It is one of the most popular fine dining restaurants in Helsinki. I visited on a Friday for dinner, the place was almost full. So, I strongly recommend those who plan to visit shall make a reservation in advance. The high standard yet friendly service topped in my ratings. The atmosphere was also great, The pianist played soft songs that blended well with the ambiance. And, most importantly, the sound level was just right. The food tasted great with enhancing, artistic, yet practical presentation. The price point in Savoy is extremely friendly for a Michelin star rated fine dining restaurant. And as the price index here in the Nordic is high, this makes the price here even higher value for money.

We had reservations on March 13th while on our 20th wedding anniversary European trip and we are still thinking about this experience! This was absolutely amazing and everything was delicious. We opted for the vegan tasting menu and the chef accommodated my preference for no mushrooms. I circled my favorites in the photos but every single creation exceeded my expectations. The tomato, oregano and red currant pie was the best thing I have ever eaten in my life! Wow! We have never gone to a place like this before. It was interesting to watch the chefs cook, the servers explained each of the dishes and the chef greeted us on our way out. Everyone was very professional. The attention to detail was next level. Highly recommend this restaurant. If we ever return to Helsinki, we will definitely go back. Heck, it’s worth the return specifically to go here. Absolutely worth all the accolades and more! Had my birthday dinner here tonight and was incredibly impressed and overjoyed at every single course. The staff are top notch professionals with loads of personality. I opted for the non-alcoholic pairing with the vegetarian menu (slightly altered from vegan version) and felt they all were deliciously spot on for complementing the course. Very intimate, timed seating makes for a wonderfully personal experience.

Great restaurant with fantastic, attentive service. Food was for the most part amazing as well. Some dishes in particular were very memorable (like the scallop and the king crab with rose hip), while some dishes were good but not amazing (like the duck fat doughnut). Wine pairings were mixed. We booked here for an anniversary celebration and were not disappointed. The food, wine matching and service were all impeccable as you’d expect. I particularly enjoyed the summer veg and fish soup inspired starters. They have one sitting at 8pm and they bring each couple inside in turn, to a chorus of “hei” which makes it feel friendly and welcoming.

it was such a romantic little spot surrounded by beautiful nature and lake views. We had a blueberry pie, a cinnamon bun, and a butter bun. all were freshly baked and absolutely delicious. The buns have a strong cardamom flavor, which will be amazing for cardamom lovers like me. but might feel a bit intense if you’re not used to it. As my husband said, after having a cardamom-rich bun, even the coffee started to taste a bit like scorched reindeer 🤣 in a funny, unexpected way! Coziest cafe ever, just to enter you're hit by the warm wonderful welcoming scent of cardemum and cinnamon. Located beautiful by the water with a small campfire, where you can barbecue sausages and marhsmallows (which can be purchased in the cafe). Pies were delicious and great hot coffee was served.

WOW - what a wonderful experience. I just arrived in Helsinki from Tallinn having booked nothing and just going with the flow. I naturally walked to the main Cathedral square and was feeling hungry from breakfast 8 hours before. I saw a traditional Finnish restaurant on the square that looked welcoming and traditional. I asked for a table for one, but understandably they were fully booked on a Friday evening - however the lovely lady at the front squeezed me in for an hour and half slot. WELL, all the staff were approachable, friendly and warm. The atmosphere was original and special and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD (I had a salmon soup with a variety of local bread, a reindeer roast and delicious rhubarb crumble for dessert). You have to come here if you're visiting Helsinki/Finland. Book in advance to ensure that you won't miss out, I think I was incredibly lucky, but very grateful for the opportunity. Savotta is a MUST!

A brilliant Finnish restaurant. The food was excellent and tasty. Although the food was on the more pricy side, the quality and rarer meat (such as reindeer and bear) were worth the money. The service was friendly and the atmosphere cosy. Traditional older Finnish popular songs were a nice touch. I would recommend the place for tourists that want good quality Finnish dishes, as well as local folk for a nice restaurant experience.

Wanted to treat myself to one “traditional” meal in Helsinki and this was it! I got the reindeer roast— I had to. It was very tasty. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. It really felt like you were in a family restaurant with the decor and kindness of the staff. The portions were perfect. This super cosy traditional restaurant really makes you feel like you've jumped back in time : music, decoration, staff dressed in traditional clothes... The vibe is immaculate ✨ And the food is amazing, you get this comforting grandma-food feeling that is so heartwarming. I tried the bear stew, delicious. The pan fried perch is very tasty and served with a great tartare sauce as well as vegetables. I ended with the raspberry sorbet with liquorice, to end this perfect meal. Top notch experience from start to Finnish! Food and service were both fantastic, great value, and we would happily return. Stand outs from the menu (which changes regularly and showcases local ingredients were: The rustic homemade baguette!, Goats cheese tart, Beef tongue (special of the day) and the Potato skin with olive oil and peanut Swiss roll dessert. This last dish was very unique and really worked well.

Excellent dinner here on my last night in Helsinki. I had a 2-course meal from their new menu. Arctic char followed by peppercorn steak. Both were delicious. The service was also faultless. I found the staff welcoming and professional, and everything very well timed. Yes, it is pricey but that’s mainly due to the wine and less so the food. I did opt for a half-glass of wine to accompany the appetiser and a full glass of red with the steak. This is refined yet unfussy food in an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere. I’ve eaten well in Helsinki but this was my best meal and overall dining experience.

Absolutely perfect dinner. Super good food and one of the best experiences overall. My husband has some food restrictions, and sometimes it becomes a little awkward when eating out, but not here! Having two-time experience downstairs at Basbas Kulma, it was difficult to manage my expectation, especially I had to stay late after 00:00 to make the reservation for a newly available day on the calendar. Maybe I have missed something, but I cannot tell the concept difference between the two restaurants. Well the vibe downstairs was more lively. The food I ordered was just average this time, the grilled seabass was tasty, but the starter whitefish was too sour and the risotto too salty. I will still be a fan of Basbas:)

Aug. 12/25: 3.5 Stars, food missed the mark as it just wasn’t up to par compared to BasBas Kulma (we ate here three days ago). The scallops were unfortunately bland, the daily fish, in this case Pike was overpowered by the tomato, so with this it simply wasn’t a meal that will remembered fondly. Maybe our expectations were too high. The service was terrific!!

Went here a few weeks ago - amazing all around! Food was seasoned perfectly. And i like that some dishes leaned more fresh acidic & others more rich umami. Highlights for me was the pasta dish, the caesar salad, and the paris brest dessert. I really wanted to like the tartar more but it could’ve been served colder with some crunchier element beyond the pickled daikon. Nonetheless, all were still tasty and the wines recommended are decent and good. Service was very nice and friendly too!

Did some research on high quality restaurants, and based on all the recommendations Vinkkeli had received, decided to book a table. And true enough, the glowing reviews were on spot. High quality of service, absolutely beautiful interiors, beautiful tableware were first indicators that this was a great selection. We decided on the four course menu, which was well explained by the staff member. Everything worked, dished were absolutely excellent, paired well with recommended wines. All around an amazing dinner. We took one of the set menus with wine pairings. We did swap out one of the desserts as my partner doesn’t like coconut at all but they provided a perfect alternative. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Food was spectacular and delicious. The restaurant was cozy and elegant. Recommend making a reservation but we did book the day we ate there. This was a great meal to end our visit to Helsinki. If you want a high quality meal that is not extremely expensive this is the place to go. Can be romantic, good for business or a nice meal out .

We happened to turn up at Yes Yes Yes on a Sunday and mothers day – so lots of things closed and busy. They were full but squeezed us in. They were running a set menu of small plates. Outstanding! Everything was great – we particularly liked the fried gnocci and the risotto. The tofu sticks were delicate with a great dip/sauce. Lovely wine. Service was particularly attentive and very upbeat. Definitely one to go back to.

Had dinner here a couple months ago with my friends (a party of four) and I have to say that I hugely recommend! We had two starters to share, four main courses and two desserts. The food itself was above average good, but for example the bread-dip ratio in the tandoori bread thingy was a little off. My friend said her risotto was amazing and I especially loved the sourness of the rhubarb sauce with my asparagus. Plus point for the dishes that change seasonally to honour the ingredients that are currently at their best! The service could only be received in English but that didn’t bother us, on the contrary! The staff were friendly and polite and eager to recommend dishes and explain the differences between menus. The atmosphere was pleasant too. Definitely worth another visit! <3

The day before, the restaurant was fully booked and we couldn’t get a reservation. Today, we finally had the chance to dine here. We skipped the starters and ordered grilled pike perch and Wiener Schnitzel for the main course. Due to we are not very familiar with wine, we asked the waiter for recommendations, both the red and white wines turned out to be surprisingly good. For dessert, we chose the famous iced cranberries with hot caramel sauce that everyone seems to order and it was truly impressive. Great service, lovely atmosphere, definitely worth visiting again.

