The 50 best pancakes in Austin

Austin is flooded with so many average brunch spots just like this: places that rely on quality ingredients to justify jacking up the prices all while serving these standard, generic, forgettable dishes that lack inspiration. It's culinary noise taking up space but not really elevating the food scene. For that same money, I'd rather support a spot that brings bold flavors, creativity, or maybe global influence to the table. At least give me something memorable. Places like this are a dime a dozen, but I guess if you just want "OK", it's an option. The Good: Service is excellent. Warm, attentive, and efficient. Also, the nugget ice here is a small but mighty win in the brutal Texas heat, especially if you're dining outside. The Meh: The food is HUHHHHHH. To be fair, it’s quality ingredients executed in a general well-prepared manner, but it's boring, safe, and…unimaginative. The best way to describe it. There's nothing culinary-forward or inspiring happening here. And for the price point of the dishes, the lack of creativity is hard to justify.

I had the pleasure of dining at Josephine House in Austin with colleagues, and every dish was an absolute standout. We shared the panzanella, crudo, crab cakes, curry roasted octopus, and steak frites, and each one was both beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The panzanella was fresh and vibrant, the crudo delicate and balanced, and the crab cakes perfectly crisp with generous crab. The curry roasted octopus was a surprising highlight—tender, aromatic, and so well seasoned. And the steak frites? Classic, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for conversation and connection. Josephine House truly delivers on every level—an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Austin.

Underwhelming experience even though we booked months in advance for a special occasion. Tiny, cramped dining areas inside and outside. They don’t have seating inside for more than 4 people. They seated 6 petite women at a patio table more suitable for 4 people. Way too hot to be sitting that close and waiting on slow service. $20 avocado toast was nothing to write home about- something I could have made at home.

Josephine House was amazing! Great service, beautiful ambiance, and delicious food. We especially loved the chopped salad — the perfect mix of crunch, acid, and umami. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice small home environment. Pricey place to have breakfast/coffee. The weather was perfect for enjoying ours outdoors in the converted carport. Servers were polite.

We invited some friends to Josephine House for lunch, and honestly, it was just okay. The lunch menu was very limited — we ordered the steaks and eggs, but they weren’t that great. The patio area was also quite uncomfortable for what they charge — the tables and chairs weren’t cozy at all, and there wasn’t enough shade or umbrellas to make it pleasant to sit outside. What really surprised me was the billing — they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the check, and then still asked for an additional tip at the end. I was shocked. I believe tipping should be a personal choice, especially when the service and overall experience were just average. In short, ordinary food, uncomfortable seating, and confusing tipping policy. Definitely expected more for the price.

A long awaited birthday brunch at Josephine House! Beautiful weather for an outdoor table. Waitress was exceptional—great combination of ease, efficiency and quirky. The lox offering was exceptional. The touted lemon ricotta pancakes were good but not exceptional. Had other good menu options I’ll try next time. Great selection of brunchy drinks too.

Paperboy is absolutely phenomenal. The meal started with four buttery biscuits, served with butter and a seasonal marmalade—this time, peach. They were divine: flaky, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The hash was a perfect balance of flavors, with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired beautifully with the savory shredded pork. The pecan mole added just the right touch of depth without being overpowering. The pancakes were another standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Truly a must-order. The only miss for me was the cheesy potato side. It wasn’t bad, but compared to everything else, it didn’t stand out, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, Paperboy delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic breakfast we shared the empanada, biscuits and jam, Huevos Rancheros Grits and the Paperboy Pancake. Everything was great. Even their drip coffee was next level. Only complaint is getting blasted by the sun the entire breakfast. Could easily be addressed but they did not have a remedy for it unfortunately.

Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!

Some of the best breakfast in Austin! We came here for a friend’s birthday breakfast and it did not disappoint. We sat outside but it was shaded and there were fans so it was perfect. The coffee was fantastic and tasted high quality, not super sweet but amazing nonetheless. The paperboy pancake is a must, I saw it on TikTok and had to try it. Big, thick pancake but at the same time fluffy. It had great flavor, definitely add the syrup on top, it gets absorbed through the whole pancake. I also got the chicken and biscuit. The chicken was flavorful and crispy, a little kick from the hot honey. And the gravy was delicious! My husband got the standard breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. And he really enjoyed it. The potatoes were super yummy and seasoned to perfection. The toast came with preserved but we couldn’t really tell what kind, but it was great. Highly recommend stopping by when in Austin!

Wow! The food was amazing as was the service! We ordered the chicken and gravy and their gravy was divinely magical! It was sweet, savory and I think I detected a hint of nutmeg in it. Delicious! Also, the pancake was the most buttery, soft pancake I've ever had and it was served with a sweet cinnamon butter. Their cheesy hashbrown was really good too! The staff are super nice and provide exceptional service!

Finding this place in Austin was a real gem; it’s was a super nice restaurant. My boyfriend and I had brunch. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess save us a table. It took about 20 minutes, but it was worth it because the food was delicious! My boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary, mimosas and I had a capuccino. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the food is quick. The servers are very friendly attentive. It was an incredible experience; I highly recommend it.

Elite interior design! I love the open kitchen and everything is made fresh. The presentation of each dish is also aesthetically pleasing but It’s pricey I’d say. However it’s a great place to spent some nice time with my sister.

I've been having the occasional dinner here since the mid-90s, more frequently in the beginning but less so in the last few years as I don't find myself around south Congress very often anymore. Last Sunday, we decided to swing by, in part for old time's sake, and I'm glad we did. Magnolia Cafe is still an Austin original, and, after decades, still true to what made it a local institution. Food was just as I remember it, flavorful and with fresh ingredients, service was great and the place was perfectly clean. We had the stir fry, the black bean entree, and a key lime pie slice; everything was delicious. Since the pandemic, they are not open 24 hours anymore but, otherwise, still there. We'll definitely be coming back a lot more often.

Magnolia Cafe is such a charming local spot!! Friendly and attentive service, nice indoor and outdoor seating, large menu (everything looks so good), and a mimosa bar while waiting to be seated (quick wait times). Loved our queso omelette and croissant-wich! We got lucky and were able to park at the restaurant but more parking is available close by. LOVED this restaurant experience!

This place is seriously super cute! Service was amazing and the food was delicious. While you wait you can purchase a beverage out back, and we only waited about 15 min. Seating consists of indoor and outdoor. Parking lot can be busy, but there is a side lot and parking in the back. Def worth the wait!

I have to admit, Magnolia Cafe has been in my list of places to try but somehow it never happened. Today, because we're in the neighborhood, so we decided to visit one located in the South Congress Ave. After putting the name down to get a table (a straight forward process that just need to scan a barcode and fill out the information), we got seated within 20 minutes. We started with Chips, queso and salsa (It was so good and gone so fast that did not have time to take a picture 😅); for the lunch we got Chicken and the Egg, Omelette with shredded beef, Chicken Enchiladas and Voodoo Blue Cheese burger with a side order of home fries (My order). Without knowing what to expect, I have to admit that it was an outstanding burger: from the nicely cooked beef patties to blue cheese crumbles and grilled buns, the result far exceeded my expectation. I'm addition, judging by how quickly the rest of family finished their meals, I can only assume other dishes were good, too. The service we received was excellent, definitely deserves to be mentioned. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Highly recommend it. 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was our second visit, although this time on Saturday around noon it was kind of disappointing. Both host staff was not friendly or welcoming, just matter of fact.-no smiles! Our server was very friendly but very distracted and not very attentive to us. We had to wave her down a couple of times to get some assistance. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy added shredded beef which was yummy and the Magnolia Stir Fry which was not yummy. The Stir Fry was more like a soup, way too much teriyaki sauce and barely any rice. The highlight was the Root Beer Float, perfection!! If we go back, I’ll stick with breakfast items.

Vibe is what Austin used to feel like about a decade ago: eclectic, unserious, fun, and quirky! The service is top notch! I'm gluten free and their jalapeno cornbread pancake is so yummy! I add feta and bacon to mine for a sweet/savory/creamy/spicy experience. It's so yum! I also enjoy their huevos rancheros too! Great place for a brunch spot and they're open 24 hours on the weekends!! Make sure to come early to put your name down for the guest list!

We were visiting Austin from Denver and one of our Denver Friends recommended Magnolia Cafe to us. The food here was awesome and I highly recommend it me and everyone else at our table ended up getting breakfast items, and all of them were delicious! I got an omelette (that I can't remember the name of) and ginger pancakes stuffed with bananas, and it was delicious! My friend got the shredded beef omelette and said it was awesome, and my girlfriend got the chocolate chip pancakes and also loved them. Overall I highly recommend this place for their breakfast this was probably the best omelette I've ever had!

Somewhat quirky place on the east side of Austin. We went for a late dinner with no reservation and sat at the bar for a unique experience with a view of the open kitchen. The menu items were creative and for us presented some new ingredients, e.g. carta di musica and jardineira. We had the white bean hummus and the “lettuces” salad, both good. Staff was nice. The clentine granita dessert was amazing.

Went here for lunch 4/23 & 4/24. It was busy but not to bad. No wait for counter seating. Rainbow Trout bowl was tasty. Small portions on the bowl but was well worth it. Perfect lunch meal. Iced lavender latte was extremely good. Price point is what you would expect from the Austin area. The tri tip sandwich was very good and worth it.

Went here for brunch and the food was great. We got the pork hash, the chicken Sammie, zucchini bread, pancakes, pull apart bun, and frites. The service was as expected, nothing spectacular but he was patient and friendly. The space is small and we were in close quarters with other guests which I didn’t like too much because it feels like we are right on top of each other. We all had a hard time getting out without feeling like we were bothering the other people. Overall is a cute vibe and the good is decent price so I recommend trying it!

Launderette is a quaint and charming spot nestled in a lovely neighborhood with easy parking and thoughtfully curated decor. The ambiance is warm and inviting with great seating options that make it a wonderful place to enjoy a meal out. The cocktail menu has some standout options. The Malfy Spritz was especially delightful, light, refreshing, and reminiscent of an upscale lemonade with butterfly pea blossom for a floral touch. In contrast, Kay's Coupe is more gin-forward and great for someone who enjoys a stronger drink. Appetizers were a highlight. The pomme frites and house-made chips with pimento cheese were both solid starters. The pimento cheese was fresh and flavorful, a huge leap above store-bought versions. The sticky Brussels sprouts were slightly al dente, but the sauce and Parmesan made them very enjoyable. The striped bass crudo was delicious, with an intense heat that I personally liked, but the menu doesn't mention that it's very spicy, which could catch some people off guard. The burrata was excellent, especially paired with a huge piece of perfectly toasted bread. A delightful surprise was the tempura snap peas, crispy, unique, and full of flavor. The lettuces with citrus breadcrumbs were the only disappointment among the starters, as the citrus breadcrumbs made the salad heavy and soggy. For mains, the bistro steak had good flavor but was a little bit tough, likely due to the cut of meat. The Texas redfish tasted good, though it was a bit oily and the portion was smallish. Those wanting more seafood might prefer the whole branzino, just be mindful of the bones. The sticky pork ribs with hoisin sauce came in a generous portion and would be ideal for those who enjoy a sweet glaze. Desserts: the raspberry tart was a nice option for a light dessert and would appeal to fans of white chocolate. The carrot cake, however, was underwhelming. If you're expecting a classic carrot cake, this is not it. It’s more of a light surprise and misses the mark if you're looking for that rich, spiced texture and flavor of carrot cake. That said, the honey crunch served with it was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the dessert. The surprise of the evening was the decaffeinated coffee served on a beautiful tray that everyone appreciated, a perfect way to end the meal. Service was impeccable with kind and attentive staff. Launderette is a wonderful place to visit for a well-rounded and memorable dining experience.

My wife and I had dinner 7/19/25. Food tasted great but the shawarma cauliflower included more than a few yellow, past-expiration arugula leaves in the mix. No one should be served that. I pointed out the pile of them I had collected to the server and she said she'd "tell them". Nothing came of that and I'm disappointed, especially considering the supposed quality level of this establishment.

