Fine dining restaurant
Orchids is a popular restaurant located in the Halekulani resort, offering a global menu and a renowned Sunday brunch. The elegant space is adorned with the namesake flower, creating a casually sophisticated atmosphere. With louvered walls open to refreshing breezes and colorful orchid displays, Orchids provides an inviting setting for diners.
WOW. This restaurant exceeded our expectations in all aspects - food, service, and atmosphere. My beef cheeks dish (one of my favorite things to order when I see it on a menu) was just divine, as were the meals selected by my friends. The presentation - beautiful. The view of the coast at sunset was just magnificent and the service was top notch - they even gladly took pictures of us on the lawn just next to the tables. Highly recommend this restaurant for an all around fantastic experience.
Krista B — Google review
Beautiful atmosphere adjacent to the lawn and ocean at House Without a Key with Diamond Head in the background. The Hawaiian music can be heard and really makes you feel in the vacation mood. My food was delicious and the service was attentive. The fish and pasta were tasty. As always, the coconut cake at any of the Halekulani venues is amazing.
Scott S — Google review
The backdrop of the ocean with a nice sea breeze sets this place apart from many of the fine dining places in Honolulu. Although there are many sets, the noise level was manageable. There was a nice band playing in the background. The drinks, including the non-alcoholic mint mango were wonderful. My husband even got the mint mago because he loved it so much, and he typically sticks to cocktails when we are out. The goat cheese salad was pretty standard and okay. The hamachi was fresh and had a good amount of acidity. The lasagnette was good, but if I came back, I am unsure if I'd order it again. The seabass and beef tenderloin were well-cooked and enjoyable. Lastly, the hazelnut dessert was well-balanced and delightful.

We've had dinner at Orchids many times, but haven't been back to Hawaii in three years. We had their famous Sunday buffet brunch and dinner on our last night and it was absolutely superb...just as we had remembered! Their seafood is always consistently fresh and prepared masterfully! Highly, highly recommended. Make reservations and ask for ocean-side seating. The amazing food, ambience, gentle tropical breeze, and stunning sunset will make for a truly memorable evening!

Orchids was one of the best restaurants we experienced during our recent stay in Honolulu. The food was excellent as we'd expect for the price tag, but the service is what made Orchids stand out. From beginning to end, the staff were helpful, kind, and went above and beyond to make the meal feel special. 5/5 would come back next time we're in town.
Jeremy Y — Google review
I went there for my birthday 🎂 The food was super fresh, though I have to say 🤔 the taste was just okay, nothing mind-blowing. What really made the visit special was how kind the staff were ☺️ They helped me take a bunch of sunset photos. And the birthday cake at the end? Definitely hit the spot 😋 If you want somewhere chill with good vibes and friendly people, this is a solid pick :)
Chloe — Google review
For me, the most heavenly place in all of Hawaii. Scenery, Menu - flawless. The Short Rib Ravioli, Hamachi and the Halekulani Coconut Cake is exceptional. Thank you to Scott, for making the whole night so memorable.
Zoe M — Google review
EXCEPTIONAL! Orchids delivers pure elegance with outstanding quality, flavor, and presentation. The service is impeccable—attentive yet unhurried—complemented by a stunning atmosphere and breathtaking views. The Beef Cheek, Tako (Octopus), and Short Rib Ravioli were extraordinarily tender, and the bread and coconut cake were simply divine. Kudos to the talented chefs for their expertise and commitment to quality ingredients; it is rare and deeply appreciated! The staff made my 45th birthday unforgettable, creating the best dining experience of my life. I’d give 100 stars if I could. Special thanks to Nikolas for his mastery and warmth. Every member of the team — Nikolas, Joey, the hostess, our valets, & so many others — radiated excellence and joy. I’ll cherish this memory for years and absolutely plan to return for all future birthdays. Mahalo nui loa! Tips: Enjoy live jazz at Lewers Lounge post-dinner, and ask staff to snap a photo with Lē’ahi (Diamond Head) as your stunning backdrop.

Plumeria Beach House is a casual yet upscale restaurant located within the Kahala Hotel & Resort, offering stunning ocean views and a delightful dining experience. The open-air terrace allows guests to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while indulging in a delectable brunch buffet or ordering from an extensive menu featuring dishes like sweet butter-poached lobster benedict, island-style avocado toast, and mochi waffles.
We went there yesterday to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Our reservation was at 5pm and we were seated promptly. We had the dinner buffet. Great variety of food and dishes were replenished quickly as needed. Our favorite was the snow crab legs, bok choy and prime rib. You have to try their bread pudding. It was one of the best that I've had. Our server Brad was awesome. Very attentive to our needs. He took a picture of us while dining and also offered to take a picture of us outside on our way out. The property was beautiful and views spectacular. Highly recommend.
Fern B — Google review
We had one of the best breakfast buffets ever at the Plumeria Beach House within the Kahala Hotel. The service was great, the views are incredible, and the breakfast spread was outstanding. If you're looking to treat yourself for breakfast, this place is highly recommended.
A R — Google review
Everything was incredible, every bite was perfection. The crab was sweet , and fresh, the sushi was incredible, the grounds are breathtaking. The dolphins are so cute and healthy. Very well cared for. The only thing is I wish the buffet was bigger. The selection was relatively small.
Only T — Google review
Pretty views with indoor and outdoor seating and reasonably comprehensive lunch menu. Friendly staff and efficient service. The chicken on my Chicken Caesar was a bit dry on the outside but the romaine lettuce was well dressed so that helped moisten it.
Llewellyn S — Google review
I'm guessing we went at a wrong time. Not impressed with their breakfast buffet, not at all. The selection was bad. Didn't get my money's worth. We'll try lunch or dinner and update. But a nice view.. some servers were nice, a couple ladies were not really. Overall, nothing special that worth coming back for a breakfast buffet.
Chamsy — Google review
After our elopement in Hawaii, we reserved a lunch at The Plumeria Beach House to celebrate, noting the occasion in our OpenTable reservation. While the message didn’t seem to make it through, the moment the staff overheard us talking about our wedding, everything changed—they came by one by one to offer congratulations and even surprised us with a sweet little cake to celebrate. It was such a kind, genuine gesture that made our day feel even more special. We both ordered seafood dishes and they were incredible—so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive without being overwhelming. And the setting? Absolutely stunning. Open-air dining with ocean views right from our table, with the beach just steps away. We took a walk down to the water while waiting for our drinks, and it felt like something out of a dream. This place is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. We’ll remember that lunch forever.
Elana H — Google review
Dinner at Plumeria Beach House was a standout. The fried ahi poke musubi was crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. The Crispy Wok Fried Prawns were perfectly cooked, and the chicken fat rice was rich, fragrant, and addictive. A classic Mai Tai tied it all together — smooth, strong, and tropical. Amazing food with an unforgettable view.
Patrik N — Google review
This place is all about the location if you want to eat overlooking the ocean, with well manicured greenery around. The views, breeze and the experience are all spectacular. You'll leave this place smiling and unfortunately for us it wasn't the food that did it. The food is super average for vegetarians. The grain bowl I had was just palatable. The burger was the same. For this location, I wish they gave a bit more attention to their food. The service and the staff were super friendly and attentive.

Kai Market is a spacious restaurant located in the Sheraton Waikiki, offering market-fresh buffet options with views of Waikiki Beach. The establishment serves daily breakfast in a relaxed indoor or outdoor setting, overlooking the expansive ocean and the pool's edge. Guests can enjoy the Island Breakfast Buffet to start their day in Hawaii. The restaurant also offers dinner with a variety of smorgasbord options.
As an Ambassador, our continental breakfast was pretty ordinary, but all the servers tried to accommodate our preferences... It'd be unfair to not mention my special girls, Taylor and Trish, who provided the best experience for me at breakfast. All servers were great! I miss them greatly! The view is good...
Alexandra A — Google review
Pricey yes but the portions are good and it's convenient being on site of the hotel. Our server Dana was very sweet and helpful. I tried the Acai Bowl and my husband got the eggs, potatoes and sausage. Everything tasted fresh and came out very quickly. We went there about a half hour before closing and it was fairly empty. So if you are looking to avoid the rush and crowds, around 9:30 to10am is a good time.

It's great to have breakfast here, right next to the beach and enjoy a delicious breakfast while looking at the sea! I ordered Ube waffle, it was so delicious, they stuffed the crispy waffle with ube cream inside ! $30 Chicken moco also is great but the chicken was too skinny ! $30 Service is friendly .
Kimberly I — Google review
Came around 6:30am for breakfast (since we were up from jet lag). Prices are a little high but I feel like that’s to be expected in Hawaii. Service was good. I got uber waffles ($30) & my husband got local style beef hash (or something along those lines. $28).
Nicole L — Google review
Kai market is a restaurant in Sheraton. We had breakfast at this restaurant for entire trip. This has indoor+ outdoor seating. Indoor seating is as good as outdoor as this has huge glass sliding doors that gives outdoor effect to everything. Views are breathtaking. It’s oceanfront overlooking Waikiki beach. Food was decent. Omelette was really good. They can have much better options in continental option. Currently they had standard chilly regular fruits, sugary yogurt, granola mix with chopped nuts and server had no clue what nuts are in. Coffee was served and refilled cold. I am allergic and had to leave it as no idea what nuts they were using. Servers were very elderly and very sweet and friendly. I am giving 4 star as the views were stunning and the servers were super friendly.
Nidhi S — Google review
Hard pass. The *only* reason to go here is if you Bonvoy Platinum or better, because then you get a complementary continental breakfast. If you do come here, you'll notice there is almost never a wait and the place is never full. Because.... you generally only make the mistake of coming here once. Lets start off at the top. It's EXPENSIVE. You are already paying close to $500/night to stay here (at the bottom end) and they cannot provide any breakfast included? Ok, but then your run of the mill "bacon and eggs" (the "american breakfast" which is 3 eggs, your choice of meat) breakfast is $30. Oh, but they'll say that also includes a drink, like a $5 black coffee. I'm not coffee expert but it didn't taste like anything special, nor does the menu say it's Kona coffee. So we're talking coffee that makes Starbucks better and cheaper. But here's the thing that really drove me to write this. Beyond the food being expensive and average at best. Today I ordered eggs over easy. I *never* send back food, I'll eat just about anything you give me. But what I ended up with was eggs that has been passed by a fire. The white was almost entire liquid, I should have taken a picture but I was so shocked and forgot. Sent it back and they had the gall to suggest that I didn't know eggs and should order over medium - which I acquiesced to just to get something edible. The result was hard fried, but at least over medium. I'm sorry, if you ONLY do breakfast and it's a $30 breakfast for 3 eggs, 4 slices of sausage and 3 potatoes... you gotta be able to do it right. Also, know what over easy should and shouldn't look like. If it looks like white water, something is seriously wrong. For the $50+/night resort fee, the Sheraton should just make this a place a light continental breakfast that's included for all. Maybe it was better in a pre-COVID hey-day, but now the place looks quiet sad.
Jon D — Google review
This has been the poorest service we’ve experienced in Hawaii so far. Even though we ordered first, our breakfast took over 20 minutes to arrive, and no water was ever served. After the food was brought out, there was no follow-up service at all. Feel very disappointed. Once again, the difference comes down to the server rather than the restaurant itself.
J. ( — Google review
Great environment, views, and service. Eggs Benedict was very disappointing. $42 for a bland dish with grocery store toast is not worth the visit.

Restaurant
Kuhio Beach Grill is a restaurant located in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, offering American breakfast and themed dinners served buffet-style. The breakfast buffet features a variety of options including omelets, egg dishes, waffles, fruit, and some Asian choices. While the prices may seem a bit high for breakfast, it can be a good value if you plan to skip lunch. Additionally, elite Marriott Bonvoy members at higher levels can enjoy complimentary breakfast.
Kuhuio Beach Grill is located within Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel. We had breakfast buffet at the restaurant. While they do have a wide selection of food, the price was quite steep - $48 plus tax ! (In 2024). Hey had omelette station. Sticky Bun we were told to try was delicious; but a little too sweet. Daisy who took care of us was friendly and helpful.
K R — Google review
Breakfast was delicious ! Didn't have a chance to try the buffet, but the Big Kahuna Breakfast and Egg White with Sausage was the perfect amount of food.
Thomas “ — Google review
A few months ago, I stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott for the 2nd time. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at the Kuhio Beach Grill. This restaurant provides a relaxed yet refined dining experience with a view of the beach offering a front-row seat to Waikiki’s sunrises if you're having breakfast. The breakfast is generous and very well thought out in terms of variety, but the true standouts are the sticky buns and the POG (pineapple, orange, & guave) juice. The sticky buns are warm and not overly sweet, but just enough to feel like a guilty pleasure. Sticky buns and POG are a great way to start the day.
Antonio R — Google review
If you are an elite Marriott bonvoy member, breakfast is free for higher levels. We had breakfast every day while staying at hotel. Our servers kept our drinks filled and empty dishes clear from table. Kudos to that staff of servers, Daisy and Madonna. Exemplary service from our omelet chef (Chuck)after the first day there, knew exactly what we liked and would cook the dishes without us asking and bring it to our table.
M N — Google review
Breakfast buffet - overpriced, even for Hawaii. $31. for a continental breakfast, which includes the omelet station or $48. for the complete buffet. The omelet was great, everything else was just average. It took 8 minutes to get a cup of coffee after I sat down. The coffee cups are also very small, and it is difficult to get a refill. A highlight was that I go a to-go coffee.
William M — Google review
Expensive breakfast option if you don’t want to drive away from Waikiki. Food selection is ok: an omelette station, continental breakfast, some bakery items, and fruits. Service is ok. Don’t understand why I have to order drinks when I’m already doing the buffet….
Robert L — Google review
We just had one meal here. Brunch buffet. Workers are diligent and the place is clean, but the food doesn't justify the price $48. Limited choices.
Sophie C — Google review
The breakfast buffet is extensive, expensive, and borderline an embarrassment of riches, despite missing smoked salmon, a staple and a popular option at all fancy breakfast buffets. They open at 5 am, which is unusual for an establishment on Waikiki Beach. Sit by the window and you'll get an amazing view of the Pacific.

House Without A Key is a popular indoor/outdoor restaurant in Waikiki known for its inventive island cocktails, locally sourced menu items, and live Hawaiian entertainment. Guests can enjoy sunset cocktails and appetizers while listening to live Hawaiian music under the stars by the sea. The venue offers a romantic and nostalgic atmosphere with a lovely hula dancer swaying to the riffs of Hawaiian steel-pedal guitar against the backdrop of a glowing sunset and ocean.
We reserved table 97. They did not guarantee us the table but gave us a good time to check in and we were able to get it. The views are so beautiful. We enjoyed the music. The food and drinks were so good! Server was very nice! Only complaint was one of the hostess cut all of us in line waiting in the bathroom which is pretty rude. Thank you for making the last night of our trip amazing.
Nicole P — Google review
Came here for the breakfast buffet about half an hour before last seating and still managed to have a full meal! I love their assortment of foods and their Japanese breakfast selection (rice, miso soup station, pickles, ume, nishime, cold tofu, ohitashi, etc). They have an omelette bar too. I like that their food items seemed fresh and were all in cute Le Creuset pots. I even was able to get an iced coffee with a side of oat milk. Friendly staff and good relaxing vibes. Some birds flying around but not a huge deal.
Taylor — Google review
Great experience! We got there 30 mins before the sunset cocktails/dinner time seating began. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 children under 3 and we had an amazing time. We did not have reservations and got great seats in their outdoor area. (But remember we got there early) Music was lovely. Service was great. The view was beautiful. Such a lovely scenery. If you are visiting Waikīkī I personally believe this is a place you have to visit at least once. It truly was a cool Hawaii experience (especially if you are NOT into the lu’au scene like me). It was a chill laid back dinner with cocktails and music experience. And yes the Mai tais were delicious. FOR THE PARENTS: They have a grassy area where the kids could run around and play and that was a HUGE plus for us since we have a toddler and a very active crawling 10 month old. So yes bring the kids and enjoy with the whole family. Also I think we stayed for 3 hours. We had a blast.
Angela M — Google review
House Without a Key was outstanding! From the moment we arrived until we left, the service was top-notch. They offer valet parking, and you can get your parking validated for 4 hours by the restaurant. Melissa greeted us and showed us to the restaurant. There was a short wait, but with the gorgeous view, perfect weather, and live music, it wasn't a problem while we waited for our table. Once seated, Trey was our server, and he was fantastic. He went over the menu with us and recommended some of his personal favorites. We started with cocktails and an appetizer. We had the Lawai'a roll, Pulehu Pineapple, and Coconut Old Fashioned. They also brought out complimentary Taro Rolls accompanied by a tropical butter, which was a nice touch. I'm still thinking about that Lawai'a roll while writing this review! For our main dish, we split the Tutū Mā Asian Braised Short Ribs with roasted red potatoes and home fries--it was just the right amount and very tasty. While we ate, the Hawaiian music continued, and a hula dancer appeared around 6pm, adding to the vibe. To wrap up, Kevin helped us with our car and even handed us two waters. Honestly, we had an amazing time all around--definitely check this place out!
Carmen H — Google review
I took a group of 10. Get there at 5 PM and seating close to the music is easy. Lovely sunset restaurant, at the water's edge. Nightly sunset music. The night we went we experienced the current and 20+ past Miss Hawaii dancing hula. One can order from the cocktail & pupu menu or ask for the dinner menu...we opted for the dinner menu. The food is superior. This is definitely a "must do" when visiting Waikiki.
Ed R — Google review
Had a lunch here on the patio. We had the lobster salad and fish of the day (swordfish sandwich), combined with some cocktails. The cocktails were ok, but imo too expensive. Happy to also get some taro sandwiches with pineapple butter, yummy! Our entrees were also pretty expensive, but it was tasty and well balanced. My salad was not just lettuce and tomatoes, but also carrots, roots, cabbage, avocado, apple, etc. I had lots of lobster meat (I think I actually had a whole lobster). My husband's swordfish sandwich was also a whole filet on the burger with delicious tartar sauce. You mainly pay for the view of course. Despite that there were over 6 servers and only 2 other tables, tables around us sat with empty dishes and glasses from previous guests for almost our whole entire meal. Our server or one of the others that were just standing there, ignored those tables. I guess because it wasn't 'their' job. But this just comes across as lazy and not very nice to look at as guests (we can't keep watching the view the whole time). Other than that, beautiful setting! Would love to come back in the evening when they have live entertainment. Not entirely sure if it worth having dinner over here though. Perhaps just some bar food and drinks?
Davina D — Google review
Liked this very much! It’s super yummy! Service is excellent, we took a Cobb salad to share and they serve it in different plates to make it more comfortable to us ! So nice !! Small details makes a big impact! Also there is a music and hula dance every day between 5pm -8pm ! As a “hi, from chef” they brought as a blueberry bun and papaya butter - amazing !!!
Kateryna Z — Google review
I got a reservation for dinner at sunset. The view and atmosphere did not disappoint. There was live music and hula dancing. The service was very attentive even though they were very busy. The food was fresh and delicious. Couldn't ask for more for our first meal in Hawaii.

