Brian and Jara took amazing care of us. The entire dining dinner experience was exceptional and it was the best dinner I’ve had in all of Europe of the 4 countries I visited (Austria, Spain, France & the Netherlands). We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, 3 sides and dessert. Every single dish was cooked to perfection - flavorful, balanced, savory and delicious. I would say 15/5 stars because the service and food were excellent. Brian and Jara were both very attentive. We asked a lot of questions and we were impressed all around. I will also add that me and my husband are huge foodies from the U.S. who eat in some of the best restaurants that the East Coast has to offer. Definitely a must try! Enjoy! My hats off to the chef.

One of the best seafood bar every. Had great Grilled Octopus with garlic. More extra garlic would be bring much more to the taste. Mixed Grilled Seafood. Was great and fresh. Crispy and soft. Shoot out to Emma one of the best people very helpful and smiling all the time. Sorted out all issues and made the stay at this restaurant.

Nice atmosphere, employees were very polite and helpfull! Food tasted good, but a bit pricey for what you get. As it was crowded the temperature was a bit on the hot side, could be a bit colder and in some parts in the back of the restaurant it was way too dark! Definitely recommended.

Joao team’s organization, professionalism, and ability to handle our ad-hoc dietary requests and special requirements were truly outstanding. We had a wonderful dining experience here! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were exceptionally polite and attentive. Our group of over ten people was thoughtfully seated in a comfortable corner area, and they even suggested serving the dishes in smaller portions so everyone could enjoy each item. We had a very nice lunch in a bustling, bright, cheerful, atmosphere. The staff were accommodating, polite and attentive. I had crab cakes and mussels which were delicious and my wife, the turbot. The oysters and seafood platters on nearby tables looked really good and were obviously going down well. We were happy with the price and will definitely return.

A cozy and hidden sort of restaurant with specific different flavors of mussels served, located inside Westerpark. They have different Gin&Tonic options. We can put this place next to touristic restaurants in the city in terms of price, and ambience. Their fish burgers are tasty and so mussels with the truffle sauce. rices are slightly above the average, since they are serving seafood. staff are helpful and friendly, service speed is neither fast nor slow. Overall a pretty location for a date or a friend group. There is congestion at the toilet since cabins are limited and not practical to enter.

The gin was good. I was hoping that the mussels were gonna be better than the first time I went there around 10 yrs ago. The portions are smaller, the flavours a bit underseasoned. Had the nduja flavour just for a change, but it's probably better on a pizza. Next time, I'll stick to the classic. Fries are still excellent.

Everything was delicious at Mossel & Gin. The food was great, the lemon gin was amazing, and we sat outside—such a nice and cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon!

The mussels were fresh, the Thai sauce was very good, but I’m not so good in eating mussels by hand so I get extremely dirty. It’s really not their fault.

Really good quality for money My friend and I had the mussels and a pitcher of gin. Highly recommend the mango and chilli gin, it's delicious. Also definitely try the Japanese style mussels, really innovative and better than the original white wine sauce ones.

Good food everything was good . My mother in law and son got the ribs looked good. I got the Dutch dish not bad kind of a mash potatoes and meatloaf type deal still good. The kids loved the spaghetti and wife enjoyed the chicken skewers. Definitely come back again

Visiting Café Sonneveld was a real treat! The pork ribs were phenomenal—tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with a rich, smoky flavor that just melted in my mouth. Every bite was a delight, and it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in its dishes. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The café itself has a warm, cozy atmosphere, with a casual yet charming vibe that makes it ideal for both a relaxed lunch or a hearty dinner. Watching the staff interact with other guests, you can tell it’s a place where people enjoy working and genuinely care about the dining experience.

They had authentic Dutch cuisine in the Jordaan district. It was very good. Service was okay. We had a lovely view table. I enjoyed the Dutch stampot and my husband had the ribs. Delicious and filling.

Great little place right on a canal. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff was polite and helpful when chosing drinks or food. Know for their stampot and spare ribs, I had the stampot and bitterballen which both were fantastic. Inside is really cool and outside is beautiful quite little street. Definitely a must try in amsterdam.

We had dinner. Soup and shrimp as starter and ribs and meat ball as main. Every dish is super delicious. We loved all. We enjoyed our dinner so much. It was small and crowded place but the service is super quick.

A great food hall with tons of vendors and a huge variety of options! My partner and I split up to order, each finding something we loved quickly and managing to snag a table during a busy Thursday night. Great for meet ups and nights when you don’t want to cook in!

We went here on a Friday around 4pm and it wasn‘t too crowded. We walked around for a good ten minutes just enjoying the atmosphere and looking at all the different food options. I got a poke bowl with vegan salmon which tasted okay and was a little too small for my liking, but the real star of the show were my friend‘s fries which came at a great price and tasted amazing. The portion was huge too, so it was enough to share :) We also tried the cannolis and those were great too.

The food court was okay in the sense that there are many options to choose from. The deep fried fish was quite delicious but the calamari was not. Portion size was small. The lemonade we got from one of the bars there was very fresh and tasty.

A well designed food market with delicious foods and variety of different dishes. The prices are quite high for fully self service, e.g. 8€ for a simple Heineken beer from draft. The sweets (cupcakes) are highly recommended.

We visited over the weekend and there was a DJ playing viral music—it was a really fun atmosphere. Everything is super clean and well-organized. The food selection is excellent, and there’s truly something for everyone. My recommendation is to try one dish from several different stands so you can taste more, because everything is absolutely delicious!

A perfect spot for casual and fun dining. There’s a great variety of options, though I find the food a bit pricey for a “plaza” setting. As for the atmosphere, I would improve the quality of the chairs (they’re uncomfortable) and the acoustics, as it can get quite noisy.

I've been to quite a lot of burger places in Amsterdam, and I think this has got to be the best of the lot! A selection of really interesting burgers, well priced and cooked to order. Great service and the staff were friendly and had a good laugh with us. I think on this trip we went 3 times over the weekend as we wanted to try the different burgers! Only a small seating area so more of a casual stop for food rather than a large restaurant, but if you're in the area highly recommend stopping off!!

