Restaurant
Magnolia Cafe is a beloved local eatery in Austin, known for its breakfast offerings, Tex-Mex dishes, and vegetarian options. The cafe has a rich history, with its second location on SoCo opening in 1988 and becoming an integral part of Austin's culinary scene. Originally established as the Omelettry West in 1979, it was transformed into the vibrant Magnolia Cafe we know today in 1987.
Magnolia Cafe – A Perfect Austin Kickoff Spot! We started our day at Magnolia Cafe, and it was the perfect move. The landscape hash was hearty and delicious — definitely a meal that keeps you fueled for a day of exploring. We split a pitcher of mimosas, which set a great tone, and the atmosphere was relaxed and classic Austin. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole place just had that cool, laid-back vibe you want in a brunch spot. Whether you’re looking for a big breakfast, a boozy brunch, or just a solid spot to start your day, Magnolia Cafe delivers. Can’t wait to come back!

I've been having the occasional dinner here since the mid-90s, more frequently in the beginning but less so in the last few years as I don't find myself around south Congress very often anymore. Last Sunday, we decided to swing by, in part for old time's sake, and I'm glad we did. Magnolia Cafe is still an Austin original, and, after decades, still true to what made it a local institution. Food was just as I remember it, flavorful and with fresh ingredients, service was great and the place was perfectly clean. We had the stir fry, the black bean entree, and a key lime pie slice; everything was delicious. Since the pandemic, they are not open 24 hours anymore but, otherwise, still there. We'll definitely be coming back a lot more often.

Magnolia Cafe is such a charming local spot!! Friendly and attentive service, nice indoor and outdoor seating, large menu (everything looks so good), and a mimosa bar while waiting to be seated (quick wait times). Loved our queso omelette and croissant-wich! We got lucky and were able to park at the restaurant but more parking is available close by. LOVED this restaurant experience!
Sammi M — Google review
This place is seriously super cute! Service was amazing and the food was delicious. While you wait you can purchase a beverage out back, and we only waited about 15 min. Seating consists of indoor and outdoor. Parking lot can be busy, but there is a side lot and parking in the back. Def worth the wait!

I have to admit, Magnolia Cafe has been in my list of places to try but somehow it never happened. Today, because we're in the neighborhood, so we decided to visit one located in the South Congress Ave. After putting the name down to get a table (a straight forward process that just need to scan a barcode and fill out the information), we got seated within 20 minutes. We started with Chips, queso and salsa (It was so good and gone so fast that did not have time to take a picture 😅); for the lunch we got Chicken and the Egg, Omelette with shredded beef, Chicken Enchiladas and Voodoo Blue Cheese burger with a side order of home fries (My order). Without knowing what to expect, I have to admit that it was an outstanding burger: from the nicely cooked beef patties to blue cheese crumbles and grilled buns, the result far exceeded my expectation. I'm addition, judging by how quickly the rest of family finished their meals, I can only assume other dishes were good, too. The service we received was excellent, definitely deserves to be mentioned. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Highly recommend it. 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was our second visit, although this time on Saturday around noon it was kind of disappointing. Both host staff was not friendly or welcoming, just matter of fact.-no smiles! Our server was very friendly but very distracted and not very attentive to us. We had to wave her down a couple of times to get some assistance. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy added shredded beef which was yummy and the Magnolia Stir Fry which was not yummy. The Stir Fry was more like a soup, way too much teriyaki sauce and barely any rice. The highlight was the Root Beer Float, perfection!! If we go back, I’ll stick with breakfast items.

Vibe is what Austin used to feel like about a decade ago: eclectic, unserious, fun, and quirky! The service is top notch! I'm gluten free and their jalapeno cornbread pancake is so yummy! I add feta and bacon to mine for a sweet/savory/creamy/spicy experience. It's so yum! I also enjoy their huevos rancheros too! Great place for a brunch spot and they're open 24 hours on the weekends!! Make sure to come early to put your name down for the guest list!

We were visiting Austin from Denver and one of our Denver Friends recommended Magnolia Cafe to us. The food here was awesome and I highly recommend it me and everyone else at our table ended up getting breakfast items, and all of them were delicious! I got an omelette (that I can't remember the name of) and ginger pancakes stuffed with bananas, and it was delicious! My friend got the shredded beef omelette and said it was awesome, and my girlfriend got the chocolate chip pancakes and also loved them. Overall I highly recommend this place for their breakfast this was probably the best omelette I've ever had!

Easy Tiger Bake Shop & Beer Garden at The Linc is a popular spot in Austin, known for its all-day brunch and sprawling 150-seat beer garden with an outdoor stage. The place offers a variety of dishes like corned beef-and-potato hash and Tandoori chicken salad, as well as artisanal breads made in-house daily.
Great space! Big, picnic table style, great shareable food options, great coffee and drinks. They have trivia night at 7pm Monday and Wednesday. Tuesdays at 7pm, they have music bingo which is so much fun! They’re having an October fest celebration with events at their locations. Love this place.

We visited the place for a private event. The area has a wide space patio with umbrellas that make a park like experience. The food was served nicely decorated in platters. We just tried appetizers and the combination of them was good. The chicken on the sandwich was juicy and tasty, fried but soft. This time, the main attraction was the pretzels combined, with charcuterie. I would recommend adding some type of covers for the food while it’s out. It’s a nice place go a good weather afternoon.
Rosamaria G — Google review
First time at Easy Tiger caffe and we were impressed. Super cool space! It's perfect for families with kids or solo because there is so much outdoor seating. The avocado toast was the blast and waffle fries were delicious as well as the kielbasa and sausage. Chocolate brownie and chocolate chip cookie was perfect addition for dessert. Good drink menu. Really cool atmosphere and vibe and very friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Great place for Sunday brunch. We have usually come in the evening, but were surprised by the depth of the breakfast menu. The pastrami and egg sandwich with a latte to wash it down hit the spot. No trip to a beer garden is complete without a nice sausage. Highly recommend for any time you are craving a fun time out.
Garrett B — Google review
Fun spot with great breakfast/brunch items. The French toast bites are great, as are any of the egg croissant sandwiches (my favorite being the guacamole and bacon). Lots of comfortable space inside and outside, with space heaters for the patio in colder months. I love the soundtrack - lots of artists I haven't heard before (and many that even Shazam can't figure out). Several board games, billiards, ping-pong tables and corn hole throw for group activities. Fun spot for events!
Jordan P — Google review
Horrible service. I ordered an avocado toast. The toast was burned (charred black throughout), initially I thought it had a layer of black beans until I took one bite and tasted pure charcoal. So I patiently and calmly waited for the lady at the counter to finish what she was doing on the side, and requested a new toast. She was obviously not happy and when she brought me a new one she slung it on the table and when I thanked her just ignored me and left with a huff. I will never go back. The second toast was also obviously thrown together and not had some burnt spots. In addition, she asked me with obvious shortness if “do you want it toasted or just plain”, as if to tell me that I don’t understand what toasted means.
Joumana A — Google review
First time here. Outside seating was comfortable and spacious. It took a while for our server to make his way around and he was not that attentive to the table. The food took a while to arrive. The pretzel was ok. Nothing special. It would be better heated up. All the sides were cold. I was expecting at least warm to hot cheese with it. I got the burger and it was cooked well done when I asked for medium. It tasted ok but very messy.
Flash P — Google review
Ok so this place is the real deal. We can start off with the fact that this is a tremendous bakery. At street level this is what you see when you walk in. Down the stairs is a cozy dining area and bar. The architecture is unique to the original building and adds to the overall ambience. Service is excellent and they also have outdoor ping pong and many tables to sit at. The bar is great and has everything you could desire. The food, however, is amazing. The pastrami is crispy and juicy at the same time. It has a slightly smokey flavor in addition to the traditional pastrami flavor. The sweet island sauce is a great complement to the excellent home baked rye bread. The German Board comes with the bar cheese, kraut, homemade mustard, a brat, and a couple of pretzels. I also ordered the venison jalapeno sausage and it was out of this world. It brings the heat so make sure to have a pint of 🍺 to wash it down! This place was filled with locals, always a good sign. If you have issues with stairs (see pics) you might have a problem getting to the basement. It's only one flight but they are steep. Do not miss this place!

