Colombian restaurant
Latin American restaurant
South American restaurant
Casa Colombia is a vibrant Colombian restaurant located in the heart of Texas' capital city, offering a laid-back setting and a patio for diners to enjoy traditional meat and fish dishes. Despite its name, the restaurant features popular South American cuisine with a focus on authentic Colombian food. The menu includes a wide variety of dishes such as Venezuelan 'patacones,' Peruvian ceviches, and 'ropa vieja.'
If you’re looking for authentic Colombian food that feels like home, this is the place. I was born and raised in Queens, New York, and have been searching for Colombian food that brings back the flavors I grew up with—this spot delivered exactly that. The food was incredible and reminded me of meals from my childhood. We started with the arepas con queso and Colombian chorizo—simple, classic, and full of flavor. My husband ordered the bandeja paisa, and I had the tamal valluno—both were comforting, hearty dishes with generous portions. We even had leftovers to take home! We also grabbed a pan de bono to go, which was perfect with coffee later. The drinks were just as impressive. We ordered the mango colada and maracuyá mojito—both were made right in front of us and were super refreshing. Service was excellent. Our bartender, Daniel, was friendly and made great drinks. Stefany F., our server, was so kind and patient—she really made us feel welcome. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating in the back and some cozy spots near the bar. It’s a great place for lunch, dinner, or a family outing. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for delicious, authentic Colombian food with great service.

Sometimes you have to take a chance to find little hidden gems. Food was very flavorful. Food came out faster than the drinks. Lol Overall I would recommend this restaurant if you're feeling homesick for Latin food or if you want to try something new. Will definitely revisit.

Lulo juice and Mora juice they’re my favorites!! I had Arepa rellena with chicken and is really good and the sauce “ají” is magnificent. Delicious! The staff is very nice and the music too, remind my time in Colombia. POV: if you want to order something for to go, please check your order before you leave the restaurant, because they put an older empanada in my order for to go.
Daniel A — Google review
The food is absolutely fabulous and authentic ! We had the ceviche, medium guava juice with water and the beef patacones rellenos. It did take 20 minutes for us to be greeted & the flies were wild on the patio, but our server was nice and the food came quick once we ordered. Def check out
Mia K — Google review
Upon arrival, the entrance was extremely crowded, creating an uncomfortably warm environment. The addition of ceiling fans or improved ventilation would greatly enhance the guest experience during peak hours. The service was acceptable, though not particularly remarkable. Unfortunately, the food fell far below expectations. I ordered two arepas with chicharrón, and the arepas became hard within minutes. The lack of seasoning and overall flavor was disappointing, not only in this dish but across several other plates we tried. Regrettably, this was one of the most flavorless experiences I’ve had at a Hispanic restaurant. There is significant room for improvement in both the food quality and overall guest comfort.

Love food this kind family style, tasty fast service and very good portion served.

i wouldnt call myself a picky eater but i was a bit nervous trying colombian food for the first time, i did not know what to expect from any plate but man this might be one of my top favorite dishes in austin. i recommend the Bistec a Caballo, its steak topped with a onion-y tomato sauce which is AMAZING. it comes with beans & fried plantains but we like to substitute an extra order of white rice & mashed potatoes. their portions are big so my partner & i like to split this dish!
Christine J — Google review
Absolutely loved my experience here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was cozy yet lively, perfect for both family gatherings and casual hangouts. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time — can’t wait to come back!

Cuban restaurant
Cuba 512 is a cozy Cuban restaurant offering a variety of traditional dishes and drinks. The menu includes sandwiches, classic entrees, and plantain shakes. The restaurant provides an intimate Cuban atmosphere with a solid drink selection, including killer mojitos. Customers can enjoy authentic Caribbean meals such as masas fritas with yuca or sweet plantains. The venue features live music on Fridays and has received praise for its attentive customer service and pleasant ambiance.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. I originally heard about Cuba 512 from an Austin local friend, someone with very high standards for their food, who raved about Cuba 512's happy hour. I had a great time, the food & drinks are delicious, & the prices are so inexpensive for what you're getting. I reached out to Cuba 512 on instagram & asked if they would be interested in throwing a ticketed event with me - Tuky, Cuba 512's owner - not only accepted the challenge, but she went above & beyond. I asked if we could do a custom menu, one bite of each of her favorite dishes from their menu, & then I could have her explain Cuban food & her restaurant's story to our guests. Tuky even prepared trivia after our guests ate & gave our winner a gift card! It was an intimate, classy lil dinner party & they had the perfect team, space, & food for it. They have an entire restaurant & bar space & then a second room for events with its own door, restrooms, bar, and more. I kinda want to have my birthday party here hahaha Zaida (their GM) & Rodrigo (our head server) took care of everything. They checked on me the entire event, the host, & genuinely asked if guests were having fun, if there was anything else they could do for us. I know the menu I asked for was logistically a LOT for a kitchen that doesn't normally do a tasting menu style of service but they killed it. The food is flavorful & delicious every time, the on-site staff are all a bunch of genuine sweethearts, & the owner is a boss woman who really wants to make your dinner or event special. This restaurant better be on your Austin Restaurant Bucket List!!

Good Cuban restaurant overall, menu is limited, didn’t have some of the classic dishes. Staff is friendly, helpful and service is fast. Good selection of Rum. Cafe con Leche is a bit thick and sweet, still good and packed of flavor.
Shocktroop S — Google review
This place was AMAZING!!!! I know nothing about Cuban food and our server was so sweet! She explained all the different options and made helpful suggestions. I have celiac disease + I’m vegetarian and I couldn’t believe how many options I had on the menu. Dietary restrictions were clearly marked on the menu too which was super helpful. My husband had a traditional beef dish and he loved it. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Excellent food and excellent service, will definitely be back soon!
E L — Google review
Came here once pre lock lock down (2020). It was great then, and still holds up 2025. I got El Cubano and the Tostones. El Cubano was toasted to crunchy perfection. While I do wish the mustard had more spice kick, that is not enough to take it down. The sandwich is full of flavor. The pork is juicy but not over greasy. The Tostones are crispy and the mojo has a nice herb blend, not too strong. Definitely going back to try more of the menu.

Great food and I recommend the cuban coffee. Friendly service and plenty of parking. It’s very easy to find. The lunch special is very affordable and plenty of serving.

They accommodated our large group. We had one waiter and he was very attentive and patient and dud and excellent job. My food was delicious, only I got the wrong sandwich ordered, but it was delicious and I ate it anyway. The boiled yucca was sooooo good!

Food was traditionally delicious. Pepe was attentive. Cool young man. Venue was cozy. Small crowd considering it was the 4th. Plan to drive back fron San Antonio to experience the music. Cafe con leche is a must at every place I go. Miami, Tampa, and Orlando are my usual regular stops. This was nice.

