Wedding bakery
Leonard's Bakery has been a beloved local establishment since 1952, renowned for its malasadas, Portuguese donuts that are slightly crispier and chewier than traditional doughnuts. The bakery's influence extends beyond Hawaii, with franchises in Japan. Visitors can savor these delectable treats at scenic locations on the island during guided tours or simply stop by the bakery to indulge in a variety of flavors, from classic custard-filled to tropical-inspired options.
On our friends’ recommendation, we came here to try the malasadas. We arrived about 10 minutes before closing, but we were still able to buy everything we wanted. My favorite was the original flavor — just sprinkled with sugar — though for me it was a bit too sweet. Still, the dough and the baking itself were quite tasty. The chocolate one was also fine. But the coconut one, and the third flavor we tried (I don’t even remember which), really weren’t to my taste at all. Overall, though, it was interesting to try — it’s a popular and well-known spot. That’s why I’d recommend giving it a try. For me and all my friends, the most original flavor remained the favorite🥰😍
Iryna Y — Google review
Went around 4pm and waited 15-20 minutes. We got one of each flavor. TBH I only liked the cinnamon and custard ones. The other flavors just tasted very very light. They came out warm which was nice but they do not taste good when they’re not warm.
Nicole B — Google review
The best malasadas that you can buy in Hawaii! This is a legendary spot to taste the the best malasadas you'll ever have! It's always crowded. The customer service is great and everything is always hand-delivered fresh to you. When you take a bite it literally melts in your mouth. They have a variety of selections with different feelings you can choose from, or you can get the original with no filling. The choice is yours, they also have cold coffees that are really good. This is a dessert that you must try while you're in Hawaii! World famous Leonard's!
Aaron P — Google review
If you’re looking for fresh Portuguese donuts, this place can’t be beat. Known famously across the islands and in the mainland, Leonard’s serves up fresh hot malasadas to order. They don’t taste as good when they cool down. This location is the closest to the Waikiki area and there is limited parking no seating. There is always a line because they are made to order. It’s worth the wait frankly.
Alan — Google review
Leonard’s Bakery is a must try when you're in Hawai’i! Their special pastry dough is fried to perfection — light and fluffy. . When we first arrived, the crowd was pretty intense, and we thought the wait might take forever, but it turned out to be pretty quick. I was able to order right away since everyone was just waiting for their food. There’s no seating inside—it's mainly a to-go spot. I ordered two malasadas, one with cinnamon sugar and another filled with guava. I also ordered a Portuguese sausage wrap and an iced coffee. It took about 15 minutes for our food, which was pretty fast! My husband and I loved the malasadas and the sausage wrap. The iced coffee wasn't really my favorite, but overall, everything else was great. If you're in Hawai’i, make sure to check them out!
Carmen H — Google review
Amazing, famous malasadas! Despite a line out the door, the service was quick and the food was even better! Our favorite was the original. The custard filled ones were a bit heavy and messy, but tasty nonetheless! Parking is very difficult so recommend either walking, or having someone drop you off to order while you circle around or park elsewhere!
Gina F — Google review
What can I say? The reputation is spot on. It was my 1st visit to Honolulu. The malasadas are truly amazing. They are great anytime but particularly amazing when fresh and warm. This should absolutely be one of your first visits in Honolulu.
Neal C — Google review
Easy to find, however once you see it you better turn in or you'll have to reroute your way back. Parking lot is small, so if you get a parking spot consider yourself lucky. Order inside wait outside, easy flow. The pastry is a Portuguese malasada, and it is absolutely DELICIOUS! I got the cinnamon pastry. I should have ordered more, especially a few cream filled ones. They make to order, be patient, enjoy the weather, it's WORTH it.

Liliha Bakery, a beloved establishment since 1950, is renowned for its delectable breakfast offerings and comforting dishes. The bakery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and crafting all their baked goods from scratch. With its original location on Honolulu's N. Kuakini St., the bakery has expanded to two additional locations due to its immense popularity.
Great Authentic Hawaiian food! Lots of options! Good service! We were a family of 20, and we were treated like family. Will definitely come back!
Benedict M — Google review
Stay away from this place unless you truly have no other options but it is not worth your money ‼️ We were seated by a very nice waiter who took our order, and that was it! We couldn’t find him afterward, and if you try asking any other waiter for help, they won’t respond because they’re “not assigned” to your area. Imagine this: I needed a fork and knife. I saw some near the kitchen and noticed a waiter standing right next to them. I politely asked if he could hand them to me, and he said, “No, I can’t. You need to ask your waiter for that.” I waited another 5 minutes, but our waiter still didn’t show up. Eventually, I went and grabbed them myself from the other side. Our order was sitting right in front of us (we were seated near the kitchen) for at least 10 minutes before anyone brought it over only after I pointed it out to the waiter! The burger was tiny, and the service was horrible. On top of that, I ordered my steak well-done, but because the restaurant was busy, they served it medium-well instead. That was a Monday, I can’t imagine how the weekend would look like. Never going back again‼️
Charly A — Google review
Stopped in to pick up a few sweet treats and loved them! They have a fantastic array of baked goods, from your standard donuts and muffins to croissants and danishes. However, some unique options I recommend trying are the mochi donuts and my personal favorite, the coco puff. It’s a puffed pastry with cold chocolate cream in the middle and your choice of topping ex coconut, green tea, etc. While I didn’t take advantage of the diner side, there is a counter where you can sit and eat a regular meal. There’s plenty of parking outside as well.
Isabel Y — Google review
Fantastic staffing and amazing food in terms of quality and price! They have a funny table back in the bakery kitchen that is so clean and very fun to experience. All of this made us come here twice during our 4-day trip!
Omid K — Google review
This is the original location that started it all. ATMOSPHERE: Parking is pretty plentiful. It's a simple and bustling bakery along with a long dining counter which seats about 20 or so. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us. Turn over was pretty quick as we sat in about 20 minutes. Reservations are not taken. You get an up front seat of the food being made. MENU: It's a mix of local and American diner fare, and of course the bakery with all kinds of things. FOOD: Butter Rolls House rolls these days are a rarity! Sinfully buttery and moist, the included sweet dipping sauce isn't necessary. Hamburger Steak While it's a very mainstream dish, the highlight was the taste of the homemade patty. It had a nice crust to it and had a great grilled flavor. The gravy was light brown and mildly salty. The mac salad was very good. The entrees normally come with sides of a butter roll and rice, or you can opt for all rice which I did. Luckily my friend did not eat all of her butter roll so I got to try some and it was delish! Hotcake The single piece was big, delicious and creamy. SERVICE: The ladies who work behind the counter all multi-task - cook/serve/bus/cashier and all were so friendly, patient, professional, and helped each other out. OVERALL: Good food, average prices, friendly service.
Maui T — Google review
Great bakery and diner, got the loco moco, and the macnut waffle, both were really delicious. The loco moco had that Smokey taste from the grill, and the macnut waffle was light and crispy, the butter that came with it was very flavorful. Also ordered some pastries. Service was good, the place gives you an old diner.
I’m G — Google review
I love this bakery! Lots of parking, service was a promt, this place can get busy, they have overflow tables in the kitchen! So you can actually see all the desserts being made! Pretty cool! Ambiance is slightly on the noisy side but still able to hold conversation! I've been here several times and the food is nothing short of amazing! Ordered: Butter rolls - 10/10 perfectly grilled nice and crispy! So good I crave it. MacNut Waffles with fruit - 10/10 perfectly cooked, nice and crispy has a nice bite! No need for syrup cause the macadamia sweetens it naturally! Fruit and whip cream were a nice added touch ! Steak and eggs 10/10 cooked to perfection! I opted to upgrade from regular rice to fried rice; fried rice was great! Cheese burger deluxe 10/10 so satisfying the patty was cooked ourfectoy and had a nice char to it, It was so good I didn't take a picture! Buns were nice and toasted well, their potato crisps are nice circle potatoe with a nice width very different but paired well with the burger! Perfectly seasoned too! Loco moco with egg 10/10 the gravy was bomb, about of rice was great! Nice char burger meat, perfectly seasoned ! Perfect plate, and would definitely order again! Coffee - 10/10 free refills, great bold coffee! Desserts: Cream puff, coco puff, matcha puff - 10/10 they are known for it! It's perfect and not as sweet as other places! All desserts are made in house, which I appreciate it! Quality food and desserts! Highly recommend this place!

It was okay. We bought quite a bit of stuff and everything was just meh. I bought some brioche dinner rolls and some brioche hamburger buns. Both of those are okay. Nothing spectacular. Also ordered a blueberry cream cheese cake. We shared that with a bunch of different people and they all felt that it was subpar. Also ordered a coconut lemon cake which was also just okay. Nothing spectacular. We had some oatmeal raisin chocolate cookies. Those were just okay as well. They had these cream puffs which were quite delicious. I would get those again. Or maybe try some other things.

Bakery
Kamehameha Bakery Inc, a long-standing establishment in Kalihi, is renowned for its specialty poi-glazed donuts and ensaymadas. The bakery offers an array of baked and fried goods, including Filipino pastries like ensaymada. However, the star of the show is their glazed poi donuts, which derive their unique purple hue and starchy flavor from the Hawaiian taro root dish called poi.
Great bakery!!! Unfortunately I got there too late, everything I wanted was sold out. Most of all their products was sold out. The staff informed me that has never happen before early in the day. It was Mardi Gras- Fat Tuesday. In hawaii it's celebrated by buying Malasadas. They have such great pastries. Maybe next time I'm in the neighborhood. I'll go and get my favorites. Highly recommended.

Came here for the first time in a looooong time. I always order the famous Poi Glazed donuts. It’s so good and delicious. The right amount of glazed sugar all over the fried malasada poi flavored donuts. They have many other varieties, but this is my favorite. Line can get long so you can also phone order. Staff are super friendly and fast. Lots of parking and surrounded by lots of good eats.
K. T — Google review
We arrived at 5am, 2 hours after opening, there was still tons of donuts left. Everything was fresh and melt in your mouth. The donuts were extremely cheap 7 donuts for 13 dollars and probably the best I’ve ever had. There was a line when I arrived but service was speedy. Just be careful, the location is not the best and there were 2 homeless men outside the door waiting and asking for donuts.
Kiah F — Google review
The BEST place for pastries. Down to earth people, nothing fancy. They open very early so if you get a flight or early morning project site, they got your back! Poi donuts, undefeated!

