and convenient stop for a treat with a gooey caramel syrup in the centre, but be prepared for the price. The staff were very friendly and the stroopwafels were presented beautifully, making for a great photo opportunity. However, the prices are clearly set for tourists. While the experience was pleasant, the cost makes it a place I wouldn't return to.
Apriry L — Google review
Van Wonderen Stroopwafels, a beloved food icon in Amsterdam, may not have the highest rating, but it’s worth a visit. This charming spot boasts a long line, offering a delightful array of topping options that are both fun and not diabetic-friendly. The warm waffles are simply delectable, but the cold ones are a bit of a letdown. The friendly staff doles out everything onsite, creating an enticing aroma that draws you in. While there’s no proper seating area, you can find a bench to wait for your order. However, it can get quite cramped, making it less ideal for strollers or wheelchairs. One downside is the pricing. For a mini waffle, they charge a hefty €11, which is quite pricey. This might be the reason behind the low rating.
Foodie T — Google review
Cute little shop, not very big. When I went, it wasn’t crowded at all. The stroopwafel I ordered came topped with Oreo. I thought it was delicious for the first 2–3 bites😅😂, but after that it got a bit too sweet for me because the caramel filling was quite rich. One piece is best shared between 2–3 people.
Nitchanun W — Google review
They serve waffles in three different sizes, which i really like. The taste was good overall; the KitKat topping was delicious but the peanut butter was average.
Alaa A — Google review
This place is nothing but an overpriced tourist trap. I paid €11 for a stroopwafel that tasted no different than a €2 supermarket version – overly sweet, flat, and absolutely not worth the hype. What shocked me even more was the disgusting hygiene. The entire floor was sticky and covered in crumbs, the counters were filthy with syrup and toppings scattered everywhere, and the staff uniforms were stained. Employees were preparing food with their hair not properly tied back, leaning over open ingredients while talking and breathing directly onto the food. The stroopwafels are not kept in any hygienic or closed environment – they just sit exposed while staff and customers crowd inside. It’s clear this place focuses only on looking good for Instagram photos with chandeliers and “fancy” decor, but behind the counter it’s a complete mess. Watching my food being made in such an unhygienic environment was honestly disturbing. Amsterdam has far better options: at local markets like Albert Cuyp you’ll find stroopwafels that are fresh, authentic, hygienic, and sold at a fair price. Avoid Van Wonderen at all costs – overpriced, dirty, unsanitary, and disappointing.
Onur Y — Google review
Small shop with very friendly staff. We wanted to try fresh stroopwafels, and the taste is hardly comparable – not too sweet and nicely warm. You can also choose a topping, and we even took some home in a cute tin. Still a bit pricey.

Croissanterie Hans Egstorf is a bakery with delicious croissants and Dutch treats, such as stroopwafels. The bakery opens early in the morning, which makes it a perfect place to start your day.
We stopped by just before they closed and got two handmade Dutch waffles for €15 in total. The taste was quite nice — freshly made, slightly crispy on the outside, and soft inside. They even included a small wet wipe with the order, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, a tasty and pleasant experience!

With the 4.8 rating with over a 1,000 reviews I knew it was a no brainer to come and try my very first stroopwaffle here. I am glad I did. Yes, I might have overpaid. But I am choosing to say I paid for the experience, the size, plus the hand wipe… You order at the counter and then they make it fresh in front of you! Pretty cool. (At the time I didn’t know many places did this.) The Dutch know how to do their sweets. They aren’t overly sweet or heavy. You can enjoy it and appreciate it. I am not sure if there is better out there and I don’t want to know. I think I had a great first and only experience and I would say anyone who went here would. Soak up the experience and soak up that sticky Carmel in between!
Kenzie W — Google review
You have to line up then wait like 5-10 mins would get the hand make waffle immediately. May be it is the nature of their style but fresh one is very soft and taste not really strong. Like they offer you a wet paper and also have big smile from all staffs. If possible, please ensure will clean up the rubbish bin regularly ? 😬😬
Cafen C — Google review
We went on a Friday night around 6:30pm and there was no line. Ive never had a stroopwaffle before so I was amazed. I really thought that it would just taste like vanilla and be too sweet with the caramel in the middle. But it was spiced and warm, so so good. However we paid €7.50 for one here, whereas you can get them fresh for around 3-4 euros at some other places
Karissa L — Google review
The Stroopwafels are delicious!! Freshly baked and warm. Wait wasn't long at all. I got the original and it was the perfect balance of sweet and aromatic. I absolutely love it+++

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic Stroopwafels! You could smell them from down the street — that warm, sweet scent just draws you in. There was no queue when we went, so we got to watch them being made fresh right in front of us. They came out perfectly warm, soft in the middle with just a little crisp on the outside, and not overly sweet. Honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Yes, they’re a little on the expensive side, but you can really taste the quality — worth every cent. And the little hand wipe for those sticky caramel fingers afterwards was such a thoughtful touch! Highly recommend stopping by Hans Egstorf if you’re in Amsterdam.

The stroopwafels were a little too sweet for my taste. The croissant with hazelnut was perfect. Super friendly service.
WL L — Google review
This is your ultimate stroopwafel in Amsterdam. Hans Egstorf's stroopwafel has the perfect texture of crisp and chewy with the balance of right sweetness of caramel. We brought home some stroopwafel to the Philippines and my family and friends just love it!!! Kudos to the staff who are very friendly and accommodating despite the long line. We will definitely visit again when we come back to Amsterdam ❤️

Melly's StroopWafels is a charming family-owned business located in a cute cottage-like shop within the medieval De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. They specialize in making fresh, warm, and delicious stroopwafels that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
We popped in to try a stroopwafle and loved it so much we had to go back and try make our own! We were lucky enough that it was just us two on the workshop. Moran was our instructor on the “Stroopwafel Workshop” and did an amazing job telling us the history of Melly’s as well as of the Stroopwafel. Best of all, you get to make 2 of your own waffles which were delicious! Would highly recommend both the café and the workshop as a unique experience in the heart of Amsterdam.

Delicious stroopwafels — definitely one of the best I’ve tried in Amsterdam! Fresh, tasty, and full of flavor. The owner is a really nice and friendly guy, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
Ahmed — Google review
This was an awesome experience! Hands-on learning is always fun, but combining it with my favorite Dutch specialty is an exhilarating event. We took turns making two stroopwafels each in the class. (I ate my first one fresh off the iron grill). I ate my second stroopwafel at the hotel. (I didn't want issues with airport security in the morning.) So grateful for the experience, gift bag, tin box, and recipe card!
Nate — Google review
Tried stroopwafles for the first time, hence picked up the original flavour. It was pretty good but it was toooo sweet. One person can eat only half of it at a time. There were other flavours as well, the pistachio looked really attractive but I didn’t go for it. But definitely give it a try!
Ankitha C — Google review
You may try the rest, BUT MELLY'S is the BEST! We found Melly's stroopwafels to be freshest, the most luxurious, the yummiest and the most flavorful strropwafel in Amsterdam. We did try a couple of others and they just didn't reach the bar that Melly's did. Grab a coffee and a stroopwafel and life is good!
Gordon M — Google review
They have great selections of stroop waffles with different toppings. The ones that we tried were super sweet! All variations are rather pricey, they cost 7 euros just for a stroopwaffles. At least we have tried once, with no plan to come back.
Swastika N — Google review
Had to try some Stroops when in Amsterdam, and this has to be one of the best ones without a doubt! So good we went back multiple times! Recommend the original and eat it while warm! You’re welcome!

I did this class at the last minute and was lucky to get the last place. I had a lot of fun doing the class and learning about Stroopwafels. The class was taught by Sofia and she was very helpful and patient. It’s great value as you get to make 2 large Stroppwafels with your choice of toppings and a special tin to take home. Best to book in advance and a great activity for a group. Not suitable for young children but very good for 10-12 onwards.

Omelegg - City Centre is renowned for its exceptional omelettes in Amsterdam. The menu offers an extensive selection of omelette flavors, catering to diverse preferences. In addition to their specialty, the eatery also provides alternative options for non-omelette enthusiasts. As the first omeletterie in the Netherlands, Omelegg takes pride in satisfying egg cravings from 7 AM onwards.
As a huge omelette fan, most of my omelette encounters have been at hotel breakfast buffets — decent, but nothing to write home about. So when I heard about Omelegg, a restaurant entirely dedicated to omelettes, my curiosity was instantly piqued. Let me just say… coming here was one of the best dining decisions I’ve ever made. I ordered the “Farm Boy”, and wow — it lives up to its name. Perfectly cooked, fluffy, and generously packed with all sorts of goodness — bacon, veggies, and more. The portion was massive, easily enough for two people. But since I arrived hungry and ready, I devoured the whole thing without hesitation. The place was fully packed when I arrived at 2.30pm, so I had to wait across the street on a tiny lane, surrounded by curious passers-by wondering why I was standing there. Thankfully, the wait was only about 20 minutes, and as soon as a table opened up, I was warmly welcomed inside. Omelegg serves omelettes all day from 7am-4pm Mon-Fri, and 8am-4pm Sat and Sun, so you can enjoy these incredible dishes from morning until mid-afternoon. I spent about half an hour here, and every minute was worth it. Omelegg isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a full experience. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Amazing breakfast spot in Amsterdam! The omelettes are creative and delicious, with plenty of choices. I had to wait around 30 minutes for a table, but it was definitely worth it. Quick service once seated and very friendly staff. A perfect place to start the day — highly recommended!
Myat K — Google review
Great eggs restaurant with a lot of variety. We ordered the greek wedding and it was fine and the salmon deluxe and it was delicious and the baked potatoes which was a bit tasteless. The service was quick and the line outside was packed but only took us 20 mins to get a table. The atmosphere is like your typical morning breakfast restaurants where it is fast paced and seated in tiny tables that are right next to each other where you can hear the fun conversations people are having.

Came here on my birthday for breakfast and found the experience to be decent, though I thought the food was overpriced, and in my opinion, undercooked. The inside of the omelette, when cut open, was incredibly runny. I’ve seen French and Japanese style omelettes cooked this way, but honestly it gave me such a bad stomach ache and texture-wise really put me off. I wish they gave you an option for how cooked you want the eggs. I had the Popeye with jalapeños. Service was good and quick. Highlight of the meal was definitely the bread on the side - softest bread I’ve had in my 5 years living in Amsterdam!! The servers wouldn’t tell me where they bought it from though - trade secrets I suppose. Bread and team were great, eggs less so.
Phoebe D — Google review
The shop has a big variety of omelettes and coffee, which is what drew me in. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the menu. The place felt quite congested, and the service was disappointing. We waited for 20mins outside shop standing in rain. The cashier lady first allotted us a table, but when more people came in, she asked us to move to another one—and even called us selfish when we hesitated. That really crossed the line. I didn’t felt comfortable sitting in that environment, so I packed my food and left. The food was decent and the server guy was kind, but the attitude and service of employees here definitely need serious improvement.
Simrat C — Google review
The place is very cute and cozy, thanks to some luck we didn't have to wait to sit. We ordered and after some minutes everything was ready, very fast! The food was really good, especially my scrambo royale, also the apple juice was really liked. The only bad thing is that they didn't let us split the bill so one of us had to pay for everything, i don't know why :(
Alessandra — Google review
Great selection of eggs for every taste and whim. Either build your own from the ingredients listed or get one of their house specials. Everything we has was fantastic. The coffee is good too. Please note that the place is tiny and you might have to wait.
Eyal S — Google review
There was a huge lineup when I was there, but after I entered I was able to realize why. The omelettes were fresh, flavourful, and generously portioned. The staff were all friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. Definitely worth it!

The chain offers a variety of bagel fillings and cream cheese flavors that can be prepared on toasted gluten-free bagels. It's highly recommended for those with allergies and intolerances, as they are accommodating and offer vegan options as well. view was nice. we waited for order a little while but the place a little crowded. bagels were freshly made and the ingredient mix were chosen well. cappuccino was the best! prices are normal for a bagel i think…

We loved this bakery, despite it being a chain. Small, quaint, neighborhood cafe. The bagels (salmon & cream cheese and a pesto tomato avocado) were delicious and the coffee was great as well (cappuccino). We ate outside along the canal. A very pleasant breakfast experience.
Todd D — Google review
Perfect location with seating next to the canal. I don’t know did the servers forgot that they have tables outside also or what, but we and some other clients waited up to 20 minutes to order. Outside tables were filthy and they didn’t clean them, even though they saw it. Food took around 20 minutes to arrive. Coffees were cold as they brought them. Bagels were good, but with overall experience not worth it.

I didn’t expect much from bagels in Amsterdam but they were ok maybe a little under baked and the texture was a bit off. Good taste though. Servers were nice.

