Scandinavian restaurant
Danish restaurant
European restaurant
Noma, located in Copenhagen, is a renowned gastronomic destination led by Chef Rene Redzepi. The restaurant gained global recognition when it was named the world's best in 2010, marking a shift in the city's dining scene. While traditional Danish dishes like meatballs and smorrebrod remain available, Noma symbolizes the transformation of Nordic cuisine with its emphasis on organic, locally-sourced ingredients without compromising quality.
Totally lived up to the hype. We went in skeptical and were immediately impressed. Easily top 5 for me after many many 3* restaurants. The food was fantastic but what really made noma incredible was the service and atmosphere. Everything felt like clockwork but also genuine and warm at the same time.
Alex S — Google review
Ever since I could afford to travel and try the best food in the world, Noma has been at the top of the list. For over half a decade, I have been trying to get a booking, no matter what season, and I’ve been panicked since I heard the rumours of their imminent closure. Despite all that, after years of trying, a booking for Noma 2.0’s Summer Season finally was in the cards. I was a bit skeptical going into this, with the expectation of it being the “best meal of my life” so far. I love meat, so I was a bit worried with the vegetable focused menu. Boy, was I completely caught with my pants down. Long story short, Noma does live up to its reputation and has claimed its title, in my books, as the best meal of my life so far. I think the careful consideration of the produce, the specialization of Noma’s fermentation techniques, as well as the attention to detail by the staff, truly showcases why Noma deserves the flowers it’s been getting for the better part of two decades. If we’re being nitpicky, the dessert courses were a bit lacking, with the second nut ice cream dessert doing the heavy lifting (absolutely a favourite dessert from recent memory). Speaking on the savoury courses, I’ve typically come to notice a pattern with Michelin/fine dining. There will be a handful of dishes that are pretty “meh”, a good chunk of “wow that’s good”, and maybe, just maybe one or two “holy that’s amazing”. Noma’s savoury dishes had a “holy that’s amazing” almost entirely across the board. I can maybe think of 1 or 2 that were “wow that’s good” and no “meh” dishes. To highlight my absolute favourites: the wasabi leaf bouquet, the rose octopus with peaso sauce, and my absolute favourite dish, the flower salad with caramelized barley koji. To further add to that, the service provided by the staff is bar none, the best we’ve received. From warm welcomes, enthusiastic explanations, and even making note of our pace and matching it accordingly, their attention to detail truly is one-of-a-kind I’m truly grateful to have dined at Noma and really understood how they’ve come to impact the food scene globally. I highly recommend making the journey here, I know that if I’m lucky to get a reservation for Game & Forest Season, I’ll drop everything to make it!
Edwin A — Google review
I have mixed feelings about my Noma experience. I have been following the restaurant and Rene Redzepi for some years now and dining at Noma was very high on my bucket list. After being on the waiting list for a while, we finally got a reservation which coincidentally landed at my birthday. My wife and I made a 2,000km (round) trip just for this dinner. The expectations therefore were high and excitement to the max. The location of the restaurant is exceptional, to see how a restaurant with this pedigree operates was an unforgettable experience, I was star struck by seeing Chef Redzepi in person. The staff take care of you from the very beginning until the end. The kitchen is an impressive machinery of people. The restaurant itself is beautiful, cozy and welcoming. The whole setting is nothing short of perfect. Now the food, our experience included 16 courses and wine pairing, I can recognize all the research, technique and passion put into every dish, the presentation, textures and flavors you encounter are special and unexpected. There is a big but though, for me food is a big passion and what defines the dishes I remember is ultimately the pleasure that they generate when I put them in my mouth and I have to painfully say, there was maybe one of the 16 courses that came close to that but not close enough. In summary, the box is ticked but the excitement and all the expectation was clouded by the failure to bring joy to my mouth.

A truly remarkable restaurant, which I cannot recommend enough. We were there for ocean season and as expected every dish was unexpected and remarkable. It was a very well balanced menu, with more experimental dishes balanced by more traditional dishes. We felt very at ease at the friendly and more casual atmosphere and we were truly impressed by the thoughtfulness, quality, fun, thoughtfulness, novelty and balance in the entire menu. The pairing was excellent as well. I cannot wait to see what happens next at Noma. Thanks!
Vincent M — Google review
Best restaurant I have ever been to. From the beginning you feel like a good friend of the restaurant - everyone is so nice and friendly in a very casual way. The food is something special and unique in a way which only Noma is making it. If you ever have the chance - grab it!
Jens H — Google review
We were here for a pop-up event with ice cream and coffee as well as tasting of Noma's amazing creations. Following up on the pop up, we have now dined at Noma. We got the summer menu sitting at the shared table including 10 couples. This was a great experience, meeting different people from all over the world here for Noma! The settings are amazing! What a vibe! The team is the highlight! 60 employees working in sync, and in the center of the restaurant to serve 60 diners. The food was creative and attractive as well as tasty. But... If you are looking for flavors that wow you, I did not get that. It was more of a total experience and the story behind the food. Also, while the wine pairing was very good, the juice pairing was less so, with all but two of the juices tasting like watered down versions saving calories. At the end of the evening, drink still in hand we were taken on a tour of the restaurant. The tour ended at a door where we were shown out - we'll have to see if we can get a drink in the lounge another time. I want to thank the amazing team for being how they are! So many smiles, welcoming us and genuinely being there for the diners!
Benjamin L — Google review
A once in a lifetime experience. We were there for the first night of the summer menu and loved it. We sat at the shared dining table and it exceeded our expectations. It was lovely meeting people from around the world and experiencing the meal together. The food is creative, inspiring, and inventive. The wine pairing was fantastic and featured many unique bottles and winemakers. They also infused inspiration from their time in Japan throughout the meal and paired some dishes with sake. The staff went above and beyond during the entire meal. They also gave us a tour of the restaurant and Noma Projects after dinner. So grateful to have experienced Noma and meet all the staff that make the magic happen!

Fortunate to have scored a table at this famed institution for the summer 2025 menu. Warm welcome by the team and beautiful and comfortable interior. Menu had a lot of greens prepared in a variety of ways 🤯

Kadeau is a renowned New Nordic restaurant with two locations, one in the tiny fishing island of Bornholm and another in Copenhagen. The restaurant offers a creative 16- to 18-course tasting menu paired with wine, showcasing the charm, simplicity, smells, and fresh quality of the island's culinary delights.
We had an amazing 15 course tasting menu experience at Kadeau. From the beginning until the end the experience was unique! The ambiance, the people, the food with the wine pairing, the light, the decoration. Every single detail was thoroughly crafted resulting in a beautiful fine dining. Highly recommend it!

This place should have 3 Michelin Stars. The experience was outstanding. Phenomenal staff. Incredible food. Exceptional story telling through each course and wine pairing. A very beautiful space with art and decor curated for the season. Would absolutely return.
Niall K — Google review
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. The whole evening was a sensory experience on a whole other level. Great stories around the ingredients, well presented, amazing flavours. For two people I recommend doing both wine pairings to get an even more diverse pallet of flavours.
Johannes S — Google review
The dishes were unique and inventive, featuring some ingredients we had never tried before. Not every dish was a standout, but they were all of a high standard. I appreciated how they prepared razor clams in different ways. I also liked the presentation of the salmon, and how they made snap peas the star of a dish. However, the non-alcoholic pairing was a bit pricey. The staff were charming. Recommend to have a table along the edge as the place can get quite noisy, it was hard to hear the staff's explanations if your table is in the center, surrounded by the chatter and laughter of other guests. This may not be a top-tier restaurant in terms of flavor, but if you're looking for something bold, this is the right place.
E M — Google review
This place was mediocre at best and that's not even considering the price. Service got worse as the night went on. They came on strong but it seemed that the staff cared less after the first 2 hours. For some reason our meal took 4 hours. We were waiting for long periods of time between plates during the second half of the meal. There are so many better restaurants in Copenhagen, don't waste your time here. Also almost every dish was seafood.
Michael S — Google review
Superb experience — the food and wine pairing is unparalleled — coupled with such a wonderful staff from the chefs to the assistants waiting on you at the table. Just watch out for the Galician who has a crazy but wonderful sense of humor. Loved chatting up the Italians who were both engaging and very talented.
Janine C — Google review
Very solid meal but 2x what it should have cost. We went to Noir two nights before in Stockholm (1 Star) and it was equally as good at less than half the price. Kadeau is a 5 star worthy place but at $1k/person, it was the most expensive meal we've ever had so it just pisses me off. I would say this meal was in the Top 25 of my worldwide experiences but definitely not in the Top 10 and all of those meals were much less expensive. Pic: The ant was intentional and interesting.
K. B — Google review
One of the greatest dining experiences I’ve had. This place truly has it all—exceptional food, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, and I genuinely loved every moment here. Highly recommended!

Geranium is a renowned Nordic terroir restaurant located on the 8th floor in Faelledparken, Copenhagen. The restaurant offers panoramic views of the park and the city skyline. Led by award-winning chef Rasmus Koefed, Geranium provides a unique dining experience with its high-concept cooking and multiple-course tasting menus. The elegant design and spacious tables complement the exquisite dishes that challenge diners' senses.
The food here is absolutely delicious. It’s a 3-Michelin-star restaurant located inside a stadium. The atmosphere is open and airy, creating a relaxed and pleasant vibe. The staff are very polite and friendly from the moment you arrive. The dishes mainly feature plant-based ingredients, vegetables, fruits, and fish. Each course is creatively composed, full of surprises in both presentation and flavor. The taste? Undeniably outstanding. While dining, you can watch the chefs in an open kitchen carefully plating each dish, a performance in itself. The full experience lasts a little over three hours. After the savory courses, the staff will take you on a short tour including exclusive areas such as the private rooms, wine cellar, and kitchen. The meal concludes with a dessert course and a lovely gift bag to take home.
Tarin K — Google review
Simply incredible. It’s clear why Geranium won the #1 best restaurant in the world a couple of years ago. Please do yourself a BIG favor and get the juice pairing. It was the best pairing I’ve ever done (and I’m including done dozens of wine and NA pairings). Flavors of both the pairings and within the dishes themselves were executed at a level I didn’t know was possible, especially for so many veggie dishes. And I truly enjoyed everything. There wasn’t a single dish I felt like they missed on, which I can only say I’ve experienced a couple of times, even at 3 star restaurants. 10/10 - can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Copenhagen.
Conor H — Google review
An unforgettable dialogue between flavor and soul. My dinner at Geranium was nothing short of extraordinary — and I have to say, the wine pairing was the best I’ve ever experienced in any restaurant so far. It wasn’t just about complementing the dishes — the pairing elevated each course to another dimension entirely. From the very first bite of Oysters in crispy algae, the meal began like a whisper from the ocean — delicate yet powerful. The lightly smoked bleak roe balanced gentle smokiness with a milky, comforting depth — a true Nordic poem. Later, dishes like King crab with pickled pumpkin and the celeriac & truffle “soup” showcased stunning balance and harmony, both in flavor and texture. But the wine pairing was the soul of the experience — every glass was chosen with such precision that it didn’t just match the dish; it completed it. The acidity, aroma, and timing of each pour felt like a symphony written for the palate. Every element — pacing, light, service, and even tableware — reflected Geranium’s mastery. It’s not about extravagance here; it’s about the quiet power of nature, clarity, and emotion.
Alson C — Google review
This dinner is on my top 10 favorite dinners. It was worth every penny :) Book it :) they definitely deserve their 3 stars. I really enjoyed every aspect of this dinner,I chose the juice pairings and each one went very well with each dish :) Just a fantastic experience all around. Plus the kitchen overlooks a soccer field, (get the tour of the restaurant) the wine cellar and private dining area Just a stunner of a restaurant you have to see it!!!
Ashley B — Google review
Dining at Geranium years ago left a lasting impression, from its striking design to the unparalleled food and service. The memory of my 12 course tasting menu is as fresh and inspiring as ever. The meal was a masterpiece, with each dish showcasing an incredible dedication to food and menu creation. The plating was an art form, and the way the chefs paired aromas and flavours was simply brilliant. The team's commitment was especially impressive—I had the pleasure of meeting some of the kitchen staff who were genuinely enthusiastic and deeply committed to their craft. Their dedication and creativity were evident in every dish. I recently tried to book a table but was unable to, which was a huge disappointment. This has only fueled my excitement to return in the coming months, and I'm confident that Geranium's pursuit of excellence has only continued to evolve.
Ali K — Google review
Dining at Geranium in Copenhagen was truly the most exquisite food and dining experience I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was world class. The service was outstanding—extremely personalized to each table—and what really stood out was that the chefs themselves presented the dishes they cooked, explaining every detail with passion and precision. Every course was a work of art, and many were among the most incredible dishes I’ve ever tasted. To top it all off, we were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the restaurant, including the wine room, private dining room, the football stadium it’s connected to, and the kitchen—an inspiring glimpse into the artistry that makes Geranium so special. Yes, it’s expensive, but the experience is worth every penny. A special shoutout to Niels, one of our waiters, who went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, Geranium is absolutely unmatched.
Ben T — Google review
Dining at Geranium was the most interesting and amazing experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant, and we hope to come back someday. Thank you for making our wedding day so special—we are so grateful to you. We were graciously squeezed in to celebrate our wedding here, and we have never had such an incredible dining experience. The ambiance was lovely, it felt intimate yet spacious. The service was absolutely unparalleled, unlike anything we have ever experienced. Everyone seemed excited to celebrate with us and very invested in providing a memorable and special celebration for us, they even wanted to take a picture with us. We felt welcomed and well cared for the entire time. The paper menu was beautiful, as was the printed note for the gifted wine pairing we received from a relative. One of the staff showed the room how you open a wine bottle with port tongs, which was fun. We love to cook, and one of us works in the food industry, so we were excited to learn about the dishes and the wine. All our questions were answered, and we learned a lot. The tour was interesting as well. The food was exquisite, the dishes were inventive and unique; we still think about them. Dietary restrictions were carefully considered and met. We especially enjoyed that the chefs who made the dishes came to our table to explain them. The wine pairing was delicious and very generous.

It's truly a 3-star restaurant, if not the best in the world (they got best a years back 🤭) Everything is nearly to perfection , from service, wine, and food. It was very pricey but worth it a try. But to be honest, I'm not sure that we will go back to this considering the ROI

Seafood restaurant
Kødbyens Fiskebar is a trendy restaurant located in the former meat market of Copenhagen's Vesterbro district. The industrial-style setting adds to its unique charm, offering a buzzy atmosphere for diners. The menu focuses on simple yet fresh seafood dishes, with an emphasis on presenting the fish beautifully. From freshly shucked oysters to impeccably grilled langoustines, the diverse array of seafood options caters to every taste bud.
Lively seafood restaurant. Everything I ate was simply divine. Every dish that came out was just as good as the last. I actually don’t think I can pick a favorite! The plates are small, but this worked well for me, as I was a solo diner and wanted to try many different things. There was one small issue where I spoke to a waiter, asked what another table had (because it looked good) and he misunderstood me, so when I received one plate, it was not what I wanted. The waiter handled this well and did not make me feel badly about it. They promptly brought me the item I actually wanted. I was impressed that this was handled well and they did not treat me any differently after this incident. Overall, I was very satisfied and happy with my meal here! Would definitely return the next time I’m in Copenhagen.
Michaela W — Google review
It’s rather fine dining experience than “fish bar” as name would suggest, so beware. Regardless, the food was truly amazing, huge selection of seafood dishes - all offering different tasting experience. I really liked that they don’t charge here for tap water, what is uncommon in Denmark. I can clearly recommend!
Grzegorz Ż — Google review
This was the best meal we’ve had in Copenhagen. The restaurant is super casual, funky and delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. Everything about our meal was perfect. The standout was the sea bass and the mussels. We’d happily go back and highly recommend to anyone.
Mandy R — Google review
Very unique dining experience. We had 8 to 9 small starter dishes, kind like tapas style. We really like it, that we could try all kind of seafood since they are all small dishes. The seafood are all very fresh, and cooked very creative way and with good presentation. The service we had is a bit cool but still friendly. If the service could have more intro or maybe explain the food would be perfect. I would think the food is Michelin star level, the decor is also very unique. Overall, I would recommend anyone love seafood to give a try, be open minded and enjoy the food.
Richard D — Google review
Everything was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and professional. I ordered razor clams, squid, and lobster, and it was more than enough for me. One thing I especially loved was the sourdough it was so tasty and served warm, which made it even more enjoyable. The squid was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor. And the lemonade… it was out of this world! Not like any lemonade I’ve had before so refreshing that I’d honestly come back just to drink it again. Many thanks to the service team for their kindness and professionalism, and to the kitchen team for such a wonderful meal!
Lumin L — Google review
Kødbyens Fiskebar is an absolute gem in Copenhagen. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and welcoming. The staff not only served the food but also took the time to explain each dish in detail, which made the experience even more special and memorable. We started with the soft, fluffy bread served alongside a light green whipped butter — simple, yet beautifully done. The shrimp on toast was fresh and full of flavor, perfectly balanced with a hint of citrus and creamy dressing. The fish main course, with its crispy skin and delicate sauce, was outstanding and showed real attention to detail in preparation. We also had the fish and chips, which were elevated to a whole new level: crispy, golden, and paired with a deliciously tangy remoulade. Every dish felt thoughtful, seasonal, and true to the spirit of a seafood restaurant that values quality and freshness. The atmosphere was relaxed and stylish, making it a perfect place to enjoy an evening in Copenhagen. I highly recommend Kødbyens Fiskebar for anyone who loves seafood and appreciates exceptional service. It’s not just a meal — it’s an experience.

Delicious fish in a welcoming environment and friendly service. The restaurant provides an exceptional offering of the variety of fish available from Denmark. The space in Copenhagen’s former packing market creates a lively and inviting space to sample this great and diverse cuisine. There is a wide variety of hot, cold, and raw appetizers available to choose from and the entrées are equally diverse and filling. The desert menu provides some fun ideas, including the seaweed mille-feuille. There is also a great drinks and wine selection and the staff are warm and friendly, happy to help you choose or suggest pairings.
Michael N — Google review
Food is great and very fresh — this was our second visit. Yes, it’s pricey, but so is Copenhagen overall. We stopped in for oysters and wine before heading out of town. Unfortunately, despite a shift change happening, service felt disorganized. We had to keep getting up to find someone just to place an order. For the quality of the food and the prices, the service should be much more attentive.

