Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Shiki Menya is a cozy Japanese restaurant known for its delectable scratch-made ramen bowls, fusion sides, and beer in a trendy and lively setting. The eatery's first avenue corner store offers an array of tantalizing dishes such as Flamin Cheeto chicken sandos, curry poutine, and wagyu cheese katsu curry. However, the must-try item is the chili goma ramen kit.
Shiki Menya was hands down the best ramen I’ve ever had. From the depth of flavor in the broth to the perfectly cooked noodles, every bite was outstanding. The atmosphere adds to the experience; it’s lively yet welcoming and the staff are warm, attentive, and passionate about what they do. This is one of those places that defines Calgary’s food scene, and honestly, your trip won’t feel complete without trying it.
Feriyal H — Google review
Tried this ramen place recently and it was a major disappointment. The ramen lacked flavor, the broth was bland, and there wasn’t even a boiled egg in the bowl, which is a staple. They charge extra to make it spicy, but all they give is a tiny container of chili oil on the side. Seating was uncomfortable, the music was way too loud, and after waiting in a long line to get in, we were told they don’t allow takeout boxes, so we had to rush and finish our food there, even if we were full. Overall, not a great experience. There are so many better ramen spots in Calgary that are more flavorful, reasonably priced, and actually care about customer comfort.
Vish — Google review
One of the best Ramen spots in the city. If you are looking for a flavourful bowl this is the place. Service was good and they have a good selection of different items. I had the kara miso garlic ramen, the broth was very rich and spicy, the noodles had a great texture. The chashu was tender and well seasoned. Great bowl all around. The only downside is that inside seating has music playing which is fairly loud so be aware of that. I recommend the patio if available.
Soren T — Google review
Sure the ramen is good, but have you tried the pork belly tacos? Incredible! This place has a lot to offer. I cant wait to try more the next time I go.
J C — Google review
As a party of three, we had to wait in line for 20-30 minutes at around lunchtime for a spot. The ramen is good, but is not leaps and bounds above other respectable ramen shops in the city and is not worth waiting that long in line for.
Harry H — Google review
The dry ramen tastes good! But the soup ramen, soup both quite salty,it would be great if the restaurant could offer a lighter version. The chicken karaage is juicy! Overall, it’s not too bad!
Lucky K — Google review
The best ramen in town! We took our 6 year old son there and he asked for the second bowl for the first time(he's a picky eater) We were seated inside but the music was too loud so we asked to move outside. The ramen was really good. The staffs were friendly. Highly recommended.
Sujitra K — Google review
Great space for ramen. I liked the indoor/outdoor space. The ramen was tasty, I wish they had a regular miso ramen flavor and the option of half sizes for those with small appetites.

JINYA Ramen Bar in Calgary is a haven for ramen enthusiasts, offering a fusion of authentic flavors and modern culinary techniques. The restaurant prides itself on its thick, rich broth and handmade noodles, complemented by an array of traditional toppings such as tender pork chashu and perfectly seasoned poached eggs. JINYA's commitment to quality is evident in its use of FUJI water for the broth and the special aging process for their noodles.
Cucumber salad was so perfectly crunchy and tasty. It was actually better than the ones I’ve had at DTF (iykyk)! Ramen is consistently delish. I preferred the tonkotsu over the tan tan. Spicy tuna tacos are well balanced.
Rachell W — Google review
Best ramen in the city. Hands down! Quick service. Huge portions. Great value. Consistently excellent. The tempura brussels sprouts are a must try. I love the way each table setting comes with three different sauces. My go to dish is the spicy vegan Ramen and although it is spicy, it is also rich and creamy and filled with tofu and veggies. The seasonal menu often offers cold noodles, sauce, noodles, and other vegetarian and vegan options. I love how Virginia offers impossible meat as an alternative in some of their dumplings and baos.
Sandra G — Google review
Ramen was good as usual! Noodles cooked perfectly broth had depth and flavour. However, service was horrible. Had to wait so long just to get a glass of water and get our order taken. Server never checked in, empty dishes were not cleared and did not refill our water until the end when we were done with food.
Jamie K — Google review
Tried Jinya Ramen for the first time and it was an excellent experience. The staff were warm and attentive, and the drink menu had a fun variety to pair with the meal. The ramen itself was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor—perfect introduction for a first-timer. Can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu.
Dylan L — Google review
I tried the Spicy Chicken Ramen — chicken broth, chicken chashu, spinach, spicy bean sprouts, and green onions with thin noodles. The flavor was okay, but honestly, $19 for just two small slices of chicken and some noodles feels overpriced. You can order extra toppings or noodles, but it all comes with an additional charge. In other ramen places, this price usually gets you a more balanced bowl with enough protein. Here, you’d have to spend around $25-30 to make it feel like a full, satisfying meal — definitely not worth it.
Yuliia D — Google review
I didn’t try the ramen, just got the salmon bowl. It was okay, not much flavor, so I added soy sauce. Not the best I’ve had but I still ate it all. I think this place is more about ramen anyway, everyone seems to order that. The lychee + matcha drink was super tasty though! And Matilda who helped us was really nice and friendly. Service was great.
Maria S — Google review
It's been awhile since i've had ramen. @jinyaramenbar definitely hits the spot! The broth was flavourful and stayed hot until my last bite. The noodles were cooked perfectly and not soggy. The soft boiled seasoned egg was super tasty. Definitely recommend the Jinya Tonkatsu Black ramen.
Nelly B — Google review
The ramen was rich and flavorful, I really enjoyed the chashu. Unfortunately, my friend’s salmon bowl took about half an hour to arrive, which was a bit disappointing. Still, the food quality was solid overall.

Japanese restaurant
Goro + Gun is a modern Japanese restaurant offering a diverse menu featuring sushi, ramen, and teppanyaki. The establishment is known for its excellent ramen, including a vegetarian option with rice noodles. Special menu nights such as omakase paired with sake are highlights, providing unique dining experiences. Additionally, Goro + Gun offers gluten-free ramen, making it a standout choice for those with dietary restrictions.
I always forget to review this place but truly is one of the best sushi spots in YYC. The fish is so fresh and fragrant. The calamari was so crunchy. The ramen was okay but I would definitely recommend the sushi. The miso soup too was fresh and the addition of lemongrass (I think) was amazing. I got the matcha lemonade which was so yummy,I would also recommend that. Overall a great experience and one of the best sushi restaurants in YYC.
Hailee V — Google review
We had a wonderful meal at Goro+Gun! The calamari was perfectly crispy and chewy, with a sauce that paired beautifully. Both the California roll and the spicy salmon rolls were super fresh with generous portions. The lamb ramen was a bit salty and not as spicy as I’d hoped, but still very tasty. My kids really enjoyed their tonkatsu ramen and paitan ramen — portions were just right. We finished with a taiyaki cake and gelato, which was the perfect end to our meal. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout. Highly recommend!
R P — Google review
My all time favourite ramen place especially on a cold day when I’m in downtown. I love their happy hour menu it’s such a good price for the food ratio. You can also get sushi and their pieces are HUGE I get filled with one roll. The presentation is always so beautiful. The ramen is so soul satisfying
Ika — Google review
I had the spicy Miso Ramen. It was delicious! I added an egg, which I recommend. The food comes out so fast which is ideal when you're on an hour lunch. All of their ramen is great. It's their service that makes a great experience. They are so helpful and friendly, making a hour lunch feel like you're at a high end restaurant. The chairs are comfortable and decor is beautiful, making a lunch feel really special.
Miss I — Google review
We cane here for happy hour and it did not disappoint! Cheap ramen and great wine is always a good combo :)) would definitely come back, even outside of happy hour! My friend got the salmon sashimi and she loved how fresh it tasted.
AaronVSL — Google review
Their vegan mushroom ramen is one of my favorite ramen in Calgary. So tasty! Their happy our options are great as well. Plenty of space to have a friend reunion. Kind service.
Jhenyffer M — Google review
Amazing cucumber salad, calamari. Spicy miso ramen was tastier than any other ramen I tried in Calgary. Dynamite sushi was ok but can improve on the quality of the rice. My first time trying Beef Tataki and surprsingly good with additional rice vinegar and soy sauce dip. Nice to have refreshing blood orange cocktail with happy hour price. Staff was friendly and attentive. Location was great. Dining hall was clean and had a good polished crowd. Furniture and food layout was cute. A little pricey but will go back with friends. Nov edit after coming back: This the only resto that actually acted on feedback. Kudos! Dry ramen (forgot the name) was delicious and filling. The caesar cocktail is a new experience and really packs a punch. (I like blood orange before tho.) Big serving of calamari and tempura which is legit ginormous prawn — not just overpuffed with batter.
Diane A — Google review
I'll start by saying the customer service was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic! The food was not. Way too much rice and the salmon didn't taste the best either. The expected quality food for the overpriced dishes I ordered but it really seems that I just paid for an exuberant amount of rice. Unfortunately, when someone asks me how the food is, I can't lie. I told the bartender not to make a big deal about it as I'd still pay for my food and leave but she insisted on calling the floor manager Alex over. Once again, outstanding staff. I don't waste food so I still ate it all and didn't accept them refunding my payment/tip. I'm critical about sushi and it really doesn't make sense to charge that much for the fish to rice ratios; it's fine within reason. I definitely will not return as I appreciate exceptional food above all else and this fell way below the price paid. $16 for oishi/ $15 for spicy Salmon. Photo attached but I should've taken it from plate level - didn't want to be obnoxious about photos in a busy area. It's been several hours and it isn't sitting well. The tea was nice and my saving grace for the meal. Food: 0 Tea: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4.5 Your mileage may vary.

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Ichinen is a Japanese eatery located in a strip mall, offering a variety of noodle soups and rice bowls in a modern and simple setting. The menu includes crispy pan-fried gyoza made with pork and vegetables, staying true to the traditional accompaniments found in ramen shops in Japan.
I’ve been coming here since they opened, and it’s hands down my favorite ramen spot. It’s owned by a local Japanese family who are incredibly kind and down to earth—you can feel the love in everything they do. The ramen has always been top quality with amazing consistency. No gimmicks, no hype—just traditional, soul-warming ramen done right. Vegans also get their own ramen options!! The Yam Broth and Spinach noodles are amazing - Great place to bring Vegans! The free extra noodles (kaedama) is such a great value, and for lunch you can add on extras like chicken karaage rice bowls or gyoza, which makes it even better. The service is always fantastic, and they’ve even started using locally made noodles by Respect the Technique—such a great touch. Easily beats out the big franchise chains. Highly recommend!
Karol — Google review
This is more 3.5 rating. The broth was ok. The cha Siu was good. Egg ok. The broth wasn't bad. What I personally wasn't a fan of was their noodles. Tried both thick and thin. Didn't really like either. And the greens didn't really make sense to me. Hence the lower score.
Jenn L — Google review
Ramen was excellent, with a flavourful broth, noodles that had a satisfying chew, and a generous amount of toppings. Service was okay, and atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Solid spot for a hearty ramen meal. Other noodle dishes are also available.
Harry H — Google review
It’s a hidden spot. Luckily someone recommended it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t by pass this restaurant any chance. Japanese operated ramen shops, love the black garlic oil ramen with extra noodles. Soup are pretty rich, not msg type of flavour, more like true authentic Japanese style bone soups.
好奇的Martilda C — Google review
I would start by saying that the staff there was very friendly and the service was great, BUT the ramen……… The Ramen was bland!😶‍🌫️ I have tried many ramens and this one was the worst one I have had… I m sorry to say this…. I do not understand what kind of pallet these people have who has given the Ramen 4/5 stars… the Ramen is not even 1 star. It was really bad. No taste at all…. It was very disappointing.
Twinkle C — Google review
Yesterday was my first time at Ramen Ichinen! It was surprisingly good. The amount of noodles was perfect for me and they still offered FREE extra noodles. I am definitely coming back.
Leticia B — Google review
Visited this ramen place because of the reviews -I’m sorry to say but I think it’s over rated. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice… the ramen, not so much. The broth is way too salty for my tastebuds. They do swap broths if you find it too salty (I didn’t swap) - the noodles taste starchy, this might be the way they prepare them. Either way, I’ll continue my search when in Calgary
Ming F — Google review
For my taste, this Tonkotsu base broth lacked the saltiness I expect. Other reviewers said the broth was salty, this is not the case when we visited the restaurant. Maybe it was toned down since. Also, the garlic oil took over the taste of the broth halfway while finishing my ramen. Noodles were of my preference and the chashu was excellent, melt in your mouth goodness. Would love to come back again to try other ramen.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ in Calgary invites diners to enjoy a delightful fusion of interactive grilling and a cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect venue for family gatherings or friendly get-togethers. This restaurant is renowned for its high-quality offerings, especially the fresh and expertly marinated meats that you can grill right at your table. The hands-on dining experience fosters lively conversation and sharing among guests, enhancing the overall enjoyment of your meal.
This place was busy when we went. And with good reason. Our bowls were awesome, flavorful and served quickly. Service was very good. The only small critique that I have is that the serving size was a bit small for what we paid. Other than that, it was a great experience and we'll definitely come back.
Lonnie C — Google review
I would have rated higher but I couldn't get past how filthy this restaurant is. 😫 The moment I walked in you could smell the dirt. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and the light switches around the building. I only stayed as my daughter really wanted to try it and we were already there. I wouldn't be surprised if we become sick later. The food was good (again, not sure if it has been properly stored or cooled before hand given the state of the rest of the restaurant) but the cleanliness needs some major work. I spent $140 and while the premis and idea of the experience is cool; I could not get past the sheer filth. I won't go here again, but I'll try other Japanese BBq in the future hoping for a much better experience.
Heather B — Google review
Had a nice dinner here, service was good. Many options on menu. Decided on upgraded Chef’s choice and the quality was perfect. The quantity was ok for the price. It was fun to cook our own bbq. The best part for me was that the place is well ventilated and my clothes did not smell like smoke.

Came here on a Monday night with my parents and it was a lovely experience!! We had lots of fun and so much food with the meat variety combo! Great service and a lovely welcoming ambiance with a pitcher of Sapporo to tie it all together! Definitely will be back. Very busy though would recommend a reservation.
Amelia S — Google review
Amazing spot! You can either order individual dishes or go for the all-you-can-eat menu. The food is fresh and delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great Japanese dining experience! The only downside was that the washrooms could have been cleaner.
Julia T — Google review
Great Japanese BBQ on the corner of 6 and 6 in downtown Calgary. Got lucky with downtown parking but I can see how some people would circle around for a bit. Booked ahead so no issues getting seated. Ordered the Yakiniku for 4 people and it was great! Came with a good sized starter salad, miso soup, spicy tuna, edamame, fried Japanese style chicken, beef sushi and noodles. All of this came before all of the meats which were too numerous to name… had our own sauces for dipping as well! Topped everything off with a nice smores dessert just like camping as a kid! Great service, super attentive to making sure the grill was changed out regularly and if we needed anything. Highly recommend!
Phredie — Google review
Food was good, and the value menu was enough for 3 of us with one extra meat plate. The vegetable (zucchini, mushroom, etc) were super good and the marinade was quite good. The staff were also nice and helpful. It was not busy on a weekday evening around 5pm but it got busier at the end
Miyuki F — Google review
This review is for both the weekday lunch special and for their AYCE (the weekday lunch special is the best!) I would 100% recommend getting the weekday lunch special. I always go with one other person and we pick the 3 meat combo for $20. Then we just share the 6 plates of meat and it comes with rice, salad, and soup. An unbeatable combo that fills you up perfectly for lunch, and they have sooo many options for beef which I think is amazing because I love beef. As for the AYCE, I think it’s quite pricey compared to other AYCE BBQs i have been to but it’s good! It has short ribs on it and the meats are marinated differently than korean BBQ places. I would only go for special occasions since it’s $45 on the weekends but it’s worth trying at least once. I would still pick their lunch special over the AYCE any day just because of how great it is. Note that the lunch special doesn’t happen on long weekends (so the Monday they would not have it offered). Love gyu kaku!

Wakado Ramen in Calgary offers a modern and industrial setting for enjoying delicious ramen with various toppings. The customizable options make each visit unique, allowing diners to personalize their meals. In addition to its ramen offerings, the restaurant also serves traditional gyoza with a delicate filling and thin wrapper. Customers have praised the flavorful dishes such as spicy miso ramen and veggie ramen, along with crispy karaage.
The noodles were cooked at a great consistency, the broth was great however the chili oil overpowered the flavour a bit instead of it giving a kick but it was still tasty but it’s something tro consider for people who can’t tolerate the heat. The space was small but the service was quick and firm. Would go back and ask for the chili oil to be on the side next time. I recommend it still!
Alayne S — Google review
Was visiting for one night so came here as it was close to our hotel (walking distance). The tonkotsu was pretty good. Not the best we’ve had but it was still tasty. The broth was more bland than others we’ve had. I decided to try the Wakado Shoyu Ramen and it was tasty however since I was craving ramen I should have had a pork broth ramen instead of a chicken broth. Now I know. The chicken broth wasn’t bad but the pork base is much tastier. I did add a serving of pork chashu though and glad I did cuz it was so good and tender. We also had the chicken karaage appy and they were awesome! Highly recommend

Wakado Ramen — A Taste That Tells a Story A Hidden Gem After Church We discovered Wakado Ramen on a quiet Sunday afternoon after church and were lucky to find a table. From the first step inside, it felt like stepping into a small piece of Japan. The atmosphere is clean, warm, and deeply thematic — every element feels intentional. The décor, the gentle music, the calm rhythm of the kitchen — everything whispers authenticity. Attention to Cleanliness Even the washroom was clean and odor-free, which always says a lot about a restaurant’s culture. A little deep cleaning could someday remove the faint marks of age, but overall it was well-kept and cared for. Every corner reflected pride in the space. Ramen That Touches the Soul Then came the ramen — and it was unforgettable. I’m not Japanese, but if I had a Japanese grandmother, this is probably how she would make it: a bowl that comforts, nourishes, and touches the soul. The broth was rich and creamy, the kind that can only come from patience and craft. You can tell there were no shortcuts taken — just skill, time, and love. The noodles had the right bite, the egg was perfect, and the pork was tender and full of flavor. It was, quite simply, perfection in a bowl. Masters Behind the Counter The chefs worked quietly and gracefully behind the counter — focused, disciplined, and clearly passionate. I didn’t get to speak with them this time, but their work said everything: these are true masters of their craft. The front staff were equally impressive — friendly, organized, and attentive without being intrusive. They’ve created a great system for welcoming guests and managing flow, even during busy times. Parking was easy and stress-free, which adds to the experience. A Family Experience to Remember My wife, my 11-year-old son, and I all left the table smiling. It wasn’t just a meal — it was an experience of comfort and wonder. There was a moment of silence after the last bite, the kind that happens when everyone knows something special just happened. An Invitation to Japan This visit stirred something unexpected. I’ve never been to Japan — but after this bowl, I want to go. Or maybe, I want to go back. Because somehow, in that rich broth and careful presentation, I felt the heart of Japan itself — precise, humble, and full of soul. Final Word To the chefs and staff: thank you for creating such a meaningful place. You’ve turned a simple bowl of ramen into a story — one that I’ll gladly tell again.