Buffet restaurant
Located inside Prince Waikiki, 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar offers a delightful dining experience with its New American and Pacific Rim cuisine. The restaurant is known for its upscale buffet featuring a variety of dishes including tempura and crab legs. Emphasizing locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant also offers a la carte small bites with an emphasis on presentation.
We stayed at the Prince Waikiki, and this restaurant was very conveniently tucked inside the hotel! After a long exhausting day it was nice not having to drive or walk far for dinner. Food is amazing! We did their dinner a la carte twice because it was so good! Dinner buffet was one of a kind! A bit pricey, but totally worth a try, especially if you like crab! We also tried the breakfast buffet and loved it as well! Make sure to reserve a table, especially for the buffet, the tables fill up quick!!! We forgot to make a reservation but the staff were kind enough to find us a spot to sit by the bar even though the entire restaurant was full.

The food was excellent. Service could be better. It just seemed like there weren't enough workers. It got really cold where we were sitting to the point it became uncomfortable and some of us were shivering. I had a pants and a cardigan on. There's no reason why it had to be that cold unless it's to get people to leave. My only other complaint is the music they had playing. It was not "dinner music". It's a nice family restaurant at a tourist hotel, you'd think they'd be playing local music instead of some weird techno music. Our table complained about it amongst ourselves but really. Can they do something about the music?? You have 2 hours to eat, which seemed like a reasonable amount of time. Lots of options however I mostly stuck to the prime rib, lechon, seafood pasta and salt and pepper shrimp. I tried a few of their salads. Their pasta salad and watercress tofu salad is amazing. Their clam chowder is excellent and I had a full plate of crab legs. For dessert, the vanilla cake with raspberry was my favorite, although everything else tasted good too. Small enough so you can try everything. It came out to about $110 per person after tax and 18% gratuity. If you valet they can add it to your bill. I believe it was $20. All in all, we'll be back when another special occasion comes around.

Came for two consecutive evenings for happy hour food and drinks. The bartender is super friendly and makes great drinks. Happy hour food menu is pretty limited as most happy hour menus would be. You seat yourself at the bar for happy hour, cannot have table seating as those are reserved for buffet guests. Buffet guests can also seat at the bar, but we came both evenings and it wasn't full. Food portions are extremely small with exception of the chicken karaage which is a great deal for $8. Drinks are a great price during happy hour and all their cocktails are tasty.

The Buffet was fabulous! Willene our service Ambassador greeted me and my family with much Aloha. Excellent customer service and efficient. She introduced the other servers who were also great. She took the time to check and make sure we were ok.

First time here with hubby and a wonderful friend for lunch. We got the hurricane tots for our starters prince clam chowder. My friend and I had the teishoku. It comes with soup, salad, potatoes salad, pickled vegetables, rice, butterfish. Hubby had the everything focaccia. It comes with pepperoni, sausage, kamuela tomatoes, olives, peppers, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and basil with a side of fries. Service was excellent. We had a very nice view overlooking the harbor. We got a little surprise treat miso sesame brown butter cookie.

We found 100 Sails Restaurant and Bar at the Prince Waikiki thanks to our Yelp friend Nadine, who gave it a stellar 5-star review. On the second night of our Hawaii trip, after catching the Cirque du Soleil show, we headed over, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The sunset view was breathtaking, with amber colors that made the whole dining experience feel special. The $89 seafood buffet was quite a deal, loaded with variety and fresh flavors. The Alaskan crab legs were a bomb, totally worth the price tag, and the prime rib was awesome with its tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat. The chill yet upscale atmosphere paired with that open-air island breeze made it a perfect evening. The hand-roll sushi was perfect , crafted with care and bursting with flavor, while the variety of pokes was fantastic—each one a little different and all delicious. The clam chowder was pure comfort in a bowl, rich and creamy, and the porchetta was one of my absolute favorites, with its crispy exterior and juicy, flavorful meat. The staff were on point, keeping our drinks filled and making sure everything flowed smoothly without being overbearing. Nadine nailed it with this recommendation—100 Sails is a must for anyone in Waikiki craving a seafood feast with unreal views and dishes that hit all the right spots.

We had such a memorable experience at 100 Sails! The buffet was truly a treat — they only offer it a few nights a week, so we felt lucky to catch it. The selection was fantastic, with fresh sashimi, crab legs, prime rib, and so many other delicious options showcasing local flavors. The service was tremendous from start to finish. We mentioned that we were celebrating our honeymoon, and they surprised us with a special dessert, which made the evening even more meaningful. The beautiful ocean views were the perfect backdrop to our celebration. It’s definitely a splurge, but absolutely worth it for the quality, the warm hospitality, and the overall experience. Highly recommended! 🌺✨ Word to the wise, they validate parking at the hotel's garage. We did not know, which could have saved us the additional parking cost of visiting this restaurant.

Nestled in a cozy corner, Kats Sushi is a hidden gem for sushi lovers seeking an all-you-can-eat experience without breaking the bank. This unpretentious Japanese eatery invites you to indulge in a delightful array of sushi rolls, from Hamachi to Spicy Tuna, all while enjoying the unique BYOB concept. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it perfect for both solo diners and groups alike.
Small restaurant. You will definitely miss it if you don't pay attention because there's a wall covering pretty much the whole face of the restaurant except the sign. Didn't know this place is AYCE until I checked out the review. Definitely worth the time and money! They make your food per order. Sitting on the counter makes your experience like Omakase. I love the Unagi rolls and nigiri! Will come back for sure.

Kats Sushi is delicious and the quality is absolutely fantastic! This review from me is coming many months after my girlfriend and I last ate here on our last trip to Oahu (in May 2024) but we still talk about this place a ton and are excited to come back on our next trip. Everything we had was fantastic and a great value-- I remember the unagi especially being a stand out. Honestly some of the best sushi I've had anywhere (especially for an ayce spot). Street parking was also easy enough and the staff at the restaurant were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We absolutely love this place and are excited to come back again soon!

All You Can Eat is $34.50 including tax. Add 3% fee when using a credit card. Quick service and friendly staff. Casual and relaxing neighborhood sushi place. Really enjoyed the added flavor of shiso leaf in some of the hand rolls. It was my first time trying a clam nigiri. I like the texture and clean flavor. I'm not sure if I tasted the scallop in the scallop hand roll. Might have missed it.

A very small gem, all you can eat japanese restaurant. The seaweed was crunchy and the rice was just the right amount. This place has been there for 55 years. Seating outside is also an option. Must try the Hawaiian and plum roll . One more time going before leaving the island, is a must. $33 per person and might want to make a reservation.
Orchid S — Google review
I have been coming to this place for 10+ years. They are friendly and the food has been consistent each time. This is not a fancy sushi place. They have set items that they serve and standard canned drinks. They do not serve alcohol but it is BYOB. There is a paid lot in the back of the restaurant up the ramp but it closes at 10pm. Otherwise street parking is available on King St.

I love this place. Hard not to eat here everyday The staff are all amazing and professional. They keep the place cleans and make some of the best sushi I’ve tasted on the island. I love going in after a long day at the barbershop. Seems like their Sushi and the atmosphere can help any long day finish with a “bang.” Highly recommend this place and I assure you, the prices for all you can eat is unmatched for the quality.
Bruce — Google review
The fish and rice quality was excellent, creating a harmonious blend in each bite. The sushi was amazing, compared to other all you can eat sushi restaurants I’ve been worldwide. The sushi had a delightful melt-in-the-mouth experience, earning a solid 10/10 recommendation. Despite servers occasionally overlooking small requests like water during busy times, their eventual follow-up mitigates concerns. Patience is advised for a popular all-you-can-eat restaurant, ensuring an overall enjoyable experience.

Super chill ayce sushi spot for a good price (29.95). They don’t do rolls, only nigiri and hand rolls. But the sushi is delicious, the best ayce sushi I’ve ever had! I highly recommend the spicy unagi, Hawaiian (ahi with mayo and shiso leaf), and salmon skin handrolls!

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa is a sophisticated beachfront retreat featuring two restaurants, a luxurious spa, and an outdoor pool with a bar. Situated steps away from the famous Waikiki Beach, this resort offers a peaceful escape from city life while serving as a convenient base for exploring downtown Honolulu. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from their private lanai and take part in activities such as lei making, ukulele playing, and hula dancing.
We had such a great stay here! The check-in staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location can’t be beat — right across from the ocean and the famous Duke Statue, surrounded by shops and restaurants, truly in the heart of the city. Everything was within walking distance. The view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking, and housekeeping did an excellent job — very clean and quick service. Overall, I’d give this hotel 5 stars and 5 thumbs up! The only downside was the restaurant next to the pool — the food and drinks were disappointing, so I’d recommend skipping that. Other than that, everything was awesome. Highly recommend this hotel!

We booked our stay tru the Chase travel portal. We stayed here last week for 7 nights. We wanted to give big kudos to Grace, as she did make sure that our stay was amazing. Also she is the only Spanish speaker at the front desk in case you need help in Spanish. The rooms are really spacious, including the bathrooms. Coming to Waikiki pretty often for business, other hotels have pretty tiny rooms and not to mention their tiny bathrooms. We got our room serviced everyday, which is not common post-covid. We really like all the amenities and services offered by the hotel, the location is all for this property. The parking seems overpriced but again it is Waikiki so it seems standard in the area. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.
Luis M — Google review
Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki was very disappointing. The air conditioning in our first room was extremely loud and dirty, making it impossible to rest properly. Also the curtains were truly disgusting and we were absolutely shocked about the state of the room! We were also informed that repair work was scheduled to take place in our room the next day, sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. — an extremely inconvenient timeframe. You have no idea when someone might enter, and it’s quite uncomfortable not knowing if repair work on the bathroom pipes could start while you’re trying to shower or rest. Parking was another major issue. Although the hotel offers both self-parking and valet parking, all self-parking spaces were already full by 6 p.m. This meant that valet parking was the only option left — at a much higher rate of $85 instead of $60. That feels unreasonable for a hotel of this category. After filing a complaint, we were given a new room, which was acceptable — but the overall experience had already been ruined. The hotel itself looks very outdated and has clearly lost all of its former charm. This stay was at the end of our three-week trip, and we had started our journey at the Halepuna by Halekulani, also located on Waikiki Beach, where everything was absolutely wonderful. The difference in quality and service was remarkable. We will definitely not stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki EVER again.

Our family of four had two rooms and we were blown away by this place. I knew it would be nice, but it far exceeded my expectations! They upgraded us to partial ocean view rooms, and we had amazing views from our rooms! The rooms were very clean, large and with beautiful decor. We were celebrating my husband‘s birthday and they left many thoughtful treats and a bottle of champagne. The front desk woman at check-in (I wish I could remember her name) , was so sweet and helpful! It’s right across the road from the beach, but it’s such a simple walk. I actually can’t wait to come back! Absolutely loved it here!

The location of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is absolutely perfect. You are right in the heart of everything, with Waikiki Beach just steps away and endless shopping and dining options right on the main street. As a Globalist on a complimentary night award stay, the free valet parking was a fantastic perk. It was incredibly convenient to call down a few minutes ahead, and the car was always ready for us when we got to the lobby. The Regency Club was another major highlight for us. Having access to breakfast and a wide variety of drinks almost 24/7 made our stay very comfortable and easy. The amenities are solid, with a nice pool, hot tub, gym, and complimentary towels and chairs for the beach. The only downside was the room itself. We didn't receive an upgrade to an ocean view room (though our friends traveling with us did). The main issue was the soundproofing, which is not the best. We could clearly hear conversations in the hallway and even from the next room. There was also a loud whistling sound from the wind at the balcony door, which was quite noisy at night. Overall, if you are a Globalist and manage your expectations about a room upgrade, this is a very solid choice due to the incredible location and valuable perks.

Overall very pleased with this resort. The location is amazing literally across the street from Waikiki Beach. The beds are comfortable and room size was surprisingly large for our family of four even with a pull out bed. The rooms are good but could use a few touch ups. We didn't use the pool but the free use of pool chairs for the beach was nice. Lastly the view from the room is amazing. We got the ocean view high floor and they put us on floor 25. Two things I didn't like. The AC in the room always seemed to struggle. We kept the temperature at 65 but it felt like 72 at night still. Also the parking is extremely expensive. Valet is $80 a day and self park is $65 so we opted for valet.
Trenton S — Google review
My husband and I stayed for a few days for a staycation. Service was good and the location was amazing. Close to the beach and lots of events within the hotel, eateries and shopping just downstairs of the lobby. Self-parking was tight and scarce but doable. I was offered a corner room with a partial ocean view. Not sure if it was a choice I should have taken. The room was small and I kept tripping over the 1 inch high crease in the carpet that went across the room just as you walk past the first side of the bed to get to the rest of the room. The cabinet door that has the drawers behind it was barely hanging from the hinges. We didn't use them so it wasn't a big thing for us. Overall it was a good getaway for us.

Mold infested room. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. I came to celebrate my sister's wedding and was put in a mold infested ocean view. I was so busy the first day and didn't notice the mold until the second night while laying in bed about to sleep. When I called to let the operator know they down played the mold and said they would send housekeeping to clean it up. I told them this isn't something you can clean up. It was clearly obvious the mold had been there for some time. If you look closely the mold was painted over to with paint that didn't even match the room. The mold was so bad it was coming through the second coat of paint. When housekeeping came they decided the room wasn't fit for me to stay in so they had me pack up and moved to a temporary disability room without a view. Mind you I'm not disabled. I paid $329 a night for the view and woke up to construction. Before moving rooms I was told they would get me in my third and final room early that morning but I wasn't moved until the evening. I was never notified when my room was ready. I went back and forth from stressful bridesmaids duties to the front desk a few times to ask if my room was ready. I had to pack my things twice in 3 days until I was finally moved in a room that fit what I paid for. My left eye was twitching the whole weekend bc of how stressed I was. After 2.5 days of being inconvenienced I was only rewarded a $200 credit. I was shocked I didn't get remembered for all the night I had an issue. When I contacted customer care after my stay they emailed me to say "You are absolutely right that this is not something that should ever have occurred, and I regret that it was not handled with the urgency and care you deserved from the very beginning. While I am glad to hear that our team attempted to make amends with a room credit, I recognize that this gesture did not match the seriousness of the inconveniences and discomfort you endured." After the email I felt as if something else was going to be done to compensate my horrible first 3 days but Nothing was done once more. I'm not 109% sure but I believe the room number was 909. I will never come back to stay here!