Had a very delicious salmon bagel and a coffee here... Loved it. Friendly, good atmosphere, food great. My only down was nothing to worry about unless you're not very mobile, as the stairs to the nice downstairs toilet are narrow. Just something to be aware of. 👍🙂

The Happy Pig Pancake Shop is a charming and cozy cafe nestled in the heart of Amsterdam's historic center. It has garnered a reputation for serving some of the best pancakes in the city, made with organic ingredients and offering a variety of sweet and savory fillings. The restaurant's intimate space exudes a homely atmosphere, but it can get quite crowded due to its popularity. Despite this, it remains an ideal spot for grabbing a quick bite on the go.
I spent most of our week in Amsterdam trying to track down vegan pancakes and was so happy to have found The Happy Pig on our very last morning. Another very small place down a side street with limited seating but we were lucky to get there as someone else was leaving. I had the vegan pancakes with apple & cinnamon, toasted flaked almonds, maple syrup and vegan whipped cream. It was so good, such a treat! My sister had a regular pancake with cheese and ham. We both had fresh orange juice which was delicious. The chap who served me was very friendly and the pancakes arrived quickly.

Small pancake shop with only 4 or 5 tables. They have gluten free and vegan options. Plenty of toppings to choose from. I got the apple and cinnamon husband got the chocolate banana and almond. Portions are huge. Best to share one pancake.

Really yummy pancakes and rolled up nicely for easy eating. We were in a hurry to make it to a canal cruise, so we got there right when it opened. The staff was quick and because of the way the pancakes were rolled up, it was quick to eat. We’re vegan and they had a vegan pancake option which you can substitute in. You can choose from some signature pancake or add your own toppings. We had Everybody’s Sweetheart and Dutch Delight. Both very delicious and filling. We don’t eat onion or garlic, so the Dutch Delight was one of the savory ones that we could eat. I’m sure there are others, but didn’t inquire more since we were in a hurry. The shop is small so you may not get a place to sit. It got crowded very fast.

The pancakes with apple filling were delicious. Really casual, warm a cozy tucked away right by the canals. A much nicer option than the big franchises in de Wallen. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

Very suitable for celiacs! Glutenfree waffles were fluffy and tasty and didn't cost more than the others. You might need to bring a little extra time, just because the waffles are fresh and take a little while. At first I thought the prices for the extras were a bit much, but they are very generous with the toppings! Me and a friend both had a waffle and a drink and then decided to share another waffle. So even though it was a little expensive for me, I was very satisfied.

Great waffles 😍 Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance to try them and the waffles were sooo good. Very generous portion, lots of toppings to choose from which are also served generously with your waffles. I also 100% recommend the fake bacon and eggs, so crunchy and savoury. The staff is super nice, smiling at you from the moment you walk in and very helpful 😊 Amazing that they have gluten free as well as vegan options. Will come again soon!

Pancakes Amsterdam, located at Prins Hendrikkade 48, 1012 AC Amsterdam, offers a diverse menu featuring pancake-centric dishes inspired by both international cuisine and traditional Dutch cooking. The restaurant categorizes its menu by style, with dedicated sections for flat Dutch pancakes and thicker American varieties. Toppings range from savory combinations like ham and cheese to sweet treats such as chocolate sauce and stroopwafel crumble.
The staff were incredibly approachable and friendly, lovely people from start to finish. Great environment with wonderful ambience while eating! The food was delicious, got some sweet Dutch pancakes which were superb, a constant sweetness throughout that didn’t turn sickly towards the end like a lot of other “sweet treat” food spots

After arriving in Amsterdam, I really fancied some pancakes and being a very short walk outside of the station this place was perfect. It was a little busy when I arrived however I still got a seat straightaway. Firstly just want to say that the staff were brilliant! Really friendly and helpful, they were always smiling and created a nice atmosphere. A great selection of food and drinks are available but I went for the basic maple and bacon option and a coffee. The coffee arrived almost straight away and was lovely. Like I said it was a little busy but my pancake arrived about 5-7 minutes later so still very quick service, and these were equally nice. Really fluffy and just spot on. It was a really good sized portion, (I got through about 2 and a half of them before they beat me) and the bacon wasn’t quite as snappy/crispy as I like, but they were nicely cooked and tasted great. And to top it off, after I paid they gave me a nice little keyring to remember the place and I personally love it when places do things like this. It’s just a really nice touch and I’ll always remember this place when I see it, and it really set the tone for what was an awesome day in an amazing city. 🙂 When I’m next in Amsterdam I’ll definitely be coming back here. The only thing I can say to just be aware of is if it’s busy, it can be a light bit tight if you sit outside as you’ll be sitting quite close to others. For me it wasn’t a problem as I’m not very big, but there was still a little bit of manoeuvring to get in and out, but the food and service you get is top notch so well worth it. In fact while I was eating a couple turned up with some suitcase and the staff offered to keep the cases safe inside so they could sit outside. Thank you Pancakes Amsterdam for a memorable and enjoyable visit.

We had breakfast here, and it was really good! The portions are big and very filling — definitely enough to start your day right. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, but that’s expected since it’s located in the city center. The service was good, and overall, it was a nice experience. Worth trying if you’re in Amsterdam and want a hearty breakfast!
Atif G — Google review
We came here a few times — a calm, friendly spot just across from Amsterdam Centraal Station that’s incredibly convenient if you’ve got a train to catch. It’s easy to find and perfect for a relaxed breakfast or a casual brunch before exploring the city. The team working there were warm and efficient — friendly smiles, quick service, and they never made me feel rushed despite the steady stream of people coming in. My pancakes arrived sooner than I expected, piping hot and nicely presented. The menu has a good range of choices, including protein-friendly options (think extra eggs or savory choices) and clearly marked gluten-free alternatives, which I appreciated as someone traveling with dietary preferences. The portions are satisfying without being overwhelming, and they pair nicely with a well-brewed cup of coffee. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back — light, cozy seating and a gentle buzz of conversation that makes it a nice place to linger. It’s also family-friendly, with menu items that appeal to kids and adults alike. If you’re in a hurry, they do handle takeaway swiftly, which is convenient given the station location. One practical note: because of how convenient it is, especially for travelers arriving or departing from the station, the place fills up quickly — particularly on weekend mornings and during tourist season. If you want a quieter experience or a guaranteed table, come early or aim for a late-afternoon snack time. That said, turnover is decent, and the staff manage the flow well, so wait times aren’t usually too long. Overall, a relaxing and reliable spot for pancakes in a prime location. Friendly service, tasty options for different diets, and a cozy vibe make it worth a visit — just plan for crowds and come early if you want a guaranteed table. Highly recommended for a casual, delicious pit stop by Centraal Station.

Overall pretty good experience. The food was good, there was wide range of options on the menu. I got something basic, but looking at the food on other tables some of the pancakes can be quite decadent. Coffee was good here, with options for oat or soy milk. I will say the temperature inside the restaurant was very hot and a bit of airflow would have made the dining experience more pleasant. The servers were nice, but limited interactions with customers because it was busy.

You can't go to the Netherlands and not have a Dutch pancake, and you shouldn't go to Amsterdam and not have one at Amsterdam Pancakes! Short queue, worth the wait, had one savoury and one sweet between us and some refreshing lemonades. All delicious! Would definitely come again and keep working through the menu - lots of tasty classics and modern combos to try.

I recently visited Pancakes Amsterdam and it was such a delightful experience! The Dutch pancakes we ordered were melt-in-your-mouth and with just the right balance of sweetness. I tried the Dutch pancake with sweet strawberries, hazelnuts and whipped cream, and it was absolutely delicious. The presentation was lovely too! Portion size was generous. The atmosphere of the shop was friendly and inviting. Staff were attentive and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I’d highly recommend Pancakes Amsterdam to anyone looking for a comforting brunch spot or a sweet treat / savoiry pancakes any time of day. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu before my holiday comes to an end!

Pat's Poffertjes is a charming spot located in the heart of the Jordaan, Amsterdam, offering a luxurious and traditional experience with their beloved mini pancakes. Visitors are greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked poffertjes upon entering. The poffertjes are described as perfectly cooked, fluffy, and just sweet enough to be heavenly. The menu offers various toppings to choose from, with Nutella being highly recommended.

Nice little shop making mini pancakes with tons of options. Some of mine were undercooked but otherwise very tasty! Pistachio was a kind of melted cream and was good but if I were to do it again I'd ask for half the sauce. Would definitely return if I'm ever in Amsterdam again.

The poffertjes are yummy, no doubt. 🥞 But for me, the taste isn’t something that makes me want to come back again — it’s nice, just not that special or unique. Everyone has their own preference, of course. As for me, maybe next time I’ll explore other poffertjes places. ☺️

Absolutly in my opinion the best Poffertjes in Amsterdam (and i’ve tried many places). Outside crispy, soft and creamy inside and high quality butter that adds that slightly savoury touch. Just PERFECT!!! If you want to avoid waiting in line for a while, id suggest you visit it around 1-2 hour before its closing time. As there is no line during those hours Sorry for the bad quality picture, definitely not a reflection on the presentation.

Bitterballen Amsterdam offers delicious breaded balls filled with gravy, served with mustard and perfect for pairing with craft beers from the Netherlands. The place has a mix of street food and fine dining ambiance, making it a great stop for tasty bites. The owner's warm hospitality creates an inviting atmosphere filled with joy and positivity. With various types of bitterballen and other tasty snacks available, it's the perfect spot to enjoy these treats in a comfortable setting with a glass of bubbles or beer.
Lovely little restaurant right in the centre, tucked away in a cute little street. Highly recommend going here for a beer and the bitterballen tasting selection. My favourite was the beef and my partner loved the veal. Would happily come back here again!

What a great spot to enjoy some homemade bitterballen! We tried the “Sharing is caring” bitterballen tasting, the Pomme Frites, cheese sticks, and the Bittergarnituux Mix along with some wine. Everything was delicious! Our favourites were the vegan and beef bitterballen, the cheese sticks and bami, which is, apparently, one of the least favourites to the Dutch. It has a light curry flavour which we do enjoy and the texture of the noodles was really quite yummy. If you don’t like a curry flavour, then there’s others you’d be better to trying. The service we received was amazing - very warm and friendly and it’s a really great vibe in the restaurant. They have some outdoor seating and we noticed that the kitchen, which is open to be seen to the dining area, was pristine. Despite the food being fried, you don’t have that fried oil smell typical of restaurants who don’t change their fry oil as often as they should so we know everything was as well kept as it looked. Prices were VERY reasonable for the service, atmosphere and quality you receive. We walked in before the rush but reservations are recommended as they got very busy and you don’t want to miss out!

My wife and I are from the US and we visited the Netherlands back in September 2024. We were looking for a relaxing and delicious Dutch lunch at a fair price, and this place delivered that for us! We ordered the Sharing is Caring Bitterballen Tasting, which includes 4 beef, 4 veal, and 4 vegan. We also ordered the fries with black truffle mayo and some sparkling water. This place deserves all the great reviews!

First time I have tried bitterballen and didn’t know what to expect. They had a very crunchy coating and soft thick centre. We loved that they had a vegan option. It tasted quite meaty, and like thick stock. Not sure they are my favourite but good to try and glad I had them here. The cheese sticks were amazing!! Super crunchy outside and gooey inside, the olives were also very tasty. The staff were nice and helpful with helping choose what to order.

Amazing place and amazing stuff! We came here for the reviews and uau, did not disappoint. On a Sunday at 14:30 the restaurant was quite empty so we had a really cosy stay. If I could, I would come back tomorrow! And I say this because after trying it for the first time on Saturday Evening we went back the day after for the Sunday Lunch (our last one in the beautiful Amsterdam) 💔. The place: 10/10. So chic, cozy and lovely. The food: SOOO GOOD AND TASTY! We had all kind of Bitterballen and their french fries, so yummy 😋 Each of them is my fave. Rutger, the owner, is magic! A funny person, so kind and nice. We really liked talking with him, also because we share a passion: Italy & Bitterballen! I hope to come back here very very soon. Marqt, on the other hand, offers a wide selection of gluten-free and organic merchandise, including commonly available items from brands like Schar and Genius. Make sure to grab a pack of Damhert Nutrition's chocolate-covered gluten-free waffles while you're there! Supermarkets in Amsterdam were highly accommodating when it came to catering to the needs of those following a gluten-free diet. It was effortless to determine whether a product was glutenvrij or not.
Ekoplaza is a great neighborhood store with a wide range of organic and high-quality products. I appreciate the focus on sustainability and always find fresh produce and specialty items here that are hard to get elsewhere. The staff are generally friendly and helpful, and the store has a calm atmosphere compared to busier supermarkets. That said, the prices are on the higher side, so it’s not the place for everyday bulk shopping. I usually come here for specific items where quality really matters. Overall, it’s a valuable store to have close by, and I’m happy to support it despite the premium cost.