Argentinian restaurant
Cocktail bar
Latin American restaurant
Buenos Aires Café is an elegant bistro that offers a taste of Argentine cuisine in a laid-back, bohemian atmosphere. Established in 2005 by Argentina native Reina Morris, the restaurant now boasts two locations and a hidden speakeasy called Milonga Room. The menu features traditional Argentine dishes such as beef empanadas, grilled meats with chimichurri sauce, handmade gnocchi, and delectable desserts.
Enjoyed everything we ordered there. The steak in the sandwich was really tender and well seasoned. The side salad was nice. The polenta and empanada tasted great. Nice dessert options. Will go back!
Palida S — Google review
This was our first time visiting, and everything exceeded expectations. We tried the verdura empanada, cebola & queso empanada, and the beef empanada with chimichurri salsa—each one brought a completely different, exciting flavor profile. The fillings were rich and satisfying, with perfectly baked pastry shells that added just the right crunch. The dark & spicy crème brûlée was the perfect finale—bold, slightly unexpected, and incredibly delicious. The unique flavor combinations kept our palates intrigued from start to finish. A must-try spot if you’re into flavor-forward dishes and crave something a little different. We’ll definitely be back!
R T — Google review
Absolutely love this place but I feel like the food was missing seasoning …we had the mini lomito steak sandwich on the Happy Hour menu, which was excellent. Also, the caipirinha and the Mojito were delicious. The three empanadas trio were good but left to be desired (missing spice & flavor depth)… And then we had the spiral sausage and the roasted carrots, I love the roasted carrots, but also missing flavor spice taste, and the sausage ditto.
Lynxie L — Google review
Great service with a wonderful staff of servers! Everything was good from entering to exiting. The food was awesome, the passion fruit margaritas was excellent and the flan was totally delicious 😋 😀. Oh how can I forget the empanadas are a great choice to start with 😉....trust me😊
Rodney H — Google review
We ate here for the first time today and, unfortunately, didn’t get the wow factor we had hoped for. The restaurant was fairly empty, which we appreciated since we were hungry — but the service fell flat. Our server wasn’t very engaging or helpful, even when we asked for guidance or recommendations. The interaction felt very transactional. We ordered the parrillada (around $70 and does not include any sides) along with three separate sides — all of which were delicious. We had been torn between ordering the parrillada or two individual plates (the entraña and churrasquito), so we asked the server which would offer more protein. He said the parrillada included “all the meats,” but that wasn’t quite accurate — it came with morcilla, two types of sausage, and small portions of churrasquito and grilled chicken. While it tasted good, we left feeling the individual plates might have been a better value and experience overall. As for dessert, we tried the cuatro leches. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to its name — the cake was a bit dry despite sitting in a pool of milk. It felt like something was missing. What stood out most was watching the experience of another table nearby who was also visiting for the first time. Their server took time to explain the menu, made them feel welcomed, and elevated the whole dining vibe with personality and care. We couldn’t help but wish we had gotten that level of service as well.
Johanna V — Google review
This was our first time at Buenos Aires Café, and it did NOT disappoint. We let our server know and she gave us some excellent recommendations. So, when I was having trouble deciding between the gnocchi and the Shepherd’s Pie, she explained the differences. She highlighted the gnocchi as being adventurously flavorful and the Shepherd’s Pie as being more of a “comfort food” type of vibe. I went with the gnocchi and it was very flavorful. It also wasn’t too filling, so that allowed us to get dessert. The Quatros Leches was phenomenal! We loved the whole vibe of the place, and our server was very attentive and accurate in her recommendations. Even though we don’t get to go to Austin very much, we’ll be sure that Buenos Aires Café is a stop we make.
Mario Z — Google review
Such a wonderful spot! We ordered the empanada flight, cocktails and the Parradilla for two with a side of mashed potatoes (pictured.) Highly recommend - especially if you are craving some South American BBQ.
Emily W — Google review
I’d be able to rate it if they actually had something that I ordered available. Instead, I had to get just a salad and water, not the best experience.

Mr. Natural is a family-owned restaurant in South Austin that offers a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The menu includes items for every meal of the day, from appetizers to dinner, as well as snacks and cravings. The restaurant has been a part of the East Cesar Chavez community since the late 80s and is known for its plant-based Mexican dishes like tacos, tamales, flautas, and menudo. The food is absolutely delicious. And the service, impeccable. We ordered the nuggets and the mole enchiladas. SO GOOD! We also got a few baked goods to go. Happy to see so many vegan options of these baked goods.

You ought to check this place, if you are a vegan food lover. From Baked to Bakery to raw vegetarian food spices to frozen items - you have plenty of items to choose to your cravings and enjoy them. The place looks simple and down to earth, but that only stops on the looks. Once you taste the food, you will realize how good it is. Great people, great food, a very good finding for us today.

If you are a vegan in Austin, Mr. Natural is a must try! The staff was super kind and had excellent recommendations. Additionally the interior was spacious with a nice dining experience. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and all those interested in amazing food make sure to stop by! (P.S. try the bakery section 🎉)

Paola is the best. I only go when she's there. The place has such an amazing selection of food. I love that they have all day breakfast. The fact that i can eat at a restaurant, pick up a pastry & buy some food for home all in one place is amazing. It's all local & delicious & healthy. Not to mention how cool it is that it's vegan too. Paola is amazing though. She's so friendly & gives really great table service. I love all the suggestions she gave & she made me feel really welcomed. I'm so glad she's there

Beautiful local restaurant that has the best food for dietary restrictions! I enjoy the migas (traditional) taco, but they also have a vegan migas that tastes just as good! The vegan queso is a tasty treat! Plenty of baked sweets that are mostly gluten free and vegan! As a celiac I know I can enjoy gluten free food here without the worry of cross contact
Faith R — Google review
Mr. Natural has been doing veg in Austin since 1988 and it was honestly refreshing to visit a vegetarian spot that harkened back to a time when the dining format was as unique in a veggie restaurant as it was to find one at all. Point being there is a little learning curve to dining at Mr. Natural in my opinion. You order at the counter, which is the same order spot for baked goods (which are in three different locations), take out, dine in, juice, grab n go or soft serve. So you need to know what you want (definitely preview the menu online) before you step up to the counter and what your objective is. The staff is very, very helpful and will explain the salad bar (which is a whole other thing) and the validated parking situation (which is another). If you get stuff to dine-in, staff will bring it out and call out your name. They will bring silverware but you are on your own to retrieve water (by the salad bar). The other interesting throwback I am more thankful for is the food. Almost everything is made in house and is not overly sweet or salty. In this day and age of frozen beyond burger restaurants I could not have been happier. The mole enchiladas were excellent and I bought waaaay too many baked goods to go. I did not realize beforehand that Mr. Natural had the widest and best selection of vegan baked goods in the Austin area with many gluten free options and beautiful custom cakes! This place will go in my regular rotation and I highly recommend it for a breakfast option. *dog friendly patio

My weekly go-to place; the food, service, and atmosphere makes it feels like home. Food is a bit on the pricier end and worth the splurge every so often. There’s one item that’s not pictured, by the time i remember to take a photo that’s joint is gone. (Yes it’s that good). That is the Vegan Fish Wrap.
Robé P — Google review
Mr. Natural is amazing. They have the best vegan baked goods in town. Every time we have a special occasion, I pick up one of their vegan cakes and they are always delicious. Their food and drinks are amazing too. I love the tacos, the BLT and the spinach pineapple agave drink. This place is a staple in the community and I’m so grateful for them. LOVE YOU MR NATURAL.

Peruvian restaurant
Lima Criolla Peruvian Restaurant is a charming family-owned establishment that brings the vibrant flavors of Peru to Austin. Located at The Linc, this eatery offers a cozy atmosphere adorned with folk art, making it an inviting spot for both locals and visitors. Known for its fresh daily menu, Lima Criolla serves up traditional favorites that are sure to satisfy any craving for authentic Peruvian cuisine.
Every time I come to Texas; Lima Criolla has became a must stop! I was happy to see they have more business this year; Comparing it with 2023 as they have expanded! flavour wise it’s the same; delicious and tasteful Peruvian food, waitress staff are always friendly and fast. Restrooms are very clean; as a mom; to me it was a big plus that the changing table was more high than other restaurants and they had disinfecting wipes. Decoration is so accurate to Peru that makes me feel I’m at my grandmas living room. Highly recommend if you haven’t try Peruvian food 5/5!

