Sichuan restaurant
Wu Chow in Downtown Austin offers a contemporary space serving Sichuan cuisine and weekend dim sum brunch. The dim sum brunch, held every Sunday from 11am-3pm, features a variety of shareable Chinese dishes such as dumplings, potstickers, turnip cakes, and egg rolls. It's an interactive experience where small dishes like dumplings, shumai, and fritters are ordered from the menu to be shared with friends.
Gotta give great marks to this spot which has managed to bring (and keep) elevated Chinese food in downtown Austin for a decade now. The flavors are always bright and vibrant, service is the perfect combo of professional and personable, and the cocktails are fun and innovative. Wu Chow is also a pillar of the community in many other ways. You'll often find events hosted here during SXSW and beyond, and leadership is consistent and proactive in giving back to central Texas. Most recently, the owner collaborated with other local Austin chefs to host a delicious dinner series fundraising for victims of the July 4, 2025 floods. I appreciate the way they use food and fun to raise awareness and care for others.

Food flavors were absolutely incredible. But our soup was cold. Others sent back food around us for being cold too. The restaurant was not that busy at 5:15 but because we didn’t have reservations we had to sit outside. That was fine, it was a last minute decision while we were walking past to sit. However was waiter was absolutely terrible. He would disappear for long periods of time, others filled our drinks and brought us silverware and soy. He was not good. Other servers seemed attentive with their tables. Never went inside but the atmosphere seemed nice. The patio was nothing special. Probably won’t return ever again. Much better options in Austin.

In town for the Lumineers concert the night before… We were searching for something that we couldn’t normally find where we are from. My daughter had to return an item to urban outfitters so we searched for restaurants, nearby and found Wu Chow. Service was exceptional! The dumplings were delicious, but the noodles seemed different than what we are accustomed to. Pleasantly surprised to learn that the waitress removed the noodles from the ticket since so few were eaten. We showed our appreciation by replacing that cost in the tip! The atmosphere was pleasant and overall I’d say I would return.

We went for Sunday dim sum. Food was good, but a little pricey. They do use and source the best produce in the area. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The best part of this restaurant is you can flag down any server to place your order/ drink refill without waiting for your original server.
Wesley M — Google review
Came to Wu Chow for our anniversary dinner without a reservation. Online it showed no wait, but when we arrived, there was about an hour wait for indoor seating. Luckily, there was no wait for outdoor seating, so we took the chance even though it was a bit chilly. Thankfully, they had plenty of heaters, and we stayed warm. The food was incredible—we had the Wu Chow special fried rice, shrimp Chengdu, soup dumplings, and chicken Chengdu, and everything was packed with flavor. Service was great too, even though we were outside. Definitely coming back!

My husband & I went for our anniversary. We were actually not intending on coming here but as we were passing it we smelled the fresh ingredients and the aroma made us detour. The vibe is everything. Our server was Jehudiel and he was amazing! He recommended our drinks which were the spicy margarita (mala Rita) & the nien numb, the drinks were different but amazing. We loved them. We chose to have the tangerine beef (extra spicy was an option but man was that kick powerful lol — the peppers catch you off guard so have your water ready). This dish was so full of flavor & perfect. We also had the Cumin Lamb, it was so flavorful & the crispiness on it was top notch. We will definitely be back!
Tangi A — Google review
A perfect 5. Fantastic food, excellent service, beautiful restaurant. We loved it. The food is some level of fusion Chinese, but elevated. Though they say it's family style portions, I felt they were more on the individual side. The dumplings were exquisite, as were several of the shrimp dishes. Singapore noodles were delish too. Highly recommend it!

A friend took me here for my birthday and we had a delicious lunch! We loved everything. The egg soup, the Shanghai dumplings, the local vegetables and the shrimp with pecans were all wonderful.

Dim sum restaurant
Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum is a health-conscious eatery in Austin that offers Chinese fare and locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant is known for its delicious dumplings, such as the Basil Chicken Dumpling, made with tender, juicy bites of protein and herbs. They also serve Shanghai Soup Dumplings, Steamed Spinach Dumplings, and Shanghai Jumbo Seafood Soup Dumpling. On weekends, they offer a Dim Sum Brunch with a fine assortment of treats.
1st time coming to this place and everything blew me away! Fresh made dim sum and dumplings being hand made in the kitchen! Soup dumpling were just amazing. Atmosphere with both in and outdoor sitting areas just added to the great experience. If you are looking for good dim sum and a good spot to enjoy - I highly recommend this!
Freddie G — Google review
We had a great experience at Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum! This cute and cozy restaurant was a fun surprise with its unique and delicious offerings. The soup dumplings are a standout with a flavorful gingery pork soup inside a big dumpling—such a tasty reverse spin! The orange beef on their menu is out of this world. Our server, Lilly, was wonderful—super friendly and on the ball, along with the rest of the team who worked in concert. The pacing of our meal was spot on. And thank you Lilly for the coolest yet oddest dessert I've ever seen. I can only describe it as a sort of strawberry cheesecake ice cream, perfectly shaped like a sleeping cat. Highly recommend this place! Tell them the candy lady from Tampa sent you 😉

We came here to celebrate my brother-in-law’s birthday lunch, and it was such a treat! Since moving from Houston to Austin, I hadn’t found a Chinese restaurant that impressed me—until now. Even as a vegetarian with limited options, everything I tried here was fantastic! The eggplant dish was the family favorite, but the green peas with garlic and the veggie fried rice were also absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. I’m already looking forward to coming back! Pro tip: Make a reservation in advance—this place is very popular, and for good reason! Bonus points for the super clean, modern restrooms with bidets—so fancy and appreciated! The overall vibe of the restaurant is welcoming and stylish, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended. Keep up the great work! Cheers 🥂

I have always been a supporter of Lins ever since they opened the first restaurant on West 6th. I took my parents there when they visited in 2019 and they met Lins husband and found out we were from the same region. My friends and I celebrated birthdays there, big moves, life events, etc and during the pandemic I pulled up and ordered take outs from time to time. I also supported Qi, Lin at the Grove and spent my hard earned money at Lings Kitchen. It was totally disappointing and honestly disgusted to receive the type of service tonight at the original location. My parents were coming from out of town and running late so I called ahead, twice and talked to someone on the phone, informed them we would be late. The person on the phone said all good. When we showed up to the restaurant we were treated poorly by Martin, who showed us to two chairs at the corner of the bar right next to the walkway. He also didn't listen when I mentioned my mom recently had hip surgery and couldn't sit there. The worst part was when he told me straight to my face that he was on the phone all day and I didn't call him tonight to tell him we were running late. You didn't have to lie to me my guy, you can simply tell me you gave away our table and I would had felt better. Rude and disrespectful were his actions. As someone who also works in the service industry I expected more and a bit more professionalism. There were plenty of tables available on a Monday. I guess Martin didn't think my mom and I could afford or order enough dim sum at his fine 6th Street establishment. That's fine, Daisy and her team at Clarks were awesome, highly accommodating, friendly and professional, and offer a table inside with no fuss. Take your money to long time Austin establishments like Clark's, Kome, Josephine House, heck take your parents and your $ to Koriente and the staff there will treat you better, go to Pterrys and you will get better service than Martin. Visit the uncles and aunties at Ho Ho, Julie's Noodles, Asia Cafe, and Rice Bowl, good service, good food, and better experience
Hon L — Google review
Although Lin Asian Bar is likely a lovely establishment with tasty food, I have to leave a 1 star review because I cannot abide poor service. The man at the front of the house did not show that he was well trained in accommodating guests. I walked into the restaurant with my party and put down our names to be seated after a 45-minute wait. But on arriving after the wait time (which I believed meant that seating had become available) I was told that the table we were given would be needed back within on hour (which was 45 minutes later). Why would I wait 45 minutes to be seated only to be told that I should rush my meal? This does not make any sense to me. And it must mean that the man welcoming guests is not properly trained. His service left a poor taste in my mouth.
Chizitere O — Google review
Great service, atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful I have to be honest, the food was good, not amazing Maybe my experience with other soup dumpling was a bit different Also my expectation was a lot higher because of the price I did enjoyed the experience
John T — Google review
I’ve always loved Chinese food, but my husband never really did—until now. This restaurant completely changed his mind! The space is on the smaller side and always busy, so reservations are a must. Prices are a bit on the higher end, but the food is absolutely worth it.

We love coming to Lin Asian Bar. All their menus are really good but my favorite is the dim sum. The food is tasty and comes out very fast. One of my favorites is the yuzu shrimp.

Asian fusion restaurant
Fat Dragon is a low-key Asian restaurant in Austin that's a haven for dumpling enthusiasts. With 13 varieties of dumplings on the menu, including unique options like Cilantro Lamb Dumplings and Coconut Milk Chocolate Soup Dumplings, it's a place where traditional meets inventive. Eater.com has recognized it as one of the best spots for Chinese food in Austin.
Tried Fat Dragon as delivery when my local go to place closed. I was AMAZED by the food, and the portions. This was easily 2+ meals for myself and every piece of chicken was perfect. Broccoli chicken is typically my go to and this is the best one I've had hands down. Soft, savory, with an amazing amount of sauce. Not pictured is a large container of rice that was also 2 meals worth. So tasty especially with the sauce. Cream cheese puffs were also delicious! A lovely amount of filling with the perfect crispy outside. Tried the miso & hot sour soup as well and both were delicious, and such a great portion size as well. Delicious for dipping in too. This will now be the go to place. The quality of everything was top notch. Definitely recommend checking them out or getting it delivered on a night in.
Dayna — Google review
The Dan Dan noodles were not like any other Dan Dan noodles I've ever had and were very ramen-like (soupy). The pork egg rolls were delicious and fried to perfection. The chicken fried rice, perfectly seasoned tasty. Finally the spicy soup dumplings were well made and the last dish to arrive to our table. We are them very quick as they are meant to be eaten whole warm. They were yummy and soul soothing. Old school feel to the place and prices are very fair. Come hungry and leave full. The ladies restroom was not in the best condition but the food made it worth the 30 min drive.
Sahil J — Google review
Miso and Hot/Sour soup were great. Kong Pao Chicken was “good, but not the best”. It’s worth noting that they are HUGE portions as well. Unfortunately the Chinese Fried Rice w/ Chicken wasn’t good. :( No flavor and not enough protein despite its huge portion. Customer Service provided wasn’t too great; at least during my visit. Overall. Worth trying at least once, but not sure I’d come back again.
Leo V — Google review
Disappointing considering my friend once spoke very highly of this place. I never got around to trying it while she was still in town. Just ordered takeout. The service was quick. I ordered the mala mala soup dumplings, Szechuan chicken, and red bean bun. I was expecting everything to be spicy. Sad to say that wasn’t the case. The dumplings were ok. I was expecting more flavor. I was surprised by the Szechuan chicken. I expected stirfry chicken and vegetables but instead there is a very generous portion of fried chicken chunks. It’s a lot of food. But there is no sauce and the chicken was very dry and not spicy at all. There is a strong coriander flavor. I wound up pouring the broth from the dumplings over the chicken to try to make it a little more moist. They also forgot to include the rice. The red bean buns are different. Crispy dough and plenty of red bean paste. Tasty. Not really what I was expecting. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
Marina I — Google review
The food is super authentic — no gimmicks, just solid Chinese cooking. Their mapo tofu is hands-down the best in Austin: spicy, numbing, full of flavor, just like it should be. The decor is simple, nothing fancy, but honestly, that’s a good sign. So many Austin spots focus on looks and forget the food — not here. Prices are really reasonable, portions are generous, and everything tastes homemade. Definitely my go-to for real Chinese food.
Jake O — Google review
Delicious food, great prize, generous portions. I like the General Tso chicken but occasionally mix it up with other chicken dishes. The cream cheese puffs and an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE! The portions are incredible, the flavor is amazing, everywhere else over charges for the same or worse product, we go out of our way to Fat Dragon for the cream cheese puffs alone. We always take our food home though and you can order online and pick up. Also, complementary unsweetened tea while you wait and amazing to-go set up with bowls, plates, boxes, etc. I love this place!
Medievaljedi — Google review
Finding good Chinese food in Austin is a challenge. Fat Dragon used to have decent quality food. Unfortunatley, it is now absolutely garbage. The restaurant is under new management and it is significantly worse than before. Food is all overcooked and dried out, especially the meat. Is it chicken, or leather. Making it worse, everything is way over salted. So salty. I need a drink just thinking about it. On our latest order, they left out the soup dumplings and refused to acknowledge or provide a credit. Now, they're ripping customers off to make a little extra money. It's sad where this place has gone. For your health and wellbeing, stay far away from Fat Dragon. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Amazing food, excellent service, and very reasonably priced! First time here, came on Sunday because two of my other favorite places were closed, and this is now one of my new favorite places! So many choices for food and no way you leave here hungry.

