Bakery
Le Fournil de Sébastien Amsterdam is a renowned bakery known for its mouthwatering croissants and other French specialties. The bakery, owned by French native Sebastien and his Dutch wife Susan, takes pride in crafting everything from scratch without the use of ready-made shortcuts or additions. As the first French-owned bakery in the Netherlands, Le Fournil maintains an artisanal approach combined with traditional baking methods to offer customers an authentic French experience.
I was searching for a French bakery in Amsterdam after coming back from Paris; and this place didn’t disappoint. A big assortment of freshly baked goods— everything looks so tempting and amazing! The line is moving quickly, and the staff is friendly and nice! I couldn’t resist to eat a pain chocolat straight away 👹 I will definitely come back many many many times 😁❤️ PS: they have Canele!

Gorgeous bakery, lovely staff, but everything I tried was meh… The photo of the rhubarb crumble shows how much filling there is vs the dough.. madeleines were to big and fluffy, tasted like muffins, the sardine breads was lackluster and the puffy dough had no character or taste, the teeny baguette was alright.. It’s ok but (a) I wouldn’t travel across Amsterdam for this, and (b) I won’t return
Eve R — Google review
Le Fournil is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves real French bread and pastries. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the wonderful smell of freshly baked baguettes, croissants, and other traditional treats. Everything is made authentically, and you can really taste the difference in quality. Their croissants are perfectly buttery and light, exactly how they should be. The pains au chocolat are consistently excellent too—crispy on the outside and rich on the inside. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. In short: a little piece of France that you’ll want to keep coming back to.

On our last day in Amsterdam, I stopped by this bakery after reading the great reviews online — and it truly lived up to the praise! There was still a good selection at 5.30pm, maybe because of the poor weather. I was happy to pick up croissants (€2), a whole apple tart (€15), financiers, canelés, and a rhubarb tart. Everything was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and packed everything up nicely. Highly recommended!!
Minnie M — Google review
I’ve got Cigalou (with olives and sun-dried tomatoes) and financier today. Both were extremely tasty, cigalou is very soft, but still flavorful and yummy. However, i came for croissants and it’s not nice at all to have them out of stock at 15:55, when it’s french bakery and it’s open till 19:00. And service must definitely be improved, it was noisy and crowded in store, so i can barely hear and the guy at the counter served me with a bit of sarcasm and reluctance, which wasn’t really nice
Narmin G — Google review
Loved the Pavlova. It was fluffy, light, and there was no eggy taste/smell. Be prepared for a long wait tho!
Leyla A — Google review
THE best bakery in all of the Netherlands in my opinion. Freshest, fluffiest, most delicious pastry. Brioche buns they have are phenomenal, and their rhubarb crumble is excellent.

Bakhuys Amsterdam is a long-standing family bakery located near Weesperplein metro on Sarphatistraat. The bakery offers a wide variety of freshly baked goods including sourdough bread, pizza, pastries, and breakfast items. The inviting aroma of freshly baked treats fills the air from 7am onwards, attracting locals and visitors alike.
I had an amazing Latte Macchiato and a delicious Croissant here. Both were absolutely wonderful, reminded me of my Italy vacation days. I'm definitely coming back here again. Added later: I visited again for breakfast on Saturday 27th Sept. Had a cappuccino, croissant and a nice cheese-tomato-pesto sandwich, and I loved all 3. This place is one of my favourites in Amsterdam now.
Ayush A — Google review
The products are not best but they are fresh. Focaccias and pizzas were delicious but we didn’t like the cookies and cinnamon bun. The tables are very dirty I think no one cleans or wipes them. We struggled to sit at a table and eventually we cleaned our own table.
Kardelen T — Google review
I had them for breakfast. Their bakeries are excellent. They have lots of vegetarian and cheese stuff, so it's good for halal too. They have tea, hot coffee, and iced coffee. The coffee wasn't great. I got a flat white, and the beans tasted old and bitter. They have a big indoor seating area. They always have a queue, but they are fast. The staff are friendly. I would recommend basil tomato toast, butter sandwich, and cheese sandwich.
Mohamed R — Google review
Had a really nice breakfast at this wonderful bakery. Everything is fresh and baked on-site. The space is large, the service is friendly and efficient, and the pastries are excellent. The cinnamon bun was a bit dry and lacked a strong cinnamon flavor, but the pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins were absolutely delicious. The cappuccino and the espresso were also very good. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Amazing fresh bakes and desserts! Very authentic busy place ! With nice coffee and friendly service too ! Been here lotsss of times , it’s my go to when I’m craving good bakes or a good coffee!! Highly recommended
Daan — Google review
A great place for breakfast if you happen to be in the area. There's a huge variety of confections, most of which are great.. there's very decent coffee as well, so that is icing on the cake (pun intended!). You order the food and then take it to your table .. you have to go and pick up your coffee too which works fine.. the seating area is spacious and has the nouveau 'industrial vibe', which is cosy and welcoming. The freshly pressed orange juice is great as well... Recommended!

Great bakery! The coffee was excellent, and the croissant was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

Rise Bakery is a charming spot located on the bustling Albert Cuypstraat, making it a perfect stop during a day at the market. The bakery offers a delightful selection of bread and pastries with an Italian and Spanish influence from its owners, Marta and Alessandro. What makes this bakery even more special is the inspiring story behind it - three friends turning the challenges of the pandemic into an opportunity to pursue their dream of opening a bakery in their beloved city.
Came here for the pastries but the coffee was surprisingly amazing! The pastries all looked fantastic but we only got 2. And they were indeed fantastic. We will be back next time we are in the city! Love the big selection, a good variety of sweet and savory.
Alissa O — Google review
I still remember the chocolate and pecan praline cream habano and I would go back to Amsterdam just to have it again! So delicious, my God! Even though the size looks like it would be huge, it’s not. It’s super airy and the cream is light, so you can really taste all the flavors—the dough, the crunch, the chocolate, and the cream. We also ordered the croissant and the cinnamon bun, which never disappoint! Definitely some of the best we’ve had in Amsterdam
Laura M — Google review
It was the best croissant I've ever had. The plain and one with chocolate was very good. I haven't tried the others but they are also very good. And the coffee was very good. I would definitely recommend it.
Fehmi T — Google review
I had an okay experience at Rise Bakery. The pastries looked good, but one was so flaky it broke and fell on the floor, while another I tried was too dry. I ordered the wheel croissant and found it way too sweet for my taste. It was a bit too much for me
Gerald P — Google review
I tried the cinnamon roll, spinach and feta pastry, pain au chocolat, kimchi croissant, and salted caramel cruffin. The cruffin was my absolute favorite, followed by the cinnamon roll. The cappuccino was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. This place truly deserves its high rating.
Begüm M — Google review
Nice bakery. I ordered a small sourdough, a pain au chocolate and ham/cheese croissant. I liked that they slice your bread for you (not all bakeries do this), which is appreciated. Everything was delicious. There are always lots of people, which is a good sign.
Laura C — Google review
It’s small cute bakery behind Albert Cuypmarkt, but the variety is so huge, i went there this Sunday and it was a bit crowded, but i guess i was waiting just 7-8 minutes. Croissant is huge, fluffy, flavourful, special focaccia with mushrooms, olives and salsiccia was the best, highly recommended! I got sourdough baguette as well - it’s fresh and crispy, but it’s a bit too hard to chew
Narmin G — Google review
In my opinion, some of the best pastry in the city. The coffee is amazing, too. Make sure to check out this amazing bakery when visiting the Albert cuypmarket is situated just behind the market stalls.

SAINT-JEAN Bakery is a must-visit spot known for its delectable cruffins, a delightful fusion of muffins and croissants filled with luscious creams like pistachio. The bakery, which has gained immense popularity on social media, offers an array of house-made vegan pastries that are hard to believe aren't dairy-based. Run by a friendly international team, the bakery also serves top-notch coffee.
I had a great experience here! The pastries were tasty and the coffee was absolutely delicious. I really appreciated that they took my allergies seriously — every pastry had almond in the dough, so I could only enjoy the croissant, but they were clear and careful about it, which I value a lot. Despite the limited options for me, everything I had was high quality, and I’d definitely recommend this spot to others.
Alsu — Google review
Never really been sold on vegan pastries, but this place got closer than I expected. Stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday morning. Came about an hour after opening and luckily didn’t hit a line. The shop itself was tiny (3 cramped tables), and I only grabbed a seat because a kind stranger offered to give his up. There’s a bigger deli with proper seating across the canal, but the pastry selection wasn’t the same. Pistachio Raisin Cruffin – Supposedly their pistachio cruffin is the signature, but on my visit it came in this pistachio-raisin detour. The interior was plush and moist. But as some locals pointed out, they no longer use pistachio cream, so pistachio barely whispered through. More like a dressed-up raisin bread than the nutty pastry I had in mind. Pain au Chocolat Hazelnut – Don’t see a lot of twists on pain au chocolat even in trendy bakeries, but this worked. Lamination was on point, crisp outside and structured inside, and instead of the usual baton of chocolate, it came with a hazelnut mousse filling and almond chunks on top. Missing that buttery perfume of a true viennoiserie, of course, but still satisfying. The mousse ran a tad mild at first, but hidden bits of chocolate inside pulled it back nicely. Salted Pistachio Cream Latte – Clearly targeted for American tourists (and judging by the crowd, it seemed to be working). The latte itself was a bit flat though. Much like their cruffin, the pistachio cream was too faint.
Jea K — Google review
I would say this bakery is a must visit for ANYONE - but particularly if you're a vegan. There's a different variety of pastries available every day and every one I tasted was crispy and flaky, with incredible flavour combinations. I ended up coming back a second time because it was too good! (Only con is very limited seating indoors, although you can get a drink at the pub opposite where there's more seating.)
Sunita R — Google review
This is a pastry shop with very limited seating. You’ll have to wait in line a bit, and they only serve croissants and coffee. It was good—not a “5-star amazing” experience, but an ordinary, nice taste. Instead of the classic, it might be better to try the pistachio or almond ones, at least you really get the flavor. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop, but it’s not a “wow” kind of place.
Mel D — Google review
A vegan bakery gem for pistachio lovers Saint-Jean is an incredible vegan bakery. I tried the pistachio cruffin, and as a true pistachio fan, I can honestly say it had the best pistachio filling I’ve ever tasted. The filling was rich, full of flavor, and there was plenty of it — no stingy portions here! The dough was just as impressive: perfectly baked, soft yet flaky. A must-visit spot if you love pastries, vegan or not.
Andreja — Google review
Fortunately, I went at a time when there was hardly any queue. The pistachio cruffin was definitely a highlight—flaky, crunchy, creamy and nutty. On the other hand, the yogurt berry toast was disappointing, The toast itself was quite dry, and the combination with the yogurt icing felt mismatched—the textures clashed, and the flavors didn’t come together as well as I’d hoped. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the visit.
Christie — Google review
Honestly, this place has the best pastries in Amsterdam. Both the coffee and the buns are absolutely incredible - the dough literally melts in your mouth, and they’re packed with filling. MUST VISIT if you have a sweet tooth
Alexandra E — Google review
One of the Best Bakeries in Amsterdam! I stumbled upon this gem in Amsterdam and was pleasantly surprised to find two shops right across from each other — both with the same name, but each offering something different. One specializes in desserts, while the other focuses on savory items. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or salty, this place has you covered. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Bakkerij Wolf is a popular bakery and cafe located in the heart of Amsterdam's nine streets. The bakery offers a variety of freshly baked goods, including delicious croissants and sandwiches. In addition to its excellent coffee, the cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with generous portions. Visitors can enjoy a cozy atmosphere and friendly service while indulging in warm, crunchy croissants and well-seasoned sandwiches.
We had breakfast here and really enjoyed the food — the omelette on sourdough and the shakshuka were both tasty and nicely presented. The coffee was just average, but the overall experience was good. Staff were friendly, and the waiting time wasn’t too long. A cozy spot worth visiting for breakfast and brunch.
Zeynep D — Google review
Highly recommend. I've been here more than once and tried several dishes - the food was always fresh, flavorful and beautifully crafted. You can really tell there's attention to details in every plate. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming which makes the experience even better. I'll definitely come back again.
Gil T — Google review
The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I tried the shakshuka, and it was amazing — adding the spicy sauce gave it a perfect extra flavor. We also tried the flan cake, which was delightful as well. The coffee was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend visiting this place!
Mariam — Google review
Absolutely amazing sourdough, the texture is divine! Very stretchy, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. Highly recommend the za'atar spiced loaf- perfectly balanced between the delicious spice mix without overpowering the subtly flavour of the bread itself, combined with the nuttiness of the sesame seed topping that gives a rich tahini/peanut butter nuttiness :)
Kat — Google review
Great spot, it’s a bakery and resto. They have great breakfast and lunch options. Since they bake their own breads, croissants, etc they are delicious. We went twice in 3 days. Staff is nice and it can get “busier” but we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for a table.
Govind S — Google review
The food is amazing, no matter what you order they really know how to prepared each dish in a way that you can imagine. You can sit or take away, but if you have the time and there is no line, sit and enjoy this amazing place. If you don’t like spicy, asked for the brioche without kimchi and the mayo in a side, you won’t regret!!!
Maria N — Google review
Good location, good seating, which is rare in the area. The bread was good would’ve loved it if they had some toasted options. The buratta one was very refreshing and light. I was very exited for the chicken but the flavor was a little monotone. It was mainly bbq sauce but not really captivating. The cabbage didn’t really add something. Maybe some pickles would be better idk. Also tried the matcha cookie from the bakery sadly that one was dissapointing. Weird texture and not the cookie u would have in mind. But the place has good options and its clear they put a lot of effort. If they would make some tiny adjustments it would be perfect!
Dila K — Google review
Waaay better than the standard hotel breakfast offering. The shakshuka is often mentioned on reviews (it’s good!); try the brioche pork belly kimchi breakfast sandwich for something different.

