Dai Due is a renowned farm-to-table restaurant and butcher shop in Austin, Texas. Since its establishment in 2006, it has been a focal point of the community, offering locally sourced ingredients and an ever-changing menu. The rustic space provides a charming setting for enjoying their diverse offerings, which include an array of charcuterie, sandwiches, farm-fresh sides, and unique desserts that change daily.
We came here to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We truly appreciated the team's excellent service. Food: The restaurant follows a farm-to-table concept, making everything fresh and high-quality. We ordered several items, but my favorite dish was the Lion’s Maine mushroom appetizer. - Green Salad: This was a light start to the meal. It had a stronger salt and citrus flavor, but I enjoyed it. - Lion’s Maine: This dish had a more pronounced acidity, but it balanced nicely with the green onions and grilled sourdough bread. - Dry-aged Longhorn Cheeseburger: It was good, but nothing exceptional. - Beef Fat Fries: These house-cut fries came with beet ketchup and chili mayo - Colossal Pork Chop: This was seared well and lightly seasoned, allowing the quality to shine through. While it was nice, it was on the fattier side. Service: Our server, Ana, was attentive and friendly, and we loved her energy. Ambiance: The decor was barn-house themed, creating a casual and welcoming yet semi-formal atmosphere. Overall, I loved the restaurant's concept, and the team was great. While I wasn’t blown away by the food, it was more on the comforting side. I’m looking forward to returning next time to try other items on the menu.

Amazing food; especially love the grilled pork chops. Menu changes constantly: Have been back multiple times already. Great dining environment. Very limited parking. Be prepared to park in the residential areas across the street during peak dining hours. Be prepared to make reservation 1-2 weeks in advance if you have a large party.

I have been hearing about this restaurant through various sources like the Meateater podcast, Jesse’s books, etc. I finally got a chance to eat here and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend was skeptical as she is not a game meat eater but the burger she had was “the best burger of her life”. My dinner was equally good and both starters we got were incredible. Next time I’m in town I plan on making another visit.
John W — Google review
Stopped by for their brunch, which is available 3 days a week. Biscuit with butter and jam, carnitas flautas and the longhorn cheeseburger were our choices for the afternoon. The biscuit with jam was tasty, with no complaints. The flautas were surprisingly girthy with plenty of meat inside. Something you don't see to often with this particular Tex-Mex dish. I'm never been a huge fan of flautas generally, so this did not blow my socks off, but overall a reccomend if interested. Lastly, we split the longhorn cheeseburger. Very juicy and messy, but tasty. The burger was not trying to do too much, but had it's own personality and was made with care. With all Due respect, why aren't you on your way to Dai Due? 4.5/5

Food was good but the price : food wasn’t worth it (but we come from Houston where food is cheaper and we get more). The service was good - frequent refills, check ups, and care but also slow. We didn’t make a reservation but were seated within 10 minutes. We made our order and waited almost 15 minutes to get our appetizer and then another 15-30 minutes for the main meal. The three of us ordered to share the boar confit, cheese burger, sourdough, and potatoes caroline. Our favorite was the boar confit but altogether the flavors were good but not great

Great food. I had the seasonal dish: Grilled Wild Boar Filipino Longanisa Sausage with garlic rice, grilled eggplant salad, chives and an egg. It was excellent. They no longer sell sliced sausage or charcuterie out the front butcher cabinet, but there is still some frozen fresh ground sausages, bone broth, and their cookie dough in the freezer up front to purchase along with Jesse Griffiths books, some coffee beans, Dai Due apparel, etc.
Keith L — Google review
We showed up at 1pm on a Saturday thinking we may need a reservation but they seated us right away. Had the wild boar sandwich and the antelope sausage burger with beef talow fries. Was delicious! The service was also good and we were able to take biscuits to go. The only thing was the sandwich had a bit too much of mayo. I'd order it on the side next time. Would definitely come again!
Kevin M — Google review
There is no praise that this restaurant doesn't deserve. Ethically hunted game meat and in-season local produce ensures that your meal is high quality and guilt-free. We had the longhorn burger and wild boar chops (menu changes based on season) and it was everything and more than we expected. Fries are fried in beef tallow. Visit as often as you can!

Sushi takeaway
Uchi Austin is a stylish and sophisticated Japanese restaurant located in South Lamar, known for its celebrity visitors and fine dining experience. Executive chef Tyson Cole's extensive training under sushi masters in Tokyo, New York, and Austin has resulted in a culinary mainstay that offers high-quality fish flown in daily from Tokyo's Tsukiji fish market. While the prices may be on the higher side, the exceptional creativity and quality of the menu make it worth every penny.
From the moment we stepped into Uchi Austin, my husband and I knew we were in for something special, and it exceeded every expectation. Thank you for the recommendation #Grok4—this was a dining experience we’ll be raving about back in Tampa Bay! Emma and the entire Uchi team were nothing short of exceptional. Their warmth, knowledge, and genuine passion for the food created an atmosphere that felt both welcoming and elevated. Emma took the time to listen to our flavor preferences and curated a wonderful omakase experience that was perfectly tailored to our tastes. The pacing of the meal was impeccable, each course arriving just as we were ready to savor the next, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the artistry of every dish. Every bite was a yum😋 , showcasing Uchi’s signature balance of fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Standouts included the **Otoro Nigiri**, a silky, melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece that was pure decadence. The **Masu Crudo** (ocean trout) was a highlight with its buttery texture. The **Lobster in Coconut Green Curry** was an intriguingly balanced dish, with the creamy coconut and vibrant curry complementing the tender lobster perfectly. The **Namahotate** (dayboat scallop) nigiri, was clean & buttery sweet with a hint of sea salt. And last but not least, the Pork Belly in delicate chili broth, accented with fragrant basil and cilantro, was a savory, herby delight that left us smiling. The attention to detail, from the stunning presentation to the seamless service, made this evening truly memorable. Uchi Austin is more than a restaurant—it’s a celebration of culinary creativity and hospitality. Thank you, Emma and team, for an extraordinary experience that will have us dreaming of on our next visit from the #tampabay! #uchiaustin #ThirdHome #bridgetbrelandrealtor #austinfoodies

This was a very cute restaurant overall with great food. The food was so fresh and the fish were so tender. The only thing that we weren’t a fan of was that every nigiri piece you order comes with some type of topping which some were wonderfully paired while others missed the mark. Every type of salmon they had was hands down the best salmon we’ve ever had. Drinks were great as well. We were sat in the aisle in a high top area which was fine- although it was extremely dark so impossible to read anything. Overall, a great restaurant with great food and good prices for what you get!

This food was great, our favorites were the cold plates full of amazing textures and flavors. Desert is not to be skipped here so leave some room. I love trying new places when I come to Austin and this is not too be missed and also the sister restaurant up the road which fusses bbq and Asian is unreal I visit there last year.

I've eaten here many times. I've been to many different sushi restaurants. This place and the quality of flavors are amazing. Everything is really great. This is where you go to in Austin for Great sushi. It's so close to downtown, so I wish they had a better view of the city. The food is the star here.
Joseph H — Google review
Uchi was a fantastic place to visit as a tourist. The food and service was excellent and I would say it was good value for the price point (about $100 a head for a a group of 5, including a round of drinks). I would recommend booking as it does get busy.
Lachy — Google review
This is one of my favorite sushi spots in the country. I took my cousin who just moved here, and she even said it was one of the best sushi spots she’s been to! The food is amazing and the fish is so fresh. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable! If you go, ask for Joe as a server. We usually just ask our server what they like and he listened to our tastes and things we didn’t like and delivered a spot on perfect meal for us. From appetizers to sushi to the incredible desert, Joe nailed it and knew exactly what we would like. Even the other staff who weren’t out waiters cleared table constantly and made recommendations. Justus, was also very helpful and was so on point. GET THE NEW BANANA CHOCOLATE CAKE! It’s to die for! So is the coconut tapioca desert! If you like amazing food, even better service, and an amazing atmosphere, goto UCHI!
Robert B — Google review
Wow what an experience! I recommend getting the omakase, its 10 courses and staff is accomidating! Highlighting a few, but so many textures and flavors going into each bite! If you have never been, please check it out! Staff was amazing, cannot recommend enough!
Richard S — Google review
I haven’t been to Uchi in quite some time. The sushi was just as I remembered. Truly can’t get any better. We made a mistake this time and ordered the tasting menu (it’s always so tempting because of the price) and it had too many cooked dishes for our liking. And yes, the server tried to warn us so nobody’s fault but our own. We ordered a few more sushi bites to compensate and we were happy with the outcome ☺️Next time, I won’t wait so long to revisit.

