Bar
Nestled in the heart of Calgary, Greta Bar is a vibrant destination that perfectly marries global flavors with an exhilarating gaming experience. This lively venue invites you to indulge in a diverse menu filled with international street food delights, from Italian arancini to Jamaican patties, all while sipping on expertly crafted cocktails and local beers. The atmosphere buzzes with excitement as guests navigate through over 50 arcade games, including classics like pinball and air hockey.
Visited during happy hour and was pleasantly surprised at the happy hour options they had. It wasn’t too crowded but it was a good crowd and the music was great. Definitely a pretty cool place for either a friend hang or even date night! They have a live dj and dance floor area downstairs on the weekends. Really enjoyed the atmosphere as well!
Milona I — Google review
I went here for a company party on a Saturday evening. Great time. Service was great. Lots of games to play. Pinball is downstairs. Plenty of tvs to stay updated on the hockey playoffs. Was not a big fan of the music, but I'm not 20 years old, so it's probably stuff the younger kids like. I would definitely recommend this place for a company gathering. Drinks were a bit pricey, but again, as someone who rarely goes downtown to the bars, the prices are most likely the same. Good times here.
David R — Google review
Greta Bar is perfect for groups, it has a great energy and a fun crowd! The basement turns into a dance floor, which made the night even better. Arcade games were a bit pricey (we loaded 140 points and played around 6–8 games), so I suggest going on a Sunday for the $5/hour unlimited games. Beers and cocktails were reasonably priced, and the overall vibe was lively and well-designed. Definitely a good time!
Angel V — Google review
Great place to network and meet new people. Music was a bit too loud so you gotta shout. Ambience and games were good tho. Drinks were affordable too.
Michael A — Google review
Went here and had a good time playing games. I liked that they had a few mocktails on the menu as well as alcohol.
Carla C — Google review
I planned our second annual event at Greta this week and it went amazing! Molly was so helpful in the lead up to the event, answering all my questions and making sure we were getting the most for our budget. We had around 80 people in “the Alley” and it was such a great space: Private while not isolating us from the games around the bar. Tamara took care of us while we were there and made hosting so easy; I was so grateful to have her there! Zack and his team at the bar/serving were awesome and Will was so accommodating closing out the night. Overall, everyone had a great time and it made me look amazing! I’m excited for our next event here.
Alma V — Google review
We went for a corporate event and the food offered was fantastic. Great variety of games to play which were a lot of fun. Nice staff. Loud environment but nothing out of the ordinary for a bar. Really cool vibes and decor.
Chelsey P — Google review
Went to Greta Bar in Calgary for a private event and had an amazing time. The food was delicious — especially the Korean BBQ wings and nachos. They offer a great variety of cocktails, and the ones I tried were excellent. Plenty of gaming options make it perfect for socializing and team events. Recommend taking a ride share as parking could be a challenge.

Live music bar
Live music venue
Whiskey Rose is a lively club in Calgary that prides itself on providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for friends to come together and celebrate life's moments. The saloon features live music acts, adding an authentic touch to the clubbing experience. With its western decor, tasty BBQ bites, and country music, Whiskey Rose perfectly captures the spirit of the Stampede. It also offers a unique 17th Avenue Calgary Stampede tent experience.
I’m from Vancouver, but ever since my first visit to Calgary, Whiskey has been a must-stop every time I’m in town. The atmosphere is always great—but it’s Elisa who keeps me coming back! She’s incredibly warm, fun, and genuinely makes you feel welcome the moment you sit down. Somehow, she always knows exactly what I’m in the mood for. Her service is exceptional, and she truly sets the bar (pun intended)! 🎉
Venessa S — Google review
We came to this place with high expectations after receiving good recommendations. Our group was large (6 people). The restaurant was half-empty. It took about 10 minutes before anyone approached us at all — and only after what seemed to be the manager motioning to a server to come over. We had to ask for water ourselves, and even that took over 5 minutes because the waitress was standing at the bar chatting with someone. We ordered a first round of drinks (which ended up being the only round), and again, the wait was very long. The gin tonic was terrible — there was no trace of alcohol in it, it felt like there was none at all. After that kind of service and drinks, we decided to leave — everything about the experience was bad. We asked for the bill, and they silently handed us the machine without mentioning that a 20% tip was already included. Not knowing that, we left the minimum possible tip on the machine as well. Only later at home did we realize we had double-tipped, even though, to be honest, the service didn’t deserve even a single tip. We were left with a very poor impression, especially because of the waitress’s careless attitude and the low-quality drinks. P.S. It was one of the girls’ birthdays, and we just wanted to have a nice time and a few drinks to end the day — which only made the whole situation feel worse.
Lana — Google review
Good country feel, decent layout and live music seems common which can be heard from below as well- Might be a bit loud if you want to talk. Close to a bunch of other spots but, depending on the day etc there may be a cover charge around $25.
R&M S — Google review
Whiskey Rose isn’t your typical bar — and that’s exactly what makes it special. The atmosphere is super unique, with a vibe that blends rustic charm and modern edge in all the right ways. From the decor to the music, everything feels thoughtfully put together to give you an experience, not just a night out. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Whether you’re there for a casual drink or looking to dance a little later in the night, this place delivers. If you're into spots that break the usual bar scene and give you something fresh and different, Whiskey Rose is definitely worth checking out.
M M — Google review
A true roadhouse feel. Band was great, it was a Saturday night, food was much better than expected ( it was very good). Our wait staff was fantastic, so my team and I will be back next time we are in Calgary!
Andrew K — Google review
I visited Whiskey Rose last week and Denby was awesome! Super friendly and easy to talk to. She checked on us just the right amount and made sure we had everything we needed. Service was quick and relaxed, she made the whole experience really enjoyable. Would definitely come back and ask for her again! I recommend also trying their pizza! Very good

I love this place! Western Saloon-Country vibes and the food is amazing! The bartender was dress like a cowboy he was awesome hahah. You gotta try the Whiskey Rose cocktail of course and any big plates like the Nashville Chicken. So good!

Cowboys Dance Hall is the ultimate destination for those seeking a vibrant night out filled with country-western flair. This lively bar and casino is renowned for its electrifying atmosphere, especially during events like the World Stampede, where it truly shines as one of North America's top mega bars. With line dancing, happy hours, and sports on TV, there's never a dull moment here.
Angie is absolutely amazing! She is so professional, so sweet, and is the perfect example of hospitality. She made our experience at cowboys a 10/10. She was so welcoming and brought the good vibes for a good night! Angie is the best! Give this girl a raise!!!!
Abby H — Google review
Had my friend come to my home, sick, and unable to get his coat from coat check (with his house keys in it) at 2:30am with the casino open. They told him no. Who lets someone clearly inebriated go home without their personal items? You don’t know what you’ve checked along with someone’s coat. Very thankful I was awake and he had somewhere to stay. Even more thankful that this wasn’t a woman being left without her keys in the middle of the night
Jolie — Google review
I don’t normally leave reviews, but my last experience at Cowboys Dance Hall crossed a line. The bouncer pocket pooled me, seriously, and was coming on way too strong. As a man, I rarely say this, but I genuinely felt unsafe. There’s a difference between doing your job and invading someone’s space, and this was far beyond that. On top of that, they’ve taken away the community skatepark just to set up their music festival. That’s not just inconvenient, it’s a huge slap in the face to the local community. There were so many other options for where to host the event. Honestly, you could have pocket pooled me again and I would have been fine with it compared to this. Stop holding the skatepark hostage. Give the community their space back.
Bert O — Google review
Trying a bit too hard to be a country concert hall and the upstairs games area was under construction but still an ok place to go if the drinks weren’t crazy priced (stampede pricing??). Plenty of room inside until it’s after midnight. It’s nice you can leave for a bite outside the hall and just walk right back in with a stamp.
R&M S — Google review
⭐ One Star – Because Zero Isn’t an Option** If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to party inside a biohazard site with really shitty country music blasting in the background, welcome to Cowboys Dance Hall. The last time I went, I didn’t just lose my dignity. I lost my footing on a puddle of someone else's vomit conveniently left by the bar like a little *“ yeehaw surprise .”* Did staff rush to help? Did anyone care? No. This place is filthier than a gas station bathroom during Stampede. I wouldn’t be surprised if the floor has its own ecosystem by now. If you’re into questionable hygiene, sticky boots, and the faint scent of regret, you’ll love it here.
Juniper S — Google review
The screeners at this place are racist. They denied me re-entry. They stated the picture when i entered the first time is a different person. When i informed him that i left my hat at the car. He called multiple guards to escort me out. Did not listen to my explanation at all. They didn't even refund my purchase. Do not go if you’re a minority!!
Nasir A — Google review
Showed up at around 11 the other day, the people I was meeting weren’t there yet so I got in line up to the point where I could see that entry to the dancehall was 30 dollars???? That itself is outrageous. Eventuallly my friends texted me that they were there (they are from Australia and didn’t know where to go) so I stepped out of line and went to the back of the line to wait with them. After finally reaching the door for the second time, the entry had gone up to $40. What an absolute scam. I had to transfer some money over from my savings as I didn’t expect the price to go up within fifteen minutes… and asked if I could just step aside for a second, to which the security guard rudely kept denying me and telling me to get in the back of the line FOR THE THIRD TIME. Not even worth it whatsoever, DJ plays really bad music and it’s overall disappointing. The musical festival is probably the only thing I’ll go to from now on, and even that is a huge money grab. They say the artist/band comes on at 9-9:45 and then they don’t come on stage until 11 at the earliest…they just want you to buy more outrageously priced drinks ($13 a beer) even the drinks on the actual stampede grounds don’t cost that much. Bartenders and other employees are awesome so I feel bad for writing this review, but it’s just really disappointing to see.
Ava D — Google review
Cowboys has been a second rate club for a long time, now they feel they need to take over and damage calgarys biggest skatepark for a large portion of the summer for no reason. Theres literally a football fields worth of green space 50' away that wouldve been and has always been suitable for setting up stages yet theyd rather take up space used by others and disrespectfully cut the hand rails out just to attempt to chase some profits like they dont already rake in the cash during stampede anyway. Ps, your club sucks the other 51 weeks a year too