Good food & great service! The restaurant gives a cozy, family atmostphere. However the space is a bit small, and so many tables around. I’m a bit overwhelmed when sitting too close to other people. 😅

We went as a group of six people. It was a significant birthday for one of us, and we wanted to have a meal out together somewhere nice to celebrate. The whole experience was wonderful. We had the five course meal choice with a different wine for each dish, as suggested by the restaurant. The choice of wine was explained every time, details about where it was produced and what type of grapes were used to give the specific taste of the wine. I definitely learnt a lot.. Quality food and wine: beef tartar, Iberico pork, cheese. The only thing letting it down is a service, which was very slow considering just a 4-course meal. The tables are close to each other, but it doesn't feel crammed.

I was recommended this place by the receptionist at my hotel, and it was truly worth recommending further. When I walked in, I just said “surprise me” without knowing anything about what they had on the menu or what they were known for. First, I got both sourdough bread and focaccia with garlic butter, along with some Caster Liebart Cuvée Cécile Champagne. All of this was really good. The first course was beef tartare with thyme mayo, pickled chanterelles, and sourdough crackers and this has to be the best beef tartare I’ve ever eaten! It was served with Bottega Vinai Pinot Nero 2019, which paired fantastically with the dish. The second course was their Jerusalem artichoke risotto with Finnish apple and wow, the flavors in this risotto were truly amazing. Definitely worth trying when you visit this place. It was served with Domaine Gresser GC Wiebelsberg 2003, again a perfect choice for this meal. For the third course, they served pan-fried trout with potato purée and beurre blanc. The fish was excellent, with a crispy skin and a great balance of flavors. I never thought I’d eat trout in a restaurant that was better than the ones I catch and cook myself, but this was definitely better! This dish was served with Domaine Jean Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet 2022 and once again, a great choice by the sommelier. For the cheese course before dessert, I was served Ossau-Iraty and Fromager d’Affinois with homemade flatbread and some jam. At first, when combined, I didn’t notice that the flatbread had a hint of licorice flavor. But when I tasted it on its own, I did and although I don’t normally like licorice, this combination of flavors blended together beautifully. It was served with Canfine Castelvecchio Barolo 2019, which, like everything else, was excellent. Finally, for dessert, I had chocolate praliné mousse and blackcurrant leaf ice cream and this has to be the best mousse I’ve ever had. It was served with Arnaud Lambert Crémant de Loire, a really nice way to end this wonderful meal. To finish it all off, they served me a Negroni, which was also amazing. Thank you for the excellent service and delicious food! This was truly a fantastic dining experience. I would recommend everyone in Helsinki to visit this restaurant, such a cozy atmosphere and a super friendly staff!

I had the 4-course meal. The potato waffle was just okay, the truffle pasta was too lemony, and the crème brûlée was underwhelming—I’ve had better. The fish lacked flavor, and the fish sauce was too strong. Service was slow, but the wine selection was great, which was a highlight. Coming from NYC, the flavors felt a bit boring for my taste.

High quality, delicious food. Cozy atmosphere and nice interior design. The staff is adorable and very service minded. However, 5 courses of small dishes took 4 hours. Since we did not do a wine/beverage package, as we do not drink alcohol, it felt very very slow.

The kingfish was very good with the special green sauce. ( you need to order raw platter then you will have the king fish) the waitress and the chef were so kind, they gave me addition green sauce to eat with mussels. The lobster was good too.

Lovely atmosphere. A bit oldschool, but in a very positive way. Cosy seating, stylish Interieur and a tiny bit of old grandeur. Service was friendly, some smaller hiccups, but nothing major. Really enjoyed my waldorf salad. Fresh and intense - just as it should be. Also enjoyed the fish, yet for a Dover sole it was not exactly at the upper end. Really good potato purée. Not too shale, not too intense. The haricots were a bit off and too sour for my taste. All in all I would recommend the bar, even if the value for price is not the best.

I ordered the tartare as a starter while my friends had the salmon. I got to try a bit of everything, and overall the flavors complemented each other very well. A really enjoyable meal.

Ate the Amex dinner menu today. I chose the beef tartar as a starter and Iberico pork as a main course. Tartar was nice, but not the best I’ve eaten, could say that quite simple version of a beef tartar in general. But then the Iberico was awesome. Well seasoned, cooked perfectly and sauces 5/5. And the non-alcoholic Riesling was the best non-alcoholic wine I have ever tasted, I personally do recommend trying it for everyone - also for the ones who would usually prefer alcoholic ones!

Boulevard Bar & Seafood is located along a charming area of the Esplanade district of Helsinki and is within easy walking distance of the ferry piers and the town's main sightseeing areas. As a Michelin 2024 restaurant, it was relatively good but not exceptional. Service trailed a bit by the end of our meal and the wine was extremely pricey. Overall, an enjoyable meal but not one I'd repeat.

Seafood feast in heart of Helsinki city. It’s not that every restaurant I go to, everything is great. I do my research as per what I feel like eating before I pick a place. I really wanted to enjoy seafood in Scandinavia as I was close to North Sea which is probably the heaven for seafood. I found this place which had a passionate chef when we met him and extraordinary staff who was well aware of ultimate cooking temperature and all for most of the dishes. I had a great time with my friends dining here and enjoyed every bite of most of the menu. A must try place

Best seafood restaurant in Helsinki! Food was extremely tasty, huge recommendation for Pasta Vongole (best ever) and their signature dish Trout never disappoints. Very friendly and professional service with amazing wine list. And don’t leave without trying their Espresso Martini, it’s to die for! 100% worth of money! Must try when in Helsinki.

The terrace is hands down the best part of this place, such a great vibe, especially in the summer. Super cozy and atmospheric. The food though... kind of underwhelming, especially considering the price.

Had a lunch here today, we ordered Salmon soup, beefsteak and my favourite herring with cream brûlée and ice cream with coffee for dessert. Trust your instincts when it comes to your choice, this is absolutely 💯 recommended place to go! (I didn't get a chance to take a photos coz I forgot my phone in the hotel where we stayed).

What a lovely visit in one of the classic restaurant in Helsinki. Artist restaurant with it's own special atmosphere didn't betray this time either. Excellent service, delicious food and drinks, what can I say? 10 points!

Dinner was quite nice, the staff was friendly and food was good. I got the Artist’s menu with meat, the soup was a little bit spicy but good, the main course was tasteful and the creme brule was nice but a tad bit too sweet. However the atmosphere was nice and our server turned out to be Estonian as well so that was a lovely surprise!

Had a Finnish sauna there!! Really nice experience. There are 3 sauna, 1 is big sauna indoor, 1 is firewood with sofas type setting and another is the smaller facing the sea. Please try the sea faced is nice.

Löyly is a must-visit in Helsinki! The design and atmosphere are incredible — a striking modern building right on the waterfront, with panoramic views of the Baltic Sea. The sauna experience itself felt both authentic and welcoming, with multiple options including a traditional smoke sauna and easy access to the sea for a refreshing dip between rounds. Everything is clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully run. I especially appreciated the calm vibe: people respecting the sauna culture, alternating between heat, cool water, and relaxation on the deck. The restaurant and bar are also excellent for extending your visit with good food or a drink afterward. It’s worth booking in advance since time slots do fill quickly, but it’s absolutely one of the best ways to experience Finnish culture in Helsinki. Highly recommend!

A dream combinations of communal sauna, restaurant and bar by the beautiful waterfront. Really enjoyed the time here. However the facilities needed some good ongoing maintenance, a clear sign of current lack of good maintenance otherwise it's a great place to switch off and relax. Thanks ☺️

This is a must visit place while checking out Helsinki! The sauna is a mix of locals and some tourists. 3 different saunas and the opportunity to plunge in the Baltic was perfect. The restaurant is great for the après cause there’s literally nothing else in the immediate area other than a funky Skåne fisherman’s hunt, but I doubt they will serve up a delicious dish of torsk. I had the reindeer or was it the venison?!?… but regardless it was amazing red meat! Do it and you’ll have ikke regerts!

Absolutely adored my experience at both the sauna and the restaurant. The sauna staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. There was a great respect from all sauna users and enhanced the experience. The tasting menu and paired wines were brilliant. The waiting staff were excellent and went above and beyond for us when we advised them it would be our last meal before an early flight the next day. We were loaded with extra bread, excellent for mopping up delicious sauces throughout the meal and sent away with some cinnamon rolls for a snack later but ended up being much needed breakfast.

Great experience - sauna more than restaurant where staff could not cope with number of people. A location right on the baltic sea for cold water dips between sauna sessions. There are four different saunas: 1. An electric one with views over the water, 2. A traditional wood-fired one, and 3. A smoked one that is darker and has a distinct scent. 4. Inside private one sometimes open to the public. You can alternate between them and either hop in the sea or their cold plunge, and shower whenever you want in the communal shower area.

I visited at the end of October, so I sat inside. Tried the Elk Meatballs (with pork) served with potato purée, cognac pepper sauce, pickles, and lingonberries — delicious and perfectly balanced. For dessert, the Matcha & Pistachio — panna cotta with pistachio ice cream — was light and creamy, a great finish. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere, and visiting in summer would be tremendous for the sea view. Definitely worth a stop in Helsinki.