Noodle shop
Julie's Noodles is a popular spot known for its traditional Chinese dishes, offering a variety of options including soup and vegetable dishes. The restaurant gained its reputation from its handmade dumplings, which are a must-try. The classic dumplings come in boiled, fried, and steamed varieties with a thick wrapper and delicious fillings. While the skin may be slightly thicker than other places, the flavorful broth makes up for it.
The employees are kind and efficient! Helped recommend some delicious soup dumplings. We'd heard of this place and finally have it a go and we're happy we did. Noodles are home made and every cut of beef from the shank in the spicy beef noodle to the brisket to the thin sliced appetizer served with chili oil was incredible and cooked perfect. We'll be back many times and can't wait to try the beef scallion pancake burritos and pan fried dumplings. I recommend the beef slice with chili oil and scallion pancakes as appetizers as well as any soup dumplings!
Uhm F — Google review
I’ve been a loyal customer since 2016, and this place never misses. The pig ears are a personal favorite—bursting with flavor and perfectly done. The scallion cake is a must-try: crispy, flaky, and addictive. I have to say i order pig ears whenever am here, has tried so many places no restaurant can compete to this. They’re also famous for their hand-pulled noodles. I remember chatting with the owner years ago—she told me they carefully select their wheat flour and make everything with heart, no added chemicals. You can truly taste the care in every bite.
Phuong C — Google review
visited this place the last two Saturdays in a row. Everything was seriously great! I love their noodle soup. Number 28 is my favorite. Regular noodles which is thicker noodles are good too, but I recommend switching to rice noodles! The beef burrito is also a must-try!
Hyuna Y — Google review
I got the Suan Tsai Spicy Beef Vermicelli, and they gave so much meat! The broth was flavorful with just the right level of spice, and the beef was super fatty and I loved it. The portion size was huge and perfect for a cozy comfort meal. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving something rich, spicy, and satisfying. I’ll be back to try their other noodle dishes for sure. Coming from vegas I was very impressed with this!
Najiha M — Google review
Julie's Noodles truly impressed with their amazing chow mein—possibly the best noodles I've had in a while. Unlike typical takeout, they weren't overly greasy, and the flavor adhered perfectly to the noodles. The crab and pork soup dumplings were very flavorful with just the right amount of broth. The potato salad was interesting, though the potatoes were slightly undercooked and the dressing was too vinegary for my taste.
Heather R — Google review
Service was friendly. You order at the counter, seat yourself and there is a station for water cups, ice, soup spoons, bowls and small plates. No forced gratuity options so that is nice of them considering it’s pretty much a self service. We got the scallion pancakes, chives and egg bun, vegetable rice noodles soup and chicken chowmein. The pancakes were the best item, with slight flavor and good chewy/crunchy texture. The chowmein and the buns barely had any flavor. The vegetable noodle soup was also quite bland but perhaps that is the usual flavor profile that I just wasn’t prepared for. Their chili oil is great, has flavor not just spice.
Malavika K — Google review
This place is always delicious — their malatang is my favorite. However, today the chicken in the chicken chow mein had an off smell. I felt it was better not to eat it. 😢 Since it's summer, I hope more care will be taken with the ingredients. The dumplings are always great, though. I’ll definitely visit again.
Yong C — Google review
Surprised the ratings are so high but what we ordered was not good at all. Chicken soup : the chicken was extremely chewy and the soup quite bland with just some noodles and some coriander Chicken Fried Rice : extremely oil , like all I could taste was oil Pork soup dumplings : Quite okay

Dim sum restaurant
Jade Restaurant is a popular spot in Austin that offers a unique blend of Asian flavors, combining Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese influences. The restaurant is known for its Sunday Dim Sum, which showcases the labor-intensive process of creating delicate and flavorful dishes like shrimp and pork sui mai and Shanghai soup dumplings. The extensive menu features a wide range of options, from Vietnamese shaken beef to Thai basil chicken.
Four of us here for dim sum Saturday 7/12/25. It was excellent, well prepared and a lot of choices. Since we traveled a lot we've had dim sum a lot of places, including San Francisco Chinatown, and this was as good as any and better than most. Our hostess and servers were friendly and attentive, and it was not crowded and noisy like some places. Altogether a pleasant and fun experience. Of course we'll be back.
Roger B — Google review
Did is a very good Chinese restaurant out on 360 near the bridge. Their food is excellent, especially the dim sum, and when I’ve been here, it is not been overly crowded. There’s parking in front, on the west side of the strip mall, and in the back, on the east side. The parking in the back does not require climbing a flight of stairs, so if you’re with somebody who cannot climb up stairs, park behind it. They have an enormous display of wine, although I don’t know if it’s for show or if they actually serve it.
Steve T — Google review
Ordered take out.... its like boiled cabbage, chicken, not stir fried no flavor.... the texture is slime and just wow. How is this place even generating reviews what are yall ordering thai basil chicken nasty CRISPY scallion pancakes greasy and old old. Inedible
Celeste J — Google review
I visited Jade Restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by how authentic and tasty everything was. The Szechuan Beef had a nice numbing spice and just the right amount of tang, and their House Special Fried Rice was loaded with fresh veggies and well-seasoned bits of pork. The Crispy Eggplant in Garlic Sauce stood out — tender inside, crispy outside, with a garlic punch. The setting is straightforward and unpretentious (as it should be for a good Chinese place), and the staff were friendly and patient, taking the time to explain menu items when I asked. Portions were generous, prices fair — exactly the kind of local spot you’d want bookmarked for when you’re craving real Chinese food.

Dim sum was just OK but the dessert items were awesome, especially the sweet tofu—- super smooth and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s something I have not had in a long time-nostalgic. I grew up having dim sum on the weekends with my family. Would go back just for this item. It was pretty quiet on a weekend and I would prefer this over crowded space and long lines.

I really like the Cantonese dimsum in this restaurant because all the dimsum I tried are handmade and very delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere is family-friendly. I highly recommend the following: HarGow, SiuMai, Shrimp and Scallop SiuMai, Pork Ribs, Chicken Feet, Ham Sui Kok, Char Siu Bao, Sticky Rice, Combination Pan Fried Noodle, Seafood Pan Fried Noodle, Chicken Fat Rice Noodle, Beef Fat Rice Noodle.

Amazing food and a huge menu to include fresh sushi! Everything we ordered satisfied our taste buds. From the simplest dishes like orange chicken to Korean short ribs in a clay pot, all were made to impress!

Jade restaurant serves big portions and is a good place to enjoy some family style meals. The szechuan green beans are really delicious and I appreciate that they have a list of vegetarian entrees. The tofu dishes sort of blend together. The ones I have tried are good (hunan stir fry, kung pao tofu), but nothing crazy special. I can imagine that their dim sum is fun to try.

Dumpling restaurant
Steamies Dumplings is a family-owned restaurant that specializes in making their dumplings from scratch. They offer both fresh and frozen dumplings for purchase, and their tips and tricks blog provides helpful cooking instructions for those who want to prepare their own dumplings at home. Dumpling fanatics will appreciate Steamies' location near Austin's weekend farmers market, where they can pick up a bag of frozen dumplings to cook at home.
I generally don’t leave many reviews for restaurants but this is by far my favorite place to eat in Austin. I come weekly and I don’t even like going out to eat. The food is so fresh and healthy. The family that owns it is so kind. The quality of the food is unmatched, they make everything in sight with fresh ingredients. I’ve tried the entire menu and it’s all delicious but some favorites are the braised chicken rice bowl - the chicken is so tender and delicious. The chicken shiitake potstickers and the beef taco. You can’t go wrong. Ok rant over.
Sara A — Google review
Pretty good. Loved the tacos and the pineapple ginger soda. The noodles and the soup dumplings were kind of lacking but with enough sauce anything can taste good 💯 Very convenient place to get take out. No wait staff, order at the counter, very simple. If you dine in they will bring the food to you. Help yourself for water and sauce
Kelly L — Google review
Lots of thoughts, wasn't obsessed with the scallion pancake taco, which is what was recommended to me. Great lunch special. I did like the steamed dumplings, but I wanted more for a spot with so much fame. I'd come back to try the soup dumplings!
Milani C — Google review
The HK-style noodles first of all tasted ABYSMAL. Secondly, they aren't noodles. They're rice cakes that people eat for a light snack or breakfast back at home. Half of it wasn't even cooked thoroughly. I would bite into a piece and it would be half soft and half stiff. Not to mention the condiments used were not fully authentic either. The sesame seeds and peanut sauce were right though. The scallion pancakes were so dense and slightly burnt too. They should've been cooked on a lower heat for a longer time to give it a little fluffiness and a brown crisp, not a black one. I only gave it two stars because the pricing wasn't too bad and the Shanghai dumplings were decent. Really disappointed as a HK person
Fanyu H — Google review
Zero enthusiasm upon entering an empty restaurant, we initially thought they were closed or closing. Pork bun was inedible, dumplings were ok but lacking in flavor. Scallion pancake was the only reason for any stars cuz it seemed to be the only thing we did eat entirely