We were in the neighborhood and stopped by due to a previous recommendation. We visited on a Sunday early evening and it was not busy. We ordered drinks and shareable snacks. The hummus was good and the pork belly was a little tough, but had a good spicy flavor. I liked the use of the microgreens and mint. Our server was attentive the entire visit.

From Georgia on vacation. This place was 3 mins from our Airbnb. Pretty disappointed in the limited menu and portion size. The burgers do not come with any sides. Add fries for $9. Small Portion. We got the burger and pork belly with 2 side of fries.$59 The tables are very close together. You can be apart of someone conversation! Food was flavorful but costly compared to Georgia.

Top notch service, easy to park in the garage at south congress hotel. I ordered the green lettuces salad ($16) and added smoked salmon ($12). Paired with their seasonal iced strawberry matcha. Really enjoyed sitting outside and my friend loved their burger. You can walk through the hotel lobby to get to the garage and they’ll validate for 2 hours. Would happily return

Our waitress today- JULIANA✨ was absolutely pleasant and bubbly! Loved that! She made sure we had excellent service and constantly checked us without being overbearing. The food was also great! Had brunch at a cozy café and really enjoyed the food—especially the smoked salmon bagel, pistachio muffin, and soup. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the overall vibe was lovely. However, the service was a bit disappointing. The staff didn’t come across as very friendly, and I had to ask twice just to get an extra spoon. When I requested a small bowl, they brought out a clear glass one that didn’t seem like proper serving ware and might’ve even been used. Great food, but the service could definitely be improved.

My daughter and I had a lovely lunch here. The food was amazing and our server was one of the sweetest and most knowledgeable servers I've ever had. Eat here! I'm sure you will love it!

Mmmmmmm French toast. I will say I expected the orange in the glaze to be a little more world changing, but it kind of distracted from the nutty syrupy goodness. Kate hyped up the deviled eggs and they did indeed deliver, though I would have liked more of the mayo filling. I was a little surprised no one offered to refill my coffee, but for $3.50 I'm fine with it. We went on a Sunday, and Kate ordered a mimosa at 9:45. When she was told she couldn't have one before 10 am, she said OK I would like a mimosa at 10 am please. Lo and behold, at 10:01 a mimosa arrived at our table. That's good service right there!

We can hear for a 16 people brunch and Hari took such good care of the whole table and the food was incredible and delicious! Most of us were from out of state so this was a really good taste of Austin, thank you Hari!

UPDATED: The owner responded and said they DO validate the parking. Our table and a table next to us were told no, so ensure to ask a second person if told no. Great food and great location. Our server was awesome! We tried the Matcha, Quinoa Bowl, Pancakes, Kimchi Hash, BLT Sandwich 🥪 with fries🍟. Be advised they do not validate parking. This place was a 10 out of 10, and we would definitely go back.

Classic breakfast place! food was good, although my friend mentioned the sausage tasted odd, i didn't get to try it. I had the counter benedict with pastrami and it was yummy! Service was great, and for a sunday morning they had plenty of availability. only thing is I feel like the seats were really close to the people adjacent to us, but nothing too uncomfortable. Would come back:)

A new discovery for me. Way out of my way. I was going for another place but they were not quite open for business. Nice counter cafe place. Narrow. Not too much seating inside, additional seating outside (too hot for me right now) Busy and noisy. I guess it goes with this type of business. Service: a little slow to get to me. Nice yound lady. Food was served promptly. Food: I ordered the Joe's Special: scrambled eggs topped with home-made sausage, on top of spinach salad and home potatoes. Everything was fresh and tasty. No complaints. I absolutely love this place. I am a frequent guest. I feel like I’m at home. The cooks are fabulous efficient they always have the food on point. I’ve never had a time that it was not delicious. The service providers waitresses are friendly. They always ask me if I need coffee because I am quite particular about how my coffee is made. They have the best coffee in town. If you guys know me I always write a review and this is one place I want you all to check out. They’re open from 6 to 3. Saturdays are my best days but remember come early because there will be a line but they will try to get you in as soon as possible. It seems to me the places that have lies are always the place to eat for me. I wanna thank you counter café, and your staff for your hard work your discipline to make fabulous food for all us as consumers and keeping us happy. We will not go wrong if you come here and if you just so happen to find this post and it make sure decisionmy name is Sara. I’m happy to give you a glass place in town my little secret counter café.

This restaurant has friendly staff and the food is REALLY good! I polled our entire group for a star rating before posting this review and we all agreed.. 5 stars! Hands are shown in the photos for scale.. those are BIG Pancakes! The French toast is far better than any I’ve had.

The place had a charming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered Joe’s special. It tasted good but it lacked the balance I had hoped for. I found the portion of eggs in my dish to be significantly less than expected, with the plate seeming to have an excess of potatoes instead.

If you have any kind of food allergy, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. The staff isn’t knowledgeable about their menu or allergy concerns, and as someone with celiac disease, I found the gluten-free options to be extremely limited. The food itself was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the price. To make matters worse, the restaurant was noticeably dirty, the restroom door handle even had mold growing on it, which is completely unacceptable. Overall, between the lack of allergy awareness, poor food quality, and unsanitary conditions, I would never come here again.

This was a great restaurant to eat at before making the trip back to Houston. The environment was comfortable and informal, and I felt that the ingredients were fresh and the atmosphere was relaxing. I will definitely be back and the reason I would mostly come here is that parking is very easy and accessible with food that doesn’t compromise. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. And the bottomless coffee has real cream that comes with it!

My family came into town, and they love brunch. We went to Hillside on a Friday. It is so cute inside. The service was great! Everyone really enjoyed their food. They had great offerings for the kids too. It’s a great spot.

The food was great! We got pancakes, eggs, avocado toast, egg sando, shrimp n grits. All of it was amazing. I especially loved the granola in the yogurt. I wish there was a little more yogurt but very good!

10/23 impromptu dinner date night with hubby. They had a big party event but the staff still seated us and gave us good service. It’s a fun place to enjoy a no-frail casual French bistro meal.

Yup! This is the place to be for brunch. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t super busy. Service was fast, ambience was fantastic, and food was to die for! We got a pastry, two drinks, and our main dish all for under $65!

Revisiting an old favorite. Not do much anymore. Why? Service: I came for brunch at around 2;40 pm. The waitress took her sweet time to get to me. Nice lady but not in a hurry. Aftercshe dropped my plate, she disappeared. After waiting a while, I had to ask the manager for mustard. She showed only to drop the check. They had the gall to suggest 20% tip. Food: Very disappointing. I ordered the Benny plate. Muffins were tiny. Poached eggs overcooked. Chipotle Hollandaise bland an obviously some commercial mixture. Sticky to the palate. Ugh! Potatoes were cut too big, barely hot, and not crispy. Floury on the inside. Probably sitting under the class heat lamps for too long. The Espresso for my affogato was presented in a shot glass and I spilled part on it on my table. They should have a proper vessel for that. Coffee ok but not special. Atmosphere: like I remembered, just older by a few years. See pictures. They could use a fresh coat of paint in spots. Overall, a not so good experience. Too bad. Quaint place to eat for any meal, they also have oysters should you like those. Several coffee drinks and cocktails. Staff is very nice and the music is great. Mostly new wave music.

Vegetarian/vegan restaurant with some excellent food. Love it, especially the breakfast blueberry cornbread. Vibe is very unique-Austin. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Bar as well with some beer, wine, and cider options. Especially enjoyed the desserts.

We came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The menu is great, with lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, and the coffee was especially good. The service was also lovely, our waitress was kind and attentive. The space inside is bright and open, with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There’s also a patio area outside if you prefer to sit outdoors. Prices are reasonable, and overall it’s a great spot for a tasty vegetarian meal. The only thing that gave us pause was something we noticed when we arrived after 9 am. As we walked past the side of the building, we saw several boxes of eggs sitting outside near what looked like a storage or utility area. It was already quite hot outside (we’re in Texas, after all), and we weren’t sure how long the eggs had been there. That raised some food safety concerns. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. The food was excellent, and it’s a really nice place to spend a morning

I love this place. Staff is great, huge vegan menu, business is committed to progressive community building. It gets packed on the weekends so I prefer to come during the week, but anytime you can get a seat is a great time to come. Also look how beautiful this Moroccan summer bowl was. Incredible vibes 👌🏼As a vegan in Austin I would say Bouldin is basically the center of the orbit.

On a mission to explore iconic local spots in Austin, I made my next stop at Bouldin Creek Cafe—and it did not disappoint. The “weird” and cozy interior (and exterior!) totally embraces the Keep Austin Weird vibe in the best way. The atmosphere is laid-back and full of character. The food? Super affordable and packed with flavor. I tried the Avocado Toast, Predictable Breakfast, Chalupa, and Spicy Pesto—all were fantastic. It’s a great place for vegetarians, too. If you're visiting Austin and want something local, artsy, and delicious, this spot should definitely be on your list.

An awesome vegan place that feels like modern, visibly enticing and touches the taste palettes to a dreamy place. Loved each and everything and definitely bound to return again. With good portion sizes, the plates are good for sharing. Excellent service and a great vibe that definitely reminds you, you are in Austin. Had to wait for over 45min for the table and that wait is definitely worth every minute.

We were in Austin to visit the State Capital, and I was amazed with all the vegan restaurants. In North Texas where I come from, people don't know what a vegan restaurant is. 😀 There was a small wait because we got there at lunch time. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I enjoyed my Lady Bird salad, which was huge and filled with local produce. The ginger flavored lemonade was also good. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

I am not vegetarian or vegan, but happened to come upon this place while looking for coffee and a place to work for a few hours while in town. I have traveled worldwide and this was by far one of the best omelets I have ever had! Hostess incredibly nice and staff was attentive. I will 100% be coming back when I'm in town again!

Great Vibe and Good Food, Definitely Worth a Visit This is my third time coming to Better Half, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. I ordered the half Chop Chop salad, the single chicken bacon burger, and a veggie burger. It’s hard not to like this place. The amount of property they have means you can almost always find a seat, which is a nice. If you’re into alcohol, I’m sure you’d really enjoy it here as they have a great selection. It’s hard to beat a $7 chicken/beef burger though the patty itself is a bit on the thin side. Everything was solid—the food was good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. It definitely feels like a spot that you could always go to and know what you’re getting.

This place is definitely popular, but I found myself underwhelmed by the famous cauliflower tots and the breakfast sandwich. They didn’t live up to the hype for me. The cauliflower tots were crispy but, like the breakfast sandwich, could benefit from more flavor. However, the beetroot ketchup had a unique taste to it. On a positive note, the lemon olive oil cake and the queso were delightful. As for the coffee, I was disappointed. The caramel sea salt cold brew tasted more like vanilla, with barely any caramel or sea salt flavors coming through. The lavender latte was watery. Overall, nothing really hit the mark. The best part of the place, though, is definitely the vibe. The outdoor patio is spacious, with plenty of shaded seating and a cozy bar area in the corner, covered in vines and string lights. Inside, there’s a nice mix of seating options so whether you want a couch or a high table they have it all. And they have a little kiddie pool outside where you can dip your feet, which is nice, and dogs are allowed, so if you’re just looking for a chill place to hang out, it’s great, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for the food or drinks.

I’ve visited this restaurant three times, and it’s consistently solid. My recent Saturday brunch really stood out. The food is flavorful and well-executed, with a thoughtful concept that shines through in the menu. The space is clean, modern, and stylish, creating a welcoming vibe. My only gripe is the crowd—expect a wait, especially on weekends, though the kitchen turns out dishes quickly. If you’re local, this spot’s probably already on your radar.

Truly one of the most mediocre places I’ve been to that is trying to be trendy. The breakfast sandwich was so underwhelming for the price. No seasoning, no salsa, no sauce. Just a bunch of fried elements without seasoning. It was very one note and nothing to it. Difficult to eat. Coffee was okay, much prefer other places in Austin. Super loud inside.

I've always loved Better Half, it was a tried and true spot for me for years. I came back to grab a salad for lunch for the first time in about a year and I am sad to say it has gone downhill. $48 for two very un-fresh disheveled "half" salads, and a dirty table. I am so sad to have spent so much for so little, but more sad to see a place I once loved not holding their standard.