Always really nice service and atmosphere which makes it a very pleasant shopping experience. The store is not super big but they have everything you’ll need! Prices are higher than in other stores and sometimes I am disappointed by the quality of veggies and herbs.

Good choice for organic food, but you always have to ask for a receipt and check whether they have charged you with correct prices or not. It's very annoying and time consuming, but if you don't you'll basically end up paying more. I've complained with their management multiple times before, but nothing seems to improve hence the public review now. In my last 2 visits this week, I was charged 6 EURs more than what I was supposed to pay. They always tell you the same story, their systems have problems etc. I never had any issues with Ekoplaza shop nearby, so it's hard to grasp how 2 shops of the same chain can have such a big difference in their so called "systems". It started to feel more like a scam than an honest mistake as these issues have been ongoing for more than a year now. Just ask for a receipt and check if you've been charged with correct prices. Too bad consumers have to deal with such unprofessional businesses in this age of technology.

An ecological supermarket not being ecological at all. This morning we went to this supermarket as there was a ‘Broodbox’ available on Too good to go and we booked it. We were there at 8AM and basically the response of the personnel was that there was nothing available and that there was probably a mistake. There were plenty of items with a 50% discount label and they gave us absolutely nothing, they sent us back home even if we insisted. An ecological supermarket doing greenwashing, as probably most of those 50% discount items will go to waste. Awful staff, awful service and solution. Never going back.
Patricia — Google review
A good size supermarket with a good amount of quality, natural products. The store has a wide range of selections, both natural and organic. You can find diet friendly (Gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.) food items here, as well. In addition to the quality products offered, the friendly staff makes shopping at Marqt a pleasant experience.
Andrew W — Google review
Low quality masquerading as high quality, uses greenwashing to convince you that products are healthy and sustainable while they are just as mass produced and harmful as anything at jumbo or ah, for example, and they treat and pay their workers awful.

Pancake restaurant
The Pancake Bakery is a must-visit breakfast spot in Amsterdam, located in a charming old warehouse along the Prinsengracht with canal views. This popular restaurant has been serving up an extensive variety of sweet and savory pancakes since 1973. From traditional fruit-filled pancakes to unique options like Thai-inspired or Norwegian-inspired ones with salmon and cream cheese, there's something for every pancake lover.
Absolutely loved our visit to The Pancake Bakery! We were lucky enough to get a table right beside the canal, and it was the perfect setting. We spent a wonderful afternoon watching the boats drift by while enjoying some incredible food. I started with the French onion soup, and it was divine – so cheesy and flavorful! Paired it with a crisp, cold Heineken, which just felt right. The main event, the pancake, was absolutely awesome. It was huge, delicious, and loaded with yummy toppings. If you're looking for a quintessential Dutch meal with a fantastic view, you can't beat this spot. Highly recommended!

Great place to stop in and try an amazing and seemingly authentic dutch pancake! I’ve had several of their options, Pancake with Bacon, Cheese, Mushroom and/or Onion is my favorite. Any pancake choice is good though. The poffertjes were not my favorite (a little bit “soft” or wet, looked like banana slices). They have outdoor seating when it’s nice weather and the inside has plenty of seating and rooms.
Mirabella S — Google review
Highly recommended! We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, as follows in decreasing order: - french onion soup (very generous with the cheese) - bread with garlic spread (rich and creamy) - Norwegian pancake (not quite what we expected for the dough but the filling was tasty) We were lucky we can slightly earlier (around 5pm on a Saturday) as the crowds and queue outside started building after a while.
WL L — Google review
Amazing! A definite must! A beautiful location. A beautiful vibe, setting and ambience and the food is 💯 % worth it. You may find you have to queue to get in sometimes, but other times you could be lucky and walk straight in. A beautiful experience. From start to finish. We’d definitely recommend and most definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful experience. 💫

The Pancake Bakery is one of Amsterdam’s most iconic pancake spots, located in a 17th-century warehouse along the Prinsengracht canal, with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. They specialize in traditional Dutch pancakes, both sweet and savory, from classic apple-cinnamon to hearty seafood or bacon & cheese. Portions are generous, and ingredients are fresh — a must-try for many travelers. I ordered the spinach and turkey, egg pancake, which was tasty. Their pancakes are thin and fragrant — really delicious. They accept both cash and card, and after paying, you even get a postcard from the café :-)

Tried the autumn special pancake - super delicious! The beetroot pancake doesn’t have the raw taste of beetroot usually has - instead the pancake base is mildly sweet and tastes like figs. Service is very attentive. Perfect way to end the day!
Tiffany C — Google review
Pancake and poffertjes were excellent, service was very friendly. We shared chocolate poffertjes and a savoury pancake with ham, cheese and apple, simply delicious! The servers were very friendly and you get a small gift when you pay, highly recommend.

Very efficient service. Pancakes a little pricey but decent. Love the bacon apple pancakes. Note that they only provide tap water if you purchase a drink.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Jordaan district of Amsterdam, Winkel 43 is a charming café that has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike. This cozy establishment buzzes with life from morning until night, offering an inviting atmosphere complemented by a delightful menu featuring hearty European snacks, lunches, and dinners. However, it’s the legendary Dutch apple pie that truly steals the show!
After spending 10 days in Europe, this was the best meal we had on the entire trip!! This is my favorite restaurant in Europe (so far)! We are vegetarians, and my wife and I found both of our dishes to be delicious! We also really enjoyed the pie, and that is a huge compliment coming from my wife, who doesn’t it like pie in general but said this was the best pie she had ever had! I can’t wait to eat here again!
Jacob M — Google review
Amazing apple pie served right from the oven. Along with a delicious double espresso or cappuccino, among other available beverages. If you love pie just have to come this cute little place. Will definitely come again in the near future.
Hanif M — Google review
Any travel guide in Amsterdam will tell you to stop by Winkel for their famous apple pie, and it’s absolutely worth it. I’m not even an apple pie fan, but this one was really, really good. The crust, the filling, everything was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Yes, there’s a long line, but they run the place like a well-oiled machine. The line moves quickly, the pies are constantly coming out fresh, and the drinks are made in no time. If you get lucky and snag a seat outside, you can enjoy your dessert while people watching. Inside seating is nice too, especially by the window, though the space itself isn’t particularly special. Still, it’s a must-try spot in Amsterdam. Definitely worth the stop for a slice of their iconic apple pie.
Nancy A — Google review
Tried the famous apple pie at Winkel 43 in Amsterdam — absolutely loved it! You get a big, warm, fresh, and delicious slice. I had mine with whipped cream and a hot chocolate, which cost me €10 in total. There were about 30 people in line when I joined around 5 PM on a Saturday, but the service was super efficient and the queue moved quickly.
Nimsara S — Google review
Very busy place - not a bad thing just something to note. I found the cafe too dark for my preference and I couldn’t see the food I was eating which is pretty important to me for the full experience. I know this doesn’t matter to some so personal preference. The apple pie was okay. Definitely tastes home made which is good, and had a very crunchy crust which I like. It was room temperature which, didn’t taste fresh out of the oven. I like mine to be at least warm. It did come extremely fast though, I imagine they just have the pies on plates ready to go. It’s also not too sweet. But I wouldn’t say it’s the best or anything. Just good, not great, in my opinion. I’ve had ones I enjoy more. The bitterballen on the other hand was really good. Best I’ve had so far. They were piping hot and tasted fresh. They pair really well with the mustard sauce provided.
Seth I — Google review
Came because of the hype and a recommendation from a local friend of ours and this place’s apple pie reputation is very well deserved. We came at a good time so we were seated right away (2 people). Service was a bit slow because of the amount of people so it’s understandable. The pie itself was fantastic. No words to describe how good it was, so I rate it 10/10 for ruining apple pies for me because I don’t think I can get it anywhere else that’s this good. The coffee was good as well!

This is such a cute, cosy cafe ! The queues can be long but moves quite fast. It’s nice to sit outside too. The cake is delicious and I love the mint tea they have. Would definitely come back ! I’d say get somebody with you etc to sit at the table whilst you order (to sit outside etc).

The Pantry is a cozy restaurant that offers a quintessentially Dutch dining experience. The interior resembles a traditional Dutch home, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features hearty and comforting dishes such as stamppot and hutspot, which are traditional mashed vegetable dishes served with smoked sausage or meatballs. The portions are generous, and the focus is on traditional Dutch cuisine.
Main oven was down when we visited and they were serving appetizers and small plates of some of the main dishes - which was perfect for us as we could then sample more dishes with smaller portions. Mashed potatoes with sauerkrauts, mashed potatoes with carrots and onions, beef croquettes, beef stew, meatball and smoked sausage. Food was amazing, flavorful and well balanced. So good And to top off, service was excellent! Definitely worth another visit!
Grace C — Google review
Warm & friendly service; a beautifully designed, cozy atmosphere, and most of all, delicious Dutch dishes. The vegetarian bitterballen was excellent - crispy on the outside without being oily, with great texture & flavour on the inside. Also really enjoyed the combination mashed potatoes to try the different flavours (kale, carrot, & cauliflower) that were each unique. Bonus that everything was extremely reasonably priced. Very highly recommend for the loveliest experience of traditional Dutch cuisine & hospitality!

Cozy little restaurant that's been serving the highest quality classic Dutch food for 25 years. We went on our first night in Amsterdam and it was the perfect place to start our trip. Service was so warm and friendly. They have a number of quick 3 course options if you haven't done a lot of research on the local food. We went with the ala carte option and had the best pea soup I've EVER had, their bitterballen which were fantastic and we split the XXL combination of hutspot which was more than enough food. Everything was wonderful. Definitely try their house beer "The Pantry", it's delicious! Make sure you make a reservation at least 30 days out if not more. It's a small restaurant and timeslots fill up fast. Thanks so much!

Great place to try dutch food: the staff are very friendly, it’s well located, and the decor is very characteristic. Although I didn’t love the food (it’s not my personal taste), it was great to try!! My favorite dish was the pea soup. It’s small and there are a lot of people, we waited a bit, but nothing serious 😁

Great place to get a quick intro to dutch cuisine. Here you can try the bitter ballen and then the combination sausage meatball traditional dishes. Excellent service and they take credit cards. Highly recommend.

The Pantry is a great choice for trying Dutch food! The atmosphere is super cozy and quaint. Get the fish menu! The shrimp croquettes were the standout -- a soft shrimp and potato filling in a crunchy breading. The sea bass dish was good (albeit I found some bones) and the veggies were great. I was pretty underwhelmed by the mashed potatoes, they lacked flavor. The dessert, caramel ice cream with stoopwaffel, was the right thing to end the meal.
Jessica — Google review
We loved the Dutch food, the atmosphere and the service. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have set menus, very good value. They offer vegetarian version for some of the menus. It is advisable to book in advance as it is really busy.
JR S — Google review
First time trying Dutch food. The places smelled amazing from half a block away. Couldn't wait to have those mashed potatoes in my mouth. Honestly the taste is mid at best, the sausage starter was the only thing I liked, my pea soup came with a big piece of plastic and when I told the server he told me "it happens sometimes" they didn't charge me for the soup, which was the least they could do. But if you want to eat bad and have a plastic soup then come here!!

It's part of the larger De Hallen complex and features over 20 diverse food stalls offering a wide range of global cuisines, from Greek meze to Vietnamese summer rolls, American barbecue to wood-fired pizzas. The market is popular with both locals and visitors due to its high-end food options, including gourmet burgers, vegan sushi rolls, and more.
Possibly the best food hall we’ve ever been to. We went four nights in a row, it’s that good, and ate something different every time and there was still way more we could have tried. Coming from the UK we were also surprised by how reasonably priced it was. Pro Tip - try the lemonade with lime and mint from the central bar, taste sensation. Loads of veggie and gluten free options. It’s always packed but you will find a seat as people tend to move around quite quickly, just be mindful you can’t sit for ages unless you are eating and drinking but there’s plenty of space near the bar to stand as well. 100% must visit.
Tim F — Google review
A great food hall with tons of vendors and a huge variety of options! My partner and I split up to order, each finding something we loved quickly and managing to snag a table during a busy Thursday night. Great for meet ups and nights when you don’t want to cook in!
Kaitlyn K — Google review
We went here on a Friday around 4pm and it wasn‘t too crowded. We walked around for a good ten minutes just enjoying the atmosphere and looking at all the different food options. I got a poke bowl with vegan salmon which tasted okay and was a little too small for my liking, but the real star of the show were my friend‘s fries which came at a great price and tasted amazing. The portion was huge too, so it was enough to share :) We also tried the cannolis and those were great too.

The food court was okay in the sense that there are many options to choose from. The deep fried fish was quite delicious but the calamari was not. Portion size was small. The lemonade we got from one of the bars there was very fresh and tasty.

