Beautiful store but subpar shopping experience. I went in with the intention of purchasing several textile items and the Riihitie planters, and also to look at some pendant lights. Received zero service from the Asian sales assistant (I think she was the only one on the second floor at the time) who walked right past me to help a white Finnish couple who were browsing furniture.
I ended up not buying anything here and making my purchases at Vepsäläinen a few days after.
Design furnitures, carpets, fabrics, lights and other small decorative items from Finninsh and International designers. Large selection that changes periodically on display and many known international design items can ce ordered as well with the help of Artek. The store also has small exhibitions related to design troughout the year. There is also smaller store Artek 2nd Cycle nearby that focuses on recycled design furnitures from the past.

Great showroom and shop of Finnish furniture design. Most famous designer is Alvar Aalto who's desings are the highlight of Artek collection. The shop is in center of Helsinki on a building designed by Aalto. This is not a museum but a shop so you can pick things here If you like them. Also just browsing is OK.

I went there today at around 3:30 pm. Walked in the store, and a female staff member was standing at the till. She ignored me while she smiled and said hello to my Finnish husband only a few steps behind me.
I've lived in Europe as a Korean about 10 years, but this is one of the few occasions I've felt discriminated.
Household lovers will love this place. It's a must visit shop in Iso Omena. Beautiful ceramic products, bed linen etc, a good place to buy for gifts too. Cute Moomin cups, plates and bowls are also found here. Went on 28.12.2023, sale was on and many lovely items including Moomin's are worth buying 😍🤩 Friendly and helpful staff too 🥰

Nestled along the picturesque Esplanadi, this shop offers an extensive range of clothing, bags, textiles, and home goods adorned in Marimekko's signature bold patterns. It's a must-visit for anyone intrigued by unique fashion or seeking functional yet stylish items.
Rumour said if you cannot find what you want in one store, go to another. In my case, this is the first Marimekko store I went in the district, but I found all I want so I didn't have to go on to another. The staff was very helpful and had many recommendations, and didn't put me in haste while I was trying on whole lot of different items (clothes I mean). One of the best shopping experiences.

Beautiful products, excellent brand, fairly priced.
Happened to be there at the beginning of winter sale. This shop had the best, almost complete selection of sale items and well-stocked. Besides clothings, accessories and home decor, it also carried the Marimekko Kiosk series (not every branch had it). Very friendly and happy staff too. They all made sure to ask if you were a Marimekko member. Otherwise you could sign up as one and new member entitled to 10% off normal-priced goods.

Forum is a bustling shopping and leisure center that spans an entire city block in Helsinki. It houses a wide array of brand name stores, making it a shopper's paradise. Visitors can explore boutiques around Esplanad Park and the Design District, featuring renowned Finnish design names like Artek, Aarikka, Design Forum Finland, Littala, and Marimekko.
Another amazing indoor shopping mall filled with great label making clothes stores, boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes. All under one huge building in the center of the city, next to several transport lines and within walking distance of The Central Railway Station. Again, whenever in Helsinki a must for shopping if one has no idea of where things are at and where to go to find the best places for it. It is really outstanding on many levels, no doubt. As a New Yorker, there are so many luxury items, fashions, and accessories among many delightful products made in Finland and/or designed for the markets specifically here.
Especially outdoor gear and equipment et cetera. Like every country has its brand name lines, you will definitely love what is offered here too. Tremendous quality and value!

Forum Helsinki is a modern, centrally located shopping mall with a great mix of shops, cafes, and services. It's clean, well-organized, and easily accessible. Perfect for quick shopping or a relaxed day out. A solid choice for both locals and tourists.
This is a shopping centre that takes up much of a full block at Mannerheimintie and Simonkatu that opened in 1985. There are several floors of retail shops, coffee shops and restaurants. We had a good healthy lunch at Plants By Us when we visited recently. Makes for a good mall for local residents and potentially for tourists looking for things to do on bad weather days.
Great mall in Helsinki. It can be a bit confusing as there are many different entrances and many different ways to get there from Public transit. With the amount of escalators and levels it can be easy to get lost in. Plenty of stores and should be able to find anything you could need.