We loved this place so much on our trip to Austin that we went a few times during the week. We didn’t have too long of a wait each time but we were there during off season and not peak hours. There’s plenty of outdoor seating which was so nice on a warm day. The coffee was good and I appreciated their baked goods. The breakfast sandwiches were also good.

This is just fun. Cocktails and Cafe. Small indoor space and lots of outdoor picnic table seating. I worked with the sides menu for my G.F. options, the Offspring had eggs and pancakes. Coffee and latte options. We had breakfast here twice while in town.

great experience—almost perfect. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and quick. Our food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. We decided to take dessert to go, opting for the tres leches cake and the buttermilk pie. Unfortunately, this part of the experience was disappointing. While enjoying the desserts at home, we discovered a hair woven into the whipped cream. It really took away from what had otherwise been a great meal and left us feeling a bit let down. I’d still recommend the diner for its tasty food, efficient service, and great coffee—but I hope they take a closer look at quality control.

This place has potential. Food is really good. Chicken waffle, French toast, chicken fried chicken. Everything was really good, couldn't be better. But the place itself is not it. Restaurant is run down, from paint to the seat cushions. Maybe just order to go.

The food was amazing, I had the wagyu steak entree and my mom had the cheeseburger. The wagyu was perfectly cooked to medium as I requested, as well as my mom’s burger cooked to medium well. The server was kind, straight to the point, and quick. The food came after what felt like 5 minutes, and it was fantastic. My mom said it was the best burger she ever had in her life. The music was nice and chill, place isn’t very loud, nice atmosphere. I like the interior style a lot! Wagyu was amazing, 10/10 recommend you to come here, worth every penny!

I ordered the small chicken and waffle, which to my surprise was actually pretty big. You can choose between dark or white meat. I code dark, it was crispy and juicy. The waffle was fluffy. It wasn't busy when my friends and I got there, so we were able to get our food pretty fast. Our waitress was awesome, but the other guy seemed to have a bad attitude while we were there on Oct 22, and gave us some weird looks. But nonetheless, the food was awesome.

Ordered 2 items: patty melt & chicken & waffles. The chicken and waffles were ok. The waffles had an inconsistent taste, and the chicken had areas that were charred/burnt. Furthermore, the patty melt burger patty was too rare/not cooked enough. It was not a pleasant experience, but service was good.

First was the service which wasn’t horrible but definitely wasn’t good. Especially since there was no one there youd think it wouldn’t be that hard to go a little extra. But that wasn’t the worst part. Next was the food. Not only was it 20$ for a patty melt but it was cold, raw, bland. And there was a lot of raw spots on my patty. The fries were also pretty mediocre, a lot weren’t even eatable since they were fried to a crisp. Unfortunately I can only speak for myself and not my friends that were with me but they also did not enjoy there meal and had other issues. Also if you wanted to watch sports games, they only got one tv.

The waiter and the staff were very kind and attentive, they even gave us a rose when leaving; however, the food was expensive and not that good. The biscuits were very tough, the cream cheese for the bagel was weird tasting too, but the sausage was good however. Overall not worth the money, and the portions sizes for the chicken biscuit was smaller than expected for how much they charged.

The food was delicious and service quality was truly exceptional inside the restaurant. Except for The valet service was full and the lady wouldn't even let us wait in line, it felt uncomfortable when she yelled at us. We ended up having to self-park elsewhere. 4/13/25

Heck of a good dinner and place to eat. It was a group of 3 and we ate at the bar which was comfortable and a good place to sit. Service was really good with a friendly bartender that took car of us. We all enjoyed our dinner with the Mac & Cheese stealing the show. The parking lot can be a little tricky and I would suggest reservations.

Great food, beautiful view. Dog friendly! The portions are pretty big so think about sharing. The decor and ambience are so relaxing and tons of fans under the shaded area to keep you cool. The large mimosa pitcher is definitely meant for 3-4 people as it was a lot for 2 people to drink. Highly recommend if you’re in East Austin! Make a reservation and parking lot is only valet for $6

This place is really nice looking! We went for Sunday Brunch and the food was delicious. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, the club sandwich, and the strawberry cake. They even came by an asked us if we wanted an extra cinnamon roll that they had! Our waitress was so nice. We sat inside and luckily we made the right choice as it was pouring but the outside looked pretty covered. Will definitely be back!

What truly makes Jacoby’s stand out, though, is how pet-friendly they are. The patio is spacious, shaded, and welcoming for furry friends — our dogs were treated like family with water bowls and lots of attention from the staff. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both incredible food and such a relaxed, pet-friendly vibe. Highly recommend Jacoby’s for anyone looking to enjoy amazing food, great service, and a place where your four-legged friends can join in on the fun. Can’t wait to go back! 🐾🍽️

Went in for their Thursday steak and frites special and did not disappoint!! Really good, tender steak cooker to a perfect medium. Cosmopolitan cocktail was great too. Update: we also tried their burger and it’s delicious!! Will be adding Jacobys to one of my staple restaurants in Austin :)

Sat on the patio for a 1pm brunch. Their brunch menu is amazing! Had the Deviled eggs (10/10), biscuits and gravy (8/10), chorizo migas (100/10 must try), side cheddar grits (9/10), & took home a strawberry cake. The strawberry cake is insanely good and it makes me want to request a whole cake for maybe a birthday or something in the future. Portions are huge and 3 of us were stuffed from those all of those as we did more of a family style sharing. Overall place is great and I highly recommend the patio seating.

Amazing food; especially love the grilled pork chops. Menu changes constantly: Have been back multiple times already. Great dining environment. Very limited parking. Be prepared to park in the residential areas across the street during peak dining hours. Be prepared to make reservation 1-2 weeks in advance if you have a large party.

I have been hearing about this restaurant through various sources like the Meateater podcast, Jesse’s books, etc. I finally got a chance to eat here and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend was skeptical as she is not a game meat eater but the burger she had was “the best burger of her life”. My dinner was equally good and both starters we got were incredible. Next time I’m in town I plan on making another visit.

Stopped by for their brunch, which is available 3 days a week. Biscuit with butter and jam, carnitas flautas and the longhorn cheeseburger were our choices for the afternoon. The biscuit with jam was tasty, with no complaints. The flautas were surprisingly girthy with plenty of meat inside. Something you don't see to often with this particular Tex-Mex dish. I'm never been a huge fan of flautas generally, so this did not blow my socks off, but overall a reccomend if interested. Lastly, we split the longhorn cheeseburger. Very juicy and messy, but tasty. The burger was not trying to do too much, but had it's own personality and was made with care. With all Due respect, why aren't you on your way to Dai Due? 4.5/5

Food was good but the price : food wasn’t worth it (but we come from Houston where food is cheaper and we get more). The service was good - frequent refills, check ups, and care but also slow. We didn’t make a reservation but were seated within 10 minutes. We made our order and waited almost 15 minutes to get our appetizer and then another 15-30 minutes for the main meal. The three of us ordered to share the boar confit, cheese burger, sourdough, and potatoes caroline. Our favorite was the boar confit but altogether the flavors were good but not great

Great food. I had the seasonal dish: Grilled Wild Boar Filipino Longanisa Sausage with garlic rice, grilled eggplant salad, chives and an egg. It was excellent. They no longer sell sliced sausage or charcuterie out the front butcher cabinet, but there is still some frozen fresh ground sausages, bone broth, and their cookie dough in the freezer up front to purchase along with Jesse Griffiths books, some coffee beans, Dai Due apparel, etc.

We showed up at 1pm on a Saturday thinking we may need a reservation but they seated us right away. Had the wild boar sandwich and the antelope sausage burger with beef talow fries. Was delicious! The service was also good and we were able to take biscuits to go. The only thing was the sandwich had a bit too much of mayo. I'd order it on the side next time. Would definitely come again!

There is no praise that this restaurant doesn't deserve. Ethically hunted game meat and in-season local produce ensures that your meal is high quality and guilt-free. We had the longhorn burger and wild boar chops (menu changes based on season) and it was everything and more than we expected. Fries are fried in beef tallow. Visit as often as you can!

The service in here can be little bit better with wait time. Our first time around our server was quick and on top of things. He was wearing a Santa clause hat and was approachable and friendly. Our second time around our server was forgetful and kept taking multiple trips to bring us the items we requested. But the food was good when we did get to eat them. I recommend to ask them to make the hash browns extra crispy. They're so delicious. I would still come back here.

Texas. Sized. Pancakes. The Original Pancake House has them and you’ll want them. The restaurant is decently sized and the menu is brimming with different pancake and breakfast options. We got the buttermilk pancakes w/ bacon and has browns, chocolate chip pancakes w/ corn beef hash, special apple pancakes and a cheese omelette. The buttermilk pancakes were okay, pretty standard pancake fare, bacon was good but hash browns were a big miss. The chocolate chip pancakes were pretty good with gooey mini chocolate drops lining it, the corn beef hash was okay as well. The apple pancake was a standout. A behemoth of a pancake that tastes almost exactly like an apple pie. It does take a big longer to cook so be prepared to wait if you order it. Lastly, the cheese omelette was standard, pretty much just cheese and egg so no room for flashiness. For all the food we got the prices here were a good value and it also feels good to support a local place. The service was friendly and pretty quick. For the money you spend we like this place and look forward to coming back and trying a few new things next time. Please note that we came on a Monday morning and there was no wait.

Let's start off by saying that we signed up for the waiting list 90 minutes before we arrived at the restaurant from our home. You can join the wait list through Yelp, so just look it up if you want to try this method. We arrived about 10 minutes before our sit down time and waited at the host stand. The original pancake House is open limited hours and closes in the afternoon in the afternoon. In the mornings, especially our weekends. Multiple feeding arrangements can take place here in a combination of large groups. What's great about the original pancake House, is that item you order savory comes with pancakes. On top of that, you can sub the pancakes for any other waffle crepe or specialty pancake if you'd like. For instance, the crepes that my wife got on the side were a $2 up charge and you basically get one crepe short of a full order. My son got the potato pancakes and my wife also got the corned beef hash. And my wife also got the corned beef hash I decided to go with the cowboy omelet with the pecan waffles (no syrup) Everything was delicious. The coffee is delicious and just the customizable menu makes this experience a great place to have or take yours or family. Stop on in when you can but make sure you come early cuz it fills up fast

Come early because there's no reservations. There is an online wait list.This place is popular among families and friends who want to get together for breakfast. It's a nice little treat for yourself. There is also a nice selection for kids and seniors as well as the regular meal options. Sometimes we take the whole family.

One of my fav places to get breakfast in Austin! Love their 100% natural orange juice and their different breakfast options. I specially recommend the Santa Fe omelette!

I’ve visited this place a few times for breakfast. It’s a nice place with friendly staff, great food, and excellent service. I particularly love their crêpes with cherry topping! The omelettes are always well-cooked, fresh, and delicious. The drip coffee is fine, but it’s a bit bitter on my taste. However, be warned that the place gets really packed after 10 am on weekends and holidays, and the waiting time can be up to 90 minutes.

The place can be loud so be aware. My server was amazing and attentive. Their best item is the dutch baby, just out of this world. The rest of the items I ordered is okay. The pecan waffle was nice. Sweet potatoes hash was crispy. Overall good meal.

It's a must see place. Nice outdoors. Three different kitchens - bangers, BBQ and Subs and 200+ beers. Bangers ( duck/fig/bacon) was perfect and my wife had jalapeno cheese brat - also excellent. And the Snickers in a jar ... The service was lovely. Friendly and not rushed - just what you need in an afternoon. Rye was excellent as a server.

This place is a must try. From the entrance...to the beer selection, to the seating and the food and music. It makes the atmosphere so fun!! I was lucky that we had a work event at this place. The food was so delicious, all the sides were tasty! The beer selection was awesome to pick from. And when the sun started going down and the music began, it made you thankful for being in that moment.

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden in Austin’s Rainey Street Historic District is an excellent place to enjoy great food, drink, music, and people watching. Staying at the nearby Cambria Hotel, I had walked by here a few times and thought to myself that this would be a nice place to hang out and imbibe. I was not disappointed. By the time I actually arrived , after a soccer match, it turned out to be about five minutes before closing time. Nevertheless, they welcomed me, and I was able to enjoy a couple of fine sausages, and beer from one of 101 taps on this side of the facility (there are 101 more taps on the other side!). To order, I had the Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst and the Spanish-Style Chorizo, both of which came with a pile of hand cut fries. OMG, they were both absolutely delicious; well prepared and very tasty, fries included. Very much recommended… but please come earlier than I did. Very much recommended.