Høst is a stylish restaurant in Copenhagen that offers a rich and intensely rustic dining experience, blending modern trends in New Nordic cuisine with Danish design. The dining room features white walls and rustic wooden tables, creating an interesting blend of design-oriented creativity from the food, interior design, and dinnerware communities. Despite minimal interior decoration, Høst has received three international design awards and is part of Cofoco, known for bringing Scandinavian soul and simplicity into its food and decor.
Absolute gem of a restaurant! It’s a set menu but they do surprise you with some extra courses. The potato was the best thing ever. Overall really enjoyed the menu, unique flavours and textures. Highly recommend making a booking and stopping by. Perfect for a moody date night
Karen T — Google review
Høst was one of the restaurants we were excited to visit in Copenhagen; We had heard so many great things about this place so we made sure to book in advance. The restaurant is part of the Cofoco group, who are known across Copenhagen for their modern Nordic restaurants that focus on sustainability, local produce and beautiful design. Høst embodies all of that; it’s stylish yet relaxed, with lots of natural light and greenery throughout, which gave it a calm and stunning atmosphere. The greenery actually reminded me a little of Vækst, and even the way the sauces were poured over the dishes- I love sauces, so that definitely doesn’t bother me! The menu showcases modern Nordic cuisine, focusing on what's in season seasonal with lots of creative combinations. We went with the five course menu; every very dish was fresh, beautifully presented and for me, delicious! I loved all of the surprise dishes and palate cleansers that came out in between courses. The only dish that didn't blow my mind was the lobster; lacked the wow factor, but that is just my personal taste. My personal highlights were the scallops and the hake; both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! They also offer matching wines or wines by the glass, but since we’d had a few too many the night before, we went with their local kombuchas, which were amazing and paired beautifully with the meal. They do cater for food intolerances and have a vegetarian menu, which is great if you’re dining with a group. Compared to their sister restaurant, I found the experience here to feel more elevated; nothing felt rushed, and the service was spot on. Unlike some others experiences, the team explained everything with care and made sure we always had enough water and were enjoying ourselves without ever feeling over served. I’d absolutely recommend booking a table if you’re planning a trip to Copenhagen.

We had the five course dinner, and were very pleased with the experience. The restaurant is beautiful and filled with thriving plants. The food presentation is as beautiful as it was delicious. The menu was innovative and the food fresh and courses went well together. We had the lobster, and it was the best we’ve ever had and unique with the sauces and greens to complement the fish. All servers were knowledgeable and helpful, but Elizabeth, our main wait person, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Wish we were closer to become regulars.

I had an excellent experience at Host Restaurant with the 5 course menu. The chefs did an amazing job turning simple ingredients into something that tasted incredible. Every dish had great textures and flavors that worked so well together. You can tell a lot of care went into each plate. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the presentation to the pacing of the meal. Great experience!
Diana T — Google review
Great modern rearrangement of Nordic food. Unique and flavourful. I would have enjoyed it if the servers explained each dish as it was served. They are very knowledgeable when we did ask! I am a bit of a faster eater so the pace I found slow. We were there for about 2.5h for the 5 course meal (including waiting for the bill). I believe about 2h total would have been perfect.
Brandon L — Google review
The atmosphere is both rustic and elegant – warm and relaxed, yet refined. The food is creative and flavorful, with bold combinations of tastes and textures. For my palate, some flavors were perhaps a bit too intense (for example, cauliflower with truffles or thyme with mussels), but everything was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The desserts were outstanding – a perfect way to end the meal. Just as a beautiful glass enhances the enjoyment of wine, I would have appreciated cutlery that felt a little less rustic to balance the overall impression.
Marina J — Google review
Delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere! We ordered the 5 course menu and highly recommend it! They have multiple “surprise” dishes throughout the courses which were nicely timed and very good. The mussel soup was incredible and the lobster entree. Only thing I would change is the beef entree was very large and hard to cut. I think the overall flavor of the dish would benefit from a reduction in the amount of meat served. Also request the back room if possible, there is greenery everywhere that adds to the cozy feeling.

Booked a table for evening meal. Absolutely fantastic. Had the best cauliflower cheese dish I ever had. All courses were amazing and memorable too. Outstanding on all levels. Thank you

Located in the former Noma site on Christianshavn's waterfront, Restaurant Barr is a culinary gem founded by chef Thorsten Schmidt in 2017. The restaurant offers innovative interpretations of Nordic cuisine and classic dishes such as Danish frikadeller. Its name, "Barr," has historical roots as an old Irish word for crops and Old Norse for barley, a key ingredient in beer.
Their bread was delicious, waffles was so good and so was the pickle mackerel. The pickle mackerel blew my mind. The pork was delish, the grilled plaice was a little too buttery for my taste. Overall very good food and such a nice vibe.
Kerry L — Google review
Food was phenomenal, amazing taste and presentation.. we loved everything we ordered.. The reason for my 4 star is that it took 30 mins to serve the grilled waffles, then after we asked they served the open face sandwich after another 36 minutes… slow service although the place was not full!
Inas B — Google review
Great place for brunch. Attentive and friendly staff. Poured us the pairing beer for the desert during lunch to satisfy our palate. Would come out again. Schnitzel was amazing.
Alan J — Google review
Over hyped classic pub food. I visited for lunch and got an open faced sandwich the schnitzel and fried cheese. Sitting at the bar counter looking at the kitchen all three single guests commented on the very slow service. The team were very nice, but overwhelmed. I wanted to do a few glasses of natural wine, but my server was not completely familiar with the list and I ended up going for a bottle of something familiar to avoid some more awkward interactions. It’s a shame that they didn’t know the list. The open sandwich of chicken and asparagus was great. My schnitzel was well cooked but not amazing. And I was advised to go for the fried cheese for dessert. This was a massive chunk of breaded cheese that was not very flavourful. Overall it was nicely cooked pub food. But nothing was great. This would be fine, if the prices were pub prices. Whilst there is not much wrong with Barr it is not worthy of the hype or price in my opinion.

We had a great evening at Barr — the food and atmosphere were both excellent. As a family, we really enjoyed the relaxed yet upscale vibe, which made for a memorable fine dining experience without the typical formality or stress. We ordered the schnitzel, cod, beef tartare, and Mackerel fish. The schnitzel was the standout — perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The beef tartare was also a highlight, incredibly fresh and well-seasoned. The desserts were decent, though not particularly memorable. All in all, while it may not have been the absolute best high-end meal I’ve ever had, the overall experience — from the food to the setting — was top-notch. If you’re looking to spend a relaxed evening enjoying quality food in a beautiful space, Barr is definitely worth a visit.

We had the set menu for four and really enjoyed the food. The restaurant was very accommodating with dietary restrictions, which we appreciated. Standout dishes were the beef tartare and the cod — both beautifully done and full of flavor. Overall, a great food experience. That said, the service felt a bit dry and could have been warmer to match the quality of the meal.
Zeinab N — Google review
We had a 4 courses dinner menu. The baked cod with spinach made a great start, it was delicious. The beef tartar mixed with gooseberries created an interesting flavor combination. The dessert was a bit acidic for my liking. The restaurant was bustling, with the staff attentively serving customers. I liked how lively this place is, so I could unwind and relax while enjoying my food. Be sure to make a reservation, as this place is always full of diners.

Fantastic 3-course lunch! Waffle with vendace roe, classic schnitzel, and fresh raspberry sorbet – all perfectly cooked and beautifully served. We had a 3-course lunch menu that was a delight from start to finish. The waffle with vendace roe was absolutely fantastic – crisp, light, and full of flavor. The main course, a classic schnitzel with browned butter, capers, and crisp pickled cucumbers, was spot on. Dessert, a refreshing raspberry sorbet with salted crème anglaise, was both elegant and perfectly balanced. Friendly service and a beautiful view – well worth a visit! Thorsten knows what he is doing.

Gasoline Grill is a unique burger joint located at a petrol station, offering an unexpected twist on the drive-in experience. Known for serving some of the world's best burgers, it offers reasonably priced combos that include a burger, fries, and a carbonated or alcoholic drink. The famous cheeseburger is made with fresh ground organic beef and served in a potato bun with cheddar, raw onion, pickles, and their signature mayo sauce.
You need to come to the original location of Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen to instantly understand where their name comes from. They serve burgers in the former shop of a downtown gas station near Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorv. Interestingly, the place is still a functioning gas station to this day. You can fill up your car, or charge it, while waiting for your burger. The gas station is fully automatic though, no need for a cashier. That’s how the famous gas station burger occupied the former shop area and is serving probably the best burger in Copenhagen. There is a limited menu in Gasoline Grill, but I think that’s just how a great street food burger place should operate. We tasted the two most iconic ones, original burger and cheeseburger, and prefer the latter.
Balázs S — Google review
A solid North American–style burger in a fun Copenhagen setting I had been looking forward to trying this place after seeing a video on YouTube. I love the whole concept behind the Gas Station burger joint — a stylish nod to North American burger culture — and they definitely nail the vibe. As a North American myself, surrounded by some of the best burgers in the world back home, it’s always a fun experience to try the European take on a “classic” burger. But I’ll be honest: most of the time, it ends up feeling like a much more expensive version of a budget comfort food I already have access to regularly. That said — this one was a standout. If you’ve never had a proper North American–style burger and you’re in Copenhagen, this is a fantastic place to start. I had a soft, fresh buttered brioche bun, sharp orange cheddar, a classic burger sauce (think Big Mac style), sweet pickles, and a perfectly grilled, pink, juicy patty. Super well-balanced and satisfying. Final thoughts: Is it a revelation for someone from the U.S. or Canada? Probably not. But it’s a damn good version of a familiar classic, done with care and quality ingredients. If you’re craving a legit burger in Copenhagen, this place will definitely hit the spot.
Eric H — Google review
Best burgers in Copenhagen is an understatement. The line at this one was quite long but service was quick and efficient. Some seating outside. Butter burger was really good, as was the cheeseburger and vinegar fries. Lemonade not amazing but refreshing. Price quite high but worth it.
Yasir — Google review
Good quality burgers, but nothing that really stands out – there are plenty of places serving equal or even better burgers. That said, the atmosphere is cool and unique, as the food is prepared in an old gas station that’s still in operation (gasoline, diesel, and electric). The setting definitely adds some charm. We waited around 10 minutes for our food, which was reasonable. Worth a visit if you’re nearby, especially for the experience.
Björn A — Google review
After really enjoying our first visit to another branch, we decided to try the original Gasoline Grill. This one is located in an actual gas station with outdoor seating, which adds to the charm. Since we weren’t too hungry, we shared one Butterburger. Honestly, we preferred the cheeseburger we had at the other branch, but this one was still very tasty. The patty was cooked a bit more than we usually like, but it wasn’t dry at all. Definitely a spot worth trying.
Oğuzhan G — Google review
Definitely worth the 30-minute wait for a simple yet outstanding burger. The juicy, flavorful meat really stood out. Seating is limited, but there’s something fun about grabbing a burger from a gas station and eating it on the spot. A must-try when in Copenhagen!
Batuhan A — Google review
Their hamburgers are very delicious, made with high-quality meat. The fries are also very tasty, and the drinks are good too. It's no surprise it sells so well. In the evenings, there's a very long line of people, and you have to wait for an hour, but it's delicious and worth the wait. The restaurant only has one or two tables for dining in.
Prayuth P — Google review
We had to try the burger after hearing The New York Times call it the best in the world—and it totally lived up to the hype. We got both the hamburger and the cheeseburger. Super simple, but that’s what made the amazing beef and perfect grill flavor stand out even more.

Bakery
Juno the Bakery, located in Osterbro, is a popular spot known for its delectable pastries and bread. Founded by Emil Glaser, a former chef at Noma, this bakery has gained a strong following in just under a year. Customers often line up for their renowned cardamom swirls and other treats like crunchy croissants and sourdough bread. Using top-quality organic ingredients, the bakery bakes throughout the day and typically sells out quickly.
Absolutely Amazing – A Must-Visit in Copenhagen! I absolutely loved Juno the Bakery! The apple crumble pastry was sooooooo good – honestly one of the best pastries I've ever had. Every single bite was perfect. I've never had anything quite like it anywhere else. The quality, the flavor, the texture – just amazing. I still think about it and truly hope to go back someday. If you're in Copenhagen, don’t miss this place!

Seriously delicious. My husband and I came two days in a row and tried 8 different items across our visits— the cardamom bun, milk bread, seeded rye roll (with butter and cheese), pear frangepane, vanilla bun, almond pastry, princess cake, apple tart with vanilla cream. My top picks were the cardamom bun, frangepane, and the vanilla bun. However, I don’t think there are any bad options here. Everything was top quality. One of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to. Definitely worth a visit (or a few)!

What a bakery! Lovely place in Osterbro, 10'~15' by bike from the city center. You can takeout or eat on one of the outdoor tables near the entrance. Probably the best bakery I've ever been to. The apple tart is really outstanding if you're lucky enough to find it. A must visit if you're a foodie in CPH! Visited in Sep. '25.
Giovanni C — Google review
Visited around 1 pm on a weekday. There was quite a long line reaching out to the street, and I waited about 30 minutes. There were a few empty outdoor tables, so you can grab a seat while waiting in line. I bought the cardamom roll, almond croissant, and milk bun — all were delicious, but a bit too sweet for my taste.
K E — Google review
Very rare that the food actually lives up the level virality and hype that this bakery has received! The cardamom bun easily exceeds the expectations! So delicious! It’s baked consistently throughout the day so it’s always fresh no matter when you get it. What makes delicious is that there is cardamom and syrup laced in inside each crevice of the knot without being too sweet at all. It’s incredibly moist. It’s kept its price consistent over the years even though there’s lines all day! Absolutely a world class bakery Tip: visit in the afternoon to avoid the large queues. I visited at 4pm and waited 5 mins
Leslie Z — Google review
The best bakery in Copenhagen and this is coming from someone who doesn't have sweet tooth. 100% get the cardamom bun otherwise you'll regret leaving without it. There is a cute park close by with benches, would recommend sitting there instead of trying to find space in their small front porch.
Aakarshika S — Google review
The hype is real. One of the longest lines I've seen and been in to get into a bakery in a while. I got the brioche bun that came with apples. It was amazing. Blew me away. I also got a small box of shortbread cookies to go and a milk bun. Worth waiting line or getting up extra early and beating the crowds. Nice neighborhood to walk around afterwards. The new port neighborhood is down the street from this bakery.

Marv & Ben is a renowned venue in Copenhagen known for its creative locally-sourced food and organic wine list. The restaurant offers simple classics presented in an artistic manner, bursting with flavor. Embracing the New Nordic style, the seasonal menu heavily relies on Danish ingredients, some of which are sourced from their own garden. The biodynamic and organic wines complement the dishes perfectly. With a relaxed gastro-pub ambiance, Marv & Ben provides a unique dining experience in the heart of Copenhagen.
One of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Service was excellent, every dish was carefully explained to us and the time between courses was spaced out perfectly. The staff asks just enough questions to be able to tailor the experience for you while still being able to guide you through the courses. The ambiance is wonderful here. The open kitchen when you arrive is also a plus. We particularly enjoyed the gazpacho and the mackerel cucumber (first dish in the fast four). Definitely get a reservation.

A fantastic dining experience! We truly enjoyed our dinner at Marv&Ben. I had the 6-course menu with wine pairing, and my wife had the 4-course menu. The staff were incredibly helpful, even made changes to my wife's dishes to suit her needs. All the food was excellent. The white wines in the pairing were outstanding, though I feel the red wine choices could be improved. Overall, a must-visit restaurant for anyone in Copenhagen

We celebrated our wedding dinner here with our family (a group of 8), and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, communication with the restaurant was smooth and easy. We booked the private room, which turned out to be absolutely perfect for the occasion. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the service — Antonio, our host, was exceptional. Kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. He made us feel incredibly well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was spectacular. Every dish was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and paired wonderfully. It was, without a doubt, the best dining experience we’ve ever had. Our family keeps talking about how incredible everything was! Special shoutout, too, for how well they accommodated dietary restrictions — everyone was looked after with care. We are so thankful to the entire team who made the evening so special. This dinner will forever be a cherished memory!

Where to start? Everything was just too good. I shouldn’t go into details because I would end up writing a novel. I must say though, must everything in this city be so absolutely tasty!? it’s outrageous! Everybody’s so kind here and everybody that has a restaurant has done their homework. I am impressed. Congratulations! I am awarding you a medal of scrumptious honor. I will have to come back every year or so to make sure the medal is still there. Until next time!

With over a decade of Michelin stars proudly displayed at the entrance, expectations were high. But the experience fell flat immediately. The interior felt dark and average, with loud, unfitting music, cheap-looking décor, and even fake flowers. Coats hanging in the middle of the dining room made the space look messy and unrefined. Service was underwhelming: despite sharing our allergies in advance, the staff couldn’t confidently explain what was safe for us to eat. Which is unacceptable at any level, let alone a Michel restaurant. The 6-course menu was the biggest disappointment. The bread was undercooked and had to be sent back, the second bread was also undercooked, the fish dishes were bland, and the tartare lacked any flavour. Only the main course stood out. Overall, far below what one expects from a Michelin-awarded restaurant in Copenhagen. Not worth the hype, and definitely not worth the money.
Martina L — Google review
Everything about this place was amazing. The food, the people, and the ambiance. They have two sets of tasting menus (a six course and a four course) and an option to order items À la carte… I opted for the four course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Everything was explained well and every bite was an exploration of flavors and textures. I went as a solo diner and it was a great experience overall… I hope to return to this restaurant on my next trip to Copenhagen
Julia K — Google review
One of the best bib gourmand Michelin restaurants I have ever visited so far. Very very well balanced menu and perfect ingredient mixing. Absolutely worth the visit. Surprised that they don’t have one star rating. Waiters were, some very experienced, and one or two very new. I missed to be offered the caviar extra and the great story of the wild blueberries used for the dessert. But if a staff is not trained well, then some info is not relayed to the customer. But i managed to overhear these stories from other tables. And i know when i eat wild blueberries. Its a very different taste.

The restaurant features a stunning two-story greenhouse with an abundance of plants and herbs that create a vibrant atmosphere for diners. The menu at Vækst focuses on Nordic cuisine, with an emphasis on vegetables complemented by meats, fish, and seafood. The owners have aimed to evoke the feeling of an endless Danish summer within the restaurant's indoor-outdoor setting.
We had an unforgettable dinner experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely incredible – every single dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Without a doubt, this was the best steak we’ve ever had in Copenhagen. Truly outstanding. The service started off a bit slow; it took some time before anyone came to our table. However, once things got going, the staff took very good care of us and made sure we were comfortable and well looked after. One odd part of the experience was the seating arrangement. Our friends had made a reservation in advance and mentioned that it was for a wedding celebration. Despite this, we were initially offered bar stools, which felt a bit inappropriate for the occasion. Thankfully, after we asked, they moved us to a regular table. The only real downside was the lack of air conditioning – it was quite hot inside, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable at times. Still, the quality of the food and the overall experience more than made up for it. Highly recommended for the food alone.
Nikolaj S — Google review
Our first dinner in Copenhagen was at Vækst, and it set a beautiful tone for the trip. The restaurant, part of the Cofoco group and tucked beside Hotel SP34, feels like stepping into a greenhouse; filled with plants, glass, and soft light. We were seated downstairs, which was quiet and calm, a lovely start to the evening. We chose the three course menu and really enjoyed it. The salted halibut and fried plaice were incredible, perfectly cooked and delicious. I also appreciated how easily they made my husband’s dishes dairy free, and the small bites between courses were thoughtful and delicious. The staff were friendly and polite, but something about the service felt a little impersonal; it took a while for anyone to greet us or explain the menu, and wine recommendations did not happen as there was no sommelier. Everything ran smoothly and at the same time food came out fast if that makes sense; and that warmth and storytelling that make a dining experience truly special were missing for me. Still, the food was delicious and although our experience wasn’t completely perfect, I would absolutely recommend Vækst for a lovely dinner or lunch in Copenhagen. NOTE: For those who like less noise, book the earliest seating while it is still reasonable for nice conversation.

Magnificent! Excellently executed food and outstanding atmosphere and service! We took 3-course menus with wine pairings and this was plenty of food (honestly don’t know how hungry you must be for a 4 course menu). They add additional mini-dishes in between main servings so there will be enough great food coming your way! Wine pairings are very generous too! Very good amount of wine, every serving.

