Diner
Breakfast restaurant
24 Diner is a popular spot that offers a unique upscale diner experience, serving farm-to-table comfort food and an extensive selection of wines, cocktails, and beers. Chef Andrew Curren creates delicious dishes using locally sourced vegetables and meats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Despite its popularity leading to queues at times, visitors can explore nearby attractions while waiting for a table. The restaurant's inviting mid-century modern atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience.
Decided to make a pit stop for lunch so did a quick google search and decided on this place! Super cute atmosphere! The staff was excellent! It’s a little pricier than your normal diner but the food holds up to its price. If you wanna save same money I recommend you go during the happy hour which starts at 3. We got the chili cheese fries and Mac and cheese bites at $7 happy hour price! The Mac and cheese can use a little more cheese but the crisp and homemade ranch were perfect! The chili has a nice spicy kick to it, fries were really good. My daughter got the chicken and waffles, chicken could use some salt/pepper but it was really good other than that. Also had the 24 diner hash which did not disappoint. Had a great bacon/onion/potato ratio. Overall it was really good.

great experience—almost perfect. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and quick. Our food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. We decided to take dessert to go, opting for the tres leches cake and the buttermilk pie. Unfortunately, this part of the experience was disappointing. While enjoying the desserts at home, we discovered a hair woven into the whipped cream. It really took away from what had otherwise been a great meal and left us feeling a bit let down. I’d still recommend the diner for its tasty food, efficient service, and great coffee—but I hope they take a closer look at quality control.

This place has potential. Food is really good. Chicken waffle, French toast, chicken fried chicken. Everything was really good, couldn't be better. But the place itself is not it. Restaurant is run down, from paint to the seat cushions. Maybe just order to go.
Max R — Google review
The food was amazing, I had the wagyu steak entree and my mom had the cheeseburger. The wagyu was perfectly cooked to medium as I requested, as well as my mom’s burger cooked to medium well. The server was kind, straight to the point, and quick. The food came after what felt like 5 minutes, and it was fantastic. My mom said it was the best burger she ever had in her life. The music was nice and chill, place isn’t very loud, nice atmosphere. I like the interior style a lot! Wagyu was amazing, 10/10 recommend you to come here, worth every penny!
Ben A — Google review
I ordered the small chicken and waffle, which to my surprise was actually pretty big. You can choose between dark or white meat. I code dark, it was crispy and juicy. The waffle was fluffy. It wasn't busy when my friends and I got there, so we were able to get our food pretty fast. Our waitress was awesome, but the other guy seemed to have a bad attitude while we were there on Oct 22, and gave us some weird looks. But nonetheless, the food was awesome.
Francee A — Google review
Ordered 2 items: patty melt & chicken & waffles. The chicken and waffles were ok. The waffles had an inconsistent taste, and the chicken had areas that were charred/burnt. Furthermore, the patty melt burger patty was too rare/not cooked enough. It was not a pleasant experience, but service was good.
Zoe L — Google review
First was the service which wasn’t horrible but definitely wasn’t good. Especially since there was no one there youd think it wouldn’t be that hard to go a little extra. But that wasn’t the worst part. Next was the food. Not only was it 20$ for a patty melt but it was cold, raw, bland. And there was a lot of raw spots on my patty. The fries were also pretty mediocre, a lot weren’t even eatable since they were fried to a crisp. Unfortunately I can only speak for myself and not my friends that were with me but they also did not enjoy there meal and had other issues. Also if you wanted to watch sports games, they only got one tv.
Aiden D — Google review
The waiter and the staff were very kind and attentive, they even gave us a rose when leaving; however, the food was expensive and not that good. The biscuits were very tough, the cream cheese for the bagel was weird tasting too, but the sausage was good however. Overall not worth the money, and the portions sizes for the chicken biscuit was smaller than expected for how much they charged.

Brunch restaurant
Cafe
Forthright Cafe is a charming New American cafe located near Lady Bird Lake, offering a delightful array of daytime favorites and an extensive drink menu. The cafe's ambiance is carefully curated to enhance the dining experience, with adjustable lighting, controlled humidity, and soothing music creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu features both classic and unconventional dishes, such as quinoa porridge and a hearty waffle sandwich filled with cheese, eggs, bacon, and syrup.
Nice breakfast spot. Decently priced dishes, good drink options. We had chicken/waffles (which has debone dark meat), pork belly Benedict, breakfast burrito, and French toast. Service was decent. Our server relied on the handheld order input more than what we actually ordered. Several things came out wrong and one thing never made it to the table, but everything was excellent. Highly recommend for a nice breakfast spot.
Gordon D — Google review
We’ve been here several times, and the food is always fantastic! Whether it’s the refreshing açaí bowl or the hearty brunch burger, everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, which really added to the experience. Unfortunately, the owner/ manager had a bit of an attitude and wasn’t very welcoming, which took away from the overall vibe. Otherwise, this would easily be a 5-star spot.
Christopher E — Google review
The food was delicious, the best French toast I’ve ever had! The B&G was kinda bland, but the mimosa made up for that! Spicy Bloody Mary was good too! If you’re in the area check it out! They can accommodate large groups.
Tancy G — Google review
We chose Forthright due to some good reviews based on brunch spots in downtown Austin. It did not disappoint. The signage is not the best and it’s off the beaten path, but it’s worth finding this gem. The host and servers were courteous and eager to help. The food came out quickly and all of our orders were correct. When asking for hot sauce for my potatoes, I received a suggestion for salsa. They brought 2 salsas and hot sauce to the table. The food was delicious and fresh. The prices were reasonable as we escaped with a $62 bill for four people and water to drink. The pork belly and poached eggs were excellent. Full of flavor and a cooked to perfection. The avocado toast was ideal for my wife who wanted something light and healthy. And the breakfast burger and burrito were enough to fill my teenage kids. Well done on all accounts.
Silas S — Google review
Off the beaten path and definitely worth it. Food was delicious, and the service was excellent. My Bloody Mary was very good (add the bacon) and the water was very cold and tasted great (I’m kind of a water snob). I go the avocado toast, loooved the greens on the side! My husband got to pork belly benedict. Very reasonably priced. We will be back!
Brie B — Google review
This would have been a five star review, but for one important fact, my table was sticky. Otherwise it was a delightful breakfast. I had a great cup of black coffee and the Pork Belly Benedict, which was delicious. The staff was attentive and service prompt on this Saturday morning.
Brian D — Google review
Seated immediately on a Saturday morning by a friendly hostess. Sat inside, although they have a charming patio with lots of shade trees. The interior dining room was modern and well designed. Restaurant was full of happy customers. Food was delicious! Only reason for four stars is the tables were very sticky and unfortunately a fly found its way to our area and was annoying us during the meal. Not the restaurant's fault I suppose.
Dillon J — Google review
We had a great experience here at Forthright Cafe! From the get go we were well taken care of. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze and it wasn't too loud from the traffic on the street either. We both couldn't pass up the chicken & waffles and so glad we didn't. It was yummy but could've been better. The chicken was a little burnt and didn't have that great of flavor/seasoning and the waffle was thinner than expected but overall it was good! The fresh lemonade was delicious & my friend tried the lavender chai and enjoyed that too! We would definitely go back and try the avocado toast!

Chicken restaurant
Bar
Lucy's Fried Chicken is a popular spot in Austin, known for its upscale take on Southern comfort food. The restaurant is housed in a refurbished old building and features oversized patios with great views of Lake Travis. With multiple locations across the city, Lucy's has been serving up Southern-fried favorites for over ten years. Guests can enjoy made-from-scratch sides and fresh cocktails, including their signature Front Porch Tea.
We had Lucy’s Fried Chicken cater our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice! The food was absolutely delicious—so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The fried chicken, sides, and everything else were cooked to perfection. The service was also top-notch. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly, making sure everything went smoothly. They took care of the chair setup for the ceremony and the table settings, and it exceeded my expectations. They truly helped make our day memorable, and we’re so grateful for their hard work. We highly recommend Lucy’s Fried Chicken for any event!
Micah L — Google review
I was super excited to come try this place. We started w/the oysters and the fried deviled eggs. They were okay. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and he said it was okay, but not the best he’s had. My daughter ordered the Chicken Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. Her boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak and l loved it. I had the chicken tenders and waffles. Personally for me the chicken lacked flavor and the waffles were pretty hard and dry, despite a beautiful presentation. We also ordered the S’Mores pie and banana pudding. The chocolate s’mores was way too sweet and rich for my taste, but my daughter and her boyfriend liked it. My hubby and I shared the banana pudding, it looked amazing and delicious, but it had no sweet taste at all. So one was too sweet and one lacked flavor. The overall atmosphere is nostalgic and tucked away from the busy street. Our server was excellent.
Matilda C — Google review
If you are ever in south Austin, stop in and eat at Lucy's Fried Chicken. It has a laid-back atmosphere and delicious food. We tried the deep-fried deviled eggs, chicken and waffles, and the drunk catfish sandwich. All were excellent choices. The catfish filet on the sandwich was enough for two sandwiches. It was seasoned perfectly and fried crisp. Chicken and waffles were a hit with delicious tenders and two great-tasting waffles with honey butter.
Mike H — Google review
Multiple items on the menu are amazing. I’ve come here a bunch of times before, but never left a review. Today I ordered the Kinky Club and I absolutely loved it. It’s a large sandwich with a side of kettle chips, which I switched for fries. I could only eat about half of the food, but I’m looking forward to finishing it up tomorrow for lunch.
Elizabeth F — Google review
This was our first timehere and Lucy's did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken and waffles and they were delicious. The waffles were the perfect amount of chewy and crunchy. The chicken was very flavorful. My other only wish is that I had some real maple syrup to go along with this culinary delight. Instead I received a packet of syrup sauce. I ate my waffles dry after my first bite with the sauce was disappointing. Still the meal was good. The cocktails were great and the service was awesome.
Margarita W — Google review
Order -Bucket of Chicken (3 out of 5) - chicken sandwich ( 5 out of 5) - onion rings ( 3 out 5 ) salty - fries (4 out 5) - cornbread ( 4.5 out 5) Service was good only the server dropped tea on me and did not apologize but besides that it was good. The bathroom was discussing pee everywhere and was nasty, making me want to throw up after eating there. The restaurant outside smells bad and needs to be cleaned, I guess for Austin is ok standards-wise, would I go back probably not. Even though they had a good pecan pie.
Mex P — Google review
We've been regulars at Lucy's for years now, it has never disappointed. If anything, it has gotten better. First of all, the chicken is phenomenal. The crust is just the right amount of crispy. We always get a bucket even if it is just the two of us. Cold or warmed up leftovers is just fine for us. We are true aficionados of the finest fried chicken. Now, that is just the beginning. Where Lucy's truly excels is in the side offerings. Of course they have a wonderful fried okra, but it's even better when it is paired with the coleslaw. Lastly, if you have any room left for dessert? Just do it. Remember, you can always take it home if you can't finish. Either way, you win!
K. R — Google review
Lucy’s catering did a phenomenal job at our October 2024 wedding!!! They handled all the setup and breakdown and did everything perfectly and with efficiency. Not to mention they are very competitively priced versus other full service caterers in the Austin area. Cristina was so sweet and easy to work with leading up to our day! She was extremely communicative and patient even when I had a million questions/ menu changes. Most importantly - the food was absolutely spectacular. People still make a point to tell us how amazing the food was and multiple professional chefs who were our guests told me it was “the best wedding food they’ve ever had.” The grilled vegetables were a stand out as well! My husband and I are both foodies but still wanted to honor our Texas roots at our wedding. They helped us craft a menu that was both upscale and true to us. Going to oyster bars and attending oyster tastings was a big part of our dating life and we really wanted to incorporate that at our wedding - which is ultimately why we went with Lucy’s. We had the raw oyster bar for cocktail hour and our guests adored it and we also heard multiple compliments about the shucker on staff. 10/10 highly recommend Lucy’s for your wedding or event!

Soul food restaurant
The Rolling Rooster is a casual eatery and bar that offers a menu featuring chicken and waffles, fish, and Southern sides. It's known for its own version of hot wings and is considered the go-to place for satisfying cravings for big southern-style plates. The restaurant also serves fried pickles, gizzards, and other soul food options. Customers praise the excellent customer service, drinks, and family-friendly atmosphere.
The food was sooo good! Even though I received syrup, I did not need it. The waffle had so much flavor. The chicken was seasoned to perfection!! Service was quick so no waiting. Definitely go by if you in the area.
Cammi G — Google review
This place was really well put together and had a great chill vibe when we arrived. Our server was nice and polite and took care of us and our unique needs. The food was cool to order which took a bit, but I don't mind waiting for hot food. And the plates were well put together and offered a good amount for the price. We ordered fish and wings, Mac and cheese, okra, rice and gravy along with some fried pickles. The pickles would slip out of the batter, but had a good flavor. Mac had a good flavor to it as well, with heavy pepper (for those picky eaters to beware!) rice and gravy had a amazing taste and was cooked to perfect. Chicken had a excellent crunch and flavor and size. Fish was very thinly sliced, could've had a tad more crunch to it in my opinion, but the flavor was good. Tarter sauce was good as well. Each plate was offered one slice of warm bread to go with the meal. Their cool aid is what you should order! It was chef's kiss to perfection! Food was about $25-$20 with a high priced drinks of over $3! We spent about $80 for our meal of 3.
Brenda T — Google review
The tenders, fries and chicken wings tasted like it was cooked it old grease and had a slightly burnt appearance. The chicken lacked flavor, likely due to the old grease they fried it in. However, they were crispy. The condiments might’ve helped but everything was off brand (ketchup & ranch). The macaroni…I feel like it was stove top and not oven baked. It tasted very bland and was barely sprinkled/cooked with any cheese. The yams were super mushy and sweet…not sure if they were canned or fresh. I also had shrimp that the menu said was large but they were extremely small. Overall, the food was not worth the price. BUT on high note, the customer service was great. The ladies who helped me were super sweet & helpful. The atmosphere seemed cool too….they had a DJ in there. I went at night.
K D — Google review
First time here and had an AMAZING meal! The chicken is hands down some of the best I've had in town, fried okra was also seasoned excellently! Hubs had the chicken and waffle and he really enjoyed the waffle,, which can be lackluster at other spots serving the same dish. Looking forward to our next time eating here!! 💜✨️
Teresa M — Google review
The Rolling Rooster has good fried shrimp. The mac and cheese was to really good and I would recommend as a must try. The service was great. Unfortunately the table that we were going to be sat at was dirty and the host cleaned it for us by wiping it down. He did forget to dry it, but grateful it was cleaned. (I dried it myself with napkins). The waitress was friendly and helpful. They offer Happy Hour but I did not try any alcoholic beverages this time. The tables seem like they need an overhaul, a tad too tall and wobbly from wear and tear. But overall would definitely say give this place a try and of course order the mac and cheese!
Fallon B — Google review
We had the fried fish and chicken wings i wasn't disappointed at all with the food very tasty only thingi wish the fish had more meat they cut it really thin...the waitress would've gotten more tip if the restaurant didn't automatically add the tip to our ticket for only two people...so we gave the waitress what they ask for $8 What happened to adding tip to the ticket with 5 or more seated? This is why I gave 3 stars Just trying to show support for our black own businesses seem to get screwed almost every time...sad! But im not going to stop supporting
Tammie B — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Rolling Rooster is absolutely incredible! The food was out of this world — I had the chicken tenders, and they were hands down the best I’ve ever had: perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. On top of that, the service was amazing. Zee went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable, friendly, and welcoming. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the service, but The Rolling Rooster delivers on both fronts. Highly recommend if you’re craving great comfort food and a warm dining experience!

