Liliha Bakery, a beloved establishment since 1950, is renowned for its delectable breakfast offerings and comforting dishes. The bakery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and crafting all their baked goods from scratch. With its original location on Honolulu's N. Kuakini St., the bakery has expanded to two additional locations due to its immense popularity.
Great Authentic Hawaiian food! Lots of options! Good service! We were a family of 20, and we were treated like family. Will definitely come back!

Stay away from this place unless you truly have no other options but it is not worth your money ‼️ We were seated by a very nice waiter who took our order, and that was it! We couldn’t find him afterward, and if you try asking any other waiter for help, they won’t respond because they’re “not assigned” to your area. Imagine this: I needed a fork and knife. I saw some near the kitchen and noticed a waiter standing right next to them. I politely asked if he could hand them to me, and he said, “No, I can’t. You need to ask your waiter for that.” I waited another 5 minutes, but our waiter still didn’t show up. Eventually, I went and grabbed them myself from the other side. Our order was sitting right in front of us (we were seated near the kitchen) for at least 10 minutes before anyone brought it over only after I pointed it out to the waiter! The burger was tiny, and the service was horrible. On top of that, I ordered my steak well-done, but because the restaurant was busy, they served it medium-well instead. That was a Monday, I can’t imagine how the weekend would look like. Never going back again‼️

Stopped in to pick up a few sweet treats and loved them! They have a fantastic array of baked goods, from your standard donuts and muffins to croissants and danishes. However, some unique options I recommend trying are the mochi donuts and my personal favorite, the coco puff. It’s a puffed pastry with cold chocolate cream in the middle and your choice of topping ex coconut, green tea, etc. While I didn’t take advantage of the diner side, there is a counter where you can sit and eat a regular meal. There’s plenty of parking outside as well.
Isabel Y — Google review
Fantastic staffing and amazing food in terms of quality and price! They have a funny table back in the bakery kitchen that is so clean and very fun to experience. All of this made us come here twice during our 4-day trip!
Omid K — Google review
This is the original location that started it all. ATMOSPHERE: Parking is pretty plentiful. It's a simple and bustling bakery along with a long dining counter which seats about 20 or so. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us. Turn over was pretty quick as we sat in about 20 minutes. Reservations are not taken. You get an up front seat of the food being made. MENU: It's a mix of local and American diner fare, and of course the bakery with all kinds of things. FOOD: Butter Rolls House rolls these days are a rarity! Sinfully buttery and moist, the included sweet dipping sauce isn't necessary. Hamburger Steak While it's a very mainstream dish, the highlight was the taste of the homemade patty. It had a nice crust to it and had a great grilled flavor. The gravy was light brown and mildly salty. The mac salad was very good. The entrees normally come with sides of a butter roll and rice, or you can opt for all rice which I did. Luckily my friend did not eat all of her butter roll so I got to try some and it was delish! Hotcake The single piece was big, delicious and creamy. SERVICE: The ladies who work behind the counter all multi-task - cook/serve/bus/cashier and all were so friendly, patient, professional, and helped each other out. OVERALL: Good food, average prices, friendly service.
Maui T — Google review
Great bakery and diner, got the loco moco, and the macnut waffle, both were really delicious. The loco moco had that Smokey taste from the grill, and the macnut waffle was light and crispy, the butter that came with it was very flavorful. Also ordered some pastries. Service was good, the place gives you an old diner.
I’m G — Google review
I love this bakery! Lots of parking, service was a promt, this place can get busy, they have overflow tables in the kitchen! So you can actually see all the desserts being made! Pretty cool! Ambiance is slightly on the noisy side but still able to hold conversation! I've been here several times and the food is nothing short of amazing! Ordered: Butter rolls - 10/10 perfectly grilled nice and crispy! So good I crave it. MacNut Waffles with fruit - 10/10 perfectly cooked, nice and crispy has a nice bite! No need for syrup cause the macadamia sweetens it naturally! Fruit and whip cream were a nice added touch ! Steak and eggs 10/10 cooked to perfection! I opted to upgrade from regular rice to fried rice; fried rice was great! Cheese burger deluxe 10/10 so satisfying the patty was cooked ourfectoy and had a nice char to it, It was so good I didn't take a picture! Buns were nice and toasted well, their potato crisps are nice circle potatoe with a nice width very different but paired well with the burger! Perfectly seasoned too! Loco moco with egg 10/10 the gravy was bomb, about of rice was great! Nice char burger meat, perfectly seasoned ! Perfect plate, and would definitely order again! Coffee - 10/10 free refills, great bold coffee! Desserts: Cream puff, coco puff, matcha puff - 10/10 they are known for it! It's perfect and not as sweet as other places! All desserts are made in house, which I appreciate it! Quality food and desserts! Highly recommend this place!

This was our first time here, idk why it took us this long to try it. We over ordered on the desserts lol everything looked so tasty and definitely tasted as good as they looked. We also got breakfast, loco moco, omelette, 3 pcs banana pancakes, and waffard. Sooo delicious!

Rainbow Drive-In is a legendary Hawaiian spot known for its counter-serve style and delicious local food. Since 1961, it has been serving up iconic dishes like BBQ beef plate, Loco Moco plate, Rainbow Royal Burger, BBQ Ahi plate, and more. Despite its humble beginnings as a small eatery offering affordable meals, it has gained recognition from Honolulu Star Advertiser and Honolulu Magazine.
Rainbow Drive-In is one of those places that completely lives up to the hype. I’ve been here a couple of times now, and every visit reminds me why this spot is such a must-try on Oʻahu. It’s got that classic local feel, delicious comfort food, and prices that are surprisingly reasonable, especially for how famous it is. We came on a Thursday night, and luckily it wasn’t too busy. Parking was easy, and the line moved quickly. I ordered the chili loco moco this time, and wow—it was absolutely worth every calorie. The rice, hamburger patty, egg, and that signature chili all come together perfectly in one hearty plate. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full and happy, the way true local plate lunches should. I also ordered a bowl of saimin on the side, which was the perfect balance—simple, flavorful, and comforting. We came with a big group of 13 people, and we actually lucked out with seating together, which I know doesn’t always happen at popular spots like this. There’s a good amount of outdoor seating available, but I can imagine on a weekend or during peak hours it might get packed. Still, the staff were friendly and efficient, and even with a large group, our food came out quickly and everything was fresh and hot. What I love most about Rainbow Drive-In is that it feels authentic. It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t need to be—the food speaks for itself. You can tell this place has been a staple for both locals and visitors for years. Whether you’re craving loco moco, plate lunches, or just want to experience a true taste of Hawaiʻi, this spot delivers every time. If you’re on this side of the island, definitely make the stop. Grab a plate, find a seat, and enjoy some of the best local comfort food around. Rainbow Drive-In is an island classic for a reason!

The venerable local plate lunch spot that’s been here for decades. Got the mixed plate for old time sake and food was up within a few minutes. Sad to say it wasn’t as excellent as I remember. I don’t know if it’s just me, but the taste was just OK. some of the other places on the mainland is better (not L&L there though). Meat a little on the dry side and excess mayo in the Mac salad. Would still recommend, to check that off your list, and in the case, I may have come on a bad day. I probably won’t be back this trip because there are a bunch of other places I need to try.
Alex — Google review
I personally prefer more flavor with natural spices so this place just wasn’t a fit for me. I did like the atmosphere, ambiance etc and was glad I came out as this place came highly rated. Good portion sizes for sure.
Angel W — Google review
Finally got to try the iconic Rainbow Drive-in and while it’s been around for a long time, I wasn’t that impressed by the food. My sister-in-law ordered the shrimp tempura and spam and eggs plate. Taste was good, average, nothing exciting. My boyfriend ordered the loco moco and was sorely disappointed by the size of the burger patty - small and thin. I did grab a couple of shirts and stickers that were super cute. Probably won’t come back but glad I came to say that I tried it.
Cathy V — Google review
Friday night visit, first time, the macaroni salad had entirely too much mayonnaise. The rice was ok. The meats were the best parts of the entrees:braised chicken thighs and bbq pork. The bbq pork would've been better if it was served with some bbq sauce. The service was fine. They have several tables to sit at or you can get your food to go. The noise level was not too loud, you could easily hear the person next to you.
Tonisha C — Google review
What is it about eating food out of a box, that is just so satisfying? Perhaps it’s because if there’s no mess, there’s no stress! Go ahead a throw etiquette out the window. When you’re eating out of a box, you can really go ham. Food was hearty and freaking yummy. I should really stop writing reviews before lunch time…
Frank B — Google review
This place has rave reviews on social media and is described as a must-try spot when visiting Oahu, so my family and I decided to check it out. The atmosphere is really cool — it has that old-school, retro vibe that makes it feel like a true local favorite. I ordered the famous Loco Moco since everyone online said it was a must, but I personally prefer more flavor in my food. The patties were thin and reminded me of a high school lunch meal — not terrible, just not as flavorful as I expected. My son got the cheeseburger and said it was also pretty bland, which was a bit disappointing considering all the hype. On the bright side, the macaroni salad was excellent — creamy, tasty, and probably the best part of the meal. Overall, it’s worth stopping by for the experience and local vibe, but the food didn’t quite live up to the social media buzz for us.
Rudy G — Google review
So i ordered a pork cutlet... the breading basically slipped off the meat, gravy has no flavor to it, and it is super thick. Mac salad the only highlight of this. Really expected it to be good because the other drive ins are better. The area is just not the best. Lots of homeless. The worker was really grumpy and wasn't the very nicest.

Koko Head Cafe, located in Kaimuki, Honolulu, is a popular brunch spot run by celebrity chef Lee Anne Wong. The menu offers a fusion of Asian and Hawaiian flavors with creative dishes like breakfast udon and congee. One of the highlights is the Koko Moco, featuring a medium-rare beef patty on crispy garlic rice with mushroom gravy, a sunny side egg, and kimchi tempura.
Our server Elizabeth was AMAZING! We stopped by for brunch before a hike while visiting from out of town and she provided such great service that we talked about her the rest of our trip! She helped me pick my entree, gave us recommendations for places to go, and shared such a nice conversation with us. We wanted to go back to eat again just so we could see her! I had the Breakfast Bibimap which was amazing and we shared the Elvis Cinnamon Roll (which I believe was a special). My latte was also great! 10/10 definitely check this place out… and ask for Elizabeth!

Great little restaurant serving up unique dishes. Service was great, prices are a little steep but not out of the norm for Hawaii. It’s not easy to walk to from Waikiki but if you’re looking for what seems to be a popular local restaurant, this is the place. Recommend reservations especially for dinner.
Alan — Google review
Unfortunately the experience here left more to be desired. We had been seated at the bar with the bar tender as our server. This ordinarily wouldn’t be a problem but they sat some of their usual customers next to us with their dog. I love animals but I don’t like them being inside making a fuss while I’m eating. It’s unsanitary and unnecessary when they have patio dining. We had been sitting there for a bit waiting and instead of addressing us first the bar tender started up a conversation & took their drink and food orders before bothering to check in with us. During our wait they apparently have a very obnoxious tradition of adding money to a jar and shouting “adding to the beer fund” where all of the cooks and servers in the back start yelling and shouting. Not something I would expect at a breakfast spot and it definitely left a sour impression when they had to do it a second time just to get a video and were even more obnoxious. While the food is plated very well it’s honestly nothing to write home about. The flavor profile is lackluster & the portion size to pricing needs improvement. I get more of both for less money at other breakfast spots like Moena or island brew in Hawaii Kai. Not sure I will bother wasting my money here again to give it a second chance.

This was a huge surprise for breakfast! Award winning too! They have traditional sandwiches and along with Hawaiian inspired dishes. This is a great place, coffee was good, but definitely better options if you want better coffee! Highly recommend this after the koko Head hike!

Some of the best Brunch money can buy, here or anywhere. The savory dishes like Koko Moco and the Ohayou Eggs were huge hits at our table but the Daily special Pickle Plate was the favorite. The sweet dishes totally stole the show tho. The Daily special Mango Buschetta was a near perfect bite. Everyone raved about the French toast and the pancakes. Absolutely amazing options. This place is worth the trip! And you'll want to come back again and again! Enjoy!

Service - 5 stars Elizabeth was great - when we gave feedback she took it well. Coming from Singapore and LA, our standards for Korean and Japanese food are high. Pineapple lemongrass cooler - 3 stars Couldn't quite taste the lemongrass. Bibimbap - 3 stars Loved the use of the cast iron skillet to mimic the crispy burnt rice you get from a dolsot. The gochujang tastes authentic but the dish was a bit one-dimensional. I think it needed more sesame oil and garlic. Ramen - 1 star Would give this a miss. It was way too salty and after diluting it down the broth just tasted like the American cheese. The meats were definitely too salty too. Noodles were so-so.
N T — Google review
$8 for one biscuit. Insanity. Oh, and they don't tell you the price ahead of time, so if you aren't suspicious enough to ask, you're just going to get screwed. Overhyped and overpriced all around. The Ohayou Eggs were truly gross. More a dip than a dish there was no real stucture to it and the eggs that were buried in the sloppy mess were multiple temps. Both cooked through and runny. Service is spotty. The host crammed us into a tiny booth while comfortable options were available and stayed so for the duration of the meal. The server was knowledgeable aboit all the dishes but never inquired about a completely uneaten meal. The whole experience was only memorable because now I have a new term for completely overpriced experiences. "$105 for breakfast for 2 people? Total biscuit."

I’ve been to the other locations in Japan, but this was my first time eating here in Honolulu. The food was amazing, with very unique recipes and incredible flavors. The matcha was way too sweet for me. I don’t know if they added a lot of sugar to the drink or if the powder is mixed like that, but matcha isn’t supposed to taste that sweet. The staff was friendly; however, Pat, the manager, was a bit creepy. I wouldn’t leave your wife or daughter alone with that guy. 🤣

Heavenly Island Lifestyle is a cozy cafe in Waikiki that offers Hawaiian fare made with fresh, local, and organic ingredients. The menu features healthy options like Hawaiian Pho Noodles and Energy smoothies. The wood-paneled venue at the Shoreliner Hotel provides indoor and outdoor seating for enjoying breakfast items such as acai bowls, French toast, and Eggs Benedict. Their loco moco is a healthier version made with 10-grain rice and organic veggies.
This review is long overdue because the food here is absolutely heavenly—every single dish is made to perfection and full of incredible flavor. I went with my mom and we shared everything so we could try a bit of everything. We started with a Brewed Iced Coffee and also tried Heavenly’s Smoothies Energy, an acai, strawberry, blueberry, and banana blend with soy milk—everything was really good. For the main course, we had the Manoa Honey French Toast made with locally baked sweet bread, organic vanilla, whipped cream, and topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. It was out of this world—perfectly fluffy, sweet, and so fresh. We also ordered the Pho Noodle, a local-style pho with chicken, house-made chicken and beef bone broth, cilantro, and all the classic toppings—spicy ground chili sauce, hoisin, jalapeño, and lime. On the side, we had Portuguese Sausage, which added the perfect savory touch. To finish, we shared the Hawaiian Ginger Crème Brûlée, a local egg custard flavored with Big Island ginger and topped with sugar caramel. It was creamy, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Everything from start to finish was amazing. Even the attention to detail with cleanliness and kitchen/sanitization made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The customer service was also excellent—super friendly and attentive. Honestly, the food is so good here that I just want to keep coming back again and again.

A very unique & lovely small restaurant with Japanese words and pictures on the menu. The server was very friendly and recommended the Egg Benedict, which was filled with shredded pork and was quite delicious. We also ordered the Loco moco, which was also great and was served with whole grain rice. I like the laid-back feel here !

