This is a little gem! We stopped as our eyes caught the glimpse of their window from a cross the street , it was pretty. The shop is small but very clean and presentable, there was a huge variety of fresh creamy cakes, biscuits and chocolates. We decided to get 4 cakes to go and the lady that served us was so kind and packed them so we could enjoy them while walking . This was a treat for our taste buds, so fresh and light, full of flavour. When we go back we will definitely pay another visit and try other treats. This is definitely a place that is worth coming back to and needs to be recommended.

Unchanged since 1928 Patisserie Holtkamp holds a special place in the hearts of locals, the facade at Vijzelgracht 15 providing only a small glimpse of the treasures within its beautiful Art Nouveau interior. A tightly packed space, all four walls filled with delicacies ranging from handmade Chocolates and Cakes to packaged Confections, staff takes an old-time approach to hospitality by greeting each guest with warm smiles before boxing each item carefully. Far more than Pancakes and Syrup Waffles, a Baba in thick Syrup as sweet as it is boozy, fans of Canele will find Holtkamp nearly as good as those in Bordeaux with a generous crunch giving way to mellow Cake with the texture of Custard. Also offering Macarons and Feuilletine, tempting but not enough to replace three Chocolates including one with Honeycomb, Dutch Tompoucen comes highly recommended thanks to all the elements of a Napoleon but more Pastry Cream.

I walked past this pastry shop and got the lemon cake. It’s the best I’ve ever had. The clerk is so friendly and patiently explain each flavor to me. I would love to visit again!

Absolutely amazing! This is the kind of tourist trap that aren’t trapping 🤣 you deserve the hype! Their chocolate cookie (their only cookie) is amazingggggg even when you queue (the queue always look so long, but they’re actually so fast!) you can smell the good stuff there! It is sooooo soft in the middle, with white chocolate melting inside, and crisp on the outsidee oh God i LOVE♥️ and please eat it while it’s hot cause it’s 20000 times betterr! But don’t worry they give a very detailed way to reheat your cookie at home 🤭👍🏻 (1 cookie = 3€, 6 cookie = 15€)

So, so, so delicious! Definitely worth trying and even worth the wait. I missed out on getting a cookie on my first visit because I arrived about an hour before closing and they had already sold out. So the second time, I went 30 minutes before opening. There were only 5 to 6 groups ahead of me, but by the time it opened, around 15 to 20 groups were in the queue. I was the second one to go in and bought a box of cookies for a friend and one for myself. The cookies were amazing. The white chocolate inside added a nice twist and gave the flavor more depth. Service was fast, and you can watch the whole baking process, which makes the experience even better. 🍪🍪

Phenomenal cookie. Stopped by on a Friday morning to finally try “the best cookie in Amsterdam.” I got there about ten minutes before opening, and there were already 10–15 people in line. While waiting, I watched the bakers through the window. White aprons, trays of dough, golden decors, chocolate everywhere, and the whole scene felt straight out of one of those candy-factory montages from old movies. Once inside, the process was simple. They sell only one kind of cookie, so you just choose how many (up to two dozen per person) and whether you want them in a tin or a paper box. Since I was flying them home, I went for the tin, which seemed to be what most people did. The staff were incredibly kind. One of them even handed me the last warm cookie from the tray for free. The cookie was simple but a perfect mix of dark chocolate batter with a core of white valrhona chocolate. It had that deep roasty aroma that lingered without bitterness, and it wasn’t too sweet. I’ll admit, I’ll always measure cookies against the ones my mom baked when I was a kid, but this was the closest I’ve come to that memory of a “perfect chocolate cookie.” They even include reheating instructions, and sure enough, once I pan-warmed them back home, they somehow got even better. My only regret was not getting the full two dozen.

Simply the best cookie we have ever had. The white chocolate filling was so creamy, and fits perfectly within the soft and rich cookie. It’s no wonder the shop continues to draw the crowds with just one item on its menu!

My friends and I just happened to walk pass after shopping at Bijenkorf Amsterdam. The queue was long but we still joined in the queue. There’s only one item to purchase yet, it’s so popular. The cookie making at the workshop was an essential part for me while waiting in the queue. While my turn to purchase, the cashier worked efficiently to pack and done. Taste wise, it was good and I adored the texture if the cookies, it’s crunchy on the outside and little chewy on the inside. Not too sweet but that’s excellent for me.

Apparently, this is the must-try cookie shop in Amsterdam, so of course we had to check it out. We even skipped dessert at Bistro de la Mer just so we could try these famous cookies! When we arrived, the line was super long—but it moved really fast. It was actually fun watching the cookie makers through the window as they molded the dough by hand and pressed chunks of white chocolate into the center. Kind of like the see-through kitchen you see at Din Tai Fung, if you know what I mean. The cookies were warm, chewy, and definitely tasty. But honestly, they didn’t blow my mind. If I bake cookies at home and eat them fresh out of the oven, they’re also warm and chewy—so this didn’t feel too different. Still, it was fun to try once and worth the experience. Four cookies cost €12—not exactly cheap—but the packaging is cute, and the shop itself has a great vibe. Overall, glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Amazing apple pie served right from the oven. Along with a delicious double espresso or cappuccino, among other available beverages. If you love pie just have to come this cute little place. Will definitely come again in the near future.

Any travel guide in Amsterdam will tell you to stop by Winkel for their famous apple pie, and it’s absolutely worth it. I’m not even an apple pie fan, but this one was really, really good. The crust, the filling, everything was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Yes, there’s a long line, but they run the place like a well-oiled machine. The line moves quickly, the pies are constantly coming out fresh, and the drinks are made in no time. If you get lucky and snag a seat outside, you can enjoy your dessert while people watching. Inside seating is nice too, especially by the window, though the space itself isn’t particularly special. Still, it’s a must-try spot in Amsterdam. Definitely worth the stop for a slice of their iconic apple pie.

Great place to taste apple pie… queues can get long but they have outdoor seating too! The slices are quite big so sharing between 2 would work! Highly recommended!

Came because of the hype and a recommendation from a local friend of ours and this place’s apple pie reputation is very well deserved. We came at a good time so we were seated right away (2 people). Service was a bit slow because of the amount of people so it’s understandable. The pie itself was fantastic. No words to describe how good it was, so I rate it 10/10 for ruining apple pies for me because I don’t think I can get it anywhere else that’s this good. The coffee was good as well!

Amsterdam locals make sure you put this shop on your to-do list when in Amsterdam. It’s open until 2am and has amazing apple cake. You MUST get it with whipped cream and a hot drink (Irish coffee or hot chocolate preferred). There’s seating inside with warm cosy seating and a bathroom downstairs. Card and cash accepted. Highly recommend

Very busy, but got a seat outside on a Friday afternoon. The apple pie was delicious- warm & freshly made, and not too sweet or buttery, with the optional added bit of sweetness with the whipped cream. Could've easily eaten another slice! Great spot for people watching as well. Definitely need to hire more staff though - there were only two servers managing everything outside (taking orders, clearing up, delivering the food/drink to both eat-in and takeaway customers). They were calmly efficient, but still clearly overwhelmed from being so understaffed. Overall worth the hype, as it's a fun bustling intersection with an upbeat atmosphere. Don't know if it's legitimately the best apple pie in all of Amsterdam, but it still tastes delicious and the location feels very cozy & communal :)

It is always a pleasure to visit De Drie Graefjes. The service is constantly great and there is a tempting selection of cakes on display. Their red velvet and mash-up cake are really tasty and firm favorites of mine. The generous slices of cake are a real bonus and make it feel well worth the price.

I had a lovely experience at De Drie Graefjes. I stopped in for a drink and a slice of red velvet cake and it was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. I felt comfortable right away. It really felt like a little oasis in the middle of the busy city. The cake slices are large and incredibly delicious and the coffee is strong and well-made. I even took a slice home because it was so good! There are plenty of cozy seating areas upstairs and the free Wi-Fi makes it an easy place to relax for a while. A very charming café. I’ll definitely come back.

