1Bar Leather Apron

Cocktail bar
Bar Leather Apron is a sophisticated and intimate speakeasy-style bar located on the second floor of a nondescript financial services building in downtown Hawaii. The bar has a swanky ambiance with dim lighting and specializes in whiskey and creative cocktails. With only six seats at the bar and a few additional tables, reservations are recommended to enjoy bespoke cocktails made with high-quality liquors and ingredients.
We struggled to get into the bar because we didn’t realize we had to go inside the building and walk a bit. The security guard helped us get to the right place. I highly recommend making a reservation because then you can sit at the bar and talk to the knowledgeable bartenders. We were able to sit in the lounge which was beautiful with solid wood tables and leather couches. Everything was mind-blowingly delicious with complex flavors. Any of the cocktails are a good choice. I loved all the new flavor profiles I got to try!
Kara S — Google review
An absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end. The service is impeccable and the ambience was cozy and intimate. The servers and bartenders were personable enough that nothing came across as pretentious. All of the cocktails had a high degree of execution and had complex, satisfying tastes. Justin was thorough in his explanations of each cocktail and his showmanship was refined. I can’t wait to come back, even if it means fighting for a reservation again. The low reviews are a combination of baffling and funny. None of their smoked cocktails came across as overwhelming, and if these cocktails are what you consider gimmicky then you’re better off sticking with plain old fashioneds and Moscow mules at your favorite corner bar. I’m confused as to how so many people saw a classy cocktail bar and thought that it would be an appropriate place to swing by for a quick pregame. There is one bartender making all of the cocktails, and each cocktail is a show unto itself. This place is about relaxing and enjoying the experience. It took 30 minutes for us to get our first cocktails…you ain’t finishing a drink in 20 minutes lol

ok… YOU 👏🏽 HAVE 👏🏽 TO 👏🏽 GO 👏🏽 IF 👏🏽 YOU 👏🏽 CAN! Bar Leather Apron is a James Beard Award–winning cocktail bar in Honolulu that 100% lives up to the hype! Every drink here is an experience. They’re balanced, creative, and always delicious 🍸They have a 2 cocktail minimum, but trust me, you’ll want more. The bartenders are not only friendly but also super knowledgeable. They display the elements of your drink in front of you and then walk you through the flavors, so it feels both fun and educational. The space is cozy and intimate, but know that reservations are tough to get! (they recently switched from Resy to OpenTable, so keep an eye out or you might get lucky with a walk-in). I’ve never had a bad cocktail here. Definitely worth it! 🥃
Diana K — Google review
This was an amazing experience. The drinks are top notch. Give yourself some extra time to find the place but it's worth it. Service is amazing as are their drinks.
Jonathan S — Google review
Amazing drinks and hospitality. We had the espresso martini (their unique take on it), el umami, and yuzu sour. Wife loved the espresso martini and I enjoyed both of mine. Yuzu sour was really refreshing and really nice flavor or hojicha with the yuzu. Lots of cocktails to choose from. Our server explained the drinks really well and made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable.
Dhaval D — Google review
The best lounge in Honolulu. The atmosphere is super great. All drink serving with tobacco is unique and tasty. The most amazing part is the final dessert.
Kaiyu Z — Google review
What an unforgettable experience. The best curated cocktails, service, and even the food are all top notch. A hidden gem you should not miss!

An Unforgettable Cocktail Experience at Bar Leather Apron From the moment my wife and I stepped into Bar Leather Apron, we knew we were in for something special. Finding the entrance was a bit of an adventure, as the bar is tucked inside an office building, but the security staff was incredibly helpful in pointing us in the right direction. Once inside, we were warmly welcomed and seated by the hostess, setting the tone for an exceptional evening. Justin, one of the owners, was behind the bar crafting some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. Watching him work was an experience in itself—his precision, passion, and knowledge of mixology made every drink a story worth savoring. The awards lining the walls make perfect sense the moment you take your first sip. We knew Bar Leather Apron focused on cocktails rather than full entrees, but the appetizers alone were enough to satisfy. The pizza butter and charcuterie board were not only delicious but surprisingly filling. As for the drinks, every single one was a masterpiece. I had the El Umami and a Suntory whiskey flight, while Amanda enjoyed Flowers for You and The Rocking Chair—each offering flavors unlike anything we’ve ever tasted. Beyond the drinks, what made the night truly special was the atmosphere and service. Justin’s enthusiasm and expertise shone through in every cocktail he crafted, and it was clear that he takes immense pride in his work. The entire experience was flawless—intimate, engaging, and unforgettable. If you’re in Oahu and love expertly crafted cocktails, Bar Leather Apron is an absolute must. We’ll definitely be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pint and Jigger is an eclectic gastropub located in the Alamoana Hotel, offering innovative bar food and a beer garden. The owner, Dave Newman, has created unique drinks like the Talventi, featuring whisky, Campari, cold-brew coffee, and house vanilla cream. The bar excels in both classic cocktails and original creations such as a thyme-infused Aperol and sherry Negroni riff.
We recently celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary with a delightful dinner at Pint and Jigger. The service was impeccable, and the cocktails were truly exceptional. The espresso martini and the Whistle Pig Old Fashioned were both showstoppers. While we didn't mention the occasion to the staff, their attentive service added a special touch to our evening.
Erick S — Google review
I’ve been to Pint and Jigger multiple times and it’s always been great. Just recently I had the bone marrow appetizer and it was delicious. The staff is always friendly and the whiskey selection is phenomenal. Highly recommend!
Hugh S — Google review
What a gem! Enjoyed a diverse and reasonably priced flight of 0.5 oz pours of 2 Japanese whiskies and 2 scotches. Service was excellent and gave great recommendations. Went early while fewer customers were around and it filled up pretty quickly. Definitely will return for more tastings and food, too!
Ben R — Google review
I stopped by this place in the hotel where I was staying at night alone. I asked the server for the beer and chose Maui Brewing Bikini Blonde. And I ordered Pork Tenderloin. Pork Tenderloin had good ingredients and tasted good. The beer was light and easy to drink. There were various people inside the Pint, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the conversation. The servers were all pleasant and comfortable.
Nami N — Google review
Totally amazed at the variety of whiskies with custom barrel picks that brought thunder. All of our food was terrific as was the service. This recent visit has only cemented as a must-go place especially since they moved to an easier location in Ala Moana shopping center.
Kuri C — Google review
We loved this place. Me and my friend stopped in before our 50's function that was taking place there at the Ala Moana hotel in the hibiscus ballroom. Are bartenders names were Dave and Max. Great guys! Fantastic drinks. My friend had an Old Fashion and I had an Expresso Martini. We enjoyed their company so much that we are going back very soon for a function being held at the Pint and Jigger - also a 50's themed party. We loved the atmosphere and our next time we will explore the menu.
The L — Google review
The menu is unique and everything is tasty. The staff checked on us frequently and have great recommendations. This is different from a typical hotel bar and much better. There are great areas for small groups and large parties as well as individuals who want to sit at the bar. The atmosphere is great and you can avoid the noise by sitting in the side room by the shuffleboard table and picnic benches.
Ron C — Google review
While just trying to have a night cap we stumbled across this wonderful hotel bar / restaurant. We were staying at the Ala Moana Hotel and never expected this nice surprise ! Wonderful kind of old west fancy decor, huge walls of booze options with a focus on Old Fashioned’s that I love, and the pupu’s were amazing ! Music was great too. Highly would recommend this bar whether you’re staying at the hotel or not. The fried pickles were awesome !!

Bar
The Tchin Tchin! Bar is a cozy hangout spot with wood and brick accents, offering a wide selection of wines, cocktails, and small plates with global influences. Whether you prefer the indoor ambiance with brick walls and leather couches or the refreshing outdoor patio adorned with ferns, this bar provides a comfortable setting for wine and cocktail enthusiasts. The name "Tchin Tchin" originates from the Chinese expression "qing, qing," often used as a toast in Europe.
Awesome Rooftop/Upstairs bar. The vibe and ambiance were great, really liked that part of the place. Good beer selection, no draft beers, but good canned selection and nice cocktail menu. Only had the oysters, they were too big/meaty for my taste.
Michael F — Google review
It was so so. The Tchin gin cocktail was really good, the shrimp with the house cocktail sauce decent and I had a tequila shot for $5 on taco Tuesday. There was no one else besides me in the bar area. I had expected more for 3 jumbo shrimps and a couple of drinks for $40
Neha T — Google review
Everyone was SO nice in here. It wasn’t too busy… just a few people at the bar and a completely open patio (that is so cute by the way). We sat on the patio and ordered some snacks. Food was amazing. Would get both the fries and hamachi crudo again which had popping flavors. The oyster shooters were my favorite though. 3 oysters with mezcal bloody mary shots. Like does it get better than that?!
Jenny Z — Google review
We’ve been twice and the drinks were fine both times, but the state of cleanliness in and around the bar was concerning. The biggest concern was seeing a bottle of WD40 on the same shelf as glasses and beverages BOTH times we visited - as someone that has worked in the food industry, if this is what they allow to be seen in public as a blatant health code violation, it’s worrisome what exists out of site. Additionally, there were maintenance things in the bathrooms and around the bar that have seemed to be neglected and overall just give the impression that that management does not actually care about cleanliness, presentation, nor health code.
Nicole D — Google review
Great drinks and atmosphere. The bartenders were so welcoming and attentive. A little pricey, but it is China town. Parking a couple a blocks away, but too easy. Come early about 4pm to beat the crowd or just get a reservation. Nice cheese platter, oysters, and shrimp for snacking with a good whiskey or champagne. Great for date night!!
D. D — Google review
Amazing ambiance, but it’s like they were paid to ignore me. Didn’t try the food so I can’t knock it. Wish I was savage enough not to tip.
Lauren — Google review
Great cocktail bar with an inside and an outdoor open rooftop area. Excellent drinks menu, perfectly crafted cocktails, and great service. Full food menu available too. Same owner as Livestock Tavern next door.
Gustav — Google review
We stepped into Tchin Tchin at 1145pm. Last call. The atmosphere was laid back and we could easily hold a conversation with our friends. They were nice enough to take us in. The drinks Idylls of the King, Gold Bug, Last of the Mohicans and Duvel were all good. Look forward to coming earlier.

Mai Tai Bar is a vibrant beachfront spot located at the Royal Hawaiian, offering an array of umbrella cocktails, appetizers, and live music. It's a festive and slick setting where you can enjoy the tropical vibes just steps away from the sand. The bar provides a perfect opportunity to savor fruity drinks while soaking in the stunning sunset views over the ocean.
What a beautiful outdoor restaurant located within the Royal Hawaiian hotel, right in front of the beach. This was where the first Mai Tai was created, so I had to order one! The food and service overall were fantastic, and the setting is unbelievable. We couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough. We had a great experience. If you are in the area, go here!
A R — Google review
The Mai Tais here are the best in town! Superbly mixed and really strong. One time for the trip is never enough so we came back again. Ask the servers for food recommendations. It really goes well with the drinks. Gets crowded almost all times of the day.
Samuel L — Google review
This place is hopping at night! There are great views, friendly staff, and everything is lit up and decorated pink. The drinks were delicious and there’s service bar food options were fun. We enjoyed listening to the music and taking in the views.
K — Google review
Great drinks, one each was enough to start us getting tipsy. Amazing truffle fries! And a beautiful view of the beach with a glimpse of Luau happening on the side. Perfect start to your Hawaiian holiday! 🌺
Shruti N — Google review
This place was awesome! Some of the best drinks and desserts on the islands. We went here multiple times during our honeymoon it was so fun to order fries and drinks while sitting on the beach. The service was the best in town
Princess D — Google review
If you're looking for the original Mai Tai, you've found it here. We arrived just as they were opening at 11. Our server didn't come to the table for a good 15 minutes, actually after one of us went to the bar to order our drinks. The drinks were excellent. The views are stellar.
Larry H — Google review
The Royal Hawaiian's Mai Tai bar could use a shake up. The mai tai drink we received was not strong and way too sweet, the menu I thought was bland, and the general seating/vibes setup boring. For a namesake of the famous drink and a mainstay for the hotel, this bar should be more remarkable. 3/5.
Jeremy Y — Google review
Great brows of the water and an endless breeze make this patio bar ideal to relax and catch great views. Kui, our bartender made great drinks and conversation. The cocktails are what to be expected in a high end hotel ( starting at $20.00) but you just can't beat the atmosphere. If you can't find a seat at the bar there are covered tables.

Duke's Waikiki is a popular beachfront restaurant with a tiki vibe and lively atmosphere, located facing Waikiki's famous Canoes surf break. Named after Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing, the casual spot offers a variety of appetizers, a large salad bar, and crowd-pleasing entrees such as fish and prime rib. The venue also features memorabilia honoring Duke Kahanamoku and serves the famous Hula Pie dessert.
Had one of our favorite meals of our trip here! I had the vegan wild mushroom & spinach ravioli and my fiancé had the teriyaki sirloin. Beyond delicious for both dishes, mine was flavorful with the macadamia nut pesto and my fiancé said his steak was one of the best he’s ever had. We were seated immediately despite the busy Sunday dinner rush, and our server was super kind and quick to bring us our drinks & check in on us multiple times. Our server was also very knowledgeable on vegan food and recommended a couple places for me to try, and even knew to let me know while the desert they had was technically vegan, but it did contain honey. He talked to us about life on O’ahu and Kauai and was such an amazing server and truly made our last night such a treat. Highly recommend trying this place
Annie H — Google review
Nicest place. On the beach. Great lights and live music. Took 20 minutes to the waiter to reach me for order but other then that was very nice and welcoming. I had the “prime rib staek” which was definitely corn fed and tasted like cheapest steak I have ever eaten. Look at the color in the picture it was curiously red🤨 French fries was cool but not really throughly made. Mashed potatoes was perfect and freshly made.
Yosef G — Google review
Come to Duke's for breakfast because it next to the beach and walking distance from my hotel but I didn't expect to be a buffet style. Food was just ok, I'm not crazy about everything except scramble eggs that freshly made, and I have to order through my server. When we got to our table, the table was dirty and my husband has to clean it himself (he should get a discount for helping the restaurant cleaning, lol.) View is good but lots of bushes blocking the view even we got a table on the deck. Maybe if I eat here in different time the food will be better.
Melissa N — Google review
Tasty food, but very corporate feeling. You could literally taste the corporate in every bite. IYKYK. The calimari was phenomenal, though. They definitely don't make it like that on the mainland. They're not the little rings we're used to. They were big, meaty morsels. Main entrees were underwhelming. Again, see "corporate" comments above. I'm blanking on our server's name, which is extremely unfortunate, because she was top notch. I really, really wanted to give her a shout-out here, but then vacation happened and I'm just getting around to leaving reviews now that I'm home. Brittany, maybe? I hope so, because she deserves the recognition. Beautiful ocean views, but again, the whole place feels a bit corporate for my liking. The buffet looked ok, but pretty skippable, so we opted to order off the menu instead. The hula pie was simple but delicious. If you like ice cream cake, it's 100% going to be your jam.
Matt H — Google review
We came for the hula pie and were not dissapointed. Nice cocktails too. We had eaten dinner elsewhere but they have a variety of food that looked and sounded appealing based on what others ate. Like I said we ate the hula pie. Is effectively an ice cream cake slice with chocolate fudge and whipped cream and sprinkled with nuts. Delicious is an understatement and a perfect dessert in a hot location. My wife and I shared it. It is not a one person dessert.
Theo T — Google review
I'll always remember my trip to Oahu and my bday dinner at Dukes. The atmosphere was amazing.I love the decor and of course eating dinner on the beach at sunset was incredible. I had top-notch service. The server Frank was incredible and the manager. She came and checked on all of the tables and was very friendly.
Lorraine K — Google review
Duke’s is everything you’d want in a Hawaiian dining experience! We first went for lunch and loved it so much, we came back a few days later for dinner. The Hawaiian-style casual vibe, paired with a fresh selection of fish and steak, made every meal memorable. We were seated right by the beach, and hearing the waves while enjoying dinner truly added to the island feel. The outdoor atmosphere was absolutely perfect: relaxed, breezy, and so scenic. And let’s talk about dessert… their Hula Pie is a bomb! Sweet, creamy, and the perfect way to end a beachside meal. 🌴🍽️🌊 If you’re looking for island favorites with an unbeatable view and delicious food, Duke’s is a must-visit!

Pulled Pork Nachos, Coconut Shrimp, Fish Tacos, Mai Tai, Blended POG with vodka, and Coconut Mojito were yummy! We sat at the table area close the flower stand and it was pretty hot, would be nice if they added fans to the area to circulate the air. Cyerrah K was our server, she was very nice and attentive.

