This place’s baristas creates the best looking coffees I have experienced so far. It’s foamy, doesn’t get extremely hot and heated (you can drink right away without burning your throat) and the taste is well balanced, but packs with coffees aromatics and flavours. What’s in the grinder is written on a board above the counter. During our visit, they had Ethiopia and Kenya, and guests could choose. 3 | For some reason, I didn’t really like the vibe of the café. It wasn’t very cozy — maybe because of the size of the space, the loud music, the lighting, or how the chairs were arranged. Either way, I didn’t feel completely comfortable sitting there. I thought about taking off a star for that, but the staff were kind and made up for it. 4 | The café sells a wide variety of their roasted beans. They even have a takeaway window, so you can pretty much grab a coffee straight from the tram. 5 | To go with the coffee, they offer both sweet and savory pastries.

House blend is a dark roast (not my favourite) and therefore I picked the single origin. Milk is of the right temperature and texture. Tasty.

A very good café all around! A bit expensive, but the coffee is of great quality and taste. We visited pretty late into the day (17.00) so we missed out on some menu items, so if you want the "full experience" make sure to come early!

Went for a quick breakfast stop, pastry was good, atmosphere and service were inviting. Been here few times before, finally write a review to support. Some construction going on around the hood at the moment so not the most pleasant view now, but it’s just a phase.

Unfortunately the cafe had run out of sandwich options by 13:30 on a Saturday, which was about disappointing, and only had a few breakfast items remaining. There was also limited seating with an odd arrangement of tables. Nice to see the cafe is dog friendly though. The flat white was very good as was the chocolate banana bread. Also highly recommend the yoghurt and granola bowl.

A cozy spot in the neighborhood. I tried their weekend special banana bread, croissant, and flat white. I can say that the food was average. Enjoyable, but not somethind I'd go out of my way to have again. The coffee, on the other hand, was quite decent and pleasant.

I stopped by for breakfast and it was a pleasant surprise! The prices are in line with the average in Helsinki, but the quality of the pastry I had and the cappuccino surprised me positively. One of the best specialty coffee spots I found in Helsinki. Great, light roast coffees with pleasant fruity notes and little bitterness. The barista works at the roastery so she knows the coffee details intimately and shared great descriptions and recommendations. She pulled perfect, flavor-balanced shots that shone through in plain espresso as well as in a cappuccino. They also offer a nice selection of vegan-friendly pastries and sandwiches. I really enjoyed their cinnamon bun—it was flavorful and not too sweet (I only wish they could warm it up before serving). Overall, lovely spot. It’s a bit out of the way as a tourist, but I’d still recommend stopping by if you can spare the time.

Wow! Expectations and reality matched perfectly! The coffee was amazing, the matcha was genuinely delicious, and the toast toppings were so fresh. Everything was just perfect! I’d say the prices are maybe a couple of euros higher than average, but I believe that’s due to the brand Andante is building. If you’re wondering where to go for your midday coffee or breakfast, this is definitely the place to visit. Here you’ll find a tasty and light breakfast, quality drinks, and mouthwatering desserts - and everything looks super Instagrammable, if you know what I mean!

Very nice cafe. Free refill for the filter coffee, which is always very much appreciated. I liked the atmosphere, the pastries looked delicious. The staff were friendly and nice. You can browse through some clothes while queuing for the toilet.

Best coffee I have had in Helsinki (so far, though I doubt anything gets better)! The barista is very knowledgeable and is opening his own roaster soon. Besides the cappuccino I ordered, he made me a special hot pourover which was very smooth. It is also a good place to work (no wifi though). And finally, a special mention to the cinnamon roll! Very fresh and again, probably the best I have had in Helsinki!

Love this cafe. Japanese style drinks and desserts. They also do all day breakfast. Great coffee, but a bit on the pricy side. Space is very calm, even tho it’s usually packed. Highly recommend their carrot cake!

Lovely coffee place with great quality coffee, they clearly know their beans. They offer a variety of handbrewed slow coffee from more unique coffee beans (such as geisha/gesha beans). Their pastries were very tasty as well. We were delighted to find this place!

Great specialty coffee shop, pretty well known but lives up to the hype. Sooin is a very knowledgeable barista, super kind and very passionate about coffee. If you are into specialty coffee I would highly recommend a visit. He also roasts his own coffee!