Convenient One-Stop Shopping in the Heart of Helsinki
Forum Shopping Center is perfectly located in the middle of Helsinki—just a few minutes’ walk from the main railway station. The mall is bright, well-organized, and easy to navigate. I liked the wide mix of stores, from well-known international brands to Finnish favorites like Marimekko and small local boutiques. The food court has plenty of choices, including vegetarian and quick-grab options, and the restrooms were spotless. There are elevators and clear signage, so it’s wheelchair and stroller friendly.
If you’re visiting Helsinki and need shopping, dining, or simply a warm place to stroll in winter, Forum is a great stop.

Maybe my favorite thrift shop I visited in Helsinki. All the UFF Vintage locations are great, but the selection at this one was huge and varied. The basement is packed with stuff, and it was really fun to look through. The only downside is there was a line for the fitting rooms (on a weekday afternoon). I didn’t find anything right for me on my visit but I will definitely go back and try my luck here again next time I’m in Helsinki.
Pricing for most items was around 9~25€ when I visited.

Cozy vibe, large collection of all kinds of clothes and a very high 'fashion-to-kitsch ratio'. I'm not an expert, but it was immediately clear that the standard is higher here than in most other 2nd-hand stores. Got a pristine-white coat that looks like it cost 150e for 14e; highly recommend.

Omg this place is amazing and saved me from canceling my snowshoeing trip in hossa national park. Finair lost all of my luggage. I literally had nothing went there and got a huge amount of sporting good and. Luggage and shirts and jeans and socks and head covers for 300 euros. The people were super helpful as I had like 20 min before I had to leave and pack and catch my next flight. And they are open on Sundays. They have a lot of amazing stuff. I highly recommend this place

There are dozens of small shops to explore one by one, each with its own charm. Absolutely recommended!!

Restored fish market (I am assuming) that now houses individual food stalls. We were there pretty early so it wasn't busy. There are free toilets in the back. We bought a delicious lingonberry mini pie. It's right on the water, near the ferry that takes you to Suomenlinna, a popular tourist destination. I imagine that the hall is jam packed during the day. There are hot prepared, packaged, and to go options available.

This hall was so cute! From cafes, quick bites, fresh meat, caviar, and bathrooms. What more could you ask for. We tried the popcorn coffee which was amazing and a stuffed baked potato. One of the highlight locations on our trip.
Must visit when in Helsinki! Definitely try the Eriksson fish stall for the best salmon and lobster soup and their amazing fish tapas. 🦞 Great souvenirs as well such a reindeer jerky, caviar and licorice. There are some good coffee spots too! ☕️

First, I indulged in a classic Finnish laskiaispulla—a soft, fluffy bun filled with whipped cream and almond paste, topped with a dusting of powdered sugar. Paired with a crispy and nutty pistachio baklava, it was a match made in heaven! To wash it down, I grabbed a bottle of Laitilan O.Pom, a refreshing and slightly tangy fruit soda that perfectly complemented my sweet treats.
The fresh produce section was equally impressive! I picked up some organic vegetables in a charming eco-friendly bag, a testament to Hakaniemi Halli’s commitment to quality and sustainability. The selection was fantastic, with colorful, fresh greens and locally sourced goods.

It is a good Market Place. When we visited, it was super crowded. do not know it is everyday situation or only on weekends. Very Lively. You can buy all the variety of meats and fish available. All were looking fresh and. But this is 100% not a touristy place. so tourist please avoid as there is literally nothing you can see something special or enjoy.

Beautiful market hall that sells products ranging from fresh fruit and canned goods to handmade bags and leather products. It's conveniently split between two entire floors of a large building. There's also a small flower shop offering a great variety of plants and flowers.
The first floor also has a cafe and several shops that sell freshly-made food. There's plenty of variety making it a good choice for people who are undecided.
The top floor has various shops that sell handmade items, including soap bars, bags, and souvenirs.
If you wanna feel something about the traditional market hall atmosphere in Helsinki, you have to go to Hakaniemi. Compared to Old Market Hall close to Market Square, Market Hall in Hakaniemi has kept at least something of the old market hall culture. There are store which sell fresh vegetables, fish, meat... and handicrafts, souveniers etc.; and there are some small restaurants to eat and coffee shops to enjoy. Nice place to visit.

I visited this place on September 27, 2025. It's a really lovely open-air market, but I had a bad experience with this "TRADITIONAL ORIENTAL PASTRIES" shop. The man in the photo charged me €23.92 for just two pieces of baklava.
Unfortunately, I was ripped off on my first day in Helsinki.