La Mariana Sailing Club is a legendary tiki bar located at the end of Sand Island Access Road in Honolulu. It offers a retro tiki decor and a Hawaiian menu, making visitors feel like they've stepped into an old Hawaii that no longer exists. The bar boasts furniture and decor from now-closed tiki legends, creating an authentic atmosphere.
A hidden gem, and the last authentic Tiki Bar left on Oahu. Food is nothing fancy, but reasonably priced "bar food" compared to the rest of the Waikiki/Honolulu area. Drinks were good, service was fine, great atmosphere!
TJ M — Google review
Keep driving. Do not go to this restaurant. I'm legitimately baffled by the 4.4 stars here. Wanted this place to be great. Service is terrible. I'll admit we had a large party. However, the restaurant was not busy at all. The server came to us and took a drink order. The drinks showed up 35 minutes later. The waitress came and took my empty glass after one drink and never asked if I wanted anything else. I drank water, which ended up being the best part of the meal. Food all came out an hour and a half later, which was cold. The steak has zero seasoning and was less than 1/2 inch thick. The server literally slammed my daughter's plate down on the table in front of her after she was unable to take the plate from her fast enough. There's zero vibe, no hospitality, no air conditioning, and no reason to ever return.
Jordan C — Google review
Classic-style Tiki bar here in Honolulu, but not a good value. Two different bartenders served me two different "Ship Wrecked" cocktails that were not even close to being the same except both very watered down. The Kalua Pork Nachos were cold and dry. The only thing good for me was Onion Rings and the decor. Both bartenders were more interested in chatting with locals than service for the rest of us. No air conditioning..so hot inside. Yet people will pack this because of its legend. Not a good value. Can be difficult to find. Free parking.

This is a unique place to eat or have drinks… the atmosphere is amazing. However, I would suggest to just have drinks. The food was okay but you can find much better food on Oahu for a lot cheaper. I had the poke and was not impressed. My husband has the ahi spring rolls and said they were okay. The bartender was great.. Very professional and we lived the atmosphere and vibe.

Great food, service, and drinks. Here for a visit and a colleague recommended the place. He said the zombie had fairly earned it's reputation. I had the Mahi burger with onion rings, a blue Hawaiian, and a zombie. Excellent all around.

Nostalgia tiki bar like the one we used to see around the island many years ago, hidden away on sandisland which I never bother to check out living here. History of the place is interesting, drinks are sweet and tropical, food was not bad, service was great and really enjoyed talking to staff. Can't say it'll be place I'd hang out but definitely worth a visit. Try to hit the sunset hour.

Awesome spot…food not that great. Went for a work outing and got the fish tacos. Wasn’t very flavorful and kinda overpriced for two tacos. The location was great and a very neat and nice atmosphere. Not sure if I would return outside of work.

Love this place! Very cozy and charming. Great location and views. Food is good and you get larger portions for less cost than most restaurants around the area. The story behind the founding and legacy to keep open are something I appreciate and support.

Perched atop a 19-story building in the heart of Waikiki, SKY Waikiki Raw & Bar is a popular open-air lounge offering stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu skyline. This rooftop destination combines a bar, restaurant, and nightclub experience, providing an array of refreshing drinks, seafood dishes, and upscale entertainment.
Sky Waikiki is such a fun experience! The rooftop bar’s live music and friendly service are eclipsed only by the amazing views of Kalakaua Avenue and Waikiki Beach. We got a table on the edge with great views and ordered cocktails and appetizers. Did not try any of the raw menu items, but maybe next time! Highly recommend this fun little spot.

Was ok. Nothing wow about it. When i went to pay. The machine "froze" so that i could not take away the automated 25%tip. I would have gladly tiped that even though i would like to get the option to not do so. And frankly..they did not deserve that tip. The drinks were ok and the food was 🤷‍♀️ The view is not the best bcz of all the hotels blocking the view. You dont get to see much of a sunset sadly 😓 but hey check it out! The view we got was pretty nice considering 😊

Terrible place. There was an item in the Menu named seafood plate. It said it is for four people but it was maybe only for two. Two poke bowls in it were poke cups not bowls. At the end of pur time, we saw two giant cockroaches. I told the waiter and he was like yea we have cockroaches in Hawaii like it is normal to charge people 120 for seafood platter and let cockroaches play with their food. And then he was like we are closing in three minutes and I will give you a discount on your food. I kind of felt insulted because my experience was ruined with cockroaches giving me a discount is not going to change that. And he was not even sorry like its my fault I am not used to cockroaches in food. PLEASE DO NOT NORMALIZE COCKROACHES . BTW, the seafood platter had lobster in it on the menu but when they brought it it did not have the lobster. **update: the manager contacted me and apologized. He also refunded the full amount of our order which was incomplete. I believe this shows respect and fairness. Thank you!

I didn’t really like this place. The whole atmosphere felt off and not clean at all. It’s nothing like what you see on their website. The tables and floor looked dirty, and the place just didn’t give that nice rooftop vibe people talk about. I ordered a cocktail and it was nothing special, kind of watery, but it cost twenty bucks. That’s way too much for what you get. We came around nine at night, like 8:55, and the bartender told us the kitchen was already closed. Later we found out that wasn’t true because we sat there for almost an hour and saw servers bringing food to other tables. That was really annoying and felt dishonest. Then when we went over to the bar area, a security guy came up and said we had to go downstairs to get some wristbands, but then we saw him handing them out to other people for free. It made no sense at all. The whole situation was confusing and awkward. For such an expensive place, I expected way better service and cleaner space. I wouldn’t go back.

Gorgeous views from this rooftop bar. Damien was our server and he was so amazing and made sure we had everything we needed during our time (even a leopard print umbrella for the sun!!) and brought the good vibes. Thank you Damien for making us so happy during happy hour haha!! Will definitely be back to this stunning place.

I honestly don’t understand what the bad reviews are about. This place is a gem! The service was excellent, and the drinks were great. If you come right before 5pm you can enjoy the happy hour menu and see the sunset. Highly recommended!

Cocktail bar
Bar
Lewers Lounge, located within the Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu, offers an upscale and sophisticated setting for indulging in craft cocktails and high-end snacks. The ambiance exudes a classic elegance with its dark wood interior, retro loveseats, and dim lighting. This jazz lounge is the ideal spot for enjoying live music while sipping on expertly crafted cocktails such as the Chocolate Dreams and Lost Passion.
Overall 9.5/10 Lowers Lounge consistently delivers one of the best cocktail experience in Hawaii, bar none. Location: 9/10 Located in the heart of Waikiki, Hale Kulani is easily accessible with friendly valet service. It's also a short walk from the entrance. Ambiance: 10/10 It doesn't get better than this. A quiet, elegant live Jazz bar, gorgeous decor and perfect lighting. The smoky vocals are only matched in smoothness by the smoke rings cocktail. Seating: 8.5/10 With bar, table, booth and chair seating, Lewers Lounge offers a nice, comfortable environment. Unfortunately not all seats give a view of the live jazz, but a majority do. Make sure to either show up early if you want good seats. The music starts at 830pm, but doors open at 7. Drinks: 9/10 $24 for a premium, artisan crafted cocktail in Waikiki is a steal! In a town where bottle beer costs between $8 and $16, these drinks are an amazing value. The Smoke Rings drink is a solid entry if you enjoy an old fashioned. It wasn't the best smoke infused cocktail I've had, but it was very good. My wife's The Very Thought of You is their take on an espresso martini. She didn't like the squeeze of lemon they finish it off with, while I love it. Other than that, it was another strong effort. We've never had a bad drink here. Food: N/A Since they only offer light food options, we usually go to dinner after our drinks. The free mixed nuts they offer, however, are warm and slightly toasted. They are fantastic!

Drinks were great. Sorry to say that the pianist was really killing the vibe for me…piano playing was great and song selection was on point, but the singing made it tough to enjoy. For such a cool spot on a Sunday night, I hope they re-evaluate the entertainment.
Chelsea M — Google review
The wife was hungry but we don’t like the hustle and bustle (and prices) of most places on the strip. This place is an oasis in a storm that’s Waikiki. The musician was killing it too. Drinks are nice foods good and price isn’t that terrible for what you truly get - some peace in a quiet harbor in an otherwise loud and tumultuous storm.
Kelvin M — Google review
Our first time at the venue was unforgettable, thanks to the two phenomenal jazz players on stage. The bass player was an absolute virtuoso and the pianist/alto singer was simply amazing. Her voice soared with emotion, weaving seamlessly between heartfelt .
Lisa S — Google review
This was my first time here. Definitely an old-school piano bar atmosphere. However, the service was a bit slow for my tastes. The server didn't check in with us enough -on more than one occasion I had to flag someone down -the pupas were just regular for me. For the same price, there are better food options around the city. My concern is the inconsistency. There was a lovely production with the pouring and presenting the first glass of wine. However, when you order a subsequent glass, you don't see them pour it from the bottle. And I noticed right away that after the first sips that it was a different wine from the first wine I had, despite being told that it indeed came from the same bottle. That might work with people whose palate is not as sensitive as mine but I know that was a different wine. That first glass was lovely though! Typically my friend and I like to order a bottle of wine however, this didn't appear to be an option at this establishment. Only glasses were offered. And the price was $2 different on my recipe per glass than on the menu. Best things for me were the musicians and the ambience.
Bridget D — Google review
What a wonderful little spot to grab a snack and a night cap. The woman singing had a deliciously velvety voice and I just really enjoyed the overall energy of the place. The cocktails are wonderful, too!
Casey N — Google review
Perception of this place really depends on personal preference. There were many great aspects of this place and others that left me disappointed. 1. The atmosphere - very cool classic cocktail piano lounge. I'd rate the atmosphere in the top 5% of piano lounges I've been to. 2. The cocktails - simple and classic. If you order an old fashioned, negroni, sazarac, etc that's exactly what you'll get. I personal enjoy more creative reimagined variations of classics so I was somewhat disappointed. The drinks were good, don't get me wrong, but not unique or special. 3. The price - $18 for a cocktail in Hawaii is a very good price. Other lounges are much more expensive so I found the price point to be a positive. 4. The music - the night I went was a gentleman playing solo piano. It was pleasant but lacked the energy of a jazz lounge. I've been to other lounges where the musician is playing solo to a backing track and it does make for a better entertainment experience. 5. The food - overpriced and not good. Just don't bother getting food here. 6. The service - friendly but slow and not attentive. It'd be difficult getting a buzz with the pace of the service.
Jeremy T — Google review
We love the lounge for many reasons, but mostly for listening to Maggie and/or Rocky when they are performing. The haupia cake and cocktails are great, but apparently you can’t get the cake after ten. The dress code is much more relaxed except that you still can’t wear nice sandals. This seems strange in that several patrons were in jeans and sneakers, which seems far worse than wearing designer sandals with a buttoned shirt and slacks.

Tiki bar
Restaurant
Skull & Crown Trading Co. is a unique tiki bar located in Honolulu's historic Chinatown, offering a dark and eerie aesthetic that sets it apart from traditional tiki bars. The decor includes floral wallpaper, fishing buoys, Polynesian idols, human skulls, and shrunken heads in glass jars. The signature cocktail, The Skull & Crown, features a blend of rums and tropical juices served with special effects like thunder sounds and flickering lights.
Where do I even start with this spot! I’ve been wanting to get to Skull and Crown for ages and finally did! The decor and atmosphere is everything you could ask for in a modern tiki establishment. The cocktails were the best I’ve ever had in my entire existence on this earth. The menu complimented their cocktail perfectly. Highly recommend! I know I’ll be back for sure.
Statler W — Google review
What a find!!!! Not often do you stumble upon a place that when you walk into it, you mouth sort of hits the floor. I wasn’t expecting the decor, vibe, drinks, staff, to be excellent. The drinks were delicious, the music was right, and the decor is carefully selected. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. It’s a tiki vibe but doesn’t give you Disney or Pier One. Some of the pieces look and are artifacts. I will admit, it’s a little on the spendy side. The cocktails are all about $20+ but well worth it if you’re looking for a good vibe with craft cocktails and food.
Christopher V — Google review
It’s worth the wait and a little extra $. The atmosphere, service, cocktail craftsmanship were all 5/5. The tiki vibe is very well done, kitschy, yes, but it has to be. All adornments are high end. The cocktails were well balanced while being alcohol forward as requested. We sat inside but the outside is quite nice. Expect you could get a little wet with a passing shower. All servers were friendly and knowledgeable. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. We didn’t go there for the food but the lettuce wraps with pork and coconut rice on the side were excellent.
Peter R — Google review
Ive been to many bars in my life, especially ones which specialize in bespoke cocktails. This bar was one of the best. This tiki bar had some of the coolest artifacts I've ever seen. The bartender, Mike, was really attentive, recommended drinks that matched our tastes and his presentation was excellent. The Skull and Crown was a good starter, but i was blown away by their Crystal Skull, Old Fashioned and Bird of Paradise. Also, the food options were also good too, I would recommend their Lucky Lantern Chicken and Ube Tres Leches. Skull and Crown should be on top of everyone's list.
Lloyd D — Google review
I love anything tiki and this one nails it! Great food, even better drinks, and the nicest staff. Small, cozy, and perfect for our Halloween night, everyone was dressed up and the vibe was spot on. Can’t wait to come back!
Marc M — Google review
Such a fun tiki bar!! a speakeasy feel with delicious drinks (keep in mind they’re almost all rum based) with cool effects that feel like you’re transported to a different place. Food was also delicious and a tad on the spicy side as an FYI for those who are sensitive to spicy. Lettuce wraps are a must! The swizzlers were a favorite at the table. Hope they’re able to keep this place as wonderfully cozy as it is now! Service was a little slow for food which we didn’t mind since we had delicious drinks but keep in mind if you’re hungry.
Marianna O — Google review
Don’t come to Skull & Crown if your goal is to get sloppy drunk on tiki drinks. Not because it can’t happen, trust me, the pours are generous, but because that’s not the point. In a city where every corner shoves a happy hour Mai Tai in your face (spoiler: those aren’t Mai Tais), Skull & Crown offers something different and memorable. If you want the snob’s Mai Tai -- the kind reverse-engineered from Trader Vic’s original blueprint and balanced like a tightrope walk, you drink it here. My husband and his best friend are amateur mixologists with a copy of the Smuggler’s Cove cocktail book dog-eared and stained with every flavor of simple syrup known to man. The redacted Dagger Mai Tai on their menu (you'll know it when you see it) was developed with Smuggler's Cove. When you start making your own syrups, buying obscure spices no one keeps in their pantry, learning what "balanced" actually means in a glass, you stop seeing cocktails as alcohol delivery systems and start tasting them like cuisine. Listen, I still love a trashy happy hour with bottom-shelf booze, but Skull & Crown reminded me why it's called a CRAFT cocktail. If Olive Garden is the fanciest restaurant you've ever been to and suddenly you have some money to spend, you have to experience fine dining just for the sake of it. This is that equivalent. However, I'm just a stranger on the internet, so, do whatever you want. I'm not your mother. That said, the cocktails are only half the story. What makes this place a hidden gem isn't just feeling like you're in the live action Scooby Doo movie, but the staff. Our host, Christopher, helped us shift a late-night reservation when we dropped by early after the Bishop Museum. Tina, our server, was stellar: attentive, honest, and sharp as a blade. She suggested we spike the Ube-Bae (listed as a mocktail) with a splash of rum, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it became the best drink I’ve ever had: a boozy "milkshake" made of purple dreams. I’m now on a personal mission to recreate it at home. It's going terribly. Tina also suggested my second drink, the Pua 'Ula'Ula, based on what I liked: once again, spot on. She knows her stuff. My one regret is not getting the bartender or kitchen staff's name. The food was great, too. Shrimp ceviche and squid skewers, if memory serves. We ordered mostly to avoid the spinning-room sensation after round two, but it was good, better than it needed to be. Do not skip dessert. Get the ube tres leches (you'll thank me!!) My husband tried the Dagger Mai Tai, King Ko Swizzle, and the Clarified Zombie. We wanted to keep going, believe me, but we’re in our thirties now. There's a fine line between revelry and ruin. Before we left, we picked up a bottle of their Traders Club Kila rum, partnered with Ko Hana (the local distillery) and a souvenir glass by a local artist. Skull & Crown is serious about drinks, serious about detail, and fully leans into the tiki camp with an intimate, local touch.
Lidiya G — Google review
What. An. Awesome. Place. Our group made reservations and had an amazing meal here. We were brought here with the promises of good tiki drinks and they absolutely delivered on that. We figured we'd have dinner here, but I ended up ordering almost one of everything. What an incredible meal! Everything was incredibly flavorful, well made, and somewhat complex in the flavor composition. I only regret is that we didn't have bigger stomachs to order more food. Ceviche, lettuce wraps, nachos, noodles, Ahi... We just went on and on with our ordering and eating. Highly recommended.

Arnold's Beach Bar is a Hawaiian tiki bar located off Saratoga Road in Honolulu, offering a laid-back island decor, classic drinks at reasonable prices, live music, and a beachy vibe. This Tiki hideaway provides an escape with its tropical drinks, games, snacks and frequent live music. The bar's concept emerged during the Great Depression in California as an escapist environment that fit perfectly with what people were looking for during that time.
Cool small bars to get some drinks with live music. It was a great closing to our day. The service is good and everyone is friendly. It is an open space so you can enjoy the weather, with or without shadow.

Finding a tiki bar like this in Waikiki was such a pleasant surprise! Arnold’s Beach Bar is warm, friendly, and has a truly local vibe. The cocktails are strong and the prices are very reasonable. The Mai Tai was especially amazing! The live music adds a great touch to the atmosphere. It’s not touristy — it feels real and genuine. If you’re in Waikiki and looking for a chill place to grab a drink and enjoy yourself, this spot is a must. Oh, and the popcorn is legendary!