Surprisingly charming dumpling spot with great service Hill’s Dumplings really impressed us. From the outside you might not expect much, but inside it’s cozy, lively, and clearly popular — we were glad we booked ahead. We tried the pan-fried chicken dumplings, chicken satay dumplings, a pork bao bun, plus rice and salad on the side. Everything was delicious and exactly what you hope for from a place like this, in the best way possible. Portions were just right and the food came out quickly. Staff were incredibly friendly, spoke great English, and stayed attentive without pushing tips or hovering. It can get a bit busy and tables are close together, so expect a lively, medium-noise vibe rather than a quiet dinner. Overall, great food, amazing service, and definitely worth a visit.

We booked hills for a large bachelorette party. We had different eating restrictions and allergies that we asked to be catered for, and hills delivered above and beyond! They were incredibly attentive, supportive and great hosts! I can not recommend them enough! Thank you so much to the whole team that helped make the night amazing for the bride and the group!

My wife and I specifically targeted Hills Dumplings based on some recommendations and were wildly impressed! With a sort of fresh-ish take on a traditional dumpling house, the shop is nestled just a short flight of stairs off the street. Pop by the counter and place an order during lunch- we swung by around 1300 on a Thursday afternoon and while the place had several groups, there was no wait for a table. I highly recommend their dumpling lunch combination; my wife and I tried all 3 varieties of theirs and were surprised to find it hard to pick a single favourite- the satay was particularly interesting if you're down to try something new; but I'm a traditionalist and loved their good 'ole fashioned pan fried dumplings. Their pork bao is great too! For the price this is one of the more impressive little hidden gems of wildly high quality food and quick service you can find on a trip through the city. The first round of dumplings was more than sufficient but we found ourselves ordering another lunch order to share just because we were THAT impressed and wanted to try everything! Can't recommend it enough if you're in the area (or even if you're not- worth a trip out of your way for a great lunch).

Hungry before the show I b-lined to here. Unfortunately as I approached a lot of other people seemed to have the same idea. Which is a good sign if the locals eat here but I backed out of the stairwell feeling overwhelmed. Bracing myself I re entered and in all fairness was rapidly seen to and miraculously a table found for me. I was sat to the right side where it was actually pretty chilled and cosy. As you can imagine they mostly serve dumplings here. I chose the duck gyoza style in satay and the fish curry dumplings. To drink I had this tasty cocktail of sorts which tasted nice and strong. I am not exaggerating when I say these are some of the best dumplings I've ever consumed. They were the perfect texture, flavour and just wow. The service was very attentive and approachable. Would highly recommend and perhaps book to be on the safe side.

Great dumpling spot for sitting outside on patio. The dumplings come served up your way steam, fried, or brothed. Very tasty. We had the chicken steamed. Also got the pork bao buns. Very large in side and good flavor, but a little to dense and to much dough for my liking. Beer was delicious but hard to mess up.

Average portion of dumpling is quite small to adult so consider take ALL-IN portion. Nice food, nice staffs and good atmosphere.

Visited Bardot with my son and friends on a beautiful Saturday evening this Summer! Excellent food, superb location, friendly and knowledgeable staff with lots of wine! Wine selection is excellent and you can also ask to get pairing suggestions for your food. This is not the cheapest but guaranteed quality food in the heart of Helsinki.

The food and the service are truly amazing. We started with the Rockefeller oysters along with chips, and both were absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our mains, we had the entrecôte and the steak au poivre, and they were cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and everything was beautifully presented. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, making the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening or a special occasion.

Upon arrival, we waited for about an hour before we were able to order drinks. Soon after, we found out that the dishes we had planned to order were not available. The main course we did receive was so overly salted that it was impossible to eat (I usually enjoy quite salty food, but even for me, it was too much). My companion left their main course uneaten. We were disappointed with the food, and the service was also slow.

We enjoyed the dishes and the excellent service throughout, and we would eagerly return when in Helsinki again.

Walk in only so we came early, 10 pax in the queue n we waited around 20mins so ain’t that bad. Food & Wines selection really limited & serving portions not huge as u can see from the pics. We wanted to give the Jerusalem artichoke pasta a miss but the staff highly recommended so we decided to give it a shot. The artichoke had this nutty crunch n mushroom texture, really love it. King crab pasta was really miserable on their king crab serving but sauce was umami. Overall both pasta was a little salty in our opinion but still enjoyable.

Best dinner we've had on our trip so far. Food was very good. Atmosphere was charming. Service was outstanding - our server was so helpful with every request we made and he even gave us some tips on where to go next when we asked. Pasta was fresh and flavorful. We had the ragu and the pumpkin tortellini and would other both again. Even the bread was surprisingly delicious. Very small menu 4 or 5 appetizers and 4 or mains. And it seems there is always a line (no reservations) but even at 19:30 on a Friday night, we only waited about 20 minutes.

Lovely interior and quick, attentive service. We arrived at 9 PM and were reassured by the host that everyone in line would get a table, a nice touch since they don’t take reservations. The pastas were excellent, though portions a bit small, so starters are a good idea. The wine selection was great, and the server happily explained both the wines and the dishes. A cozy, well-run restaurant that I can warmly recommend!

Be prepared to que outside on weekends. It is however completely worth it! As a group of 3, we tried all the pastas on the menu and shared. Definitely recommend sharing plates and ordering multiple starters. The main courses are quite small, I recommend ordering 3 or 4 main courses for for two people or 4-5 main courses for 3 people. The best pastas according to our table was pepper cheese pasta and the artichoke pasta. However we all liked all of them. You might get surprised but the size of their beer, but don't worry they only costs 2.5€ each, so you can order multiple. The best thing on the menu was the mocktail, it is literally the best drink I've ever tried in my life, don't miss it, you can also order it as alcohol version. The service was genuinely friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was incredible!

Hidden gem in Helsinki. Decided to take a punt on this unassuming shop but the service was super friendly which made the experience the best. Sat at the bar and the vibe was 100%. Simple alternative approach to mainstream restaurants. Everything was perfect. Engage with the staff and try everything (we did). Will recommend to everyone. Visiting for 1 day from the UK. Recommend all the starters and must try the gnocchi.

Goose Pasta Bar is an absolute gem. The space is cozy and inviting—perfect for a relaxed, intimate meal. I started with a beautifully plated appetizer of burrata, asparagus, fresh bread, and a light vinaigrette. Every bite was fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. For the main course, the rabbit ragu was outstanding—rich, comforting, and cooked to perfection. Such a nice coffee roastery and cafe. Tried the espresso soda with elderflower and an espresso. Great strong flavors and the loveliest barista. We also brought some beans home with us. Definitely recommend ! ☕️

This place’s baristas creates the best looking coffees I have experienced so far. It’s foamy, doesn’t get extremely hot and heated (you can drink right away without burning your throat) and the taste is well balanced, but packs with coffees aromatics and flavours. When I ordered Spicy Mocha, it’s actually spicy 🥵🌶️😋 A place worth visiting for Instagrammable, cozy and proper café experience 🌟

A cozy-meets-industrial basement café with a comfy interior and a window for street orders. Their beans hail from carefully sourced origins, roasted on-site, and baristas handle everything from V60 to Syphon with care.” Locals call it their go-to, micro-roasters and Reddit’s Helsinki coffee guide even names it their personal #1, praising the baristas as among “the best in the city” . If you want coffee that’s both art and craft, served with integrity and just the right level of “I know my beans”, this basement roast temple is worth the pilgrimage.

1 | A roastery café right next to the Telakakatu tram stop. The oat flat white I had was good. 2 | They use beans from their own roastery. What’s in the grinder is written on a board above the counter. During our visit, they had Ethiopia and Kenya, and guests could choose. 3 | For some reason, I didn’t really like the vibe of the café. It wasn’t very cozy — maybe because of the size of the space, the loud music, the lighting, or how the chairs were arranged. Either way, I didn’t feel completely comfortable sitting there. I thought about taking off a star for that, but the staff were kind and made up for it. 4 | The café sells a wide variety of their roasted beans. They even have a takeaway window, so you can pretty much grab a coffee straight from the tram. 5 | To go with the coffee, they offer both sweet and savory pastries.

House blend is a dark roast (not my favourite) and therefore I picked the single origin. Milk is of the right temperature and texture. Tasty.

Finally found really nice coffee in Finland☕ They have nice selection of music🎵 Apple pastery was also delicious 🍎

Savoy Café ☕️ Coffee — tasty, atmosphere — nice, overall everything’s good… But hey team, don’t forget to smile! Service is “technically fine”, but it’s the warmth that makes the difference. Still, definitely worth a stop for a quality cup of coffee.

I had the lobster linguine and it was absolutely delightful. The lobster was fresh and tender, paired with perfectly cooked linguine in a sauce that was creamy yet beautifully balanced — rich without being overwhelming. The staff recommended a glass of Pouilly-Fumé to go with it, and it turned out to be a perfect match. The overall setting is elegant and relaxed.