This morning during our vacation we came here for breakfast. They have quite a good selection of standard breakfast options. Each of us tried something different, and I can say the breakfasts were pretty tasty. I had French toast with Hawaiian fruits — the fruits were fresh and delicious, and the toast was good as well. The coffee was okay, but I can’t really say I liked the matcha. It was very hot, not prepared correctly, and the amount of matcha powder was off, which made it quite bitter. The service was pleasant, and there are comfortable outdoor seating areas. Overall, this is a place you could definitely return to for breakfast or maybe lunch. The only thing I’d wish for is better quality in the drinks, like coffee and matcha. In general, a positive impression🥰

A true island gem — amazing food and atmosphere! We had such a great experience at Heavenly Island Lifestyle! The food was absolutely delicious — especially the steak and eggs, which were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The steak was tender and juicy, and the eggs were just right — a perfect start to the day! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with a great island vibe and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Everything felt fresh, local, and full of aloha. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend Heavenly Island Lifestyle to anyone looking for great food and genuine Hawaiian hospitality! 🌺🥩🍳 PS They offer free parking across the street, they will validate your ticket.

Super tasty eggs Benedict with very generous pieces of salmon. The kale salad was very good and there wasn’t too much sauce; the ube fries were original and crunchy! Very filling, perfect for breakfast before adventuring on the island! Also we were staying in the Waikiki Shoreline hotel and had a discount for this place. I recommend it!!

Great selection of food, juices and smoothies. Located along one of the main Waikiki streets, but with good ambience and great service. Visited few times during my stay in Honolulu. Great menu for breakfast and dinner, but also the happy hours lunch menu had few delicious meals. I’ve enjoyed the food and juices, some of their teas, but also had one of the best pina on the island. Worth visiting. Oh, and did I mention that for 2$ extra each, you can add as many eggs as you like to whatever you’ve ordered? For me that’s heaven.

Excellent welcoming service. Hot foods were hot. Cold foods were cold. Best view of that portion of beach. Amazing experience all around. Had the perfect beer moment. Thanks to the awesome service from waitress to food deliver. Will be back next time to this hidden gem.

Given that I'm from Texas, I'm not used to birds flying around restaurants and attempting to eat off my plate, so that made me uncomfortable. The food was overly priced but expected since it's Hawaii. The avocado toast and acai bowl were great. The rest of the food we got was decent. They have great views and good customer service.

Paco was our server and he was awesome. He was very accommodating with our nut allergies and had great recommendations on what we can eat to avoid cross contamination. We had the fish chips which was great, not oily, perfect about of batter. Chicken taco was great, meat was flavorful and juicy. View of the restaurant is stunning over looking Waikiki beach. I for the first time had coconut martini and it did not disappoint. This combination can be dangerous.Restaurant is clean. While enjoy our late lunch we heard Sirens alerting us of a tsunami, of course we all panicked and Paco did a great job calming all the guest and ensuring everything will be fine and to enjoy lunch. Overall great experience here.

Great concept but missed the execution. My seafood coconut chowder had excellent flavors but everything was slightly below temperature. My husband ordered the fish special and his meal was warm, not hot. But again, the flavors were fantastic. Not sure whether the servers or the kitchen are the cause, but I’m leaning toward the kitchen. Pouring hot coconut broth over cold fish makes everything just warm. Perhaps it’s me but I like my hot food to be hot!

Wonderful restaurant with a fantastic view of the beach and Diamond Head. We did happy hour and had a couple of appetizers and salads with fish. The prices were reasonable and the staff was courteous and helpful. Lunch was quite good. Beautiful view and great food.

The food is subpar at best. We had very dry chicken and very dry fish entrees. The local salad was bland. Just order the Hula pie and that’s all. It’s a very nice dessert. The staff and service are excellent. They just need a new menu and chef.

To check off another top Yelp ranked restaurant, my wife and I visited Hula Grill in Waikiki for lunch, and it was an absolute delight! Perched on the second floor above Duke’s Waikiki, the restaurant radiates true Hawaiian charm with live music and a lively bar that creates a perfect balance of relaxed and vibrant energy. We were seated near the balcony, soaking in a stunning view of Waikiki Beach with a refreshing ocean breeze. The atmosphere was everything you’d hope for in an island dining experience—laid-back, welcoming, and full of aloha spirit. The food was the highlight of our visit. We tried the Korean spicy fried chicken, and it was hands-down the best we’ve ever tasted—sorry, LA Koreatown, this one’s unbeatable! Crispy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of spice, it was a dish we’ll be craving for weeks. When the staff learned it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a complimentary slice of their famous hula cake, a rich and tropical dessert that was the perfect finishing touch. That thoughtful gesture made the meal even more special. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home without ever being overbearing. We heard evenings can get crowded since Hula Grill is one of Waikiki’s most popular spots, but our lunchtime visit was just right—bustling yet comfortable. The entire experience made our anniversary truly memorable, and we’re already excited to return. Huge thanks to Hula Grill for such an unforgettable day!

We had a great lunch here. The fish and chips were delicious (very crunchy and good flavor) and the loco moco was a great surprise (no burger patty, but a variety of other meats). The service by Luis was excellent; he was friendly, professional, and helpful…superstar/management material for sure!

A perfect spot for authentic Hawaiian food! From classics like laulau to poke, it’s a delicious introduction to Hawaiian cuisine and a must-try for first-timers. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in the area again! 🌺🍴

Pork Lau Lau Platter - 4 stars Squid had a delicious coconut sauce. Pork was decent. Not used to poi that's slightly fermented and sour. Mixed short rib and chicken platter - 4 stars Meat was overall well-seasoned and well-cooked.

We visited Highway Inn in Kakaʻako to try some local Hawaiian food, and overall it was a good experience. The menu had a great variety of traditional dishes, which made it easy to explore different flavors of the islands. However, the seating area felt a bit disorganized, and perhaps because the staff were very busy, the service didn’t feel very attentive. That said, the atmosphere was still pleasant, and the food made it worth the visit. It’s a good spot if you’re looking to experience local cuisine in a casual setting.

First of all we came on a Saturday nite around 6pm. Everyone in your party needs to be present. You put your name on a list and they'll let you know when your table is ready. We were told for that time it would be around 20minutes and sure enough, we were called in 20minutes. However one friend was still looking for parking but even with her arriving, the wait wasn't long. I don't eat Hawaiian food as I'm pescatarian but I love squid luau and that is what I ordered. It was delish, I only wished there was more of it. I also felt like certain sides should just automatically come with it like lomi lomi as that's more of an accompaniment than a side imo. I also could have used more rice. lol. Items are served on plates that remind me of elementary school dishes where everything is divided. It was all very tasty and service was good. I'll definitely come back as my kid loves laulau chicken long rice. My friends laulau looked awesome. Parking was definitely a challenge at that time so be mindful.

I had the fish tacos. I thought the fish was dry and tough. My partner had the combo platter. Chicken beef and fish with white rice. It was very good. They had a one man band which was really nice. I would definitely go back and try something else

We got there around 1pm. The place had lots of empty tables and people were waiting, but the girl at the front was super slow, not seating people on time. We noticed there is a bar and asked if it's 1st come, 1st serve, she said yes, but she needed to clean it. It took her 15 minutes to clean the spots. Then one party behind showed up asking if they can sit at the bar, she seated them immediately. I confronted her. She apologized and said it's her 1st day and would seat us immediately We got seated, it took them another 20 minutes to take order from us. We waited another 15 minutes, the waitress told us she forgot to enter the order and just reordered it. The fish taco was decent. My salad has rotten pieces in it. The The place is not well organized at all. No smile, no greeting. No Aloha spirit. Please don't claim to be a Hawaiian restaurant.

I visited Highway Inn Kaka'ako to try traditional Hawaiian food, and it went far beyond my expectations. The flavors, the presentation, and the overall experience were all fantastic. If you're going solo and don't mind sitting at the bar, you might get seated pretty quickly. Otherwise, be prepared for a bit of a wait—this place is popular for a reason! That said, once seated, the food came out fast, and the service was excellent. The quality of the food was phenomenal—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. I also really appreciated the small guide they provide, which explains what each traditional dish is—super helpful if you're new to Hawaiian cuisine. I'd highly recommend Highway Inn Kaka'ako to anyone looking to experience real Hawaiian food in a welcoming, down-to-earth spot.

This charming cafe specializes in breakfast and lunch, showcasing local ingredients infused with unique Hawaiian flavors. One must-try dish is their renowned pancakes, which come in tempting varieties like cinnamon roll topped with cream cheese syrup or banana Chantilly adorned with toasted coconut.
The Crab Benedict with extra hollandaise is so ono. Choke moist crab and aloha in every bite. Perfectly poached eggs without clear egg whites running out with the yolk. Grilled in butter bread on the bottom. Mahalo nui loa! Here’s a photo of half of my ono grindz.

Nice little place to enjoy breakfast food at lunch time. It's not listed as brunch, but it's brunch. Small little place. Good service. Food is good. We got: Coffee oreo scone- it's really good, although we didn't taste the oreo. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be oreo cookies? Cinnamon pancakes- good but could have more flavor. They are huge, about 11 inches or 12. Eggs Benedict- were really good! Cappuccino- not good, was weak. Coffee- was off, like the cream wasn't good to mix with it. Something like that. You do get 1 free coffee refill. Would go back and get the same scone, eggs benedict, and maybe try something else sweet.

Perfect breakfast stop on our way to a hike. My husband and I split the Kalua Pig Benedict and it was divine. Service was friendly and fast. I’m super picky about my poached eggs and they were perfect.

Nice place with excellent food! You should trust the waitress when she tells you the regular pancakes are huge - because they are!! Small plate would have been enough. Excellent place to start off Koko Head Trail.

Food was pretty bland with not much flavor. I ordered the Cuban panini and had to ask for more mustard because I couldn’t taste any. The sandwich itself was also very small. I got it with a side salad, and the dressing had a jelly-like texture. My husband ordered the Loco Moco and said it didn’t have much flavor either. We shared a waffle, but the texture was more like a pancake. I would’ve preferred it toasted and crisp. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the place was very clean. Overall, probably won’t visit again.

Eggs Benedict was delish! There was a very thick piece of very good ham on a huge toasted garlic bread. You can order potatoes with this, but honestly I would not have been able to eat it all bc the Benedict was enough. Hubby had avocado toast and loved every bite. Again, huge toasted garlic bread. Very filling! Passion-orange-guava juice was perfection, especially after hiking up to the Lighthouse. I noticed many others who were eating came after the sunrise walk up Makapu'u Point Lighthouse. Coffee was top notch! Seems like to perfect eat to start your day AFTER early rising for hiking Koko Head as well!

Hidden local dive. 10/10 for everything and worth the drive down from the east side. Husband ranted and raved about how thick his pork belly was on his eggs Benedict and practically licked his plate clean. I got the classic pancake breakfast so I could gauge the quality of the pancakes (hallmark of any breakfast place) and was impressed on the flavor and comfort of the meal. Will be coming back with the kids and the PRICE can’t be beat.

Oh my gosh! So dang good! Portions were great, flavor was incredible, everything was perfect. They had so many options and everything we ordered was absolutely 10/10! If you love Ube this is the place to go. Fun and flavorful ube dishes with lots of purple color and a great price. The line can be a little long, so I recommend grabbing a spot on line with yelp. Definitely recommend getting the Ube pancakes at least one time if you are in Honolulu.

Good! But I don't think it's worth waiting in line for. We went at 7:30, so thankfully no wait. Line started forming around 8am. Food came out on the slower side. Ube pancakes were fluffy. Drenched in ube sauce, so only order it if you're a fan of ube.

A local referred me to this spot. Went on a Friday at 12:30pm. Few people waiting ahead. Put my name on waiting list and was called right away. Ordered the prime rib loco moco and it was worth every penny. It was a good sized portion; tender, cooked to perfection (medium rare), and tasty. There were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try. I can see why it's a locals favorite. Edit: Came back the next day. Arrived at 10:50 and put my name on waiting list, advised that it could be an hour wait (which it was). Ordered the prime rib skillet and the Aloha Ube French toast. This place is hands down one of the best values for food. Not only is the food awesome, the portions were generous. They did not skimp on the meat in the skillet and look at that French toast plate (I'm a pretty big eater and was fighting to finish the French toast). Bookmark this spot! You won't be disappointed.

We went there on Friday about 1020a. This is where the old likelike drive inn is. There is a moderate limit of free parking with surrounding street parking. Atmosphere is definitely more modern and bright. We had the ube pancakes, kalbi & kim chee fried rice, and the big breakfast. We tried the taro latte and guava ice tea. The food and drinks were really tasty. We would eat here again

Small local cafe. Highly recommend making a reservation if you know what time you want to go. Very little parking in the plaza, but there is street parking available and Walmart is across the street. DELICIOUS food, service can be slow when crowded. Great portion sizes and I’ll definitely be back. Worth the 5-10 wait we had with no reservations

Kalihi's Pancakes & Waffles is a diner that specializes in breakfast classics and local favorites. It has 4.6 stars based on 172 reviews, making it a popular spot for hungry diners. Its items are usually well priced and tasty, but its eggs Benedict isn't their best dish. Be sure to leave a tip!
Get their fried rice loco moco and thank me later!!! It's hands down one of the best loco mocos I've had! Oh yes I still have leftovers in my fridge! Why did I like it? Coz it's just pure umami in every bite, so good that my hubs who's usually into sweet stuff for breakfast said he would order my dish next time we're here. The over easy egg was cooked perfectly. The gravy was flavorful without being too salty. The burger patty wasn't too greasy but still had a lot of flavor. And omg the fried rice. I don't know why they put in there. It's just heaven for every single bite. Definitely do the fried rice and not the plain white rice. We also got the apple caramel pancakes. It's like apple pie pancakes and it's perfect if you like that apple pie flavor. I enjoyed it especially their pancakes tasted buttery and soft. Also got the clam chowder. Great flavor but not sure why it's slightly yellowish. Maybe the broth they use? It's a way better value to get their bowl versus their cup. They also put a lot of clams in there! Service was prompt and friendly given that they had signs out asking customers to be patient as they're understaffed, like many other restaurants. We paid for our food at the counter, took a number and sat down at a booth. Our server brought the right utensils including a spoon for my bowl of clam chowder. Prices were very reasonable too. I would totally come back for some more food!

Went here for breakfast on the way to Pearl Harbor. It is located in a strip mall so the ambiance is nothing to write home about. They had a good menu and the service was friendly and accommodating. I asked about purchasing a shirt (I liked the T-shirts they were wearing as part of their uniform). They didn’t have any my size but when they brought our food out they had called their other locations and confirmed that they did have my size in stock. I had a waffle and it was a solid choice for breakfast. If you are looking for a place that the locals go to for breakfast and want fast friendly service then this is a good choice

We were on a layover waiting for our next flight and wanted a good breakfast meal. This is the place. We stopped in on a day where they had a meet and greet with the University of Hawaii sports teams out front. Walking in you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. We ordered a standard breakfast two eggs bacon and French toast and a macadamia nut waffle with eggs and bacon. Everything had good flavor and the whole meal was very filling. The dining area had a typical diner feel. The staff was very friendly and they had a lady in the dining room who was continually cleaning. This place is definitely worth the visit.

Another hidden gem in Kalihi. If you want a breakfast that's so good, it breaks your mouth, this is your place. This is what a small local dinner is supposed to be like, friendly, clean with great food that tastes homemade. When you come here remember they are short staffed so exercise some patience. Also, they do not accept cash, credit card only. Please, stop by and help this place survive.

This place was alrightttt. Lady taking my order could have been a bit more friendly but I get it it’s early in the morning. Overall my meal was okay. Everything was way over salted and the potatoes were undercooked and not very warm. The biscuit and gravy was good… just super salty

Wow, what a great find! On our way to the airport decided to get some brunch and found this awesome spot. The chicken and waffles drew me in! Great crispy chicken with delicious waffles- and the serving was huge, definitely enough to share! Kid 1 got the banana pancakes stack of 3 (you choose 1, 3, or 5) She was only able to chomp 2. I took a bite, pancakes are so fluffy and just enough sweetness with the banana Kid 2 got the strawberry waffle, cute with all the whipped cream, definitely more than enough for a kid. Hubby had the French toast with sausage and eggs. Place was clean with plenty of tables around 11am, but soon after the line was out the door- many were to go orders. Warning, restrooms are in the complex across and cashier will give you the key to open. Overall, great food, generous servings, and happy family ready to board our flight back home 🤙

I was craving chicken and waffles, so I decided to check this place out. I got there around 11 a.m., not busy at all. Took a few minutes to be acknowledged by the cashier (there are 2 of them), so I had ample time to look at the menu. Took a little longer again for the cashier to take my order. Here, you basically order with the cashier. They give you a number to place on your table. When your food is ready, someone else brings the food to your table. I ordered chicken and waffles with country gravy, side of eggs. Waffles were ok. Nothing exciting. I couldn't wait to take a bite of the chicken. Well, ...turns out I could. I could wait to cook my own chicken and waffles. It was like they cooked it yesterday and left it under the heating lamp. From the texture and battered, it was not crispy at all. Beyond disappointed. The country gravy had no flavor at all. The eggs were the only thing that tasted fresh and good. The place has a great variety of other options on their menu. The guy sitting next to me had fried rice and eggs. His look good. He ate it all. So, not everything is a disappointment here. I suggested you guys come try it for yourself. Form your own opinion. Support local business.