Live music venue
Night club
Commonwealth Bar & Stage in Calgary offers a unique rustic-chic ambiance with DJ shows and dance floors on two levels. The venue, located in a converted warehouse, was founded by local music enthusiasts and aims to bring creativity and discerning music to the nightclub scene. With a menu of upscale bar bites, the club caters to diverse musical tastes, offering top 40 hits, old rock and dance, hip hop, and classics on Friday and Saturday nights.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an awesome night out at Commonwealth Bar tonight, and it was everything I hoped for! The vibe was electric with the live music and that killer purple lighting setting the mood. I loved chilling with my cold Corona Extra, lime perfectly perched, while soaking in the crowd’s energy—perfect way to unwind after cruising around in my convertible. The downtown view from outside with those lit-up skyscrapers was a bonus, and the atmosphere inside felt so lively. Great spot for a fun night out—definitely adding this to my regular hangouts!
Fidel A — Google review
I recently visited Commonwealth Bar and Stage in downtown Calgary, and it was a great experience! The atmosphere was vibrant, with fantastic music and a spacious layout that made the evening enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the positive vibe of the place. The live performances were definitely the highlight, showcasing amazing talent that kept the energy levels high throughout the night. One thing to note is that they charge $5 to keep your jacket inside, and the counter accepts cash only, so be prepared if you’re planning to use this service. The entry fee was slightly higher than average, but for the ambiance and entertainment, it felt worth it. That said, I’d recommend arriving early to avoid long waits at the entrance. Overall, Commonwealth Bar and Stage is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a lively night out in Calgary. I’m looking forward to going back soon!
Amal M — Google review
We came for a burlesque night that we were excited about, but ended up leaving after the first two performers- the dancers were lovely, but the sound for the performances was painful. The gain on the system was way too high, and the feedback from the audience cheering was awful. There were no chairs or seating of any kind except in the two VIP sections (reserved), just bar tables. And last but not least, on entering the bar, they take a photo of your face and your ID and send it to an international database shared with bars in the States as well as police forces in both countries. They told us that as long as we are well behaved, it won't be a problem. Probably won't be back, so won't be a problem there.
A S — Google review
I’m leaving a second bad review about this place because it’s a gong show. We paid $48 to get into the basement on the long weekend. It was sweltering down there so we wanted to go outside to cool off. We asked the door people if it was okay and they said it was no problem. We were given wristbands so it was clear we were already inside and paid for tickets… When going back inside they told us we had to go to the back of the line again, despite having wristbands. We waited over 30 minutes to get back inside and we were treated like garbage by the staff. They were so incredibly rude and also extremely slow with getting people checked in. It’s like they’re all zombies. When we got back to the front of the line, I figured maybe they wanted us to wait to search us again, however they just let us in .. so they made us wait for absolutely no reason. This place SUCKS
Maggie W — Google review
Guest list is a JOKE and a SCAM. Arrival time was before 10:30. My group had arrived at 10:10 we went to the front doors and were informed by the staff that we would need to line up at the back because there was an event no problem. We go to the back and are waiting inline for over half an hour and it was NOT moving. At around 10:40, 10:45 a worker came out and asked who’s waiting for guest list and sent us all BACK to the front before we went we asked him if we will still make it in because now it’s past 10:30 but we’ve been waiting. He assured us it would not be a problem and they will not charge us cover because we were on guest list awesome right? So back to the front we go to wait in another line! As soon as we’re at the door their demanding payment? We signed up for guest list for a reason the worker refused to get anyone higher up and refused to look at the guest list because “it was past 10:30” like yes because we were standing in a line that didn’t move for over half an hour. We then go out to the front and talk to the girl working there and asked her why this is such a disorganized mess and why we’re being forced to pay. No explanation given no reasoning nothing what a joke. If you sign up for guest list just know it’s a SCAM they’ll make you wait outside for over half an hour so they can collect payment from you anyways. What an absolute joke.

Great intimate venue for an up close and personal experience. Night one with @morganwademusic September 27, 2025.
Jennifer B — Google review
If I could give them a zero I would. On Friday September 5 I went out with friends and was quite literally assaulted by their security staff around 1:45am on the 6th for barely stepping into the staff bathroom resulting in my dread locks getting scalped from my head. That is excessive force beyond measure. I’d highly advise against going to this venue, they do not care about your safety only your money.

DJ Patio Party had great sounds but a weird Eastern European creepy horror movie “Hostel” vibe. Great if you like cramped spaces 14x15 with other people. Demographic was choice and the music but menu was a pass…

Ranchman’s Cookhouse & Dancehall is a popular western bar and dance hall in Calgary that offers a unique cowboy experience year-round. The venue features a spacious dance floor, live stage for performances, and an exciting mechanical bull. Guests can enjoy pub-style food from 4:00pm onwards before joining one of the many dance lessons offered on select days.
Coming from Ontario, I wasn’t sure what to expect with line dancing, but wow—Albertans have truly mastered the art of a great night out! The energy, the music, and the dancing were absolutely incredible! The food was delicious, and the waitresses? The sweetest, most delightful, and humbly beautiful people you could meet. Even the massive bouncers had warm smiles as we passed by—what a welcoming place! One bouncer even caught me snapping pictures on the bull out on the deck, and instead of kicking me out (since we weren’t technically supposed to be there), he let it slide. Thank you, Mr. Bouncer—you rock! The picture turned out amazing, and I have to upload it (hoping it doesn’t start a trend, hahaha). What a night to remember!

Went this evening, a Saturday in March, had THE BEST time! The live band, vibes and general crowd was great, felt people were friendly and everyone was there just to enjoy the music, some drinks and lots of dancing!! The operator of the mechanical bull was great, friendly and helpful. Going for a ride made my night and highly recommend for any adventure seekers! I tried the line dance lessons with the headphones - that was new for me and was blown away at this new tech - could hear the instructions so clearly and had so much fun! Don’t forget your cowboy hat!🤠

May 2025 Went to Ranchmans to go see the show 'Forbidden nights'. The show was awesome and extremely funny! Funny I the best way possible. If they come back to Calgary again, my friends and I will be coming back again. It would be nice to see a show like this in a more established location like an event center or hall, but this bar made it work! It was spacious and fun.

Being my first time in Calgary for a national competition, one of our social nights was to ho line dancing at Ranchman’s. I’d never been line dancing before but my lord it was fun! We even got a private line dancing lesson but even if you don’t know the people are kind enough to lend a hand and help you learn. Service was awesome, the dancing was fun, the energy was great, the food was good. I went in with no expectations and was blown away. 12/10 I highly recommend this place for a fun active night out.

We reserved tables for 18 and had an absolute blast. The live music was great, our server was top shelf and no one in our party waited for her to catch up on orders. For the group size, food arrived quickly and was delicious and came to our table hot.

Last time you will ever see me there. When I got married 3 years ago in Grande Prairie I took my wife, an ex-cattle farmer there for the first time on our honeymoon. Tonight was the first time back since, we got there as the band played their last song. Watching across the dance floor of rap, we seen a screen showing the mechanical bull ride. Went straight for it, got turned around after 15 mins to go sign a waiver. She paid the $39.50 to ride the bull and signed the digital waiver after waiting 20 minutes. We wait 15 minutes to get turned around again cause she doesn’t have the approval code, even though he could see on his iPad yes she paid and was in the cue. She again went back while I watched her drink waiting 15 more minutes for the “propped up” bartender to say “just so you know, for your size and for your age, you really shouldn’t be riding the bull. “ Who wouldn’t be devastated and walk away with the last shred of dignity. After the $24 admission, $50 drinks (which we didn’t finish) and $39.50 bull ride she paid for, I tried to get that code and she wouldn’t let me not knowing the story til after we left, but seeing tears. I won’t be stepping in there ever again for any kind of refund, you made your last dollar off of us because the day I got married I vowed to honour my wife for the rest of my days, and hearing the reason after she left in tears, well I can’t say I’ll miss you either, BUT I will honour her dignity. The video is the guy before I left. The rope light is just above the bar we paid. You really shouldn’t have gotten rid of the old chuck wagons and saddles in the ceiling, there’s no nostalgia left.

Restaurant
Sweet Loretta Bar in Calgary is a unique establishment that combines the elements of a snack and cocktail bar, disco club, and lounge. It offers diverse musical experiences with resident DJs and emerging artists playing genres like disco, soul, funk, afro-beat, jazz, and new wave. The venue also boasts a menu filled with delicious shareable plates catering to various palates including options for vegetarians.
I recently celebrated my birthday at Sweet Loretta, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The service was, hands down, the best I’ve ever had. Diana was incredible—from her email correspondence to her service on the night of, she went above and beyond in every way. I had some pretty specific (and maybe even demanding) requests, and the team didn’t just accommodate them—they executed everything beyond my expectations. The atmosphere, the food, and the overall experience were all phenomenal. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares about its guests, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

Pretty good! Atmosphere and music were great. Overall food was good but there were only a couple dishes that really stood out. Service was not as great as I hoped, many times the servers would place the ends of utensils right atop the food and not do anything to fix it… drinks were nice and boozy. Very curious about when the place turns into a club!

used to love this place. i also used to love dancing here but dont anymore… music isnt as good as summer 2024. recently they cut their happy hour to not include fries? also cut many items off of their -54% off everything i raved to my friends about. this place really was my favourite and i told everyone this and now it is not. also forgot our order for whipped feta and said it got lost for 45 mins. serviced didn’t know the menu and got multiple questions about items wrong…

I've only attended Sweet Loretta for ticketed parties and I've ordered food once but was impressed by the selections. The upstairs has a sultry design with cozy tables and a great fireplace. Drinks are great and staff are always friendly and eager to assist. The basement can get extremely hot, but there are A/C vents at the back that help cool you down, it a dark but fun vibe down there too.

Two floors, ate upstairs and went to a great DJ show downstairs. Fun cocktails and shots! Decor is classy retro, well done!

I love Sweat Loretta....the end of August in Calgary is Gay Pride weekend I heard about Sweat Loretta figure give it a try. I would like to say they were very polite made the visit with them on pride night fun..my friends and I could have gone to a gay club or bar but we heard good things about Sweat Loretta that it was worth a visit. First let me say the security/bouncers were really nice.. I did not know about the dress code till it was pointed out to me... the security did pull me out the line. But seeing I come so far from Toronto they didn't want to spoil my visit then explain the dress code and shoe policy which is understandable gay bars/clubs we dont wear dress shoes. So it was my mistake but the security was very nice and did let me in. And I just wanted to thank all the security thank you very much for all you guys to keep us safe..its truly amazing as a gay male one never knows when going to a straight bar/club if will be attated or beat up.But safe to say that didn't happen it was a very safe environment to be who you are with out staff or security making fun or picking on the odd group out in the village. I will visit Sweat Loretta again next time I'm back in town. BUT the Dj need to play more then house music mix up old school. I will thanks my friend at work for recommending the club.

