Restaurant
CRAFT Beer Market Calgary Downtown, which has expanded to multiple locations across Canada since its inception in 2011, offers a diverse menu and an extensive selection of over 100 local and international craft beers on tap. The restaurant is known for its Ahi Poke Bowl and Crispy Chicken Sandwich, but what truly distinguishes it is the lively atmosphere and dedication to promoting craft beer culture.
Craft is a great spot with really tasty cocktails! The food can be a bit spicy, but it’s full of flavor. It’s the perfect place for a Friday night out — fun atmosphere, good music, and great service. We keep coming back and it never disappoints
Yuliia D — Google review
Hands down one of my favorite breweries! The beer is always on point, and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Ashley and Bri were absolutely fantastic - knowledgeable about the beers, friendly, and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed and even recommended some great pairings. Can't wait to come back and try more of their beers.
Rahul L — Google review
My friends and I enjoyed a relaxed brunch here. The dish that stole the show was the chorizo hush it's incredibly delicious and an absolute must-order. For the main course, the steak frites was well-executed and came with perfect fries 🍟. Bella great server

My favorite and go to spot in Calgary! Love the food and wide selection of Craft Beer. Professional staff! Had a great time and ate 3 meals there during The Stampede. I already miss it very much.
Matt R — Google review
While the experience offered some truly memorable highlights, there's certainly room for improvement on the service front. The stars of the show: the beer and the food. The selection of craft brews was exceptional, showcasing a diverse range of styles that truly captured the spirit of Alberta. Equally impressive was the food menu. It's clear that the kitchen takes as much pride in their offerings as the brewers do in their beer. The quality of ingredients and the execution were top-notch, making it a true dining experience, not just a place for a quick bite. However, the overall experience was somewhat dampened by the service. While not outright rude, it felt inconsistent and lacked the attentive touch one would expect from an establishment with such high-quality food and drink. There were noticeable delays in getting orders taken and refills. It felt as though staff were stretched thin or perhaps not as engaged as they could be, leading to moments where we felt a bit overlooked. A more proactive approach from the serving team would elevate the entire visit. All in all its a gem for its outstanding beer and delicious food, making it a must-visit for any Calgary foodie or beer enthusiast. With some focused attention on improving the consistency and attentiveness of their service, this spot has the potential to be truly exceptional. I'd still recommend it, but go in with the expectation that you might need a little patience.
Rakesh K — Google review
Popular for a reason and I'm surprised happy hour isn't more busy being down town. $10 negroni? Nice. $6 pints? Heck yeah. Fried sushi? Wow. The lager on special is fruity. The fried sushi is so good, it's like salmon caviar on top of the crunchy rice at the bottom of the rice cooker but in the best way, lightly fried not heavy or grossly crunchy. It has a fresh spicy pepper garnish and mango compote that are top notch. Not too salty. Lots of green onion so not for non-onion people maybe. Not an egregious amount of tvs, or at least they aren't in your face.
Adrian C — Google review
I enjoyed the lively atmosphere—it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a fun vibe. The food was good and came out quickly. Drinks were just okay—I’d recommend sticking with beer over cocktails. Overall, a solid place to hang out with friends.
Linda H — Google review
Had dinner at Craft Beer Market in downtown Calgary and really enjoyed it! The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful with the perfect crunch, and the Cajun shrimp Alfredo was rich, creamy, and packed with just the right amount of kick — super tasty and filling. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes made it worth it. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and overall a solid dining experience. Would definitely come back!

Modern Steak on Stephen Avenue in Calgary is a top choice for steak lovers due to its focus on serving locally sourced beef from various Alberta ranches. The restaurant's pride lies in its Modern Benchmark Black Angus, which comes from the offspring of a bull owned by the establishment. Owner Stephen Deere's meticulous approach to breeding, feeding, and grilling is evident throughout the venue, with informative materials available for guests.
Great spot for Halal steaks in Calgary. There are a broad variety of options on the menu to suit all palates, and the staff did a great job at making recommendations for us to try. There's ample space for dining-in, and the food comes quickly to your table. Special mention to the sticky toffee pudding, which was the perfect dessert to cap off our meal. Highly recommend visiting if you're in the area!

Went with my husband for our first anniversary, I cannot say enough good things about this place! We were given a hand signed card, complimentary bubbly upon arrival, incredible service by all the staff (shout out to our server Tess, you were awesome), delicious food (get the mashed potatoes) and a complimentary dessert. The DJ set the perfect mood too. Everything here was incredible!
Emily P — Google review
I recently celebrated a special occasion at Modern Steakhouse, and the experience exceeded all expectations. I had mentioned in advance that it was a celebration, and the team went above and beyond to make the day unforgettable. From the beautifully arranged bouquet and handwritten card to the complimentary starter drinks, every detail was thoughtful and personal. The service was outstanding, Marina (our hostess) and the manager Trevor truly ensured that everything was flawless. Their hospitality and attention to detail made this celebration the highlight of our special day. Highly recommend Modern Steakhouse for anyone looking for not just a meal, but a memorable experience. 💯

I dined at this restaurant last night and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The level of service was truly exceptional—some of the best I’ve encountered in recent memory. From the moment we were seated, our server, Peter, made us feel welcome and well cared for. I ordered the ribeye steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection—beautifully seared on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right to bring out the full flavor of the meat. Peter recommended a bottle of red wine to accompany the meal, and his suggestion was spot-on. The wine paired wonderfully with the steak, enhancing the overall dining experience. What stood out most was Peter’s attentiveness and professionalism. He was warm, knowledgeable, and always seemed to anticipate what we needed without being intrusive. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made a lasting impression. This was not just a great meal, but a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning and will be recommending this place to friends and family.
Tendai K — Google review
The service was very attentive and welcoming--including the hostess, floor manager, waiter, and runner. Each one was very friendly and helpful. As a sort of amuse-bouche, we were provided with truffle oil topped popcorn, which my wife enjoyed. I had the ribeye which was perfectly done, very tender, juicy, and well seasoned. Probably the best steak that I've had in a long while. My wife had the braised rib which was also very tender but could have used a touch more salt. It was served with wide, flat noodles that had a good texture and taste. To finish we had the chocolate cake which was decent but a little too dense and dry and could have used more raspberry coulee but otherwise had a good taste. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Spend the afternoon on the rooftop of Modern Steak and man was it good. Marina was our server and she was incredible. Polite, friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the menu making some fantastic recommendations. The food was fresh and very flavourful. The patio was clean and bright. Was a great experience and meal all around. Will be back for sure. 5 stars!

We came here for the August Date Night and the food and wine pairings (at least the wine we chose) was very good! The NY Strip was cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes for the sides were huge !! The only thing I didn’t like as much was the crispy potatoes, but they were still good, just not for me :))
AaronVSL — Google review
One of the popular Steakhouses in Calgary Interior is chic, service is excellent and prices are reasonable. They've got outdoor patio and a patio rooftop . For food their NY strip was cooked to well, although I did prefer medium rare it came medium to medium-well. The fillet mignon was delicious along with their sides. Overall a great place and great location.

Located in Calgary, Murrieta's West Coast Bar & Grill is a refined dining spot offering upscale seafood and steak dishes. Situated on the second floor of the former Alberta Hotel building, it provides an elegant yet welcoming ambiance with a balcony perfect for people watching. The restaurant, which opened in 2001, takes its name from Joaquin Murrieta and offers some of the best seafood in the landlocked city.
Great food, beautiful ambience, and fantastic service. It was quieter than it deserved to be, especially for a Friday night! Anastasia was a great server and recommended the perfect meal for me. Will definitely come back next time I’m in town.
Sandra B — Google review
What a beautiful restaurant! You feel like you're in a quaint courtyard - there is a huge skylight and lovely brick walls. The food was out of this world. Highly recommend the gnocchi and chicken ballotine. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They recommended the garlic shrimp to start and it sounded too good to pass on (it was sensational)! New favorite spot for a nice dinner out 😊
Chelsey P — Google review
We had a very nice dinner here. Both of us ordered the mushroom risotto and loved it. The trio of dips is definitely worth having. We are thinking of a future visit with the trio of dips over a beer. The caesar salad was merely ok
Rob W — Google review
Such a great venue for dining. Food was great, as well as drinks. Services also very accommodating! Love the steak the most, lol
Moomoo — Google review
I had the scallop fettuccine and it was delicious! Our was great and the food came out relatively quickly during the downtown lunch rush. Heads up though, because it’s more central and the cost of rent in downtown is super high, the price reflects it.
Angela — Google review
TLDR: Don’t get the Pork Belly and watch out for a rude service staff. Photos you can tell there is some char to the pork belly but it is 90% fat. On 17 May Dinner, I went by the restaurant after seeing glowing reviews on Google but was met with disappointment and frustration over the service provided. We ordered the Alberta Steak and the Braised Pork Belly. To our surprise, the braised pork belly was all fat and had barely any meat on it. As much as I understand that Pork Belly is a fatty cut of meat, however, the meat to fat ratio was ridiculous for a $30+ price tag. It was 10 % meat if I’m being gracious and 90% fat. As we ate the dish in hopes of eating something more substantial than just solely fat, it was just disappointing and did not relieve any hunger. After that, we gave feedback to your staff - White Male with Blondish hair and a moustache. He replied to our feedback with such aloofness and with a dismissive tone saying “Yea, Pork Belly is just fat”. He replied us as if we never had pork belly before in such an incredulous manner. Honestly, horrendous service from this staff and I heard he is also newly hired. If I knew your Braised Pork Belly dish is “just fat”, I wouldn’t have chosen the dish. We then gave feedback on this poor attitude to the Asian Male with spectacles/glasses and he was empathetic and shared the feedback to your on shift manager. We did get a 25% off the dish but to be fair, that was a horrible service recovery as the pork belly was simply inedible with the greasy thick taste of fat it left behind.
Han C — Google review
What a delightful restaurant to share time with friends and family! Ambiance is captivating! If you wish to be served by one of the best servers in Calgary...ask for Piper's section!!!

Absolutely amazing place to visit...lighting is amazing, food is amazing, service is amazing, overall atmosphere is amazing... honestly, I was thoroughly impressed. From a business meeting to a date or casual meal, Murrieta's is a perfect establishment to try out. Their food is truly a delight and well presented, I am most certainly coming back! (Be sure to try the trio dip with bread appetizer) Update: Still an amazing spot! Customer service is quite exceptional and helps make this establishment stand out from the rest!

Wine bar
Restaurant
Vin Room Mission is a stylish and modern wine bar in Calgary, offering an extensive selection of 109 wines by the glass. With three locations across the city, including one at YYC Calgary International Airport, it has become a popular destination for both wine enthusiasts and casual drinkers. The outdoor patio provides chic sidewalk seating for patrons to enjoy their wine in an urban setting.
My partner and I went for a quick happy hour drink and snack on (what I and Avenue Magazine believe is) one of the best patios in Calgary. Everything was fantastic. Edwin, our server, was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and competent. The happy hour snacks and wine were amazing. I cannot believe they can sell wine and food of that quality at such a discounted price. Specifically, we had the oysters and the duck wings. The oysters were so fresh we didn't need the mignonette sauce - although it was delicious too. We could have eaten two orders of the duck wings. The sauce was amazing. The white Bourgogne wine was also exceptional. We had plans that evening, so we could not stay for dinner. I must admit that I was quite sad to leave, so we plan to return soon for a full evening of excellent food, drink, and service. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Cynthia G — Google review
A great place for a drink and snacks or dinner. When you are inside, it's like being back in time. Rustic atmosphere. They offer a variety of large and small plates. Some items can be ordered by the piece. This gives a small table a chance to sample more items. Great idea. Service is exceptional. Not too rush, but attentive enough. Will definitely be returning.
Howard N — Google review
Early dinner on a rainy day. Fantastic tapas - especially the duck wings & bacon-wrapped dates - lovely wine, and friendly service made it an exceptional meal.
Heidi S — Google review
We came to Vin Room Mission for happy hour on a Monday evening to celebrate our boss’s birthday who also happens to be a sommelier and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Amanda, our server, went above and beyond to make the night special. Even before our reservation, she reached out personally to understand how we envisioned the evening, which was such a thoughtful touch. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted, and to our surprise, Amanda had a beautifully arranged charcuterie board ready at our table to kick off the celebration. It was such a lovely and unexpected way to start the evening. Throughout the night, we explored several wines from their impressive selection, and every recommendation hit the mark. The wine menu is clearly curated with care, offering a wide variety of options for every palate. The atmosphere was cozy, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed celebration. The food was fantastic. The duck wings were a standout and a first for many of us, and they did not disappoint! All in all, it was an incredible experience thanks to Amanda’s attention to detail, the warm ambiance, and the amazing food and wine. We’ll definitely be back and recommending Vin Room Mission to friends and colleagues!
Anneka H — Google review
Such a great spot! Great food, amazing wine selection, and friendly service in a cozy atmosphere. They also do some great take-out options too. Ordered the Thanksgiving dinner to take home and it was absolutely amazing. So good, great flavour, and very generous portion. Love this place!
Greg C — Google review
Overall, it was a nice night out. We had an excellent waiter for the evening, introducing the extensive cocktail and wine selection. TAPPS were tasty, unfortunately the main was not as tasty as I hoped. My friends ordered a variety of different wines and enjoyed them, also nice to have a variety of oz to select from. Unfortunately the cocktail were not as enjoyable.
L L — Google review
We sat outside on the rooftop patio which is lovely. We did move into the lounge when the weather became unstable. No problem moving. We lounged over drinks and shareable light options and then shared some features. Met the chef Adam, who is creative and very friendly, along with our server Jason, made our evening fun. Loads of laughs, lounge environment, inside and outside options!
Sharlene M — Google review
Came here because of its dog friendly patio but would definitely return again to the restaurant for their tapas and wine. The tapa style menu worked well because you can try so many different dishes and pair with your drink. I can't find anything to complain about the food. Everything from the spaghetti, steak frites, lobster nachos and charcuterie board was well made and full of flavor that melts in your mouth. The complimentary truffle popcorn was gone in a few seconds because of how delicious it was. Wish they could give more of the popcorn. In terms of the dog friendly patio, they provide a "dog bed" which is just a large dog cushion, but they gave a water bowl and complimentary dog treats which my corgi loved. There really isn't a space to tie your dog's leash to, and the patio space is a bit small with only 2 small bar tables and a long skinny bar table seating. The patio could fit about 8 guests if packed. It's an alright space for your dog, but unfortunately it would be more comfortable to be inside the restaurant without your furry friend. I recommend coming for happy hour which is 3pm-6pm and 9pm-close.

Had a fantastic time at YYC Rooftop! The views were amazing, and the vibe was perfect for a lunch out. Abby was our server and she was absolutely great — super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for good drinks, great atmosphere, and top-notch service!

This restaurant was so cool. Love the ambience with all the flowers and art. Delicious pizza. I don't think this place is meant for kiddos typically but my server was very accommodating for my baby and I during our visit!

Here to contribute more to what people are saying. This place is dope! I’ll absolutely be back! I got the Salmon and it was nothing short of absolutely incredible. You can really tell whoever is in the kitchen knows very well what they’re doing. The potatoes that came with the meal were crispy on the outside but soft and crumbled on every bite in your mouth. And the sauce was 10/10. I also got a dessert, and they voluntarily wrote happy birthday for me as well as sang to me! This place is awesome. I can’t recommend it enough. With the salmon, beer, and snickerdoodle dessert, I paid $60 tip included for the entire meal. 5 stars easily
Lawrence C — Google review
Food and service are better than it has any reason to be for an environment with a gimmick like this. Order the steak rare for medium rare, Pizza has a surprisingly great crust. Chocolate brownie is a bit too sweet with not enough salt or anything to contrast. Not awful, but the brownie is sweet, the frosting is sweet, the ice cream is sweet. There isn't any contrast here.