Cafe
Elizabeth Street Café is a charming establishment that offers a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine. Located in South Austin, this café features a delightful garden patio and bright indoor spaces. The menu includes traditional Vietnamese dishes like pho and banh mi, as well as creative French breakfast items. Guests can savor the delectable Ginger-chili Oil Dumplings, marinated in a flavorful sauce with pork, shrimp, water chestnuts, and herbs.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. The food is just so good. We’ve tried so many things on the menu and have loved it all. Only complaint is service and be a little slow and the seating is tight because it’s a small restaurant but the rest of the experience makes up for it. If you’re looking for great Vietnamese food in the Austin area, this is the spot.
Grant W — Google review
My husband and I visited Elisabeth Street Café on a Sunday for a late lunch, and street parking nearby was easy to find. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and, since we had a reservation, promptly shown to our table. The tables are set quite close together - so, at times when the noise level is not deafening, it kind of feels like a large banquet table as one can overhear conversations from nearby guests. Overall, I had two main concerns during our visit: Noise level: the restaurant was extremely loud. Voices from a large table carried throughout the room, making it difficult to hear my husband even when sitting directly across from him. The atmosphere became uncomfortable, and I would recommend that management consider adding sound-absorbing panels to help balance the acoustics. Food spiciness: while the flavors were bold, the redfish dish was overwhelmingly spicy. I usually tolerate heat quite well, but this level of spice left me with severe reflux, which is very uncommon for me. It would be helpful if the staff asked guests about their spice tolerance before serving dishes prepared with such intensity. Elisabeth Street Café has great potential, with a lovely ambiance and attentive service, but addressing the noise and spice-level concerns would make the dining experience much more enjoyable.
Allyne D — Google review
The food was outstanding, a solid 50/10. The presentation, dish choices, flavors, and temperature were all amazing. However, the service left much to be desired. I initially thought I could give them the benefit of the doubt, considering they were transitioning into dinner service, but I was never offered anything to drink beyond the water that their attentive busser provided. Even though I was dining alone, I had to encourage a family of three to seek out their server. The inattentiveness of the staff was frustrating, and I can't honestly recommend this place for a dining experience but I would for take out.
Jessica B — Google review
The food was very delicious. It was my first time visiting Austin and my cousin decided to take me here. The service was quick and our server was very attentive. I loved the food so much and would definitely come back.

This place is very cute! The beignets were incredible. Super airy and fresh. I also got the lime fried chicken banh mi which was super tasty! Would be back for more :) The place is pretty busy but vibes are still great!
Erin I — Google review
Solid meal, really great service and an amazing vibe! All the dishes are solid, but the French toast is REALLY good. So good in fact, that I ate it before I thought to take a photo. Highly recommend getting everything as family style and splitting it up!
Kevin P — Google review
We’re visiting Austin and all of us agree that Elizabeth Street has been our favorite meal. The spring rolls, chili oil dumplings, Singapore noodles, steak fried rice, chocolate mousse and croissant beignets were all amazing. Our server, Anna, was great. The atmosphere is lovely. Definitely worth a visit or ten.
Cathleen P — Google review
Brunch was amazing! It was our first time here, so the staff explained the menu to help us decide. They were very considerate when it came to allergies and went to check with the kitchen before submitting our order. They even helped us take a photo after our meal. 100% would recommend and definitely will go back!!

Launderette is a charming dining spot located in a converted gas station and laundromat, offering gourmet New American cuisine. The restaurant's intimate dining room provides a perfect setting for date nights, while its brunch service features delightful options like mimosas, pull-apart cinnamon buns, and biscuit sandwiches with unique twists. With a beautiful patio adorned with marble tables and blue-and-white umbrellas, Launderette offers an inviting ambiance.
Launderette is such a good dining place. Came here for an early Friday lunch. Our server was so friendly and welcoming. She suggested great dishes. The bread is made in-house and phenomenal. It was perfectly crusted with a softness that makes it delightful to eat. I thought most of the dishes were well balanced and tasty. I had the lavender matcha oat milk latte. It was not overly floral or matcha-y. Glad I found this place on my stop in Austin. Thanks for a great meal!
April D — Google review
Somewhat quirky place on the east side of Austin. We went for a late dinner with no reservation and sat at the bar for a unique experience with a view of the open kitchen. The menu items were creative and for us presented some new ingredients, e.g. carta di musica and jardineira. We had the white bean hummus and the “lettuces” salad, both good. Staff was nice. The clentine granita dessert was amazing.
Astral T — Google review
Went here for lunch 4/23 & 4/24. It was busy but not to bad. No wait for counter seating. Rainbow Trout bowl was tasty. Small portions on the bowl but was well worth it. Perfect lunch meal. Iced lavender latte was extremely good. Price point is what you would expect from the Austin area. The tri tip sandwich was very good and worth it.
Jose R — Google review
Went here for brunch and the food was great. We got the pork hash, the chicken Sammie, zucchini bread, pancakes, pull apart bun, and frites. The service was as expected, nothing spectacular but he was patient and friendly. The space is small and we were in close quarters with other guests which I didn’t like too much because it feels like we are right on top of each other. We all had a hard time getting out without feeling like we were bothering the other people. Overall is a cute vibe and the good is decent price so I recommend trying it!
Carly C — Google review
Launderette is a quaint and charming spot nestled in a lovely neighborhood with easy parking and thoughtfully curated decor. The ambiance is warm and inviting with great seating options that make it a wonderful place to enjoy a meal out. The cocktail menu has some standout options. The Malfy Spritz was especially delightful, light, refreshing, and reminiscent of an upscale lemonade with butterfly pea blossom for a floral touch. In contrast, Kay's Coupe is more gin-forward and great for someone who enjoys a stronger drink. Appetizers were a highlight. The pomme frites and house-made chips with pimento cheese were both solid starters. The pimento cheese was fresh and flavorful, a huge leap above store-bought versions. The sticky Brussels sprouts were slightly al dente, but the sauce and Parmesan made them very enjoyable. The striped bass crudo was delicious, with an intense heat that I personally liked, but the menu doesn't mention that it's very spicy, which could catch some people off guard. The burrata was excellent, especially paired with a huge piece of perfectly toasted bread. A delightful surprise was the tempura snap peas, crispy, unique, and full of flavor. The lettuces with citrus breadcrumbs were the only disappointment among the starters, as the citrus breadcrumbs made the salad heavy and soggy. For mains, the bistro steak had good flavor but was a little bit tough, likely due to the cut of meat. The Texas redfish tasted good, though it was a bit oily and the portion was smallish. Those wanting more seafood might prefer the whole branzino, just be mindful of the bones. The sticky pork ribs with hoisin sauce came in a generous portion and would be ideal for those who enjoy a sweet glaze. Desserts: the raspberry tart was a nice option for a light dessert and would appeal to fans of white chocolate. The carrot cake, however, was underwhelming. If you're expecting a classic carrot cake, this is not it. It’s more of a light surprise and misses the mark if you're looking for that rich, spiced texture and flavor of carrot cake. That said, the honey crunch served with it was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the dessert. The surprise of the evening was the decaffeinated coffee served on a beautiful tray that everyone appreciated, a perfect way to end the meal. Service was impeccable with kind and attentive staff. Launderette is a wonderful place to visit for a well-rounded and memorable dining experience.

My wife and I had dinner 7/19/25. Food tasted great but the shawarma cauliflower included more than a few yellow, past-expiration arugula leaves in the mix. No one should be served that. I pointed out the pile of them I had collected to the server and she said she'd "tell them". Nothing came of that and I'm disappointed, especially considering the supposed quality level of this establishment.
Steve I — Google review
We were in the neighborhood and stopped by due to a previous recommendation. We visited on a Sunday early evening and it was not busy. We ordered drinks and shareable snacks. The hummus was good and the pork belly was a little tough, but had a good spicy flavor. I liked the use of the microgreens and mint. Our server was attentive the entire visit.

From Georgia on vacation. This place was 3 mins from our Airbnb. Pretty disappointed in the limited menu and portion size. The burgers do not come with any sides. Add fries for $9. Small Portion. We got the burger and pork belly with 2 side of fries.$59 The tables are very close together. You can be apart of someone conversation! Food was flavorful but costly compared to Georgia.

Mexican restaurant
El Naranjo, located on South Lamar, is a Mexican restaurant known for its traditional interior Mexican cuisine crafted by chef Iliana De La Vega. The menu features dishes like rancheros, huevos benedictos, and chilaquiles with a unique twist compared to Tex-Mex joints.
I’ve eaten dinner AND brunch here, and both were fabulous. For dinner we tried the ceviche and empanadas to start, and the halibut a la diabla and one of the seasonal/special moles with halibut as our mains. I’d recommend it all. You can’t go wrong with traditional Oaxacan mole prepared by a James Beard award winning chef. For brunch we started with the vanilla pan dulce, made in-house, because I wanted to dip it in my cafe de olla. It’s a must. For mains we had the huevos rancheros, huevos benedictos, and the chilaquiles divorciados with over-medium eggs. All were delicious. The atmosphere is great, the decor is modern and minimalist yet relaxing, and their authentic tableware compliments the presentation of the food. The service is impeccable. Your water glass is never empty and the servers are so knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. Caesar is amazing and will take the best care of you.

Incredible food. Wonderful, all made from scratch. Meat and sauces were incredible. I had a cocktail, it was delicious and light. Can't recommend highly enough, will be back. Gerry was the perfect waiter, and was so helpful in choosing the right meals for us. His recommendations were spot on.

This restaurant offers an authentic Mexican dining experience, with incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. It’s also quite vegetarian-friendly. We tried the chocolate tamales with marigold ice cream, and they were absolutely amazing.

Unremarkable surroundings showcase average tasting food. Pork was a 4-5 star but duck gamey and not prepared well. Drinks are pricey even for Austin. Waiter was very sweet but novice at best.

El Naranjo’s food is always excellent. Their menu often features drinks and dishes inspired by specific states in Mexico. I’ve had and enjoyed their dinner before (highly recommend the filete and house-made ice cream), but this was my first time having brunch. The queso fundido (with handmade corn tortillas), ceviche and huevos benedictos were all impressive. I definitely scarfed down the queso before managing a photo (oops). And I definitely couldn’t go without a jar or 4 of their salsa macha. They do ship, but I still tend to purchase extra whenever I’m in Austin.

