Seafood restaurant
Poke bar
Ono Seafood is a popular no-frills eatery known for its variety of ahi poke and laid-back atmosphere. The owner, Judy Samuka, is renowned for making some of the best poke on the island. The menu offers classic local favorites with made-to-order poke featuring buttery soft ahi and tender tako flavored with various options like shoyu, miso, sea salt, or wasabi.
The guy is very friendly. The place has outdoor seats. He gives you suggestions on how to create your bowl. There is a lot of fish and it is really fresh. I have tried wasabi ahi and it was superb. Recommended.

Nice Poke place! We had the tuna poke. They serve you the food right away. We really liked it! Super fresh and excellent seasoning Highly recommend!
Alvaro M — Google review
Just another POSITIVE REVIEW! Definitely come through for some fresh poke! Only downside is small parking lot & small seating area! But you should just take it to go and take it to the beach !! My boyfriend and I got spicy salmon and Hawaiian style ahi! 10/10 !
Ariel S — Google review
I ordered the Shoyu Tuna and Spicy Salmon combo poke, it is fresh and tasty. There's not a lot of sitting area, they have 2 benches by the parking lot. It's best for take out and enjoy at the beach.
Carl W — Google review
This was our poke stop on Hawaii trip and we had selected this spot based on the high rating that this spot enjoys on Google. We had the Spicy Ahi and the Shoyu Ahi. The Spicy Ahi was unfortunately bland and lacked any spice. On the other hand, the Shoyu Ahi was flavorful and had a kick to it. The quantity was pretty good for the two of us. Seating is limited and is outdoors. Overall, not bad but maybe we should have skipped the Spicy Ahi.
Ajay S — Google review
One of the best poke spots on the island. The parking lot is tight and often busy, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the warm rice made each bite even better. We ordered two bowls:Shoyu Tako and Shoyu Ahi with furikake in one, Hawaiian Tako and Shoyu Ahi with furikake in the other, plus a side of Shoyu Salmon. Every bite was flavorful and authentic, high-quality poke that really stands out.
Allen L — Google review
Tiny mom and pop locals shop serving fresh ahi poke. Amazing quality fish. Not a ton of outdoor seating and no indoor seating (order only), also basically zero parking
Justin D — Google review
Really enjoyed my poke here! Tasted super fresh and was very filling!! They had fresh salmon so I got a combo of half salmon half tuna ut was GOOD. I came around 2pm on a Tuesday and luckily there was no line and I was able to grab a seat on the dining tables outside :) wish there was a bit more space outside, But I do get the appeal of a mainly takeout spot

Royal Lobster is a hidden gem that has redefined the concept of lobster rolls. Located in Hawaii, it offers a unique take on this classic dish, with its flaky and buttery brioche bun perfectly complementing the tender and slightly sweet lobster. The addition of aioli further enhances the flavor profile, making it a must-try for seafood enthusiasts. Despite its small size, the restaurant provides excellent service and top-notch food.
Amazing lobster rolls. The brioche bun is buttery and there’s a generous amount of lobster on the rolls. The lobster roll comes with a small coleslaw, potato chips & delicious sauce on the side. Fantastic service too. We will definitely return for another meal.
GetUsThereAlready — Google review
Absolutely loved Royal Lobster. No fuss no frills just awesome food and drinks. The lobster roll is jam packed with tasty fresh lobster and the lobster salad was great as well. They also had a really nice bottle of Sauvignon blanc.
Jeff B — Google review
This place has my heart. Total hole in the wall and subtly located in the lower level of a shopping plaza. The lobster is very fresh and plump. Comes with a size of chips, coleslaw, lemon squeeze and dipping sauce. Service was friendly and the food was served quickly.
Sarah — Google review
Their lobster roll is the best I’ve ever had! The lobster itself is super fresh and the lightly toasted brioche was buttery and soft. Don’t be fooled by the mall food court location — this place is a hidden gem. I ordered the 5 oz, but next time I’m definitely going for the 7 oz. Totally worth the price!
Dee L — Google review
I ordered a big size (7oz) lobster roll which cost 56+. It tasted apparently very fresh but somehow some portion was a bit chewy or over cooked. I can only give no more than 3 stars with this extremely pricey lobster roll ever at similar stores based on the size I ordered, the exact portion I got and the quality it had. Just wanna have a try just once. The chips were really crunchy but obviously oily. And it is really really a pity that the brioche was not charcoaled or warmed for even a bit, brioche can't go wrong, but its brioche was very dried. Btw, the parking is so uneasy.
Nicole W — Google review
Good lobster roll. I prefer the butter lobster over the mayonnaise any day. The garlic aoili was delicious. I ordered the 5 oz lobster roll. Poured all the butter and aoili over the top of it and let the mess begin. I would prefer they fry the lobster in butter first before they serve it. Nothing beats a steaming hot and buttery lobster roll. 🤤 I just wished it didn't cost a kidney to eat. 🤣 4.5 stars from a very picky eater.
Ryan D — Google review
May2025 No frills but freshly served lobster mainly rolls that is a variation of the Connecticut style as it is served cold. Servings are ample Service is counter style Limited seating only Communal toilet Ideal for quick eats or takeaways and very small groups
Oliver P — Google review
This place serves up lobster rolls at different price points according to the amount of lobster in their rolls. I opted for the 5 oz lobster roll which came to around 47 us. It came with delicious chips, Cole slaw, and a sauce that complimented everything with it. It was great. The lobster was prepared well and wasn’t rubbery it was good/ perfect. This would probably be the best lobster roll in the area. I’d recommend this place if you’re craving lobster rolls.

Nestled right by the shimmering shores of Waikiki Beach, Hula Grill Waikiki is a delightful plantation-style eatery that offers an inviting atmosphere for both locals and visitors. Situated on the second floor of the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel, this charming venue provides stunning views of Diamond Head and breathtaking sunsets. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely breakfast featuring fluffy pineapple pancakes or a sumptuous dinner showcasing fresh regional seafood and prime steaks, Hula Grill has something to satisfy every palate.
Wonderful restaurant with a fantastic view of the beach and Diamond Head. We did happy hour and had a couple of appetizers and salads with fish. The prices were reasonable and the staff was courteous and helpful. Lunch was quite good. Beautiful view and great food.
Dodd B — Google review
Given that I'm from Texas, I'm not used to birds flying around restaurants and attempting to eat off my plate, so that made me uncomfortable. The food was overly priced but expected since it's Hawaii. The avocado toast and acai bowl were great. The rest of the food we got was decent. They have great views and good customer service.
Octavia W — Google review
Paco was our server and he was awesome. He was very accommodating with our nut allergies and had great recommendations on what we can eat to avoid cross contamination. We had the fish chips which was great, not oily, perfect about of batter. Chicken taco was great, meat was flavorful and juicy. View of the restaurant is stunning over looking Waikiki beach. I for the first time had coconut martini and it did not disappoint. This combination can be dangerous.Restaurant is clean. While enjoy our late lunch we heard Sirens alerting us of a tsunami, of course we all panicked and Paco did a great job calming all the guest and ensuring everything will be fine and to enjoy lunch. Overall great experience here.
Reetu P — Google review
Great concept but missed the execution. My seafood coconut chowder had excellent flavors but everything was slightly below temperature. My husband ordered the fish special and his meal was warm, not hot. But again, the flavors were fantastic. Not sure whether the servers or the kitchen are the cause, but I’m leaning toward the kitchen. Pouring hot coconut broth over cold fish makes everything just warm. Perhaps it’s me but I like my hot food to be hot!
Laura P — Google review
To check off another top Yelp ranked restaurant, my wife and I visited Hula Grill in Waikiki for lunch, and it was an absolute delight! Perched on the second floor above Duke’s Waikiki, the restaurant radiates true Hawaiian charm with live music and a lively bar that creates a perfect balance of relaxed and vibrant energy. We were seated near the balcony, soaking in a stunning view of Waikiki Beach with a refreshing ocean breeze. The atmosphere was everything you’d hope for in an island dining experience—laid-back, welcoming, and full of aloha spirit. The food was the highlight of our visit. We tried the Korean spicy fried chicken, and it was hands-down the best we’ve ever tasted—sorry, LA Koreatown, this one’s unbeatable! Crispy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of spice, it was a dish we’ll be craving for weeks. When the staff learned it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a complimentary slice of their famous hula cake, a rich and tropical dessert that was the perfect finishing touch. That thoughtful gesture made the meal even more special. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home without ever being overbearing. We heard evenings can get crowded since Hula Grill is one of Waikiki’s most popular spots, but our lunchtime visit was just right—bustling yet comfortable. The entire experience made our anniversary truly memorable, and we’re already excited to return. Huge thanks to Hula Grill for such an unforgettable day!
Regis K — Google review
We came here for breakfast. Got a great seat with great views. Service was very attentive and friendly. The food was totally delicious. I highly recommend making a reservation. We went around 8:45am on a Monday (had a reservation at 9:00am) and it was already starting to get very busy.
LY T — Google review
Special place in my heart for the Hula Grill! The manager, Evan, truly stood out! He was not only incredibly kind and welcoming, but also very attentive throughout my visit. It’s rare to see a manager so present and involved in creating a great experience for guests. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. Bailey, the server, was just as amazing, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout the entire meal. I’m so grateful for the care and hospitality from both Evan and Bailey. Their kindness made my time at Hula Grill truly memorable. The food was outstanding and so fresh, truly one of the best Caesar salads I’ve ever had! The view is amazing and They have live music, what else can you ask for? I’m already looking forward to coming back. Thank you again!
Madison — Google review
The food was shocking. I had a salad which hardly had any taste. We also got a chicken meal which was half burnt and very dry. Didn’t end up finishing the food. Better off going to dukes for better food and atmosphere!

Hawaiian restaurant
Roy's Waikiki is a high-end restaurant chain that offers a contemporary setting and serves Hawaiian fusion cuisine created by renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi. With over three decades of culinary excellence, the restaurant blends fresh local ingredients with bold flavors from Asia and the Pacific. The elegant dining room and exceptional service add sophistication to the dining experience while maintaining a tropical ambiance.
Not going to lie - this was a really expensive meal. By leaps and bounds the priciest of our time in Oahu. BUT its one of the few expensive restaurants I've dined at that are worth the price for some of their dishes. I had 4 favorites: The Misoyaki Butterfish was superb - both flaky and flavorful! The Blue Crab Dynamite Fish Tempura Lobster knocked it out of the park as well with the amazing Shallot & Mushroom Risotto at the bottom. Ugh so good. I wish I could have ordered more of that risotto on the side! The Frying Dragon Roll was a wonderful crunchy treat with the wasabi butter adding just the right level of kick to start off the meal. The Garlic Parmesan Jumbo Black Tiger Shrimp was pretty epic as well. My family had a little debate over whether the Shrimp or the Lump Crab Ravioli made the dish (I argued for the Ravioli). Bit of Bad: If you check any of my other reviews, its not hard to tell that I LOVE dessert. Typically always leave space for it and did here at Roy's Waikiki. We tried the Signature Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and the Pandan Panna Cotta special they had at the time. And while the Pandan Panna Cotta was bright, light, and refreshing, the two Hot Desserts were fairly major letdowns. Both tasted just below average and at double the price I've paid anywhere else. I'd skip and get dessert elsewhere if you still have the space after the rest of the amazing meal you'll have at Roy's Waikiki.

What can be said about this place? Are you looking for a beautiful night out with your spouse? Are you celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or graduation? Are you looking for an absolutely amazing table side service? From the moment you walk in, you can feel the level of professionalism and pride everyone takes in working here. The food is absolutely delicious, the drinks are strong, and the service is OUT of this world. The price is FULLY justified here, but you will be hard pressed to find a better level of attention to detail at any other place on the Island. Josh was absolutely fantastic as well.

Overall experience was very good. Several of us got the short ribs but one of us got one that was much tougher and tasted a bit different so make sure to let the staff know if you experience any inconsistencies. The rest of the meal had no issues. The outdoor patio area is nice but just a view of the street with the random loud car driving by now and then.
Tim C — Google review
A+ all the way, from wait staff to food and drink. The waitstaff really know their stuff and can answer any question about the food and what's included. The menu is vast and has so many good options. We went for our anniversary and then, while at the table, booked a reservation for three nights later. We wanted to come back. The macadamia nut-encrusted fish (catch of the day, so it may change) was beyond amazing. The short ribs were spectacular, and their sushi is some of the best I have tasted. 100% recommend Roys. ps.. Chocolate Lava Cake w/Vanilla Ice Cream - WOW, just freaking amazing, gotta try it, we had it 2x (one is enough for two people)
Craig S — Google review
High end restaurant but well worth the dinner. Expect to pay about $50 per person depending on what you get. The price is high but it is well worth it. There are plenty of tables but only a few you have a party of 6 or more so be ready to wait if you have a large party. If you have less, you can probably get a table but doesn't hurt to make reservations. The waiters here are very attentive and my water glass or beer glass was never empty. Be aware some of the main courses here do take time but once I tasted my food it was good. It also wasn't one of those restaurants with not enough to eat. I was definitely full after my meal and I enjoyed all of it. I got the deluxe meal which came with a variety of different food so good for if you can't decide this was a good go to. Overall, the atmosphere here is great for a date, for family, for a get together with friends, or just dinning alone too. Well worth your $$$ to spend on the high end food. You'll come out full.
Jonathan K — Google review
This is the most amazing meal I’ve had in my life. Drinks were great! We had the canoe sampler appetizer and everything on it was delicious. Fish entrees were also so good. Peanut butter crunch bar for dessert. Servers very attentive. 10/10 on the whole experience. I have absolutely zero complaints!
Andrea L — Google review
Had an amazing experience for my family dinner time with my toddler baby. The Sushi rolls were fantastic as it tasted so fresh, considered to be the best sushi I ever have in Hawaii and the staffs were very friendly and welcoming. They even offer a free appetizer for my small kid. Highly recommended for a lovely happy dinner

The venue features beautiful botanical gardens and an open-air Tahitian Chapel, providing dreamy backdrops for intimate ceremonies. Couples can choose from various wedding packages, ranging from minimalist options to comprehensive packages with added services like a ceremony musician and wedding planner.
The food was delicious our party ordered Coconut Shrimp, Prime rib, Steak and Salmon. The service was very good. We had a ten minute wait to be seated. The restaurant opens at 4pm and closes at 9pm. We arrived and got in line at 3:20. There is beautiful view from every table. The garden downstairs is very green with beautiful flowers and trees around it. This area would be lovely for an event.
David R — Google review
We went here at 430 pm on a Friday as a couple and got seated within 30 minutes. Walking in there was a weird smell like years-old mildew under the carpets. It was unbearable. Luckily we got sat on the outside part of the restaurant. The bread and appetizers were good, nothing special though. The crab dip tasted mostly like cream cheese. Both entrees were flavorless. I had the lamb papardelle and the sauce on it was just some oil. I needed a few hefty pinches of salt on top of the dish to get and semblance of flavor out of it. The roasted chicken was juicy at least, but still not an ounce of seasoning, luckily the pineapple and veggies with it had flavor. Finally, the drinks were tasty, but that is because they were mostly mixer/juice/sugar. For as expensive as they were I would expect more alcohol in them. I would save your time, money, and nostrils by going somewhere else.

Haleiwa Joe’s at Haiku Gardens is truly a gem! The food is outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The views overlooking the gardens and mountains are breathtaking, making the whole experience unforgettable. The staff provides excellent customer service, always friendly and attentive, which really adds to the warm atmosphere. The only downside is the wait time for seating, but once you’re in, it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect mix of great food, stunning scenery, and top-notch service!

This place was a gem in the jungle. I went there with a group of 6 on a weeknight. We only waited maybe 30 min before we were seated in a table. In the mean time we were able to get served drinks by a bar top table. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and was very easy to have a conversation, as it wasn't too loud. I ordered the Ceviche and the table side steak dish with a berry creme brulee desert. The table side steak with gravy smelled and tasted amazing. It was cooked a perfect med-rare per my request. The ceviche was fresh and delicious and the creme brulee had a great flavor with a nice crust. To top it all off the view and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this place.

What an amazing experience. We came early because they don't take reservations. Got here at 3:20 on a Saturday because they open at 4. We were seated in the first group as soon as they opened. Ambience and scenery is amazing! Service top notch and the food was exquisite! I had the pork Loin special and the wife had the grilled blue marlin special. Perfect cook on both. Cocktails were great. I will definitely be back for the prime rib. The price turned me off at $74.95 until I saw it come out. The cut is between 2 and 3 pounds per serving! It was enormous! The restaurant is about a half hour drive from Honolulu, so very pleasant experience all around. Don't sleep on this one!
Alex A — Google review
Wow, between this and the North Shore restaurant, this place definitely has the better atmosphere and view. The menu is almost the same, but the garden and mountain backdrop make the experience extra special. They don’t take reservations, so it’s best to arrive early. I also liked that they had a separate seating area for appetizers and drinks while we waited, which was a nice touch since the wait for a group was pretty long.
V N — Google review
I love my prime rib steak cooked exactly how I want it — perfectly done and flavorful! The portion is huge, so I definitely recommend sharing it with someone unless you’re really hungry and not ordering anything else. We came for dinner, so unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the garden view, but I’d love to come back again before dusk to experience it. Overall, great food and worth returning for!
Mies N — Google review
Haleiwa Joe’s in Haiku is a beautiful spot surrounded by lush greenery—it feels like you're dining right in the middle of a tropical garden. The views alone make it worth the visit, especially around sunset. The food is excellent. The steak is a good size and cooked just right, and the seafood is fresh and flavorful. Drinks are strong and tasty, and the staff is friendly and attentive even when it's packed. It does get busy, so getting there early is a good idea since they don’t take reservations. While you wait, you can walk around the garden and enjoy the scenery. Great place for a relaxed dinner with friends and family.