Had an amazing night at Rooftop YYC! The vibe was perfect, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere made it such a fun night out. Huge shoutout to Winston for being such a great help — super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a good time in the city!

High recommended to visit. Neat vibes, amazing food, and we had a great server Daryna. For food we had the mexi-corn dip and the short rib tacos and both were amazing. The drinks were also super fun and delicious.

Randomly came across this place while walking around downtown and decided to stop in around 3pm for a quick appetizer. It was surprisingly busy for that time of day! We tried the poke nachos, and they were really tasty. The place has a great vibe for group events or parties, and the prices are about the same as Earls or Cactus Club Cafe.
Lyn B — Google review
What an amazing all-year round covered rooftop restaurant. Absolutely huge, see pics. A great place for larger groups and gatherings. The food was superb, see pics. My only complaint was they didn't top up our water glasses all night. But that didn't stop me giving it 5 stars.

Despite not having a perfect downtown panorama, the ambiance with skyscrapers and string lights creates a beautiful setting.
National on 8th is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city. The atmosphere is fantastic—lively, welcoming, and always buzzing with good energy. The people here are super friendly, from the staff to the crowd. And the patio? It’s unbeatable during the summer—spacious, sunny, and the perfect place to unwind with friends. Definitely a go-to for great vibes and good times.

The best part about this place.... NO cover charge!!!! 😃💚 Never ate here, so I cant say much about their food; great atmosphere, busy, great dance music. Huge dance floor. A really good choice if you want to go out dancing. Note!!!! It's a younger crowd. A fun place if you don't mind being around them!!!

The night was good, until we were all aggressively yelled at & sworn at by a bouncer who was standing on a table, yelling that “the club is closed. Leave now” in an extremely condescending way, when it was literally 2:01am. We were then herded like sheep down the staircase. I understand they’re wanting to get home but they absolutely do not have to be so aggressive and rude about it. Will definitely not be back.

I’ve been to a lot of bars in the area, but this place stands out every time. The atmosphere is chill but lively, perfect whether you’re out with friends or just unwinding after work. The drinks are top-notch—creative cocktails, great beer selection, and solid pours all around. What really makes this bar special, though, is the staff. Everyone’s super welcoming, and the service is consistently great. You can tell the team really cares about creating a good experience. Shoutout to the manager—it’s clear they’re doing something right! Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. It’s become one of my go-to spots.

We came here twice for lunch and dinner. My friends ordered some burgers and I ordered short ribs with rice dish for lunch and salmon dish for dinner. My dishes were delicious and I enjoyed it. Service at lunch was good, however, during dinner they were very busy so the service was very slow and the server forgot the my friend’s order multiple times. We still enjoyed the ambient and food, but just got let down by the service.
T P — Google review
Last night my friends and I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar. We had stamps showing we’d already been admitted, stepped outside for some air, and when we tried to re-enter we were denied by the bouncer. Despite calmly explaining that we had valid stamps, he escalated the situation unnecessarily and even went so far as to physically push me across the pavement. This is completely unacceptable behavior from someone whose job is to maintain safety and professionalism. Guests should not have to worry about being assaulted by staff, especially after following the bar’s own rules. I truly hope management takes this seriously, because no customer deserves to be treated this way. Until something is done about the security staff, I cannot recommend this bar to anyone. Use the security camera footage to isolate this problem ASAP.
Kyler R — Google review
National on 8th in Calgary is a bustling spot, often packed, which means it can get pretty loud and service might lag, especially when it's time to get the bill. The chicken wings are okay - nothing too special. If you're a wine lover, you might find the options a bit limited, and beer fans might be disappointed if they're after something specific, as they didn't have the beer I wanted. It's a lively place for sure, but keep these things in mind if you're planning a visit. The interior has interesting features.

Canadian restaurant
Restaurant
Wine bar
River Café is an upscale dining spot housed in a beautifully restored park concession building. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing the finest local ingredients directly from producers and growers, ensuring top-notch quality. Their Canadian-style cuisine focuses on simple yet transformed meat, fish, and produce cooked over an orchard wood-burning grill.
My husband and I got married at River Cafe this June. We had the absolute best experience and so did our guests. If anyone is considering getting married here - do it! Kerry was really wonderful to work with as the event coordinator. She was very timely with her emails and made time for us to meet in person multiple times. She made the process fun and I felt extremely confident in her ability to make the day run smoothly (which it did! Even with a bit of rain). The bar staff was able to recreate a cocktail from last years menu to be served on our day that we loved. You can tell that weddings are not a new thing here. The staff has clearly worked many. They were efficient and did a fantastic job as a team. We had 90 people at our wedding and so many people commented about how short the wait for the bar was - everything was done very efficiently. We had so many comments from guests about how much they loved the venue. The food was so good (make sure one of you gets the Arctic Char because it was delicious!). We can’t wait to spend our future anniversaries at River Cafe. :)

Their weekend brunch was great! The Benedict biscuit tasted like it was made in the morning (and it was amazing by the way). Never had an eggs Benedict with arctic char but would definitely get again. We love the Canadian flavours and it really shows in the cooking :))

A lovely late lunch on the patio today! Service was excellent, our waitress was friendly and kinda laid back - which actually suits us very well. Food was great also: the flatbread (pizza) and the glazed eggplant + tart for dessert. The eggplant was our favourite for sure! If we lived here, we'd be back 🥰

We got the sablefish appetizer and halibut main. Both very yummy. The chocolate dessert was absolutely delicious. This is in the middle of Prince’s Island Park so it’s a bit of a (pleasant) trek from downtown parking lots.

Beautiful location inside a park in Calgary, not too far from the Chinatown area. This spot has beautiful views and an amazing serene feel to it as you approach it after a walk around the park. The food here is decent - came here for brunch and they featured many of the brunch classics with lots of locally sourced meats and vegetables. The portion sizes were decent as well, so you won’t leave hungry. Overall - it’s a good spot in Calgary to check out for brunch and a stroll in the park.

We had an incredible lunch here. Sat outside on a gorgeous afternoon. We were seated promptly and order was taken quickly. Drinks were delicious. The restaurant filled up quickly, and the wait for food was a bit long, but it was worth it. Every bite was great. Standouts include the lamb sirloin flatbread and the beef tartare. Service was very friendly and accommodating with a booster seat available for a child.

Beautiful location, great decor and ambiance. We went for brunch. First time there. Food and drinks were delicious except for the fish cake! We had a scone, monogram coffee, cider, bacon, eggs with hash, lamb sausage and toast which were all tasty. Only thing I didn’t love was the fish cake. It tasted too fishy. I had halibut a few times before and it never tasted so fishy. I did live on the west coast in Vancouver by the ocean so maybe I should not compare fish in Alberta to fish I had while living near the ocean. That’s my honest opinion and experience. I would maybe try the restaurant one more time for dinner, and see how it is, although we will likely not get the fish again. Server was nice overall. I did mention the fishy taste of fish cakes and asked if that’s normal, he said it’s supposed to taste fishy so I said ok. I usually don’t mention things to restaurants but was curious if it’s supposed to taste the way it tasted. I did mention all the foods we did like as well.

What an awesome experience. Today we visited river cafe and had Stephanie serving us. 10/10 service from Stephanie. She knew her stuff, had great recommendations (that held up), she was friendly and personable. The food was incredible. I love that it’s all Canadian sourced products. Atmosphere is beautiful. Would absolutely return.

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Bonterra Trattoria in Calgary offers a taste of Italy with its warm Tuscan-style space and enchanting terrace. Chef Joseph Lavergne puts a contemporary spin on classic Italian dishes, using fresh ingredients to create exciting flavors. The restaurant's outdoor terrace provides a perfect setting to savor exquisite pasta, risotto, and meat entrees while enjoying the ambiance reminiscent of Tuscany.
This place is possibly one of my favorite places to eat in the city, it was my first visit for dinner and I have nothing bad to say! Our server George was knowledgeable and witty, he spent time talking with us and making recommendations but didn't stand wrong and long. The food is to die for and we had a lovely bottle of red and tiramisu for dessert. The ambiance, music and vibe were all on point too! I must visit location in Calgary for an amazing dinner

Despite having a reservation in a private area for a birthday, we still had to wait probably around 45 minutes at the bar which is not ideal at all especially since we had other plans after.. I understand waiting a bit as restaurants do get extremely busy, but 45 minutes is kind of a reach especially if we booked a reservation. The staff were decent, but our server was a sweetheart. I ordered a risotto and it was delicious. The atmosphere is loud, but reasonably so as it was busy. Wish I could have tried more food as from what I tried, the food was great but we were on a bit of a time crunch after waiting.

Me and my boyfriend came here for dinner this evening for our anniversary. We put on the booking that it was our anniversary when the prompt asked if there was an occasion and didn’t expect anything. However, we were greeted by the lovely hostess who congratulated us on our anniversary and then they gave us champagne on the house and a card from all of the members of staff on shift. Our waiter was so lovely and gave us lots of tips for our upcoming trip and was such a kind and chatty man, we loved talking to him. They really went above and beyond, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was amazing. Thank you so much, you made our day 🩷🩷

Bonterra isn't new and trending but they consistently deliver tasty food and great service. We are long time diners (we had our wedding there many many years ago) and have continued to enjoy the evolving menus and options. The patio is still beautiful and the wine room a great place for small gatherings. This last visit we tried the Date Night which was a nice assortment of appetizers and desserts with a choice of main - would recommend for anyone hoping to get a glimpse into the regular al a carte menu.

One of the best meals and dining experiences we’ve ever had!! Dwalu was our server and he was impeccable! His energy was unreal, and walked us through the specials and the menu. We sat at the patio and we felt like we were teleported to Italy, such beautiful decor and ambience. The food was so delicious and came out fast! I had the gnocchi and it was *chef’s kiss*. My fiancée and I came to celebrate our engagement and the whole Bonterra Trattoria team made it the most special evening! Bringing us champagne, dessert, and even a card signed by the team, this made the night 100/10! Highly, highly recommend!

Visiting town and stumbled upon this place. A bit on the pricier side, but the food is good. The inside is nice but seemed a bit noisy, so we sat on the terrace and it was fantastic. Very pleasant with heaters.

Had a wonderful dinner tonight with family. Very good food and server Mathew P was very helpful and attentive. Will surely come back. December 28, 2024: We visited again for the third time this year, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. As usual, we brought my little granddaughter, and we were so grateful when our server, Anthony, kindly accommodated our request to switch to a larger table. The food was just as delicious as always, and the service was exceptional. Anthony went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable meal. We always know we can count on great food and warm hospitality here, and we'll definitely continue to recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. A fantastic spot for any occasion!

I’m humbled to say that I have not had a restaurant experience this good in years. I went here spontaneously for a casual lunch with my friend. We were treated like absolute gold. The chef accidentally made a minor mistake in my order and our server/bartender refused to let me pay for my meal because he has a standard and pride in their food. We discovered our host/server/bartender was named Dylan. He was the soul of customer care perfection. He recommended beverages and appetizers that were an experience to enjoy. I even ate slowly just to enjoy the tastes more. I had a Moroccan chicken salad. It had all the elements of a perfectly curated piece of art….hint of spicy, dynamic flavour profiles, juicy chicken but crisp on the outside, dry crunch in the fried chicken peas, a touch of sweet…I actually miss that salad. Anyhow, Dylan was an actual dream come true. He understood that food costs more these days and he and his team really makes every penny worth it. Actually if I owned a business, I would try recruit him.

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while even though to be honest the food and drinks weren't bad at all. We ordered the Okonomiyaki Tater Tots which were pretty good with an interesting flavour and a nice crunch. I also had a peanut butter stout that was nice to sip on. The fundamental issue was the service as their system was down. As the waitress at the end of our meal said "Honestly, we should have closed". They probably should have. It took us around 45 minutes to get our food and about half an hour for the bill. At multiple points, we had to stand up to get their attention and only then the servers would be there. It would take around 20ish minutes sometimes to get a drink, with the most egregious example being when the waitress asked if we wanted a cocktail as the kitchen had made ten, and could bring them out sooner. We ended up waiting twenty minutes for that drink. Will not be returning anytime soon.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is awesome, it has a great vibe! We had a reservation so no wait for a table and were seated and served promptly. Our drink orders took a bit to get and there were a few mix cups but the staff were very friendly. We ordered a pizza, sandwich and doughnuts for dessert. Pizza and doughnuts were great, the sandwich and fries were very salty! Would definitely recommend the shaft on draft for a drink and the doughnuts for dessert. The restaurant was very busy so service was on the slower side and there was an error on the bill. Instead of a refund on the item that we didn't order they gave us a gift card for double the value of the item.

A good place for drinks and patio time. Do not recommend the food. We ordered deep fried pickles (4/5), house fries (0/5), chicken wings (1/5), sliders (2/5). It felt rushed to come out. Drinks are reasonably priced and patio is one of the best on 17th ave. Food was just not worth it.

Dropped by Tommy Field for a casual bite and found it to be a solid option for late-night eats in the area. The food was pretty standard pub fare — nothing out of the ordinary, but it hit the spot. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server was absolutely lovely — super friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming. It made the whole experience feel warm and relaxed. If you're in Seton and looking for a laid-back spot that stays open late, this place does the trick.

I was not impressed with my food at all. My quesadilla was terrible. Chunks of beef and some sort of cheese and unknown wrap. There was no dip to go with this. The fries were not crisp or hot. My husband was not impressed with his burger and fries. My grandson ordered fries and didn't even eat them. It was my daughter's birthday. She ate about half of her burger and a couple of fries. No wonder our waitress didn't ask how our food was.

Great food, the Olive bread they bring to the table when they bring you menus and get your drink order is Sooo delicious. I knew then it was going to be a great meal. I had one of their burgers was very flavourful as well. Our server was great as well. She was very friendly and even offered suggestions on food and drink. My only knock and is it's a Touch loud though if your trying to have a conversation at your table and I wish you had more of a craft beer selection. Especially being a great gastro pub. Otherwise it was good.

If you’re okay with waiting nearly an hour for your food, this place might be for you. Unfortunately, the experience after that long wait made it even worse. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was dry and completely lacking flavor. The fries? Somehow worse—bland, unseasoned, and borderline inedible. Even the gravy, which I hoped would salvage the fries, had a strange sour taste that made it unusable. What really baffled me was the management. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years, and watching the owner casually walk around picking up the occasional plate while the kitchen was clearly backed up felt like a joke. There was no urgency, no leadership, and certainly no awareness of the customer experience. The least he could do was smile once or acknowledge a customer. Our server was great! She was hard working, smiled and did her best to manage the chaos. This wasn’t just a disappointing meal—it was a disappointing operation from top to bottom. I had hoped for more and left incredibly frustrated and unsatisfied. I will not be returning.

We walked by this little gem randomly on a Wednesday night and decided to stop in, and so happy we did. What a great time. From the extremely polite door man to the absolutely amazing service we received throughout the night. They were extremely tentative to our needs, ensuring our drinks were always full, counters and tables always clean, and everyone smiling. Great drink specials and selection to pick from. Yes quite a gem. Traveled from Vancouver to calgary. Our daughter works there now and we were happy to see where she works. Fun energy, from staff to customers all were friendly . Some games are available if you gained a table. The options of food varied and good choices, loved that you could get popcorn and jelloshots. I had gingerbeef which was real good nice size and my husband had a corn dogs which is exactly what he hoped for. There was a live game at the door "ring and hook" not sure of the name but sure added to the fun, and a miniature one for the table no one had a problem stopping by our table and interacting. High five to this place. FUN AND ENERGETIC.