Wow!!! Where do I even begin. Once you get to the address you don't really know what to expect, but once you open the door into the place, you get this unique vibe that is quite memorable. The place itself is incredible, the decor is superb, and the atmosphere is simply cool. Once you are at your table you find yourself sitting in extremely comfortable chairs, and that is when the whole experience begin. We were greeted by the one and only Braxton, and I say the one and only because she has to be one of the best Mixologists in Calgary. She asked us what we liked and since we said everything, she asked "do you trust me" and we totally did, and boy oh boy was it worth it. She prepared these two complex drinks for us, that were something totally knee to us. Then we ordered the pita, hummus and the falafel and our mouth were still watering after we were done, it was absolutely delicious. We kept trying more and more dishes till we found ourselves devouring a one of a kind cheese cake, and at that point we had a food comma. Throughout the entire night Braxton treated us like royalty, and made sure we were having a good time. As parents of a little one you don't get these kinds of opportunities often but when you do and you get the kind of treatment we got from Braxton, Chef Guillermo, Isabella, and the rest of the staff (I could not ask for everyone's name), you feel like it was totally worth it and you want the night to last even longer. Thank you all for the incredible night! You guys have something special here, keep it up. You can see that I have over 500 reviews but I have never posted so many pictures, now this place is worth the many pictures.

This restaurant/bar was unusual. We got there a few minutes early so they told us to go downstairs and have a drink at the tiki bar. We got seated and ordered drinks which are very exotic and in unusual glasses. The hostess came down to get us to tell us that our table was ready and we had two glasses each to carry. I thought they might put it all on a tray and carry it upstairs for us but they did not. As we were walking by the bar the bartender informed us that we had to give them our glasses because the glasses that are drinks were in could not be taken upstairs. I thought this was rather odd but we gave them our glasses and traded them out for just regular ones. We ordered everything on the menu except for two items. The menu is exotic however each item is just a small plate. So we each tried one bite of everything that came to the table. This place was recommended by someone who said it was great because it turns into a dance club later in the evening. However the music was very unusual. We waited for about 40 minutes for it to rev up a bit but the music stayed very mellow. I was a bit let down by the experience.

The Canadian Brewhouse (Calgary Mahogany) is a popular spot for various occasions, from ladies' Christmas get-togethers to family outings. The prime rib with delicious mashed potatoes and gravy was a hit, while the cold alcoholic coffee received mixed reviews but was customized by the attentive waitress. On busy nights featuring hockey games and UFC fights, the service stands out, with servers like Taylor going above and beyond to ensure an exceptional experience.
I really love this place, most of the times there is plenty of space to seat without reservation and no waiting time, so much better than my previous experience in other location. This is the best place for tap beer lovers, they have awesome food and service! Look for the daily specials, and seasonal menu. If you become a regular is better to download their app you can get extra promotions and every visit helps to get extra discounts. This is a great place to watch your sports games! Is very exciting to hear the bell and everyone cheering up for their team!

We came here on Father's Day because everywhere else had wait times and the just opened. I was glad we did. They had free apps for pappies, so that saved some money. Everyone in our party was happy with their meal, and the service was great and very responsive. When we asked for more dipping sauce, they brought it right away.

From Albuquerque New Mexico and I can say much to my great surprise Taco Tuesday did not disappoint. I tried every Taco they had their on their menu along with the quesadilla and found all of the items bursting with flavors authentic to the cuisine. More spice than found in the two closest states. This chain really does deserve all the praise. These are recipes I would cook and honestly I'm not used to my food being in competition with dining out. Didn't catch the bartender's name that was very quick with it especially with me just rattling off the order of everything on this side of the menu and I didn't mind the upsell on the salsa. It was a good house made salsa and the guacamole was chunky good sign it was fresh for the most part but probably what I liked least which is shocking. A little bit more lime juice for the acid a pinch of salt was all it was missing. The margarita was on point, garnish beautifully with a nice rim, I know the photo is bad but trust me with a jalapeno and lime it looks real good. It's simple drink but good on you all for doing it so well.

So this is a review specifically of the special events they have from time to time, in this case a giant steak for $50. It came with a very good Ceasar salad, 2 sides (I got double potatoes. I told them they could just leave the veggie side out but they went and added extra potatoes). The potatoes were solid and a very good gravy. The only negative on the steak was it wasn't trimmed well so there was about 8-10oz of the 40 that were just pure fat and or gristle. But it was really well seasoned, was as consistently med rare as you can get with meat that big. Their Asian steak sauce absolutely rules (the cup on the bottom right). Would do again in one of the fewer heartbeats I'd have left.

Palomino Smokehouse is a popular BBQ joint in Calgary, known for its slow-smoked meats and rustic ambiance. The restaurant offers a variety of premium barbecue options including Kansas City pork ribs, Alberta beef brisket, Spolumbos smoked sausage, pulled pork, turkey, and chicken. Their menu also features chili, stews, mac n cheese as well as the buzzworthy Beyond Meat veggie burger.
Probably the best barbecue place in Calgary. Great service, great vibe, big portions, and tasty food. Live music on Friday nights, happy hour 3-6pm on Fridays ($6 alcoholic drinks), and brunch on Saturday mornings. Can't go wrong any time of the day. The Alberta brisket sandwich and Texas breakfast (for brunch only) are highlights. Tried one of the "block" restaurants nearby (a competing barbecue chain) and it's nothing close to this. Smaller portions of worse food. If you are looking at reviews, stop reading and come here, this is the place.
John P — Google review
Are you looking for delicious smoked beef brisket? How about pork, or turkey? And do you enjoy the meat sweats? Yes? Then the Palomino Smokehouse is a definite must try for you. Palomino is located along the C-Train tracks in downtown Calgary. Having been around for more than 20 years, it’s an institution when it comes to mouthwatering barbecue, lively atmosphere, and vibrant live music scene. The experience is casual / rustic and not much for frills. As the name eludes, they specialize in slow-smoked meats. The ingredients all seemed to be high quality (according to the semi-pro meat smoking team members I had lunch with) and the portions were enormous. Of the 6 people at our table that ordered the full pound of brisket, only one managed to eat more than half! Not just brisket either, you can get pulled pork, ribs, turkey and a variety of other smoked delicacies including jackfruit … whatever that is. The side dishes are equally as delicious including the bacon wrapped corn on the cob which I would suggest getting a double order of. The lower level seems to be set up for live music performances and more of a bar atmosphere. Haven’t been here outside lunch so can’t comment on what that would be like but I hear they have some pretty epic Stampede events. I highly recommend Palomino for lunch and to kick-off the afternoon nap under your desk at work!

Definitely grabs your attention and leaves an impression right when you walk in. I love the decor in there. I didn't have a chance to grab anything to eat but it definitely smells good and people were enjoying their meals. The entrance to this place is right off of 7th Avenue between 1st Street West towards city Hall. Great place to come and have some lunch or dinner and a few frosty ones. Down in the basement there's another huge space that has live music on the weekends. Overall great vibes I'm glad that I walked in today.

I was last here in 2018 and we had such a great experience when I was back this week with a different group I suggested we had to go here. Unfortunately the quality has declined. Two people in my group found their meal was only lukewarm and my brisket was a bit dry. It was still fairly good, but nowhere near the quality from a few years ago. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere is causal, comfortable and rustic. Photos compare the meal from now (red checks) to 2018.

Our server, Amy, was amazing. She was so quick and knowledgeable. She helped us decide on our choices and made recommendations. For a bbq place they have some very unique options. Will definitely eat here again. Food and service excellent.

We hired a local guide to walk us around Calgary through tours by locals. When we were done she recommended this place for lunch. The food was very good and the service very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was basically a bar but not that bad. The pulled pork sandwich was very good.

Went for lunch on a weekday with our toddler. Brisket: mediocre, but tasted better with sauce (ketchup, smoked mustard, plus three different BBQ sauces). Garlic fries: fantastic, definitely order these. Green beans: Good, would order again. Sweet tea: 10-12 oz, but half the size they are in the States. No highchairs or booster seats. No diaper change table. Very friendly staff, great service, open kitchen so you could see them prepping food. Shaded patio out back.

Ok, what to say! The best!! It's hard to find good bbq, let alone amazing bbq. This place is one of the best places I've had, the best, every time I eat here. My first time here was back in 2011, got hooked. I'm from Vancouver BC but every time I'm in Calgary, I have to eat here. Almost always get the Alberta cheese steak. It's my go-to. My wife had the pitt boss, slammin! My kid got the brisket sandwich. She destroyed it. Decor is awesome. Music fits the vibe. So, you got to try this place.

A great place to come with friends or solo. The staff are amazing. The food superb. Great indoors. Fantastic green house style all season patio. Summertime the 17th avenue extension It’s become a regular place for me for years. But I particularly enjoy happy hour. The wines are a lovely selection. I enjoy the rosè Today I had the summer salad. Honestly one of the nicest salads I’ve had. Layered with Avocado. Strawberries cucumber and butterleaf lettuce. The mussels are nicely done. Just the right amount of flavour in the broth. The pastas are always very tasty and done to perfection. Once you have been once or twice. You will be remembered and you will remember

Really loved the food - the fondue is always a standout here honestly. I think the risotto could be cooked a tad bit better ? Nothing that wrong with it but definitely a different taste and vibe from other risottos from restaurants of similar calibre (maybe it’s cause there were no mussels tonight due to shipment holiday delays). We also came on a VERY slow night so it was very quiet, which made the ambience so much better. I would definitely come again (hopefully when they have mussels for the risotto).

We had an incredible experience at The Living Room in Calgary! Our group tried almost everything on the menu, and every single dish was amazing—beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and crafted with care. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating, especially with our large group. They made us feel welcome and well taken care of the entire night. This is hands down one of Calgary’s best dining spots. Highly recommend! 🍽️👏

First time at this restaurant, and sat at the patio tables which was great. Tried the cheese fondue and beef tartare, which I’d say it was not too bad but not amazing. Service was also slow and took forever to get our wine. Our server was very apologetic so it seemed like it was out of his control. Overall, it was not bad!

