Paperboy is a popular brunch spot in Austin, known for its warm and hip atmosphere. Reservations are recommended weeks in advance due to high demand, but walk-ins are also welcome. The restaurant offers traditional diner seating as well as a downstairs patio with a view of East 11th street. The menu features classic breakfast items like bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches alongside more unique options such as braised pork and sweet potato hash.
Paperboy is absolutely phenomenal. The meal started with four buttery biscuits, served with butter and a seasonal marmalade—this time, peach. They were divine: flaky, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The hash was a perfect balance of flavors, with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired beautifully with the savory shredded pork. The pecan mole added just the right touch of depth without being overpowering. The pancakes were another standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Truly a must-order. The only miss for me was the cheesy potato side. It wasn’t bad, but compared to everything else, it didn’t stand out, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, Paperboy delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend.

Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!

Absolutely amazing food with a lovely atmosphere and staff. The poblano & cheddar biscuits are addictive, especially with the jalapeño jam. I am also pretty sure the Earl Grey Cold Brew has ruined my life since I do not live here and have not found anything comparable to it in my area. Very friendly staff, and the dishes are beautiful and delicious. Cheddar hashbrown was also delicious.

Finding this place in Austin was a real gem; it’s was a super nice restaurant. My boyfriend and I had brunch. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess save us a table. It took about 20 minutes, but it was worth it because the food was delicious! My boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary, mimosas and I had a capuccino. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the food is quick. The servers are very friendly attentive. It was an incredible experience; I highly recommend it.

This is the place I’ve been searching for—breakfast actually worth getting out of the house for. It’s not your typical take on breakfast, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. I recommend getting there early, because the waitlist fills up fast. The last time I went, the wait was two hours, but luckily the bar had an open seat for a single. And honestly, the flavor is the reason the wait exists. It’s absolutely worth it. The crew is incredible. The entire time I was there, they moved in unison, sending out dish after dish with perfect presentation. They worked harder than some construction crews I’ve seen recently—completely in sync and never missing a beat. They were just as impressive as the food. Now I understand why this spot is a true Austin, TX staple. The OG Texas Hash is my top recommendation—a beautiful blend of sweet potatoes, roasted pork, kale, and a perfectly poached egg. It was incredible.
Michelangelo F — Google review
Went there for breakfast. Head up - waited for ~ 1.5 hours to be sewted. We got the the lox plate as a shareable, which was very fresh and tasty. Also got the chicken and biscuits—super flavorful but very heavy and filling, so pace yourself. The steak and eggs were okay (I’ve definitely had better steaks). The pancakes were really fluffy, not too sweet, and the blueberries were just the right amount
KARIM E — Google review
I just love it here. The place is so dry and happy that staff is so supportive communicative talkative and just make you feel welcomed in my last visit. I had a special salmon dish, which I was told rotate every few months. They had a kind of Japanese version this time with beetroot and flower shaped cucumbers, and it was just out of this world oatmilk cappuccino was also top notch.
Koby O — Google review
Fantastic breakfast we shared the empanada, biscuits and jam, Huevos Rancheros Grits and the Paperboy Pancake. Everything was great. Even their drip coffee was next level. Only complaint is getting blasted by the sun the entire breakfast. Could easily be addressed but they did not have a remedy for it unfortunately.

Bouldin Creek Cafe is an eco-friendly, bohemian eatery located in South Austin. It's a popular spot for solo dining, especially during brunch hours when the bar is bustling. The cafe prides itself on its vegetarian menu, offering creative dishes like zucchini migas and sweet potato pecan tamales. The staff are known for their friendliness, making it a welcoming place to enjoy hearty meatless meals and specialty coffees.
Vegetarian/vegan restaurant with some excellent food. Love it, especially the breakfast blueberry cornbread. Vibe is very unique-Austin. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Bar as well with some beer, wine, and cider options. Especially enjoyed the desserts.
Adam C — Google review
Bouldin Creek Cafe is a hip, vibrant all-day spot that’s a paradise for vegetarians. I went for the sesame tofu stir-fry paired with a refreshing chilled spicy ginger beer — every bite and sip was spot on. The staff is friendly and attentive, with gratuity conveniently included. Be aware that parking can get tricky during peak hours, but it’s well worth the effort.
Binoy V — Google review
The food here is amazing. I absolutely love it. Especially jackfruit curry. I also ordered chagaccino. I don't remember exactly what I said to the barista but I think he made my latte a little mix of chagaccino and masala mocha, since I could taste chai spice in there. Everybody here is like family, I can tell. I asked to sit facing the window/front. I didn't know that area is for people waiting to pickup food. Sorry for causing more work for everyone working that day.
Valerie N — Google review
We came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The menu is great, with lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, and the coffee was especially good. The service was also lovely, our waitress was kind and attentive. The space inside is bright and open, with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There’s also a patio area outside if you prefer to sit outdoors. Prices are reasonable, and overall it’s a great spot for a tasty vegetarian meal. The only thing that gave us pause was something we noticed when we arrived after 9 am. As we walked past the side of the building, we saw several boxes of eggs sitting outside near what looked like a storage or utility area. It was already quite hot outside (we’re in Texas, after all), and we weren’t sure how long the eggs had been there. That raised some food safety concerns. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. The food was excellent, and it’s a really nice place to spend a morning

On a mission to explore iconic local spots in Austin, I made my next stop at Bouldin Creek Cafe—and it did not disappoint. The “weird” and cozy interior (and exterior!) totally embraces the Keep Austin Weird vibe in the best way. The atmosphere is laid-back and full of character. The food? Super affordable and packed with flavor. I tried the Avocado Toast, Predictable Breakfast, Chalupa, and Spicy Pesto—all were fantastic. It’s a great place for vegetarians, too. If you're visiting Austin and want something local, artsy, and delicious, this spot should definitely be on your list.

The food here is a 10/10, always super yummy and great presentation too! The staff are all lovely people and give solid menu recommendations, happy to have stopped by on spaghetti night. I'm thankful to have such a fantastic place nearby with great energy all around.

An awesome vegan place that feels like modern, visibly enticing and touches the taste palettes to a dreamy place. Loved each and everything and definitely bound to return again. With good portion sizes, the plates are good for sharing. Excellent service and a great vibe that definitely reminds you, you are in Austin. Had to wait for over 45min for the table and that wait is definitely worth every minute.
Sri B — Google review
We were in Austin to visit the State Capital, and I was amazed with all the vegan restaurants. In North Texas where I come from, people don't know what a vegan restaurant is. 😀 There was a small wait because we got there at lunch time. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I enjoyed my Lady Bird salad, which was huge and filled with local produce. The ginger flavored lemonade was also good. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Magnolia Cafe is a beloved local eatery in Austin, known for its breakfast offerings, Tex-Mex dishes, and vegetarian options. The cafe has a rich history, with its second location on SoCo opening in 1988 and becoming an integral part of Austin's culinary scene. Originally established as the Omelettry West in 1979, it was transformed into the vibrant Magnolia Cafe we know today in 1987.
Magnolia Cafe – A Perfect Austin Kickoff Spot! We started our day at Magnolia Cafe, and it was the perfect move. The landscape hash was hearty and delicious — definitely a meal that keeps you fueled for a day of exploring. We split a pitcher of mimosas, which set a great tone, and the atmosphere was relaxed and classic Austin. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole place just had that cool, laid-back vibe you want in a brunch spot. Whether you’re looking for a big breakfast, a boozy brunch, or just a solid spot to start your day, Magnolia Cafe delivers. Can’t wait to come back!

I've been having the occasional dinner here since the mid-90s, more frequently in the beginning but less so in the last few years as I don't find myself around south Congress very often anymore. Last Sunday, we decided to swing by, in part for old time's sake, and I'm glad we did. Magnolia Cafe is still an Austin original, and, after decades, still true to what made it a local institution. Food was just as I remember it, flavorful and with fresh ingredients, service was great and the place was perfectly clean. We had the stir fry, the black bean entree, and a key lime pie slice; everything was delicious. Since the pandemic, they are not open 24 hours anymore but, otherwise, still there. We'll definitely be coming back a lot more often.

Magnolia Cafe is such a charming local spot!! Friendly and attentive service, nice indoor and outdoor seating, large menu (everything looks so good), and a mimosa bar while waiting to be seated (quick wait times). Loved our queso omelette and croissant-wich! We got lucky and were able to park at the restaurant but more parking is available close by. LOVED this restaurant experience!
Sammi M — Google review
This place is seriously super cute! Service was amazing and the food was delicious. While you wait you can purchase a beverage out back, and we only waited about 15 min. Seating consists of indoor and outdoor. Parking lot can be busy, but there is a side lot and parking in the back. Def worth the wait!
Charlene P — Google review
I have to admit, Magnolia Cafe has been in my list of places to try but somehow it never happened. Today, because we're in the neighborhood, so we decided to visit one located in the South Congress Ave. After putting the name down to get a table (a straight forward process that just need to scan a barcode and fill out the information), we got seated within 20 minutes. We started with Chips, queso and salsa (It was so good and gone so fast that did not have time to take a picture 😅); for the lunch we got Chicken and the Egg, Omelette with shredded beef, Chicken Enchiladas and Voodoo Blue Cheese burger with a side order of home fries (My order). Without knowing what to expect, I have to admit that it was an outstanding burger: from the nicely cooked beef patties to blue cheese crumbles and grilled buns, the result far exceeded my expectation. I'm addition, judging by how quickly the rest of family finished their meals, I can only assume other dishes were good, too. The service we received was excellent, definitely deserves to be mentioned. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Highly recommend it. 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was our second visit, although this time on Saturday around noon it was kind of disappointing. Both host staff was not friendly or welcoming, just matter of fact.-no smiles! Our server was very friendly but very distracted and not very attentive to us. We had to wave her down a couple of times to get some assistance. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy added shredded beef which was yummy and the Magnolia Stir Fry which was not yummy. The Stir Fry was more like a soup, way too much teriyaki sauce and barely any rice. The highlight was the Root Beer Float, perfection!! If we go back, I’ll stick with breakfast items.
C J — Google review
We were visiting Austin from Denver and one of our Denver Friends recommended Magnolia Cafe to us. The food here was awesome and I highly recommend it me and everyone else at our table ended up getting breakfast items, and all of them were delicious! I got an omelette (that I can't remember the name of) and ginger pancakes stuffed with bananas, and it was delicious! My friend got the shredded beef omelette and said it was awesome, and my girlfriend got the chocolate chip pancakes and also loved them. Overall I highly recommend this place for their breakfast this was probably the best omelette I've ever had!

Magnolias is a staple in Austin, Texas. This night I walked in at about 930pm. To my surprise, it was not busy. Melissa took great care of me. The coffee was hot, the water was water. I ordered a dish with called the chicken and the egg. A jalapeno pancake is the foundation of this dish. On top of that, is a sizable portion of seasoned shredded chicken, followed by shreddee cheddar cheese, and 2 over easy eggs. Quite a combination of flavors and very very tasty. I also ordered a not so short pancake side, along with some back. Sit at the bar and watch the short order cooks put on a show. The manager, at least I think it was the manager, was all over the place helping where he could. Melissa regularly checked in on me and I left quite pleased with my order.

Café No Sé is a chic and rustic-modern spot located in the South Congress Hotel, offering seasonal menus and some of the best brunch options in Austin. The café serves brunch daily with a balanced menu featuring salads, bowls, savory breakfast options, and delectable pastries baked in-house. Popular dishes include the lemon ricotta hotcakes and gravlax bagel. It's a favorite among both hotel guests and locals looking to refuel while exploring the area.
Dog friendly on the patio! Very friendly service. Had great fresh ground coffee. The food tasted freshly preapred with great flavor and portion size. Almost too much food. Nice music and ambiance. Shaded patio on congress makes for great people watching and then close to shopping or restaurant hopping. Will definitely be back to try other menu items or just simply a black iced coffee...

Top notch service, easy to park in the garage at south congress hotel. I ordered the green lettuces salad ($16) and added smoked salmon ($12). Paired with their seasonal iced strawberry matcha. Really enjoyed sitting outside and my friend loved their burger. You can walk through the hotel lobby to get to the garage and they’ll validate for 2 hours. Would happily return

Our waitress today- JULIANA✨ was absolutely pleasant and bubbly! Loved that! She made sure we had excellent service and constantly checked us without being overbearing. The food was also great! Had brunch at a cozy café and really enjoyed the food—especially the smoked salmon bagel, pistachio muffin, and soup. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the overall vibe was lovely. However, the service was a bit disappointing. The staff didn’t come across as very friendly, and I had to ask twice just to get an extra spoon. When I requested a small bowl, they brought out a clear glass one that didn’t seem like proper serving ware and might’ve even been used. Great food, but the service could definitely be improved.

My daughter and I had a lovely lunch here. The food was amazing and our server was one of the sweetest and most knowledgeable servers I've ever had. Eat here! I'm sure you will love it!

Mmmmmmm French toast. I will say I expected the orange in the glaze to be a little more world changing, but it kind of distracted from the nutty syrupy goodness. Kate hyped up the deviled eggs and they did indeed deliver, though I would have liked more of the mayo filling. I was a little surprised no one offered to refill my coffee, but for $3.50 I'm fine with it. We went on a Sunday, and Kate ordered a mimosa at 9:45. When she was told she couldn't have one before 10 am, she said OK I would like a mimosa at 10 am please. Lo and behold, at 10:01 a mimosa arrived at our table. That's good service right there!

Breakfast restaurant
Bird Bird Biscuit is a popular neighborhood spot in Austin, known for its delicious house-made buttermilk biscuit sandwiches served during breakfast and lunch. The biscuits are described as fluffy on the inside and perfectly flaky on the outside, providing a delightful base for simple yet flavorful ingredients like eggs, cheese, and bacon. The eatery offers a practical breakfast option for those on the go or looking for a quick bite before weekend activities.
As someone who doesn’t typically like fried chicken sandwiches, this was shockingly delicious. The biscuit is warm, thick, buttery. The chicken is crispy, flavorful. And the whole sandwich comes together so well. I got the firebird and would definitely try other items too. I could not finish one, so will be sharing with someone next time.
Amy — Google review
I can say it was delicious, crispy, and pretty high 😅 it was hard to bite it. Biscuits were good. I have been there in march and it was cold they didn’t have any closed places. I waited 10 minutes just for one biscuits.

First time reviewing this tasty biscuit spot but definitely not the first time eating here. These biscuits and jam/jelly are just a morning delight. Biscuits with strawberry jam is my wife’s go to every time. Btw the jam is made by them 🤤. I have enjoyed every biscuit sandwich and tbh I could say all of them were my favorite. A very reliable place to eat and love that they are pet friendly. Staff has always been awesome as well!!! Thank you staff for that great work and environment.

THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN BISCUIT. I’ve spent 5x the price at other top-rated restaurants in Austin and Bird Bird Biscuit has better friend chicken and biscuits than all of them. I crave this weekly and can’t wait to come back soon (like this week probably). 11/10 would highly recommend. Their manager was also soooo nice and made the already amazing experience that much better. Tip: order ahead on toast for faster pick up.
Kimmie S — Google review
We started off Day 1 of our Austin trip with one of the best biscuits I’ve had in my life. For lunch, I had the Queen Beak Sandwich with fried chicken breast, spiced black pepper honey sauce, bacon-infused chipotle mayo. Delicious! And my Biscuits and gravy connoisseur husband gave the sage gravy a thumbs up. The strawberry lemonade was nice and it was cute/ ironic to have a pretty bird come visit while we ate our lunch. Great start to our foodie adventure💕
Bridget B — Google review
They have amazing chicken biscuit sandwiches! The sauce, pickles, and everything else go so well together. I was very surprised of the large size of the sandwich. I highly recommend.
Tyler M — Google review
Went there for the first time a few days ago Super nice staff - the lady free us a fries as that was the first time that we tried . The biscuit itself taste pretty good - I like the butter flavor in the biscuit I order the queen one - not bad, it would be better if there’s more sauce as the chicken doesn’t have a lot of flavor (if you eat it with the biscuit) MUST TRY ITEM - the fries - crispy outside and soft inside, seasoning are SUPER good as well. Definitely 10/10 for the fries. Will eat it again if we have a chance to go there Ps I barely do a review but the staff and food are too nice that I have to do one for them .

Plummet from grace. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s been going downhill for a while. At my most recent visit they served a greasy chicken breast wrapped in a pocket reminiscent of something from the freezer aisle. Oil leaked all over. Total garbage, couldn’t finish it. See my second photo for what it used to be like. Dealing with the rude staff used be worth it for the sandwiches. Never coming back after this.

Restaurant
Better Half Coffee & Cocktails is a vibrant cafe and coffee shop by day, transforming into a lively spot for cocktails and delicious fare in the evening. Located in downtown Austin, it offers globally inspired dishes alongside an array of beverages including coffee, draft cocktails, wine, craft ciders, and beer. The venue's cheery oasis features a pink picnic table-laden patio where patrons can enjoy quality non-alcoholic options or indulge in espresso and tequila shots.
Better Half has been on our radar for a long time now, so we popped in for a late weekday breakfast. The property is really nice with a number of inside seating spots as well as plenty of outside seating under some lovely, old oak trees. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich (with sausage), the Fried Chicken Biscuit (spicy), and the Cauliflower Tots. Even though they were a bit busy, the food came out quickly. Both sandwiches were really delicious. The flavors in the breakfast sandwich all melded together really nicely. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the biscuit was buttery and fluffy. The tots weren't our favorite, but they were nice and crunchy with a sweet beet ketchup. I'd love to come back to try more items from their menu as well as their coffee and cocktails.

Great Vibe and Good Food, Definitely Worth a Visit This is my third time coming to Better Half, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. I ordered the half Chop Chop salad, the single chicken bacon burger, and a veggie burger. It’s hard not to like this place. The amount of property they have means you can almost always find a seat, which is a nice. If you’re into alcohol, I’m sure you’d really enjoy it here as they have a great selection. It’s hard to beat a $7 chicken/beef burger though the patty itself is a bit on the thin side. Everything was solid—the food was good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. It definitely feels like a spot that you could always go to and know what you’re getting.

This place is definitely popular, but I found myself underwhelmed by the famous cauliflower tots and the breakfast sandwich. They didn’t live up to the hype for me. The cauliflower tots were crispy but, like the breakfast sandwich, could benefit from more flavor. However, the beetroot ketchup had a unique taste to it. On a positive note, the lemon olive oil cake and the queso were delightful. As for the coffee, I was disappointed. The caramel sea salt cold brew tasted more like vanilla, with barely any caramel or sea salt flavors coming through. The lavender latte was watery. Overall, nothing really hit the mark. The best part of the place, though, is definitely the vibe. The outdoor patio is spacious, with plenty of shaded seating and a cozy bar area in the corner, covered in vines and string lights. Inside, there’s a nice mix of seating options so whether you want a couch or a high table they have it all. And they have a little kiddie pool outside where you can dip your feet, which is nice, and dogs are allowed, so if you’re just looking for a chill place to hang out, it’s great, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for the food or drinks.
Diana X — Google review
I’ve visited this restaurant three times, and it’s consistently solid. My recent Saturday brunch really stood out. The food is flavorful and well-executed, with a thoughtful concept that shines through in the menu. The space is clean, modern, and stylish, creating a welcoming vibe. My only gripe is the crowd—expect a wait, especially on weekends, though the kitchen turns out dishes quickly. If you’re local, this spot’s probably already on your radar.
Tim B — Google review
Truly one of the most mediocre places I’ve been to that is trying to be trendy. The breakfast sandwich was so underwhelming for the price. No seasoning, no salsa, no sauce. Just a bunch of fried elements without seasoning. It was very one note and nothing to it. Difficult to eat. Coffee was okay, much prefer other places in Austin. Super loud inside.
Sandy Z — Google review
I've always loved Better Half, it was a tried and true spot for me for years. I came back to grab a salad for lunch for the first time in about a year and I am sad to say it has gone downhill. $48 for two very un-fresh disheveled "half" salads, and a dirty table. I am so sad to have spent so much for so little, but more sad to see a place I once loved not holding their standard.
Loren S — Google review
The experience started extremely poorly but improved after speaking with management. Came with a large group and wait staff were extremely rude in response to questions about the menu and orders. One of us ordered an item that clearly wasn’t what we received and after checking with the waitress was told (incorrectly) that it was correct. Management later corrected the order after probing and apologized. Appreciate the correction and apology but it took more effort than was reasonably necessary so it comes out to a 3/5 stars.
Jonathan D — Google review
We loved this place so much on our trip to Austin that we went a few times during the week. We didn’t have too long of a wait each time but we were there during off season and not peak hours. There’s plenty of outdoor seating which was so nice on a warm day. The coffee was good and I appreciated their baked goods. The breakfast sandwiches were also good.