Best Bakery on Oahu — Worth the Drive! Kamehameha Bakery Inc is hands down the best bakery on Oahu! I drive all the way from Kailua just to get a bite of their incredible treats — and let me tell you, it’s always worth it. My absolute favorite is the poi donut with coconut filling — soft, flavorful, and unlike anything else you’ll find. This place is a must-visit if you’re ever in Hawaiʻi. Just make sure to go early because the lines can get long — it’s that popular and for good reason. The aunties behind the counter are sweet, welcoming, and clearly know what they’re doing. Every item I’ve tried is made with love and packed with flavor. Local, authentic, and consistently amazing — Kamehameha Bakery is a true island gem. 🌺🍩
Edgar M — Google review
Order was placed one day ahead for 4 boxes (48 each) of strawberry and poi donuts without issue. The orders were completed and picked up on time. Poi donuts were still warm when it was put out for consumption in our office. Perfect celebratory/any occasion dessert or just because.
M M — Google review
The best bakery I’ve ever been to bar none. Every single little baked good is so amazing. Would recommend the poi glazed malasada. It’s literally insane.
Andrew G — Google review
Cute old school bakery where you can get no hassle baked treats at a reasonable price. Pastries were yummy, service was fast and the staff were so friendly! They prefer cash for payment. I left my food in the bakery and the staff actually ran after me which makes me appreciate them going above and beyond for giving their exceptional service. Too bad there are no seating though. Cupcake shop
Hokulani Bake Shop is a quaint bakery that crafts artisanal cupcakes and hand-decorated cookies for special occasions. The cupcakes are some of the best I've ever had, and I hate sweets because the sugar makes me physically ill and my teeth hurt. My husband tried several flavors and his favorite was banana cheesecake. In addition to cupcakes, Hokulani Bake Shop also sells sweet treats like shaved ice and sweet potato fries.
I will sing praises to the beautiful people at the Hokulani Bake Shop. We ordered our wedding cake from them last year and this year for our anniversary we got the cupcake version of our wedding cake to celebrate. Needless to say this will be a tradition for as long as we can keep it up. Their minimalistic buttercream was the best for us and our guests. We ordered the guava and passion fruit cake with the cream cheese filling. In our opinion they are their best flavors. Their seasonal flavors are also amazing. For the best service call and order ahead.

Such a great location! Little gem of a place and the people were so nice! Cupcakes were packaged well and tasted delish!!!
M. S — Google review
Apparently, these guys won Cupcake Wars, or so I was told by some friends. We were shopping nearby and went to check them out. I'm not much of a dessert eater but I absolutely LOVE white cupcakes. And to tell the truth, the bakery at Safeway where I'm from does a damn good job with them, so here is my very first comparison on big vs. small taste-wise, not by variety. CUPCAKES: Vanilla Coffee Bean There was just one lonely cupcake left in the entire case which the 3 of us shared lol. The color was a light yellow with specks of coffee, the texture was a bit crumbly and not as moist as I'd like, though the flavor was good and true to its name. I never eat the frosting on any cupcake because it's just way too much sugar. SERVICE: The sole lady working the shop was friendly, inviting, and professional. OVERALL: Good, but not the best I've had.
Maui T — Google review
Went in the morning on a weekday. They have a variety. It was a little busy. I wouldn't say they staff were friendly, but they weren't unpleasant, either. The cupcakes are pricey and small. They were moist with a good flavo. I would eat them again if someone else paid. Doubt I'll return.
Jesus E — Google review
I ordered a 2 simple tier wedding cake with strawberry guava on the top and Guittard chocolate on the bottom. The staff was prompt in answering our emails and the delivery was on time, but I was very disappointed by the quality of the cake. It did not look like the picture I had provided them from their own website (see picture without the decorations). The cake was really dense, dry, and with very sweet icing. Unfortunately it's one of the downfalls of having a destination wedding - can't try the cake beforehand.
Jenifer C — Google review
Was in the area for appointment coming from West side. Stopped in bought sugar cookie that was very cute it's decorating was awesome bought the guava red velvet and chocolate cupcakes took them home to eat . They were so delicious these are absolutely the best compared to Safeway etc Costco definitely will go again when in the area again
Desiree M — Google review
Cake itself was dense and harder than I expected but frosting was flavourful and good. I normally don't like frosting and just scrape off to throw away because I don't like to eat tons of sugar but I ate all of the frosting andlikedthem! My choices were lilikoi and guava. Both good but I couldn't feel much authentic flavour from each fruit.

I am so happy with my experience with Hokulani Bake Shop! I placed a scheduled order with Bite Squad for my mom (I'm not local) and they went above and beyond to make it special! They included the sweetest note for my mom's birthday as well as cute birthday cupcake toppers. My mom said that they are absolutely delicious! Thanks for making it special & easy Hokulani!

Bakery
Nanding's Bakery is a Filipino bakery that has been in operation since 2001. It offers a variety of Filipino baked goods such as Spanish rolls, Ube loaf, Pianono Rolls, Cheese mamon, and more. Customers rave about the warm Spanish rolls with butter and the barely sweet and salty breadsticks. The bakery also serves Paul's Custard Pie or Pumpkin Pie as well as other pastries like Ensaymada and adobo roll.
Hot buttery sweet Spanish Rolls, need I say more! You can never just eat one and you need to eat them hot. They give them to you freshly made so before you start the car and drive I would suggest you get a napkin and grub down. They have other pastries and service is quick just parking is very limited I think I saw 4 spots only.

GET HERE IMMEDIATELY AND GET THESE ROLLS AS FAST AS YOU CAN 😍 I arrived at 2:30 pm and waited 10 minutes to get these babies fresh and warm 🔥 Some of the best bread you’ll have in your life I bet.

Nanding's is a true Filipino bakery! If you want to feel like you are walking into a bakery in the Philippines then drove to Kalihi and go to Nanding's. If you don't speak Tagalog then have some patience be respectful and point at what you want. It is in an area where industry and houses meet. So be aware there are fork trucks driving nearby. Like every here parking is limited.

Delicious and warm Spanish bread! Friendly staff, take out only.
Erika P — Google review
No fuss bakery with nice selection of bakery goods. Their Spanish rolls are divine. So easy to “accidentally” eat half a dozen by yourself in one go. A must try.
Joshua G — Google review
3/7/2022 I was in the area and wanting a blueberry scone so I decided to stop in. Boo! No blueberry scones, only chocolate chip. Oh well, I got 4 ube rolls, an Ensaymada, and an adobo roll for $9.15. Asked about the scallion twists but she said they don't make them anymore. Another boo! Ube rolls were for the hubby so I don't know how they were but the Ensaymada was fresh and delicious. The adobo roll was just okay. Tender pork inside but not a real adobo (vinegary) flavor. Tasted like plain, shredded pork. 2/21/2022 Very few parking spaces in the front but we were lucky to snag a spot today. We were looking to pick up scallion twists because we haven't been able to get them from the Waipahu Nanding's. Unfortunately, the lady said that they didn't have them today. I ended up just getting an Ensaymada and a blueberry scone for around $4 and change. Ensaymada was soft and fluffy as usual! The blueberry scone was delicious as well.

My favorite place to get Spanish rolls and ensaymadas. Parking is a bit of a problem if they are busy (three stalls). Th box of Spanish rolls had 15 in them. I already ate 3 after being home for a few minutes. 😂Sooooo good. 😋

Still the best custard pie that I’ve ever tasted. It’s sweeter and the texture is like flan. It came right out the oven so it was soooo warm. Staff are friendly and fast. Paid parking in the back on Ala Moana Blvd. It’s better to phone order because they do sell out.

4/13/2022 A long time ago, during the holidays, my hubby went to a dinner and brought me home a slice of custard pie. Now, I'm a fan of pie but not custard pie because I've tried many awful ones. He kept telling me to try it, even though he knows I don't like custard pie. I'm sure glad I did. As soon as I took the first bite, I instantly changed my mind about custard pie. Lee's Bakery & Kitchen has THE BEST CUSTARD PIE! It's creamy, not too sweet, and the perfect texture. The crust is flaky and not super thick. Glad that my brother-in-law loves it so much that he's willing to stand in the long holiday line to get it and share with us! Today, was the first time I went to Lee's. Didn't get a custard pie since we already have dessert for this weekend's dinner with my brother-in-law. Instead, I got a Pineapple Bun, a Glazed Donut, a Hong Kong Bun, a Tuna Bun, and a Char Siu Manapua. The Hong Kong Bun was because I asked the friendly lady which item was the most popular or favorite of customers and she suggested that bun. It came out to $8 and change. So far today, I ate the Glazed Donut, part of the Hong Kong Bun, and the Tuna Bun. That Tuna Bun was stuffed with tuna and the bread was so light and fluffy. Yum! The Hong Kong Bun was like a delicious butter roll, and the Glazed Donut was airy and not super sweet. I'm sure the other items will be scrumptious as well. I love Lee's Bakery & Kitchen!

When getting a custard pie I don’t know of a better place to go. There is also a wide selection of other baked goods as well. Parking isn’t the easiest. But you can call in an order and just run in and pick up if you have some drive around the block.

Chen siu su and the buttered bread here was really good ... very friendly service. The surrounding area isn't great, or maybe just kinda more in your face in Hawaii

It was so smooth and melted in a mouth. I tasted many custard pies in Honolulu, this is the best one! Crust is thin, but firm enough to hold the pie. Just right sweetness and creamy custard. Number one recommended custard pie for sure. And I recommend to call them to hold it, other than that you will not see it in the store!

Lee's bakery is by far absolutely the best place to buy baked goods. They have nothing that isn't phenomenal. You can actually taste the love and effort that they put in every single donut. Plus they are always so polite and welcoming. You couldn't pay me to go anywhere else. Every single baked good that's myself and my picky family of 6 hat hat has been hit.

