A great food hall with tons of vendors and a huge variety of options! My partner and I split up to order, each finding something we loved quickly and managing to snag a table during a busy Thursday night. Great for meet ups and nights when you don’t want to cook in!

We went here on a Friday around 4pm and it wasn‘t too crowded. We walked around for a good ten minutes just enjoying the atmosphere and looking at all the different food options. I got a poke bowl with vegan salmon which tasted okay and was a little too small for my liking, but the real star of the show were my friend‘s fries which came at a great price and tasted amazing. The portion was huge too, so it was enough to share :) We also tried the cannolis and those were great too.

The food court was okay in the sense that there are many options to choose from. The deep fried fish was quite delicious but the calamari was not. Portion size was small. The lemonade we got from one of the bars there was very fresh and tasty.

So delicious and a great welcome scene for any traveller! All the food was the best I've had so far on my trip 😋 I got an Indian wrap €13 2x ciders €10 4x mini tartes from Petit gateau + 1 chocolate cookie - €20 The live music was great and chatting to locals was great too 👌🏽

It’s a cute place where you can find many food options. There are central counters where everyone orders what they want, and then you move to your table with self-service. It gets quite crowded on weekends, and there’s no reservation system.

A perfect spot for casual and fun dining. There’s a great variety of options, though I find the food a bit pricey for a “plaza” setting. As for the atmosphere, I would improve the quality of the chairs (they’re uncomfortable) and the acoustics, as it can get quite noisy.

Great place to eat and drink! So much choice and something for everyone. I had a beautiful salmon bowl from Padron and it was delicious. Excellent lively atmosphere. Highly recommend especially if everyone wants or likes different foods!

Looks like a local fast food chain, I’ve tried the cheese burger and a vanilla milkshake, they were ok. I’ve tired this beef kroketten, I didn’t like it much. Funny story, this big bird was standing in front of the door and just kept looking at the restaurant. I’ve asked the worker here and he said this bird comes here everyday for food.

Great concept, you just tap your card and press on a button to get the food you want. Just keep in mind that they only accept card. The food and prices are okay. Really messy store during the nights and it litters down the whole neighbourhood.

12 euro for a tiny burger and chips the chips were good but the burger bun was old and the patty was tiny no indoor seating and the outdoor seating is full of crows

The food was good, but they closed at 2 yet didn’t serve us before 2am. Did not even let us us sit inside!? Are we really that immigrantly

I tried both of their chicken and beef rolls with extra pickle and extra chilli. I can still feel the taste and I crave for those every day. I loved it. At peak time there is queue so you may need to wait but the wait was worth.

This place has great rating and reasonable pricing. We stopped by during the afternoon to check out the place. There were quite a few people in line and some of them were returning for the 2nd time as the food was so good. That sealed it for us, as we were searching for our dinner location for the day. We ordered the Aubergine and Labneh (vegetarian) and Lamb Tarator Manousheh’s both were awesome. Fresh made bread followed with fresh ingredients. Really worth the wait. Would definitely come back and highly recommend the place for good bight.

We were surprised by how tasty these were!!! There was so much flavor in both wraps. I had one with Chicken and Hummus and my husband had Beef and Labneh. Both of them were amazing but I think we both liked Beef & Labneh a bit more. The Labneh sauce was sooo creamy 🫶🏻 We will definitely come back to have this again and try other dishes too ☺️

I went today after looking for Lebanese food in Amsterdam and i also wanted something that is not heavy and would make me feel full at the same time and actually I was a little bit unsure how “lebanese” it would really taste like. I can easily say that it was perfect! The taste is so good the bread is fresh, the zaatar is so perfect with the Halumi i highly suggest! People there are nice too!

I have to round this one up to a 5. I got the lamb, but next time I would probably do the beef. I got the sourdough wrap and added pickles. The lamb for me was a 4, but I just chose wrong for me so I know I would have liked the beef. Too many nuts in the lamb for my taste. Location is very small, but not abnormal for Amsterdam.

I went to THE LEBANESE SATERIA and tried everything. For me, the best were the eggplant manakish with labneh and the spicy meat with labneh and the spicy cheese —they were absolutely amazing! The staff were extremely friendly, making you want to come back again and again.

We were the first customers and we came here to have lunch. At first we thought the food was cheap when we looked at the menu but when we got our sandwiches we realized the price was expensive 🥲 Even though the sandwiches were delicious, they didn’t fill us up at all. We definitely expected more. We had to go to another place to get something extra. They definitely could’ve used more staffs. It was a Saturday and there was only 1 staff, so it took quite long for us to have our order. We’re open to come back here to try their dinner menu though. We also liked the vibe and the decoration here.