Went for brunch and we loved it! everything was delicious and fairly affordable. The mole was some of the best we have ever had, and the chilaquiles were super fresh and zingy.
Isabelle W — Google review
We visited this place mainly for the chiles en nogada, the fact that they serve them it's already a win and they were good. Tortillas here are really good as well, kinda reminds me of my home town.
Miguel A — Google review
We’ve been going to El Naranjo since their previous location and always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, this is the third time we’ve found human hair in our food at the new location. The first time we thought it might’ve been an accident, but after two more times, it’s completely unacceptable. It’s a real shame because the food itself is great, but the hygiene standards are clearly not. It seems like employees aren’t wearing hairnets or following proper sanitation practices, and that’s just not okay for any restaurant. Until they address this issue seriously, we won’t be coming back.

Hillside Farmacy, located in a historic building in East Austin, is an antique-chic eatery that offers thoughtfully sourced eclectic fare and also operates as a specialty grocery store. The restaurant's location has a rich history, once serving as a neighborhood drugstore dating back to the 1920s.
I was pleasantly surprised by Hillside Farmacy. Cute and kitschy vibe and with great food to match. You cannot beat the Sunday $25 steak dinner special. Not only did I receive a huge portion of steak, but it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I practically licked my plate clean. Service was spectacular and attentive. We left feeling full and satisfied. I can’t wait to bring friends back to this gem.

My family came into town, and they love brunch. We went to Hillside on a Friday. It is so cute inside. The service was great! Everyone really enjoyed their food. They had great offerings for the kids too. It’s a great spot.

The food was great! We got pancakes, eggs, avocado toast, egg sando, shrimp n grits. All of it was amazing. I especially loved the granola in the yogurt. I wish there was a little more yogurt but very good!

10/23 impromptu dinner date night with hubby. They had a big party event but the staff still seated us and gave us good service. It’s a fun place to enjoy a no-frail casual French bistro meal.

Yup! This is the place to be for brunch. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t super busy. Service was fast, ambience was fantastic, and food was to die for! We got a pastry, two drinks, and our main dish all for under $65!

Revisiting an old favorite. Not do much anymore. Why? Service: I came for brunch at around 2;40 pm. The waitress took her sweet time to get to me. Nice lady but not in a hurry. Aftercshe dropped my plate, she disappeared. After waiting a while, I had to ask the manager for mustard. She showed only to drop the check. They had the gall to suggest 20% tip. Food: Very disappointing. I ordered the Benny plate. Muffins were tiny. Poached eggs overcooked. Chipotle Hollandaise bland an obviously some commercial mixture. Sticky to the palate. Ugh! Potatoes were cut too big, barely hot, and not crispy. Floury on the inside. Probably sitting under the class heat lamps for too long. The Espresso for my affogato was presented in a shot glass and I spilled part on it on my table. They should have a proper vessel for that. Coffee ok but not special. Atmosphere: like I remembered, just older by a few years. See pictures. They could use a fresh coat of paint in spots. Overall, a not so good experience. Too bad. In their heyday, they were one of my favorites. No more. Oh well! Chef Alain Braux

The café serves brunch daily with a balanced menu featuring salads, bowls, savory breakfast options, and delectable pastries baked in-house. Popular dishes include the lemon ricotta hotcakes and gravlax bagel. It's a favorite among both hotel guests and locals looking to refuel while exploring the area.
Dog friendly on the patio! Very friendly service. Had great fresh ground coffee. The food tasted freshly preapred with great flavor and portion size. Almost too much food. Nice music and ambiance. Shaded patio on congress makes for great people watching and then close to shopping or restaurant hopping. Will definitely be back to try other menu items or just simply a black iced coffee...

Top notch service, easy to park in the garage at south congress hotel. I ordered the green lettuces salad ($16) and added smoked salmon ($12). Paired with their seasonal iced strawberry matcha. Really enjoyed sitting outside and my friend loved their burger. You can walk through the hotel lobby to get to the garage and they’ll validate for 2 hours. Would happily return

Had brunch at a cozy café and really enjoyed the food—especially the smoked salmon bagel, pistachio muffin, and soup. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the overall vibe was lovely. However, the service was a bit disappointing. The staff didn’t come across as very friendly, and I had to ask twice just to get an extra spoon. When I requested a small bowl, they brought out a clear glass one that didn’t seem like proper serving ware and might’ve even been used. Great food, but the service could definitely be improved.

Mmmmmmm French toast. I will say I expected the orange in the glaze to be a little more world changing, but it kind of distracted from the nutty syrupy goodness. Kate hyped up the deviled eggs and they did indeed deliver, though I would have liked more of the mayo filling. I was a little surprised no one offered to refill my coffee, but for $3.50 I'm fine with it. We went on a Sunday, and Kate ordered a mimosa at 9:45. When she was told she couldn't have one before 10 am, she said OK I would like a mimosa at 10 am please. Lo and behold, at 10:01 a mimosa arrived at our table. That's good service right there!

UPDATED: The owner responded and said they DO validate the parking. Our table and a table next to us were told no, so ensure to ask a second person if told no. Great food and great location. Our server was awesome! We tried the Matcha, Quinoa Bowl, Pancakes, Kimchi Hash, BLT Sandwich 🥪 with fries🍟. Be advised they do not validate parking. This place was a 10 out of 10, and we would definitely go back.

Originally known as Captain Quackenbush's Intergalactic Dessert Company and Espresso Cafe in the '80s and '90s, it has evolved into a beloved spot in Hyde Park.
I'm so glad I finally made it to Quack's! This bakery is a gem. I decided to try their chocolate cake and apple pie, and I wasn't disappointed. The chocolate cake was incredibly moist and flavorful, definitely one of the best I've ever had. The apple pie was also fantastic, with a flaky crust and a delicious filling. Plus, the outdoor seating area is really charming - a perfect place to relax and enjoy a sweet treat. I'll definitely be back to try more of their goodies!"

Best kolache I think I’ve ever had. Look at the cheese crisp outer edges!! The danishes are flaky and delicious. The cappuccino was less than ideal as it had that burnt flavor to it. Definitely coming back here.
Saman B — Google review
I've been coming here for years and just realized I've never submitted a review. This is one of my favorite neighborhood bakeries. My favs are the chocolate cake, sugar cinnamon roll, ham and cheese croissant and coconut pie for my Granny. Today I went in for the croissant. The flakey butter crust practically melts in your mouth. The cheese and ham combo blend perfectly to create this breakfast treat. The service here is always professional and welcoming. There are several small tables and chairs outside. This particular area reminds me of old Austin. Its lovely to sit outside Quacks and enjoy your snack or beverage on a nice day.
Quincy U — Google review
I used to come here when I was in college and I remember it having the best apple pie where the apple was sliced so thinly and it was great, but unfortunately, they stopped doing that for a pretty standard apple pie recipe - chunks, not sliced. I was pretty disappointed. The cinnamon roll was good, but they don't warm it for you and sure, they have a microwave you can use, but there's no plates for it - I would have rather them had it behind the counter so I didn't have to put the roll on a napkin just to get it warm. I also got a hot chocolate here and read off of reddit that their hot chocolate doesn't come out scolding - which was true, it was very drinkable when I first got it, but lost its heat pretty quick. This isn't like the Quacks I used to go to and I probably won't be coming back.

Just went to quacks for some coffee and a vegan chocolate muffin. Coffee was absolutely delicious. Muffin was great too. I bought the key lime pie for a friend’s birthday from here a little while ago and it was a huge hit. Also, the staff were so friendly. I will be back

Jake T — Google review
The service was mediocre. Not very friendly, and they forgot one of my items even though id asked further questions about it so I had to drive all the way back to get it, and I understand they may see a lot of people but I was literally there maybe 10 minutes prior and the staff showed no recognition. The items were mostly reasonably priced, though $5 for the size of the carrot cake seems high to me. And the flavors were just okay. The carrot cake was a bit too sweet for my liking. The cream cheese danish was huge but a bit dry and flaky, and made it difficult to get a bite with all flavors. The snickerdoodle was good, and a great size. I liked the Czech tea cookie well enough. The merch was cute and well priced. If I’d been more of a fan of the pastries I would definitely purchase.

Mattie's is a charming restaurant located in a 19th-century farmhouse in South Austin. Originally owned by Henry and Martha Faulk, the property was transformed into a mini-farm, providing fresh produce for the restaurant. The opulent setting includes peacocks roaming the grounds, creating an elegant atmosphere for special occasions or date nights.
Amazing experience at Mattie’s! The atmosphere is charming and uniquely in this house, and the fried chicken was absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Great service and a beautiful setting made it even better. Definitely a must-visit!

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary here, and we couldn’t have felt more special. We were greeted with a celebratory toast and ended with an anniversary dessert. The atmosphere is gorgeous and very eclectic which I love, and the service was top notch. Michael, our server was awesome! I was nervous and ordered my salmon well done, to which he replied, “you can do whatever you want”. That made me feel important, powerful, and awesome. Don’t even get me started on the peacocks because this review is long enough. no notes.
Addison S — Google review
I had such a lovely time at Mattie’s! They surprised us with complimentary potato chips served with a tangy sour cream and chive dip, which was such a thoughtful touch and really delicious. For my meal, I ordered the beet salad with chicken, and it was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. The flavors balanced perfectly — light but satisfying. Even though they didn’t have the hummingbird cake I was hoping for, they gave us complimentary affogato. It definitely made up for it. The waitress who served us was attentive, super friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. And of course, one of the highlights of dining at Mattie’s is spotting the peacocks roaming the grounds. It adds such a unique and charming touch to the whole experience — you really feel like you’re somewhere special. Between the quality of the food, the welcoming staff, and the magical atmosphere (peacocks included!), Mattie’s is definitely a place I’d recommend.