Lombardos serves one of the best artisan burgers in Amsterdam — juicy, flavorful, and with a cultural twist that makes it stand out. Seating is limited and they don’t serve alcohol for dining in, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. A must-try for burger lovers! 🍔

We stopped by Lombardo’s and tried the signature Wagyu burger، honestly, one of the best I’ve had. Juicy, flavorful, just perfect. The place is small with limited seating, but the chef welcomed us like family. He found space for us, was amazing with our two kids, and even helped us pick the right burgers for them. Super friendly vibe and top notch food. Left full and happy. I highly recommend it. لا يفوتكم هذا المكان. الواقيو برجر حلال و لذيذ!!

Great option to eat a good hamburger. We tried the Pork Ah Licious and the Lombardo’s signature and they were delicious. The meet was so good and the size was perfect.

It was a complete random find. We wanted a sandwich and were recommended by the owner of zero zero another sandwich shop. I must say Lommbardo!’s has one of the best burgers I have ever tried period. I don’t write many reviews but having travelled all over the world this is no doubt the best.

I love my experience in this amazing seafood restaurant. From beginning to end, I feel I am well taken care of and well informed. Especially love the way of ordering the food. I am shown to the fresh seafood and can pick whatever I like to be cooked. Some of them are grilled and some are fried. The taste is top quality, the speed of serving reasonable. Before the dish, I have the bread with amazing butter source. I will visit again when I visit Amsterdam next time. You need to book in advance! It’s popular.

Unique experience like no other. It may sound intimidating to hear there’s no menu and you walk in and choose the fish that’s on display, but the staff are so wonderful at walking you through it all. The flavors were phenomenal and unique. We had Dutch oysters, calamari, scallops, burrata salad and the monkfish.

I went with my girlfriend and daughter, and from the very first bite we were smiling. My daughter was so delighted she couldn’t stop spinning around on her chair — that’s how much fun she was having! We started with freshly baked bread and cured salmon, followed by crispy fried river crabs — salty, juicy, and perfectly crunchy. Then came a parade of ocean delights: red gurnard served with a delicate buttery sauce that beautifully highlighted its sweet, ocean flavor; tender pulpo with just the right char; and a selection of fresh shellfish, each cooked to perfection and bursting with taste. Unique but inefficient concept. There's a front counter where you can pick out your entire meal, and this is the first step. Staff were really helpful and informative, though the dishes were a bit hit or miss. Oysters, hamachi, scallops and octopus were quite good. The "pickled salmon" was incredibly bland, as was the whole grilled fish, finished with a picante style sauce? Overall a cool dining experience but not something worth repeating.

We ordered the ribs, which were tender and had a subtle, smoky flavor—not overpowering, which I actually liked. That said, the portion size was a letdown. Both of our plates came out noticeably smaller than what’s pictured online… and even smaller than what the table next to us received. A little consistency and quality control would go a long way here. We also tried the lobster tail. While nicely cooked, it felt underwhelming for the price. The menu says 140g, but it looked and felt like less—hard to say, but it didn’t quite meet expectations. They accept split bills if you come with friends. Overall, there’s potential here. The food tastes good, the ambiance is charming, but they need to work on delivering what’s promised—especially when it comes to portions.

We had the caesar chicken sandwich and the cheese steak sandwich, and both were very good. The chicken sandwich had a really nice sauce, and the cheese steak was tasty, but it could have had a bit more meat. Portions of fries are quite large; one portion would have been more than enough for the two of us. The cheesecake was okay, but we didn’t enjoy the base. Service was friendly, and the decor is different and interesting. I would come back for dinner for sure.

All around an awesome stop. I have the classic burger and it had so much flavor. It was a great piece of meat. The staff was super kind and the bar tender was awesome. He was very go lucky and outgoing to everyone. The atmosphere of the place is pretty chill/social. Darker with music playing. Awesome decor with vintage style pictures all over the wall. Cauliflower steak was surprisingly good for me as a non vegetarian, steak was tender with good flavour (medium rare shown in the picture) and reasonable price in Amsterdam but lack of crust. Good environment but slightly packful and noisy, service I give 4/5 because they broke a glass in front of me luckily no one get hurt. Overall, good food and dining experience.

A very funky spot inside, and a kind of “funky” space outside. Inside very eclectic, outside, unfortunately there is a bunch of say 8-10 overflowing garbage bins immediately across from the outside dining tables, not exactly ideal for eating. We chose to eat inside. The food was very good, the service was spotty, the environment was a treat for the senses.

We had an incredible experience at Cannibale Royale Handboogstraat. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We had booked a couple of months in advance to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and the communication with the staff via email beforehand was excellent. The restaurant itself is very cozy and atmospheric, perfect for a special occasion. As for the food—it was absolutely phenomenal. We tried the short ribs, Cannibale Royale’s favorite ribs, the tomahawk steak, and the chicken wings. Every single dish was perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and of superb quality. It’s hard to describe just how delicious everything was—you really have to experience it for yourself. Highly recommended and truly a must-visit in Amsterdam!

We got the mixed grill and guess what? It was mixed. Rubs were dry. Shoulder was juicy. Sausage was meh. Chicken was ok. Service was attentive. Place is a bit dark but works for hangover days

Open early on Sundays- worth getting up for! Excellent varied menu. We had florentine and BR special. Both very well executed. Super garlicky spinach and yummy think bread. Friendly efficient service.

Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor, presentation, and overall quality — which was very unexpected. The bread was cut too thick and had no taste, it wasn’t toasted or spread with butter. Adding simple touches such as garlic butter, cheese sauce, or other flavor elements could make a big difference. All three dishes we ordered were completely bland. These days, it’s easy to find inspiration online for improving flavor and presentation, and I believe there is definitely room for improvement.

We had a tasty brunch here on a Sunday morning. My only wish was that the wait list system worked because I tried to join the wait list as we were walking there and it wasn't working... Of course we arrived and the place was full so we could only add ourselves once we got there. This meant that we could only get bar seats which was a bit tight for space. Aside from the seating situation the food itself was great. We got the Navajo Eggs and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were delicious and had a good balance of fresh ingredients with savoury elements.