I’ve been a regular here for almost 4 years (when I’m in the Netherlands, I always stay nearby on Nieuwmarkt), and they’ve always treated me very well – I especially love their live music and the nice vibe. But tonight, when I stepped in just to buy a beer and go outside immediately, a waitress (short, with black hair and quite unfriendly) stopped me, saying bicycles weren’t allowed inside. I explained it was a unicycle (quite small), that I’d only be a moment—just to order—and would immediately rejoin everyone outside (the bar was completely empty). I offered to leave it on the landing. She refused: “Those are the rules—not even on the landing.” I ended up leaving my unicycle unsecured outside. Three minutes after stepping out with my beer, the same waitress told me I was “too far from the bar” (I was at the sidewalk curb!). Then, about 10 minutes later (not even 00:30), she yelled at everyone: “TERRACE CLOSING! ALL DRINKS INSIDE!” When I said I thought they closed at 1:00, she snapped: “Now!” (My mistake—closing of terrace probably is at 00:30, but her manner was the issue). Frustrated, I gulped down my beer as fast as possible, not waiting for her next command. Tonight, this bar felt more like a courthouse or police station than the alternative, LGBT-friendly space I’d always considered it to be. What a pity! 😔🫤 P.S. I've never had any problems getting in with my unicycle (which takes up less space than a folded stroller).

Myself and my husband visited here after finding it in the happy cow app. We had the bread basket with houmous for the starter, then my husband had the skek burger and I had the jackfruit burger. Mine was out of this world, and my husband said the same. They have a small menu with a few vegan options, but what they have is great for bar food. The atmosphere was lovely, service was great, all round recommended.

My boyfriend and I have been here twice in our short stay in Amsterdam, each time we've been happy. Although their menu is short (varied toasted sandwiches and snacks) depending on the time of day, we really enjoyed the laidback atmosphere and relaxed staff. The prices are very fair for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. There are a few tables downstairs and a few tables outside. It seems to be student-run, and there is a 25% discount on food if you're a student.

Where to begin… Well, its a very, very nice and cozy place with friendly people and a superb team! Especially Camila is a very heartwarming and funny person and mainly responsibly for my 5* Rating. Altogether I highly recommend that beautiful location…

We went there really spontaneous for dinner and were happy that they still had a table for us. The restaurant is really cute and it has nice seating space outside (many people walk through it, a bit annoying). The menu offered many vegan options which was really nice! The ramen were okay but nothing special (the noodles were fine but the tofu didnt taste really fresh). All in all it was quiet okay and the prices were reasonable.

Small place for a quick ramen, there seems to be always queue but goes quite fast. Plenty of vegan option, gyoza were great! Ramen was tasty, will go again to try the non spicy version

The vegetarian ramen was very tasty, though not the best I've tried in Amsterdam. Price-wise I was happy to see that there are more affordable options in the menu. The service was lovely, no comment on that. Overall certainly recommend coming here if you're in the area craving good ramen.

It’s nothing super special, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to my friends and definitely not wait hours in a que for it. The ramen, chicken, and broth were good, but I felt like the toppings were quite blank. It could’ve used some spring onion or some more veggies in general. I really enjoyed the side dish miso glazed eggplant though, however for 8,50 the portion was super small. The girl serving us was not smiling or friendly. Just did her job. So yeah, if you really want a quick and easy ramen it’s allright, but don’t expect fireworks ;)

Delicious ramen, quick and friendly service. Good for 1-2 maybe 4 people but no more. Located on a busy corner, easy to get to from public transport. Open kitchen concept, €18 for the large ramen.

My friends and I were making our way to another ramen place (but realized it was closed that day) when we stumbled upon this gem. We were a table of three—two of which are vegetarian. They had great vegan/vegetarian options. Will order the lemon ginger ramen next time. 5 stars!

Spang Makandra is an absolute treasure in the heart of Amsterdam! I had never even heard of Surinamese cuisine before – but it turned out to be an absolute dream. The food was simply outstanding – full of flavor, fresh, and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before (see my photos). Every bite felt like a new culinary discovery, and the quality and price are truly excellent. What makes this place even more special is its story and atmosphere. Since 1978, Spang Makandra has been bringing people together through the rich and diverse Surinamese cuisine, blending flavors from Indigenous, Creole, Indian, Javanese, Chinese, and European traditions. You can really feel that sense of connection and hospitality the moment you sit down. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming – their energy adds so much to the experience (just look at their smiles in my pictures). Eating here felt like being part of something bigger: not just a meal, but a celebration of cultures coming together. Honestly, I wish we had a restaurant like this back in Austria – it would instantly be one of my favorites. If you’re in Amsterdam, don’t miss this place. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere and vibes. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We had the chicken satay and Spang Makandra special. Both dishes were really good. Peanuts were not as finely chopped but the texture was actually okay. The ginger and passionfruit juices were delicious. Servings were decent. All in all, great value for money. Lots of tables to accommodate groups of all sizes. We came during lunch without a reservation and did not have to wait long to be seated. We would happily eat here again and recommend this to others.

I had dinner reservations at Warung Spang Makandra in a Friday night for 7:30 PM and the restaurant was incredibly busy and crowded. After we checked in, I think we wait about 10 minutes before being seated. Bakabana (fried plantain) - I loved plantains and peanuts so a fried plantain with a savory peanut sauce was right up my alley and it was delicious. The plantain was crispy on the outside but soft in the inside. One thing to note is that one order is an entire plantain so just something to keep in mind. Teloah (fried cassava with salt cod) - this was also delicious. It's like a French fry but different. We got it with the salt cod but I ended up dipping it in the peanut sauce from the fried plantain Spang Makandra Special (fried rice - noodles, chicken filet, chickens satay, long beans, egg, potato sambal and perkedel (fried potato)) - a really good entree for someone who wants to try a little bit of everything. The chicken satay was great Mixed Meat (chicken & lamb) Roti - this entree was huge and full of meat. You can pick which cuts of meat you want (ex. chicken filet vs chicken on the bone). Lots of different things to try with the curry and roti. Very delicious and filling A really fun and new experience with Suriname food. Definitely recommend trying if you haven't had this cuisine before.