Always a fun vibe but something shifty about it. Every time I’ve gone in I feel weirdly pressured to drink and drink and drink, and it seems like that’s kind of what this place specializes in- getting people extremely drunk extremely fast. I love the lights and decor in this bar, the music is always good, the crowd seems fun, just maybe not what I was looking for as someone who is no longer 18-25 haha. The staff were lovely but overwhelmed and very busy and it was very loud inside. Overall, fine.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I lost my wedding ring here by accident and Roy and his team were incredible. They were in touch with their cleaners and somehow found my precious jewellery. Roy was so kind and thoughtful and I am truly so grateful that there are still great humans left in this world. Really impressed with the professionalism of this team!

We had a great time here relatively early on a Friday night. I’ve heard this and that about the spot when it’s late and packed but I can’t speak to that. We simply wanted a couple drinks and some simple food at the start of the evening and the place looked cool from the street. It’s a bar, with bar food and drinks. If you want it to be anything more than that, you’re probably in the wrong place. The wings by the way were better than expected! For a casual early evening, it’s a good choice.
Jon C — Google review
Super off vibe, felt extremely uncomfortable and honestly violent. I think this place should be shut down… A lot of gang and illegal activity goes on here, police are always having to monitor the area and there are consistent fights. Bartenders are drunk and physically aggressive. Nobody that works there seems happy. Everyone I know has a bad story about this bar, both male and female. Not sure why there are so many good reviews… maybe they delete the bad ones? My best advice is to stay far away from this place. I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but in this case I’m pro boycott of any bar that doesn’t promote the safety and wellbeing of Calgarians.

The whole service here is a 10/10 There was no wait, despite the volume of people at the place. The attendant was very polite and efficient, asked our shoe sizes, and gave us. Directed us to the aisle where we would be playing. The arena was super neat, the game was fun, we were given water and asked if we needed any more stuff. The atmosphere was super chill, great music, and great service. I highly recommend.

The bowling was a great place. Our group enjoyed the time, but we're the only people there. It was empty and a little depressing. The food was OK but not great. I just don't like that place and the atmosphere is cold and unfriendly.

Bowling part is nice, but I haven’t enjoy lunch at the patio. Rotisserie chicken was cooked almost ideally - breast was NOT dry at all. However spices used for it were odd, don’t match the chicken flavor. Also expected crispy skin - but it wasn’t. Was bit dissatisfied and the only thing made it better was that kinda gravy sauce served with the dish. In my opinion if spices were different - this meal would be amazing. BTW fries was over salty (and not only mine, like 4 other people from our company said the same). And buns were extremely dry - was not able to bite or pull apart without crunches flying around everyone’s meals - not good at all. Dragon fruit soda is pretty good though. There were 9 people having lunch together and first our server was attentive and came few times to ask how the food was. But after we ALL finished (which she confirmed we did) and asked for To-go boxes for pizza she has not asked us about bill, not even after she brought us to-go containers … and we had to wait for her to pass by again to have a chance to call her. Thad was wired 10-15 mins and we made sone jokes about it. So pretty average experience, I would not go again unless it’s lunch with colleagues on company bill.

So many yummy options! Came here on a Friday in March with four of my friends. We split a bunch of food which was SO good. Not all of it is even pictured here. It was delicious, drinks were great and then we went bowling afterwards downstairs. There was no wait, calm quiet atmosphere as well. The music in the bowling alley was BUMPIN

On Friday October 10th my friends and I went to nationals for a girls night and whilst we were there we got shots which are exactly $9, when I went to the bowling area to buy another shot a female bartender put and automatic tip in for herself not only for me but also to my friend, when she handed me the card machine there was no tip option and the total was 10.98. For my friend she charged her an additional 3 dollar tip. We spoke to the manager and he was really kind and even offered us a free shot, just disappointed to not see any repercussions towards the bartender but besides that nationals is a pretty nice place with usually friendly and nice bartenders.
Rachel P — Google review
This was my first time visiting National, and I have to say—it’s a really impressive spot. The place is spacious, with multiple levels and a variety of areas to explore. We spent most of our time on the rooftop, which had a great vibe. The DJ was spinning good music, and before we knew it, the whole rooftop turned into a dance floor. It was actually a really fun night. Now, the reason I’m giving only three stars: I spent $35 on two drinks, and I’m convinced there wasn’t a single drop of alcohol in either. The bartender somehow “forgot” the main ingredient—twice. So essentially, I paid for two cups of flavored ice water. Not even a buzz, not even a hint. That part completely killed the experience for me.

We came in on Thursday as part of the company function and we had the best experience from Claudia! The food was great! but Claudia’s energy, hospitality, and her overall personality stood out the most! She was so welcoming and kind, it made our entire experience so much better! We will definitely be back to meet her again!

"The Ship & Anchor" is a laid-back pub in Calgary that offers casual bar food, live music, and sports on TV. It's a favorite spot for the city's rock-and-roll crowd, featuring live soccer, punk rock bingo, and occasional DJ sets. The pub boasts an extensive selection of local and imported beers on tap and serves classic pub dishes like nachos and chicken wings.
Was quite good. Establishment Sky Rocket was my favorite. It was recommended by the person manning the pub. The fries were super fresh and the beers were great.

Back in my day, living and working in Calgary this would be my go to place. Such a fun patio and great beer and food. What I liked about it the best was the outdoor seating during the summer where you would share a table with strangers and strike up a conversation that was the highlight for me. 👍😎
Yodaman S — Google review
Dive/Pub with according food options. Poutine was not good - cheese was not melted, fries too salty. Chicken tenders too dry. Came here to watch hockey game, but disappointed how small the TVs were… also hidden in corners - impossible to watch sitting at the bar

Great spot to grab drinks or stop by while bar hopping on the weekend. They offer a wide selection of drinks, including plenty from local breweries. The atmosphere is lively, with a young and energetic crowd that makes the place feel vibrant and social. It’s also a great place to meet new people, and the live bands on the weekend keep the energy high. Perfect for a fun night out!

Food was delicious, service was excellent and the interior was really cool looking. If you're looking for good pub style food, this is it! They also have a good drink menu. Our group ordered Nachos, Burgers, Fish&Chips, pizza and more. They were all very good!

We went bc a friend's recommendation and it was worth it. We had some beers and tried the poutine, which was delicious, crunchy chips and super tasty. There is gluten free beer.
Leonor B — Google review
First of all, happy hour is long, cheap and awesome! Second of all, lots of their menu items are gluten free and dairy free. Plus their menu is clearly marked. Special mention…the fish and chips, the calamari and the tuna pole bowl were top notch. Highly recommend. Worth knowing…..smoking happens within distance of the patio. Not great if you want to avoid smoke smell. Also worth knowing that the 17th Ave strip has lots of noise pollution from vehicles who love to rev up their engines to be cool. It’s really annoying and wrecks the atmosphere of the many great patios on the strip.

My favourite bar in Calgary- a welcoming and casual atmosphere, with great food and drink, staff that clearly love their job, and a clientele that love this place too. The Ship and Anchor is a Calgary legend, especially if you love punk rock, divey bars that are clean, and a solid community presence. I love to visit for Punk Rock Bingo night, but also just to enjoy the patio when the weather is nice. It’s always my first thought of where to go when we’re going out.

The momo chicken teriyaki and prime ribs we chose were very nice, the meat was fresh and hot. California roll and mango sushi were my favorites. I also really liked the shrimp tempura and the melon alcoholic cocktail and mojito we drank. I definitely recommend it.Thanks

YOU MUST DINE HERE! I’ve been coming here for years, this place has never disappointed. Oysters are always fresh, and everything i’ve tried from their menu has always been delicious. Very friendly staff, active kitchen, and dim lighting. Whole restaurant and bathroom are pristine clean. If you come in on your own, go for the high chairs overlooking the chefs at work in the kitchen!

Ke Charcoal has an incredible atmosphere that instantly sets the mood for a great night out. The service is top-notch too, attentive without being pushy, which really makes the whole experience shine. The menu is priced very reasonably for what you get. Some dishes wowed more than others. The prime rib was a standout… super juicy and tender, absolutely worth recommending. The oysters were on the smaller side, yet fresh and satisfying. The beef tataki came with dried sliced garlic, which added a nice punch, although crispy onions would have been a more enjoyable texture for my personal preference. A couple dishes missed the mark. The lobster tail ended up overcooked, and the momo was pretty ordinary. One surprise was the kawa being fried instead of BBQ’d. Even with a few hits and misses on the food, the overall experience is genuinely memorable. The ambiance and service alone make Ke Charcoal well worth a visit, and there are definitely some items on the menu that deliver big. I’d totally recommend checking it out for the exciting dining vibe and a fun night out.

My favourite restaurant to visit whenever I’m in Calgary, the staff are super nice and food always comes quickly. The lobster bisque udon is my all time favourite and worth a visit alone - super creamy and comforting without being heavy. Plus the skewers are a good way to try new things and my favourite is the pork neck! Definitely check out their weekly specials to get the best worth of your money. Can’t speak for their sushi menu, but we always get the oysters as well and they’re never fishy tasting and always seem super fresh!

Perched on the 27th floor of The Dorian Hotel, The Wilde on 27 offers an unforgettable dining experience complemented by breathtaking city views. Drawing inspiration from Oscar Wilde and his iconic work, "The Picture of Dorian Gray," this restaurant boasts a lavish interior adorned with rich colors and textures. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by plush pink velvet seating and striking emerald green woodwork, all enhanced by dynamic electronic art displays that create a captivating atmosphere.
A very impressive restaurant! We booked the day of for a group of 10 celebrating the night before a wedding and were pleasantly surprised to get in. They were able to put us on the outdoor (heated) patio with stunning city views during sunset. We appreciated the privacy and they even brought nice blankets when some of us felt cold. We ordered several cocktails including 4 Wilder Porn Star Martinis which included Moet Champagne and a bump of Caviar. It was fun to drink and worth the cost. Our server then brought a complimentary amuse-bouche of hasselback potato and a fiddlehead. To follow, we ordered Venison Tartare and Octopus appetizers and the entire table was pleased. For mains our group focused on the Bison, Beef and Tortellini. Personally I was torn between the Risotto and Tortellini and after trying a bite of my friend’s Risotto, I was so glad with my choice! This was one of the most delicious pasta dishes I’ve ever had and certainly the most uniquely plated Tortellini I’ve ever seen. I truly cannot recommend this dish enough. Service was impeccable and we were able to bring in a bottle of Caymus for a reasonable $35 corking fee. Overall I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant! Thank you for a memorable experience.

A Birthday to Remember at The Wilde on 27 I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at The Wilde on 27, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance and stunning interior design set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Elegant, cozy, and elevated, every detail in the space is beautifully curated. Chef Aron personally serving our appetizers was such a special and unexpected treat! His presence added a warm and personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. And Denisse, our server, was simply out of this world—attentive, kind, and truly one of a kind. She made sure we felt completely cared for the entire evening. The food? Spectacular. Every dish was a masterpiece, both in presentation and flavor. It was a culinary journey worth every bite. A heartfelt thank-you to the entire team. The warmth, hospitality, and thoughtful service from everyone made me feel so celebrated. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark another trip around the sun. Highly, highly recommend. I’ll be back soon—this time not just for a special occasion, but because it’s that good.

Absolutely exceptional dining experience at The Wilde on 27. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. The upscale ambiance, combined with stunning views of the city, set the perfect tone for the evening. We ordered the halibut and beef mains — both dishes were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The flavors were refined and well-balanced, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. To finish, we shared the four petit desserts, which were just the right touch of indulgence — creative, delicious, and artfully plated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a high-end dining experience in Calgary. Will definitely be back!

My spouse and I came here for our anniversary and were so impressed. Even though we arrived early and the restaurant was busy, they seated us right away. We had hoped to sit on the patio, but it was under renovation, slightly disappointing, though the beautiful interior and skyline view more than made up for it. Service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and never rushed. The food was incredible, beautifully presented and full of flavour and the wine paired perfectly. The only thing we didn’t love were the cocktails, but that’s just personal taste. Overall, an elegant, memorable dining experience perfect for special occasions.

W O W! I cannot believe I got away with not checking this place out for as long as I did! Truly a hidden gem of Calgary… or maybe not so hidden given all of their awards. We checked out the Wilde during their lunch from 11-2 and were blown away by the experience. Everything from the ambiance to the service and food and drinks was spectacular. Lin was our server and she is amazing, was perfectly attentive without being overbearing. The food came out looking and tasting amazing - we had the apple and beet salad to start along with the chicken wings. Then we had the steak frites and burger as our mains and we couldn’t tell you a favourite as they were all that good. It is for sure an elevated experience and I found the prices matched the level of service and quality. If you are looking for a special spot to celebrate or just somewhere new to check out, I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking this place out.

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. First of all, the atmosphere was fantastic – very stylish yet cozy at the same time. Secondly, I loved my soup; it was delicate, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I also treated myself to their house-made tiramisu, which was wonderfully balanced – not overly sweet, with a subtle hint of tartness that made it truly delicious. Lastly, the service was excellent – warm, welcoming, and attentive. If I get the chance to come back here, I won’t hesitate.

Rouge is a high-end restaurant housed in an 1890s building, offering refined farm-to-fork meals and an extensive wine selection. The historic Cross House provides a charming setting filled with modern art, where patrons can enjoy dishes made with local ingredients, including those from the restaurant's own garden. Standout menu items include Poached Fogo Island Cod and Alberta Lamb Cassoulet, which can be paired with exceptional wines.
After years of intending to come to Rouge, we finally decided to act for a special event. We both chose to order the tasting menu ($120 each) but did not add on the $75 wine pairing (each). Apparently the wine pairing is about 3/4 of a bottle so we passed since I had driven. This is a satisfying 6 course meal. We had expected tiny decorative serving and I had joked we could stop at Macdonalds on the way home, but we were both full at the end of the night. Each course comes out with enough time to fully enjoy the flavors, which led to a very enjoyable and relaxed dinner. I had fully intended to review the dinner, but so enjoyed the experience I totally forgot to take pictures before the course was consumed. I did manage to get a photo of two of the courses. One course which I did not photograph was a garlic risotto. Granted that I'm not a risotto expert, but this one I was served at Rouge was without question the best I've ever had. I'm still drooling.... It was a hot day at 36, but we were seated in the tent beside the building. Most sides were open which gave a very nice view of their gardens as well as a very refreshing breeze. It was very expensive for two of us (pushing $400 with tax and tip), so I would not visit frequently, but imo it is worthwhile to visit occasionally for special occasions.

We had the chef's tasting menu and the wine pairings. The staff was really friendly, and always made sure our drinks were filled. The wine was fantastic, and well paired with the food. The food, was decent but I wasn't really wowed by any dish. I probably wouldn't recommend it, because the value wasn't there for me. The overall experience was really good! Thank you so much 😊

Wowwwww this was such an amazing meal! Went for the chefs menu for a special night out and it was awesome. My bf isn't big on the foodie stuff so he wasn't into the uniqueness quite as much as I was but one dish he just didn't want to eat - I told them he wasn't fond of smoked salmon, and he was so embarrassed - i tried to ensure him that it's ok to say you don't like something (nobody likes to complain, but when you're paying this much you want to enjoy it!), and so they whipped up something else within 10 minutes and after that he perked up completely for the rest of the meal. They had such great attitudes and didn't make us feel awkward for turning away a dish, I even requested 2 different desserts and they made it happen. I was thrilled! I have to say - 6 courses doesn't include the palette cleansers. I was absolutely stuffed and I regret not wearing stretchy pants or loose fitting dress. My waistline changed from my rib cage to my hips. The server was so awesome all the servers and hostess were friendly and helpful, my server even took care of a spider that found its way onto the table without even flinching. I guess black widows haven't had fatal bites on record since the 80's, what do ya know. The place is stunning the food is divine. I will definitely return. They also allow single diners to order the chef menu which isn't always the case. Totally recommend it if you love fine dining!