So delicious and a great welcome scene for any traveller! All the food was the best I've had so far on my trip 😋 I got an Indian wrap €13 2x ciders €10 4x mini tartes from Petit gateau + 1 chocolate cookie - €20 The live music was great and chatting to locals was great too 👌🏽
Frances W — Google review
It’s a cute place where you can find many food options. There are central counters where everyone orders what they want, and then you move to your table with self-service. It gets quite crowded on weekends, and there’s no reservation system.
Begum M — Google review
A perfect spot for casual and fun dining. There’s a great variety of options, though I find the food a bit pricey for a “plaza” setting. As for the atmosphere, I would improve the quality of the chairs (they’re uncomfortable) and the acoustics, as it can get quite noisy.

Pancakes Amsterdam Negen Straatjes is a bright and modern restaurant located in the 9 Streets district, known for its vintage shops and affordable fashion finds. After a long shopping spree, visitors can enjoy a healthy brunch at Pluk or savor modern Italian cuisine at Libertine in the Berenstraat.
We stopped in for a late breakfast (1030ish) and were seated immediately in the back. It's a very tight fit and if you may find yourself moving your table to allow people in and out of their seats. We ordered the bacon, cheese, and onion adding an egg as well as the spinach and egg adding bacon. Both were fantastic and filling. They had the perfect blend of sweet (from the pancake) and savory from the toppings.
Aaron C — Google review
This cozy spot offers a wide variety of pancake options, including the ability to customize with your own toppings. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the ingredients definitely justifies it. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered the apple crumble cinnamon-style Dutch pancake—it was rich, flavorful, and generously portioned. I’d recommend sharing it, as it leaned a bit too sweet for one person. The wait was about 15 minutes, which felt a little long considering it wasn’t too busy, but overall, it was worth it.
E J — Google review
The staff were all so so kind!! And the food woah! I love pancakes and this was 10/10. I ordered the meal deal plus mini chocolate pancakes. It is not expensive nor cheap its right on the middle, but the food size and quality is worth what you pay for.
Matteo V — Google review
Unfortunately not the pancakes I remember from a couple years ago. This one is mushy, almost spongy, in texture. The indoor dining, though light and bright, is super tight and uncomfortable. I had to get up to let other diners out, and everyone just seemed to be squished like sardines. You can tell they are really trying to maximize their real estate, perhaps at the expense of customer experience…? On the plus side, the 2 servers were efficient and seemed nice. Overall, for me, it’s too much money for what you get. Skip if you have other places on your list.
A G — Google review
I brought my girlfriends here because I felt nostalgic, haven't been here since 2014 I think. But this time the experience was subpar: not only a woman at the table next to us found a piece of plastic wrap in her pancake, we asked for 3 goat cheese pancakes and one apple crumble one to share and got only 2 pancakes. We thought we clarified and asked for 2 more when these came, and after another 10 min we got only one of the 2 ordered. We just gave up in getting our order complete. We also had to ask for water like 5 times

These pancakes are fabulous. Stunningly scrumptious! Brilliant place if you need gluten-free, lactose free. Friendly staff and quick service. Loved it!
Alan G — Google review
Very cramped environment with an uncomfortable vibe. Staff were very un-chatty and made us feel like a bit of an inconvenience when we asked a couple of questions. I paid €15.25 for a Dutch pancake with strawberries and cream - the pancake was very nice but €4.75 for 6 small, soggy strawberries? We asked for a few more for free and were told no and that if we wanted more, we would have to pay for them. The sauce dishes were also stained with weird brown marks. We wouldn’t come back.
Ella P — Google review
Despite all the positive feedback and reviews I read about this place, I have to strongly advise people to avoid it. First of all, my friend ordered a pancake dish for 14€, and they were absolutely microscopic. It’s So overpriced, seeing as bottled water cost 4€. At the end we were ALSO told we couldn’t split the bill. Absolutely ridiculous, it’s a waste of money. Avoid.

Cozy place, but average food. They have a nice concept of paying for 2,3 or 4 dishes and choosing anything from the menu. Good opportunity to try various things from the menu. Portions aren’t big, which explains lower prices. I think it’s still a good value for your money. But food isn’t outstanding- in the end, it’s a simple brunch place, no stylish- fancy- servings. Their sandwiches look just like… sandwiches :)

What a fun place for brunch / lunch! The concept really is picnic-like: You order 2, 3, or 4 items from a good-sized list of sandwiches, soups, salads, and hot dishes such as quiche, and the staff brings out a single plate with all your small portions. Everything we had was delicious, but my favorite was probably the quiche. Dessert was also tasty. Of course, this is all enhanced by the presence of Pedro the cat, who visits from a nearby establishment. We were lucky enough to be seated next to Pedro's blanket, which meant we got to enjoy petting him and just being in his presence! Reservations recommended for weekends.

Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor, presentation, and overall quality — which was very unexpected. The bread was cut too thick and had no taste, it wasn’t toasted or spread with butter. Adding simple touches such as garlic butter, cheese sauce, or other flavor elements could make a big difference. All three dishes we ordered were completely bland. These days, it’s easy to find inspiration online for improving flavor and presentation, and I believe there is definitely room for improvement.

We had a tasty brunch here on a Sunday morning. My only wish was that the wait list system worked because I tried to join the wait list as we were walking there and it wasn't working... Of course we arrived and the place was full so we could only add ourselves once we got there. This meant that we could only get bar seats which was a bit tight for space. Aside from the seating situation the food itself was great. We got the Navajo Eggs and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were delicious and had a good balance of fresh ingredients with savoury elements.

Great breakfast and healthy options 🌸 We got early breakfast here. We ordered the B&R breakfast with side eggs and avocado with coffee and matcha. We arrived and a had a little wait once we joined the virtual waiting list, but that was okay as we just walked around the area for a bit. The staff were lovely and food was great. They have good gluten free options and everything is clearly marked on the menu. Only giving 4 stars as the prices were very expensive.

I ordered the B&R Special with extra avocado instead of bacon. The eggs and bread were delicious, and the butter elevated the whole dish. The orange juice was fresh, but the pancakes were underwhelming compared to the rest. Nice atmosphere and excellent service, overall, a solid 5 stars despite the pancakes.

I have been to a lot of brunch places in Amsterdam but this is definitely one of my favorite or maybe my new favorite in town. The pulled pork is just amazing. We went there around 1pm on a working day and waited outside for around 10 mins, which is okay. Will definitely come back.

The food was delicious and it's the best coffee I've had in this neighbourhood! I don't eat beef or pork, so they swapped the pork in my eggs Benedict with extra avocado. The ingredients were fresh, the flavours were amazing and the flavour pairings from the Brazilian and Kiwi cultures were incredible. One of my favourites! The staff was super nice. Even though they're reservation system was temporarily down, and I had to wait for 45 minutes before I could find a table, the staff was super nice and offered me a spot to relax in the waiting area. They also helped me with my luggage. Great experience in general, totally recommend it for brunches and breakfasts!

The steak with garlic sauce was amazing — super tender and full of flavor. I also tried the shrimp croquettes, which were perfectly crispy and really tasty. Drinks were on point too. Cute place, good vibe, and nice views. Service was a bit slow but definitely worth a visit.

The garlic gravy, delicious. The medium raw was rather raw and uneven. The creme brule also delicious. The tables were way too dirty for a restaurant this reviewed. The general atmosphere was nice but having a filthy table didn't help. I would come back for the meat and the desert.

We were having a lovely dinner, but our experience was completely ruined by the service. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, the waitress was rude. I sat for more than 10 minutes without being offered water or a menu, even though she walked past our table multiple times. When I finally requested a menu, she said, “Please relax,” and tossed it onto the table. After waiting another 20 minutes, she still had not taken our order. I had to stop her as she walked by to ask her to take it. When I asked a few questions about the menu to decide on a dish, she raised her voice and said, “You know it or you don’t.” I felt like I was in a jail, not a restaurant. When I asked for her name, she refused to tell me, so I had no choice but to take her photo to report the incident. Later, I saw her laughing and joking with another waitress, while the table next to us had to request their bill three times. Even though we are travelers to Holland, we still expect good service from a restaurant of this quality. This type of behavior is a terrible reflection of the establishment. I don’t believe I’m the only one who has experienced this, and I hope the restaurant takes action so the great food is not overshadowed by such poor service.

We booked weeks in advance to make sure we got a spot. Because it was so so busy, service was very very slow. Only one person on the front desk which was a cramped area and had people queuing out the door. Was frustrating because we had a reservation and people in front were being seated before us. Again slow service for drinks and food. Not enough staff checking in for drinks or clearing tables. The steak was incredible. Definitely a must visit. The vegan burger was unreal. The best burger of the trip. A little disappointed in the fries they were a little dry. If they had been better it would have been a perfect meal. Starter was a vegan crispy cauliflower and mayo sauce and fried chicken and chilli sauce. Was absolutely incredible. We left super full!

We were only allowed to sit outside even though there were many seats inside. The sun was blazing on our heads so it wasn't exactly comfortable. But we waited a bit until a table in the shade outside became available. The food was worth it though!!!
Cathea D — Google review
We chanced upon this restaurant outside Amsterdam Central and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, while the food was great, the service was very disappointing. We sat for about 5–10 minutes before even getting the menu, and it took another 10–15 minutes for someone to take our order. Our beef steak took almost an hour to arrive and although the menu said it would be served with white bread, none was given to us. We also ordered Heineken, the menu listed 22cl and 25cl options (just a 30ml difference), but when our 25cl beer came, it was served below the line, which made us wonder why we paid for the larger option if it wasn’t poured properly. We weren’t the only ones experiencing slow service. The elderly couple beside us waited 30 minutes just for the menu and another 30 minutes to order, only to have their beer arrive half foam. When the man went to complain, no one seemed to care, he was brushed off. Overall, while the food itself was good, the service experience really ruined the visit. It’s also disappointing to see that management only seems to reply to higher-star reviews and ignores critical feedback, which says a lot about how they value their customers.

Main course was a bit cold, waiters were friendly but sometimes things took a bit long. Other than that the food was good. The hamburger was a bit on the small side, and you definitely need to order a side dish with it.

Blushing in Amsterdam is a great spot for those with dietary restrictions, offering a variety of gluten-free snacks and cakes. The staff are attentive to allergies and take care when preparing coffee. It's an ideal place for a quick break during a busy day of shopping, offering healthy shakes and a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options and has received praise for its efficient service. Located in the Museum quarter, it provides reasonably priced healthy food options as well as delicious sugar-free cakes and vegan dishes.
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed morning. The carrot cake was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had — moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. A perfect balance with a cup of coffee.

The matcha latte was not good. Coffee not so good, but the lemon ginger shot was very refreshing. Overall the food was awesome! Especially the danish with cured salmon and avocado, super delicious. Sakshouka was wonderful. Staff was helpful too. Great ambience & wonderful wall paintings.

What a lovely surprise! Blushing turned out to be much more than just another casual spot. The interior is stylish and thoughtfully designed, with lots of charming little details — I especially loved the golden and pink bulldog statues scattered around. It really gives the place character and a playful, modern vibe. We ordered penne pasta with tomato sauce and chicken, and an avocado toast with scrambled eggs. Everything was fresh, tasty, and beautifully served. Their latte also deserves a special mention — served in a tall, faceted glass, it looked and tasted great. But what stood out most was the atmosphere. It felt calm, relaxed, and welcoming — no rush, no stress. Even though the place was busy, we never felt pressured to hurry or leave. The staff were kind and attentive, giving us space to enjoy our meal. A lovely spot for a cozy, delicious break in the city. I’d happily come back.

I really liked the carrot cake, it wasn't too sweet and it was firm, but not dry with a delicious so creamy and still not too sweet cream. And yes, it was also a good and delicious coffee! The service was pleasant, although a bit abrupt... And the atmosphere was nice, but there were too many tourists around, which made me feel like I should leave soon so that new people could come.

We had breakfast there twice during our stay in Amsterdam since we were at the hotel around the corner, and it was allways full of people. That is the reason the staff politely encourages a quick turnover at the tables and both times after we were sat down, we were asked to change tables because another group of pople came, but both times we enjoyed the athmosphere, eggs benedict and a cappucino.

Had brunch here and it was lovely. The staff were so genuinely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Range of seating ~ inside, outside in the sun or under cover. Great variety on the menu. Lovely coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Food of a very good quality. Great place to sit and enjoy food and conversation.