A delightfully quaint and quirky cafe serving a good selection of warm drinks and sweet treats. I highly recommend the hojicha latte and black sesame banana bread. The coffee was more sour and fruity than I usually like but I much prefer darker, French roasts. The decor is eclectic with various different seating options, but the restaurant was a little draughty and cold. Probably depends where you sit. Friendly service.

it was such a romantic little spot surrounded by beautiful nature and lake views. We had a blueberry pie, a cinnamon bun, and a butter bun. all were freshly baked and absolutely delicious. The buns have a strong cardamom flavor, which will be amazing for cardamom lovers like me. but might feel a bit intense if you’re not used to it. As my husband said, after having a cardamom-rich bun, even the coffee started to taste a bit like scorched reindeer 🤣 in a funny, unexpected way! We walked here from Helsinki city center about 40 minutes on mostly flat paths, and it was a pleasant, scenic walk. The café has a rustic, homey atmosphere with outdoor seating right by the water. Perfect place to relax, chat, and soak in the Finnish charm. Highly recommend stopping by!

Beautiful cozy romantic coffee spot behind Sibelius Park! We got here by mistake because we were visiting Sibelius Park. After we dis all the touristy stuff there, a walk along the a lake called our attention and we walked over there. Then we saw this cute little cabana. We didn’t try any of the food (which looked amazing) because we had already eaten but we had a tea and spent a lovely time here. I am surprised I didn’t read about this place but it is something you should consider to stop by when visiting Helsinki.

Helsinki: --- Cafe Regatta is a charming little spot with an absolutely beautiful view of the water — definitely the highlight of the visit. The café itself has a cozy, rustic feel, which adds to its character. The coffee and snacks are decent, though nothing too special. It’s a nice place to stop by and enjoy the surroundings, especially on a sunny day, but it’s more about the atmosphere and location than the food itself.

Time flies and nothing changes. Luckily. Atmosphere here is amazing, so every time I’m in Helsinki, I’m coming back. Drinking coffee or a cacao here on the coast is just a pure pleasure. And prices are reasonable although it’s a really popular place.

I went into Cáfetoria for “just one coffee” and left questioning every life decision I’ve made that involved drinking anything else. The baristas here don’t just make coffee, they conduct a full-blown performance....beans are treated with more respect than most corporate managers give their employees. The espresso hit me so hard I briefly considered starting a tech company, running a marathon, and calling my mom all at the same time. The pour-over? Smooth enough to convince me Helsinki winter is actually tolerable. Atmosphere: cozy but not sleepy. Service: so friendly that I almost tipped in advance, just out of anticipation. Coffee: dangerously good. If you’re in Helsinki and skip this place, I’m not saying you’ve failed in life… but you’ve definitely made a questionable strategic decision. Would 100% come back, even if it means re-mortgaging my apartment for another flat white.

Their home made ice cream was yummy, only available in several flavors, recommend the banana bread ice cream.

Well I wanted to make sure that I had several visits in and had tried the products before leaving a review. Let's just say that I know coffee and have experienced some of the best from my home in Canada. I now live here and I really wanted to find a quality light roasted bean. Cafetoria's Gran Palomar light is perfection. Then, there's the baristas, the owner, the atmosphere and none of it disappoints. Töölö is my favourite location. It's a cozy place to sit on a rainy day, enjoy a latte and watch the world go by. I know that there are so many cool cafes in Helsinki, but this is a must for a special cafe experience.

We had a Rwandan hand poured and the dark roast oat milk flat white. Both were excellent, very clear in the flavours and well rounded in their body. The counselling at the counter which bean to choose was helpful. The atmosphere is light. All in all highly recommend.

A fantastic place for who love coffee. One of my favourite cafe in Helsinki. Nice atmosphere, friendly staffs, moisture banana cake. I tasted a cup of cappuccino, a cortado, V60 and bought some bean too. Everything was really good. Definitely recommend.

It is expensive. Americsni 5.20, the famaus dessert 9.90. The buffet in the weekdays is more affordable and you can refill your table&coffee. They can give you an hour if you came without reservation. I came here sunday 11:30 and it was really bussy inside. But they are saying that your order will be in 15 min. So it is good to be informed.

Oldest Bakery in Helsinki. We decided to start our day here for breakfast and experience the oldest cafe. During the week breakfast is a buffet.. a very good buffet at that. We did also order a cinnamon bun as well and it was awesome. Staff were so cute and lovely. The atmosphere felt modern but also historic. We enjoyed our breakfast here. I have heard there is long lines for the bakery but we were here really early and not in high season so there were no crowds. You can make reservations for breakfast.

Staff helped me to choose the cake. I had budapest cake. It was softer and smoother with mandarin inside. Coffee could be improved.I added open buffet pictures as well.

Absolute must-visit if you love cafés. This one has gorgeous interior, amazing staff and the best sweets. The cinnamon bun I had was huge, full of spices and butter. Many people here argue that it is too expensive but we spent 30 euros incl. the tip and I would pay even more for this experience.