Tonkatsu Shoyu review: the cha siu was a little inconsistent: 1.5 pieces, the first small piece was melt in your mouth, the second seems to be from a pork chop and tough/chewy. Egg cooked perfectly. Odd greens (ie garden salad mix) as ingredients. Broth on a little salty side, but flavourful. The pork bun (pork belly) looked big but upon first bites, was actually a thin small piece, and the greens overpowered it, but the flavours were all there. Premium green tea: good but I didn’t pay attention to it, so it over steeped and became highly concentrated. Overall, this place is okay for a visit if in a pinch.

My date and I were seated super quickly. Nice lighting and cozy feel. I ordered chili goma ramen and it was a beautiful balance of sweet and spicy. My favourite part was the bamboo shoots! Slightly crunchy and umami in flavour. We also ordered the mochi ice cream in mango and strawberry. Dessert was amazing. I loved the texture of the mochi combined with the flavouring of the ice cream. Super convenient and tasty ramen shop!

Fair price, decent parking, delicious bowl of Ramen. Nice and consistent after all these years. I moved to Calgary in 2020 and this has been my go to Ramen spot. I usually like everything here but the chicken chasu wasn’t for me, but that’s more of a preference.

This is a fantastic place for a great bowl of ramen. The noodles are made in house, the broth is rich, and the ingredients are excellent. Service was very friendly and helpful, our server gave us suggestions to match our preferences perfectly. I would highly recommend this place.

A little small and crowded, but the food was amazing. Four star rating is due to not taking AMEX, which is my daily driver credit card. Extra noodles are $3.

Rau Bistro is a small strip mall outpost specializing in Vietnamese street food, such as pho noodles and spring rolls. They renovated their concept and interior recently, and the service was great. I enjoyed the salt and pepper cuttlefish fish and the bun mam. Overall a good experience!
Very authentic Vietnamese restaurant with a nice selection of dishes. We ordered the 7 course beef meal that feeds 2 people for $68.00. It was delicious and I really loved the flavors of each dish. The honeycomb cake has a nice chewy texture and is not too sweet. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, I wish they had a location in Edmonton. Hope to visit Rau Bistro on my next visit to Calgary.

I had such a lovely experience at this Vietnamese restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavor, fresh, and perfectly cooked. You can really tell they use quality ingredients. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-kept, which made the whole dining experience even better. The service was also great – the staff were friendly, polite, and made sure everything was just right. Definitely a place I’d come back to. Highly recommend if you’re craving tasty Vietnamese food in a nice, clean, and welcoming spot! 🍜✨

Wow. We just discovered this place and now we want to come back about 3 times a week. The food was seriously exceptional - everything so fresh, beautifully presented and flavorful. The spring rolls have the kind of extra crispy crinkly wrapper that is so hard to find - I haven't had spring rolls like that since I moved to Calgary from Vancouver. The sate beef was wonderful, incredibly tender and served with fresh herbs, noodles and delicious sauce. The honeycomb cake is an absolute must try. 10/10. The ambiance was also very pleasant - a really nice place to sit with flowers on the table and nice decor. Not what you expect from the outside where it just looks like any strip mall pho place.

We loved the food. Unfortunately we Had the inside corner spot. The AC was on Blowing at our table the entire time we were there. We asked the staff to turn it down…. But she refused to turn it off as it would affect entire restaurant. I watched - Many people who dined in were putting on an extra layer. In the future , I will come to eat there when the weather outside does not require AC.

This restaurant offers different options for appertizer: papaya salad, beef carpaccio, marinated beef,... They're all delicious. We love the most is beef congee. The service is the best. Price is reasonable for a kinda fine dining restaurant. However, their rice platter is just average. We did enjoy everything here. Highly recommend!

Food here is excellent and tastes authentic, with standout pho, other noodle soups and vermicelli bowls Bun Thit Nuong, etc.). We also tried the Beef 7 Courses, which was a fun experience and very tasty. Good service, pleasant atmosphere, overall a great Vietnamese spot.

The vibe of this place is super cute, and the service was quick and friendly. I ordered Soup 1 Pho dac biet and Soup 7 Bun bo hue (The picture with a red circle of spice is the BBH). I was really excited to try it out since it had a 4.7 rating, but the Bun Bo Hue did not really hit the mark for me. It did not taste as authentic as others I have had. The broth was a bit bland, even though it had the usual Bun Bo Hue smell. It kind of tasted more like pho broth with some fermented paste added in. The pork slices looked more like BBQ pork with that red pink edge, which surprised me since I was expecting the usual white pork belly. The beef slices were really overcooked and tough, but the ham and pork blood were so delicious! I think this dish would make more sense if it was advertised as a version of Bun Bo Hue rather than the traditional kind. It was not bad tasting, just not what I expected. I did not love it, but I am sure other people might. The pho broth was really tasty, but the noodles were a bit overcooked and some of the beef shank tasted as it had gone bad, so I just picked those out. The beef slices were also pretty overdone. I probably would not get the noodle soups again, but I do want to try the rice dishes next time as they look amazing when I saw other people get it. I did get the mascarpone Vietnamese iced coffee and it was amazing. Perfect flavor and a great portion for eight dollars!! I would definitely come back just for that drink.

We might’ve found the best vermicelli in town yet. They also have very tasty boba drinks as they use fresh fruits. It is a great spot for Vietnamese cravings.

Japanese restaurant
Fuji Ramen and Sushi is a contemporary restaurant that offers Japanese noodle soups, specialty rolls, and wine. The menu features options like spicy miso ramen, sashimi, nigiri, and unique rolls such as the mango paradise roll. The restaurant's interior is adorned with a custom red and black mural depicting scenes of Calgary intertwined with images of ramen, sushi, and the Ang family who own the eatery.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best Japanese Restaurant in Calgary Fuji Ramen and Sushi Calgary is exceptional. The sashimi was unbelievably fresh and expertly cut, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich, clean flavor. Each piece was delicate yet bursting with freshness, the kind of quality that’s hard to find even in top spots in Vancouver and Toronto. The fried Cajun shrimp sushi had the perfect crispness and depth of flavor. The wagyu sushi was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a buttery richness that lingered beautifully. The spicy salmon was balanced with just the right amount of heat and freshness. The mango salad stood out with vibrant flavors and perfectly ripe avocado. The fried mango dessert was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and not overly sweet, the perfect finish. Maria, the owner, is clearly passionate about her craft. Her attention to detail and commitment to quality come through in every dish. Fuji Ramen and Sushi sets the standard for Japanese cuisine in Calgary. Highly recommended.

After a long night celebrating at a wedding, we were craving something hearty—and Fuji Ramen and Sushi hit the spot. We arrived right at opening and were surprised to see people already waiting outside, which is always a good sign. There aren’t many great ramen options in the south end of Calgary, so I was really happy to see that they delivered. As soon as the doors opened, more people kept coming in, and it was great to see how busy it got so quickly. The highlight of the meal was definitely the portion size. The ramen bowls were huge—perfect for a big eater like myself. I made the rookie mistake of ordering sushi too, thinking I’d still be hungry after the ramen... I wasn’t. It was also a nice touch that the owner personally checked in with us and invited us to join their loyalty program. That kind of personal interaction really adds to the experience. If you’re in Calgary’s deep south and craving Japanese food, I’d highly recommend stopping by Fuji Ramen and Sushi. Great portions, great service, and solid flavors.

My wife and I stopped in here today and were blown away! All aspects of our impromptu lunch date were amazing. The food was phenomenal, the ramen was the absolute best! Started off with the “Rock n Shrimp” which was some of the best shrimp I’ve ever had! We shared the Black Fuji Tonkotsu ramen which they split into two bowls for us with no hastle! It was rich and creamy and just so so so good! We also split a few of their deep fried sushi rolls too which were also top tier sushi. I am pretty sure the co-owner, Maria was serving us! She took great care of us and ensured everything was perfect! My only regret was not trying this place sooner!

Great atmosphere and delicious food. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was quick. We went in shortly after they opened on a Friday and there was plenty of space to sit. It started to fill up by 1, but with enough turnover to have tables available or a short wait. The ramen was amazing. The tonkotsu broth was so creamy and delicious! The bento boxes have a great selection and everything tasted good. I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

We came to this place for the first time and the service is very pleasant and the place has good atmosphere and clean, but the food is not there yet. We all noticed that the broth was a bit salty and not hot enough, my son even said that it was the coldest ramen he ate. The noodles was not completely cooked, mine even have some clumps of noodles. The takoyaki is also a bit hard and not as soft and warm inside as is supposed to, but the tempura, bento and chicken karaage was good. Again, this place is not that far from giving good Japanese food, the service already there, just make the food less salty, cook the noodles well and serve the food hot, like really hot! 😊

The best Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary, Song Huong Vietnamese Restaurant offers authentic Hue-style dishes and is well-known for their signature dishes. The restaurant is perfect for those who are looking for a taste of the traditional cuisine from Vietnam. The meat options on the menu are varied, making it easy to find something that suits your taste. The prices are reasonable, making it ideal for anyone on a budget.
Totally by chance our family went to this restaurant and we’re amazed at the quality and quantity of the food we received. I love vermicelli bowls and was not disappointed at all! Take a look at the photos. My bowl was the largest I have ever seen! I ordered the #42 combo and when it arrived, my mouth just dropped!!! Unbelievable!! The salad rolls are usually very rubbery and tasteless. Not here!! Exceptional!! The spring rolls were hand made and delicious! There was soooo much food I couldn’t finish it (and I’m a big eater!). Song Huong will be my favorite Vietnamese restaurant whenever I visit Calgary!!

Just craving some good Vietnamese take out. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality & freshness of the food. Was so delicious 😋. Not pictured because I was already half way through the soup before I realized I forgot to take a photo. Bun Bo Hue is their signature noodle soup. So delicous. Atmosphere was typical of a Asian soup restaurant. I was in/out with my pickup order in 5 min. The server was friendly & polite. Will definitely dine in next time for the full experience.
Richard P — Google review
If you would’ve asked me years ago, I would have said that Song Huong was the best in Calgary especially for their Bun Bo Hue. However, I found this time around it was just mediocre. I’ve been a huge fan of Song Huong for many years. I wrote a review a few years back indicating it was my favourite places to grab a Bun Bo Hue in Calgary. I recently ate here and I had to update my review. The Bun Bo Hue has been something I’ve been getting here for many years. It has been a while since I have eaten here and I do have to say that this time around it wasn’t anything to rave about. I found the meat portions have decreased significantly which was disappointing. Authentically, they do offer the blood pudding still inside the Bun Bo Hue which is tasty. However, I thought the broth had too much MSG and it just almost tasted like the whole soup was made with fish sauce. There was only another table the server waited on when I ate here recently and the service was quite terrible. Despite there being only 2 tables which were side by side, the server did not check up on us after serving the food. Not even once! Another huge turn off was the condition of their bathroom. There was urine all over the toilet seat and toilet paper all over the floor. It just looked very filthy. The condition of the bathrooms are a big indicator for me which is correlated with the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. I was not impressed with the state of it at all. It’s a far drive from where I am in city to get to this restaurant in the first place. Now with mediocre service and very average tasting food I’m pretty sure I won’t be driving the long way to dine here. There are restaurants in par or maybe even better as they are cleaner than Song Huong at least. It’s a shame as I remember back in the day when I would buy huge pots of Bun bo hue from Song Huong in the old location. It is a shame the quality has dropped to this degree.
David C — Google review
Pretty good bun bo hue and the spring rolls were delicious. Good portion sizes. I do like how they have the blood pudding with it whereas a lot of places in the city that does this dish doesn't have a topping like that.

MISTAKES WERE MADE - I left without ordering the Goi Cuon Bi , which is the shredded pork skin salad rolls. Decided to skip the appetizers on the account of not being very hungry, but now I regret not ordering extra food or at least ordering it to go. We ordered the Bun Nem Nuong Cha Gio (BBQ minced pork and spring rolls) and the Combo 3: Chao Tom, Cha Gio, Thit Nuong & Nem Nuong (minced pork shrimp ball, spring roll, charbroiled pork and BBQ minced pork on vermicelli noodle). They were both great, wound up with leftovers because combo 3 was a lot more food than I was expecting (see first photo). This place has a lot of potential and I can see it doing well going forward, a few changes I would make might include: adding cucumbers, something pickled like carrots, radishes or even turnips, to the dish. Even adding bean sprouts can help elevate the presentation. I did find red cabbage buried under the top layer of the vermicelli bowl but it was minimal and largely went unnoticed until I opened up the leftovers. Adding the red cabbage to the top can add additional balance to the lettuce. Although the above ingredients were missing and the dishes differed from the typical Vermicelli bowl I’m used to, it was not the end of the world. Presentation and flavour of the bowls could definitely be improved by adding a few more ingredients and balancing out the lettuce to noodle ratio, but the sauce that came with the bowl, which the restaurant was happy to provide extra of, and the spring rolls and meat found in the dish were made to perfection. Extra sauce is needed because combo 3 had a lot of noodles which one bowl of sauce could not cover but servers were more than accommodating - just gotta ask. Total for both bowls $35.90 before taxes and tip. No complaints on the atmosphere, however I did find the television and music being on at the same time a bit disorienting. One of the servers was also emptying the forks and knives very loudly into the dustpan which was a bit disruptive but again, these aren’t issues that can’t be addressed and improved upon. I also appreciated the fact that the minimum default tip option was 12% . This is rare to see. It’s becoming standard for the minimum option to be 18% so thank you for not automatically offering 18% as the minimum standard. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the province, just so I can try the Goi Cuon Bi! I have now added Song Huong on my list of places to visit while in Alberta.

My favourite Viet place in town. Great service from everyone, giant portions of food and the taste was top tier. I come here every time I'm in Calgary. Their beef tartare is the most famous and I can see why. Sliced thinly and combined with a vinegary sauce to cut out all the fat meatiness, it was divine. So two boys that went to the restaurant and order two dishes, one for each of them. Their Pho is mental and their service was fast and friendly.
TK Y — Google review
The bún bò Huế here is definitely the best in Calgary! I also tried the bún hến, the flavor was decent, but the ratio of vermicelli to hến xào felt off. There was a bit too much vermicelli, so when you mix everything together, the overall taste turns a bit bland. Not a huge fan of the bánh bèo either, the filling was pretty minimal.
Organic P — Google review
This restaurant has actually gone down hill. Food is not as tasty anymore. The pho broth tastes like MSG. Servers look upset all the times for no reason. They served rotten beansprout and tiny amount of dipping sauce. The to go containers are tiny and filled less than half. Won't come back and not recommend.

Chicking.YYC Ramen Shop, formerly known as Boom-Boom Ramen House, is a new Japanese restaurant in Calgary that has quickly become a favorite spot for ramen enthusiasts. Located on Centre Street, this authentic eatery offers great prices, excellent customer service, and fantastic food. The menu features appetizers like Chicken Karaage, Katsu Curry Don, and Gyoza that are all generously portioned and bursting with flavor.
I fell in love after the first visit and went the next day with my family. It’s an adorable family owned restaurant and the owner is so nice. She would introduce the menu to you if it’s your first visit, page by page. Ramen are authentic and delicious, unlike a few other places, you don’t feel thirty after drinking the broth. You can also add more noddles too for only $3. The sushi are surprisingly good! The butter on top of eel! The aburi salmon belly! The scallops! Definitely bringing more friends here!

We found this place on Google Maps and decided to stop by on a Friday evening. There was a small line, and we waited only 5-7 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it! The ramen was incredibly delicious, and the sushi rolls were a delightful surprise – this is only the second time in Calgary that I’ve been so impressed. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff really make you feel welcome. Will I come back? Definitely!

Ramen was decent but the portions were a little small. Flavourful broth and tender pork meat. The onigiri wasn’t bad. Service overall was amazing! We also got the avocado society salmon roll, not bad either! Fresh warm rice and decent fish

I've been on the hunt for a place that serves onigiri in Calgary ever since I moved here—and I finally found it at Chicking YYC! From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such genuine care, especially impressive for a cozy restaurant with around 15–20 tables. Our server was absolutely wonderful—kind, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to thoroughly explain the menu and was constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, including refilling our waters without being asked. She also shared that the ingredients and cooking methods are imported straight from Japan, and it shows in every bite. The eel onigiri and mini don bowl were nothing short of magical. I've never had onigiri this soft and flavorful—it was an unforgettable experience. You can truly taste the authenticity and care in every dish. Just a quick heads-up: the restaurant still has the previous signage from the former establishment, so it’s easy to miss. I’d recommend parking in the back or on a nearby side street, as there’s no parking out front. I’ll be back in a heartbeat. Chicking YYC is a rare gem, and I can’t wait to try more of their menu!

Was able to call ahead and make a reservation for dinner on a Thursday night. It was our first time here and we were greeted with a friendly server. We were sat in the corner and it was quite cozy. The server explained the different ramens that originated from which place. I got the spicy miso ramen and it had a nice spice to it and was really flavourful. The portions was a bit smaller so I also got 6 pc spicy salmon avocado roll and finished with Matcha parfait for dinner. The guys got the onigiri but personally I think it's too much rice for me.

In the area and was looking for a ramen place..this came up on google..decided to try it out..unfortunately for us, I didn’t read it properly as it is some weird fast food chicken place now..the service was atrocious..in an empty restaurant, we sat there for over 25 minutes waiting for service..they don’t even bring water unless you ask for it (red flag for me- although the gentleman after us got service and water right away—pays to be Korean).. the food is absolutely horrible..nothing was scratch cooking everything was pre-frozen , reheated crap.small portions for what you get.only good thing was the dessert (only reason why I’m giving an extra star). The ambience looked quite gimmicky with all the posters on the wall.might think of relocating to the plus 15s downtown and rebrand as a fast food restaurant..overall, I won’t be back again as nothing was really worth it.

Korean restaurant
O-My Kimbap & O-My Snow is a unique restaurant that offers a variety of rice rolls and shaved ice treats. They are known for being the first in Canada to have a Korean instant ramen machine, providing a fun and fast food experience. While the novelty of preparing instant noodles may come at an added cost with toppings, their menu also includes delicious kimbap options.
When I first stepped into O-My Kimbap & O-My Snow, I was genuinely stunned—like stumbling through a secret doorway you didn't even know was there. Tucked away beside a UPS store, the place felt almost surreal, as if I’d wandered into a hidden world. What really caught me off guard was how well-organized and clean everything was. They’ve nailed the small-but-mighty setup, offering grab-and-go snacks, cold refreshments, and even quick, easy-to-make ramen for those in a pinch. The real surprise, though, came from my wife. Somehow, she knew all about kimbap, and I had no idea—so today turned out to be a crash course in Korean street food. And wow, what an introduction! The flavors were on point, the ingredients fresh, and every bite hit with just the right amount of seasoning. It perfectly embodied that “hole-in-the-wall” charm, where the food does all the talking. I wish I had caught the name of the girl working the counter—she was incredibly kind and guided us through the whole experience, making everything feel welcoming and easy. This is definitely a place I’ll be coming back to, and next time, I’m bringing friends. O-My Kimbap & O-My Snow is the kind of hidden treasure that deserves to be shared—and hyped up.