Fort Negen is a renowned bakery in Amsterdam, known for its innovative and delicious bread and pastries. The man behind the bakery has a background in baking at a popular restaurant, which has contributed to the success of Fort Negen. Located in the De Baarjses neighborhood, it has quickly gained popularity among locals and visitors alike. The bakery offers a variety of unique items such as mango sticky rice cruffin and kaascroissant with ricotta and za'atar.
So.good.! Everything was fabulous. Farmer sourdough loaf was huge and hearty and delicious, I can enjoy it straight up even without butter/oil/any condiments. Perfectly crispy crust, the right amount of chew and slight tang in flavor — truly the loaf of my dream 🥹. Mexican fiesta hartige croissant was (savory, duh) interesting, like eating a burrito in the form of a croissant..? I enjoyed it and I appreciate the creativity 🌯🇲🇽 Cruffin (apple, lemon, jasmine) was a showcase of skills and balance in flavor, covered in sugar but I (surprisingly) didn’t hate it. Jasmine cream was fragrant and light and creamy, in contrast to the tangy lemon compote, and all of this happenings inside a flakey buttery shell. I couldn’t taste any apple but I also might have devoured the whole thing a tad too quickly.. No seatings inside, just a couple of benches on the sidewalk. There’s a line but it moves quickly. Open kitchen which you’d get a sneak peek of what goes behind the scenes. Staff clearly work hard here. As pricey as you’d expect for Amsterdam standard, but for the quality I’ll return in a heartbeat.
Tram B — Google review
Came here and tried the bread pudding which was unfortunately a poor choice. It was just a block of bland stodge! It really had no flavour at all, including the icing on top, which is a shame because I loveee a bread pudding. Maybe a poor pick from our part, hence why I’ve only ducted one star.. All the other pastries looked delightful, service was efficient and the place has a real buzz to it. I’ll be back, just not for the bread pudding 🥲
Rachel T — Google review
Omg,the staff were so friendly and really took good care of the customers. Sometimes when I go to places, I come across employees who are superficial and not genuinely friendly, but Fort Negen was completely different. Their miso cookie, kaas croissant, and of course their almond chocolate croissant are the best!
Burcin B — Google review
4.5/5 The almond croissant has a high butter content, making it crispy and flaky, but the pastry itself is rather flat and the air pockets aren’t very noticeable. There’s a generous amount of almond cream, and it’s not too sweet. I really like it. The cruffin, on the other hand, wasn’t as impressive. The sugar on the outside was a bit too sweet and overpowered the buttery aroma of the pastry, and it wasn’t as crispy as I expected. The filling had more fruit jam than cream.
Syixx F — Google review
A very popular local one! Also you can see a long queue in the shop. They offer many options with bread, pastries, ice cream and others. I wanna have a cruffin but they only serve them on weekends. Instead I took a choco almond croissant and kombucha. The croissant is very different from the ones in France, here they are more crispy, and idk if it’s common the one I bought had two layers. The filling is rich, I can taste so many chocolate. I saw a lot of locals they bought 4 or 5 bags, so I think the bread should be good too! Recommend to come and have a try!
Tiffany T — Google review
Very good bakery with tasty croissants, they also sell bread. The most tasty one was almond-chocolate croissant, the best one i tried so far, i went today to buy one more, but it wasn’t available, and took chocolate one which was also fresh and crispy Cheese croissant and classic ones is also very fresh and tasty, very recommended
Narmin G — Google review
Finally I visited this bakery. The place is cute and the service is high. There is a very good choice of sweet baked goods like cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolate, many types of croissants, gluten free brownies and bread ofc. I took an almond croissant which was good, rich but still a bit on the heavy side for me when it comes to butter.. But this is typically dutch, overall was good, just not my taste completely so I will try something different next time. The brownie was delicious, I will take it again for sure. They bake the goods in front of you and you can see the ladies knitting the dough live from the windows shop

Bakery
Breadwinner, a bakery in Jordaan, is known for its exceptional sourdough bagels. Founded by baker Jon Fairclough, the bakery gained popularity during the pandemic as people lined up to get their hands on freshly baked bagels topped with avocado, pastrami, or cream cheese. Customers praise the friendly staff and the variety of options available for carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans.
Such a great find! Little place hidden away in the streets and nice benches outside to eat your bagels. Their bagels were so flavoursome and they had a variety of bagels to chose from. The jalapeño and cheese one was amazing, the crunch cheese all around the bagel added so much flavour. Both the bagels we got were filled well and tasted great! The staff were really helpful as helping chose which bagel to get and we got them very quickly. Would definitely recommend going if you’re in the area.

Well hellooooo Breadwinner. Okay, I’m sceptic when it comes to bagels 🥯 outside of the US. We have more bagel places in Amsterdam, but let’s call it what it is, those are just bagel shaped breads okay. I’ve been to all other Amsterdam bagel places once and never visited them again. Now Breadwinner, they surprised me bigly(!) You need to understand my reference when I talk bagels. So I am a fan of (top of mind) Bagelsaurus (MA), Broad Nosh (NY), Sunrise (ME) Tastewise Breadwinner comes close to a US bagel, I’d say they are 90% there. There’s a hint of that malty aroma that you need. Texture wise they are 95% there. It’s dense, and chewy. They also toast great, don’t burn, don’t lose their taste or texture. Yet there is something in there that I can’t put my finger on that is not completely bagel. I’m still trying to uncover what that is. That said, stellar bagel. Price wise a bit steep, €3,- is the price of half a bread. A bagel shouldn’t cost more than 2,- per piece. They don’t sell bakers dozens, you just have to buy them per piece. Never tried one of their bagel sandwiches, if I ever do, I’ll add a review. Want a good bagel? Go to these guys, you wont be disappointed, but bring your wallet. FYI not a sit down kind of place, just a few seats. It’s all made fresh, so there could be a wait. People friendly. Not accessible with wheelchair. English speakers. Go enjoy.

My dry sourdough bagel didn’t quite live up to the hype. I ordered the smoked lox and cream cheese (with added tomato and avocado), which looked amazing but needed more seasoning. The lox portion was generous and really tasty though! We arrived later in the afternoon, so I’d l give it another try in the morning when the bagels may be fresher. The staff were nice, and there are benches outside on a sweet street. Maybe worth a visit earlier in the day?

It’s been a couple weeks since we went and I’m still thinking about it! Bagels were a great consistency, nice and chewy and the fillings were delicious!

Best bagels in town - love the Chutney & smoked salmon. The place in Jordaan is so nice to grab and sit and located in a peaceful street near the canals. Sunday rituals ! Our favorite place in Amsterdam for breakfast & core memories here

Delicious bagels, the first ones in Europe that I found to be comparable to the ones in New York. Very much recommend the pastrami and chutney bagels. Their everything seasoning was so good that I bought some immediately.

The best bagels in Amsterdam! The bagels are consistently phenomenal and I am obsessed with the chutney bagel, could not recommend it more!

This is easily the best bagel place in Amsterdam, possibly in all of the Netherlands. The guy who owns it has always been friendly and the staff as well. Easily is a staple for me when I’m back in Amsterdam. Also the pastrami sandwich is (chef’s kiss) great!

Tucked away in a picturesque alley in the heart of Amsterdam, De Laatste Kruimel, which translates to "The Last Crumb" in Dutch, is a popular bakery and lunch spot. The cozy cafe attracts crowds during lunchtime with its delectable offerings such as freshly baked bread, pastries, and an array of delicious sandwiches.
A warm and welcoming café-restaurant where you instantly sense the owners’ love and passion in every detail. They offer plenty of treats and desserts that are mouthwatering and flavorful, a delight both to the eyes and the palate. It truly feels like you’re enjoying the very best homemade sweets. Highly recommended!

Super cosy spot in central Amsterdam without being too crowded in the streets surrounding. Clearly a popular spot since it was so crowded inside though! All of the cakes looked delicious (lots of vegan and gluten free options). We went for a savoury treat this time and the portions!! HUGE! Will definitely be back to try the sweets!

This beautiful little bakery makes the most amazing looking and tasting baked good! The owner and her team efficiently handle the store and it's many many walk in customers. And the food is truly heavenly! Every 10 minutes you can watch a new tray of delicious baked goods being taken across from the kitchen to the display window 🙂

All their products are amazing. You can easily buy the products we tried. The soup of the day was eggplant soup. It may look a bit strange, but it tasted delicious. The service might be a bit slow, but we go there to be calm and relaxed. So it was a very nice experience for us.