Visiting Helsinki for the first time and a friend recommended Ekberg right away to get a taste of a classic Helsinki foods. Weather was lovely so we sat outside. I tried the salmon soup which was really nice and a cup of cappuccino. Everything was perfect. Staff were friendly and service was great.

If you come to Helsinki and have no idea where to go, then I would happily suggest Café Engel ! Close to the Cathedral, it's a lovely little place, with delicious food - and I have gone multiple times with friends. I would also heartily recommend their salmon soup, my personal fave !

I had reindeer meat and mashed potatoes with sparkling water. It was fresh but for first try it has different taste especially red berries. As a desert I had blueberry cake it was so delicious.

We visited Café Engel during a weekday lunch. Although the restaurant was quite busy, we managed to find seats without much difficulty. Orders were placed through the waitress, and I chose the meatballs. The food was served promptly, and the meatballs were decent. However, I wished there had been more sauce to accompany the mashed potatoes for a more satisfying balance of flavours.

Had a lot of expectations but got disappointed. The flat white was average as same as the yoghurt but liked the croissant. My friend liked his quiche. I hold a fairly high bar when it comes to quality in the cup and to the professionalism of the people behind the bar. Johan & Nyström not only met but exceeded those expectations. I had their batch brew made with the Strawberry Roast. While batch brew often plays second fiddle to hand-brewed methods, this cup demonstrated just how refined a well-prepared batch brew can be. The coffee was vibrant, with a clean fruit profile and a subtle retro-nasal strawberry note that lingered beautifully. Balanced, expressive, and highly enjoyable – proof that a batch brew can absolutely showcase the nuances of a carefully sourced and roasted coffee. I also purchased beans to take home, and the advice I received from the barista was spot-on. Their knowledge was clear, but what struck me most was the way they shared it: approachable, enthusiastic, and with genuine passion. Watching them work made it obvious that they not only understand their craft but also enjoy it, which is something you can taste in the final product. In short, Johan & Nyström deliver exactly what a specialty coffee shop should: excellent coffee, prepared with care, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do.

The interior of the cafe looks nice and cosy. Real nice atmosphere inside with the staff being helpful and understanding. It is a bit pricey for its location however the quality was high in terms of coffee. The reindeer and mushroom quiche could have included at least more meat as you could barely taste it. Overall a good experience however I could recommend getting pastries instead of actual dishes.

And the drink I've ordered was Iced Chai Latte with Double Espresso Shots. And it was simply fantastic. First time drinking Chai drink with two shots of Espressos. Work like magic ✨ This place deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for it's caffeine packed beverage, great service and spacious + plenty of option filled seating areas

We missed breakfast hours, but they had a good deal to choose 2 from sandwiches, chia puddings, smoothies etc. Food is tasty, the portions are a bit small. They offer free refill for coffee.

Didn’t have anything to eat, but La Torrefazione had the second best coffee I’ve had in Helsinki and they truly are for serious coffee lovers. It’s very near central Helsinki and the central train station and it’s the only specialty coffee you can get around the area (without walking too far). I highly recommend this shop for coffee lovers!

Went there for a quick lunch and was very pleased with everything. Super friendly staff and beautiful food. If you're not so hungry, then having a cup of coffee or a sandwhich are also great options. I ordered a beetroot-feta puree soup that was their lunch special offer and it was delicious. Even though the place is rather small, the interior feels quite spacious and cozy at the same time. Location is also very convenient.

The café is small but cozy, offering a variety of specialty coffee from Vienna. I tried two Americanos—one made with beans from Vienna and the other from Ethiopia. I enjoyed the Ethiopian one more. The breakfast was simple: the omelette and quiche were just okay, but the homemade bread was wonderful. The goulash, however, was exceptional.

I stopped in here on a rainy day. The owner was so very friendly. He even offered me the WiFi without asking. And I love the WiFi name.(see photo). My latte was wonderful and it was so lovely to get warmed up so I could go out and sightsee some more. Stop in!

Probably the best coffee in the city center, right in the heart of the capital. The coffee, which is quite rare, is organic, from Ethiopia, and—importantly—freshly roasted and personally prepared by the owner. You can also buy it as beans or ground to take home and brew yourself. The café offers a wide selection of Austrian desserts as well as main dishes, and it’s notable that you can buy real Austrian beer—there’s a huge variety. What’s even more impressive is that the café hosts different language meetups every day, so you can come and practice a language. Great atmosphere, calm and peaceful. Highly recommend visiting—definitely worth it.

Cozy but not my favorite place. Their coffee is a dark roast and I found it way too bitter. I was curious and tried their pumpkin spice latte and though I appreciated that they seemed to use true spices (it came from a powder vs a packaged syrup) it was unpleasant to drink as it was extremely bitter, to the point of tasting soapy. Pastries looked stale, so I didn’t opt to try any of them. Staff was very friendly and the place is comfortable, but I won’t be returning.