Treated ourselves for a special occasion and Rouge did not disappoint with warm, friendly, knowledgeable service. We chose the tasting menu which was superb, standouts were the salmon and beef tenderloin. Wine list was interesting with good value wines by the glass and a great selection by the bottle. Would highly recommend for a special treat, not cheap but still good value for what you get to enjoy.

I really enjoyed this experience! Great service, amazing food, totally haunted if you are into that. Love it. I tried the tatare and enjoyed the courser chop compared to usual tatare dishes I've tried. The sirloin was a tender texture for the rare cook I requeste, many places would not have that characteristic for that type of cook and I appreciated that. The rabbit was also delicious. Brussel sprouts were not it, maybe I usually eat them sweetened or something but they felt plain to me. Everything else was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. I loved the potatoes especially, the flavors were fantastic. Also tried side of the cornbread and that was really nice. The beets were interesting. The chocolate cheesecake was fun and yummy too. This was a special experience and also there is definitely a ghost upstairs. The artwork throughout is beautiful. The giant light bulb was super cute, love that. The service was phenomenal and the food was worth the price absolutely. Definitely a more upscale dining experience in a unique setting. We had a great time.

Our server, Miriam, was lovely and patient as we ask about the dishes. Surprisingly, we adored the pork tenderloin more than the beef. The way they made potatoes were so interesting. It was a delightful experience. It’s a pricey restaurant, and I’m rating it 4 since I wasn’t “wowed” by the beef nor the vegan lasagna. However, looking forward to come back here to try their tasting menu.

As soon as we stepped into the space, we felt the weight lift off of our shoulders and we knew we were in for a great evening. The hostess was awesome (sorry I forgot your name). We could not have asked for more going out for a celebratory dinner (life achievement). This has been our best finer dining experience here in Calgary as they exceeded our expectations. Our server, Miriam, went above and beyond. She was warm, welcoming, informative and hilarious. Kudos to Chef Dean and the rest of the team. The food was fantastic (I didn't want to destroy it, the presentation was on point). It was such a unique experience dining here. We are looking forward to celebrating at Rouge for the years to come. Absolutely adore this place! I took my husband here for his birthday a few months ago, and it was such a wonderful experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were simply amazing! I had the beef tenderloin, and I seriously have been thinking about it in my dreams. It is such a beautiful, historical building, making the ambience just impeccable. Reserved a table for lunch and had a remarkable time. The restaurant was courteous and prompt with their staff being very attentive and kind. Leading into wonderful food with a gorgeous view both in and around the wonderfully maintained historically significant building to the area. We chose to be seated inside and the decor and atmosphere was both calm and quiet. Now the food itself was also spectacular with rich flavours without any overbearing saltiness or any greasiness at all. The whole experience was great and the course was actually quite filling on top of it all! This goes for all 4-5 dishes between my wife and I. Took a nice walk to digest the food and enjoy the scenery with a quick trip through the native gardens leading to Annie’s cafe which in itself was a great lead up to a pleasant walk. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to start their morning off in Fish creek with pleasant food and mood. Will be a staple for any future visits to Calgary

We just celebrated our Wedding at Bow Valley Ranche last weekend, and it was everything we dreamed of — a beautiful brunch Wedding on a perfect day! From the very first email, the service was exceptional. Rosa, the Event Coordinator, was incredibly professional, responsive, and supportive throughout the entire planning process. She made everything so smooth leading up to the big day. On the day of the Wedding, the staff went above and beyond. Even with another event happening in one of the other private rooms, the quality of service and food remained outstanding — a true testament to how well this venue is run. Bow Valley Ranche is made to host unforgettable events! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food was. The beetroot salad and eggs benny were major crowd-pleasers, and they were happy to accommodate our kids with the kids' menu, no fuss at all. A special thank-you to Jensen, who made sure this Bride felt completely cared for all day long. His attentiveness and kindness truly made a difference. Not many young people work that hard! We couldn’t recommend BVR more highly. It was a magical day that we’ll cherish forever. Thank you for helping create such unforgettable memories!

The ranch is a lovely experience, with a lunch special that isn't too pricey. The daily soup (carrot) was delicious, best I've ever had. I brought my son here for his special day! And it's also our first time here. The guy which i forgot to ask his name was very friendly, accommodating and made sure we are doing good. I ordered the mocha latte with almond milk and it was perfect. Then I ordered a French toast, smoked salmon and creme Brule. They are all superb! The surrounding is quite cozy, very lovely painting and designs, peaceful as not much people when we dine in . They also had an outdoor place to sit if you want to eat outside but I prefer indoor as I was prone to mosquito. Lol. The garden was amazingly beautiful, nearby is the fish creek park where you can go for a walk and a bike. Definitely will be back! Highly recommended place for a very special occasion.

Alloy is a sophisticated dining spot that offers a diverse range of globally inspired dishes, along with an extensive wine list. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, featuring Japanese-inspired decor elements such as cherry blossom trees and bamboo woodwork. The menu showcases a fusion of Mediterranean, Latin, and Asian flavors, with options like vegetable-based soups, seafood light bites, and enticing main courses such as arctic char with smoked paprika roasted potatoes.
Alloy is an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the service is top-notch, and the wine menu is impressive with something for every palate. I highly recommend going with a group or someone who likes to share, as the best way to enjoy Alloy is by ordering a variety of dishes and sampling them all. The starters were standouts — the beef tartar was perfectly seasoned, the pork belly was rich and tender, and the Thai lobster salad was refreshing with just the right balance of spice and citrus. For the main course, the duck breast was a highlight: beautifully cooked, flavorful, and elegantly plated. We ended the night with the sticky toffee pudding, which was indulgent and the perfect sweet note to close out the evening. What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service throughout — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Alloy is the kind of restaurant you keep coming back to, and I can’t wait for my next visit. Highly recommended!

The hummus is smooth and flavorful, perfectly paired with spices and fresh mint; the lamb chops are beautifully seared on the outside and tender inside; the lobster is sweet and succulent; the grilled fish is well-balanced with its tangy topping; the tempura shrimp is crisp without being greasy; and the gnocchi with creamy mushroom sauce is rich and comforting. Every appetizer and side dish shows attention to detail. The service is professional, friendly, and perfectly paced, making the whole dining experience delightful. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates high-quality cuisine!

Went for an Event last night. We were given three choices for each course. Representing their fall menu. The Gnochi was amazing. My friend had the Pumpkin soup which he said was “delightful” The mains were a choice of three. Our table stuck to the salmon or braised short ribs I found the rubs to be beautifully done. The veggies again were perfect. The portions were over the top. My friends who had the salmon all enjoyed it. Not a thing left on anyone’s plates When the desserts came out a number of guests had gone home. So we had all three at the table. Salted caramel puffs were lovey. The coffee cake was very nice. Just the right combination of flavours. The Chocolate Avocado ball was horrible. Chocolate was bitter and the avocado pate in the centre. Well that was a taste I never want to repeat So if you see any of these on the menu. Go for it. But stay away from the aforementioned chocolate avocado disaster

I can not RAVE enough, absolutely amazing food. They bring you hummus and pita to start, I had the marinaded olives, truffle gnocchi, short rib for my main and sticky toffee dessert. I would get it again!! Staff was wonderful and I added the gnocchi as their suggestion. 11/10 I will be back!! I ate inside but the outdoor venue was epic with a water feature ❤️

We have enjoyed superb dining experiences in Alloy since 2008, it is amazing that after so many years Alloy provided us the best dining experience in our recent visit to Calgary: terrific food, wonderful service and a cozy ambiance. Our starters (Thai lobster salad, arancini) and our main dishes (beef short rib and lamb chops) were outstanding, same as our dessert choices. David and Jorge made us feel at home with their friendly service and knowledgeable recommendations.

The service was outstanding. The food was great, but the desert was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere was great, but the design of the couch circular seats were a bit inconvenient, as you had to scoot out of the seats everytime you had to leave. The tomato soup was outstanding and was my favourite part of the meal. I will most likely be back.

Came here to celebrate an anniversary. Food was good, the waiters were excellent. The only negative is how loud the restaurant is, even at half capacity.

First time yesterday and everything we ordered was perfect. I really enjoyed the Pumpkin Soup, Duck Dumplings, Oysters and Beet Salad. The Arctic Char and Chicken Supreme were tasty. Quality not Quantity is key and it was Quality. I also liked that we recieved complimentary Hummus/Bread to stave off the initial hunger so we could really enjoy the flavors.

Brewpub
Trolley 5 Brewpub is an industrial-style space located in the Beltline area of Calgary, named after the historic No. 5 Trolley Line. The brewpub offers a wide range of house-brewed beers and a diverse menu featuring pizzas, pastas, burgers, and recently added barbecue favorites that are smoked in-house for up to 14 hours.
My husband and I got married at Trolley 5 this summer and it was nothing short of amazing. From our first meeting with the event coordinator, Ashley, we knew we picked the right venue and that planning would be a breeze. Ashley met with us several times to go through the details of the wedding and always had solutions and prompt responses to our requests. Trolley 5 did an excellent job at allowing us to customize our day so that we got everything we wanted. The ceremony was on the second floor atrium which had plenty of space for our 100 guests. There are floor to ceiling windows allowing plenty of natural light into the venue and it really created a calming ambience for our special moment. We chose to have our cocktail hour in the taproom in the basement which was a super fun space for us to connect with our guests after the ceremony. For the reception we headed back upstairs to the atrium after the room was flipped. Instead of a plated or buffet dinner we opted to order a bunch of appetizers and pizzas for our guests. Every single person who commented on the food said it was amazing. Throughout the night, the Trolley 5 staff were impressively on top of things. No one was left waiting too long for drinks or more food. They were all super friendly too and never made us feel like we were asking for too much. Needless to say, we had an absolute blast and ever since have been wondering how we can do it all over again :). Thank you so so so much to Ashley and to Dustin, you guys crushed it and we hope to keep in touch with you throughout the years to come!

Fun place to watch the hockey playoffs! Good food & friendly staff -their beer was good but not cold and the McDavid cocktail was not good- too much flavours going on. Fix the warm beer problem ( maybe frosted glasses would help ) and I would then give 5 stars. Still a great patio

Went for lunch and had a good meal. The breakfast brisket, chicken Caesar salad, and smashed avocado toast. The brisket was a standout, and the salad was solid. The smashed avocado toast was too sour with a lot of lime juice. Service was friendly and a nice street patio.

I was at Trolley 5 a few days ago and had the brisket. As someone with cerebral palsy that affects my right hand, I’m unable to use a knife and fork—so I usually need help with meals like this. But I’m 99.9% sure the brisket was made with someone like me in mind. I could cut it easily with just a fork. And oh my gosh, it was amazing! The flavour was absolutely insane, the tenderness was a dream, and the variety of sauces to go with it? All 20/10. The plate didn’t last 15 minutes—once I started, I couldn’t stop. It meant so much to not only have a meal I could eat completely on my own, but also for it to be so damn good. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you <3

Had always wanted to try this place after driving by it a number of times, and now we live in the area we finally had the chance to try it out. We just wanted a place to eat and to sit out on a nice patio with the nice weather we are finally having. We expected to have just normal/average pub grub but were both so pleasantly surprised that the food is actually awesome - much better than what we were expecting! We have eaten in a lot of places all over and really love our food, so when we are impressed it definitely means we will be returning again. Hubby had the smoke house burger and said the brisket was smoked perfectly and the burger just tasted amazing and loved the fries as well. I had the "hangover special" and it was delicious and also loved the fries. All in all - we were super impressed, thank you, we will be back!!

Best vibes for winding down after Stampede! The service was great, the food was delicious with generous portions, and the variety of craft beers was all on point. Every sip and bite hit the spot!

I had a great experience coming to Trolley 5. The servers were very friendly, and when we had a slight mixup with our order one of the managers JP was very quick to clear things up for my group. It was also very nice that he also made a huge effort to check in with us periodically to ensure we we're having a good time. Great food, great drinks, and a very attentive staff Huge recommend.

We had our wedding on the Main floor of Trolley a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. We were initially bummed that the atrium was not available for our wedding but they assured us we could do it on the main floor and it would be just as great and they did not disappoint! Food was delicious, atmosphere was fun and it turned out having the patio was a perfect addition to a summer wedding for people to cool down and have a quieter place to mingle. Ashley(and staff) had clear communication leading up to our event and wait staff made sure no one had an empty drink! I would definitely recommend trolley for any big event or even just a night on the town.

This was our first time here and it was a lot of fun. The food was better than I expected as well. I thought the staff was doing great with all of the birthday parties and chaos. It is easy to have sensory overload at this place, even when in the dining area but it is also a fun atmosphere.

Went with friends on a Friday evening and had fun. It was a generally a good experience. But it didn’t help that at some point, our server went MIA. I had the spicy chicken burger and it was just okay, not spicy.

The Rec Room is one of my favourite places to go when looking for an activity for adults. We came on a Monday which was nice and quiet, didn't have to wait for games and the servers were ready to help us. They added some new games upstairs since the last time we came and they were a blast. My spouse quite enjoyed the putting green, it malfunctioned a bit but someone was there right after we finished to fix it.

Had lots of fun. Went to a comedy show (the comedians were not that funny) and played some games. The VR arcade games were awesome. You can also show off in front of your spouse with the throwing accuracy games, or show her you can't hit anything at 5 feet. Either way its fun. Really nice atmosphere in the bar area. I like that you can order alcohol as you play games. Very unique place. I will go again.

Good food for what it was. Nachos were ok - calamari was such a tiny serving barely tried it with our group. Wife had the steak and shrimp and enjoyed it. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. Really good. Vudeo Games, pool and toy games obviously a great time for kids to enjoy and parents to relax a bit. Bought the kids cards and they went at it. Service and management was on top of everything. Good service and quick. Great spot for families as a bit of everything for everyone.

Came in on a Monday was pleasantly surprised with the amazing staff! It has been a long time since I have been to any establishment that all the staff were top notch. From the guy at the entrance, our server AND the manager just checking in. Honestly 5 star all around for the staff on an other note it is a pretty pricey place for a night of chicken wings and a few games

Nestled on the upper level of 1410 World Bier Haus, Chakalaka Bar boasts a stunning patio adorned with lush greenery and breathtaking views of Calgary's Bow River. This year-round hotspot offers an array of hot stone cooking grills, serving up everything from steak to alligator and fresh fish to delectable ribs right at your table. The friendly staff ensures a memorable dining experience while cozy fire pits create the perfect ambiance for outdoor gatherings.
I was so excited for this to open after reading about it everywhere. Sometimes places don't live up to the hype... This is not one of those places!! The concept is perfect - how can you go wrong with all skewers and grilled meats /seafood / deliciousness? Very unique and creative cocktails, huge selection of skewers, and top notch service. I noticed they all worked together as a team and it was such a pleasure dining here. I can't wait to come back!

Here’s my honest review about my experience. We got invited to check out the new menu, before it reopens in the next couple of days. You get the vibe and ambiance, but honestly that’s just about it. We had a long wait before we got our drinks served. We got our starters before the drinks arrived, which was just inconvenient. For starters, we had wings and plantain chips and they were so underwhelming. The wings came out cold. For the main dish, we had the Beef Curry served with rice and chapati. This was honestly a pitiful dish. The curry was dry and the basmati rice was overcooked. I’m guessing the veggies in the sauce were the frozen type, they looked pale and mushy. I had to request for extra sauce to try and get myself to finish my meal. 3 different people came to verify if I requested for sauce, before I got my sauce, 15mins later. For the price of this dish, I expected more, way more. Service was poor. The servers looked overwhelmed. We couldn’t find ours when it was time to pay and we just sat there very stressed out! Overall, I know I won’t be spending my money here in the near future.