5 course dinner was absolutely amazing ! Nestor our waiter was so nice and knowledgeable on everything on the menu and wine and drinks ! Everyone on the waiting staff was so attentive and you can’t beat the view … Best anniversary celebratory dinner we’ve ever had !

Love this place. Visit each summer for the ice teas and cheese platter. Everything is really good though. Ambiance and service are all top notch. Food is reasonably priced.

Great evening! We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each of the 5 courses you have between 3-5 options to choose from. We tried our best to get two different options and then share. Best dishes IMO - crap soup (first course), mushroom risotto (3rd course), steak (4th course).

Our hostess Janal and Jen were super friendly and warm. Our server Jan was knowledgeable of the menu and made us feel special. It was great to meet Maddison the Manager during our experience. We saw that she was very attentive and ensured our dinner was to our satisfaction. The five course menu had awesome options and unique flavors! Mahalo for a wonderful experience!

Visited August of 2022. The steak/short rib was very good, my wife had the fish and also very good. The truffle mashed is probably one of the best I’ve had, highly recommend ordering it. Overall very good food with great location and atmosphere. A very great restaurant, probably in our top 3 in waikiki. I reserved a couple months in advance and were able to get outdoor seating. They had custom menus with our names on it when we arrived which was a bonus. Food is delicious here and the service was on point when we visited. I believe price was around $200 - $300, with wine pairing, if I can remember.

We had a fantastic dinner. Every course was delicious. The kitchen worked diligently to modify the food preparation to accommodate our allergies. The wine pairing was well planned to accompany our meal. The location is just a few feet from the Waikiki with beautiful views of the sunset. Finally, the wait service was exceptional. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients in the various courses. Not a cheap restaurant but well worth the cost.

Overall, the experience at Azure was an amazing culinary adventure. Each dish was expertly executed with complex depth of flavors and textures. The service was outstanding. Our server, David knew each menu item and was able to answer any questions (there were many ingredients we were unfamiliar with) and describe them with a special kind of passion for the culinary arts. The drinks were the same. Highly recommend the Rolling Stone. Our only complaint was about the ambiance. While it is a very nice beachfront location, there were people playing frisbee 20 feet from us. The restaurant next door is much louder, with no sound barrier—the only separation between the two restaurants are some waist high planters. We understand much of this is outside of Azure’s control, but these details took away from the overall experience we expected out of this caliber of restaurant.

You truly can’t beat the view or atmosphere at this location. The food was unfortunately underwhelming, for the prices you will pay you would anticipate someting extraordinary. The dessert was delicious and well worth the wait. Excellent spot for a date night solely for the atmosphere.

Perched atop a 19-story building in the heart of Waikiki, SKY Waikiki Raw & Bar is a popular open-air lounge offering stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu skyline. This rooftop destination combines a bar, restaurant, and nightclub experience, providing an array of refreshing drinks, seafood dishes, and upscale entertainment.
One of the best spots to hit during happy hour. Fresh oysters, great views, needs work on umbrellas from the sun, but they provided something at least. Service was above par, ambience great. Would go again.

We wanted to check out Sky Waikīkī for the views and raw bar. We walked in after some shopping and were told by the host that high-top tables were available without a reservation. After being seated, we waited for over 30 minutes without a single waiter coming by. I went to the bar to order, but the bartender told me she couldn't serve tables and that a waiter would have to help us. I explained that we had been waiting for 30 minutes, but she still wouldn't help. I then found the host, who told me the table actually required a reservation something that could have been cleared up at the very beginning. Once a waiter finally arrived, the service improved greatly, but the initial confusion and lack of service were very frustrating.

Was ok. Nothing wow about it. When i went to pay. The machine "froze" so that i could not take away the automated 25%tip. I would have gladly tiped that even though i would like to get the option to not do so. And frankly..they did not deserve that tip. The drinks were ok and the food was 🤷‍♀️ The view is not the best bcz of all the hotels blocking the view. You dont get to see much of a sunset sadly 😓 but hey check it out! The view we got was pretty nice considering 😊

Terrible place. There was an item in the Menu named seafood plate. It said it is for four people but it was maybe only for two. Two poke bowls in it were poke cups not bowls. At the end of pur time, we saw two giant cockroaches. I told the waiter and he was like yea we have cockroaches in Hawaii like it is normal to charge people 120 for seafood platter and let cockroaches play with their food. And then he was like we are closing in three minutes and I will give you a discount on your food. I kind of felt insulted because my experience was ruined with cockroaches giving me a discount is not going to change that. And he was not even sorry like its my fault I am not used to cockroaches in food. PLEASE DO NOT NORMALIZE COCKROACHES . BTW, the seafood platter had lobster in it on the menu but when they brought it it did not have the lobster. **update: the manager contacted me and apologized. He also refunded the full amount of our order which was incomplete. I believe this shows respect and fairness. Thank you!

Sky Waikiki is such a fun experience! The rooftop bar’s live music and friendly service are eclipsed only by the amazing views of Kalakaua Avenue and Waikiki Beach. We got a table on the edge with great views and ordered cocktails and appetizers. Did not try any of the raw menu items, but maybe next time! Highly recommend this fun little spot.

Sky Waikīkī Raw & Bar — your oysters-and-Mai-Tai moment above the city. 🌆🦪🍹 This is not just dinner — this is a vibe. You’re sitting high above Waikīkī, city lights below, breeze in your hair, and a cold Mai Tai in hand. The kind of place where you feel like the main character… or at least like you should be. I came here for the oysters — fresh, smooth, ocean in a shell. Add a couple of zesty sauces, sip your drink, and forget for a second that you’re on planet Earth. They also offer other raw bar options and small bites, but honestly — I came for that cocktail-oyster energy and they delivered. 📍Perfect for a late afternoon chill or an elevated evening escape. Not cheap, not crowded, just exactly what you need when you want to pause and savor Hawaii from above. — Ilya #CyborgRecommends #SkyWaikiki #OystersAndVibes #MaiTaiMood #HonoluluViews #CyborgOnTour

Located on the 36th floor of the Ala Moana Hotel, The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood is a top-notch fine-dining restaurant offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. With an elegant ambiance featuring white tablecloths and candle-lit tables, it's an ideal spot for a romantic date night. While renowned for its prime steaks, the restaurant also excels in seafood dishes like Furikake Crusted Ahi and the Signature Seafood Tower.
I recently had dinner at one of Honolulu’s best restaurants, The Signature Steakhouse. The experience was just amazing. The view in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed incredible panoramic view, both the Honolulu skyline and the ocean through windows that wrap around three sides of the restaurant. It’s a sky lounge setting that combines urban energy with coastal serenity. I couldn’t stop saying “wow” at the view. The moment at sunset hour was absolutely magical. And then, of course, there’s the food. This place is not just about the view, it’s also known as one of Honolulu’s top dining restaurants. The steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the seafood was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. The service? The staff were all warm, quick and nice.

The line for their daily happy hour extends from the elevator through the lobby and out the entry driveway - but the wait is worth the experience! The steaks are the main draw, but happy hour with 50% off dishes and cocktails (some, not all) is the star of the show, rivaling only the spectacular scenery from the 36th Floor. Our favorites - the fresh scallops, fried oysters - just delectable with flavors exploding in every bite! The soft shell crab and steak tips were also flavorful. It can get noisy and crowded at happy hour - and please ask to be seated near the piano and away from the walkways as it can be bothersome to get bumped and poked every now and then.

The best happy hour deal! A must-try steak for under $30! Greg was our server — friendly, professional, and very attentive. The food and drinks arrived promptly and at the perfect temperature. He even sang Happy Birthday for my sister, which made our day extra special! Greg also shared a great tip: if you want to enjoy the sunset, reserve tables 10–15. You’ll get to savor delicious food, amazing deals, and a stunning sunset view all at once.

My first visit to The Signature was an absolutely outstanding experience. The elevator wait for happy hour can be a bit long, (around 20 minutes) so a separate line for reservations might be helpful. But once you step off the elevator and see the sweeping views of Honolulu, the ocean, and the sunset, it’s easy to forget the wait. I had a reservation that evening (note that reservations are for the full dinner menu, not happy hour pricing), and it was well worth it. My total came to about $169 before tip for one person, which was fair given the quality and setting. I was seated in the southwest corner, a perfect sunset view, and the service was excellent from start to finish. My water glass never ran empty, and my server was professional, kind, and efficient. I started with the French onion soup, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly melted on top. For my entrée, I ordered the prime filet and lobster with truffle potato gratin, and the chef kindly sent out garlic mashed potatoes as well. Every dish was beautifully prepared, the steak perfectly cooked, the lobster buttery and tender, and the potatoes flavorful (though the garlic mash may be a bit strong for some). The complimentary bread rolls were warm and perfectly salted with a nice crunch. The live pianist added a wonderful touch, talented and soothing without overpowering the room. My two timeless old fashioneds were mixed flawlessly. Overall, it was one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Honolulu. On my second visit, I arrived around 6:50 PM hoping to order a few items from the happy hour menu before 7 PM, as advertised on their marketing materials, website, and emails (all clearly stating Happy Hour: 4:30–7:00 PM). However, I was told that food service for happy hour ended at 6:30 PM and that I could only order drinks at full price. This contradicted every piece of marketing I’ve seen, including the flyer they emailed (attached here for reference). It was disappointing and confusing, especially since I mentioned that I knew exactly what I wanted to order and had arrived within the stated time. Consistency in communication is key at this level of dining, and I hope management will align their policies with their advertising to avoid confusion for future guests. That said, The Signature remains a top-tier dining destination. The views, ambiance, and food quality are second to none, and when everything aligns, it’s an unforgettable experience. Parking tip: You can park anywhere in the Ala Moana structure, but the second floor near Macy’s provides the most direct access to the hotel elevators. Despite the minor frustration during my second visit, I’ll absolutely be back, the service, food, and setting make The Signature a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike.

I went there for a Girl's Day with my friends. The wine was amazing, and the steak just melted in my mouth. I usually never eat mashed potatoes, but they were so good I couldn’t stop eating them, haha. And oh my god—the mushrooms? Totally addictive! We had such a lovely evening. The sunset was absolutely beautiful, and to top it all off, the piano performance at the end was incredible!

It was our first time visiting and had a great date night at Signature! We were quickly seated and greeted. We were there for happy hour and their selection was quite good. We tried the soft shell crab, the steak sliders, truffle fries, ahi poke and calamansi brûlée. The sliders presented well and were fresh but honestly were a bit bland. My wife enjoyed the crab and the truffle fries were quite good. The star of the show however was the poke. Oh my. The texture was soooo buttery. Delicious. I would gladly go back for that and the brûlée. Nice ambiance and the piano playing was an excellent touch. We will definitely be going back!

Eating House 1849 at Waikiki's International Market Place is a culinary gem created by renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of traditional plantation flavors with modern twists, reflecting the rich history and culture of the islands. Inspired by Portuguese, Spanish, and Filipino influences, the menu features innovative dishes like Plantation Style Paella Rice Stew and Pork and Crab Pillow Dumplings.
I can confidently say this is my absolute favorite restaurant! On my last visit, I ordered the Build Your Own Local Catch Dish with Yellowtail Amberjack and pancit — every bite was perfection. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and paired beautifully with the flavorful pancit. The balance of textures and flavors was so spot-on it made me slow down just to savor it. Of course, no visit here is complete without dessert, and I always get the chocolate soufflé. It’s rich, airy, and decadent — the kind of dessert that makes you pause, close your eyes, and just appreciate life for a moment. From the impeccable food to the warm, inviting atmosphere, this place never disappoints. If I could give it more than five stars, I would!

Let me start with a confession: I'm not a big kale fan. I've on occasions, dutifully gnawed through it post-gym while questioning both my life choices and the meaning of joy. But my brother loves kale and asked if I would share a kale salad, with him. After a couple glasses of wine, I'm pretty agreeable to most things except giving up wine. Then snap... that was like not just one of the best kale salads I've ever had but one of the tastiest salads ever! The kale itself was moist, tender yet firm and didn't have the usual cardboard flavor and texture. The papaya seed dressing was bright and tangy, but the real star was the crispy garlic chips -- earthy, toasty flavor bombs that added a wonderful crunchy texture to the salad. The oysters from Washington were plump and meaty, with that briny ocean essence followed by a milky, rich finish. They came with a couple of side sauces but I'm a purist when it comes to oysters. Just give me a lemon wedge and a dash of tobacco. The Kampachi Crudo- Thin, silky slices of fish, cut to a nice thickness that gave a wonderful chew, with a hint of citrus and a light touch of truffle yaki. It was fresh and refreshing , clean, and flavorful -- simple but memorable. Love it when a chef resists the urge to smother the dish -- just some tasty support and let the fish do the rest. For the main, we shared the butterfish kamameshi. The fish was slightly overcooked -- a little firmer and dryer than I'd prefer -- but the flavor was there. The seasoned furikake rice underneath almost stole the spotlight. Layered with flavors and cooked perfectly . The vegetables including daikon added texture, and those crispy bits of rice at the bottom of the cast iron pot? Total food gold. The Service : My brother and I sat at the bar -- always my first choice, and after more than a decade behind one, still where I feel most at home. The service is faster , the energy more dialed up . At the bar, the world comes at you with the good, the bad, and the downright messy. You learn to duck and weave, toast and cheer, and take it all in--one slurp of wine at a time. It's like having a seat at the chef's table, but instead of watching tweezers and foam, you hear the shaking of martinis and the stirring of spirits. And even now, from the other side of the rail, it still feels like the best seat in the house for me. And don't get me started about the people watching. Huge shoutout to Sasha, our bartender for the night. She was handling drinks for the entire dining room, yet still made us feel like honored guests in her little corner of the chaos. Always checking in on us with a warm smile. It resuscitated old muscle memory from my own nights in the trenches. Respect Sasha!! The Atmosphere: Beautiful and comfortable interior with a laid back elegance. A blend of modern and Hawai'i plantation. Elegant enough for a date night yet casual enough for shorts and slippers. A guitar player with a Fender Strat skillfully filled the empty spaces between conversations . Will definitely be back! Happy Eating!!

Place is vibrant and has pastries ready to buy if you want to grab something and go. Prices a very fair especially because of location. Place was very clean bright light and shiny walls and glass. Super clean and our server was cool the busser Diego was very helpful throughout the night definitely can be a server. Paella seafood is what I ordered. Real strong with tomato flavor and not much more flavor than that. Coconut creme brulee was decent. The upside down pineapple was the best thing I had from all the entress, appetizers and desserts.

If you're a foodie, but also have little kids, I can't recommend Eating House 1849 at the Internatinal Market enough. It is so hard to find a restaurant of this quality, with food this good, that feels acceptable to bring small children to. From the very beginning, everyone was welcoming to out 1 and 3 year old. They even have a 3 course kids meal with starter quesadillas, and entree, and a dessert ice cream sandwich. The fresh catch was a hit for our Littles. For the adults, we had poke, ramen, and a filet mignon that was to die for. The unique blend of European and Hawaiian cuisine is something we always love about Roy's restaurants and this was a trjlly stellar experience.

🚨 Warning: Tourist Trap with Awful Food and Service – Not a Steakhouse! 🚨 My wife and I had a terrible experience here on Halloween night (approx. 5:00 PM). | Service (Initial) | The restaurant was empty, yet it took the hostess 5 minutes just to seat us. There seemed to be too many staff milling around, creating a lack of accountability. | | Service (Our Waitress) | Our waitress was highly inattentive. After taking our order, she was nowhere to be found and never checked on our food. | | The $170 Ribeye | I understand ordering steak at a non-steakhouse is a risk, but our waitress strongly recommended it as the best item. The steak arrived severely undercooked (rare instead of medium-rare). | | Handling the Mistake | I had to flag down a hostess to return the steak, as our waitress was missing. The manager brought it back half an hour later after we had finished the rest of our meal. The second attempt was a disaster: one end was well-done, the other was rare, and the meat was tough. The fat glob was so chewy on the end-cuts I had to spit it onto a napkin. | | Appetizer & Sides | The sashimi appetizer was served strangely with hot sauce and mayonnaise—a very odd and disappointing combination. | | Dessert | The waitress apologized and brought dessert. We ordered the chocolate soufflé hoping to salvage the meal, but it was not a soufflé at all and tasted stale or expired Twinkie. | | Overall Value | Even the only "good" dish (shrimp) was not nearly enough to justify a $170+ meal. | Note on a Strange Touch: Our waitress gave me a paper to fill out—a voting ballot for a Halloween costume contest—which felt completely unprofessional given the poor quality of our dining experience. The chopsticks were also advertised as a "Shark Tank" product. Shame on you, Mr. Yamaguchi, for the truly poor quality of food and service at this price point. We left laughing in disbelief at how bad it was, though we did leave a 20% tip out of habit. AVOID!