Goofy Cafe & Dine is a laid-back restaurant located within the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, offering a relaxed atmosphere with a surfer vibe. The cafe is known for its locavore Hawaiian cuisine, serving up farm-to-table breakfast options all day long. Despite having a small menu, the eatery prides itself on flavorful dishes made with fresh local ingredients. With friendly service and reasonable prices, it's a popular choice for breakfast in Waikiki.
I stopped by Goofy Café & Dine this morning, about 30 minutes after opening, and the place was already packed! It’s on a second floor overlooking Ala Moana Blvd, with open windows that give it a great vibe…definitely made me wish I was dining in instead of taking out. Laura took my order and was so kind and genuine, it made the whole experience all the better. My food was ready in about 20 minutes, hot and packaged thoughtfully. She even kept my fruit plate separate from the hot dishes. We tried the Loco Moco and the Hawaiian French toast. I usually go for savory, but the French toast was the winner, light, not overly sweet, and topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit. The loco moco was tasty too, with fresh in-house patties and rich gravy. It’s easy to see why the place fills up so quickly

Why'd they name it Goofy? I don't know, it's an ordinary cafe'. The food was good with ample portions. The taste was good, not great, not spectacular but a solid good. It just likeom used to make if she was a mediocre cook. This place is the same, they have their great dishes and the majority are good. It will fill you up and not make I feel cheated. The lemonade is great! I would back just for a tall cool sip of that sweet and sour nectar. It's an upstairs establishment, do if you can't climb steps, bring someone to carry you. I'd do it for a lemonade. (Disclaimer: if you are height and weight proportionate). So the view of the street is nice. You can sit and watch the people walking by. It is a small place so be prepared to wait. That's about it, it's another local grinds cafe'

Got there 2 mins to 7am when they open and we missed the sign up for first round of tables. We were a table of 2 and landed at number 16 on the waitlist. I'd recommend coming 10 to 15 mins early to sign up on the wait list sheet. Service is excellent. The staff are friendly and the lady spoke fluent Japanese. Those who couldn't wait on the wait list were offered to do take out. Atmosphere is very Hawaiian. The tables and chairs were the theme of a shack house and Hawaiian ukulele music was playing in the background. Cute restaurant on a second floor of a building. We got in at 7:35am and ordered by 7:40. Food and drinks came by 7:50am. Food was so delicious we finished at 7:58am. Papaya smoothie says limited, so I'm not sure if it's seasonal or until sold out. Was very good and can taste the lime in the smoothie. My friend had the POG mix. Strong guava flavour which is good. Not as sweet as my smoothie probably because of the orange juice. We shared the big breakfast loco moco. It was one of the best dishes I've had. I want to come back for the lunch loco moco which comes with fried rice instead of brown rice. The hamburger was slightly charred which gave it such a good flavour. The gravy reminded me of a Japanese hayashi rice. That gravy was savory and had butter flavours. Sunny side eggs had a crispy rim on the eggs. Loved it all and we had side plates so my friend who didn't like her rice draining in sauce while I loved my rice swimming in sauce could both satisfy our tastes. Highly recommend for their loco moco. I will come here everytime I come back to honolulu now. Update: I came back for lunch on a Tuesday. No line up and seating was relaxed. Ordered the lunch loco moco, green pasta, and pineapple iced tea. The lunch loco moco is $5 more than the breakfast loco moco. It was worth the extra $5. Instead of just brown rice, it comes with fried rice with kale, corn, and pork. My friend found it a bit salty after a few bites, but I loved it even more than the breakfast loco moco. It was really tasty and paired well with the pineapple iced tea. The pineapple iced tea was sweet but not too sweet. Bonus, it has free refills. Before leaving I wanted one more refill and the server asked if I wanted to take it to go. Service is excellent and staff are so friendly. Different servers for both visits, but everyone was attentive and all smiles. My friend had the green pasta, she really liked the nutty flavours. I tasted it and it had pesto and macadamia nuts. The garlic shrimp was good, but I felt the shrimp was slightly overcooked. Pasta was saucy, but texture of the pasta was very good and not too soft. Not the dish for me, but my friend said it's one of the best pastas she has had.

Hit this place right in the middle of my morning run. The Hawaiian Omelette was soooo good and the Taro Muffin substitute - go for it! That muffin was so good I ran with the other half in my pocket on the way home… not recommended but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. This place filled my tummy in a way it hasnt been filled in a while, you know that good full feeling that reaches your heart? Yeah, that one.😋 I came by myself and got a table in about 15-20 minutes (Arrived around 7:45am). The staff is so friendly and add to the ambiance. Definitely hit it up. This visit I went with savory, next time I wanna try the sweet stuff 🧇 🤙🏽

Don't let the name make you think this place isn't worth the trip, it definitely is. Walk up, sign the wait-list and wait to get seated. We had bfast here twice this week. The acai bowls are huge, and they are not shy with the amount of fruit added to the acai bowls, or the French toast, so your money is well spent. Coffee is good, the open-air atmosphere is very relaxed. It's an older building, but done up nicely inside.

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and decided to try Goofy’s for breakfast. I ordered the sweet bread French toast with berries—delicious, and definitely something I’d recommend. My husband went with the loco moco; he enjoyed it but felt it was pretty average compared to others he tried during our trip. When you arrive, you’ll need to add your name to the waitlist. We waited about 40 minutes before being seated. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so wait times can be long, though it seemed that parties of two were seated much quicker than larger groups.

This is a must do in Honolulu! Especially if you are close to or staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village! We ate her last time visiting 7 years ago - we’re thrilled it was still here. And loved it just as much this time. It’s a smaller space - and there appears to be a short line all morning - but don’t be discouraged- it is so so worth waiting 5-15 minutes. So many great dishes to choose from! Their Benedict’s are crazy delicious! Had their vegetarian one - and recommend trying it with the taro muffin! I decided on the Morning Power Salad (can you tell we were trying for healthy for this meal - lol!). Yikes was it amazingly good! And you can tell from the picture - very healthy too! I could not finish it so - have a second meal for later! All the vegetables and fruits were so fresh and crisp and delicious! Could not resist the fresh pineapple - and glad I had poor will power. Just capped of a tremendous breakfast. Have to say that the wait staff/team were so friendly and thoughtful - despite being busy. Joshua always had a smile and was quick to help! So highly recommend having breakfast at this awesome spot - almost one of those classic hole in the wall spots that most will miss. Don’t you miss it!!

Breakfast restaurant
Cafe
Aloha Kitchen is a popular local diner in Kaimuki, offering a variety of traditional breakfast and lunch dishes with a Hawaiian twist. The restaurant is known for its soufflé pancakes, which are light and airy, melting in your mouth. In addition to the delicious breakfast options, they also serve Hawaii-style dishes for lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Despite being busy, the service is fast, ensuring that customers are served promptly.
On the final day of my trip, I came here for my last meal to try the pancakes at this famous café. There were over ten groups waiting, but after about 20 minutes I was kindly offered to share a table with a woman who was dining alone. Both she and the staff member at the time were incredibly cheerful and kind. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the delicious pancakes, but I also left with a wonderful and unforgettable memory that made me truly happy. I am very grateful for both the warm service and the chance to meet that lovely woman.

I took my granddaughters to this charming little breakfast spot, and we had a delightful experience 🥞🍳. The friendly and accommodating staff made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Our server, Oz, was exceptional; he checked on us frequently and ensured our needs were met with a warm smile. The convenience of this restaurant being just a short stroll from our hotel made our visit even more enjoyable. And I can't forget to mention the Mac-nut Soufflé—it was absolutely divine, with a fluffy texture and rich flavor that left us all raving.

If you’re in the mood for authentic island flavors and a true taste of Hawaii, Aloha Kitchen is the spot! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and the aroma of fresh, home-cooked Hawaiian comfort food. The menu has everything from plate lunches to local favorites, and everything I’ve tried has been spot-on. But let me tell you — the stouffle is the real star here! It’s hands down one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Imagine the perfect mix between a pancake, a soufflé, and pure heaven. It’s light, fluffy, and melts in your mouth, with just the right touch of sweetness. Whether you go with the strawberry, banana, or classic version, you honestly can’t go wrong. It’s a must-try and worth the trip all on its own! The portions are generous, the service is fast and friendly, and the vibe is laid-back and welcoming — exactly what you’d expect from a place that carries the true spirit of “aloha.” If you haven’t been to Aloha Kitchen, do yourself a favor and go. And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying the stouffle!

Tucked away off Ena road, Aloha Kitchen is a must stop place for breakfast and brunch. We decided to get there before it opened and to our surprise there was already a line forming. They have a sign in sheet so if you do choose to get there early, put your name down and once they open they will call your name out. We had the pleasure of being greeted by one of their workers who just oozes energy and hospitality. Immediately made us feel welcome and cracked jokes to lighten the mood while the rest waited outside for their seats. Although the interior is small and cozy, it does hold quite a bit of tables and seats. Ordered the souffle pancakes which were super light and fluffy covered with coconut cream sauce and topped with crushed macadamia nuts. The cream sauce had just the right amount of sweetness to it which was not overbearing sweet where you couldn't finish it. Also ordered the eggs Benedict which was savory and well seasoned. The eggs were poached perfectly and was not over salted. Definitely recommend stopping by here for one of your morning breakfast/ brunch when you visit the islands in the Waikiki area. Parking is very limited but if you're lucky, there are places to find parking on the street nearby.

We came here maybe 4 or 5 times while in Hawaii. The soufflé pancakes are amazing! My husband and I got the fruit option and the coconut. I loved the fruit (has pineapple, melons, strawberries). Their loco moco is really good too! I usually get the gravy on the side. For iced coffee, I’d definitely recommend the vanilla iced latte. My husband loves their fresh orange juice. Some reviews have said that the staff are rude. However, I disagree. They are friendly if you are friendly back. “If you give aloha, you will get aloha back”. The wait can be a bit long, but in my opinion it is worth it. Although I do not recommend this place for big groups. It’s a smaller space and they don’t have many big tables available.
A A — Google review
Just WOW!!! That's about all there is to say about this place. Food is amazing, and the atmosphere is out of this world 😎Place only seats about 15-20 people, so unless you are one of the 1st to get there expect a wait. It seems the turnaround/wait isn't bad at all. There were about 4 groups ahead of us and we waited about 15 minutes, not bad in my opinion. I had the Kalua Loco, and my wife had the lobster benedict. Had to share the enormous souffle pancake.
Justin V — Google review
Visited Hawaii and took a walk from Waikiki Beach up to Aloha Kitchen such a great spot! We had the guava juice, the loco moco, and a strawberry soufflé pancake, and everything was absolutely delicious. The service was super friendly, and while there was a bit of a lineup, it’s easy to see why the food is that good. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I visit!
Austin O — Google review
If there is a line, it’s worth the wait. The soufflé pancakes were amazing and the eggs Benedict was great. The atmosphere and the servers were amazing. Everything was perfect, highly recommend.

Bowling alley
The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl offers a unique dining experience with its creative Asian-inspired comfort food served in a casual bowling alley setting. One of the highlights is their famous lemon crunch cake, featuring layers of moist cake filled with lemon curd and topped with whipped cream and toffee bits. While the atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, some diners found the food to be somewhat bland and were disappointed by limited menu options during their visit.
Restaurant in a bowling alley. Amazing flavor of chicken. Portions are big so if you don't eat alot, definitely share! Pumpkin crunch here is soooo good. Always a classic. Parking can get tight, place does get really busy, plan ahead!
Michelle L — Google review
I get very happy when I’m doing a review for somewhere in Aiea. This is my hometown after all. Since I’m married, I’ve lived in Wahiawa just almost as long as I did growing up in Aiea but my ties are still as strong as they ever were. My reviews however, I promise you, will always be honest! The Alley in Aiea Bowl has always been a favorite of mine. The food here is SUPER ONO and the Pepsi Cola Turkey Sandwich is a must. This is the only place on Oahu that I would pick turkey out of my favorite Teri beef, Kalbi, BBQ chicken or smoked rib meats. Nowhere else would I do that. It’s that incredibly delicious. Order some waffle fries, any dessert from here and you’re happy the rest of the day. My husband loves the hamburger steak plate here and I guarantee you just about everything else on the menu too because after many many years of eating here is proof. Today I was craving their carrot cake that not many talk about because all their desserts are crazy yummy but I’m here to say it’s a slice of happiness! Placing a phone order here does sometimes require patience. I actually called the day before a couple times but no answer. The female that answered today wasn’t cheerful or accurate ( I was actually missing an order of waffle fries. I know I ordered two) so check your order. Still, it’s worth making here a regular spot and support long time local businesses!
Tammy K — Google review
We ordered takeout from The Alley for a pizza date night, and while the food tasted great, there was a mix-up with our order. My husband picked it up, and by the time we opened the box at home, we realized it wasn’t what we ordered. It was too late to fix, so we just went with it and thankfully, it was still really good. The food itself deserves 5 stars, but the order mistake knocked the overall experience down a bit. Service could be more careful, especially with takeout. That said, we’ve enjoyed the atmosphere when dining in before. Fun, local, and welcoming. We’ll definitely give it another shot, just hoping for the right order next time!
Donna T — Google review
The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl is just super amazing. You might think it’s just a bowling alley but you’d be surprised. It’s more than a restaurant in a bowling alley it’s one of the best restaurants in Aiea or maybe even the island. First of all they serve many local favorites such as ox tail soup and plate lunch items. I personally love the tasty chicken which is fried chicken that is fire. It has a sweet, garlicky, shoyu taste which compliments the nice crispy moist chicken. Service is excellent and food always comes out quick and made to order. This is a place I highly recommend and enjoy.
Tyler F — Google review
We came for lunch after locals recommended it but once we saw the desert case, we decided to order desserts. The pumpkin crunch was my favorite- so cool and creamy. But the lemon crunch cake is what they are known for. It was a moist sponge with thin layers of lemon curd and crunch topping.
Tonya K — Google review
Casual dining spot as it is located inside a bowling alley. So the atmosphere is loud. Not your typical bowling alley food that you would expect. Had to try the featured oxtail soup. Broth was beefy, rich and savory. Oxtail was tender but it had really fatty pieces. For 26$ that was disappointing. Kalbi and furikake ahi were okay. Parking was a little difficult.
Marilyn — Google review
I finally made it in! ATMOSPHERE: The “restaurant” fills the lobby of the bowling alley with low tops and booths. There’s even a bakery tucked away. Expect noise as you’re literally amongst the bowlers who also provide some people-watching entertainment. It was very cold inside, with my only concern being the food cooling down faster. RESERVATIONS: None taken. We had a short 10 minute wait on a Saturday morning at 11am. PARKING: We easily found open stalls but I can see it being a problem at night. MENU: Mishmash of bar-style apps, American & local Hawai’i fare, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and really good desserts. FOOD: Saimin Textbook recipe and a hearty serving to boot. Steamy hot and delicate broth, chewy noodles, slices of Spam, charsiu and kamaboko, along with two whole bok choy, made for a delish lunch. Don’t worry if it’s hot out as it’s very nippy inside, like eating it on a chilly day. Recommended. Alley Burger The spouse added bacon, mushrooms and opted for waffle fries. Highly recommended as he said it’s one of the best burgers he’s had. Caesar Salad It’s not on the menu but our accommodating server made it happen. Thanks! DESSERT: Pumpkin Crunch Square Nom!? Nutty shortbread crust stacked high with pumpkin filling and a decadent layer of whipped cream. Great price too. Strawberry Crunch Cake Slice Nom number two. 3-layer yellow cake with a creamy and crunchy filling in between that reminded me of my sister’s strawberry cream cheese Jello dessert. SERVICE: Host greeting was immediate. Leave your name and number and they’ll text and overhead page you when your table is ready. Male server was professional and attentive. OVERALL: The diner still exists and this one includes a bowling alley!
Maui T — Google review
I would have given the alley 5 stars but the service is just a little slow but they only had one server for the whole place it felt like… he was very friendly but still only one guy?! The food was amazing and the prices so worth it. They keep talking about the chicken and it’s definitely worth getting, and the oxtail love it, better than Zippys could ever do. Atmosphere… well it’s a bowling alley, so of course it loud and my kid will want to run around screaming but I enjoy it. All in all good food, great prices, and will definitely come back again.