This place is literally a ‘hole in a wall’ restaurant, and the gimbap is AMAZING. It’s made fresh right there and has a great variety to choose from. I was surprised that crab wasn’t in all of them but that can be looked passed. I can’t find any gimbap anywhere else so I was pleased to get it! Delicious and the service is always friendly!! They’re so helpful and kind! One time there was not any beef triangle rice things left in the to go fridge, I just looked disappointed and she noticed and asked me if she can make one for me! I didn’t even ask :) how thoughtful I tried the snow for the first time ever and got the Oreo one. It’s not like shaved ice, it has a different texture and a light flavour, but sweet. I liked the lack of sweetness because often deserts are too much. After mixing the Oreos in, it made it more flavourful. A lovely dessert!! Another time I tried the sugar covered fruit on a stick and maaaaan, they were wonderful! I’ll post a photo of them as well. The place is really small so the seating isn’t very good. They have small Costco folding tables and stools. Probably best to get to go. And the parking is limited.

Very nice staff. We like to stop in and grab a few tanghulu. Our favourite is the strawberries and the mandarin orange. They sometimes run out of some varieties, because they only prepare small batches so they are always fresh and juicy. A nice change for when you want some icy sweet fruit treats.
Andrew G — Google review
Needed a quick meal before Flames game and was driving by here. Simple place that you pick noodles you want to cook and they give you a bowl and you just place on the machine to heat up the water and cook. You can add toppings that they sell extra onto your noodles. The Kimbap we tried was good and they make it to order.
Herman M — Google review
I stopped by here for a quick snack and the food was alright. There are definitely better Korean places in Calgary, and the food here is more on the pricier side. I got the tanghulu and it did not taste good and the sugar coating was melting and it was very overpriced. The kimbap was filled with mostly rice and also overpriced :( they have a large selection of ramen and toppings but I did not get a chance to try the ramen

It was a fun experience, a unique way to prepare instant noodles thats uncommon in Canada (I'd done this once in Korea before and it was nostalgic to do it again here). Great for the novelty but the price adds up as you throw toppings into your basket so once you start paying >$15 for a bowl of instant noodles it really does make you question why you chose this as your eating out meal. Nonetheless they have other menus that are worth trying like their kimbap. In terms of their noodle toppings I'd probably suggest against the cheese. It takes a long time to melt (it's just a cheesestring) and then clumps to your chopsticks and the bottom of the bowl. It doesn't really enhance the experience. The other toppings like the sausage, egg, and rice cakes were great though! We showed up right at opening time and the doors were still locked and lights were still off. It was a Saturday. The owner came about 5 minutes late. Even though it was quick to turn the lights on and get everything started, it did make us question or worry whether they were opened the day we went at the start.

Great place! You can build your own gimbap and mine was delicious - spicy beef, purple and spicy mayo! The place is very clean, good location and overall the prices are good. Wishing you guys all the best in your business.

This is my new favorite snack restaurant. Very first time to try out gimbap and I absolutely love it! This restaurant sells ramen noodles and korean snacks. They also have a unique machine just for making your own noodles! I ordered the Spam Gimbap mixed with white rice and spicy chili sauce. All gimbaps here are customizable to your own liking or be creative. I also tried the regular oreo snow and I was surprised at the size of their regular and large! Buy a large size if you wanna share with other people and regular just for yourself since it is big! The flavour is nice and not sweet at all. It's not too busy around lunch time but parking will be a struggle at certain hours. Definitely try this place if you are looking for something cheap and not too big of a meal.

Tucked away in a modest location, White Elephant Thai Cuisine in Calgary is a delightful find for anyone craving authentic Thai flavors. This charming café features a cozy dining area adorned with a vibrant seascape mural and warm yellow walls that create an inviting atmosphere. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients sourced directly from Thailand, ensuring each dish bursts with flavor.
Foodie alert! This could be the definition of hole in the wall place. Located at the back of a hotel, not visible by the street and we loved it. They do have loyal followers for sure. If your expectations are fancy or typical diner it will not meet those expectations. It's exactly what you should and would expect with Thai food, spicy, bright, sweet, savory a bit overwhelmingly salty for me. Expect to sweat if youre weakness is spice, however you can ask for mild but then you'll just take the fun and experience out of the dish. I asked for mild

The staff went out of their way to decorate a private area for a bachelorette party! They bought bridal Photo Booth props and balloons and decorated the whole place at no extra charge. They had crowns and veils and confetti. It was above and beyond! The food was very tasty - especially the Tom Yum soup! Highly recommend. We had to find staff to serve us at different times because I think this location is primarily a take out location, but the food is great and the staff are friendly. Thank you for all your efforts to make it a great party!

Me and my girlfriend were craving thai food and decided to try this place! Safe to say it was so worth it! The decoration and vibe as soon as you walk in is super cool. And our server was really nice and attentive. We got Pad See Ew and Pad Kra Pao and my oh my the flavors were delicious. Such a wonderful place! Will definitely be back to try more stuff!

I've tried to contact the Okotoks location after picking up my order which was made wrong and no one is answering the phone. There is no email to reach out to either. So I'm making this review. I requested a dish with no onions or peppers due to intolerance. It's on my bill. And as you see in the photo. It's full of onions. It's written in red, how is it ignored?

This is the best Thai food restaurant i tried in Calgary! Once you opened the door, the decoration and atmosphere amazed you! The food is in large portion, we had our lunch there. We order pai thai and green curry rice, we cant finish both. The thai iced tea was so nice! It is very traditional and very thai! I love it. Next time i will bring my friends to have dinner .

My partner and I searched around to find the entrance which was not obvious if the Google Map didn't remind us it's behind an inn. After we opened the door, I found that the decorations inside were very colorful, which is not common for restaurant in Canada, but very common in Asian restaurants. There were a lot of customers when we had a reservation at 7pm. It's a little bit crowded and noisy, but I can still hear what my partner said. We ordered Tom Yan soup, green curry with coconut rice, pad se-ew noodles, and a Set R (stirred fried beef with peanut flavor). All dishes we chose were delicious, especially Tom Yan soup and pad noodles, immediately brought me back to the memories of traveling in Thailand. The price is very worthy and highly recommend people who are looking forward to Thailand flavors. Waitresses were thoughtful but didn't frequently interrupted for confirming the satisfactory of the foods. I will visit this restaurant again when I miss Thailand flavors.

The white elephant was the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I’m still thinking about the peanut stirfry and the coconut rice. The staff were extremely friendly, the ambience was so beautiful and vibrant, and the portion size was enough for 2 (or to take home for the next day). Would highly recommend this place and I will absolutely be back!!

Brunch restaurant
Yellow Door Bistro is a contemporary eatery located in the iconic Hotel Arts, offering a range of bistro-style dishes with a modern twist. The restaurant serves inventive breakfast-to-dinner fare, complemented by an extensive wine list and classic cocktails.
We had brunch here as part of our Travelzoo Package (back in March) The selection is excellent with many decadent items but lots of healthy fruits and cereals available as well. The ambiance is gorgeous and we were able to stay and catch up as long as we wanted. It is a little pricey as a stand alone but nothing is cheap anymore so why not enjoy life and treat yourself.

My boyfriend and went here for Valentine’s Day. We waited a bit for food because they had their 6 course menus running, however, they were very nice about it, and treated us very well otherwise we would have not waited as long as we did. When the food came we weren’t even mad, the chicken was OUTSTANDING, and the potatoes were to die for. I felt that the chairs weren’t as comfortable but we’re definitely gonna go again. I highly recommend it.

Always tremendous food, with top-notch presentation - we had the 'Alberta on the Plate' event: 4-course menu; excellent service, and very welcoming atmosphere.

TLDR great tasting menu for the price, great staff, nice enough atmosphere. A very well thought-out tasting menu, and great value for price for a downtown restaurant. The timing between dishes was okay. The dishes themselves flavour wise were a strong 4.5/5. The drinks were 5/5! I got the sweater weather, and the bar were fantastic and made my boyfriend an old fashioned even though it wasn’t on the drink menu. The potatoes from our main were verrrry undercooked, and our fish was overcooked. I figure it’s because the chorizo topping needed to cook longer than the cod, but with such a fatty fish the dish was still quite good all things considered. Dessert was better after letting it sit for a bit, it went from a 4.5 to a 5/5. A super crème brulee! The best parts of most of our meals were the sauces. Whoever their saucier is, they do an incredible job. 3 stars for the atmosphere because for a nicer restaurant I was surprised they didn’t offer coat check, and had no hooks for my handbag so it had to go on the floor (at least for the table we were seated at). It also took a bit of waiting around until we were sat, but we were about 5 minutes late for our reservation so that was on us 😅. The parking is free and in an enclosed lot, so no parallel parking needed!

This is an edit to an earlier review. First experince a bit negative, follow up experience was terrific!!!! Brunch at Yellow Door Bistro is slightly on a smaller scale but offers great variety. You have the regular menu which has many options from light to extravagant. This Sunday the 4 of us opted for the buffet. It was delicious! The selection was good, all dishes perfect temperature, and well stocked. Ranging from charcuterie and small bites to eggs bennedicts and scrambled eggs bacon and sausage. The buffet does also include a selection of desserts and today was exceptionally special with home made macaroons. My friends and I kicked off with mimosas and each enjoyed a cup of coffee (juice and coffee are both included in the price). Make sure you try the seasonal favorite like the chicken pot pie which was a nice little surprise. The restaurant is lovely and staff are attentive. Allison was always around to top up our coffee and clear up plates. Thank you. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back again.

Chose it as the easy and quick breakfast option as we were staying at the hotel..and what a mistake! Although emphasized that we have kids with us and they are hungry, every thing happened much later than perhaps if we had not informed them.. To order….! Had to get up and go find somebody to take my order…follow ups on order, plates,…salt…all came with delays and for food, the excuse was “sorry, we have only one person cooking…and many tables…”!!!!!! And the food also did not worth the waitC not too bad, but super average…and there it came at the end..18%, 20%,…etc. tip! 😆 We never went back…

Service was really slow during Valentine’s Day. However, the food was really good and made up for the couple hours wait. Our waiter was also really apologetic and understanding about the situation. Excited to try this place again when they’re not so busy. The GRILLED HALF CHICKEN COQ AU VIN was some of the best chicken I’ve ever had.

Sushi Bar Zipang is a bustling and popular sushi house located in the heart of Bridgeland, Calgary. It has been recognized as the top sushi place in the city by Avenue Magazine. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and a wide range of classic rolls and Japanese dishes. Known for its traditional Japanese sushi, including sashimi and nigiri, Sushi Bar Zipang has an extensive list that would please any sushi connoisseur. Fan favorites include the maki rolls and yakitori.
2025-02-14 Had dinner on one of the busiest nights and enjoyed very good food & service. Their fish are traditional, generous sized slices. The sushi rice is appropriately seasoned. All the fish were great quality. A subpar item was the tempura batter. It was clumpy and not frizzled as it should be in appearance but still light and crispy. We enjoyed coming here over the years and will continue to return. Highly recommended sushi place.

Had an amazing lunch experience celebrating my wife’s birthday! The sushi was incredibly fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and the customer service was top-notch! Welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful throughout. We finished with their banana tempura dessert topped with green tea ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle — the perfect sweet ending to a perfect meal. 🍣🍌🍨 Highly recommend this place for a quality sushi lunch and memorable service. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks Chef! -Johnny

Nice Japanese restaurant in the Bridgeland area. I'm a Japanese food lover and I think the taste is good. Too bad that there was only 1 server and 1 Chef who had to cook and come to help serve as well. It would be better if they had more staff and might have had all the services faster.

This restaurant truly gives you the comforting vibe of dining at home, thanks to its friendly staff and warm service. Be sure to try the sushi when you visit, as they serve the best in Calgary! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We got a free dessert and thank you for the lovely compliments ! We can’t wait to come back again soon!

The sushi rice has a good texture but under seasoned. Rolls were made pretty carelessly. The miso soup is not good quality. They also over charge for their lunch special considering how little food was served. Not a good price. Overall disappointed considering the good reviews from this place.
Wong J — Google review
The prices are quite high, but I have no doubt the food is excellent, but at these prices I opted out. It's important to note that the freshness of the seafood can vary significantly depending on the day it arrives, which can greatly impact your dining experience. At 6 pm, the restaurant had a calm atmosphere with just three other patrons. However, I found the menu prices to be a bit higher than I expected, which influenced my decision to dine elsewhere. The establishment was generally clean, though the food-stained paper dividers between some tables stood out as an issue. The background music selection is a mix of contemporary jazz that leans toward elevator and hotel lounge vibes. The waiter’s condescending attitude when I mentioned I couldn’t afford a full meal was quite frustrating, especially when he insinuated that I could at least have a roll. I also noticed additional staff laughing and making jokes at my expense. Given this experience, I feel it is only reasonable to take my business elsewhere. In the landscape of dining, sometimes you encounter a mix of experiences. The good news is that Calgary boasts a diverse array of Japanese restaurants, offering plenty of options to explore and enjoy. One day, I might return when I can splurge over $100 on a full meal. Let's be honest—six pieces of sashimi for $20 won't cut it; it’ll only leave my pockets feeling light and hungry!
Gary G — Google review
This is my absolute FAVOURITE place for sushi and Japanese food in Calgary. The quality is impeccable, the staff absolutely incredible, the vibe soothing and calm and totally lovely. I simply can’t say enough good things about this place. I literally come 2-3 times a week. And will keep doing so. A Bridgeland and Calgary and Canadian gem!!!! I come alone, I come with friends, I come with my kids. Always the best.
N M — Google review
We've been loyal patrons for nearly a decade, but unfortunately, our recent visit was a significant disappointment. We chose this occasion to celebrate a birthday and brought a cake, hoping for the same warm and attentive experience we've come to expect over the years. However, both the food and service fell short this time. There was only one server on the floor, which affected the overall pace and attentiveness. When the cake was brought out, there was little acknowledgment or enthusiasm from the staff—no gesture from the kitchen, no sense of celebration, which was disheartening for what was meant to be a special evening. After so many years of great experiences, this visit left us questioning whether we’ll return. We truly hope this was an isolated incident, as the standard we've come to appreciate was noticeably missing.

Breakfast restaurant
Lazy Loaf & Kettle is a casual cafe and bakery known for its simple yet delicious sandwiches, soups, housemade breads, and pastries. The highlight of this place is the thick and savory homemade bread that accompanies many of their breakfast dishes. Visitors rave about the build-your-own three-egg omelette served with hash browns and toast. Additionally, the cafe offers massive cookies and delectable cupcakes that are highly recommended.
Best sandwiches in the city! The homemade bread, the generous quantities and ability to build your own is consistently and fantastically tasty. Great selection of drinks and baked goods as well. Be prepared for a wait, but it’s worth it. Service is friendly but nothing amazing. Very cute and quaint when dining in. Lots of character which makes it homey and relaxing. Price is reasonable, a tad higher than I’d like. But the quality and quantity makes up for it.

A hidden gem! First time here, great local drip coffee, loved the dark roast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have so many baked goods, hard to choose from and an onsite bakery. The Cinnamon Bun with raisins, cream cheese frosting on the side. It was soft, chewy and delicious. I will be back for lunch, soups, salads and sandwiches.
Christine G — Google review
I used to love our lazy loaf order and would regularly order from them via skip the dishes. Over time, we have stopped using skip as their support is terrible. The only time I will order on skip is to get a lazy loaf order. However unfortunately that will also now stop. The last two times I’ve ordered from lazy loaf, I ordered a turkey sandwich. Both times the order came, the turkey is missing. Best part - can’t even get a refund cause we received “part” of a sandwich. WELP, we tried.
Katie K — Google review
Garbage, literally. I bought a sandwich and a piece of cake... It was $35. I would have walked out but my friend convinced me it was the best bakery in town. It's not. The sandwich had moldy spinach and old tomatoes and I had to toss it after one bite, the bread was both soggy and stale. The cake was dry and nothing special, no better than a supermarket cake, but of course they charge you the cost of an entire cake and serve you one slice. The slice of cake was big but the sandwich was tiny. I have no idea how anyone has a good opinion of this... It's easily the worst spot in Calgary and that's saying something.
S M — Google review
Stopped by Lazy Loaf & Kettle for a casual lunch and had the grilled Reuben while my daughter enjoyed a grilled cheese. The Reuben was flavorful and satisfying, and my daughter liked her sandwich too. However, I found the overall pricing a bit steep for what the place offers in terms of atmosphere and service. It’s a cozy spot, but the value didn’t quite match the cost for us. Still worth a visit if you're in the area and craving a classic sandwich, but manage expectations when it comes to pricing.
Vinaya S — Google review
Fast, healthy lunch place. Order at the counter from a menu with plenty of choices in lunch fare. Our group had the brisket, tuna melt, but and grilled cheese. The first 3 came with a side that made for a satisfying lunch. The grilled cheese had only a pickle on the side only and for a hungry 13 yo boy was not sufficient so we ordered a second grilled cheese. Staff helped us choose items and the service to the outside table was fast. Inside seating was clean and spacious. I would go again.
George M — Google review
I had a great breakfast here. I ate the Ham Eggs Benny and it was delicious. The coffee was also really good and their fruit was super fresh! I'll be back for sure!
JB — Google review
I hope this is constructive, $35 with tip for 2 sandwiches and it’s no bigger than the toothpick that holds it together. I’m fine with the price, but I expect it to look bigger than a slider. Please don’t prioritize skip the dishes orders over the people waiting in line. I’m a fan of lazy loaf, have been for decades, I hope you keep me coming back for decades more.

Dim sum restaurant
Restaurant
Bill's Peking House is a longstanding Chinese restaurant in Calgary, serving authentic dim sum and a menu of familiar Chinese dishes since 1988. Despite expanding to four new branches, the restaurant maintains its high standards with experienced staff who have been with the business from the beginning.
The staff here are exceptionally courteous. While they mentioned that they had the time to accommodate various requests due to a lighter workload, their genuine warmth and attentiveness seem to be a natural part of their service. I ordered two noodle dishes, a fried rice, and a refreshing, brothy dish—all of which were delicious. The prices are quite reasonable, and as an added bonus, writing a Google review allows you to enjoy a complimentary item of your choice: a soft drink, tea, or spring rolls.

Great in that their Peking duck comes with enough pancakes to match how much duck you get as most places give you too few pancakes. Great portions and good Chinese food. The salted egg yolk shrimp and Hainanese chicken are solid. Their red bean soup is delicious too. Great for group dinners.

Bills serves consistently fresh, flavorful dishes with great texture and balance. Highlights include tender chicken feet, juicy shrimp and pork dumplings, savory tripe, and soft BBQ pork buns with a sweet, smoky filling. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, high-quality dim sum.

We have been going to Bills Peking House for *Many* years. Service is always on point and prompt, food arrives relatively quickly (Dim Sum) and is piping hot so you know it is fresh and delivered to your table fresh and hot. It is not the cheapest restaurant for Dim Sum, but if you want quality, and also quantity, Bills is the Best in the deep South East of Calgary. The Shiu Mais, Haggows (sp), they are big! And Juicy! The shrimp dishes aren't skimpy, the shrimps are large and not just a paste of shrimp paste wrapped in a blanket. My go to 10/10 with oufght a need to drive to downtown or Chinatown for authentic Chinese Dim Sum. ... Western Chinese food is not reviewed, but I am sure it is very good. Easy parking, lots of parking and free. Early opening hours, and easy access from Macleod Trail and other major routes leading to this location.