I usually come here for the cakes, but this time I decided to try something different and have a meal instead. Unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. I ordered the avocado toast – something I often enjoy elsewhere – but what I got was literally just dry toast with a blob of avocado slapped on top. No seasoning, no flair, just… bland. Tried to save it with some salt & peper, but no. It came with some uninspired nacho chips on the side as well, which didn’t help much either. I ended up sending it back. Apparently, you can add extra toppings (for an extra charge), but honestly, the basic version should still be decent enough to serve. There were a few other small things too, but I think this review is already long enough. Next time, I’ll happily stick to the cakes

Placed an order for my 30th bday and paid extra for the writing of “Fabulous 30”. I think the picture I uploaded says enough about the quality and the decor of the cake.. My 5 year old niece would have written it better and at least centered. 71 euros down the drain🙃

Great overall experience here at “The Three Graefjes” at the Rokin. The crew is friendly, welcoming and proactive. I was here on a Tuesday afternoon around 2PM and it was not busy at that time. The interior feels modern, with a vintage vibe. It’s clean and tidy. I wanted to try their red velvet cake, and I have to say… it was definitely tasty, not too moist, not too dry and most importantly not overly sweet! Make sure to leave some room, because the cake itself is quite heavy! If you order a drink, I recommend to order it without a lot of sugar added to it. Since the cake itself is sweet enough. Definitely recommended to try some of their delicious cakes!

Beautifully presented, well suited for photos and good taste, but lacks warmth and personal touch. Their éclairs are average, the macaroons were good.

One of the best ones in Amsterdam! Simply loved there creations. My review is dated several years back but I have tried their products many many times and consistently they have been great! Best to make a part of your celebrations or carry a few goodies on a picnic. Loved macrons, pastries, cakes, every thing!

When i asked for their best dessert I got 2 recommended... So this is a dessert showdown on which is the best. The fruity one or the caramel desert... Both desserts are amazingly well balanced and not overpowering in sweetness... Delicious and decadent... What more do you want!? So the answer to what is the best dessert? We are split wich one is better..... But since I am writing this review, I would go for the fruity one.

So far this is the best patisserie that I tried in Amsterdam I LOVE IT! All the pastries are gorgeous and as a chocolate lover I can say that also the merengue lemon pie is stunning. Service is also perfect. I hardly found that level of courtesy in other places in Amsterdam.

Found this place on google map. Had a pleasant visit today. This dessert store is soooooooo cute! They have huge alphabet chocolate which I might get one in the future for friends birthday. The macarons are delicious and so many flavors. You can only put macaron in the fridge for 5 days so I didn’t buy lots today. The mirror glaze mousse cake I got today is also delicious. The berry mousse fits so good with the chocolate base, it’s not too sweet that make you uncomfortable and you can taste some raspberry in it. Oh and the staff was really friendly. Will definitely come visit again.

Went for the carousel gimmick, but the pancakes were actually really nice. The kitchen is visible from the dining area and it was fun to watch all the pancakes being prepared through the carousel. The food was generously topped and tasted great. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of room for lunch on a Tuesday with no wait. Would recommend.

It was a good spot to try the classic Dutch pancakes as a tourist! I recommend getting a sweet one as the savory ones were somewhat uninspiring without hot sauce for me, but all were tasty! Super cute location too I loved all the carousel decor

Cute pancake Spot that attracts locals and tourists and further away from the tourists crowd. I had the traditional Dutch pancakes poffertje with egg liqueur and whipped cream. Super happy with the flavors and portion, not too sweet and a good amount of food.

Very interesting atmosphere, as you are in a carousel, as the name implies. Huge menu, fast service. Ordered Belgian waflles, was nice, but a bit dry.

We go here for the Poffertjes every time we visit Amsterdam and it never disappoints. Each order comes with 20 Poffertjes and we always order two and grab a table facing the middle for the full experience. It’s SO good!

This place is so cute and the Poffertjes were delicious! The fact that it’s in an old carousel is very charming. Though, there are definitely lots of kids running around screaming, it’s still a good time.

We had the traditional Dutch pancakes, with banana and Nutella, which were incredible. The service was fast and courteous. The atmosphere was beautiful because we sat outside in a park-like setting, and it was a beautiful day outside. I would highly recommend eating here and can't wait to return.

However, if we’re talking pure value for money, I personally feel that the red-themed shop nearby still wins. That one delivers a more satisfying experience in terms of both flavor and portion size. Still, this spot is worth trying if you’re in the area and don’t mind the wait.

Rudi's was my first experience with fresh stroopwafels and they were delicious! The waffle was thin and crispy and the filling was not overly sweet. I prefered the version without chocolate. I visited the Albert Cuyp Market on a Friday around 11 AM and there was a line for Rudi's but it moved very quickly. Note that the line is mostly uncovered so you'll be exposed to the elements. You can also buy a package of 10 stroopwafels, which makes great gifts. Just make sure if you choose to buy the metal tin for the stroopwafels, you grab a package of stroopwafels as well (otherwise you will have just paid for an empty metal tin).

Tried the original one and it was warm, crispy and delicious. Might be a little too sweet for your taste palette if you’re not a sweet tooth. Great and friendly service! Its a small truck so don’t expect any seating area!

Honestly, delicious. Is it BETTER than other places? As a tourist, it’s hard to know. Still, the food was delicious, affordable and the stall was set up for a crowd so the service was fast and efficient. Worth a visit, but don’t feel bad it you can’t make it or stop somewhere else.

The waffles were very flavorful, with a pleasant cinnamon and caramel aroma. The staff there are fantastic. Be sure to buy their waffle packages so you can enjoy the great taste even after your trip. I’m not a fan of adding unrelated toppings to waffles like many places in Amsterdam, which are often expensive, but here you can find the best classic waffle.

Generous amount of caramel & surprisingly not too sweet- however, it's nothing actually particularly special compared to others in the city, so in my opinion it's not worth waiting in the very long line. You can get equally great, freshly made stroopwafels elsewhere without the hassle. Service is very friendly however :)

It was a long-awaited visit to the original stroopwafel shop! I’ve tried so many versions over the years—even the ones from Costco—and have always been a fan. I even tried the fresh ones from Hans Egstorf once, but honestly didn’t like them (and they charge twice the price of Rudy’s!). We arrived “early,” around 10:50 a.m., before they officially opened, and there were already a few people in line. The father who founded this famous spot was such a gentleman—so kind and warm—and his son, who made my stroopwafels, was funny and just as friendly. We started with one original and one chocolate-dipped stroopwafel, plus a tin of pre-made ones to take home. After trying both, we preferred the original. We walked around a bit, then decided one tin just wasn’t enough (lol), so we went back for another fresh original and another tin to bring home. By then, the line was long, but it moved super fast. I wouldn’t say the fresh ones are necessarily better than the pre-made ones—they’re just different. The fresh ones are warm and crispy, while the pre-made ones are cold and crispy, each with its own charm. With a nice cup of coffee or tea, both are absolutely delicious. All in all, I loved the whole experience and will definitely be back next time I’m in Amsterdam. The price of €3 is very reasonable too! Note to the neighboring vendors: one of you should seriously consider selling good tea, coffee, or hot chocolate to go with Rudy’s stroopwafels instead of those ubiquitous t-shirts! Trust me—you’d do far better business. One needs a drink to go with these stroopwafels… otherwise, you might just choke from all that deliciousness! 😄

We visited Polaberry with family and had a lovely experience. The shop is beautifully decorated — soft florals, pastel tones, and a cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you want to take photos. Luckily, it wasn’t busy when we arrived, so we could really enjoy the space without feeling rushed. The chocolate-covered strawberries are gorgeous — each one carefully decorated with tiny stroopwafels, sprinkles, and edible flowers. You can tell a lot of love goes into the presentation. Taste-wise, they were light and pleasant — maybe not rich or intense, but still enjoyable, especially as a treat with tea or coffee. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but it felt worth it for the overall experience. The staff was friendly, the packaging was adorable, and it’s a great spot to visit if you’re looking for something sweet, thoughtful, and uniquely Amsterdam. Definitely a place we’d recommend for a calm break along the canals — especially if you appreciate good aesthetics and charming little finds.

Once inside, I was greeted by an array of beautifully presented desserts, each one looking as adorable as it was tempting. I decided to try a few, and while the taste leaned more towards the “pleasant and enjoyable” side rather than being mind-blowingly amazing, the overall experience was delightful.

Cute little café – we specifically walked here for the strawberries. They don’t just offer strawberries but also other small snacks. You could say it’s a bit pricey for four strawberries, but it’s not something you get every day, so it’s totally fine. The strawberries were beautifully decorated and really sweet.