My wife and daughter are dumpling snobs and are very particular about what they seem a good dumpling. Needless to say Steamies crushed it. My daughter and friend took their first bites and applauded. Also throw in the fantastic service and welcoming vibe and it ranks at the top of our list. And that seasonal honey ginger Thai...yes please
Rocky S — Google review
Delicious dumplings. The handmade soup dumplings were juicy, plump and delicious. The pork and cabbage dumplings were pretty good. The sticky rice with Chinese sausage was a little dry. We were greeted by a very nice lady as we walked in. She was very pleasant as she took our order. After your order you help yourself to the condiment station and water. The house sauce and chili oil are the way to go. Portions are a little small for the price, but expected for the location. There are only a handful of annoyingly small circle tables. The bench along the wall is an efficient way to seat more people in the small space, but the tables don't have enough space for two people, their food, sauces, drinks and utensils. Larger rectangle tables would allow more surface area in the same space. With the tiny tables, its like they don't want you to order too much food. Just come for your dumpling snack. This is not a really full meal much less a family meal place. The tiny stools are uncomfortable and couples end up sitting side by side on the bench. Maybe it's so that you don't stay long and they can turn the tables quicker. I think they are focusing on their takeout / pickup frozen dumplings. Parking is difficult with the shared lot with all the other restaurants and 99 Ranch.
Gregston C — Google review
I was very excited to try this place since I love all things dumplings. Overall the food was fresh but unfortunately not very flavorful. I ordered the soup dumplings, pork and cabbage potstickers, scallion pancakes, and cucumber salad. A few of the soup dumplings were somewhat pink on the inside which made me concerned that they weren’t cooked all the way but I could be wrong. Service is very kind and I like the concept, but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Dim sum restaurant
QI Austin: Modern Asian Kitchen is an upscale restaurant with a farm-to-table approach, offering a menu of elevated Chinese cuisine and dim sum. Chef Ling Qi Wu's downtown establishment features luxurious decor and innovative dishes such as salt and pepper lobster, scallop sui mai with caviar, and Akaushi beef potstickers. The restaurant also offers an extensive dim sum menu during weekend brunches, showcasing a variety of dumpling options.
Their soup dumplings are absolutely delicious! You can even watch the staff making these tasty dumplings on-site! I especially love soup dumplings, and this is already my second visit because of them. The hot and sour soup is flavorful and is also the second time I’ve ordered it. The lobster dumplings are amazing, similar to the shrimp dumplings you’d find at dim sum, but with fuller meat. The salt and pepper shrimp go perfectly with rice, and they even include a small bowl of rice and soup for free. But! Why would a chef cut ginger into such thin and tiny pieces that they look like shredded cabbage?!
Jenny X — Google review
Went to Qi for a small semi private business dinner. Food was excellent, and the service was impressive and incredibly efficient for the small space we were in. We had the soup buns and the beef buns for appetizers plus egg rolls which were all very flavorful and served hot. I ordered the salt and pepper lobster tails which are breaded and fried. Very good but not quite what I expected, still very good. My table neighbor had the honey beef and shared and it was amazing. The desserts stole the show with amazing presentation and flavor! Great spot for a bday dinner in the future, plus a parking garage for easy access!

Great atmosphere with delicious food. Loved their basil dumplings and desserts! I would get the dumplings every time I visit here! The dessert chef deserves a special shout out, all of them look so tempting! The one I had had great texture and refreshing fruity flavors. Truffle rice came highly recommended but I felt it was too strong on truffle oil. Ate it with my entree and tasted better.
Niranjan J — Google review
Came for Sunday brunch after visiting a few years ago and starting our love of soup dumplings. They were just as good as we remembered. We couldn’t quite remember what else we had last time so tried a few items but the soup dumplings were the clear winner. Second choice would be the pork buns.
April H — Google review
Rating: 3.7/5 [dine in] Qi is beautifully decorated and great for events/celebrations, but ultimately it's overpriced Chinese food. Our server seemed checked out--ready to leave and not very confident when answering our questions. Morning Matcha ($16): Campo Bravo Tequila, Ming River Baiju, matcha, lime, yuzu, topped with what I think is a matcha wafer. The drink sounds good but wasn't memorable. Southern Iced Tea ($17): High West Bourbon, peach liqueur, cold-brewed oolong, honey, lemon. Tastes like a sweet tea, but you can barely taste the alcohol. Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup Dumplings ($16): Comes with five dumplings. These were unexpectedly sour and didn't taste like what we anticipated. Scallop Caviar Sui Mai ($15): We expected high-end caviar, so the fish roe threw us off. Still, the three pieces were tasty--probably my favorite of all the dim sum we tried. Crawfish Dumplings ($15): Three bright red dumplings. I'd never had crawfish in dumplings before, but I was pleasantly surprised. A close second to the scallop sui mai. Roasted Duck Scallion Pancake ($16): Comes with four slices. It was fine, but not worth the price. The duck lacked juiciness, and the scallion pancake didn't bring much flavor.

What an incredible gem! We’ve dined here several times, and it never disappoints. From the crispy egg rolls and flavorful dumplings to the perfectly seasoned Asian fried chicken, every dish is consistently fantastic. The service is always attentive and on point—they never miss a beat. The bold, authentic flavors they deliver make this spot a must-visit. Highly recommend to anyone craving top-notch Asian cuisine in Austin!

Asia Cafe is a delightful culinary destination that offers an enticing blend of traditional and unique Chinese dishes, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Nestled within an Asian market, this gem has gained immense popularity, prompting its owners to expand into the adjacent space. The menu boasts over 100 items, featuring classics like General Tso's chicken and cheese wontons alongside spicy specialties such as Zhong Dumplings—filled with pork and Sichuan chili pepper for an unforgettable kick.

We had shrimp fried rice, popcorn chicken and stir fried snap peas. And the food was good. It's kind of a self service place and you don't have to wait long for your food. Highly recommended for a fast, satisfying bite.

The food is very very good here! We ordered beans, pork and fried rice, all are the best Chinese food we’ve tried in Austin. We would like to go back very soon! However, the servers can have better attitude toward customers. The light is a bit too dark, and the background music is also not match the other decorations.

Wide selection of authentic and non authentic Chinese food on the menu. Various dishes were unavailable when we dined in. The house fish fillet with tofu was a little spicy. There are peppercorns in it that numbs your tongue for a few seconds. Salt & pepper squid was a little too salty for me but when you mix with the garlic sauce from the shrimp and scallop dish; it is perfect. The eggplant in garlic sauce is must order dish for me and it was delicious. Eggplants were cooked to the correct texture where it is not too soft and not too hard. Cannot wait to come back to try more dishes!

This is certainly one of the hidden gems of North Austin. From the outside looking in I'd imagine most people wouldn't think much from this Chinese restaurant, but they would be wrong. This place is my favorite Chinese food anywhere. I've gone here a countless amounts of times and I have always really enjoyed the food. The way this particular restaurant works is as follows. You select the dishes you want from their massive menu. Once each one of your dishes is ready, they will call your order number for you to pick up your food so you can bring it back to your table. For the best Chinese food ever, I know that seems a little strange but I assure you it is well worth it. I frequent this restaurant with my friends and we generally have four dishes we always get: Orange Chicken, Teppan Black Peppered Beef, Salt and Pepper Fish, and Stir Fried Water Spinach. These are all superb dishes. Additionally, my friends and I will order a few new dishes with those base dishes each time so I have tried a good deal of many of the dishes they offer. More often than not the new dishes we order are just as fantastic as the above referenced ones. I can also say there Stir Fried Noodle dish is fantastic as well. It's also important to note that the food here is all reasonably priced and not on the expensive side. If you go here on Friday or Saturday during regular dinner hours; expect this place to be packed. Please note that this restaurant also has around three to four rooms where you and your party can exclusively eat together. Happy hunting for your favorite base dishes.

I've been to Asia Cafe several times when I lived closer in Central Austin, but after moving to South Austin, this is the first time I've been after many years. Food was overall good. My family loves Asia Cafe. Portion size was pretty decent, and one thing they have not changed is that compared to many other restaurants, which has increased the price and reduced the portions.
Dharshini M — Google review
Well, I am conflicted about this place. This is one of my more frequently visited places whenever I am craving Sichuan dishes. As one of the customers who remember fondly when it was inside the now defunct Asia Market, I lament the negative changes. There are more varieties, the taste is still quite good. However, the portions have shrunk significantly. Take for example, the spicy boiled beef. I think at this point, it is more appropriate to call it spicy boiled bean sprouts. The whole dish is basically bean sprouts, a few strands of baby bok choy, and a few tiny slices of beef. The taste is still there, but is it still spicy boiled beef? One can observe similar trends on virtually all the dishes. I am not sure if the significantly reduced customers caused this or this caused by current conditions. Surely, there are also more Sichuan restaurants in Austin compared to years ago, in my mind this place is one of the few original Sichuan places in Austin.

Shanghai Chinese Restaurant offers a traditional Cantonese dining experience with a variety of dim sum options such as dumplings, turnip cake, duck, and chicken feet. While the restaurant no longer serves dim sum from roaming carts, patrons can still enjoy the full menu a la carte. The authentic aroma of spices upon entering the Austin location transports diners to the bustling streets of Shanghai. Despite its simple decor, this spot is highly regarded for its genuine and reasonably priced dim sum offerings.
First time dining here for lunch and have only good things to say about it. Great attentive service and good tasting food. Forgot to take pictures before eating so these are after we were done. Portions were huge and this was what’s left remaining. The dim sum is really good too and I enjoyed the Chrysanthemum tea with rock sugar a lot. Highly recommended.

A pretty solid dim sum restaurant. I liked the variety and price wise, it was pretty decent. My personal favorites that I always get are the Black Bean Ribs, Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings), Shu Mai, and Shrimp Rice Noodle Rolls. This place also does a really good Salt & Pepper Tofu. They managed to keep the inside soft, but the outside has a nice crisp. Will keep this in mind whenever we’re back in town.