BRUG Bakery Lanai at Ala Moana, located in the bustling Lanai food court, is a beloved destination for both locals and tourists. Their bread offerings, including fluffy soft raisin bread, Hokkaido anpan with slightly less sweet red bean paste, and mochi bread, are popular and disappear quickly due to their exceptional quality. The bakery also offers delectable sausage rolls that exceed expectations.
This week was an extra rotten week, so to cheer everyone up, Brug was delivered to us by my mom. I love Brug. The Matcha Turtles🐢, Apple 🍎 Cinnamon Custard Danish,Cream Cheese Bomb, Brug curry, Kuma Chocolate Custard and creamy tomato soup are among my favorites when they first opened. Today we had a variety of goodies, each person having their own personal favorites. I don’t know the official name of the baked goods, but i will put a brief description of each one. Very tasty and delicious baked goods offered with pleasant staff. Family Favorite Spot for us! 07/05/2023 My mom bought me a Kaeru (frog) Choco Matcha Melon Pan. It was so adorable!! 😍 Filled with chocolate! If u heat it around 30 seconds it gets nice and melty. I really missed the Kame (turtle) Matcha Melon Pan so i was so happy to get one of these! 09/13/2023 My mom grabbed me a hot dog, curry pan, Ichigo Neko (Strawberry Cat) and a New Limited item I never tried before. She can’t remember the entire name but said it was a pineapple cream. It was so delicious!!! A adorable pineapple shaped pan with chunks of pineapple, cream and shredded coconut!! Yum! Grab one while u still can! 12/01/2024 Pictures updated!

Absolutely divine! BRUG Bakery’s daily fresh-baked goods, made with premium Hokkaido Mainz flour and no artificial preservatives, coloring or other additives (thank you!!), are pure perfection—soft, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Standouts include the Blueberry & Cream Cheese Mini Loaf, Cranberry Fromage, Mango Custard Hermit Crab (so cute and dipped in white chocolate!), and the pillowy Piggy Pan with teriyaki pork belly char siu. Every visit is a culinary adventure, with endless shelves of artfully crafted treats that make choosing nearly impossible. Hands-down, O’ahu’s finest bakery—thank you, BRUG, for bringing your magic here!

I came for the 11 yr anniversary sale. I tried the mini pizzas the croisants and the sausage rolls and the chocolate covered croisants. I also tried both donuts. I brought all of the items home to Minnesota, everything stayed fresh the sale was fun I will come back again looking forward to trying the little bear pastries. Everyone was so polite. The line was long but moved very fast and was worth it.

Nestled within the bustling Lanai food court at the Ala Moana Center, this bakery has firmly established itself as a beloved destination for both locals and tourists alike. It's no surprise that their bread offerings disappear in the blink of an eye as soon as they're set out, a testament to their exceptional quality and popularity. During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring their delectable sausage rolls, and I must say they exceeded my expectations. The perfect blend of flaky pastry and savory sausage filling made for a delightful snack. However, the star of the show was undoubtedly their Kona coffee pudding – a culinary masterpiece. Its rich, coffee-infused flavor left a lasting impression, and it's a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. Beyond the sumptuous treats, this bakery is strategically positioned for travelers. Grabbing some of their freshly baked and delicious bread before heading to the airport is a brilliant idea. It ensures a tasty in-flight meal that you can savor even after your departure. In essence, this bakery is a hidden gem in the heart of Ala Moana, offering a taste of paradise that's not to be missed.

Clean and inviting. All the pastries lure you into a soft and fresh taste of heaven. We have been in Hawaii for six days and there has not been one bad pastry in all of our selections. This is a must to visit right outside of Macy’s in the food court.

I like a place that has savory pastries. They have this delicious sausage roll and other good stuff. The black sesame mochi donut was also slicks. It's a bit softer and chewier than what I'm used to, but I like it. They have tons of other items to try out.

Breadshop is a small bakery located in Kaimuki, offering a variety of artisanal breads such as focaccia and brioche. The bakery's owner, Chris Sy, started with limited quantities at farmers' markets and medical schools before establishing the brick-and-mortar location. The bakery has gained popularity for its country loaves, furikake focaccia, and ever-evolving pastry creations like kulolo Danish and smoked carrot pastry.
Great bakery in Honolulu. The plain croissant was flaky, crispy and flavourful as any amazing croissant I've had on the mainland. I'd eat it again in a heartbeat. I also got a Danish with a local fruit. Not sure how to write the fruits name but it was mild in flavour and tasty with everything else on the danish. Highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the city. You can also order online and pick up. If you don't, you get to pick whatever is left for the day. They had a little of everything baked today when I walked over from Waikiki.

Waialae bread shop- my favorite is the French bread, so much classy and tasty than the Cosco French bread. I could tell that its made with special care & ingredients. Sourdough loaves and baguet is my second favorite. Taegu spinach manchego croissant is an interesting one. I made this garlic oil dip that goes perfectly well.

Can't beat a local bread shop that makes delicious baked goods at unbeatable prices. Ordering is easy online and pick up is quick and efficient. Parking is available in a parking lot behind/adjacent to the building. All of the breads and baked goods are larger than you'd expect. The ciabatta is over a foot long and the slice of potato focaccia was the entire length of the bakery box (started eating before I remembered to snap a photo 😅).
Julie V — Google review
Some of the best pastries I've had in the world. Bookmarking this on my worldwide favourites list. Taeggu spinach manchego croissant - 5 stars I'm not usually a croissant person, and this was on the greasy side, but the filling blew me away. Sweet, savoury and umami in perfect balance. Mushroom danish - 5 stars Great filling, drier than the croissant. I prefer the drier texture as I don't usually like the feeling of grease on my lips. I think the wetter taeggu filling would actually go well with this pastry since it's a wetter filling. Crisp bread - 4.5 stars Salty but fragrant and great texture.

finally visited Breadshop after hearing so many people rave about it, and truly exceeded all of my expectations! for our first time, we ordered the Brioche, Mango Cheesecake Brioche Tart, and Taegu Spinach Manchego Croissant. Everything tasted truly divine and the flavour profiles were also very unique and harmonious. The texture of the bread and the pastries were perfect and we will definitely be back soon to try other breads and pastries! There's a small parking lot with the first hour of parking free, as well as a few tables and chairs in the shade which were convenient. The online ordering process was smooth and easy, and an email notification was sent when my order was ready for pickup. Incredible experience all-round at Breadshop and this bakery will definitely be on my regular rotation 🥰😌🩷

I’d heard whispers about this carb-loaded praise about this place. People were walking away looking like they’d just found true love… in a paper bag of fresh-baked goodness. I managed to swoop in right as they pulled the brioche from the oven, according to their top-secret (but publicly posted) bake schedule. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The smell alone could’ve solved world peace. That warm, doughy cloud hit my face and suddenly my heart felt like it was wrapped in a buttery hug. Brioche, with its rich ingredients, is like the fancy cousin of regular bread, sweet, soft, a little bougie, but still down to earth. Not as buttery as a croissant, not as sugary as a cookie… just perfectly balanced. The brioche lives in the moment. By the next day, it lost a bit of its pillowy charm. But pop it in the toaster, slap on some butter, honey, or your jam of choice and BOOM. You’re right back in that cozy little moment of joy.

Best baked goods on island! So much bread variety, from the classic city loaf to pumpernickel and beet rye. The pastries are all divine, and I appreciate the mix of sweet, savory and seasonal flavors. The chocolate chip cookie is quite literally the perfect cookie. The whole process from order to pickup is a breeze. What a gem, keep it up!

This place was great! The pastries were out of this world delicious. My iced vanilla latte was very good. I’m not a “coffee” drinker but I did buy some to take home because the flavors sound amazing. This place is so busy, I arrived at 6:50am and there were already 30 people in front of me. The line did move quickly so don’t let the long line deter your visit.

Another one of our breakfast choices was this place, mainly because it was close to our hotel. Of course, the large number of positive reviews also caught our attention. The prices seemed a bit higher than in other spots, but let’s set that aside. I had a mushroom sandwich (or something along those lines), and it was fairly tasty, but it didn’t leave much of an impression on me. What really stood out, though, was the coffee — and not in a good way. Honestly, it was terrible. Probably one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had. It was extremely bitter and just not enjoyable at all. Even my iced coffee was bad, and as for the hot coffee my friends ordered — it was awful too. I really don’t recommend ordering coffee here. Overall, I don’t think I would come back.
Iryna Y — Google review
This place has pretty good coffee and pastries however a constant one hour line does NOT make it worth it. Not enough staff to provide service and make it a smooth experience. Definitely worth going to other places for coffee considering this line and service ruins the experience. My 2 year old knows better manners than these passive aggressive baristas. For a hospitality cafe we were really disappointed.

This is a very popular place for their Black Sesame Kouign Amann. Their coffee is so smooth and good! People wait in line even before this place opens. I always come every time I'm in Oahu and it's highly recommended. Hack: if you're buying a bag of coffee, you can go directly to the register that's near the bagged coffee and select your coffee and also order drinks and pastries.

☕️✨ A must-stop in Honolulu! Kona Coffee Purveyors serves up incredible drinks + pastries baked fresh in store 🥐 Black Sesame Latte was so unique & nutty 💯. I loved their drinks Liam’s punch and the honey latte as well!! ✔️ My picks: • 🍫 Chocolate Kouign-Amann • 🍫🍌 Chocolate Banana Croissant • 🧀 Savoury Croissant Line was crazy long at opening time, definitely recommend getting there early

I visited around 11 AM. The line took about 20 minutes and then a few more for the coffee. Cold brew (small - $6.25) was delicious. It tasted nutty and chocolaty, and very smooth. I also had their coconut and pineapple croissant ($6.25) which was surprisingly good. It was not too sweet but definitely had the pineapple flavour. I'll be coming back!
Claire C — Google review
The iced coffee and the Affogato are spectacular!!!! There is a long line most of the time, but it's not a dramatic wait time. The pasties they sell also look yummy. We went back twice because it was good each time.
Nwoo — Google review
Expect about a 45 minute wait if you get in line backed up to the Hilton grand vacations booth. It took us 47 minutes from getting in line back there to when we got to order. Then another 15 minutes to get the coffee. So about an hour total. The good: The lemon tart was the best I’ve ever had, and the other pastries were really good too. The bad: My wife loves coffee and threw it away after only a few sips, she said she was actually pretty disappointed with it, especially after waiting for an hour for it. Overall, not worth the wait and likely won’t be back since there is always a line.