We had lunch at Vækst in Copenhagen as part of our wedding celebration with close friends and family – and it was such a lovely experience. We were a group of nine and went for the three-course lunch menu, with drinks à la carte. The service was incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive from start to finish. We were seated upstairs, with the windows open and fresh air coming in, which made the atmosphere feel relaxed and summery. We really appreciated the small greetings from the kitchen in between the courses – especially before the starter and main course – which helped bridge the time nicely and made it feel even more thoughtful. The only downside was that the wait between the main course and dessert was a bit too long, and by the time coffee arrived, it was not really hot anymore. That said, everything else was perfect. The food, the setting, the people – it all made for a memorable afternoon. We’d absolutely recommend Vækst and would gladly come back.

Best scallops I've ever had! Apple sorbet was also amazing! The meat is better than the fish for the main course. The restaurant has a set 3 course menu so not too much choosing needed. You pick between the normal one or the vegetarian one or the 4 course one, and for each of those you can spend extra for the version with the wine pairing. Really cute ambiance and great service!

This was our second booking with a restaurant in the Cofoco group and it was yet another excellent meal. The restaurant is spread across 2 floors and seemed quieter on the below ground floor, with big party groups upstairs. Service was a little slow to start with, but excellent, and staff had no trouble dealing with a request for a gluten free meal. The presentation of the dishes is spectacular, and every course was superb. There’s a very good range of wines by the glass, and for the city, and the quality, this was an excellent value meal.

Took forever to get our table even though we had a reservation. Then it took forever to bring out the food. And it was pretty disastrous. Had the 4 course menu. Bread is rock hard, butter had no taste. Complimentary foods were okay. Scallops are freezing cold and no taste whatsoever. Caviar is forgettable. Tatar of beef is mushy, tastless, cold. The potato chips are lacking imagination. Complimentart mushroom soup is salted to the point you can't eat it. Main course of tenderloin was tasty tho the portion is small. I tasted the fried cod as well it was mediocre at best. Had the apple sorbet for dessert, which was the only exciting dish. The cream was phenomenal. But again, it was like 2 bites. Waiters were great but the service is slow. Avoid.

I had the 4 course dinner menu and enjoyed all the dishes. The salmon Tatar and mushroom soup were the standouts. Beef tenderloin was solid but didn’t necessarily blow me away. I find restos often drop the ball with dessert hit the apple sorbet was phenomenal. Highly recommend it. Food was 4.5/5. The restaurant was cozy and had a warm ambience to it. 4/5 Service was decent. But, probably could have been warmer. While I don’t like being asked how the food is after every dish, it’s odd that they didn’t ask even once or twice. So I’d give service a 3/5 for being decent overall, but could improve on warmth and friendliness. 3.5/5

One of Copenhagen's best restaurants and premier for special events. Impeccable service with chefs delivering and explaining each part of the tasting menu. The number of courses is almost overwhelming, but the staff allows you time to experience it. You may be here 2-4 hours and if you choose the tasting menu, have plenty of room and eat very lightly the day of your reservation. Dishes are creative and complex, with each dish arriving like a work of art. Some bites are sublime, and others take you through degrees of savory. Ancient ingredients are reimagined. We chose the wine pairing, which is 5 different wines after the champagne opener. It was an incredible experience and perfect for our anniversary. Highly recommend for memorable experience.

Food and flavors are solid without much effort on making some intricate pieces on the plates. The baby pine cone desert was surprisingly good. We were really amazed by the building. I wished we knew more about the history of the building. The construction of the ceiling must be very difficult - the geometry and symmetry looks perfect to me. And, the food matches up the architect. We were told "It's an old building". We knew Copenhagen is an old city, but we didn't expect there to be so many really well preserved "centuries old" buildings and city blocks.

This is our favorite restaurant in Denmark! Dining in the basement of Motke Palace was priceless. The staff made sure we felt comfortable throughout the night. The courses were Nordic based diet, simple but not boring. I tried turbot for the first time. It is a very fishy type of seafood, and they prepared it so well as the main course. I had no issue appreciating the main dish.

As expected, a superb dining experience. We brought my 9 year old niece, who loved more than a few of the 17 courses, and the staff were very gracious and kind. I recommend the juice pairing for adventurous non-drinkers.

I am so happy to have been here for the opening night of their new restaurant space. Absolutely unbelievably good meal, lived up to all expectations. This is the one restaurant that I have been to in the last several years that I believe is underrated, even though it has 2-Michelin stars. The space is wonderfully pointed in clean with such elegant design choices. The food is second to none, obviously, each dish was just perfect. All of the wait staff were polished and friendly and genuine in their interactions. I had some very nice one on one time with several members of the staff because a|o|c had a very limited seating on this opening night. After spending a week in Copenhagen, this is surely the meal of the trip. I will look forward to watching this restaurants progress, and hopefully visiting again in the future.

We went in April 2023 when we visited from Canada. This was an experience of a lifetime! Very pricy and very worth it. All the details and such quality of food, pairings, servers, chefs, location…it SO ticked all the boxes! We had the set menu. Dispute the super high end dining the staff were funny, friendly and made everyone at ease. It did not disappoint. An unforgettable experience!

Restaurant
Alchemist is a unique and immersive dining venue in Copenhagen, known for its high-concept dishes and robust wine list. The restaurant offers an outrageous sense-spinning experience with 50 small courses and an explosion of impressions curated by maverick chef Rasmus Munk. Diners can expect a choreographed immersive experience, where they move through 50 food and drink pairings divided into five acts, often with a political statement or specific social issue in mind.
Dining at Alchemist is not just a meal—it's an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience that challenges every expectation of what food can be. From the moment you enter the striking bronze doors, you're transported into a meticulously curated world where art, science, and gastronomy converge. Each of the 50+ courses is presented with theatrical flair and profound creativity, inviting not just your palate, but your mind, to engage with deeper themes—sustainability, social issues, and the future of food. Chef Rasmus Munk and his team are true visionaries. Dishes are not only flawlessly executed but often thought-provoking, blurring the lines between performance art and fine dining. Whether it's a course inspired by climate change or an edible sculpture with an ethical message, every bite tells a story. The immersive dome, the ever-evolving visuals, and the interplay of light, sound, and scent add to the dreamlike quality of the evening. Service is impeccable—attentive yet relaxed, knowledgeable without being overbearing. Alchemist is not for the faint of heart, nor for those seeking a traditional dinner. But for those willing to surrender to the unknown, it's a transcendent experience that leaves a lasting impression. A meal here is more than dinner—it's a conversation, a spectacle, and a masterpiece.

Obviously very unique experience. Although it's quite expensive but it does worth the money. It is not only about the food while part of the dishes not really about being tasty but some kind of the statement. All around they have an amazing cocktails and wine list. In some of the dishes the chef combines successfully great taste with the statement, in some of them the taste wasnt the issue. Bottom line- highly recommended experience

Extraordinary experience for the eyes, mouth and brain! Chef Rasmus was very present during the service, presenting three impressions and came by to chat as the meal was winding down at the lounge, which was a great opportunity to ask questions and take pictures!

The best dining (and hospitality) experience I've ever had. The dishes range from innovative spins on classic flavors from around the world to avant-garde art bites meant to challenge the way you think about what we eat and why we eat it. Provocative, challenging, educational, and delicious. The many changes in setting (the meal is served across five rooms) built a huge sense of anticipation across the night, and the multi-sensory experience of the main dining room is almost overwhelming at times. Above all, though, the impression I will be left with is how incredible the service at Alchemist is. Every dish was presented with a story to help contextualize our experience, and the beverage pairings (both wine and non-wine) were unreal. Service was attentive, fluid, and highly flexible. Our sommelier, Paolo, was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and able to create an experience that felt special and personalized to us as guests. The care that goes into the customer experience is evident across all team members. Could not recommend the Alchemist highly enough.

The best dining experience I’ve ever had. The staff was super friendly, and made sure our experience was perfectly in order. When it comes to the food… words are not enough to express their taste. It was not just a delicious meal but a sensory tease in every aspect. Visuals, music, the stories and morals behind each dish… This is a must visit experience for everyone seeking more than just food and taste. I can not call this place just a restaurant, as it is way more than that. I wouldn’t imagine a dish could change my perspective in different aspects of life and made me more conscious about deep topics that we don’t really think about in our daily lives. Outstanding!

Danish restaurant
Bar
Selma is a popular restaurant in Copenhagen known for its innovative take on traditional Danish cuisine, particularly smorrebrod. The restaurant has gained recognition for its high-quality dishes and was awarded the best smorrebrod in town in 2021. Partnering with Mikkeller, Selma offers a selection of draft artisan ales from various micro-breweries to complement its menu.
We tried all six herring smørrebrød options at Selma, and it was a truly memorable culinary experience. Each dish offered a unique blend of traditional Danish flavours with a fresh, modern twist. Among the selection, the Beetroot and hibiscus herring stood out for its fresh, floral notes. Equally impressive was the Fennel and black pepper herring, which was beautifully creamy and perfectly balanced with a touch of spice. While every variation was worth trying, these two are my favourite. The very kind staff walked us through each dish, explaining the ingredients, techniques, and inspirations behind bites. Their enthusiasm for the food truly enhanced our appreciation of the meal. To finish, we shared a small cheese platter, which featured two kinds of cheese and slices of bread—just enough to end on a rich, satisfying note without feeling too heavy. We're glad we didn't skip it! If you're curious about modern interpretations of this classic Danish food, Selma is absolutely worth a visit!

Exceedingly delicious! We opted for the smorgasbord instead of the fixed menu and it did not disappoint. Highlights were the salmon, herring with pickled rhubarb and veal tongue with peas. The restaurant is quite petite and oh so lovely inside. Not a bad seat in the house.

Selma offers a creative and modern twist on the classic Danish smørrebrød. The dishes are beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and perfect for exploring traditional cuisine in a new way. They also have a great selection of local beers. The wine list is extensive, the service is top-notch, and the space is stylish and welcoming

Delicious and inspired takes on traditional open-faced sandwiches. Exceptional service and calm, low-key vibes. As a vegetarian I recommend their creative and tasty celeriac option. Also a great selection of friend and pickled herring.

The place is very nice and the food is delicious. We liked very much beetroot, chicken, beef and herring. We didnt like so much potato and the cabbage, although the cabbage with the chicken one was great! Also the service was not so good, they forgot to put the plates for us when the food arrived and we waited until the second waitress came, we asked for some ingridients in the dish but the waitress couldnt remember what exactly is in it. We payed 200€ for 7 types of smorrebrod and two glasses of wine

Absolutely delicious and inventive Smørrebrød, I wish I could have tried them all! Beautiful decor inside too. We got the elderflower herring, fried herring, salmon, and one with inexplicable vegetables and brown butter that was simply stunning. Highly recommend any dish with brown butter, they apply it tableside!

Highly recommended! • Hallernes Smørrebrød – A great way to taste traditional Danish open-faced sandwiches. They offer different flavors, and I tried the smoked salmon and blue cheese. The presentation was beautiful and perfect for photos. • Hav – I tried their sashimi platter and oysters. Super fresh and tasty!

This was the standout attraction for us in our 4 day stay in Copenhagen, and we came here every morning for breakfast, stocked up on cheese and salads for lunch, dropped in for tea, coffee and pastries, and twice for dinner. There’s, a small, overpriced fruit and vegetable market between the two buildings, but the real stars here are the specialist stalls inside selling pastries, snacks, cheese and meats, fresh seafood, tea and coffee and just about anything else you can think of. It’s not the biggest food hall in Europe, so it’s easy to navigate, but every stall is a gem. A must visit, often, on any trip to Copenhagen.

TorvehallerneKBH is an amazing food market i the heart of Copenhagen! I visited looking for fresh stenbiderrogn (lumpfish roe), which is only available during the spring season. The vendors were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great tips on how to enjoy the roe. I bought fresh roe and made a traditional Danish dish at home: small pancakes with a dollop of sour cream, finely chopped onion, and fresh roe on top. It was absolutely delicious - delicate, creamy, and festive. Perfect spot for anyone looking for high-quality seafood and traditional Danish delicacies. Highly recommend!

Fantastic food and wonderful service at this gem of a restaurant near to the central train station in Copenhagen. The mussel soup was outstanding, the cod my wife ordered was also very good. Not usually one for the dessert being the star, but the caramelised brioche with icecream was amazing!

This place impresses with its exceptional, high-quality cuisine and top-notch service. During dinner, I was attended to by four different staff members, each of whom showed great professionalism and was exceptionally kind. Such service makes every visit here truly special. Every dish was beautifully presented and delighted with its richness of flavor. A place definitely worth visiting again.

It was overall a lovely dining experience – the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the presentation of the dishes was truly beautiful. That being said, I found the main courses, the chicken and the ribeye steak, to be somewhat underwhelming. While well-cooked and visually attractive, they lacked the essential element I look for when dining out: bold, memorable flavour. I was expecting a certain richness or a burst of taste that would elevate the dishes, but instead they felt rather plain, without the excitement or depth that makes a meal stand out. With such a great atmosphere and strong first impressions, a little more creativity and intensity in flavour could truly turn the experience from pleasant to unforgettable.

We made a last minute reservation for 5:45 on a Friday night and were delighted to get in. The food was delicious and for us, plentiful. We each ordered snacks and bubbles, a single order of Hiramasa to share and each ordered the cod. This was plenty of food for us. Delicious and beautifully presented. The wait staff was gracious and helpful. Highly recommend.

Really good experience overall. The dishes were delightful, well served and the quality of the food was top level. I’ve been here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. She is lactose intolerant and I specified it through the booking form on the website. Unfortunately I had to remember it when they brought us the bisque but they were ready and quick to apologize and bring us a lactose free alternative. The service was perfect apart from this little oversight and the dishes have been served in perfect timing, paying attention at the pauses between one serving and the next. I will surely come back in the future and I truly recommend the restaurant!

Alouette is an innovative restaurant located in the Islands Brygge waterfront neighborhood of Copenhagen. The relaxed setting offers tasting menus and wine pairings that showcase the chef's expertise in creating eclectic dishes inspired by seasonal produce from local producers. The restaurant is known for its unique sauces and regularly changing menus, featuring dishes like caviar with sunflower seed fudge and intricately plated creations.
A truly outstanding culinary experience that exceeded all my expectations. The tasting menu was beautifully presented and explained, thoughtfully designed to make the most of top-quality local produce from selected farms. The menu focused on products from four different farms. The first part was vegetable-based, with flavorful vegetables and greens. The second part featured two dishes centered around monkfish, both of excellent quality and taste. The third part was centered around pork, using the product to its fullest, and the final sweet courses were the perfect ending to the meal. Each dish offered a refined and original combination of flavors, with meticulous presentation and exceptional ingredients. The wine pairing was spot on and very well explained, complementing the food perfectly. One of the highlights of the experience was the service, which was not only warm and attentive, but also presented each dish with care and professionalism

Michelin star experience I will never forget—easily the best dining of my life. From the moment we stepped into the serene courtyard, guided in warmly by the staff, Restaurant Alouette delivered something far beyond food. Jackets taken, preferences noted (including special care for my pregnant fiancée), and we were seated for a journey that felt like stepping into a living, breathing kitchen symphony. The service was extraordinary—a hive mind of grace and timing. Staff moved with quiet precision, each person playing their role without ever feeling rehearsed or robotic. They simply flowed. We chose the non-alcoholic pairing, and I genuinely believe it’s the only way to go. Each house-made juice was crafted specifically for the course it accompanied—from a shiso-plum pairing with milk bread and bone broth, to combinations so perfectly tuned you forget wine was ever an option. Why drink something generic when the restaurant is giving you Michelin-starred creativity in a glass? Now, the food. 14 courses, each remarkable, but the main dish of braised rib and pork loin stood out as a masterclass. It was rich, balanced, and beautifully elevated by its surroundings—juices, sauces, the bread, the company, everything. You don’t eat here. You experience here. But what made the evening unforgettable was the personal touch from the team. One staff member casually asked what brought us to Copenhagen. We mentioned a martial arts camp—no big deal. But soon other staff were greeting us like legends: “Oh! You’re the martial artists!” “Wait till you meet our chef—he trains too!” Then after dinner, in the lounge for tea and treats, the chef himself emerged like an old friend, arms open, exclaiming “You’re the brown belt in jiu-jitsu?” (A detail we never even shared. The back-of-house detective work was top tier.) We laughed, chatted, shared passions—and it was clear: this staff genuinely enjoys connecting with guests. As if that weren’t enough, I later complimented another staff member for sharing cool trivia about the table design—and it turned out he was the owner. He sat with us, spoke warmly about the vision he and his wife brought to life, and left us feeling less like guests, and more like participants in something truly human. ⸻ In a city overflowing with Michelin stars, I couldn’t be more grateful this was the one we booked. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an evening we’ll treasure for a long, long time. Thank you, Alouette. We can’t wait to return.

We visited Alouette for the first time as a group of four, and it was an unforgettable evening. The entire experience was beautifully curated – from the atmosphere to the exceptional service and, of course, the food. One dish that truly stood out was the zucchini with caviar and Champagne sauce – an elegant combination that was both delicate and rich in flavor. Every course was a delight, but that one was simply unforgettable. The service was equally impressive. Our Hungarian waiter was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the evening. His friendly and professional demeanor added a lot to the overall experience. Alouette delivered on every level – we’ll definitely be coming back!

Restaurant Koan, which opened in 2020 as a pop-up by Chef Kristian Baumann, has now found a permanent home in the old Relae. Combining Nordic cuisine with his Korean heritage, Baumann presents visually stunning dishes such as langoustine wrapped in nori with rhubarb and caviar. The menu also features unique items like braided milk doughnuts and mandu dumplings stuffed with fjord shrimp and Korean chili sauce.
Interesting dinner! Best thing about the evening was the menu progression. It was planned in a genius way and it totally makes sense once you completed it. At the start, the snacks were good and fresh, but didn't have a wow factor. Then we received the oyster and it was quite nice, maybe a slightly wow factor. At this stage i was worries, is this place all bells and whistles and they forgot the flavours? I was wrong, because from there every dish just kept getting better. The caviar ball was possibly on the top 2 best things i've ever eaten, EVER. The bread was amazing, the main courses were to die for. I was a little hungry by the time the main course arrived. But then it was this very comforting big bowl of rice with all this delicious bits and pieces in it. It was trully fantastic. Desserts were 10/10, there is caviar in the dessert, matched with a beautiful Souffle! WHATS NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THAT! What a treat. I think about this meal everyday and can't wait to be back!

Dining at Koan was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We enjoyed the full tasting menu and savoured every bite. Each dish was beautifully crafted, balancing Korean roots with Nordic ingredients in a way that felt both deeply personal and incredibly refined. The sommelier’s wine recommendations perfectly complemented each course, and the evening service was flawless, attentive, warm, and thoughtful without ever feeling intrusive. The attention to detail extended far beyond the food: even the coffee, brewed with April beans and weighed with precision, reflected the team’s steadfast dedication to craft at every level. Koan is not just a meal but a carefully orchestrated journey that reflects Chef Kristian Baumann’s story and vision. It is an absolute must for anyone seeking one of Copenhagen’s finest and most memorable dining experiences.

