Music Festivals
The Copenhagen Jazz Festival is a renowned event that has been held every July since 1979, making it the city's largest cultural festival. The festival transforms Copenhagen into an open-air concert hall, offering both ticketed main concerts by famous jazz artists and free performances in bars and parks. With a backdrop of cobbled streets and outdoor spaces, as well as bars and concert halls, the music ranges from bebop to post-industrial fusion, with elements of spoken word poetry and world music.
Copenhagen Jazz Festival is one of the reasons, if not THE reason why if love my city in the summertime. It's a period full of improvised music, inspiring us to add improvisation to our lives in general

Music Festivals
Copenhagen comes alive in the summer with a lineup of exciting events, including the jazz festival and the renowned Distortion Festival. The five-day street party celebrates electronic music, art, and urban culture with multiple music stages, art installations, and food vendors across the city's neighborhoods. Distortion culminates in a massive closing party known as Distortion O. This well-organized festival offers an eclectic mix of entertainment for attendees to enjoy.
Loved it, didn’t enjoy that some of the people attending were rude though - a lot of unnecessary heavy pushing. Otherwise enjoyed the music, the food, okay cockatils (although I couldn’t feel the alcholol in them, was a bit like juice). But overall I would visit again.
Aleksandra A — Google review
A magical festival with a lot of people and some cool stages, but a bit too much for me. I prefer to have a festival with a little less space and a little less people like Karrusel festival.

Copenhell is a fantastic festival known for its wide range of good music, although some attendees may wish for more death metal. The atmosphere is great and the volunteers are full of love. The festival offers a large selection of food and drinks, ensuring there's something for everyone. It's a delightful event with a great atmosphere, attracting a friendly crowd of metal heads. Copenhell continues to improve each year, catering to its audience and creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Easy , people nice , polite, smile, happy
Hiso B — Google review
Copenhell is a very special heavy metal rock festival, celebrated every June in Refshaløen - an industrial site in the heart of Copenhagen. Located beside the food district of Copenhagen, location filled with wear houses where alternative art, music, indoor sports, street food and seasonal a windsurf school. You can arrive by car, bus, or cicle by bike… during the festival apart of the bus 2A, the bus nr.666 is the perfect alternative to arrive to “hell”. You can’t miss this epic rock/metal/punk festival… a very loved Scandinavian destination. 🤘🏽
Fernanda P — Google review
The most amazing festival ever. I would recommend everyone who are into rock or metal to visit this place. The people are amazing and the atmosphere is so inviting. There are room for everyone here. I've been coming to this festival for 10+years and will definitely continue participating.

I was there in 2023. Very good and I enjoyed most of it. However, I experienced xenophobia from an attendee at Copenhell. After accidentally spilling some very small drops of beer on him, I immediately apologized in English, but he responded with aggressively in Danish and refused to switch languages. His friends had to pull him away twice to avoid a fight. I never went again to CopenHell. In over 40 years of going to metal festivals, I have never faced this kind of hostility. Heavy metal is about unity, not xenophobia. Copenhell should make it clear that such behavior is unacceptable and promote zero tolerance toward discrimination, especially at an international festival.

Tivoli Gardens is a 19th-century amusement park located in the heart of Copenhagen. It features an antique roller coaster and a live entertainment program, making it a magical and traditional attraction. The park is the second-oldest operating amusement park globally and one of the most popular seasonal theme parks, attracting nearly five million visitors annually.
Absolutely great place! All decoration changes every season and it’s a perfect place to have photoshoots here. I have a subscription and often bring my tourists here for photo shoots. The place is full of locations like from a fairy tale. But I only post my last visit here at night (I didn't try my best this time 😁) You can check more of my work on Instagram ninelzakaryan_photo

An excellent park although off to a skeptical start when I saw the first ride we went on had a member of staff on to "pull the brake". Lots of rides to suit all with a fair number of "tummy turners". Queues were small and the facilities such as food and toilets were at a good standard. We used the Copenhagen card to get in but you need to pay extra for the rides. Was quite cold when we were there so dress appropriately. The teenage kids enjoyed it so that's a thumbs up !
Alex J — Google review
Had such a fun day at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen! The autumn vibes were magical, and the park looks absolutely stunning as the lights come on in the evening. I highly recommend going late afternoon so you can enjoy it in daylight and then see it sparkle at night. The food was delicious, the rides and attractions were super fun, and the whole day just felt so cozy and special. A must-visit for anyone in Copenhagen! 🎡🍂✨
Lianne H — Google review
Went here for the halloween themed gardens, it was amazing. So much to do for all ages. Rides, show for the little children, pumpkin carving, amusements, stalls to buy gifts and plenty of food and drink stalls. You can go in and out if you get a stamp and there's plenty of shops nearby. Was a great day out.
Jade M — Google review
We visited just before Halloween and had a great time. The decorations and while atmosphere just felt special. I initially thought that the entry and ride ticket was a little expensive but it certainly wasn’t, only major queues were for food outlets at meal time which is understandable. Download the app and you can also have free copies of the ride photos, something completely unheard of in our native UK. Highly recommend and a highlight of our family trip to Copenhagen
Chris F — Google review
Beautiful theme park in the city center of Copenhagen, Denmark. My Danish friends told me that It was the inspiration of Disney’s World. Lovely theme park with various rides and attractions, bars, ice cream, candy shops and restaurants as well as souvenirs and artisanal shops. I came here in October so the park was lavishly decorated with Halloween theme 🎃🎃🎃. It was packed even on weekdays. I tried Demon, the 🎢 rollercoaster (the queue was 45 minutes for a 1 - minute fun ride! 😇) and we had fun! We also had wonderful dinner in Mikkeler Færgerkroen restaurant. Fun attractions include the old wooden rollercoaster, fatamorgana, carousel, boat ride, Ferris wheels 🎡, swinging carousel, bumper car and more. The tickets are available online as well as through Tivoli app. You can get the passes as well, starting for the standard pass for 12 months to silver, gold and wild card. Get more details on their app and website. Single ride tickets are also available, from 50 - 60 DKK. Watch out for the health and safety limitations for the rides. Toilets are available here and there. Some parts are flat and ♿️✅ disability friendly, but some parts have stairs.
Indah S — Google review
Great experience. Was really nice walking and enjoying all the Halloween themed corners. There are some nice food stalls and also some nice cafe and restaurants so that makes it a really nice full experience with the haunted houses and all the rest of the amenities. Great overall.
Inc C — Google review
Great day out, rides were good. Went on a few couple times. Wait times were around 30mins which wasn't too bad for most rides. Food was priced reasonably inside the park and you also had the food hall next door so had a few to choose from. Will definitely visit again when visiting Copenhagen.