Teppanyaki restaurant
Tanaka of Tokyo East is a Japanese teppanyaki-style restaurant where skilled chefs prepare steak and seafood at tableside grills. The dining experience involves watching the chef's impressive culinary skills as they cook a variety of dishes, including Blackened Ahi, Ahi Poke, Beef Tataki, and Wagyu Beef. The restaurant offers a family-friendly atmosphere with entertaining staff for kids.
Unforgettable Dinner at Tanaka of Tokyo – All Thanks to Eduard Hauptmann! I can’t say enough good things about our recent experience at Tanaka of Tokyo in Waikiki! We were celebrating my sister’s birthday, and everything was perfect—largely because of Ed (assistant manager), the chief, the waitress (apologizes but I didn't catch both their names), who truly went above and beyond for us. I bumped into Ed (while looking for the bathroom). He was incredibly kind and funny. I was quietly trying to figure out where the restroom was, and without me even saying a word, Ed swooped in and pointed me in the right direction. It was like he read my mind! That’s the level of attentiveness and intuition he brought the entire night. His energy, sense of humor, and thoughtful attention to detail made the evening feel extra magical. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious—every bite was cooked to perfection. The chef was incredibly engaging, made us laugh, and created a relaxed and fun atmosphere at the table. It was interactive, exciting, and personal. The waitress was so patient and kind, never rushed us and always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and happy. I recommend Tanaka of Tokyo, especially if you’re celebrating something special. And if you’re lucky enough to meet Ed, you’re in for a treat. He made our night unforgettable, and we’re so grateful for the care and joy he brought to our dinner.

Here are the things need to be improved. 1. The cooking panel was completely burned. It is unhealthy and affected the food's taste. The photo shows how it is black. 2. The chef was not too prfoessional. Although the rest of chefs were singing or were playing with knives, ours was so simple. 3. The menu was a little bit confusing specially the premium ones.

We had a great time visiting Tanaka on our recent vacation. The service from everyone we encountered was great, it's a lively/fun atmosphere, and the food was spot on. Plus, you get quite the performance! We ended up ordering steak, lobster, scallops, shrimp, and fried rice (I ordered the Petite Filet Lobster Tail and Scallops, which was plenty of food for me). This came with hibachi-style vegetables, the best miso soup I've ever had, salad, as well as ice cream. Our Hibachi server, from Guam (apologies, I don't recall his name) was fantastic — clearly very talented, funny, and charismatic. It was a great show and value.

Karai Crab is a casual seafood dining spot that offers custom-seasoned seafood meals, combo dishes, and daily specials. Located in Hawaii, it started in 2012 with the mission to create lasting memories through delicious seafood and unique sauces. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and serving with aloha. With a Hawaiian-style seafood boil menu featuring an abundance of shellfish, it's a must-visit for seafood lovers and tourists seeking an authentic taste of the island.
We had our family dinner here recently and everything was really good. The food was amazing! It was larger than what the picture shows. There was 5 adults and 2 children in our party and it was more than enough. We got the Kraken from the Happy Hour menu and we also ordered the Miso clams. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

We came here for the reviews. Food was great, but very pricey and air conditioning at start was uncomfortable. The conversion in Canadian was $367CAD for a mom and 6 year old! We had 1 dungeon and 1 king crab, clams, garlic fries and one cocktail and a virgin drink. Good to experience but too expensive for our budget unfortunately. We could of went to a luau for same price :(

On vacay and we decided we wanted seafood so stopped by to give it a try. We ordered the spicy garlic shrimp and king crab with no mess shrimp (shrimp peeled/headless). You can add different sauces to the boil and different heat levels to each sauce. We chose the Karai special sauce, habanero spicy and added some corn on the cob. The meal was really good, and although it was habanero, it wasn't really spicy. The garlic shrimp was very good. I would recommend this for all you shrimp lovers for sure. Corn wasn't really sweet and seemed like all the flavor came from the sauce. We also ordered a couple drinks. I really wanted to try the chocolatini. I absolutely love chocolate! Well as you can see in the picture, the glass came half full and tasted very little of chocolate. I was extremely disappointed, so I sent it back and settled for water. Was not sure what my friend ordered but she drank it & advised it wasn't what she expected either. I would skip the alcohol if I came back. Other than the drinks, everything else was good. It is pricey but was an experience. The staff was really attentive and helpful with the ordering process and explaining things. Note: Only parking we found nearby we did have to pay, but it was around $2.50 for like 1.5 hrs so it wasn't expensive at all. If you read my review, please hit the like button. Thank you

Best seafood in Honolulu!! I ate here at the old location about 8 years ago with my family on our summer vacation to Hawaii. My dad hasn’t stopped talking about how good this place was. My husband and I came to Hawaii for our honeymoon and I took him to the new location. Parking was easy and I loved that they had a visual instruction video to show you how to access the garage. It was by far our most favourite meal on our entire trip. The service was top-notch - super friendly and they check on you consistently. The food is absolutely amazing. Super flavourful and cooked perfectly. The calamari were the most tender squid we’ve ever had. We got the colossal sampler for the two of us and it was outstanding - definitely get the karai special sauce. I loved that they give you a bib, scissors, gloves, crab roll, and a bowl for your garbage. You make a huge mess but it’s well worth it and the table it’s covered with paper for that reason. The drinks were also the best we’ve had in Honolulu. And we had the pecan tarts for dessert - perfect way to end the meal. We wish we could’ve come again during our stay in Honolulu. It’s family run and you can tell how passionate they are about serving you the best seafood and ensuring you have the best dining experience. It’s definitely worth the short trek out of Waikiki. Highly highly recommend Karai Crab!

Totally beyond expectations. Food was excellent and so was the service. Found Karai Crab on the internet and definitely did not disappoint. Perfect anniversary dinner!! Highly recommend the miso clams!!

If you love everything crab, this is your go to spot. It’s a short car ride from Waikiki if you’re visiting. Get the king crab legs, they’re worth it. It’s a nice size portion so it’s good to share, especially if you’re getting other items, options for sauce with a heat index and also several varieties can be cooked in garlic, tropical, etc. The salt and pepper shrimp are the best I’ve ever had, so crispy you can eat the shell and head. They have garlic noodles, get a loaf of bread you’ll want it for dunking into the sauce. Servers are always so friendly and quick service.

Dim sum restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Legend Seafood Restaurant, located in Chinatown Cultural Plaza and established in 1990, offers a casual dining experience with a focus on Hong Kong Cantonese cuisine. The restaurant serves as both a prominent dim sum spot during the day and transforms into a seafood destination at night. With an emphasis on exceptional service and high-quality food, Legend provides various dining options including full-service casual dining, take-out, group dining, and party dining.
Our go-to dim sum place. Great service and prices. They're constantly circling the floor with the carts, but be sure to ask for the dim sum menu because they only have the most popular items on them. Great dinner menu also! Quick service and huge family style portions.
Brandon D — Google review
Look no further for excellent dim sum and Chinese food! They're located in Chinatown at the corner of Beretania & Maunakea Streets. We always park in the garage of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza, and they do validate. ATMOSPHERE: Its your typical Chinese restaurant; big 10-seat tables and flexible 2-seaters, with the bling chandelier in the middle. When you enter, it sounds like a hen house lol! Big windows offer views of people walking along the river. We usually do dim sum, but you can also order off the main menu. FOOD: Steamed Look Funn Ahh, this is my favorite dish here. We usually order them with shrimp, and there are other stuffings available. The four, bright white burrito-shaped noodles were soft and doused with soy sauce that runs effortlessly off the silky smooth exterior. Chicken Feet A favorite of mine since I was a tyke. The four feet were super tender and done in a salt & pepper seasoning. I have yet to see my friends and spouse try this. It's not bad at all!? It's sort of like eating chicken skin with a little bit of cartilage. Highly recommended! Pork Hash Three good sized pieces came in the steamer, in yellow wrappers and tender pork filled to the brim. Choy Sum The bright green stalks & leaves were steamed perfect and drizzled with oyster sauce. Pan Fried Noodles Several toppings are available, and we went with boneless chicken. It's really deep fried crispy noodles topped with a mild gravy sauce and choi sum. Heavenly... Dumplings I'm not sure what they're called exactly, but the three huge dumplings were fully stuffed with savory ground pork, green onions, and peanuts. Very good. Pan Fried Noodle with Minute Chicken This was the dish I was wanting to try at LHF, so I was ecstatic to find it here. First off, it's a huge portion. The noodles are of the crispy variety that you find in Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, though I was hoping for cake noodles. Unfortunately, the noodle to chicken ratio was very lopsided at about 10:3. Way too much noodles, not enough chicken and choi sum toppings. The chicken strips were tender but lightly seasoned which was another disappointment. The sauce was also very subtle in the flavor department and didn't give this dish any life. Bland dish... Pass. Custard Tart If you love custard, you'll absolutely ADORE these. The eggy filling marries so well with the flaky crust. Holy geezuz. Get the large with four pieces!!!! SERVICE: Its gotten better over the years, not as forceful or pushy. Some of the servers accents are so heavy, its difficult to understand what you're ordering sometimes. OVERALL: Excellent Chinese food!

We actually ordered more dimsum dishes today. Too busy to eat. Forgot about taking pictures 😜 This restaurant is always busy. That’s why the food is always fresh 👍 Save some space for sweet dessert in the end 😜
Jennifer L — Google review
The place is a bit run-down, and the A/C could definitely be better, it felt a little stuffy inside. Service was on the slower side for dim sum today. The baked goods cart sat unattended for 10–15 minutes, which was disappointing, though the other carts were circulating pretty efficiently. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. The shrimp shumai had good flavor, but the wrapper was a little rubbery. The baked manapua had an unusual sour taste today that didn’t sit right. On the bright side, the taro puffs were excellent, and the xiao long bao were solid, especially with the red vinegar sauce they served on the side. Prices are a little on the higher side, and honestly, I’m not sure it was worth it for the overall experience. Not sure if I’ll be back.
Trestan N — Google review
The restaurant is pretty dated and the a/c seems pretty weak. The cart dimsum is quick and convenient. The tea is a bit too bitter and no chili oil on the tables.
Suwida — Google review
Busy Saturday lunch period but we were seated right away. Carts come around and you request what you want from them. Fresh dim sum and desserts. Could also order dishes (for veggies bc they're not in the dim sum/carts). Quick service. Air conditioning could have been cooler. Water wasn't offered, we had to ask mid-meal Nice family atmosphere with the usual sounds of dishes and conversations. Would go again
Dee T — Google review
Went searching for a good Dim Sum place in Oahu - wouldn't you know it, there's a TON of them, especially in Chinatown. This place didn't disappoint. food was quick to come out, service was excellent, and our measure of good Dim Sum is always how fall off the bone is the chicken feet, and how flavorful. if you perfect this very finicky dim sum dish, you know the rest is golden. RESULT: chicken feet is ON POINT.
Rob O — Google review
I actually got lost looking for a Vietnamese restaurant and ended up here. I realized it was dim sum restaurant so I used the provided check list to order what I wanted and it came out within 10 minutes hot and fresh. The server spoke a little fast, but she was nice as she gave me water and tea immediately. The chicken feet were super tender and flavorful while the honeycomb tripe had a slight chew but melted eventually. It was such a filling meal and I would definitely come back.

Wai'olu Ocean Cuisine is a beautiful and upscale seafood restaurant that offers stunning views of Waikiki from their outdoor seating. The dishes are all delicious and unique, making it a great place to go with friends or family. They have happy hour specials every day and offer a variety of sushi entrees as well.
Beautiful open air restaurant with delicious drinks and meals. I went because I saw they had Hawaiian amberjack on the menu and wanted to get some truly local fish- it was delicious. They also customize some of their non-alcoholic drinks, which also sounded delicious, to make them alcoholic for me.

Second visit. The first was amazing. Great table service, excellent food, 20% tip added automatically for a party of 5, but it was an amazing experience. We are "on the couches", outdoors on the deck. Really good. Went back tonight and got a different server, same spot. Burger was disappointing to say the least, cooked perfectly, nice beef, no taste. FYI, you need to season beef, even with salt. Tip not automatically added (same number of guests), food on table and no cutlery, items on the check don't add up. Really disappointed after such a great first visit.

Beautiful views. Other then that, the whole experience was underwhelming. Service was alright, they forgot my dads drink, but the server was sweet and offered it on the house which we declined. The smoked kampachi dip was actually really good, but the tiger roll seemed to not have any crab. I had the grilled shutome, and the presentation was very nice but the fish was dry and lukewarm. Overall, not a bad experience but not impressed.

This place is unreal. I most definitely enjoyed my food and drinks at the bar. Travis and the crew most certainly run a tight ship with a great staff. Nothing but aloha and genuine care with the service here. Mahalo for such a wonderful time spent at your hotel. Cheers and Namaste!

Google maps hides this little gem from "Seafood Restaurant" results, see image! The food and service exceeded expectations. The restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the Trump International Waikiki, in an open air dining room with a relaxed setting you can enjoy table services or eat in lounge seating. Tables have a view of the city scape and sunset. We made a reservation to enjoy our last night in Waikiki. There is a wide seafood for variety oysters, whole Maine lobster, fresh caught fish, mussels, and sushi and even a kids menu. The chefs tasting Ali’i course ordered Chinese style brought back magical memories of southeast Asia as it was served whole bone-in which made the filets most flavorful! The poke ceviche was so fresh served with delicately sliced crisp red onion, a taste of Hawaii. The non-alcoholic and alcohol drinks were beautiful and very tasty, all made with fresh juices.

American restaurant
Restaurant
Livestock Tavern is a trendy brick-lined venue in downtown Honolulu, offering seasonally inspired American dishes and classic cocktails. The restaurant's sommelier, Dusty Grable, has curated a selection of natural wines with a hands-off approach, focusing on integrity rather than the label 'natural.' The menu features simple comfort food with an innovative twist, including herb-roasted chicken, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, and smoked prime rib.
Food is well priced and delicious! We don’t eat out often, and we had a great 1st experience. My partner and I shared the chop salad, oxtail mac, clam chowder, grilled octopus, and half rack of lamb. Holy cow everything was perfect and yummy. The stars of the meal were the lamb and octopus; lamb is our favorite food and it was prepared 10/10. Cocktails were also a treat; not too sweet. We were SO full and would definitely recommend this place to others. Come here for a great and unpretentious yet memorable dinner.

It was lunchtime, but they had prepared a dinner menu for me specially. The filet was soft and delicious. If you want to eat European and American style meat in Hawaii, it costs $53, but this is the only place you can go.

Dinner for three. I was waffling between five or four stars, as service was initially a little shaken (seemed like it was the waitress’ first night almost) but the food was just so good, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. And she did recommend the lamb skewer, which was garlicky and tender topped with tasty bits of sun-dried tomatoes and feta - delicious, my wife loved the seafood ravioli with lobster gravy and our friend enjoyed the duck breast. Two creme brûlées and the caramel bread pudding was dessert. Ladies loved the touch of lillikoi in the brûlées and the bread pudding was some of the best I’ve ever had! Prices were reasonable and portions generous; without an appetizer I was still stuffed in the end and I’m a big eater. Ambience was fine but it is an open space with high ceilings and brick walls, so even though only half full it was very loud. All in all glad we finally got to visit and highly recommend!

We enjoyed dinner at Livestock Tavern. We started with the Lobster and spinach dip and the special soup of the day french onion soup. For main we had the smoked prime rib and half rack of lamb. Overall it is good. I did not like the sauce that they put with the lamb.

Lamb chops, bourbon drink, and burgers are great. Bone marrow was not very much marrow but delicious. Lamb skewers and NY strip were just okay. Service was amazing first half of meal but we were left waiting at the end for boxes and check.

A friend who live in Honolulu recommended us to this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. The prime rib is so tender , they even helped us to cut it to smaller pieces so we could share. We also had Beets & frisee. The portion of scallop mushroom risotto was very generous, and the taste was very flavourful. Sunchoke & Brussels was another nice dish. The service was attentive. At the end, we couldn’t finish the food, so we had to pack to go. It was a nice dinner!

Livestock Tavern is a hidden gem that truly shines when it comes to appetizers. The moment you step inside, you’re enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfectly suited for an evening out with friends or a casual dinner date. The menu boasts an impressive selection of small plates that are sure to please any palate. One standout appetizer is the crispy Brussels sprouts, which are expertly tossed in a tangy chili aioli that adds just the right amount of heat. The flavor profile is both savory and slightly sweet, making them completely addictive. Another must-try is the pork belly sliders, featuring tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat topped with a zesty slaw that balances the richness beautifully. For those looking for a lighter option, the charcuterie board is a fantastic choice, displaying a variety of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, and house-made pickles that invite you to explore different flavors and textures. The attentive staff at Livestock Tavern further enhances your dining experience, offering knowledgeable recommendations and ensuring your glass is never empty. If you’re in the mood for delicious appetizers and a vibrant atmosphere, Livestock Tavern is definitely worth a visit!

