Dim sum restaurant
Silver Dragon Restaurant in Calgary has been a beloved fixture since 1966, offering authentic Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine. This family-owned establishment is renowned for its commitment to tradition and innovation, delivering unforgettable culinary delights. With over 200 dishes prepared by Hong Kong trained chefs, the restaurant offers an expansive daytime dim sum menu with nearly 100 dishes and a smaller yet equally delicious evening dim sum selection. The elegant interior decor adds a contemporary touch to the warm and welcoming ambiance of the venue.
We had a dim sum feast at Silver Dragon Restaurant in Calgary China Town and I highly recommend this restaurant to all looking for excellent and authentic Chinese Food and in our case Dim Sum! We came with a party of 6 and ordered a variety of dim sum and let me tell you Silver Dragon did not disappoint. We ordered several dim sum from their picture menu which was nice for us dim sum noobs and also got a recommendation from our wonderful waitress Janet. My son and I ordered hot tea which was excellent as well and I recommend to compliment your Chinese dinner. Ambiance is great as well and feels very Chinese, spacious and clean. Located right next to Bow River makes it great as you can go for a walk after a delicious feast here. 5 stars easily and two thumbs up for Silver Dragon Restaurant! Thank you. Xie xie.

An excellent place for Chinese banquet food in Calgary. Of note, their Peking duck is above average and particularly juicy inside while being crispy outside. Loved how there were enough pancakes to match the amount of duck given. Would highly recommend the Peking duck here. The fried Chinese sticky rice was also a delicious surprise tasting truly magnificent. All the other dishes were good too. A solid meal.

We arrived in Calgary after a few days in Canmore this morning. After checking into our hotel downtown, we explored Stephen Avenue Walk. Not being impressed with the restaurant choices there, we decided to have dim sum in Chinatown just steps from our hotel. A quick Google search led us to Silver Dragon. We were lucky to be able to scoot by the Sunday morning line at the restaurant because a table for 2 was more readily available. We felt being transported back in time as soon as we sat down when we saw dim sum carts being pushed around. I don’t think I can remember the last time I saw dim sum carts. Personally I’m not a fan of dim sum carts because you’d never know if the dishes you want are e er going to be served. I’d like to order what I’d like to have. The dishes we had were very respectable though: siu mai, octopus in curry sauce, rice rolls with prawns and rice rolls with Cantonese doughnuts. The only surprise was the bolo (pineapple) buns. Bolo buns are usually plain (from bakeries) or stuffed with BBQ pork (when served as a dim sum dish). The ones we had today had pineapple chunks in them and they were not very good. The crust was very good though. Bolo (pineapple) buns do not have pineapple chunks so please lose them. Service was also excellent. We didn’t see any rice rolls with Cantonese doughnuts being pushed around so we placed an order and our waiter was very eager to help.

If you’re looking for good dimsum, please skip this place. If you just want a meal to survive, then go ahead. The waiters speak Chinese and Cantonese, so we expected to be served some authentic dim sum. Sadly, we were utterly disappointed. Good quality Dim Sum is usually small and delicate, with meats finely chopped and dumpling skins translucent thin. The ones served here are unrefined and the skin of dumplings are thick and dense. The Xiao Long Bao is more like Da Long Bao, and the filling was like a tough chewy meatball. Good ones should be melt in your mouth soft. Egg tarts are my favourite and I thought you can’t go too wrong with a sweet pastry but the tart oh dear…was it made of graham crackers? It was like biting into a biscuit.

We were in Calgary for a week, exploring some of the top-reviewed restaurants the city has to offer. Sadly, Silver Dragon was a major letdown. We ordered the Silver Dragon Special Crispy Chicken expecting something flavorful and well-executed. Instead, we were served what looked and tasted like plain deep-fried chicken — absolutely drenched in grease, with zero seasoning or flavor. It was literally just oily chicken topped with a few shrimp crackers. No effort, no care, no taste. Worst part was waiting 30+ minutes to receive this item, and there were only 4 other people in the restaurant during the time we went.
Carlo C — Google review
Came in on a Friday just after the lunch time. Still quite a few tables. Service was very good. I think the food is winding down for the dim sum so we may not have the best they got to offer but what we have were fine. The shrimp toast was a little greasy. My wife likes the shrimp noodle. A solid 4 stars.
Richard L — Google review
We got here at 7:30 PM, and there was no wait. We got a 1/4 B.B.Q duck, egg fried rice, a small wonton soup, shrimp and pork dumplings, and mixed vegetables. Just look at the picture to see how good it is. The waitress is so nice. This is a good place for dinner.

In China town in downtown Calgary. Paid parking nearby and about 2 minute walk to restaurant. Food was delicious and fresh. A lot of dim sum items on the menu as well. Recommend to try!

Chinese restaurant
Central Grand Restaurant is a popular spot for dim sum, attracting both locals and out-of-towners. The classic dishes like shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, steamed ribs, sticky rice, deep-fried wontons, fried rice and noodles are all well-prepared and satisfying. The restaurant's old-school interior with walls adorned with hundreds of photos adds to its charm.
Central Grand Restaurant, a Cantonese restaurant full of history and character. What impressed me most is that they still use dim sum carts – such a rare and nostalgic touch. It’s so much better than just pointing at a menu and trying to imagine the dishes; here, you see the real look of each dim sum right in front of you, no guessing like a blind box. They also serve some authentic items that are hard to come by, like duck feet and chicken wrap, which made the experience even more special. Honestly, compared to the Chinese restaurants in Edmonton, this place feels like heaven. A must-visit if you love traditional Cantonese dim sum!
Patrick L — Google review
Very Good! We come here for dim sum very often—it's one of the few places that still has traditional dim sum carts, which we love. But my absolute favorite thing is the tofu dessert! Our family also comes here regularly for big family dinners. The service is fast and reliable, and they’re always happy to accommodate special requests to make sure we get exactly what we want. Everyone at the restaurant is so kind. We've been coming here for over twenty years, and it still feels like home.
Kitty P — Google review
We went there for Dim Sum. The shrimp dumplings were very fresh. My favorite dishes were the sticky rice, chicken feet and the taro bun. The class dim sum dishes are good. The vermicelli with duck meet cooked very good. Overall, it is a great place for the dim sum.
Joy L — Google review
I come here for dim sum pretty regularly for the last 35 years or so, their quality has been very consistently excellent. Also comes here for dinners and a wedding. They do the typical Cantonese style food very well. Even my nephew coming in from Guangzhou thought the food was good.
Chong X — Google review
I had heard for a long time that this restaurant still uses traditional push carts for dim sum, and today I finally got the chance to try it. The decor is truly that of a traditional Hong Kong tea house. Besides the two or three dim sum carts selling dishes, you can also order from a dim sum menu sheet. They offer many Hong Kong-style dim sum items that are rare in other Calgary tea houses, such as duck feet and tofu pudding. The food quality is quite good, though it hasn’t yet reached my personal ideal. Overall, my wife and I ordered eight dim sums this time, all of which met our expectations. We will definitely come back to try more next time.
Raybert K — Google review
It is on the 2nd floor of Top grocery store. The restaurant does not offer dim sum at dinner time. We ordered two dishes, one chicken and one fish tofu. Both come with big portion and taste good. I saw many customers speak Cantonese, looked like many are returning customers. After finish meal, they served fruit and traditional sweet red bean soup for free.
XINFENG H — Google review
A very surprising restaurant, firstly, the taste of the food was very surprising, full of flavor. Secondly, the entrance is full of photos of various stars and celebrities, and my favorite Hong Kong actor, Tony Leung Ka Fai, even has two photos!
Derek — Google review
My favourite dim sum restaurant! It’s pretty much the dim sum restaurant I grow up with in the 80s. The dim sum carts are nostalgic. They have the variety of traditional dim sum that is hard to find these days. I love the big “Siu Mai” !

Dim sum restaurant
Restaurant
Bill's Peking House is a longstanding Chinese restaurant in Calgary, serving authentic dim sum and a menu of familiar Chinese dishes since 1988. Despite expanding to four new branches, the restaurant maintains its high standards with experienced staff who have been with the business from the beginning.
The staff here are exceptionally courteous. While they mentioned that they had the time to accommodate various requests due to a lighter workload, their genuine warmth and attentiveness seem to be a natural part of their service. I ordered two noodle dishes, a fried rice, and a refreshing, brothy dish—all of which were delicious. The prices are quite reasonable, and as an added bonus, writing a Google review allows you to enjoy a complimentary item of your choice: a soft drink, tea, or spring rolls.
Jay — Google review
Great in that their Peking duck comes with enough pancakes to match how much duck you get as most places give you too few pancakes. Great portions and good Chinese food. The salted egg yolk shrimp and Hainanese chicken are solid. Their red bean soup is delicious too. Great for group dinners.
Munchica — Google review
Bills serves consistently fresh, flavorful dishes with great texture and balance. Highlights include tender chicken feet, juicy shrimp and pork dumplings, savory tripe, and soft BBQ pork buns with a sweet, smoky filling. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, high-quality dim sum.
David T — Google review
We have been going to Bills Peking House for *Many* years. Service is always on point and prompt, food arrives relatively quickly (Dim Sum) and is piping hot so you know it is fresh and delivered to your table fresh and hot. It is not the cheapest restaurant for Dim Sum, but if you want quality, and also quantity, Bills is the Best in the deep South East of Calgary. The Shiu Mais, Haggows (sp), they are big! And Juicy! The shrimp dishes aren't skimpy, the shrimps are large and not just a paste of shrimp paste wrapped in a blanket. My go to 10/10 with oufght a need to drive to downtown or Chinatown for authentic Chinese Dim Sum. ... Western Chinese food is not reviewed, but I am sure it is very good. Easy parking, lots of parking and free. Early opening hours, and easy access from Macleod Trail and other major routes leading to this location.
Jason C — Google review
Enjoyed our Sunday dim sum lunch at Bill’s Peking House. Dim sum order from the menu then they steamed and delivered to your table. Not too many dim sum place in the Deep South Calgary. We definitely enjoyed Bill’s (even when they were at the old location in Canyon meadows) Friendly staff and good quality of food. Lots of parking spots at the plaza. Highly recommended! Will be back again
Tomson C — Google review
We loved Bill’s when we lived in Calgary several years ago, and found out they moved to a new location. Still great food, and they now offer dim sum all day. We always make a point to visit when we’re in town, and it didn’t disappoint this time, either! So happy to see them busy and doing well.
Peter — Google review
Love this place! Staff is very friendly & accommodating. The food is very delicious especially the BBQ DUCK ❤️ will definitely come back
Gie B — Google review
Enjoyed our meal here. Food is authentic Chinese. The dim sum though, was very expensive, and it was a bit hard to understand the "combo deals" menu (where you're forced to buy a dim sum item too). Roast pork was very good.