Certainly some amazing dishes and some just okay and you may leave still a bit hungry if you have a large appetite. Probably a meal on our personal top 3 ever in Copenhagen! The last time we had a meal with balanced, fantastic flavours, exciting new aromatic combinations and a wine pairing that blew us away was at Geranium. This restaurant outperforms many Michelin stars restaurants we have been to!

It's a wonderful experience. Korean based 2-star Michelin restaurant. Some of the tables (near the entrance) have a great view of the open kitchen, allowing to witness the preparation of the dishes and the immaculate choreography of kitchen and service staff. Service is very friendly and attentive. The chef is very present, keeping a very attentive look to customers for the best experience, very customer-centric. The dishes are immensely creative, with many intricate details, textures and flavours. We accompanied the meal with a Sool mixed pairing, alternating Sool and non-alcoholic beverages. Probably the best option as we felt a purely Sool pairing would be too heavy. Wine, Prestige wine and Champagne pairings are also available. Judging from what the neighbouring tables received, they seemed like good options too. We felt that Sool was more fitting to the occasion though. Overall a very positive experience, only slightly disturbed by a noisy table, but admittedly not something the restaurant can do much about.

Manfreds, located on Jaegersborggade since 2010, offers creative cuisine in a cozy setting with closely packed tables and 20 bar seats for walk-in guests. The restaurant is known for integrating natural wines into its farm-to-table ethos. Owned by Christian Puglisi, Manfreds prioritizes serving organic food and features a beverage menu that focuses on wines free from industrial manipulation, reflecting the terroir where they were harvested.
Manfreds will be remembered as our first phenomenal meal in Copenhagen. A glimpse of insight on Puglisi’s food (Manfreds is Relæ’s laid back sibling). Above all expectations and a truly wonderful experience. 90%-100% of produce they serve is organic, most of the vegetables and meat from their own farm and the wine is natural. Great people and even better playlist (Mac deMarco, Jack Johnson,...). We had 5 courses to share, family style and the signature tartare with cress and rye bread (sourdough). My favorite dishes were the poached egg in dashi with enoki mushrooms and grilled baby cabbage with pork neck. The signature tartar shouldn’t be missed as well. Make yourself a favor and GO THERE :)

A smallish resto which is kinda hard to get in. A fixed priced menu of mostly veggies. The waiter acted trying to be efficient but busy.. dont give enough time to describe the dishes. Hence we basically were eating green salad and appetizers plus one very cutely cut meat dish. Plating is conventional and does not leap the eye given the price , it was underwhelming.

Absolutely loved everything about this place, tasty organic food of 7 course chef’s choice at a very reasonable price. Cosy vibes, friendly staff and very attentive services. Can’t wait to go back and try the beef tartare.

Whatever you do order the beef tartare!!! Best I’ve had in my life and I always keep coming back. Other than that, their dishes are always seasonal and delicious. The bread is also great as it comes from Mirabelle bakery. Great service and cosy spot! Must visit in Copenhagen 👌

The food was good, though definitely not comfort food (for a vegan at least!)... it was very simple and clean and I guess that’s ok, but definitely not mind-blowing. The main reason for 3 stars is that the service was really not great before we got a table, and not so good after, even! We tried to book a table, but they wouldn’t take reservations on the phone, and directed us to the website, and also said we probably didn’t need a reservation... However, the website gave an error. So we just turned up. We were told 15m wait. 15m later we were told 2m more. Then another 10m later we were told 2m more. Then about 40m after we arrived, I was a bit frustrated so I asked for more clarity, and finally they found us a table immediately (?? How long was that table free?). Then when we ordered the food (only 3 dished on the menu were vegan), there was a very long gap between the raw and cooked food. Unluckily I had all the raw dishes, so that meant I was eating alone for a good 10-15m and had finished my first two dishes by the time my friend’s dishes arrived. Add to that that the drinks menu is not much fun unless you drink wine - they don’t even have a caffeine free tea - and that justified the 3 stars in my view...

Coming in from a vegetarian culture, I guess I expect something different. To us this experience was decent but not extraordinary. The venue is somewhat like a bar and comfortable. I wouldn't go back a second time.

Studio X Kitchen is a design gallery and showroom with a sleek, minimalist Scandinavian design. The open seating system can be chaotic during busy times, but the food and decor are top-notch. It's a hidden gem where you can enjoy delicious food, great coffee, and meet welcoming creative people. The focus on minimal Scandinavian design enhances the dining experience, and the staff is friendly with great energy.
Who would have thought a folded egg could be this good? Absolutely amazing dish and their salad were generous. Not the cheapest lunch in Copenhagen, but definitely one of the best ones!

went there on a rainy morning - only spot I went with a canopy to temporarily keep me from the rain so I didn’t mind the queue! The team were super friendly and attentive despite being busy. Good warm food (love the focaccia so much) cozy atmosphere with good vibes, glad I didn’t back out when I saw the queue, everything was worth it :))

Great coffee and eggs! Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Space is limited. I recommend getting there early to ensure you can grab a table. They offer interior and exterior seating when the weather cooperates. Also good selection of fresh pastries.

Great spot for breakfast! I really loved how the folded egg was cooked — perfectly soft and flavorful. The focaccia had such a nice texture, light but satisfying. I sat inside, and while the air didn’t flow very well, the atmosphere was still nice. Despite being really busy in the morning, the staff were attentive. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

#toast 539 — had to say that this is probably one of my favourite cafes in copenhagen that I do see myself coming back to. their house made focaccia is so lovely. perfectly fluffy, hydrated and has a soft chew. i got the anchovies with the egg and the slight saltiness in the anchovies were nicely balanced with the soft sweetness from the focaccia. this place feels like a sweet community- small, yet cozy. would recommend you to go on a cozy weekday :) follow @nomkakaii on Instagram for more toast travels!

Stumbled upon this spot on Google Maps while in town for a visit and it was of the most memorable meals! The atmosphere was restful and well-curated, the staff treated us like friends, and on top of that the food was delicious! I love a simple menu—it means they have mastered each item! Special shout out to the awesome dishware.

I love folded eggs + nduja butter here so much! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the sauce is slightly spicy which is a perfect combination. Friendly service & staff. Highly recommended!

Had a great experience at Kitchen Studio! I ordered the Folded Eggs and Housemade Salad, and it was absolutely delicious — fresh and flavorful. The granola was also excellent, made with nuts, though I felt the nuts were slightly over-roasted and had a faint burnt taste. That’s my only minor note, as everything else was perfect. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely coming back😍

Danish restaurant
Restaurant Schønnemann is a historic and iconic eatery in Copenhagen, dating back to 1877. It's renowned for its traditional Danish smørrebrød (open sandwiches) and aquavit. The menu offers a wide selection of classic open-faced sandwiches, such as pickled herring, shrimp, and potato smørrebrød, all made with organic ingredients. The restaurant boasts an extensive beverage selection including 24 beers and over 140 types of aquavit.
We ended up here on recommendation - quite spontaneously and without a reservation. Apparently we were quite lucky, based on what other guests said on the doorstep, who had all booked several weeks in advance! The restaurant is a little off the beaten track in one of the many side streets and is also quite inconspicuous from the outside. Inside, however, it impresses with its typical, traditional Danish interior. First of all, the service is terrific! Outstanding! On a par with many Michelin star restaurants. Polite, humorous, helpful, super fast and quite discreet! The menu includes many traditional Danish smørrebrød and other regional specialties! If you want to have a private and quiet conversation, you should perhaps look around for a quieter alternative. But if you prefer the sociable, sometimes noisy hustle and bustle, you'll feel right at home here. Very nice ambience, good atmosphere and really excellent food! Anyone in Copenhagen should definitely stop by here! Not cheap, but fair for the quality on offer! Clear recommendation!

Nice place to have lunch, seems popular with both tourists and locals. We did not make reservation and were lucky to have a table for a hour plus which was enough. Very friendly and good service and delicious food. We were recommended to try the colourless spirit which matches the food well. Highly recommended.

Very nice place to try traditional herring and open sandwiches. Some sandwiches are really big enough, I would rather say that it is not a sandwich, but a core dish. The atmosphere is perfect, the reservation is easy to make. My best recommendations for visiting this place

Long time since my last visit. This time on A Monday for early lunch. When making the reservation I got on a waiting list so happy to get a table. The place is very nice and superpopular so a reservation is needed - an early one. Great big menu of food, drinks and snaps. Will be back again.

Schønnemann in Copenhagen is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience defined by exceptional service and outstanding cuisine. From the moment you step through the door, you are met with a warmth and attentiveness that is genuinely lovely, making you feel welcomed and cared for throughout your entire meal. The food itself is a testament to quality ingredients and careful preparation. I had the tenderloin pork with mushrooms, and it was a dish of pure comfort and sophistication. The pork was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and juicy, with a delicate, savory flavor that spoke to its quality. Paired with it were perfectly sautéed mushrooms, which were rich and earthy, providing a wonderful textural and flavor contrast to the succulent pork. The combination was simple yet flawless, with each component enhancing the other to create a dish that was both hearty and refined. Overall, Schønnemann stands out not only for its delicious food but for the genuine hospitality of its team. The combination of the tenderloin pork with mushrooms and the lovely service made for a truly wonderful dining experience. It's a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic danish meal that feels both special and satisfying.

Everything about the place was lovely. The service was spot on and the kind waiter adapted switch even to Swedish to communicate with us. The food tasted amazing and he surely recommended us nice dishes. On top of that we forgot our sunglasses at the restaurant and they waited 15 minutes after closing for us to pick up the sunglasses. Very nice place and happy to have visited it :)

Fine dining restaurant
Aamanns 1921 is a renowned restaurant in Copenhagen, known for its traditional and contemporary Danish cuisine. The establishment offers a variety of classic dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, but it's most famous for its creative take on smorrebrod, an open-faced sandwich. The signature dish features grilled sirloin with fried eggs, mushrooms, and roasted pumpkins and is considered one of the best in the city.
I went with a local friend, and it’s clear why this place is so well-regarded. They specialize in smørrebrød, the Danish type of tartine with varieties for every taste: fish, meat, veggie. They’re also very accommodating, offering gluten-free and lactose-free versions of their smørrebrød. A special bonus: they even have their own Aquavit (Danish schnapps), which adds a nice authentic touch to the experience. The staff is lovely and the restaurant is spacious, though I’d still recommend making a reservation.
Michel P — Google review
We had the 8-course tasting menu. Apparently the dishes were designed by the restaurant to be shared. This concept worked reasonably well for the starters, but it did not felt right for the main course, which was unfortunately served cold. Overall, the execution of the menu didn’t quite meet our expectations. The service was warm and professional. However, our table was placed in a corner and we were often overlooked, which made it difficult to get the staff’s attention at times. All in all, a mix of thoughtful ideas and good service, but the experience didn’t fully deliver.

The shrimp open sandwich is heavenly good! Even the shadow is artistic! I wanna go back and try it again It’s weird though, that although there are empty seats, walk in guests were told that it was fully booked. Until I finished my meal, the seats were still empty. Maybe they thought everyone wanted a 2-3 hour proper dinner so there wasn’t enough time for that.

An excellent restaurant that caters to all tastes. It’s very well priced compared to some of the other restaurants in Copenhagen. The desserts are a must try, especially the one with Danish chocolate on brioche bread.

Had an amazing time at Aamanns! Trying the Smørrebrød for first time and it was delicious. The service was excellent and very attentive. They have the option for lunch menu which I choose. It lets you choose 2 savoury Smørrebrød and one sweet. I had the traditional salmon one ofcourse which was excellent and very fresh and they kindly also made the chicken salad one without bacon. Will definitely visit again if I am ever back to Copenhagen.

charging 70dkk for water is a lot. Food was good but overpriced. Them not giving a full basket of rye bread for the most expensive thing on the menu also feels insane. Especially because you are allowed to get more but they have to serve it to you like you are getting meat at a buffet is not a classy experience. I wish they would not do the random efforts to make more money when they already charging 200+ for something that cost them 25dkk to make. The salmon is the best on the menu btw to anyone who might be reading this. She also seemed a bit weird about me tipping 40dkk but I just don't think we have tipping culture in Denmark so I just did cause she didn't do anything bad. She seemed stressed out tho. I will end by saying that the cook is very gifted but that I think other aspects are lacking.

What a stunning restaurant - modern, elegant, and filled with natural light. Aamanns 1921 was recommended to us by a Danish friend, and as visitors from Australia, we were very pleased with our experience here. The food was outstanding - beautifully presented, rich in flavour, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Our waitress was not only attentive but also very knowledgeable, taking time to explain the dishes and share insights. It was a true fine dining experience with a Nordic twist. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Copenhagen!

Norrlyst is a charming restaurant located in an intimate basement in central Copenhagen. The rustic farm tables and cognac-colored leather chairs create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offers a four-course set option with seasonal ingredients, including both meat and vegetarian choices. Guests can enjoy an array of snacks as well as a selection of open-bread sandwiches with various toppings for lunch. The restaurant also offers an extensive schnaps menu for pairing with the meal.
I had dinner at Norrlyst with my colleagues, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We started by going up the tower, which is included when you book a table. The view over Copenhagen was stunning and a great way to begin the evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful – high ceilings, marble statues, big windows, and grand staircases. It has a classic, elegant atmosphere. We had the full evening menu, and I chose the beef for the main course. It was perfectly cooked, very flavourful, and served with a generous amount of sauce in a small pot on the side, which I really appreciated. The potatoes that came with it were also excellent. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience, made even better by the impressive surroundings.

Buzzy basement restaurant. We went for dinner and had the three course menu. The beef tartare starter and red deer main were superb as was the sea buckthorn parfait dessert. There were a couple of minor missteps with the service but our waitress was so friendly we forgave her. There was a good mix of locals & tourists.

Amazing danish dishes with a good selection of wines. We had the charcuterie, the beef tartar, the pan fried Hake and the vol au vent. Everything was special and delicious. Excellent service. The restaurant is quite small and was quite warm inside. This might be nice in another time of year but for summer was a bit uncomfortable.

Delicious food with tatar and hake dishes topping. The intermediate course was delicious and different. I have expected more from desert. We had some misunderstanding with the service regarding wines, else they were awesome. Worth visit. Again received recommendation from Michelin (2025)

I’ve had really phenomenal food in Copenhagen but this just was not it. 2 out of 4 of my courses were practically inedible. If I was older, or in a Karen mood, I would have sent them back. I didn’t even know this place had a star until we showed up, but I’m not sure how?? The wine was good, services was good. Was nearly pitch black in the bathrooms and they were sort of unkempt. Anyway, the scallop soup was nasty - imagine it sitting in someone’s uber delivery bag for 3 hours.. lukewarm, not sure if I should really eat this. And the dessert sorbet thing was totally frozen. Didn’t thaw and felt embarrassed to attempt using a knife to eat. Disappointing for the price.

Perfect for lunch! Tell your friends! A proper Danish Smørrebrød experience that you can treat your friends with when they visit!
Ian C — Google review
First of all, it's not a Michelin star restaurant as others say, it's a cafe from Michelin guide, this place doesn't have any distinction. You can not really get into this place without reservation which is disturbing for a casual lunch spot serving smorrebrod and nothing special really, and food and service is not really worth it. I liked their sister cafe down the road more.
Madina K — Google review
Highly recommend Norrlyst if you are visiting Copenhagen! Every dish I tried had a nice balance and flavor. The acidity in the dishes was perfectly executed, adding brightness without overpowering. The fish and scallop were cooked to perfection. The seasoning throughout the meal was spot on as well Beyond the food, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal. The attention to detail in the dishes impressive.

Nestled in the vibrant Guldbergsgade area of Nørrebro, BRUS is a trendy brewpub that beautifully marries industrial charm with modern aesthetics. Housed in a repurposed factory, this stylish venue boasts an inviting interior adorned with natural oak and sleek metals. One of my favourite bars in Copenhagen. I love the selection of beers and how the waiters are always willing to help you choose or give you some to try. I also tried the smash burger, which was just okay, but the fries and padrón peppers were amazing. The prices are slightly high, but the atmosphere is really cool.

It is so sad and too bad - because the place, the area is so cool but when the people working there seems more interested in their friends hanging in the bar and talking to them instead of giving a paying guest waiting to order any attention - that is just unprofessional and if I was a manager I’d correct that. Also - no smiles from anyone - they looked really bored at work.

Restaurant
JATAK is a highly sought-after restaurant in Copenhagen that quickly earned a Michelin star after its opening in early 2022. Chef Jonathan Tam showcases his culinary expertise by infusing top-quality, seasonal Danish ingredients with a captivating Cantonese and Japanese twist. The ever-changing tasting menu highlights one main element per course, featuring intense flavors such as umami-rich mushroom broth and shoyu-brushed raw scallops.
This was just outrageously good. Though the flavours were totally unique, it really felt like eating at a Cantonese restaurant, where everything was delicate and showcased the ingredients used in a really considered way. A highlight was the rabbit dish, which involved an immense amount of labour but the outcome was a deceptively simple dish that delivered on all the best parts of eating a rabbit and none of the bad. The hindsholm pork broth + char siu, Norwegian scallop and Fjord shrimp were also highlights among a meal that really didn’t miss on any dish. Not to mention that the service was super personable, engaged and worked hard to enhance our time there. This was easily a top 3 meal we’ve had in Europe and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back, knowing that their seasonal approach would probably deliver an exceptional but entirely different experience next time.
Callum L — Google review
I had an absolutely lovely dinner at Jatak. It only loses a star for being overpriced for sure, especially compared to my dinner the following night at Høst. Don’t be confused, it was a great meal and my seat at the counter was fascinating. If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Copenhagen that has some availability, check this place out! I got duped into ordering the juice pairing, which was actually pretty good. I was there for the Solar Menu and my favorite course was probably the Wagyu heart. Although the surprise Madeline’s that finished the meal were delicious as well! Thank you for a lovely evening

Really fun and cool experience, such a sleek and vibrant restaurant with excellent service. We loved certain parts of the menu but overall was a great meal. Our favorites were the lobster croquette and the buckwheat noodles in tomato juice with chili oil and served with fresh tomatoes with beef heart wagyu, just something we had never had before and was delicious combo of flavors. A little expensive but a fun experience nonetheless.

We truly enjoyed our diner at Jatak, seating at the bar and enjoying seeing the action. I particularly loved the Asian/ Cantonese flavour. The tiny shade is what seemed like little conflict between some of the cooking staff.. open kitchen means we can hear and pick up on everything. But nevertheless a wonderful diner. Thank you

Visited in October 2025. We had the 10 course.solar menu with the 7 glass non-alcoholic pairing. Both the food and the drinks were generally interesting, although some dishes were better than others. The lion's mane mushroom and the main course were delicious, and the mille crepe was very good. The other dishes had good quality ingredients and were prepared with care, but their taste and/or texture didn't fully convince me. From the juices, the Muri and the apple-based juice were my least favourite, but I liked the other ones very much. I also liked the service, which was friendly and professional, but also more relaxed than in other Michelin-starred places I've tried. The staff seemed knowledgeable and gave a good impression. I liked the restaurant as well, it was nice to see what's happening in the kitchen, and the noise level was reasonable. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and appreciated the experience, even though the food was a bit hit and miss.