Writing this as a native finn and Helsinki born individual. Really nice relaxed fine dining place. Located in a perfect spot by the legendary Esplanade Park. Big windows for you to watch the lively heart of the city. Were here with wife and 10 year old Child. Child had Gnocchies and chocolate mousse. We had the 4 course menu. Especially the white aspargus risotto blew our minds. Loved also the octopuss. Desserts were excellent. Staff was kind, authentic and warm hearted. Totally recommend this to any local or tourist. What a disappointment! Breakfast eggs Benedict is one small bread with two eggs and two slices of bacon with dressing. This delicacy is 14 EUR! This doesn't include juice, coffee or anything else. Total robbery!

I came specifically for the salmon soup, and it turned out to be one of the best I had during my visit to Helsinki. It was fresh, simple, and had a light creamy texture that I really enjoyed. The place is located inside the market, which made it quite warm with limited airflow — not the most comfortable setting during summer. However, the tables were clean, and the service was friendly and efficient.

Excellent customer service, super tasty salmon soup. I warmly recommend this place. Especially because nobody came to complain when I sat down with all our shopping bags while my husband dealt with the order. The dill oil is a nice addition to the salmon soup! Very democratic prices also.

Fish soup is quite watery, tables needs cleaning more often, coffee is quite bad (sweet even without sugar). Not sure it's good value for money compared to, say, Restaurant Fisken på Disken in Kamppi. The place is a bit over-hyped.

It’s quite popular, so I’d recommend making a reservation in advance. The atmosphere is great with dim lighting. The appetizers came out quickly; the beef tartare was good, and the octopus was a hot dish, decent taste. For the main course, I had the braised beef in red wine, it was really tender, practically melting in your mouth, but there was too much fatty meat. The catch of the day was quite good. The fried beans that came with it had a unique twist, though they were a bit greasy. Overall, the service was excellent.

Unfortunately I found this place very over priced and occasionally they hold events and we ended up sitting outside in the rain under an umbrella. I get the staff are busy and trying their best. But honestly for the food and price I didnt think it was worth it at all. It also took them a very long time to serve and serve food and the portion sizes were very small, hence it was very expensive for what they served. .

A nice casual restaurant set within an old house. Elm offers a good variety of options and everything we ordered tasted great. The staff were friendly and service was efficient.

The restaurant Elm is a charmingly bohemian spot next to the beautiful Kaivopuisto park. We sat outside on a summer evening and ordered the full menu, which includes shared starters such as creamy burrata, crispy and flavorful olives, and hummus with a pesto heart. The fish main course, pike perch, came in a nice tomato-based sauce with a bouillabaisse-style flavor. The saffron risotto with honey turnip and pistachio was very well prepared. The dessert, chocolate soft ice, was somewhat trivial although nicely cool. The very friendly and relaxed service fits well with the atmosphere.

Traveled from the US to visit friends, place was recommended. I was not disappointed. Awesome place for food and drinks great staff. Super friendly cosy environment, food was amazing. From the fish and pork, down to the corn. Chefs kiss! Will definitely come back when I'm helsinki next.

Everything about this restaurant is great. The atmosphere is great as we managed to book a somewhat private table for our group. The service was great as well. As for the food. Our meal is shared dishes, which means we share the food instead of individual portions. And everything was great. The beef tartare and the steak were great. Cooked perfectly. Their salad and homemade bread is another level as well. The potato was also great. Their desert wine was tasty. And the desert itself was also great. It didn't look like an appetite but one bite is enough to change your mind. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend this restaurant if you have the chance.

BasBas Kulma has a 4.6 rating for a reason (I am surprised it’s not higher), everything about it is unique and the food is absolutely delicious. VIKTOR & HIU ensured our experience was nothing less than remarkable, thank you both once again!! Because of the terrific customer service & spectacular food we are dining in the upstairs bistro in three days to experience yet another aspect of BasBas, can’t wait!!!!

The plates we tried were good, though the flavour profiles didn't lift them to 5*. The team was amazing. Really good. Overall, it is a worthwhile stop, but short of a must do destination.

I decided on full dinner for 54€. Amazing pre courses. Main courses was good but not as fun or interesting as pre courses. Beef tung was not great. With drinks landed on about 110€ Loved the staff and feeling. Was worth it as a whole. - for no Swedish speaking staff or menu’s.

Came here for Saturday lunch and it was surprisingly quiet. We ended up ordering way too much but everything was delicious. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is really pretty. I can imagine it being even more cozy and intimate in the evening. Would definitely come back!

Fantastic spot for brunch. Highly recommend and wish I had visited sooner. Will be back for dinner. Very well priced Charcuterie: Absolutely lovely. 100% order. Ordered the small portion and was enough for two. If you get the bread board as well it makes for a great pairing. Was fun to watch the meat be cut on the machine Sage linguine: Didn’t know what to expect but loved by the end of the dish. Suitable for nut allergy as they can remove the pine nuts from the top. Very summery and light. Gnocchi: Summery taste. Friend liked but thought the ratio of sauce to gnocchi wasn’t great. Needed more gnocchi. Shakahouka: Was the least popular dish at the table but the flavour was good. Eggs were fried on top rather than cooked in the tomato sauce which was different. Little spicy for those who don’t eat spice (so watch out!). Bread: Fantasic sourdough. Finland has questionable bread in my opinion but these guys have done it very well. Service: Very very friendly and attentive. Busy place when we arrived so recommend booking.

One of the best restaurants in Helsinki – and still a hidden gem! I’m genuinely surprised this place isn’t packed every night. We walked in without a reservation and were blown away by the whole experience. The food is not just seasonal and fresh – it’s full of talent, charisma, and a deep understanding of what makes something truly delicious. I was especially impressed by the salads. The Panzanella salad was so tasty I honestly wished they served it in an XXL size! I'm not always a fan of fish, but their fillet with yogurt-herb sauce and beans had the perfect flavor, texture, and a touch of Greek summer. The small churros made from fish were bursting with spice and taste. But what really made the evening unforgettable was the atmosphere – warm, welcoming, and relaxed – and the incredibly attentive staff. Nollita is a place I’ll keep coming back to, and one I hope stays just the way it is: quietly excellent.

We came here for an impromptu Thursday night dinner. I would highly recommend Nolita for an easygoing, delicious evening. The aesthetics and atmosphere are wonderful, much like at Elm, Nolita's sister. Most restaurants in Helsinki are somewhat bland or lifeless in that regard; here, you feel like you're transported somewhere. The food was very good, and in particular the starters were amazing. I think next time I'll just order starters because they were so delicious. That's not to say the mains weren't good - we enjoyed especially the gnocchi. One of the waiters (the dude) was perhaps trying to sell us extra a bit too hard, but the other one (the woman) was fantastic.

Nolita left a sour note with its handling of wine service: the light red was brought to the table at clear room temperature, far too warm to enjoy, and when questioned the staff insisted it had been kept in a 10°C fridge, even though the bottles were visibly sitting on a shelf at ambient temperature. Such dismissiveness only made matters worse. In a country where wine is already expensive, it feels careless and disrespectful to serve it so poorly and then deny what is obvious to any customer paying attention.

Our recent visit to Nolita in Helsinki was a mixed bag. While the interior is super nice and the mains were delicious, unfortunately, the ambiance was not complemented by the service we received. Despite having a reservation, we were not greeted warmly or with any hospitality. Instead, we were met with a curt "Can I help you somehow?" No one welcomed us or guided us to our table properly. Only one menu was tossed onto the table for the two of us, which felt dismissive. Since I really wanted to visit Nolita for a long time already, we stayed and ordered the bread plate with dips for two, a burger, and shakshuka. The wait for our food was excessively long. Even the bread plate, which you'd expect to be a quick starter, took about 15 minutes to arrive. The waiter sliced the bread using his hands, without a towel or proper hygiene measures, and then left it waiting for the dips for another like 5 minutes. This was not only unprofessional but also concerning from a hygiene perspective. As a bakery, we had high expectations for the bread plate, but it was a disappointment. The plate consisted of four thin, almost transparent slices of bread on one plate and half slices of grain bread on the other. The burger and shakshuka were good, which made the experience a bit nicer. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the shakshuka was interesting and delicious - not traditional one, mixed with zucchini and potato. However, these dishes alone were not enough to redeem the overall experience. Even when we finished our meal, it took quite a time for the bill to arrive. The waiters were engaged in conversation with other customers, possibly regulars or friends, and at one point, one of them went outside to play with a child. This lack of attention was frustrating, especially as we were trying to conclude our brunch experience. In summary, while the beautiful interior and enjoyable mains were definite highlights, the uninviting atmosphere and service issues significantly affected our visit. Unfortunately, double thinking now before trying the dinner menu (even though the menu looks very interesting).

Restored fish market (I am assuming) that now houses individual food stalls. We were there pretty early so it wasn't busy. There are free toilets in the back. We bought a delicious lingonberry mini pie. It's right on the water, near the ferry that takes you to Suomenlinna, a popular tourist destination. I imagine that the hall is jam packed during the day. There are hot prepared, packaged, and to go options available.