Breakfast restaurant
24 Diner is a popular spot that offers a unique upscale diner experience, serving farm-to-table comfort food and an extensive selection of wines, cocktails, and beers. Chef Andrew Curren creates delicious dishes using locally sourced vegetables and meats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Despite its popularity leading to queues at times, visitors can explore nearby attractions while waiting for a table. The restaurant's inviting mid-century modern atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience.
Decided to make a pit stop for lunch so did a quick google search and decided on this place! Super cute atmosphere! The staff was excellent! It’s a little pricier than your normal diner but the food holds up to its price. If you wanna save same money I recommend you go during the happy hour which starts at 3. We got the chili cheese fries and Mac and cheese bites at $7 happy hour price! The Mac and cheese can use a little more cheese but the crisp and homemade ranch were perfect! The chili has a nice spicy kick to it, fries were really good. My daughter got the chicken and waffles, chicken could use some salt/pepper but it was really good other than that. Also had the 24 diner hash which did not disappoint. Had a great bacon/onion/potato ratio. Overall it was really good.

great experience—almost perfect. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and quick. Our food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. We decided to take dessert to go, opting for the tres leches cake and the buttermilk pie. Unfortunately, this part of the experience was disappointing. While enjoying the desserts at home, we discovered a hair woven into the whipped cream. It really took away from what had otherwise been a great meal and left us feeling a bit let down. I’d still recommend the diner for its tasty food, efficient service, and great coffee—but I hope they take a closer look at quality control.

This place has potential. Food is really good. Chicken waffle, French toast, chicken fried chicken. Everything was really good, couldn't be better. But the place itself is not it. Restaurant is run down, from paint to the seat cushions. Maybe just order to go.
Max R — Google review
The food was amazing, I had the wagyu steak entree and my mom had the cheeseburger. The wagyu was perfectly cooked to medium as I requested, as well as my mom’s burger cooked to medium well. The server was kind, straight to the point, and quick. The food came after what felt like 5 minutes, and it was fantastic. My mom said it was the best burger she ever had in her life. The music was nice and chill, place isn’t very loud, nice atmosphere. I like the interior style a lot! Wagyu was amazing, 10/10 recommend you to come here, worth every penny!
Ben A — Google review
I ordered the small chicken and waffle, which to my surprise was actually pretty big. You can choose between dark or white meat. I code dark, it was crispy and juicy. The waffle was fluffy. It wasn't busy when my friends and I got there, so we were able to get our food pretty fast. Our waitress was awesome, but the other guy seemed to have a bad attitude while we were there on Oct 22, and gave us some weird looks. But nonetheless, the food was awesome.
Francee A — Google review
Ordered 2 items: patty melt & chicken & waffles. The chicken and waffles were ok. The waffles had an inconsistent taste, and the chicken had areas that were charred/burnt. Furthermore, the patty melt burger patty was too rare/not cooked enough. It was not a pleasant experience, but service was good.
Zoe L — Google review
First was the service which wasn’t horrible but definitely wasn’t good. Especially since there was no one there youd think it wouldn’t be that hard to go a little extra. But that wasn’t the worst part. Next was the food. Not only was it 20$ for a patty melt but it was cold, raw, bland. And there was a lot of raw spots on my patty. The fries were also pretty mediocre, a lot weren’t even eatable since they were fried to a crisp. Unfortunately I can only speak for myself and not my friends that were with me but they also did not enjoy there meal and had other issues. Also if you wanted to watch sports games, they only got one tv.
Aiden D — Google review
My friends and I stopped by 24 Diner for a late night snack after an evening of festivities. We expected simple cheap 'Diner' fare and nothing more. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and completely impressed by the friendliness and accomdations offered by the staff. We felt like friends visiting mroe than customers stopping by late at night. The food itself was tasty and of a quality that surpasses what I'd expect in a Diner. Someone cared about the food they made for us. We were impressed enough that even given our short time in Austin, we returned to 24 Diner a couple days later for a full Breakfast. And we weren't disapointed one little bit as the atmosphere was busy and energentic but in no way hurried or rushed. We were again treated well and served wonderfully tasty food that started our day right. I'll always be on the lookout for exotic new foods, especially when visiting Austin, but I'll be sure to stop by 24 Diner for some good old fashioned good eats and not regret it in the least.

Elizabeth Street Café is a charming establishment that offers a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine. Located in South Austin, this café features a delightful garden patio and bright indoor spaces. The menu includes traditional Vietnamese dishes like pho and banh mi, as well as creative French breakfast items. Guests can savor the delectable Ginger-chili Oil Dumplings, marinated in a flavorful sauce with pork, shrimp, water chestnuts, and herbs.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. The food is just so good. We’ve tried so many things on the menu and have loved it all. Only complaint is service and be a little slow and the seating is tight because it’s a small restaurant but the rest of the experience makes up for it. If you’re looking for great Vietnamese food in the Austin area, this is the spot.
Grant W — Google review
My husband and I visited Elisabeth Street Café on a Sunday for a late lunch, and street parking nearby was easy to find. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and, since we had a reservation, promptly shown to our table. The tables are set quite close together - so, at times when the noise level is not deafening, it kind of feels like a large banquet table as one can overhear conversations from nearby guests. Overall, I had two main concerns during our visit: Noise level: the restaurant was extremely loud. Voices from a large table carried throughout the room, making it difficult to hear my husband even when sitting directly across from him. The atmosphere became uncomfortable, and I would recommend that management consider adding sound-absorbing panels to help balance the acoustics. Food spiciness: while the flavors were bold, the redfish dish was overwhelmingly spicy. I usually tolerate heat quite well, but this level of spice left me with severe reflux, which is very uncommon for me. It would be helpful if the staff asked guests about their spice tolerance before serving dishes prepared with such intensity. Elisabeth Street Café has great potential, with a lovely ambiance and attentive service, but addressing the noise and spice-level concerns would make the dining experience much more enjoyable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Elizabeth Café is an absolute gem! I stopped in recently and was blown away by how warm, charming, and perfectly “Austin” this spot feels. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the service is quick, and everything on the menu tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. The vibes are cozy, bright, and just make you want to stay awhile. My food and coffee were both perfect — full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell they really care about quality here. Whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast, meeting a friend, or just want a relaxing café to unwind, Elizabeth Café hits every mark. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely be coming back. 🌿☕️

The food was outstanding, a solid 50/10. The presentation, dish choices, flavors, and temperature were all amazing. However, the service left much to be desired. I initially thought I could give them the benefit of the doubt, considering they were transitioning into dinner service, but I was never offered anything to drink beyond the water that their attentive busser provided. Even though I was dining alone, I had to encourage a family of three to seek out their server. The inattentiveness of the staff was frustrating, and I can't honestly recommend this place for a dining experience but I would for take out.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for some time and yesterday we finally had the chance. We came in for Happy Hour on Thursday and ordered the Rice Paper Rolls (Crispy Chicken), Chili Oil Dumplings, Steamed Rice Rolls, and Drunken Noodles. All dishes were great! Kai our server provided amazing service and made some great recommendations for us first timers..we’d come back for the service alone!

Counter Cafe is a charming eatery that exudes the classic vibe of an old-school diner, offering natural, organic, and locally sourced dishes. With two locations in town, it's a popular spot for breakfast and lunch. The menu features traditional favorites like crab cake benedict and generously sized hotcakes. While it embraces nostalgia, Counter Cafe also stands out for serving one of the best brunches in Austin. It's a go-to destination for those seeking quality and delicious diner-style fare.
Perfect place for a little brunchy lunch. We had the steak and eggs-which was hanger steak cooked to perfect medium rare and very tender. We also had the half turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries- pretty tasty. Katy was our server, she was friendly, capable, and went out of her way to make us fresh lemonade and decaf coffee. We really appreciated her welcoming energy. Local, clean, and chill kind of vibe to the place. Thanks for the great food and service!

Classic breakfast place! food was good, although my friend mentioned the sausage tasted odd, i didn't get to try it. I had the counter benedict with pastrami and it was yummy! Service was great, and for a sunday morning they had plenty of availability. only thing is I feel like the seats were really close to the people adjacent to us, but nothing too uncomfortable. Would come back:)

A new discovery for me. Way out of my way. I was going for another place but they were not quite open for business. Nice counter cafe place. Narrow. Not too much seating inside, additional seating outside (too hot for me right now) Busy and noisy. I guess it goes with this type of business. Service: a little slow to get to me. Nice yound lady. Food was served promptly. Food: I ordered the Joe's Special: scrambled eggs topped with home-made sausage, on top of spinach salad and home potatoes. Everything was fresh and tasty. No complaints. Overall, a good experience. Thank you. Chef Alain Braux

I absolutely love this place. I am a frequent guest. I feel like I’m at home. The cooks are fabulous efficient they always have the food on point. I’ve never had a time that it was not delicious. The service providers waitresses are friendly. They always ask me if I need coffee because I am quite particular about how my coffee is made. They have the best coffee in town. If you guys know me I always write a review and this is one place I want you all to check out. They’re open from 6 to 3. Saturdays are my best days but remember come early because there will be a line but they will try to get you in as soon as possible. It seems to me the places that have lies are always the place to eat for me. I wanna thank you counter café, and your staff for your hard work your discipline to make fabulous food for all us as consumers and keeping us happy. We will not go wrong if you come here and if you just so happen to find this post and it make sure decisionmy name is Sara. I’m happy to give you a glass place in town my little secret counter café.

Food didnt look much like the photos. Crab cake Benedict was mushy and overall didn't feel fresh. Honestly had a shockingly noticeable "freezer" taste to it. Bacon was very expensive. $4USD for two very thin strips. Service was great however! I appreciated the regular coffee refills and polite servers. Atmosphere isn't bad either. It's a nice enough space but it just really didn't taste great.

This restaurant has friendly staff and the food is REALLY good! I polled our entire group for a star rating before posting this review and we all agreed.. 5 stars! Hands are shown in the photos for scale.. those are BIG Pancakes! The French toast is far better than any I’ve had.

The place had a charming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered Joe’s special. It tasted good but it lacked the balance I had hoped for. I found the portion of eggs in my dish to be significantly less than expected, with the plate seeming to have an excess of potatoes instead.

My son lives in Austin. I visited last weekend. He introduced me to this restaurant years ago and we've been there a few times. However, it's been awhile since a while since I last visited. Fortunately, without speaking about a place to have a meal prior to my return to San Antonio I followed my son to this restaurant, Counter Cafe. A pleasant and welcomed surprise. The welcoming personnel are that and with a smile. The staff are pleasant and attentive. Every meal I've ordered has been hot and delicious. This visit. I ordered huevos rancheros. The huevos rancheros were a bit to different than what I have experienced at a number of different restaurants and I am used to. In fact, I thought the sauce on top of my overeasy eggs were beans. So, I asked the pleasant individual who welcomed us if I could get some salsito. He pointed out that what I thought were beans was salsito. I apologized and chuckled to myself. On top of the salsito were 2 slices of avocado. A pleasant touch and the salsito was quite tasty and pleasant. Now, if there was more of this salsito I would have rated it with a fifth star. Next, time I shall ask for a little more of the salsito.

The Omelettry is a beloved old-school diner in Austin that has been serving up signature omelets, pancakes, and lunch classics since 1978. Frequented by college students and families, this wood-decked space recently extended its hours to accommodate dinner service. While known for their cheesy omelets and chocolate-chip pancakes, the diner also plans to introduce a dinner menu soon.
The is a classic breakfast restaurant with a bit of an Austin flair. The interior has this mom-n-pop feel with aprons hanging on the windows for ambiance. The staff are super nice and friendly and got us a table right away. I had the black olive omelette with sourdough toast and my wife had eggs and sausage. Generous portions and it was super delicious! One thing I really liked was the Dr Seuss Green Eggs and Ham mural on the wall. Overall the price is very reasonable and I would definitely come back again.

The atmosphere of this place is definitely a traditional diner. The food was good. I loved the French toast, and the omelets are definitely a good item to pick. I wasn't especially impressed by the drinks, but there were the normal breakfast drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are definitely longer wait times later in the day so I suggest going early. In all, it was a nice place for breakfast.

This eatery is the quintessential Austin breakfast place. The classic menu is easy - breakfast and not breakfast. Options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks. All the wants for a meal to get your day going, or refuel for more Austin adventures. Either seat-yourself when not busy, or signup on a piece of paper. Once you’re seated, a friendly server will come get you drinks and give you time to acquaint yourself with the menu. After you’ve gotten your drinks and discovered your flavor of the day, you’re told the food will be out soon. In less than 15 minutes, you go from walking in to having hot food. After having every single thing on the menu - breakfast and not - there is nothing bad or middle-of-the-road. Pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, nachos, soups, and of course omelettes - every single one is perfection in food form. Coupling your meal with strong coffee, delicious orange juice, and crisp Austin water, you will be full and happy when your plate is clean. Simple payment with cash or card, and bagged coffee next to the register, and you’re off on your day. The tables are covered with colorful and sturdy wrapping, there is space for more or less chairs, wheelchair-accessible in the entire place, and they have multiple kinds of high-chairs for kids. Make a stop here and relish in what Austin really is - a weird and welcoming place for all.

The Omelettry is a true Austin classic — the kind of breakfast spot that instantly feels like home. The vibe is warm and unpretentious, with a mix of locals and visitors all here for one thing: great food. Their omelets are fluffy and packed with flavor, and the banana pancakes are some of the best in town — perfectly golden and just the right amount of sweetness. The service is always friendly and relaxed, and even when there’s a wait, it’s worth every minute. You can taste the care that goes into everything, from the fresh coffee to the homemade salsa. A must-visit for anyone who loves hearty, feel-good breakfast in Austin!

The Omeletry is on my rotation list for breakfast/brunch (note: they close et 3 pm) Food: I tried different (3 eggs) omelets but my favorite is the Popeyes omelet, stuffed with spinach, bacon and their special blend of cheeses. Topped with sour cream. I always as for their Caliente salsa. It complement this dish perfectly. It comes with a choice of dide dishes. Add to that bottomless coffee and you have a satisfying meal for about $20.00 (plus tip) It's hard to find such filling quality food for that price in Austin these days. The food is always very fresh and hot, and the service is prompt and friendly by a young staff. No wonder this place is always packed. I happily regularly come back every month. Chef Alain Braux

Sawyer & Co is a retro-modern diner located in East Austin, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that's perfect for leisurely brunches. The menu features classic Southern and New Orleans-style dishes such as shrimp & grits, jambalaya, gumbos, muffalettas, and more. With its mid-century charm and Texas hospitality, Sawyer & Co has become a top choice for brunch in Austin.
Design and atmosphere, A+. Menu, A+. Service, A+. Sat outside but the shade covering made it comfortable. Madison was our server and they were wonderful. Fried Green tomatoes were incredible, could have just made a meal just out of that. Got the iced vanilla latte, iced strawberry matcha latte (was good just needed a little sugar) and Prickly pear limeade (sweet and very sour!). We got the basic eggs Benedict and the grits and greens, with a side of fried chicken. I recommend asking for the chili maple to drizzle on top of the chicken! The corn bread was tasty but not very sweet at all. Honestly considering coming back to try something different tomorrow, it was that good.

Here’s an updated version of your review that includes that final thought: ⸻ Sawyer & Co – 3/5 We visited on a rainy Saturday morning and had a reservation. When we arrived, we still had to wait a bit for our table. We were seated outside, but the chairs were still wet from the rain. I had to use napkins to wipe them down myself—something I wish the staff had handled before seating us. Service was quite slow. I wanted to flag someone about the wet chairs, but no one was around, so I just took care of it so we could sit. It also took a while for our server to come by and take our order. On the bright side, the food was good and came out quickly once we ordered. One other waiter eventually came by to refill our water, and I appreciated that. An older woman also made her rounds to check in with tables, which was a nice touch, even though we were still waiting on water at that point. Overall, the food was solid, but the service and rainy weather put a damper on the experience. I think it would’ve been much better on a dry day with more attentive service.

Madison was perfect 👌 gave us space to chat and catch up and was always available for us. Love the outdoor vibes. Go now while the weather is lovely. The coffee truck outside was awesome, too! Got coffees to go post brunch. The food winner: GOAT fried green tomatoes on whipped goat cheese with pecan crumble. 🤩

It was our first time visiting. We would have gone back the next day for brunch again but our group got larger and it would have been hard to accommodate. I recommend a reservation for brunch. The food was delicious but the shining star is the cool mid century modern build out they did. The atmosphere is perfect.

We stopped by Sawyer & Co. for breakfast on a Monday morning. It was a bit slow when we arrived, but the service more than made up for it—our waitress was super sweet and very prompt. We ordered the French toast and the biscuits & gravy, and both were absolutely delicious! The location itself is super cute, with a fun, retro vibe and a cozy atmosphere. One thing to note: there wasn’t a changing table in the bathroom, which made things a little tricky with our baby. However, they did have high chairs and booster seats available, which was appreciated. Overall, great food and great service—we’d definitely come back!

Retro heaven !! Chic 1950s diner energy—minus the problematic bits. I ordered the chicken & waffles and WHEW…perfection. The waffle was cloud-level fluffy, the chicken had that crispy flavorful skin (not over-breaded, just right). Our server was the sweetest, attentive but gave us space. Bonus points: the booths are this dreamy Tiffany-blue that makes the whole place feel like a set piece. Love the aesthetic sm, 10/10.

Visited Sawyer & Co for brunch me and bestie before heading back home to Houston and it was GREAT!!!!!! The hostess, the waitress, the food, the vibes we LOVED it! I’m not sure if it was the manager or owner but a nice lady stopped and asked how we were doing and did we need anything!!! ☺️ 10 out of 10 highly recommend!! We will DEFINITELY come back here on the next trip!!

Atmosphere was great! It’s a cute retro vibe. Unfortunately the food was less than expected. I ordered salmon Benedict, it supposed to be over potato cake but they were out so we were told it would be over a muffin. When it came out it was over a biscuit and the hollandaise sauce was minimal. They do not offer a pancake side so you will need to order a pancake entree. We arrived at 1030 and by 1130 the host came by and advised us that he has a reservation for our table in 10 mins. So we basically had to leave. That was quite unprofessional in my opinion.