The building is clean and very pretty.
Unless you are buying ingredients to cook not sure it's really worth the effort to go to this as it is very small and you will finish it in less then 30 minutes.

It's nice but really not worth detouring for this.

As a child I used to visit Stockmann with my friends. Especially the toy department was a tempting place to spend time and to wonder and test the newest toys. Some years later the music department and the neighbour house's book store were important places to do findings, and finally Stockmann's delicacy (food) department was the best place to buy the most delicious cheeses.
Thus, Stockmann with its Academic Bookstore has had its place in my life, and it was somehow exciting to visit there after many years. And after yesterday's Mall of Tripla mess, Stockmann as a traditional department store feels so clear and easy. Almost 100 years old Stockmann is an interesting trip to more traditional shopping centre culture.
Nice for anyone looking for a bit more expensive souvenirs or just wants to shop a bit more high end. Toilets are free and clean. However it gets very full on the weekends, which means you will have to wait ages for the elevator.
This is the iconic Stockmann Department Store in Helsinki. Founded in 1862 and located in the historic Argos house with the lovely Renaissance Revival facade, this if the Stockmann flagship store and the largest in the Nordic countries with over 10 floors and 50,000 sq mts of shopping space. You'll find a who's who of retail branch names along with good eateries, coffee shops and a great supermarket. Stockmann is a great shopping destination for locals and a place well worth a visiting for tourists to Helsinki.

Amazing store. It's way too big to do in its entirety, so unless you want to spend all day in there, it's impossible to see and do everything that's in there. My wife enjoyed the "Relove" store, off the ladies' apparel department, where they had used clothing. The store is in the middle of the city so it's very convenient.

Looking for the next refreshment stop, I went to Hietalahti Market which is a bustling culinary hub offering a unique shopping experiencing with local produce and Finnish delicacies, artisan crafts and gourmet foods. While I was there I stopped for a coffee.
Had a bit of everything. Clothing, glass wear, old silverware, jewelry, sunglasses, antiques. It was fun to shop here. Not as big as i expected and it's cash only.

Amazing department store that carries a tremendously high selection of beauty care products made in Finland and across Scandinavia and other European countries too. One of several places in Helsinki to visit and shop on several floors of luxury goods, clothing, household items, and more. Located conveniently next to several tram lines in city center across from Helsingen Päärautatieasema (Central Station), it’s easily accessible and conveniently connected by a subway metro station within the same building. One of the great lest attractions within its city center and of all its places in-between them too.
It is a bit troublesome for tourists to get a tax refund. After checking out, you have to go to the third floor to get a stamp. There is no obvious sign where the stamp is, and I searched for a long time.
At Helsinki airport my luggage didn’t arrive with my international connecting flight !! When I arrived in city center main railway station I had to shop for emergency clothes and supplies as I didn’t know when my luggage would arrive. Someone outside the train station pointed me to this department store. On the first floor I asked an employee where I can find men’s clothing and she directed me to upper floor.
Give that this is Helsinki, I was somewhat prepared for sticker shock ! Let’s just say that compared to US, be prepared to pay 2 or 3x even for simple stuff which I needed for emergency- couple of T shirts, underwear, socks and a sweater. I was able to find everything but it set me back €80 !!

Bus terminal is on the lower level and there is a direct access to the metro system as well. If you come to Helsinki on public transportation this is a likely place where you come, apart from the train station which is also very close. One stop on the metro or a short walk.

The shopping experience was enjoyable, albeit somewhat expensive.
Food really nice but service not so much. We felt really rushed to order first of all even though it wasn't even near the closing time. They don't also have any normal quality coffee, they said they have only filter coffee and when we said that we'll have that then the waitress looked at the coffee pot which was empty and said that it's also not available? She could've made more of some filter coffee for us at least with the dessert, considering we paid quite a lot in here also.
Do not eat the seafood platter there are only 2 to 3 “prawns” and they are not king prawns the are small, the oysters 🦪 are ok…but bad dish.