Nestled in the trendy De Pijp neighborhood, Coffee & Coconuts is a vibrant cafe housed in a former 1920s cinema. The airy space exudes beach-shack vibes and offers an eclectic menu featuring craft coffee and fresh coconut juice. With a Hawaiian-inspired atmosphere, this cafe serves up coconut-themed drinks alongside a variety of brunch options such as French toast, coconut pancakes, and Korean tacos. Vegan smoothie bowls are also available for health-conscious diners.
We ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, and the blend of coffee and oat milk was perfectly balanced, we were truly impressed! I highly recommend their avocado toast. You can add bacon or smoked salmon as add one but honestly, I don’t think it’s necessary because the avocado toast itself is already awesome! I strongly recommend it! I’ll definitely come back again. Hopefully next time I can try their lunch menu, it looks amazing as well

Had a business meeting here and only a fresh mint tea so food i couldn't rate , The ambiance is nice, although the new owners are about to go into a make-over so once that is done I'll have to revisit it, i bet it's going to be more vibrant , on the first floor is ample room to sit in different couverts set-ups. On the second floor there's a designated area for Flex-work where you order through QR code.

Work friendly environment made us visit this place. We had brunch, quite spacious and nice people Overall the food was good except the fries. We ordered them expecting to have more than a half of a potato for 4.5 euros… It was a disappointment m, if you go don’t order fries/potatoes For what’s worth I found it little expensive but nice place overall

If you find yourself wandering near Nieuwmarkt and craving a comforting pasta dish, look no further than Cafe Piazza. This charming eatery is a haven for gluten-free diners, offering an impressive selection of options that cater to those with gluten sensitivities. Upon arrival, simply inform the friendly staff of your dietary needs, and they will enthusiastically present you with a delightful array of choices.
Delicious pizza at a small but lovely restaurant! The pepperoni pizza was perfect -- a relatively thin (but not dry or cracker-like) crust, tasty sauce, perfect amount of cheese. The servers were all very friendly and helpful.

We had a good experience at this Italian restaurant. We ordered the Tuna Pizza, which was good, and the Pollo Pizza, which was okay but not exceptional. The Tiramisu was delicious, and the Winter Tea was also enjoyable. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was friendly. Overall, a good place .
Izabela B — Google review
Highly recommend. The restaurant is small and lovely. I am celiac and I ate here with a friend. The first thing the server asked was if there were any food allergies. I got a red napkin to identify as gluten free and a separate menu which was completely gluten free. I had the homemade lasagne and the gluten free tiramisu and it tasted excellent.
Yael R — Google review
Fantastic little italian spot. The restaurant is right on the canal with a lovely atmosphere. The gluten free menu is massive and you are given a red napkin instead of white so all the servers know you have an allergy (which I think is really useful). The food was delicious and service all round was 10/10.

As a Gluten free eater I was delighted to find this restaurant with a great menu!! The guys were so lovely. Food was great!
Kirstie B — Google review
Walked for 25mins in torrential rain and gusty winds to get here from our hotel - but was well worth it! My Mum & I were only in Amsterdam for 1 night and I'm Celiac so always research where i can eat. Chose here based on my research. The staff were so welcoming to me and my 80 year-old Mum. They took good care of us. Having so much choice of dishes I could actually eat was amazing. The only other place that's beaten this in the 25 years since my diagnosis is (but, sadly closed down) Lucy's in the Lake District, in UK. I chose the lasgane and it was wonderful. I ordered the tiramsu for pudding, even though i didn't really have room - just because I could, and we were treating ourselves! I was also really happy to see an organic wine (rose) on the menu, and had a glass, which was v nice too. My Mum also enjoyed her food. So, I highly recommend this place if you are gluten free/celiac. I'd love to come back when I next visit Amserdam.
Catherine B — Google review
Only came here based on the gluten free recommendations. Yes they were careful and had a separate menu, red napkins to show it's gluten free. But the food was rubbish, no atmosphere and the staff were clearly tired and ready to go home. I wouldn't go again, but I didn't get glutened, so if you just want a safe gluten free meal then go for it but don't have high expectations on flavour. Also very expensive, probably because of the central area.
Stephanie D — Google review
We had a really nice experience here! The staff was helpful and having a gluten free menu for one in our party was fantastic. It didn't take long to get our food and it was delicious; the pizza was done perfectly and everything had great flavor. We plan to return on our next trip to Amsterdam! And it's worth getting the bottle of wine over the carafe.

Bar
Nestled in the trendy Oud-West neighborhood of Amsterdam, Staring at Jacob is a delightful brunch bar that perfectly captures the essence of a New York-style eatery. With its inviting outdoor seating and laid-back atmosphere, this spot is popular among students and stylish locals alike. The menu boasts an impressive selection of hearty American-style dishes, from classic Eggs Benedict to mouthwatering chicken and waffles, ensuring that every appetite is satisfied.
I recently visited this place for brunch with a colleague. We arrived around 10 AM without a reservation, and luckily, we found a table right away since the place was pretty empty inside, with only one table occupied outside. The ambiance was nice and welcoming and definitely cozy. I ordered a French toast with chocolate and strawberries, which was absolutely delicious, while my colleague had an avocado dish that he also enjoyed, though I can’t recall the exact name. We also had a couple of cappuccinos. The service was generally attentive and friendly, and everyone had a smile on their face. However, there was one moment that left a less positive impression. When we were ready to order, I was finishing a phone call, and the staff didn’t interrupt, which I appreciated. After I hung up, we waited a bit and then asked the only waitress inside at the time if we could order. She was texting on her phone and asked us to wait a moment, then finished to send a message and then went out to make a phone call, leaving us waiting. Another waiter from outside eventually noticed and came to assist us, and he was very kind and helpful. I understand that personal matters can arise, but I do believe that customer service should come first, and it would have been better if she had either taken our order or asked someone else to help us right away. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I’d probably return again.
Attila B — Google review
We visited here 12 and 1 PM without a reservation and were lucky to get a table quite quickly. Ordering is done via smartphone by scanning a QR code, which was easy and convenient. I ordered the chicken and waffles and honestly, it was amazing. The waffle was perfectly crispy, and the chicken was well-marinated and flavorful. Just delicious! We couldn’t finish everything, so we asked to take the leftovers to go. There was a €0.50 charge, which I agreed to, assuming the staff would pack the food. Since it was very crowded inside, I stepped outside to wait so I wouldn’t be in the way. A staff member then came out, looked at me strangely, and asked if I didn’t want the food anymore. I was confused, and it felt a bit uncomfortable. Apparently, I was expected to pack it myself, which wasn’t clearly communicated. The food was truly great, but the service left a mixed impression. It seemed like the staff weren’t too happy to serve tourists at least, that’s how it felt to us.

I visited this restaurant on a rainy Saturday, and it was the perfect way to start the day. I had brunch with some friends, and the four of us ordered the exact same dish: waffles and fried chicken. Big minds think alike, and in this case, we were totally right! The chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy, and had a special seasoning. The waffles were fresh and slightly sweet, a perfect match for the salty chicken. The scrambled eggs were juicy and flavorful, balancing the plate nicely. I also tried a refreshing coconut drink, which I really recommend. The staff was friendly and gave us helpful recommendations. I definitely recommend this restaurant and especially their fried chicken waffles!

This is a remarkable little restaurant that I just happen to find on a whim. I made reservations before going because I saw reviews that said there would be a long wait if you did not have one. Glad I did. The food was amazing! Who knew I would come all the way to Amsterdam and find good fried chicken. The chicken was crispy and seasoned very well. Being from the south in the US, I think I can consider myself an expert on fried chicken; I’ve cooked it and eaten it for many years now. So kudos to Staring at Jacob for a well cooked chicken. It blew my mind. It was one of the best restaurants that I visited during my vacay. So I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were very thick, dense and very filling; I did not eat all. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs. The service was really great, very friendly staff. Prices were reasonable, especially for the portion sizes.
Kenikila — Google review
Food is very well seasoned and big portions. Can confirm that it tasted very much like NYC brunch (with this restaurant having “New York Brunch Bar” in the logo). Got a carnivore breakfast plate. Bacon was crispy, hashbrown had a nice kick to it with spice that tasted like shin-ramen, pancakes tasted very homemade. Came during a weekday around 12pm, no wait and not too crowded inside.
Irene L — Google review
Staring at Jacob is a well-known brunch spot in Amsterdam. It’s located in a more residential area, a bit away from the most “famous” parts of the city, but still in a great location right next to the iconic park. I have to say it was the best brunch I’ve had in Amsterdam in terms of price, quality, and menu options. My girlfriend and I ordered the All Around Carnivore, and it was incredible. I recommend going with an empty stomach because it’s honestly hard to finish the whole plate. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage and bacon had the ideal carnivore balance, the potatoes were great, and as if that wasn’t enough, you also get three big pancakes — probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Overall, the price is very reasonable for what you get — pretty standard for Amsterdam 🙂. We went on a Monday and even then, I think we wouldn’t have gotten a table without a reservation, so I definitely recommend booking ahead.
Dimax — Google review
A reservation is highly encouraged since it does get packed quick. Waitress was extremely nice and food came out quick. Eggs were fluffy as were the pancakes. The bacon was crunchy and salty. The potatoes are crispy and light. If you get the chicken and waffles the waffle is thick and the chicken is flavored perfectly.

Recommended by a friend and it was so good we came back twice in the same day! The lemon and blueberry cake is divine, and we came back in the afternoon for some of the best chocolate cake I have ever had. Loved the chai latte too! Seating is limited but a must visit if in Amsterdam. Thank you!

I got a Cinnamon Roll to go and it was tasty! The downside was the cream topping on the side as I expected the classic cream cheese but it was just whipped cream. Equally, the cinnamon roll was a little dry on the exterior but the closer you got to the center the doughier it gets. Overall it was good, but I would probably try elsewhere. The staff were friendly though! 😘

Love the concept. First time having a brunch at Ted's in AMS though. Super yummy food as per usual (and as per expectation). No flaws when it comes to the food itself, but it took quite a while to get it served. Service was a bit lacking. Issues with the coffee machine were not communicated properly. MOAK Pancakes City Center is a popular spot in Amsterdam's Oud-West neighborhood, offering American-style pancakes that are a hit with both kids and adults. The menu features a variety of sweet and savory options, including the Mancake and Blue Magic Deluxe. The cozy atmosphere and stylish decor make it an enjoyable dining experience for all ages.
Spacious and clean restaurant. Our family of 3, including our toddler, thoroughly enjoyed our food. Their fresh pressed juice, watermelon and pineapple, was the best we tried so far in Amsterdam. The staff made a mistake with our billing, but quickly rectified it and gave us a discount on our drinks. We appreciate their professionalism.
Kelly T — Google review
I have to say, as much as people rave about the pancakes, it was the juice that really stole the show for me. I ordered the pineapple juice, and it tasted like it had been freshly squeezed straight from the fruit—refreshing, vibrant, and full of flavor. As for the Mancake, it was just okay—not bad, but nothing to write home about. What did take us by surprise, though, was the shredded chicken. It was incredibly tender and seasoned just right—definitely a highlight of the meal. If you’re planning to drop by, I’d recommend giving that a try. They don’t accept split bill if you come with several friends. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole place has a laid-back, cozy vibe that made the experience even better. All in all, a lovely spot with a few standout items on the menu!

I would definitely recommend coming for a brunch between friends for the salted pancakes / toast. However I couldn’t finish the sweet pancakes we took 2 differents kinds and the pancake have a kind of weird taste, the chocolate sauce also had a very specific taste that I didn’t quite like. The fruit juice were good (except the watermelon one) Unfortunately we could not finish them, not even half of them

Visited Moak pancakes for brunch and really enjoyed their fluffy pancakes and their wide selection of delicious brunch options. I had ordered the pink lady, which was perfectly complemented with the salmon and créme fraîche and really enjoyed the mix of savoury and sweet flavours. Their watermelon juice was great and I liked that it was served in a unique way. The service was great and accommodating and we received our food pretty quickly after ordering, which was great. Would highly recommend this place for brunch

It is what it is advertised. Pancake in both Savory and sweet. We love The Weekend - the amount of maple syrup is just enough that doesn’t overpower the cheese. They also do non diary version. The staff is very friendly and treat us to us (adults) a pure ginger shot each as appetiser on the house - it’s serious good stuff this! The house special pistachios ice cream is top notch. We all (the including kids) came out feeling very satisfied indeed! On top of cuisine the atmosphere is great. They play vinyl records in different genre music too. Would recommend.

