Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Restaurant
Friends & Brgrs is a popular burger joint in Helsinki that prides itself on using quality ingredients and offering a wide variety of burger options. While it may not offer the most romantic ambiance, the food is described as good, filling, and affordable. The establishment also features a 'burger of the month' special, with past offerings including a reindeer burger during the Christmas period.
Friends & Brgrs delivers on what matters most - quality food and good service. The burgers are genuinely tasty, with a nice variety of options that cater to different preferences. Whether you’re craving a classic beef burger or something more adventurous, there’s likely something on the menu that’ll hit the spot. The staff stands out as particularly friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes the dining experience enjoyable. The service feels genuine rather than forced, which goes a long way in making customers feel comfortable.
Hassan A — Google review
It is right by the railway station and belongs to Finland’s most popular burger chain. The food arrived fast, the burgers were tasty, and we had none of the stomach issues we sometimes get at McDonald’s or Burger King. I give it four stars only because the self-service ordering screens were confusing, the English translation was messy, and we had to rely on our phones for Google Translate. Everything else was great, so I still recommend it.
Fabrizio P — Google review
Nice little burger joint ! The burger was nice, and the sweet potato fries just the perfect mix between crunchy and soft. The service was quick, and it was overall very nice. I do however would like to note that the menus aren't fully translated in English, so it's nice to have a Finnish friend with you :)
Tessa M — Google review
1. The burger is really delicious! Soft drinks are free from the dispenser on the side of the counter. I didn’t know at first and ordered from the machine, which comes with canned drinks instead. 2. The beef in the burger is super good compared to many other burger chains I’ve tried. 👉 A MUST-TRY place!
Wenny H — Google review
Very friendly service, empty and quiet atmosphere during Saturday lunch time when I was the first customer to arrive. I tried their Burger of the month Reindeer burger which was pretty meh 😐🫠 Lacking flavour, but very expensive cost me over 19 € as a meal incl. truffle dip 🤤😋
Fangda C — Google review
One of the best fast food I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. The soft bread is good and artisanal and is prepared in front of the tables, artisanal fries, freshly cut and fried. The quality of the ingredients of the hamburger are exceptional. Quiet and clean environment, open and visible kitchens, clean and very friendly and professional staff. The price is right. The drinks are self-served. I will gladly return every time I return to Helsinki.
Marco Z — Google review
This is a really great hamburger restaurant. The Friends buns and juicy patties, which are handmade in-house, are particularly appealing points. The Friends Burger is my favorite. It has an only one that sets it apart from other hamburgers. I love everything including the bun, patty, and original sauce. I go back again and again. When it comes to hamburger shop in Finland, I strongly recommend to eat the Friends Burger !
Daisuke S — Google review
The burger was delicious, but the ordering vending machine wasn't fully in English, making it slightly challenging to use. The service was friendly, and you need to keep your receipt for the toilet access codes. The atmosphere was decent, though the burger smoke made it a bit too smelly.