I’ve been to Last Best many times and always have great food and service. The spicy chicken sandwich always slaps, as well as the smash burger. I got the beet salad this last time and it was pretty good, but I wish the beats were a bit more seasoned. Monday nights are Trivia and it is run very well with a gift card to Last Best for the winning team (when I was there at least). I have had Denise as a server many times, and she is always a sweet heart.

My friend and I went to happy hour for the first time. Since it was during Stampede, everywhere was busy — and this bar was no exception. But what really surprised me were the happy hour drink prices and the food! Especially the food! There weren’t a lot of options on the menu, but the portions were generous and everything tasted amazing.

What a lucky find! We were searching for a brewery near our hotel and stumbled upon this place just 150 meters away. We stayed at the Residence Inn. It was a no-brainer, and we were absolutely thrilled with our discovery! The beer selection was fantastic; my husband was a huge fan of their Tokyo Drift, and I particularly enjoyed the Hazy IPA. The atmosphere was spot-on – a great vibe with the music at a perfect volume. The food was also delicious. We shared the shrimp linguine (a little pricey and no garlic bread, but tasted good) and the beef birria nachos, this one was generously portioned and paired really well with their green goddess dip. And the cheesecake wrapped in phyllo pastry with a berry compote? Pure genius! It's a must-try. All the servers were friendly, but Jasmine was exceptional. She was awesome and gave us some great recommendations not just for their offerings at Last Best but also for exploring the Calgary area. We loved it so much, we actually came back the following night for another round of craft beers! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

I had an okay experience at Last Best. The biggest highlight was the lively atmosphere on a Thursday night – it was bustling, which added a fun vibe. The happy hour pricing was definitely a plus and made the visit worthwhile from a value standpoint. As for the food, it was just average. Nothing really stood out or wowed me, so if you're going for the culinary experience, you might be left a bit underwhelmed. Overall, it's a solid spot for drinks and a social evening, but don’t expect anything too memorable from the menu.

Great spot for casual drinks and bites. The beer selection is solid—lots of local brews and rotating taps to keep things interesting. We grabbed a few small plates (duck wings were a standout) and everything came out quick and tasty. The vibe is relaxed and a bit trendy, with cool decor and a nice patio when the weather’s good. Good place to hang out with friends or kick off a night out. Would definitely come back.

Gorgeous restaurant, great vibes for a relaxing night. The Cubano and Korean sandwiches are both flavour bombs. The cubano was the best cubano I've ever had including in Miami. Their electric avenue salad is well balanced, and offers a nice sweet, sour and savory profile. Service was fast and friendly, and they have some great beers.

"The Ship & Anchor" is a laid-back pub in Calgary that offers casual bar food, live music, and sports on TV. It's a favorite spot for the city's rock-and-roll crowd, featuring live soccer, punk rock bingo, and occasional DJ sets. The pub boasts an extensive selection of local and imported beers on tap and serves classic pub dishes like nachos and chicken wings.

Back in my day, living and working in Calgary this would be my go to place. Such a fun patio and great beer and food. What I liked about it the best was the outdoor seating during the summer where you would share a table with strangers and strike up a conversation that was the highlight for me. 👍😎

Dive/Pub with according food options. Poutine was not good - cheese was not melted, fries too salty. Chicken tenders too dry. Came here to watch hockey game, but disappointed how small the TVs were… also hidden in corners - impossible to watch sitting at the bar

First of all, happy hour is long, cheap and awesome! Second of all, lots of their menu items are gluten free and dairy free. Plus their menu is clearly marked. Special mention…the fish and chips, the calamari and the tuna pole bowl were top notch. Highly recommend. Worth knowing…..smoking happens within distance of the patio. Not great if you want to avoid smoke smell. Also worth knowing that the 17th Ave strip has lots of noise pollution from vehicles who love to rev up their engines to be cool. It’s really annoying and wrecks the atmosphere of the many great patios on the strip.

My favourite bar in Calgary- a welcoming and casual atmosphere, with great food and drink, staff that clearly love their job, and a clientele that love this place too. We had an unforgettable date night here! The bar is absolutely stunning, with floor-to-ceiling shelves creating a breathtaking backdrop. Definitely a good spot to check out with friends (get a reservation), and make sure you have a safe ride home because you’ll definitely want to have more than one!

Went here last Friday for the World Class event. Orlando (Melbourne) and Jeff (Vancouver) made up 6 cocktails for the night. I was lucky to try three of them. Two of the three were so good I would put them in top ten cocktails I’ve ever experienced. See images and the menu. Can’t wait to go back.

Pr%f of Proof is the place for cocktails in Calgary! Amazing staff, incredible talent behind the menu and bar, making crazy cool things and always pushing the envelope!! Come here for one or eleventeen drinks anytime. Try the “A Long Time Calling”, it is soooo good! Jeff, one of the owners is always on site and works the room like a ninja 🥷.

It's been named one of the top bars in North America, and it's easy to see why. All the cocktails were amazing and very well balanced 👌 the food was delicious! It's definitely a spot you have to check out if you're in Calgary!

This is one of the best cocktails bars I have ever been to. The array of liquors and menu of craft cocktails is extraordinary. And the staff is so good! We loved Sam, and Reece is simply the best! If you can get Reece as your bartender, you are guaranteed an excellent night!

quick, friendly, real deal bartenders, great spirit selection including awesome NA options that i really appreciated. good menu of zero proof drinks and the bartenders are more than happy to go off menu and experiment to get you something cool. good vibe in here, i can imagine its a great cozy spot in the winter to hide away from the weather. grab a seat at the bar and make a friend.

Nice 1st visit to Proof during a visit to Calgary. Made reservations for pre-dinner drinks and some snacks. Service was excellent as were the couple food items we tried. Cocktails are very creative. Will definitely be back to try out more of their offerings. Thanks!

Live music venue
Restaurant
The Blues Can is a renowned blues bar located in the heart of Inglewood, Calgary. This intimate venue offers nightly live performances by both local and international blues artists, creating an authentic and vibrant atmosphere for music lovers. In addition to its impressive music lineup, The Blues Can also serves up homestyle Southern cooking, featuring a delectable array of dishes such as po boy sandwiches, jambalaya, ribs, burgers, and blackened catfish.
Well, it looks like they pulled it off! A few months after being ignominiously kicked out of their Inglewood location, The Blues Can has re-opened in the North Hill, and although they've been open for less than a week, my recent visit left me very impressed. The building was never meant to be a performance venue (it was originally a White Spot restaurant if I remember correctly), and I admit when I first walked in, I was a little disconcerted to see that they had apparently just curtained off one corner of the joint to act as a stage. But when the band took the stage, it immediately became clear that management & staff knew what they were doing. The sound was clear, the levels were appropriate and balanced, and it was overall a great musical experience. The way they'd arranged the tables meant that there appeared to be great sightlines from almost anywhere in the house (except maybe the booths along the walls) and there's even room for a small dance floor in front of the band. The New Orleans-inspired food was good, the service was friendly, they have local beer on tap, and even the washrooms were well-maintained. If you're a fan of live music, check it out.

A good spot to check out for local live music. The vibe is super chill and casual — perfect for a laid-back night out. It’s an awesome venue for supporting local talent and bringing music lovers together. Definitely a hidden gem in the city’s live music scene.

Went for an evening jam at this newly opened venue at this new location. Loved listening to Tom Phillips and his band. We did not eat but the menu and the food coming out looked amazing and not too expensive. Caesar's hit the spot. This place apparently was an Irish bar called Tipperary's so if not sure where it is just look for the old sign, which I imagine will disappear eventually. Hopefully on this trip I will be able to go again.

Had a great time. Went in on a Wednesday for their wing night. Ordered 2 portions cause I assumed they would be similar to other places, (small sad sized wings) but was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't even finish the wings. Had a great server, Deicha. Great knowledge of menu and a joy to chat with. I will definitely go back and try other menu items.

A hidden GEM in an awesome city. DO NOT MISS THIS in Calgary. Incredible staff with great hospitality. Tina is AMAZING - her attention to customer service & detail is evident in this world class entertainment venue where they make you feel like family. Great hospitality and food (even a visit to our table from the chef) and the music was incredible - Shaye Zadravec, Tom Phillips and their bands, plus Paul Kype & Texas Flood! Wish we could have gone every night of our stay! We made friends and memories there and can't wait to go back!

We were there on Sunday after 2pm just in time for a lovely Blues jam set with various musicians. Amazing performers. Had Cajun food for dinner. Really good. Waitress was super friendly, prompt and super amazing server.
Marianne W — Google review
The new location is much larger than the previous location. The parking area is limited under the building. It's not easy for a full-size truck . The staff were very friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, they haven't worked out all the bugs yet when it comes to getting your order correct. Drinks arrive in a decent amount of time. Any food items took over an hour to get. They should have built the stage along the wall facing the main bar. A corner stage never plays to the room properly. It's still nice to see the blues can back open again 💙
Sally R — Google review
What a great place to go for feel good food and awesome entertainment. Depending on what day you go the entertainment is varied from blues to 70’s and 80’s live music usually starts around 8 pm but we go earlier to get a good seat.

Garage Sports Bar: A Million-Star Experience! From the moment you step into Garage Sports Bar, you know you're in for a great time. The atmosphere is buzzing with energy – a perfect blend of a classic sports bar and a lively social hub. Multiple screens strategically placed throughout the venue ensure you won't miss a single play, no matter where you're seated. And the best part? They happily take requests for sports! Whether you're a die-hard hockey fan or follow international soccer, just ask, and they'll do their best to tune it in. Beyond the screens, Garage Sports Bar offers more than just spectating. The presence of a pool table and table tennis adds an interactive element, making it a fantastic spot to hang out with friends and engage in some friendly competition during halftime or after the game. But let's talk about the food – it's genuinely great! The menu offers a solid selection of pub fare done right. In the photo, you can see a tempting basket of pretzel bites served warm and perfectly salted, accompanied by a creamy, delicious cheese dip. This is just a glimpse of the satisfying options available to fuel your cheering. From hearty burgers to tasty wings, the kitchen delivers quality that elevates the typical sports bar experience. However, what truly sets Garage Sports Bar apart is the service. Describing it as "million-star" doesn't feel like an exaggeration. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. They're quick to take your orders, offer recommendations, and ensure your glass is never empty. The willingness to accommodate requests for sports channels is a testament to their commitment to customer satisfaction. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and has a fantastic time. Overall, Garage Sports Bar is a winner. It hits all the right notes with its vibrant atmosphere, delicious food, and truly exceptional service. Whether you're there to catch a game, challenge your friends to a round of pool, or simply enjoy a great night out, Garage Sports Bar is a top-notch choice. Highly recommended!