Located in the charming Reestraat area of Amsterdam, Ree 7 offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere away from the bustling Instagram-centric scenes. The café boasts seasonally decorated windows, quaint outdoor seating, and a delightful display of freshly baked goods. Whether it's enjoying hot chocolate after a snowy stroll or indulging in delectable treats like cakes, milkshakes, and eggs Benedict, Ree 7 provides a warm respite for locals and visitors alike.
A cozy, well-heated, and nicely decorated place. They have a wide variety of pastries, toast, and croissants, as well as coffees and natural smoothies. I couldn’t resist trying their pumpkin spice latte and it was delicious. The service is a bit slow, but the staff is very attentive and friendly.
Mary R — Google review
The place itself is really cute and cosy, we loved it. The food we had was absolutely amazing, so tasty and well presented. I also tried the pink matcha latte and was genuinely impressed. The matcha was really smooth, no powdery bits at all, just perfectly mixed. We also ordered an apple juice, expecting something freshly squeezed, but it came from a bottle and was just poured into a glass, which was a bit disappointing to be honest. The only downside was the service, which was quite slow. We ended up waiting a fair bit and I noticed there was only one waitress working the whole café, so they probably had a staff shortage. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but then again, most places in Amsterdam are, so I can’t really complain. Overall, a lovely spot with great food and drinks, just don’t go if you’re in a rush.
Hazar S — Google review
This little place is very cosy! I think that it was one of the best matcha that I have ever drank, the orange juice is delicious and the Yogurt Bowl is so fresh! You have a delicious yogurt with homemade granola and a large amount of fruits like strawberries, banana, blueberries, kiwi and raspberries! 🥝

Brilliant place for breakfast. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Both drinks and food were fantastic too.
Holly S — Google review
Visited this popular spot but had a disappointing experience. We were seated promptly, which was a good start, but service quickly fell short. Only one staff member was working out front, and although extra help arrived, it didn’t make much difference. We had to call someone over to place our order after being overlooked, while others who arrived later were served first. Our order included French toast, an açaí bowl, and two iced coffees. The coffees were made quickly but left sitting on the counter while we waited for food. The French toast arrived without toppings and had to be returned; when it came back, there was a hair in the cream. The açaí bowl never arrived at all, i didn’t think to moan and complain as i knew they were rushed/understaff. did mention once paying The coffees were good, but overall service felt disorganized. I understand staffing issues happen, but continuing to accept large groups without adequate support really impacted the experience.

Cute, little place in the middle of the centre. Cosy atmosphere on the inside, looked a bit crouded on the inside, but still nice to be. I sat on the terrasse, lovely to see people passing by while I was waiting for my freshly made ice tea and acai bowl. Very friendly waitress, the place has got an eye for detail with their matching straws and napkins ☺️.

McDonald's is a well-known fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. It operates during specific hours, offering quick service to customers. Visitors often find the experience of ordering through kiosks convenient, with minimal wait times for fresh food. The friendly staff and unique atmosphere at different locations add to the appeal. Customers from abroad often seek out local specialties like the McKroket in Amsterdam or Mexican crispy chicken, while others note slight price variations but generally positive experiences at various international branches.
Basic McDonald's with no toilet but has good food, coffe and service. I stoped for breakfast.
Roberto F — Google review
I waited over 10 minutes just to get a coffee, which is unacceptable for a fast food restaurant. On top of that, the place smelled strongly of urine, making the experience very unpleasant. Definitely not what I expected from a McDonald’s.

🤡🤡🤡🤡 You pay 4.40 for a McFlurry and it's not even half full. Also, they ony call 2 last digits out of your four-digit order and then they are surprised that you don't respond (there were at least 3 other people besides me that didn't realise they were being called).

Clean and service was quick. Expect it to be like any other mcdonald’s. Overall good experience.
Yingying — Google review
I recently visited the McDonald's branch in Amsterdam, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. When my party and I walked in, we encountered several issues that disappointed us. First and foremost, the reception we received was not friendly at all. The staff seemed disinterested and unengaging, which immediately set a negative tone for our visit. We approached the self-service order kiosk to place our order, hoping for a quick and efficient process. However, to our dismay, the kiosk was broken and failed to print our receipt. Despite trying to explain the situation to the lady at the counter, we were met with indifference. Instead of offering assistance or an alternative solution, she merely kept repeating, "wait," without paying any attention to our concerns. This lack of responsiveness left us feeling ignored and frustrated. As customers, we expect a certain level of service and courtesy, especially when facing technical difficulties that were beyond our control. The staff's dismissive attitude only added to our disappointment. Eventually, after what felt like an eternity, we were finally able to obtain our food. However, the entire experience had already left a sour taste in our mouths, overshadowing any enjoyment we might have derived from the meal itself. As a frequent visitor to various McDonald's branches, I have come to appreciate the brand's consistency in delivering a pleasant dining experience. Regrettably, this particular visit to the Amsterdam branch fell short of those expectations. I hope that management takes note of our feedback and works towards improving the level of customer service at this location. In conclusion, based on my recent visit, I cannot recommend this particular McDonald’s branch in Amsterdam. Until they address the issues we encountered, I would advise patrons to consider alternative locations for a more enjoyable and hassle-free dining experience.
Dr. T — Google review
I only give a one-star review if there was absolutely no benefit from visiting a place, or if the experience was exceptionally bad. Unfortunately, this visit gave me neither benefit nor anything remotely positive - it was just a waste of time. I went in to grab something quick before catching my train. The menu was, unsurprisingly, the same boring selection I’ve seen at McDonald’s in the Netherlands and Germany. Still, I followed the instructions on the self-order kiosk. My first attempt to pay with my phone’s NFC failed, so I took out my debit card, but the card reader froze, and the kiosk screen was stuck at "follow the instructions". Both were unresponsive, and I stood there for four or five minutes wondering if I should keep waiting or go catch my train. I ended up leaving empty-handed, stressed, and hungry.
Abinav P — Google review
This was my second time in this specific branch, I’ve been to McDonald’s I. some pretty tough neighborhoods. This has to be the worst McDonald’s in the world. The staff was trying to be helpful and support customers as much as possible. The shift manager was just busy berating them and giving counter orders in front of customers, and addressing customers themselves with the rude tone, and no care for form whatsoever.

Bakhuys Amsterdam is a long-standing family bakery located near Weesperplein metro on Sarphatistraat. The bakery offers a wide variety of freshly baked goods including sourdough bread, pizza, pastries, and breakfast items. The inviting aroma of freshly baked treats fills the air from 7am onwards, attracting locals and visitors alike.
I had an amazing Latte Macchiato and a delicious Croissant here. Both were absolutely wonderful, reminded me of my Italy vacation days. I'm definitely coming back here again. Added later: I visited again for breakfast on Saturday 27th Sept. Had a cappuccino, croissant and a nice cheese-tomato-pesto sandwich, and I loved all 3. This place is one of my favourites in Amsterdam now.

The products are not best but they are fresh. Focaccias and pizzas were delicious but we didn’t like the cookies and cinnamon bun. The tables are very dirty I think no one cleans or wipes them. We struggled to sit at a table and eventually we cleaned our own table.
Kardelen T — Google review
I had them for breakfast. Their bakeries are excellent. They have lots of vegetarian and cheese stuff, so it's good for halal too. They have tea, hot coffee, and iced coffee. The coffee wasn't great. I got a flat white, and the beans tasted old and bitter. They have a big indoor seating area. They always have a queue, but they are fast. The staff are friendly. I would recommend basil tomato toast, butter sandwich, and cheese sandwich.

Had a really nice breakfast at this wonderful bakery. Everything is fresh and baked on-site. The space is large, the service is friendly and efficient, and the pastries are excellent. The cinnamon bun was a bit dry and lacked a strong cinnamon flavor, but the pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins were absolutely delicious. The cappuccino and the espresso were also very good. I’d definitely recommend this place!

A great place for breakfast if you happen to be in the area. There's a huge variety of confections, most of which are great.. there's very decent coffee as well, so that is icing on the cake (pun intended!). You order the food and then take it to your table .. you have to go and pick up your coffee too which works fine.. the seating area is spacious and has the nouveau 'industrial vibe', which is cosy and welcoming. The freshly pressed orange juice is great as well... Recommended!

Rarely i find some perfect restaurants from all aspects.. what i found here is warm hospitality and GREAT SOUL TOUCH FOOD. Make a reservation, as it’s always very busy. The location is beautiful—calm and green, a peaceful spot in the city. The interior is very cozy, and when the weather is nice, it’s amazing to sit outside and enjoy the garden. Food: It seems like the prices have gone up while the portion sizes have decreased. The Chuck Norris sandwich costs €18, which feels quite high for what you get. I had the savoury kadaif—it's a nice and unique dish, but again, I think €16 is too much. The prices of the 'Sides' are also not in proportion. 5 euro for a smashed avocado! They usually offer a wide variety of desserts, but unfortunately, there weren’t many left. We ordered the apple pie, which tasted great, but the portion was very small. Overall, it was a nice experience. However, I’d suggest reviewing the portion sizes, and the service could definitely be a bit quicker.

The food was delicious, we ordered the savory Dutch and the brave basque and they were both very good. New options that we had not ordered before. June was a magnificent server and she gave us great advice when ordering and about Amsterdam in general. The place is super cozy and nice. I recommend making reservations as it gets quite busy in weekends. I have also had the kale hash poached eggs which I think have been my favorite so far. I will definitely be back to try more things. Thank you!

Had a reservation at 12, we only managed to order by 12:30 which seems a little strange considering that we only have 1,5 hours for our reservation. We ordered pancakes as dessert and i asked for extra set of cutlery. Had to wait a little to get those, so ended up grabbing them myself. I think this place def could use an extra pair of hands for FOH. Food was pretty nice. Interesting and new combinations of flavors.
Masha E — Google review
I really liked the atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor areas are lovely. I do think the prices are way too high for the portion sizes. The flavours did not blow me away. The plating was nice but I felt that the quality of the food could be improved. I had the baguette with bresaola, which could have easily been elevated with a sourdough. I think it’s very basic compared to the price although the ambience was nice.

Lovely location for lunch, with calm garden views. We both had the “Benny Boy”: hash brown - poached eggs - topped with avocado (for me) and trout (for my boyfriend). This was such a delicious mouthful, felt happy and re-energized with good food after this meal. I would recommend to make reservations in advance as it can get pretty busy.

Cut Throat is a unique establishment in the heart of Amsterdam that seamlessly combines a barber shop with a restaurant and bar. With offerings like jerk burgers, spiked coladas, chicken and waffles, breakfast tacos, and more, it's an ideal spot for a casual brunch or drinks.
I ran 5 miles to get here, and it was absolutely worth every step! The jerk chicken was phenomenal—perfectly seasoned with that authentic kick and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere really stood out, with classy décor that made the place feel both inviting and stylish. On top of that, they’ve got a barbershop inside, which adds such a cool and unique vibe you won’t find anywhere else. What made the experience even better was the service—especially from the guy with the Mohawk mullet. He was super attentive, quick, and genuinely hospitable, making sure everything was spot-on the whole time. The music rounded out the experience perfectly, creating a lively yet laid-back energy. This spot isn’t just about great food—it’s about the whole experience. After a long run, it was the perfect fuel-up, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Absolutely adore the concept here especially with the in-house DJ! The service was great and fast that we got our food in about 10min, we ordered their vegan dishes that include Vegan chicken & waffles, Vegan burger bites and Vegan Katsu Curry and honestly they were all a 10/10 so worth the price and the portions were more than filling! Loulou Pizzabar is a charming restaurant in Amsterdam that offers a casual dining experience with Italian-style small plates, delectable pizzas, refreshing drinks, and delightful desserts. What sets Loulou Pizzabar apart is its dedication to perfecting gluten-free pizza recipes with the help of their lab in Italy.
I had a really lovely time at this pizzeria! The atmosphere was super cozy and welcoming . I really appreciated the gluten-free options, which can be hard to find at most places. The gluten-free pizza itself had a nice flavor, though I have to say it was a bit dry and quite difficult to cut — the crust could have been softer. Still, I really enjoyed the overall experience and I’m grateful to have found it. Thank you I’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing dinner at this pizza place! The four of us each ordered a different pizza, which was so delicious that we ended up sharing everything just to make sure we didn’t miss a single flavour. Every bite was packed with incredible taste – fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and unique combinations. A true pizza experience we’ll remember!

So I heard this place from a lot of people and I went without making any reservations. I thought, I think it was on a Saturday. There was like a 10-minute wait, I would say, but that was like an unnecessary wait, I think. So you just go and queue and then whenever they notice you, they give you a table. Them noticing you is the hard part 🤓 Anyways, the service is really nice, they're proper Italians, like the kitchen staff speaks Italian to each other, and the pizza was so, so good. I had the one that got the award, I forget what it was called, it's with the really crispy aubergines. From a sensory perspective, it was really, really nice, because the aubergine cut gives a super nice crunch to the pizza and also a really nice flavor. I would definitely go again. Also nice location, outdoor seating has a cute view and you can also order to go.
Bertuğ B — Google review
We booked online as we saw in reviews it was busy and we were right to do so. They were very busy and had lots of take away pizzas too. We had a gluten free pizza (buratta) and a regular (salami). Both thought they were very tasty, very thin crust. The gluten free is suitable for coeliacs as it is cooked in a separate oven and prepared in a separate area (staff confirmed this). Overall a nice pizza and ok service! Would like some other gluten free dessert options other than panacotta.