Christmas market
The Hans Christian Andersen Christmas Market is located near Copenhagen's court house and offers a small but charming atmosphere. Visitors can stroll through tree-lined paths, rose-bound arches, and admire various sculptures including the statue of Hans Christian Andersen. The Kings Gardens feature herbaceous borders, a rose garden, and several fountains for visitors to enjoy. Although some may find it smaller than expected, the market exudes a lovely Christmas spirit with friendly Santa Claus and delightful attractions like the Super spiralpotet.
Small and cozy market. Few stalls with food and drinks. Plenty of stalls to buy jewellery too. It’s small but has a great cozy atmosphere.

A cozy little market in the heart of Copenhagens main shopping area, lots of amazing craft markets and delicious food!
Nigel M — Google review
Went there recently after 2years, the place is nice but there seems to be more jewelry stands than food and Christmas stands😂
Jasmine B — Google review
Tiny market not what I thought it was going to be, a few stalls selling food and handy crafts a stall with fake furs and that's it . Not recommended to seek out unless you are walking past don't bother
Darran N — Google review
Really small market and although it was cute to look at and maybe have a drink we had to leave there in under 5 minutes because in front of it there were two huge speakers broadcasting something in an Arabic language, making it impossible to actually enjoy the Christmas market on a Saturday evening. We went closer to see who could organize such an inappropriate event and discovered what they stood for was hate speech! Tens of boards spread around the speakers with hate messages agains Atheism, and despicable drawings with atheist brains exploding from stupidity. So disappointing to see local authorities not doing anything to stop and punish this sort of hate speech and allowing it to spoil such a lovely event.

Many workshops and events for which is recommended to precooked tickets. People can eat on several places, or try different drinks like wine, sake or beer. However, the organisation of the event can be so much improved, the food allergies are not considered by almost none of the partners, the place gets super noisy and dirty. Also, there should be more toilets.

The Copenhagen Photo Festival is a large international photography festival that takes place annually in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is one of the largest photography festivals in the world and includes both professional and amateur photographers from around the globe. The festival runs for four weeks and features exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and guided tours of local photo studios.
Great event to visit in Reffen and also all aroud Copenhagen. There are three exhibitions in Reffen. You need to buy a wristband which is 150 kroner for all of the exhibitions. Also make sure to visit their website for more info on talks, openings and special events around the festival. Festival goes on until 16th of June this year

I had a lovely chance to volunteer at the 2022 festival. It was great to see the amazing amount of work that goes into making something so wonderful. Everyone who came really went away with a new perspective or appreciation for the work/themes they saw and it was exciting to be a part of the process. The industrial island of Refshaleøen suits the festival center so nicely too, worth the trip!

(Translated by Google) Copenhagen Photo Festival 2025 I have to say that I am quite surprised and disappointed by how unprofessional and profit-oriented this year's Copenhagen Photo Festival has become. I will definitely not be attending next year's festival if the same organizers are behind it. It is actually sad, because it could have been a super interesting experience if it had been handled by a much more professional team. Below I have listed a number of points that describe my experience of this year's festival: Their website was not only confusing and confusing, but also had a number of errors in the active links, which were either dead (404) or led to the wrong pages. In my eyes, this shows that the site has not been properly checked before it was published. Hopelessly unprofessional. The prices were generally far too high in relation to the content. For example, you had to buy a day pass to get access to a book market, which otherwise only consisted of about 8-10 small tables with rather indifferent content. One stand had old catalogs, another old books, which in reality seemed more suitable for a flea market. Compared to the free access to Chart's book market, where a multitude of publishers presented their books, this seemed almost like an embarrassing insult to us paying guests. VIP events, for which you couldn't buy tickets, were arranged for a small, selected VIP group - why even present them in the program? It seemed in every respect exclusionary to all other art photography enthusiasts and practitioners. When I had a question about one of the listed events on the website, I called the phone number provided. A voice simply said "Maja?" - nothing else. And the person in question never followed up on the call. A rather unprofessional approach. Several of the “free” events listed on the website were exhibitions that were already open before the festival started – for example at Den Sorte Diamant. It therefore seemed more like “artificial filler” to expand an otherwise rather thin program. I also met several people who had bought both a day pass and a ticket to Martin Parr on the opening day, without realizing that the ticket to the Parr lecture automatically gave access to the exhibition on the opening day – so buying a day pass was unnecessary. The information was relatively cryptically written in italics, at the very bottom of the event page for the Parr lecture. Profit optimization? It could smell like it. The festival is called “Copenhagen Photo Festival”, but it extended over a much larger geographical area – including Malmö and Jutland. Why call it “Copenhagen”? Again an attempt to artificially boost an otherwise thin festival program? The exhibitions at the Royal Danish Theatre were unstructured and the location was far too dark. Pictures were hung along stairs and in dark hallways, many without captions - except for Parr's (clearly prioritized) main exhibition. Instead, there was a printed list of captions - without pictures and without numbering - which made it unclear which texts belonged to which pictures. Useless and poorly arranged. The fact that a day pass solution had been chosen rather than an actual festival pass, as in the past, clearly shows that this year there was much more focus on profit than on a good user experience. I also met several "volunteers" who worked hard for free - which makes me wonder who actually benefits from the excessively high prices for this year's festival. And if this festival receives any kind of public support, then my point about the "various "VIP events" (CPH+) is also a strange and not very inclusive approach. If I could give them "0 stars" I would because it has been a directly negative experience for me. An overly expensive, bad and messy experience. Profitoptimering?