ALOHA TABLE Waikiki is a charming cafe that offers a unique blend of Hawaiian and Japanese cuisine. Nestled on a quiet street, the restaurant exudes an inviting ambiance with its French colonial decor, complete with tropical ceiling fans and tiki torches on the lanai.
Aloha Table Waikiki is amazing. The food here is outstanding—everything we tried was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the loco moco. The Big Island Loco Burger was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. The Mochiko Fried Chicken looked pretty dry but surprisingly it had the perfect crunch and was tender and juicy inside. Another thing I would recommend is the Kalua pork nachos. The combination of crispy chips, savory pork, and melted cheese was next-level delicious. Great food, friendly service, and a fantastic atmosphere—this place is a must-visit in Waikiki.

I was in the mood for some brunch. I have been here before so I decided to return. The staff are all very helpful and kind. Several can speak Japanese also. The food is very delicious and I ordered the non alcoholic whole pina colada, the jerky and Loco Moco. It was all delicious. They have a lot of seating and many menu options to choose from. I highly recommend visiting if you are in Waikiki.

A trip to the island isn’t complete unless you come to Aloha table! 3 years later the food is still as amazing as it used to be. Tried 4 different spots for loco loco and by far none of them came close to the Kobe beef loco moco. The meat was the juiciest and best gravy flavor!
Peter — Google review
This place serve local dish like locomoco and garlic shrimp. For appetizer, spicy pickled pineapple is a must try. It comes with jalapeño and pineapple and it gives a little kick and really refreshing for Hawaii heat. A lot of people order loco moco. Spicy garlic shrimp comes with macaroni, rice and salad. The spicy garlic sauce goes perfect with white rice and adding picked jalapeno and pineapple with the shrimp will elevate your appetite.

This was a cute restaurant on the second floor that we stumbled upon walking. They had a great atmosphere with quick food service. Our service was friendly. 1. Taste of aloha sampler - everything on this plate was fresh and quality ingredients. The tomatoes were delicious, the shrimp was prepared well and fresh, and the only call out is that it does have the shell on the outside. Which you can choose to eat or remove. (4.5/5 🌟) 2. King Locomoco with garlic rice - this dish was delicious, but be prepared it's large. We probably should have ordered a size smaller. It is a heavier style dish, which is good for sharing. (5/5 🌟) I would recommend this place to anyone in the area who wants to try Hawaiian food.

Excellent hostess, server and chef! I had the happy hour Spinach salad and Scallops Poke. We shared the edamame and pork nachos. These were appetizer sizes but plenty enough for me and my wife. All were excellent! The atmosphere has a friendly, local vibe. It’s a bistro style focused on high quality, well prepared dishes at reasonable prices. For drinks I had the blue Hawaiian and my wife had the aloha blonde beer (2!😂). Everything was 100% as expected except to pork nachos exceeded! The scallop poke had (I think) small caviar which really made it beyond expectation especially for the value. 100% recommended.

This is a cute small restaurant. My husband and I choose this place just randomly. We found it while we were walking on the street and decided to try it. The menu has some dishes that I never heard of, such as "SPICY PICKLED PINEAPPLE" and we decided to try it. Well, it was kinda spicy, and for the experience, it was nice to try. I ordered "Lemon butter garlic shrimp" and my husband had ribs. My shrimp were okay but they were served not peeled and I had to peel them first. The sauce was good. Other than that I cannot say that there was something special about it.

Moke's Bread & Breakfast Kaimuki is the second location of the popular Kailua breakfast spot, now situated in the old Kan Zaman space in Kaimuki. A must-try at Moke's is their famous lilikoi pancakes, known for their light and fluffy batter topped with a creamy lilikoi sauce.
Moke’s is one of our favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Kaimuki. All of the staff are friendly and attentive, making the entire meal such a relaxing and pleasant experience. We love the Lilikoi pancakes (so fluffy and ono), their Loco Moco is one of my favorite on the island, the Reuben sandwich always satisfies my cravings for a NYC Reuben sandwich. The Moke’s proprietary blend of coffee goes perfectly with any of the breakfast offerings. For breakfast, try to get there before 9:00am or be prepared to wait a bit to get a table because Moke’s is a super popular spot for the locals and tourists.

I decided to try this place with the wife and kids. Upon arriving they were very accommodating. We had two small babies so we definitely appreciate them being helpful in getting them situated. Also our server Dallas gave us a great recommendation of an off menu item called the Jazzy Jeff. It’s sort of like a breakfast Philly cheese steak item with eggs and rice. So glad he recommended it as it was amazing! Great experience and food! Would go again!

Came in on a Thursday morning for brunch. Not too crowded, the service was good. I had the Liliko'i Pancake and it was fluffy and delicious. Perfect mixture of tart and sweet. My friend had the Loco Moco and judging by the speed that he ate, it must've been pretty good!
Lesley T — Google review
This is the best breakfast we have tried on the islands. We liked it so much we went back 3 times. The first time we got the traditional Hawaiian breakfast with Banana pancakes it was all so delicious! The next couple times we got the Lilikoi pancakes those were amazing. The sauce is tasty the Lilikoi is not overpowering it is just the right amount of sweetness. The pancakes themselves are delicious, light and fluffy. A must try if you are able at any point on your trip.
Freddy G — Google review
We found Moke’s through a quick Google search and are happy to have found this gem. We tried Jazzy Jeff, their take on the Loco Moco from the “secret menu”, and the Sunrise Breakfast featuring the famous Liliko’i pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Both dishes were delicious! The Jazzy Jeff portion size is quite large so don’t expect to finish it unless you come very hungry. The pancakes tasted great and the passion fruit sauce on top was addictive. No syrup needed. All in all it was great value and the staff were friendly. We were even given a sample of their honey biscuits on the house.

Heard so many good stories about their plate lunches I couldn't resist. Service staff friendly and efficient, keep waiting time to a minimum. Besides their daily specials which sound enticing I decided to go old skool and got their Loco Moco. Let's break it down. Gravy was excellent, perfect consistency, full body beefy flavor. Beef patty smashed and smoky grilled with a nice crust 2 eggs over easy with nice runny yolks. Perfect rice and potato macaroni sides. Check out their menu, every dish sounds great and this is in addition to their 4-5 daily specials. Makes me miss Hawaii even more, life is not fair

I stumbled on this place randomly via Google Maps, wow wow wow! The location is a bit hidden, in the middle of a local district, nice and clean inside. The food is so so good, typical plate lunch offerings, they have regular dishes, sandwiches, as well as specials. I got the steak poke, and the bang bang salmon katsu, so delicious!!! The portion is very generous too. Would love to come back and try the other stuff. The store is frequented by a lot of locals and repeated customers, the staff is very sweet. Highly highly recommend you to step out of Waikiki to get here, experiencing the local aloha.

Ngl...the only time I visit Hamada General store is for the Hot Ginger Fried Chicken. I've had other things on the menu, but anytime they post on Ig this special...I call my connection to order and be first in line. Usually when this special is available, it sells out in the first 15 mins at opening. Mind you that they open at 9am...people order 9 at a time....its ridiculous. Other the years, the ginger chicken has changed...cant quite figure it out, but its not as good as it was.

This place is a hidden gem! Casual lunch spot with delicious grinds. They mostly offer plate lunches and have four specialty sandwiches. They also had some daily specials. I ordered the kimchi Ruben sandwich (a regular item on the menu) and oh my goodness was it incredible (I still think about it and it’s been two weeks since we ate here). If I recall correctly, sandwiches come with a choice of side- mac salad all the way for me. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back. Free parking available in lot infront of building. Nice little mom-and-pop café with ube pancakes. I had their seasonal special, which included a sample of their loco moco, crab eggs Benedict, and ube pancake. The pancake and eggs Benedict were the stars of the plate. The pancake was fluffy and delicious, not overly sweet, which I liked. The Benedict had a good amount of crab flavor. The loco moco was just okay, the burger meat was tough and hard to eat, and I could have done without it. Seating is limited, but the service was friendly. Coffee was good too.
V N — Google review
We were disappointed with the amount of ube mascarpone we got compared to what the other tables got. But the ube pancakes were the best thing we tried there. My husband was not a fan of the prime rib with eggs that he got. He said it was very mid, nothing special. I got the crab cake Benedict and I thought that was really good. Overall, expect to wait for at least 30 minutes to be seated. The tables are all very close together and it’s pretty much always crowded. Service is a bit slow because of how crowded it is. I would say it’s worth trying just for the pancakes although I wish we got more of the ube mascarpone on top.

Great ube pancakes and waygu loco moco. The crab cakes were ok, the poached eggs was overcooked but still good. Strong coffee with refills. The country fried steak was good but not spectacular. The service was great, blonde waitress was so nice and helpful.

Came here looking for an authentic Hawaiian lunch spot and were pleasantly surprised. We got there at 12 and managed to park right in front of the restaurant which was nice and got sat at a table right away. We ordered the prime rib loco moco which was absolutely delicious, the meat was flavorful and tender. We then tried the longsilog, also very tasty. I wish we could have tried some desserts as well but the generous portions had us stuffed.. overall I feel like recommending this place if you’re in Honolulu

Duke's Waikiki is a popular beachfront restaurant with a tiki vibe and lively atmosphere, located facing Waikiki's famous Canoes surf break. Named after Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing, the casual spot offers a variety of appetizers, a large salad bar, and crowd-pleasing entrees such as fish and prime rib. The venue also features memorabilia honoring Duke Kahanamoku and serves the famous Hula Pie dessert.
Had one of our favorite meals of our trip here! I had the vegan wild mushroom & spinach ravioli and my fiancé had the teriyaki sirloin. Beyond delicious for both dishes, mine was flavorful with the macadamia nut pesto and my fiancé said his steak was one of the best he’s ever had. We were seated immediately despite the busy Sunday dinner rush, and our server was super kind and quick to bring us our drinks & check in on us multiple times. Our server was also very knowledgeable on vegan food and recommended a couple places for me to try, and even knew to let me know while the desert they had was technically vegan, but it did contain honey. He talked to us about life on O’ahu and Kauai and was such an amazing server and truly made our last night such a treat. Highly recommend trying this place

Nicest place. On the beach. Great lights and live music. Took 20 minutes to the waiter to reach me for order but other then that was very nice and welcoming. I had the “prime rib staek” which was definitely corn fed and tasted like cheapest steak I have ever eaten. Look at the color in the picture it was curiously red🤨 French fries was cool but not really throughly made. Mashed potatoes was perfect and freshly made.

Come to Duke's for breakfast because it next to the beach and walking distance from my hotel but I didn't expect to be a buffet style. Food was just ok, I'm not crazy about everything except scramble eggs that freshly made, and I have to order through my server. When we got to our table, the table was dirty and my husband has to clean it himself (he should get a discount for helping the restaurant cleaning, lol.) View is good but lots of bushes blocking the view even we got a table on the deck. Maybe if I eat here in different time the food will be better.

Tasty food, but very corporate feeling. You could literally taste the corporate in every bite. IYKYK. The calimari was phenomenal, though. They definitely don't make it like that on the mainland. They're not the little rings we're used to. They were big, meaty morsels. Main entrees were underwhelming. Again, see "corporate" comments above. I'm blanking on our server's name, which is extremely unfortunate, because she was top notch. I really, really wanted to give her a shout-out here, but then vacation happened and I'm just getting around to leaving reviews now that I'm home. Brittany, maybe? I hope so, because she deserves the recognition. Beautiful ocean views, but again, the whole place feels a bit corporate for my liking. The buffet looked ok, but pretty skippable, so we opted to order off the menu instead. The hula pie was simple but delicious. If you like ice cream cake, it's 100% going to be your jam.
Matt H — Google review
We came for the hula pie and were not dissapointed. Nice cocktails too. We had eaten dinner elsewhere but they have a variety of food that looked and sounded appealing based on what others ate. Like I said we ate the hula pie. Is effectively an ice cream cake slice with chocolate fudge and whipped cream and sprinkled with nuts. Delicious is an understatement and a perfect dessert in a hot location. My wife and I shared it. It is not a one person dessert.

I'll always remember my trip to Oahu and my bday dinner at Dukes. The atmosphere was amazing.I love the decor and of course eating dinner on the beach at sunset was incredible. I had top-notch service. The server Frank was incredible and the manager. She came and checked on all of the tables and was very friendly.

Duke’s is everything you’d want in a Hawaiian dining experience! We first went for lunch and loved it so much, we came back a few days later for dinner. The Hawaiian-style casual vibe, paired with a fresh selection of fish and steak, made every meal memorable. We were seated right by the beach, and hearing the waves while enjoying dinner truly added to the island feel. The outdoor atmosphere was absolutely perfect: relaxed, breezy, and so scenic. And let’s talk about dessert… their Hula Pie is a bomb! Sweet, creamy, and the perfect way to end a beachside meal. 🌴🍽️🌊 If you’re looking for island favorites with an unbeatable view and delicious food, Duke’s is a must-visit!

Pulled Pork Nachos, Coconut Shrimp, Fish Tacos, Mai Tai, Blended POG with vodka, and Coconut Mojito were yummy! We sat at the table area close the flower stand and it was pretty hot, would be nice if they added fans to the area to circulate the air. Cyerrah K was our server, she was very nice and attentive.

Nico's Pier 38 is a popular waterfront dining spot that offers a relaxed atmosphere while serving top-notch seafood dishes with a blend of French and Hawaiian influences. The open-air setting provides breathtaking views of the harbor, creating a special dining experience. The menu highlights local flavors and ingredients, with the furikake ahi being particularly renowned. As Honolulu's premier fish restaurant, Nico's sources its fresh fish directly from the local fleet and emphasizes locally grown produce.
Had an amazing dining experience at Nico’s Pier 38! The food was absolutely delicious—especially the beef, which was incredibly tender and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality and care put into each dish. The drinks were on point too, refreshing and well-crafted. What really took it over the top was the scenery. Watching the sunset over the harbor while enjoying a great meal made the whole experience feel extra special. Whether you’re looking for a solid dinner spot or a chill place to unwind with good vibes and good views, Nico’s is definitely worth the visit.