Bought a box of 9 chocolate strawberries from Polaberry for €25 and they were so worth it! The strawberries were huge, super fresh, and the chocolate tasted amazing , you can tell they use really good quality ingredients. The shop itself was also so lovely and aesthetic, such a nice vibe to visit. Definitely worth visiting.

These incredible chocolate-covered strawberries exceeded all my expectations. The presentation was immaculate, the chocolate was of exceptional quality, and the strawberries were fresh and juicy. I genuinely have nothing negative to say and can’t wait to return to Amsterdam to get more. If you’ve ever tried Godiva’s chocolate-covered strawberries in London, you’ll understand why my expectations were low for trying them elsewhere. However, these were easily on par with Godiva! A perfect 5/5 all around.

Each strawberry felt like a little piece of art — beautiful to look at, and just as delicious to eat. I personally preferred the dark chocolate ones for their perfect balance of sweetness, but the pink and green ones were just too cute to resist!

Never really been sold on vegan pastries, but this place got closer than I expected. Stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday morning. Came about an hour after opening and luckily didn’t hit a line. The shop itself was tiny (3 cramped tables), and I only grabbed a seat because a kind stranger offered to give his up. There’s a bigger deli with proper seating across the canal, but the pastry selection wasn’t the same. Pistachio Raisin Cruffin – Supposedly their pistachio cruffin is the signature, but on my visit it came in this pistachio-raisin detour. The interior was plush and moist. But as some locals pointed out, they no longer use pistachio cream, so pistachio barely whispered through. More like a dressed-up raisin bread than the nutty pastry I had in mind. Pain au Chocolat Hazelnut – Don’t see a lot of twists on pain au chocolat even in trendy bakeries, but this worked. Lamination was on point, crisp outside and structured inside, and instead of the usual baton of chocolate, it came with a hazelnut mousse filling and almond chunks on top. Missing that buttery perfume of a true viennoiserie, of course, but still satisfying. The mousse ran a tad mild at first, but hidden bits of chocolate inside pulled it back nicely. Salted Pistachio Cream Latte – Clearly targeted for American tourists (and judging by the crowd, it seemed to be working). The latte itself was a bit flat though. Much like their cruffin, the pistachio cream was too faint.

I would say this bakery is a must visit for ANYONE - but particularly if you're a vegan. There's a different variety of pastries available every day and every one I tasted was crispy and flaky, with incredible flavour combinations. I ended up coming back a second time because it was too good! (Only con is very limited seating indoors, although you can get a drink at the pub opposite where there's more seating.)

This is a pastry shop with very limited seating. You’ll have to wait in line a bit, and they only serve croissants and coffee. It was good—not a “5-star amazing” experience, but an ordinary, nice taste. Instead of the classic, it might be better to try the pistachio or almond ones, at least you really get the flavor. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop, but it’s not a “wow” kind of place.

A vegan bakery gem for pistachio lovers Saint-Jean is an incredible vegan bakery. I tried the pistachio cruffin, and as a true pistachio fan, I can honestly say it had the best pistachio filling I’ve ever tasted. The filling was rich, full of flavor, and there was plenty of it — no stingy portions here! The dough was just as impressive: perfectly baked, soft yet flaky. A must-visit spot if you love pastries, vegan or not.

Fortunately, I went at a time when there was hardly any queue. The pistachio cruffin was definitely a highlight—flaky, crunchy, creamy and nutty. On the other hand, the yogurt berry toast was disappointing, The toast itself was quite dry, and the combination with the yogurt icing felt mismatched—the textures clashed, and the flavors didn’t come together as well as I’d hoped. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the visit.

I stumbled upon this gem in Amsterdam and was pleasantly surprised to find two shops right across from each other — both with the same name, but each offering something different. One specializes in desserts, while the other focuses on savory items. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or salty, this place has you covered. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Everything was goed. I was craving a carrot cake, this was the nearst decent café to my location. Nice staff, cozy sfeer and the carrot cake didn't disappoint me. You can work or study as you enjoy your delicious dessert. The cardamom chai latte is a most try 👌 Min point: drinks are a bit expensive

Went to this place a couple of time and still in love! Cakes would be better if less sweet, but im Asian so it might be because of my personal taste. The vibe here is comfortable and kinda energetic. It’s also laptop & dog friendly which I enjoy muchh. 100% will come back. Their chocolate cakes are next level!

We love this place, and always get vegan party options here for our son who is alergic to dairy. To be honest everybody is jealous of his allergy when they see him with his sea salt and chocolate cake! The drinks are very nice and different too, and the place small but cozy. I have been religiously ordering cakes online from Sea Salt Chocolate and they have been the best we have ever had. Their double chocolate and salted caramel flavours stand out, I have yet to have a more tasty chocolate flavoured cake and it's no exaggeration! They are so very yummy that I have never seen a cake being devoured completely before the party ends and guests asking for more!Thanks to the Sea Salt Chocolate team for always delivering the best on time and excelling year after year in the yumminess of their cakes.

Came there on a rainy Monday and the place got me at hello. The smell was absolutely nice and the atmosphere ummmm so warm and cozy it felt like another world inside. We entered when the staff was calligraphing with her handwriting and yh I understand why they made so scrumptious treats (she said they had baking team but let me take this as an impression) We had 1 of the best selling cakes, a sticky toffee pudding, and the fresh baked cookies smell sold us 2. During our visit to Amsterdam, we stopped by Van Wonderen Stroopwafels — a charming and well-known spot that’s certainly touristy, but still worth a visit. Depending on the time of day, you might find a long line wrapped around the corner or be able to walk right in. We sampled a few flavors — butterscotch, hazelnut crunch, caramel, and crispy delight. Each was freshly made, warm, and layered with just the right balance of sweetness and crunch. Our favorite was definitely Crispy Delight, with its perfect texture and rich flavor. That said, it’s definitely on the pricey side — €11 for a small and €13 for a medium — but for a first-time experience, it felt like a fun (and tasty) indulgence that lived up to the hype.

A quick and convenient stop for a treat with a gooey caramel syrup in the centre, but be prepared for the price. The staff were very friendly and the stroopwafels were presented beautifully, making for a great photo opportunity. However, the prices are clearly set for tourists. While the experience was pleasant, the cost makes it a place I wouldn't return to.

For a mini waffle, they charge a hefty €11, which is quite pricey. This might be the reason behind the low rating.

Cute little shop, not very big. When I went, it wasn’t crowded at all. The stroopwafel I ordered came topped with Oreo. I thought it was delicious for the first 2–3 bites😅😂, but after that it got a bit too sweet for me because the caramel filling was quite rich. One piece is best shared between 2–3 people.

This place is nothing but an overpriced tourist trap. I paid €11 for a stroopwafel that tasted no different than a €2 supermarket version – overly sweet, flat, and absolutely not worth the hype. What shocked me even more was the disgusting hygiene. The entire floor was sticky and covered in crumbs, the counters were filthy with syrup and toppings scattered everywhere, and the staff uniforms were stained. Employees were preparing food with their hair not properly tied back, leaning over open ingredients while talking and breathing directly onto the food. The stroopwafels are not kept in any hygienic or closed environment – they just sit exposed while staff and customers crowd inside. It’s clear this place focuses only on looking good for Instagram photos with chandeliers and “fancy” decor, but behind the counter it’s a complete mess. Watching my food being made in such an unhygienic environment was honestly disturbing. Amsterdam has far better options: at local markets like Albert Cuyp you’ll find stroopwafels that are fresh, authentic, hygienic, and sold at a fair price. Avoid Van Wonderen at all costs – overpriced, dirty, unsanitary, and disappointing.

Small shop with very friendly staff. We wanted to try fresh stroopwafels, and the taste is hardly comparable – not too sweet and nicely warm. You can also choose a topping, and we even took some home in a cute tin. Still a bit pricey.

Came here and tried the bread pudding which was unfortunately a poor choice. It was just a block of bland stodge! It really had no flavour at all, including the icing on top, which is a shame because I loveee a bread pudding. Maybe a poor pick from our part, hence why I’ve only ducted one star.. All the other pastries looked delightful, service was efficient and the place has a real buzz to it. I’ll be back, just not for the bread pudding 🥲

Omg,the staff were so friendly and really took good care of the customers. Sometimes when I go to places, I come across employees who are superficial and not genuinely friendly, but Fort Negen was completely different. Their miso cookie, kaas croissant, and of course their almond chocolate croissant are the best!