Really delicious food with generous portions and decent prices. A dish and a glass of wine came to around €20 per person which is reasonable in central Amsterdam. It is worth noting how busy it can get so it is worth making a reservation.

I would have given 5, but the fact that they do not give tap water only to charge people an extra 3 euros for bottled water is unaccaptable and very unsustainable as well. Water is a human right. How can you say you do not have tap water when someone is asking for water? You do have a tap and it has water running. Everything is great other than that but i am not okay with this nonsense policy. The staff at the welcome desk was the kindest person with a sense of humor.

The food is really really good 10/10. Flavour is there, portion sizes are good. I see why Anthony Bourdain talked about this place so highly. The waiter was another story. Wearing all black with a black cap. As I do get it was lunch rush and really busy but he was really condescending and rude when I would ask questions. Plus gave me no time to check the menu when I sat down so I asked for more time and he came back an hour later even after calling him multiple times. Definitely wanted to rush me out of there as a solo diner. All the other staff there were there were amazing and kind and accommodating just not him lol.

I went here on a Friday night having booked in advance. The place is very popular, and booking is advised. Food was delicious and I definitely ordered too much. But I was by myself and wanted to try many things. I had the chicken satay, the plantain, the yuca fries and the mixed roti main. First 2 were my favourite and the bill came up to €35. Now for the part I didn't enjoy. Staff didn't seem to care at all. Maybe part of it was how popular the restaurant is. But it took 5 minutes to be seated even with a booking, 5 minutes to realise I don't have a menu, 10 more minutes for someone to take my order and I tried the whole time to order a beer but that never materialised. When I finally got someone's attention to order a drink they said a colleague will take my order which didn't happen. I am a bit disappointed by this since everything else was good.

Food is really delicious! however portion is very small. Me and my friend were still quite hungry after finishing our plates. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Staff is very friendly.

Some of the best pasta I have ever enjoyed. We arrived around 8pm on a Sunday and got a table for 2 within minutes of arriving - and it was very busy. We had wine recommendations and the waiter read the entire menu to us in English which was tremendous. Lovely experience, great atmosphere.

The place it's really nice, good atmosphere, a little bit crowded, but I believe that a restaurant with good food will always be full of clients enjoying their food. The staff was friendly, they recommended me a good dry white wine for my spaghetti. You will find only 4 or 5 types of pasta and 1 desert. I ordered the spaghetti with sea fruits. They were so good, tasty and so well done. For sure I will get back to this place, it was a pleasure to enjoy a dinner here.

Love this place. Delicious pasta with seasonal options, one of the best tiramisu I’ve ever tried in my life. Also drink selection is impressive. The only thing I don’t like is that you want to order more to try but can’t stop and end up really full 😂 So be careful with that because portions are really big

If you are looking for some food that packs a punch try this place out. Right off Rembrandtplein (great area for nightlife) the food was quick and the premise clean. You get to choose your base rice/noodles etc, protein/veg of choice, sauce & topping and they do a quick stir fry for you at your spice level preference 👍👍 great stuff! Open late

I know the customer is not always right, but we had a bad experience where we were double charged for some parts of our selection. Instead of admitting the mistake and being refunded we were told that there were double prawns etc in our food. The food was actually ok (I know this is hard to get wrong), and filled a late afternoon sized snack hole. But poor service always leaves a bad taste!

Like other people mentioned, large portions. I got the vegetable base with beef and shiitake mushroom add ons. Solid take-out food and they stir-fry it on the wok in front of you! Friendly staff who like to joke around, seem pretty happy, good vibes.

This place is pretty awesome for a quick hot noodle dish. You can put things together how you like and most of the combinations are under 10 Eur. It is quick even though it’s super busy, but unfortunately it’s super tiny. So better take the wok to walk #nojoke

Cozy place, but average food. They have a nice concept of paying for 2,3 or 4 dishes and choosing anything from the menu. Good opportunity to try various things from the menu. Portions aren’t big, which explains lower prices. I think it’s still a good value for your money. But food isn’t outstanding- in the end, it’s a simple brunch place, no stylish- fancy- servings. Their sandwiches look just like… sandwiches :)

Went there for breakfast and needed some gluten-free options too, and found exactly that. Small but tasty menu, arranged neatly on our plates, friendly staff too. Would come again (if I'm ever in the area).

I loved having breakfast here. The place is very cosy and the staff is wonderful. Everyone was smiling and cheerful, which made my lazy and sleepy morning a lot better. There was a cat sleeping on one of the seats 😍 the food was delicious made with fresh ingredients. I was there on a Monday morning and most tables were taken, which only shows that it's a place serving good food and popular regardless of the time and day of the week.