Veracruz All Natural is a popular eatery known for its delicious tacos, including the famous migas taco. Founded by sisters Reyna and Maritza Vazquez from Veracruz, Mexico, the restaurant offers a blend of fresh, organic ingredients with a passion for their culture. Originally a food truck, it has expanded to multiple locations and an extended menu featuring pastor, fish, barbacoa, and shrimp tacos.
Veracruz is a hidden gem for tacos in Austin, TX! I tried the shrimp, barbacoa, and chorizo tacos, and each one was packed with flavor. The salsas were perfectly balanced—not too hot, not too mild—just right. I also had an agua de horchata, which was fresh and tasty. The vibe is great too, with both indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio. It’s a solid spot for a quick taco fix. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Very popular Tex-Mex spot in Austin. The guac was well-made and chips were fresh, thick, & crunchy type. As for the tacos themselves, they were not complex in their flavor profile: tasted like the combination of the ingredients they were made with. Everything inside (egg, peppers, mushroom, etc.) was cooked well so it tasted good but lacking synergy.
Dhruv P — Google review
This place is just incredible. I had the two types of the seafood tacos that they are offering grilled shrimp with Matcha and fish. Both were out of this world. I also took an extra of rice and beans which was very flavorful. Food is not very photogenic, but it’s seriously the real thing everything is wrapped for a take away, but you can sit indoors or take it to the nearby park.

I will forever recommend anyone I know how is visiting Austin to go the Veracruz. It was absolutely delicious, the drinks were refreshing and the ambience was fantastic! I wish I had tried more of their tacos, but definitely will try them next time I am in the city~

My tastebuds are having a party. This is fresh and authentic food! Doña Reyna is sublime, Miga’s poblano great for breakfast Eggs and chorizo and an Al pastor for lunch! Mmmmm Will I be back for a fourth visit???

I got them first years ago on a roadtrip. I had to come back since they were then and still are the beat tacos i had. Back then it was at their food truck. Ordered them over doordash this time. The explosion of flavour is simply amazing. The traditional cannot be beaten

Best corn tacos ever! I don’t even really like corn but if I could have those that’s all I would have. I had steak, fish, and mole. The staff were so nice and the food came out super fresh. You may have to wait because they are busy and make everything from scratch. It’s worth the wait.

From the front it looks like a better than average order-at-the-counter taco shop, bc there is nice outdoor seating. But the place keeps on going and in the back there is seating in an indoor/outdoor bar area connected to the adjoining hotel and its pool. TLDR - eat your gorgeous, fresh, delicious food in a resort setting and enjoy the breeze.

Maura was out server! Oved her up beat, positive attitude. The food, well PHENOMENAL! Started with a bloody Mary that had a pierced pickle, banana pepper and okra, yummy! Than, we shared a Cheeky Monkey and the special, Mozzarella Omelette. This far the most delicious and unique plates you'll have here in Austin. Highly recommend this place when you're here.

Food was fantastic. Cold brew was fantastic. Mimosas was fantastic. However, leaving a 3 star because towards the end, yes we were done with our food but we were still drinking our $30 carafe mimosas and enjoying our time but then our waitress comes and picks up our glasses and basically says “sorry not trying to rush but we do have a wait outside” meaning, cause others were waiting on a table. I totally understand that part, however we weren’t done with our drinks and we left her a great tip on our $147 bill. It may also not be the waitresses fault, maybe management pushes their servers to rush people out and if that’s the case, management needs to figure out a better method. Because we’re still paying to enjoy the service and left a good tip. We will think twice about coming back to this diner.

I've been to this location a handful of times and their food is consistently great! I'd definitely recommend going at non peak times as parking is not always easy but one of the best diners in Austin for sure! Goat cheese grits were my favorite!
Laura P — Google review
luckily we were able to me seated immediately but this place packs up quickly! migas had too much cheese for my preference - it seemed to drown everything else out, but my friend’s chicken biscuit was amazing!
C.w. — Google review
This place was delicious. I ordered the French Toast and horchata and my partner got the omlette and short stack. The French Toast was crispy on the outside, and soft in the middle - I would reorder this, but not before I re-order the omlette, which really felt like the star of the meal - the sauce was excellent and the meal itself had a lot of variation on the textures, it was also a lot bigger than expected. I was really happy with it. The pancakes were pretty standard and the horchata was decent, but I would come back for the omlette and French toast.
Vanessa — Google review
Good food and food prices were on point. $15 for a cocktail is a bit pricey though. Very loud. Difficult to talk without being loud and feel like I was disturbing others.
Lisa P — Google review
The place was great. We got there early enough to be seated right away. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. Even though space is limited, the food and service are fast enough that it doesn't seem like people were waiting too long. I got the brisket burrito, and man, was it good! A little greasy, but delish. I poured the salsa it comes with over my potatoes, * chef's kiss. It has a very small kick but the flavor pairs well with the potatoes. My husband got the flapjacks, which was equally delish. We'll definitely need to come back for more.
Liz B — Google review
This is my favorite diner in Austin. I like to go there early before they get busy. Pictured, the BST Omelette: Bacon Spinach, Tomato. The bacon is thick, the spinach isn't overcooked, and the tomato balances the rich flavors or the egg and it's aioli sauce. So good. I also highly recommend the beet hash, and their smothered tater tot appetizer. So good.

Bakery
Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Joe’s Bakery & Coffee Shop is a beloved, family-owned establishment that has been serving up classic Mexican fare and bakery treats for over 75 years. Despite the changing landscape of East Austin, this iconic institution remains a steadfast presence, offering fluffy house-made flour tortillas filled with migas and an unbeatable carne guisada.
Joe's has a history back to 1935, but he actually bought it from his parents in 1962. With his brother-in-law, they opened their business on 7th Street. The brother-in-law left a few months later, amicably. Leaving, Joe to run it sixteen to eighteen hours a day. Relocated, the restaurant 2 doors down to an old lumber yard in 1969, where it still is today.. this is a true Austin icon. It's been around for more than forever, and it's always full, especially on the weekends. You can see from the pictures that usually we get something different, just so we can compare more. But she's a migas, freak, and I love migas, and theirs are incredible, the beans were really good. The bacon was absolutely amazing. If you like, really crispy and flavorable. Yeah, this was it. The attention from the server was pretty good. And you could just tell how many people knew each other coming and going and talking and enjoying it. This is one of the places that makes me really happy that I try to discover all these places.. And share them with y'all. They do have some bakery goods, and this was new this time. It says you have to order them from your table. But if you want your Mexican bakery items, they've got them.. Enjoy

My husband has been getting his breakfast tacos here for years and finally brought me for breakfast! As soon as we entered, it was so nostalgic and reminded me of my valley days. It has that old school, authentic Mexican hole in the wall vibe. The walls are covered with memorabilia and photos of famous people that have stopped by. We even spotted two of the servers on some pictures that must’ve been over 10 years ago. You can tell they are loyal to this restaurant and love what they do! It was pretty busy around 10am on a Tuesday morning, but we spotted a booth that was available. Our server was busy but attended us as quickly as he could. We ordered a coffee to drink and it was such a good roast. Our server made sure it stayed refilled throughout our stay. For breakfast, my husband ordered the Joe’s special and I ordered the barbacoa plate. The prices are pretty expensive for breakfast but the quality of food was worth it. The flour tortillas are homemade and they were buttery and thin, just the way I like them. They were so good we had to order two more. They are smaller than I’m used to so we each had 3 total. My barbacoa was flavorful and not fatty at all. I did order some onion and cilantro on the side which I’m used to eating my barbacoa with but it did come at an upcharge. My eggs were cooked to perfection and the refried beans were delicious. I’m not a big fan of the way they cook their potatoes as they are round spears so my hubby ate those. My husband liked his carne guisada and the bacon was a little too fried for my liking but he sure ate it all. We ate it all up and left nothing on the plate. That’s how good it all was! On our way out, we stopped by at their bakery and saw their options. They offer a variety of traditional sweet bread. We decided to skip out this time as we were so full. We will definitely be back for sure! I will say their breakfast tacos are priced so well ($2.75 each) that i will probably order those next time. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by for your next breakfast and lunch plans!

Joe’s Bakery & Coffee Shop in East Austin is a must for anyone craving authentic Tex-Mex breakfast and traditional Mexican pastries. It’s family-owned and has been serving up some of the best comfort food in the city for generations. The menu is loaded with an extensive variety of breakfast tacos, each one made fresh and packed with flavor, but the real star is the cheesy migas con todo plate. Don’t leave without grabbing a few of their baked goods from the counter! The conchas and empanadas are pure nostalgia. Joe’s blends old-school Austin charm with the warmth of a family-run kitchen.
Cassedy C — Google review
The food delicious! The service (our waiter) was professional, kind, and took good care of us. We ended our meal with some fresh concha from the bakery. Incredible! We can't wait to return to Austin to eat at Joe's!

Such a big disappointment. I have not been here in YEARS and it has significantly changed. There was no greeting with hospitality. In fact the lady that introduced herself with the spiked hair was extremely rude with NO COMMUNICATION skills. The food was terrible. Store bought stale crispy tacos, beef not seasoned. Quesadillas and enchiladas chicken were very bland. The menudo was decent but they charge .75 for cilantro. Like what’s menudo not paired with onion and cilantro? Queso was entirely too thick. I can’t imagine what it does in the inside. This use to be such an amazing place but I will not be coming back here ever. We left most of the food on the plate. We spent 175.00 because it was a large group. Our server Ms Linda was nice and pleasant. She was the only breath of fresh air we encountered.
Jasmine T — Google review
Joe’s Bakery has great breakfast tacos. We tried the bean and cheese, chorizo & egg, bacon & egg tacos. Having lived in the RGV, this was comparable in terms of quality. Server Victor Garcia was great. Will for sure stop by the next time visiting Austin!
Eric S — Google review
I had heard so much about how good the food was I had high expectations and was disappointed. The space is tight n dark. I like to see what I’m eating. No sweet tea available unless I make my own. At full price. I ordered chips n salsa to enjoy before my lunch Not possible(?). It comes out w meal. That’s what cook wants. I was told. And it was a long wait for it. Chips were nice n crunchy like I like em but salsa rice beans were blah. First time I ever had to use knife to eat my enchiladas bc chicken was not shredded. It had 3” chunks of chicken!? What! It was an experience just not one I wanted. Disappointing Joes has nothing on Jaliscos in Bastrop. Great salsa! Enchiladas Rojas yum but if you want fajitas or grilled veggies try El Nuevo in Bastrop. Now Morelas has the plate it’s called “alambre”. Love the buttery mushrooms on this no I’m not getting paid

Located in the Driskill Hotel at the bustling corner of Sixth and Bravos streets, 1886 Cafe & Bakery pays tribute to its heritage by offering a Victorian tearoom-style setting reminiscent of a lunchroom founded by the Heritage Society in 1886. Since its opening on July 4, 2002, this cafe has become a popular gathering place for both locals and visitors. The menu features mouthwatering Texan comfort food and breakfast classics.
Went for breakfast and it’s some of the best baked goods and coffee I’ve ever had. Plain and simple. I got their waffle and bacon and it was awesome! My wife got the gluten free blueberry muffin and fruit and wow! The atmosphere of this spot, being in the Driskell, is a really cool vibe! 10/10

Amazing atmosphere. Such a sense of History in the hotel. The cafe has great brunch. I had the ladybird egg white omelette. It was so good. I ordered a to-go one to take home to my son. You have to go in and order at the counter and then you can pick where you want to sit, whether it's in the cafe itself or out in the lounge area of the hotel or on the patio. It was great fun
Diane W — Google review
Pretty good breakfast options overall. They had a gluten free muffin which was nice. The Driskill breakfast was good but it seemed a little stingy on the scrambled eggs. We were told that some options were recently scaled down because of new ownership. For example, only whole milk (no skim or 2% for lattes). They also didn't have honey and didn't allow for regular coffee refills. Music was a bit loud in the cafe also but the decor was nice. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you're staying in the hotel it's a quick close option.
DBradshaw25 — Google review
The Driskill Café is stunning, with high ceilings, beautiful details, and a warm, historic vibe — definitely worth a visit for coffee or a pastry, which looked delicious in the display. Unfortunately, our breakfast didn’t live up to the setting. My partner had the turkey B.L.T.,which he didn’t enjoy and couldn’t finish — and that says a lot. My yogurt was alright but too sour because of the amount of lemon juice that was in it. If the food had been better, this would have been our go-to breakfast spot in Austin. As it was, we didn’t end up coming back during our stay.
Leonie T — Google review
Stopped by here for something sweet, but the guy at the counter seemed to be annoyed that we wanted to order something. I understand that you’re about to close and finishing up, but we literally went 30 mins before closing and not 5 mins. We’ve got the cookie with everything, I forgot the name. It was good but dry. And it was $7? Crazy

Tucked inside the historic Driskill Hotel, the 1886 Café & Bakery is a cozy, elegant spot with vintage vibes and Southern charm. From the beautiful decor to the warm atmosphere, it’s like stepping back in time in the best way. We enjoyed delicious pastries and comforting breakfast, all made with care. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was relaxed yet refined. Whether you’re in for a hearty breakfast or just coffee and dessert, it’s the perfect place to pause and savor. ⭐️ A must-try in downtown Austin where history meets flavor.

Nervous Charlie's Bagels is a must-visit spot in Austin for bagel lovers. The shop was founded by a Long Islander with a passion for New York-style bagels, using locally sourced ingredients and top-quality supplies from New York. Whether you're grabbing breakfast on the go or meeting friends for brunch, Nervous Charlie's welcomes everyone. Their menu features delicious bagels with a variety of cream cheese flavors and sandwiches.
We had a great time at Nervous Charlie’s! The lox bagels we got were perfectly toasted, delicious - up to par with some of the best bagels I’ve had from all over the states. The cold brew slaps too. Good music, and the workers were really kind and quick to get our meal to us on a Saturday afternoon! Thanks y’all.

Great bagel sandwiches! Our order did take a little while to be prepared, and once it was we don’t hear a shut out so several more minutes passed until we went to ask about our order a second time. But the bagels are yummy! Also the strawberry cucumber tea(?) drink was so so good! It almost tasted of watermelon? Very refreshing on a hot summer day.
Malavika K — Google review
New Yorker bagel snob here. Had zero expectations for a proper bagel in Austin. This place is not bad at all. Excellent service and atmosphere. For the bagel alone - a solid 3.5, which is above average and (as noted) unexpected for Austin. Cooked properly, toasted perfectly. Mostly what I'd expect texturally, a little on the bland side flavor-wise but not bad in any way. Not quite a NY bagel - but quite good for TX. Would recommend.
C A — Google review
This place is great! The bagels were fantastic with lots of flavor! I added a touch of salt to my bagel and it really popped the flavors. They were generous with the avocado. Tomatoes were ripened as well. Music was a touch loud but over all awesome place.

I’ve really enjoyed 2/3 different bagels I’ve tried. The pastrami bagel is my favorite so far. I appreciate the customizations you’re able to make like picking the type of bagel 🥯 or cream cheese that you want. I’d like to try a few more of their other stuff for sure.

They have Salt Bagels! Really great Bagels, my wife got the everything bagel which looks amazing. This place gets really busy, the first time we came we couldn’t park. We are here on a Saturday morning around 8 and it isn’t bad.

I drove two hours excited to finally try Nervous Charlie’s Bagels, but was met with closed doors. The shop is temporarily closed for renovations, but unfortunately, there was no information about this on their website or Google Maps. It was really disappointing to make such a long trip without any updates posted. I truly love bagels and was looking forward to this visit, so I hope they reopen soon, I’d still love to come back and give them a proper try!

If you're on the hunt for a breakfast experience that will leave you satisfied well into the afternoon, look no further than Juan in a Million. Nestled in East Austin since the 1980s, this beloved eatery is renowned for its oversized breakfast tacos and traditional Tex-Mex dishes served in a cozy setting with an inviting outdoor patio. Owned by former school teachers Juan and Myrna Meza, every visit feels like coming home to family.
Absolutely amazing food , prices and service. Im from California and it's so hard to find a good menudo. Some of the best ive ever had. We also go the don juan taco. Its was also delicious and such a great serving size.

Juan in a Million is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Get ready to fall in love with their Don Juan El Taco Grande and Con Queso Breakfast Plate. We certainly did. Sharing each plate was compulsory. My only regret is that I cannot eat here regularly. As a visitor to Austin, I feel very fortunate to have chosen this as our last breakfast before heading to the airport. We still felt satisfied after our two hour flight home.

This is probably most popular Mexican restaurant in Austin. There usually a waiting line especially on the weekend. Burrito are huge and good value. Breakfast is pretty good, it is hearty, fresh tortilla goes well with the meal. It would be better if they have chilaquiles. For a popular Mexican restaurant, it is strange that they don't offer it.

Absolutely delicious!! Great stop for breakfast. I had two tacos, one with potato/egg and the other with sausage/egg. Both were super delicious! Service was great and the ambiance is super cozy. The chips they gave us were light and super crispy. 10/10 recommend.

Juan in a million is my favorite breakfast in Austin. The Don Juan is the staple and is a mound of breakfast taco filling. They have the Mexican sodas and frescas. I’d recommend getting two extra tortillas with the Don Juan. Be aware, this place can be popping busy. It ranges from no one there to a 30 person line.

Excellent service! As soon as we sat down, we had water and chips & salsa. Prices are affordable and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The food came out lightning fast! It took less than 10 minutes after we ordered. It’s perfect for a quick meal or for a family gathering. Parking is limited but this Austin gem is so worth it!
Geoff G — Google review
Juan in a Million – My Go-To Spot in East Austin (Visited Oct 25, 2025) Man, I gotta say, after living in Austin for over a decade, I’ve hit up my fair share of taquerias and Tex-Mex joints, but Juan in a Million on Cesar Chavez is hands-down my absolute favorite. I’m there at least once a month—sometimes for a quick breakfast run before work, other times for a lazy Saturday brunch with the family. Dropped in last Saturday, October 25th, around 10:30 AM, and it was just as magical as always. Place was buzzing but not chaotic, and we snagged a table on the patio without much wait. If you’re new to town or just haven’t made it here yet, do yourself a solid and go. This isn’t some flashy chain; it’s the real deal, run by folks who pour their heart into every plate. We started with the basics because, let’s be honest, you can’t skip the breakfast tacos when you’re at Juan’s. I grabbed two chorizo and egg ones for myself—those homemade corn tortillas are soft and slightly chewy, like they were pressed fresh that morning (which they probably were). The eggs are scrambled just right, fluffy but not overcooked, and the chorizo? Oh man, it’s got that perfect smoky spice without setting your mouth on fire. My wife went for the veggie option with potatoes and cheese, and even she was raving about how the flavors pop with a little of their house salsa verde on top—tangy, herby, and with a kick that builds slow. We shared a side of the elote too, because why not? Grilled corn kernels tossed in cotija, mayo, lime, and chili powder—messy perfection in a cup. Total for apps and tacos: about $15, and it fed three of us easy. For mains, I finally caved and ordered the legendary Don Juan taco, which I’ve heard about forever but somehow always pass up for the classics. Holy cow, what have I been missing? This thing is a monster—think a giant flour tortilla stuffed to the gills with refried beans (creamy, not mushy), scrambled eggs, crispy bacon bits, hash browns, melted cheese, and a big ol’ scoop of guac. It’s basically breakfast burrito royalty, and at under $6, it’s criminal how good the value is. Took me three bites to polish it off, and I wasn’t even stuffed yet. The hubs got the huevos rancheros, which arrived looking like a work of art: two sunny-side-up eggs on crispy tostadas, smothered in that rich ranchero sauce (roasted tomatoes, onions, jalapeños—mild enough for the kids but flavorful), topped with avocado and a sprinkle of queso fresco. He paired it with a side of charro beans that were smoky and hearty, not your standard soupy mess. My little one demolished a kid-sized plate of cheese quesadilla and rice, and they even cut it into fun shapes without us asking. Portions here are generous across the board—no skimping to boost your bill. We washed it all down with their fresh-squeezed orange juice (pulpy and sweet, none of that from-concentrate nonsense) and a couple of those massive house margaritas on the rocks for the adults—extra lime, because Austin heat demands it, even in late October. The drinks are strong but balanced, not too sweet, and priced right at $8 a pop. Service was on point as usual; our server, Rosa, is a total pro—chatty in that friendly Austin way, refilling waters without hovering, and she hooked us up with extra tortillas when we ran low (because, duh, we were double-wrapping everything). The whole meal wrapped up in about 45 minutes, bill came to $42 for the three of us including tip, and we left with smiles and full bellies. In a city where brunch can run you $20 a head for avocado toast, this is refreshingly affordable and way more satisfying.