Shokunin is a stylish Japanese gastropub located in Calgary, known for its sushi, sashimi, yakitori, cocktails, and sake. It has gained popularity as one of the city's top spots and was even featured on Netflix's The Final Table. Chef Darren MacLean showcases his culinary skills with inventive takes on traditional Japanese cuisine using fresh seasonal ingredients and traditional techniques. Reservations are recommended due to its high demand for fine dining experiences.
We did the yakatori omakase and it did not disappoint. The scallop was the best I’ve ever had and coming from someone who grew up and still lives on the shore in the northeast of America I think that says a lot. The bluefin tuna hand roll was also exceptional. Our server and the head chef did an excellent job of explaining everything to us and keeping us engaged. Also by far the best quality sake I’ve ever had.
Pete S — Google review
I’m actually disappointed. The restaurant was on my list for quite sometime before I had a chance to come in today. I was more excited to try Shokunin because it made the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada. The food portion was super small, and the skewers quality wasn’t the best. To be honest, I can make skewers like that at home. In addition, the wing flaps were unbelievably salty, we needed to chug our drinks right after that. Cocktails were ok, not “Oooo I need to come back here for this” kinda feeling. With the prices I did expect something more than that. The place is tiny but has an ok layout with overlooking kitchen and bar. Other tables don’t seem very comfortable. Staff are all nice and professional. Not worth the price.

My photos don’t do justice for how good this place is! We really wanted to dine here because I’ve watched The Final Table and a big fan of Chef Darren! I still believe he should’ve won that though lol. And as expected… this restaurant truly satisfied me as a customer! This is the best sushi I’ve ever had! And that wagyu… oh my… we had to get seconds! The flavours just explode in your tongue after that first bite. I think we spent over $260 just for 2 people but it was honestly worth it! I do wish that it was more spacious and brighter there though.
Tanni F — Google review
Shokunin delivered a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was packed with bold, balanced flavours. The Chicken Yakitori skewers were grilled nicely, and the Sesame Kale Salad was excellent. Ramen was great. The Beef Gyoza had a tender filling with a crisp, golden crunch. But the standout of the night was the Eggplant & Goat Cheese Tempura—a perfect mix of creamy, crispy, and savoury. Absolutely delicious. Creative dishes, great service, and a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an elevated Japanese-inspired cuisine in Calgary.

A favorite among a select few top-notch restaurants in Calgary. If you come, be sure to try the scallops appetizer; it's to die for. The skewers are also great, but you have to arrive early or risk the kitchen running out; which happened to us. Bustling place, we quite enjoy the atmosphere!

We came in on Sept. 26th to celebrate my birthday. Last time I ate at this restaurant was kn 2016, had very good first impression of the place all around. I read the reviews a noticed a lot of people complain about food and the service. Them being rushed through the dinner and so on. I got a little worried as I talked this place up a lot to my gf, so then I started to give myself anxiety. On top of it, the traffic was so bad I was 45 minutes lates to my own dinner. My gf got there 5 min lates only and got our table. Not only were we Not rushed to finish our food, our server was very friendly and explained the menus perfectly. We still had full two hours to eat and enjoy the drinks. Music was a bit loud, but definitely not too loud where you couldn't hear each other. Everyone seemed very friendly and polite. No one gave me a hard time for running late or mentioned anything about the time frame. It was an absolutely great dining experience, so when you read reviews, take it with a grain. Its like someone saying the movie they just seen is bad and then you go and like it. I think a lot of it depends on the attitude a client brings through the door as well. Its a Lil on a pricey side and portions are small, but the quality speaks for itself and in my understanding, Japanese people dont eat a lot and portions are always smaller than what north Americans are use to. Definitely try it out if you havent and experience some cool flavor profiles!

Nestled in a cozy setting, Khao San Thai Kitchen offers an inviting patio and a warm ambiance perfect for enjoying traditional Thai cuisine. The name "Khao San," meaning milled rice, reflects the restaurant's dedication to authentic flavors that highlight the essential role of rice in Thai culture. Here, you can indulge in a delightful array of dishes that balance sour, sweet, salty, and bitter tastes—each crafted by skilled chefs who take pride in their culinary heritage.
Place is not too big but we were there late in the afternoon when it was just starting to get busy. So we didn't need to fight for space. The only issue is looking for a free parking space nearby. Thus minus one star. The staff recommended a place to move our car as where we parked may not be free after all. I love, love, loved the Braised short ribs in Massaman curry! I have allergy to spicy food but I heeded no mind and just couldn't stop enjoying that super tasty Thai Curry! I have actually forgotten to try out the other dishes but it seems my friends enjoyed whatever they ordered. I heard the Crying Tiger is also a great choice but we didn't order that night. As my friends are locals in Calgary, I trust it is a highly recommended choice as well. I always prefer the fried rice over steamed rice so I ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was yummy as well. Our waitress have such a welcoming, smiling face and we find that a very pleasant customer service experience. I highly recommend this place when you are in downtown Calgary!

Best Thai food (in my opinion). It's the best for the price range. Yes, you can get cheaper but it won't taste as good! I have tried every item on the Appetizers list and can't pick a favorite. Find an occasion to go, and then GO!

We were visiting Calgary and were craving pad thai. This place hit all the right vibes! Absolutely delicious! Perfectly spicey, and good portions. We share a pad thai, chicken satay and a bowl of coconut rice and it was all excellent!

I visited this place after receiving recommendations from various friends. Clean tables and friendly staff response made me more fond of this place. The food was excellent enough. In particular, the soup recommended by the staff was so delicious. I'll visit you again with my friends soon. Definitely recommendation.

The Khao Soi was amazing!! It made me feel like I was back in northern Thailand enjoying the delicious food. The staff was very nice and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I would absolutely come back when I am in town!

Just picked up 2 bowls of Tom Kha spicy and sour coconut soup and it’s everything but a soup. This is literally watered down and warmed up coconut milk out of a can, with 4 pieces of mushrooms and 2 cubes of tomato (?!) and 3 thumb size pieces of chicken. Absolutely no flavour. To compare, I also attached a picture of a thai coconut soup from Sunterra (ceramic bowl) I got earlier in the day (currently fighting a cold) and it blows this out of the water! $11 for the Sunterra bowl and $7 for this…and it shows. How does a western grocery store make a more authentic Thai dish than an actual Thai place?

My husband and I love Thai food so on our quest to find good Thai food on 17th ave, we landed here straight off of google reviews, and we weren’t disappointed! The decor and the vibe, very warm. The staff, very friendly and welcoming. We ordered singha beer, and we liked it. Our server even taught us how to pronounce singha the correct way. For appetizers (see photo) we ordered chicken satay, and it was delicious; the peanut sauce it came with stole the show. I could have it as a soup if it were on the menu! For mains (forgot to take a photo as we were very hungry) we went with classic pad thai koong sod with chicken, and again, amazing flavour and portion size. We would definitely be back to try more items off the menu!

Good and busy place. Went for a dinner for two, delicious sautéed fish in clay pot. The portion is a tick small in my opinion vs the price tag but not a big deal to us. Will be back!

Absolutely delicious pho. Good portion sizes and meat/noodle ratio for the price. Ordered egg rolls as well came out hot and fresh from fryer. Woman was walking around who I assume to be the owner, very attentive and greeted everyone like family. She was even kind enough to make sure I knew how to drink the Vietnamese coffee correctly (which was delicious).

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. I always get their pho #9 and the vermicelli noodles #22. The broth is sweet and savory and is one of the best you’ll ever try. The vermicelli rice noodles have sweet and tasty sausages and crispy egg rolls. They have the best customer service as well. Everyone of their staff were very welcoming and made sure we enjoyed our meal and overall stay! I will always recommend this to family and friends.

Absolutely the best Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary, the food is delicious, and the portions are humongous! It can get busy, but there's a reason. And if you get the opportunity to check them out, you'll know exactly why!

Tried somewhere new this evening based off the reviews on Reddit, and it did not disappoint! Cozy atmosphere and the owners are delightful. Very friendly and kept checking in to make sure we were satisfied with the food. Huge portions, we usually order large bowls because the regular isn’t enough, but we couldn’t finish. I had the satay chicken pho and my husband had the beef. Very flavorful broth and felt we got a lot for the price.

Quiet, unassuming yet welcoming and familiar.. I have lived and traveled in Asia and abroad, and I can honestly say this is as authentic as you get. There is no need for expensive decor, tapestry, or flair. The love is there...in every greeting, warm welcome, and how personal the service is. It is a perfect setting for time with loved ones or treating yourself to an enriching solo lunch. Unbelievable food and experience every time, and that is rare.

We ended up at this Vietnamese restaurant because the road was closed, and it turned out to be a great find! It’s a family-run spot, and the lady running it was super nice and friendly. The food was good, we tried the spring rolls, and they were decent. Overall, it’s a nice little place that’s worth a visit.

Lovely restaurant that I go out of my way to hit when I am in Calgary. They do a gluten free ginger beef that is to die for

Save your money folks Do Not Go here, they have the smallest portions anywhere in the city, take a look at my lemon chicken it had 5 pieces! are you kidding me. They're excuse is it is a "dinner for 2 portion". Also the portion of rice is ridiculous, they are very stingy with their least expensive ingredient, they should be topping it off rather than a loose couple scoops. Another reason not go here is they were almost shut down for having an issue with raw chicken being left out And they are Expensive, go to Imperial Dynasty they give you a mountain of rice and lemon chicken, I literally got twice as much food for less money. Once again check out Imperial Dynasty off country hills and you won't be disappointed.

Food portion is tiny, i got the lunch combo which was meant to come with mixed vegetables and two dishes for 20 dollars but as you can see there’s no mixed veggies in there and when i asked the host he pointed at the broccoli and said “thats mixed” when in reality, the broccoli is there because i ordered beef and broccoli not because thats the mixed vegetable. There are much better chinese take out than here that taste so much better and cheaper with bigger portions like emerald garden on 16th and ginger garden on rundle

Although we were disappointed that they didn’t have a buffet, we were surprised at how delicious the food was. We ordered wonton soup, ginger beef, fried rice, and sweet and sour pork. The portions were big, the ginger beef was juicy and crispy. Very happy!

My wife, son and I had dinner here and I have to say that it was the best Chinese cuisine we have had in a long time. Vegetable Chow mein, beef and broccoli, and salt and pepper chicken were all excellent and generous portions. Will definitely returning to try other items from a very extensive menu.

We were looking for a late evening dinner and discovered New Dynasty. The decor is absolutely beautiful and it has a very relaxing atmosphere. John took great care of us and made us feel right at home. The ginger beef on the dinner for 2 was beyond exceptional! Great food, reasonable prices and beyond excellent service. We look forward to returning :) Update: Our second visit and excellent once again :) Try the beef brisket and green onion hotpot and the tomato infused fried rice with assorted meats. The ginger and onion with beef hot plate is great as well.

I ordered a combination plate with mini spring rolls, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken , sweet and sour pork and vegetables. The spring rolls and rice were mediocre. The chicken and pork had maybe one teaspoon of sauce on it if that. They were so dry that they were hard. The vegetables consisted of mostly baby corn cobs that had not been seasoned and were not fresh. I will not be returning to this restaurant which is a shame because the hostess was really friendly.

It is really nice they are open late, it's so hard to find a place to eat if you finish work at 7pm (or later). I would rate the food 3.5 if I could. My nitpicks are likely largely preference and menu item based so may not be shared widely. But it is definitely not unapetizing. I really miss the buffet, but it's a nice place to sit down to eat and have a conversation. Great for a large garhering.

With its cozy ambiance adorned with tuk-tuk decor, Tuk Tuk Thai offers an inviting atmosphere for diners to enjoy authentic dishes crafted from family recipes and fresh ingredients.
The staff or the boss here was really nice, The pad thai has a slightly sour taste, but it was sooooo fantastic for me.🫶🏻🫶🏻 I was a little sorry to visit them during their lunch break, but he was so kind to me that I was grateful.

Fast Food Thai at its best, the drunken basa is so good, it’s my go to, but I do it as a combo for a few dollars more. I get the satay chicken and Thai iced tea. If you have never tried it, give it a try! A very unique flavour.
Asif H — Google review
Lacked a flavor. I don't know why the rating is high. The chicken curry we ordered lacked a lot of flavor. The noodles were okay, but I have had better Thai noodles before. Although the Thai tea did hold up. Very small space, good for a quick bite. Although I must say, Great service

Ordered this with Uber eats, got the pad Thai, the tamarind chicken, and the crying cowboy ribs. The takeout boxes are so pretty, they make you excited to eat! 5 stars for the box choice!! The food itself was delicious. We worried the portions were going to be too small, but they were really filling. Our only critic was the portion size for the crying cowboy ribs. It was small. There were only 4 small pieces in the container. Maybe we just wanted more because they were so tasty.

It was my first time and I've order pad thai and spring rolls. First of all, their package design was so cute and unique. And the food was delicious! The prawns were enough and the sauce was matched with noodle well. Everything was great! I think I will often order food here 😋
Asella — Google review
A small place, that's beaming with bright colors (especially green). The addition of bright tuk tuk props adds character to the store. The service was friendly, fast and knowledgeable of the menu items. We ordered Thai ice tea, pad Thai and a sticky rice with mango for desert. The presentation was definitely nice especially the way the pad Thai was packaged (see my Instagram post). Although the pad Thai wasn't spicy even though the server told me it is. Regardless it has a nice balance of sweet, sour, and seasoning. The Thai ice tea was superb. Strong taste from the tea and the sweetness from the condense milk. As for the sticky rice with mango, the rice was consistent in soft texture with the right amount of coconut. The mango could be better if it was more ripen. Overall for the price, a little high for me even as a fast food. But food and service quality met expectations.

Ordered take out via skip the dishes app. The food is delicious, non greasy and flavourful. One important to note is the packaging - whether its compostable or recyclable is amazing. It also holds all the food very well and unique to how it opens and stores food. The thai ice tea is perfectly sweetened - not too sweet. A really good place to grab some thai food (that seems like fast food but doesnt taste anything like it).

I had a bit more of a unique experience through a private event with a set menu. Food was amazing, certain items were not for me, but overall, really loved what was served. Salmon and chicken were some of the best I've ever had and the bread was a great way to clean up the plates and enjoy every bit. Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Staff are great, always helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend for events of 20+ people (birthdays, graduation, any special occasion)

I was so pleased with my visit here! We had booked online for a Saturday brunch and ended up having the place to ourselves! The space is very comfortable and cozy. Everything on their menu sounded delicious, it was so hard to decide. Tempura soft shell crab benedict... This is what dreams are made of. We also tried the Orange Gochujang scramble. Fantastic. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items. Service was very attentive, and they brought out Japanese donut bites for my birthday! Such an unexpected and thoughtful surprise. Definitely eat here 😋 Update - have now tried the fried rice and chicken burger! 😍😍

The food was pretty good. The decor is really nice and cozy! The staff are really nice and give great advice on what to order! Pictured are the 3 desserts on the menu, the deconstructed salmon roll, stir-fry noodles, and cucumber salad!
Amreen B — Google review
The place is modern and hip, with rock star posters and candid celebrity shots of celebrities in the bathroom. The food, however, is disappointing. For pre-dinner drinks, my husband tried the Gorilla Whale - a ginger rice lager $6.50. It's different. The best I can describe it, is like a sour beer without the sour. I ordered their Cold Tea cocktail, a mix of Vodka, shochu, lime juice, coconut water, ginger syrup, green tea syrup, cold brewed green tea for $12 It's ok, very light flavors but I did have an expectation of green tea flavors (between the syrup and the tea itself you would think you would taste it). For Appys, we ordered the Seared Fois for $18. The fois gras came with cornflake cookie, sesame, Japanese whiskey stewed blueberries. All the strong flavors took away from the fois and made the dish sweet, but I have a sweet tooth so I didn't mind. Next we tried their yakitori which each order coming with 2 skewers. First up, skin on chicken thigh for $6 which did come with quite a few pieces of chicken and a delicious smokey flavor. Second order was drunken rum and coconut prawns for $8 (4 pieces of shrimp). It tasted like plain shrimp, which I do like but I was just expecting the drunken rum flavor. House tare and fresh egg yolk dipping sauce for the skewers was good. Different, and in a good way this time. Although I prefer my skewers plain to get the smokey flavors. For our mains, we shared the Godzilla Burger $20 consisting of binchotan grilled wagyu beef, foie gras, unagi, iceberg, ‘mac’ sauce, and a side of greens. I like saucy things so it wasn't bad but it had a lot of strong flavors going on. With all the sauce on it, you definitely didn't taste any binchotan grill. As my husband described it, you could take the Patty out and you wouldn't even notice because it all just tastes like sauce. Our second main was Straight Up Ramen $16 described as "land & sky broth, tamari, farm egg, house cured confit pork belly, nori, green onion, corn, bean sprouts, and shiso butter." Unfortunately the broth was bland and the noodles had a weird taste - best described as a sour taste? Regardless, it's not good. The egg was the best part of this bowl - the yolk was still runny and the whites just cooked. My husband's description is, "it's like when you make instant noodles at home and you don't want the sodium so you don't use the full seasoning package and all you get is water."

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The chicken chicken bang bang was furiously phenomenal...the Japanese Curry left me craving endless amounts of Curry for days. The beer was excellent as well, we had the IPA and the dark beer which is never my choice but the dark beer here was impressive with hints of citrus it had me very intrigued. I had the white chocolate desert that was decedent and rich with flavor. The service was also on par with the food and drinks, fast friendly and polite. Thank you Gorilla Whale and welcome to Inglewood! I will be back for more of your blissful dishes soon 😍 We ordered the pig!!! An entire pig with sides for 8 people and we had two large bags to go at the end of this feast. Perfect for a large party or function of 8-12 this leaves everyone filled and satisfied completely. The staff are all hand picked and make the food with love and passion, it shows in the quality of food you recieve 😍❤👌

We came here for happy hour which featured half off on all sake, wine, and beer. We ordered two glasses of sake and one glass of Riesling wine which was really good! They all went down really well. It was about $6 -$7 after the discount so very reasonable. For food, we ordered the pork belly skewer to start. It was $8 so I was expecting the portion to be bigger although the taste was very good. It came with some raw egg dipping sauce. We were hesitant to us it at first but tried it in the end and it added a good flavour to the pork. For the main dishes, we got the chicken paiten ramen ($18), and gorilla rice ($18). The ramen was a bit spicy and the chicken broth is not the same as the pork broth I am more used to, but I still liked it. The price was a bit high though seeing as most Japanese ramen places in Calgary are cheaper. The gorilla rice was ok but felt a bit too saucy which overwhelmed us as we were finishing it up. Our server described the meat in the rice as 'premium spam' which we thought was interesting. The atmosphere is quite unique. It's like a blend of Asian and Western cultures. There's Japanese inspired artwork on the walls with loud music in the background. There are plants hanging in some areas and we liked the nice bar area in the back. I would come back again to have some nice drinks and chill with the finger food.

Went here for a date with my wife on a Friday night and it was great. We expected it to be busy and it was but we were seated quickly at the bar and decided to just stay there when they offered up a table. It was comfortable and the bartender was fun to watch. It was clear that he knew his way around a cocktail as he moved through the drinks with ease. The food did not disappoint either. The offerings are fair portions and great for sharing. Each plate came out at a great place so as to keep you satisfied yet still comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and all seemed to be working well together. The decor is great and has some awesome concert posters around the dining room. Definitely recommend this place.

