Great place to stop in and grab a pint, have food and watch a match. Many tvs, great selection of beverages and excellent Irish basics. Staff is friendly and efficient. Treat you like a regular and make you feel at home.

We love O’Reilly’s. Atmosphere and food are top. I always get the buffalo chicken wings. But you should know there are no actual wings, just drumsticks. I don’t mind because it’s so hard to find proper buffalo sauce in Amsterdam.

So amazing that we came back 3 nights in a row! Really hard to find affordable places in Amsterdam (for Australians with a bad exchange rate), that also offer incredible atmosphere. This place does both! Staff are lovely and the food is incredible for the price. Large range of options for both food and drink. Background music was always incredible, staff have great taste in music! We will be back when we are next in Amsterdam!

Walking distance of central station and the pub itself with great collection of beer!! Best option to watch football or rugby Large amount of tv with sound system is like almost as if you are in the stadium!! Very good food! If you once want chicken then order The Buffalo Chivken Wings! It is a pleasure! Nice good friendly service! Exquisite atmosphere! Nothing less then a 10/10 pub!

First time ever in Amsterdam travelling from Newcastle, UK to meet up with a friend of mine. We were looking for someone to watch the football and found O’Reillys Irish Pub. From the first moment we stepped, it felt a proper Irish pub with loads of TV screen to watch the football (and any other sport on). Guinness was smooth and lovely especially on a rainy day along with the freshness of Hertog Jan. Don’t get me started on the food!! WOW! The buffalo chicken wings were UNBELIEVABLE! The nachos were a stuff of dreams as well as the loaded fries. The staff were beyond welcoming and friendly and polite enough to have the occasional chit-chat. The atmosphere was a delight meeting people from all over the world and sharing countless stories and creating memories and potentially friendships to last a lifetime. I’m making it a ritual that every time I come to the Netherlands and or Amsterdam to go back to O’Reilly’s

Very friendly staff, fun decor, and a good pint in Amsterdam. Next time I am here I'll try the food but the service for Guinness was very fast. It is in a very pretty canal area and very close to central station and the docks.

We loved this quaint Irish Pub. The service was fast and friendly. The food was great. The owner even brought us out some pasta she had made for her employees, that was off menu, and it was delicious. Probably the cheapest night out we had in Amsterdam.

Our go to place whenever we want Guinness! Its an old charm Irish Pub with some great ambience. Their service chips are pne of the best in town. They are so well seasoned and their quantity is really worth the price. Their service is awesome as well! They have some live bands some evenings and it has an awesome vibe!!

A lovely wee Irish Pub we found on our wanders around Amsterdam. So we had to stop for a drink. We sat outside, beside the canal and watched the world go by. My daughter loved all the different selections of whisky. So had a dram of Irish whisky. Thank you for your recommendation. Hope to visit again!

I’d highly recommend this pub. Perfect central location. Pub’s size is good, it fits many customers. I didn’t like how dark it is inside, but this is subjective. The rugby, football, cricket and sports scarfs as well as the rest of the decorations are a positive plus. Huge plus for the large variety of whiskeys in the drinks menu. As for the food subjectively I only tried Dutch cheese snacks. It was 10/10 pub side snack. Didn’t need to try anything else due to how yummy it was. Another plus for the Guiness and local Dutch beers on the tap. I need to give the minus though for the glasses they serve whiskeys in. Maybe I’m unaware of the pub etiquette, but they have those dedicated whiskey glasses and for some reason they still serve drinks in the high glass. C’mon I drink compote in high glass, not whiskey and coke.

I recently visited this place, had the pleasure of receiving service here and was thoroughly impressed. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, professional, and exceeded expectations. The standout was Dominic – his knowledge, patience, and friendly attitude made all the difference. He took the time to explain every detail, answered all my questions clearly, and ensured everything was taken care of efficiently. I highly recommend it and definitely ask for Dominic. His attention to detail and genuine care for customer satisfaction are rare to find. Five stars all the way!

I came to Amsterdam on a rainy day and was welcomed by the person behind the bar from Belfast called Beth. She was wonderful and welcoming and very chatty and was a fountain of knowledge on everything to do with Irish history and whiskey. I would definitely come here again if only to hear some history from Beth and her endless knowledge on Irish alcohol.

Since new owners not the real thing for me anymore. Bartenders be careful for your clients! Serve your Guinness better than expected! A shamrock is not an effort but a special bonus etc.

If you want live Irish music in the heart of Amsterdam's waterfront, then you have to go to Mulligan's. Good beer on tap, and a group of musicians playing authentic tunes on a variety of instruments make for the perfect atmosphere. Don't be surprised when the crowd sings along to old favorites.

Best Irish pub I've visited and serves a perfect Guinness. Better atmosphere then all Irish bars I've visited in Dublin or elsewhere in the world. Live music and the staff is lovely

Came across this lovely bar by accident whilst visiting Amsterdam with my friend. Very welcoming staff, friendly and knowledgeable. We went back a couple of times throughout our stay and each time was like the first! Live music also most evenings which is fantastic! 10/10 would recommend.

My food was really good. I got the fish and chips which was really fresh, crispy and tasty as I like it! Big portion as well for the big price. Drinks as usual, nice draft Guinness was going down fast. The stuff looked busy, because most of the time they did not catch my calling or waving. Also they said that we can not payed separately which was a huge lie, because in the end we did so. Nice place for more people, foodwise lovely for sure

Stopped here twice during our stay in Amsterdam. Once for an after dinner drink and once for dinner and drinks. Not fancy. I did like that they had blankets out because it was cold the first night we stopped. Food was tasty and delivered quickly. There is no host so it was a little weird trying to figure out the seating, but all in all a good place.