Great food and coffee, I am a regular. However lately very unreliable opening hours. Closed today for example Friday 10am. Whats happening? Frustrating when the only way to know is to walk to the door to find out.

Tried the mustard and meat sandwich, as well as their carrot cake. Liked both! Sandwich came in a cute paper bag which was nice, although unnecessary as I got a plate too. Both of the coffees I had were delish! Cappuccino and a ”regular” coffee went down with ease. Friendly staff! Place is small, less than 10 seats.

Very nice place with good coffee and sweets and very friendly service. We tried the salty caramel cake, and it was delicious. The coffees were decent but not spectacular.

The brunch options were absolutely delicious and the salads had such an amazing dressing that we had to ask the waiter about it, so good! As for the french toast, I wish it had less jam, for it was too much, too sweet and a little overwhelming. As for the drinks, they were good and so was the yogurt. The service and the place itself were great too!

A decent café nearby the Senate Square, vibrant colours in the cafe offering coffees, matcha, and hojicha drinks 😋 The raspberry lemon cake is delicious, fillings are just nice and not too sweet. This cafe can be busy with tourists so prepared to wait for an available table.

One of the best cortado in Helsinki for me! The vegetarian eggplant arrabiata during lunch service was top notch as well! Overall great place to grab a coffee and some savoury/sweet bites.

It's not a good place for lunch or drinks. The food is snobbish and pretentious. It's expensive and doesn't have the best flavor or presentation. The blackberry pie is dry, the cheesecake is tiny and partially broken, the salmon bites are dry, and the one with avocado is pathetic. The orange juice comes from a Tetra Pak. My recommendation is to leave the museum and go to the Fazer, around the corner, or to the Roberts Cafe. The service is good, but I won’t come back just for a friendly hello. I need good coffee as well.

Dreaming of their brunch right now. We went in for coffee not really hungry and when I saw the brunch buffet table I couldn’t help myself. For US standards it was a bit pricey but was totally worth it. Loved how fresh the food was. Enjoyed their unique to me way of serving eggs as a sort of crust-less quiche with carrots and herbs. The space was really light, open and modern with plants. Loved the overall experience and highly recommend.

The café has a charming shabby chic atmosphere. The chai latte, lemon tart, and cinnamon bun were excellent. Unfortunately, the service was a major downside— the baristas were quite rude and seemed almost annoyed by the presence of customers. Prices are high, but that’s to be expected in Helsinki.

Fine place for a cup of coffee, or tea. A cake or something savory could not be missed, so I got the banana cake. I would advise they cut the pieces in equal size, as they can be big, or just too small 😅. The atmosphere is cozy, like your old man's living room. Came here after seeing good reviews. The filtered coffee is meh, but the hot chocolate was really bad. It's just milk and some sort of chocolate syrup (?). The place is very popular, so finding a seat can be challenging. Although the name suggests it’s a bakery, the pastries seem rather ordinary. They look good, but the taste is nothing special. The savory avocado sandwich was left uneaten because it had a bitter taste. Savory sandwiches would be better if they were grilled—without grilling, the bread is quite dense and not as enjoyable. The coffee comes with free refills, which is a nice touch. Overall, I’d rate it a 3.

The place was pretty empty and quiet when we went there. We got two pastries to-go. We didn’t have to wait long in line and the pastry selection was pretty wide. The prices were okay considering it’s in Helsinki. The taste was also quite good.

Don't be fooled from the outside, which looks very sterile and just attached to a fancy hotel. Step through the door, down the steps, through the glass doors and into a little gem. Its constantly busy and has a very vibrant/bustling but relaxed atmosphere. Around the corner you'll find an array of fresh bread sandwiches with allsorts of fillings, pastries (the cinnamon bun is gorgeous😉) and fancy cakes. There are a range of coffees and teas too. You can sit at a table or more comfy sofas. It has a lovely decor.

Had the seasonal bun which had raspberry jam and vanilla cream with cardamom. Just perfect with a silky macchiato enjoyed on the terrace area in front. Peaceful with beautiful views of the park opposite.

I enjoy a great Latte, I am a HUGE espresso lover. The presentation of pastries were very enticing. So we decided to try both sweet and savory, paired with lattes. The prices were moderate, but truthfully just a bit on the pricey side if I were to be totally honest. To balance the price you're paying; the quality of the food was excellent. The bakery is on the smaller side, and was very crowded when we arrived. We found a space near the window and awaited or food. The presentation and taste was divine, and the lattes were PERFECT. The only down side is that it can get very crowded and it is not a spacious vibe, like the beauty of Heritage Cafe, but it is it's own jewel of a quaint spot for a quick latte and top tier pastry.