My stay at the Halekulani Hotel in Waikīkī was nothing short of perfect. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth by the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Their professionalism, kindness, and eagerness to make my stay memorable truly stood out. I booked an ocean-view room, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sight of the sparkling blue waters of Waikīkī was an experience in itself. The room was beautifully maintained, and every detail spoke of luxury and comfort. The service here is truly world-class. They provided twice-daily room service, and each time, the room was refreshed to perfection. What really touched me was the thoughtful gesture of leaving a small gift for me each time — lovely little treats like mini hand creams, face creams, and other delightful surprises. These personal touches made me feel truly valued as a guest. Every interaction with the team — from the front desk to housekeeping — was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. It felt like everyone went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel in Waikīkī where exceptional service meets breathtaking views, Halekulani is the place to be. I cannot recommend it enough and will definitely be returning!

Overall this was a good experience but the hotel rides on the wings of location and fame. The service was on tier with being a 5 star establishment (great room service, thoughtful amenities, helpful concierge) but otherwise the value was not proportional to the price. We stayed here after four seasons Ko Olina so my review might have been better if I didn't have that to compare to. It may be the nature of being located in a city but the rooms were smaller with closer proximity to adjacent balconies (the diamond head view was more cramped compared to the ocean view at the four seasons). There were no screen doors and more noise during the night. There were less activities to do at the hotel (beach access was minimal with a few feet of sand- you can get access to Waikiki beach by a 5-10 min walk but the narrow beach road was under construction. They had one large pool that seemed to be shared with kids(FS had an infinity pool, access to 4 semi private lagoons, smaller children's pool, and large gym pool). Here the day life was average. The evening offered a good selection of choices- live music performances at seaside restaurants (though you get that at FS too), as well as a jazz club which stood out. There are more shops on the premises compared to FS. Overall this was a good experience but not exceptional. At 200 more per night compared to an equal tier room at FS Ko Olina, the value didn't meet expectations. This hotel also does not participate in The edit or FHR which FS did.

This was the second hotel we stayed at in Hawaii and such a difference from our first. GREAT hotel - a solid 4/5 all round. Really attentive friendly staff, rooms are wonderful. Service is good. There's a variety of food/drink options here. The food itself is good but not amazing, one spicy dish anywhere on any menu would be incredible (but that's just personal taste). We tried a variety of different drinks with mixed results, but overall really enjoyed it all. Also, visit the hotels bakery... SO GOOD. The only slight downside to this hotel is the pool area is not the best. It feels really cramped and because of the proximity to the beach, many guests bring sand into the pool. Not ideal. It also closes fairly early. Location is right in the heart of everything, very walkable to most things. Overall, great spot! A good hotel, done well. Not 5 star but not a bad option at all.

We've been vacationing in Hawaii for the past 20+ years with our family. This year, we wanted to stay somewhere special for just the two of us and decided on the Halekulani Hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The resort is the epitome of understated elegance with first-class accommodations and customer service. Their concierge, Ryoko Yamamoto, is a true gem who is not only professional, but also extremely knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. She made everything effortless from start to finish. The pool attendants, cleaning personnel, and everyone working at the resort were polished and provided exceptional customer service. The buffet breakfast at the House Without a Key and Orchid's Sunday brunch and dinner are phenomenal! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and absolutely loved this luxury hotel. We highly recommend the Halekulani Hotel and will definitely be back again!! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

This hotel looks absolutely gorgeous! We visited the restaurant during sunset with lovely Hawaiian dance and music. They didn't appear to have direct beach access as that part of the beach was closed off, but they would have ocean view rooms, and easy beach access next to the hotel (better than living opposite the road like many Waikiki hotels)

Such a beautiful venue! I was here for a conference and everything was nice - conference room, refreshments, and valet parking. Be sure to bring cash for tip, I usually carry $10-$20 when I go to the Halekulani. This one time I had $7 for tip and they were smiling - anything counts. Also, if you need to use the restroom, go to the main floor restrooms as the restroom in the second floor only has one stall. Lunch was great and efficient too! We had one hour allocated for lunch and finished in 50 minutes. Highly recommend this location for conferences.

Amazing hotel! The rooms were spotless and huge. We had a beautiful ocean view and could hear the waves all night long. Bed was comfortable, plenty of towels which I love. Only negative was the couch bed mattress could use an upgrade. It was very thin and you could feel all the springs. Pool was clean and the staff by the pool were friendly and would set you up every day with chairs and towels. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful. Also, perfect location!! Easily accessible to lots of attractions and sights. We would definitely stay here again.
Steve F — Google review
Halekulani has great service and good food. But the rooms? Honestly, they feel Hilton-average. The food is maybe Google 4-star, but for the price, it’s more like a 3. It’s a quiet hotel, but the area around it is chaotic and crowded. There’s barely a beach—just a tiny strip—and while Waikīkī is a short walk away, that leads to my biggest issue: Why book a quiet, luxury hotel only to plant yourself in the heart of Waikīkī? It doesn’t make sense. The hotel is tucked right into the edge of all the Waikīkī hustle and bustle, but it offers none of the vibrant energy and none of the peaceful island beauty either. Yes, the service is top-notch—but that’s about all it has over a cheaper option. We stayed in a beachfront house on the North Shore for the same $2,500/night—and the entire time we were at Halekulani, I found myself wishing we were back there. The views were better, the water was clearer, the food was better, the activities were more laid-back, and the crowds and traffic were way less intense. Bottom line: If you’re coming for people, parties, and shopping, stay in Waikīkī—but don’t overpay for Halekulani. If you want peace, natural beauty, and a truly “low key” experience, skip Waikīkī altogether. Stay on the North Shore and actually feel like you’re in Hawaii.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is a popular spot with generous portion sizes and timely service. The all-you-can-eat lunch specials are a hit, offering a variety of meats and sides. While it's not the most budget-friendly option, the quality of food makes it worth the price. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity, and the friendly staff adds to the enjoyable dining experience.
Absolutely amazing Japanese BBQ experience in Honolulu! My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The quality of the meats was top-notch—melt-in-your-mouth wagyu, perfectly marinated cuts, and super fresh veggies. We loved being able to grill everything ourselves right at the table—it made the whole experience really fun and interactive. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere had that cozy, modern vibe. Great music, clean setup, and the staff even checked in to make sure we were grilling things the right way. Honestly, it felt like a hidden gem. If you’re into Japanese BBQ, this spot is a must-visit. We left full and happy haha!

The food featured average-quality meat, and I couldn’t believe they charged extra for the kimchi—it was very sour and not fresh at all, costing almost $7! The salad and chicken appetizer were good, and the rice tasted acceptable. However, the service was disappointing, as they forgot several items we ordered.

We went for lunch and it exceeded our expectations. ***20% kama’aina discount at lunch, 15% at dinner!*** The lunch special is 2 items for $18/3 for $23, includes miso soup, Japanese salad, and a bowl of rice. Tons of food! Lots of meat! Lots of upgrade options, but the regular lunch items are delicious. We upgraded 2/3 of our meat options, added a few veggies, and got the garlic fried rice (which comes in a hot pot, so the rice got crispy on the bottom!). Taylor was our waitress and she was very friendly, helpful, and professional. Service was super fast. The restaurant is very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located.

Overall, everything was quite good. The atmosphere was fun, especially the idea that you get to cook yourself. The presentation was interesting. The beer was tasty. The pasta was also delicious. The only thing that was really bad was the asparagus – it was old and not tasty. And the dessert, the matcha tiramisu, was half-frozen, which completely spoiled the flavor. The biscuit was just plain and not softened, and the cream was hard to taste because it felt like eating grated ice. Maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be, I don’t know, as I tried it for the first time and really wanted to experience it. And if the front door was cleaner, the place would look nicer.

Fun spot in Waikiki if you’re craving hands-on Japanese BBQ! The meat quality was solid—especially the kalbi short rib and the garlic shrimp. The marinades were flavorful and everything cooked up perfectly right at the table. We went with one of the combo sets and it was a great value for the amount of food you get. The rice, miso soup, and dipping sauces complemented everything really well. Service was friendly and fast, and the vibe inside was casual and upbeat—great for a date night or small group. Only reason I knocked off a star was the slightly tight seating area, but overall, it’s a delicious and interactive dining experience that’s well worth trying in Waikiki.

I’m so sad we discovered this place on our last day in hawaii, because we definitely didn’t get enough! We got the all you can eat and a beef ramen. I can’t even describe how good that ramen was. The teriyaki chicken and the New York steak are my favorites from the bbq.

Takeout Restaurant
Ginza Bairin Tonkatsu is a cozy restaurant located in the heart of Waikiki, offering authentic Japanese cuisine with a focus on breaded pork cutlets. The star of the menu is Berkshire pork, creating crispy and juicy bites that are complemented by the specialty sauce created by founder Nobukatsu Shibuya. The restaurant also offers seafood and poultry options for those looking for variety.
Authentic Japanese restaurant that serves very well-presented and flavorful food. I've never had katsu that is so juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. Highly recommended if you go to Honolulu! The restaurant is pretty small so I'd recommend making a reservation before going.

A traditional Japanese restaurant with an authentic atmosphere and well-prepared dishes. The food was flavorful and nicely presented, and the service was warm and friendly throughout our visit. Prices are a little on the higher side compared to similar places, but overall it’s a pleasant dining experience if you’re looking for quality Japanese cuisine.

We made reservations for 6:30 but got there a bit earlier and they let us in. Thank you for that, since we're hungry. We had Pork tenderloin set and another one but premium set. The meat was so tender and panto was so light and crunchy. Tonkatsu sauce was delicious. Giant shrimp tempura was so ono! Curry that came with premium set was delicious. Our server was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. His name is Scott. Parking is next to ABC store in the Bank building underground. Make sure to bring ticket to get validation. This is our 2nd times at this restaurant. Will definitely come back again.

Now this was a very impressive meal! In general I am not the biggest fan of Japanese food, but this was one of my best experiences. My biggest dissatisfaction was that I wish I had a little more meat, since I had so many ways to eat it that I ran out of pork before anything else. I tried the deluxe set of the 200 gram pork katsu: Katsu – A nice piece of meat covered well in crispy breading and fried. The meat was very properly cooked, not rare at all and still juicy and tender. It can’t be cooked better. Unfortunately, the bottom side of the breading still ended up getting soggy despite the metal wire stage holding up the pork. The sides and top were very good, crispy but not crunchy, holding up to the addition of sauces but not requiring extra force to eat. The fat cap on one end was a bit rich since there wasn’t much meat to balance it out. The mustard on the side was my favorite topping. I don’t have a high wasabi tolerance and the mustard’s nasal effect was a bit strong, but I really enjoyed the flavor in combination with the pork. Miso soup – flavorful, savory, not too salty Egg custard – sort of a steamed egg with toppings of mushroom, veggie, and a piece of chicken or something. Very light and interesting, egg texture was like silken tofu. Rice and barley rice – not the biggest difference I think, the barley rice has a bit more texture and nutty flavor but the white rice is softer and more aromatic. Sesame seed katsu sauce and curry – deep, savory additions to the pork. I was dunking every other bite in them and still didn’t manage to finish it. I also wish a could have ground up my sesame a bit more fine, but the little pestle was taken from me before I was quite done. Sesame ice cream – this was not listed as on option on the menu but was presented to me as a choice by the server, so I had to try it (I believe the menu options were green tea and lilikoi, but the green tea had run out). It was probably served a little too cold since it was solid and not very fluffy, but still the sesame flavor was strong and it wasn’t too rich or sweet. We also got the edamame appetizer (garlic and anchovy version) even though it supposedly was not available after 6:00p ( we ordered a few minutes after), which was refreshing and had great savory flavors in the sauce.

Excellent food and service! Ordered the Kurobuta Pork katsu deluxe set. Was cooked perfectly. Tender with a light crunchy batter. A bit pricey but the quality is there. Free refills of sides (miso soup, rice, lettuce) when deluxe set is ordered.

Yes, the food is definitely on the pricey side—but honestly, what more can you ask for? I haven’t had tonkatsu this good since my last trip to Japan. It’s not your everyday Japanese restaurant kind of tonkatsu—this one is next level. Crispy, juicy, perfectly cooked… just magical. Totally worth the splurge!
Freddie P — Google review
Delicious, cooked perfectly, crispy. Absolutely must try. I had the signature one which is limited per day. There’s 2 restaurants but they are the same? I went to the one on the right and I got turned away because of no booking, the one on the left let us in straight away. Just FYI
Jimmy H — Google review
We liked this restaurant so much that we went back twice during our 5-day trip. After our first visit, it was easily our top pick of the entire trip. Unfortunately, during the second visit, we were served a fried pork cutlet that wasn’t fully cooked — the inside was still raw. While this was clearly a serious oversight, the staff handled it well and refunded the dish immediately. Luckily, we didn’t have any adverse reactions. Overall, the food is still excellent and worth trying — just be sure to double-check your pork!

Sura Hawaii is a Korean BBQ restaurant that offers grill-at-the-table yakiniku barbecue, staying open late into the night. The restaurant aims to provide an authentic Korean BBQ experience, catering to both locals and tourists with its warm aloha spirit and friendly staff. Established in 2012, Sura Hawaii has become a popular destination for both Hawaiian locals and visitors, offering high-quality meats and traditional Korean dishes.
Great KBBQ experience! My first time here for lunch hour (~1pm). It wasn’t busy, we got seated immediately. Shoutout to our server who asked if we had our student ID (10% off for UHM students with valid ID!), she wanted to remember to give us discount! My friend and i definitely ate our money’s worth, the lunch special is worth the price! Everything was very clean and vibes were great. Also they have a call button system so no need wait long for them to get their attention—FIRE experience.

I got the steak bowl delivered via uber eats, probably the worst steak bowl I’ve ever had on the island in the past 10 years, the steak was ridiculously over cooked, chewy, had literally no flavor what so ever… (tasted worse than plain hamburger meat which I don’t mind) . It was suppose to come with “pickled vegetables” I got 4 prices of cucumber in a tiny ranch cup, and a tiny ranch cup of Mac salad. Absolute worse value of any meal I’ve ever ordered for that price, $18. Can’t say anything about the staff cause I got delivery but the vibe of the inside always looks really cool. I could understand if this was some small, hole in the wall place but it’s a legit restaurant that has been here since I moved here 10 years ago. Many people warned me that the food wasn’t great here but now I know for sure, would not recommend, have also heard ALOT of people complain about the quality of food as well. Will never order here again.

Cool experience. The steak was the one thing that we really couldn’t eat. It was too chewy couldn’t really cut a knife through it. Shrimp, chicken, and brisket were good.

Solid all you can eat spot with good quality meats and side dishes. Wish they had more options for meat. The 2 hour time limit is strict which I find annoying since they take so long to bring more meats when requested

Just off the plane and in need of food. We asked hotel staff for recommendation and this was it. Our server, Jose, was awesome and over the top! The food on the other hand … more fat than meat, skimpy on the veggies. I didn’t love that our veggies were sitting out in the table when they sat us. It did not speak “fresh” to me. All in all, it was overpriced and lacking in quality.
Dini M — Google review
Super fun eating experience. This was our first time having Korean BBQ. You have 90 minutes to eat and it’s all you can eat too! Very affordable price as well. I think it was $28 or $30 per person. The employees were very attentive, friendly, and they have buttons as well in case you need something before they come back around. My favorite was the bulgogi, garlic shrimp, and the cheesy corn.
Britini C — Google review
This place used to be so amazing. The new changes they’ve made have made the experience not nearly as good as before with a new self serve salad bar and sides and a changed menu. The seasonings are not as good as before and the house salad dressing no longer exists, our server said the shoyu is now the house salad dressing? The changes are just overall not good and I hope they can improve and go back to a better overall experience