Banger's Sausage House was in full Octoberfest mode. There was a German band and a nail driving competition. We drank lots of German beer, ate lots of German sausages, pretzels and deserts. The place was packed. The customers and staff were lively. The food and beer were delicious. I had a great time. I highly recommend Banger's Sausage House.

Overall a nice place to chill and have some beer and sausages. When I went I just sat down and ordered off the QR code on table and was brought my order. Really easy and quick. Sausages were delicious and they have a lot of beers to choose from. Worth giving a try!

Bangers in Austin, Texas, truly knows how to throw a sausage event! For just $30, we indulged in five mini sausages. Their beer selection was outstanding, featuring a Dunkel—such a rare find! It was amazing to see such a wide range of beers on offer. Ordering was a breeze—just scan a QR code, add your items to the cart, and checkout. The service was quick and efficient, bringing everything right to our table. Out of the five sausages, the standout was definitely the Al Pastor sausage, served on a pita with a chunky salsa. The flavors were incredible, and the unique bread added an extra special touch. The Chicken Bacon Ranch sausage was a close second—such a great twist on a classic flavor combination. I loved how each sausage came with a different type of bun, adding a unique twist to every bite. For dessert, the Snickers ice cream was the perfect sweet finish—rich and indulgent, just like the ice cream bars we all love. With plenty of space indoors and out, plus live music, Bangers made for a fantastic experience. Highly recommend checking it out!

First timer here. Loved this place. The staff was amazingly friendly. The beer and food was TOP NOTCH. I was glad to learn this place is dog friendly. The atmosphere was perfect for a lunch date. We took it outside to the patio where there was live music. Easy to order. Scanned the qr code and everything was brought to us. Try the warm potato salad. *chef's kiss* Great experience overall. Love to go back.

Amazing atmosphere. Such a sense of History in the hotel. The cafe has great brunch. I had the ladybird egg white omelette. It was so good. I ordered a to-go one to take home to my son. You have to go in and order at the counter and then you can pick where you want to sit, whether it's in the cafe itself or out in the lounge area of the hotel or on the patio. It was great fun

Pretty good breakfast options overall. They had a gluten free muffin which was nice. The Driskill breakfast was good but it seemed a little stingy on the scrambled eggs. We were told that some options were recently scaled down because of new ownership. For example, only whole milk (no skim or 2% for lattes). They also didn't have honey and didn't allow for regular coffee refills. Music was a bit loud in the cafe also but the decor was nice. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you're staying in the hotel it's a quick close option.

The Driskill Café is stunning, with high ceilings, beautiful details, and a warm, historic vibe — definitely worth a visit for coffee or a pastry, which looked delicious in the display. Unfortunately, our breakfast didn’t live up to the setting. My partner had the turkey B.L.T.,which he didn’t enjoy and couldn’t finish — and that says a lot. My yogurt was alright but too sour because of the amount of lemon juice that was in it. If the food had been better, this would have been our go-to breakfast spot in Austin. As it was, we didn’t end up coming back during our stay.

Stopped by here for something sweet, but the guy at the counter seemed to be annoyed that we wanted to order something. I understand that you’re about to close and finishing up, but we literally went 30 mins before closing and not 5 mins. We’ve got the cookie with everything, I forgot the name. It was good but dry. We loved this place specially their cinnamon roll was delicious. I feel so disappointed they change all menu and bakery and took out the food stuff. I’m going to give this place a low rate because of that hope they change it back someday.

I love this restaurant! I told the waitress it was my first time here and she gave me the entire run down of options of what to order. She also told me kids eat free on Tuesdays and helped me figure out items I could get as kids rather than main items to help me save money (my favorite!). Also, the vibe is so perfect, local artists have art in the walls. I just loved my experience. And the food was so delicious!!! Super win all around!!! ❤️

We have had many items on the menu it’s good but some items not so good. I had let the waitress know for example biscuit and gravy entree was bland dry and didn’t taste good. I asked if the recipe had changed she said no and didn’t do anything to try and make it right. She was busier chatting with staff and we kept having to flag her down for food and drink orders. She only asked how things were once didn’t offer refills and didn’t care to check in. That’s the only no for me and my family. However, minus that one waitress won’t mention by name maybe she was having an off day. Only other item not a fan was the pulled pork sandwhich flavor not bad but the batch I had super dry. On the good - All of our waiters and waitresses always friendly and kind. Food general is yummy and drinks non alcoholic and alcoholic. Queso is the best! Still worth a try. Menu was recently updated. Our favorites are the lemon poppy pancakes, deviled eggs, salmon, truffle fries, breakfast tacos, beef is delicious. Worth a try. We love also our Kerbey lane Tshirts!

Ordered take out this morning and their quality has really gone downhill, at least for to go orders. Pancakes are a significantly smaller and avocados are brown. Used to love this place.

Great atmosphere. It's clean and inviting. Great color scheme and overall ambiance. Service was great also. We had a seasonal red velvet pancake. For the price, I think they could serve it with more attention to detail and exciting presentation. It only had a drizzle of some kind of sweet cream on top. I suggest adding a dollop of whipped cream, powdered sugar and the drizzle on top. This would make me feel excited to eat the food. I wouldn't go back for the food.

My family and I enjoyed a delightful dinner at this fine establishment. By far our favorite kerby lane cafe location! Our server, Daniel, made our interactions very pleasant and was super attentive. We really enjoyed his friendly demeanor. Very welcoming so we will be requesting him again. Thank you kerby!!

Always consistent and always very timely with your food. The original location is charming, but parking can be a chore, unless you choose the time carefully. Ask for Erika as your server at the Kerby Lane location. She really leans into making your latte beautiful and just enjoys her job.

So all of my food was good, my family enjoyed all their food as well. My favorite was the cinnamon swirl pancake! I'm not gonna lie I was a little disappointed with the "home fries" I'm used to home fries being shredded hash browns with a lil seasoning fried in a pan with onions, so that's not what I was expecting at all. As we proceed to get our tab, the waiter tells us someone already paid for our meal! We were definitely surprised! This it the first time this have ever happened to me, the kind of thing I only see on reels lol. The atmosphere of this place is definitely a traditional diner. The food was good. I loved the French toast, and the omelets are definitely a good item to pick. I wasn't especially impressed by the drinks, but there were the normal breakfast drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are definitely longer wait times later in the day so I suggest going early. In all, it was a nice place for breakfast.

The portions here are insanely huge!! Literally have a whole meal for later today. Service was awesome and they served us so fast. Definitely felt like my grandma was back there in the kitchen making a very nice homey meal. 10/10 would come back again

All the wants for a meal to get your day going, or refuel for more Austin adventures. Either seat-yourself when not busy, or signup on a piece of paper. Once you’re seated, a friendly server will come get you drinks and give you time to acquaint yourself with the menu. After you’ve gotten your drinks and discovered your flavor of the day, you’re told the food will be out soon. In less than 15 minutes, you go from walking in to having hot food. After having every single thing on the menu - breakfast and not - there is nothing bad or middle-of-the-road. Pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, nachos, soups, and of course omelettes - every single one is perfection in food form. Coupling your meal with strong coffee, delicious orange juice, and crisp Austin water, you will be full and happy when your plate is clean. Simple payment with cash or card, and bagged coffee next to the register, and you’re off on your day. The tables are covered with colorful and sturdy wrapping, there is space for more or less chairs, wheelchair-accessible in the entire place, and they have multiple kinds of high-chairs for kids. Make a stop here and relish in what Austin really is - a weird and welcoming place for all.

Overall really good . I went with my son for pancakes ironically and they turned out to be some of the best I've had recently . The atmosphere was charming diner style and the servers were polite .

This was a fun and quirky place with a line out the door on a mild Saturday afternoon in February. Plan ahead for the wait time, even past the traditional "peak" times. The wait was well worth it. I was a solo diner, so I gladly sat at the bar. The wall was covered with silly and impressive drawings that incorporated an egg into the main picture, which was fun to look at while I waited. The fresh coffee was absolutely phenomenal - I had more than I could probably handle, and yet I wish I could've paid to take a pot's worth with me. The food reached the very edge of the plate and was a wonderful combination of modern brunch trends and homestyle service. I mean, an eggs Benedict with white queso? Yes PLEASE. If you're ever in the Austin area looking for top quality breakfast and are ready to eat enough for 3 days in a great atmosphere, come to the Omelettry and thank me later.

The Omeletry is on my rotation list for breakfast/brunch (note: they close et 3 pm) Food: I tried different (3 eggs) omelets but my favorite is the Popeyes omelet, stuffed with spinach, bacon and their special blend of cheeses. Topped with sour cream. I always as for their Caliente salsa. It complement this dish perfectly. It comes with a choice of dide dishes. Add to that bottomless coffee and you have a satisfying meal for about $20.00 (plus tip) It's hard to find such filling quality food for that price in Austin these days. The food is always very fresh and hot, and the service is prompt and friendly by a young staff. No wonder this place is always packed. I happily regularly come back every month. Chef Alain Braux

Cute yellow building! Loved the vibes when we came in. Cashier was super helpful and nice. But, the portion size on the salmon plate was small. They gave lots of sides but not nearly enough salmon to finish the plate. The large pear bacon scallion was interesting. The portion size was good but the textures were a bit weird for my palette. A great little brunch place. Came with a friend and was pretty impressed. Their small pancakes are bigger than you think and so delicious. I really liked the Bacon Cheese Pancake it was $10 but good lord it was tasty. It was even more delicious with their hot sauces they have on the side table inside. The Pear Bacon Scallion pancake was ok, not my favorite but different. Their French Toast is pretty good with the maple-pecan-espresso butter. They also serve quiche which was really good! They also have drip coffee you can get yourself which was really tasty. They don’t have much seating or parking, so keep that in mind! They do have a few outside patio tables as well.

We ordered the classic plate, an omelette, and the pulled pork sandwich. The food was pretty bland. I did like the pulled pork but it was too small of a sandwich for the price I think - it didn’t come with a side, just a few pieces of fruit. Wish I tried the coffee so can’t say anything about that. The first person we dealt with at the register wasn’t very personable but the person that was there when we left was nice. The place is cute and cozy but you can find better food other places.

Great cafe for breakfast. The pancakes taste great and the coffee is good. The whole store is comfortably furnished with many tables where you can also make a good laptop. In addition, there is a small corner with a very comfortable sofa.

Use the northbound lane of Guadalupe to get into the new location! If using the southbound lane, turn left just after the old CVS, because otherwise a lane partition in the middle of the road blocks you. I adore Pacha's especially for their pear pancakes, which are so good I don't even use syrup. I love their vibe, which they have carried with them to the new Guadalupe location where they finally have some room to breathe. The servers have always been kind and everything I have tasted here over the years has been fantastic. I'm not a coffee person, so I love that they carry a good variety of fair trade loose leaf tea from Zhi Teas, including a delicious Yerba Mate. I'll miss the old spot but I came here for comfort pear pancakes after a long morning and I walked away satisfied and definitely comforted. Thank you, Pacha's!

I'm always on the lookout for a unique and delicious breakfast experience. Also look for places that offer different items than what you would expect at breakfast and use fresh organic ingredients to prepare their menu items. I'm happy to report that Pacha did not disappoint. The environment of the cafe is warm inviting and friendly. The hot chocolate in Cafe Mocha or absolutely delicious and made from scratch. The Hallmark of our meal was the pear scallion and Bacon pancake which is probably the best pancakes I've ever had. The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection and the service from the staff was wonderful! I highly recommend checking out it's adorable breakfast spot.

Tried the Beef Hash which had a clean flavor but would have liked it a bit more flavorful. Pacha Latte was very delicious with a unique taste. Parking was very limited and I ended up parking sideways in the back parking lot. I was paranoid about parking so I was unable to get comfortable despite the energy in the cafe being very cool and laid back.