AMAZING!! I’m so happy I found this place, we ended up coming back twice! This little place is small on the inside, but they do have an upstairs as well. The windows are lined with fresh pastries and baked goods. Delish!! They have a tiny patio with 3 tables that is right over the canal! Luckily we got to sit there and people watch, while enjoying our breakfast. Coffees were amazing. Baked goods, so fresh and delicious. We ended up eating some sandwich’s as well, tuna melt was excellent. The have homemade jams which we took some home with us! Overall this place was a perfect breakfast/lunch spot

Lanskroon Bakery, a long-standing establishment in Amsterdam, has been delighting customers with its wide array of traditional Dutch delicacies for over 45 years. While the bakery has introduced new recipes over time, it remains renowned for its king-sized stroopwafels, which are flat, chewy waffles filled with gooey syrup.
Delicious stroopwaffel and one of the best I have tried in Amsterdam. The place is very cozy and chill and I will definitely go back again.
Ahmed A — Google review
So glad I went out of my way to buy stroopwafels here before we went home. They aren’t exactly the kind you see in all the other shops. They are more like a very thin spiced biscuit with the caramel inside. And I loved it!
Emily E — Google review
Holy crap this is the best stroopwafel that I had in my life! I wish that I had bought a box to go when I was there. The store is small and quaint, but the stroopwafel is so good. I highly recommend!
Kelly L — Google review
This stroopwafel was honestly the best I’ve ever tried! Perfectly balanced in flavor, not overly sweet, just the right amount of caramel, and so tasty with my coffee. The texture was soft but still had a nice bite to it. A must try if you’re looking for an authentic and delicious treat..
Reem A — Google review
This place makes very good Stroopwafels with honey. The poppy seeds dessert, the ginger almonds and the Oliebll were also very good. There is a place to sit inside and coffee is available. The service isn't the friendliest out there especially towards newcomers. Highly recommended nonetheless.
Joe — Google review
I love this place, they have the best stroopwaffels, great coffee and ice creams. We are always received with a smile and it’s never too crowded.

Lovely bakers and very kindly took an order of Oliebollen from me for mine and my wife's birthday for early October. Excellent taste and also bought some butter cookie pieces. Can't recommend this bakery for sweet treats enough! <3 thank you.
Spencer G — Google review
I heard a lot about their Stroopwafel, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. It was way too hard, super crunchy, cold and pretty much tasteless. Definitely not what I was expecting. And for the price? Totally not worth it. I really don’t get the hype. As someone who’s tried pastries all over Asia and Europe, I can confidently say this was one of the most overrated ones I’ve had in my life. I was expecting something maybe a bit softer (?), warmer, or at least flavorful, but instead, it was just a plain, sugary crunch with no real taste. The cappuccino was also pretty cold, which was really disappointing. As someone who has lived in Italy for years, this felt like a huge disappointment to what a proper cappuccino should be. It’s not just about the taste—it’s about the experience, and serving it lukewarm just ruins it. Not trying to be rude, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are way better options out there for pastries or a sweet breakfast, specially if you already have tried good pastries in other European countries or Asia.

Amazing bakery - we had the Palestinian savory danish and the ham & cheese croissant and it was absolutely delicious. We will be dreaming of the croissant tonight - it tasted exactly how it looked: flaky but not crumbly, buttery, flavorful. The matcha was perfect too. Would be nice if there more possibilities to sit, as there are just a few benches inside and outside - but if kept in mind it is totally fine. We will be back soon! It’s a must try for vegans and non-vegans 💚

The staff were so kind, and I was so happy to discover this fully dairy-free bakery in Amsterdam! 🤤🥰 It felt amazing to finally enjoy such delicious croissants and pastries without having to worry about dairy. The cakes were also absolutely delicious – I truly recommend this place to everyone! 🥰

Dairy allergy safe ✅!!! All vegan bakery. I've been to quite a lot of vegan bakeries at this point, and I'd honestly say the pistachio rose danish here was the best pastry I've ever had. I also got the cheese croissant which was also amazing. I went with my friend two days in a row on our trip because it was that good (and got the pistachio one both days). I'm deathly allergic to dairy so it's always a really nice treat when I can eat at 100% vegan places without my normal allergy anxiety!! But my friend who isn't vegan loved it just as much. The lattes were great as well. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!

Really nice vegan bakery, small variety but they all looked delicious. We had I think 6 different ones which as vegans we can't find in many places, like the croissants. I would have preferred if the cheese croissant had a little more filling, and the same with the pain au chocolat. They were all delicious though, and really reasonable prices. It didn't have many places to sit just two seats outside and one on the inside, so it's more a to go place. Would totally recommend!!

Finally I had for breakfast gluten free croissants, though I'd spent years searching for one as delicious as the one here. The staff girls are lovely, and the prices are super fair. The pistachio muffin was awesome too. Thank you for existing.

Love the croissants here! All gluten free so we got a few to try. The ham and cheese is delicious, very smokey meat which we loved. The original is lovely. We also got the almond which was a bit too sweet for our taste. Also tried the stroopwaffle but wasn't keen. Would love to try the bread rolls as they look very yummy. Busy and small so we got it to take away and went to the park. It was already very busy by 10.30am.

Absolutely delicious! This is one of the best croissants I have ever had (even before the celiac diagnosis). Prices are very reasonable and everything I had was incredible— highly recommended the ham and cheese croissant but you really can’t go wrong. Everything being gluten free is a dream come true! Gluten free croissants are near impossible to find, so happy this exists! Totally worth the trip over here if you are in Amsterdam and are celiac!

This was the best croissant I have ever eaten! And I couldn’t believe it was gluten free! When I took my first bite of the croissant, it was so good that I had to immediately go back inside to double check that it was actually gluten free and then buy a second croissant! I would love to know how they manage to make it so light and delicious! Even my gluten-eating family said it was one of the best croissants they had ever eaten and we had just come from Paris.

We came across this bakery by chance and had to wait about 20 minutes to get in the shop to place an order. There were three ladies working in the bakery at time we visited they did work hard, our coffee was served pretty quickly as well as the delicious food we ordered. Bakery products were fantastic and coffee was tasty too. There are very limited seating available if you'd like to have food & the drink on premises. The day we were there, June 5th happened to be Cafe's birthday they were offering some modest discount on the purchases. Nice food, recommended.

Small little spot and minimalistic vibe but cool in its own way. Was one guy there just making good convo and pouring coffee for each person. Tried this espresso that was super different and had this fruity note to it that I’ve never tried before. Stop by if in the area.

I don't understand how people think this is a cozy place, it's not! It's inhospitable without a character, very unwelcoming. The chairs are very uncomfortable, it's like asking you to leave asap. The only thing they welcome you to do is to give them the tip 😆 The coffee was ok but the slice of cake was horribly dry and I had to throw it away. They keep the cakes outside in this small window. There is no service, you even have to put your dirty cup inside the buckets.

Had such a lovely experience during my visit to Amsterdam while I was traveling from the US. The coffee is delicious! I think it was one of the best flat whites I have ever had. To make things ever better, the baristas were so friendly and patiently explained everything. I went in twice because I enjoyed it so much. The coffee literally tastes like cherries! When I went in- they had different espresso offerings for each day so it was so fun to compare the two flat whites I had. I also got their loaves while I was there. Very moist and delicate. This is probably a coffee shop I will miss dearly
Moon — Google review
Got an iced hojicha on the last day they do iced drinks (27 September). It was good and my first time trying hojicha (tastes like matcha a red bean). But after that date they only do hot which is quite disappointing. The vegan loaves are good. They have a lot of coffee selection as well but no seating and set up of cafe is quite weird but staff is extremely kind.
Federica A — Google review
We loved this place! I had the white chocolate matcha and my partner had a cappuccino, both were amazing. What really stood out was the atmosphere; it felt like we were part of the café rather than just visitors. The space is completely open with no separation between the staff area and where customers sit, it’s like you’re behind the counter with them. That setup, combined with the friendly team and the cool, laid-back vibe, makes it such a special spot. Definitely one of our favorite coffee stops in Amsterdam!
Catherine R — Google review
Rum baba is my neighbourhood coffee shop. I really enjoy this place for a quick to go coffee, they make fantastic flat whites, and they really know their coffee. There is very limited seating, so I have never sat inside and there is other places on the street that provide better and more affordable pasteries so I really see this as a take away coffee spot with some of the best coffee in the city. I have however had mixed results with their beans, I bought a bag of one of their diamond blends and it tasted very chemically flavoured, I couldn't explain it but it was very expensive and I had to throw away most the bag even after serving my friends some. It smelt very strong of almost candy I am not sure what it was. But all of their yellow bag espresso beans are fantastic.
Euro R — Google review
This place really cares about their coffee. Extremely high quality espresso, own roasted beans. Reccomend trying a few different beans and taking some home. This is NOT a brunch restaurant masquerading as a coffee shop, it is somewhere you come for something properly special.

The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff add to the overall experience. While the space may be limited with no indoor seating, the quality of their offerings more than makes up for it.
Very popular bakery! I got there 20 minutes after opening time and there was already a queue outside. Tried the pistachio escargot and the iced coffee. The pastry is excellent, so flaky and fresh. In terms of seating there's only 3-4 seats inside (but if was pretty hot) and a bench outside. As it was very busy I walked around the corner and sat by the side of the canal enjoying my pastry in peace.

These pastries are amazing! Lots of options to choose from. I had their matcha pastry and monthly special, fig tart! Pastry is super flaky and light! The fig tart is heavenly! I need that as standard menu🥹 I do hope they will expand more and with more seating options. Bakery is quite small, but super busy. There wasn’t any place to sit at all.

This small, charming bakery is an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest smiles and genuinely kind customer service. The staff made me feel like I was a regular, even though it was my first visit. Now let’s talk about the croissant—wow. Perfectly golden, buttery, and flaky, it practically melted in my mouth. You can tell it’s made with love and skill. It might just be the best croissant I’ve ever had! The cozy atmosphere, paired with top-notch service and heavenly pastries, makes this place a must-visit. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or lingering over coffee, this little bakery will brighten your day. Highly recommend!

It was really good and it’s definitely over the bakery average of Amsterdam! I had the pain au chocolat and I found it too cook/dry so a bit expensive for this quality. I also had the pistachio escargot and that was excellent! The limonade was a bit too sweet for me. I ll definitely come back but overall I think it’s quite expensive for what you get!
Adèle B — Google review
Loved their strawberry mint tart and special bostock! Highly recommended location ! Their chocolate croissant is also delicious. Their almond raspberries croissant was amazing as well, I forgot to take a photo.

Croissant: buttery, crispy on the outside, and chewy inside. So good! Cappucino: I barely see any cafe use ethiopia for milk base cofee, but i love it! The bright acidity and freshness add a unique twist you don’t get from nuttier profiles. Lemon hazelnut tart: I would say this is my favorite! Never imagine that hazelnut and lemon would pair so well. Nutty and zesty. The pistachio escargot looks amazing too. Definitely back to try it next time.

I used to love this place, but I was very disappointed upon returning after a year. The almond croissant and pistachio escargot were dry and lacked any filling. The pain au chocolat was slightly better but still didn’t taste fresh. It feels like they are not using high quality ingredients. It’s unfortunate to see that many places in Amsterdam seem to let their quality decline once they become popular.