4.5/5 The almond croissant has a high butter content, making it crispy and flaky, but the pastry itself is rather flat and the air pockets aren’t very noticeable. There’s a generous amount of almond cream, and it’s not too sweet. I really like it. The cruffin, on the other hand, wasn’t as impressive. The sugar on the outside was a bit too sweet and overpowered the buttery aroma of the pastry, and it wasn’t as crispy as I expected. The filling had more fruit jam than cream.

A very popular local one! Also you can see a long queue in the shop. They offer many options with bread, pastries, ice cream and others. I wanna have a cruffin but they only serve them on weekends. Instead I took a choco almond croissant and kombucha. The croissant is very different from the ones in France, here they are more crispy, and idk if it’s common the one I bought had two layers. The filling is rich, I can taste so many chocolate. I saw a lot of locals they bought 4 or 5 bags, so I think the bread should be good too! Recommend to come and have a try!

Very good bakery with tasty croissants, they also sell bread. The most tasty one was almond-chocolate croissant, the best one i tried so far, i went today to buy one more, but it wasn’t available, and took chocolate one which was also fresh and crispy Cheese croissant and classic ones is also very fresh and tasty, very recommended

Finally I visited this bakery. The place is cute and the service is high. There is a very good choice of sweet baked goods like cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolate, many types of croissants, gluten free brownies and bread ofc. I took an almond croissant which was good, rich but still a bit on the heavy side for me when it comes to butter.. But this is typically dutch,overall was good, just not my taste completely so I will try something different next time. The brownie was delicious, I will take it again for sure. They bake the goods in front of you and you can see the ladies knitting the dough live from the windows shop

This place is insane—in the best way! They have the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had in my life. Everything else I tried was also incredibly good. If you’re anywhere nearby or not nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t regret it!

I bought yesterday a box of 6 cinnamon roll, it looked delicious but unfortunately they all tasted the same. It's very very sweet, full of sugar in the roll and the icing. Even my young daughter that loves sweets couldn't finish half a cinnamon roll. Really disappointing.. 😔

So delicious! Couldn’t believe they were vegan! They are soft but not airy- which makes them so filling and delicious, unlike Cinnabon or American cinnamon rolls I’ve had, that just felt like you ate air a second after, which made it super unsatisfying even while eating, but not like that with these! Some flavors we loved more and some less, but definitely would come again. I loved the original one the best!!

Every now and then I get surprised by a vegan bakery. I've never had a good vegan cinnamon roll before. But leave it to the wonderful bakers at Have a Roll to change my mind. This was a great experience and I loved the rolls we had. The apple pie topping was so unique and delicious. I highly recommend you stop here if you're in Amsterdam and grab a delicious Cinnamon Roll!

Fantastic cinnamon buns, probably the best in Amsterdam out of all cinnamon rolls i tried. They made it fresh, and nothing can exceed the taste of freshly baked bun in a winter rainy day. Go with the original roll, it’s already so good, if you want something different, I would recommend pistachio or pecan mixed. Besides that i have to give them a credit for a really nice, welcoming service and excellent store design.

Highly recommended! They have multiple choices of cinnamon roll and it tastes really good. Coffee is also good which is an important one next to this dessert. Place is small but you can also enjoy outside if the weather is nice. I got the one with cafe cream and liked it!

Great place to stop in and try an amazing and seemingly authentic dutch pancake! I’ve had several of their options, Pancake with Bacon, Cheese, Mushroom and/or Onion is my favorite. Any pancake choice is good though. The poffertjes were not my favorite (a little bit “soft” or wet, looked like banana slices). They have outdoor seating when it’s nice weather and the inside has plenty of seating and rooms.

Highly recommended! We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, as follows in decreasing order: - french onion soup (very generous with the cheese) - bread with garlic spread (rich and creamy) - Norwegian pancake (not quite what we expected for the dough but the filling was tasty) We were lucky we can slightly earlier (around 5pm on a Saturday) as the crowds and queue outside started building after a while.

Tried the autumn special pancake - super delicious! The beetroot pancake doesn’t have the raw taste of beetroot usually has - instead the pancake base is mildly sweet and tastes like figs. Service is very attentive. Perfect way to end the day!

Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor, presentation, and overall quality — which was very unexpected. The bread was cut too thick and had no taste, it wasn’t toasted or spread with butter. Adding simple touches such as garlic butter, cheese sauce, or other flavor elements could make a big difference. All three dishes we ordered were completely bland. These days, it’s easy to find inspiration online for improving flavor and presentation, and I believe there is definitely room for improvement.

We had a tasty brunch here on a Sunday morning. My only wish was that the wait list system worked because I tried to join the wait list as we were walking there and it wasn't working... Of course we arrived and the place was full so we could only add ourselves once we got there. This meant that we could only get bar seats which was a bit tight for space. Aside from the seating situation the food itself was great. We got the Navajo Eggs and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were delicious and had a good balance of fresh ingredients with savoury elements.

Everything is delicious and fresh, especially the pancakes. The portion sizes are good. Coffee and matcha latte was also good. Quick and friendly service. Highly reccomend and would visit again =)

I ordered the B&R Special with extra avocado instead of bacon. The eggs and bread were delicious, and the butter elevated the whole dish. The orange juice was fresh, but the pancakes were underwhelming compared to the rest. Nice atmosphere and excellent service, overall, a solid 5 stars despite the pancakes.

This beautiful little bakery makes the most amazing looking and tasting baked good! The owner and her team efficiently handle the store and it's many many walk in customers. And the food is truly heavenly! Every 10 minutes you can watch a new tray of delicious baked goods being taken across from the kitchen to the display window 🙂

All their products are amazing. You can easily buy the products we tried. The soup of the day was eggplant soup. It may look a bit strange, but it tasted delicious. The service might be a bit slow, but we go there to be calm and relaxed. So it was a very nice experience for us.

AMAZING!! I’m so happy I found this place, we ended up coming back twice! This little place is small on the inside, but they do have an upstairs as well. The windows are lined with fresh pastries and baked goods. Delish!! They have a tiny patio with 3 tables that is right over the canal! Luckily we got to sit there and people watch, while enjoying our breakfast. Coffees were amazing. Baked goods, so fresh and delicious. We ended up eating some sandwich’s as well, tuna melt was excellent. The have homemade jams which we took some home with us! Overall this place was a perfect breakfast/lunch spot

Lovely stop for cake and coffee. I was walking back to my hotel and desired something sweet. While I had hoped for an apple pie they did have a tasty banana and walnut cake with cream cheese whip. The cake was amazing. Moist and perfectly balanced. Hot chocolate going with it was also great. Service was ok however they were very quick to tell me that they were closing in 15min. They were already in the packing up process. Overall a good experience and I would visit again.

Not really my cup of tea… I don’t go crazy for cakes unless they’re really good. I had the red velvet cupcake and I think it was overly sweet for me. Prices are obviously quite high given the very central location close to Dam square. Staff was okay, bonus point for the cosy vibe upstairs. I’d not recommend coming here unless you’re a tourist and wanna do tourist stuff, there surely are much more local and characteristic places you can go to other than an American bakery

A very nice and fast service with a friendly staff. Perfect for a brunch right next to Dam Square. Their terrace has no sun due to the church but it’s just as enjoyable as any other terrace in the city. We chose the hangover sandwich and the tosti with a cappuccino, everything was very tasty. I really recommend

The most amazing Dutch apple pie I have ever had! Wonderful lemonade, great service. Glad I do not have this place in my hometown, I would 100lbs heavier! This is a must visit on our next trip to Amsterdam.