3 Stars for convenience. The fruit here is either bland or no good. I recently bought a mediocre bag of Cherries for $20. Apparently I saved $9 off of it somehow. I wouldn't recommend going for the produce. Everything seems atypical of an Hawaii grocery store. Check the receipt for an idea of the prices.

We stayed in a condominium at the Ilikai during our stay in Hawaii, so we bought our food here. We could get everything we needed without having to go to a large supermarket. For example, bread, cheese, ham, fruit, salad, milk, fish and meat, desserts, vegetables. There were also plenty of small daily necessities. It was nice that we could go there easily.

I thought the prepared food selection was excellent! The sushi is top notch and the poke was my favorite. Get a large container of poke and a six pack of beer and sit somewhere lovely for sunset. The store also has a good selection of produce (lots of local greens, fruit and avocado) and dry goods. My mom got homemade meatloaf and kale salad out of the deli and loved it. A wonderful dining experience! Loved all the flavors and presentations. Service was great. Finding the valet parking was interesting as it is on the second floor - the restaurant's directions may seem unusual but they make sense when you get there.

The best meal I’ve ever had! We did the chefs tasting menu and loved every course! They really know how to balance textures and flavors. Highly recommend the wine pairing as well. Blown away by both the food and the service! Highly recommend! When picked up the menu, you glanced thru everything and you think you know what to expect and you would be surprised. I did. I thought it's just fried fish and I was surprised. I thought I ordered shaved ice and I was surprised. I thought I ordered crab cakes and expected like what crab cakes like out there and once again, I was surprised. Crab cakes - I ordered the crab cakes, and it was excellent. It's not like those usual crab cakes where it filled with battered and have more starch than crab meat. This one is all crab meat inside. My wife ended up ate 2/3 of them. Mochi salad with crispy chicken skin - I don't like salad but I thought I tried. The end result was I finished 70% of the salad because it was delectable. The dressing was spicy, but the persimmon sliced and the tomatoes with the greens were just perfect. I never thought I could like a salad that much. Short ribs - The meat fell off the bone... Well, there was no bone but it's definitely tender. Potatoes were nicely crisp and the foie gras was nicely seared. Mochi crusted kampachi - Surprisingly crunchy fish. Very fresh. This is one fine dine dish. Impressive. Strawberry shaved ice - It's not really shaved ice, it's more like shaved strawberries and the coconut tapioca was very good. So coconut-y. This is one satisfied fine dine experience. Very impressed that you find something with this quality in Hawai'i.

Note: I am reviewing this as a fine dining restaurant, relative to other fine dining restaurants I have been to. Compared to a normal restaurant, this is certainly a 5 star experience. I went in for the tasting menu at open, and had a reservation for the bar. The location is kinda weird, being right next to auto dealerships. I hope that the savings from location rent are passed onto the consumer. I did the 5 course tasting menu; however, I forgot to take a picture of the tenderlion. They accommodated my shellfish allergy, and did a substitution which I appreciated. The food was excellent, certainly showed off the quality of the chefs and was on par with what I expect from chefs claiming experience at the French Laundry. My only complaint on the food was with the first course, which was a soft boiled egg with caviar and wasabi. At the end it just became too eggy, I wish there was more depth of flavor. I got the wine pairing, which I would not recommend for others to get. The wine was fine, and I assume being on Oahu it's not as easy to get the quality wine I am used to in places like California. The cocktail menu seemed good, and the other patrons were enjoying them. So I would use the money on the wine pairing to get 2 or 3 cocktails instead. Overall. Great food, certainly a good option for a celebration or just enjoying fine dining in Honolulu. The chefs clearly know what they are doing and I wish them success in their future endeavors!

Our waiter Darren was very knowledgeable and friendly in providing recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the unagi butterfish, the paella, the kanpachi and the brûlée and everything was so fresh and full of flavor. We even received cookies as a parting gift!

Located inside a car dealership, this was my first time dining among millions of dollars worth of brand new sports cars. And it was a lovely experience of elevated local flavors in a fine dining establishment. I did the chef's tasting menu, and every course was delicious. My favorite was the opening appetizer, which contained caviar and egg. Their main specialty was the mochi kanpachi, and I really enjoyed it too! For cocktails, I had the Georgia O'Keefe and asked why it was named after a haole woman. Nomenclature wise, their other cocktail Lychee Hoo was actually a play on local culture, which made more sense. The staff asked around for me, but no one knew why. "Just use your imagination", the bartender said. "Like Georgia O'Keefe did." I had so much fun at MW.

Been to many restaurants on Oahu over the last 8 years, and this one takes the cake! Menu is unique and comprehensive — there’s something for everyone — and the execution was flawless. Ordered 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, and 2 drinks, and every one of them hit the mark. Our favs were the dumplings, inari bombs, and the tenderloin! Our waiter Tyler was so attentive and gave us just the right amount of space. We’ll be back in no time!

Nestled in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Panya Bistro & Bakery is a delightful haven for those craving Asian comfort food and delectable pastries. This charming spot offers an extensive menu that can be quite overwhelming, but it promises something for everyone. Diners can enjoy dishes like tender miso udon and flavorful Japanese curry, which have left patrons raving about their experiences long after their meals. The atmosphere is enhanced by pleasant instrumental music at a comfortable volume, making it perfect for a relaxed dining experience.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate a birthday dinner, and our experience was fantastic! We had a reservation for a party of eight at 5:45 PM and received a notification 30 minutes prior. We arrived on time and were seated immediately—our table was ready and waiting. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the evening. The menu is quite extensive, which might feel a bit overwhelming at first, but it offers something for everyone. Parking is convenient, available at the shopping center across the street, and the restaurant validates your ticket—just be sure to bring it with you! We started with a round of drinks, which were excellent and set the perfect tone for the celebration. For appetizers, we shared the fried squid legs, shrimp lollipops, garlic toast crostini, salmon and crab salad, and caprese salad toast—all were delicious. I ordered the seafood laksa, their house specialty, and it was amazing: flavorful, spicy, and highly recommended. Everyone in our group was very happy with their meals, and we ended the evening with some great desserts. No complaints at all. This is definitely a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends and family. We’ll be back!

Made a reservation for 7:45pm on Open Table with a “special requirement” hopefully to be able to get seated earlier in the restaurant. We will be in the area around 7pm. The hostess mentioned she saw the request and saved a table for us. That was nice. We have eaten here before but always outside, this was the first time eating inside the restaurant. I would say that it can be loud depending on the guests at neighboring tables. As mentioned in other comments, they have an extensive menu of various selections. With a slight chill in the air, we’re having the Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup (Pho) and the Won Ton Lo Mein. Can’t remember what we had before, but seems like we never go wrong with anything we’ve had here so far. Ladies next to us ordered the steamed fish. That might be my next choice. The dessert choices are always enticing. Final thoughts: Excellent service, great food selection, prices on the high side. Highly recommend it. Would go again. Note: prices shown on website are not updated, both dishes ordered shows $18 actual was $27…a 50% increase.

Wish there was a place like this in Seattle... It's quite difficult and ambitious to be able to deliver the variety of food Panya offers in its menu, but Panya delivers and does so with flair! To say the menu is extensive is an understatement. From Chinese/Malaysian/Thai/Taiwanese to Japanese, Italian, and American favorites, the food here is sure to please even the most picky eaters. We dined here on two occasions and have been quite impressed both times. First time, I ordered the Thai Steak salad that came with a generous serving of flank steak on a mound of mixed greens that included basil, red onions, carrots with a delicious dressing that was never tiring. I couldn't stop eating the salad until I hit my full mark. Mom had the Panya Ginger chicken which is their take on the Cantonese classic ginger/green onion chicken. I never thought this chicken dish could not get any better, however, instead of poaching the chicken, Panya pan fries a few boneless thigh pieces until the skin is crispy while still keeping the chicken juicy. The ginger onion sauce is traditional and goes tremendously well with the juicy thigh meat. On another night, I ordered some chicken wings, and a cheeseburger. The plate of chicken wings was larger than expected and the breading was crunchy without being greasy. I don't normally order burgers when I go out, but was hankering for one and it did not disappoint. Patty was angus beef, juicy, and had a smoky flavor from being broiled. In summary, Panya does everything well, provides wonderful service, and is in the trendiest part of Honolulu. You will not be disappointed!

If you’re heading to Oahu, this place is an absolute must‼️ I go every time. Sure, you can cook meat in your room and it’ll taste great, but nothing beats the consistency and comfort of Japanese or Asian food. If you’re visiting the Ward area or Ala Moana, I highly recommend it!

Panya Bistro & Bakery is a culinary gem adored by my friends and me. This restaurant is an absolute standout, boasting exceptional service, a captivating ambiance, and food that is simply outstanding—a destination that every food enthusiast must experience. During our recent visit, we indulged in an array of delectable dishes that left us utterly enchanted. From the refreshing summer rolls filled with succulent shrimp and crisp vegetables to the comforting spaghetti meat sauce adorned with mushrooms and served alongside garlic toast, each dish showcased the culinary mastery of Panya Bistro & Bakery's chefs. The Spicy Thai Basil Chicken was a fiery delight, with tender boneless chicken sautéed to perfection and served with fragrant Thai basil, fresh chili, rice, and a fried egg—a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds. We also savored the delicate octopus, the luxurious snow crab salad brimming with fine chopped onions and celery, and the hearty New England Clam Chowder enriched with smoky bacon. The Thai Salad provided a refreshing burst of flavors, while the Taiwan-style Beef Noodle Soup warmed both body and soul with its spicy beef broth and tender beef shank. In every aspect, Panya Bistro & Bakery exceeded our expectations, delivering an unforgettable dining experience that left us eager to return. Whether you're a local or a visitor to Oahu, this restaurant is a must-visit—a culinary haven where every dish tells a story and every bite is a revelation.

I’ve dined at Panya a few times prior to this review and I’ve had awesome food from them! I’ve had their laksa soup - so good, during a baby shower! I’ve celebrated mom’s birthday here! And recently dined with visiting friends! Tonight I got the wonton soup, a little salty but still delicious! Boyfriend said the cheeseburger was good! Friends said the garlic shrimp and clam chowder was delicious! We dined outside, nice view once they lifted the blinds. It seemed like a slow Friday night for them, so service was prompt. They validated parking for 2.5 hours. Pricey for some of their dishes, but delicious!