Bistro
T.Pot China Bistro is a sophisticated restaurant known for its dim sum, hot pots, and Chinese dishes. The modern dining area offers an authentic dim sum experience with a diverse menu featuring items like rice crepes, deep-fried shrimp dumplings, and beef tripe with green onion and ginger. The Malaysian curry combo may not have lived up to expectations but the wonton noodle was satisfying.
This restaurant is famous for dim sum. Overall I like this food, fresh and tasty. I will go back to try the dinner menu. The shrimps dishes were good. The deep fry squid was my favorite.
Joy L — Google review
A fairly well known place in town. Food is yummy for sure! Come try it yourself if you haven't been. The chili oil is pretty good too!
Tamages K — Google review
Dim Sum dishes were super delicious, fresh and tasty. We were impressed with the quality of Dim Sum lunch that we returned the next day for dinner. Dinner portions were generous. We ordered 6 dishes for 5 persons and had plenty to eat and leftovers. Recommend: Salt & Spicy squid, Mapo tofu (very spicy!), snow peas, Deep fried Octopus.
Wat M — Google review
We enjoyed the dim sum here, the flavors is excellent and in my opinion, very authentic, though it does lean on the pricey side, they even charge for takeout containers, which was a bit of a surprise. The steamed shrimp dumplings are hands-down the best I’ve had in Calgary. My father, who’s very particular about traditional Hong Kong–style dim sum, ranks this place number one so far, which says a lot. When we visited, the service was fast, and honestly feels just like being in Hong Kong, loud, brisk, and straight to the point. Definitely a solid 4 stars.
Luisa H — Google review
Authentic Chinese cuisine featuring dim sum and hearty dishes. It’s usually our first stop after the flight into Calgary. Conveniently located in Harvest Hills T&T mall, the restaurant offers hearty dishes and an impressive selection of dim sum, making it a go-to spot for both casual meals and special gatherings. The service is efficient, the portions are generous, and the flavors are consistently authentic. Whether you’re craving classic dumplings, BBQ pork buns, or a comforting bowl of congee, T Pot delivers a satisfying dining experience every time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality Chinese cuisine in Calgary!

Just had a lovely family wedding dinner here. The 12 course wedding dinner was unbelievable and well put together. The one dish that stand out was the unique lobster dish in some sort of white scrambled egg and chunks of lobster meat mixed in. That was absolutely delicious! One of the best chinese wedding dinner I had in a long time. Service quick and our dishes came out fast. They replaced the dirty dishes after a few of the meals which I find pretty good. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Alright, folks, buckle up, because T.Pot China Bistro just took my tastebuds on a joyride. I came in hungry, I left happy, and I'm pretty sure I saw my life flash before my eyes in a swirl of delicious noodles. The star of the show? Those dumplings. Oh. My. Goodness. They arrived looking innocent enough, but one bite in, and I swear I heard a choir of tiny, flavorful angels singing. I'm not saying they're magic, but I haven't been able to fit into my pre-dumpling pants since. Worth it. Every. Single. Bite. And let's not forget the greens! My mom always told me to eat my vegetables, and at T.Pot, it's actually a pleasure. They managed to make greens taste so good, I almost forgot they were good for me. Almost. The noodles? A glorious tangled mess of perfection. I'm pretty sure I inhaled them, which is a testament to how utterly addictive they are. My dining companion and I probably looked like we were in a competitive eating contest, but honestly, there was no time for civility when faced with such culinary greatness. Service was prompt and efficient, which is good, because any delay would have resulted in me scaling the walls for more dumplings. The ambiance is exactly what you want: bustling, lively, and with just the right amount of clatter to remind you that you're in a happy place where food reigns supreme. So, if you're looking for a place where your pants will feel a little tighter, your heart a little fuller, and your cravings utterly satisfied, T.Pot China Bistro is your spot. Just don't blame me when you start dreaming of dumplings. I've already accepted my fate.
Chris — Google review
Very bad experience. Nobody came to welcome us or seat us. We just stand there so awkward. We asked where we could sit, and the staff just told us to ask someone else — no one helped us and we were left confused. There were still lots of empty tables. We’re definitely not going back. The place was dirty, disorganized, and super noisy. Honestly, there was no real service.

Restaurant
Great Taste Chinese Restaurant in Calgary is a vibrant and traditional venue that offers a wide variety of dishes representing different Chinese culinary styles. The restaurant has gained popularity for its extensive menu, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. Upon entering, diners are greeted with a lively atmosphere reminiscent of China's bustling food markets. Expert chefs at this premier establishment showcase the best of Cantonese, Szechuan, and Hunan cuisine with meticulous attention to detail.
Came here for dinner on the weekend while visiting Calgary. Walked in and was immediately seated. Service was extremely fast and friendly throughout the meal. Started off with a hot pot of tea while looking over the menu. Menu is very large with many options from rice and noodles dishes. For an appetizer, ordered soup dumplings and egg drop soup which came out within 5 minutes. For the meals ordered the fried noodles, beef and Chinese broccoli which was perfect for family style eating. Food came out within 10 minutes and looked and smelled great. Everything was very authentic. There's many places to choose in Chinatown, but you definitely won't go wrong coming here.

I know this is literally sacrilege but I ordered from Great Taste Chinese via Uber due to the glowing reviews. I live in the deep south, so the fact the food was still hot was quite shocking. I even apologized to the Uber driver for the making him drive so far. Summary, worth every penny and every minute waiting. Hands down the best authentic Chinese food in Calgary, no argument to be had!! My favourite out of everything, Shanghai noodle with chicken! Don’t get me wrong, the salt and pepper chicken and sweet and sour pork were also very good. I even tried the roasted pepper with preserved egg, an incredible deep pepper and almost floral flavour that was unforgettable. The menu spans many food elements and flavour/texture profiles that should be experienced by the true foodie! I truly look forward to the day I visit in person and broaden my experience with this fine dining establishment!

Would you like some plastic with your meal? I found a piece of plastic in the food. I almost broke my tooth. We asked our server to tell the manager. A woman came and explained that it happens sometimes because of the containers the vegetables come in. She offered to get a new dish, but we declined. Also, the sweet and sour pork barely had any actual meat — it was mostly just fat and batter and a lot of sauce. The quality of the food seems to have declined, and the service was just okay. Disappointed that they didn't take the dish with plastic off our bill. Looking at a recent review, it appears having plastic in food is not the first time.

Ginger beef is a must get! Crispy delicious Salted egg york tofu is a 4/10 only having salted egg York favour, no taste of salt and pepper or any other flavour. Pork belly taste like frozen/ made by others 5/10 The mushrooms beancurd we got gone bad so we didn’t eat it and they kindly refund it

Great spot with (mostly) northern chinese cuisine. Had 3 dishes and all flavors were on point - stir fried egg plant with potato, spicy fried pork ribs and the lamb skewers. Service was also fast!

We adventure to try this restaurant new for us even though had been here in downtown for a long time. And we were pleased with the food, service and ambient. By the time we arrived it was packed however we were well serve. We ordered a pork belly plus rice and lamb and all was delicious. Highly recommended if yiu want. A great Chinese gastronomic experience.
Moraima C — Google review
Went here for a quick lunch and we ordered a few dishes for our group of 3... we had their ginger beef, fish maw soup, crispy noodles, and soup dumplings. Overall, the food was okay—nothing extraordinary but decent enough for a casual meal. The portions were generous, which is always a plus, and the flavors were mild but satisfying. The restaurant itself has plenty of space, so even during lunch, it didn’t feel crowded or rushed, which made for a comfortable dining experience.

Delicious Chinese food. Lots of spicy Northern Chinese dishes along with non spicy dishes. Every plate that came out looks appealing, hot and fresh. Free street parking after 6 pm.

Vegetarian restaurant
Happy Veggie House is a popular spot in Calgary, offering a wide range of vegetarian and vegan Chinese dishes. The restaurant prides itself on serving familiar Chinese cuisine made with mock meats and fresh vegetables. Their menu includes an extensive selection of soups, fried and steamed rice, chow mein, and rice noodles. Visitors can expect friendly and prompt service from the staff.
I’m visiting from Vancouver and I was craving vegan Chinese food. I found this place on Uber eats and OMG! The food was so fresh and delicious. It was packed with veggie meat and fresh vegetables. It tasted very authentic, like you won’t tell the difference between this food and non-vegan Chinese food. We need a branch of this restaurant in Vancouver 🙏🏽

It’s hidden away in a tiny mall that looks like it’s not open anymore. I was looking for vegetarian options so went there. The lady recommended chicken in black bean sauce. The sauce was spectacular but I wasn’t a big fan of ‘fake’ meat. I paid $15 for this.

Absolute, hands-down favourite vegan spot in the City. Fantastic food served by passionate people who care about high-quality vegetarian Canto food and were doing it well before it was cool - I’m talking decades, my parents used to take my sister and I here when we were kids. I can’t really express in words how much I love everything these guys do - try everything on the menu from the fried taro rolls to the variety gluten plates to the rice, noodles, hot pot & sizzling hot plate dishes, mu shu veggie, black sesame & almond desserts… seriously go now and appreciate how lucky we are to have Happy Veggie House in Calgary!!