Shockingly Disappointing Experience I’ve been coming here for years, but sadly it’s nowhere near what it used to be. My friend and I ordered pancake stacks with bacon. The bacon was fine, but the pancakes were completely stone cold, as if they’d just been taken straight from the packet and put on the plate. We politely mentioned it to the waitress, who was very understanding and apologetic. Our plates were taken back to the kitchen, and we even felt bad because we’d already poured maple syrup on them, assuming they’d have to make two new portions. Unfortunately, they didn’t. When the meals returned, the pancakes had clearly just been microwaved, the same pancakes, same plates. The syrup residue and sticky edges were still there, and they’d simply wiped off the excess and reheated everything before adding the bacon back on top. The “fresh” plates were still wet with our original syrup. We finished our food quietly and decided to politely let the manager know that reheating and re-serving food like that is completely unacceptable. Instead of showing concern, he seemed irritated that we even mentioned it, displaying zero professionalism or empathy. Sadly, this place has lost a long-time regular customer. I’ll be taking my breakfast business meetings elsewhere from now on.

Hot dog was tasty but obviously you can get better! Quality of the meat was average, size of the dog was medium and price large! The milk shake was decadent. Overall I think one can get a better hot dog meal in Amsterdam.

The dogs and burgers here are simply delicious, they have a extensive menu including amazing milkshakes, my favorite: Oreo 😍 I know it is not the healthiest food but once in a while it doesn’t hurt. Excellent food for a very good price. It was very nicely served by a kind waitress. The hot dogs were delicious, as were the milkshakes. The fries were good though it definitely needs some sauce with it. The onion rings were okay. They opted for lots of tiny onion rings. I myself prefer a few larger onion rings instead. One improvement point is the lack of salt and pepper shakers on the table. I personally like to pepper my fries.

Stopped in early on a Saturday, and had the best meal I've had in Amsterdam in quite a long time. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, and fantastic service. I ordered the Mac n cheese dog; garlic Parmesan fries; and pistachio shake. I was a Mac n cheese snob in a previous life, but WOW theirs really impressed me! Cheesy, with a great noodle texture that elevated the hot dog experience- I definitely want to go back just to try the Mac n cheese bites sometime. The loaded fries were so, so good; crispy fries that paired well with the garlic and cheese flavors. The shake wasn't quite as mind blowing as the rest, but it was still very good! It made me so happy to see pistachio as an option. It wasn't as thick as your traditional American milkshake, but that's not a bad thing. The waiters were very attentive without being overbearing- I never had to flag anyone down, they always came over and checked on me. Obviously the food is a bit on the heavier side here, but you should be expecting that from this kind of restaurant-- and believe me, it's worth it! 100% coming back here again, and you should too!

If you love to try out hotdogs with an interesting twist definitely try out this place! the atmosphere is very cozy and the food is really good too. The hot dogs are priced appropriately and tasted delicious, along with the Jalapeño poppers. The tea & lemonade were not too sweet and tasted refreshing. Will definitely come again to try new hotdog flavors!

I visited a chocolate shop in downtown Amsterdam and had such a great experience. The chocolates were absolutely amazing in taste, and the atmosphere of the shop was warm and inviting. The lady who helped me was so kind and patiently showed me all the different chocolates. A lovely experience highly recommended!

This place makes very good Stroopwafels with honey. The poppy seeds dessert, the ginger almonds and the Oliebll were also very good. There is a place to sit inside and coffee is available. The service isn't the friendliest out there especially towards newcomers. Highly recommended nonetheless.

I heard a lot about their Stroopwafel, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. It was way too hard, super crunchy, cold and pretty much tasteless. Definitely not what I was expecting. And for the price? Totally not worth it. I really don’t get the hype. As someone who’s tried pastries all over Asia and Europe, I can confidently say this was one of the most overrated ones I’ve had in my life. I was expecting something maybe a bit softer (?), warmer, or at least flavorful, but instead, it was just a plain, sugary crunch with no real taste. The cappuccino was also pretty cold, which was really disappointing. As someone who has lived in Italy for years, this felt like a huge disappointment to what a proper cappuccino should be. It’s not just about the taste—it’s about the experience, and serving it lukewarm just ruins it. Not trying to be rude, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are way better options out there for pastries or a sweet breakfast, specially if you already have tried good pastries in other European countries or Asia.

It is located on the back parallel street to the famous Damrak Street. Prices start from 1.6 euros. It consists of a mixture of cream and ice cream. Credit cards are definitely not accepted, only cash. The owner is surly and uninterested. They prepare the ice cream without wearing gloves. The place is very small. There are also small desserts other than ice cream, but I couldn't ask what it contains because the owner is very surly. You can ask for ice cream in a cone or with a waffle. I think the price-performance was not good. They should learn how to treat tourists well and hygiene conditions immediately. Owner didn't give a receipt even though he took the money in cash.

A very unique ice cream experience. This is a VERY small spot with no seating indoor or out. The menu offerings are very minimal. The staff was very friendly. This is CASH ONLY. There was a line out the door. The whole thing felt like the Seinfeld soup episode. All that being said, I would highly recommend. The taste of the ice cream was like nothing I’d had before. More like a whipped cream than an ice cream. A must try experience if in Amsterdam city centre.

Make a reservation, as it’s always very busy. The location is beautiful—calm and green, a peaceful spot in the city. The interior is very cozy, and when the weather is nice, it’s amazing to sit outside and enjoy the garden. Food: It seems like the prices have gone up while the portion sizes have decreased. The Chuck Norris sandwich costs €18, which feels quite high for what you get. I had the savoury kadaif—it's a nice and unique dish, but again, I think €16 is too much. The prices of the 'Sides' are also not in proportion. 5 euro for a smashed avocado! They usually offer a wide variety of desserts, but unfortunately, there weren’t many left. We ordered the apple pie, which tasted great, but the portion was very small. Overall, it was a nice experience. However, I’d suggest reviewing the portion sizes, and the service could definitely be a bit quicker.

Great menu with a lot of variety for breakfast / lunch options. Great vegetarian options. I really like the location - good indoor and outdoor space surrounded by greenery. Would suggest reserving as it gets very busy on the weekends.

The food was delicious, we ordered the savory Dutch and the brave basque and they were both very good. New options that we had not ordered before. June was a magnificent server and she gave us great advice when ordering and about Amsterdam in general. The place is super cozy and nice. I recommend making reservations as it gets quite busy in weekends. I have also had the kale hash poached eggs which I think have been my favorite so far. I will definitely be back to try more things. We came here based on all the reviews and also based on a recommendation from an acquaintance. But honestly, we thought the food was just ok. Average and really nothing to rave about.

I really liked the atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor areas are lovely. I do think the prices are way too high for the portion sizes. The flavours did not blow me away. The plating was nice but I felt that the quality of the food could be improved. I had the baguette with bresaola, which could have easily been elevated with a sourdough. I think it’s very basic compared to the price although the ambience was nice.

As much as we had hopes of liking the food, it failed. Service was just horrible. We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order after we flagged them down and waited another 30 minutes for drinks, receiving a cold coffee which was clearly sitting somewhere. Food finally arrived after an hour and a half to find eggs Benedict that was over cooked, more hard boiled than poached and a sauce that was overly acidic. Safe to say, skip this location and try something more efficient.

Nice bakery. Plenty of options, and everything look freshly made. Fast and easy service. Price also varies from cheap to pricey.

Great bakery. Only gripe is how long it took to be served. There ins't really a queue. Its impossible to tell if people are waiting to place their order or if they're waiting for their food. Not much space to sit and eat either. Plus they're super stingy with napkins. Aside from all that, the baked items themselves are delicious. Probably not the best I've ever had but definitely better than most bakeries I've been to in the US. Fantastic location.

Great stop for quick breakfast and coffee before hitting the museums. I had a quiche, croc monsieur, a lemon tart and coffee and everything was good, ~€20 total, no tables only about 6 seats against the wall.

Super Yummy Croissant! Tasty and crispy crust. I can eat it every day^^ The best thing is they heat up the croissants for us🥰 The raspberry tart is also nice. The walnut tart is good but the shell is a bit on the hard side. Highly recommend! Will definitely go back and try something else tmr🤩

Raspberry muffin was pretty basic (I was told it has raspberry filling but it didnt, maybe staff is misinformed) but the mango cheesecake was super yummy.

Finally decided to see what the hype is about and let me say this: the hype is REAL. The New York cheesecake alone is worth the visit. Incredible texture, creamy and insanely delicious. Best NY cheesecake I have eaten so far in The Netherlands. Spiros is very kind and friendly. You can definitely tell he has good knowledge about his craft. And this shines through in every cheesecake. Would highly recommend!