I had the entrecot on my first day here in beautiful Amsterdam and the evening before I left in had the fish and and chips. Both great choices. Loved it, the fries and salad I recommend 👌

Nice location and decent food/drinks. However, it took an hour for our food to come, and when we politely asked the waitress if the food was still coming, she gave my parents a very rude and passive aggressive answer. There was not even an apology. Quite disappointed by this experience.

It was the worst fried food I have ever eaten or seen in my life. I don't know how old the oil was in which they fried it, but it just smelled bad. The service was fast, the atmosphere was nice, not bad.

We went to watch a soccer match. We had chicken sate, fish and chips, and vegetarian bitterballen and some drinks and other snacks. The food was okay, definitely nothing special. The crust on the fish and chips was soft, definitely nothing special straight out of a fryer. All the snack food was standard. Drinks were pretty good, a lot of options. Staff was very nice but there wasn’t much service. We were inside and went to the bar for all of our orders. Totally fine and they were happy to help but nobody came to us for any orders or anything. It is a sports bar, so they had the game on but it is quite loud so if you’re not there to watch maybe sit outside or farther from the bar area. Overall not bad. Perfectly pleasant. But could for sure be improved in some areas.

Came for breakfast here but was disappointed as I just wanted scrambled eggs and sausage and toast but had to pay the full price of the Irish breakfast which was €14. When the food came it looked really nice and tasted really really good. So can’t fault the quality of the food here. Overall good experience just a shame about paying full price for a select few items from the breakfast but it is what it is. 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks came to €36 which I think was worth it for the quality and the amount of food you get.

Great Irish bar in a good location. Good service. Nice selection of beer. We tried bitterballen for the first time. It’s a fried ball of meaty gravy. The spicy nut came in a cool little can. Plus fries, the Dutch love their fries.

Didn’t try any food - available? In the heart of the more high street part of Amsterdam. Still a great atmosphere - initially a quiet pint with plenty of screens for sport and music over speakers. A bit more off the beaten track for pub crawlers/groups. Did get rowdy but it’s an Irish bar! Good pint, reasonably priced and the staff remained polite and kept a cool head despite the arrival of two large groups.

Cut we little place to grab a good cocktail. Everyone very friendly. Try the pornstar martini with fresh passionfruit, absolutely delicious

i had 2 fried eggs on toast & cup of tea for €10 so the breakfast was OK for the price but a very very strong smell of Cats Piss & all the furniture was old & dirty looking. NOT very inviting 😒

I was a bit worried after reading some of the negative reviews, but everything was perfect! All the staff members were perfectly pleasant and the rooms were clean. The only issues for me were the stairs (3 floors up with very steep stairs) and there was only 1 toilet for a whole room of people.

Noisy street but really close to the red light district so you must know where you staying. The hostel has a Pub downstairs with a DJ on weekends until 2:00am, they provide free earplugs. The staff was really kind and helpful, room its shared with a lot of people more but you have some kind of intimacy. Showers and toilets were clean.

Great place for short stays and in a perfect location, close to everything.It is in red light district but as a women we still felt safe. We stayed in a capsule bed for 2 nights in a mixed dormitory, which had 6 capsule beds. However, all 6 beds were for women, as they try to separate women and men as much as possible to make women feel more comfortable — which was great. The rooms, bathrooms, and showers are really nice and very clean (with great lighting for doing your makeup and also a full-length mirror). The capsules are very big and you can sit straight comfortably in them and have thick walls between them, adjustable lighting, 1 power outlet, and 2 USB outlets. Each person also gets a locker in the room, big enough to fit a carry-on suitcase and more. The only downside was the poorly designed ladder for the upper capsules. It was quite hard to climb up and down, especially after a long day. There is also a luggage storage area that can fit large suitcases as well.

Honestly I wanted to give this place a high rating but too many things were off and so realistically I rate it at a 1 :( *First big minus is that there are Three floors and winding narrow stairs which made it impossible for me to bring up my luggage so I had to run clothes up and down the stairs my entire stay. * the lower bunks are very low so having stayed there a week my head has been banged up pretty good by hitting myself constantly to against the metal bars. There is plenty of room to have raised the bunk height so people could at least sit up in the lower bunk. The upper bunk has plenty of room. As I’m writing this I have a painful bump on my head. * third floor showers shoot water at the door making it impossible to shower and not make a mess because there’s so little room/clearance. * front door broke so a few times it was impossible to actually get into the hostel and I had to go through the Pub * the storage lockers slide out from under the bed and are positioned so close in a tight space that getting ready when there are even two people awake in your corner takes a very long time because everyone is in each others way. When your neighbor opens their metal storage bin it bangs against the bed either jolting you awake or just being annoying. The space management in this hostel is horrendous. Everything is so tight that there’s no room for anything. * cleaner came in the middle of the night 12:30pm banging around making noise and woke up the entire floor giving us anxiety attacks. Completely inconsiderate. * Italian girl staff wasn’t the friendliest The positive is that the space was relatively well kept. Bedding was clean. Hostel had nice visual design. But honestly I’d forego the nice visuals for a more comfortable stay. I think this experience has put me off hostels.