What a fun place for brunch / lunch! The concept really is picnic-like: You order 2, 3, or 4 items from a good-sized list of sandwiches, soups, salads, and hot dishes such as quiche, and the staff brings out a single plate with all your small portions. Everything we had was delicious, but my favorite was probably the quiche. Dessert was also tasty. Of course, this is all enhanced by the presence of Pedro the cat, who visits from a nearby establishment. We were lucky enough to be seated next to Pedro's blanket, which meant we got to enjoy petting him and just being in his presence! Reservations recommended for weekends.

They offer wood-oven Italian pizza that was very delicious and flavorful. The kitchen is across from the restaurant and also handles takeout orders. Since the restaurant was fully booked, we ordered from the kitchen side. Fortunately, they had a beautiful table where we could enjoy our pizza fresh out of the oven! The staff were very friendly, and we truly enjoyed the experience

Highly recommend this lovely cozy restaurant! Went there on a Sunday around 15:30, no reservation was needed. We had the salad verde which needed no oil or vinegar. It was super fresh and felt like biting into a cloud! Then we got a Margherita and Puttanesca, both excellent. The mozzarella was so fresh and smooth, and the sauce was a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. We got a karaf of red wine which was amazing and the waiter was super friendly and welcoming. 10/10 experience, definitely revisiting<3 Thank you La Perla

It's a pizzeria a bit above average for Amsterdam. The prices are also a bit higher. It's comprised of two shops facing each other: a bakery on one side and a restaurant on the other. The pizzas are for one and a half people, but if you're not too hungry, they'll serve two.

Great pizzas! Atmosphere was on point, good relaxing music to set the mood, the pizzas had a great under carriage with a thin but very tasty crust. Not too much and not too little toppings aswell, just perfect. Customer service was also pretty good. Would recommend

I went to this place following ChatGPT advice while in Amsterdam and it didn’t disappoint. The pizza and tiramisu both hit the spot and were super delicious. The pizza crust and flavor were delish! Highly recommended when visiting Amsterdam and it’s located in a super cozy, beautiful, and not so touristic neighborhood.

It's a cosy place, but it's very tiny, which makes it a bit awkward, because it's hard to fit at the tables, you have to keep an eye on someone passing by. While we were there, at least 50 people were turned away because they couldn't sit down because the place was full. We waited a very long time for our food, it took 1 hour from ordering to getting it, one portion was already cold, the other was warm because I asked for melted cheese on top. Otherwise it was delicious. But the service staff is impeccable, the guy who is there is really good, he was nice to everyone, smiled, friendly service, so hats off to him!

It is what it says on the tin.. A jacket potato! Great filling meal. I had the stew on a full jacket and it filled the hunger after walking round. Small quaint place, slow service to begin with but there was only 2 members of staff here at the lunchtime service. Whilst the food was lovely, not sure if €40 for 2 potatos and 2 drinks is a bit much.

Enormous potato! So delicious! I think this may be the best potato dish I have ever eaten. Menu allows you to choose your own favourite set of fillings, toppings and sauces. There are meat, fish and vegetarian options. Few tables are outside near the canal so you have a beautiful view if you sit there. Inside you can also found safe lockers where you can charge your phone! Nicely done. I honestly can recommend this place. I will come back there if I have a chance!

These jacket potatoes were divine. I highly recommend the chili con carne filling, it was absolutely delicious. The portions are quite big and the staff is very helpful.

Incredibly tasty potatoes at a nice price. The portions are large. The restaurant seems small, but there are still places below and on the street. In the evening, the cafe hype. Very busy. Most likely this is due to the very close location to the central station and affordable price. The potato is very large, the dishes are decorated beautifully, seasoned with grass and cheese. There are different variations. You can collect the ingredients yourself, but you can choose a ready-made combination with meat, fish or vegetables. Light beer is tasty and at a price like everywhere else 5 euros. On average, for two you can meet 20 euros without algokogol. We have very sensitive stomachs and this restaurant has shown high quality food. Friendly staff are also here. Of the minuses - sticky tables, I do not know why. Clean but sticky. If the weather is nice, then it’s better to sit outside, here the tables are good. The toilets are very clean. I will be back here every time I am in Amsterdam. thank

The good is just wow, the best potato I’ve ever had. Well recommended. One thing to point out - is service, the staff didn’t care much about us, they were passing by us several times with no attention to our side, I was quite upset, to order the food we needed to go to the cash to approach staff to take our order. But we were happy with the food in the end. The prices are reasonable.

A very awesome restaurant! I was recommended this place and am so very glad I came here. The interior is quite nice and comfy and very clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and great with quick service. The portions are very generous and the quality is top notch. Some may see it a little more pricey for their taste but the service and quality and portions more than deserve the price. It was a real treat to visit here with friends and I guarantee I will visit here every time I visit this wonderful City.