Excellent cheesecake!! You have both baked and non-baked cheesecake and all of them are delicious. You have different flavours and themes to choose from. Nice cheesecake, not blown away. Cool that he makes different cakes every day. I think the prices are high for what the place looks like, it’s mainly for take away and there are limited seating options. In the summer you can sit outside on the bench, which is cool.

Was recommended to Cheesy cakes by one of my best mates. Tried the baked matcha and baked caramel and coffee. Both cheesecakes had the perfect balance of flavours, texture and consistency. The cream was creamy yet light enough not to leave a sickly feeling once eaten. Customer service was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the best cheesecakes around. Wanted to try the basque but it was sold out unfortunately 😞

This is an experience to be tried absolutely in Amsterdam! We tried two cheese cakes that recalled the characteristics of Greece and Germany. Mariatos was a super host, he explained in detail every one of his creations. Grazie mille

Absolute must when visiting Amsterdam!! Spyro’s cheesecakes are the best we have ever eaten!! There is a selection of different types and flavours, which is difficult because you want to try them all!! We visited about 5 years ago and had to come back again because it was that good!😊 Spyro is very friendly, kind and passionate about what he does which shows, we forgot to post the post card years ago but will definitely send it back this time!! Small cheesecake shop near city centre, on one of the small quiet side streets. Takeout only. I ordered a cake to collect and the whole process was really smooth. The owner will email you back once he's received the order, and you dont need to pay any deposit. All card types are accepted in store. The cheesecake was a decent size, but rather than a glamourous/fancy cake, it was more of a homey cake. Great for close families. The owner gave me some candles for the cake, which was nice. In terms of the cake, it was good - not the best I've had to be honest but decent. Personally, it wasn't cheesy enough, and the base wasn't buttery enough, but this is personal preference. I was told everything was homemade and fresh.

Gorgeous bakery, lovely staff, but everything I tried was meh… The photo of the rhubarb crumble shows how much filling there is vs the dough.. madeleines were to big and fluffy, tasted like muffins, the sardine breads was lackluster and the puffy dough had no character or taste, the teeny baguette was alright.. It’s ok but (a) I wouldn’t travel across Amsterdam for this, and (b) I won’t return

Le Fournil is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves real French bread and pastries. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the wonderful smell of freshly baked baguettes, croissants, and other traditional treats. Everything is made authentically, and you can really taste the difference in quality. Their croissants are perfectly buttery and light, exactly how they should be. The pains au chocolat are consistently excellent too—crispy on the outside and rich on the inside. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. In short: a little piece of France that you’ll want to keep coming back to.

On our last day in Amsterdam, I stopped by this bakery after reading the great reviews online — and it truly lived up to the praise! There was still a good selection at 5.30pm, maybe because of the poor weather. I was happy to pick up croissants (€2), a whole apple tart (€15), financiers, canelés, and a rhubarb tart. Everything was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and packed everything up nicely. Highly recommended!!

I’ve got Cigalou (with olives and sun-dried tomatoes) and financier today. Both were extremely tasty, cigalou is very soft, but still flavorful and yummy. However, i came for croissants and it’s not nice at all to have them out of stock at 15:55, when it’s french bakery and it’s open till 19:00. And service must definitely be improved, it was noisy and crowded in store, so i can barely hear and the guy at the counter served me with a bit of sarcasm and reluctance, which wasn’t really nice

Loved the Pavlova. It was fluffy, light, and there was no eggy taste/smell. Be prepared for a long wait tho!

THE best bakery in all of the Netherlands in my opinion. Freshest, fluffiest, most delicious pastry. Brioche buns they have are phenomenal, and their rhubarb crumble is excellent.

One of the best cafes I've been in Amsterdam. The sandwiches, especially the PLT, were fantastic and the Italian carrot cake is one of the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely come back someday for the afternoon tea.

Absolutely fantastic service, the chai latte was incredible and the chocolate cake was to die for. My sister had the apple and almond cake and really enjoyed hers as well. We visited after a walk through the park from Molenwerf and it was just wonderful. Definitely would visit Amsterdam again just to have their latte and cake again.

The coffee and food was nice, but maybe the day we were there one of employees had a bad day… It made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. Our server was cold and not smiling, When I tried to start a small talk (think of conversations like where are from, how long do you live in Amsterdam etc (I am not Dutch myself)) it only made it worse. I worked with customers myself, so I used to smile to everyone and having a small conversation. For the rest is cozy cafe with delicious vegan food but I am afraid I won’t be willing to come back, which is the shame…

Awesome experience, nice and cozy interior with great food and even greater Cappuccino! The service was impeccable and we would gladly visit again (which we did during our vac). The fritata and PLT get a straight 10/10 from me. It's all vegan, too!

It's an AMAZING place to have a brunch, to chill, to drink something hot in cold days. The decoration is beautiful, the girls are so welcoming and the food OMG!!!!!!! We are so grateful to have this cafe with delicious baked goods nearby! We always fantasize about the cookies and brownies here. The ambiance is so warm and charming. Great place with lots of grilled and barbecue options. Very tasty and of course halal. Pastry 🍰 options are amazing. Haven for sweet lover really recommend. Keep in mind finding a parking spot is difficult in the evening.

I don’t know how it’s possible. The rate is so high is definitely definitely. It is over rate plus yes employees or nice friendly how possible they doesn’t have WiFi N I know how Turkish tea tease unfortunately it’s not fresh. I asked them to make it black coffee unfortunately I don’t think I will come back again by the way, so maybe they sold out or they don’t have some item on the which is in the menu.

Hi , I like the place, music and some dishes like KABAB and Trilitcha so much but I ordered Warm chocolate milk, it was not good , it is like hot water with a little sugar, I don't recommend it at all..I asked to change it ,they gave me an other glas but unfortunately It was the same..😤.. My experience at this café was not up to my expectations. The service was quite slow, which slightly spoiled the experience. As for the quality of the products, it was disappointing, especially the pastries. I particularly advise against ordering it, they were overly sweet and for the baklava or künefe of rather average quality comparing with the prise. In my opinion, it’s possible to find much better options nearby, especially with the presence of several similar establishments in the area.

Absolutely delicious turkish desserts!! Definitely recommend the different baklavas and künefe with turkish ice cream. The tres leches was pretty good too, but we might have had a corner piece since the cake portion was pretty thin. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place but make sure to make a reservation as it can get very busy!

It’s perfect if you want to taste real Turkish food without going there. Everything tasted exactly as it would taste in Turkey and the quality is great! Highly recommend! It’s a lil pricey though, but honestly I think it’s worth it. I also love that you can sit under the heater outside when it rains.

Way too expensive, 6.09 EURO for A cookie!!!??? And also kind of scamming, no price labels for the expensive cookies, for the cookie itself just a very sweat dough, with lots of chocolate sauce , u can definitely find one to replace it in your own area.

At first glance, these cookies might not look like much. On the outside, they resemble a New York bagel. But don't let that fool you. They are dense, sweet, amazing cookies! It's hard to finish one in one sitting. Each bite takes effort (in a good way). I recommend to eat it slowly, and each cookie can be easily shared without feeling you missed out on it.

Great variety of good flavors. Of course, they are price, but they are actually huge and very heavy. The dough itself has a nice flavor not like ordinary cookies, more cakeish I guess. Unfortunately, we were too greedy and didn’t put them in the microwave as suggested

we arrived to the place totally accidently as we were looking for a vegan desert. never expected to be one of the most delicious vegan desert/coockie we ever tasted ! wow incredible and so uniqe. exceptional !, highly recommend as must visit point for foodies while in Amsterdam.

A small stuffed cookies and donuts shop with different flavors. We tried the red velvet cookie and it was good but not as fresh as we would have preferred, possibly because we went there one hour before the shop closes (around 7 pm) and they make their cookies in the morning. I would give it 3.5 stars but it’s not an option.