My go to in Amsterdam, and for a good reason! The cinnamon brioche is my guilty pleasure alongside their coffee which is good and consistent. I love the fact that everything is sourdough, so naturally their bread is also divine! Always a joy to sit in if you are lucky enough to snag a seat 🤎☕️

love their (milk-based) coffee and the chill atmosphere but i write this review because i just tried their rye choco cookie today and it is a-ma-zing. chewy chocolatey with the perfect amount of salt. my only regret is i only bought one and seems like they don't make it every day. 🤣

I have to say everything is very good, except for the cinnamon and cardamon rolls ( dry and tasteless). But I'm giving 5 stars because the bread, baguette, gallettes, cheesecake, sandwiches, salami, eggs are sooo good! 😍 The bread + baguette have a good crunchy crust + soft inside. Hard to find something like this in Amsterdam. Good coffee too.

I did not plan to go here, but I felt an amazing pastry and bread smell while passing by and now I can not stop going here 🥺🥺 Amsterdam is a city that has a real shortage of good bakeries so this is a true gem! And their canneles are to die for 🥰 They also have an interesting selection of wines

Have A Roll is a popular bakery that originated in Antwerp and has now expanded to Amsterdam. The shop offers a variety of tasty vegan rolls, with at least six different flavors available. While the prices are above 4 EUR, the quality of the rolls is fresh, although some feel that the dough could be fluffier due to the egg substitute used.
Great pistacchio roll! - It was tasty and delicious! They have a quite wide range of buns, like cinnamon, biscoff, cookies, coffee and more! - 4,30€ for the special rolls I think it’s rather normal - Atmosphere inside is okay, nothing very special but okay colours and aesthetic. There is a bench outside that fits probably 3 maybe 4 people so don’t count too much on sitting there, especially if weekend and sunny - Location in the very pretty de Pijp and also close to the Amstel area, love that vibe - The girl working there was kind and smiling, good to see! Recommended!

I bought yesterday a box of 6 cinnamon roll, it looked delicious but unfortunately they all tasted the same. It's very very sweet, full of sugar in the roll and the icing. Even my young daughter that loves sweets couldn't finish half a cinnamon roll. Really disappointing.. 😔
Maayan C — Google review
So delicious! Couldn’t believe they were vegan! They are soft but not airy- which makes them so filling and delicious, unlike Cinnabon or American cinnamon rolls I’ve had, that just felt like you ate air a second after, which made it super unsatisfying even while eating, but not like that with these! Some flavors we loved more and some less, but definitely would come again. I loved the original one the best!!

Every now and then I get surprised by a vegan bakery. I've never had a good vegan cinnamon roll before. But leave it to the wonderful bakers at Have a Roll to change my mind. This was a great experience and I loved the rolls we had. The apple pie topping was so unique and delicious. I highly recommend you stop here if you're in Amsterdam and grab a delicious Cinnamon Roll!

Fantastic cinnamon buns, probably the best in Amsterdam out of all cinnamon rolls i tried. They made it fresh, and nothing can exceed the taste of freshly baked bun in a winter rainy day. Go with the original roll, it’s already so good, if you want something different, I would recommend pistachio or pecan mixed. Besides that i have to give them a credit for a really nice, welcoming service and excellent store design.

I LOVE these cinnamon rolls. Yes, you can skeptical about “vegan cinnamon rolls” but these are the real deal. They have a good variety of flavours and they are too sweet, they are the right amount of sweet and natural. Go to your nearest Have a Roll ASAP!

Bakery
Bakkerij Mater is a beloved family-owned bakery in the lively De Pijp neighborhood, known for its delectable sourdough-based treats and commitment to sustainability. Visitors rave about their perfect breads, croissants, and cinnamon rolls that are described as warm, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The bakery's inviting atmosphere and excellent coffee add to the overall experience. Patrons also appreciate the baker's expertise and the artistic ambiance of the bakery.
It's a completely different level of bakery! Very cool that everything is made with sourdough. The perfect taste of baking. Now only here I want to eat a cinnamon roll and pan chocolat.
Nataliia S — Google review
The place is really small so better takeaway. The cinnamon bun was really good, very moist and heavy, not like usual cinnamon buns you know! It’s 3.95 per piece though, so not really cheap taking into account its size😅 but what I didn’t like most was a guy at the counter. Very unfriendly and when I asked him about their products he answered like I should have known it and I felt like he wanted me gone as fast as possible, not nice vibes.
Марина — Google review
I had a croissant and a cinnamon bun, and they were both excellent I really enjoyed them. This is a lovely little bakery and café. However, I feel the staff could be a bit more polite and welcoming. The woman who took my order and made my coffee was quite rude, unfortunately. Also, the coffee cup I received was extremely dirty, and so was the saucer it looked used. I couldn’t drink from it. When I asked if it could be changed, she simply poured the same coffee into a different cup, which felt like a terrible joke. It was really disappointing. She should have made a fresh cup of coffee instead. No matter how good the food is, I don’t think I’ll be coming back after this experience.
Hümeyra K — Google review
The bread is decent (if still standard Amsterdam prices for sourdough, ie expensive). The pastries are baffling. The quality is good, but they have gotten comically tiny over time. The danish has space remaining for one small piece of fruit. The croissants are the length of a finger. They all still cost 3-5 euros. Only the cheese stick would take more than two bites to eat, and that's very much a length issue rather than a heft issue. The paper bag policy is absolutely unique, kind of like they are morally judging you for ordering more than one thing, which is a) very funny given the size of most things they sell and b) an interesting attitude for a bakery business to hold. If you aren't willing or able to pack multiple products together into the one container, maybe don't snidely charge people for the additional bag(s). Also, if your paper bag supplier is charging you so much that your business will fail if you don't charge 20c for each, then you need a new bag guy. Or probably more accurately - if you feel the need to make a 1000% profit on your paper bags, then forgive me for being extra unsympathetic when you're also trying to convince me that a few square centimetres of pastry is worth 4 euros. 3 stars because those brief, fleeting bites are quite good, and because I guess you need to reward innovation for its own sake in today's fast paced business environment.

Omg honestly THE best cinnamon buns I have ever had! So buttery and flaky! The croissants were to die for as well! Haven’t tasted their bread but everything looks so good.

Great fresh pastries and bread 🥐🍞 Highly recommend the croissant met jam en boter – perfect Saturday morning treat, simple and delicious ✨

OK, I went to purchase one croissant but after sampling a bite I realized things had changed. I came out with seven awesome purchases: a loaf of wonderful, moist beautifully textured rye bread, an almond croissant, a cinnamon bun, a raisin bun, a plain croissant and a gorgeous dessert pastry. I have sampled each one and each one is spectacular. This place is into serious perfection. Enjoy!
Donna H — Google review
The best cinnamon rolls I had in my life! Without exaggeration, and I eat a lot of cinnamon rolls everywhere. Warm, flaky, not too sweet, full of flavor. Out of this world. And what’s even better, the coffee was great too. Sometimes you find a bakery that has good pastry, but average coffee- not here. I was so pleasantly surprised. Veeery good cheese stick too, what a nice little discovery!

Rose and Vanilla is a charming cake cafe located in Oud-West, offering a delightful range of gluten-free and lactose-free treats. Previously available only in organic supermarkets, this establishment now welcomes visitors to enjoy their delicious offerings in a beautiful setting. Guests can savor lunch, coffee, and slices of cake while basking in the inviting atmosphere. While some patrons have praised the cozy ambiance and friendly service, others have noted minor areas for improvement such as labeling desserts with descriptions and prices.
Cozy atmosphere, very friendly service, the cakes were delicious. Bread with spreads and granola bowl were very nice. The coffee was excellent. And all gluten free without compromising flavours.

The vibes here are simply immaculate. Very elegant & peaceful seating by the garden (none outside though). 90% of delicacies are vegan/gluten-free, and they all taste more delicious than the next. Perfectly balanced and not at all too sweet. 🍰 The chai is to die for & actually quite spicy, just how we like it. 🍵 Enjoy & savour the moment 🥹✨

Nice little coffee shop. Very quiet, we were the only customers mid afternoon. Had a ginger beer, black tea and a little raspberry cheesecake to share. Came to around £8.50. Cake was gluten free, all the desserts are labelled with allergens. Nice but wouldn't go out my way to go again.

This lovely cafe has a wide selection of gluten and dairy free cakes. They come in a varying of styles,, tastes and sizes. There is an amazing selection from fruity to chocolatey and nutty cakes are available - we enjoyed the lemon and coconut cheese cake and the Mocha and Hazelnut ones, but they all looked amazing! The hazelnut chocolate nougat as a little extra with our coffee was a lovely extra. Recommendation for a small coffee break during a city stroll in Amsterdam.

Lovely cafe with a wide selection of vegan cakes. They come in different sizes. All from fruity to chocolatey and nutty cakes are available - we tasted like 8 different ones, they all where amazing! But hazelnut nougat was our favorite for sure. Recommendation for a small coffee break during a city stroll in Amsterdam.

Delicious gluten free pastry place with great coffee. Don’t be stopped by the gluten free part - sometimes people think they’ll have to sacrifice taste for healthy option - not in this case. For something more substantial, indulge in the flavorful Ricotta & grilled veggies sourdough baguette.
Such a gorgeous bakery with freshly baked breads and pastries at a great price. The staff are lovely and recommended various products for me to try. My personal favourite was the spelt loaf - what a delicious bread! The coffees here were also top tier. If I lived closer I’d come every day!

Adorable cozy little bakery with plenty of lovely garden seating. The croissants are amazing, great coffee too, and importantly the service is super warm and relaxed. Also tried a tiny bit of the grilled Cuban sandwich (from my brother) and it was just delicious, definitely will have to come back to get it myself. Highly recommend Stadsbakkerij As !

Absolutely perfect baguettes, I’ve never found one I’ve loved this much! Really perfect for grabbing something small and either enjoying it there in the garden or taking away to picnic nearby. Loved the cheese sandwich and definitely would recommend the olive baguette.
Kaitlyn K — Google review
Consistently excellent sourdough breads and sweet and savoury bites with no concessions in the quality. Cordial, relaxed and thoughtful service. The batard and the olive bread are favourites, the house butter 5*, variety of ferments and jams. Very good bread flour. Go early on Saturday, they sell out ☺️
Niki L — Google review
I recently started to try some of the bread options here and I have a couple of comments - they expect you to buy the whole bread where other bakeries you can have half or even quarter when the size is too big. Can you just simply cut in two and sell? - the olive baguette was very salty I mentioned when I was buying bread another time but received no reaction I hope they can improve the above items, as I am fond of trying good places selling sourdough bread.