If you haven’t been here in a while, it’s worth trying again! We came here 2 years ago and were pretty unimpressed, but I read on a food forum that they’ve made improvements and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! We came during a weekday lunch and everything was made fresh to order. Great that it was fresh, but it did take a while for all the dishes to come out. You can tell most items are made in-house, not frozen. Dare I say it was better than New Fortune?? The shumai and shrimp cilantro dumplings were our favorite and had generous servings of shrimp. Spare ribs and chicken feet were tasty as well. Service was good, although the place was fairly empty. I hope more people try it out bc we need more dim sum places here in the city! I can’t be driving 40 min for a dim sum fix.

I’m not a fan of having to order on the phone but it is what it is. Be careful tho, they say the tip is already included but when you go to check out you must enter in something in the tip section to be able to order. Food came out really quick but probably because we were the only ones in the restaurant. Dim sum was good. Peking duck was decent. The sauce for the Chinese broccoli was way too salty.

Not sure why they have only 3.9 star. It was my first time trying their Dim Sum and the food was great, my waitress was nice and active, also the atmosphere is good. I will definitely be back more often.

Had a really fulfilling time here for a dinner in Austin. We got the custard baos, which came out very promptly while we waited for our main meals. We ordered their rib and filet mignon pho and their duck soup, both of which were extremely rich and flavorful—would definitely recommend! Our server was Marvy and she was so incredibly sweet and ready to give us all the best recommendations since it was our first time here, and the other waiters we interacted with briefly were also very kind and accommodating. Will have to come back to try some more desserts!

Highly recommend booking a table in advance, as this place is always busy. We ordered pineapple fried rice, veg dumplings, and Vietnamese chicken. Duck soup with wontons - wontons were good, the broth was good but a little too sweet for me. The duck was tender. Tri-meat - good, but it was served warm. I wanted it hot. The pickled veggies were good, and the fish sauce was great. This dish closely reminds me of "bún chả Hà Nội". Phở xiao long Bao - good. I can imagine pho being good. The broth was deep with flavor and was clear.

Wanted to come here for a while and it didn’t disappoint. The beef soup dumplings were so good, only have ever seen pork or chicken soup dumplings on menus so that was a nice change. Beer and wine were excellent. Also had the orange chicken which was good, large pieces of chicken. The caramel dessert cake was super good too and had nice presentation. Ambience was great, such a cute nice place. Id love to go when they have live music. Waitress was sweet and helpful too. Can’t wait to come back.

Some speciality cocktails are prepared tableside. One in our group ordered the smoky old fashioned which was prepared at our table. We shared several appetizers and I really enjoyed my duck red curry. The curry was very rich in flavor and had a touch of smokiness. Portions were generous. Service was attentive. A band performed popular tunes at an appropriate volume so as to not drown out conversation. A reservation is recommended as there was a continuous queue of people waiting to dine

Ramen Tatsu-ya is a popular noodle house and bar in Austin, known for its funky vibe and classic ramen dishes with a variety of topping options. The restaurant offers delicious and filling ramen bowls that are a must-try for both locals and visitors. Despite the small size, the inviting atmosphere includes additional booth seating outside. Customers can customize their orders with add-ons like corn bomb or spicy chili bomb, as well as extra veggies.
We went with a mostly vegan group and everyone found a great option—everything was delicious and abundant. I had the NU SKOOL vegan ramen (almond milk broth, tofu, mushrooms… the whole deal) and the curry rice bowl—both super tasty. We also shared some edamame to start. Staff was really nice, water was easy to grab, and each table had a little center with napkins, utensils, everything you needed! Chill vibes, good food, and super vegan-friendly. Would totally go back.

Great ramen restaurant in Round Rock. The No. 4 Spicy Bowl was perfectly cooked and had the right amount of heat. The portion was large so I had to take away the rest. We had a great dinner experience at the Ramen Tatsu-ya (North Austin)! The atmosphere here is lively and energetic- the place is constantly buzzing with activity. Despite how busy it was, we were impressed with the speed; we got our order in less than 10 minutes, which is amazing. RAMEN was enjoyable and solid- quite comparable to other good ramen spots. CHASHU RICE BOWL was tasty and the perfect size for a satisfying, smaller dinner. STRAWBERRY YUZU LEMONADE was refreshing and perfectly balanced, definitely not too sweet. They also offer a great selection of adult beverages, including beer and hot sake. The dishes are very reasonably priced. (We noticed the music playlist was certainly interesting, varying from Pimpinela to Hum, which just added to the unique vibe!)

Got the Miso-hot and the Shoy-me(think I spelled it right) and went with the suggestions from Ben. Spicy edamame was so good I added the sauce to my ramen bowl! Fast, friendly service. Solid atmosphere and a great chat with the GM. He even gave us a recommendation for when we go back home to NC!

This was a good place! We ordered the chicken karaage, sho-yu tonkotsu, and the mi-so-not. Our order came out about 10 seconds after we put it in. Somehow, in that time, borne the chasu in the sho-yu and the karaage were overcooked, the noodles and the broth of both noodle dishes were excellent. The sauce the karaage came with was pretty good too. The restroom was cool too. It looked like something out of a Japanese horror film in a good way. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.

We had a fairly average experience. Nothing was really good or anything, but everything was alright. Nothing bad. It just exist. We got the Shoyu, the miso not, and a croquette. I didn't particularly care for that last item, but it wasn't bad. It just wasn't for me.

We added the spice bombs for an extra kick, and they were perfect! Highly recommend this spot!

We had several small plates, and they were all delicious. Service was also outstanding, and as if that is not enough… They have three dollar bloodies and mimosas at brunch!
Robert M — Google review
My family and I were searching for a brunch spot on Father’s Day when we stumbled upon this place with its enticing $3 mimosas. It’s a shame that’s all it takes to draw customers. I recommend making a reservation at this charming little establishment. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the Chinese motif, which gave me a glimpse of the cuisine to come. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly. They do validate parking, and I believe they offer multiple menus, but we opted for the brunch menu from 11 am to 3 pm. I ordered the brisket fried rice, which was a generous portion of food in a small bowl. It was delicious, but I wished I had some sweet and sour sauce to add a touch of moisture to my rice. My son chose the chicken in waffles, which was equally tasty and had a funnel cake-like texture. The waiter was right about the duck fat; it was barely noticeable. My granddaughter ordered the veggie rolls, but neither she nor I were impressed. They were fried too hard for my liking, and the sauce was a bit too salty. Despite the close proximity of the tables, I could still hear the conversations of the people next to me, which was a bit distracting. Overall, the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance, but the food over all was very good.
Renee W — Google review
This was described as a “must visit” by our waitress at the Downright. The only regret I had is that we didn’t go immediately. We made an open table type reservation and showed up early. The place was packed but we didn’t wait long. The atmosphere was relaxed but dressy. When you think Chinese restaurant and you are from NJ, you have a different expectation. I would describe the atmosphere here as hip in a way that seems like the owners kids took over the restaurant and changed it in small ways to make it better. Loud hip hop, little old school Chinese highlights(red paper lanterns, etc) to honor the past but the but cool flowered wall papered walls, lots of visual interest, the ultra simple menu and the relaxed dress in the staff make for a great place to have a drink and eat. The food: Easily the best meal of the week and it was competing with the best barbecue experience I’ve ever had. They had a pork bun special! I’ve had a lot of pork buns (and sometimes they are hard to find) and their take on providing the buns in a traditional bamboo Zheng Long (steamer) and having it be a “build your own” experience was a nice touch. We started with the Buddha’s delight (glass noodles) and it was a flavorful, stick to your ribs type dish that was recommended by the waiter. Really good and something everyone should try. For entrees, the first we ordered was the General Tso’s chicken. If you are expecting an overly sweet, mound of chicken pieces stuck together in an orange candy sauce then you need to leave the north east and head to this restaurant. It was sweet but tangy, darker than the General Tso’s I am used to and easily the best I’ve had. We ate slow to make it last. 2nd Entree was the Honey Pecan Shrimp. I’d like to tell you about this one first hand but my General Tso’s was so good, I didn’t want mix flavors. According to my wife it was excellent: different and delicious. She ate it all. The dishwasher was probably happy with us. We didn’t have dessert because we were stuffed and need to walk it off. If you visit Austin, don’t miss this meal. I don’t have a ton of favorite meals but this one is in my list. I will visit here every time or visit.

Their happy hour on Saturday/Sunday from 5-7pm is such a nice deal. $5 cocktails (2 to pick from) and their $5 entree-of-the-day. I make a weekly stop here and will usually spend like $25 to catch a good buzz and be full. Highly recommended!

Came here with a large group! The atmosphere was really cool! I felt like I wasn’t in Austin for the entire moment I was there. It gives east coast New York kinda vibes. With the lighting, and the energy! The smells of the kitchen, the sounds of the hot WOK.. pretty cool spot! The drinks were awesome, the food is really REALLY good! Like it’s FANTASTIC. They have a cool bar with plenty of seating, and the restaurant has awesome decor throughout. The staff seems really nice and chill as well. They took care of all of our needs, as we were rolling like 12 deep that evening.

This place is DELICIOUS!! We went here for dinner on a Monday night. Tuesday we tried a different restaurant, but came back here for dessert. Wednesday we had reservations somewhere else, but Thursday we came again for dinner. It's THAT good! I can't wait for my next trip to Austin so I can eat here again lol! The Kung Pao was my favorite, but everything we tried was amazing. The drinks are great too, and definitely save room for the donut holes, those are to die for!!!

Went with friends and enjoyed every bite! The salt & pepper shrimp was fantastic, the beef & broccoli was also very good. Their brisket fried rice was excellent! I’d give 5 stars, but the service was sluggish and we didn’t love how they staggered our food, some things came out quickly while others lagged behind and there was no cadence to the meal. Otherwise, would highly recommend this restaurant.

Old Thousand is a standout — their Mala Fried Chicken packs a punch, and the Brisket Fried Rice (with Chinese sausage) is a creative, hearty twist you won’t forget. I also loved the Jalapeño Popper Rangoons and their Salt & Pepper Shrimp — crispy, vibrant, and just the right amount of heat. The ambiance balances vintage Chinese takeout nostalgia with modern flair (plush booths, warm lighting, hip hop playing softly in the background), and the staff were enthusiastic and eager to help with the menu. It’s one of those places where you want to linger and try everything next time.

The menu boasts an impressive selection of pho and soups with both meat and veggie broths, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Always great service here, day and evening. Their Chicken Curry Stir Fry with Brown Rice was EXCELLENT!! Nice and spicy 🌶 I recently tried the Kung Pao Chicken and Pork Dumplings, and can say that everything I've tried so far tastes great! They know how to bring out the flavors of each sauce without drowning the plate. 🤌

Ot really sure why they sell general tso and Rangoons if this is what they give you. It's pretty basic across all Asian restaurants (or so I thought) neather items taste like what you want. They should just call them a different dish.