Grøn Koncert Tårnby originated in 1983 as a one-time event to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Dyrehavsbakken theme park. Over time, it has grown into an annual tradition held in various cities across Denmark. The concert is not just about music; it also supports the Foundation for Muscular Dystrophy. Christiansborg Palace is a must-see in Copenhagen, Denmark. It's home to the Danish Parliament, the Prime Minister's office, and the Supreme Court of Denmark. The palace also houses government and judicial offices. Visitors can explore its lavish reception rooms like the Great Hall, Tower Hall, and Oval Throne Room. Don't miss the royal kitchen and the remains of an older castle beneath the main building. The palace has a rich history spanning over 800 years and covers a large area.
Such a beautiful building on the inside and out. There aren't loads and loads of rooms to see but each one is unique and has its own charm. The tapestries in the great hall were particularly interesting and super colourful. This palace definitely felt worth it!

Christiansborg Slot was one of the highlights of my Copenhagen visit. Walking through the grand halls and admiring the royal reception rooms and tapestries felt like stepping back into history. The ruins beneath the palace were fascinating, giving a glimpse of the city’s medieval past. I also loved visiting the tower—its panoramic views of Copenhagen were simply stunning. The mix of politics, royalty, and history in one place makes it a truly memorable stop.
Vidya H — Google review
I only had time to visit the royal reception rooms and the experience was already beyond my expectation. The Queen's Tapestries at the Knights' Hall were jaw-dropping. 1,100 years of Danish history were woven into 17 colourful tapestries. They were modern and educative. If I had more time, I would spend all day looking at them and try to learn the history/stories in each of them.

Christiansborg Palace is a historic palace in Copenhagen, Denmark, that now houses the country's three branches of government: the Parliament, the Supreme Court, and the Ministry of State. Once a royal residence, it is open to the public and features attractions like the Royal Reception Rooms, the Royal Stables, and a viewing tower with panoramic city views. Visitors can also explore the underground ruins of earlier castles that stood on the site.
Randy B — Google review
The grand, grandeur and wonderful castle in the heart of Copenhagen. What a splendid way the castle is decorated and preserved and still active. Such display of wealth is dazzling. They have visuals and videos of the historical aspect of the castle. Interesting to go through them and better for kids to enhance their knowledge.
Tas A — Google review
Christiansborg Palace is a unique and fascinating destination in Copenhagen, blending royal splendor with the seat of modern democracy. It’s one of the only buildings in the world that houses all three branches of a country’s government — the Danish Parliament, Supreme Court, and Prime Minister’s Office — all within a former royal palace. That alone makes it worth visiting. Architecturally, Christiansborg is an imposing and elegant structure built in Neo-Baroque style with touches of Neo-Classicism, especially visible in its formal reception halls. The current palace is actually the third iteration — previous versions were destroyed by fire in 1794 and again in 1884. What you see today is the result of a rebuild completed in the early 20th century, blending old grandeur with modern sensibilities. The tall central tower is the highest in Copenhagen and offers free public access with panoramic city views. Inside, the Royal Reception Rooms are a highlight, especially the Great Hall with its striking modern tapestries depicting Danish history, designed by artist Bjørn Nørgaard. The Queen still uses these rooms for official state functions, adding a sense of living history to the experience. You can also explore the Royal Stables, the Royal Kitchen, and the underground ruins, where remnants of the medieval Bishop’s Castle and earlier palaces have been preserved. In short, Christiansborg may not have the romantic fairy-tale look of some other castles, but it offers something deeper — a powerful connection between Denmark’s royal past and its modern democracy. A rewarding and educational visit, especially for those interested in history, architecture, and politics.
Dmitry Z — Google review
We went up on the tower and it has a nice 360 view around the city of Copenhagen. We were lucky as there was not that crowded when we wanted to go in, so waited around 20 minutes. When we went down, there was huge line of people standing there which was a surprise. It is fine up there but definitely not worth waiting in the line for 1 hour or more.

Amalienborg Palace, an exquisite 18th-century rococo complex in Copenhagen, serves as the winter residence for the Danish monarchy. This remarkable ensemble consists of four distinct palaces—Brockdorfske, Levetzaus, Moltkes, and Schackske—each showcasing stunning architecture and rich history. Surrounding a grand plaza, these palatial structures were adopted by the royal family in 1794 after a devastating fire at Christiansborg Castle.
If you’re in Copenhagen, Amalienborg is a must-visit. This beautiful palace showcases the rich history, details, and artifacts of the Danish royal family. One of the highlights is the changing of the guard, which takes place daily at 12 pm and is a wonderful experience to witness. There’s no entry fee. Walk around the palace square, since the surroundings are equally charming.

I had the pleasure of visiting this magnificent palace, and it truly felt like stepping back in time into a world of royalty. The interiors are grand and beautifully preserved, with multiple sections showcasing how the royals once lived. From the opulent living quarters and lavish dining halls to the intricately designed courtyards, every corner tells a story of elegance and power. What stood out to me most was the attention to detail—exquisite furniture, ornate chandeliers, and priceless artifacts that reflect a royal lifestyle at its peak. The guided displays made it easy to understand the history and appreciate the traditions behind each room. Walking through the palace, I could almost imagine the grandeur of royal gatherings and ceremonies that once filled these halls. Overall, it’s a place where history and beauty come together perfectly. If you want to experience the charm of a royal lifestyle, this palace is a must-visit.