Loved! Jatak owner Jonathan Tam, if you’re sitting at the counter, can be seen with the Jatak team preparing the dishes. I would have said hello but didnt want to impose plus they were all hard at work and attentive preparing. Food and Jatak team are both wonderful! I did the solar menu. Food is amazing — flavorful, presentation beautiful. My (Chinese) parents are upset I liked Jatak’s char siu more than theirs. The mix of Danish and Chinese-infused dishes were great. The team was very thoughtful. Although I didn’t mention it, when they found out it I was there for a birthday trip, the whole team — including Tam — quickly snuck in a few understated birthday gestures, which I very much appreciated. Also great for solo diners. Easygoing, bright, friendly vibes all around.

We came to Jatak to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday, and I cannot praise the experience highly enough. Every element was flawless from start to finish. The wine and food quite literally blew us away, each course a perfect balance of creativity, precision, and flavour. Every member of the team we encountered was warm, genuine, and clearly passionate about what they do. The head chef and the entire team at Jatak have created something truly exceptional — an experience that goes far beyond a meal. Thank you for giving us a night we will remember for the rest of our lives.

Restaurant Aure is a surprising find in Denmark, located in an 18th-century gunpowder store. The restaurant offers a laid-back interior that allows the incredible produce and thoughtful flavor combinations to shine with each course. Guests can expect fantastic food and wine, creative dishes with top-quality ingredients, and excellent service. The space between tables provides a comfortable dining experience with tasteful decor and nice acoustics.
Food and service was amazing. The staff were truly so so nice and attentive. The chef comes over and talks to the tables as well. Would highly recommend. Most of the dishes were so good! What an experience! The service and food were top notch! I am not the biggest fish fan but this meal changed my opinion 100%. Such delicate and beautifully intentional dishes. Fiona was superb and very patient with us and our questions.

Aure is one of the newest Michelin star dining destinations in Copenhagen and absolutely worth it. The food highlights fresh local ingredients, the dishes aren't too busy/crowded, but packed with gentle flavours. The baby leek dish was the biggest testament to this philosophy - and probably my favourite of the whole 12+ course menu. Wine pairing was executed flawlessly, consisting mostly white wines. I'm very curious to see where they'll be in a couple of years, and I'm excited to come back.

We visited in February 2025 with high expectations as it was one of the newest Michelin ⭐️ restaurants in Copenhagen. Truth be told neither the chef nor the restaurant meet our expectations and we will not recommend it to the “foodies of the world” It kind of went wrong for them from the get-go! We had booked a 6pm seating and when we arrived at 5:50pm the front door was locked and several other guests were standing outside in the cold wondering if they were at the right place! At exactly 6pm the front door was finally unlocked and we were graciously let in to a very disorganized coat check! The restaurant was 70% empty and they had still not managed to honor our seating request communicated in advance. Only once we insisted did the requested seating take place. The menu was all over the place and had no point of view and there were so many competing flavors that we simply lost interest. We will not be back and we will not be giving out recommendations - sorry - next!
Peter H — Google review
Aure is dishing out 3* service, 2*+ food, at 1* prices, all while being open for less than two years. One of the most memorable 1* experiences of my life. Let’s start with food. This restaurant does such good exploration of flavor. When I ate their langoustine it felt like I was eating it for the first time. Their melon dessert tasted more like a melon than just eating a straight melon. The respect of the ingredients is inspiring, to say the least. The use of fresh herbs, flowers, etc made some dishes evolve with each chew — as you bite into an edible flower or leaf, punchy herbaceous flavors explode in your mouth. Or you bit into a small piece of pickled daikon, providing an exciting sweet-sour splash on a super savory bite. Seriously, I can hardly pick a favorite dish. And the service? This meets or exceeds every single 3* I have been to. Singlethread, Alinea, Per Se, you name it. Every single person I spoke to was warm, welcoming, friendly, funny, informative, curious, and all in all kind hosts. The music choice? Amazing. Wines? Incredible representation of French terroir. I could keep going on but I think I’d stay here writing forever. If I had to give this place any critiques, it would have to be against a standard that even the best restaurants in the world would have trouble consistently hitting. Visit while you can still get a reservation — Nicky and Emma are gunning for excellence in a city full of it, and they’re not just succeeding, they’re exceeding.

The bar is housed in an old townhouse from 1740 and offers classic and creative modern cocktails. With its rich history and luxurious house party atmosphere, Ruby provides one of the best drink experiences in Denmark.
Ruby is one of those places you almost miss if you don’t know it’s there—and that’s part of the charm. Hidden behind an unassuming door in a beautiful old townhouse near the canal, it feels more like walking into someone’s stylish living room than a cocktail bar. The vibe is relaxed but refined. Low lighting, comfy sofas, and a mix of locals and travelers create an atmosphere that’s both cozy and a little bit luxurious. It’s not flashy or loud—it’s the kind of place where conversations flow as smoothly as the drinks. Speaking of drinks, the cocktails here are next level. The menu changes with the seasons, and you can tell the bartenders put real thought into every detail. But what’s really great is how approachable the staff are. They’ll happily guide you through the menu or just ask what you like and whip something up that hits the spot. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but it never feels overpriced. You’re paying for quality, atmosphere, and a genuinely good experience. Bottom line: Ruby isn’t just a bar—it’s a place you want to stay a while. Perfect for a date, a quiet drink with friends, or just treating yourself to something special. If you’re in Copenhagen and into great cocktails, this is one of those spots that absolutely lives up to the hype.

After moving to Copenhagen, I’ve been exploring different places in the city, and Ruby Bar has quickly become one of my favourites. The vibe here is just perfect – classy, comfortable, and not too loud. It’s a great place to unwind after work or to take friends when they’re visiting. Their cocktails are top-notch – very creative and well-balanced. You can really tell that the bartenders know what they’re doing. They also suggest drinks based on your mood or taste, which I really liked. The location is central, but the entrance is quite subtle, almost like a secret spot. But once you step inside, it feels warm and welcoming. It’s slightly on the pricier side, but for the quality of drinks and experience, I feel it’s totally justified. Highly recommended if you enjoy good cocktails in a classy setting!

Outstanding cocktail experience! The “doorman” was very friendly, welcoming us to the cocktail bar minutes before last call. We chose to sit by the bar to watch how each cocktail was made. I’d also recommend checking out the rest of the bar for the decor. My favorite drink was the Risalamande (clarified), but honestly, you can’t go wrong with the choices here.

We had drinks from the menu and a couple drinks that we knew with different recommend spins on the original recipes and all were fantastically executed. The bar staff were really friendly and skilled at their craft of mixology. Highly recommend this place if you like delicious well crafted cocktail’s

Ruby is a fantastic date-friendly cocktail bar in Copenhagen, offering a cozy, rustic atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a stylish Scandinavian apartment. We were seated by the window with a beautiful view, which added to the charm of the evening. The living-room-style seating makes it feel more like visiting a friend’s home than a bar, and the staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. The cocktail menu leans toward creative, modern options rather than classics, but everything we tried was expertly made—and I have no doubt the bartenders could mix up any classic if asked. Drinks are on the pricier side, but the quality and ambiance make it worth it. Given its popularity, I’d definitely recommend booking in advance.

Nice cocktails. Friendly staff. Nice location Why do all the cocktail joints in Copenhagen have mostly pre- batched cocktails? They use other spirits instead of fresh citrus… Not used to that

This is by far the best cafe that has served me the best cardamom bun ever. Located in the heart of the city, this place is cute and elegant. Has amazing coffee as well. The bun was outstanding and left me wanting more. Nice and quiet place to sit and relax while reading a book or working on something on the laptop. Would 😁 recommend to anyone who's around the city centre during the day.

Surprisingly nice environment to enjoy a coffee. The coffee was not as good as your would expect given the high Google rating. Likely the visual effect of the floral decorations in the inner courtyard of the building is what won people over and also made the cafe visit unique.

Amazing coffee & lovely inner yard, tucked away from the busy shopping street. Some feedback on the sourdough bun though - extremely scarce on the cheese, almost non-existent. The slice is so light that you barely see it 😅 Hopefully an isolated issue. Still highly recommended for the coffee quality.

This place is buzzing!! We grabbed a flat white, latte, and some croissants and everything was really good! The coffee had that smooth, nutty-chocolaty vibe, and the croissants were buttery and fresh. Also loved the little courtyard out back — super lovely spot to sit if you can snag a table. Great stop for coffee lovers!

We have seen a very positive reviews of Coffee Collective, so when we arrived in Copenhagen, this was one of the first destination for us. Shop looks really good and is located in the centre of Copenhagen. It has many seats inside and outside. It can be really busy and we were waiting for our latte around 15 minutes. Based on the reviews and hype, I was expecting something more. Coffee is OK/average but nothing above that really.

Very busy, but friendly staff. My pour over was not as good as I had expectated (it might have taken longer than needed as the baristas were multi-tasking). But I know their beans are very, very good (previous purchase)! Must visit if you are into specialty coffees!

Stopped by The Coffee Collective at Bernikow and had an amazing tea experience — calm, refined, and full of Scandinavian charm. Even though the café is known for its coffee, the tea was exceptional — beautifully brewed and served with care. The space itself is bright and minimalist, creating the perfect environment to slow down and enjoy a quiet moment. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, happy to talk about their drinks and make thoughtful recommendations. Whether you come for coffee or tea, The Coffee Collective – Bernikow captures what makes Copenhagen’s café culture so special: quality, simplicity, and warmth. A perfect stop for anyone who appreciates great taste and a peaceful atmosphere.

Diamond Slice is a popular pizza spot in Copenhagen, located on Blagards Plads in Norrebro. The joint offers New York-style pizza with a Danish twist, created by culinary experts Jan Kopacz, Kristopher Schram and Alex Dadzis. Customers can enjoy their enormous slices with unique toppings like hot honey or whipped ricotta at the takeaway window or outdoor seating area. The establishment has received praise for its quality crust and delicious flavors, making it a must-visit for pizza enthusiasts.
Really good new york style pizza! The slices are big so typically 1-2 should be enough per person. I especially recommend hot honey with ricotta. Unique and delicious! We also tried the cookie and it was amazing, it tastes like Christmas. We were lucky to get a table on weekday evening but the place got crowded quickly. The bathroom was very dirty. Also, a good price for CPH. Highly recommend!

Great pizza. Ordered by the slice. Small menu but nice options. Quick service and the beer was good! Top choice.

We were really excited to try this place. The tables were on a nice location and the person behind the counter was very polite. We ordered a slice of Surf n Turf and a Hot honey. Unfortunately, I was not a big fan of the Hot Honey. It was a bit too sweet than I expected and the cheese has a peculiar taste that I did not enjoy personally. This might be my personal preference however. The surf n turf was good.

If you're looking for a unique drinking experience, Bird is the place to be! This minimalist Japandi bar boasts an impressive vinyl collection that sets the perfect backdrop for your evening. Their signature drink, the Bonfire Manhattan, combines whisky, mezcal, and coffee bean vermouth for a fiery twist on a classic cocktail. The ambiance is inviting and relaxing, with booths designed for comfort and music played directly from vinyl records curated by the bartenders.
Go there for your ultimate drink and sound experience! Amazing speakers will blow your mind, upon entering the space. Once you sit, the drinks will do the rest. Great concept with superb staff. Fine interior, build with passion and adapted to the precise needs.

Great cocktail bar, amazing and unique flavor profile and not overly sugary. Classy presentation Bartender was super nice and attentive for being the only one serving and making drinks. Great and unique cocktail bar with minimalistic look, which works very well with the ambiance. The staff was very nice and had great knowledge about the drinks and the music. We took 2 cocktails each and we recommend the pineapple bubbles ! The only thing is that it’s a bit pricey knowing that all the cocktails are already made/ bottled and not made like a real cocktail bar. Would definitely come back though 🍸🎷🪩🌃

Organic restaurant
Restaurant Radio is a Nordic restaurant located in 2011 near the old broadcasting house and city lakes in Copenhagen. The establishment offers organic and Nordic cuisine, with ingredients sourced from organically cultivated fields just outside the city, as well as from local hunters and fishermen. The menu features over 80 different crops and emphasizes plant-based produce. The restaurant is known for its reasonably priced meals and beautiful plants, creating a delightful dining experience in Copenhagen.
Restaurant Radio delivered an unforgettable December menu that took us on a journey from the very first taste of the tasting menu to the final bite. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, with every flavour and texture perfectly balanced—truly nothing was left out. The wine pairing was spot-on, enhancing every course, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. If you’re looking for a top-tier culinary experience in Copenhagen, Restaurant Radio is the place to go!

We had the five course dinner menu. Food was really good, wine too. But almost everything had a sauce, so that one can not tell if the main ingredient was cooked to perfection and was really fresh. Friendly and great atmosphere.
Marina X — Google review
Our group opted for the 3-course and 5-course menus. The food was beautifully crafted! While the baked cabbage didn’t impress us, the rest of the dishes were truly amazing!
Tania G — Google review
Update 13/05: I have not received any response on the email I had send on April 25th, as per instruction in the reply of this review. -------------‐----------------------------------------------------- Based on the many positive reviews, we were genuinely excited for our evening at Restaurant Radio. The idea of enjoying modern Danish cuisine really appealed to us—especially since Nordic cuisine isn’t something you come across every day (even in Copenhagen, funnily enough). Upon arrival, we were greeted politely and asked to walk to the back to hang up our coats ourselves. Right away, we noticed an odd smell lingering in the restaurant. We suspected it was coming from the bathroom, even though we were seated across the room from the door, which had been left open. After closing it ourselves, the smell improved slightly but returned every time someone went to the bathroom. As for the food—unfortunately, this is where our disappointment truly began. We opted for the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings, hoping for a memorable dining experience. Based on the photos we’d seen online, our expectations were high. Sadly, the food didn’t live up to the visuals. Course 1: Tomatoes in a shrimp sauce with some crunchy elements that turned out to be shrimp scales. While the flavor was okay, we were confused by the absence of actual shrimp. We were told the scales were intentional and meant to add texture, but we found them unpleasant (and sharp…). Course 2: Potato. This dish was fine with an acceptable balance of textures and flavors, though nothing particularly special. It was an improvement over the first course, and for a moment, we thought the initial dish might have just been a misstep. Course 3: Halibut. Visually impressive but overwhelmingly salty. While we’re no strangers to seasoning, this was excessive. The fish itself was good and the grilled elements added nice depth, but the large chunks of spring onion were difficult to cut, forcing you to eat them whole. The wine pairing helped cut the saltiness slightly but wasn’t enough to redeem the dish. Main course: A celeriac “steak” served with just a few berries. The texture was pleasant, but overall it felt more like a side dish than a main—lacking both substance and balance. Dessert: Apple compote. Decent, but nothing memorable or particularly exciting. Unfortunately, the wine pairings were also underwhelming. Not only did they fail to complement the dishes, but they also weren’t particularly enjoyable on their own. AND to top off, they refilled our half full waterbottle without asking and charged another 35kr for this and we ended up with another half full bottle. All in all, we left feeling disappointed with the overall experience. With mostly glowing reviews and an intriguing concept, we had hoped for so much more. Sadly, it just didn’t live up to the hype, and we felt compelled to share our honest experience.
Vincent P — Google review
If you’re looking for a place with hospitality and flexibility - avoid this place. Very rude manager of the restaurant. We politely asked if we could bring along our small (6kg) dog - they didn’t reply to our email request. When we showed up, assuming that this wouldn’t be an issue, they told us they are too busy to respond to all the emails and requests they receive. And they denied access. When we asked for the rationale, they first said it would be against the Danish law to bring dogs to restaurants. This is clearly not true. Then they admitted it’s their own policy that dogs are not allowed at their place. So we asked to get a place in a corner of the restaurant. Their response: no exception to the rule. And we were asked to immediately leave the restaurant. Interesting approach, to say the least.
Broder D — Google review
Lovely restaurant, the place is simple but hygge, the service is great (funny people) and the kitchen delicious. Over the 5 courses menu from December, we were pleased with flavorful starters. I loved the potatoes and their bread fresh from the oven, the details and attention really make the difference. I must also mention the dessert with that mushroom ice-cream. Not everyone at the table liked it, but I did. I loved discovering new combinations of flavors. They know what they're doing and we taste it! I definitely recommend it, for the price it's a great experience! Only negative point was the door to the wardrobe. When it is not closed, the tables near that door get the smell from the toilet/pipes which wasn't appreciated. Maybe it is an issue that occurred only that day and is not recurrent.
Lwheee — Google review
Nice environment, good food and very attentive service. The whole dinner was a very pleasant experience. Local and seasonal products are used on the menu and it was asparagus time. Personally I thought it was a bit too much use of asparagus with 3 out of 7 dishes being asparagus focus but I must admit that all of them had something distinct and different so it was also nice to get different ways of enjoying a product. The mackerel was a bit dry for our taste but all other dishes were super good. The freshly baked bread to enjoy with a potato soup and butter was fun and delicious. I really recommend going and getting the full 7 course menu if you do.
Henar L — Google review
Our dinner at Radio was a memorable one. The decor is very intimate and ambient. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed hearing the influences behind each dish. The chef came out and brought out a dish near the end of our experience which was a nice touch. The dinner itself was absolutely delicious. We ended up liking dishes with ingredients that we normally don't favor the best in the end which was surprising (leek dish). We tried a few different wines (not commonly found in the US) throughout our meal including an orange wine. All in all, this meal and experience was worth every penny. We hope to dine here again in the future.

Kiin Kiin is a contemporary Thai fusion restaurant located in Norrebro, Copenhagen. Co-founded by legendary Danish chef Henrik Yde Andersen and Lertchai Treetawatchaiwong, the restaurant offers a unique take on traditional Thai cuisine. With a relaxed atmosphere featuring rattan chairs and wooden floors, Kiin Kiin provides an oriental dining experience starting with snacks in the lounge accompanied by wine or beer before enjoying a seven or eight-course meal at the table.
Incredible fine dining experience! Each dish was an explosion of flavour, resonant in the language of Thai cuisine. Almost everything was perfect but the music was a bit cheesy, almost muzak-esque. Might be nicer if they used some modern Thai jazz or something else from that sphere (without becoming a parody of itself)
Simon D — Google review
I love Thai food. Have eaten Thai food my whole life. Have never eaten Thai food like this. Super interesting. The table next to us even got to blowtorch their own crust. They definitely don't hold back on the spice level. Whole meal took about 3 hours start to finish. Service was friendly. Only complaint is that the pescatarian substitution for the beef being fishcake felt a bit.. cheap.. I was told it would be king prawn. Then again I did request no beef just before the meal. Would describe more but better you try it for yourself. Just Thai flavours in textures you've never tried before. While I definitely enjoyed my meal here, if I had to choose between this and my regular Thai takeout, I think I'd still go with the latter. Would recommend this as a try if you want Thai food but different.
Aeron E — Google review
One of the few Thai restaurants with a Michelin star. It’s a blend of traditional and some fusion mix of Thai food. We had the 6 course menu. The concept starts with a mix of snacks while you are in the main lobby of the restaurant and then you are ushered to the main dining room for the 6 course menu. The menu includes a soup, some sea food dishes and ends up with a meat dish followed by a dessert. The service is good / and attentive and expected for a Michelin star restaurant. The wines choices are good too and they have Riesling to start / followed by wine pairings if Chardonnay / Rose wine and Red Italian wine with the main meat dish. There is some innovation/ some dishes are delicious and overall the experience is a good one. It’s also decent and reasonably priced as compared to other various Michelin starred restaurants in Copenhagen/ or any other big European metropolis. Soup to begin with was delicious, one of the salmon and caviar dish was excellent and so was the meat with rice as a final main course. I would say overall worth a visit especially if you want a break from Nordic cuisines and want something spicy and Asian. Wine pairing is decent and if you don’t mind the additional cost then I would recommend. Meal for 2 is easily 400 euros without wine pairings. Verdict 4/5
Sushant T — Google review
A relic of Michelin days past. A decade or two ago, this was likely a ground breaking experience in light handed fusion of Royal Thai cuisine in a French haute cuisine format, but times and trends have moved on, and Kiin Kiin has not evolved or kept pace with what’s available on the international scene in its class of restaurant at this price point. I can see how this must have burst onto the scene so long ago, because the concept is interesting; the 6 amuse bouche/ snacks to start the meal are innovative in their mix of traditional flavours, spice, heat and textures and were one of the highlights. But as the meal progressed some of the table side theatrics just began to feel unnecessary and almost detracted from the actual quality of the cooking. Asian diners familiar with fine dining or the Michelin and even non Michelin accredited establishments in South East Asia will likely be disappointed here because the flavours are familiar but not elevated enough for them to appreciate. That said, anyone who is less familiar or just craving a light haute cuisine Asian experience for date night or a special occasion will enjoy the evening. The environment and decor is a little dated and lacks the refinement and sophistication of other establishments at this price point. But it’s still comfortable and… maybe a little too warm. The AC here is stuffy so try to be seated near a window so you can personally modulate the draft from the window yourself. The aromatic crab curry with home made rice noodle was a highlight. The curry is delicate enough to be turned into an espuma which highlights the delicate flavour and aromatics. Many of the other dishes felt very heavy handed in salt and acid and lacked the sophistication and execution of this dish. And like I said before, some of the fussiness took away from the actual good cooking of the kitchen. Not so in this dish. Service was pleasant and the establishment is run by a mostly Asian crew predominantly Thai in ethnicity to give it that exotic feeling. They seem to enjoy entertaining you and helped to make the night more of an experience.