A great tiki bar. Reasonably priced tucked away down an alley. The staff is friendly and drinks are great. It’s not fancy but not what I would call a dive bar. They have free popcorn and some food options (I think). Go for the Mai Tais, excellent beer and a good variety of cocktails made with with Aloha.
Peter R — Google review
Many reviews consider Arnold’s Beach Bar a drive bar, however I think this is far from the truth. Although smaller than most other bars, Arnold’s makes up for in character. The pours are strong and the drinks are excellent. The best priced drinks in Waikīkī. You’d be foolish not to stop by for one for seven drinks.

Hana Koa Brewing Co. is a brewpub and restaurant located in the Kakaako district of Honolulu, Hawaii. The brewery offers a dozen unique craft beers on tap, with quirky names and interesting ingredients that push the boundaries of traditional brewing. The owners, a young couple passionate about beer and brewing, have created a diverse lineup of beers with tropical inspiration such as Beach Bum, Chill Vibes Only, and Feels Like Summer. Additionally, Hana Koa Brewing Co.
Hana Koa Brewing is a gem in downtown Honolulu and a short drive from Waikiki beach! My friend who lives in Oahu highly recommended Hana Koa, and it delivered in every aspect. Our server, Sarina, was patient and careful with my gluten allergy. She made sure my food was totally safe for me (I have Celiac). I got the lemongrass chicken (juicy and perfectly cooked) as well as the Vietnamese salad with rice noodles, mint, and shrimp. The flavors were well balanced, ingredients were fresh, and I kept wanting to go back for another bite! My friends ordered the meat sandwiches and said it was delicious. I would come back here again and again each night of my vacation if I could! Now on to the atmosphere: positive, fun, and energetic. The service was fast, too - we waited maybe 15 minutes for our food. Come to Hana Koa for a good time! FYI- There is a free parking lot, but it fills up quickly.

Stopped by Hana Koa Brewing during a work trip and I will definitely be back! The vibe is fun, welcoming, and relaxed. The perfect mix of local charm and creative energy. The food goes way beyond typical “brewpub” fare. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. I had the Pork Belly Sliders and they were excellent! I sat at the bar and have to shout out my bartender, Lil Viking, super friendly and I appreciate the food recommendations! Parking is close and on the side of the brewery. I was there during the day so it was easy, but I imagine it fills up quick during peak hours. Merch: Definitely check out their merchandise area. I went home with a shirt!! Hana Koa is absolutely worth the stop for great food, great drinks, and great people. 🌈🍺 PS: Their brunch menu looks amazing as well!!

Good place and great beer, especially if you like hazy IPA's. Cloud Monster and Another Adventure were my favorites. My food was fantastic! Had the October special Green Curry Plate. Good heat but not so much as to obscure the taste. Highly recommended and hope to be back.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Oahu! Great beer and amazing food. I highly recommend the garlic shrimp plate with beef short ribs. Best beer on Oahu, maybe the best in Hawaii? The food was also the best we had while we were in Honolulu. Prime rib the size of my whole head for $32??? And it was gorgeously cooked. If you like craft beer, you have to make this a destination while you're visiting Hawaii.
Anna W — Google review
The beer is excellent, easily the highlight here. Great variety, great quality, and clearly award-winning. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t even come close. We arrived around 9:15 pm and sat at the bar. No greeting, no smile, just, “the kitchen’s closed.” The bartender was more focused on cleaning than acknowledging customers. After we found menus and ordered beers, we were grudgingly informed that the kitchen was actually still open. We ordered fries which, by the way, the menu says are available until 10 pm. The second bartender wasn’t any friendlier. The overall vibe was like we were interrupting their night rather than supporting their business. We paid, I tipped (out of habit), and instantly regretted it. In short: phenomenal beer, but the service kills the experience. A place this good on tap deserves staff who actually want to be there.
Martin N — Google review
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I’d personally petition Google for it. Nakamura's Marlin Toast at Hana Koa isn’t just food — it’s a full-blown spiritual awakening on toast! The smoky marlin practically melts on your tongue like it’s been training its whole life for this exact moment. Every bite had me questioning all my past life choices that didn’t involve ordering two more of these. The texture? Immaculate. The flavor? A love letter written by Poseidon himself. Pair it with one of their beers and you’ll ascend straight into flavor nirvana. If Hana Koa ever takes this off the menu, I’ll chain myself to the bar in protest. The Lil Viking in the kitchen has perfected this dish! In short: it’s not “just” marlin toast — it’s the reason I believe in second chances and happiness. THIS TOAST IS A TRUE WINNER on the menu!

Came here for dinner overlooking the ocean with the fire pits and live music. 5 stars all around. The place is a such a vibe, it didn not require a reservation. The server was so kind to recommend new dishes for me to try and experience here only in Hawaii. I would go back often if I had the money and luxury to do so. The only thing to nation about this place is that it was difficult to find by walking because it’s inside the Sheraton hotel.

The food was great, we came for oysters and they were delicious. The server/bartender sucks at serving. She was too busy taking shots with the 21 year old kids at the bar, and disregarded the actual tables of customers. Good points for improving it its maybe putting window film in the front entrance door and all the windows up top to provide some privacy and cut out all of the bright street lighting coming in and fighting with the inside dark smokey mood. Other then that I recommend this spot for some good fun

Loud but unique DJ mix. Service at the bar was great. The food was good overall. We had topped fries and a cuban. The atmosphere was definitely good, except... for a place designed for gathering and talking, you had to yell to the person next to you. The upside-down (cocktail) was delightful.

What an amazing vibe ! I absolutely loved the jazz and the ambience. It could be an amazing date night but I went for intimate time with my girl friend. I absolutely loved how the menu portions were fairly big and pretty decently priced.

Nice atmosphere for a date night! Our server was helpful & provided help with recommending cocktails to our taste. The food was delicious! Just small portions for the money. eg: a plate of corn chips with a small salsa was $9, and a single soft taco the size of my palm was $8. Having said that - it was worth the money for the flavour and quality of ingredients! Just don’t come here for food if you’re expecting value over quality.

I love thé drink and the appetizers they have here. Since it’s a drinking spot, they don’t have much foods but the appetizers were really great. The service was also good. There was a live DJ when we were there. So overall it was a great first experience.

Great food. A lot of different options that you don’t normally see anywhere else. Liked the chance to get to try a bunch of small plates. Reminded me of tapas place. The drinks were really good. The waitress was super helpful with picking something I wouldn’t normally get.

Tikis Grill & Bar, located at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, is a lively spot known for its Hawaiian cuisine, cocktails, and live music. The restaurant offers special dining experiences such as the Surf & Turf dinner entree and a 4-course prix-fixe dinner on Valentine's Day.
My husband and I had dinner at Tiki’s Grill & Bar last night and wow!!! From start to finish, it was such a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and we were lucky enough to get a table on the patio overlooking the beach and water—absolutely beautiful. Our server, Noah, was fantastic—so friendly, knowledgeable, and made wonderful suggestions based on our preferences. The live music added the perfect touch to the evening, and it was so, so good! We ordered the coconut shrimp & the special (filet mignon with shrimp), and everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Tiki’s if you’re in Waikiki!

Nice open air resturant. We had pretty good seats and were able to see the lights on the water. We parked at the zoo. It was just a 10 minute walk. My wife had the coconut chicken and I had the glazed ribs. The ribs had a mild sweetness and the coconut chicken had a nice sweet coconut flavor, including the rice. My favorite was the curly fries. Thick cut potatoes. The pineapple dessert is the creme rules. Its a nice mixture with the pineapple. We also had the cocnut shrimp appetizer, fantastic, failed to get a pic though. We were hungry.🙂

Caught the end of happy hour. Tried the chicken gyoza and fries furikake. The fries stole the show. We had the prime rib which was just average. The venison gyoza was very good. Lastly we had the smoked marlin dip which was tasty. The beer and drinks were cold. Live music was playing and the view of the ocean was amazing. This meal was worth it just for the view.

Went for Happy Hour and some Pupus. Our server, Tom, was excellent greeting us as soon as we sat down and moving us to an ocean view table. Had a coconut mojito and a margarita to drink and the HH portions of the coconut shrimp and Kailua Pork Quesadilla. Good size and perfectly cooked and tasty. Finished up with the seared ahi tataki pupus which was tender and delicious. Then as a finale, we had the Pineapple Creme Brulee. Overall a great experience and good value at just a squeak over $100 for 2.

This was out favorite place in Wakiki. The atmosphere was perfect siting outside and seeing the sun go down with the beach. The Ube Colada was the best drink, also the Mai Tai for sure with a take home glass. All the appetizers were amazing and the Steak and Ribs were fantastic.

Hau Tree is a beachfront restaurant and bar located at the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, offering creative Pacific Rim cuisine and a relaxing atmosphere. The eatery underwent a revamp in 2021 along with the hotel, featuring a casual-luxury aesthetic with teak and rope-trimmed chairs, coastal palette, woven light fixtures, and custom accent tiles.
We had the most amazing last meal of our honeymoon here. The sunset was just stunning. The ube pina colada was incredible. Focaccia and pasta also great. Service was amazing, such lovely staff. They made the night very special for us - even bringing out some congratulatory sparkling wine and dessert on the house. Could not recommend this restaurant enough.

Having a front row view of a Hawaiian sunset near the beach is the draw of this place. The menu has changed quite a bit from what I remember a decade ago. (LOL) The cocktails are great! We ordered 2 appetizer/starters (hamachi, octopus) and split a pasta because we had a larger lunch. We ordered dessert (pistachio) but were also presented with a birthday dessert. The service here is friendly and on Hawaiian time. ;)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful dinner at Hau Tree! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, and the oceanfront setting made the evening extra special. It’s also a great spot for families — our toddler loved her meal and enjoyed watching the boats go by. Such a relaxing, baby-friendly place with amazing service. Highly recommend for a lovely dinner by the water! ✨

Nice and cute. Disclaimer: The pictures that you normally see online are curated to show a very specific part of the restaurant. Call ahead and make reservations. Ok now to my experience. Food was really good with beautiful presentation. My favorite was the Eggs Benedict, we got the signature ones and the salmon ones, both were very good. Not much of a fan pf their version of “Shakshouka”. Its a very different dish than what i know as shakshouka in both flavor and presentation. Not a fan, but to each their own. Beautiful spot and very good service. The person serving us was very helpful and attentive, also made great cocktails recommendations; always a plus.

This restaurant was truly magical. The beachside view was so amazing. It really gives the holiday vibe. The tree decor inside the restaurant was really unique. The dishes did not disappoint either. I highly recommend ordering the poke cornet and the eggplant is the best I’ve ever had. The pastas were nice, but not as outstanding as other dishes A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for the experience and food.

We had such a great time here! The chilled vibes with the ocean, the sand, and the trees around made it feel so relaxing. The menu has plenty of options with nice local flavors. We tried the ahi poisson cru, cured salmon Benedict, ube cinnamon roll, and some fresh orange juice. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff were really friendly too. One funny thing, there were pigeons everywhere! The moment they spot an opportunity, they’ll swoop right onto your table and try to steal a bite. They’re cute, but also a little annoying😂 our lovely little companions at Hau Tree.

Our experience at Hau Tree was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was beautiful, and our server Gabe was the best we could’ve asked for — so kind, attentive, and truly made the night special. The Wagyu sirloin was incredible (especially with the dip 🤤), and the eggplant, local fish, and burrata with tomatoes were all to die for. Thank you, Gabe, for making our anniversary dinner the best! Easily one of our favorite meals in Waikiki — 10/10 recommend! 💕

I was looking forward to trying HT, but it left me wanting to go to another happy hour. Service was good, burger was decent and cocktails were acceptably made, but wayyyy overpriced for the quality....and this was happy hour. Ordered an old fashioned off the happy hour menu and definitely wasn't worth da $19. Ambiance would be fabulous if they trimmed some of the trees so the ocean was visible. What they have is validated parking and not much else on this side.

Nestled alongside RumFire at the Sheraton Waikiki, The Edge of Waikiki is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable experience. This outdoor bar boasts an infinity pool with breathtaking views of the ocean, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Guests can indulge in a delightful menu featuring signature cocktails and light bites infused with Hawaiian flavors, such as fish tacos and fire-grilled burgers.
What a place! We have stayed been to the Sheraton in the past, but didn't spend a lot of time at the Edge. Fantastic location. Closest bar you will find to the beach! The service at the bar area was outstanding. Thank you Loc's and Margie for a great experience! You guys are exceptional! The views were unreal! Live music was great.

Very nice bar to dine outside and enjoy the ocean view and sunset. I just got a few drinks, nothing major or to boast about. The bacon cheeseburger isnt a lil burger, I'll tell you that much. It felt like a pound of meat. I had to finish the rest without the bun and it was still a bit left over, you definitely will get your money's worth. And I had a lil friend that sat with me for a bit 🥰

Fantastic lunch options. I was fully satisfied with the appetizer poke dip and the gorgeous view. The ukelele is a great touch!

I went there for lunch, and while soda refills were free, orange juice seemed to be an additional charge. I wish there had been clearer instructions. The Japanese-speaking staff member who came to explain was also rude. The receipt included a tip, but I have no intention of tipping for service like this. I was disappointed.

Our flight was delayed for 5 hours so we spent time here after we checked out. I am glad that we had the opportunity because we typically hang out in the infinity pool (because it is so beautiful) and don't usually sit at the bar. The best part of this experience was the bartender Locks (Locksey)-she is so down to earth, friendly and the type of person who makes you feel at home immediately! The drinks, cheeseburger and view also made for a great time!

I really would have love to rate this place higher. The scenery is nice. The seating is a bit limited but overall my issue is around the quality of the food. Most of the food here is subpar and not matching the quality expected of Sheraton. After a few tries, we decided to eat in neighboring restaurants for quick bite.

Wang Chung's Karaoke Bar is a vibrant and cozy spot in Honolulu, perfect for those looking to unleash their inner rock star. With its inviting atmosphere adorned in Asian decor, this lively bar offers an array of specialty cocktails that are sure to enhance your karaoke experience. The talented staff often join patrons on stage for duets, creating a fun and inclusive environment.
We rented out their private room for my partner’s birthday to celebrate and enjoy with family from out of town and it was during the holiday season, literally the day after Christmas. The staff is incredible, so accommodating for parties, attentive, hospitality is through the roof! Wide range of songs. Such good fun. My partner said it was his best birthday yet. We also attended a themed game night, with my mom and aunties which was so iconic. This is a karaoke bar for all to come as you are and be welcomed as they are! A small intimate setting that feels like magic bottled up in a genie lamp, truly a place to make memories with all the people you love. Where all love can be celebrated! Because love is love.
Makanalani G — Google review
A very last minute, nocturnal decision brought us here. As my gang and I aimlessly searched for someplace open past 1am in Waikiki, the pickings were surprisingly slim. We were staying at the Sheraton Waikiki and Wang Chung seemed so far on the map as we were on-foot. But, after strolling down Kuhio Avenue talking, laughing and having fun, voila, we were at the front door! ATMOSPHERE: They're located in the back of the Stay Hotel's lobby (located behind the Hyatt Waikiki on a side street). It's a sliver of a space that was full of folks singing karaoke (pronounced kaah-rah-oh-kay, not Carrie-okie), drinking and having fun. We arrived a little after 1am and they close at 2am, so everyone was winding down and relaxed. There's a small central bar as you enter, with more seating towards the right corner though I didn't go exploring for details. EXPERIENCE: We got drinks at the bar and hung out on the side, winding down ourselves. I'm usually a white wine drinker but chose beer for my nightcap. I've always loved Heineken but you always get that one bottle with that rotten taste, in which I received here. After a few sips, I gave it to my friend lol. In no time, they were doing last call then the bright lights and kick-out. The staff announced to please be quiet as we exited as they have neighboring apartments. Most of the crowd hung out on the street, still talking and laughing. I was surprised no one shouted at them, but they're probably used to it. OVERALL: According to their website they serve food, but I didn't see any menus or anyone eating as it was almost closing time. We had a fun hour here and will definitely return in the future.

Absolutely the best karaoke spot in Honolulu! Wang Chong’s Karaoke Bar is an instant favorite. The vibe is fun, lively, and welcoming the moment you walk in. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel right at home, whether you're a seasoned singer or just there to cheer on your friends. The song selection is huge (everything from classics to the newest hits), and the sound system is surprisingly high quality for a karaoke bar. Drinks are great and reasonably priced, and the private rooms are clean, comfortable, and perfect for groups. What really sets this place apart is the energy, everyone is just there to have a great time. If you’re visiting Honolulu or you’re a local looking for a go-to karaoke night, Wang Chong’s is the place. Can’t wait to come back! 🎤🌺🔥

Loved it here. We didn’t see any problems with staff or patrons at all like many other reviews said. We had an amazing time and sang along with the crowd. Drinks were nice, well made and quick. Starting a tab is so easy too. I wish there was more seating but I understand there isn’t always space to add more. A fantastic place if you want to stay here for a couple of hours and drink.

One of my favorite karaoke spots on the island. It has a small section with a microphone stand that makes you feel like you are in an actual studio. Super nice staff, lovely atmosphere.

The staff failed to provide a duty of care, as well as the lobby staff. Disappointing. I had to rely on a friendly patron to help me in a time of need. Please do better for vulnerable and reasonable women next time.