Merriman's Honolulu is a vibrant and stylish restaurant that offers locally-sourced Pacific Rim cuisine, accompanied by a selection of wines, cocktails, and live music. Located at Ward Village near Ala Moana Centre, this modern Hawaiian gastropub is the brainchild of award-winning chef Peter Merriman. The menu features an array of family-friendly dishes such as Kalua Pig quesadilla, fish tacos, and chicken-avocado salad.
Our server was superb and the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. Not only our server was good, I also noticed how every employee was really into his or her job. The management did a very nice job training and motivate its staff. We sat in front of the kitchen and had a great view how the kitchen and the wait staff all working together. Kudos! The food was excellent and the price was reasonable. The taro hummus appetizer was one of the best hummus we have had and the it was garnished with bits and pieces of fresh vegetables, a great combination. The burger was very tasty (but just a tad on the salty side) and it came with some very good fries. The buttermilk dressing for the fries was one of the best. The fish sandwich was also quite good. The Nerrimen’s Maitai was just okay. We will return to try other dishes and its desserts.

The atmosphere is classy but hawaii classy! great live music! The Roasted Garlic chicken was so good honestly, i am a foodie & it was delicimo! The appetizers are all carefully homemade and are as good as entres no joke. the quesadillas alone will rock your world ! im very impressed with Sean the manager & also his #1 waiter Ryan.

I’ve been to monkeypod on outrigger and Merriman’s in Maui. I expected this place to be closer in style to the Maui location and I was dead wrong. It seems to be a little more upscale than monkeypod but with worse food. I had the surf and turf which had flavorless fish with a terrible bolognese sauce paring. The wagyu sirloin was requested medium rare but came out well done, overcooked due to its size no doubt. I also had the table side poke which had just fish, avocado, onion, and a soy sauce. Not terrible but not worth $25 for a few bites. The taro chips were the best part. My partner had the mushroom ravioli which was so underwhelming. Zero mushroom flavor due to the overwhelming butter sauce. We had two decent drinks out of the 4 we ordered. Finally the desert was overfilled with macadamia nuts and not enough bread to call it bread pudding. Our sever was our only salvation but he could only do so much when the whole place felt like it focuses on its “aesthetic” rather than food quality. Bill came out to $300, would have been better spent at monkeypod!

Finally stopped by for lunch for two today. Seated promptly and service throughout was efficient and very friendly. Wife had a mai tai, which she liked, but didn’t loved in its defense she leans sweet and this was pleasantly tart, so I thought it was great. She had the special which was salmon in a soy, chili and seasame oil sauce with fresh noodles - all outstanding - she loved the sauce! I had the fish sandwich, which was probably the best fish sandwich I’d ever had! Fish wasn’t even battered, but grilled. Fish was super fresh and the bun was even delicious, all along with a nice spicy aioli. All in all, been meaning to come here for a while and will definitely be back!

We don't get reservations when we visit this restaurant, because we can always get a table every time. Today as any other days, we were seated right away. Waiter was very friendly and prompt with orders. This restaurant is not the cheapest in town. I really don't mind paying for the food, as long as its made properly. The reason for 3 stars on the food, I wasn't impressed with what I've got today. Although the steak was flavored, the meat was too well done and tough for what I wanted. The fries shouldn't be included with the steak since it get soggy from the juice of the meat. My salad was too soggy as well, too much dressing for such a small amount of lettuce/ingredients in them. Butter should be serve room temperature not hard so it's easy to spread on the biscuit.
The H — Google review
This place lived up to my expectations. Our server was beyond helpful in giving us recommendations on what to order, and my mouth watered as he described the dishes to us. I ended up enjoying a perfectly cooked medium rare steak with fries. For dessert, I had the chocolate purse with vanilla ice cream. Everything was brilliant!

The most disappointing $68 lunch in recent memory goes to Merriman's Honolulu. Read on to find out why. The tiny and sad Hapa Poke ($23) was missing the advertised Avacado and flavorless. Just salty with no unique flavor. The portion size of fish was a joke too. The chips were sad too. I threw most of this away. The Kalua Pig Quesadillas ($16) were super greasy and the Poi Crema was a congealed mess. The Kimchi felt out of place and an afterthought. I threw away half the dish. The Fish and Shrimp Chips ($29) were greasy and overcooked. The batter was hard like a rock and unpleasant. The Malt Vinegar "Aioli" tasted like straight mayo. The only thing that was ok were the Fries. I threw away half of this too. For $68 this lunch was a full on fail. To be honest my choice for lunch was actually @mariposahawaii but they said their kitchen was too backed up and they weren't accepting takeout orders. We settled on Merriman's because a friend was getting us lunch and it was nearby. It's also a little strange that I can't tag merrimanshonolulu. Anyhow I don't think I'll ever be back unless there's some crazy changes to their menu. I threw away half the food even though I was raised not to waste food. 🔹𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱: (2/10 🌟) 🔹𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 & 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Not rated due to takout. However it took several calls before anyone answered the phone. 🔹𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁: (2/10 🌟) Not Recommended. 🔹𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲: (5/10 🌟) The score you voted for in our public poll.

Went here yesterday with a friend and the food was just okay. After taking our order, we had to wait half an hour for the food to come out and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The tables near us also had a long wait time. I had the steak frites, medium rare. It was cooked properly, but I think the portion size has been reduced from the last time I ordered it a few years ago. I've had better steaks at other restaurants. My friend had the Caesar salad, nothing spectacular. Our server was nice, though. I think this place can do better.

EbiNomi is a small, casual eatery with a pet-friendly front patio and a menu featuring seafood and Asian fusion cuisine. Despite being newly opened, it has already gained popularity among pet owners. The quality of the shrimp dishes is highly praised, particularly the coconut shrimp for its tastiness and crunchiness. Some feedback suggests improvements in certain dishes like the garlic shrimp and rice options.
I stayed right on the beach in Waikiki and Ebinomi was just a 7 minute walk. The service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the spicy garlic shrimp and I could not ask for more. The portion was great. There were several large shrimps and the perfect serving of rice. The outdoor seating was perfect. I highly recommend this place. It’s great value for money.

The place is located behind the busy streets and is a small business more suitable for fast food. A few options to choose. Butter garlic Shrimp seems their signature and it's quite good. They cook it fresh. There is no seat in the room so the dining is outdoor with no fans - it is really hot outside even in October! There is a piano outdoor as well for people to play.

I visited around noon. I didn't have to wait to order and I received the food after roughly 10 minutes. Garlic shrimp (single serving - $18.95) was pretty good! Shrimp was deshelled and tasted fresh. The size was good too. I'm not sure if this is significantly better than other places for garlic shrimp, but I enjoyed it!

Different than traditional poke places; qualify of the fish is outstanding. We ordered spicy mayo poke and Hawaiian lumi poke, over delicious rice. However, i wished i could add some of the condiments for free like in other places. I am used to adding all extra stuff and this place only offers sauces and ginger wasabi, fried onions and soy sauce. Overall good but left with wanting more flavors like I am used to at the regular poke places. If you want to customize it, this place is NOT for you. Their sashimi and fish looked fresh and yummy.

Very good sashimi, super fresh and tasty. Takeout only The poke is pretty lacking though, the sauce and rice are disappointing. The rice is soggy and not a good texture. You’re better off going to Maguro Spot for poke

Service and atmosphere - self order via website and the chef prepares your order from there. Sit on the dining area outside. It is a bit contactless and more electronic transaction. More like a food hall so plenty of seats with other people ordering from other restaurants..l Food - Veryyyyy goood poke - got the hawaiian limu ahi 3/4 lb container. Some salt to go with the fish that brings out even more of the fish. It can get salty at times so it probably pairs better with some rice too. (Coffee not from Maguro Bros).

This place was pretty hyped, but it didn’t fully live up to it for me. The tuna was definitely fresh—caught locally—which I appreciated. I got the Spicy Mayo Ahi, and while it was good, it wasn’t truly spicy. I had to ask for wasabi and ginger to boost the flavor, but each cost $2, which felt excessive. It’s a large size, but for one person it’s more than needed. The size of the meal is decent as well. I thought I would need the large because I was really hungry but the regular size ended up being more than enough. Overall, solid but not worth traveling to Hawaii just for it.

I came here for my birthday dinner a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely phenomenal. I've always been meaning to try Morio's but never had the chance since they are usually booked about a month or so out. So, pro tip: definitely plan ahead if you want to dine in here. With that said, all of the food was delicious. There were dishes that I didn't manage to take a picture of because I was too busy stuffing my face. Still, no regrets lol. The team was extremely accommodating for our entire experience. We added two additional people on at the last minute, which was no problem for them. Additionally, a couple people in our party, got stuck in traffic due to an accident and the team was very patient and made the proper adjustments to the timing of our meal. Additionally, they sent out a few drinks for our table to help me celebrate and it really made my night. There are a lot of new sushi ya popping up in the Honolulu area. Every single shokunin puts a ton of effort, time, and thought into their craft. So, it definitely seems like there are endless options when you are trying to pick out a sushi spot for your special occasion. This establishment has been around forever and I definitely urge you to at least give them a try. You won't be disappointed. One more thing to note is that the parking is actually on Young St. We were definitely a little confused thinking that it was on King St. Alternatively, there is parking available on the street on King St. after a certain time. But the building parking is validated and covered, so we opted to go that route. My message to the team: thanks again for a wonderful meal! I can't wait to see you again.

Great sushi! First timer at Morio’s and it was a fun experience. We brought a few bottles of sake so we could share with the staff and with Morio. Omakase was excellent, super fresh fish and perfectly seasoned sushi rice. Will definitely be going back when we can get a reservation!

I can't recall how I heard about this hidden gem, but so glad I did. Definitely a meal highlight from our recent vacation. My husband did an omakase experience (which I certainly would recommend if you don't have any restrictions with seafood) while I ordered off the regular menu. The food was plentiful and prices reasonable. I can't recall all of the types of fish he tried but one bite was better than the next. Sushi was also fresh and delicious. This place is BYOB which is AMAZING! We had an array of beverages and they were kind enough to ice everything down and provide appropriate glassware. If you're lucky maybe you can sample some of their sake stash too... Staff is incredibly welcoming and fun to boot. Tip:MAKE A RESERVATION! EARLY! This place is tiny with extremely personal service.

This was by far my favourite food experience in Hawai'i! The hosts are absolutely wonderful, the service was just amazing and they were extremely generous. The sushi was delicious, fresh and well prepared. We brought our own wine and had a great night! I would come here every night if I could. :)
Arsalan P — Google review
We ate at Morio's recently. While there, I ordered the non-alcoholic beer listed on the menu: Asahi Super Dry. However, that beer is actually 5% alcohol by volume. Please be careful! I hope Morio's edits their menu to correct this. Meanwhile, the food was great.

Amazing sushi, shrim tempura, garlic chicken, nato pizza, sashimi, uni, toro, unagi, spicy hamachi and, more!!! Market price and variety based on availability. High attention to detail and mouth watering flavors! Parking is street or valet.
Wendy W — Google review
Morio’s Sushi Bistro was one of the best omakase sets I have ever tried. The different variety dishes presented were all amazing and interesting. The fried fish, and the miso fish had a very distinctive flavor and so flavorful. There were many different types of sushi and they were all delicious. As someone who is not a fan of raw mackerel, I found Morio’s mackerel to have a very fresh and non-fishy smell and flavor. My favorite thing that Morio served us was the otoro. To top out all off, Morio was extremely kind and gave us complimentary otoro sashimi and extra dessert. Great customer service and I’m really glad I went.

Uncle's Fish Market Bar & Grill at Pearlridge is a popular waterside spot located at Pier 38, offering a vibrant atmosphere and a view of the bustling harbor. The restaurant pays homage to the local fishermen, known as "uncles," who befriend and mentor others in the community. With its nautical theme, this casual and sunny restaurant is loved by locals, visitors, and fishermen alike.
I come to Oahu every year, this is my first time here. Came to Uncles for a business dinner. It was great from start to finish. Great service, great apps, great entrees, great desert! I'll definitely visit again when I come to Oahu. I had the ahi sashimi app, shrimp & chips entree and coffee crème brûlée they were perfect and delicious.
Michael C — Google review
We stopped in for lunch wanted to try some local seafood. We had the butter fish and a BLT sandwich with crab meat. Both dishes tasted decent, but serving size was small compared with other eateries here in Oahu. The prices were surprisingly high compared to Waikiki especially for a restaurant in a mid-level mall. The service was friendly and good.
Big C — Google review
Thinking for the price it’ll be good but was wrong. Me and family was the first here and made reservation 3 weeks ago from today! and had to wait for our food. One of my family members never had their food till the rest the family finished. (Shake my head) Chefs made mistakes on my food. 1st found hair in the pasta. Then server came back to ask where it is (completely understand why the server asked but these chefs should double trippier check there dishes before giving it to the server.) came back after she asked and gave me a different food and then they got it right but forgot my bread for the pricing and small portions payed $167. Uncle gotta check on your chefs $45 for the photo below (unbelievable)

Overpriced, overcooked, underseasoned. Absolutely no reason to visit this restaurant. Husband got fish tacos (blackened). No spice, DRY, no salt. I got the chicken sandwich. $28 for the world’s smallest chicken breast. The wasabi was nonexistent, as was the salt. So overcooked I couldn’t finish. Poor chicken died in vain. The entire sandwich was worth probably $3 in materials. And I’m being generous. Save yourself the expense and go somewhere else.
Alexandra G — Google review
Overpriced!!! $28 for fish and chips - and they weren’t even that good! Also do not allow substitutions even with a price difference - charged an extra fee for salad dressing. Over a hundred dollars for two orders of fish and chips a side salad and a two drinks. Nuts! Word must be out that it’s crappy overpriced food because it was dead in there. One other table seated - we should have believed the reviews but we didn’t :(.

Food was ono Service good Atmosphere quiet Not someplace for a quick inexpensive meal
TUESDAY Y — Google review
The fish tacos here were extremely dry and over done. This location's food is not seasoned. All seasoning is in their sauces. This is the first review I've felt the need to give. $30 for two dry tacos and a few black tortilla chips is unaaceptable. They are charging an average of $60/plate. I'd hate to see what they'd do to the $157 tomahawk. Service was very good.
Dimitry R — Google review
The atmosphere was very nice but the fish tasted funny, like a sharp almost metallic taste to it. I recommend staying away from the fish and chips. They also did not honor the happy hour time they advertised and the owner was actually very rude about it. The food looks nice on the menu but did not taste fresh. I recommend eating somewhere else for those prices

Seafood restaurant
Keeaumoku Seafood is a hidden gem located in a bustling street, offering a wide variety of fresh poke and plate-lunch options. Despite its small size, the eatery provides generous portions at reasonable prices. The venue's limited space and challenging parking are overshadowed by the rave reviews it receives for its delectable seafood offerings. Customers praise the freshness of the poke and sashimi, highlighting favorites like the spicy sesame ahi tuna poke bowl and combo salad poke.
Don't let the drab exterior keep you from stepping in to this amazing spot! We've been eating poke and sashimi all around during our visit to Oahu, from hotels to small restaurants to grocery stores. This place was awesome! Freshest fish, great flavors, and super friendly service. Other customers coming and going all seemed like locals who were repeat customers, which is a great sign. My friend and I shared sashimi and poke, my wife had the ahi belly (delicious!) with poke. We will definitely be coming back here before we leave.
SAL — Google review
The food was amazing. The poke was amazing and the spicy ahi had the right balance of spicy. The Hamacha Kama (fish collar) was really good. The only problem with this place is that it is a little run down and there’s not many parking spots.
Leon N — Google review
The outside of the shop was very dirty, so I hesitated to enter. But inside, two women were preparing food in the kitchen. The display case wasn't very clean, but the tuna I was given as a sample was very fresh and delicious! The tuna they got at the auction in the fish market was amazing.
Bob J — Google review
Ordered uber eats I was happily surprised, the fish was GREAT!!! ordered poke bowl 2 choice (salmon+spicy ahi). Will definitely be ordering here again, and excited to try other dishes! Also shoutout to being open until 8pm! I didn’t feel like cooking dinner and wanted something healthy yet filling. Glad I took a chance on this place, definitely recommend! It’s also comforting knowing you’re supporting a business that supports compostable packaging!!❤️
Allison — Google review
This is one of those places where you don’t judge a book by its cover. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS and the quality was so good and fresh. The different combos they offer allow you the flexibility to try different things for a reasonable price. If you’re looking for a fresh and local spot this is the place to go! Will definitely be returning.
Steffanie L — Google review
Worth the drive to town, over and over. This place has great poke, excellent prices, and perfect kimchi (not too fermented but not too fresh). I ordered the salmon belly with fresh Hawaiian poke and the ahi belly with sesame oil ahi poke, both lunch plate size. Comes with furikake rice, and kimchi. There are a few parking spots right out front but easy to find street parking if those are full. No tables, take out only. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend you stop by this place!
T D — Google review
Definitely a hole-in-the-wall place that is worth the drive out of Waikiki and worth the trouble of finding parking if none right in front. Everything we've had there is good, including several different flavor poke, Kim chi, pickled Cucumber and their sashimi platters. Yes, doesn't look like the cleanest or most welcoming, but the ladies there have been great to us and the food backs it up. And prices are WAAY better than most other place you'll find on the island, including the local grocery store chain.
Willis W — Google review
If there is one place you need to try on the island, this is it. 👌👌👌👌 This was one of the best seafood places I've ever had, everything was fresh and so flavorful that I wish I was hungrier when I initially ate. I went around closing time, and I wasn't sure what to order. The two ladies behind the counter were very kind and extremely helpful. Because of them and the incredible food I will definitely be back and I'll make sure I'm hungry.