Not a Michelin star imho. The starters on the main floor were the best. Service, flavors, atmosphere. Upstairs for the rest was tediously long… too much time between courses. Service was not good at all. Courses were trying too hard . Way too much fuss, and not enough good food. Oh, and my wine pairing with each course came late . Spend your money elsewhere. Ps- the book by the chef(?) saved the day -on each table to read while you wait, I guess . Very good .

Almanak, situated in the Operaen building in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a part of the renowned Meyers Culinary Academy. The restaurant is known for its emphasis on utilizing local, seasonal ingredients and sustainable cooking practices. Headed by award-winning chef Jesper Koch, Almanak offers an innovative and contemporary take on Nordic cuisine. With exceptional views over Copenhagen harbor and the city, it provides a stylish dining experience with warm and friendly service.
A long overdue review for a place that left Lasting Impression of Danish Cuisine. Even after years have passed, my memory of dining at Almanak in Copenhagen is as vivid as ever. My culinary journey through Northern Europe led me to this stunning restaurant, and I was immediately struck by its elegant design and well-thought-out decor. From the meticulous table settings to the beautifully curated menu, every detail was perfect. The service was impeccable and a true highlight of the evening. The staff's ability to not only deliver each dish but also to passionately explain its preparation and ingredients added a layer of depth to the experience. Their positive energy and knowledge made the meal even more memorable. I opted for the three-course menu, which was a masterpiece of Danish flavours. The salt and sugar cured pike perch with beans and rapeseed oil was fresh and delicate. The main course, organic chicken with brown butter, carrot and elderflower, was a comforting and sophisticated dish. The dessert—black currant, salt caramel malt, and tarragon—was so incredible that it seemed to disappear the moment it was placed in front of me. The food was absolutely delicious, and I still commend the chefs for their masterful presentation of classic Danish cuisine. Even tho I missed a visit on my current trip, I am eagerly looking forward to returning to Almanak in the coming months, confident that the quality and integrity of their food remain just as exceptional as I remember.

Dinned before a show - conveniently connected with the opera and with a stunning view of Copenhagen. Efficient delivery of servings. Friendly and attentive staff, but not professional waiters, so a few mistakes, but nothing that ruined the experience. Good balance in price to quality, the food alone will not make it a destination restaurant for us.

We went for the Christmas feast menu and had a wonderful time. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was carefully prepared and presented with interesting twists on Danish traditions which were all attentively curated. We loved the kale salad, egg salad, and duck especially and went home very full and happy.

Great view and atmosphere which gives "Windows of the World" vibes, with fantastic scenery overlooking all of Copenhagen. Sadly, I can't give it a better review, as the service experience was mixed. One of the waitresses, by the name of Michelle, refused to let me see the menu beforehand and I have intolerances. I wasn't even infomed there were other courses beyond 3, since she originally told me that's all they have... but her coworkers stated otherwise. The other waitresses and waiters were wonderful and very accommodating. They tried to ask her (I assume, she's a supervisor of some kind since the others had to ask her, unfortunately) if any seafood, and she came back seemingly frustrated that I was asking if any fish or seafood was on the menu since I have an intolerance and her coworkers didn't seem too sure. The food was fine but it is table d'hôte, so the whole menu is given based on the courses amount you choose. Seems to go up to 5 but never got a clear answer on that. I walked in with a Valentino bag and a Versace dress, easily one of the most formally dressed there, so I hope she wasn't profiling me in some way.

Visited during ‘Dinner Week’ and enjoyed 10 course menu. The dishes were flavorful, nicely presented and well rounded. The unlikely winner was mustard and ham toast that was beyond delicious. The waffle with butter and cheese needs some uplifting as butter takes over. The staff was excellent and put an effort to explain (and find proper English words) for all ingredients.

I came here with my parents and husband before the Opera Peter Grimes. They weren’t sure we would have a table but luckily we managed to get one. The dinner was a 3 course meal using the seasonal vegetables. It’s was asparagus seasons and everything was delicious. The view is very beautiful but unfortunately they are having lots of construction. The waiter said the they are building a new parking lot and a green area. I’ve heard that this might be one of the biggest operas in the world and the restaurant is a must! The main dish was deer and I am pescatarian and they will very accommodating and they served me Halibut. It was very good! I would definitely come back again!

Relae is a renowned restaurant in Copenhagen, known for its inventive 4 and 7-course menus served in a smart, minimal space. The city has been a culinary hotspot for over a decade, with restaurants like Noma and Relae defining New Nordic cuisine. Torvehallerne, a must-visit destination for foodies, offers fresh produce, pour-over coffee purveyors, modern baked goods, craft beer, and more.
Beautiful restaurant serving beautiful, locally sourced dishes. My husband and I booked seats at the counter, which was an excellent choice as we were able to watch the dishes being made in the open kitchen. We did the Relae Menu with matching wines (there's also a Relae Experience menu with additional dishes). The food was exquisite and the wine matches were perfect!

Came away feeling rather disappointed. Mostly because they missed out on a dish for us - we had to be the ones to remind them, and they didn’t apologise either. Service was not too bad other than that though. Pork was also slightly too raw, although they did accede to my request for a more cooked slice without complaints. Dishes were very creative and surprisingly tasty for what they were (mainly veg based). I went for the juice pairing - there were a couple of hits but the rest were just alright.

Not the most memorable Michelin dinner of my life, but still a good experience at a reasonable price for the quality of the ingredients, which were undeniably excellently sourced. The music was sometimes good, sometimes tragic - that made the atmosphere a bit weird at times. Overall a decent experience. I would like to try it again because I believe they are capable of more taste-wise - like in their sister restaurant Manfreds.

We sat on the table overlooking the kitchen. It proved to be an all encompassing experience including hearing the dynamics of the kitchen staff. The tasting menu (4 course) proved to be filling and gave us enough of a variety to have appreciated the freshness and overall theme the chef is trying to convey.

We had mixed feelings when we entered the restaurant after reading different reviews (1 to 5). We chose the Relae menu and could not be more pleased. The presentation and taste (albeit bland) are well thought out. The pull out utensils drawer is a fantastic idea. The servers were knowledgeable and engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Ralae earns 4.5 stars from us (5 if the music was a bit quieter). We also met Head Chef Jonathan, keep it up.

My expectation for Relae is quite high, and I have to say food here is not stunning at all. Maybe it’s okay for 1 star. But ranking as No.39 of world’s best restaurant is overrated (just my point of view). I’ve tried the 4 course menu #891. The second one is interesting, pumpkin with brown butter sauce. The pumpkin is proper cooked, tender and sweet, with a pinch of salt on top, very beautiful presented. However, the brown butter sauce is too strong, it covers the beauty taste of the pumpkin, very lack of balance. The third dish is duck breast with roasted apple and duck liver. I really enjoy the pace of taste in this dish. It leaves the liver till the end to give it a full flavor combination. This followed by a duck dumpling that is definitely the disappointment of this meal. The dumpling made from potato flour which is very sticky. The stuffing had quite some duck fat. Therefore, this dish taste super fatty and oily. It lack of a crunchy texture in my mouth. In general, I would say it’s nice to give it a try. But please lower your expectation when you decided to visit here.

After being unable to get a reservation at Noma, Relæ was suggested to me as an alternative. Keep in mind, I am definitely not the type of person to eat at Michelin-star restaurants, I love larger portions of food, but my experience at Relæ was phenomenal. I went with the “Menu” experienced prices at 475 DKK. I sat by the kitchen and was able to see all the work the chefs did. All the dishes were displayed and created with such intricacy. As I was presented with each dish, I was also given information about them. The ingredients are all organic, taking an ethical approach to all the food they cook. For one of the dishes, I was told that chefs travel to a farm every morning to collect items for that specific dish (I forgot which one this was). My favourites were the lamb dish and the dessert. The lamb was cooked to perfection – it didn’t feel like a lamb texture, it was so each to chew, and overall so pleasant to eat. The dessert was like nothing I’ve had before - it was some type of parfait with black currant, rose hip and bee pollen. The flavour was light, fruity, and unexpected. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Relæ if you’re around the beautiful city of Copenhagen. Even with the cheapest set menu, you’re bound to have a great experience.

Very good food and good wine. We had the full experience without wine pairing; we picked a nice bottle of Barolo instead. What let them down was that it was really hot inside and the service became brisk and unfriendly at the very end. I put the latter down to being very late at the end of a busy Saturday night, but still not quite ok for the establishment. Some dishes were outstanding some a bit less. Their bread is amazing.

Formel B is a European and Scandinavian restaurant located in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. It has been serving customers for nearly two decades and is known for offering an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant's menu reflects its commitment to providing high-quality pre-Christmas getaways and delicious meals. Formel B is a must-visit destination for those seeking the best restaurants in Frederiksberg, as it consistently delivers top-notch European and Scandinavian cuisine.
Every course was so special and perfectly put together - the flavours, the texture, excellent. Having dined at many Michelin starred restaurants, this one was exceptional. The only let down was the peach dessert - this one wasn’t so great for me. I would 100% come here again if I came back to Copenhagen

Wonderful all around. The space is as beautiful as the courses they serve. Every detail is thought of — brought to life by an attentive, welcoming and knowledgable team. Just an example of their top-tier service: they freshly baked gluten-free bread for me so that I had the same experience as other patrons (and it was probably the best bread I’ve had). Can’t wait to go back!
Sara A — Google review
Many Michelin star restaurants offer a prix fixe menu where you may be less than thrilled on some of the dishes you will get, but Formel B offers you to select any five dishes from the menu which contains appetizers, entrees, desserts and you can select any combination. I chose one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts while my husband had three entrees and one dessert. The entrees and desserts seemed equally sized. We both enjoyed the salted hiramase which is a creamy clean fish that came out elegantly presented in a rose shape. I got the roasted langoustine with pickled pumpkin, orange, and vadouvan followed by the Danish beef tartar with kale, pickled red currant, crispy sourdough and olive sauce. The desserts were the Blood orange with pistachio and sour cream with timut pepper and the Sea buckthorn au surprise (signature dessert that looks like a hedgehog in meringue). I highly recommend both desserts. My husband got the cheese and rye bread dessert, so we got to try all the desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes and the service from Frida and Mikkel which was perfectly timed, never rushed or waiting too long between courses and explanations were clear and at a good volume. We had one of the first tables under the window that was slightly below street level and fortunately it was not crowded or noisy. We had a wonderful, relaxing evening. After Mikkel refilled our second bottle of water after dessert, Frida let us know we had to ask for the check when we wanted it and we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted since we had the table for the night. We then had a nice discussion on Danish vs American health care, education, and safety at night. We had an incredible culinary journey with excellent service from Frida and Mikkel and would definitely return when we are in Copenhagen.

A high end restaurant that deviates from the usual tasting menu, but allows everyone select five dishes from the menu they like the most - and it will be a hard exercise, because you'll probably want to order more. Local fresh produce is in the center in all dishes; our favourites were the caviar with dehydrated tomatoes (punchy flavour packed dish) and the langoustine is a must-try course.
Ott K — Google review
5-star experience from the very start. This was our first Michelin Star restaurant my mom and I had ever been to. The service and attention to detail is like no other. We loved the food, and the wine pairing was the cherry on top. Compared to other Michelins, Formel B is an affordable 5-star meal. Everything was so fresh and high quality. The atmosphere was modern and quiet. Our absolute favorite, MUST-HAVE dish was the Sea Buckthorne for dessert! It tasted like a deluxe s’more. My other favorite would have to be the danish langoustine - wow. Thank you for having us Formel B!!

It’s a Michellin restaurant. The environment was nice and warm. The menu was different from usual Michellin Restaurant, customers can choose freely from the dishes according to individual preferences. That’s a really cool idea. The vibe was cool. Highly recommended.

Everything you could wish for. In a Danish context, a less expensive Michelin experience. And it doesn’t disappoint. Value for money (still in relative terms) and the experience of the caviar starter or the new Danish potatoes with truffles are not to be missed. Kudos to all the smiling, knowledgeable waiters/sommeliers. Thanks for having us

Aamanns Deli & Takeaway in Østerbro is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in the quintessential Danish smørrebrød. This delightful deli, recommended by Lonely Planet, serves up these iconic open-faced sandwiches on their own organic sourdough bread, topped with fresh and seasonal ingredients that truly celebrate Nordic cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home from the moment you step inside.
Amazing food! Got to try a couple of their open sandwiches and my absolute favorite was the shrimp on sourdough, which had a super tasty and flavorful sauce.
Negar O — Google review
Brilliant toasts, and a required eating for anyone visiting Copenhagen. I recommend the herring and the plaice. The herring has the right amount of pickling to cut against the nutty bread. The topping is salty and fatty to add more depth, with the greens fresh enough to round out the dish with a vegetal wrap. But the plaice is even better. A relatively thick fillet, lightly fried, with a lovely mayo on top, this I could eat a bunch of. The fish is so so good, and because of the lightness of the breading, the underlying rye bread is still the right base. Other fried fish is done on light brioche breads, but this fish is better with the nutty rye. The dressing on this is also excellent and savory. Highly, highly recommend. I will try to go back every year I'm in Copenhagen. I also recommend trying to order and eat indoors as the building provides shade from the sun, making the outdoor seating area a bit chilly. However, if you sit outdoors you don't have to go inside as you can order from QR codes. So outdoors may be better if you're impatient.

The food was exceptionally tasty! The prawn with the sourdough bread was my favourite! They do very cute takeaway boxes which is perfect for a picnic and their coffee is very good too. Very clean and cozy place.

I can recommend the herring, and perhaps other cold options. I think the plaice with shrimp salad is overpriced for what it offers. This one piece was 165 dkk (almost £20 a piece..). Basically tastes like fried fish with mayo-based sauce. Not bad but def not worth £20 even for cph prices.

One of our favourite meals in Copenhagen! The smorrebrods were super delicious and the menu was smaller which we appreciated cause it made selecting a lot easier. Everything we tried were worth it and the prices were actually not too bad compared to places we’ve tried. The space is small and don’t have a ton of tables but highly recommend!

We came at around 4pm on Sunday so the inside was not occupied at all. We came as we had watched Somebody Feed Phil and I really wanted to try the Smorebrpd. Honestly it’s sooooooo good. We had three veggie options (2 cold, one warm) and two fish options (both cold). My husband was really impressed with his fish options and also loved my veggie options. We also had the snaps tastings. We walked out really full and really happy to have tried this place and for sure, we know we can’t get better than this (each one was different, flavourful, had great texture). For sure I would revisit next time I’m back in CPH.

Got the beef tartare, just out of this world ❤️❤️❤️ Too bad I only got 1 (bcs I will have a proper dinner after, and just wanna give it a try) but defo will be back to try other ones (esp the herring one). Their sister resto got a michelin star, so I got a rly high expectation (and did not disappoint) One of the best dishes I have in Copenhagen

Run, don’t walk to eat the most delicious smørrebrøds ! I discovered this gem last year thanks to the Copenhagen episode of Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix and I knew I had to go back when I visited again a few weeks ago. This time, I had to go back twice as I absolutely fell in love with the beef tartar, rhubarb compote and cream cheese mousse smørrebrød! 11/10, no notes! I also tried the curried herring (deliciousssss), the roast beef (yummy) and the butter-fried plaice and shrimp salad. Always a great meal for each of my 3 visits and I will undeniably be back next time I’m in Copenhagen. Highly recommend.

Marchal, located in Copenhagen's Hotel d'Angleterre, is a Michelin-starred restaurant with a rich history dating back to 1755. The culinary love story of Jean Marchal and Maria Coppy has evolved into a luxurious dining experience under the helm of Austrian Head Chef Christian Gadient. Combining Nordic and French influences, the menu offers an array of fresh seafood, Danish produce, and an impressive Champagne selection.
If only every fine dining establishment could learn from Marchal. The chef spoke with me personally to help me choose the best dishes based on my dietary restrictions and appetite. The carrot appetizer was spectacular and scrumptious. The turbot entrée was delicate and perfect. I was surprised with a fabulous dairy free dessert. In addition, I was delighted by the fresh mini loaf of sourdough and the excellent olive oil from Spain. The staff were friendly, helpful, patient, professional. If you have a chance to have a fabulous dinner in Copenhagen, be sure to dine at Marchal!

Visiting a Michelin-starred restaurant comes with certain expectations, particularly regarding service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this establishment fell short in multiple areas. While the 6 course tasting menu was pleasant but far from exceptional, it failed to stand out compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve dined at, particularly in London. The execution was solid, but it lacked the ‘wow’ factor that distinguishes truly outstanding fine dining. Service was inconsistent. Simon, our main waiter, was exceptional and truly elevated the experience. However, the rest of the staff felt unenthusiastic, grumpy, and unwelcoming, which significantly impacted the atmosphere. Certain service elements were lacking, such as failing to remove crumbs before serving dessert and *not properly folding the napkin when stepping away from the table, both of which are standard expectations in refined dining. Additionally, the table initially offered was next to the open kitchen, which posed an issue. The ventilation was inadequate, leaving diners at risk of walking out smelling like barbecue… an oversight that could easily be corrected with proper extraction systems. Fortunately, we opted for a window-side table, which provided a much more enjoyable setting and a lovely view over the square. Overall, the experience was average, not memorable and if not for Simon’s outstanding service, it would have been a thorough disappointment. Michelin recognition should come with a standard of excellence not just in food, but in ambiance and service.