Located in the Driskill Hotel at the bustling corner of Sixth and Bravos streets, 1886 Cafe & Bakery pays tribute to its heritage by offering a Victorian tearoom-style setting reminiscent of a lunchroom founded by the Heritage Society in 1886. Since its opening on July 4, 2002, this cafe has become a popular gathering place for both locals and visitors. The menu features mouthwatering Texan comfort food and breakfast classics.
Went for breakfast and it’s some of the best baked goods and coffee I’ve ever had. Plain and simple. I got their waffle and bacon and it was awesome! My wife got the gluten free blueberry muffin and fruit and wow! The atmosphere of this spot, being in the Driskell, is a really cool vibe! 10/10
Russel W — Google review
Amazing atmosphere. Such a sense of History in the hotel. The cafe has great brunch. I had the ladybird egg white omelette. It was so good. I ordered a to-go one to take home to my son. You have to go in and order at the counter and then you can pick where you want to sit, whether it's in the cafe itself or out in the lounge area of the hotel or on the patio. It was great fun
Diane W — Google review
Pretty good breakfast options overall. They had a gluten free muffin which was nice. The Driskill breakfast was good but it seemed a little stingy on the scrambled eggs. We were told that some options were recently scaled down because of new ownership. For example, only whole milk (no skim or 2% for lattes). They also didn't have honey and didn't allow for regular coffee refills. Music was a bit loud in the cafe also but the decor was nice. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you're staying in the hotel it's a quick close option.
DBradshaw25 — Google review
The Driskill Café is stunning, with high ceilings, beautiful details, and a warm, historic vibe — definitely worth a visit for coffee or a pastry, which looked delicious in the display. Unfortunately, our breakfast didn’t live up to the setting. My partner had the turkey B.L.T.,which he didn’t enjoy and couldn’t finish — and that says a lot. My yogurt was alright but too sour because of the amount of lemon juice that was in it. If the food had been better, this would have been our go-to breakfast spot in Austin. As it was, we didn’t end up coming back during our stay.

Stopped by here for something sweet, but the guy at the counter seemed to be annoyed that we wanted to order something. I understand that you’re about to close and finishing up, but we literally went 30 mins before closing and not 5 mins. We’ve got the cookie with everything, I forgot the name. It was good but dry. And it was $7? Crazy

Tucked inside the historic Driskill Hotel, the 1886 Café & Bakery is a cozy, elegant spot with vintage vibes and Southern charm. From the beautiful decor to the warm atmosphere, it’s like stepping back in time in the best way. We enjoyed delicious pastries and comforting breakfast, all made with care. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was relaxed yet refined. Whether you’re in for a hearty breakfast or just coffee and dessert, it’s the perfect place to pause and savor. ⭐️ A must-try in downtown Austin where history meets flavor.

We loved this place specially their cinnamon roll was delicious. I feel so disappointed they change all menu and bakery and took out the food stuff. I’m going to give this place a low rate because of that hope they change it back someday.

The atmosphere is amazing — it has a sense of history. I’ve been here several times, and while the brunch is fine, the real stars are the desserts. Every time I come here and order a dessert, I never regret it. They’re always fresh, delicious, and beautifully made!

Vegetarian/vegan restaurant with some excellent food. Love it, especially the breakfast blueberry cornbread. Vibe is very unique-Austin. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Bar as well with some beer, wine, and cider options. Especially enjoyed the desserts.

We came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The menu is great, with lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, and the coffee was especially good. The service was also lovely, our waitress was kind and attentive. The space inside is bright and open, with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There’s also a patio area outside if you prefer to sit outdoors. Prices are reasonable, and overall it’s a great spot for a tasty vegetarian meal. The only thing that gave us pause was something we noticed when we arrived after 9 am. As we walked past the side of the building, we saw several boxes of eggs sitting outside near what looked like a storage or utility area. It was already quite hot outside (we’re in Texas, after all), and we weren’t sure how long the eggs had been there. That raised some food safety concerns. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. The food was excellent, and it’s a really nice place to spend a morning

I love this place. Staff is great, huge vegan menu, business is committed to progressive community building. It gets packed on the weekends so I prefer to come during the week, but anytime you can get a seat is a great time to come. Also look how beautiful this Moroccan summer bowl was. Incredible vibes 👌🏼As a vegan in Austin I would say Bouldin is basically the center of the orbit.

On a mission to explore iconic local spots in Austin, I made my next stop at Bouldin Creek Cafe—and it did not disappoint. The “weird” and cozy interior (and exterior!) totally embraces the Keep Austin Weird vibe in the best way. The atmosphere is laid-back and full of character. The food? Super affordable and packed with flavor. I tried the Avocado Toast, Predictable Breakfast, Chalupa, and Spicy Pesto—all were fantastic. It’s a great place for vegetarians, too. If you're visiting Austin and want something local, artsy, and delicious, this spot should definitely be on your list.

An awesome vegan place that feels like modern, visibly enticing and touches the taste palettes to a dreamy place. Loved each and everything and definitely bound to return again. With good portion sizes, the plates are good for sharing. Excellent service and a great vibe that definitely reminds you, you are in Austin. Had to wait for over 45min for the table and that wait is definitely worth every minute.

We were in Austin to visit the State Capital, and I was amazed with all the vegan restaurants. In North Texas where I come from, people don't know what a vegan restaurant is. 😀 There was a small wait because we got there at lunch time. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I enjoyed my Lady Bird salad, which was huge and filled with local produce. The ginger flavored lemonade was also good. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

I am not vegetarian or vegan, but happened to come upon this place while looking for coffee and a place to work for a few hours while in town. Chez Zee American Bistro is a beloved family-friendly restaurant that has gained recognition as one of America's best brunch spots. The bistro offers a wide range of American dishes with southern regional influences, all made with locally sourced ingredients. However, what sets Chez Zee apart is its delectable desserts and weekend brunch offerings. The restaurant is particularly renowned for its divine lemon rosemary cake and butterscotch pudding, among other unique dessert creations prepared fresh daily on site.
My (now wife) and I love this place. We first went years ago and loved the food and character of the space. We came back and it was still so great that we ended up also having our wedding rehearsal dinner here. This place holds a special place in our hearts and I hope after reading this, you will come by and try it! They regularly also have a live performer during dinner service.

As a serious foodie I am not into frou frou food. However, Chez Zee is a Lenten pilgrim's sustaining fast. I had the broiled Salmon on mushrooms and spinach. The broth was so good that I ordered bread to clean my plate. Salmon was tender and I did not use my knife. I found three tiny bones that never entered my mouth because the salmon opened as soon as the fork touched it. Fast service with a delightful smiling Texas air. Parking is tight because fellow Texans enjoy great cuisine too. Must do Sunday Brunch because the pancakes will be dreamy. For dessert I brought home the LAST ST. PADDY'S GUINNESS CUPCAKE! The boyo was moist and I didn't need coffee. Chez Zee exemplifies the art of mighty fine cooking. Sunday is around the corner!

Fantastic experience! We got the smoked pork chop with sweet potato mash and garlic green beans along with the seafood pasta special. Probably one of the best pork chops I've ever had and was cooked perfectly. The cucumber jalapeño margaritas were also very good. Finished it off with the chocolate decadence cake fir desert...so good. Highly recommend 👌
Christopher L — Google review
Rainbow trout was like butter and the mashed potatoes were prefect with texture and flavor. Both flat iron steak and fries were slightly underdone. The fries flavor was still great. Tried 5 different desserts The sampler, the chocolate decadence, and the ginger bread pudding. All amazing! Couldn’t taste the raspberry in the chocolate cake. The ginger bread pudding was more a ginger cake with a thin glaze than a bread pudding. Still so good on both accounts. Hummus was good Music was amazing!!!

I would classify this as a fine dining place. The French toast and eggs were really good everything else was just meh. My drink was not worth the price. I’m really indifferent about this place, it’s definitely for the older crowd.

I came with a good friend for lunch and it was perfect. It’s a cute setup and our server Russell was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything we had here for breakfast was great. The chicken and waffles with gravy is a must! The flavor the chicken had was amazing. We sat in the red room, by the way, the vibe there was amazing. There was someone with a keyboard that did such an amazing job playing music. Truly gave it such a chill vibe as we waited for the table to be ready. Had the margarita. Also good and the fact that you can order ahead was a plus. The way we ordered the food through me off a bit but it made it easy when you have to split the bill. Def recommend coming here!

1st time here. Could of been better according to the reviews i saw. Not a fan of QR service. It didn't specify the menu and the options. So, I think the price of the food vs the quality didn't add up. Food took about 30 mins. The best part was the Yellow Bird Sauce and the Dirty Fries. I think I would try it again just to give it a chance but, 1st impression wasn't a positive one. We had a BLT sandwich with dirty fries and a spicy chicken sandwich with a salad. Sweet tea and Cosmo.

Nice restaurant I’d like to thank our waitress for being so attentive to detail. Massive big point that they make cappuccinos, not to be given for granted in the US, although I would kindly suggest to change the coffee/milk ratio slightly in favour of the coffee, as it was very milky! Bravo to the chefs!
Manuel P — Google review
Staff were nice but the food wasn’t very good. Too salty, greasy and overfried. We just happened to be in the area and decided to give it a try. I assume they get many customers from the hotels. $50 for two plates and one waffle….

This restaurant had great fast service and friendly staff. Shoutout to Chayane and Ray! The sweet potato hash was excellent, after starting with their sticky biscuits. The decor and color scheme worked well and in congruent with the Ramada hotel by Wyndam next door.

I placed an online order through Toast and paid in full. I drove over 40 minutes to pick it up, only to find the restaurant CLOSED due to a "temporary renovation" — with no prior notice, no signage online, and no contact from the restaurant. I never received the food or any communication. I reached out to the restaurant and even Toast support, but they said they can’t issue a refund without confirmation from the owner — who never replies. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I wasted time, money, and received absolutely nothing in return. Avoid this place unless you want to risk the same experience.
Esther J — Google review
Food with my syrup would’ve been nice. Atmosphere was great but $40 dollars for this syrup soup not it. There is no service here we got our own drinks no one checked on us after food was brought.

Great spot for any meal, anytime of day. Outdoor seating for better weather. Seat yourself anywhere and order from the QR code. Really good service compared to some places that have that set up. Serve yourself fountain drinks or order a cocktail from the bar..lots of great food options, including gluten free bread/buns. I really enjoyed the Burger, fries and onion rings. They even have a club in the back where they do comedy and music shows. Parking is plentiful since it's connected to the hotel nextdoor, easy to find but you can drive by it if you go too far.

Colleen's Kitchen is a charming eatery with a cozy atmosphere and sidewalk seating, offering Southern-fried favorites, craft cocktails, beer, and wine. They feature daily Family Meal Deals that can be pre-ordered, showcasing dishes like Gulf shrimp and Andouille sausage gumbo with white rice and banana pudding. The restaurant exudes a vibrant ambiance with bustling weekend brunches. The decor is described as calming and filled with natural sunlight.
Colleen’s in Mueller is a solid spot with good food and a comfortable atmosphere. The menu has a nice variety, and everything I tried was fresh and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, and the space itself has a relaxed, modern feel. It’s a good choice for brunch, lunch, or dinner if you’re in the area. The cocktails are well-made, and the overall experience is enjoyable. I’d definitely come back.

I recently visited Colleen’s Restaurant in Austin, and overall, it was a great experience! The skillet cornbread was absolutely amazing — crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The crab cake eggs Benedict were delicious as well, with perfectly cooked crab cakes and a rich hollandaise sauce. The Southern breakfast plate was good but didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The potatoes were fantastic, but the eggs, bacon, biscuit, and gravy lacked a bit of seasoning and flavor. The grits were good, though I'm just not a big fan of them in general. If you go, I highly recommend trying their signature dish: chicken and waffles. It was definitely a standout and worth ordering! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, which added to the overall positive experience. I would give Colleen’s a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Great food, great ambiance, and a wonderful place to enjoy a hearty meal in Austin!

Colleen’s Restaurant is an absolute gem! The crab salad was unbelievably fresh and packed with flavor definitely a must-try. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and quality dishes we’ll definitely be coming back!

Stopped in on a trip through town and im so glad I did. Believe it or not it was chatgpt that suggested it so I had an idea of the type of food and atmosphere weeks before we left on the trip. Hubby had the chicken and waffles. Oh that sauce was insanely tasty. I had the grillades and grits. I've never had short ribs with grits before but a bite with everything in it was pure heaven. Service was great. 10/10 recommend and will come back again if we are in the area.

Quick trip to Austin so my better half, bonus daughter and her friend can catch a concert. What must eager concert do prior to the festivities? Eat. Duh. Are we going to stop at some dump? Absolutely not, I love food, especially the yummy kind. So after a little back and forth over choices to chow down we settled on this establishment. Vibe, on point a nice cozy setting to rest a weary soul. Waitstaff, accommodating (I do wish they suggested additional bread for the seafood fondue but ohh well. Appetizer, delectable. Main courses delicious. Eat here I highly recommend it. Just for reference we ate the seafood fondue, the pork, the fish, the short ribs, and the hamburger just get all of them. I don't think you can go wrong with the flavors or the menu. PS sorry for the crappy pictures

The Cavalier is a laid-back establishment with a warm atmosphere, offering a variety of craft beer, cocktails, wine, and Southern-inspired dishes. The venue takes its casual yet authentic approach to Southern comfort food seriously, infusing each dish with unique and flavorful ingredients. In response to the community's evolving needs, The Cavalier has expanded its offerings to include Backyard Picnic Kits, Meal Prep Kits, Family-Style Meals, and a Virtual General Store/Farmers Market.
Came to The Cavalier for wings and deviled eggs but arrived during brunch hours instead. No regrets—the chicken biscuit with spicy honey butter and chicken and waffles were outstanding. The waffle, surprisingly, was the highlight of the meal. Fried chicken was flavorful and well-seasoned. A solid beer selection and a decent cabernet blend made for a well-rounded meal. The outdoor seating was comfortable, with fans and misters to keep things cool. Would love to return for their regular menu!