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Odd Duck is an upscale restaurant that offers locally sourced New American cuisine and drinks in a modern setting. Originally starting as a food trailer in 2009, it has now become a popular spot on South Lamar for gourmet brunch, lunch, and dinner since opening its brick and mortar location in 2013. The menu changes daily based on seasonal ingredients from local farmers, providing a unique dining experience each time.
If I could give 10 stars I would. We had a 6pm reservation. Liked arriving early, it was very quiet until about 7:15/30 when it really started to fill up. Service was incredible from start to finish. Robert, our server, was the best! He was super knowledgeable, made great suggestions and was very attentive. We had 4 in our party, husband and 2 kids, 19 and 21. We all agreed it was one of our top 3 dinners, ever! Photo of what we ordered in the pics, just duplicate ours, you won’t be disappointed! We LOVED the celery sorbet sundae, sort of had to be talked into it by Robert but he was right!! Really every dish was perfection hard to pick out a favorite, pressed I’d pick cornbread, honeydew salad, and the pasta! Amazing flavors and the right portion size. If we lived here I would want to come back weekly!
Jeannie D — Google review
A standout experience from start to finish. Odd Duck totally lives up to the hype. Every dish felt creative but grounded. Using local ingredients, bold flavors, and the taste of every dish was insane. The small plates are perfect for sharing (or not), and the cocktail list is just as impressive. Our server/bartender, Joe, was so lovely and incredibly knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu. The vibe is warm, lively, and very Austin. Highly recommend if you’re into seasonal food done really, really well. Great veggie options- and Joe took time to explain the dishes. Plus there’s a separate veggie menu which was great.
Aleena A — Google review
Was such a fun and amazing experience! The food was amazing and this place is not just hype. You can tell there are chefs in the kitchen that truly care about taste and flavor. Everything was great but the grilled chicken hearts blew me away!
Josh C — Google review
Great news everyone. Perfect restaurants still exist. There are, in fact, bartenders who still know that the relationship with the customer is more important than how good the drink is (and the drinks are still absolutely perfect). There are dishes that cannot be improved and you will be unwilling to share. Order absolutely everything on the menu. Talk to everyone that works here. Also, Erin, thanks again for just an absolutely flawless experience. Cannot wait to be back.
Blake O — Google review
We had a really nice experience at Odd Duck—the service was excellent, with servers who were personable, attentive, and made us feel welcome. For food, we ordered the cornbread, stuffed quail, and blackened redfish. The cornbread is something I had read a lot of praise about, but personally, I thought it was just okay. It comes in a small skillet, but it’s very heavy for an appetizer. The flavor is buttery with a slight kick of spiciness, and I liked the crunchy crust with honey on top. The onion butter served with it is creative and works well at first, but after a few bites, the richness becomes a little overwhelming. I found myself wishing for smaller, multiple cornbreads to give more crust and help reset the palate. The stuffed quail was the star of the night. It had bold, Mexican-inspired flavors that reminded me of a chorizo breakfast burrito—savory, spiced, and delicious. The quail itself was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. Sitting at the bar, we saw quails hit the grill pretty regularly, so clearly, it’s a popular dish. It definitely lived up to the hype and was the highlight of the meal. The blackened redfish wasn’t what I expected—it leaned more toward Greek flavors than the usual Cajun style. It was still good, especially with the little eggplants that added a fun texture, but it was hard for it to stand out after the quail. We skipped dessert since the menu didn’t look too exciting and we were already pretty full. Overall, Odd Duck delivered great service and some solid dishes, with the quail being the clear winner. The cornbread and redfish had interesting elements, but not everything hit the same high note. I would go back just for the quail. The happy hour deal is really good too.

Food was delicious. We sat at the bar and the team was great in helping us celebrate a birthday. Right away I had to rebook another reservation.

Odd Duck is one of my favorites in Austin. I’ve been several times and have yet to be disappointed. The ambiance is casual yet classy and the food is equally multi-faceted. It’s definitely an Austin must if you’re in to the food scene.
Georgetownjenny — Google review
My family and I would like to give a shout out to Thomas, who literally treated us like family at our visit to Odd Duck last night. We were walk ins and were seated promptly outside by the mister fans which made the environment super comfortable. Thomas gave us all his recs and helped guide the courses. If you go, you must get the cornbread. It’s insanely good. We also devoured the braised goat pizza, antelope tataki tostada, redfish crudo, and thai melon salad. All top notch with incredible flavor. To be honest, my favorite part was hearing each person describe the dish as they delivered it to our table. This place seriously cares about the dining experience and it shows. Thomas’ service was impeccable and he always made sure we had fresh plates and silverware. Thank you Thomas for making sure we had an unforgettable time at Odd Duck! Also, thank you to the most extraordinary valet superstar I’ve met. Audrey took excellent care of our car and had it ready for us in moments! Thanks Audrey! Protip: if you’re driving and want a zero proof beer, get the Best Day Kölsch!

El Alma, a Mexican restaurant and rooftop bar in Austin, is named after its renowned chef, Alma Alcocer-Thomas. The multi-tiered establishment offers inventive Mexican cuisine and cocktails in a chic setting adorned with local art. Its main attraction is the rooftop patio, which provides stunning views of downtown Austin from Barton Springs Road.
I’d heard so much about El Alma, and I finally made it—wish I had gone sooner! 🌮 Ordered the 2-taco lunch plate with duck and salmon tacos—both were incredible! 🍹 Great drinks and a lively atmosphere, even during a busy lunch rush. 🍰 Save room for dessert! You won’t regret it. A fantastic Austin spot—highly recommend!

Delicious and innovative flavors, fun atmosphere, and great service! My friends and I found this place for dinner while visiting Austin. We lucked out last minute because a reservation canceled, so we got seating on the rooftop - that was a fun experience. We ordered the queso blanco y rojo (great!), the ceviche (great!), the ahi tuna ceviche tostada (I was so happy with this - lots of flavor!!), the sweet potato relleno (yum!), and the enchiladas (great!). We really enjoyed this meal - I love flavor combos, and they delivered! The ambiance inside and out is fun. I highly recommend, and I’ll be back for the sho tuna ceviche tostadas!!!

We go here every year for my Wife's birthday and we love it. Great food and drinks. The quesos are amazing, the margs and cocktails are great too. El Alma is a great blend of high quality Mexican food and drinks with an accessible atmosphere for even the most casual of diners.
Dakota D — Google review
Recommend… they have a great happy hour! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the table my party was sat at was dirty when we were seated and it wasn’t busy at all so it was just a little gross but after it was cleaned off the rest of the experience was great!
Lexie N — Google review
Amazing food and experience! We had zero wait at lunchtime on a Saturday. I got the shrimp enchiladas with the tomato chipotle sauce and they were amazing. Their chips are also some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience. Fun atmosphere. Friendly and efficient service. And the menu was outstanding! We started out with guac and queso which were both great. For tacos I ordered the al pastor and chicken tinga and they were delicious. And I can’t forget the cocktails— my favorite was the como la flor!
Anastasia — Google review
El Alma absolutely delivered! My wife and I stopped in after a long day on the road—not super hungry, but wanted something light. We ordered the ceviche clásico and it was incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The margaritas were top notch—easily some of the best we’ve had in Austin. We sat upstairs and, yeah, it was a little warm, but the view and the vibe totally made up for it. Great atmosphere, great service, and an overall fantastic experience. Can’t wait to come back when we’re hungrier!
Stephen B — Google review
Great Mexican food, drinks, and ambiance. A little pricey for what you get, but the experience makes it worthwhile. A beautiful winding rock stairwell takes you up to their rooftop deck where you can watch the birds, listen to the Cicadas, and enjoy the Austin weather near the river, while sipping on a Clásica Margarita or a delicious frozen Mangorita with a Chile rim (I had both, just to be safe). Food and service get docked one star because there was silver skin on the steak, which shouldn't happen at this price, and our appetizer (Ahi Tostadas, which were great), didn't come out until the rest of the food had arrived. Otherwise, it was yummy and the staff were very friendly. We'd definitely go back!