The staff was welcoming as soon as I walked in. I had the chorizo with egg and migas with cheese breakfast tacos. They were great and had authentic Mexican taste to them. Plus, they served complimentary chips and salsa.

Kerbey Lane Cafe in Round Rock is part of a well-loved chain known for its diverse locations and inviting atmosphere. This particular spot, nestled in a charming shopping center, boasts ample indoor and outdoor seating along with a play area for kids and a dog-friendly patio. The menu consistently delivers delicious American comfort food, making it an ideal spot for brunch or any meal. Whether you're craving classic breakfast fare or flavorful enchiladas, this cafe has something to satisfy every palate.
Had a fantastic breakfast at Kerbey Lane! The coffee was rich and smooth—exactly what I needed to kickstart my morning. I had an omelette that was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, with fresh-cut fruits on the side that were crisp, sweet, and beautifully presented. But the real standout was the pancakes—especially the carrot cake and the gluten-free ones. The carrot cake pancake had the perfect balance of sweetness and spice, almost like having dessert for breakfast, and the gluten-free option was just as fluffy and flavorful as a regular one, which is rare to find! Great service, cozy atmosphere, and consistently delicious food. This place never disappoints—definitely one of my top breakfast spots in Austin.

I love this restaurant! I told the waitress it was my first time here and she gave me the entire run down of options of what to order. She also told me kids eat free on Tuesdays and helped me figure out items I could get as kids rather than main items to help me save money (my favorite!). Also, the vibe is so perfect, local artists have art in the walls. I just loved my experience. And the food was so delicious!!! Super win all around!!! ❤️

We have had many items on the menu it’s good but some items not so good. I had let the waitress know for example biscuit and gravy entree was bland dry and didn’t taste good. I asked if the recipe had changed she said no and didn’t do anything to try and make it right. She was busier chatting with staff and we kept having to flag her down for food and drink orders. She only asked how things were once didn’t offer refills and didn’t care to check in. That’s the only no for me and my family. However, minus that one waitress won’t mention by name maybe she was having an off day. Only other item not a fan was the pulled pork sandwhich flavor not bad but the batch I had super dry. On the good - All of our waiters and waitresses always friendly and kind. Food general is yummy and drinks non alcoholic and alcoholic. Queso is the best! Still worth a try. Menu was recently updated. Our favorites are the lemon poppy pancakes, deviled eggs, salmon, truffle fries, breakfast tacos, beef is delicious. Worth a try. We love also our Kerbey lane Tshirts!

However, the restroom cleanliness was extremely disappointing, there was a strong urine odor, overflowing trash, and a broken soap dispenser. It really took away from an otherwise positive experience.

Ordered take out this morning and their quality has really gone downhill, at least for to go orders. Pancakes are a significantly smaller and avocados are brown. Used to love this place.

Great atmosphere. It's clean and inviting. Great color scheme and overall ambiance. Service was great also. We had a seasonal red velvet pancake. For the price, I think they could serve it with more attention to detail and exciting presentation. It only had a drizzle of some kind of sweet cream on top. I suggest adding a dollop of whipped cream, powdered sugar and the drizzle on top. This would make me feel excited to eat the food. I wouldn't go back for the food.

Always consistent and always very timely with your food. The original location is charming, but parking can be a chore, unless you choose the time carefully. Ask for Erika as your server at the Kerby Lane location. She really leans into making your latte beautiful and just enjoys her job.

Geraldine's is a vibrant American restaurant and bar located in Austin, Texas. It offers a Texas-style menu with carefully crafted cocktails and live music performances. The rooftop deck provides stunning views of Lady Bird Lake, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the eclectic music scene. Additionally, guests can take advantage of complimentary valet parking for a convenient dining experience. The restaurant also offers upscale brunch options with picturesque views of the downtown skyline and live jazz music on weekends.
Sure! Here’s a polished and natural rephrasing of your review: ⸻ I’ll definitely be back. The food was delicious—especially the omelette, which was outstanding. The potatoes were tasty, the sausage fresh, and the eggs cooked perfectly. The biscuits were a bit dry, but that didn’t take away from the overall meal. While the service wasn’t the best this time, I’m hoping for a better experience with a different server on my next visit. One surprising highlight was the music—it was so good I didn’t even realize it was live until later (I was seated away from the musician). Overall, a great first visit, and I’m absolutely looking forward to returning.

Very unique food but it was amazing! Forgot to take a photo of the steak, halibut and lamb because we ate it so fast! It was amazing. The staff were so friendly and attentive.

Wow. As a chef myself, I think what chef Andrew Amador and the team at Geraldine's really have something special here. The live music, the addictive craft cocktails, the flawless composed dishes leaving the kitchen had my girl and I thoroughly impressed, and our pallets pleased. Thank you TY for your impeccable timing and service this evening. We will be back soon!!

Geraldine’s captures the Austin vibe with style. The live music was fantastic, bringing real energy to the room and creating a setting that felt alive and connected to the city’s creative heart. The infused Tito’s cosmopolitan was a standout. It was smooth, balanced, and had just enough of a twist to make it memorable. The short rib was rich and flavorful, perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. For anyone dairy-free, though, this may not be the easiest spot. Most dishes contained dairy, and the kitchen wasn’t able to offer alternatives or adjustments. That made the menu pretty limiting. Geraldine’s delivers a strong experience overall, especially for the music and cocktails. Just keep dietary restrictions in mind when planning your visit.

I am particular about my food. This restaurant is fantastic. We had a super dinner there and another fantastic breakfast. The service was fantastic. The music was good. The food was absolutely perfect, and very unique as well. Congrats to the Exec Chef, management and staff. I will always come here when visiting Austin.

A decent brunch spot with live music. The restaurant is located in Hotel Van Zandt on the fourth floor. Upon entering the lobby, there is a single elevator immediately to the right that takes you up to the restaurant. The restaurant has a nice brunch vibe with lively chatter and music. The brunch menu is smaller than the dinner menu, but has enough options to select from. The biscuits come with a lovely honey butter and jam. The burger is solid for a restaurant burger. I would recommend requesting to add lettuce or spring mix in it or on the side as the burger is very meaty. There are two smash-style patties, bacon, egg, cheese, and pickles. The fries have a nice herb seasoning.
Dylan Y — Google review
Went for the jazz brunch, the musicians were great and the ambiance was top too. It wasn't too loud and we were able to carry conversation without having to shout or worry about loud tables. The downside was definitely the eggs benedict. It was a tad overpriced, undercooked, and surprisingly, had too much truffle. It was served with a wilted salad that soaked up the egg and hollandaise sauce to a gross extent. The fries and chicken sandwich were quite good however. Make sure to get the cinnamon rolls, they were delicious.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery is a vibrant and retro chain that offers a seasonal menu featuring creative breakfast and lunch options along with cocktails. One of their popular dishes is the Snooze classic, which includes farm-fresh cage-free eggs, chorizo, crispy hash browns, and an English muffin. Guests are recommended to try the crispy hash browns with Cholula or Yellowbird hot sauce.
We had such a wonderful experience at Snoozer Eatery! Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. She even surprised us with a flight of pancakes for the table after overhearing it was my birthday. Such a thoughtful touch that really made the visit special! The food was delicious, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. The mimosas were huge, which felt like a treat (a bit on the pricey side). Overall, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service made the whole experience feel extra special. Definitely a place I’d recommend.
TopFoodieReview — Google review
A Mixed Brunch Experience with Highs and Lows Our recent brunch visit presented a mixed bag of delightful surprises and disappointing misses. On the positive side, the green juice was a standout, earning raves from everyone at our table. My Bloody Mary was also quite good. A highlight was our server's attentiveness; her proactive inquiry about food allergies and intolerances immediately put me at ease, especially as someone with a severe shellfish allergy. This thoughtful approach truly showed their commitment to diner safety. However, the food quality was inconsistent. My Benny with poached egg and tomato was a letdown. One egg was overcooked and jammy, while the other was runny with undercooked white, and the anticipated cheese sauce arrived unpleasantly cold, significantly detracting from the dish. The dish had potential, but the inconsistent execution marred the experience. While the hash browns were a universal hit—perfectly seasoned and delicious—we'd recommend skipping the bacon appetizer, as it was unremarkable. The most significant disappointment was the strawberry pancake ordered by my daughter's girlfriend. It was truly off-putting, with an unappetizing grayish-beige sauce and an overwhelmingly, shockingly sweet flavor. Overall, while the service and some drink options shined, the inconsistent food quality, particularly with the Benny and strawberry pancake, left us with mixed feelings about our brunch experience. I think I'd like to try them again when they aren't so busy. I also think that sticking to the simpler options on the menu might be necessary in order to get a higher quality experience.

I have come 3 times in a row. Met by happy helpful host/server. Seated promptly and attended to with smiles and grace. I’ve had Benedict’s and pancakes and they were great. The home made hash brown was hot and crisp. The blueberry pancakes fresh and juicy. The fresh squeezed OJ is like the icing on the cake.

My new FAVORITE! This was a great atmosphere. My girls and I ordered a plethora of different food items cause everything on the menu looked so good and let me tell you.. not one thing was a disappointment . Every item was super delicious and fresh. I’ll definitely be visiting often
Emily L — Google review
The protein omelet was fluffy, packed with savory sausage, bacon, and cheddar, and perfectly folded. The BLT breakfast bowl took comfort food to another level—crispy bacon, fresh greens, roasted tomatoes, and a perfectly poached egg on top of seasoned potatoes. But the star? Those pumpkin spice pancakes—light, fluffy, warmly spiced, and drizzled with real maple. Every bite screamed fall. Service was fast, friendly, and the vibe was upbeat without being rushed. Snooze nails creative twists on classics while keeping flavors balanced and fresh. Already craving round two!

My friend and I came for brunch around 1:30pm on a Saturday. We did have about a 15 minute wait for a table to open up. They have a very big menu with some gluten free options. I ordered the fried rice and my friend got the hash browns. The service was a bit slower since they were busy. However, we still got our food within a reasonable amount of time. I didn’t find my dish particular memorable. There wasn’t a ton of meat in the fried rice and I’m glad I ordered extra veggies to add to the dish. The more traditional brunch options looked great though and I would come back to try something else.

Great place for breakfast. We visited twice during our stay. I had an omelette and hash brown with gluten free sourdough. The second time I had a GF pancake - both meals were delicious. 100% worth a visit.

Tiny Boxwoods Austin is an upscale garden cafe with a bright and airy atmosphere, offering a menu of light fare and renowned chocolate chip cookies. The restaurant is known for its classic chocolate chip cookie style, featuring a perfect balance of crunchiness and chewiness with high-quality chocolate chips. Guests can also enjoy picturesque surroundings while dining on dishes like blueberry pancakes in the elegant dining space filled with natural light and greenery.
I was lucky to get a parking spot right in front for Sunday brunch. The parking lot is very small and a market was taking up half of it. They do offer valet. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day. It is a very relaxing garden atmosphere that is so unlike most places in Austin. It felt more like an east coast beach town than anything else. It was hard to choose, but felt like a sandwich and took the waiter’s advice to get sweet potato waffle fries. There’s a little bakery next door and we got sown treats to go. Overall amazing experience and would come again.
Tiffany M — Google review
Parking - there’s a lot with several spaces, more parking at the complex next door, and some street parking next to that. Can be difficult/hectic during prime brunch hours. Reservations are recommended (when possible) as they can get very busy. I’ve been here a couple of times (once seated at a table, twice at the bar). The table service was great and the waiters were attentive. The bar service is hit or miss, on one occasion sitting near the coffee machines, we felt very rushed by the bartender - we were planning to order some pastries to go, but we were just given the check right after getting our entrees. Food - Pastry board - a good option if you have a couple pastries that you want to try. The vanilla bean brioche is amazing - would 100% get again, the chocolate croissant was good, and I would skip the chocolate & orange croissant next time - this was good but nothing special. Migas - very good and filling. Overall rating 5/5. Breakfast Sammie with sausage - everything was great about this, the eggs, protein, and even the side of potatoes. A bit heavier but delicious. Overall rating 5/5. Burger - got this during a different visit and it was also very good. The fries were good, but not my favorite. Overall rating 4/5.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick cute brunch spot this morning. We found Tiny Boxwoods and thought the vibe was nice and the food looked great through some of the photos online. Once we arrived, parking was definitely a bit difficult. However, we found a spot and walked past Tiny's Milk and Cookies (my GFS favorite), and we're excited to find out they were directly connected to Tiny Boxwoods. We didn't make a reservation, but I would highly recommend it! We got lucky because there was a table for two directly in the sun that no one else wanted lol. While the sun was HOT, the atmosphere made up for it! Our server was so kind and very helpful. She answered all of our questions and even let us in on some tips that made us so excited to come back! (Hint: Pastry board=Tiny's...). We ordered the Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich as well as the Lucky Burger. We split both and nobody was disappointed! The club had a perfect balance of pesto and avocado while the turkey was fresh and filling. The burger was simple but in the absolute best way possible. The bun was fluffy and the meat was cooked well! The patty just melted in the mouth! Both sides (sweet potato and regular fries) paired very well with the main entree! We are so excited to come back for that pastry board ;))

We visited Tiny Boxwoods during a weekend trip & it was absolutely one of our very favorites! Whenever I return to Austin, this will be a must! Not only is the surrounding area very cute, but the restaurant is very tasty! We both got the 'Mother's Breakfast' with a side of fries - one side of house fries & another of waffle sweet potato fries. Truly you can't go wrong here!

We had a small baby shower brunch this weekend at Tiny Boxwoods in Austin and it was 10/10!!! This is the perfect place for a date or brunch with the girls. First of all, reserving a table with a phone call to the restaurant was really easy and they were very accommodating when I wanted to add another person a few days before. The vibes - immaculate. The details - they didn’t miss. Even their menus are beautiful! They have delicious iced lattes and their appetizers were DELISH. I’m still dreaming about the wood fired artichokes! Our food was amazing. Our server was great and I have zero complaints about anything. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Food here is always great, especially the pastries! Family friendly and delicious with a beautiful patio area. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and food is great. Perfect for lunch or dinner on a sunny day. My favorite dishes are the French toast and the grilled cheese, and I never skip the brioche bun or chocolate croissant.

We sat in the garden of the restaurant. I would say this is a better option than sitting inside. A great place to enjoy the wine and delicious food. I love the fresh and local ingredients and that it's not typically American food. But it's typically well-cooked food.

Terrific experience! We were in town for a music festival (!) and found this spot. Food and service were both excellent. The coffee and Green Goddess salad to start set the tone, then the green chile enchiladas (me) and sweet corn cake Benedict (her) were flavorful, fresh and most enjoyable. Shoutout to Ana Maria, our server, who took great care of us with an assist from Wes, the manager. We will definitely return when we’re back in town! Highly recommend!

I was dubious, but it was fantastic. It was a peak time, and I was alone. Walter was my waiter and he did an excellent job. He gave me just the right amount of privacy, made excellent suggestions, and made sure I was taken care of. The deviled eggs were incredible, the steak was delicious and cooked perfectly to what I asked for. Even the fries and the garnishes were good. I don’t have a single bad thing to say, which is unusual for me lol.

The food was great. We started with the burrata and it was amazing. We got the chicken schnitzel which was really good. The bistro steak sandwich was phenomenal—tender, juicy, and super filling. We ended with a tres leches that was the perfect dessert. Our server Aron was awesome 👍

After another trip to Austin and trying "the best barbecue", I decided to switch tracks and get a regular meal. I stumbled across this corner restaurant and had the best food I had in two trips to Austin. I didn't have a reservation but they were happy to seat me at the bar which I actually enjoy even though I don't drink. The bartenders were both quite busy but helped me immediately when I sat down. One recommended the Wild Mushroom Bolognese and he was right. It was fantastic. I started with sweet tea and spicy deviled eggs. Whatever was on the center of the plate was gone when I finished the eggs. The Bolognese was delicious with the pasta cooked perfectly. The biggest problem with mushrooms is they're usually overcooked. These were perfect and added texture and flavor to the sauce. I definitely recommend this bustling restaurant if you have time and I do suggest a reservation.

Visited Caroline and overall enjoyed the flavors, but had a few notes. The portions were a bit small, particularly the cauliflower grits, which were tasty but too little for the size of the short rib which was delicious. The greens paired with it were served plain, taking up most of the plate without any sauce such a flavorful dish deserved a bit more thought in presentation. The mahi was full of flavor, but the dish felt like it needed a starch to balance the acidity. The burrata with pesto and tomatoes was delicious, but pairing it with store bread didn't feel right. The multigrain bread was tasty, but I'd prefer fresh, bakery-quality bread instead. Overall, great flavors and the experience, but the plating and portion choices could use a bit of refinement.

It started with a great table by the window facing Congress. Great service from Aaron. I said I wanted a smoothie and he suggested the Berry Basil Smoothie. Great flavor! Enjoying every sip. Aaron also suggested the Spinach and Feta Egg Whites Omelet with sourdough toast and strawberry jam. The omelet was delicious. The omelet came with breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were cooked nicely and they had a slight crispness to them. Did I say I got great service from Aaron. I like the jazzy upbeat vibe of the restaurant.

10/10 over all! Came from New Jersey and will definitely be back! Such a vibe sitting outside and enjoy some people watching, sunshine and great food! Our server Aaron suggested all the amazing things including the Marshallow Latte. It came hot and I was disappointed I read it wrong - he poured it over ice with ease and that extra service really made this moment & dads get away that much better! Def. ask for Aaron

Breakfast at Snooze on South Lamar was a real treat! I ordered the Garden Harvest Omelet, and it was a great way to kickstart the day. It was so fresh and flavorful, packed with veggies and topped with creamy avocado and the herbed cream cheese that added the perfect balance. The Rejuvenate Juice was bright and tangy, giving me that healthy boost I needed. But the real star was the OMG French Toast-hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly fluffy with that cinnamon-y crunch and drizzled in sweet decadence. Loved the friendly vibe here too; everyone was welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Snooze is definitely on my regular rotation for a satisfying brunch in Austin!