If we could give this restaurant 10 starts we would! Everything was insanely delicious and there are so many options (we were surprised to learn that the ENTIRE menu was vegan!). Cannot recommend this place more. If we had more days in Calgary we would come back again and again to try everything. The meat substitutes were fabulous. We especially loved the Szachuan noodles, but honestly I don’t think you could go wrong with anything.

Really great vegetarian Chinese food!! A hidden gem for sure. Prices are fair, staff is kind and food is delicious :)

Perfect for vegetarians or people who just want a bit of a break from meat. They sell tofu in different flavors. I love the sweet and sour. They have curry, a soya sauce sort of flavor one and a plain one. $15 for large box of tofu. $7.5 for small.

the lady serving me was so lovely and helped me choose a dish because i was overwhelmed with options. was so good and she even gave me a free tea. nice causal and peaceful setting. perfect because i was solo travelling for work.

After two months of traveling in the US and Canada, this place is hands down the best place we've eaten in. If I could rate it higher, I would. The sechuan noodles we're the best Chinese food I've ever ate. And on top of the heavenly food, the owners were so sweet! Probably the only reason to visit Calgary.

This Nepali restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. The ambiance is truly inviting and sets the stage for a memorable meal. The menu presents a variety of options to satisfy any palate. Each dish is crafted with fresh ingredients and attention to detail. I highly recommend indulging in their culinary creations. It is only open for dinner. Recommend booking before hand as it gets really busy at times.

Lovely place to eat. Lots of dinner options with a variety of different flavours. You get to choose your own spice level which is a nice touch. The service was simply amazing 👏 . Very attentive and great suggestions.

Great service and the restaurant has a nice ambiance. The food however wasn’t mind blowing given the hype. The momos were a highlight and the flavors were ok. Perhaps expectations were too high.

Welcoming and smiling service, food was delicious as well as the drinks. A huge plus for having the spiciness options to all meals. Might have an intimate atmosphere if you arrive right after evening opening. Together with my husband we enjoyed the time an the meal.

My family and I absolutely LOVE coming to this restaurant! The food is SO delicious, the service is always friendly and efficient, and we always have an amazing dining experience! Definitely one of my all time favourite restaurants in the city! 10/10 would recommend!!

My wife and I came for our anniversary and LOVED IT. Wait staff were very helpful, extremely friendly and funny. Helped us make some choices with spice levels and dishes that worked well together. (We like spicy food and went with the spicy option, which was just right for us. A little heat with a lot of flavour.) Food was awesome and lived up to the hype we had been given. The only downside to the evening was the drive to get there and getting home, as we live in the NE...but that's on me, not on them. It was worth the time in traffic to get there. We will definitely be back!

Really great restaurant. The food was all tasty and service from John was excellent. He was super friendly and explained the menu nicely. We liked the coconut naan bread especially. The restaurant itself is pretty big, it was lively and had good ambiance.

This place has been on my list for a long time and was recommended by friends and colleagues. Finally we made the trip and I am glad we did. It was quite busy on a Saturday night, and I had reserved a table for 2 beforehand. The place looks inconspicuous from outside, but once you enter, it's cozy and elegant. The staff was very welcoming and polite. The service was impeccable and fast. We ordered the fish from the appetizer and dal bhat (thali) from the mains and New Zealand lamb grill. The fish was too good. Fresh and tasty and came with 2 sauces. We loved the thali as well. It was enough for both of us. The curries were flavorful. The bread was fresh and crispy. The lamb grill, though hot and delicious, was a bit chewy for my liking. My husband, a meat lover, knows his meat too well. He found it a tad tough, too. We did mention this to the server after we finished our meal as we didn't want to complain right away. He was very polite and took our complaint to the chef. It was very nice of them to give us a discount on the lamb dish. A very ethical thing to do when running a high end restaurant and I appreciate this gesture. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back to try some more dishes.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Shiki Menya is a cozy Japanese restaurant known for its delectable scratch-made ramen bowls, fusion sides, and beer in a trendy and lively setting. The eatery's first avenue corner store offers an array of tantalizing dishes such as Flamin Cheeto chicken sandos, curry poutine, and wagyu cheese katsu curry. However, the must-try item is the chili goma ramen kit.
Shiki Menya was hands down the best ramen I’ve ever had. From the depth of flavor in the broth to the perfectly cooked noodles, every bite was outstanding. The atmosphere adds to the experience; it’s lively yet welcoming and the staff are warm, attentive, and passionate about what they do. This is one of those places that defines Calgary’s food scene, and honestly, your trip won’t feel complete without trying it.
Feriyal H — Google review
Tried this ramen place recently and it was a major disappointment. The ramen lacked flavor, the broth was bland, and there wasn’t even a boiled egg in the bowl, which is a staple. They charge extra to make it spicy, but all they give is a tiny container of chili oil on the side. Seating was uncomfortable, the music was way too loud, and after waiting in a long line to get in, we were told they don’t allow takeout boxes, so we had to rush and finish our food there, even if we were full. Overall, not a great experience. There are so many better ramen spots in Calgary that are more flavorful, reasonably priced, and actually care about customer comfort.
Vish — Google review
One of the best Ramen spots in the city. If you are looking for a flavourful bowl this is the place. Service was good and they have a good selection of different items. I had the kara miso garlic ramen, the broth was very rich and spicy, the noodles had a great texture. The chashu was tender and well seasoned. Great bowl all around. The only downside is that inside seating has music playing which is fairly loud so be aware of that. I recommend the patio if available.
Soren T — Google review
Sure the ramen is good, but have you tried the pork belly tacos? Incredible! This place has a lot to offer. I cant wait to try more the next time I go.
J C — Google review
As a party of three, we had to wait in line for 20-30 minutes at around lunchtime for a spot. The ramen is good, but is not leaps and bounds above other respectable ramen shops in the city and is not worth waiting that long in line for.
Harry H — Google review
The dry ramen tastes good! But the soup ramen, soup both quite salty,it would be great if the restaurant could offer a lighter version. The chicken karaage is juicy! Overall, it’s not too bad!
Lucky K — Google review
The best ramen in town! We took our 6 year old son there and he asked for the second bowl for the first time(he's a picky eater) We were seated inside but the music was too loud so we asked to move outside. The ramen was really good. The staffs were friendly. Highly recommended.

Great space for ramen. I liked the indoor/outdoor space. The ramen was tasty, I wish they had a regular miso ramen flavor and the option of half sizes for those with small appetites.

The Chinese restaurant Regency Palace is a popular choice for those craving great dim sum. With spacious interiors and always prompt service, it's easy to get your food quickly and without any fuss. The menu offers both Cantonese classics as well as more elaborate banquet-style dishes at very reasonable prices. Although the order may have been too much, the variety on offer was certainly worth it!
Got some dim sum for takeout. Their prices aren't bad: $6.95 for lobogao (pan fried turnip cakes). They were thick and delicious. $7.95 for har gow (crystal shrimp dumplings).
BHF — Google review
Took my visiting parents here on a pretty fun night. First things first. The food was not great. To be fair, this was during a large event they were hosting of nearly 200 people. They were fine with us coming in and sitting down despite not being part of the event. I have a feeling that the kitchen had cranked out a large dinner service for the group event and thought they were done for the day until we showed up (it wasn’t very late). My parent’s aren’t overly adventurous with their tastes so a lot of the table dishes were pretty standard fare for a western Chinese restaurant. Noodles, spring rolls, etc.. I am a big fan of pork feet when they’re done well so I ordered that as well. Honestly, felt like it was prepped three days ago and tossed in a microwave. The noodle dishes had little to no depth in the flavour. Kind of a jumble of ingredients just tossed together stir fry style and put on a plate. Atmosphere was meanwhile a bunch of fun. There was a party happening that eventually turned into karaoke and a dance floor. That’s always a good time. The novelty of walking over a koi pond on your way in with an option to buy fish food is also a cool gimmick with a nostalgic charm to it. I’ll likely try this spot again sometime and hopefully during a normal dinner service. I have a good sense of what to expect and perhaps that expectation will be exceeded. Thank you for a good time!
Jon C — Google review
This place was perfectly adequate. Perhaps it was the day of the week or the time we went, but for 21$ we got exactly the quality of meal that we could expect. There weren’t many options out for the Buffet, the dim sum wasn’t available and the hot pot was a separate charge. Although there wasn’t a variety of food and protein options, it looked like we caught the tail end of whatever buffet had happened earlier that day. The koi fish are very affectionate.
Andres D — Google review
The steam chicken feet was cooked in a bad texture, it should be golden bronze not dark pink. The rice crepe was in a small portion and the bbq version had the meat in too many bites so it isnt how to supposed to work. Other than that those steam dumpling are in good condition.
ELWIN L — Google review
Took my boys for dim sum while on holiday, so they could try something new. They loved EVERYTHING! The dumplings were fantastic, the sticky rice was perfect, and they even enjoyed the Chinese broccoli 🥦 Service was wonderful, and the price good for the quantity of food that we got. Will definitely return next time I am in Calgary!

We recently hosted a birthday banquet for around 30 guests and had an absolutely fantastic experience! From the start, the manager, Peter, was incredibly friendly and accommodating—he made it so easy to customize a few items on the set menu to better suit our needs. On the night of the event, everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding—fast, attentive, and genuinely caring. Our guests were so impressed, and we couldn’t have been happier with how it all turned out. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it for any special occasion!

Very nice dim sum, decent sized portions. Staff are friendly - particularly, Tim (the manager). The restaurant is very spacious and the air conditioning is set just right. Free WiFi is available. Prices are reasonable too. Highly recommended!

1. DIM SUM ARE NOT BUFFET 2. They won't refill new customers come. We were waiting to refill but they only did when new customers come and said in Chinese. "New customers arrived, go and refill 3. All the soup are nothing but literally water. Tomato soup, mushroom soup and spicy soup are just added two slices of each to chicken shop. We told them they all tasteless. They then came and add a bunch of chicken powders. WTH 4. Buffet meats about 12 choices and 8 kinds of vegetables for the soup. 5. You need to choose soup each, no garnishes.