I visited the Old Market Hall (Vanha Kauppahalli) in Helsinki this August, and it quickly became one of my favorite stops in the city. Beautiful historic market with a great atmosphere. Nice place to try Finnish specialties like smoked salmon, reindeer meat, and pastries. A bit small and prices can be high, but worth visiting for the experience.

This hall was so cute! From cafes, quick bites, fresh meat, caviar, and bathrooms. What more could you ask for. We tried the popcorn coffee which was amazing and a stuffed baked potato. One of the highlight locations on our trip.

Must visit when in Helsinki! Definitely try the Eriksson fish stall for the best salmon and lobster soup and their amazing fish tapas. 🦞 Great souvenirs as well such a reindeer jerky, caviar and licorice. There are some good coffee spots too! ☕️

We visited Gaijin as part of a credit card dining offer. We arrived on a Sunday at 15:00, just when they opened. It took about 20 min to get the menu and another 20 min to get the drinks. The starter arrived at 16:15. Starters were ok but nothing particularly special. The mains were tasty, especially the ribs. However, the amount of lettuce felt a bit too little for the dish. We had to cancel a drink that hadn't arrived by the time that we had finished the food, and the cherry on the cake was a hair in the food. Restaurant was not exactly busy, and there was sufficient staff. Yet, service was very lacking, and it ruined the experience and fond memories that we had of the place. Overall, the food was good but not worth waiting an hour for, and the flavour was not enough to compensate getting the dish cold. Probably not going back.

Restaurant Gaijin in Helsinki is one of those rare places where the food is so transportive, you forget you meant to document it. I had full intentions of snapping pictures of each course—beautiful plating, vibrant colors, you know the drill—but that plan evaporated by bite two. When the food’s this good, your camera can wait. The cuisine is modern Asian with Nordic finesse—Japanese, Korean, and a touch of Chinese, filtered through Helsinki cool. We went with the tasting menu, which I’d strongly recommend. It’s generous in portion and beautifully paced. Every dish felt deliberate but never fussy, with unexpected flavor combinations that worked: smoky and sweet, tangy and umami, spicy but in balance. Think marinated black cod that melts into the chopsticks, beef tartare with just the right amount of fire, and dumplings you want to live inside. There was a bit of a communication hiccup involving sake. We ordered one carafe, two appeared. At first, we thought, “How generous!” and then realized it was an error. But the staff handled it gracefully, crediting the second with a quiet smile and zero fuss. The space is moody and chic, with a sleek palette and soft lighting that makes every table feel intimate. It’s stylish without being sterile, and the service, while brisk, was polished and professional. In short: go hungry, order the tasting menu, and leave your phone in your pocket. Gaijin isn’t a place to perform your dinner—it’s a place to devour it.

Delicious food with generous portions and so many amazing flavours. Ama also really enjoyed her mocktail. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it.

We came here for the Michelin guide recommendation, however we were utterly disappointed. We waited more than an hour for our main courses. When the time came for them to come to the table, the waiter came up to us and just said “I took the wrong order” and apologized. We had a pregnant person in our party and the mistaken order was raw fish. The pregnant family member had to wait for more than two hours just to get something to eat. When the food came, it was only okay. Most of the orders came cold anyway.

Great idea, some what dissapointing execution Waguy beef excellent, octopus not suitable for individual bbq at all. Rice was completely destroyed, not even a porridge, but more like smashed. The people seated next to us kept complaining about the bbq as they did NOT do the bbq themselves, but were placed to sit there. Such an awful noise that we were unable to discuss – at all. Great flavours and structures in the starters, but the entire menu – which looked very good on paper – was just too much and some dished raised eyebrows, like why serve a full size portion of noodles with heavy sauce in the middle of the bbq when that alone was enough to fill tummies. Plates were not changed (e.g. between fish and meet) unless we asked to do so. Wet wipes would have been useful. The marinade in one meat was just bad with way too much garlic; why spoil a perfectly good meat with a forced marinade. Service started slow, first meet for bbq after 1 hour, but then in the end we were rushed to finish our eating. We hope that the menu is revised and that the idea will fly one day.

We ordered the mini tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The waitress recommended Wakayama Lover as a cocktail, I can tell you it was the most delicious cocktail I have ever had and was suprised it was Aperol based!! The food was delicious, a bit longer wait in between the dishes but we didn’t mind at all. The Bulgogi and shrimp was outstanding - so I highly recommend those dishes. The only downside was the noisy atmosphere, which made it harder to have a proper conversation, but it is a very cozy and intimate atmosphere overall. So just be aware if you don’t like louder restaurants.

We ordered a set menu (79€/person) plus we added their wine pairing set which made our dining experience extra special. 🙂 It was absolutely delicious! Thinking about the price of the menu, I think its a reasonable price with the variety of dishes you’ve get. Given already that Finland is an expensive country to begin with. But, the quality of the food and overall experience- Its total worth it! 💛 The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They were attentive to us despite that the restaurant was very busy. I never felt rushed eating which I appreciate very much. I like how they pay attention to us, they offered to refill our rice, change the plates, etc.. 🙂 Just a downside, is the space. Its a bit too crowded. Nonetheless, we would definitely recommend to try this restaurant 💛

We stopped here for quick lunch. We had 2 pizzas : margarita and prosciutto. They were delicious. The crust is perfectly soft with a nice char, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is cozy and lively, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Service can be a bit slow during busy hours, but the quality of the food makes it worth the wait. Also cappuccino and latte was delicious. It served with a little cookie and chocolate. Great food and great location. Went there with a friend because we heard it was one of the best places not only in Finland but also worldwide. The pizza and dessert (I had prosciutto e funghi and then tiramisu) was fantastic, service was excellent, and it wasn't crowded or noisy at all. Nice and quiet place for good food, and the price felt very reasonable.

Prior to my visit I learnt that it's the first and only pizzeria in Finland certified by the True Neapolitan Pizza Association (AVPN). And it increased my curiosity even more. The results? Hands down one of the best pizza experiences of my life. Honestly, I might not have had a better pizza even in Italy. This is exactly what I look for in a pizza, and they deliver it perfectly. I visited the place twice and tried four different pizzas in total. The dough, the cheese and the sauce were so amazing together that the one satisfied me most was their classic Margherita. 100% recommend, no doubt.

Pizza was OK. We had a Marghareta and Puttanesca 2.0 It was good solid pizza but dough and tomato sauce was lacking flavour. That made marghareta leaving something misding. In puttanesca, all strong salty toppings made it closer. But all in all... place was good mood and servicevand everything else great.

I loved my Ponente pizza! My family members had different pizzas with mixed reviews. The pizzas were Bambino (kids) Ham (too sweet and gummy to my son), Diavola (just right per my son), and Boscosa (unique, good, but uncertain for pizza per my father). Tiramisu tasted good. Very good service and calm atmosphere. Worth a visit, especially if you like pizza and visiting nearby including at Helsinki Cathedral. Beautiful and short walk to the restaurant.

Pizza was great. Was not scorched. Had taste. Although the tomatosauce was a bit soggy. Still dough managed to be very firm. Asked for olive oil as side order. They put it directly on pizza. Didnt bother though. Also ordered two beers. Had to remind the waitress to bring them. Pizza was probably the best napolitan i have had in Finland. So i thought to go for a tiramisu. But unfortunately the tiramisu was very wet and soggy. Overall it was a good experience. Although a bit pricey. If you visit Finland. I recommend to try a good old ”känkky and beer” from sivuraide or any other local pizzeria. 😂

We had a couple of drinks on a Saturday night around the corner and this place was the ultimate location to go for dinner. With a 10 minute waiting time, no complaints in regards to the speed of the food being served. It took 10-15 minutes after making our order to receive my Cacio e pepe pizza. Delicious! Some more meat, in this case Guanciale, could have been added to be honest. Interesting name for a pizza, as the pasta variant does not contain meat. It would have been a carbonara pizza? Nevertheless, I would come back to try the other pizzas:) Ohh, and the home made tiramisu is tasty too!

This restaurant is located very close to the center of Helsinki, which makes parking a bit challenging, but it’s definitely worth a visit. The interior is warm and inviting, creating a cozy atmosphere to enjoy your meal. The staff were polite and friendly, and the food quality was excellent, the Italian-style pizzas were delicious, especially by Finnish standards. I was really satisfied with the pizzas I tried. They also have a bar, so you can order both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with your meal. I visited on a holiday, but I’ve heard they offer a lunch buffet on regular weekdays, which is another reason to come back and try more.

Super relaxed place with really cool music — very hip vibe. The pizza was insanely good, with a super thin base and a perfectly crispy crust, almost like in Italy. The only thing that was a bit annoying (which wasn’t the restaurant’s fault) were the seagulls. The staff did their best to clear away leftover food quickly, but sometimes it was just too late, and the birds went for it. Other than that, there’s really nothing to complain about. I’d definitely go back! Especially in the evening, I bet it turns into a really cool bar atmosphere.