Amazing bakery - we had the Palestinian savory danish and the ham & cheese croissant and it was absolutely delicious. We will be dreaming of the croissant tonight - it tasted exactly how it looked: flaky but not crumbly, buttery, flavorful. The matcha was perfect too. Would be nice if there more possibilities to sit, as there are just a few benches inside and outside - but if kept in mind it is totally fine. We will be back soon! It’s a must try for vegans and non-vegans 💚

Dairy allergy safe ✅!!! All vegan bakery. I've been to quite a lot of vegan bakeries at this point, and I'd honestly say the pistachio rose danish here was the best pastry I've ever had. I also got the cheese croissant which was also amazing. I went with my friend two days in a row on our trip because it was that good (and got the pistachio one both days). I'm deathly allergic to dairy so it's always a really nice treat when I can eat at 100% vegan places without my normal allergy anxiety!! But my friend who isn't vegan loved it just as much. The lattes were great as well. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!

This place is just phenomenal when it comes to 🥯 I just had the most delicious Palestinian pastry with cheese and herbs ! So so aromatic and delicious! Also I had to try their apple saluted caramel danish and was fire 🔥! Highly recommended when in Amsterdam !

Really nice vegan bakery, small variety but they all looked delicious. We had I think 6 different ones which as vegans we can't find in many places, like the croissants. I would have preferred if the cheese croissant had a little more filling, and the same with the pain au chocolat. They were all delicious though, and really reasonable prices. It didn't have many places to sit just two seats outside and one on the inside, so it's more a to go place. Would totally recommend!!

Love the croissants here! All gluten free so we got a few to try. The ham and cheese is delicious, very smokey meat which we loved. The original is lovely. We also got the almond which was a bit too sweet for our taste. Also tried the stroopwaffle but wasn't keen. Would love to try the bread rolls as they look very yummy. Busy and small so we got it to take away and went to the park. It was already very busy by 10.30am.

Absolutely delicious! This is one of the best croissants I have ever had (even before the celiac diagnosis). Prices are very reasonable and everything I had was incredible— highly recommended the ham and cheese croissant but you really can’t go wrong. Everything being gluten free is a dream come true! Gluten free croissants are near impossible to find, so happy this exists! Totally worth the trip over here if you are in Amsterdam and are celiac!

This was the best croissant I have ever eaten! And I couldn’t believe it was gluten free! When I took my first bite of the croissant, it was so good that I had to immediately go back inside to double check that it was actually gluten free and then buy a second croissant! I would love to know how they manage to make it so light and delicious! Even my gluten-eating family said it was one of the best croissants they had ever eaten and we had just come from Paris.

We came across this bakery by chance and had to wait about 20 minutes to get in the shop to place an order. There were three ladies working in the bakery at time we visited they did work hard, our coffee was served pretty quickly as well as the delicious food we ordered. Bakery products were fantastic and coffee was tasty too. There are very limited seating available if you'd like to have food & the drink on premises. The day we were there, June 5th happened to be Cafe's birthday they were offering some modest discount on the purchases. Nice food, recommended.

A bakery where I could eat anything - a coeliac’s dream! So many pastry options (for good prices too) and lovely coffee. Minimal seating inside but we managed to get the lovely sofa by the window. Absolutely come to this bakery!

The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I tried the shakshuka, and it was amazing — adding the spicy sauce gave it a perfect extra flavor. We also tried the flan cake, which was delightful as well. The coffee was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend visiting this place!

Absolutely amazing sourdough, the texture is divine! Very stretchy, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. Highly recommend the za'atar spiced loaf- perfectly balanced between the delicious spice mix without overpowering the subtly flavour of the bread itself, combined with the nuttiness of the sesame seed topping that gives a rich tahini/peanut butter nuttiness :)

Great spot, it’s a bakery and resto. They have great breakfast and lunch options. Since they bake their own breads, croissants, etc they are delicious. We went twice in 3 days. Staff is nice and it can get “busier” but we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for a table.

The food is amazing, no matter what you order they really know how to prepared each dish in a way that you can imagine. You can sit or take away, but if you have the time and there is no line, sit and enjoy this amazing place. If you don’t like spicy, asked for the brioche without kimchi and the mayo in a side, you won’t regret!!!

Good location, good seating, which is rare in the area. The bread was good would’ve loved it if they had some toasted options. The buratta one was very refreshing and light. I was very exited for the chicken but the flavor was a little monotone. It was mainly bbq sauce but not really captivating. The cabbage didn’t really add something. Maybe some pickles would be better idk. Also tried the matcha cookie from the bakery sadly that one was dissapointing. Weird texture and not the cookie u would have in mind. But the place has good options and its clear they put a lot of effort. If they would make some tiny adjustments it would be perfect!

Incredible award-winning chocolates! The owners were incredibly nice, gracious, helpful and knowledgeable. Ian gave us so many free samples and little bits and explained every chocolate we we looking at to us. The chocolate is unreal and actually incredible: Even the 100% cacao is incredibly creamy and delicious. The chocolate is single origin, which makes it even more delicious, and, even better, is ethical and fairtrade. Thank you so much Ian and we will definitely be coming back!

This is a great shop by any and all definition. The owners were quick to greet me and inquire about my tastes, then offer me samples of what I thought I might enjoy. They really made sure I left well-informed and happy about my purchases. I was even able to describe what my wife's tastes were so they could find something I could bring back for her to enjoy, which she ultimately did. Both owners are very nice and I really enjoyed talking with them during my visit. They are very kind and knowledgeable people. Sometimes you can just tell when people are passionate about thier craft, and I felt that here. Drop by this shop if you're looking for some great chocolate, you won't miss.

One of the most beautiful chocolate shops ever. Beautifully located on the canal, 5 minutes walk from the central station. The place stands out, you can’t walk past it without stopping. The variety and quality of chocolate is of the highest level. The shop owner is so helpful, informative and patient. If you love chocolate, you will love this place. They make their own chocolate and they also sell products from Dutch companies as well. They also have organic soap bars, spices, honey, candles. Highly recommended 👍🏼

No bs the best and most unique chocolate I’ve ever tasted. Trust me when I say you haven’t had actual chocolate till you’ve came here. Ran by some of the most genuine wholesome folk, shout out Salome and Ian🙏. Coming here, tasting and learning about chocolate was a beautiful highlight to my trip in Amsterdam. Couldn’t recommend enough, must stop!!!

The chocolate is delicious and ethically sourced while still being affordable, and you might even get to try some samples :) Salomè and her partner, Ian, were some of the first people I spoke to in Amsterdam and they were incredibly welcoming and kind. If I ever come back to Amsterdam, this store will be one of my first stops 😁

Decent selection of fine Chocolate given that space isn't that big. Very pleasant and knowledgeable mistress. A nice little gem in the middle of coffee shops mist :) very close to Amsterdam Central. They accept credit cards and even make their own chocolate :) You can sample some selected bars. Highly recommend it.

It was a very hot day. Actually, one of the first hot and sunny days of 2021. We took our inline skates and enjoyed the weather. Suddenly we both craved ice cream. I opened up google maps and searched for ice cream shops nearby. One was a ‘normal’ ice cream shop, the other was IJsmanschap. We were hesitating but wanted to try something new. Oh… we were glad we did! First of all, the service was really good. She was very friendly and explained us the options that we had. We chose the Chocolate Hazelnut and the Lemon Cheesecake flavour. Both were dipped in delicious white chocolate. One topped with crispy almonds, the other with crispy caramel hazelnuts. The structure of the ice cream was really good. The taste was even better. The inside was creamy. The outside had a bite and the toppings were very crispy/crunchy. Together it was… heaven for a moment. Even though it may be considered pricy for most folks (9€ for two ice creams with chocolate and toppings), I would highly recommend it!

At IJsmanschap (roughly meaning "homage to ice cream") you can take the people making the popsicles there on their word. They really love and honor ice cream to make an excellent product, all in a convenient popsicle form to take with you on the go. We had three flavours, all very good! Plus, you can sit outside in the sun and watch the busy street in front of it!

Stroopwafels galore, with plenty of options to keep your sweet tooth busy. 🍯 But fair warning: these are very sweet like, one-stroopwafel-and-you’re-done sweet. Also, pro tip from experience: do not let the caramel touch your fingers. A sweet little find in Amsterdam! Firma Stroopwafels is cute, tidy, and staffed by genuinely kind people who love what they do. The live-making aspect-seeing your stroopwafel formed and filled right in front of you-adds a lot of charm and makes the snack feel special. On taste, the stroopwafels are pleasant and adequately sweet, though I found them a bit less aromatic and bold than others I've tried. I ordered an oreo waffle which cost 9.50 and asked for it to be cut in half so i can share with a friend. The waffle in itself was nice but i came in to the shop with high expectations and they weren’t exactly met. with so many customers i expected these waffles to be out of this world but its unfortunate to say they are slightly above average.