You walk in and order from the bar and choose to leave the tab open or close out. It's self seating and they will give you a number and bring your ordered items out to you. I ate the deviled eggs and the gumbo. The deviled eggs were so creamy and delicious I only would of added more hot sauce for July liking but they were good. The gumbo was warm and flavorful, it had a lot of green chilies in so it was a little spicy.

We moved from Austin 7 years ago to retire in Mexico. The East Side was always “our area” and the section we called home in Austin. We come back to visit for a month or so each year and so much has changed in this city we love. While The Cavalier was not here when we left, it now welcomes us home each year when we return. It reminds us so much of the old Austin we love! Affordable, good tasting food, fantastic drinks that don’t break the bank and a kind caring staff who make you feel like family! A special thanks to Tom, Mike, Rachel, Charlotte & Hunter! Y’all made The Cavalier feel like our home away from home during our 2025 visit. Your kindnesses, service and great attitudes overwhelmed us this trip! Thanks for helping “Keep Austin Weird” and fabulous! See ya again next year! ❤️ Chuck & Tom

I'm posting a 2nd glowing review bc this place deserves it. So you could go to a bunch of steakhouses in Austin and spend 50+ dollars on a steak plate.... I would go out on a limb and say not only will you spend more money but you may not find as good as a steak that Kate will make you at The Cavalier on a Thursday night only. Prepare yourself for a fat and juicy perfectly prepared NY Strip steak with chimmichurri and butter on top. I hate how good the fries are bc I don't want to eat them and the chefs kiss of the meal is to split the rocket salad as an add on. Drinks were on point as always. Literally 5 star food for a 2 star cost. Keep doing what you are doing Cav- I hope the owners cherish how amazing of a staff they have ❤️

We had my husband’s birthday dinner here. The atmosphere was perfect! We had the fried green tomatoes and I did not expect them to be so delicious and unique. The waygu Salisbury steak was delicious as well. My husband is a burden drinker and they did not disappoint on selection. Our waitress was awesome! We went there last night at 9:50 and were so grateful that they let us in even though they close at 10pm. We ordered the fried chicken steak, the corn dog and the queso with brisket. The chicken fried steak looked really good at first glance but we didn’t like it as much. It was a bit dry, but maybe that’s how the dish is and we’re not used to it. The queso with brisket was really good and we LOVED it. The corn dog was also really good and the sauce was very tasty. Also they give you popcorn for free as an appetizer which was so nice because we were starving.

I had the center cut pork chop and it was absolutely delicious! Disclosure on my "Atmosphere" rating: I think it would normally be okay, but the party next to us felt they needed to scream at each other rather than just talk to one another. The restaurant was really nice, well kept, staff was friendly, and the meals were delicious!

The food was very fresh. Popcorn came out as an appetizer. It had had cayenne pepper all over it so it had a kick that I wasn't expecting when it first popped that in my mouth. I recommend the corn dog shrimp. It's nice. Big prawns dipped with a really thin corn dog batter. Delicious with the sauce that had a nice Berry and a mustard. It gave a nice sweet taste before cutting through and reminding you a little bit of regular corn dog. Delicious! Chicken steak was supposed to be a chipotle sauce on top. Somebody forgot the Cayenne chipotle something. The only reason why I knew it was supposed to be a spicy because I bit into the corn muffin on the side and it had a nice kick which fused really well with the rest of the food that I was eating. Wished I gotten the trout as the waiter suggested. Cause chick steak was bland. But if you wanted to fill up, or second meal definitely pick that. Maybe ask for a bit more spice on the side. 😂

I came for the chicken fried steak and it did not disappoint. Second best I’ve ever had! My girlfriend had the Salisbury steak and it was very good too. I added a side of bacon to make everything healthy though. Our waiter Hayden was very nice and we didn’t go very long without refills and made sure to make sure we had what we needed without being too pushy. I’ll definitely come back!

Loved the food and atmosphere. Did not feel like a hotel restaurant. Service was friendly. The biscuits were ok not amazing. Wish the grilled cheese didn’t use Hawaiian sweet rolls as the bread - would ask to switch to something else next time because it was way too sweet and overpowering. Best shrimp and grits. Burger amazing. Chicken and waffle excellent. Would definitely return.

To say Stella San Jac is an awesome destination for brunch would be a gross understatement. The food and service are top notch. Service was on point and never waned for even a second. Food was hot, flavorful and hit in every bite. Mimosas and the Bloody Mary are epic. Make certain to get a reservation as Stella San Jac tends to be full at peak brunch hours. The vibe inside is typical Austin brunch: quite loud. The decor is interesting. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It looks like IKEA met a hotel (it sort of did though) and included a modern cigar lounge in for a throuple situation. Don’t get me wrong, it looks good. Service is impeccable.

Breakfast restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a breakfast experience that will leave you satisfied well into the afternoon, look no further than Juan in a Million. Nestled in East Austin since the 1980s, this beloved eatery is renowned for its oversized breakfast tacos and traditional Tex-Mex dishes served in a cozy setting with an inviting outdoor patio. Owned by former school teachers Juan and Myrna Meza, every visit feels like coming home to family.
Absolutely phenomenal breakfast tacos. Went on Saturday and it was very busy. Usually there is a wait but we got lucky and got a nice booth. Don juan taco is massive and honestly the best out of the five I got. Definitely would recommend if there is no wait. If there is a long line like it was we left, might go somewhere else. They also have bottled beer which is nice.

Absolutely amazing food , prices and service. Im from California and it's so hard to find a good menudo. Some of the best ive ever had. We also go the don juan taco. Its was also delicious and such a great serving size.

Juan in a Million is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Get ready to fall in love with their Don Juan El Taco Grande and Con Queso Breakfast Plate. We certainly did. Sharing each plate was compulsory. My only regret is that I cannot eat here regularly. As a visitor to Austin, I feel very fortunate to have chosen this as our last breakfast before heading to the airport. We still felt satisfied after our two hour flight home.

This is probably most popular Mexican restaurant in Austin. There usually a waiting line especially on the weekend. Burrito are huge and good value. Breakfast is pretty good, it is hearty, fresh tortilla goes well with the meal. It would be better if they have chilaquiles. For a popular Mexican restaurant, it is strange that they don't offer it.

Juan in a million is my favorite breakfast in Austin. The Don Juan is the staple and is a mound of breakfast taco filling. They have the Mexican sodas and frescas. I’d recommend getting two extra tortillas with the Don Juan. Be aware, this place can be popping busy. It ranges from no one there to a 30 person line.

Excellent service! As soon as we sat down, we had water and chips & salsa. Prices are affordable and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The food came out lightning fast! It took less than 10 minutes after we ordered. It’s perfect for a quick meal or for a family gathering. Parking is limited but this Austin gem is so worth it!

Classic little joint famous for breakfast tacos. Welcoming staff. Menu covers everything you would expect for breakfast and lunch. I had the Huevos a la Mexicana, which was basic, straight ahead, but satisfying. The Lemonades were massive! We got there just after eight and the crowds started streaming in. Place is bigger than it may look from the outside. I think it is a must-visit in Austin.

The staff was welcoming as soon as I walked in. I had the chorizo with egg and migas with cheese breakfast tacos. They were great and had authentic Mexican taste to them. Plus, they served complimentary chips and salsa.

Nestled along Mopac Expressway, Salt Traders Coastal Cooking invites seafood lovers to indulge in a delightful array of dishes inspired by coastal adventures. This charming eatery captures the essence of seaside dining with its laid-back atmosphere and an extensive menu that features everything from succulent lobster rolls and fish tacos to fresh oysters and shrimp. Drawing inspiration from various coastlines, including the Gulf, East Coast, and even The Bahamas, each dish is crafted using sustainably sourced seafood from reputable providers.
Our first time at the restaurant! Love the modern coastal decor. We were immediately seated for Saturday brunch without a reservation. The food was cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive especially Kenny with his Ernest Hemingway description of the items on the menu. We loved his description so much that we ordered everything he recommended. We definitely will return. It is a lighter healthier faire type of menu and we truly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!

I ordered the clam chowder and lobster and shrimp roll with fries and it was really good and filling! I went with co workers who tried the shrimp bowl, biria fish tacos and another fish fillet dish. All of the food looked amazing and my co workers said the same! The waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes and desserts. The green and white candy taste like key lime pie so grab a bunch!!! No sweet tea only really good homemade lemonade!!

Monday night dinner and we were seated immediately. Very nice uncluttered decor but elegant and comfortable at the same time. We saw some folks dressed in shorts and some folks dressed in suit and tie. Our waiter Skyler was friendly, knowledgeable and had our first drinks to the table while we perused the menu. Without asking a two bite appetizer was delivered to our table. I think it was 2 kettle chips with a dab of smoked fish dip. Yummy. We ordered grilled oysters and a house salad for our appetizers. The oysters had a great flavor and the salad had a nice balance of fresh, sweet and acidic. We wanted some bread to pair with our salad but we didn't want a whole basket so Skyler brought us a plate with 2 slices of Focaccia bread. Perfect. Skyler also suggest wines to pair with our dinners that was spot on. I had the wood fired salmon and my wife had the special shrimp and scallops dish. Both dishes were wonderful and tasty. Thanks. We will be back.

I had an overall good dining experience at this Salt Traders Costal Cooking. The prices are a little steep, but the food presentation and atmosphere is really nice. I ordered the the wood fired salmon, which was ok - not my favorite, however the accompanying items (potato salad and asparagus) were divine!!!! The coconut mousse desert was so delicious and light - I would highly recommend it! The service was also wonderful - staff were extremely friendly and attentive!

Salt Traders is an upscale / non traditional seafood restaurant owned by the folks behind Jack Allen's Kitchen. Dishes are comparatively small, but extraordinary in presentation and quality. You should get one (or more appetizers), even if you normally don't at other restaurants. They have rotating chef-created specials, and I highly recommend whatever is on the menu for the day. What stood out is that all dishes we tried are perfectly seasoned, with unique flavors and textures that elevate the dishes above expectations!

Soooo good!!! I am visiting and this place came highly recommended. We got the bbq shrimp and blackened fish sandwich. It was delightful. So flavorful. Very well seasoned. Our server was so sweet.
L. I — Google review
Great atmosphere and service. They brought out a complimentary sample of the fish dip and house-made chips to start us off. The dip was perfectly smoky and salty, not overwhelmingly “fishy” at all. And the house made chips were incredible! Crispy, salty, seasoned just right. Hubby ordered oysters as an appetizer and said they were great. I’ll have to take his word for it ‘cause, you know, “fool me once…” LOL For entrees, we ordered the fried shrimp & fish platter that came with homemade French fries and also ordered the scallops & risotto. Honestly, the fish & shrimp were perfectly coated and not overcooked at all. The breading was just crispy enough to compliment the tenderness of the shrimp and fish. The fries were skin-on traditional style with a touch of sea salt. As for the scallops and risotto, I have to say that I felt the basil parmesean risotto and arugula overpowered the scallops. While the scallops were perfectly seared, their sweetness was only uncovered if you ate them by themselves. I think the underlying basil flavor is what made this dish less than perfect for my taste. The bitterness of the arugula was also a bit of a distraction to the pallet, so I just pick it out and pushed it to the side. If I were to order it again, I would ask if the risotto could be prepared without the basil and would ask the cook to leave off the arugula. Overall, it was a very nice meal, and the next time we drive through Round Rock and are in the mood for seafood, we’ll give it another visit.

Swift's Attic is a neo-retro chic restaurant that serves creative small plates, craft beer and cocktails. The restaurant is located in historic space and offers a 3-course pre fixe menu for dine-in service as well as a special takeout menu to celebrate all the love.
We had dinner here for our anniversary, and it was truly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. With the help of our server, we tried some unique and incredibly delicious dishes, and the drinks were just as impressive. I was so immersed in the experience that I barely stopped to take any photos, but trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

A big shout out to Swift’s Attic for an incredible introduction to their new Executive Chef Nay Castillo. If you’re looking for flavors that pop with clear identity, Chef Castillo puts a lot of dimensions (sweet, sour, bitter, cold, crunchy, hot, melty, crispy) in each of the dishes. The big test was whether my wife’s sophisticated palate would enjoy it, and it’s a testament that we walked away a happy and very full family. What an amazing dinner and service! Our favorites were the hamachi crudo, lamb pops, and fried chicken. My son demolished the edamame with multi-salts and pop rocks. We had an amazing time. Go check out Swift’s Attic and Chef Castillo’s new menu!

First time in Austin and we had a great meal here! The Papi Churro dessert was a heavenly mix of flavors.

Came here with a large group. We did family style and tried many of the dishes. The favorites were the corn bread with pickled veggies (new for me, but loved the combo, was pleasantly very surprised) and the wagyu short rib. The wagyu was falling apart and super flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were standard but did not stand out. The pad Thai style dish was maybe a weaker of the bunch. That said, you can’t go wrong with most of the menu here. We ordered almost one of everything and not much was left by the end of the meal! Also, the drinks are definitely worth a try. I’m not much for drinking but got ODB loose cannon to go with dinner and it was super yummy! Service was wonderful ✨

Dark moody vibes. We were seated in the lounge by the DJ so it was quite loud but they were nice enough to turn down the volume when we asked. They told us we had to order at the bar since our area wasn't going to be serviced, but we were still checked on enough that it wasn't a big deal. This place is on the pricier side with tapas-sized portions, but most of the dishes we ordered were good. Wagyu Short Rib ($32): galbi-braised wagyu short rib, black garlic dirty rice, pickled mushrooms, galbi reduction. Solid dish overall. The short rib was tender and the flavors were cohesive. Salt & Pepper Gulf Shrimp ($25): lettuce, herbs, sunflower sprouts, sautéed sweet peppers & onions, tiger cry sauce. Really good with a unique batter--one of our favorite dishes. But they only give you like 4-5 shrimps. Duck Gumbo ($22): duck breast, grilled orange duck sausage, charred local okra, rice. Sounded be like than it tasted. Didn't see much duck meat or love the taste, and it was too salty for me. Popcorn Pork Cheeks ($19): chicken-fried Niman Ranch pork cheeks, mala chili crisp, bread & butter pickles. Nicely fried and you can really taste that mala chili. Great starter to share. Tiger Apricot ($14): bacon-wrapped apricot, arugula, chipotle honey mascarpone, cilantro emulsion. Delicious. All the flavors worked really well together. Nice sweet and savory combo. Passionfruit Margarita ($19): Lalo tequila, Giffard passionfruit, house sweet & sour. Tasted like straight alcohol--no real passionfruit flavor. I Don't Want No Shrub ($18): Roku gin, honey, yuzu, BLiS Ginegar, habanero shrub, lemon. Strong with a distinct shrub flavor. Tasted better than the passionfruit margarita, but I liked the Strawberry Lemon Drop more since it's sweeter. Strawberry Lemon Drop ($15 | $7 HH): Tito's vodka, strawberry, lemon, tarragon simple. Best-tasting drink of the three. The strawberry balances out the lemon really well.