Amazing sound proof. I slept like a child in the pod, best sleep I have ever had in a hostel. Only thing is the pod is very small. I am petite so I have no problem moving inside the pod, but if you are tall you will find it uncomfortable. Highly recommend this hostel for budget travelers who just need a place to lay down at night.

I will NEVER forget how kind-hearted and compassionate Mariana was (I believe she’s Brazilian and works at the reception). I went through a really difficult moment (I was having a psychosis episode after taking a gummy) and she handled the situation like an absolute hero. Mariana did everything she could to help me feel safe and calm. She comforted me, cleaned up my mess (something she didn’t have to do) without a hint of judgment (she was smiling at me and telling me that she’s just happy I’ll be feeling better after throwing up!!!) , She treated me with so much empathy and understanding that it honestly brought me to tears. In a moment when I felt completely lost, she made me feel human again 🥹🫶🏻 It’s incredibly rare nowadays to meet someone so genuinely good-hearted, and I’m endlessly thankful for her kindness that night. Mariana, I’ll forever be grateful for you, you truly saved me when I needed it most. I hope life gives you back all the love and goodness you give to others. 🫶🏻 And if her manager happens to read this: please know you have a truly special person on your team , she absolutely deserves a raise (and all the praise)!

Went for late lunch. I got bangers and mash, it was good. My friends got cottage pie, which lacked mashed potsyoes and was served with beans. A bit strange. Music was way too loud 2 pm in the afternoon could not make a conversation and when asked to turn it a bit down, nothing was done.

Spent a couple of hours here having a very nice breakfast. The staff were friendly and welcoming, great music, and generally just a nice chilled time.

Attended on 17/9/25 for tea. Ordered the 1/2 chicken with chips and salad and the nachos. It was brilliant. Would defiantly return. Thanks

Slainte near the Red Light District in Amsterdam is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is incredibly warm and inviting, just like stepping into a cozy pub back home. The staff are beyond amazing, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We had an absolutely fantastic time, filled with great vibes, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The authentic Irish charm combined with top-notch service truly sets this place apart, the staff are Irish too! I can’t recommend it enough, 10/10 all the way! We’re already looking forward to our next visit, especially to dive into their food menu. If you’re in Amsterdam and want a genuine, fun, and welcoming pub experience, Slainte is the place to be! A relaxed place where I could sit outside and enjoy my beer. The outdoor tables hadn’t been set up yet, so I asked if we could have one, and the lady at the bar immediately said she’d help and prepared the table, then brought us our beers. It’s a place where all the staff seem genuinely happy. We’ll definitely come back again

Been coming to Amsterdam for sometime now and always my first port of call - this time around I enjoyed a few beers and some breakfast in the outside area and met some lovely fellow solo travelers. Hint - get the cheese toastie in the morning well worth the €3 something to like your stomach for a small snack Staff are amazing and always up for a joke - see you again soon and thank you for being my home from home boozer

Nice enough, met the most of the criteria for a place that goes under the Irish Pub moniker. Honestly, it wasn't that busy, but the pace of the service was glacial. Had my order taken at the table but was within a whisker of walking out. Moreover, if you going to call it a pint, then serve it as one to satisfy your description. If you serve it in half-liters, then call it that. Both 'pints' were disappointingly short of the requisite milliliters (568) required to make them so. That said, there was a good crowd and a good craic. I had a good time but if you can't be serving inadequately-replete pots to the punters in Temple Bar, then don't serve them here either.....

***MY HONEST REVIEW*** The atmosphere of the place is nice, and it is well located. But stick with drinking beer there I must say. I do not recommend, however that you order a COCKTAIL, those are a SCAM. I ordered a Long Island and it just tasted like ice tea, then I went inside to speak to the waiter saying that my cocktail was super weak. I asked her how come there’s supposed to be four types of alcohol in there, and it just tasted like ice tea? She replied to me saying that it was properly made, but then I asked how many doses of each drink do you add to it and she said that was pre-made in the morning, in other words, a scam, not a real Long Island cocktail. If she had added a real dose to my drink, or made a real one, I would’ve been happy, but instead she was TRYING to DEFEND a cocktail that was POORLY made, and that’s why I came here to write this review.

Had a great time at O’Donnell’s! The atmosphere is warm and lively, and the service made the evening even better. Antony and Hanna were serving us both super friendly, funny, and attentive. They made us feel welcome right away and kept the vibe light and enjoyable throughout the night. Definitely the kind of service that makes you want to come back. Highly recommend this spot! 🍻

Came here couple of weeks ago during my holiday The bar staff are quiet rude, snappy and inattentive towards the customers it seems like taking our order is a problem for them especially from the lady who rolls her eyes at customers. Better bar staff is what this bar needs But there is good stuff too about this bar when we sat down we were served by a waiter named Alex and he honestly made us feel so much better after the bar people we dealt with. He is very attentive and funny and always serves you with a big smile and doesn't miss a beat to make us laugh! Atmosphere is warm in the bar to sit down and enjoy some beer and some snacks! Alex just makes the bar atmosphere way more welcoming and fun! 🌟

We love it here! This is our local Irish pub. They have good beers and food, great service and the staff go above and beyond. From helping us out with lost belongings to airing specific sports games. Extra thanks to the manager Danny for organising an AFL grand final event for us!