We came here with the intention of observing the Changing of the Guards. It starts at 12, so try to be there at 11:30 for a better stand spot. Because lots and lots of people come to see this. Bring hat and sunglasses during summer season. If you are interested in these come otherwise enjoy the castle. You have to buy tickets for the castle and check timing.

Visited Amalienborg Palace on a rainy Sunday 🇩🇰. It’s famous for the Changing of the Guard ceremony that starts sharp at 12 noon and lasts about 30 minutes ⏰. Even with the rain, the square was fully packed! If you want a front-row view, reach by 11:45. For us, it was an okay experience — interesting to watch just once.

Truely amazing.. i had visited Amelienborg palace with my family in the month of May.. just was spell bound by the beauty and architectural marvel of the same. The whole palace was worth watching again and again from each and every angle. As we had visited on a weekend there was really a big crowd which really added to the enrichment of the ambience.. We had planned to reach there to watch the famous change of guard event. It was so awesome.. even though it is something that happens on a daily basis but the accuracy and precision of the event is something to adore for.. From accessibility perspective we have the well established punlic transportation of Copenhagen.. A must watch if you are visiting Copenhagen..

Go at 11:30am to get a good view of the changing of the guard. They push everyone back behind the black lines of the quad closest to the brown doors/left of the entry pillars if you want a good view, but the guards do a march around the while Palace eventually. We also saw the marching band through the town which was cool!

how to enjoy the guards change parade at it's max 1. be at the square at 1130 - at this the police will start to clear the square 2. tourists are allowed to stand only in certain areas 3. take the position marked at the screenshot - this one is the best, since you will see the change and the guards will marsh along you enjoy :-)

Copenhagen Zoo, located in Frederiksberg, Denmark, is a popular attraction for visitors of all ages. The zoo offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and is easily accessible year-round. With its airy Norman Foster-designed elephant house and Arctic habitat for polar bears, the zoo provides an engaging experience for animal enthusiasts. Visitors can observe majestic lions confidently roaming their enclosures while peacocks strut around with an air of superiority.
This zoo is so beautiful! It has a variety of animals. The cages are nice and clean. The zoo has stunning views as it is on a hill. We really liked all the greenery. It is just beautiful to walk around. We also really enjoyed the playground. Very cute! We decided to purchase a Copenhagen card and the zoo entrance was included. We will definitely be back here to explore more.

Very well planned area. It is quite good for explaining animals to children. Most of the animal areas are in good condition such as lion, kangaroos and panda. But the polar bear living area should be improved. We used Copenhagen Card for entry, and entered afternoon. So it is not crowded and fun to walk around.

Awesome zoo in huge area and beautiful landscape. This place has all the animals you can imagine of with engaging activities like goat patting, feeding the lions, kids makeup, great playgrounds and exhibitions. The restrooms are clean and all areas are very well maintained. There’re plenty of food kiosks or restaurants along the way and they all offer good foods. Highly recommended to spend at least half a day here to cover many sections like Savannah, rainforest and the poles. Make sure you wear comfy shoes.

Me and my children loved this zoo, it was clean, had so many animals and areas to visit we spent 4 hours here. Really easy to get the bus to and from. Lots of food and drink stalls if you wanted to eat there. Everywhere is so clean and tidy and there are loads of staff around if you want to ask where something is or about an animal etc..would definitely recommend this if you visit Copenhagen. Our visit was covered by the Discovery card that I purchased before we arrived.

A good day out with loads to look at. Spread across two sites the zoo had something for everyone. The animals appeared well looked after and you could view them inside or outside in many cases. Plenty of cafes which were reasonably priced. Used our Copenhagen card to get in so nothing to pay. Wrap up warm if going in colder climates.

Rådhuspladsen is a lively and spacious public square in the heart of Copenhagen, right in front of the impressive City Hall building. It’s a great spot to take in the architecture, sit and relax, or use as a central meeting point. There’s always something happening — street performers, events, or just the flow of locals and tourists passing through. It’s also well-connected, with easy access to the metro, buses, and nearby attractions like Strøget and Tivoli Gardens. While the square itself doesn’t take long to explore, it’s definitely worth a stop when you’re in the area. Would I recommend it? ✅ Yes, especially for a quick visit or photo stop during your city walk.

Step out into Radhuspladsen, Copenhagen's grand central square, and you'll find a place that feels both timeless and modern. The magnificent Copenhagen City Hall, with its intricate stonework and towering clock, evokes a sense of grandeur straight out of a fantasy novel. Adding to this magical atmosphere is one of my favourite features: the Dragon Fountain. Its design is truly mystical, looking like something pulled directly from a medieval tale. The dragons coiled around the basin and the figures battling them feel like a story carved in stone. Beyond the stunning architecture, the square itself is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. It feels incredibly safe, and as the sun sets, the night view is simply beautiful, with the city lights illuminating the majestic buildings. Radhuspladsen is a must-see for anyone who loves a beautiful cityscape with a touch of magic.

Café Dyrehaven, located in Vesterbro, is a trendy and popular spot offering a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food from breakfast to dinner. The café's funky decor, complete with deer antlers, adds to its charm. It was once known as the Acid Garden but has since transformed into one of the most popular cafes in the gentrified neighborhood. The menu features a variety of breakfast options and hot dishes, including morgenmadstallerken and smorrebrood.
The BEST open sandwiches, the chicken salad was my favourite of the two, however the salmon was also amazing. It’s also great that you can choose two smaller options so you get to try more flavours! Lovely local beer on tap too, the staff were super friendly also.