My first Peruvian food experience! The Lucuma ice cream had such a unique sandy texture, definitely worth coming back for. The service was very hospitable, and I loved the atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
Saarth D — Google review
Omg everyone must try this restaurant. The service was so nice and informative. The food was amazing. I got the Peruvian beef stew and it was full of flavor. My boyfriend got the steak with egg and the variety that dish had was great! I cannot wait till we come back and try more menu items. It's going to be my boyfriends lunch spot for now on.
Amy V — Google review
Such a great spot! The restaurant was super accommodating, the service was friendly, and the food was incredible. The maracuyá drink was my favorite *so refreshing* and the ceviche was fresh and full of flavor. I also loved the ají de gallina and the empanada, both cooked perfectly. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious and I’d definitely come back again.
Jaina R — Google review
I was born and raised in Lima, Perú and I understand that different families and different regions of Perú make food in their own style. Ceviche does not take cilantro and the shrimp looked like it came out of a can, the Tallarin Saltado had very little flavor and the Sirloin was rubbery. For the price we paid, it should have been a lot higher quality ingredients. The Yucca was dry and the Huancaina had no flavor. On the plus side, the waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful, the location was clean thus 2 stars.
G. P — Google review
Some reviews complain the food is too salty but for me it wasn't salty enough. They should just put salt shakers on the table. The Huacaina sauce tasted like it was from a pouch or glass jar made in a factory somewhere. Didn't seem made fresh. The aguadito was perfect. The papa rellena also would have been better with more salt. A little chopped apple in the chicha morada would have been nice. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices were too high.
Daniel G — Google review
I felt like family. My dish was sooooo good. I could taste the deglsze of my vegetables that were on my plate, in the sauce of my fettuccine. Sooooo goooood. They cater your event or lunch also!!!!!!!
Taco-dozio — Google review
I’ve visited this restaurant several times, and the food has always been great. However, this visit didn’t meet the usual standard in terms of service. My server, Denisse, was pleasant but seemed new. My appetizer came late, and when I was already eating my main course, I still hadn’t received it. When I mentioned it, she didn’t apologize but instead claimed that it was my fault because I ordered late. This was disappointing, as I’ve never experienced service like this here before. Despite that, the food was delicious, as usual, and I’ll definitely return for the food, but I hope for better service next time.

Cafe Nena'i is a charming bakery in Austin, Texas, offering a unique selection of Cuban coffee drinks and South American delicacies such as arepas, alfajores, and empanadas. The cozy coffee shop boasts antique decor and warm lighting that creates a rustic and welcoming ambiance. Visitors can indulge in homemade treats while sipping on South American beverages.
Love this place. The coffee is so good and I was glad they were able to accommodate non dairy milk. I had the beef empanadas and the alfajores. They were delicious. Their prices are very fair and the place is super cute. I do recommend!

This place has good coffee and ok empanadas. The only downside is there is no wi-fi available, so not really friendly to the remote worker.

Loved this cozy bakery! My husband and I have been drawn by the culture and food of Paraguay and we found this place... We tried their empanadas, chipa and pastafrola and they were absolutely amazing... Coffee was great and Elena (owner) was so kind and welcoming. We even had a pleasant and interesting conversation about the beauty of our countries (Puerto Rico and Paraguay). If you want to experience a little bit of the warmth of Paraguay, this is the place. Thank you so much!

Hands down one of the best cafes I have been to. I ordered an item and the owner suggested an item only served on the weekends that was close to what I ordered. I took her suggestion and it was awesome! I got a cold brew with oat milk and caramel. It was delicious! The coffee had a deep, rich flavor. It was extremely affordable! I will definitely be going back!

This Cafe is so cute! I can't believe I went here after a year of living in the neighborhood, they have great pastries and food coffee. 10/10 would recommend

Lovely through and through, a little piece of Latin America here serving the best of everywhere. Arepa, empanada, not a huge menu.

Great little place with excellent coffee and tasty empanadas. This place is unique in its form and style. If you visit, keep in mind, this is a unique experience, not a traditional cafe. The owner is a sweet lady from Uruguay who serves food from South America and coffee made on that style. I recommend it!

I highly recommend visiting Cafe Nena'i if you want to enjoy a delicious coffee in the morning and indulge in a delightful South American breakfast treat. During my visit, I tried their Cafe Con Leche and absolutely loved it. Additionally, their Pollo empanada was very delicious, filled with ample amounts of meat, complemented by a flavorful sauce and a tasty dough. And to top it off, the Alfajor was simply delightful. Overall, my experience at Cafe Nena'i was excellent, and I believe any coffee and food lover will thoroughly enjoy their visit to this charming cafe.

Discover the delectable world of mmmpanadas, a delightful empanada offering that has garnered praise for its delicious flavors and convenient availability. Whether you pick them up from local grocery stores like HEB Plus or Market Street, or visit their trailer at Barton Springs, these empanadas are sure to impress. With options like black bean and chicken chili, each bite offers a perfect balance of crust and flavorful filling.
Um, Hello delicious mmmpanada! I ran across these yummy' delightful empanadas at my local HEB Plus and they are so good; especially for being previously frozen. The crust is on point and plenty of filling to actually satisfy your hunger. The black bean was yummy with a little HEB queso 😁 And the chicken chilie was just as good with a little sour cream. 😋. I'll definitely be buying these again and trying out other flavors. 🤗

I met the owner at HEB she was passing out samples. I'm always looking for something easy, healthy, and of course tasty. I've tried the Argentenian beef, and chicken pot pie. They were both really yummy and the beef wasn't greasy at all. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a tasty quick meal. They go from frozen to ready to eat in 2 minutes.

Amazing Food! I love the green chili chicken and the traditional. The trailer at Barton Springs has so many options for meals or quick snacks as well as ice cold water! love it. The staff is always friendly and helpful. So glad they are sold at HEB so I can get my fix.

Bought 2 frozen mmmpanadas (one chicken green chili, one black bean) from Market Street grocery in Allen Tx. Heated up in the oven per directions and they were very good. I will be buying more.

Girl who works in the barton springs area is not so awesome with customer service.. She's so rude! when i was asking what kind of meat they had for filling she directed me to the sign on the truck like m'am IM ASKING A QUESTION, I'VE NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE!!! Then i come on here to leave a review and find out it was only frozen empanada for $5 and this lady was giving me the most attitude. The bread was actually really good, but the chicken was kind of off, but the worst part was there was a bone in it. I wasn't exactly expecting to choke on a bone when I bought this. This wasn't the worst food experience I've ever had, hence the 2 stars.

Takeout Restaurant
Mi Tradición is a Mexican bakery and cafe that immerses visitors in the vibrant culture of Mexico with its colorful walls and rustic furniture. Upon entering, guests are greeted with the traditional practice of selecting their desired sweets from trays using tongs. The owners, originally from Puebla, Mexico, have expanded their offerings to include not only a variety of bread but also authentic Mexican street-food staples like tacos al pastor and tlacoyos at their adjacent taco and torta eatery.
My family and I have only been to this place twice, and both times it felt like we were on vacation in Mexico. And I mean that in the best way possible. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The guests are mostly native Mexicans (always a good sign). The food is about as authentic Mexican as you can get. The variety of postres (desserts) is over the top, from pan dulces, to flan, to different tres leches cakes). If you're looking for little Mexico in the heart of Austin Texas, La Tradicíon is a must to try.
Jesse K — Google review
This place feels very authentic to me from the freshly baked pastries, warm churros, breads and more come directly from the ovens in the back. We can see so many bakers working in the back working from scratch, not the typical frozen pre-made stuff of other bakeries. Our tasty bread literally came from the oven :20 seconds before it ended in our bag, nothing fresher and better. What’s even better are the prices, so affordable. Skip your trendy shop and buy from an authentic place.
Jesse L — Google review
From the freshly made food, the menu offers plenty to enjoy. Although my cheeseburger wasn't as flavorful and was quite bland. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, with colorful decor that adds to the cultural experience, though it can occasionally feel a bit crowded and slightly messy. But. They really shine in its service, The staff is friendly and quite quick, even during top hours. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, the team goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great dining experience. Overall, it’s a wonderful place.