They were busy but you can tell they cater to the bigger parties. The food was great when grandma is in the kitchen but I reordered a chicken satay and the second time it tasted nothing like the first & that’s because grandma was taking a lunch break right next to my table. Make sure grandma is cooking for the most flavorful Thai food ever. Highly recommend dipping the spare ribs in the peanut sauce- next level flavor

This little gem is a winner when it comes to decent food. The food was pretty decent and the price was even better for somewhere in central Amsterdam. Just a short walk from the bulldog coffee shop is is on a busy walking route. We went when it was as 29c outside, there was 2 of us and they sat us next to another couple in what can be described as the worlds smallest restaurant It was a sweat box. Managing to then get a space on the bench outside and it so much better. Had the Tom Yum and it was pretty decent. Not the best I’ve had but very close Also we had the Massaman curry and it was really good. We shared on dish between 2 and it was just enough Would go back there. Staff were good. Only one nice guy the folk in the kitchen were having a bad day and were a bit rude.

The Thai street food tastes just like eating in Thailand. The chef and service staff are Thai. I recommend the stir-fried beef with basil. The basil flavor is hot and spicy.I love it ❤️😊.I will definitely go back.

There are several waiters and they don't pay attention to the customers. I don't recommend it, it was just horrible, they could see that my friend was having lunch but at no time did they come to ask me and the other customers were served as they went along. In addition they are not accommodating in the food we asked for a dish without meat and the dish of my friend arrived with sickening pieces of meat . 🤮 Besides I never got my ordered dish.

I had dinner here and it was a mixed experience. I ordered the Tom Yam Koeng and the Kou Pad "BIRD" Luom Mid. The Kou Pad was excellent - a flavorful and well-executed dish that we really enjoyed. However, the Tom Yam Koeng was a bit of a letdown. It didn't taste like the traditional Tom Yam I had in Thailand, perhaps it's a Dutch adaptation of the dish. ​The restaurant itself is very small, and it was quite hot inside, which made the dining experience a bit uncomfortable. We are real Nandosians and tried our best to find something like Nando’s in Amsterdam. However, the experience exceeded our expectations! Half chicken with butter lemon sauce was mesmerizing! Their rice and chips were also very nice + the girl serving us was also a very nice person!

The crust, the filling, everything was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Yes, there’s a long line, but they run the place like a well-oiled machine. The line moves quickly, the pies are constantly coming out fresh, and the drinks are made in no time. If you get lucky and snag a seat outside, you can enjoy your dessert while people watching. Inside seating is nice too, especially by the window, though the space itself isn’t particularly special. Still, it’s a must-try spot in Amsterdam. Definitely worth the stop for a slice of their iconic apple pie.

Tried the famous apple pie at Winkel 43 in Amsterdam — absolutely loved it! You get a big, warm, fresh, and delicious slice. I had mine with whipped cream and a hot chocolate, which cost me €10 in total. There were about 30 people in line when I joined around 5 PM on a Saturday, but the service was super efficient and the queue moved quickly.

Very busy place - not a bad thing just something to note. I found the cafe too dark for my preference and I couldn’t see the food I was eating which is pretty important to me for the full experience. I know this doesn’t matter to some so personal preference. The apple pie was okay. Definitely tastes home made which is good, and had a very crunchy crust which I like. It was room temperature which, didn’t taste fresh out of the oven. I like mine to be at least warm. It did come extremely fast though, I imagine they just have the pies on plates ready to go. It’s also not too sweet. But I wouldn’t say it’s the best or anything. Just good, not great, in my opinion. I’ve had ones I enjoy more. The bitterballen on the other hand was really good. Best I’ve had so far. They were piping hot and tasted fresh. They pair really well with the mustard sauce provided.

Moeders is a very famous restaurant in Amsterdam — it’s one of the go-to spots for traditional Dutch food. If you want to experience authentic Dutch home-style dishes, this is definitely the place to try. Be sure to make a reservation, as it’s popular with both locals and tourists and fills up quickly. We tried the pea soup, ribs, and beef stew — all were decent. The white asparagus soup, however, had a sour asparagus flavor that I couldn’t quite figure out. Overall, Moeders serves comforting, home-style food rather than refined Western cuisine, so if you’re looking for something fancy, this might not be it. The dishes and bowls also look quite well-used — you can really feel the restaurant’s history 😂.

I actually don’t know how to rate it, I know it’s more traditional Dutch food, which means I should know what I’m getting. But still, I have to say the quality of the dishes are not the best. The “lobster” soup was very very salty (I use “” because it’s shrimp). And the vegetarian Stampot was alright, but it’s nearly first time for me to not to finish my plate, not because of the portion, just pretty… boring. Anyway, we were there to see the interior and just to experience, so I guess food is less the point. Right, the slot for reservation is 1.5h, but because the main course was served very late, we didn’t have time for desert.

Service was incredibly great, people are really friendly, pleasantries and jokes were exchanged between us and the staff. Food was amazing too, highly recommended the lobster soup and bitterballen!!! We also ordered the Rijstafel but given that my friend and I were both not big eaters, we couldn’t finish it at all. Love the meat stew in the Rijstafel set and also the grilled potatoes were yummy. Great eggs restaurant with a lot of variety. We ordered the greek wedding and it was fine and the salmon deluxe and it was delicious and the baked potatoes which was a bit tasteless. The service was quick and the line outside was packed but only took us 20 mins to get a table. The atmosphere is like your typical morning breakfast restaurants where it is fast paced and seated in tiny tables that are right next to each other where you can hear the fun conversations people are having.