Great breakfast and healthy options 🌸 We got early breakfast here. We ordered the B&R breakfast with side eggs and avocado with coffee and matcha. Everything is delicious and fresh, especially the pancakes. The portion sizes are good. Coffee and matcha latte was also good. Quick and friendly service. Highly reccomend and would visit again =)

I ordered the B&R Special with extra avocado instead of bacon. The eggs and bread were delicious, and the butter elevated the whole dish. The orange juice was fresh, but the pancakes were underwhelming compared to the rest. Nice atmosphere and excellent service, overall, a solid 5 stars despite the pancakes.

Had enjoyed the wonderful dinner with- White wine, oysters, lobster, fish soup, mussels, and grilled seafood platter ! In memory of Dolly dog, we brought a puppy to travel with us to comfort our broken heart a little bit! It encountered the waiter told me he likes dog more than people! Our first meal in Amsterdam was a delightful experience. After checking into our hotel, we sought the concierge’s recommendation for a nearby restaurant that served Dutch or seafood. As a foodie, I always relish trying local cuisine when possible. However, tonight, we had a craving for some fresh fish. The restaurant was conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from our hotel. As the night grew darker, the ambiance of Amsterdam transformed into a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We had made a reservation for 8 pm and arrived promptly. Upon settling in, our waiter promptly presented us with the drinks menu, which was a refreshing departure from our usual experience of receiving everything at once or a single menu encompassing both drinks and food. The food arrived hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. While I enjoyed the prawns, I felt that they could benefit from a bit more seasoning to enhance their taste. Despite this minor oversight, the overall meal was satisfying. The soles were a standout, with both large and small portions offering a delightful experience when accompanied by butter. The side dishes were expertly prepared and complemented the main course perfectly. In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant. Not only does it offer a delightful dining experience, but the service is also commendable and friendly.

This was definitely the best meal we had in Amsterdam. The atmosphere, the service and the super delicious food! We had lobster bisque, octopus, black tiger prawn and catch of the day fish. Everything was fresh and perfectly presented. If we'd stayed in the city for one more day then we will definitely visit this place again!

If you are a seafood lover, come here! Although the Irish oysters were average, the lobster bisque was above average and then the grilled fish was so over the top good, that I give Lucius a 5 star rating. The tuna , salmon , prawns and baby sole were perfectly prepared to be tender and delicious without the aid of any sauce necessary. I highly recommend Lucius, especially for the fish.

The food is delicious, they cook it from veggies collected in the garden. Quality is great! I liked they cook quite fast and there are enough of vegetarian dishes in the menu. They have only a few tables so it’s better to book in advance. Grapefruit and orange juice is tasty!

It's a quaint family run business. Reserve well in advance they don't have too many tables and get reserved well in advance. We got the French toast, eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs. Everything tasted very well made and delicious.

Excellent little spot, had the French toast and my only regret is that the bread was so small. Absolutely phenomenal. This is a very small spot, best for 2 people, there is a table on the 2nd floor that fits 4 but I would recommend making a reservation if you want to bring that many people.

This place has something for everyone: from burgers, to fish, to snacks and a big selection of drinks. I decided to go for the classic burger and accompany it with some chicken bites, fries and mozzarella sticks. At first I thought the price was elevated, however when the food arrived, it was quite a good amount for what you pay. I enjoyed the meal overall and the service was quite attentive and kind. The only thing is that do keep in mind that there is a restaurant where you can eat more privately and calmly. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would come back from time to time.

A cute bar and lovely food! The plant base burger was delicious. The only downside was I expected French Fries instead of thick cut chips. I do think that it’s a bit on the expensive side as I paid €18 for a burger and chips! But the atmosphere is cool and it stays open till 12am so it’s a cool spot to go after a couple drinks.

Great place. Quite unusual inside, dystopia & minimalist even which won't suit everyone. The burgers were top notch as we're the sides. Menu wasn't massive, which I always think is a good thing. Service is minimal but very good. Certainly a recommendation.

I arrived at the place after almost a 40-minute walk, and there were still 30 minutes left before closing time. The Brazilian attendant told me that the place was closed and that they couldn't wait for customers!! But the place was still open, which is regrettable. I've eaten there before, and the burger is very good, which is exactly why I went back. But this time I was mistreated and couldn't eat my burger, even though I arrived during opening hours.

Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! We went for our anniversary dinner last night and were blown away… from the food and its beautiful presentation to the atmosphere, but most of all, the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, recommending dishes and making us feel truly looked after. We chose the chef’s menu and were treated to some bold and delicious flavor combinations To list a few, fish with grapes and for dessert: corn ice cream, popcorn, and caramel! (Told you it was bold) but absolutely delicious If you enjoy fish, this is definitely the place to go. We’ll absolutely be coming back! If I had one tiny comment, it’s that I wish the portions were just a bit bigger. We didn’t leave hungry, but a little more of everything would’ve been perfect, though maybe smaller portions are part of the concept? Maybe

We had the Amex Experience Menu at Vis & Schelde and absolutely loved it. The amuse-bouche were a perfect start, the kohlrabi ravioli was the standout of the evening, and both the weeverfish with artichoke and calamari carbonara were also highlights. The food is creative, beautifully presented, and truly delicious — a perfect mix of fun and flavor. Highly recommend!

In town for only a few days and a local friend recommended it to us - it was tremendous start to finish. Excellent Champagne to begin, fresh local oysters, dinner, dessert, every course a winner. Wish we lived here to make this our regular place!

1st time back since Covid opening in summer of 2021. Hottest day of the year so far on their terrace. Difficult to remember back to then but everything was super. We took a la carte starting with a little cavier, then smoked eel, and tuna and fois gras , for mains half a lobster and tuna tataki with soft shelled crab, finishing off with pinnacolde ananas, and scrompino (everything Lemmon). Everything was very delicious, well presented and top service.

Delicious food, great service, good wine. Definitely the place where to go if you would like to eat fresh fish and have a wonderful experience.