Cozy place, but average food. They have a nice concept of paying for 2,3 or 4 dishes and choosing anything from the menu. Good opportunity to try various things from the menu. Portions aren’t big, which explains lower prices. I think it’s still a good value for your money. But food isn’t outstanding- in the end, it’s a simple brunch place, no stylish- fancy- servings. Their sandwiches look just like… sandwiches :)

Little Collins De Pijp is a friendly and inviting brunch spot run by Aussies Charlotte and Georgina. The bright and cheerful decor, along with accommodating service, creates a welcoming atmosphere. Located just away from the typical hustle and bustle of De Pijp, it's the perfect place to slow down and enjoy inventive cocktails alongside comfort food choices.
Should you find yourself seeking a change from avocado toast and poached eggs, this establishment is certainly worth considering! Little Collins presents a delightful array of unique and flavorful brunch selections. The cuisine is exceptionally fresh and so delicious. Situated in the Pijp, it enjoys considerable popularity and can become quite busy. The only potential drawback is that some tables are positioned rather closely together, which might occasionally lead to a less-than-ideal experience if seated near loud people.
Cetty D — Google review
I honestly can’t put into words what I tasted here, it completely blew me away. We ordered the dish with labneh and another with braised beef. Both were distinctive and incredibly delicious, with flavors so rich they truly move you as you eat. Perfectly seasoned, full of depth. The chef deserves a promotion. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but worth every single cent.
María B — Google review
Our second time here, this time trying the salmon after having beef before – both were excellent! It’s a lovely spot for a couple sharing and exploring new dishes together. A bit on the pricey side, but perfect if you split one main and a dessert, like the Basque cheesecake we had for breakfast – such a treat. From the outside the place looks simple, yet the dishes have real charm and a unique twist. Definitely keen to return and discover more. 🍰🐟🥩
Andrei B — Google review
Had brunch today at Little Collins, and it was a long-time coming visit. You can’t book a table here, and it’s always quite popular, so it’s tough to get a spot. Luckily, we were in the area around 10 and found a table free, so we hopped right in. The vibe was super pleasant. Service was great. Nothing over the top, but friendly, kind, smiling staff and pretty quick too. We didn’t have to wait ages for anything. We ordered two cappuccinos, a fresh juice, and both of us had poached eggs with labneh, roasted tomatoes, and seeds. Absolutely delicious. The flavors were balanced and everything tasted just right. I spotted a few other dishes around: shakshuka, some French toast, and a kind of salmon eggs Benedict with hollandaise. Everything looked tasty, but I’m glad I picked what I did—it seems to be the popular choice for a reason. We spent about 49 euros in total, which felt reasonable. As a dessert lover, I did check out their sweets, and while they didn’t instantly call to me, maybe I was just too full to give them a fair shot. They might be great, but they just didn’t look like must-try items at first glance. Overall, good experience, nice food, friendly service, and worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Attila B — Google review
We went here on a sunny weekday, and since it was busy, we had to wait a bit. There’s a QR code at the door where you can drop your name, see the waiting time, and go for a walk or grab a coffee nearby while you wait. Food-wise, it’s definitely a treat. The flavors are rich, the portion was enough for me but can see people be challenging it. It’s not your everyday brunch. Prices are on the higher side, but honestly quite standard for Amsterdam 🤷🏼‍♀️ The only downside was the service. Drinks and the check took a while, and the overall pace on the logistics side could be improved. Still, the taste really made up for it, and I’d say it’s worth visiting if you’re looking for a brunch spot that feels a bit more indulgent
Seli — Google review
Fabulous brunch place! Insanely delish food (corn fritters!), service leaves you alone to chat with your friends and doesn’t chase you away when you are done. Nice to sit outside protected from potential rain or sun.

We enjoyed our brunch. Order the kimchi potato cake and the labneh poached eggs. Both hit the spot. Lovely cafe. Would definitely visit again.
Samanvay K — Google review

One of my favorite coffee spots in the center of Amsterdam. Bocca is super cosy, with plenty of comfortable seating options, perfect for catching up with friends or just relaxing. I had a flat white, and it was just how I like it: strong and well-made. It had a slightly sour note, which isn’t quite my thing, but that’s definitely a personal preference. The barista was friendly, added a lovely latte art, and served it all with a smile. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have also bought their beans for home brewing – always great quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solid coffee stop with a chill vibe in the heart of Amsterdam.
Vladimir D — Google review
We found Bocca via Google as it had high ratings in the area. Personally, I couldn’t see the hype for it. A huge, huge space for a coffee shop. It felt more like a university cafe. I had a hot chocolate and whilst they spend a good time and effort on your drinks, the hot chocolate was not that great. This was evidenced with all the big bits of chocolate at the bottom of my mug at the finish. A nice little stop to warm us up but not the most cosy and warm, especially with people leaving the door open every 10 seconds. Thank you for our experience. 💫

Nestled conveniently near Amsterdam Central Station, Croque Madame Gluten Free Food is a delightful gem for those seeking 100% gluten-free options. This charming café may be small and often bustling, so it's wise to plan your visit accordingly. While they don’t offer takeaway, the menu boasts an impressive array of elevated gluten-free dishes—from scrumptious burgers to crunchy toast and delectable snacks.
This place is a gem, especially for gluten-free travelers, but it's also a great option if you're just craving a good burger, gluten-free or not. It's very accessible in downtown Amsterdam, and without a doubt, it served the best gluten-free burger I've ever had from a restaurant. As Albertans, we’re used to exceptional beef, and this burger really hit the spot. It was perfectly made, juicy, and flavorful. The staff were also incredibly kind and understanding about gluten-free dietary needs. They really get the challenges of traveling with gluten restrictions, which is exactly why they opened the restaurant in the first place. Plus, the prices were super reasonable—especially since we're used to much higher prices for gluten-free foods. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious, safe gluten-free meal or just a great burger!

This is a 100% gluten free restaurant, that serves also dairy free and vegan options. All sauces and dressings are vegan, and they have vegan cheese. The food was amazing! Really delicious. We had a hamburger, a mexican toast and a sandwich with vegan cheese and a vegan carrot cake. Hamburger bun was really good, you would not make a difference of this and a wheat bun. The staff was really welcoming and friendly. I recommend this place for all celiacs, vegans and if you have gluten free or dairy free diet.

Lunch time gets busy fast, but you can always take it to-go if seating is full. One of the only gluten true free spots in Amsterdam!

Super delicious safe food. We tried classic burger, cheese burger and chicken burger, very moist and full of flavours. What is more their souces are milk free, so lactose intolerant people can enjoy without stress. All recommendations!
Ivana I — Google review
Great option for a no-stress gluten free lunch. Everything is gluten free, so a real bonus. The menu is quite limited (a few burgers, baguettes, toasted sandwiches and cakes), but what we had tasted delicious. We both went for toasties.. My wife had a Caprese (mozzarella, tomato, olives and pesto) and I had a Croque Madam (ham and cheese, topped with a fried egg). They came with a small side salad. We also decided to try their cakes. As with the main menu, there was nothing fancy, but that were well worth it. Tucked away on a side street, it’s easy to miss, but well worth finding.

Nestled just a couple of bridges away from the iconic Oude Kerk and on the edge of Chinatown, Sugar and Spice Bakery is a delightful haven for vegans. This charming little bakery offers an impressive array of vegan delights, including grilled vegetable sandwiches topped with creamy vegan cheese and mouthwatering BLTs featuring grilled tofu strips as a bacon substitute. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, complemented by attentive staff who genuinely care about their customers' dietary needs.
Thanks a lot !!! It was very comfortable time to stay here. A lady was very friendly and careful. She offered me small croissant after baking and second tea for free. I ordered tea and sausage roll . Took out croissant with ham and cheese and apple cake . Everything is homemade and tasty !! During stay in Amsterdam, I felt the cosiest time there !!!

Such a nice, tiny place. Many vegan options. We had chocolate cake and cheesecake, both vegan, and both made us seriously doubt whether they are really vegan because of the genuine taste! But that was indeed vegan and so delicious and beautifully presented, portions are really satisfying. Coffee was tasty, too, nice homely, imperfect vibe. Very refreshing. People there really take care of customers :)

Nice tiny place with lovely and kind owner. Lots of vegan options (be sure to ask, not everything is clearly stated as vegan on the menu, there are more options than showed). I tried a sandwich with tofu strips, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese. And had the vegan carrot cake. My mother tried a sandwich with grilled vegetables and a vegan and gluten free orange cake. Everything was really nice and the cake was devine! Will definitely come back here!

What a yummy Vegan Shoarma they made 😍 the photo shows one because I ate the other, so positively surprised to see 2 sandwiches in my plate!

My girlfriend is lactose intolerant, vegetarian & is on medication so she really has to be careful what she eats, & so many places insist they are vegan then aren't! This little cafe was absolutely brilliant. The staff were attentive, friendly, helpful & honest. The service was great & the food presentation & quality was of an exceptional standard! We really were impressed, they clearly take great pride in their establishment. The atmosphere was lovely too :) highly recommend it!
Rob M — Google review
Do not eat at this place - they sell moldy food. I went to this place on Thursday 20.6.2019 and bought some pastries to take away for myself and some colleagues. All the pastries tasted stale and not fresh. However, the worst part was that one pastry had actual mold inside. You could not see it from the outside but the whole inside was already green and moldy. Fortunately my colleague only took one bite and hopefully won't get sick. After going back to the bakery the same day and confronting the staff, the waitress was shocked about what I told her. She said that management buys the pastries and she will inform them about it. I demanded to receive a confirmation about this and left my phone number. However, after three days I still did not hear from anybody. I paid 12€ for stale and moldy products and management is apparently not interested in fixing those issues. Do not eat here!

This is a hidden gem for someone who grew up in the city center of Amsterdam. Lovely local owners and good coffee / food. Very flexible and not uptight or like those fast boys and girls who take over the city center right now and take away it's soul and charm. This is still authentic and very much enjoyable!

Nina's and Marisol's fine bakery is a great place to order pastries for any occasion. The sweet treats are always fresh and delicious, and their selection is vast. I highly recommend ordering from Amsterdam Baking Company - ONLINE WEBSHOP!
This place is a true gem in Amsterdam, along with its twin shop at the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 291, it serves an amazing ever-changing variation of truly mouthwatering Argentinian empanadas and all kinds of top-shelf pastries, as well as fantastic ice-cream and specialties like alfajores in every possible interpretation. Five star baking expertise and the warmest of smiles to welcome everyone. A must-visit, but above all, a must-repeat weekly.

The staff in the shop were very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back if I ever visit Amsterdam again. 5 star ps. The cake was great too

Amazing bakery, so different from what you usually find in Amsterdam. Handcrafted cookies, pastries and croissants. Coffee is great too! I saw as well the sell hand made ice cream and sorbets. Delicious sweets in stylish atmosphere!

Very nice! Had 2 empanadas (spicy meat and cheeseburger) and they were both very tasty. Tender but crunchy crust and very juicy filling that was perfectly seasoned. Had the classic alfajor too and that was very nice as well. Generous amount of filling and nice play of textures.
Klaas B — Google review
The best alfajores and medialunas outside Argentina. I ordered twice form this place. In the beginning the price was preventing me from buying, however I can tell that the quality is impressive. You bet I will order once a month :) As a suggestion I would recommend a small gift box with 4 alfajores with a note

BBROOD is a charming bakery that offers a welcoming atmosphere and delicious bread. The interior decor provides a nice setting to relax, work, or enjoy some soothing music while savoring their unique and tasty croissants. The staff is friendly and the place is clean and cozy. Although there were some cleanliness issues in one area, the overall experience was delightful. In addition to their great bread selection, they also serve excellent coffee and sweet treats.
Sunday morning almond croissant and a cappuccino. Freshly baked croissant a decent cup of coffee. It’s really a grab and go kind of place - no plates / glasses. Decor is very NDSM…industrial. There was a queue (probably because the flea market was on), it wasn’t overly busy, but could do with a few extra tables. Overall, good quality and nice friendly staff.