Korean barbecue restaurant
Gen Korean BBQ House is a local chain that offers a luxurious yet traditional Korean BBQ experience in a trendy, modern setting. Located at Ala Moana shopping center in Honolulu, it provides a unique dining experience with its communal eating and diverse menu options including fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables. The restaurant's ultra-modern feel and fixed in grill tables add to the authentic atmosphere. Don't miss out on their tantalizing ban-chan (side dishes) that complement every meal.
100/10 I absolutely recommend! First let me say that Corey the manager is a life saver! Our soccer team traveled to HI from CA to compete in the Aloha International Cup. We are a group of 60+ people. I had the hardest time finding a restaurant in Waikiki that would serve a party our size. I was even laughed at and told such a large party would be impossible in Waikiki especially on a Friday. Corey proved them wrong. He not only accommodated us, when we arrived all our tables were prepared, we started with the most popular 4 premium meats, we had the absolute BEST service! Thank you Corey, Joel, Randy & Willy for saving the day and making sure we were not only well taken care of but also made sure we got to experience the delicious variety Gen Korean BBQ has to offer. The location has plenty of parking, the atmosphere was amazing, restrooms were clean. If you are looking for a great place to eat with family/ friends, look no further.
LaQuisha B — Google review
We were only informed after being seated that many menu items were unavailable. The sauce tray was dirty, with leftover oil from previous customers. Compared to locations on the mainland U.S., the differences were stark — the restaurant’s cleanliness, the quality of the meat, and even the fried items (which were served cold) were all disappointing. Staff seemed poorly trained, playing rave music and goofing off during service. Overall, this was a terrible dining experience. It completely ruined my friend’s birthday dinner. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I do not recommend this restaurant.
M C — Google review
Gen K-BBQ is a great option around the Waikiki area. The price can’t be beat. The food quality is decent, made better considering the price. The selection of items is good, even the regular non premium menu option. Some of the meat options were on the tough side, like the premium steak, pork belly and ox intestines. Our server Lauren was great. Initially she was really busy so it was a slow start but when she wasn’t as busy, she was quite attentive and friendly. I would recommend it and will be back.
James F — Google review
ATMOSPHERE: They've taken over the huge footprint that was Tsukiji Fish Market in Ala Moana Center. By the looks of it, the dining area is about 3/4 of what Tsukiji was, but still gargantuan by any means. It reminded me of a contemporary funhouse inside with dark walls, blue ambient lighting, with plexiglass and mirror design effects. It's quite aromatic inside as not all tables have a hood vent over them, so you will come out smelling like BBQ. MENU: Traditional banchan, meats, poultry, pork, seafood, vegetables. Because we were having lunch on a Saturday, we had to pay the dinner menu price vs. the lunch price, and is probably the reason why we had no wait time. ORDERING: Contrary to older reviews, according to our server they don't really enforce the limit of food you can order (and charge you extra for uneaten portions). Just be civil, I say. We ordered six selections between the two of us which was perfect. FOOD: A trio of seasonings were presented for personal use. Green tea salt for sprinkling, a sweet/savory soy-based sauce, and a sesame oil-based sauce. No rules, just use the one you like best. Included were a spread of banchan for each person, a forgettable Romaine salad with an Asian dressing, steamed white rice (undercooked, unfortunately) and steamed rice wrappers for fajita-like use with the meats. Cajun Shrimp - Heads & legs-on, not spicy, good taste. Nook Gan Sal (marinated finger short rib) - This was my favorite meat in taste and texture (firmer). Garlic Chicken - Sounds boring but was really tasty and cooked faster than expected. Beef Bulgogi - Not a fan as it was too fatty and soft. Calamari Steak - Mistakingly brought to us but we accepted. Chewy, tasteless and boring, just as I expected. Pass. Hangjungsal (pork cheek) - Got this on recommendation by our server. Tasty, thin strips of meat and fat with bacon-like flavor. Highly recommended by my tongue, not by my arteries. Jap Chae - Already cooked and savory-seasoned glass noodles. Very good. SERVICE: Host greeting was quick and friendly. Our male server was also friendly and helpful but had short term memory. We asked twice for more napkins and finally received them on our third try via another worker. TIPS: The conical propane grill at the table cooked food quickest towards the center of it due to the heat source. Workers changed out charred grill pans throughout our meal. You have a 2-hour eating time limit inside which was more than enough for the two of us. OVERALL: Fun concept, pricey lunch menu on weekends, good flavors.

Service was good, YET. The food was not the best considering it was a very PRICEY meal for 2 people. The meats were not the best qualities for what you are paying. I have eaten many Korean restaurants and this place was the worst food I have tasted in a long time. If you want the experience of Korean culture then YES..But, not for the food..
Patricia H — Google review
I had a good time eating at Gen Korean BBQ. Everything from the food to the service was good. To start I would say the meats were good but some were not of the highest quality. The selection of different meats were quite extensive which I thought was nice. I enjoyed the side dishes we order such as the cheese corn and cheese tonkatsu which was fresh and crispy. The service started off slow as our waiter was busy but gradually improved as some tables were finishing up. Considering the price of the lunch menu I was very impressed and would come back again.
Tyler F — Google review
Everything would’ve been 5 stars and great if our servers service was better… I’m a server/bartender and my sister is a retired server, so we understand and know how things work and the hustle. We always say thank you, and when said there was no response and just a quick drop of the items we ordered and quickly walking away. Our servers name is Megan, I felt like there was a weird tension or something that we did wrong due to the fact that she would talk and give service to other tables around us so differently. I flew from Arizona and this was my last meal with my family so I was hoping to enjoy… but this experience was not great. I was hoping to bless my last server here in Hawaii with a great tip but I’d rather keep it to my self now with this attitude.
Caelyn K — Google review
Disappointed with Cleanliness and Quality I was really looking forward to enjoying Korean BBQ here, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to cleanliness and food quality concerns. The grill plate was visibly unclean, with bubbling grease and residue coming up as it heated. I politely asked for the grill to be replaced not once, but three separate times, and each time it came back with the same issue—grease buildup and signs it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. That alone raised serious food safety concerns. On top of that, the meat quality was subpar—it didn’t seem fresh or well-prepared. To make matters worse, the utensils provided were oily, which made the whole experience feel unsanitary and unprofessional. This place has potential, but cleanliness needs to be taken more seriously. I hope the management reviews their cleaning protocols and food quality standards. Until then, I can’t recommend it.

Buffet restaurant
Kaku's Sushi & Seafood Buffet is a modern Japanese restaurant located in the International Market Place. The buffet offers a variety of options, including crab legs and steak. Some customers found the quality and variety of sushi disappointing, while others enjoyed dishes like tempura crab rolls and warm, delicious crab legs. The restaurant has a time limit for dining, which some felt was not sufficient to fully enjoy the offerings.
I visited the restaurant with my daughter. We ordered many sushi, both nigiri and roll, and tried most hot meals from buffet line. Their sushi was fresh and taste great. I also enjoyed crab legs and fried oysters too. My daughter tried some desserts and they were good too. We will visit again soon.
Yasutaka W — Google review
If you're coming mainly for the crab legs then it's worth it. I mainly wanted sushi but was disappointed in the quality and variety. There were many options but they all tasted the same to me. I ate crab and steak all night (the steak was bomb, ribeye). They limit your stay to an hour and a half, which I thought was enough time but it really wasn't. We went on a Saturday night and only half of the restaurant was filled but they just couldn't keep up with keeping the crab legs station filled. I spent most of my 90 minutes waiting. Bottom line if you want an all you can eat buffet with crab legs and you don't want to spend a lot I'd recommend this place. And they offer kamaaina discount, came out to $39/ person for dinner.
Veronica S — Google review
I went for the dinner buffet on a Sunday night. The host was going to seat us outside but found an inside table for us. The sushi selection is pretty extensive and tasted good but the hot food was not as tasty and they took a long time to replenish the empty items. They have a Udon and Ramen station. The Ramen broth was tasty but the Udon broth was a little less flavorful. Overall it's an ok place to dine but nothing special.
Jody F — Google review
Some of the food is just okay, and some foods are really good! The tempura crab rolls were delicious! The steak was just okay. Crab legs were kept warm and super delicious. You can have crepes w/ ice cream, made to order. Service was great! Our server was very nice, and the people passing out the food were also nice.
Kayla R — Google review
Fried rice, beef broccoli, bbq chicken, chicken katsu, oodles of noodles, rib eye steak, clams, tempura, snow crab, shrimp. oysters, miso soup, 30 varities of sushi, garlic shrimp, sashimi and lets not forget the deserts. Asian flair on crepes with scoop ice cream with your choice of bananas, pineapples and or strawberries. Ask the person to have the crepe cool b4 they put the ice cream and topping on it. Then when you get back to your table...fold the crepe like a taco and eat it that way...bet you can't ear just one!
Rod K — Google review
Update 6/1 Finally had the chance to try it out. We had reservations and was seated in a nice area off to the side. Then we found out that the line for the buffet went right past us and it was difficult for the wait staff to see us and we were often blocked from getting in/out when it was busy. I had to flag three different staff members to ask for water and finally the 3rd one got us water after being there for 45 minutes. The buffet line does not move fast and is slowed down more by people waiting for steak and the crepe dessert line is super slow. As for the sushi, they lost our orders so many times and also got one mixed up. The sashimi is also cut in thick squares...not like a poke cube cut, but definitely not sashimi style. Bottom line, do not go unless you have A LOT of time and have a good discount. If not, their regular price is TOTALLY not worth it. They will have to make a lot of changes to get people to come back. If they don't, they won't last very long... ------ There was an adverisement in the May 9th Sunday newspaper about Kaku's seafood buffet. We spent all week trying to contact someone about this restaurant and after many tries, I got in touch with a voice recording which asked me to leave a message...but the voicemail was full. My family and I went on May 11th and walked around for awhile until I saw this place. It has the same chairs as the picture posted for this restaurant on another site. I couldn't believe that the place was being advertised, but no one was there! I'm hoping that they'll learn how to communicate better by responding to calls or leaving a voice recording stating when they will open. No seafood buffet for me at this time. 😫

Nestled in the heart of Waikiki, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa offers a luxurious stay with stunning Pacific Ocean views. Guests can enjoy an urban oasis on the 8th floor with panoramic beach views, an infinity lap pool, hot tub, and a pool bar serving specialty cocktails.
I am inpatient to write a review: it was very nice and joyful experience! I highly recommend buying only 'ocean view' rooms. It's absolutely worth it! The hotel is located close to the beach, and we would enjoy the amazing ocean views every day. Also, they have a gameroom with shuffle board, pool, Foosball, and air hockey open from 10am to 10pm for all hotel guests for free, and it helped us have fun when we weren't on the beach. The customer service is very good. We had loud neighbors who were being loud late night and smoked, so we couldn't open a balcony. The receptionist politely helped us to move to another room. She was very nice and helpful.

My husband and I were very excited for our first time in Hawaii but we’re very disappointed with the mandatory "resort fee" of $55 daily during our recent five-day stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. It was quite disappointing to discover this charge for amenities that are typically complimentary at most hotels, such as pool access, towels, and game room facilities. We found this particularly frustrating as we did not utilize the pool and the daily activities often appeared to be unoccupied. While I understand that hotels may have additional charges, the mandatory nature of this fee, especially for services we did not use, significantly impacted our overall experience. An additional $255 for services not utilized, on top of the room rate and announced only upon arrival, is not something I believe provides value. I recommend you to consider how these fees affect your guests' perception and encourage you to allow your guests to make the most of their visit by exploring the beautiful island rather than feeling obligated to use paid amenities.

Had a great experience for our first time at a Marriott. The employees were all extremely friendly and welcoming. From the pool attendants to the cleaning staff everybody was very sweet. Got upgraded to an ocean view room which was beautiful. Lots of different amenities to choose from in the hotel and you are just a two minute walk from the beach so it’s a prime location. I would recommend coming here!

ATMOSPHERE: Located near the east end of Waikiki on a one-way street between Kuhio & Kalakaua Ave's. The hotel is not directly on the beach - it's separated by Kalakaua Ave but is as close to the beach you can get. Short walking distance to the zoo but a pretty good walk to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and the hot spots of central Waikiki. The entrance is nothing exciting. You're greeted with a valet desk, stairs and walls. There is a spacious reception desk and lobby bar with lounge area suited for the techie (outlets, outlets and more outlets!) Spacious, but no warm ambiance. You get the feel of being in a hotel in Asia with the light-colored ceramic tile treatment. ROOM: We've stayed her numerous times and most recently in the presidential suite. DINING: There are several options like Sansei and DK Steakhouse. POOL: We're not pool loungers while in Oahu but there is a small but nice outdoor pool located on I believe the 3rd floor. OVERALL: Nice location and great views.

We had a wonderful stay here. Rooms were clean, location was amazing right next to the beach! You are close to Ohua beach on the one hand, which is great for the smaller kidos (shallow, no waves), and to Queen's beach on the other hand, which is perfect for snorkling! The hotel gives you two free beach chairs every day, which were also very helpful. Overall nice staff, though it feels like everyone is just trying to sell you something. Overall we had a great experience, and would definitely come again.

Came here with my husband through a costco vacation package. The facility was nice; free beach towel rental, 2 pools (1 family, 1 Adult only), and a decent sized gym. While our room had a pretty great view of the ocean, it was unfortunately placed right beside the elevators. Around 6 am, you will be awaken by the frequent use of the elevators. It sounded like there was a rollercoaster right next to us. We also booked a king size bed, but what we got was definitely not that size. It was closer to a queen size bed which was disappointing. The room was overall clean, however some of the sheets we got had stains on it (it looked like it was cleaned, just had old "cleaned" stains). My husband unfortunately hurt himself and we were not able to enjoy our last day in hawaii, and so we requested for a late check out, only to be charged $175USD. What I don't understand is that my friend who was in a similar situation, requested for a late check out and got it for free. Doesn't seem like there's any consistency in treating guests. TLDR; Not worth the 4 star price.

I have to say that I am very disappointed. I had to move from my room that was a tad bit more quieter to a room that is facing the parking lot and there is noise, people slamming their car doors back-and-forth waking me up when I work 12 hours shifts a day. The reason why I’m making this review is because when I got my room switch my toilet seat was dirty housekeeping did not clean the toilet. It was brown as in someone had used the bathroom and did not clean up after themselves. I was totally grossed out. I did call the front desk, but I could not wait as I had to use the bathroom myself so thank goodness I had cleaning products and I cleaned the toilet and sanitized it myself. Not to mention my food went bad and I had to call to get another refrigerator delivered to my room, but I had already explained to the front desk and asked if I can get another refrigerator and they told me no, and they also told me that I was not able to switch rooms to a better one. Hot water gets turned off constantly, and there is construction being done on the balconies, which is annoying especially if you’re trying to sleep. Also before I made a switch to my room, which is more smaller housekeeping was also not cleaning my shower. I specifically took the privacy door off of the door to have them clean my room and when I came back to my room my shower Was not clean. There was one time they did not even give me any toilet paper.

My family stayed at the Marriott for about a week and we loved it! Perfect location in between everything. Since day one that we arrived Carl was extremely helpful & cheerful. He always went out of his way to talk to us and suggest places to visit. The room was very spacious and the rooftop view was breathtaking! Perfect for kids as well, my 5 year daughter had a blast in the pool. Definitely will be staying here whenever I return to Hawaii!

Fantastic hotel. Staff were extremely helpful. Doubt we could have found a better location. We had requested a twin room. Our room had 2 double beds but room was not cramped. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We had a corner room so had a view of the beach and a view of the city as well. Had an issue first day with our safe but a lovely gentleman arrived and sorted it immediately. The pool area is beautiful and dukes bar and restaurant served lovely food. Would recommend the fish tacos. The receptionist desk staff were extremely helpful. Hotel was peaceful at night so no issues sleeping in the extremely comfortable beds. Would definitely choose to stay here again

Our stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort was just grand. From the quick check in process to the simple check out. Of course, everything in between was perfect. We were lucky to be upgraded to a partial ocean view on the 16th floor. Our room was quite large and spotless. Getting to use elevator "D" was quite accommodating. All staff members were polite and very helpful. Having the free breakfast/lunch buffets at Dukes and The Hula Grill was a big plus. Having the beach and ocean just right outside of the resort was so convenient. Everything we needed was right at our doorstep. Every time was stay at the Outrigger, we renew our vows. The ceremony was simple, yet very personal, even though we were with several other couples. We look forward to returning to this wonderful resort.

We just stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and had a wonderful experience. I told the reservation agent that it was my husband's 60th birthday and when we got to our room (oceanfront) it had been upgraded to a jacuzzi room! That was a surprise and a welcome feature to have after a long day of swimming and exploring the island. We were on the 11th floor and the lively music from Duke's downstairs was almost unnoticeable when we closed the balcony doors. Housekeeping was friendly and thorough and everything was in working order. We've been to Waikiki several times and the oceanfront view, convenient breakfast downstairs at the Hula Grill and beach right out the back of the hotel made for a perfect stay.

This hotel is perfect.....easy access to the beach and local stores with an unbeatable ocean view!! It was beautifully decorated and clean. It was steps away from the shuttle bus stop and a short walk to the trolley our travel plan used. The ocean view from our room was spectacular! The staff was always pleasant and courteous. The food in the restaurants were outstanding! Would highly recommend!!!

This is my favorite hotel on Waikiki Beach. I've stayed here many times since 1989. We upgraded to an Ocean View room which had a beautiful view. It's worth noting that Duke's has entertainment at night and it can be loud if you're Ocean front or on a lower floor. Duke's and Hula Grill are both great restaurants on site, but can draw big crowds. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. The hotel staff were all amazing. They were professional, friendly, and always willing to go out of their way to ensure we were satisfied with our stay. At check in, we had an issue with our third party reservation and Henry (Guest Services) spent nearly two hours trying to help us fix it and never lost patience. The 3rd party error didn’t get resolved, but Henry made up for it and that first impression made our whole vacation. When we tried the cultural activities, Kekoa, went out of his way and spent a great deal of time discussing Hawaiian culture with us and I am sure told us things that we wouldn’t have learned about the deep culture elsewhere. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well kept. Housekeeping was super friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future.