Parking - there’s a lot with several spaces, more parking at the complex next door, and some street parking next to that. Can be difficult/hectic during prime brunch hours. Reservations are recommended (when possible) as they can get very busy. I’ve been here a couple of times (once seated at a table, twice at the bar). The table service was great and the waiters were attentive. The bar service is hit or miss, on one occasion sitting near the coffee machines, we felt very rushed by the bartender - we were planning to order some pastries to go, but we were just given the check right after getting our entrees. Food - Pastry board - a good option if you have a couple pastries that you want to try. The vanilla bean brioche is amazing - would 100% get again, the chocolate croissant was good, and I would skip the chocolate & orange croissant next time - this was good but nothing special. Migas - very good and filling. Overall rating 5/5. Breakfast Sammie with sausage - everything was great about this, the eggs, protein, and even the side of potatoes. A bit heavier but delicious. Overall rating 5/5. Burger - got this during a different visit and it was also very good. The fries were good, but not my favorite. Overall rating 4/5.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick cute brunch spot this morning. We found Tiny Boxwoods and thought the vibe was nice and the food looked great through some of the photos online. Once we arrived, parking was definitely a bit difficult. However, we found a spot and walked past Tiny's Milk and Cookies (my GFS favorite), and we're excited to find out they were directly connected to Tiny Boxwoods. We didn't make a reservation, but I would highly recommend it! We got lucky because there was a table for two directly in the sun that no one else wanted lol. While the sun was HOT, the atmosphere made up for it! Our server was so kind and very helpful. She answered all of our questions and even let us in on some tips that made us so excited to come back! (Hint: Pastry board=Tiny's...). We ordered the Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich as well as the Lucky Burger. We split both and nobody was disappointed! The club had a perfect balance of pesto and avocado while the turkey was fresh and filling. The burger was simple but in the absolute best way possible. The bun was fluffy and the meat was cooked well! The patty just melted in the mouth! Both sides (sweet potato and regular fries) paired very well with the main entree! We are so excited to come back for that pastry board ;))

We visited Tiny Boxwoods during a weekend trip & it was absolutely one of our very favorites! Whenever I return to Austin, this will be a must! Not only is the surrounding area very cute, but the restaurant is very tasty! We both got the 'Mother's Breakfast' with a side of fries - one side of house fries & another of waffle sweet potato fries. Truly you can't go wrong here!

We had a small baby shower brunch this weekend at Tiny Boxwoods in Austin and it was 10/10!!! This is the perfect place for a date or brunch with the girls. First of all, reserving a table with a phone call to the restaurant was really easy and they were very accommodating when I wanted to add another person a few days before. The vibes - immaculate. The details - they didn’t miss. Even their menus are beautiful! They have delicious iced lattes and their appetizers were DELISH. I’m still dreaming about the wood fired artichokes! Our food was amazing. Our server was great and I have zero complaints about anything. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Food here is always great, especially the pastries! Family friendly and delicious with a beautiful patio area. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and food is great. Perfect for lunch or dinner on a sunny day. My favorite dishes are the French toast and the grilled cheese, and I never skip the brioche bun or chocolate croissant.

We sat in the garden of the restaurant. I would say this is a better option than sitting inside. A great place to enjoy the wine and delicious food. I love the fresh and local ingredients and that it's not typically American food. But it's typically well-cooked food.

The people / customers are chic, beautiful, elegant, oozing classiness. The wait staff are top tier! Should have a Michelin star …if they don’t already. It is expensive, but your ROI is 10 fold. This place is great. The staff was friendly and attentive, they never let my coffee cup go empty. It was our waitress's first day, but she did an amazing job and was quick to ensure that we got everything we needed. The atmosphere was a fun classic 50's style diner. It was slammed, but we were able to get seating on the covered patio immediately. I had the eggs benedict and my girlfriend had baked eggs, both were phenomenal. We will return.

I ordered the badass bacon and eggs. The eggs were delicious if you add cheese and don’t like a lot of cheese I would say light on the cheese. The bacon is cut thick which was very good! My husband ordered the brisket and egg burrito, it’s a pretty good size burrito with plenty of brisket.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt like a wonderful surprise tucked into a relaxed Austin setting. I wish I could say my husband and I had a better breakfast experience at Phoebe’s Diner. As for the diner atmosphere, the vibe was super cute and homey. As for the food, I ordered the Benedict with fried chicken instead of ham and my husband ordered the brisket burrito and the sourdough french toast. Now the sourdough french toast was AMAZING— light/fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. But the Benedict dish I had was overall too salty (chicken and sauce) and the biscuits were way too dry. The burrito that my husband ate made him question if he was biting into small bones from the brisket meat but after thorough investigation, it turns out it was just overly crisped hash brown pieces that were in there (yes, they were really that hard). For context, we were one of the first customers that came in for breakfast as soon as they opened at 7am on a Tuesday so maybe the cook was a little sleepy? Not sure but still wasn’t an excuse to have paid about $55 for two meals we felt were inedible at the end and this is a lot to say for two people who are probably some of the least picky eaters you’ll meet.

Food flavors were absolutely incredible. But our soup was cold. Others sent back food around us for being cold too. The restaurant was not that busy at 5:15 but because we didn’t have reservations we had to sit outside. That was fine, it was a last minute decision while we were walking past to sit. However was waiter was absolutely terrible. He would disappear for long periods of time, others filled our drinks and brought us silverware and soy. He was not good. Other servers seemed attentive with their tables. Never went inside but the atmosphere seemed nice. The patio was nothing special. Probably won’t return ever again. Much better options in Austin.

In town for the Lumineers concert the night before… We were searching for something that we couldn’t normally find where we are from. My daughter had to return an item to urban outfitters so we searched for restaurants, nearby and found Wu Chow. Service was exceptional! The dumplings were delicious, but the noodles seemed different than what we are accustomed to. Pleasantly surprised to learn that the waitress removed the noodles from the ticket since so few were eaten. We showed our appreciation by replacing that cost in the tip! The atmosphere was pleasant and overall I’d say I would return.

We went for Sunday dim sum. Food was good, but a little pricey. They do use and source the best produce in the area. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The best part of this restaurant is you can flag down any server to place your order/ drink refill without waiting for your original server.

Came to Wu Chow for our anniversary dinner without a reservation. Online it showed no wait, but when we arrived, there was about an hour wait for indoor seating. Luckily, there was no wait for outdoor seating, so we took the chance even though it was a bit chilly. Thankfully, they had plenty of heaters, and we stayed warm. The food was incredible—we had the Wu Chow special fried rice, shrimp Chengdu, soup dumplings, and chicken Chengdu, and everything was packed with flavor. Service was great too, even though we were outside. Definitely coming back!

My husband & I went for our anniversary. We were actually not intending on coming here but as we were passing it we smelled the fresh ingredients and the aroma made us detour. The vibe is everything. Our server was Jehudiel and he was amazing! He recommended our drinks which were the spicy margarita (mala Rita) & the nien numb, the drinks were different but amazing. We loved them. We chose to have the tangerine beef (extra spicy was an option but man was that kick powerful lol — the peppers catch you off guard so have your water ready). This dish was so full of flavor & perfect. We also had the Cumin Lamb, it was so flavorful & the crispiness on it was top notch. We will definitely be back!

A perfect 5. Fantastic food, excellent service, beautiful restaurant. We loved it. The food is some level of fusion Chinese, but elevated. Though they say it's family style portions, I felt they were more on the individual side. The dumplings were exquisite, as were several of the shrimp dishes. Singapore noodles were delish too. Highly recommend it!

A friend took me here for my birthday and we had a delicious lunch! We loved everything. The egg soup, the Shanghai dumplings, the local vegetables and the shrimp with pecans were all wonderful.

When we arrived, we still had to wait a bit for our table. We were seated outside, but the chairs were still wet from the rain. I had to use napkins to wipe them down myself—something I wish the staff had handled before seating us. Service was quite slow. I wanted to flag someone about the wet chairs, but no one was around, so I just took care of it so we could sit. It also took a while for our server to come by and take our order. On the bright side, the food was good and came out quickly once we ordered. One other waiter eventually came by to refill our water, and I appreciated that. An older woman also made her rounds to check in with tables, which was a nice touch, even though we were still waiting on water at that point. Overall, the food was solid, but the service and rainy weather put a damper on the experience. I think it would’ve been much better on a dry day with more attentive service.

Madison was perfect 👌 gave us space to chat and catch up and was always available for us. Love the outdoor vibes. Go now while the weather is lovely. The coffee truck outside was awesome, too! Got coffees to go post brunch. The food winner: GOAT fried green tomatoes on whipped goat cheese with pecan crumble. 🤩

The food was delicious but the shining star is the cool mid century modern build out they did. The atmosphere is perfect.

We stopped by Sawyer & Co. for breakfast on a Monday morning. It was a bit slow when we arrived, but the service more than made up for it—our waitress was super sweet and very prompt. We ordered the French toast and the biscuits & gravy, and both were absolutely delicious! The location itself is super cute, with a fun, retro vibe and a cozy atmosphere. One thing to note: there wasn’t a changing table in the bathroom, which made things a little tricky with our baby. However, they did have high chairs and booster seats available, which was appreciated. Overall, great food and great service—we’d definitely come back!

Retro heaven !! Chic 1950s diner energy—minus the problematic bits. I ordered the chicken & waffles and WHEW…perfection. The waffle was cloud-level fluffy, the chicken had that crispy flavorful skin (not over-breaded, just right). Our server was the sweetest, attentive but gave us space. Bonus points: the booths are this dreamy Tiffany-blue that makes the whole place feel like a set piece. Love the aesthetic sm, 10/10.

Atmosphere was great! It’s a cute retro vibe. Unfortunately the food was less than expected. I ordered salmon Benedict, it supposed to be over potato cake but they were out so we were told it would be over a muffin. When it came out it was over a biscuit and the hollandaise sauce was minimal. They do not offer a pancake side so you will need to order a pancake entree. We arrived at 1030 and by 1130 the host came by and advised us that he has a reservation for our table in 10 mins. So we basically had to leave. That was quite unprofessional in my opinion.

Love the new menu, especially the house-cured Salmon Lox Benedict if you’re in the mood for breakfast or brunch…the Crispy Potato Cakes, the Fried Green Tomatoes… Friday’s Fish n’ Chips Blue Plate with a glass of true Champagne… Delicious cocktails and wine, or a fun local beer on tap… with a legit third wave espresso coffee trailer on the beautiful patio! Always in the mood for a cortado, macchiato, matcha latte, golden turmeric latte, or shot of espresso. Yum. Yum. Yum.

Food was fantastic. Cold brew was fantastic. Mimosas was fantastic. However, leaving a 3 star because towards the end, yes we were done with our food but we were still drinking our $30 carafe mimosas and enjoying our time but then our waitress comes and picks up our glasses and basically says “sorry not trying to rush but we do have a wait outside” meaning, cause others were waiting on a table. I totally understand that part, however we weren’t done with our drinks and we left her a great tip on our $147 bill. It may also not be the waitresses fault, maybe management pushes their servers to rush people out and if that’s the case, management needs to figure out a better method. Because we’re still paying to enjoy the service and left a good tip. We will think twice about coming back to this diner.

I've been to this location a handful of times and their food is consistently great! I'd definitely recommend going at non peak times as parking is not always easy but one of the best diners in Austin for sure! Goat cheese grits were my favorite!

luckily we were able to me seated immediately but this place packs up quickly! migas had too much cheese for my preference - it seemed to drown everything else out, but my friend’s chicken biscuit was amazing!

This place was delicious. I ordered the French Toast and horchata and my partner got the omlette and short stack. The French Toast was crispy on the outside, and soft in the middle - I would reorder this, but not before I re-order the omlette, which really felt like the star of the meal - the sauce was excellent and the meal itself had a lot of variation on the textures, it was also a lot bigger than expected. I was really happy with it. The pancakes were pretty standard and the horchata was decent, but I would come back for the omlette and French toast.

Good food and food prices were on point. $15 for a cocktail is a bit pricey though. Very loud. Difficult to talk without being loud and feel like I was disturbing others.

The place was great. We got there early enough to be seated right away. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. Even though space is limited, the food and service are fast enough that it doesn't seem like people were waiting too long. I got the brisket burrito, and man, was it good! A little greasy, but delish. I poured the salsa it comes with over my potatoes, * chef's kiss. It has a very small kick but the flavor pairs well with the potatoes. My husband got the flapjacks, which was equally delish. We'll definitely need to come back for more.