I have dined here on 1 occasion with my daughter and another with my wife. Both experiences were delightful. The menu is different and so incredible and changes from time to time. The atmosphere is unique and the lighting is soft. It’s many galaxies away from the feel of a chain or box type restaurant. It’s nice to dine somewhere with a special look and feel.

I've been going to Hyde Park for over 40 years and no restaurant has been as consistent with food quality and restaurant satisfaction then this one. Today I had one of their staples...chicken fried steak. A delicious piece of beef with a well crafted breading that is light in texture yet amazing in flavor. And of course their world famous coated fries with special dipping sauce.

This was an excellent Sunday afternoon location with availability and comfortable semi private seating areas. The smoked Pork Chop 🥩 was absolutely delicious and perfectly made. The Mahi Mahi Tacos was massive and a long with their signature fries we left feeling happy with leftovers. Drinks were also very well prepared. We will certainly be back.

Alexis C — Google review
It’s been a few years since we have been to Hyde Park Bar and Grill, and we have been missing out. The food was far superior to what I remembered from the amazing fries (which were always 5 stars) to the delicious pancakes, great pasta, and juicy burgers. But I think the crowning jewel was how awesome our waiter, Simon, was. My husband downed his drink like a dying man, and Simon refilled it before he could even set it down. And our daughter, who is 5, and always creative in her ordering requests, we given the exact correct meal without any issues despite her requests for a single pancake with bacon only and no eggs. Simon brought us everything we needed and even thought of extras for us, like an extra water with a lid for our little one, and extra plates. The whole experience was refreshingly relaxing and delicious. And as a busy mom, it’s rare for me to go out to lunch and not feel stressed by something. It feels like most places do the bare minimum, get something wrong, or just don’t care, but not Hyde Park Bar & Grill. You get fantastic food and amazing service where you can truly enjoy your meal and time with the company you came to enjoy a meal with.

Had dinner at Hyde Park Grill and really enjoyed it! I got the chicken fried chicken with mac and cheese, and we also tried their fries — everything was delicious and came out quickly. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed (though that may have just been because it was a Wednesday evening). Overall, a great spot for a comforting meal and good service

This is a wonderful Neighborhood Restaurant with very good food and service. It has been around for decades. The restaurant has as good a quality today as it did 25 years ago. Although the prices are higher than they were, they are still reasonable given what's been happening to restaurant prices lately.

Geraldine's is a vibrant American restaurant and bar located in Austin, Texas. It offers a Texas-style menu with carefully crafted cocktails and live music performances. The rooftop deck provides stunning views of Lady Bird Lake, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the eclectic music scene. Additionally, guests can take advantage of complimentary valet parking for a convenient dining experience. The restaurant also offers upscale brunch options with picturesque views of the downtown skyline and live jazz music on weekends.
Sure! Here’s a polished and natural rephrasing of your review: ⸻ I’ll definitely be back. The food was delicious—especially the omelette, which was outstanding. The potatoes were tasty, the sausage fresh, and the eggs cooked perfectly. The biscuits were a bit dry, but that didn’t take away from the overall meal. While the service wasn’t the best this time, I’m hoping for a better experience with a different server on my next visit. One surprising highlight was the music—it was so good I didn’t even realize it was live until later (I was seated away from the musician). Overall, a great first visit, and I’m absolutely looking forward to returning.

Wow. As a chef myself, I think what chef Andrew Amador and the team at Geraldine's really have something special here. The live music, the addictive craft cocktails, the flawless composed dishes leaving the kitchen had my girl and I thoroughly impressed, and our pallets pleased. Thank you TY for your impeccable timing and service this evening. We will be back soon!!
Nathaniel K — Google review
Geraldine’s captures the Austin vibe with style. The live music was fantastic, bringing real energy to the room and creating a setting that felt alive and connected to the city’s creative heart. The infused Tito’s cosmopolitan was a standout. It was smooth, balanced, and had just enough of a twist to make it memorable. The short rib was rich and flavorful, perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. For anyone dairy-free, though, this may not be the easiest spot. Most dishes contained dairy, and the kitchen wasn’t able to offer alternatives or adjustments. That made the menu pretty limiting. Geraldine’s delivers a strong experience overall, especially for the music and cocktails. Just keep dietary restrictions in mind when planning your visit.

A decent brunch spot with live music. The restaurant is located in Hotel Van Zandt on the fourth floor. Upon entering the lobby, there is a single elevator immediately to the right that takes you up to the restaurant. The restaurant has a nice brunch vibe with lively chatter and music. The brunch menu is smaller than the dinner menu, but has enough options to select from. The biscuits come with a lovely honey butter and jam. The burger is solid for a restaurant burger. I would recommend requesting to add lettuce or spring mix in it or on the side as the burger is very meaty. There are two smash-style patties, bacon, egg, cheese, and pickles. The fries have a nice herb seasoning.
Dylan Y — Google review
Went for the jazz brunch, the musicians were great and the ambiance was top too. It wasn't too loud and we were able to carry conversation without having to shout or worry about loud tables. The downside was definitely the eggs benedict. It was a tad overpriced, undercooked, and surprisingly, had too much truffle. It was served with a wilted salad that soaked up the egg and hollandaise sauce to a gross extent. The fries and chicken sandwich were quite good however. Make sure to get the cinnamon rolls, they were delicious.

Terrific experience! We were in town for a music festival (!) and found this spot. Food and service were both excellent. The coffee and Green Goddess salad to start set the tone, then the green chile enchiladas (me) and sweet corn cake Benedict (her) were flavorful, fresh and most enjoyable. Shoutout to Ana Maria, our server, who took great care of us with an assist from Wes, the manager. We will definitely return when we’re back in town! Highly recommend!

I was dubious, but it was fantastic. It was a peak time, and I was alone. Walter was my waiter and he did an excellent job. He gave me just the right amount of privacy, made excellent suggestions, and made sure I was taken care of. The deviled eggs were incredible, the steak was delicious and cooked perfectly to what I asked for. Even the fries and the garnishes were good. I don’t have a single bad thing to say, which is unusual for me lol.

I'm struggling to understand the glowing reviews and high star rating for this place. We arrived for our 8:45 PM reservation at 8:30 PM. The host, with a terrible attitude, directed us to wait 15 minutes upstairs for a table that was already ready. When we returned at 8:45 PM, he ignored us until another employee stepped in to help. His behavior was both rude and racially biased. The experience upstairs was equally bad. It was raining, the area was in disrepair, and we got soaked. The drinks were undrinkable; I can’t believe they messed up a mule. The menu was disappointing, offering only a handful of unexciting dishes. The short ribs I ordered were tiny and bland, and my friend's chicken schnitzel tasted like something you’d get from a freezer bag. Paying $100 each for this was outrageous. Our server was the only bright spot, but he was completely overwhelmed, forced to bartend, serve, and bus tables. The delays were a direct result of the restaurant's inadequate staffing, not his service. I expected an upscale dining experience but instead got something that felt like a fast-food joint.

After another trip to Austin and trying "the best barbecue", I decided to switch tracks and get a regular meal. I stumbled across this corner restaurant and had the best food I had in two trips to Austin. I didn't have a reservation but they were happy to seat me at the bar which I actually enjoy even though I don't drink. The bartenders were both quite busy but helped me immediately when I sat down. One recommended the Wild Mushroom Bolognese and he was right. It was fantastic. I started with sweet tea and spicy deviled eggs. Whatever was on the center of the plate was gone when I finished the eggs. The Bolognese was delicious with the pasta cooked perfectly. The biggest problem with mushrooms is they're usually overcooked. These were perfect and added texture and flavor to the sauce. I definitely recommend this bustling restaurant if you have time and I do suggest a reservation.

We had a good experience overall at Caroline. The food was really tasty, and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio. That said, the service was on the slower side, and it would’ve been nice if they had cleared the dirty tables around us while we were eating. One thing I didn’t love — at the end of the meal, they mentioned a 20% gratuity had been added because of F1 weekend. It would’ve been better if that was disclosed upfront. Still, the atmosphere and food were enjoyable enough to make it worth a visit.
Rebecca C — Google review
My green enchilada brunch plate was pretty good. The sauce was great but the tortillas were a bit chewy. Rachel, my server and bartender recommended the tres leches for dessert. When it arrived I was surprised to see that it wasn’t oozing milk but it was still very good!! Thanks for the recommendation Rachel. I had their Mexican cold brew coffee and it was absolutely phenomenal. Rachel also was a great waitress/bartender and tended to me exceptionally well.

Breakfast at Snooze on South Lamar was a real treat! I ordered the Garden Harvest Omelet, and it was a great way to kickstart the day. It was so fresh and flavorful, packed with veggies and topped with creamy avocado and the herbed cream cheese that added the perfect balance. The Rejuvenate Juice was bright and tangy, giving me that healthy boost I needed. But the real star was the OMG French Toast-hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly fluffy with that cinnamon-y crunch and drizzled in sweet decadence. Loved the friendly vibe here too; everyone was welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Snooze is definitely on my regular rotation for a satisfying brunch in Austin!

Jacoby's Restaurant & Mercantile in East Austin offers a unique ranch-to-table concept, sourcing farm-fresh ingredients from the Jacoby family's own ranch in Melvin, TX. The restaurant prides itself on serving hormone- and antibiotic-free beef that is hand-cut and dry-aged for at least 21 days. The menu features Southern classics like chicken fried steak with black pepper gravy and rich mashed potatoes, as well as high-quality burgers and steaks.
Everything was wonderful! Portions were more than enough! Oh my goodness, if you like meatloaf you must try the BBQ Meatloaf! And the Parmesan Gnocchi is delectable too. The stuffed yeast rolls are tasty but filling so you only need one. My family members really, really, really enjoyed their Chicken Fried Chicken and Chicken Fried Steak. One of us had steak and based on his plate I am pretty sure he enjoyed it immensely since there was nothing left on his plate. And speaking of plates, I loved the plates that the food was served on because they reminded me of the dinnerware that we would eat on at my Grandmother's house. The appetizer plates which were blue and white tins kind a gives a camping vibe. Loved the mason jars for water. We made reservations since there were 6 of us and we were seated in a nice area on the patio. If you happen to be fortunate to have Claire as your server you will be well taken care of. Oh one more thing, save room for dessert the strawberry cake is worth it.

The food was delicious and service quality was truly exceptional inside the restaurant. Except for The valet service was full and the lady wouldn't even let us wait in line, it felt uncomfortable when she yelled at us. We ended up having to self-park elsewhere. 4/13/25

Heck of a good dinner and place to eat. It was a group of 3 and we ate at the bar which was comfortable and a good place to sit. Service was really good with a friendly bartender that took car of us. We all enjoyed our dinner with the Mac & Cheese stealing the show. The parking lot can be a little tricky and I would suggest reservations.

Great food, beautiful view. Dog friendly! The portions are pretty big so think about sharing. The decor and ambience are so relaxing and tons of fans under the shaded area to keep you cool. The large mimosa pitcher is definitely meant for 3-4 people as it was a lot for 2 people to drink. Highly recommend if you’re in East Austin! Make a reservation and parking lot is only valet for $6

This place is really nice looking! We went for Sunday Brunch and the food was delicious. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, the club sandwich, and the strawberry cake. They even came by an asked us if we wanted an extra cinnamon roll that they had! Our waitress was so nice. We sat inside and luckily we made the right choice as it was pouring but the outside looked pretty covered. Will definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jacoby’s in Austin is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting — rustic, laid-back, and perfectly Austin. The food was outstanding — every bite packed with fresh, farm-to-table flavor. I especially loved how the staff made us feel right at home, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. What truly makes Jacoby’s stand out, though, is how pet-friendly they are. The patio is spacious, shaded, and welcoming for furry friends — our dogs were treated like family with water bowls and lots of attention from the staff. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both incredible food and such a relaxed, pet-friendly vibe. Highly recommend Jacoby’s for anyone looking to enjoy amazing food, great service, and a place where your four-legged friends can join in on the fun. Can’t wait to go back! 🐾🍽️

Went in for their Thursday steak and frites special and did not disappoint!! Really good, tender steak cooker to a perfect medium. Cosmopolitan cocktail was great too. Update: we also tried their burger and it’s delicious!! Will be adding Jacobys to one of my staple restaurants in Austin :)

Sat on the patio for a 1pm brunch. Their brunch menu is amazing! Had the Deviled eggs (10/10), biscuits and gravy (8/10), chorizo migas (100/10 must try), side cheddar grits (9/10), & took home a strawberry cake. The strawberry cake is insanely good and it makes me want to request a whole cake for maybe a birthday or something in the future. Portions are huge and 3 of us were stuffed from those all of those as we did more of a family style sharing. Overall place is great and I highly recommend the patio seating.

Arturo's Underground Cafe is a charming, Southwest-themed eatery that serves up an eclectic array of global dishes for breakfast and lunch, with a delightful weekend brunch to boot. Nestled just a short stroll from the campus, this cozy spot invites you to indulge in home-style cooking that’s truly one-of-a-kind.
Yes please. We just moved here and have been trying different breakfast places. This one is the best. We came on a Sunday. They open at 10 and by 940 there was already a line outside. I was very excited to find breakfast foods that actually had flavor. My wife got the Austin Benedict and I got the migas especial. Both were wonderful. The mimosa had the perfect mix of champagne to juice. Sometimes they lean heavily one way or the other, but this one was a good mix. Keep in mind on the weekdays this place is all self-serve. There is no table service. For weekends, they actually seat you at a table. If you’ve never been here, stop reading this and come eat .

Edit: this breakfast and brunch restaurant is also a coffee shop too, with pastries and muffins (I forgot to get a Pic of those), and items like Cappaccino and Lattes too. This place has an amazing atmosphere, and is very retro, with retro music playing. Very good breakfast. I took some pics, but wanted to get pics of the retro diner style comfy seats, that you would see in an old retro diner, but there was a couple sitting at one of the 2 pairs of Seats, so I could not take a Pic of that part. Really cool place though. Oh, and you place your order at the counter, but a staff member brings you your order. We were here on a weekday morning, but I read in a different review that they have 100% table service on the weekends. It was our 1st time here though.

This was a great stop for brunch on a Sunday morning. Wasn’t sure I would be able to get in but the staff was great about finding a comfortable and enjoyable place for a solo visitor on a busy day. Menu was great, I picked a couple that sounded great and the server steered me at the Alamo Benedict. The food looked amazing and fresh and tasted even better. I will surely be returning next time I am in town.

Very good sandwich. Friendly service, different but interesting place. Affordable, clean and the very attractive people working there. The only downside is the waiting time. You have to wait outside because space is very limited. We parked in the parking garage and walked a block to get there.

A mini Gem!!! Loved finding this place- feels like being transported to Amsterdam all of a sudden. Food was ok, nothing special but the vibe was all worth it. Coming back many many more times mayeb I’ll try different foods and find their best ones!