This place has tanked. 2 orders ago they got the order wrong, but hey, it happens. The last order I got was delivered but the food never made it. I called the store a couple times and I kept getting told "the manager will be in tomorrow". Then I was told they won't refund it. I don't know if it's new ownership or what is going on but this place has become disgustingly shameful. In response - Who are you? When did we talk? I talked to 4 people and never got a name. Why is your staff promising refunds if you won't give them? Why would I want food remade 3 days later? Not a single apology. Terrible customer service. Inconsistent. Poorly handled. You say you're here to help yet you refuse a reasonable solution. Crazy

They have some fairly good pho, though I found myself preferring the dumplings and wontons. The brisket and steak wasn’t the best, but certainly pretty good. They give good portions and are accommodating for tweaks you might want. They provided us with extra jalapeños and hot oil. I’d be curious to try the chicken pho here as well at some point. No complaints, just not the best I’ve had. P.S. They incorporate tip into the bill by adding a 12% service fee, so don’t worry about tipping.

The pho is great. The combo fried rice was not flavored, just really bland, boiled chicken, only 3 shrimps. Get the Pho the broth is 🔥

Warning for dine in: tips are cash only. We ordered the pan-fried pork dumplings, shrimp spring rolls, grilled shrimp vermicelli and the grilled chicken and egg roll vermicelli, and Vietnamese iced coffee. My friend had never had any if these before and loved it. I've been here a few times already and got take away. Take away has an option to tip.

I went here for lunch on a Tuesday. Very busy but not much of a wait for a seat. The spring rolls and peanut dipping sauce were basic. The peanut sauce was very watery & diluted, not a lot of flavor. The broth in my pho ga tasted good. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable but I would not go back again.

Food was good, a busy take out place. Beware if you eat in, they charge you a 12% fee(in small print on menu at the bottom)...when you order to go they charge you a 3% bagging fee 🙄...they charge you $4 for a 20oz cup of lemonade they bought at Costco 2pack 96 oz for $8.

Clean environment, friendly staff who offered suggestions upon my request, and the Jhane Ko Momo dish was delicious. I like onions with my dish, this one has a lot. The dumplings were so soft you can tell they are fresh. Drive by here everyday and imnot sure why I have not stopped by here. Glad I did and I will be back as I am curious about other menu items. I prefer my food with full flavor and I believe they can fulfill my pallet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic Nepali Comfort Food & Amazing Flavors! I had a fantastic dining experience at Himalaya Kosheli Nepali & Indian and would highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Nepali food with rich flavors and heartwarming hospitality. I ordered: • Steam Chicken Momo • Chicken Jhol Momo • Chicken Thupka • Chicken Lollipop Every single dish was delicious and freshly prepared. The Steam Chicken Momos were soft, juicy, and packed with well-seasoned chicken filling — just like you’d expect from a true Nepali kitchen. The Chicken Jhol Momo was the star of the night! The flavorful soup-like curry was perfectly spiced and comforting, making it a must-try dish. The Chicken Thupka (Nepali noodle soup) was warm, hearty, and full of fresh vegetables and tender chicken. It instantly felt like homemade comfort food. The Chicken Lollipop was crispy outside, tender inside, and paired well with their dipping sauce — a great appetizer to kick off the meal. The service was friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated the cozy atmosphere. You can tell the food here is made with love and authenticity. Whether you love Nepali cuisine or want to try something new, this place won’t disappoint! ✅ Delicious food ✅ Authentic flavors ✅ Great portions ✅ Friendly service I’ll definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend! 👏

The food was sooo yummy! We tried the vegetable momos — super tasty and packed with flavor! The lacha paratha and malai kofta was also amazing — soft, flaky, and just hit the spot. 😋 Service was quick, and the staff were super friendly and polite. Loved the overall vibe — definitely coming back again!

I ordered chicken momo from them when I was really starving and the momo I received got red stains on both sets. With the food quality concern, I called them and told them about the stains but they were so rude and said you didn’t order from us and get the refund from uber eats . They were showing attitude to me saying it is the first time that happened repeatedly and I told them that I wanted to talk to the owner but surprisingly the owner himself was talking in such a bad manner who claimed he packed the momo by himself and he was like “sometimes it happens” like really? This is what you say to a customer when they call you to out of their health concerns? They not just wasted food but my time because I had to re order the food again and it will never be from them from today .

Amazing experience at this Nepali and Indian restaurant. The server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. They explained the menu, gave great recommendations, and provided top-notch service throughout. The food was full of flavor, especially the chowmein, shrimp vindaloo and chicken tikki masala. A perfect spot for anyone who loves great food and even better hospitality.

The food here is absolutely amazing! The momo and samosa are the best I’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Everything from the food to the service and cleanliness deserves 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Bao'd Up is a modern Asian restaurant in Mueller Aldrich that offers delicious Taiwanese buns and burgers as well as smoothies and bubble teas. The menu is easy to follow and the food is fresh, making it a great option for anyone looking for quality Asian eats.
My husband and I visited this past weekend. We ordered two Brown Sugar Bobas, one order of their Crispy Chicken Tacos, and one Egg Custard Bao. Everything was delicious. The boba drinks were very good and a great size. The crispy chicken tacos were a decent size and very tasty. Lastly, the egg custard bao was very good and not overly sweet which was nice. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. They have a good amount of seating but with how busy it was we didn’t get a table immediately but, some people left right before our food came out which worked out well.
Samantha L — Google review
We came here for dinner and ordered the crispy chicken taco, crispy chicken basket, and custard baos. Since we were really hungry, these filled us up. Beware that the pictures on the menu make the items look much smaller than they actually are. So portion sizes are pretty good. The crispy chicken tacos were good, but I wish they came with a sauce to add extra flavor. The crispy chicken basket had a generous portion, and my husband really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the custard baos--they were very plain and lacked flavor. I was expecting something more dessert-like. Overall, I'd still recommend this place for when you are super hungry and need food fast. The food was good, the service was good, and they have a few tables inside for seating.
Vis V — Google review
Most of the food was cold besides the rice and the dumplings. The chicken dumplings taste like the chicken comes out of a can. Even the fried chicken was cold. The only thing I ate out of my whole order was my steamed chicken potstickers. I spend $62 and what a complete waste to only eat $6 worth of the food. I won’t not recommend.
Kc N — Google review
Decent spot for commercial grade dumplings and Bao’s. I’d say it’s worth a stop if you have a craving or just need a dumpling/bao fix. We didn’t order soup dumplings cause that looked kind of wack. I wouldn’t necessarily tell a friend or family, especially if they’re Asian, to come here unfortunately. So if you’re expecting some top notch dumplings, I’d still skip. But if you’re just looking to casually grab a bite, this is worth a visit.
Lisa N — Google review
The food was underwhelming and warm. Pork belly didn't taste good, compared to many other spots in Austin. The filling portions in the bao were on the light side. The tables were dirty. It's very unlikely we'll return.
Black&White P — Google review
Fast comfort Asian food. Get a four pack for decent deal. Spicy Brisket, Juicy Pork, Pork Belly and Crispy Chicken were our choices. They were good enough we got the same four twice. The soup dumplings were a little small but decent for fast food. The counter service was helpful and patient. We ate there so they were nice and hot.
Gregston C — Google review
We were dine in but they were swamped with take out orders and we waited our food for a while. Not authentic Chinese food to be clear and everything tasted bland. The meat they used for fillings are not in good quality. If you want to try it just order a pick up there’s no service at all.
Lily W — Google review
The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was OK, nothing to write home about. We tried the veggie, pulled pork, chicken, and some other bao I can't recall. It just tasted a little bland, and the chicken bao barely had anything in it, just 3 tiny pieces of chicken. We tried the Thai tea with boba as well, and the boba was really tasty. The drink itself tasted too milky compared to other Thai teas I've had. It was so pale.

Nestled in North Austin, Chen's Noodle House is a delightful haven for lovers of Chinese noodle soups and other delectable dishes. While the ambiance may be simple, the flavors are anything but. The standout spicy beef noodle soup boasts a rich broth that’s both hearty and invigorating, featuring hand-cut noodles and tender beef that make it worth any journey. For those looking to explore more of the menu, don’t miss out on their leek pie or lamb skewers—each bite promises satisfaction.
Some of the best noodles ever. You can tell they’re hand made and fresh. The lamb skewers had amazing seasoning on them as well. I got the chicken noodles and my friends got the spicy lamb, both are amazing and good portion sizes. Definitely coming back again.

Hidden treasure in an inconspicuous strip mall that is loved by many. Our go-to is the spicy beef noodle soup and lamb skewers. Mr. Chen's food always revitalizes me, especially after a hard day at work. I make sure to come here at least once a week. Ever since I've grown to love his food, I feel incomplete without it 7/18/25 Update: I tried the mala beef noodle soup. It was so good. My only regret was not trying it sooner. If you like the sharp tangyness of Sichuan peppers that come with that slight but pleasant numbing sensation, you'll like this for sure

This is not the place if you want to go on a fancy dinner with your whole family. Chens is small, unassuming but is serving up delicious food for a good price. The dumplings were plump and juicy. The lamb skewers were coated with spice. The wonton soup reminded me of broth my grandma would make. The noodles were chewy and filling.

with this place is it will ruin all other Chinese restaurants for you. Absolutely the best noodles in Austin. Spicy lamb is my go to. Also, hands down best dumplings I’ve ever had. Mr. Chen is a very nice guy with such a talent for what he does. He will make the noodles right there in front of you and there’s nothing like his fresh noodles. I cannot recommend this place enough. I absolutely love it.

Chen's Noodle House (陳記麵館) might not have elaborated decorations inside or out, but provides that familiar dining experience that I had in either China or Taiwan. We ordered the Beef noodle soup, spicy dumpling soup and cold pork (appetizers). All dishes had unique but familiar tastes of back home cooking; the portion size generous and the price was very reasonable. I am more than happy to have "discovered" this place and will definitely be revisiting to try other dishes. As of January 2024: I decided to try their "Mala Beef Fun", which is transparent noodles in numb-spicy (Ma-la) soup. Not bad, but I was expecting a little more numbness... 😅😅😅

Excellent dining at this “hole in the wall” noodle joint! We were looking for a unique spot in Austin and got directed here via Tik Tok. Great hand pulled noodles, very fair prices. The food and services was fast, plenty of options of how to enjoy the noodles…dry or in soups. We went with a beef noodle soup and a lamb noodle soup. I really enjoyed my lamb, nice tender chunks. And the beef was really good too! The sides were fun and we went with a scallion/green onion pancake so good we got a second order, I think they were only $3 and the noodle bowls were $11. Definitely recommend!
Nathaniel M — Google review
The dishes I ordered were nut allergy friendly. A small mom & pop shop type of restaurant, Chen's sits in the corner of a plaza filled with the most stereotypical Asian restaurant names in the city. However, Chen's manages to stand out and deliver above and beyond. We arrived around 7pm and it took about 45 minutes to order and get food. There is very limited seating, only about 6-8 tables. I saw a good number of people doing take-out. Dumplings: Great portions. They may look like frozen dumplings, but they were pretty flavorful with a nice thick shell and was served with very flavorful chili oil. Mala Beef Noodle Soup N9: Crazy spicy and a little oil-y. I wouldn't drink the soup here but it made the noodles, baby bok choy, and beef packed with flavor. The noodles were fantastic, and they are made from scratch in house. Lamb Skewers: I could eat these all day long. Flavorful, tender, and very sharable. We initially sat outside but our food kept being swarmed with flies. We moved indoors and enjoyed our meal a lot better. Overall, I would give Chen's a 4.5/5 if I could, only because of the annoyance in flies.