This is one of my favorite spots to get Pan Dulce, great selection, great taste. Also live that they have a full service restaurant attached serving up some delicious tortas, tlacoyos, tacos y aguas frescas
Erick C — Google review
Great place for food and pastries. We ordered a few items from the menu that are made in the moment. The order takers are friendly and the guys who are giving out the food are cool. My only concern is why they don’t add any sour cream to the torta? Everything was good but the milanesa torta was made with lettuce tomato and milanesa, that was flavorless. The aguas frescas are delicious.
Jose A — Google review
I visited Mi Tradicion in search of freshly made pastries, specifically for concha. The bakery had a wide variety of bakery items as a self-serve style such as concha, cookies, muffins, danishes and other sweets. I purchased a concha, a cookie and what appeared to be a chocolate covered concha. The conchas were not very fresh to be honest, although plenty of items were stocked throughout the evening. I enjoyed the cookie though, it was a thicker, soft cookie and had a good vanilla flavour. I visited during the evening so this may have had an impact on freshness or quality. The bakery itself didn't provide any parchment paper liners or sheets to place inside the metal trays while picking out your items, so this may have been a sanitary concern of mine. Other than that, the bakery seemed clean, although a little outdated in terms of the building itself. Thank you
Melody — Google review
I stopped by during work to buy some churros, and even though I only got five, they were so dry and hard that I couldn’t even bite into them. I’ve bought bread from here before and the quality was always great, but this time I was really disappointed. I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back or recommending this place if the quality of the bread has declined this much.
Eunice J — Google review
I went today for lunch because this place is hidden, but with so many social networks putting this place on. There is nothing over the top about this place, as I bought Neapolitan cake and a huarache shepherd. These two items were very filling, and the blue corn tortilla was the first time I tried it, and it was amazing! The staff is amazing after placing the order it was ready within minutes. Season well, and the ingredients will be fresh. The bakery part was huge as I couldn't leave without buying something, the bread and sweets were wonderful. This panadería is larger than what I've seen in Austin for a while and reminds me of childhood outings and going to a panadería after church. Love this place

"Four Brothers Venezuelan Kitchen" is a hidden gem in Austin, offering delicious Venezuelan cachapas. These sweet corn cakes are filled with a thick layer of mild queso de mano and your choice of pulled pork or shredded chicken. The food is flavorful and fresh, and the service is friendly. It's the perfect place to grab a satisfying meal after a night out on Rainey Street. The crispy cornmeal, warm meat, and tasty sauce make for a delightful dining experience in the heart of Texas.
Our first time trying Venezuelan food, and it was a home run! We were drawn to Four Brothers for their great selection of gluten-free options and the convenient location right across from our hotel. Looking for a light lunch, we both went with the Chef’s Choice Chicken Avocado Salad Arepas—absolutely delicious! The spices were flavorful without being overly spicy, a perfect 10. I also had a refreshing mango juice that paired perfectly with the meal. Definitely a new favorite and a must-visit spot next time we’re in Austin!
Tim J — Google review
Tried Four Brothers Venezuela at the fairgrounds again after a not-so-hot first attempt a while back. That first time? I stood at the counter like I was invisible at a Hogwarts ghost convention. No greeting, no eye contact, no food. Just vibes. Eventually walked away hungry and confused. Today I gave them a second shot because I believe in redemption arcs, and this time someone actually took my order. Progress. I asked for a recommendation and landed on the pork sandwich, Venezuelan style. It came stacked with a generous pile of meat, but good luck trying to eat it without dismantling it like a Jenga tower. The flavor? Not bad, just not something I’d daydream about later. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but I was surprised by how many glowing reviews this place has. I can’t help but wonder if it’s driven more by nostalgia or national pride than the actual food. Would love to hear what someone truly Venezuelan thinks of it.
Adam J — Google review
Good Venezuelan food at affordable prices. The Tequeños and plaintains were nice. They do have two sizes of arepas which I like. I went for the small one and worked well for a light dinner
Ernesto B — Google review
Its and insult to Venezuelan gastronomy & culture I can’t believe this place has any reviews over 2 stars. The service was beyond terrible. Their employees clearly do not want to be there and are rude to all customers, don’t pay attention to orders and don’t care to fix their mistakes. The food is the worst part… they have people from other countries working in this place who have no clue how Venezuelan food is supposed to taste or even look. It is so shameful that Venezuelan food is getting such horrible representation. Everything was fried with old oil and tasted like a really bad Mexican trailer. (There’s a reason there aren’t very many Mexican places in Venezuela…) The supposed “golden arepitas” were a ball of over fried hard dough thick balls with horribly seasoned beef… they had no cachapas which is the main reason we went, and the arepas were as horrible as the golden arepitas. They weren’t even cut right… the employees treated them like a hamburgers… nada que ver! If there’s people who actually like this kind of food.. fine.. but do not call it Venezuelan food!!! People, please know Venezuelan food is about 100 times better than this and true Venezuelans would care.. including the service. Venezuelans are about the friendliest people you’ll ever find. Please skip this place if you want anything related to a Venezuelan experience. Oh also.. $7 for 3 small tequeños… everything sus super overpriced.

This place hit the spot and was so good! The Four Brothers arepa was fantastic and the pulled pork was perfectly seasoned it’s making my mouth water right now thinking about it again. Also got some plantains for a sweet treat and they had some cheese on it which I hadn’t tried before but it was good!!

Budare's is a food truck in Austin run by Carmen Rojas and her daughter Andrea Rincones, offering beloved Venezuelan comfort foods like naturally gluten-free arepas stuffed with sautéed veggies or proteins. The truck provides a taste of traditional Venezuelan cuisine, including the popular dish cachapas. Visitors can expect a communal dining experience influenced by European, West African, and Native American traditions.
Really yummy empanadas and cheese sticks! Made fresh and hot! The sauce goes very well with the cheese sticks too. It’s my first time trying out Venezuelan cuisine and I must say I love it! The owners are very friendly too :)
Lei L — Google review
How many times do you eat in a day? Venezuelans have 3 main meals: a large breakfast, a large dinner (around noon) and a light supper in the evening. Their food is influenced by European, West African and Native American traditions. Their social culture is very much like Asian cultures - collaborative, community based and collectivist. So if you visit someone in Venezuela they will feed you! Cachapas is one of their most popular dishes and my favorite too. It is a thick, tasty pancakes made from maize (sweetcorn) and served with a slab of white cheese called “queso de mano”, topped with lashing of margarine. The sweetness of the maize and the creaminess of the cheese paired. Add a bit of pulled pork or shredded beef and it provides an explosion of flavors from the texture and saltiness of the meat. Cachapas in Venezuela’s culinary history dates back to pre-Colombian times. The indigenous people used stone pestles to grind corn and cook it on clay budares flat griddle plates cachapa-style. Originally only made by the locals in the state of Bolivar, you can now enjoy it right here at Budare’s on Burnet. It was lovely to meet Carmen at Budare’s. They have been serving Authentic Venezuelan food in Austin for several years now. They were the first Venezuelan food truck in Austin and they paved the path for others to open as well. We can delightfully say we have added another Venezuelan favorite to our list alongside @auroravenezuelanfood

It was really good ! I got a pabellón bowl, and my boyfriend the cachapa with Shredded Chicken with runny egg and friend plantains. It was delicious. My boyfriend really loved the cachapa so much it became his favorite. We will come back. The cilantro sauce was a must, and it was tasty. It was also very affordable and the amount was very reasonable

Loved the food. I have always loved Venezuelan food, so it's so great to find a great place in Austin. This trailer is part of a cool trailer park on Burnet Rd. Go early as they run out of stuff but regardless it's all good. Favorite treat is the passion fruit juice. Fantastic cachapa.