Velvet Taco is a popular spot known for its globally-inspired tacos and rotisserie chicken, along with a selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and craft sodas. Located in the Domain area of Austin, it offers a great vibe and quick service. Customers can expect delicious food with customizable options such as choosing different tortillas for each taco. The exceptional service provided by the staff members adds to the overall experience.
Everything was hand made. The flavors really pop here! The staff was ultra-friendly, professional, and attentive. I had brisket and steak tacos in a combo that came with a side of fried rice, sauce, chips, and drink. Don’t skip the red velvet cake. I normally dislike red velvet cake, this red velvet cake was rich, flavorful, and so satisfying. Prices are very reasonable. It was busy at 5PM and the mildly loud chatter and atmosphere made it obvious that local folks love this place.

Always a bustling lively place. A good place to hang out with friends. The margaritas are good, but strong. The food is very good. Everything on the menu is at least somewhat spicy tho. The next time im there i will be asking if there is a way to get a non spicy version of their food. i expect im in the minority here, but i think the chicken and waffle taco would be just a little better without being spicy. i really enjoy there weekend hours.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enrique was absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked in, his positive energy and welcoming attitude made the whole experience even better. He went above and beyond with his customer service — not just taking my order, but making me feel like a valued guest. His personality shines through, and he truly brings life and energy to the store. Velvet Taco is lucky to have someone like Enrique on their team — he deserves all the props!

Delicious indian-mexican fusion food. I had tikka chicken & mexi shrimp tacos. I love this plqce. Food is great and a fair price point. LG Rocks Rita with an added grand mariner floater was strong and tasty. Best part is the server Javier. He was kind and patient as i explored the menu and answered all my questions. He then followed up with me when he was clearing the outside patio. Very polite and respectful.

Tacos were great as always. We love the chicken tikka tacos, paneer and tofu tacos. They have introduced bowls which is great ! Ambience is nice. Also you have to pick your order yourself.

here is what you need to know before coming to this location I now understand over the years the balance of the good and bad reviews for this location and how they differ and let me explain as I at one point thought I had left a review for this location but I'm now going to use this opportunity to redo a proper review up-to-date First off the restrooms are unlike anything you will ever see that you design is unique and different that they have a sink area through to the back that is all by itself it's own design and what you have is people from the kitchen constantly coming there to wash their hands as well as people coming in and out of the restrooms thus with only one trash can really hear from washing hands then I could tell at any point of time this area could get disgusting then you have like two stalls for on one side and two stalls for the other and they're not really a sign for men or women they're just again restroom stalls you open the door in a random close And keep in mind these location is open ridiculous late hours and long shifts so I could see how this area could end up getting neglected depending on especially if they are getting slammed or the employees are just wasted after a long day also I don't hold it against the manager who have had conversations with in the past and then came to realize oh wait a second there's rotating managers because this location has such ridiculous long hours especially on Thursday to 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday till 4:00 a.m. keep in mind they open between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. each day and although they don't do breakfast they have a large rotating staff quality control is going to just take a hit no matter how you do this to be able to handle the kind of volume this location gets so I commend them on when I arrived to my mom the place was spotless clean they were keeping up with the steady flow of traffic coming in and we were able to get our order fixed and let me explain I got an email promoting the $25 special so I downloaded the app and set it up and put in the order and paid an advance it would be ready for pickup from my mom and I to eat there but when I did substitution for what I thought was just a substitute to Pico corn when I didn't realize it was diet substituted the meat for roasted vegetables so when I handed back the order and showed how I ordered and have any meat on either bowl they helped me understand and go through the app and quickly just made a correction and added meat to both bowls at no additional cost again what I got was that the customer service here and a manager or not necessarily disconnected from customer service they're just exhausted and run long hours long work hours ridiculously long work hours and that would grind on just about any person that especially pending on how they're all just rotating different positions taking orders getting orders cutting corn cutting fresh corn again let me make note that you do fresh cut corn like they will constantly having somebody cutting the corn fresh off the cob that being said your mileage here is always going to vary as they have tacos of various flavors across the board but right now the best bang for the buck is their $25 special after 5:00 p.m. where you can get two balls chips your choice of queso or guacamole and by the way they served us generous portions of guacamole which I appreciated especially with how hard it is these days to find guacamole is not like two or $3 for small portions And of course with this place is famous for velvet cake a slice of velvet cake which was delicious didn't care for a caramel but I will definitely say I became a fan of their velveteen hot sauce now here's the next thing I'm going to want everyone here because they have a rotating staff is constantly exhausted burnt out worked hard rotated and long hours your mileage of regards to being able to ask anybody there at the front what comes in each thing is always going to vary keep in mind people that complain about the spices yeah both of their sauces are spicy so keep that in mind

Awesome spot, a little busy but thats fair for a good location. As we waited in line they deployed a second cashier and another employee who took our order on a device. The menu was clearly displayed on the outside and inside of the business which made it friendly as a first time customer who has no idea what they want. The taps were down which was a bummer understandable but still a bummer for a cold beer, food more than made up for it tho. Full sized tacos each authentically true to their description and pallet. Hot sauce was insanely good, we grabbed the hotter bottle and I wish I knew what it was. The elote side was different than back home but incredible, it comes as a dip with chips and was delicious. We got almost everything and had no disappointment. Fried chicken tacos covered in sauce were a little mushy but that's kinda par for the course. Brisket taco was the best but seriously didnt have anything that missed the mark. Would absolutely recommend and I hope I get to come back.

I had a delightful Happy Hour at Velvet Taco. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas provided a relaxing and clean atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and featured many creative flavors. I highly recommend the Kobe Smash Burger Taco – it was an incredible taco-burger experience! The Margaritas were also incredibly refreshing. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Intero Restaurant, located on East Cesar Chavez Street in Austin, is a sustainable farm-to-table Italian eatery with a focus on whole, locally sourced ingredients and traditional Italian cooking methods. The restaurant's name, which means 'whole' in Italian, reflects its commitment to snout-to-tail cooking. The menu features a rotating selection of dishes that highlight seasonal ingredients and includes small plates, handmade pastas, Texas-sourced meat and fish dishes, and an impressive wine selection.
10/10 experience! Our server was so knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Everything we ordered was absolutely incredible. Intero is quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants in Austin. Can’t recommend enough!

Their focaccia bread is literally out of this world. Their white pasta is super yummy. I would not get the eggplant. The sausage was OK. The service was phenomenal! My waitress was such a cutie and she explained the menu very well with a great energy.

THIS WAS A 10/10 We got the bolognese pasta and the roasted potato and garlic pizza everything was super good the atmosphere was dark whenever we were there at around 9 but our waitress was amazing super friendly and after we ate we felt full but still super light. The pasta was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning and chew, the pizza had almost a thin crust but a thick outer crust was very good. The only thing i would say is that if they ask you if you want your pizza to be brought out when it’s ready or whenever the pasta is ready I would ask for it to be brought out when it’s ready so it can be hot but overall amazing food.

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Austin! The food is absolutely delicious however, this place is not for the vegetarians. We ordered bottle of wine, around 4 starters and entree for each of us. I loved their Bucatini - very flavorful and every bite felt like heaven. The summer melon salad was good. Tue blistered shisitos was okaish. I was surprised that they had honey in the burrata plate and it couldn’t be separated - I was looking forward to ordering it but couldn’t since I am allergic to honey! We ordered all 4 desserts and as expected the brown butter cake with cinnamon ice cream turned out to be the best. Their house made chocolates were good too. Overall it was a good experience however, my suggestion to them would be to accommodate the dietary restrictions too so that you can cater to more customers if that’s what you are looking forward to from business expansion standpoint. I recommend advance reservations!