Kapa Hale is a vibrant and stylish eatery that beautifully blends local flavors with global influences, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Nestled in the Waialae-Kahala area, this restaurant showcases the culinary artistry of Chef Keaka Lee, who draws inspiration from his Hawaiian roots and experiences at renowned establishments. Kapa Hale features two exquisite five-course prix fixe menus alongside a vegetarian option, perfect for special occasions like Valentine's Day.
Great experience for dinner! We sat outside and it was a nice atmosphere, not too hot. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and Haku Lei for appetizers. Both were great and flavorful. For entrees we had the chicken and the Laksa Risotto. The risotto was amazing! The chicken was also cooked and seasoned well. A wonderful time here, would definitely visit again!
Bnice76 — Google review
I've been here twice within 6 months, both for dinner. It's Asian-European ish fusion in my opinion...all in all was okay. For the price, once to try it was good enough for me. Lol Most of the dishes are good and they have a good alcohol selection. Overall experience both times were good, but not memorable. Service was on point and there is no pressure to leave after 2 hours are up...the atmosphere made it very comfortable for the group of us to chat and relax. We got a few happy hour items (5pm to 6pm) such as the lechon kawali, roaster garlic noodles, and a 'call me old fashioned' cocktail. Both dishes was alright, the cocktails was good. My main was decent, I had the seafood laksa risotto. The scallops were cooked perfect, but i didnt care for the shrimps and clams. For such an expense dish, i wish they would remove the shells from the shrimp and loosen the clams from the shells. It's a bit of a work. The laksa style risotto was good. My friends got the bolognese dish...that one was better. I think the tempura eggplant was the best dish of everything I tried. I heard the brunch or breakfast was good...would be interested to try it.

I was very impressed with this restaurant. I love the fusion of flavors and creative style that inspires every dish. I also like how the menu puts vegetarian options front and center, even though I’m not a vegetarian. It was fun to choose a few dishes and share them with my family. The desserts were exceptional. I hope to return soon!

Great place to dine! It was a little loud in the main room indoors and hard to hear each other, the could use some sound tempering in the main room. The dishes were inventive and tasty, def flavor forward but nice service too. The lei salad and the chicken were really fantastic
Adamo S — Google review
This unassuming gem in Kahala is a must. No real frills regarding the aesthetic of the restaurant, but the food and drink menu more than made up for it. The steak tartare was a new and unique take on a classic dish and it didn’t disappoint. The smoked ahi dip was outstanding. I had the steak. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection over a bed on long beans that were sautéed perfectly. My friend had the seafood risotto. I got jealous the second it hit the table. All sorts of different seafood like clams, perfectly seared scallops, and huge shrimp all piled on top of an amazing portion of risotto. Their old fashioned menu was diverse and revolutionary. Highly recommend the brown butter old fashioned. Sadly we didn’t have room for dessert. Will definitely be back.

Kapa Hale is the real deal. The food is ridiculously good, inventive, local, and made with heart. We’re visiting from Scottsdale, AZ, and honestly, there’s not a single restaurant back home that could hang with this place. Friendly, down-to-earth staff. True chef-driven, farm-to-table cooking that’s all about flavor and freshness. The vibe is super casual, not fancy at all, but don’t let that fool you. Once the food hits the table, it’s next-level. If you’re in Honolulu and love great food, do not miss this spot.

AMAZING experience! One of the best restaurants on the island. Phenomenal food- very creatively crafted using local ingredients and pairing flavors from all over the world! Service was great too. For being a locally owned business starting in the middle of Covid, I hope they stay for good! Come support- you won’t be disappointed I promise :)
Jennifer P — Google review
Found this place during our last trip to Honolulu. We were looking to support a local restaurant away from the craziness of downtown Waikiki. We enjoyed our experience so much the first time that we returned a couple of years later. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and friendly. There is a small parking lot, but you might miss the entrance like we did the first time while driving and like our Uber driver did the second time. Tip: Look at the Google map to know the landmarks and avoid having to go around again (Sharp Right right after McDonald's if you are on Kilauea Ave). The staff was friendly, and the chef even came by to say hi and check on us. Regarding the food, the cornbread with lilikoi & honey butter is super tasty. The octopus is delicious and beautifully presented. I usually only like about 10% of the octopus that I try, but this one was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and had pickled cranberries and brown butter. The fried eggplant was okay. Our favorite main was the Koji Aged Beef - creamy mushroom sauce with long beans. Our favorite dessert was the lemon meringue.

Sato Seafood is an easygoing eatery in Honolulu, Hawaii that offers customizable poke bowls and hand-held sushi rolls. The restaurant has a friendly service and great specials, with outdoor seating reserved for customers. Visitors can expect fresh ingredients and a perfect fish-to-rice ratio in their dishes. Sato Seafood also serves fine Korean and Japanese food, such as Korean spicy pork and chicken domburi, with a nice ambiance and humble staff.
My new favorite poke and hand roll spot in Waikiki 🤙 absolutely loved both the Mac aburi salmon and the Hawaiian munchies - gotta have that crunchy garlic topping! Spicy handroll was pleasantly spicy too (kind of a gochujang spice), but the seared tuna was just ok. Def going back for the poke and spicy handroll!
Rebecca G — Google review
We detour for a bowl when we visit Waikiki. They used to do a booth at farmer's/night markets and sometimes poke festivals. Not sure if they still do. It is not a typical Hawaiian style poke place, more of a fusion Hawaiian/Japanese styles. Our favorites are Hawaiian munchies (pictured after eating most of it) and Maui Maui. The ladies working when we went in were older and very nice. Has 3 outside tiny bistro tables (2-person).
Lisa M — Google review
I was expecting good quality food here but was extremely disappointed. My chirashi bowl came with small diced pieces of tuna and salmon. It was pretty much a poke bowl without sauce. Definitely not worth it for $30!

Absolutely loved this spot! Best poke I had on the island!!! So good that we went back twice. Try the Hawaiin crunch poke bowl… you won't be disappointed 😊 There is not a lot of seating.. Just a few tables outside but the food was excellent and the staff was friendly!

Very disappointed. Almost no dine-in service, so we ordered two takeout meals. Soon after eating, my husband had food poisoning and I had severe diarrhea and stomach pain. The rice was sticky and there was far too much of it, while the fish portion was very small and there were no other vegetables. Extremely concerning and would not recommend.

Fat Cheeks, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a highly-rated restaurant known for its delicious fried seafood dishes and Cajun shrimp. The menu also features gourmet options like the white truffle with bacon lobster rolls. Customers have praised the hot and fresh food as well as the great customer service. Some feedback suggests that there could be clearer instructions for picking up orders.
The lobster roll is buttery and juicy. The bread is fresh and the french fries are probably even more delicious than the lobster roll. Will definitely be coming back to taste more of their menu items

I was craving a buttery lobster roll and my cravings were answered here. My husband grabbed the smash burger, and he really enjoyed that as well. We both said we would love to come back and try other items on the menu. The fries were perfectly crispy and I ordered the garlic aioli to compliment the fries. The staff were very friendly. Looking forward to another visit.

Burger was fine, lobster roll was great, spicy chicken was good. Its a fine place to grab a quick bite to go. Service is fast and staff is nice.
IC D — Google review
Located conveniently next to the beach and dive shops, this spot was a great recommendation from a friend. The lobster roll was delicious—fresh and flavorful—but for the price, it would’ve been nice if a butter cup for dipping was included. That little addition would’ve made it even better and taste better. My only complaint is that they seem to nickel and dime you for sauces, which feels a bit stingy for an otherwise great experience. The restaurant itself isn’t anything fancy, but it’s clean, well-kept, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a comfortable place to relax and grab a bite after a day at the beach or diving.
Jessica R — Google review
All in all pretty good. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was very good and is absolutely worth going back for. The fries are ok, nothing to write home about. The fish and fries are where it went off the rails a bit. For some reason they use the same breading for the fish as their fried chicken, so everything is a bit off…from the taste to the texture. It also falls off pretty easily. Wouldn’t get the fish again, but would return for the chicken.

Was craving lobster rolls before our flight to Maui. Wife found this place. A bit pricy, but absolutely worth it. Wife got the regular lobster roll and I had the jumbo. Tons of lobster meat. Buttery roll. The French fries a Must! Super crispy and seasoned so well. This place is tucked away in a small shopping mall that seems very slow. Super friendly staff, worker/ owner. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for lobster rolls. 10/10

Omg, such an amazing spot, a neighborhood gem for sure! The burger is the best; soooo flavorful, good beef, fresh/crisp veggies, great texture, and the bun is amazing. The fries are soooooooo good! Seasoned, flour-dusted, and tons of them. And try the fry dips, they’re delicious. The prices are so reasonable, especially considering the quality and taste. The service is friendly, professional, and helpful. The restaurant and dining tables are very clean.

I cannot stress enough how incredibly satisfied we were after eating here. We decided to go indoors and it looked even more like a hole in the wall place, but super worth it to come and eat. Food: My husband had the shrimp roll which he said was flavorful and juicy. Our Ninang E had the chicken sandwich which was crispy, delicious and completely cooked through. We got the Lobster Roll which was super buttery, garlicky and juicy. We also got the cheeseburger which was actually huge and very juicy. There was so much flavor in every bite. We all also enjoyed the crispy french fries. We all got sodas for drinks--just fountain drinks. This was such a memorable meal and it won't be the last time we go. Come by and eat--it's so worth it.

Et Al., a restaurant owned by Foodland, draws inspiration from various cultures and architectural styles. The name itself is derived from the Latin phrase "and others," reflecting its diverse influences. The interior design combines elements of Mediterranean architecture with Hawaiian, Japanese, and Portuguese culture. From stucco walls to dramatic arches and seating upholstered in palaka fabric, the space exudes a stylish fusion of aesthetics.
We had a wonderful celebratory dinner here at et al. It was our first time here and the restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings and nice decor. They sort of share the store-front with foodland, but they are their own restaurant so you don't even remotely feel like you're eating in a supermarket. We got a chopped salad, brined pork chops, a kids cheese pizza, and a braised short rib loco moco. Everything was perfect! Service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back here!

I finally got to try this amazing restaurant near my house, I've been wanting to check it out, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the chicken and waffles, and let me tell you... probably my new favorite spot for it here in Hawaii. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the waffles were just the right amount of fluffy and sweet. My boyfriend had the short rib loco moco, and it was so tender and juicy...total comfort food perfection! There were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try, but I eat pretty small portions, so I'll definitely be going back. The clam chowder soup and burger are next on my list. A few people around us ordered them and they looked incredible. This place is definitely a solid brunch spot. You do need a reservation for the regular tables, but we were seated right away at one of the high-top tables, which are first-come, first-serve. No stress at all. The staff was amazing, not just one server, but a whole tag team of four or five who all worked together seamlessly to take care of us. The vibe is really nice too. Even though it's attached to a grocery store, you'd never know once you're inside. Overall, 10/10, can't wait to come back!

Really enjoyed this place. Celebrated my father’s birthday with family for breakfast. The service was really great and the waiter was really personable. Gave us great recommendations. Every time I come here, it’s a great experience. The service is excellent and very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The food is amazing and very curated with a local twist. Every dish has an element that is a little unique and special. Atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. I think that the decor, upholstered seating, and beautiful plate ware adds to the overall ambience, which sometimes is hard to find here in Hawaii. I always think this is a local restaurant that is doing everything right. We will be back many many times more!

Solid place with large portions and affordable prices! Owner has run this for 29 years! We got the: • Fried Fish Balls (6 Pieces) • Wonton w/ Noodles and extra Fish Balls • Minute Chicken Cake Noodles • Beef Fried Fun The flavors of the beef fried fun were nice and balanced. The minute chicken cake noodles had juicy chicken with great flavor, nice veggies, and crispy cake noodles. The wonton noodles we pretty good wonton soup. Fried fish balls were nice as well! The space is a little tight, but we were able to sit comfortably for a hole in the wall! The three of us ate and we still had a lot leftover! Easily could feed 4 people with what we ordered! Nestled in a less glamorous part of Honolulu, Hihimanu Sushi has been delighting sushi lovers for over two decades. This intimate dining spot offers a unique omakase experience that showcases the freshest seafood, including locally sourced ingredients and exquisite Spanish trout roe. With only counter seating available and two seatings each night, guests are treated to an exclusive atmosphere where they can savor their meals while enjoying an extensive selection of sake.
This was our best omakase experience in the US! The 18-course meal was a journey of unique and diverse flavors. Each course offered something different, showcasing the fresh, original taste of every ingredient. From start to finish, the attention to detail and quality was exceptional. Highly recommend for sushi lovers!

Absolutely the greatest sushi restaurant I have ever been to and I’ve been to the highest ranked sushi restaurants in New York, LA, San Francisco, Houston, and Miami, and none of those compare to Hihimanu. Ray is an absolute magician his knife skills are unparallel. I have never liked to eat Uni at any restaurant and I could see myself eating just Uni at his restaurant. His selection of sake will rival anything you can get in Japan. If you’re in O’ahu you need to go eat here.

My wife and I had a great dinner here last night. Amazing sushi, great atmosphere, the sushi chef makes everyone feel welcome and he makes the best sushi that I have had in Hawaii. The fish is fresh, most flown in from the Tokyo auction. But it's not just the great fish, the chef is incredibly creative with use of caviar and uni and his own special sauces and spices to top each sushi. It is pricey, but well worth the cost. Also has a great selection of sake.

Ray's omakase at Hihimanu was a wonderful experience. His use of different ingredients and techniques was creative, entertaining, and delicious. Fish was the freshest I've had outside Japan and expertly cut. Even his homemade pickled baby ginger was infinitely better than the standard ginger served at regular sushi restaurants. Ambiance was peaceful and calm. 16 courses took about 2 hours, a nice pace that didn't feel slow or rushed. Empty plates were cleared and tea cups refilled quickly and efficiently at every course. I highly recommend Hihimanu's omakase.

Came here for my girlfriend’s birthday dinner since she had never tried an omakase experience before and I’m really glad I picked this place. The dinner is an 18 course set that takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. The chefs explain each dish and how best to enjoy it which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Every ingredient was super fresh with many imported from around the world. Pretty much every dish was perfectly executed and the flavors complemented each other really well, taking you on a little journey with each bite. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey, making it easy to just sit back and enjoy. The A/C was also at the perfect temperature. The servers and bussers were very attentive and cleaned up each dish as we finished, even wiping away small crumbs to keep the table spotless. I’d definitely recommend this omakase if you’re celebrating a special occasion.
Trestan N — Google review
My favorite omakase on Oahu! Not just high quality ingredients, but chef Ray deliciously balanced all the ingredients for some memorable unique flavors. Prices are reasonable for the overall experience. Friendly, fun, but professional service.
Ria H — Google review
If omakase is an art form, then Hihimanu is the gallery where every piece deserves a standing ovation. What We Ordered We went with the omakase course, and from the very first bite, it was clear this wasn’t just a meal — it was a journey. Each course flowed seamlessly into the next, with the chef carefully explaining the story behind each piece of fish. The highlights? A buttery otoro nigiri that melted instantly, a uni bite that tasted like the ocean’s best-kept secret, and a perfectly torched nigiri that nearly made me weep. Service & Atmosphere The experience feels new yet intentional. The chef and staff were welcoming, balancing professionalism with a genuine aloha spirit and a lot of witty banter. The space itself is not a typical omakase style but — it lets the food shine while still feeling special. Standout Details What really sets Hihimanu apart is the precision. The balance of flavors, the temperature of the rice, the way every piece was served at its peak — nothing felt rushed, nothing felt overlooked. You can taste the craftsmanship in every bite. Wrap-Up If you’re in Oʻahu and want a meal that’s equal parts delicious and unforgettable, the omakase at Hihimanu is the move. It’s not just sushi — it’s storytelling, hospitality, and artistry on a plate.
David H — Google review
Chef Ray makes the whole experience so much fun and definitely worth a visit. He’s very knowledgeable of all things sushi and omakase and makes a very intimate and small experience feel fun and not awkward at all. Be prepared to EAT! So much food and it’s all the most incredible sushi I’ve ever had.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Honolulu, look no further than Pau Hana Place. Nestled across from Prince Waikiki and near Ala Moana Park, this gem offers an inviting outdoor atmosphere where you can savor delicious food while enjoying live music. With two food truck-style setups, Pau Hana Place serves up authentic Hawaiian seafood and meats alongside tasty tacos, nachos, and desserts—all at surprisingly affordable prices compared to nearby resorts.
Discovered this place thanks to Mikey Chen. It's across from the Prince Waikiki hotel. I went there for an early lunch and it was pretty quiet which suits me. They offer a range of dishes but the steak and shrimp caught my eye. The steak was cooked perfectly and it was juicy. The shrimps were tasty and well sauced. The overall meal was just perfectly portioned so it was filling without feeling bloated. The setting is pretty relaxed and covered so you can eat under shade. It's near the water which has a cooling breeze. I went back a couple of days later and had some more of their dishes.