The restaurant is known for its delicious tacos, with options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Customers can enjoy their meals inside the cozy seating area or opt for picnic-style seats outside. Tacodeli also prides itself on its sustainable practices, such as using paper straws and offering fair trade sodas.
My husband and I stopped by Tacodeli for the first time, and we were both really impressed! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the tacos we tried had something special about it. We really enjoyed the variety on the menu and how well the flavors came together. It’s clear that quality ingredients and care go into the food here. The only small thing we noticed was that the flour tortillas could be cooked just a little more. It’s minor compared to how good everything else was. Overall, our first impression was excellent.

My colleague recommended this place to me back in 2022 when I visited the States. I find the Tacos here delicious, and usually I will order the beef ones. Never had any issue with the meat, always cooked to perfection and just how I like it, tender and juicy, especially the ones cut into cube size. Seating areas can be improved, if you come in a bigger group you will probably need to sit outside. Food is served fairly fast and the staff here is friendly and helpful. I had an issue with my phone with no signal and I needed help for directions to get back to my office and the staff there shared the direction to me when I asked for their help. Will try to make sure I visit this place every time I am in town in future.

A very refreshing taste in the Taco arena. I ordered FRONTERA FUNDIDO SIRLOIN tacos. The beef was tender and full of flavor. I tried three of the four salsa toppings with a side of chips and queso I liked how the chips were served in a clear, sealed bag. The atmosphere was very inviting, and clean. A variety of seating options including patio, bar style, and tables. The employees were friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend Fit or your Taco Tuesdays, Cinco de Mayo, and any other time you crave a deliriously different Taco

My large online order didn’t go through and I had no idea. I arrived at 8:20 and needed my order by 8:50. Eric at the Gracy Farms location didn’t hesitate- he asked me my order size and communicated with the kitchen to ensure they could complete my order in time for my 9AM meeting. All 50 tacos were ready by 8:40 and Eric helped me carry them out to my car. Excellent service from an Austin classic!

Wow! These tacos were great! And the service here was amazing. We had a large team visit and they accommodated us and all our requests. I did a “make your own” taco for both of mine and I really enjoyed them. The egg and avocado tasted fresh, bacon was crispy, and pico delicious. Thank you! Everyone else echoed a similar sentiment in enjoying their tacos. Weather was also beautiful in the morning so we sat outside. They have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. If you visit, I hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Cool place in downtown to have breakfast. Nice service and good seating arrangements. Reasonable selection though not as large as other places, adding a few omlets at least will be great for non meat eaters. However I had this "breakfast split" with bananas, berries, yogurt and granola. Very nice, filling and fresh! Courteous staff of course!!

I used to love coming to this location but recently one of the supervisors mason i think their name is. Was just one of the rudest people I have met here. They had the worst attitude while taking orders and basically just wanted to leave them alone and ignored me. The food was OK but it took forever to be brought to me and when it was it was pretty much slammed down in front of me and proceeded to be the wrong order. I don't know what happened but this place used to have a staff that seemed to like working here now it just feels like they don't like their jobs let alone anyone who comes into the shop

I had no idea this coffee shop served full-sized plates! They have a menu from breakfast to lunch. I was really impressed with the Migas Plate. The eggs were perfectly cooked, not dry, and they came with tortillas and great beans. There’s also a lot of space inside, even though it doesn’t look like it from the curb. I highly recommend checking it out for more than just a cup of coffee!

Cisco's Restaurant Bakery & Bar is an iconic daytime institution in Austin, offering a modest decor and a side of local history. This OG Mexican restaurant has been serving classic breakfast dishes like migas, biscuits, and huevos rancheros since the mid-1900s. The bright blue building stands out on E Sixth and is known for its Tex-Mex fare and historical significance.
Fun historic restaurant in the heart of east austin. The service and atmosphere were great, it had tons of old charm and decor. As far as the food goes, it was all well priced and quite delicious. I would say there are no frills here, you get what you order. The food was simple and direct to the point. The biscuits were great and once I ran out of tortillas with my migas, I just used them to make breakfast sandwiches. Will definitely be coming back for a cheap, fun meal!

Stopped in 11/17/24 just after noon. It looked promising but fell short. The restaurant was not packed but service was really slow. Ordered the Migas plate which was not bad and ordered 2 tacos which were bland. My biggest knock on this place was the tortillas, they had that fake smell because they were not homemade and all the cook had to do was heat them up thoroughly so they wouldn't have that doughy texture. My server was nowhere to be found so I found another waitress and asked her to ask the cook if he could provide some fully cooked tortillas to replace the ones we had. Our waitress finally brought the new tortillas and said no one has ever requested them to be cooked thoroughly and that blew my mind. Anyhow, I'll pass on this place when visiting Austin in the future.

This restaurant is a delicious part of Austin’s history! The building is over a hundred years old and has been home to Cisco’s since 1950. While I enjoy all of the food, my favorite dish is the chicken fried steak (which reminds me of my mother’s) served with a side of veggies and a delicious biscuit. The biscuits are handmade fresh daily and served all day. You can even get a bag of biscuits to go. They serve breakfast all day, so go ahead and order pancakes and fajitas! I wish they were open later, a chicken fried steak would be a great way to end a night out on east 6th!

How have I lived in Austin for 12 years and never been to Cisco's? The place is bigger than it looks and features a cute diner style area as well as a couple of dining rooms. Our server was super friendly and answered all of our questions as we perused the menu. We started off by trying the Salsa Toxica. It's their spicy salsa but has a really unique flavor. Then we ordered the Migas and the Huevos Rancheros. The migas were full of chips and veggies and the ranchero sauce was lovely. After seeing the kitchen staff pulling fresh, house-made biscuits out of the oven, we knew we had to try them as well. I never thought I would say this, but one of the best biscuits I've ever had is from a Mexican restaurant. You absolutely have to try them!! They have such a lovely flavor and consistency. I truly look forward to returning to Cisco's for more meals and more biscuits!

A local Tex Mex place in East Austin with some amazing biscuits. I got the Migas with a side of toasted biscuits, and it was delicious. I spent under $20 and was very satisfied and full. The space is small but comfortable, like an old school diner. Parking is quite plentiful nearby on the street.
Brandon O — Google review
We came for brunch, to meet up with friends who hadn’t been here since their youth. They claimed food taste has somewhat dropped. Perhaps due to new cooks and such. Regardless, we thought our food was of satisfactory Tex-Mex quality. This large yet cramped restaurant felt somewhat loud as we made our way to the back section for our seats. They have a lot of different pictures and such on their walls that I kept glancing at as I made my way to my seat.
Amy L — Google review
This place is a decent Mexican restaurant. The size portion on the food was generous. However the drink sizes were not. For the amount of beverage you received, it is way overpriced. Also, they do not allow checks to be split and it is not advised on the door, menu, or at the beginning of the meal, so know this going in.
Fred D — Google review
First time there. Ordered the picadillo enchiladas, combo fajitas, picadillo nachos and small tortilla soup. Everything was ok but could use a little more flavor. It was not mind blowing but I would probably go back after drinks downtown.

Mary's Café is a charming little eatery located in a quiet area just northeast of UT. The café, which pays tribute to the owner's mother, Mary, offers an array of delightful treats such as gourmet gelato and sorbet pops on a stick. It's the perfect spot for anyone craving breakfast or light cafe fare at any time of day. The menu features huge whole wheat wraps that are highly recommended for sharing with friends.
The Berry Tyler Moore waffle was awesome and was just the right amount of food my wife said. I tried the Shakerato and it was good, reminded me of a brown sugar shaken espresso. Would definitely like to come back and continue trying different items. The sandwiches look really good here.

The tofu wrap was tasty but a little pricey for what you get. The guys working were friendly and fast. Wouldn’t be some place I’d want to hang out at but good for takeout lunch.

Stopped in while in the area. The staff were great and they have a good selection of breakfast and lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich. It was good, but not the best I’ve had. I loved the bread they used though! I would go back and try the waffles.

Loved this little place ! Definitely will go again when returning to Austin. Waffles are great and loved the decorations. Everyone was friendly. Plus : saw the fresh products they were using to make the food.
Valerie L — Google review
Old school Austin vibe just down the hill from St Davids. Nice interesting group of diners, staff is young friendly and personally invested in accommodating customers and building clientele- - food is of the bagels and hot wraps. No table service. No frills. School cafeteria furnishings Good coffee. No blueberry pie :( Great warm friendly atmosphere (which is good because it is cozy)
Ronald P — Google review
It’s expensive. Don’t believe the people who say otherwise. It’s not egregious For Austin, but it’s rough. Bright side isn’t the pleasant room, it’s the especially high food quality. Each item I had was prepared above my expectations. It’s like they understand and practice all the basics every time. You shouldn’t ever have a disappointing experience here. Well-made food. (I’ve been multiple times)
Brad K — Google review
I’ve been coming here for years, always spending $20+ every visit and also tip, but after one of the workers made a remark about me bringing in a small outside item, I’m done. That’s crazy considering how long I’ve supported this place. And honestly, you can’t even say it’s about “rules” — they don’t even have a vent hood. The whole place reeks of grease, and every time I leave, my clothes smell so bad I have to change or shower. That seems a lot more concerning than me bringing outside food. If their prices weren’t sky-high, maybe I wouldn’t feel the need to bring something small. The food can be good, but it’s hit or miss lately — and between the smell, the attitude, and the price hikes throughout the years (customer service isn’t any better), it’s just not worth it anymore.
Ivan A — Google review
I should have taken a picture but I was too busy eating the best chicken salad on planet Earth. The staff is extremely warm, I got to hear Britney Spears and Maroon 5 out in the wild. The Mary Street waffle tasted like churros. 15400/10 We will be frequently. Side note the coffee was also, fantastic.

Swedish Hill is a well-established bakery and cafe with a warm atmosphere and outdoor seating. It offers an all-day menu featuring Swedish classics such as freshly baked croissants, bagels, breads, pastries, breakfast specials, soups, salads, and signature sandwiches on freshly baked breads. The Little Swedish Hill location in Clarksville also has a full coffee bar.
First time checking out Swedish Hill, and the flaky pastries were our favorites! I’m a sucker for anything cherry, and the tart cherry cream cheese danish, ham and cheese, kouign amann, and Nutella bun, almond croissant were amazing. We took a chance on the macarons (cranberry orange, gingerbread, and eggnog) but I’d probably skip them next time. As macarons go, they’re not as sweet as others, which I appreciate, but the texture was a bit too crisp, not as much chew as I’d expect from a macaron. The coffee is nice and strong and doesn’t feel watered down, I got the iced Swedish coffee (coconut cream and oat milk) and my mom got a hot almond milk latte with lavender. Both were delicious. Go for the flaky pastries and coffee! Sourdough looks yummy too!
Monique T — Google review
It's a beautiful bakery and coffee shop. The staff is delightful and fast-paced. I’d opt for their baked goods (the cinnamon roll might be the best in the city), but their breakfast tacos are shockingly good and light.

loveee this place! the staff always greets you with a warm smile. i got a nutella morning bun & it honestly is the best pastry ive ever had. the cinnamon sugar on the outside pairs perfectly with the buttery-flaky layers of the pastry & the nutella is not too sweet. ive had many good pastries in Austin but this is definitely one of my top favorites
Christine J — Google review
Beautiful little pastry shop! The pastries are next level delicious. There’s a line but it moves fast and the staff is very kind. Great chicken and pasta salads for anyone looking for a quick lunch or snack. There’s a decent bit of outdoor seating but only a few seats inside. Plan to enjoy the patio or take to go.

Sandwich was $16.50. That mountain of lettuce on the bottom was an extra $0.50 - forgot my cheese as well. I would describe this as a “sad” sandwich. Also the online order is missing options you can order in store.
Robert W — Google review
As a devoted connoisseur of fine pastry and cuisine, I find myself increasingly disheartened by the lack of consistency at this establishment. On one occasion, I discovered a fly in my fruit salad—an unfortunate lapse in attention to detail. Moreover, the portions have become erratic, varying significantly in both size and weight; a more precise approach, such as the use of scales, would surely resolve this inconsistency. Twice, I’ve encountered whole cakes that were disappointingly dry, with frosting that crumbled rather than caressed the palate—a far cry from the delicate balance one would expect. The bagels, regrettably, are the most underwhelming I have ever tasted, leading me to abandon them after several attempts. Perhaps most disappointing, however, is the consistently indifferent service, particularly from the older employee of Slavic descent, whose lack of enthusiasm and apparent disinterest in guest satisfaction are palpable. On a more positive note, the pâte feuilletée creations retain their excellence, consistently embodying the finesse one hopes for in such delicate pastries.
Elli S — Google review
I really wanted to love this place, and was expecting more for the hype. I think it was probably the time of day and year that I went that was the issue. They were out of most of their selection, and the one pastry tart I did get was unpleasantly soggy at the bottom, and the other bun I got was dry and stale. The service was so efficient and friendly however and I loved how bright and clean and pretty the interior was. I would try again because I’ve heard such great things!
Britt — Google review
Amazing cafe and bakery! Very busy on a Sunday morning but the line moved quickly and there were multiple outdoor seating areas. The iced coffee and the cinnamon roll were the standouts but the bagel egg sandwich and avocado toast were also good. Will be back!

Ovenbird in South Austin is a charming café and bakery that has quickly made a name for itself in the local brunch scene. This delightful spot combines Central and Eastern European influences, offering an array of specialty coffees, breakfast dishes, pastries, and sandwiches. One standout item is their breakfast sandwich served on a unique Bavarian croissant—a perfect blend of flaky croissant texture with pretzel-like chewiness.
This restaurant is truly a standout in every way. The ingredients are meticulously hand-selected, ensuring every dish is made with top-quality produce and meats. The flavors are thoughtfully crafted, resulting in a menu that feels both creative and satisfying. Their baked goods are nothing short of incredible — light, flavorful, and baked to perfection. What sets this place apart is the owner’s passion for curing their own meats, adding a personal and artisanal touch to many dishes. The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive, creating a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere. Notably, the restaurant is LGBTQ-friendly, which makes it even more inviting. If you're looking for a spot that combines exceptional food, thoughtful service, and a welcoming vibe, this place is a must-visit.

This place is absolutely lovely! The staff is personable and always ready to answer any questions about the menu. It is a cozy place to work from, have meet ups at, and the food is picturesque. They have monthly drag brunches every third Saturday, and you feel welcomed the moment you walk through their doors. Regarding food, the Lemon Meringue French Toast is a dose of sugar and slight sour! If you have a sweet tooth, I feel this is a must to put on your instagram. The B.L.T isn’t a game changer, but it is reliably good! The drink menu and pastries are where this place shines. I usually get a London Fog, but their seasonal Hill Country Fog is divine! Highly recommend it with oat milk, especially on partly cloudy days. Only downside of this place is there is nothing specifically labeled for vegan diets.

We came here on a Saturday around 11am. It was busy but we were able to find a table. You use a QR code on the table to order to there is minimal human interaction if you're looking for that. You can also order from the counter. We ordered a cup of the potato soup with a side salad and the breakfast sandwich. We also ordered a mimosa and a chai-rish for beverages. The soup was good and had large chunks of potatoes and thick cut bacon but it wasn't hot. The breakfast sandwich was good but not worth the 15 dollar price tag. The drinks were also mediocre. Overall it was a decent experience but I don't know how they justify their prices.

I love coming to this place for the food, drinks, and chill ambience. I've spent time studying and working here on several occasions. The staff has always been very friendly. On this occasion, I grabbed lunch with a couple of friends. I had the Shakshuka taco while they split the two different breakfast sandwiches and the smoked duck fat potatoes. The taco had a great flavor and came on a marbled rye tortilla which had an interesting (but not bad) texture. Their sandwiches were much larger than expected and they really enjoyed the flavors of both. I think my favorite, though, was the potatoes. They were super crispy and super flavorful. I would definitely eat those again. They also have a pastry case with rotating items baked fresh in house. I will continue coming back to try more food and drinks at Ovenbird.

My first visit to Ovenbird turned out to be an unexpected delight. I hadn’t heard of this place before, so discovering this hidden gem was a real treat. The atmosphere is bright, open, and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to start the day. I tried their made-from-scratch breakfast tacos, which were absolutely delightful, paired with a refreshing iced tea. The service was prompt and efficient, and to top it off, they even offered me a complimentary iced tea refill. A nice touch that didn’t go unnoticed. I’m already excited about my next visit and can’t wait to bring the whole family along to enjoy it too!

My husband and I came in for brunch today and I just had to leave a review. I ordered the Turkish eggs (delicious, by the way) and we had one of the best experiences we’ve ever had at this cafe. We’ve been in once or twice before and always enjoyed it, but today stood out. The blonde haired girl, her name was something like Holly or Sage, I can’t quite remember, was so helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. She really guided us through it and made great recommendations. After we finished eating, she chatted with us for a good ten minutes and even had us laughing. It made the whole visit feel so warm and personal. Highly recommend this spot!

I will start off by admitting this really isn't my kind of restaurant. Leroy and Lewis had a 1.5hr line. And I did t have enough time so I found something close and on the way to the airport without really looking much more into the place.... unfortunately the breakfast sandwich wasn't my thing at all. The sausage patty was thick! Too thick and very overpowering. The bun may have been decent toasted, but the way it was, wasn't tasty either. Egg was cooked to perfection though! Wasn't a huge fan of the pesto sauce, but when i took off the sausage it was a little better. I also ordered a cold brew, which I also wouldn't usually get. I hated it but since it's not my thing I can't knock them for that part. Service was fast and friendly. Overall I wouldn't be back for food.

The Well, situated in the 2nd Street District of downtown Austin, offers a unique blend of wellness and indulgence. Their beverage program includes biodynamic, natural, and organic wines as well as cocktails made with cold-pressed juices and natural sweeteners like agave, honey, and dates.
Very, very nice ambiance here. Upscale without the huge upscale prices. Great lighting, seating, greenery and wall murals. Ask for a booth! Reservations recommended. We came for Sunday brunch. Our server Emily was fantastic. She took great care of us at a very busy time! The food servings were adequate and the food quality was great. Lots of gluten and dairy free choices. The oatmilk pancakes were thin, but very delicious. The salmon avocado toast with arugula was a definite favorite. The steak and eggs were substantial and cooked to perfection. The chorizo sweet potato hash was very tasty even though it did not have much chorizo. The sweet potatoes, squash, and peppers made for a very delicious hash! See pictures and leave feedback if it looks good!

The Well is a trendy downtown Austin spot with a beautifully decorated interior. I went for brunch and started with the ceviche: salmon in a coconut-citrus sauce served with blue corn chips. It was fresh and tasty, but clearly meant as an appetizer rather than a full meal. I also tried their açai bowl and was disappointed—the consistency was very watery, and the acai flavor seemed overpowered by other fruits. Overall, great ambiance, but the food left me wanting more.

I usually love The Well and recommend it to everyone, but my most recent experience at the downtown location was very disappointing. I picked up an order and when I got home, I found hair in my food, not just once, but twice. I even attached photos when I reached out to the restaurant. On top of that, I ended up with a bad stomach ache and diarrhea afterward. This was really upsetting. I hope management takes this seriously, as it was not only unappetizing but also made me sick.