What a menu! The variety was so good that it took us a while to order. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

You can enjoy a wide variety of Asian cuisine here—the menu is incredibly extensive. As someone who grew up in Japan, I’d say the quality of the Japanese dishes is a bit lower. But this Japanese cheesecake tastes just like home and brings back memories of Japan!!

Kaimuki Superette is a modern diner offering top-quality comfort food sourced locally. The cafeteria-style eatery serves breakfast with French toast made from bread from local bakeries and creative sandwiches. Customers rave about the Chia Seed Pudding, a must-try item on the menu. The cozy atmosphere, chill vibes, and friendly staff make it a great spot for a small breakfast or quick lunch. Visitors also praise the to-go coffee bucket as a genius idea.
Came for lunch and loved it. Cute and cozy, my grilled fontina and cheddar melt was perfect. My partner had the spicy Korean chicken sandwich- not spicy but great nonetheless. Oh, and the sea salt chocolate chip cookies were 💯💯. Definitely want to come back for breakfast.
Ryan R — Google review
Overall okay. The salad was pretty good! It was very refreshing. The dressing was really good and the smoked fish was complimenting the greens. The fried rice was subpar for sure. The rice was hard and it would be painful to get stuck in our teeth. The scramble Sammie was also only okay. It was pretty bland overall. The coffee was okay. Wasn’t my favorite. I wouldn’t recommend the coffee here. It was a cute place but nothing too amazing about it.

Chia Seed Pudding!! Any time I'm in this part of town I always stop here to get the Chia Seed Pudding (as long as it's before 11a!). It's the best, not like I've seen this anywhere else. I truly recommend it. The rest of the food is great. A little pricey but worth it for the atmosphere, chill vibes and friendly staff. Never been here for dinner but I recommend it for a small breakfast or a quick lunch. The "to-go" coffee bucket is genius and more places should incorporate it.

Here for breakfast. Scones is fluffy. Self service coffee. Nice medium body. Breakfast bowl is about 10.5 but very filling. Very cute spot with friendly staff. Five points reward accepted here.

We stopped by for breakfast before heading to the airport. So good! We both had the soft scramble sammy and I added bacon to mine (I think the avocado add on would have made it even better). I also ordered a poppyseed scone and my boyfriend chose the bread pudding which came with a little brown butter sauce. We ended up trading our little pastries because we liked each other's better! Delicious food for the price in my opinion! We also picked up pastries here on Sunday when they had the pop up bakery and those were delicious!
Leah D — Google review
I happen to be staying via an Airbnb in the Kaimuki area and wanted a strong Americano, and my favorite meal of the day happens to be breakfast. I am so glad I rolled into the Superette. The food such as the Avocado Toast and Akami Bowl are so well thought out in terms of flavors. The super tasty Hapa fried rice is definitely meant to be shared. The -ultimate- is the coconut mochi that is part of their daily baked treats. During my ongoing trips to Oahu, I plan to keep the Kaimuki Superette as part of my morning routines except Sundays when they are on a well-deserved break. Plus staff is so hospitable, locals and the community are greeted with the friendliest morning salutations. Clearly why their neighbors/neighborhood keep returning...also love the play of music from the 70s, early 80s in the background.
Anne C — Google review
We were staying half a mile from here. What an amazing cozy little place. Love everything on the menu but the chia seed pudding is the clear winner. And the staff is just so sweet.
Fes N — Google review
The cozy vibes and the throwback 60’s diner feel makes for great ambiance. Breakfast items may be on the small side in terms of serving size, but it is made up in flavor. The chia seed pudding included fresh fruit, manoa honey, and granola. A wholesome way to fuel a hike. The french toast was indulgent and had perfect texture. Slightly crunchy crust and fluffy interior.

Cake Works is a bakery and outdoor cafe that specializes in custom cakes made to order. They have many flavors to choose from, and their cakes are absolutely gorgeous.
For our wedding day we had Cake Works for our dessert table and wedding cake! We got a 2 tiered cake with a passionfruit layer and a guava layer. Everything was delicious and one of my regrets from my wedding was that I didn't get to eat as much dessert! Cynthia was so helpful from start to finish - we did a cake tasting box with her and she was so responsive during the whole planning process. Our cake and dessert table was so beautiful and we are so glad we had them at our wedding!

We ordered our wedding cake from here and it was AMAZING and tasted soooo GOOD! My guest really loved it as well. Communication was prompted and professional. We had our cake delivered to our dinner location. Thank you again Cake Works for making our special day even more special with our amazing cake. 🤙🏾🫶🏾🙏🏾

We ordered a 6 in custom birthday cake, it was so adorable and the pistachio flavor was delicious! As my mom would say, "not too sweet", which for us is a very good compliment. The ordering process was very streamlined through email and a link they had. Response was quick and they were amazing about working with your budget. We wanted a custom cake but the serving size was out of our budget, so we were given a recommendation to size down our cake and add on some mini cupcakes with matching frosting and we ended up right within our budget and still had plenty leftover cake and desserts after our party! We were very satisfied with our cake and experience! Would recommend to others to try and we will be ordering from them again.

I was just there for the macarons. I bring them to my office and the workers love them. I've never heard of a complaint. It's only $3 per macaron. That is a good price compared to other places selling the same. As you can see in the pics, they have great flavors and a lot to choose from. I definitely will be back.
Dillard S — Google review
On August 12th I dropped in and ordered a 6 inch strawberry guava cake to be delivered to my hotel on August 16th. Delivery was expensive and I got a call the day before confirming the details since the drivers were running behind, but overall I didn’t have any time constraints and it went well. My issue is that I went to cut the cake later that evening, I noticed that every strawberry on top had mold on it and the cake was extremely hard. If I didn’t know any better, I would say that it was the display cake that I saw when I came in on the 12th, just with an added white chocolate name plate on top. It was very dry and difficult to eat, not that we could because of the mold. I would just verify if you’re ordering from here exactly when they will be baking the cake before you buy it.

I chose to go with this cake place for a wedding experience and first of all I want to say amazing customer service, kind and understanding. They worked with us to give us the small cake we needed for elopement. They were so understanding of everything having to be last minute due to my partners work schedule. They were able to get us our cake testing and our cake 5 days apart. I love the cake testing. I would say go with the more unique flavors because you're only in Hawaii once
Char — Google review
My sister has ordered here in the past and was happy with her previous cake so I knew they were the place for her 21st birthday. I sent my inspiration pictures and they were able to make some adjustments to fit closer to my budget. I ordered about a month in advance. They were super understanding about me rescheduling the pickup time. The cake was ready at pick up time which I scheduled for right when they opened. I was worried about transporting it in the car myself but it didn’t move in the box at all. The colors were a perfect match to the inspo I sent and it looked so cute in pictures. We got the Kona Macadamia Nut flavor and it was AMAZING. I felt like there wasn’t too much frosting which I prefer that way. The frosting was nice and light not overly sweet in my opinion. The cake itself was moist and had a yummy vanilla flavor. The star of the show was the Kona Mac Nut filling, so flavorful and really packed a punch. I ordered a 6” heart cake and it was over 10 servings. We had a lot of people over so we did cut smaller slices, which was good cause it was so rich. This was my first professional cake I’ve ordered so I’m not sure how the pice compares to other places but it was worth absolutely every penny! The cake was a huge hit at the party. We had some leftovers and put them in the fridge, made for great breakfast the next day! Overall my experience with Cake Works was great! They were very kind and nailed the design and flavors were so good. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to get a cake in Honolulu. Thank you for making my sister’s birthday cake a huge success!

We ordered our wedding cake from CakeWorks for our destination wedding in Hawai‘i, and it was absolutely perfect! The cake was a stunning three-tier design, and each tier featured a different flavor which every single one was delicious and beautifully made. Planning a destination wedding can come with its challenges, but CakeWorks made everything so smooth and easy. From communication to delivery to presentation, they delivered flawlessly. The cake looked incredible and tasted even better... our guests are still talking about it! Thank you to the entire CakeWorks team for helping make our day so memorable (and so sweet)!

Elvin's Bakery is a bakery and café in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is locally owned and operated, and has been dishing out delicious treats since 2003. Its selection of pastries and breads are sure to please any palate, while the Chocolate chip cookies are some of the best around!
Had to order a last minute birthday cake for my friend and they got it done so quickly! Asked them to write happy birthday on the top and they went above and beyond and made the cake so beautiful everyone loved it. We got the red velvet it was delicious, definitely recommend this place!

2025 update: chocolate chip cookie recipe may have changed a little. I recently went there to get some cc cookies and they didn’t taste as good as previously. So currently rating down to 3/5. Chocolate chip cookies are great! You have to try these. They are very crispy and fresh. Some of the best I’ve had in a while. Shortbread cookies are good too.

Delicious assortment of cakes and bread rolls. We tried the an, coconut cream, spam and egg rolls as well as the lychee mousse cake. The rolls are lightly sweet and fluffy and go perfectly with whichever filling you choose, whether savory or sweet. The lychee mousse is delicately flavored and I could have eaten a whole cake! During the month leading up to the mid-autumn festival, they offer an assortment of moon cakes. We tried the lotus paste with one yolk and coconut. Both are delicious with a cup of tea. Very friendly and helpful staff. 10/10 will be back soon.

They have the best moon cakes. They also make delicious bread and other type of cakes. Very friendly owners. They stepped out to help me to choose the moon cakes. However, moon cakes are seasonal. They have opened since 2003. It's a shame that I just discovered them now.

I was told by about this bakery and decided to try it out. The cake I bought (strawberry shortcake) was very good! It was fresh and well made. I would recommend this bakery if you have a sweet tooth, or shopping for a birthday cake as I was. The quality is much better than at Baskin Robbins. My second visit is when I got the chocolate dream and the mango mousse.

This is such a cute little bakery. We bought a few pastries, a chocolate cake slice, and a whole tiramisu cake. The pastries are light and fluffy. The cakes are not overly sweet. Everything was delicious. I wish I got a picture of everything we got but it was so good we just consumed it all.