Husband and I stopped by this charming little restaurant over the weekend. This place was my absolute favorite breakfast spot delicious food and great coffee friendly and attentive staff. I got the Migas plate and my husband had the pulled pork eggs Benedict superb!!! Definitely coming back.

I had brunch here based on the ratings and they did not disappoint. It was busy, but I was greeted instantly. I sat inside "underground." Zachary, the server was very busy, but acknowledged me right as I sat and said he would be with me in a moment. And he was. I ordered the Diablo which is Grilled Jalapeno cheese bread with melted Jack, bacon, two over easy eggs, chipotle hollandaise sauce, pico and home fries. It was delicious. A perfect blend of flavors. I paired it with an iced coffee. It was a wonderful brunch. The perfect size where I felt satisfied but not full. The service was excellent with a great meal to match. I'll be back.

Arturo’s is a hole in the wall with an unmistakable Austin charm. Highly recommend coming for brunch and trying their eggs Benedict! I tried the “clasico” which comes with black forest ham, classic hollandaise, and a side of home fried potatoes. It was delicious and very filling. I arrived on Saturday at 12 pm and there was a line of about 10 people, but it moved quickly and I was seated within 20 minutes. Service is quick and friendly. There was plenty of paid street parking on W 17th St in front of the Travis County Civil Court.

June's is a trendy spot offering creative New American cuisine, cocktails, and a selection of beer and wine in a vibrant setting with a patio. Located at the end of South Congress Avenue, this all-day bistro and wine bar exudes effortless coolness. The bright dining room features charming decor, while the outdoor area resembles a Parisian sidewalk cafe. Guests can enjoy leisurely conversations while savoring their meals or drinks.
This place is amazing all around! The vibe of the interior is amazing and reminds me of a little cafe or restaurant in Europe. All the food we got was absolutely amazing, very worth the price. I had to take home my sandwich since it was so abundant. This is one of those places that is reasonably priced and great quality! Such a good option for brunch if you’re visiting Austin or already live here! Also their drink list is very expansive and delicious!

The atmosphere is cute with a touch of elegance. The food was delicious and the service was great. Be warned that if you’re sitting inside under the air ducts, they drip water from the condensation but luckily they have a solution, someone walks around with a towel on a stick that wipes it down throughout your meal. I had the Grilled Chicken Paillard with harissa, wild arugula, fennel, and parmesan. The seasoning was perfect and the chicken was moist.
Devin F — Google review
Sunday night’s impromptu dinner date found us strolling down SOCO. June’s offered a no-wait, romantic, candle-lit opportunity. My gin cocktail was fantastic. Salt cod croquettes and a Boston lettuce salad (I loved the combination of truffle oil with tarragon and cheese) were my choices — with no regrets. Hubby had our usual salade niçoise, which was still delicious. For dessert, we shared the olive oil cake with red wine–poached pear and vanilla ice cream. It was a lovely way to conclude a wonderful meal. And I love their floral arrangements!!!

I highly recommend this place. We walked in just before noon but the room filled up pretty quickly after that. Seating available outside, but it was a bit hot for us. Decor is light and bright. People are very friendly and helpful. A few beers on tap and a big wine list. Food is presented artfully. The chicken sandwich was amazing, and the Boston lettuce salad delicious too. I posted the recent menu under "Updates". Enjoy!

June’s All Day, nestled on Austin’s vibrant South Congress, masterfully blends a relaxed café vibe with a polished Parisian-inspired bistro and wine bar scene . The décor—checkered tile, vintage jukebox, marble bar, and patio—creates a cozy “cool-kids” atmosphere that’s both approachable and stylish . The menu offers inventive New American dishes with European twists: highlights include a crispy, generously sized fried chicken sandwich; rich bone‑marrow bolognese; and a textbook charbroiled burger with a jalapeño kick . Wine lovers will appreciate a thoughtful, frequently rotating list curated by Master Sommelier June Rodil . Service is consistently friendly and prompt, matching the warm ambiance

Josephine House is a chic yet relaxed dining spot located in Clarksville, offering seasonal New American cuisine. The ambiance is reminiscent of a luxurious Vermont retreat with its white shiplap walls and attentive servers. The menu features delectable dishes such as dulce de leche zucchini bread and an Alsatian tart with prosciutto and Dewberry Hills Farm eggs.
My husband took me to Josephine House for a brunch date today, and what a special experience it was! We had a reservation and were seated indoors, where everything was set just right. I especially appreciated that the air conditioning was kept at a comfortable temperature, not freezing cold like so many places in Austin tend to be in the summer. The interior decor is charming and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere for a meal. It can get a bit loud at times, with voices carrying through the narrow room, but it didn’t take away from our experience. The staff were all incredibly polite, attentive, and welcoming. Their kindness and professionalism stood out. Now for the food: we started with a flavorful scone infused with orange zest, anise, and black currants and it was absolutely delicious. Then came the sourdough avocado toast topped with a poached egg as well as shrimp, along with a side of creamy corn grits seasoned with fresh herbs. Every bite was full of flavor! I'm so glad we kicked off our weekend here. 🙌 I highly recommend it!
Allyne D — Google review
Austin is flooded with so many average brunch spots just like this: places that rely on quality ingredients to justify jacking up the prices all while serving these standard, generic, forgettable dishes that lack inspiration. It's culinary noise taking up space but not really elevating the food scene. For that same money, I'd rather support a spot that brings bold flavors, creativity, or maybe global influence to the table. At least give me something memorable. Places like this are a dime a dozen, but I guess if you just want "OK", it's an option. The Good: Service is excellent. Warm, attentive, and efficient. Also, the nugget ice here is a small but mighty win in the brutal Texas heat, especially if you're dining outside. The Meh: The food is HUHHHHHH. To be fair, it’s quality ingredients executed in a general well-prepared manner, but it's boring, safe, and…unimaginative. The best way to describe it. There's nothing culinary-forward or inspiring happening here. And for the price point of the dishes, the lack of creativity is hard to justify.

I had the pleasure of dining at Josephine House in Austin with colleagues, and every dish was an absolute standout. We shared the panzanella, crudo, crab cakes, curry roasted octopus, and steak frites, and each one was both beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The panzanella was fresh and vibrant, the crudo delicate and balanced, and the crab cakes perfectly crisp with generous crab. The curry roasted octopus was a surprising highlight—tender, aromatic, and so well seasoned. And the steak frites? Classic, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for conversation and connection. Josephine House truly delivers on every level—an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Austin.

Underwhelming experience even though we booked months in advance for a special occasion. Tiny, cramped dining areas inside and outside. They don’t have seating inside for more than 4 people. They seated 6 petite women at a patio table more suitable for 4 people. Way too hot to be sitting that close and waiting on slow service. $20 avocado toast was nothing to write home about- something I could have made at home.
Tran L — Google review
Josephine House was amazing! Great service, beautiful ambiance, and delicious food. We especially loved the chopped salad — the perfect mix of crunch, acid, and umami. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice small home environment. Pricey place to have breakfast/coffee. The weather was perfect for enjoying ours outdoors in the converted carport. Servers were polite.
Ruth G — Google review
We invited some friends to Josephine House for lunch, and honestly, it was just okay. The lunch menu was very limited — we ordered the steaks and eggs, but they weren’t that great. The patio area was also quite uncomfortable for what they charge — the tables and chairs weren’t cozy at all, and there wasn’t enough shade or umbrellas to make it pleasant to sit outside. What really surprised me was the billing — they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the check, and then still asked for an additional tip at the end. I was shocked. I believe tipping should be a personal choice, especially when the service and overall experience were just average. In short, ordinary food, uncomfortable seating, and confusing tipping policy. Definitely expected more for the price.

A long awaited birthday brunch at Josephine House! Beautiful weather for an outdoor table. Waitress was exceptional—great combination of ease, efficiency and quirky. The lox offering was exceptional. The touted lemon ricotta pancakes were good but not exceptional. Had other good menu options I’ll try next time. Great selection of brunchy drinks too.

Paperboy is a popular brunch spot in Austin, known for its warm and hip atmosphere. Reservations are recommended weeks in advance due to high demand, but walk-ins are also welcome. The restaurant offers traditional diner seating as well as a downstairs patio with a view of East 11th street. The menu features classic breakfast items like bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches alongside more unique options such as braised pork and sweet potato hash.
Love the vibe of this place. The tall brick hollow wall lets sunlight stream in beautifully. I ordered the chicken and biscuits — the gravy is a spicy mushroom sauce that pairs perfectly with the biscuits. The chicken is crispy and tender, though slightly on the sweet side. Better have reservation in advance or the wait is super long.
Rachel W — Google review
Paperboy is absolutely phenomenal. The meal started with four buttery biscuits, served with butter and a seasonal marmalade—this time, peach. They were divine: flaky, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The hash was a perfect balance of flavors, with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired beautifully with the savory shredded pork. The pecan mole added just the right touch of depth without being overpowering. The pancakes were another standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Truly a must-order. The only miss for me was the cheesy potato side. It wasn’t bad, but compared to everything else, it didn’t stand out, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, Paperboy delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic breakfast we shared the empanada, biscuits and jam, Huevos Rancheros Grits and the Paperboy Pancake. Everything was great. Even their drip coffee was next level. Only complaint is getting blasted by the sun the entire breakfast. Could easily be addressed but they did not have a remedy for it unfortunately.

Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!

Some of the best breakfast in Austin! We came here for a friend’s birthday breakfast and it did not disappoint. We sat outside but it was shaded and there were fans so it was perfect. The coffee was fantastic and tasted high quality, not super sweet but amazing nonetheless. The paperboy pancake is a must, I saw it on TikTok and had to try it. Big, thick pancake but at the same time fluffy. It had great flavor, definitely add the syrup on top, it gets absorbed through the whole pancake. I also got the chicken and biscuit. The chicken was flavorful and crispy, a little kick from the hot honey. And the gravy was delicious! My husband got the standard breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. And he really enjoyed it. The potatoes were super yummy and seasoned to perfection. The toast came with preserved but we couldn’t really tell what kind, but it was great. Highly recommend stopping by when in Austin!

Wow! The food was amazing as was the service! We ordered the chicken and gravy and their gravy was divinely magical! It was sweet, savory and I think I detected a hint of nutmeg in it. Delicious! Also, the pancake was the most buttery, soft pancake I've ever had and it was served with a sweet cinnamon butter. Their cheesy hashbrown was really good too! The staff are super nice and provide exceptional service!

Finding this place in Austin was a real gem; it’s was a super nice restaurant. My boyfriend and I had brunch. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess save us a table. Biscuits and Groovy is a popular food truck in Austin, located in a family-friendly neighborhood. The menu offers a variety of biscuit dishes with creative toppings and gravies, including options for vegans. While originally vegan-focused, the menu has expanded to include meat products like bacon and sausage. The food truck is known for its delicious gravy with just the right amount of pepper and fluffy, soft biscuits topped with bite-sized sausages.
This is a great breakfast food truck! We got the biscuits + groovy. The biscuits were fluffy and hot. The gravy creamy and smooth. The sausage was delicious. The added potatoes were crispy fried - about a tablespoon or two worth. Definitely worth a trip. Tables outside to eat. There is a portapotty in the parking lot but it was locked during our visit, so bathroom may be limited.

If you’re looking for something quick, worth the price, and delicious, this is the place to start your day before getting into any of the many activities in the city. I didn’t know what to expect coming here and I wasn’t sure if I’d get a lot of food as you typically don’t at some spots but they did not disappoint and the food tasted wonderful, was very fresh, hot and had just the right amount to provide the fullness and energy I wanted. Love the food, but not sure what kind of ritual I need to perform to get my order without chives when I order without chives. Doesn't matter how I order. Be careful if you require modifications for actual dietary restrictions and not just personal preference. In my experience, customization requests are not honored.

Chill dude(cashier). It's fast and not bad. The gravy is thick, but it's kinda bland. The biscuits are small and somewhat fluffy. Do try their orange juice its freshly squeezed, it was hella good. This place is roughly the same price as an ihop or dennys. Honestly, you got to sit down and eat it as soon as you get it because it will get soggy. Plenty of seating, and they are organized when it comes to ordering. My biggest complaint is finding parking, I had to drive in circles just to find somewhere to park.

1st time here. Small quaint place. My friend wanted me to try the cookies. I'm not a chocolate chip fan. However, the cookie did taste fresh, rich, and moist. There were several flies in the building, which would have been okay if the table were not already preset with dining ware. So I didn't like that part. The waitress was pleasant, attentive, and quick, which is always appreciated. FYI, the parking lot is tiny.

I would characterize this restaurant as the local neighborhood bistro. French? No way. There is almost nothing about this restaurant that is French. Certainly, they offer a few menu items that are French in character. But then there are so many restaurants that are not French yet offer quiche, beignet, and croissants. With that said, how about the food that is offered? It's good but not great. Perhaps wholesome is the best description. One thing that really perturbs me is ice tea. In Texas, especially Austin, don't screw with the tea. The short glass with yellow water is their idea of ice tea. Nope!!! I picture another glass purchased at a different restaurant that's the minimum color ice tea should be.
Robert W — Google review
I got the shrimp po boy. I thought it tasted good and it was one the items that I think is worth the price given the portion size. My friends also got the pear and blue cheese pastry and the pastrami sandwich. The pear pastry was really good and the pastrami sandwich was a good size as well. $28 for a quiche is kind of much for the portion.

We went to Épicerie for brunch today with my husband and another 2 friends and quickly discovered just how popular this spot is, as it was bustling when we arrived around noon. Thankfully, the wait was short and we were seated within about five minutes. The space is charming and thoughtfully decorated, but the noise level was quite high, making conversation difficult. Some acoustic panels could go a long way in improving the ambiance. We ordered the almond croissant, the butter lettuce salad, and the soft eggs. For drinks, we had a dirty chai, a black tea, and an americano. Everything was fresh and delicious. In addition to the dishes featured on the menu, Épicerie offers a lovely selection of pastries, both sweet and savory. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The service was fast. I’d definitely recommend Épicerie and look forward to coming back, ideally during a quieter time to better enjoy the experience.

However, after sitting down, we quickly realized all of the food was delicious. I really liked the garlic bread, but my girlfriend was loving the tortellini. Will be coming back this fall once the FOS is back. There were no parking spots when we showed up and had to park on the street :/

Excellent shrimp po-boy sandwich. One of the best I have had in I can't remember how long. We were looking for somewhere new today for lunch and found this place; I saw they had shrimp po-boys and we had to go and try them out- so glad we did! We also had the peach appetizer which was very unique and delicious- sliced peaches with a nice little sauce drizzled over it. We sat outside which honestly in my opinion was the best spot in the house- maybe not when it's 100+ degrees out but today it was perfect. A nice little covered patio and they have the fly fans (though luckily they weren't a problem) but they do have the fans which I always appreciate.