Pho Hoai is a cozy and down-to-earth Vietnamese eatery located in Calgary, known for its comforting pho bowls. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere and a menu filled with authentic Vietnamese flavors. With simple decor, the focus is on serving traditional Vietnamese cuisine with rich and beefy broth that sets it apart from others in the city. Pho Hoai is popular among locals for its reasonably priced, large portioned meals served quickly, making it an ideal spot for lunch.
My Absolute FAVE in Calgary. Granted I have only tried 5 now. But at least a decent amount from one super well known or voted for....to a new one in University and others less known. The broth here for ME is the BEST! It actually has colour but the flavor for me is amazing ..light but not clear like I found others to be translucent clear and almost tasteless. Like needing the sauces etc. Speaking of sauces I love Pho Haoi's taste more authentic than just brand Sriracha ..though dont get me wrong that is tasty and has its place... I just enjoy the home made. And they keep their sauces clean and have fish sauce! I enjoy #1 .. I had a number 2 but enjoy the rare beef more. Served with tea as well which is so lovely and appreciated. I ❤️ Pho Hoai definitely recommend. 🙏🏻 PS green juice was tasty tons of health benefits. Wasn't bad but I definitely had only ordered it based on the picture of a fresh juice cup. My bad I didn't ask lol I assumed they were making it in house. But totally fine. Was still good. Only for those who really can handle true green juice.. lol which is fine with me!

In search of a good Vietnamese restaurant we found this hidden gem. Let’s start with the food. We ordered spring rolls, a hot soup and one of their special signature bowls with chicken. The food was awesome. They first served us with hot green tea and a plate of sprouts which was a nice touch. The food was served very fast and we enjoyed the quality. It was so good that I ordered a bowl of soup to take with me home. What needs improvement? Probably having chilli in oil sauce, asking if we needed a fork ( not everyone is comfortable with chopsticks) and checking with us if we needed anything else. What I didn’t like? The mirrors were dirty, the whole restaurant can benefit a little cleaning and better lighting.

There's a reason this place is always busy during lunch time during office hours. Whenever the weather gets cold or I'm craving some nice and homey I visit Pho Hoai. They have upped the price over the last couple of years but it's definitely due to the cost of everything else, my only complaint for my Bun Bo Hue is all the noodles were very short like (2 inches in length) was difficult to finish the bowl.

Abigail — Google review
Update after 3 years in 2025 : I’ve been eating here since 2022. The portion size has slightly decreased and prices have gone up — understandable. Due to working hybrid this year, I’ve only visited twice. However, on both occasions, I was overcharged — that’s a 100% billing error rate, which makes it hard for me to believe it’s just a coincidence. Last time, the bill was $3x.28, but I was charged $3x.30 on my credit card. This time, the total was $33.58, but I was charged $33.65 — an extra $0.07. It’s not a big amount, but when I asked about it, there was no explanation or apology. It left me with serious doubts about the restaurant’s honesty. I strongly recommend that everyone calculate your total yourself before paying. I’ve personally decided to blacklist this restaurant and won’t be coming back. P.S. I went on a Sunday for lunch — there were only about 4 tables of customers. It wasn’t busy, but I was rushed to order three times within five minutes. Very unpleasant experience. 2022 comments : Is really tasty, we ordered extra large and share

BEST vegan place in town ever. I highly recommend it! Even something as simple as a bowl of brown rice is cooked to perfection. Everything is properly seasoned, healthy, and freshly prepared. Yes, it's a little slower than your regular Vietnamese restaurant, but it's worth the wait.

I love Pho, especially Bun bo hue. I always try this first whenever I go to a pho place, you can check my reviews. This place is one of the best bun bo hue and the service is amazing, when we went there for dinner, although the place was close but we wanted to try the Ca Phe Sua Da, they still served it to us. We tried their bone marrow for the first time and the dip brought it to the next level. Thanks for the service and for sure we’ll be back!

Pho Dau Bo is a clean spot with friendly staff and solid service. The pho is good—not the best I’ve had, but decent overall. The broth is just okay though; it lacks that deep, rich flavor you’d expect from slow-simmered ox bones. One downside for me is that they use plastic bowls, plates, and utensils, which takes away from the dining experience. Also, prices are on the higher side for what you get.
Hieu D — Google review
I visited Pho Dau Bo for the second time recently, and sadly, I left quite disappointed. While I was initially excited to return, the overall experience fell short. The atmosphere felt rather gloomy, made worse by the large rays kept in a tank that is far too small for such majestic creatures. It was upsetting to see them in such a confined, barren space with no enrichment. It genuinely affected my appetite, and I found it difficult to enjoy the meal knowing animals nearby were visibly distressed. The food itself was okay, some of the Vietnamese crêpe options were creative and flavourful—but overall, the portion sizes were small, and I left still hungry, despite our bill nearing $100 for three people. Unfortunately, the service didn’t lift the experience either. Staff seemed disengaged, and the energy in the space was low. I’m surprised by the volume of glowing reviews, as my experience didn’t align with them. I appreciate the creativity in parts of the menu, but between the animal welfare concerns, small portions, and lacklustre service, I won’t be returning.

I ordered a large soup and it only filled my bowl up half way barely any broth. I called and he says we only have one size container. for the broth. meanwhile it was barely 3/4 full. he tells me he will tell his boss. not good enough. refund my order or send me the right amount of food. I have eaten at around 90% of the pho places in the city and this was the least amount of food I have been given. I have eaten in the actual restaurant and they give you more when you dine in but that shouldn't matter you should receive the same amount eat in or out. Those pictures are supposed to be a large soup lol

Tried Pho Dau Bo in Calgary and it was solid. We ordered the Special Pho, Beef Rib Pho, grilled pork chop with rice, and a banh mi. The broth in both pho dishes was flavourful and comforting, and the beef rib was tender. The pork chop with rice was tasty and well-seasoned, and the banh mi had fresh bread with a nice balance of meat and veggies. Overall a good experience

I saw a big sign advertising 20% off food and drink, but unfortunately, I didn’t get the discount—I guess it doesn’t apply to takeout orders, which wasn’t clear at all. There was also a sign for free ice cream, but that too only applies to dine-in customers. I ordered a regular beef saté noodle soup for $16. The flavor was okay, but the portion was quite small and honestly not worth the price. Also, I heard from a friend that they charge for water, which is surprising and a bit off-putting. Would have appreciated more transparency and better value for takeout customers.

Pho with additional bone marrow is a great combination.. the portion so generous. Luckily, we come after rush lunch hour, so the service is quick. They have oxtail and beef ribs, too. We will come again to try their other menu.. so recommended

Came here during the birthday event and finally tried the bone marrow. It made the broth deliciously rich. Also enjoyed the hanoi egg coffee and beef carpaccio.

Chinese restaurant
Sun's BBQ Restaurant offers a casual dining experience with a diverse menu featuring classic Thai, Szechuan, and Malay dishes. The restaurant is known for its Chinese barbecue, including favorites like BBQ duck and roast pig available for take-out or dine-in. Customers praise the generous portions and flavorful, freshly cooked food. The crispy chowmein noodles and XO sauce fried turnip cakes are highly recommended. While the restaurant can get busy during peak times, ordering ahead ensures timely service.
The flavor of this chicken is on par with what you'd get in Hong Kong—super authentic! The other dishes were also really good, exceeding my expectations. Next time, I’ll go at lunch to try their BBQ meats—got there too late this time and missed out, such a shame!
Ye T — Google review
A very good Chinese place with a really tasty duck menu. I’ve been here many times in my life, always good food. Not a fancy place, but you want to see their own people eating at the same place. Try hot and sour soup, duck and beef with a black bean sauce. If you’re new to Calgary, you won’t be disappointed

Usually order take out delivery from this place but this time stopped by for dinner with family. They had a set dinner combo for 2 for $58. Came with a choice of soup (3 options) and 2 dishes from the list we picked beef chow fun and eggplant with minced pork. Both had great wok hei, the eggplant pot was super flavours and the eggplant was fresh, definitely one of my favorite. We also added an extra veggie dish- abalone mushroom with pea shoot leaves. Perfect amount for the 3 of us and a little bit of leftovers.

This place has an amazing vibe, the staff is very nice and attentive. Even though the restaurant was full, we received the food very quickly. We ordered half of the duck and fried rice with beef and we took 1/4 of the duck home, the potions are big. We will be definitely back to try other dishes.

I recommend! This was my first visit and was on a recommendation. The roasted duck and roasted pork looked fantastic and were both delicious. Also enjoyed was soup and milk tea. I look forward to sampling more BBQ at a future visit.

Overally good, especially enjoyed the Bbq pork. The roasted duck was bit salty for me. Good portion size. I had Pan fried green onion rice crepe for appetizer, I liked the texture but wish it had more green onions.

The BBQ pork combo with rice is delicious! The portion is very good as well. The server responds quickly comparing to the servers in other Chinese restaurants. The decoration is old but everything is clean👍

Pho restaurant
Pho Kim Restaurant is a delightful little gem nestled in Calgary, where the charm of traditional Vietnamese cuisine comes alive. This cozy eatery specializes in serving up authentic dishes, with pho being the star attraction. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for those craving comforting flavors. Despite its compact size, Pho Kim offers quick service that ensures you won’t have to wait long for a table—perfect for busy days when you're on the go!
The best pho place in Calgary. I genuinely recommend option no.8 at this place. I enjoy tripe, so I suggest option no.8. Did they reduce the amount of meat a bit? The sauce that comes with the salad rolls is also tasty. Even though I had pho elsewhere today, the snow reminded me of this place. The owner always welcomes guests warmly, so I visit quite often.

We decided to try this spot on Uber eats. We usually never get Uber eats but this is probably why. The serving size was atrociously small and they gave us 3 to 4 pieces of chicken. Barely any vegetables. Overall, the serving size is ridiculously small for how much you end up paying.
Kanwar R — Google review
Nothing beats a well run, family owned and operated restaurant. Pho Kim is no exception, you feel like you are part of the family from the moment you walk through the door. Friendly and welcoming. A huge variety of Vietnamese dishes and very reasonably priced. I got to have some of my favorites that made fondly remember the city of Ho Chi Minh.
Sherri L — Google review
Good pho place! Pho’s soup was very thick flavoured and nice. Meats were also good quality. Lemon grass grilled chicken was great. Nice seasoning and tender. Spring rolls were alright.
Toronto G — Google review
I ordered item #11, which is a well done beef, flank and tendor noodle soup. When the bowl arrived in front of me, it looked very good and smoke can be clearly seen. I dont often eat Vietnamese cuisine though. The soup was awesome that it contains the saltiness that it should have. I put the spices and few drops of lime into the bowl and the flavour was even good. The noodles were a bit too soft and was easily broken, but it also had the flavour of soup in it. Before we leave, we ordered #19A salad rolls, with one of them with the shrimps missing. The flavour was good and the shrimp flavour is so obvious. Brilliant. I recommend having a meal here if you like or want to try Asian food.
Lincoc339 — Google review
We did take out tonight. We ordered the wonton soup. The owner at the front till was very nice and pleasant. However when we got home we counted the 5 small wontons per bowl. Extremely disappointing . I will never go back.

Ordered thru dd today. Got the stir fried veggies with tofu on noodles and a veggie spring roll. Everything was carefully packed and they put the noodles in their own container to keep from getting soggy (I’m guessing). I’ve ordered from Pho Kim before and they always take such care with packing things up! I really appreciate that! The stir fry was super fresh and veggies were excellent! I’ve never had a bad meal from these guys! It’s super fresh and delicious every time!! 👍

Mamak Dang Malaysian Fusion Cuisine McKnight Location is a cozy spot that offers a mix of traditional Malaysian dishes and innovative fusion creations. The restaurant's unassuming interior features wooden tables and chairs, but the food is bursting with vibrant Southeast Asian flavors.
Better experince than banana leaf as of recently for Malaysian food. Food comes out piping hot and fresh. Not overly oily and good portion balance. Highly recommend the curry chicken roti. Although their platters are also worthy. I would choose chicken over the beef rendeng. Friendly service here and limited seating - ideally 2-4 seating situations.
CY S — Google review
Finally got around to trying this place after being recommended it several times. Over all I enjoyed the meal, I ordered the beef rendang and seafood Laksa. The beef rendang was decent. I requested the crazy level of hot for the laksa and to be honest it was quite mild, that would be my only complaint. I would still recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.
David M — Google review
Awesome place for laksa!!! I love laksa and used to go to this other place nearby for laksa but it wasn’t as good as it used to be. Then i discovered this place to try laksa and wow! So many toppings with the noodles and the soup was perfect. Everything was so balanced, seasoned well, and it was soooo homey and comforting. The place is on the older side and doesn’t look like much, but the food will make you forget all about that. It’s been a while since I’ve gone (maybe almost a year now), but if it still tasted the way it did the first time, it will be well worth it!

I came straight here after landing from London, and wow—what a welcome! Elwin’s Malaysian restaurant is a true gem. You can feel his passion in every detail, from the food to the service. He’s not just running the place—he’s actively involved, making sure every dish is perfect and every customer feels at home. The roti with chicken curry was absolutely delicious. The curry was soft, creamy, and full of flavor, perfectly complementing the warm, flaky roti. The nasi lemak had a refreshing twist with vibrant veggies that added a unique and tasty spin to the traditional dish. Portion sizes were generous, the service was super fast, and the drinks were amazing—fresh, flavorful, and just what I needed after a long flight. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier. I’m stuffed and already thinking about my next visit. If you're craving authentic Malaysian food with a personal touch, Elwin’s place is the spot. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, especially for those who like it spicy! The laksa is a must try. More details 👇 I find their special laksa has too many things personally, so I prefer the curry chicken or rang dang beef (5⭐). The roti bread is also good, but I've had better at other Malaysian restaurants (4⭐). I love fries so I had to try their chilli cheese fries, which is just fries in tossed with some of their spices but it's delicious! (5⭐).
Tommy N — Google review
Food was good. Sambal was delish spicy. I ordered the combination rendang beef and chicken and it was so much food. Was very authentic and fast. The salt and pepper tofu, roti with curry sauce, and the laksa were also favorites.
Janet D — Google review
Had their curry laksa today, was so good and so close to how it tastes at home. Delicious flavours and customizable (options like curry chicken, fish balls, seafood, etc). Portion was huge! Wait time was only 5 minutes. Alvin, the owner was hospitable and kind. His wait staff were attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Pretty good! Curry base is the most important imo. This one gets it right. Not sure about the beef though in laksa. No deductions though as that's personal preference

The Cafe was clean organized and the team was working well together. There are cozy seating by the window cute for a little date or meet-up. Reasonable priced for upscale cafe . Totally will be back to try some eggs and hot latte~. Lots of parking available around.

The food was absolutely amazing! Zack and his team of 10 provided top-notch service and were incredibly accommodating, even with our group of 15 arriving as early as 9 AM. Our meals were served within minutes, which was impressive. The only area for improvement would be the sourdough bread—it could be better. Aside from that, it’s a perfect 10/10 for the ambience, Instagram-worthy vibes, stunning food presentation, and a marvelous selection of drinks!

The friendliest staff! 🥰 warm welcome, great service. We came here for a late lunch just now, and had the chicken n waffles + avo/mushroom eggs benedict which were very good. Excellent coffee as well. Only small negative was hearing two types of music at the same time, kitchen and restaurant. But we'd recommend!

Great food, great service even at the end of the day!
Reyzharie ( — Google review
It was okay. The biggest problem I have is texture. You guys would really shine with better bread. It is as mushy as the eggs on top, and the eggs are as soft as the sauce on top. Bread should be toasty, smoky, crispy, loud and cloudy. That alone would elevate your avocado toast experience Give us more texture. Hot chocolate was boom though!

I have probably found the best pho of the town. Only $13.33 for a regular pho special, close to the station, great meat and unbearably yummy soup. I came here 3 times within 2 weeks, that’s how good it is for me.

The first time I ever tried Pho was about 5-6 years ago, and it was here at Pho Xinh Xinh with my brother. I've tried TONS of Pho since then, and I'm happy to say this place is definitely one of the best in Calgary. Great flavor, great portion sizes, amazing customer service. What a satisfying bowl of pho! The broth was so rich with deep flavours. The meat was thick cut and tender. Beef balls was seasoned well. Overall with quality and taste, this place is a authentic gem. I had the special noodle soup 13.55. will definitely return to try other dishes. Price range 12-15.00. they do have lunch special for 14.50 I think. Comes with a vermicelli bowl, one salad roll and a pop. Ends at 2pm. Service was average. They bring your food and drinks. Then they leave you alone. No free tea here.

The best!!! Their soup broth is always consistent and very flavourful. Best time to come is after the lunch rush or dinner time. Staff are always nice and accommodating as we always request steamed veggies in any of the soups we order and they are generous in their portions. Highly recommend trying if you haven’t already.

Best Vietnamese pho in Calgary! The broth is clear and prices are $12-14 which is amazing. The rare beef pho has great soup base and has deep but not salty or msg flavours (which is good and I usually eat less salt). The noodles are perfectly cooked and there is so much beef. The seafood satay has lots of real seafood (not imitation crab). You can tell they use real genuine food here. You can't beat the price here! The owner and staff are nice too. Overall, highly recommend!!!

Today we visited 5 Senses Ramen & Sushi Bar and tried two poke bowls — Jaws and The Classic. Both were incredibly delicious and fresh. At first glance this place wasn't what I was expecting. The cook was super friendly and welcoming. The gluten free chicken was SO GOOD!! I'd definitely have it again. The dynamite roll was ok, the gf breaded shrimps were the star of that dish and the rest were just supporting actors.. thanks

I came back to this place just yesterday. I am not sure why I only gave it 3 stars initally. I brought some friends over from out of town to grab good comfort food and this is the place that we ended up at. None of us were disappointed. The ramen is excellent and by far the best I've had so far now that I think about it. Yesterday was a typical weekday slow day for any business but it gave me/us a chance to have an excellent experience sitting outside even on a cold wet day. We had a chance to just chill, have amazing food an connect with the Chef and staff. My favourite will always be the Chili Goma ramen (replace the pork with the chicken)😉👌🏽... all the other dishes are excellent but this one stands out to me. 😊 They made it extra special when they provided a digestion-friendly dog treat for our furry friend that accompanied us, too! It's a small place but has a hip vibe to it. Usually a good playlist. Great place and service all around! Worth it! Will be back for sure! Domo arigato! ✌🏾

Big vibes. Very impressed. The decor makes all the difference (the chairs are very annoying tho. So noisy) The prices are amazing considering what you're getting. Awesome food and great deals to feed a family! We ordered delivery from this restaurant and everything was very good. My kids had the miso ramen deal and I tried the black deluxe and my husband had the red deluxe. We all shared kaarage don and many flavors of the gelato/ice cream. I liked the yuzu the best! I was not a fan of the type of juice like bubble tea they serve but my family all loved it at least. The kids especially. We really loved our take out experience with Tokyo Street Market. :)

Nestled in the heart of Forest Lawn, Pho Binh Minh Restaurant has become a beloved destination for pho enthusiasts across generations. This charming eatery is particularly famous for its signature Binh Minh special noodle soup, brimming with an array of beef cuts including brisket and tripe, all simmered in a fragrant broth that warms the soul. So before anyone reads this, I don’t live in Calgary. I used to live there and always would come here with friends and coworkers even though I was very far from it. Now I live in Edmonton and every time I come to Calgary I make it a must stop. It’s in the Vietnamese area and used to be pretty dodgy but since they stopped smokers from smoking in restaurant many many years ago, this place is more presentable. The food however has never changed, always awesome. Especially the Pho sate. It’s not a sàtè as you’d think of peanuts but just a spicy pho prepared. Simply divine. The eggrolls are especially noteworthy as they are made in house and not the ones you’d get at a grocery store. Simply an awesome place. I’ve been coming here for over 25 years and will continue to do so.