Came here on my birthday for breakfast and found the experience to be decent, though I thought the food was overpriced, and in my opinion, undercooked. The inside of the omelette, when cut open, was incredibly runny. I’ve seen French and Japanese style omelettes cooked this way, but honestly it gave me such a bad stomach ache and texture-wise really put me off. I wish they gave you an option for how cooked you want the eggs. I had the Popeye with jalapeños. Service was good and quick. Highlight of the meal was definitely the bread on the side - softest bread I’ve had in my 5 years living in Amsterdam!! The servers wouldn’t tell me where they bought it from though - trade secrets I suppose. Bread and team were great, eggs less so.

I love the experience of getting fries from a little kiosk around a corner. It just feels so fun so local! Our only regret was not getting a large fry. The pizza here is good but it is way too expensive. Me and my girlfriend came here just for a quick little snack. So we both ordered one slice and a coke. This cost us 20 euros which is a ridiculous price (see picture to see how big 2 slices put together are), although the pizza did definitely taste very good! I do have to say that both the atmosphere and service were a bit lacking, the place felt a little dead. Trying this place out was definitely worth it but I would only recommend people to check it out if they are not on a budget.

Good Asian Restaurant in Amsterdam. Really enjoyed the bao buns. The staff was quick, attentive and friendly. Besides the bao buns and the dumplings (dim sum) we also had some red curry, spring rolls and the pad thai. The pad thai was my least favourite but still good. Overall a great place. Worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam. They also have other locations in the city.

A mix of dishes from Asian countries. Best dim sum I've had in amsterdam. The crispy shrimp balls were amazing, so were the steamed scallop dumplings. If you've got room go for a dessert you won't be disappointed.

Insanely good food. Beyond expectations. Service was fine, not great. Interior is a bit cheap, however it fits the vibe. Prices are a little pricey, but worth the taste.

I ordered The Real Bite, it tasted decent, they did however forget the lettuce. The bacon tasted quite good. The fries are crispy. They do sometimes forget something.

The smash from hell burger was very tasty. The cheese was nicely melted and there was the perfect amount of sauce. It was a little expensive for a burger without fries or salad but it's a good option if you're in the city.

Kind of a small place, but what the it might lack in size it more than makes up for in flavour. The burgers are juicy and delightful. One could get lost in their voluptuous layers, and the service is just as warm and inviting as the food itself.

Small place full of simple and fulfilling dishes! A great part of the menu serves different types of dutch sandwiches (I ordered the homemade hummus, it was really really nice). Nice option around the area, the decoration is very interesting. It seems like a great place to chat and feel present (without the need of a cellphone)! Almost everything tries to be organic and a lot of the menu is also homemade!

A cosy cafe, recommended to us by a staff from Rembrandt Museum. We enjoyed the quiche and tomato soup. The apple tart was also yummy. Service was friendly. Recommend!

I love this place so much, we went three times in our visit to Amsterdam because we coudn't have enough. I can't say enough good about this place! I ate there 2 or 3 times while in Amsterdam and everything is fresh. One the way in each morning they pick up their bread for the day fresh from a local bakery. They will even fresh squeeze a combination of quite a few fruits and veggies into a juice for you. It's a must visit if you are ever in Amsterdam!

Went there for breakfast and fell in love. The ambience was unbelievable. It’s such a cute cafe. I ate fried eggs served with hartog bread with salami. It was pretty good. I also drank basil-lime lemonade. It was probably one of the best drinks I’ve ever tasted. If I ever come to Amsterdam again, I will definitely go to this cafe.

They have tasty vegan options. Plus, they offer Italian soft drinks like Italian cola and ltalian beers and prosecco, which adds authentic touch to the meal. The interior is beautifully designed and they even have a dedicated takeaway counter so you don’t have to wait long if you’re in a hurry. After a long and unexpected trip to Maastricht, the wife and I were tired and just looking for some comfort food. We found this unassuming place close by and had the most romantic evening ever. The food is way too good for the price, the staff is very nice and the lighting and atmosphere made me us feel like we’re on our first date again. Definitely recommend the house made tiramisu!

Absolutely loved my visit to De Pizzabakkers! The pizza was fantastic – thin, crispy crust with fresh, high-quality toppings that made every bite delicious. I also tried the Aperol Spritz, and it was perfect: light, refreshing, and just the right balance. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a great meal.

Very cozy little pizza restaurant. The atmosphere is nice. They have Italian style pizzas, and some special Italian starters. I really liked the eggplant-cheese-mousaka-like starter (I cannot remember the name sorry!). We had the pizza with mushroom and bacon. There was not so much topping, but even the pizza crust was tasty!

We loved this bakery, despite it being a chain. Small, quaint, neighborhood cafe. The bagels (salmon & cream cheese and a pesto tomato avocado) were delicious and the coffee was great as well (cappuccino). We ate outside along the canal. A very pleasant breakfast experience.

Perfect location with seating next to the canal. I don’t know did the servers forgot that they have tables outside also or what, but we and some other clients waited up to 20 minutes to order. Outside tables were filthy and they didn’t clean them, even though they saw it. Food took around 20 minutes to arrive. Coffees were cold as they brought them. Bagels were good, but with overall experience not worth it.