Good food with decent service, the ingredients freshness could be felt in the dishes. The ambiance was decent but felt a little crowded especially during the peak dinner time. The waiter was kind and energetic, he explained the menu very well. Would definitely recommend for a date night.

My husband and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and overall we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, which really made the evening feel special. We ordered the grilled redfish and the risotto — the redfish stood out as the star of the meal, cooked perfectly and full of flavor, they used Thai basil in the sauce instead of regular basil, and the grilled fish had smoky flavor. The risotto was good, I loved the touch of hazelnut and peach, but not quite at the same level. We ordered each entree individually and the portion is big. If you came here before 9/14 they’re doing restaurant week special but I personally think the individual dishes worth the value more. As a sweet surprise, the staff brought out a birthday cake, which was a lovely touch. We also tried the truffle dessert (amazing truffle!) and panna cotta , both of which were excellent. The only downside was that, since we visited on a Sunday night, we felt a bit rushed once dessert arrived. Shortly after serving it, the staff let us know another party had checked in for our table, which made us feel like we needed to leave before we were ready. That said, the food and presentation were memorable, and I would recommend this restaurant for the food, the service is ok.

Cocktail bar
At Balkan Cafe & Grill, you can indulge in a delightful array of traditional Serbian dishes, including mouthwatering kebabs and succulent roast lamb. The ambiance is casual yet inviting, with a design reminiscent of a European bar and pub. Enjoy outdoor seating that welcomes your furry friends while savoring unique offerings like feta cheese fries or the Caprese panini as starters. For mains, choose from juicy burgers or sandwiches, and don’t miss out on their delectable cakes for dessert.
I was confused at first when I came in as I was expecting an Italian place from all the signs, but the menu and decor said Balkan. Nevertheless we gave it a try. Hands down the best pizza I’ve had in years! The fact that this place isn’t packed at lunchtime means not enough people have tried them. Warm friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, great lunch specials, and a kitchen who knows how to really show their love of cooking. I gave it five stars because they wouldn’t let me give them ten. You need to go check out their new menu! We will now be going back every week.

This place looks very unassuming from the outside but has great food and a super friendly staff. We tried the burek - a flaky pastry with feta and spinach -, a vegetarian pizza and fettuccine alfredo with chicken. All were excellent. The pizza had pesto - which was a flavorful touch. We also had a Turkish coffee and we loved the presentation and the taste. We are really glad we went it and tried it.

I really wanted to love it but I didn’t. First, beef/lamb links (cevapi) were delicious. Probably top three I had in US. But the bread (lepinja), vegetable spread (ajvar) and soft cheese, which was supposed to imitate (kajmak) were mediocre at best. Coupled with the fact that was the most expensive cevapi meal I had on this side of the Atlantic, I must say I’m not impressed. Probably the most expensive in the world. Espresso was terrible. Having a professional espresso machine and coming up with that thing was disappointing. Staff was very nice and attentive.

The large is huge! We got the Supreme. Balanced fresh tasting ingredients, low grease, nice crust. Friendly welcome. They threw in a slice of cake randomly which was a delicious surprise. It was a chocolate cake and could have been more moist. But I ain't complaining too much for a free slice. Maybe they were about to be thrown out? I'm not sure. I didn't ask questions I just graciously accepted and got out before they changed their minds! Overall, great experience. My partner and I loved it. We'll definitely come back.

We had a great time here. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful as she guided us through the menu. We ordered a small pizza, half spinach and mushroom, and half chicken pesto. Both were great, but the ricotta on the spinach and mushroom pulled everything together so well--definitely a new favorite. We also ordered side salads that came with little bread rolls. The bread is chewy and delicious. Solid spot.

Loved this restaurant! Our server Edy was phenomenal!! The atmosphere was great and the food was so delicious. So good, I forgot to take a picture before we ate it! We got a large, and it was more than enough to split between the two of us. The strawberry with champagne flavor was to die for, but my boyfriend loved the fluffy cheesecake. One of the employees - wish we caught her name - brought us water without asking, and it was really sweet. Great service, y'all!

We’ve been here many times. Every time it’s been great. Parking is easy with a parking garage right behind it. The sorbet is light and creamy. There are dairy free and gluten free options. The variety of gelatos pleases a crowd. Seating is limited but there’s a green space across the street where people chill. Great service, thank you!

If you care about cleanliness and hygiene do not come here. We ordered the waffle cones which they make by order (the man working the counter was rude from the beginning) and the guy started to make the waffle cones without washing his hands or wearing gloves. As the waffles baked he was biting his nails and then touched the waffles with his bare hands and spit. When we saw this we let him know that he should use gloves. He responded with attitude and called his coworkers who stared at us disrespectfully. We canceled out order and were met with attitude. This is basic hygiene! No place should be operating this way. Public health violation.

Otoko is a modern Japanese restaurant located within the South Congress Hotel, offering an intimate omakase dining experience. Chef Yoshi Okai curates a unique tasting menu for each guest, blending Tokyo-style sushi and Kyoto-style kaiseki. The 12-seat restaurant requires reservations months in advance but promises an unforgettable culinary journey. Adjacent to Otoko is Watertrade, a Japanese-inspired cocktail bar with an extensive whisky selection, providing the perfect complement to the dining experience at Otoko.
I took my fiance here for his birthday and we both absolutely loved it! They exceeded our expectations! They even personalized our menu to wish my fiance a happy birthday! We’ve been to multiple tasting menus here in Texas and this lands in our top 3. We got to also experience Watermark and the drinks were so well made. The bartenders were very nice about explaining the drink menu. Atmosphere was perfect. The experience was phenomenal and the staff were professional and very sweet. The chefs did such an amazing job and the food presentation was on point. We’d definitely recommend this restaurant and will back for sure!

From the outside, this restaurant is not easy to find, but once you step through the door, it feels like entering a completely different world. The ambiance is intimate, refined, and immediately sets the tone for a special dining experience. We chose the 22-course omakase menu to celebrate our anniversary, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Every course was carefully crafted with precision, balance, and creativity. The flavors flowed seamlessly from one dish to the next, creating a journey rather than just a meal. The service was equally impressive. Our server was professional, highly knowledgeable, and patiently explained each wine pairing alongside the food. Their expertise elevated the experience, allowing us to appreciate the subtle connections between flavors and textures even more. This is not just a dinner—it is a carefully curated experience that combines artistry, hospitality, and culinary mastery. For anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in something extraordinary, this omakase restaurant is truly an exceptional choice.

Unique omakase worth a try just for the creative dishes. Amazing drinks. Beautiful presentation. Really nice ceramics/tableware, if you’re into unique kitchen pieces. Food was on the saltier side. Sea salt was added to practically every dish, and it was a bit overpowering sometimes. The Wildtype salmon was superbly smooth with a milder taste than regular salmon—unlike any salmon I’ve ever had.

Incredible omakase experience worth the splurge. It’s an incredibly thoughtful and well paced experience, from the second you walk through the courtyard you know it’s going to be special. The service was top tier. We did the wine pairing and it ever glass was new and unexpected. I don’t even know how to put into words how incredible the food is. Every bite more exciting than the next. The quality of fish they source is unmatched in Austin. Highly recommend the splurge for your next special occasion!

I absolutely love this place! We've dined with Chef Yoshi three times in the past 5 years and each time is unique and eye opening. This time my wife enjoyed the tea pairing while I had the sake pairing. My wife absolutely loved learning about the teas and it was a great experience for her. The creativity of this team never ceases to amaze me, including on this visit the egg custard with roe. Absolutely divine. Keep up the great work y'all ❤️🍱

We had such a lovely time when we came to Otoko for our anniversary. We felt very welcomed, and were delighted by the food. The tea service was so incredible, I still think about it months later - I highly recommend this option, especially if you're someone who avoids alcohol. There were elements of whimsy during dessert service that made it especially fun and earnest in such a classic Austin way. :) We're so glad we finally came to the restaurant. Our thanks to the whole team; we can't wait to come back.