Nene Goose Bakery is a charming family-owned bakery known for its delectable baked goods and breads. The bakery offers an array of treats, including rolls filled with savory options like meat, cheese, or vegetables. Visitors rave about the Japanese-style breads and pastries such as mochi anpan, spinach bread, and chocolate-covered cinnamon rolls.
I’ve been wanting to go to this bakery since last year before covid. I am so happy to have gotten a chance to be there this weekend. This is a small bakery. I was after for Anpan (sweet bean filling) roll. So lucky to have secured few. The most famous one is Anpan with mochi inside. Our neighbor can’t eat enough of it. We got there around 9am on Saturday morning. So many trays were emptied out already. That is why I feel very lucky to get what I was there for - Anpan. One customer (w/family) at a time, so you expect to wait outside. I enjoyed each bread. You can tell how it is baked with care and careful attention to the detail which is Japanese is very good at. Besides Anpan, I really enjoyed Coconut Cinnamon Roll. Wow, it was yummy! Can’t wait to go back there to get cinnamon rolls already.

Enjoyed the pastries we bought. My wife loved the spinach bread. I love supporting locals and will continue to come here when I'm in Kailua. I just wished they didn't sell out so early. I had the chocolate donut which had the perfect chewy consistency and the chocolate was nice and rich. I'd definitely eat a few of those the next time. Support local and swing by this small bakery that's been around since the 90s.

Cute bakery in Kailua. Took a nice morning drive with mom to check this place out. Yummy Janpanese style bread!! Cute little store and the owner is very nice and friendly! This place is a must!! Their breakfast pizzas and muffins seemed to be made with their spinach dough. My favorite was the egg pizza and spinach muffin. I warmed it up in my airfryer for about 3 mins and it came out crispy on the outside and fluffy/airy on the inside!! Tried their mochi anpan (a must), glazed donut buttermilk donut, and apple roll. They were all amazing!! Fluffy and not as sweet... just right... reminded me of the bakeries I tried in Japan. I will definitely revisit!! Recommend going there early if you plan to go since they only allow 1 cutomer/family at a time and there will be a line.

I went to the farmers market at Enchanted Lakes Shopping Center and noticed people standing in line waiting to get into Nene Goose Bakery. I got in line too and asked the gal in front of me what she'd recommend? She said the cinnamon cream cheese pastry was good, Japanese bread and she mentioned a bunch of other items. I ordered a chocolate peanut butter pastry, baguette and Japanese bread roll. First, I'm so glad I waited in line! Second, it was delicious! My friend loved the roll too! Definitely going to be returning to this bakery!!!!

Raintree Bakery Coffeehouse is a charming spot in Honolulu that's perfect for a leisurely breakfast or coffee. The scrambled eggs with various toppings and homemade muffins are particularly delightful, and the friendly staff make the experience even better. This cafe takes pride in offering organic and healthy options, evident in their flavorful dishes. In addition to great coffee, they also serve delicious pastries made in-house.
Very sad to hear that this place is closing! We were fortunate to be able to enjoy their food and service one last time. The coffee and food was delicious. Everything is freshly made with love. The restaurant is very cute and tidy. The service is top notch. I will miss this place but am very happy for the owners! Wishing them all the best!

When you are craving coffee or something sweet, near Young st and Pensacola is Raintree bakery Coffeehouse. It's a quiet place to unplug from town life. You can get something to go but I suggest that you sit down and have the waiter serve you. If you close your eyes and listen to the old time music, the milk steaming, muffled conversations around you. You can get the feel of being in a European cafe' without the pesky travel nor the odd smell of Europe. From the preparation of the coffee to the taste of the pastry, everything was spot on. Know that this isn't a corporate coffee house so leave your Starbucks expectations at the door. This is what coffee is meant to be about. It's how it started and the love of coffee it continues, for those with discerning taste. The deserts were made not just to perfection. They were made with love. If you want to see and experience people that love whether they do then stop in here. I wish they sold that magic I'd take a bag home with me.

Somewhat whimsical, quiet cafe with friendly and attentive staff. Their commitment to good organic food is clear through the flavor, and through their excitement to talk about it. It's clearly something they are passionate about and I always love seeing that in local cafes. It wasnt the best matcha I've ever had but I really liked how flavorful the house made almond milk was- they made it just before I walked in! The lilikoi bar was scrumptious as well. Overall the prices are a little high but if organic food is your thing, I'd say it's reasonable if you're dining in long enough to enjoy the place.
Maya H — Google review
The moment I walked into the coffeehouse, I was drawn into a wonderful storybook world! I was hungry after my third trimester of pregnancy checkup at Kaiser, so I walked in and casually walked into this place. I became a fan of this coffeehouse the moment I entered! It's like a quiet, magical place in between the hustle and bustle of the city! Plus the staff that showed up were nice older uncles. Very helpful, friendly, and they wear pretty red hats! I wanted the recommended matcha latte, but they were concerned about my pregnancy and suggested the mint iced tea. They served me the mint iced tea first while I was waiting for the turkey panini I ordered for takeout. The coffeehouse is surprisingly spacious and the atmosphere is so quiet and relaxed that the hustle and bustle outside is unthinkable. Each table is decorated with fresh flowers and is clean. I also took out a banana walnut muffin and lilikoi cheesecake. They were all delicious and organic attention to detail! The large muffins were moist and filling! Lilikoi lovers should definitely try this cheesecake! Anyway I love the world view of this place! Now I want to spend some time in the store.

Run by the talented bakers Ellen Stavro and Javier Flores, this bakery showcases a commitment to precision in flavor and texture, honed from their fine dining backgrounds.
Wall Flour Bake Shop in Honolulu offers a great mix of creative and comforting pastries. I tried the Cream Cheese Guava Danish, Chocolate Hazelnut Swirl, and Sweet Potato Casserole Pastry, and here’s the scoop: • Cream Cheese Guava Danish: Flaky, buttery, and the perfect balance of tangy cream cheese and sweet guava. A must-try! • Chocolate Hazelnut Swirl: Rich and nutty, though the chocolate could’ve been a bit more intense. Still delicious. • Sweet Potato Casserole Pastry: Comforting with earthy sweet potato and cinnamon flavors, topped with just the right amount of marshmallow. The cozy vibe and friendly service add to the experience. If you’re in Honolulu, definitely stop by for a tasty treat!

Horrible experience. My partner and I had a poke bowl there yesterday at noon, and we’ve been suffering ever since—non-stop vomiting, diarrhea, completely stuck in the bathroom for 24 hours. They claim their fish is ‘fresh, caught daily,’ but given this food poisoning nightmare, I seriously doubt it. On top of that, the service was terrible. Never again!

Paris Baguette is a global bakery chain with thousands of outlets worldwide, and the first one in Hawaii is also its first franchise location owned by locals. Visitors have been impressed by the cozy ambiance and top-notch customer service. The Caramel Macchiato has been described as the best in recent memory, and the pastries are equally delightful. While some find the flavors too light, others highly recommend treats like the coffee croissant doughnut.
This is the place to be! The pastries are absolutely delicious, with rich, flavorful fillings. It’s a small spot with limited outdoor seating, so it’s ideal for takeout. I recommend going early, as it’s a popular place and the favorites tend to sell out quickly. The chocolate croissant is a must-try! We enjoyed some treats on the spot and took a few to go with our iced coffees. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the place has a neat, cozy vibe.

Hands down the best ham and cheese croissant in the town! We also like the mochi donut, and some fresh fruit pastries. Raisin snail is also decent. The biggest challenge is parking. Get a ride or find nearby parking and walk over!

One amazing coffee and bakery place. They bake fresh and keep restocking. Their Strawberry cream cake is a must try, it sells quickly in the morning. Croissants, Mochi donut, pastry with fruits, red bean bun, sweet potato bun, croissant with Nutella, coffee, Frappuccino, breads with sausage, salads, sandwiches are amazing. Try their egg salad sandwich and chicken with grain sandwich, amazing. Everytime I go there I keep trying new items on the menu. Very clean, people should wear gloves to their hands that they provide at the entrance of the restaurant to select our pastries and breads. Their quality of bread also is amazing. They have chairs outside to sit and eat. Clean place overall.

7/2025 I've tried it in Korea and still can't wait to visit their first location here in Hawaii - with more to come! Every time I'm in the area and pass by, I wish I could run in but they're always so busy and parking can take a minute. I was lucky enough to stumble onto them at a golf tournament and was happily reminded of how much I missed their pastries. I'm really not a pastry buff but I gladly admit, their stuff rocks! I especially like the pastry frank - my personal favorite and their best seller i think. They've got desserts 🥧, coffee ☕️, and a plethora of pastries. I hear that street parking is good and free on Sundays for a quick flyby to get your pastry fix on. They also do catering! Cool. Stop by soon. I'm certain you'll become a Yobo Pastry Nut! See the Nancy aka "Pho" and Mina aka "Kim Chee" owners and tell them I sent you! You might not get a free pastry but I promise you'll get a tasty pastry treat and maybe a wink and a smile. Onolicious! 😉🤙✌️🫰

The pastries were delicious, just like the ones at the Downtown store. But the staff has not been trained well yet. I pointed out a mistake on my receipt, but nobody knew how to fix or refund it. They said they would have a manager call me later, but I haven't received a call yet. Also, there were no trays and tongs when I arrived, and all the customers were confused.

Highly recommended!! Loved to see a Paris Baguette here after trying them in South Korea, their pastries are absolutely delicious and fresh! I went a little after 12pm, so the best stuff was already sold out, the staff mentioned to go first thing and try their most popular items. I will definitely come back!!

Pastries looked beautiful! They were quite large, though. (I’m so happy I had someone to split it with!) The fancy pastries are not one I would go back for (too sweet for me and I don’t think I could box them nicely to gift to anyone because so much frosting!) but the regular, individually wrapped goods were good! Coffee was good too!

A Cake Life is amazing. We ordered our cake from Australia for our elopement in Hawaii. Communication was timely and clear and they delivered the cake to our hotel. The cake was delicious as well as beautiful for our private celebration post elopement. Highly recommend this business. Cake was perfection.