We had a 5 course diner with wine pairing and it was fabulous. Started with oyster and another starter and a glass of champagne. Amazing food and wine, and the staff is just so nice and skilled. Not overly formal and with a lot of knowledge, they made us feel so comfortable. I loved the experience and it was worth every penny.

A special treat, as usual, to visit Visaandeschelde and enjoy their quality food, service and pleasant ambiance. You get what you pay for and it is most certainly worth it. The weather was great and we could sit outside: which is even better as inside it can sometimes get rather noisy as the sound bounces of the walls and ceiling amplifying the noise................ As we live outside the city in a different town we usually come by car, and it is so convenient to get of the highway and park easily - albeit at a ridiculous price per hour, set by the City of Amsterdam ofcourse. Looking forward to our next visit.

Very nice seafood, fresh, surprisingly arranged. We tested few options from regular menu and meals of a day. It was quickly served, without much of a waiting. Crew was super nice and helpful. Restaurant is not super posh, good place for a date or small friends/family meeting.

The seafood here is very good & fresh, however, the service is very cold, making you feel merely like a number...get 'em in, get 'em out. There is no interaction from the service staff...not personable. The restaurant has a lot of potential if they had engaging servers. They appear to be short staffed. Still, the seafood is awesome and the reason we came while in Amsterdam.

Nice restaurant with great views of Amsterdam city across and the sea. However location was not very accessible so wouldn’t recommended coming here unless you have a car (it’s a 30-40 min walk from the nearest station). The restaurant specializes in seafood but we thought they were just ok - nothing impressive. Ordered lobster bisque but the soup was watery and not the rich creamy bisque we were expecting. For the mussels pot, the flavors were lacking and some mussels were not that fresh as well. Price is also on the steep side though service was excellent.

Great friendly staff, great view, great vibe to the place (I think it's an old warehouse), but most importantly great food. I had the warm shellfish platter and my, it was good. My mistake was not ordering bread to soak up all that delicious sauce! There's a great view of the river and the Centraal station, which I can imagine is great during the day (I went for dinner). Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive, definitely made the experience even better. Only slight negative is the location; you wonder if you've gone to the wrong place as it feels like it's in an ex industrial area.

Firstly, really nice view from the sitting area, it is a straight view to a huge canal and it is very relaxing. Also, the food was great, looked good that I had eaten half way before I remembered to take a picture for review, affordable also.

Absolute gem of a place. Didn’t have a large meal here but honestly every plate that was taken past the table looked fantastic. Really friendly staff and the architecture of the building is incredible. Really good place to come and eat, we just sat, drank and chatted and watched the boats on the river!!

Best fish and chips in town. Very flavorful food with friendly staff. Come enjoy a nice lunch here and enjoy the atmosphere.

The food was excellent. Had some sourdough bread as a starter with anchovies butter, which I can recommend anyone- it’s class! The seacuterie board was a bit overpriced for what we received. However, the mains, see images, were both out of this world delicious and fairly priced. Can high recommend the sea bass and sea bream!

This is a gem place ! Definitely recommend this place for the best quality seafood with delicious flavors! The chef here pour in lot of love while making and cooking these dishes so the taste of the dishes are next level ! I was in food coma after having just one bite 😍🥹

It was one of the best restaurant in my life. I am traveling around the globe, but I never suspect that I am gonna eat such a good food in hearth of Amsterdam. Bread with anchovies butter was one of the best in my life, vongole was simply amazing same with trout as a starter. After that I ate seabass in hot oil, I ate the whole fish and it was heaven for me. Great selection of wine by glass, and good beer. Atmosphere was simply amazing and cozy, our waitress, don't know her name (blonde hair) was professional and friendly. I would recommend that restaurant and come back in next visit. Thank you for amazing evening.

The fried potato cubes were flavorful, but a few were overcooked and too hard to enjoy. Unfortunately, several clams had noticeable sand, which affected the overall experience and didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Amazing dinner and great staff. Owner was great and so was the rest of the staff. Food was delicious! Mussels were perfect. Will be our new regular spot. Cant wait for oyster happy hour today!

The starter was nice, we ordered the seacuteries with some bread. But after that came a long wait for the main dishes. The sea bass was delicious but the mussels had a whole story coming along with it. The waitress on her way serving the dish, dropped a few mussels out of the dish, right in front of our eyes, but not saying sorry or have any reaction to it. The mussels themselves were not hot at all. We also ordered asparagus as a side dish, and what a ridiculous price, 8.5 euros for like, what, 6 pieces of asparagus??? So yeah, definitely will not come back and also not recommend!

The line was fairly long but organized well. We ordered fries with regular mayo, parmesan cheese, and chopped onion. It was quite tasty! It tasted just as expected, and the fries themselves were really good. Would definitely buy again if they sold in my country. There are no tables or chairs to sit on, so choose a good day where you can sit and enjoy them by the canal.

Now the question is, was it worth it? Answer: Yes, 💯%. Cheesy Chips with Mayonnaise is a delicacy in Amsterdam. It’s sold in many different ways, in many different areas. As social media normally does, it makes one bigger than the other. Fabel Friet is one the most common. The queue wasn’t too long and the service is quick. They don’t mess about. This area can get very busy so pick your moment. The food, was, delicious. Definitely worth the wait and definitely worth a try. The only thing I would say is the corridor is very narrow getting in and out. A great little find. Thank you 💫

Super simple menu here, mainly known for their fries but have some other smaller items such as croquettes! Of course you have to get the fries! I had truffle mayo as the sauce choice and they had a ton of cheese on top. So good and such a yummy snack during the day. They get a very long line so be prepared. It’s all take out, no seating. Must try!!

It’s a very famous online fries restaurant, but to be honest, I did find the specialty. Firstly, you have to wait outside even near the river on the bridge, then you can order in the counter, there is no any seats inside, so just buy and take away. Secondly, almost all the shops nearby put the signboards said please do not stand and eat in front of the shops. Which means you have to take the fries and go bit far to find a place to eat it. Thirdly, it’s just very normal taste, personally don’t think it deserves the queuing and waiting.