The bar itself is janky, and the bartenders were unfriendly. The guy on the mic tonight who was in charge of calling people up was rude and standoffish, with no effort to explain how to participate. Overall, the environment felt unwelcomimg if you’re colored stay away— Not a warm or inviting experience.

House Without A Key is a popular indoor/outdoor restaurant in Waikiki known for its inventive island cocktails, locally sourced menu items, and live Hawaiian entertainment. Guests can enjoy sunset cocktails and appetizers while listening to live Hawaiian music under the stars by the sea. The venue offers a romantic and nostalgic atmosphere with a lovely hula dancer swaying to the riffs of Hawaiian steel-pedal guitar against the backdrop of a glowing sunset and ocean.
Came here for the breakfast buffet about half an hour before last seating and still managed to have a full meal! I love their assortment of foods and their Japanese breakfast selection (rice, miso soup station, pickles, ume, nishime, cold tofu, ohitashi, etc). They have an omelette bar too. I like that their food items seemed fresh and were all in cute Le Creuset pots. I even was able to get an iced coffee with a side of oat milk. Friendly staff and good relaxing vibes. Some birds flying around but not a huge deal.
Taylor — Google review
Great experience! We got there 30 mins before the sunset cocktails/dinner time seating began. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 children under 3 and we had an amazing time. We did not have reservations and got great seats in their outdoor area. (But remember we got there early) Music was lovely. Service was great. The view was beautiful. Such a lovely scenery. If you are visiting Waikīkī I personally believe this is a place you have to visit at least once. It truly was a cool Hawaii experience (especially if you are NOT into the lu’au scene like me). It was a chill laid back dinner with cocktails and music experience. And yes the Mai tais were delicious. FOR THE PARENTS: They have a grassy area where the kids could run around and play and that was a HUGE plus for us since we have a toddler and a very active crawling 10 month old. So yes bring the kids and enjoy with the whole family. Also I think we stayed for 3 hours. We had a blast.

House Without a Key was outstanding! From the moment we arrived until we left, the service was top-notch. They offer valet parking, and you can get your parking validated for 4 hours by the restaurant. Melissa greeted us and showed us to the restaurant. There was a short wait, but with the gorgeous view, perfect weather, and live music, it wasn't a problem while we waited for our table. Once seated, Trey was our server, and he was fantastic. He went over the menu with us and recommended some of his personal favorites. We started with cocktails and an appetizer. We had the Lawai'a roll, Pulehu Pineapple, and Coconut Old Fashioned. They also brought out complimentary Taro Rolls accompanied by a tropical butter, which was a nice touch. I'm still thinking about that Lawai'a roll while writing this review! For our main dish, we split the Tutū Mā Asian Braised Short Ribs with roasted red potatoes and home fries--it was just the right amount and very tasty. While we ate, the Hawaiian music continued, and a hula dancer appeared around 6pm, adding to the vibe. To wrap up, Kevin helped us with our car and even handed us two waters. Honestly, we had an amazing time all around--definitely check this place out!

I took a group of 10. Get there at 5 PM and seating close to the music is easy. Lovely sunset restaurant, at the water's edge. Nightly sunset music. The night we went we experienced the current and 20+ past Miss Hawaii dancing hula. One can order from the cocktail & pupu menu or ask for the dinner menu...we opted for the dinner menu. The food is superior. This is definitely a "must do" when visiting Waikiki.
Ed R — Google review
Had a lunch here on the patio. We had the lobster salad and fish of the day (swordfish sandwich), combined with some cocktails. The cocktails were ok, but imo too expensive. Happy to also get some taro sandwiches with pineapple butter, yummy! Our entrees were also pretty expensive, but it was tasty and well balanced. My salad was not just lettuce and tomatoes, but also carrots, roots, cabbage, avocado, apple, etc. I had lots of lobster meat (I think I actually had a whole lobster). My husband's swordfish sandwich was also a whole filet on the burger with delicious tartar sauce. You mainly pay for the view of course. Despite that there were over 6 servers and only 2 other tables, tables around us sat with empty dishes and glasses from previous guests for almost our whole entire meal. Our server or one of the others that were just standing there, ignored those tables. I guess because it wasn't 'their' job. But this just comes across as lazy and not very nice to look at as guests (we can't keep watching the view the whole time). Other than that, beautiful setting! Would love to come back in the evening when they have live entertainment. Not entirely sure if it worth having dinner over here though. Perhaps just some bar food and drinks?

Waikiki Brewing Company is a popular local brewery with two locations, one in Kalakaua and the other in Kakaako. The original location offers a spacious, laid-back atmosphere with TVs for sports enthusiasts. They serve delicious food like truffle fries and wings with their award-winning barbecue sauce made from Black Strap Molasses Porter. Their Hana Hou Hefe wheat beer, infused with strawberries, is perfect for hot summer days.
Last minute choice ended up being a good one! The service was top notch. Lots off good food, in-house draft beers were really good, the food came out hot and was incredible. Seating is plentiful with indoor and patio seating. Try it out when your in town!

If you’re in Waikiki and looking for good vibes, great food, and amazing drinks, Waikiki Brewing Company is the spot! We ordered the pepperoni pizza and chicken wings, and both were absolutely outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing (though you might not want to!). To wash it down, we tried a Lava Flow and the Ali Wai Mermaid—both were delicious, tropical, and dangerously easy to enjoy. What really made the night, though, was our server Jazzy. She was full of energy, so much fun, and made the whole experience even better. Her vibe matched the place perfectly—laid-back, friendly, and just a great time. Between the food, drinks, and awesome service, this place is a must-visit in Waikiki. Highly recommended! 🌺🍕🍹🍗

They have a nice selection of delicious cold draft beers. They also make other mixed drinks. We got some lunch here and everything we ordered was delicious. I ordered a nice Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The lettuce was fresh chicken was tender and the dressing was perfectly proportioned. I also ordered a burrito with the egg on top. Amazing. It's easy to hear each other in there. The wait staff are friendly and not pushy. We really enjoyed ourselves there.

Both food and drink were great. Great selection of beer and mixed drinks. The staff were great. Tha biggest downfall is that this is the second trip I have made here and still can't get a shirt because they did not have any. The staff showed me where they should be and joked about the lack of items currently to purchase. I'd really like a shirt but won't be in Oahu for a while and hope someone can reach out about this.

Loved it here! First things first, my server was wearing a Yankees hat which almost made me leave…. But I’m glad I stayed! From the moment I was seated, everyone was very kind and attentive. My server provided some great recommendations and I ended up enjoying a strawberry IPA, which was surprisingly good. I then ate the wagyu smash burger and it was huge and delicious. You also have to try the garlic parm fries!!! This was a last minute meal before hitting Cirque Du Solei and it was the perfect option. Everything about this place was good, from the food to the staff. Will 100% come back!

Visit to Waikīkī brewing company, the menu was large and happy hour deals were good. We went for two main dishes, I got the Mahi Mahi and the fish was quite dry and tasted over cooked. The meal size was average, could have been a bit larger. We sat outside - it’s right along the main road so can be busy with traffic. Inside, there was lots of sport on which we didn’t fancy sitting around as was kind of busy. I would rate this place as average for food, but a very good selection of beers may make up for it!
Rebecca R — Google review
Very nice experience! Had the BBQ burger and it was SO good and incredibly juicy, but the highlight was the flight of draft beers (which also included an amazing cider). It is really good that you can choose the flavors. They also have incredible happy hour deals not only during normal happy hour hours but also past 9pm, and serve food until closing. It was lively even on a Wednesday. The service was absolutely amazing. Not only was everyone incredibly nice, but my server gave amazing recommendations and knew the menu really well. Great experience!

We really like this restaurant—it has great vibes, a cute pool, and excellent service. The food comes in large portions and is nicely cooked. The chicken, in particular, is tender and flavorful. It’s also in a great location, within walking distance of the main street. They host lunch parties on Saturdays and often have live music with talented singers performing great songs.

Everything was going well. We had a nice smoked ahi & oysters for starters, steak and pork chop for the mains, and a beautiful cocktails. We had a reservation for 2 - for our anniversary, which they honored & gave us a quiet spot (one of the round tables in the corner). I also advanced order a dessert to surprise my husband w/ a greeting if they do that. So, comes the dessert. The server offered 3 items as Anniversary dessert (not explained but was charged half the price). From their menu it looks like the Banana Pudding was most popular so we got that. We waited for about 10 minutes for this - mind you we’re already done, table is clean, and is waiting for the check. There were 5-6 tables being served and less busy than we arrived. Comes the banana pudding on a ramekin, with a candle (as requested), served by the host, not the server. Our excitement slowly fades when we realize this might be a joke. It’s not a pudding after all. Someone decided to slice a banana, top off with whip, & sprinkles cookie crunch. Literally chopped bananas!! My husband and I laugh about it. Maybe someone was tripping, but sorry if that’s the quality that you advertised, you need to set expectation better. Maybe call it fruit bowl with whip & cookie crunch.

They make their own lilikoi syrup as well. The ambience and customer service are on point but the food and drinks will have you coming back. The validate for 4 hrs of parking in Hyatt Centric.

Chance upon this place after a recommendation by a hotel staff nearby. The ambience is awesome with live music at the pool side. Didn't expect to find this gem. The food was nice especially the Banana Pudding. I ordered after I saw earlier post mentioning abt this pudding. Overall satisfy with what I got tonight 😋

Hated to be cut the rating but three of our fairly large party got sick hours after eating here. Which is a shame since most of the dishes were fine! My nephew enjoyed the pizza the most. The hostess and the waitress were great, providing us with tons of service. Most of us had the raw oysters, and most of us did not get sick, but the oysters were flown in from Washington State so it's not local. I suspect that we were sitting in the hotel lobby which had an indoor pool, which at dinner was a nice touch since it provided us with a semblance of someone's backyard patio.

Nice setting with music and dining under the stars (if sitting outside). We tried the family feast (red snapper) and Margherita pizza. The fish was fried nicely and some of the sides were great. A little over priced.

Heyday is a trendy poolside bar in Honolulu, offering a contemporary twist on the late 1960s Waikiki vibe. The cabana bar features swings for seats and serves up creative cocktails like the Fete 75 and Daiquiri Number Fun. The menu offers a fusion of Continental cuisine, including options like smoked ono salad BLT and Korean kalbi glazed meatballs.
Spring roll and banana lumpia are amazing! I went to happy hour. Zack’s service was great too. Nice little spot to grab some food, drinks and swing away by their pool.

Located inside of white sands hotel. We visited this spot and fell in love with the decor. Even checked out their speakeasy green lady. Loved the vibes but the service all around was a bit lacking. Pretty good drinks! Definitely a cute theme.
SheReviewz — Google review
Had a great time here. I saw the photos online and thought it looked like a fun spot to hit for happy hour on our vacation, and it definitely was. The drinks can be a bit pricey if not happy hour, but they were certainly strong — if that's your thing! We didn't order food, so I can't speak to that, but the vibes were great and the service was friendly and attentive. Heyday is connected to a hotel and is right by its pool. I'd say the primary selling point aside from the drinks would be the fun/unique setup of swings at the bar and proximity to the pool. Would hit it up again if I'm ever in Waikiki/Honolulu!
Loren — Google review
Loved this place! Drinks were strong, food was great, and such a chill atmosphere tucked away in the city. Their happy hour specials last half the day and not unreasonable prices.

I had a great time as a new local Mason and Dakota were so friendly from the beginning another local at a previous bar had referred us this place. Koi fish, great wine and drinks, the hospitality made this place fun.
Jacqueline G — Google review
It’s a little intimidating at first, but if you just ignore that it’s totally fine. The swing bar seating may run some people the wrong way, but I really liked it—it was relaxing and felt like it took a load off standing all day. The drinks were good, although I agree with those who day the Mai tais have too much ice. I preferred the daiquiri, and I went with the bartender’s recommendations for less sweet and more spiced and complex. The seared ahi looked plain, but they did a really nice job with a bit of sauce and wasabi underneath, and a big pile of horseradish. The cheesy bread was tasty and not a crazy amount of food. The drinks are on the pricy side for Oahu, probably average for Waikiki, but the food was average/reasonable, especially the happy hour menu 12-6pm. Drinks were made quickly, but no one was in a rush, which was fine.
Mira S — Google review
I travel to Waikiki semi-frequently. When in town we usually visit the same bars and restaurants. We found Heyday while walking around one afternoon and decided to stop in. I’m glad we did, we felt like we discovered a hidden gem. We were treated to wonderfully crafted cocktails and conversation by our bartenders Kendall and Mason. The pool-side atmosphere and bar side swings are unforgettable. The food selection was also a big hit with our group. I will definitely be coming back the next time I am in town.
Matt M — Google review
Note: Kitchen & happy hour opens at 3pm, not 2pm as seen on the old menu pics. Great service from Toby the bartender. Try the Swingin’ 75 cocktail. Amazing extra crispy steak fries. Onion dip & sliders were tasty. Loved that the had bottles & glass pours of Dr. Konstantin Frank Riesling from NY. The swings at the bar will comfortably hold 250+ pounds each.

Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood, 8 Fat Fat 8 Bar & Grille has been a beloved local hangout since 1986. This no-frills establishment boasts a cozy, dimly-lit ambiance that invites you to unwind and enjoy some delicious Chinese cuisine. The menu features crowd favorites like the crispy Fat Fat Chicken and flavorful pork chops, both perfect for pairing with refreshing drinks.
The garlic shrimp was fantastic! Nice staff, nice atmosphere, would love to go back

This is a perfect dive bar to watch football, drink cheap drinks, and enjoy Chinese bar food. Prices are great. But don't expect some fancy bar. This is the local bar you come to to hang out and catch a game. It's the type of place folks have been going to for decades.
Nick W — Google review
Such a wonderful gem of a bar. Cozy and familiar atmosphere with karaoke, pool and plenty of good seating. Very affordable drinks and a menu that is a contender for one of my favorite on the island. Their curry shrimp noodles and gao gi were sublime, would recommend this bar and grille any day!

I’ve been looking for authentic tasting Chinese food for ages (and just moved back to Hawaii and knew I’d find some here). Food was great, prices are reasonable, service was great even though the place was busy. So fun to find this gem in a dive bar setting. This will be one of my local restaurant rotationals for sure and I’ll be spreading the word to my mates about this place. I parked on street and then realized there’s a parking lot for the restaurant too. It keeps getting better haha. Mahalo 8 Fat Fat 8!!! See you again soon.

It's a nice local bar with local food and vibes. Service is always friendly and you can sing karaoke or have at it at the dart board or pool table. The patrons are always friendly as well.

Still one the best places to chill and get great food. The service is always awesome. I love the old school bar feel, you can feel at home and no need to dress up. Oh and they make great drinks from old fashions to high balls... or just have a cold beer. They have such great Chinese style pupus and dishes ...
Leon H — Google review
Wow! I didn't know that a dive bar could serve such delicious food. The fried chicken, beef chow fun, and rib eye were tasty. Also, the reasonable price, especially during happy hour. I recommend stopping by this place.
Daren C — Google review
They've done it right since opening during the latter part of Covid and continue to keep their guests safe and comfortable. Service is better than ever with a few new faces, casual and old school, neighborhood style. Bottom line though, food is better than ever. They're known for their food menu and rest assured, you won't be disappointed! Pretty sure they've increased their customer base because of everything they've done this past year, and being consistent on the food. Way to go owners and staff! 4/2023 Nice and still ono food. Call to make a rez on Fridays after work. ✌️

Tucked away on the second floor of a parking lot near a comedy club, Wild Orange at HB Social Club is a hidden gem that opened in early spring 2022. To enter, you'll need to locate a door disguised as a juice vending machine and bring along a nickel to open it.
🍸 Hidden gem with incredible plant-based food and cocktails! 🌿 Loved this spot! As a proper speakeasy, it’s meant to be hard to find — and that just adds to the experience. The Japanese-inspired drinks were excellent and the plant-based food was outstanding. Great atmosphere once you’re inside. Definitely worth the hunt if you’re into unique cocktails and a cool, hidden vibe.
Jay J — Google review
We really enjoyed the food and drinks here! We try to wide variety and everything is plant-based. If you're only going to order one of the baos definitely make it the tofu one. It is by far way better than the mushroom one. The entrance to it is quite obscure and sketchy which I understand is the point of a speakeasy. There is a lot of emphasis on their website and the text they send you after you reserve about showing up on time and being charged a no-show fee of $50 if you don't follow through. I believe this is all meant to create an illusion of scarcity to increase demand and cool Factor. At this point there is absolutely no need because there was only one other table in there when we were there. I think they're hoping people make a reservation and don't show up because it's guaranteed income.
Kaylynn — Google review
I’m extremely surprised that this place holds a 4.7 rating after the service our group received. The atmosphere looks cheaply decorated. The seating isn’t ideal for groups of more than 4. They dont inform you ahead of time that only one consolidated check is provided and you can’t split the payment. For a high tourism area you should inform your guests of this policy and any others. During our visit, I ordered a mocktail. I asked the waitress multiple questions about the four N.A. options offered. Once the drink arrived at the table I tried it and didn’t like it. That flavors were too sour and overpowering. I was hoping for something more muted and smooth. After trying my friend’s drinks, I didn’t like their choices either, so I wasn’t confident that the establishment could produce a beverage I’d enjoy. I told the waitress that I didn’t like that drink and wanted to send it back. She questioned me twice why I didn’t like the drink and I felt so uncomfortable and backed into a corner in front of my group of friends. A manager then comes over and continues the same attitude with “I just want to make sure we’re on the same page here”, but never once was apologetic, she acted offended that I didn’t like it. She did ask if I wanted something else but I declined and didn’t want to be there any longer after these encounters. When the bill came my drink was included. $10 for a mocktail which contained probably 1/2 a cup of liquid. The waitress argued with me when I asked why the charge stood on the bill. She said that since the drink was delivered to the table, I had to pay for it and that it was a policy of their establishment. If this is a policy, then why wouldn’t you inform your guests earlier in the evening? Why was this never told to me until I found the discrepancy myself? I can only assume that since 20% auto-gratuity was included due to our party size, they didn’t care what level of service was provided. The waitress proceeded to talk about our table as I watched the exchange unfold behind the bar and dirty looks at our group for the remainder of the evening. I hope sharing my experience helps this establishment better train their staff and management.
Ali M — Google review
Disregard the falsely low rating here from a single disgruntled patron… though it might help this spot stay a well kept secret! This play is what a speakeasy should be: a little out of the way and a bit difficult to find, with a reward in terms of ambiance and a delicious cocktail selection. Also a fantastic j-hop/jazz hop playlist... will be back.
Tyrone J — Google review
If you can make it past the gym goers without feeling guilty, through the parking lot and gain approval from Hulk, you might just be let in. This was a fun quest and the ladies behind the bar were so welcoming. The food served as some delicious appetizers - all vegan. The cocktails were innovative and well balanced and the vibe was spot on

Village Bottle Shop & Tasting Room in Kaka`ako is a modern and sleek industrial-style craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. It offers 16 draft beers, bottles, and more than 500 beers for sale. The tasting room is known for being the first to access new beers entering Hawaii's market, often hosting special events like brand launches or tap takeovers. Co-owner Tim Golden has established it as a go-to craft beer resource.
Chill atmosphere, good selection of rotating beer taps both international and locally brewed. The refrigerated bottle selection of beers is extensive, and well organised by style. Staff are knowledgeable and willing to help. Outdoor seating is available, which is fun. Family-friendly beer bar. If you want food, you can bring your own.. Wine is also available draught.