Really small place with too many tables. It is difficult to move around easily with coats or backpack. However, the personnel is really professional and my orders are delivered in short period of time. The variety of coffee and tea is really rich. The bagels were delicious.

What a gem! The chicken is lovely, we went for Korean chicken and it was delicious, Tender and crispy, the servers were really helpful in helping you to decide what to have or making it slightly different for you! Would 100% reccomend a stop here at the market and the market in general as plenty of hidden gems like this one!

I don’t usually write reviews, but this chicken—omg, I was talking about it all day! The best thing my partner and I ate in Amsterdam. We tried the Spicy Korean Sandwich (1000/10) and the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl (10/10). Definitely a meal worth spending money on.

During my vacation in Amsterdam, I visited several restaurants based on Instagram recommendations. And if I had to choose one that was really worth driving all the way across town, it would be this one. The Korean chicken bowl is perfection. The rice is so good you can eat it on its own, the chicken is perfectly cooked, and the sauces are impeccable.

Definitely not the “best chicken in Amsterdam” as they brand themselves, but not bad at all. Price portion ratio was reasonable and the staff were friendly. Would be great if they can pay more attention to hygiene too.

Everything here is incredibly fresh and the falafel are made to order. The owner makes a variety of different salads and toppings that you are free to add to your pita afterwards. I ended up visiting this place twice. It's usually hard to find healthy food while traveling but this place is a hidden gem in Amsterdam..

For 7.5£ you can really make it worth it ! The mushroom was freshly cooled and added to the bread. Then you can add most of the toppings you want without charge. And then sauces!! This was delicious and had so much flavor I would definitely eat this again

As someone from a Trinidadian family, I have to say that the curry chicken roti roll was quite good. So good in fact, that I had to go twice. It could do without the pickles, but it was easy enough to ask for them removed. Portion size was decent as well, a little more filling would have been appreciated, but it's enough food to leave you satisfied. The service was friendly and we understood each other well enough despite my subpar Dutch and their limited English. The restaurant itself isn't too special, but the food is good and I definitely recommend it as a take out option for anyone staying in the area.

We came to order some pick out. We got the lamb sandwich, fried rice with 3 meats. We asked them to give us 3 of their most popular meats. One of them was really spicy. Some of the meats were a little dry. But strangely addictive. If you are craving Asian food, this is a cheap option. The lamb sandwich was nice and hot. Everything was a little on the saltier side but overall not bad. The sauce goes really well with the rice. The portions are not bad also.

A little hidden gem inside the Metro Station. The portion is huge and the food is great, a nice surprise to see in Amsterdam where eneryhting is overpriced. If you're not sure what to order just ask the staff, they'll help you to narrow it down.

A staple in the Waterlooplein metro station, I always see a fair amount of people in this restaurant. Finally I was able to try it. We got our food for takeaway. We ordered a Chicken Curry Sandwich (chicken in curry sauce) and a Lamb Roti Roll (Lamb in Curry sauce with long beans and potatoes). These were served with a side of cucumbers and sambal. Overall solid place especially for takeaway and lots of value for the price.

Absolutely stellar place. Recommend trying the large fries with truffle sauce and Parmesan. The sauce and Parmesan the guys give is GENEROUS and delicious!!! When the guy was grating fresh Parmesan onto my fries, I thought he would just grate a couple of times but he just kept going and going lol. Left with a very satisfied stomach 😋

Pretty much the best fries in Zuid. The lines are usually very long in the evenings but it's worth it. The fries are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Portions are generous and it's a good value meal. Would recommend visiting if in the neighborhood but as a tourists I would go to Vleminx.

This was the first food item we tried when we landed in Amsterdam in a rainy day. N boy it did not disappoint! This is hands down the best fries in Amsterdam we tried ( oh yes - Manekkinpiss is not even close) These are nice crispy thick fries. Don’t be fooled by the size of the place - it’s a must try. We had to come back for seconds. Tried the croquette as well. Loved the fried snack as well.

Best neighborhood spot to pop in and grab some warm Friets (Maybe the best) The portions could be a bit more generous, only because everything so tasty. Be Aware: Normally a place to set outside but No inside setting or WC. Really best for takeaway. Enjoy

I was soooo looking forward to dining here as I love the branches in LDN however I was left disappointed; I didn’t even finish my food. The pasta was stogy - like the pasta was OVERcooked. The garlic bread was delicious. The espresso martini was a great fix. Just shame about the pasta (I imagined to eat out the prawns and chicken from my bowl :) ) there wasn’t any service as everything was ordered via QR code. Hopefully I caught them on a bad day and this isnt a regular occurrence.