The location and atmosphere are absolutely amazing. It’s a charming old house on land, in immediate south austin. We had an amazing time eating dinner under the oak trees and watching the peacocks climb the trees for the night. The sour cream and onion chips and the pineapple cake desert were great but the entrees didn’t live up to our expectations for the atmosphere. They were good but not great, which is what we expected.
Jordan M — Google review
Mattie’s is wonderful date night spot. The ambiance is so great. I loved all the trees and string lights, and appreciated that it is tucked away in a neighborhood. Our food was great but definitely not the best take on upscale southern I’ve ever had. The peaches and burrata appetizer was underwhelming, but the fried green tomatoes and duck were very very good!
Lennis B — Google review
Loved the costumer service here! The hostess and waitstaff were very helpful and the atmosphere was perfect for our anniversary dinner. I was hoping for a little more flavor from the $77 ribeye steak but it was still great. :)
M L — Google review
This is a great special occasion restaurant — it is also good for groups. Such a charming spot with great service and great food. The decor inside is so well done and tasteful, with every detail given love and attention. Refined, but still relaxed and not stuffy at all. The biscuits and the fried chicken were so good, but everyone loved their meals. We were 6 adults and 1 child inside the main dining room downstairs. At night/dusk it’s extra charming with the string lights outside and the peacocks — at a certain point in the evening, they fly up into the trees to next for the night. One thing: acoustically it can be a little loud inside so if you are a bigger group, you won’t hear much aside from your section of the table (those next to you or right across)
Mary M — Google review
The food was absolutely delectable, and every dish we ordered was a delight. However, the parking situation was quite frustrating. We couldn’t recall where there was on-site parking advertised, so we ended up parking in an area that didn’t have any signs indicating it was valet-only. It was also quite dark and rainy at night, so we could have been mistaken. The valet staff informed us about valet parking and mentioned that on-site parking had been changed recently. While $10 may not seem like a lot for valet parking, it felt like we were essentially paying to park and then retrieving our car ourselves. There was a couple had their car brought up to the valet spot when we just arrived, while we and our friends had to walk to get our cars. Open Table indicated that valet validation required a restaurant receipt, but we didn’t receive any confirmation of this. Despite the friendly valet staff, the overall experience was confusing and disappointing for the guests.

Just know: It’s all downhill from here. My coworker bought me a cinnamon roll and I took a look at it thinking “what is this basic thing before me with no icing? We shall call you ‘Karen’.” I thought it was gonna be one of those fluffy dinner rolls-like cinnamon rolls. BUT NO! I took a bite and was surprised that I bit into a deep fried churro-like, fried croissant-like, deep dish pan pizza-like, cronut-like devilish concoction that was slightly oily with every bite and covered in cinnamon sugar. What the hell?! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!!!! It’s all downhill from here. I have to try everything else, but that is a 5-star cinnamon roll.

The kind of bakery and café every neighborhood should have. I had the green salad— wonderfully fresh ingredients and a house made balsamic vinaigrette. along with a generous made just right tuna salad. I took a slice of coconut cream pie to go -perfection! Just the right amount of sweetness. You can also pre-order bread — they have sourdough which is a challenge to find here. Their prices are very reasonable and I also appreciate the friendly service!⭐️

I am a giant fan of Uppercrust bakery! My favorite is cinnamon roll and coffee combo! Hands down best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. Staff is almost always friendly and curtious. Make sure you get there early they do sell out of some items. You can't go wrong with any of the baked items or items on menu/board. Only down side is parking can be a little tight and not always table available, but more reason to take to go and enjoy at the park!

Heard about the popular cinnamon roll at this place. Unfortunately they had ran out of those and I tried the last piece of Schnecken. Paperboy is a popular brunch spot in Austin, known for its warm and hip atmosphere. Reservations are recommended weeks in advance due to high demand, but walk-ins are also welcome. The restaurant offers traditional diner seating as well as a downstairs patio with a view of East 11th street. The menu features classic breakfast items like bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches alongside more unique options such as braised pork and sweet potato hash.
Love the vibe of this place. The tall brick hollow wall lets sunlight stream in beautifully. I ordered the chicken and biscuits — the gravy is a spicy mushroom sauce that pairs perfectly with the biscuits. The chicken is crispy and tender, though slightly on the sweet side. Better have reservation in advance or the wait is super long.
Rachel W — Google review
Paperboy is absolutely phenomenal. The meal started with four buttery biscuits, served with butter and a seasonal marmalade—this time, peach. They were divine: flaky, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The hash was a perfect balance of flavors, with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired beautifully with the savory shredded pork. The pecan mole added just the right touch of depth without being overpowering. The pancakes were another standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Truly a must-order. The only miss for me was the cheesy potato side. It wasn’t bad, but compared to everything else, it didn’t stand out, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, Paperboy delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic breakfast we shared the empanada, biscuits and jam, Huevos Rancheros Grits and the Paperboy Pancake. Everything was great. Even their drip coffee was next level. Only complaint is getting blasted by the sun the entire breakfast. Could easily be addressed but they did not have a remedy for it unfortunately.

Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!

Some of the best breakfast in Austin! We came here for a friend’s birthday breakfast and it did not disappoint. We sat outside but it was shaded and there were fans so it was perfect. The coffee was fantastic and tasted high quality, not super sweet but amazing nonetheless. The paperboy pancake is a must, I saw it on TikTok and had to try it. Big, thick pancake but at the same time fluffy. It had great flavor, definitely add the syrup on top, it gets absorbed through the whole pancake. I also got the chicken and biscuit. The chicken was flavorful and crispy, a little kick from the hot honey. And the gravy was delicious! My husband got the standard breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. And he really enjoyed it. The potatoes were super yummy and seasoned to perfection. The toast came with preserved but we couldn’t really tell what kind, but it was great. Highly recommend stopping by when in Austin!

Wow! The food was amazing as was the service! We ordered the chicken and gravy and their gravy was divinely magical! It was sweet, savory and I think I detected a hint of nutmeg in it. Delicious! Also, the pancake was the most buttery, soft pancake I've ever had and it was served with a sweet cinnamon butter. Their cheesy hashbrown was really good too! The staff are super nice and provide exceptional service!

Sugar Mama's Bakeshop is a well-known bakery in Austin, with vintage decor and a cozy atmosphere. They gained fame by winning Food Network's Cupcake Wars in 2020 and have since become a staple in the local dessert scene. Their autumn-themed cupcakes are particularly popular, featuring unique flavors like Caramel Apple, The Notorious F.G., and 24 Carrot Magic.
Sugar Mamas made the deserts for our wedding and we honestly could not have been happier. No one else I spoke to was able to make the cake we envisioned but when we brought the idea to Sugar Mamas they made it no problem. It along with the vegan chocolate chip cookies, cupcakes, and toffee cookies were/are the best deserts we’ve had. So much so that the cookies have become a staple in my household. The employees were/are always kind and welcoming. The communication before and on our wedding day was on point and the end result was better than we could have even dreamed of. We highly recommend Sugar Mommas for events or even just as a delicious treat should you find yourself in ATX.

We recently visited Sugar Mama's in Austin in the afternoon and were thrilled to find that it is still as delightful as we remember from years ago. My absolute favorite is their red velvet cupcake, charmingly named Angelina. It was just as delicious as I recall, with a perfect balance of moist cake and creamy frosting. The atmosphere is cozy, but mostly a quick pickup kinda vibe, making it a good spot for a drop-in for sweet treats. The service was okay, but the 🌟 of the visit was definitely the cupcakes. If you're in Austin and have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend stopping by Sugar Mama's for cupcakes. It's a nostalgic favorite that never disappoints!

A cute little bakery shop with some really good selection; it’s not just sweets. Fun vibe: a cute little treasure of south Austin. I thought that tiny cake, the Lavender Honey-vanilla petit four, would just feel like a mouth cleanser but it's actually fairly dense and PACKED with flavor! It tastes like eating the whole lavender plant, but not in any bad way. It has an incredible depth of flavor!

Great local spit service up pastries and coffee selection. The almond cappuccinos were great. They also have my favorite triple chunk chocolate chip cookies.

super cozy neighborhood spot - usually quiet and perfect for reading a book with a cup of coffee. the 🥐 are beautifully layered and airy and the macarons are very good too - my favorite is the strawberry. their staff member Chloe was super helpful and sweet when we visited today.

This French pastry shop is a great spot to enjoy some delicious desserts and Parisian pastries. It's a cozy place to catch up with a friend over coffee. We tried their coffee and eclairs and they were really tasty, with a yummy filling and topping. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you're a dessert lover!

I work at Don's Automotive around the corner from La Patisserie and I come here quite often. Over the years, I have always been greeted like family and left with a delicious latte and a sweet or savory treat to get the day started. My all time favorites are the turkey & cheese croissants, the cro-brio donuts and of course the macarons[I'll bring a 6-pack back to the shop occasionally to help with morale]. La Patisserie is a South Austin gem!
Jimmy P — Google review
I think they better use the phrase "inspired by." These pastries are fresh and well-made. As for authentic, no. The beignet and almond croissant are close but not quite. The crobrios as original creations are delicious and balanced out by a cup of black coffee. The aesthetic is again inspired by a French cafe-small, artistic and looks like it's family-owned. I don't know if it is or not, but that's the vibe.