This place was recommended and was attended by locals. The photos of the place and the actual place are out of date. It looked like an old pub. There were only 2 waiters serving the whole place and it looked like a total mess. The drinks order was wrong and we had to send it back 3 times. The simple food such as eggs royal took 30min to be prepared. It wasnt to the highest quality. The waitress was very slow and paid no attention to customers. One of the worst customer service seen in Copenhagen. I wouldnt recommend having breakfast there

Copenhagen Contemporary is an international art center located in a former B&W welding hall on Refshaleoen. Covering over 7,000 square meters, it showcases avant-garde installations and contemporary art. The space frequently features new artists and exhibits, providing visitors with fresh and inspiring experiences throughout the year. Notable past exhibitions include Anselm Kiefer's lead airplane sculptures, Carsten Holler's merry-go-rounds, and Superflex's three-seater swings.
We only had a short time, but in the end we decided to ditch our other plans and enjoy the museum fully. We loved it, it was a workday and not too crowded (except for one sensory exhibit we couldn’t wait for in the end), but we got to blow bubbles and make our very own robot as well as enjoy the other installations. We got tickets as part of the CPH card. Definitely a must see if you’re visiting Copenhagen!

Great museum! Not as easy to get to as many of the other Copenhagen attractions (you have to walk a long ways or take a bus), but worth the trek. There was some really brilliant art and fun activities. The perfect size museum because you can see everything but it doesn’t take all day. Close to a street food market that smelled really good! Helpful attendants. Good experience.

Very large space which gives room for the art installations to be enjoyed without crowds and with the time you need. Exhibition on AI and humans gives a lot to think about, with varied pieces (some more appealing than others. And some a bit too far fetched for my taste but it surely caters to some). If you don’t enjoy contemporary art, walk away as some rooms / installations are VERY experimental and abstract.

Location absolutely recommended. Service top. Unfortunately, most of the installations were meaningless to me personally. Soft robots was better than expected and I am not a fan of all modern art nowadays being about AI and whatever. Queuing for the light room thing was not really worth it. They should shorten the time spent in there to 5 min

Bit disappointed at the current exhibition and that this modern art museum has only one right now. For such a big building i was hoping for a lot more. But other than that, it was still interesting to see stuff and walk around.

Kunsthal Charlottenborg, originally a 1672 palace, has been transformed into a contemporary art museum that hosts a diverse range of exhibitions, performances, and concerts. Situated next to the charming Nyhavn Canal in Copenhagen, this baroque building is one of Northern Europe's largest spaces for contemporary art. The museum serves as a platform for emerging talents and established artists alike and plays an integral role in the city's vibrant art scene.
Phalli galore! Strange, disconcerting, and occasionally revolutionary installations were abound at the two exhibitions shown. Perhaps not suitable for children, those with nervous dispositions, or the sensorially sensitive. For better or for worse, this exhibition will stay with me.
Nicholas B — Google review
I was in Copenhagen just for the day, and I’m so glad I made time for Kunsthal Charlottenborg. Tucked just off the bustling Nyhavn area, this spot offers a refreshing change of pace—calm, creative, and quietly stunning. On the other side of the canal, you can admire the elegant Charlottenborg Palace itself, a beautifully preserved 17th-century residence originally built for the half-brother of King Christian V. Today, the palace is home to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the exhibition space—Kunsthal Charlottenborg—is a fascinating mix of old and new. The building’s architecture reflects Dutch Baroque style with Italian influences, which gives it an impressive and stately feel, while the contemporary art inside is fresh, bold, and thought-provoking. It’s a beautiful contrast: centuries-old walls housing boundary-pushing modern works. Whether you’re into visual art, design, or just love exploring less touristy cultural spots, this one’s well worth a visit. If you're walking the canal or exploring Nyhavn, it's an easy and rewarding detour.

Beautiful building, The interesting art exhibition,  Poetics of Encryption is interesting and thought provoking. A bonus was Francis Upritchard exhibition - fun, imaginative, creative creatures.

Modern art museum that has an exhibit devoted to AI. Aside from the rather abstract modern art, it has offers a nice view of the Nyhavn canal from its upper floor windows.

Contemporary art gallery in an old castle, also housing the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. I visited the art student's "Spring Exhibition."
Jan W — Google review
free entry every Wednesday from 1700h - 2000h wow, idk what else to say except that the exhibits felt like a fever dream.. each square had its own highlight, and I came in here not knowing what to expect, and each exhibit was a surprise of it’s own Really contemporary and this made me question things. Is this the true purpose of art?

Here to review its beautiful architectural designs. Came in during the Sunday market. There’s an outdoor bar and many stalls selling 2nd branded goods.

receptionist was very racist, i asked him if the upper floor is the only place they host work, since there were only 4-5 big rooms and only 4-5 projectors. instead of telling me they(him with other guy receptionist) laughed on my face, very rude behavior of them. I request authorities to take action on such poor behavior of receptionists. If they are not doing your job why are are there??

Booked a tour with Hello Captain which leaves from this Plads. Great experience. We had Johanna...what a delight but the other staff were super friendly. We booked the 2 hour tour. Perfect. As they state you get a tour and you do get to know your other "mates". Highly recommend. The Plads itself had lots of activity. We were there late August.

The café offers a standard selection of drinks including alcoholic options.
A nice and quiet place to rest in after you get tired from sightseeing. There is a good variety of drinks and a free toilet.

We visited the Café August B (Bournonville) located at the corner of the Foyer of the Old Scene of The Royal Theater in Copenhagen, sunday afternoon, March 17 2019 at about 3:15 PM, for a cup of of warm & strong coffee & a piece of chocolate caramel cake. It was a good cup of Americano coffee & the cake was delicious. We were waiting for the afternoon Ballet School performance & concert at 5 PM. We enjoyed the coffee break after having a big meal at the Royal Garden Chinese Restaurant. We broused around the cafe and looked at the display & decors beside the toilet or comfort rooms, specially the Ballet shoes. The female person serving in the coffee bar was kind & friendly. Highly recommendable.