Unfortunately the pasta does not taste the same as it used to. They’re very greedy with the sauces and spices. It’s the second time this happened to me which is unfortunate because I used to looove the Vapiano pasta’s. Will not come again

Stopped here for some lunch whilst exploring the streets of Amsterdam. There was only 1 waitress it appeared working an entire floor of what was slowly getting busier with customers. Placed our order via the QR code and drinks arrived shiftly, shortly followed by the food, but no starters. The pastas are a large portion, however the carbonara is the second worst carbonara I’ve ever eaten. Does not taste anything like a carbonara. Overhead the waitress say to a couple “we are an inspired Italian, not authentic”. Arrabbiata was stodgy, felt the pasta had been sat on the stove for too long. Eventually, when the meals were practically finished, our “starter” arrived, to which the waitress stated “i guess it’s more an after than a starter”. However, shame, as it was delicious the garlic bread. Staff were friendly, no complaints of their friendliness, just slow service which is to be expected when it’s a one man show. Very nice inside, cool vibe and calm atmosphere. But unfortunately, wouldn’t recommend. Luckily pricing wasn’t too bad.

Good restaurant and nice environment in general. The pizza was tasty but a little bit burned at the edges. Also, something that I didn't like was a heavy noise from a machine that was lasting for 3-4 minutes and was annoying. Our table was close to the kitchen, so I would recommend to choose a table away from there. The service was friendly and quite helpful.

UPDATED 20230910 This time the service was really terrible. I had to wait an whole hour for my take away pasta's while its was already made after 20 min. Just to figure out that they put it in the heating fridge the whole time. No one even bothered to check the order after even asking twice about it. I can’t eat dairy and I was surprised and pleased to have so many vegan choices. The chocolate was so rich and delicious. The passion fruit was perfect, blood orange was really delicious as well. Took me right back to Italy. Highly recommend!

Great Place to have a drink or something to eat ! The food was delicious, the atmosphere great. The DJ really played a nice set of songs and the waiters were so kind ! Price is around 20 per person including beverage. The theme of the restaurant is drag queens, and the decoration is eclectic, with walls full of skulls and glitter. There is a cat hanging around the tables.

Great place, very nice staff, loads of nice people. Burgers are named after mostly dutch famous drag queens. The food (not exclusively burgers) is extremely tasty. Amazing cocktails as well. Beautifully​ accepting and open atmosphere. On the night I was here there was no drag performance, but they have them! Amazing place.

Extremely knowledgeable on all the different cheeses they serve. Willing to accommodate custom cuts. I spent around 108e to bring back to America. I thought my cheese had mold because the vacuum seal was on top of plastic film and it made part of the cheese look purple. I emailed for customer service and was quickly responded to. Not only, was it no issue at all and a huge mistake, but they responded professionally and swift. Joost and Darien were extremely helpful and I would definitely recommend this place.

Great variety of cheeses and a better stop over the other commercialized shops. The staff were very helpful and patient with us. I had heard they will make you a sandwich with fresh bread, sliced cheese of your choice and selected veggies. The woman who helped my husband and I was so great! Would highly recommend going out of your way to get your cheese here!

A cheese shop... are we in France? but honestly very nice store layout, good variety of staff and moderately helpful staff. Worth stopping and taking a look at the different options if you are in the area, and are considering buying some cheese.

It's the restaurant on the last floor of the Public Library. It's not really on a rooftop, and there's not really so much of a good view except if you sit right by the window. Nonetheless, it has a nice buffet with a good variety of fresh food and drinks

Very convenient for parents with young kids visiting the library. There are plenty of high chairs and a toilet with a baby change near the cafe. I came with a pram and one of the staff helped me take my tray to my table so I could wheel the pram over and grab a high chair. Quite cost effective too - €5.50 for a fresh Woodfired pizza big enough to feed 1 adult and 1-2 children.

On top of the Library of Amsterdam (oba) it offers a nice view over the city. The food is always of good quality, but its not the cheapest. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy a meal. Free wifi included.

Just another restaurant which belongs to the La place restaurant chain. It is on the top level of the public library and offers a great view of the Amsterdam skyline. Although the rooftop is closed from November until March.

Excellent vegan place. it is a nonprofit run by volunteers. We went on a night when for 5 euro you get 3 course set menu. It might always be this way. We had red lentil soup, followed by rice noodles with spinach, tofu, broccoli and peanut sauce. Very good. Dessert was chocolate dipped fruits. Excellent concept where they serve at kitchen and you go get food. Excellent price/quality ratio. Free water. Beer or wine is only 2-3 euros. Some people may have been going back for second plates for no extra charge.

Top vegan place, love it. Hard to reserve, but try, opens only on the weekends (check their agenda) very casual and different from a classic restaurant, the MKZ dinners are prepared by collectives. And always, always amazing. Beer selection is good, wines not really. ;)

On Wednesdays and Fridays they offer a vegan dinner. For 5€ you get the whole menu (starter, main dish, dessert). You can have more bread if you need it of course :). You have to wash your dishes after you're done. And that's it. The place is lovely, people are the best, and they have a good selection of drinks also.

Really kind, friendly left wing place. Beautiful space. V nice prices. (If you want food, make sure you’ve put your name down on the list in advance. Food happens in the evening around 7pm and they cook based on how many people are on the list.) Happy this place exists.

Stood in queue for 20minutes in 30degrees just for the working lady (Ingrid) to tell her friend who clearly came after us to come to the side window and serve her while I was waiting like a fool Nice whataboutism. The problem isnt wait time, waiting 1hour for good fish is fine the problem is skipping the queue is endorsed while waiting customers are made fun of.