Great experiential dining spot on 17th Avenue. My husband and I have visited this establishment twice now and each time was a lot of fun! The hot lava stone cooking is pretty awesome. First time visiting was their "Exotic Night" special so, frog legs, alligator, ostrich, and kangaroo (although they were out of ostrich, but just gave more portions of the other three meats which was fine). Second visit was "Date Night" with the steak and lobster on special. Everything was really tasty. We also ordered some of their skewers, all of which were very good as well. On date night, we ordered the Ferris Wheel off the dessert menu. It's normally $30, but was on special for 1/2 price. It was mediocre. Definitely not worth $30, barely worth $15 in my opinion, but it does look like a ferris wheel and they bring it out with a fun sparkler, so it gets points for novelty effect. Cocktails are pretty good too and I love that they have a couple of mocktails on their drink menu. Staff is super friendly and things within the restaurant are run fairly efficiently.

Came here on a Friday night and it was a full house. I can understand that this a new restaurant and they are quite busy but drink and food times were ridiculous. Drinks took 20 minutes to come out and food took over 90 minutes to arrive after ordering. The flavours for everything was pretty good but most of the skewers were over cooked. Some even being inedible. Drinks are a little on the pricey side and so was the dessert wheel. Our server was very busy but still tried to check on us often and apologize for the food taking very long.

Such a great experience! We went on a Tuesday. The overall vibe was super chill! The restaurant itself was really nice inside. I feel like you could go casual or dress it up a notch. Great for all kinds of nights. Dinner with a friend, girls night, some sort of special dinner, date night even a work event. The server was super chill but also very knowledgeable about the menu he answered all of our questions and even gave us a back story on the chef. Food was great. Veggies on plate were fresh, meat was hot, presentation .. excellent, came out quickly, not too quickly and tasted great. The menu has a lot of exotic stuff (exotic to me anyway) frog legs, kangaroo, alligator but also things like chicken and shrimp. I definitely recommend and will be back! Oh and they had stuff you could cook yourself at the table .. wasn't really our vibe but kind of fun! In the pic spicy kangaroo taco (not that spicy if you like spicy, very spicy if spicy isn't your jam, a little heat if you kind of like spicy), coco Bongo (drink), virgin paloma (background drink one of the pics), ceviche (app .. salsa, chips)

My review of Chakalaka gotta be straight up though. I really wanted to like this place. I was feeling the hype to my friends. It certainly ranks high on aesthetic! They have a good idea going... I just feel it needs some work. 😬 Drinks tasted amazing and have stunning presentation. Now the CONS: service was very meh. At one point we waited atleast over 20 minutes for two morsels of tofu on a stick. I think also be mindful of what you bring out. Like if i order a starter salad then a bunch of main events I don't expect a mediocre salad to come out last. And if I order skewers I dont expect them to come out 1 by 1 only AFTER I've eaten my first tiny morsel of meat on a stick. Presentation of food was not flattering or really... there? 😕 Theres not much you can do with how you're pushing them out, but how about if one orders a bunch of skewers, bring em out together! You wouldn't need a zhuzh up! Flavours were decent, but not enough to save from the almost abysmal service. (The gyoza was the only thing special.) Spent $80 and my friend I were so hungry after, I went to another restaurant on 17th and ordered food on my way home. My night was small morsels and weak service. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I think this place is capable of greatness and I'm willing to try again IF they make some adjustments, but in th meantime I'm going to take a hard pass. 😬 I hope they do because I really liked the article on the owners vision amd effort for this place! They were really nice to take a photo of us and reply to my message searching for said photo. So thank you. I'm sure you all are very nice, but my experience was not good.

Me and my partner ate here Saturday, it was delicious. The tandoori shrimp Skewers were my favourite! I wish I had more! The salmon was a close second for me! I also thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails we had, and am hoping to return to try more! I had the Bernie fashioned, Tokyo drift, and my partner had a feature daiquiri. We also had a flight of the draught cocktails of which the feature was my favourite. We got so carried away on the main floor patio that we never made it up to the rooftop, so will hopefully return to experience the menu up there! My only complaint was I wish there were more salmon options- maybe something for grill. I don’t eat meat and although I do eat seafood I don’t partake in lobster. So while my partner was grilling his steak and lobster I didn’t have much. Of course that’s more of a me thing and not a thing the restaurant needs to adjust as I could just order more shrimp, but didn’t think it would hurt to suggest! The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly and the experience as a whole was delightful! 10/10 will return.

We went tonight right after opening. The staff where all amazing and friendly. The management was actively involved and checked in on ever table. Great atmosphere, very fresh and inviting. With all the green it felt very garden party open air with a high end twist. All the Tapas where delicious. Very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. We tried almost everything on the menu. Disappointed they where out of the duck and lamb. Some highlights include the Pan Fried Gyoza, Gamberi Alla Busara, Lemon Pepper Shrimp, Sirloin Steak, and Chicken Tikka. They where all our favourite. The combinations of flavours was amazing. My sister who hates seafood ordered a second Lemon Pepper Shrimp, it was not rubbery or fishy tasting. It was just good food. The Gamberi Alla Busara had the best tomato sauce that I have ever had. You could dip almost anything in it and it would be amazing. For drinks I tried both mocktails, the Pomegranate Mojito and Ginger Grapefruit Spritz. The Mojito was nice and refreshing on the sweet side with out being sickly. The Spritz had a nice spice that was also refreshing. The glass had a, what I believe was, black pepper rim which worked very nicely. My sister tried the Kingston Mojito and Pretty in Pink. She really enjoyed them both. The desert was a huge let down. We had the Ferris Wheel. It was full of store bought treats and not what you would expect for the price. The presentation was fun but that did not make up for how lack luster the treats where. The Nanaimo bar tasted like Costco and some of the chocolate was tempered incorrectly leaving a granule taste. The cotton candy was old and the truffle ball was stale. Not worth $30. Would go back but would not get dessert. COVID rules where all followed and plastic barriers felt like part of the décor and not out of place.

These tasted to be cooked In the dirtiest oil & was burnt. Imagine the disappointment after waiting an hour for a breakfast sandwich h & dip. I will NEVER WASTE MY MONEY HERE AGAIN. Ever. Don’t waste your money. Not the server fault when there’s 3 people in there on a Saturday morning. No discount, no apologies. Nothing. Great drinks, fries were delicious! We sat out on the patio and we were served right away. We ordered some drinks and food. The drinks took a little bit to come. The fries were great and the pizza was pretty good, it needed a bit more cheese. The food also took a little while to come out. It was busy when we were there so it was understandable. Staff were friendly - they were doing their best to serve everyone and you could tell they we’re trying to cover a lot of tables at once. Overall we enjoyed our food and drinks. There wasn’t really anything too special or memorable that I would come back right away. But it’s good option for a bar with a roof top patio and street patio in Kensington.

Free house has a really good happy hour and their menu has many different things and lots of plates for sharing, great for a social atmosphere at a bar. Lots of good options for beer, cocktails, and even wine. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, I personally did not like the sauce on it at all but every other aspect of it was on point. Chicken was juicy and crispy. The fries were awesome, extremely salty - like burn your mouth salty - but I loved them. And there were tons of fries on the plate! And I always like a place that leaves water on the table. Good choice to go if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t great. The place is new, so I give some benefit of the doubt there. It took quite a long time to receive our food, or just to get refills of our beer.

Sat upstairs in the beautiful outdoor patio. Nice plants and spacious. Great views and people watching, the chairs were uncomfortable though. Nice servers, a little slow on service but loads of patience for hard workers who just need a few more people working those busy times. Management should address this so I can give 5 stars next time. Cocktails, beer and wine selections were great. Had the spicy Marie and the Caesar - both well made and unique. Had the Cubano, smashed beets with goat cheese and the braised lamb platter. Very impressed with this "pub" food. It was definitely elevated, thoughtful and delicious. (Not the gravy though - that was not good). Particularly impressed by the pork belly on the Cubano, the various fresh herbs and flavours on the lamb platter and the house pickles. Our server, Marie, was very helpful and had great suggestions. The overall reno is light, clean and airy but the upstairs outdoor bathroom could use some love. We'll be back and are looking forward to some live music. Thanks guys!

After reading the positive reviews I was really disappointed in the experience we got. When we arrived we asked to see a menu for the roof seating. The host or server at the front gave us one with only drinks, and when we indicated that she was adamant in telling us there was food on it. We turned the menu around and showed her and her response was “oh, that’s not good,” and left it at that with us awkwardly standing there. Didn’t make any effort to fix the problem or tell us about what they served upstairs. So we suggested we sit outside, where the service was super inconsistent - we had to flag down a staff member to order food and drinks after sitting, and it was challenging to get ahold of our waitress after that. Then she came over and asked if we wanted the bill before we had even gotten all the food on the table. Food was okay (reuben sandwich was great so we can recommend that), but not blow you away. Pictured is the ricotta and also the prosciutto and melon dish. Honestly wouldn’t recommend this place in favour of others with better service.

When to the rooftop for a birthday dinner. The view was lovely as well as the decor and the vibe. Our server was relatively new as she struggled to stay on top of all her tables, but she had a great personality. Our drink wait times were a little long, but she was apologetic. The oysters were delicious, but could have been cleaned a little better. The pizza was delicious and fresh with wonderful flavours! Thank you so much. Hope to be back soon.

I love the atmosphere here. Open air rooftop patio over the water - one of my favorite rooftop patios in the city. But yes, service is incredibly slow here. The Mexican beer they have on tap is great - one of my new favorites. They do gluten free pizza which is a win for my girlfriend.

My friend and I went to the rooftop patio for some drinks and appetizers. We were very excited, it was our first time coming here. The experience was awful.. the food was disappointing.. but the margarita was very good. Our server ignored us, the only time she came to our table was when we ordered our drinks. We have been done eating for at least 30 minutes and she still hasn’t came over.. the avocado ceviche was salsa with avocado on top not at all what the menu said. The nachos were very plain for the price. It’s the cute patio in a very nice location but sadly since the service was so terrible we will not be back.

we had such a wonderful experience at connie & john’s pizza rooftop! 🌟 i went with my best friend and my baby, and from the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond. the manager personally escorted us upstairs, helped with the stroller, and even set us up near a patio heater so the stroller would be in a comfortable spot. we started with oysters, caesar salad, and a bottle of sauv blanc, which were all excellent. for the main we shared the hawaiian style pizza and it was fantastic. our server was warm and attentive, even bringing hot water to warm a bottle, and the whole team made sure our night flowed smoothly. when the mains arrived, they refreshed our plates and cutlery and even arranged the dishes on the table for us. the rooftop views were stunning and it felt like the perfect place to enjoy dinner with family. everyone who came to our table was kind and thoughtful, which made dining out with a baby feel so easy and enjoyable. after dinner we were able to take a nice walk around the area which rounded out the evening perfectly. overall, 5 star service, delicious food, and such a welcoming atmosphere for families. we felt so well taken care of and will definitely be back!

A great outdoor patio! You get a great view of the Bow and the Reconciliation Bridge and other views of downtown Calgary. The food and drinks are good, but pricey. Go during happy hour (3-6pm and I think there is a later one too) to get a better deal. The food is Mexican. It is not a big menu, but sitting outside is wonderful. The service was good too.

With knowledgeable and upbeat instructors, spacious facilities, and a supportive community, it provides an ideal environment for individuals to explore their passion for dance. Additionally, the studio hosts live musicians throughout the term, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience.
Free House dance plus is the best dance studio I've ever found. I've danced for over thirty years in Calgary and this is the number 1 place for adult classes and children's programs for all ages. The teachers are knowledgeable and upbeat, the facility is spacious and clean and the schedule has variety. They even bring in live musicians throughout the term! The positive atmosphere, supportive community and reasonable fees make it easy for me and my family to dance as much as we want!

Absolutely love this place! I’ve been attending adult tap 101 for a month, and am having a blast. Kira is amazing and keeps us laughing while we’re learning- it’s a lot easier to learn a new skill when you’re relaxed and having fun. It’s a workout for the brain if you’re new, but that’s so good for you! If you’re on the fence about trying something new, jump in!

What a great dance school! As a guy starting dance lessons in my 50's, I was a bit concerned about what to expect. I'm very fortunate to have found Free House! The instructors are amazing and the community they've built is welcoming and inclusive. My tap class has become more than a weekly lesson, it's a chance to play, connect with new friends, sometimes struggle 🙃, and surprise myself at what my feet can do - huge shout out to the brilliant, fun, and supportive Kira for her instruction! I also want to mention the brilliant Kyrsten and her Musical Theatre class- a fantastically fun class that stretched my somewhat limited abilities (and tendons) If you're thinking that maybe it's time to try something new, or you're experienced and looking to continue your dance journey, I can't recommend Free House enough!

It was hard to find a class for our teenager just looking to start dance at a later age. Free House has been an amazing studio for her. Her instructor was so helpful and encouraging. They went to amazing lengths to safely keep up sessions during COVID. Excellent communication. I would (and did) drive across the city for this place. Highly recommend!

My kids started dance here in kindergarten, now in grade 4. They love this school and its dance instructors. From fantastic traditional dance programs to more modern ones the variety and talent is fantastic. Price is moderate, like most extracurricular its going up in price, and brings good value to cost. My kids take dance to compliment their martial arts skill. The fine motor control for dance compliments MMA very well or as we say "MMA is dance, you just get to hit the other person". I'm very happy with the school. Dance gives kids the quiet grace they will carry through the rest of their lives. And I wouldn't go anywhere else if you live in the NW.

Freehouse has always been a warm and safe place for my daughter to land (and dance of course) as she grows up. Thank you for being a place where she can find out who she is without the pressure and intensity that exists in some other dance schools!

I’ve been a long-time adult student at Free House Dance Plus but even so I always get to try something new at their thrice yearly pre-session sample classes. ‘Leap into Spring’ is their February sampler but I didn’t just leap, I leapt…and spun, flapped, salsa’d into Spring! But…it’s not just dance…today I was also able to indulge in some ‘be nice to your body’ therapy, Yamuna®️ Body Rolling & Gyrokinesis®️, a gift for all the hard work it tolerates each week. With my dance mom hat on, I can vouch that their kids classes rock too, always encouraging they coaxed my son from stage fright to "performing is so much fun" and he never looked back! And for the budding musician who prefers to feel rhythms with their hands there is also an awesome African drumming class. Forever grateful that I stumbled across this studio so many years ago, so much to offer for any walk of life (i.e. you don’t have to be a ‘dancer’ to enjoy something from the extensive kids, teens and adult programs)!!

Just had the best class ever!! Lots of signage up, spacing in the room was well marked and staggered start times for classes were so appreciated. I smiled the whole time and it felt amazing to move my body. Thanks for taking all the pre cautions to make participation possible.

Charbar is a sophisticated dining spot in Calgary, located in the historic Simmons Building alongside other culinary hotspots and a rooftop patio with stunning views of the Bow River. The restaurant's identity is inspired by its Argentine wood-fired grill, offering seafood and wood-fired steaks paired with craft cocktails created by their Bar Manager. Additionally, Charbar serves as a unique wedding venue, blending modern industrial chic with panoramic river views and culinary excellence within the beautifully renovated 100-year-old former mattress factory.
I’d give 10 stars if that’s an option. Celebrated my mom’s birthday here, didn’t expect too much but arrived finding out there’s a cute balloon attached to our seat. Every single one of the staff here was amazing, they greeted us with smile and wished happy birthday to my mom. Our server was super attentive, absolutely exceptional!! Food matched my expectations, I’ve heard great things about here, and they were worth the praises! Beef fat fries were sooo crispy and it’s very obvious to that they were actually made with beef fat. Ceviche was great, loved the puffed wild rice in there, they added some crunchy texture to it and leveled it up. And the porterhouse was just beyond description, so delicious and tender, pairs well with Argentina Malbec.