Great variety of beers on tap! The refrigerated beer cans selection was super fun and has changed a lot since I was there in early June (2 months). They have a lot of really good San Diego beers, and some good NA beers too! Staff was friendly & helpful. Suggest finding street parking.

Pillage bottle shop is such a sick spot for pub food and amazing beer. The selection that village has is endless. They have an amazing selection on tap from local to other breweries from all over the place. Can’t go wrong with getting flight and they even let you sample the beer. They also have a little market that you can buy beer or all types of drinks that they let you drink at the bar or at your table. The food is also amazing!! You really can’t go wrong when you come to village bottle shop.
Andrew G — Google review
First of all, they have to trivia on Tuesdays, which is a pretty cool vibe. I initially stumbled upon this place by going there for an Oktoberfest event, and I've been pleasantly surprised ever since. The space is very clean, and the coolest part about this shop is their incredible selection flexibility. If you're not digging what they have on tap, you can select literally anything from their massive options in the refrigerators. They will charge you a nominal $2 corkage/service fee to put it into a glass for you to enjoy right there! Another great feature is that they even have some hard seltzer options if beer and wine are not your thing. It's also conveniently located in SALT Kakaʻako, so the energy and atmosphere around the area are pretty cool. Definitely a good place to check out for any craft beverage enthusiast!
Meagan — Google review
I want to love this place, but we need to agree to just be friends. It's me not you, really. You've got an awesome beer selection on and off tap. Perfect location. Nice crowd with interesting people. But I'm a simple guy. I like a pint of beer that tastes great where I can just sit and chill with friends. When I'm with you, I feel inadequate. Like I'm supposed to know which combination of hops are best or appreciate the interplay between the citrus notes with earthy woodiness. I'll come visit for sure, but you and I are on different paths. But, ahh, I do keep coming back. Like googling an old flame, I sit, reminisce, and enjoy the moment. And the past. And wonder about the future.
John S — Google review
Great spot to get a huge selection of local and international beers. Nice tap selection plus bottles can be consumed on site. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Village Bottle Shop is such a cool hangout spot inside SALT at Kakaʻako. It’s a beer lovers’ paradise. There’s tons of beers on tap, plus a fridge full of other drinks (think seltzers, Hawaiian specialty brews, non-alcoholic options, and more). It has a super laid-back vibe, it’s easy to grab a table, and everyone working there is friendly. Perfect for grabbing a drink with friends before dinner or just chilling on a weekend.

The bar also serves fusion gourmet pizzas with unique flavors such as smoked salmon, red onions, capers, cream cheese, gorgonzola cheese, imported prosciutto, fresh mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and more.
Way more beer selections than you see anywhere else. And quality beer (Duvel, Chimey, Founder's) and all the local beer (maui, kona, lanai, Aloha, waikiki), and organized by all the varieties (lagers, ipa, sours, stouts, anvers...). My new go-to local chinatown/downtown bar. The food is also awesome! Great selection of flatbreads and pupus! The live music is also a huge plus! And they have private rooms for larger parties!

Worst customer service ever. I presented my Drivers License and the door guard kept it asking for another ID. When I asked why he said there was something odd. He then got incredibly aggressive with other patrons saying that we were too close to his butt and he had a hundred things going on right now. Eventually his boss came and said there was no issue with my state issued drivers license. I will never visit this place again with this person working security. Pure incompetence

Managers are incredibly rude and stuck up. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you want bad service and shitty managers that don’t give a shit about their jobs or employees. Just Horrible people .
A U — Google review
When this bar first opened, it must've had the most expansive beer selection in the state. I still think it boasts a pretty large selection of beers to try. What's more, they have a nice selection of pizzas to snack on while imbibing the various bottles of beer available. The location of the bar is convenient for downtown office workers to grab an after work drink. But, it's a great hangout for those coming into Chinatown as well. The area has improved a bit in the last decade due to the recent gentrification that's been taking place.

The atmosphere for this wine bar is top tier, great ambiance. The seating options include high top tables or lounge couches, so make sure to specify what type of seating you prefer. Wine flights are from $25-$35 dollars where you are provided 3 oz of 3 different wines. Happy hour wines are picked by bar staff, and vary. It is located inside a furniture store which can be confusing, it’s located on the second floor.

We reserved 7 pm on a Friday and had no problem walking in a bit early. Unusually it was very quiet and we were the only guests for the first hour. I’m not sure why since the shareable food options were delicious and very reasonably priced. We tried the wonderful shrimp pinxo (fav), and the Korean fried chicken (yummy) and the potatoes also good but a lot of potatoes. Their wine and drink selection was inspired with a choice of vintage wines from around the world as well as a variety of specialty cocktails. The only negative was being the only ones there. Bonus: free parking garage below the restaurant.
Jim R — Google review
An interesting place, they give you a card in which there is a limit of $ 32 and you can taste different wines, the cost of a glass is indicated on a small screen. Don't expect to pour a whole glass, it's just a tasting, in tasting you always try a little bit to feel the whole taste of the wine, an interesting experience. Unfortunately, the choice of food is not great and the portions are like in French restaurants, so go there full. The place is hidden on the second floor along with a furniture store, we went from the parking lot and found it quickly, it would not be clear from the street. The waiters are very nice.

We had an AMAZING server that made our girls night out the phenomenal! The entire staff was "all hands on deck" which was great to see and we were never lacking anything. The decor features deep shades of brown and purple with plush velvet and dark leather seating, creating a cozy 1920s speakeasy atmosphere.
Had a good experience here! I got the espresso martini and I believe my boyfriend got the Bee's Knees. We both really enjoyed our drinks- both very well balanced! We both love the vibe w/ the records & whatnot.

I went on a Saturday night around 10-ish. No reservation, had plenty of seating available. No food that i can recall, our group only drank whiskey cocktails. Overall experience was different from before covid. It used to feel like a speakeasy, now it feels more like a bar kind of vibe. Cons: You go to the bar and order. Water is self serve. Menus are placed on every table. No server or waiter. Pros: Cocktails were delicious, atmosphere was dimly lit (for all to relax and chill), corner had a live DJ, music matched the mood (slightly loud, hard to hear your group chat), comfortable seating. They also close at 12 am. Would I come back, I guess so. But will most likely look for better options.
Ryan Y — Google review
Not sure why this joint isn't on Yelp, but happy I get to introduce it. It's a speakeasy above the kaka'ako Aloha Beer that's open only Fridays and Saturdays. They serve a selection of the popular beers from downstairs as well as craft cocktails. The cocktails are mostly classics such as painkiller, old fashioned, paper plane, with some of their own like the aloha. What sets this place apart is how well each drink is made. It's order at the bar and find your own seating type of place so don't be shy and make friends in the lounge seating enclaves. Be friendly with an aloha spirit like the bar staff so no worries sista/brah. Love the dark and gothic ambiance, but not sure what to think of the fairy tail looking reindeer over the stage/fire except that I found it funny once told it wasn't real. There's valet or self parking next to the place and the fee is reduced with validation. If you're really overzealous you can visit Aloha Beer until 11 pm and come up here til midnight. Only recommendation I’d have is to improve the ice. They use regular ice versus large cubes or balls. Regular ice melts too fast, especially on the island.
Roya M — Google review
I like it. Decor and ambiance are great. The speciality cocktails are really good. Live music the Friday evening we went. Ended by 10:30pm I liked the Bees Knees and the Hoki Toki I think that was the name. Will return.

Hi Brau room is a really nice speakeasy located on top of aloha beer. Don't be fooled by the door as you can open it and walk in. The bartenders seem to really know how to make drinks as their cocktails are so fancily made. I recommend booking a reservation for groups larger than 4 as I saw many people get added to the waitlist since they didn't have a reservation prior. We came here on a Saturday night around 7 pm for two people and snagged the last spot at the bar. The food kitchen closes by 1045 pm and there are restrooms downstairs. Parking isn't that convenient so be prepared to walk a few blocks. Anyways highly recommend coming here for a quick drink, meetup with friends, or to celebrate!

We rented out the space for a wedding related event this summer. We had the best time here and it was the perfect space for our group. It had a fun speakeasy feel and the the furniture and the decor is inviting and cozy. The bartenders were so professional and personable and the food and drinks were amazing! We can’t wait to come back next time we are in Hawaii. Highly recommend dropping in for a cocktail or renting out the space for a private event.

Excellent vibe, not your typical tourist filled spot. Stopped by after dinner, 10 min walk from SALT, don't be afraid of the dark walk at night. The bartender was excellent, Ben can whip up anything you desire. Just mention your favorite drink and the mood you're in. The place gives off a speakeasy feeling, akin to mainland East coast lux bars. Excellent drinks and a record player for your pleasure.

We had an incredible dinner at Yard House in Honolulu! I ordered the Maui Pineapple Chicken and my husband got the Bleu Cheese and Bacon Burger—both were fantastic, but the chicken absolutely blew me away. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and that glaze? Truly to die for. Our server, Brian, made the experience even better. He was fun, kind, and super attentive from start to finish. The vibe of the restaurant was right up our alley too—the music was on point and added to the overall great atmosphere. For the quality of food, service, and setting, you really get the best bang for your buck here. We couldn’t have picked a better dinner spot in Honolulu. Highly recommend!

We’ve been here twice. Both times it was pretty busy, but the wait was reasonable. It is pretty loud and dark which made it a little challenging to have conversation and hear each other. The food was pretty decent. We ordered several items. The Chicken Tenders and the Spicy Jambalaya were especially delicious. We also ordered the pretzel, which was a little pricey for a pretzel, but it was rather large. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was pretty dry, hardly any sauce, so I wouldn’t order it again, but I would go back a third time and try something else for sure. They did have a big selection on the kid’s menu: Burger sliders, chicken tenders, Mac and cheese. Our servers were very friendly and attentive considering how busy things were each night.

I stopped in at Yard House and ordered the small chicken salad along with a side of sweet potato fries. The “small” salad was actually quite generous in size — fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful enough to feel like a full meal on its own. It had a good balance of ingredients, with the chicken cooked just right and served in a way that felt both hearty and light. The sweet potato fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and they came with a maple syrup dip. That was a first for me, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise — the sweetness of the syrup paired nicely with the savory fries and gave them a unique flavor profile compared to the usual ketchup or aioli. Service was another highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and seemed genuinely welcoming, which made the overall experience more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable enough for conversation, with the upbeat energy you’d expect from Yard House. It feels like a great spot whether you’re there for a casual bite, watching a game, or meeting with friends. Overall Impression: Good food, unique touches like the maple syrup dip, and excellent service make Yard House a solid choice. I’d definitely come back to try more menu items.

We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day! The price and offering was right for Waikiki. The whole family found lots of options - nice variety on the kids menu and a special gluten free menu and a beer menu for dad. The brussel sprouts were amazing! The kale Caesar was also very good. The service was good and fast and if you lacked anything you could order from the tabletop stand. It is very very loud in there so don’t look to converse much, just eat and enjoy!

This place never disappoints. The beer selection is as large as any place I've been. Add to that happy hour prices and it's perfect to catch the NBA finals game. Our server was wonderful. The happy hour portions of food were very generous.

Everything in this menu is fantastic Mason was our server and he was THE DUDE! fast to get our order, great with the recommendations, and was just a chill guy. We mentioned we are in Hawaii for our anniversary and at the end of our dinner he got us a gift a oreo cookie brownie ice cream and it was amazing Ive had alot of servers the are great, but Mason was one of the best for simply being personable and caring. The beer choice is one of the best in Hawaii, and there is so much variety in the menu that there's a meal for anyone in your family. One of the best places to stop in Waikiki!

Guacamole & chips turned out to be a big portion, which was good. Not enough guacamole for that amount of chips, though. My companion's noodles with shiitake mushrooms were delicious.

The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Only thing I didn't like was the lighting. It's difficult to read the menu and need to use your phone light to see. You have to try the beer of course, very tasty!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Honolulu's Chinatown, The Pig and The Lady is a must-visit for anyone craving modern Vietnamese cuisine with a twist. This family-run gem offers an exciting menu that changes regularly, showcasing inventive dishes that are rich in flavor and creativity. One standout item is their famous pho French dip sandwich, which has garnered rave reviews for its unique combination of braised brisket and Thai basil chimichurri, served alongside a comforting bowl of pho broth perfect for dipping.
The Pig and TheLady was amazing! All the dishes I ordered at this restaurant were delicious. The pho was especially tasty, and I ended up ordering extra ahi because it was so good. The staff were all friendly and had great energy, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was very hip and trendy. Highly recommend!

We came for the highly recommended Pho French Dip. We found it’s only available for lunch… although our highly skilled waiter told us it’s also available at the farmers market on Saturdays. I had the pork chop with mango slaw - it was amazing! We enjoyed incredible appetizers: chicken wings fried to perfection with a tasty sauce + peanuts and a Cesar salad. The dessert was incredible: a soft serve with a unique Vietnamese honeycomb cake. Oh, and the bathroom was hilarious and cool!

I don't often leave reviews but I'm still thinking about this meal 2 months later so I feel it's only right to say something. We found this restaurant while visiting and I'm so glad we did - I'm not usually a fan of asian fusion but The Pig & the Lady proved me wrong. Each dish was a 10/10 and service was warm and attentive. We enjoyed our dinner so much we squeezed in another lunch visit the next day before our flight. Honolulu wasn't my favourite but I'd come back just to have this meal again, the team at The Pig and the Lady should be proud of the work they do

We were excited to see this new location and it did not disappoint. Vibe is super cute, food is onos as always, staff was friendly & parking was super easy. They validate parking for the Civil Beat structure ($3 after validation) or you can park in the open lot by 3660. We shared a couple apps then ordered our own mains. Highly recommend if you never got to try them while they were downtown. Will definitely be back!

One of the best bowls of pho I’ve had in a long time. The broth was rich and delicious with a deep beef flavor, fatty but not overwhelming. Surprisingly, the meal came without the usual plate of herbs and bean sprouts, and it didn’t need it. Everything was seasoned perfectly, so I never felt the need to add anything extra. The noodles tasted like pho tuoi (fresh noodles) rather than the factory-made kind, which made a big difference. The star of the bowl was a massive rib bone with tender, fall-off-the-bone meat. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the experience. A perfect spot for either a date night or a casual meal. The decor and ambience struck a nice balance, relaxing yet vibrant.

Amazing service. Amazing food. Innovative menu. The Chinese mustard dressing on the chrysanthemum salad was out of hand. The cabbage, delectable and the yolk sauce almost made me cry it was so good. The bites were great! I had a couple of good cocktails too.

Heard great things about The Pig and The Lady but coming here on a busy night might've been a miss. We ordered the 75 Pho Dac Biet and Vegan Pho and the food was decent, but nowhere near the authenticity of other Vietnamese restaurants (especially for that price range). The fried green beans appetizer was underwhelming, we got maybe 7-8 pieces of green beans and the rest was cabbage and mint. Our service was extremely late, we had to wait 30 minutes before our first appetizer came and then another 15 minutes before our entree came, we arrived at 7:00pm and left th restaurant at 9:00pm (we didn't have an appointment). The staff were really nice and the ambiance was modern and had moments of heritage, but the steep prices and long wait times overshadowed everything else, not sure if I'd return.