Amazing fries! We absolutely loved them! The spicy cheddar fries were a bit too spicy for our taste, but that’s just personal preference. The truffle fries, on the other hand, were so delicious. The only downside is that you have to eat outside, and finding a bench or a spot to sit is a bit of a struggle

The fries are good, but pretty average fries with truffle mayo sauce and parm. Bonus points for it being hot, having a bit of crisp, and fresh. Other than that it’s just normal fries once you finish the top layer with all the toppings. There is also no place to eat it and they have security guards in front shooting you away from their store with your fries. They didn’t provide any napkins as well and it got so messy. Not the best atmosphere and service.

Really delicious! We got the fires with truffle mayo and Parmesan. The wait was about 15 min and the line moved fast. The fries were good but not our favorite - we also tried the beef croquette which was okay.

What an absolutely wonderful place! Brut de Mer offers a continuously changing seafood menu, depending on what is freshly available on the market at the moment. The chef shows personal interest to check if everything is to your liking. The enthusiastic staff works hard to find good wine pairings with your dishes. I tasted some very good wine! I ordered the pulpo with Kimchi and the Dutch (IJselmeer) smoked eel with apple syrup. Especially the eel was amazing, what a great combination of flavors. I will definitely be coming back to this small and cozy restaurant that is serving great food, without any pretense.

Great Spot, Product on point good tapas portions easy to share even the Pasta Vongole, so good got to try most of the items on the menu. Mussels with gorgonzola sauce was out of this world! The fresh Portuguese shrimp, tasted the same way it did when i tried it in Lisbon extremely Juicy, Sweet and a tad smoky. And the dutch Oysters extremely nice small a bit salty but on point with the salt it hit the spot! Cleansed with there Home made Beer, very refreshing

Oyster, super tasty and fresh, but a bit pricey. Kimchi octopus, unique and delicious. Soft shell crabs, creamy and flavorful. Fries, it’s just fries. Razor clams, a bit overcooked and dried. Great atmosphere, and friendly service! Will definitely come back.

If you don’t mind a lot of issues with service and you enjoy a good oyster - tapas bar I highly recommend trying Brut de Mer. Pros - everything we ate was phenomenal. The 12 oyster tasting was well shucked and the six different oysters we got to try were all delicious and unique and their preparation of boquerones was fresh and well seasoned. Similarly, their foie gras tapas plate and sweetbreads with shrimp were beyond reproach. I can also say the Scrappinos to drink were really solid if not just a little runny. However, the service was probably the worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Our original waiter came by pretty quick to take our order, however, he literally forgot to actually put in 1/2 of our order. It took +30 minutes to get a bottle of water for the table (we had to ask 2x after our cocktails and oysters arrived). Similarly, after multiple other tables who ordered after us received their entrees we found out our entire hot order had not been put in and so it took more than an hour after sitting to get something to eat after our oysters (which took around 30 minutes) On that note, our first waiter essentially disappeared after taking our order and we had to grab another waiter who clearly wasn’t in our area to actually put our hot order in… On top of that, when our second waiter came by to ask for final calls we put in another food order, we put in one last thing (we had been hoping to try multiple tapas plates but given how long the first hot plates took we literally only had last call to try more). 45 minutes later as the servers began cleaning out the bar and turning chairs over it was incredibly clear they forgot to put our last call in. On the positive side of poor service, they also gave us another tables glass of cava at one point and we saw them flag the server around 15 minutes later with the same frustration in where their drink was. Overall, I would probably eat here again so take that as you will about how amazing the food is. But I would definitely sit at the bar, order one thing at a time and make sure your orders are getting put into the POS system. We left hungry and wanting to try more and we felt frustrated that we were being ignored during our 1 1/2 hours at the restaurant..

Great service from the team and also very knowledgeable about the wines. We had the Normandy , Irish and gillardeau oysters , exceptional ! Also loved the scallop dish The wine list is varied and really caters for every palette .

Amazing food and attentive staff! Food arrived relatively fast. Highly recommended! When it’s raining, outdoor seating may get wet despite the sheltered terrace.

The dishes were creative and the flavors were quite good. The grilled fish, however, was a little overcooked, which made the meat somewhat dry.

Everything was very delicious overall. We actually enjoyed the main courses much more than the mezes we absolutely loved them! I’ve been walking past this place every day for the past three years, and today was the first time I got to try it. The fact that the music was Turkish made me really happy. We arrived a bit early, so it was quiet at first, but later it got crowded and a bit noisy inside. The staff were friendly, and the place was clean and nicely decorated. Thank you we’ll be visiting often! The only thing that disappointed me was that there was no tea. Also, they said the wait time for the künefe would be 20–25 minutes, which felt quite long. But as I said, overall, it was a successful and tasty experience.

Went there with big group! The arrangement was quite easy and the people were informative about their dishes. I would say that the actual dishes were bigger than we saw in picture. We were quite full by the end of the dinner. There few astounding dishes that i can recommend you: Voorgerecht that are awesome were Yogurt with Spinach and the cheesey mushroom. Main dishes that i took was Beygci, was great! I recommend take the mixed grill tho. Was great. Atmosphere was gezellig. Service quiet on time also. Price indeed was on higher side but still quite worth it. Oh, dont get the salmon. Portion was too small compared to the rest. And please please get the KUNEFEH! It was our highlight

if the lamb would've been less chewy it would have been a perfect meal. very well seasoned, not too over the top either. the bread with tomato is amazing, so is the bulgur.

Had dinner here with colleagues. The food was fine but nothing really stood out — flavors were okay but not memorable. Prices lean toward the moderate–high side for what you get. Staff was fast and attentive.

This restaurant is as authentic as it comes. It came recommended by a local resident. The food tasted very good. I like the fact that all the dishes (grilled fish, hummus, lamb chops, grilled ground meat) were not overly seasoned. They were fresh as well. They had homemade baklava which had the crunchy and airy texture, and not too sweet.