I’m honestly shocked by the poor level of service this store offers. It’s almost impressive how unbothered the staff can be , more focused on sharing their weekend plans with each other than acknowledging a customer standing right in front of them.
There’s absolutely no sense of welcome. In fact, people walk in and out in seconds, and it’s easy to see why the whole point of going to a store like this is the experience, but here that’s completely missing. You might as well be shopping in a warehouse.
At this rate, buying Iittala and Arabia products at Tokmanni doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. Same level of service , that is, none but at least you pay less for it.
A very clean store with a huge variety of items! You can find lots of Moomin merchandise here, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Keep an eye out for the sales they often have — you might find some great deals!
I stopped in to this shop to order littala porcelain to ship home to myself in California. I went early and the shop staff person who helped me was exceptional. It took time to input my selections into their system and she offered me tea or coffee while I waited. I'd like to say a special thank you to the woman who helped me because the set I was buying was due to go on sale the next day and she volunteered to honor that upcoming sale price. Without any explanation, more than half of my clothes weren’t put up for sale, and no one contacted me about it - no message, nothing. They also put up one of the bags for sale that I brought the clothes in, even though I instructed them not to. They weren’t able to explain why half of my clothes weren’t put up for sale in any meaningful way, but they promised to look into it. Hopefully, they will provide me with some sort of acceptable answer before my (expensive) sales week is over.
If this is how it is to sell at Relove, this was my first and last time.
I love going to brunch spots when I visit a new city and that’s how I found here when I visit Helsinki. And I have to say I am impressed with the quality. 10/10. After you get one of the selections from the brunch menu, you get unlimited free filter coffee, which is a nice gesture. Friendly stuff too. Highly recommend!

I bought a selling spot: Do it myself. Why I always have to try to do all by myself? Even though I did it myself, I got help as I needed it and little more: They gave me vaporizer to get wrinkles off from the clothes, served a cup of warm coffee and made it easy to start selling my almost new clothes. Sold first shirt after 30 seconds. Boss.

Frida Marina is a vintage clothing store located in the Kallio district of Helsinki. It is a self-service flea market, vintage shop and cafe all under one roof. This store has a wide variety of items to choose from, including ethically sourced secondhand clothing and homewares from around the world.
I loved coming here. I was looking for some souvenirs to bring back to Montreal that a few female associates would enjoy, and seeing as I'm a guy I find it hard to choose things for women.
The owner was more than helpful at finding good accessories, bags and broaches that would make good souvenirs / gifts. She knew her wares 100%, all the truly Finnish items and their respective ages. One thing I reallt enjoyed besides the owner's expert knowledge on her wares was the fact that everything in thebplace was neatly organized.
I was very pleased with the service offered as well as the prices for the vintage items, even though I paid roughly 1.5x the price on account of the EURO-CAD exchange, I still found the prices to be excellent. So far everyone who's received one of the gifts she helped me choose has thoroughly appreciated it.

Great selected vintage pieces, prices vary greatly with one side of the store providing mostly older (40-70s era pieces) and the other half with 70-90’s era pieces for a lower price. The normal prices, especially on the right side of the shop are on the higher end of vintage but it’s a nice contrast to other kilo style charity shops. The sale was decent. Anyways their selection was beautiful with some interesting Finnish design pieces Included of course.
This is one of the best second hand/vintage store I've been to in Helsinki. You will find very fine vintage clothings here. If they were in my size, I would have bought several pieces. The owner(?) is very kind and friendly, too.

Atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Service was grand so nothing to complain here really. Sometimes it's a bit crowded here so it's getting a bit hard to move here but most of the times it's really enjoyable to wander around this establishment and impulse buy things you most likely don't need or even have space for. That's the idea of this place - and my wallet is crying.
So overall I strongly recommend to visit here. There's way too much super good looking things to buy and I had no money to spend which caused mental instability and sad face. So be warned if you visit here. This is just too good place for loosing money.

The outdoor stall vendors selling variety of souvenir items, reindeer fur, handicrafts , traditional food, fresh fruits & vegetables, coffee and snacks stalls and lots more to see and buy. There's a ferry connection to Suomenlinna Fortress island and zoo from the Market Square.
Not the most special square in town. What makes it cute, and unique to others, is the little wine bar in the shades, and the ”Kahvi Siskot” big tent who organizes different kinds of live programs on weekends around the year.
Amazing place with lots of variety in food, vegetables, meats and other kind of things. Everything is very expensive. You can buy these things at half rate at supermarket but I do understand that the quality is definitely high end, fresh produce. I bought backlava which was £2 a piece and cookies were for £2.50 per piece. 🙈
Says here it's closed on Sundays, but was there last Sunday and there were lots of stalls, mainly clothes and winter decorations, but also some food stalls. Conversely, there were only about 5 or 6 stalls out on the Saturday. I guess it may change with the seasons!