This level of care and commitment to quality is rare and heartwarming, proving how much the team genuinely loves what they do. The Beer Plant is clearly beloved by many—families were happily waiting for tables, knowing the food and ambiance were worth it. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression, where you feel like part of a community. Sadly, The Beer Plant is closing its doors just before Christmas, due to the challenging economic climate. It’s heartbreaking to see such a remarkable place go, but I hold out hope that Sarah and her team will find a way to bring this magic back to Austin. They deserve all the best, and I’ll be cheering for their next chapter. If you can, visit before they close—you won’t be disappointed. This place is a treasure.

We really enjoyed our visit. The staff were all very kind and helpful with making menu suggestions. We had the Nashville Hot & Crispy, Mac n cheese and the Hillcountry chicken. Everything had a well seasoned taste, nice big portions and came out quickly. The drinks we ordered were also yummy and well balanced. We had the cucumber yuzu collins and when doves cry. Unfortunately the oven stopped working so we weren’t able to enjoy our first pick of the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream so we had the peach cobbler instead. It was okay. I prefer my desserts a bit more sweet, however I did appreciate the fresh peaches. The restaurant itself had a very nice chill vibe, dim lighting, contemporary and basic seating. The restroom definitely needs attention. There was graffiti on the walls and ceiling and it had a very sour odor in the hall area leading to the restroom.

Awesome vegan place very close to downtown Austin. Loved the vegan food for the variety and difference it brought out in the taste and presentation. If you are a vegan food lover, you ought to visit this place and check it out. Excellent service with a little strongheadedness in that they knew what your answer was going to be when they asked you a question about the food and acted that way. Oh well, I loved the food so take their attitude for that.

We were looking for a vegan place for dinner and went to Beer Plant. Sat in the outside section with our dog (it’s a covered corridor with fans, not a garden) and it was perfect. The corridor has nice lighting and gets good breeze. The starters were excellent, especially the Brussel sprouts in miso sauce and the beetroot hummus. Cauliflower wings had too much vinegar and tasted sour. French fries were avoidable. The mains were good. It’s hard to find vegan lasagna and Beer Plant has one which was above average. Big Bend burger came with a side of kidney beans and was just about okay. Lentil Wellington was somewhat disappointing. Desserts were great, especially the peach cobbler. I think the next time we were order more starters and desserts and maybe skip the mains.

Stopped in for brunch not really knowing what to expect. We knew it was a vegan restaurant but that was it. Food and service was amazing. Will for sure be back. Great local beer selection, and the cocktails on the menu looked fun. If your looking for vegan food in Austin I would highly recommend.

We decided to try this vegan place while we were visiting downtown. It’s a bit dark when you walk in even in the dining area.. we tried the chicken and waffles, and it was very good, but a bit on the pricey side. we had some lemonade as well as a chocolate croissant. That was a bit stale with just some chocolate drizzle. I will need to go back and try some dinner items that weren’t available during lunch.

Incredible food and great happy hour specials! Update: went back for dinner the same week- frozen watermelon cocktail, fried seitan, and Mac n cheese were all amazing! This time the staff (Wednesday 6/12) was much more attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.

We had such a great dinner here- the food, the drinks, service & atmosphere were all top tier. Another all vegan menu where I wanted to try everything! Mark had the Hill Country Chicken and he loved his and I had the Nashville Hot & Crispy and it was next level good!

Thai Fresh is a popular spot known for its cooked-to-order dishes and homemade ice creams. The restaurant also features a market offering rare Thai ingredients. Chef Jam Sanitchat's establishment has been a local favorite for 15 years, serving authentic flavors and seasonal ingredients. Many menu items are gluten-free, and the in-house bakery offers an entirely gluten-free lineup of sweet treats and decadent desserts. The flexible menu allows for numerous substitutions, making it suitable for various dietary preferences.
We meet our adult kids occasionally for dinner in Austin and they get to choose a place since they live there. It has to be in south Austin though so we don't have to drive across Austin. This restaurant was a great choice. The food was delicious and the drinks were also pretty good --especially the Tiger Punch. I had stir-fry with chicken and rice and really liked it. My husband and daughter had drunken noodles and said they were really good. My son had a pork sandwich and raved that it was really tasty. We would go back here in a minute. The service was also very good with the workers patiently answering a lot of questions since we had never been here before. It's kind of small but it offers great food. I think they also had a military discount.

I discovered this place because my friend eats gluten free. It’s healthy and delicious. I have been coming for years and they have gluten free desserts and awesome coffee drinks and tea.. The pad Thai is good. If you like Pandan sweet flavor. This is one of few places you can enjoy Pandan ice cream. My favorite is the coconut ash flavor. Today I had the dark chocolate sea salt tart. I asked them to warm it up a bit and it was perfect. It has a cozy modern eclectic feel inside. You can bring your laptop and work as well. Oh, I couldn’t help myself and had a bite of the tart before taking a pic.

If you like authentic Thai food, don't come here. The Papaya Salad was lacking texture, Thai basil, fermented dried baby shrimp, and Thai chilies. Instead of smashed cherry tomatoes , it came with pulpy, tasteless, cubed tomatoes. It was heavy on the fish sauce, but missing all of the intricate ingredients Thai food is known for. The Glass Noodles with shrimp were also lacking this layering of flavors.  It was one dimensional, and the ever present pulpy tomatoes accompanied this dish as well. Would never order this again. We also ordered 2 tacos: one with fajita meat and another one with shrimp and eggs. And while the tacos were large, they were greasy and lacking any kind of fresh vegetable accompaniment typical with tacos. And they did not come with salsas. If you like large, pricey portions, this is your place. If you like an orchestra of flavors typical of good Thai or Mexican cuisine, then this is not for you...

So worth the wait for a parking spot! The interesting thing is that they have way more seating than you would think so we got right in. Started off with a few apps and then a soup and I got the fried chicken. Just an awesome experience.

Terrible service, mid to low level food, and over priced. Thai Fresh has failed me multiple times and last night was the final straw. We ordered a few to go items - including a side of tofu. The tofu literally came with 8 small pieces of dry tofu and they charged $4.50. Ten years ago Thai Fresh was a nice addition to the neighborhood. Today it is a self serve operation with lack of quality of service and food. Don't waste your time!

15% mandatory tip for PICK UP orders. Meaning I paid a dozen dollars to drive myself to their facility (because they are too greedy to pay that same 15% to a delivery service or driver), receive no special service, no ecstatic thank you, no sweet little cookie for coming by, just lazy drop of my food on the counter and the sheer greed of these little purple haired individuals (meaning ownership, management, and regular staff alike) that believe my hard earned money belongs in their pocket, rather the mine, because they did…their….job….below satisfactory levels. The best part is I’m a very generous tipper and for simply grabbing my food with a 360 degree, in-place turn, I probably would have thrown ya $5. Literally catch me at a coffee shop tipping $3 for no reason. But when you’re this greedy, disguised as an equitable solution (truly just owners being cheap) it’s such a repulsive result. To find out I’ve been auto tipping (without choice) every time I do a pick up order will now make this the last visit. If you stuck around to read this, it’s solid food, no better than the others, safe yourself the tragedy of supporting an enterprise like this for takeout. DEFINITELY don’t eat inside, very sad atmosphere, same below average service, and an auto tip for that service, I’m sure 😂

I ended up here based on a recommendation from a friend, did not disappoint. I ended up ordering something away from my comfort zone, I’d usually go for a pad Thai or pad see ew, but I went ahead and ordered the red curry and the coconut soup. Very delicious, good portion. The soup I was not such a big fan of, wouldn’t get it again. Will definitely be back to try my favorites at this spot. I definitely love the counter service they’ve got going on, there’s a self-serving station so you can help yourself to sauces and waters. You can either go ahead and order at the counter, or take a seat at one of the tables and order from the sticker they have on the tabletop. Your food will just magically appear after ordering, which is amazing. Very good spot for studying, I would definitely come in and do remote work here, it’s got coffee shop vibes.

Popped in her after the Formula One weekend. Seen it advertised/featured/referenced in so many tv shows and films we had to experience it. Friendly service from the moment we walked in . So my niece and I went twice, visiting from Houston for two days of concerts. Well the first visit was at night and the manager on duty was amazing. She had it all under control and with a smile. She even had a new server, who did great, but she was being patient with her as well. I know under her guidance that server will be amazing. Then we went a second time during lunch and once again the staff was amazing our server was amazing and so polite. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely be coming back. The food, the service....totally worth coming here.

I had an awesome experience at IHOP thanks to Diamond, who truly went above and beyond. From the moment I sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and upbeat, making the entire meal feel welcoming and relaxed. My order came out perfectly, and she checked in just the right amount, never rushed, always smiling. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers and takes pride in her work. If every restaurant had a server like Diamond, dining out would always be a pleasure. She turned a regular breakfast into a great experience. Highly recommend asking for Diamond if you stop by!

Despite facing staffing shortages after the COVID shutdown, the restaurant strives to provide good customer service. Visitors have praised the friendly staff, efficient service, and delicious food, particularly highlighting the French Toast and Chicken Fajita Omelette. The positive atmosphere makes it a pleasant dining experience for patrons.
This was my first time here, and I came around 10 PM. The restaurant is clean and well organized. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The pancake was a bit too sweet for me, maybe because of the amount of syrup, but the burger and crispy onion rings were delicious. The staff Maggi provided excellent service with friendly smiles. I’ll definitely come back for breakfast next time!

We ordered togo from IHOP at 7:45pm the online site gave us a pick up Time of 8:13pm. I was surprised, this is really quick pick up for a restaurant. My son went to pick Up the order and could not find anyone at th front desk....i had to call the restaurant to talk to a team member, I asked them to go to front to meet my son with the food. We picked up the 2 bags and brought them home. We opened it all up and found we were missing 3 hot chocolates, an order of tres leches pancakes and a whole crepe meal. I called the restaurant to see if maybe there was missing bag, the team member who answered the phone said I should call th door dash person and talk to them.....I ordered direct on the IHOP website... I showed up expecting the restaurant to be slammed it was not. Going to pass on IHOP and head back to Kerby Lane from here on out.

I haven't been here in awhile, there were 4 tables in the whole restaurant which was good since they seem to only have one server. My food was fine but it stopped there the other person at the table found moldy cheese. When we said something about it, well do you want me to have them remake it? Which they did but it was an entirely different dish that came out. She did take it off the bill but I can say I won't be back there anytime soon.

Service and atmosphere was great the moment we walked in! Host was sweet and Suzi was super sweet! Food came out quick, she was very attentive and kind to give us beignets as first time customers which were delicious! Especially the marmalade. We ordered the Lobster and Brie omlette along with Smoke Salmon Benedict. Both were a bit on the salty side for us, but overall cooked very well. Veterans Day was yesterday and Suzi mentioned the free meals they were giving. My girlfriend happens to be a veteran herself and it was her birthday today so Suzi packed a few extra beignets for us. Thank you so much again! Would definitely come back.

Nervous Charlie's Bagels is a must-visit spot in Austin for bagel lovers. Whether you're grabbing breakfast on the go or meeting friends for brunch, Nervous Charlie's welcomes everyone. Their menu features delicious bagels with a variety of cream cheese flavors and sandwiches.
We had a great time at Nervous Charlie’s! The lox bagels we got were perfectly toasted, delicious - up to par with some of the best bagels I’ve had from all over the states. The cold brew slaps too. Good music, and the workers were really kind and quick to get our meal to us on a Saturday afternoon! Thanks y’all.

Exceptional bagel but average as a breakfast sandwich. I was craving a good breakfast bagel post illness but I wanted to keep it light on the stomach so I ordered a classic on everything bagel with turkey and provolone. A nice healthier protein forward option on the menu. THE BAGEL- perfectly airy and crisp with just the right amount of salt without it going overboard. The eggs were fried over hard so a bit dry, unseasoned but the salt from the bagels was enough. The turkey was shredded, not overly briny, would’ve have preferred more and in sliced form for the price. I will return to try other menu items and for the bagels! Great for order to go as seating can be hard to get on weekends during brunch hours.
Jennie R — Google review
Great bagel sandwiches! Our order did take a little while to be prepared, and once it was we don’t hear a shut out so several more minutes passed until we went to ask about our order a second time. But the bagels are yummy! Also the strawberry cucumber tea(?) drink was so so good! It almost tasted of watermelon? Very refreshing on a hot summer day.

This place is great! The bagels were fantastic with lots of flavor! I added a touch of salt to my bagel and it really popped the flavors. They were generous with the avocado. Tomatoes were ripened as well. Music was a touch loud but over all awesome place.

I’ve really enjoyed 2/3 different bagels I’ve tried. The pastrami bagel is my favorite so far. I appreciate the customizations you’re able to make like picking the type of bagel 🥯 or cream cheese that you want. I’d like to try a few more of their other stuff for sure.

Waffle Love, located just north of Austin in Round Rock, offers a laid-back and playful setting where homemade waffles are piled high with creative toppings. The menu features an array of sweet and savory options, including classic chicken and waffles, salads with waffle croutons, chicken and avocado tartine, grilled cheese with tomato bisque, banana cream pie waffle, Biscoff cookie butter waffle, fruit-topped waffles, and more.
We've been loyal fans of the Waffle Love food truck for years, catching them at various locations, and they never disappoint. Their concept is simple—delicious waffles with creative toppings—but it’s executed so well that it keeps us coming back. What makes Waffle Love special is not just the consistently tasty waffles, but the fun and excitement of seeing what new creations they come up with. Whether it's a seasonal special or a new twist on a classic, they always bring something fresh and flavorful to the table. Highly recommend if you're looking for a sweet treat (or even something savory) that hits the spot every time!

I came at 8:45am on a Wednesday and was the only person. The woman who greeted me was super friendly! The music is inviting and fun. I hope this place is packed on Saturday & Sunday because they are delicious. I got the Savory Breakfast Sammy with sausage and a regular drip coffee. The waffle was crescent crispy on the edges and not too thick/filling. The sausage looks hand rolled not frozen and egg was cooked to perfection. A hint of syrup. The flavors are all there! Every month check their seasonal specials! Currently have a Sweet Pumpkin Pie Waffle & Dubai (chocolate & pistachios) Waffle. (Might take one to-go!) I LOVE that they have internet so I can work here for a few hours. Makes for the perfect “work from anywhere” spot. They offer parties for any event.

Visiting Waffle Love with the Round Rock Chamber Ambassadors wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience worth remembering. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this was more than a waffle shop. The environment felt intentional, designed for connection. Tables filled quickly with laughter, conversation, and anticipation as plates began to arrive. Some of our group went savory, diving into the crispy Chicken and Waffles that left them smiling bite after bite. Others explored lighter choices, like the avocado toast waffle, layered with a generous spread of avocado and crowned with a fried egg. And of course, a few of us leaned into the sweet side, with waffles paired with ice cream that turned grown-ups into kids again. What struck me most wasn’t just the food (though it was outstanding), but the way it brought us together. We had ambassadors who had been loyal fans of Waffle Love for years, and others who were stepping inside for the very first time. By the end of our visit, every single one of us was glad this was the spot we chose to meet.