Absolutely loved my experience at The Pig and The Lady in Hawaii. The food was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served in generous portions. It was honestly some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had. You could truly taste the care and love in every bite. Our server, Justice, made the experience even better. He was warm, attentive, and gave us spot on recommendations that made our meal unforgettable. 10/10 would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Oahu. My only regret, not going back for a second round before my trip ended.

Fantastic location, right on the water! It allows a nice breeze and beautiful views while you crush a refreshing, well crafted local beer. 🍺 The sangria is made fresh, and the food menu has so much to choose from. It seems to get very busy on the weekends, so there was a slight wait on a Sunday when we went, but plenty of bar seating. Great place to grab an early dinner after a day of snorkeling at Hanauma Bay!

Really enjoyed dining here. The pepperoni appetizer was homemade and delicious, the burger was perfectly cooked and tasty, and everything else we had was also delightful. The vibe was great, we sat on the dock overlooking the boats. And all around great experience. Will be back next time I visit.

The macadamia crust fish was so delicious. Slightly crunchy, buttery fish, delicious sauce, nicely charred greens, and perfectly cooked rice. 10/10 would recommend. This restaurant was just a pit stop before getting malasadas from Leonard's but turned out to be one of my favorite meals in Honolulu. Great views too.

Visited Kona Brewing Company for a beer tasting using my Go City Oahu pass. One pass included a flight of four small beers, supposedly valued at $15 — maybe! I asked the waitress to surprise me with the selection, which was a fun touch. I ordered the fresh fish sandwich, and my friend got a salad. The fish sandwich was more like a fish burger, but it was tasty either way. Just a heads-up: adding a side will cost you an extra $2 to $4.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4-Star Review Kona Brewing Hawaii Kai is a beautiful spot with a great mix of good food, quality beer, and some of the best harbor views you’ll find anywhere on O‘ahu. We stopped in for a drink and a quick snack, and it ended up being a really enjoyable visit. The views alone make the trip worthwhile—there’s something special about sipping a cold beer while looking out over the water. We tried a couple of their beers along with the chicken wings, and everything was delicious. The wings in particular were a highlight—crispy, flavorful, and a perfect pairing with a cold Kona brew. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it an easy place to sit back and enjoy the island breeze. Service was also excellent. Staff were friendly, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly even during the busier moments. The only downside, and the reason for the 4-star rating, was the merchandise area. I’m a big fan of brewery swag and was looking forward to picking some up, but the whole section was roped off and unavailable for browsing. It was disappointing to leave without grabbing anything, especially when I was ready to buy. Overall, Kona Brewing Hawaii Kai is still a great stop for good beer, tasty food, and unbeatable harbor views. A solid experience with just one small area for improvement. Highly recommended for anyone in the area!

Nice place right off the cove, the restaurant is very nicely decorated. There are tables on the porch over looking the water. Service was good, but not outstanding the food was brought quickly for our party of 7 and seated right away on a Friday night. I had the steak which had great presentation, but was overly tough and lacked in the flavor department. The garlic mashed potatoes were good and I substituted the seasonal veggies for white rice ( tried swapping for the Mexican rice but the cooks wouldn't allow it). The milkshake was terrible not really sure what was going on there but was flavorless and mostly ice and inconsistent not ice cream texture. My friend had the burrito to which he said was very good, probably because it had Mexican rice in it.... Most other had burgers of varies types with the overall opinion they were very good. Not an incredibly priced restaurant but be prepared to spend $30+min. Burger with 2 beers $38. Steak with a milkshake and dr pepper $56.
Allen A — Google review
How can you have a restaurant that serves $25 hamburgers, with NO FRECH FRIES ON THE MENU? WHO wants white rice with a burger? Oh and the chips the give you? Maybe Lays, but likely an off brand from Aldi's. I got chips and salsa on a Saturday dinner trip, and they were stale! No pride in their food. Beer obviously was good; the food? No bueno. Skip it. Oh and this is owned by a $59.77 billion dollar corporation.

Absolutely loved this place! We went there on Friday to check out the food and we also were able to partially see the fireworks that happen every Friday night at 7:45pm. We asked the staff to seat us with the best view and they did! Also the food was great, and we enjoyed their happy hour menu for drinks and food! We liked it so much, we came back on Saturday for some live music and salsa & bachata dancing 💃 All in all, great place for some socializing, dates, hangouts with friends and dancing on weekends!

This restaurant was really nice and the food was tasty. Our server was Hannah, she was super sweet and even told us about Taco Tuesday. We told her e were visiting for my birthday. Then she surprised us with a birthday, it was super kind! The quesabirria taco were delicious. The guac is a MUST HAVE. We would definitely come back.

We ordered several dishes and two cocktails, a Porn Star Martini and a Cosmopolitan. I was pleasantly surprised that both the bartender and the waiter knew this cocktail, because in many places in the United States they usually have no idea what a Porn Star Martini is. The drinks were perfectly balanced and beautifully served. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy, we chose to sit outside on the terrace, and it was a great choice. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly from start to finish, which really added to the experience. The food itself was fine, not bad at all but also nothing extraordinary. It was an overall good experience, not wow but definitely enjoyable. I would say it is a nice place for dinner and cocktails with friends if you want a relaxed evening and a lively atmosphere.

The food at Buho was fantastic. The guacamole was fresh, the chips perfectly crispy, and the fish tacos were juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The tropical, lively atmosphere of the restaurant made the meal even more enjoyable. From the moment Nikki greeted us, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She had the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, making us feel comfortable without being overbearing. Our drinks were always refilled before we even had to ask, and she checked in at just the right moments. What stood out most was her positive energy. She clearly enjoys what she does, and it shows. She made great recommendations, got every order right, and had such an effortless charm that made the whole experience memorable.

My husband and I loved Buho Cocina y Cantina so much we went twice just for the birria tacos! They were absolutely delicious — flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The rooftop atmosphere is great, though the service felt a bit disingenuous at times. The patio walls could use a scrubbing as well... Still, the food alone makes it worth a visit!

Nestled on a quaint, bustling lane near Ala Moana Center, Side Street Inn is the ultimate casual hangout for those craving American comfort food with a local twist. This beloved late-night sports bar has become a favorite among chefs and food enthusiasts alike, including renowned James Beard Award winner Alan Wong. With its unpretentious vibe and large shareable plates crafted by Chef Colin Nishida, diners can indulge in mouthwatering dishes like Hawaiian-style pulehu short ribs and crispy skin roast pork.
I love Side Street Inn for its delicious food, happy, attentive customer service, and valet parking service, which is so convenient! All the dishes we ordered were fast, generous, and yummy. Our waitress is a great young Chinese girl who brought a more joyful dinner to our table. She is lovely and very attentive. The dining room is a little dated, but the excellent food and service are more important to us. I’m sure I’ll be back next time when I’m in Honolulu.

Tasty dinner with great portions! It’s definitely meant to be family style but we ordered one meal for everyone and had a bunch of leftovers. The misoyaki chicken and yakisoba noodles were excellent and went really well together. It was busy at dinner time so I’d definitely recommend making reservations.

Okay okay, I know I drop a lot of food reviews, but this right here? Not for the weak. If you get one solid appetite and you’re a foodie like me, then brother/sister/uncle/auntie/grandma/grandpa — you found the spot. The grinds? Immaculate. The portion size? Polynesian approved. The quality? You can literally taste the love the chefs put into their cooking. I still haven’t sat down to eat inside (’cause I’m guilty of binging movies while smashing food), but every time I’ve gone in to order, the vibe is on point. They got a bar, music (sometimes even live from some awesome local artists), a pool table, and a generous space that feels like home. The employees? 100% guarantee they love what they do, and it shows. So if you come through Side Street Inn, come hungry — and don’t be stingy, tip the crew. They deserve it, and you’ll walk out happy every single time.

Took my hungry family to dinner at Side Street Inn Kapahulu. It was our 1st time and we ordered several dishes. Loved the family style service with large portions. I loved their famous pork chops, fried rice and farmers salad. The kalbi, garlic chicken, pork belly, edamame were all very tasty. Will definately be back soon.

When they say family style, they mean it! We got the Uncle Colin’s special and couldn’t even finish half of it with four people I had a peanut butter crunch to go and I’ve been thinking about going back soon just to get another one. Servers were attentive and bartenders know what they are doing!

Overall, our experience was just underwhelming. The food was just average at best. The quality definitely is mediocre. Pork chops were dry. Boneless Kalbi was tasty, but many of the pieces were tough and burnt. Garlic Chicken. The best dish of the night. Crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy inside. Full flavor. Chicken salad flavor was good, but chicken pieces were dry and hard.

Kani Ka Pila Grille is a popular poolside restaurant and bar located at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, offering a mix of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music performances by award-winning artists. With a diverse crowd of both locals and visitors, the venue creates an inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy island fare, drinks, and nightly live entertainment. The restaurant's name translates to 'impromptu jam session' in Hawaiian, reflecting its casual yet high-quality musical offerings.
Best place to hang out every evening! Sitting by the pool with live music playing every night creates the perfect vibe to unwind. The food is absolutely delicious with so many options to choose from—especially the poke bowls, which are hands down the best I’ve had! The drinks menu is impressive, with a great variety of cocktails that hit the spot. Highly recommended for a relaxed evening with friends, date nights, or just treating yourself!
Deepali S — Google review
Not exactly the sit-down restaurant vibe I expected—it’s more of a casual poolside setting with a family-friendly atmosphere. So if you're looking for something more intimate, just keep that in mind. That said, the food? Phenomenal. I was a little confused at first about how to order, but the bartender was super helpful and quickly sent over a server. We ordered the Maui Fish Sandwich and the Soft Shell Crab Sandwich—both were absolutely amazing. The fish was seasoned to perfection, and the soft shell crab gave full-on po' boy vibes: crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. I made a point to come back just for dessert and wow—the Pineapple Crème Brûlée is a must. The brûlée is served in a hollowed-out pineapple, and once you break through the caramelized top, you can scoop out the fresh pineapple underneath. It came with strawberries and whipped cream and was a beautiful, delicious experience. Definitely recommend for a laid-back lunch with great flavors and tropical vibes.

We’re staying at a different hotel but came to here for dinner tonight. Our server Jason was great! He was super nice & gave quick service. We ordered crispy spam handrolls (not pictured) which were tasty! For dinner, I got the build your own poke bowl & my husband got the Hawaii beef loco moco. My poke bowl was decent, but my husband really liked his food. There was live music which was nice. My only complaint would be the fact we waited 45 minutes for a table & when my husband went to check on our table, it sounded like they forgot about us. The hostess/waitress was very apologetic though.

Fish dinner and mushroom appetizer were good, steak was not. Server was nice and took care of the steak (I didn't eat it) and brought a birthday dessert! Live music was nice, guy with a guitar. Restaurant is oddly in between the hotel reception and the pool.

Everyday at 6pm, the place comes alive with live music—real hawaiian talent, not the usual cover band noise. You’ve got your choice of indoor or outdoor seating, but I always go for the outdoor. No happy hour deals here, but honestly, you’re not coming for the discounts. By dinner, it gets packed—elbow-to-elbow kind of packed—so come early if you want a decent spot. What keeps me coming back, though, is the live music and the breeze. It rolls in just right. Makes you forget whatever else you were carrying that day.

Cuckoo Coconuts is a lively outdoor Tiki dive with a retro theme, featuring local island artwork, natural foliage, and vibrant music. The place offers signature tropical cocktails and classic Hawaiian comfort food. Guests can enjoy the energetic performances of bands like The oldies n goodies while sipping on their drinks. Although dancing is not allowed, the band's engaging energy creates a fun atmosphere for patrons to enjoy.
Food and drinks are good, but can be a bit expensive. Great vibes, very classic bar feel. Very unfortunate about the dancing rule but I understand. Love!!!! The band, the food, the drinks. ...the perfect vibe for a night out. The teriyaki burger is excellent. Not soggy and overly sauced. Crispy golden curl fries. Great non alcoholic drink options, too. The band is fantastic and staff so nice. Love this spot.

When I saw this place from outside I couldn't wait to visit when it was open. It just looks so trendy. The tikis were great and it has much potential to be amazing but it lacks the minor details. The cocktails are expensive especially the fact the drinks come in plastic cups 🫤 it needs the extra touches to be a great tiki bar however the vibes were good. Live band had the crowd singing and there were a lot of people in there. There was a sign saying no dancing. We waited a while to be served which was a letdown too. But loved the decor. Wooden stools or chairs would look better with glasses for drinks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cuckoo Coconuts is an absolute blast! The cocktail selection is great – we had the “real pina colada” served in a pineapple. At $26 it’s on the pricey side, but the novelty and taste make it completely worth it. Live music was fantastic – the musicians had amazing rapport with the crowd and a great song selection. Bar staff were attentive and pleasant, and the overall vibe in the bar was lively and fun. Definitely a 5* spot for drinks and a good time!

Rachelle C — Google review
I really wanted to like Cuckoo’s, but our visit was pretty underwhelming from start to finish. My group of four chose it because we thought it would be a “safe” option for everyone, but it ended up being one of the weaker stops of the night. I love tiki drinks, and I was excited to try theirs, but the cocktails here just weren’t good — and that was the consensus from all four of us. On top of that, the prices were surprisingly high: $17+ for a drink served in a plastic cup. We walked five minutes to another bar afterward and had far better drinks for under $15, and the bartender there was actually warm and welcoming. The food at Cuckoo’s was… fine. Pretty basic options like burgers, hot dogs, and other “safe” items. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The live music was also just okay. It didn’t feel connected to the vibe of the bar at all — it was just standard classic rock covers you can hear at any spot on the strip. What made it stranger was the performers repeatedly telling the crowd to “dig deep into your pockets” for tips after every song, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Service wasn’t great either. We had to ask for water, which isn’t a huge deal, but the wait staff only came by once the entire time we were there, even though we could see them the whole time. Overall, Cuckoo’s was a pretty disappointing experience. With so many great bars in the area offering better drinks, better service, and better overall vibes, I probably wouldn’t go back. I’m also interested in what the owner will reply back to this comment, it seems like they don’t care if there are returning customers stating “we win some, we lose some”.

Murphy's Bar and Grill is a popular old-fashioned Irish pub in Honolulu that has been around since 1891. The pub is known for its hearty food, including beer and fish 'n' chips. With a lively party atmosphere, Murphy's is a great place to enjoy some drinks and good eats with friends.
Nice Irish pub in a historic building. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Food portions are large enough for two people to share. Their bread pudding is great too!

A great place for lunch whether it’s for business or pleasure. The help is genuinely pleasant to chat with and the food is fresh and delicious. Had the Shepherd’s pie and I highly recommend it. It was a delight to have gone there today. Pepe, my server, rocks !

Had the open face turkey sandwich and some beers. Food is pretty good, staff very friendly and it's a great spot for some sports and good vibes. Loved the shuffleboard as well

A magnificent place! We loved it there. Great drinks & food. My partner had developed blisters on her feet. The team immediately did everything they could to find a band-aid. Absolutely friendly there. We took a rest with cold beer and some food then. And there’s always time for a short chat.

A Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives location. My wife had the Irish Dip sandwich, and she inhaled it! I had the crispy spicy chicken wings, and they were delicious! Server and atmosphere were awesome!

The Veranda at The Kahala Hotel & Resort is an oceanfront retreat with luxury rooms and suites, offering a perfect blend of daytime leisure and nighttime pleasures. Surrounded by palm trees and manicured grounds, the upscale establishment provides a refreshing change with its Victorian architecture. Guests can enjoy high tea service on weekends, featuring various tea choices and island-influenced flavors in a beautiful location.
It turns out I’ve passed here many times and didn’t even think it was a restaurant)) I thought it was a hotel lobby 😬🤭 the service, everything was excellent, we were served by a charming woman (I don’t remember her name). She was very friendly to children. The food overall is not bad, but my fish was poorly cooked and was raw inside. We ordered tea and it was brought to us in beautiful dishes😍

Went for afternoon tea at the Veranda. It was an awesome experience. Free valet parking is always nice. The tea was wonderful and the food delicious. It is pricey for what feels like small portions but by the time we were through, we were all full. Everything we had was delicious. One standout was the live music. The musician helped set the atmosphere and made it such a wonderful event. He left while we were still there and the difference was noticeable. The Kahala is beautiful and after tea we went and watched the dolphins for a bit. It was an excellent experience.

I am so happy with the tea service at this location. The tea was phenomenal and their care and attention to my husband’s allergies was on point. They really made amazing substitutions to every item. The location was also a nice break from the city. Highly recommend stopping by!

I took my twin sisters & mom to The Veranda for afternoon high tea to celebrate my twin sisters birthday! We had a wonderful relaxing experience. The service was outstanding and it was a beautiful environment. Validated parking is good for four hours so you can walk around, relax, go to the beach!