OTOKO delivers an intimate, masterfully executed omakase experience that stands out among Austin’s finest dining offerings. Tucked away in the South Congress Hotel, this Japanese gem showcases dedication to seasonality and precision. From the delicate opening courses to the perfectly executed sushi and sashimi, each dish arrived as a small work of art. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply appreciate elevated Japanese cuisine, OTOKO is absolutely worth the visit!
John J — Google review
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my dining experience at OTOKO and did not feel that the $250/pp kaiseki omakase was worth the price. Several dishes were overly salty, and overall, the flavors and presentation were not particularly impressive for the cost. The pacing also felt rushed. All savory courses were served within about 70 minutes of seating, which diminished the experience. They also do a timed cyclic seating every half hour, which disturbs the flow of the meal. Additionally, I was surprised to be served lab-grown salmon as I expected the ingredients to be natural and fresh. Its unnaturally bright color and squishy texture were off-putting. We came here for our anniversary and it definitely did not feel like a celebration. Food is also disappointing so I do NOT recommend this place.

Hestia is a unique industrial-style restaurant in downtown Austin, named after the Greek goddess of the hearth. The restaurant features a custom 20-foot hearth where chefs passionately prepare wood-fired dishes that showcase how fire can transform food. The menu includes craveable snacks, small plates, and fiery entrees such as dry-aged Texas wagyu New York strip. Hestia also offers a dessert menu and an extensive 250-bottle wine list to complement the dining experience.
This place is amazing! The blending of smoke and fire is evident, thriving in their menu. Not overdone, subtly mixed in the right proportion to create unique and amazing flavors throughout the dining experience. The wait staff are well trained, working behind the scenes of diners as a well oiled machine, showing up when desired and allowing the meal to take place when not. Well done and highly recommend this place. The appetizers were creative and well executed, the halibut was out of this world and the pork chop was divine.

We celebrated our anniversary with friends last night and had an amazing time. Our service was phenomenal and we appreciated the little touches to make our night extra special. I will dream about the charred corn and the halibut for the rest of my life! Everything was great but these 2 were the absolute standouts!
Kat D — Google review
The food was fantastic, especially the small bites! A touch too salty for my liking, but overall very flavorful. The restaurant is not big, so it’s best to book a reservation in advance. They even prepared a handwritten card signed by all the staff for my husband’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture.

Wow. Just wow. Hestia is where wood fired dreams come to life. Everything is cooked over an open flame, and the Michelin Star is fully deserved. A very elevated experience. You can taste the art in every bite. Wr started with 2 bites, the corn and husk and the crab toast. They were so cute. One bite. We then got the crudo and I loved the smokiness of this dish. The halibut was even better. It came with a pour of this green tasty sauce. Bring me 2 mesquite cakes! That wood fire process is making babies back there. Excellent!
Sara G — Google review
The tasting menu at Hestia was a very good experience. Unlike most other tasting menus, they provide you with a description of what’s in it before you start so that you can choose if it’s right for you. The tasting menu featured some of the more popular dishes on the à la carte menu and had a few extras thrown in as well. This restaurant has an open hearth and so you should expect that it will smell a bit smoky and you might even leave with the smell on your clothes. The food and the service are definitely worth the visit!

Absolutely delicious! Every meal from starting to end was perfection. Staff was friendly and I got to sit in front of kitchen. Everyone worked well and fast. Flavors included ingredients that complemented each other. Visually appealing and unique dishes. Bite dishes are small and fir only 1 person. Everything else is sharable. My personal favorites were the Waygu Tatar (raw section) 10/10 and Halibut ( main section) 10/10. Also tried the Waygu sirloin, scallops, crab tostada. Everything was cooked perfectly and exceeded my expectations. I read previous reviews, and some were mixed. I opted out of the fixed course ($195 per person)the offer because of mixed opinions. I decided to just pick things from the menu that I wanted to try. For 2 people and spent under $400. We finished with dessert Bunuelo and recommended if you like a variety of textures. It's base is a crunchy shell and it has a gooey almond filling, not overwhelming, sweet, and topped with ice cream. Overall, will recommended to anyone visiting Austin and would dine here again.

The chefs tasting menu is phenomenal. This was our 3rd time visiting a Michelin star restaurant and is now our new favorite. Service was just as good as the food. The pace of each dish was perfect as well.

Puts the fine in fine dining! Everything about this place was 10/10. The food was immaculate and service even better. It was fine dining without it feeling stuck up which is one of my favorite things. You can have conversations with the wait staff and service and still felt elevated. Do the Tasting Menu. I repeat, do the Tasting Menu. It is such a fun experience and the wine pairing made it that much more fun! The food was well presented and very full of flavor and freshness. My favorite things were the scallop, halibut, and ribeye! All of it was excellent though. Gabi, Angelyn, and Blake were SO FUN! They checked up on us, brought their personalities, and really made the evening one to remember. They epitomize the definition of service and set the bar high. Taco Shack is a beloved local counter-serve chain that specializes in mouthwatering tacos, including delightful breakfast options and various tortilla choices. As soon as you step inside, the enticing aroma of freshly made tortillas and sizzling meats envelops you, making it impossible to resist. During a recent visit for lunch before the Taco Shack Bowl high school game, I was thrilled to find an extensive menu filled with tempting selections. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as patrons eagerly awaited their orders.
We love the breakfast tacos here! We started going to the original location nearby on Burnet 28 years ago and loved it. We would bring friends and family by for breakfast tacos when they stayed. We eventually moved away and later found this location when we visited Austin and brought our children. This location is much easier to deal with when you have kids or other guests. It’s in a prime location and has plenty of seating indoors and a drive through that is constantly busy on mornings and weekends. Parking has never been a problem for us. The service is always fast and friendly and the wait time is usually pretty short. The breakfast tacos are great and are what keep bringing us back all these years later whenever we’re in town. Their chorizo is amazing and I always get either a chorizo, egg, & cheese or the Shack Taco which is the same but adds potatoes. The migas breakfast taco is excellent too, and don’t forget to grab some of the red and/or green salsas while you’re there. Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with any of the breakfast tacos or burritos.
Jamey M — Google review
First, I get breakfast here almost everyday with the exception of the weekends and they NEVER give me a receipt. It’s always a younger girl with crystals, a grill or something on her teeth or an older gentleman that works the drive through. I went to this location on Tuesday 4/22/25 and order two tacos. One was bacon, potatoes and cheese and the other one was sausage, potatoes and cheese. Once I got to work, I realized they didn’t put the cheese on my tacos. I called back and spoke to Francisco and he stated that he would replace the tacos the following day. I go back on Wednesday 4/23/25 and I told a different person “Yoli” what happened, she told me that she didn’t see a note from Francisco. I had pictures of the food and tried showing her my transaction on my bank account. She said she didn’t want to see it because people lie all of time and was verbally aggressive. I couldn’t believe she was arguing with me. She also stated that Francisco is just a cashier so he shouldn’t have told me that. She said she wouldn’t charge me for the cheese for the tacos and that was it and pretty much said take it or leave it. I would like to say I’m surprised that I was treated this way but unfortunately I am not. To be a customer that used to go here all of time to be treated like this makes me sick to my stomach. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. And its obvious I will never, my family and friends will go to another Taco Shack.
W D — Google review
August 2023: With the Taco Shack Bowl high school game at night my wife and I decided to start the day by having lunch at Taco Shack. It has been a long while since I have been here and she never been here. This place is not close to our home but it was a short drive. The place was busy with a long drive-thru line but did find a parking spot. Inside this old shack was an extensive menu of choices. There was plenty of seating and ordered a Chicken Fajita Taco with a side of Mexican Rice. The staff was very friendly and the place has great atmosphere. It did not take long to get our order. The chicken taco was wrapped in a four tortilla and was delicious . It has nice flavor along with the rice. I see why the line of cars outside never got shorter or stream of people walking in. Austin definitely has the best taco spots and Taco Shack is one of them.

I love this place and have been coming here going on 13 years. It is where I was introduced to chorizo and salsa verde. While my palette has significantly expanded I still come back to this location time and again The service is excellent. The staff have been there forever. The food is always good. I always get the taco breakfast bowl; chorizo, egg, cheese, onion, cilantro, and avocado - ALWAYS worth their salsa verde. Yummmm

I asked what they have without animal products. She listed several options and asked if I would like no cheese/sour cream but more guacamole instead. When I said that would be great, she said, ah, vegan! Only vegans understand how much it means when people know! Loved the service, the helpfulness and the food was delicious! I will be back!