Cozy little place with breakfast options, baked goods and other desserts. Loved the interior. There are several seats inside and plenty more outside, with heaters to keep you warm. My only feedback is that I wished the pastry of the sausage roll was warmer and crispier. The roll was kind of cold and the pastry was soggy. Perhaps it's just a personal preference. I still enjoyed it despite that and would come back here to try other things in the future.

We visited this small café specifically because it is supposedly one of the best places in Helsinki for cinnamon rolls. The rolls were fabulous and fresh, baked on the spot. During our visit, an elderly gentleman even stopped by just for the fresh rolls. The coffee was also good, and the service was relaxed. A pleasant visit on the route from Czechia to Helsinki.

Had to pay a visit at lunchtime to test the new Summer menu and as per usual, Levain did not disappoint! The atmosphere is unique and the menus offer a wide range of both all-day breakfast and lunch dishes along with the sweets and drinks. We ordered two fresh Summer salads, one with cold smoked salmon and one plain, accompanied by an oat cappuccino. Really tasty! The staff was kind to explain us how the ordering process works the first thing we entered, even without us asking. The customer’s toilet had run out of soap and was not the tidiest I’ve seen, but otherwise an excellent experience! <3

One of the better brunch spots I went to in Helsinki! They have delicious brunch options, pastries, and specialty coffee. It’s everything I would ever want for a nice, weekend brunch. I had the Eggs Norwegian, a Flat White, and an Almond Croissant. Everything was really good and I was very pleased with the quality of the food.

Lovely egg sandwich. Had the menu with egg sandwich, müsli, nuts and yogurt, juice and coffee. 21€. Asked for cappuccino instead of filtered coffee, had to pay an extra euro for that. I total 44€ for two. A wonderful brunch, just a little too salty from time to time. Very friendly staff. You have to order and pay at the counter. Water, cutlery, napkins are provided. You just have to get them yourself. We will definitely return! 👍🏼☺️

Was visiting the rock church, however as the Church did not open until 10am, we decided tk fo in for a quick drink. Ordered the hot chocolate and the matcha latte. The hot chocolate was great and not tok sweet and the matcha latte actually tasted like great quality ceremonial grade matcha. The latte was rich and well balanced. Customer service was wonderful and friendly and this cafe is located just down the street from the rock church (probably a 30 second walk).

Paula who assisted me this morning was beyond sweet and incredibly helpful. I asked for vegan options, and she personally walked me around the store showing me everything from chocolate and jelly beans to pastries, sandwiches, and cake. Please note that they do not carry oat milk version of Karl Fazer chocolatees. I came in around 1000 in the morning, and it wasn’t crowded at all. The flagship store is absolutely beautiful. I had a coffee with soy milk that was delicious, and I enjoyed sitting outside while I peoole watched. CC accepted

Enjoyed this historic Finnish cafe for both breakfast and late afternoon snack. The memory of Geisha coffee and chocolates made us return. We enjoyed the pastries, ice cream and the candy and chocolate store that fulfilled our needs for Finnish gifts for our return home. Also great people (and dog) watching spot. Clean bathroom downstairs.

Fazer is the oldest café in Helsinki, so we wanted to experience it at this branch. The desserts were really good — we loved them both in terms of presentation and taste. Dessert prices range between 7 and 9 euros. In addition to the dining area, they also offer packaged chocolates.

I fall in love twice in this city. First I fall in love with the cakes here. It's beautiful and choclatey. And second I fell in love with this girl that I went the whole country with. I can't just get rid of these feelings until now.

It is a nice cafe, location is good with plenty outdoor seating but overcrowded and nothing special about it other than free coffee refills. My favorite cafes so far are Kasinonranta in Lauttasaari and Café Merreneito in Matinlahdenranta

During our trip to Helsinki, we visited this wonderful restaurant located right by the sea. It’s conveniently accessible, with a Hop-On Hop-Off stop nearby. We opted for the brunch buffet, and it was absolutely delightful. Even our 1-year-old baby thoroughly enjoyed the food! Every penny we spent felt truly worth it. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, making the experience even better. If I ever return to Helsinki, this place will definitely be on my list again.

Café Ursula is an absolutely wonderful spot right by the seaside in Finland. The snowy views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Perfect place to relax and enjoy - and the coffee is 10/10. 🌟

We were quite disappointed at the place considering that it had good reviews. It is conveniently close to the hop on hop off bus stop, and there is a nice view. Out of all the meals we had in Helsinki, this is a the bottom of the list. The bread was not fresh, overpriced for what we had.