Great place with awesome staff. People are supper friendly. The staff is super polite and always curious to make sure you always have a drink in hand, I like that. The onion rings are a must try, perfectly made.. Goes good with a whiskey

The restaurant just moved to this new place. Their signboard is not even up yet. We had the backfire bbq pork ribs which were good. We also had the honey garlic wings which were a tad too sweet but complement with the bbq ribs well. There are pillar tables too.

The drinks here are nice and I love all the activities that you can do here. The food is not bad, but not amazing. There are many pool tables, 2 of them are $1 per game and the rest is $14 per hour. Which is not bad if you plan on playing for a while. There is also a ping pong table, foosball table, and arcade games as well. Lots of seating and I’m sure it gets pretty packed at times, although we went pretty early to play pool, so it was nice.

At Garage Sports Bar, we were thrilled to discover their dog-friendly patio, which was perfect for our furry companion. We ordered burgers, chicken quesadillas, chicken tenders, and poutine, and they all exceeded our expectations in taste. Additionally, the bar offers billiards and VLTs, making it a fantastic spot to enjoy with friends. While parking proved to be a bit challenging, the swift service and minimal wait for our delectable food made the overall experience truly enjoyable.

Bull & Finch Bridlewood Pub Restaurant is a laid-back pub that offers a menu featuring cocktails, brews, and classic comfort food. Customers have praised the establishment for its fresh fries, generous portions, and dedication to customer satisfaction. Despite the challenges of COVID-19 restrictions, patrons have enjoyed the opportunity to dine on the patio and have appreciated the quick and friendly service. The Friday special Fish & Chips and Chess-Burger are particularly recommended dishes.
I was new to the neighbourhood and decided to take an evening stroll in June. Found this place and stopped to check it out. First impression was the lightings and cozy feeling. Got a booth and a bud light. I cannot wait for the next NBA season so I can enjoy games on the multi-screens. Services was great and friendly staff. The menu options for food are a lot; I love it . I plan to make this my regular stop.

This is a really great place in our family neighborhood. The food is great. The people around you are great. I highly recommend going here during a hockey game. Very very fun. Thank you for being our great neighborhood pub that we can go to and relax. Mediocre is all, which in today's market, that's not good enough. We went after ball, a group of us. Service was so so, she got the orders eventually, but then she disappeared. Wings, I do not recommend, if they were any smaller, it would not be a chicken. The kitchen deep fries them way way too long. When I got them they were hard and meat was all fried up. Returned them and exchanged for meatballs. Well they were the small little frozen ones that they get from GFS. You have a good kitchen, why not make home made ones? My group felt the same way. Would I go back, maybe, maybe not.

What a gem of a spot. Super underrated happy hour spot with fabulously crafted cocktails. Very fresh and perfectly balanced and some very unique combinations. We had the Korean chicken wings and they were phenomenal, perfect crunch to sauce ratio. We also had the salmon from large plates as recommended by our server, Vern, and were blown away by the flavours of the dish. The service was top notch, attentive, friendly, and all the recommendations were spot on what we were looking for. We loved the decor and the vibe here in general. Great spot! Will be back.

We had an incredible experience at Orchard! The vibe and decor are absolutely stunning, such a warm and elegant atmosphere. The service was top-notch from start to finish, and they even surprised us with complimentary champagne for our anniversary, which made the evening extra special. The drinks were excellent, and the food was just outstanding. The halibut was hands down the best dish of the night! Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything from the presentation to the flavors exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this spot for a special occasion or just a great night out. We'll definitely be coming back!

From the moment we stepped inside, we felt welcomed by a cozy lounge area with plush seating that set the tone for a relaxed evening. After passing the stylish bar, we entered the main dining hall, where grand décor, soaring ceilings, and a mix of lush hanging plants and elegant chandeliers created a stunning atmosphere. The lighting was softly dimmed, adding a romantic touch that made the whole experience feel special. Service was attentive and thoughtful throughout, and both the food and drinks were genuinely outstanding. We had a wonderful time—definitely a place makes our trip in Calgary memorable.

The Resturant was highly recommend by a friend, so we went. We were forgotten by our waitress and we had to flag down the hostess to get a waitress, whom promptly came and offered us complimentary desert for the mishap which was greatly appreciated. We order the eggplant app and the Korean chicken wings, both which are amazing. For the mains, we got the lamb and the halibut. The lamb was awesome but the halibut had a very strong fishy smell and taste and was very salty. The complimentary desert was also fantastic. Yes, I would go back next time but would not order the halibut again,

When I came I didn't have a good impression but overall it's very good. The waiter is excellent I had a Sangria and ultimately a Gamay wine not easy to find very good. The tomatoes salad was excellent and the shakshuka was good even so it didn't bring me back to Felfela in Cairo they replaced the minced meat with tofu not quite the same but the sourdough bread somehow was good even so it does not replace as well the baladi bread of Egypt. But I would say that the experience is very good overall I would come back. 5 star plus for the service and the atmosphere. Vern did an excellent job one of the best in town.

Great restaurant with a posh jungle vibe. (Complete with chandeliers and vines.) The ambiance was dim and cozy. Food was flavorful and enjoyable. Service was good, though I did find myself wishing that they'd smile. I didnt try the washroom so can't comment on that. Based on all the positives, I would return here again.

Y Not Today Bingsu & Bubble tea is a new dessert spot located conveniently on McLeod, just a few minutes' drive from downtown. The atmosphere is bright, inviting, and very clean with a spacious seating area. What sets this place apart is the availability of tactile puzzle games for free, ranging from easy to hard. It's a great spot for a quick snack or drink, especially on hot days with desserts priced around $10.
Love this spot! The bubble tea here is super tasty — easily some of the best I’ve had in Calgary. On top of that, they’ve got so many board games to choose from, which makes it way more fun than just grabbing a drink and leaving. You can chill with friends, play games, and even join in on their events and puzzles if you’re up for something different. My friend also got a fusion bingsu, very tasty and beautiful. It’s such a good vibe, and a perfect place to hang out and meet new people.

This is such a great bubble tea and bingsu cafe in Calgary — I absolutely love it! The drinks are always fresh and delicious, and the bingsu is perfect for sharing with friends. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the atmosphere. They don’t just serve great treats; they also host fun events and have a big selection of puzzles and board games. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, meet new people, and spend hours without even noticing the time go by. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city!
Tùng T — Google review
The shop offers excellent bubble tea with a wide variety of options on the menu. We decided to visit after reading the great reviews—and it was definitely worth it! The tea is fresh, the flavors are delicious, and the pearls have the perfect texture. You can also customize your drink—whether it's a milk tea, ade, smoothie, or iced tea. They also serve Bingsu, a Korean-style shaved ice dessert, which is a must-try! What makes this place truly special is the collection of board games and puzzles, creating a fun and relaxing atmosphere. It's a perfect spot to hang out, share desserts, host small events, or even celebrate a birthday with friends and family.

This board game café has the best bubble tea and an awesome variety of games to enjoy. The staff are super kind and make you feel right at home. We especially love their board game nights on Wednesdays and Saturdays—it’s a great way to meet new people and have fun. The weekend art events are also a nice touch that makes the space extra special. Definitely one of our favorite spots, highly recommend!

We are glad to find out this perfect hidden gem! Their bubble tea is super refreshing—especially the signature Life of Pi! I loved the cozy space with free board games, making it a great place to chill with friends. The desserts are next-level, and the Injeolmi Bingsu is a must-try—light, fluffy, and so tasty. Everything feels thoughtfully crafted, from drinks to vibes. Highly recommended for bubble tea lovers looking for more than just a quick sip and play some games. Great service too!
Rei N — Google review
Y Not Today is my new happy place. Their bubble tea is always fresh, and I love how I can tweak it just the way I like. The Bingsu? So light and refreshing — perfect for hot days. But what makes it really special is the vibe. Free board games, puzzles, cozy corners... it’s the kind of spot where you lose track of time. I came for the drinks, but stayed for the good energy and good people. Can’t wait to go back!

Gay bar
Night club
Nestled in Calgary's Beltline district, Twisted Element is a vibrant and inclusive gay club that offers an array of weekly events. From karaoke nights to burlesque and variety shows with lively DJs, the venue exudes a hot mess of fun and enthusiasm. Embracing diversity, it stands out as one of the best gay bars in Calgary, providing an electric nightlife experience for all.
My first impression when we entered the place was lioe let's go somewhere else. But once the drag show started and more people arrived the place stared be more fun. The bartenders was super nice music also great. You have two options of music one on the main floor and the one in the basement. The only thing what scared me was the quality of the bathrooms, that could be better. Besides that fun place to visit, and definitely try sour drink. That drink was something else, seriously amazing drink.
Kamil D — Google review
I went here for a bachelorette party—and as someone visiting from Toronto who had never been to a drag show before, I have to say, I had an absolutely amazing time! The performers were incredible, and the energy in the venue was fantastic. Everyone was just having fun and enjoying the show. The bartenders were super friendly and added to the great atmosphere. I also really appreciated the coat check system—it was so efficient! You enter your cell number on an iPad, and they quickly retrieve your jacket. Such a smart and modern setup. There were different sections throughout the venue for dancing, and I found the basement level especially enjoyable—it was a bit cooler and less crowded than upstairs. If I ever visit Calgary again, I would definitely come back. Such a fun and memorable experience!
Marie C — Google review
I don’t think I’ve ever given a rating to a club before but I couldn’t not. First of all I love how they had seats for the drag show and the entertainment and the way they engaged the crowd and giving shots that was so fun. One of my highlighted memories for sure. I haven’t been out in a while but I’ll definitely be going back thank you for an awesome time. Only thing is the club gets so hot :(
Alyssa M — Google review
I’ve been coming to Twisted Element since I was 18. I’m 34 now. Back then, it was fun and had a unique soft drag-bar aesthetic downstairs—chandeliers, seating, and an inviting, comfortable vibe of a welcoming gay bar. Sadly, the atmosphere has shifted a lot, and not for the better. Now it feels more grungy and dungeon-like. The chain decor and terrible flashing LED lights that replaced the chandeliers seem to be have installed for Halloween party and never taken down. The bathrooms are in HORRENDOUS condition—broken fixtures, flimsy stalls, awful sewer smells, and harsh after-2am-style lighting that makes the whole experience unpleasant and sobers you up and has you questioning why you are there. They desperately need a full renovation. Upstairs, things aren’t much better. The DJ has seen better days, the floors are sticky, and service at the upstairs bar is very poor. I was even served a flat drink right out of the bottle, and when I politely mentioned it, I got attitude instead of a fix. The pool tables are fine, everything is sectioned off to make it feel busier than it is. The culture and energy of the place just isn’t what it used to be. Unless changes are made soon, I worry what’s going to happen to this venue. I just want it to get back to the Twisted vibe we all knew and loved. I’d have no problem coming back time after time if it was improved. I will say, the patio was nice addition option during pride.