Drinks only - fun bar with fair prices in a good area of the Jordaan. Would recommend for a before or after drink if dining at one of the popular local spots near by. I even saw people walk in from the pizza restaurant across the street and buy drinks to take over there.

Once in a lifetime experience! If you want to know what living the life of an Amsterdammer feels like you can‘t miss out on this spectacular location. The cozy lights, the fresh drinks, the „gezellig“ ambient and the lovely service fusion to an utmost prestigious experience. The decoration let‘s you revive the XVI century whilst the tapestry is straight out of an interior design magazine. We shall return for another Crawl!

The bar is located in a very nice street in Jordaan. It’s cozy and convenient to sit inside as outside on a good weather. Their Dutch typical bites are really good and they have all beers, wines, gin and drink selections. Their service isn’t that good. I can understand their overwhelmed but they can tend to be rude a bit.

Very friendly local place. Bitterballen and Oma Bobs croquettes are delicious. Service is a bit slow but normal for the area. A go to place in local town of Jordaan NL.

My favorite cozy place in the heart of the Jordaan! There's absolutely nothing special about it and yet it is my most special place. The inclusive atmosphere, the music (which can be literally anything), the chill mood of it. I don't know, I guess you gotta see for yourself. When you go get some Trappist cheese, they serve it with apple jam which is super delicious!

Nice fries but terrible service. Me and my friend were feeling like getting some fries but were not very hungry. So we both wanted a small portion. When my friend ordered his, the guy behind the counter turned it into a medium portion, costing nearly double the price, I tried to help my friend but the man behind the counter wasn't listening. When I told him I wanted a small portion myself, he said it was a kids portion, and when I said no, it says small portion on the menu, he started asking if I didn't have enough money for a bigger portion. This was extremely offensive as I just wanted a small portion as I wasn't hungry. The guy kept on being disrespectful and joking about the small portion while making the fries for us. In the end my friend couldn't even finish his fries because it was too much for him. Really just a bad experience, will never return here.

Portions are smaller than in the photos, the service is poor, and the fries weren’t as good as expected. Nobody informed us that the sauce costs extra. You'd better avoid this place.

Ok… where do i start. Firstly DO NOT EAT here. The food was cold and disgusting and when i noticed i got the wrong order and called it out, the man behind the counter dimply made a sensual jerking motion with his hand towards me. Speaking of the man behind the counter. His unkempt appearance and foul odour made me question if he was actually a worker or a random homeless man who wandered in to the establishment. When i was done and preparing to leave the man whispered to his colleagues and looked at me while gesturing a fondling motion of the breasts (i am a male) which made me feel uncomfortable. NEVER going back.

Okay, so the food was very good and didn't take long. However service is horrible, no menus, nothing which makes it very hard for people who never been there before. We asked for a menu and some guy just pointed at the TV advertising the food so we had to stand and watch for a few minutes. Atmosphere is no different than a cheap diner, but I guess most people don't dine in so it's alright. Overall decent food and bad service.

Very nice place. Everything was good: Kroket (the best), Kaasoufflé , bitterballen, Frikandel. And they worker in the counter was quite friendly. I would come back without problems.

I really loved it here. I loved the energy, the bar tender was so friendly and nice. From what he told me - he’s been doing this for 40 years - this is a very traditional Dutch place. Apparently it opened in 1624. You can still feel that vibe in the room. Half the room was taken up by locals who are apparently there almost every day. The bartender knew almost everyone by name.

Could this be the best example of a brown cafe? We got great advice on what to order. Order the Bols genever along with an Amstel. Want to be authentic? Slurp the filled-to-the-top genever without lifting the little glass. Hi, Annita.

It is as advertised, very old but the people and the bar tender was so amazing. Lots of regulars and good old beer and drinks. Not too pricey based on the rest of Amsterdam. If you’re there in Amsterdam you should drop in for 1 if you like to experience the old world charm.

One of the top brown cafe in Amsterdam Even though it’s only a block off Rozengracht, a busy road, it feels tucked away in a quiet neighborhood which it technically is. It has a great old pub feel - dark interior, a very authentic ‘brown cafe’ with tons of memorabilia and billiards table right in the middle. Not very big, so lots of people congregate outside. Sits on a corner which is always the best. I enjoyed a couple of IPAs. The only late food available was bitterballan. I’m a little bitterballened out so my five star ‘food’ review reflects the delicious beer and atmosphere! That’s all for now.

I entered to a Dutch chorus of “Welkom” from both smiling bartenders.  I felt like Norm from “Cheers” as I took in the vibe of a tiny, wonderful local “Amstel” pub. Sit on a bench outside on a typical Dutch street under the shadow of the Westerkerk Church (photo heaven) and listen to the locals discuss all things local in the local language. Fun AF.

An incredibly atmospheric café/bar, established in the 1620s. The woman working there was very pleasant and friendly. Great prices!

Service was good and quick. They made the fries fresh and they were nice and crispy when they came out. We got the garlic sauce it was okay. Nothing special but the fries were good. We got the large and it was a huge portion we split it between three people. There were a few different sauce options so that was cool. The place was very clean and they had a cooler filled with drinks.

I know this place since 2022 , but unfortunately these days because of TikTok and everything these small businesses are getting overwhelmed….. it’s a good spot but should me limited sometimes , and their fries are much better than the trendy ones

The fries are great!! The best French fries I’ve ever had tried in my life. The toppings are tasty and the size is good.

Came across this while at Lourens! Decided to give them a shot later and have to say I really liked the fries. Got the large option with the Samurai sauce and it was really good. The sauce was perfectly balanced in terms of spiciness. The quantity was also quite a lot! Easily shareable between 2-3 people!

Pretty tasty fries with special sauces. The fries are fat, and still crispy on the outside. I got the small with curry sauce and it hit the spot!

Had Friet Atelier before trying this and they’re totally different level. The fries are so dry and hard while the sauce is too little for a portion. Not friendly service even no queue. Will not come back again.

We had the truffle mayo and parmesan cheese fries and it was delicious and rich and the staff are friendly. Minimum seating good to eat as you walk along the canal.