The bread and coffee we got were pretty meh, the coffee was super bland, and the bread was nothing to write home about. Honestly, the only reason I’d recommend this spot is ‘cause it’s close to the ferry and if you’re starving. Otherwise, you can skip it.

I came here to get a coffee and a pastry for breakfast. The cafe was nice and spacious. The staff were nice and spoke English. There were many options for pastries, but not as many for coffee. My coffee and pastry were good. The seating was limited and not everyone in my group had a chair to sit on.
Brody H — Google review
Lovely bakery with excellent coffee and delicious pastries. There’s a small seating area inside, and restrooms are available. The staff are exceptionally friendly, speak English, and give you plenty of time to choose—no rush at all. The coffee is wonderfully rich in flavor, and the pastries are just as delightful. A truly welcoming spot!

Great neighborhood bread bakery with amazing coffee! The smell with definitly bring you in! My go to is the cappuccino with oat milk. All of their breads are sourdough breads which are produced by sustainable soil and organic products. They have a great selection of assorted breads, croissants, small pastries and toasties. During the winter months they also offer, Amandel gevulde koeken (almond paste filled cookie) a Dutch cookie that is amazing! They also sell coffee beans and their signature oatmilk, which is so much better than any grocery store oatmilk. The staff is accomodating and helpful. It can get busy during weekends and holidays, but they do a great job keeping up fresh product and getting orders out quickly. Its great for dine-in or takeway. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Amazing spot, truly one of my favorites in Oost. Beautiful and cozy atmosphere, delicious homemade goods and perfect coffee. I often go there to work a bit or to simply sit and enjoy my afternoon lunch coffee. One disappointing aspect though: the staff is surprisingly indifferent/rude at times. I’m usually not one to mind too much about these things but I’ve received the same treatment each time I went, so I thought it be best to mention :) Otherwise, a gem of a spot!

This place is absolutely awesome, as I walked in my eyes took a second to process everything going on. It’s a huge and absolutely lovely space to be in, with some upstairs seating, a big baking area and what looked like an outdoor seating area through the kitchen. There were plenty of options to pick from, croissants, pain au chocolates etc but I thought I’d go for the recommended raspberry and pistachio cake. The centre of the cake was crumbly and fruity, and that little dusting of crushed pistachios adding that little “joie de vivre”. The crust was firm and a bit crunchy meaning it didn’t fall to bits after the first bite. Complemented with a strong artisanal coffee (that really woke me up) this made for a great start to the day. Thanks for the recommendation on the cake, and for lovely and efficient service in a busy bakery. Wow!

"et CLAIRE" is a unique and classy French-style pastry shop that offers high-quality, freshly made pastries every day. The store exudes a beautiful retro vibe and provides a lovely ambiance for enjoying their delicious offerings. From sweet to savory, vegetarian to meat-filled, the pastries are all very tasty. While there are only a few seats inside, it's the perfect place to savor a crunchy croissant and fresh coffee.
Our family of 5 tried just about everything on the pastry menu for the day, and everything was excellent. Wow, we were quite impressed! And we are not easily impressed. Every croissant on the menu is perfectly flaky, and the flavor complimented each other beautifully. The vibe is very cute but we just wished there was more seating.

the pastries look amazing and i believe there is a lot of work behind them. i missed the more intense flavour of the butter..the coffee was honestly pretty average, the madeleine was good

I orders two pastries, they were quite okay, the strawberry, was a bit burned, but crispiness was still there. Anyways I liked the matcha, it has a very strong taste. But besides that I didn’t like the vibe of the people who were working there. They looked quite cold and it felt genuinely a bit awkward.

Really nice aesthetic place, coffee was good, however the pastries that we tried were not the best. Our order: pistacchio bun, cheesecake and flat white coffee. Price: 15.8€ The pistacchio bun had a vivid taste of yeast and you could feel that the dough wasn’t grown enough. The cheesecake was not fresh.
Anna L — Google review
Visited here yesterday and really enjoyed their range of baked goods. I didn’t really like the pistachio cookie as it was just pistachio on top rather than a filling inside the cookie but did enjoy the cinnamon sugar donut, which was similar to a sweet pretzel or like a churro as a donut. It was a comfortable and cosy experience and really liked their matcha as well, it had a good balance of umami and slight tinge of sweet and in general would recommend this place to people to come and check it out.
Aiyana S — Google review
Very cute atmosphere with warm, friendly staff! The cakes, cookies, pastries, and especially the brownie are to die for! The brownie was super good, not dry and wonderfully chocolaty. This is a vibrant bakery with limited seating for dining in, they offer some outdoor benches which will be nice if it is not raining. I enjoyed my special cheese and cranberry sauce sandwich; they complement each other perfectly. This bakery is definitely worth another visit for their pastries!

Nice bakery! - The reason why I don’t give 5 stars is that I don’t go crazy for their options, like the type of pastries they propose. I do recognise they’re tasty and good quality but I tend to like slightly different options in a bakery - Prices are okay! - Location is in oud west close to busy areas of the city and its well connected - the atmosphere inside is 10/10 because the aesthetic and interiors are absolutely great, really loved the vibe there. There are some seats and it was great to be reading there - staff was friendly! Maybe for my taste it’s not my cup of tea as a bakery but I know it’s still very popular and of high quality

Inspired by a Sourdough starter bakkerij louf began in 2022, the first location opened by friends soon yielding two more with each retaining its focus on careful craftsmanship plus good Ingredients served in a comfortable space. Open from 08h00 to 15h00, the oud-west storefront an ideal place to sit outside during summer, choices come both sweet and savory though personal predilections lean into items such as a beautiful spiral Cardamom Roll with butter bolstering the aromatics. Connecting with local farmers for Meats and Produce, the toppings to Sandwiches on Sourdough, louf’s “Honey Bun” takes that starter and sweetens it slightly beneath a crust with good chew in stark contrast to the shattering Pain au Chocolat. Not ignoring more interesting items, a Cookie with big chunks of Chocolate finding new heights thanks to Sesame Seeds, fans of Shortbread will fall head over heels for Gateau Breton made just as it is in Brittany.

Ulmus Bakery in Amsterdam-West is a hidden gem known for its delectable sourdough bread and irresistible pastries. The bakery's cruffins are particularly popular, but their entire selection of treats is mouthwatering, featuring flavors like saffron and blood orange. Using less processed flour types T65 and T110 gives their viennoiseries a unique taste that sets them apart from other bakeries.
This is one of my all time favourite bakeries. Everything is fresh, looks incredible and is so tasty, I'm at a loss for words. The coffee is very good and I love that you can see the whole process of bling the goods. I will be coming here every time I'm visiting Amsterdam.

We came to buy some pastries. It was busy, so we had to wait. No problem. Some of the staff passed down the counter, but none said something. Then, after a couple of minutes, finally one said hi and asked us to wait. Couple of minutes later a girl showed up to take our order. Not a greeting of anything. Only an annoyed sounding "ja...". I asked her the flavours of the pastries. She answered briefly. My bf ordered what he want and than I did. We payed and she only packed my order. See picture... she simply took it and threw it in the paper bag. Next time one of the other shops around, with the same quality of pastries, better price, way nicer staff, and decent packing of the pastries.

The best almond croissant in Amsterdam! It has more than enough, rich filling in a warm, crunchy croissant. Their sourdough bread is also very authentic, and made 100% of sourdough starter. It was still fresh after a couple of days. The interior is very simple, you could also follow the baking the process. They have outside benches to enjoy your pastries under the sun. ☀️ staff is also very kind and helpful, I can highly recommend this bakery, even if it is not located in the city center, totally worth to try it.

Delicious pastries, but service was disappointing. My friend’s coffee took 30 minutes to arrive so we had to drink without her. Staff were chatting with friends, ignored us, and were rather rude. They refused loyalty stamps for all 3 coffees, one stamp per order apparently. Which is the first time I’ve heard that, and I collect loyalty cards all over the Netherlands. Tables weren’t cleaned and there were crumbs everywhere. Tasty, but I won’t be back, plenty of other bakeries around.

Van Stapele Koekmakerij is a renowned bakery nestled in Amsterdam's city center, celebrated for its iconic creation - the Van Stapele cookie. Crafted by Vera van Stapele, this delectable treat features a crispy dark chocolate dough enfolding a luscious white chocolate filling, delivering an exquisite blend of textures and flavors. Despite being high-end, these cookies are priced at around two euros each and are freshly made for every customer.
This cookie place is always the best, hands down! Every time we visit Amsterdam, it’s a must-see. The line is insane, especially on weekends. Back in the day, they had an online ordering system, which made things faster. But they moved to a bigger place and no longer take online orders. However, the line moves pretty quickly. After years of waiting, I’m glad the quality is still the same! Each cookie costs €3, but they also sell packs of 6 or 8 cookies. So, is it worth the wait? Absolutely! P.S.: Don’t forget to grab some extras and put them in the fridge for next time!

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and smiles, the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The cookies? Absolutely next-level. Absolutely amazing! This is the kind of tourist trap that aren’t trapping 🤣 you deserve the hype! Their chocolate cookie (their only cookie) is amazingggggg even when you queue (the queue always look so long, but they’re actually so fast!) you can smell the good stuff there! It is sooooo soft in the middle, with white chocolate melting inside, and crisp on the outsidee oh God i LOVE♥️ and please eat it while it’s hot cause it’s 20000 times betterr! But don’t worry they give a very detailed way to reheat your cookie at home 🤭👍🏻 (1 cookie = 3€, 6 cookie = 15€)

So, so, so delicious! Definitely worth trying and even worth the wait. I missed out on getting a cookie on my first visit because I arrived about an hour before closing and they had already sold out. So the second time, I went 30 minutes before opening. There were only 5 to 6 groups ahead of me, but by the time it opened, around 15 to 20 groups were in the queue. I was the second one to go in and bought a box of cookies for a friend and one for myself. The cookies were amazing. The white chocolate inside added a nice twist and gave the flavor more depth. Service was fast, and you can watch the whole baking process, which makes the experience even better. 🍪🍪