Sweet Chive is a popular Chinese restaurant in the East Side that specializes in dumplings, noodles, and daily lunch combos. The menu features a wide variety of dumplings, noodles, and specials rotating weekly. If you're looking for Taiwanese food with a large selection, Sweet Chive is a great option.
I was in town for a conference downtown and stopped in for dinner. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Had the beef noodle soup which was outstanding. You could tell it was made with care and well seasoned. Enjoyed it so much, I stopped in again for lunch on my way to the airport. Had the beef clay pot dish and it, too, was awesome. Very fresh with high quality ingredients. I don’t write many reviews but happy to write this. The food was great, owners friendly and welcoming. It is a small, family-run business that is definitely worth the trip!
Andrew B — Google review
I love Asian food and was really excited to try this place but I thought the food was incredibly under-seasoned and bland, and the service could’ve been better. The best part was the shrimp chips, which my mom often makes at home. I was disappointed you only get 6 given these take seconds to make and they cost nearly nothing. I love egg drop soup and the one here is water with egg in it. The soup wasn’t properly heated up either so the top of the soup was really hot but the middle and bottom was room temp, so eating it was incredibly unpleasant. We didn’t touch it at all. If the server had ever come around or asked us about it, I would’ve have told him. The scallion pancakes were fine. The sauce you dip it in really saves that dish. The noodle dish was again, so bland. We took the sauce for the scallion pancakes and added it to the noodles to try and give it flavour. We also asked for their homemade chili dip to try and make the dish enjoyable. The mushrooms were seasoned well but if you only got noodle in your bite, it truly tasted like hot mush. Our waiter didn’t come check on us at all during our meal. There was a larger table that he seemed busy with. The table beside us also seemed to be a friend of the staff so they were also getting additional attention, which just exasperated the lack of service for us. Overall, the food and service wasn’t good enough to make me a returning customer.

This little gem is truly something special! 🌟 A small, family-owned restaurant with a Taiwanese-inspired menu with hints of Japanese influence, it’s clear that every dish is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a whole lot of care. The food is both flavorful and nourishing — you can really taste the difference in every bite. The staff are so kind and welcoming, treating you more like a guest in their home than just another customer. The atmosphere is clean, warm, and inviting, making it the kind of place you want to linger and enjoy. We finished our food and then just sat to talk, spoke with the family/staff about the artwork on the walls being from children in the local school district. One thing I especially love is their commitment to being eco-conscious — they offer 10% off if you order takeout and bring your own containers! It’s so refreshing to see a business not only serving up incredible food but also caring about the community and the environment. I envision being a little under the weather, needing soup and bringing my bowl to mom’s kitchen. My partner enjoyed the food and the beer selection, apparently Sapporo is a very popular beer where he was stationed in Korea and seeing it here brought him joy and made his meal feel complete. Highly recommend to anyone who loves fresh, thoughtfully prepared meals and wants to support a family business that pours their heart into everything they do.

Modern looking restaurant with free parking. Very specialized Taiwanese menu with a lot of choices to choose from. Out of the dishes that we ordered, the pork jian jiou & the pork belly with purple rice stood out to me the most. The pork jian jiou was dough was crispy and airy at the same time. The pork belly was super tender and the purple rice had a fun chew to it. All dishes were very shareable and a good place for a quick bite to eat. Friendly staff and the owner had time to come out and greet her customers.

Originally from Taiwan, and was exited about trying this Taiwanese restaurant while visiting Austin, TX. It was quite a bit overpriced and in addition, the taste is quite disappointing. 😞 Charging $13 for 3 pieces of "large chip with topping" is pretty unimaginable (Asian Nachos). 😬 The Lu Rou Fan was so salty (台語:死鹹) at $15 without even half of 滷蛋 (soy braised egg). 🥲 The pork Pan-fried dumpling is decent which tasted home made, although the skin is a bit thicker than expected. The Pork Belly noodle soup is also acceptable, due to the beef noodle soup flavor used, although the noodles is a bit overcooked and the sour cabbage is not sour but very salty. Overall, quite a bit sadden by the experience, however, if people do not know what authentic Taiwanese food tasted like, then that explains the Google review star values we saw. 🥹

A friend recommended this restaurant as delicious, open late, and dog friendly! It surpassed expectations! Only one small table outside on front stoop for outdoor (dog friendly) dining. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and attentive. Yes, they provided a water dish for the dog! The food was excellent - I had the beef clay pot, such delicious flavor combination! I asked the server to surprise me with her favorite style of dumplings, they were a combination of soft and crunchy! The chilled spicy noodles with cucumber and chicken tasted even better after the flavors marinated for a couple days (in my fridge)! I can’t wait to go back and try more of their dumpling styles and other menu items! The server/bar tender/cashier Raven was super nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and speedy with her service! Compliments to the chefs!

The BEST sushi for a casual dinner, cozy vibes that are chill (not influencer ruined with crowds). The atmosphere is casual but warm like a coffee shop, and the sushi is better than any of the more high-end typical suspects (uchi and co.). The Hollyhood roll is unbelievable. Spicy chili wontons are the owners homemade family recipe and you can actually by the chili crisps in oil from them by the mason jar. And the eggplant stuff with pork is insane good.

Chinatown Westlake is a popular eatery located in Austins Chinatown Center, offering a diverse selection of classic and innovative Chinese dishes. The menu features flavorful options such as flat rice noodles with beef, crispy fried eggrolls, and fresh spring rolls. Additionally, the restaurant offers an array of soups including Pho Chin Bo Vien and Pho Do Bien. With two locations in Austin, including Westlake, this establishment has quickly become a favorite dining option.
Use to come here regularly but stopped years ago....we would get the same waitress at lunch and she always put out the vibe that she couldn't be bother. Flash forward to last week, decided to give this place another chance. Chinatown has redeemed themselves! Service was excellent, the food was as good as I remembered it. I love their lunch menu, so many options to choose from. At first glance maybe a little pricy butvI assure you the quality and quantity of the meal is worth every penny! My friend got the Box Lunch and she had enough for lunch and some. I just got the Moo Gai Pan lunch special. It was so good. Love their Hot and Sour soup. The chicken was tender and the veggies🥦🥕🌽 had the perfect wok crisp. The hot chili oil is really spicy.. Just needs a little bit to go a long way. Service was superior! I forgot how much I enjoy this restaurant. I'm so happy I gave it another chance. Impressed all the way around!

We asked the waitress what their popular dishes are. She pointed out the menu page and said this side , and we had to guess which dishes to order. We picked Dummy Clay Pot Rice. It looked and tasted just like fried rice served in clay pot, not really cooked in the clay pot LOL.

We decided to try out this restaurant on a whim, but sadly, it didn’t meet our expectations. When we think of Chinese food, we imagine bold spices and rich flavors, but what we got was quite the opposite. The heavily battered and fried pepper steak lacked the authentic taste we were hoping for, and the chicken prepared in two styles also fell short of our flavor expectations. To emphasize our disappointment, we compared this restaurant to Panda Express, a fast-food chain. Surprisingly, even Panda Express offered more satisfying flavors than this place, which was a bit disheartening. Adding to our dissatisfaction was the pricing. We were quite surprised to see a single spring roll priced at $4, which felt like an overcharge. In conclusion, we genuinely hope the restaurant takes our feedback to heart and works on improving its culinary offerings. While we were initially excited to try something new, the lackluster flavors and pricing have left us with no desire to return. Our feedback is meant to be constructive, and we look forward to the possibility of a better dining experience in the future.

Overall, I'd rate this as "average". Everything was okay but nothing stood out. The wonton soup was the best thing out of my order. The broth was nice and salty and it included a lot of chives, with a fair amount of wontons. The wontons, themselves, had a tasty filling but were a bit thicker than I prefer. The Hot and Sour soup was a bit off. It had a nice amount of ingredients but it was a little bland. It didn't really have the classic, hot and sour taste that it looked like it was going to deliver. Lastly, the Kung Pao beef was good. It was more of a bell pepper centric kung pao than the spicy kind, with the baby corn, but the sauce was nice and the beef was tender. I might reorder from here but I would definitely double-check my other options first.

Local staple for many years and a nice mix of Chinese food and sushi. We went as a family of 5 and spent $115 for 2 appetizers and 5 entrees but no drinks. The tia pepper Basil shrimp we are good as it was 15 years ago the first time we tried it. The Mongolian Beef was a little sweet, but still good. Our only real complaint was the bones in the spicy duck Szechuan.

We happen to find this place as we were in the area for my son's football game. We loved it. There was a variety and not typical menu you would find in a regular restaurant. My son had the lamb chop and while it tasted good according to him, I felt the portion size was a little small for the price. However, their roti plant with chicken curry and dim sum was good. The sushi platter and the seafood clay pot we had was amazing too. Can't wait to try some other dishes on our next visit.
Dharshini M — Google review
We found a piece of metal in our orange chicken!!!! Large wonton soup only had 4 wonton and tasted watered down. Noodles were mushy and the basil chicken was too salty to eat. The food is going in the trash For $80 this was a complete rip off for our family of 3 dinner

This is a pretty nice little Chinese place. The food is above average and the atmosphere is lovely. I recommend the Schezuan duck or their steamed pork and shrimp dim sum (dumplings). They have miso soup as a starter despite it not being on the menu, so just be sure to ask.