Can't believe I have to write a negative review on an Irish pub. I do have to write it though, as I've been reading through the reviews and I have seen others with the same experience from before our visit. Leaving me to wonder how this pub has such a high rating? We had many pints of Guinness in amsterdam, in different locations - this one was the worst. We were looking to have food and drinks. The place was busy enough but there was plenty of staff to take an order. We found a table easily enough too. Went to the bar to order 2 pints of Guinness, standing there for what felt like forever. Finally a young man took our order, poured step one of the pint, charged us and just disappears. A woman came by and started pouring loads of Guinness pints. I tried asking her to top off my pints and she just ignored me. It took about 15 mins to get someone elses attention after that. I felt like going around and sorting it myself. However, I waited. I was looking around the pub and thought its a bit busy, not as busy as it does be in Ireland - where you'd still get served in good timing. The blond woman behind the bar was just standing there(looking outside), continuing to ignore me. Finally a young man got behind the bar. I asked him about my pints and said the other man disappeared. He told me to wait for him!! I said absolutely not, you're both just standing there doing nothing. Then the blonde woman Finally topped off 2 pints and slammed them onto the bar. I'd have left in that moment, those pints shouldn't have been left so long and the service was so far, shocking. But wed already paid. We drank the pints, which were awful. But we said we'd have another one for the benefit of the doubt. Sitting at a table we were waiting on the wait staff to take an order. The table beside us had a group of men watching the match and were served twice while we were drinking our pints. My husband went to the bar and was served right away by the blonde woman. The pints this time were also terrible. The staff clearly can't pull a pint of Guinness and certainly don't know about good basic customer service. It's push back on the lever to finish a pint of Guinness, by the way. Our pints were finished about 20 minutes and we decided to leave at half time. Only when we were leaving did a waitress approach us and offer any food or drinks. We were right beside the bar. This waitress though, was very busy and probably the only staff member who was actually working. 1 star for the amount of tvs in the pub. We felt so unwelcome. There's a great Irish bar in Leidzeplein- I'd recommend trying there instead. Their Guinness and service was great!

Phenomenal craft beer spot in historic Amsterdam specialized in Dutch offerings. Nicely curated selection, offering around 50 draft beer rotating options. They cover a great gamut of styles, contemporary and classic pours, with special releases in a nicely maintained set up. They also have some selected bottles and cans, and a few designated offerings that can be taken to go. Snack food in the form of charcuterie and cheese boards offer plenty of Netherlands options. Portions are generous and tasty. The venue´s decor has a classic copper and wood feel with some breweriana. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating by the canal. Staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and affable. They offer courteous sample pours to explore some options, and do know the craft and hospitality business very well. I saw bartenders being exemplary, courteous, and very professional managing with dexterity and elegance the rare potentially difficult patron. The pub is part of a group that has other venues associated around town with a more international range of ales. The specialization of this one into the Dutch craft beer scene is very notable, offering a very enjoyable insight into their brews. It's a compulsory stop for the Amsterdam visit.

Wonderful selection of Dutch beers and amazing cheese platter for snacking. If you have time there is 3 additional bars that collaborate in a one day challenge of tasting a beer all 4 bars for a free shirt. It was a fun way to try the local bars and take back a souvenir from our trip.

Prices are quite reasonable for Amsterdam. The bartenders are polite, friendly, and always helpful. As a decades long global beer hunter, Arendsnest is one of the world's best. While other beer bars tend to focus solely on their own brews or feature a menu of global beers longer than War and Peace, Ardensnest focuses on Dutch beers. There's a few guest taps for contrast, but the innovation and quality of Dutch brewers, in a Dutch only atmosphere, is the primary delivery. Ardensnest is primarily a neighborhood bar, in a relatively quiet part of Amsterdam, where locals and a few fortunate beer tourists gather to enjoy the close, friendly space and a few incredible beers.

One of the best pubs I’ve been to in Amsterdam. The tap list is great and the food options are also very nice. Prices are regular. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is also the first stop of the MoreBeer beer tour of Amsterdam. Definitely worth a shot!

Four bartenders behind the bar but no one actually wants to serve a customer until the supervisor came, and when they finally took the order it looks (and tastes) like they can’t even pour a pint properly, when questioned their response was “this is how we drink Guinness in The Netherlands” which is absolutely not the case 😂 Save your money and time, and go check out the hundreds of other bars & pubs in Amsterdam and across The Netherlands that can actually pour a pint and seem like they actually want to! (Also came here for breakfast on our first morning which was an average portion and at least edible but not worth the money, I mean I hope you can’t go wrong with eggs…)

Came to watch WCW, lots of TVs large and small. Several couch and high top section to be able to see multiple games at once. Surprised that it wasn't busier but outside things started to pick up late in the night. Taxis drop at the bridge before going into Rembrandt square

A pretty spacious bar for how narrow the entrance is. Looks like it's students' favourite gathering spot. Very noisy and boisterous pub. Decorated with plenty lights, the tiny back terrace looks beautiful, but what a pity, it's crowded by heavy smokers.