This is my favorite diner in Austin. I like to go there early before they get busy. Pictured, the BST Omelette: Bacon Spinach, Tomato. The bacon is thick, the spinach isn't overcooked, and the tomato balances the rich flavors or the egg and it's aioli sauce. So good. I also highly recommend the beet hash, and their smothered tater tot appetizer. So good.

A fantastic dining experience with exceptional service. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by the servers, bartenders and even the managers. The food was beyond anything I expected. The bone marrow tacos are to die for and everything else was just as good. Shout-out to Blake our server who ensured we selected the best dishes for our night out. Also, get the tiramasa. Best thing I have ever eaten.

It was our first time here, and reservations are definitely recommended. As a Michelin-star restaurant, you can feel the elevated experience from the start. With its inspiration in Mexican cuisine, we were eager to try it—especially since I have a Mexican background. We were seated right away and started with salads topped with roasted crickets, followed by flavorful fish tacos. The lamb barbacoa entrée, however, was disappointing. At $70+, it didn’t live up to expectations—too mushy in texture and not at all reminiscent of true barbacoa. It left a lot to be desired. The ambiance was also challenging. The restaurant is extremely dark, making it hard to appreciate the details of the food and décor. On the positive side, service was phenomenal—the staff went the extra mile to explain the menu and the overall concept. This has the potential to be an outstanding experience if they adjust the lighting and rethink the music. For now, it feels like a missed opportunity. Hopefully, next time will be better.

Went in for the first time FINALLY with my friend as a sort of “cheer-me-up” girl date/birthday and was blown away with this spot! Rocky was not only our bartender but also an amazing server from the very start, greeting us with warmth. The menu was a little confusing for some things we were unfamiliar with but Rocky gave us great suggestions as well as helped us understand the rest of it. Each dish was uniquely deliciously with rich flavors that paired well with each other. By the end of the night we were perfectly full, KNOWING we’ll be back again! Thank you to Rocky and the staff for making our night so special!

Mind-Blowing Flavors and Unforgettable Service – A True Austin Gem Wow. This vibrant, upscale Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown Austin is absolutely Michelin-recognized for a reason. My mind was blown by the explosion of flavors and creative spice combinations in every dish — it felt like each bite told a story. The cocktails were incredibly well-crafted and came out quickly, setting the tone for what turned out to be one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. Their bone marrow tacos are a must. Rich, bold, and packed with flavors, the fish tacos were equally phenomenal. After we devoured the bone marrow tacos, one of the bartenders surprised us by coming over and recommending we take a mezcal shot down the bone to celebrate our anniversary. He even took the time to explain the origins of the mezcal. That moment turned an already amazing night into an unforgettable one. The staff here is on another level. Pam and Adrian both stopped by our table to check in and make sure everything was perfect — and it truly was. The service was warm, professional, and full of heart. This is the kind of place you rave about to your friends and we absolutely will. Thank you for an incredible experience!

The atmosphere was nice and the music was relaxing. However, the food was 1 star. To start to got the Heirloom hommus that came with veggies, it was ok. Nothing special. Next we got the bone marrow which the waiter said is what they’re know for but it was bad. It smelled bad when we removed the filling. I can’t even describe the smell. I felt like throwing up. The kale at the bottom tasted better that the expensive bone. (don’t get it!) Than we had NY Strip steak, medium well. It was very salty. I couldn’t even enjoy the flavor because of how salty it was. I wanted to send everything back but my partner refused. It’s a manners thing for him but for the price? Do better. People are paying top dollar. $71 just for the steak. Now the drinks, also not good. We won’t be going back.

Went to Comedor to celebrate a friend’s birthday & couldn’t have gone better! It was our first time dining there and the experience was excellent. The atmosphere is intoxicating, the food was incredible, & Caitlyn, our server, made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. The entire staff made the night exceptional. Special compliments to the chef! Excited to return in the future!

The environment is definitely aimed at upscale. Our server was polite but not the most attentive. Recommendations were a little off for our party size. We ordered nearly everything on the menu, including duplicates to make sure everyone got to try it all. Most of the dishes were what I would consider average in taste and creativity. Our server pushed us to order all at once so that dishes would arrive in proper order but things arrived out of order including a main protein just before dessert. The lamb barbacoa and NY strip were both good. Everything else was just a little on the plain side. The flavors/combos didn't really stand out or present exciting combos. The pescado fundido was incredibly smoky so much that it overpowered all other flavors. Many dishes had so much garnish that it was unclear whether they were intended to be consumed or were merely for decoration. The atmosphere was nice, albeit loud and very dark. I don't think I would visit again.

Breakfast at Snooze on South Lamar was a real treat! I ordered the Garden Harvest Omelet, and it was a great way to kickstart the day. It was so fresh and flavorful, packed with veggies and topped with creamy avocado and the herbed cream cheese that added the perfect balance. The Rejuvenate Juice was bright and tangy, giving me that healthy boost I needed. But the real star was the OMG French Toast-hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly fluffy with that cinnamon-y crunch and drizzled in sweet decadence. Loved the friendly vibe here too; everyone was welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Snooze is definitely on my regular rotation for a satisfying brunch in Austin!

This restaurant is AMAZING!!!! I came to eat here for my birthday and everything was delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were so good. They are the best pancakes I have ever had . They even put a candle on the pancakes for me , which was so thoughtful. The French toast melted in my mouth . The bacon 🥓 was perfect. The Hashbrowns were amazing. Everything was perfect. I can't wait to come back and eat here again .

Fresh and hot food. This place gets an A+ in every class. And the coffee isn't bitter which goes perfect with the breakfast. I live in SF but was born and raised in ATX. It's nice to go home and visit and find new places that don't bite.

First time and loved it!!!, Staff was super friendly, attentive, the place was packed and they still managed to keep a smile and excellent service. Food is amazing, tasty great presentation and loved the variety. Had the Habanero Pork Belly fried rice, girls had French toast and pancakes. Drinks are top notch highly recommend the super green and butterfly lemonade. Loved the TV by bar help keep up with college football and the patio seating is a great option to enjoy the sun shine. A definite must try when visiting Austin

A good spot for gluten free brunch! You can get any of the pancakes in gluten free or get the pancake flight like I did if you want to sample multiple flavors! I think there is a gluten free French toast as well. Definitely join the waitlist before you leave the house if it’s a weekend!

We’ve been here several times, and the food is always fantastic! Whether it’s the refreshing açaí bowl or the hearty brunch burger, everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, which really added to the experience. Unfortunately, the owner/ manager had a bit of an attitude and wasn’t very welcoming, which took away from the overall vibe. Otherwise, this would easily be a 5-star spot.

We chose Forthright due to some good reviews based on brunch spots in downtown Austin. It did not disappoint. The signage is not the best and it’s off the beaten path, but it’s worth finding this gem. The host and servers were courteous and eager to help. The food came out quickly and all of our orders were correct. When asking for hot sauce for my potatoes, I received a suggestion for salsa. They brought 2 salsas and hot sauce to the table. The food was delicious and fresh. The prices were reasonable as we escaped with a $62 bill for four people and water to drink. The pork belly and poached eggs were excellent. Full of flavor and a cooked to perfection. The avocado toast was ideal for my wife who wanted something light and healthy. And the breakfast burger and burrito were enough to fill my teenage kids. Well done on all accounts.

Off the beaten path and definitely worth it. Food was delicious, and the service was excellent. My Bloody Mary was very good (add the bacon) and the water was very cold and tasted great (I’m kind of a water snob). I go the avocado toast, loooved the greens on the side! My husband got to pork belly benedict. Very reasonably priced. We will be back!

This would have been a five star review, but for one important fact, my table was sticky. Otherwise it was a delightful breakfast. I had a great cup of black coffee and the Pork Belly Benedict, which was delicious. The staff was attentive and service prompt on this Saturday morning.

Seated immediately on a Saturday morning by a friendly hostess. Sat inside, although they have a charming patio with lots of shade trees. The interior dining room was modern and well designed. Restaurant was full of happy customers. Food was delicious! Only reason for four stars is the tables were very sticky and unfortunately a fly found its way to our area and was annoying us during the meal. Not the restaurant's fault I suppose.

We had a great experience here at Forthright Cafe! From the get go we were well taken care of. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze and it wasn't too loud from the traffic on the street either. We both couldn't pass up the chicken & waffles and so glad we didn't. It was yummy but could've been better. The chicken was a little burnt and didn't have that great of flavor/seasoning and the waffle was thinner than expected but overall it was good! The fresh lemonade was delicious & my friend tried the lavender chai and enjoyed that too! We would definitely go back and try the avocado toast!

We had a great dining experience here! We ordered the Smoke Show and were really impressed—it struck a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and smoky. Highly recommend if you’re into bold flavors done right. The Brussels sprouts were a personal favorite—crispy, flavorful, and just really well-executed. The duck confit was solid and satisfying. The BBQ brisket tacos were a bit on the dry side, but still had a good flavor profile. On the other hand, the pork belly bao buns were a standout—rich, tender, and absolutely something I'd order again. For dessert, we tried the sticky mango rice. It wasn’t bad, but a bit too grainy for my taste—I’d probably skip it next time. What really made the night though was the service. Our server was fantastic, attentive, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. Overall, a great spot with inventive dishes and amazing staff.

Came to eat on 7/14 to celebrate my birthday and we had never been here before. We were super excited to try this place! No one asked if there was a special occasion..so we didn’t bring it up. We wanted to sit inside but the hostess said no it was unavailable and we could only sit outside. The outside patio is super cute with nice fans so it was cool. We ordered two cocktails, two appetizers, two entrees, and desert. The food was absolutely delicious. However, there were so many flies! It was disgusting. We noticed the table next to us had a table fan to keep the flies away. We figured maybe they brought it themselves because the waiter would notice we’ve been spending our time swatting away flies and would’ve offered us one if available. By the time our dessert came the restaurant got busier and we noticed every single table by us had one, so they were obviously provided by the restaurant and our waiter didn’t have the courtesy to offer us one. Extremely disappointing and just rude. It really put a damper on the atmosphere and experience considering we spent half the time swatting away swarms of flies and our waiter just watched not giving a care in the world. We couldn’t even finish our cocktails because flies flew into them. Would return because the food was scrumptious but will opt to sit inside or if forced to sit outside will ask for a fan immediately when entering.

You can't go wrong with any of the Peached restaurants. Bar Peached might be the best and most convenient of the bunch. They have limited indoor table seating, bar seating, and a couple of outdoor patios. Their social hour is great value. The burger and fried potatoes are the can't miss social hour items. The draft big breezy cocktail is refreshing and accompanies the food perfectly. The cheesy corn is always one of our go-tos. The brisket taco and cauliflower taco are our favorite tacos on the menu. The pork buns and steak also are highly recommended. In summary, try it all you can't really go wrong.

There was an event the day we came and we did not make a reservation in advance. Luckily, they could seat us 3 at the bar, so it worked out. Bartender immediately greeted us, served us water, and asked for our drink order. Once we got our drinks, we got to order our appetizer and entrees. Food came out at a good pace and everything was delicious. Thai noodle salad w/ tri tip - healthy, steak was very good and flavorful. Udon - creamy, delicious, and that pork belly is perfect. Steak and eggs - classic brunch food and a safe choice. The highlight was the Kung pao smashed potatoes - just perfectly crispy with the sauce is so good. The space is cramped, not surprising for Austin, but something to keep in mind. Overall, I enjoyed our brunch experience here.

This was my first time at Bar Peached and I for sure will be back! The staff were attentive and nice. The food and beverages were amazing! There are so many more items on the menu that I would like to try. I highly recommend the Kimchi Steak and Eggs paired with the Grey’s Anatomy.