Their fried plantains served with a creamy green sauce are delicious (oily, of course, but sweet yet savoury fried goodness). I ordered a cheese (veg) Cachapa but was served a Veg mushroom Arepa instead 🥲 it was still tasty but not what I ordered.
Malavika K — Google review
Hands down the best Venezuelan spot I've tried anywhere in the U.S. I tried the cachapa, beef and plantain arepa, and empanada with plantains and beef and they were each super good. The arepa had the best crunchy texture I've had on any arepa. The woman running the truck, Carmen, was super amazing and full of passion for her food. The quality of the food reflects her passion. Highly recommend if you're in Austin

Reina pepiada arepa was amazing! The cilantro sauce and plantains were delicious. My husband got the carne mechada cachapa and the tequeños and everything we had was 10/10. Sad it took us this long to discover this place, and can’t wait to come back for more!!
Chelsea D — Google review
We got empanadas and the woman working made them from scratch on the spot. They were very yummy! The dough was a little sweet and the beef was very flavorful. A great combo. The cheese was great too. We had empanadas with just cheese and just meat. I'm not sure if there's one with both, but I'll ask next time. There was also green sauce, which wasn't spicy but was very good. The entire menu was very well priced.

The food at the food trailer was very tasty. I was able to watch them cook it. The salsa on top provided a good, clean contrast to the fried plantains. Would love to rate it higher but the cost was a bit high and we only tried the fried plantain dish. My wife and I will be back to try more food soon.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST COLOMBIAN FOOD IN AUSTIN. I adore this place, I order one to two times a week. The only reason I drop a star is because the almost always mess a part of my order up. Habana Restaurant is a tropics-themed Cuban outpost located on South Congress Street in Austin. The restaurant offers a wide range of Caribbean and Cuban dishes, along with an impressive selection of mojitos. Guests can enjoy their meals in outdoor cabana-style seating, adding to the tropical ambiance. The expansive menu features delectable options such as slow-roasted pork sandwiches and crab and lobster cakes.
Of all the places we ate over this long weekend (Chuy's, Corner Restaurant, Eberly's, In-and-Out, Geraldine's, Terry Black's to name a few), Habana's was easily our favorite. The staff is courteous, giving us space to enjoy the meal yet attentive in making sure our drinks were topped off (10/10 for the mojitos!) The atmosphere is authentic and relaxing. The Empanada Sampler is INCREDIBLE: I could eat that marinated chicken one all day, every day. I love the little details, too - each flavor has a different crimped edge, so it feels like the chef really cares about what's being served. The Island style guac is so inventive, delicious, and fresh. I'm for sure going to try and replicate the recipe. Folks say it's too expensive for what you get, but for these flavors, I'll gladly pay. They deserve every cent!
Brittnie H — Google review
We stopped in during the rainy 4th weekend by chance and wow did we love this place!! The drinks were so fresh and phenomenal. We had the tea summer cocktail, an old fashioned and the mango drink. All were excellent. I had the sliders app and the beef empanada for my meal- both were fantastic. Lots of flavor in the slides, perfect Cuban. The empanada was perfectly crispy but still tender, filled to perfection. The star of the meal was their chimichurri. Our server was gracious enough to give me a big to go of it! Absolutely fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their dishes - all the meats were so flavorful and tender. The plantains were perfect, according to my Peruvian friend! We finished with the tres leches and that was the best I’ve ever had as well. I absolutely loved this meal and would happily return!

Nice little restaurant in an unassuming building. Service was great but the food was expensive for the quality of the food you get. The beef empanada and the tres leches was really good. My wife really enjoyed the flan, however the rest of the food was mediocre. The atmosphere was nice and quiet and the service was really good.

Love this little place! Super cute ambiance and decor. I was craving a Cuban sandwich, and it hit the spot! I also ordered an empanada which came with chimichurri on the side, which one had never tried with an empanada, but it was actually pretty good!

Havana offers a truly inviting and vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complements its menu of savory, delectable dishes and expertly crafted cocktails. Whether you're stopping by for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a celebratory evening out with friends, this place never disappoints. The flavors are bold and memorable, the drinks are refreshing and well-balanced, and the overall vibe makes you feel like you're on a mini escape. I highly recommend Havana for any meal, any time of day, and any occasion—it’s an experience worth savoring!

I was visiting from California. My bro in law recommended this place for Cuban/ Puerto Rican cuisine. Cozy environment. Food was good. Got sampler platters to try variety. It was big servings. Loved the plantain chips. Pricing was between $20-25 per plate. Definitely a place to try out if in area craving Cuban/ Puerto Rican flavor.

YALL. This is a GEM. It’s very rare that I experience a taste that I’ve never tasted, but my tastebuds were SURPRISED at all of the rich flavor that Habana had to offer. We are vegetarian, and there is a clearly marked vegetarian section of the menu that is not half-ass, it’s full flavor and full richness! I was so happy to find a Picadillo with Impossible Meat instead of beef. The empanadas with the crazy sauces and the plantains blew our minds. The cherry on top was the Cuban sodas 😋Anthony was a very sweet and fun waiter and super knowledgeable about the whole menu! Highly recommend checking this place out!

Cute yellow building! Loved the vibes when we came in. Cashier was super helpful and nice. But, the portion size on the salmon plate was small. They gave lots of sides but not nearly enough salmon to finish the plate. The large pear bacon scallion was interesting. The portion size was good but the textures were a bit weird for my palette. Also got a vanilla hazelnut latte (per the cashier’s recommendation) and it was delicious!
Bailey M — Google review
A great little brunch place. Came with a friend and was pretty impressed. Their small pancakes are bigger than you think and so delicious. I really liked the Bacon Cheese Pancake it was $10 but good lord it was tasty. It was even more delicious with their hot sauces they have on the side table inside. The Pear Bacon Scallion pancake was ok, not my favorite but different. Their French Toast is pretty good with the maple-pecan-espresso butter. They also serve quiche which was really good! They also have drip coffee you can get yourself which was really tasty. They don’t have much seating or parking, so keep that in mind! They do have a few outside patio tables as well.

We ordered the classic plate, an omelette, and the pulled pork sandwich. The food was pretty bland. I did like the pulled pork but it was too small of a sandwich for the price I think - it didn’t come with a side, just a few pieces of fruit. Wish I tried the coffee so can’t say anything about that. The first person we dealt with at the register wasn’t very personable but the person that was there when we left was nice. The place is cute and cozy but you can find better food other places.

Great cafe for breakfast. The pancakes taste great and the coffee is good. The whole store is comfortably furnished with many tables where you can also make a good laptop. In addition, there is a small corner with a very comfortable sofa.

Use the northbound lane of Guadalupe to get into the new location! If using the southbound lane, turn left just after the old CVS, because otherwise a lane partition in the middle of the road blocks you. I adore Pacha's especially for their pear pancakes, which are so good I don't even use syrup. I love their vibe, which they have carried with them to the new Guadalupe location where they finally have some room to breathe. The servers have always been kind and everything I have tasted here over the years has been fantastic. I'm not a coffee person, so I love that they carry a good variety of fair trade loose leaf tea from Zhi Teas, including a delicious Yerba Mate. I'll miss the old spot but I came here for comfort pear pancakes after a long morning and I walked away satisfied and definitely comforted. Thank you, Pacha's!

Also look for places that offer different items than what you would expect at breakfast and use fresh organic ingredients to prepare their menu items. I'm happy to report that Pacha did not disappoint. The environment of the cafe is warm inviting and friendly. The hot chocolate in Cafe Mocha or absolutely delicious and made from scratch. The Hallmark of our meal was the pear scallion and Bacon pancake which is probably the best pancakes I've ever had. The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection and the service from the staff was wonderful! I highly recommend checking out it's adorable breakfast spot.

Tried the Beef Hash which had a clean flavor but would have liked it a bit more flavorful. Pacha Latte was very delicious with a unique taste. Parking was very limited and I ended up parking sideways in the back parking lot. I was paranoid about parking so I was unable to get comfortable despite the energy in the cafe being very cool and laid back.