I visited this place at the end of September 2025 for a morning lunch. My aim were the hot chicken wings, and my order consisted of 1/2 kilo portion of chicken wings with the Louisiana-style hot sauce, potato wedges, and some strawberry juice (Looza). The juice was great! It's not like I just received juice, there was ice and slices of lime. My goodness, I haven't gotten so much attention to a drink in a while and at the price they serve it at, that is a 5+/5. Shame I can't give 6/5. About the wings, I am sorry to say this: they felt undercooked to me, and were also devoid of any crispiness that is so characteristic for hot wings. Also, they were served quite cold compared to the potato wedges. The dish was completely dominated by the sour smell and taste of the Louisiana-style hot sauce, whilst I preferred to also feel some taste of the juice from the wings once I got inside, which I couldn't get a slightest hint of. The sauce hotness seemed all right from what I read about it. My belly disagreed with this meal, due to what felt to me like under-prepared and relatively cold-served chicken. That is a 2/5 altogether for the wings. In terms of presentation, one of those paper packs was sticking to a wing (check the image), which was not a great first impression. Potato wedges were really hot in temperature. I've left them for after the wings, and they were still searing hot. I assume that is good. The seasoning was quite good on them, it must be quite a feat to make it stick so well. What I was missing, however, is moisture in those potatoes. They were quite dry and have felt like sand on the inside. My belly also disagreed with their dryness. That is a 2/5 altogether for the potatoes. In terms of presentation, this has a nice touch. I got potatoes in a newspaper-like wrap, with two sauces. The cost of those items was very much *all right*; fair for the quantity of the dishes. The exception was the juice, where the price was on the generous side. Very nice offer in terms of quantity for the price! This bright space, although relatively mid- to small-sized, has quite a vibe. The colors are bright, the walls are covered in musical album covers, and there is even a mirror ball on the ceiling! The music is on the mid-loud side, but it's possible to have a conversation. The atmosphere must be the selling point here, 5/5. The staff interactions were okay. I would say possibly a bit distant, but okay! 4/5 I would say the cleanliness of the place is around 4/5; I've noticed some dirt on the floor around my table, but overall it was fine. So, I can't judge the lunch based on the drink, so together with the fair price and the whole rest of the package it's about 3/5 for this place. The food alone would have been a clean 2/5 from me, it has a long way to go and I think it is the main thing to improve.

Chose this place to have a lunch for a group of four. We ordered some burgers and chose wedges as a side dish and some drinks. Food was good, yes(although the burgers consisted 50%of a bun) but when the check arrived we were unpleasantly shocked by the price. It turns out you have to pay for the fries separately. The menu is made in the way it’s not obvious at all, misleading you to believe you just choosing it as part of the dish. It is done deliberately. Also, one of toilet cabins had a broken door lock and the floor was sticky and it smelled.

The potato wedges was very flavorful and the quantity was good enough for the price. Quite close to centraal, making it a very convenient location. The place was designed quite well. Service was great too!

it was the first time I had seen a 1.5 litre beer. I liked the beer but it was overpriced. we paid around 20-25 euros for it. we also tried vegan bitterballen and we really liked them🍻

Food was delicious but it was too much. We ordered two salads and thought we wouldn’t have so much penne in one and sweet potato in another. It’s highly recommended to go very hungry there. Unfortunately we left a lot on the plate.

Needed to wait a long time before we got served despite being almost the only people in the place. Then we needed to follow up with the staff about the order only to find out it was never registered due to an issue with the machine. The food itself lacked any kind of spice. We got free drinks as a compensation but it was not a pleasant experience.

We had a fantastic lunch at The Old Bell in Amsterdam! We sat outside - beautiful spot to soak up the atmosphere of Amsterdam! Service was wonderful and the food amazing! Best fish and chips I’ve ever had - and I’ve had them all over the UK. We also had chicken wings - perfect seasoning and lightly spicy. So good we made reservations to return for dinner!

I've been going to the Old Bell for about 25 years, whenever I visit Amsterdam. I don't remember for sure when I first went but it has become a standard pilgrimage every time. Good bar food. Good beers. Good cider!

Amazing Irish type bar find in Amsterdam. Selection of beers and beverages was expansive and ambiance as well as the service makes you want to come back. Unfortunately although there were some vegetarian options there were barely any vegan options

Extremely busy as it was Kingsday. Decent place to grab a pub lunch and drinks Plenty of outside seating, located in Rembrandt plein. Staff friendly, polite and attentive.

We had fish and chips and spare ribs. Both were delicious. The salad was also tasty. They had a wide range of beers to choose from. It was a good experience. Service could of been better. Our waiter didn't come by to ask us if our dinner was good or if we needed anything.

Atmosphere is very nice to sit and enjoy talking with your friends looks like family place ،super nice one thing I didn't like it i went 2 times for coffee they said first time it's late now and the machine not working next day went early and they said no coffee at all

A really nicely decorated pub, they clearly worked a lot on the interior. The food is great, and you get quite big portions for dinner. There are plenty of options for beer, even alcohol free ones.

Great beers and brewery in a windmill. We had the tasting 17.5 € pp, and it was good to taste their different beers. It was a bit windy being outside but there were no tables inside. The food selection somewhat limited and the friendliness of the staff working at the food counter could be improved.

Easy to get to and the wait time is short. Lots of options for drinks to choose from. Plenty of seating for couples and groups. The location looks amazing too. We sat outside by the river and had a beer each. No complaints! A great place to visit.

The service here needs improving. They’re always busy so it seems they can get away without treating customers well or adhering to food standards. The beer was ok but the food was terrible. Poorly put together and served by a guy who kept licking his fingers in between cutting up sausage, cheese and squeezing out mustard and other sauces from a bag - DISGRACEFUL! Being a typical Brit, I didn’t complain, but I couldn’t eat it after seeing that.