We went there on Wednesday about 1120a. Gravel lot parking and also staggered parking stalls around. I thought this was going to be a service type of dining. This is a fancier fast food eating/dining. Only walk-in...or looks like take out, lol. There's a table with menus for food and cocktails. You order food at front desk, pay and they give you those vibrating gadgets... don't be dumb like me and give a tip because you service yourself. You find a table if you want to stay. If you want cocktails, you go to the bar and order. When gadget vibrates, go to food counter and get your plate lunch. Atmosphere is actually nice... there's also live music. I got a sweet okole cocktail...a little strong. There's free water at the food counter Fountain drink machine. I had the crab burger...not bad but i think it's can crab. My friend had the furikake mahi... she liked it. We also had the side order garlic pesto shrimp... tasty, but they used small shrimp. The fish market is adjoining, so you can buy and eat that there too. It's not bad and i would eat here again
Mary A — Google review
Good was good but I was hoping for a little more taste in the burger that was featured on diners, drive-ins and dives. It’s got a good view and I don’t really bother you if you stay for a while, which is great. I did not appreciate that The soda was not free refill. A little odd that you have to order lunch at the front, but they had table side service for dinner. As with most fish sandwiches, they often need more sauce to balance out the low-fat content of the fish. Ask for extra sauce if you’re ordering a fish sandwich.
James G — Google review
Recommended by a friend. Not bad but not great, parking can be a challenge if there for dinner and you may need to park farther away. Indoor/outdoor seating and beautiful views of the water with live music as well. The menu as a variety of offerings with lots of fresh seafood selection. A varied dessert section as well. I enjoyed my time but probably not a repeat experience

Great experience overall at Nico’s! The fresh fish was amazing and service matched. We had a party of ten and all were very pleased. I had the Miso Black Cod & my wife had the Pier 38 Double Fish Burger w/ salad and house lemon miso dressing. The Ahi appetizer was top notch!

I really enjoyed the variety of food from fish to Italian to burgers to salad and soups. Dessert menu is well with a looksie! I bought carrot cake for home and my friend got the brownie for her birthday. 🎂 The waiter was attentive, kind, and helpful. Live instrumental music was a great touch and added to the ambience. Walked around the pier after dinner. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable evening dinner +entertainment. A nice place to dress up or just be casual. Fisherman's chowder in a bread bowl was delish and got a side of veggies- carrots and green beans. Yummy! It was the perfect amount of food for me. Friend wanted seafood/fish and that's what she got-swordfish, mashed potatoes and same veggies.

Came here for dinner. Service was a little slow. But maybe because they were so busy. we ordered the calamari and truffle fries and they were very good. I had the crabcake salad. Crabcakes were just okay. But the salad and dressing were delicious. The poke nachos were very good. The place was a little loud because they had live entertainment.
Imee C — Google review
The food was very good and their poke was very fresh. You have to order at the front which we would have preferred a server coming to our table to take our order but the staff were very nice and the food was pretty quick. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable.

Il Lupino is an elegant restaurant and bar that offers a sophisticated Italian dining experience. The establishment features a refined outdoor patio and serves traditional Italian cuisine, including delectable handmade pasta and locally sourced seafood. Guests can also enjoy wine tastings and live music in the relaxing setting. Situated between Royal Hawaiian Center and Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Il Lupino is the ideal choice for those seeking a combination of excellent pasta dishes and a diverse bar selection.
We ate here twice because we thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was extremely flavourful just like Italian food is supposed to be! The truffle gnocchi was to die for! The men enjoyed their meat and said they were cooked brilliantly to their request and the charcuterie board selection was absolutely delicious! 🙌🏽 We would return in a heart beat! 👏🏽

I was scared when I saw the reviews but it was better than expected. The food was not great, but it was still good. The gluten free pizza is ok, not the best, but definitely good. They didn't have gluten free pasta as they said they faced some supply problems in recent weeks. Other gluten free options were marked (but limited). We didn't have a problem with a long wait or ignoring servers - maybe we were lucky or maybe the restaurant fixed something after recent reviews.

This place was pretty good. The staff was great first off. The view was nice from where we were sitting outside. My husband had the lamb and I had the filet. They were both pretty good however I will say that I wasn't sure if they were good enough for what they cost. I thought it was a little overpriced for the food. I've had better honestly for a little cheaper. But overall it wasn't bad. I might still go back just because the staff was so great.
Natasha S — Google review
The apps were great, wine selection is second to none (ask for full wine list they have more than the 47 bottle per glass list). My only complaint is that when they get busy they struggle with the large crowds and some times partial orders get delayed. Otherwise the quality of the food is very good.
Jeff P — Google review
Impressed with their pastas and salad. We came in twice in 7 days. Husband and I loved their salad and pasta dishes; flavorful and hot. Good to make a quick reservation on weekends.
Mei S — Google review
Review is for happy hour only... dropped by one weekday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find we could order from the happy hour menu since they have liberal hours (noon to 6:30 pm daily). It’s an upscale Italian restaurant but unfortunately the quality of the food doesn’t match the great customer service or refined ambiance. The grilled octopus was overcooked past tenderness, the gnocchi was heavy rather than soft and pillowy and the sauces were just meh. You can find better happy hours with great drinks and food elsewhere just steps away in Waikiki.
Therese H — Google review
I understand that in the past they have had questionable quality. Even the concierge at the hotel said that too after we ate there. They have a new chef. All I can say is the Bolognese was probably the best I have tasted. My wife had the catch of the day, ahi, which she liked. Our server, Julian, was fantastic. On the negative side, their food is fully priced and on some of the wines I would say are over priced. We had a great time largely because our server. Give this restaurant a try.
Gentle J — Google review
After reading some of the reviews I was a bit concerned but it was fine. Our guests were locals and we booked an outside table which also meant we could see and hear the entertainment from the stage. A nice garden setting we ordered the large charcuterie board for starters. Nice selection of cheeses and prosciutto with biscuits. We also asked for French bread which was delivered with olive oil and balsamic. For dinner I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was melt in your mouth tender. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps some tasting notes alongside the wines because my German Reisling was definitely closer to a Moselle style. Friendly and attentive service made it an enjoyable evening with good company.

The all-day breakfast at Cinnamon's is a popular spot on the Windward Coast for families to enjoy pancakes and cinnamon rolls in the morning. Live music and entertainment add to the fun for kids, while adults can enjoy coffee and delicious breakfast dishes.
First of all, simply hard to bear going to a restaurant anywhere in Hawaii. Great food, good portions and great atmosphere. The view is amazing as you're near the water. Had the eggs Benedict and it was delicious. I opted for coffee but it was perfect. Came back and had the boneless ribs...flavor was on point..dish was so good. I was starving.

The location is right by the water, making the atmosphere perfect. I recommend sitting on outside to maximize the atmosphere. Seating was very quick as we got here at 745am. It was already busy but amazing I recommend the moco loco as the main dish if you're hungry, it's the main breakfast of the Hawaiian. It's definitely recommended to only use white rice and always do the over easy eggs, this is the Hawaiian way and was also recommended by the bar tender! The fried pork were absolutely amazing, crispy and soft and not oily at all. The combination of running eggs, white rice and soy sauce with a hint of lemon citrus was the exact morning meal I needed because I was hungry! The mushroom omelette was solid. Not above nor below average omelette. Lastly we had the coffee with Kahlua and spicy rum and it was just the kick we needed to start our day.
Jonathan P — Google review
What a wonderful breakfast menu. I had the Hawaiian Omelet which has pork in it and some kind of leaves and it was so delicious. The Macadamia Nut Muffin was good but it needs more of the nuts in it. The service was great. We went early and did not have to wait for a table. The cinnamon roll has a touch of pineapple flavor in it which was different but good. We had to sample the Red Velvet Pancakes, yes they are delicious 😋

If you love pancakes then this place is a must try. Located on the ground floor of the llikai Hotel in the marina area, not far from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. No bookings taken so we put our names on the list at the door and waited around 30 minutes for our table to be called. They are a bit short staffed but the staff that are there work super-hard and are fantastic. The cornbeef hash with poached eggs is the best I’ve had - it’s one of my all time favourites! The country tots are delicious too. But it’s the pancakes that take the cake here - they are huge , thick and delicious. We had a 1/2 stack each (one buttermilk and one Guava Chiffon) but had trouble finishing it. They are really excellent and worth the visit alone! Filter coffee was great too, and is bottomless. Highly recommended!
Gustav — Google review
Overall 8.2/10, i will come back. Customer service was pretty mid, i was shown to my table and my order was taken, but nothing special. The guava juice was a 8.9/10 and the lemonade was a 7.5/10 for me, it was more on the tart side, so if you like that then get it.Our food came out extremely fast so props to the chef! Pancakes were a 9.4/10, absolutely delicious, tasted just like a cinnamon roll, but not to sweet. Very good with the butter. The omelet was a 7.5/10, pretty standard for an omelet, nothing special but still good. They had 2 musicians that sounded pretty good and some background music in between breaks. The worst part of this is the birds flying and walking around the Restaurant, which. They can only do so much about understandably. Best place for parking is lagoon beach parking lot, $2 for 2 hours. If your in the area, check this place out.

I rarely post reviews with less than 5 stars so here is why I deducted a star from here. We had a group of 7. Wait was over 40 which is understandable for a bigger group. But when we sat down it took 20 mins longer just to order then like an hour for all the food to come out. Food was warm when it arrived too not hot. =/On the bar menu it said 2 hours seating max. We were a bit stress out thinking we had to eat fast. Other than this food was delicious and so was the drinks.

Heard about this restaurant on Magnum PI. Started with the Mac nut cinnamon rolls. Gooey and scrumptious. We had the tropical stuffed French toast; Baja omelet; tradition eggs Benedict, and crab cake eggs Benedict. Everyone loved their breakfast. You can order Eggs Benedict in half portions. Smart on their part. Fruit is fresh and delicious.

Yummm our favorite breakfast in Waikiki in Honolulu. Amazing bloody marry, wonderful service and delicious pancakes. The kids loved the sprinkled pancakes with whip cream on top. Enjoyed a hot cup of coffee as well. Ocean views were just across from our table and the prices weren’t bad either. Not a lot of good breakfast spots with an ocean view and quality food and service, so was very happy to find this place.

Restaurant
Helena's Hawaiian Food is a beloved restaurant in Honolulu, serving up traditional Hawaiian dishes since 1946. The casual setting and simple menu allow the focus to be on the delicious food, including kalua pork, lomi salmon, pipikaula (quick ribs), and squid luau. This family-run gem has received accolades such as the James Beard Americas Classics award in 2000 for its authentic regional cuisine.
The food here is arguably one of the best spots you’ll eat at. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant is fun, but we were in a rush and din’t want to wait for a spot. We opted to just eat in our car. All the meats were delicious and every time we come we get the Poi to see if it agrees with us better this time. Each time we fail to find enjoyment in it, but try try again!
Frank B — Google review
Helena's is hands down one of our absolute favorite spots every time we visit Hawaii! The food is consistently amazing--comforting, flavorful, and worth every bite. We were so happy to see their recent expansion, and it makes the experience even better. The staff here are always so lovely and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. This place has become a tradition for us, and we can't imagine a trip to Hawaii without stopping by.

Excellent! Went for lunch on a Friday, it was busy but there were some seats. Parking was somewhat difficult but doable if you are able to walk 1-2 blocks. We ordered one of the menu’s that included short rib, the salmon salad, pork, side of rice + the coconut finale. We also included a fried fish that was recommended. Everything came out of the kitchen rather fast. First, the salmon salad: we liked it, but we think it was normal, we are no experts in that dish. Next, short rib: excellent. Tasty, great color, goes very good with the rice. Fried fish: juicy, cooked to perfection. Pork: tasty, also goes very well with the rice. To end lunch, we tried the coconut (“jello”). It was good, just not used to eat it with onion. Price was super reasonable as it was a good amount of food. Definitely recommend if you want a Hawaiian experience!
Alvaro M — Google review
Helena’s has been on my food wishlist for years and I finally made it on this trip for a late lunch. I can’t stop thinking about how delicious it was - easily my favourite meal I’ve ever had in Hawai’i. Enjoyed the Laulau (tender, rich, and flavourful), the butterfish collar (so fresh, light, and crispy) and poi (love how it balanced the richness of the Laulau). They brought out a plate with raw sliced onion and a lovely coconut dessert plus a small side of local salt - pro tip I learned the midway through the meal: dip the onion into the salt and eat with the food and it’s the most amazing flavour enhancer (nice salt and acidity)! Hours later my onion breath lingers land i’m trying to figure out if I can come back before my flight tomorrow to try the dry aged beef ribs. This restaurant and the staff deserve all the praise it gets. I’ll be dreaming of this meal until I can return again.
Naomi K — Google review
Food was ok but not worth the price. We ordered 5 Large orders of Short Ribs, 3 Large orders of Fried Ahi, & 3 Haupia that was suppose to feed 20 people for $200 (see pics). Maybe we assumed too much? Its up to you to decide.
Benedict M — Google review
We went for an early lunch on a Wednesday because we had read that it could get crowded. On the way, our Lyft driver gave us tips on what to order and how to eat it (don't eat everything separately - get a little bit of multiple things in each bite), which made the experience even more fun. We ordered Lomi Salmon, Short Ribs Pipikaula Style, Luau Squid, Kalua Pig & Cabbage and it came with haupia (a coconut dessert). Everything was delicious, but the ribs (oooh, the ribs!) are magical! I still think about them and it has been 7 months since we were there. If I ever have the chance to go back to Hawaii, I will definitely go back.
Kari S — Google review
Ordered take-out. A bit pricey, but the portions were large. The kalbi ribs and kalua pork were delicious. I’d definitely try it again next time dining in.

If you’re in Honolulu looking for the best authentic Hawaiian food then Helena’s is where you want to be! We tried every other “top” restaurant and Helena’s was the absolute best of all- we returned on our second to last day to eat there again. The only problem is it was so good I’m going to be craving Helena’s and we like in Oklahoma!! 10/10 recommend- do NOT miss out! Side note- I have to eat Gluten free and almost everything on their menu was naturally GF.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/5 if I could!) Sweet E’s Cafe is an absolute gem! The staff here are some of the nicest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet — friendly, quick, and so efficient. The food came out fast every single time, and everything on the menu is incredible. My family and I were visiting Oahu for a week, and we ended up coming here every single day. We ordered something different each time, and every dish was amazing. We came to Hawaii because we had multiple deaths in our family and we wanted to do something to kind of cheer up and the waitstaff definitely contributed to making this a fun trip. A Truly Sweet Experience at Sweet E's Cafe! Sweet E's Cafe is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. What truly set this place apart was how well and accommodating they were regarding food options. It was clear that they genuinely cater to your needs. We ordered the traditional breakfast and asked for an extra egg on the side. Not only was the request handled without a hitch, but the eggs were done to absolute perfection—just the right texture and temperature. Throughout our meal, the staff was wonderfully attentive. They checked on us at just the right times, making sure everything was satisfactory to our needs without being intrusive. The service felt genuine and proactive. If you're looking for a comfortable cafe with delicious food and a staff that goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect, Sweet E's Cafe is the place to go. This award-winning breakfast and brunch restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with attentive staff. The menu features hearty breakfast favorites such as Belgian waffles, cinnamon French toast, and savory Portuguese sausages. Additionally, Café Kaila serves up classic Hawaiian twists like the meatloaf loco moco.
ICONIC breakfast spot 💎 omg, YES. Café Kaila is the breakfast/brunch spot that never misses. I built my own omelet with gluten-free bread. No crumbs remained. Their homemade salsa? Addicting. My friend always gets the spinach breakfast wrap and swears by it. Heads up that there’s usually a wait because it’s so popular, but the line moves quick and it’s 100% worth it.

I stumbled upon Cafe Kaila while browsing Google Maps, and let me tell you, it was an absolute gem! I arrived a bit early, only to find it wasn’t open yet, but there was already a line of locals waiting outside. That’s when I knew I was in for something special. I ordered the veggie omelet, and oh my goodness, it was hands-down the best omelet I’ve ever had! The eggs were perfectly fluffy, and the vegetables inside were incredibly fresh and juicy, bursting with flavor in every bite. It was beyond my expectations—honestly, are Hawaiian eggs just naturally tastier? The whole experience was a delight, and I can see why locals line up for this place. Cafe Kaila is a must-visit for anyone craving an unforgettable breakfast!

I highly recommend this place — we ate breakfast here almost every day during our stay. The staff are always full of positive energy, especially Derek at the counter. The food is very good, which is the most important thing. Prices are reasonable, and if we come back to Honolulu, this will definitely still be our favorite spot for breakfast.

Super ono! Had the French Toast, which was prepared perfectly, with lots of very fresh, ripe fruit. Wife had Bogarts Acai Bowl. Also had Yuzu Smoothie which had outstanding flavor. Owner/Manager on duty was very polite and helpful handing out orders. They did it all perfectly, can't ask for any more than that!