Restaurant
If you're looking for a taste of the 1930s, head to the Art Deco Lasipalatsi, also known as the glass palace. Originally a Russian barracks, it was transformed into a multi-use building for the Helsinki Olympic Games. The restaurant within offers classic Finnish dishes with a modern twist, featuring reindeer and salmon in traditional recipes.
Fantastic food, fantastic service, very high end traditional Finnish food. We came here to eat reindeer steak and we were amazed by the quality of this dish, everything was well balanced and perfectly flavoured, the steak was prepared to perfection. The place itself has a magical atmosphere, makes you feel like you've traveled in time a few decades ✨ I absolutely recommend this restaurant if you want to try a reindeer steak!
Lusi G — Google review
Nice historic surroundings in a building that was supposed to be temporary, built for 1936 Olympics. Excellent food, also vegetarian - limited selection. Waiter knew the selected wineries' stories very well. Some minor mishaps in serving to a table of 12 didn't spoil the experience.
Jari T — Google review
Had coffee twice here during my visit in Helsinki. The restaurant has really comfortable chairs and nice views (one side facing the main street the other Amos Rex), coffee is not bad. Worth a visit if youre nearby and its too cold to stay outside
T Z — Google review
I must admit, I had some doubts as the place was recently obtained by S Group. We had a wonderful afterwork dinner on a Friday. As we were in early, the restaurant started with plenty of available space, but coming to the end of our full menu, the place was starting to pack up. All of the meals were absolutely lovely. The tastes were pure, and especially the sauces were exquisite. The pikeperch was the best I've ever tasted. The waiter's service was very friendly and we felt that we were taken care quite well. The waiter's wine recommendations, which differed a bit from the menu, were spot on. I was very pleased that the waiter dared to challenge our initial thoughts on the menu and did his best to lead us to a better experience as a whole. If we were to suggest improvements, the room would need better acoustics. The plain walls and roofs will cause a lot of echo, and the room will sound extremely loud with all tables booked.
Photour — Google review
Nice chill atmosphere on the terrace. Nostalgic interior in. Lunch salad was fine. The Karelian hot pot had too fatty pork. Otherwise good. Sweet potato soup was nice. They had excellent dark coffee but unfortunately no desert. Have been here before at after-work. Will come again.
Arvo — Google review
Beautiful food in this 2nd floor restayrant. The reindeer was beautifully tender, the blueberry sorbet with the creme brulee was so packed with blueberries it must have been a health food. Service attentive and helpful...but it was very quiet...come on people its delicious and so close to the station...a pre flight location
Jill M — Google review
A wonderful old restaurant with traditional Scandinavian food. Fine dining about 60 euros for a 3 course meal. And not a tourist in sight! Salmon and reindeer options are done very well, as is the mandarin sorbet! Staff are professional and friendly. And the speak fluent English. The old saying of "where there are linen napkins, there is quality" stays true.
Gecko G — Google review
Good lunch place in the city center. Food is generally good. I'd recommend checking the menu before coming, as the more the menu is to your liking the better the experience. When I tried the menu with schnitzel it was too oily for my taste but the day with salmon soup was good because they have warm vegetable dish made with tomato sauce. Good coffee is a bonus to the lunch.

Restaurant
Nestled in the tranquil Katajanokka area, Restaurant Wellamo has been a beloved establishment since 1975. Under the leadership of Chef Dani Hanninen, the restaurant offers a delightful fusion of traditional and contemporary dishes, showcasing seasonal Nordic ingredients sourced from local producers. The cozy and romantic ambiance is complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine list catering to both traditional and natural wine enthusiasts.
Extremely delicious food and wonderful, surprising wines! We had the menu with wineparing and it was earthy, full and adventures! I can highly recommend the place and I will definitely go there again!!!
Charlotta S — Google review
Food is fresh and delicious. The biscuits at the end of the meal was alright, but i have tasted nicer ones. We had mixed pairing with the menu. We sat in the restaurant as it was quite cold outside. We are a big group of 8. Even though they fit us in, it was a little cramp and i was bumped into by the wait staff a couple of times.
Vic W — Google review
Every dish was delicious and its own art piece. Great wines and also tasty non-alcoholic beverages. Great for vegetarians also! The atmosphere in this place is cozy; the building itself is unique. To top it off, we really enjoyed the laidback and friendly service. Topnotch experience!
Alisa — Google review
By far the best dinner we had in Helsinki. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, creative and very delicious dishes.
Viktor I — Google review
Interesting flavors, but really small portions - our group admitted the next day they ended up eating something else later in the night, as we left pretty hungry. I honestly hate being the person leaving a review like this, but throughout the multiple-course tasting dinner, we wondered "when will the entree rounds finish and the main course get served", just to get the dessert come out aka the last course (which I loved, the homemade toffee cubes were so good!). As for the "interesting" flavors, I think some of the food was a tad overflavored/oversalted. I love flavors, but the the salt was really overpowering in some of the dishes.
Kristina K — Google review
Fine-dine in a idyllic classic neighbourhood cornerhouse. Amazing food and service. Lovely terrace suring summer

Very good experience! I’ve loved the 4 courses menu, every plate was really good with tasty and well balanced flavours. I think the main course was really terrific. Very good atmosphere and lovely service. Totally worth the price (witch was, by the way, very honest). Highly recommended!