We tried a flight at Brouwerij 't IJ—decent beers, but mostly their basic range. None of the more unique or special brews were included, which made it a bit underwhelming if you're hoping to taste the brewery’s full potential. At €17.50, it felt overpriced, especially with cold service and a tip prompt. Still, the windmill setting is charming and it’s a pleasant enough stop, though it leans touristy.

You cannot wish for a better place to enjoy life. The location is super nice and the more you drink the better it goes. Deff on the must do things in Amsterdam.

Stayed for only 1 night and it was fine! Booked a private room and found it to be the perfect size. I only slept in it anyways! Was clean and stocked with shampoo / body wash. Towels were included which was nice. Hallways are noisy, and so is the courtyard outside, but it is a hostel after all! Just bring earplugs and you'll be fine. Would stay here again - the location is fabulous!

Staff are helpful and friendly and it seems it would normally be a fairly chilled atmosphere. Advertised as a budget hostel and you get what you pay for; beds are comfy and rooms + bathrooms are regularly cleaned. The general feel of the place is good. However, something worth flagging to any adults wanting to book this place; the website states there is a hard age limit of 18-40, with anyone under 18 needing a legal guardian. Whilst this makes it sound like there might be the occasional young family there (as you get with other hostels), we ended up with 1 or 2 school trips. The end result of this little development was screaming kids running up and down the corridor, knocking on everyone's rooms and slamming doors until 2am (the hostel supposedly has quiet hours after 10pm). In the hostel's defence, the staff member on duty did his best to ask them to keep it down. I imagine it was just like whackamole, except it can't have been fun, the moles are screaming and it makes you want to cry. We also got asked to leave the communal bar area at one point so that the whole room could be used by the school. I'm all for downing a sangria on a Monday evening but not sure if the other residents were. No issue with these venues being used for school trips, it's a great opportunity for them to see the city. But this needs to be made clear on the website, and not advertised as an edgy hostel for adults.

Great location, just what you need to explore Amsterdam. Staff very friendly on check in, we had a room booked for a group of six, which included its own bathroom. Digital lock on the door, 3 sets of bunk beds, with a pillow, duvet and shower towel each. No toiletries in the bathroom, even basic ones but thats not a big deal. There was a small shop next door where we could get some. There was a nightclub downstairs on Saturday night which was fun to go down too for a while when we were back. The vibe in the place was very positive and friendly, bar staff in Ms Chelins were nice and helpful. Really great location to base yourself for exploring around Amsterdam. I would highly recommend.

Great location, with everything close by. The hostel was clean, but the bunk bed height was too low to sit comfortably, I kept hitting my head. There was no place to relax in the room, so it was only suitable for sleeping. The washrooms were very small, making it a bit of a hassle even to take a shower. Overall, I’d rate it 3.5/5 and would suggest considering other hostels for better comfort.

I felt safe and valued at this hostel, and enjoyed my two night stay in a mixed dorm. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. In-room storage space was great. Rooms were small, but it was enough to live in. Staff were helpful.

Rooms and adjacent bathrooms were clean. Great location close to various tram lines, the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum. The staff was helpful and kind. The hostel lounge/bar was comfortable and nice looking. Breakfast was basic but good with breads, cereal, milk, cheese, turkey, ham, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, jam, hazelnut spread, coffee, juice and water.

Rooms are small, but well maintained and clean. Regular cleaning services is being carried out. Staffs are friendly and cooperative. Location of the hostel is prime, close to major tourist hubs and also the Amsterdam Central station. Thank you

Great choice of craft beer, and I mean great. Around 50 beers from tap, including such US giants as Other Half, Parish, Bottle Logic and many others. The bartenders are kind. Interesting toilets as well 😀

Great bar, amazing selection of craft beers. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Popped in a few times. And it's on the beer tour (visit 4 bars and get a beer to collect a free t shirt). Bar snacks are ok. Nice restaurant next door if you want a proper meal.

Amazing atmosphere with good vibes and nice views, it can be difficult to find a place to sit, but it's possible to split a table with someone if they're okay with it. There are a lot of beer options and also jars, which makes it easier to share. They also have vegan options, and we tried the Vegan Bitterballen and it was simply amazing! I can just recommend it.

This place is really a cool spot, good cold beer, good food and if you come by boat you can pull up to the dock, scan the QR code and the servers will bring your food and drinks right to your boat! It got a little crowded after we were there for a while, but all the locals were very friendly and welcoming, I was sorry we didn't make it back there.

Beautiful view. Fast service. The French onion soup was great. The nachos for me personally, I would not order again. But they are just like nachos every where here. Drinks were nice and cold. We will be back. We had a chicken sandwich which was good as well. Loved this place.

Absolutely idyllic! Great for an outdoor pint in a non-touristy atmosphere, with some shade under the trees, this place is tucked away between houseboat gardens, but mere minutes walk away from the Science Museum and city centre & perfect if you want a little oasis away from the bustle. They offer a solid beer selection, small plates and desserts, but it's all about the dreamy atmosphere. You can even dock your boat and order drinks there via QR code! Extra mention goes to the tables - every single one is a unique piece of art! Cannot recommend the place enough

The atmosphere was great, and the weather enhanced it. You can even go for a swim but I didn't. Foodwise. The snacks were good and flavorful, especially the Bitterballen and Nacho's. However, the main food (burger) was of poor quality and lacked flavor. Fries were great though. If they improve on the quality of the main dishes, I can definitely recommend this place. If you only go for drinks and snacks, also great!