The worst restaurant in Calgary. My bf and I were in the mood for Vietnamese cuisine. Based on Google ratings, we decided to give it a shot. Huge mistake! It was the most disgusting food I've had in decades. We ordered sugar cane wrapped ground shrimp 35, quail 35A and sate beef with veggie spring rolls over rice vermicelli 122. Disgusting. I had ground shrimp and quail. It was dry and cold. 💯 Sure it was made 2-3 days ago. And I didn't even eat sate beef. It looked gross. Bf said it was like chewing rubber. Cold noodles, old lettuce, cold spring rolls. I tried them and they were all mushy inside and cold. Staff is so lazy and cheap. Serving 3 day old food. I'm glad I didn't eat the food, just tried a little appetizers, cause now my bf is sick to his stomach. First red flag was, food came out within 1-2 mins. I wanted to leave, but my bf is too nice and doesn't like confrontation. So I refused to eat, but he was starving and ate the food, but now feeling sick. Poor thing. And he ended up paying 45$. I'm pissed about that. I wouldn't even feed a dog with that garbage. Disgusting 🤢. There was 1 other table in the restaurant, Vietnamese people, and their food took at least 10 mins to come out and piping hot, steaming. Yet, since we are white, our food was days old and cold like ice, and came out within 2 mins. I don't see any other reason why they got fresh hot food and we got leftovers from 3 days ago! Lazy ignorant staff. Waitress had attitude and didn't even come up and ask, how was the food. So unless you're Vietnamese, do not expect hot fresh food. Empty restaurant, yet they can't make fresh food. It's appalling. I am so disappointed that I let my bf talk me into staying there and let him eat that garbage and pay for it and leave a tip. Never again we go to that dump! And Imma go on all social media, all over and spread the word. Tell all my friends. Everyone! Garbage so called "food", raggedy decor and crappy service. Just ignorant, lazy and cheap staff. Disgusting. DO NOT go there, you will regret it and might get sick too. Dump!

I really wanted to like this place, as I have heard people singing its praises. However, I just placed a pick-up order here and I am quite disappointed, to say the least. I paid for extra pork, and they seemingly gave me an extra spring roll instead. Additionally, I ended up throwing away the bubble tea I purchased, as I was under the impression that they used fresh mango due to the photo that they provided of the bubble teas online, and it was simply mango-“flavoured” powder mixed with milk, sugar, and ice. 30 dollars (including tip) seemingly down the drain, although the staff at the front were lovely upon picking up the order. I don’t think I will be back, which is a shame, as I was really excited to try this place out.

We ordered satay beef noodle and they served us with beef noodle without satay and when we asked did they give us the wrong pho they just bring us a chili oil and saying that it is the same thing in a bad attitude during the whole conversation as well their services. I went to a lot of Vietnamese pho restaurant because I love pho but this restaurant was a disappointment on both the food and the servers. Also we asked to exclude cilantro but they still served us with it. I will never visit them again.

I absolutely love this place! Food is always fresh and the service is very efficient. I know I can eat here, even if I'm in a rush. My grandma requests to come here almost every time we go out for lunch! They also have amazing vegetarian options. I haven't been able to find a veg bun bo hue that I really liked until I tried it here. I could eat it every day of the week.
Gizelle B — Google review
I've never eaten here and never wanted to, but I, along with everyone else in the entire row of fourplexes directly across the street, have the absolute PLEASURE of hearing this restaurant's obnoxious security system screaming every single night from 50 feet away. Every evening and throughout the night without fail, their back alley "surveillance system" lights up and blasts, in a grating New Zealand accent (???), "YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. THIS AREA IS UNDER SURVEILLANCE". Who asked for this? Who is it even for? Because it sure doesn't stop the homeless folks who still camp out there. Anyone walking beside the store or even across the street on the sidewalk thirty feet away gets barked at. Wind blows? It goes off. I step outside my gate? It goes off. I hear it from inside my home. Every. Single. Night. From 9 PM until sunrise. It doesn't deter anyone. It doesn't improve safety. If anything, it draws unnecessary attention to our homes and makes us LESS safe. No warning. No communication. No courtesy. And this kind of repeated noise, especially at night and right beside a residential area, isn't just annoying. It's a nuisance. Speaking of which, this place routinely gets its dumpsters picked up for garbage or deliveries at 3 AM. Multiple times, I've woken up to loud crashes and beeping from the trucks taking their garbage. I'm now looking into what local noise or property-use bylaws have to say about businesses that disrupt the peace of nearby homes for hours on end. Maybe it's just the Forest Lawn mentality, where you slap something loud and stupid somewhere and call it a day because you don't care. I hope that the noodles are at least good to make up for the pure annoyance the place causes the people who live nearby. EDIT: On August 13th, 2025, I was woken up yet again at 3:30 AM by loud crashes outside. This time, I saw the company name on the truck hauling away this restaurant's dumpsters: T and T Disposal Services. Since these dumpsters already attract illegal household garbage from people all over the neighbourhood, the "solution" appears to be servicing them in the middle of the night - directly beside a residential block and a busy four way intersection. My thanks to the disposal company for the regular middle of the night pickups, and to this restaurant for continuing to ignore the disturbances entirely.

Pho restaurant
Pho Daddy is a laid-back Vietnamese eatery in Calgary known for its classic dishes like banh mi, spring rolls, and soups. The restaurant prides itself on being recognized as the best pho spot in the city, offering a customizable pho menu that allows patrons to tailor their perfect bowl of noodles. With a welcoming ambiance and freshly made halal meats and broths, Pho Daddy provides a diverse range of flavors to satisfy any craving.
If you are visiting or living here and looking for halal pho place, this should be THE place. We ordered different variety of regular pho, comes with noodle, meat, veg and soup. Regular size is good for one person. Awesome taste we enjoyed every spoon of it. Additionally we get option to taste the soup sample before you choose yours. Unbeatable taste for sure!!!! And nice folks who are running the store

Pho Daddy is a cute little spot that really focuses on quality over quantity. The menu is limited, but that’s part of the charm—they clearly put a lot of care into every dish they serve. You can taste the freshness and attention to detail in each bite. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal. The staff are wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which adds to the overall great experience. If you're looking for a no-frills, delicious pho spot that values flavor and service, Pho Daddy is definitely worth a visit.

The best pho in the city! The employees are so sweet & helpful especially the hijabi girl. They even let your try their soup base before ordering. Great service & great food.

Checked this place out for "feast on fourth". They are offering their regular size pho for $10! it is set up street style so very fast and efficient without comprising on the taste. They let you try the broths before picking what you want. the service is also very friendly. My favorite was the coconut broth.

Honestly if you’re downtown and hungry. This is the place. Actually I would make the drive here just for when I’m craving pho. It was our first time trying this place. We were attracted by the open air windy staircase walk up. I would have gate-kept this place if I had not experienced such great service that needed to be recognized. Big thanks to Julia & Jo-Ann for their kindness & friendly service. It’s few & far these days. The coconut broth is to die for. AND very rare that it’s so delicious late night. Most places lose quality towards the end of the night as they’re not making anything fresh or broth has been sitting out for a few hours at that point. We went an hour before close & not only was the service from Jo-Ann & Julia was phenomenal but it was clean inside, the food hot & fresh. My partner use to work at a pho place so it’s safe to say we are qualified to make this call: Pho Daddy might be one of the best pho places in Calgary. Menu is pure & simple. 4 broths - which Julia let us sample each one! And 2 types of spring rolls. What more do you need? DID I MENTION THE LARGE IS $19? dude the bowl is huge. Worth every penny. They don’t skimp on meat. That is everything you need to know.

One of the few Halal Pho restaurants. My only feedback is they did not have chicken broth, it was mixed with beef. However everything else was good and taste was amazing.

Ordered via DoorDash so I can’t rate the atmosphere, but I had to stop mid soup to rate this the BEST pho I’ve had in the city. I was hesitant about having coconut milk in the broth, and it’s absolutely blowing my mind. I am a huge broth critic and this by far is the best broth I’ve had in the city. I ordered the large Coconut Satay. I added the peanut sauce as well, and I asked for it extra spicy and they DELIVERED. Will absolutely be a repeat customer. Thank you so much!

First time at this well known pho resto. I'd describe this more like a pho bar. It's cool that they have four kinds of broth that they offer to sample prior to ordering. Salt level is super high though. They will add the toppings and condiments for you. The regular sized bowl is respectable.

Pho City offers a wide range of dishes, including their signature sate pho. However, they go beyond the traditional bowl of broth and noodles by offering inventive options like the pho grilled cheese. This unique item consists of mini grilled cheese sandwiches filled with beef and served with a side of pho broth for dipping. Pho City is known for its nicely portioned and affordable meals, using real chicken instead of low-quality substitutes.
I ordered the brisket and tendon noodle soup at Pho City, and it was fantastic. The broth came rich and clear, the brisket tender, and the tendon perfectly soft. Everything tasted fresh and balanced. Warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying. I’ll definitely come back for another bowl.

Tried Pho City in Chinatown today and it was amazing. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles had the perfect texture. I got the spicy beef noodle soup and it hit just right not too spicy but full of depth. The spring rolls were crispy and fresh too. The place was clean, cozy, and the staff were friendly. Definitely one of the best spots in the area for authentic Vietnamese food. Highly recommend!

I’m not usually a big fan of pho, BUT I had the best experience here! The spicy coconut peanut brisket soup was unbelievably delicious, and the regular beef noodle soup and Satay Beef Vietnamese sub were also amazing. Everything was perfect!! Totally recommend this place!

Fantastic experience as soon as we walked in the door the waiter brought 2 glasses of water to the table before we even sat down, we had beef soup 🍲 and spicy bahn mi both were full of flavor and fantastic, Pretty decent price, really chill atmosphere, food was quick. If you are in the area I would highly recommend.

Five stars! We stopped in for some traditional pho and left very happy. The broth was incredibly flavorful and authentic—exactly what we were hoping for. The restaurant itself has been nicely renovated since we were last there, making for a great atmosphere. Without a doubt, one of the best pho spots in the city. Highly recommend!

The place was pretty busy but for a reason. The bbq beef noodle bowl was very good. The picture was taken after I already started eating it because I had to pause and write this review. The vermicelli with grilled pork was flavourful as well. The spring rolls were some of the best I had.

Beware of Freebie-for-Reviews– 2★ The restaurant has a nice ambience with a fresh, modern look and an upgraded washroom. Music selection was genuinely good, and the sound system added a pleasant touch to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, service and food quality didn’t match the setting. The female staff spent long periods on her phone even during a busy Friday evening, and payment was taken upfront without confirming if we were dining in or taking out — resulting in our meal being served in to-go containers despite us clearly eating in. The apology for the mix-up felt rather cold. The moong bean sprouts were disappointing — slimy, brownish , and unappetizing — most had to be discarded. A sticky table surface ruined my sweater, which sealed a poor dining experience. While the place has potential, the practice of offering a free pop for a 5-star review feels shady and reminiscent of nearby spots that didn’t last. Pho City could truly shine with better service attention and integrity in feedback practices.

Pho 99 is a modern Vietnamese restaurant with plenty of comfortable seating and quick, attentive service. The Pho is highlighted for its incredible broth and tender meat, while other dishes like crepes and vermicelli are also praised for their flavor. The family-style restaurant in Crowfoot offers good value for money compared to other Vietnamese places in Calgary. Customers appreciate the rich and full-flavored chicken base used in their soups.
Vietnamese food is definitely one of my favourite cuisines so I had high expectations for this place. The atmosphere was very modern and there was plenty of seating and was quite comfortable as well. The service was amazing as our food came quick and the server frequently came by to fill up our water. Finally the food which was incredible, the broth in the Pho was great and the meat was extremely tender so no complaints from me. My friends said the crepe, subs and vermicelli were all very flavourful and tender. Overall if I’m in the area I will definitely drop by here.

The house special beef soup tastes decent, but the biggest problem is, a part of the beef tastes sour, which means the beef has gone bad. Well, that’s gross but at least I didn’t get sick because of that. The server is friendly, and gave me a satay sauce for free. The store is very clean, the music is very nice.

Very big restaurant!! I remember that the location used to be Ricky’s for a long time. I personally think that it is too big for a Vietnamese restaurant. I enjoyed their dishes on Canada Day. The broth of the noodle soup was not 100% perfect for me, but the vermicelli with pork and spring rolls was so good. My husband and I were pretty satisfied with their dishes. I will be back!!

Been here a handful of times now and I just find anything I order is delicious and comes out quick. The food is very reasonably priced, and somehow it's always quiet when I go there, which considering the aforementioned things I find quite surprising. I always look forward to returning!

stopped by Pho99 for lunch ordered their Sate Beef Pho. It wasn’t busy, which was nice. The soup base looked too clear, sate flavor was too weak which is weird because their pic before looks strong. The beef was overcooked, but the noodles were pretty good.

Our new favorite place for Vietnamese food!! We've been here 3x in a month! The owner is so so friendly and attentive which enriches the experience even more. Fantastic tasting chicken wings! We used to LOVE Pho 99, but we haven’t been in years and after returning yesterday with our family we had a disappointing experience that did not live up to their past service and quality. The atmosphere has always been a 2 star BUT the food and service more than made up for this in the past. Yesterday, we came in for dinner around 5:30 and the place was nearly empty. There were two other tables and our server was frequently unavailable to ask for the basics that were forgotten - side plates, more water which had been asked for, etc. The salad rolls were falling apart - the rice paper not adhering and full of holes making it difficult to eat. The curry soup which was reportedly not spicy was so spicy no one at the table could eat it- for reference I ordered this all the time in the past and had no issue. The establishment is in dire need of repairs and general maintenance but being literally taped together in an attempt to hide the sewer gas smells in the washroom. So unfortunate to see this after this was one of our favourite go to restaurants 3 years ago.

Nan's Noodle House is a vegan eatery that serves up a variety of Asian-inspired dishes, including Thai, Japanese, and Korean noodle standards, as well as Vietnamese sandwiches. The menu features comforting favorites like Rich Miso Ramen with wheat noodles, green onions, corn, shiitake mushrooms, and bamboo.
Delicious! I’m very amazed by how they can make vegetarian/vegan food that tasty and flavourful. I’m very impressed by their pork belly gua bao because the texture looks very similar to a real meat. If I was living in Calgary, this place will for sure my go to spot! I also appreciate the fact that they have a free parking lot so that we don’t have to pay for a street parking. Even though that’s a little small but it’s better than nothing.

This is a vegan restaurant that every one need to try. It was delicious. The Gua Bao was so good, I wish, I order more of it. Everything was delicious.the food has a little spice, but it doesn't bother. The personel was very gentle and kind with us even though they were closing soon. The restaurant is cozzy inside.

Tried the laksa with “chicken”, roasted Brussels sprouts, and mango vermicelli summer special. Both entrees were very flavorful and faithful to the original dishes. The laksa had the right amount of spice and everything inside tasted amazing. Noodles were cooked just right. The sprouts were made fresh and just enough crisp. Would recommend Nan’s!
Kent W — Google review
Visited this vegan delight tonight with a buddy who has never been to a vegan resto. We ordered pancit that came with 3 spring rolls, black garlic ramen, laksa tofu soup and the dumplings. Everything was deelish. The garlic ramen soup wasn’t quite hot enough but flavour was tasty. I had the laksa which had a nice spiciness and was full of noodles and tofu. Would order this item again. The pancit had a tender fake beef substitute and the dumplings were good but our least favorite item. Parking is available but only 6 spots shared with cedars deli next door. I came at 630pm so had no trouble with getting a spot. When you enter the resto, you’ll order at the counter, grab cutlery, seat yourself, and they’ll deliver the food to your table. It’s quite small and doesn’t hold more than a dozen people and their skip/door dash takeouts seemed to be plentiful. If you’re seeking a solid VEGAN meal, this is perfect. Give it a try! I plan to return to try the subs and more noodle items!

Tekkotsu Ya Ramen is a hidden gem located on the east edge of the city, offering a small menu with fantastic prices. The cozy mom-and-pop shop provides an authentic experience with beautifully presented and exceptionally made food. The noodles have a great chewiness, and the tender and flavorful char Siu comes in both pork and chicken variants. Customers can mix flavors, such as adding black garlic to the spicy ramen. The ambience is comfortable, and the menus are well-designed.
Cheaper than average ramen with a flavourful broth. The taste is amazing. Getting everything in one bite is divine. The egg is cooked perfectly and has taste all on its own. Portion size is small but it's worth the price and you'll feel full. Only thing that's annoying is the size of the pork. They cut it insanely thin like one of those cold cuts you can buy at a deli. Wish it was a thicker cut.

Portion does seem small but will fill you. The pork and chicken are both good and soft. Soup is great and if you don't get the spicy soups you should ask for it on the side. Service is very friendly. The Japanese cheese cake quite tasty.

This location is just off the Forest Lawn area, weirdly located but their food is done to perfection! The ramen tastes amazing, customer service was excellent in explaining many questions that we addressed. Dessert could use more options and improvement. Otherwise, highly recommend!
Ivan H — Google review
I went here for the first time yesterday as I have never heard of this place, it was the closest to my home and the reviews were good. I ordered the Tokkatsu ramen and added the chicken karaage as a combo. There is a reason why it is not very busy here. The chicken karaage is far from anything authentic Japanese Karaage. Not marinated at all properly (not even sure if they did or what did used) but it looks like the chicken you buy at fast food chinese restaurants. The breading was thick and terrible. On to the ramen... The chashu is so thinly sliced (thinner than sandwich meat) and wasn't good, the broth was bland and the noodles were sub par. There is no way in hell that this compares to anything put out in Japan or even some of the other ramen shops in Calgary. Even comparing apples to apples, the tonkotsu broth at Ramen Ichinen in the NE is night and day better. The only thing I enjoyed and that was well done was the egg in the ramen. If it wasn't for the egg, this would be a 1 star review. And trust me when I say this... I have had a lot of ramen in my life, including a ton of times in Japan as I visit family every so often there. If you want true authentic japanese food, i would look elsewhere.
Shimpei K — Google review
Easily my favourite place for ramen in all of Calgary. The broth is very rich and the chashu melts in your mouth. Their ramen was the first time I finished all of a ramen broth! (If that indicates how good it is). Out of the shio (sea salt), shoyu (soy sauce), and black garlic ramen, I highly recommend shio. The appetizers are good too, I typically have their karaage. The green tea mochi ice cream, while good, isn't too special. The service is fine. There's typically only one person serving, however they're attentive as needed.