Gabrielas Downtown is a vibrant and trendy spot located in the Bouldin Creek area, offering a mix of modern Mexican dishes and classic favorites. The restaurant features an expansive patio where guests can enjoy their meals along with margaritas and mezcal cocktails. The menu includes a variety of options such as gorditas, flautas, tostadas, tacos, burritos, carnitas, barbacoa, and authentic menudo.
Went to Gabriella’s Downtown Austin for brunch and it did not disappoint! I ordered the chilaquiles and they were absolutely delicious. I also had a Bloody Mary, nothing too fancy in presentation but super well-blended and tasty. I sat at the bar to keep it quick, and the bartender was awesome, super attentive and checked in on us often. Overall, great food, great service, and great drinks. Definitely recommend!

I always wanted to try this location because of the views. I had gone to the south location plenty of times and of course, it’s much bigger. This location is very small and the wait was long but we did have a group of 10. I did call ahead of time and they still had us wait an hour. The host wasn’t that friendly and I would stick to my south location when my family and friends come into town. The food is always 10/10 and we all love Birria tacos. It is a bit pricey but worth it ◡̈ my family from California really enjoyed this place they said it felt like they were at a day club and didn’t want to leave (lol). Our server was very nice and she took her time I’m sad I forgot her name but she really made sure once she talked to us that she took care of us and got everything we needed.

Don’t Bother Unless You Only Want Steak Parking? None. Service? Meh. Drinks? Gross. Menu? Only in Spanish, which is fine if the staff helps you. I asked for chicken tacos and got flautas. The only thing worth anything was the steak, and even that couldn’t save the experience. No free valet, no real guidance, and the vibe was off. Save your money, your outfit, and your time.

I would not consider this “Tex-Mex” but Authentic Mexican food. Authentic, tasty and flavorful food! Amazing service, stiff drinks, economical prices, and awesome views and a very organic feel (Green-life) all in ONE! No complaints. We’re visiting and coming back before we leave Austin, TX.

Tous Les Jours in Austin is a French-Asian bakery known for its wide selection of freshly made sweet and savory pastries, cakes, and breads. The bakery offers over 300 different baked goods daily, including their popular Heart Chocolate Cake with Belgian chocolate ganache. With a reputation for soft, fluffy bread and Korean-style pastries like sweet potato pastry and red bean bun, Tous Les Jours has become a favorite spot for pastry lovers.
I’ve never seen this store independently operating outside of H mart so I was curious to come visit there! Like as usual, this place is very nice bakery like you see at H mart! I love their sweet bread and some savory ones but we came late so only things they had were sweet ones. So we grabbed custard, red sugar beans and sweet chestnut 🌰 bread! I had a custard one on the way home and it was very good! Excited to try chestnut one and sugar bean one! Keep up the good work! Cheers 🥂

Everything is individually wrapped so you can quickly take it to go if you're in a hurry. We went on a random Tuesday for brunch and it was empty except for one other customer. Their cappuccino was mediocre, customer service was good and there were a lot of pastries to choose from, mostly sweet but a few savory options. The kids were obsessed with the cake display but my eyes were on the macaroons.

I loved the strawberry sweet, it was a nice long pink bread with strawberry cream you would put on bread slices. The strawberry smoothie I got was also quite good, even managed to get a brain freeze from it! My sister also got the sweet Garlic Bread Sticks and seems to enjoy them.

My favorite bakery shop in Austin. Nothing here is too sweet, it’s just perfect! I usually get Mango Cloud Cake, Milk bread because these two are my top favorite! Mango Cloud Cake is very fluffy, creamy and some fresh mango in the cake too, so so good! The packaging is so nice including plastic cake cutter, candle and some match, very thoughtful!

Bought a birthday cake here—their Classic Cloud Cake—and it was a hit! Light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, just the way we like it. The fresh fruit on top added a perfect touch, and the presentation was beautiful. Staff was friendly and pickup was smooth. Will definitely be coming back for future celebrations!

Bakery
Capital City Bakery, located in Austin's Holly neighborhood, is a female-owned bakery that specializes in all-vegan treats. Their menu includes a variety of delectable options such as cupcakes, brownies, custom cakes, and more. The founder's dedication to perfecting recipes has resulted in popular items like the Confetti Cupcake, which features soft vanilla cake with sprinkles and vegan buttercream frosting.
My fiance and I found this place randomly looking for a birthday cake... my fiance ended up surprising me for my birthday with the vegan cupcakes and it's been a tradition ever since we moved here! We love to offer the cupcakes to our friends and family for the first time and not let them know that they're vegan. These are the best desserts I've ever had. Vegan Poptarts... sounds too good to be true right? Nope, it's real life and they taste JUST like regular Poptarts. Come support this incredible local Austin business. Everything I've had here, has been amazing. Pay attention to their Instagram each week to see what special flavors they are offering that week!
Bianca D — Google review
I did not realize that this was a vegan bakery (we just were walking by) so my taste wouldn’t really count here but I personally was not a fan. When we walked in there were only a few cupcakes left since it was the end of the day/weekend. They did look good though. The biggest problem I had was how filthy the place looked. The decor was cute (of course) but the floors and tables were all DIRTY. The place was welcoming enough. We had to wipe down the table, but sitting there looking at the super dirty floor was not appetizing.
Anissa M — Google review
I'm visiting from Los Angeles and my son took me to this bakery. He hadn't been before but heard great things about it. I had the peanut butter brownie and blackberry mocha iced coffee. As rich as the brownie looks, it wasn't too sweet AT ALL and it was rather delicious. The drink was different but good. My son had the carrot cake muffin and he loved it. I would definitely return as they had some other really delicious eats that I want to try. I would also recommend this bakery to others.
Flo E — Google review
I can’t get enough of this bakery! Everything I have tried there has been amazing. The cupcakes are all delicious and designed with all the details considered (my favorites are any of the chocolate cupcakes, they’re all super moist and some of them even have fillings!). The kolaches are so good too. Honestly wouldn’t change a thing, love this place!
T B — Google review
Because I have anaphylaxis to dairy and eggs, it's hard to find baked goods that I can eat, especially without any fear at all of cross-contamination. But this place has been my go-to for almost a decade. They made my wedding cake, I stop by every time I'm in downtown Austin for some cupcakes, and I pre-order every Thanksgiving and Christmas for some specialty pies. You can't go wrong here!!! :)
Anna-Maria C — Google review
Vegans with a sweet tooth, here’s your place. From kolaches (local staple, out-of-towners), cupcakes, brownies, everything looks, smells and tastes delicious here. The Sweet Potato Cream cheese kolache is heavenly, and the Salted Carmel Brownie is so decadent, it needed three sittings to finish. The service is impeccable, the staff is funny and accommodating for questions, overall a positive atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping here to satisfy your vegan sugar cravings.

The strawberry 🍓 blonde was so delicious! The frosting was super sweet and creamy. The cake was very moist. Both frosting and cake balanced well with each other. The selection was rather small but it certainly was good!

When looking for a bakery that provided vegan cupcakes for our wedding, we sent a couple emails out to different companies. Capital City Bakery is the only one that would actually respond to us, and I'm so glad they did! We had a small vegan carrot cake and vegan funfetti cupcakes and they were delicious! We had compliments all night about them. I highly recommend their services not only because they tasted amazing, but also for their prompt and consistent communication always keeping their customers in the loop.

Swedish Hill is a well-established bakery and cafe with a warm atmosphere and outdoor seating. It offers an all-day menu featuring Swedish classics such as freshly baked croissants, bagels, breads, pastries, breakfast specials, soups, salads, and signature sandwiches on freshly baked breads. The Little Swedish Hill location in Clarksville also has a full coffee bar.
First time checking out Swedish Hill, and the flaky pastries were our favorites! I’m a sucker for anything cherry, and the tart cherry cream cheese danish, ham and cheese, kouign amann, and Nutella bun, almond croissant were amazing. We took a chance on the macarons (cranberry orange, gingerbread, and eggnog) but I’d probably skip them next time. As macarons go, they’re not as sweet as others, which I appreciate, but the texture was a bit too crisp, not as much chew as I’d expect from a macaron. The coffee is nice and strong and doesn’t feel watered down, I got the iced Swedish coffee (coconut cream and oat milk) and my mom got a hot almond milk latte with lavender. Both were delicious. Go for the flaky pastries and coffee! Sourdough looks yummy too!

It's a beautiful bakery and coffee shop. The staff is delightful and fast-paced. I’d opt for their baked goods (the cinnamon roll might be the best in the city), but their breakfast tacos are shockingly good and light.

loveee this place! the staff always greets you with a warm smile. i got a nutella morning bun & it honestly is the best pastry ive ever had. the cinnamon sugar on the outside pairs perfectly with the buttery-flaky layers of the pastry & the nutella is not too sweet. ive had many good pastries in Austin but this is definitely one of my top favorites

Beautiful little pastry shop! The pastries are next level delicious. There’s a line but it moves fast and the staff is very kind. Great chicken and pasta salads for anyone looking for a quick lunch or snack. There’s a decent bit of outdoor seating but only a few seats inside. Plan to enjoy the patio or take to go.