We went to celebrate our anniversary in Marchal. Frankly, we were expecting a bit more. Service was excellent and the restaurant is located in a beautiful location, at Kongens Nytorv. The food was beautifully presented in a very precise French style with Danish ingredients, and was very good, but not excellent. However, price was reasonable for a 1-star Michelin restaurant.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner here. My husband had made the reservations several months in advance as we knew we would be in Copenhagen for our anniversary. The restaurant Marchal is located in the historic Hotel D’Angleterre in the city center. The building is gorgeous both inside and out with a fascinating history. The restaurant is quite elegant and people were dressed accordingly. We had a wonderful server who started us with champagne and worked us through the menu with recommendations and answering questions. The restaurant is highly French influenced and the dishes reflected this. Fish, shellfish and caviar figured heavily into our selections, though they are highly known for their duck and other dishes as well. We chose the Danish Turbo fish, that was in season, as our main and it did not disappoint! The fish was mild and perfect and the sauce incredible. Our appetizer choices included salmon cones with caviar and lobster knuckles. For desert, we chose the traditional Crepes Suzette which was prepared table side. It was wonderful with the vanilla ice cream. Our server was wonderful and we enjoyed speaking with her about the food and local ingredients used. She was very warm and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful experience.

Recommendations: -Starters: 🥟Raviole of Langoustine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fresh ingredients yet too salty. 🦞Blue lobster with marinated tomato ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing taste but the portion of tomato could be bigger. -Main Course: 🐔Poulet Au Vin Jaune ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not creative but still very tasty. 🐟Poached cod ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The garnish and the sauce are just perfect! 🫎Venison Pithivier ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The best of all!! Deluxe version of beef Wellington, a must try. As an art of the table, the dish was partitioned beside the table for the guests. -Dessert 🫐Blueberry and buckwheat ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not too sweet it’s my highest compliment.

You don’t go to Michelin star restaurant for bread - but this brioche was best bread in my life😀 The duck they cook in front of you was exceptional, prepared in front of us and finished with a rich sauce made from the duck’s blood pressed in a traditional way. Staff were nice and attentive. In the end of the night a guestbook was given to us with notes from people who dined here before, it’s an amazing idea as I’m looking forward to come back one day and find message I’ve written 🤭 That was a truly memorable Michelin star experience.

Found our way to the Michelin starred Marchal restaurant. Service was excellent. Food great although smaller portions which is expected of a Michelin restaurant where it’s more about the quality, presentation and taste. Always a pleasure being served correctly and our questions answered
Glyn S — Google review
Long story short: this experience fell well short of what one would expect from a Michelin-star restaurant. First misstep: the service lacked coordination. We ordered white wine with the appetizers and red with the mains, yet the red wine was decanted and poured long before the white even arrived. The situation was awkward and easily avoidable. To their credit, the waiter did apologize and made an effort to correct the mistake, but the lapse in communication set the tone for the evening. The foie gras canapé was disappointing - served too cold, with a “crust” that tasted like plain white bread. Rather than enhancing the foie gras, it dulled it. The sourdough bread was serviceable but unremarkable - dense, and lacking the refinement and lightness expected at this level. My blue lobster appetizer was the most concerning. The intestine tract was still intact in the tail - a basic oversight that simply shouldn’t happen in a Michelin-star kitchen. When I mentioned it to the waiter, the kitchen’s response was that there “might be some tender parts” and that they “could not identify what it was.” That explanation felt dismissive and unprofessional. The dish was removed from the bill, but the handling of the issue fell below Michelin standards. To be fair, the lobster itself tasted quite good. Still, these early missteps - especially in service and attention to detail - undermined the experience before the meal had a chance to recover. The rest of the dinner, including the venison main and crêpe Suzette dessert, was well-executed and pleasant, but by then the impression had already been shaped. Overall, the atmosphere didn’t help redeem the evening. The dining room felt sterile - no music, little warmth, and a formality that bordered on uncomfortable. Service, while polite, lacked genuine hospitality; it felt procedural rather than personal. At this level, one expects a sense of ease and flow, but here the mood was cold and stiff, leaving the impression of a place more focused on maintaining appearances than on creating an enjoyable dining experience. I’ve dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants, and while not every meal must be flawless, there’s a certain grace and attentiveness that defines the best of them. Unfortunately, this one missed that mark in both execution and atmosphere.

The airy and minimalist urban warehouse setting features colorful street art on the walls. "Amass" destination in for gastronomic experience. Food and service are outstanding! Look for Vilma. She was our server and she's super sweet and attentive. Would love to go back to this place again. Not good for kids and not so adventurous eaters. Super talented chef and his team. They all help each other and such a beautiful thing to watch how the chef orchestrated the whole thing. They have their own organic garden and uses the freshest ingredients. They don't have a full bar. Enjoy the fine wine or crafted beer

First must, start the evening with the Amass gin & tonic. Best we’d ever had. Second, splurge on the wine pairing, nearly as important and exciting as each dish and really rounds out the experience. Staff are amazing, knowledgeable and are as much about the experience as the food. Enjoy!

Came on a weekday evening. Cool concrete walls covered in graffiti (which I was told changes every year). Big glass windows opposite the open kitchen look out over their garden, where a lot of their produce is grown. The food was all very good, with a nice wine match as well. I had heard of the potato bread, which my partner loved! All the food was tasty, textural, beautifully presented and interesting.

Great concept and beautiful food. We had lovely meal and have been surprised many times during the dinner. Hands down we've eaten the best bread in our life in Amass. Incredible. Mackerel was also exceptional. Just don't know how I feel about chicken as main course in such a restaurant. It was made really well but well, it's still a chicken. We also didn't really get artichoke, beans broth - it tasted like eastern european grandma's medicine. Staff was really friendly and helpful. So nice to see chefs running food and explaining the dishes. Big, open space and relax atmosphere make it really likeable. They have also great selection of wines.

Really delicious, well prepared food. Definitely a five star and I would say definitely worth a stop if you’re in Copenhagen. One of the better examples of new Nordic (or whatever comes after that). Each dish is really focused; a lot of care and attention goes into each dish and each component, but it doesn’t feel that way. Each dish works so well that it feels effortless, which is one of the highest complements I could give. Service was good, but not outstanding.

Wow! That was a great meal. Food was excellent and the service was relaxed and warm. And it felt like a great value for money considering you're in Copenhagen. The wine list was very compact but had plenty of good choices. The bread was amazing. The cod with chanterelles was excellent. I liked the emphasis on using parts of ingredients that are generally discarded. Great meal and would totally go back next time we're in Copenhagen.

Always a great experience here. Been coming to this place since they opened 7 years ago, simple but very tasty plates, there are other Noma alumni opening around the city over the years, but this is one of the few very stable ones. High quality ingredients and consistency making this a must every time I am in town. Love the potato bread, just can never have enough of it....now the new fried chicken, all is super good.

The restaurant is led by sommelier Martin Iuel-Brockdorff Bek and head chef Frederik Alexander Rudkjobing, who previously worked at Formel B.
Just had an amazing experience at Uformel. Due to personal taste we didn’t choose the menu, but ordered a la carte. The dinner started with the white asparagus with wasabi and kefir cream and the fried potato bread. We continued with a very special dish: the raw shrimps with new peas gooseberries and lime leaf (mind-blowing dish, highly recommended); my partner tried the beef tartar with tomatoes and black pepper. I had then the squid with salsa macha (oil, chilies and garlic, amazing smell!) and chicken broth with egg yolk while my partner ate the Iberian pork with asparagus and this incredible artichoke purée. Dulcis in fundo, we had rhubarb with salted caramel, yogurt sorbet and crispy sablè on top and the orange ice cream with caramelized white chocolate and saffron. Everything was perfect, from the extra kind and attentive service, to the care and dedication of the chefs.

Disappointed. Food wasnt good, definitely overpriced for the quality and quantity. Especially the fish dishes that had very fishy taste that was overpowering the rest, they were served in classical fine dining way but just didnt feel they were any special. The chicken didnt have any taste. What was amazing was the wine list.

Frankly, very disappointing experience. Food wise, the tacos were the highlight, with the mashed potato bread being quite tasty albeit lacking in accompanying sauce. Portions are very small at a high-end price, which would not be an issue if they were brought out at a good pace allowing you to order more. However for the meal we ordered for two (pictures of all the dishes), it took around 2 hours to fully receive all of it. Not sure if it is supposed to be, but the turbot and sweetbread were cold (the latter somewhat burnt as seen in the picture). Discombobulated and poor pacing from a slow kitchen when the restaurant was not at full capacity. Staff was initially friendly (not to be confused with serviceful), but the service was overall lacking. The waitress introduced herself at the start but was constantly being rotated with others, making the whole introduction somewhat pointless. Had to constantly call for attention to request drinks, food or even the bill, whilst staff was at the bar having drinks themselves. Ordered dessert that never came, despite waiting 20mins for it. When asking for the bill it was included, so had to request it was removed... No one, not the waitress, or manager, came to inquire what happened to the dessert, apologise or even acknowledge our presence. All we got was a: " we are having problems with the terminal so please use cash to pay if possible". No one could be bothered to say thank you or see us out, we had to walk out by ourselves with not even an acknowledgement. Overall our worst dining experience in Copenhagen: slow and mediocre food, small portions, poor service and overall feeling of being disregarded as customers.

A thoroughly marvellous experience. My wife and I just finished 4 courses of these fantastic smaller plates. Each one was full of flavour and beautifully presented and not one let us down. The sweetbreads were particularly good. The atmosphere is completed by the 70's/80's soundtrack and the great team serving the customers. Special kudos goes to Matthias and Amanda for being such fun (in a second language) and so helpful.

We had the tasting menu in September 2024 when visiting Denmark, with some adjustments made by the chef to make it halal for myself and my husband. And they kept it normal menu for my in-laws as they are not Muslims. Was very accommodating and friendly staff, they keep your glasses full and stomach satisfied. My father in law recently visited Copenhagen for work, and dined the restaurant again and loved it again. It is also very reasonably priced and very filling. Highly recommended!

I arrived without a reservation, and even though the restaurant was full, they managed to accommodate me. The food was delicious—I ordered the course menu. Handmade bread was delicious, , but butter was too salty. Some plates took a bit long to arrive, but it was worth the wait, all were delicious! Service was excellent

Five star food, and top notch service. Superb oysters! Fabulous craft beer. But after this delicious pricey meal, I ate an entire hamburger with fries in our hotel room, because the restaurant’s portions are sooo small.

We stumbled on this michellin star restaurant by accident with no reservations but were seated with no wait. Incredibly child friendly for an 8 year old though no kids menu. No pretentious dress code. Food was delicious. Even my picky child ate the food. Portions are small. They recommend 2-3 plates per person and they do charge for water.

Hands down, the best food I had in my Copenhagen trip. The famous open bread sandwich was out of the world. Excellent service too.

I visited alone but all the staff were welcoming and attentive, so I enjoyed relaxing time. Monkfish had like a bit of posh French taste, so was luxurious meal. Could say the best place in Copenhagen.

One of our go to places for smørrebrød. They also have great dinner but smørrebrød is the best. Great food - awesome service and always nice atmosphere. You need a reservation because it is superbusy.

Fine dining restaurant
King Hans Cellar, also known as Kong Hans Kaelder, is an upscale restaurant that has been open since 1976. It is located in the oldest building in Copenhagen and offers an intimate setting with Gothic arches. The restaurant is now a Michelin starred venue where Chef Thomas Rode Andersen serves elaborate Franco-Danish food to guests. The elegant dining room provides a sophisticated atmosphere for enjoying delicious seafood and colorful plates shared among friends and family at long table dinners.
Amazing! Food and Ambience such quiet dining! We were blown away by the service and care of each dish! Dishes were amazing and creatively prepared! An outstanding culinary adventure!

Five stars all around! This place is absolutely magical! The food was amazing but that's not what really stood out to me. It's how everything just comes together in this place. When I entered the little door and went down the stairs, I was greeted as if I was a king, returning to his castle full of loyal staff. Waiters are plentiful and incredibly polite. They spoke kind of like you would in the 1950s which fit the vibe of the place very well I think. It's hard to explain but in Danish there is a certain way of addressing someone respectfully, which has been lost in the sands of time. But not here! Waiters are very attentive and quick to pull out a chair for you. It was like being in a movie. The chefs came out with some of the dishes to be served at the tables and since we were a larger group the waiters made sure to be enough people serve all of us at the same time, rather than serving one or two guests at the time. The waiters were very good at explaining each dish, the food was fresh and the taste was out of this world. Also... Glasses were NEVER empty. Some people say the food is overpriced. And I get it. But you have to think of this experience as a whole. You're not just paying for the food. You're paying for premium service as well. I'm not a fancy eater, and this is probably the best and finest food I will ever have in my entire life. I am very grateful for the opportunity to dine and drink here, and I hope to be able to do so once more.

The food here does not need more words to describe its deliciousness, and the service is a well-deserved Michelin restaurant. I visited this restaurant in September 2023. There is only one drawback. It is very stuffy in the restaurant, which prevents you from having a good meal. Enjoy the food
Yvette H — Google review
⭐️ Atmosphere: 4/5 🍽️ Food & Drink: 5/5 🙋 Service/Staff: 5/5 💰 Price/Value: 4/5 **“King Hans Cellar is the kind of place where the food does the talking — and what it says is nothing short of poetic. Every plate that landed on the table was executed with near-flawless precision. Think: scallops so tender they practically melt, sauces whispering layers of umami, and textures balanced like a symphony. The wine list? Encyclopedic. A sommelier’s playground — bold vintages, unexpected pairings, and deep cuts that show someone behind the scenes really knows their bottles. Service was spot on — polished, present, but never hovering. They read the table like pros. Now, the atmosphere. A little too quiet. Understated elegance or just... lacking soul? That’s up for debate. You don’t come here for a buzzing scene — you come for the craft. Pricey? Definitely. But in Copenhagen’s fine-dining landscape, it holds its own. You’ll leave lighter in the wallet, but heavier with culinary memories. Perfect for a slow, indulgent evening where food and wine are the only things that matter.
Reuben D — Google review
One of the most dazzling dining experiences I've had. Service was outstanding, and the wine list was wonderful. The timing of the courses and the overall design of the menu was incredible. While no dishes "missed" there were several that stood out for good reasons. From the flawless brioche rolls, to the cheeseboard selections, and finally the desserts, I couldn't have been happier. Well worth the price point.
Steven H — Google review
Superb in every way. Dishes are expertly crafted, not overly complex with balanced flavor and texture. Service is finely tuned. Desserts are sublime and abundant. Michelin awards 2 stars however has many aspects of 3 stars. Expect 3+ hours for an enjoyable pace.

One of the best dining experience i have had. Amazing services from the stuff with flawless point. Dedicate people and working hard for the dinners experience. Food is excellent but a bit salty in some of the creamy sauce. Porcelain and ceramic presents a high quality as well as the glass to serve all the liquid. Amazing job especially the Hors d'oeuvres which is truly incredible.

Punk Royale offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience that is wild and unconventional. The atmosphere is filled with strobe lights, fog, and an unpredictable serving style that adds to the excitement. The menu is impressive, featuring high-quality dishes served in unexpected ways. Guests can expect vodka shots, caviar served on the back of their hand, and a lively ambiance that includes punk rockers interacting with diners.
We were not sure what to expect from our experience at Punk Royale. And "experience" is the best way to describe it. Punk Royale is more than a meal. From the moment they escort you through the door, it is nonstop excitement. Not only is the food outstanding, but it is served in interesting ways and there is not a moment wasted. Get ready to have fun, to get to know the diners around you, and to have some great food in rapid fire format. If you're looking for a restaurant where you wait 45 minutes for your next tiny dollop of food to arrive and worry about which utensil to use, do not go to Punk Royale. If you're looking to spend tons of money for a meal but still leave hungry, do not go to Punk Royale. If you're looking for a culinary roller coaster that you'll be able to excitedly tell your friends back home about... don't miss Punk Royale.

Talk about an elevated food experience! This was a wild ride from start to finish, the drinks were flowing, the food kept coming and all of it was so delicious and unique. The vibes were incredible and the staff - friendly and fun! I would highly suggest this as an alternative to some more stuffy Michelin experiences, this place is loose and exciting and a beautiful, vibrant, sensory overload but in the best way!! Only come here with your most open minded/coolest friends/family!!!!!

Crazy nice experience! Celebrated 5 year anniversary with the fiancée and what an experience! Amazingly decorated and well tasting food, paired with quality-tasting beverages. 90's and early 2000's music gave a very fitting ambience, and the waiters and chefs were very energetic and friendly. A recommendable visit

Such a fun and untraditional dining experience! I totally understand why Punk Royale has become so popular. Amazing food in a fun and quirky atmosphere that really challenges what you’d normally expect from a fine dining restaurant. Get ready for waiters trash-talking you, hand-feeding and making you drink a lot of alcohol... all while enjoying high-quality food served in the weirdest ways (e.g., from an ashtray). Alcohol is a big part of the experience too (but of course, they’ll ask in advance if you want to drink or not). Do yourself a favor and embrace the full experience! I don’t think you’ll find anything like Punk Royale anywhere else.

Punk Royale is a unique experience that I feel everyone should try. The food is excellent and the staff is really into what they are doing and what the concept is all about. 4 stars for the atmosphere only because it’s hard to talk in a large group, as the venue gets quite loud.

Restaurant
Mes and Meille is a luxurious restaurant operating out of two floors in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. The focus here is on top quality, sustainable food that can be enjoyed by more than just the privileged few. It uses seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and has an emphasis on both tradition and sustainability. Mes and Meille allows diners to explore between courses while they wait for their food, but once it arrives they are entirely focused on savoring its flavors.
Visited and had the 3 course lunch menu. Amazing food and service, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere (the music choice was 100% to my taste). The waiter was really attentive and all the dishes were delicious. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Copenhagen for a good quality lunch.
Joss T — Google review
Restaurant Meille offered a pleasant dining experience for my friend and me. While the food was delicious, some dishes stood out more than others. The first course featuring salmon was slightly underwhelming; the tomato sauce lacked flavor and didn't elevate the dish. However, the second course with mushrooms surprised us with its bold and zesty sauce. The main course, featuring veal, was expertly prepared and beautifully tender. The accompanying celery and kale provided a well-balanced and complementary side. The dessert struck the perfect note, being neither overly sweet nor too heavy. However, the wine pairing left much to be desired, which, from my experience, appears to be a common issue in Copenhagen (I'm not sure why I continue to ask for wine pairings when I'm disappointed 9 times out of 10). Unfortunately, their premium upgrade option was not available that evening - maybe that would have provided that extra quality in the glass. Having dined at Meille before, I can see myself returning someday. After all, it is what is on the plates that counts and here it tastes good!
Jens C — Google review
We had a 4-course meal ordered through Early bird and added the snacks in the beginning. The 3 snacks were the best part of the meal, they were tasty and rather special. The first course was based on cucumbers and was also quite interesting. The other dishes were executed well, but were not special at all. Although everything tasted good, I expected more personality from a Michelin-recommended restaurant. The service was very good and the price was decent. Another positive aspect was the drinks selection. Still, I doubt that I will come back, as I think there are many other more interesting restaurants in Copenhagen.
Ada B — Google review
Good solid evening. Service was real good and the food varied between pretty good and superb through the starter snacks and the set menu. However, as pointed out by my daughter, paying for water seems super unnecessary when wine is ordered across the diners. Another visit. Again paying for water... Great evening with friends!
Benjamin L — Google review
The food was amazing and delicious. Definitely worth a visit. We booked on early bird and the food did not disappoint. The seating was nice. The waiter was polite, maybe a bit to fast to introduce the menu but really nothing to worry about. I would for sure come back.