There's no way to say this enough, OUTSTANDING! Kristin's cakes were made with such divine freshness and love. It just melts in your mouth but made our hearts happy with their beauty! She hand-delivered these to us at our hotel for our 50th Anniversary celebration with our family of 17. We traveled from Alaska to Hawaii and ordering these cakes was so easy and just made our Golden Anniversary perfect. Mahalo and hugs Kristin!

Our cake was one of the easiest and yummiest choices we made for our wedding. I also loved that they offer cake pops! Who doesn’t love a bite size cake that is easy to eat and doesn’t make a mess! I loved the choices of flavors. Kristin was super easy to work with and everything we had was delicious!
Alaina Z — Google review
Our cake and desserts were fantastic! Not only stunning but delicious too. It was a joy working with the A Cake Life team - they made everything easy for us, including answering my hundred questions on if they could make celiac safe desserts (which they did)! Would highly recommend them for excellent service, pricing, and taste.

What I asked for vs what I got! Kristin was very easy to work with, and despite floral availability issues due to Mother’s Day, A Cake Life literally brought my dream wedding cake to life. Most delicious pink guava and lilikoi wedding cake that my guests loved. <3 highly recommend, mahalo
Christina G — Google review
We partnered with A Cake Life through our wedding venue, Sunset Ranch, for our cake as well as our dessert bar. We loved being able to do a “tasting” with their bento box, curated with flavors of our choosing ahead of the wedding! Since we didn’t want a super traditional cake-only dessert for our reception, having a smaller cake with our chosen flavor (guava/guava) for cake-cutting and of course to eat, we also had supporting desserts that our guests could enjoy! We opted for lemon tarts, cake shooters (guava + strawberries ‘n cream) and cream puffs (matcha and chocolate) and our dessert options did not disappoint! We had the midi dessert bar for 80 guests, and that was perfect. We only had a few cream puffs left at the end of our reception, which our coordinator boxed up for my husband and I. We opted for a semi-naked buttercream finish and had it decorated with some flowers to match our floral arrangements, and it was exactly what we envisioned! Simple, beautiful, and delicious. Thank you, A Cake Life, for a sweet ending to an amazing day!

First off the cake was delicious and great texture! I love how they have a cake bento so you can customize flavors to try in smaller portions! My favorites were guava, strawberry and the coconut/pineapple! Additionally, they were kind to have me reschedule my pick up day when I reached out. Thank you so much and I’d love to purchase another cake in the future!

Their innovative offerings include unique delights like longanisa croissants and lard chocolate chip cookies, alongside Harley's standout creations such as exquisite chocolate croissants and seasonal pastries that celebrate Hawaii’s rich ingredients.
First off, very friendly crew there. Was recommended to me by a friend and it was great. Always searching for high quality beef and their Ribeye was amazing. Butcher prepared it right in front me. Their sandwich special was lunch today and it was perfect. High quality local island beef. Gonna be my go to!

We got five pastries and a breakfast sandwich to share for about $45, so normal. Absolute 10 out 10 would recommend. We also purchased the Japanese curry bratwurst. The place doesn’t smell like a butchers shop in Hawaii heat. It’s simple, clean and amazing.

I purchased pork chops, corned beef hash, sausage, ground beef, Italian sausage, cinnamon roll, and chocolate haupia pie!!! The pork chops were juicy and tender, the cinnamon roll was good, but the star was the chocolate haupia pie!!! Definitely be back for the fresh meat and yummy 10/10 desserts!!!

If you're ever in Kaimuki on the weekend, this spot is a must-visit. I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area--and I highly recommend going right when they open, as their most popular items tend to sell out quickly. This charming butchery not only offers high-quality meats but also serves up some of the most delicious pastries and breakfast sandwiches around. The breakfast sandwich menu changes frequently, depending on the meats available, which keeps things exciting and seasonal. My absolute favorite item? The Housemade Char Siu Pickled Mustard Green Danish. It's a perfect balance of savory and sweet, with crispy, flaky layers filled generously with flavorful char siu and topped with a rich Peking duck sauce. It's unlike anything else you'll find in Honolulu. Other standout items include: Lilikoi Orange Guava Mochi Danish - tropical, chewy, and bright Chocolate Chip Cookie - classic, gooey, and satisfying Quiche - rich, buttery, and perfectly baked The service is consistently excellent--everyone is friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The energy here feels local and warm, like a neighborhood spot that truly cares about its craft and community. If you're looking to grab a quick bite, this place delivers every time. Don't miss it!

I was gonna take a picture but it smelled so good I just ate it. The honey toast was so delicious 10/10. The Char Siu Mustard Pastry 7/10. There was little to no meat filling but it was still really really good tasting. Staff were amazing!

Drove a long ways away from home because I saw an advertisement for this place. If you’re thinking of grabbing food, do it before lunch. When I got there and had paid for street parking there was nothing, just their meat section and like. 3 random food items that looked old. I’m sure it would’ve been a wonderful experience with wonderful food!…if they had restocked.

Nestled in a charming corner, Beyond Pastry Studio is a delightful haven for pastry lovers. The talented Cristina Nishioka takes pride in using authentic local ube, crafting her signature ube cream cheese ensaymada that stands out as one of the lightest treats around. If you’re lucky enough to visit on Filipino Pastry Fridays, you'll be treated to an array of mouthwatering delights like chicken adobo pandesal and jackfruit cake.
I ate my pastries so fast they didn't get photographed. I asked the person helping me what some of her favorites were and she recommended the futakake hot dog roll (sorry if I got the name wrong). They also had shitake mushroom and cheese roll hot out of the oven and it was a delight. Normally I do not go for that sort of item but this was savory and filling. The ham and cheese roll was decadent and light as well. Saving the Ube sugar roll for later! I will definitely be coming back for more treats! 10/10.

Attending a workshop at Beyond Pastry Studio had been on my bucket list for a long time, and I’m so happy I finally got to experience it. I have zero baking experience, but the class was thoughtfully designed for all skill levels. Christina, the owner, is incredibly generous with her knowledge. We made several of their signature pastries, received recipes, and took home everything we made. Needless to say, the baking experience was a blast, but what touched me most was witnessing the genuine love and support this bakery receives from the community. People have such deep respect for Christina, her craft, and the joy she brings through her creations. I can’t recommend the bakery or the workshops enough. After this experience, you’ll appreciate her pastries on a whole new level. Thank you again!

My wife has been telling me about this wonderful pastry place and she finally brought me a blueberry pastry thing to try. Oh man this place is good! Perfect amount of sugar and blueberries and it’s mixed nicely throughout the pastry (unlike other places where it looks so good but is just on the top). I ate some of it and left the rest in the fridge and forgot about it for a few days. I finally remembered and had the rest and it was still delicious after 10 seconds in the microwave. I don’t know if that’s an official type of test, but to me it just tells me they use great ingredients and good ratios. I just updated my photos as I got to go inside. Oh my gosh this place is good.

I’m from Waipahu so it’s pretty rare that i go to town for food. My wife and i were in the area and she pulled this place up online so we checked it out. I wasn’t expecting it, but their mushroom parm roll was one of my favorite things i’ve eaten this year. Check this place out if you’re nearby.

I've wanted to gatekeep BPS for a long time because it's always been my happy place near work that I can always sneak away to get something to treat myself. So when one of my close friends wanted to do a full tasting and review of BPS, I was close to begging to be on the tasting committee. Christina and her team are always so friendly and helpful, especially when you're like myself and want to try all of their items! BPS as a whole is a beautiful company focused on sharing the flavorful culture (pun intended obvi) of being Filipino. All the love, care, and culture can be tasted in every bite of literally anything the team curates. The ingredients are always so fresh and Christina's years of expertise and experience on everything tasty is truly embodied in any and all of the pastries offered at Beyond Pastry Studio. Honorable mentions: Chocolate decadence cake, Pork Sisig pastry, and personal fave is the Malunggay Mushroom Balsamic nest. Whether, visiting or local, Enjoy Filipino Pastry Friday AND the now extended Filipino Food Week (thru 10/31) to continue sharing the flavors of the Philippines. Big ups to Christina and her team for doing their big one!

Consistently delicious pastries. I go here at least once a week. The staff is always so warm and welcoming. I tend to lean more savory, so I always get either the ham & cheese roll, pumpkin-bacon scone, or the maple bacon pudding.

Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake is a global phenomenon with over 80 stores worldwide, offering light, airy, and not overly sweet cheesecakes made with natural ingredients. Unlike traditional American cheesecakes, these are fluffy and guilt-free. The lemonade served complements the cakes perfectly. Additionally, the food court location also serves cookies and teas. Customers can also enjoy delicious mochi donuts at this spot.
This is not your typical American cheesecake. Instead of being dense and cheesy, these cheesecakes are light and fluffy. They are even fluffier than angel cake but not as dry. After eating these cakes it almost leaves you guilt free because of how light and not sweet it is. However, what the cheesecake lacks in sweetness, the lemonade makes up for it. It is freshly made by hand so they can get a little carried away with the sugar. As soon as you take a drink, the sweetness slaps your face and let's you know it's in charge, but in a good way. Together they pair well and make a delicious combination snack. Definitely a must try and the price can be under $10 if you don't splurge too much.
Chris D — Google review
The Japanese cheesecake was heavenly. Light, fluffy, airy with the perfect flavor to go with its texture (I had the original). The melon flavor was delicious as well. I truly loved it.

I was eager to try out the famous “jiggly soft and bouncy” Japanese cheesecake. It was ok. We tried some samples but didn’t go for it. They had other cute desserts that look too good to consume. We did not try them as it was close to dinner time.

Located on the second level food court. Ordered the mochi donuts, delicious and chewy! The cheesecake was the same fluffy goodness however it costs $4 more on the island than mainland. Definitely try the donuts!

This place has the most unique tasting cheesecakes that melt in your mouth. This isn’t your standard American cheese cake, this is different. Japanese cheesecake has different texture and taste that’s worth a try.
Alexander K — Google review
We enjoyed the cheesecake (original and coffee flavor). Nice and moist. This is the first time we tried japanese style cheesecake. It wasn't bad. The original had a nice flavor to it but we enjoyed the coffee flavor the most. It had a hint of coffee to it with a nice amount of fluffiness. Would go back again if in the area.