Nestled in the heart of Calgary, U & (Centre St. SW) is a charming Chinese eatery that caters to both late-night diners and daytime food lovers. This modest venue specializes in delectable Cantonese bites and dim sum, making it a favorite among locals seeking authentic flavors. The inviting atmosphere is perfect for casual meals, whether you're winding down after a night out or enjoying lunch with friends.
The first time I came here, I was overwhelmed because all the tables were full. But then the waitress led me to the table right away. The service here is very fast and professional. So this restaurant is an ideal place for you to visit. Located in Chinatown and the food is delicious, reasonable price. It suits my taste. I will come back when I have free time.

U & Me is a great spot for late-night Chinese food in downtown Calgary (went there around 1am after th Stampede). The duck was flavorful and reasonably priced, and the dumplings were fresh and tasty. We also loved the chicken egg soup 😋comforting and well-seasoned! Only downside: we were charged for the tea without being informed, even though we didn’t ask for or drink it. It would be better if that was optional or at least clarified upfront. Overall, a solid experience—good food, generous portions, and fast service (even late at night). Just be mindful of the tea charge!

Great Chinese food place for any occasion. We ordered the dinner for two which came with the perfect amount of food for us (two young adult males haha!) and was a good price. The atmosphere is the main appeal here. We went in a slower time around 5-6pm on a Friday and it was one of the most relaxing dinners we've ever had. They had calming piano music that reminded me of a massage place with birds sounds making it a very enjoyable experience. The interior decorations are also beautiful. Ginger beef was especially good!

Overall, I want to say that this Chinese restaurant is a classic that my family eats at for events, holidays, etc. There are many tables that are both spacious and clean. The food was also amazing. The salt and pepper squid was tasty, the Chinese Broccoli was delectable, and the tea was also splendid. The food is a 5/5. The staff were fairly nice and helped really quickly when a spill happened. Overall, an amazing restaurant for a meet or for a family event.

I’ve always loved the atmosphere here, especially since the renovations it’s beautiful and inviting. The service is usually attentive and friendly, though if you come right after the club expect to wait a little longer. Unfortunately, the food quality has noticeably gone downhill. Many of the dishes have become overly salty so much that it doesn’t feel enjoyable anymore. They used to be delicious and full of flavor, but now it’s overwhelming and not the same. On top of being charged extra for container and bag is a bit much. I really hope they bring back the balance and quality they once had.
Keely L — Google review
It is great to have a restaurant that is open until 4am. Food here is superb, absolutely delicious and is usually given fast. However, the customer service from few of the waitresses is why I will be giving a 3/5 stars rate. We understand that it gets really overwhelming and busy, especially late at night. But even when it is busy, it does not mean they will give their customers a rude, discourteous, non-responsive attitude when serving foods. We also noticed some of the utensils weren't washed properly. We told one of the waitresses and did not bother to apologize. But instead, she grabbed the utensils inappropriately and abruptly from us without saying anything. The waitress only started smiling when it was time to pay the bills :-) Just polish the part of politeness next time when serving--I might be giving this review a 5/5.
Rhea C — Google review
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place deserves all the love. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite is packed with flavor, made with care, and you can tell they’re passionate about what they serve. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, the taste never disappoints. From the warm atmosphere to the friendly staff, this place has a way of making you feel right at home. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. I’ve fallen in love with this spot, and honestly, I’ll keep coming back. Forever a favorite!

Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu restaurant
Sukiyaki House is a modern and minimalist restaurant in Calgary that offers a contemporary chic setting for authentic Japanese cuisine. The menu features a variety of Japanese entrees, including hot pot and freshly prepared sushi. One of the highlights is their house-made gyoza, which are filled with lean chicken, chives, cabbage, aromatics, and seasonings. The kitchen team meticulously chops all the filling ingredients by hand to ensure just the right texture.
The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and we were seated almost right away. In the first photo, you’ll see a special starter of small fried crabs — definitely worth trying if you’re feeling adventurous, especially since they’re only available for a limited time. We also had the prawn tempura dynamite and the crunchy spicy tuna roll, both of which were delicious. I’d happily order everything again. I’ll definitely be returning!

I would never visit this place again, service was terrible. They were in a terrible rush to give the table to someone else. Food was bad as well. Sushi s were the worst I've had in town. Desserts were okay but wasn't given time to eat what I paid for. Never try this place for sushi and 100 percent not worth it was the price through. I dont even understand why its priced so high for what they're providing. Ambience was good and so was the food presentation.

Not sure what some of the negatives reviews are about. Went here for dinner last night. Had a seat at the counter, venue was about half full. We had 3 appetizers and then sushi. The sushi was the star but the appetizers were pretty good as well, just came out a little different to what we anticipated. Had a mix of tuna, eel, Hamachi and rolls. All super fresh. Came out a little on the expensive side but we ordered some expensive pieces of fish so to be expected.

+ Food was very tasty! They definitely have one of the best sushi/nigiri in Calgary! + Service was top-notch. We were seated right away and taken care of in a timely manner + Ambiance is calm and welcoming. Dimly lit, clean, and plenty of tables ± I would highly recommend reserving as the restaurant was almost full when it opened for dinner ± Parking is available for free just behind the restaurant after 6 PM ± Price range of ~$25+ for food. With a few appetizers going below $15.

What kind of a magical place is this? Every single item we ordered was outstanding. And the cocktails? Please, somebody stop me from ordering a fourth drink! Simply fantastic! And this is coming from someone who isn’t a fan of sweet drinks. Every one of them was perfectly balanced and truly unique. Think miso-caramel (but not sweet at all) and passion fruit ting with matcha and pandan… I mean… You’d be lucky if you met Judith and Justin (siblings) and Charlotte, all fantastic waiters. And the amazing chefs whom we got to sit right in front of and whose craft we got to watch. Ok, enough said, just get down here and check this place out for yourself. You won’t regret it.

We went here to eat just a day before we arrived for Otafest. It was pretty late at night and they were the only japanese restaurant open so me and my party gave it a try. It was a wonderful dinner, the waiter that attended us was quite attentive and friendly, we even had a chat about anime media which was cool. The food and drinks was quite yummy and delicious and the portions given were good as well. 10/10 would revisit again.

I find the food was disappointing for the price. The shabushabu soup tasted bland and i end up adding small amount of soysauce to make the soup taste good, however I feel this is a thing with my personal preference. I am super impressed with the goma dipping sauce, goes super with the vegetables. The anago nigiri was good but nothing exceptional.

2 star for overall experience mostly because they forgot about our Peking duck , since we were hungry we ate everything else before we needed to remind them about the duck… I also paid with a 20% tip before the duck showed up… the food was great but when the main course isn’t there it kinda puts a different experience “on the table”. The duck showed up after their closing time so we felt rushed to try finishing out meal though when it’s only the duck portion of our dinner and again being full from everything else we felt more pressure to eat and leave because every couple minutes someone was checking in to take away plates/dishes … like let us feel relaxed because you made a mistake… we don’t need 3-4 different people hovering around … seriously there was at least 2 people standing next to our table… now as I type this it’s becoming more annoying of the experience there. I better not write anymore so I’ll leave it as this for a review. Good was great, service was not great at all. Ugh 😑 we needed to ask for a few seats to be cleaned , the tea pot was dirty with large stains in top so thinking it’s not fresh tea is easy to assume. The table next to up was leaving but they left the huge mess on the floor the rest of the evening even after that group left … of course I was fine with the mess being caused by a child, but come on… you can clean that up so it’s not left there soaking into the floor the next hour or more. You just can’t vacuum that up and expect to get everything out without a deep clean. I’m dropping this to 1 star since it’s needed to post. I can’t imagine how the kitchen is, The way to the washroom wasn’t so clean and definitely awkward for most.

The traditional Chinese food here is actually not bad, the squid dish is fantastic and the texture of the meat dishes are great too. It’s a large dinning area and the decor is not bad, the service is questionable. But that is typical for authentic Chinese restaurants, I would visit again. UPDATE Food quality has gone down drastically and the most recent instance when I went, it took over 40mins for the Peking duck to arrive at the table when the place was not super busy. There were servers wandering around the floor, but super hard for me to flag anyone down because they would turn around just as I tried to wave people over. We were then charged a 15% service charge for 3 people. I would’ve happily given a tip if the service was good, but it was far from passible and they unfairly added a service charge to the bill when it wasn’t even a gratuity fee.
Kristy C — Google review
One of my top places for dim sum in Calgary- they are able to take reservations, and you order from the paper sheet (check mark the items you want from the list) , and they bring the food hot! Average for speed of service, food is good and we’ve typically gone up to the till to pay. If it’s busy and u have to wait for a table, waiting indoors in the mall is more comfortable with lots of seating vs silver dragon. Also lots of free parking.

Very very good wonton soup at this restaurant..had the Palace Chicken lunch and it was very tasty, nice steamed rice and mixed veg. I'm so disappointed in their food now. There was no flavour and the chicken and beef were dry. There wasn't any sauce on the ginger beef and the sweet and sour chicken was dry with no flavour. Very delicious Peking duck! Tasty meat, cooked well, crispy skin, and the wrapping cakes were done just right (not too dry, not too soft). The ladies serving were also very friendly and quick as well. Highly recommend!

Dim sum restaurant
Bobby Chao's Restaurant is an informal eatery that serves classic Chinese entrees and dim sum, with the option for delivery. Customers rave about the exceptional food and great service at this place.
This is definitely a great place to enjoy dim sum with friends and family. The food taste fresh and delicious and it comes in good amounts. The service is what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant, they will make sure you have your water or tea full but won't bother you like many other places asking if everything is alright. You do have to get their attention if you want to order more or need something specific though. The atmosphere is good, nothing to be raging about but it has good lighting and it's clean. We got there on a Saturday around 12:40 and they had 20% off dim sum items, I'm not sure if that is an usual promotion or we just got lucky.