Interesting stroop waffel shop. Crowded with tourists all the time. There are multiple colourful versions of stroop waffels with various spreads and toppings. Look pretty decadent and damanging to your blood vessels lol Good enough for a try and one time vacation fun I guess.

Firma Stroop Amsterdam Delicious Syrup Waffles They are freshly made and they come with Different Toppings. As example: Nuts Caramel Chocolate etc. Prices are mostly the same for the Original Stroop Waffles in Amsterdam. You also can watch how the Waffles are made. Definitely risk of repetition.

Cute small bakery, i was a bit upset because I went there around 13:30 and most of the items were gone. But i bought sourdough baguette and croissant, both are nice. Will try to visit earlier next time hopefully they will offer more .

We came to buy some pastries. It was busy, so we had to wait. No problem. Some of the staff passed down the counter, but none said something. Then, after a couple of minutes, finally one said hi and asked us to wait. Couple of minutes later a girl showed up to take our order. Not a greeting of anything. Only an annoyed sounding "ja...". I asked her the flavours of the pastries. She answered briefly. My bf ordered what he want and than I did. We payed and she only packed my order. See picture... she simply took it and threw it in the paper bag. Next time one of the other shops around, with the same quality of pastries, better price, way nicer staff, and decent packing of the pastries.

The best almond croissant in Amsterdam! It has more than enough, rich filling in a warm, crunchy croissant. Their sourdough bread is also very authentic, and made 100% of sourdough starter. It was still fresh after a couple of days. The interior is very simple, you could also follow the baking the process. They have outside benches to enjoy your pastries under the sun. ☀️ staff is also very kind and helpful, I can highly recommend this bakery, even if it is not located in the city center, totally worth to try it.

Croissants were perfectly flaky and buttery and the coffee was excellent as well. Atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly. A great place to enjoy a quiet moment. We are looking forward to future visits and trying more pastries.

One of my top bakeries in Amsterdam. The bread, the feuilleté, and the flavors are just perfect. The savory tomato danish was delicious, and Ulmus serving good coffee along with the viennoiseries is such a good bonus. Really cute ceramics and atmosphere as well!

Delicious pastries, but service was disappointing. My friend’s coffee took 30 minutes to arrive so we had to drink without her. Staff were chatting with friends, ignored us, and were rather rude. They refused loyalty stamps for all 3 coffees, one stamp per order apparently. Which is the first time I’ve heard that, and I collect loyalty cards all over the Netherlands. Tables weren’t cleaned and there were crumbs everywhere. Tasty, but I won’t be back, plenty of other bakeries around.

The mountain oolong tea with tapioca is simply the best. Couldn’t get the same ratio done right in other Yo locations. You can taste the real oolong tea, and it makes it so delicious. The tapioca is also great.

When I came in I saw a woman receiving her order and then asking for a bag because it were multiple drinks, to which the only worker responded with "a bag!? You didn't pay for it" but still gives her one nonetheless. When it was my turn to order I accidentally made the mistake of saying "extra less sugar" instead of "less sugar", to which she replied with the nastiest look and proceeded to say "extra less sugar!? You mean less sugar or extra!!?" I said that I meant less sugar And I didn't know how to respond because that level of rudeness is just insane. When I received my order I was shocked because the topping she added was way too much for my order, making it more sugary. I assumed she did it on purpose

I used to get bubble tea every week from this place. Twice I forgot my loyalty card so I asked for a new card. This week I asked the girl to group the stamps together (I had one card with 4 stamps and then two other cards with 1 stamp). She refused and her excuse was “I’m going to get fired if I do”. 0 customer service

Slightly better than other nearby places. Excellent boba, properly served tea, but jasmine was a little bitter in the brew, and they over sugared the drink to compensate. Good milk to tea ratio, and good flavour.

Great pit stop for a quick coffee as we were walking around Amsterdam all afternoon. Pretty crowded but we were able to find seating. Service was quick and friendly. Coffee and brownie hit the spot! Cute place with great service.

Lovely atmosphere and we totally understand why it’s so busy! Great vibes and food all round. We tried the French toast and loved every bite. Fast and polite service with loads of sweet and savoury options for food! The matcha was nice but very milky - however it was overall a lovely visit and I’d definitely return for brunch.

Cute spot with tasty dishes, but overhyped and overpriced We had brunch at PLUK and sat inside — it’s a really cozy and cute place, very crowded. The presentation of the dishes was original and elegant, and the food tasted good overall. I had the Norwegian eggs, which were tasty, but my friend’s PLUK breakfast was a miss — the sourdough bread was super stale, hard like a rock. Unfortunately, the table wasn’t very comfortable, the cutlery was dirty when we sat down, and the toilets had a noticeable smell. It’s definitely overpriced for what you get, but still a charming spot if you want something pretty and Instagram-worthy.

Tasty food. We tried avocado toast and the best french toast ever. Good vibes and cozy atmosphere. Courteous staff. Prices are a bit on the higher side but well spent.

Overhyped, overpriced, bad service. Long waiting. We got our food delivered 10min apart from each other even tho we ordered together. Very small bowls. Dirty knife and fork. Eggs Benedict too much cooked. A bit too much lemonjuice on the avocado sourdough. Different types of tomatoes when the menu says cherry tomatoes. A lot of oil without taste. The bread was good but the knife needed to be better to cut it. Very small tables very close together. There are much better worth it breakfast spots in Amsterdam.

The food is dry. The sauce on the brioche sandwich is only on the outside, there is none on the inside. The Norwegian eggs are obviously overcooked. Overall, it's edible, but I would say that the price is too high for this kind of food, and if you have to wait in line, it's definitely not worth it. P.S. The bathroom has seen better days. There are interiors designed to look old, but here it's compounded by the fact that it really hasn't been renovated in a very long time. The flush button is broken, and there are cleaning products right next to it...

Very good cookie spot! Has a line but it goes quickly. I got the brownie pistachio with white chocolate and the chocolate chip with caramel sea salt. It was only ~€7 for two and they were quite filling.

The cookie shop is quite small, but you really just go in and out anyway. As soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by the most amazing cookie smell. We bought two of each flavor, and I’d definitely get them again whenever I’m in Amsterdam – the cookies were absolutely delicious!

Fresh, warm cookies that come in a few different flavors. I tried the dark chocolate and it was good. I don't think there is anything extraordinary about the cookies - they are similar to cookies in the US.

I ordered a lemon vanilla cake, and it was absolutely delicious! Not to sweet, with a subtle hint of lemon. It stayed moist and fresh for several days and the delivery went smooth as well! Never visited, but I placed an order online with the Cupcake Company for a small custom-made cake. The order process was very easy and clear. And also not unimportant, the cake itself was very tasty and beautifully decorated. A little on the sweet side, but hey, that's what cake is for. The delivery fees weren't inexpensive, but that does make sense if you figure that they have their own delivery service. That way, your cake is delivered properly and isn't damaged.

I surprised my boyfriend with a cake featuring his goat’s face, and it was absolutely amazing! Everyone had a good laugh, and the cake looked fantastic and tasted even better!

I still remember the chocolate and pecan praline cream habano and I would go back to Amsterdam just to have it again! So delicious, my God! Even though the size looks like it would be huge, it’s not. It’s super airy and the cream is light, so you can really taste all the flavors—the dough, the crunch, the chocolate, and the cream. We also ordered the croissant and the cinnamon bun, which never disappoint! Definitely some of the best we’ve had in Amsterdam

It was the best croissant I've ever had. The plain and one with chocolate was very good. I haven't tried the others but they are also very good. And the coffee was very good. I would definitely recommend it.

I had an okay experience at Rise Bakery. The pastries looked good, but one was so flaky it broke and fell on the floor, while another I tried was too dry. I ordered the wheel croissant and found it way too sweet for my taste. It was a bit too much for me

I tried the cinnamon roll, spinach and feta pastry, pain au chocolat, kimchi croissant, and salted caramel cruffin. The cruffin was my absolute favorite, followed by the cinnamon roll. The cappuccino was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. This place truly deserves its high rating.