We tried the Chilli Caesar Pizza and the burrata. The pizza wasn’t too spicy, so those who are hesitant can give it a try. The burrata was also decent. The staff were very attentive, and the place has a vibrant atmosphere. Pizza: 4/5 Burrata: 3.5/5

truly exceptional atmosphere, beautiful lights and artwork displayed, stopped by on a friday during a busy evening and yet service was prompt and yet did not feel rushed the pizza was by far one of the best i’ve had, took a chance on avocado and bacon and did not regret it in the slightest! i am visiting helsinki on a short trip and would highly recommend this establishment to either a local or tourist

I would certainly recommend this place. Nice pizza, with a gluten-free option for an additional cost that was also nice. The nachos were tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa, no cheese, which was a shame, but the salsa and guacamole was tasty. Staff were very efficient if a little unwelcoming. Decent atmosphere and an overall pleasant experience.

A great spot for casual get-togethers and after-parties! For our purposes this was spot-on place to be. Our group reserved the cozy downstairs space (the cellar), and the atmosphere was just right for relaxing with friends. The food was tasty, and the staff was professional and incredibly friendly. Definitely planning to host another gathering here in the future.

Enjoyed our dinner overall. A small mistake on the drink order and a rather long wait time to receive drinks but after that everything went well. We tried 5 different pastas, few starters and desserts. Food was good and as expected a bit better pasta than in your regular diner. Can still be improved to get closer to perfection but we left satisfied.

From beginning to end, the evening was a genuine pleasure. I've been to Locanda Scappi several times now and the food never disappoints. Especially their Cacio e Pepe ravioli with sage and butter sauce hits the spot. Personnel is very knowledgeable and friendly. Only slight improvement to be made is the appetizer/side prices - 17 euros for an appetizer and 9 euros for a side of essentially 8 pieces of potato is a bit over the top. Lovely food though!

An exceptional Italian dining experience! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the flavors rich and authentic, and the service warm and attentive. The ambience gave us the feeling of experiencing a very modern Italy. Highly recommended!

Best Italian 🇮🇹 restaurant in town so far it’s delicious and service is top notch amazing atmosphere great looking terrace and the whole team is matching. Love the taste of everything pasta is amazing and the Tuna tartar is sexy and beef tartar is amazing. My favourite was the phone wire 😂 it’s delicious and tiramisu is amazing.

Wow! Just wow! Delicious food with a great variety. We had Tom as our server and we couldn’t have asked for a better service! Highly recommend!

Pizza was hot and tasty, although the crust was a bit too crumbly for my liking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, however, I ordered the Grand Salami to go and they only gave me the toppings in a box, not the actual pizza, which was odd (and didn’t have time to wait for them to cook, correct the error). Location was the real highlight of the restaurant being on the water, perfect to visit with friends on a nice day! Advice: pay €5 onto your food bill to get your water taxi ticket (both ways) covered. It’s €7 otherwise from the taxi driver.

It was a lovely experience, seaside and feeling. Kids loved it too and loved to play around. DJ’s were playing and the mood was chill. Pizzas were exotic which is nice as I think they can’t really beat the Italian pizza in any case. This made their pizzas a thing. We spend good 150€ for food and drinks at Skiffer and it was an anticlimax when we still needed to pay 7€ pp on the way back of a one minute boat ride.

Great atmosphere and pizza on a nice day. We had the Margherita pizza with some added toppings. Good size for one or two, thin crust, cooked just right, good amount of toppings, good drink selection. Pricing seemed typical for the city. We took the boat on the other side of the island so our visit included a nice time walking around. Recommended to friends, will return.

What a gem of a restaurant! You have to get a little boat over, takes 30 seconds and runs all day. Costs €7 return for adult (only hss restaurant is free boat). Immaculate vibes, loads of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunset. Delicious pizzas and really reasonably priced. Would highly recommend getting a few and sharing. Our fav was the surf & turf but they were all great.

Pizza with “cherry tomatoes” and it arrives half of a cherry tomatoe on your pizza…how would you feel…? Then you ask the waitress if its normal and she barely answer you. Food average, service bad, place nice.

Perfect for a sunny day 💙 I tried the Salami and ‘Surf & Turf’ pizzas and it was delicious. In love with the crispy thin base. My favourite is the ‘Surf & Turf’. It comes with cilantro and chilli slices which went so well with the chorizo and crayfish topping. The salami pizza was a little salty to my taste but rich and fragrant. Will come again to try other choices on the pizza menu.

Ambiance is legit! You can get here by water taxi. Tickets can be purchased at the skiffer. Chill house DJ spinnin some mellow beats. Salads & flatbread. The Margharita (although good) was outside its price point. Backstory is pretty cool. Full bar. Beers on tap. Restrooms nearby. Convenience items in connected store. Sailing lessons nearby. I love it here.

Wow! Expectations and reality matched perfectly! The coffee was amazing, the matcha was genuinely delicious, and the toast toppings were so fresh. Everything was just perfect! I’d say the prices are maybe a couple of euros higher than average, but I believe that’s due to the brand Andante is building. If you’re wondering where to go for your midday coffee or breakfast, this is definitely the place to visit. Here you’ll find a tasty and light breakfast, quality drinks, and mouthwatering desserts - and everything looks super Instagrammable, if you know what I mean!

Very nice cafe. Free refill for the filter coffee, which is always very much appreciated. I liked the atmosphere, the pastries looked delicious. The staff were friendly and nice. You can browse through some clothes while queuing for the toilet.

Best coffee I have had in Helsinki (so far, though I doubt anything gets better)! The barista is very knowledgeable and is opening his own roaster soon. Besides the cappuccino I ordered, he made me a special hot pourover which was very smooth. It is also a good place to work (no wifi though). And finally, a special mention to the cinnamon roll! Very fresh and again, probably the best I have had in Helsinki!

Lovely coffee place with great quality coffee, they clearly know their beans. They offer a variety of handbrewed slow coffee from more unique coffee beans (such as geisha/gesha beans). Their pastries were very tasty as well. We were delighted to find this place!

Great specialty coffee shop, pretty well known but lives up to the hype. Sooin is a very knowledgeable barista, super kind and very passionate about coffee. If you are into specialty coffee I would highly recommend a visit. He also roasts his own coffee!

A delightfully quaint and quirky cafe serving a good selection of warm drinks and sweet treats. I highly recommend the hojicha latte and black sesame banana bread. The coffee was more sour and fruity than I usually like but I much prefer darker, French roasts. The decor is eclectic with various different seating options, but the restaurant was a little draughty and cold. Probably depends where you sit. Friendly service.

Update: after trying a few other sushi establishments during my past few business trips, upping one star for quality. Minato really stands out quality-wise. Looking forward to my next Minato experience to potentially give it 5 :) Old: I found Minato Sushi OK! Fish seemed fresh, but scallops were freezing cold. Variety was limited unfortunately, and prices were high for Nigiri à la carte for what it was and the underlying produce market price. Proportion of fish/rice was good. All in all OK but I think my expectations were a bit high. This is a medium end establishment that you're supposed to eat maki at and not expect extraordinary nigiri as in a truly Japanese run establishment. However - not bad!

They have a high quality fish and sushi that is apparently open on Sunday. My bf and I have a great time here. The service is amazing, also the sushi. We recommend their white fish and salmon grilled. I personally prefer without sprinkle salt but apparently it is their signature. But you can always asked not to put salt on the grilled sushi. But I love their dry lemon skin sprinkled on top of the sushi. I also recommend their mushroom sushi, they are very tasty, I enjoy the texture of it. We def will come back here again.

The Maki rolls are big and the salmon miso soup is good. Menus are in English/Finnish and card is an accepted form of payment.

Exceptionally crafted sushi with perfectly cooked rice and generous portions of fresh fish in the nigiri. The wasabi is well-balanced, instead of the usual green mustard, complementing the flavors beautifully.

Sushi in Helsinki seems to be on another level. So when I saw a place rated a 4.9 on Google, for sushi, no less, I knew I had to go. Cant believe I didn't post this the moment I finished, a year ago. But here I am, reminiscing about what an amazing dinner I had at Minato! The salmon with lime salt is something I could just order a bunch of, eat that only, and be the happiest guy on earth. But everything we had was just fantastic, including the reindeer sushi.

Very good sushi, fresh and authentic, I strongly recommend Kolari plate, especially the reindeer sushi surprised me. I am also happy with the service, thoughtful and pleasent. The restaurant is small, but really cosy and neat. I had great evening with my family, I would recommend it!

It’s one of my go-to lunch spots in Kallio. Just good vibes. And their food options are out of my comfort zone meaning it’s very Nordic cuisine. So I love it! After leaving this restaurant, I have extra confidence and happiness that I tried a new dish that I don’t normally go for. Thank you for your service and good food.