While visiting Hawaii, I was excited to try different acai bowls. Bogart’s Cafe stood out and was probably the best acai bowl I had during my trip. I liked that it was icy like a sherbet, not watery like some others I tried. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Amazing breakfast spot really close to Diamond Head and Waikiki! So many great choices, sweet and savory. The Hawaiian Waffles are incredible - the haupia sauce is just dreamy, with fresh fruit and a perfectly crispy waffle. The ribeye loco moco is also top notch with tons of flavor.

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana is a renowned breakfast spot in Honolulu, with multiple locations across Oahu. Since 1974, this beloved eatery has been serving up traditional breakfast and brunch staples made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Founded by Jerry and Jan Fukunaga, the restaurant prides itself on offering reasonable prices and treating everyone like family (Ohana).
Today I got to try the special chef's omelet of the day, which included sliced ham pieces, onion, and green leaves that seemed like spinach with cheese and egg omelet over it. It also included a separate small cup of salsa that I got to spread over the egg omelet. The result was "WOW." It tasted great and I got to enjoy to the last bite. Moreover, the server was very helpful and friendly. Now I can see why this place is so busy. This is a gem.

Super delicious! We had the fresh fruit rainbow pancakes, pineapple pork chops, chicken strips, and Kailua pork Benedict on taro bun. Everything tasted great, and we will definitely eat there again! Servings were generous and could be shared.

The pancake was good and big in portion. The coffee can be refilled for free. But that was American style coffee which I cant drink too much. Overall it is nice!

Not sure about the hype with this breakfast chain. It reminded me of IHOP. I ordered the ribeye steak and eggs, which were cooked well, but the price was high and the overall offering felt generic. I would recommend supporting a local small business instead.

Cream Pot, located in the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel, is a charming country-style eatery known for its delectable breakfast and brunch offerings. The restaurant gained popularity for serving some of the first souffle pancakes in Honolulu, drawing both locals and visitors to savor their signature dishes. The interior exudes French country charm with elegant chandeliers, antique decor, and a cozy ambiance.
The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was delicious! I always order it when it's on a menu, and the cream pot delivered! We ordered the Lemon Soufflé Pancakes with a blueberry sauce, the pancakes were incredibly fluffy and a healthier option compared to regular pancakes due to the whipped egg whites, as the owner was kindly explaining to us. The beef stew omelette was MMMM so good omg. 😋 Plus the hash browns were crispy and a nice portion. I loved the cream pot and how friendly the owner and staff were + quick on their feet. I would definitely come back

If I could eat here every day I would. The whipped cream is delicious I want it on everything. The garden patio is adorable, the entire dining room is beautiful. I love the lacey hash browns and you cannot go wrong ordering anything on their menu.

The vibe here is just perfect. The atmosphere is so charming and the service was wonderful. The food was really good and the coffee was great. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but honestly, it's worth it for the overall experience. Highly recommended for a special breakfast or brunch!

Great experience! Very attentive servers/staff. Very cute small place. Food was sooo good. We got the classic omelet(mushrooms, caramelized onion, bacon, potato, gruyere cheese). The fresh strawberry soufflé pancakes(so fluffy and light) and the French onion soup. Probably the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. As per other reviews, yes it’s a bit pricey but that’s the reality of being in paradise. You should expect higher prices on vacation than when you’re at home🤷🏻‍♀️ They’re also organic and use only non gmo ingredients. Highly recommend this place👍🏼😁

Absolutely the most adorable place I’ve ever dined. The people here tend to you like your family and make the entire experience so enjoyable. Every dish belongs in a magazine, it’s that beautiful! All of the flavors are so delicately crafted together and make you smile with every bite. The absolute best foodie experience we had on the island!

Delicious coffee and fantastic crepes (both the vegetarian and the chicken ones). Portions weren’t huge, but everything was super tasty! Cozy atmosphere and excellent service.

It was the best breakfast experience for our 10 days trip here. Interior is so beautiful and unique, service and atmosphere are gorgeous. Food is delicious, try the fluffy pancakes, it’s a peace of cloud in you mouth. Thank you for your hospitality.

The service here shines more than the food if I'm to be honest. I've been here with friends about 4 times and every time we're always greeted with a smile. The servers are always attentive to coffee refills and water. I personally don't think the food is even close to the best I've had, but I still like this place. I had the salmon Benedict, French onion soup, and coffee. The French onion soup was just okay. I know this is hard to believe, but a commercial steak house has a better French onion soup. It wasn't bad or anything. It was just okay. The salmon benedict was also just okay. I've had better at Mom and Pop shops.

Basalt is a contemporary dining venue located in the heart of Waikiki, offering a familiar comfort-style menu featuring global cuisine with local ingredients and flavors. The open kitchen welcomes guests to experience a menu influenced by multicultural flavors, curated by Corporate Executive Chef Kelly Degala and Executive Chef Keith Steel Kong. Whether it's savory breakfast dishes or Hawaiian favorites like loco moco, Basalt offers an impressive blend of flavors for all palates.
Came to Basalt for the famous charcoal pancakes and it did not disappoint. We were seated quickly and chose to sit outside—it was cool, peaceful, and a perfect setting to start the day. I ordered the Mug and, of course, the charcoal pancakes. They came out warm, beautifully plated, topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and served with guava syrup. It looked almost too good to eat—but that first bite proved it was just as delicious as it looked. Definitely worth the hype. I also had the Maui Gold drink, which was visually stunning and tasted just as good. Later, I tried the Spa Day—less sweet, but still super refreshing. Both drinks hit the spot. Great food, great vibes, and fair prices. This is officially my new go-to breakfast spot. Loved it!

Do not sleep on Basalt. We came for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. All of the food was amazing but you have to try the charcoal pancakes. They were unlike anything we've ever had before. Fluffy, moist, and absolutely delicious.

An instant Waikiki staple. Great atmosphere to enjoy fantastic food from chef Lance Kosaka. Light music that doesn’t disturb conversation. They have a wide variety of drinks, but I suggest the mocktail “Spa Day” and spike it with Hendrick’s Gin. Nat will take good care of ya. Lance’s spin on a classic Loco Moco will hit every savory gland you have! Sharing this dish and the Charcoal pancakes are a perfect combination to satisfy your sweet needs. ☯️

I haven't written a review in so long, but OMFG my dinner was delicious. 😭 I had the salmon ochazuke and it was the best thing I've eaten in a restaurant in as long as I can remember. My husband had the ribs with guava BBQ sauce and they were delicious too, but I'll be dreaming of the ochazuke until I can return one day.

I had a great experience here with my parents who are picky eaters. My shakshouka was very tasty, and not too heavy, it was a perfect start to my day. My parents ordered the breakfast style prime rib, and were very happy with the flavors. Definitely coming back for the ambiance, and for those charcoal pancakes!

Food okay. Not outstanding just okay. Service naturally okay with an automatic 18% added option to the bill you can see why. They were limiting diners to those that were buying wine upon our visit due to staff shortages. Prices expensive as is everywhere but noodle restaurants in Honolulu. Wouldn't return to restaurant or indeed Honolulu ever again as prices everywhere for food and service are 100% higher than Australia and 200% higher than Europe.

Had Prime Rib, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their fries are great too. Wasn't crowded, mid week dinner. POG Mousse for dessert was really a topper for the gustatory evening . Momosan Waikiki is a modern ramen spot in the heart of Waikiki, offering a diverse selection of Japanese noodles, appetizers, and sakes. Unlike traditional hole-in-the-wall ramen joints, this restaurant boasts a contemporary setting and an extensive menu. Owned by renowned chef Masaharu Morimoto, it features unique dishes like Spicy Tan Tan Ramen and Tonkatsu Ramen.
The food and vibes here are fantastic. I had the spicy tan tan ramen and ribs. Both were outstanding. The tan tan has a red curry broth with just the right spice. The ribs super tender with a crunchy sweet spicy coating, it’s brilliant! The Ichiban frozen lager is perfect on a warm day with its frozen topper. The happy hour is amazing with $4 drafts!

Momosan Waikiki — A Must-Try Spot in Honolulu! The staff was amazing from start to finish, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We had a short wait 15 minutes (even though it’s a popular spot) and didn’t need a reservation, which was a nice surprise. Big shoutout to our waitress, Janzy, for the great service and energy! We tried 3 diffrent meals, Sticky Ribs, Karaage, and Tonkotsu Ramen — all absolutely delicious. Perfect balance of flavor and texture. Washed everything down with a Sake Sangria and a Yuzu Margarita, both refreshing and perfectly mixed. First meal here in Honolulu — and it definitely set the bar high. If you’re visiting, Momosan is a must-stop for a great dining experience. 🍜🍶🌺
William J — Google review
My husband and I stopped by Momosan for happy hour, hoping for a fun and refreshing break. While the happy hour menu was a bit underwhelming, it still offered a few affordable bites and drinks to enjoy. One thing that did catch my attention was the Frozen Kirin Ichiban--something I had never seen before! I was actually really excited about it... until it came out and only the foam was frozen. It was an expectation vs reality moment--I imagined a frosty slushie beer, but the frozen part was just the foam on top. Turns out, the frozen foam is designed to keep your beer nice and cold while you relax in the Hawaiian sun, so I ended up appreciating the concept even if it caught me off guard. Since the happy hour menu was limited, we ended up ordering the spring rolls and a California temaki (hand roll). Both were solid choices--fresh, flavorful, and just what we needed for a light snack. Nothing mind-blowing, but hard to go wrong with those classics. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick and attentive. As for the ambiance, it really leans into that laid-back island vibe--outdoor seating, palm trees, and umbrellas make it feel like you're enjoying drinks in paradise.

Spicy Tan Tan tasted like Thai Khao Soi not like the regular Spicy Tan Tan I'm used to; they should have named this dish something else. Added additional $2 for the spicy yuzu ball and it was still not spicy, the broth was pretty salty as well. My favorite dish was the sticky ribs, the sauce was delicious and the meat was soft and falling off of the bone. Karaage was good as well.

Food was amazing. Authentic Japanese style Ramen. Broth was fantastic. Definitely get the sticky ribs and soft shell bag sides! You won't be disappointed.

Momosan is my favorite quiet spot in Waikiki midday. It offers both a ramen lunchtime restaurant and an upscale dinner offering. The sticky ribs are so delicious, fall off the bone and they have a frozen Kirin (beer) machine, the only one in Honolulu or Waikiki. Nice garden type outside seating or inside available. Chef Morimoto (of Iron Chef fame) is the owner.

Zippy's Makiki is a Hawaiian casual dining chain that has been satisfying locals with its focus on regional cuisine since 1966. The restaurant is known for its stews, chili, and comfort-food dishes. One of the most popular entrees at Zippy's is the fried chicken plate, which features three pieces of juicy fried chicken served with two scoops of rice and macaroni salad.
Was recommended by a friend and we loved the place. Great menu of local favorites and mainland food choices. Friendly staff, and good value. A local place not so popular with tourists.
Andrew F — Google review
It’s Zippy’s, how can you go wrong. Hard to beat Hawaiian comfort food. We ate brunch here on a Sunday morning, this location has both a sit down restaurant and the fast food takeout side. The menu options are nearly endless, so everyone can find something to enjoy. Our server was outstanding, was gracious enough to take the time to walk us through many of his favorites.
Dennis P — Google review
I’ve eaten my way through white tablecloths and tasting menus more times than I can count. But when I need a break from the precious, plated, four-bite masterpieces, I come here—Zippy’s. No reservations. No dress code. Just the kind of food that fills your stomach and your soul. I crave the oxtail soup. The fried chicken is crispy, salty, perfect. I love it. I love it all. The chili, the spaghetti with garlic bread, and the chili loco moco, which is outrageously good. I’m talking about a full-on, pig-out session. The food’s always hot, always fast, and always hits the spot. Next time, I might ask for a side of loco moco gravy just to make it extra messy. 10/10.
Winston C — Google review
I highly recommend you order online or through the Zippy's app. Walking to the takeout side to order and wait for your food is exceptionally long, especially at dinner. It's much easier to order through the app and, when it's ready, grab it from the locker. Thursday night, it seemed chill, with not too many people ordering or waiting for food. However, online orders were queued in between the person in front of me and my own. I counted eight other online or app orders before I finally got my food. It was very frustrating. As for the food, Zippy's is a local staple that has been around for generations. There are many classics on their menu, and I got two of them: a Zip Pac, but I replaced the teri beef with hoki. I also got an apple napple for dessert.

We will see you again Liza…and thanks again for making feel like regulars…like everyone knew our name. 👍🏻❤️🙏

Note that there is a sit-down restaurant side and a fast food/bakery side. We ate at the sit-down side. We really enjoyed the food. We had many other recommended dishes at restaurants that were supposed to be great but many of them were frankly worse than Zippy’s. The fried chicken and the chili cheese fries are great. The baked goods were a bit too sweet for us. The zip pac was good.

Joe's Grill Express is a great restaurant with delicious food. The chicken katsu lunch and roasted pork with gravy are especially popular. There is not much seating, so it may be difficult to get a table during busy times.
Truly excellent food at this small hidden hideaway spot, lots of options from breakfast to lunch, from local food to regular American cuisine to Mexican food. The staff was unairingly polite, they do have a bathroom at the back in the kitchen, just ask. They also give you a free water cup and ice. The prices have recently gone up but they are still quite a bargain. The vibes here are amazing. As a plus it's extremely close to where you leave the airport. Stop by! It's worth the stop and there is plenty of parking in the small shopping center

Today I stopped by to try out their late breakfast and I ordered 2 eggs and spam and rice plate and "WOW" they gave a good quantity. The service was great also, so friendly and helpful.

Waffle and Berry is a delightful breakfast spot nestled in the heart of Waikiki, located in the lower level of Waikiki Shopping Plaza. This family-owned eatery offers an array of mouthwatering waffle creations infused with berries and refreshing açai bowls. The counter-service café allows patrons to craft their own waffle masterpieces or indulge in the overflowing fruity smorgasbord known as Kireina Hana.
I have so many great things to say about this place. This was definitely my favorite breakfast spot in Oahu! We came here multiple times in the week that we were here. The staff was all very friendly and attentive, quick to clear our plates when we were finished and bring to go cups or whatever was needed. Despite the place being pretty busy our food and drinks came out very fast. Not only did it come out fast but it also tasted great! I highly recommend their acai bowls and my favorite was the Aussie in paradise waffle! I really enjoyed the location and vibe of this place. It was different than most places and I loved it!! Great options and very comfortable seating. Will definitely be back when I return to the island. This place lived up to the hype for sure!

One morning, I decided to try this place for breakfast. I was intrigued by its high rating, and they also have a pretty good selection of different waffle variations — which I personally love for breakfast. Overall, everything was okay, but nothing that really stood out or left a strong impression. I really liked the girl who took my order — she was very pleasant, gave suggestions, and asked clarifying questions. The service was excellent, truly top-level. I also had a place to sit, though the café was very busy, which shows how popular it is. That, of course, speaks to the quality of the food. The waffles themselves were tasty, and the portion was quite large. The only thing was that I felt there weren’t enough berries, especially for such a big portion of two waffles. I would have liked a bit more fruit, particularly since I skipped the ice cream and whipped cream but still paid the full price. It would have been logical if they had added more berries in that case. Still, it’s fine. Overall, I was satisfied, and I would come back here again for breakfast.

⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Waffle & Berry – A Sweet Little Gem! As soon as you walk in, the sweet smell just pulls you in—it smells amazing! The restaurant is simple, clean, and so inviting. We both ordered waffles: I went for the mixed berry with strawberries and blueberries, and my husband had the chocolate chip banana. Both were absolutely divine! The waffles were fresh, perfectly crisp, and topped with delicious ice cream. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and I can’t forget to mention the lemonade—hands down the best lemonade I’ve ever had. 🍋 Highly recommend stopping by Waffle & Berry for a sweet treat and great vibes!