These folks definitely deserve the love and praise the community brings to it. My drink was on point handmade pretty fast. I can definitely see why so many people told me I should definitely check this out before I leave Calgary. The Duel DJs gave variety to each dance floor

Had an incredible night at Twisted Element! The energy, the music, and the vibe were all spot-on. The DJ kept the floor alive, especially with that Hottogo/YMCA mashup – pure bliss! The staff was friendly and kept everything moving smoothly. Just wish the night didn’t have to end. On a side note, I want to shout out to a couple of stars who made the night even better. Gerardo (dressed all in black with a love of tequila and a great beat), your Latin energy and hypnotic dance moves were magnetic! And Aaron (orange shirt and black folding fan), you were the ultimate wingman with that cooling fan – an absolute lifesaver on the dance floor. To both of you, thanks for making it an unforgettable night. Can’t wait to do it again! Highly recommend checking this place out the next time you're in YYC!

The Palace Theatre, originally a silent movie palace and pioneering radio broadcast site, has transformed over the years. After being converted into a sports bar and hockey hub in 2007, it was renamed back to The Palace Theatre in 2017. Renovated to become one of Canada's most famous theaters, it hosts a variety of events including concerts, seminars, and corporate gatherings.
It's a great concert venue. I've never been there before but enjoyed it very much. The people were amazing and the sound as well. Great Bands for the evening

Cool venue with decent sound. The few seating options don't offer much for a view once everyone else crowds in, so it's virtually all standing room. Really poor drink selection too, unless you're into Coors and Vizzys. But that's pretty expected from a nightclub setup.

Amazing venue for authentic, intimate and memorable shows. The venue is set up so that you feel close and involved with the artists no matter where you are. Bars are close and accessible which is a definite perk.

I’ve attended two shows at The Palace in the past couple of weeks, and it’s quickly become my favorite venue in Calgary. I primarily go for metal shows, and I love the size and layout of the place. You get a great view of the stage and the pit without having to be right in the thick of it. The security staff here is impressive, well-staffed to monitor the crowd, and they work tirelessly to catch the constant flow of crowd surfers. During a recent show, I had a few drinks, and bartender Justin was both friendly and efficient. Plus, with three bars open on the main level, it’s super convenient no matter where you’re standing.

I was here for Maddix’s show, there was security outside, very kind and polite. Inside, the sound was good and powerful, but there was a big problem, the drugs. Drugs were everywhere, cocaine, mdma etc and for someone who’s not taking drugs, this made me uncomfortable. Security said that drugs are forbidden inside but everyone had some. Furthermore, the drinks were so tap, we didn’t even tasted the alcohol inside.

a really great place for a concert! it’s super central and despite the line being super long (it wrapped around the buildings and about two blocks down), the staff got though every quickly! the inside vibes were great, and you can see the artist from literally almost anywhere inside 👍🏼

Great vibe, came here for a show I wasn’t familiar with but the sound and the lights it’s all so good. Bartender was so lovely and second round he remembered and we didn’t need to repeat shit, or third round etc lol, which is great when the music is loud. Thank you Tommy! What a bomb venue for a show I will be back.

Boo of the North tour came to Calgary!! I was not going to miss it for the world, & I was not disappointed with the performance!! I was disappointed with the organisers though, who sold VIP tickets to the mezzanine which I bought, but ended up standing throughout the show with poor line of sight for the stage, unless I stood on the steps (a fire hazard)- which is what myself & my wife ended up having to do. Not a VIP experience by any stretch of the imagination!!

The establishment boasts the city's largest climate-controlled rooftop patio, making it an ideal spot for year-round outdoor dining.
Had a fantastic time at YYC Rooftop! The views were amazing, and the vibe was perfect for a lunch out. Abby was our server and she was absolutely great — super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for good drinks, great atmosphere, and top-notch service!

This restaurant was so cool. Love the ambience with all the flowers and art. Delicious pizza. I don't think this place is meant for kiddos typically but my server was very accommodating for my baby and I during our visit!

Here to contribute more to what people are saying. This place is dope! I’ll absolutely be back! I got the Salmon and it was nothing short of absolutely incredible. You can really tell whoever is in the kitchen knows very well what they’re doing. The potatoes that came with the meal were crispy on the outside but soft and crumbled on every bite in your mouth. And the sauce was 10/10. I also got a dessert, and they voluntarily wrote happy birthday for me as well as sang to me! This place is awesome. I can’t recommend it enough. With the salmon, beer, and snickerdoodle dessert, I paid $60 tip included for the entire meal. 5 stars easily
Lawrence C — Google review
Food and service are better than it has any reason to be for an environment with a gimmick like this. Order the steak rare for medium rare, Pizza has a surprisingly great crust. Chocolate brownie is a bit too sweet with not enough salt or anything to contrast. Not awful, but the brownie is sweet, the frosting is sweet, the ice cream is sweet. There isn't any contrast here.

Huge shoutout to Winston for being such a great help — super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a good time in the city!

High recommended to visit. Neat vibes, amazing food, and we had a great server Daryna. For food we had the mexi-corn dip and the short rib tacos and both were amazing. The drinks were also super fun and delicious.

Randomly came across this place while walking around downtown and decided to stop in around 3pm for a quick appetizer. It was surprisingly busy for that time of day! We tried the poke nachos, and they were really tasty. The place has a great vibe for group events or parties, and the prices are about the same as Earls or Cactus Club Cafe.

Modern Love is a vibrant vegan dance bar in Calgary that has taken over the space of the former Broken City. This lively venue hosts regular live music events and offers a rooftop patio where guests can enjoy delicious vegan eats and cocktails from April to Thanksgiving. The menu features a variety of plant-based options, including cauliflower wings, fries, tacos, burgers, and fish and chips.
Holy cow the burger I ordered was beyond delicious. Two perfectly seasoned smash patties surrounded by the softest, fluffiest brioche bun... feels like my cold, dead soul being surrounded by a comforting electric blanket... Not sure if this burger "The Hasselhoff" is a regular menu item as it looks like i popped in during a transitional menu period... but i hope they keep it. Band was great too! Had to flag the staff a couple times to get another drink. Will definitely come again.

Came here just after opening on a rainy day to do some work. Power outlets everywhere! Great specials as well. I had nachos with pico de gayo and it was awesome. Ewan provided awesome service and is a great conversationalist as well; give that guy a raise! Keep rockin!
Rob M — Google review
Went to Modern Love last night to see an acoustic rock concert. The bass from the EDM playing on their patio upstairs was very distracting and annoying considering it took away from the experience we paid for. The artists mentioned speaking to the management, but nothing was done. Shame. No food was served and the bar had very limited drink options, with more than half the canned beverage options being sold out halfway through the night. Also, the smoke detector was covered with a Ziploc and duct tape. Not sure that passes code for a busy establishment with a couple hundred patrons. This place doesn't hold a candle to the old Broken City.
Matt P — Google review
The toonie Tuesday hamburger has paper-thin patty. Looks sad and a pity to eat. Then they overcharge you on the side dishes, and finally gouge you by claiming their receipt machine doesn’t print. Passing by a burger place next door afterwards, and you realize you could have had a decent burger by paying the same price. This completes the whole bad experience at Modern Love.
Simon C — Google review
Visited early July and found the team that work there welcoming and friendly. A gig was on that I didn’t know about beforehand. This was well attended with a great atmosphere. Would definitely go back, although do my homework next time so I know who’s playing!

I would give this place a 2.5. I have been to this place twice and I am not too impressed. Here are the pros and cons of this restaurant I love the concept of this place where everyone is welcome and that there is something there for those who have dietary restrictions. This is always a plus. The décor is arty, edgy, and yet it is rustic at the same time. It is a good place if you are looking for some live music and good times. Then there is the food. I food and drinks are very good. I enjoyed the vegan breakfast and cider that I had in this place. Many people have reservations about vegan food, thinking that it can't taste good. I'm happy to report that this food did taste good. It was warm, savoury, and had a homey feel to it after you ate it. Now here comes the bad points. The service was absolutely terrible! They got my drink order wrong twice and I had to wait 20 minutes for that alone. I ordered my meal when I finally got my drink and that took another hour for me to get it. I told my server that I still haven't gotten my food and that I was really hungry. He was good enough to check but that still took at least 5-10 minutes for him to get back to me. I understand that people get busy, are overwhelmed, and understaffed but this was ridiculous. You guys really need to step up on that because your patrons do not deserve to be that hungry for that long. On top of that, they did not offer me a discount or pay for my meal to show that they were remorseful for this service. It's not right to make a person wait so long for something that should only take 20 minutes tops. Please fix this.
Erika R — Google review
I went to Modern Love with some friends for a night out and the bar service was terrible. The guy wearing the “Marshall” jersey was rude and dismissive. Ignored me completely. Just very rude and ignorant. The DJs were also incredibly rude (bleached blond guy) that was upstairs was ignorant and wouldn’t even look at me. Same with the DJ that was later downstairs. Not sure why they had such attitudes. Probably would not go back.

Super small venue but it was actually really nice! Came here to see a couple of punk bands and didn't know what to expect after reading the reviews. Yes, it's small. If sitting is important to you during a show then just come early. Food was decent, no complaints. A little disappointed in the cost of a soda - $3 seems ridiculous when it's full of ice and you get 3 sips ... And no free refills. We are sober so ordering booze is a no-no for us..would be nice for a more affordable option when we go out to shows at pubs.