I highly respect this restaurant! They didn’t serve breakfast at my arrival time. They were kind enough to translate the lunch menu to English. My respect goes high for including free soup, bread, fresh brewed coffee, and water with any order! Additionally, I only saw 2 persons serving the entire place! The complimentary soup was really excellent! A creamy vegetables soup. The coffee was good. However, my crepes mini mushrooms inside filling were very good, while the whole wheat flour used for the crepe was a little sweet. Also, it was slightly overcooked, and little dry. The coleslaw side was good. Overall, with all of the above inclusions, I can say that they are fairly affordable. Recommended

The terrace is nice! Menu is also quite interesting and the croque monsieur was super tasty, really enjoyed it but do not recommend the pancakes, not much taste and very very small and flat. The coffee was okay, not great. Orange juice was nice.

I had the fish of the day. Not bad, just a bit bland. Felt healthy, I suppose. The vibes were adequate and the service was as well. Not bad, not amazing either.

We were staying in Kallio for 24hrs and looking for breakfast/lunch, Gastro cafe looked so popular and cosy we wandered in and were so impressed with the food, the value and the chill cosy atmosphere. Couldn't have asked for a better lunch 😋

Very positiv surprise. The place looks pretty simple, but had a delicious menu, a very patient and friendly service who in detail described the options and made perfect recommendations, including the drinks.

Excellent naepolitan pizza. Tomato sauce was fresh, bright, a bit cherry-tomato alike and very-very tasty! Salami was just right, thin and crispy at the edges. Mozzarella supported the flavours and dough was about perfect. Ps. Best tomato-sauce on pizza I have had ever - exactly right 💪

Rorza truly impressed from start to finish. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food? Absolutely amazing. The pizza, baked to perfection in a traditional Neapolitan oven, was rich in flavor and had the perfect texture. The beef cappainco was tender and delicious, and the tiramisu was just outstanding. Every dish was crafted with care and quality. Top-notch all around. Can’t wait to come back!

For our 13th wedding anniversary, I chose Forza Pizzeria as the venue. My hubby was shocked at my unorthodox, almost frivolous choice. I reassured him, however, that I had thought it through carefully: a) it’s been ranked the 22nd best pizza restaurant in Europe, b) pizza is his absolute favorite food, and c) we could easily book a table for two at the last minute. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the waitress. I had requested a window seat when making the booking, and my wish was granted. As usual, we ordered a pizza similar to the Diavola called “Stay Hot” (I think; €19). The prosecco was icy cold and bubbly—just the way I like it (10,20€). At the end of the meal, the waitress surprised us with an on-the-house tiramisu that tasted exquisite. I would definitely recommend this

Terrible service. The waiter made us feel uncomfortable since the beginning. Also, for a table of six, the pizzas came out three at a time at a distance of 15 minutes or so. The pizza is good, but not exceptional. We tried four different pizzas and too many toppings made the bottom a little uncooked while parts of the crust were just burnt.

These are the kind of places to write home about. I ate the best pizza in Finland so far here. The place has a fantastic reputation so I had high expectations but they were met at the very least. We took Stay hot and Parmigiana, both were fantastic but I would definitely recommend Stay hot with burrata on top. Very warm and considerate staff.

The pizza was amazing and each pizza had a wine pairing which was great. Service was fantastic, the waiter knew what he was doing and was very attentive. Make sure you book in advance as it’s a very popular destination, for good reason!

Le Ankke in Helsinki serves amazing food that mixes French and Finnish flavors perfectly. Every dish on the menu was really tasty, and the wine pairings matched well in most cases. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The only downsides were the restaurant being too warm and a few flies flying around. But overall, it's a great spot for a unique dining experience in Helsinki!

Famous artist Stenwall made the centerpiece of this fine establishment, and it is indeed a duck with colors and vibe matching the restaurant. Menu is really good, where there are some options which are amazing each on their own. Great service with good selection of wines and other liquors. Take your date here, it’s an intimate and cozy setting, but down to earth - eavesdropping or making new friends definitely an option😊 5/5!

Really delightful experience in nice atmosphere. Creative menu and dishes were nicely prepared, showcasing different styles and flavors. Intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Freshly made bread was nice touch. Friendly staff kept the evening moving along smoothly.. Allergies and gluten free options were accommodated.

We enjoyed the food with my wife, duck would have benefited from having a bit more acidity on the side (the beetroot and mustard seeds didn’t quite make it) because of the duck being so fatty. Mushroom risotto was the queen of the show, it was excellent and the fish soup and wagyu beef were tasty too. Desserts complimented the menu well. The place is nice though small, it was a bit too tight for our preference but still manageable. Jackets were just stuffed on one wall, perhaps a bit more space would help but this didn’t bother us more than one star’s worth. Keep up the good work guys! :)

An absolute gem has opened up in Helsinki. Super fine dining and great wine pairings, with relaxed service. By far the best restaurant experience this year. Bonus points for Lake Saimaa being the inspiration! French onion soup a superior dish! Best of 2023! Also bonus points for vintage Arabia tableware!

My wife and I experienced Le Ankka for St Valentine’s (not on the day, but still) and it was exquisite! From the very personal service, to the small attentive team, the cosy restaurant itself and the delicious, meticulous food, all was perfect! We went for the 4-course menu and it kept on delivering dish after dish. I highly recommend the place for a couple who wants a caring, tasty moment.

THE discovery in Helsinki for really good food in a nice surrounding: Le Ankka. If there were 6 stars ⭐️, I would give them all to this cozy restaurant. Fine French style menues with local ingredients from nearby, fish from Saimaa lake and apples from the chef‘s garden. Don’t miss out the monastry wines 🍷 from Valamo and the Puruvesi 🐠 vendace, a fish with protected geographic indication (PGI).

An intimate and atmospheric place in a beautiful building in a great location. I had an excellent pressed lamb with seasonal vegetables. A very balanced dish. In my companion's dish, the pike perch had been replaced by whitefish, but it was a fantastic dish. The fish, braised in browned butter, was heavenly. The wine recommendation was also spot on. The dessert of creme brule with strawberry-black pepper sorbet was also a positive surprise. The fresh sorbet made the portion well balanced.

We truly enjoyed our visit! Selected appetizers, main courses and desserts from the list to taste different kinds. Would recommend choosing similar amount as in the 5 course menu. Fantastic service, cozy atmosphere and great wine suggestions. Would visit again!

Absolutely delicious salmon tartar and regular tartar. Their fries were perfection, my favorite fries I’ve had in ages in Helsinki. Their wine selection was really good and tip: ask the waiter if they have any good/interesting wine bottle open that is not on the menu. You might very well be lucky! Overall love this place: food is amazing, service is outstanding and nothing beats sitting outside on Bulevardi on a summer evening.

The food and wine pairing were well prepared, but the overall atmosphere felt noisy and casual rather than fine dining. I had left a note in my reservation about tartar, but it was not addressed and the first course was tartar without any check from the staff. This left me with the feeling that attention to detail in service could be improved. Compared to other Michelin-mentioned restaurants in Helsinki, the experience felt less polished, especially in terms of atmosphere and service. Overall, good food but feels more like a casual restaurant than fine dining.

We have never experienced such poor service compared to similar restaurants in Helsinki. Here’s a summary of our experience: (1) We ordered the 5-course menu, but only received four courses when it came time for dessert, the waitress validated with the kitchen and informed us, “I have no idea why we didn’t serve you the starter.” (2) The wine was poured while I was in the restroom, with no opportunity to taste or see the bottle. I had to specifically ask about which wine was served. (3) Since we only received four out of five courses, the restaurant offered a 20% discount. However, I had also opted out of the cheese plate, meaning I effectively only received a 3-course meal. Despite this, the discount was applied to the full 5-course menu price. (4) My friend and I paid separately, but despite ordering different wines and courses (he had four courses while I had three), the waitress simply split the bill evenly between us. This was not only inaccurate but also frustrating. While the food was refined, the service was neither attentive nor respectful.

Very big disappointment. Have never seen this level place with THIS horrible service. Makes me feel that you could just buy a place in Michelin guide. The menus were never explained, not a word about the courses. We ordered olives, that were not brought. When we ask the waiter (makes me think it was a shift manager or such, as other waitresses were asking him for advice, a tall guy with glasses) about our olives his reaction was -A!! No apologies or anything. (Later on, they did not include the olives in the check, let’s say it was a sign of apology…….) I had white fish crudo for the starter, which had lots of sauce and a spoon was supposed to be brought with it. (The other waitress brought the same dish for the other table with the spoon at the very beginning and the guests did not have to ask for it separately). When my wife finished her starter and I was still eating, the same guy just took away her plate without asking e.g. if she enjoyed the food or anything. That was just gross violation of service rules . Makes me feel the guy never worked in a restaurant before and does not even know the basics. As to the food, it was ok, nothing special. Presentation was average, as well as the taste. Though, I was amazed with the wines- there were brilliant. Overall, it is not worth it. I’m so shocked how place with this kind of service could be in Michelin guide Would not recommend.