Being from just outside NYC but here in Texas since 1993, this place made me giggle (not out loud!) because the gentleman at the counter (owner?) reminded me of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi"! A little. Not AS bad...but I thought of him. It was funny! The place was nearly empty (a Monday at about 11 a.m.) and I decided I wanted the Burnet Road Breakfast Burrito and a fountain drink, to go (the burrito was FANTASTIC, though pretty pricey, just like everywhere else). So I step up to the counter and he says, "What can I get you, m'am...quickly!" LOL...and I was PRETTY sure that was what I wanted but I was still squinting at the menu when the one person in front of me was done. And this gentleman caught me off guard and I stammered, "Uh, sorry...um, I don't have my glasses with me, uh, okay"...and I placed my order. I tried to crack a little joke and it was not happening. It was all pretty funny/cute. I think their drive-thru was quite busy; it seemed that way when I parked...in his defense! And so then they have all these rules posted about the salsa station being only for people dining in (they give you some to go, though, in your bag) and a BIG sign about how if you have a water cup you'd better REALLY take water (I agree!) because soda is really expensive for them to buy...and I get it! They're just really adamant...I got a chuckle. Good to shame soda stealers! Warn them off. I took my food to go but it seemed a like a cool enough place to sit and eat UNLESS it's crowded. Kind of a small place. Again, my food was very fresh and yummy; could be two small meals unless you are super hungry. That plus a regular soda in excess of $12.00 isn't pretty, but it's par for the course out there. Overall, I'd definitely go back! I would just really mind my manners and know what I want...I agree with the Burnet Road Breakfast Burrito raves.

This is easily the worst taco in Austin. Somehow even the eggs were stale. The atmosphere was that of a Soviet Union era bread line. Many unhappy people waiting indeterminately for their ration of, from what I gathered, a taco that was designed by a faulty AI.

Wienerschnitzel is a fast-food chain known for its variety of hot dogs, chili burgers, and sandwiches. Customers rave about the delicious chili dogs with fresh and steamed buns, juicy and flavorful hot dogs, and generous portions of grated cheese on their chili fries. The prices are reasonable compared to other burger joints. The buns are incredibly soft, while the corndogs have the perfect crunch.
It had been a while since I've had a wienerschnitzel hot dog, but my son had stopped here a couple days ago and then my wife was thinking about it as we were driving by and so we said screw it. Let's do it. About 25 minutes till closed so the place is really clean. I hate bothering employees when I know they're going to have to clean up after me so close to closing so we made it easy. Got four hot dogs. The wife went with a Chicago dog which was loaded with toppings. I chose to get three chili cheese dogs with mustard. Since I was 2 years old, I have been eating wienerschnitzel since I was two. I Will always Love these hot dogs. That being said, they have definitely increased their price a lot. You used to be able to get five chili dogs for $5.99 and now it's $6 for two with cheese. If you enjoy a good hot dog, can't go wrong.

Employees were great. Took my order, all is good. Place was nice and clean. Even the people ordering there were nice. Great service overall. THE FOOD, HOWEVER. What's this? That's the Chili sauce, by the way. But I'm not here to judge, I ate it anyways. It tasted really odd. Later that day, I couldn't leave the restroom. This was actual poison. Order 2 hotdogs, both looked like this. Avoid this place.

My late wife would come and pick me up and take me here for lunch once a week and we always got Chili dogs with cheese and mustard yummy!! Where else can you get this kind of comfort food for lunch? As far as I know only two of these exist in this area! The place has always been run very well and I been coming here for 20+ years!

H-E-B plus! is a supermarket chain that offers groceries, beer, wine, deli items, pharmacy services, and a florist. Customers have praised the Quail Hollow location in Austin for its extensive product selection catering to various dietary needs and ethnic foods. The store is well-maintained and spacious with helpful and friendly staff. While some shoppers found most of what they needed at this H-E-B plus!, others noted specific items were not available.
This HEB is one of the best in Austin, as far as selection goes. It’s full size. Very busy though. If you go anytime around peak hours, there’s a long wait for a cashier. Parking is seemingly always hard to find. Be aware that it’s a rough area where the homeless/addicts congregate nearby. Lock your car.

I don’t use the curbside often but I had to do it today and I got really bad items. These are the worst but almost all of my products as vegetables and fruits were damaged, the person doing this job did not put any attention.

Hello Austin & those who are visiting...it's been a while. So I continue to find HEB is convenient to where I live & is the best store because: they have a lot of stores within a 3 to 5 mile radius. Other than 7th street they are remodeling the store on 41st. Right now it is difficult to get through however....it is going to be so freakin large...ot might be too big. Parking may be a problem when it's done. I have been being stalked & Traumatized by the Management of The Ladybird Apts: & this is the reason I've been MIA. Last time I checked stalking is Still A Crime & it's a federal crime to mess with the mail. However: they continue to do both but; this Is A Large Business & I can't find anyone.... lawyer or the police because: if they are exposed there is not only a lot of money to be lost but; a lot of people are going to be in trouble. It is a Crime to Conspire Against Anyone. Everyone who helps them hurt me in any capacity can also be charged. They refuse to fix my air-conditioner & it is get hotter by the day. It has been over a month The average temperature inside my apt is 84° degrees & the hottest is 87°...I am 61 yrs old, Disabled, & have heart problems..... Ladybird Apt. 1320 Art Dilly Drive Austin TX 78702 It's been over a month that they refuse to fix my air. It's a 55-Up complex. One rape, & 1 unsolved murder. Everyone is afraid to say anything because: they all bare witness to what could happen. I've tried to file a police report but; they are well connected. It's a "hopeless existence." Good & Love To The World.....🫂❤️↔️🌍☮️

The worst HEB I’ve ever been to. Multiple times I’ve bought things that went bad shockingly quick. This ground beef was the final straw. $24 of ground beef that I bought on the 27th that was disgusting and bad by the 29th when I went to cook it. In addition, if you like dodging the HEB employees that are fulfilling online orders that will gladly run you down, this is a fantastic place to shop. If you like the TV show cops, look no further. You have about a 90% chance of seeing some stuff go down anytime you visit this location.

Hands-down, this is presently my new favorite H-E-B. Product selection at this location took everything on my list, off my list. Store is clean, well maintained, thoughtfully laid out, immense in size, as well as catered to all my favorite ethnic and diet restriction foods. Staff were ALL pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, respectful, and kind. I was amazed to see that EVERY check out register, whether self service or full service, was on! This can be a quick shop, however, best of luck with that. There is simply so much to take in with regard to choices. And did I mention pricing? This location HAS to be one of Austin's best kept secrets. UPDATE: This location continues to be my favorite for my groceries, sundries, and personal items.

Enourmous venue for your shopping af daily grossaries, some additional department like beauty, toys, etc but main focus on your daily needs. Vast selection and variety of fresh and preserved foods of all kinds in long hallways that seems fresh and replenished with goods. Clean enough for comfort, checkout (by yourself) is swift and efficient and parking and security outside is ample.

My favorite grocery store. We are staying in Johnson City and this store was the closest to us. I was surprised at the number of items on my list that they didn't carry but it seemed that the store carried items based on the surrounding population. We will probably drive to New Braunfels for our next grocery run. Store was clean and well staffed.