Loved this place, me and the WHOLE FAM spent 10 days here and it was just great! POOL WAS BOMB!! I loved the poolside service the kids were ADDICTED to ordering all the virigin pinacoladas they could get, me and the wife were just having a grand time on the beach with cocktails in hand!! Whoo!! PRO TIP one of yall got to wake up at 5am to go get first pick on beach/pool chairs though man! That was quite the adventure. We had an ocean front view and I still remember it so clearly, sunset was always beautiful, the restaurant below always had nice music playing for ambiance. For reference I was in room 325. Best spending of my damn money. We didn't have to anywhere else but our hotel room honestly. TAKE ALL MY MONEY. Anyways, definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful 10 night stay here, rooms and bed very cosy and comfortable. Nice ocean view from the room. Lifts were one major flaw, sometimes waiting 5+ minutes because of the system they have in place, remedied this with staff guiding us to the slightly hidden staircase to utilise! Would definitely stay again :)

The Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach is a luxurious hotel located just steps away from the famous Waikiki Beach. The resort offers a range of amenities including restaurants, bars, tennis courts, an outdoor pool, and even an aquarium. Guests can enjoy access to the Island Club and Spa fitness facility, fitness classes, spa credits, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The concierge desk is available to help plan family-friendly activities such as sailing and snorkeling.
Our stay at the Alohilani Resort was amazing, but the true highlight was spending time in the resort’s Longboard Club! From start to finish, the experience there was incredible. Anson, Belle, and Nancy were beyond attentive—so kind, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful in the way they cared for every guest. And then there was William, the chef, who absolutely lit up the room with his energy. He greeted us with so much enthusiasm each time we walked in, served up delicious pasta, and truly went the extra mile. On our second visit, he even surprised us with a cupcake to celebrate a birthday—just because he remembered! The Longboard Club made our trip feel extra special and was easily one of the best perks of staying at the Alohilani. We can’t recommend it enough! Only reason I gave it a 2 star for rooms is because the bathrooms are too small and outdated interiors. The bathroom interior requires an update

We spent 5 nights at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, and our stay was wonderful! We always try to book a room with a nice view, so we chose an oceanfront room with a king bed — and it was absolutely amazing. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and that stunning view was the highlight of our mornings. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and our room was spotless, comfortable, and cozy throughout our stay. I’m a coffee lover, and I really appreciated that the housekeeping team always left us extra coffee pods. The location couldn’t be better — the beach is right across the street, and there’s an ABC Store conveniently located in the hotel that’s open until 11 p.m. They have everything you might need during your vacation. Restaurants and shopping areas are just a short walk away. Guests can pick up beach towels in the lobby and even rent beach chairs, umbrellas, and bodyboards for free at the Beach Candy Store — such a great bonus! The pool and spa areas were a bit busy at times, and it could be hard to find a spot, but overall the facilities were nice and well-maintained. I wish the bar offered a wider variety of food options, as we couldn’t find much that suited our taste. Parking was very convenient, and self-parking costs $50 per night. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend the Alohilani Resort to our friends and family. If we visit Hawaii again, we’ll happily stay here again!

We had a really good stay at the ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. The view from our room was amazing, you can see the ocean and the city, which makes it a perfect spot to relax. The service was great; the staff were friendly, helpful, and always made sure everything was taken care of. The location is also a big plus! It’s right across from the beach and close to lots of great restaurants, shops, and attractions, so you can easily explore Waikiki without needing to go far. The resort itself has a nice atmosphere, clean rooms, and good amenities. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay in Waikiki if you want comfort, convenience, and beautiful views. We would definitely come back!

We were very disappointed with our recent stay, as it did not meet the standards we expected from a 5-star property. This was our 6th time staying here and past experiences where great. But something changed. Upon arrival, reception did not great us the way they've always greeted us. No one offered to help with bags. Once we checked in we were on our own. The coffee shop in the lobby is gone, the Italian restaurant gone! We were never offered the option for the buffet nor where to get coffee near the hotel. We had to walk to the Westin for coffee. While checking out the valet told us there was a coffee place next to the ABC. Wish someone would've shared that with us. Unfortunately, there was ongoing construction that started early morning. It was disruptive and frustrating, especially since guests were not informed about it in advance. We enjoy sleeping in while on vacation, but it was impossible since drilling started since early morning, forcing you out of the room. Additionally, some basic amenities were missing there were no complimentary toiletries or bathrobes provided, which was surprising for a hotel of this level and because we've had them previous stays. Parking was also inconvenient and added unnecessary stress to the stay. Someone damaged our rental car, hard to make anyone responsible, we had to deal with the consequences of that. Another concern was the cleanliness of the water stations, which appeared neglected and were not cleaned regularly. The hotel encourages you to use the reusable bottles, but the stations lack cleanliness. So we never used them. We brought up these issues to the staff and while we were not looking for compensation, they added $200 credit for food, which was very generous of them. However, the construction noise continued to inconvenience our stay. This stay was sadly the most disappointing. Based on this experience, we won't be returning in the future. We truly hope this hotel goes back to what it was years ago and improves the guest experience for others.

This is definitely not a 5 star experience. I would not stay here again. They lost a $200 package that was delivered to the hotel confirmed by USPS tracking. They offered to reimburse but I have to file a claim blah blah blah - more stress on what was supposed to be a stress free fun trip. Check in took almost 30 min. One of the keys didn’t work and needed replaced immediately. The room has obvious signs of wear. The noise level in the rooms is unacceptable for a 5-star property. The price point with an Amex promotion is the only reason I chose this place and I feel both misled about the hotel class and pissed off that they lost a vital package. What’s the point of having all of these services if they are done poorly? To provide more opportunities to disappoint? The furniture and decor feels like Homegoods++. This is a value hotel with a lot of mediocre services and I wanted an actual luxury experience that provides a stress free, smooth vacation. Should have believed the price tag, my bad.

We stayed at the Alohilani Resort in Waikīkī and it was a fantastic choice. You’re right in the middle of all the fun — from the beautiful white sand beach to plenty of restaurants just steps away. The staff was amazing and they really made sure we had everything we needed. They’ve got all the amenities you could ask for, from valet parking to a gorgeous rooftop pool. In other words, if you’re looking for a place that puts you right in the heart of Waikīkī with top-notch service and a great vibe, this is definitely it.
William J — Google review
Alohalani Resort Waikiki, a property marketed as a “luxurious, modern Oahu resort just steps from the beach,” and featured prominently in luxury travel publications and websites. Marketing claims; exceptional guest experience, high-quality service, and a “luxury” standard. Underwhelmed to say the least. Upon arrival, the reception area was impressive and in line how they are marketed clean, modern, and stylish. Check-in process, however, much to be desired; minimal information about the resort or the surrounding area, was invited to scan a QR code for details. Reception staff were friendly but lack of personal interaction felt out of place for a resort in this caliber. We asked for lei’s & we’re told to pay for them as it’s only for certain packages or special occasions. You can buy them from the supermarket for cheaper. Arrival could’ve been something special, first impressions count; a warm welcome to set the scene, you’re at one of the best resorts in Waikiki. The unused, u/s bar area that is not advertised or listed as under renovations to be clear. You have concierge, a bell team & arriving it’s not a used product. Walking past the bar area that is supposed to be a feature of the property, was an eye-opener. Advertised as a “show-stopping bar overlooking an oceanarium,” the two bars were not in service & stripped, the lounge area lacked any real charm or atmosphere. Missed opportunity to create a unique guest experience. The hallway areas adjacent to the lifts featured a filtered water station & what looked like individual workstations but it was unclear whether it was for guest or staff use We stayed in one of the hotel’s base category rooms, which was a major letdown. 4.5+ star hotel the bar for the hotel room stars there. The room was incredibly dated, not in line with the “elegant, airy guest rooms cultivated for calm and relaxation” that the hotel promises. The room was a far cry from the sleek & modern space promised. If you need any toiletries, they don’t supply anything. The condition of the room was overall dirty, and dated. I took photos and went to reception to report the issue. They agreed to change our room as I refused to use a bathroom in that condition. The second room was a bit cleaner, it didn’t come close to the calibre advertised. Some issues included: * Stained towels that should never make it to a hotel room. * Dirty TV with * The tv screen colour was not fully working * Tap handles dirty. * Dirty mirror * Corroded taps & toilet that required you to hold the flush down to flush * old carpet * TV cabinet with visible mould. * A poorly maintained air-conditioning unit with debris inside & dirt on the wall directly above it. * Filthy glassware, which I took to reception. * Mould in the bathroom sink. * TV remote was flat. * Dents and paint chips all throughout the room. Though the hotel is just steps from Waikiki Beach, the experience is to be desired. Windows are thin, expect to hear the city & upstairs neighbours. It was difficult to fully relax or enjoy the peaceful Hawaiian atmosphere. The pool area, was definitely more luxurious in the photos. During sunset, it felt more like a public swimming pool than a luxury resort experience, spa overcrowded. While the staff were friendly, the overall experience was not enough to make up for the poor quality of the facilities. The hotel is situated just steps from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the famous Waikiki shoreline. Prime location-underwhelming quality. They failed to meet the advertised “quality & experience” that it promises as advertised. Marketing paints a picture of modern elegance & exceptional service, but the reality is a dated, poorly maintained property with significant gaps in service & quality. We came to indulge in a 5 star hotel & ended up in a room suited for a 3.5 star hotel. Personally I would not return or recommend this property. It may be close to the beach, but the lack of luxury & attention to detail is not worth price point. Photos attached.

I chose this resort for my solo birthday trip and was initially impressed — great location across from the beach and decent amenities. Unfortunately, my stay was ruined by a false accusation that I had been smoking in my room. Two days before checkout, I was told I’d be charged $500 for smoking, which was completely untrue. When I asked the guest services manager to explain how their detection device worked, he couldn’t give a clear answer and only showed me a vague chart that didn’t make sense. According to it, the “smoke activity” went from 0 to 10 and back to 0 — which isn’t how smoke behaves. Despite my explanations (and the fact that I was napping at the alleged time), security came to my door with a letter accusing me anyway. The manager insisted I wasn’t being “accused,” even though the letter said otherwise. The experience left me anxious and uncomfortable for the rest of my stay, worried they might knock again or charge me for something I didn’t do. I eventually got the charge removed, but the stress and time I spent fighting it completely ruined what should have been a relaxing birthday trip. I can’t recommend this hotel — if they can falsely accuse and attempt to charge you without solid evidence, your vacation could easily turn into a nightmare like mine.

While not directly beachfront, it's just a short walk from one of the most famous beaches in the country. This affordable hotel provides guests with the opportunity to experience the spirit of aloha and offers cultural activities daily.
First time that we stayed here. Nice welcoming lobby. Good staff. Good maintenance. Good-sized pool and a nice bar. They have a couple of pool tables and table tennis. Plenty of sitting areas to rest after a hot day. The location is amazing. Right next to the International Market and across the street is Waikiki Beach. Our partial ocean view is awesome. The balcony is big enough to enjoy sitting out. Would love to stay here again.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The newly renovated rooms are beautiful, spotless, and extremely comfortable. Bobby and Erin at the reception provided exceptional service, so kind and attentive, they solved all my issues and made my stay even better. I loved the hotel so much that I extended my stay for an extra night. Highly recommend! The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to everything you need.

Overall the room that we stayed in was nice and clean the beds are very comfortable, the shower pressure is amazing. The only thing that I felt was lacking is the service at the hotels Cafe although the food is great the horrible service takes away from having a wonderful dinning experience. The servers seem to have an attitude along with a sour face, when you request something as simple as soy sauce you will ask several times and even then it will take 15-20 min until you ask a different server. I will say to the ones that actually being out your food have a very nice and happy attitude.

We stayed in the renovated wing of this hotel and generally had a good experience, but with a few unfortunate flaws. The staff were truly friendly and personable, and service was quite good. The room was very comfortable and functional. The climate control worked brilliantly. The beds were nicely firm and the pillows were wonderfully flexible. We were able to easily stream videos from our tablet over the TV. The bathroom was quite fine, with a very good shower nozzle. A second hand-towel rack would have been a helpful feature, though. The major room flaw was lack of sound insulation of the sliding glass door to the balcony. Noise from the outside was barely reduced. Fortunately, our room did not face the street. Even so, we could hear all the goings-on by street performers and their crowds, plus every loud vehicle passing by. I like to retire to my room and feel safe and insulated from the sounds of the city, in a quiet respite. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Setting the climate control’s fan to high helped mask the street noise, though. Even just a bit of basic weatherstripping around the door could greatly reduce the street noise. One other unfortunate experience was the music at the pool. The volume was constantly loud, making it impossible to read by the pool. And worse, the hotel stood up performers singing overplayed classic rock hits, and this did not elevate the vibe. There was, fortunately, a DJ at times playing a more avant gard soundtrack, and I counted this a big plus. A deeper renovation of this hotel involving replacing the aging sliding doors with modern double-glazed glass doors would make this place an urban oasis, and a standout winner compared with most other hotels in the area.

We stayed 2 nights here. We intended to stay one night here but we booked the hotel from the Mainland and we flew in from Japan. We hadn't considered the International Date Line and we needed to add another night. That was no problem! Lovely little hotel with a great layout. Two elevators were out, so it was really crowded every trip. The rooms are in the process of being upgraded but don't get all excited about that. They are still fundamentally a 1960s ish room. Laundry is available but it is $6 a load to wash and $6 to dry! The staff in wonderful. The nightly singer by the pool is great. The food at the bar is very good. The pool does close at 7pm though.

Cannot beat the location. Normal rooms that need a bit of updating. We were in the tower facing the international market. Waikiki Beach is steps away. Tons of food options on the main drag but expensive. Go a block off beach and food is 25% less and local not chain food. Nice swimming pool. Tha splash restaurant is a mediocre high priced restaurant on property. Zoo,beaches, public transport to sites is very close and convenient. We were here for a convention. Nice experience overall.

LOUD! Nice location. Elevators are fast. Rooms are small and outdated. Very loud, karaoke goes well past noise ordinance curfew which hotel staff openly encourage. Noises bounce off of surrounding buildings and outdated glass doors are not insulated for sound proofing. Not a peaceful or family friendly beach stay as you may suspect. Noise does become bearable about 2am
Lauren S — Google review
Great stay, Bryce and the front desk and Lance a breakfast definitely added to the experience. Location is perfect not overly trafficked on the beach but close enough for all Waikiki has to offer. Room was cool and comfortable and the view from the 16th floor was fine. Lobby is dated but the staff more than make up for it.

The rooms are very nice with great views. Everyone has been very friendly since we arrived. The valet staff is very helpful with information about Oahu. The bed is comfortable and the view from the bed is unbelievable beautiful. I would definitely stay here again and i would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Waikiki. The pool is great good drinks, food and great views. One thing I really like about Prince Waikiki is that it is quite very peaceful stay so far. We have three more nights left here and I'm sure we will enjoy them as much as the first two nights. Great place to stay in Waikiki. Again the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The view outside our Harbour room was amazing. I love the infinity pool, however the hot tub area is a bit small. There were guests who were there for the full 2 hours we were there so we couldn't use the facilities. I wish they'd have better monitoring for that. The restaurants inside were great options and it's nice to have a honolulu cafe right in the lobby. The lobby seating was never full, so we can always lie down and enjoy our coffee before heading out. The location was further from the waikiki beach, but just a 5 minute walk away. The fact that it wasn't right on the beach meant it was more quiet, which I liked about the hotel area. It wasn't packed with tourists. On one side was waikiki beach and the other side was Ala Moana centre, which had the large mall. Convenient 3 minute walk to the mall. Would stay with Prince again if I come back yo honolulu.

We had a wonderful stay at Prince Waikiki! The location is perfect — close to the beach, Ala Moana Center, and many great restaurants, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The hotel’s modern design and stylish interiors create a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness was impressive throughout the property. The service was outstanding — every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. From check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly, and we truly felt taken care of.

I stayed at this hotel in Hawaii for four nights, and while I initially appreciated the discounted rate, my experience on the last night completely ruined my impression of the property. Two nights in a row, I tried to use the hot tub around dusk, but it was always packed with people who stayed for long periods of time. There were no signs or staff reminders about being courteous or limiting time to 15 minutes so others could enjoy it — something I would expect at a resort claiming to be four stars. On my final night, it was raining, so I decided to sit in one of the cabanas near the pool. Several of them (at least ten) were marked “Reserved,” yet no one was using them. After I sat down, a staff member told me I had to leave because they were reserved — even though no guests were actually there. I politely explained that this was the first time during my stay I had even tried to use the hotel facilities, and I would gladly move if someone returned. Despite this, they refused and said I couldn’t sit there at all. Meanwhile, the hot tub was still full of people who had clearly been there for a long time. The situation made it clear that the hotel staff prioritize arbitrary “rules” over basic guest comfort or fairness. Overall, this experience left a very bad taste at the end of my trip. The staff’s lack of flexibility and care for paying guests was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing or customer-focused stay.
Dominick L — Google review
I will caveat up front that the full 5-star is including the package which gives you access to the vip area, which provides basically all-inclusive food as long as you go at the right times. The view from there and the seaside rooms is lovely. The room was lovely and clean, lobby feels very luxury-hotel. My only issue was that it was a bit of a hike to the beach or activities. I’m sure that’s why it has a lower price point than the beachfront hotels, so I get that, I just would recommend really considering your personal preferences and physical health to decide if the saving is worth it — it was for us since we’re young-ish and healthy-ish, but something for families or older or health-compromised folks to know.