Our world food tour continued … at The Veranda at The Kahala Resort. I come here when I’m staying in the hotel and want a light meal and music. This time it was a pre-Valentine’s dinner with my fellow foodie and we wanted to hear live music. We opted for seating outside and chose a table quite a way down from the entrance. This proved to be the nice, quiet spot we wanted but the music was background level at best. We started with a bottle of 2018 Stag’s Leap Hands of Time, a red blend from Napa. Dark, with a sense of prunes and raisins, it needed some time to open up. Accompanying the wine was the Charcuterie platter, a nice mix of cheeses, sliced meats and fruit with crackers and small squares of lavosh. We ordered the Foie Gras Musubi, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the Hawaiian Mushroom Flat bread with truffles. Service was leisurely (which was fine with us) but it took a long time for the flat bread to appear, I can’t say exactly, but it felt like an hour after the first dish arrived. The foie gras musubi was great, a little crunchy on the exterior, offset by the creamy foie gras … We always order anything with foie gras or truffles. The brussels sprouts were large and firm, with just the right amount of char; they were flavorful without losing the slight bitterness of cabbage. The flat bread was round like a pizza and I considered it to be a white mushroom pizza with a generous layer of black truffle; the scent of the shaved truffle was intoxicating and the taste matched the aroma; heavenly. We ended our meal with the Hoku’s Warm Chocolate Coulant and the Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Each was served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, these desserts didn’t live up to the rest of the meal. The pineapple cake was fine but not special; the warm chocolate coolant wasn’t warm and appeared dry. What did we think? The food and drink were fine with a few exceptions (dessert); service was very good though our server (Cenisaliza) seemed to have too many tables; the music was less than we expected. I will continue to patronize The Veranda when I stay at the hotel but will choose a table closer to the musician for a better overall experience.

For years we wanted to try this place. We finally did it, and had the breakfast buffet. We were expecting a lot more from this 5 star hotel. Very few choices. The food itself does not justify the $48 a person charge. The eggs Benedict and potatoes were dry, cold and tasteless. The omelet was very blend. The fresh fruit, aside from the pineapple and the papaya, had no flavor. The best two parts were the pancakes and our great server Andy. We left very disappointed and sad. We will never try their breakfast buffet again.
Jose C — Google review
Afternoon Tea time at no better place in Hawaii. Sit in the cool shade and watch the dolphins and people watch the pool. The 3 tiers of delight is heavenly and matches well with the delicious tea. I love to visit this property located in the Kahala Hotel at the end past Diamond Head.

Monkeypod Kitchen - Waikiki, located in the Koolina resort area on Oahu's west side, is renowned for its meticulous attention to detail in both its food and cocktail offerings. The menu features a blend of Hawaiian influences, such as house-baked sweet bread buns for the burgers and scratch-made crust for the pizzas.
We enjoyed our dinner, though my 5 year old had found hard bits (scales?bones?) in his fish so he wouldn’t finish his dinner, though it was very tasty. Our waitress was awesome and took care of it for us. The drinks were amazing. We enjoyed the lobster deviled eggs. Restaurant was clean, and had a nice atmosphere. I had booked reservations online and somehow though it gave me the correct address to go to, it booked us one of their restaurants on a whole other island! (So double check that if you reserve online). We were very excited about the pies. The strawberry was incredible. The coconut was boring and the chocolate was good but very rich. The pie crusts though were nothing to write home about, so HARD! I couldn’t even break through it with the spoon, you’d need a serrated knife. I would return, but would not get dessert next time.

We had a really great experience at Monkeypod in Honolulu! The tacos were tasty, and the burger was absolutely delicious. It’s a very family-friendly spot, and my wife and kids enjoyed it just as much as I did. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the restaurant has a beautiful ocean view. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the table we were seated at. There was a large pole blocking our view of the ocean, and when we asked to be moved, we were told no right away—even though another table had just opened. We would have happily waited for it to be cleaned and set so we could enjoy the view. That said, the food and vibe were excellent overall, and we’ll definitely be back.

We went to Monkeypod Kitchen at the Outrigger for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and located right by the ocean. You can enjoy a gorgeous sea view while you eat. If you avoid peak hours, you can usually get seated within about five minutes. Our waitress Daisy was so sweet, kind, attentive, and thoughtful. She really made our day special. We truly appreciated her warm service. The cheeseburger was amazing. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. Daisy recommended the banana cream pie and it was incredible! The fresh local bananas made it extra delicious. Everything about this place the food, the view, and the staff made our anniversary dinner perfect. Highly recommend! 🌺💛

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for our recent dining experience at your restaurant during our visit to the Outrigger Reef in Waikiki Beach. It was truly a memorable evening that my family and I will cherish. As the sun set over the ocean, we were delighted to have a lovely table right by the water. The ambiance was wonderful, creating the perfect backdrop for our family dinner. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals; they were nothing short of fabulous! Additionally, having our granddaughter with us made the occasion even more special. I must commend your staff for their kindness and attentiveness. The service was exemplary and added to the overall positive atmosphere of our evening. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, and we look forward to returning on our next visit. Thank you once again for such a delightful experience!

Absolutely need to eat here if/when you are in Waikiki! Not only was the food amazing and delicious but the service and atmosphere were great! This restaurant is literally right at the water’s edge. We were fortunate to sit right at the open window to Waikiki Beach- waves were gently rolling into the wall that was less than 2 feet from us. The sun had just set and we enjoyed the twilight’s glimmer across the water and boats off the coast. The service was spectacular from the engaging young lady that sat us to the attentive Eli who was our server. My wife enjoyed an extremely generous dish of Saimin- with great noodles in a delicious broth with fresh broccoli and tasty pulled pork (yes I cheated and couldn’t resist trying her her dish - and was glad I did!) The fresh fish (they get fresh local fish each day!) for the Macadamia Crusted fish was Hebi - which I had not had before - was very tasty. And the sauce with the fruit blend was perfect. We topped it off with a great chocolate cream pie (that they added just little Carmel sauce just under the crust - subtle but tasty add) Highly recommend you eat at the Monkeypod Kitchen Waikiki for a fabulous meal and amazing view/location. You will be glad you did!

A Lovely Spot: Monkey Pod I'm so glad I stumbled upon Monkey Pod! This cute restaurant has an AMAZING view, and the service is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and the manager is a rockstar! Try their Passionfruit Foam - it's a taste sensation! And, OMG, their Mahi-Mahi Burger is delish! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection... except for the soggy fries (just sayin'). We also tried the Jerk Chicken, which, unfortunately, needed a bit more cooking time. But the manager was super cool about it and gifted us a comp card to come back and try more dishes. We took them up on that offer and went back for potstickers, apps, and drinks - everything was yummy! Service was consistently great, and the atmosphere is just lovely. If I were you, I'd go for drinks, apps, and the Mahi-Mahi sandwich or burger - that's where they shine! Worth a visit! P.S. As for me, I prefer my Mai tai’s on the sweet, so Mai Tai cocktails at the Dukes or Mai Tai bars are still my fave!

Stopped in for a light lunch after walking around Waikīkī. Bulgogi tacos were flavorful and had a great fresh taste with the added jicama and jalapeño. The shrimp with the cornbread was decent. The bread dished up a little too much of the oily sauce, so mostly had to eat the top portion. Located right on the water, and the view of the surf and surfers was beautiful.

The kalua pork pineapple pizza was delicious. The Maitai was yummy, loved the foam on top. You needed it for the perfect blend. My boyfriend ordered the margarita pizza (which in my opinion was the wrong thing to order in general because I think that’s the most boring order ever, but he claims to like margarita pizza) but anyways, he said it was one of the worst executed margarita pizzas a he’s ever had. We also shared the bulgogi tacos which were flavorful. However, he has a sweet tooth and couldn’t make a decision which pie to get and we just went with the traditional banana crème. But the server was so sweet and brought us both the banana one and the orange one. And I loved the orange one. Definitely a cheesecake texture for the that one rather than pudding texture like the banana one.

Mai Tai's is a breezy, island-themed bar with a vast mixed-drink menu and regular live music. It offers an authentic Hawaiian ambiance with its beach locale and panoramic view of Diamond Head. The relaxed atmosphere and fantastic tropical drinks, especially the lush mai tai's, make for an ideal experience. The venue also provides food offerings and local entertainment in the evenings.
Great bar great happy hour. Staff were awesome. Food was awesome. Plenty of choice for food and drinks lots of comfortable seating lots of TV's showing sport and live music during happy hour. Had a great time there.

Travelling Aussies 🇦🇺 This is a fantastic bar on the upper level of the Ala Moana Centre - opposite California Pizza and Olive Garden Plenty of tables, a great breeze and with delicious Mai Tais 🍹 We ordered coconut shrimp and calamari to enjoy with our drinks and both dishes were fantastic Highly recommended for a quiet drink during the day or a lively venue in the evenings The only thing that would have made our visit even better, would be the installation of a number of large ceiling fans. The existing wall mounted fans are too few and too loud 👍

We decided on having some cocktails before a late lunch and attending the Lantern Floating Festival. The bar was packed on this Memorial Day at 3pm. We found some seats in the corner. Took a while for the female server to come to our table but the place was hopping so it was all good. ATMOSPHERE: Located on the 4th level of Ala Moana Center, Mai Tai Bar is like sitting in someone's open-air living room, with sofas and coffee tables on the perimeter, cool high-top tables that wrap around the support pillars, regular high-tops, and of course bar seating. The sofa seating is in the style of old Hawaii style, with the big square cushions and wide arm rests, which is retro cool. Entertainment depends on the date & time. They had basketball playing on the TV and loudspeakers. Yawn. BEVERAGE: Stella Artois Love that they have the option of a pitcher, which is about 3 1/2 glasses. Mixed Drinks Avoid, as the few I had were watered down. FOOD: Chicken Wings These were delish! Got it done spicy which wasn't very spicy at all, meaning it has lots of flavor but doesn't burn the taste buds off of your tongue which is what I love. SERVICE: Once our service started, it never stopped. She took great care of us, constantly checking up and making sure our drinks were filled. OVERALL: Atmosphere is great, as long as its not overly-crowded which it can get especially at night.
Maui T — Google review
Mai Tai’s has all the elements to be a really great establishment but instead they lean on “ambiance” instead of prioritizing quality service and food that justifies their prices. The fish tacos, should be renamed “Cole Slaw Tacos” as they only feature a sliver of fish, which can hardly explain the $22 dollar price tag. Even during mid-day the service is often slow, and you definitely have to “catch” your server. We asked for Mayo and Mustard for the cheeseburger but after over 30 minutes, we lost hope it would ever come and it infact did not. It also seems they have no organization on how to match orders to tables, with the runner often having to go to multiple tables to find out who the food belongs to. It also may be helpful to the servers if there were dedicated bussers, tables are often left with drinks and plates from prior customers. All in all this is a great place for drinks and fun after 9pm. But lower your expectations if you are expecting anything but subpar service and strategically overpriced foods. My advice? Eat somewhere else grab drinks here.

Had a large group event at Mai Tai's Grill & Bar on a Monday during happy hour (4pm-7pm). It's located on the 4th floor, open air style. HH included $10.00 USD specialty drinks, $2.00 off beer pints and 50% off 6 food options. Live music was enjoyable (musician did two sets), plenty of TV's showing hockey and football. Favourite drink was the lychee sunset, but tried several others. The food wasn't particularly memorable; chicken quesadilla ($10.00 USD), French fries ($6.00 USD), edamame ($6.00 USD), garlic shrimp ($12.00 USD), chips & salsa ($5.50 USD) and pepperoni pizza ($7.50 USD).
J — Google review
Great space to get happy hour drinks as the certain cocktails are only $10 each. If you enjoy watching sports, there are several screens broadcasting different sports. Service was great but felt a little pushy as the waitress checked up on us too many times over the hour that we were there asking whether we wanted more drinks when we weren’t close to finishing our current drinks. Overall, it was a good place to sit down at the mall. This is located at the top level.

Lava Tube is a Hawaiian restaurant with vibrant decor and locally sourced dishes. While it may not be considered high-class dining, it offers a friendly atmosphere and generous happy hour specials. The menu features a variety of affordable options like Loco Moco and Lau Lau Plate. The interior has neon colors and Hawaiian volcano wallpaper, but some visitors wish for a more immersive jungle theme. Despite this, the place is known for its strong Mai Tais and well-cooked Mahi Mahi salad.

Great Vibes & Friendly Staff Fun Spot to Check Out! We had a great time at Lava Tube! The atmosphere is super fun—laid-back island vibes, cool decor, and a great place to chill whether you're grabbing a drink or just soaking up the Waikiki energy. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made the experience stand out. While the food wasn’t the greatest we had on the island, it was still decent and served quickly. This spot is more about the casual hangout experience than fine dining, and for that, it absolutely delivers. If you’re looking for a relaxed, local feeling spot with good drinks and good energy, Lava Tube is worth a visit.

Real Pina Colada price included tax almost 30$ before 18% tip was the highest price I ever paid for the same drink in luxury hotel bar in Asia. It was Good! Mai Tai was not standard Mai Tai that you got in 5 stars high end bars or 5 stars hotel's bar in Asia,,it was like long Island (black tea+alcohol +juice syrup)Not recommend. The snacks were good... deep fried but golden. Only 2 staffs in this place.

But if you're looking for a generous happy hour of strong Mai Tais, tasty house made rubbed fried fish and the biggest Aloha welcome from owner Sascha, then you will see me here 2 times, which is exactly how many times I stopped in during my visit. Last time with family and they had a blast. Kitchy, friendly, fun and honestly, even outside the fried food, their Mahi Mahi salad was well cooked, big portion on veggies. Oh PS, you won't find another place with a well priced pina colada made from fresh pineapple and served in it. I paid $11 more at a hotel and got colada mix. Thank you Sascha and team for the warm welcome!

Island Vintage Wine Bar is a wine bar located in the Royal Hawaiian Center that offers a variety of organic and biodynamic wines. The wine bar has a smaller selection than other wine bars on the island, but it is worth dining in for its tranquil dining room and lush foliage.
The most delicious food!! Service is pretty good, they are very busy so when we sat at the bar for drinks and dinner, we did not see the bartender very much, but when we were seated at the table for breakfast the next day, our waiter was attentive and very nice. Their guava and lilikoi mimosas were so delicious and the açaí bowl was so good as well! They have a whole gluten free menu with recommended substitutions for their whole menu for gluten free customers.

We stopped by for breakfast and decided to try their famous açaí bowl. It was my first time having one, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect—but it turned out to be really good! The flavor was rich and refreshing. The staff were super friendly and recommended going with the original flavor for first-timers. I didn’t realize the original size was actually bigger than the other flavors, so I couldn’t finish it. Unfortunately, it was our last day before heading to the airport, so I couldn’t take it to go. Such a shame! Looking forward to my next Hawaii trip and definitely more açaí bowls!

Located right next to the always-busy Island Vintage Coffee in Waikiki is the Island Vintage Wine Bar. It offers the same food menu as the cafe, but you can also order alcoholic beverages. It's usually a bit easier to get a reservation here. I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a drink and have a more relaxed meal. I've been a few times, and this visit was for lunch. While the prices feel a bit high, that's just the reality of Waikiki. This is really a place you go to enjoy the atmosphere more than the food itself. The drink I ordered came in a to-go cup, which was a bit disappointing. I think it would be more fun to come in the evening and enjoy some food while trying different wines.

Island Vintage Wine Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Center (2301 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI) truly deserves five stars. From the moment we arrived, the hostess greeted us with such kindness and professionalism, and our server went above and beyond, carefully explaining the menu, checking on us often, and making sure we felt taken care of throughout the experience. The coffee was incredibly fresh, and the food exceeded our expectations. It was healthy, flavorful, and served in generous portions. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, which was rich and perfectly balanced, while my husband enjoyed the Gluten Free Coconut Toast Breakfast that was both wholesome and delicious. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. This place has it all — wine, cocktails, specialty coffee, fresh food, and even desserts. You can also shop for beautiful mugs, local Hawaiian coffee, and souvenirs to take a piece of the island home with you. We were seated by a lovely window with a view of lush trees, which made the atmosphere even more relaxing and beautiful. Prices were very reasonable for the quality, service, and location. Everything arrived right on time, and the experience felt seamless from start to finish. If you are visiting Waikiki, I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, or even a casual evening with a glass of wine. Great food, warm service, a beautiful view, and an overall experience that makes you want to return again and again.

Had dinner last night and it was great all the way around. The food is creative, fresh, delicious and the menu is huge. They also serve breakfast all day if that is your thing. We had a seafood cioppino type dish and chose to add the garlic noodles. It was so good and it came with the most delicious, fresh garlic bread you can imagine. We also ordered a lettuce wrapped wagyo burger and it came with sweet potato fries and a very delicious sauce. I asked the waiter if we could have regular fries instead and he happily did so even though I snuck few of the sweet potato fries. I thought this place was a wine bar with a light menu but boy was I wrong. The ladies next to our table were going nuts over their dishes too and we chatted and they wanted us to try derp fried eggplant spears that they could not finish. They were crazy delicious in a spectacular sauce. Honestly, this is a hidden gem in the Royal Hawaiian shopping mall and it is so worth going to!!!

Go here on second Friday. I wouldn’t say the cocktails or service are standout but the vibe and atmosphere of this place feels like a muted, dark, soulful and renaissance mashup of a dive and a lounge. This musician’s voice was so unexpected and sultry that I had to follow up and do a deep dive into who he was. Instant lifelong fan, 11/10 highly recommend if for nothing but the music scene alone! Also they serve coffee during daytime business hours.