K-Citymarket Ruoholahti is a massive supermarket offering a wide range of products, from clothing and electronics to food and crafts. The store has an extensive selection of goods, including unique special products not found elsewhere. Navigating the store may be overwhelming for first-timers due to its size and layout, but it ensures that shoppers can find everything they need and more.
The staff was so nice to help for finding the product!!! She also tell the thought she had with the product and the suggestions for it was really helpful!!! The experience here was great bcuz of the wonderful staff:)

This hypermarket is one of the best grocery stores close to city center. Large multi-level parking garage and a short walk from Ruoholahti metro station for pedestrians. Alko alcohol store is located next to the store.
Sami K — Google review
Why are the self-checkouts always closed in the morning? It’s absurd to make people wait in line with 2 items when perfectly good machines are sitting unused with no explanation. This store clearly doesn’t value customers' time.

Grocery store
Alepa, a local grocery store at Helsinki Airport, offers an impressive range of products including fresh produce, baked goods, and souvenirs. The store boasts a wall of bulk candy with various types of licorice, gummies, and chocolates at budget-friendly prices. It's a great place to sample Finnish licorice candies and European gummies made with natural fruit flavors.
For this traveler from the US, finding a suitable budget friendly supermarket that is used by local residents, not tourists is important. This smallish by US standards market is located in a neighborhood of apartments. The people there with me were all Finnish! I purchased some ingredients; a tomato, lettuce, Gouda Cheese for some rye bread to make a day walking in the city sandwich. I added an apple. Total bill 5,60€. It was a clean well lit and well organized store. This will be go to supermarket for my stay in Helsinki!
Franklin F — Google review
It's not a big store, but it has almost everything.
Oleksandr D — Google review
an excellent small store, you can buy a half liter of still water in a plastic bottle for 1.27 Euros. Large selection of products from local manufacturers and from neighboring European countries.
Y. ] — Google review
This shop abuses its clients, as it considers them as captive cash cows at the end of the tram line in a dead end. Short selection of bad quality expensive products. Some items are 30 % more expensive than in the first alepa outside of katajanokka, 500 meters the opposite way. Not familly friendly. Large selection of mussels in can, probably for the elder people's house above the shop.
Jul E — Google review

Ice cream shop
Helsingin Jäätelötehdas, also known as Helsinki Ice Cream Factory, has been a beloved destination for over a century. Established in 1922 by Italian immigrant brothers, this iconic ice cream spot offers an array of delightful flavors such as creamy toffee, zesty lemon curd, rich mocha, tropical coconut, and bold licorice. Visitors can indulge in generous portions of these delectable treats at reasonable prices.
These cost 6.5€ each, and it was more than worth the money. I love the licorice ice-cream! The arrangements for covid/ social distancing were great.
Pia K — Google review
Flavours are not real/good, clearly they use only artificial essences and not the real ingredients. Pear flavour tasted like soap. Huge portions, do not get more than one ball.
Miruna B — Google review
Undoubtedly the biggest ice cream portions in Helsinki! For the price of 1 ball at competitors, you get the equivalent of 4-5 balls (and it's called just 1 ball here). The taste isn't the best, the flavors aren't very intense, but it's still sweet and cold, not bad by any means and for the price-amount ratio I can't complain! Service was friendly as well ❤️
Random N — Google review
Huge scoops for an adequate price. Price to shop size relation is better than in most places
LeiHar — Google review
Biggest portions in Helsinki. From any other ice cream kiosk you would have to pay 15€ for the same amount. Here it was about 4€ Flavour and tecture could have been better but I was very happy overall.
Petrus K — Google review
Such rich flavours of ice cream. Try the orange for something refreshing. Apple-cinnamon is superb, too. Finland is the only place I've seen with pear-flavoured ice cream, defo worth a try, it is delicious. Big scoops!
Sara J — Google review
Went here with high hopes reading many positive reviews saying "Best Ice Cream in Helsinki" and "Authentic Italian Gelato". I only wish these reviewers one day get to taste a real Gelato and see how much better life can be. I'm normally don't leave negative review but this Ice cream was so disappointing I had a few tastes then threw it to the ducks. I had strawberry and lemon. Both were very artificial tasting and way too sweet. The colour should have warned me. Strawberry are not bright purple, ANd lemon is not neon yellow. I doubt a single real berry was in the whole tub. Also the texture. This is NOT gelato. Gelato is soft and smooth. This was just plain, commercial, boring Ice cream. The ice cream is rather pricey and (as a previous review mentioned) the pricing makes you want to get 2 or 3 scoops. The scoops are so huge that even if the ice cream tasted good I'm sure some would be thrown away. Good for the local ducks I guess. I think the worst is the expectation of 'authentic Gelato'. The use of the Italian flag. I felt so cheated. False advertising. No Italian would put their name or the good reputation of their country against such an imposter. I'm pretty sure there are EU laws against such atrocities as this.... In summary this was genuinely one of the most disappointing ice cream experiences of my life.
Max F — Google review
Truly a gem in the park near the sea. This little ice cream stand (and it's three siblings in Kaivopuisto) serves the most delicious traditional flavoured dairy treat in the city. Made with full fat cream, so rich and so smooth. The only way to eat ice cream is with a waffle cone, in my opinion, which you can get here. Heavy duty and no leaks.