On our last day in Hawaii, my nephew and I stopped by Waffles and Berry for breakfast — a spot that already had a strong reputation online and definitely lived up to it. The place was bustling when we arrived, but service was quick and well-organized. You place your order at the counter and then choose your own table. Luckily, we found one just as another group was leaving, so the timing worked out perfectly. My nephew who absolutely loves pancakes and waffles, went for the Berries and Cream Waffle — and it did not disappoint. What arrived at our table was a towering masterpiece: fluffy waffles layered with fresh fruit, a generous helping of ice cream, and clouds of whipped cream, topped again with more fruit. He gave it a 9 out of 10 and said he wished he could get something like it back home. I ordered the Açaí bowl with a waffle on the side, and it looked as good as it tasted. The server kindly walked me over to the topping station, where I could add honey, coconut flakes, granola, and other extras to make it my own. It was refreshing, flavorful, and filling — the perfect breakfast to end our trip. Both of us had apple juice to drink, which came out quickly, and the rest of the food followed not long after. The portions were very generous, the presentation was great, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, even during the morning rush. Overall, Waffles and Berry is a fantastic breakfast stop in Waikīkī — cozy, efficient, and full of good vibes. Between the amazing food, friendly service, and wide range of drink options (coffee, mojitos, frozen drinks, juices), it’s easy to see why this place has such a high rating. Definitely worth visiting, especially if you love waffles as much as my nephew does.

We were looking for a place with waffles and a separate place with acai bowls, and then luckily this gem showed up. We visited twice and had a great meal each time. The second time we learned that we were able to substitute açai for ice cream in case you don’t want to have ice cream for breakfast. Both styles were fantastic and sometimes you do need to have ice cream for breakfast. Got to have a great conversation with the owner Cal. Such a humble guy and he took the time to have a nice conversation with my boys. 💯 recommend this place for breakfast/dessert/snack. Great açaí and toppings. The boys said this needs to be a tradition if we’re back in Honolulu.

Wow… Waffle & Berry blew us away! 🤩 We had the Aloha Chocolate and the Chocolate Chip Banana, and while both were amazing, the Aloha Chocolate was on a whole different level—out of this world good! The waffles were fluffy, the toppings were delicious, and every bite was pure heaven. Honestly, 5 stars doesn’t even feel like enough for this place. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in—this is a MUST-visit!

Very welcoming and attentive staff. The açai bowl was delicious. There’s a topping bar where you can add chia, cacao, coconut, granola, and honey to your bowl. The portion is very generous and the fruit was fresh. Ordered a side of plain waffle for $2 and topped it off with a drizzle of honey. This will be my new favourite for açai bowls!

Located on the Royal Hawaiian avenue side of Waikiki shopping plaza, Waffle and Berry is a must stop for Breakfast and Brunch. Greeted with friendly smiles as soon as we walked in and they help explain all the options to choose from. Once you get to the Waikiki shopping plaza, take the stairs or elevator down to the lower floor and you will see it right at the bottom of the stairs. Finally got chance to stop by and check it out. Ordered the acai bowl and the Aussie in Paradise waffles. Acai bowl came with generous portions of frozen acai blend with fresh fruits. Then they have their own toppings bar where you can add coconut shavings, chia seeds, granola, honey, etc. The Aussie in Paradise came with Nutella, strawberries, and banana with Nutella, whipped cream and couple scoops of ice cream. Both were delicious and I highly recommend trying both. Parking is limited to street parking or paid parking garage. Bathroom is located in the Waikiki shopping plaza.

The marketplace has a rich history dating back to the 1980s when it was built to revitalize the commerce in Chinatown. Today, it stands as a vibrant commercial district with traditional businesses coexisting alongside art galleries and studios.
Nice market that faces a pedestrian street in Chinatown. This Chinatown is bustling and lively, with the local community still there shopping for fresh vegetables, medicine and of course the stores selling Chinatown goodies. Visited weekend before Lunar New Year and was a nice experience 🧧

Good shopping experience there. There are vendors I am particularly loyal to for their good attitudes, service, and price. I recommend Lee fruits stall that is hidden in between the ships near the street and the food court.

Nice place to shop for tropical fruits and vegies. There are good Asian restaurants. It also has an outdoor place for you to sit down relax and listen to live music performed by to old musician.

I am so pleased to see this area making a comeback. The pandemic nearly wiped this place out. Throughout Chinatown, I noticed many more shops open compared to two years ago. Whether it's fresh fish or fresh vegetables, Maunakea Marketplace and Chinatown are the place to go. I also noticed a few artists throughout the area capturing the vibrant culture of the area.

It was a good stop. However they need more restrooms and security to keep the homeless under control. Food was good, lots of lunchtime options with little to no wait.

Great variety of tropical fruits, and the food court offers plenty of Asian options. We had such a fun time sampling new dishes! We were so full!

Only food court in Chinatown. Local recommended the roast duck. Egg noodle made in nearby shop. Fruits, veges and fish just like in the other buildings.

Cooke Street Market is a hidden gem located in a nondescript strip mall, offering stellar food and drinks. The menu features delicious options like the Spicy Garlic Ahi Bowl and Kyoto Ginger drink, as well as the best poke bowl and acai bowl in town. The ice cream is described as the best ever with spot-on flavors and perfect consistency. Additionally, the staff is known for being accommodating to dietary restrictions, making it a great choice for those with specific food allergies.
Inside is very inviting. Pretty chill. Workers are very patient and kind. Super friendly too. Food is AMAZING. Get the Habanero Dynamite. Not too spicy and full of flavor. I get it with salmon. It's super fresh and filling.

I just buy smoothies here...they are good, nothing stood out as amazing...alittle pricey. Service is good, nothing bad happen. The place has alot of space but limited seating. If they brought more tables and chairs, I feel more people are willing to hangout, study or relax here...but tables and chairs are limited and always filled.

I came to try the strawberry matcha after seeing everyone post about it. It’s beautiful drink and my husband enjoyed it. They get a 9.5/10 for iced latte, it was the perfect mix of sweet and bitter. Just how I like my lattes. Super cute environment, I definitely plan on coming back to grab a drink and hangout on my laptop.

I'm so happy that the girl taking my order recommended the Spicy Garlic Ahi Bowl..... FOR REAL THE BEST POKE BOWL I'VE EVER HAD! Obviously if you don't like garlic this is not the best option for you. But I love garlic and this reminds me of a ramen bowl, and has so much flavor of Japan (including cucumber which I usually don't like but hit the spot as far as contrast in flavor). I'm heading back again today to try something different. I'll post the photos.

Friendly staff and clean place with nice tables. The juices taste so good! The food is very good as well! We’ll be back to try more menu items.

Disappointed with their Strawberry Matcha after hearing so many good things about it. The worst I've had on Oahu.

We just happened to walk past this place looking for somewhere to kill time before the breweries in the area opened. It’s very nondescript in a strip mall, but the food and drinks are stellar. We ordered a Kyoto Ginger drink that was so delicious and refreshing. My friend said her acai bowl was the best she’s had. Everyone was very happy with their choices except for the green juice (but that’s what you get for ordering something healthy).

The Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort is a vibrant beachfront property offering colorful rooms and a range of amenities. Families can enjoy the Helumoa Playground with its impressive water slide, fountains, and tropical landscaping, as well as the kid camp's educational activities. Meanwhile, adults can relax at the infinity pool with panoramic views of Waikiki Beach. With 1,636 rooms and ongoing renovations to modernize its offerings, this resort is a popular choice for visitors to Oahu.
Loved our stay at the Sheraton Waikiki! We would definitely stay here again. The location is unbeatable — just steps from the beach and surrounded by great shops and restaurants. There’s always something to do around the resort, and cabs are conveniently waiting right outside if you need to go anywhere. The hotel has two beautiful pools, including one with an amazing ocean view. Overall, a perfect place to stay in Waikiki!

🐚This is the review you’re looking for if you’re planning a trip to Honolulu. We’re a young Filipino couple, and this was our first time in Hawaii. The view from our room was unbelievable — we were lucky to get a high ocean-view room, and we could even see sea turtles swimming right from our balcony. It honestly made the trip feel magical. The front desk was so sweet and even surprised my husband with a small birthday gift, which really meant a lot. But as much as we loved the view, a few moments made us feel a little out of place. At the adult pool, we were looked at differently because we didn’t have our wristbands yet, and later at the activities desk, we were met with someone who clearly didn’t want to help us. It was awkward enough that we just walked away. Still, the view and location are hard to beat — right by the water, close to everything, and easy to get picked up for tours. I’d recommend it about 60%, mostly for the ocean view and location. I just wish every guest, especially those like us who don’t always stay at fancy hotels, were treated with the same warmth as the welcome we first received. 🌺

My husband & I stayed here from September 23 to September 28th for our honeymoon. We loved it! We booked an Infinity Oceanfront Room floors 20-27. I did not realize this until right now as I am writing this review, but I wonder if we were upgraded as our room was on the 30th floor. The view was UNBELIEVABLE & did not seem real! We had a perfect view of Diamond Head. You could not see sunset from the room though. When we checked into the room, the front desk gave us both leis and a box of crackers & jams, which I thought was nice. Here are my other thoughts on the resort: PROS: - the view - there is an infinity pool that is adults only & close to the pool bar - it's right across from the Royal Hawaiian Center, which is a large outdoor mall with a food court, restaurants & shops - checkout was easy - you get bracelets to use a the room key - getting an uber was never an issue - it was right by a parking garage where we were picked up for a couple excursions (snorkling with Hanauma Bay Snorkeling Adventures & pickup for Kualoa Ranch) CONS: - while there are several elevators (possibly 8 but i don't remember the exact amount), it seemed like only a few were actually working. & some of the ones that were working, made noises which made me feel like they weren't that safe - I'm not sure if it was the position of the TV, but we had trouble using the TV remote - the patio door to our laini was hard to open & close - there was no communication to us that there is a water dispenser & ice machine on each floor & not on the main level I would 10000% stay here again if i wanted to stay in Waikiki the next time I am in Hawaii. Thanks, Sheraton, for helping make our honeymoon so amazing & beautiful!

"Partial ocean view" room was not worth the extra cost over other room options. 90% of the view was a roof, backs of buildings and a parking deck. I would've rather had city view. We did try to switch rooms a few days into our trip, but they didn't have availability. Great overall resort location in relation to Waikiki beach and downtown. Elevators were quick. Parking deck was crowded as they allow public and hotel guest parking here. $55/day for hotel parking. Be aware of daily resort fees added to final bill. Ours worked out to about $100/day added on the original hotel cost. There are 2 coffee shops, but the one outside the front lobby was better. Great coffees, smoothies and smoothie bowls. Also have baked goods. RumFire restaurant was nothing special. Location was nice, ocean view. Food and drinks 3/5. As a couple traveling without our kids on this trip, the option of the adults only infinity pool right on the ocean side was so nice! Beautiful sunset views from anywhere on the ocean side of hotel. Service was good. All staff were very nice. Room was clean. We would stay here again, but wouldn't pick "partial ocean view" (forgot to take a photo).

Good Hotel. Ideal location and good amenities right there and around. The elevators are little "merry-go-round"! You'll see when you get there. But other than that good hotel. Great gym with pots of good equipment avaliable and latest cardio machine.

Great location. Oceanfront, 2 pools, jacuzzi, and close to restaurants and shops. Room is updated modern, clean. We had an ocean view from the 9th floor. Would be nice if they had a breakfast option but there are plenty of places within walking distance.

This hotel is clean and updated. The staff is kind cheerful and accommodating. The location is key. If you are not familiar with the location please take a moment to do so.High end stores and outlet malls are either there or a very short walk. The rooms are a little pricey but good value for money.

ATMOSPHERE: The single tower is so big & imposing upon entry. This is a very busy hotel and full of Japanese tourists. The lobby is modern despite the look of the building. There's a convenient and free "electronics area" complete with charging stations and counter space for laptops adjacent to the front desk. There are several shops, including a Cookie Corner (a popular little Hawaii bakery usually found in malls), and a pretty popular restaurant that turns into a nightclub called Rum Fire. The lobby level elevator bank can be a hectic, subway-like experience. CHECK IN/OUT: A friend we were with checked us in so I can't review that experience. We did the checkout on the TV which was a good thing because the lobby was jam packed on that particular Sunday morning. ROOM: Actually it was a suite, #1702 to be exact. It's the furthest room from the central elevator bank but so worth the walk! The single, no frills door opens up to a huge living & dining room with a big, over-sized daybed, 6 seat dining table, couches, flat TV, mini refrigerator, bar and private balcony that literally hangs over the sand of Waikiki Beach and overlooks the Halekulani Hotel, Pacific Ocean, and a sliver of a city view. Private because there are no balconies on either side as it's located at the corner of the building. We saw an awesome sunset, the sounds of the surf, and listened to the free Hawaiian music that came from the Halekulani next door in the afternoon. The single bedroom has 2 comfortable double beds, and a balcony with a drop dead gorgeous view of Diamond Head, the ocean, and hotel infinity pool. The dual air conditioners worked really well. Everything was very clean. The TV in the bedroom wasn't working but got fixed the next day. No big deal as there was another one in the living room. BATHROOM: There are 2 sinks, closet, and all the usual amenities. The toilet & shower/tub are separated from the rest of the bathroom which was convenient for the 3 of us. The shower water pressure was weak but tolerable and the drain was quick. Housekeeping didn't skimp on restocking the amenities the next day which was nice. POOL: While we didn't utilize it, it sure looked swanky from our balcony. It's a small, tiled infinity pool with a few lounge chairs in the water that overlooks the Pacific. BEACH: It's pretty non-existent but walk a short way east towards the Royal Hawaiian and you'll be on sandy Waikiki Beach. SERVICE: The only person I came into contact with was the male parking garage attendant who was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Very nice place to stay and conveniently located near the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and the middle of Waikiki.

Itchy Butt is a no-frills Korean fried chicken spot that offers a choice of Korean or garlic sauce for their crispy chicken. The portions are generous and shareable, with options like the Garlic Chicken Bowl and savory fried cheese sticks. While some found the garlic flavor lacking, others enjoyed the slight sweetness of the garlic chicken. The location may not be in a typical tourist spot, but it's worth returning for the flavorful food.
Great name so I stopped by to grab a t-shirt! Had to wait in line behind a number of people ordering food - that tells me the food must be good! They were super friendly & showed me the different colors available. It's a tiny place with a walk-up to-go window. Menu covers the windows - pictures, description, & prices clearly visible. Small parking lot, but street parking available. Maybe next time I'll grab a bite to eat!

Ordered whole chicken (half Korean, half spicy), came with two Passion Orange drinks and one pickled radish. Fed me and bf for three meals Korean was very sweet and sticky, not too spicy - less spicy than Hot Cheetos tbh. Spicy was a little spicy, but probably not spicy enough for someone who enjoys super spicy food. MESSY! Lots of sauce!!! Love it Fried very well, very crispy outer skin. Very satisfying when craving fried chicken. 4.5, would be 5 stars if it had more spicy!
Marisol A — Google review
I bought half a garlic chicken for $22. The chicken had no flavor inside, but the skin had flavor because of the sauce. Not crispy, like yesterday's leftovers. Won't come back.
Lili X — Google review
Small hole in the wall with yummy chicken. Order the whole chicken half Korean and half Garlic. The Ajumma who took our order was so nice and double bag our order and took time to tie and cute handle. We left and had to puncture the bag to let it vent so the fried chicken won’t get soggy 😂 the garlic chicken still had some crunch when we got to our hotel
Yen H — Google review
Takeout only, chicken was nice and crispy. Portions are decent. Prices are around $15-20 for a bowl and drink. Location is not near the beach.
E T — Google review
Funny thing, it was the name that drew me here. As unorthodox as it is, it’s a solid place to get some chicken. We had the half garlic chicken and an order of the cheese sticks. The chicken is best eaten after you pour the sauce over it. So delicious. The wonton wrapped cheese sticks are really good too. Along with that, the t-shirts are cool. Downsides are a lack of parking. The parking lot can be tricky to navigate given the size and location. There is street parking that’s occasionally open. Also, when you place an order they don’t give you a number or take your name. When your order is ready they call out what you ordered and hopefully no one else waiting ordered the same thing. All in all would recommend trying.
Jakob Z — Google review
The name catches your attention and the food keeps you coming back. Good size portions, very shareable of your not starving. We tried the Garlic Chicken Bowl and fried cheese sticks. Garlic Chicken has a slight sweetness to it, almost like a honey garlic. Not spicy at all. The bowls came with rice and a drink. I ordered a spicy sauce on the side. We also had Cheese sticks, they are savoury and come with 6 sticks. Location is not your typical tourist spot but it wouldn’t stop me from coming back. Little parking out front. No dine in or washrooms. Everything was so delicious and plentiful! Drive to Ala Mona Park to eat your food by the ocean with a view.
Ashlee S — Google review
Our family had very mixed reviews. Two loved it and two wouldn't return. The bowl for $14 including a canned drink provided enough food to completely satisfy two adults. I would order extra garlic for the garlic chicken. There was a nice bed of rice that soaked up the sauce from the garlic chicken. The ones who didn't like it found the garlic was lacking. Although, I wanted more garlic I still enjoyed it. It's a tiny window where you order and we easily found meter parking on the road nearby. Place is a bit grungy, so if you want new, fresh, clean, it's not the right place for you. Also, had a constant stream of people picking up orders. Prices are higher than what is shown on other posts. Still great value!