The Well had that composed, modern charm that makes you feel you’ve stepped into a place that knows what it’s doing. The space was warm and stylish, the lighting soft, the sound of conversation balanced just right. Service, though, kept its distance. Maybe it was because we were a large group, but the staff mostly hovered nearby rather than checking in. When a glass broke, they were suddenly all presence and precision, making sure our guest was fine before fading back again. The food started strong. Every appetizer impressed in its own way. The quinoa and mushrooms had just enough heat, the beef tartare was tender and vibrant, the ceviche bright and clean. My Wagyu steak frites should have been the highlight, perfectly cooked and paired with a lively chimichurri, but the plate was cold and the butter sat untouched on top. It dulled what could have been an exceptional dish. Dessert tried to be inventive, though the avocado mousse was more concept than pleasure. By the end, I couldn’t shake the small disappointment. Everything pointed toward excellence, yet the final impression cooled just like that plate, still good but not quite warm enough to remember fondly.

I had a fantastic visit to this place! The latte was very good and the latte art was a nice touch. The salmon soba noodles felt healthy and complemented the sweet hot cakes — and let me tell you, the hot cakes were worth it. The savory pancakes were also great. If you’re feeling adventurous, go for the roti and scrambled eggs — hands down the best thing on the menu. Coffee lovers rejoice: they sell beans too, and I highly recommend the “Proud Thinker” roast. Will definitely be back!

We tried Proud Mary’s for the first time and overall it was pretty good. The vibe is great, and the service was quick. Prices are a bit steep for breakfast, but that’s pretty standard for Austin. The cold brew was excellent! Just a heads-up—it's really warm inside, and the seating is mostly stools, which may not be comfortable or accessible for everyone.
Marissa R — Google review
Beautiful, aesthetically-pleasing spot with lots of relaxing natural light, huge windows, unique coffee options, and extremely uncomfortable seating (which seems to be all the rage lately/is prob a way to get customers to eat & leave asap). Service was pretty fast (no wait time for a weekday afternoon brunch vibe), tho the servers were giving “I don’t want to be here” icy-but-pleasant-enough energy and not the typical Austin-style bubbly/friendly. Coffee: good, tho not mind-blowing, esp for the elevated pricing. I got the nitro cold brew, which was VERY strong and had a satisfying malt-y flavor and texture. My friends got the bougie, but decadent pour-over flight and they LOVED one of the coffee selections, but said the other 2 were somewhat uneventful and meh. It’s cool they sell their own beans too. We grabbed some from the front on our way out. FYI, they do NOT have half and half. Yes, it’s one of *those* places lmao 🫨🤫🤔 For food, I got the salmon soba bowl, which was…ok. Flavors were peanut-y and vibrant, but the salmon portion was hilariously tiny for a $20 plate. Kinda disappointing and not very filling. Parking is free for 1.5 hours. Validate at the front register.

I give them 4stars for two reasons. I wanted the salmon soba noodle salad and they didn’t have it, because of this I would not give a 4 stars because LIFE HAPPENS but.. The second that I order and they did have was kimchi Reuben. It was really good but the bread was huge and I couldn’t grab it cause it brake so much .. I do recommend it but with other bread. The filling needs to be the same with different bread. COFFEE WAS AMAZING💖 definitely 5stars.

Proud Mary Coffee is a true gem for coffee lovers! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and the rich aroma of expertly roasted beans. Their coffee is next-level — smooth, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care and precision. Whether you’re ordering a single-origin pour-over or one of their signature blends, every cup is a work of art. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do, making the experience even more enjoyable. Proud Mary also offers a creative and delicious food menu that pairs perfectly with their beverages. It’s clear that quality and sustainability are top priorities here, from their sourcing practices to their beautifully presented dishes. It can be quiet here during the week and very busy on weekends. The coffee list is amazing. Pour over heaven. Definitely a foodie place that pays attention to detail. They have several df and gf options. Shout out to Linda and Sophie for being awesome!

Nice little cafe with a fun menu. The Aussie meat pie was out of this world, the day we visited the special filling was beef and cheese. The breakfast burger was also delicious. The turmeric dirty chai was a unique spin on a drink that I order often and it was a delightful change of pace. Staff were very friendly and service was quick and efficient.

Texas French Bread is a charming bakery and cafe located near The University of Texas at Austin. They take pride in offering artisan breads and farm-to-table dinners, sourcing their ingredients from local vendors with a focus on sustainability. The menu features a variety of dishes, including sandwiches for lunch and bistro fare for dinner. In addition to their delectable bread options like baguettes and pecan raisin bread, they also serve half-priced wine, beer, and cider on select days.
I had literally been years since I have been here and so glad I went. Still love it! I moved further away and glad to be reminded about it. They are working out of the food trailer and do an amazing job. The area is very welcoming and peaceful. Tables are spaced so you can sit and enjoy, have private conversations and not be on top of one another and other tables which I appreciate. The plants were beautiful outside in the beds. The service was fantastic- he was very helpful and happy and good attitude. The chicken salad sandwich was wonderful as was the tuna and the bread was outstanding. I forgot how they do the chips and salsa- love. Excellent salsa. We got some pastries to go as well. Such an Austin gem in this place. Glad to see they are rebuilding but this set up was charming and inviting- can't wait to see the new building but will enjoy this for the time being.

Loved the food and service. The french toast is definitely a must try. From what I believe it, it has sloght notes of cinnamon which goes well with the soft warm toast and the sweet syrup. The coffee was bold and flavourful. Would have given 5 stars if the price was a little lower. Great ambience and service.
Farhan J — Google review
Within walking distance, this bakery has a peaceful, garden-like seating area that’s clean, well-spaced, and even feels a little romantic. I didn’t get attacked by bugs, so either they treat the area or I got lucky. The coffee was surprisingly good: strong, smooth, and well-made. Unfortunately, sandwiches weren’t available because the chef was out, which was odd given the menu is fairly simple and you’d expect more than one person to know how to make them… I did get a baguette despite it looking like it had wilted in the humidity, and my first bites were unappetizing. But after toasting it at home, it was really good. I nearly finished the whole loaf in one day!

Super delish spot. They have managed to keep things alive while their new location is being built. Great french toast, breakfast sandwiches, tostadas.. coffees, teas, and smiling faces. Bread selections, pastries, cookies... come support this amazing place!

The blueberry scone is absolutely incredible! I have to admit that I wasn't even a fan of scones before trying this one. Trust me, you won't want to miss it! The ham and cheese croissant is also one of the best I’ve ever had. 👏🏼

As a loyal customer of Texas French Bread for over four years, I've always loved their products. But it was their customer service that recently blew me away. After two gift shipments got lost, the TFB team showed incredible empathy. They immediately took the initiative to reship the items with overnight shipping, going completely above and beyond. It's this kind of care that makes them my first choice for gifts for friends and family near and far.
Desiree V — Google review
Stopped by Texas French Bread and loved the vibe. Their artisan breads, fresh pastries, and sandwiches (like the oven-roasted chicken and smoked ham & provolone) were all solid — you can tell they bake with care. Their coffee was surprisingly good, too — a nice pairing with everything. The garden setup (their outdoor seating) is quaint and calm, a relaxing spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The staff were friendly and took time chatting about menu favorites. Even with the fire they had in the past, they’ve bounced back beautifully.

Phoebe's Diner in North Austin offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of delicious options. The menu includes gluten-free choices like the Crab Cake Benny and shrimp and grits, as well as classic favorites such as pancakes and biscuits with tomato gravy. The horchata cold brew, migas with potatoes, BST omelette, and pancakes are all highly recommended. The attentive service from servers like Daniel adds to the overall enjoyable visit.
Fantastic find today when we decided to try Phoebe’s Diner for a late breakfast. The Hatch Chile Migas were incredible—lots of blended flavors and mildly spicy. Hatch hollandaise and cojita cheese, eggs, tomato, cilantro and sautéed onions beautifully blended without corn chips (yea!) Two hatch flavored hush puppies accompanied the dish. We subbed out fresh strawberries and blueberries instead of red potatoes. It’s my new favorite breakfast dish. Service was great and loved the atmosphere. Really cute place!

This place is great. The staff was friendly and attentive, they never let my coffee cup go empty. It was our waitress's first day, but she did an amazing job and was quick to ensure that we got everything we needed. The atmosphere was a fun classic 50's style diner. It was slammed, but we were able to get seating on the covered patio immediately. I had the eggs benedict and my girlfriend had baked eggs, both were phenomenal. We will return.

Came here with family and the food was solid but the service is what set it apart. Our waitress Kristy went above and beyond to make sure we had an awesome brunch! Really appreciated her check ins and suggestions ✨🙌🏽✨ All around, a great choice for breakfast/lunch/brunch and plenty of free parking 🅿️

I ordered the badass bacon and eggs. The eggs were delicious if you add cheese and don’t like a lot of cheese I would say light on the cheese. The bacon is cut thick which was very good! My husband ordered the brisket and egg burrito, it’s a pretty good size burrito with plenty of brisket.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Phoebe’s Diner – Austin, TX A Cozy Gem with Elevated Comfort Food I stopped at Phoebe’s Diner expecting classic country-style biscuits and gravy, but what I found was so much more. The food was elevated, almost gourmet — like southern comfort had been reimagined with a chef’s touch. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The bacon alone deserves its own shout-out — thick-cut, perfectly cooked, and so large I only needed one slice. Every bite was full of flavor and cooked with care. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, enough to leave me satisfied for the rest of my drive home. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had that “local favorite” feel — casual yet refined. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt like a wonderful surprise tucked into a relaxed Austin setting. If you’re in Austin and want comfort food that feels special — the kind that feeds both your appetite and your soul — Phoebe’s Diner is absolutely worth the stop.

Phoebe’s is a fantastic brunch place with lots of great options Make sure you get their horchata! We had a variety of dishes - fried green tomatoes (starter), chile relleno, pancakes, migas and french toast I wish the migas came with tortillas but the masa cake balls were an interesting option The other dishes were all excellent And the atmosphere is very friendly and lively Feels like a neighborhood breakfast place
Harshal C — Google review
I wish I could say my husband and I had a better breakfast experience at Phoebe’s Diner. As for the diner atmosphere, the vibe was super cute and homey. As for the food, I ordered the Benedict with fried chicken instead of ham and my husband ordered the brisket burrito and the sourdough french toast. Now the sourdough french toast was AMAZING— light/fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. But the Benedict dish I had was overall too salty (chicken and sauce) and the biscuits were way too dry. The burrito that my husband ate made him question if he was biting into small bones from the brisket meat but after thorough investigation, it turns out it was just overly crisped hash brown pieces that were in there (yes, they were really that hard). For context, we were one of the first customers that came in for breakfast as soon as they opened at 7am on a Tuesday so maybe the cook was a little sleepy? Not sure but still wasn’t an excuse to have paid about $55 for two meals we felt were inedible at the end and this is a lot to say for two people who are probably some of the least picky eaters you’ll meet.

If you're in the mood for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Day Maker Half Day Cafe. Nestled conveniently next to other eateries, this charming spot is hard to miss with its inviting exterior and bustling atmosphere. Upon stepping inside, you'll find it filled with patrons enjoying their meals, which speaks volumes about its popularity. During my visit for brunch on a Sunday morning, I encountered the typical wait that comes with great breakfast spots in Austin. However, the anticipation was well worth it!
I had the BEST experience at Day Maker Half Cafe thanks to Andrea! From the moment I walked in, she was so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely kind. You can tell she really loves what she does—and it shows in the way she treats customers. Andrea made the whole visit feel personal and enjoyable. Her attention to detail and great energy truly made my day. On top of that, the food was spectacular—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything was just perfect. If you're stopping by Day Maker Half Cafe, do yourself a favor and hope Andrea is working—she’s amazing!!

Tried out Day Maker Half Day Cafe with our UT Austin student & his girlfriend today. Drea was our server & she went above & beyond to make menu suggestions & check in on us. Ethan, the Manager, was also amazing! He heard we had come for the maple bacon fritters & they were out when we ordered. He came to our table to apologize & said the chef had made a fresh batch and was bringing some for us on the house! The food was incredible!!! You must also try the bread pudding French Toast as it did not disappoint. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will all be back!!

This place is off the charts amazing! 5 Stars does not describe all the good friendly vibes happening in a very bright colorful environment. I had the Smash burger! I got the Hangover Enchilada, still delicious even without the hangover. William H Eddy got his usual bacon 🥓 and eggs 🥚 with the best bacon ever. Potatoe wedges were cooked perfectly crispy. Cinnamon Roll to go, cuz who can say no to that. #texasfood #texasbreakfast #travellife

Long wait on a Sunday but it was worth it! The host was very nice even though it was extremely busy. Got a chance to talk to the general manager and he was very nice. Our server was great and we enjoyed the experience. Food did not seem overly expensive and was unique and tasty. Lots of options from classic to more creative items. We really enjoyed the banana pudding and steak bowl.

Great spot on the water for coffee and delicious pastries. Outstanding selection of pastries and beautiful atmosphere on the lake. There’s an open mic for guitarists and a keyboard but get there early! Five stars.

I recently visited a lovely café by the lake, and it was such a delightful experience. They offer some fun lake activities, and I noticed a restaurant nearby that had a long line. It seemed daunting at first, but I found that the wait wasn't as long as I expected. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and it was heartwarming to see the Christmas lights already adorning the café—a little touch that really brightened the atmosphere. Finding parking was a bit of an adventure, but I managed to locate some good options, including a few free spots, which was a relief. The food at the café was quite enjoyable. Although the coffee was a bit on the bitter side, I actually appreciate that distinct flavor when paired with something sweet. I indulged in a lemon tart that was truly scrumptious. As I sat there, I felt so at ease, especially with the live music filling the air. The singer had an incredible voice and chose beautiful songs that really resonated with me, making the whole experience even more special. It was a wonderful morning filled with coffee, laughter, and good vibes, and I genuinely had a fantastic time.

We ordered a draft latte along with the pistachio and chocolate chip cannolis. The atmosphere is very nice. I was enjoying the outdoor area but the birds were being very loud and aggressive. One bird came and took an entire bagel from a woman when she turned to speak to her companion. The wait for a table was zero but the line just to get in the door was long. Waited about 4 minutes in line. Service was fast and reliable.

Great place, gets busy quick Mozart’s Coffee Roasters is a true Austin gem, offering a perfect blend of scenic views, great coffee, and cozy vibes. Nestled on the shores of Lake Austin, this spot provides a peaceful escape from the city, with a spacious lakeside deck that’s ideal for studying, catching up with friends, or enjoying a solo coffee break. The menu features a wide range of coffee drinks, house-roasted beans, pastries, and even light meals. Their cold brew and cappuccinos are especially popular, and the pastries—particularly the almond croissant—are always fresh. During the holidays, their famous light show transforms the place into a magical destination. The Wi-Fi is strong, seating is plentiful, and the ambiance—complete with live piano music on some nights—makes it more than just a coffee shop. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Mozart’s is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the charm and flavor of Austin.

Jo's Coffee – South Congress is a popular spot known for its specialty beverages and snacks in a friendly atmosphere. While the downtown location may lack the iconic 'Love You So Much' wall art, it offers an extensive menu of coffee drinks, including the indulgent Iced Turbo. The spacious dining room provides a comfortable setting to relax or work, while a convenient walk-up window caters to those on-the-go.
We stopped here after we landed in town while waiting on our hotel to be ready for us. Did not disappoint. I got the black cold brew and the wife got the turbo drink. Hers was a better bet. And the breakfast taco was good, sauce was best! You could put that green sauce on almost anything and I’d tough it out.

We came here to visit since it’s listed as one of the highlights of the downtown area. We weren’t disappointed, but definitely underwhelmed! The coffee is good, but it is severely overpriced and the building/surrounding outdoor spots are really gross and messy. Public bathrooms are available but they are more gross than a gas station. Would recommend another coffee shop if you come to visit, only thing worth seeing is the famous “I love you so much” wall.

We went here for breakfast, small but eclectic menu. I had an egg white burrito with peppers onion and I think Kale, my wife had a sourdough fried egg and bacon and cheese sandwich. The coffee and service was great. Very cool vibes.

The barista (whose name I didn't catch, he was bald and had tattoos on his arm) was extremely short with me and provided some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My friend, whom I came with, got her coffee a little while before me, and told me when she sat down, "The barista was really short with me... that was weird." When I went up there myself to order, I asked for a flapjack cold brew, but asked him if it was sweet, and he told me, "I can make it less sweet." So I said, "Okay, great, can you add a good amount of milk to it too?" he didn't even acknowledge me and rang it up. The coffee came out a terrible, awful color, and I took a sip, and it was the sweetest, most syrupy coffee I have ever tasted. It was so, so terrible. There was practically no milk added, and it was almost the exact opposite of what I requested. People have different tastes, so I thought maybe this was just a misunderstanding, I'll see if he can make me something else. I told him I really didn't like the coffee and asked if he could make me something else, and he was so short with me. I tried handing him my old coffee, and in the rudest tone, he said, "I don't want that... throw it away". I requested just a regular latte with honey, but he didn't acknowledge the honey when I said it. Keep in mind, it is not busy, and I was one of the only people ordering at this time. He placed a coffee out to the window, and I thought it was mine and reached for it, and he goes "that ain't yours, buddy", in a super condescending tone. Then my latte came out, and again, it was not what I asked for. He didn't add any honey, and overall was just not great. I even tipped him, too. Extremely underwhelming service and product, I cannot say I will be coming back here again, nor will I be recommending anyone who visits to come here either.
Chase K — Google review
Okay coffee shop. Slow line. Great staff and cool area. I came here for about 3 years every Sunday morning, but the two steppers started taking over by aggressively moving all the tables so they could spin around. I'd avoid on the weekends.
Michael R — Google review
Worst customer service I’ve had in austin, the girl taking my order was very upset clearly that I interrupted her chatting session by walking up to order during business hours. She was very rude and short with me. I ordered the pumpkin pie latte and it was ready quicker than you can even make espresso, I thought surely this isn’t mine someone must’ve ordered the same thing as me before me. Nope, it was mine. I don’t know if this place puts espresso in their lattes typically but I received pumpkin flavored milk. Will never be returning

Dan's Hamburgers is a classic counter-serve spot that not only offers delicious burgers and sandwiches but also a variety of breakfast options. The burgers are described as heavenly, with the bun, ketchup, mustard, pickles, tomato, lettuce, and ground beef creating a delightful symphony of flavors. Customers appreciate the great service and attention to detail at Dan's. The drive-through may take a bit longer than at chain restaurants, but the quality of the food and service makes it worth it.
This is my new breakfast spot for when my family comes into town to visit me! I’m so glad I found out that not only do they sell the most delicious burgers and curly fries in Austin, but that they also become a breakfast diner in the mornings. I brought my family here while they were in town and they too absolutely loved it! It’s a “seat yourself” vibe as you enter. The server quickly greeted us and took our drink order. We checked out the menu and were pleasantly surprised at all of their options. I ended up ordering a #3 which is three eggs and bacon and you get two sides with it. I ordered some hashbrowns and biscuits. The key to the biscuits is you have to order them toasted so they split it in half and grill it with some butter. They come out so perfectly crispy! My family member also ordered their pancake breakfast which the pancakes are so huge they could not finish it on their own. I helped them with a couple bites and the pancakes are so perfectly cooked and delicious! The best part is that the prices are very affordable and fair for the meal portions. It does not feel overpriced and you walk out feeling very fulfilled. I highly recommend Dans for all your breakfast and burger needs!

Cool little burger joint. A little bit outdated but maybe thats the concept. I ordered a double burger and fries. Everything is priced separately from meat, to cheese, even the fries. Burgers are small in size. Food was ok. Not bad but not the best either. Place was relatively clean. Parking is limited on both sides of the building. Overall experience was ok.