I’d heard a lot about this place so we had to try it out whilst we were in Amsterdam. The restaurant is right by the canal so it was a lovely walk there and gorgeous views too. We were seated very quickly and drinks/food also arrived in good time. I ordered the melanzane alla parmigiana for a starter and the tartufo pizza (parma ham, rocket, truffle cream). Both were amazing! The waiters were knowledgeable about allergies and assured me that the gluten free pizzas were prepared in a separate area with gloves and separate boxes of toppings, and cooked in a separate oven! This was the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. The service here was great and the prices were some of the more reasonable prices we’ve seen in Amsterdam.

2 adults and two kids eating early dinner. It’s a popular place, so unless you show up when they open, I recommend table reservations. All pizzas were very delicious and well prepared. The food was very authentic and delicious. It was quite a busy place. We ordered two starters and two main courses, and it was a lot of food. The portions were really huge. The dorado fish was very delicious. The coconut rice that came with the fish was very flavorful. The patacones and steak with chimichurri were very good as well. The price is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I’m Colombian and came here hoping to enjoy a bit of home — and overall, it was a really nice experience! The food wasn’t fantastic, but it was tasty and comforting. For Colombians living abroad, this place is definitely a little treasure. We ordered a dish similar to Bandeja Paisa, with rice, beans, pork belly, fried plantain, and avocado — very flavorful and well served. The maracuyá juice was super refreshing and delicious! The only thing that could be improved was the steak, which was a bit tough and not as juicy or seasoned as we usually have it in Colombia. The portions were generous, the service was kind, and the atmosphere felt cozy and familiar. I’d happily come back to try more dishes and enjoy another maracuyá juice! 🇨🇴✨

It was a messy start of the evening… Waiting 15 minutes outside but ones inside Steve made everything up with his great service and the very nice food! It was sad that the Naan oven did not work. We opted for Chef's Menu and it was not worth the price! I think we should have selected the dishes from regular menu as we would have got better dishes for similar price. Anyway, that's our mistake as the host had let us know the dishes within the Chef's menu. The reason for 3 star rating are - 1. For this class of restaurant, I would expect certain level of service which includes changing of dishes after every course. Do you really expect us to eat main course in a dish which was already dirty from prior course? The taste would mixup if we eat main course in the same dish. 2. The dishes are really small (marked in the image). The size of dish is good for starter but not for main course. How do you expect one to eat Naan and veggie or curry in the same dish? As an Indian you would certainly know how we eat bread and rice with curry or sabzi. 3. The dishes served were shareables. If you do not provide serving spoon with the dishes, how do you expect us to serve it in our plates? Should we all dip the Naan in the same bowl and eat? That's unhygienic! Again, for the class of restaurant, we shouldn't be asking for spoons and dishes. 4. We were 5 of us for dinner and were surprised that splitting of checks was not allowed. I completely understand that splitting by 5 could be a problem but splitting by 2 is very common practice. The food tasted well. But overall service didnt live up to the rating standards. I was very excited to bring my colleagues from US for dinner at a good Indian restaurant (per google rating) but everyone was disappointed by the quality of service. It feels bad when people say to you that food is good but wouldn't come next time. I really hope that quality of service improves!!!

By far one of the best meals we’ve had on our trip! We got the Chef’s menu with cocktail pairing. It was a shared menu, and came with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Which all came with a paired cocktail. The food was amazing and the drinks were made to perfection! As dessert came out, our waiter came out with Miri Mary tote bags to bring home. Great food…pretty authentic from the starter to the desserts. The paneer, butter chicken, dhal, caramelised pineapple etc are super good. The naan is gorgeous even on its own. We (group of 7) enjoyed the food very much. There is option for vegetarian. Not forgetting the great service. Thank you and will definitely return.

A great Indian place with a twist - many dishes are European by origin, but made „more Indian”. The arrancini were great, as was the steamed pineapple. Very kind service from Rakib and his colleagues - thank you. Mind you - the place is quite small inside and can get pretty noisy when full

Tjin's is a small store known for its hot sauces and other Asian and South American products, making it a hotspot for those who enjoy adding some spice to their lives. While the Surinamese sandwiches are decent, there are better options nearby. Customers rave about the flavorful dishes such as cod, curry prawns, and silver herring, all packed with delicious spices. The in-house Surinamese hot sauce comes highly recommended.
This place is great! We went for the cod, curry prawns and silver herring, which were all delicious. Packed with flavour and spice. I cannot recommend adding (and purchasing) their in-house Surinamese hot sauce. It is glorious.

Food was absolutely delicious. Tried the cod sandwich and it was so good I had to get another one to go. Second sandwich I ordered was the honey roasted pork. Both were awesome and you should try them. The staff were so nice and helpful and showed me how they make their pork. Great experience, highly recommend.

Authentic & delicious. Best sandwiches in town. You get your food fast and with a smile whilst listening to nice beats in the background. The moment you take your first bite it feels like you are on a short vacation elsewhere. They have nice vegetarian options, too.

Found myself going into the shop on a rainy afternoon, and little did I know it would be my best gastronomic experience in Amsterdam. The food was outstanding (especially the homemade sauce), but I must say Ryan is what brought it over the top, with his superb knowledge of Surinamese heritage and warm and welcoming personality.

Small store for hot sauces and other Asian and South American products. Best 10 square meters of the city for people who like to spice things up. Surinamese sandwiches are quite okay but there are some better options close by...

An institute in Amsterdam. For me it's the best Surinamese food you can get. You can taste the attention of detail in the ingredients. For instance the tja sieuw-sandwich (roasted pork), which is barbecued and smoked with three different types of wood: cherry, apple, plum (rare). Their homemade hotsauce, the amazing sausages. Must visit when you're in Amsterdam.

Ice Bakery is a popular bubble tea store in London. They offer a variety of Bubble Tea flavors and items such as scones, cookies, and yogurt. The store is brightly lit and decorated with lots of cute ice cream related items.
Super cute shop for Dutch waffles with an amazing smell and a great location. I went for the classic one, but they also offer other versions like pistachio, chocolate, raspberry, and strawberry. It was around eight dollars for the regular one. You can probably find cheaper elsewhere, but this spot is adorable and right in the middle of everything.
Salwa L — Google review
If you’re into desserts that are both fancy and indulgent, FA. Stroop is definitely the spot. Stroopwafels galore, with plenty of options to keep your sweet tooth busy. 🍯 But fair warning: these are very sweet like, one-stroopwafel-and-you’re-done sweet. Also, pro tip from experience: do not let the caramel touch your fingers. Unless you enjoy walking around with sticky hands and no escape plan, because that stuff clings like it’s holding a grudge. 😅 Ratings: 🍴 Food: 3.5/5 🛎 Service & Ambience: 4/5 💸 Money’s Worth: 3.5/
Pratik S — Google review
A sweet little find in Amsterdam! Firma Stroopwafels is cute, tidy, and staffed by genuinely kind people who love what they do. The live-making aspect-seeing your stroopwafel formed and filled right in front of you-adds a lot of charm and makes the snack feel special. On taste, the stroopwafels are pleasant and adequately sweet, though I found them a bit less aromatic and bold than others I've tried. They're smooth and tasty without being overwhelming, which might appeal more to those who prefer a lighter, sweeter treat rather than an intense caramel hit. Overall, a delightful stop for a leisurely snack and a friendly experience.
Foodie T — Google review
If you love caramel and cinnamon, you’re going to fall in love with stroopwafels. This classic Dutch treat is made of two thin, crispy waffles with a layer of rich, gooey caramel syrup in the middle. The hint of cinnamon gives it that warm, cozy flavor that makes it perfect with a cup of coffee or tea. Sweet, chewy, and absolutely irresistible — a must-try for any dessert lover!
Gabriela-Ana C — Google review
Woooooo! I had my first freshly made stroopwafel at FA. Stroop and life will never be the same. They offered stroopwafels with candy and cookies on top - and I'm SO GLAD I went for the original. The candy and cookies would have taken away from the glorious caramel. The vanilla comes through and it's absolutely lovely. The shop is ADORABLE and has an old timey charm that can't be fully appreciated unless you pop in.
Heather L — Google review
Interesting stroop waffel shop. Crowded with tourists all the time. There are multiple colourful versions of stroop waffels with various spreads and toppings. Look pretty decadent and damanging to your blood vessels lol Good enough for a try and one time vacation fun I guess.

Takeout Restaurant
Paon Bali, located on the KNSM island, is not your typical restaurant but a Balinese warung run by Steven and Dyan. It's highly recommended by locals for its authentic and traditionally spicy Indonesian cuisine. The menu offers dishes like Nasi Linguan with marinated anchovies, prawn sambal, sambal matah, mackerel in tomato-based sauce, and squid served with a mix of red and white rice.
As a Balinese travelling to Amsterdam, I found this place is really authentic. Just remind me of home. The owner is very welcome and friendly. The food is great! I believe Balinese, Indonesian, or Western would enjoy the food easily. Would definitely pay another visit if I go to Amsterdam again. Recommended!
Darma P — Google review
If you are in Amsterdam, and you are breathing, you must come here. Queue was stowed out the door when we showed up around 1830 and didn’t subside even after we left around 1845. Got the Paon Bali which was some lovely fragrant rice, and then a delicious medley of all the different curries, veggies and deep fried goodness (9 different items if I remember correctly). The absolute without a doubt highlight of the dish was the slow roasted pork belly, full of fatty deliciousness glazed with something magical, slow roasted so that it just melted in my mouth. Magnifique! The metaphorical cherry that topped this very non metaphorical collage of cultural creations were the perfectly roasted peanuts (that did physically top the dish !!!). The dusting of nuts went perfectly with all the other constituent parts to add a nice crunch to every bite. Wow wow and wow, thank you so much for showing me food I’ve never experienced before. It was brilliant to see this part of Amsterdam as well, very much worth the travel. Really hoping Balinese food makes it to Glasgow. Also obligatory mention to the lovely staff and quick turnaround time. Cheers!

Food: I was told on social media thst this was a great spot for kapsalon and it was fine. I ordered a big portion which was way too much for me but it still tasted pretty good. Their chicken sandwich is really great. It’s packed with delicious shredded chicken and a good amount of lettuce and sauce. They definitely specialize in meat-based meals here, as their vegetarian options are sparse and I found the falafel to be disappointing. Saw this place on a Munchies YouTube video about late night food in Amsterdam so had to try it out. We got there at 3 pm on a weekday, also this was in mid September. There was only one other customer there but by the time we left the restaurant was half full so we got there at the right time. For food we ordered a beef kapasalon. This was great, the fries were cooked to a crisp, the cheese amazing, meat flavorful and we had the bottle of garlic sauce at our table so could not ask for anything more. Large portion as well!

A very nice breakfast place in the centre of Amsterdam. The selected dishes were freshly prepared and tasted very good. The scrambled eggs were very creamy and delicious, the Bircher muesli was perfect in consistency and great in flavour. The service was very friendly, attentive and quick. Not an insider tip, but definitely a recommendation for a very tasty brunch.

10/10. The food was amazing and the staff was the best! The woman who served us was super kind — my friend was feeling a bit dizzy, and as soon as we arrived, she gave her a banana to help her feel better. My friends and I fell in love with her. We’ll definitely come back on our next trip to Amsterdam!

As an American and a serious breakfast person, I often find it tough to get that perfect breakfast experience while traveling abroad—but Bakers & Roasters absolutely nailed it. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was warm, attentive, and welcoming. The food? Exceptional. The eggs were cooked to perfection—light, fluffy, and flavorful. The pancakes? Presented like royalty and tasted even better. And let’s talk about the freshly squeezed orange juice—exactly how I like it, bright and refreshing. Every detail, from the plating to the service, made this a 5-star experience. If you’re in Amsterdam and love breakfast as much as I do, this is the spot. Don’t miss it!

The vibes are awesome, staff are really friendly and most importantly - the food is amazing! I had the Navajo Eggs with a refreshing Turmeric and orange drink - best food we had in Amsterdam without a doubt - highly recommend visiting if you are here

A great New Zealand inspired brunch restaurant. They’ve existed for many years, and the service has been good whenever I visited. Food doesn’t take long to arrive, and the portions will definitely fill you up! The prices are a bit higher than overall in Amsterdam, but the quality makes up for that. You get what you pay for, and I haven’t ever had a bad meal here. The music is also nice and soft so it’s easy to talk. Sometimes waits can get long over the weekend, especially in the summer, so an online reservation helps.