The Picnic - Food Truck Park is a popular outdoor dining destination with a diverse selection of food trucks and retail vendors. Located near Barton Springs, it offers a BYOB policy and features high-quality trucks such as Coat & Thai, The Burger Truck, Cannone Cucina Italiana, and Boteco. Open seven days a week, this quirky trailer park hosts nine different food trucks throughout the year, including Yapa Artisan Empanadas and more.
This is one of my go to when it comes to food trucks in Austin. I love that They have ample free parking. Right now they have seven trucks which are usually open at the same time. It’s pretty well lit and they play good music (old school). The only thing I would say is they need to work on updating the heaters and bathrooms. Although they’re locked, I feel like they need more care and the hot water doesn’t work. I tried 4 (Habibi, Tacos, Pete’s Cajun Seafood, and Coat & Thai) out of the 7 trucks and all of the food was delicious!

We ordered at the Thai restaurant, I don't like the point that a food truck place includes a place that sells stuff not suitable for children. I had a hard time explaining to my kids that those Gummies and stuff is not for kids. And those trucks don't carry food they advertise. So we ended up ordering Thai. The restrooms are locked. It just an weird experience.

The Picnic Food Truck Park is such a great Austin spot! 🌮 Came during ACL weekend and was impressed by how fast and friendly the service was, even with the crowds. There’s tons of seating, amazing food options, and a fun atmosphere — perfect for hanging out and trying new bites! 🎶🍔

We have a deep seated love for food trucks so being in an area swarming with them was a dream. We had hoped to visit a handful of FT parks but ran out of time so The Picnic is the only one we made it to. BUT, it was such an awesome experience we have no remorse! We sampled food from 5 different trucks & every bite was heaven. Seating area covered & clean! Very reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!!!
Mrs M — Google review
Enjoyed this food truck park so much that we came back the next day! Ample parking and lots of picnic tables (hence the name?) under a large awning. It’s open but you also won’t get rained on or have to sit in direct sun. Great variety among the trucks. We especially enjoyed Coat & Thai (try the Yellow Curry and/or the Pad Thai!). Habibi was also delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options. There’s even a truck that sells dog treats so four-legged friends aren’t left out. This place has something for everyone and is a definite standout even in Austin’s crowded food truck park scene.

Gave us two different sized rolls and both were small at that. They were really busy that by the time we noticed when we got to our table it wasn’t worth the hassle and we were just hungry. The rolls weren’t worth it for how expensive they were

Jamaican restaurant
Bikkle Jamaican Restaurant is a popular restaurant in London that specialises in Caribbean cuisine. It has a wide range of dishes, including jerk chicken, and is known for its friendly atmosphere and excellent service.
This has definitely got to be one of the best Jamaican places in Austin. The jerk chicken with stew chicken sauce and rice was incredible. The rice, mixed with beans, was outstanding—so flavorful it could be a dish on its own. Combined with the sauce, it created my favorite flavor pairing. The chicken was smoky, tender, and packed with flavor, while the oxtail was melt-in-your-mouth tender and absolutely delicious. The standout for me was the jerk chicken eggroll, which I could eat every day. It had hints of sweetness from the fried plantain flavor, and the jerk chicken inside was perfectly cooked—better even than the chicken plate. The fresh vegetables made a great side, and I can’t wait to return and try everything on the menu. They do run out of plantains quickly, so get there early if you want it. For the quality, I’d say the price is more than fair, and their late opening hours are a bonus if you’re craving a meal when everything else is closed.
Diana X — Google review
Highly recommend Bikkle if you're looking for casual no-frills spot to eat the most authentic and delicious Jamaican food in Austin. The atmosphere is laid-back, with good vibes, good music, and a friendly family who clearly puts love into every dish. We love eating Bikkle because it feels less like dining out and more like going over to a friend's house for home-cooked food.

This was by far THE best Jamaican food I’ve had… and I’ve been to Jamaica! First time trying curry chicken and I literally thought I died & went to heaven because it was so good. I wish they would have had the goat in stock when I visited. Oxtail were amazing & everything else I had. Love that it seemed to be family owned & operated. This place should be PACKED out!!!! Go and try it all (-:
Isaiah B — Google review
I’m not leaving a 1 star because the food wasn’t bad but it was incredibly overpriced.. I ordered food to share with my wife it was the 2 chicken plate and the oxtail plate with 2 patties a curry chicken and beef patty, 68$ the chicken was good so was the oxtail but like some of the reviews were saying it didn’t seem super authentic, just another style of food spot on the strip, this is one of those places that you try once, and move on, it’s not worth the price at all 4 pieces of barely medium size oxtail and the double chicken was just 2 pieces of the leg with thigh piece and 2 strips of plantain and not that many sides, the patty’s were just average, just saying paying almost 70$ for less than 10$ of ingredients is pretty wild…
Artur S — Google review
Visiting from Philly, Jamaican food is not the first thing that comes to mind in ATX, but I urge you to make a stop As the owner and I discussed, it’s his grandmothers recipe and you can absolutely taste the layers of love Some of the best oxtails and gravy I’ve ever had. Rice and peas, cabbage and plantain wonderfully cooked and perfect texture. Everything is well seasoned in the layers of the cooking process, so it’s seasoned without being overpowering The owner at the register also has a loving spirit and clearly takes pride in his dishes. Please make a stop! You see my smashed plate!
Kara L — Google review
Back in 2023, it was great spot! The food quality declined which made us search for great tasting JA food elsewhere. I recently came upon a gem in Pflugerville called Kings and Queens which took me back to the authentic flavor Bikkle used to have. So, yes, I'd highly recommend this other great spot! It's a bit far for me, but worth the drive! You're welcome! 😊
Linda D — Google review
The food is excellent authentic Jamaican food with a truly Jamaican menu. The had regular rice and peas and gungo( pigeon) rice & peas. I tasted my food and could not stop eating. Quick service. My new must stop in Austin
Ten — Google review
The food and service was great. The atmosphere could be worked on. The music was great. The windows were dirty. They could use a good window cleaning, some plants and some pics of some reggae artist, some pictures of the Caribbean or something like that to make it aesthetically, pleasing and enjoying. But if you’re just looking for a good place to eat or carry out, this would be it.

Venezuelan restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Cedar Park, Aleidas Restaurant is a delightful haven for lovers of Latin American cuisine. This laid-back eatery serves up an impressive array of Mexican and Venezuelan dishes that are bursting with authentic flavors. The warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home, while the friendly service adds to the overall experience.
Flavorful Venezuelan Food & Friendly Atmosphere in Cedar Park! We had a wonderful experience at Aleidas Restaurant, a cozy Venezuelan spot located in the heart of Cedar Park. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We ordered the Vegetarian Plate ($19.28), which included one arepa or tortilla (corn or flour), two eggs (fried or scrambled), black beans, avocado, tomato or pico de gallo, and mixed cheese—every bite was satisfying and well-seasoned. The service was fast and welcoming, and the environment was clean, bright, and very family-friendly. It’s a place that makes you feel at home. Plenty of parking is available, which is always a plus. Whether you’re craving authentic Venezuelan dishes or looking for a great vegetarian option, Aleidas is a must-visit in the Cedar Park area!
Mary M — Google review
Tried Aleidas Restaurant for the first time and overall had a good experience. The Venezuelan burger was delicious—juicy, flavorful, and packed with toppings. The arepa was also tasty and authentic, though it was a bit too greasy for my liking. One downside was the french fries—they were cold when served, which took away from the overall meal. That said, the main dishes were solid and worth trying if you’re craving Venezuelan comfort food. Will definitely come back to try more items from the menu!

Aleida’s has become a family favorite. The food is delicious, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere in their new location is beautiful and inviting. I love how it’s decorated with a colorful mural, florals, greenery and fun light fixtures. Benito, the owner, is so nice. Always asks about our family and how our daughter is doing in school. We’ve been coming here for over 2 years and we’re so excited for their expansion. They now have a full bar, sit down service available inside and patio seating (with fans!). The food is so good. Our favorites are the arepas and the cachapas pabellón. The seasonings and flavors are perfect. We’ve also had the tequeños con queso and the tequeños con guava. They are melt in your mouth amazing. My favorite dessert is the tres leches. It is by far the BEST tres leches in the Austin area (and I’ve tried many!) I love the new menus are made with embossed leather and wood and are clearly marked for which dishes are favorites, spicy, vegetarian, and gluten friendly.