Home Bar & Grill is a vibrant sports bar and grill in Waikiki that offers contemporary American and Asian pub grub, along with a variety of beers. It's a family-friendly spot until the evening when it transforms into a lively nightlife scene. The food is highly recommended, especially the poke and smoked meat that pair well with drinks. The pork chop and parmesan fries are also favorites among visitors. The portions are generous, served family-style, making it great for sharing.
This was our first time visit to Home Bar & Grill, we had heard about the food and fun place. We got the Negitoro, truffle fries, tater tot nachos, Kalbi noodles. Home salad. All good, we definitely will go back again. Make sure you go to the back door and have the valet Park your car. It's worth it.

Nice hang out place for local people. Anyone under 21 can visit til 830pm. Happy til 830 1 off hard and 50 cents off beer. Food is really good. Poke is to die for, smoked meat goes well with your drink. Pork chop is on point and my friend seems to love the parmesan fries with the crispy pepperoni. Take your time when drinking and eating. They do NOT water down their drinks. So definitely want to pace your self. Workers are very aware of those who had too much to drink. Place is nicely lit.

If you're looking for a delightful stop during your Hawaiian adventure, The Happy Hawaiian Cafe is a must-visit. Nestled within a cozy food hall, this charming spot offers an inviting atmosphere with ample seating to escape the heat or rain. The service is both friendly and attentive, ensuring you feel valued even when they’re busy. Perfect for breakfast before hitting the beach, their menu features delicious options like classic breakfast plates, waffle combos, and tasty musubi.
This is a great little place set inside a small food hall, with lots of tables and coverage in case it’s hot or rainy. The service was fast and friendly, they are a small operation so you have to be a little patient, but they’re very attentive and try to manage the weight without ignoring customers. I was definitely impressed that multiple times they try to give us an update on they would be with us and Made us feel like we’re being ignored. And once we ordered, the food was done fairly quickly. Our food was prepared, exactly how we requested it, and one of my traveling partners doesn’t eat pork, so she was thrilled that there was very tasty turkey bacon (not pictured) The food options were fairly wide for a breakfast place. I felt proportion sizes were actually fairly good for the amount you pay, especially in Hawaii. The fact that this is LGBTQ+ owned is a bonus. A couple of notes: since the staff and space is relatively small, they essentially work on one or two groups of orders at a time, so just be patient. We are visiting for six days, and we are sad that our last morning is Tuesday, and they are closed on Tuesdays. However, we will be back as much as we can. Highly recommended is the Hawaiian Roll French Toast breakfast.

First time here. Good options on the menu. Had the omelette, came with 2 pancakes. The guy checking us out was nice. You pick your own table to sit at. Food didn't take long to come out. Absolutely worth taking a minute to find the entrance, the staff were lovely and the food was fantastic. Good portions, good food, and a completely reasonable price. Kalo Hawaiian Food by Chai's is a delightful gem nestled in Waikiki, where the essence of traditional Hawaiian cuisine meets an upscale dining experience. Chef Chai Chaowasaree has crafted a menu that showcases authentic dishes like ahi limu poke and kalua pig, alongside local favorites such as Kahuku corn chowder and pineapple curry with jumbo tiger prawns. The restaurant boasts a classy atmosphere with outdoor seating, making it perfect for enjoying meals al fresco.
I got the Loco Moco, my girlfriend got the thick cut poached pear French Toast. Everything there was fresh and delicious. Food did take a bit to come out but when it did you could tell that it was all made fresh and was well worth the wait. The atmosphere there was very chilled/relaxed and had good music playing too. All around a great place to enjoy great food!

When I saw there was a restaurant in my hotel, I was looking forward to the convenience. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to find this gem. I went there every day for breakfast or dinner (sometimes both). Everything I tried was amazing but what made the experience memorable was the friendly atmosphere created by the staff. Led by Ezekiel, with assists from Lawrence and the rest of the team, they made me feel like this was my home away from home.

This place was alright. It’s a cute little restaurant on the corner in Waikiki. I had the Kalua pork omelette and my partner had the Hawaiian breakfast. I wish the $20 omelette I ordered was bigger, I could’ve eaten two of them! And my potatoes weren’t anything special. My partner said his fried rice was too hard. Despite the mediocre food, the service was great. Our food server was friendly and attentive to our needs. We probably won’t be coming back though.

Back in Dec we stayed at the Courtyard and we were able to get credit toward eating at Kalo’s and at the bar inside the hotel that also served food from Kalo’s. The credit gave us an opportunity to eat a different small dish or two every day from either location. Staff recognized us soon after but were very nice even from the beginning. Local Style Fries and the Chicken Long Rice were our favorite items of all the small dishes $20 and under that we tried. The Local Style Fries is only available from the bar.
B Y — Google review
We ordered take out here... our tour driver recommended Kalo as very authentic Hawaiian. The 4 items we ordered cost ovoer $90... it was not worth it. Especially what was ordered was 3 appetizer and 1 meal. The Short Rib Pipikaula $26 is really, but note it is only an appetizer. The short ribs had a lot of flavor, but as short ribs go, they can be a bit chewy. The Laulau $15 is suppose to be fish and Kalua Pork wrapped in Ti Leaves. This is a tasty dish...the pork is tender... I did not see any fish when I unwrapped it. The Hawaiian Style BBQ Chicken $36. Think more like grilled chicken brushed with a sweet glaze and topped with tropical fruit salsa. The chicken is bit on the dry side. The coconut-ginger rice is really good. Good ginger flavor...really mild ginger. The winner tonight is the Garlic Noodles with Scallions $9. Noodles used were more of a siamin type. Really rich garlicky flavor.

Excellent spot for good hawaiian dishes. We made reservations months in advance, but when we finally went there were plenty of open tables, so no need to worry about reserving in advance, IMO. It is on the pricier end, however. Our recommendations: Kalua pork, Hawaiian style BBQ chicken, Beef stew. The location makes it easy for walking from nearly every main hotel in Waikiki. The bathroom is a bit of walk, as you have to go to the hotel lobby for it.

Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott which this restaurant is next to. Had breakfast here and it was so good I went back for dinner that night and breakfast again the next day. The service is very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can sit outside. For breakfast I had the açaí bowl and it was delicious. It’s on the sweet side with fresh fruit and granola. In the center of the plate are two scoops of cold açaí - think sorbet. It was wonderful. I liked this so much I had it again the next morning. For dinner I ate with coworkers and we did family style. Everything we had was amazing. Highly recommend the prawns and sea bass. The flavors were wonderful and fresh. This was a very nice surprise. I’d eat here again.

Nestled in a no-frills strip mall, Karen's Kitchen is your go-to spot for Hawaiian comfort food that warms the soul. This charming eatery serves up generous portions of daily specials and classic plate lunches, like their famous loco moco, which is known for its hearty size and delicious flavors. I am usually too lazy to consistently post photos and reviews, but I had to do one for Karen’s. It’s Hurricane Lane Thursday, and walked into Karen’s while waiting for my car at Lex Brodis. First thing I saw was the specials which included, Corned Beef Cabbage!!!! Omfg I’ve been wanting this for months! But, they also got mushroom Chicken too!!!! The corned beef is just as you would hope it would be. Salty, soft, and juicy. I didn’t eat the mushroom chicken yet, but I’m getting a plate to eat during the storm. Mahalo, Karen!

Ordered the corned beef hash breakfast plate. Corned beef tasted and felt like it had been sitting on the griddle for half an hour. Dry, dessicated, and tasted like stale oil. Was pretty surprised when my food came out in what seemed like two minutes, but it's no surprise now... Coworker said his turkey plate was okay, nothing special.
Trevor M — Google review
Reasonable prices, courtese service, good variety of delicious food. We had miso chicken, &Fried rice& 2 eggs over easy. I rate 5 star & recommend for everyone.

Restaurant
The Pineapple Room is a semi-upscale restaurant located on the third floor of Macy's, offering a taste of Hawaiian specialties by the renowned chef Alan Wong. Tucked away in the back of Nordstrom at the Ala Moana shopping center, this hidden gem provides a unique take on local cuisine in an elegant dining setting. Despite its somewhat elusive location, it's definitely worth seeking out for an exceptional dining experience.
Alan Wong knows his flavors. If you're in the mood for something upscale but couldn't get reservations at the primary location this is a great alternative. Get some shopping done while you're at it or park on the 3rd level and skip the mall all together.

I won a gift certificate and was eager to try the place. I've heard raves about this place so I had high expectations. The food was okay; the service was great. I asked for my steak to be medium well; it came to the table bleeding. I was pleasantly surprised by the offer of a complimentary dessert to rectify my sending the steak back. Overall, it was a pleasant evening.

Aloha. Don't come here for a succulent meal or attentive service. We ordered the waiter-recommended menu items, waters, and a martini. The pork was bland, the salads stale and oddly warm...heat lamp much? The drink was good, but it's hard to mess up alcohol. Servers seemed bothered to help and couldn't seem to find any water. Not worth the hype.
Richard K — Google review
I had a bad experience at this restaurant. I ordered one caesar salad and one Loco-Moco. The salad came soon and it was fine. But… the Loco-Moco… where did the Loco-Moco go? 60 minutes later my one Loco-Moco arrived. Maybe it was good but after waiting almost an hour I didn’t enjoy it. I know they were understaffed, but an hour for a Loco-Moco is ridiculous. If they told me it would take a long time when I ordered it I would’ve felt much better. So, be ready to wait for your food.

We didn't have a car, we walked to 747 Kapahulu Ave to discover a little non-decrypt shop tucked away at the back of a parking lot. We sat and had 2 terrific tray of Poke on rice and could not have been more satisfied and delighted. We could have eaten there more!
Walter S — Google review
Mediocre at best. Food was unimpressive. Service was worse. We had to ask 4 times before they filled our water glasses. Our salads were served warm as they sat under the heat lamp waiting on our server. Server had no knowledge of the menu.
Lee M — Google review
The waitress was lovely, asked for a Pinot Grigio and she was only able to serve Chardonnay or Sav Blanc at lunch by the glass! Sampled the SB and it was dreadful! The food was ok. Fairly slow service.
Jackie P — Google review
This place was not good. Service was mediocre and our group of 12 thought the food was terrible - average at best. For the prices I would NOT recommend. Disappointed and will not be going back.

Food was really good and great price. Service was very fast and they answered any questions you had. I had the bacon cheese burger one day and the cheese steak the next. I also had the croissant for breakfast. All the food was good. Can’t wait to go back.

Proper name is HI Shack and they’re phenomenal. Great prices, great food and service. The breakfast wraps and sandwich de lomo are to die for! Prices are $9-15 for most meals.

A hidden gem! This little restaurant has a food truck feel down Lemon Road, with several seating options outside. The food was DELICIOUS. I was surprised by how good the cheesesteak was. Staff were friendly and the service was fast. If you're looking for something quiet and off the beaten path with delicious food, stop by Sunshine Cafe. Highly recommend!

A great option if you don't want to do a sit down restaurant! We got the cheesesteak, birria quesadilla, and they we're nice enough to make my daughter a pancake. It was all delicious!! Great customer service, great food at a great price!
Miranda M — Google review
I ordered mix drink - honeydew and strawberry but it seemed that they just change every order to lemonade and strawberry without telling customers. What I drank was definitely not honeydew
Jinsol C — Google review
The food is absolutely terrible. Undercooked on the Loco Moco and the tacos are basically cheese microwaved in a tortilla shell. And you get harassed by junkies as you wait for your food. If I could rate this lower, I would. Total garbage.

Verde Kaimuki Honolulu is a laid-back cafe where you can bring your own drinks and enjoy Mexican staples like burritos and tacos all day long. The restaurant offers counter service, allowing customers to customize their orders with a variety of fillings and meats. Customers particularly enjoy the flavorful Barbacoa, chicken, and al pastor options. The fried shells are also highly recommended. While the salsas could be spicier, they still add a nice kick to the dishes.
Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Reasonable prices, fast service, no complaints. You might try their homemade guava bars as a sweet treat to top off your meal. If I'm ever lucky enough to visit Hawaii again, I will definitely be going back.
Courtney P — Google review
The restaurant had a more energetic feel when it was BC Burrito. Verde basically has the same menu, slightly less quality, slightly higher prices. Wider selection of foods, but nothing that really interested me to try. Their spinach tortillas are great for the burritos tho!
Torin ( — Google review
The fried shells are a real treat. The Barbacoa is my favorite by far. The chicken and al pastor are also regular picks. Personally I haven’t tried the breakfast taco, but I’m told it’s very good. Can’t really go wrong with chorizo and eggs I guess. The salsas could be spicier, don’t take the warnings too seriously. Two tacos make a good size lunch or dinner. A burrito is a big meal. They also make a mean horchata and I love that they have cold filter coffee. That I’ll usually order after I’ve eaten and take it to go.

This place is da bomb! Kitchen sink burrito is a must, one burrito fed my wife myself and our two children with some leftovers. Check it out you will not be disappointed.

Hawaiian Style Chili Company is a food stall that offers a delightful array of Hawaiian-inspired dishes. The name pays homage to the mamo, an extinct bird whose yellow feathers were once used in the attire of Hawaiian royalty. The company's founders aimed for a regal name to reflect their commitment to quality.
Amazing food stall with delicious food and friendly staff!

Just know that its not first come first served here. Be aware that people can go on the side and talk to Dayne's son and then walk away and then come back and go straight to the front and put their order in. The workers won't say anything even if they watched you sit there even before they opened. If Esther or Dayne have questions they know who i am and i'll say the same thing to their face.

Da Kāne’s Kitchen is a delightful hidden gem nestled in a cozy courtyard, perfect for those seeking a tasty meal away from the hustle and bustle. This charming spot features just a few small tables, making it ideal for intimate lunches or takeout. Locals rave about their mouthwatering BLT and flavorful pastrami sandwiches served on soft Hawaiian bread.
A FUN FIND :) Hidden in a small business courtyard (covered patio area) is this little place with delicious food. Just a few small tables, so it can't accommodate a large group (unless you're taking out). Our group of 4 really enjoyed the quiet lunch and the kind people. Fantastic BLT on Hawaiian bread and a flavorful pastrami on Hawaiian bread. YUMMY YUMMY! [Park in the garage and follow the signs]

Countryside Cafe is a charming spot known for its mouthwatering Local Moke-O, particularly the Corned Beef Hash version. The homemade corned beef, flavorful gravy, and perfectly cooked eggs make it a standout dish. Visitors rave about the delicious breakfast options like Country Fried Steak and Kalua Pig Eggs Benedict. Despite its small size, this cafe offers excellent service and delectable food at reasonable prices.
Countryside Cafe is probably the best place I've eaten for breakfast. Food taste great, service is excellent, and pretty good for the price. It's a small place but it's okay. Everything we ordered was delicious! We had the Country Fried Steak, Kalua Pig Eggs Benedict, and the Trio of Banana Foster French Toast, Lilikoi Pancakes, and Strawberry Waffles.