Its hard to find good cappuccino in Helsinki, but this place came closest, it lacks a bit in wholeness of body taste, but latte art is nice and overall it did taste the best of what I tried here, so, if you dont mind to pay a bit more, this is a place for a decent coffee. Also view on the sea is beautiful and staff was all smile and very polite. Bonus is, that water is free afaik.

The cafe is the best in terms of location in Southern Finland. There are parking places 100 meters away from the Cafe. As a Cafe it's huge in size and contains capacity to seat inside and outside with a beautiful sea view. The Cafe desserts are moderate and up to the mark.

I like this place super fun easygoing have good food and easy-going service. Food is good I like the desserts there as well they make good coffee. I think it’s the best to visit this place in the summer I haven’t visited during the winter but maybe also can be good during the snow time.

I can’t find the right words, when it comes to describing this place. Cafe Carusel isn’t just a coffee spot or a restaurant. It actually feels like home. The staff is so friendly and warm, unlike most of other restaurants we have visited in Helsinki. It is the only place that has the best espresso, pizza and cocktails. To not talk about the view, you could catch some of the best sunsets here and enjoy also the sea view.

Paid 13,50€ for a day soup, here what I got, carrot soup (very simple and with no taste) + a salad which is not fresh and no other than the greens in the picture + a small piece of bread.

Very nice and cozy place, full of locals too, it's a bit outside the touristic path. Food was great, had fish and chips and a salmon pie, both delicious and well made. Great selection of drinks also, desserts, smoothies, sandwiches and other quick bites. The staff is super nice and helpful, they were patient to explain how everything is organized. There is no table service here, but that's perfectly fine, albeit a bit confusing in the beginning. They have daily lunch menu with soup and main course also, so great if you're living or working nearby.

We stopped for the locally made ice-cream and discovered a vast array of pizza, salads, cakes, pastries etc on offer. We arrived about 12noon & the place was busy. It's a great destination to aim for when walking around this part of Helsinki.

Spacious café by the sea with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The food is solid, and on a sunny day the terrace is a great spot. Just note that in the summer heat, some indoor tables can get quite warm and the sun shines directly in without much shading.

Brilliant cafe in the Alva Aalto designed Academic Bookshop in central Helsinki. A must for fans of 20th century architecture, the cafe offers a view across the shop interior with a chance to really see the unique rooflights. Chance for a nice coffee and snack as well

I've been searching for authentic Colombian coffee for a while, and this is the only spot I've found that serves it. The quality is outstanding, and the atmosphere makes it a perfect place to enjoy a truly great cup of coffee.

I just came from Stockholm and had many not so great espressi. The flat white was a balm on my pallet and my mother enjoyed their darker filter coffee as well. Spinach pastries were tasty too, with a nice punch of garlic. Definitely recommend.

Just happened to walk by and decided to try out their cold brew. I liked what I got. Maybe a bit on the thinner side. While there are a dozen seats or so, it almost feels more like a coffee store. You can buy beans and equipment here. If you’re a V60 enthusiast, you’ll have things to look at.

Not my style of coffee but good quality of coffee, I want to try different coffee bean next time, dark roasting one was a bit too bitter for me (but that’s how dark roasting should be haha), staffs were kind and not many seats but if you were lucky, its good to chill. Bakery were a bit too pricy.

Trendy coffeeshop at Vaasankatu, the quality of coffee served is high and the staff are knowledgeable about coffee. The selection of pastries and food available have always been a delight. The open wall to the barbershop next door brings a lot of personality to the place! The place is small and the ventilation behind the counter is not the greatest, so all that happens there may spread smells or fumes to the customer's side, which can be a positive or a negative depending on your view.

Lunch salad was really hefty and included specialty coffee. Gluten-free and vegan options available. If you liked your coffee hot and tasty, this is good spot for it. Macha latte was nice, specially with oat milk. In the heart of Kallio with friendly service and chill vibes.

This store is very unique, As soon as you walk through the door the smell of warm cinnamon rolls fills your soul, an nostalgic feeling. The mix of flea and cafe is perfect and makes you want to stay longer then you thought you would. If I could give 10 stars I would. I also recommend getting cinnamon roll latte!

The best coffee I had in my whole life. When I tried their Cortado for the first time I was lost for words, it was an explosion of fruitiness! It had such a perfectly balances taste and aroma of berries and chocolate, I fell in love forever and was counting days till my next trip to Helsinki to run to this place immediately after my arrival, what I did of course and got the best possible coffee again. Cozy atmosphere, great location, pleasant interior, it's the pearl of the coffee scene.

The coffee is pretty good and they have one of the best croissants of the city. :) There aren't so much variety but the products are so good. The local is very nice and comfortable. The people working are very friendly.