An average chinese dining experience, not great by any means but not bad either, very average. Large menu tons of selection and the additional bbq meats selection is nice. My group and I ordered the shrimp fried noodle, the bbq meat two items plate, garlic mixed vegetables, sweet and sour pork and salt pepper squid. The duck and bbq pork weren't bad, the sweet and sour pork was a bit bland. Again not a bad dinner just very average nothing really stood out, I would probably try it again and order some other dishes next time.

Im never going anywhere else for this dish as long as Bobby serves it! Was a 5* Updating my review. I ordered the same thing as as did for dine in but for take out. They dont come with utensils... I ate a noodle soup with my hands. Ordered again... found out there was a utensils button. Checked that off to ensure I get to est properly. Delivery arrived with no utensils, once again. ...common mate

I strayed from my usual Chinese place to try this one on Xmas eve. We ordered through Skip and what arrived was the worst food I've ever seen or tasted. The noodles were supposed to be fried but they were white with no sauce or any flavoring. The ginger beef and squid were beyond soggy and the dumplings had absolutely no taste to them. We threw away $100 worth of food and made home made pizza. Never again.

Ordered delivery, dim sum was good and portion sizes are reasonable. The Shanghai pan fried pork buns were excellent.

I bought a Barbecue pork and roast pork rice . The roast pork is good, but the barbecue pork has gone bad. I tried three pieces and sure they smell and taste bad. Please sell to customer before make sure the meat quality, otherwise don’t sell it

5 stars dim sum experience today, I was surprised that no reservation was necessary but my call ahead booked us a choice large table by the window. Our menu highlights today included salt and pepper pork chops, deep fried BBQ pork pastries, beef chow fun, and shrimp dumpies. Staff was just awesome and friendly, got us everything we needed. The flavours and textures and serving temperatures were all on point, and this Edgemont location was such a win being able to avoid driving and parking downtown. Would absolutely recommend the dim sum here!

The food was pretty good. The price were very reasonable for the size of food. Very good Chinese seasoning here. Very busy definitely have reservation here. Want one of the best Peking duck you can get in town their choice of sauce is very seasoned well. The downfall the reason I rated 3 stars it is because the service was not that great they took forever to refill our teapot and take away our dirty dishes. We order crab and lobster and they did not even clear out all the dirty plates. Usually they would give you new plates to eat with crab and lobster. We spent over 200 to $300 dinners I would expect much better service.

Chinese restaurant
The Calgary Court Restaurant is a casual Chinese restaurant with noodles, lo mein, and sesame chicken on the menu. This Chinatown noodle shop also offers congee for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Across the board, you can find dishes that are popular in different parts of Asia - from Fried Noodles in China to Naan Bread in India at Calgary Court Restaurant.
This is a great little spot for breakfast, very nice to experience traditional Chinese breakfast dishes and the staff are all lovely. It's really nice to have something downtown open it's early for this type of service and the prices are just right, in a world of $20 breakfast sandwiches you get way more than you expect for $14. A hot drink, garlic toast, two eggs, and your choice of meat on various types of rice and noodles. Some of the dishes are certainly more traditional and I will eventually try them but there are tons of options for someone like me that doesn't have the experience with the more adventurous options! For the record I did ask for my eggs sunny side up and extra soft, as I like to put them into the noodle soup, it tastes like a carbonara!

I have been an old-time customer of this place. Visiting it today almost after a year I ordered chicken Shanghai noodles (23i) from the menu. Seeing the picture shown in the menu had chicken in them I went for that. To my surprise, it was outright chickenless with maybe only tiny specs of chicken here and there. Similarly, there were no veggies in it either. I was shocked by how poorly my food was prepared and brought in front of me with noodles tossed in oil only. My question to the management: do you think your customers are fools?? And won't notice if you skip the protein in the noodles ??? Pathetic and unacceptable. I won't be bringing my family to dine in at your restaurant anymore.

Our breakfast at this restaurant probably deterred us from having any Cantonese food for the rest of stay in Calgary. It’s only one more day! I know. Many will ask why I would choose to eat Cantonese food in Chinatown. I usually would give the same advice too to visitors to Vancouver, too. However, when I saw all of the other half dozen dining parties being East Asians speaking either Cantonese and Mandarin and the place looking respectably clean, I had hope. I was wrong. While we were seated promptly and the menus came quickly, nobody came to take our orders until I flagged one of the 3 waitstaff down. All of them were just gathering by the counter talking to another worker making beverages behind the counter. While they were looking around the restaurant, they made no eye contact with patrons. 2 of them were engrossed in an argument. We both had the breakfast sets. My husband ordered the bolo bun with butter, turkey sausage patty and scrambled eggs and I had their congee of the day (chicken and mushroom) and rice rolls. Both sets came with beverage and we both had HK milk tea. Except for the HK milk tea, everything else was embarrassingly bad. The top of the bolo bun was soggy. My congee was bland and turned watery quickly. My rice rolls was dry and tough. The fact that they preset the lowest tipping % at 15% on the payment terminal was laughable.

Pretty nice place! Friendly staff, but efficient at what to do. You enter this place, and honestly, it's this eclectic feel of clean and modern, yet still very much simmering shiny 🌟Chinese gaud somehow. Don't know how to explain the decor, but it's nice! But of all, food came out much quicker than expected, and normally I'm a big eater, but even for me, the portions there were really big. I had to take some of this back to my hotel, because I was easily filled. I'd come back again if I had the chance!

Overall a good meal. I ordered the set of soup, 1 dish and rice. The cabbage, belly pork with vermicelli dish was really good! The Chinese peanut soup was excellent.

Found this restaurant after the lantern festival. We were shown to our table and given at least 5 different menus. No explanation. After 10-15 minutes the waitress showed up and took our order and despairing brought us some water. After 15 minutes my meal arrived; my wife’s did not. Eventually we were able to flag down a different server (our server would not look our way) he assured us that the second dish was on its way. Fast forward 45 minutes and the dish had not arrived. I had finished eating mine. We were unable to get a server’s attention. We decided to leave. As I tried to pay they wanted me to pay for the second dish. Not a chance. I explained the challenge and the eventually agreed to remove the charge with a disingenuous “sorry”. My meal was a semi-bland homemade fried noodle plate. It was nothing to write home about. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a restaurant in Calgary’s Chinatown.

Good location in China town, service was nice and the food done well. The inside was clean and setup with an updated look. If you are downtown and are craving for some Chinese food I think going here will fill that hunger.

After a long drive from Vancouver, this place taste just like home. We came for the breakfast menu and it is very authentic HK style food. Price to portion is also very reasonable. I ordered satay beef with rice noodles and sunny side up eggs with a milk tea. Came to 14 dollars.

Kam Han Szechuan House is a vibrant and laid-back eatery in Calgary that serves up a delectable array of Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, featuring an assortment of handmade dumplings. This trusted Chinese restaurant offers an extensive menu catering to various tastes, ensuring an authentic culinary experience.
Every table got these crabs on special! Restaurant was super busy and our waitress apologized for not being able to be more attentive. Room could be better ventilated, and the noise level was pretty high. Would recommend going early to avoid the crowds. However, the crabs were AMAZING and we loved the ability to customize the toppings in the hot pot. However, the toppings were pretty expensive, ie $5 for broccoli. We had yam noodles, tofu, and broccoli. A splurge but it was delicious, as it made for a great base for the crabs! Absolutely a unique experience—haven’t seen crabs in this style elsewhere! Worth experiencing at least once. Lots of leftovers to take home as well.
Christine T — Google review
I recently dined at this restaurant, and while the food was good, the service was lacking throughout our entire meal. We felt completely ignored, as no one checked on our table. We ordered the spicy crab with numerous additional toppings, including mushrooms, quail eggs, potatoes, bamboo shoots, black fungus, cabbage, fried dough sticks, and instant noodles. The portion was enormous, easily enough to feed four people, and we ended up taking home more than two-thirds of it. Everything was enjoyable, except for the bamboo shoots. They were filled with so many strings that they were nearly impossible to chew, leaving a very unpleasant experience as they got stuck between my teeth. When we brought this to the server's attention, he simply stated, "We use canned bamboo shoots; they are like this, and I can’t do anything about it." While I appreciate his honesty, I believe that restaurants should prioritize using fresh, quality ingredients for their dishes. I highly recommend trying the food, but I urge the restaurant to reconsider using canned bamboo shoots in the future.

The owner was a very nice and friendly lady. The crab was so meaty and super flavorful! We enjoyed all the other dishes too.

Crab pot is a must! The price is unbeatable and it is as done in perfection! The crispy prawn noodle is also good, but a bit too much noodle for my preference, but I must say… it’s a creative way to put this dish together! The chicken was also great, but it was not easy to take it apart with the butter knife they provided. Veggies dishes were decent. The broccoli was more on the hard side, so kids and seniors had to skip.