Charbar was amazing! The service was excellent. Our waitress was super attentive and somehow managed to top up my drink before I even noticed it was getting low. The food came out in a reasonable time, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned. It also came with a great selection of sauces that really elevated the meal. The restaurant itself has a modern and stylish vibe that made the whole experience even better. We had a great dinner and will definitely be coming back.

The lunch options are various. We tried the steak chimichurri; it was excellent. We will be back to try the other items in the next few days. Update: the other options were fine but not as good as the steak. The patio is always fun

We just checked in at our hotel across the street and after a trip of almost 21 hours we wanted to a quick meal before we went to bed. We ended up in the charbar. On the inside it was well decorated and a lot of seating space. We tried the burger and the chevice mix, both were very good. We had a really nice waiter.

The whole crew was terrific service. Hosting station to servers(Natasha) and kitchen staff. Took care of allergies, wonderful suggestions and knowledge of menu, including wines was great. Charred Napa Cabbage salad, Tableside Ceviche Mixto(Jessica made it thx), Beef Butcher Steak & New York Strip. Chimichurri sauce fantastic. We were watching many other tables and it seemed like full enjoyment from them too. Give this place a try. I think you'll come back again and again.

Trying Charbar after 6 years, we were pleased to taste the same delicious food, vibrant and great service. We stopped at Nash, but witnessed a poor welcome, saying sorry done with lunch menu (while minutes left, and not busy at all)…and while we had the plan for Charbar for later, just changed plans and showed up. They welcomed us, with a good table at a nice spot…

4.4 ⭐️ Great little spot tucked away in the old Simmons Factory in East Village, steps off the river path/ Bow River. This place did not disappoint. We visited them for a friends birthday and ordered Broccoli and Cauliflower dish which was amazing. The burger was spectacular (cheese curds on a burger!?!! 💯), fries- meh skip out on these next time. We also enjoyed the Beef Empanadas which are the best empanadas that we’ve experienced in Calgary, to date.

Loved relaxing on the patio for a moments time mid afternoon was so peaceful and relaxing. The lunch menu was still available so I went for the 6oz NY strip. I have to say I was kind of disheartened by it. But was so hungry ate it quite quickly.. and this was immediately as I received it and was cool/cold. I see all these beautiful char grilled photos of steaks. Med rare. And I order that and mine was like boiled or steamed tasting/texture is how id describe it. Even if it was grilled. Just looked a bit slimy. Not BBQ char grilled in any facet unfortunately. Service was nice, the girls were great. Enjoyed the happy hour drinks. Thank you for offering a Pinot Noir option. Truly appreciated. Fries were amazing! Calamari was beyond small for $20. And only personal preference not sure if many would agree. But there was so much aoli in the dish? I did switch out the salsa for another sauce choice. But didn't realize it would be on a thick bed of aoli. I personally dont like a ton of sauces. As i enjoy calamari. So it was a bit much for me. Maybe in a bottle and drizzled into the dish?? or knowing now id just ask for both on the side. Overall still nice just could have been a smidgen better with the steak since that's their main focus and reputation. Hopefully I'll get back there and get to enjoy the real deal that I see in photos of other reviews! Still recommend though as clearly mine seems like an off day.

Teatro Ristorante is a refined dining establishment located in a historic bank building dating back to 1911. Since its opening in 1993, it has established itself as one of the premier restaurants in Calgary. Situated near Stephen Avenue and Olympic Plaza, Teatro offers delectable Contemporary Mediterranean Cuisine made from organic and local ingredients, complemented by Italian specialties such as extra virgin olive oil sourced from the owner's family groves in Italy.
The pasta bolognese was amazing! I sat at the bar & Jeff was an exceptional bartender, so personable & attentive. I had the Bordeaux wine…Delicious! Jeff let me try some of the other reds also but the Bordeaux was my favorite. The Raul Silva Espresso martini is incredible & I was skeptical. Would recommend for anyone visiting Calgary.

Went for an anniversary dinner. The restaurant was so beautiful and it was on our bucket list to try. To eat we had the olives, the bolognese pasta, and the 32oz steak. To drink we got a mojito and a stout beer. The pasta was the highlight the steak was okay. The focaccia bread was super salty. For the price, we have had better. As well, the service didn’t “fit” the restaurant (ex. The food would come as we still had our finished plates in front of us, once it got busy the manager had to step in to help…etc).

Teatro offers a refined dining experience with excellent service and atmosphere, which made it a great choice for a wedding venue. The food was very good overall, with the halibut as a highlight and the tiramisu fantastic. The pork dish was less enjoyable, with too much fat, but the rest of the meal more than made up for it.

Last week, I was hosted by Wanderluxe Destinations and some key travel advisors were invited. We had a private table in back, maybe 15 of us farm to table style. I have never dined here (always wanted to) always nice when you are hosted but my word, this was such an incredible experience. Your staff were exceptional and very intentive (I used to cater) and been in the travel business for 27yrs and very well travelled, plus hosted to many private events all over. The farm to table menu was so fabulous!! Food waste is also important and the fact that you packed things up for all of to take away meant so much. I got the left over short ribs and potatoes. Trust me husband and my 16yr old loved that. The food was so good, I am just so impressed. I have great pics just not sure how to include that in my review. I let Wanderluxe know (as they paid) we were happy.

Had a great time there. I had the 3 course lunch menu, surprisingly my favorite was butternut squash soup. It was perfectly seasoned and tasted delicious. The main course, the braised beef chuck, was also quite good. I wasn’t a big fan of the dessert though, didn’t really like the black sesame crust and it overall wasn’t very sweet. But the experience there was great

Amazing- was in the private dining room for a professional conference with a speaker & dinner. The food was incredible! Beat my expectations. The portion sizes were great. There was a piece of cardboard on top of my salad, but it made me laugh more than anything. I'm sure it was a weird accident.

Opera Room at Teatro Ristorante was the perfect venue for our wedding. It was elegant, intimate, and absolutely unforgettable. From the stunning ambiance to the exceptional food and service, every detail was executed with care and sophistication. The space itself is timeless and romantic, creating the ideal backdrop for our celebration. A very special shoutout to Vanessa, our on-site lead on the day of the wedding. She was AMAZING. Calm, organized, and incredibly attentive, Vanessa ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Her professionalism and warm demeanor made us feel completely supported, and her behind-the-scenes magic allowed us to truly enjoy every moment without a single worry. We’re so grateful to the entire Teatro team for helping create such a beautiful and memorable day. If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines charm, culinary excellence, and top-tier service, Teatro Ristorante is it. Highly recommended!

We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Teatro Restaurant in Calgary, and it was an unforgettable afternoon from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. On our table, there was a beautifully handwritten card signed by every single member of the staff, congratulating us on our special occasion ,such a thoughtful and personal touch that meant a lot to us. We were warmly hosted by Chef Camilo, whose presence added a personal and genuine charm to the night. Our server, Danielle, was exceptional, attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. She recommended a bottle of wine that turned out to be just perfect for our afternoon. To start, we had the calamari and oysters, both fresh and absolutely delicious. For our main dishes, we shared the funghi pizza and the eggplant parmesan, which were rich in flavor and beautifully prepared. To finish, Chef Camilo personally brought out our dessert a stunning lemon cake that was the perfect sweet ending to an already incredible meal. The ambience and decor of Teatro are simply breathtaking elegant, intimate, and full of character. Every detail of the evening was curated to perfection. Thank you so much to Teatro, Chef Camilo, and our lovely server Danielle for making our anniversary so special. We’ll cherish the memories and definitely return soon.

The food was amazing. Easily the best lamb I have ever had. The smoked old fashioned drinks were outside my usual choice for drinks but very easy to enjoy. And it was fun to have the glasses smoked at our table. If I had to find a complaint all I have is that the chair was a tiny bit deep for me as I'm fairly small. We will definitely be back!!

An absolutely amazing evening and drinks. Would highly recommend! Unfortunately I did not have any food at this location, but it looked and smelled amazing. I had a handful of old fashioned drinks. Absolutely amazing! Lots of options and combinations available. If you are a fan of old fashions I cannot recommend this place enough. One of the best I’ve had. Period. Prices are a touch high, but well worth it. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Service was very quick and courteous. Staff were able to expand on options available, and make recommendations. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. It was busy (as I was there on Valentines Day) but still managed to find seating easily. Location is good, and in the heart of downtown Calgary. Bar is also attached to a hotel making it very convenient. Overall, would highly recommend!

I was here for a work meeting. When we walked inside I was greeted by a very nice hostess, followed by our server. The service here is absolutely amazing. It really did raise the ambiance of the environment. My steak was gorgeous and cooked perfectly. My tuna was very fresh and presented nicely. We all had a wonderful night here. If I was in Calgary again, staying at the Marriott, I would definitely come back to dine here again. Our continental breakfast was delicious and satisfying as well.

SO GRATEFUL - SUCCESSFUL, WONDERFUL BREAKFAST FOR 25 I was in town for an annual conference (Rotary, 15k attendees from around the world). This year, like previous years held in different Intl cities, I hosted a breakfast for ~25 of my special friends/colleagues who were attending the conference with me. A month prior, I interviewed three restaurants. I ended up contracting with ONE18 EMPIRE because of: a) their location -- easily walkable to Stampede Park b) my trust in Marriott-linked restaurants, and c) how their manager (Angelyn Goc-Oban) collaborated with me. I wasn't disappointed. - FOOD: Wonderful private breakfast buffet. My friends commented how this was so much better than their hotel's breakfast selection. Not the typical bucket of eggs, bacon, and fruit. Chef-prepared. Bespoke. (see buffet menu pic) We were also able to order off a menu for those with special food needs. Nice! - ATMOSPHERE/VENUE: We were given a private room with three tables (Mc Tavish Room - see pics). The buffet was around the corner. The room was special because of the rolling "barn doors" that opened the room up during socializing and buffet time, but could be closed to provide intimacy while we ate and talked. - SERVICE: I arrived about 30 minutes early. Faya, our lead server met me and walked me through everything. She even brought me an early coffee. As the morning progressed, she ensured the buffet remained stocked, turned off the overhead speaker music, and helped late arrivals get seated. Wow! Faya was great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND: I would definitely recommend ONE18 for small-group breakfasts. Angelyn is a great F&B operations manager -- who will work directly with you and also ensure a strong team member (like Faya) will take good care of your group. And, the kitchen team prepared the best breakfast buffet I've seen for a restaurant in general or for a small group. Oh, additional note. One of our breakfast group accidently left behind a few items. The ONE18 team secured the items and worked with me to get the items back to the owner the next day. Relief!

We stumbled upon this place on our walk downtown Calgary and called to book a reservation for a dinner of four and were told to just walk in since it wasn’t busy. When we arrived, the staff wasn’t welcoming and didn’t show us to our spot but instead told to seat wherever. The seating area was designed to fit guests on two. The guy told us he’ll be sending someone to put the table together in order to fit 4 of us but nobody ever came to do that. We did it ourselves. Our waitress wasn’t nice and understanding. We felt pressured to find what to order but in the end we couldn’t stay at a place where we didn’t feel welcomed by the staff. We decided to leave. One thing about their menu, it’s very selective and doesn’t have any sort of fish or seafood. I don’t recommend at the very least not the one located downtown

It's definitely one of the top spots for a great Old Fashioned. Didn't get around to ordering the mains, but all the appetizers were delicious. We were hoping for a better service, as we left without a chance of ordering a third round after sitting there empty-handed for close to half an hour.

The modern and urbane atmosphere sets the stage for a memorable dining experience at Double Zero Pizza.
Been here plenty of times before because I love it here! This time, I came on a Wednesday evening with my boyfriend. We were seated right away as it was not overly busy. We got Calamari, Meatballs, Cacio e pepe, and Spicy beef salami pizza. Our food was so good! Everything was flavorful and delicious. The serving sizes were just right. In the past, we’ve had their carbonara, sausage pizza, and mushroom pizza which all tasted fantastic as well! The service was excellent. We were pretty much in and out in about an hour. Our food came out quite fast and our server checked up on us often. We didn’t have to wait long once we asked for the bill. All the staff were friendly and approachable. The restaurant is situated inside Chinook Mall. The atmosphere is relaxed and the dining area is well-lit and nicely decorated. The environment is clean and well-maintained. Overall, we had a great experience here, as always. Will definitely come back soon!

The cauliflower is the greatest vegetarian dish ever made. Oh, the pizzas are good too. Only thing is that the linguine vongole was previously on the menu but now uses a heavy lemon cream sauce instead of a light oil coating. The heaviness really detracts from the fresh clam flavor. The kale salad could be cut up smaller, the leaves are huge but well dressed.
Alan W — Google review
Came here for a birthday celebration, and food was great. Their carbonara is good, size is small though, so I wouldn’t recommend ordering to share! All pizzas were good. They offer gluten free options on pizza but not pasta, but that’s okay! The spicy beef salami pizza was the highlight.

These guys made a wonderful first impression. Service was polite, attentive, and never clingy. They completely respected my desire to just sit and be antisocial for a little while. The portions were far better than most other places right now on the starters. The pizza was light, airy and tasty, and I've never had "cup and crisp" style pepperoni I enjoyed before my pizza here. Double Zero is definitely going in my "treating myself" rotation, and will likely be somewhere I show off to visiting friends and family.

Great food. There is no question about that. Happy hour is the time to go for great discounts. It would be a way better spot if their happy hour menu had more options.

Just a boring, corporate restaurant inside a mall. Food designed to be blandly unsurprising, atmosphere is like the showroom of a faux-upscale home goods store. Very poor accessibility for those with mobility issues. Why are you looking at reviews of this place? Just find somewhere more interesting.

Bad service and management. We went for a quiet family dinner around 6 PM—there were barely any other customers. We ordered two pizzas, a pasta, and a salad. Everything came out except the salad, which they forgot and only brought after everything else. When it was time to pay, I wanted to use a $100 gift card. The server handed me the machine, and I added a tip, thinking I was just paying the extra amount over the gift card. But instead, the full amount went on my credit card. I asked for the transaction to be reversed and was told it couldn’t be done on the machine and would take 10 business days to refund. I asked to speak to the manager, and it took her 15 minutes to come over. She didn’t introduce herself—just walked up with a “what’s up?” attitude. I explained the situation and asked for proof of the refund. Her response? “That’s why I’m here talking to you.” No receipt, no confirmation—just her word. Her solution was for me to still use the gift card, meaning I’d end up spending $230 total, even though half of that was supposed to be covered. So, if they mess up your bill, you’re stuck waiting 10 days for a refund with no proof it’s coming. It was a frustrating experience, and honestly, not how a restaurant should handle billing mistakes.

Nestled in the community of Lake Bonavista in Calgary's Southeast, The Lake House offers an upscale dining experience with stunning views of the lake. The lodge-like dining room features large glass windows overlooking the water, creating a picturesque setting for enjoying refined meat and seafood entrees.
We dined here for the first time for their new years eve menu. The ambience was great and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff gave us a choice of where to sit which was a nice touch. We did get a couple of the wine pairings with the meal, and they were expertly paired! The meal itself was delicious and offered a nice variety of flavors with each course. Very well done. The service was fantastic and all the staff were very attentive. We will definitely be back in the summer to check out the view once the lake is thawed, and to enjoy another meal.