We especially want to thank Annie, a Japanese staff member at the front desk, for her kindness and warm hospitality. I haven't officially stayed here as a guest, yet. But my family has come here on many occasions for breakfast or lunch at their plumeria beach house resturaunt. It's a beautiful location where you can see the ocean, as well as when you're done eating, you're free to roam the area and see the beautiful architecture and structure of the hotel. They also have Dolphins here that you get to see. Which they are quite playful. Just...for me, I have my own personal views on this. But beside that, none the less and regardless, it's how they get attention as a tourist attraction. And these Dolphins have sprayed me with water with water on occasion as I would watch them, of course they don't do it purposefully, but as a small playful gesture to some guests who just kinda stand there watching. But the food here is incredible and of good quality. 👍 Good for parties as well, cuz we hosted a party of about 20 and they helped with providing one choice bentos for everyone, which were surprisingly well catered. And good for birthdays as well. ^_^ So please check out the Kahala Hotel and Resort, as it is a beautiful area and their beach area is quite nice as well. :3

We couldn't believe how well the staff took care of us - as simple as cleaning and organizing our rooms for us while we were out and about. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Also this hotel is very quiet. It's tucked away from the city. Our beach was also quiet and not crowded at all.

We loved our stay at The Kahala Hotel! The property is stunning and so peaceful. Our ocean view room was perfect with breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, and I bet the golf course views were amazing too. The food was great, and the breakfast buffet was unmatched. Plumeria Beach House was our favorite spot with delicious food and beautiful indoor-outdoor seating right by the private Beach. Seeing the dolphins up close was interesting but also a little heartbreaking. They are such smart, social animals, and the swimming space isn’t big or deep, with their backs exposed most of the time. It felt like such a small space for them. Overall, the property feels posh yet relaxed, the staff were amazing, and the turn-down service was such a nice touch. Great stay barring the dolphin enclosure!

We spent a resort day at The Kahala Hotel & Resort and it was absolutely amazing! The pool and beach setup with private chairs facing the beautiful ocean made for the perfect relaxing day. The food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing, and every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and welcoming. While we didn’t stay overnight, if we were to plan a full vacation in Hawaii, this would definitely be the place. A special bonus was watching the dolphins with their trainers throughout the day—it was such a unique and wonderful experience to see. Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable time in Honolulu! Thank you for an amazing day!

This is a great hotel. I stayed for a week. However I was really bothered that 6 dolphins are kept captive here. They have never known a moment of freedom in their lives (they range in age from 17 to 40 years). In the wild, these majestic and intelligent animals swim for miles and dive deep and live in complex social structures in their pods. Here they have none of that, instead they jump for fish and pose for photographs with tourists. This is no way to treat animals.

This is a lovely hotel with beautiful rooms, a beautiful beach, great staff, and good food. I would love to stay there again but they have dolphins in captivity. In 2025! This is torture for them - like solitary confinement for dolphins. There's just no excuse.

Decent location. Rooms are nice. Great A/C. Water pressure was good. Microwave and fridge in room. No breakfast provided. Restaurant in lobby, and you receive a discount. Front desk usually has a line. Wait for elevators as well.

It's fine. For the super convenient location. It's pretty good. Good pillows. Keurig with coffee, small fridge that's actually cold. It's right across the street from Target, so you can pick up bottled water, sodas and snacks and save tons of $$$. Valet parking is the only choice unless you want to park across the street at the mall. You can take the Waikiki Trolley to get around the area-its a fun ride. Decent budget stay.

Great value for money! Conveniently located across from the International Marketplace and Target, and just one street from Waikiki Beach. We’re a family of four and our room with two double beds was spacious and clean. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the coin laundry was a plus. Pool bar staff were especially welcoming—great cocktails too!

Stayed with my family for a week. The hotel and room was very clean and comfortable. We had a small balcony and 2 double beds. We used the pool a few times and they also had a water refill station there so we used that everyday for our water bottles. The shopping center and target were directly across the street. It was only a few minute walk to Waikīkī beach. We did self parking for our car everyday in the shopping center for $35 instead of $55 at the hotel. Also used the laundry facilities that was a total of $9.
Nicole B — Google review
Overall, I was very pleased. My room was a good size, clean and the amenities were all in good condition. Probably unavoidable, but the force with which room doors close is jarringly noisy especially late at night. I don't recommend a street-facing room as street noise echoes and magnifies as it bounces from one tall building against the next as it travels upward. For my purposes, the location was great. It's an easy walk to the sandy beaches of Waikiki with food options and shops all around. My scuba diving provider was only 1 block away. Hidden surprises: 1) there is a free filtered water dispenser next to the pool; 2) the hotel provides free 50 SPF sunscreen (pretty sure it's "reef safe") next to the pool. Though I had my CC temporarily charged an extra $200 at check in, that was reversed at check out and I was only charged the exact amount of my booking. To those reviews saying they got charged for smoking though they claim innocence, I wonder if it's possible: 1) you smoked/vaped anyway thinking you could get away with it? 2) you left your room in a miserable state for housekeeping to deal with? 3) you didn't leave even a small gratuity in your room for housekeeping? 4) you were otherwise a challenging hotel guest? Maybe not, right? But, maybe... My one negative comment is that the online check in for Hilton Honors members didn't work. No matter what I tried, "my details could not be confirmed." I've been a member for about 20 years. Check in at the front desk was quick and easy.

For business trips, you typically will be a repeat customer to a hotel if it satisfies your needs and can give you some of your wants. This hotel meets my needs and gives me some of my wants! Centrally located in Waikiki across from the International Marketplace and a 5 minute walk to the beach to unwind after work, the hotel is near many restaurants and yet is quiet if you need the sleep! Housekeeping (thanks Joy!) is great. Valet parking can take some time during peak hours but that's expected. Pool and bar are also relaxing and never too crowded to relax. Hope to be back for business or personal travel!

The hotel is clean. The staff is friendly. Location is on the second busiest street with many restaurants and shopping. There is also a hidden flea market next to Ross parking garage(you have to walk into the garage to the back, there is an alley way with many small stalls). The hotel locate about 5-10 min walk to the beach.

The OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel offers a modern stay with tropical-themed decor and an inviting outdoor pool. The hotel's Tiki's restaurant exudes the charm of old tiki bars, featuring Pacific region artifacts and serving island-inspired dishes. Centrally located in Honolulu, guests have easy access to Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park, and the Honolulu Zoo. Excellent hotel. Location is perfect. Ocean view room was updated and awesome. Rooms were clean and quiet. Both on site restaurants were great! Aroma cafe was awesome and MBC was open late with a great selection of beverages. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and will stay here if I am in Waikiki again without hesitation.

What a great stay! Immediately we were greeted warmly by the valet. All of the valet staff were prompt and professional. Our room was clean and spacious. The cleaning staff was amazingly quick; we’d leave at 8am to come back a few hours later all clean. The walls can be a little thin- there was an evening we could hear loud music on waikiki. We booked on costco which afforded us breakfast vouchers at their cafe which saved us a ton of time not having to figure out breakfast. Convenience wise this was top notch. There is on-site laundry. Since you’re not directly on the beach (literally across the street) it’s easier to get the rental car out of the valet or take Duke’s lane away from Kalakaua Ave. Oh and watch Auana if you can- the Cirque du Soleil show hosted there. As someone who used to live in Vegas this held up to Vegas showmanship standards while showcasing local Hawaiian traditions. Thanks for the great stay!

We stayed between the 7th - 14th September and loved our stay here. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. The staff are so helpful and friendly and checking in and out was a breeze! Its the best location with beach, shops and food at your doorstep. Au'ana is a definite must see at the resort! Its worth every penny! Thank you Waikiki Beachcomber for making our stay a memorable one! Hope to see you again!!

The location is excellent—highly recommended if you're more into shopping and dining rather than spending time at the beach. Everything is conveniently close to the hotel, which made getting around really easy. The only downside was the AC vent in my room, which was positioned right next to the bed. It made the air feel dry and left my throat feeling dusty and uncomfortable during the night.
Lauren K — Google review
Such a great location. Beautiful views. Great pool. Special mention to the beautiful housekeepers. Rooms were cleaned perfectly each day, very thorough, and the ladies are so lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Lucy — Google review
We had a nice family stay, and overall, the room and lobby had a great atmosphere. However, one thing that stood out negatively was the staff’s cleaning method outside the entrance area. While I was waiting for my Uber, a staff was using a strong blower to clear the dust, which created a lot of noise and blew debris around. It was unpleasant, especially for guests standing nearby. I would suggest that the staff use sweeping instead of blowing the dust. It would help maintain both cleanliness and comfort without disturbing the guests’ experience.
Jen M — Google review
This hotel was perfect for our vibe which was a young couple. It was perfectly situated a 3 min walk to the beach but cheaper then all the beachfront hotels that were across the street. They have a fitness facility that is excellent. The pool and cafe staff was always lively and accommodating. You can get as many towels as you need to bring to the beach. The rooms always cleaned perfectly everyday. The new cirque de solei show is also located right in the hotel. What a show definitely recommend. This hotel was perfect to celebrate our new engagement! 10/10 recommend to any young or old couples that don't mind being in the heart of the city where all the action is.

If you want to stay on Waikiki beach without breaking the bank...this is the perfect hotel for you. Location was absolutely desirable, the beach was just across the street. Was very easy to go from our room to the beach and vise versa. Right on the strip for all of your shopping needs. The rooms were spacious, clean, and we got a great view of diamond head also. Close to our rent a car which was next door at the international marketplace. Just a great place to stay in Waikiki, would absolutely recommend it.

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach is a sophisticated hotel located in central Waikiki, offering a warm tapas restaurant and an outdoor splash pool with ocean views. The property features a lounge with a wading pool, large jacuzzi, and outdoor fire pits. Each room is equipped with modern amenities including a 55" flat-screen TV, in-room coffee maker, mini refrigerator, and clock. Guests can enjoy various views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
We were so glad we chose this hotel for our stay! The location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach, one block from the canal, and close to great restaurants and shopping. The hotel provided chairs and towels which is convenient for the beach. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. There's also a dining area with a microwave, and stations for water and ice. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we visit.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Centric, and it’s easy to see why this hotel is a great choice for beach lovers and those seeking a convenient, comfortable stay. The hotel is impeccably clean, which immediately set a positive tone for our visit. The amenities provided, particularly the chaise lounges and umbrellas for the beach, were a perfect match for us as we spent most of our days by the ocean. These thoughtful touches made our beach trips hassle-free and enjoyable. The gym and hot tub were standout features—both were fantastic and well-maintained, offering a great way to unwind or stay active. However, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a swimming pool, which would have been a nice addition for those moments when we didn’t want to head to the beach. The service at Hyatt Centric was exceptional. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel also felt very safe, which was especially reassuring since we enjoyed walking around at night and returning late. Its location is a major plus—just a 5-7 minute walk to the beach and conveniently close to restaurants and shopping areas, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, the Hyatt Centric is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a clean, safe, and well-located hotel with great amenities for beachgoers. While a pool would have been nice, the excellent service and proximity to local attractions more than made up for it. I’d happily stay here again!

We were here for our first visit to Hawaii, and it has been a wonderful experience so far. The hotel gave us a complementary upgrade which was highly appreciated the roo. Was spacious, clean and all we needed for a relaxing holiday. I will say that we like our holidays out and about, so we mostly need a clean and comfortable place to sleep. The location is wonderful everything is walking distance. So we will definitely consider to come back here if we come again to the area.
Shere B — Google review
The hotel is very nice and new. However, very disappointed in learning it was a wade pool and not a full pool. They have the room for it and is located in Hawai’i, why no pool?? The elevators were too fast and rough, got motion sickness every time we rode it. We got upgraded to a penthouse so that made the stay worth it. The location is great if you love city life, but beware the rooms are soundproof and you can hear everything going on down below. Not recommended for someone wanting peace and quiet. Also wasn’t a fan that when I booked the hotel, I selected “show all taxes and fees” but was told there is a resort fee when I got there. When you include the resort fee in the total price, it’s equivalent to nicer hotels closer to the beach with actual pools. Why pay a resort fee when it’s not an actual resort: no breakfast, no pool, no garden area, no nice amenities.
Myckaela H — Google review
What a perfect stay we had at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki. Location was central to everything we needed. ABC shops on every corner around the hotel. Starbucks attached. Restaurants everywhere including Aloha Steakhouse across the street. Walk to the beach was less than 5 minites. Room was spacious, clean and modern. Staff were amazing. We had fantastic ocean views.

This has to be the best hotel I’ve stayed at! The staff was amazing and very helpful in every way. The views were great, the hotels was extremely clean. Not one negative thing to say. My family will be only staying at this hotel moving forward.

We loved our stay at this hotel! All of the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They were quick with housekeeping requests and Travis at the valet / front concierge area in particular made our stay memorable with his cheerfulness and thoughtful offer of an umbrella when we headed out in the rain. We hope to stay at the Hyatt Centric next time we’re back!

The Pagoda Hotel is a charming lodging option with modern amenities and spacious rooms. The hotel provides easy access to popular tourist attractions, historic landmarks, local stores, and shops. Guests can enjoy on-site features such as an outdoor pool, day spa, fitness center, and convenient parking.
I was kinda skeptical at first considering how affordable this hotel was compared to others. It is in a great location and they offer $5 breakfast at their restaurant which was great! The food was so good. This coupon was good for two people. The rooms were decent. Best bang for your buck hotel!!
Adarsha S — Google review
We had booked this hotel in Honolulu due to the affordability factor, so it feels like we got what we paid for BUT still wanted to write a review. Our booking said we would have a kitchenette in our room and we didn’t even have a microwave. The walls were super thin, we heard everything in the rooms around us…😬 fan was super loud. The key to go up on the elevator hardly ever worked. The hotel staff was not friendly and seemed annoyed with us whenever we needed anything (like a new key to the elevator). There was a false alarm fire alarm that went off one of the days. The location was pretty good. It’s abt a 10 minute drive to Waikiki and there’s a beach 8 minutes away. Walking distance to a Sam’s club and Walmart and the Ala Moana center. If you don’t have a car, I recommend finding somewhere walking distance to the beach.
Lily J — Google review
There were cockroaches everywhere—even crawling on us while we slept. Absolutely disgusting. The overnight staff was terrible; they seriously need help and proper training. Our room key stopped working every single day, without fail. We’re giving 3 stars only because Walmart was conveniently right next door. Otherwise, it would be lower. There was black mold under the sink, and housekeeping apparently doesn’t clean rooms daily—which is wild, considering how filthy the place is. Good times! So glad we didn’t have to stay any longer than we did. If you’re into bugs, mold, and staff that doesn’t care, you’ll love it here.

me and my wife stayed there paid by the Department of Human services, while awaiting our baby girl birth 2023. we loved it and miss it everyday we stare at our baby. she is 3 now and this hotel gave us a lifetime memory, of my very first baby. this hotel beats all hotels in the area, and the front desk was super nice , very nice people. i give this lifetime memory 5 stars no matter what.

My friends and I had an amazing stay at the Pagoda hotel. The staff were accommodating, kind and sweet. The $5 breakfasts were delicious and sometimes better than the food we had outside. The location was convenient and in walking distance: • Walmart - 5 min • Don Quijonte - 5 min • Ala Moana Mall - 15 min • Ala Moana Beach - 20 min The parking lot is an actual lot in comparison to the hotel stays that I had been to before. We did encounter a couple of inconveniences but it didn’t ruin our stay at the hotel: • Summer renovations - one of the elevators being used by the construction crew during the weekday. • Key cards for the elevator and pool - sometimes the reader doesn’t recognize the card so you may need to try a couple of times for it to work. The highlight of our stay was the staffs recognizing us and giving us local treats on the house. I highly recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Honolulu, Oahu. Thank you the Pagoda staff for making our stay memorable!

A decent place for a fair price in an excellent central location. Rooms are clean and spacious. Good customer service. They kept my luggage for me even after I checked out.

Housekeeping will come into your room at any moment. I’m on the toilet when they used a special key to unlock our door. I was embarrassed. It happened again for 5 days straight. My children were getting dressed. Not safe. They also made fun of us for being frustrated. They are not only rude but pushy. Will not be staying here again.