Amazing place with ample space to sit and enjoy outdoors and indoors as well. The service was on spot and food was delicious.
Mayank K — Google review
The place has a decent ambiance . More like a student hub. The food experience is the most amateurish I have seen in Copenhagen. Half opened stalls, just one dish and no menu , extremely salty food. The bar was the only savior. Those days when you leave with a bad taste in your mouth - that you spent money on food which was not worth the price.
Amit L — Google review
The place has big potential with food market and workshop options. Location and atmosphere is nice, but food options are very limited. In several stands food was missing (vegan empanadas), bread for burgers, etc. Our kids had a hard time as even the hotdogs very spicy;(

I must say that this spot in Copenhagen has become one of my all-time favorite places to hang out with friends. The atmosphere is extremely chill and welcoming, which makes it the perfect place to unwind and catch up with loved ones over some good food. Speaking of food, I have to say that there’s variety with the food from the different small restaurants. And the best part? The prices are extremely reasonable, making it easy to enjoy a great meal without breaking the bank. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty burger or a healthy salad or a tasty pizza, this spot has got you covered. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a laid-back hangout spot in Copenhagen with good food, great prices, and a friendly atmosphere. You won't regret checking it out! 💯

Wonderful hidden oasis in the middle of Copenhagen. Cool trendy old buildings that have been renovated. Hang out with some friends and a cold beer or enjoy some great food with your family. A few different options of street food, wine and beer. Free to enter but it is not exactly cheap. I am definitely coming back!

Nice out of the way place and we will be back. Just had a nice cocktail this time but reason for only 3-stars is the fish place which seemed to cook food in old or very dirty oil. Lots of smoke and a burnt smell. But the atmosphere is very nice - so visit this place and let it be part of your experience of CPH

The samosas were Ok. The dhal was served cold. Amateur staff who did not know what they were doing. When we asked why it was served cold, the person working there said sorry and started heating a big pot of dhal (like 30-40 servings). After a few minutes she asked us to taste if it was hot enough. The answer was no, and after a while we tasted again. She used the SAME spoon as we just had in our mouth in the big pot of dhal. Hygiene and food handling a -1 and in general the staff in the food stalls were not invested in customer service or the food they were serving.

Not sure how you can manage to offer such a terrible food with lowest quality of ingredients with high prices in oversized portions. Pure processed unhealthy food. Terrible open air cinema. Don't buy tickets if the film is shown in "Himmel" - bad sound, noise from outside, distracting light, and even birds coming in. Worst cinema experience in 35 years!

We visited the Cinemateket rooftop terrace and absolutely loved it! The free access and the beautiful view over Rosenberg Slot made it a special experience. A real highlight was the delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows! Many thanks again to the lovely waitress for making our visit so memorable.

There is a new roof terrace that has an amazing view of Kongens Have. You can also watch movies on the roof (Himmelbio) - I'd recommend to dress as warmly as you can, as Denmark is windy (there are blankets available if needed). Also don't book too close to the back row as you might be right next to a speaker and get unbalanced sound - if it's not full you can move seats though. Incidentally my phone died and I couldn't show my digital ticket but the guy on the front desk kindly printed my ticket for me. Wonderful place!

It's really large, well located and ideal for creating a good vibe. We went for a stand up comedy show and a downside was that the seats are not comfortable for a long show where you need to stay seated.

What an amazing venue! My first concert at Royal Arena was truly amazing. I am in awe at how well organized the venue is. Went to see Tate McRae on the 30th of May and I’m still mesmerised… The arena itself was pretty organised, ticket control etc went so fast The bar or whatever you call it is a little bit expensive but probably for Danes it’s normal prices so yeah
Billy — Google review
Extremely disappointing and unfair experience. We came straight after work with our backpacks and were denied entry because they said our bags were “too large” — even though there is a storage area inside the venue. After finally finding a place to store our bags and coming back, we saw a Danish woman entering with a backpack about the same size as ours. Security just took a quick look inside and let her through without any issue. This is completely unacceptable and feels like racial discrimination. Terrible experience — we’ll never come back to this venue again.
Jiawei Z — Google review
Good multipurpose arena, with great presence, with good acoustics and lighting. Local parking, or at front or nearby. The subway and the bus stop are a little far away, 3 blocks, something to consider with footwear and clothing when going to an event here with the Denmark's weather. Relatively comfortable seats, with modern facilities, very clean and wide hallways. Clean, modern and well-equipped bathrooms. Although you will surely have to queue and wait to enter. Variety regarding food and drinks. The central bar, in its internal part, has a very good view of the stage. In all areas there are personnel and security very willing to serve.

Vega has a nice selection but the fact that visitors are FORCED to leave their jackets for 30kr is not fair. If it's mandatory due to fire reason (🤣), then include it in the price maybe? Oh but you seem to make good use of hidden fees, adding 10kr on the price that "includes fees". Compared to any other like-sized venue, Vega really take advantages of its customers.

Exhibition and trade center
The Forum Copenhagen is a large concert hall in the centre of Copenhagen that has been used for a range of events from concerts, theatre and dance performances to conferences and exhibitions. The building was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Jørn Utzon and Philip Johnson and opened in 1995.
I visited the venue for the blast fall final 2024. The acoustics and the screens were amazing! The crowd was loud and was very much alive. The pricing was very expensive and food and beverages were limited. The toilets were okay, but also not many. The smoking area is big and a great place to meet people. Finally, the security was rude.

We went here for the KREA fair. The location is super close by metro and bus stations, and it can be challenging to find a free parking spot either for bike or car. Very limited options for refreshments, some food carts are parked outside the venue and again they have just some hot dogs or coffee. Usually there is a wardrobe at the entrance were you can leave your clothes in exchange for a fee (around 30 DKK). People do smoke just in front of the main entrance which becomes unpleasant since all the smoke gets inside.