K-Market Museokatu in Helsinki is a surprising gem for those seeking gluten-free products. The supermarket offers a wide range of gluten-free options, from biscuits and pastas to crackers and even vegan ice creams. Its convenient location makes it an essential stop for locals, with many expressing gratitude for its reliable stock and friendly staff. Despite its small size, the store is well-equipped with all the necessary items, making it easy for quick in-and-out purchases.
We stayed an Airbnb a few floors up above this shop which became our go-to for groceries, drinks, and prepared foods. While the range of choices in brands and products are understandably constrained by the floorspace, especially when compared to the larger versions of the K-Markets, this was more than sufficient for our needs. As an amerikkalainen whose functional Finnish is abysmally non-functional, I'm grateful for the patient staff who put up with my fumbling about in the checkout. There is a self-checkout option which has a very helpful English language toggle, but I didn't figure that out until a few visits later. There is another convenience/grocery mart just across the street which is also great, but this K-Market tended to win just by the virtue of proximity.

The shop offers a delightful blend of Finnish archipelago flavors and vintage design. Visitors can indulge in a variety of delicious ice cream flavors, including raspberry & mascarpone, apple-based options, and pistachio. The cozy atmosphere and friendly customer service make it an ideal spot to enjoy some tasty treats.
A quiet coffee shop with delicious ice cream made with apple jam, very friendly customer service.

A small coffee place with ice creams. Nothing extraordinary, decorated nicely.

(Translated by Google) Ice cream tastes good But the only snacks here are cookies General cafes provide many snack options, but here they only have ice cream, coffee, tea and biscuits, so there are not many choices. (Original) 冰激凌味道不错 不过这里的点心只有饼干 一般的咖啡馆都提供不少点心的选择,不过这里只有冰激凌、咖啡、茶和饼干,选择不是很多

Ice cream shop
You can enjoy your ice cream with the view of the water and the birds (geese and seagulls) that come around. The ice cream is nice especially after you walked in the island and want to come back. It is right beside the main bridge.
Ramin F — Google review
(Translated by Google) I haven't received such unhappily small portions in a month, the tiny ball was barely pressed into the cone. The frustration was compounded by the do-it-yourself, tired and far from cheerful attitude of the customer service staff. It felt as if the employees were serving under duress and wanted to get rid of the customer as quickly as possible. It's a pity, because the wonderful milieu could offer a great opportunity, and the experience as it stands is perhaps one of the weakest in Helsinki.
Jaakko V — Google review