Whataburger is a classic fast-food chain that has been serving up delicious burgers since the 1950s. With its counter-serve style, it offers a variety of burgers, some even stacked with multiple patties. Customers have praised the quality and taste of the food, noting that it surpasses other fast-food joints. The prices are also reasonable, making it a great value for the money.
They’re always busy so if you’re in a rush go to the drive thru but if you have a second to wait they have a great environment. Their workers are great. I go every other night just for some to drink or some snack on. They always make you feel welcome. Dashers always frustrate so I think they can improve on getting online orders out faster but other than that one of the best places for a midnight snack, meal or chill area. ( I don’t go during the day so I can’t tell you if they are the same or not)

Triple Meat Whataburger - 3 large beef patties, 3 slices cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, diced onion, mustard / 5⭐! Whatameal Combo - add medium fries and medium drink / 5⭐! Dr. Pepper Milkshake / 5⭐! When I was planning my first trip to Texas, I knew I wanted to try Whataburger. I live in an area where they do not have any locations and love all kinds of burgers and burger places. I am very happy to report my first visit to Whataburger was a big success. I was so excited to finally be able to try their burgers, so I got a little carried away and ordered a triple. The burger was huge! I am a hearty eater but even I had trouble finishing the entire triple burger. I had no regrets even though I had to rest after finishing it. The burger was full of beefy, good flavor. I had Whataburger twice on my vacation. The second time, I had a double which was a perfect, large meal for me with the fries. The fries were crispy and tasty. I love dipping sauces as well as ketchup. It was neat to see all the various sauces you could order with your meal. My favorites were the jalapeno ranch and spicy ketchup. I had never seen a Dr. Pepper milkshake on a menu before so I treated myself to a small one. It was like having a Dr. Pepper float. I'd order it again. This is the location we went to for our first Whataburger meal. The staff was clearly working hard that day. The place was busy and there were a lot of cars in the drive through window. But the crew was friendly and nice. The location had a lot of parking and lots of seating. Overall, for my first Whataburger experience, it was a good one and I would certainly return if the opportunity came up.

My boyfriend and I came in at 4:03am after work, just trying to get some food and unwind. We ordered a burger combo, a breakfast combo, and a breakfast taquito — nothing crazy. We sat inside and waited… and waited… and waited. There was no one else in the building but us, yet 30 minutes went by and we still had no food. Eventually, one of the workers noticed and asked, “You still don’t have your food?” She went to check and found out that they gave our entire order to a random guy. No name check, no ticket number — just handed it over. My boyfriend asked how that even happens, and no one could give us an answer. We didn’t get our food til 4:47am and there was not one person in the building but us, and there was no tickets on the drive-thru screens. Please look at the photo for reference. This isn’t the first bad experience we’ve had here, especially involving the same big Hispanic lady with glasses who works the drive-thru. There’s clearly no structure when it comes to handling inside orders — they always prioritize the drive-thru and completely ignore dine-in customers. We were tired, hungry, and just wanted a simple meal, and instead we left frustrated and beyond disappointed. This is my official call to never go to whataburger again.

Please educate your staff on the law regarding service animals. Employees have attempted to illegally deny me service and have illegally demanded specific requirements for my service dog (have a vest). The other day a manager accused my dog of not being a service dog because he was jumping. My dog never barks, he is 11 months old, and while trained in some tasks to assist my disability...he is still a puppy and training is ongoing.

Worst service I have ever had in my life. I have never made a bad review on any place until now. They didn’t have my food ready after 30-45 mins after I was the only one in the store left. They said that I never ordered and the manager checked twice. They had me digging in the trash twice to look for my receipt, since the manager said I never ordered and he checked. Then Al the sudden after an hour a different nice lady from the back found my receipt. (So obviously the manager didn’t look) they were about to make my food an hour later but from the way that they treated me I didn’t trust what they would do to my food. Will never go to that branch again. I am sure the manager ate my food and said that I never ordered. I think they thought I was homeless because of the area and that they are better than. Crazy

My girlfriend and I came to this Whataburger after getting off work late — it was around 4:03 AM. We’ve been to this location several times before, and nearly every time, there’s a problem: missing items, long waits, or poor service. There’s one specific staff member — a Hispanic woman who works the drive-thru and wears glasses — who we’ve had multiple bad experiences with. She has ignored us more than once, and this time was no exception. We were sitting at a table waiting for our order, and somehow a random person was able to walk in and take our food. No one checked the name, and no one noticed. By the time they even started remaking our order, it was 4:30 AM — we finally left around 4:40 AM. That’s almost an hour of waiting inside an empty restaurant with zero customers in the drive-thru. Absolutely unacceptable for a place that prides itself on being open 24/7. The staff clearly doesn’t care, and nothing is being done to improve service. Management seriously needs to step in and fix the chaos at this location.
Randy S — Google review
I was in line before breakfast ended, but of course there had to be one idiot holding it up like it was a Q&A session. Then, just as the line was finally about to move, he comes back to ask for something else. I literally watch the menu switch to lunch while I’m standing there, and the cashier goes, “Sorry, no more breakfast, he’s the last one.” So amazing, everyone else in line missed breakfast because some clown couldn’t figure out the menu and the cashier moved at glacial speed. ❤️
Capy — Google review
Severely understaffed and by far one of the worst experiences sticking to raising canes next time not to mention order took almost an hour. How is it possible a mobile order is ready last. Entire restaurant was empty by the time I got my order. The people who arrived after me in large parties also got their orders, sat, finished eating and left and I'm still landing in front of the counter and my order was still not ready. And not a single worker is at the counter because whataburger is no longer a brand I respect, everyone who I brought with me that all ordered separately were also upset.

I was so excited that they had a huge selection of fresh fish so I ordered a bag of crawfish it was 33 pounds. No one around had this much on hand. So I bought the bag to be used the next day for a catering. So I drop them off at my kitchen about 10 minutes away and I place them in the cooler/fridge so I can prep them the next day. So I come into to work to begin the prep and clean them. Most of the crawfish are floating a little more then half the bag. Im so annoyed at this point because I need to get this out the door but now I only have half of what I promised my customers. The rest of the crawfish were sluggish with just a few that were very active so this was definitely a very old bag of crawfish. I am pissed and would definitely not recommend getting anything from there.

Turnstile Coffee Beer Cocktails and Burgers is a laid-back neighborhood spot that transforms from a coffee and pastry haven in the morning to a craft beer and cocktail destination at night. The place offers an amazing selection of beers, cocktails, and whiskies, making it a favorite among locals. The rotating beer menu caters to all tastes, while the burgers and garlic aioli fries are highly recommended.
Cool spot of you just need a burger and a beer. The burger was good, I liked the sauce, real basic just pickles cheese and sauce. The fries were real good too. Lots of beers on tap, I had the Star Base Amber they also have some good cocktails. Indoor and outdoor seating.

I'm very disappointed that I ordered a salad and it is so tiny for $15. ($19 after tax and tip). I have come a couple of times and the burgers were pricy but decent.. felt like something lighter today and ordered the salad for $12. Added checken for another $3. I feel completely ripped off. On top of receiving side salad portion for meal price, the avocado is brown and not fresh.

I first found Turnstile Coffee during the 2022 World Cup. I was looking for a place to sit and watch England play, and luckily this restaurant/bar was showing their games. SCORE! They have a separate building which is a drive through, so if you’re in need of a coffee, quickly….they got you covered. Inside, it’s a typical coffee, food and beer bar, but I like that. It’s small and intimate with a great chilled atmosphere. Try not to go here when Austin FC is playing, because it’s pretty much next-door to the stadium. IT. GETS. CRAZY!! They have a massive selection of drinks, ranging from cocktails to craft beers…I don’t drink, so can’t tell you how good they are 😊 I like the coffee from here, it’s tasty and rich, with a great consistency. When it comes to food, I think this is reason this place is so good. They don’t have a massive menu, but what they do have, is really well made, good ingredients and very flavorful. My favorite item on the menu is the JAMMER jerk-chicken sandwich, which is sweet, smokey and tangy and it goes great with their house cut garlic fries on the side (you pay extra for fries ☹). My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that it’s very pricey for what you get. $18 for a sandwich and fries is steep, then you add a drink on top, and quickly goes north of $20 for lunch. Price aside, it’s a great place to meet friends, drink and eat high-quality bar food. CHECK IT OUT

Great chill spot in what used to be a Sonic. The coffee, food, and service are all great. Skip the over sugared burnt Starbucks crap and come here. Fair warning, if you come in after the morning rush you will likely have to navigate the laptop bros each taking up and entire 6 person table, pacing back and forth being oh so serious and busy. It's more fun to watch than anything else.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the coffee and the cake didn’t meet my expectations. The flavors were bland and the texture of the cake felt dry. The space itself is nice, but overall the experience left me disappointed.
Heysel R — Google review
I visited Turnstile on a Thursday evening and had no trouble finding parking--there was a spot right in front of the outdoor seating area. It looks like Turnstile has two spaces: a small drive-through area for drinks on the left, and the main restaurant on the right. Inside, the lighting was quite dark, which actually made the outdoor seating look more inviting with its cute string lights. After ordering, I received a table number and could choose any open seat. My food arrived in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Turnstile Burger, which comes with caramelized onion jam, Amish Bleu, smoked bacon, arugula, and hops mayo. I swapped out the Amish Bleu for Jack since I'm not a fan of bleu cheese. They didn't ask how I wanted the patty cooked, but it ended up juicy and delicious. The bacon strips were crispy too. The real standout was the caramelized onion jam--it brought all the flavors together beautifully. The bun was soft and fluffy as well. That said, for $16, I expected the burger to come with a side. At a similar price point, I'd rather go to Eureka, which offers better burgers and includes a side with your order.