Just went along to the "Krea" exhibition - but it was actually quite nice😎

I was here for the concerts of Heilung and Eivør. The place doesn't have chairs so it was a standing concert. It also doesn't have different levels so it's all flat, and if you are a short person I recommend you come early to get a place in the front. Nevertheless the place had good sound and good visibility. They sold beer inside and it was ok. They also had a platform to the left of the stage for wheelchair users. There were also big coat racks to the back and a place for a merchandise shop. The toilets where clean even though there's not a lot of them. The entrance to the place was also quite fast, they had security people checking your bags and tickets. I recommend NOT to come by car here as the parking options are extremely reduced around the venue, so please reconsider and come with the tube or by bike instead.

Really a forum to accommodate the Copenhagen crowd. A perfect location to see the crowd. I was there for a Hans Zimmer Concert. A good view from the last row of the hall. Well engineered for the perfect acoustics and the setting. Preferred location for any event.

A great arena for big live events! Our choir performed together with Ennio Morricone and a big orchestra here. Staff was polite. The catering was OUTSTANDING with fresh food for all, including great options for vegans and the gluten sensitive (me). Acoustics of this big hall can be made sound great by a skilled sound engineering team.

The Amager Bio is a 1000-capacity live music venue that regularly hosts concerts from hard-core metal to pop. The venue has a unique layout, with 600 seats and 100 standing room, so it's perfect for large events. Unfortunately, the music on the posters often isn't up to par, so if you're looking for something more eclectic or experimental, GOSS might be a better option.
Much better sound than other similarly sized venues in Copenhagen, friendlier staff, always quality events

It's a nice place that isn't too big. So a cozy feel. The beer and water was somewhat expensive, and the beer tasted strangely. Like it was stale and old. The security is quite nice, but they rarely do anything about troublemakers near the stage. I have enjoyed the concerts i have been to there so far.

It's a former cinema converted into a concert venue. It's alright, except when exiting, the hall becomes way too crowded, so it takes a long time to exit after a concert

A wonderful historic place, with amazing events. There is a garderobe and a bar to get snacks and drinks. The inside aquarium is a huge attraction for children and seniors equally. When buying the tickets it's recommended to avoid the top balcony because few building polls are positioned straight in the middle and minimise the view. It will be nice if Tivoli administration will add a remark about this on their website to be known when people buy their tickets online.
Laura M — Google review
I enjoy the venue more for the location and the excellent shows put in there, than for the facilities themselves. Positives: -The lobby is amazing, owing to the gigantic reef aquarium! You never get bored waiting before shows or during intermission. -Plentiful, clean bathrooms. Negatives: -Leg room on the balcony. Haven't experienced this problem so much when seated on the floor rows.

Beautifully decorated for Halloween. I see they put in a lot of effort for this. Really felt the Halloween vibes. However, it's too expensive. There is entrance fee close to 200dkk, and you need to buy the ride ticket to even ride. Sorry, for broke student like me, I don't have any cash reserves to spend here. But if you are wealthy, and have worked your life off to give your kids a good experience, sure.

Fantastic place. It was great they chose it for the conference I attended however, unfortunately the games were all on hold while Tivoli garden was under huge preparations for the Halloween. There are many restaurants and coffee shops inside yet most were closed during the time I visited. The lecture halls were very clean, convenient seats and its size was quite appropriate. Bathrooms were clean and good except for insufficient tissues and trash cans. Tivli is in the city of Copenhagen and the whole place around it was full of shops, cafes and restaurents along with variety of available transportation services

Kayak Bar is a vibrant spot offering a simple menu, a deck by the river, and live entertainment. Situated right on the water between The National Bank, Borsen, and Christiansborg in Copenhagen, it provides an idyllic setting for a floating beach, cafe, and bar experience. Visitors can rent kayaks to explore the canals or simply relax in beach chairs. Guided kayaking tours are available as well.
I stumbled upon this bar-restaurant by chance, drawn in by its beautiful location right on the canal — and it turned out to be the perfect choice. I ordered a cocktail and some fries: simple, but made with care, crispy and flavorful, ideal for a chill moment by the water. The cocktail? Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and beautifully served — one of the best I’ve had lately! The staff was friendly and welcoming, the vibe was relaxed yet full of life, with a truly authentic and cozy atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease, whether you’re just passing by or starting your evening. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended! 🙌🍸🍟

We had a great experience at Kayak Bar today! We ordered chicken sticks and fries for our little one — they were perfectly crispy and delicious. The burger we had was absolutely spot-on, juicy and full of flavor, and it paired amazingly with the crispy fries. The drinks were refreshing, and the overall atmosphere at this location is just perfect. Big thanks to the team for the great food, drinks, and such a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy. We’ll definitely be back!

14-07-2025 I had an amazing experience from start to finish after four years. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh ingredients, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Small menu but had a great balance of creativity and comfort for all. The service was equally impressive. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. What stood out most was how knowledgeable they were—not just about the menu, but about the ingredients, pairings techniques. You can tell they’re passionate and really know their stuff. It’s rare to find such a great combination with great atmosphere of this in one place. Highly recommended—we'll definitely be back! Next time again with all our family. Kayak Bar you are so lucky to get this kind and really helpful chef ever i meet nice to see him again after 4 years same smile always in his face what a great personality he has 🙏my 71 years old dad really impressed with him.

Honestly, the drinks are overly expensive compared to the rest of Copenhagen and other bars like it, and the food is worse in quality than most fast food places. You could go to McDonald’s and get a better burger and fries. Service can also be lacking. And I was forced to give 1 star, but Kayak only deserves it for the location.