If you're looking for a good ol' fashioned burger that's a pleasant dine in experience, this place is definitely worth a try. The burger was great and I really like the old fashioned theme. I'm afraid places like this one day won't exist, but with the quality and price of the meal, I don't think they really have much to worry about. The place is known, so there is a rush at meal times, so be aware. It's worth the time even if you have to wait a few minutes to order. Enjoy!

First time trying Dans and I will say the food and service was great. BUT! As a chef it blew me away that no one in the kitchen wears a hair net or hat. Even the employees preparing the food. It surprises me that they haven't gotten hair in the food. Its common kitchen practice to cover your hair as it can randomly fall into food and contaminants it.

This bar opened on the day we stayed at the Fairmont. Apparently the theme changes according to their tastes several times a year. Yesterday it was a tiki bar. Today it’s an Austin soccer theme. The place is well appointed and decorated. There is plenty of seating inside and out with great views of downtown Austin. The staff were all friendly; service was fabulous! Extensive drink menu but expensive- it is a hotel bar of course! The bar is on the same floor as the pool which you can see from the bar. We had cocktails, then went to dinner somewhere else and came back for apres dinner drinks.. We love this bar; we will definitely be back! Apparently the Christmas theme is great.

I’ve been to this bar before, before they revamped it with all the Christmas decorations. It looks amazing the way they have it now, there are lights everywhere present boxes on the ceiling, and there’s music, which is in tune with a light show on the wall, pretty cool. We ordered three of the Christmas themed cocktail specials, they were all very delicious. They are very cute, very Instagramable, nice spot to come with friends or a cute date night. They have happy hour every day from 5 to 6 PM, just an hour where they have drinks 50% off. Highly recommend.

I just wanted to leave a quick review regarding our experience this past weekend at Rules and Regs! We typically host team nights one day out of the week. We found this place on google and wanted to check it out for ourselves. So glad that we did! Our server Jairus was so awesome! The service was amazing, he was quick with the drinks and food and I just loved the energy he brought to our table. He was knowledgeable with the menu and helped us pick out some amazing cocktails. Our team will definitely be back in hopes to have Jairus as our server again.

Great vIew, thorough staff, cute decor. While I won’t be rushing back, I can’t say that much was off. Just the bill, and no music on the patio. Otherwise, decor was super cute & we enjoyed the free prize machine & photo props. The only item that was considered safe for GF were the chicken wings. Our party had ordered a variety of dishes and in the end, we all agreed that the only thing worth getting for price and quantity were these delicious spicy honey glazed wings. All the specialty cocktails pre batched and most are made with grain spirits & syrups. I had to beg for them to make something fun with Tequila. It was a process. Bartender did a good job matching the tiki vibe with a special tequila concoction tho.

Hostess was pleasant and when I arrived for a drink with no reservation seated me on the patio with a lovely view. However it was a little cold as no heat lamps so moved inside. Inside has such lovely festive decor as a holiday pop up bar and great Christmas music. It really was a festive, fun atmosphere. Service was a little slow but my waitress Ava was lovely and friendly. Really enjoyed a happy hour holiday cocktail here and it really got me in the Christmas mood. Lovely place to go alone or with others for a festive drink, I would love to return and would definitely reccomend.

Rules & Regs inside the Fairmont on the 7th floor by the pool has a great patio and view of downtown Austin. Went for drinks and snacks and enjoyed them all. The snack was salmon ceviche which was really good. I got it with tortilla chips which were much better than the chicharrones. Ceviche had great flavor and although it was pricey, I made a good choice. I also had to get the Mexican chocolate pavlova which is similar to a crunchy meringue. For my drink, I got the rebellious gecko which was very refresher. Server wasn’t too attentive but he was new. Very relaxing vibe here. I highly recommend it.

Ciclo, which means "cycle" in Spanish, is a modern Texas kitchen located at the Four Seasons Hotel. The restaurant offers a fusion of American and Latin flavors with locally inspired ingredients. It features a collaboration between Chef de Cuisine James Flowers and renowned chef Richard Sandoval. The menu changes seasonally, offering ceviches, crudos, grilled meats, and craft cocktails. Guests can dine indoors or on the oak tree-covered patio overlooking Lady Bird Lake.
I’m usually not the biggest fan of hotel restaurants. They capitalize on their convenience factor by providing average food and then gouge you on the price. Ciclo, located on the ground floor of the Four Seasons along the riverbank, is the complete antithesis of that. The food, service, and atmosphere (especially at sunset on the patio) were all excellent. For example, the house-made salad dressing had a unique flavor that gave us a wow moment. Think about that. Something as benign as salad dressing made a great impression. The amuse-bouche was deceptively delicious. It looked like a sunny-side up egg but delivered a sweet, mango flavor. How creative is that!? The servers were engaged and took care of us extremely well. We’ll definitely come back even if we don’t have the convenience of staying at the hotel.

Thank you for welcoming us, and for the amazing food! My dog was right at home on the patio with some cookies and a water bowl that they kindly provided. They have a dog and cat menu with plenty of options as well. For the humans, the sweet corn empanadas and braised short ribs did not disappoint. The bon bons were the perfect end to the meal, complete with a dry ice presentation! The service and experience were outstanding. The staff there were attentive and genuine, which makes for an unforgettable experience.

We came for dinner on a Saturday night. Ciclo is located at the bottom floor of the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Austin. It was a lovely evening with delicious food and a calm ambiance. Here was our experience: Parking and accessibility: there are a few parking spots at the hotel; however you can find street parking and parking lots near the restaurant. Menu and seating: I think the only feedback was where we were sitting there wasn’t enough lighting so my partner had a hard time reading the menu (we were by the windows). Perhaps stronger lights or at least a better lighting candle? Anyway, nothing a cell phone flashlight couldn’t solve! Location: the restaurant is down the stairs from the hotel and backs into greenery and the river with a view during the day and at sunset. Food: the food was delightful overall. The burrata salad was out of this world! And the grilled bread that came with the salad was amazing; not too hard and not too chewy. The Parker rolls, oh wow! I loved it! For entrees, my partner thought the filet mignon could have been better, but otherwise was good. I ordered the fish and seafood and it was amazing! I think their specialty here is fish and seafood because it was so delicious! Service: the server was so wonderful! She was patient and pleasant! Overall a beautiful night! Would come here again!

Located under the Four Seasons in Austin, TX. Ciclo delivers a great atmosphere and service for guests, unfortunately, the food fell short of our expectations at the given price point. Presentation was spot-on, flavours were non-existent.

Was staying along the river at another hotel but decided to try a nice restaurant one of the nights. Service was fantastic and food was delicious. We basically had the place to ourselves and a view outside on to the patio. The food was amazing and portions were a good size. Would definitely recommend if looking for fancy/fine dining.

We went in August for my fiancé's birthday. It was a beautiful evening, so we decided to sit outside. We ordered a bottle of wine while they prepared the meal. Shortly after the wine came out, a few bees started to fly around us, so the staff brought us a table fan to help keep them away. The bees were relentless in swarming me though, as they must have liked my new floral perfume. I freaked out when they started flying close to my face, so I involuntarily threw my arms up to protect my face and ended up spilling an almost full glass of very nice wine all over the patio. We felt terrible, but the staff didn't miss a beat. They immediately came out to offer us a table inside, safe from the bees, cleaned up the mess I had made and offered us some bubbly to make up for the spilled glass of wine. The food was excellent, the drinks were excellent, the service was excellent. The experience is a funny memory for us now. We will be returning. Thank you to a great staff!

Visited Ciclo on a weekday for lunch with my husband. One thing I liked about this place was that there are more vegetarian options here than most restaurants. We ordered the tomato basil soup, enchiladas verde, and a side of fries. Ideally, we expected the starter to come first, and once we were done , the entree would come etc. But our server served everything all at once! The cocktails, the starter, the entree and the sides, everything was on the table! This was so weird. (We also had a small table so everything was super cramped) Coming to the dishes, I liked the tomato basil soup, it was a perfect blend of tangy, and creamy... By the time I got to enchiladas, they were lukewarm so it was weird to eat them. Fries were tasty. The staff was very polite other than that. They were very gracious when we asked them to take a picture of the two of us.

Bagel shop
Breakfast restaurant
Located on the south side of Austin, Wholy Bagel serves up handmade NY-style bagels, pastries and coffee. The staff are always friendly and the bagels are always delicious - especially the sandwiches! If you're a fan of bagels then you'll definitely love this spot!
I had a great experience at this café that specializes in breakfast, bagels, and sandwiches. The location is convenient, and the outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying a meal. Even though there was quite a line, the staff worked efficiently, and we were served surprisingly fast. We opted for the bagels and loved the concept of building our own. There was a wide variety of options to choose from, and the result was absolutely delicious. The bagels themselves were fresh and flavorful, and the ingredients were of high quality. We were really happy with our meal. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. Great service, delicious food, and a nice atmosphere – definitely worth a visit!

Not sure why this place only has a 4.4 rating — it deserves higher. There was a line out the door when I arrived, but they still had me in and out in just 4 minutes. The staff were working hard and keeping everything moving smoothly. Big thanks to the team — may your business continue to grow and thrive!

This is a small shop, so if you're going expect limited seating. Especially if you catch them during a rush. With that out of the way, the food is fantastic. One of the best breakfast/ brunch bagels you'll find in Austin. We had the Philly and a custom bagel with pastrami and corned beef, Muenster cheese, avocado and jalapeños. Both with their signature Angry Texas cream cheese. Excellent. I'm writing this review from the countertop seating as I debate which cream cheese I'm going to take to go.

Best bagels in town! The spreads are so delicious. They make incredible sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. I've been going here for breakfast since it opened in 2010 because it is so amazing!

I love this place. Always come to get my fix for the closest possible NYC lox bagel and cream cheese. They have a wide selection of bagels and spreads. Be sure to ask them to toast your bagel if you want it that way! And can order it with extra cream cheese as well. But they do give you a generous portion. The Salt bagel is also amazing.
Hope L — Google review
This is my first time ordering from their catering menu and it was simple, easy, and quick. The quality of their bagels is unmatched - ample amount of options to choose from and very fresh. I ordered the Texas dozen and if you place an order over the phone they'll let you select the mix of bagels. I also have to give them a shoutout on their coffee - the medium Columbian roast is delicious; I typically take my coffee black, so I can taste the bold flavors. Overall a great experience, will definitely return for personal and professional events.

The absolute BEST bagels you'll find anywhere in Austin! High quality ingredients and high quality service. The Hill country Pecan Roast coffee is to DIE for. I love it here so much! Affordable, and incredibly delicious. Not much seating; a wall bar, two tables and two outside, most people seem to get it as takeout or mobile orders, but me and my partner enjoy sitting inside, it's all New York inside and reminds me of a little slice of home.

Korean restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in a bright and rustic-chic setting, Oseyo is redefining the brunch experience with its delightful fusion of homestyle Korean cuisine and craft cocktails. The talented chef duo, Mike Diaz and James Beard nominee Laura Sawicki, have crafted a menu that creatively marries American flavors with traditional Korean elements. While brunch isn't typically part of Korean culinary tradition, Oseyo's offerings are anything but ordinary.
Finally leaving a review after visiting a few times in the last few months! While service can be a little slow, especially on the patio - the drinks, food and atmosphere definitely make up for any shortcomings! That’s why we keep coming back! We usually get something from each section of the menu and with big portions, usually have leftovers. It’s a bit elevated Korean food and flavors are spot on, just not too spice to start with. They will bring space or modify if you ask, but food is perfectly balanced. Cocktails are clean and lots of non sugary options. If you can, try to sit outside, it’s a lovely little oasis to watch sunset. Doesn’t feel like you are right on Cesar Chavez! But inside is lovely and you can usually get bar seating without a reservation. (Tock for reservations)
Evelina L — Google review
I went to Oseyo for happy hour with some friends. And it was okay. I was hoping for upscale food with Korean flavors (which I would have understood the prices), but it was "standard" Korean food with higher price tag. We ordered the Tteokboki (spicy rice cakes), "tong dak", fried mandu, steamed mandu, and the banchan flight. A big challenge I had was around portions. In my experience growing up with Korean food there is a big presence on communal meal and sharing the portions offered were for solo dining. Tteokboki is like a staple of Korea, it hits all the right flavors if done well. The one at Oseyo was bland and the spice was muted. Also to charge $15 for that portion size. I was confused when the Tong Dak came out. Not pictured. So tong Dak that I grew up with is a whole chicken fried (no batter like fried chicken). What I got was 4 pieces -5 pieces of chicken with a thick crunch batter and a standard korean spicy sauce (which is yangnyum chicken). The batter to chicken ratio was off but it was fine. The challenge I had was around the naming convention because this was not tong Dak. The mandoo was pretty solid the only major critique in the steamed version they had a sea of soy sauce on the bottom and personally for me I like to dip and not coat in soy sauce. The final thing the flight of banchan was not good. Things were over pickled and just sour to the point. Also banchan is a freebie at any Korean restaurant ive visited so this was not the vibe to charge $14. Prices listed are the menu price not the happy hour price. The staff were super helpful and really kind. Parking is quite limited.

The food was decent not the most authentic tasting Korean food. BUT the atmosphere was amazing. If you’re looking for a date place or chill place to hangout this is the spot. The outdoor seating has ping pong tables and lights - super nice. Indoor is decorated so nicely. Service is great too.

The food was delicious! Though we did dine at the end of the night and they had run out of some options. But that just means that it’s delicious and I should try again! Recommend the pork belly. However, I’m not the biggest fan of their house soju…

Super cute restaurant, cozy and unpretentious but upscale enough to make for a nice date night. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap for dinner and a scoop of black sesame ice cream for dessert. Both were flavorful and delicious and very filling. I have celiac disease and they were knowledgable about which options I should avoid for cross contamination concerns, plus there were loads of gluten free options. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, as was every other staff member I interacted with. The people who work there seem to enjoy working together which created a sense of warmth and community, making an already great experience even better. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town next!
Bec W — Google review
I tried the hot pot ramyun and makgeolli and I'm not sure I was really tasting a lot of Korean authenticity. The makgeolli too was very sharp and not smooth, thicker than usual, and missing any kind of sweetness or good sourness, just super tangy without the sweet creaminess expected. On the bright side, the ramyun flavours were decent, pork belly was abundant and super tender, and the portion was so huge that I basically had another meal from it after taking half of it to go. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Ambiance was light and bright with welcoming natural earthy coloured items and influences. They have secured wifi for guest - just ask the waitress for password, handy for us overseas travellers especially when service gets shoddy in some areas. Overall it's probably more western influenced Korean fusion but definitely above average experience. Price guide ( as of October 2025): Ramyun $24 Makgeolli (one bowl) $14 Tax $3.30 Card surcharge $0.93 Total $42.25 (before tip)

Wow. Did not expect this level. Great great food. The service was also excellent. We started with a martini and mezcal cocktail. WOW, we loved the freshness to start our meal. Then we skipped the starters bc it looked ok and got a chicken sizzler rice wrap. And the kimchi bokkeumbap- the best thing ever. Huge portions too. We ended up being tempted with the homemade oolong tea tiramisu, completely worth it. Safe to say - great vibes, great experience and a must try. Very surprised about the mixed reviewed.🤠🤠

Two Hands is a cafe and bar inspired by Australia, located in Austin's South Congress area. The New York-based eatery offers a casual space with a relaxed beachside lifestyle feel. Their menu features all-day breakfast and brunch options such as acai bowls, toasts, salads, sandwiches, pulled lamb carnitas torta, and avocado toast with pickled prickly pear cactus.
Came here for lunch with a coworker and I was glad we made reservations in advance as it was quite busy. Lunchtime on Friday is a popular time in this area. I ordered the salmon quinoa bowl per the waiters recommendation and loved it. My colleague got the burger and also enjoyed his meal. Lots of nice healthy options which I appreciated. The location is also great for walking around and doing a little shopping. I will definitely be back.

Such a cute and popular brunch spot! It’s not very big, so there was a bit of a wait — about 45 minutes for bar seating after asking for first available. Totally worth it though! The breakfast burrito was packed with flavor and came with an amazing side of sauce. They also have a coffee/espresso bar, and the barista recommended an iced latte with brown sugar syrup and cinnamon — so good! I’d definitely come back, even if there’s a wait, but honestly, I’d stop by just for the coffee!

Cool place with a nice patio and beautiful interior. I really enjoyed the Brekky Muffuletta with a scrambled egg. My friends got the Henry’s chicken sandwich and the steak/eggs and we were not so impressed. The berry smoothie I had was also really good. Pretty long wait at 2pm on a Sunday but we had a group of 10 so that’s fair. My one complaint: They really seem to nickel and dime you for everything here. Two little pieces of halloumi cheese for $7? They charged me a dollar to sub a sunny egg for scrambled eggs on the sandwich (was good though).
Boone W — Google review
Good vibe about this place, food was tasty. My daughter and I got breakfast burritos- I added chorizo which was home made and delicious. My wife got the seasonal scramble- eggs and pesto were good but the toast was tough and hard to cut, which is one reason I’m giving it 4 instead of 5. The other is parking. Onsite was 22.00 an hour, and since it’s ACL parking was no where else to be found. It’s always hard to find a parking spot on South Congress, but I’ll go back sometime after ACL.

Service was a little slow but the salmon bowl was delicious. I wish more places would let you know the matcha is pre sweetened though. I’ve yet to find a good matcha in Austin. However, the salmon bowl is super perfect especially after an intense workout.

Over my two day trip to Austin I ate at 5 places in total... and this joint wins the podium by a landslide! Everything on the menu is uniquely prepared and authentically DELICIOUS. I've always been very curious about Australian cuisine and so I was ecstatic to try this spot! I'm soooo glad I was recommended it by a local. Not only is the food beautifully plated, but the quality of the ingredients they source shines through as brightly. I told my server I would be there everyyyy single weekend if I lived in ATX. I recommend the whipped scrambled eggs, hashbrown (best I've ever had in my life. Period), the chili crisp fries and a sweeter entree like banana bread or lemon poppyseed waffle. 🫶🏼 the only thing I'm sad about is that I have to drive 5 hours to the nearest one in Nashville 😭

I absolutely adore stopping by Two Hands whether for takeout or to sit and enjoy. Their bakery is excellent and the cookies are wonderful! They also have a pretty terrace outside, perfect if you want to take your time and relax. What I really appreciate is their options for vegans, including alternative milks, which makes it easy for everyone to find something they like. A lovely spot all around!

Had a wonderful experience from the beginning. I arrived ~15 minutes before my friend. The hostess sat me right away without any concern about my friend having yet to arrive. Once seated, my server (I’m upset I can’t remember his name) was kind, patient, and helpful. I asked him a lot of questions about the menu and he was happy to help me, coming back to check in as we tried what was ordered. Anthony, the manager, was present and came in to check on us as well. All around, it was a great experience and we felt very taken care of. I’ll be back. Thank you!

Kerbey Lane Cafe - University is a local favorite in Austin, with a rich history dating back to its opening in 1980. Founded by Patricia Atkinson and David Ayer, the cafe has expanded to multiple locations across the city. Known for its commitment to locally sourced, healthy food at reasonable prices, Kerbey Lane offers an extensive menu that includes their famous Cowboy Queso and gourmet pancake mixes available for purchase.
Had a great, delicious time here! We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were amazing—I’ve always wanted to try them. I had the breakfast tacos (scrambled tofu, vegan chorizo and cheese), and they were really, really nice. Good portion for the price, super tasty. It came with a sauce (didn’t try the sauce - not really a sauce person) My friend had the avocado toast, and she really liked it. Portion was just right for her too. We also had a lemonade (a bit too sweet for us) and two coffees, and they gave us refills (We’re not used to refills, so we always enjoy that in the U.S.) The place was big, the crowd was friendly, the person who served us was great. Definitely recommend!