Dumpling World is a popular spot in Austin, located in The Triangle. While they offer fried rice and noodle dishes, their specialty lies in their diverse dumpling selection, available fried, boiled, or steamed. Visitors are encouraged to bring friends and family to sample the wide variety of flavors offered on the menu. Customers have praised the green beans and mushroom salad as well as the shrimp and pork xlb and beef & onion dumplings.
I stopped in for a solo lunch on a random Tuesday. Around 2:30, the place was empty, but not for long. Within 20 minutes, it almost filled up again. The team member who took my order was super kind and made some suggestions, and I'm glad I went with it. I got their Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup and pan-fried Beef and Onion dumplings. The dumplings were super juicy, and the filling-to-wrapper ratio was on point. But the real hero was the noodle soup. I've actually had all the noodle soups in that area, including the Chinatown Plaza. And I'd say this one is exceptionally generous for the price. The flavour was delicious. I'm a big chilli oil person, and this soup did not need anything. It was not as spicy as it was flavourful. And I didn't need to add anything else to it, which speaks volumes in my book.

Dumpling world is a small Chinese restaurant in the triangle that specializes in different types of dumplings. They have a few other dishes, but I haven’t tried anything but dumplings here. Their dumplings are big, probably at least twice the size of dumplings at most restaurants so order accordingly. The service is great and the parking situation is typical on the triangle. It can be a little hard, but there’s parking garages as well.

Enjoyed this spot, maybe not THE best in the city but still decent. I loved the spicy wontons, really great spices. I love that they give chili oil and black vinegar on the table, and the pitcher of lemon ice water without asking is something every Austin restaurant should take note of. Pork thumb buns were good, garlic bok choy is good and I loved dipping it in the vinegar and chili oil but I don’t typically order it so I don’t have a lot to compare it to. Chicken chow mein could be more flavorful in my opinion but it was still decent and the chicken was not dry at all and had a decent amount of it. Lemon supreme tea was delicious, I love that is on the less sweet side. Strawberry tea with popping boba was also really good, more sweet than the lemon tea without being overly so. Staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out in good time. A little pricey in the end for 4 food items and 3 teas at $80 total though.

Juicy pan-fried buns and passion fruit cucumbers are so refreshing. The beef stew noodle soup is flavorful, and the noodles are cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend!

I have lived in Austin for 6 years and it’s rare to find Asian food this good, and this place honestly exceeded my expectations. I tried the beef noodle soup, garlic green beans, and the spicy beef and sour dumplings- everything was so flavorful and delicious. The only minor downside is the small parking lot, but the food easily makes up for it!
Najiha M — Google review
Delicious! I had the passion fruit cucumber as an appetizer and it was sweet, almost like a cool dessert. The dumplings were great I had the steamed braised pork dumpling they were hot and stuffed with well seasoned meat
Iliana D — Google review
This is a hidden gem. They are the best wontons and Xiu Long Bao I have ever tried in US. The soup in Xiu Long Bao and Wonton soup so authentic, bold and rich. I will definitely come back.
Thông N — Google review
Food was delicious. I had the vegan potsticker and steam dumplings. Both delicious The other dishes tried were the beef shrimp chives steam dumplings and braised pork potstickers. The sizes of each potsticker/dumpling is large so lots of food! They bring a jug for water, which is really good too. The staff- the lady who took our order was NOT friendly or had a smile. When placing the order i told her it was our first time, she did not even acknowledge. She was interested in getting us to pay and leave… yes they had a waitlist, but did not even ask if we wanted anything. The servers who brought the food were nice, explained and smiled!

Dumpling King is a delightful haven for dumpling enthusiasts, where the atmosphere is both clean and inviting, creating an ideal setting to savor their freshly made offerings. Specializing solely in dumplings, Dumpling King stands out with its focus on quality and flavor. Among the must-try items are the pork, shrimp, chive, and pan-fried dumplings that have garnered much love from patrons.
Love this place, probably one of the very few best handmade dumplings in Austin. Every time we come here, we always order dumpling to go . BTW, they added new menu: crispy RouGaMo which is marinated meat in crispy bun. It’s 5 star taste! The vegan dumplings are super delicious too! Highly recommended!

Despite the name, this restaurant has more than dumplings, and they have fewer dumpling types that I had expected. The food is good, but not great, but the restaurant is clean and a nice place to hang out. The secret sauce healthy fungus is probably my favorite dish here. They have another dish called celery peanuts, that is pretty self-explanatory. I have never had it, but I’m so curious. Unlike a lot of Asian restaurants, their menu is not so big that it takes an hour to go through and decide. I prefer this.
Steve T — Google review
This place is my new obsession. Their pot pork is the closest thing I can get to the tangsuyuk(Korean style sweet and sour pork) my grandma used to make. My favorite dumplings are the pork and pickled cabbage and the lamb and cilantro. Some other sleeper hits are the braised beef noodle soup and the secret sauce healthy fungus. The flavor of the broth is beautifully aromatic and the braised shank is so tender. The noodles taste fresh and chewy. The secret sauce healthy fungus is wood ear mushrooms tossed in a really tasty seasoned soy sauce and it has that addictive crunchy texture I can't get enough of. I can't wait to work my way through tasting everything on their menu!

We ordered Pot Pork, chicken soup and lamb dumplings. All were fresh and delicious. Will be coming back for sure.
Susan W — Google review
My favorite was their chef recommendation pork dish, but the dumplings weren't my favorite, but it's probably just me as I am not used to it. The fried dumping was more pan fried, and I was expecting deep fried. Overall, it was a good experience. The herbal tea was amazing.
Dharshini M — Google review
Awesome dumpling spot. Menu is digital at the table but the wait staff will eventually visit your table and hand you hard printed menu’s. You order on the digital menu u or walk up to the front counter and order. The beef soup is fantastic and full of flavor as well as dumplings. Fanta soda we ordered was a bit flat and the water has a unique taste to it which is not the norm. Plenty of seating and overall clean establishment.

Dumplin King is an absolute gem! Every time I’ve been there, the food has blown me away with its freshness and flavor. I’ve tried the beef noodle soup, which was incredibly delicious and comforting, and the shrimp dumplings were simply out of this world—so flavorful and perfectly made! My friend had the shrimp fried rice, and it was equally impressive. One thing I really appreciate is that their food feels so clean and fresh. I usually have reactions to MSG when eating out at Asian restaurants, but I had no issues here, which speaks to the quality of their ingredients. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I’m surprised it’s not busier because the food and experience are phenomenal. I highly recommend Dumplin’ King to anyone looking for amazing Asian cuisine. You won’t be disappointed!

I make it into Chinatown, from Hutto, once a month and I always eat here. The braised pork (pork belly, tofu puffs, hard boiled egg, broccoli, and rice) is my go-to dish. I look forward to this dish all month. The meat-portion of the pork belly is tender and flavorful. The fat is buttery, and compliments the rice and tofu puffs. Speaking of the tofu puffs (fried squares of tofu, soaked in a delicious marinade): I could eat these every day of my life. Kassandra is the server who has always waited on me, and she is the best; attentive, pleasant, and even brings me my favorite beer before I even sit down. Again, this restaurant has great service, a clean environment, and delicious food.

Lotus Chinese offers a modern take on Cantonese cuisine, featuring wok and barbecue specialties in a contemporary setting. The menu includes a variety of dumplings and classic dishes like sweet-and-sour chicken. It's known for quick and easy options such as potstickers and noodles, making it convenient for families on the go. While the restaurant has limited dietary accommodations, it provides ample seating both indoors and outdoors. Customers can conveniently order through QR codes, although the service is described as basic.
I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about . Ive been in the restaurant industry a very long time and this place was ran Well, my fried rice was delicious. My pork dumplings were delicious. It is a great value for the price as well Don’t listen to the negative reviews. This is a great spot to have a quick meal at a very fair price for this day and age.

Do they not care to cook food all the way? Uncooked shrimp is unacceptable… Ordered food on 1/14 around 5:40pm-5:50pm if you guys care to refund back. Tried calling over the phone but no answer. Update: the pork egg rolls are also raw/undercooked….

Lotus Chinese at The Domain in Austin offers a spacious and modern setting. The dumplings were flavorful and well-prepared, but the beef and shrimp fried rice didn’t quite meet my expectations. The service was attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant, making it a comfortable spot for a casual meal. While some dishes stood out more than others, it’s worth exploring their menu to find your personal favorites.
Heysel R — Google review
The place is small but there is plenty of seating inside and I can't remember but I think outside as well. We ordered our food through the QR code and it didn't take long for it to come out. The food was actually good but did lack something I can't put my hand on it but it was good. The place could use a refresher I think. Service was basic.

Went here with friends. My friend and I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice, while my other friend ordered the sweet and sour sesame chicken with fried rice. The food did not meet our expectations, it seems the sauce was a little off for our taste. The quality of service was great and the portion size was suitable for the price. Probably will not return.

Food is ok… services is not quite as good as the food. The lady that worked here walked out and told me I could be at their table because I had a box from the donut store next door. She didn’t take him to consideration that I had zero time to order food or look at their menu, she didn’t take in his consideration than I was most likely gonna order at their restaurant, and she didn’t even ask if I was gonna eat there. She literally came out and told me I can’t sit at that table. So now you have one star and have lost a customer yes I’ve eaten here many times the food’s OK like I said earlier But I won’t be coming back

For improvement, service could be smoother by not rushin a new customer whom hasn't seen the menú. At 9:30pm I'm offered to-go container only, it takes away from the experience. The vegetabal lomein was good. I'd order again but, I'll likely challenge customer service for improvement if rushed again. Thanks for your kind service ✨️

Little Wu, a delightful culinary gem led by Chef Ji Peng Chen and the talented team at The Chameleon Group, has quickly become a favorite among food lovers since its debut in 2021. Nestled within Faregrounds, this casual eatery fills a much-needed gap for quality Chinese cuisine downtown.
The dumplings are hand made, the taste is great and authentic. The price is a little higher for the portions but if you are in this part of town, you know what you are paying for. There’s many places where the food is bad and the price is high, so to see a place that’s actually worth the money you pay, is nice. The customer service is great and I was met with smiles. Cool little vibe! The meal took some time to come out but it’s understandable since it’s hand made. Want to have a nice lunch? This is it.
J C — Google review
Really disappointing, I've tried the soup dumplings twice hoping that they were better super fresh-they are not fresh, nor good. They taste as if they are left open in a freezer. The dumplings themselves are super doughy, and the filling is ok, but little soup within. The vinegar sauce tasted like jelly with vinegar, not good at all. $8 for these 3 dumplings felt like too much for the quality. The crispy dumplings were hard and chewy, hardly crispy. The dough was so thick it was unappetizing. The pork ball inside was rubbery and dry. I definitely won't be going back here. Julie's Noodles is a bit farther away, but much more tasty dumplings and double the dumplings for the same price.
A V — Google review
Food was delicious but definitely expensive for the portion of food- this is not the place to go to if you are looking for a full size meal, feels more like appetizers. Would recommend having more pictures of the food. Went over for pick up and it was ready in time, I did not get to interact with anyone so can’t really make comments on the customer service. I did want to mention that my personal info such as name, email and phone number was on the receipt and stapled on the bag. They place all orders ready for pick up in the counter. anyone can read your info easily. Paid $8, $11 after tip for these 3 small dumplings.