Aussie Rules Piano Bar is an interactive and lively spot located within the Jubilations Dinner Theatre Complex. The bar offers a casual atmosphere where patrons can request songs and sing along with talented pianists, creating a fun and engaging experience. While the piano players excel at performing collaborative versions of popular songs from various eras, some guests have noted that contemporary song requests may not always be accommodated.
Our large group was accommodated effortlessly and seated close together! Service & communication during the booking and the evening were seamless! Bar food was excellent & catered to several dietary needs. Loved the Piano Shooter Bar and we danced the night away to the amazing talented musicians! Definitely will come back & excited to try out some new events in the future!

I went to Aussie Rules Piano Bar for a work party with my company, Guns and Hoses, and I don’t think we could’ve picked a better place! From the moment we walked in, the energy was just awesome—live music, people singing at the top of their lungs, and just an all-around great vibe. It didn’t take long before our whole group was into it, belting out songs and laughing nonstop. The staff was incredible, super friendly, and on top of everything, even with our big (and probably a little rowdy) group. And let me tell you, the tower beers are the move—these things are HUGE, and they made the perfect centerpiece for our table. Great deal, great drinks, and made it so easy to keep the good times rolling without constantly ordering refills. Honestly, if you’re planning a night out—especially with a big group—this is THE spot. We had an absolute blast, and I already know we’ll be back. Aussie Rules, for real
Mannaz — Google review
This was my 1st time going to Aussie Rules. I was excited to experience it with my friends on a Friday night. Unfortunately, it feels like it's best days are behind it. Loads of drink options as it seems they want to get you drunk on cheap liquor. Which may work for the 20 yr olds but the piano players were 2 old dudes that made a mockery out of every song. Songs that are for old people. 1/3 full. Food is gross.
Marni H — Google review
I anticipated a certain amount of fun when I walked into Aussie Rules last night. I left with more than just a lingering experience. The night began with trivia, as the host's "EVIL" voice mixed talent along with humor to establish the tone. Subsequently, the precise call came: "Aussie Aussie Aussie!" OI OI OI! The entire room roared back. After that, we were part of something. We were not just an audience. The pianists were greatly entrancing, and they were quite skilled. Their dedication to requests was absolutely unmatched, their energy never wavered, and their vocal range truly stunned. They played songs they knew and learned some they didn’t, so everyone would have something to remember. The connection stood out most. The music was not the only thing. The staff really made it personal. The musicians met people to show appreciation for those who showed up. If it is your birthday, what happens? Be ready. Everyone at the bar is guaranteed to watch your... "defining features." Aussie Rules is greater than only a dueling piano bar. The night will remain a topic of discussion for many hours after the music stops.

Went there for company Christmas party. The atmosphere is really nice, the performers will take in request for song. The staff are very friendly! The food are alright but as expected for buffet style. Will recommend for anyone who enjoy dining and performance same time.

The food was ok, I kinda expected better for bar food. I was extremely disappointed about how disorganized the front of house was. 5 people were split into two tables that were originally reserved. They then tried to sit with other people at the second reserved table. The servers and the bussers were wonderful and on top of it with how packed it was. I appreciated how on top of the people they were. The show was exceptional. However, due to the lack of organization the front of the house, we almost left prior to the show. The show, our servers, and bussers are the reason that I'm giving it 3 stars at all. The front of house needs better organizational skills.

We recently had our daughter’s wedding at the Magnolia Banquet Hall. Just wanted to say that everything from start to finish was first class. We asked Jimmy (Manager/Event Co-ordinator) to do “family style” meal – this is where all the food is served on each table. As we wanted an Indian catering menu, mixed with some Arab style food, this was not an easy request – especially with 350 guests! We had a few meetings with Jimmy before the event and he took care of everything from the timing, catering and to coordinating with the decorators. Our decorators had great cooperation from Jimmy and his team, and when we arrived at the hall before the wedding started, everything looked amazing. We also liaised with the DJ – who was great to work with and was very experienced. The food turned out even better than it was at the food tasting. So many of our guests complimented us on how great the food was, and how much they loved the hot appetizer station during the cocktail hour (see photos.) The kitchen timed everything exactly to our agenda and as soon as the speeches were complete, the food was being served on the tables. This was the first time that Jimmy had done “family style” service and it was truly amazing and beyond our expectations. The food arrived hot at each table and it looked like there was 1 server for every 2 tables. The food arrived promptly, and our guests were very impressed with this service. (It sure beats lining up at a buffet station, especially for 350 people.) All of our guests were impressed, and we were extremely happy that we used the Magnolia Hall for our daughters wedding. I would recommend them in a heart beat. Thank you to Jimmy and his amazing team.

A solid dive bar. This spot is your classic neighborhood bar. 3 pool tables for $2. Plenty of tv playing sports and a stage. They also have some slot machines. Good vibes. Cant go wrong.

The stage was the most amazing part of this facility. We were there for my son’s rock band concert performance. Loved the lighting, sound on stage. I understand they were busy but the attitude of our server was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. She appeared to be either hated her job or just didn’t have it together at all and didn’t know how to communicate with a professional manner other than showing her frustrations. We were hungry with young kids and when asked, she told us she wasn’t taking any orders for food at that moment and then we didn’t see her for another 40 minutes or so. The coffee she brought us was not drinkable. Watered down lukewarm warm drink. We have asked for few menus and when she finally brought them it felt like we have asked her for a favour she wasn’t supposed to be doing. When I showed my frustration as she was impossible to speak to without her being frustrated, she returned and said, sorry once. We waited for foods for long time. She didn’t even go around the table to take the rest of our orders. Some other server finally just came around and took other of 7 members of our table. I went closer to the stage while my son was performing and finally after waiting for so long when food arrived and some of us were not at the table, my son told me that she wasn’t taking any not only frustrated but also told my som where is the person that got mad at me? I have watched other tables being served was getting cleared up. But we again never received the 3 take out boxes we asked for. We had to ask someone else. Overall, the experience was very unpleasant with the service. I hope they figure out number of employees to assign jobs to during a packed event like this. Unless there’s another show, we have to go, otherwise I will not go there. The food was pretty average which isn’t a big deal but this was a different level of service.

February 10, 2024 Live band BOKENTOYZ!!!! They have been around for years, and it was my first time seeing them. Their reputation lived up to the hype! Amazing!!!!!! 🎵🎙🎤🎶 Yummy food and drinks. Many items to choose from. This bar is nice and big and spacious. There's pool tables to play on, but on nights when popular bands play, the pool tables are moved to make way for more seating. The atmosphere was great. There were lots of happy lively people out to have a good time. Lots of staff on hand and although busy, there was just enough space to still move around. 🍻🍺 I'm definitely going back to see the live bands at this location. It's a large stage and ok dancing area. They book really good bands to play which is great! 😀 _____________________________________ January 26 & 27, 2023 Wonderful night at the brickwell tap house. Large spacious bar with friendly staff. very very unfortunate experience here. i called twice here, the first time i called was a week and a half before my birthday to verify that they were open late on my birthday (my birthday is a holiday) which they confirmed they were open their usual hours (12am) on my birthday. called again a week later to make my reservation for 15 people. i made my reservation a week in advance to the actual date we would arrive. however, once we arrived at the bar, the bartender had told us that whoever i spoke to on the phone did not even write my reservation in the book and that they were actually open until 8pm on my birthday. so whoever i spoke on the phone not only didn’t write my reservation in the book but also didn’t even actually check or lied that they were open until midnight on the holiday. the bartender offered to stay until 10pm but had a very bad attitude towards us and was extremely rude and unprofessional. really upsetting experience as i was very excited to check this place out and only heard good things about it.

I cannot say enough good things about this space and the team at The Baron. From the moment I reached out and even after our event Shae, Sarah and her team have been so highly organized, friendly, and supportive. I hosted our company awards gala at this space in February and was so happy with how everything turned out! The staff had everything organized ahead of time and were so easy to work with. We encountered some sound issues during our presentation which the staff helped out tremendously with. The food and drinks were lovely and our attendees loved how much parking was available! We’re excited to host our 2025 events with them!

We used The Baron as our wedding venue in April of this year, and cannot recommend them enough! The customer service during the wedding planning process, as well as on wedding day, was excellent. The whole team was prompt in responding to emails and phone calls, answering questions, and making accommodations for us as needed. We had to postpone our wedding twice over the course of 2 years due to Covid, and the venue staff did their best to work with us on moving things around. As a pregnant bride, the venue staff made accommodations for me as needed which were much appreciated. Everything was set up to our standards and photographed beautifully.

The Baron is an INCREDIBLE wedding venue that we used in August for our special day. I loved that the staff provided so many options for our day and allowed us to do a tasting of food before making a final decision on the menu. They were accommodating of all our extra needs and so attentive during the day. Everyone invited had compliments about how fabulous the venue looked and the food. The staff also helped my family take down decorations after the reception, which we were so grateful for. I would highly recommend this venue for ANY event!

The Baron YYC was a wonderful Event Venue to work with for our Wedding Reception back in October 2020. Working firstly with Ahmad and then Joy, their team are very organized and addressed all of our questions with time and thought. Pre-COVID since we started planning our wedding in 2019, it really helped a lot when they allowed myself and any of our other Wedding Vendors arrange a time to view the venue in preparation for our big day. During the time of the pandemic, they were very informative of their updates and adjustments they had to make due to COVID-19. Their protocol for health & safety of their staff as well as our guests was very thorough and we were able to follow it as closely as possible to still make our special day happen. Long story short, we are so very grateful for all the accommodations they were able to do for us especially during the pandemic. Food is great, we did the Buffet option; Bar is well equipped and loved the Rose suggestion for my "Her Drink"; Table Arrangements & Chairs available work great with the theme of the Venue; and ample space for parking onsite. It was a pleasure and ease to work with The Baron and would love to relive that day again! Sharing these memories captured by LCR Photography and can say that they are so beautiful to cherish despite all the nuances of the pandemic we are still facing - Thank you!