A very inviting spot for drinks and snacks with friends or coworkers, especially on those rare, warm sunny days in Amsterdam. The prices feel fair for a place that offers such a relaxing view over the river. Bonus: you can even park your boat here and order drinks, making it a unique and charming experience.

Perfect location is being wasted by the incompetent management! I have been here a couple of times already in the last years but my final visit made me to review eventually. Prices are high for what you get as a food/service. We ordered 4 cheeseburgers and 3 of them had cartilage pieces in them. How low is the meat quality. You order Cola and it tastes worse than the machine ones in McDonald's. Plus, the food and drink are served with paper/plastic cup and board. I am not visiting here soon. There are already better places by the water in south. The management team needs a fact check.

Terrible Bartender Ruined the Night The atmosphere of the bar was actually decent, but the bartender completely ruined the experience. He was shockingly rude, unwelcoming, and aggressive toward customers — treating people like an inconvenience rather than guests. He showed zero professionalism, and his behavior toward non-locals felt blatantly racist. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect in any bar before. Avoid this place unless they replace him — he has no business working in hospitality.

The look of the building and inside were really good with decent music. The service was ok, the drinks on the other hand were very expensive compared to other pubs I've been to. There is plenty of areas to park your bike to grab a drink or two.

I had high hopes for the Red Light Bar, but unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by an unacceptable incident. While the atmosphere was decent and the drinks were fine, I was attacked by a bouncer without provocation. This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and inexcusable. I strongly urge management to address their security practices and ensure that staff treat patrons with respect. No one should have to feel unsafe at a bar. If you’re considering visiting, be cautious—what should have been a fun night out turned into an unpleasant and distressing experience.

The mood was really nice, the music too The price for the drinks is pretty standard and the barman was cool. Only problem: the smell in the toilets, pretty horrible and you can smell it on the whole upper floor

We came into the bar to use the bathroom and order a beer afterwards. We walked up to the bar tender, an older woman with grey hair, glasses and a striped top, said hi and asked where the bathroom was? She immediately began berating us about being impolite and said the bar didn’t need any more customers. From the looks of how empty it was, I think it did. Anyway, as far as service goes 0/10.

Amazing bar in the center of Amsterdam. As it's a beer tasting room they have many different kinds of beers, both from the tap and bottled. Every single one we tried was great, even the IPA's which I normally don't like. The people working here are also so friendly and talkative, they recommended us many great beers. They don't have any music to make sure people can talk with each other and not be distracted, which I personally prefer. They also have great bar snacks up until closing so you don't have to leave if you get a bit hungry. Only been here once now but it's immediately one of my favourites, will definitely return!

You know you’re in the right place when everybody in there is under 30 and they’ve run out of Jägermeister! Cheap drinks and chill vibe is what we were after and is what we got. Making some friends along the way since they had a Foosball Table.

I was travelling alone, asked around for where might suit me, was recomended sound garden. Great place. I was taken in by a group as honarar friend...met loads of people. Lovely outdoor area by the canal. Friendly staff. The bouncer was was the highlight of my night, top guy!!! I'll be recommending this place to everyone.

Nice Bar, very busy. One of the few bars in Amsterdam with an alternative touch, but still the same music as every rock/grunge bar in Europe, very predictable. Bonus point for the very nice terrace facing the canal and the comparable cheap beer (still at least 6 Euros for half litre).

Fun and energetic bar, good music. The pool table/foosball give it a social and open atmosphere, makes it easy to connect with other people around you. Special shoutout to the door guard Doc, she made me feel safe and welcome… we need more people like her in the nightscene!

This place was pretty darn nice. They do have a patio overlooking one of many canals, but I stayed inside at the bar. There is a very wide drink selection there aside from beers, but you should give a few of the beers a taste. I was told the Tripel (included in photos) was a local brew that is regularly delivered by the brewer. Tried it and wasn't disappointed!

The bar itself is pretty cool, and the people hanging out there are very chill. You will get ripped off and taken advantage of as a tourist, though, as the staff likes to overcharge you on drinks or scam you when returning your cups.

So the ratings were very bad but we still ordered the cesar salad and the burger and it was good! There could be more fries withtheburger but in the end we were happy! But i really don't like the plastic waste for the sauces! So only 3 stars..

Nice service, staff smiling which is nice, food was ok. I had soup and a pizza, WiFi is good. Menu is not to large which I prefer. Food was a little underseasoned but that was fine I seasoned to my own taste. A rather unusual pizza as it was served in a hot plate however the toppings went well together.

Pizza has to be the worst I’ve ever tasted. They serve it on a hot skillet, it can’t be cut and shared properly. It’s dripping with liquid, seems greasy. Large beer they served me was 250ml. Has to be the smallest large cheery beer ever. I complained in general as we were leaving but rather than just editing the price so I only pay for the half they brought, they refused and said I’d have to take the other half of a pint. Con men must be working here. Severely overpriced slop.

To be honest I would have rated this 0* if I could have. The service was absolutely appalling and I can’t believe the lack of attentiveness from the staff. My boyfriend and I sat ourselves down on a table outside and in all honesty it wasn’t too long before a waiter came over and asked what we wanted. However prior to this we were not given a food menu or a drinks menu so had no idea what to choose. My boyfriend asked the waiter what beers that have and he listed them off in the most uninterested way possible and made no eye-contact whatsoever, he kind of just stared into the distance like he couldn’t be bothered to say them all (probably because he has to all day but that’s besides the point). After we had ordered our drinks I got up and got myself a food menu to see what was on offer. I was not impressed by the price of the food for what I saw being brought out to tables. Anyway 10 minutes passed and our beer and lemonade had still not come out nor had we been asked if we wanted any food. Shockingly poor service - I would not recommend this place.