Located in the Fareground Food Hall. Decent food. Tried the lamian noodles with braised shiitake, marinated tofu in seaweed, ginger sauce, wood ear mushrooms, cilantro, scallions and crispy shallots. Also tried their chicken dumplings and vegetable potstickers. Yum!
Jani O — Google review
Ya’lllll this place is a no. Flat out. Yes the soup dumplings taste good, yea they make it out to seem like they are freshly making your dumplings by telling you that it’ll take about 15-20 minutes for your 3 miniature dumplings to come out but the cherry on top is the $8 price tag for 3 soup dumplings!!! Pass on the place and head over to Julie’s Noodles and you won’t regret it. I’ve attached a picture of what $16 worth of food looks like that didn’t even make a dent in my hunger that day. Overpriced.
Carolina A — Google review
We only had the dumplings and the cucumber. The cucumbers where delicious. The dumplings where good but they a little more seasoning. I’ll have to go back and try other dishes.
Liz P — Google review
Had the mushroom and tofu noodles with pork fritters and chicken dumplings. Unreasonably expensive for the amount of dumplings and size of dumplings. Dumpling skin was too thin and size of dumpling too small. The noodles were unnecessarily salty, along with the mushrooms. Every bite felt like I was eating a tablespoon of salt. The pork fritters were also a mouthful of salt and overly dry. The noodles were over cooked. I recommend trying another restaurant while at Fare Ground. While eating the noodles, wished I had gotten a sandwich instead.( if that doesn’t tell you how bad the noodles were then I don’t know what does)
Val V — Google review
This is what $29.40 buys you at Little Wu in the way of soup dumplings and egg rolls. Bland, tasteless soup dumplings, literally no flavor and not fresh, and the egg rolls were basically just taquitos (served in the white paper on the left). The white guy at the register was super nice, but we got to stop giving these places our money. This is fake Chinese food

This Austin chinese restaurant is a great place to go for dim sum and some other Chinese cuisine. The extensive menu has plenty of options, both in terms of what you can order as dim sum and what you can eat as main dishes. They have a banquet dining area with plenty of seats, so it's perfect for large groups.
New Fortune Chinese is one of my favorite places to eat in Austin. My go to favorites are Shaky beef and salt and pepper shrimp, but I have never had anything that I didn't like. Saturday and Saturday lunch they have dim sum carts that come to your table if you have never tried it cool experience. I love to try new stuff on the huge menue...

OMG a real dimsum experience in Austin! I was thrilled to come and try and was not disappointed. Great service, authentic vibes, delicious food. I heard they Are closing cuz rent is going up so they'll move somewh else. I'm just glad they won't be gone forever. 5/5, if you are a real foodie you'll love this place. Decent selection, amazing for a not super Asian city like Austin. I'd come every week. (P.s. not cheap, two people we spent $65+, but super worth it)

My first time trying dim sum so I don't have much experience but everything was good! The highlights for me were the crystal shrimp dumplings, the stuffed tofu with shrimp and the salt egg cream bun for dessert. Service was great. Also pictured: onion pancakes, scallop dumpling, bean curd with oyster sauce and soup dumplings

We tried so many dishes and all were wonderful. Favorite was the soup dumpling and the Mongolian beef. My friend had the tso chicken and said it was the best she ever had! Atmosphere not very impressive but the wait staff was is so good you forget about the vibe.
K S — Google review
A group of friends and I decided to try this place out. The reviews on Yelp were pretty good, so I thought I would add a review on Google. We had several of the Dim Dum options and they were all really good and fresh! The onion pancake was a little doughy and wish there had been more onions but I would get it again because the flavor was great. The dumplings and BBQ baos were soooo flavorful. We also tried a few of the dinner dishes below: * Beef & Broccoli was great and the sauce was full of flavor * Mongolian Beef was full of flavor but it could have been spicier (personal preference) * General Tso Chicken - Was THE BEST I have had in a very long time...we are talking 10 years. If I go back for anything, it will be this dish! I Recommend you give this place a try. The staff are super nice and also helpful with picking out Dim Sum that you would like and/or have questions about.

Nice place, great dim sum. They do a good job with pickup orders and their Covid setup. Orders are on a table, you pay through some plexiglass. Their website verification is a little strange but the great dumplings are worth it. Soup dumplings and basil chicken dumplings are personal favorites. But everything is good, it’s hard to go wrong.

Elizabeth Street Café is a charming establishment that offers a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine. Located in South Austin, this café features a delightful garden patio and bright indoor spaces. The menu includes traditional Vietnamese dishes like pho and banh mi, as well as creative French breakfast items. Guests can savor the delectable Ginger-chili Oil Dumplings, marinated in a flavorful sauce with pork, shrimp, water chestnuts, and herbs.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. The food is just so good. We’ve tried so many things on the menu and have loved it all. Only complaint is service and be a little slow and the seating is tight because it’s a small restaurant but the rest of the experience makes up for it. If you’re looking for great Vietnamese food in the Austin area, this is the spot.
Grant W — Google review
My husband and I visited Elisabeth Street Café on a Sunday for a late lunch, and street parking nearby was easy to find. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and, since we had a reservation, promptly shown to our table. The tables are set quite close together - so, at times when the noise level is not deafening, it kind of feels like a large banquet table as one can overhear conversations from nearby guests. Overall, I had two main concerns during our visit: Noise level: the restaurant was extremely loud. Voices from a large table carried throughout the room, making it difficult to hear my husband even when sitting directly across from him. The atmosphere became uncomfortable, and I would recommend that management consider adding sound-absorbing panels to help balance the acoustics. Food spiciness: while the flavors were bold, the redfish dish was overwhelmingly spicy. I usually tolerate heat quite well, but this level of spice left me with severe reflux, which is very uncommon for me. It would be helpful if the staff asked guests about their spice tolerance before serving dishes prepared with such intensity. Elisabeth Street Café has great potential, with a lovely ambiance and attentive service, but addressing the noise and spice-level concerns would make the dining experience much more enjoyable.
Allyne D — Google review
The food was outstanding, a solid 50/10. The presentation, dish choices, flavors, and temperature were all amazing. However, the service left much to be desired. I initially thought I could give them the benefit of the doubt, considering they were transitioning into dinner service, but I was never offered anything to drink beyond the water that their attentive busser provided. Even though I was dining alone, I had to encourage a family of three to seek out their server. The inattentiveness of the staff was frustrating, and I can't honestly recommend this place for a dining experience but I would for take out.

Xian Sushi and Noodle is an Asian restaurant that offers a comfortable and casual setting for enjoying hand-pulled Chinese noodles and signature sushi rolls. The name 'Xian' means fresh in Chinese, reflecting the emphasis on freshness at this eatery. The crew hand-pulls all their noodles, including those used in ramen and other dishes on the menu.
Shoutout to Kevin, the manager, for the great recommendation! The Dan Dan noodles were absolutely delicious—super flavorful, filling, and I finished the plate way quicker than I expected. The vibe at Xian Sushi and Noodles is always great, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Also, big thanks for the bottle of wine hookup! Definitely coming back for more.
Bo T — Google review
Ordered Dan Dan noodles to go, apparently the Dan Dan noodles here are different than what I’m used to, using sliced beef in broth. Maybe I just don’t know what Dan Dan noodles are, so I can get over the misunderstanding, but the noodles and veggies were cold, and the broth/beef was lukewarm, so once combined they were at room temperature with some cold spots. On top of that the beef looks like a cheap cut that was pretty tough. Overall flavor was okay but not a great experience. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that this would be better if I hadn’t gotten it to-go, so that’s why I’m giving them 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. Regardless, I would advise against the Dan Dan noodles.

This is my go to place for sushi or noodles, I typically order the combination fried rice or lo-mein and it is so good! I introduced my niece and nephew to sushi here and they now love it as well, this is one of our favorite places to go together. They have a semi open kitchen where you can see the noodle chef pulling the noodles and it’s cool for the kids. They have a good kid menu also. They’re always prompt with seating, the staff is nice, and food is great! I’ve also been to the other location in the Domain and had a similar experience!

Everything was pretty good. We got the * pork buns( the meat to bun ratio leaves you wanting more of the pork belly, but overall flavor was well balanced) * California Roll * Dragon Roll * Chicken Fried Rice * Shoyu Ramen( the noodles and broth are PERFECTION and a MUST try) * Dan Dan noodles( perfectly savory and spicy with noodles that were absolutely delicious). Overall, great food. Service could have been slightly better, but for a busy Saturday night, it wasn't bad at all.

It's not just a few fillets- they have tanks filled with living fish and even a tray with live crab! They had a great deal on lobster tail that were delicious. I also checked out the Asian deli for a quick bite. To be hones, the prepared food I tried was just okay, nothing spectacular. However, do yourself a favor and look for in-house made baos (steamed buns) in the refrigeration section next to deli. They were scrumptious! I checked the ingredients list and was happy to see they were much better and cleaner than the standard froze options. This is definitely my new go-to for a quick or meal prep item.

99 Ranch Market is an interesting, Japanese-forward grocery store that’s a great spot for finding unique and hard-to-find ingredients. They carry a wide variety of imported products, from specialty sauces and seasonings to snacks and drinks you won’t typically see in regular grocery stores. One of the highlights is the fresh seafood section in the back, where you can find a large selection of fish and shellfish, much of it displayed whole and ready to be cut to your preference. It’s a great place for anyone who enjoys cooking with fresh, authentic ingredients. The store layout makes it easy to browse, and there’s plenty to explore if you’re curious about trying new recipes or flavors. While it’s not a place I’d necessarily do all my grocery shopping, it’s definitely worth visiting for its specialty items and cultural variety.

One of the best Asian markets in Austin is where you can find all the ingredients to make most Asian meals at an affordable price.

This is my favorite asian market! So many options here that I usually can't find elsewhere! Very organized, clean and friendly staff.

The service here is very poor. I’ve come here many times because I have to admit that the products here are more complete. However, it’s very disappointing that none of the employees are friendly — even the cashier never says “thank you” after completing a transaction. I think all the staff here, without exception, need to be taught proper manners. Even the male staff standing next to the cashier — I’m not sure what his position is, but he doesn’t even smile at customers, and the way he looks at customers is impolite.

The seafood tanks are the cleanest I have ever seen in any Asian markets. This speaks volumes about how they care about their cleaning standards 👍👍👍 We also like their hot pot meats selections, so many quality meats and vegetables. Not too crazy about the hot food sections, expensive and wasn’t that good.