Visited this place and was extremely disappointed. When I arrived, there were only two free tables. I immediately pointed to one, but the waiter, with a smug attitude, deliberately stared at the seating chart for a long time. When I said I wanted that table, he cut me off with “wait, I’m looking.” Seating was unnecessarily delayed without any visible reason. I ordered mineral water, a ribeye steak, dessert, and tea. The serving sequence was completely wrong: first came the water, then tea (!), then the steak, and finally dessert — by which time the tea was already cold. The ribeye steak was suspiciously thin, far from the standard cut, which resulted in mediocre doneness. The dessert was a cheap chocolate mousse with vegetable fats and a strong margarine aftertaste. By the time I finished eating, the restaurant was almost empty — proving that in the beginning there was no objective reason for the delayed seating, other than the waiter showing off a false sense of “importance.” Overall, the place tries to appear like a proper restaurant, but in terms of service and food quality it’s just a diner with inflated prices thanks to a convenient location.

Our friends took us here for dinner. Great service and great food. We got raw oysters to start, and they were absolutely delicious. For our mains, my hubby got the tuna wellington, and I got the dover Sole. Both dishes tasted fresh and were perfectly cooked. The sole was light and tender. A dinner reservation is recommended!

Visited Restaurant Visque and it was truly a remarkable culinary experience. The food was exceptional — beautifully presented, flavorful, and creatively prepared. The service was professional and attentive, with staff offering great recommendations and ensuring we felt welcome. The atmosphere was elegant and cozy, making the entire evening even more enjoyable. We spent around €90–100 per person, and it was absolutely worth every cent. Perfect spot for a special dinner or a refined dining experience. Highly recommended!

Great space. The service was very good. The food quite tasty but the value per money is a slightly on the low side.

Food is OK Service depends on the server. We didn’t find it good value for money. Things we liked - the Tuna Wellington Things we didn’t like - the first server who waited on us was very unpleasant. The restaurant doesn’t follow the proper etiquette when serving a bottle of wine. You don’t get to taste it before it is poured to all glasses. Not all dishes are served nicely. Look at the white chocolate desert served in a glass.

Very good dinner! We got Tuna Taco, Raviolo, Halibut, and Cod for two people. Everything was delicious and looked great! Service was quick and friendly.

While sun had been shining the atmosphere was amazing. Drinks were also well made. Just the service wasn’t aware of what was going on. It took really long time to get their attention (if I even got it) and order some more drinks. Only one good point on their inattentiveness was that I didn’t spend so much money.

Cute place. Absolutely horrible service. The staff went out of their way to be rude to us. Dirty table, No eye contact for quite a while. Slamming dishes. I asked for a gin martini and the whole staff had to have a conference because they literally didn't know how to make one. I just ended up with gin over the rocks. Asked for the table to be clean because it was dirty and the bartender wet it down so much it was still swimming with water when we left. My husband was handed a menu with fish bones in it. They did not give us any napkins. Decided not to eat there. So rude.

We ate lunch there and nobody else was there to start with but more people had arrived when we departed. Food was very nice, we had vegetarian options and these were delicious. Service was quick and attentive. Recommended.

Great place by the canal in Amsterdam, in a quiet street. I had the tomato soup it was very good. Also good sandwiches and the service was great (can't remember the waitress name!!)

This is a nice spot for a drink and a bite to eat. Nothing out of the ordinary, though as others have said the croque monsieur/madame is very good. The rest is your classic Dutch bar snacks and it was all very nice. Found the staff to be friendly and welcoming though they lose a star for forgetting an item from our order but still including it on our bill. Other than that I'd come here again

Atmosphere? Immaculate. Cozy enough to lose track of time and accidentally spend your entire afternoon. Drinks? Amazing, every cocktail I’ve had here has made me question why I ever settle for mediocre elsewhere. Food? Equally great, and I’m still thinking about that Gyoza. And the staff?? Best part. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, but special shoutout to Stan and Eugenie, absolute sweethearts who somehow make you feel like a valued customer. They’re the reason this place feels like a second home. Protect them at all costs. Nothing but love ♥

I love this place, one of my fav places in Amsterdam. The quality of the fish and seafood is high and they know how to cook it, simple, traditional but get the best out of the product. It is also a really nice space, service is fast, ordering is simple, price is reasonable considering where we are… totally worth it, a place I keep coming back to.

I had a nice dinner at Barracuda Restaurant. The seafood was fresh and well prepared, and the staff were friendly. The terrace is a great spot to sit, also suitable for families with children. They use a unique way of ordering, which made the experience more fun. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was good. I would definitely recommend this place for a casual and enjoyable meal.

Excellent seafood in a nice atmosphere! I guess I had the best crab legs in my life. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. We ordered Turbot and it was cooked on point. The variety of vine is also very rich. Stuff is also very friendly. I’m definitely visiting here next time in Amsterdam.

Excellent seafood and fish restaurant with a very interesting concept for service (they have the cutest robot!). Fresh produce, delivered fast to the table, relaxed atmosphere and good wines. Will definitely come back.

What a great surprise! I was expecting a meat restaurant (because of the name, after all, barracudas live deep in the mountains at high altitude), but they turned out to serve seafood. And it was great! I would suggest renaming the place after a fish or something more fitting, but other than that, we loved it!

Good food with unprofessional service experience… Although we had reserved in advanced for 12 people, and confirmed an hour ago, we had been waited almost half an hour at the bar. We chose group menu, but the portions were not enough, and most of the people were hungry at the end of the night. The taste of the food is good in general, and fresh. The wine menu has a lot of options but not very good quality wine are on the menu. However that is acceptable for an average restaurant. The prices are affordable and the vibe is different.

Such a great vibe here with friendly staff. Of course the stars of the place is the fantastic array of seafood. The pulpo salad is a must try!

Looks like a local fast food chain, I’ve tried the cheese burger and a vanilla milkshake, they were ok. I’ve tired this beef kroketten, I didn’t like it much. Funny story, this big bird was standing in front of the door and just kept looking at the restaurant. I’ve asked the worker here and he said this bird comes here everyday for food.