This place is so awesome. Me and my family eat here every other week and it’s always so delicious. Their service is super fast and they are welcoming. The food is the bomb, it’s so delicious and they have a wide variety of different foods. The atmosphere is nice too because it’s a nice lively vibe with everybody laughing and having a good time. <3 this place

It’s fun. Pick your own ingredients from off of a conveyor belt as they pass by, stick them in your individual pot of broth and wait for them to cook, eat, and enjoy. The variety of broth range from a mild, creamy coconut base. To spicy meat flavours, and also a healthy vegetarian. I chose the healthy vegetarian and was fully satisfied with its simplicity, which allowed for flavours to expand as ingredients were added to the pot of broth. Are a lot of seafood options, and each diner gets a choice of meat slices. I chose the lamb, my friend chose the pork belly. Both meats were mild in flavour. The sauce bar adds depth to what you’re eating, and diners can pick their own combinations. This place is BYOB, which is great. It’s pretty casual here. On Christmas , the all-you-can-eat was $39 per person for adults. Service is friendly & efficient.

Super fun and chill hot pot spot! You get your own pot and grab fresh ingredients from a conveyor belt—meats, veggies, seafood, you name it. Tons of broth and sauce options to mix it up your way. Everything’s fresh, the vibe is casual, and the staff is friendly. Great for groups or even solo. Solid prices too. Definitely coming back!

This place varies from other hot pots. Besides the choice cuts a meat you get there is a huge variety of other food options for your pot. With no additional charge. The staff there are polite, courteous, and respectful. I appreciated that they appreciated my family and I taking the time to dine at their establishment. Sorry I didn't take any photos.

Really a nice place to go when you are hungry with an awesome all you can eat deal. The place is set up very nice with a conveyor system that has a constant supply of fresh veggies, fish balls and dumplings. Fresh meats including rib eye, lamb and pork can be requested from your server. The kitchen is very clean and clearly visible through the large window on the back wall. Lots of patio seating on the front of the store. This place is located in the new 808 building across from the Wal-Mart garage on the bottom floor. They offer free valet parking in a unique elevator parking system. Very reasonable food and beverage pricing. We had all you can eat for two was under 60 bucks and we stayed about 2 hours. We loved this place and recommend it to others.

We had a great and fun dinner! Cozy but clean place. Fast and friendly service. Miso soup base is highly recommended. We did individual soup. Meat choices were ribeye, premium beef and pork belly, more other meats are available. Shrimp, shell fish and fish are also available. I love their condiment corner, I usually experiment and make my own mix of spicy yummy sauce. We had the deep fried ice cream!
SUSAN A — Google review
Best of all you can eat. A lot of different varieties or meat, sea food and vegetables. Most of the items will revolve around over the belt. If you are not getting it over the belt just walk and pick up. Good facilities. Do not try seafood base, its bland try some other soup base to enjoy best taste of the place. If you do not like spice than you can try the seafood one.

Shore Bird Restaurant & Beach Bar is a popular spot where guests can cook their own meats and veggies at beachside grills while enjoying the beautiful sunset. The drink menu is highly praised, with the Maui Wowie being a standout choice. While some find the food to be average, the stunning beach view and relaxed atmosphere make it a must-visit in Hawaii.
Awesome waiter Kash. Amazing view. Had to work for my food, haha, grill it yourself is a cool experience. Very relaxing and don't feel rushed. Got to enjoy very cold beer after dinner as the sun began to set.

Olga Z — Google review
I had to leave a review after seeing several reviews that frankly don't make sense. I've been to the Shorebird 20+ times. Service is always impeccable. Salad bar, Chili, Potato Salad is great and Yes--: this is a grill your own Protein place. Which is what they tell you every time you get to the restaurant and meet the hostess. So for those that don't get it or don't listen, leave and don't leave a review! This place isn't for you, it's for the other million of people that come here every year. I highly recommend the any of the items to grill, but I usually get the Sirloin, which is a great cut and always tender. They have spices, sauces , etc to make it perfect. As I grill my perfect steak, looking out at beautiful Waikiki beach and the sunset, I also grill some pineapple from the salad bar, and make my own grilled garlic bread. Another tip- is to check out their website before you go as there is always a buy one entre, get one for 50% off. Cannot beat that! Great service, food and location!!! Must go if staying in Waikiki.

Arrived at 4:00pm, asked if I had a reservation, .. No..., there will be 30 minute wait, ... OK... 4:30pm seated, approximately 50 some tables in the dinning area, all empty, seated in the bar area. Grill your own system explained, server arrived at the table at 4:52pm. Roughly an hour after arrival we finally have drinks and the open, all-you-can-eat salad bar is offered. More like a pasta bar, ended up with lettuce, onions, cheese and dressing, no tomatoes, no cucumbers, no sunflower seeds, no ham or bacon, none of the things I have come to expect as standard on a salad bar, nothing else looked appetizing. Salad finished along with drink, 10 minutes later server arrives with steaks, bread and mushroom and onions (more like mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms and onion). Let's cook, grill area very hot, seasonings are plentiful, but right next to the grill so it is very hot and difficult to season properly. Cooking times were adequately explained so that the food came out properly cooked and the steaks were cooked just as we liked them, but they were a little tough and not seasoned very well. Blame the cook right, oh yeah, we didn't have one. Premium price and I have to do the work. 3 or 4 times while eating I reached for my drink, oh yeah it was empty before I finished the salad. 3/4 of the way through the meal I finally get a refill on my drink. During the meal massive amounts of smoke from the grill keep blowing through the restaurant, better hope you have no breathing problems. Also being seated in the bar area we were subjected to load music more attuned to drinking that fine dining. Finished the meal and it takes more than 10 minutes to get the check. Finally almost 2 hours after our first arrival we escape this nightmare of a place. If I ever return to this state, I will never return to this restaurant. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Love this place, you get to cook your own meal and a great salad bar. Make sure to get the papaya dressing if you're coming here, its amazing. The views of the ocean here are great. We had the steaks, which were very good. Our server was good, and the food was tasty (we did grill it ourselves!) Would defiantly reccomend, one of my favourite restaurants in Waikiki.
Ryan T — Google review
Went there twice, the food was good but overpriced for food you have to cook yourself. I think $75 for small steak, lobster, and kabob. The first night the wait staff was on top of giving us drinks, and the late night happy hour was nice to my wallet. The second night, the service was slow, and the waiter didn't know when or what was included in the happy hour and we had to refer him to the drink menu on the table. The kareoke hosts were friendly.
M W — Google review
Expensive and you have/get to cook your own meat. However it's really hot and smoky by the grill, and the chefs end up telling you how to do it or doing it all for you. The meat was fine, but not great. The salad bar was pretty good though. The prices were way too high and the drinks were mediocre.
Jeffrey S — Google review
Google maps does not really show it's location. It is right on the beach. There is a boardwalk area going in the opposite direction with the Army Museum at the corner. This restaurant is right on the beach where you walk in from the sand into an open air bar and restaurant. We were a bit rushed but enjoyed a fast steak from the grill. They bring you the cut of meat and you take it to the grill and cook it the way you like it under the supervision of one of the chefs. The waitress and matradee were very friendly and accommodating. We had quick service, good food, and a wonderful view without any reservations (not recommended). We almost missed this place and were going to eat at the nearby Subway when I happened to ask a fellow veteran at the outside bar. Google maps should have this place pop up whenever you are in the area.

Since my mom is a buffet lover, I took her to an all-you-can-eat spot for her 65th birthday, and it was perfect! Everything was delicious, but the kalbi, crab legs, and oysters were definitely the highlights. We were really impressed with the service—our waiter June was super attentive, making sure we always had water, napkins, and quickly replacing our plates. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and the outdoor area offers a beautiful ocean view. Plus, valet parking is conveniently right outside for just $15. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be back!

Had a family dinner here and it was perfect. We had a large group - 12 people and they accommodated us so well. Main course food was good. The kalbi was so tender. I like that they have a server for the seafood bar, it kept the inventory flowing smoothly. The dessert was disappointing. I didn't really care for any of it, they had little carrot cake slices, spice cake, brownie bites, baked brie, haupia, and creme brulee (not the best) all were lacking flavor. The mango ice-cream was yum and the only dessert I enjoyed. Would recommend a more asian/hawaiian vibe on dessert since all the other foods are asian-esque. Every staff member wore a smile and were just so warm toward us. I will say my only other complaint aside from dessert, is that it got very hot. It's an open restaurant but a few fans would be nice just to circulate the air on still nights. Vibes were there, so 10/10 even though I had 2 negatives. I appreciate you taking care of our 'ohana on such a busy night!

4.7⭐️ It’s The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Buffet and you can be confident that this high-end dining will be to your highest expectations. Right? Well not quite. The hotel itself is impressive and the location is prime real estate on Waikiki Beach where you can see the sun going down over the water and a big plus is the luau happening on the same terrace so you hear the soft Hawaiian music right next to you while you dine. The service is excellent too, and the wait staff is very polite and attentive with a warm courtesy. Now the food… when you think of all you can eat buffet what’s the star of the show? For me, it’s the prime rib and all you can eat crab. I love cooking steak at home and can make it juicy and very flavorful but when you come to a buffet, the prime rib is especially slow baked in the oven with an expert chef to season it and make it extremely tender and juicy. It wasn’t quite as I wished it would be. I arrived in the very beginning of dinner service at 5:30 for the prime rib. When I came to the station and asked for a “rare” cut the chef gave me a piece close to the Chubb’s end and put it on my plate which was looking more like “medium well” and it was cold to the touch. I insisted on receiving a “rare”piece from the middle of the chub, but the chef refused and told me to wait and come back. I find that attitude, poor customer service, and I didn’t even want to eat this piece so I actually talked to the manager who was very polite and courteous and brought me a rare piece from the back of the kitchen to make sure I was satisfied. The meat itself didn’t taste like prime grade USDA beef. It was OK, but wasn’t the most tender and it lacked seasoning. I wish the head chef had higher standards and would make the prime rib crusty on the outside with great flavors, using garlic, rosemary, salt and pepper or whatever signature seasoning they choose but it’s was pretty bland the way it was prepared tonight. The chilled Snow crab was enjoyable, and the fried fish was also flavorful. There were a variety of Hawaiian, Japanese Korean dishes, such as pork Lau Lau, Kalbi beef ribs, seafood pasta, sushi, sashimi. Pretty much everything you can think of but nothing jumped out as “ Oh my God, that was the best thing I’ve ever had!” Overall, it was a great experience and I got to chat with some of the chefs that were really cool locals and gave me plenty of Aloha 🌸as another local.🤙🏽 Would I recommend this place? I’d say that if you’re having a special occasion gathering or a party then absolutely yes it’s a great environment and a festive atmosphere. If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience and enjoy fine dining restaurants and have high standards, then I recommend going to other restaurants in Waikiki and Honolulu that really care about flavor, presentation and experience.

Las Vegas buffet prices but less selections. Food was okay, the worst was the crab legs because they were super salty. Would have preferred hot crab legs, but cold is fine.... just way too salty to enjoy. Oysters were good, but not the best I've had. Interestingly enough, the ones here were way better than the oysters I had at the Bacchanal Buffet in Las Vegas. But definitely not as good as oysters shucked at an oyster bar. Had high expectations for the prime rib, but it was okay, at least the slice I got. May have been better if you get a piece towards the ends. Wasn't a fant of the pork ribs, the texture was kind of mushy! The galbi beef rib was delicious and I would take the bone off and wrap the meat in lettuce leaves. I like the Korean soup as well. The whole Hamachi fish was cool to see and take a chunk out of. Lechon, okay, at least not too fatty. The desserts were okay. Our server, Arnold, was very attentive. Some of the tables seem too close together especially in the area where diners would walk to get to the BBQ and the rest of the food, sometimes a traffic jam right there. Recommend to try at least once, but not really mind blowing food, so probably would not go again for a regular day, maybe for a special occasion if we are in Oahu.

Food was really good. Great selection. I loved the sushi and crab legs. Desert was yummy. The whole experience was amazing and the price was a great value.

Our server was amazing and so nice. Food was awful. Fish was the fishiest fish I’ve ever had and I'm from Utah. Let that sink in. When i told the chef he said “well i just cut it” as if that justifies why it smells like a fish market. Crab was also super wet and soggy. My plate had a pool of water by cracking two legs. For $80 bucks you should expect good quality. Maybe just an off night but yeah definitely disappointing.

Came here with a group with reservations. It is a typical buffet, but very pricey. Food was ok, I tried to get a little bit of everything. The crab legs were too salty for my liking, I did enjoy the pasta that they had.

love love this place came to hawaii for our honeymoon and was looking around for a good last day dinner and found the hyatt do expect to spend at least 175 for dinner not including drinks but it’s 100% worth the money amazing quality food and the experience ambience and service was excellent our waiter was nothing but amazing consistanly refilling our water! the view in itself is worth the money! the crab was fresh best crab my husband and i had the poke was incredible and the selection of food was splendid not to mention the amazing dessert table with a ice cream bar and chocolate fountain 1000% recommend this place i don’t think it’s kid friendly unless your kid loves korean style food or seafood

Me and my husband always ate here almost every sunday usually its good with good service so i wanted to take my sisters that never been here to experience it. We get in all excited the host was nice as we all went to get our food i went to the steak "me and my husbands favorite" well was.. i figure since i was there grab some for my 6yr old daughter that was sitting at the table waiting so i grabbed 2 plates and while i was waiting the guy gives me one serving and tells me only 1 per person i said its for my kid though and he rolled his eyes and started giving me attitude so i called my daughter to stand there and grab her plate and because i didn't like how i was treated i asked our waitress if it was true that i wasnt allowed to grab food for my daughter because it was steak and only one per person and she said No..than she told him shes ordering for her kids sitting at the table so let her and he said Ok but started than hitting the grill while preparing the steak so now im uncomfortable over some damn steak. So me and my daughter go and sit at our table with my two sisters than i look at my steak and its under cooked where it looked like ahi in the inside so i check my daughers one before she gets sick and it was under cooked too. So i ask my waitress again what she thinks than she says well how did you order it? I said i didnt even know i had an option he didnt ask. So she grabs it and says ill get you a new one so i said oh ok thank you next thing i know 15mins go by so im over it and went to get some desert as i walked there my waitress says while standing by the steak bar i ordered you a new one just stand here and wait turns around than says "sorry" with a not so sorry tone and roles her eyes and walks away so now im confused because she offered to get me a new one than tells me i need to wait in line and than gives me attitude. So now im over all of it. Its not cheap eating here they should know they work here so idk why they would treat me like this like wth for? I can see if i gave attitude than fine treat me the same but i didnt say anything rude so i couldnt understand why im getting treated like this. As much as this was my favorite place to eat ill never eat here again! I hated that i paid to get treated like this. Mind you just for 3kids and myself i paid $70.00 and tip. Your hard working money is not valued here. Smh !

The staff was very nice and friendly, especially given the chaos of the patrons. The food was okay. I compare it to the Golden Corral, with Asian food. Well, some GCs are awesome, so maybe that isn't right. The lobster was very small and the crab legs very salty-from being kept in brine, I'm sure. Nothing spectacular, just lots of average food.

Went on Mother's Day for the special buffet. It started with them losing our reservation, spent 10 minutes arguing with the hostess before they would get the manager who apologized and had them seat us, the crab legs and sushi bar were the only saving grace. The roast pig was dry, the prime rib was overcooked and salty to the point of being inedible, the BBQ ribs tasted like they had been sitting in water and were very tough, the BBQ chicken was actually teriyaki chicken and very dry, the tempura shrimp had an off taste like they were cooked in old or rancid oil. The waitress refilled or water once in the 1 1/2 hours we were there, my daughter in law asked for a refill on her Sprite and never got it, the waitress came by a few times to clear our dishes but usually out was one of the bus boys! The few times we flagged her down trying to get refills she acted like we were bothering her and then they added a 15% tip that she didn't earn all because there was 6 of us! Definitely not going back!