The staff was very friendly and the food came out quick. However, at this price point, the flavor left a lot to be desired. You can definitely find better food elsewhere. That being said, the atmosphere here was very relaxed with live music.
Roque C — Google review
Great food, great views of the harbor and great live music. The shave ice was more like a snow cone so I don’t recommend that, but the dole whip was phenomenal. It’s great to come and hang out before a boat excursion that departs from here as well. They have local hand made souvenirs for sale that were very cool. I personally will be back!
Shelby L — Google review
Nice outdoor dining area right by ala wai canal just after the bridge. Hidden in plain sight. A couple of food trucks serving some local takes on fast food, dessert and quick eats. Beautiful ambience and sea side harbor views. Seating is right by the water with a central stage/ performance area. Live music on some nights. This place appears to be expanding and expect more food trucks and vendors will be added soon. Food quality is reasonable and nothing stellar but the location is great for a quick lunch or dinner with wonderful views.
Amit K — Google review
The food in this place is absolutely phenomenal! The plates had so much flavor! And the ambiance was another level! Staff is super friendly too! I visited twice, and the first time they had live music on a weekend!

Interesting spot off the main road, good atnosphere and live music, but it's a tourist trap. Below average food and overpriced ($25). I asked for suggestions, and the lady gave a total attitude. Her male co-worker wasn't much better. Top it off with a surcharge for using a credit card and the tip. Guy even verbalized, "we survive off the tips." Tried garlic shrimp, but they served it without peeling it 😕 side of rice was bland, and the salad was meh. Food was room temperature. The staff wasn't friendly at all. It looks like they're giving away free smoothies for a five-star review. Honestly, I picked it for the review, but now I see why. I'm sorry I don't give 5 stars for free stuff. I travel for work and depend on reviews for guidance. This one is a 2 at best, and I don't recommend or would go back. Keep going another block to the food truck park.
Paul F — Google review
This place is an amazing find, beautiful atmosphere right on the marina, great cheap and cheerful food from two food truck type setups, one doing authentic Hawaiian seafood and meats options and the other doing tacos and nachos and deserts. Surprising as better quality and value than we had at the more expensive resort type places. Super chilled option if you don't want to be eating at the surrounding resorts. Not licensed but you can bring your own wine and cups. Kid friendly big bonus for us!
Anna D — Google review
After the lantern festival we decided to check this place out. Ordered the Kalua Nachos, sliders and tacos. Where do I begin? The tortillas in the tacos were fused, the meat was chewy and inedible. The rice was under cooked with tomato sauce. The nachos were cold and did not have the ingredients they described, used who knows that cheese it was. The pork sliders were mashed together and were soggy. Waited 37 min to get my food, and spent $67 for it to be terrible. On a brighter note, the live music was fun to watch.. I think he hummed half of the lyrics.

Diners rave about the unique and creative sushi options that are hard to find elsewhere, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The menu features standout items like the Volcano roll and Honu Kai roll, alongside delightful appetizers such as lobster bites and stuffed jalapenos—both praised for their flavor and presentation.
This is our Second time here and we absolutely love it. The food is delicious, the service was fantastic. Our waiter Adam was super friendly and very helpful. With how delicious the food is, I was kinda shocked that it wasn't busier. Really great cocktail selections and super creative sushi rolls. There are options here I have never seen before. I wish I had a bigger stomach so I could've sampled more...lol. Vietnamese summer rolls were so good that we ordered 2 sets! Volcano roll was spectacular as was the Honu Kai roll. Hiro was our server, and he was just delightful. Very sweet, friendly, and professional, and super on the ball with everything. Would definitely go back here!
Amber G — Google review
Everything is over-sauced. Honey miso sauce isn't bad but they put so much on the rolls that it is all that can be tasted. The balance of their rolls is also off. California roll was 90% crab, 10% avocado, and no cucumber; even though the menu stated it should be there. It is odd how empty the place was (~10 guests total) but the rolls were sloppily thrown together like someone gave them 30sec each to get them to a table. Eel roll had so much sauce on top that it was soaked through the whole roll, only distinguishable flavor. Lobster bites would have been excellent but, again, drowned in the dynamite sauce. Insane to pay that much for lobster and only taste the house sauce. The place seems clean enough that it won't make you sick but it is definitely not a place for good sushi.
G M — Google review
At my server's suggestion, I had the lobster bites and the stuffed jalapenos. Both were terrific. The lobster bites are bits of lobster in a light tempura with a fantastic sauce (a little spicy, think bang bang shrimp but the sauce is better). The jalapenos are strips of the peppers stuffed with cream cheese and a ton of (imitation) crab then lightly battered/fried (tempura again). I was way full after both; the appetizer is a good size to split. 😂 Great meal, great service. The server knew the menu and gave relevant details. He was attentive, quick, and friendly. If I'm ever back here in Honolulu, I'd definitely come back.

Wow, super surprised & impressed with the food, drinks, ambiance & service! The Blue Fish took over the 2nd level at Beach Walk, opposite Ruths Chris & what a gorgeous restaurant! The team is new and very friendly & outgoing. Very creative & tasty cocktail selection! But the food, WOW! Go try for yourself & see what all the fuss is about! Start with The Blue Fish Tower and a Signature Roll & chase it with a Yuzu Mai Tai!! Happy dining Cheers!

Cino is a newly opened Italian restaurant located at 987 Queen St. Ste 100 in Honolulu, Hawaii. It offers a variety of dishes including Italian cuisine, steaks, and seafood. The restaurant has received positive reviews for its exceptional service and delicious food. Customers have praised the friendly and attentive staff who take the time to explain the specialties of the day. The birthday dessert treat is also highlighted as a pleasant surprise for diners celebrating special occasions.
This was my second time dining at Cino, and it was phenomenal! First of all, the restaurant is beautiful. The decor is very upscale, and you can tell they put attention to detail into every component. Our host, Rachel, was so welcoming and friendly, and the bartender, Kipapa, took amazing care of us. He has extensive knowledge of wine and helped us find delicious pairings for our meals and made great food recommendations. The food was incredible! Everything was so fresh, and it was all just perfect. There’s nothing that could make it better! The Kumamoto oysters were so good, I could have eaten a dozen myself! The Crispy Rice was also perfection—the best I’ve ever had, beating Nobu’s by a mile! We also ordered the Charred Spanish Octopus and Salt Roasted Baby Beets. The octopus was amazingly tender, and the beet salad was the perfect palate cleanser. For mains, we had the Herb Pappardelle and the 16oz NY strip with twice-baked potatoes. The pasta was rich and flavorful, and the steak was tender with a perfect crust. But those potatoes—they were out of this world! I wish I could have buckets of them at home. They were so smooth, luxurious, and full of flavor. I’m already looking forward to the next time I can enjoy a delicious meal from Cino!

Cino is awesome! The food is delicious, with flavors that dance on your palate. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance with its fun vibe while still being tucked away for a serene experience. The knowledgeable servers are eager to recommend dishes and enhance your dining experience. The potatoes were UNBELIEVABLE. Whether a local or just visiting, Cino is a must-visit spot for a wonderful Italian meal!

Conveniently located in Ward Village/Kakaʻako, Cino is the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a date night. Two dinners and one bar visit in, and I'm already a regular customer. Must-tries: * Apps: Beef tartare and Spanish octopus - flavorful and fresh * Sides: Twice baked potato - hands down the best thing ever (like clouds of buttery mashed potatoes) and Crispy garlic potatoes - dangerously addicting * Pasta: Herb Pappardelle, crab spaghetti, and carbonara - all delicious and satisfying * Dessert: Panna cotta - my favorite dessert on the menu Cocktails? Unique, tasty, and STRONG (in a good way) Ambiance? 10/10 - classy, aesthetic, and totally TikTok/Instagram-worthy. What really made each visit special and top-tier was the staff. Huge shoutout to bartender Justin, server Romain, and manager Dillion-- all incredibly warm and attentive! I'm already planning to go back for the steak. If you haven't checked this place out yet, make a reservation. You won't regret it!

Came in on a Sunday seeking fresh pasta. We started with the beet salad 10/10 Uni Crab Spaghetti 11/10 (ide rly like crab!) Rigatoni Bolognese 10/10 Roasted Duck 9/10 Creamed spinach 8/10 Panna Cotta for desert. 11/10 (getting my own next time lol) Bill: $172 + gratuity (Worth every penny) The portions sizes were larger than we expected. Perhaps if we were drinking we may have skipped the duck.. but excited for my leftovers for lunch today! Mahalo for a delicious meal!

My wife and I eat out a lot and travel on a monthly basis. I am a bit shocked the average rating is a 4.4. Cino was excellent. It blends casual and fine dining very well. Every dish we got was excellent. The pinwheel pasta was by far our favorite. Yes, the portions are small and yes, for the portion size it IS expensive. $77 for an appetizer sized portion of pasta is a lot. DEFINITELY not Italian style portions but 1) We are in Waikiki and 2) That doesnt mean it’s not quality. I recommend you give this place a try. From drinks to apps to desserts it’s all good.
Joseph F — Google review
From the moment we opened the door, our experience was fantastic!!! Huge shout-out to our server, Dillon. Simply exceptional. We will be back. Highly recommended.
Deanna C — Google review
Execution was not on par. Food was overly seasoned. The veal was very salty. Their signature pinwheel pasta was over rated and expensive. Wine service was horrible and over priced. Overall wasn’t happy with the outcome of the dinner service.
Derrick W — Google review
I’ve had the opportunity to dine here twice; each time Dylan was our server. Dylan is incredibly friendly, charismatic and helpful with item selection and information. I can’t remember all of the things that we’ve ordered, as we tend to order a lot, but we’ve been impressed with every item that we’ve tried. My personal favorites being steak (all of them are good) and the special pinwheel truffle pasta 😋 I highly recommend sharing dishes allowing the opportunity to enjoy a variety of flavors. * Pro tip- the pinwheel pasta is very rich in flavor and makes for a nice sharing dish as opposed to a main entrée ☺️

The best poke on the island. My husband and I loved it. This meal was unbelievable and the fresh uni on top was chefs kiss. Highly recommend coming here. We ordered the trio bowls and sashimi.
Yesse P — Google review
A unique countertop stand inside the meat market at Chinatown. The poke was delicious, and add-ons like uni or salmon come with an extra charge but are worth it for the flavor. I enjoyed the spicy ahi and spicy salmon on sushi rice. The meal was packed with flavor and nicely presented. Prices are on the higher side, but the freshness of the fish makes it worthwhile. Definitely worth a visit to see what they have to offer.

High quality fish! and dare I say... the best poké I have ever had? Service is very slow as it's just two staff members working in this little shack in Oahu Market. So be prepared to wait if it's busy! I got the Choice 2 bowl, which comes with your choice of fish. I got the Ahi Limu, which was INCREDIBLY seasoned. A little salty and savory. Very fresh. The Hamachi ($1 extra) was DECADENT. So fresh and fatty!!!! I also added the Uni for $7, which was a couple pieces... but very creamy! Good quality. My bowl ended up being $30, but it was very tasty and worth the splurge.

Whole Foods Market is a haven for eco-conscious shoppers, offering a delightful array of natural and organic grocery items alongside housewares and other products. If you find yourself on Oahu's Windward side, don't miss the Kailua Town farmers market on Thursday evenings, where you can savor local delicacies like fresh ahi dinners and unique tropical fruit jellies. The staff at Whole Foods are always eager to share their favorite dining spots in the area.
Lived across the street for about 5 months and Whole Foods saved me! I love it and it’s a great location. It was always kept clean and people were nice! The food was great and I loved the cafeteria.
Tianna O — Google review
My spouse and I were killing time by tootling around the Kaka'ako area whilst dreaming of owning an apartment in one of those shiny Howard Hughes-developed condos when I spotted this new, flagship Whole Foods. While I didn't need anything, I wanted to look around inside just to see what was offered. THE STORE: The main entrance was cluttered by unprotected outdoor table seating with a few sun lovers braving the brutally hot UV rays. Just inside on the first floor was more seating, including a two level restaurant/bar called Two Tides, with the rest of the space taken up with the usual grocery inventory. The second level was more of a loft that offered additional table seating along with a few food stations. FUN FACT: Started in 1978 in Austin, TX, the original business name was SaferWay. An eventual merge with Clarksville Natural Grocery resulted in the current name. OVERALL: When and if we ever retire in Honolulu living the good lifestyle across the street, we'd be here quite often, LOL!
Maui T — Google review
Whole Foods is definitely the spot if you’re looking for healthy eats. They even got that Amazon thing going on now, I think. The store itself? Super clean, no complaints there. Parking though… sometimes can be a hassle. Now, the prices… yeah, let’s just say they hit the wallet a little harder than you’d like. The quality? Honestly, hit or miss. Some stuff is really solid, but other things? Not so much. Like the hot bar — you can literally see the oil rising, and the pizza from the hot bar (pretty sure that’s what it’s called) tastes like cardboard with toppings. Customer service for me personally feels kinda nonexistent, maybe it’s just my look [like trouble] {I can't change how my face looks} (Kalihi kid problems 🤣), but I mostly just swing by for a quick snack or something light. Overall, good for the healthy eaters and people who don’t mind paying extra, but it’s not always worth the hype
William P — Google review
Overall, I’ve been using this location for at least three years. It is a good location that is close by and has convenient on site parking that is free. It has a huge selection of great produce, protein, etc… My issue is with customer service as of late. I’ve never had an issue and they were always very friendly, helpful and kind. However, in the last couple months, it has taken a sharp nosedive overall. The main area I’ve had personal experiences that were horrible were at the deli that were fairly rude to not just me but other customers. On one day, I was just straight up ignored for minutes before I just gave up and walked away. If they had even acknowledged that I was there and said to give them a minute, that would have been something but they just straight-up pretended I wasn’t standing there and being a tall person, it’s not like I was hiding. Overall, still it’s probably the physically nicest Whole Foods I’ve been too. I wish they carried more unique or local stuff (like Down to Earth Organic), but it is still good. And many of the folks working there are still great, just hope they shift direction with a lot of the newly hired folks.
Brian P — Google review
I have been shopping at whole foods for years in Honolulu and in the mainland. I am in the store 3 times a week. I gave this location 3 stars because the food bars are not maintained. There are always empty pans because the staff is not attentive enough to anticipate usage. I have often waited for hot and cold items to be refilled. I've even tried to buy soup and the container is empty. The produce and meat/fish sections are well maintained. I always pick up bakery items on my way to work for my staff. Parking is ample and the signage in the garage alerts you to how many parking spaces are available. The staff in general is somewhat helpful.
Sharlene W — Google review
It was our first time visiting Whole Foods Market. My wife wanted to buy shopping bags, but I was surprised to discover the soup corner. I poured myself a 6oz cup of clam chowder and was so happy—especially because this soup wasn’t available at ABC Stores. That made me even happier!
Takeshi K — Google review
I came this morning to pick up a couple of smoothies for my daughters. Previously, I had been to the Whole Foods in Kakaʻako and remembered ordering a small 8oz smoothie, not realizing that the Kakaʻako location was serving Lanikai Juice rather than their own café. I asked if they had a size smaller than 16oz, as I remembered from Kakaʻako. A male employee at the counter told me the smallest size was 16oz but offered to put it in a smaller cup. I then asked if he could split it into two cups for my daughters, and he just went silent and rolled his eyes—extremely rude. Thankfully, his colleague stepped in and handled the request kindly, providing excellent service and making the situation right. However, I feel it’s important to highlight this incident, as having such poor and unprofessional behavior from a staff member is unacceptable, especially in a place with otherwise high standards.
Barbara M — Google review
I usually love Whole Foods and have always had a positive experience with the staff, items, and atmosphere. Recently though, my friends and I felt racially profiled when an older couple repeatedly accused us of stealing in the hot food area and even involved security. We were simply trying to get lunch before studying, and the situation left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. We are young women who come here often with no problems, so this was disappointing and ruined what is usually an enjoyable experience.

Good food and impressive service. They will provide a personalized and signed menu for customers celebrating birthday or anniversary here. I tired their menu tasting, which costs $95 per person. It included an appetizer, 3 entrees and 1 dessert. I like the 3 entrees best, especially short rib. We also exchanged one of our desserts to coconut icecream, but that one is not really impressive.