My coworkers and I came here for lunch and were really impressed! The lunch specials looked excellent (check out my picture of the menu), but since we had a larger group we ended up ordering the dinner for 3 instead, and we were not disappointed! The portions were generous, the flavors were spot on, and there were several great options to choose from. Everything came out hot and fresh, and it was perfect for sharing. Definitely worth checking out whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch or coming with a group. Highly recommend Kam Han Szechuan House!
Ryan D — Google review
I probably would have given this place a 4 out of 5, however one of the dishes we ordered was so bland that I can't go any higher then 3 stars. To start with I did really enjoy the other dishes we ordered, the ginger beef is quite good here and I would definitely order that again, the noodles weren't bad either and I like the variety of options for noodle dishes, unfortunately the Kung pao chicken was devoid of any flavor and heat, there was absolutely no seasoning to the dish or any chili, it was really disappointing. I would still recommend you try the ginger beef , that was quite good here.
David M — Google review
Last time I came about a year ago the Pan fried pork dumplings actually were good. They were only pan fried and not too greasy. So I was looking forward to them once more. Yesterday on the other hand, it came completely deep fried…. Definitely lacked in taste. I couldn’t enjoy it as much as past times. Consistency seems to be lacking. Oil also seemed very very old. Or maybe they just used old cold fried dumplings and reheated again 👎🏻
Bora — Google review
We came for the crab hot pot a second time cuz i liked how we can add whatever toppings we want but i think the star of the night was the clams in chili sauce. It was the perfect amount of spice and it had a smokey flavour (really good wok hei) The fried rice was great to soak up the spicy sauce, a perfect bite. We also asked what type of choy they had that night and got my favourite ong choy (aka water spinach). We left with our bellies full and leftovers to take home. Our dinner menu: -clams in chili sauce -kam han special fried rice -mild spicy crab hot pot with black fungus, baby corn, bean curd puff, yam noodle and chinese mushroom - ong choy with fermented bean curd -stir fried spicy frog legs - crispy shrimp chow mein

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Ichinen is a Japanese eatery located in a strip mall, offering a variety of noodle soups and rice bowls in a modern and simple setting. The menu includes crispy pan-fried gyoza made with pork and vegetables, staying true to the traditional accompaniments found in ramen shops in Japan.
I’ve been coming here since they opened, and it’s hands down my favorite ramen spot. It’s owned by a local Japanese family who are incredibly kind and down to earth—you can feel the love in everything they do. The ramen has always been top quality with amazing consistency. No gimmicks, no hype—just traditional, soul-warming ramen done right. Vegans also get their own ramen options!! The Yam Broth and Spinach noodles are amazing - Great place to bring Vegans! The free extra noodles (kaedama) is such a great value, and for lunch you can add on extras like chicken karaage rice bowls or gyoza, which makes it even better. The service is always fantastic, and they’ve even started using locally made noodles by Respect the Technique—such a great touch. Easily beats out the big franchise chains. Highly recommend!

This is more 3.5 rating. The broth was ok. The cha Siu was good. Egg ok. The broth wasn't bad. What I personally wasn't a fan of was their noodles. Tried both thick and thin. Didn't really like either. And the greens didn't really make sense to me. Hence the lower score.
Jenn L — Google review
Ramen was excellent, with a flavourful broth, noodles that had a satisfying chew, and a generous amount of toppings. Service was okay, and atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Solid spot for a hearty ramen meal. Other noodle dishes are also available.

It’s a hidden spot. Luckily someone recommended it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t by pass this restaurant any chance. Japanese operated ramen shops, love the black garlic oil ramen with extra noodles. Soup are pretty rich, not msg type of flavour, more like true authentic Japanese style bone soups.

I would start by saying that the staff there was very friendly and the service was great, BUT the ramen……… The Ramen was bland!😶‍🌫️ I have tried many ramens and this one was the worst one I have had… I m sorry to say this…. I do not understand what kind of pallet these people have who has given the Ramen 4/5 stars… the Ramen is not even 1 star. It was really bad. No taste at all…. It was very disappointing.
Twinkle C — Google review
Yesterday was my first time at Ramen Ichinen! It was surprisingly good. The amount of noodles was perfect for me and they still offered FREE extra noodles. I am definitely coming back.
Leticia B — Google review
Visited this ramen place because of the reviews -I’m sorry to say but I think it’s over rated. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice… the ramen, not so much. The broth is way too salty for my tastebuds. They do swap broths if you find it too salty (I didn’t swap) - the noodles taste starchy, this might be the way they prepare them. Either way, I’ll continue my search when in Calgary
Ming F — Google review
For my taste, this Tonkotsu base broth lacked the saltiness I expect. Other reviewers said the broth was salty, this is not the case when we visited the restaurant. Maybe it was toned down since. Also, the garlic oil took over the taste of the broth halfway while finishing my ramen. Noodles were of my preference and the chashu was excellent, melt in your mouth goodness. Would love to come back again to try other ramen.

This chinese restaurant is a amazing find for celiacs and people with normal Chinese food cravings. The amount of food you get for the price is incredible, and the flavors in the gluten free menu items were delicious. My wife's normal chinese food order was just as good as what I had! If you're a fan of Chinese cuisine, Magic Bowl is definitely worth checking out.
This is one of the best Chinese food restaurants in Calgary. The food is excellent and the gentleman that owns/operates the place is lovely. Our favourite dish is the Salt & Pepper Squid, it has a nice light batter with a bit of heat. In fact, all of the dishes that we've tried here over the years are exceptional, great flavours and little or no MSG... I can tell because I don't get all bloaty or puffy from this like I do from the other cheap western style chinese food. The Magic Bowl Chinese Food has a great Dim Sum menu and everything is made fresh, you can tell. Next time we will try one of his hot pots, they look fantastic. All in all this is one of our favourite date night spots, even though the decor is a little tired, the food more than makes up for it.
Sasha S — Google review
The decor is dated and the restaurant is small, but don't let that dissuade you from visiting this hidden gem. The service is wonderful and the owners are genuine and friendly. Prices are reasonable to get this level of dim sum outside of Chinatown. The food is up there with the big restaurants in Chinatown as well, and all the dim sum is made in house. Washrooms are clean and parking is plentiful. A great place to hit that dim sum craving if you don't want to head downtown.
Dez L — Google review
Came here with a friend on Sunday March 12th 2023. The food was delicious, with lots of variety. The pig buns were cute and tasty. The beef ribs were a bit rubbery with lots of bones. Other than that I will return to try other items that I was too full to eat today.
Steen S — Google review
The food is pretty bland and very mediocre. S2, S3, S4 buns were the best things there, specifically the egg yolk bun. The owner is very kind and gives good service. Unfortunately though the food was mostly disappointing. For food quality it's priced ok, you could get a similar meal that's better tasting for the same price. If you dine in don't expect much atmosphere, maybe try take out.

The shrimp dumpling and beef tripe were really good, but the hot and sour soup was a bit sweet. The piggy egg yolk buns were cute - make sure you eat them while the are hot!

Went there yesterday with my friend for lunch. It was not busy which is great. Food was amazing especially the salt n pepper squid, beef short ribs! To die for! Very affordable, and our server was so funny and kind. Couldn’t help but give him a big tip. Would definitely come back to this place.

I've only had dim sum here and it's better than some at Chinatown! It's not the type of dim sum that goes around with carts. So you'll have to wait a little for your order to be made, but it's worth the wait. The place is really small so make sure you get there early or with willingness to wait to be seated (I don't know if they take reservations). Service is just OK. Plenty of parking spots. One of my favorites here are the rice crepes and the BBQ pork buns. But really everything I've tried it's really good and fresh.

I went here for my first time tonight, i suffer from celiacs disease, ended up finding it online searching for gluten free chinese food, all i can say is WOW! The amount of food you get for the price is absolutely amazing, will have a couple plates for left overs tomorrow, the taste for the gluten free menu items i tried tonight were absolutely wonderful and so much flavor, I had sweet and sour pork ginger beef( un battered) and chicken fried rice. 10 out of 10 will recommend to anyone, and 10 out of 10 will be return! Wifey says her normal chinese food order was 10 out of 10 amazing as well! if you love chinese food, and are celiac disease sufferer or not then magic bowl is for you!!!

Momo is a new thing for me but my Nepalese amigo showed me the light. What an awesome experience for authentic Nepalese cuisine.I already loved the spices and flavors of many styles of curry but this one hit the spot. A curry soup with tasty little pockets of herbed meat...delish. and this was only the starter. Had goat curry to follow also a hit.

We ordered the jhol momo and chicken chowmein from Calgary Momo House. The chowmein was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, with the right balance of veggies and chicken, and cooked just the way we like it. Easily the highlight of the meal! The jhol momo was decent, though it didn’t stand out as much as the chowmein. Still, it added variety to our order and was enjoyable overall. Service was friendly and the food came out fresh and hot. Definitely recommend the chicken chowmein if you’re visiting—one of the best I’ve had in Calgary.

Very good momos. Service was excellent by Kabita. She was very good and smiling which gave us warmth n positiveness . We ordered sizzling momo n steamed momos ,both chicken and both were amazing. I wish the size of momos were a little bigger or a little more in number per plate, may be 9-10 . I would definitely recommend it. In the photo the steam momos are 6 but given were 8, my kids couldn’t wait.

Ordered steamed momos (10 pcs). Told me they would be ready in 25 minutes. Went back after 30 minutes and the order was still not ready. Took them another 15 minutes to get it ready. 40 plus minutes just for 10 pcs of momos seriously?. Food was okay but not worth for 40 minutes. Will never visit again.

We were visiting this place from Bay Area, California. We tried all of their vegetarian momo options and were seriously impressed with innovative momos! Each variety was flavorful and freshly made, but the standout for us was definitely the “Timur momos”. The unique, tangy-spicy flavor of the Timur spice made them absolutely irresistible

Pathway Burgers and Momos – Calgary What a gem! Pathway Burgers and Momos offers exceptionally friendly service from the moment you walk in. 3.5-4 overall. Good food made fresh to order. Everything comes out piping hot. When it's not rush hour, need to order at the front and then they bring the food to you. Got 2 plates of momos, around 10-12 pieces per plate for like 12-15 bucks, not bad at all. Better than calgary momo house which is surprising, but also very nice. Fried momos had no oil in them which is very good, steamed momos are huge. Overall, not a "high-end" place to sit an eat, but the food is really good, and for the price the portions are good too. My go to momo place from now!

Our friends were generous enough to treat us to some amazing food and we will be back when we are in town again for sure. The servings were massive and the prices weren’t too bad either. Albeit on the salty side, their Salt and Pepper Squid was one of the best that I’ve had in the city. We had some Dimsum items and all of them, I really loved, except for the Deep Fried Radish Cake. It was all on me though as I hate radish but they look incredible. I tasted the pastry though and it had the most amazing texture, aside from they looked spectacular! I loved their take on Beef and Brocolli as they used short ribs. Amazing! The rest of the food were all tasty as well!

I give 3.5/5 for food. Had the dinner set for 4 (148.00)and Peking duck (49.xx). The duck and the pancake was oily, especially the pancake, way too oily. Not their best on this one. The dishes that came with the set, there were some hit and misses and they sort of all came out at once. Came out so fast we had to stack some plates on top of others. Usually most restaurants don't do that as that could be overwhelming. I think it was during lunar new year so they want to get all dishes out as quickly as possible to decrease traffic. The servers were friendly. Their yellow custard steamed buns and the salt and pepper seafood dish was delicious.