The waffle description was basically the same, EXCELLENT with a flavor that I have never tasted. I highly recommend Waffle Love! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a big welcome and smile. The girl up front was awesome and she moved very quickly to get orders in and make our coffees. We did not wait long to get our custom scrambowl breakfast. All the veggies were super fresh and delicious. The proteins were better than expected. They have tons of choices to customize your bowl or burrito. The place itself is casual, and plenty of seating area. While we ate our breakfast we noticed a gentleman that was helping everywhere in the restaurant and we came to discover he was one of the owners, Sergio. We had the opportunity to speak to him and thank him for the such a delicious breakfast. I can’t wait to see one pop up in North Austin.

Casual, decadent, delicious! My husband and I split the ranch hand breakfast burrito filled with creamy scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and extras. We also shared a side of the fruity pebbles deluxe waffle sticks AMAZING, loaded tator kegs and grit sticks. Highly, highly recommend sharing the grit sticks. They’re so yummy! Superb value for the money. Generous parking out front as well. We’d be regulars if we lived in the area!

Tucked away in a modest locale, Humpty’s Wall of Breakfast is a small, diner-style haven that is big on taste. Its unpretentious exterior belies the flavor adventure that awaits within. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, reminiscent of traditional diners where comfort food is the star. The menu isn’t extensive but is thoughtfully curated to offer hearty breakfast delights. I was enticed by the “Your Eggcelence” breakfast sandwich, a signature dish that promises a hearty start to the day. The sandwich was a delightful ensemble of scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and bacon, with a fresh medley of chopped tomatoes mixed in. The vampire salsa added a spicy, invigorating zing to each bite, while slices of creamy avocado provided a smooth contrast. All these ingredients were cradled within a soft ciabatta bread which added a nice, chewy texture to the whole experience. I also indulged in a strawberries and cream waffle stick, an extra treat that was well worth the add-on fee. This whimsical item consisted of a fluffy waffle on a stick, generously drizzled with strawberry syrup and sweet, creamy frosting. It was a playful, sweet ending to a savory meal, offering a delightful contrast in flavors. Every item was served piping hot, emphasizing the freshness and immediacy of preparation, which I appreciated. Despite the casual setting, the attention to flavor and quality was evident in every bite. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant, laid-back dining experience. Humpty’s Wall of Breakfast is a gem of a place where simplicity and flavor coalesce to provide a heartwarming, satisfying breakfast experience. It’s a place that proves that you don’t need a fancy setting to enjoy a memorable meal. The delightful taste, warm service, and cozy atmosphere make it a worthy stop for breakfast enthusiasts looking for a taste bud-pleasing, hearty morning meal.

After flying into Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, we needed breakfast before we made our way into the city, and we thought how could we miss with a place named Humpty's Wall of Breakfast?? We each ordered the Your Eggcellence sandwich and man, was it tasty! Fluffy eggs, creamy avocado, spicy salsa, a little crunch to the bread and saltiness from the bacon - it was so good! The staff were very friendly and the storybook vibe is fun and definitely kid-friendly. Highly recommended!

Visiting for a few days and wanted to try different breakfast spots. So happy we came here. Next time I'm in town I will definitely be coming back here. Came around 10am on Sat and there was no wait but half hour later it started to get busier. Right when you walk in, you order at the counter. The lady at the counter was very friendly and polite. She was very helpful knowing it's our first time. Gave us a breakdown of the menu and made suggestions. We did build your own. I kept it simple and did egg and cheese with a side of the sun dried tomatoe aioli (this was delicious and went well with the sandwich). My husband got the sausage, onion, cheese, green peppers, mushroom with vampire salsa (very mild not spicy). The tater kegs tasted like baked potatoes in a tater tot form (has bacon bits inside). They were heavy but tasty. We got the plain waffle sticks and these were so good. So simple but fun and easy to eat vs a whole round waffle. We did plain so it wasn't too sweet even with the powdered sugar and maple syrup. They were soft on the inside and a light crunch on the outside.

Such great food and even better people! The signature plates are legit and the owners know how to care care of their customers. Definitely worth a visit and heck, a place to make part of your week! The coffee is also mighty fine so grab a cup to go along with the delicious spread. We got a mix of lunch and breakfast specials and everything tested awesome.

Extended Stay America - Suites - Austin - Downtown - Town Lake is a fantastic all-suite hotel that caters to both leisure and business travelers. With complimentary breakfast, parking, and Wi-Fi, it offers great value for those looking to explore the vibrant city of Austin. Whether you're in town for a bachelorette party or seeking a peaceful retreat by Lake Travis, this hotel provides the perfect base for your adventures.
For what it is, this is an excellent value for money. The rooms are clean and equipped with the basics management is quick to help and has a great attitude. Very positive vibes in general. It’s not supposed to be a Hilton, but for those who are looking for more longer accommodation and find themselves in a bit of a limbo or for those on business trips it’s perfect.

Not worth the cheap price, spend a little more per night and go somewhere else. I expected the building to be dated and budget, which was the case. I didn’t expect the sketchy parking lot or the homeless encampment in the woods behind the building. The absolute worst part was the smell in the third floor hallway, imagine chemicals mixed with puke mixed with rotting trash mixed with nursing home smell. The AC unit in room had obvious black mold. The staff was friendly but their computer and door card system is extremely slow. Extended Stay hotels are very hit or miss, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Arrived and was told that my 11 day stay was refused because the hotel was fully booked and that they'd left the responsibility of contacting me to book elsewhere to Expedia. Would recommend double-checking any booking. If you shake hands here, count your fingers.

Great location but that’s about it. Stayed 2 weeks and regrettably with my toddler. Never again. Room smelled, NEEDLE CAPS under the bed and we got a stomach bug the first two days there. Front desk named Amber was RUDE. Could not be bothered for anything and never had anything( towels, sheets, trash bags etc) available. Also the keys ALWAYS mess up. Was locked out of our room after midnight and could not find the front desk because she playing hide and seek with the security officer who also said he didn’t know where she was. Oh and they continue to charge you even after you checkout. This location was a nightmare. Never again.

One of my best stays at an extended stay America in a long time location is perfect, the rooms are spacious, the service is wonderful, the rooms are clean, the staffs here are very helpful and friendly. Wanted to thank Mrs Latasha Vaughn the General Manager for holding a wonderful place for us to stay and feel comfortable while we sleep. A lot of people look for a high end place with a cheap price and to me this place is very well taking care of. I enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you all

Awful customer service. The weather strip on our front door was not up to code and literally anyone could have come into our room. Our next door neighbors were so loud and rude. The whole hotel reeked of smoke and was so outdated. The bathroom door even has water damage. It’s gross and disheartening to have stayed here and been charged more than two nights stay for smoking even though the employee neglected to inform us of the policy and did not send documentation to sign until 4:50AM the day after check in.

Nice spot by the city, lovely staff, but I wouldn't go back...aside from the nice things, it could outweigh the bad things. My clock card had to be set twice a week, door fixed once, biggest problem was I had 2 incidents with cockroaches in my bed and once in my shower, then there's the bed bugs....not sure if they actually believed me, but I have lots of bites and photos...worst of all, I was compensated for what so ever, dont agree with that!

Wild Chix & Waffles is a charming spot known for its creative sweet and savory waffles, including options like the "what the cluck" with chicken. The menu is almost entirely gluten-free, making it a safe choice for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is described as adorable, with swings indoors and eye-catching decor. While some find the food to be visually appealing but lacking in flavor, others rave about the terrific food and friendly service.
The food was terrific, the staff were so sweet, fun and on point! The decorations and art displayed here were really perfect! I loved my swing seat, and the coffee mugs! We ordered the "what the cluck" -- my husband had his with cole slaw and I had mine with waffle fries....so freaking good! Their entire menu except the beer is gluten free, as a bonus! The service and coffee and entire experience was top notch! I even liked the decor in the bathroom! Oh, and we visited right as a block wide blackout occurred.....we had the perfect order timing, though, and our food came out perfectly. The staff handled the situation with humor and great service! We had our breakfast by candle light, and it was a great first impression! I can't get over how rad the staff was and how great the food was! Thanks guys! We WILL be back!

Food was good, and the atmosphere was fantastic. There are games to play with your friends, awesome art everywhere and every place to sit feels unique. The food was good too, but expect to pay a few more bucks due to how cool the actual location is. The salad on the menu was delicious, but a bit steep given a few strips of grilled chicken. Overall, it's definitely a good spot to hang out or take visiting friends.

Amazing GLUTEN-FREE food, from a gluten-free kitchen, accompanied by an adorable atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. I’m not gluten intolerant or have celiac, but as someone whose friends have those issues, I understand the difficulty of finding restaurants that are truly safe to visit. Their waffles and fried chicken are AMAZING to someone with the privilege of eating gluten products, and they have a great drink and coffee menu, too. They also have two indoor swings. I sat in one. Comfy, whimsical, perfect.

Best chicken and waffles I've ever had an it isn't even close! An amazing interior adds to the great food and awesome staff. The New Orleans style coffee is a must. Highly recommend this place!
Preston D — Google review
This is a gem I discovered. It is quietly tucked in the heavily crowded business area but I can vouch for it - it is amazing and worth it. The interior decor in itself scores 5 stars for me. Such a chic place with lovely art and furniture. The servers are amazing plus guess what - they have iPad for ordering, no more of those awkward conversations at the register. You can still do it if you want to but I found the self ordering quite convinient and the app is really nice. Also, they have five stars if you follow up with them and collect points that way. Their menu is quite good and I loved the What the Cluck - ahmazing! 2 coffee options and they have an alcoholic drink menu as well. Usually a brunch place and we went there on a Wednesday 10.30 am so it wasn't crowded at all but I'm not sure about their peak hours. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. They have merchandise you can but plus they have live photo frames on the wall - classy!

We came across this restaurant by pure chance while visiting Desano. While waiting for our food I saw one of the employees with a delicious looking plate of chicken and waffles, with Wild Chix on the bag. I work around the area and I was surprised to find that it was right here! The decor is very unique here, giving a hip coffee shop vibe. They have a wide selection of chicken and waffle items including sandwiches. We placed our order at an iPad (pictures for every item, love it!) and took a seat on a swing bench and our food came out very quickly. Since we had just eaten pizza we were not ready for a full meal, but went ahead and got the Gone Bananas, waffle fries, 15 minutes of fame, and OJ. Gone Bananas - this features their signature Belgium waffle along with a health serving of Nutella and banana slices and a side of cream. This was made to perfection, would definitely order again. My wife mentioned that strawberries would had been nice, but I didn’t feel that anything was missing. Waffle Fries - fresh made, salted just right. I am very picky about food fries and they nailed these. 15 Minutes of Fame - a tasty latte like drink, but with a 15 hour cold brew base. I’m not a sweet drink person and this was flavored just right. They have a selection of other coffee drinks, as well as a healthy draft beer and wine selection. OJ - fresh squeezed as promised, good juice! I can tell when the owners and workers take pride in their work, and it comes through in the food and service. I cannot wait to come back this week with my coworkers for lunch and try the What The Cluck sandwich, this looks epic!

Ill give the food a 8.5 out of 10 for presentation, but lacks on flavor. Looks really good but its not all about looks. Also a bit pricey. $5.50 for a small glass iced coffee that is a bit bitter. Other than that, not a bad place to go to.

Phoebe's Diner in North Austin offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of delicious options. The menu includes gluten-free choices like the Crab Cake Benny and shrimp and grits, as well as classic favorites such as pancakes and biscuits with tomato gravy. The horchata cold brew, migas with potatoes, BST omelette, and pancakes are all highly recommended. The attentive service from servers like Daniel adds to the overall enjoyable visit.
Fantastic find today when we decided to try Phoebe’s Diner for a late breakfast. The Hatch Chile Migas were incredible—lots of blended flavors and mildly spicy. Hatch hollandaise and cojita cheese, eggs, tomato, cilantro and sautéed onions beautifully blended without corn chips (yea!) Two hatch flavored hush puppies accompanied the dish. We subbed out fresh strawberries and blueberries instead of red potatoes. It’s my new favorite breakfast dish. Service was great and loved the atmosphere. Really cute place!

This place is great. The staff was friendly and attentive, they never let my coffee cup go empty. It was our waitress's first day, but she did an amazing job and was quick to ensure that we got everything we needed. The atmosphere was a fun classic 50's style diner. It was slammed, but we were able to get seating on the covered patio immediately. I had the eggs benedict and my girlfriend had baked eggs, both were phenomenal. We will return.

I ordered the badass bacon and eggs. The eggs were delicious if you add cheese and don’t like a lot of cheese I would say light on the cheese. The bacon is cut thick which was very good! My husband ordered the brisket and egg burrito, it’s a pretty good size burrito with plenty of brisket.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Phoebe’s Diner – Austin, TX A Cozy Gem with Elevated Comfort Food I stopped at Phoebe’s Diner expecting classic country-style biscuits and gravy, but what I found was so much more. The food was elevated, almost gourmet — like southern comfort had been reimagined with a chef’s touch. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The bacon alone deserves its own shout-out — thick-cut, perfectly cooked, and so large I only needed one slice. Every bite was full of flavor and cooked with care. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, enough to leave me satisfied for the rest of my drive home. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had that “local favorite” feel — casual yet refined. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt like a wonderful surprise tucked into a relaxed Austin setting. If you’re in Austin and want comfort food that feels special — the kind that feeds both your appetite and your soul — Phoebe’s Diner is absolutely worth the stop.

Phoebe’s is a fantastic brunch place with lots of great options Make sure you get their horchata! We had a variety of dishes - fried green tomatoes (starter), chile relleno, pancakes, migas and french toast I wish the migas came with tortillas but the masa cake balls were an interesting option The other dishes were all excellent And the atmosphere is very friendly and lively Feels like a neighborhood breakfast place
Harshal C — Google review
I wish I could say my husband and I had a better breakfast experience at Phoebe’s Diner. As for the diner atmosphere, the vibe was super cute and homey. As for the food, I ordered the Benedict with fried chicken instead of ham and my husband ordered the brisket burrito and the sourdough french toast. Now the sourdough french toast was AMAZING— light/fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. But the Benedict dish I had was overall too salty (chicken and sauce) and the biscuits were way too dry. The burrito that my husband ate made him question if he was biting into small bones from the brisket meat but after thorough investigation, it turns out it was just overly crisped hash brown pieces that were in there (yes, they were really that hard). For context, we were one of the first customers that came in for breakfast as soon as they opened at 7am on a Tuesday so maybe the cook was a little sleepy? Not sure but still wasn’t an excuse to have paid about $55 for two meals we felt were inedible at the end and this is a lot to say for two people who are probably some of the least picky eaters you’ll meet.