My sister and I joined my best friend and his partner for a valentine's dinner here. They have a special menu set for valentine's and the food, pictures I've added, were delicious. It cost $105 for the dinner and $155 to add wine pairing which was perfect. The service by Mike was amazing - he's attentive, easy to talk to and funny. There is valet parking so you don't have to fuss. However, it costs $7 😆 🙄

Average food. Not even comparable to Roy's which beats this hands down easily. Excellent service though. The lobster bisque was probably the best thing we had. The seafood dumplings were dry and flavorless. The beef rib dish was more like a pot roast, nothing special. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but again nothing wowed me about it. The chocolate cake was way too airy and just had a basic cocoa taste to it, nothing rich nor unique.

Try the tasting menu, it's a wonderful way to try a few dishes for a decent price but the whole table must order the tasting menu.

The atmosphere was perfect. The service was impecable and the food was awesome. The portions are the correct size (if not a bit on the larger one). Their drink selection is cool. The location is a bit hard to find. The desserts are creative - they rebuilt a coconut using chocolate and coconut ice cream.

Just the best experience on our anniversary. Simply the best Prix fixe dinner ever! The servers were very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and very attentive. The staff even signed our menu to celebrate our anniversary.

As far as the Honolulu food scene goes, Alan Wong's is one of the better places you could visit for for a great meal and experience. From the time you enter the restaurant, the service is fantastic. The restaurant itself feels modern despite being around for so long. The food... The food is innovative, yet captures classic flavors and simply captivates the palate. All in all the experience here from the service to the food is spectacular.

bEASTside Kitchen is a delightful find near Hanauma Bay, offering delicious local food and a laid-back atmosphere. The soft opening stage is over, and the restaurant is now fully operational. The menu features mouthwatering options like pork belly buns, tofu soba noodles, garlic shrimp, guava garlic chicken, oyster shooters, and pastele nachos. The three combo plate with fried shrimp, pork belly, and guava chicken is highly recommended.
We stopped by without doing any research, and everything exceeded our expectations! The restaurant and restroom were immaculately clean. The service was awesome! We visited around 10 am on a Wednesday and although there was only one server, Jon, he handled everything efficiently. Jon greeted us warmly, showed us to our table, and took our order. He even apologized for the wait, although we didn't feel like we'd been waiting long. As more customers arrived, Jon continued to check on us regularly. I was thoroughly impressed! The food portions were generous and we enjoyed both the guava fried chicken and BBQ pork belly. However I highly recommend the BBQ pork belly!! it was incredibly tender and flavorful! While the food may have been served a bit slowly, it was clear that each dish was freshly made and served with care

Came here for the first time with my friend. I ordered the 3 choice combo plate (pork belly, umami shrimp, and bbq guava fried chicken). It bit pricey, but the plate is packed. The pork belly was super tender and tasted similar to Big City Diner guava ribs. The umami shrimp was super delicious and garlicky. The boa guava fried chicken was probably the best entree. It was very crispy yet packed with flavor and juiciness. I didn't really taste any guava flavor, but it was more on the Korean Fried Chicken from Zippys taste. The staff is fast and friendly. Lots of parking and lots of tables to dine at.

Friends have recommended this place before, so a group of us tried it for lunch. It will not disappoint if you are a fan of loco moco and/or pork belly! Everyone was full and more than satisfied after eating here... Will be back again for sure!

We went for lunch on a Friday as a group of 4. Service was quick and friendly, but the restaurant was not packed. Maybe 6 tables. We ordered nachos and the cold spicy tofu. The others in our group ordered furikake ahi and guava chicken. Portions for all were large. The cold spicy tofu was good, and had a nice crunchy Umami oil on it, but the kimchi was not good. It was a little watery and not much flavor, even for fresh kimchi. The nachos were good, but the chips reminded me of basic grocery store bagged chips. Freshly fried tortilla chips would have made this dish so much better. Overall we left happy; our bill with 2 Ohana plates, an oyster shooter, and waters was $51.

The food was good with generous portions, but the kitchen was running slow. The place was full probably to an event with a fantastic live band called "Last Minute". The music was so good and everybody had an incredible, fun vibe that made the wait completely worthwhile. I highly recommend coming for the music and the atmosphere.

Easily the best meal we ate on the island. Guava chicken and garlic shrimp were perfect. Service was stellar. Kind of tucked back in an odd location but dont let it fool you. Food was super rich and we shared a plate. Was perfect before our ridge hike. Prices were decent. Not cheap but normal for the area. Delicious!

Nestled in a vibrant setting, 12th Ave Grill & DeliCafe is a contemporary eatery that beautifully marries Hawaiian flavors with New American cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for gatherings with friends or family. Guests are welcomed with housemade bread and refreshing drinks like the delightful watermelon Rita, which features a unique salt and sugar rim. The menu boasts creative dishes such as their standout B.L.T.
This is a hidden gem. Plenty of parking near by. Walked in on a Friday night with immediate service. Well spaced out tables and very clean. Staff is exceptionally attentive and present. Prices are totally reasonable. Artichoke dip was very tasty and comes in a large dish as an appetizer. Cesar Brussel spouts are amazing. Unmatched. Great preparation and flavor. Mac n cheese had strong flavor with rich creamy sauce. Large portion for a side, hot, gooey and delicious. Cheeseburger with fries was delicious. Burger was cooked to order and served hot and fresh. Fries were fresh made in house, fried crispy with light salt. Great compliment to the burger. Lemonade was strong and tasty.

We're still in a pandemic, but our State allows for restaurant dine-in, and if possible, we're opting for outdoor patio dining. In the case of 12th Ave Grill's outdoor dining, we were seated under a tent in the parking lot. Ok, so it wasn't as scenic as our recent dine at Hau Tree, nor were we breathing in fresh-smelling ocean breezes as every so often, we'd get a whiff of car exhaust but, it was still pleasant. We felt safe with the social distancing and the restaurant's compliance with COVID-19 health safety protocols. Speaking of parking, we lucked out with nearby metered street parking free after 6 PM, but there is a lot of parking in the Kaimukī Municipal Parking lot behind this restaurant. Before our reservation, the restaurant contacted us to confirm our reservation and contact tracing information. Upon arrival, a friendly host greeted and checked us in and escorted us to our table under the tent. Our server, Tiva, cheerfully brought us beverage and dinner menus to look over as she went back to get us glasses of iced water and eating utensils. We started our dine with their signature Old Fashioned and Manhattan and broke into our appetizers of Smoked Ahi Dip with crudités and crostini and Fried Tako (octopus) Tentacle with papas bravas and salsa verde. The smoked ahi dip was in a generously-filled bowl. Tiva recommended ordering their fresh baked bread and focaccia with Mānoa honey butter because the crostini and crudités might not be enough. The dip was tasty but not outstanding. However, the Fried Tako (octopus) Tentacle was superior to us. The tentacle was tender with a crisp fried exterior. It was flavorful and paired well with the salsa verde. FOOD: -Zozzona: House-made pappardelle, homemade sausage, cremini mushroom, porcini mushroom, tomato cream sauce. Generously portioned, perfect al dente cooked fresh pasta in this luscious and "meaty" sauce. The sauce was slightly sweet but not annoyingly. Also, the sweet creaminess allowed the tomato fruitiness to come through without an acidic bite. $24 -Seared Fresh Diver Scallops: 3-beautifully seared U-10 diver scallops were served atop a leek and celery root purée and garnished with wilted kale. The golden seared crust was impressive and cutting into the melt-in-your-mouth, naturally sweet, buttery-tasting opaque ball of shellfish was delightful. Another delightful touch was their plating of these perfectly seared scallops ATOP the purée rather than putting a sauce over the golden-brown crust and losing its crust to steaming. I could only finish one and a half scallops because they were so rich and I was enjoying the leek and celeriac purée. For me, I think they were a tad bit overly salted for my taste buds. $32 -Roasted Beets Carpaccio: This salad was composed of tender roasted slices of red and golden beets. It was topped with shaved fennel, Feta cheese, and bacon bread croutons and dressed with a light citronette. The combination of flavors and textures in this salad made for very favorable tastes and mouthfeel. We liked the roasted beets' consistency as the slices were tender-cooked and not mushy. $12 -Chocolate-Haupia Pie: We pushed our limit by ordering dessert and coffee. Although we like the flavors of chocolate and haupia (Hawaiian coconut pudding), we were a bit disappointed in 12th Ave Grill's house-made version. Whipped cream topped the soft chocolate layer, which didn't seem to match the firmer coconut pudding. But, we respect that was their version. $8 Our leisurely dine lasted about 2 hours, we appreciated the pace between the kitchen and service of course. Tiva checked with us frequently. The bussers were unobtrusive in clearing our table and refilling our water glasses and coffee mugs. When we got our bill, we were a bit surprised to find a charge for the bread but, maybe we should've expected it as an extra because looking around, there weren't many others who got bread with dinner. Still, it would've been more forthcoming to just say so when suggesting bread service. Tsk, we we're looking forward t

You can always count on great food and vibes here. Last night I had a watermelon Rita. It was a daily special and it was delicious with both a salt and sugar rim. So, I had another. We always start with the ahi spread and the burrata. Last night we also got the tentacles, which I wouldn’t get again. And, we had some daily special oysters. The burger and fries were amazing. The fries are skinny and a little crispy, exactly the wAy I like them. My husband and I split the meal which was perfect. We finished with the lilikoi creme brûlée with lime short bread crumbles. For sure the best dessert I’ve had in awhile.

I was invited to have dinner with some friends at the 12th Ave Grill. I have to say first that the atmosphere was so inviting. When we walked in, we were very warmly greeted by the hostess. Our party hadn't arrived yet, so they seated my husband and I at the bar. They immediately gave us some house made bread and water. Several people behind the bar greeted us. When we arrived at our table we were send an appetizer that was new and no one had ever tried before. It was a crab cake with pickled vegetables. Let me tell you... it was amazing! So fresh! Long story short, we ordered drinks that were very yummy. Fried calamari with a tomato chutney, ahi bruschetta, pork chop with a potato pancake, framers market salad, the brownie ala mode and affagato. It was all amazing! We will be back. And I highly recommend this place for good food and a fun atmosphere.

Dinner was great! The hostess was able to seat us right away even though we came 20 minutes early, and also accommodated us by seating us inside (we were originally supposed to sit outside). The inside of the restaurant was comfortable and modern looking. Table seating was also well-spaced apart. I really enjoyed our food! The standout for me was the oysters on a half shell and the citrus sauce. That sauce will make your face pucker, but it's soo good! I finished off my oysters, then we continued to drink just the sauce off a spoon lol. My husband really enjoyed his duck on a bed of spinach, with tomatoes, potatoes, Fuji apple compote, and pancetta. I ended up getting the pork chop with apple compote, and potato pancake with horseradish creme fraiche. The key lime cheesecake bread pudding was also delicious. I would definitely come here again to try other items on their menu. My only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because they ran out of shrimp (2 dishes that I initially wanted to order had shrimp), but we were not informed right away when given the menu.

LOVE the deli, very smart pivot idea. The Hubs and I went to grab lunch. Ate there. You can choose indoor or outdoor dining. Very clean. The sandwiches...wow...so delish and totally fills you up. The BLT was a little pricey but we wanted to "sample" it and decided to splurged. All in all a lot of good choices on the menu, well be back to sample some more😊

I hadn't dined at 12th Ave Grill in quite a while so I was looking forward to great comfort food. We started with a couple of cocktails and their Aina Charcuterie board... mmm, good except the rillette was very stiff. We shared a divine Pappardelle "Zozzona"; I wanted the dish to myself. Entrees were the fried lamb chops (think lightly breaded tonkatsu) and their famous pork chop. The lamb was delicious but the pork chop was a little firm for me, I would have liked it taken off the grill sooner. We had a bottle of 2018 Broadside cab, a nice wine after letting open up. It turned out to be a dining adventure because the power went out prior to receiving our entrees. Perhaps that was the reason my pork chop was firm; I'd like to think so because the food here has always been "perfect".

Sabrozon Mexican Food Truck is a must-visit in Waikiki, Hawaii. Despite its humble food truck setting, it offers some of the best Mexican food you'll ever taste. The owner adds to the experience with her warm and friendly demeanor. The menu features delicious options like nachos, shrimp fajitas, mahi mahi tacos, street corn, steak burritos, and spicy pork quesadillas.
This is my second time coming here, and each time I feel so taken care of by the people here. They are always kind, friendly, and accomodating and they check on you to make sure you have everything you need. The food here is SO GOOD! Today, I had these delicious enchiladas that came out hot and fresh with melty cheese alongside rice and beans. I was so satisfied with the flavors, portion, and presentation of this meal. The plantains were juicy and flavorful with a yummy sweet crema. Last time, I had the simple bean and cheese burrito and couldn't even finish it because it was so huge. That was a delicious deal. There's a few shaded tables in the back and one sunny table to the side. Overall, give this place a try if you want to eat some delicious Mexican food made by kind people.

Absolutely love this food truck with seating in Kakaako! The staff is always very friendly and the food is authentic and DELICIOUS. I started eating before I snapped a pic so it doesn’t quite do it justice. The esquites are 11/10 delicious. I also love to smother my enchiladas in their avocado salsa. There is covered seating behind the truck as well with four large tables with umbrellas. Portion sizes are respectable, always some leftovers left to take home. I would rate it the best Mexican food in Kakaako by far.

Good Mexican food is severely underrepresented on the island, but Sabrozon Fresh Mexican Food Truck is a true standout. This is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve found so far. The carne asada fries were legit, loaded with flavor and a generous amount of meat, while the burritos were hearty and well-balanced. They offer a great variety of options, with portion sizes that actually satisfy. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity, and everything is cooked fresh within a reasonable timeframe, even during busy hours. If you’ve been craving authentic-tasting Mexican food in Hawaii, this truck should be at the very top of your list.

My wife got the fish and shrimp tacos, I got the Asada Bowl and we also shared some steak nachos. Way too much food but really good! Wish they had a salsa Verde and not avocado salsa for the green salsa but that is just my preference. Service was fast, food good and reminded me of good mexican food trucks I have had many times. I will be back!!!

✅20250117 very good. Very filling. Order slowly/staggered. Green onion pancake. Taro pancake. Lamb fried rice (I liked it! My first time having lamb fried rice!) Mongolian naan (thicker and crispy shell with powdered cumin topping) was good. Pork belly skewers. Whole shrimp. Chicken thighs. Portabello skewers. Grilled Eggplant dish was amazing! My fave out of all the dishes. Ordered all mild but still had a slight kick to it but not overbearing. Beef skewers with normal spice Homemade pineapple spicy condiment & chili powder complimentary for dipping. Complimentary shared dessert of snow fluffy milk ice with choice syrup topping chocolate, melon or pineapple. Excellent tag team service. Everything was delicious & served in perfect temp! Limited free shared parking lot. Takes credit cards. Bathroom key needed to go outside and around the back for access. Definite recommend. 👍👍

🔥 Khan Skewer is a flavor-packed gem in Honolulu! 🔥 If you love bold BBQ, fresh seafood, and sweet treats, this place hits every craving! We started with their amazing skewers — lamb, beef and chicken grilled to smoky perfection 🐑🥩🍗. Then came the fresh seafood 🦪🦐 — the clams, shrimp, and scallops were juicy, tender and full of flavor! But the surprises didn’t stop there….Their traditional Chinese buns with condensed milk are a total must-try! 🥯✨ Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and that sweet condensed milk drizzle? Pure comfort food heaven 💛. To cool it all down, we had the snow shave ice 🍧 — light, icy and bursting with flavor. The liliko‘i (passion fruit) flavor was tangy, tropical and so refreshing 🌺🍍. Friendly service, fast kitchen and a menu full of hidden gems. Khan Skewer is more than just BBQ — it’s a full flavor experience! 🙌🍢🍤🥯🍧

Overall good place to get skewers. The pork, lamb, and venison skewers all tasted great. We mushroom medley and fried rice was good too. The eggplant and dumplings were just ok. Paradise Poke Hawaii - Nuuanu is a charming poke restaurant with a variety of delectable options. The short ribs are particularly noteworthy, offering a flavorful experience despite being slightly fatty. The menu features items like salmon katsu and award-winning poke bowls, including garlic-infused varieties. The staff is known for their energetic and helpful demeanor, adding to the overall positive dining experience. Generous servings and friendly service make this spot a must-visit in Nuuanu.
First visit here. The employee at the front was really kind in helping us order. We tried the spicy salmon bowl. It was delicious! A great balance of flavors, and the fish tasted fresh! From a tourist perspective, i think this bowl offers a relatively safe option to try some great poke if you're not the most adventurous eater. I happen to love salmon poke and spicy mayo so this was the perfect bowl for me. I would have eaten here every day of our visit if it had been up to me haha.

I inhaled my two choice poke bowl so fast it felt like a fever dream. The Saigon Cru Ahi was absolutely phenomenal- spicy and complex witj coconut milk and lemongrass, and paired well with the comparatively milder and creamier spicy ahi. The greens were fresh and the rice was good. I ordered online and it was super easy and fast to pick it up, and the staff were very friendly. Would love to try their tasty looking onigiri and musubi next time too, and so many other poke flavors like yuzu scallops and the more classic green scallion ahi! They've also got Hawaiian combo bowls and some fully cooked options for those who cannot partake in raw seafood :)

Poke is always fresh and their sushi rice is amazing. A little expensive but I always come back! Definitely recommend. Indoor space is very small UPDATE: had their baked salmon plate today. Super tasty! Definitely worth a try! Mac salad is really good (a little too creamy for my taste but it was still delicious). Someone before me got the short ribs, and they smelled amazing. I think this will be my next plate!