Great concept, you just tap your card and press on a button to get the food you want. Just keep in mind that they only accept card. The food and prices are okay. Really messy store during the nights and it litters down the whole neighbourhood.

12 euro for a tiny burger and chips the chips were good but the burger bun was old and the patty was tiny no indoor seating and the outdoor seating is full of crows

They didnt even let us in because of meticulous racism. Discrimination to our race and insult to the entire indian community in Amsterdam. This is very offensive and the guy shud be fired.

What a great spot to enjoy some homemade bitterballen! We tried the “Sharing is caring” bitterballen tasting, the Pomme Frites, cheese sticks, and the Bittergarnituux Mix along with some wine. Everything was delicious! Our favourites were the vegan and beef bitterballen, the cheese sticks and bami, which is, apparently, one of the least favourites to the Dutch. It has a light curry flavour which we do enjoy and the texture of the noodles was really quite yummy. If you don’t like a curry flavour, then there’s others you’d be better to trying. The service we received was amazing - very warm and friendly and it’s a really great vibe in the restaurant. They have some outdoor seating and we noticed that the kitchen, which is open to be seen to the dining area, was pristine. Despite the food being fried, you don’t have that fried oil smell typical of restaurants who don’t change their fry oil as often as they should so we know everything was as well kept as it looked. Prices were VERY reasonable for the service, atmosphere and quality you receive. We walked in before the rush but reservations are recommended as they got very busy and you don’t want to miss out!

My wife and I are from the US and we visited the Netherlands back in September 2024. We were looking for a relaxing and delicious Dutch lunch at a fair price, and this place delivered that for us! We ordered the Sharing is Caring Bitterballen Tasting, which includes 4 beef, 4 veal, and 4 vegan. We also ordered the fries with black truffle mayo and some sparkling water. This place deserves all the great reviews!

First time I have tried bitterballen and didn’t know what to expect. They had a very crunchy coating and soft thick centre. We loved that they had a vegan option. It tasted quite meaty, and like thick stock. Not sure they are my favourite but good to try and glad I had them here. The cheese sticks were amazing!! Super crunchy outside and gooey inside, the olives were also very tasty. The staff were nice and helpful with helping choose what to order.

Amazing place and amazing stuff! We came here for the reviews and uau, did not disappoint. On a Sunday at 14:30 the restaurant was quite empty so we had a really cosy stay. We had the taste of the bitterballen (the beef one was the best). And the potatoes with the black truffle mayo ese 🤌🏻 Highly recommend ✨✨

If I could, I would come back tomorrow! And I say this because after trying it for the first time on Saturday Evening we went back the day after for the Sunday Lunch (our last one in the beautiful Amsterdam) 💔. The place: 10/10. So chic, cozy and lovely. The food: SOOO GOOD AND TASTY! We had all kind of Bitterballen and their french fries, so yummy 😋 Each of them is my fave. Rutger, the owner, is magic! A funny person, so kind and nice. We really liked talking with him, also because we share a passion: Italy & Bitterballen! I hope to come back here very very soon. Why I gave this place 5 starts across the board? 1) Food: I’ve never ordered a second plate despite being full. The veal was that good! 2) Service: Excellent from all the staff to the owner Roger….with attention to every detail 3) Atmosphere: Quaint, clean, authentic and beautiful!

Loved the fish of the day with the dorade and tomatoe salsa! the parsnip crips and puree was also a great surprise in taste. Love the details of the fish carafe or net on lights , and fish candy. the service was also really friendly and quick. the ceviche of seabass was fresh but in taste , a bit bland.

Great experience. The food was delicious and looked amazing. Cuisson could have been a bit more on point for most of the dishes. The gnocchi lacked a bit of depth in flavor. But overall a grear experience. Staff was super nice and the atmosphere feels Paris bistro all the way. Would go again!

This has the feel of a French bistro. Very refined and dishes that looked amazing... Food was presented to a high standard and they tasted as good as they looked. In a party of 10 the food came out quickly for us all. The monkfish was cooked to perfection. With servings of wedges on the side for the group. Personally I didn't like the butter sauce as it was a little rich for me, but I'm sure it was just the thing for most people. I still enjoyed the fish very much. I really wanted shandy to drink but they don't have lemonade (sorry not very sophisticated I know) but a local beer and a tonic water hit the spot.

The new menu is amazing. Refined and fulfilling. Love the mix of cuisines with the common denominator of fish. The soft shell crab bun was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. The staff were really friendly and really service oriented. It was fully packed and still they were all smiling and making time to have a chat and explain the menu/dishes. A really cute and lovely place if you’re keen for fish!

If you want to enjoy a quality warm sea food platser then this is the place to go! We were seated outside in the sun and it was lovely. Super nice staff but a little bit slow. D We also ordered the oysters but I was not a big fan of them, they were not super tasteful but sometimes the batch is not perfect. The warm seafood platter will I definitely come back for and for the staff experience as well.

Food was pretty good. The complimentary trout pate was delicious. Also delicious was the ceviche - the flavour of the dressing was not overpowering and the fish was fresh and plump. A little disappointed with the fish and chips. The batter was a little soggy and the serving of fish was small. However it came with an ample serving of fries and salad. Love the location away from crowds but with enough cyclists going by to have something to look at :)

Great new fish bar in Amsterdam. Highly recommend it. Nice food, fish & chips and the bisque was really nice wonderful staff & great atmosphere. Really love the place and will for sure come back. Thanks for the great evening.

In some super poshy area Leidseplein. Food is a bit too salty to my tastebuds. The staff are super gracious. A fine dining in the category. Price is a bit above average - mind you the seafood are fresh .. and mind the location, and the interior 😊 - Overall it s nice, and OK. Glad we visited.

Service is kind and efficient, but place is really too much expensive, in particular considering the quality of dishes. Impossible to take a bottle of wine, unless you want to spend at least 50 euro... and you can find the same bottle for less than 10 euro in wine shops (5 euro in Italy). I went out after spending 120 euro (2 persons) and I needed to buy something else to eat.