A very top notch romantic restaurant. I recently went for a Sunday Dinner to celebrate an anniversary and this is easily in the top restaurants I've been to. The staff are exceptionally personable, helpful and so nice, the views are obviously amazing and it's a treat to have a location like this overseeing a lake yet be inner city. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was knowledgeable to help recommend the best meat cooked level and provide great drink and menu choices. We started with Crab and Potatoe Croquettes that were actually amazing and had very little crab smell and the texture with plating a treat for sure! After the appetizer our main dishes were plated with care and tasted amazing. The bison was delicious with the vegetable side and the stuffed pastry was actually an 11/10 and blew us away. The Ribeye was classic and cooked to perfection with the Potatoes and Broccoli and it definitely was a steakhouse quality dish. The desert being the lime creme brule was good and I would rate it visually a 10 but for taste it sat around an 8. It was not bad at all but having a meal where every item hits a solid 10 really holds a high bar that is both exciting and yummy to see. I give this place a 10/10 and highly recomme d everyone visit to enjoy a romantic dinner.

I’ve always wanted try the Lake House as it’s one of Calgarys stalwarts in the fine dining scene. (Alberta’s version of fine dining anyway) The restaurant is lovely with the views of the lake and the Alberta themed decor with the antler fixtures. The service was friendly and efficient by both the hostess and the server I ordered the Quiche which came with the daily soup, mixed greens or house cut fries. Unfortunately the soup of the day was corn chowder which is the one soup I’m not fond of so I went with the fries. The quiche was just okay. Mushroom, ham and onion but it was missing something. Like the salt of the ham wasn’t coming through or it needed more onion. I mostly tasted jello-y mushrooms. I felt it needed some seasoning. I also think half the fries with some of the greens would have made it more complete. The tomato jam the quiche was sat upon was tasty and the fries were really good with the house made ketchup The wine I chose from the wine by the glass menu was one of the best whites I’ve had. Brigaldara Overall I would go again but choose something else

Visited for our anniversary dinner. We made our reservation a couple of days ahead of the actual date, so we could check-out the live jazz on the patio. Overall, a great experience. The food was excellent. The service was great. Because the restaurant was busy, there were some lags in service times, but not too bad. The live music was a bonus. We shared an appetizer and each had different mains. The quality of the food was excellent. Would highly recommend Deane House.

Loved the set up, lots of people though very noisy. Which is fine but I could barely hear my aunt from across the table. We went for afternoon tea, cost about $130 not including gst and tip. The tea was good, the scones were warm and very tasty. The clotted cream was good and the peach jam was phenomenal. The tray consisted of a lot of different foods. My favourites were the sandwich, curry pie, raspberry tart, and ginger and rhubarb tart. The food was either very bland or extremely salty? Especially the salt! My aunt hardly touched most of the food and I tried to but I was drinking tons of water after each bite. You think they'd try their food before serving it. Very disappointing at the price you pay. I mean everything was salty even the cheesecake. Was a once in a lifetime experience, 100% could've been better. The people who served us were lovely and everyone was kind. Just disappointed in the food.

Such a beautiful and classic place! We had one of the private dining rooms for our party and it was beautifully decorated and had a nice library with classic vibes. The server was very nice and attending and greeted us warmly with refreshing drinks. We had a three course meal and they were all amazing. I specially loved the chocolate cherry dessert.

We have been to The Deane House a few times, this was our second time enjoying the Chef's Tasting Menu. Absolutely divine from start to finish, especially considering I have an egg allergy! Our server Liam was so welcoming and took great care of us. He ensured the Tasting menu would be an option, given my allergy, by clarifying with Chef John Beddoes. Thank you so much for making sure I had the most delicious dinner! Erin was also a lovely part of our evening, thank you for everything! Was a beautiful dinner at sunset, cannot wait to come back!

Beautiful place for your private event! It was such a pleasure to deal with management and I was obsessed with this old-styled architectural building! Stunning!!! And theirs garden… such a beautiful flowers and even tomatoes! Amazing friendly staff and beautiful place! Definitely recommended! As well, they have tent where you can celebrate your wedding or event. With beautiful chandeliers! I love this place and friendly people who’s working there !

Oh where to even start. The walk through the garden to the front door made promises that the restaurant truly kept. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and opted for the Sunday supper course with wine pairing. And had the most magnificent time. Upon entering the cosy yet beautifully kept historical building and opting to be seated in the back garden our waiter and servers were attentive, informative, kind and friendly. Our course meals were perfectly balanced, rich and flavourful meals with such a guided experience especially alongside the fantastic wine pairings. Wine pairings I might add that were so perfectly matched with the meal and independently good that my wife and I requested the names of each of them. Unsure of whether or not the dishes change as we were only here on vacation, I have one tremendous highlight that is apparently a new addition to the restaurant. The seabass. The seabass after being teased with wonderful entree was so delicious that we regret having not had the time to come back another day for more. It was delicate, rich and somehow full of flavour all at once. I cannot speak highly enough about how well the fish was prepared and as a lover of fish based dishes I was more than pleasantly surprised. The course itself was also very well priced for the quality only really shooting up in price with our deliberate decision to add wine pairings and an order of oysters which I will quickly add were so good my wife enjoyed them. And she usually finds them underwhelming. This review is long in the tooth so I will cut myself off here and simply say this. If you’re looking for great food in a great location I can highly recommend Deane house. Tremendous experience and one I will repeat every time we revisit Calgary.

Beautiful building, nice food and great service. I had the salmon and it was cooked properly. I just wish it was cooked with more herbs to bring up the flavour. Humus was great too, perfect for two people. Will return!

We finishes our birthday celebration trip to Alberta with dinner at Deanne House. We were served by Liam and were surprised by a birthday card signed by the entire crew on arrival. We especially loved the mussels (the birthday girl actually wanted seconds but I didn’t allow her to), the scallops and asparagus were also wonderfully prepared. We finish it off with the steak and pork chop as our main. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere during the evening. TIP: The main entrance is facing the Main Street and one must pass through the garden to get there. See video if you are not sure which building it is!

Blanco Cantina is a trendy Mexican eatery with a vibrant ambiance, known for its seasonal patio seating and tequila bar. With multiple locations in Calgary, it's the ideal spot for indulging in Tex-Mex delights and margaritas. The menu features an array of fillings like beef brisket, pulled chicken, and chopped pork served with flavorful accompaniments. Additionally, Blanco offers take-home margarita kits and to-go options for their delectable tacos.
The food and the drinks were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavourful , and so tasty. The vibes are on point with a fun, upbeat atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out. And the service? Immaculate. Brittney was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better that we ended up going two nights in a row! Highly recommend if you're looking for great Mexican food, amazing service and a great time in Calgary!

This is a nice place for some okay Mexican food. The tacos are tasty, the hot chicken ones are super spicy but delicious! The dirty fries were okay but a little dry. Great that you get complimentary tortilla chips with salsa - they’re delicious. Mostly all high top seating which won’t suit a lot of people but it’s comfy. Kinda pricy too. 3 tacos were $24! There is a parking lot around the back which is handy - if recommend paying by the app as it’s cheaper

A Stylish Tex-Mex Gem in Calgary! Blanco Cantina delivers an elevated Tex-Mex experience with charm, flavor, and flair. From the moment you step in, the ambiance strikes a perfect balance—warm, trendy, and full of character. The bar is stunning, offering an impressive selection of tequila that sets the tone for a lively yet relaxed evening. We enjoyed a variety of dishes on the patio, each one a standout. The tacos were bursting with flavor and generously topped—crispy, fresh, and beautifully presented. The wings had just the right crunch and seasoning, served with a cool dip that complemented them perfectly. A special mention goes to the seasoned popcorn—unexpected, but addictive! Every item felt thoughtfully crafted, never overly greasy or bland. Service was friendly and timely, even during a busy evening. The staff kept the vibe upbeat and accommodating, which made the experience feel seamless. Bonus: the location on 17th Ave makes it ideal for both casual nights out and celebratory meetups. Highly recommended for anyone craving upscale comfort food with a bold twist. We’ll absolutely be returning!

A very good lively atmosphere for a meal. They had good vegetarian options and the staff were very friendly. The table side guacamole even though it sounded impressive it wasn’t really that impressive. The tableside guacamole didn’t really have any seasoning like salt and lemon. Happy hour starts at 9 o’clock. The happy hour drinks aren’t satisfactory and watered down. When we were waiting for the check, our waiter kept us waiting for way too long. And also, they didn’t give us knives and forks until we ask for it.

Blanco Cantina: A Vibrant Spot with a Mixed Plate of Experiences Blanco Cantina is a popular Mexican-inspired restaurant with multiple locations, known for its lively atmosphere, extensive tequila menu, and well-advertised happy hour deals. It positions itself as a go-to spot for a high-energy fiesta, and it largely delivers on that promise, particularly for its drink offerings and vibrant social scene. The atmosphere at Blanco is undeniably a major draw. The decor is fun, modern, and perfectly suited for a night out with friends. Locations often feature rooftop or spacious patios, which are a huge bonus, especially during warmer months. The place is often bustling, with music and a lively crowd that makes it feel like a constant celebration. For those looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, this may not be the ideal choice, but for a fun and energetic meal, it hits the mark. When it comes to the food, the reviews are a bit of a mixed bag. The tacos are a highlight, with many patrons enjoying the variety and taste, especially on the half-price Taco Tuesdaze. The Quesabirria and Jalisco Hot Chicken tacos are often cited as standout options. The "el demonio" wings are also mentioned as a must-try for those who can handle the heat. However, some feedback points to the food being more "Tex-Mex" or "Americanized" rather than authentic Mexican cuisine, with some dishes described as lacking in flavour or being overpriced for the portion size. The tableside guacamole service is a fun, interactive feature, though opinions on the guacamole itself vary. The drink menu is where Blanco truly shines. The margaritas, particularly the classic and Chili Coconut flavors, are a crowd favorite. The daily happy hour specials on margaritas and tequila make it a very attractive spot for a casual or pre-night-out drink. They also offer a wide selection of tequilas and cervezas. If you're going to Blanco, it's widely agreed that the drinks are a reason to go back. In terms of service, experiences seem to be inconsistent. While many praise the attentive and friendly staff, a number of diners have reported slow or poor service, especially during busy times. This inconsistency can be frustrating and is an aspect that could use improvement to match the lively ambiance. Overall, Blanco Cantina is a great destination for a lively get-together with friends, particularly if you're looking to enjoy their excellent happy hour deals and a fun atmosphere. While the food may not be a home run for everyone, the vibrant energy and fantastic drink options make it a solid choice for a casual night out.

had an amazing experience at Blanco thanks to Tony! From start to finish he was super attentive, friendly, and made the whole night feel really welcoming. He had great recommendations, checked in often without ever being overbearing, and made sure everything was perfect. You can tell he genuinely cares about giving great service. Tony really went above and beyond – easily one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend asking for him if you go to Blanco!

Wow, Blanco’s was PACKED! Not a problem with the incredible staff though. Meals and drinks were delivered in a timely fashion and the manager was 110% on the ball. Hats off to the kitchen staff that kept firing out the food on time, on target. Our meals were excellent. Thank you to Lev, who is normally the bartender. He was incredible as a server. He is definitely the reason we will be back. Thank you for the spot on recommendations, the personable service and laughs. See you again soon! ~~~~~ We’ve enjoyed visiting Blanco’s for years now but the speed of service and professionalism we experienced with Carolina was incredible. We visited Blanco’s busiest time at Happy Hour and Carolina was flying around the bar handling food and drink orders like a champion!!! Her service was by far the very best we’ve experienced to date. Thank you Carolina, because of you, we will be back. ~~~~~ HALF PRICE PREMIUM TACOS!!! Are you kidding me! What a deal!!! ~~~~~ Another visit with great service and incredible food. 1/2 price tequila is a must. ~~~~~ WOW, great flavourful tacos and plentiful portions! We’ve been to MANY Calgary bars serving tacos and Blanco’s beats many of the highly rated and publicized locations (Avenue Magazine). We visited at happy hour and 1/2 price drinks and tacos you can’t beat. $2.42 each whaaaaaat! Red snapper tacos served as fajitas is a massive dish, you’d better be super hungry. The churros with cream cheese and caramel sauce is KRAZY good! I looked like a fool as I hammered that back! The manager Brad is incredible, take the time to say hi.

The vibe of this bar is amazing, staff is friendly and the beers and ciders really good. They have gluten free options, I have tried the Iced Tea (with vodka) and the apple cider and loved it. The apple cider is delicious, fruity but not sweet. We will come back for sure

A very cool place. Love to hang out with friends especially after work or a long day! A bit chill this time of the year at the patio, we stayed inside where there are a lot of big tables and couches to sit on. Beers were alright. You can bring your own food in!

Always worth a visit when you're in the area. Great beer brewed on-premises. Tap room is ... eclectic? ... eccentric? ... a lot of fun anyway (and also dog-friendly and kid-friendly). Lulu Bar is a trendy restaurant located in the heart of Calgary's 17th Avenue, offering an industrial-style setting and a fusion of Asian cuisine. The interior features a mix of West Coast and Polynesian influences, with surfboards adorning the walls and hanging lantern-style lights. The menu showcases Pan-Pacific dishes inspired by countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Hawaii, and California. This lively spot also offers an array of cocktails that blend tiki flavors with Asian fusion elements.
The experience was quite good. I loved the vibes and the food was phenomenal. It was my first time there and they took care of a lot of stuff. The servers were very patient and kind. They also catered for our dog, which was really nice. Overall it was an excellent experience were definitely recommended and I will definitely return back for sure.

Had a wonderful night at Lulu bar in August! We were in the outside side corridor which had beautiful lighting and a cozy vibe. Lulu is excellent for a larger group that is able to charge plates, because of this we were able to try a lot of different dishes We started with the fried coconut squid which some people in the group loved. I personally thought that the pieces of squid were a bit too thick, and it would have been better if they were thinner. Great texture though. We also got the grilled broccolini, and the kale salad. The broccolini was grilled perfectly, and is served over a miso sauce that compliments it perfectly. The kale salad was HUGE and perfect for sharing with 6 people. The dressing was zesty and sweet, and the crunchy chips gave it a great bite. A group favorite was the chicken wontons, there were 7 that came with the order which was very nice, and they came with a phenomenal dipping sauce. The BBQ crispy half duck was excellent, and came as a very generous portion. Cooked to perfection, we all really enjoyed it. Wok fried Thai noodles were outstanding with a generous amount of brisket in them. We also got the poke dish which was great for sharing and quite large, some of the hot dog bao buns, which were fined nothing note worthy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Absolute Must-Try in Calgary – LULU Bar! The food at LULU Bar is absolutely amazing! As a vegetarian, I was so happy to find plenty of delicious options on the menu. My top recommendation: the fried udon chips with kimchi dip — that combo is a total crowd favorite and something I’d go back for any day. The mushroom skewers were packed with flavor — I highly recommend pairing them with a bowl of steamed rice. Simple but unbelievably tasty! The Brussels sprouts were another winner — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My friends ordered a mix of meat dishes — pork, chicken, and more — and everyone at the table loved their meals. It’s rare to find a restaurant that truly nails every dish across the board, but LULU Bar does exactly that. The service was excellent, the staff super friendly, and the drinks menu was impressive. Everything — from presentation to taste — screamed top-tier dining. Whether you’re a local or a tourist visiting Calgary, LULU Bar is a must-visit spot for great vibes, amazing food, and a full dining experience you’ll remember. 🍜✨

Lulu Bar is easily one of my favorite spots in Calgary. I've been here multiple times, and every visit has been a hit. The menu is full of flavorful, creative dishes, and I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've ordered. Two standout dishes I always recommend are the beef tongue skewers and the fried coconut squid — both are packed with flavor and come in generous portions. Beyond the food, the service has consistently been excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and help make every dining experience feel special. Highly recommend Lulu Bar whether you're a first-timer or looking for a new go-to!