Paradise Poke is a must-visit spot for poke lovers! We grabbed two poke bowls to enjoy on the beach, and they were absolutely fantastic. The fresh ahi was marinated to perfection, and the toppings like seaweed, pickled veggies, and crunchy bits added great texture and flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked, providing a solid base for all the delicious ingredients. Eating with the ocean view just made the experience even better. The portions were generous and the quality was top-notch. Highly recommend Paradise Poke for a fresh and tasty meal by the sea!

Paradise Poke Hawaii has always given the best customer service since when they first opened their nuuanu location. They give back to their community with such generous hearts and their food is delicious. I think it’s the rice they use and their nori. I’m always leaving super happy. Sometimes I don’t know if I go there for the food, or for the good vibe. Maybe both. But I can always count on them to put a smile on my face and everything on their menu is delicious!! What a wonderful company who gives back and also supports other local small vendors. This is why I’m a regular here and visit all their locations.

Happened to be in Nuuanu and found a gem of a poke restaurant! Honestly I had a difficult time trying to figure out what I should try since I read online that the garlic noodles were great, but they had so many poke options... so I went with their special Tataki Bowl! It took a bit of time to make but it was delicious! I'm not an onion person but I ended up eating it all! Their rice was high quality as well. Staff there were SO friendly and nice that this place is highly recommended. Check it out if you can!

We came here when we were in town visiting a friend. Had a great experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure our food came out quickly and that we enjoyed it, made some delicious drinks and spent some time talking to us and giving us some great ideas of activities we could do around the island! The drinks were strong and delicious so watch out LOL. Also, the decor was super cute with puffer fish hanging from the ceiling. I would recommend it for sure!

We dropped in to grab a bite around 5pm on a drizzling Sunday as we were keen to try some traditional flavours. When we arrived the place was less than half full. As it was happy hour we grabbed the cocktail specials which were a good deal at $7... If you are there during happy hour be sure to take a look at the happy hour dishes as well as you can grab a good deal. We tried the Kalua pig fried rice, the burger sliders and the fried tofu. Food was tasty, especially the fried rice. Happy to recommend.

The service was good and the location is fine, but the price of the food with the serving size was too small. We have eaten many places and had high quality meals with larger portions and paid less. We spent almost $75 and left hungry. The beef tacos cost as much as the 5 ounce steak and were basically hamburger and very small.

Stopped in this afternoon on my way home from the drugstore and was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced it is compared to many eateries in Honolulu. “Chaz” waited on me; she was very personable as well as attentive. Today I only ordered the Edamame and Iced Tea, but the multiple menus are extensive and varied, including plenty of options for both the “meat and potatoes” and “fish and veggies” crowds. There are “special” prices for every time of day and night. I noticed another diner’s food and it looked delicious. Note that there is Karaoke, Comedy, and live music on various nights. Highly recommend Pupu House for both tourists and locals…it will definitely become a regular stop for me in the neighborhood. The menu posted is the afternoon specials only, there are separate menus for every time of day/night/

Went in looking for the restaurant that used to be here and found the Pupu House. Eddie took great care of us at the bar. I’ve eaten at Uncle Bo’s, and when we found out that this was one of his restaurants, we had to try it. It is amazing! We had the spicy shrimp appetizer, coconut shrimp appetizer, and some leme ahi poke appetizer. All amazing. Then we had the local fish special, and it was to die for. Uncle Bo was actually in the kitchen and we got to meet him. Very nice chef and very friendly with us. Eddie brought out a desert he called a hobo, which was a basket of beignets, a liquor sauce based on amoretto and honey whiskey and vanilla lol ice cream. We were all so full from dinner, but this was incredible. We all had 2 beignets each. This place is incredible, food from the famous chef Uncle Bo, and great service from Eddie. Can’t wait to go back and I can say this is one of the best meals in Waikiki. Go there! Update 03/24. The menu has changed and they removed most of the really great dishes from Uncle Bo’s other restaurant to focus on Pupu. I was so disappointed when we ate there this week! The amazing food is now just normal bar food like wings, nachos and fried rice. Tasty, but not like the amazing fish dish pictured above. Back to the yard house I guess.

Restaurant
Located at 2919 Kapiolani Blvd. Ste 201B in Honolulu, Hawaii, FUN STATION offers a delightful dining experience with its Chinese and seafood cuisine. The friendly and attentive staff ensure a comfortable visit, while the tasty dishes like flying noodles and crispy pork ribs are presented thoughtfully for an enjoyable meal. Customers appreciate the hospitable service and flavorful food, making it a great spot to unwind after a day at the beach.
Update: we’ve returned again with friends from mainland. We tried several different dishes, such as bitter Mellon with eggs, thousand year old egg porridge, fish egg fun, flying noodles with beef and stir-fries Chinese broccoli (芥蘭)。 They were all very good and the service here remained friendly and caring. This is a great find in a tiny neighborhood strip mall, mere minutes from Waikiki. After today’s lunch, this place ranks as my favorite Chinese restaurant in Honolulu for comfort food. It serves Chaozhou styled food with a lot of stewed dishes (潮洲滷味)and other Cantonese dishes. We had the pork belly & intestine combo rice and chicken over cake noodle. The intestines were fried to perfection and the stewed pork was also very tasty, all served with fresh Chinese greens over a heap of rice. The chicken over cake noodle was also very tasty and we haven’t seen anything like it in Hawaii or California. For starter/desert, we tried the sesame cake balls that were delicious as well. The parking can be tight, but you should be able to find a space. The service was very friendly and quick. We are definitely coming back since it’s only a few minutes drive from home and so many items on the menu that we’d like to try.

Straightforward, authentic, and very delicious. Flavor was excellent and our three dishes were all very well cooked. Cabbage with the pork belly was especially outstanding. Squab was a first for us and really nicely cooked. Noodles with beef were addictive. Good serving sizes. Price was more than some other Chinese restaurants, but quality was higher as well.

Fun Station - A Mixed Bag of Flavors Stopped by Fun Station with high hopes and mixed results. The Beef Chow Sun is an absolute winner - I'd give it a solid 9.5/10 and would recommend it to anyone craving a delicious meal. The Crispy Pork Spirits were also impressive, scoring a 9/10. However, the Minute Chicken with Cake Noodles was a bit disappointing. The noodles were far from crispy, and the overall flavor fell flat compared to other dishes I've tried. Pro tip: Check in on Yelp and grab their amazing deal - 6 mini sesame balls for just $1.50! These little treats are definitely worth it. Service was decent, and the menu offers good variety. While not every dish hit the mark, there are definitely some standout options that make Fun Station worth a visit. Recommended: Beef Chow Sun, Crispy Pork Spirits, Sesame Balls Skip: Minute Chicken with Cake Noodles Tip: Come hungry and ready to explore the menu!

This spot is a great option for both lunch and dinner. Whenever my friend and I are in the area and craving Chinese food—especially noodles—this place is one of our top choices. We always enjoy the flying noodles or the mixed wide noodles—they’re such a flavorful combo. We also tried the Brine Mixed Plate and Crispy Spareribs, which are perfect for sharing if you’re in the mood for something meatier. Highly recommend!

Met the owner on the night we were eating, he definitely put his heart in this restaurant. Excellent food, especially their home made fish ball and beef stew. Favor wise excellent, our baby love their fun noodles, chewy but tasty. The portions were a good amount for the price. If you looking for a unique Chinese restaurant this will definitely be your spot. Highly recommend this location and we will be back the next time we visit Honolulu!

The pork liver soup is absolutely amazing. Also, there’s a ton of pork, all perfectly tender and not overdone, in this soup. I got added, for a fee, some vegetables. My companion got the chicken fried rice and it was nice and mild and filling, and very subtly flavorful, too. Service is attentive, but doesn’t hover, which is good. Also, there was no loud, annoying music playing. Yay. Quite a number of tables, probably about 10 in total, but the restaurant gets busy later, as the evening passes. Byob !

Food was really good, we came back a second time. Pretty close to Waikīkī if u have a car. Food was hot & big servings & very well priced for the area. Definitely recommend & glad we found this place last minute.

WOW. The flying noodle when we went had a sweet beef and delicious pickles — something I never would have tried if I had picked off a menu, but a very very delicious choice. We also got the beef chow fun and it was great! Great char flavor. Missing a bit of sweetness but overall absolutely delicious. I will be back next time I’m on Oahu!

Lunch restaurant
Feast by Jon Matsubara has gained popularity for its Instagram-famous lobster roll, which was initially a special but is now a daily offering due to its success. The four-ounce chilled lobster meat mixed with dashi-and soy umami mayo is served on toasted Kings Hawaiian rolls with scallions, dill, and Shinsato Farms Meyer lemon juice, accompanied by shoestring fries. Online ordering is convenient, although there were delays in receiving updates.
Amazing LOBSTER ROLL….. after in the Maine after in Massachusetts after in the Keys after in Florida again …Hawaii. A few words after my experience => we’ll come back in Friday (march 21th) 😋🫠😁

Had lunch here and came for the Salt Beef Watercress Soup. Possibly my favorite beef soup ever! Also had a nice hibiscus tea which is unsweetened but they have simple syrup if you’d like. Also Sake is amazing!!! Highly recommend and will be back asap
Jae W — Google review
Online ordering was very easy and I ordered my food the night before. I opted to get text updates but only got an update that my food will be 15 mins later than the original pick up time I had chosen. I did not get a message that my food was ready so I just walked in the restaurant and they already had my package sitting in the pick up area. It was my first time eating a lobster roll sandwich so I really don't have anything compared to, but it was yummy and made me want to try lobster rolls from other restaurants! My parents also liked the chicharrones. However, I wasn't a fan of JFC.... it seemed dry and the chicken was a little tough. I would visit the restaurant again to try their burger and other dishes!
Helen H — Google review
No nonsense, delicious food. This isn’t the fancy night out… it’s just great fresh food. Fist lobster roll I’ve had in Hawai’i. Definitely going back to try some other dishes.
Jeff N — Google review
So far, in my top 3 of lobster rolls on the island. Also went on Cheese Steak Saturday. I'm not sure if it's an every Saturday special or a hit or miss. Either way, it was delicious! It was made with good quality steak and a ton of gooey melty cheese! I wish the lobster roll was a little more meaty for the price, so that's why it gets a one star hit. Both sandwiches came with well seasoned shoestring style fries. They are a hit, but you have to eat them fresh because they cool quickly! All in all, I look forward to going back to try the other stuff on the menu!
Ondirae R — Google review
The lobster 🦞 roll was BOMB!!! Loaded with meat and flavor was the perfect balance - not too overpowering, so you still got the fresh taste of lobster, but hint of dill, lemon, chive. Love the shoestring fries. Was a bit disappointed with the side salad/dressing.
Angelica W — Google review
Lobster Roll pretty good. Nice chunks of claws in there with a subtle dressing. Straight forward sandwich. Not a shoe string fries guy myself but at least it came with it. I liked what they're doing with the menu and adaptive service. Menu is nice and simple and I will continue to support. Good job guys and good luck!

Sushi Matsuri offers fantastic sushi that exceeds expectations, especially for a food court setting. The high-quality sushi, made with soy sauce and rice from Japan, is reasonably priced. The staff provides great service and the food is served quickly. Customers love the fresh and generous portions of salmon nigiri, California roll, and salmon roll. Despite being a bit pricey, the delicious sushi and excellent service make it worth visiting.
The food was incredibly tasty — every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From the spicy garlic edamame to the creative rolls, everything was top-notch. The atmosphere was just as impressive. The interior is stylish and serene, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable meal. Whether you’re going for a special night out or just craving good sushi, this place delivers on every level. We enjoyed it so much and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this sushi restaurant! The food was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, every bite was a delight. The variety of sushi, including the perfectly prepared nigiri and creative rolls, was impressive, and the takoyaki and eel dishes were standout favorites. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place to any sushi lover, definitely worth a visit, but it will cost you.

Sushi Matsuri is a true hidden gem—packed with rich flavor, deep umami, and a level of care that really sets it apart. The service was incredibly attentive, and even toward the end of the night, the food came out quickly without sacrificing quality—clear signs that consistency and excellence are core values here. I went with the beef soup, which was deeply flavorful and comforting. The 3-piece inari was another standout—each pocket generously stuffed, with just the right balance between the wrapper and the perfectly seasoned rice. The proteins inside were beautifully paired, elevating every bite. A must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable, high-quality Japanese meal in Hawaii.

Good place! It is located in a food hall, one floor below street level. We went at night, we were seated right away. We went for a roll and some nigiris. Everything came out super fast. Roll: very fresh, nice. Nigiris: excellent Would go back if in the area!

This is a really good eel bowl. i finished it so quick. portions are pretty small. this definitely is a good lunch portion. Miso soup was tasty, might be little bland for my palette. The egg custard is probably my favorite. its silky and smooth and seasoned well! Also the wasabi is pretty strong I was silly and mixed it up too much haha

TLDR: value for the price is phenomenal, decent sushi but so good price for Waikiki We ate an early dinner around 4:45 and they let us order from the lunch menu until 5pm, which was very generous. My friends got the chirashi which they enjoyed and I got the shrimp tempura rice bowl which for $13 was 5 pieces of lightly breaded nicely sweet shrimp with just enough sauce to go with two veggies and rice, also came with miso soup. Four people’s food came out to under $100 before tip and it was well worth it, especially for the location on the main strip of Waikiki

Immediately the best garlic shrimp I've had on Oahu. I like the head and shell on, so Romy's is usually my go-to for garlic shrimp. But sometimes they over cook their shrimp. Amy's is perfectly cooked and the Kauai shrimp seem fresher and sweeter

Threadfin Bistro is a new and highly recommended restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii. It offers a small prix fixe menu with additional appetizer options and has a cozy, speak-easy-like vibe. The staff are accommodating and the food is carefully prepared and presented. Guests can bring their own wine to complement the delicious meal. Chef Jason's talent with seafood shines through in the dishes offered at this lovely bistro, which opened on September 23rd.
Loved the food here at Threadfin! Small quaint bistro located at Kilohana Square, just make to enter from the rear. The prefix menu selection was great! I do highly recommend getting the escargot but it’s with Kona abalone as a starter which is an add-on but with the cognac butter sauce was amazing!
Greg D — Google review
The Abalone from extra dishes menu was excellent! It was so yum! I enjoyed the Burrata salad - that was a 10/10 salad. Other dishes were good. But I felt the pace of the dishes were very rushed… I sat down at 620pm, and was in my Uber going back to the city at 728pm… just under an hour for the whole experience… Felt like a fast food chain with really good food than a restaurant serving proper 3 course menu. The experience was let down by the service. To be fair, the two girls in front of house worked really hard to attend to everyone. Unfortunately, I felt like they were missing a lot of the fine details in services. They were so occupied with clearing the tables, fetching the bills, placing orders, and bringing plates of food to the room packed with people. The whole experience would be more personal and memorable if they had another person there sharing the load. I really want to LOVE my experience at Threadfin. But I walked away feeling disappointed…

Howard's Hawaii, located at 1100 Alakea St. Ste 103 in Honolulu, offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious desserts, seafood, and breakfast & brunch options. The restaurant is known for its warm and friendly service provided by the owners Traci and Troy who ensure a clean and tidy environment while making guests feel welcome. The menu features a variety of tasty dishes including tomato bisque, salad, chicken luau, and strawberry ice cream slushy.
O'ahu is filled with amazing eats and hole in the walls. However, inch for inch, all things considered, Howard's tops them all. COVID-19: Traci and Troy wear masks at all times, and keep Howard's clean and tidy. SERVICE: Traci and Troy, the owners, are the nicest, friendliest, and warmest people you can come across. They are so welcoming, they make friends with everyone in the building. RESTAURANT: Howard's is a tiny, unassuming spot. It is located on the ground floor (NOT lobby floor) of 1100 Alakea Street, a high rise business building in Downtown Honolulu. It is easy to miss because it is tucked in a corner on the side of escalators, opposite the elevators and to the left of the escalators when walking in the front doors of the building. Howard's is take-out only without any seating, but you can sit outside in the building's courtyard or at tables down the block. FOOD: The menu changes every day. It typically includes salads, sandwiches, a daily soup, and a daily main entree. All of the salad dressings are homemade and amazing. My favorite is the blue cheese. The soups range from lobster bisque to clam chowder to seafood gumbo. They are thick, earthy, and soul-warming. The entrees range from furikake salmon to chicken luau to kalua pork nachos. Every dish is homemade and reminds you of eating at your mom's house. You can taste the love and care in every bite, including the side dishes. The preparation and execution is spot on. The portions are generous and leave you feeling happy and satiated. OVERALL: I've eaten Howard's around fifteen times and I've loved every dish! I love supporting these locals and feeling their love. Stop by Howard's for your lunch hour in Downtown or to grab food for the beach. They also provide catering, which is just as quality as the regular menu!