Incredible food by the executive chef Nikolaos Galatsanos and Alexandros Tzimogiannis. Exceptional flavours and dishes. The service was outstanding and extremely kind despite the fact that they are understaffed. The decoration and the enviroment though is something that needs to be taken care of.

Really nice experience! We are both vegetarian and had 4 course dinner and it was very well put together. We been here twice in two different seasons and they are very good at putting together fitting dishes for the season.

Tried the 4 retter menu with wine pairing which was carefully selected and good to taste. Portion sizes were good too. We had a small incident where we were served a red wine which wasn't fit for consumption. But the waitress immediately replaced it when she was notified. Suggestion to the restaurant: Always a good idea to ask clients to taste wine before serving a full glass.

Bakery
Hart Bageri is a popular bakery in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, founded by Richard Hart, the former head pastry chef at San Francisco's Tartine, and Rene Redzepi, co-founder of Noma. After finding success with sourdough bread at Tartine, Hart moved to Copenhagen with the support of Redzepi. The bakery is known for sourcing its impeccable sourdough for Noma.
Good coffee and Croissants, especially the Cardamom one was delicious and different to what other bakeries offer. Now I will say, when you enter the bakery something about the presentation isn’t just quite right. We were close to walking out because the pastries didn’t look appealing but glad we stayed as they were delicious. It’s not as visually pleasing but worth trying. Wish I’d tried the sourdough which looked amazing!
Anna — Google review
Hart was one of the bakeries we wanted to visit while in Copenhagen. The bakery has good reviews and we were excited to taste and test it out. Seattle now has world class bakeries and we were hoping this one will be good or better. We tried a sausage roll, chocolate croissant, quiche, raspberry tart and cardamom croissant. Most notable was the raspberry croissant. The rest were greasy and lacking the quality of a French bakery. Unfortunately, the quality and creativity were lacking. The sausage tasted like a greasy cheap burger shop product. Realize they have a good following of customers, so maybe you should try them out while in Copenhagen or you are discovering Copenhagen.
Viren A — Google review
A great spot for something sweet and a good coffee. They offer a nice variety of pastries, and the cardamom bun stands out as especially tasty. . There are also options with different flavors, like rhubarb, which were also quite good.
Álvaro F — Google review
The one and only review you need for Hart. Go in. Order anything on their menu. Have your tastebuds ready. Enjoy. Seriously, the stuff is proper good. The only negative is you’ll not be able to have everything in one sitting, but then again a reason to return! Loved the cardamon croissant. But the sesame bun with butter and cheese just hits different.

Latin American restaurant
If you're yearning for a taste of Latin America after indulging in Scandinavian fare, Gorda Empanadas is the perfect escape. Nestled in Vesterbro, this charming eatery, led by Chef Gonzalo Wolfsohn, specializes in homemade Argentinian empanadas that are just the right size for sampling multiple flavors. With personal favorites like braised beef and caramelized onion with cheese on offer, you can easily enjoy a delightful culinary journey.
We celebrated the birthday in this place and had a great time. The food was fantastic, the staff really friendly! This team definitely deserves a Michelin star!

Tucked away on a quiet street in Copenhagen, this charming Latin American restaurant is a 💎. Its cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff is an escape from the city’s hustle and a flavorful journey far beyond Scandinavia. I opted for the tasting menu, and every course was beautifully executed. The highlight for me was the chicken thigh main course which was moist, flavorful and with perfectly crisp skin. I also really enjoyed the ice cream dessert. The pacing of the meal was spot-on, allowing us to savor each course without ever feeling rushed. If you’re in Copenhagen and looking for something special, Gorda is absolutely worth a visit. My only wish is that the chairs were more comfortable.
Axxley — Google review
Great food, originally, funny and fitting ambiance, fast and nice service, relaxing or powerful good background music (Bossa, Latin, Jazz, Funk). I‘ve chosen a mixture of different tastes. Everything was great for itself but my combo made it perfect. The chicken wings are absolute madness - try them otherwise you will regret it.

Busy - indoor and outdoor seating. Most people got set menu. We did not. We’re not too hungry but searched empanadas on google maps and this place popped up. It was literally 300 feet from our accommodations and reviews were amazing so we decided to check it out. Glad we did!

On a whim, tried this place on my first night in Copenhagen, and it was an awesome decision. All the dishes were amazing, i got the set menu. My highlights were the tomato tostada, the ceviche and the salad! It was SO much food. Im gonna go back to get that ceviche again and pick up some empanadas.

A small, cozy restaurant with the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in for a great meal. The food was amazing, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The menu changes often, which just gives me another reason to go back.

Absolutely loved it! This is now one of our top places in Copenhagen. We had the tasting menu and every single dish was delicious — the balance, the pacing, the flavours… everything was spot on. The ceviche and the flan dessert were definite highlights for me. The staff were the nicest — super accommodating, genuinely engaged, and clearly passionate about what they do. Can’t wait for the next menu changes so we can go back and try new things! (No pictures this time — we were too busy enjoying the food!)

This place was very nice to visit. The decor is interesting to say the least - especially the restroom. The service is in top - very polite and professional crew. One from Venezuela and one from Spain the day we visited. The food is absolutely amazing. We all went for the set menu and were all full when leaving the restaurant afterwards. Their margaritas are tasty but quite small for a margarita. I believe the water could be free when you order cocktails and/or wine. Fine you pay for tap water if you do not order anything else to drink. Overall a very nice experience. Definitely a place to visit when in the area.

We had a very good cinnamon bun in the morning and it was still slightly warm. Lots of butter on the bottom, squishy and soft. Delicious flavour from the added lemon peel and butter but it was a tad greasy which I’m not sure is like other cinnamon buns. Still great. Takeaway only as it’s in the market hall.

We tried out the focaccia which was very oily, and cold. Probably not the best that could be. Not sure how fresh actually was. The staff member was friendly and answered few questions, however the serving process is quite slow, and the waiting time is high around lunch time.

Good focus on local ingredients and nice to have a variety of savoury/ sweet items to try each day! Tried two kinds of foccacia, probably made with Nordic varieties of flour, and with a French/ seasonal) approach to toppings (Onion/ ramson + fresh cheese) Centrally located in Torvehallerne, no seating options so takeaway is recommended. Chocolate milk/juice is also available for takeaway.

I certainly understand that this bakery would like to rid itself of burnt and not-fit-for consumption products, however, selling them at full price to my unsuspecting wife is probably not the best way to do so. If your employee sees the bread is burnt, why package it and hand it to a customer?

Restaurant Gorilla is a trendy and airy hangout located in the old meatpacking district of Copenhagen. The restaurant offers global dishes and cocktails, creating a unique dining experience. With its cozy bistro atmosphere, Gorilla serves up classic bistro meals with a Danish twist. The restaurant is divided into two areas, featuring a bar and a restaurant section.
I was genuinely impressed by this place. We started with a few small plates—stracciatella, artichoke cream, celeriac, bread, and some surprisingly delicious olives. Everything was flavorful, and the olives really stood out. Next came a pasta and chicken dish, which tasted great, though the chicken-to-pasta ratio could’ve been a bit better. The strip loin that followed was also solid. The highlight, though, was dessert: a cocoa mousse with blood orange ice cream and crumble. The combination of rich and tangy flavors was incredible—we devoured it in seconds. Overall, a great experience with attentive service and well-prepared food.
Mona L — Google review
Cold starters were disappointing and too simple. The beef (the sauce was really well executed) and the dessert were really good. The atmosphere is a little bit too much for me. Loud music and really lousy and "dirty" decoration makes it hard to see the place as a fine dining experience.
Bekir K — Google review
We visited this beautiful and bustling restaurant with a group of seven friends, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and lively—perfect for a fun evening out. We started with a few shared plates, including some delicious olives, fresh bread, and crispy croquetas that were a hit with everyone. For my main, I had the cod served with crispy potatoes, and it was absolutely spot-on—perfectly cooked fish with just the right amount of crunch and flavor from the potatoes. To finish off, I had a small slice of cake for dessert. While it was very tasty, I do wish it had been a bit more generous in size. Still, it was a sweet end to a great meal. What really made the night special was how much everyone at the table enjoyed their food and the overall vibe. The restaurant was busy but never overwhelming, and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this place for a group night out or a special dinner—you won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful evening at GORILLA! We had read recommendations, all of them were very good. And that's exactly what we experienced. The restaurant is located on the corner of Flæsketorvet in the Vesterbro district, a really cool area and location. The difficult decision was, as everything on the menu looked so good. We then decided to explore the snacks. Bread & Olive Oil (45 DK) Homemade bread, very tasty! Artichoke Cream, Olives & Oregano (65 DK), also very tasty, and the bread went very well with it. Cod Croquettes (2 Pieces 50 DK), the most delicious croquettes I've ever eaten (and I've been to many very good tapas bars in Spain) - I immediately ordered them again. Stracciatella, Bitter Salad & Tomato (120 DK), also very tasty! Crudo of Cod, Tomato, Pistachio, Blood Orange (85 DK) Sensationally delicious, my highlight here. Everything was very tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are absolutely fair, not at all overpriced. We had a wonderful evening here and were able to enjoy the sun and 18 degrees Celsius outside. Many thanks to the kitchen and the entire team.

Great food and a fun atmosphere. Buzzy when eating and then got louder as the night went on and turned into a place to party. Great dishes for sharing to start and lovely mains. Checked with the kitchen and gave options. Not highlighted on menu, but just ask.

The menu features a variety of small plates that combine Nordic and non-Nordic influences, showcasing the chef's experimental approach to cuisine. Guests praise the outstanding service and friendly staff, as well as the upscale ambiance.
Very nice experience! Outstanding service, food above average and a very nice wine selection and great but expensive drinks. Went here for lunch and had 4.5 courses, all of them something special and fulfilling. The interior looks nice and you can watch the chefs creating your food. Would go here again if I had the money, lol

This was my favorite meal in Copenhagen, which is saying a lot because the city has epic food and amazing restaurants. The food here is so delicious, and you see the art behind making the food because of the beautiful open kitchen that is so clean and well organized. It is not only amenable watching a performance. The staff is super friendly and professional. The ambience is upscale and sophisticated, and the restaurant is very fresh produce and ingredients. I had the avocado and caviar dish, which looked like a masterpiece and melts in your mouth. I also had the seared salmon dish, which was perfectly seasoned, and the crispy skin was delicious. It was served with the her risk of red sauce that was very yummy. The restaurant also brings you there freshly made bread and fresh butter. I highly recommend this restaurant. Make reservations in advance!

Geist is an interesting restaurant in the middle of Copenhagen - seen from the outside it doesn’t look much, but from the inside it’s pretty impressive. The service is young, unpretentious and knowledgeable about both the food and wine. On the downside both my wife and I agreed that the dishes we had at our visit looked prettier that they tasted and if you are really hungry after touring Copenhagen you’ll need at least three to four dishes. Been there, tried it but will probably not come back.
Morten O — Google review
Geist has a great atmosphere, service and food. I would definitely recommend going there. It is also a good pick for groups. I would've given 5 starts if the lobster tartar had not been so bad. It is one of the most shared dishes they serve, but it looks much better than it tastes.
Daniel M — Google review
The food was really delicious, but it took over 3 hours for it all to be served. I would recommend, but tell your waiter that you like the dishes to come out one after the other, rather than waiting 30 mins between courses. Make sure you finish with the bread and ice cream pudding

I’m glad I came over for a visit. Ordered a few dishes with recommendations from the server and I left satisfied. Highly recommended!
Syahirah H — Google review
Excellent dinner - not cheap - small plates of interesting combinations and tastes. Very fresh and exciting. The decor and atmosphere isn’t as buzzy as some but that may be an advantage. But the food and service was impeccable.
Alan J — Google review
Nice trendy place but price of drinks incredibly high, be careful on a bar where you do not ask price but just order some drinks... and portions of food are very small but ))) what do you think? Yes, too expensive for what you get. Finally, the price per person there the same as in a perfect Belgium restaurant ...

Mikkeller has truly carved out a niche for itself in the vibrant beer scene of Copenhagen, and its presence at the airport is a delightful surprise for travelers. This trendy spot serves an impressive array of draft artisan ales from Mikkeller and other microbreweries, making it a must-visit for beer enthusiasts.
Tiny bar packed with serious brews. Really great selection on tap that would put in the shame some "tap rooms" in the UK. The bottle range is also heavyweight. Service efficient, could do with a bit more warmness, but hey, you're in the middle of airport terminal. It is solid and gives good reason to fly from Copenhagen again.
Pawel P — Google review
Great place to kill waiting time for your flight. Wide selection of beers, prices just fine for the airport and unusual beer. Just bar chairs are very tiny and difficult to sit on but there is a lot of seating options around, so no problem at all. Staff was nice.
Monika R — Google review
Mikkeller is genuinely popular in the local scene, with numerous branches across the city. Every year, beer enthusiasts from around the world flock here to attend the annual beer festival. It's such a grand and iconic event! The airport branch of Mikkeller provides bar stools for customers — it’s a place for travelers to have one last toast before leaving, commemorating their Mikkeller experience. Beer selections and prices are handwritten in chalk-style fonts on blackboards for beer lovers to browse. If you’re curious to try a new style, the staff here are knowledgeable and will recommend based on your preferences. Fruit beers here are especially suited for ladies or first-timers, with a sweet plum-like flavor and a smooth finish. For those adventurous enough to explore the more complex sides of life, sour beers are a worthy challenge — one sip, and you’ll have a full-on bitter melon expression! 😂 Although this airport branch doesn’t have as many choices as MBCC, all the classics are available, making it a perfect gateway for those who’ve only ever known wheat beers to discover a whole new world.
LongEr — Google review
A great place to grab a decent drink before flying. Huge range. Friendly vibes and knowledgeable service. Prices are very fair for an airport bar. Also a cool place to grab some Danish souvenirs before flying
Angela C — Google review
Grate place worldwide. Nice to see how many people from all the world make a stop there, enjoy some beer conversation and grab some souvenirs. Been many times hope more will follow
Andrejs Š — Google review
Best place to have a beer in CPH airport! The staff is super nice, and they have a great selection of beers.

Nimb Gemyse is a stunning venue that offers a unique blend of nature and culinary delight, perfect for hosting memorable events. Imagine celebrating your special day in an enchanting greenhouse surrounded by lush greenery, or enjoying an intimate reception at their exclusive restaurant. On Saturdays, couples can even share their first dance amidst the magical backdrop of Tivoli's fireworks. Located conveniently near Copenhagen City Hall, it’s an ideal spot for those planning a quick civil ceremony followed by a charming gathering.
Can’t praise this restaurant enough. A little gem in the busy Tivoli amusement park. It looks out of place, but if you want a quiet lunch in a nice environment, this IS the place! This vegetarian restaurant is so beautiful, full of plants and pumpkins 🎃 The service we received was superb. The waiter was attentive and always showed up at the right time. Food was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. I loved it!
Albert T — Google review
Really nice experience at Gemyse - that is located in the Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen. 7 course-menu, including drinks. Vegetarian/vegan only. The restaurant is really cute and they were in the Michelin Guide in 2020. I don’t like corn that much, but my favorite dish was made 90% of corn! I strong recommend it!
Kátia C — Google review
Enchanting atmosphere with reasonably priced, seasonal dishes. The wait staff is lovely and works very together well as a team. Staff recommended three starters and a light option or two as a meal for two people. This was a good quantity and allowed you to try multiple things. It was hard to go wrong!
Alix R — Google review
Very intricate and unique dishes. The portions seem small but are filling. Favorite dish was the fried bread with sofritas, but everything taste great and looked great! I do think the prices are a little too high for the dishes as they do taste good, but are not breathtaking...
Sener G — Google review
Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant located in a really pretty name hotel with interval the park. It’s a kitschy place, and the price is rather high, but it’s a fun place to go especially when there’s outdoor concert happening on Friday evenings in the summer and Tivoli Gardens. The food here is pretty good and I had the tasting menu that included multiple courses. It is a lot of food and I was unable to finish it, but every course was delicious. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection. The best part about this is the ambience and the outdoor seating area where you could see the stage and the performance.
Lenore C — Google review
Very nice and cozy place. They have small bonfires outside, for making snobrød and pancakes and a beautiful garden with vegetables. The restaurant was also nice and cozy, and you can get a completely vegetarian 6 courses meal, that tasted delicious. It is expensive, but not that much if compared to other restaurants in Tivoli. Might even be cheaper than some of them.
Carolina P — Google review
Delightful dining experience with very good staff, and very high quality food. I would recommend the mushroom dish and the lobster, and the bread (when fresh) made with Kimchi liquid is also excellent. The Gemyse salad is fresh and crisp, but rather small and the fish was perfectly cooked. My only gripe is that the cauliflower had too much sauce.
Benjamin S — Google review
Amazing experience, beautiful interiors and lovely waitresses. Only negative is the plates are super small at lunch time but we were told this in advance so knew to order one of everything and share between 3.

Rondo is a charming bakery located in Norrebro, Copenhagen. The owner, Thomas Spelling, fulfilled his dream of opening a neighborhood bakery to complement his wine bar. Situated across from a school, it attracts parents dropping off and picking up their kids. The bakery offers delectable pastries like croissants and wholegrain rye slices for breakfast and prepares mouthwatering focaccia with tomatoes, olive oil, and anchovies for lunch.
Really good pastries; especially the savoury ones. Only issue is if you come too late they run out of good items.

Love the bun&cheese!!! ❤️💕 it’s the best one so far 👀 there are no seats inside the cafe but a few great ones outside!
Rujirada H — Google review
Food is amazing! focaccia and bun one of the best. service could be better :(
Leslie Z — Google review
Good sourdough abd BMO, but they have only one option of coffee - filter. They can add milk of course, don't expect Latte, cappuccino or drinks like these
Xia H — Google review
Got their feta n spinach pastry (bcs the reviews said that the savoury ones are rly nice) It was ok. It’s defo one of the nicer ones but not as exceptional as I was expecting.
Winnona K — Google review
The sourghdough buns are super delicious. They only serve filter coffee, but if you like that, it’s a good one!
Line R — Google review
Cheese and leek buttered bun with cheese. Perfection as we know it. It sounds simole but is out of this world divine flavour. Good filter coffee!
Jade — Google review
Savoury pastry (40DKK) I was actually asking for another pastry (with onion, parmesan, and mushroom) but somehow got this one with spinach and feta. My fault for not realising until much later. A lot of people recommended Rondo’s savoury pastry to me but this one was just decent. It is nice to finally try out non-sweet pastry in Copenhagen for sure, however the spinach tasted weird cold and feta made the pastry soggy. I can’t help but feel like I should have asked for BMO or focaccia sandwich instead. Cinammon roll (35DKK) Very flaky pastries compared to the sweet bun version (more like a bread than pastry) I usually eat. I did find it a bit too sweet, though Rondo’s version had an interesting lemon twist to this classic pastry. It was nice, but not something I would repurchase.