Sandwich was $16.50. That mountain of lettuce on the bottom was an extra $0.50 - forgot my cheese as well. I would describe this as a “sad” sandwich. Also the online order is missing options you can order in store.
Robert W — Google review
As a devoted connoisseur of fine pastry and cuisine, I find myself increasingly disheartened by the lack of consistency at this establishment. On one occasion, I discovered a fly in my fruit salad—an unfortunate lapse in attention to detail. Moreover, the portions have become erratic, varying significantly in both size and weight; a more precise approach, such as the use of scales, would surely resolve this inconsistency. Twice, I’ve encountered whole cakes that were disappointingly dry, with frosting that crumbled rather than caressed the palate—a far cry from the delicate balance one would expect. The bagels, regrettably, are the most underwhelming I have ever tasted, leading me to abandon them after several attempts. Perhaps most disappointing, however, is the consistently indifferent service, particularly from the older employee of Slavic descent, whose lack of enthusiasm and apparent disinterest in guest satisfaction are palpable. On a more positive note, the pâte feuilletée creations retain their excellence, consistently embodying the finesse one hopes for in such delicate pastries.
Elli S — Google review
I really wanted to love this place, and was expecting more for the hype. I think it was probably the time of day and year that I went that was the issue. They were out of most of their selection, and the one pastry tart I did get was unpleasantly soggy at the bottom, and the other bun I got was dry and stale. The service was so efficient and friendly however and I loved how bright and clean and pretty the interior was. I would try again because I’ve heard such great things!
Britt — Google review
Amazing cafe and bakery! Very busy on a Sunday morning but the line moved quickly and there were multiple outdoor seating areas. The iced coffee and the cinnamon roll were the standouts but the bagel egg sandwich and avocado toast were also good. Will be back!

Cannot tell you how delicious the cookies are . Been years in Austin and they are the best I found by far. My kids ask me to drive from round rock to get them ! On top the lady is really welcoming and nice . Such a hidden gem. 💎

I’ve been coming here for a while - I tell everyone they are the best cookies in ATX. I just came to buy 10 cookies for my co-workers because I want them to try them! I cannot believe how my experience just went. Whoever the lady that helped me today was, she needs to be spoke to by her managers about customer service. She was extremely rude, rolled her eyes at me several times. I honestly couldn’t believe it - I was saying please and thank you… she was frustrated that I asked for a bag and she very sarcastically said “anything else?” Because she thought I was needy (only asked for 2 separate boxes because I’m giving cookies to 2 different groups. I said no, and to be honest you haven’t been very friendly and she had the audacity to reply and say “neither are you”. I was in shock. This is unacceptable customer service… puts a very sour taste in my mouth about coming here. I hope her managers speak to her. She is working right now which is Aug 26 2025 at 11:30 AM.

Located next to convenience store with a small parking spot that has only 4 spots shared with other business, this grab and go place has some really delicious bread and cookies. Their cookies are a little more on denser bigger side, kind of like Levain style cookies except with more filling in the middle if you get a stuffed Ollie and not quite the crispy bottom that Levain bakery cookies achieve. I got their classic chocolate chip cookie, which was good and for being such a big cookie filled with chocolate chips I am glad it wasn’t overly sweet though you can definitely split one cookie with two people. I also got the Banana Nutella cookie which reminds me if banana bread decided it wanted to make a little sandwich with Nutella in the middle and then shaped in cookie form. It’s more of a doughy cookie than chewy or crispy cookie. We also got the chocolate peanut butter cookie and you better love peanut butter because the peanut butter is strong, but delicious. We also got the wheat sourdough loaf and the crust on it is incredible and I loved that they do the fancy markings on top to like one the bread/steam to escape (I should know what it’s called but I never got into my sourdough era). Even for being made with wheat four and having blend of seeds, I did not find it too overwhelming and found it delicious to make a grilled cheese and loved that even though it’s healthy it didn’t taste overly grainy or overly “healthy” if that makes sense. It had a really great crust and interior and some nice little bubbles. I also got the avocado, egg, and cheese burridough which I thought it was ok - I wish there was more filling, I found that the bread to filling ratio was more bread than filling, and wish the filling had more salt/flavor. I am glad it came with mild salsa to dip it in to give it that extra kick/salt it needed. Probably my least favorite out of everything I tried. Parking lot wise they have a very small lot shared with other businesses. Don’t park at the convienient store next door. There is also street parking. There is no eating inside, but they do have a small bench outside (unshaded) if you want to enjoy the treats right then and there.

Super cute bakery and coffee shop! I recommend the kolaches, I got a ham and cheese one and it was really delicious with crispy cheese on the outside and everything! One warning to people who go here, nothing against this bakery, but be careful where you park because there is a boot and towing person on site who will target you the minute you leave your car if you are not careful. I had to pay $100 in cash after leaving my car unattended for 3 minutes

Great little bakery. We got coffee and cookies - tried the chocolate chip, the PBJ, and the banana nutella. The coffee was great as were the cookies. The cookies in order of how we liked them: banana, PBJ, and chocolate. The chocolate chip was a bit more doughy than the others so there might have been a baking issue with those but the flavor was spot on

If you’re anywhere near Thoroughbread, do yourself a favor and GO. This adorable little breakfast spot near our Airbnb had us hooked from the first bite. The drip coffee? Perfectly smooth. But the real star of the show? The “dough-rito”…a dreamy, doughy, gooey, egg-filled burrito that’s basically breakfast perfection wrapped up and ready to make your day. We got there just after they opened, and it was already buzzing with happy customers (always a good sign!). The staff? Absolutely lovely-super friendly and welcoming. We’re already planning a second visit before the trip’s over. Thoroughbread is a must-try!

Mi Tradición is a Mexican bakery and cafe that immerses visitors in the vibrant culture of Mexico with its colorful walls and rustic furniture. Upon entering, guests are greeted with the traditional practice of selecting their desired sweets from trays using tongs. The owners, originally from Puebla, Mexico, have expanded their offerings to include not only a variety of bread but also authentic Mexican street-food staples like tacos al pastor and tlacoyos at their adjacent taco and torta eatery.
My family and I have only been to this place twice, and both times it felt like we were on vacation in Mexico. And I mean that in the best way possible. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The guests are mostly native Mexicans (always a good sign). The food is about as authentic Mexican as you can get. The variety of postres (desserts) is over the top, from pan dulces, to flan, to different tres leches cakes). If you're looking for little Mexico in the heart of Austin Texas, La Tradicíon is a must to try.

This place feels very authentic to me from the freshly baked pastries, warm churros, breads and more come directly from the ovens in the back. We can see so many bakers working in the back working from scratch, not the typical frozen pre-made stuff of other bakeries. Our tasty bread literally came from the oven :20 seconds before it ended in our bag, nothing fresher and better. What’s even better are the prices, so affordable. Skip your trendy shop and buy from an authentic place.

From the freshly made food, the menu offers plenty to enjoy. Although my cheeseburger wasn't as flavorful and was quite bland. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, with colorful decor that adds to the cultural experience, though it can occasionally feel a bit crowded and slightly messy. But. They really shine in its service, The staff is friendly and quite quick, even during top hours. Great place for food and pastries. We ordered a few items from the menu that are made in the moment. The order takers are friendly and the guys who are giving out the food are cool. My only concern is why they don’t add any sour cream to the torta? Everything was good but the milanesa torta was made with lettuce tomato and milanesa, that was flavorless. The aguas frescas are delicious.

I visited Mi Tradicion in search of freshly made pastries, specifically for concha. The bakery had a wide variety of bakery items as a self-serve style such as concha, cookies, muffins, danishes and other sweets. I purchased a concha, a cookie and what appeared to be a chocolate covered concha. The conchas were not very fresh to be honest, although plenty of items were stocked throughout the evening. I enjoyed the cookie though, it was a thicker, soft cookie and had a good vanilla flavour. I visited during the evening so this may have had an impact on freshness or quality. The bakery itself didn't provide any parchment paper liners or sheets to place inside the metal trays while picking out your items, so this may have been a sanitary concern of mine. Other than that, the bakery seemed clean, although a little outdated in terms of the building itself. Thank you
Melody — Google review
I stopped by during work to buy some churros, and even though I only got five, they were so dry and hard that I couldn’t even bite into them. I’ve bought bread from here before and the quality was always great, but this time I was really disappointed. I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back or recommending this place if the quality of the bread has declined this much.
Eunice J — Google review
I went today for lunch because this place is hidden, but with so many social networks putting this place on. There is nothing over the top about this place, as I bought Neapolitan cake and a huarache shepherd. These two items were very filling, and the blue corn tortilla was the first time I tried it, and it was amazing! The staff is amazing after placing the order it was ready within minutes. Season well, and the ingredients will be fresh. The bakery part was huge as I couldn't leave without buying something, the bread and sweets were wonderful. This panadería is larger than what I've seen in Austin for a while and reminds me of childhood outings and going to a panadería after church. Love this place

I can't even express the gratitude I feel for this place! Lillian is a stellar employee. I traveled from Amarillo to Austin. It was the worst trip and everything that could go wrong. Then my phone completely died 4 hours outside of Austin, and I couldn't get it to charge. I was extremely lost, disheveled and having a panic attack. I have Autism and I was beside myself in tears. Lillian took almost 30 minutes in between her busy days to talk me through. She used her tablet to help find my hotel, which I couldn't even remember the name in my state, write down step by step instructions, and guided me safe there. All i knew was half the hotel name and half an address. I can't express the gratitude I felt for her and Haley's cookies. I came back today to grab a coffee and cupcake because of her, which were amazing. The ladies, Victoria and Sara, that were here today were just as equally wonderful, This place is an asset to keeping Austin weird but also wondeful!!! Ty!