Phenomenal cookie. Stopped by on a Friday morning to finally try “the best cookie in Amsterdam.” I got there about ten minutes before opening, and there were already 10–15 people in line. While waiting, I watched the bakers through the window. White aprons, trays of dough, golden decors, chocolate everywhere, and the whole scene felt straight out of one of those candy-factory montages from old movies. Once inside, the process was simple. They sell only one kind of cookie, so you just choose how many (up to two dozen per person) and whether you want them in a tin or a paper box. Since I was flying them home, I went for the tin, which seemed to be what most people did. The staff were incredibly kind. One of them even handed me the last warm cookie from the tray for free. The cookie was simple but a perfect mix of dark chocolate batter with a core of white valrhona chocolate. It had that deep roasty aroma that lingered without bitterness, and it wasn’t too sweet. I’ll admit, I’ll always measure cookies against the ones my mom baked when I was a kid, but this was the closest I’ve come to that memory of a “perfect chocolate cookie.” They even include reheating instructions, and sure enough, once I pan-warmed them back home, they somehow got even better. My only regret was not getting the full two dozen.
Jea K — Google review
Simply the best cookie we have ever had. The white chocolate filling was so creamy, and fits perfectly within the soft and rich cookie. It’s no wonder the shop continues to draw the crowds with just one item on its menu!
WL L — Google review
My friends and I just happened to walk pass after shopping at Bijenkorf Amsterdam. The queue was long but we still joined in the queue. There’s only one item to purchase yet, it’s so popular. The cookie making at the workshop was an essential part for me while waiting in the queue. While my turn to purchase, the cashier worked efficiently to pack and done. Taste wise, it was good and I adored the texture if the cookies, it’s crunchy on the outside and little chewy on the inside. Not too sweet but that’s excellent for me.
Chelsea Y — Google review
Apparently, this is the must-try cookie shop in Amsterdam, so of course we had to check it out. We even skipped dessert at Bistro de la Mer just so we could try these famous cookies! When we arrived, the line was super long—but it moved really fast. It was actually fun watching the cookie makers through the window as they molded the dough by hand and pressed chunks of white chocolate into the center. Kind of like the see-through kitchen you see at Din Tai Fung, if you know what I mean. The cookies were warm, chewy, and definitely tasty. But honestly, they didn’t blow my mind. If I bake cookies at home and eat them fresh out of the oven, they’re also warm and chewy—so this didn’t feel too different. Still, it was fun to try once and worth the experience. Four cookies cost €12—not exactly cheap—but the packaging is cute, and the shop itself has a great vibe. Overall, glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

MY NEW FAVORITE SPOT IN AMSTERDAM! I felt like Amsterdam center is full of touristic spots or super fancy restaurants. This was perfect - the location : secluded, hidden, beautiful atmosphere. Went for drinks out in the sun but also to dinner one evening and the food was super well thought out and so tasty. Will definately come back next time i’m in town ❤️‍🔥

It's a vegetarian restaurant( I'm not a vegetarian) prices are reasonable, portions are good size, and the dishes were interesting. I wish there was more flavor. Bitterbalens were gooey Don't expect a quick service, but everyone was nice and we got a table in a few minutes on Friday evening. Reservation are recommended

Super relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. Great to get away from the busy center. All vegan. The food was ok, small portions but innovative.

Great spot for a summer lunch or dinner. Super creative dishes. Prices are very reasonable given the craft put into it. There aren't many places like this one in Amsterdam.

Big Recommendation!! Must try: Bitterbalen, Lemon Ravioli, Elderlyflower Beer The place is super cute. We went there for Dinner wich is only served after 18:00 so we had time to try some of the beers and Snacks while having a beautiful view on the water. Later we eat Dinner there and it was really good. The prices are a bit higher compared to the size of the dishes. But thats just because the use only fresh local ingredients and make everything themselfes.

Arriving into my hotel at Amsterdam Noord on a Sunday evening, I went walking in search for something relaxed for food. Being summer, I didn’t realise how late it was. I arrived at Cafe de Ceuvel at around 9.20pm but they allowed me to get an order in. A vegetarian restaurant using locally sourced produce, the surroundings are hippie chic, but it works and feels comfortable and relaxing. What you need after a long Eurostar journey. The servers were impeccable, fun, and lively. I ordered the Lemon Pearl Barley Risotto, with green asparagus, yellow zucchini, with crispy oatmeal and a birch vinaigrette. The dish was so light and refreshing. The citrus was just the right level to renew my palette and went amazingly well with the glass of Zeebonk beer. I followed this up with a main course of Nettle Saag Paneer, with raita, zarda millet, and naan bread. Creamy and light, but filling and wholesome. What a dish to help me doze off to the land of Nod when I returned to my hotel. This place is perfect for a summers afternoon lunch! I plan to return.

Delicious food in a cool and relaxed atmosphere! Food is really great, good selection of drinks and the staff is very kind and welcoming. The outside area is large as well, surely a great spot in summer. You can also come and work from here until 18.00, there plenty of outlets at every table. Great place!

The shop is famous for its white-chocolate cookies, which can be enjoyed warm or purchased in souvenir tins. The store is beautifully decorated seasonally, especially during the holiday season when it's adorned with charming Christmas decorations. Visitors are encouraged to snap photos while indulging in their delicious cookies.
The queue moves pretty fast. Smallish cookies with a generous center of white chocolate melted inside. Very good gift with tin boxes available.

These cookies are absolutely irresistible — the kind that makes you stop in your tracks. Even before you see the shop, the aroma drifts through the air, warm and buttery, drawing you in like a sweet little spell. Each bite delivers the perfect balance of crisp edges and a soft, melt-in-your-mouth center, with flavors that feel both nostalgic and indulgent. It’s the kind of treat that instantly brightens your mood and makes you want to take a box (or two) home. Whether you’re a cookie lover or just someone passing by, this is one of those spots you simply can’t skip.

Very good cookie spot! Has a line but it goes quickly. I got the brownie pistachio with white chocolate and the chocolate chip with caramel sea salt. It was only ~€7 for two and they were quite filling.

The cookie shop is quite small, but you really just go in and out anyway. As soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by the most amazing cookie smell. We bought two of each flavor, and I’d definitely get them again whenever I’m in Amsterdam – the cookies were absolutely delicious!

Fresh, warm cookies that come in a few different flavors. I tried the dark chocolate and it was good. I don't think there is anything extraordinary about the cookies - they are similar to cookies in the US.

I had a fantastic experience at this coffee shop! The coffee was absolutely lovely, with rich flavors and great quality. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax. What stood out the most was the top-notch service—the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They made the visit even more enjoyable! Definitely a place I’d come back to if I visit Amsterdam again. Highly recommended!

Nice place around the corner in the Jordaan with such a unique and spontaneous design. Great staff and good playlist. Coffees are great but i feel like the overall sizes of the drinks are a bit small.
Isam Z — Google review
Shabby-chic in the heart of Jordaan a visit to Toki will mostly see locals lounging on grungy couches, though proximity to Centrum and the Anne Frank House also offers tourists an opportunity to visit for Food that is far better than many similar shops in The Netherlands. Embracing a hip aesthetic, both Baristas and Bakers chill while performing their duties, it is while tapping on phones or laptops that most guests sip Coffee while indulging in flaky Kouign Amann or subtly savory Peanut Butter Miso Cookie with generous flexibility. Popular for Cakes sliced arbitrarily, the Chocolate bagged to go a messy decision but rich and moist, rumors of excellent “Banana Bread” prove factual though the fact that it is indeed Cake should make it evident that the flavor is sweet while the crumb is dense.

Salvo is an Italian bakery and cafe located in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. They offer a variety of delicious pastries, including the famous pastiera Napoletana. The bakery operates with an open kitchen where you can see the bakers at work throughout the day. Customers have praised their pistachio-filled pastries, such as croissants and cookies, as well as classic Italian treats like maritozzi, cannoli, and veneziana.
A must-visit for sweets and pistachio lovers Loved everything I tried at Salve — it’s an amazing spot for coffee and desserts. The pistachio cookie was to die for, rich in flavor and perfectly baked, and the pistachio-raspberry pastry was just as incredible, with a great balance of sweetness and nuttiness. The coffee was excellent too, making it the perfect pairing for the sweets. There was a super long line when we arrived, but it moved quickly, so the wait wasn’t too bad. Inside, it’s very crowded, so we had to wait a bit for a table, but it was worth it, but just so you know it is not that comfy. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a delicious sweet break in Amsterdam.
Andreja — Google review
4.5/5 Every time I come to this place, it’s always busy with customers. After trying it, it’s actually pretty good. The pistachio croissant has a lot of filling and is very rich, but unfortunately not very crispy. The pistachio cookie is too sweet, so I probably won’t buy it a second time. The pistachio latte has a lot of paste and tastes great. Next time, I want to try their tiramisu and sesame Danish pastry.
Syixx F — Google review
So crowded inside and there was a long queue outside, which is the opposite with any shop on this street. They have several tables and seats and people moved around so it’s easy to find a spot. They have so many options for bread, sandwich and pastries. I had a pistachio one and a latte. The art is good, all the staff are warm and friendly! It’s a good place for people to meet with friends:)

Went to get a coffee and was blown away by the yummy options! We ended up getting a cortado, matcha coconut cloud latte and pistachio cinnamon roll - everything was delicious but the roll was out of this world! I expected a average roll and got this moist, perfectly balanced cinnamon roller bun with creamy pistachio 🤩 There wasn’t seating and we were planning on walking anyway but the place has such a cute and cozy vibe that I would have considered taking a seat of there were any available. Absolutely would recommend and go again myself! 🍵

101% recommend this bakery! The pistachio cookies taste better than those from many other Parisian bakeries. I even brought some back home.
Euro I — Google review
Great service, very nice and helpful! We shared the pistachio croissant. Unfortunately, we didn’t like it that much. It was very very sweet, even the croissant itself seemed to be glazed over with sugar and the pistachio filling was okay but not tasty. All in all 3/10. Also they only offer oat, coconut milk or coconut water, no almond milk :(
Lili — Google review
The sweets are just WOW – the tiramisu croissant is on another level! The savory items are also amazing, sweet and flavorful , I used to see their videos on TikTok but now I truly believe it’s WOW WOW WOW in real life The staff and customer service are outstanding – the girls serving were smiling all the time and super friendly. The service is top-notch, the place is beautiful, and the food is beyond amazing. Definitely a solid 5/5! 🌟

❌⛔️ The only negative point was that the dogs roam freely in the cafe and disturb the people eating the cakes. Their owners usually don't react and it's annoying. ✅ This café offers a wide variety of unique items, from delicious hot and cold drinks infused with coffee, matcha, or pistachio, to freshly baked cakes and buttery croissants. The open kitchen concept is a great touch, you can actually see everything being made fresh right in front of you. The staff are friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better.. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something new and tasty in the city!

Oficina in Amsterdam offers a unique blend of food, culture, and design. The interior is gorgeously designed and the presentation of their sparkling matcha, natural wines, pastries, and savory dishes is mind-blowing. Visitors rave about the apricot pancakes with maple-tahini butter and genmai as well as the fig tarte. The menu changes monthly, promising a consistently delicious experience. Guests praise the flavorful dishes that are packed with taste but not necessarily spicy.
A place in the best traditions of minimalism, focused on its audience. Attentive and non-intrusive service. A small creative menu that they update periodically. Great food with original and fresh flavors. You should go here if you are interested in something other than the classic breakfast with bacon or avocado toast. A large selection of Asian teas with several excellent varieties on the menu, I was pleasantly surprised.
Nataliia S — Google review
Used to enjoy this place a lot but recent experiences been poor. Staff can barely greet you and just points at the bar where you can sit in a corner with no service. Food is boring, something you can make at home, and overpriced. Also the plate was full of oily fingerprints. Interior is nice but for food and matcha, Amsterdam got wayyy better places.

I’m not really a brunch type of person but this place was incredible. Atmosphere is chill, modern and cozy. Staff were very friendly, and service was good. The food was fantastic, we ordered the scrambled eggs on toast, which were top tier (fluffy and creamy) and shared the asparagus (amazing) and a rhubarb crepe (also amazing). Could be considered pricey but you’re paying for high quality ingredients and fresh produce. Highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of having lunch at this amazing spot, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it. The flavours and combinations were absolutely amazing, and I was blown away by the quality of the food. One thing that really stood out to me about this restaurant was the simplicity of the menu. They only offer four options for breakfast and three for lunch, which is a refreshing change from the overwhelming menus that you often see at other restaurants. I was also thrilled to learn that the menu changes every month, so there's always something new and exciting to try. But what really stole the show for me was the tea. It's clear that tea is their specialty, and I can't recommend their matcha latte enough. It was so good that I went back for a second one! In addition to the amazing food and drinks, the atmosphere of the restaurant was also really nice. It had a modern vibe with a Japanese touch, and I felt right at home as soon as I walked in the door. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food and a great atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!