Not worth it for dining. - Small portions - Potatoes were still raw - Chips okay but the bite not great - Beef was had some pieces of fat - Everything was served semi cold - Self service (which is okay but not for this price) Overall the taste was okay, but just not the quality you should expect. Only pro is the music and location, we came because of the vibe but for this quality would not recommend this place to eat.. Probably fine for a drink and some snacks.

K.B. Hallen has recently reopened after a fire and visitors are impressed with its wonderful atmosphere. However, some logistical issues have been noted, such as the challenging layout of the wardrobe in the basement. Despite this, the staff is described as super nice and efficient. The arena's sound quality has received mixed reviews, with some suggesting that it needs better sound dampening. On a positive note, visitors have found it to be an aesthetically pleasing venue that suited performances well.

Out-of-this-world aesthetically and auditively beautiful concert with Conan Gray. KB Hallen really suited his set and performance well, also the overall service and security was great and quick responses for the numerous people who unfortunately fainted or collapsed during the concert. Overall the the concert was a very special experience that I will treasure for a long time, though if I have to give any critique, then it was abit annoying not being able to see the artist well in some songs when you were at the very front. Also the sound could have been better overall, I'd say that VEGA or Forum has abit better soundscape for this kind of concerts.

Specialty coffee served like no other places in the entire Europe. The coffee is first class. They usually have different beans to choose from but regardless of what you my choose you can rest assured that the coffee is top notch. They serve pour over and every cup is brewed individually by the barista. They also serve espresso and espresso based drinks. The coffee they serve is light roasted which means that the inherent flavors and quality of the beans are highlighted and not burnt away to hide the flaws like many big commercial coffee roasters do. Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable about coffee. Very nice atmosphere where you can sit on design furniture from Finn Juhl while sipping on your coffee.

The newly named København Syd, formerly known as Copenhagen South station, is undergoing rapid development to become a major transfer hub. Set to introduce metro services in 2024, the station will boast a spacious underground transfer level serving as the primary access point for international, regional, and local railway and metro lines. Additionally, it aims to accommodate buses, cars, and potentially light rail.
New Transfer Hub: Now it is called Copenhagen South station. Developments are going on high speed. Metro service is going to start in 2024. Copenhagen South will feature a large, open transfer level below ground that will provide one entry point to future international, regional and local railway and metro lines as well as buses, cars and possibly light rail, while offering travellers easy access from the surroundings districts. Travellers will be able to transfer with dry shoes, shielded from the weather, in safe and well-lit surroundings boasting plenty of views to the sky and with no infinite tunnel passages.
Harvinder S — Google review
The design of this station is outrageous, confusing and exhausting!! U have to walk far to transfer, walk 4 flights of stairs at least and God save u if u reached the wrong perron! The signs r easy to misinterprete and it goes both 4 electronic and hanging signs. Be aware that 11 and 12 is far from the station building, that 1 and 2 have lots of stairs and that these r for the S-trains only. Intercity is perron 24 and so on 🫥
Jeanette “ — Google review
You must add at least five minutes to your travel plan if you are going to use this station because the layout is absolutely confusing. Very dirty station, the elevators are disgusting. It is been like this for over four months and it does not seem it will change any time soon, which is sad when trying to encourage people to use public transport more often than the personal vehicle. God have mercy if you have a heavy piece of luggage and the elevators do not work. There is only one elevator per platform and at rush hours is constantly busy or broken. So add at least 10 minutes to your travel plan if you have any heavy items because you might have to carry them up the stairs or sit in queue for the elevator.
Sarivan M — Google review
It's called København Syd now :-)... It is messy right now but it's going to be great... Trains both high and low... Nice architecture with soft rounded curves.
David S — Google review
The absolute worst of train stations in Denmark and probably beyond. Distance from the bridge coming from s-train to regional has no timetables or any information about what train is arriving nearby. You have to walk to either the underpass or the roadbridge in either end of the almost half a kilometre long platform to see what trains are coming in and when your train arrives there's no saying where it is going to stop, so get ready to run 'cus it'll only wait 30 seconds and gladly leave you behind. If you need to refill "rejsekort" or buy tickets, good luck as there's only rejsekort and ticket machines at the s-train platforms, made even more curious when you'd expect the people on regional and intercity trains to be the ones who especially needs to buy tickets. If you are charging between s-train lines add 5-10 minutes to your journey trying to figure out the layout of the station and walking dusins of flights of stairs and most likely back and forth a couple of times. There's absolutely no information anywhere, no signage and why they feel the platform has to connect to a roadbridge with no parking nearby and thereby making the platform ridiculously long and make passengers loose any sense of where the train stops is beyond me. This is a station made to connect all the yet-to-be-built overpriced apartments nearby and in the process they have made any travel through this station a living hell that makes you wish to drop travelling all together.
Floedekage F — Google review
This station gets more and more horrible and confusing every time I use it. Signs are not clear at all. The elevator to track 23&24 was not working, so had to carry barnevogn and the baby up for 5 staircases… missed the train , outrageous!
Elena S — Google review
Quite an ugly station. Also it's hard to access, doesn't even have a 7-11 and in an unpleasant area. Also the name of the station gives no indication of where it is because Ny Ellebjerg isn't even a place. Facilities aren't great either. What I will say is that it gets good service from S tog and the national trains can go as far as Jutland.

Then a whole damn swing that you can ride right next to the main stage for FREE🤯!!! Really so incredibly nice in there and there is absolutely nothing you can complain about about the festival area. And I'm only on day 2 of 3!!!

(Translated by Google) Poppy, indifferent and boring. As a sad and noisy attempt to make a remake of 'sensation white' which again only appeals to a mainstream audience.. Save the money, stick to Distortion. (Original) Poppet, ligegyldigt og kedsommeligt. Som et sørgeligt og larmende forsøg på at lave et remake af 'sensation white' der igen kun appellerer til et mainstream publikum.. Spar pengene, hold jer til Distortion.