Arrival: The venue is to open at 10am, we arrived at 10am to get ready for the wedding we had that day but it was closed. As we all know, weddings follow tight timelines. We called, no answer, emailed, no answer. We were given no alternate phone number, we left voice mails but realized that we could see the phone ringing inside of the venue as all the lights were off so the VMs were pointless as there was no one there. Eventually an employee showed up at 10:15, 15 minutes late with no apology or explanation. When there is an event, a staff member should be there before they are open to the public, then should unlock the doors at the time they open to the public. Setup: The bridal suite wasn’t ready for our arrival and since the staff were late they ended up setting it up as we were getting ready there as well. We shouldn’t have to get ready while staff is setting up the room for us, this should be done in advance of our arrival. For the venue, The staff were supposed to setup the podium but didn’t and it took a guest speaking up. They could have better use of the space as it is small. Only one narrow walkway in the middle of the venue which meant guests and staff blocked each other when walking past. Food: The food was mostly good but had some flaws: the first batch of potatoes were undercooked, the second batch were raw- had zero potatoes on my plate that were cooked. The rest of the food was great though including the late snack poutine bar (highly recommend this!!) While the staff was on top of ensuring glassware/plates were cleaned up, they were a little bit to on top of it, grabbing something as soon as it was empty which lead to the staff blocking the view of speeches, as well as the bride and groom. My suggestion would be to go in stages (breaks between speeches for example) instead of every time they saw something empty at one table. If our arrival had been better, everything else would have been minuscule and not a big deal, but the bad start to the day made every small mistake larger.

The wedding ceremony took place at Waterfront Park on April 29th and left a lasting impression. The venue's stunning location, even in early Spring, promises to be even more magnificent during the summer season. Additionally, the rental of the location included comprehensive setup and takedown services. The exquisite flowers added to the overall beauty of the event. The staff demonstrated exceptional customer service by being responsive, accommodating, and genuinely caring about their clients' satisfaction.
Every time I think about this venue, it takes my breath away. From the first time my husband and I had our initial site visit in 2019 till when we had our traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony in 2021, I am still in awe that we had our special day here. We lucked out being one of the first couples be having their celebration at the venue under Simply Elegant management. I am forever grateful for Peter for making sure we had the perfect ceremony in the newly added tent, during the craziness of covid. Peter even made sure we were taken care of even before the ceremony with a surprise in our respective rooms we got ready in.

Beautiful Spot, Slightly Off on Service Timing Waterfront Park is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the views. The atmosphere is great, and overall, I had a really nice time. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I went to the bar at 5:28, and was asked to come back at 5:30. It felt a bit rigid considering it was just a 2-minute difference. Other than that, it was a great experience and I’d still recommend it!

I cannot recommend Waterfront Parks enough. Peter and Jade went well above and beyond, helping us plan a short notice wedding (we booked less than three months prior to the date in an effort to minimize covid related changes), navigating trying times, and providing unparalleled service. Jade is even pictures in our wedding photos adjusting my dress prior to walking down the isle, and Peter met us on the limo bus to help "hide" me from the guests prior to the service. They were like family throughout the process and I honestly don't think we would have pulled off the wedding of our dreams without them. The venue is stunning, location is ideal, the food was delicious (and catered to all sorts of weird dietary issues), and the decor was spot on. If you're thinking about booking waterfront parks with simply elegant, stop thinking and book it. You won't regret it!

Had an event at the tent here. Amazing venue, tons of parking, friendly staff. Only downside we had access to only two bathrooms which with 100 people wasn’t ideal but made it work.

Our son’s wedding was at the Waterfront Park Apr. 29th, it was absolutely amazing. The location is breathtaking even in early Spring, just imagine how stunning it will be in the summer…. Also included with the rental of the location is full set up and take down. The flowers were absolutely amazing. The staff from start to finish were so amazing, very responsive, very accommodating, and showed that they really care and want the best for their customers. I only added a picture of the brides bouquet as all of our other pictures have our guests in them, so sadly am not able to add any of the pictures to show how beautiful everything was set up for our son and now wife’s wedding day. The whole time there was magical. Everyone that attended was so impressed. Thank you

Please And Thanks is a casual spot in Calgary that offers a variety of delicious food options. The menu features items like Mac and Cheese Birria, pork belly bao, chum churum mango flavored drinks, taco Birria, and fish tacos. Customers have praised the friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as the great service. Some have mentioned that they wish the portion sizes were larger for the price.
The Beef Birria tacos were absolutely delicious!! Also liked the pork belly burger. Low key, casual spot perfect for a snack or a meal! Service was amazing! Will be back on Sundays for the Birria taco deal!
Anita — Google review
It’s fine. Not bad, not great. Tacos were about $14 after the discount (Monday, all day happy hour), which is ok for 3 tacos. I dined alone, and it was fairly quick, it was very quiet, only one other table. Service was fine, nothing exceptional, which put me off when the preset tipping options on the machine were 20% - 35% , it felt a little much for an average experience.
BB C — Google review
This place has had a lot of mixed ratings. However, when we stopped for a quick bite, we were most definitely surprised by how delicious the food was. We ordered the taco Birria and it wasn't just good, it was mouth-wateringly great! The staff was friendly and kind. She also told us that they have rotating chefs, which we thought may be the reason for mixed reviews. The only downside is the interior of the place. We felt like it wasn't well taken care of. If it wasn't for the interior of the restaurant, I'd give them a 5.
V A — Google review
Went in on Sunday to try some Birria Tacos, we also got the baos. Giving two stars because for a spot suppose to be known for the tacos, it definitely disappointed. My beef tacos were way to oily and the meat didn’t taste fresh, on the other side of the table where my friend got the Chicken tacos, it was way too dry! The Chicken baos stole the show which was super surprising. Service was great provided by our server Kristina, also the music playing was an absolute calming vibe! Another thing that I wanted to mention was the default tipping options, minimum is set at 20% as a first choice, which just didn’t sit right with me. I have been to 100’s of restaurants and I will always tip well when deserved but I have never seen the default set at a higher point like that. Rubbed me the wrong way and felt a little like extortion.
Brandon R — Google review
I have been following P&T since opening on Instagram as it's my go to to find new delicious places around. Me and my significant other finally tried here last Sunday. It made me a bit sad as the atmosphere was lacking, the restaurant only had 2 other people sitting in it and they were gone by time we finished, leaving us the only people left by 7pm. The washrooms are kind of creepy, and definitely need some work or more lighting - as with the rest of the restaurant. The server was great, attentive and all. The food - we got Nachos to start and they tasted good but honestly had 0 to little cheese on them. The pork we got on them was good. 70% of the Nachos were eaten with no cheese or topping. Leaving alot of this plate tasting dry. I got Beef Birria Tacos and the bf got Birria Raman. My Tacos were definitely okay, but I was saddened that the only option for a side was some tortilla chips. There is no other options for sides with your meals. The Tacos were 100% not enough. We did decide this was the best thing we ordered. The Birria Raman was a extremely small portion, if you were to compare it to other restaurants Raman portions. Me and the bf were still hungry after leaving which is saying alot because if you get appetizer, and 2 mains you should not be leaving hungry. Needless to say were a bit dissatisfied especially after seeing delicious food posted for months on social media, and I am kind of glad we went when it was happy hour because compared to portion size - unfortunately I don't think the full price would have been worth it. We got all 3 items including a tip for $40. I would consider visiting and giving a second chance again, but as it sits I don't think I'll be visiting anytime soon again.

Dropped in for lunch with a friend, decor was below average and it could definitely be better. I really enjoyed the decor from the previous restaurant. Server was good and attentive, food came out on time, it was busy so definitely understandable. The food itself, I purchased the Korean Fried Chicken Baos. Great presentation and tasted delicious, I was still hungry after, I should've gone for something heavier like the burger. The price point is a bit higher for what those were, but great nonetheless. My friend had the popcorn shrimp tacos, below average and the tortilla disintegrated, was very soggy. Overall 3/5. Might be back for drinks to see that side of the menu, but hope they spruce up the place and change up the food a bit.

The Beef Birria Tacos were so good, especially with the lime (chef’s suggestion). The Korean Fried Chicken Baos had the perfect amount of spice and were very crunchy!

We stopped by last minute for a quick bite and got fish tacos during happy hour on a Saturday. The tacos were pretty decent!! The service was great and the atmosphere was calm.

Bar
Honky Tonk Calgary is a saloon-style bar with a dedicated dance floor where you can enjoy Jitterbug, Honky Tonk, or two-step to live music. The venue offers country-themed cocktails, local craft beer, aged whiskeys, and rustic wood decor for an Old West feel. It's a popular spot with friendly staff and enough room to have fun while being busy enough to meet new people.
Line-up at next door bar was extremely long so friends and I decided to try this out. Busy enough that there were people to talk to and dance with, but still enough room to jump around and have fun. Staff was friendly and welcoming, including the bouncers who struck up a conversation. Will definitely go again next time I'm down town!

Cole the new bartender is an absolute GEM . We hosted my sisters 19th birthday there and it wasn’t busy at 830 so it was just our group ! The singer sang happy birthday to my sister. Cole kept the vibe going even if it wasnt super busy. Will definitely be back on a night hes working !

I walked in to Honky Tonk, really excited to check it out for stampede because I heard that an old friend who I was meeting found out it just opened. I tried to look it up, but nothing came up on Google so I thought it was secret and going to be cool. I was sadly disappointed. I made sure to have cash so I could buy friends drinks and food. there was no one to buy drinks for, nor do they sell food, it was dead, and they DONT ACCEPT CASH. My friend wanted to leave but I said we could use my credit card (which I hate doing). We ended up meeting the general manager and he looked like a deer in headlights. Music was supposed to start early but after sitting there for an hour, with no live music during stampede we finally decided to leave to go to an actual bar with live music and food. Would not return when I’m back in town. Poorly executed with a stale environment.

Space has potential but no one was there! Staff were friendly and fun on Halloween.

Went to this bar, cheaps drinks but sadly no food, and when we went out onto the dance floor the bartenders kept spraying water at the people on the dance floor as if it was like a champage shower…. People were getting soaking wet. Went up to the bartender to ask him to stop doing this because it was annoying, and kindly asked and he said that its just the vibe very rudely. Not only were people not appreciating to get wet he was extremely rude. WE ALL LEFT AFTER BEING THERE FOR 10 mins GO SOMEWHERE ELSE LIKE GRETA, NATIONAL OR CRAFT.

Tons of fun a Honky Tonk the other night. We had Ayla as our Bartender and she was just incredible. Great smile, super friendly and fast service.

Connect Four is the only attraction and you have to play on a bartop table. RIP short people. Also, since it is the only attraction, there are 8-10 guys hovering around waiting for a turn.
Cassidy C — Google review
0/10. Would not recommend. Worst place in Calgary if I’m being honest. Drinks had little to no alcohol and tasted like swamp. Weird people. Weird staff. Literally never going back.