Great new cafe and wine bar. Karelian pie was maybe the best I have ever tasted, loved the crunchy crust. Coffee was good and beer/wine selection is good and reasonably prices. Will definitely go again. They could add acoustic boards or something similar, because it can get noisy with a lot of people.

A unique cafe, quiet relaxing atmosphere. The filtercoffe was great and we bought a bag roasted on the same day, freshest bag we ever got at a roastery. There is a no photos sighn at the door probably because there is also a sauna , this explayns the lack of photos here on maps.

The space is super beautiful, calm, quiet and minimalist, unfortunately cannot say the same about the food, the cinnamon bun I bought was not good at all but the coffee is better than in other places in helsinki but not mind blowing. The people there are kind and the sauna is good but there are nicer saunas in the city.

Absolutely lovely zen-like cafe/sauna. We had a delicious v60 (Kenya and Ethiopia) and a freshly baked buttery blueberry pie. Would definitely come here again if we have a chance.

Cafe in a beautiful building at the prime location in Helsinki should do much better. In short, ambient was downgraded by untidy toilets and dirty plates in various tables. Even though place was half full, waiting tike was rather long. Quality of food and treats were not great as, for instance, the humongous cinnamon bun was dry. I would recommend a visit turku cafe art, or other locations where historically valuable sites have been made into their best use. And to be honest, pricing is off the chart: a small non-alcoholic beer costs 9,50 euro?

I always admired the café's veranda as I walked along Esplanade. Finally, we decided to check it out inside :) It's a charming historical bakery with its original interior. We had a delicious carrot cake, one of the best I've ever had, but the cocktails were a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Cinnamon Bun and Salmon Soup are the must have in Helsinki and I’ve tick the boxes in My first meal in Helsinki ! The cafe is well maintain and clean, waitresses are nice, patient and friendly. The portion of cinnamon bun is big and really soft and nice ! They have other fresh daily pastry and I like their butter bun too! The salmon soup is very creamy and salmon taste fresh, a must have too ! We had the bake potatoes with Salmon as well and it’s great.

I ordered a cafe latte and a crunchy almond pastry. Both items were delicious. Luckily I found a table by the window and enjoyed people watching while eating but the table had not been cleared so I had to eat with the prior customer's dishes on the same table. The cafe seems to offer a lot of savory dishes as well including soup, salads and basic sandwiches. The bathroom could have done with a bit of cleaning. The cafe has a ton of seating that goes into the back and some outdoor tables and chairs as well.

Such a cute café! The soft serve ice cream is absolutely delicious, so smooth and creamy. The atmosphere is cozy and charming.

This charming cafe is known for its cinnamon roll. I thought the cinnamon roll was okay, but not the reason to visit. I suppose I’m much more used to a moister, and sweeter version we find in the US. Last month in Arizona, I had a cinnamon roll at Sedonuts that was nearly mind blowing. The coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere first rate.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Suomenlinna visiting the Fortress. Got the blueberry pie and hot chocolate. The blueberry pie was very tasty and not overly sweet. Complimented well with the vanilla sauce. The hot chocolate was just standard. Saw other tables with the salmon soup which looked delicious. Customer service was welcoming and very friendly.

Beautiful location. Very cosy place. As of food, you have to try their carelian pie - it is very delicious, but the coffee was so-so (overheated and so on), so the pie saved the evaluation, otherwise I would put a bit lower score. Very polite service. Toilet available.

Cosy and cute place for an afternoon tea while in Suomenlinna. Passed by the cute pink house, and hopped in to find a wide selection of cakes. Ordered a vegan blueberry pie with vanilla sauce and an earl grey tea. Good tastes and good services. It's quite small inside but there's some more seats by the balcony and few more tables at the garden. Recommend.

A Hidden Gem in Helsinki! We’ve tried several pastries at Tin Tin, both sweet and savory, and they’ve all been fresh, scrumptious, and beautifully made. The coffee is fantastic too! One of my favorite cafés in Helsinki! Tintin Tango charms with its friendly staff and cozy, peaceful atmosphere. If you want to avoid the crowds and lines, it’s best to go early. And if you miss the breakfast, you can always drop by later for a glass of wine. A versatile and relaxed spot for any time of the day.

An intriguing name which perhaps unites the owner’s disparate passions? There is Tin Tin memorabilia on the walls and a traditional tango was playing in the background while I was there. I had a superb flat white so was more than happy to come across this place.