Best burger I tasted in Helsinki. The smash burger was tasty, and the chicken burger was juicy and full of taste. The cheese fries was perfect, really crispy and cheesy. The place was a little too chilling, so had to eat with a jacket, and it took some time to get to order, since the employee was in the back most of the time

Cali smash was great. The fries was even better! Crispy on the outside, and still crispy even after leaving it out for some time. Burgers were juicy and had this crispy bits at the side. Well deserved 5 stars

The Burgers and Fries were excellent. I tried the Double Cheeseburger and the Asian BBQ Burger, also the fries. The fries are crispy and very tasty. Definitely recommend them. They also offer various sauces. The double cheeseburger is really cheesy. Do not expect a strong sauce, rather a strong and tasty, almost creamy cheese taste. The asian bbq burger was very good. The chicken was crunchy, juicy and tender. The sauce is very sweet and a bit spicy. The service was awesome and extremely customer friendly. Rarely had such a courteous service. Thank you. No reservation needed. Take away also possible!

Delicious juicy burgers. It completely satisfied my burger craving. I ordered a Cali Smash burger with extra bacon and my partner ordered a Double cheese bacon burger. Both are absolutely are so delicious and juicy! The fries were crispy which is always great to have. The staff was kind helpful, and hardly working. The only reason I’m putting a four stars was because I was concerned seeing the two amazing staff were working overtime to provide food to everyone on a Saturday evening. The restaurant and kitchen were clearly understaffed. The sweet lady taking the orders was running between cooking in the kitchen and making sure she’s also at the cashier. This is in NO WAY me complaining about the two staff, they did a wonderful job. I just truly hope this was an exceptional situation and not usually understaffed like that.

Fries were well seasoned and crispy. The hamburger bun was perhaps the best hamburger bun ever. Anyway, the flavors were on point. The cleanliness level of the restaurant was a bit bad.

The burger was a flavor explosion – juicy, perfectly cooked, with fresh toppings and a soft bun. The chicken wings? Crispy, well-seasoned, and just the right amount of spice. Seriously, everything was spot on. Can't recommend it enough!

Cons - Below average pizza. Limited flavour selection (6 only). We tried 4 flavours, except for the mushroom one, all were so so. The toppings are almost non-existent. We decided not to order more 😭 Pros - Service is fast, ambiance is warm with good customer service and almost full house.

Delicious pizza with a cool NYC concept where you can order by slices, and each slice is huge! I often only need two slices, which makes it an affordable meal of only 10-12€. I can definitely recommend their Blondie which is a basic cheese with chilly and garlic pizza, their Pepperonis with hot honey is simply heaven, and the Special which changes every week or so.

Tasty pizza at a fair price. While it may not be the best I’ve ever had, it definitely hits the spot—especially considering the value. The place is quite small, and when we arrived in the mid-afternoon, it was already packed, which speaks volumes about its popularity with the locals. They serve pizza by the slice, each one generously sized and priced around 5€–6€ depending on the type you order. Some varieties cost a bit more, but overall, I’d say it’s worth the money. There’s also some outdoor seating available.

It gets easily a little crowded, but avoid the rush hours with a little planning, and you'll be very well rewarded with what is easily one of the best pizzas in Finland. Don't forget to try the stracciatella cheese on top!

probably the best pizza in helsinki. we got blondie and pepporini and both of them was very good. The slices are really big so it is alright for their price. One slice was 5.5€. However the drinks and the wines are overexpensive I would say. Regardless a really nice place to eat in Kallio.

Amazing new york style pizza, very cozy place, friendly staff. We have tried the pepperoni, mushroom, blondie, the special and rossa, all amazing! although the prices have incresead around 0.5-1 euro per slice since the last menu upload online ( 6 months ago ). They don t accept reservation, so be ready to wait for some time as the place is almost full every hour they are open, but 100% worth the wait. !Keep in mind the place only accepts card only payment!

Cozy restaurant at the heart of Helsinki. The menu was compact and contained a lot of dishes with seafood. We chose the menu, which gave us the option to choose 4 dishes. The dishes were nice. My favourite was veal-mushroom soup and the ice-cream. The service was good, fast and friendly.

We reserved a table for birthday celebration several months in advance and came with high expectation, as Teller was ranked fourth in 2025 top 50 restaurants in Finland. The small bugs were quite annoying, as they were around all the time. The restuarant was quite busy but not fully booked. Tables are quite close to each other. We took the Teller menu, one with fish and one with steak. The waiter did not ask how we would like our steak to be, and we reminded him. We started with the champagne, not recommended. The starter was interesting, but the risotto was quite heavy and salty. The fish was well fried but the sauce was quite boring. In general I would say that it was average. We ordered THE BREAD, well, the pay did not bring anything outstanding. Well, still gave four stars to support local business.

The endive starter with roasted hazelnuts was a knockout: simple, but thoughtfully composed and bursting with flavor. The perch was cooked to perfection – delicate, flavorful, and memorable. Every dish reflects a respect for ingredients and a genuine passion for cooking. Teller isn’t just a restaurant – it’s a place you’ll want to return to, again and again. And I certainly will. Easily one of the top dining spots in Helsinki.

After first time visiting, Teller became one of my top restaurants in Helsinki. The food was simply delicious, everything from appetizers to main courses was just top notch. I especially enjoyed the brioche bread and the mushroom risotto. Also, the staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the whole evening. We got our meals quite fast even though the restaurant was starting to get packed for Friday night. Make a reservation to secure your table! As an additional plus they have a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks (mocktails, craft sodas etc.) to order with your food.

The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was spot on, and the whole menu felt really well thought out and balanced. We didn’t go for the full wine pairing, but the wines our server brought us were excellent. One thing that really stood out was Teller’s classic brioche – it was honestly heavenly. Definitely a must-try. The service was also fantastic – probably some of the best we’ve had in a restaurant. Our server was super friendly, knew their stuff, and made us feel really well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend this place! :)

Divine food in the center of Helsinki! Playful choices of flavors in food, served aestethically. The staff was friendly, welcoming and even in a hurry, didnt emit a feeling of rush. The location is great and interior is nice and decent, however still a bit torn between whether this is a fine dining or just a generally hip place. No white tablecloths, but food served belongs in a high end restaurant. Definitely suggest trying it out. Remember to book your table, this place is packed!

There were quite a few flies in the restaurant, which made me feel uncomfortable. The appetizers were delicious, and the entrée was slightly salty. However, we had to wait over an hour for the main steak, and unfortunately, it was really chewy. 😞 I’m really disappointed.

They squeezed us in even though we did not have a reservation and our outfit were shabby as we were just caught by severe rain beforehand on our bicycle ride.

Exceptional food. The menu of the day with limited choices but exceptionally well delivered!!! Excellent wine selection. Relaxed but impeccable service. While we took only 2 courses, I would highly recommend the full menu which is well prices and the portions well sized. The venue is a bit dark and cramped ... the fantastic trio should look for another location that will fit their great cuisine better. I will certainly return. Highly recommended.

I do not want to write this review because i do not want too many people to know about this place. It is that good. One of the best highlights of my visit to Helsinki. It is as if they know how to dissect every single flavour and play with all of them for greater creativity. Make a reservation in advance!

Overall, my experience was enjoyable. The service was friendly, though the organization could use some improvement, especially with the somewhat confusing wine list. The initial courses were underwhelming, with overly salty flavors that detracted from the taste. The deer sandwich was decent, albeit a bit heavy. However, the main course, featuring Herring, was outstanding—beautifully balanced and thoughtfully composed. The pancakes were a delightful finish to the meal. Overall, a pretty good experience.

I don’t think anyone expects to sit for 3 hours just to eat a 4-course menu. The kitchen is clearly having problems managing their time, and you could feel a certain restlessness in the dining room as nobody had anything to eat for long periods. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. It was quite weird to have the main dish served in a dessert plate with a very small fork, but I suppose that’s part of their “carefree” approach.

Incredible new restaurant. Really good value for money. Every dish was bursting with flavor and had something interesting happening. Dishes used limited number of ingredients but everything on the plate was carefully planned and tasted excellent. I really hope people will find this restaurant because it deserves to be a new star in Helsinki!

I have appreciated the warm welcoming and the location, BUT negative points I have found to be: 1.the place is way too tight (I was basically glued to the fridge and to other people) 2.the entrance door stayed opened all the time with people waiting to enter and it was very cold inside while eating 3.THE FOOD was nothing special in my opinion (see burnt cake and basic salad with potatoes) 4.why isn't implemented a way to book online your seat??? P.s: to answer to the owner's reply which I have appreciated, the food costs 23€/person in your "canteen" not 15€ btw😊have a great Easter too

A tiny gem restaurant with sophisticated, carefully prepared lunches. I have had lunch here at least 10 times. It has a daily changing menu with ingredients that are always fresh, and flavorsome, delightful dishes that have a touch of gourmet. Dont skip dessert. Follow their instagram to see what’s on the menu for the day. Beware that they take no reservations for lunch and no cash. The staff is friendly and prompt, a couple that is doing their own thing in the Finnish restaurant scene.

Food was okey and the bread amazing but the service so incredible poor that I don’t feel like going back. A simple hello at the door takes you so far but even that was missing. Also I’m not the only one who has had the same experience.