Huge restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating with large umbrellas to shield the sun. The service is slow but the food is good. Lunch was a bit pricey but they take care with their service.

A pretty nice hip pub, very cozy and has a great atmosphere. They have a pool table smoking room which is convenient for smoking indoors. Also, you can watch sports/football on their screens. Food menu is pretty good as well. Service is nice with a welcoming staff.

Very friendly staff. I did not get the woman's name but she is tall blond and beautiful and she makes some of the best cocktails I have had in a long time if she is there get her to make your drink you won't regret it. If you are a rugby supporter and don't like the massive crowds of the other Irish bars this place Is big enough to fit everyone comfortably and have a great atmosphere at the same time. There are television's everywhere so no matter where you sit you can see the game.

Yet another favourite in Amsterdam – Craft & Draft totally won me over. Popped in on a Friday, loved it, and found myself back again on Sunday. Even as a non-beer drinker, I really enjoyed exploring their selection – tried a few and was genuinely impressed. If you are a beer lover, this place must be a dream. What truly made it special though was the staff – so friendly, warm, and welcoming. Golden people, honestly. I ended up chatting with lovely locals and fellow visitors, swapping tips and stories over a pint. A proper feel-good place I’ll always return to.

New local owners who run the bar next door have ruined the place as an Irish pub. It's now just another tourist trap unfortunately. As others have said charging 50c for the toilet is the last straw. Plenty of better places in Amsterdam for a pint. Sad.

The staff are lovely people, chatty, friendly, and quick. It’s a pity that since the new management took over a few years ago the place itself has been turning into a big tourist trap, now makes you pay 50 cents to use the toilet, and they serve what can only be defined as junk food. You can really tell nothing is fresh. It’s a real pity.

Dan Murphy's used to be a friendly, lively, charming and charismatic Irish pub. It has now, unfortunately, turned into a tourist trap that charges high paying customers €0.50 to use their toilet! Absolutely criminal merchant behaviour, the owners should be ashamed of themselves for charging this, definitely will not be going back

We stopped in to Dan Murphy's Irish Bar for a couple of pints to cool off from walking around the city. The bartender was friendly and quick with service. Everything was pretty clean and nicely kept. We didn't stay for food, so I can't say anything about that. But there is a lot of outdoor seating, in addition to their indoor space. As a Liverpool Football supporter - I was really happy to see that this is a great place to take in an EPL game - especially if you're a Red. If we're back in Amsterdam again, we'll definitely stop in!

Great experience at this bar-restaurant! We were warmly welcomed, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The tapas were really tasty and the drinks were great too. Huge thanks to Marwa she was super friendly and cheerful, and even sang with us at karaoke! We'll definitely be back.

Popped into here for an early dinner and there was only one other couple in their. The staff was very kind and friendly. The food took over 35 minutes to prepare and was quite disappointing. The fish and chips smelled and tasted extremely fishy and the grilled chicken baguette was sub par. The burger was delicious though. Unfortunately, Wouldn’t recommend this place.

My friend and I loved our experience here. Great place to stop in for a cold beer. Marwa is one of the best servers I have ever met, with an even sweeter soul, and I hope to be back one day sooner than later.

This is the fish and chips offering. Please note one chip not chips! It was a very bad frozen fish fillet and one small tartar sauce included for €17,50! Our waitress was lovely and the local beer was good. Very sad this was our last dinner in Amsterdam.

Best Pub in Amsterdam! Everybody is super nice, good beer, coffee and drinks. The LB Burger is one the best I ever had. The atmosphere at Karaoke nights is amazing!

Extremely ridiculous experience today. Was walking to the train station and needed to use their bathroom. Bar tender said it was only for customers and said he would charge me 4 euros for a bottle of water. I paid and went upstairs to go use it. I came back down and he wouldn't let me take my water bottle w me. Ok so you have a tourist trap bar by the train, run your business how you want but it was laughable to not let me keep my over priced small water I paid for. Capitalism final boss. Btw if you walk directly upstairs you can use the bathroom without asking 😅

Be careful of thieves. They stole our expensive jackets yesterday night . There are thieves running around of this place . Be aware!!!

Great experience. The karaoke rooms are awesome. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. I made an error with the booking and they managed to sort it out for us without any fuss and made sure we could enjoy the evening. We had a blast. Will defo be going back. The cocktails were good and the beer was reasonably priced. Fun to have your own beer tap in the karaoke room as well.

€9.00 a pint is no joke. Two pints in a plastic glass, €18.00. One mute grumpy barman for this busy bar. Floor was sticky, it gave teen disco vibes. It has a pool table, location is good. Best thing about it is that it's open to 3am.

The atmosphere can be nice but the 10 euro cocktail on the tap makes the experience kind of bad. I put 2 stars for the night train stickers on the outside which I really liked.

Booked a karaoke room and had an amazing time!!!! You could order drinks from the room, they would bring it upstairs super fast, also there was a beer tap in the room! Deff recommend for a fun time!

We ordered the worst cocktails in our life, for 10€ each. Also the staff wasnt really polite. The music was good tho.