Great place for breakfast (and more) in Töölö area! Heard about this place from another local and can only reconfirm what he said, it's a bit of an institution at Töölö square since 1990s. Breakfast offering is great and menus are honest, you get easily full on a medium sized already. Bread was very fresh and warm when served, all other ingredients are good and taste fresh too. A big big plus is that when ordering menu it's served to the table. Overall friendly atmosphere and staff. Definitely worth to return to this place! I've given a 5 due to genuinity, but even considering interior is not tip top it's easily a 4.5 worth.

Excellent food and drinks. I loved the outside terrace, the spaces inside were great and customer service was on point. The only bad thing is that there are not many power outlets inside the cafe, so if you want to work with a laptop there is only a few tables you can do it.

Nice location, but the burger was super expensive. It came a bit cold and too moist. Basically no service at all. You pay €30.90 for a burger, fries, and soda, and they don’t even bring you a napkin. You can’t leave your food outside because seagulls and other birds will take it. They put only three ice cubes in the warm soda. Big failure.

Lovely seaside restaurant to dine at. Plenty of seating outside, and they provide throw blankets if you want to be more cozy. Food was 10/10 and the portion size was filling. If you’re not too hungry even 1 order would be enough to share. The DJ was also really good. A definite must visit on a sunny day.

Amazing, popular cafe right by the sea. Open sea views. Good quality coffee, tea, drinks, pastries etc. Speciality being smoking oven, delivering tasty hamburgers. Can be a bit crowded when warm weather is present.

Excellent location, nice lounging chairs. QR table orders didn’t work, ordering drinks was a mess, draught long drink is an abomination of long drinks vs. The Original. Also a small fly or similar was spotted in a drink and it was just fished out by the staff (before handing it over).

Signora Delizia is a charming Italian Coffee cafe across the street from Tove Jansson (creator of Moomins) Park in Helsinki. The owner, Vincenzo, is animated and talkative - just what you wish for on a coffee break in the city. Currently, this late June of 2019, there is a noisy construction project during the weekdays outside the cafe. The noise makes it impossible to enjoy his outside table. There is a neighborhood historical pleasure to find in a poster to your right on the wall as you sit inside in one of the comfortable window chairs. The poster is of an active coffee and refreshment concession across the street in Tove Jansson park. If you walk over to the park, that concession stand seems abandoned. Graffiti on the outside walls, in bad structural shape that empty concession stand is a blight on Tove Jansson Park.

Cozy cafe with one of the best coffees in Helsinki. During summer they have delicious artisan ice cream. The owner is very friendly and you truly get a taste of Italy there.

Coffee is very expensive here, and is absolutely usual. It is very very small. I think that they even do not have a toilet for customers. They don't accept credit cards!!! It is the only place in Helsinki where I had to pay in cash...

Very nice environment for a pie or ice-cream. No one will urge you away. It’s nice to be here for some nice breath of fresh air. I tried the ice-cream, Tiramisu is very nice but double chocolate could have richer flavour.

I stumbled upon this cafe while wandering around the area one afternoon in August. I desperately needed to have some ice cream and I found this peaceful place to rest after a long walk. I really enjoyed the wonderful view over the Töölö bay.

My best cafe experience in Helsinki. I just happened to discover this place during my one of my afternoon walks. The view from uphill to the archipelago was so awesome that I had to order my coffee to enjoy this place. I tried their feta spinach pie. It was good too. But you don’t need anything if you can enjoy a view like that.

A favorite among locals and tourists alike, this small, charming cafe offers great views of the lake, a relaxing, quiet spot to rest, and is situated among the trees. A bike path will take you there, so you’ll enjoy peace and quiet away from cars and trams. It’s a bit on the expensive side, even by Helsinki standards. The pies were tasty, but I’d pass on the coffee - there are better places to get a flat white.

We went for lunch as a recommendation from our guide, we took the salamon soup and the grilled reindeer. First of all the portion size was big. The salamon soup was very delicious as well as the grilled reindeer will definitely go back again

The best cafe there is in Helsinki! All vegan and super delicious. Best in the summertime with the terrace. Only minus is that it is oftentimes very crowded (understandably!) but in my opinion always worth the wait :) There could be even more foldable chairs in the backyard?

The café itself is located in a charming 19th-century annex of Aurora Karamzin’s Hakasalmi Villa, set in a stunning environment (the villa has been a museum since 1912). It’s a true oasis in the midst of the city’s hustle and bustle. Even the busy Mannerheimintie next door seems to fade into the background as you step through the café’s door. Rakastan is a small, family-run business and quite popular, so be prepared for a cozy—sometimes slightly cramped—atmosphere. During peak hours, tables might not get cleared immediately. Still, it’s always a lovely place to visit.

Lunch salad options were unlimited with purchase of some kerelan pies /piirakka, enjoyed the goulash and lived the vegan caviar. Got one great pastries to go as well. The blueberry cream one was so tasty!