I was worried about the cookie cakes being dry or communication being sparse based on some reviews, but Felicia at this location was very prompt to respond and our two cookie cakes turned out amazing AND delicious! All the kids at my son’s birthday party raved about how it was the best cookie cake they’ve ever had in their life (given these are little kids, they probably haven’t had too many cookie cakes in their life time, but when I tried it myself, I instantly believed them and agreed!). The cookie cakes were moist, chewy, and delicious and not overly sweet. I wasn’t expecting much because I mean how good can a cookie cake be, but it was up there with some of the best cookies I’ve had. And the design was spot on! Well done, Haley’s Cakes and Cookies!

I ordered myself a cake for my birthday. They were so easy to find when I typed in "Vintage Heart Cakes" on google. Even better, they had pictures and pricing on their website! The website allowed me to pick colors for my cake and there was a spot for me to type in more clarifying details I wanted for my cake. After that all I had to do was choose a pickup date/time and click "order" and pay! It was so easy! The week of my birthday I decided I wanted a different color for my cake, I emailed them about 5 or 6 days before pick up and they were so quick in getting back to me on my color choices and told me it wouldn't be a problem at all. I had my husband pick up the cake for me and they gave him a cookie while he waited! The vintage heart cake was everything I had wanted AND more because they added even more detail than I anticipated on the top of the cake. I was so pleased with the cake; it's the prettiest thing ever and I held it up in so many of my photos with friends at my party. Everybody loved it and we enjoyed it later that evening with a small group (about 10-12 people). I ordered a small vintage heart strawberry cake which came with a strawberry jam filling; it was delicious and moist! 10/10 cake on ease of ordering, easy pickup, beautiful decoration, and great taste! Would love to order from them again in the future. Thank you for making a 36th birthday girl so happy!

Tiny Pies is a locally-owned gem that has been capturing the essence of nostalgic pie memories since 2011. Baked fresh daily with natural ingredients, these individually sized pies come in both sweet and savory flavors, all encased in a signature crust made from European butter. Whether it's the seasonal banana cream or classic Texas pecan, these little treats pack a punch in flavor and texture. Don't worry if you can't get enough - they also offer full-sized pies.
As someone who loves pies and really only wants a small portion, this dessert shop got it right by selling personable sized pies. We got there a bit later in the day where there were slim pickings but they were delicious! Make sure you ask for them to be warmed up!

We ended up getting the pecan pie and coconut cream pie. I would 100% recommend the coconut cream pie... But I would not recommend the pecan pie. This is tough for me to say because I'm a huge pecan pie fan and I thought it would be my favourite without question. Unfortunately the crust was dry, although the flavour was pretty good. The flavour didn't make up for the crust though. The coconut cream pie was perfect. My partner decided on the coconut cream pie and we shared half & half. It wouldn't have been my 2nd choice if I was eating there by myself. I'm really glad I tried it! If I had just tried the pecan pie, I think my food rating would have been 2/5. Because of the coconut cream pie, it bumped it up to a 4/5. Would visit them again and try some different pies!

Tiny Pies - A Stellar Treat! 5 out of 5 stars Tiny Pies stole my heart (and satisfied my sweet tooth)! I recently tried their Chocolate Eclipse Pie - perfect for the upcoming eclipse - and it was absolutely delicious. The graham cracker crust was buttery and flavorful, the marshmallow filling was gooey and delightful, and the dark chocolate coating added a rich touch. It was like a mini planet of deliciousness in my mouth! Beyond the limited edition pie, I also indulged in their classic flavors - the key lime and lemon meringue. Both were fantastic! The key lime had a perfect balance of tart and sweet, and the lemon meringue was light and fluffy with a perfectly toasted meringue topping. Overall, Tiny Pies impressed me with their delicious flavors, high-quality ingredients, and adorable size. They're perfect for a quick sweet treat or a unique dessert to share. I can't wait to try their other flavors next time! Highly recommend!

I stopped by Tiny Pies for the introduction of their new Pie Freeze. The staff was super kind and attentive even though they were busy and the Pie Freeze was even more delicious than expected!! It tasted homemade, so so good. I will be stopping by after visits to the movies at Alamo Drafthouse!

I recently visited this pie shop and was impressed with their selection. They offer both pre-made and raw pies. I tried the lemon pie and loved the filling. The pie crust had a texture that was a mix of crumbly and sandy. You can visit this shop to find a delicious treat.
Katherine M — Google review
Delicious, fresh and just the right size portion to enjoy a decadent, sweet treat. The pumpkin and cherry pies were excellent and enjoyed as individually sized desserts. They make a nice gift for a dinner host too.
Elva A — Google review
Update: After speaking with management they refunded my original purchase and provided me with some new pies for free. The pie filling was still good, the crust still wasn’t that great. Cherry pie was my favorite. The flavors I had ordered weren’t the ones I received. Overall, it’s nice that management cares about their customers, so I raised my score from 1 to 3. Original: First time trying these pies and super disappointed. The crust was SOO hard/over cooked. I went in the afternoon so I’m not sure if they were old or I was just unlucky with getting super hard and over cooked pie crust. The fillings were pretty tasty but I feel like I wasted 40 dollars at this place.
Amethystjaded N — Google review
Picked up some pies the other day to take to a dinner and we got there about 40 minutes before closing time. There was still a good amount pies available for us to purchase. I thought the price of over $4 a tiny pie was a little steep but they definitely were delicious. I'm not a huge pie fanatic so my favorite was the Vegan Berry of all the ones we tried (Key lime, Lemon meringue, vegan berry and peach crumble). I also noticed that when we walked in, the room smelled like cigarettes and then soon after walking in, the staff member that was there to help us wasn't incredibly friendly.

Rocheli Patisserie is a charming French bakery and coffee shop located in East Austin, known for its Instagram-worthy interior featuring a neon Bonjour Austin sign, faux flowers, and Parisian cafe-style tables and chairs. The bakery offers an array of classic French desserts such as specialty croissants, eclairs, macarons in various colors and flavors, seasonal cupcakes, and beautifully adorned tarts. It has been recognized in Forbes 30 Under 30 for its unique offerings.
Great deserts with great service in a cutesy place. Idk what deserts prices are supposed to be but I was good with it. I like the little station for extra cutlery, coco powder, and other options. I parked right outside but I saw there was more parking outback so I wouldn't believe there is a bad parking situation.

I went to check this place out after seeing posts about it online. The Dubai coffee wasn’t my favorite as it was too sweet for me and tasted more like a dessert than coffee. The desserts, on the other hand, were great. I had the Flight to Paris and the croissant supreme. I would definitely order both again. The croissant supreme is like a crème brûlée croissant with a custard filling and a crunchy caramelized sugar coating. I’d honestly come back just for that. The shop itself is super cute. I love the pink heart-shaped straws they use. Service was quick and easy. My friend and I noticed they also offer afternoon tea, but you have to make a reservation in advance. It’s a great spot to catch up with a friend or get some work done and the location is also close to a lot of nice spots in the area. Street parking can be a little tough to find, but I’ve never had a problem.

Underwhelming for astronomical prices. Dry croissant dessert & the pear mousse had no flavor or pear ? Just cream. Cute idea & nice staff, but they would benefit from vamping up their unique offerings.

Religieuse was good and fresh. However the tiramisu was dry and not fresh, probably too old... kinda sad because I'm sure it would have been delicious otherwise.

I’m not the type to leave a review but no this is crazy a hair in my mousse cake I’m never eating here again. First n foremost I was supposed to pick up my order this past Thursday I couldn’t go bc I was feeling unwell I tried calling them no answer. so I went the next day ( Friday ) to pick up. Mind you they don’t write on your receipt or before hand of ordering that you need to pick up that same day. ( keep in mind I told the lady I tried calling them and they didn’t answer she says they were packed with customers… it’s going to be packed on a Thursday?!? I’d believe Friday but the place was empty Friday.) I go the next day and the lady says I need to reschedule bc they don’t want to sell me 5 day old products “ what do you mean 5 day old product only 1 day has passed for it to even be considered 5 days old . so we are getting charged 64 for products that are days old this is crazy mind you I asked her so yall are selling products that are 5 days old she says yes and proceeds to say I have to reschedule for Sunday i told her my order shouldn’t be 5 days old when I pick up Sunday I want my order fresh for the price I’m paying. I pick up today & a hair this is nasty never coming back waste of money overhyped.

We went by to grab some treats for my birthday and we left with tons of delicious treats. They’re known for their tres leches cakes which were very good. I’m not a connoisseur on all things tres leches, but I thought it was great. We also left with some delicious cookies (nice and large for sharing) , savory empanadas, flaky croissant and other baked goodies, and some amazing biscuits! This was my first time going and we liked it so much we ordered a German chocolate cake for my birthday at their South 1st location that was phenomenal. We will definitely be going here on the regular. The staff was so amazing and kind. SO GOOD.