Impressed from the moment we were welcomed by hostess and wait staff. Beautifully curated atmosphere inside and out and still felt laid back. The signature cocktails Margarita de Peached (spicy)Yoga and Chill (cool as a cucumber) were smooth and tasty. Since it was our first time, we tried a few shareable dishes which definitely whetted our appetite! The Sambal Crab Chips & Dips and Charred Brussels were amazing and you MUST try both of these. Main course was Taco Trio which had something for everyone, vegetarian and GF options as well. I cannot pick a favorite as all of the tacos were delicious! Lastly, dessert was a sweet ending to our meal. The Choco Monster despite its enormity was light and practically melts in your mouth! We look forward to returning asap. Make sure to book a reservation!

A Mixed Brunch Experience with Highs and Lows Our recent brunch visit presented a mixed bag of delightful surprises and disappointing misses. On the positive side, the green juice was a standout, earning raves from everyone at our table. My Bloody Mary was also quite good. A highlight was our server's attentiveness; her proactive inquiry about food allergies and intolerances immediately put me at ease, especially as someone with a severe shellfish allergy. This thoughtful approach truly showed their commitment to diner safety. However, the food quality was inconsistent. My Benny with poached egg and tomato was a letdown. One egg was overcooked and jammy, while the other was runny with undercooked white, and the anticipated cheese sauce arrived unpleasantly cold, significantly detracting from the dish. The dish had potential, but the inconsistent execution marred the experience. While the hash browns were a universal hit—perfectly seasoned and delicious—we'd recommend skipping the bacon appetizer, as it was unremarkable. The most significant disappointment was the strawberry pancake ordered by my daughter's girlfriend. It was truly off-putting, with an unappetizing grayish-beige sauce and an overwhelmingly, shockingly sweet flavor. Overall, while the service and some drink options shined, the inconsistent food quality, particularly with the Benny and strawberry pancake, left us with mixed feelings about our brunch experience. I think I'd like to try them again when they aren't so busy. I also think that sticking to the simpler options on the menu might be necessary in order to get a higher quality experience.

Breakfast was amazing. Brioche french toast was perfect. We sat outside and it was a little loud with trucks driving by but nice fresh air. Sunday has free street parking.

My new FAVORITE! This was a great atmosphere. My girls and I ordered a plethora of different food items cause everything on the menu looked so good and let me tell you.. not one thing was a disappointment . Every item was super delicious and fresh. I’ll definitely be visiting often

First time going here but I had heard great things about the food so definitely wanted to try. Went in for a late brunch/lunch, around 2 pm, so there was no wait time for our group of 4. Everything ordered looked delicious and tasted delicious! House coffee hit the spot as well. unfortunately had to give 4 stars due to very poor service... our server waited on another table before giving us our drinks ( had been waiting for at least 10 min at this point). when taking our order, customer service was subpar. I'm not looking for a conversation from EVERY server but a smile goes a long way. Either way, will definitely return to Snooze for the food! (not the service)

My friend and I came for brunch around 1:30pm on a Saturday. We did have about a 15 minute wait for a table to open up. They have a very big menu with some gluten free options. I ordered the fried rice and my friend got the hash browns. The service was a bit slower since they were busy. However, we still got our food within a reasonable amount of time. I didn’t find my dish particular memorable. There wasn’t a ton of meat in the fried rice and I’m glad I ordered extra veggies to add to the dish. The more traditional brunch options looked great though and I would come back to try something else.

This was my very first visit to Snooze Eatery, and wow—what an incredible experience! It came highly recommended by the friendly front desk staff at our hotel, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by our hostess Lydia who stated that Snooze makes the BEST breakfast! WOW I knew the was amazing place! Our server, Edina. She was warm, welcoming, and full of fantastic menu suggestions that totally elevated our meal. The vibe of the place? Absolutely top-tier. The ambience was buzzing with energy—modern, cozy, and full of character. And the food? Delicioso! Every bite was bursting with flavor. If you're in Austin, Texas and looking for a breakfast spot that hits all the right notes—look no further. Snooze is a must-visit. Five stars for food, service, and a perfect location just steps from our hotel. Can't wait to come back!

Second time here. Denver omelet and a make your own with cheddar and mushrooms. Side of bacon and an orange juice. Fantastic. Fresh, fabulous and great atmosphere. Server KellyAnne was on it... great service. Awesome food. Highly recommend.

Love this spot! Appreciate that it’s gluten free and lots of dairy free options You can stop in just for a beverage or sit down for a whole meal. It’s still not a coffeeshop vibe where you can park yourself with a laptop. Small selection of seating for those just getting beverages. Staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve taken friends here and they don’t usually like it as much as I do if they’re not gluten free already. So I would save this spot for your health nut friends. Great options for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Parking is pretty good here but fills up during peak times. The music was a little bit loud, too loud for my grandpa. Normal for Austin but not ideal for the elderly.

We had a wonderful breakfast here for our anniversary! When traveling, we are always looking for gluten free and dairy free for our allergies. Picnik exceeded our expectations with 100% gluten free and many dairy free options. We enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and the farmhouse breakfast with hot green teas!

Great service makes up for the ok food. Took a risk and ordered a chicken sandwich breakfast style, the bun was soaked in maple syrup (maybe I should have asked prior to ordering but the menu wasn’t specific about it) so I didn’t enjoy it at all. The sweet potatoes were ok, but $22 for a chicken sandwich (what you see in the picture) that I could barely eat was very disappointing. The ginger/turmeric juice I ordered prior to my meal was amazing though.

Since I'm going through some health issues right now, I've been looking for healthier restaurant options. When I saw this place on the My Health Forward website, I knew I had to try it. They're gluten-free and don't cook with seed oils, which is a big plus for me. I have to say, this is one of the few places I've eaten where I didn't feel heavy or bloated afterward--I just felt satisfied. I ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast, and it was hearty! I substituted the bacon with their chicken and the toast with their biscuit. Everything in the meal was delicious, but the smashed potatoes absolutely blew my mind. I definitely need to try their loaded smashed potatoes next time because if the plain ones were that good, I can only imagine how amazing the loaded ones will be! My husband got the Hot Chicken Breakfast Sandwich, and he really enjoyed it. We also tried the blueberry pancakes, which were okay--a little on the bland side. I didn't try the elixirs this time around, but I definitely plan to next time. I loved how light and satisfying this place was overall. Service was great and so was ambience.

I crave their breakfast tacos regularly, they’re always so solid. I get: • Sausage, egg, potato and cheese • Bacon, egg, potato and cheese • Bean, potato and cheese The shredded potatoes are like a soft mix of hash browns and mashed potatoes. Tacos are big and full of flavor. The sausage is locally sourced, and the salsa is fresh with a great kick. Staff is friendly, prices are fair, and call-in orders are easy. Highly recommend!

First time trying Dan’s. I got the small burger and the junior basket for my son. The burger was full of flavor and tasted like a good old fashioned burger. The chicken tenders were fresh. The fries were just there but next time I’ll get the curly fries that I didn’t notice until after ordering. Also the sweet tea was bomb, and I judge a restaurant food on their tea, very rare a place has bomb Texas sweet tea without the food matching Lol Staff was friendly and I loved the old school vibes. Will definitely be back.

Yesterday, I came to this location to try a cheeseburger and y’all did not disappoint! 10/10 again Update: Minus one star, because why does it matter which side I order my food on???! Whether it’s To-go or not! Yall have ZERO signage that specifies which side to place an order on.

I’ve always known Dans for their delicious burgers but I just recently discovered their breakfast menu and im OBSESSED! Literally want to bring any of my guests that come visit me to Dans for breakfast! It is such a great deal! The prices are very reasonable and the meals are fulfilling!! I recommend asking for your biscuits toasted! Takes them to a whole new level! There’s plenty of parking at this location. It is a little older but gives you the diner feel. Our server was very attentive and great customer service! I cannot recommend Dan’s enough for their breakfast!!

The food was VERY GOOD! Sitting inside not really a GOOD Idea! My first time there and the Place needs some fixing up! Something fell from the ceiling on my food and spider webs EVERYWHERE!!! Just need to clean up a bit! other than that, It was GOOD!!

This place was really amazing when it opened. Very picnic in the park aesthetics and treats that taste really good. But it feels like the owner is focused on doing whatever is cheapest. The silverware went from metal to cheap, plain plastic which is hard to cut the croffles with. I was swarmed by fruit flies on my last visit, and the fruits on my croffles tasted a little off too. You order from a stand now instead of speaking to the workers directly, which feels awkward. It seems they also got rid of their blooming teas which is disappointing.

If you are looking for a sweet treat or drink, the food and coffee were good, but a little expensive especially the drinks. If you want to take pictures of food and a cute cafe, the aesthetic is okay but not as good as their northern location. The biggest issue here is that they have a fly problem. They need to put some commercial fly traps or something to deal with this because it kind of ruined the experience having to fight off flies while trying to eat.

So for ambiance it’s definitely 10/10! Very pretty and aesthetic. But boba drinks are like 4/10 as they were too sugary even after I specifically said less sugar. And also desserts are OK not exceptional. We tried chocolate toast and strawberry foam cake. They are very pricey about $12 each.

Amazing! Hands down my new favorite spot for dessert and all things sweet and satisfying! I was not expecting to have such a perfect experience at this dessert shop. Hey only downside was parking, a bit tricky and frustrating. We parked kinda far away. They have self serve kiosks by the entrance where you order yourself. Our order came out real quick. The staff was quiet but super friendly. It was my boyfriend’s birthday, I asked for a candle and they helped me out with that and a lighter. Super nice, speedy and professional service! Our pancakes and crepe cake were to die for. I had never had something so delicious before. This spot is a must try in south Austin! An absolute gem! Love the pink decor!

As a serious foodie I am not into frou frou food. However, Chez Zee is a Lenten pilgrim's sustaining fast. I had the broiled Salmon on mushrooms and spinach. The broth was so good that I ordered bread to clean my plate. Salmon was tender and I did not use my knife. I found three tiny bones that never entered my mouth because the salmon opened as soon as the fork touched it. Fast service with a delightful smiling Texas air. Parking is tight because fellow Texans enjoy great cuisine too. Must do Sunday Brunch because the pancakes will be dreamy. For dessert I brought home the LAST ST. PADDY'S GUINNESS CUPCAKE! The boyo was moist and I didn't need coffee. Chez Zee exemplifies the art of mighty fine cooking. Sunday is around the corner!

Fantastic experience! We got the smoked pork chop with sweet potato mash and garlic green beans along with the seafood pasta special. Probably one of the best pork chops I've ever had and was cooked perfectly. The cucumber jalapeño margaritas were also very good. Finished it off with the chocolate decadence cake fir desert...so good. Highly recommend 👌

Rainbow trout was like butter and the mashed potatoes were prefect with texture and flavor. Both flat iron steak and fries were slightly underdone. The fries flavor was still great. Tried 5 different desserts The sampler, the chocolate decadence, and the ginger bread pudding. All amazing! Couldn’t taste the raspberry in the chocolate cake. The ginger bread pudding was more a ginger cake with a thin glaze than a bread pudding. Still so good on both accounts. Hummus was good Music was amazing!!!

I would classify this as a fine dining place. The French toast and eggs were really good everything else was just meh. My drink was not worth the price. I’m really indifferent about this place, it’s definitely for the older crowd.

I went there for my birthday, specifically because I love their Lemon Rosemary Cake. Delicious! All the food was great and the staff was so friendly.

I was dubious, but it was fantastic. It was a peak time, and I was alone. Walter was my waiter and he did an excellent job. He gave me just the right amount of privacy, made excellent suggestions, and made sure I was taken care of. The deviled eggs were incredible, the steak was delicious and cooked perfectly to what I asked for. Even the fries and the garnishes were good. I don’t have a single bad thing to say, which is unusual for me lol.

I'm struggling to understand the glowing reviews and high star rating for this place. We arrived for our 8:45 PM reservation at 8:30 PM. The host, with a terrible attitude, directed us to wait 15 minutes upstairs for a table that was already ready. When we returned at 8:45 PM, he ignored us until another employee stepped in to help. His behavior was both rude and racially biased. The experience upstairs was equally bad. It was raining, the area was in disrepair, and we got soaked. The drinks were undrinkable; I can’t believe they messed up a mule. The menu was disappointing, offering only a handful of unexciting dishes. The short ribs I ordered were tiny and bland, and my friend's chicken schnitzel tasted like something you’d get from a freezer bag. Paying $100 each for this was outrageous. Our server was the only bright spot, but he was completely overwhelmed, forced to bartend, serve, and bus tables. The delays were a direct result of the restaurant's inadequate staffing, not his service. I expected an upscale dining experience but instead got something that felt like a fast-food joint.