I ordered dinner by chance tonight and it turned out to be from my favorite Chinese restaurant! Everything was absolutely delicious. The eggplant, chicken and shrimp stood out, they were so flavorful and the portions were really generous. If you haven’t tried it yet, I definitely recommend it!
Linda N — Google review
This restaurant lives up to its name. The food here does most certainly taste great and is served by people who are friendly and genuine. This restaurant is nowhere near Chinatown, but nonetheless serves great Dim Sum daily. The ordering process is simple. They provide a laminated menu with photos of each item that you take a felt marker to indicate your desire to order that item. The hot tea ☕️ was excellent and served in a most brilliant way. They serve the hot pot of tea on a special stand that has a lit candle 🕯 below it to keep the pot of tea from going cold! Just like a buffet burner that would keep buffet items hot. This restaurant has been redecorated from the old Pizza Hut days and makes for an excellent Dim Sum experience. The prices are reasonable too. I am pleased to know this place now and will come back again.
John W — Google review
We ordered a whole bunch of different dishes. The ginger and chicken bun, some pork buns, pork ribs, pork dumplings, meatballs. It was my first time having dim sum and I must say I really enjoyed it.
Megan W — Google review
Amazing first visit we had the dinner for two. With dumplings and dry ribs and crispy noodles and chicken omg so fresh and delicious. We will be back
Kathey B — Google review
We had dinner here last time and ordered a few different dishes to try because everyone was feeling super hungry. We ordered Peking Duck, Steamed Free-Range Chicken (Half), Deep Fried Rock Cod with Sweet & Sour Sauce, Chef’s Special Seafood Fried Rice , Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu, Spicy Kong Pao Chicken, Braised Soft Tofu in Spicy Sauce and Sautéed Meat with Seafood & Mixed Vegetables (can’t remember exactly the name for some of the dishes). Every dish tasted delicious… you can taste all the different flavours be it sweet, spicy, salty and even sour! Our favourite is definitely the delectable Peking Duck. Food taste amazing here but they do need to improve their service, especially during peak hours. Overall, a nice place for family and friends to get together and enjoy a delicious meal.

Definitely not happy about the food and service, food is very oily! Plus they forgot the other food that I paid! Not recommended for sure with the food are not fresh!

Restaurant
Tibet Kitchen is a cozy restaurant that serves traditional Himalayan dishes such as momos, hot pot, noodle soup, and butter tea. The menu offers a variety of options including meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes like curries, dumplings, and soups. Customers can enjoy popular items like steamed beef dumplings (momos), sha bhaley (deep-fried patty stuffed with ground beef and onions), and gyathuk (Tibetan-style pasta soup).
A must-visit hidden gem in Calgary that will keep you coming back for more! Every dish we tried was incredible, with the chow mein being an absolute standout (must try) and highly recommend chow mien with chicken. The owner is incredibly friendly, the service was excellent, and the warm, inviting ambiance truly transports you to Tibet. The momo platter was different, we thought they’re like dimsum but it’s more like buns. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu!
Linda N — Google review
Terrible experience. The owner was extremely rude and came across as racist — he clearly doesn't know how to treat customers. We found hair in two of our dishes, and instead of apologizing, he started arguing with us and accusing us of coming just to avoid paying. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. The food was unhygienic, and the attitude was even worse. I would never go back and strongly suggest others stay away.
Ishita C — Google review
Had my food delivered tonight and it was so terrible that had to immediately drop a review in the middle of the night. I ordered momos and instead I was served chicken bread roll. In my life, I have never had worse momos. The stuffing was uncooked inside a lightly fired roll of bread. I don’t know what is it called but definitely not momos. I also ordered a dish with crispy fried noodles and stir-fry but the noodles were soggy and soft not crispy as it was in description.
Yuvaksh T — Google review
Good food, ambience and service too. Authentic Indian style momos. Can be easily accessible to downtown calgary in kensington..price also great definitely would visit again. But very difficult to find a parking spot that's the only disadvantage
Monisha S — Google review
I have never had Tibetan or Himalayan food, so I have no benchmark. As a traveler, I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The result was beyond words! The food was incredible, and the waiter went above and beyond to make me familiar with the cuisine. Kudos to them. It was an amazing experience.
Farshad — Google review
A truly cozy place with the soul of Tibet! The atmosphere beautifully reflects Tibetan traditions – from the interior and decor to the unique dishes and cups that create a special vibe. The food was absolutely delicious – everything we ordered was outstanding. I especially want to mention the owner: his warm smile, bright eyes, genuine kindness, and wonderful sense of humor made our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend stopping by to taste this amazing food and experience the cozy, welcoming atmosphere!

Absolutely love the food here. The Chilli Fries is always our go to. They remind me of the same ones from back home in India. Their dry Beef Shaptak and Chowmein are also really delicious.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, Hii Pot Hot Pot 囍锅麻辣烫 on 17th Ave is a must-visit! This vibrant hot pot restaurant invites you to embark on a culinary adventure where you can select your own ingredients from an impressive array of fresh vegetables, meats, and seafood. While their collagen broth is particularly noteworthy, don’t forget to indulge in their dumplings – they’re truly a hidden gem!
Really great food and even better customer service! We enjoyed our dinner. Also love that they have so many specials like happy hour free drink.
MilesWithMoonshyyne — Google review
The food was great. It was nice to just have one bowl of soup instead of a whole bunch of little ingredients to make your own mini soups. The broth was really good. The selection was ample. The music sort of feels like you’re eating your soup next to the pagoda stage at shambhala. Not so bad if you’re into that kind of thing not worth removing a star for. Come check this place out. It was very good.
Blayden H — Google review
Really cool environment,Loved the music taste! Staff were so kind and explained how it worked right away. Lots of verity and we had asked for a staff recommendation and was not a let down at all! Also Asked for spicy in one hot pot and it’s no joke either, was great! Definitely will be returning

I’ve been here twice already hoping the experience we had for the first time is different, still never had a great experience especially in their service but for the food is good. I don’t even know if the free ice cream is legit since I didn’t receive anything even if you go here on their happy hour.
Aloha T — Google review
We came on the grand opening expecting it to be busy. It was busier than expected due to the BOGO deal, but the staff did their best to deal with the large crowd. They do not have an online waitlist, but you can join one once you enter the restaurant. I wish there was a way to cancel the waitlist reservation because some groups left but they were still on the list, causing confusion and longer wait times. I think the staff working at the front taking in customers was Emily. She was very patient and accommodating with the customers even though it was so busy. She did a really great job communicating with everyone. I wish there was some seating at the front for those waiting because it is hard to stand near the doorway, especially because people are walking in and out of the doors. Because it is self serve, it didn't take too long to get our food once we got seated. It is probably faster on a regular day. All staff were really kind and helpful! They even came around to ask us how the food was. We got the miso soup and tomato soup bases. You can also add green onions, cilantro, and/or sesame seeds. You can also adjust the spice level for the soup. I enjoyed the mild spice. Lots of variety for sauce toppings. Very fresh ingredients and they kept up with refilling despite how busy it was. For drinks, we got the Thai milk tea. At half sweetness, it was still too sweet for my liking. It tasted a bit artificial. Free ice cream at the end was good. Nothing amazing, but nice treat to end off the meal.
Amy — Google review
Was our first time here and the staff were super nice in explaining the process! I appreciated the variety of broth and ingestion options. It was nice to have a scale at the counter while choosing your items as it’s $18/pound! Although it took a bit of time for the food to be prepared the atmosphere is a nice and the sauce station is well stocked. The free ice cream was a refreshing treat afterwards and if you utilize your items well you can get a lot of food for under $20 a meal!
Amy L — Google review
I had a great time here, the food was good and i enjoyed it. That said, if you're sensitive ti salty flavor and love your mala extra spicy (like my girl), this might not hit the mark since it's not fiery enough. But for me absolutely loved it!
E Y — Google review
We went on a Saturday night and it was packed — waited about 45 minutes for a table. The place has a fun, lively vibe and the amount I got was too much (you can take leftovers home). The broth was tasty but a bit heavy on the sodium for my liking — I was definitely thirsty afterward. The fresh fishi picked from the fridge bar was the highlight of the meal. I’d go back, but probably only do the fish as my protein.

Restaurant
Famous Noodles & BBQ Cafe is a delightful culinary gem located conveniently near Calgary Airport, making it an ideal stop for travelers craving authentic Chinese cuisine. The extensive menu features a variety of dishes, with the standout offerings being their signature wonton noodles and Chinese barbecue. Diners can choose from five different wonton noodle options, including the highly praised supreme wonton noodle soup, known for its generously sized and succulent wontons.
My first time at this restaurant. The place was very busy, and we were lucky enough to get the last big table. I would suggest arriving before peak hour, as I noticed the wait was quite long. The food came out quickly as we ordered before the rest of the customers. The bbq trio dish could use more marinate. The meats were bland and a tad dry. All other dishes were good size. Plates arrived nice and hot. The items we ordered were seasoned nicely. Staff was very busy as the restaurant was full, but still tended to our needs. I would definitely come back again.
Howard N — Google review
Great old school Hong Kong eatery. Which means you don't pay for service, you just get good food dumped on your table. And it was fairly populated, esp for being in a mall, so you know it's authentic. Some really nice art/decor touches too, & the tables are separated by glass so you get privacy which is rare in this kind of restaurant. Will go back.
-D. G — Google review
Decent Chinese restaurant that can be really busy, so be mindful of the time you arrive. The food is good, but it can get loud in there (not the restaurant's fault though), so it's not really the place for dinner and conversation. Every time we've visited, the service has been decent, so I can't complain. We ordered a claypot fish dish, ee-fu noodles, peking pork chop, and egg tofu with mushrooms. Everything was delicious.
George H — Google review
I have ordered the bbq pork noodles. Pricing is reasonable. The presentation and taste was good! Photo worthy. Lots of parking outside and pretty spacious inside. Enjoyed the variety of noodle choices on the menu.
A E — Google review
Really close to the YYC Airport (about 5 min drive). With that being said, do give yourself some time as they can get quite busy. Good taste, fresh ingredients, good portions and very reasonable prices! Dinner dishes were about ~$20 each. However, the space is either not very well ventilated, or the AC is too low, which hindered the dining experience.
Annie C — Google review
I ordered the stewed beef, tendon and wonton noodle soup. They brought my food out way too early and already half done my meal when the other meal was brought out for my lunch guest. Wasn't too impressed about that. The soup was alright. Didn't need to add any seasoning. Noodles could have been a bit more chewy. It was slightly overdone IMO. Our waitress was nice and did do a service check to top off our tea. Average dining experience. The noodle soup was 15 or 16.99. most items range between 13-17.99 in the noodle dishes. They have lunch specials for 13.99. curry pork, baked porkchop to name a couple from the list. **Returned - added more photos**
Jenn L — Google review
Good food but service not so. Not sure if their tea pot is not big enough or what. Ordering milk tea always have to wait for them to make and it's like 20 minutes wait - not the way how a Hongkong cafe run. Also 75% of the time ordering congee is not available!? Pretty weird the way how they operate as a restaurant.
R P — Google review
Noodles were quite good. Don’t expect any service tho (like any other Chinese restaurants)