A small bakery right on the corner of S Lamar and 12th. I went there for coffee even though google map didn't show the place. Surprisingly they have latte, cappuccino and many other espresso options along with teas. Staffs are so friendly and they offer free Wi-Fi, a decent spot to enjoy your leisure time or work.

Went on a whim and stopped here before leaving atx... AHMAZZZING! the staff is beyond words and so patient. When walking in there is a seated section to the left hand side, shelves and a table to purchase last second goodies for any occasion. Indoor seating is limited to 30 minutes. There is cute outdoor seating as well, perfect for a latte and bakery item! There are so many things to choose from, don't be shy, definitely enough here to please the whole family or loved one! Ample parking around the rear/side or simply walk up during your venture.

Best bakery experience! I called a couple places asking for quotes and was immediately impressed when Amy called and took me through this long list of questions. She wanted to be sure everything was understood and I appreciate that. When I picked up the cake, there was a little discrepancy between the nakedness of the photo and cake, but she was able to coordinate with staff to get it perfected within a few hours that worked for me, and the cake went over amazing at the party. What I really loved was how attentive everyone was, from placing the order, to paying for then picking up the cake. It was a great experience and one I'd be happy to go back to again!

I absolutely love this bakery! I have been trying different bakeries around town while visiting Austin, and this is by far my favorite. The blackberry cruffin and peach handheld pie were amazing! I will definitely come back before I go back to Florida.

All I've had so far is ham and cheese crossiant and sour cream cake. AMAZING. Definitely a place to try at least once but you'll keep coming back. Half priced last 30 minutes of what they have it left. It's so good for lunch specials as well. Had pulled pork sliders with jalapeno and pineapple slaw. So good!

Ordered a 48 pack for our office and everyone LOVED them! The are so delicious and beautiful. The Cookie Rich team is so accommodating. Will be back!

I am an AVID cookie lover and when I saw how unique these cookies were I knew I needed to try them. My ideal cookie is soft and a little chewy. I was a little skeptical about the texture before I tried Cookie Rich for the first time because I couldn’t fathom a cookie in this shape and form to be soft- but I was PLEASANTLY surprised! I’m dying to go back and try all of the flavors. The icing in the middle truly elevated the flavor and overall experience too. Love you cookie rich, thanks for being in Austin!
Maggie P — Google review
Wow, these cookies are so bad. I saw an influencer post about cookie rich and then accidentally stumbled across this cute little truck when dining at Veracruz. Don’t let the menu (and influencers) fool you. These cookies are shockingly small for the price but also so, so bad. They are clearly a frozen product and were hard as a rock and still cold in the middle of the cookie when we received them. Don’t come here. Order from Veracruz and then go anywhere else for dessert. Anywhere.
Natalie B — Google review
A little disappointed. It’s cute packaging, but I think that’s exactly what you are paying for. The idea of luxury cookies. They were okay. Red velvet was dry. Frosting is rich. The chocolate chip and dark chocolate fudge was very good. The birthday and sprinkle cream cheese was enjoyable, but nothing to wow about. The carrot cake tasted more like cookie dough, than cake. Overall, it was enjoyable but not worth the price. Would make a cute gift.
K M — Google review
One word: YUM! These cute little cookies are absolutely delicious without being overly sweet! Every cookie flavor I had: Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream, Oatmeal, and Turtle, were all so enjoyable. Each filling flavor perfectly compliments the cookie. My husband who rarely eats sweets said I should’ve gotten more. The lady working there was very sweet and provided professional customer service. Thank you; we will be back!
Stella C — Google review
Received the red velvet cookies from Cookie Rich for my birthday! My mom lives long distance and couldn’t be here for my birthday yet wanted me to have some sort of sweets from her. She purchased these on GoldBelly and they were shipped to my door step in Corpus Christi. I was satisfied with their fast shipping and awesome packaging! Those cookies were very secure in their box, topped with thick and tight foam padding and ice packs. The cookies had no way to slide around and get damaged in the box as everything was tight fitting. Cookies arrived cold although they were shipped through this blistering summer heat in Texas. We are very impressed. I can’t wait to go back up to Austin because I’ll give this shop a visit in person. The cookies were delicious, by the way. The shapes are super cute and unique. The cream cheese middle was very creamy and sweet. The cookies are very chewy. I can’t wait to try other flavors next time

I received an assorted dozen for my birthday and WOW they are so good. Some might say the size is too small but straight up is the perfect amount for someone who isn’t needing too much for desert. The flavors are delicious and they offer such a good variety. Will highly recommend to friends, coworkers, and family!

If you're on the hunt for a delicious pizza experience, look no further than Marco's Pizza! This beloved counter-serve chain has been delighting taste buds since 1973, offering a diverse menu of specialty and custom pizzas perfect for takeout or delivery. With roots in Austin, Marco's Pizza combines fresh ingredients with mouthwatering flavors that keep customers coming back for more.
Holy pepperoni! I ordered the Pepperoni Magnifico, and it was fantastic. There’s garlic butter and Parmesan cheese all over the crust and was a great combination of different types of pepperoni. It’s cheesy and the crust had a great chew to it. Also, this location is perfect for a quick pickup. It’s in the 5610 food co and was super simple to order. Highly recommend.
Sean C — Google review
Ok, so we love Marcos pizza, just not this location. The delivery was fast but the pizza was not cooked all the way. Very doughy.(Had to put it in the oven to finish it. The cheesy bread had no breaks or cuts to tear it off and was doughy as well. We tried to call them back and no one answers. We called another location and they were able to tell us that the Marcos we ordered from is not a franchised Marcos. We love Marcos pizza but definitely never this one again
Aiona K — Google review
Best Pizza in Austin! The Pizzoli is a work or art. I can eat that every day for the rest of my life. Everything is fresh ingredients which is the main standout compared to other pizza joints. You can tell right away all the ingredients are top notch. I will be coming back weekly!
Sota M — Google review
I just had an incredibly frustrating experience at Marco’s Pizza. My order took 30 minutes longer than they said it would - which is already bad enough when you're picking up a large order. But what really pushed it over the edge was how they handled something as small as Parmesan cheese. I ordered five pizzas and cheese sticks, and they gave me only four tiny packets of Parmesan. When I asked for more, they told me they couldn't give me any because it costs extra and I should have added it to my order. I've never been charged for Parmesan at any other Marco’s location, and honestly, it's ridiculous to argue over a few packets of cheese when I’ve just spent a decent amount of money. Then, to top it off, they said next time they’d charge me. There won’t be a next time. This whole experience was disappointing, annoying, and showed a complete lack of customer service.
Ariel T — Google review
HORRIBLE DELIVERY EXPERIENCE! How is it possible that no information matches up on their website and when you order. I waited over an hour for their third party to pick up my pizza and the location didn’t exist! and the manager was no help at all! This address it Forced drivers to use doesn’t exist at all! Now I have to wait 7 days for my money and I’m starving. Never ordering again, terrible staff.
Zachary M — Google review
NOT A MARCO'S! I thought it would be nice to have a Marco's that delivered to my neighborhood but this isn't a Marco's, its a pop up kitchen. You can't call them and they don't even have THEIR OWN ADDRESS right so when Doordash people go to pickup the food they can't find a Marco's because it sent them to the other side of town. I ended up driving to the pop up kitchen to pick up my own cold pizza. This location is garbage and whoever okay'd this at Marco's corporate office should be fired.

I went close to closing on Sunday as I passed by this place every day home from work, as previously I had some issues finding this place hours and even their Google info. But I would usually forget to look them up or stop by. As I got what they had left from the fruity pebbles cupcakes and cinnamon toast crunch as well the vanilla cupcakes, then sugar cookies also m&ms chocolate chip cookies. The guy there was really welcoming as he waited patience for me to make up my mind as well, giving me a little history about the business and how it started. The cookies were amazing, and the cupcakes only got to try one, but my friends all loved them, and im definitely curious to go next alot earlier to see what they have.

We got our four year old a birthday cake here and they went above and beyond on the design and worked magic with buttercream.
Charles H — Google review
Tried this place after seeing them on Instagram. I'd consider this the kind of place that you should go to if you want a birthday cake for your child or cupcakes for your kid's soccer team, but not if you want a once-a-week indulgence or are planning a fancy party for your spouse. Pros: Lovely service (friendly and responsive), cute cupcake/cookie/cake decorations (I'd say that the decorations are this place's biggest strength, with bright colors and cute piped details), and very reasonable prices. The texture of each cupcake that I got (four) was nice and fluffy and overall pleasant. Also, the vibe is nice. Cons: I visited a week after Father's Day, and there were still Father's Day cookies out for sale, meaning they were displaying and selling cookies that had to be at least a week old. I sampled four different cupcakes, and each one had frosting that I'd swear tastes exactly like grocery store frosting, a cake that tastes like doctored box mix, and there seemed to only be a bare hint of the advertised flavors. (Tried strawberry, chocolate, lemon/lime coconut, and vanilla buttercream.) I'm assuming that the baker isn't actually buying grocery store frosting and box mix, so I'm guessing the issue is that there are similar ratios of sugar and slightly chemical-tasting stabilizers used as in the grocery stuff. That's a guess, though, since I don't know all the ingredients they use. So yeah, I'd say that this is a place to go for cute, colorful cakes and cupcakes for the kiddos with fun decorations. Something to make your kid feel really special without breaking the budget. But I wouldn't recommend this as an adult's indulgence spot.