I absolutely love this place. Each time I've been I was served by the owner and he was an absolute delight. He was so kind! He gave my 10 month old son fried plantain and just doted on him. Besides the owner being so sweet, the food here is amazing. The queso is the best I've ever had. The patacon is my favorite entrée and the arepas are huge! I've been three times and each time I've found something new to try and love. The menu is expansive! There's still food I want to try there! To top it all off, the interior decoration is very colorful and modern! In case you can't tell, Aleidas is one of my favorite restaurants.

What an awesome gem in Cedar Park. The food was delicious, but the highlight of our experience was Benito, our server. He is the owner and really just did an excellent job helping us choose what to order and explaining in detail everything we asked. He was attentive and friendly and really just did a great job. Our food was amazing, and he was too. Thank you! We will certainly be back soon!

We’ve been here almost every week since we first tried Aleida’s! It’s been so nice to have Colombian/Venezuelan food and ambiance in this area. Everyone who works there is extremely attentive and the food and drinks are delicious. I love the music and the decor, too. Dog friendly since they have a patio. We are sure to become regulars.

Aleidas Restaurant is welcoming , beautiful and has such a nice uplifting vibe. My daughter and I just had a lovely lunch experience there . The drive-thru window provides convenient access to their excellent coffee and food options, including piping-hot empanadas and flavorful arepas.
Great place for a quick bite. They have a great selection of food and it’s very affordable. They also have a drive thru, a nice patio but parking is limited. The coffee and food is fresh and they have chess boards. There is also a bar

Came here with a friend because I drove by and noticed they were a Colombian place. As a Colombian myself I love finding different places to eat that have flavors of home. We ordered quite a few things and every single one of them was delicious. The flavors were perfect snd I would come back if I lived here. Coffee was delicious, not too sweet. Perfectly brewed. We loved it! Muchas gracias, estaba rico.

This place is absolutely amazing! I drove by for a couple of years before trying it, and then went to the drive through. The chai end the coffee drinks are delicious. Every single food i've tried is amazing, but my favorite thing is the chicken creptaco. Finally went here tonight to go inside. For the first time and found an adorable bar with excellent service and delicious food and drinks!

This place used to be an actual COLOMBIAN coffee place. The interior used to be thoughtfully designed and very authentic to Colombian culture. Apparently now it’s owned by a new president who has turned it into something that resembles a cheap 6th street rock bar. I suggested this place to meet a Latina work colleague and was SO embarrassed at what it’s become I apologized for bringing her here. As a Colombian I’m incredibly disappointed in how they’ve ruined this place. I used to be proud to share this friends and family. The colorful photos are what it used to be vs what it is now and Elvis shrine 🙄

Stopped at this little place cuz it looked pretty cool. However, super disappointed. We bought two breakfast tacos and ordered bacon on one and ham on the other and we didn't check them before we left and we had neither one of those on our tacos even though we paid extra for them. Coffee was just so so as well. Highly suggest you check your food before leaving from this place. What a waste of time and money!
David W — Google review
I have been here since it started and have seen the transformation of the place, it used to be really really nice inside with plenty of space for sit downs and family oriented vibes, large tables for groups and study sessions. Since then they have pivoted to more of a bar scene, with an inside bar, needed that for the Texas heat, and night time with concerts and stages. I missed all the nice plants, paintings and coffee shop vibe back in the day. The place still serves good food, get the empanadas, very friendly staff and still good coffee. Definitely something I would visit in Austin if I'm on the south side anytime, highly recommend stopping by for the cheese bread. Best cheese bread in town unless they run out 😔 Also they have a drive through and patio outside that's usually 🐕 friendly. ♟️ chessboard is a new nice touch
Hon L — Google review
This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Austin! I have been coming here for almost a year now, and they never fail to disappoint in any area. Their food is extremely delicious and authentic, and the inside atmosphere itself is very nice and relaxing for working remote since they have WiFi and outlets. They also have an outdoor area that can be nice for morning coffee or working remote if the bipolar Texas weather permits lol. I do love that they have a drive thru for when I’m on the go and need a quick coffee stop (Starbucks who??)! Service is quick and efficient despite how busy it is. My personal favorites for coffee are the Sweet Bee and the Houston Bogota (yes they have milk alternatives) and you cannot go wrong with their empanadas or pataconcitos. Best bean dip ever lol. 11/10 recommend this place, especially if you’ve never had Colombian food or coffee! Wonderful people and place! Thank you to the staff for always going above and beyond to make my experience great!

The Doughminican is a popular food trailer in Austin, known for its savory empanadas and other Caribbean dishes. The mother-and-son team behind this Dominican food truck has been serving up impeccable empanadas since 2016. Their red-wine-and-oregano-soaked beef picadillo is a standout, but the ratatouille and chicken options are also highly praised. Customers love the generous fillings and the perfect balance of crispiness in every bite.
The Empanadas were so good I regret not ordering more. They were crispy, cheesy and very flavourful. I would give them a higher rating if I could. The owner was very friendly and patient while taking my order (I'm pretty clumsy at ordering food). I would definitely go here again.
Abhinav V — Google review
I ordered the beef empanada ($5) and also had a bite of the ratatouille one. I enjoyed the ratatouille, but the beef empanada was my favorite. They come with chipotle mayo and green sauce, but I thought the beef empanada was seasoned so well and had enough flavor on its own so I didn’t end up using the sauces. The beef empanada contains delicious melted cheese that oozes out, and I believe the ratatouille empanada also had some cheese. They come out super hot, so I’m sure if I ordered them to go they would still be warm by the time I got home. This spot definitely satisfied my empanada craving. I loved that it’s part of a food truck park, so you can explore other food options as well. I tried the brisket and cheddar kolache from Kerlaches, and if I had to choose between the two I would definitely pick the beef empanada from The Doughminican!
Mariana G — Google review
I am speechless. This place is incredible. I’ve had empanadas from so many places and thought I knew good. I was WRONG. These empanadas have set my new standard. Not only is the bread flaky and moist but the inside is PACKED with meat. If you’re debating between the chicken and beef, go with beef. Chicken is also good but the beet is phenomenal. My boyfriend brought me to this place after going for the first time 5ish months ago and they remembered him, even called him by name. Such friendly sweet people running this place. I cannot wait to go back.

Great empanadas! One of the best I tried. The ratatouille one, with only veggies, is definitely my favourite. Such a delicacy, well made and soft fried dough shell. Remember to bring your physical card, because they don’t accept Apple Pay.

Doughminican is one of our go-to spots! These are the best empanadas I've ever had. I always get the ratatouille empanada and you have to try to tostones. The two sauces make their food even more delicious. I also love getting their limeade! The best part is Anette and Melvin are so nice to us!!

What a wonderful spot to come eat! I grew up eating and making Empanadas and Tostones with my Mom as a kid, and I have to say that these are the best Empanadas I've ever had. They're packed full of filling, which was super moist and comforting. The owners also both bring such a great energy, and you can tell they put passion into what they're making. Tostones were also bomb, and the fried Garlic oil garnish was the best. Refreshing Pineapple juice too, and I will be back and spreading the word! :)

The menu features an array of empanadas, each generously filled and uniquely branded for easy identification—perfect for those who want to sample different flavors without confusion.
This is a really unique little business. It's in a very small strip center. And when you walk in, it's just really cool. It's decorated well. Enough tvs and Pool was very gracious and helped me with my choices. Incredible tasting Empanadas. The only thing is they were a bit small, but they were filled very full, and they sure took the hunger off. One thing I loved is that each one is branded with what kind it is. That way, you don't get them mixed up in the box like you do. Let's say with kolaches and such. Also, you get a couple of free ones. If you buy a dozen.