Golden Central Chinese Cuisine is a spacious and casual restaurant located in the McKnight area, offering typical Chinese dishes like wontons, egg rolls, and noodles. The menu includes a la carte options known for their high quality and freshness. One of the favorite items on the menu is the baked egg custard buns with a sweet and delicious filling that melts in your mouth. The staff are pleasant and attentive, while the decor is simple yet functional with ample seating for larger groups.
Fantastic Dim Sum. Always great full of flavour and steaming hot. I much prefer getting it straight from the kitchen instead of the rolling carts. Better flavour and fresh. Go you will not be disappointed. A friend of mines father passed away and the had the memorial dinner for 100 there. Even with that crowd all was hot and fantastic

Came here because our regular place was having a private function. We were seated immediately by a friendly host (given the restaurant was empty at 10:30 a day after Chinese New year). This decor is very minimalistic and is just a place to eat. This place is kid friendly with plastic cutlery and cup and the service is very attentive but not overwhelming. The food itself is satisfactory, but lacking some of the flavour many other that dim sum places excel at.
Eat E — Google review
On CNY, we planned to go central grand but they were booked for a party so we decided to give this place a try. To my surprise, food was good and quiet especially on cny. We went there at 1030 so if you want a quiet dim sum, go early. I would go again.
E Z — Google review
It's a 'real' chinese restaurant. I enjoyed it so much. The food are so delicious as compare to Chinese restaurants elsewhere in Calgary.
Victor Y — Google review
We came for dim sum. The layout of the restaurant is awkward but clean. Can accommodate larger tables. We waited for 50 minutes for our order with only one dish arriving after 20 minutes. The rest of our order took the full 50 minutes and didn't start to arrive until after we complained. The food was very tasty but I'm not sure it was worth the wait and the price. Expensive for the portion size.
Christina D — Google review
I really wish this restaurant would do better with service and service time. It was so bad that what would have been 4 stars down to 3. We ordered a separate order ahead of time and told them to bring that out. We did a second order for rest of family. We had a big party of 14 but that doesn’t factor in since they are just dropping off food and not cleaning. We waited over 1 hour for our first order but only 2 out of the 8 dim sum dishes. Basically the entire service time was 2.5 hours for a dim sum restaurant which is unheard of. At least 2 tables who came after us got their food and left before us. We waited 30 min for them to get us hot sauce even. It actually was not too busy today. We asked our waitress why the service was slow today. She gave us attitude and walked away. We just wanna know! Should I come back? I hope the owner/ manager takes this seriously.
My H — Google review
I love the food at this restaurant. They have some of the best Chinese delectables in Calgary based on my experiences (I may need to get out more, but I'm not confessing to that here!) The staff are pleasant and attentive. The decor is open-air and on the plain, utilitarian side, but they can seat a lot of people and have some larger tables for big groups. Try it once and see if you agree with me about the food.
Randy E — Google review
Used to be our usual dim sum place as we went once a week. Dim sum's were pretty good. Service was good too. However, the quality couldn't keep up. Prices increased but food quality seemed to go down. It kind of got to the point that the price and what you are getting is not equal. We go there less often now. Too bad.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful hot pot experience, look no further than Big Bowl Hot Pot 大碗麻辣烫. This restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat adventure with a plethora of options, including various meats, seafood, and fresh vegetables to dip into your choice of broth. Guests rave about the welcoming atmosphere created by the owner and appreciate the extensive sauce selection—especially the classic sesame paste that adds a unique flavor twist.
SUPER AMAZING! food was delicious and despite the fair price, it was super good, when we came in there was nobody but my friend group and staff was sweet and recommended broth based on our spice tolerance levels! will definitely revisit
Wqhips — Google review
We were curious about this new hotpot spot, so we decided to check it out. I went with the classic broth, and it was super delicious. My partner tried the Szechuan style, it had a bit too much oil for our liking. Not bad, just not our favorite. The prices were definitely on the higher side compared to other places, but overall, the food was really good. A little pricey, but we’d definitely come back.
Linda N — Google review
Great customer service and they don’t put out too much stuff at once so they’re kept fresh and attentively asking if things need to be filled. Even comes with free ice cream at the end of the meal. We tried Laksa, classic spicy, bone broth and tomato soup and they were all super tasty. We each spent about $15-$22 and were all super full at the end. We will be back!
Gyann Y — Google review
A hotpot place that was $3.99/100 grams (April 2025 pricing) and soup base was free. We spent $30ish/person and wasn't full. The value wasn't there. Food wasn't that fresh either to justify the pricing. The ambiance wasn't there either with flimsy tables and chairs. On the positive side, each guest received a complimentary milk flavor ice cream cone.
Samuel L — Google review
Is Big Bowl Hot Pot serious? Saying they’re out of ingredients just because it’s Sunday? How does a restaurant that specializes in mala soup not have enoki mushrooms, bean sprouts, or tofu? At that point, the soup really needed to taste amazing to make up for everything—but it didn’t, which made it even more frustrating. Also, the ingredients weren’t even labeled properly. So how are customers supposed to know what’s what? Some of the frozen fish cakes even had a weird fridge smell, like they weren’t sealed properly. We finished the food, but only because we didn’t want to waste the money we had already spent. This was both our first and last visit.
Chloe B — Google review
Went here yesterday and had a great time! The owner is super chill, which made the whole experience even better. I loved the sauce selection, especially the sesame paste in the classic flavour—so good. I’m a big fan of spicy food but not my friend, so we went with the medium spicy option and highly recommend even more spicy if you are like me. Also, shoutout to their hygienic station—everything was clean and well-organized. We also got a free cone ice cream at the end! Will definitely be coming back.
Melanie Q — Google review
The food is absolutely delicious and full of flavor! The place is spotless, and every server is so kind and welcoming. Especially Jill — she is incredibly thoughtful, friendly, and truly has such great sense and attention to detail. I’m already a regular here and loving it!

New hot pot place with pay by weight ingredients. Classic broth with lamb meat was delicious! I tried classic, my family tried laksa. The laksa was too light for our liking, the classic one with extra spicy was really flavorful. The hot pot came out in large bowl for a single serving, it was absolutely great. Con would be the selection for ingredients was pretty small compare to other similar style restaurant. Service was fantastic, it is self serve place but they are so attentive and kind. They also give out a little soft serve corn as a dessert. Price is similar to other places. Overall I’d recommend!

Apple Eatery is a Calgary staple that offers delicious and affordable meals, including $1 dumplings. It's conveniently available on Uber Eats, making it perfect for a cozy night in. The menu features hidden gems like the Grilled Vietnamese beef sub and the curry beef brisket noodle soup, both of which have received high praise for their quality and flavor. With friendly staff and a variety of options to choose from, this spot is definitely worth seeking out for a satisfying meal.
I love this place. Great sandwich shop. The grilled chicken clubhouse is amazing. I don't know about the Chinese food. I've never had it.

Great spot for a quick, satisfying lunch with food court convenience but way better flavour. Came on a friend’s recommendation and was not disappointed. The curry beef noodle was absolutely delicious—rich, bold, and seriously spicy (in the best way). Perfect if you’re craving something hearty with a kick.

I seem to have hit it lucky with the opening of the plus 15’s and finding what I think are some hidden gems and the Apple Eatery is another. I’ve been there twice now having the Wor Wonton soup the first time and the Hot n Sour soup today and both were delicious. Prices are good, quality is great and the people are wonderful. Again worth the effort to seek out and. Enjoy some quality food. I may as well rename myself the +15 food blogger. 😂

Apple Eatery is a hidden gem in downtown Calgary. I had the Vietnamese sub and it was fantastic—the sauces, the bread, the beef, they were all perfect. For only $11, the sub was an incredible value. This place deserves more attention, and I’ll definitely be back :)

Updated review April 24 2025 because ai need everyone to know how amazing this place is. First the place is old school cool, I love the 80s furniture, and LOTS of seating. Second the service, the girls are incredible, I love them, they know me and my order from 100 feet away. This review focuses on their breakfast which is a bargain for the price because you can’t beat it. For $5.50 I get the best breakfast sandwich on earth, (I nick named it the dirty breakfast sandwich because it’s so good you feel a little dirty eating it). Look at my photos, the cheese stinging, the eggs and bacon. This sandwich is better than marriage, it always gives back, and it won’t cheat with an old friend with benefits from high school. I put pics of the building and escalator so you know where to find it on the corner of 7th street and 8 ave sw on the second floor. tell them my review sent you then comment with “thank you” for the joy you now have in your life from Apple Eatery. I’ll post about lunch later. .Forget A&W this is a million times better.