Can't go wrong with a Kirby Lane breakfast for the family! they always have fun pancakes this time my husband got the pancake stack and the top one was peach cobbler. The one in the middle is blueberry and then buttermilk at the bottom. They are huge and yummy. The last time we ate there my daughter had a strawberry lemonade, pancake, and she thought it was the greatest thing on earth. we also ate the Florence, which is fresh, avocado, and tomato and bacon on a English muffin with queso!!!!!! So good! I tried the pomegranate, pineapple mimosas and a bloody Mary and it was all yummy. Great service.

Kerbey Lane is for those individuals that like experiments from the kitchen. I would describe it as a great restaurant with super healthy choices. Great service from the moment we walked out the door. As the DD, my friend needed a little extra care to get food into her. Our server, I'm so sorry I didn't get your name, was very attentive and helped ensure my friend was feeding quickly and before anyone else. Thank you so much for your attention to detail. Food was pretty good and I wasn't disappointed. It was ideal for the slightly Inebriated friend who needed food fast. The icing on the cake, my friend left her phone in the booth and they kept it safe for two days until she could get back down south. Thank you so much. 🙌🏻

I've been to this location once before and both times the atmosphere and food were good. But this time, my server, Tara, was very attentive, made sure that my order was correct, and checked in often to make sure things were okay. Furthermore she was very patient when I was looking over the menu as I was deciding between the Cuban Benedict and the Mac and Cheese Trio. I ended up going with the Mac this time, and I was informed that the portion size would be large, which, of course, I didn't believe until it came out. Surely, Tara was right, and it was a good sized portion. I also got the Cinnamon swirl latte with oat milk and no whipped cream, which really hit. All in all, I'm glad I came today, and the service was excellent! Made my day!

Hank's Austin is a vibrant coffee shop and cafe known for its spacious patio and convenient drive-through service. The restaurant offers a diverse menu of casual American cuisine, including options for kids. The expansive front patio provides ample space for families with strollers or little ones who want to play while waiting for their food. The interior boasts an open and inviting atmosphere with bench seating, warm woods, light colors, and abundant plant life that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces.
We’ve been coming to Hank’s for a few years now—it’s easily one of our favorite happy hour spots in town. The ambiance is always spot-on, with stylish design and a laid-back vibe. We especially love grabbing a seat at the bar. On our most recent visit, Miriam took care of us and was fantastic—super attentive, easy to talk to, and made the whole experience even better. We enjoyed the white wine on tap, the frozen Paloma, and the Aperol spritz—all refreshing and well-made. The burger hit the spot, but if you’re looking for standouts, we highly recommend the pesto rice bowl with grilled chicken and the spicy shrimp. Both are packed with flavor and perfect happy hour bites. If you’re looking for a chill, unpretentious happy hour with great service, food, and drinks—Hank’s is the place.

Hank's has a great atmosphere and excellent staff. The drinks are well made and they have a decent selection of well priced beers, including local IPAs. Most of the staff are college aged. They're respectful and attentive. There's plenty of parking, indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The food is okay, but certainly the low point. It's all too expensive, even during happy hour. There's really nothing special on the menu and it feels like you're being gouged. This is honestly a better quiet bar spot than restaurant.

I've been here a few times and have loved the food every time but on this occasion the lamb meatballs were a bit too dry and overcooked in my opinion. Food had great flavor, but the portion sizes were borderline disrespectful. Got a #1 quarter dark meat Achiote and Citrus Chicken. Awesome flavor, was cooked well. However, the side portions of the rice and beans came in the tiniest of cups. The input cost of those two sides is probably the cheapest on their menu, yet they are hilariously stingy in how small the portions are. Is this place run by Scrooge McDuck? And if I wanna go half chicken, I’m paying over $20 for a meal. Inflation is rampant, but not THAT rampant. $15-$16 would still be expensive, but plenty more reasonable for that offering. Will not eat here again. Here’s a side by side comparison of the side containers next to a can of tuna.

I'm giving 2 stars because the breakfast tacos they sold me weren't freshly made. The flavor was pretty good, but the portion was not too good. Pretty small tacos for the price, pineapple agua fresca was really good but I asked for a large and felt like it was a medium drink.

The chicken bowl is amazing! The chicken was delicious (moist) as were the Brussels sprouts. Unfortunately, sitting outside and eating in awful Texas heat was not the high point. I highly recommend making an indoor area to sit and eat, even if only 10 tables. There is no shade, just concrete and heat outside. But even like that, I will return because the food is so good!!

I waited at the drive through for too long, paid $21 and got three tiny weenie child size tacos.... That $7 for a bite size taco. Not cute.

Most amazing cauliflower and brussel sprouts I’ve ever eaten. The El Rey Taco was outstanding as well. This is my new go-to spot.

Electric Shuffle Austin offers a lively and engaging experience for groups, with its Brunch Social featuring prosecco, DJ music, shuffleboard competitions, and delectable food options like Bacon Jam Breakfast Pizza and Brunch Boards. The venue's interactive shuffleboard games keep everyone entertained and social for hours. Guests can enjoy a variety of delicious dishes such as breakfast quesadillas and chicken and biscuit sliders while sipping on refreshing drinks like espresso martinis or spiked lavender lemonade.
We went for a work event. The food was delicious, and the mocktails were great. The atmostphere was so much fun! They had digital shuffle boards. Our work group had a ball! It worked like bowling, where you pic your own name, and take a fun picture. The shuffle board communicated with the display screen on what number you landed on! They ahd Margarita pizza, beef tip kebabs, cheesecake bites. Definitely worth checking out!

Brunch social is the best deal around! Rian, our server, made our experience even better! Have been twice already and we will be back for more. The food is actually very delicious. Candy bacon, avocado toast, and the honey biscuits…🤤 I could go on about how good the food is.
Linz W — Google review
I’m not a huge shuffle board fan, but this place was a nice twist in n the classic bar game. The boards are computer controlled, and they have semi private rooms for the boards. The bar was pretty busy, with some kids also in the mix. Beers were reasonably priced

Stopped by while visiting my daughter that lives in Austin and I had a blast. The staff was extremely kind and courteous from the hostess to the wait staff. We were lucky to have met Leanna; she was fantastic!! We appreciate her warm attitude and attention towards us. The prices are fair especially during happy hour. We enjoyed cocktails and a pizza. We had so much fun that we went two days in a row. Highly recommend.
Antonio V — Google review
Everything from our arrival until we left was fantastic! The entire staff (in particular our server Nemo) went above & beyond to make our Birthday Brunch celebration and first time experience memorable! We are looking forward to returning again & have shared the recommendation for a fun filled afternoon with family & friends!

This place was a fun new bar to experience. Me and my group had a fantastic time and a lot of this was to do with our server Jadyn. She was SPECTACULAR, and went out of her way to make sure our time was well spent. 10/10 will go again as long as we get Jadyn!
Jane V — Google review
We had an awesome time here for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party. The food and drinks were great and the servers were nice. They definitely made it feel like a celebration and felt special. Plus the shuffle board was fun and I appreciated that it keeps track of the score for you! We will definitely be back.

Bagel shop
Breakfast restaurant
Rosen's Bagels is a popular spot in north Austin, known for its thick and chewy bagels that have been a staple at many coffee shops around the city. With their new brick-and-mortar location, customers can now enjoy a wider variety of bagel flavors, artisanal schmears, and house-cured lox. The restaurant also offers delivery options for fresh-baked and frozen bagels, along with schmears and smoked lox.
The bagels: so incredibly delicious! I got the Egg Everything Bagel with the Lemon Roasted Poblano schmear and it was yummy and very filling (good for my breakfast/lunch). Very much wish there was a Rosen’s located closer to the north Austin suburbs so I could enjoy these more often. Seating: lots of picnic benches right in front of the bagel shop. Location & Parking: this is located in the Republic Square park, so parking may be difficult (street parking/paid lots near the block).
Malavika K — Google review
Great combos and friendly staff, but the bagels are just ok. They were too dry and dense. Not bad, and helped by the generous additions, but was hoping for a better bagel as a base. Republic Square is generally a pain for parking, but is particularly bad right now with construction closing the south side streets. Unhoused resources using the park for services also makes you want to grab go, rather than hang out.
Zeke I — Google review
Bagels are super soft, very dense, and very filling. Definitely a more indulgent option than your typical bagel, but it’s great to have that option available when I’m in the mood for a massive bagel. I had a jalapeno cheddar bagel (lots of melted cheesed baked onto the bagel!! Yum!!) with scallion cream cheese. I think one of their breakfast sandwiches would put me to sleep forever (in a good way). Also I enjoy the outdoor seating. Need to know: this is a food truck so be prepared for weather. Also, it’s located in downtown so no guaranteed parking but it’s nice if you’re in the area.
Dizzy C — Google review
Rosen's Bagel is a wonderful spot to get some brunch and share a yummy bagel sandwich with some friends. My friend and I were visiting Austin coming from a National convention and wanted to try out a bagel shop that was local. The service was great and they greeted us with a smile as there was a moderate line to get the food (assuming it's pretty popular). I paid for both of our bagels and it came out to $30 ($15 a bagel) which was pretty pricey in my opinion, but I could somewhat see why as the flavors were super yummy. I got the Rose N'shine and added Turkey as they made avocado my protein. The location isn't the best if you're planning to eat there as it was extremely hot and the picnic tables were burning. Water is free luckily and we found some shade!
Kore L — Google review
Rosen’s Bagel Co. is a true gem. The lavender latte was hands down the best I’ve had in the city—perfectly balanced and incredibly smooth. The bagels were fresh, chewy, and full of flavor, with that perfect crisp on the outside. Everything about this place feels intentional and high quality. A fantastic spot for a laid-back, delicious breakfast or brunch. I’ll definitely be back!
Michella M — Google review
Tasty, fresh bagels with a great consistency and flavor profile. The poppy seed bagel is heavy on the poppy! Nice shaded area with picnic tables to sit down as well.
Joshua K — Google review
Staff told me they don’t open until 8am on weekends, which is not true according to their website or any hours listed online)it says 7am). Ordered online at about 7:45 and showed up about 7:55 and they told me my order wouldn’t be ready until 8:15 am. No one was in line before me and it seemed they had intentionally not begun my order because they weren’t fully open. When I informed the staff that the hours said otherwise they didn’t seem to care much, they just thought I was trying to banter with them.
Benjamin G — Google review
Great food. Gluten free bagel Great service. Great location. Homeless zombies everywhere in this city make you not want to enjoy the bagel in the park. I counted 6 in this one park. A few passed through. Coffee was good!

Cafe
Civil Goat, located on Manor Road in Austin, is a popular spot known for its delicious avocado and crunchy garlic salad. The simple yet satisfying dish features arugula, cherry tomatoes, lemon shallot vinaigrette, soft-boiled egg, quinoa, and avocado. The cafe also boasts a four-legged mascot named Buttersa pygmy goat that can be spotted at the original Cuernavaca location.
This location is super cute. The staff are all very sweet and seem to get along so well it feels like you’re at a friend’s house that happens to also be a coffee shop. Iced oat milk latte was fantastic and the croissant was halved and toasted to perfection. Might be my new favorite way to eat a croissant. My only suggestion to the management would be to add something to dampen noise. Sounds bounce off the walls and concrete floor like crazy to the point where I can hear every word of a normal volume conversation from the bar at a back table.
Molly B — Google review
The drinks were quick and okay. For a cafe, 50 minutes for a takeout order with 2 items is crazy. It didn’t seem that busy but a heads up would’ve been nice. The goats are cute. The atmosphere and environment is really spot on, perfect place to work remotely. It’s a shame our experience wasn’t great.
Isaiah S — Google review
Great coffee and a cool vibe. Subpar food.. actually not enjoyable. May have been an off day so will give it one more shot since it’s close by.
Ashoka A — Google review
This is our neighborhood coffee shop, and we’ve been coming here for the great staff, good music, and dog park a few times a week for at least 3 years. The staff provides amazing service, and knows a lot of customers by name. Did I mention good music 🖤
Addie O — Google review
Great pit stop on the Amazing Austin Family tour! Parking lot behind the building allows for easy building access.
Jerry R — Google review
The steamed milk espresso drinks are expertly crafted, the base espresso is good, and the toasts are epicurean delights. Plus, they have a lawn space with volleyball and mini soccer balls that’s a lot of fun to kick around. One easy-fix issue is that they had the AC blasting when it was 50 degrees F outside; made it quite cold.
Kendall W — Google review
Civil Goat is DELICIOUS! Their variety and quality of coffee is above expectation and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. This coffee shop is located in a safe part of town. The service was quick and helpful as well. I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family. I would come back.

Civil Goat was great! No goats were spotted at this location but the drinks were great! I wasn’t able to get food as I already ate but the selection looked fantastic and the prices were very good. There is parking behind the building and on the street - no charge in this area. I’ll be back!

Kerbey Lane Cafe - Central is a popular spot with a cozy cottage feel and a bit of history as it's the original location set up by the owner. The place can get quite busy, so be prepared for a wait, but once inside, you'll find an inviting atmosphere and attentive service. The menu offers a variety of dishes from comfort foods to innovative items, catering to different dietary preferences. The Chipotle beer batter Fish and Chips are highly recommended for their crispy texture and flavorful kick.
At first i was a little off put by the host bc he didn’t really talk to us and didn’t seem very welcoming maybe he was just having a bad day? it’s ok but our server Noah was great! He recommended the chilaquiles and they did not disappoint. Super friendly, patient, and made the whole experience a lot more fun. Solid pick, solid service. And the whole vibe of the place was nice and homey too (:

Omgosh, so much to say... all amazing. The Cuban and Texas meals were incredible!!! Our server (Keira), I think, was sweet, friendly, and helpful. She offered suggestions, and she was right on! Our local friend recommended the restaurant so we had to visit. This is the original location and is very charming Everything about the experience was top-notch!

I was grateful to my non-vegan friend for suggesting we get brunch here during my quick trip to Austin. Although there are not a TON of vegan options, what I ordered was very good. I got Vegan Breakfast Tacos with tofu scramble, potatoes, and veggie chorizo. These were honestly not my favorite vegan breakfast; the flavor was decent but they were a little dry (I wish they would've added some lettuce/tomato as a topping in addition to the salsa on the side). However, the Credo's Cashew Queso was OUT OF THIS WORLD. It has been a long time since I have had queso and this stuff was SO GOOD. It was super creamy with a little kick. My non-vegan friends even commented that it was even better than the regular queso.

I took my dog out for his birthday last night and Kirby Lane didnt disappoint!!!! Our server was so sweet and brought out a patty for him and the staff made him a whip cream/bacon/dog treat dessert, we truly were just expecting a normal little dinner, but they made it so much more fun, and a night to always remember. Forever will be the best location, with the best staff!!! Thank yall for being awesome and kind!!!

Eclectic, nostalgic and pretty good brunch! The location is amazing, it feels like what you think of when they say keep Austin weird. Parking is tight, we found a spot on the street but it could have been worse. Lemondrop mimosas are good at all of the locations. I had the biscuits and gravy this time, I didn’t overly enjoy it (tasteless gravy, dense biscuits). We also had a greek dish with some amazing warm pita bread and hummus. Service was good, we had someone who seemed newer but they did a good job helping us. Patio was nice for an early brunch, wasn’t too hot yet in June. We did join the waitlist ahead of time so we had almost no wait when we got there.

Charming house turned into restaurant on Kerbey Lane reminds me of the old Austin. Comfort food and locally famous queso are great. Plan visits away from busiest hours or restaurant feels too crowded.

Always love a trip to Kerbey Lane! Sometimes the volume of the larger dining room can be a bit too much but it does not take away from the fantastic food. Recommend getting your pancakes swirled up 🥞
Grace M — Google review
I love eating at Kerbey Lane during my visits to Austin. My favorite dish is the Migas with the queso sauce and a side of pancakes. This pairing satisfies my need for something salty and sweet for breakfast. I feel that you won't be disappointed with whichever dish you choose. I strongly recommend this restaurant for solo dining or group gatherings.

Restaurant
Kerbey Lane Cafe - South is one of the five locations in Austin that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner 24 hours a day. It's a popular spot for Austinites to catch up over weekend brunch, enjoy post-concert Queso, or grab bottomless cups of coffee. The cafe sources ingredients from local vendors and supports local artists and charities. Customers appreciate the friendly atmosphere and accommodating service. The menu features fresh, homemade dishes like blueberry pancakes and Eggs Francisco.
We went here for our 2 1/2 year anniversary and the food was amazing! It's so useful to have a nice restaurant open 24/7 as well, as my partner had worked beforehand and almost everywhere else was closed. Our server was super friendly and we ate so much my partner went into a food coma on the couch when we got home lol. One of my favorite restaurants but my first time at this location and I might actually prefer it now. 4/5 for the atmosphere just because some people were really loud, but it was late on a Saturday so nothing out of the expected really

I absolutely loved eating here for lunch! Ask for Andy, he was super friendly and very attentive. We ordered the cinnamon swirl latte, truffle fries, green chile chicken mac and cheese, and harvest chicken. Everything was delicious and served in a timely manner. If I'm ever back in Austin, I will be stopping back by to try something different. Next on my list is the salmon. They have two different dishes that both sound good.
Dani B — Google review
Andrew was great! He made solid recommendations and was attentive without being intrusive. He even spruced up our dessert when he heard my wife was celebrating a promotion. Love this Kerbey. I’ll be back
Wesley B — Google review
I think this is one of the best restaurants I've been to. Food is super delicious. That explains why it's packed with people around noon, even on a weekday. They have more seatings indoor and a couple of tables outside.

Unexpectedly excellent brunch. Off the beaten path in Austin. Definitely put your name on the online wait list ahead of time. Food was delicious, photo is of the fried chicken benedict which was dreamy. And our server was lovely.

The food is always so good! We eat at Kerby Lane a few times a month. The pancakes are a definite recommendation. Meatloaf, Buffalo chicken sandwich, Burgers... really theres not anything I've tried that's not a hit. We had a great time tonight. I tried the Crabby Patties; so good. Our server, Lync was delightful and very friendly 10/10. She answered questions about the menu and she was very friendly, too.

I had the Mediterranean Chicken and they served me raw chicken. Since it was on a skewer, I ate some before I realized something was wrong. Cut your chicken before eating here to make sure it’s cooked. I am absolutely floored by the lack of response from the restaurant. The waitress was so apologetic and said she would get the manager. She then came back and said the manager sends her apologies and we’re going to comp your meal (that I didn’t eat lol). I paid for my son’s meal & left. The fact that the manager couldn’t take the time to speak to me about something that can make me seriously ill is crazy. Looking at the DSHS website they didn’t follow protocol at all. I went ahead & reported them but I would never eat here again & I would be very careful about eating here.
Erin M — Google review
45 years of Kerbey Lane - despite its age, this chain continues to please with its frequently revamped menu and seasonal offerings, great service and wonderful atmosphere. The menu still has some of its iconic dishes, but its peppered throughout with more modern and trendy bites, offering something for everyone - even vegan and gluten-free items. Today was Cody's first day on the job as our waiter but he owned it. Great banter, insightful recommendations and calmly attentive to our needs. He has an innate ability to connect with people that you can't teach anyone, like most of the best servers we have seen at Kerbey over the years. Thanks for a great meal!