The most flavorful food I ever ate in Amsterdam. While the friendly staff, hip interior design that is very unique and elegant were highlights already, hands down the reason you must check out Oficina is the food. I only experienced 2 dishes from one of the editions of their menu but they were out of this world. Restaurant in the Netherlands tend to be very tame in flavor but the cooks at Oficina didn’t hold back. The dishes were not spicy, just packed full of flavor. Spices and combinations of ingredients that made the dishes a whole experience. The only reason I didn’t order more is because the portion was very generous and made me full. You have to check out Oficina, my new favorite in Amsterdam, and if you like Matcha tea, theirs is amazing too!

Very cute bar restaurant in De Baarjes. The service was very attentive and the food great. One of the owners is from the Basque Country in Spain so they have good basque wines within their menu. Also their dish menu changes every now and then so you won’t get bored of it. Perfect for a date or just a nice relaxing coffee on a weekday. Will definitely come back and try other things. Heads up!

The location is minimal and modern. Ordered yoghurt bowl, and on the picture you can see - it came with a rotten banana. When I asked the waiter to have a look, he didn’t see anything wrong, so I had to ask to replace it. Then, they brought it with just more apple instead.. we had to wait so long to get served too, although it was Friday afternoon and empty. The only positive was the waitress from Oceania, very sweet and nice.

The cafe is clean and bright and they have nice croissants. “downtown croissant” is quite special and I like it. Maple syrup makes it a bit too sweet tho. A lot of spaces and tables which are nice. It feels not very lively and lacks of welcoming feeling, more like a business area.

Quite rude server and waiters. They seem to only offer discounts via keep cup when it suits them. Have gone for months with sometimes a discount offerred and others not, dependent on who is serving. One of the bakery items I was most looking forward to was the biggest disappointment- a plain loaf of fresh bread. It looked delish but it was very “gummy” and borderline raw on the inside. The gummy dough stuck to the knife terribly. My only solution was to toast a slice before eating it- as if to finish baking it. In my experience, gummy bread often means the bread didn’t cool long enough before being served. I expected better results from a professional bakery. Just a big disappointment for a €9 loaf of bread. I also bought a loaf of Easter bread and a chocolate brownie cookie, both of which were very tasty.

I have been here for their monthly Sunday brunch and it was really delicious. The owner made a surprise buffet and I was delighted by all the deliciousness presented to us. Every plate was full of flavours exploding in your mouth, delicate and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is wonderful, chill and perfect for a Sunday brunch. Will definitely come back for more!

We drove over 6km with our bike rentals through the soaring heat (over 30°C) with high expectations for our eldest son (10, recently diagnosed with celiac disease). Alas, we had to disappoint him as there was a message at the store stating they closed an hour early due to the heat. We'd understand that if the sun would hit their window but basic stance of the sun calculations state otherwise. I'm mainly writing this bad review because there was zero communication on their website and on Google's mention of their opening hours (you can easily add deviating hours as owner of a business).

I had the expectation of a small gluten free supermarket. That Was disappointing as Sortiment is super small. A bit more than a normal supermarket. the bakery is good though. Would I have expected only the bakery it would have been 5 stars
Mattes K — Google review
I was very excited and I bought a little of everything: cake, bread loaf, bread with coconut and muffin. Only the cake was nice, but the bread is very humid and heavy. It got mold after 2 days for this reason. The oat banana muffins are very hard even after heating up in the oven. Positive side: they have confectioned gluten free products which are not offered in other supermarkets.

As a family with a Celiac member this store is fantastic. We got my wife's birthday cake here, with no notice, and it was delicious. Decent variety of things to get here, and bonus points (that weren't needed) for having some toys in the back that our toddler played with.

Nestled in the vibrant Museum Quarter of Amsterdam, Coffee District is a charming and cozy café that offers a delightful selection of high-quality coffee and delectable pastries. Situated just behind the renowned Van Gogh Museum, it provides the perfect respite for visitors to relax and indulge in a cup of coffee after exploring the nearby cultural attractions. While some may find its formal atmosphere slightly off-putting, others appreciate its aesthetic appeal and minimalistic design.
Heads down my favorite coffee shop in Amsterdam. The lattes are EXCELLENT and surprisingly priced less than in many other places. The atmosphere is serene. Love love love Coffee district.

Great coffee, staffs are friendly. The interior is beautifully decorated in minimalist. Clean and Lovely!
K N — Google review
I love this place! Their coffee and matcha tastes great and they have so many amazing pastries. My favorites are the banana cake with chocolate, cinnamon bun/muffin and the chocolate chip cookie :) Some of the pastries were dairy free and one was gluten free. Maybe they could add some more options like this.. They offer as well a variety of (vegan) milks. Luckily as well the coconut milk from Rude Health, without any gums, artificial vitamins or seed oils. I would recommend actually only getting vegan milks from a brand like that and not from Alpro (they can be very irritating to the gut). The aesthetics are lovely and very calming to the mind. They have a shelf with a lot of books with topics like interior design and cooking, that you can grab to read while you enjoy your drink and snack. The service is as well overal nice and fast :)
Mies — Google review
I had the best chocolate cookie of my life here! The cafe is so cute and there are lots of places to sit and have a chat, read a book or just take in your coffee and delicious pastries. The entire staff is so friendly and the coffee is amazing. Definitely try the chocolate cookie here! You will want to come back every day you’re in Amsterdam :)

Catched by the smell of their coffee while walking! It also taste good! They also sell coffee maker tools, cups and tumbler (all in good earth tone color). Very classy!
Agnes U — Google review
As a coffee lover I appreciate good variety of high quality of coffee beans and drinks. However I felt like in this place they try too hard to have certain formal atmosphere that I didn’t enjoy. If you’re looking for a place where you feel comfortable, having a long conversation, work a bit (laptops are not allowed) then this might not be your place. For me specialty coffee can be cozy and welcoming too. Staff was also very serious and a bit rude. Not the cafe I would come back to every weekend.
Jorge C — Google review
I give 4 stars mainly because of the incredible minimalistic nice design that is super cozy, timeless and well thought out. One that I barely see so perfectly done. The coffee was alright. I wouldn’t order it again. We got a cappuccino with oat milk and it wasn’t the cheapest given the location
W X — Google review
Delicious roasts, try the drip. The usual espresso drinks are good, nice place to pick up some coffee paraphernalia. Definitely NOT a place to pull out your laptop, they made the minimalist space for conversation. Recommended.

What an amazing place , people always smile at your face saying hello when they met you, are I've seen there some nice nature views and a bunch of swans and ducks (many different birds lives there and they are very friendly except gooses 🦆 don't ask me why )

To answer the question as why I'm posting a review on a Sunday if its closed: I've been to the bakery a few times and tried the following products: chocoladebroodje, croissant, stokbrood and a regular sliced bread. None of them felt of much better quality compared to the average supermarket products. On the other hand, the service is really quick and people working there are really nice and polite

Love the shop but the price is going too high!!!. things got smaller and more expensive. My vegan chocolate chip cookies had 1 or 2 chocolate chips per cookie in it. That's not good.

Marqt has evolved from its roots as a supermarket focused on organic food to a retailer that emphasizes "miliekeur" products, which are primarily sustainable offerings. While this shift aims to promote eco-friendly choices, some customers have found the terminology surrounding these products somewhat unclear, especially regarding pesticide use. Despite the higher prices compared to other organic retailers like Ecoplaza, Marqt stands out for its superior quality fruits and vegetables that are more flavorful than those found at larger chains like AH.
You can do your groceries peacefully, the quality of fruits and veggies is better and more tasteful than the ones of the AH. Friendly and professional personnel.

I will reconsider I received an apology and where I thought disposable gloves should be provided they will introduce disposable towels. I still I need my own shopping car on wheels to bring my heavy bottles home.... ...( baskets were not properly cleaned )
Wiet G — Google review
Not for me. More expensive products, but what are we paying for? Bought red caviar for 23 euros, label stated “low in salt”, but appeared to be extremely salted and uneatable. Made a complaint, received an answer after several weeks that I’m being subjective. Caviar from nearby fish shop was much better. Other products I bought were fine, but giving the attitude of customer service I don’t think visiting them again worth it.
Olesia B — Google review
The food variety is not that good here as in other Marqts around. Bread shelves are often empty, choice of fish and cheese is poor etc. I used to go to Marqt at Olympiaplein and it is way better! Also I was always happy with bread quality but they recently changed bread supplier and the bread is now terrible :(

Supermarket with biologic organic concept. U cant find your daily grocery need there all. There is a fresh see food counter, very nice but very expensive. Staff are polite and helpful.
Set D — Google review
Marqt used to be known for a supermarket providing organic food, now they provide "miliekeur" products, mainly sustainable products. When I've asked people working there what exactly this means in terms of use of pesticides, they didn't know what to answer. I have to admit that the "terminology" is somehow confusing. Furthermore the prices are just higher than those in Ecoplazza, which are still selling organic ones.

STACH is a popular spot for a quick and affordable lunch, offering a variety of fresh and healthy options like sandwiches, salads, wraps, and pastas to grab on the go. It's an ideal choice if you're heading to relax in a park. Additionally, they have sweet treats including the traditional Dutch gevulde koek. The quality and freshness of their products are highly praised despite the reasonable prices.

(Translated by Google) At STACH on Hoogoorddreef in Amsterdam, I stumbled upon a chicken and avocado sandwich that far exceeded my expectations. As soon as I walked in, the fresh and modern look was immediately striking: plenty of light, clean lines, and a cozy counter stocked with snacks and coffee syrups. The menu is displayed large and clearly above the bar, allowing you to leisurely choose from the wide variety of sandwiches and drinks. I chose the Chicken and Avocado sandwich, and it proved to be a hit. The photo shows the firm, freshly baked multigrain baguette, generously filled with tender chicken pieces, spicy seasonings, and a generous layer of creamy avocado. What I really appreciated was the generous use of avocado—full, creamy, and perfectly ripe. The fresh arugula on top made it all deliciously crunchy. From the first bite, you can immediately taste that this sandwich is freshly made; the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, without being overpowering. The atmosphere at STACH is relaxed and modern, with friendly staff who work quickly and cheerfully, even during the busier lunchtimes. Besides sandwiches, they also offer a wide selection of coffees, iced drinks, and small snacks like banana bread or Florentines – perfect for takeaway. This location is also easy to reach: Hoogoorddreef is located in the heart of Amsterdam Zuidoost, close to offices and public transport. Parking nearby can be a bit tricky, so the metro or bike is recommended. Fun fact: STACH is known for its changing specials, and I also saw the Lebanese Sajeria Special on the menu. That makes it worth coming back often to try new combinations. My tip: definitely try the chicken avocado sandwich if you like savory, spicy, and richly filled. Order an iced latte or homemade lemonade for the perfect lunch break.