I’ve been coming to Turnstile Bar and Restaurant every weekend for the last 4 years, and it never turns stale (pun intended 😅). The coffee is always on point, the tacos hit the spot, and the vibe is just right. But the real star is Matt — he’s the best barista around and honestly the main reason we keep coming back. He makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. If you’re looking for great coffee, tasty food, and a spot that feels like home, this is it.

Awesome food, good vibes. Best patty melt in town! Nancy is a rock star behind the bar.

Birdie's is a charming, family-owned restaurant that has quickly gained recognition since its opening in July 2021. With accolades from Texas Monthly and the New York Times, it's clear that this neighborhood gem is making waves in the culinary scene. Run by husband-and-wife team Arjav Ezekiel and Tracy Malechek-Ezekiel, Birdie's offers a carefully curated menu featuring shareable snacks, small plates, entrees, and desserts.
I traveled from North Carolina to Austin just to eat at Birdie’s during their final week before moving to a prix fixe menu—and it was 100% worth it. I’ve been following their journey for over a year, and everything lived up to the hype. I love their counter-service model—it makes the experience feel relaxed and seamless, with no waiting for a check at the end. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do. My wife and I pretty much ordered the whole menu, and every dish was outstanding. Their approach to simple, thoughtful food is something truly special. Can’t wait to come back and see where they take things next

Finally made it to Birdie's to celebrate a recent promotion. We arrived 10 minutes before opening, and there were 6 people in line before us. We were welcomed outside with a carefully selected wine menu that we ordered from before stepping inside. The service was what you would expect from any restaurant restaurant in its class. Unfortunately, for us the food just didn't live up to any of the hype. We added on the special pesto pasta of the night. I'm not sure what happened, but it was like somebody knocked over the container of salt into the pan. I'm not sure I've ever had a dish that salty, let alone from a restaurant of this caliber. This single dish almost ruined the entire meal for us. The highlight of the meal, was actually the salad. We both agreed, we could eat that with every meal. The beef and puree was the next best dish. The puree had a savory and sweet flavor that near pefectly accompanied the flavors of the beef. The beef itself was cooked just to our liking. Even being one of the highlights of the meal, we did not consider this on par with other beef dishes we have enjoyed in Austin. Neither of the desserts, chocolate soft serve and olive oil cake, were ones we would seek out again.

This experience was a bit confusing. Went there with friends on a weekday dinner when I visited Austin and was told that this is a Michelin restaurant. We were nicely greeted by the front desk who introduced the menu to us. With 100+ pp pricing level, I was expecting a fine dining experience. The game rule here is that customers need to stand by the frond desk, make the order, pay everything, get a table sign, go around and find somewhere to sit and place the sign on the table, wait for server to come with drink and food. I did not really agree with the fact that we had to pay tips before receiving any service. The food was marketed as seasonal menu and the ingredients were sourced carefully and locally. They were not bad, but not impressive either. The sauce in salad and pasta were nicely balanced and creative, but the rest of the food were just okay. Again, given the pricing, I would expect more. The wine list was very comprehensive. It would be great if they offer wine pairing to supplement the pre-fixe menu.

I’ve never left a crumb of food on a plate here. The pastas are to die for - I always think I need to order a second round, but I know I have to save room for the rest of the meal and dessert. The team creating the magic that is Birdie’s - and I mean every single person, not just the owners - are superb, friendly and adamant about your experience being one to remember. The wine selection is incredible and just as memorable as the food it is enjoyed with. I never, ever skip dessert, because why would you? My husband and I love sitting at the bar where we can watch the symphony of the kitchen and anticipate the next dish coming our way. We can’t wait to come back soon for their new prix fixe menu!

Since moving to Austin, I dove head first into the restaurant scene in attempts to find my favorite restaurants. I’ve been to many places, but nowhere tops Birdie’s. Their service is above and beyond. The level of care and warmth makes you feel like a guest in their home. And the food! Their pre fixe menus (which rotate about every other month, give or take) are all to die for (or cry happy tears for). The flavor profiles of every dish, even the seemingly simple ones! Incredible! The pictures included are from their last two menus. Absolutely chef’s kiss. Thank you Birdie’s!

Birdies is my favorite restaurant in Austin! The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food is always amazing! Anytime there is a soup on the menu, order it! Trust me it’ll be the best soup of your life. It is a small restaurant but they fit a lot of people with the back patio. I love that it’s counter service because it doesn’t feel like a stuffy vibe or somewhere that you have to make a reservation months in advance. Always try to get in line around 6 so you don’t have to wait as long.
Catherine B — Google review
We’ve dined at Birdie’s plenty of times over the years and it’s been a great experience every time. From the wine selection, to the food, the affogato, and service, everything is top notch too to bottom. My favorite experience is the Aiello’s takeover where they switch up the menu and the vibe to a white table cloth Italian joint. The menu is unreal. If you live in Austin, it’s a must stop once a month, if you don’t live in Austin it’s a can’t miss.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a beautifully executed fixed menu that was as cohesive as it was delicious. Each course built seamlessly on the last — from a delicate amuse-bouche to a rich, satisfying dessert, every plate felt intentional and artfully prepared. The wine pairings elevated the experience even further. Each pour complemented the food without overpowering it. A standout was the Italian Pieve Santa Restituta 2019 served with the main course, offering bright acidity that balanced the richness of the dish beautifully. The sommelier clearly had a thoughtful hand in the curation. Between the flawless pacing, attentive service, and warm atmosphere, this was a memorable evening from start to finish. A truly elevated dining experience worth repeating.

Salvadoran restaurant
Taco restaurant
Taqueria Guerrero Nava is a popular spot for delicious Mexican and Salvadorian cuisine. The food truck offers mouthwatering pupusas, with the queso y lorroco and chicharron y queso being top favorites among customers. The use of high-quality cheese and flavorful masa sets these pupusas apart. The inviting aroma of the food is irresistible, drawing in patrons to savor the authentic flavors.
Incredible food and portion size. I tried chicken, steak and Pastor. I highly recommend the corn tortillas, some of the best around! Enjoy P.S. great spot to call and stop while on the road or gas up and go.

My wife and I were craving Salvadorean pupusas and this little food truck did not disappoint! We enjoyed the queso y lorroco pupusas the most. Nava(the owner) uses very good quality cheese in them and the masa is very tasty. Served with pickled cabbage and a tasty red tomato sauce, as is tradition. Second favorite pupusa was the chicharron y queso. You can't beat the prices and the tempting smells of food will draw you in. Highly recommend 👍👍 UPDATE: still great and delicious. See new photos

So, I keep devouring the delicious quesabirria and carne asada burritos before taking photos?! They are super friendly and kind! The food is obviously wonderful as I need to remember to take photos next time. While there are some park bench type seating, it's best to take home and enjoy. The place is open Monday to Saturday from 6am until around 2:30pm and closed Sundays. I'm extremely grateful having Taqueria Guerrero Nava so close by! My go-to for my Mexican craving as the flavors and price is so worth it.

I work in the parking lot across from this food truck and my coworkers and I get food from there st least 2 times a week. Their food is consistently delicious and they always have good service! I love their pastor tacos, and pupusas! My coworkers often get breakfast tacos and pupusas! I tried the quesabirria today and it was so good! I love these guys