Me and a friend stopped at Calgary for dinner and we came across this place during our search. Right off the bat the ambiance was very excellent IG worthy for sure. The place was busy but they were able to get us a table right away (probably because there was only two of us, which i think we lucked out on). Service was excellent 👍🏻 the staff who served us knew the menu well and we were satisfied with the honest recommendations she gave. The food here was sooo good, we ordered the salt and pepper pork belly, chicken skewer, beef tongue skewer for appetizers as well as the hotdog bao. Appetizers were the bomb except maybe for the hotdog bao, it was okay I don't think it was worth the $12 price. Me and my friend shared a main, we got the wood grilled beef strip steak and it did not disappoint. The server recommended to have it with rice which we did and it was 😋. We finished the night off with their baked Hula for dessert, i really recommend not skipping dessert for this one. Overall although the restaurant seems to be base on Hawaiian cuisine we noticed some dishes had Filipino cuisine influence incorporated in it and we were very pleased ☺️. If you're in Calgary you have to eat here.

We came to Calgary to visit some family and decided to try this location. Absolutely try the squid. The drinks are spot on. The skewers had some kick, the chicken was adored a bit more than the sausage, but the sausage was alright. I'd say double the chicken, single the sausage. Also had the Brussel sprouts and can not complain. 4 of us shared and we left comfortable, not stuffed and not hungry. Our server was amazing, friendly and the water stayed topped up.

High Line Brewing, established in 2016, is a small-batch brewery located behind a Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. It's known for its unique and experimental approach to brewing, offering exciting flavors like Wabi Sabi Yuzu Sour and Seaward Gose with sea salt, kelp, coriander, and hopped sour. The brewery also hosts events like experimental music showcases and larger-than-life drag shows on certain nights.
Relaxed, fun vibe focused on quality and passion for craft beers. Food/drinks: great, wide ranging selection of craft beer with lots on rotation. Something for every palate. Food is prepared fresh and tasty. Service: chill, relaxed, friendly. You can tell the staff has a lot of fun and enjoys work. They have a lot of passion and pride in their work. Atmosphere: clean, spacious, funky. Free parking in their lot. Very welcoming for all walks of life. Price: very reasonable, especially for the quality.

I stumbled upon High Line Brewing while searching for a cool patio spot in Inglewood, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. Tucked away in Calgary’s historic Inglewood, HLB effortlessly fuses a laid-back, hipster vibe with a carefully curated selection of craft beers. It’s housed in a converted space that still nods to its industrial past, creating an atmosphere that's both authentic and refreshingly modern. The beer list is notably dynamic, but the Pineapple beer stands out as a must-try. Its bright, tropical twist perfectly complements the inventive spirit of the brewery. And if you think the experience stops at the drinks, think again—the hot dog selection adds another layer of delight. With several creative options on offer, each bite is as intriguing as the next. High Line Brewing isn't just a pit-stop—it's an experience. Whether you're a craft beer aficionado or someone looking to enjoy quality bites in a uniquely styled environment, HLB makes a strong case for itself as one of Calgary's hidden gems. Enjoy the blend of culture, flavor, and hospitality that keeps locals coming back for more.

Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill as well as the flavor of some of the beverages. Still a fun spot, but given the hectic nature of Inglewood and the lack of parking, it’s more of a hassle to get here and not really worth it.

We stumbled upon this place walking down the street and were happy we decided to stop in. The beer was excellent and unique and they had some good cocktails too. The staff was friendly and the patio area was really nice. My only complaint is that the flights come with 6 beers and by the time you get to the last 2 or 3 it’s already warm. It would be cool if you could split them up into groups of three so they don’t get so warm!

Good friendly service. A decent amount of patio spacing but also a good amount of indoor too. The menu offers interesting beers like a creamsicle nitro to a yerbe mate hard tea. They also serve hot dogs (it was ok) and charcuterie boards (saw lots of people ordering this). Good atmosphere with a well versed menu (not too big and not too small but something for everyone).

This lively venue hosts regular live music events and offers a rooftop patio where guests can enjoy delicious vegan eats and cocktails from April to Thanksgiving. The menu features a variety of plant-based options, including cauliflower wings, fries, tacos, burgers, and fish and chips.
Holy cow the burger I ordered was beyond delicious. Two perfectly seasoned smash patties surrounded by the softest, fluffiest brioche bun... feels like my cold, dead soul being surrounded by a comforting electric blanket... Not sure if this burger "The Hasselhoff" is a regular menu item as it looks like i popped in during a transitional menu period... but i hope they keep it. Band was great too! Had to flag the staff a couple times to get another drink. Will definitely come again.

Went to Modern Love last night to see an acoustic rock concert. The bass from the EDM playing on their patio upstairs was very distracting and annoying considering it took away from the experience we paid for. The artists mentioned speaking to the management, but nothing was done. Shame. No food was served and the bar had very limited drink options, with more than half the canned beverage options being sold out halfway through the night. Also, the smoke detector was covered with a Ziploc and duct tape. Not sure that passes code for a busy establishment with a couple hundred patrons. This place doesn't hold a candle to the old Broken City.

The toonie Tuesday hamburger has paper-thin patty. Looks sad and a pity to eat. Then they overcharge you on the side dishes, and finally gouge you by claiming their receipt machine doesn’t print. Passing by a burger place next door afterwards, and you realize you could have had a decent burger by paying the same price. This completes the whole bad experience at Modern Love.

I would give this place a 2.5. I have been to this place twice and I am not too impressed. Here are the pros and cons of this restaurant I love the concept of this place where everyone is welcome and that there is something there for those who have dietary restrictions. This is always a plus. The décor is arty, edgy, and yet it is rustic at the same time. It is a good place if you are looking for some live music and good times. Then there is the food. I food and drinks are very good. I enjoyed the vegan breakfast and cider that I had in this place. Many people have reservations about vegan food, thinking that it can't taste good. I'm happy to report that this food did taste good. It was warm, savoury, and had a homey feel to it after you ate it. Now here comes the bad points. The service was absolutely terrible! They got my drink order wrong twice and I had to wait 20 minutes for that alone. I ordered my meal when I finally got my drink and that took another hour for me to get it. I told my server that I still haven't gotten my food and that I was really hungry. He was good enough to check but that still took at least 5-10 minutes for him to get back to me. I understand that people get busy, are overwhelmed, and understaffed but this was ridiculous. You guys really need to step up on that because your patrons do not deserve to be that hungry for that long. On top of that, they did not offer me a discount or pay for my meal to show that they were remorseful for this service. It's not right to make a person wait so long for something that should only take 20 minutes tops. Please fix this.

I went to Modern Love with some friends for a night out and the bar service was terrible. The guy wearing the “Marshall” jersey was rude and dismissive. Ignored me completely. Just very rude and ignorant. The DJs were also incredibly rude (bleached blond guy) that was upstairs was ignorant and wouldn’t even look at me. Same with the DJ that was later downstairs. Not sure why they had such attitudes. Probably would not go back.

Super small venue but it was actually really nice! Came here to see a couple of punk bands and didn't know what to expect after reading the reviews. Yes, it's small. If sitting is important to you during a show then just come early. Food was decent, no complaints. A little disappointed in the cost of a soda - $3 seems ridiculous when it's full of ice and you get 3 sips ... And no free refills. We are sober so ordering booze is a no-no for us..would be nice for a more affordable option when we go out to shows at pubs.

Today we came to Brewster’s for a lunch meeting for work. I absolutely love coming to Brewster’s. That atmosphere is always lively. The food is always fantastic. I always go with the steak sandwich for most of my lunch lunches. A couple of the guys had the wraps and loved those as well. Very pleasant and polite and super easy to deal with. Great job today. And thank you very much.

Had a great experience at Brewsters in Calgary! The Bavarian Beef Dip was absolutely awesome—flavorful, tender, and perfectly paired with the au jus. While I'm not usually into IPAs, I gave their Mexican Ale a try, and it was surprisingly good. Also, the riblets were a fantastic appetizer—crispy, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. On top of that, the service was phenomenal—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Beef dip on a pretzel bun was delicious and filling. Tots were crispy. Service was quick, but it definitely gets busy at noon during the week with the work crowd in the area.

A buddy and myself popped into the Foothills location of Brewster’s the other night and had a great time. First the beer: it’s brewed inhouse, as this location brews all the beer for the Brewster’s locations and retail sales (available in house at all the locations and at your select beer retailer). They have any types and strengths of beer, so ask your server for the list and go crazy. You get everything from a flight to a growler so you can take some home. The food: this is where the menu shines. Lots to choose starting from wings, and snacks etc, up to steak sandwiches and a must try, the Butter Chicken. The flatbreads are also a must try, we had the Brewster's special, (which so good!!) We also had the wings, dry ribs the Korean tacos (which are fabulous), and the First Burger. The service: Our server Cara was bright and friendly, super knowledgeable and quick with a smile and ready to refresh our almost empty beer glass. Everything came out super-fast, the food was hot and fresh and the beer nice and cold. Check the web for locations and pop in soon, it’s a great place to fill your cravings and quench your thirst, and take some home. Cheers!!!

This place can do some minor and inexpensive repairs and renovations to make it more attractive for the diners. Tables certainly could use that. Believe me the lunch would be more pleasant if you don't have to hold on to your table, because it's rattling(!), while eating. The food is okay. You get what you pay for. Servers are nice, polite and helpful.

I got the brisket sandwich which was outstanding, it had so much flavor and was nice and moist. My friends got the Bagel Club sandwich and the spicy chicken sandwich. They thought that club sandwich would have been better on sourdough rather then on a bagel. Service was quick over the lunch hour, and there was lots of parking.

Thomsons Kitchen & Bar is a sophisticated dining destination that emphasizes local and sustainable ingredients while serving up contemporary Canadian cuisine. This hotel restaurant offers an exceptional brunch experience, perfect for special occasions like Father's Day. Guests can indulge in a lavish spread featuring breakfast favorites such as Eggs Benedict, buttermilk pancakes, and an omelet bar. The buffet also includes a delightful selection of charcuterie, cheeses, chilled seafood, carving stations with Alberta beef, and an array of delectable desserts.
My wife and I were out for a walk and she got cold so we looked for a place to stop in and warm up. What a treat it was to randomly pick this place. Their drink menu had so many fun and unique drinks that we intentionally came back the next night for drinks before our dinner reservation. We tried a couple appetizers here as they sounded so good on the menu and we were not disappointed. The presentation is next level and the food taste even better than it look. On top of this the atmosphere is cozy. The staff are all super friendly. And the seating is comfortable enough that if you wanted to spend hours here trying many different drinks you could do so with ease. We have already made plans to come here for a full meal experience on our next date night.

This was our first visit to Thomsons and I would highly recommend it if you are staying at the adjacent hotel. We appreciated not having to leave the hotel for supper after a long day of driving. The food was very tasty, the server was friendly, and it was pretty quiet. We ordered the steak bites for an appetizer, and although they were very good, the portion size was quite small. Suitable for 2 people. Then we ordered the Bison Short Ribs, the Brisket Poutine, and Caesar Salads with Grilled Chicken. All our food was delicious and the portion sizes were more than suffice. Overall, a pretty good dining experience.

Thompson's kitchen & bar. I have had buffet brunches around Calgary a lot. There is some very good ones out there and this one is by far one of the top 10. IT IS my favorite brunch buffet in Calgary now . They have live music very relaxing. All the food was fresh and delicious, and let me tell you about all the choices. So many delicious choices. All the desserts we're so well done and not overly sweet. And don't forget to top off your meal with a nice Caesar. You definitely won't regret going here for brunch. FOOD PORN....

We decided to try their Sunday brunch buffet for a special occasion event and they did not disappoint! As they're part of the Hyatt Hotel they had beautiful Christmas decor which made the place look really nice. We received friendly service through the entire meal, although they forgot our drinks orders a few times and couldn't be found for a long time at one point. Their selection of food was excellent, with clear labels in front stating allergens or lack of. I actually found many items were gluten and dairy free, which is great for those with intolerances. They also constantly replaced empty plates/trays so there was always freshly prepped food out. They had the usual breakfast items like scrambled eggs, omelettes made to order, sausages etc, and they also have eggs benedict's made to order, followed by a carvery station featuring med rare striploin roast, seafood like jumbo shrimp and Atlantic smoked salmon, then the charcuterie board with lots of pickled items, cured meats and cheeses. The highlight dishes for me were definitely the plump jumbo shrimp and the tender smoked salmon- the salmon tasted like it was made in house, it was far better than any store bought one I've ever had! For hot foods they had corn chowder which was delicious and creamy, variety of vegetable dishes, fish and more. Their desserts selection was smaller but still a good variety. I loved their mini tres leches pots. The price was $45/pp which is on the higher side for a lunch/brunch buffet but the quality and variety of food was excellent so it was worth it for us! I can't wait to go back for another celebratory meal!

Absolute Hidden Gem 💎 of a restaurant. Their Sunday Brunch Buffet is a must! Totally a 5 star experience. It is on par with Vegas buffets like Wicked Spoon and the Wynn buffet in terms of taste and quality! Everything tasted amazing! They even had a raclette station! Love how you can create your own food adventure here. They have an omelette station, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beef roast, an oatmeal station, potatoes, charcuterie, a yogurt station, shrimp, clams, Asian food like fried rice, soups, chicken, salmon, fresh baked pastries that are savoury and sweet, cakes, puddings, cookies, fruit, and much more! It’s like Christmas! Their French toast was the best French toast I’ve ever had. I don’t know what they did to it but it is one of the wonders of the world and they have all the toppings like syrup and whipped cream to top it off. Their fried rice was also soft and fluffy and highly above average. The cheeses and breads were top notch. Their white chocolate cheesecake panna cotta was also a standout. Such a wonderful feast. Can’t wait to come back.

IG:@intallaEats The Thompsons Kitchen and bar is a surprising hidden gem even though its in a popular area, Stevenson Ave, its never been busy the times I've gone, even in peak hours and the items I've had some far have been quite tasty. Thompsons bar fish and chips 24$ pre tip/tax 5/5 Filling 2/5 Presentation 2/5 Price 4/5 Taste 4/5 Texture 17/25 overall Fish and chips. The fish is battered the right amount it's fried good but it doesn't feel or taste particularly oily. Normally of its too oily ill get an upset stomach but not here, the chips are good but I prefer mine a little thinner and crispier, the coleslaw is pretty standard. But the fish stands out a lot to me amongst other places I've had fish and chips in Calgary Charcuterie and cheese 32$ pre tip/tax 3/5 Filling 3/5 Presentation 1/5 Price 4/5 Taste 4/5 Texture 15/25 As Charcuterie boards at restaurants go, this has been the the best one so far, usually they are quite disappointing and lackluster in quantity of items, this one is however had a proper good portion of cheese, the date Jam was splendid and the meats were good, was rationing the crackers for the board but after we were almost done found out we could've had more crackers.

I'm having 3 courses meal but I don't feel like dining in a high class place as Hyatt Regency would put itself as. Since this place is located inside Hyatt I'm expecting to have service as good as Hyatt. I'm getting rush to eat. The place wasn't that busy but I was given a partial wet table. Taste wise the food was good but even after I finished 1 bottle of San Pellegrino I was still thirsty after meal.

We ate at Thomsons for the first time last night and had a truly memorable experience. It was one of the most enjoyable restaurant visits we've had in quite some time. The food was excellent. I ordered the steak sandwich, and my husband had the rack of lamb—both dishes were cooked to perfection. Our two toddlers had the fish and chips, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The fries and fish were crisp and flavorful without being greasy. The service stood out as exceptional. The two gentlemen who served us were attentive and genuinely kind, especially toward our children. They took the time to learn their names and made them feel welcome and special throughout the evening. We appreciated the thoughtful kids menu alongside a well-rounded regular menu. We’ll definitely be returning.