Great hidden gem tucked away off of 17th. Doesn't really look like much from the outside but once you sit down, it's an experience that was worth the price of admission. The food is great, exceptionally made and presented beautifully. The noodles retain a great chewiness, and the char Siu, both the pork and chicken variants are tender and flavourful. Feel free to mix a few flavours of you wish, like adding black garlic to the spicy ramen. The ambience is comfy, menus well designed. Cozy modern is what I'd say it feels like. The facilities are also well kept. Parking is plentiful as well. Customer service is also high on their priority list. Staff and super approachable and always there to give suggestions. It's family friendly and a great place for kids as well. Definitely make a stop of you can.

My wife and I often go hunting around the city for new places to eat ramen (it's our addiction) and I can honestly say that the food here is amazing. The Takoyaki and Ramen were so delicious. I will definitely be a regular from now on! Very clean, organized and appealing to the eyes. Amazing food and awesome staff! :)

I had the Shio, a broth that's less rich and I quite enjoyed it. The noodles are cooked perfectly and has some chew in it. We ordered the chicken karage and gyoza sides for an extra 2.50. Everything was fresh and delicious! For dessert we had the wafu parfait which is matcha ice cream with mochi and red bean. It was satisfying! Especially since I have a sweet tooth. I saw Lychee ice cream was sold out and they have lunch specials that I'd like to try another time. Overall good experience!

The broth had a pleasant, mild flavor. A gentle spice added a welcome touch of warmth. The rich toppings offered a delightful textural contrast. However, the overall experience lacked a certain vibrancy. The portion seemed somewhat small, especially given the price. This combination of factors made the dish less satisfying than expected. There are certainly other delicious options available. Hopefully, a more fulfilling culinary experience awaits.

Delicious! Quality and carefully prepared ingredients. The broth was perfect, smooth and a silky umami flavor. They are aiming for perfection - one of the best! The service is a bit shy, but very friendly.

Came here for a late lunch where we ordered ramen and gyozas to share. First time here and I would rate our experience at 3.5 stars. The restaurant was open, well lit, and pretty spacious, a contrast to the tight streets and parking in the area. Service was slow despite there being only one other other customer at the time. The gyozas and ramen came out almost at the same time, which was a bit unusual. We would not recommend the gyozas as they were identical to store bought ones and not worth the price. I opted for the black garlic ramen but found no traces of black garlic. Instead, it was just a rich, creamy broth. The chashu pork was a bit cold and had to be submerged into the broth. Grilling or torching it prior to serving would have added flavour and warmth. He tried out their Original Dragon and didn't mind it, though he had the same sentiments about the chashu.

It's a great little shop with some delicious food. The Asahikawa Shoyo has been my favourite - though I haven't been disappointed with a single meal (and my loyalty card is almost full). Add an extra egg to your ramen - they're really yummy. The Zangi Karaage was delicious. I was expecting it to be served with dip - but no need! It was so juicy. I found the service to be prompt and attentive. Food comes out quickly. There's a 10% discount for takeout, though I didn't find it -quite- as delicious when not served fresh from the kitchen. The majority of the broths are pork based and come with scrumptious slices of cashu pork. If pork isn't your jam, there's a few options like chicken don, veg gyozas, and vegan ramen. Parking on 17th can be hit or miss, but there's a paid lot behind the building.

We visited Ramen Taka during lunch on a Sunday, one of the first decent weather days of 2024, so there was plenty of people out strolling but the restaurant was still pretty quiet. We were greeted by friendly staff and immediately seated at a table for two, and water glasses and menus were delivered right away. The menu is fairly concise, with pictures and English descriptions for everything. I had the black garlic ramen while my daughter had the fried chicken on rice, and we shared agadashi tofu for a starter. The food quality is terrific, and the prices are decent. Though the portion size might be a bit on the small size compared to some other places, it was enough to be filling. My daughter declared the portion size "just right". The service was very good, efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is non-existent. Not bad, mind you, just un-inspired, not exciting or even interesting. Worth noting they do have a giant bowl challenge: 30 minutes to finish and some other rules if you're into that kind of thing. Washrooms were very clean, as were tables, bowls and cutlery, though the walls near the tables were a little grubby and could use a wipe. Definitely worth a quick visit.

Food was good, but not many non-pork options though. Just one vegetarian and one chicken option. So not a lot for we non-pork eaters. But the food was great, I had the chicken menu with rice. The warm and friendly service, along with the delicious food options, make it a great choice for a late-night bite or dinner.
This place is great. Prices are definitely reasonable as well as the portion sizes. I think it’s the only Vietnamese restaurant that is open past 9 pm. Open til 2 am or 3 am (Fri & Sat). We got there at 830 pm Saturday and just in time before it started to get busier. It is a small cafe style restaurant so it’s difficult to accommodate a group size great than 4.

Great food, excellent service! We came in as a big group of 23 and they were able to accommodate us no problem. Food was fresh and delicious. This is our new go to spot for Pho. Owner was very kind and staff were friendly.

Great place for some amazing food, quality service and open till 2am great combo with a limited menu in comparison to other restaurants of the same vein it's quality over quantity $15ish per soup or vermicelli bowl on average. I put my cup down on its edge and it seemed to explode as sometimes happens, they were super friendly and very prompt to clean it up and ensure I wasn't injured. Me and my S/O got the sate beef noodle soup and the brisket specialty soup and after both trying and swapping they were delicious with an incredible broth and the brisket specialty soup had incredible melt in your mouth Carrots so I attached some photos with the price availability all three ordering companies like skip, door dash, and uber eats are available and something I always like to ask server staff is do they keep their tips? with some managers now a days pocketing the hard earned service tip they assured me they do and that their owner is very considerate kind and even understands the unfortunate charge some delivery apps add as a charge. Also got told door dash may be the best deal or Atleast is their most popular ordering system. Will be back as it's near my bus connection from work and made for a really nice date great food and fed two with soups and a shared appitzer for just about $45

The braised beef soup was amazing. Their staff are very friendly and they're open later than most restaurants, which is great. This may be my new favourite pho place.

I usually come for Bun Bo Hue. It's really good. Tried the Pho last night. Great pho broth, light, clear, good flavor. Small restaurant with big flavors and big personality.

5’s across the board Food, Service, Atmosphere. Median price is $15 and I have to say the portion sizes are WELL worth the price tag. It’s not often I’m not able to finish a vermicelli bowl. And I’m usually paying in the ballpark of $45-60 for a vermicelli bowl. The staff are lovely, and very attentive, the moment I was ready to order there was someone there to take it. Food took less than 15 minutes to show up HOT, plus as an added detail they sliced the spring roll my food came with. Which is a small detail but it puts into perspective the care they put into every dish. Come check this gem out!!

Very good sate pho in here. Beef was tender, noodles were good and the broth was tasty.

We went here last night around 1:30am. We ordered their beef ball soup. The soup is not that rich and I Think they put too much water on it. taste is 6-10

Koi Fresh Fruits & Tea (Centre St) is a charming spot in Calgary, offering a delightful high tea experience. The cozy establishment provides a lovely ambiance and a delectable spread to satisfy your cravings. It's also an ideal venue for hosting parties, album launches, art shows, and various events with a wide choice of food options available. While some events may be postponed due to the pandemic, special safety measures are observed.
Stopped by this bubble tea place that’s attached to a grocery store. Was not expecting much at first but was really surprised by their menu. They offer white crystal balls/tapioca pearls (for those that are wanting it a bit healthier). Tried their Jasmine and it was delicious. Would recommend this place

Disappointing experience at what is one of favorite bubble tea places in Calgary. I always ask for no ice in my drinks. This time around my drink came with no ice and also only 75% filled. Employee at the counter afterwards tells me is because they running low on tea and she needed to save the rest of it for the online order she just got so can not fill my tea. Just poor customer service considering I paid for my drinks before the online order came through. Complained to the employee to have nothing done by her.

it's the best tea store to me with many good impressions of the store for me. the service is the best about this store, that's because i am a regular customer. i often visit koi on tuesday in the afternoon and i always order my fav drink with my request and the employee get used to know that what i'll order, that's so good for the service about the store. today i got free golden boba in my drink because the employee told me that my fav boba was a little left, thanks so much. 🥹 i would like to recommend the drink to try here is osmanthus oloong tea w golden boba no ice and regular sugar for anybody loves tea, especially oloong tea

Every visit to Koi 🍹✨ is always a wonderful experience 🌸🙌. It’s not just a place to grab fresh and delicious juices 🥤🍊🍍, but a place where you truly feel welcomed, appreciated, and respected 💕🤝. What makes this store stand out even more is the way the manager handles everything 🙏💯. With incredible professionalism, a genuine smile 😃🌟, and attention to detail that never goes unnoticed 💎👏, he embodies exactly what great service should be. Each visit, you can feel his dedication and his desire to make customers happy ✨. Honestly, if Koi continues to have the manager like « « padwork » it has right now, this store will never go down 🚀🔥. On the contrary, it will only keep rising higher, because with leadership like his, customer trust and loyalty will only grow stronger 🌟🏆. He is living proof that when you put heart, respect, and passion into your work, everything becomes possible 💖🙌. That’s why Koi is so much more than just a juice store. It’s a true reference point for quality, freshness, and exceptional service 🍹✨🌿. A huge thank you to the manager and the entire team for bringing so much happiness and satisfaction with every visit 🙏🌸. We’ll always come back with joy 💕🥤.

I bought two mango pomelo sagos and was a bit disappointed with the amount of mango slush. It honestly tasted like it was mostly just coconut milk. Maybe it’s a quality control issue? I don’t remember it being this bad the last time I came.

Ramen restaurant
Shikiji Japanese Noodles & Sushi is a cozy eatery just outside the downtown area, offering a variety of sushi and Japanese dishes. The menu includes classic salmon nigiri rolls as well as unique options like Cajun chicken Caesar and calamari specialty rolls. While renowned for its ramen, Shikiji also serves delicious soba and udon noodle soups. Customers praise the flavorful Chili Goma Ramen and recommend trying the Miso ramen.
Wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff. A good amount of food variety (even for those who don't eat raw fish). The food portions are large for rolls and if they are not, they are surely unique in flavour/taste. The rice and noodle dishes are large portioned and delicious. Highly recommend this place for everything.
CY S — Google review
Best ramen in town. We have been coming here for 8 yrs and despite all the new ramen shops that have opened around town, this remains the most consistent and best bowl in town: broth is delicious, fatty pork melts in your mouth, cabbage has the perfect consistency
Elie M — Google review
It seems like a typical izakaya, but the menu is more diverse than you'd typically find. They serve ramen to sushi and lots of things in between, and they do it all very well. The sushi is fresh and the service was great. The ramen broth was excellent, though the noodles were not the classic style I was expecting from an authentic restaurant like this (ramen noodles really have to be made fresh in-house to be right, and these don't seem to be). The portion size was a happy medium, so don't be afraid to order a selection of things! If you want just one thing (ramen, etc.) in my opinion it's better to go to a specialty restaurant, but if you want a good selection of Japanese dishes this is a great choice that won't disappoint no matter what you order.
Jonathan H — Google review
Best Chili Goma Ramen I've had in Calgary, but not the best Ramen. Noodles were good but a bit soft, and there were too many chives for my liking (I was picking them out of my spoon near the end of the bowl). Service was great, prices seem fair for great quality ingredients, and the pork was amazing! Update 2018: visited a few times and I'm still a fan of their ramen. Tried their Miso ramen for the first time today and it was excellent, noodles we're perfect. Still a few too many veggies for my liking so might ask for fewer chives/scallions next time. Also tried some sushi (hamachi, blue fin, toro) and they were all great but I felt the hamachi and toro were very very small. Service was ok but they were pretty busy.
Joel — Google review
This place is for the great ramen. Soy ramen is really good and I personally love the Chili Goma ramen. It's a small, busy, noisy and not so fancy place. But they provide good and quick services. One of best ramen place in this city.
Chloe — Google review
Service is nice and food is great! I ordered chilli goma ramen, takoyaki and curry rice. All of them are delicious. The soup of chilli goma ramen is awesome. Takoyaki tastes very good and I love the sauce. Curry is average but the rice is good! It’s a good place if you are by yourself.
Arlene A — Google review
They have some real tasty ramen here! I went with their basic soy ramen with fatty bbq pork. The broth is rich and coats the firm noodles perfectly. It doesn't overpower with the salt so it highlights the pork and bok choy. All the toppings are simply there for texture (seaweed, scallions). Lastly, the pork melts in your mouth. It's soft, fatty, and flavourful. It actually isn't heavy to eat so you don't feel weighed down afterwards. Their takoyaki is also very good (tangy, sweet but still savoury). Service is average but it's not the reason you go here. Besides, maybe it's better they don't bother you. That way, you can focus on chowing down.
Jen F — Google review
Let's just say, some foods are delicious, but some are just the below average. Delicious ones are: Mini Unagi bowl Cold Soba Does not recommend: 1) Miso ramen - noodles has great texture and bite, but soup is too thick and overpowering. 2) Nigiri and possibly any raw cut fish, horribly cut, looks great but doesn't know how to cut a fish for Nigiri. The texture of the cut is stringy, and the entire fish was stuck and hanging on my teeth. Obviously the sushi chief has never tasted the food he makes. 3) As we were leaving to pay, we saw some cute Chinese canned like bottled sake as shown in the picture, was thinking of purchasing it to take home to enjoy, apparently if you put it right at the cashier counter with price, to my understanding it could be purchased to take home. If they don't want it to be sold to be taken out, then put it behind the counter, where it's unreachable, and price shown only in the restaurant's menu, to be enjoyed only within. Back in the days my Japanese friend's parents used to own this restaurant, it was amazing, I used to enjoy coming here onces ever 2 weeks. After it changed owners both service, and quality of foods downgraded tremendously. Service was slacking, and the short-haired lady that host, and as a cashier never thanked us as we were leaving, and was rude. I don't recommend this place, unless you are desperately wanting cold soba. I give them credit for making a good cold soba.

Pho 26 Restaurant in Calgary is a delightful destination where the rich traditions of Vietnamese cuisine come alive. This charming eatery not only allows you to bring your own pot for a unique take-home experience but also serves up an array of mouthwatering dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. The standout Pho Tom Chua Cay, or Spicy Tomyum Shrimp Noodle Soup, boasts a harmonious blend of spicy and sour flavors that dance on the palate without overwhelming it.
We’ve been here 2 time . First one in August and second time today. Food is great, portions are big, service is very nice. My 6 years old daughter told me that this is very quick place, food served super quick. We will definitely come back.
Alisa I — Google review
The pho broth is the BEST I've had in the city! Unique flavors that I can quite pinpoint the ingredients. Lemongrass beef is the perfect spice level for me. Mild and not too spicy. The spring rolls are crispy and chewy. We loved all our dishes and the Vietnamese coffee. Everything was all reasonably priced, and portions are really good. We will be back and bringing more family to enjoy!
Debbie W — Google review
Nice spot nicely decorated. Noodles were perfectly cooked, the satay peanut rib bone soup was great. The pho beef base could have been stronger for my taste. Enjoyable lunch with quick service. Will be back for the bring your own pot starting at $40 pho. It includes the soup, noodles and condiments. Make sure you bring a big pot so it won’t spill in your vehicle during the drive home. One can order more surcharge added. Call to inquire.

Pho 26 is hands down my top recommendation for pho in the city. Every visit is consistently excellent, and the quality has never let me down. My usual order is #22, a comforting and flavourful bowl that hits the spot every single time. Sometimes, I like to add an extra beef rib and let me tell you, it takes the dish to another level of deliciousness. The broth here is incredibly rich and aromatic without feeling heavy, and the meat is always tender and perfectly cooked. Service is quick and efficient, and the atmosphere is simple but welcoming. Pricing is fair for the generous portions you get. If you’re looking for a truly satisfying and authentic pho experience, Pho 26 should be your go-to. Pictured: my regular bowl of pho #22 which is always a winner.

What a great find! I was just passing by at lunchtime today and thought that I could use some Bun Thit. I went in and the lady at the counter was over-the-top nice. She made sure that I knew what I was ordering and had it prepared quickly. Since I was somewhat pressed for time, I had it to go. It was fantastic! This place rivals some of the Vietnamese restaurants that I have encountered in San Francisco!! I loved it. I will be back. The food and the people are truly wonderful!
Barry W — Google review
Stepped into Pho 26 expecting a solid Vietnamese meal, and left questioning every life decision that didn't involve getting here sooner. Seriously, my taste buds are currently sending me angry emails for all the bland food they've endured until this moment. We started with the Bun Bo Hue, and let me tell you, it's not just soup, it's an experience. It’s got that spicy, savory kick that makes you simultaneously sweat and want more. My face was a delightful shade of crimson, but my soul was singing. Then came the Bún Nem Nướng, which was so perfectly grilled and delicious, I almost considered ordering another plate just for myself and hiding it under the table. No regrets. And the drinks! The Cafe Sua Da was like a liquid hug from a very strong, very sweet barista. And the Salted Lemon drink? It's the unexpected hero you never knew you needed – perfectly tart and refreshing, like a spa day for your mouth. But the real showstopper was the Three Bean Dessert. It's colorful, it's sweet, it's got beans (which sounds weird but trust me, it works!), and it’s basically happiness in a tall glass. My only complaint is that I don't have a second stomach, or perhaps a third. Pho 26, you've ruined all other Vietnamese food for me (again, in the best way possible). I'll be back, probably tomorrow, and probably for that three bean dessert again. And maybe another Bun Bo Hue. And definitely another Bún Nem Nướng. Send help (and more food).

Bun bo hue was average. The cuts of beef were very tough and the soup wasn't as flavorful as expected. Also the $2.50 for extra noodles only gives a very small portion.