Great atmosphere. People doing karaoke and having a blast. Everyone seemed friendly. Good priced drinks good bartender. Most importantly has ac and it's nice and cool inside. Great place

A solid place for cocktails at night or coffee drinks in the day hours. I came here with friends looking for a last round before the night ended and Manifest delivered on point drinks in a wonderful industrial/brick environment. Just know they do card you at the door and no happy hour.

Great spot with excellent drinks. Live music is a huge plus. The Irish coffee is so delicious and they can make it vegan!

Manifest is conveniently located in the Arts District/Chinatown Honolulu and is the best of its kind. During the evening, it is a cocktail bar & night club, and during the day it's a cafe with delicious coffee & breakfast menu and lots of working space. I love the atmosphere of both, and recommend to try this gem out if you haven't already!

Live music venue
The Republik is a vibrant nightclub and concert venue on Oahu, known for its energetic atmosphere and live performances by both local and touring artists. The venue offers an open, general-admission setting where guests can enjoy live bands and performances. Additionally, it features a dedicated concert hall as well as an adjoining lounge called Safehouse, offering handcrafted cocktails and small plates for a sophisticated retreat from the shows.
Came here for the Dashboard Confessional show. Venue is located on the second level of the building. Prior to attending I read how there were previous problems with security. That was not the case for our experience. The security team was amazing for this event. Sound was okay. There were some moments where clarity was an issue but really it wasn’t that bad. I will agree with some reviews that the place does get hot as the night goes on, but you’re at a packed concert venue, in Hawaii, where bodies are all crammed to see a show. What do you expect. All in all, we’ll attend shows at this venue again. Only big downfall is parking as it’s non-existent here, aside from the mall across the street. So rideshare might be your best bet to get here.
Jakob Z — Google review
Although good, it could be great if it wasn't for those pillars that block your open view of the concert. Staff were very friendly, smooth processes to allow you in, and very little to no wait time to order a drink. How to avoid the pillars? Get there early! We had a great time!

I had an awesome night at Emo night. Great music. A ton of fun people in the crowd. The nosh pit was going all night.
Kris H — Google review
I was caught with an outside drink (a High Noon). Fair enough, but security handled it very poorly. I was immediately escorted out and had my band cut. Then I was questioned and shamed publicly. I understand confiscating the drink or a stern conversation, but to evict me for this was an extreme reaction. It ruined the night for me and my group. On other visits I have seen contraband (tapes, lighters etc) be confiscated. Security is inconsistent at best and overzealous at worst. We will not be returning.

I don’t typically feel inclined to leave reviews but the republik deserves one. As mentioned in a lot of reviews security/staff are terrible. From the second I was even outside waiting in line they were snapping at people and treating people poorly, getting my wristband same thing.. security guard was very rude. Inside the venue it just gets worse. Think the republic of panem and hunger games.. security was pushing into people on the dance floor and bullying for no reason. Energy was so bad I threw away a half full beer and left after 30 minutes, didn’t even wait around for the main act after paying $45 for a ticket. If you want fun, go to Hawaiian Brian’s, not here. I will never patronize this place again no matter who’s playing.

Attended an event last night, ended up leaving early. As soon as me and my wife got in we tried to go to the bathroom and before we even walked in a security guard stopped her from going in because people “might think she’s a man”. She had to wait outside of the bathroom for me and he approached her again to say “you get what i’m saying, no hard feelings”. ABSOLUTELY INSANEEEE to me. i didn’t know you had to be feminine presenting female to use the women’s bathroom. we’ve never had this issue before and im honestly disgusted. i asked one of the bartenders if i could speak to a manager and she asked what the situation was, i told her and she said she would grab the manager and have them radio security. i waited where she told me to for 10 minutes and she never came back with the manager. VERY VERY poor performance from staff, management and security.
Kadince V — Google review
We went to the Republik to see BTSM during our trip to Hawaii. Headliner came on at midnight, not 10pm as another review had said. They'd definitely painted the front and upscaled a little since the last set of pictures so I decided to write this review. This show was a quaint home away from home rave scene. I can't say how it is for other types of shows, but for an edm show the community here could throw down. There were glovers and ravers and Kandi, a handful of bros but not many. The security was thorough, and tbh I would feel safer if they had the same security at some of the bigger shows and venues I've been to, so I give them mad props for that. The dudes at the door had a metal detector wand and everything. Security was actively looking out for people in trouble and did an amazing job. It was a SMALL venue, which gave it those cozy vibes. There was no sitting room, whatsoever, and the crowd was a little thin that night, so it didn't feel packed. I would definitely recommend buying your tickets early online and not paying day of for tickets though. The women's bathroom was clean and even had an attendant setup with body sprays and deodorants and things. Can't say if that there is every show, but it shows that they care. It was a lot of fun to visit the Republik, and I would go back in a heartbeat. 🥰❤️👍

Emo Nite. Doors opened late, no big deal. But we went in at 9 and the music is supposed to start at 9. It’s emo nite why did they only play Hawaiian music for an hour straight. We left at 10 because we wasted 2 hours standing in place and never once heard any emo music. Literally while we waited they only played Hawaiian (nothing wrong with it) besides the fact they could’ve been playing multiple genres while we waited on whom ever to Dj. First and worst experience.

Sports bar
AnyPlace Cocktail Lounge has recently moved to a larger space, but the old Hawaiian and Western saloon vibe remains intact. It's a casual sports bar where you can enjoy Hawaiian bar food and watch games with friends. The atmosphere is laid-back, making it a popular spot for locals to gather. The menu offers tasty options like fish tofu patties and generous portions of fish and chips.
Breezed into this comfortable place. Air conditioned, retro-loungy, local beers, good bites. Spicy chicken bowl was delicious with a cold pint of Longboard. Anyplace is a recommended place.

This whole in the wall lounge offers good local bar food. Tater Tots, the fish was excellent. They have something for every type of diet. The night I went was a sold out crowd because of the live music. You could tell there were regulars in the crowd. They servers were the best. They were so kind with all the chaos of the eaters. Definitely worth going to.

Update - Anyplace is still my go to for getting together with friends in Moiliili. Sensei liked the Kalbi, fried rice and Chinese chicken salad. Got to try pork chop 👍🏼, fried chicken gizzard, and a few other things on the menu with a large group. Spam and egg sandwich, Kalbi and fried rice are still my go to choices but the pork chop was also delicious. Went well with pitchers of Longboard and UH hoops on TV 🤙🏼. Local staff is good too. Great pupus - local style spam and egg sandwich, kalbi, fried rice. Lot of folks like to sing karaoke. not my thing but it's a good time. maybe best bar food in America.

One of the best old school neighborhood bar/food places you are going to find. Chili water as a side compliment and a bucket of ice with awesome service and delicious food.
Vince L — Google review
A chill sports bar with Hawaiian bar food for your next pau hana. The place is no frills, casual place to get together with friends and watch the game. They also show UH games if they're on. I liked the vibe so I came two times in one week. If you don't drink, my favorite is the virgin strawberry margarita with li hing powder on the rim of the glass, paired with fish tofu patties. I had the poke but it's not my favorite. The fish and chips were super generous. The downside is the extremely limited parking. The free parking lot could accommodate probably less than 10 cars and the rest would need to find street parking (which is also hard since it's close-ish to town by a busy road)
Amalina A — Google review
Did a very last minute catering order just yesterday for ten people with little more than 24 hours notice and Anyplace was gracious about it! The food was very much enjoyed (chopped salad, fried rice, chicken katsu, kal bi) by everyone at our get together and they asked where we picked up from. Have loved Anyplace since the turn of the century (haha) for the food and vibes at a great price. You'll see everyone from all generations here, watching the game, singing karaoke, or chilling to professional musicians while downing green bottles, local beers, mango li-hing margaritas, jager cold brew coffees, or iichikos between shoveling ono as hell obachan's chicken and super duper combos into their gullets. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. In 2015, some local chefs brought Anthony Bourdain and his Parts Unknown crew here to hang out with friends after filming at the now-closed and sorely missed Ethel's Grill, and many from that group returned later as a watch party for the Hawaii episode when it premiered.

8/2023 Despite post Covid challenges, so far, so good. They've persevered with consistency and Aloha. In the new McCully location, the food is as good as ever. I like the much roomier space for them to spread even more. Aloha. The prices are right, they've added a good happy hour, and yes, the food still onolicious. We just had a reunion here, and so did another group. Parking can be challenging when busy, but so are all places that are busy. There's a pay parking lot across the street that's convenient. They've recently added entertainment as well on certain nights. May be my new go-to. 😉🤙✌️ 9/2023 They've got periodic entertainment, too! 2 Big Hawaiians! 😉💪🤙✌️

The Brewseum is a one-of-a-kind destination in Honolulu that seamlessly blends the charm of a microbrewery with the rich history of World War II. This vibrant watering hole showcases an impressive collection of memorabilia, including model planes and even a vintage jeep, making it perfect for photo opportunities. Guests can enjoy a selection of craft beers on tap, alongside bottled options, all while munching on complimentary popcorn or indulging in tasty snacks like soft pretzels and pizzas.
I love the decor in this place. It is like walking into an aviation museum. There is an actual small museum next door. 6 beers on tap with a whole range of cans and bottles. Make sure you try their brews before you try the rest. Great place for photos as well. You can jump in the Jeep and props (helmets, sailor hats) are available as well. Food is available as well.

People who say the islands do not have a good brewery have obviously not been here! This is legit! If you are trying to find a beer that actually tastes like the style it was meant to be brewed in you will love this place! The place is super small in terms of Barrel Capacity which means your favorite beer will probably be gone in a week or two but you will find something else you like almost guaranteed! PS - The service was great as well

Awesome place to hang out with friends. Great service and reasonable prices for local brews. On Thursday they play Battleship Bingo and give out prizes when you are the first to sink a ship (battleship, cruiser, destroyer, submarine or aircraft carrier). Last man/woman standing that has at least one ship not sunk also gets a good prize. The MC for the bingo game made the game interesting and interactive 😎 Off the beaten path but well worth it. Go on Monday, Wednesday or Friday and take the museum tour!

Such a solid spot! History buffs, cocktail lovers, and craft beer fans unite. There’s a little something for everyone. Part interactive WWII museum where they encourage you to pick up piece up, sit on and wear pieces of history, part speakeasy, part brewery. They also do battleship and trivia! It’s a must to check out- for locals and visitors alike. The individuals who run it, the Tomlinson’s, are such sweet people. Their love for the era and drive to keep this part of important world history alive is incredible. Go check it out- you won’t be disappointed l.

The Dragon Upstairs is a cozy jazz club located above Hank's Cafe in Honolulu, Hawaii. Unlike the polished and spacious Blue Note, this venue exudes the character of Chinatown with its dark, quirky decor. It hosts a diverse lineup of acts including jazz performances by local artists like Dae Han and regular bands such as the Chris Yeh Quartet and Gypsy 808. The intimate setting makes it a popular spot for live music enthusiasts seeking a more personal experience.
I heard they're starting up Latin nights on Wednesday! With like a free dance lesson, it was actually pretty fun. Learned a little bit of salsa and bachata, enough to enjoy the night dancing. It was all free too. Just showed up, danced, just had to pay for drinks. I think they have themes. Cuz every was pretty much wearing black and red. Didn't try the food but next time they latin night I will.

This place has a vibrant atmosphere. The wall decor is bold and interesting. The staff is very friendly and polite. At night they have live music performed by local artists. However, they should work on their accoustics as it gets very loud an indistinguishable at some point. So be prepared for that.

My favorite place in Chinatown. You think you’re in a dive bar with all of the old timers and then if you know you go upstairs to this underground turntable centric party spot with top shelf, juice, bar drinks and some affordable drinks too. It’s definitely my go to.

This bar has a jazz New Orleans feel to it and the location makes you feel like you're in an exclusive bar upstairs away from the street. If you come at the right time you can see the live band play some great music while you relax with your friends. When there is a band make sure to bring something for them. The bar has a cover charge when a live band is playing. Its not a lot and its supporting the local talent. A few negatives though. The bar is upstairs so that hinders handy capable people or people not very good with stairs. The bathrooms are small and only meant for one person at a time. Male and female bathrooms. If you want or care about beer on tap, they don't have any. But they do have bottles and an good assortment of liquors. Both a negative and a positive, there is a good amount of parking down the street. but it is paid parking. So keep that in your budget or get a ride. But I would definitely recommend this bar. But I like the grunge New Orleans look. Mr. Carlyle

Truly a jazzy little gem of Honolulu. I visited for the first time for a group of artists from Philadelphia (friends were playing) and I was swept away with the whole vibe of the place. It really attracts those people who enjoy an authentic and cultured experience. I think they do a weekly hip hop night too which I got to catch a glimpse of some freestyling, which was beautiful watching each artist flow together with the music. Highly recommend. Smaller liquor selection and it is an intimate venue but it's surely worth the compromise.

The Green Lady Cocktail Room is a must-visit spot on the Honolulu revival bar crawl. It offers a unique cocktail experience with an impressive variety of amaros, liqueurs, bitters, and syrups. The bar's speakeasy-esque vibe, hidden entrance, and outdoor area create a welcoming atmosphere. The bartenders are passionate about crafting well-balanced drinks and offer an extensive selection of absinthe served traditionally.
Great cocktail bar hidden inside the local hotel here. Speakeasy vibe with dark lighting, plenty of outdoor seating, and a DJ sometimes. The eccentric drinks were weird. You definitely won’t ever taste those anywhere else. Martinis were good overall. Vodka one tasted a bit more vermouth like and not as strong, but still excellent. Hidden gem!

My first time at this cocktail bar was spot on. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Jenn, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I asked for her recommendations on the most spirit-forward cocktails, and she truly delivered. I was a little hesitant at first when she suggested their twists on the classic Old Fashioned and Manhattan, as you can get those almost anywhere. But I am so glad I trusted her. The drinks were expertly crafted and absolutely delicious. Jenn and I got to talking, and she told me all about the bar's inspiration from a place in Japan and the whole atmosphere felt so warm and homey. You could tell the staff genuinely enjoyed working together, which made the experience even better. It’s rare to find a place that feels this welcoming, and I’m so happy I found this hidden gem. Met some friends here for a drink on a quick 72 hr trip to Honolulu. The bar itself is in a non descript area but that is far from the establishment itself. They have a wall of vinyl where they play a wonderful assortment of music on McIntosh players. An impressive assortment of whisky and other drinks are also on display but the best part is picking which one you would like to drink. Reservations are a must. The place is intimate and laid back. If you don't book ahead of time you likely won't get a seat. Fortunately parking there was no problem. The EP's speakeasy vibe was overall great. I would highly recommend making a stop here if you want a grab a drink and chill in town.

My family and I were on vacation on Oahu and one thing my husband and I love to do, is find the local speakeasy’s and Tiki bars. We are not big on the common tourist spots, so we spend a lot of time looking up local places off the beaten path! This was a GEM! We brought my parents here and my dad got the nickname “diet coke guy”. He is not a drinker, but enjoys checking out places like this and he eats! From making a reservation, to the food and drinks, our experience was amazing. You do have to contact them in advance for a reservation, give yourself at least 3 days in advance. This is normal for many speakeasy’s due to the smaller spaces and the service. The food and drinks were amazing. We had the opportunity to talk to the owner, Dave Newman and learn more about Pint and Jigger, as well as Harry’s. He was even kind enough to share other local places for us to check out. If you are ever in the Honolulu area, make sure you stop by both Pint and Jigger as well as Harry’s Hardware Emporium!

The service is top notch, and if you are so lucky to meet the Owner Dave, you will be in for a treat on his skill and knowledge of spirits. Located in an inconspicuous office building, Pre-Storage is reminiscent of Japan but with a distinct Hawaiian atmosphere. Tucked away from the main thoroughfares, this karaoke establishment offers private rental rooms and a small bar area. A hidden gem owned by Japanese proprietors, it serves refreshing fruit sours and chu-his (shochu highballs), providing an authentic taste of Japan. The attentive service even includes being escorted out upon departure and receiving complimentary water bottles for your journey.
Cozy bar in Moiliili serving up some damn good drinks and food. The lemon sour is a must, as is the uni pasta. Nice selection of Japanese whisky and friendly bartenders. If your plans include karaoke there’s two rooms here for groups small and big. Check ‘em out. Lots of parking too.

You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the outside, but this is a super trendy Japanese bar. The service was attentive and polite and the drinks were great. Highly recommend the lemon sour.

By far the most inventive in menu, original in drinks, & thoughtful in experience. Highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) After eating at a restaurant next door, a nice young man approached me and asked me if I could have a drink since a new restaurant had opened next door, so I stopped by. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the staff were all Japanese, so even though I can't speak English, I was able to enjoy my time with peace of mind! Since it was after a meal, I only ordered a few snacks, but there were many stylish snacks that were delicious. There is a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, and the lemon sour and umeboshi sour were excellent! ! I was able to make friends with a Hawaiian person who is a regular customer and speaks good Japanese, which was a great experience! We had a great time at karaoke, but since the hotel we were staying at was in Waikiki, it felt a little far away on the way home, so I gave it a 4 rating. lol I would like to visit you guys again when I go to Hawaii.