A nice experience at Café de Paris. We went there without a reservation and everything was ok. The food is very good, amazingly tasty but from my point of view, slightly overpriced. Also, very friendly staff. For surely, I will come back.
Ovidiu B — Google review
A big space with great decor, Cafe de Paris impresses with the setting but doesn’t fare too well in terms of food, and especially not in terms of service. We ordered the cheeseburger which was decent, and the vegan steak, which was a thoroughly disappointing entree: literally a partially baked eggplant with some fantastic beetroot sauce (the only thing that saved the dish). Perhaps they could have fared better with actual meat substitutes instead of a poorly thought-of idea of what vegetarian food should be like. The chocolate lava cake dessert we ordered was mostly flavorless and underwhelming. Portions were decent, but the service was really slow. It seemed they only had three people working the floor for about 20+ tables so catching someone’s eye to order took at least 10 minutes each time. On the plus side our server was quite delightful. They take reservations, though on a weeknight there is plenty of space for walk-ins. I’d say: come for the ambience, but don’t expect a grand culinary experience.
Tushar M — Google review
On a sunny day it is delightful to sit outside and chat with a cocktail. But for chilly days you can sit inside and enjoy all the lovely food they have! My favorite brunch item is the steak and egg together with those lovely truffle fries. Pair those with a glass of scropino and enjoy your afternoon brunch with some friends. Would recommend the place for sure!
Kaez — Google review
Awesome atmosphere, food is delicious but the serving outdoor is veeery slow, the people next to me came later but was served first. As I had to wait for 6pm, I order Mimosa drink and truffle fries, then ordered a cheeseburger and white wine. Got bread and butter in meantime with my drinks between food. Chefs of Amsterdam know how to cook beef, the burger was so juicy but well done that I wanted to congratulate the kitchen myself. So if you are in no hurry, and want to eat great food then this is your restaurant

This place is frankly awful. Tea was lukewarm, don’t think the orange juice was freshly squeezed and the Metropolitan eggs were absolutely terrible. Runny eggs are good; raw eggs on a cold hamburger bun with freezing cold avocado and some bacon is really quite revolting.

Benji’s in Amsterdam is a nice little spot with a cool vibe, but honestly not really worth all the hype. I ordered a matcha and the egg brioche sandwich. The food was ok, nothing bad but also nothing that really stood out. I ended up walking 45 minutes to get there, which made it feel a bit underwhelming in the end. That being said, if you’re in the neighborhood it’s definitely worth checking out once. The place has a nice atmosphere and it seems like a good hangout spot, especially if you live close by. But if you’re planning to travel far just for it, I’d probably say skip it ; there are plenty of other cafés in Amsterdam that are just as good if not better.

Great Terrace and Solid Food on a Quiet Canal I live nearby and find myself at Hendrix often, mostly for its excellent terrace. I rarely leave reviews, but this place truly deserves one. This café has become a little sanctuary of comfort and beauty in everyday life — where flavors, atmosphere, and genuine human warmth are woven together so effortlessly🌱🌱🌱🫶🏻 Most of all, I would like to thank the girls who work here. They don’t simply serve guests — they create an experience. With their bright smiles and kind presence, they make you feel less like a customer and more like a welcomed friend. Every gesture, every word carries a quiet grace and attention to detail👏🏻😁 The coffee itself is wonderful, but even more memorable is the feeling that lingers long after you leave: lightness, joy, and a sense of being cared for. This café is not just a place to stop by — it’s a small island of kindness, charm, and soul. Thank you, girls, for filling this space with your warmth. You turn an ordinary visit into something unforgettable☕️💖

Delicious and nicely presented breakfast-focused food. I liked the chia pudding — they have a few varieties (cocoa, dragon fruit & coconut, and matcha), all very interesting and tasty. The warm oats were great for colder mornings and beautifully presented. The coconut matcha latte was super good, definitely above average for Amsterdam! The coffee (Americano and cappuccino) was also nice. There were several other interesting hot drinks on the menu that I’d like to try next time. I would only improve the interior: it would be much nicer if the place felt a bit cozier, making you want to stay and enjoy it for longer.

We will do again!! We found this cruise by watching YouTube. I wish we could credit the couple that toured and suggested. The food looked great online and in person. For such a small prep and serving staff (just 4!), everyone was sat, fed, and checked on regularly. We were sent a link the night before to order our meals and had the option of ordering more than one entree per person for a small extra fee, that was cool because my guy usually eats 2 entrees. The drinks were perfect and we expected them to be light, but after just one I felt tipsy! The seats are low, so you kind of fave to sit up straight to see over the side of the boat. We sat close to the bar to stay out of the direct light under the overhead tarp. Thawte have the ability to close the entire top, but didn't need to.

The boat is nice but that time it is so loud because of groups of people around like shouting most of the time. We had the bottomless drinks but there were just few options for it, they could have added coffee on the bottomless drinks menu. The food is ok nothing special. I think they could have made the food better and the drinks with more variants. It's ok to experience but would not do it again.

I’ve been multiple times - Amazing hospitality and best brunch food you can find on a boat in Amsterdam. Had the pleasure of meeting Miss G herself and tasting her homemade hot sauce along side brunch which was delicious and hearing about how the brunch boat came about, not to mention the cute candies that come with the mimosas! They were also kind enough to help me retrieve my forgotten phone so would 100% recommend people to go!

Beautiful canal boat. Excellent food. Lovely atmosphere and very good value for money. The cruise lasted about 90 minutes. The only downside was that it took quite a long time to serve everybody and we were the last table to get our food so the cruise finished right as we finished eating. The serving staff seemed a bit stressed. That did not however detract from our overall experience. I would highly recommend Miss G’s Brunch Boat.

Wonderful experience, we didn’t have a lot of time in Amsterdam and when we discovered Miss G’s it gave us an opportunity to have a lovely brunch with our party and explore the canals of Amsterdam. The food was wall made and delicious, the staff were really attentive making sure we had drinks and food. The canal boat was lovely, far exceeded our expectations. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. Can’t recommend Miss G’s brunch boat enough, a must on your visit to Amsterdam. Thanks again Miss G!

The Breakfast Club in Oud-West is a popular brunch spot with an American-inspired menu and creative cocktails. The convivial atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy comfort food. While walk-ins are possible, booking ahead is recommended due to its popularity. Customers praise the friendly service and delicious food, particularly recommending the egg Benedict. It's also noted for excellent lunch options and respectful staff.
Really nice pancakes and coffee. Staff were friendly and super helpful and attentive. Highly recommend.

I recently had an amazing breakfast experience at a charming café that I can't stop raving about! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm smiles of the staff, who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to start the day. I ordered a delicious cappuccino, which was perfectly frothy and rich in flavor. It paired beautifully with the fluffy pancakes, which were light, fluffy, and topped with fresh fruit and a drizzle of maple syrup. Each bite was a delightful treat, and I could tell that everything was made with care and attention to detail. The overall atmosphere of the café, combined with the outstanding service and delectable food, made for a memorable breakfast. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic way to kick off their day!

Great breakfast place. Cappuccino was perfect and the food was wonderful. It took us a while to walk there but was worth it. Just around the corner was a street food market with tons of great fruit, snacks etc.
James G — Google review
I found this place on Google and tried it. It was amazing Sunday morning find. The vibes were amazing. I had pancakes and they were very tasty and fluffy too. A bit on the sweeter side though. And a bit on cheaper side from the fancy restaurants in the city centre. That’s a plus point.
Rajendra K — Google review
We had brunch and ordered a mix of food—a burger, a veggie toast, and a special toast for our friend who’s allergic to sesame. The food was awesome, and the staff was super friendly. I can’t remember the names of the drinks we picked, but they were really good too.
Jessica F — Google review
The most amazing breakfast, probably the best we had whilst on holiday in Amsterdam! Definitely worth a visit.
Bradley P — Google review
I ordered a coffee and a London Breakfast. They brought me the coffee, but after more than 30 minutes I had to ask about the food — they had never taken my order. After waiting even longer, they finally brought me a New York, which wasn’t what I asked for. It’s my second time coming here, and unfortunately, the second time they’ve brought me something different from what I ordered.

the blueberry pancakes were a bit too chewy for me personally, but the méxico city breakfast was good! the staff was really nice.:)

Toos&Roos is a charming little restaurant located in Herengracht 309. The atmosphere is friendly and the service accommodating, making it a great spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The food is freshly prepared, with a fine menu offering delicious options like sandwiches and soups. While some dishes like the Tuna Melt sandwich are highly recommended, others such as the Old Amsterdam cheese sandwich may become a bit monotonous after a while.
We gave this place a shot and weren’t disappointed. The vibe was great and the staff was amazing. The food went above our expectations. I’ve never had a sandwich with that much bacon! Loved it😊

This is a lovley little place for a good breakfast. You get a quite big amout of food for a good price. The food is delicious and served in a very cute way :-) The staff is friendly. Only the tabels could be a bit bigger and the Room may should be renovated.
Jeaxin — Google review
The place in general is fine no big deal about the food and atmosphere. But the waiter would have been nicer if he can smile a bit. And it all gets worse when we (4 persons) wanted to pay separately and he says if you do that we have to add 1€ per person, I said I never heard about that before, he replied everyone has his own rules(super rude).
Abdelrahman K — Google review
Loved this place. Actually came here twice because it was so good (: We tried the English breakfast, pancakes with and without banana, the croque monsieur and the toos&roos club sandwich. All of it was delicious! The waiters was very sweet and polite! If you are in that area I‘d definitely recommend this place for breakfast, brunch or lunch!

Friendly staff, good food and nice little spot! Stayed for a while and the team continued to check in on the table. Ordered several coffees which were great and the salmon omelette (pictured) which was a huge portion. A nice spot for people watching. Would revisit and would recommend!

Good place for an emergency meal when you don’t find a spot. The staff is very friendly although you can tell that they’re a little bit stretched because this piece is so small that only accommodates three people working, including the chef. Overall, we had a good experience and the meal where is good, although the soup was too salty
L G — Google review
Firstly, the croque madame was insanely good - like we were so surprised at how delicious it was. We ended up eating here as Chun further down the street was a 1hr wait (and that was before you were seated). The food here was good but it was very slow. Just looking back at my photos the time stamps show a 20minute wait between receiving our coffees and receiving our toasties - not including how long it took for the server to take our order in the first place and bring us the bill at the end. We were probably there for around an hour anyway. Staff seem over stretched despite it being a small location. Good if you have time to wait.
Alisha — Google review
We spontaneously visited this place to have a late breakfast as all other places were packed in the same street. There were still lots of tables available here so we gave it a shot. From the beginning it was a bit uncomfortable as the music was super loud. For a breakfast café it should be toned down a bit. It also took a looong time for the staff to come over and take our order. Even though there were only very few customers. We had a cappuccino, sandwiches with chicken & bacon and one with tuna melt. The bread was not the kind we expected- we thought it would be toasted. It was difficult to eat as the slices were huge as you can see in my photo. The chicken sandwich was alright but the tuna melt was not good. I didn't like it at all. Also, the cutlery was dirty and my Partner's knife was damaged. Another customer also asked for a new knife. The cappuccino came with sugar but one of the was already ripped open ?! Does the staff not check what they serve to customers?? Very weird. We asked for a new one but overall it wasn't comfortable and overpriced. I don't recommend coming here.

STACH x The Social Hub Amsterdam City is a delightful fusion of convenience and quality, featuring a charming café that has quickly become a weekend staple for many. Known for its freshly baked goods, including the iconic Dutch stroopwafels, this spot offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxation or productivity. Visitors rave about the delicious carpaccio sandwich paired with expertly brewed coffee—both consistently satisfying.
STACH Café at The Social Hub Amsterdam East has become my go-to place every Sunday afternoon, and I honestly can’t imagine my weekend without it. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and just the right mix of cozy and vibrant. I always order the same thing – a coffee and the carpaccio sandwich – and it never disappoints. The sandwich is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together, and the coffee is always spot on. What really makes this place special is the staff. They’re consistently friendly, cheerful, and make you feel genuinely welcome. Even during busy hours, they take the time to smile and keep the vibe relaxed. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot to unwind, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a quality cup of coffee and great food, this place is a gem. Highly recommend it – especially on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

One of the worst cafes I've been to.... Last week I ordered a sandwich and paid for it, they ran out of the type of bread I asked for, which is fine. I asked them to cancel my order, and they said it is against their company policy to give refunds, and could only give me a voucher!!!They did not have what I ordered, but still they could not give a refund. Then today, I was waiting to order a snack, and other people started standing around me. I was ignored and the other people got helped. The service is just non existent.

Honestly, I crave the sandwiches from here all the time. Their pesto maya x roast chicken, as well as their tomato salsa x avocado (both on wheat bread) are fabulous. They have a moist pandan loaf, as well as a hearty banana bread. The staff at this location are always kind and friendly and put care into their work.

Love Stach. But the service at this one is just poor. I was next in line and it took me 20 minutes to get a coffee. And the staff are pretty moody on top of that.
Ferdinand G — Google review
Overpriced, they don’t clean your room, no check in personnel and long queues, hard to find your room (no indication), you can’t change the AC temperature, you can’t fully open the windows. Thank you for this memorable experience.