2016: The best mango smoothies are here! We had them several times on our trip. Update 2019: Still the best smoothies!

These cheesecakes are lighter and fluffier than a traditional New York cheesecake - I like both versions but gravitate toward these more often. They also have mini cheesecake tarts in three flavors: original, matcha and pumpkin (not sure if that’s just a seasonal flavor) - perfect for a small afternoon treat! I also had the raspberry lemonade which I found a little too sweet.

Nestled in the cozy 808 Center, CakeM is a delightful bakery that specializes in Japanese-style cakes and pastries. Run by Megumi Watanabe Albritton, this charming spot is renowned for its fresh fruit tart, featuring a luscious layer of almond cream and topped with vibrant fruits. The star of the show is undoubtedly their Japanese strawberry shortcake—an elegant creation made with soft sponge cake, real whipped cream, and perfectly tart strawberries that harmonize beautifully with the sweetness.

CakeM Honolulu is a charming little bakery with a limited outdoor seating area, perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely afternoon treat. Despite its small size, the bakery offers a variety of delicious cakes and pastries. The bakery wasn't busy when I visited. The service was friendly and efficient. I decided to try their signature strawberry shortcake, and it was a delightful choice. The cake was light and fluffy, with a perfect balance of sweetness. The fresh strawberries added a wonderful burst of flavor. While the limited seating might be a drawback for those looking for a more extensive dining experience, CakeM Honolulu is definitely worth a visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.

We ordered a birthday cake for a relative. It was a small maybe 6inch Paid roughly $100 for it. No problems there as it was advertised and it’s what we paid for. Here’s the problem though, When we received the cake we had to sign a waiver for damages and such(something we never had to do at other bakeries) so kind of a red flag there. We left thinking. Nothing of it though. We noticed when we got to the car though, that the cake was already hitting the side of the box, like it was basically ruined lol We opened up the box to find that the cake itself was deflating on one side and drooping. It literally looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was so shameful to present to our relative. He was obviously disappointed too. The taste of the cake was nothing special but it wasn’t terrible. Very disappointed for the amount we paid and the result we got, unable to do much because of the waiver we had to sign. Buyers beware of this cake shop, i would highly recommend somewhere else.

CakeM to the rescue! Their strawberry shortcake slice was the perfect ‘Happy Birthday’ surprise—thank you! They even added a ‘Happy Birthday’ message on a small chocolate heart, which turned out perfectly. The cake itself was done in the Japanese style—light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, without the excessive sugar you often find in American cakes. Quick, wonderful service, and thoughtfully packed! Thank you for saving the day! 😊

Small and beautiful Japanese style (French style?) cakes. Shop is pretty too. Not too sweet like American especially like Hawaiian sweets. Very polite Japanese-English bilingual stuff members. Everything is very Japanesey. I would go back again! (Cakes in my photo look squished only because of my driving. They looked perfect when I got them)
Blu K — Google review
First off, this review is a mixture of the in house desserts and the custom cupcakes I had ordered. My dad had their cream puffs and loved it. Said it was the best he had so far in Hawaii. I also had their strawberry shortcake and thought it was ok (had better). Now on to the custom cupcakes! The design of the cupcakes were ADORABLE. Just what we had asked for. However, upon the first bite I was left confused. I clearly remembered ordering cupcakes, not corn bread. It wasn't even good corn bread. Super dry. The butter cream frosting tasted like room temp butter mixed with sugar. (I love frosting btw so not biased!) All in all, a huge disappointment because if I wanted corn bread, I would just go Zippys and not pay $5 per. I think their custom cakes are probably ok (based on the strawberry shortcake).. but I would give the cupcakes a hard pass. Do try the cream puffs though. (The 2 stars is for the cream puffs and design of the cupcakes.)

Love cakeM! I love the store because their cakes are all made from the scratch. I've tried strawberry short cake, mont blanc cake (OMG! So GOOD! I will definitely go back again!!!

I love stopping by this Coffee Bean! Super cute and modern inside. Love the layout of the store and the grab-n-go area before you pay is convenient if you're in a pinch. Baristas are super friendly too. It makes for a great place to sit (inside or out) after shopping around Kahala. My go-to is just an iced americano with a cream cap. I really appreciate CBTL, service is friendly and the places are well kept. in the past 3 months however, the coffee and baked items have had some issues. Most important is coffee. It's got to be hot, or at least warm. About a month ago I was given coffee that was room temp. I'm not sure how the barista didnt realize it went it was handed to me. I'm trying to figure out how coffee can get down to room temp if they are selling coffee all day long. The bakery items have been suffering at a couple of the CBTL locations (Monsorrat and Kahala). They are not fresh anymore. They are cold and old. once I the barista asked if I wanted the cinnamon roll heated up, they microwaved of so much that it was burned. But what made me write this review was that multiple items in the display had mold on them!! (Zoom in on the pics to see it) That makes me think that the manager doesn't care about customers. I'm not going to buy anything more until CBTL starts caring about their quality. I really like CBTL. I hope things get better.

Coffee is good, but I constantly get charged the wrong price on items, especially on days that they run specials like Mondays and Thursdays. Today's total didn't even make sense with what I ordered, even for regular price. Seems like all CBTL are having a hard time keeping their staff.

People that work here now are laid back without care. One girl handed me hot coffee filled too high and too hot that when I sat down to drink it the cup defected and the lid popped off and all the hot coffee burned my left hand. My hand is red and sore now. And when I went back to tell them they said they can refund the coffee? Is that fair compensation? They are so uncaring and careless!

I went there when it first opened and the workers were so nice and customer service was amazing, but these past few times I've been going the workers have been so rude. I went a couple of days ago and this older lady served me. I felt like I was treated as an inconvenience, she barely talked to me, barely looked at me, overall was not friendly at all. I watched her make my caramel latte, she barely took the time to make my drink. I didn't taste caramel in my drink at all. I would not recommend coming here.

I have never been so upset. I spend lots of time here at the Kahala market city from MKT to Dry Bar and never felt the need to write a bad review until now. I went in to get my coffee and purchased a container of the trail mix. When I open the container, the lid was not on good and the trail mix was stale. I went back in to let them know and a manager Jean came to the end of the counter upset to begin with. I let her know my complaint being very nice about it. She snapped back at me and said all lids are open not sealed so I told her that this was completely open and I could tell because it was no good. She grabbed the container away huffed and made noises and threw the container to the other counter behind her across the room so that everything would fly out all over making a scene. I then asked to speak to her manager with no response from anyone there. I have never been treated with so much disrespect and will never go to this location again..

Great food, amazing desserts! I live nearby, so I drop in at least once or twice a month - I've never been disappointed by anything I order, even at these gourmet prices. I always save room for dessert, because baked sweets is where Cafe Laufer really shines - I particularly recommend their sticky buns with a glass of milk!

Best food I've had in Hawaii so far! Had the pork shank. It was very tender and the meat just fell off the bone. The vegetables and potatoes were delicious as they were sitting in the natural juice of the shank. My wife had the duck confit, and it was equally as delicious. There was nothing left on our plates because it was too good not to finish! The coffee was very good, rich and flavorful. The wait staff was decently attentive. The service suffered a bit the busier it became, but they were very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be coming back here again!

I've been eating at CF for at least 10 years. My lunchtime experience on 9/17 was terrible. Has it changed ownership or chefs? My cheese spaetzle was tasteless except for the bacon bits. The side salad was drenched in dressing and looked like it had been in the fridge for about 3 days. The coffee -- what brought me to CF in the first place -- was too strong. The machines look like the ones CF has always had, but the coffee tasted like it has been sitting overcooking for a while. I never got my dessert. The staff? new owners were definitely inexperienced, unlike the usually calm and cheerful staff. The young man looked like he should be in high school (underage), and he was SURLY. First job? Not used to dealing with customers? Very sad at what's happened to the place. I'll not return and will tell friends and family about the changes. The menu looks the same but it is no longer CF.

Chicken Gumbo ? one half inch square of chicken the rest of it tomato soup .... ! gumbo should be darker in color. (chicken)??? none to be found except one piece . Salt ?? Give me a break... ! Way to much salt in their entree's . Their Cakes on the other Hand are Something to experience what i feel this shop should be recognized for.! Especially with the Name Laufer.. To make a long story short somewhere to visit for dessert but not for dinner .. entree's

We Heart Cake Company is a bakery in Honolulu that offers delicious options for couples during their cake tasting. They are also very creative and can easily match color schemes and palettes.
I can’t say enough about how incredible this company is! I was extremely stressed this past week trying to figure out party plans for my niece’s 1st birthday knowing it would all fall on my aging parents and myself to get everything done and paid for. I figured we could just forego the cake since I didn’t want to spend a lot on cake alone. Day of the party, I decided to get one anyway, but of course, every nice cake shop were unable to make something day of. Luckily, I called one more bakery. I saw great reviews for We Heart Cake Company and they were not lying! My experience with the excellent service and professionalism of this company started with the phone conversation. Although they expressed they did not have full size cakes available, they were able to make a customized petit cake before the shop closed in an hour and a half. It turned out to be way better than I and my family could have hoped for! It was absolutely beautiful and although it was a smaller cake, I would have definitely paid more for it considering the amount of detail they put into it in the time frame given! Thank you, We Heart Cake Company! You made this stressed out auntie very happy and relieved :) Mahalo!

My son ordered the cutest bday cake same day and it was so adorable!! The cake itself was delicious and not overly sweet. Thank you for the cutest cake ever!

Their cakes are very good! The icing is not too too sweet that will make you feel awful after eating it. The people are nice although their place is a little cramped. If there is already customers inside, you should just wait outside.

We Heart Cake Company makes the highest quality baked goods that both look good AND taste good! I’m always so impressed with how precise the designs on their cookies and cakes are, while maintaining premium taste and quality. I haven’t found anywhere else on island that matches up to their level of quality. The owners and team are the sweetest people, too. Definitely check them out in Kaimukī—make sure to check their hours before stopping by since they close in the afternoons and are closed twice a week. Highly recommend!

They make the most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever eaten in my life. The red velvet cupcake is my favorite. Beautiful shop and amazing nice people. I will be using them for my wedding cake later this year. Thank you for making amazing cupcakes.