Caroline’s Café is such a hidden gem in the perfect spot — surrounded by so many fun places and local spots to check out! 🌇 The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was fast and amazing. My food came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were so friendly and made the whole experience even better. Whether you’re grabbing coffee, brunch, or just hanging out, this place is definitely worth the visit! ☕💛

After another trip to Austin and trying "the best barbecue", I decided to switch tracks and get a regular meal. I stumbled across this corner restaurant and had the best food I had in two trips to Austin. I didn't have a reservation but they were happy to seat me at the bar which I actually enjoy even though I don't drink. The bartenders were both quite busy but helped me immediately when I sat down. One recommended the Wild Mushroom Bolognese and he was right. It was fantastic. I started with sweet tea and spicy deviled eggs. Whatever was on the center of the plate was gone when I finished the eggs. The Bolognese was delicious with the pasta cooked perfectly. The biggest problem with mushrooms is they're usually overcooked. These were perfect and added texture and flavor to the sauce. I definitely recommend this bustling restaurant if you have time and I do suggest a reservation.

We had a good experience overall at Caroline. The food was really tasty, and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio. That said, the service was on the slower side, and it would’ve been nice if they had cleared the dirty tables around us while we were eating. One thing I didn’t love — at the end of the meal, they mentioned a 20% gratuity had been added because of F1 weekend. It would’ve been better if that was disclosed upfront. Still, the atmosphere and food were enjoyable enough to make it worth a visit.

My green enchilada brunch plate was pretty good. The sauce was great but the tortillas were a bit chewy. Rachel, my server and bartender recommended the tres leches for dessert. When it arrived I was surprised to see that it wasn’t oozing milk but it was still very good!! Thanks for the recommendation Rachel. I had their Mexican cold brew coffee and it was absolutely phenomenal. Rachel also was a great waitress/bartender and tended to me exceptionally well.

Spent the weekend in Austin and walked over to Caroline’s for brunch. It was busy but we got seated quite quickly considering. Nice atmosphere, good food, and our server Aaron was lovely to chat with. Adding to our list of return locations when we’re back to visit.

Came to Austin for the Star Seeds experience. Saw they moved but with the pictures their website, assumed it was still a diner. It’s not. It’s a ghost kitchen. If you are changing your entire brand, own it. Be proud of it. Say we couldn’t make it work anymore, and we changed course. Don’t hold onto the past. Change your pictures and clearly state your intentions. Very disappointed.

Well, I think it's the worst salad I've ever bought in my life. They'd never given me burnt lettuce or avocado made into guacamole. A salad so simple that they didn't even bring tomatoes. They didn't even give me rum sauce. Nothing. What a disgusting salad. I didn't go back because I don't want to leave the bad and embarrass them in the restaurant. But let them be embarrassed here so that more people don't fall. What a disgusting salad? Or and don't put fake photos when they're not salads from there and that the salad that's here in the profile has nothing to do with the salad that they gave me. Disgusting taxi. I paid $30 for a lettuce all burnt.

Rating Stars Cafe was tough. Visiting Star Cafe (fka Star Seeds Cafe) was like traveling back in time. During undergrad, I came here a few times for late night eats (24 hr diner). This breakfast trip was a reminder that you don’t come for standout food, but passable food with great ambience and (depending on the staff) good music on the house speakers. That said, the food was on the cheaper side which was nice. There was one waitress who also worked the cash register this morning. She was very sweet and accommodating. I believe there was just one person in the kitchen. First opened in 1966, it’s at risk of getting displaced by I-35 expansion plans.

Great experience...open 24 hours day..a hidden treasure in the down town Austin...the longest 24hr restaurant in Austin...it survived the pandemic, but barely..parking is a bit tricky but don't let that deter you. Keep this landmark open... food was classic diner with breakfast served 24hrs a day and happy hour drinks we're awesome. There is a propane smell when you walk in but the food makes up for it. I love the Electric green glitter booths. ADA wheelchair accessible. No patio for the fur baby. I would most definitely come back here after a concert again.

Ah, the old Star Seeds. This used to be a regular haunt 20 years ago when I lived in the area (based mostly on convenience and friendly staff charm). I returned today on something of a nostalgia tour since it will be closing given the impending highway expansion. The waitress was sweet. I ordered a coffee and looked forward to the Eye Opener breakfast (biscuits, sausage gravy, topped with eggs) and a side of hash browns. I was informed 10 minutes later that there was no sausage. So, I ordered the same breakfast with bacon and was then informed there were no hash browns. Okay, fine. Then was told about 10 minutes later there were no biscuits. At this point I paid for my coffee so I could provide a tip and left to go get breakfast somewhere that actually had food. As I left the smell of bleach escorted me out the door. So yeah, Star Seeds, pretty much as I remembered the place, regardless of the shortening to Stars. Star Seeds by any other name would still smell... I wish the ownership and staff the best as things in Austin inevitably change.

Avant-garde café sitting on the freeway feeder. Open 24 hours. Inexpensive. Stellar atmosphere and good food. Delicious hamburgers. 🍔. Wide menu selection for a small cafe. Great for late dinner or early breakfast. Sweet waitstaff pay attention to the customers. Safe area, but be vigilant if you’re dining in the early morning hours. Fun place to eat.

Popped in her after the Formula One weekend. Seen it advertised/featured/referenced in so many tv shows and films we had to experience it. Friendly service from the moment we walked in . Food was tasty, hit and generous. Best bit was the server who unprompted topped my coffee up. I felt truly American in that moment.

IHOP is always a great option if you don’t want to take risks trying a new restaurant or feel overwhelmed by the amount of restaurants nearby. Great coffee, amazing and fluffy pancakes, and the food is good. I prefer to always have breakfast.

I had a great experience at this IHOP! The food was delicious, came out quickly, and everything was fresh and just what I wanted. The service was excellent. The hostess which was also my waitress was super friendly, attentive, and really on top of everything. I was very impressed with how smooth and enjoyable the visit was from start to finish. Definitely one of the better IHOP experiences I’ve had!

Great food and quick polite service. The location sucks. When we walked out front door a man with his paints below his knees was smoking a cigarette. Very bad area to be in.

So my niece and I went twice, visiting from Houston for two days of concerts. Well the first visit was at night and the manager on duty was amazing. She had it all under control and with a smile. She even had a new server, who did great, but she was being patient with her as well. I know under her guidance that server will be amazing. Then we went a second time during lunch and once again the staff was amazing our server was amazing and so polite. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely be coming back. The food, the service....totally worth coming here.

I had an awesome experience at IHOP thanks to Diamond, who truly went above and beyond. From the moment I sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and upbeat, making the entire meal feel welcoming and relaxed. My order came out perfectly, and she checked in just the right amount, never rushed, always smiling. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers and takes pride in her work. If every restaurant had a server like Diamond, dining out would always be a pleasure. She turned a regular breakfast into a great experience. Highly recommend asking for Diamond if you stop by!

Perfectly fine but nothing special. Big menu, typical of good ol' diners, and good solid diner food. Nice decor with a bit-fake retro look, and comfy but old seating. Very friendly service, and loved hearing the crew shouting and laughing in the back.

Great service from hostess to server. Big portions for all the food. Foods come hot and flavorful. Steak was cooked perfectly!

Good food but was on the pricy side. It’s an extra $2.49 for fries to add to your sandwich making it $16.50. Then they add 3.9% for using a credit card. Lunch was good, atmosphere was nice but wet will not be repeat customers.

Great place for a large breakfast that you can almost share. Love the old dinner. Love the atmosphere, as you can see the crowd is local residence. Come with patience because if it gets busy, service is slow. They forgot to refill the order and bring out the extra we ordered.

Great find. Was looking for a local breakfast eatery and despite that this was my third choice because the wait times at the priority spots were over an hour, it was a great selection. No wait here but don't let that fool you - you have to add this spot to your breaking the fast repertory. Leti was great and the environment was classic. Had the La Tejana Omelet and my wife had the Egg Platter. She said the Hash Browns were the best she's ever had... crispy in the outside but fluffy on the inside - perfect. I love the vintage kitchen appliances on the shelves above the windows. The tables are cool too with imagery under the lacquer.

Went in pretty early in the morning, was a nice quiet place with a few folks eating already, I had the migas and couple cups of coffee and with a tip I paid less than 20 bucks. Definitely coming back and recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a relaxed breakfast that doesn't break the bank.

A normal diner, but the food is good. I got the Jake's cake that had cottage cheese baked into it with ginger flavor. I also add banana as a topping. Chorimigas was delicious too! There’s free parking.

This was a very nice upscale restaurant to get great lunch right on South Congress. They have a good menu and everything was pretty tasty. Right next to the Austin Motel.

The food was excellent and our server was friendly, but we were told the wait would be 30 minutes and ended up waiting over an hour. That took away from the overall experience. Would consider returning, but hope the wait times are better managed.

The happy hour at Joann's Fine Foods is hard to beat! The food is delicious and the portions of the appetizers are plenty big for sharing. We got the hashbrown nachos and the shrimp aguachile (not included in the happy hour but definitely worth it), and both were spectacular! Joann's is perfect for a happy hour or get together with the girls and I will definitely be back for brunch sometime soon!

I absolutely loved this place on South Congress! I’ve been wanting to come here for quite some time, and I’m so happy my girlfriend and I finally got to enjoy a lovely brunch here for her birthday. I tried some Banana cocktail, which was surprisingly delicious, and our food was amazing. I had the tuna melt — the bread was perfectly toasted and sliced, and it came with a fresh side salad. My favorite part was definitely the salad dressing, which had this orange and ginger base that was absolutely delicious. The outdoor ambience was great too — it’s got this retro, cool, yet modern vibe that makes it such a fun spot to relax and enjoy a meal.

I got the chalupa and breakfast Sando. The chalupas surprisingly was more like a tostado. A deep fried corn tortilla underneath a bed of beans, chicken, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken was very very juicy and I think they may have used dark meat only. That being said, for $23 the portion was rather small of only two “chalupas” picture above, with no sides. The breakfast sandwich was good, but thing to write home about. What I will say though is that the side salad I had, you get the pick your dressing and I got the carrot vinaigrette. 5/5 for the dressing. It was a thicker dressing, almost like a dipping sauce consistency. Intense carrot flavor profile with a good tartness. You almost had to use ur fork to scoop some out and smear on the lettuce to eat it like a spread as opposed to a dressing. I really liked the taste and highly recommend the carrot vinaigrette.

I went to Joann's yesterday Sunday night, I knew their was going to be a wait because it was F1 weekend. However, when I arrived both hosts were very kind an greeted us very kindly. They gave us a 25 min wait estimate and we were seated exactly at 25 minutes. The overall service was great and the food spectacular!! I would recommend the fajitas! I would definitely recommend this place based on the service and food quality! I am telling all my friends and family!!!!!

I never post negative reviews so this is a first. Food and wait server were great but the person at the host/hostess stand and the person who seated us could not have been more unwelcoming and standoffish. We came in from out of the area specifically to dine there and nothing else (truth). Entire parking lot dedicated to restaurant patrons was coned off and when I asked if we could park there and that we already previewed the menu and would be quick to order, eat and leave (45 mins), we were told that it was coned off for an event later and that we would not be able to use it. We were not there for any other purpose (not the F1 or anything). That's fine, but when I asked when that event was starting or what it was, no one knew. By the time we left (45 mins later), the parking lot was still empty yet coned off. The person who seated us never smiled or welcomed us once. I knew we would be ordering several large and shared plates so I asked if we could have a 4-top (since the 2 tops were tiny bistro tables), we were told they were reserved for parties of 4. I did not push back on any of this, I only asked to better understand but the person who seated us was very annoyed at my question and treated me like I was an unwelcome patron, despite this being my first and eagerly anticipated time there. As expected, we ordered several large plates to share and nothing fit well on the tiny table. I placed some of the items on the bench seat next to me. We spent $85+ for 2 of us (inc a nice tip for the wait server who was very accommodating). I'll never go back even and I'll never recommend this place.