My wife had heard about this place so we tried for a late lunch yesterday - definitely a good choice! We tried a variety of savory empanadas, all very good and the pastry section of each was outstanding. I also had an Argentinean salad, large and refreshingly delicious (want to try the Mandarin orange salad next time). For dessert we split one of the apple empanadas, so good we immediately ordered more to take home plus some additional savory ones for dinner. The facility is very nice with friendly service and good music too. We will definitely return!

Was vibing to try something new today, have passed by this kinda hidden spot plenty of times… sooo glad I decided to try it, going to be my comfort place to go this summer. On top of the food being absolutely so delicious, the drinkable chimmichurri oil, and the perfectly sweet and savory dessert treats… the atmosphere was warm and cozy, welcoming enough for a few rounds and a relaxing after work breath!

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The empanadas are absolutely phenomenal, crispy on the outside, generously filled, and full of flavor. They offer a great variety and everything I tried was delicious. What really impressed me, though, was the customer service. There was a small issue with my order, and the staff handled it so quickly and kindly. Santi was super accommodating, genuinely apologetic, and made sure we left happy. It’s rare to find a place where people care this much about the customer experience. Between the delicious food and the warm, attentive service, this is hands down my favorite empanada spot in Austin. Highly recommend, both for the food and the people behind it!

Third time here - today absolutely horrible/ ordered 12 , with special got 14. We ordered an assortment. I am Argentinian, want to support my cuisine. However one person working the whole restaurant, although professional and kind not good management to have one staff run the food, bar, baking and busing tables. Our empanadas were dry, burnt and not pleasant to eat.

I finally stopped into Little Patagonia after passing it for a long time and was instantly impressed. The interior was cozy and stylish, a nice mix between a restaurant and cafe in the absolute best way possible. The staff were super friendly, they took the time to chat and gave me some great recommendations. I went with the spicy brisket and park, both were phenomenal. The flavor was super rich and savory with just enough spice to have a kick without being overpowering. The dough was thin, flakey, and golden. It was perfect! I grew up only eating Puerto Rican empanadas so I wasn’t sure what to expect but this place blew me away. Amazing food, great vibes and kind people. An absolute 5/5 that I’ll definitely be back to

This restaurant is within another restaurant, and it took us quite a while to be noticed and seated amongst the confusion. The food was pretty good, but the restaurant's menu is more of a mixture of Mexican and Brazilian food rather than true Brazilian food. Although I am sure that there are other reasons to visit this food truck park, Cuantos Tacos is really the only one you need. Wow! Best tacos ever. Also the suadero quesadilla is the best ever. Really, everything at Cuantos Tacos is the best ever. The food truck park is well maintained, has good seating options and picnic tables, and a station in the center for trash and making sure patrons can easily clean up after themselves. There’s good parking and the area is pleasant. It’s a neighborhood gem and absolutely worth a stop when I’m Austin. Did I mention the tacos?

Great variety of food choices including BBQ, Thai, Venezuelan, pizza, tacos and burgers. Nice tree-shaded picnic tables, small dog park and off street parking.

Birú Cocina Peruana is a culinary gem that truly captures the essence of Peruvian cuisine. Known for its mouthwatering empanadas, particularly the meat variety, this restaurant offers an array of dishes that are sure to delight any palate. Diners rave about the lomo saltado and aji de gallina, both bursting with authentic flavors. The ceviche is a must-try, alongside their delectable potatoes served with house-made salsas and ajies.
I got seats at Peruvian Supper Club to celebrate a friend's birthday, but I screwed up and told everyone the wrong time. Chef Julio very generously let us come late and experience our four-course Peruvian meal. All of the dishes were fantastic, unique, and we loved hearing his explanations of all the dishes and ingredients.

I wish I could leave 10 stars! Julio catered our wedding with a special curated menu, and it was the most memorable part of the entire night. I had friends tell me it was most delicious food they’ve ever had, and it really was! Everything he made was divine. The ceviche, empanadas, lomo, oh my goodness the lomo! Truly A+++ service, from set up to clean up, I could not recommend them enough. I will definitely be using them again! Thank you guys for being a part of our special day!

I knew this spot for great Peruvian take out but I recently attended a group dinner with some friends. Totally worth it!! Really excellent food . Great flavors. Creative chef. Impeccable service. Get your friends together and book the patio for a little ceviche party !!

The Biru Chef’s dinner is an awesome experience! Whether you already love Peruvian food or you are exploring new foods, you will love this. Each dinner is unique so you can definitely enjoy this experience multiple times. We will be going back for sure!

I’ve tried all the Peruvian restaurants in Austin and this one is hands down the best! I am from Peru and grew up eating Peruvian food, so I have high standards and Chef Julio exceeds all of them. Their lomo saltado is a dream, the ceviche has all the right flavors, textures, and ingredients. I have not had anything that I haven’t loved. Go check it out, you will not regret it! It’s absolutely delicious!
Darnella R — Google review
Delicious dinner! Chef came out and introduced each course, explained how and why each specialty Peruvian ingredient was used — even pointing out regions in Peru on his very handy forearm Peru tattoo! Everything was fantastic, well seasoned, tasty and unique.

I’ve been following chef Julio Cesar at multiple restaurants around Austin for many years. He is a superstar. If you’ve never tried his Peruvian food you are missing out! Aji de gallina , Lomo Saltado, Peruvian roasted chicken (he sometimes takes orders for) and of course Ceviche. I’ve eaten at Biru, gotten delivery and done a private dinner with a group of friends. The flavors and experience are outstanding!

I am Peruvian, born and raised, and very picky with my Peruvian food. I have tried all the Peruvian restaurants in San Antonio, Austin and Houston and I can’t say enough good things about BIRU! The meat empanadas are OUTSTANDING, the lomo saltado and aji de gallina are great, their potatoes with the house salsas/ajíes are to die for and the ceviche…well, you must try it! Another great dish is the arroz con mariscos and now they added carapulcra to the menu! Like this is not enough, the chef is such a nice guy and willing to talk to you about his creations! Do yourself a favor and go try this jewel in Austin.

If you're on the hunt for mouthwatering empanadas, look no further than Yapa Empanadas! I had the delightful experience of tasting their offerings at various events, including the Austin NYE celebration and Mueller Farmers Market. Their Al Pastor and Come & Calla brisket empanadas are simply divine, boasting a perfect balance of flavorful fillings wrapped in wonderfully crafted dough. The Peruvian Chicken and spinach with goat cheese options also stand out as delicious choices that make for a satisfying meal.
I’m new to this area and just trying places - these are quality empanadas. I really enjoyed the brisket. Excellent Chimichurri. I don’t write reviews much but these guys deserve some attention.
Jeremy S — Google review
My husband and I have been going to Yapa for 4 years and I’m sad to say things have gone a bit downhill. Over the last few years, prices for their empanadas have gone from $6, to $7, to now $8. I know inflation and costs of everything have gone up, so that’s understandable. But with that, they’ve cut back the menu - no longer offering our favorite La Borracha - likely to streamline. And unfortunately they’ve stopped offering their amazing chimichurri sauce. With prices going up and options, product going down, it’s hard to justify coming back. Please bring back the chimichurri!

Had the pleasure of having these empanadas at the Austin NYE celebration at Auditorium Shores. Their Al pastor empanadas and their Come & Calla brisket empanada hit the spot! Wonderful dough and just the right amount of filling. 10/10 would eat here again and try ALL of their empanadas!

My spinach and goat cheese empenada was a delicious lunch.
Jonathan W — Google review
I tried them at the Farmer’s Market in Mueller – absolutely delicious! I had the Peruvian Chicken and Come y Calla Empanadas.
Henna — Google review
The pastry is way too thick and bready, not at all like South American empanadas. Filling is bland and uninteresting. Waste of money.
Missy H — Google review
Ran into them at the Mueller Farmers Market. Some of the best empanadas I’ve had and the ingredients are genuine. Give them a try!
Jon H — Google review
They’re never open. Went during their open hours on their website at 2PM this Sunday, they were closed no sign or anything. It’s the third time we come and no luck.