If you're in the mood for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Day Maker Half Day Cafe. Nestled conveniently next to other eateries, this charming spot is hard to miss with its inviting exterior and bustling atmosphere. Upon stepping inside, you'll find it filled with patrons enjoying their meals, which speaks volumes about its popularity. During my visit for brunch on a Sunday morning, I encountered the typical wait that comes with great breakfast spots in Austin. However, the anticipation was well worth it!
I had the BEST experience at Day Maker Half Cafe thanks to Andrea! From the moment I walked in, she was so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely kind. You can tell she really loves what she does—and it shows in the way she treats customers. Andrea made the whole visit feel personal and enjoyable. Her attention to detail and great energy truly made my day. On top of that, the food was spectacular—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything was just perfect. If you're stopping by Day Maker Half Cafe, do yourself a favor and hope Andrea is working—she’s amazing!!

Tried out Day Maker Half Day Cafe with our UT Austin student & his girlfriend today. Drea was our server & she went above & beyond to make menu suggestions & check in on us. Ethan, the Manager, was also amazing! He heard we had come for the maple bacon fritters & they were out when we ordered. He came to our table to apologize & said the chef had made a fresh batch and was bringing some for us on the house! The food was incredible!!! You must also try the bread pudding French Toast as it did not disappoint. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will all be back!!

Great wait staff and delicious food. Their atmosphere is chaotically upbeat. Normal weeknights feel like you're at a friend's house for dinner. Game nights make you feel like you're there. Not the place for a quiet night out, but a great spot if you like delightfully rowdy.

My boyfriend and I visited on a Friday evening, close to around the time downtown gets very busy. The girls were very nice and had great personalities! As soon as we walked up you could tell they were having a previous conversation but they stopped immediately to greet us and direct us to where we could sit, which is open seating. We ordered the loaded fries which were pretty good and not to heavy. We also ordered two Long Islands with a twist and they were very well made. My boyfriend was visiting from out of town so we asked the girls if we could get a photo and they kindly said yes! I will definitely be visiting again.

Revelry on the Boulevard is a laid-back, locally owned restaurant and bar located in North Lamar, offering a friendly atmosphere and delicious food. The place is known for its unpretentious vibe and serves up a variety of dishes such as gumbo, ribs, burgers, and cocktails. With special events like Taco Tuesdays and Smash Burger night Thursdays, there's always something to look forward to.
Outdoor seating was well shaded with sturdy tables. The Brussel sprouts appetizer was tasty along with the crawfish fries. The crawfish were very small which was expected. The po’boy was good but the size of the shrimp and the amount of shrimp on the sandwich were not enough. The sandwich was mainly bread, lettuce, and tomato. The batter on the shrimp was well prepared though.

This is a great little bar with a fun indoor and outdoor space. I had the shrimp tacos and the Brussels sprouts. The tacos were really good and came with chips and salads. The Brussels sprouts however were very sweet though still cooked well. The service at the bar was quick and I didn’t have to wait long for food. I will definitely be coming back here to try more on the menu.

Pretty great first visit, must say. I randomly chose this Revelry location for a quick trip after I noticed they offer happy hour specials. Sat at the bar and had a few rounds of HH cold ones. Seemed pretty tame for a Tuesday afternoon, hopefully they get busy on the weekends. They seem to have a great food menu. Which I may swing by for in the future. Def recommend.

We actually had a good time there and the food was tasty. We ordered the brussel sprouts which were excellent! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes which were great. The fish and chips which were a special were okay, but not as good as the others. This places take good social distancing measures and the spacing is nice even on the patio. The service would be the only thing that could be improved. My wife also would have liked more white wine options than just Chardonnay. Overall a good visit and will be back.

Cool vibe, kind of a suburban Austin feel. Great feel, decent food. The atmosphere is upbeat and the staff is great, very attentive. The electronic payment is seamless and easy. There also seems to be plenty of parking and a covered area with water spritzer me for hot days. The food? Well, it’s good for the price. We had brunch. The chicken was slightly over cooked and dry, but very flavorful. The gumbo was decent. nothing to call home about. It didn’t seem to have a good rue bas and no okra, which was peculiar. The Scottish Egg was fantastic with well developed flavors and a perfectly cooked egg. The Brussels sprouts were much too sweet, but some like it that way. I give the food a solid B+ and, at that price point, we certainly did not ruin the mood or experience. In summary, I recommend this place, but focus your expectations on a great time and decent food.

A surprise on the "Lamar Corridor," this place has an excellent cocktail menu with salads that use fried okra instead of croutons. I recommend their refreshing drinks as well as their appetizers. I'll come next time for the mains. The appearance may fool the city dweller: this is not a local dive. This is an establishment that makes high quality stuff without the need for high quality trimmings. I rate this ahead of anything in the Domain, for example.

Great spot on Burnet for drinks and food. Burgers were great, awesome fries really crispy and delicious. Good service, decent price, we had two burgers questions and two drinks for about $65. Would definitely visit again, if you've got a hankering for a good burger this is a great spot. Two patios, clean restrooms, cool Austin artwork.

I decided to try something off the beaten path and first look at this place and it looked closed but there's plenty of parking out back. I would have rated the food higher but the portion of fish to chips was way out. The fish had a good flavor and the batter was just as good. I wish the fish was more like fish n chips and not fish fingers. The fries were super salty. The vibe was cool. There were some loud football fans cussing a loud but it's football season so it was alright. I don't know if I would go back. My co-worker thought the same thing.

With several locations across Texas, including Oak Hill, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and North Shoal Creek, this eatery offers a delectable menu featuring green chile pork poutines, flavorful eggy quesadillas, and refreshing morningish cocktails. A must-try at Jack Allen’s Kitchen is their silver dollar pancake add-ons that are available for all dishes.
My family and I came here for dinner and our experience was amazing. Our wait was 15 to 20 minutes. We were able to sit outside in the patio and enjoy the nice weather and the view of the pond and water fountain. The weather wasn’t too hot or chilly. We arrived here during happy hour and had like an hour left to enjoy the half off prices on drinks and appetizers. All of our drinks were amazing and were made just right. We ordered the nachochitos for our appetizer and it was delicious. My wife ordered the chorizo pork chops, my daughter and I ordered hamburgers. Everything was tasting delicious and amazingly fresh. For the burger the meat is normally cooked to medium but our waitress let us know and asked it was okay for us. So be aware and if medium cooked is not your thing then let them know when ordering your burger. Parking is a breeze because there is a huge parking garage right next to the restaurant. It has both elevator and stairs. Also, if you use Google maps, be aware it will misguide you towards the front of the COOP. Just make sure to the parking garage for parking.

A family member has been here several times and has talked highly about the food so we thought we’d finally try this location. We arrived at a about 4 o clock on a Monday so there was very many customers present. When our waitress came to the table she provided an excellent description of that days specials and when asked provided a good variety of the meals she’d recommend for a first time customer. We ordered the Texas Coast Crispy Shrimp, Chicken Fried Pork Chop and Pesto Marinated Crab Stuffed Chicken. For having very few customers at the time we considered it a long wait for our food to come to the table. (Our family member who had recommended this location had boosted about how quick service had been during his visits). The wait was clearly worth it, the food quality was exceptional. Didn’t have drinks this time but next time it will be get a drink, chill, have a conversation and wait for the food to arrive. We will return.

This was my first time at Jack Allen’s Kitchen. Brittany was our server. She was nothing short of amazing. I can't say enough about the outstanding customer service. She knew the food, drinks, and smiled the whole time. She made my bonus mom’s birthday extra special. She brought out a dessert with ice cream and a candle. I could go on and on about this experience. I will definitely ask for Brittany when we come back.

I had the fried shrimp and barbacoa enchiladas, and both were full of flavor and cooked just right. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything tasted fresh. I ended the meal with dessert topped with ice cream, and it was the perfect sweet finish. Service was very friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made it an easy spot to relax and enjoy dinner. 10\10 I definitely recommend and will be back 🫶🏾

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience at Jack Allen's Kitchen!** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jack Allen's, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfectly captures that cozy Texas charm with a touch of sophistication. The food was the real star—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend the Breakfast Sandwich Scrambled farm eggs & crispy potato birds nest, applewood smoked bacon & jack cheese, brioche bun, chipotle hollandaise, jalapeno mayo, JAK’d up breakfast potatoes -absolutely delicious! Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. The staff overall went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Whether you're visiting for brunch, lunch, or dinner, Jack Allen’s delivers on every level. It's the kind of place you want to return to again and again. Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food was incredible—everything came out hot, fresh, and fast. Our server Sam was amazing—super personable and knowledgeable. He walked us through the menu, made great recommendations, and invited us back for happy hour (which we definitely plan on doing!). The desserts looked mouthwatering, but we were just too full to indulge this time. Without a doubt, we’ll be returning. Highly recommend!

I had my first visit to Jack Allen’s, and I can confidently say it won’t be my last! The staff was so warm and welcoming, and our server really stood out with their knowledge and spot-on recommendations. We started with the Barbacoa Stacker appetizer—such a perfect combination of flavors. For my entrée, I tried the seasonal Blue Crab Ravioli, which was light yet wonderfully satisfying. And dessert? You absolutely must try the Blondie Pie topped with vanilla ice cream—it was the perfect sweet ending. What impressed me most was learning that every ingredient is locally sourced, which makes the experience even more special. Next time I have friends visiting from out of town, Jack Allen’s will definitely be at the top of my list to share with them!

This is one of those places that you go to once and never go back to again. Went with a party of 8, took over 30 minutes to seat us and they weren’t even busy. The server was slow on refilling drinks and messed up on our order. We got some appetizers, one tiny scoop of pimento and 3 chips per plate nearly made me bust out laughing. Wish I had taken a pic of it. The food was presentable but not worth the wait or the price.

Luke's Inside Out is a popular food truck known for its creative and upscale toasted-sandwich creations as well as its Sunday brunch buffet. The menu features a variety of unique sandwiches and daily specials, with options like the Korean Rabbit made with rabbit meat, tater tots, kimchi, Sriracha, and Luke's secret sauce. Customers can enjoy their orders on-the-go or at the nearby Gibson Street Bar.
We ordered the cow, the shrimp, the chicken and the boujee burger. Do yourself a favor and order the boujee burger! All others were good but that burger earned them the five stars in my books. We wanted to try the rabbit sandwich but they no longer sell it 😔. We sat at The Gibson bar and they brought our food over there. *Not judging Luke's Inside Out by the Gibson's slow service on drinks*

Staying in South Lamar and wanted to stay fairly local so I looked up what places to go to, and Luke's instantly jumped to the top of my list. They did not disappoint, I ordered their special which was the Beef Tenderloin and it was spectacular, the tenderloin was so flavorful, juicy, and overflowing. They give you all of your money worth, one of the better food trucks I've ever been to.

Holy wow, this is THE place to try in Austin!!! Stop reading this review, navigate to Luke's, then resume reading while you are in line deciding what amazing things to put in your mouthhole. Luke is phenomenal, and the dishes he creates are unparalleled...in this dimension or the next! Seriously, I hope by now you are reading this while enjoying some of the amazing, and agreeing with every bite. I don't always eat amazing things in Austin Texas, but when I do, they are at Luke's inside out! I highly recommend the seahorse ovaries. Luke knows. Now check out these photos:

Heard about this online. Freakin Delicious burger! Angus beef was a bit rare for my taste but i ate it anyway. Fries were crispy and I had him add parmesan. Highly recommended!

If you want a good burger, ditch fast food & come here… they’ve got a DAMN good burger and it’s made well and has a big patty. We also ventured out and tried the chefs special and it was stellar… totally random but so good. Also, one of the workers, Brian, was so friendly and even gave me some local suggestions. Highly recommend.

While visiting Austin I decided to try this place out (was hungry and in the mood for burger). The burgers they made were one of the best I've ever had.

Oh. My. God. This was THE BEST burger I have ever had!

The Italian roll is amazing!!! Get it! The veggies, the meat, the roll! 😍😍 just the best meal I had in Austin! We also had the church lady burger. It would’ve been good if it hadn’t had what amounted to waaaaaaay too much mayonnaise. Like two tablespoons worth. I would recommend asking for none or for it on the side.

Snap Kitchen in Clarksville is a local grab-and-go chain that offers health-focused takeaway meals, juices, and snacks. They provide nutritious meals in prepackaged, grab-and-go containers that can be ordered online or in-store. The menu allows guests to browse meals based on various preferences such as daypart, protein, diet, allergen, or size. The restaurant also offers an app for easy ordering and delivery options.
I get Snap Kitchen delivered weekly, usually trying something new each time, and everything I've ordered has been delicious. Healthy, high quality ingredients in meals that taste legitimately good. They're slightly on the expensive side, but given the quality and convenience I don't mind. It's worth it not to have to think about meals on those extra busy days during the week, without sacrificing nutrition. There are only two minor things I'd want them to improve: less plastic containers and more large meal options. But regardless I'm a happy customer!
Kyle P — Google review
Bad experience. 1. Didn't delivered at door as instructed, have to delay the hotel checkout time. 2. Food was cold, not even reheated. rice is not cooked properly, the vegetables looks stale and smells bad, sauce is not fresh, have to throw it totally. 3. Quantity is also little, Didn't gave spoons or any cutlery along.
Vicky V — Google review
Overall food is not great. They use way too much salt in their food like they are trying to cover up bad flavor choices like in the Al Pastor chicken bowl. I'm not sure if they're trying to make it tanging spicy, sweet or all three but way too overpowering. Most of the time the pasta and rice isn't either cooked too done or not cooked enough even when reheated in the microwave. But the biggest issue is overuse of salt, unnecessary amounts of salt.

I ordered the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and I’m very disappointed. The lettuce is brown and wilted. Unfortunately, I had the salad delivered so I cannot return it. Lesson learned on my part.

The employees at this location go above and beyond for their customers! They always recommend delicious new plates and help me find what I need within my budget. I am so thankful for this location and I highly recommend you come here for all of your grocery needs. I save so much time buying these quick, healthy, and ready to eat meals! All while staying within my macros, too!

I was highly disappointed that the pictures look more apple than the meal delivered. The size was small. The disclaimer about the food being cold should be in bold letters. If I’m getting food delivered why would I want to put it in the microwave. The customer service was poor and I didn’t get what I ordered. Even after they called to correct the order. I was not happy at all. The green tea is unsweetened super gross.
Zhane B — Google review
We’ve been ordering snap to cover weekday lunches and have been loving it. The meals are full of flavor and well portioned. I’ve been using an app to track and manage daily calorie, protein, etc intake and all I have to do is swipe the bar code and the nutrition info is imported. I also love adding fun beverages and snacks to try out

I really enjoy picking up my weekly meals at Snap Clarksville. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially Lucy. Being a single person it is really great to know I can easily get reasonably priced and nutritious meals- the good vibes from the staff are a definite bonus!