You have order the crab from the waiter. They said portion control. You have to wait for the waiter or waitress to come back so you can order more crab legs. Your not able to go up and grab your own crab legs and the legs are short crab legs you get 5 short crab legs. Not worth the money better spend a little more for better crab legs. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN
THE M — Google review
Crab legs were just okay since they were boiled and not steamed. Fried rice was good. Sushi was okay for salmon and tuna nigiri and 23-4 other rolls that had either salmon, tuna, or yellowtail with a lot of rice. Fresh crepes were delicious. The only buffet I have been to where they require a 15% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Especially when there is limited or no service to be had. Drinks are $3.50 on top of the buffet and not included? That is unheard of. No Military discounts, Thanks! Please add another family to your list that will not be back for your food which actually isn't that bad. Management, even though you took the maximum amount of money from our family that you could, it was obvious. Had you not charged for drinks and gratuity we would have been back for sure. I hope the extra $60 was better than having our family return again. I see why there were so many empty tables now. Thanks

So my family came here for my grandmother's birthday party this past weekend, and this experience changed my view and rating of this place. With my extensive experience here, I knew exactly how to hit the buffet line. I made sure that I skipped the big starches and chicken and headed straight for the seafood. I loaded up on clams, veggie and shrimp tempura, shrimp roll, spicy tuna bowls, and tons of ahi sashimi. I also got the steak and scallops with some assorted sushi on the side. I made sure that since we were paying full price, that we ordered off the menu and got some lobster, miso butterfish, and Oysters Rockefeller. Pretty much everything that I got I thought was good, except for the shrimp roll. I thought it tasted weird but everyone else liked it. The oysters weren't as amazing as I had imagined them to be and everyone agreed that the lobster was tough and chewy. I loaded up and ate about 2 plates of crab, which never disappoints, with some butter and rice on the side of course! My husband and I agreed that nothing really was that great, that everything seemed to have lost it's excitement as time had passed, and in the end majority of the food wasn't that good... especially for the menu full price. We had reservation for 19, but 2 didn't show. I called beforehand to try and figure out the financial side of this visit as we were using a 20% coupon and had a birthday and kids and everything. When we got the bill, it only had 15% off the meals and a whopping 20% for gratuity. I was irritated with the fact that now we would have to change how much everyone owed with these new numbers so I tried to speak with the floor manager but she informed me that even though it was my grandmother's birthday and she was well over 65, we couldn't use her free birthday meal AND 20% kama'aina coupon. We could only get 15% off. I explained to her that I called and explicitly asked that same question 2 days ago and I was told that it would be okay, and that we could choose how much to tip our server. I'm glad we could choose how much to give her, because let me tell you, she would have never gotten 20% from us. After taking our drink order, we had to track her down to get a refill on our drinks and had to track her down to order off the menu. She didn't serve us our food, and it wasn't her that was clearing off our tables.... So where in there did she earn her 20%? Even after being able to tip whatever we wanted, the total was still coming up more than what I thought it should be but after being there for 2.5 hours and everyone trying to leave and my son screaming because he was tired I just paid the bill and left. Once I got home and put my son to bed, I finally realized that I was overcharged. Our server charged us for the 2 people who did not show up and an extra drink. The next day, I tried to call before lunch and was not able to get in touch with anyone. After about 2.5 hours of on and off calling, I finally got the GM on the phone and explained I was overcharged. He understood and told me I had to go down to get a refund so they could run the card again. A hassle for sure, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get your money back. The return was relatively simple and quick. I think moving forward, I think I would return BUT ONLY for the early bird special. The extra $8-11 (depending on which day you go) is not worth it. The extra money to order off the menu isn't worth it in my opinion, especially since the oysters and lobster were chewy and tasteless. $19.50 early bird buffet price is where it's at. Load up on the crab, sashimi, and other seafood items and you got yourself and awesome deal.

Dont even bother coming to this place. I used to come here every week and have a vip card. This place have become the worst buffet restaurant in Hawaii. They intentionally cook everything too salty so that you cant even finish one plate of food. As soon as I had a bite on lobster and crab legs, I had to spit them out. I asked to talk to the manager and he didnt even apologize. They even tried to charge me the full dinner price. I will never come this place. Save your money and appetite for some other restaurants nearby... for your sake and your guests.....

Shabu-shabu restaurant
Cafe Asia served delicious all-you-can-eat shabu shabu last night, but their small selection didn't impress. However, their entrees were amazing and everyone at our table tried them all. The slow cooked ribs, szechuan stir fry eggplant with chicken, popcorn chicken, Clams were all very well seasoned. I would definitely come back here when in the area.
Amazing flavorful entrees! Obviously a top notch chef. The chicken- eggplant stir fry is delicately seasoned and so flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. We also had the fish and the fried rice - unique and perfectly seasoned. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect, with relaxing music and great ambience. We are so lucky!

Okay ironically—I wouldn’t come here for their Shabu Shabu (although it was AYCE all-you-can-eat) because it didn’t wow me with their small selection. BUT THEIR ENTREES all looked delicious and we tried 4 dishes and they all blew me away! We had their slow cooked ribs, szechuan stir fry eggplant with chicken, popcorn chicken, Clams.. and everything were very well seasoned! Definitely would come back when I’m in the area again. PS- you’re gonna have to order side Rice; can’t let a single drop of SAUCE go to waste ;)

Known for all-you-can-eat shabu shabu menu, Cafe Asia offers a variety of items, mostly Japanese. Tonkotsu ramen was tasty and noodles cooked just right. The soup could be served hotter and was a bit thinner in comparison to ramen served in Japan. Garlic tonkatsu was a large, generous serving and slightly salty. Otherwise, food was tasty and served quickly. Staff was pleasant and observed appropriate mask protocols and social distancing.

Good, in food quality and service. There are better similar type restaurants within reasonable driving distance. Service is pleasant yet could be more attentive and friendly.

A neighbor recommended this place and we weren't disappointed. Food was great. The staff was short handed but still delivered excellent service. Because of the short staff, the menu was limited, which was a bummer since many of the off limit entrées looked delicious. I saw the hostess bussing tables and she even took our order while our server was busy with other customers. A reservation is recommended. We waited about 10 min for a table since we didn't have a reservation. Once this place opens up to full capacity, I really hope they hire more staff and open up the menu. We'll definitely be back then.

Cafe Asia is located in the Niu Valley Shopping Center, next to Gyotaku. Lots of free parking available so not to worry about not finding a stall to park in. The restaurant is large and accommodate large groups. They have a lot of specials on going constantly and Pau Hana Specials till 6pm. We came here for early dinner and decided on the all you can eat and two different broths, Mala and Sukiyaki. The server brings you a list of what can order, you just check off your choices. So simple and the servers checked with our intermittently for reorders and to make sure everything was OK. I definitely ate more than my share of the multiple orders, Oink! There was a mistake they made with our order, but I didn't mind eating extra meat. Also I wish that there was more choices of sauces, if not then items to enhance the the existing dipping sauce choices. There are some good discounts for Seniors (55+) and early peeps who choose to eat before 6pm. Overall a very nice clean restaurant with good friendly service.

My wife is a big hot pot fan, and she says this is the best one she's ever been to. She found the soup bases (butter miso and garlic patin were what we had) to be really good. And I agree. Also, they refill broth with the actual soup, not one generic broth for all refills like many other places we've been to on the Mainland. We actually liked the hot pot here so much, we went two nights in a row. In a way, it's good that we don't live near this place, because my wife would probably want to come eat here every week.

Really overpriced for the quality AND quantity of food on the buffet. Salad sparingly garnished with few dressing options and entrees very unoriginal. Pasta dishes were soft, prime rib over cooked and cut too thick, and the crab legs soft and cold. Desserts looked store bought and tasted worse. The ice cream bar, tasteless vanilla with even worse toppings. The only reason I gave 2 stars, the Kailua Pork was on point.

Nestled in the heart of Manoa Valley, Treetops Restaurant offers a delightful escape with its traditional Asian-inspired buffet set against a stunning canopy view of the rainforest. Perfectly situated near the Lyon Arboretum and Manoa Falls hiking trail, this charming eatery is not just for special events; it welcomes everyone daily. The ambiance is serene, surrounded by lush tropical foliage that rejuvenates your spirit after an adventurous hike.
Let me start by saying I'm picky, like annoyingly picky. This place was delicious! Truly was! And to the person saying it's like a Jurassic park scene, ahhhh you are in the middle of falls and botanical gardens, what do you expect?

Bugs, trash, and disappointment. My boyfriend and I got there around buffet closing time so we understood the food wouldn't be the freshest. However, that being said, It was horrid. There were bugs everywhere. The fruit in the buffet had an earwig in it, the bread had a fly trapped in it under the lid buzzing around, and gnats were everywhere. There were four employees standing around talking, completely unconcerned. The ladies restroom had ants crawling on the sink, toilet paper and trash on the floor, and at least the first stall I went in had no toilet paper. We were the only two people in the entire restaurant, four employees doing nothing, and the restroom looked like a truck stop. It sounded so cute and I was so optimistic. We were starved at the time but now I really regret eating there and I'm just hoping we don't spend the rest of our vacation sick.

Just had lunch there today. I was very disappointed! The food was below average, the salad bar was just "okay." There were no signs for the dressing. The sushi rice was hard. The dessert table was very disappointing, the cookies were soggy, the "haupia" pie tasted stale, the bread pudding was hard and stale. The only thing good was the coffee and the waiter.

I was a bit hesitant to write this review, but here it goes. RATS! Rats! rats! Running wild! in the Storage Area of the kitchen where are the plates, silverware, cups and cooking pans are kept. Personally I was a huge fan of Treetops Restaurant and LOVE the location. But after "The New Management" took over this year, its clear to see they have it all wrong. RATS! From the 7 balconies, Especially in the Storage Area behind the kitchen where are the plates, silverware, cups and cooking pans are kept. They do not have a front door to the restaurant, just a roll up gate. (They were advised to put a door and screens on to enclose the entire restaurant, but they did not listen). This means rats, bugs, birds and anything that can fit can stroll on in. Sounds harsh I know, but I have seen them with My Own Eyes on many occasions. You can see the traces of them... small brown droppings. And have taken pictures of them.... Gray Hair small eyes. Think of it, the restaurant is in the Rain Forest, with no door and missing screen on the windows.... I hate to mention all that. Some pleasant servers who care about their jobs, but the food and environment is lacking quality control. I am contacting the Health Inspector so they will hopefully clean up their act. Too bad, I love the location, but not the infestation of Rats!

I enjoy eating lunches and dinners quite often at Treetops. The food is always fresh. Crispy fresh greens. Friendly employees. Best stage for music and shows outside of Waikiki. Having lunch in the JUNGLE! Who cool is that? The BEST Teriyaki Chicken on the planet! You gotta try the house special teriyaki chicken! The dessert table features great pies and pastries all made in house. The Chicken Long Rice is one of the best I have ever tried next to my moms.... Perfect place for local events. I highly recommend kids birthday parties, CD release parties for local musicians. Big stage perfect for hula events. Great management. Best location for that Hawaiian feel. Check out the Sunday Brunch they got a nice variety of island favorites. Tourist love this place - makes you believe you are really in Hawaii. No traffic sounds, no smell of exhaust fumes - just pure mountain valley breezes blowing through the rooms. Wow what a beautiful experience for tourist!

Japanese restaurant
Todai Restaurant is a vibrant buffet-style dining destination that tantalizes your taste buds with an impressive array of sushi, seafood, crepes, and ribs. With its modern and colorful ambiance, it creates a delightful atmosphere for food lovers. My journey with Todai began in Los Angeles nearly a decade ago, and since then I've enjoyed their offerings at various locations including Honolulu.
I think I remembered our first experience with this restaurant was in Los Angeles approximately ten years ago. Since then, we have eaten at this restaurant when they expanded to Pleasanton (closed), San Jose (closed), Concord (closed), Cupertino (closed), and of course Honolulu. We were dismayed when they started to close the restaurants close to where we lived, but understood the commercial facets in trying to keep a business sustainable in this economy. In evaluating other assessments of this place, I've read anywhere from bad, decent to great experiences for others, but our family has always enjoyed the food at these restaurants. I'm no "sushi connoisseur" but I like my sushi as fresh as possible. With that being said, Todai's Waikiki has always been a pleasurable experience. This restaurant is always crowded which is a good thing from a food standpoint in that the food is always served fresh! From a crowd standpoint, not so good, because they probable come from the nearby resorts! Over the years visiting the islands and mainly Oahu, we have made frequent trips to this sushi restaurant as well as numerous others in the past. Our dining experience at all of the sushi restaurants that we have dined at have all been a delightful experience. Some have been inexpensive, while others have "emptied out my pockets" but was worth the price. Besides, for me, just being in Hawaii makes any dining experience magnificent! Our approach is simple, between my son and I and before we plan on going to a buffet, we usually miss a meal or two "in order to eat as much as we can." Of course the "wheel barrel" comes in handy after wards because we have eaten so much! If you're not staying at one of the nearby resorts and have to travel by car, parking can be a problem unless you arrive early to park above the restaurants parking lot which fills up pretty quick, "in my own experience." You can then walk downstairs and right into the restaurant where there is always ample seating. During our visits, I've always asked for seating as close to the "sushi bar" as possible to keep track of my favorite sushi's! The restaurant itself is set up with a wide variety of sushi's on one side followed by an assortment of hot meals in the middle and then desserts and salads on the other end. The restaurant is clean and the hostess friendly. There isn't anything extravagant about the restaurant and people don't come here for the atmosphere but for the food, which I find very good. My son, if I let loose in any "pay as you eat" sushi establishment will run me bone dry in a matter of minutes with the sushi he can put down, so a buffet is a great place to take him where he can "graze" among the endless sea of sushi! In choosing types of sushi, I love them all with the exception of the "new age" type of sushi where it has avocado, cucumbers, cream cheese, or such names as, Jalapeno Roll, Super Crunchy Roll, California Sunshine, Philadelphia Roll, or other weird concoctions mixed into a roll. I'm a purest or old fashioned when it comes to sushi. My favorites are; Masago, Ikura, Spicy Scallop, Octopus, Salmon eggs, Nigiri, Ebi, Ika, Sake, and Maki Rolls, to name just a few. In my experience here, I find the sushi is fresh and have never had a bad experience. After about "3-5 plates of sushi," I would wonder over and indulge in the Sashimi Salad or the Mixed Sashimi plate. I've tried their Yaki Soba, Fried Rice, baked Green Mussel, Asari White Clam, Grilled Calamari, Crab Rangoon, and Oriental Clam. All of these dishes were good. My overall experience with Todai's is that the price you pay for the food here is very reasonable, especially the sushi. If you sat at another restaurant and paid for what you eat, the bill would be well over $100.00 per person! At least it would be for us.

Should have read recent reviews, but Todai had been a wonderful place in the past. Unfortunately, Todai Waikiki was the most disgusting experience I've had in a long time. Todai Waikiki used to be the best Todai of all, but since they have new ownership the place has gone downhill to the extreme. In a word GROSS!!! The food was mediocre at best & used to be terrific. The place was filthy...carpet was the worst! We never saw our server after initial seating & drinks. Had to bus our own table. Had to track down someone for more water. Had to track down our server to get the bill. No longer honor senior discount. Server didn't care. Manager didn't care. In the meantime twice while we were there, full tour buses dropped off & picked up passengers. Why should management care when they can feed a busload of hungry tourists & never have to see them again. It's an insult to local people who frequented Todai repeatedly over the years.

Please don't eat here! Roaches in restaurant! My family and I showed up at 5:30 for the dinner buffet and the stairs outside the facility were extremely dirty and not maintained. As soon as we went into the restaurant the floors looked really dirty and the wallpaper looked like it was coming off. We ate here anyways. The food was ok until I went to get dessert and found a roach on the plate. We called the manager over and she apologised and said that she needed to retrain her staff. This is obviously not the staff's fault it is the facility itself that is disgusting and infested with roaches; not to mention the ridiculous price per individual ($30). The manager apologised again and said that she would adjust the bill. The server came back with the bill and she marked off 20%, there is no way that I am paying for a meal that could have gotten my family put in the hospital. I told the server that this bill was absurd and I would pay for the drinks but not the food if they had a problem with it I would contact the health inspector which I plan on doing anyways. The manager came back over, apologised again and told us not to worry about anything. I am appalled that the people that run this restaurant would serve their customers unsanitary food.

Had a good variety of sushi. Quality was good for a buffet. Service was good and the dinner special made it worth the value.

Way too expensive for what you get. My hubby and I were sick from dinner and broke out in a rash for a day following. (we eat plenty of raw fish and have never had this reaction). Wallpaper tearing away. Stay away travellers!

I decided to try Todai since it was down the street from the hotel I was staying at. At $30 a person, I figured it would be pretty decent. The fish tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and the nori was SUPER chewy. The other non-sushi food they had was ok, but still not worth the price They also asked me to pay first, I suspect because I am a young man of 24 and I was by myself. I've had much better sushi in the tiny town of Sierra Vista, AZ.

Where do you want to comment on one of the most visited restaurants in Hawaii. Did not have the sushi chopsticks here. I hope the progress was three years ago.

If you are considering eating here , think again. You're already in Hawaii. Might as well get quality sushi from a real sushi restaurant. The price of the buffet is absolutely not worth it. Its hilarious that a sushi restaurant also serves mashed potatoes... What?

Restaurant
Located on the third floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center Hall, Five Star International Buffet offers a diverse array of seafood and Japanese cuisine in a buffet style. Despite initial construction delays, the restaurant now surprises visitors with its elegant decor and pleasant ambiance. The attentive staff and quality tableware add to the overall dining experience. While some patrons find the food selection impressive, others are left wanting more. However, many guests appreciate the delicious variety of dishes and commendable service provided by friendly staff members.
Went for the first time using Hot Deals. Great food, nice staff, cannot complain about anything. Tried different things, even simple fruits were tasteful. Awesome place.

The tableware was nice as well as the decor and overall environment. Waiter was good and attentive. Although there was a good variety of food, I was not entirely impressed.

(Translated by Google) I had high expectations, but it was so bad. Other than being able to eat as much lobster and snow crab as I wanted, it was just that. I was sick of it, so I couldn't eat much lobster, and there were only a few types of food. Personally, I didn't like any of the food. Even the cake wasn't delicious.