Korean restaurant
Ssome Korean restaurant is a streamlined joint serving up traditional Korean dishes, along with soju, beer, and lunch boxes. One of their standout dishes is the spicy sausage stew, meant for sharing and loaded with ham, sliced sausage, vegetables, kimchi, and ramen noodles in a special spicy house-made broth. The restaurant offers a homey and comfortable ambiance with great servers and delicious food.
I recently visited a Korean restaurant and tried their stir-fry and chicken with cheese—both were absolutely delicious! The stir-fry had bold flavors, and the chicken was perfectly tender, with the melted cheese adding a rich, indulgent touch. The portion sizes were generous and great for sharing, which was perfect since I went with a friend. While the price leans toward the expensive side, it's appropriate given the quality and quantity of the food. Plus, they stay open really late, making it an excellent spot for winter comfort food. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving hearty, flavorful dishes!

went here around 6 after shopping for boxing day. the prices had shocked my bf and my sisters i, as the most of the korean restaurants we went to range from $20-$25, but this place was around $30+ mostly. the food was okay, however because of the price, we thought the portions would be big, and enough for all 4 of us. but the portions were a bit too small. what i was most disappointed about was that, there were no side dishes unlike ANY other korean restaurants. korea is known for side dishes, but when they had none, i was a bit surprised. the food was a bit salty, and could’ve made them a little bland. our total came to $105.. which we were not satisfied with since if we order any where else, it was normally around $70-80, and we would also have to get take our boxes, as they are big portion. overall i will give it a 7/10, -1 no side dishes, -1 overpriced, -1 small portion for the price. the service was pretty food, as they have a button on the side you can press to call the server if you need anything.
Jin M — Google review
What an awesome place for a k-pub/resto experience with your friends or family! Most of their dishes are meant to be shared. The more people, the better! There were several tables indoor, but reservations are preferred during busy hours. Our server host is alone during our visit, on a holiday rush hour, and she was able to handle the pressure of serving all tables with finesse and precision! We got kimchi jigae soup and boneless chicken with shredded onions on top. The soup has lots of pork belly in it and it wasn’t too spicy which gave just enough kick for our appetite. The chicken’s sauce was a bit watery so be prepared. We liked the texture and flavour though so we didn’t mind. Parking here can be tricky so plan ahead!
Nomad_paul — Google review
This is my favourite Korean restaurant. I live in a city that’s 3 hours away and sometimes I’ll drive to Calgary just so I can eat the food here and then I’ll drive back home to Edmonton after. What I always recommend to EVERYBODY is to try their Garden Salad. The dressing is sweet and it makes me excited to eat veggies when I generally hate doing so. The corn cheese is literally just corn and cheese with butter. It’s a little different from what you’d get from other Korean restaurants where you’d get that creamy mayo-like sauce mixed with it. The dish was still delicious though. The Chicken and Cheese is sweet and spicy made with dark meat. So you know it’s going to be JUICY. It’s good enough to eat by itself, but even better if you have it with rice or even the Garden salad I recommended above. I’m a huge takoyaki lover and I tend to order it whenever it’s available. I can safely say that the ones they offer here are one of the best that I’ve tried so far. They’re generous with their squid flakes which I love. The sauce isn’t overpowering, and the crispiness is just right. And lastly, the spicy rice cake with cheese and noodle is a classic favourite. The rice cakes are gooey and easy to eat. The ramen noodles and cheese is an excellent touch. There’s also a bit of a kick to this spice as should be expected. If you’re like me and your spice tolerance isn’t that high, you can always pair it with the Garden salad to cool it down. I talk about the salad a lot because it’s just that good. Sometimes I order 2 salads to split with another person.
Tfit780 — Google review
The menu has a large variety of Korean food and my favourite is definitely the spicy chicken feet. The bbq pork belly was also really delicious! I would definitely go back and try more items on their menu. The alcohol was also reasonably priced and the service was fast!

We dined in here last month and I just posted this review. Overall, service, ambiance and the food were amazing. Most of their dishes were good for sharing. You can taste the authenticity of Korean cuisine from their menu. Since we have a kid with us, there were some food items that were kids-friendly.

To me this is one of my favorite Korean pochas. Good food, cute and great servers and good drinks. It's homey and comfortable. Came here again, but for the last time and it never disappoints. From the service to the food it has always be delicious. I love their 매운족발 not alot of places in Calgary can make this really good and I only know 2 and one of them is this place. Their grilled samgyupsal(삼겹살) and jaeyukbokkeum(제육볶음) was really good too. The portions are really nice here and they don't skimp out. Highly recommend for both Canadians, tourists and of course Koreans to this lovely place as I will miss it.

I always love coming to Ssome for dinner. I always get the chicken and cheese but today I tried one of their stews, the bulgogi kimchi stew. They give it to you on a stove so make sure you adjust the heat when your soup starts to boil or all your soup will evaporate 😂. I'm always happy with the taste and quality of the dishes I get here, and I usually don't have to wait for a table even without a reservation.

Calan Beef Noodle Restaurant is a popular spot located conveniently near an LRT station, making it easily accessible. The Hand Pulled Noodle in Braised Beef Soup and the Hand Pulled Noodle in Beef Soup are highly recommended dishes, with the former being particularly favored. The noodles are freshly made and generously portioned, providing a filling and delicious meal. The broth is rich and flavorful while the beef slices are tender and perfectly cooked.
First time trying this place and it was outstanding, literally watched our noodles being pulled right in front of us. I tried tye beef noodle soup, and it was delicious the broth was light but flavorful and the noodles were the perfect soft chewy texture. Will definitely be back.

Pretty solid noodles! We ordered the Noodle in Beef Soup and the Noodle in Braised Beef Soup and both were pretty solid. I would say, the Braised Beef broth was much more of a standout. I loved the House Tea here. The way that it was steeped with the herbs had a very sweet flavour without being overpowering. I would stop just to try that!

A clean and inviting restaurant with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were professional and attentive, and the menu, though short and simple, offered excellent options. We ordered the hand-thick noodle braised beef and a side of sliced beef shanks. The braised beef noodles were absolutely delicious—the beef was incredibly tender, the noodles cooked to perfection, and the broth rich and flavorful. I requested the dish to be spicy, and it delivered just the right kick. The sliced beef shanks, served cold with a side of salt and pepper, were also excellent—tender and flavorful, making for a great appetizer. Overall, it was an outstanding dining experience that I’m eager to repeat. As of this review, the restaurant serves halal beef and chicken, which is an added bonus for those who require it. Highly recommended!
Husam S — Google review
I got the thick hand pulled noodle in beef soup. I really enjoyed the food and massive bonus was that it was Halal which meant I could eat whatever I wanted. Really kind staff, took my brother and I some time to understand their combo and how it works but they were willing to re explain as need be and were friendly throughout. One thing I’ll say is the vibes felt somewhere between fast food and restaurant, I got the vibe that most people would get the food for takeout as opposed to sitting there. 6.8/10 - stop by if it’s on your way or take a short detour

Ate here for the first time. It was suggested I get the #5, the hand pulled noodles with minced beef and vegetable soup. I chose the thin noodles out of the four options there was. The broth in this soup was unbelievably flavourful. Needed no seasoning. The broth had tons of minced beef, carrots, potatoes and mushrooms. The noodles were perfectly cooked, al dente, chewy and delicious. The chef pulls the noodles in the kitchen right in front of you. The staff were so kind and friendly. Will eat here every time I come to Calgary!

Their extensive menu features various items such as beef rice noodle soups, vermicelli, Vietnamese subs, stir-fries, and rice dishes like curry chicken rice. Additionally, they offer late-night hours to cater to those with cravings beyond regular dining times.
Love this Vietnamese restaurant!! They have the BEST spring rolls EVER. So crispy and perfectly delicious! Also the portions of their vermicelli bowls are MASSIVE. Definitely ask for extra fish sauce (no extra charge) so it doesn’t get too dry! The pho is solid here, wish they used different type of noodles! I really like how they open late night til 2AM. Both times we’ve been here the service has been wonderful and they always checked up on us :) recommend this spot!

This my second take out trip and I've been in to dine 3-4 times. I love this place and the people! First of all it's super clean. Everyone is really, really nice. One of the managers helped me out by letting me put postcards for an event there last year, doesn't even remember - because it's all just second nature to be helpful for them. The food is great, and very well priced. AND there is parking available that's included with a minimum spend. It doesn't get better than this people!

10/10 STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is the BEST Vietnamese restaurant located inner city Calgary. You get huge portions for the price point, and everything is full of flavour and tastes incredibly authentic. The team members are some of the friendliest humans I’ve ever met, and genuinely care about the patrons that join them in the restaurant. WOW that was sooo freakin good. If i lived in town i would be a regular coming here so often that i would have my own reserved table lol. The house special crab soup was so flavorful we loved it! Your salt n pepper wings were fried to the best level of crispiness that just melts after the crunch. Your deep fried springs rolls are some of the best we have ever eaten. You blow away every Pho house i have been to in Vancouver. And i have been to a lot of them. Thank you for the warm friendly service. A meal we will never forget.

Friendly and attentive staff. The ambiance was nice. Lots of beverages options. They gave us iced tap water. The broth was meh, with little flavors at all. I have had many Pho's from different places in my life (and in Vietnam), but this was disappointing. I'm not sure if it was the type of food we ordered, but we didn't enjoy it much. Won't really recommend.

Vietnamese restaurant
Pho Huydat Vietnamese Noodle House is a neighborhood favorite known for its delicious pho and spring rolls. The dining room is clean and well-kept, with attentive service. Customers rave about the generous portions and flavorful dishes, such as the Hanoi style spring rolls, salad rolls, veggie spring roll appetizers, mango salad, and fried noodle bowl. The menu offers fresh and tasty food at excellent prices.
Solid spot for Pho with a great balance of sweet and savory—not overly sweet like many other places. I decided to branch out and try their Bun Bo Hue. While it wasn’t quite my style, it was flavorful and delivered a nice kick of spice. Now, their chicken wings? Absolutely next level! Perfectly crispy with a satisfying crunch and coated in delicious garlic bits—an absolute must-try. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

I was in town for a tournament, and we went to this cute family owned restaurant. The service was great, they were very nice and was very attentive. I was very hungry after my tournament and ordered a Large Beef Satay Pho. I didn't finish as the portions were huge. But I really enjoyed how good the beef was. I shared some chicken wing, and it was also very delicious. Also over ordered but it was worth it. Then finished my meal with an iced coffee. I also tried some of the Bun Bo Hue soup from my sister, and it was nothing like home. That soup has me thinking about it. If I come back in town, I'm definitely swinging by!

I'm grateful for the recommendation that brought me to your restaurant, and now I'm returning for the third time with my friends. We absolutely adore every appetizer with peanut sauce! It's a new taste experience for me, and we truly enjoy it. The PHO soups are delightful, and the flavors unfold gradually, creating a wonderful dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend your restaurant and extend a big thank you to the entire team!

Caught lunch here by myself last week. Good bun, and the coffee is world-class. Simple, friendly place. Would eat here again.
Dan H — Google review
Definitely recommend the deep-fried wontons for appetizers. Love Vermicelli, so that's always a good option. Their soup would be good during the colder seasons for sure.
Chris H — Google review
Omg!!! It was so good. Generous portions! I’ve gone twice now in one week since hearing about it on tiktoc. I recommend the peanut satay pho!!! Ask for chili oil!! Soooo good
C B — Google review
Absolute gem in town, there are fewer and fewer good Pho restaurants in town and this is one of the few good ones. Small local family business with amazing staff and food. The flavors are phenomenal and the portions are very generous. Stuffed everytime we come and would definitely recommend everyone to get their pho here! The mango salad is fresh and delicious, lots of depth and textures to it. Definitely a must try. The fried noodle bowl is massive and has a decent kick of spice. Their Pho broth packs a punch with each spoon and makes you crave for more without making you thirsty. You can tell its authentic beef bone broth boiled and reduced to a powerful soup base. Can't wait for delivery to become a thing in the future!

Glad we saw this place in Google Maps 🥹 Food was remarkable with huge serving. Everything is also well priced! I had the house special noodle soup and I was amazed by the taste combination of the broth and beef cuts. Serving was great and all the staff were attentive to our table. We'll definitely drop by again when we're in Calgary!

Vegetarian restaurant
Buddha's Veggie is a charming casual eatery that offers an enticing array of vegetarian Asian fusion dishes, alongside a few meat options and delightful dim sum. Originally a fully vegetarian establishment, it has expanded its menu to include select meat dishes while still catering to plant-based diners with influences from Thai, Malay, Cantonese, and Singaporean cuisines. The restaurant features daily specials and affordable lunch deals that make it an attractive spot for both locals and visitors alike.
Everything here is delightful from the service to the menu items! I like that the owners really care about their food. Everything looked fresh and tasted healthy (did not feel bloated afterward). Really enjoyed my time here. Thanks again!

Delicious and friendly staff. Also healthy food here. the price ok some of them are expensive because of small dishes no full need order more and more.
April O — Google review
The meatless ginger beef was praised by a Calgary food blogger as perhaps better than the beef variety. We had to come check it out while we visited town. We were the first dinner guests, and service was extremely fast. The ginger "beef" did not disappoint! Also had vegetarian mapo tofu and some fried spicy eggplant. Giant portions!
Erik F — Google review
Great Dim Sum at better prices then competition in the city. Really shines as a vegetarian restaurant. The menu could use a little more design as its extremely plain and shows little to no photos of the dishes
Garrett B — Google review
Pretty tasty food! We had 4 dishes for 3 of us and we finished them all!

Really great take-out. Vegan options (veggie goose, veggie sweet and sour porc, veggie popcorn oysters). Good atmosphere for dining-in too, casual setting.

This place was incredibly cool! If you're a vegetarian this is a must visit. Tons of interesting and unique vegetarian options. I was very impressed! Tasty as well. There is also a meat menu which I imagine is also delicious.

Japanese restaurant
Ichi Rock [ra:ku] is a modern Japanese restaurant in Calgary that offers a diverse menu of Japanese and Korean cuisine. The place is popular for its creative sushi rolls, main dishes, and an array of ramen options. Customers rave about the rich and flavorful curry ramen with a hint of spice, as well as the unique Italian fusion tomato ramen topped with Parmesan cheese.
A small modern Japanese design restaurant that is sure to make you come back and try other dishes. The place isn't easily noticeable, but I can tell that this place has good patrons. We arrived at 5pm and there are groups of people waiting for it to open for dinner. Food: they got lots of option to choose from that will definately fill up your craving for Japanese food. Aside from that they also offer some Korean cuisine. We ordered takoyaki for starter which has 6pcs, the takoyaki has good amount of octopus meat inside which is good but nothing really special. The next food is the chef special bbq piggy roll compose of braised pork belly, crab meat, crispy shrimp, spicy sauce, shredded chilli pepper, and green onions. It synergized, well seasoned, the sweet and mild spicy sauce created a balance taste that is not too overpowering in flavor. I highly recommend it. If your also looking for quality ramen that isn't pricey then try the tonkatsu ramen as it provides adequate portion size to fill almost anyone. The broth was well seasoned, the noodles had a medium firmness which I like. The best part about this dish is that it comes with an egg where as in other places incurs additional charge. Overall, I will be back for more.

Had an interesting experience here. Had been once a few years ago but they rebranded, renovated and changed the menu but failed to update any of their digital presence. It's now called "Ramen Roku". This place was understaffed. Just one server for a busy lunch. They didn't have enough menus to go around so five minutes after sitting down, our table of 7 shared two printed menus. The table of four next to us had to share one. The new menu is completely different from the one online. The only main courses are ramen or sushi. No lunch combos, etc. We each ordered ramen and two orders each of the spring rolls and gyoza (as "recommended" on the menu). Our drinks took a little while as the server was much too busy. A second server showed up eventually helping ease the backlog. Ramen is ordered in three sizes: Regular, L, or XL, which determines your noodles. Also you can order spice: level 1, 2, or 3. This makes it super confusing for the servers when bringing our your food. Is it regular? Regular spice or regular size? The ramen was decent. The broth wasn't too salty and was enjoyable. I had the Jiro regular, large (confusing, right?) and it came with tempura veggies on top. This is typical on udon but I've never seen it on ramen before. I liked it, despite the contrast in flavours. As we were getting up to leave, they brought our our gyoza and spring rolls (forgot about those, didn't you?) but we refused them as they took about 30 minutes longer than they should have. We expected them as appetizers, not dessert. All in, this place needs work. The new decor is nice but the lack of choice will be off-putting to some. The service is slow, the menu is confusing, and they need to run to Kinkos so they can print more of them. I probably wouldn't come back but wish them the best with their new launch.
Colin C — Google review
Hands down the best ramen place in Calgary, and this is comparing to Jinya, Shikiji, Shiki Menya, Muku, Menyatai, goro n gun, Ookini and Ikemen. I'd also say the ramen here is the closest to being authentic as well. The BEST charshu and plenty as well, thick cut and braised to perfect softness of the pork belly. The broth is full of umami and piping hot! They also don't charge you if you want to change from thin to thick noodles unlike Jinya. Also love how they come in different sizes as well, regular usually do the job for me, but it also comes in large and extra large. Highly recommend their Jiro ramen. This is the to go for ramen for me from now on. (Or until the another better place comes to town) Pictures are black tonkotsu and shoyu ramen.
Vivian S — Google review
One of the better tasting Ramen's Ive had. I recommend getting the Jiro Ramen. The Takoyaki was good too.

Great food, amazing service, cold Sapporo beer!
C T — Google review
We came here to try the ramen again, only to find out the restaurant has switched to a Korean restaurant, but with the same name. Their menu is small and seems like most orders are meant to be shared. We tried the pork bone soup ($34.99 for a large pot) and it was decent. They give you a lot of pork bones, and a little bit of napa cabbage. The soup was quite spicy and heavy in flavour. Rice comes separately ($2 a bowl). We had lots of pork bones and soup leftover and that lasted another meal!
Mindy L — Google review
Although the decor is a bit of a mishmash, the food is certainly worth it. In addition to the traditional Japanese sushi options, the restaurant offers fusion dishes. These consist primarily of non-traditional selection of rolls and other options. They don't offer anything particularly outlandish, just a pleasant mixing of tasty foods. Recommended.

If you find yourself at the Crossroads Market or Calgary Farmers Market, make sure to take a break and indulge in a delightful meal at Eats of Asia. This hidden gem offers an ever-changing menu that showcases affordable dishes inspired by various Asian cuisines. From their daily ramen specials to hearty rice bowls and flavorful curries, there's always something new to savor. A recent visit revealed a standout pork belly rice bowl that was both generous and satisfying, making it perfect for post-activity meals like badminton.
Just had a late lunch here the other day after badminton at Sunridge Badminton Centre. Never heard of this place but my friend highly recommended it. It is located inside Sunny Cider so there isn’t any signage outside the building. Food, drinks and service was great (had the daily special Pprk Belly rice bowl and their Apple Cider) - pork belly slices was nice and thick with a generous portion. Definitely will be back and will be adding this place to our rotation of post badminton meals in the area!
Hung L — Google review
Oh wow, what a delicious lunch! Inside the SunnyCider Bar & Kitchen which was awesome in itself for cider! Tried the special of the day which was Pork Belly Thai Noodles as well as the Thai Curry Chicken Bowl. Started with the Spam Musubi which was the BEST I've ever had (better than the ones I had in Maui). Very, very delicious!
Brittany H — Google review
100% recommend. Come here on a regular, the taste of all the food is great, cooked really well (shout out to the ramen broth, the mushrooms cooked in it & the super tender meat; and the amazing misubi). Price is very fair & love that their menu is always rotating (lunch specials etc). I tell all my friends visiting Calgary to stop by here 👍🏽 worth the visit. Thank you for the love & detail put into your cooking!

We came in for dinner tonight and had a great meal. The yakisoba was delicious, and the chicken bites were wonderful with the Thai herbs. We also ordered the dumplings, spring rolls, a couple onigiri and musubi. We also tried the non-alcoholic cider. Everything was wonderful.
Jay A — Google review
Delicious food...especially the chicken katsu steamed buns and ramen! The butter mochi is tasty, too. Definitely recommend if you’re in Calgary!
S S — Google review
Amazing little stand in the crossroads market. They specialize in Asian street food. They do some items that incorporate different Asian cuisine... delicious. They have $3.50 spam musubi and 4$ onigiri. Their rice is amazing in their items. They also have lots of items under 5 dollars so you can try a few things for under 10$. They deserve more recognition for having scratch made items that are also creative.
SM S — Google review
Eats of Asia has a really cool vibe with Street style fusion dishes and prices to match (each dish was affordable enough to try a few different things). We tried the japa-tots and spam kimbap. The tots were a healthy portion with just the right amount of teriyaki and Japanese mayo. We felt the spam was a little lacking in quantity, though, with pieces hidden here and there. The spam kimbap was well balanced, however, with similar flavour and a better ratio of spam to rice. Well definitely be back to try some of their rice bowls.

Best sesame cold noodle we have found in Calgary so far. Flavorful and refreshing with a little kick of spice and good balance of veggie and yummy pork.
